SureStay Plus by Best Western Grand Island

This SureStay Plus Best Western is the economy version and right next door to the other Best Western. Not as nice of a hotel however was clean. Seemed to be a little musty smell when we first arrived however wasn't overwhelming and got used to it. The bathroom was clean and the bed comfortable. I paid $20 more thinking because of the brand this might be a little better however can't tell much difference between this and Super 8 which I have stayed in here before. Indoor pool looked nice however didn't use that. The breakfast was normal except instead of waffles there was a fresh pancake maker. The cheese omelets were not very tasty. Tasted like a cheap velveeta substitute cheese. No complaints about the stay however I believe we could have stayed at the same quality motel for cheaper price.

Room was clean and staff were nice however the smoke alarm was wrapped in plastic on the wall. Sent message to contact info on business card from front desk they informed us we stayed in a different motel.

Front desk clerk insisted I leave my entire license plate number. I already provided make, model and county (Neb plate). When I said really? You think you have another person from my county here? (I live in a very remote park of the state), she told me I could stay somewhere else. I told her I would next time. The only locally plated car in the parking lot was taking up 2 parking spaces right in front. Pretty sure it was the clerk's car. Professional appearance must not be a priority here based on her outfit, nose ring, tattoos and hair color. Funny smudges on bedspread. Pretty sure there is a drop of blood under the sink.

We were pleasantly surprised by this hotel. This is an older property, so we didn't know what to expect. The front desk staff was so very kind and helpful. Our room was clean, quiet, and comfortable. We had an excellent night's sleep. The location is quick to just about anything you need...including getting back on the interstate. There are numerous places to eat and shop nearby. We drive through here numerous times a year. We will look to stay here again.

I was lucky to find a room for a decent price, since I unknowingly planned my visit to Grand Island during the week of Husker Harvest Days, a huge farm show that apparently draws many out of town visitors. The staff at SureStay Plus were friendly and helpful, and the room was quiet and clean. I was happy to find that although I had booked a room with a single queen bed, I actually got a room with two beds. I only made it down to breakfast one day, but it was filling and tasty. Pretty standard hot buffet bar, but that was fine. My only issues with this property are 1) the pool, and 2) the lack of an elevator. The pool looked nice and clean, but the whole area just felt weird to me. Right in the middle of an atrium with bright fluorescent lighting around which all the rooms were, so if you were swimming, EVERYONE would be looking at you. Also, there were no lounge chairs or indeed chairs of any kind around the pool, so not too great if parents just want to lounge and watch their kids swim.

We had a one night stay on our way to Estes Park Colorado. Check in was easy. I had mistakenly booked a room with 1 queen bed instead of 2, which was easy to change at check in. The rooms were clean and comfortable. Breakfast was tasty and filling. Definitely would stay again.

Friendly, efficient check-in. Room pretty small, but clean and comfortable. There was one easy chair. The sink counter had very little surface area. Room was around atrium-style center with large swimming pool on first level. Happy noise of children swimming could be heard, but it was quiet in evening and night. Perfectly decent newer property. The breakfast mini-buffet had outstanding selection and was very satisfying. Not sure of comparison to parent Best Western next door, but price seemed a bit high for comparables. Would stay again.

Great value as we passed through Grand Island area, on our way west. Family and pet friendly made it the right destination in Grand Island. Close to food, gas and entertainment. Easy off and back on the Interstate. We would definitely stay here again.

Way too small to move around. Our grandkids were to big for the shower. Bathroom door could not close if you are on the bathroom since there is not enough room to turn around.

The hotel was clean and quiet, staff people were pleasant, and the cost was reasonable. This was my first time at a SureStay Plus, and as would be expected, it is a step down from Best Western Plus facilities - thinner walls, lower cost food items, etc. This said, the bed was comfortable, and breakfast was adequate. The room would benefit from small end tables on both sides of the bed. It was a challenge to reach the outlet that was behind the bed frame from the side without an end table. Additionally, I would prefer internet that is password protected, although it probably makes it only nominally more secure. There were few guests the night of our stay (not Crane season), and my guess is that the hotel would have been considerably noisier if it were closer to capacity. But, I would definitely consider it for another one night stay while traveling, especially during off-season.

We had a nice little weekend get away. Enjoyed excellent customer service, friendly staff, very clean and comfortable. The breakfast was great!…Good, hot and many choices. We will definitely stay here again in Grand Island, NE

Always helpful and accommodating staff, welcoming and friendly, I know there are cheaper places in Grand Island but I really like these folks. The pool is always clean as is the breakfast nook. Truck parking is available to capable drivers.

This place has always been an old stable for me when in town. Desk help and Bonnie the Manager are great. Had huge suite last time. It was great for the dog and I. Wish it was still a Super 8 so i could use my Wyndham points! Will stay again.

From the exterior of the hotel, it appears to be a former Super 8 motel in architecture, which can also be seen in the hallways of the hotel. However, the guest rooms (at least the one I had) appeared to have been recently remodeled, you could still smell the new carpet. The desk clerk at both check-in as well as check out was knowledgeable and friendly, she even claimed to have given me an upgraded room. The property is several miles closer to town, and not directly off I-80. They have a well-stocked continental breakfast. The biggest concern is it took 2 1/2 months for the airline miles for this stay to post to my account.

I got charged for May 19 and May 20 , two different charges plus the day I made the reservation. The charge for May 20 was taken off but not for the day I made the reservations. So I ended up paying $206.56 for one night. Way too much money for this hotel. They are not easy to work with when they clearly made the mistake.

We were very pleased with this hotel and I'm picky! It's clean, affordable, staff is friendly and helpful, and the take pets for a reasonable $15 fee. Pool was clean, warm, well stocked with towels and the kids loved it. HOWEVER, be sure to ask for a hallway room away from the street. Otherwise, you might get a room right next to the pool and the pool is open to the front part of the hotel. We had kids yelling right outside our door from 8:45-10. A very busy Road was right outside our window and cars were revving, sirens blaring, trucks honking all night long. Ultimately it's not the fault of the hotel, it's how it's built but highly suggest asking for a room in the back of the building away from the pool and street. I will say we asked to move and the hotel staff was super helpful and friendly and very willing to accommodate a move. I was impressed. I ended up being too lazy to pack a move so do you self a favor and get the right room from the start!

This is an absolute gem compared to other Super 8s I've used. Rooms are spacious, super clean, well-equipped. Pool is a beauty and grounds are well tended. Staff is helpful and agreeable. Second best of all is the biscuits and gravy breakfast. Best is the pet policy. If it wasn't genuinely "friendly," we wouldn't stay there.

I really like this place. I have stayed here 3 times now for over a week each time. Rooms are cozy and clean. Very nice people. They have all the amenities you would want, including a decent hot breakfast. I feel safe here.

I had stayed here frequently in the past but stopped because of the manager! Was pleasantly surprised by the new one. This is an average Super 8 but not full of workers like some. Room was clean and quite. Pet friendly! I even used the pool. Close to most stuff. Marvin my Corgi felt at home. look forward to returning!
