Best Western Hotel Bayfront, Saint Augustine

This is always our go to place when we visit St. Augustine. The location is perfect and the staff friendly. However, this trip we were a bit disappointed. We had several rooms. Ours had ants, another had a non-working television, another was next door to either a maintenance room or a room that was being worked on, and it was very loud with the workers slamming doors for hours. It's over $300/night during this time of year and we expected better. They need to start updating this hotel and ensuring it is kept quiet in the mornings for its guests. We are Best Western rewards members but may look elsewhere next time.

Fantastic location so I guess folks would pay to stay here if they were offering s*** on a stick, but that will do it for us. If cleanliness is next to Godliness this room got us closer to hell. $18.00 to park, no breakfast, dirty towel hanging up in the bathroom. Employees were nice but someone needs to learn how to clean...

Stayed at the Best Western Bayfront for a few nights to see St. Augustine's annual Nights of Lights. The location couldn't be better, right in the center of the action, and all lit up for the Holidays as well. Prices reasonable, but they do charge an additional $18.00 for parking which can be a little tight space wise. Beds were a little bit on the hard side, but manageable. Friendly staff. Will stay here again.

Bars located directly behind rooms. Cannot sleep. Sounds like the band is in the room with you. Moldy smelling bathroom. Very tiny shower and baby toilets. Old mattress and lumpy pillows made for a miserable nights rest.

This motel is in the most perfect location. An absolute must stay if visiting St. Augustine. Directly across from the bay and walkable to everything possible you would want to see. A great breakfast place next door around the corner from St. George Street shops and restaurants and you can walk to the fort as well and pirate museum. There is also a 2nd floor patio with seating to relax and enjoy the view. The workers were all smiles. We had a king room which was small but adequate and clean. The bathroom was fully redone and beautiful. I wouldn't stay anywhere else when in St. Augustine historic district.

Best Western Bayfront is our go to hotel in St. Augustine. Our stay is always pleasant due to the well kept property and the wonderful management and staff. Location is perfect for the historic district and it is located right on the Bay. Highly recommend!

Rehab work begins at 7:30am and it is LOUD. If you are not an early riser find another place to stay. Website and call center do not indicate that construction is going on - which is a HUGE issue. Everything else was average. The location is okay - a little too touristy - but there is also lots of street noise.

I needed a place for the night to break up a drive. This hotel was perfectly located to explore the fort, walk along the bay and get a good dinner. The room is updated nicely but is cramped. I was by myself so a-ok for me. Could be tight for a couple. Perfect for me though.

The location is the best selling point! For the value, you are across the street from the water, striking distance from the fort and around the corner from the historic streets for shopping and restaurants. We watched the sunrise, there is a breakfast/coffee place next door and had a parking spot right in front of our room. They even have a decent size pool for a quick dip but we were not able to take advantage as we were only here for a quick stop over on our way to Orlando. Will definitely stay here again if we go back to St. Augustine and will stay for longer! The room was recently renovated too. Clean, had a fridge and microwave and an area to leave the suitcases.

We had the pleasure to stay in one of their bayfront rooms. The view is over the bay of St. Augustine and the Lions Bridge by night is breathtaking. Highly recommended. The staff is super friendly and professional and the breakfast was the best I ever had in a Hotel. I'll be back!

Grabbed a night for an impromptu getaway weekend in St. Augustine. Thought price was a little high for a 2-star level hotel, but it really wasn't. The location is right in the heart of most of the places you want to be. Sheri, the assistant manager, was simply a pro, competent and friendly. She was so helpful with our parking questions and with dining advice. The rooms are small, and the place is motel-style with doors that open to the parking lot, but that just made for more convenient unloading. We were pleasantly surprised at how nice the room looked. The decor was refreshed and current. It was a small room mostly taken up by a king bed but still included a mini-fridge, microwave and a Keurig. Bathroom and shower, again, small but nicely refreshed. Only issue we had was with the a/c unit which is mounted through the rear wall. It was pretty loud, and allowed in street noise from the road behind the hotel. We just put in our earplugs with the realization that the location is right in the middle of it all the action, so you take the good with the bad. Don't miss the breakfast next door at Mary's Cafe and the new restaurant/bar to the north, River and Fort, is outstanding. We also enjoyed the Ice Plant, and had great drinks at both Catch 27 and at Boat Drinks. The Ghost City ghost tour was fun as well.

I've stayed in St. Augustine many times. This property helped make it my best stay. The location is the best in town. Staff are very friendly and knowledgeable. They really went out of their way to make our stay pleasant. I can't wait to go back. I would highly recommend this location to anyone planning a trip to St. Augustine.

We had a king room that was clean and had everything we needed. The space was small but we were very comfortable. Breakfast was at a restaurant on property and we were given a voucher with 3 free choices. If you wanted anything else there was an up charge. I had French toast and bacon. My husband had 2 eggs,sausage & toast..we both had coffee. Food was very good

Can't beat the location. Usually very reasonable prices if you book in advance. Walking distance to everything in the historic district. Rooms have always been clean and comfy....perhaps not the best beds, but you are there to explore, eat, drink, etc. Best part....There is an awesome 2nd story patio/outdoor veranda overlooking the bay, fort, bridge; and you can just chill catching the ocean breeze while people watching. I usually stay at Marriott Hotels because I have a good reward set up with them, but we love this location and stay there every visit. Parking does cost, but you have to pay for parking everywhere in the nations oldest city.

An incredible stay that included so much of St. Augustine's allure! A Bayfront, lighthouse, historic fort, Bridge of Lions view from a large, super clean and comfortable room all with easy walking distance to St. Augustine's historic quarter and great restaurants and shops---great live music as well!

Awesome view of the inlet and ocean! Friendly manager and staff! Buy your ticket to the old town trolley at the front desk and the stop is right out front of the hotel. Perfect way to hop on and off for 20+ stops.

As a valued Best western guest we should have been treated as such but since we booked using points we were treated like less than desirable guests. Excessive noise . Staff wasn't friendly. Watch out for the hidden parking fees . Nicely located to the old city . Overall a good hotel. Be prepared to wait for your free voucher breakfast as their little cafe next door is not prepared to handle their Guests. Sub average food for the vouchers.

This BW is in the perfect location, close to Old Town and other tourist sites. The Breakfast was at a quaint place right on site. VERY good food! Staff was helpful and friendly and offered great ideas for entertainment!

This is a zero star review, had to leave this hotel because someone got into our room and the hotel manager said it wasn't them. Even had to file a police report. Hotel manger was very unhelpful and seem unconcerned by the matter, even combative. Be careful if you choose to stay here.

What an amazing location! The rooms are clean, the customer service is amazing, and don't worry about parking…it looks tight but the staff will assist you in finding a spot right next to your room, and even put a cone up when you leave to hold your place! The Bayfront location is picturesque, and you're right in the heart of old St. Augustine…no need to even move your car if you want to explore St. George St. Plenty of food and entertainment within a block or two…you won't regret staying here!

We have stayed here many, many times and never been disappointed! The location cannot be any better. I think we moved our car only 3 times in 4 days. The trolley stops right in front of the motel. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Julie and Sherry at the desk go out of their way to be helpful.

Location is in front of the Bay, in the heart of old historical St. Augustine. Plenty of shoppers and eateries within walking distance. We went 4 wheel driving on to beaches near-by with cocktails, suntan lotion Beach chairs a music. The beach was also pet friendly.

Location was really great. The property offers no food services but you find yourself literally steps away from all sorts of restaurants. But memory that lingers about this place is the extraordinary staff. Stay here. You will not regret the choice.

The staff went above and beyond to ensure all of our questions were answered and they were very helpful in giving us recommendations when asked. They were very friendly and the location was perfect. I would highly recommend this hotel.

In these times of mediocre customer service i just had an exceptional experience with Julie who works the front desk at this hotel. First off she thanked me for being a loyal brand member and made sure we received every possible upgrade. She also provided us a voucher for breakfast at a cute family owned restaurant next door and then went as far as coming into the parking area and directing me so we would not run into the curb The hotel itself in in an excellent location. You can walk to everything so just park it and forget your car. Here is a great secret about the hotel, on the second floor they have a patio with some high top tables and chairs and a comfortable couch. We would take a glass of wine up there and people watch the passers by and look at the beautiful boats in the harbor. Room was quiet, clean and comfortable We will definitely return and I highly recommend this property. Ask for Julie!!

We moved here from another hotel, Julie at the front desk was extremely kind and accommodating. The room was clean and spacious, good location if you want to be within walking distance of most tourist attractions. The parking is extremely tight…considering the parking situation in downtown area they keep a close reign on cars coming in and keeping spots coned off. The only complaint is the AC with is located in the dressing room adjacent to the bathroom, away from the beds, so keeping the room cool was a challenge.

The location can't be beat. The room was incredibly clean. The staff was amazing. Everything was in walking distance. We didn't use our car the entire time we were there. Julia got us discounts to all the attractions. I plan to return and would recommend to property to anyone.

We got there early, about 1:00PM and they let us park which was great and our rooms were not ready which we expected. They said they would call us when the room was ready. We came back around 4 but the the rooms still were not ready. We figured seeing as they knew we were there they would get our rooms ready, NOT. Then Wifi was terrible. It worked once in a while but only for a few minutes. Not happy with that. The rooms were nice. Location was great.

Property was recently upgraded; our roomy bathroom had marble. We received a warm, friendly greeting by Julie Johnson as soon as we walked into the registration lobby. I had called several days before arrival to request a first floor room because my 90 year old mother was joining me, and Julie had a handicap room waiting for us. Julie thanked me for being an Elite member of BW and had goody bags for us. Julie accommodated all our wishes, checking in and out. The beds were very comfortable. The location is excellent, sited between the water and the historic district, close to lots of restaurants and shops. The cherry on top was breakfast at the coffee shop right next door. We couldn't have asked for a better experience,

Great location, can walk to mostly everything. A little noisy at night. They charge for daily parking, did not realize this but there is also a parking garage for extra cars. Right across from the fort.

We have been staying at this hotel for many years. We always stay here with any trip to St Augustine. Being able to park your vehicle and walk everywhere needed downtown makes this location ideal. The hotel staff is friendly and the rooms are always clean.

You're really paying for the location here. It's within steps of the fort, museums, shops and restaurants, and there's no need to drive! The bathroom had a foul odor upon arrival, and overall the room seemed pretty shoddy. The front desk warns of noise during the night, and you can definitely hear music from the surrounding bars and restaurants. But really, if you stay in a central location like this, it's to be expected. Overall, we would go back. If you go, bring a few gallon jugs of water! There's no water fountain on site that we could find, and the vending machine sold water bottles at $2/each. We saw a line for the vending machine one night.

Our hotel booking was made last minute, but our experience here was less than rushed. From the minute I pulled into the parking lot I was greeted with amazing customer service. Was shown where I could park, and checked in within minutes. No matter the hour, we were provided with anything and everything we needed. Extra towels, soaps, you name it we had it. Getting to open the door and see the beach was also a huge plus.

I've stayed at this property before when it was called the Monterey, upon check-in Sheri made us feel very welcome and shared some of the local spots to visit during our stay. We could walk to Saint George Street we could walk to O'Steen's restaurant etc. etc.

This hotel was in a great location however people were socializing in a little sitting area right outside of our room during the middle of the night. It was so loud it sounded like they were partying in our room. I had to call the front desk and it still continued for a while after i made the call.

The location could not have been better. The staff was nice except for one nasty, rude, attendant. She questioned any request I made. They didn't come to clean the room, even though I had requested the service. When I respectfully inquired, the same rude attendant's response was horrible. It was a constant struggle whenever I needed anything and she was on duty. And I truly was respectfully and didn't make many requests, other than to have my room cleaned.

As we were warned upon arrival, the noise from the next door bar was really loud until 1:30am and we were woke in the mornings by the bar deliveries. This wouldn't have been so bad if the walls were insulated. I think a lot of next door noise comes though the mini-splits. The internet speed was really slow. We hooked up our Amazon fire stick and the streaming wasn't good like it normally is at other hotels. The beds were advertised as "pillow top" and they weren't. However, we slept pretty good. Outside of that, the staff was super friendly, we loved the balcony by the office, the rooms had everything we could have wanted and the amenities were good.

Best Western Bayfront St. Augustine. Worst stay ever. The music from the nearby bar kept us awake until two in the morning. The solution we were offered was to call the police! We had to demand to change rooms at 11.30am for a not really better room. The next day no compensation was offered to us barely an apology. Never disappointed here! We stay here very opportunity we can when we are visiting St Augustine. Great staff and so nice to walk everywhere downtown. The rooms are clean and spacious. Pool area is nice and clean and relaxing. So many amazing restaurants near by as well.

While the location is excellent (across from the Castillo de San Marcos and near the shops and restaurants on St. George Street) the room was far from accessible. A handicapped person in a wheelchair would not be able to stay in what they consider an accessible room. Newsflash: slapping a few grab bars in the bathroom does not make a room accessible. My friend needed a scooter to get around which we could not even get in the extremely small room because there was no clearance to get from the door to the bathroom - the gap between the bed and the dresser was too tight. The beds were almost 3 feet off the ground so if you are short you have to literally jump into them. There was no shower seat or hand-held showerhead in the tub. The floors are dangerously slippery when wet even for the most able-bodied person. I am not sure a person in a wheelchair could even reach the faucets on the sink because a towel bar protrudes from the sink, restricting access. Their idea of breakfast is a bag with water, an apple and a muffin and there is no other food service. The maid service was deplorable. We often had to go to the office for more coffee, coffee cups and toilet paper. Either they were not properly trained or they need a checklist to make sure everything is properly replenished. Either way, it comes off as not taking pride in the property.

The property is very clean and well-maintained. It is an easy walking distance from St. George Street and all of those bars ans restaurants. The view was lovely, right across from the bay. The staff was very friendly and recommended Mary‘s restaurant next-door for breakfast, which we thoroughly enjoyed. The hotel is somewhat dated and sadly we had a barking dog on one side of our room and a crying baby on the other side. The walls are like tissue paper. We could hear the other guests talking through our AC unit. There is a fee for parking here, but the $15 is worth having a place for the car in such a populated area. All in all. I would have to say, I would not stay here again.

If you are looking for reliable internet service, I would no longer recommend this hotel. We have stayed here many times and you should expect better for the price. Location is everything about this hotel so internet would not seem yo be a priority. Staff was friendly but could not help.

Don't stay here. The items causing me to say that are too vast to list individually on this report. To start with, I've had closets bigger than the room I stayed in. The shower door leaked at the gasket all over the floor of the bathroom, creating a slip hazard. They only provide one towel for each guest, so I couldn't even put down a towel to make it a little safer. The list goes on and on, and only gets worse.

I didn't even stay the night. I checked out at 12:30am because it was so loud. My window A/C sounded like an airplane taking off every 5 mins and it backed to the busiest street which sounded like they were right outside the A/C unit. Most of the staff was rude and unapologetic and the price for quality was not at all worth it. I never write reviews but my experience was extremely disappointing.

Best place to stay in St. Augustine. Great view of the fort, bridge and bay. Everything is within walking distance. Bar, shops and dining. The trolley stops right in front of the hotel, and is a great way to see some of the city. Our 3rd time here.

Today I was trying to help a disabled lady who's mobility scooter was running out of battery life. I went into the lobby and asked if she could plug it in for a few minutes. The man said no!!!! Can you imagine? He had no idea if she was an occupant or not, just no! Makes me know that disabled folks should not stay there!

Our stay was excellent. The room had a lovely view of the Matanzas Bay and the bed was very comfortable. The location is A+, close to all attractions. Once you park your car you won't need it until you are ready to check out. Professional and welcoming staff made the stay very pleasant. We will be back!

This hotel is walking distance from the main attractions and the "St. George St". I truly enjoyed the view of the ocean. And you can also see the "Bridge of Lions" and the "Castillo de San Marcos" A very pleasant place to stay.

We stayed for 2 nights during St. Augustine's 'Night of Lights' celebration. The location was perfect, across from the bay and in the historic district, close to dining and shopping. Onsite breakfast was not available due to size constraints, but vouchers for a nearby restaurant and 'grab and go' breakfast bags were provided. Customer service was great, particularly during a very busy time. The front desk manager was extremely helpful and patient. We would not hesitate to stay at this property in the future.

The location is excellent! Cant ask for more coming to St Augustine. There is some noise that is behind the hotel but it did not bother us none. Highly recommended and it is located across the castle! All the restaurants are near by no need for any hassle!

This hotel should have disclosed the extremely loud bar located directly behind it; the loud music and partying went on until 3:00a.m. every night we stayed. So loud in fact, it sounded like it was directly in our room. Do not stay at this hotel if you want any rest and relaxation. In addition, the internet was nearly non-existent as it was impossible to connect at all.

Nice older hotel for the historic area, very well maintained, the rooms were nice and bathrooms were very nice with walk in showers, Microwave and small fridge in the room. Stairs and walkway are narrow, but that is the historical part about it. Everything is in walking distance, pool is also nice. There is no breakfast here but plenty of places to eat. Parking can be a challenge, but they do have a parking attendant out there to manage the parking. Recommend this place to stay.

The location of this hotel is ideal if you plan to visit the historic downtown area of St. Augustine. The hotel is rather old but it is well maintained and clean. The room we had was very small and located on the second floor. There is no elevator to the second floor and the stairs are very narrow. The air conditioner in the room was very loud, disrupting sleep each night. The bathroom is also small but functional. Outside each room is a couple of small benches which was very nice for looking out over the bay. Parking is available for a fee and the parking can be a challenge due to space limitations. The hotel does an excellent job managing the parking area. If you want to be within walking distance of the historic area of St. Augustine, this hotel is an excellent choice. Be aware of the hotel limitations and you should enjoy your stay.

Best Western Bayfront is within walking distance of major attractions in Saint Augustine. We enjoyed the trolley tours, and great restaurants and shopping in the area. The view of sailboats on the water and the draw bridge is pleasant.

The perfect location! I drove around the city looking for a good location. Drove by this BW...looked up on www...the BW a few miles away was 1/2 price. At this point, I have been on the rode for 40 days or so...I really did not want to Uber back and forth...so I decided to splurge and stay here....It was a perfect location...small room, but very comfortable.

BE WARNED: There is a live music bar directly behind the hotel that plays until 2am. That's not a problem if you go to bed after 2am. The check-in team will provide a document telling you about the noise. However, by the time you get it, it is too late to cancel the reservation and relocate. I tried to deal, turned up the TV and AC fan, but ended up leaving at midnight (drove 2 hours home) because the noise was unbearable. With that said... PROS: Fantastic location for all the sites, restaurants and shopping. The staff was wonderful and very attentive. The room was clean, modern and roomy. CONS: Sleep quality - good luck getting any. The stairs leading up to the 2nd floor were VERY narrow (I'm petite) and almost had to go up sideways. Even harder when carrying luggage. The king bed was hard as a rock, the blanket provided was very thin.

There isn't a better location anywhere in St. Augustine if you are looking to be in the historic section. It looks out over the bay and was literally walking distance to everywhere we ate and everything we did with the exception of the lighthouse. We would stay here again. The good - The location is amazing. You are right in the middle of everything. Again, you are paying for location The service from the front desk was awesome. They were helpful and accomodating The parking attendent does a great job - it is a small lot, just park where he tells you The room was clean Beds were comfortable The not so great - it was expensive for a Best Western. The parking lot is small so we didn't even try to move our vehicle (we could have moved it but everything was so convenient that we just never did). The only real negative was that there was a lot of noise from Meehan's next door - a lot of noise very very late at night. I would stay there again but would ask for a room on the other side of the building.

We stayed here because of the location. It is located across from the fort and behind the hotel is St. George street. Everything is in walking distance. The hotel charges almost $20 to park on the property for which you are already paying for. The beds are hard and the ice machine was not working at the time we stayed.

I felt that the staff when we checked in were under the impression that I was there to please them! The were not cordial in the least. For a total bill of $160.00 for one night was a real rip-off!! Yes it was nice to be in the middle of town, but for a room the size less than that of a micro-hotel, no more than one person could be on the bathroom at one time. The “Grab and go Breakfast” was an other joke. Do yourself a favor and find another hotel, I know I will on our next trip tp St Augustine

Very clean and quaint hotel with an awesome balcony view! It's the best Bayfront view in town!! We stay here a few time a year and would not go anywhere else. The staff is super friendly and knowledgeable about the area! Housekeeping is on point and always have want you need within a reasonable time frame (Fresh towels, coffee, etc).

I have read many reviews of this hotel and I was looking forward to my stay here. My family was booked into a room for a special need person. When I informed the front desk staff that I did not need such a room and that I felt horrible for taking any such accommodations from anyone who really does require it, I was greeted with an apathetic attitude and shrug. Knowing that the room was designed for a special needs person, we were disheartened to be lodged in a room that smelled dank, old and musty. The light to the bathroom and shower was not working. The television was inadequate due to burnt pixels affecting the picture. Finally there were large roaches in the bathroom. I shudder to think that this is how this hotel lodges any handicapped person. I understand that this is a “budget” hotel, but lodgings here were disgusting, inadequate and just unacceptable. The less than friendly staff could care less to address any of this. I would never recommend this location to anyone. Next visit I rather spend the money at a higher caliber location.

Parking was so limited and tight, I didn't dare move it after parking on arrival. Charging an extra $20 for parking is robbery. The TV was UN-watchable. Four lines of 23 Large Bright white lights across the TV were Blinding. Staff would not replace the TV.

The hotel is nice and clean and well located. DON'T BUY ANY THRID-PARTY TICKETS HERE. Front-desk staff over charged me for local tour tickets verbally quoting a one price and running credit card for double the amount. Receipt was supposedly emailed but never received. After multiple requests for receipt I checked credit card account to find over charge.

-rooms are super small and a little outdated. Staff are extremely rude Sheri General Manager was nice but wasn't willing to fix our issue. Parking cost 20.00 a night add about 20.00 for tax. Keep an eye on your account as they continue to add charges everyday. PROS- I loved how it was close to everything and the view was beautiful.

In the heart of old town St. Augustine with a waterfront view. One of the nicest Best Westerns I have stayed at. Newly remodeled, attended parking lot, and has It's own trolley stop! Rooms are on the small side, but comfortable with new mattresses. Expect some noise from the clubs on Fri/Sat night until closing. Breakfast/ lunch at Mary's next door is very good, and convenient. Nice second floor covered deck on the street, to people watch, or take in the awesome waterfront view. We will be return customers in a few months!

Julia always take so very good care of us she is always smiling and always very accommodating. She always makes sure that our rooms are clean and that we get the exact room that we asked for. The TV didn't work, the floor had a huge crack in it that made it uneven, the bathroom door didn't close all the way. The parking is frustratingly limited. There was also a miscommunication with staff, prior to check in, which caused the cost of a $385 hotel stay to become $600. Still waiting for holds to release. The first night there someone tried breaking into our room, several times. They banged on the window and tried aggressively opening the door. The second night, after hearing faint screaming and what sounded like slaming/throwing of things, we began hearing someone screaming outside of the door. Apparently there was some sort of altercation with a neighboring room in which the cops needed to be called. On the bright side the mini fridge came in handy and the view from the second floor was nice.

The rooms are very small but practical, the plus point of this hotel is the fabulous location at the waterfront, only a few yards from the kastel and located inside the old town. The parking space just outside the room is another major plus point !

The property advertised as a pet friendly hotel but don't allow them in the room alone. If I had known before arriving I would have stayed some where else. Who goes to dinner with their dogs? The staff was horrible including management. The tv didn't work, which complaints went unanswered, the bathroom wall had metal pieces falling off which scratched my arm coming out of shower. Parking was a nightmare and we were asked to move our car further away from our room several times. The night clerk, Kenica, hated dogs and constantly commented about them in a negative way. She was racist and rude. We were forced to end my birthday trip on my birthday when she called the police over a parking spot. I will never stay at another Best Western, let alone in St. Augustine.

The Best Western Bayfront is a pet friendly establishment, our policy (both posted in our lobby and signed by each guest checking in with a pet(s)) is that we are happy to accommodate up to 2 pets per room (no more than 50 pounds per pet), and you may not leave the pet unattended in the room. Each guest with a pet, upon check-in signs our pet policy, as this guest did. There were actually 3 pets in the room (we made an exception) however the guest did not adhere to our policy which they signed/agreed to. We will not succumb to abusive/aggressive behavior from any guest. Our night auditor was the receiver of disparaging remarks/names, not the provider.

The room was very clean. No carpet! Which I like in hotels. Everything looked newly rennovated. The view was great, with the waterfront across the street. There is a great breakfast cafe right next door that has awesome food. Parking is tight, but the parking attendants are very helpful. Location was great. We could walk to all of old town. Didn't have to drive at all once we got there. Highly recommend if you are going to St. Augustine.

The hotel is in a perfect location. Right in front of the Bay and in the hub of the Historic area. Super friendly staff. We got there early and they let us check in right away. The room was clean. Everything was nice and comfortable. The entire staff we came into contact with were all friendly. Pool was nice. The room isn't the best I have stayed in for the price ($330/night) however you really are paying for the location which you can't beat. The parking is terrible, once you park I would do walking as much as possible. The man who directs you to park was really friendly and boy does he have a job. The breakfast is a bag with water, muffin, & apple in it. Which I guess is the new normal. The water pressure isn't great. But for the location it was perfect. I would definitely stay again.

This is a fantastic stay across from the bay and the Bridge of Lions. First off if you need an elevator to the 2nd floor this is not for you as there is not one and you carry your luggage to the 2nd floor via steps. For us this was not a problem and we are 60's and 70. I was pleasantly surprised to see that this room was so updated, tile on the floors, nicely updated bathroom with new tile, shower (no tub), modern sink and dual flush toilet, hair dryer and ironing board. I did not feel like I was staying in a 2nd class hotel. Blankets are available at the office if you get chilled - it was difficult for us to regulate the air. The room has a fridge as when researching a lot of the B&B's are small rooms without a fridge and it worked great keeping our cooler packs frozen which is unusual. Extra coffee can be obtained from the office and they provide breakfast bags. There is a breakfast restaurant on both sides of the hotel which looked pretty good. The upstairs provides a seating area open for viewing to the water where you can sit and relax and visit with others, or smoke etc. Parking does cost extra like $15.00 per day on top of the room but it is great to just park your car and walk out your door to everything. This hotel is awesome for location. This hotel does take dogs but at an additional cost. This would also be a great location to watch the fire works as they would be right across the street. I checked the prices for New Years and I think it was $300 something per night. There is a pool on site but did not use so I cannot comment on that, Meals in the area: Because this is such a high tourist area if you are eating in and around in the historic district I would even try and make reservations ahead of arrival as most it seemed did not take same day reservations and some that we walked into around 5 or 6 the only available seating was 9:30 at night. Therefore no reservation you are stuck with what you can find to eat. Breakfast at the hotel consisted of a bag. We did not obtain so I have no idea what was in it. A good coffee can be obtained at Kookaburra and they have Aussie meat pies and it is not a long walk. The old fort is right to the left of this hotel and the bridge on the right. The staff were nice and helpful. There were definitely areas that could have been wiped down more like back of the bathroom barn slider door. and spots on woodwork.

First room smelled like stale cigarette smoke, so they gave us a room that smelled like burned turnips instead. Bathroom had a sliding door fixture that would not allow the door to close completely, so there was no privacy. Wall-unit air conditioner rattled loudly non-stop. Towels were like sandpaper. Pool area was dingy looking. There was no breakfast of any kind and no coffee offered in the lobby. In-room coffee maker was filthy, as though it had NEVER been cleaned. The room was very small, but reasonably clean. It is nicely located, just a very short walk to St. George Street, which is why I chose it. I don't understand the positives reviews. That was NOT my experience at all. I gave it one star because of it's location. Very disappointed that the online ads for this motel were so misleading; the photos make the rooms look larger than they are, and the amenities advertised just don't exist.

If you want to be able to park your car & walk during your stay then this is the perfect place. It's located right in the middle of the historic part of St. Augustine & right across the street from the bay. There's a very nice 2nd floor seating area that looks out at the water. This place has been around for a long time but is very well maintained. The rooms are a little small but the location more than makes up for it.

This Best Western was in a prime location in old St Augustine. Walking distance to many shops, restaurants, site seeing, the trolley. Loved the 2nd floor patio. People watched while having coffee. Though no in house restaurant, There are 2 located next to the hotel that were very good. Parking is very limited; one vehicle per room, but the staff we so efficient in how they parked everyone. I was amazed; especially with the large trucks. We never had an issue getting our car out of the parking lot to visit the beaches. Rooms were simple but we didn't hang out in them. The shower was great, beds very comfortable. I will visit this location again.

Check in was a breeze. Clerk was very accommodating for working alone with a packed hotel. Room was very clean and comfortable. Air conditioner worked well without a lot of noise. The hotel was right in the middle of the historic district so we were able to walk everywhere in the short time we had. Check out was 11:00 but they let us keep the car in their parking lot until noon. Would definitely stay again!!

We just returned from a 4 night stay at the BW Bayfront in historic St. Augustine. This was our 2nd stay there and we just love it. The rooms are on the smaller side but beautifully renovated & decorated. The staff are top notch.We love the upper veranda with comfy furniture & killer views of the bay.The location is right in the historic district & you can walk to everything.

The hotel is right in the historic district on the bay, directly across from the fort. Everything in Old Town is within walking distance. Less than 2 blocks to St George St. Trolley stop in front of the hotel. Parking is very tight. Rooms are very small (which we knew up front) but made the most of every space. For a night or 2 this isn't an issue. But I couldn't spend a week in this little space. Front desk person was very friendly. She offered to even give us an upgrade to a upper level bay front room for free.

This hotel is in an great location. It is close to many restaurants and shopping. The only problem we had was that the door was difficult to close and lock when leaving. We would have to shut the door multiple time hard for it to lock when coming and going. Everything else with our stay was great!

This is an excellent location for "old town" St Augustine. It is directly across the street from Castillo de San Marcos and historic St George is next street over. However, it appears to be a converted Roadway Inn and not as nice as other Best Western hotels. There is not room for breakfast but small grab and go breakfast was provided. There is an additional $15 /day for parking. That said, reasonable price for location if wanting to spend day or two in "old town".

We chose this hotel because of its location. It is located in a centrally located street in St. Augustine that overlooks the water and is in close proximity to everything. We chose not to rent a car and glad we didn't because the parking is a mess. Use Airport Shuttle of St. Augustine! Our room was clean upon arrival and had all the necessities. Check in was easy and the clerk very friendly. We found out after the first day that there would be no maid service during our stay because of COVID. This meant that we had to go to the lobby every day/ night for more towels/toiletries. Thankfully we only stayed 3 nights as the pile of towels was getting pretty large! This policy made no sense to us and we have stayed at other resorts/hotels since COVID and have always had our room made up. I hope the management realizes that this policy is very inconvenient did the guests.

Check in was quick, friendly and easy. The lady at the front desk was pleasant and very helpful (I wish I could remember her name, Blonde lady, probably in her 50's). A employee helped us park. Room was updated and clean. Bathroom clean but a bit small. There were ants on the counter but never saw them anywhere else. This hotel is centrally located with easy access to everything. However, walls are thin but most noised stopped around 1130pm. We weren't in our room much, so the noise was fine for our girls weekend. I would definitely recommend due to location and updated room (no carpet!!)

Rooms were of average cleanliness. No blankets on the beds and no blankets available; told to use the heater. Ran our credit 4 times for 2 rooms encumbering $1,450 that took 4 days to reverse. The credit was ran the two days prior to our arrival, the day of our arrival and then the charge on check out. This is excessive and encumbered funds we needed for our vacation. If management is worried about getting paid, they should ask to be paid in advance and not encumber credit. We are not all rich with unlimited funds. That said, we are not all thieves either. Some of us are honest, hardworking people trying to have a nice vacation... the last one was eleven years ago. Their excessive holding of funds left us stranded because we had no credit. We had cash but hotels and rental car companies require a credit card.

Nice remodeled rooms, but parking & noise terrible! The room was #229 & clean. However, there was no peaceful sleep or quiet. Was woke up all night long by loud street noise, other guests and constant banging on our door by children, then parents yelling at their children for banging on the doors. (Why are children even out at 3:30am??) I did call the front desk to have them ask the other guests to keep it down, however they said they only call the police for that sort of thing. I asked if security guards were on-site & they said no, because security guards do not have guns. Now I do not think this sort of complaint warrants cops with guns coming to sort out noisy guests. Also, parking is not part of the room rate and is additional $31. Must pay to park & must leave vehicle until check-out. They pack you in here so tight that there is no way to get out and use the vehicle to drive to a location (outlets, beach, across bridge, etc). Will not be staying here again and I do not recommend anyone else to that values their time, money and sleep! Really put a damper on our trip. Save yourself the hassle & get some rest somewhere (anywhere) else. I would have been better off sleeping in a parking garage in my vehicle than being constantly woke up at this place. They should remove “Best” out of their name!

I've been visiting St.Augustine since I was 10 years old. I'm currently 68 years old. My parents use to stay at various motels here depending on price. I began bringing my family here (previously named Monterey Inn) since 1982. Back then I thought highly of the motel and its location right on the Bayfront. When it changed ownership and became a Best Western, I had no idea how much improvements could have been and were done. Today, in my opinion, this motel far exceeds mostly all of the motels here in the city. Management continues to improve on every aspect of this property. Just when I think it can't get any better, it does. While some rooms are small as they were for years, other, larger and better equipped rooms are available. I've given this motel mostly 10's ratings and that covers the property, the rooms, as well as management and their staff (team).

The location of this hotel is perfect. You are able to hop a tour next to the property. You can walk to the main street and fort. Our room was a little small, but that is okay if you are there to spend your day walking the town. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable. The bad part is parking. There are not enough spaces for all the rooms and our car was boxed in. I will stay there again when I return.

I'm so disappointed. I made a reservation months ago to stay here for the regatta. When I called last week, I was told I had no reservation. But, the charge showed up on my credit card today. I would loved to have come and see the regatta. Someone made a mistake. It was partly my fault but partly someone else's. Shucks. My rating is based upon my staying here several years ago.

We stayed one night here on a multi-state road trip during Covid. Florida was packed and not much social distancing was being done at the hotel or city attractions. We had a nice one bed room ($116) on ground level and everything was very clean. The hotel is in a very busy but very nice location, across from the water and surrounded by tourist attractions. The attendant in the front office was very nice. There is a small deck upstairs with chairs facing the water for community use (I would hate to have the room that is located there also though). Even though the road stayed busy all night, we did not hear any noise in our room. They charged a $15 parking fee which we did not like and had to be directed by a parking attendant due to limited spaces and size of spaces available. We would stay here again if in the area.

This hotel has clean, comfortable rooms and is the perfect location if you want to be within walking distance of everything St. Augustine has to offer. They even have a trolley stop right out front. They do charge a parking fee and parking is tight. And there is no complimentary breakfast. But overall this is usually our first choice due to location.

I have stayed here several times with our service dog. On Oct 24, 2020 manager said we no longer could stay here after today because of my service dog. My husband has had several back surgeries and requires assistance and without his service dog would not be able to go places. She is a large dog, never has caused any issues or damage to a place. This is discrimination and illegal. Contacting corporate. Wanted others to know. As for the stay was noisy up until 2 am when they finally went to bed or passed out.

The room was very clean and welcoming in the daytime, but roaches came out at night in the room. Killing roaches in the middle of the night is unsettling, inexcusable, and disturbing when attempting to sleep. The price charged per night, plus $15 per night parking fee, should provide management with adequate funds to routinely and properly spray the room to prevent guests from paying for unsanitary, unforgettable experiences. BW website: "Our commitment to keeping you safe with industry-leading cleaning standards. We Care Clean. Stay Safe." Obviously not at BW Bayfront St. Augustine.

Stayed in room 102 August 28-29th. Were awaken by Garrett, night time manager, who said we were assigned another room and need to move. At 11:10 PM. When asked why, he became rude and obnoxious saying “because I said so, I work here”. Needless to say, we couldn't sleep all night and the next day was totally ruined. People like Garrett should not work in a hospitality business. Now we have a story to tell on social media and to our friends about Best Western Bayfront St Augustine. It is great to wake up and be able to see the sunrise from your room over the waterway and the Castillo just off to the left. Aside from a great central location, the rooms and recently upgraded and well appointed. There is outside entry to the rooms, an important factor in these Covid-19 times. Julia at the front desk make check-in both painless, rapid, was very helpful with local information and was a pleasure to work with after having driven hours arriving late in the evening. She was even pleasant after fielding repeated complaints from another guest about the need to pay $15. for very limited on-premises parking. We stayed there three times in as many weeks while driving up or down the coast. Great job and we'll be back!

This was a last minute weekend getaway and was surprised to learn there was availability. We're trying to be so cautious in getting out during these uncertain times. Have stayed here many times over the years, but this time was especially delightful. We had a recently refurbished room, happy to see no carpets on the floor, beautiful laminate floors that looked like hardwood. We loved the new bathroom so much we took a picture of the sink/counter space and plan on copying as we refurbish our sinks/faucets at our house. Nice clean bedspread we knew had been cleaned between rentals. We don't feel that is always done in some hotels. The remote is especially nice with the plastic coating that we could tell was clean. Took advantage of the 10% discount and had a wonderful breakfast right next door. Very convenient, didn't even have to move car. Keep doing what you're doing! Very happy with our stay and will be back!

We love this location! For us the check-in staff and staff who clean the rooms are always friendly and able to answer our questions. The rooms are updated nicely, well kept and never had an issue. This time we booked two rooms (one for us one for the kids) and they were able to get rooms side by side. Rooms have small microwave and small refrigerators that we use each time. We know there are less expensive hotels in the area but you really cannot bear this one for location! We park the car and walk everywhere! The only reason it is a 4 is because the pool is not heated.

The hotel itself was clean, service was good. It was very loud with outside noise. There is an Irish pub right next door and the sound travels through the AC unit very clearly. Cars and people go until well in the night and start back up early in the morning. It was only quiet from about midnight until 6 am. If you need a quieter environment this is not the place.

We had great customer service from those that worked at the hotel. We rented the last room and checked in late, they greeted us by name when we walked through the door! The room was very clean and was well equipped with the essentials, iron, shampoo, soap, even make-up remover! The location of the this hotel is in the heart of downtown and an easy walk to literally everything! We used our vehicle once to go over to the island, other than that we stayed put! Conveniently located next door, there is a great breakfast spot called Harbor View Cafe. Great staff, wonderful omelets, waffles, fluffy biscuits to die for and your coffee never goes cold! Get there early or you will be waiting for a table! The ONLY downfall are the walls are paper thin, literally! You hear EVERYTHING. I am speaking from a bottom floor room experience located close to Meehan's Irish Pub that sang into the wee hours of the morn! My husband and I are really easy going so we chuckled at it and then finally fell asleep. We could also hear folks cutting up on their way home from bars behind our room walking down Charlotte St. I wouldn't let this deter you though, get some earplugs, take some Melatonin or request a room upstairs. This place is clean and convenient to everything and we will be back again to stay!

Room was great and the observation deck overlooking the bay was also perfect. It is a little loud into the night with traffic but died down by 11pm. Parking is $15 per night which was not mentioned when booking but not a big deal. Parking is tight but handled by staff so that made it easier. Staff was great and very accommodating. The location is what made this property perfect, so close to everything in old town that we made trips back to the room to drop our shopping items off and go right back out again. Rooms have been updated and are quaint and small. The new beds are a little hard and maybe just need to be broke in a little.

Many times at tourist locations I walk into a room and always feel disappointed. I'm a bit on the fussy side. However when I walked into the room I was really impressed. I was upgraded to a bayfront which was nice but the room itself was very clean - no rug which I loved and the bathroom had been updated with a totally modern feel. If I return to this area I would stay here again. Front desk was also friendly and offered to provide suggestions for dinner if we wanted. The cafe for breakfast (voucher provided) was very good. Overall a great experience.

We were in town for a wedding. The hotel is located in a wonderful spot! The view when you walk out the door is beautiful and right on the water. We didn't have to worry about driving because everything was within walking distance for the most part. The office staff was very nice and answered all of our questions!

I just got back from my stay there, 6 nights we stayed and while it was the only place available for our whole trip, I definitely wasnt aware of a few things (or should I say I WAS NOT told). First I called this hotel directly to make my reservation. I was told the rate would be $170 per night, ok it sounded pricey but the pictures of the place looked great so I booked 6 nights. There was no food availabe unless you went to a cute yet small cafe at the end of this hotel, which was difficult to get a table. The only thing the hotel offered was a brown paper bag with a bottle of water a pre-packaged muffin and an apple. If you didnt get there in the am they were gone. Not a huge deal I guess but I had thought they had a continental breakfast. The rooms were clean, the beds were comfy, the bathroom was spacious but for 2 and the price the rooms are very small, pictures online make it look alot bigger and the pool area was small, couldnt hardly get around it or sit in the sun. The worst 2 things were, the day I checked out it I was not given a receipt as the woman at the desk said they couldnt print one due to the fact that the computer was doing a night audit and that they would email my receipt, ok. I traveled home to NY and checked my email, I was charged a different price for each night of my stay, not the $170 per night I was told, 2 of the nights (being a Friday and Saturday) I was charged $299.00 per night plus fees and taxes), Also was not told there would be a $15.00 per day parking fee. So my main reason for this review is to let people be aware to ask if they stay more than one night ask what each nightly rate will be, dont assume it will be the rate given when you book your stay, and the daily parking fee! I cant believe they charge such a rate per room and still charge guests a daily parking fee. Sadly disappointed!!!!!

This is an old style motel that has been updated. The rooms are small but are nicely decorated and the beds are comfortable. It had the best coffee I've ever had in a hotel room - from Wolfgang Puck. A nice touch was benches on the outdoor walkways to the 2nd floor rooms. One could sit and view the Bay. Parking is guided by a ‘car jockey' that was quite skilled in getting all the cars on the property. Note that there isn't an elevator. The location could not be better for walking around the old town. And the trolley tours stop right there. Breakfast is not included but there is a cafe right by the premises that serves really good down home food. There are many good restaurants nearby, including the famous Columbia. Weekend prices are way higher than during the week - at least in February they were.

The rooms are great. The staff is amazing! The rooms are always clean and always have everything that you need for a very comfortable stay. All the comforts of home in one room! The hotel is close to everything that you ever want to see!

We had been staying at a different location in St. Augustine & decided to extend our stay. We were able to get a great last minute rate at the BW bayfront. Beautifully renovated rooms, great customer service, and a location that cannot be beat.We loved the elevated bayfront deck, great views of the bay.

Great location. Clean and comfortable room. Parking fee of $15/night. Only found out when checking in. Went back, and had to dig on website to find out the fee! Nightly rate change upward each night of our stay, Tuesday through Friday. Friday night jumped $100.00. Both are deceptive, IMO. Be aware for what you are paying and how much.

This hotel is an excellent choice. It's located near most attractions and great restaurants are near by. You can park your car for the duration of your stay. The second floor balcony is welcoming to the guests to look out over the bay while enjoying a cocktail. Highly recommend it.

Best part of this hotel was the location. Trolley stop steps away and walking distance to many attractions. Room was nicely updated and bed was comfortable. Friendly staff. For me the negative was the room was extremely small. Considering the tiny room and parking fee, I didn't think it was a good value.

This hotel has a great location, right across from the bay, next to Hop On Hop Off Trolley stop and within walking distance of everything we wanted to do and see. Valet parking is very convenient. Our car was right under our room in the hotel lot. Check in was quick and easy, ladies at the desk were very nice and helpful. The rooms are on the small side, but very clean and the bathroom had a sliding door, of which I am not a fan. There is no on site cafe, etc., but there are so many restaurants and lounges in the area. Budget was a consideration on this trip and I feel this Best Western was a good value.

We went to St. Augustine with a group of 50 people and this hotel was able to accommodate all of us and our 25 cars! It was clean, and they let us check in early, and it is walking distance to everything!

Even though we were right next to a rowdy bar with loud college students yelling and roaming the streets late at night, our room was still quiet where we were able to get a good night's sleep. The room was smaller than I was expecting but was all we needed for a good night's rest. There is no complimentary hot breakfast but there is a bag with an apple, blueberry muffin, and water to take with you. They also have coffee with pump creamer. Parking is self parking for $15-$25 or so per night. The lot was almost full when we arrived there around midnight, but the clerk went out and found the last spot and directed us to it. There is no elevator and we had to pull our luggage up steps to the second floor. The view of the bay was nice.

The location is fantastic but a few years ago I stayed here and it was 1960's decor etc. They did a wonderful job with the remodel...beautiful bathrooms, plenty of room on counters, plenty of drawer space and great tv, alarm clock, etc. Bed was new but too hard for me. Don't get a room in the back because it is very noisy as there is a bar behind the building that they can't do anything about!

Horrible experience during check-in. We arrived December 30 at 4pm and the front desk person was rude and unwelcoming. She actually gave me an attitude during the arrival! Enough for a terrible start of our vacation. My husband went to the front desk the following day and came back complaining that she gave him an attitude as well! The hotel itself is nice and have a great location but for $300/ night we paid I will definitely look for a different place to stay next time - somewhere where I will feel welcomed or at least treated with courtesy.

This trip started out with the intention to have a fun family night in Saint Augustine only to end with a sore back and charges on my card that should not be there. Stayed here on a voucher for a free night. Got that from being a member and staying two nights in October. Pulled up and the front staff was super nice. At first she could not get the voucher to work but then it went through. She said the only charges would be for parking at $15.00 per day which is totally acceptable. We got to the room and it was nice, remodeled but small. But it was extremely stuff and very hot. So we let it air out and it was okay after that. We did our family thing, got back to the hotel and the room was very hot but again we let it air out and it was fine. The front desk lady warned us about the noise and being surrounded by bars which we were okay with and we totally expected it. Went to settle down for the night and the mattresses were HORRIBLE. All 4 of us got up in pain. Worst sleep ever. We ended actually leaving at 7 am because we just didn't want to be there anymore. I called to check out and we left. Went to check my bank account and noticed two charges one for 119 and another for 75. I called them immediately and was put on hold which was fine. Whomever i spoke too said the voucher was not entered in properly and i was charged for th room and also charged an incidental fee. She then said the mistake was realized and they were reversed. 4 problems with the above 1. I understand mistakes happen however when it comes to other peoples money they should be more careful. 2. The 2nd lady I spoke to on Sunday sounded completely unsure of what was going on so now I don't really trust the whole we made a mistake and fixed it part. 3. Per my credit card company it's going to take a week to a week and a half to get that money back. So now I have to play the waiting game to see if the problem was really resolved. I can't dispute them because they are pending. 4. When i asked her about the parking charges she said they tried to run those but the charge was declined. Um yeah ya think? You all ran my card for $200 that should not have been ran so they would have had their parking fee. I really had high hopes for this hotel. It's in a great area.It's right in the heart of everything and just remodeled. I was disappointed in almost every aspect of this stay. Not cool best western Not cool at all. I'll update this review once this is resolved. My one stay should not really deter people from coming just be aware of potential wrong charges and uncomfortable mattresses. Other than that this hotel would have definitely gone on my list to use again.

This is our first time staying in the old town within walking distance to everything and we will be back again. The room was clean and modern. It was priced right for the location and had the most friendly employees. Put this hotel on your list of places to stay in this great little town.

Parking is a huge issue in St. Augustine. This is one moderately priced place with parking (at $15/day); however it's $15 or $20 for four hours in town. This hotel is within easy walking distance to everything and you never have to move your car. The downside is no breakfast, but there is a little place across from the parking called "Mary's Cafe" that serves nice breakfasts and lunches. We have stayed here several times, but this last time was especially nice in one of their newly updated rooms which were very nicely done.

Out of all the years my wife and I have been coming to St. Augustine, I have NEVER had such a terrible experience with a hotel. We chose to stay at the Best Western Bayfront because of the location, and because it was supposedly “pet friendly”... My wife is 33 weeks pregnant, so I took a chance on this hotel. BIG MISTAKE! The staff was extremely rude. Especially a woman named Sheri Jones. After my wife and I had checked in, and paid $60 non refundable for my dog to stay with us, we were informed that there was nowhere on the property for my dog to use the bathroom! Astonished that a “pet friendly” hotel had 0 accommodations for my pet, I asked what I was supposed to do or where I was supposed to take my dog to relieve herself? The front desk clerk pointed to a 4ft median in the middle of 4 lanes of traffic and said, “that's where you can take her”. It is nearly impossible to get a dog to use the bathroom when you have cars cruising by on both sides at all hours of the day and night. After finding all this out, we inquired about moving to a different property and were told, there was nothing available anywhere else. Even though the Best Western 1.5 miles down the road had vacancies. (I confirmed) We were told we could go to another hotel, but we still have to pay the full price for their poor excuse for a pet friendly room. To make matters worse, our room was directly next door o a maintenance/ housekeeping room and all we could hear was what sounded like unbalanced loads of laundry all night. Not sure if the banging was coming from above us or from that maintenance room, my wife went to the front desk for assistance. The clerk made a phone call, said the guests above us “don't speak English sorry”. That was her course of action! No further inquiries, no solutions offered, just a quick phone call and a shrug is all we got for our nearly $350 a night room... A few other smaller things compounded the poor experience, but I won't go into detail as they were not a prevalent as the main issues. We are extremely disappointed and will absolutely NEVER stay at that hotel again.

This hotel is very nice! Yes, the double queen room was a little small. My family of five fit just fine. I mean your coming to St. Augustine to explore the city not stay in your room all day. The location is great! You can just leave your car there at the hotel because everything is in walking distance. So if your a partier and like to have a few drinks, no worries about getting a DUI. And if you take the trolley tour, there's a trolley stop right at the front of the hotel. We would definitely stay here again and would recommend it to anyone. Only a couple minor things. Only would suggest having bigger trash cans in the room. And where the coffee pot was located I couldn't leave it on the desk to brew. The cord was too short and I would have to unplug a light or the fridge in order to plug it in.

Don't stay there! Not dog friendly! Air conditioner was really loud can't sleep with it on. You have to pay for parking $15.00 a day $30.00 a day for your dog a day $30.00 for cleaning and your dog can not stay in the room without you there! A lot of added prices! Many people talking to the clerk about the added prices. They really will get you! We went for Christmas. Never again!!

You can walk to all attractions, trolley stops in front, able to see fort and bay from hotel, special attention from all employees, they have pleasant smiles. The bathroom looks like special attention was shown to the renovation and I liked the flooring--no rugs

Great location, great price, great people good parking. This place is not fancy but it is fairly nice and it's clean. The parking is a little crazy but they have a good system with a valet that controls who parks where. There a good amount of party noise form all the people, bars and restaurants in the area but it was not loud enough to keep me awake.

Stayed on a thursday night. Loud music from bar at rear of hotel kept going until midnight - impossible to sleep. Complained to reception who said it happens every night. They said they call police every night. At 11.30 my wife went down and got number for police. She rang them and they said officers on the way. Now midnight and just stopped. Hopefully it won't start up again. Shame as no complaint at all with the room.

We were very happy with this hotel. Close to everything rooms were clean and nice. We usually stay at another place but This place a little less expensive and just as nice so we will be staying here from now on.

I've stayed here several times with family and friends. The best asset this hotel has is Julia! She is always helpful, friendly and goes out of her way to make your stay as comfortable and special as possible. The rooms are always clean and nicely appointed. However, I'm not a fan of the barn door for the bathroom. This hotel is in the middle of everything. Much better price than most hotels in the vicinity. Nicely decorated for Night of Lights. Keep up the good work, Best Western!!

My husband and I were so happy with this hotel, from Julia who checked us in and was so helpful, to its ideal location. We loved our bay front room with its view of the water to the large comfortable room and fabulous bathroom with its walk-in shower. We were able to watch numerous trolleys pass our window, but amazingly the traffic and noise abated by ten. We can't wait to go back!

This hotel is in an excellent central location. We were within walking distance of all of the sites we wanted to see, which saved a lot on parking fees. The front desk service was excellent, and the newly remodeled room was just right. I will stay there again.

A beautiful place to stay near everything downtown. We enjoyed the lights. We were able to take our dog every where. She enjoyed the lights as well. Granted she was in her bag. This property offers pet with a fee. So please be aware.

Please don't stay here....I want it all to myself. We have been coming here for years and love it. Pricey, but outweighed by the convenience to everything. Newly renovated (for a second time) and love the new bathrooms.

Great location and time of year to go to see the entire city lit up for Christmas. The price was great and well the parking is extra, but the location and access to the City of St. Augustine is worth it.

This Best Western is in an excellent location - within walking distance to most of the best historic spots and directly on the Old Town Trolley route (it stops right in front of the hotel). The rooms were actually pretty clean and the staff is out of this world! They are so nice and polite and truly care about your stay and getting you anything you need. I mean anything. We ordered take-out the first night and they forgot to give us plastic ware. The front desk clerk got plastic forks and napkins out of their break room for us. The parking is tight, but their other hotel staff keep a very close eye on the spots and ensure that a space is always available for their paying guests, helping you park your car each time you drive in. I cannot say enough about the staff! The rooms are another thing. They are so small - there is no space in the bathroom to leave anything. Even if you were in the room by yourself, there is only enough counter space to leave a toothbrush and maybe a hairbrush. I had to put makeup on the toilet and face products on the floor, pack everything up and put it away each evening and each morning. Further, the room was listed as "Accessible", but there was barely room for a walker to get in between the beds and the dresser. In the bathroom, there was a tub that you would have to step over to get in and a shower chair, but no hose, so there's no way to get a shower without standing up. The beds were really tall. I'm not short and I had to literally climb in bed. My mother had to use the chair to hoist herself in the bed. The water pressure was super low, although the water was warm. The lighting in the room was dismal. It was very difficult to see. My mother had to use a flashlight she happened to have with her to find something she dropped on the floor. The internet speed and accessibility was just fine and the fridge, coffeemaker and microwave were all fully functional and made good coffee and tea. I absolutely LOVED the location and the staff, but the room's dimensions, the poor lighting and the lack of accessibility for my mother's knees/back were enough detractors that we probably will not stay here again. Especially given the price range and the fact that we can get a larger, better-equipped room in an equally good location for the same price or maybe $30 more a night.

At. Augustine is a great city to visit and this Best Western Hotel is at the PERFECT location. Always a great vacation! This hotel is next to every attraction you would want to see during your stay in St. Augustine.

After staying in direct oceanfront 4 star resorts for less than half of this exorbitant fee in the days immediately before , I can't understand where they arrive at what they charge here, and then whack you for $28.00 more for parking (one night) although this site shows parking to be (only) $10.00 extra. Quite frankly the room was quite clean and comfortable, and the location is excellent, but over $200/night total? C'mon! We would have stayed longer except for that issue. We may go back, but not to Best Western Bayfront unless they get reasonable with how deep their hand goes into my pocket.

Great location and nice room. Very good service. My only complaint was the charge of $16.00 per day for parking which was never divulged prior to arrival. I normally stay at the St. George Inn, but thought i would try Best Western. For my next trip, i will return to the St. George, which is more expensive, but difference not material after paying for parking at Best Western.

Leave your car parked at the BW and walk or take a trolley to visit the many sites in St. Augustine! Most sites are within walking distance and the trolly tours and conductors are very informative. BW Bayfront is right in the heart of St. Augustine

We have stayed here several times and enjoy the location. However in past stays we were always given a voucher for breakfast in the restaurant next door. This time when we arrived I asked about the voucher and the clerk said we just had to show our room card. Next morning at the end of breakfast we were surprised to get a bill with just a 10% discount. I went back to the reception to ask about this and was simply told that the policy had changed and breakfast is no longer included. I wish we had been advised of this in which case we might well have gone to a different restaurant.

We loved this hotel. Perfect location, easy walking distance to resturaunts and shops. The coffee in the lobby was always fresh and with real cream. Guest area balcony gave great view of boats, bridge of loins, and water. Will be back . Hopefully sooner than later.

This is the place to stay in St. Augustine! Beautifully remodeled! Friendly staff! Parking right at hotel! Best location and VIEW! Love the deck overlooking bay! Great place to watch sunrise! Lots of people watching and conveniently located for trolley, fort, shops, restaurants! We walked everywhere! They have coffee in lobby as well as your room and a brown bag treat bag each day. Mary's Harbor Cafe is next door for breakfast with best biscuits we ever had! We will definitely stay here again. Loved it! Thank you, Best Western Bayfront!

the room was damp and had terrible odor, the desk person was rude to my guest in the second room when she complained about the remote. she had to go back serveral times ,finally the maint. man gave her batteries .

I loved that the rooms are very clean and newly upgraded. You get two luggage stands in the closet that has an outlet. storage space was great. There are plenty of charging stations that I really love to have. Plenty of towels and if you need more easy to request. As for the price......Well it was St. Augustine Florida. No place is cheap there! So this was one of the best prices at that time.

This is a nice Best Western that charges $15 a day to park and doesn't offer a breakfast (unless you're a more upper level BW member apparently) The back side of the hotel (next to Charlotte street) is across from a rocking little cigar bar that cranks loud music. Late. There are better choices for families to stay

Wanted to visit this town for a long time. Originally booked at the Hilton but when I saw how nice the BW Bayfront looked including a nicer looking swimming pool and lower rates decided this would be a good choice. Arrived on a very rainy day and Julia at reception was very pleasant and helpful. The room was nicely furnished and the beds good, beautiful marble bathroom. All staff very pleasant. The Old Towne Trolley has a stop right in front of the parking lot. At check out Sheri Jones was at reception and she was exceptionally accommodating and caring. All and all a very good stay and the location is terrific. Hope to stay here again in the future. A++.

I have stayed at this property a few times and I have recommended it to a number of folks. I recently stayed there and again I had no complaints. The room was clean and ready for us, they even gave us a room on the ground floor as we brought our pup along and it would be convenient to take him out. We enjoyed our stay and went back home. Later I realized I had an extra charge on my credit card. I called the hotel and gave my information but my reservation was not located. I called again and I was told I had double booked the room, once through Expedia and once through Booking.com. Cheryl took the time to find this for me and to refund the charge that was my error. With that being said, you really can't beat the location and service of this hotel. I highly recommend it and look forward to my next visit.

Read review on this hotel prior to our calling to make a reservation and was extremely disappointed with our room as well as the pet policy. It is the first time I've been told one cannot leave a pet in the room unattended. We travel with two very well behaved cats - how do I take a cat to dinner when the only option was to walk to dinner. The lady at the front desk checking us in was quite abrupt - not terribly welcoming. Would not return - room not up to par. Our feet were actually dirty after walking barefoot in the when we stepped into the shower - will not return. Firs poort experience with Best Western in many years of visiting with our cats.

We are sorry everything was not to your satisfaction. Our Pet Policy that you signed is that the pets cannot be left unattended. This policy is the same for each guest.

The whole facility is upgraded. Very clean. Bathroom was small but upgraded and very clean The room was very comfortable with good AC. I world definitely stay there again or recommend it to my friends and family.

The hotel is newly renovated. Our room was clean, smelled fresh, and everything looked new. There is a balcony on the second floor that you can sit on and watch the bay and the traffic go by. Every employee that we spoke with was very friendly. We will stay here again!

The staff was great. We had a newly remodeled room which was very neat & clean. We did not spend much time in the room other than sleeping but the location is wonderful. This was a terrific place for a quick get away.

We chose the Best Western Bayfront in St. Augustine, FL for its location to everything in Historic downtown. It is within walking distance to the Castillo de San Marcos and the Matanzas River is located across the street. This location had all of their rooms remodeled which are roomy and comfortable. Please note as this a historic area that the bathrooms are small and narrow. All of the 50+ Guest rooms are air conditioned and have flat screen tv's. We have stayed here twice before and no matter which room we have stayed in, it was a relaxing and restful stay. As we were here during the holidays it was wonderful to see the St. Augustine Nights of Lights and the walk along the streets at the Holiday decor.

This is a great location however the parking is terrible. The room was average, clean however, the air conditioner went out the second night and was very loud. The pool is wonderful and clean . The front desk staff is very helpful and nice.

Have no complaints other than I do not agree with a parking fee of $15 per day. Loved the room. King bed and pillow comfy. Loved the outdoor patio that overlooks the harbor. Can't beat the location! You could throw a baseball to the Fort. We will book this location again and again. Thank you!

St Augustine never disappoints!!! Hotel location is the best with an amazing view of the bay. Sunrise to moon rise...Can't beat the view! Restaurants, shopping and all the history are in walking distance.

2 adults with 2 kids (11 & 18). Very comfortable. The rooms look like they've gone thru a recent remodel. They have a guy who directs you with parking your car. He's very nice and knows what he's doing. The front office staff during check in and check out very friendly and always with smiles. The housekeeping staff were just as friendly and helping each other out. They smiling too. The beds are a bid harder than I like but other than that room was comfortable. The refrigerator kept our drinks cold. We did not need the microwave. Across the street from the fort, walking distance to everything: shops and restaurants. We have already booked again for December. The pool water was perfect (pool towels had not been restocked but no big deal-we air dried and took it all in). We even went over to the large terrace and people watched...boat watched...etc. our kids enjoyed the stay and location.

Having stayed at this property several years ago, we were eager to share it with some young relatives who were visiting Florida for the first time. Nothing disappointed. The property is perfectly situated across the street from the Castillo de San Marcos and the breathtaking Matanzas Bay. About the only thing that one could nick them on is the parking situation. There is little real estate on which to park but the staff works extra hard to get cars in and out as neatly as possible. This time we basically left the car parked for the two nights that we stayed, arriving later the first night and then spending the second day in the vicinity of the hotel. Castillo de San Marcos, an eco-trip out into the bay were both within walking distance. We especially enjoyed the wonderful outdoor swimming pool which was convenient to our room. My young cousin and I paddled around in the pool for 4 1/2 hours which has to be a swimming record for both of us. Neither of us really wanted to get out, it was so much fun. The room was lovely, if on the smaller side for two queen beds, but the quality of the beds more than made up for it. The most stunning aspect of our trip was the quality of service from the maids, the front desk, and the parking/maintenance staff. In fact, once I get finished with this review, I'm going to write a letter to their management explaining how several simple acts of kindness made this our best hotel experience this side of the Atlantic.

This hotels best feature was location, but i would spend twice as much to stay ANYWHERE else next year. The overall experience put me off of best western in general for a while. Canceling my rewards too.

The hotel in located in the middle of the town looking for the bay, nice and friendly staff and our room very clean, not big but comfortable. Just walking to a nice place for breakfast, Harbor View Cafe,a really good one and good price, 32 years stablished, definitely you have to visit. In the same sidewalk there are a lot of restaurants, we went to Harry's Seafood & grill, excellent place and exquisite. Walking around the town is a very peaceful and relax feeling, looking all those old building with a lot of history about them. Definitely I recommended the hotel and St Agustine to everybody who like history and entertainment.

We chose the BW Bayfront for the location. We were able to check in at 1pm. We were pleasantly suprised by the cleanliness and also the updated bathroom. We were on the 2nd floor in the middle and had a nice view of the bay. I will definitely stay here on my next trip to St. Augustine.

Very clean room with a wonderful front desk that goes out of their way to help you with dinning recommendations. They have a nice size pool. Excellent location with a wonderful covered deck that has a nice view of the bay. We would definitely stay here again. Good value for the perfect area!

Some of the cons: the hotel has tight parking, you pay to park when staying at the hotel, there is no breakfast included, beds are hard, bathrooms are tiny, (my shower leaked), and the nearby restaurant is slammed in the morning so it's hard to get in. The pros: good location, fantastic staff (front desk Julie? Hope that's her name), and the view is nice. All the hotels are very expensive on the weekends so be prepared to spend upwards of 250 a night here. Not really sure if it's worth that??? I would probably opt to stay someplace else.

This was the best hotel location on the water. Everything from the check in, the updated rooms, the covered balcony for relaxing in the evening, to the small but very cozy pool was amazing. We will certainly be back again.

Pros: Location, fair price, clean rooms and nice staff. Con: rock hard beds, micro bathroom (see the picture need I say more) and while parking wasn't a challenge for us it was for others, but it is provided. During our vacation this week we stayed at 4 different hotels this was the most uncomfortable of them all. Oddly enough the bathrooms seemed to shrink from hotel to hotel. I fear if that trend continued the next bathroom would be the size of a phone booth. Fortunately home is the next stop. Beds, I typically stay at another chain of hotel but was going to change that trend due to some rock hard beds we've had. I mean if you like sleeping on the floor then you'll like this mattress. Im a big guy and I like to have a softer mattress. Thank goodness we only stayed one night here.

We needed an inexpensive hotel in the heart of the Old Town St. Augustine- found it! The property is right on the bay walk- steps from everything TOURISTY- food, et al- The room was smaller - very clean- updated- STAFF WAS GREAT!!!! There is a pool, an upstairs very comfortable covered outdoor lounge area for people and bay watching! If you need a solid place with steps to it all, yes- the BW is for you.

This Hotel is newly remodeled and very clean. And every single person working there goes above and beyond to make your stay pleasurable. The price is great. There is a common overlook where travelers congregate for conversation and the best view in St. Augustine. There is no elevator and parking is tight, but on staff parking attendants assisted us in and out of our assigned spaces. Nice pool. Friendly staff makes this a wonderful stay.

The location is perfect! Walking distance to the Castillo and to the Old City, plus many great restaurants and shopping. We got a recently renovated room that looked great and was very clean. Two things keep this from being a 5 star experience. Although the bathroom is totally new and modern, the design of the shower could have been better. You have to reach way into the shower to turn the water on and we never mastered doing it without getting wet! Secondly, the sliding shower door had a gap at the bottom that made the bathroom floor sipping wet. We had to get more towels to sop up the water on the floor after each shower. Such a shame that the new design isn't more functional. The air conditioner also was quite noisy. Seems like that was an older type unit and probably not part of the renovation. Staff was friendly and helpful. For the location, it was a good experience overall.

First the good. Room is in a great location. Right outside your door are plenty of restaurants, bars and attractions than you could possibly do in a limited vacation window. The pool is very nice. The staff does a really good job helping you find parking. Now the bad. In our room there was no way to lock the bathroom door. It was a sliding closet door type and it made it impossible for privacy. Renovations were and are going on in the rooms next to us and above us. Lots of drilling and banging most of the day. It was really annoying that the quoted charge was lower than what I was billed. They charged me for one night before I arrived and the remaining balance when I checked in. When I checked the charge at my bank it was about $30 more than the quoted price. I didn't like it but accepted it without question. On the day we check out there was an additional $50 that had been charged. As much as I hated , I went by the desk and they told me the charge was for incidentals and it would come off. I think letting you know up front rather than on the day of check out would have been better. I hate not knowing exactly what I'm being charged. Two days later the $50 was put back into my account. Overall we had a good time but I don't think we will stay here again.

This hotel had a very convenient location. It is right next to the road and bars. It was not a quiet room though, you can hear all noise going on outside. The worst part for me was that the room had roaches.

Located just around the corner from the fort, it's only 2 blocks to St. George St., and there's a trolly stop at the corner of the parking lot. In addition, the office staff is very helpful in providing information about the area and available discounts.

This is an updated, older hotel. The rooms were nicely renovated with a microwave and refrigerator. The location is perfect. We were able to lwave the car parked and walk to all areas of old city. We would stay here again.

great location to old St. Augstine. Mostly everything we wanted to do eat, shop sites we were in walking distance. This place is across from a small bay where assortment of boats were . we had a great view from the balcony of everything comning and going.

Great place to relax and vacation. We stay here every time we are in St. Augustine. The view from the Bayfront room window is amazing! The balcony is public however ..you can not hear other people when they are up there. Everything you want to see or any where you want to go is walking distance. Best Western Bayfront St Augustine is the perfect location for visiting the historic district of St Augustine. Front of hotel faces water and the back IS the historic district. Rooms are small which is expected in a historic district but clean and comfortable.

Check in was fast. Our room was just redone and I must say it was beautiful. Bed was a king and very comfortable. Bathroom was a little small but redone very nicely. Shower was beautiful, sink and vanity were very nice also. They had complementary water bottles, refrigerator and microwave. I would not hesitate to stay there again. It also was in such a convenient location. Staff was also very helpful as far as recommendations for restaurants and touring.

My sister booked this hotel for us as a thank you. What a nice location. Easy walking distance to every where except lighthouse! But you can get the hop on hop off tour right on front of hotel. Nice deck to have cocktails on and watch the waterfront. Staff was very helpful. Great price especially for location. I would stay here again.

The room had stains on the wall, was extremely humid, smelled so gross, and not good at all. I would never come back here again. The bathroom looked like the tub had never been cleaned. The door wouldn't shut either. The toilet paper from the people who had stayed before was still there.

This motel is the perfect place to stay when visiting St. Augustine. We park our car and it never leaves the parking lot until it is time to leave. Hotel is in a great location. Right across from the harbor and there is a covered upstairs porch over the office where you can sit and enjoy the view. The rooms are clean. Bathroom is small but the location makes up for that. Staff is great !

The perfect spot to stay near all the action in St Augustine! Stop #7 on the Old Towne Trolkey route. It feels like a boutique hotel due to the newly updated quaint rooms. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable about the area. They were very helpful when I needed to print some travel documents. Parking is at a premium but we weren't inconvenienced. Walking or taking the trolley is the way to go downtown.....just a couple blocks from St George St. We would stay there again

Fantastic location, trolley stop right in front, excellent little restaurant two steps away and fantastic drinks and food right around the corner. If you want to be near the historic district this is the place! Clean, comfortable rooms (bathroom is small) but you have to pay a daily parking fee (caught me off guard as I thought the higher price should include parking and the lot is packed). Will stay again, clean, friendly and location, location, location!

This hotel is located on the waterfront. I got a decent rate by booking early. The front desk staff was nice and ready with advice on where to eat and even discout coupons for various restaurants. The location of the hotel is excellent and you can sit on the deck and watch the lights in the bay and see the lighthouse. However, they were doing construction when we were there and our rooms door was partically blocked by rolls of carpet, which was a fire danger, especially as we had a family member in a wheelchair and this was an accessible room. Also, the rooms were not ready when we arrived at check in time, nor were they ready an hour later after we returned from dinner. So I give a 4 for the location and front desk staff and a 3 for the housekeeping and upkeep while doing construction.

We wanted a couple of days to enjoy Old Town St. Augustine on foot. This hotel was in the best location!... right in Old Town at the watefront overlooking the intracoastal waterway near the fort. The room was large, clean, comfortable, and modern with a refrigerator, microwave, coffee pot, lots of USB ports, and hair dryer. Our room was upstairs overlooking the pool with gorgeous view of the water from the covered sitting area outside our room. The front desk staff were extremely helpful in suggesting restaurants for breakfast and dinner, tour train information, and transport to the tour train depot. This hotel was priced higher than I would prefer to pay but the excellent location, facility, and staff made it worth it!

Great location if your wanting do walk everywhere down, there are only a few places to visit that are out of walking distance. However, parking was limited even though your staying here, we had to park in a coned off area bumper to bumper with a few other cars as there were no spot left available (and an additional $15 parking charge) and the walls are paper thin so we heard “everything” happening outside and in the room above us..... clean and friendly location and staff overall a decent experience.

Hotel has small rooms,but well appointed and clean. Friendly housekeeping staff. Great location within walking distance to all the shops,Fort and restaurants. The 'Backyard" at Meehan's has great hamburger's! The only problem is the street noise at times. They provide earplugs. We had a disturbance with some of the guests at 3AM. There were 3 males yelling at each other in the parking lot. Luckily it did not escalate!

They are remodeling but the process is being handled very nicely. The redone rooms are very nice but on the small side since this is an older facility. The room was clean and the bed comfortable plus the staff was professional and polite. There is a charge for parking but on the other side your right in the middle of all the action in St. A. Just a short walk to all kinds of restaurants and activities. We'll be back

Nice location that you can walk everywhere and look at a beautiful view of the bay. Its an older hotel with small rooms but with modern upgrades. The breakfast is a brown bag special. You will also need to figure in your budget for parking. Yes, parking is on the grounds but there is a $15.00 fee.

We're frequent visitors to St. Augustine and used to stay at the Best Western on West Castillo, which is no longer there. This was our first time staying at this property. This Best Western was a retrofit of an older motor lodge and I commend Best Western for doing their best to bring the hotel quality up. The rooms are a bit small, but are nice. The walls and ceiling are a bit thin and we could hear activity going on above us and on the street behind us. The air conditioner looked like a window unit that was retrofitted into a all unit of sorts, but it worked just fine. The room and bathroom were very clean. The housekeeping staff do a nice job. The front desk staff were very pleasant and extremely welcoming. The biggest down side was the parking, which was pretty yucky and difficult. It always looked and seemed like the parking was poorly laid out. Hopefully this will change in the future. The only other short coming is that there is no complimentary breakfast. Mary's Bayfront restaurant is right next to the hotel and offers a 10% discount to hotel guests, so points there for trying. Overall, the clean rooms, friendly staff, reasonable rates, and great location make staying here worthwhile. I know we will be back.

We chose this for the price, and central location. Less $$ than the nearby Hilton. It is a motel, with room doors on an outside walkway. Desk staff Sherri and Julia were great. Needed a refund for a trolley tour we couldn't make, and it was given quickly. Room 228 was clean. Door did not close properly, had to tug on it. We hung a do not disturb tag, and the cleaning staff was kind enough to hang a bag with extra towels, etc. on the door knob after 2 days (it was not needed, but surely a nice touch!). Room has no door to the bathroom sink area; kinda weird. Bathroom, with shower and toilet (and a door), was very small, and had no fan. Shower had cushioned bottom, kinda weird to stand on. Woken up each AM at 6:30 by garbage truck in rear alley, next to adjacent restaurant. Oh, well. Good TV station selection, even MLB network! Bed was nice and firm, pillows were good. Lighting in the room was lacking, need brighter lamps at the bedside for reading.

The location of this hotel is ideal. It's right in downtown St. Augustine walking distance from the majority of the restaurants and shops. It's a renovated 1950's motorlodge, so the rooms are very petite. This wasn't an issue except the showers were extremely narrow. Also, due to the older nature of the property, the walls were quite thin. Additionally, the beds didn't have a comforter or blanket over the sheets. Hopefully they will fix this, but in the mean time I would come prepared.

Courteous and helpful staff. Perfect location for touring the historic sites. Most helpful is the Old Town Trolley stops right in front of the hotel. Very convenient. I agree with other reviewers that the parking situation is really tricky. However, since we used the trolley or walked to wherever we wanted to go, we never had to move the car. We also agree with other reviewers that the bathroom was extremely small. I saw a doll house at the Lightner Museum there that had a bigger bathroom. We also experienced some nights where very loud parties or loud fights in the parking lot made sleeping in the early AM all but impossible. Overall not a bad stay. If you decide to stay here, I would just keep in mind that these are common observations among the guests.

Great Hotel in the Historic District , very close to Castillo de San Marcos. Many of the historic sites were within walking distance . Room had a good view of the Bay . Many great restaurants are also within walking distance .

Second trip here in the last year (I stayed here all the time as a child before it was a Best Western). I will always stay here when I am in town. You cannot beat the location of this place. It is SO convenient! Also, the staff is wonderful. Parking can get a little tight, but they are great at helping you find a spot for your vehicle on the property. There were a few rooms that were being remodeled, but it did not disrupt us at all. I read on one review that parking is not free, but it definitely is. There are a few rooms that back up to a few bars and restaurants, which can be slightly loud at night, but you should expect that if you are staying so close to everything in the old town area. For this trip, our room did not have a window (did last time) and I did not hear any music or anything from the bars. Room was great. They are a bit small, however that is also to be expected in the historic area. I would recommend this hotel if you are looking for a convenient hotel for your trip.

Although our room was small, it was very clean and comfortable. The complimentary coffee in the lobby was as good as any coffee shop. The location was perfect for touring the historic district. The parking attendant was able to get us onto the lot and safely parked.

Hotel is under construction the rooms are half done parking is a nightmare because of construction and not free but that was not on the website. Don't get suckerd in to the breakfast vouchers you will still have to pay more. But the view is nice

Location is terrific so close to everything in Old Town. Never had to take car out once parked. For that area the prices was very resonable for being in the Old Town area. Room was very clean and spaceouse. The only major issie that is a complaint is that my room back wall had on the other side a bar and heard the music from it until 1:40am. Did not get much sleep because of that.

This hotel should be used as a last resort. Yes, it is dog friendly and has a great location. However our room smelled so much like the grease pit from the restaurant next door that it made us nauseous. Simply put, it's a crash pad for the party scene and should be treated as such. The location was great and the staff was pleasant. It wasn't as clean as we thought it should be especially since we had to pay an additional $135.00 for our dog which included the cleaning fee. There was dirt all along the edge of the floor and then there was the soap and shampoo left in the shower from the previous guests. That should never happen. I did bring it to the atttention to the front desk and they said they would look into it. With all of that said the room was comfortable they just need to make sure the room is cleaned thoroughly.

There's no doubt that this property is in a prime location, with so much within walking distance, and has a great view. But if you want to actually sleep comfortably in your motel/hotel room, this is not the place for you. The beds are incredibly uncomfortable. Not only that, but because the rooms exit directly outside and the parking lot is right there, it is SO loud. And people just walk by the rooms loudly talking. I've stayed in places that are in big cities and/or have thin walls, etc., but this was an entirely different level. The rooms, by the way, also only have wall unit A/C and heat that I'm not entirely sure work effectively. Thank God we were only here for one night. If you want a no-frills place in a spot that's within walking distance to a lot of stuff and don't mind loud bangs constantly, people talking constantly, and other loud noises at all hours, maybe this could be an option. Otherwise, maybe it's worth looking elsewhere.

We two Aussies visited St Augustine on a drive from Washington to Orlando when the Christmas lights were still up and wished we could have stayed longer. The town is a bit touristy but a lot of fun. The hotel was great and the staff were so friendly and helpful. Our comfortable room had a view out to the waterway from the second floor which was good. The only negative was the band music coming from an establishment on the street behind the hotel that finally stopped around 11pm. The sound crept in through the air-conditioning vents so could not be stopped. Luckily it was good live blues but we didn't need it! The parking is TIGHT but staff were always on hand to ensure it was pain free. Would stay again though.

Right in the heart of downtown St Augustine, this hotel has it all! A very friendly, courteous staff with a perfect location to all the scenic tours this beautiful city has to offer. I thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. Visiting while the holiday lights were on was awesome! The hotel took part in the decorations, which were beautiful! The staff was welcoming, and the woman who checked me in rejoiced in the fact that I was a loyal gold member in the Best Western loyalty program! When she offered my free gifts, she was truly happy for me! They are renovating, so we seen alot of space in the parking lot taken up with building materials, but they proficiently found us a place to park! This was the most smoker friendly hotel I have ever seen, with benches and smokers outposts amply available on the second level! The rooms are situated where a view of the bay is available for everyone! A very nice bayfront leisure area is there for lots of relaxation. Rooms are clean, and newly renovated. Beds are comfy, rooms are quiet, and staff are very helpful, pleasant, and upbeat! Location is perfect!

The rooms in the back of the property are next to a bar/ nightclub. This happened once before. The next time we go I will ask for a room other than this area. I'm not sure they will do this but it's worth a try. The reason we stay here is the spectacular view of the water.

This is the place to stay when in St. Augustine. It's in the middle of the Historic District with in walking distance of all the shops. They have re-done all the rooms and it is a great addition. The rooms are much nicer than before. Check in was a breeze and the staff is very helpful.

No breakfast served, fake online pictures of hotel, over priced and super thin walls you could hear couples having sex! This was not worth it at all very loud area and not enough Insulation. Area is good that's all.

Best thing about the Best Western Bayfront is its location. No need to drive anywhere if you're staying at this hotel since you're the hear of historic St. Augustine. I did find the rooms to be small.

Stayed for Sunday thru Wednesday morning for New Years Eve. While checking in the two attendants seemed frazzled. When they finally got to us we had another couple staying with us who hadn't arrived yet so asked about an additional parking spot. The attendant was very short with us when saying they didn't have extra spots so asking where they could park got a halfhearted answer. She quickly wanted me to sign some paperwork which I did. Wish I read it. Where I signed said that parking was $15 a day on top of the inflated cost of the room. So our friends got there and we parked them in the city parking garage for a flat rate of $15. Not $15 a day but $15 total for the 3 nights. I found out about the parking when checking out with Sheri who we knew from Spanish Oaks Best Western. I learned more in 3 mins listening to her explanation to a guest in front of me than when originally checking in. They really need to have the other front desk attendants train with her. She would be the only reason for me to come back to Bayfront Best Western. Pros: Close to everything downtown, great view of the bay on upstairs patio, remodeled rooms. Cons: Pay for parking, unhelpful front attendants, bathrooms are built for the original Spaniards living in St. Augustine.

Wonderful hotel and attached cafe right on the bay of St. Augustine old town. Older hotel with many new upgrades and new included breakfast. The cafe is wonderful and Miss Mary is a charming treat to visit with in the cafe.

We had a horrible experience with the hotel and the customer service. Roof work was being done at 9 am directly above our room, the manager made it seem like it was our fault. She was very rude and not helpful at all. Would not recommend. Do not waste your money here.

The location of this hotel could not be better to visit historic st augustine. We were there on a holiday weekend, which made it quite expensive, but worth it. The room was clean and recently renovated. The parking lot was very full, but they found us a place, and all staff were very nice. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

It offers a beautiful view of the bay and the Nights of Lights from a shared, large balcony, but that's all this hotel has that's special. We experienced an uncomfortable bed, broken towel bar, loud A/C unit, and street noise at night. It was clean and the staff was very friendly.

This is a great location. Close to everything. Parking is very tight but they do have a parking attendant that helps you with parking. We wish they provided a breakfast. It looks to be very recently remodeled. The bed was VERY comfortable and bathroom was very modern and clean.

We've stayed here before but this latest visit was much better than the last.This hotel is in a PERFECT location. Across from the old fort, facing the bay and within walking distance of the historic district.A number of restaurants, boutiques, museums and souvenir shops are just a short walk away. I've been to St.Augustine many many times and for the money you will be hard pressed to find a decent motel more centrally located for the price we paid.Also, BEWARE before you book a place because even though they may say "in the historic district" you could end up with a lot of walking. And always ask for the TOTAL price of the room because of all the add ons (parking fee, taxes etc.).The rooms here have been recently updated and look quite nice.

This is becoming one location that we aim to stay at when we visit St. Augustine. The location and usually the price is the draw for us. In addition, the rooms are updated and always clean. No complaints with housekeeping or the check-in staff. At night, there is noises in the street behind the hotel, but that is nothing that can be helped by the hotel. That is something you must deal with when staying in a city hotel. Our neighbor one night, in an adjoining room, did decide to blast his tv on full blast one evening around midnight, but fortunately after an hour he had enough.The room that we stayed in was updated with laminated flooring and was always clean. Nice to know that you have nothing to worry about after a day out exploring the area. The bed will be made, and amenities used, replaced.The check-in staff is always professional and yet pleasant. She definitely has a system going on. The parking attendants are equally great at their job. My husband checked out, and his only comment was that the woman that checked him out was not very pleasant.

Generally everything was fine. However, at this price level you would think there would be some sort of breakfast other than a brown bag. The location fo this facility is great, close to tram pick-up and good resturants.

Reasonably priced hotel, and great location. Great alternative to staying at one of the numerous bed & breakfast rooms. Hotel has a nice common area balcony with tables and chairs overlooking the water. Parking was very convenient.

We love this hotel you can walk all over downtown to shop restaurants and bars you are in the middle of everything here we come to see and do not sleep so if you are looking for a place to just rest this place may not be the one for you its lively and fun.the staff where so friendly and helpful with places to go and see .The rooms are very clean and nice . The beds were so comfortable and made up like a spa with really cute towel Art . We always come here for our vacation and are never disappointed with our stay we give give it a 5 star. Always clean & comfortable! Everyone working there were so professional and kind! Walk to St George Street, rides in a horse drawn carraige, eat at Osteens. Everything about the motel is just over the line of wonderful!

I stayed here last year, while driving home to Fort Lauderdale; and I decided to do the same this year on my repeat road trip. Bridget remembered me and my pet (service animal) rabbit, Narvik. I had a minor problem with housekeeping entering my room, while I had the “Privacy Please” on my door, but Assistant General Manager Sheri Jonas; promised that it would not happen again. The rooms are very nice, and the beds are comfortable. Sheri and her whole staff, including Bridget; are friendly and professional, and an asset to the hotel. Never heard of this area but what a treat. This is the oldest colonial town in the US. The town is chock full of historical buildings, restaurants, forts and charming architecture. This hotel is right in the center of it all overlooking the bay. It has been recently remodeled and updated the interior but the rooms are extremely small. We could not fit in the bathroom together and the room just had enough space for a bed and 2 nightstands plus a dresser. We were offered ear plugs on the first day just in case the music from neighboring venues was too loud. I used it on the second night. the music ended around 1am. Our king size bed had terribly loud springs and we could barely turn over without it waking us up. We should have asked for another room but we only stayed a few nights. The refrigerator was also leaking on the day we arrived. The front desk was very helpful and so was the parking lot attendant. Overall we enjoyed our time at this hotel (more of a motel) because of its central location.

The hotel was in a great location. But the rooms are very small, particularly the bathroom. Also, since the back walls are right on the street, it was very noisy at night and early morning. The room was clean enough though, and the staff was friendly.

This hotel is in a fantastic location. Could walk to most everything and the trolly stop was right in front. The rooms were small and mostly clean. Had the basics but no frills. The staff were great and it was nice that they left clean towels hanging on the door when we had our do not disturb sign up. The pool was small but nice. The 2nd floor common patio was nice too. The weekend room rates were ridiculous for this hotel.

The only reason I'm giving 2 stars is because of its location and the room was newly refurbished. However, the staff were rude and unprofessional and the housekeeping was poor. No shampoo or soap replacements for 4 night stay with 4 people!! Tile floor was never vacuumed or swept once during our stay. Had to ask for extra towels daily as they only give enough for 2 people in a "2 Queen beds" room! Garbage cans and ashtrays on the walkway were always filled and once with smelly dirty diapers!! Had to get the guy to empty it, which took him hours to complete. Candy wrappers (not from us) remained on the welcome mat outside our room door for 3 days before someone swept them up!! This motel allows dogs so beware!! Dog barking and crying for hours next door to us for 2 nites in late evening until its owner returned!!! They charge for parking!!! $10.00/day!!!!! This was not told to me when I booked the room! Not enough coffee in the AM for all patrons. Needed to wait for them to refill the canister! And... worst of all was the size of the bathroom!!!!!! Whoever designed the layout of these rooms must have been smoking something!! The bathroom had a tub and toilet and it was so narrow and small that you have to enter the bathroom sideways and if you needed to come out of the shower, you needed to contort your body sideways twice to get out of the bathroom!!! it was RIDICULOUS!!! My kids even had a difficult time maneuvering in and out!!! Never, in my life, have I seen a bathroom that small in a motel/hotel!!!! Crazy, Crazy!!! And to top it off, for 2 consecutive nights from 11pm until 3am, city workers were jack-hammering the street right outside room. Couldn't wait to leave!!!! NEVER AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This was NOT the Best Western!!!!! This was the WORST WESTERN ever!!!!!

My wife and I spent a couple days here and it was a very pleasant stay. The location is fantastic because two of the attractions I wanted to see were so close you can walk to them. Everything was great with the hotel, from check-in to check-out everything went smooth and without problems. The room was just as I asked for when I made the reservation which included a king sized bed. The room was clean and had plenty of towels, plus the veranda on the second floor has a nice view of the bay. This was my first trip to St. Augustine and we would certainly stay here again, highly recommended.

Great location walk to everything or hop on the trolley which stops directly in front of the hotel. Great Mantanzas Bay views which includes the Bridge of Lions. Clean rooms with new everything, including marble baths! Great and attentive staff and good parking.

On our recent weekend trip to St. Augustine, we were planning on getting a room at one of the hotels on nearby Anastasia Island, which would probably be less pricey than one located in downtown St. Augustine. However, given the difficulty in finding good parking in that town, we decided to splurge a bit and get a hotel downtown. We chose the Bayfront Inn, a good choice. It wasn't cheap- $536 for two nights, but we were right smack dab in the historic district, almost all the sights were in walking distance, and there are trolley services that cover the city, to allow you to get around without having to drive. The room was very clean. The bathroom was rather small compared to other hotels I've stayed in, but that may be due to the fact that the hotel was built in the '40s. The hotel doesn't offer much of a breakfast (coffee, and some other items); however, Mary's Harbor View Cafe next door offers a 10% discount to hotel guests- simply show your key card to the server. The beds were very comfortable.

Stayed here overnight during our trip down the East coast of Florida. It's in a central location overlooking the harbour. Our room, located at the front, with amazing views was immaculate and so comfortable. Although it's central we were surprised how quiet it was at night. Would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it.

We have stayed at the BW Bayfront on several occasions and always enjoy ourselves. It has been renovated and the you can't beat the location. The pool was very refreshing especially since it was so hot. Summer in FL is brutal so it was a welcome addition. It is a bit more pricey than others and parking is limited. Try to car pool if travelling with others.

The rooms were under construction we were told it would stop at 5 and not start until 10 in the morning. 930 in the morning the construction started. This was after not sleeping most of the night because the AC unit in the room makes a ton of noise. Went down to the front desk and Julia was rude and had no interest in fixing the problem. Even though the location was great I would never stay here again. The rooms are small and musty.

I was pleasantly surprised when I saw my room (#232). Very clean, updated, nice decor, great view of the Intercoastal Waterway, The Bridge of Lions & the fort. The only reason I don't give it 5 stars is the bathroom. It is very small, but still functional. I'm not a big person, but it was a tiny bit of a squeeze to get the door closed. This could be an issue for football player sized folks. Parking is tight, but they do a good job of managing to get everyone in. Location is perfect for walking to most of the cool destinations. This isn't a high-end type of hotel, but more of an old-school FL hotel that is very well maintained & nicely updated. I'm definitely using this hotel for future visits.

What a great value for a view of the water right in the heart of old St. Augustine! Everything is within walking distance. I got a great nights sleep because the bed was very comfortable! We travel to St. Augustine often and this was our first stay in this hotel, but it won't be our last!

This hotel looked very much like an old-school motel (which I'm sure it used to be). The room was clean & looked recently redecorated but the bathroom was too small to turn around in, and the street noise was loud all night. No breakfast options either.

Best location in town, you are across the street from the fort and a block away from all the shops and restaurants. The hotel was very clean and the rooms were very nice and updated. The only downfall was the parking was a little cramped and the charge you extra to park at the hotel you are already spending money to stay at. They have a nice pool and little areas to just sit and relax.

I loved the location of this hotel!! We were right in the heart of everything I wanted to do! The pool was super warm and comfortable. The staff was friendly and the sheets were clean. Can't ask for much more! The bathroom however was awkwardly small

Now this is LOCATION! Right on the main road, overlooking the bay. Bridge of Lions to your right and the Fort on your left. Historic Village filled with shops and restaurants is directly behind hotel and easy walk anyway. Plus the Town Trolley has a pick up drop off right in front. The hotel has a open deck on second floor above office with seating for 12. Great place to enjoy the breeze and take in the views. Our room was a King with microwave and fridge. nice enough size. The hotel is pet friendly and the floor is a wood laminate look. Nice large LED TV and comfy bed. Front office has complimentary coffee and water for those day time walks - it is brutal hot in summer. Front Desk Manager was very helpful, friendly and social. It will be our go to place for the next visit.

First of all the local was outstanding. The hotel overlooked the bay and bridge of lions. Staff at check-in was extremely friendly to deal with and also quite helpful. Bed was comfortable. Only negative is the size of the bathroom and shower. Not much bigger than a cruise ship but not bad enough to downgrade the rating. I defined recommend.

I'm guessing if you are reading reviews for BW Bayfront you aren't looking to splurge for Casa Monica--so in that case this a perfect choice! We had never been to the area and although I reaserched the hotels thoroughly I was SO thankful I didn't book in advance. Not until we got there and drove around could we see REALLY what hotels we would consider in the walking district. Many of the local hotels are technically allowed to call themselves that but are too far for my feet to walk from. Or just not in a picturesque area at all. I won't mention those but know that for the money, you cannot beat the BW Bayfront location. They sell the old trolley passes right at the front desk and one of the designated pick up stops is directly in front of the hotel. Ill add that we are not your typical BW customers. I was so nervous about the room that I asked to see before paying. (normally stay at Hilton or Marriott properties) Our room was on the 2nd floor. All rooms have exterior entry corridors (like motel/motor lodge style). To our pleasant surprise noise was not an issue with the large window in the rooms that people have to walk past. No traffic noise issues. The rooms are simple and clean. The bathrooms are small and very clean-fine for us for one night. A/C worked great. I would recommend to anyone needing a clean basic room for one night to enjoy the best of St Augustine. We felt like we got a very good value.

Enjoyed our stay. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The room was on the small side, but we were comfortable. Newly remodeled. Only negative was that the floor needs to be mopped with the cleaning. Turned my feet black, had to wear shoes while walking around room. Beautiful view of bridge.

We stayed at this property on Sunday June 3, 2018. Julia the Front Desk Manager allowed us to check in early.She is so nice! The hotel is located across the street from the Fort. Once you park one can walk any where to the downtown restaurants, shops and attractions. The room is clean and comfortable and has a mini fridge and microwave. The hotel lobby is small therefore no free breakfast is available but free coffee is. I would definely stay here again.

The location is great but that's it! the hotel is surrounded by bars which blast music until 1am. not great any night of the week but especially when we were only staying one night and it was a Monday. The ad states free WiFi. This is only available in the middle of the car park and wouldn't even find the link in the room. rooms were cleanish but could do with a refresh. not much parking so if you get there after 9pm good luck!

We enjoyed staying here for one night while we walked around the Historic St. Augustine. This hotel is located across from the Bay and we could sit in the nice seating area located above the entrance and watch the boats go by and pass under the Bridge of Lions when the drawbridge opened. Our room was clean and breakfast is located at the restaurant next door which accepts the voucher you receive upon check in. Staff was helpful and friendly.

What a great stay. Location was perfect, close to everything and the trolley picked you up right out front. The hotel was very nice and clean and loved the coffee machine at the front desk. Rooms looked like they have just been redone, very clean, and comfortable with everything you need, micro, fridge, soap, towels etc. The best part was the staff, always smiling and helpful, especially Julia, she was working during the day so I dealt with her the most, she was very helpful, happy and had great advice on where to go and what to see and eat (pizza suggestion, thank you) and always had a big smile on her. She is a real asset to the Best Western Company. Thanks again, will definitely stay there again. H.H

We were charged a pet cleaning fee for a room with NO mats or carpet, no green space for dogs and barely any mulch. We were granted parking on sight then had it revoked hours later to be directed to public parking where we were TOLD it was safe (had our cars packed to the gills) and FREE. It was neither... and we got a $25 ticket. They said FREE breakfast... but was told that wasn't true when we checked in and the girl reluctantly handed us a voucher for a $6 item per person at the next door cafe. The rooms are unrealistically small, the bathroom had lots of tiny black bugs. The door open to the outside so in my experience, that is NOT a HOTEL but rather a MOTEL. The front desk blonde was a hot mess! I would never stay here again.

First the positives. The hotel is in a great location overlooking the intracostal waterway with views of the Lions Bridge and very easy walking distance to St George's Street and the many attractions of St Augustine. There is also an Old Town Trolley tour stop on the door step. The rooms are small, especially the bathroom, which has a shower to high for most normal stature people. Our room was located on the right of the property and on one night it seemed we were in the middle of a nightclub which made sleeping difficult. Added to that we were located by a stairway to the upper floor down which guests bounced their cases and we were close to the ice vend machine that turns out to be very noisy. On two days we did not have our room serviced until we complained at Reception. All in all not a great stay.

Recently stayed in this hotel for two nights while attending a wedding. The location is terrific. Right across the street from the intercoastal waterway, and within easy walking distance of most of the St. Augustine historic district and numerous restaurants and bars. But this is a very old facility, and it shows. The parking area requires a shoehorn, and excellent driving skills to navigate, and it's not free. The entrance to my room, which was excellent in appearance, was very close behind an exterior stairway leading to the second floor rooms, leaving me subject to foot traffic noise. The rear wall of my room must have been the wall of a nightclub behind the hotel. Although I couldn't see the source of the loud music, I felt like the band was in my bathroom. And it went until the early hours of the morning. And then, to add insult to injury, the morning of checkout day, the occupant of the room above me took a 30 minute shower causing the water to back up into the sink in my bathroom and overflow to the point that it covered a portion of the bedroom area floor. I was able to put my possessions on my bed to keep them dry. There's a reason this is a AAA 2-diamond hotel, but they're charging 4-diamond prices.

Reserved what I think is the most expensive unit in the hotel, billed as bay front. Beautiful view. Room not so much. Plumbing problems, missed housekeeping, motel-grade furnishings. With the view, it should be priced higher than other rooms ($300 after taxes) but the room itself should also be of equal value

Nicely situated on the bay front, easy walking to the historic district, restaurants and shops. Parking is a bit of an issue but friendly staff assist. No breakfast on site but the coffee shop next door is very good.

We had room 232 on the front of the hotel. The bathroom area was so small, you had to step into the area and over the toilet in order to shut the door. I am an average guy, but I had to turn to the side just to step through the doorway. It was a cool night, but our a/c couldn't get the room cool. Finally, the road noise and the noise from the neighboring bar/grill were very loud - nothing some good windows couldn't fix. With all the above mentioned, we decided to check-out just hours later. Great location and nice staff

This location is spot on when you are wanting to visit the historical district in St. Augustine. You are right across from the bay front and a multitude or restaurants and museums. We ended up parking our car and walking everywhere. Parking is super tight, and they actually will direct you where to park in their lot. They pretty much have it down to a science, so I wouldn't recommend trying to park on your own. From what I recall, one car per room, so if you have friends staying in the room there is a lot across the street where you can park at the old fort. Our room was on the second floor and we didn't notice very much noise from either room, despite the hotel being booked solid. There was a dog barking at one point, but the owners kept the dog's barking to a minimum. The room itself is very bright and airy, when you open the curtains to let the light in. Each room on the outside has a bench where you can sit and watch people. The rooms are not large, this obviously being an older hotel. The floors are a laminate which is a bonus and appeared to be clean. The bed was comfortable enough, although the bed springs did make an odd squeaky sound if you sat down too hard on them. The bathroom is definitely old. You have a shower only and room for one. There is, however, plenty of space to lay out your essentials above the sink area. The room was expensive for what we received, however, considering the location and the hotel prices surrounding us, we were willing to spend the money to stay here. For us, it was worth it. Especially after a less than subpar visit to their sister Best Western on Castillo the night before. You can read my review on that location, I won't hash it out here. When it comes to breakfast in the morning's, I have no idea if one is offered or not. We weren't informed. My guess was there was not one. All in all, we will definitely be back and husband says that he wants to stay here again.

We had a great experience staying at this hotel and the location is within walking distance of most attractions. The staff checking us in and out were very cordial and helpful. Our room was lovely and had a great view of the bay. It was spacious and had been upgraded. The only problem we had was the noises and people talking when the leaving the bars around 1:30-2:30 a.m. That isn't anything that the hotel has control over. The parking is tight but is very convenient. I would give the location 5 stars but the bar/restaurant traffic dropped it to four.

The rooms are comfortable and the staff was extra helpful. The hotel is conveniently located in St. Augustine near the Lions Bridge and it overlooks the bay, just across the street from the Fort. Walking distance to everything I needed. I will definitely stay here again.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. This was a spur of the moment trip for me, last minute decision. The location is excellent for St Augustine, right across from the Fort, walk to restaurants, shops (and I mean walk next door for a great Martini, or more) Bus stop for the St Augustine circular bus to visit the other sites is right in front of the hotel. All in all, this is an excellent value.

Mattress was terrible, worn. There was rust in the area around the refrigerator and the room had a terrible smell but for the location we stayed put for the night. Enjoyed the area around the hotel, easy to walk around town.

It is an over priced motel. The room was clean, with the exception of the dust and the hair in the shower drain, but that is all I can say that is positive. They offer a free breakfast but it is awful and they don't even have fresh brewed coffee. No where to even sit when you have breakfast once you can get to the food.

Perfect location for walking around to enjoy everything St Augustine offers. Walk to all the restaurants and bars, the fort and waterfront. The nightlife downtown is loud and fun so don't expect to escape the sounds while in this hotel! Great spot for sure but not quiet

I was able to book a reservation at this property via my Best Western Rewards points. I had asked the reservationist to notate that it was for a 30th birthday getaway. Upon arrival my friend was wished a happy birthday! It was so nice, our room 232 was on the second floor (please note there are no elevators at this property) that was not an issue for us because we are abled bodied. What a beautiful view of the bay! Absolutely stunning - two queen size beds, mic and mini fridge in room. The location could not be beat for its proximity to the down town literally step onto the street. I had read the negative reviews in advance just to see what people had to say. Yes there is a 10 dollar per day plus tax parking fee. (People that is cheap! and going to be the case at any hotel in the area) Mildew odor in room- Our room was super clean and fresh, it had no odor. We were on the second floor though I can't speak of the 1st floor rooms which had been flooded in previous hurricanes (but so have most of the properties in the area) Noise- yes there is noise since it does back up to a popular area with bars and nightlife behind. - it seems that everything dies down pretty early. Worse case scenario bring some ear plugs, you WILL be fine. Overall it was a nice location, clean updated rooms, friendly staff and accommodations if you are in the area I would highly recommend.

We spent 1 night here but wish it could have been more. This hotel is conveniently located across the street from Castillo de San Marcos and very close to St George st where you can find eating, drinking & shopping. The hotel was clean & pet friendly ($40 pet fee). The only thing I would say thats lacking, is they don't offer breakfast but they do offer a to-go bag with an apple, pastry, & water. Free bottled water is located in the reception area. One of my favorite things about this hotel, is that the rooms don't have carpeting.

I frequently visit St.Augustine, but my friends and I wanted to enjoy the evening and stay in the historic city. The location is near many shops, restaurants and landmarks just a quick walk away. Parking is tight and there was an additional charge of 10.00, but we would pay that visiting for the day at the parking garage. Most rooms have a water view. Our room was clean and ready for us upon arrival. Bed was very firm, but I prefer a soft pillow top mattress. It's bearable for a weekend. Bathroom was recently renovated. No tub, just walk in shower. Toiletries provided included make up remover wipes too. A/C works, we had to turn it down because it was so cold.?? There is a vending machine that takes CC.nice to have after you have been walking around and just need a drink. Motel does provide 2 bottles of water free! There is a pool, hidden and has lounge chairs. I have stayed in this area before, but usually go for a B&B, but if you are just going for a quick weekend with girlfriends this is a good fit. Also, they are dog friendly.

On Jan 26, 2018, I checked in RM114, put luggage in the room and left for an engagement with friends. When I returned around 10:00 pm and went into the room, I could hear the really loud music. I called the front desk and asked them to have the music turned down. They informed me that loud music was coming from a bar located behind them. They said they couldn't do anything until 10:30 pm when a noise ordinance came into effect. I called the front desk at 11:30 when the loud music continued. My wife and I put cotton in our ears but we still could not sleep. I called the front desk, they were very belligerent saying they couldn't do anything about the noise. I was staying in a downtown hotel and I should expect the loud noise. At 1 AM my wife and I packed our belongings and left the motel to find a motel where we could get some sleep. I went to the front desk and told a person named Garrett that we were leaving and I would dispute the motel charge with MasterCard. Garrett was very ugly and threatened me with bodily harm. I called my bank and they said there was nothing I could to do get my money back. I then called Best Western's home office to see if they would refund my money. They said it was up to their location to make any refund. They had contacted the St Augustine location and they refused to refund my money. am 74 years of age and in poor health and do not appreciate this kind of shoddy treatment.

Face it, this is a decent but overpriced hotel. NO breakfast included and to say "tight parking" is being generous. The room was clean, nice Serta mattress but otherwise nothing special. You pay for the location and yes, it's almost perfect on that front. Right across from the intercoastal and walking distance to every main attraction (just a couple miles to the light house too) If you're someone who like to stay out late enjoying the restaurants, bars and clubs and want to avoid driving- it's well worth the price. Staff was very friendly and more than willing to help you negotiate the parking.

The Bed was Very hard and uncomfortable. So much do, that sleep wasnt good and I woke in pain. No breakfast service included for such a high price. The room was clean and the staff was very friendly and caring.

My husband and I stayed for two nights before our gulf vacation; the location is great, the staff is very accomadring,the rooms are clean but average: we did have an end room next to Meehans which was great for eats and drinks, did get a little loud late at night when we went to bed but to be expected it is St Augustine: only down side was smoke smell from our friendly neighbors made our room smell occasionally: maybe moving the smokeless ash trays to a different location would be nice

Booked a couple of rooms for a couple of nights here as part of a road trip round Florida and this is such a great location for St Augustine - park up and walk to all the central St.Augustine attractions. The rooms are a decent size (we had two double queen size bed-rooms) but the bathrooms are tiny and in one room, the toilet overflowed and wasn't fixed til the next day with a “don't flush it” recommendation... and in the other, a continually running cistern unless we intervened... the cleanliness wasn't a great standard, again, especially in the bathrooms. So a “3” mainly due to location or else it would have been “2”

Once you've parked your car the old city is right there as are great bars and restaurants. Ask for room 101 for a picture window looking directly out to the Matzanas river. Nice size room with a microwave and mini-refrigerator.

We experienced nice people at the desk and really nice accommodations. The room had a refrigerator, microwave, charging ports and coffee maker. It was in a great location wher3 we could walk everywhere. We were very pleased overall

Overpriced for the quality of the hotel, however, it was a Saturday night when we were there, so it was completely booked. I guess the price was justified based on the law of supply and demand. The location is excellent and easy to find. The parking is a bit of an issue but then again, at lease they have parking. They should have outside trash containers, as we did see trash left in the parking lot and on some of the benches.

Not sure where to begin. I booked two rooms for a cost of $500 for one night. The location is the best but beware. I would NEVER stay here again because management does NOT care in the least about customers. I mentioned my problems when checking out and again in a call to find out what a charge was about and all they could say was “I'm sorry”. If you still want to stay after this review, I strongly recommend staying in an upstairs room as there is NO sound proofing in these rooms at all. We had someone upstairs dragging furniture and bouncing something on the floor continually into the early hours of the morning. I have no idea what was going on and management did nothing about it. Because this motel (and it is a motel) is so close to the bars and restaurants, there was continual noise from the outside as if we were staying outside. Of course management can't control the way this place was built but this is a ridiculous place to stay unless you are hearing impaired. In the morning the breakfast mentioned on the website is a bag with fruit in it. We had breakfast next door and the place was tiny so very busy. The charge I called back about was for parking. $250 per night for a motel room and no free parking. I can't be certain but again, I did not remember seeing that when I booked. The following day was exhausting for me as I got little more than a couple of hours sleep. Horrible experience. I love St. Augustine but this is the worst place I have stayed at in this town. There are many better options for far less money. It is worth walking a little further.

Overpriced for the quality. Only perk was location to downtown. Rooms were super noisy, bathroom windows didn't seal close so it was cold. The bathroom was so tiny and tight. Also doesn't offer breakfast which I thought should be included considering the price we paid

the hotel is in the middle of everything in the historic district, park your vehicle and you can walk everywhere, from restaurants, shops, museums, and extractions. hotel is nice and clean and the stall is friendly.

Great hotel and good price for the location. Easy walking distance to St George Street where all the great restaurants are located. Had a great dinner at the Columbia restaurant. Staff at the hotel was great and very friendly.

Had a 2 night stay. Good hotel in a great location. Rooms clean and comfortable. Ample parking space. Ideal hotel for a short break. No breakfast but free hot drinks machine and a grab and go bag. (Water an Apple and Danish pastry)

Hotel states on website 100% non smoking hotel. Yet they have butt cans out side the rooms on balcony. My room smelled of smoke which caused me problems with my asthma. I had also requested a 1st floor room when I registered online. I can not recommend.

We stayed here one night to attend a wedding that was a few blocks away. The location was great ... close to everything and didn't worry about trying to find a parking spot. Front desk was very friendly and offered to provide any directions/support as needed. The room was very clean and I think most rooms have a view of the bay. The tram stops directly in front of the hotel, which is convenient for getting around. The only negative was the bathroom. It was so tiny you could barely move. The shower was also very shaky ... sounds strange I know but when you were showering, the floor was not solid and moved constantly. I would stay here again and would recommend it.

Stay during Xmas season was absolutely gorgeous. Temperatures was fabulous but crowds on Saturday were crowded. The town has so many things to do you can't do it all in one weekend. This is our second trip to St Augustine at Best Western and will be back

We travel to St Augustine 2- 3 times a year. We started staying when it was called the Monterey Inn and since Best Western took over it was nice to see improvements and updates. for the money you can not beat this place. We love to travel with our small dogs and they are great with the arrangements. You can always pay more for nicer places and I know from experiences there are a lot of bad places. It's a 5 star for us

This place has great location, but rooms are very basic and cheap looking inside (hotel is not cheap). Stuff was very nice. Parking is available, but very tight. No breakfast, but "bags to go". Good free coffee in the lobby.

My family and I visit St. Augustine every year for a mini vacation. This year we chose the Best Western Bayfront. Sadly, our stay was ruined by the disgusting floors and horribly thin walls in the room. Given the location we expected to hear noise from the adjoining alley and restaurants; however, the noise we actually experienced was generated from the neighboring rooms which were partying and very loud. The doors have been designed so they close automatically and always slam which is very loud when you're sleeping. As for the floors, they were visibly dirty when we entered the room, but a quick view of socks or the soles of your feet confirmed how bad they really were. We were disgusted but had no choice since everyone else was booked up in the area. Lastly, for anyone who is not slim or slender, good luck in the bathroom. The toilet and shower are in the same room and it is a very tight fit in there. My 11 year old twins even struggled to close the door. I will say that the staff were great and the view was very nice, but that was about all that appealed there!

It's small but very pretty, the rooms have beautiful brick along one wall and laminate wood floors. Can't beat the central location. Bathrooms are a little small but acceptable and clean. It got a little loud at night with the bars behind the hotel playing music till after midnight. Only an issue if you are very sensitive or have small kids.

Close to waterfront marina, old fort and walking distance to old St. Augustine area and restaurants. No restaurant in Hotel; walk up to second level. Small rooms but adequate for short stay. parking available which is hard to find in this area. Walk to everything.

Good points about this place is it's perfect location affording a pleasant walk to the entire historic district. The pretty front desk clerk Julia was very nice and helpful with local points of interests. With that said this was the worst Best Western we've ever stayed at. The bathroom door would not shut unless it was slammed hard. The sink wouldn't drain and there was a very sour smell in the room which we never could pin point. Also, we could hear the TV blaring in the room next door. But the bar behind the motel was a nightmare. It kept us awake until way past midnight and unfortunately we had to leave early the next morning for a long trip. The blaring music and boisterous crowd was unbearable. We visit St.Augustine twice a year and we will certainly avoid this motel in the future.

My family and I just stayed at the BW Bayfront Inn and really liked the recent hotel renovations. The hotel staff is very nice, they brought a complimentary crib to our room, the overnight parking rate is very reasonable, they offer complimentary morning coffee & bistro bags in the lobby, the Bayfront Inn location is within walking distance to just about everything and the Old Town Trolley makes a stop right in front of the hotel...I stay at this hotel every time I visit St. Augustine!

Was a poor display to bring tourist dollars to St Augustine, The hotel rates in the area sky rocketed. The lights where fair at best. Food in the area is good at Schooners and the Spot, downtown nothing worth the price.

We have stayed here two times. Each time our room, the lobby and the outside premises have been clean. The people are friendly and knowledgeable about the area's activities. We will definitely stay here again next year.

We always stay at this motel whenever we visit St Augustine, which is about once a year. The location is great and the motel itself is nice and has been recently upgraded. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Parking is scarce, but they always seem to find room for all of their customers' cars on-site. Bathrooms are tiny, with plenty of towels provided (but no place to hang them!). Grab-n-go bags are a new feature this year, and a nice touch. Inside each bag is a bottle of water, a prepackaged Danish pastry, and an apple.

My husband and I have visited St Augustine many times during the past 40 years. Such a quaint European feel and it offers so much to so many. BW St Augustine"s location is perfect! Bayfront view and in the middle of all the restaurants, bars, ice cream shops, coffee shops. Everything is walkable, but when you must escape, the BW is configured in a U-shape which creates a little oasis with just you and the bay. There is a lovely deck to relax and enjoy views of the sailboats. Rooms are updated and immaculate. A little small but cozy! Large picture window and nice little black benches right outside each room. Hotel was decked out for Nights of Lights so very romantic. Our 13 yr old min-pin was welcome which was a huge bonus!!! We rented a dog stroller in Faux Paws right around the corner, so he enjoyed the beauty of this charming town. Old town NEVER gets old!!!!

Hotel had a bad musty odor probably from hurricaine flooding but not sure they did anything to rectify. Staff greeted me dishoveld and grinning as if caught doing something they knew they shouldn't have been doing on company time. This was approximately 7:30pm. Did not get the room requested when called to make reservation. Told I could have a similar one for a much higher price at check in.

The location of this motel was excellent. Our room was nice and very clean. We were fortunate to have a 1st floor room so the fact that there was no elevator did not concern us. Very small bathroom but clean and generous with towels etc. The staff was very nice and helpful. Parking is at a premium but we were able to park right in front of our door. Our room was very quite and no problems with noise.

Nice room with fridge, microwave, etc. One of the nicest places to stash in St. Augustine. Great view of the Bay with a second floor roofed sitting area. Free coffee and bottled water all day. Does not serve breakfast.

We spent a long weekend before Halloween at the Best Western Bayside. The location was perfect for getting around the old part of town. The old fort was across the street, we had a wonderful view from the upstairs porch and it was very close to the action. The bed was wonderful and very peaceful. We slept very soundly and secure. Definitely the best hotel for the area. It will be our place to stay on the next trip there.

No elevator for second story rooms, bad if luggage is heavy to carry. No response to guest injury. Rooms clean, close to waterfront, close to excellent restaurants, and if ice cream is a favorite, close to a great ice cream shop.

I booked a room here for 2 nights, very excited because of the location in the city. I needed to push back my trip by one day, and they would not work with me on it at all. It was not a busy time of year, and I inquired as to if they were fully booked. They were not. They would not reschedule, and they would not refund my deposit, and in fact charged me the full amount. We did not end up staying there, and because of this issue will not in the future. Be weary they just want your money.

We were visiting our daughter and she suggested to us to go the St. Augustine. We enjoyed the visit very much. Especially the carriage ride around town. !! Very informative.! The hotel we stayed at was on the bay and very nice. Close to the sites and restaurants!!

Only reason it didn't get a 5 start rating from me is that the rooms are very tiny. We were just 2 people in a king room and there was very little walking space and the bathroom was so small. HOWEVER, it was clean and the location is great. Short walk to everything in the Downtown area, including the fort. Would highly recommend. I will stay here every time I visit.

Delightful! My gratitude goes to the attention that was paid to every detail. While the room was small, it was still thoughtfully packed with every amenity. Everything was new and working. The decor was updated and fresh. The room was very clean. The bed felt brand new. It was wonderful to find no carpet (all hotels should remove their carpet.) And of course, the perfect location. We will definitely be back!

The location was fantastic. The exterior appearance excellent. We loved the second floor porch overlooking the water. Problems: 1st floor room was musty, couldn't use the closet, the floor was dirty, towels were not replaced that were put on the floor and were not informed that there would be loud music directly behind our room that kept me awake until 2am! We are in our 70's and retire for the evening at 11pm. My husband takes his hearing aids out and cannot hear anything including a ringing telephone or smoke alarm! Lucky him .... The loud music and disgusting language (yes could even hear their loud, yelling voices from the bathroom,

From the moment we arrived until we left the service was exceptional, handy to everything, could not fault. Staff went out of way to assist with every enquiry, great place and awesome view from deck. Will be back again

My wife and I were married in St. Augustine and decided to take an overnight trip for our 11th anniversary. We wanted to stay on Saturday night in close proximity to bars/restaurants. Hotels in this area are drastically more expensive on Saturday night not unlike most areas. After looking at a few other hotels in the area that would likely have been a bit nicer we decided to try out the Bayfront as we didn't expect to be in the room very much and the room was about $100/night cheaper. Hotels in an area like this are a bit tricky to review because you can't compare the hotels to your previous experiences due to the age of the buildings in this area and the difficulty these hotels have modernizing these buildings. We've stayed a couple places in St. Augustine and all have similar challenges. This hotel is a motel so the room doors face the outside. With that said, the area doesn't feel dangerous so having the door on the outside didn't seem to be an issue for us. Parking is a little odd but seemed to work. There aren't enough spots for all the rooms so they park cars in the middle behind one another. There is a hotel employee who was helpful indicating where to park, etc. This may get a bit more difficult in more busy times of the year as it didn't seem crazy busy this weekend. The room is a little small which is expected in historic St. Augustine but has everything you need. There is a small closet to hold some hung clothes and 3 medium sized drawers to hold clothes. This wasn't an issue for our small trip but may be a little more of an issue if someone who stays longer and doesn't want to live out of luggage. The smallness is really only a problem for a couple in the bathroom area. The bathroom is basically a half bath size with a tacked on shower. The shower is smaller than a cruise ship shower but did it's job for what we needed. An iron and hair dryer are provided for convenience. Location of this motel is great. It's a short < 5 min walk to the main areas of historic St. Augustine like St. George street. This made going out for dinner and shopping the next day so much easier as you don't have to try to find parking for the day/night. We didn't have any issues but the staff was always friendly when dealing with them. They also allowed us to leave our car on our check-out day so we can do some last minute shopping. Overall, I'd recommend using this motel if you are just looking for a good home base while enjoying it's great location to check out sites/shops/restaurants and bars in the area. If you need a more romantic setting for your trip then I'd probably spend the extra money on some of the other hotels in the area which have a better ambiance.

We stayed there in September. I read many reviews and we decided to give it a try. The location is amazing the views beautiful you can walk to almost everything and are right in the historic district. The room is a little older but has some updates and very clean which is very important to me. My only complaint is the pillows were so hard and mattress wasn't the most comfortable. But the breakfast is amazing. Not like your typical hotel breakfast. And the staff is very friendly. We liked it so much we are going back the end of November and we are bringing a bunch of our friends. So that says a lot.

Let me start by saying this was an impromptu short birthday get away trip. A trip that my boyfriend,and myself both forgot to check the weather prior to taking off. The amazing customer service from Arryne & the specific room we were given made all the difference in the world! Our room was bayview, with the large outside covered lounge/smoking area just outside of our room! Nice clean room, comfy bed, and again customer service that you can't beat! We will be returning in the near future!

Stopped in for 1 night on the way to Miami but as always it was another great stay at a wonderful property. Right after Hurricane Irma and a lot of the surrounding shops were closed but this is truly a great place to stay if coming to St. Augustine
