« Place to stay near Kings Dominion »

Not a bad place to stay. There were a few issues but the front desk made up for it. Offer shampoo and body wash but been out last two times been there. Has Dennys onsite. During summer nice pool party going on. Perfect after a day at the park. Friendly staff and willing to help

    « Clean room »

We stayed one night after visting Kings Dominon. The staff was nice. Our room was not ready on time and front desk staff stayed on top of housekeeping and had it done fast. The room was clean with proper towels sheets etc. It did not smell or stink. We had a smoking room even though we have nonsmoking houses so I brought spray but did not need it. The TV and remote worked. Fridge and hair dryer worked. I did not use microwave coffee maker or room safe. The AC worked well as I used even though it was in the 50's. I did not hear people or traffic when I went to bed around 1am. The only cons in the room was well worn chair arm and the chair needed to be moved away from AC. But I didnt sit in the chair. Also crack in sink. I did not use the ice machines or vending machine. I will review Dennys on their page. The hotel can not be held accountable for their crappy food. Room 539 .

    « Needs attention »

When I booked I didn't realize it was a hotel that caters to people who are having a theme park week vacation. I am use to hotels that are kept up. The room felt old and well used. It didn't feel clean and I think that is mostly because it is well used and needs some updating. I did find a stiff wash cloth left behind which I assume was used by the people who clean. I didn't want to take my shoes off, which I usually do in a hotel. Had 2 nights booked, but cancelled the second night. We could also smell smoke in our room even though it was non smoking. It was coming from the room next door. The stairwell felt like going into a subway. It felt dirty and was very dark. The beds didn't feel clean either. I think it might have been that the sheets weren't fitted properly. It did have a good size fridge and is very close to Kings Dominion (right outside the window).

We stayed at the Best Western and the rooms were okay, but when we checked in we were hungry and needed food for myself and my drivers. We ordered from Denn'ys and the food and the service was horrible. The manager then lied and stated that they were out of everything because the Governor of North Carolina was not allowing trucks to drive in the state due to the storm. I told him we had just come from there and he said big trucks are different. I not only own the trucking company but was in fact driving a BIG truck. I do not like liars.

    « disappointed »

I explained in previous page about lack of sleep, cleanliness and poor advertisement. I could not sleep from the rowdy guests in a few rooms down where they had the door open all night and they kept coming out half naked at times. No complimentary breakfast as advertised in website and dirty tub.

    « Best Western-KQ »

Our room was very damp and had a smell (probably due to this being a pet friendly hotel). There was, what appeared to be, mildew on the walls. The beds are not very big and very uncomfortable. Convenient to Kings Dominion and The Meadows Event. On-site restaurant was average.

    « not so happy »

we asked for more towels never got any we asked for a bar of soap never got any the rug was ugly and all stained afraid to walk in bare feet not a good experience at a Best Western have used them alot but not this one again.

« Probably stay somewhere else »

Hotel really needs to be gutted and redone. The rooms are worn out, smell funky, the fixtures are worn out. An electrical box is hanging out of the wall in my room. The room was not cleaned properly (No no, *I'll* clean the toilet seat, thanks, that was disgusting). Called for more towels because it was never restocked, they didn't come after telling me they'd be right there. The phone service ran me around in circles until someone answered. It's over $100 / night because it's right next to Kings Dominion, and this week, the VA State Fair. If possible, stay somewhere else.

Extremely worn and dirty rooms, not worth the money being charged for it - at all! Just in case you don't ask and they do not tell you, this is a "pet friendly" hotel... I stayed in a room that had pets prior to my stay and there is carpet on the floor (dark green) so I could not see the pet droppings until I stepped on them.

    « Doswell stay »

Close enough to walk to the park - so easy!! Nothing plush but met our needs for the weekend. It was nice to leave the park and come back to the room for a quick rest and then return without having to deal with the parking lot etc. It allowed our group to come and go without worrying about what others wanted or needed.

    « Checked in..dirty room »

First off, the room had a strange aroma from the moment we walked in. Second, the floor was covered in dust and little bug pieces. All I can say is that this hotel is very low quality to say the least. Won't be staying here again.

    « A nice place to stat »

This is a nice clean quiet hotel, of course it is the off season for kings dominion so there is like nobody here. The only complaint is they have laminate flooring in the rooms, other than that fantastic. It is conveniently located off of I95 just above Richmond. The bed was very comfortable and as I said the room was very clean.

« One Night at this Hotel »

It was fine for one night. The carpet in the room did smell of cleaner, which wasn't too bad. When the faucet in the bath tub came off, I fixed it myself (plumber's sister, that's me).. Overall, our stay here was comfortable (nice big bed), and easily accessible.

    « Needs a do-over »

This location could use a dramatic renovation, especially for the price it charges per night irregardless of its so-called convenience to the park. My wife pressed me to "choose" this location over others because of its proximity and shuttle service to the park. She regrets not going with my options.

« No free Breakfast at this Hotel »

The room was satisfactory but be sure you bring your own bottled water. Denny's charge 3.00 a bottle and Kings Dominion charge 4.00. Food is very pricey at Denny's and Kings Dominion. Denny's don't always get your food order correct. When your paying between 15.00-25.00, This shouldn't be an issue. Yes you pay for your own breakfast as well so hotel can make as much money off you as possible! These people aren't your friend. As an customer your just a dollar sign. Please consider other Best Western hotels that at least give you as an customer a free meal. Denny's failed to get my food order correct at least two times and didn't care! I ordered an ice tea and received a cup of unsweeten warm tea. Called and complainted about this to no avail. Yes I spent over 200.00 for food from this establishment. Please don't book at this hotel. You can do alot better! I spent over 500.00 on the hotel room alone. Once again, If you see this hotel when booking an hotel room, Please run because they don't care about you as an customer. You are no more than a dollar sign!!!!!

« Dirty Rooms with Flies »

AVOID BEST WESTERN Since my stay in 2011 My wife and I have refused to stay at a Best Western hotel as a result of an experience in Paris France. which I wrote Mr Kong about. 5 years later I finally thought to retry another stay with your chain choosing Best Western near Kings Dominion in Doswel, VA. This time traveling as a family- figuring it was a midway stop from South Carolina and New York. Spend a day at the park, rest and continue home. When I checked the reviews they were average- so I figured give it a chance. Last time there were issues booking through so this time I called BestWestern to book directly. I will say the booking of the reservation and the woman at the front desk who tried to check us in were pleasant. The room quality however was horrible. After driving 8 hrs and getting to a stopping point all I wanted was a descent room. The first room 207 had dirt and wrappers all over the floor. She then walked me to several other rooms along the building -2nd and 3rd room 211 and 213 were no better and had flies and weird smells. Finally room 217 at least had clean floors but just a few flies- which scared my 3 and 4 year olds. All we were looking for was a descent room and bed, the kids being tired and needing to get out we took 217 and asked to cancel the rest of the stay as there was no way we would spend any more time at the hotel. Sadly after checking current reviews it seems that more recent reviews report these same findings From tripadvisor "yes the floors are dirty" , "it was dirty", "Friendly but unclean". I am very upset with and unfortunately we will not stay at your chain any more. I hope this email finds its way to the right people to prevent other families from having to go through this experience.

« The good and the bad »

Lets start with the good you can park at the hotel and walk to Kings Dominion and Save the parking charges because the hotel is quite literally in the Kings Dominion parking lot. The room itself was not bad it looked to be recently updated and relatively clean the only negative about the room was the incredibly small bathroom. It was so small that you were wrestling the shower curtain to use the commode and the door would rub the shower rod opening and closing. You do not get any kind of breakfast provided by the hotel due to the fact that there is a Denny's attached. The place does have a ton of activities with a pool a tiki bar game room ping pong tables outside tennis courts etcetera etcetera. The room prices were Fair and I would not hesitate to stay again.

    « Family trip »

When I pulled into the hotel, I said "Great its walking distance from Kings Dominion." When I checked in my smile turned upside down. The carpet was dirty, the odor was bad and it was ants everywhere. My 2nd room was a little better but the hair dryer didnt work..The only good thing about this hotel is its in walking distance from Kings Dominion.

« My Best Western Experience »

This hotel is really decent and the price of the room with the Kings Dominiom package is really a bargain. The pool stays open pretty late and also theres a lounge you can go and have a lounge inside and drinks are served outside as well. A small arcade for the kids also.

    « rooms »

the rooms were very small and dark. the location was in a great area to the park and the restaurant (dennys) the tiki bar at the pool could've been open during the night for the adults while the kids were in the pool.

    « was not happy »

We had to clean our room, tub had hair in, microwave dirty, my friends refrigerator had hair in it as well, along with dust every where, Sam with the cleaning staff was called in along with staff that should have clean the room, since mentioned items were not clean I was suspect to the beds being changed, so they changed them as well. Room smelled of mildew, communication with the front desk was upsetting. (when we checked in the one young lady was very helpful, the other seemed like I was bothering her) loved the convenience of walking to the park. Rooms need to be updated and over hauled. Consider a different location

« Royal Quarters for overnight visit »

We stayed at BW Kings Quarters as an overnight stop on out way to NC Beaches. This hotel is right at Kings Dominion. It is right outside the parking lot gate of KD. It takes 5 minutes to walk to the main gate. We were not there for the park but I'd stay here for a visit to the park. It was only the next morning that we found out we could have gotten a discounted ticket to ride the rides that night. Regardless, the BW is great for children. Pool, game room, playground, tennis, pool tables, ping pong, b-ball. The hotel is more of a motel set up. Two floors with center courtyard where the amenities are. All the room doors go to the outside and either face the parking lots or overlook the pool area. There is a Denny's on property which is open 24 hrs. We traveled with our dog and choose this property as it was pet friendly. (Fee charged) There are several dog poop stations and designated areas for dogs which ring the parking lots and plenty of space to walk your dog. The rooms were clean, neat and comfortable. Due to the amount of traffic this hotel gets there is a certain amount of wear on the place which is to be expected. Found the staff to be friendly. Good value for the price. Would stay here again.

Vacation. everything on site of hotel. pool was clean. a lot of things to do. bar by pool. mini golf, ping pong. loved looking over at the park at night with everything lite up was beautiful . grounds were keep clean,

« Want dirty, dusty hardwood floors? »

Paid $136 for a night. Gave us room #123. Didn't take long to find issues. Since it had laminated flooring, I did a quick check under the bed. A couple kernels of popcorn, collection of various clumped hairs, dust and gunk underneath. Dusty dresser table with food crumbs. Walked to front desk to tell them and they changed our room to #121. No problem. Same kind of floors, same kind of issue...minus the popcorn. Now, if any of the rooms were carpeted, it wouldn't have been so obvious but if you're gonna have laminated flooring, a dust mop would be much easier than vacuuming. And, it just wasn't under the bed. Both entire rooms were not cleaned on the floors! We both were tired and at least the bed was clean so we just left it alone to get sleep for the theme park the next day. Bathroom was decent but low water pressure.

    « Family fun »

I enjoyed the stay there and so did my children. We liked the fact that the hotel was within walking distance of Kings Dominion. I loved the fact that since we stayed there for the purposes of having a family fun day at Kings Dominion they gave us a parking pass even though we checked out the morning of the day went to KD. Saved us money on parking, which was AWESOME!!

    « Disappointed »

The location of this property was great. The size of the room with a frig & microwave were also nice unfortunately that's all. It was dirty!! With clumps of hair in the tub/shower stall, crumbs on the floor and hair in an unused " clean" towel. We let the front desk know at 9:30 am only to return at 4:30 pm and still find a dirty bathroom. I was disappointed to say the least. I've stayed at other Best Westerns but this by far was the worst!

« We loved the convienience »

First let me tell you that if you're sick of limited food choices. Exit 92 in Ashland has lots to choose from. Chick fil A, Wendy's, Arbys, Taco Bell, ruby Tuesdays among a lot of other choices. Also has a Walmart & CVS Let me also say that Denny's service has nothing to do with this hotel. Our stay wasn't perfect but it was FAR FROM 1-2stars! Your are less than a football field from the front gate of kings dominion! The rooms are decent. Clean sheets, bathrooms, beds, no creatures. Yes the floors (hard not carpet) are dirty. But at these prices....wear slippers!!!!! The jerk people who allowed their kids in pools after 9 pm to be loud & obnoxious. While they sat at tiki bar with loud rap type music- no respect for others. You have no manners. The chicks walking by our room at 3am with your loud talking & kids who stomp running down upper floors. YOU ARE WHY HOTELS GET CRAP REVIEWS. YOU'RE TRASH! I hope you get infection in your under regions! The hotel itself was fine. Lots to do for kids. Seriously. Bring a putting club, tennis racket. Tons to do. Have some self respect & manners. Don't let your kids be loud- don't be a loud jerk after 10pm. There are other people staying here too. Our room was ok. Clean- the tub drained slow. And limited cable channels and the fact the bathroom light/fan switch was outside the room so when you turned it on it was loud.and the floors get dirty fast This place was great! Right next to park & get room service up till 3am. Stayed in room 201. And very happy.

« Lets go have fun »

Great hotel in best location for Kings Dominion. Clean and lots of nice amenities for familys. Walked to the park in two minutes. Nice pool with a Tikki bar. Pizza and Denny's on premise. Had a great time with my grandkids

    « Enjoyed »

Great place to stay and it is close proximity to Kings Dominion. The pool lounge is the highlight of the stay. The kids enjoyed the experience. The staff was very good and attentive to our needs. I will definitely make this the place I stay when I visit the theme park.

    « Fantastic Stay »

Everyone was friendly and efficient, fro the hotel staff to the restaurant. The grounds were exceptionally well kept. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The pool and amenities were such a great bonus.

    « Not clean »

My family and I stayed at the Best Western Kings Quarters hotel on August 5, 2016. First let me say, this hotel is nothing close to being a ?kings quarters.? I honestly feel we could have gotten better room accommodations at the sleazy motel looking facility right across the street. I have never had an experience at a hotel like this one. My cousin reserved the room and sent me information showing the description of the room. It specifically stated hotel suite with 2 double beds and a sofa bed along with other amenities. She called the hotel after booking and they confirmed this along with advising her of the bar, Denny's restaurant and arcade located there. We checked into the room around 9:30 that evening and walked into a humid, musky room with 2 double beds with a table and 2 chairs. Not at all what we reserved. When she called the front desk the lady bluntly stated ?you have to take that up with whoever you used to book the room, not us.? This would be Expedia. After getting off the phone with her we noticed one of the children with us had fallen on the floor and when he got up there was animal fur all over his clothes. We did not bring any pets with us. We looked on the chairs and there was animal fur along with other stains (I will not mention what I think they were) on the chairs as well. We called the front desk twice requesting they send someone to clean the room and was told room service would be there in 15-20 minutes. After an hour passed my cousin and I left to get some food leaving my aunt to wait on room service. I checked back to see if anyone had come by and 45 minutes after we left the room 2 guys showed up to clean the mess. Mind you it's dark, my aunt had no idea who they were and almost didn't let them in. They came in to bring a roll out bed since we did not have the sofa bed as well as clean up the dog fur. What did they clean it with? A lint brush. No vacuum but a lint brush and proceeded to use that same lint brush from the floor on the chairs. During this waiting period we were told that room service was very busy. I can understand that however, when I was made aware of who room service was I specifically remember seeing those same 2 guys riding around on the hotel golf cart, parking, reclining back and smoking cigarettes. They didn't look busy to me. It had been years since I've been to Kings Dominion and myself along with my family were excited to go. I expected more from accommodations located right on the theme park grounds. I don't know why I did but I just did. The hotel ended up refunding us our money because of everything that happened and we appreciate that. But in the future, when someone books their room and calls to confirm accommodations, actually look at what they have booked, make sure it's the same as what is in your system and tell them the TRUTH about the accommodations. Do not wait until they get there and act as if ?oh its not our problem.? Train hotel staff to be more customer friendly, teach them the proper ways to clean and the proper tools to use to do the cleaning. A lint brush does not clean animal fur from a carpet but a vacuum does. And if the front desk staff is going to use the ?busy? excuse, then make sure they are actually busy and not seen lounging by the hotel guests.

    « Economic, Family-friendly Lodging »

You can't get anymore convenient than BW Kings Quarters. Is it fancy? No. But for staying a night or two with the kids while visiting King's Dominion, it's great! One of our kids was needing a nap while the other was still coaster crazy. No problem. Husband and I divided and conquered. We simply hopped onto the convenient shuttle that comes by every 20 minutes when we were ready for a break from the park. Later, when it was cooler outside, we just walked off dinner (there is a Denny's on property) and headed back to KD on foot. Depending on the time of year, the pool stays open later than most others, so the kids got to burn off the last of their excitement with a post-park swim before bed. Room was clean and neat. I have a bad back, but slept like a baby on the mattress and pillows. Looking forward to more visits to this property in the future.

    « Friendly but unclean »

This location is very close to Kings Dominion, but not worth the convenience. The "non-smoking" room reeked of cigarette smoke and the floor was not clean. We found hair not only in the floor but in the beds, as well. The staff was friendly, but there were no other vacancies to move us to another room. My daughter begged for us to leave...

    « stay away »

location is not worth the trade off for cleanliness and room size. be comfortable and bug free and stay a little further away from the park. all other hotels have shuttles, which is a nice way to travel to the park. this hotel is literally falling apart

    « Nice Hotel! »

Hotel was very nice and clean. Table tennis was out in sun so the ball wouldn't bounce on the table. The pool was almost too warm, which made it not really enjoyable. Our only complaint is that the music from the tiki bar at the pool was playing rap music very loud late at night like 11:00pm. Which may be a disturbance for families with young children. We may stay here next year.

    « Kings Dominion »

Great location for Kings dominion, we really enjoyed the convenience of walking from the entrance to the motel Room were good, and clean. There is plenty of activities provided by the motel. Great staff, and overall fun stay for family

    « Just a Place to Sleep »

Our family stayed here in mid-June for two nights to take advantage of visiting another one of Cedar Fair's parks using our Platinum Pass while we were on our way to our final vacation destination. We were less than impressed with the accomodations at Kings Quarters and we were less than impressed with the patrons. The floors are a laminate wood that seem constanly dirty. At 11:00, 12:00, 1:00 in the morning people and children were running/shouting/talking loudly right outside our door. There is also very little around the surrounding area. Very little fast food for breakfast, etc. We went up the Eiffel Tower one day and looked around and didn't realize until then that the amusement park is all there is and then trees/fields as far as the eye can see. Overall this provided a place to sleep for two nights that was in the parking lot of Kings Dominion. Since there is very little in this area Kings Quarters provided what we needed for our chance to ride some new rides.

    « Meh... »

The toilet bowl was cracked. The towels had stuff on them. And there was hair in the tub. Definitely not what I expected out of a "resort property". P.S. The bathroom is very cramped. But I guess that's how they made room for the king suite.

    « King's Dominion, Here I come!!! »

Let me start off with the fact that the premises was across the road from KD, that in itself was a plus. I got there a little bit before check in, and from the moment we stepped through the doors, my gf and I were greeted with smiles (another plus). We were told the room was being prepared and as soon as it was ready we could go in. The gaming room, bar, diner (Dennys) all made the week long vacay even more homey. It was peaceful and tranquil. The room was immaculate, and remained that way throughout the duration of our stay. Kudos to the housekeeping dept. I would definitely come back again. Keep up the good work Best Western team. And a special shout out to Audrianna and her front desk counterpart who checked us in. Hope to see you guys in Jamaica soon. Kudos again!!!!

« Good place to stay for the $ and entertainment »

We had an overall good experience at the Best Western. The Denny's food was good, the walk to Kings Dominion is less then 10 mins, even in the heat. My only problem was the bathroom had not been cleaned properly. There were stains on the shower walls. I did alert the front desk and they gave me a late checkout of 3pm which was appreciated... however it took them forever to just to get someone to the room to clean the bathroom again ;(. Despite that we had a great time. And the biggest plus is that the hotel pool didn't close until 12am!

    « nice for a night »

We stayed as a family while we visited Kings Dominion. The location is very convenient as it is literally next door with a shuttle service that takes you to and from the park. The room was VERY clean and spacious. Everyone was very friendly. I knocked one star off due to miscommunication with whomever at the hotel we booked with over the phone. When we booked we specifically asked if there was onsite workout room/ gym. We were told YES. We also asked if there was a continental breakfast provided. Again we were told YES. There is no gym onsite. They have a playground, shuffleboard, tennis courts, video arcade...NO gym. They also do not supply a continental breakfast. You can purchase breakfast at an onsite diner. Overall the stay was fine. It was a perfect location for our Kings Dominion trip. I just wished that whomever we booked with were more attentive to our questions rather than saying "yes" to everything especially on ammenities the hotel clearly doesnt deliver on.

    « Never again!!! »

We stayed at this hotel unexpectedly after a day at KD. The young lady at the front desk, Rebecca, was extremely nice and helpful. The fact that it was walking distance from the park was great. But that is where the positivity ends. Because this was not planned, I didn't know what to expect. Rebecca informed me that she only had 2 smoking rooms left, but I really needed a room. So I did go into it knowing that the room would smell like smoke, but what I found was HORRIBLE!!! First of all the room wasn't clean, the floor was dirty, there were dead flies and gnats all over, the bathroom still had tobacco on the floor, someone had left a burned insence in the door jamb, the tub AND hand towels had long stringy hair all over it. I called Rebecca who had housekeeping come to at least sweep and mop the floors. I cleaned the tub myself. Secondly, there were people outside my door until around 2:30/3:00 in the morning. They were cursing, playing loud music and slamming doors. I would peep out the window and they would quiet for about 10 minutes and then it would start all over again. I was honestly afraid to close my eyes because I did NOT feel safe. I was just so disappointed, I thought that being close to KD would mean it was decent , but this definitely was not. I stayed in Room 116, and I will never step foot in this hotel again.

« Not worth as much as charged »

Everything started just fine the service from the people was great the problem started in the room. It smelled dirty and moldy. At 3 am there was a scary banging on our door when husband checked no one was there.

    « Not very clean »

Have been staying at Best Western Hotels exclusively for the past 14 years. Have never had a problem with cleanliness. Our room had dirt, food and dead bugs on the floor and mud on the wall. Definitely will not stay at this particular Best Western again.

« Great place to stay while visiting King's Dominion »

The staff is cheerful and helpful. There is a great pool, tennis courts, putting green, game room, plenty for the kids to do before the park opens and after a day at the park. There is a Denny's onsite - very convenient.

« great access to KD »

very clean pleasant stay with very easy access to Kings Dominion. The rooms were nothing fancy but comfortable and the pool was great. Good price for such easy access to KD...will most definitely stay again.

    « Worst Western »

I stayed here with my children, during the summer. We drove up the night before and went to Kings Dominion the next day. We live in Northern Virginia, which is not too far away, but we wanted to avoid the often-awful traffic of I-95. I paid "extra" for one of the bigger rooms with two beds, at the end of the 300 building. We were on the ground floor, Room 326. Upon entering, it seemed very Best Western-like: mid-grade hotel furniture; scratchy towels; tiny bathroom; weird textured ceilings, etc. We met friends who were in less expensive rooms in the 300 building, and hung out in their room, because it was brighter and more inviting than our room. When we got back and I went to get into bed, I noticed that there was a black hair on the outside bedding (i.e., no one in my family has black hair). I looked closer and saw many more. I pulled back the top sheet/blanket combination, hoping there would be nothing, and found many more black hairs -- head/body/pubic IN the sheets. I then told my children to get OUT of their bed, and checked, and their bed, if possible, was even worse. But, it was late, and I did not know what to do, so I pulled out the "extra" sheets for the pull-out couch, stripped back the outer sheets of the bed, pulled up the flat sheet over the fitted sheet, and we all slept above the flat sheet and below the blanket, with an extra sheet above us. Needless to say, it took some time for me to fall asleep. The next morning, we left as soon as possible, and I now have our suitcase, open, in the garage, until I can figure out what to do with the clothes in there. I will never stay at this hotel again and will definitely dissuade everyone I know from staying there. I cannot imagine what combination of housecleaning/laundry/administrative failures caused our beds to be so full of other people's hair, from all parts of their bodies, but this was the singularly most disgusting night in a hotel I have ever spent. Other comments on the room -- the door to the outside was not well-insulated, so noise, light and air came through the cracks easily. Also, my neighbors decided to stay up until 12:30AM, and I heard their conversations, clear-as-a-bell through the connecting (but closed) door. Yes, I did not give the hotel a chance to make things better. But, goodness, how could I trust that they would? My recommendation is to stay anywhere but here.

    « Terrible »

I purchased an online package for 4, which includes a ticket for kings dominion per person. When we got here the desk person tells us there's only one ticket and we need to purchase additional tickets. Then the manager gets involved. I had a print out with me that shows the legal and reservation statement. 1 ticket per occupant. 4 occupants reserved. This manager "HOPE" WAS SOO RUDE. it ended up being an Internet glitch on the best western site which best western customer service help me get corrected. But the local management here was giving such a hard time it took 2 hours of sitting in the lobby waiting and phone calls from best western customer service (paula) to this local management to finally get 4 tickets and check in. Terrible experience. We chose this hotel for the convince and package savings... I don't think we will be staying at best western anytime soon. Apparently you do get what you pay for.

i stay at this hotel every 4th of July. Had to stay in the room most of the time because of the weather, but still had a nice time. I am very fimiliar with the area so i ventured out to Ashland and Richmond while the weather was bad and made my stay a little more enjoyable.

« My stay at Best Western King Quarters »

I had planned a trip to go to Kings Dominion with my wife and daughter. The Best Western Kings Quarters hotel was the way. to go. The shuttle service and the on site restaurant really helped out a lot. The bed was really comfortable and the room was cozy and up to date.I would definitely come here again and recommend this to some one who wants a good hotel and a good price.

    « kings fest »

Hotel was fine, did not get the room i asked for at booking, which was a little upsetting. But overall was fine. the room was clean, but the bathroom tub had a leak. the room also had a slight odder problem.

    « great hotel »

I enjoyed 2 nights this Best Western and everything was excellent. I enjoyed the convenience of walking to Kings Dominion and the Denny's located on the property. I never had to go anywhere for Breakfast , lunch or dinner. Denny's has always had Great food but service usually lacks. Yes there service here was also a little lacking but not awful.

    « Good Stay »

The room was clean. The dog prices were very good and helpful when traveling to two large breed dogs. I would stay at this location. The only issue was the Danny's on site was out of a lot of different foods so we had to order delivery

    « Hotel review »

Being able to walk to King's dominion was a plus. This hotel met my expectations. Yes, a refrigerator, microwave, breakfast & queen size beds would have been better. The employee's were most helpful .The price was worth it to how close we were to King's dominion park.

    « Nice stay »

When we first checked in the staff was friendly however not too informative. We went up the wrong staircase and smelled urine on the side of the building. We were ready to run, however we figured we would check out our room. The room was no frills but clean. The house cleaning did a great job the whole time we were there. Overall the staff was pleasant and the location of the hotel was very convenient so it met our needs. The amenities outside ex: pool, ping pong, etc. was very nice. We are glad we gave it a chance.

« Hotel great, Denny lacking »

Friendly staff. No problems with the room. The adjoining restaurant, Denny's. Not friendly, rude and foul language. Asked my husband to wait 20 minutes to fill an order of drinks. Will not eat there or utilize any of their services.

    « Kings Dominion Fun »

The hotel was nice. It was amazing how close to the park it was. The only reason I traveled to VA was for the theme park and to have it in walking distance was great. The shuttle over to the park was a huge plus. It was also nice that we didn't hear any park noise once we were back at the hotel. I would not eat at the Denny's. I don't know why it would take an hour to cook pancakes when we were one of maybe 8 customers in the whole restaurant. We walked out. The hotel room wasn't as clean an it should have been. We found empty water bottle tossed behind the lamps and the bed sheets had stains on them. Since we didn't clock in until 11:30 p.m., nothing was said but I made sure the sheets were changed the next day. Overall, it was a nice trip.

« Best Western - Kings Quarters - Doswell, VA »

No extra linens for the sofa bed - I got them from the front desk only to have the maid take them the next day. Outlets did not work - plugs feel out of them. Digital TV stations did not work (ABC, CBS, NBC, TNT and USA) I reported the problem and was told it would be fixed only to return to my room in the evening to find out it wasn't fixed. Very noisy - people outside of their rooms hanging out until 1AM and one family brought 3 dogs with them.

    « Weekend Getaway »

Extremely clean and comfortable; wonderful pool and evening hours for relaxation. Really enjoyed the accessibility to the amusement park 3min walk across the parking lot. The staff is very friendly and go out of their way to make sure you have a wonderful experience.

« ok for a night but move on after that »

The employees were the best part of the place. They were great. Hotel needs updating but is clean. Old AC units are noisy, and room smells from dampness. However, it is very close to the park. I got the room on Priceline, for much less than the going rate. My main issue was that once I got the room, I called to confirm and was given a room assignment. On the day of my check in, I called again, to let them know I would be a late check in. At that point, I was told that the person I spoke to was not authorized to assign me a room since I got it through Priceline. So, my rooms were given to other people, and I had to take what was left. The woman I spoke to was helpful; she put me near the other room, and arranged for the rollaway bed. However, I think it was pretty cruddy for my room to just be canceled once it was assigned. Would I stay here again? No. But, it was a comfortable and clean room. You get what you pay for.

    « Overpriced for quality »

I was rather disappointed in the quality of the rooms we had- we had two adjoining rooms. One had two doubles, the other was supposed to have a king bed and pullout sofa- it did not, so my son had to sleep on a chair b/c they wanted to charge an extra $15 for a rollaway bed on top of the already high price. One room had a broken table. Both rooms had lamps with broken shades. Cigarette burn in comforter of one bed (of these two supposedly non-smoking rooms!). Both rooms smelled really musty. There were cobwebs in the corner of my shower. No toiletries were provided save for one small bar of soap- there were dispensers in the shower for shampoo and soap, but both were empty. We had great service at the Denny's on property, but they were so backed up it took quite awhile for our food to come out. The property needs a major update overall. Price is just jacked up b/c it's next to King's Dominion.

    « Awesome stay »

After a long drive we were very pleased to have Dennys right there to have some dinner...the bar is also a nice convenience the pool was sparkling clean as well as the out side sitting area/ The 24 hour game room is very nice...the hotel itself is older but well maintained...our room was very clean at arrival and housekeeping service was on top of things. The best part is the very short walk to Kings Dominion...I guess they have a shuttle as well but after waiting 30 min we just walked....we never had to leave the place because everything you need is right on the property...well worth the 128.00 I spent for 2 nights!!!

« Perfect if visiting Kings Dominion »

If visiting KIngs Dominion this hotel is perfect with free shuttle service or you can easily walk, it's that close. A very clean hotel, staff were friendly and if your hungry there is a Denny's on property. They have plenty of activities on property, big pool, ping pong table, shuffle board, playground, and more.

« Horse Show vs Kings Dominion »

This motel is usually reasonably priced...however...this time we thought it was well over average prices. We were charged a resort fee and we used no resort amenities. We were not there to go to Kings Dominion Park.....we simply needed a room to sleep in while attending a nearby horse show. They should have prices for that type event vs high prices for Kings Dominion convenience.

« This hotel did not honor my reservation! »

Regarding Best Western Kings Quarters: I reserved my hotel room online, months before arrival. When I got to the hotel on Sat. night May 28, 2016, the people at the front desk said they had no record of my reservation and they asked for paperwork saying that I had a reservation. I immediately supplied the paperwork, complete with reservation number. Then they said there had been a problem with my credit card, and that they tried to contact me about it, and then they cancelled my reservation. However I received no call, message or email from Best Western about any problem with my reservation. On May 28th after they failed to honor my reservation, I left the building and searched for a different hotel. The next day I complained by calling Best Western corporate customer service, and after a few days, they called me back and said there is nothing they can do to compensate me. The hotel staff called me on the phone after they learned of my complaint, and during the call the hotel staff (1) said they were sorry, and (2) said they had done everything correctly. Needless to say I am Peeved with a capital P and I will not be booking in the future at a Best Western hotel. I was treated poorly, for sure. This has never happened to me before when I reserved a hotel online, and I am a frequent traveler. Best Western lost a steady customer!

« Kings Quarter Best Western - Doswell Virginia »

We requested adjoining rooms when reservations were made more than a month prior to arrival. The request was repeated when we confirmed the reservation a few days prior to arrival. Upon arrival, we were given a room that adjoined to another room but not to the room given to our son and his family. We requested that the rooms be changed but were told that this was not possible and that side by side rooms were the best that they could offer. It was important to us that our young grandchildren could visit safely between the two rooms without having to walk outside their room. Each day when we returned to our room at mid-day to rest, our key cards had been deactivated to both rooms. We had to walk back to the office with tired and sleepy children to get new key cards issued. The first evening of our stay, my grandson was getting a bath when a huge black spider fell out of the ceiling into the bath water. Both grandchildren were scared to bathe afterwards. We were told that the shuttle buses ran every 20-30 minutes. On several days we had to walk to the park because the bus never showed up. On the last day of our visit the pool was supposed to open at 9:30. At 11:00 when we had to check out, the pool had not opened. The grandchildren were extremely disappointed.

« Messy rooms, unwelcoming reception »

The only good thing about this hotel is its location. You can walk to the King's Dominion for a 3 minutes walk and save on your parking, but nothing else! Rooms are awful, bedding is old and it smells bleaching inside the room. We ended up keeping the door open for a while to be able to stay there.

« good deal with dogs »

clean hotel, comfortable with good room deals in local travel guides Limited food options at this exit, only Denny's on site, BK and quickie mart > which looked like it had good fried chiken Not the best stop for foodies or thos looking for gourmet experiences

    « An inexpensive stopover »

This is a simple basic motel. It is fine for an overnight stay. It's clean, the bed is fine, the room had a refrigerator as well as a flat screen TV. There is a very small "business office" to check emails. There is plenty of onsite well lite parking.

« If you want internet, do not stay here »

I stayed here 2 days for a race at King's Dominion and it was the closest to the park. This hotel is what you would expect from a budget family hotel. No frills, clean, a slight smell of mold, right across the street from Kings Dominion. The front desk people are friendly and welcoming, I talked with Justin by phone and in person, he was very helpful. Really this is an average budget hotel that I would normally give 3 starts for what it is, but because my 2 day stay I had no internet it gets only 2 stars. When I called the office they said it was probably because of the rain, but it didn't rain the entire time I was there and still no internet. There is a 7-11 nearby and a Denny's attached which I did not visit. Would I stay here again? No.

« Going to NY for the summer »

Ideal stop befween days on the road for an old man and an old small dog. (I choose Best Western because you welcome Tessie (the dog) and you offer smoking rooms.) I have stopped at the King's Quarters for years, especially during the 2012-2013 period when I was running back and forth between FL and NY to get my beach house repaired after hurricane Sandy.

« Less than we expected »

I should preface this by saying we were only in the room maybe 5 hours as a sleep break on a road trip from NC to PA. As a hotel placed at an amusement park entrance, we expected more of an upscale lodging. This particular property is showing its age. The stair bannister is loose, the mattress provided very little support, the shower temperature fluctuated wildly, the bathtub was scratched and chipped, and there were insufficient electrical outlets to accommodate our two phones and a CPAP machine. It's a satisfactory place to stay if you're not picky and in a hurry.

    « A happy returning customer »

On my way from Connecticut to North Carolina, this is the ONLY place I stay at. At 5 am I grab breakfast, then snuggle into bed. They accommodate you if you get in late/early and have a 1 PM check out. I love them! This place is comfortable and reasonable. I love it.

    « Kings Dominion weekend »

We had a good stay, the room was small with two double beds and a couch, other than the lack of outlets to charge devices it was pretty nice, the pool was clean and had good hours with a bunch of other outdoor activitys like tennis and ping-pong, the staff were great..

    « Needs Updated »

Noisy in the mornings due, staff not very friendly at serving you, restaurant is nasty dirty. Bed not soft, would be okay if you like a very firm bed. Rooms need outdated, no outlets available for cell phones or tablets.

« Not bad, but not great »

The price and proximity to Kings Dominion, as well as free wifi make this motel worth it. There is a pool, tennis court and a Denny right on the property and within walking distance to the park. if you looking for cheap and convenient this is it, but don't expect a whole lot.

« Excellent staff! Great bank for the buck. »

The staff was AMAZING! On the phone and in person everything was top notch. Room was comfortable and clean. Nothing but love for this hotel (but, keep in mind, it is an amusement park destination and we were there off season). I was concerned about it being too rowdy to get some sleep considering it's location and Rebecca, the front desk person who took our reservation over the phone, paid special attention to our needs and gave us a perfect room. Thanks to everyone there, including the late night Denny's staff!

« horrible stay at the best western »

Couples weekend for Kings Dominion, stayed at the best western had toilet problems, water build up in the shower, beds were uncomfortable, rooms were ok. When asked for towels to be brought to our room the person delivering them was smoking so our towels smelled like smoke. attendants at front desk were friendly upon checkin but when I called to complain they were rude. I would not recommend this hotel. In future visits we will be staying elsewhere.

    « Pleasantly Surprised :) »

Stayed here in late March 2016 while my teenage son and I visited Kings Dominion and downtown Richmond for 2 days during our spring break. We had a great stay! I wasn't sure what to expect after reading some of the reviews but everything went great! Our room was nice. The hotel is a little dated but was clean and tidy. There was lots of staff around cleaning, repairing ,etc. The hotel was very family oriented. Staff was friendly. Check-in was great, we were even able to check in early around 12 (I really appreciated that) since our room was ready and we were heading to Kings Dominion for the day and wanted to be able to park at the hotel and walk over. It was a really short, easy walk to the front gate. In the evenings we really enjoyed the game room and playing ping pong outside in the courtyard. I think this hotel would be a blast in the warmer months since there is a pool and lots of out side activities. You can't beat the price and I would be willing to pay more in the warmer months. We ate at the on site Denny's for breakfast both days and the food and service was great! I would recommend checking this hotel out and I will definitely stay here again if we are in the area!

    « Excellent Service »

Hospitality at its best! A mesmerizing hotel with unparalleled service and comfort with style; a hotel for all types of stay - business, family, kid's friendly, friends, etc. Check In and Check Out Was great. outdoor pool is very impressive and helpful staff. overall great and great.

    « Great Stay »

Our stay was very comfortable, rooms are nice and very clean, they have all the facilities, check in and check out was quick and efficient, all staffs were very friendly and helpful. We will surely recommend this hotel, thank you, keep up the good work.

    « Snowbird traveler »

Excellent stay ! Beautiful vista of King`s Dominion. The Eiffel Tower view is a nice touch (takes me back to when I`d take my kids to King`s Dominion). The location is convenient to Route 95 travelers. Would advise staying on side opposite of access road or in the inner court. Oh, the on site Denny`s is open 24 hours and the staff there are quite personable. I will stay there again.

    « great location »

Denny's was great. Beds were fair ...smelled like smoke in room. No clean bleach smell in bedding. Location was awesome...staff friendly and helpful. Kings dominion so close.. The check in was simple and quick. Parking great. No guide on the tv though, did not like that. Over all the stay was just ok

    « King's Dominion Visit »

Nice hotel to stay in that's convenient to King's Dominion. Will stay there as long as I'm visiting the amusement park. Free shuttle to/from the park is great. I came during a time that it was a bit chilly outside so I was happy I was able to check into my room at 9:30a instead of waiting until 4p. But I know once the weather breaks that'll be hard to do.

    « nice staff & convenient location »

the check in staff were awesome! I enjoyed a cozy room with my 6 and 4 year old kids. I was able to conveniently park my car for NO additional charge all day while we enjoyed the park! The entrance to the park is just a short walk through the parking lot if you choose to walk, which we did. there is also a bus that will pick you up at the front door of the hotel and take you to the front gate of the park. thanks to all.

« Great place to stay! »

We were traveling with friends. We had 1 preteen & 3 teenagers with us. They took full advantage of the tennis courts & game room. The rooms were clean & inviting. The staff was great! They allowed us to leave our car at the hotel while we went to Kings Dominion even though we had already checked out. They offered a shuttle to KD but we were so close, we just walked over. We will definitely stay here again.

    « Enjoyed our stay »

We make a trip at least once a year to our Families in Pennsylvania and stay at Best Western Kings Quarters, Doswell, Virginia...this is our "half-way" stop for the night. This trip this year was exceptional as we decided to go with a larger room that had everything including a Sofa/bed that worked out just perfect for our family. I must say the improvement in their rooms is more rug just a nice hardwood floor and the bathroom update(s) are great! We stayed going to PA and coming back and asked if we could have the same room and we got it...Thanks to everyone at motel....You people are Awesome! We will recommend your Motel to our friends when they travel. Jerry & Judy D.

    « Should really be 2 1/2 stars... »

Other than being right outside of Kings Dominion, I wouldn't recommend staying here. It's not the worst hotel/motel ever but it's definitely not the best either. Pillows are tiny and the beds aren't comfy. Check-in was ok but to eat anywhere other than Denny's you have to travel 10 mins down 95. No lights in the bathroom that we could find and the shower had zero water pressure. Granted it was $50/night so hard to complain but next time I would stay somewhere else and drive the 10 mins or so to KD.

« Perfectly average Best Western »

Stayed here one night in February for a robotics tournament and found the place perfectly typical of a Best Western. Check-in was a zoo because the entire tournament finished for the day at the same time and hundreds of families descended on them at the same time. To their credit the front desk people moved as quickly as they could to get us all checked in. They weren't the happiest of staff but they moved the line as best they could. The room I had was large and clean. It faced the interior courtyard and the bed and shower were just fine. Those are my two key items. The hotel is away from the railroad tracks which abut several other hotels nearby. Folks who stayed there talked about being woken up all night as trains rumbled through their rooms. There's a Denny's on the property for a quick breakfast and the checkout process was very quick and easy.

Rooms dirty, Beds soft. Good location if going to King's Dominion in season. Only thing good was price and a Denny's (food was tasty and reasonably priced) on the property. I would not stay here again even if free.

« Good place to stop »

Handy location off the I95. Denny's on site. Amusement park was closed but it would be a good place to stay if you have kids. Outdoor pool on site also. Room was clean and comfortable. No noise could be heard from other units. Nice to park in front of our door. Front desk staff was friendly.

    « cleanroom . »

I like to have a room that you can trust has been cleaned properly. Thanks for going the extra mile. As you might know market place did some investigation on rooms being cleaned and it was not too good.

    « Run Down »

This hotel was inexpensive, but it really needs some TLC. We had no hot water the first night. The second night it was lukewarm without mixing any cold in. Carpet was ripped. They do allow pets at no charge, which is a plus, but there are other, nicer pet friendly hotels. Would not stay here again.

« great location and clean hotel with good snowbird rate. »

great location off of 95 for snowbirds. Breakfast in motel was adequate and a coupon was provided at checkin which really helped. Room was clean and quiet. Will definitely stay again if in the area and recommend to others. .

    « Snowbird at King`s Quarters (Doswell) »

This is a convenient location just off of Rt 95 situated adjacent to King`s Dominion theme park. The vista from the room - KD`s Eiffel Tower reinforces the feeling of being in a special place. The property is staffed by folks who are friendly, helpful and enjoy making guests feel like they are at home. I have stayed at King`s Quarters (Doswell) before and that experience brought me back. They have a Denny`s that is open 24 hours on the property with good food and everything on the menu is available all the time. Worth a stay.

An excellent motel and great staff. Good prices for Snow Birds! We always plan our trip to Florida to include this motel because of the quality of the room, the availability of Denny's and near by gas pumps so that we can fill up before starting out on our journey. The staff are well trained and very courteous.

    « Quiet Stay »

I really want to thank the staff here, a family member had surgery and needed a couple of days of rest and this was the perfect place to stay. It was comfortable and quiet. Please thank all of your staff for me.

« Right outside your window you can see Kings Dominion »

We stayed here before going to the rabbit show the next day. The staff was pleasant and helpful. Room was clean but bathtub was dated and the toilet ran all night. There were black spots on my sheets and pillow cases. They rubbed off easily and left smudges. Denny's is right next door and you can walk there. Would probably stay here again.

    « Terrific value »

Our stay was brief as we were traveling the I95 corridor. This place was an exceptional value...clean, well-kept and friendly and helpful employees. No breakfast, but a $10 gift card for the on-site Denny's.

    « Expectations exceeded! »

My boyfriend and I intended to stay here for 1 night, and we ended up extending our time there. We drove from Pittsburgh, PA as soon as our semester ended for a get-away. The staff promptly checked us in for our post-midnight arrival. It was fantastic not having to drive to King's Dominion the next day (or pay for parking!) after our long trip; we simply walked across the lot to the main entrance! After a long day at the park, we relaxed and had a quick bite at the inter-connected Denny's. We then decided to extend our stay because of the amenities and nearby attractions. The front desk personnel easily made this happen in a matter of minutes. It was rather quiet around the hotel, and we enjoyed playing tennis and ping-ping pong in our down time. I fully recommend this hotel for families looking to fill their time with fun activities, and will certainly patronize this establishment again, when I return to the area.

« Helpful at check in »

Front desk staff was very accommodating and friendly. Room was clean. Denny's restaurant was attached. The decor needs a total update. Food was fine. This is next to King's Dominion and is probably expensive in summer but winter rate by using coupon from Welcome Centre is the best way to go.

    « The Best Surprise »

What a lovely surprise to find this lovely hotel in quiet Doswell. The décor, the comfort of the room and the great staff was quality all the way. It was lovely to have a Denny's Restaurant attached; they served great food and were very attentive.

    « Family Fun »

The family and myself had an awesome time staying at the Hotel and on the property of Kings Dominion. We left the Hotel with complete confidence that our stuff would be safe and secure and that if there were any issues they would of been handled quickly by the very nice and helpful staff. we felt welcome. And the restaurant at the Hotel was perfect with food and service.

« Filthy, broken down, smelly, bugs and damp! »

The place was dirty, broken down, damp, smelly and really just very uncomfortable and disgusting. There were also fly's and mosquito's in the room. We took photographs of just how horrible and shocking the place was in order to report them so they could address the problems. The first room smelled so badly we had to get another room and that one was horrendous. The chairs were really very filthy and lamp shades full of holes, furniture all chipped and cracked, rugs smelly damp and dirty, shower drain clogged and drain came off. Bugs, smells and just horrid. The staff uninterested and just a bad experience on every level. After driving for days and tired the last thing we needed was a broken down, smelly, damp and filthy room! NEVER EVER AGAIN!

    « A Happy Customer »

A short, but enjoyable one-night stay. The room was clean, the staff was pleasant and the food was good at the Denny's located on the property. The price was better than most of the other hotels in the immediate area. Was particularly impressed with the helpfulness of the front desk casher and her concern for my medical condition. Would recommend without hesitation.

    « Near Kings Dominion »

You are about a 5 minute walk to Kings Dominion from the hotel. The hotel is installing new locks/keys. Had a problem with mine. Had to get another key. The room was somewhat "musty", in that, it needed to be aired out or something. The hotel appears to have been there for a while because you can see where work needs to be done. In my bathroom, there was separation between the tiles and the tub. Needs caulk. Also in the bathroom, the ceiling tiles were separated. The room size was average but the beds were comfortable and did sleep well. The walls to the next room[s] are paper thin and you can hear the slightest conversation and/or noise from the adjacent room[s]. Next door is a Denny's, so if you want breakfast, you have to go next door. There is also an outdoor pool.

« Good place to stay on a driving trip »

We stay here when we drive from Miami to NJ and back. It is near Kings Dominion Park so I do not know how it is during the busy summer season. The motel is clean and the beds are fine. The signage to the motel is hard to see if you arrive when it is dark.

« Nice Get Away to Kings Dominion »

We have stayed at this Best Western before and have loved it. It has a lot to offer. There is a Denny's on site, a game room, a small lounge, pool, outdoor activities during the summer, very friendly staff. And is within walking distance of Kings Dominion.

« Great Location for Kings Dominion Fans »

The room was great. The King Sized bed was comfortable and they give you plenty of pillows. We could hear the heated conversation of the next room's occupants. The bathroom was very small and there were not a ton of outlets for our chargers but those are very minor complaints for a nice room. We usually stay at the Country Inn and Suites but they were a full $40 more expensive per night during a busy Halloween Haunt weekend at Kings Dominion. The front desk team was very nice.

« Family Trip to Kings Dominion »

Pros: - friendly staff - fairly responsive to maintenance needs - 5 min walking distance to KD (avoid $15 parking at KD) Cons: - $13 rollaway bed fee - room was supposed to be nonsmoking and wasn't. It smelt of smoke. I'm highly allergic and was able to air it out enough to survive but wouldn't suggest it to others who strongly prefer nonsmoking rooms - not in the best part of town - high traffic area, traffic from KD, etc - barely lit public areas, kinda creepy at night - door doesn't fully close by itself so be sure to double check it when you leave - doesn't provide complimentary shampoo, conditioner, etc in room. They have dispensers on the wall of the shower for shampoo and conditioner but both were empty in our room, so be sure to bring you own - WIFI goes in and out - only 30 TV channels available - doors are exterior so you hear everything (traffic, noise from the tennis courts and playground, etc) All and all you get what you pay for.

« walking distance to Kings Dominion »

stayed on Friday Oct. 23, 2015, read the reviews but stayed again room was clean and nice bed, room was a little musty smelling but not too bad. I thought it was a bit overpriced total $108 could be a bit cheaper, the workers at the front desk were nice. Will saty again

    « Awesome Stay »

All hotel and restaurant staff very friendly. Everyone went out of their way to accommodate my needs. Grounds beautiful and rooms very clean. The beds were extremely comfortable. Linens were very clean. This place is a must stay for any road trip through that area.

« We were on a school club trip »

We enjoyed our stay. The room was comfortable and clean. The shower faucet was a little hard to get adjusted to the proper temperature-it kept slipping from really hot to really cold during use. The beds were very cozy and the hotel is in walking distance to King's Dominion Theme park..there is a Denny's on site that is open 24/7

    « Great for families »

Our family always stays at BW Kings Quarters whenever we visit Kings Dominion. It's so close and has great amenities for when we need a break from the park. Also only one exit away from great restaurants.

    « Review »

My wife and I had stayed at a Bestwestern in Stafford, Virgina and traveled south on I95 and stopped at this motel. We travel with two small dogs and discovered that this motel is pet friendly. There is no charge for pets. The desk clerk stated that the room charge was $101, however, if I had a motel coupon book there was a coupon for the room for $58 and I had a coupon and with tax the room was $69, instead of $101 plus tax. Veyt large two story motel, with exterior doors and you can park by your room. Parking lot and motel very clean. All motel employees were very friendly and helpful. Room was fully equipped and was clean. No free breakfast, however, there is a Denny's Rest on site. Would recommend this motel

« Quiet place to stay »

Our room was closest to I95, but there was no problem with road noise at all! Very clean room, and good internet access. We really appreciated that Denny's restaurant was within walking distance of our room, actually situated between two wings of the U-shaped hotel. I'm sure the property would be much busier and noisier during the summer season, as it is immediately adjacent to Kings Dominion theme park!

    « A lot of unexpected amenitites »

For a typical discount motel, this place has a lot more than I expected. We stopped overnight on a road trip. I was surprised to find everything they had. There was a decent sized bar, a 24 hour Denny's, tennis courts, shuffleboard, ping pong, a pool, and other outdoor activities. It also has a very large area to walk dogs. There were a lot of people out on the patio of the bar having a good time. Every worker there was also very, very friendly. The rooms were about what you would expect from a place like this. They could use some updates, but you get what you pay for. Overall, I would say this is a good place to stay, and the employees are excellent.

« Pet Friendly is Not Always a Good Thing »

Our room had a very strong smell of cat urine. The front desk changed our room right away but the 2nd room had a musty odor. We were very tired since we arrived late so we stayed in the room. The wall plugs were very old and our smart phone chargers wouldn't stay plugged in. I had to charge our phones in the car the next morning. The same problem in the morning with the hair dryer and curling iron cords. They just kept falling out of the wall outlets.

« Just An Average Hotel »

Best Western is an average hotel that is adequate as home base to visit King's Dominion for the weekend. The rooms were clean and presented well although the interior and exterior of the hotel and rooms is long overdue for an update. The onsite Denny's is a nice touch for an affordable meal for a decent size group or family that has spent all day at the park.
