This hotel was a very good price for our 2 night stay and is well located near the airport off the I-135. It was far enough away from the Interstate that there was no road noise. However, it is an old Best Western with smaller rooms, small windows with little natural light, and dark furnishings. The hotel needs a total renovation in order to be competitive with many of the newer hotel options now available in Salina. The staff were friendly and helpful and breakfast was mostly good, except for the pre-packaged bakery items all wrapped in plastic (unlikely to be fresh). I also noticed staff on their breaks congregating at the entrance and smoking - not a good look or a pleasant smell upon entry to the hotel.
Old and dated. If there are two people in the room really not enough electric outlets. There are 4 outlets under the desk. Yes under the desk so plan on getting on your hands and needs and plug in an extension cord. Extension cord because, standard Apple charge cords will not reach from under the desk to the top of the desk in order for you to place your device on the desk. It is 2024, they could update the lamps in the room with lamps that have USB connections. Also the sink is in the physical room, not the bathroom with toilet and tub.
Best hotel breakfast buffet I've ever had. Hotel staff were excellent and Very accommodating to our needs. We traveled with our husky and everyone at the hotel loved him. He enjoyed all the attention. They were very pet friendly and we would stay there again.
Wonderful place to stay! Highly recommend it. Pet friendly and has a great area to sit outside with your pets. Staff is very friendly and so helpful! The food is great and so much from which to choose. They have a great pool with a fantastic slide! We plan to return for a weekend and bring our granddaughter to enjoy the pool/slide!
My room was only cleaned up and fresh towels provided 2 days out of the 4 we stayed there. Trash was never removed. I don't live like this at home and don't expect to have to live like this when staying in a hotel/motel. We worked hard every day we were in Salina helping a brother-in-law recover from surgery by visiting him and maintaining his home, pets and yard. We returned to our room to find that it was not cleaned and the used towels were still on the floor. This was very disappointing. I won't stay here again. We have had great luck staying at Best Western Plus hotels but this one is not receiving my recommendations.
The breakfast at every Best Western Plus is amazing and that is why I only stay at a Best Western Plus
At 9 am housekeeping tries to come into the room. CHECK OUT IS AT 11AM!!!! There was NO apology by the housekeeper that tries to come in as she woke up EVERYONE including my 1yr old. This is completely UNACCEPTABLE. As I checked out, I let the front desk know what happened and that I would be going up the chain to either have someone's job or money back for the VERY inconvenience that we were caused during the stay. I while speaking to the front the manager AND the manager above him came out and all they could say was it's policy due to by 9am most rooms are checked out and the guests have left. I very uncomfortable after all that happened and due to that safety concerns I will not ever stay there again and will tell everyone I know to not stay there either.
I was very impressed with the staff being friendly and helpful. This did not seem to be forced or rehearsed, but a genuine attitude. While Best Western's tend to have excellent facilities, this attitude really made the Best Western Plus Midwest Inn & Suites stand out as a place to look forward to on our next trip.
This place was disappointing to me as we have stayed previously in very nice Best Western Plus motels all over-but we may as well stayed in motel 6. Overwhelming chlorine smell from the pool about knocked us over checking in. The rooms are very worn, scratched and tired. Bathroom was tiny and fixtures loose in wall. Hate the postage stamp pillows you get now instead of larger ones. Great rate here but you may as well pay a few dollars more and enjoy your stay instead of putting up with it. Found the quality of the condition of the hotels to be lacking for Best Western Plus the previous 2 nights stay in ID and WY and it is making me rethink my choices in the future where we'll stay for sure.
I would not recommend staying here, The water pressure was not the greatest and the pool/slide was either broken or it had to much chlorine. only some of the staff were nice and helpful. Check your receipts and bank often as they like to charge you for things you had already paid for.
The toilet was nonstop running no matter how much you jiggle the handle, the sprinkler on the walls was pulled out. Requested towels, sugar and late check out staff did not follow up or provide items. Breakfast was good not many options and lacked oatmeal or cream cheese for bagels. Pool was absolutely amazing the kids loved it!
Very nice older hotel, clean and comfortable rooms, breakfast was above average and the people were nice and helpful.
Internet did not work the first night we were there but was working by the next morning. Check in was easy and quick. Paper was under the door for check out which was nice because I needed a receipt and didn't have to stop at the desk for one.
This is by far the best cafeteria in all of the Best Western hotels. The lady at the cafeteria is always ready to help anyone and made sure that everyone is satisfied.
Good solid room. Too dim, and one nightstand lamp broken. Good breakfast. Receptionist young lady had zero interest in her job. Unhelpful. No warmth. Asked about fitness room, as sign said closed. Response totally unhelpful. Just "why doesn't anyone tell me anything?" Who was she asking? Asked about damaged non-functioning lamp in our room. Just "we don't have a way to fix it and we have no replacements." No I'm sorry. No sympathy. Just ... didn't... care. Good staff otherwise: breakfast, room cleaners, and the young man who figured out the fitness room.
This hotel is nice and clean. However the staff lies, will not honor reservation, charges to check in 45 min early; will not take BW reward points as reserved. Don't even try to make a reservtion--they won;'t honor it.
Conveniently located near many restaurant options. The pool is out of service, do phone if your primary purpose is to use the pool. There is a fitness room. The breakfast options included real eggs and fresh fruit. The rooms were clean, quiet, and spacious. The lobby is decorated with seasonal items, there are Valentines everywhere reflecting the staffs ‘ attention to detail. It would be a plus to sync a remote to the fitness room TV. I struggled and failed to do so.
Only a 1 night stay on the way back from Wyoming to Oklahoma. Room was large and very clean. Nice breakfast area with wide selection of good food. Check-in was quick and courteous. Enjoyed my stay and highly recommend.
Nice hotel. The rooms are clean and the beds and pillows are comfy. They serve a hot breakfast which was delicious. Lots of food places nearby. Staff super friendly. We stayed here twice within two weeks of traveling to Colorado and back home. The hotel is an older hotel, but don't let that stop you from staying here. We will be back on our next trip!
Day 1..Astaff member walked into our room unannounced while we in the room. The reason given by the front desk ended up to be untruthful. Day 2..we were locked out of our room twice! Day 3..checked out.
I was traveling with my dog so options were very limited. So happy to find this Best Western. They assigned me a room with easy access to the back door and dog area. There is a pet waste station and large grassy area. There was also a cute fenced in patio with benches and a grill, not an amenity I could use this trip but a nice place to visit outside. The room was clean and nicely updated. Bed was comfortable, the area was very quiet. Nowhere walkable for dining, but quite a few places within a few minutes drive. My only complaint (and this is very common) is the A/C unit was somewhat noisy. I turned the fan down to low and it was ok. The breakfast was good.
The hotel was very clean. The price was great and the room was a good size. Breakfast was fresh and delicious. The staff was very nice and made sure we had everything we needed. We would stay here again.
Reason to stay at this hotel was the Jacuzzi in the room and the pool & slide for the grandkids. Booked the jacuzzi room to show up and be told non of the rooms worked. Pool was closed for maintenance and told it would be opened in the morning. The pool NEVER opened. Grandkids and kids both disappointed. Family drove for hours to meet up for the weekend and unable to enjoy the amenities that the hotel offered. Very Disappointed.
The manager is not ready for the position. Lack of checking up on clean rooms, food inventory orders, safety issues, and most employees are all related? NOT a guest friendly hotel. The staff are marvelous, but when we're told the manager forbids tip jars for them?? All the other 4 hotels we stayed at had them and we gladly tip those deserving.
Stayed in Salina to attend 2 concerts at the Stiefel. Location is great. Friendly staff. Great breakfast with soft/fluffy biscuits. We didn't bring our pup, but might do so next time! Always have pretzels and water/coffee/tea in the lobby. Also pup treats! I wish they had a hot tub.
We had been driving all day, so it was nice to fine a clean comfortable place to stay. We didn't have children with us but the slide in the pool looked like it would be a lot of fun. Breakfast had a good selection.
Loved the amenities available here at a reasonable price. We traveled with our chi-weenie and the staff and their ability to meet the needs of our 17 year old, chi-weenie my husband and myself above the norm. The entire experience was awesome.
We made a last minute decision to stop for the night in Salina. Even at 3am, the desk clerk was very kind and accommodating. The hotel is very clean and the beds are very comfortable. We also arranged for late check out which was great.
I really enjoy this motel. It is on a quiet street but just off I-135. It is near restaurants and shops. The staff is helpful and friendly, The breakfast had a wide variety of offerings, eggs, bacon, yogurt, cereal … you name it. The entire place was tidy, and it was nice tonpark under a shade tree.
My seven year old loved the pool with the slide. I was grateful they had a few life jackets available. The room was clean and comfortable and the breakfast had a huge selection and was really good. We make this trip often and will definitely stay here every time.
Had a great stay with our dog. Hotel was clean and quiet. Breakfast was excellent - hot, delicious, lots of variety and everything was fresh. Had an excellent selection of healthy food and things we could take with us on the road. Staff was kind and helpful.
This hotel has the best breakfast that I've encountered on this trip and all the staff we met were friendly and accommodated me with what I needed and went above and beyond fore their hotel 10/10 would recommend
I would definitely come back again. The bed was very comfortable and I really got a good night's sleep. The room was clean. The pretzels and ice tea at the front desk were an added plus. I didn't use the pool but there were kids h aging a good time using the water slide.
We loved our stay at this hotel. We were able to fit our family of six comfortably in a suite room. The waterslide and pool were perfect for our family's needs. The complimentary breakfast featured premium items. Stuff were exceptionally helpful!
I had checked with the hotel prior to booking online about the slide and pool working and was told it would be. The day checked in the slide was being painted, and the next day it was down, and the pool area was cold and then the next day it was not even open. Very disappointed.
The room and facility was clean and comfortable. We were greeted in a friendly way and enjoyed the decorations in the lobby. The choices for breakfast were excellent and well stocked. Definitely would stay here again!
We will definitely stay here again. The room was very clean and quiet. It was a very good value for the price. It is a quality , clean and well maintained hotel in a good location. The hotel is close to restaurants and stores.
Friendly greeting at the Front Desk. Excellent full-featured breakfast. Large 2-bed suite. Excellent suggestion for dinner (Hickory Hut BBQ). The Front Desk person was a great ambassador for the hotel.
We love BW Plus Midwest Inn and Suites, as it is our go-to stop when traveling across Kansas. The clean, quiet rooms and the value is incredible! It is a few miles off of 70, but worth the drive, as we like staying off the interstate when we can. We've stayed here several times and the service is consistently great.
I am a very picky person and the ONLY thing I could complain about was that the pool was not working. They DID offer a pool across the street at there sister hotel but it was a bit inconvienent since it was so cold outside. The lobby was clean and smelled fresh. The rooms were updated and beautiful. They are pet friendly! We saw many dogs during our stay but never smelt the animals. It was a great Best Western Plus to stay in. I have stayed in some pretty nasty Best Western's.
Comfortable suite, room was clean. The staff was friendly and helpful. The morning breakfast was good items were for well stock and fresh. My only negative comment is that the elevator had a odd smell to it almost like a rubber smell. Otherwise I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.
You can tell the employees really enjoy working here, the hotel was decorated for Halloween in such a fun way, the breakfast and breakfast staff were awesome. Real scrambled eggs, clean, fresh. Quiet and comfortable.
This was a night's stay on a cross county trip from California to South Carolina. Everything at this property was very good. We were pleased with the room, the bed, and the staff. We would recommend this motel for your next stay in Salina.
This is our second time staying at this location. The room was roomy, comfy, and quiet. The breakfast was delicious and the staff very helpful. The desk staff was extremely helpful and welcoming. The location is great, too.
Property was well located. We arrived late, our room was ready and we had a good quiet nights rest. The pool is out of order, but we didn't come to swim. The host welcomed us and thanked us for being reward members. Will definitely return here.
This hotel seems overpriced to me, but in my experience, most places in Salina are. The room was fine. Common areas (hallways, elevators, etc) seemed unlcean and there was an unpleasant odor. But the continental breakfast was awesome. Lots of different things offered and all very good. The lady working the breakfast room was super nice too.
Staff went above and beyond for us during our stay!!! Even short staffed they handles all of our needs. Unfortunately the pool was not open but that happens so they pointed out some other places in town to go for fun.
With a vanity sink just above knee height, and curtains that cover-up the climate control unit when closed, forcing you to either close air flow with parking lights at night, or stifling darkness, the room was punctuated with a fiberglass patch filling a hole in the bottom of the tub, and bits of wall plaster falling on you as you shower. I did think the gas pump style lamp switches were pretty cool!
Traveling for three days and we got here and glad we did. The service was great and the rooms were clean. The only thing was the pool was out of order. Other than that it was a great place. I recommend this place if you want a clean and quite place to rest.
We stayed here on June 21, 2022. The room reeked of sweat and body odor. Unfortunately, we were desperate after being caught in a hailstorm or would have immediately moved elsewhere. The carpet was damp and stank. There were also a group of very large men hanging around that were intimidating. We travel with our dog so the only redeeming quality was that the hotel is pet friendly and has a grassy place to walk.
very smelly hotel, old and not clean. Hard stank everywhere, and even marijuana. the dining room is very small, breakfast is very poor. Stinks everywhere, I don't know how poor people work there every day. Service was not bad, stuff is nice.
While the hotel is a bit older than we first thought, the accommodations are extremely clean and comfortable. Staff were very friendly and welcomed us as soon as we walked through the door. They promptly processed our paperwork and advised us of the available amenities. Additionally, the hotel is located close to restaurants, stores and gas stations.
Rooms were not cleanest during our stay. There were notices left in the room that there would be additional charges, if you got makeup on the bedding. The staff was rude. The pool and ice machines were not working.
We found the hotel to be very clean and comfortable. Our king room was spacious with a desk/chair for working and another comfortable chair with ottoman. It has a sink and mirror separate from the toilet/shower which makes getting ready easy. Shower was good and they had a hair dryer, shampoo/conditioner in the room. Large flat screen tv was nice. Breakfast was good with lots of choices. Pool was not open due to maintenance issue. If pool is important call ahead to be sure it's open. Breakfast area is somewhat small (only about 8 tables) but staff is friendly and welcoming. Great location right off the highway with lots of restaurants nearby. Try Martinelli's downtown for good Italian food. Worth the short drive.
made me want to quit being a silver level customer. I knew I wanted a pool. Website said they had indoor heated. Upon entry signage and blackout covers said pool closed for renovations. Went to make up sofa bed..peanuts and related paraphernalia from previous customer in and on its pillows, framework and floor. Disgusting. Mel [front desk] saw it. Tried to fix..was too late.
Nice Hotel right off the highway. A few blocks away are several places to eat and shop. The rooms were nice and clean. The breakfast had plenty of choices. Friendly service and parking was close. I would stay again next time in the area.
I traveled for over 40 years with 15+ nights in hotels each month before I retired in 2021 and this hotel is possibly the dirtiest hotel I've witnessed! Bedding was worn, carpet filthy, and towels worn. The staff was so-so and breakfast area was ok. The pool was closed, fitness room open but again dirty. This may be the first hotel I've stayed at where I felt I needed a shower AFTER I left the room!
Room nice size but furniture not appropriate and not safe. No ice, no pool. Electrical in room a hazard. A handicapped person could not stay in this room without a lot of help because of fixtures and furniture.
My family and I stopped in for the night while traveling through Kansas. We found the room to be nice and clean. We chose a king room with a pull out sofa bed for the kids. Thank you for a pleasant stay!
Front desk was like a ghost town. Had to wait for someone to check in upon check out we finally gave up and left. We needed a receipt☹️ Room was very dated. Breakfast was ok. Parking lot and outer hotel is very very dark. When entering after dinner. This just was not what we have come to expect from our many Best Western Plus stays.
Every time my boyfriend and I travel we always forget to bring water… luckily this hotel has complimentary Lemon Water and Iced Tea in their lobby at all times which is very convenient. They serve a hot breakfast from 6:30-9:30 and I'd say it had everything I could've asked for. Bacon, eggs, waffles, bread/bagels, and MUCH more! BW is our go-to when we're looking for an affordable place to stay.
We arrived after 10 1/2 hours of driving in slick , snow packed conditions. We were given a choice of whick floor we wanted to stay on and also directions to my grandson's restaurant of choice. The front desk clerk was amazing both the morning and night clerk. Breakfast was good and we were satisfied with our complete experience here.
As soon as you enter the property you will be blown away with warm greetings, smiles and fresh beverages. I was accommodated by the front desk and house keepers when I had forgot to pack a few essentials.
First room dirty towel in closet, fridge full of literally rotting stinking garbage, rewuest new room. Second room bed unmade, large bags garbage. 3rd room fridge fill of leftovers, toilet lid and rim gross.
Clean facility with nice people. Easy to find and access is very close to I-35. The check-in / out was quick and easy. Lots of restaurants nearby. Stay away from Tucson's though. Slow service and high priced food.
This hotel had so many issues- there was dog poop or vomit in elevator which we reported to front desk but it was there the whole time. Room smelled like cigarettes. Shower had no water pressure. Stains of some sort on the curtains (I don't want to know what it was). Breakfast was a mess - old pizza in the microwave , only scrambled eggs and old coffee available, mess everywhere. I was afraid to eat anything. This hotel has major staffing/cleanliness issues.
Climbed into bed and quickly realized I was getting wet. Only to pull back the sheets and find the mattress pad had a wet spot on it. Further investigation led me to realized it was urine. Kamden moved us and comped us $20 and was very apologetic. But really this shouldn't happen if your housekeepers are doing their job.
The hotel room was lovely. Very clean and comfy bed. Unfortunately the pool was closed. One of the side exit stores was not working. The lock was actually torn off the wall. That made me nervous about the general location of the hotel and whether it was safe in the neighborhood or not?
We arrived late at night, very tired. Check-in was a little slow, but the clerk Andre' was VERY sweet & helpful!! He was new, we were told the next day that they'd had a complete staff change & were learning a new computer system. The room was very clean and comfortable, we would stay here again!! THANKS to Andre', McMiller and the Manager for being so kind and seeing that we had everything we needed!
The rooms are quiet. They offer ice tea and ice water in the lobby! The staff are so friendly. The bed was very comfortable. The internet was a strong signal. Although a way off I-70, very worth the extra miles! Glad we stayed.
The moment we turned into this Salina Kansas Best Western we knew it wasn't going to be good. Older Hotel, grass hadn't been cut for awhile. We had made reservations through Best Western Rewards and had enough points for a free nights stay. We checked in and was told this stay was Free. Later in the evening I checked my credit card charges over the last two days and noticed a charge of $34.60 for Econo Lodge, Salina KS at the time we checked into this Best Western. Thinking I had my credit card compromised, I called and had the account frozen. I called Best Western headquarters and asked if they may be affiliated with Econo Lodge and they answered, No. The next morning at check out I asked the front desk if they had charged my credit card and they said yes $34.60. I said this was a free stay from my Rewards. Asked why it was charged to Econo Lodge? Then after back peddling and showing the Best Western receipt with a Zero balance they gave me some crazy excuse of a third party billing? The only way they could have gotten my credit card number, as I didn't give it to them was to go into Best Western Account and charge my credit card for my free stay to a made up account of Econo Lodge. She admitted others had complained, too and all would be addressed by the Manager. The trouble this has caused is outrageous. I had no credit card to continue my travels and I have to wait for a replacement from the credit card company, which I have automatic payments for my utilities that need to be made. Something shady is definitely going on at this location. Beware!
Check in was a nightmare. I called Friday morning to reserve a room for that night. I wanted to use my reward points so I called to see what was available. Once I received the information I called customer service to book using my points. What they should was available was different than what the hotel showed. I booked a king and called the hotel back. Manager upgraded me to a king sweet for free. That was very kind of her. We drove for over 12 hours to get to the hotel and when we arrived that's when all fell apart. The hotel was booked but since I had reservations it was no big deal until she went to check me in and the room showed to be dirty and not yet cleaned. Mind you this is at 9:30pm. She went to look because she said they may have forgot to mark it off. When she came back to front desk she said it had been cleaned. We went to the room and the bed really did not look like it was made. It was just kind of thrown together like a last minute look. There was only one towel and wash cloth. My wife didn't think it was cleaned and questioned it. It wasn't till I was going to use the restroom I agreed with her. The toilet was a mess. There was urine and feces on the toilet seat. I called front desk and told her what we had found. She was so embarrassed and asked me to hold tight till she found another room. I questioned her because when we were checking in she turned 3 people away saying they were full. She called her manager and they offered me the dirty room at the rate of $69. Really!?! It's dirty and they thought I'd accept this? Why would I agree to pay when I had already booked using my reward points?? They had a double queen they were going to put me in but when the gentleman at the desk went and looked it too was dirty. We ended up in a king jacuzzi suit. We had to go back to the desk twice because the keys wouldn't work. In the end we were not supposed to charged for the room nor was my points supposed to be used. Now there is a charge pending my account for $140.00 so we will see. I haven't looked but I also bet my reward points were used. I have called the hotel twice but still waiting for a response. We'll see. Not what I'd expect from the Best Western brand or a Best Western Plus! This is something I'd expect to run into in a old ran down hotel and that's why we don't stay there. We only stay with Best Western.
The new Manager came up through the ranks, starting in another location in Housekeeping. She is doing a Great Job. The facility looks great, everyone is attentive to what ever your needs might be. The place st stay in Salina, KS.
The hotel appeared to be newly renovated. I was shocked when I was told it was not. So, that means the only other option is that is very well maintained. The staff is very professional and positive. May make Best Western for my go to hotel for future travels.
I do not live far from Salina, but when I travel there I like to stay and take in all the fun things to do in Salina. Love Cozy Inn!! I always stay at Best Western. Previously the hotel seemed run down and not well kept. Rooms were mediocre. I talked with cleaning staff and they said they didn't have the supplies needed but needles to say, the stay was enjoyable. This stay was not only enjoyable, it was comfortable and clean. I love the outside sitting area under shade trees. I felt safe in the hotel and around the hotel. Staff was smiling and joking with each other. I was met with a smile and warm greetings. The hotel was clean and the room was amazing. I talked with cleaning staff again and asked what changed. They mentioned they had a new General Manager who is amazing to work with and they stated changes are being made in a good way. I am looking forward in seeing what this new manager is going to do. I definitely will stay here again!
I stayed at this location over a year ago. When planning the trip this hotel is the first to come to mind because of the great experience we had last time. Plus, we were introduced to one of our favorite BBQ places, Hickory Hut. The feel of the environment walking into the hotel lobby made me think twice about checking in. Emily came off rude, not even sure if she meant to or not. We went to dinner, and coming back through the lobby you could hear her phone conversation and lets say its not appropriate to repeat on this review. The manager in the morning, I think her name was Vanessa. couldnt get us out fast enough. She came off as we were bothering her in the middle of her phone call. Just wanted our receipt. The only eye contact we got with her was my husband told her to have a nice day and she rolled her eyes. Going to have to pass on this hotel next time I come through...
My grandson and I stopped at this location for the pool. We had enjoyed it last year on our way to Texas. Once we entered and began check in, we were informed pool was closed, but everyone else's in the neighborhood is open. (I called and checked. Since my room was prepaid, I was told that I couldnt cancel the room. Thats fine. I specifically asked for a non pet room. Of course, when I check in, their is pet hair in the couch, mattress was stained on couch and the microwave was dirty. (Covid clean my rear) I ask to speak with the manager the next morning and as I am letting her know my grievances, she continued to roll her eyes and kept looking at the man sitting in the lobby. All she can say is she is sorry and there is nothing she can do cause I booked through a "third party." Our trip last year to this establishment was nothing like this at all!!! Will never stay here again!
We make this our regular stop when we do our cross country travel. Granted, we understand everything with the new "normal" but still found issues with our rooms. It was not like this when we stayed 6 months ago. We asked to speak with the Manager, Miranda. We kept getting the run around. Finally, asked one of the housekeepers who has the same name (lol) and she informed us that the other Miranda was promoted to Kansas City and the lady we spoke to at the front desk was the new general manager. Why would you lie to a guest? She passed all the blame on her housekeepers and stated "good help was hard to find" Not professional at all. From now on, we are going to drive that extra two hours to someone who knows how to run a hotel. Very disappointed in the management change.
Room was dirty with a used wash rag hanging in shower. Pool was closed for the Rona yet the Marriot pool was not across the street. Sack lunch for breakfast was terrible. Glad I got a bottle of water and an apple.
We requested a room on the bottom floor but wasn't allowed because we were traveling with our Small dog. Dogs only allowed on the second floor of this establishment. Needless to say our overall experience was okay at best! The room reaked of dog urine !!! Their idea and mine are obviously different when it comes to deep cleaning! Wouldn't recommend this place if you have to stay in a pet room.
This was an overnight stay while traveling through the state. I was traveling with a friend but in my own room. Upon arriving I wanted to walk my dog and there was a shirtless man on the side of the building in a lawn chair with a cooler in the most obvious dog walking area. So we found another area. Later in the evening the same man was still on the property obviously agitated and talking loudly. The property parking lot and dog area is not well lit. When I tried to return to my room through a back door that is equipped with a key card entry I found that the door was propped open with a rock. I discarded the rock. Our final potty outing before sleep I found the same door propped again. This morning the same door was propped open but in a different way. That's a safety issue not just an inconvenience. Also TV, Microwave and fridge were all not working obviously on the same power strip or something. I wasn't going to use any of them and I had ice for a cold drink but I did call attention to them at the front desk. She said she would check it out and never came. No I convince to me but worth noting. I do have an expectation of basic safety if not much else in roadside motel. This location did not meet that basic expectation. Of note, I have been traveling the southwest for almost 3 weeks staying at a variety of different pet friendly lodgings and this is the first where I felt like safety was an afterthought.
For our experience, the evening front desk attendant, "Lily", was indifferent and unfriendly and needs a reminder of basic customer service. We arrived around 9:30 pm, Saturday June 26. We had a reservation. We began giving her our information when the phone rang. Instead of putting them on hold, she had us stand there for 6 minutes while she took their two reservations over the phone. She even repeated their credit card information out loud, twice. Common sense customer service: 1. First come, first served 2. Phone customers can be put on hold while the physical customer with a quick check in is completed 3. Don't say customer's credit card info out loud in front of other customers
Enjoyed our stopover at this remarkably clean and friendly Best Western. Beds were reasonably comfortable, showers hot, ac cool. But best of all is the staff. I use a cane and the clerk at the desk gave me the closest room to the lobby without me asking. Fresh coffee in the lobby is decent. The breakfast bags to go are a nice treat. Ours contained blueberry muffins, granola bars, Aquafina bottled water, an apple and peppermint candies. Big thanks to Charles. At checkout I was trying to juggle coffee, breakfast bags and my cane. He graciously carried my breakfast to the truck and wished me well with his great smile and warm personality. We will definitely stay here again.
We had an iPad from our room. My son left it there when we checked out. Using the locater Apple app we could tell it was there (it gives the exact address of the hotel, so we knew we'd left it). I called the same day as we checked out (Sunday), but it was nowhere to be found. The front desk said they would look for it, and assured us that the room had not been cleaned yet, & no one had access to the room besides staff. So, you'd expect it to be found since we could see that it was there, and the room had not yet been cleaned. On Sunday when I called, the day we checked out, we could still "see" through the Apple locator app that it was there at the hotel. I called once we realized it had been left, and they said that it could not be found. BUT - on the next day the locator app changed from the hotel address, to "No Location Found." This indicates that someone had it and and erased all of the settings or turned the "location services" off. It was a gold 128GB iPad in a black "folio" case that my son got for Christmas from his grandparents. We know that it was left there, & exactly where & when it was left. But it's gone. Only hotel employees had access to the room, I was assured, yet we could see through the Apple tracking app that it was reporting its location at the hotel the day we left (Sun), and then not the next time we checked (Mon). We left it (which is totally his fault), but then it was stolen out of the room. He's crushed and had to learn a very hard lesson, and we are very disappointed that no one was honest enough to turn it in. We drive through and stay in Salina regularly, but for obvious reasons will have to choose another hotel (and yes, be certain nothing is left in the room!). Just disappointed that folks aren't more honest these days.
When I arrived at the hotel prior to check in a fire truck was at the front entrance. No fire but everything was disrupted, workers were not on duty at their regular times, Generally this hotel has staff that works well and everything is just so--disrupted workers covered for each other including the manager this time. Billing was to Econolodge which upset me so I called back. Handicapped room was good but upkeep on it has slowed. Breakfast as we know it was not available, maybe later they will have it back. Staff friendly and helpful.
Stayed here for one night on a "social distancing" road trip out west from Ohio. Although we typically don't choose "box hotels" near the interstate, we felt that it would be fine given that it was a Best Western, and would only be for one night anyway. Michel(l)e at the front desk was on a rather long call when I arrived, but kept giving me very apologetic looks for the many questions she was fielding from her caller. At one point she even mouthed, "I'm so sorry!" I grinned and waved at her not to worry. (I used to work at a hotel so I knew how that can be.) Once she was able to take care of my check-in, she did so quite efficiently. She was able to honor my last minute request for a first floor room, as I had forgotten to specify that when I made the reservation. Moments later we were in our room, pleased at not only its cleanliness but also its decor. (It wasn't a generic white like so many box hotels.) The hotel is next door to a Casey's, which is good for quick purchases, but also is right on the other side of the interstate from a host of other restaurants and stores. Due to the Covid emergency, all the restaurants were still only offering take-out or delivery, so we went to the store to get a few items we could eat later at our own convenience. For being so close (about 1/2 block) from the interstate, the hotel was not noisy at all. I heard no road noise, nor did I hear anything from other guests. Although the hotel was far from full, it did have a decent occupancy rate that night. I wouldn't hesitate to stay again if I happen to be passing through Salina.
Hotel is easy to find and across from a Casey's with many amenities near by. Everyone we came in contact with was very friendly. The lobby has fresh water tea and coffee all hours. This hotel seems to have been revamped but still need more TLC. The room needed to be clean again in my opinion, bathroom shower had hair and pink soap/shampoo all over the shower and floor mat that was hanging over the side. Toilet had yellow behind the seat from previous people. So I clean before we used any of it. Cabinet with fridge had sticky-finger spots and no they didn't clean our room the two nights we stayed. The pool was closed do to Covid but that seem good because I didn't want to tell my kids no more after seeing's how GREEN the water was and so much dirt and partials on the pool floor. Would we stay hear again as a family, nope!
A nice hotel with friendly staff that is located one block west from I-135 so there's literally no road noise to be heard from the southern facing rooms. The northern rooms face a city road. Shopping and restaurants are located close by on the opposite side of I-135. The wireless internet in our room was strong and easily accessible. A Casey's gas station and convenience store is available directly across the street. Easy off and on access to I-135.
We chose this hotel because the pool had a slide and it looked extra fun for a couple of teenagers traveling with me. Turns out, the slide was closed off and the pool was soooooooo unsafe. Pool was not filled properly. Tiles are missing, leaving unsafe dangerous cement beneath. Nasty water. Unsafe flooring. That whole thing needs to be condemned and closed down. Won't be back.
We always acknowledge people when we have good service. Best to tell them our selves. Always leave tip in Breakfast room to let them know ourselves. They are run off their feet by just watching work. Sometimes people are rude, & I say be polite can u do a better job? One person taking care of 50 people in breakfast room, at 6:30 in the morning. Can you do it, they reply NO.
We stayed here due to traveling through Kansas. It was right off I 135. The room looked very clean and looked like a fun indoor pool area with slide. no hot tub though. The mattress in our room should be replaced. Everything else was in working order, staff was very friendly, and above average BW free breakfast. Our stay was right around $100 for one night. I would return if I stop back through!
This hotel is clean, comfortable, and the employees are friendly. But the best thing is the location. It is right off of the interstate if you're going through Salina on your way to Wichita. But it isn't noisy there, so you will sleep well on the comfortable beds. Right across a small, not-busy street from the hotel is a filling station, so you don't have to drive far to fill your gas tank. Just a few blocks away you will find several different very nice restaurants and a Wal.Mart store. We got a discount on our price because we made our reservation directly with this motel rather than going through the Best Western's main website.
We stayed here for a family party. We have lots of little kids and wanted a place with a slide. BAD decision. Pool chlorine gases were very strong. Lots of coughing, burning eyes, etc. Lasted all night
This accessible room had plenty of room, staff was helpful, room decor was nice, Plenty of space for wheelchair however outlets were hidden and almost not accessible-behind desk and behind bed. Breakfast good and served hot, Snack service at the front desk, always iced tea and water in front lobby. Only problem is swimming pool drips are on the hall floor-so a wet floor sign on display.
The hotel is a nice comfortable place to stay, the rooms are cozy and quite and I felt very safe staying there. The bed was comfortable along with the couch that was in the room. The wifi worked really well.
Great We were traveling from Texas to Washington state. Becaywe have small dogs Best Western was one of the few that accepts them. The roads were awesome and pet friendly. The entire staff was awesome!
very clean and great staff Grandkids loved the pool and slide it was well maintained //Beds were comfortable not trouble sleeping// my granddauger used the pull out couch was a bit lumpy but not a big deal
Checkin was quick and easy. Cameron at front desk, very friendly. Clean room. Refrigerator didn't cool enough. The bed was very comfortable. Convenient to highway and restaurants. Good price. Will definitely stay there again.
Front desk staff extremely friendly and helpful. Breakfast free. Typical variety of food offered. Clean, quiet and comfortable rooms. This motel is conveniently located right off the interstate with restaurants very close.
We have stayed here twice on cross-country car trips with our dog. Everybody is always so nice and friendly. The breakfast is tasty, the beds are comfy and the rooms are always spotless. We always feel welcomed here. We will be back! Steve, Mike & Rudyard, NYC
The location is Ideal. Close to Interstate and one of Salina's major streets. Even so, it is quiet. Just a few blocks from any kind of dining one would want. Walmart is across the street and Sam's Club is close by.
Tracy at check in was very helpful and a doll. Tried to tell night audit of our issue at 4am when we were leaving. He acted as if we were a problem. Told him of issue with the heart tub not fully working. He said yes my manager knows. I'll write it down.was very disappointed. Hope it is fixed in 2 weeks when we return. Thank you
Except for the very bad live spider in the bathtub and the non concern by the front desk, every thing was what I would expect. Good location for on and off interstate. Good well lit parking. Breakfast was good with plenty of great choices.
Staff was really friendly, really the only complaint was with housekeeping we stayed 2 nights and we were given fresh towels but no fresh soap or conditioner. The folding bed didn't have bedding the staff gave us some but it should have been ready
Got away for a quick weekend for Christmas shopping and stayed in the jacuzzi room. It was nice and very quiet! Close to many places. Good breakfast. Although we didn't use it the pool had an amazingly cool looking slide! Our kids would have loved it!
Clean room. Friendly staff. Very good breakfast. This motel was able to check all my boxes to rate an excellent rating. If traveling to Salina again I would definitely return to this motel. Thanks for the experience
It was a great stay. Breakfast was good. most of the employees were very nice. the breakfast host was excellent as well as the front desk clerk. the only issue was the pool was freezing cold throughout our stay.
This property is away from the freeway traffic noise, but some rooms are located along a busy street. Our room was on the other side and quiet. The hotel lobby is really outdated. It must have been quite elegant at one time. We were surprised at the size of our room. The seating area even had a ceiling fan. When we first walked in the room, there was a musty odor like an old house. It wasn't too bad after being in the room for a while. The furnishings and decor was quite dated. The lamps even had these unique little levers that turned them off and on. The size and arrangement of the rooms are great. The location of the hotel is also nice. With some updating and a lot of paint, it would be a great place to stay.
Overall - very good stay, breakfast was good, staff was friendly. One negative however, staff needs to NOT smoke out front, even in parking lot. That's not the way to welcome especially non smoking guests.
I travel a great deal for work and stay at Many Best Westerns. This hotels exterior grounds appearance was dissappointing, not maintained well at all. The interior hallways had a spider web with an active spider in it, the room I stayed in had a hole in the carpet and cobwebs around the light fixtures. The bed was comfortable, but I do not believe I will stay here again until i can visibly see changes to the hotel.
Best Western Salina, KS. A great location away from the I-35 interstate noise, but easy to access the interstate. Large clean, comfortable room, with fluffy towels.Nearby were a large choice of restaurants plus a Walmart Super center.
Did a lot of driving on my recent trip, and it was a tremendous relief to check my AAA Booklet on a new region to me and find the same good quality, friendliness, and clean fresh room that I expected in the Book rating
Stopped in for a room. We got a 9beautiful room over looking the lake. Price was reasonable. Only disappointment was the fire pits were gas fuel, not wood logs. The hotel did not allow alcohol outside.
Hotel was clean and pet friendly. Thought $20 pet pet was a little steep for quality of hotel on top of the already higher room rate Liked that it was in a more residential area for walking dogs after long day on road Would stay here again breakfast was better than competitors in this market Normally have used la Quinta but will be replacing that with BW when both are older properties
The clerks was very frendly very help. The Breakfast was very good. The cold water and iced tea was very nice in the lobby. I wanted to pay with cash was told clerk couldn't take cash so I had to use credit card, I was able to cancel credit card the next morning and pay cash
This is not a hard to find motel but it does not face Schilling Road. So your GPS may give you some issue. The hotel is older but the place is very well kept. Room was large, air conditioning worked very well, and there were plenty of towels. Ice and vending is only on first floor but this is only a two story hotel.
If you need a quick overnite stop at a friendly clean hotel, with great beds and a super breakfast this is the place to book! Great front desk staff, located close to restaurants. Easy to find. Fireplace in lobby.
A stop over while traveling north. Great location right of highway, close to stores, gas, restaurants, and staff was courteous and very attentive. Signage off the highway could be misleading. Okay for overnight.
I like Best Western Plus Hotels as I always know that they will be exceptional experiences. Every Best Western Plus Hotels has the same excellent quality of service and cleanliness. My husband and I can always count on Best Western Plus!
When we pulled up to the hotel, I thought it was out of business. Grass and weeds were horribly overgrown! Came again a week later on return trip and... The grass had still not been touched. What on earth?! A place to shower and crash for the night but did have a musty smell and chlorine from pool smell was strong.
I was awakened from a sound sleep by someone opening my door scaring the wits out of me. Turns out it was a staff member who neither knocked or announced herself. Upon discussing with the Gen. Mgr she was only mildly responsive and offered no comp for the room or even rewards points. This was a very unnerving experience and warranted some type of comp...it was not like forgetting to empty the trash. Instead basically an uncaring attitude. You pay for a peaceful, restful and safe nights rest...not what I got and paid for.
The manager was wearing flip flops and rolled her eyes when I asked for a room that doesn't have mold in it. When I called her out on it she said “it's been a long day”. She brushed the mold off as dirt and even “tested it” on someone's skin that is severely allergic to mold. “If she breaks out in hives then it's mold.”
I already typed my comments in above. Poorly designed questionnaire. Lawn looked like it hadn't been mowed all year. Room had a musty smell and rug felt damp to touch. Dog walk area was unkempt and full of debris and a fallen down bird house.
Miranda and her team really go the extra mile to make you have a great stay. The pool has a slide and my kids love it! Emily checked us in and gave us great recommendations for food in the area. Miranda really is a delight.
we had an excellent room. No problems. Very brief stay but very pleasant. Arrived late due to weather and had a speedy easy check in. Everyone was very friendly. Breakfast was good and attendant very helpful.
We have stayed at this particular property two different times within the last 5 years. All we really hope for in a hotel room is that it is clean with a clean bathroom and a comfortable bed - we received top value with that - the decor of this hotel is a little tired and could use some updating - we would definitely not hesitate to stay here again if we were in the area.
Great place to stay with friendly staff and clean rooms, nice pool with a great slide for kids. Right by all your eating cravings and real close to Walmart. Would recommend anyone and everyone to stay here!
We had a family Wedding at 2:00pm. I requested if we could have an early check in so we could leave our dogs. The hotel had our rooms ready so we could and go to our Wedding! If we're ever in Salina again, we'll be staying here!
Easy to get to. Good and filling breakfast. Internet was fairly fast even with two of us using it at the same time in our room. Nicely decorated. Bed was firm, pillows could be improved. Easy parking.
We have stayed in various motels in Salina, Kansas. This is our first stay at this one. The room was clean and spacious. The surroundings were quiet. Facility looks to be well maintained. A good value. We will stay here in the future.
Poorly maintained and cleaned. No pride of ownership at all. Room was marginally clean but smelled strongly of dog urine. Business center out of order, guest laundry out of order, landscaped area had lots of weeds and trash. Door to outside from hallway not working properly. Door to pool not secured. Door to room didn't lock securely. Would not stay here again or recommend it to others.
While the Best Western Plus Midwest Inn & Suites was still undergoing renovations, you never would have known. From the moment we walked in we were warmly greeted by the staff and treated like royalty. Definitely would stay here again if we're in the area!
I stop at this motel due to its location when in area. I have stayed a few times. My only complaint is that check- in is very slow at night. Last year, I encountered the same problem with check-in. I still rate high because the rooms are clean, quiet and nicely furnished. The breakfast is satisfying. I will return again when in area. You can eat pretzels while waiting to check in. They also have lemonade and coffee available for the wait. Overall, you will be happy.
Great hot breakfast. Pillow top mattress made a perfect night sleep. Room was very clean. Traveling to Colorado. First visit to Salina. Enjoyed the stay and plan to return on the next trip. Great service.
Trip to Denver, stopped on way and on way home. First stay the room was smelly, like body odor. Bed was lumpy. Hot breakfast was not hot, gravy was cold. During check=out was not asked how stay was. Second night was a different room, smelled better and bed was comfortable, floor was dirty, found some pills on floor behind nightstand. Breakfast was same, cold gravy, bacon was closer to raw then cooked. Was just glad to leave and get breakfast elsewhere.
Jessie and Miranda were exceptional staff who were so helpful and professional. The room was beautiful and their full breakfast was nicely done. We recommend this Best Western as one of the better stays we've had in recent years.
Title says it all. Paid over a hundred dollars for a terrible night sleep, cold eggs and sausage and became ill for the next few hours of a 7hour drive. Don't waste your money, and save your tummy. Terrible customer service. $10 off for my troubles. We were there for 5hours!
My wife and I were very pleased with our stay at the Best Western Plus Midwest Inn and Suites. Clean, spacious room. Quiet and convenient. I enjoyed the fun slide in the pool (I'm 66). Good breakfast, plenty to choose from. Located in a quiet neighborhood.
This hotel was a little rundown. The pool was dirty and my kids' suits smelled after they got out. We booked 2 rooms because of the size of our family and upon booking I asked for the rooms to be as close together as possible. While we were in the same hall, we were at opposite ends. The rooms were comfortable enough, but I don't think I'd choose to stay there again.
My husband and I, along with some other family members, stayed here one weekend recently when we were in town for a wedding. All of us are seasoned travelers. The room was comfortable and clean, and had all amenities as advertised. My husband in particular found the desk to be a very convenient workspace. The wifi was adequate. On Saturday morning, we found the breakfast room in complete disarray. Supplies of nearly everything were out, surfaces had not been cleaned, etc. Evidently, there was some staffing issue, as one person attempted to cover both the reception and the breakfast room. But eventually help arrived, and things began to recover. On Sunday, breakfast was well arranged and orderly. Everything was stocked, and offerings were very good. Overall, it was a nice visit. This hotel was comfortable and convenient for our purposes.
I loved the attitude and demeanor of the staff. They treated me with the utmost respect and professionalism. They were a great team! Room was clean and smelled good. Hallways were clean. The shower had really good water pressure.
We started our monthly trip cross country July 4 and to date we have stayed in five Best Western Inn's and we found them to be very clean and the staff very professional. I would highly recommend them to any of my friends or family
low cost and low accommodations. We would not use again nor recommend this facility to someone else. What else is there to say, except you wont accept any comments what a two hundred word minimum. Now you have it.
Traveling with family to a funeral, so reserved queen suite room on short notice. Overall, nice hotel. Quickly accessible to interstate. Fairly new property, clean and comfortable. Breakfast offering was good. Would definitely stay there again if/when in the area.
This hotel is a good choice for a clean, friendly hotel. It is a bit off of I-70 but it's quiet and was not crazy busy. The breakfast was plentiful. There was an indoor pool with slide I didn't use. The suite was very spacious.
Great, clean room. Great customer service.....it was the morning of our sons birthday and they opened the pool early for us so he could enjoy the pool before we checked out!!! Would definitely recommend!!
We booked this hotel because we thought our kids would enjoy the pool and slide, but hardly spent any time in the pool due to so many broken tiles, rust on many of the things within the pool area, and dingy nature of the pool area. The room was musty and moist. Will not be returning. This $120-$150 range is where we typically stay for hotels, but this was by far the worst hotel I've every stayed in for that price range.Incredibly over priced for a far below average hotel.
We stayed here one night on a trip to Branson. There were 6 of us, and the room was very comfortable. The staff was very nice and the room was clean. The only comment I might have is that the breakfast was not very organized. The only person working the (very busy) breakfast room was also the person running the front desk. As such, the food was not replenished very well so the selection was low. I kind of felt sorry for her as she seemed a little spread thin. However, when I saw her in the parking lot on her phone, smoking, while there was still no food out, and no one manning the front desk, I reconsidered that. lol Not a bad hotel at all. we would stay there again!
My husband and I usually enjoy staying at a Best Western Plus however, we were disappointed in this hotel. The staff was friendly, no issues there. We noticed a funky smell in the hallway near the lobby elevator, it was worse in the elevator. Our room was okay. I felt the mattress was uncomfortable (maybe too old?); the bed pillows were small and lumpy. The bathtub curtain had mildew all over the bottom, yuk! Didn't even consider trying breakfast in the morning. Very disappointed.
I was denied a one-hour early check-in request. Hotel is non-smoking, and does have some rooms available with a no pet policy also. I appreciated this, because of many allergies. Pool safety is a concern - slick steps into water and no lock on hallway door leading to the pool area...but the curvy pool slide was awesome! No exhaust fan in restroom, no closet or hangers in room, and the breakfast food was skimpy near closing time...so I would suggest these situations be improved upon. Room cleanliness was decent and bed was comfortable. Excellent location to I-135 in Salina, KS.
We really liked the aromatherapy shampoo, conditioner, and lotion. The internet was fast enough for us, although we aren't big users so we may not be the best judges of it. The breakfast was delicious, though the popular items ran out early.
The Best Western Plus Midwest Inn & Suites is a clean, comfortable, and accommodating place to stay. Whenever I am in western Kansas, I make sure to book at room at this motel in Garden City. It is extremely clean and appears "new" whenever I stay. Close proximity to major highways and restaurants is also a plus.
I typically love Best Western's but this was needs to be torn down or completely renovated. The lobby smells like mildew and the room was worse, it reeked of dog pee. I felt like I was staying in a kennel. I also love that they typically offer a great free hot breakfast but don't bother staying for breakfast here, the gas station food is more appetising. I tried to settle for a bagel and there wasn't even cream cheese available. The frustrating part is the room price was the same and the really nice Best Western we stayed in a few nights prior. With the quality of this hotel, it should be offered at most prices.
The manager was great and friendly, the bed comfortable, the place was clean and good options for dinner were offered. That being said the shower head fell off, there was no night light in a small bathroom with no outlet which means turning on a light in the middle of the night. The sink was small and low (tough on 6' 3" men!) and small and limited toiletries. There was a lump in our rug and we wondered what was under it. Basically, this was a converted Econo Lodge and it shows - it certainly shouldn't rate as a BW Plus Best Western!
It smelled like a dog in our room. I wasn't able to pay cash upon checkout like I asked when checking in and was told that would be ok. Apparently a note was not left for the morning staff. Indoor pool offered a slide which was unique. Breakfast was good, but wish they had a fresh fruit option. Staff was friendly and the morning staff did apologize for the miscommunication about the checkout.
I travel all the time. This hotel was one of the best I have stayed. The staff is very friendly. I was greeted by the hotel Manager first thing in the morning. Its nice to see a manager so involved in their hotel. Miranda has a great staff. Breakfast was great and the pool was a lot of fun.
The hotel manager greeted us upon arrival. Miranda was extremely friendly and recommended my new favorite eatery. Kenna was such a delight. The pool and slide were a great asset to the hotel. The breakfast was pretty good. I would recommend this hotel to anyone!
Customer service was not a part of their hospitality. They did not honor the reservation from Expedia. They had no handicap room available and had no alternatives (like suggesting another hotel.) The pool was out of order and the whole place smelled like mold and a dead body.
The building may look dated, but it is well-kept and has been modernized. The staff and help were wonderful, and made our stay so enjoyable. We were allowed to use the breakfast room for a graduation lunch celebration and they were so accommodating and went out of their way to help make it happen. I can't say enough good about the desk help. We had quite a bit of food left, so we invited the desk and cleaning staff to join us for lunch.. Thank you, Salina Best Western Midwest Inn and Suites, for making our graduation day so enjoyable!
Excellent quality. I would suggest that the elevator have a good cleaning. Breakfast was very good and food was well present to the clients. The motel is easy to find off of 81 highway. We stay at this motel whenever traveling to Salina, Ks.
i give this hotel a Zero rating. Management could not be bothered with the concerns of a guest. Our previous stay we both were sickened by the way that the food was handled and the food quality was not any better this time. Will I recommend this hotel Not a chance. zero rating
I'm a loyal BW member stay up to 10 or 12 nights at BW. Very discouraging when you arrive at a BW that isn't at the quality of the higher level BW but they still are charging the same as a high level. In this instance one of the highest priced hotels in Salina, but isn't near that quality. In town to visit family at the hospital, wanting to give a reward to my 4 year old it's imperative that they have a swimming pool. I chose as usual a BW first even though it was more expensive than other nice hotels in the area. Older rooms that have been remodeled (which is fine) but pool was out of service (which is not fine at these prices prices)! If you can't offer all of your amenities then you shouldn't be one the highest priced hotels. Occasionally, as a member when I travel I stumble on BW's who do this. Priced high, but fail on delivering what I'm paying for.
This hotel was our only option, as every hotel was sold out for the weekend. Room was dirty, especially under the sofa bed. Didn't even consider laying our 6 year old on it, as it was disgusting. Trash on the floor under the sofa bed and the sofa bed was very stained, did not even consider having our daughter sleeping on it, she slept with us in the king bed. King bed was really comfy though despite the cleanliness of room. The hotel itself had a weird odor overall, and not a good one. Staff was not helpful at all. Made call to front desk for wifi password 7 times with no answer. Finally went to the front desk and the person working was sitting in the lobby on their cell phone and did not put down or end their personal phone call to answer our questions. Very rude.
Back door lock has been inoperative for a year or more. Room had leftovers in fridge and counter trash from previous tenant. Asked for two beds and got a pull out couch and a bed. Um, not two beds but a torture device and a pretty decent bed - just too small.
Hotel elevators and halls are dank and dingy with bad odors. The bathrooms and guestrooms need to be renovated. The entire facility just feels neglected. Doesn't meet the standards I expected from a BW Plus location.
Great rooms for the price. Very clean. Comfortable bed. Quiet. Comfortable. Very friendly, curteous and professional staff. Well lit and very clean parking parking areas. I will definitely be staying here again when I pass back through.
Having stayed 70+ nights in hotels over the last 14 months we expected a BW Plus Hotel to stand out and this one did in not good ways. The first two rooms we were placed had sinks and tubs that backed up terribly and the room we were moved to along with the first two were just dirty from lots of dust. The room we finally stayed in had a TV that was so dim it was really hard to see the picture without straining and even after adjusting the brightness level as high as it would go, it still was not satisfactory. We are Diamond Select members of BW and this was not near up to the standards we expected based on our stays at other BW hotels.
Super nice..We will enjoy our stay on the next trip! Super nice staff and the beds were heaven...Great location we didn't stay but one night so didn't get to enjoy all the nice things in the motel..next time...
Clean, comfortable, and spacious rooms. Full breakfast and very quiet. We've stayed here before and this experience was just as great as before. Convenient location on the south side of town just off of I-135.
This property is a bit below Best Western standards. The shower/tub drained very slowly and resulted in water backing up while showering. The shower/tub was not thoroughly cleaned. There were hairs on the walls and also a partially used bar of soap on the soap tray.
Place was super friendly. Room was clean. Breakfast was great. Pool was fun for the kids. They have a slide! Staff was very accommodating. Nice place to relax after a long drive. Would recommend to anyone on the road.
Time to remodel/update this room. ceiling had two long cracks, showed previous patches, as did portions of the walls. Stool had caulking smeared all over bottom. Bathroom only had a porcelain sink, no vanity. No place for cosmetics. Curtains hung too close to room conditioner, and billowed wildly. Room was pretty clean, but not detailed, as evidenced by the left-behind pair of black lace panties.
I stay here once a month, usually get a room on the ground floor. This time I did not, room was unavailable when I originally wanted to check in so I ended up on the 2nd floor in the corner of the hotel. Very low water pressure made for a luke warm shower, needed a nice hot shower after not sleeping well on the extra firm mattress. The breakfast is better than some and the staff is nice.
I stayed with my fiancé this month and we had an amazing experience. Upon arriving we were greeted by the front desk attendant and got checked in pretty quickly! When we entered our room it was clean, well put together and simple enough for a two night stay! No issues! The following day we enjoyed the pool, it was nice to relax and enjoy ourselves! Housekeeping came through and were all really nice had fresh towels and sheets room cleaned up! We were overall very satisfied! Honestly I have no complaints, I'd highly recommend this for a place to stay!! Good price, good people, good rooms!
My stay at this location of Best Western was great! Friendly staff all around, room was very neat and CLEAN! Pool area was well maintained and the slide was pretty cool too! And the breakfast in the morning was amazingly good food! Highly recommend this location!
Dacia the front desk agent was very professional and friendly. All the staff were very helpful. The room was in great working order. Breakfast was good. Nice variety. Miranda was a great site to see first thing in the morning. Very genuine on our stay.
Housekeeping was really not good at all - terrible. We went to our assigned room and found the carpet dirty and the bed linens with black specks of something and another person's hair???? We asked for another room and the hostess took us to another room and she turned back the sheets to find more black specs. Finally, the third room looked like (we hope) that the bedding was changed and clean. The carpets were all in need of cleaning, or, at the very least, a good vacuuming. Same with the hallways. The furnishings are really pretty nice. Too bad that managers and housekeeping staff don't take pride in their work.
When the hostess greeted me with, "If you come in now, I'll have to charge you with an extra day" 30 minutes before check-in time, I knew this was a bad idea. Unsecured internet, broken tub stopper, old food in the fridge, cold pool in February. This was the worst Best Western I have stayed at, and I have stayed at many.
Meeting family to celebrate grandaughter 's birthday. Swimming with a slide made this the perfect spot for the children. Front desk staff, esp. Miranda were so helpful and nice to all. Really good breakfast, fresh and real eggs.
The location was right off the interstate which was good. The pool was broken, the coffee was cold, the employees were subpar, and needs updating! The house keeping did a good job with what they had to work with.
My stay was great up until the morning. It was started with a cold shower followed by a disappointing breakfast dropped my rating. The breakfast area was beautiful, but the selection when I was there was disappointing.
Nice stay, room was very clean along with the rest of the hotel. Coffee was good, breakfast ok. Traveling with a pet with no problem. We almost didnt stay here bc of some of the written reviews, we had no problem here, would stay again.
The hotel is easy to get to, friendly, and clean. Enjoyed my stay there. The breakfast was good, same as in most hotels. The staff was very nice, most of them were doing a multiple duties but it appeared thingscwere getting done.
We were upgraded to a very nice suite. Very clean. Beds and pillows very comfortable. Staff friendly and efficient. Breakfast didn't start til 6:30. Would have been nice to start at 6:00. I will certainly stay again.
Please have the water pipe situation fixed. Way too much air in pipes with noises, esp. room 106. We did report it, but not sure if it got to right person. It will definitely make us think about stopping there on our way back to Wisconsin. Very nice, clean, place with a great hot breakfast. But please look into this matter.
This BW only looks a little tired (from the parking lot) but the room, pillows, bed and staff are better than most. We had a great 1 night stay. Nice that it was pet friendly too. Carmen at front desk was especially helpful.
This place needs renovation and updating. Pool was in bad shape and not heated as advertised - water slide was inoperable. Room had carpet coming up and in need of updating. We will not be returning here on any future trips.
We had issues with a lamp and the clock. Both were attended to as soon as we brought it to the attention of the front desk staff. Breakfast was probably the best we've ever had at a BW. Check in and check out was quick and easy.
The staff and the overall morale at this facility was phenomenal! We were impressed from the time we checked in until check out. The breakfast variety was amazing and the pool has a great slide for the kids to enjoy. I would highly recommend this hotel for your next stay.
I highly recommend this hotel. The staff is very friendly and the breakfast is amazing. They have a heated pool and a waterside too! Will definitely stay again when we take another roadtrip through the area! Thanks Best Western!!!!
The front desk staff was just wonderful. Miranda, the front desk lady, was extremely helpful and very friendly. The hotel was nice and quiet. The room was really clean. Breakfast was good as well. Very friendly breakfast attendant. Met the head housekeeper, Fatima. She was very accommodating as well. Highly recommend this hotel. But, my favorite part was the heated pool and waterslide.
Very nice hotel and also very nice room the bed was amazing I had a very good sleep. The young lady working the front desk I think her name was Miranda she is great did good in checking me in. I would recommend this hotel and I would stay again..
My wife and I as well as our dog tootsie stayed here traveling across Kansas to Colorado. The receptionist was very nice and helpful .Our room was clean and quiet. The beds were comfortable.I would stay here again>
I had stayed at this hotel several years ago and found it to be a good hotel then. I started frequenting another nearby hotel and hadn't been to the Best Western in awhile. I am glad I returned to the Best Western for this trip as it turned out to be as good as I remembered it, and that was several years ago. The Best Western Midwest Inn has done a very nice job of maintaining their hotel and I will definitely stay there again. Keep up the good work.
Great place to stay for an overnight stop. Right off the interstate by 0.2 of a mile. Quite, and one plus is in the winter the entry is on the south side of the building and in the lee of the wind that is always blowing in Kansas.
There were dried urine stains on toilet and some hairs between the wrinkled bed sheets. Also, whatever was scent used to freshen the room was intensified so much by running the heater, that we did not run the heater and actually had to have the window open on a cold night. Hotel rooms should smell like “NOTHING”.
We stopped here on our trip to Utah. We got lost, the clerk on duty stayed on the phone with us until we got out of our "lost" and to our hotel. Now that is customer service! Got ot our hotel, they had coffee and snacks in the lobby, and gave us gift bags with snacks for our evening.
Maintenance issues everywhere!! The ADA equipment was not functioning in the pool area. The pool chair was zip tied and useless. It was also inaccessible with a wheelchair. There was a wheelchair lift that was rusted and totally disgusting. The staff didn't know where the keys were to it and had never seen it used or were willing to help. And it was about 65 degrees in the pool room. Then there's the cold bathroom with nonfunctional equipment so you couldn't take a bath and low water pressure. There wasn't a hair dryer either. The toilet was not anchored to the floor. The heater was noisy with wet carpet in front of it. Along with the liberal amount of issues, it was odd the Fox channel had no sound except for commercials. This was the worst motel I have ever stayed in.
I was pleased with the room for the price and there was plenty of parking for my truck & trailer. There was a good variety of food for breakfast and the service was good. I would recommend this hotel to anyone traveling through the area.
The front desk staff was inviting and informative! My young kids had a blast in the pool and slide. The room was nice, updated and comfortable for our family! The price was perfect considering all of the amenities BW has to offer.
I have stayed at this location many times over several years now. The staff has always been very professional and polite; room is always clean, and complimentary hot breakfast has been fresh and hot. Thanks to everyone that makes it all happen!
It was an amazing stay, staff was very good at their job and very nice. Can't complain. Definitely will be there again and again if the continued to have this kind of customer service...ray the front desk guy was very helpful and Emily the breakfast lady was amazing and on point keeping the food stocked.
The room was great!. Comfortable beds and pillows. The staff was friendly, helpful and courteous. The breakfast was delicious and very plentiful. The outdoor patio was a beautiful place to relax and enjoy the scenery. The swimming pool was funtastic.
This was my third time staying at this particular hotel. Upon my arrival, there was a goody bag with cookies and gatorade waiting for me as a rewards member. The room was a king suite with small sofa and desk. Also had a microwave and fridge. Everything is clean, clean, clean. Got on the wifi with no problem but the hotel subscribes to tech support 24/7 if you have any issues. Breakfast was great with eggs, bacon, biscuits and a host of sweet rolls, toast, waffles, cereal and fruit. The staff was very courteous and helpful. There are plenty of restaurants near the hotel. And it is quiet!
Nice room with king bed and sofa. Room was quiet and bed was comfortable. Good hot breakfast with large variety of foods. Good location close to restaurants. We would definitely stay there again if we were traveling that way.
It was a decent place to stay. The staff wasn't very professional but tried to be nice. Our room was not cleaned on a daily basis, so we finally just said to not clean it and give us towels. Breakfast was good and the pool was fun. Only used it once though, it broke down.
We stayed here on our way home (St Louis) from Colorado. Unfortunately it not on Interstate 70 (about 6 miles off). Very pleasant staff. Great room!! Only stayed one night and that night there was problem with internet, but it appears the whole area was having internet issues
We have stayed at this property a number of times and have always been very satisfied. The people who work there are very pleasant and helpful. The facility is very convenient to the interstate highway and also convenient to restaurants and shopping. The rooms are well furnished and very comfortable. We would recommend this facility to anyone who is on the area.
My wife and I stayed here overnight on our way to a wedding in Topeka. I looked around at several places online and this hotel had good reviews and very good prices. We were not disappointed. Our room was very clean, the staff was very courteous and there was no problem with noise. I would definitely stay here again.
We recommend this hotel. The exterior is kept up and the interior is clean and nice. The staff is friendly and helpful. The room is clean, roomy, and comfortable. Check in and check out is fast. The breakfast bar had a variety of food items and the eggs and meat were hot. The breakfast area was clean. This is a nice hotel to stay in.
Easy to reach from the highway, very comfortable, clean room, exceptional staff. For an older hotel it was every clean and updated. The breakfast was good for their standard fare. The breakfast area was very clean.
One can easily find a number of restaurant, and shopping options nearby. Great place to base out of for visiting Saline, Hutchenson, and Abilene. Interstate I 135 and I 70 are also convient and nearby to get you to your destination.
The hotel is located off of the freeway so it is very quiet. The breakfast area was well stocked and very clean. The room was nicely furnished and clean. Overall if we are in this area, we would definitely stay here again. The staff we interacted with was very friendly and courteous.
Very busy place, Staff was nice but checking in was very slow process. New employee on Friday night. Called but could not hear due to backround noise. Room was good, bed was comfortable, just needed a shower and some rest.
Always hesitant about the hotels that you pick to say at, but with the help of other trip advisor reviews I chose this one and stayed two nights on visit to Kansas. I was not disappointed. Plenty of food choices in area and stores. Coming from NY this is small city but safe and plenty of amenities within.
We had reservations for over a week when we arrived at the hotel after traveling for 12 hrs. We were told our room that was supposed to be a handicapped room with roll in shower was not available. After being on the road for 3 weeks this seems to be a favorite story of front desk clerks. We were told they would find us a hotel with that room and Best Western would pay for it. The manager told us she would pay for our room but could only find one in town available. It was nasty and we couldn't stay there!! I called the Holiday Inn Express that was exactly across the road and they were wonderful! Don't book at the Best Western!
i enjoyed my stay at this hotel. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. Breakfast was pretty good with plenty of hot dishes including waffles. There were plenty of spaces to eat breakfast in the lobby area.
One of the main features of this hotel, the pool, was closed down without any real explanation and no notice on their website. The ice machine was not working, and something was happening on the first floor that required fans to be running non-stop in the hallways. Our room smelled of stale cigarette smoke. Overall a bad experience.
The breakfasts are the highlights of this hotel. Best breakfast I've ever had in any hotel I've stayed at. Lots of variety, fresh, and delicious. Clean rooms with microwaves and mini fridge. Hot coffee, iced tea, lemon infused ice water and pretzels in lobby 24/7. Very nice.
I was on a road trip through Kansas and needed a stopping point in Kansas. I stopped in Salina and was very surprised by this hotel. The rooms were large, modern, and comfortable. It even had an indoor pool with a large slide. It was very reasonably priced. The only downside was arriving at 6 pm when check-in was too busy and there was only one person (Christina) on staff, but she handled the "rush" well and was very courteous.
Very polite receptionist Very nice property Have stayed here before and it was great.. did it again,,, Great place....Easy on and off the freeway..Breakfast was very nice...Will stay here again when traveling this way!!!
Location: right off of 135, but only 1 entrance/exit in parking lot, high curb to get over. Lobby VERY warm. So warm I asked about it and was told that is just how it is kept. Lemon water, tea, and 24 hour pretzels in lobby. Furniture in lobby looks nice but cheaply made. Stayed 3 days 1 week and came back following week for 1 more night. First stay: pool down. People checking in upset they weren't notified when making their reservation as this is why they chose hotel. I am a platinum member and had to ask for the upgrade. Was offerd bonus points or 2 snacks and 2 waters. Chose snacks and waters but never got them. Room was okay but smelled like wet dog. Only 1 computer in business center prints, and it stopped working during the first night of my stay. Breakfast was okay. Not many choices, but was okay. Second stay a week later: pool still down. front desk staff (older male) seemed sort of put out to help me. Had to ask for the upgrade again. This room did not smell, but couch in suite was very broken down and in need of replacement. Also, shower not cleaned in this room. Toilet ran, had to hold handle down to flush. Bed was fairly comfortable in first stay, but second one had a loud bed that made noise with movement. Mattress itself was comfortable though. During first stay the SOLE ice maker was not working. Basically, what you would probably expect from a BW, but NOT a BW PLUS. Very unhappy about this stay. Figured second stay would have to be improved, but sadly it was not. I have also stayed at the Holiday Inn off of 70 and had a pretty good stay there. Probably won't stay here my next time. Location is pretty convenient: close to Walmart, restaurants etc.
Okay. Not too bad. Older facility but fairly clean. Motel style (outside entrance, pull up to your door). Staff was professional and friendly. We had a pet friendly room which had laminate flooring rather than carpet which made for a cleaner room.
Service was fine and the room was just OK. Pools was down for repairs "indefinitely". Entry, elevator tile and carpet hall floors were dirty. Breakfast was mediocre, lousy coffee, lumps of scrambled eggs, not peanut butter. It did have bananas and good English muffins. Nothing PLUS about this hotel.
Other than housekeepers knocking on our door with our do not disturb plaque on the door our stay was very good front desk staff were extremely helpful and caring. pool is down because of a melted pipe
We drove from Custer, South Dakota and needed a place to rest. Front lady was polite and friendly. Easy to check in, clean room, no issues and would recommend this place to family and friends. Kid and dog friendly hotel
This hotel was a little off highway 70 but worth the few extra miles. The staff was friendly and the hotel was very clean. If you have a family there is a water slide for the children. The breakfast was also very good. We will stay here again. It is halfway between Colorado Springs, CO and St Louis.
We had a first floor room, convenient to the pool and ice machine. Our room was clean. The pool had a water slide. Unfortunately there wasn't any water running down the slide so the kids couldn't slide very smoothly, but they had fun anyway. The bathroom tub and toilet room was much larger than the previous night's ( a Best Western, but not Best Western Plus). They had lemon water and tea in the lobby and a good breakfast with toppings for the yogurt and blueberry muffins.
The staff was friendly and very helpful. The hotel was clean, as was our room. The breakfast staff went out of their way to accommodate us. And best of all it was quiet......a wonderful nights sleep!!
Internet was out the late afternoon and all evening of arrival. Up and running by morning. First room assigned was too musty to inhabit, but were then assigned to a nice, acceptable room. Drapes hand over the A/C so the most of the cold air goes up the drapes. Check in is a slow process as all info is recorded manually, even though we are elite BW members with all info in the system. Breakfast offerings were good, but coffee and
SOOOO....we needed a quick place to lay our heads. Had no plans in Salina, just a quick pit stop. Can't beat the best western correct? called for room rates told the computers are down so book online. Did so...happened to get a GREAT room rate due to off season and it was an online booking. Get to the room...That is when I am told there is no internet. An annoyance but we are hot n tired and the kids are eyeballing that water slide and their computers are down so they can't cancel our room. So ok good whatever. Here we are a week later and I'm being over charged on the room...called BW they say I can only resolve this if I talk to the hotel directly. I will let you know if it gets resolved. I called but the front desk person wrote none of my personal information down. And are you hoping I wont notice the charge difference? But still unhappy with not being told about the internet before booking the room even though I called directly before booking online. If they correct my overpayment issue I might change my rating....it wasn't bad.
When driving from Ohio to Colorado, we always stay at this motel. Clean, great service, friendly staff, and great Continental breakfast. Has clean pool area and exercise room available. Although not right off I-70, it is only a short distance away situated in an area where there are restaurants, shopping and fuel.
Told front desk that there was no sound on Fox News Channel, only picture. His reply—“We have had several tell us this”, and continued to stamp envelops for room key cards. Room clean. Front entrance and lobby really not inviting.
On our way to Tulsa. We were able to make the reservations online. We were on our way to Tulsa. Needed 1 night to stay at midpoint. Comfortable, clean motel. Hot breakfast is good. (One night stay). WIFI in room was satisfactory.
This hotel was a lovely surprise. It is not"fancy" however the rooms are renovated. The bed was comfortable. Lonnie at the front desk was so friendly and helpful. We were able to leave our ceoacks in the hotel freezer. Our room had a microwave and small frig. The bath products were creamy soaps and a shampoo and conditioner that left my flat hair with some body. Another big surprise es breakfast. A big breakfast with so many options; the kind of breakfast buffet you would get for a lot more money, and it was included in the room price. To have this hotel be pet friendly was another plus for us. It was 10 minutes off the highway and we would stay there again.
We stayed here for three days (Sat. - Tues.) while visiting our daughter. Check in was smooth and quick, and the room was clean and comfortable. Our room also had a large jetted tub. It was lovely. Breakfast the next morning was pretty typical, except the attendant was clearly in a world of his own. He wore earphones and seemed oblivious to the food spills in the buffet line, and the need to wipe up the tables as people left. We cleaned off our own table and noticed other guests doing to same thing. The coffee pots were not refilled and the coffee cups were not restocked. I went out to the lobby to see if I could get a cup out there and found that rack empty as well. We chose not to eat breakfast there the next two days. That same day we returned to our room about 8:30 pm to find that house-keeping had neglected to come. I went down to the front desk to ask for some clean towels for the next morning. The front desk attendants were very nice and assured me that house-keeping would take care of things the next day. When we arrived back Monday evening, house-keeping had come. They left clean towels, emptied one of the two trash cans and left the used towels in the bath tub. It felt like a “don't care” job. This is the second time we stayed at this hotel. The first time was just overnight but the experience was positive so when we returned for a longer visit we chose this hotel again. With the exception of the front desk personnel, we felt that the quality of the service this time was deplorable.
We stayed at this hotel recently, and it was clean and nice. The only complaint I have is that I didn't have any bars on my phone in my room even though they offered WiFi connection. Other than that, it was fine.
Overall hotel is very dirty - from the lobby to the elevator to rooms. Rooms smelled like pets and smoke. Pets are allowed as a dog barked in the room across the hall. This hotel is not what I have experienced with other Best Western Plus. Needs a good cleaning and remodel. Overpriced for what the quality.
We were on our last night of a 5,581 mile journey and tired of moving every night. This was an oasis for us. It was clean, comfortable, staff was very polite and helpful. Very pleasant. Breakfast offered variety and was fresh. Highly recommend this motel. Had an indoor pool which was great for families traveling with kids or anyone who want to take a dip.
I have utilized this location many times over the last several years and have not been disappointed. Fresh, hot breakfast, WiFi, computer room, and the staff has always been polite and professional. Thanks again for a great experience.
My husband drives a semi on a regular basis. That said, we often stay at LaQuinta hotels because they are dog friendly. We found this hotel in the area where we were completely out of hours for him to drive. They were not only dog friendly but people friendly. The front desk clerk even came out and showed us where we could park a rig with trailer between their hotel and Comfort Inn because the owner owns both places. Kindness matters. The only suggestions that I have for improvement would be to fix the heating element on the dryer. Even the breakfast was good and fresh. And the lady restocking it, even came to our table and asked us how everything was. When you're in the hospitality business and you actually have a team of workers like this, you are truly awesome. Thank you Best Western!
My husband and I recently spent a night in this motel and found the room to be very clean and comfortable. We got a great night's sleep on the fine bed and enjoyed a good breakfast. We would be glad to visit here again!!!
This Best Western was a very quiet place to stay. Every one would go out of their way for you.Breakfast was also about a 41\\2. The bed was better then normal got a great night sleep.Would highly recommend this Best Western if you need a great place to stsy.
Very clean, great breakfast, and an even better desk staff, located across a country store, restaurants are several blocks away, but they suggest some great delivery pizza. Pretzels in the lobby was nice snack. I'd stay there again for sure.
Friendly competent Staff, clean room, great experience. The staff went out of their way to make my stay comfortable. Best Western Plus Midwest Inn & Suites had all the amenities needed to make my stay a pleasant one.
It was clean, the food was good and great location. I really enjoy the location, it was near everything (fast foods, gas stations, retail stores, etc). So it was a nice place to have a quick stay and enjoy the place by yourself.
We made it to the hotel before the storms hit. We were treated well and had a safe and nice time. The staff was aware of the tornadoes and heavy rain storms approaching and seemed calm. THat kept us calm also.
I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone staying in this area. The staff was extremely helpful and courteous. The room was comfortable and felt clean. The property was well kept. I have no complaints.
We normally stay at Hilton Properties, but they both were full at this location on that night. We were glad they were since we wound up staying at this great property. The room looked almost brand new. Housekeeping did a fine job and the hotel staff seemed to sincerely care about the property and it's guests.
Friendly staff kids love their swimming pool..i will be staying here again.. Breakfast was not bad its quite place too..my friends was with us they said Even we live in town still nice to stay in a hotel once in a while...
This was my first time passing through Salina and I had no idea what to expect. I was very pleased we stayed at the BWP Midwest Inn. The building itself is just a little dated but is very well kept up. The room was very clean and comfortable. The especially liked the pillows. They, along with the comfortable bed, made for a great night's sleep. The complimentary breakfast had plenty of choices and was very well laid out. The breakfast area was also clean and welcoming. There is always iced cold water and tea, along with hot coffee, in the hotel foyer and comfortable places to sit. Parking was close to our room and very accessible. Neither my wife or I took advantage of the indoor pool and water slide, but it looked refreshing for hot summer days. All-in-all, this was a great place to stay and I would recommend it to all passers by.
We were satisfied with our stay at the Best Western Midwest Plus in Wichita. The Staff was friendly and helpful. We will stay there again when we are traveling in that area. The breakfast buffet was beautifully displayed with many choices.
Good for a stop over for a nights sleep good comfy beds quite rooms very good breakfast excellent coffee. Accessible room with rollin shower very user friendly very good water pressure and hot water. Water did not travel all over bathroom like most hotels
It is easy to get to with a gas station right across the street and just off the freeway. The price was good and the room was clean and comfortable. I would recommend it if you are in Salina and plan on stopping there again.
Staff was attentive to our needs and understood the chain's intent to serve guests. Even the cleaning personnel were friendly and assisted with questions and needed extras to complete our delightful stay!!
Always enjoy working out in the quiet pool after driving for hours, and a good breakfast helps get me on my way. Staff, quality of rooms, quiet location, even though close to expressway, and feeling of security make for a comfortable stay
Building and our room were clean and accommodating. Check in staff was friendly. Our issue was the Monday morning breakfast, there were no eggs, no orange juice, no biscuits (there was gravy). They did have coffee!! When I asked about missing items, response was they had a busy weekend and ran out. Welllll go to the store and get some. Would give 4 stars, except for breakfast issue.
Clean inside and out. Very friendly staff. All rooms are suites. We had a King bed which gave adequate room but I think it would be crowded with 2 beds. The is the first room in 12 days of travel that had excellent lighting. You didn't have to run the water long to get it hot. Almost instant hot water. They had the usual fare for breakfast but nicely presented. It was also quiet.
Best Western provided a nice, quiet, clean, friendly environment for our stop on our road trip. The breakfast was excellent and a very nice amenity. We had our small dog with us and the courtyard/dog area outside was perfect. Thanks for making our journey very pleasant.
We like to stay here quite often. Pool with a slide, great breakfast, good service, and it is off the highway so it is nice and quiet so you can get a good night's rest. The staff is very accommodating, and it is just a good all around place to stay !!!
Great value, they take cats. Not a lot of places do. It was a quiet area, but close to the highway for an early departure. A nice variety of restaurants was five minutes away. We'll definitely keep this in our travel book.
Stayed here for 2 nights with my family and it was an overall great experience. The staff were really helpful and breakfast was hot, plentiful, and appealing. Love their coffee. My daughter and I had a great time at the pool. Pet friendly with a dog walk area complete with waste disposal bags and a can to discard them in. All in all a really good value considering all the amenities. We will be staying here again in the future.
Stayed one night. Nice sized king room. Frig & micro. No HBO or Showtime due to some glitch. Breakfast above average (danish, sausage, scrambled eggs +). There is a grassy place across the street where we walked our Golden Doodle. There is minimal dog walk area around the hotel, but NOTE TO DOG PEOPLE: Please pick up after your dogs! There is a nice little shaded sitting area outside. Front desk staff very accommodating. Kids in pool area seemed to enjoy the water slide. No hot tub.
We have stayed at this hotel many times before, but this was the last straw. We've always stayed with our two small dogs and we are always put in the same first floor room. Overall the place is just getting tired and just not up to BW Plus standards of other's I've been to. Unfortunately, it is also a hotel that caters to workers who back their trucks into the spaces next to the hotel, even with an empty parking lot. On other trips we've encountered problems with the trucks warming their engines and fumes coming into the rooms, and have complained to staff about it, as it makes the room unhealthy and unbearable at 6AM in the morning. Once again, the staff seemed to be baffled by my suggestion that they asks guest to not do that or even just put up a sign suggesting head in parking only, like so many other hotels do? This visit I also discovered that the bezel around the air conditioner wasn't even there and there was a direct air flow to outside. No wonder it was cold in the room and the heater kept coming on. Additionally, on this stay the pet area was quite full of dog poop that had not been cleaned up in ages, and breakfast was really just marginal. I was told "oh it was a Monday so the breakfast was missing many things- no yogurt, no jam, etc, as today "was going to the market day" and they needed to get stuff. Seriously? I have a choice, and I will not stay there again.
We spent one night on our way trekking across the country with a golden retriever. The hotel staff was very helpful and the workout facility while small have a good set of equipment. The only improvement I would request is a thorough airing out. This is billed as a smoke free hotel and the hallways had a lot of smoke odor. The room was fine.
Easy friendly check-in with convenient parking. Quiet spacious room with plenty of amenities. Room was clean with a comfortable bed. Complete breakfast with plenty of choices of egg, sausage, cereals, fruits, juices and others.
I am on my second out of four night stay and it's not looking good. The staff is friendly but not 100% knowledgeable. The fitness room can only have one person at a time in it. The pool was slimy but had a decent water slide, still wouldn't swim though. My room keys stopped working twice. The shower kit was not sturdy. I want to say it's a nice place to stay but even the parking lot had issues, too small and uneven curb. I am on business and I have to say I will not be doing business here again.
I needed a dog friendly place with fitness room. The brands I normally look for had some troublesome reviews so I tried this place. The check in guy was nice and solicitous but could not help with the broken bedside lamp, saying a replacement was in a locked maintenance room he did not have access to. Huh? Do the room was dark, as was the TV screen despite all possible adjustment. The plastic shower enclosure was loose and not much water pressure. Funny smell in the hall though not in the room. The heater was quieter than most (thank you!) Beds were fine. Decor was 70s style but that's not important to me. Breakfast was very good. The parking lot was adequately lit for cars but the edges where I took the dogs for relief were dark. Overall it served its purpose but I couldn't understand why it cost me more than the brand new HI Express the night before
Awesome staff! They were so kind and helpful. It's a pet friendly hotel and they loved my dog. I will stay there again when traveling through. Breakfast was great, it could use some oatmeal but other than that, it was good
This hotel is conveniently located from I-135. It is very clean, well decorated and has good amenities. The staff are friendly and professional. There are many choices at the breakfast bar . All in all, this hotel is very customer oriented.
My kids love the staff and the indoor pool and slide!! The rooms are updated and very clean. The hotel is just minutes from the highway and is very easy to get to. Because we are Best Western award card holders they upgraded us to a sweet which was so roomy for our family of 5!
We got a suite and it was very big and there is also a slide located in the pool area that the kids loved. and very close to other restaurants and mall within 5 minutes of everything. I would stay here again !
I've come to expect a good experience when I stay in a Best Western Plus, and this hotel does not disappoint. The rooms are comfortable, the hot breakfast is well stocked, and the staff in particular is tremendous. I go out of my way to stay in this hotel when I am travelling for work.
As we were traveling cross country, we were welcomed by a friendly staff and a wonderfully comfortable room for the evening. They had ice tea and water waiting in the foyer for the guests. The hot breakfast the following morning was a great way to start the day.
The BW Midwest Inn and Suites is a great hotel! Personnel are always friendly and we love the fact that is off I-70 by several miles. My family feels very safe there and it is our "go to" hotel in between St. Louis and Denver.
As nice a mid range priced hotel as you will find. Friendly staff. Nice breakfast that they keep stocked and don't knock you down trying to pick it up at the stroke of 9, in fact it's open til 0930. I'll be back.
Best Western hotels have been consistent in their quality of service and comfort and the Salina KS location is no exception. Rooms were spacious, clean and quiet. The front desk staff were gracious and helpful.. The hot breakfast was well organized and well stocked so we weren't scrambling for anything or waiting around for the food to show up. Everything was as it should be.
Most places charge a pet fee per stay. This place charges $20 a day for a 10 pound cat who spends his entire time sleeping. Since we are worried about the cat accidentally getting out, we had the do not disturb sign up the whole time. They had absolutely no expense in cleaning the room for 3 day. $60 for my pet seems a little steep.
We really enjoyed this hotel. It was decorated nice, and the amenities were great. The lemon infused water, tea, coffee, and pretzels available in the lobby really made me smile. It was a nice touch! Room was nice. Shower was great. My only complaint was the lumpy mattresses and pillows.
Our room was clean and comfortable. We appreciated the room upgrade due to the pool being down. Vicki was awesome! She made our little girls night! Breakfast as good. Ordinary hotel line up but I really liked they had fresh blueberries.
Great place to stay with a dog. Grassy area all around. Glad to see that people pick up after their dogs. Wonderful breakfast. Gravy had lots of sausage in it. Real eggs, not powdered. Great coffee! Front desk service was great, very clean and nice.
Very respectful staff and nice room. Friendly people. Spent one night here. Would stay again. Bathrooms are clean. Checkout easy. Did not stay for breakfast. Location was convenient and near many restaurants. Close to the highway
Facility was nice, staff were helpful. Breakfast was OK. Had a question about our billing, but staff explained to me their billing system. Would recommend this facility. People were friendly. Liked that they had water and coffee in the lobby.
On the surface, this motel looks fine. However, our experience was disappointing because we made an extra effort to book BW Plus motels on this trip. Let me say first that the bed and pillows were fine. And, the exercise room had a nice treadmill. However, the swimming pool was broken so we could not use it. The faucet in our room dripped continuously. When we turned on the shower, a good portion of the water came out the faucet and not the shower. The door to our room was hard to open and close due to the carpet. Overall, the room looked overly worn. The attendant for the breakfast room called in sick so the waffle mix was not available. The gal at the front desk was nice and did get some for us. The hot water in the canister was cold. This was NOT our typical BW experience, so we don't know if this as just an anomaly or if BW is going downhill.
This was a very nice place to stay. Very quite and the atmosphere was very pleasant. The breakfast was awesome, once we plugged in the waffle iron ourselves, Very nice breakfast. This place served more food than we have ever seen in a hotel. We will differently stay here again on our trip to OK.
Great hotel good beds very clean and quiet. I would definitely recommend this hotel. Breakfast was good looks like in the Summer there will be an amazing indoor swimming pool with a huge water slide .
I stayed with my family and we had a great time, the food was delicious as well as a well stocked pantry for snacks. The front desk employee was beyond amazing her service was excellent. We would definitely be back here
This hotel is good if you are just looking for a place to sleep for a night and a hot breakfast in the morning. I wouldn't book for any length of time but they were very easy going about us having our dog with us and accommodating to a late night check in. We were traveling for Thanksgiving and just needed a place to sleep so it checked all our boxes.
Everything was just okay. I didn't get room service after 3 days of stay. Had to go get fresh linen. Pillows were soft and felt old that out of the four felt like two next morning. Overall staff was very nice and accommodating.
The front desk person was not friendly or very helpful. Other than that the stay was excellent. The breakfast was nicely set out and the attendant was trying hard. She was having trouble with the microwave but was very helpful.
Great experience, the best breakfast I have had in a hotel. Check in and out was flawless. Staff very helpful and friendly. Housekeeping did a fantastic job, I was there for 4 days and couldn't have been more pleased with the service.
I travel frequently for work and choose Best Western because they are generally consistent and I prefer the rewards program. This was the worst Best Western I've ever stayed in. The entire building was humid/muggy. I do not know if this had anything to do with the pool being out of order when I stayed, but the air was damp. The carpet was damp. The room smelled unpleasant. The man who was working the front desk appeared to be under the influence of something. He was jumpy and his eyes were glassy. He did not speak up and often just made gestures, instead of asking for information. I did not really feel comfortable handing my credit card over to this gentleman. The room I was originally assigned was dirty, as in, the bed was still unmade and there were dirty towels on the sink area. They checked me into a different room, but at that point I did not feel a lot of confidence. I was here for work and the arrangements had already been made by my agency, so I stayed, but I contemplated leaving and checking into any of the other available options in town. I cut my trip short to one night. I will not stay at this location again and do not recommend it to anybody else when there are so many options in the area.
I stay at this location regularly; and I have always had a great experience. This trip involved a 2 day extension that was unplanned (family emergency). The manager and staff were very helpful and accommodating with getting everything processed which allowed me to focus on getting problems solved/fixed. I can genuinely recommend this as a great place to stay.
Location is convenient to where the two main highways intersect so it is a great stopover for travelers on a budget. Price is right. Rooms are comfy and clean. Staff was helpful and reliable. Rooms are all nonsmoking.
Nice large room with King bed and couch ..... all staff we had contact with were nice and very friendly ..... nice hot breakfast ..... convenient location for where we needed to visit during our stay in Salina
Good price for walk-ins, plus several discounts available. Clean, updated rooms, plenty of towels and nice toiletries. Excellent breakfast with something for everyone. We also always appreciate having a microwave and fridge.
I enjoyed my stay at Salina Best Western Plus. Nice Friendly Staff. My room was clean, nice comfortable bed, woke up refreshed. Also, very quite room no outside noise. I will stay here again. I noticed a fitness room and indoor pool, which I did not have time to try out.
Came to Salina for my daughters state volleyball tournament. The staff was nice the hotel was clean and the service was great. Checking in was simple and easy. As was checking out. I signed up for the rewards program while I was there.
The staff was friendly. The check-in was simple. The hotel is close to the I-135 on and off ramp. There is a variety of food choices near. There is a large variety of shopping opportunities. The hotel is not far from I-70.
Upon check=in was given a suggested local 'non-chain' restaurant and she gave us a coupon for a free dessert. I left something at the hotel and when I called the person at the front desk the next afternoon, he arranged for me to get my items overnighted. Above and beyond. The room was clean, breakfast good and we took advantage of the fitness room while there. Located a few miles from interstate, but we enjoyed a pleasant walk thru a quiet nearby neighborhood. Highly recommend.
Overall a good location, close to freeway but quiet. Good and plentiful breakfast options. Rooms were laid out well, but upon arrival I found a dirty sock from the prior guest on the floor next to the AC that had clearly been missed by the housekeeping. The shower mat in the bathroom I unrolled to put in shower and found it covered with mold - again, overlooked by housekeeping. The pillows were exceedingly lumpy little squares. Even my 7 yr old complained about the lumpy pillows. Lastly, the swimming pool, which was a deciding factor for our family to choose this hotel was green and cloudy -- not the clear and blue as it should be! If you have never swam in a pool before- you wouldn't know any better - but for those of us that have, it was a clear sign that it was not being well maintained or cleaned! yuck. Overall, cleanliness seemed to be a big issue in this hotel which is a huge factor in guest satisfaction. I would not recommend this place if you can afford something else.
Upon check in, we were assured that we would get a quiet room. Proceeded to our room that was on the street side of the hotel. Went down to the front desk and asked to be moved to the non street side and the front desk assured us it would be quiet. Guess what, it was noisy. Now, in the morning there were only about 10 cars in the parking lot so room availability was not an issue. TV was very dim and hard to view. Well worn hotel. Bed had plastic under the bottom sheet that made noises when you turn over. Generally the property needs to be updated. Not happy with the Best Western brand....Breakfast was fine in the morning. Nothing special, but OK.
Our family has stayed at this hotel for several years during family reunions. We have used at least 4 rooms each time, and have had a great experience each time we've stayed. We recommend this hotel without hesitation.
Very very marginal room. Asked for a quiet room, and got a road side room when there only a very small number of cars in the parking lot at about 9:00 AM. Asked to move to the non-road side and the front desk would not accommodate us, said our room would be quiet. Based on this experience and another Best Western Hotel in MO, would be staying at a Best Western Hotel in the future. No apparent corporate oversight of their brand. Too bad, we had a two great experiences with BW, one in Orange County CA and another in Los Angeles (by LAX). Based on those positive experiences we booked this hotel and a second night at a different location.
I was welcomed to the BW as if it was a fresh morning, though it was very late that night. I felt my arrival time was not even an issue. The lady was clear in her explanation and offered additional assurance to make my stay comfortable.
The pool area was great, even the big kids had fun. Water was warm and the kids loved the slide. Couldn't get them out. The breakfast area was one of the best on our whole trip. They had something for everyone. Great breakfast also.
The extra touches like coffee, lemon water and iced tea available in the lobby add to the niceties! The breakfast was good and the area to sit to eat was roomy! Our room had enough space to get together with my sister and her husband which was why we were there!
I will have to give it them that it appeared to be a clean room. However, it was late at night and we just needed a bed to crash in for 6 hours. I have to say though, it was pricey for in the middle of no where Kansas on a non-holiday weekend. It was quiet though. Breakfast was okay.
After a long day of driving 500+ miles on our journey back to Santa Fe, and with no reservation, we were pleasantly surprised and relieved to find this BW in Salina had a vacancy. The exterior is very inviting and it is conveniently located close to the highway and only a short drive to restaurants. The staff were very friendly and understanding that two tired souls needed a quiet room for the night.
I really enjoyed my stay at the hotel. I was only planning on a day or two, but stayed longer since the place was such a great deal and so comfortable hotel They recognized me as a diamond select and gave me a better room than I hoped. I showed up a bit late for breakfast one morning and a male staff member assisted to make sure I got something. I thought it was really nice.
While we appreciate the BW brand for quality and value, we were disappointed to learn at check-in that pets are allowed in all rooms. Although our room appeared clean, there was evidence of pet hair at doorways in common areas. My greater concern is for a policy that precludes online booking. If I have to call each location to determine whether I can book a pet-free room, I'll be more inclined to book with hotels that reserve some rooms as pet-free accommodations.
The very nice young man working the night shift went above and beyond to find the source of the beeping smoke detector with low battery in another room (keeping us awake), and replaced it) all at about 2:00 am
Very nice hotel in Salina. Close to shopping & Restaurants. Chose this hotel because we had just bought a new puppy in another state and needed an overnight stay. Accomodations were pleasant. Loved the breakfast.
Staff was very helpful. The room was comfortable, well decorated and the bed excellent. Ron at the front desk was well informed and had several excellent suggestions for restaurants and things to see. The location makes it easy to get back on the freeway and to the restaurants.
After a 700 Mile Drive I was looking forward to a nice hot shower. But first we went to Martinelli's Italian restaurant 4 dinner, and it was so dang good. Afterwards my husband took a bath and I took a walk and when I got back he told me that there was only warm water. It was 9 p.m. when he took his ONLY WARM water bath. It was 10:15 when I took a shower and the water was still only warm. This is our third time staying at this hotel. Everything is nice but dang ....how can it not have any hot water? Also this time there was no night light for the bathroom nor does the light switch glow so we were in a suite , with a king-size bed and there was only a dark tunnel headed away from us towards bathroom which is very disconcerting during the night. I don't like to leave the light on in the bathroom with the door cracked , it consumes more electricity, but when the hotel does not put up any illumination for that end of the room AND NO HOT WATER, then they lose a star.
As others have mentioned, the staff person who checked us in was so friendly and helpful! There was cold water with fresh lemon, as well as iced tea, and some pretzel snacks awaiting travelers in the lobby. The temps were hot, but the hotel had the AC on and our room was wonderfully cool when we arrived. The location of this motel (and others) is a little off the highway 70 corridor, since Salina is a little south of the highway. However, the attention to a few extras made this place awesome, and the short drive was well worth it. The price was very reasonable (weeknight stay), they accepted our dog, had a lots of green space for walking dogs, the bath and shower were large, the room was large and well-appointed. The mattress was a little soft for us, but would probably be fine for most folks. The pillows are shredded-foam types, so you can sort of smoosh them into whatever configuration you need. The morning breakfast was real scrambled eggs, bacon, tater tots, biscuits and gravy, also a waffle maker, & yogurt with all kinds of fresh fruit, nut and granola toppings - even real whipped cream! The breakfast was obviously to our liking - a great start to the day, without traveling somewhere else. We requested a room on the parking lot side (based on some other reviews), and it was nice and quiet for a good night's sleep. Stay Here!!
The good news is that it's located in a quiet area. The bad news is that it seriously lacked attention to detail...halls needed vacuuming, dents in walls, spills on lobby floor that weren't cleaned up, etc. It also had a creep factor and I was glad to leave and continue on east.
This facility is right off the interstate but is very quiet. The room rate is very responsible. The employees are friendly and helpful, especially Vicki. She really makes you feel at home and is willing to help you with anything you may need. They also have freshly baked cookies in the lobby. We were upgraded to a suite which a was very nice. The room was large with a bed, sofa bed, work table, and coffee table. The bed was very comfortable and we had a great nights sleep. They also have a indoor pool with a slide which would be great for kids. The breakfast had a good selection and you can eat all you want. I would highly recommend this facility if you are on the area.
Best Western, in Salina, fits in with the rest of the Best Westerns I have stayed at. I recommend it to any one. Very professional people. Clean inside and outside. Super rates.Easy to find off I135. Great amneties. Great place to stay.
This is an excellent choice for Salina and a wonderful quiet location just off I-35. I would highly recommend it as it is super clean, fresh rooms, and everyhing you expect for an excellent stay. The pool even has a water slide into the water and the kids were having a ball. Comfortable bed, super clean room and hallway that looks totally updated. Great breakfast and 24 hr. coffee and drink. So why no five star rating...the wifi internet connection was not working and that is a no-no for us. Fortunately they do have a hard wire connection available and we had the cable, probably an unusual occurrence for this facility but that is a demerit!
Room was quiet, clean and nicely appointed. Bed and pillows were comfortable. Hot breakfast was delicious with a good selection. The staff was warm, friendly and attentive. We will definitely stay here again.
This Best Western is a nice, clean hotel fora great price for those traveling across Kansas. My wife especially likes it being a few miles away from the interstate for her safety when she is traveling alone.
Less than 90.00 for a clean quite, spacious room. Great service and good breakfast. Will stay again next year. Discount with AAA, aarp or best western rewards card brought our rate below 80.00. Best deal on this trip.
If you stay at a less expensive hotel, you're missing out. The Best Western Plus in Salina, KS, is a very nice operation for a very reasonable price. The staff are pleasant, everything in the room works (yes, everything), the shower wonderful and it's just far enough from the freeway that it's quiet!
We found this motel to meet our needs in many ways. Would highly recommend this facility for families and for business or pleasure. Well located with easy access to highways, to dining and to destinations. The friendliness of the staff, the immediate attention received were welcome. The quiet atmosphere, the comfort of the room added immeasurably to our pleasurable visit.
Was trying to find a clean place to stay for the night on a cross country road trip with my dad. Kansas seems to have a low standard of cleanliness in general but this room was just nasty. I think the hotel was built in the 70s and never remodeled (or cleaned). The first thing I saw when I went by the bed was a fingernail clipping on the dusty clock radio. So so gross. The place had a vibe consistent with a seedy motel.
Looked better on the website picture. A lot older facility than I expected. Staff was friendly enough. Location was OK, easy on, easy off for highway access. Plenty of eating establishments, good variety of types. I would not make this a must-stop location for future travel.
We found this hotel off the beaten track of I-70 and were very happy to find it. it's a fairly quiet neighborhood except for the traffic on Schilling Rd. I've asked a couple of times but have not been given a room on the side of the hotel away from Schilling Rd - next time I will be more insistent. I would like to see one more choice in coffee creamers but that's just my personal thing. The breakfast quality is average - could stand to be little better quality. Front desk is usually very friendly and welcoming. All in all, it's a good hotel for a quick overnight stay.
Good clean affordable accommodations for a family of four. Nice breakfast, too. Quiet room. Queen beds okay, bathroom was clean. Easy access from and to Interstate-70. Walmart and shopping center near by.
I stay here for business quite often and it never disappoints me. Beds are comfy, staff is awesome, and the breakfast is one of the best hotel breakfasts I have had (real eggs!)! Its right next to a bus stop so riding around towns easy!
Very well maintained property, clean and welcoming. The staff is very friendly and helpful. I found the rooms to be more than adequate...clean, roomy and comfortable . Breakfast was very satisfying and well presented. I would definitely stay here again
Nice older property that has been updated. Clean and convenient. Only issues were no coffee lids in room, breakfast service had no waffle batter. The person manning the front desk was also responsible for the breakfast area. If coffee canisters had coffee it was warm at best and mostly cold.
Very clean. Staff friendly. Enjoyed our stay.. Travelling so needed a comfortable bed and guilt. It worked well for us. Would definitely recommend staying here. We were offered snacks or 500 bonus points for being members. We really appreciated being recognized.
This hotel is perfect next time I need to stay in salina I'll stay here again. The pool has a giant slide, the rooms are clean, the breakfast was amazing, and the hottub in my room was perfect, don't stay anywhere else!
Our stay was highlighted by the manager at the time who alerted us of a possible tornado and outlined the procedures that would be followed. The room itself was comfortable and quiet. The breakfast was fine.
I'm going to exhaust you with fair details. The positives: room was clean. The slide in the pool made all my children happy (ages2-13) (I brought my own floatie for 2 yr old). The breakfast was nice and had a variety that satisfied all. The staff were very nice and accommodating. Very close to food (pizza!!) and can walk to convenience store across street for necessities. Negative: they were having an obvious plumbing problem that made the elevator smell awful. But everyone has issues, right? Hopefully this was a random weird problem. I would give them another try. And thus my rating. I feel like without that I would have been totally satisfied.
Our family stayed at this hotel over the last weekend while attending a wedding. We choose the BW Plus because of our past experience at this brand. The front desk staff was very helpful and friendly & the lobby was well maintained. But, the room cleanliness was lacking-I found 3 bugs in the corner of the bathroom, window sills were dirty, and the hallways smelled strange. The Plus was not evident.
The hotel staff was friendly. Room it was fine, bathroom could use updated. We were disappointed the pool slide was not operational, this was one of the reason we selected the hotel. The rate seemed high for the room.
This BW Suites Plus indicated a high quality, but it was below average. The hallways were not cleaned, Lint remained on the room carpet after servicing. The breakfast service was continually short of the most basic food. Milk, juice, yogurt and breads. One evening clerk said this customer was lying when the room had not been cleaned.
My wife and I along with 2 of our children were on our way to Colorado and did not want to drive all night. We arrived around 8 and the staff was very helpful in getting us settled in and suggesting a place to eat dinner. Next morning the breakfast room was packed and the staff was hustling to accommodate all. We were in no hurry and waited as the staff kept up with all the food offerings.. I would recommend this place to anyone that was stopping in Salina.
Easy access to hotel with plenty of parking. The front desk lady was very sweet. I found the room very nice. And no perfume smells- just smelled clean, I found the water temperature good and the slide) was a bonus!! I will recommend this location.
Very nice hotel a little off 70 but good Pool was not the cleanest at all needed a lot of TLC but great time. Our bothroom was a sauna but if felt good after the cold pool. All in all it was a great expierence and I have been there twice now and plan to make it once a year when we drive through!
The hallways, lobby, elevator and breakfast were very dirty. There was little apparent effort to keep these areas clean. The room on the other hand was well appointed and clean. The bed was very comfortable. The bathroom fan did not work.
the motel was not prepared to serve breakfast to the number of people staying there. the slide is a nice feature to the pool area. it is old and needs some maintenance. the lobby area is very inviting and the refreshment table is homey.
This best western is a nice clean hotel, that is easy to access from the interstate. It is also located close to many good eating places. If a person has kids the pool would be a lot of fun for them. A small water slide would be a nice finish to the day,to run off some travel energy.
I found the facility to offer an exceptional value for the fees charged. Much better then other facilities I have stayed at. The breakfast each morning was very good. The staff very friendly and welcoming from the housekeeping staff to the front disk personnel.
was on our way to south Dakota when we stopped for the night was very pleased with our room very clean and well kept the staff was very friendly and would recommend this hotel breakfast was very good but they need one person taking care of refilling breakfast foods
It was a nice stay with very helpful staff. It was a very quiet area with restaurants nearby. It was a in a good location due to being relative close to several interstates. We will stay here again if in this area again.
After checkin we walked down the hall and were greeted by a humid sewer smell near the pool area. After that wonderful experience we got in our room. Flushing the toilet unveiled a new feature that sounded like somebody jack hammering to get the water filled back up. The room was MUSTY and very humid. Later when we got in bed the sheets felt WET from all the humidity. More humid inside than out and the curtains were stained. The pillows were very hard. If you want breakfast get there before 9 (not 9:30 as advertised). Otherwise you'll be scrounging for scraps or eating dry cereal. The positives are that the receptionist was very helpful and got us checked in quickly. The grounds are well kept and the building exterior is nice. That's why I gave it 2 stars instead of 1.
The draw to this hotel was its water slide. My husband loves them. It was our anniversary and we were traveling so we took advantage of the room with a jacuzzi in it as a special gift to us. The water wasn't hot and it took forever to fill.
Property was well taken care of. Rooms were clean an spacious. Bathroom fairly large. Pool nice. Breakfast great and good selection. Friendly and helpful staff. Easy to find. Close to interstate and attractions.
Terrible breakfast. Odor in elevator. Toilet made a loud honking noise each time it was flushed. Slide was fun, but the pool water was cloudy and pool walls were dirty. Bad smell in the elevator. Spend more money and stay somewhere else.
We stopped here on our way back from our 2 week trip, this was our last night on the road. The hotel is a good hotel but if you need the Internet I hope you have better luck then we had. We never even got connected and the net work wasn't even a choice on either our computer or phone. We tried calling the front desk twice to get help with it but they never answered. I let them know in the morning when we checked out but all they said was that is weird because they never have a problem when they connect to it. Other then that it is a nice hotel for a nights rest.
The hotel is understaff. Checked in at 4:00 pm and asked for additional bath towel, none available, dryer broke. Breakfast had one staff, cooking, clean, coffee, table,no natkins in hotel, she was awesome considering alone. Check in staff absence.
Our entire experience at this Best Western was very positive. The staff was very kind & helpful. The hotel was clean and comfortable. We wished we'd gotten to the hotel earlier so we had time to play in the pool area, which looked beautiful. We stayed at this location while traveling through from one point to another, which sadly didn't offer us as much time there as possible. The breakfast spread was great, except for tater tots which were a little bit dry. We didn't need those anyway. =)
Stayed one night while traveling to Colorado. Clean & Quiet room and for that matter a quiet hotel overall! Friendly and efficient staff! Good parking. Right off I-135 and a few miles south of 1-70! Breakfast was good! Price of room was very reasonable and would stay here in this area again!
This is the only place I stay in Salina. The rooms are large, spacious, and clean, and the service is great. This trip I had a problem with my shower and when I went to the front desk to let them know it was fixed before l left the building. The breakfast is great, a lot of variety and fresh. It has a perfect location and I will always stay there.
Ron was our check in person and he was very informative. Very helpful on what was going on in the local area. Definitely will stay again. We just passed through on our way to Texas. The room was clean and we were too tired to use the pool but it looked like fun with a great waterslide. Breakfast was normal with waffles, eggs, bacon, potatoes and sausage gravy with oatmeal and yogurt with fresh fruit.
Just a couple miles away from I 70 off I 135. Well worth the extra miles. Friendly staff. Wanted catfish for dinner and was sent to great place by front desk. Clean and updated. Will be back when need room in area.
This is a wonderful hotel. Our rooms were very nice, very quiet, with comfy beds, and everything was super clean and best of all the cost was less than $80/night. In addition, the staff was very friendly and helpful. Overall, the service and value of this hotel was exceptional. We stayed in another BWP in our next destination, and it was just as wonderful. I loved both and will definitely do my best to choose a Best Western Plus where ever I travel.
Excellent property. Happy with every aspect of our stay - i.e - room, location, staff, etc. Excellent Wi-Fi. Blizzard hit on night of 4/30 & shut down I-70 West. We had to stay until almost ck-out time before highways were opened. Hotel was full of stranded travelers. Would definitely stay there again and recommend it to everyone.
Everyone on the staff went the extra mile to make our stay enjoyable. The breakfast was not as nice as it could have been. Some items cold. But overall it was acceptable. Inter net didn't work in our room but the young lady at the desk quickly fixed that. Overall It was a very pleasant stay. Would definitely stay there again and would recommend it to anyone traveling in that area. Especially veterans or service personnel.
This is the first Best Western Plus that I have stayed in where I was disappointed in my stay. The room was excellent, the staff friendly and efficient, bed was good and little noise. What was disappointing was lack of staff on a very busy graduation week and the lack of staff when the hotel was full. The breakfast area in particular appeared understaffed and it appeared the desk clerk was having to leave the desk and help in the breakfast area. The hot food buffet ran out of food way before closing time on the day of graduation. Management should prepare to add more staff on weeks where there are special events in town or when they have a full house. Also, the internet service was really bad, but I was told it was because some type of work was being done in the area and it would soon be improved.
As platinum members we know Best Western well. Firstly the plus points - fitness room is compact but functional. There is an indoor pool. We has a king bedroom suite which was of good size. Minus points - the mattress on the bed was inside a thick plastic bag. The kind you would have to protect the mattress for anyone wetting the bed. Therefore there was cracking sound whenever you moved in bed. The bed felt like we were sleeping on a thick plastic sheet mainly because we were! On closer inspection were the sheets fresh? The pillows were made of foam pieces therefor lumpy. The towels were old, thin and 2 of them had threads hanging off. In addition 3 of them had stains. Never thought we would say this about a Best Western but in the area there is plenty of choice - we advise you choose elsewhere.
Stayed there for one night. Room has Micro, Fridge, Iron, Ironing board. Updated old school room. Seperate sink from bathroom, which I love. New appointments in room were up to date and nice. DIDN'T like the under the covers plastic mattress cover...I would call it slip sliding away! I toss and turn at night, had to get up and remake the bed slightly. Probably not a big problem for most. They did have a data charger bedside, which is awesome. Wish every room did. Had a free hot breakfast that I did not take advantage of. The pool looked great with a slide for the kids and it was indoor.
The hotel was clean and was a nice place to stay with my students for 1A state forensics tournament. The pool was not working when we got there, but they opened it about 9 pm for an hour. We had one regular room and one suite. The couch bed in the suite was not very comfortable and smelled a bit.
Was very clean, staff was very helpful. Rooms are a bit noisy, but comfortable. Close to shopping. Staff was helpful in recommending an excellent place to eat. This was my second stay this year. I would stay again
We stayed in Salina on our way to and from an east coast road trip. Our stay here was on the return trip and we were very pleased with this hotel. Our room was spacious and comfortable and very clean. The night clerk was friendly and we felt very welcome and comfortable. Breakfast was hot and fresh and the coffee was good too.
Our room was clean. The hallway to our room was clean. The lobby needs some attention. The corners and entry need a good cleaning. The elevator was grungy, bordering on filthy. It needs a complete and detailed scrubbing. It was bad!
This is a good choice when travelling through Salina. Very nice facility, very clean, quiet, well-located and close to just about everything a person could need (restaurants, convenience stores, retail). Very friendly and helpful staff and management. I recommend it.
Hotel was not very clean, arrived downstairs for breakfast at 8:58 to no food and to be told the employee had went home sick. Daughter had a waffle, two days into our vacation she was so very sick. Man behind counter was not very nice.
We stayed before and after spring break this month. There was a blizzard in Colorado which knocked us back a day and the hotel graciously let us show up a day late. Our room was smaller but they were willing to work with us when the third party website could not help us. Spacious rooms suite or regular. We had plenty of space during second stay with smaller room (3 adults/3 children). If you stay asked for an odd number room so you do not stay on the even side with the pool. Our first room you could hear the splash and joy from the pool (closes at 10 pm). Great breakfast with variety including strawberry or blueberry flavored waffle batter. Will definitely stay here again. Amazing staff.
We've stayed here several times in the last year and have always had a good experience. Hotel has always been clean and comfortable, but this last time we had no hot water our last night there, and one of the breakfast items was tough and seemed to have been around for awhile. Other than that the room was clean and comfortable and everyone there was helpful and friendly. Except for the problem with the water on our last night there we would still recommend this hotel.
While we appreciate that this Best Western was pet friendly, it was NOT a PLUS. I wonder when the room carpet was last shampooed. Our dog could not settle down because of all the smells. Then, at the breakfast bar: the hot food was not replenished (and we were there at 8:00 a.m.!) and the trash was overflowing. My husband looked in the prep room for the staff. No one was there; it was also a mess. :( Only as we were leaving did the reception clerk come into the dining area and laughed when I told her about the trash. Very disappointing.
Stayed here eight nights while bird hunting in the area. Very clean and comfortable and pet friendly for my hunting buddy. There are some grassy areas outside the convenient side entrance (so rowdy dogs don't have to go through the lobby) but a better place to walk your dog is the grassy field across the street (until something gets built there, just a matter of time). The manager even allowed me to keep a few frozen birds in the hotel freezer (cleaned and vacuum packed, in case the Food Police or Corporate Office are reading) which was a major plus. Great location just off I-135 with just about every casual dining chain restaurant (plus a couple of good local places) within a couple of miles - plenty to keep you going for a week. Plus found a local place nearby to get dry ice - just google "salina dry ice". Will definitely stay here again when hunting in the area.
I had a very wonderful stay the rooms were very nice clean bathrooms the bed was awesome the staff is really good, if you're ever in this area I would definitely stop by, reasonable rates, the breakfast was very good you had a variety to choose from internet was working good
we stayed at this Best Western for business. The hotel overal was nice but only dealt with one employee that barely spoke to me. The room was unclean. Previously someone has trimmed their beard and hair and was all around the sink and faucet. The shower had been painted and was chipping while I showered. Trash had been left behind by previous customer and must not have been noticed. Not satisfied at all. Not my normal Best Western experience as that's the only hotel chain I use.
Polite, professional staff; fresh, hot breakfast. Fitness area and indoor pool make for an excellent value for the money. I have stayed at this location several times in the last 3-4 years and have been pleased each time.
Good value for a conveniently located hotel. Very comfortable room, well maintained with nice furnishings. Cold and hot buffet breakfast was quite good. Hotel staff was very friendly and accommodating.
We were driving home and stopped here to stay the night. I booked the hotel 2 hours away and when we arrived everything was ready for us. Our room was spacious and clean. The guy at the front desk was very friendly and knowledgable. It was a great stay even though we were there a short amount of time.
We really enjoyed our stay here so much we stayed an extra night. Hotel was very clean and breakfast wasn't too bad, muffins were great! The kids loved the pool! The only thing I can say is the dryer doesn't dry very well and I had to run it twice to get a small load dry. If you stay in Salina make sure you visit Rolling Hills Zoo and Museum it was outstanding.
Booked a suite for while in town to see Celtic Thunder in concert. Hotel was great once we found it! Guess we came into town from the north and needed to be in the south end. Great check in and very quick. Room had everything you could need. Pretty decent breakfast and lots of shopping and dining in area. Pretty close to theater as well. Would certainly stay here again!
My first choice when staying in Salina is the Best Western Plus. Staff is great. Hotel and rooms are always clean and comfortable. Breakfast is nice as well, I like the fact that they use fresh eggs when making the scrambled eggs, a lot of places use powdered eggs which in my opinion taste terrible.
After reading reviews on this hotel we decided it was the best hotel to stay in Salina, Kansas. They were advertising $78 on website and when we called... after driving from Oklahoma we stopped around 11 pm she said they had one room left for $99 after our aaa discount and hotel points it was $81 and after the taxes and fees it was $97.. no bad. The front desk lady was very friendly we got our room which ended up being two fulls instead of the queens we asked for, we were by the laundry room and someone was drying jeans which was very loud (11:45 pm now), the room next to us either checked in or came back to the hotel around 1 and we could hear every word the hotel was not sound proof at all. The pillows we old and lumpy. Went to take a shower there was still hair in tub and a huge crack, very disappointed (pictures below),no hair dryer so when we called the front desk they didn't answer went down for breakfast and there were 3 of them very rude when I asked if the phone wasn't working asked for a hair dryer they said they would have to call someone and try to find one, breakfast wasn't too bad overall not worth the money we won't stay here again.
Great staff Pool was excellent for children. Coffee in lobby around the clock. Breakfast was a hit . Options for the whole family. Waffles ROCK, fresh fruit no matter your diet requirements it was met
One of the nicest BW hotels I have stayed in. It is an older building but has been upgraded and is very modern. Rooms had MW and fridge, very comfortable beds, large bathroom in suite, It provided 24-hour lemon water, coffee and snacks in lobby. Breakfast was typically good BW assortment with good service. Nice location off Interstate 135, near restaurants and shopping.
This Best Western lives up to the high standard set by the Best Western system. The room was spotless though the sheets could be replaced soon. The full breakfast had a good assortment of items, which were hot and as good as some restaurants. We will remember this location on any future trips through Kansas.
My wife said the bed was very comfortable. I wasn't able to sleep in it for more than an hour due to a very bad back. Breakfasts were hot with several choices, just the way I like them. They have an indoor pool with a slide. I wish I had brought my swim suit. It looked inviting. Be very careful when checking out should you use points. They automatically charge your room to your card without applying the points first. By the time my wife got the front desk to understand how the bill was to be distributed (points and card) they had already charged the stay to our card. My wife had to spend quite a bit of time with the 877 customer service only to be told the best they could do to get the bill straightened up would take 4 - 5 business days. We had to dip into alternate funds in order to get home. Pay close attention when checking out otherwise you will suffer the same consequences as we did. All in all with exception of the checkout fiasco we enjoyed our stay.
We asked for a top floor room, which we got. The linens aren't the best. They fill kind of pilly. And the pillows are not standard size, they are small. It did have a device attached to the desk to allow charging of a variety of electronic devices at once. Both rooms we stayed in (coming and going) the bathroom sink faucets had the hot and cold water reversed from normal. (cold water on left and hot on right). Strange. The breakfast was good both mornings, but the breakfast room needs to be larger. It got very crowded, not enough tables for everyone. Tissues were not supplied in one of the rooms. Very loud air conditioner is one room also. The swimming pool did have a slide, a plus if you have children traveling with you.
Super clean room. Slept very well in the comfortable bed. The next morning's shower was very relaxing. They also have quite a few nice amenities, like an in-room coffe maker ans a complimentary breakfast.....with an unbelievably great weekday rate...
Very nice updated hotel. Very comfortable beds and wonderful room décor. Large parking area. Room fee was reasonable, however taxes seemed a bit high. Excellent breakfast and nice, clean area to dine in.
I was very impressed by the helpfulness of the desk staff when I made my reservation. There was some difficulty when we arrived in finding the reservation, but all ended well--I think there was a computer glitch. We had two other minor issues, both of which were promptly addressed by the staff: our refrigerator didn't work, and there were showerhead issues. The facility is nicely decorated, conveniently located to excellent dining, and staffed by folks who go out of their way to be helpful. We'd surely stay there again.
Me and my husband stayed at this hotel on our way to Colorado. They were very friendly at the front desk when he checked in. The room was very nice and clean. We had a refrigerator, microwave, coffee pot, hair dryer, all the goodies! The bed was comfortable and we both slept very good! They had breakfast the next morning for their guest which had a little bit of everything and was very good! We enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay here again and recommend it to everyone!
There were a few issues. Our room was very nice except for bathroom sink being broken and the beautiful, new shower having no place to place soap or anything else. Doors not installed correctly. We had a wonderful breakfast. This was worth the money and great service! They could step it up one notch!
I stay at this hotel every two weeks when I am in Salina. I can not say enough about Lonie and Vicki. They always have a smile very plesent and always go out of their way to take care of me. I stay in hotels 100 nights a year and this one by far is the BEST. If you are staying in Salina this is the place to stay. Pool, hot breakfast and more. Dont pass on staying here.
I've stayed at the Salina Best Western several times in the last few years. The staff is always pleasant and helpful. For the trips I have made, Salina is a perfect distance from Denver on my first day out.
Booked while en route from Wichita, following an unexpected visit to the ER there. Rooms were perfectly suited to our needs; clean, quiet and very comfortable. All staff were helpful and friendly. Great location; would gladly stay here again.
We stayed here on our way home from Cheyenne, WY. The room was very clean and spacious. The people are great and the so was the breakfast. Would definitely recommend for those traveling to Salina. If we are ever up that way again we would certainly stay again.
I was really impressed with my recent stay here. It's clean, the staff are so courteous and it's located a block from the highway so you can get on and off easily but you're not right next to all the traffic and noise. There's a drink station with cool beverages and snacks or coffee depending on the time of day and the hot breakfast was great - real breakfast food like eggs, bacon, biscuits and gravy. There's also a very nice indoor pool with water slide and a good-sized workout room (I didn't use either during our overnight but it you're staying there for a few days I can see enjoying both). I kept thinking what a great space it would be for a family trip or a reunion because Salina is a great town and this is a great hotel to bring the whole family to. Also, we were traveling with a cat and the beds don't have space underneath them for animals to hide - a big factor for us when choosing a place on this trip.
room 208 King N/ S We booked this room while enroute on I-70; pleasantly surprised at location away from highway yet not too far. It was clean and had all the required ammenities. The check-in man was a bit distracted by the phone as he was checking us in ( this seems to be the norm at most of the places we stay) yet he got us in fairly promptly and with a good attitude. As a very brief and ok stay it is hard to give more than an average rating but there was nothing wrong and nothing outstanding. It was what we needed for the stop on a long roadtrip.
stayed her recently and were pleased with everything as usual. best western always lives up to our expectations and exceed them. breakfast was great and the room was very clean. the hotel has a very fresh smell inside we enjoyed the air freshener lol
Very nice. Front desk person was super nice and helpful. Room was very clean and was very comfortable. Good location just off the highway and close restaurants, etc. Front desk clerk made a great recommendation for a place to eat. (Tucson's Steakhouse).
A great place to stay after a long days drive. This hotel is really a diamond on the prairie. The hotel is very nice, our room was a suite with plenty of room to rest and watch some TV or read a good book. The restaurant strip is quite close and has a great variety to choose from whether you like pasta, steaks or fast food you will find it all within about 2 miles of the hotel. For your start the next morning fill up gas stations right across the street and a quick re-entry to the Interstate. We will keep this one in our pocket for the next time we travel this way.
I am used to staying at Holiday Inn Express hotels and so this was my first experience at a Best Western. I was not very happy. While they did have a free hot breakfast including French Vanilla Coffee Mate, I found the hotel dark, old and musty. It was clear they were trying to spruce it up but just wasn't quite there yet. They did offer a good Military Rate which is why we tried it but I would not stay here again.
Upon arrival we were greeted by the hotel's "manager".(Loni) She was rude and unkempt. She looked like she had just got up from a nap. We barely got the details about the accommodations the hotel provides and we left the desk confused. The pool was not working and was closed. We got a strange voicemail from the manager about the pool. Our room smelled like an animal shelter. Vicki at the front desk later in the evening was very pleasant, but did not make up for the experience we had in the early afternoon. My husband wondered if she wasn't drunk. If we travel through this area again we will definitely not be staying at this Best Western.
Very nice hotel. Off the freeway a few miles which was great because it was quit. Bed was extremely comfortable. Room was clean. We were updated to a suite which was wonderful. Love that it is a pet friendly hotel. At check in they put us on the ground level near an exit - easier for taking the dog out. Breakfast was good.
I had to stay in Salina over the weekend on a business trip! So glad I chose a Best Western! The pool was closed for maintenance but the staff made up for it with an amazing breakfast. James at the front desk was so helpful and really knows his stuff when it comes to hospitality! Helped me find a hotel further along on my trip home and was nothing but smiles!
Hotel is very nice and clean. Staff is very good. Cold water and tea in the lobby. Paper in the lobby. Comfortable beds. Plenty of restaurants around for dinner or breakfast. Typical very poor hot food. Food was in the warmer at 545. Breakfast served at 630.
We had a perfectly acceptable stay at the Best Western. We were driving from Colorado to New York with our dog and needed a clean, affordable place to rest our heads. The Best Western in Salina fit the bill perfectly. We had no problems and were comfortable. Dinner was easy to find nearby.
The hotel has recently been remodeled. The lobby, breakfast room were nice. The room was spacious with a microwave and refrigerator. Nice bathroom. There is an indoor pool with a slide and also a fitness room. The staff are excellent. We stayed there on our way up to South Dakota. Because of our nice experience, we stayed there again on our way back home.
We stayed one night on a drive west from St. Louis. The staff was nice. The breakfast was a bit better than average. But the bed in the room was uncomfortable, the bathroom needs an exhaust fan and the internet didn't work until we called an offsite technical support company.
We were given the wrong room number to an already occupied key. The front desk was not friendly. Half cut pretzels were out for snacking if needed and it looked sad. Our mattress pad had old blood stains that were on it. The elevator smells dingy. Stay away from the yogurt for breakfast. We did not have an iron in the room and it was truly overpriced.
The staff (mainly James) the morning of Aug 7, 2016, was completely unprofessional. They ran out of numerous breakfast items and even though they replenished these items when I brought it to their attention (I believe I did this politely), they did so in a very unpleasant and unprofessional manner. I requested from James a late check out and James allowed our family to stay until 11:30a. We checked out promptly at 11:30a. At check out James accused my children of making a mess with ice from the ice machine, including spreading ice into the business center. My children denied this incident. I had no knowledge of this incident until James mentioned it at check out. He expressed his disgust with his demeanor, tone of voice and comments. I believe James was frustrated with me for some reason (maybe the breakfast incident). I was not aware of his frustration until checkout. If he was unhappy with my children's behavior, I would have preferred he brought it to my attention when the incident occurred so I could have corrected my children's actions at that time. Because he did not handle it correctly, it basically appeared to be a false accusation. James' comments and behavior took me completely by surprise. Needless to say, what good experience we did have at the hotel was completely overshadowed at the last moment during check out.
I cancelled my flight from Denver to Atlanta to help my 21 year old son drive an antique Chevy Cheyenne 3/4 ton farm pick up truck he inherited from my dad in Wyoming. We drive 1600 miles in a route across Kansas...with no air conditioning! It was 105 degrees. Drew said it was like a desert. I had reservations at Best Western... when we rolled in to Salinas' Best Western I felt like the guy in the desert crawling to the pool in the sand! The service and staff were great. The manager runs a tight ship with staff who love her. Will stay there again.
Hotel was all the things you want it to be - friendly, clean, comfy beds, enough towels and a nice breakfast. The pool is what made this the BEST hotel on the 3-wk trip in our grandson's eyes. It has the coolest round slide ever (according to him). Great way to end a trip.
Very unhappy that motel gave our disability room to someone else with the same last name, different first names. Their receipt showed our first and last name. ID must not mean to much or name on credit card as they certainly did not match the reservation that was made. When we arrived and informed them that was not our first name they found the mistake and said well maybe you could just ask them to switch rooms with you. They did not explain the first name and credit card difference. Very poor when it comes to identify and security of our credit card given for payment.
What an amazing stay. Read the reviews and was ok to risk the negatives. The front desk lady couldn't have been friendlier and helpful. She pointed out the grassy area for my dog and was happy he was staying ($20 dog fee). They also have pretzels and iced tea all day, which I thought was a nice touch. Beautiful breakfast, something for all, plus a bag on the go if you don't have time to sit for breakfast. Nice spacious rooms with lots of pillows. We had a 2 queen non smoker. I would stay again.
I have stayed at this hotel twice and both times have had excellent experiences. It has great access and is friendly and clean. It is also pet-friendly and quite accommodating. The breakfast is delicious and has many options. There are lots of seats and it is very comfortable. The beds are SUPER comfy.
Great place for kids. Indoor pool with a huge slide. Great place for the kiddos to burn off some energy. Close by to lots of restaurants and stores. Pet friendly. Breakfast was okay but the pool made up for it.
This is now our favorite place to stop during our travels between Colorado and St Louis. We've stayed here three times now and the staff is always friendly and helpful, the rooms are clean and comfortable, the breakfast is plentiful and filling, and the pool is cool and inviting (with a slide the kids love).
I have stayed at this Best Western several times and it is constantly a very good experience. The rooms are spacious and kept very clean. The beds are MAJOR comfortable and there are always extra pillows. The breakfast is simple but effective and well presented. The staff is very nice and accommodating and I recommend this Best Western.
Quick overnight stay while traveling to Denver, greeted by friendly welcoming staff. Clean rooms, complimentary cold beverages in lobby, very acceptable hot breakfast in the morning, reasonable rates. Very good restaurants and shopping close.
Great place to stay, Has a great pool with a slide. Nice clean and quiet rooms and free Breakfast. Easy access off the highway. Good coffee and good service. Plenty of parking and lighted. I was pulling a trailer so I had an easy in and out with security.
We stayed there last year and it was really nice, this year not so much. Front desk guy was not very pleasant. Room had an Oreo on the floor when we came in and then the ac didn't work, my parents room had a piece of sausage on the carpet, breakfast was ok, tv wouldn't work and the Internet didn't either, it's gone way down, didn't stay
The hotel is alright, the waterslide was a hit with my 6 year old. It was ranked #2 for hotels in Salina and I saw several much newer, nicer places than this. It felt a little tired and had a funky smell throughout. Might have been the indoor pool.
The staff was courteous, the hotel was right off the highway and close to good dining options, as well as a gas station, but quiet. The neighbourhood is decent and pleasant to walk around. The waterslide is fantastic, and there were several good and hot breakfast options. They were mindful of our online requests, though I made reservations far in advance. So far, the best place I have stayed in my years visiting Salina.
This is a great place to stay , staff so helpful and breakfast was super also, easy on and off to get to also. seemed real quiet in the area we slept well , pool has a super slide and we all liked it for that also made the stay very nice . The area has lot of great places to eat close to the motel good and nice stay
About 6 miles south of I-70, very quiet area, next door to Casey's gen store and a quick drive west of Walmart and restaurants. We stay here every time we travel from CO to MO, but haven't been here for a couple of years. Arrived 7/1/16. We thought we had a problem with the A/C and the nice man at the front desk came right away to check on it. It was fine. Good bed and pillows. Shower/tub/toilet are in room across from the sink/counter. I don't particularly like this, but that's how a lot of hotels are. The usual amenities, soaps, shampoo/cond, hair dryer, iron, nice flat screen TV, A/C was very quiet; frig, coffee maker; free internet. They've added a great slide to the pool. Breakfast is very good. Highly recommend BW Midwest Inn and Suites.
A nice play to stay, clean, conveniently located to restuarants and other shopping. Comfortable bed, good breakfast service and internet worked very well. Easy on and off from I-135. Easy parking and entry.
You get what you pay for at this hotel. Although we were "upgraded" when we reserved the room over the phone from our car, we did't really ask for the tacky jacuzzi in the room. The tub was the size of a grand piano and looked somewhat scuzzy, with water still on the bottom and a few tiles missing from its setting. Check in clerks very friendly and efficient, and the coffee was decent. Not sure of the bathroom layout, with shower/tub and toilet in one room and sink/mirror/hair dryer across the hallway.
My granddaughter and I spent the night there arriving late on a Saturday night. Our room was ready and the pullout couch even had sheets already on it! That's a nice touch when you're tired. I received pillows with fresh out of the drier pillow cases for the couch. The front desk was very gracious in handling closing down the pool due to lightening( lots in the area. There appeared to be several families there enjoying the enclosed dining/ meeting room. The amenities included a nice sized fridge. The room was very clean and a great size. The furnishings were new and the beds were very comfortable. Our only complain was a slightly musty smell in the room. Not sure if it was the air conditioning unit or not.
We arrived exhausted and fairly late. The desk clerk was pleasant, but we found, when we dragged ourselves and bags upstairs, that the room card key would not open the door. Went back down and had to call the clerk, who had retired elsewhere. She apologised and said that room was being renovated and she forgot that when issuing it. She gave us another card for another room -- larger, she said, as an apology. It was fine and must have been a renovated one, as it was in better shape than the hallway. So in the end the room was fine. Breakfast buffet selection was poor though (and well picked over) and the room where it was set up could not hold everyone who was there for breakfast.
Average for a Best Western Plus. Would not want to stay more than two nights at this hotel. The pool chemicals odors sort of took over the lobby area. The pool was very cloudy which means the chemicals may not have been kept up to date.
Very clean and comfortable beds. Fresh paint and newer carpet in our king suite. King size bed, sofa, coffee table, chair and table. Lots of room to spread out and plenty of plugs for all of our electronics. Very nice breakfast with fresh hot items and all of the usual offerings.
Extremely dissatisfied with room, and especially, the very rude and hateful night clerk. The sink in room 218 was not draining properly and had been reported before. The shower room was like a steam bath with no air available. The air conditioner did not function properly to cool the room. The night clerk was the most rude, hateful, and disrespectful we have ever encountered.
Clean room, helpful staff a good place. Easy to get to but parking lot was a little small. After a long drive this place really fit the bill. When I placed the reservation I asked for a room that was wheelchair accessible and they really came through. There was a shower chair for my wife who is 90% wheelchair bound . This was a real help. We will be staying here on our way back.
Great stop for someone who is staying in Salina but not ideal for an I-70 traveler. The place is comfortable and even has a pool with a slide if you have kids. Good price and the breakfast is what you come to expect now in most places. Very friendly staff
Easy check in. Friendly desk clerk. Room is modern, with good electrical hookups. Very clean, with comfortable bed. Bathtub shower could have used a grab bar because it was a bit slippery. Very dog friendly. Breakfast selections were quite limited. Would highly recommend and would stay there again.
This hotel room was very clean and comfortable but the common areas need more attention. We encountered two oriental crawlers and suggest you be cautious about your luggage. I would change the service contractor for pests immediately! The elevator was dirty and so were the common hallways on first floor.
This was a great stopping point on our way through. The check in clerk was super nice! The room was fine, the AC seemed to not circulate very well. We came in and the bathroom and front room was stuffy and warm. The pool area was fun, but seemed in need of a good cleaning. I'm the only one who seemed to notice out of our family, but I thought the pool water and shower/sink water had a very odd smell. The breakfast was great, lots of different options. Overall it was just fine for our one night stay and we tend to stick with Best Westerns, so we probably would stay again.
We stayed in Room 201, a King “suite” with sofa bed, for $109 (with AAA rate). The older gentleman at the front desk almost seemed like he was sentenced to the innkeeper duties. He checked us in fine, but he did not seem like he wanted to be there. The room is equipped with a 40” flat screen TV. The term “suite” is deceptive as this is all a single room. The room seemed a bit cramped – especially if the sofa bed was opened. It was a little difficult to pass between the extended sofa bed and the desk – especially at night if you needed to use the restroom. In fact, this appears to be an older property and was probably once a hotel under a different brand name. I had no concerns about safety or the security of our vehicle. There is an indoor swimming pool with a water slide, but the kids didn't behave to get to use it. I used the fitness center and it was adequate. The internet worked OK. The breakfast was very good. My hat is off the lady that provided and maintained the breakfast offering. She did a great job to make sure that all items were available. She is an asset to this property. TIP: There is a Casey's convenience store across the street, should you need a drink, snack, gasoline, etc.
The only complaint I have on this hotel is that the shower didn't get very warm. I did report it and they were very apologetic. Other than that, this is a great hotel. Clean comfortable rooms, indoor heated pool with water slide. The hot breakfast had plenty of choices. My family is gluten free and there were still plenty of gluten free options. We will be staying here again.
Front desk clerk very friendly and perky. Volunteered club upgrade without request. Really good value. Allows dogs, no extra charge. Room size excellent with king and sitting room with couch. Normal fridge and microwave. Nice towels (3) not (2) shower head with multiple settings. Good A/C, easy to set temperature. Hot breakfast, eggs, sausage (real), Potato puffs.
Our family stayed here 5/26-30 and booked a few rooms. Pool has a slide which was fun for kids & grown ups, rooms are clean and comfortable. Breakfast is good. Staff is helpful. Beds (double queens is what we had) are comfy. Would definitely stay there again.
This is the second time we've stayed here -- the kids love the water slide with the pool. I love the price and the breakfast option. It's a great place to stop to break up trips between Colorado and Illinois.
Front desk staff was great for info on where, what and how to get there. Easy access to and from main travel roads. Easy travel to great food and gas. Entire property was clean and well maintained. Only problem with the stay, very low water pressure in the shower.
Superb manager Loni welcomed us, and every courtesy extended. The breakfast was very very good, and we have stayed with Best Western many times. Quality and service values can be elastic, but Midwest Inn is a very good choice in Salina,Ks.
Spent the night here while moving my son home to Denver from St. Louis. Clean rooms, comfy beds, friendly helpful staff and a great breakfast. Can't ask for much more, would definitely stay here again.
The Plus is generally evident, high quality, great staff, clean, and well kept property. Set just far enough from interstate to be quiet, but close enough to be very convenient and easy to find with easy access and good parking. Good work desk with abundant electrical outlets. Better lighting than the average hotel.
Quiet location. Easy on/off I-35. Affordable and Pet Friendly. Plenty of grassy areas for the dog to walk. Many Pet Friendly rooms use air freshener in excess. I did not notice anything and the room smelled fine.
polite staff, clean room, great pool, good breakfast, We had a great time, the belly dancers were great , and I have to type 200 characters in order to exit this survey and don't want to waste the time already spent in typing.
I have stayed at this particular location multiple times over the last several years and have always been happy with the courteous and professional staff. Breakfast is always fresh, tasty and a very good selection of items. The room, lobby, and breakfast areas have always been clean and presentable. Thanks to the staff for the hard work...very much appreciated!
The hotel was average, the bed was comfortable, but was very noisy and could here the people outside and in the hallway. Room was clean, but the shower pressure was terrible. I would stay there again but next time maybe in a king Jacuzzi suite.
This is not a luxury hotel so I wasn't expecting high end accommodations. The staff at the desk was friendly, the room seemed clean, the breakfast buffet was okay. The bathroom was small, basic, but was clean. The hotel definitely needs to purchase new and better towels. Even for a budget hotel they were thin and very used. The hotel was convenient and adequate for our stay.
I stay at this Motel regularly while traveling for business. I always have a great experience! Never any issues, rooms are always clean and comfortable, the breakfast is always fresh. Great staff as well! I highly recommend this motel.
EXCELLENT!! Loni, Gen Mgr, is great & so is her staff. Our room was perfect, thanks to Bella. Though nearly full, it was quiet. Beds & shower-great! Breakfast was wonderful - especially the Belgian waffles, but there was also scrambled eggs, bisquits&gravy & hot fresh coffee all the time.
The hotel was very easy to get to off of Interstate 35. The hotel was very quiet to outside noises, welcoming staff and a very inviting look to the building, A/C worked well and quiet. Very comfortable stay and close to food and gas as well.
Stopped on our way through KS and stayed one night here since it was rated #1 and they offered a pool w/ water slide. Our 5 and 7 year old travelers loved the pool and slide. The room was very clean and comfortable. Great service at the desk. Excellent for a Best Western. Would definitely stay here again.
We had been on a long road trip and reached this hotel toward evening. The gentleman at the desk offered good advice as to local restaurants and the one we chose was excellent. The beds were very comfortable and the breakfast was very good.
I stayed for one night in March. The room was clean but nothing special. The sink was in the room and not in the bathroom with the tub/shower and toilet - a little strange! I used the Fitness Center and it was also average. The room rate was fair for the room.
We stopped late on Friday night. The desk clerk was friendly and helpful. Fresh tea in the lobby even though it was after midnight. The rooms were clean and good sized. The beds were comfortable. We had to leave quickly so we couldn't try out the breakfast.
We were traveling from New Mexico back to Minnesota and always stay in Salina, KS. Chose to stay off the Interstate and at a hotel where we could earn points. This is a wonderful Best Western. We are early risers and missed the hot breakfast which was scheduled for 7am. We wish the breakfast would have been earlier. They did provide us with a breakfast-to-go which was nice. Would stay here again.
When I arrived I had to wait about 10 minutes for the front desk attendant to return from the store across the street so he could buy food. There was no note or anything saying where he went or when he would get back. Once I got into my room, I found the bathroom door handle to be broken. You could open it from the outside, but once inside, you were locked in and had to have someone else let you out. The staff did get the handle fixed the next day after I made them aware of the issue. The water pressure was horrible. I had a hard time getting the shower to work because of the lack of water pressure. I really felt sorry for my wife and daughters trying to wash their hair with that little of water pressure. The only good thing about our stay was the breakfast. I was nice to have scrambled eggs, biscuits and gravy, waffles, and cereal for breakfast. The staff kept the food filled made sure you had what you needed.
Don't be fooled by its #1 status here on tripadvisor, the Salina Best Western Plus is sub par. It's safe and clean, but you get what you pay for. The building and rooms are quite run down and dingy. Doors are paper thin, so all the noise in the hallways feels like it is inside your room. If you have kids, you probably have no choice but to stay here on account of the waterslide in the indoor pool. If you dont, you might want to stay elsewhere and there are lots of comparable options.
Sink was clogged upon arrival. Made front desk aware of this but nothing was offered to help with it. Pool was very cloudy and while the kids played in it, I sat outside of it. Within 30 minutes tears were running down my face from the chemicals. They showered immediately after swimming. Cleanliness was pretty good, overall, for the hotel.
This is one of the old two story Best Westerns. The rooms have been redone and the interior is beautiful. I am usually pretty hyper when traveling- but this place was so quiet at night that we could sleep with the WINDOW OPEN. My dog, Fran, loved it because there was an open field across the street- not to mention the little patio area. While hubby and I drank a beer, Fran watched the squirrels in the trees. Very clean. P.S. I am fussy about that- I carry my own Lysol wipes everywhere. Good breakfast- but I usually just eat yogurt and granola. Excellent service- ask for a room on the parking lot side. Pleasant dreams!
Our room was clean, and the linens were fresh and clean also. The staff was very helpful. The breakfast had many choices. I liked the yogurt with granola, but there was also a number of hot choices. The eggs I tasted were mediocre, my only criticism. There was adequate seating. With an AARP rate, we had a bargain for the quality of the hotel. We would definitely stay again. There were many restaurant choices very close. A mall was nearby also.
This hotel exceeded my expectations. The front desk night shift worker was so polite and very accommodating. Super duper clean and cozy. The pool was exceptional my 3 young children had a blast on the slide. The breakfast was way better than any hotel I've ever stayed at. These people take pride in their work and it shows!!
This is a very comfortable & quiet hotel. It is not so large you get lost in the shuffle or find it crowded at check in or out, or at the breakfast buffet. Very close to the Interstate on the West side of the city, but not so close that traffic noise is any problem.
This hotel was clean, quiet, and very comfortable. Room was spacious, beds comfortable. Staff very friendly and helpful. A little farther from the freeway road noise than the other options, and price was better, too. Good location, near shops and services, WalMart. Very good breakfast. Will return and choose this hotel again.
We stayed here on our way back from a Colorado ski trip. I have to say this is one of the BEST - Best Westerns we have ever stayed at. The room was amazing, it was on the first floor, (big Plus). The bed was comfortable and plenty of pillows. The breakfast had many options!!! We will stay here again next year on our way skiing!
Average room, the TV was dim, bathroom light outshine it. I was annoyed the electrical outlet was hard to get to behind the mattress. I need my phone, plugged in, next to the ned, it has a reliable alarm. Breakfast had fresh scrambled eggs, we ate w no complaints. Loved the cheap gas across the street!
I would recommend this hotel to anyone. The staff are competent but also very accommodating. The hotel itself is, in my experience, always the definition of tidy. Could use a better breakfast setup, but all in all a great stay for a great value.
This is one of the best hotels we've stayed in along the I-70 corridor traveling from NY to CO. Clean and comfortable. The staff is helpful. Breakfast was decent and the coffee tasted like coffee! The complementary pretzels weren't too inviting, but a nice gesture. I'd recommend this Best Western.
From the fresh breakfast to the clean rooms and pool. This is a great place to stay for business or pleasure. The staff go out of their way to make your stay enjoyable. The breakfast is a full breakfast with real eggs and a large selection of options.
The room was comfortable and nicely furnished for our 4 day stay to see family in town. The staff was also friendly & efficient. The breakfast was a nice variety also with hot food. We could've used an extra luggage rack as we were staying in a suite, but it worked out fine. I'd have loved a heat lamp in the shower room, but the water pressure in the shower made up for it! I liked the smaller property - less noise & the noisy neighbors we did encounter one night quieted down after a friendly exchange. It was nice to have a fridge & microwave in the room since we have young kids. A bigger vanity area would've been helpful with all our stuff, but again, a very nice, comfortable room for a great rate made for a nice stay. We will be back when we're in town!
Pool was great but did not open until check out time. We asked for a late check out and swam until 11 but the pool didn't open until 10:30. I would stay again, but next time I will plan accordingly. Asdf
This place has a flagpole outside, never anything flying from it,lots of military vets that I work with that stay at this property as well. We should be flying ankh honoring our American pride everyday.
Very nice hotel. A friendly staff to welcome you . The rooms were clean and the beds were very comfortable. The breakfast was good and no issues when we checked out. The high speed internet worked and there no issued.
employes were rude and not helpful, hotel is oldert decor, reservation phone number is not to be trusted info put out on hotel avialability is dishonst and cost is 30 Persent more that hotel charge. i will not stop there again or use the phone reservation service
The service and accommodations were excellent. The only drawback was the lack of an in-house restaurant, but the delivery service from a local establishment was good. Good food and fast delivery. I didn't feel like driving to a restaurant after having spent several hours on the road and I had my pet labradoodle with me.
This hotel has it all, cozy, comfortable and clean rooms with a staff that makes you feel right at home! The breakfast has a great variety of foods and great coffee! It's a quiet area but still close to shopping and restaurants. You will want to return time and time again as we do!
Not sure what the plus part of this hotel was, but it wasn't the bed or the pillows. I only stay in Best Western's or better but this hotel is still has an Econo Lodge feel. I won't be staying here again.
Hotel is very clean, most important, the beds are so comfortable. Have stayed at several other hotels in area, but none compare. The hotel is so clean, Great breakfast choices, Convenience store across the street.
The bed in this motel was the worst of any I have stayed in in the last 5 years - that at least 1100 nights! The breakfast was far less than palatable with green eggs and undercooked, cold breakfast "sausage". No coffee, no juice, the toaster burned 1 side of the toast, but would not cook the other side at all. Could not get service at the front desk. The Shower head was so plugged that it barely dribbled.
The room was noisy and the eggs were cold. The staff was friendly and courteous. The room was clean and everything worked. Easy wireless internet access. I would tell a friend that it was OK for a stopover along you trip route, but I would not use it as a destination hotel. There were plenty of restaurants within a mile or two of the hotel.
The hotel overall was very nice and the staff was very friendly. The room was a nice size and it was very clean. The only problem area was the water pressure and the shower. The water pressure was so low it almost did not make it up to the shower head and when it did it was just a small steam. Other than that it was a very nice place to stay and in a great location.
The hotel is beginning to show it's age, particularly the discoloration in and around the swimming pool. The rooms satisfactory but no more. For a family just passing through to better things, it was a good way to provide a contrast and build up to the vacation coming further down the road.
We always enjoy staying here and will continue to make this our hotel home in the future. The rooms are always very clean and the staff is friendly, helpful and always go out of their way to make your stay amazing. Thank you!
We made our third overnight stop at this hotel in 2015 and once again were very pleasured with it. The rooms have been very clean, the staff welcoming and attentive, and the breakfast better than most continental breakfasts.
The room was clean. My main complaint is the walls are paper thin. We could hear the people in the room next to us talking. Our room was also right above the pool and it was super loud! Made going to sleep with little ones a bit difficult. If you plan on staying just request a room away from the pool.
Just on our way through and we chose this BW because of their pet policy and the positive reviews here on Tripadvisor. We reserved a suite with two queen beds - just a bit bigger than a regular room. It has a small refrigerator, microwave, and area with a couch and coffee table. The room looks recently renovated, and was very clean. Front desk staff was very nice, efficient. Easy on/off highway; gas station across the street. FYI the pool is temporarily closed.
Room was conveintly located. Clerk was polite and informitive about the restaurants in the area. Room was clean althougha bit small. Beds are pillowtop and very comfortable. TV had a problem which the clerk was able to fix.
Hotel is one of the best in Salina. The breakfast is outstanding and front desk personnel are very friendly and helpful! Rooms are spacious and clean. Kids love the heated indoor pool and water slide!
We stay frequently at Best Western facilities. This facility is a good place to stay - close to interstate - close to our activity. Pool has a slide which looked fun but think it was getting ready to be cleaned etc as the water didn't look good. It would be fun for kids to stay there.
I have stayed at this location multiple times over the last 3 years and have enjoyed each visit. Nice morning breakfast, very polite staff, I forgot a few shirts on one visit and was able to call the Manager and they retrieved the shirts from the room and my sister picked them up and sent them to my home. It's always a nice thing when people go the extra mile for you. I have and will continue to stay at this location.
After visiting Eisenhower's hometown of Abilene we continued to seek out BW motels for their quality and this one again met our expectations. Only issue we had was there was no printer to use in the business center. However, front desk allowed us to use their computer and printer. ??
Pleasant staff, clean room, comfortable bed. Decor outdated, especially bathroom. Cracked, patched tub, dim lighting. Traffic noise all night long on street side; request room overlooking parking lot to avoid. Average but adequate "complimentary" breakfast. Inconveniently far from I-70; Starbucks and WalMart nearby.
Ive stayed here many times for work and of all the hotels I have stayed at while away from home this one by far is the best. From the clean rooms to the awesome breakfast you cant beat this hotel! The pool has a slide too, which my kids loved!
The Saturday evening manager went above and beyond to make us comfortable. We had been at a wedding and came back to the motel to be with family (much easier to talk there than at the wedding). She made sure that we had everything we needed throughout the evening as she set us up in the breakfast room. The evening was so special chatting with my siblings. Thank you so much for making us feel special.
My husband was very impressed with the red heart shaped tub in our room. However, we didn't use it. The location of the motel was perfect for the wedding we attended. The breakfast was absolutely outstanding & delicious. The lady, who checked us in was very sweet and accommodating.
This hotel could be characterized as ordinary at best. We stayed there because we were traveling with a pit and this appeared to be the only option. Don't waste your time with the "free breakfast" just move on
The location of this hotel was perfect: just off the interstate and close to restaurants, stores, and even a Sam's Club where we were able to fill our gas tank at an excellent price. The room and bathroom were clean and the bed was comfortable - which is all we require. Breakfast bar had enough choices to satisfy our needs, Would not hesitate to return to this location if we are ever in the area.
There are not a lot if a choices in Salina, however I am thankful I found this hotel. A little difficult to find, but the hotel staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. Check in was quick, the hotel was maintained with a great breakfast.
Enjoyed my stay here... friendly staff and convenient location in a nice town. Would definitely stay there again and would recommend to anyone -- also great for people traveling with pets... they are very accommodating.
Highway sign for hotel misleading...appears at nearby hotel...easy access to service station nearby..selection at breakfast was outstanding...nice breakfast room.staffhelpful A room safe would be a added amenity
Extremely comfortable and quiet hotel. As travelers, this was a perfect choice for us. This hotel is far superior to the other offerings in the area. The breakfast was ok and the dining area is a bit tight on occassions the hotel is fully occupied. The indoor pool is quite inviting, although the work out area was small. There are choice restaurants and fuel options right around the hotel.
Maybe we just had the bad luck of being given a bad room since the other reviewers seem to like this place. But we had multiple problems with our room. When we first walked in, I noticed a musty odor in the room, but I thought it would clear up after we return from dinner. Unfortunately, the odor was still there when we returned, and I realized that it was because the AC unit did not work properly. And then we soon discovered that there were other issues, the TV remote did not work, so we had to operate the TV using the manual buttons. Next we realized that the bath drain did not work well either. We were so tired from the day's travel that we decided to just put up with these issues for the one night. But then in the morning, I discovered some stains on my bed sheets. In summary, we will not likely return to this property if we were to travel this way again in the future.
Very quite area only noise was some creaking when ever the air turn off. Very friendly staff at check in The breakfast was very good. Bed was very comfortable. Shower had plenty of pressure. Just found ahower head a little to high to reach im only 5'3 .
Breakfast was not great. Sausage was good, but the eggs, biscuits and gravy did not look good. Food not warm enough for me. Coffee carfe was empty. Ask for more but it was not hot. Attendant seemed distracted and not interested in making sure people got what they wanted.
We had never used a Best Western Plus before. We found the hotel clean, quiet, friendly and comfortable. It seemed to be a newer property. The breakfast was hot, varied and fresh. The staff was very helpful and friendly. There were several good places to eat near the property. The pool has a slide that our grandson would have loved.
We had 15 people and we were all very pleased with the staff, breakfast provided, pool, cleanliness and very comfortable beds. They allowed us to use the breakfast room one night for dinner and games. I would recommend this hotel and will stay there in the future if I am in Salina.
