I would rate this hotel a zero if possible. Upon arriving in October, we checked in and went to our first room, only to find that it smelled like marijuana and possibly urine. I called the front desk, and a young man came to our room to verify our concerns. After inspecting the situation, he moved us to another room. Upon opening the door to the second room, I noticed it did not smell clean. The bathroom towels were dirty, and the bed coverings and pillows had an unpleasant body odor. While I was assessing the room, a maid passed by, knocked on the door, and entered the bathroom without responding to me; it seemed she did not understand English, as she walked in and out without acknowledging my presence. After discovering additional cleanliness issues, I decided to leave the hotel. I went to the front desk and explained the situation. The manager and front desk staff informed me that they would need a few days to refund my tax and points. We left the hotel and checked into a nearby one. I waited a week and checked my account, noticing that my cash had been refunded; however, my points had not. I called the hotel and was given an email address to request the return of my points. I wrote the email but did not receive a response. I then called customer service, who advised me to follow up with another email, which I did. This time, I was told that I had stayed at the hotel. I explained that I had not and that I had proof of my checkout. They have since ignored my emails and calls. The online reviews, complete with pictures of the hotel, tell the whole story. The elevator was disgusting, and the overall property was in poor condition. Their customer service skills are lacking, and I am disappointed in the way upper management has handled this issue. I gave the hotel a chance, as I have never had such a negative experience with a SureStay before. I regret making the reservation after reading the reviews. My advice…..Don't stay at this hotel.
If you are staying here for a resort experience, go somewhere else. But if you just want a safe, clean place to crash as you go somewhere else, this is a great location and value. I travel to the Buena Park area every few months or so, and I will return here in the future. Don't listen to these other reviewers. The place is clean safe and well-located all for $100 bucks a night
No the pillows are too small not enough for 2 extra 2 more better Very uncomfortable we always bring extra pillows for us. The helper and staff are not that.friendly. .Looks tired and overwhelmed. We have been there more than 5 times already we always bring extra towel extra pillows and soap and shampoo. They hardly refill the ones on their wall.
We truly enjoyed the extensive breakfast buffet!!! Pancakes, eggs, frenck toast, bacon, coffee, juices, hash browns, omlettes, muffins, yogurt, fresh baked breads. Just kidding. It was pathetic. We ended up going down the street to Denny's
This was our first experience with Sure Stay hotels and this one was inferior to the Best Western Hotels where we've stayed before. The room was clean but rather bare. There were no washcloths or extas towels in the bathroom. We requested extra towels from the front desk but they never brought them. There was no sugar or creamer for the coffee maker and no luggage stand. The breakfast was meager; just cold cereal, milk, juice, mini-muffins, toast and some nasty pre-packaged hard-boilled eggs. no napkins, and no one around to ask. We requested a call from the manager who wasn't there when we checked out, but never heard from her.
We checked in at 3PM and something I did not expect was a $100 deposit that I have not paid at other Best Western's before but whatever. I thought the security glass window across the front counter like in a bank with a small slide slot under the window was funny as the window is just thin single pane glass so just about anything will break it. We quickly left our items as we had a meeting to go to. We returned around 10PM or so. There was no luggage holder or place to put the suitcase except for the desk or floor. The TV did not work well as the images were constantly breaking up so turned it off and watched programs on my laptop. We were missing one washcloth so my wife & I shared one. There was no body soap in the shower so we used the small hand soap bar. No alarm clock in the room. No bed side lamps, just two very bright ceiling airport landing lights directly above the bed. Off with those. Because it was late we did not call the front desk and made do as we were tired. We did notify the front desk upon checkout and the lady said she would have someone check it out but I doubt any notes were taken. No other comment from her like sorry or tough luck. I asked for a receipt on checkout and this took about 8 minutes which was longer than I expected. The breakfast was coffee and what looked like cereal. I have stayed many Best Western Hotels in the past and their breakfasts have been okay. This hotel is the exception. In my opinion they would be better off if they did not offer breakfast. We went somewhere else to eat. Not the experience we usually have at a Best Western. In the future back to Best Western Surf City on Beach Blvd.
The rooms are modern and big. The bed was firm. The hotel is next to fairfield and hilton so safe area. The spa is hot and bubbly. The breakfast lacks protein so bring your beef jerky. The tv channels are limited if your looking for many choices. We stayed top floor. Very nice hotel and cooler was nice and cold.
There was no label to hang on the door handle, so I asked the guy at reception this & asked for them to make up the room. When we got back to the hotel the room was not done but they had been in to empty the bin but nothing else. Beds weren't made up bathroom was not done no coffee refills. The sheets had stains on them that we didn't notice until checkout & there were holes in the blankets. I told them all about this on checkout & all he did was shurg his sholders not intersted & they were so slow. We would never stay, or recommend this hotel. A very bad example of a Best Western hotel over the last 3 weeks we have stayed in 6 Best Western hotels & no problems at all.
Bed was dirty. Human hair ( not mine). The toilet had hair in it . The hot water in the room took forever to get hot. I was not expecting to have to have a deposit when I registered. They kept declining my perfectly fine credit card. I ended up having to pay with my debt card. Which I did not plan on.
Pillows were very flat, they came to replace towels was nice but they didn't give out the so not disturb signs and would have appreciated that option . No soap , empty containers . The room smelled musty or like old smoke , the sink was stopped up and then once water drained it smelled . I told the office lady she just said thank you but was never fixed . My room key never worked I had to go to the office each of my 3 night stay which was annoying after a long day at the parks you just want to get into your room but now have to make an extra trip to the office because your key won't work . They have no guest quiet time posted and the family above me has their kids running and jumping all night until past midnight and had to call the front desk 2 times to make them stop so I could sleep . The lady working is not friendly at all . I only stay cuz it's cheaper than most but quality is horrible beds squeak cheap or old bed frames .
Parking was adequate and well lit at night. Hotel was in a good location. However, the breakfast choices were minimal. I guess it was truly a "continental breakfast". I have stayed many Best Western Hotels in the past. Their breakfasts have been great. This hotel was the exception! They would have been better off if they did not offer breakfast! The room was clean. We requested a handicap accessible room. The bathroom was roomy and easy to get around in. However, there were no counter tops that we could put our toiletries on.
I wasn't Valued as an elite member and was charged a $100 deposit that I've never paid at any other BW before. The continental breakfast was a joke and too early. I was so embarrassed that I woke my mother up to come down to nothing but cereal and old dry mini muffins. I guess you get what you pay for cause the price was extremely affordable.
Please do not support this hotel. I wish I read the reviews before I booked my stay. I can't even put in words what a horrible place this is. Let's just say the rooms are dirty, staff is unfriendly, and our bed was broken worst of all no one was willing to hear me and the manager avoided me. The staff constantly told me the manager was not in. Please do not support this hotel. That's the only way to make change.
The swimming pool and jacuzzi was awesome. It was nice and warm. The staff was always friendly and courteous. I would recommend this hotel, it was nice to stay at and in the middle of everything, Knottsberry farm, beaches, and Universal Studios.
This hotel at a good price is recently completely renovated. Location is great and offer the free breakfast. Parking is also sufficient. Staff is cooperative and helpful. I met with Yesh and he helped me with my trip for Hollywood.
DO NOT STAY HERE. Paid for a handicap accessible room over a week before. when I get there sorry NO room. after driving 5 hours to the hotel. they gave me a regular room. it was NOT handicap accessible bathroom. I am 100% handicap on a scooter. could not use the bathroom or the sink. tried to talk to the manager or supervisor, No not here, we will let them know. after a very bad stay tried to call the manager never there. GO TO A DIFFERENT HOTEL, BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE & ROOM
Hotel has been remodeled in the last few years. No soft table lighting for quiet evenings watching TV only can lights at full power either on or off. The usual continental breakfast fare, fruit, hot cereal, cold cereal, frozen waffles, toast, small pastries, coffee, 2 kinds of juice, milk. At least that is what should be there. During our 6 day stay they ran out of fruit and milk. For 2 of our 6 night stay they didn't clean our room so we had to go to the office to get clean towels when we returned. The last night we returned to find our bed made but no top sheet. Just bottom sheet, blanket and bedspread. Also 2 of those nights one of our neighbors was smoking pot and stunk up our room. The bed was at least comfortable and the hotel was pretty quiet at night. Not the best hotel we have stayed at but also not the worst either. The location suited our needs well.
The food is cheap if not expired. The staff there is lazy, they do not help. They stand there and watch you struggle to carry your breakfast back to your room doing nothing but talking to each other in their language while they stare at you. There were no blankets on the beds. The filters in the air conditioner were completely caked on with dust that hadn't been cleaned off and God knows how long. When we ask for a late checkout they gave us an extra 15 minutes. But after we did that they started harassing us by coming and knocking on our door to ask us if a truck that they knew was not ours is ours. Then they stood in front of our apartment and talked in their language. It wasn't even check out time yet. The phone was disconnected in the room couldn't call the office. This Best Western is I'm guessing owned and ran by Indians. So now that should say it all.
Don't stay on first floor and make sure they clean the floors. Nice area just more like motel 6 not best western at all. Sizzler is across the street and dennys and target on the corner. Just not my kind of room.
This is a motel. Let's be clear. The room and all amenities were clean, functional and adequate for the price point and distance to nearby parks. They offer continental breakfast in the check-in lobby, options included cereal with milk, instant oatmeal (microwave available), coffee, bread (toaster available) and muffin/pastry choices. There is a small pool and free (limited) parking. Food options nearby. Front desk staff were friendly, respectful and helpful. Cable TV and WiFi. As far as comfortability, the room left much to be desired if you've got any ounce of bougie-ness about you. Had to adjust my expectations to “motel”. However, everything was clean and adequate. Decent experience.
check in clerk would not let me use cash or my credit card for incidental, the hotel charged my card way before arrival WITHOUT informing me, the hotel room was run down looked like a purple trash bag was on the box spring on the bed. breakfast was horrible. i barely slept due to how sketchy and unclean the place felt. I am a best western employee and was definitely disappointed in this hotel and will NEVER return.
Overall happy with my stay, especially for the low price I paid. Staff were very friendly and helpful, including quickly getting me a new towel and replacing the soap dispenser. Room seemed updated and clean. There were only a few breakfast options (toast, cereal, and waffles that could be heated up in the toaster were the main options) but definitely better than no breakfast. The pool was open but was very very cold and the hot tub was out of order. Parking area was clean and the hotel grounds seemed well maintained. Biggest plus - the internet speed was super fast, probably the fastest internet speed I've seen at a budget hotel.
This was an excellent value. Great customer service at check-in, and when we requested more towels they were brought promptly. The room appeared recently renovated, attractive, comfortable and clean. There was a small fridge in the room which is always a plus. And a breakfast with a wide assortment, including cereal, oatmeal, muffins and juices, served from 7-9am.
Hello, Very basic "Motel", service and rooms are like Motel 6 without the smoke smell. Outside the property seems clean, hot tub was not working and still not working. Rooms seem clean but once you look around you start to see they cut corners. The curtains in my room were filthy from previous guest. Staff seem not to care and or well trained.
Simple with no frills. Clean room with a comfortable bed. Good location right next to a Hilton which I'm sure is triple the price. Close to main highways and Target, gas stations, and Wendy's. The only downside I can find is the furniture needs updating. If you are just looking for a comfortable clean room at an affordable price, this would work well.
There was graffiti on the walls in room and bathroom. Floors were filthy and had stains. Furniture was old and broken. Shower products were empty. Towels were dirty. Only received one wash cloth. Reserved a king room but received a queen. Box spring was covered in ripped plastic. The pictures on the website look nothing like how the room actually looks. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone, in fact I would go out of my way to warn people.
Came back from an outing to find stranger's clothes on our bed and was told it was not their problem. No towels and after we got them 24 hrs later they were stained and had holes. The breakfast was minimal and had no coffee. Staff were rude and did not care about the customers
Unprofessional workers , they lack training and customer service. The overall experience was horrible, due to the uneasy feeling I had to wake up and check on my vehicle to make sure it was not vandalized by its own workers, they will also try to get an xtra buck from you making up bogus stories
I stay at a lot of best westerns and this one was terrible The sheets had holes in them. There was one thin blanket and a sheet over it. No comforter or any thing. The towels were terrible. After my room being cleaned it was still gross. Never replaced the coffee in the room.
SureStay Hotel Buena Park exceeded our expectations! The staff was warm and welcoming, the rooms were impeccably clean, and the breakfast was delicious. We couldn't have asked for a better experience.
Customer service is horrible, they put breakfast like there 3 people in the hotel , housekeeping took my personal towels while we were out talked to the receptionist and told me sorry horrible time, service
You get what you pay for. There wasn't much furniture in the room (no nightstand), no phone, and two filthy desk chairs to sit on other than the bed. Couldn't get extra towels, had to swap out. Plus: refrigerator in room, elevator, close to destination, and cheap.
Looks like they just updated their rooms it had a different nice vibe. Enjoyed the modern look, bathroom was nice and clean since that is the most important part of a hotel room for me l. Breakfast was decent more of a continental style.
Check in was fine. Room needed a good cleaning. TV box was broken. AC needed a trick to turn on. Towels were threadbare & our request for privacy was not respected. When issues were reported, it took over 12 hours to receive a resolution. Just a disappointing stay and far less than what is expected of a Best Western brand.
Quiet and clean the staff were nice all the time, breakfast good and fresh, the location is really good and no problems with the parking, big parking lot and made me comfortable having enough lighting around
Manager did not even attempt to be helpful or try to resolve problems. Room was dirty. The floor had stains and a smear. The counter under TV also had stains. The chair by the we window and air-conditioning had many stains. When dirt issues were mentioned he went into room looked and walked back out. Nothing.
The room smelled all weed. It's horrible. They have free breakfast. They made the bed every day, but didn't clean bathroom. AC looks gross. The only plus point is that the hotel is only 15 mins away from Disney. Definitely not come back.
Please read our story before you decide to make a reservation with this Hotel. I would say DO NOT MAKE IT! We made a reservation through 3rd party. which was prepaid. Once we arrived at the hotel, the front desk had a hard time to check us in, due to their computer issues. She called her manager by speaking different language which I couldn't understand. She told me to pay separately until it gets resolved. Once I saw the rate that was way over the actual reservation we made, I refused to sign and contacted the 3rd party. After a while her manager walked in as she was just woke up, very unprofessionally with an awful personality and an attitude stated that we don't know the 3rd party, you have to pay us. I politely stated that then we don't have to stay here if she doesn't honor the rate of our actual reservation. Again, with a very unprofessional attitude she stated then if you don't I will charge you. Not only that she rejected our initial prepaid reservation she charged us without our consent. VERY UNETHICAL! Now it's on a dispute, complain through FCC and a law suit if she doesn't refund us. You decide if you like to go through the same situation we have gone…..
Very cute hotel with everything you need and a nice outdoor pool! My fiance and I stayed at this location. We just needed a little hotel nearby to sleep at for a few days. The rooms were very clean and spacious, the complimentary breakfast was surprisingly delicious and the outdoor pool was a pleasant surprise
Surestay Inn Buena Park provided a relaxing retreat during my visit to the area. The peaceful ambiance and comfortable accommodations allowed me to unwind and recharge after a busy day. The hotel's location, away from the hustle and bustle, added to the tranquility of the stay. I highly recommend this hotel for those seeking a peaceful and rejuvenating experience.
Extremely dissatisfied. Front desk who checked me in was very unpleasant. Had to use my cell phones to complain about the noise above me that kept me awake all night. There was no phone in the room and didn't Was not offered to move to another room or move the guest above me. Due to this, I decided to check out early since I wasn't able to relax, The room did not have lamps on the night stands. Unfortunately, this maybe an isolated case but I will not use this location again. Very unpleasant experience for an overnight stay.
While the staff was friendly and attentive, the accommodations and services were on the skimpy side. The room was clean however, the furnishings were sparse, a bed, a dresser, a table/desk, but no chair and two side tables. If you wanted to sit in your room, you would have to sit on your bed. The continental breakfast was spartan… Frozen waffles, white bread for toast, bite-size, muffins, and small, red, delicious apples, they did not have coffee cups, and they had to use plastic water cups. They did have Cheerios as their cereal. Again, knowing this upfront and the price of the room per night, I might stay there again.
room looks nuthing like pics on b w site new remodel bathroom un finished got handi cap room towels soap in shower no place for soap or my shave kit no mirror anywhere in room no bath mat no kleenex no microwave /refigerator no carpet no place to put my luggage furn old warn out dusty. got RIPPED OFF on room would gave got a similar room at MOTEL 6 at a better rate
Terrible, the worst hotel we have ever stay. very disappointed with best western, can't believe BW allow this hotel to ruin its reputation, The hotel should be shut down. My family was there on Dec 25, 2022, we were supposed to stay 7 days, but on the first day there a lot of problems happened already, end up we stay only 2 days, not just because the front counter people were very rude, and continuously make mistake and lying when the first-day check-in, I paid full 7 days to stay with cash but they also charged me duplicated cost on my VISA. because the services and environment is very bad, I do not want my two daughter suffering, so we have mentioned to them on the first day that we do not want to stay anymore, one of the staff was agreed to return part of my money, but on the second the manager was totally denied what staff saying, and refuses to return us any money included duplicated charge on my VISA total around $2000 USD, I was trying to call police 911, also they been mentioned the reason they couldn't refund any money because Expedia does not allow them to do so, and Expedia charge them a big penalty 20% of my total 7 days stay cost, but we have calling Expedia confirmed that Expedia has never saying could not do the refund, and they do not charge any penalty, thanks Expedia to protected traveller's right, so the hotel was lying, while our staying we see another two groups of customer were complain their services, they have been ruined my family's Christmas vacation, I felt sorry for a lot of people has same problems with them also do not recommend anyone to stay with this hotel at all.
Roaches in room and lobby No breakfast except cereal and warm milk Broken bathroom door/no working vent Extra charges to back account Horrible customer service General Manager did not offer any compensation and refused to acknowledge that an extra $110 had been charged to my card, charged my card two days after check out!!
Worst hotel ever please do not stay at this hotel pay a little more for a better hotel the beds are old mattresses are horrible the springs kept popping every time I turn I had to call the 1 800 so they could put us at a different hotel worst experience EVER
I was traveling with my 3 kids, mom and boyfriend. The rooms were definitely not ready to be booked for anyone. Furniture was half way built, weird odor to the rooms, no fridge or ice machine on location for kids milk . No vending machines available. Overall the location seemed very sketch. I immediately regretted booking this but we had been traveling all day. We slept for 4-5hrs and left.
We have stayed at this facility many times before. But since construction started, it seems to have gone downhill. This location works for us because of the suite. It has 2 separate bedrooms with 3 beds. But this visit we found a lot of little things which left us disappointed. No trashcans in either room. Coffee supplies, no coffee pot. Ironing board, no iron. 1 set of towels in the master bathroom. The beds in the smaller bedroom had the box springs covered with a nice foundation. The box spring in the master bedroom did not. Thus showing the torn plastic on the box spring. The desk outlets did not work. While these things may not seem like much, for what we paid, it really got us thinking if we'll ever return.
The furniture was very rag tag, there were roaches in the room, the coffee pot had not been cleaned out, the door stuck really bad, the pool area was dirty and unusable. The box springs had torn up plastic on them.
Would not recommend it to stay here with family. and horrible customer service they do not offer all amenities they come with a best western. Horrible smell in room No Wi-Fi No free complimentary breakfast
When I first arrived there was trash in the parking lot. I was going to just cancel and leave, but I realized they would charge me for the room anyway. Didn't get maid service. Bathroom sink was clogged. No mirror in bathroom. No towel racks. Furniture was old and worn. There was noise and activity outside in the parking lot until late at night. The only positive thing I could say is that the room was clean. This hotel was way over-priced.
We always chose the Sure Stay Hotel in Buena Park because the rooms are clean, the staff is friendly and helpful, the property is safe and clean, and the price is affordable. The housekeepers will help you refresh towels, etc upon request. The rooms are all newly remodeled and are very nice. It is close to restaurants and fast food, Target, Stater Brothers, and Chevron gas station. Very convenient location. The Source is right next door with restaurants, shops. movie theater, and Karaoke lounge. Close to Knotts Berry Farm and a short drive to Disneyland.
Upon arrival the check in clerk was un-trained and very unprofessional. While checking us in he was more interested in texting on his person cell than interacting with us. He then tried to charge our card again after we had already paid online. Beware and check your financial statements as we found out he tried to charge us again for the full amount of the room. After reading the above reviews it seems as though they have not made any progress to change some of the issues. For example, they are still renovating the entire hotel without disclosing it on their website. Our mattress had a plastic bag as well. We had an a/c unit but it was covered in dust and was falling off the wall. The entire room was covered in a smoking stench even though we booked a non smoker. Beware that the pictures online are not anything like what the rooms look like. They look nothing like what you are booking. We had one desk chair in the corner but no desk with it, and no alarm clock which are some of the basic things a hotel room should have. See pictures! Wish I would have read the reviews before staying here. NEVER AGAIN!
Reserved a king size bed- when I arrived it was a queen/full. When I told management they did nothing. Not enough parking. Most spots are compact spots and people would park in 2 spaces not leaving enough spaces creating a fire hazard. Counter tops were dirty. Walls were thin you could hear people walking
Both rooms had dirty towels, bed sheets and stained old pillows. Housekeeping failed to clean one of the rooms 2 days of the 3. 2 of the 4 nights nights after coming back to our rooms both keys had been deactivated and.had to go to front desk to reactivate. When making reservation, I was informed there would be continental breakfast, but no breakfast was available. Asked to speak to management to address the situation, but nobody was ever available. Will DEFINITELY NOT stay here ever again and will advise other people the same. I will be writing this review on all possible travel websites to warn as many people as possible.
Hotel was not at all what was presented online. It was being renovated, but did not state that; it was upon arrival that we learned this. We had to look at 4 different rooms before finding one that did not smell of smoke and/or have a working a/c unit. Whereas the rooms we saw were renovated, the box springs still had plastic wrap on them but were not in new condition, one of our rooms was coming apart. Both beds sloped; one to one side and the other to the middle of the bed. The hotel online stated rooms had refrigerators and microwaves, but staff said manager decided to charge for them; upon talking to morning person, manager got rid of them all and was not bringing them back. We tried to make due by asking about ice but no ice machine on property. Then upon returning to property at the end of the day, we found a cockroach in our room! There also was no towels/washcloths/hand towels available the 2nd evening. We were told to come back the next day to see if there were any cleaned as they were fully booked and no extras. As renovations were underway, it appeared that half of the rooms were being renovated, so how could it be full enough to not have any towels? Then the towels we finally got on day 3 were thread-bare! We could see our hands through them!! This is unacceptable. We do not recommend this property and wish we could get our money back! It was a less than pleasant stay.
Disgustingly dirty, blatant prostitution happening at the hotel, there was constructions equipment just lying around not put away, dangerous for kids. DO NOT STAY HERE. We ended up leaving after an hour
The place needs a lot of repairs and it shows. The air conditioning had an odor and the tv did not work. Otherwise slept fairly well, location appeared decent. Front desk was terse and uninterested. It is the definitely the least of stays as a diamond member I've had at best western.
This place should have been closed if even the basic amenities are not provided - no fridge, no microwave, no ice machine and not enough towels for a party of 3. We booked a 2 night stay for a party of 3, and there was only 2 towels, asked for an extra from the front desk, nothing available. didn't get an extra one until the day that we are supposed to check out...
No free breakfast as promised, towels are thin and had holes. someone doing drugs in the elevator at night, no ice machine, broken hot tub. We had a recently remodeled room, but the beds were still old, stained brown. Just new fresh paint on the walls and art. I would never stay here again.
I know you get what you pay for but the room had no chair, no tissues, poop stains on in the toilet, poop stains on the wall and hair on the toilet seat but the A//C works. No lamp also but TV Works. This is only good for a quick overnight stay. Wifi works. Elevator is slow and very dirty. I understand they are remodeling but many rooms have no number/signs on it.
There were roaches in the room on the bed call the front desk said there was nothing they can do about it the towels were dirty dirt marks on the white towels that you can obviously very good no help with that so disappointing family trip for our reunion did not turn out well thanks to them
The building is not finished with construction and does not provide Breakfast. This could be a great hotel when all the work is done. It reminds me of a few Motel-no-tells i've hade to stay in a few times.
No ice machine, no microwave and no refrigerator. But rooms have finally been a little updated. The night clerk didn't know how to redeem my best western gift cards so I had to pay full price for the night.
Hotel is under renovation during our stay, it may be a nice hotel in that area after finish, but don't expect too much for the time being. Management needs to work harder to ensure customer satisfaction.
When booking online, we were not advised that the hotel was under construction. If known, we would not have booked. The lobby was a storage area with used mattresses stacked to the ceiling. Check in was through the night window. The elevator was falling apart, graffiti etched into the walls with missing buttons and the inspection card expired in 2018. As we approached our room, the room numbers were written on cardboard and taped above the doors. There was a layer of dust on the floor inside from construction. There was no door hanger for privacy. The room itself was spacious but not finished. The towel bar was missing the bar. There were only two towels and when we asked for washcloths, housekeeping only had one available. There was still coffee left in the carafe from the previous guest. The phone had all of its buttons punched in and no cord connected to the phone or in the wall. There were marks on the wall. Stains on the chair. We stayed one night and then called Best Western the next morning to cancel the second night. We were told we had to go through the office directly because we stayed the first night. We spoke to the front desk person who told us the manager was not available but did not provide a time when they would be. We packed all of our belongings in case we found another hotel. As we were leaving at 10:15am, we watched from the parking lot, the front desk person enter our room. About 10 min later, we received a phone call and they told us that housekeeping entered to clean and there were no personal belongings and wanted to know if we checked out. Covid protocols state that there is no housekeeping during our stay. After all this, we kindly asked to cancel the second night and they obliged. We were only charged for the one night.
Very dirty. Lobby full of mattresses, cabinets on walk walkway. Found bloody sheets in room. Hotel NOT recommended. Management not helpful. Two families had left and the third one stayed because they had already been charged and couldn't afford to get another hotel.
The room smelled like cigarettes. There is a disgusting stain in the tub. AC unit didn't work, and the neighborhood was too sketchy to sleep with the window open. And there's no continental or grab and go breakfast at all.
I booked this hotel 2 months in advance. I requested for one room, 2 queen beds. When we arrived we had to check in through this tiny window, looking into it all you could see stacks and stacks of old soiled mattresses. Then when we got into the room it only had one bed. So I went to go see what the mix up was and he said he was sold out of the rooms with the 2 beds. But I was getting charged the same amount. I asked for a full refund so we could go get another hotel because my whole family couldn't stay on one bed. They charged me for a full night stay but we weren't even in the room for 2 minutes.
Room smelled like cigarette. Dirty/Trashed room amenities (e.g. iron table etc.) and facility (elevator etc.). Room was so noise due to some on-going construction, which was not disclosed before check-in. Continental breakfast was included in the booking price but offered a granola bar and pack of raw oats in a brown bag... Shame on Best Western!!
This was terrible, I expect at the very least cleanliness from a Best Western. The internet didn't work, they said they didn't have breakfast. We received 1 towel, when we asked for 2 more they said they were busy last night and didn't have time so they had no towels. House keeping them attempted to take a towel out of the dirty laundry basket and tell me it was still folded so probably not used. I dont think I need to say what the issue is there. Our room had a broken TV unit and sitting in one of the broken drawers was a pair of sunglasses and socks from someone else who stayed in that room prior to us. The pool and jacuzzi were not maintained. We checked in at a tiny window like we were at a pay by the hour motel. The person who checks people in wasn't even at the window, I pressed the call button like 7 times, then finally started calling out hello? She was on the 3rd floor somewhere and yelled she would be right there. She took my credit card and was gone for a significant amount of time making me feel like I wasn't getting it back or something weird was going on. I know I need to keep an eye on my charges bc who knows what operation they have there. The elevator didn't feel safe and it had graffiti in it, all over it on all the walls, floor to ceiling. We had a “renovated” room but their was also construction everywhere around us. Their were no tissues in the tissue holder, the faucets were not secured and go water everywhere. We had a torn up, dirty random rolling chair in the room. There were multiple families living in some of the rooms. It was a terrible experience and per the policy we couldn't cancel without loosing all our money, they wouldn't budge on that.
This room had nothing! No towel racks, no tp dispenser, no luggage rack, no lamps (only very bright ceiling lights), no alarm clock, no pictures on the wall, no soap dish, no ice machine on site, and no mirrors! My husband had to ask for a screwdriver from the workers on site to tighten the toilet seat. We requested another room and we were told we would have to pay more money. We took video of the room. We stayed at another Best Western in San Bernardino and it exceeded our expectations. It was well equipped and beautiful.
Ohh My Good.. This Hotel is extremely worst to reserve with family vacation. Owner just want money to survive. Hyatt and Marriott take $20 deposit compare to this hotel owner take $500.00 deposit. Room are not clean, under construction but on website it says nothing. No lobby, Breakfast room. Hand over room keys at small windows where family live onsite. Huh !!! Don't waste your money, family time. I reserve non-smoking room and got smoking room with dirty linens, bedsheet with stains ...Don't spoil your health in Covid-19 era reserving such worse location in Disneyland ,Southern California.
Upon pulling up we were skeptical. It was late and our kids were tired. The site is gross, the room worse. White sheets, black foot prints and dirt stains. Beer bottle caps and liquid on dresser counter. When asked for clean sheets the new ones had holes in them. Disgusting. Never stating again. Way over priced
No trash can, no refrigerator. Shower curtain is shorter than bathtub so all water touched curtain goes to outside of bathtub. A lot of winged ants. Extremely dirty floor. only 2 steps get black foot. We showed the proof how dirty they are with towel. Also,We asked more towels or cleaning supply to clean the floor since no house keeper available. The staff just said, don't use towel we need to charge you $15 per towel. Excuse me?? How can we clean super black dirty floor without towels or cleaning supply? It is not safe with little kids especially covid environment.
They are working to get the place updated. You can see the hard work all about. It is Buena Park and so... it is not over the top. We slept well. only stayed one night. Staff was friendly and helpful. I hope that once they finish the rooms they go back and double check what is missing( towel racks and hooks). We worried it may have been a bad choice at the first glance. In the end it worked out just fine. Wish they had had the breakfast as advertised, it was not even modified service as reported on the site.
Had a great experience and the remodeled rooms were a plus! Staff was very friendly and welcoming and housekeeping provided great hospitality. The pool was relaxing on a hot day. I enjoyed my stay and will be returning back very soon.
DO NOT STAY HERE! The property is under construction with no mention of it on the website. Lots of noise and a mess everywhere. The 1st room we were given wouldn't unlock. The 2nd room they gave us wouldn't unlock either. Someone had to come open it for us. Room was dusty and very hot. Lots of dust in the AC vents. I got a rash on my face. Their "online mention" of cleanliness is false. Seems they are not ready to be open. I spoke to workers on site to attempt to cancel the stay and receive a refund for so much inconvenience and I was told that was not possible. I left regardless. Figured I would leave reviews to warn others. My stay 5/21/22
The price of this motel seemed decent. We checked in late at night after a few hours of driving, ready to rest. The front lobby door was locked and inside the lobby was stuffed with old mattresses and old furniture, very messy. The front desk person was wearing a pair of sweatpants and his mask was covering the bottom part of his mouth only. Once we walked in the room, the scent was so strong that I could not breath smoothly. The TV was gone leaving a very dusty table. (I thought they had covid cleaning procedures.) While we were about to change room, we bumped into a homeless person bicycling around the parking lot. At the same time, a guest was yelling loudly at his friend to jump down the staircase for fun. The place did not seem that safe at all. We asked the front desk person about the breakfast hours, and he replied, " We don't have breakfast here," even though its website said they served breakfast. We decided not to stay there.
There were no amenities available, filthy bathroom., no wifi or Internet working. Slept on top of covers because sheets looked used, no phone. Breakfast, coffee, etc not available, no microwave or fridge.
Hotel under construction . Rooms are dusty , strong paint smell, paper thin towels , old nasty A/C. Stained pillowcases , no refrigerator. Didn't inform me that pool closed and no breakfast . Very disappointed that Best Western standards have dropped. Couldn't stay and lost nights stay payment . Best western did nothing to help the situation.
I would not recommend anyone to stay here. They had “renovated“ the rooms recently so they said. Rooms smelt like paint. Screws left all over rooms. Looks like they never even dusted the room. The air conditioning unit did not work and left us without a unit for about an hour. Dresser were missing the doors to it. No remote for the tv. Be prepared to pay extra to have them deliver a refrigerator or microwave to upper room.
Very disappointed, facility is under construction, my room was close to dusty area, the office chair in the room was missing the Armrest support, The curtain had a hole, there was writing on the bathroom door, and the shower curtain rod, the tub looks old. The night we got there I asked the gentleman the breakfast hours and he said “we are not serving breakfast“, I asked if they were distributing breakfast to go and he said no. I wanted to use a $20 gift card from Best Western and the gentleman said I would have to make a phone call in order to redeem it that he couldn't do it. The morning after we are checking out, I saw breakfast to go on the counter from outside the window, the lobby is closed, and I asked the lady who was helping with the check out, she said that the breakfast hours were from 7 to 9 and I told her that the guy, the night before, told me that no breakfast was being served. I can tell you this is my first and last time I'm staying there, I went there only because it said best western but they are far From being a nice experience.
Excellent front desk staff hospitality and excellent management. Very friendly, courteous and always helpful. This property is very clean, and the rooms/bathrooms are always kept clean and well maintained. The rooms are large, nice furniture, lots of lighting, and the TV/cable has very good reception. Good WiFi connection. The beds are clean and comfortable. No bugs. The front desk ladies and housekeepers are always accommodating with the requests of fresh towels, soap, shampoo, toilet paper, cups, coffee, etc. This is a quiet and safe property. Great for families. The manager and staff are excellent with everyones needs, and concerned with the safety of their guests. Any guests with bad behavior are dealt with and not tolerated. I always feel safe staying here. Quiet and comfortable hotel. Great place for families. Restaurants and stores nearby which is convenient.
Roaches, dirty, and cigarettes odor. Manager said cause we use the rooms which we wanted to inspect the rooms after seeing roach in the walls and bathtub had dirty stain they still charge us for one night. And we weren't even their for 15 mins. They didn't wanted me to write a review either
Very comfotable beds, but that is all I can say positive about this hotel. Everything in poor repair, breakfast is a joke, elevator with broken butten. No towels/etc on check-in, office lobby not open - night window all day only.
Horrible stay room 201 needs to be gutted and redone. The paint was peeling off the walls. Holes in the shower pan, smelled, the family now has bed bugs for only being there for a night. Terrible hotel.
Pool and jacuzzi filled but no access allowed, roach in bathroom, no first aid kit available when I had a Nosebleed at 5am, no ESL attendant available overnight, no plug for bathtub, room is unsanitary, lampshades torn, rug not clean, chair not clean, room outdated, towels hard and only 4 provided, no ice machine, no coffee, water leakage in tub.
This hotel looks like they don't want to spend any money on upkeep or amenities. The carpet in our room was soaked with water and the room smelled of mildew. It was very difficult getting them to give us another room. There were many broken items in the room: towel racks, chairs, banged up walls and door, etc. The continental breakfast was pathetic, basically inedible. It puts Best Western to shame and gives them a bad name. We will never stay at another Best Western
Check in staff was very helpful and answered all my questions. The room was clean but worn down. You could definitely see through the worn out curtains. Housekeeping was very nice. They happen to schedule power washing for the roof on our stay. We were on the top floor and could not get our rest. The young lady at checkout was very rude and seem full of herself.
My family and I stayed here before sometime in July 2021. We enjoyed our stay so we decided to stay again for the refrigerator, microwave and ice machine that was available to us in July. As of January 2022 none in these amenities were available for us including a working ice machine for the building. If you need to chill breastmilk find another place to stay. Our room at a musty odor, there were roaches at night and the room did not have a working phone.
Was given key to someone else's room and walked in on them late at night. Was switched to different room that was insanely gross and had several issues: cigarette burns in bedding, empty tequila bottle next to mattress, broken lamps, leak in the ceiling dripping water on the moldy carpet, shower tub floor broken and dirty, stains on walls/ceiling/curtains/mattress, broken windows with no screens, broken security latch on door, and very bad smell. Felt very unsafe and extremely uncomfortable. Complained to staff and they said they couldn't do anything and that they would let their manager handle it.
I usually don't write reviews unless I am COMPELLED to write one. This is one of those situations where the room was so atrocious that I had to warn fellow hotel stayers. Superficially, the hotel looked ok, but the room was terrible. The microwave, hair dryer, and half of the power outlets did not work. Furthermore, the bathtub was damaged with lots of stains in bathroom and towels. Promised breakfast but no breakfast for 2 days. What was also exasperating on the first day was that the shower knob was inverted: You had to tweak it slightly to get hot and a full rotation would be cold - I didn't know so I took a fully COLD shower. The only thing going for it is that the location is convenient.
Hotel was very convenient for me and my family for the duration of our stay, hotel staff was very kind and gave us to go breakfast bags. Hotel can do some upgrades and staff did mention of new management.
Only a mile or so from Knotts in a decent area. Other than that, the rooms were dated and in disrepair. Could only speak to the front desk through the night window even though we arrived during the day.
Dirty bed sheets, no heater, no coffee horrible smell in the room, no help, no breakfast, everything was old and stained. Need major upgraded, for what I paid not worth it, very disappointed and no one helped.
This hotel, although looks great on the outside is run down and dirty on the inside. Cleaning service during the day was non-existent. Although the price was cheap, this hotel was so run down it wasn't worth the savings.
I have filed complaint with Best Wester guest service as they had booked this hotel for family stay. We did not stay after seeing rooms and asked for refund of the amount charged. Best Western visit it
Rooms were dirty smelled bad the bathrooms were horrible specially the tub and bugs In side the bathroom people arguing out side the room They try to give us a room but the room was worse then the one we got
Read a lot of comments and was scared to stay here but nothing like reviews I read. Great location about 5 mins from Knotts Berry Farm with decent rooms for the price paid would stay here again with my family
Thought I had read reviews before booking this place. Apparently, I didn't. Had I seen the mention of roaches, I would have not booked. Learned the hard way. As we arrived, The rooms are old and BW tried to paint and put semi nice furniture. The top door lock was torn off. We still stayed since it was past midnight and we were too tired to drive home. Only booked one night. Thank goodness because my morning we saw 3 roaches in the room. One on the bed!!! Disgusting. We made sure we shook our bags a lot. Didn't want any roaches coming home. We told front desk and they only thanked us. A “I'm sorry” would have been better. You can also view another website for reviews. It rhymes with help. I regret booking this room and putting my daughters through that…
This building was pretty run down. My wife and I went and stayed here for vacation. All I can say is that it was a bed to sleep on as we went and did our activities. They offer no breakfast or coffee. You get what you pay for and this place is nothing to write home about. My wife is 5'9 and the shower head sprays our chests. They rarely made our beds and when we had dirty towels, instead of getting us new ones they picked the dirty ones up off the floor and folded them and gave us to use again. The ice machine was out of order also. Don't expect much if you decide to stay here
Torn up chair, smelled bad, roaches, no wash clothes, rough thin towels, beat up walls, gross bath tub, broken shower bar so curtain didn't stay closed, just old rooms. Will not return. One lady helping with check in was at least nice.
Great location, at a fair price and conveniently located near attractions, near many food and entertainment venues, the hotel has good lighting in the parking lot and the hotel does have an active clean up crew and helpful housecleaning staff
We stayed 2 nights, first we were given a room that was not cleaned, beds were not made up, towels on the floor in the bathroom, dirty. The office then gave us a room that had been cleaned, but there were cockroaches in the bathroom and we saw a couple on the main room. They advertised bathtub, but no plug, so couldn't take bath, only shower. The Office said they couldn't fix.
Room was destroyed. Paint peeling, walls dirty, stained bedsheets to what looked like blood, restroom is beaten down and disgusting & then worst of all, roaches. Room was invested with roaches. Checked in & literally checked out about 2 hours later. As I was checking out, another family was standing behind me and we got to talking, they're checking out too because of the roach infestation & because they received a completely dirty room. Disgusting. I will never stay here nor recommend.
I understand that the hotel is being renovated, but they should not let people to stay in rooms not renovated yet. The bathroom looks bad. The paint was peeling-off and the tub has corrosion. The room was not even ready when we checked-in. We checked-in after 4 pm. The room did not have hand soap at the sink or bath soap in the bathtub. It did not even have a shower curtain. When the lady came back she put the shower curtain and it looks shabby. The cleaner did not even vacuum the carpet. She just used a broom to seep off the debris. They did not even have supplies like tissue or enough hand towel and face towel. We had to request for some. Their ice machine was not even working. I was very disappointed. We will never book at a Best Western Hotel unless it is a PLUS.
Our room had a very strong odor and was roach infested. We saw them on the wall, floor and on top of the desk. Very surprised that a Best Western was in this type of condition. Have stayed at other Best Western properties and have been pleased.
This hotel should be shut down for health hazards my first room had roaches in the refrigerator which leads me to believe that the hotel rooms are not very clean this place is just gross and disgusting staff is horrible maids really should knock before they enter and they need a can of raid for all bugs as they halve ass clean the rooms. second room had roaches every where the bathroom carpet and draws when I informed management of the roaches I given another room that was worse than the first with no refrigerator that I paid for I wouldn't use it anyway seeing hows there roaches every where the bathroom rooms are disgusting just horrible looks like 1000 construction workers used the tub and never cleaned it the furniture is just horrible the carpet is disgusting. I literally paid $200 for a night of terror from the bugs every time my hair swept across my shoulders I just knew it was a huge roach do NOT I repeat DO NOT WASTE YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY here
If you value cleanliness and feeling safe do NOT stay here. I'll admit when I first read the reviews I thought maybe people were being too harsh and nitpicky. A cheap hotel in a tourist spot is bound to have it's issues so why freak out about every little thing right? Good lord, do I wish I listened. Within 2 hours of being there we found a cockroach in the bathroom. I was willing to let it go because who knows how many people have passed through here, it happens, no big deal. Then the people staying next to us sounded like they were murdering someone for hours into the night. We wake up in the morning and find another cockroach in the bathroom. Then another near the dresser. Then another. Then another. We shook out our belongings and put them in the car while I went to go talk to the front desk person about getting a refund for the other 2 days we were supposed to be there. The woman at the front desk was the ONLY redeeming factor because she was super nice and understanding and even refunded our early check in fee without me asking. Do yourself a favor, don't stay here. The price isn't worth it.
I have stayed in BW's many, many times. Everything from Surestay to Premiers. I have to say that this is not only the worst BW I have ever stayed in, but the worst hotel of any brand overall. I'll start with the positives. At least I have a roof over my head so I can't complain about that. Also, the tv and ac works and the shower had good water pressure. The hotel was in a good location right down the street from where I needed to be. Now the negatives...When we walked in the room it smelled strongly of weed. Like, really bad. I couldn't even sleep the first night because of the smell. The mirror on the wall had Jaydee ❤️'s Flaca 2021 carved into the side. Also J + F is carved in the bathtub (He must really like her). There also appeared to be mold or mildew in the caulking on the bathtub and water damage on the wall next to the bathtub. The bed is super hard and creaky and slumped in the middle and the 3 pillows are about 3 inches thick. It was also impossible to not roll to the middle of the bed. There was only one bath towel, one washcloth, and one hand towel. The tv also has a bulge in the bottom where it looks like there are wires exposed. There was no fire alarm, just some wires in the ceiling where the fire alarm should be. Pretty sure that is not legal. And maybe now I'm being nitpicky, but the crooked molding on the wall would drive a more ocd person crazy and the furniture looks like it dates back to at least the early 80's. The arm chair looked worn and the ottoman had stains all over it. The headboard also had some large stains on it. This room should not have been rented to anyone and should have been listed as out of order. Lastly, the outside of the property was average looking for a motel and there was ample parking, but the elevator had a ton of graffiti all over the inside. The hotel should be embarrassed to have rented a room in this condition. Best Western should be embarrassed to have their name attached to a property that rents rooms like this to their customers. I would give this less than a 1 rating if I could. We will never stay at this hotel again and would not recommend it to anyone else.
The room stank of mildew, the bathroom actually had mold/mildew in the shower around the tub and in between the tiles. The finish on the tub was scraping off. There was mildew/mold around the bottom of the toilet. The wall shows signs of water leak. We could not tell where the mildew smell was coming from the bathroom or the ac because it just stank. This was the worst room I have ever stayed in!
This was the my most dissatisfied Best western to date. The location needs a lot of maintenance and repair inside and out. Would not recommend this hotel. Find any other location or hotel many to choose from within 2 miles
They will go in your room while your there and not and also will knock on your door hard and loud before 10a even if you have a late check out. The rooms unsafe for families with kids and pets. To much to explain !
The one we stayed in was huge! My partner and I loved the size. The restroom looked kinda dirty but could be that the tub needs some resurfacing but nothing too bad. I would definitely stay here again just for the room size alone… Staff was amazing.
Pool dirty and hot tub dirtier cloudy water not even hot. Bugs no refrigerator no continental breakfast. Beds are squeaky no support. Didn't clean our room even though we did not opt out or even given the option. My son needed towels had to go them himself. The price sounds good but I expected better from a Best western.
If your a crack/ meth head you will love this place.. if you have children and want to sleep it's not too great. 1st night ppl hung outside my room all night!! Coughing and smoking next night car alarms went off all night! No breakfast though online it says it has breakfast modified ... but they didn't even have that. Staff was good .. but place is just not in good area.
This hotel was way below anyone's standards for cleanliness. The bathroom toilet was leaking, the bathtub had been repaired and seemed very unstable upon entering room 107. There was mold/rust on the handle. Overall a wet mildew smell to the room. Had to ask for towels...had to ask for remote, which did not work anyways. This room was not up to any Best Westerns I had stayed in over the years. This was substandard.
If you value your safety,relaxation/quiet, clean & working amenities of accommodations, then this is NOT the place to stay!Pay the extra money & stay elsewhere! Tagged elevator, broken door, carved toliet seat, half used bottle of lotion left for our use! List goes on....
Cockroaches of all sizes crawling out of everywhere as soon as the lights went out couldn't sleep at all once I saw one and they kept coming I noticed after the fact it's all over Yelp people experiencing the same thing
Nice & quiet very respectful, helpful & courteous staff. Will stay again the double room is the best, the only thing I did not like was not having a hot breakfast in the morning. Its affordable and I enjoyed it.
Earned a free night here. Room smelled of cigarettes, so I immediately lit a candle. Room felt very hodgepodge, with random furniture and clear signs of wear on the walls. There was no breakfast, and even though I arrived in the day time, service was only available through the Night Window.
The room looked nice the overall look of the hotel was different from the picture but the staff was very nice and helpful. It was decent enough for the price. I suppose that due to covid they do not serve breakfast anymore.
If you are okay with staying with roaches, then this might be the hotel for you. I am NOT okay with paying to stay with roaches in a hotel motel whatever you want to call it. IT was 5 pm and he decided to just come walk on out to greet me! NO THANK YOU!
First room had bugs and roaches crawling in the wall and ceiling, plus had several patches where it seemed like someone had punched the walls. Odor was awful. Asked to be moved to another room and it was in worst condition. Smell was overwhelming. Crating scribble on the walls, fridge looked like someone had kicked the heck out of and the scratched the paint off. Curtains were very dusty and stained. Desk chair had white fluid like stains all over it. Bathtub had burn stains from cigarette burns. Upon arrival to the hotel I noticed a couple of homeless people in the parking area one of the I encountered several times on the hall ways smoking cigarettes and not wearing any shoes. Middle of the night we get a couple with a baby next door. Walls are so thin that I can hear the baby cry most of the night. At some point the couple decided that they want to open the door connecting both rooms and slam against in several times trying to open it (luckily I had put lock as soon as I walked in to the room) a few minutes later someone tries to open front door of the room. Once again they are slamming the door and moving the handle back and forth. This happened several times. I thought of calling front desk but of course the phone is missing buttons to call the front desk directly. Worst hotel experience of my life!!! And I have stayed at hotels in the middle of nowhere where usually truck drivers will stop at and they have been in a way, way better condition than this place. Even as I write this I feel like I have bugs crawling all over me from the disgust. I stayed there trusting the Best western brand, but never again. I rather pay twice the amount and I know I will be in a safe and clean place.
Honestly just believe me when I say you do not want to waste your time, energy or money on this hotel. The place is crawling with all sorts of bugs I have never seen before. I woke up twice to use the bathroom and there was a bug crawling somewhere everytime. So gross!!! I would rather sleep in my car! They were like cockroach type bugs! EW! I would rather have spent my money somewhere else even if the price was $20 more! Not to mention we arrived to check in at 430pm and the check in time was 3pm yet the lady at the desk made me wait for 30 minutes because she claimed the computer wouldnt turn on. Little did she know I could see the computer from the small glass window and it was on and she was using it for Facebook. The lady at the front desk is a Karen. I am diabetic too and she wouldnt let me have a fridge to use in my room even though my reservation clearly stated a room with a microwave and fridge. Also, the deposit is $250. Who wants to pay $250 for a deposit at a terrible hotel? I would rather stay at the Hilton at that point. The Hilton only charges a $100 deposit and the hotel is way nicer!!!! Stay away from this hotel!
There was no one at the window outside when I arrived. There was a note saying, "Back in Five Minutes". I waited and waited, and finally I knocked, and someone came to attend to me. The same was true when I checked out, except that no one came to the window at 8:00 a.m. The room was OK, except that it has been a long time since I shared a room with a number of cockroaches. They need to call an exterminator. Oh, I never got the "Grab and Go" breakfast that I was promised because there was no one there.
Unclean, undermaintained rooms, missing amenities and other advertised features, accessible rooms NOT accessible at all. Found 1" torn fingernail on torn carpet, breakfast advertised but none provided, toilets sized for toddlers, stained linens and furniture, gaping hole in outer tub shell, mold in bathroom. Had to request a room change, and only marginally improved.
Good shower , Good heater , OK internet and typical decent hotel room. No breakfast due to pandemic. No upgrades or welcome gift as a diamond member . OK for a one night stay and you get what you pay for
The ice and vending machine doesnt work. Rooms smell like smoke beds uncomfortable no tv control the coffee machine doesnt work the ac doesnt work. Staff do not care. Management does not care. No pool service no breakfast.
This was our second best western-the first wasn't the best location. This location was a little farther but the rooms were perfect. We had the bed space that we needed but we had two separate rooms but yet all together. This suite was just what we needed. Especially the two bathrooms, that was a blessing. The staff was exceptionally helpful especially during this crazy time of the virus. Everyone we encountered was so very helpful and kind. We will definitely stay here again.
The hotel is average however the customer service is amazing. I left my glasses in the room and Mariella quickly retrieved them and reached back out to me. Thank you! The hotel is a very convenient location, walking distance to shops and restaurants and just a mile from Knotts Berry Farm.
This is an ok hotel for the price. It's walking distance to The Source and other Shops at Buena Park. Also not to far from Knott's Berry Farm and the Buena Park Mall. The beds seemed a bit saggy and the AC is loud. The major reason I have this only 2 stars is because I found roaches in my room when I came back at night and turned on the lights in the bathroom. I killed it and didn't think much of it, but later that night I was woken up to yet another roach crawling on me. When I got up to turn the lights on I seen other roaches crawling on the walls. So unless they fumigate and tent this hotel, my rating will stay at 2 stars
Let's start this off that we paid $54 a night. Your expectations should not be that of a Hilton. My family stayed in 2 rooms for 8 days here. We were on the top floor. Rooms were huge and clean. People who complain about the breakfast- it clearly says on their site not to expect a continental breakfast. Muffins, pastries, juice, coffee, milk, and fruit. Pool was cold and hot tub was hot - kids could care less. No parking or resort fees like other places. If you're on a budget or just don't want to spend $200 a night on a place you'll just be sleeping in, this is the place. We will be back.
It was the worst hotel in my life. Everything was dirty and with bad smelling. Rooms haven't noise isolation you feel like you are sleeping on the streets and comparing to the hotel the streets are cleaner. Unless you would like to experience American movies on how to be a drug dealer or a prostitute this is the perfect hotel.
A very good place to stay Great customer service peace and quiet I always enjoy my stay there A great place to get away relax for the weekend And it's also close to some very good restaurants nearby anything park
I do not recommend this hotel this hotel it's really dirty the bed they took them out the trash and put them in the rooms it's a really nasty hotel this hotel it's good only for one or two hours this hotel it's not for you and your family I travel and I stay over 200 nights and I hotels and this is the where'sHotel that I stay off so I really do not recommend it if you want to use it for one hour or two that's a good hotel over pricing for that same price you can get better five stars hotel
This place should not be called a hotel but rather a motel for prostitutes and drug dealers! The room was extremely unhygienic and very dirty. The side table still had stained nail polish, the door frame looked like it had been shot through or broken down. The head boards were stained and very dirty, the bathroom tub was broken, the wall was bulging etc. The website falsely advertising breakfast but that it is under construction. There is no construction going on just the check in room with tables and a few snacks on the tables. STAY AWAY!!!!
This hotel is not a good place to stay. Our room keys did not work every night when we came back to the room. Then when we finally did get into the room after going to the front desk 3 times the room had not been serviced. When I tried to call the desk I found out the phone in three room didn't work. The next day again, the keys didn't work. We also found a very scary man doing drugs on the stairs. The last day again the keys didn't work and again no service of the room. Now the manager hasnt returned any of my phone calls.
You get what you pay for. When we first arrived I noticed the towels didn't seem clean. The hand town was in a wad on the counter with the toiletries on top. One of the bath towels had a period stain. I could t tell if they were clean or just got refilled from the previous guest. There was a hair left in the tub. We were assigned to room 210. we realized the toilet wouldn't flush my husband cleared the toilet and then noticed the tub wouldn't drain either. He asked for a plunger and they couldn't find one so they moved us to room 211. It was an easy move since it was right next door. This room felt cleaner. The towels in both rooms were thin and small, well used. While we were sleeping my husband sat at the desk having a snack and saw roaches climbing the wall. I will not stay here again.
Room was not equipped with either a microwave or a refrigerator as the amenities list says. The room seemed clean, but there was still trash in the trash cans from the last people who stayed. (Chewed gum & comdom wrappers). The continental breakfast consisted of green bananas, oranges and muffins/donuts prepackaged. Also had some oatmeal for a hot choice. Would not recommend.
No working telephone or Tv, they were there for show. One lamp had no electricity to it and just had a severed cable.... poor housekeeping, we didn't have towels for a day and yes there's no fitted sheets in the beds so when you move around the bed comes undone... elevator need huge renovations bc is falling apart and well the rooms are run down. Had to call the police bc of a domestic violence dispute in the room next to us that woke us up in the middle of the night with threads of killing themselves. Parking flooded... I mean I thought the reviews were wrong but staying here as long as we did was a mistake. This is ok if your passing thru and need a place to crash but not for a long vacation.
Found roach in the room, broken fingernails on the floor, hair in the bed (not mine), trash under the bed, chewed gum stuck to the air conditioner (again not mine), air conditioner didn't work well, fire/smoke alarm appeared broken and hanging from the ceiling, they ran out of wash clothes so we had one for three people, was told manager would call me but never did, extended stay weirdo next door room smoked cigs outside of our room and smoked something from a tin-can (make your best guess what it was wink wink), overall stay was horrible.
On the surface, the room looked clean. I had read the reviews about roaches so I looked closely. The room wasn't very clean. The first night I did not see any bugs but saw a roach the second night. The phone did not work. The door on the furniture was broken. The towels were NOT stained like others have mentioned. The breakfast was very limited and grab-n-go. (cereal boxes, danish, muffins, fruit)
No matter how clean can be the bad. Bugs waking me up in 3AM will always make a 1/10 rating and I am sure to never get back to this hotel. The room was changed but next afternoon I saw a new people in our previous room so I think that nobody take care about the roaches. Brrrrr....
The location was perfect for the areas we visited around Buena Park. The room was clean and did not have any odd smells. We received a room at the top of the stairs near the front of the hotel and was a great location for waiting on an Uber or being close to the front desk for snacks and water. The in room fridge worked great. The bathroom was clean and the shower worked fine. No cold showers or slow emptying tub or sink. The room was clean and the beds were very comfortable and had nice clean sheets. I would stay here again with out hesitation and would recommend anyone to give them a try. The picture I saw online matched the room. We walked to Denny's down the road for breakfast and even though it was a busy Saturday morning it didn't take long for our party of three to be seated. They also have a mall/cinema in walking distance so plenty to do if you want.
Best place to go. Clean the staff is excellent they are very respectful. I recommend them when you visit Buena park. Just so peaceful Have many places to eat. A cross the street from sizzler & fudruker burger. Dennys pizza hut kfc Arbys so many & just five minutes away fron knotts berry farm
We stayed here 6 months ago and it was a poor stay. The cheap rate brought is back and the improvement was very noticeable. Congratulations... this stay was much better. The staff were very professional and friendly. We will be back.
on our way to the hotel my husband and I read the reviews and were worried and almost cancelled our reservation. After we checked in we noticed the reviews were wrong and we had a nice stay. Breakfast however is just grab/go, but otherwise it was okay for what we paid. One of the mattresses was maybe worn out and the towels were a bit small.
When we arrived we were greeted by friendly staff and a beautiful Queen Room with fast Wi-Fi and a central location. The staff were really helpful and highly professional. We are looking forward to our next trip!
Do not stay here unless you want to deal with drug addicts and prostitutes outside your room. Hotel room is clean and everything, the remote is covered in nasty crust only some buttons work. The mattress hurt my back the whole night. If your excite about the Jacuzzi don't be, its freezing cold!
Good Price Bad Service! The rates are excellent and you defiantly get your value but it comes at the cost of sacrificing customer service. The room was overall good but the fridge didn't work, when reported to the front desk they made a note and never fixed or replaced it. I was drinking warm water for three days :(
The guy at the front desk when we checked in was very nice. I had 4 gift cards that he had to individually input in to the system apparently. He was very patient. When we entered our room, I noticed the door had been kicked in. Definitely showed signs of forced entry. It was horribly repaired and the door closed but did not latch very well. If the door was repaired properly, it would at least give guests a sense of security. That night, we took the kids down to the pool/hot tub. The pool area was clean. The hot tub water was cold. There were other guests in the hot tub as well. One of those guests asked the front desk if they could make the “hot tub” hot. The response was “I don't know how to do that.”
I will spare you all the details bottom line they have a major issue with cockroaches and they won't even refund my money-we left soon as we opened door, in all my years of travel Never Ever have I ever experienced such deceit, lies and total disregard for a customer. I now see other reviews in August that discovered cockroaches they obviously know they have a problem so beware they are everywhere!
Hotel is centrally located in the city of Buena Park in Anaheim. Close to highways and about one hour away from the Los Angeles Airport. There is a microwave a refrigerator and a coffee maker in the room. Air conditioner works well and the bed is very comfortable. Fee parking on the property. Close to several restaurants within walking distance. Rooms are very clean.
My wife and I had our house tented and treated for termites. I still had the unused two free stays at a Best Western Hotel that I attempted to use in Abilene and decided to use them at the Best Western Sure Stay in Buena Park, which is about seven miles from our home, and we spent Monday night and last night there. We made our reservations through the Best Western Rewards program, just like we did for our stay in Abeline. However, Saturday, I decided to call the hotel just to be sure that my request for both my service dog and my wife's would be honored. I spoke to the hotel manager, whose name is Cash. He told me that service dogs are welcome and all that would be required is for us to bring written documentation that our dogs are certified as service dogs. I explained to him that we would gladly show him our documentation but that his policy was inappropriate and that he could only ask us the two legal ADA questions concerning them. I explained that Montera, my service dog, alerted me to sounds that I could not hear and that my wife's dog, Daisy, alerted her to the outset of migraine headaches. He thanked me for the information and told me that he would look forward to seeing us on Monday. Monday, August 26, we checked in at approximately 2:15 PM. We drove in separate vehicles because we were going to store dry goods in my van and refrigerated goods in an ice chest in the room. Jeannie arrived first and was told that our reservations had been canceled on August 8th. By the time I got there, Jeannie wasn't sure what was going on, and the desk clerk, Mariella, out of what I think was mostly confusion about the situation, was not going to check her in. When I finally got to the hotel and found out from Jeannie what was going on, I asked Mariella to let me talk to her manager, who was not present but was talking with her on the phone. He then accused me of harassing his employee. I tried to explain that all we wanted to do is to have our reservations honored so that we could check-in. I explained to him that we had made earlier reservations through the Best Western Rewards program but had called the hotel on August 8 to cancel those reservations and reschedule our stay for the 26th. Our re-booking, then, was again through the Best Western Rewards program, and I showed Mariella the message. Cash said that he could do nothing and that I would have to contact Best Western Reward Reservations on my own, which I did to enable check in.
I do not recommend staying here. Booked clients there and the stay was horrible, they checked out earlier. Rooms not clean, breakfast is a joke. Unfriendly staff and you can't get hold of a manager... There's way better alternatives in Buena Park
Our room had cockroaches in the bathroom (seen after spending the night),a musty odor, a dirty door (inside and out) with chipped paint, used soap in the shower, damaged furniture, an old hair dryer (which only worked when you held down the button), no cover on the ironing board and no place to set luggage. You are completely charged at check in. The only consolation was a refund at checkout.
Would not recommend this hotel at all. Got charged for already stained towels (never used) we had our own, odor in room, incompetent housekeepers, front desk even to their FRONT OFFICE WORKERS & MANAGERS. Item missing in room, when told you'll get a discount to your room due to the issues you had, don't hold your breath, when told you'll get that adjustment that they charged you due to their ALREADY stained towels that they give their guests, don't hold your breath. Pay the extra money to stay at a Best Western but NOT a chain like SURE STAY!! I am an EMPLOYEE of BW but would never again stay at a SURE STAY. Sad but truth
My stay was great, the staff was friendly and attentive. The price was EXCELLENT, also the hotel was clean. There were many restaurants and places to shop, very close to Disney and Knott's Farm. The commute to L.A. was 25 -30 minutes.
Keycards kept deactivating, so return trips to the front desk to get in. No parking. People working on their cars the whole time. Loud parties in shared space (pool). AC and toilets questionable on if they actually work or not. RAILING IS TOO WIDE. AFRAID FOR MY KIDS TO FALL THROUGH FROM 3RD FLOOR.
Room wasn't as I expected and breakfast bar was not offered disappointed. Parking was ok and location was good but there was major road construction in front of hotel and made it impossible to access. My AC and TV wasn't working. I found roaches in room
We will never stay here with our family again. We did not feel safe with the homeless on site wandering and breakfast was a joke. Capri sun and crackers. Hairdryer and remote were broken. Only 1 towel in the room. No rags. Came back at 5pm the next day and our room had not been touched but someones groceries were piled in front of our room.
Room was not clean, some features were broken/malfunctioning (fridge, shower, clock), furniture/sheets stained, bugs in room. Booked this hotel on the tail end of a work trip to have some fun in California. I'm a Best Western rewards member, and figured this would be fine to just have a place to sleep, and it was close to the places I planned to visit. Never again.
Great Friendly Staff Thank you Maria and Cash. Close to Knott's. Room 207 was very clean. Nicely decorated . Beds very comfortable. Felt very welcoming. Close to restaurants and stores. Housekeeping lady went out of her way to make sure we had everything we needed. Really enjoyed this stay.
So many problems. Room was not clean. Shower control was broken. Toilet did not flush properly. Bed was not properly made. Had to ask for box of tissue. "Breakfast" consisted of some granola bars and cracker packets. Powered creamer for coffee--not even creamer cups. Young woman at front desk was very helpful, but not sure how much she could do to remedy problems. Oh, and insulation between rooms is terrible. Inconsiderate neighbors kept us up until wee hours of morning.
The remote did not work, and had no back - only a piece of tape. There was a random pill found behind the nightstand. All of the outlet plugs were very loose and struggled to hold in the cords. Several lights would not turn on. Check out took forever, and the person had no idea how to use my gift cards. We not checked out over a week ago, and I had to call twice about the gift cards, and my charge has still not been released back to my credit card. It was 15 min driving distance from Disneyland, but very close to Knott's. Small lot to park free. No shuttle. No variety of breakfast; fruit and prepackaged donuts/danish.
Friendly staff horrible room. My room was very dirty and smelled funny. The sheets looked dirty, the pillow case had lip stick stains. The hair dryer did not work. Someone before me stole the TV power cord so my TV didn't work. The staff did fix the TV issue quickly but everything else was below my expectations. I wish I would have read reviews before I stayed here
Of never call this a "best" western, more like a "worst" western. Room was not clean.need was not made properly, shower control was broken, no tissues in room, "breakfast" was a couple of granola bars and coffee with powdered creamer, and more. Desk clerk was apologetic, but I can bet nothing will change.
Close and convenient to everything including Knottsberry farm and only 30 more minutes to Universal Studios Hollywood Friendly staff always at your service quiet location and close to many restaurants and freeways for easy access
Black mold on the ceiling, dirty furniture, mold in the bathtub, no place to hang towels or bathrobe, miniature soaps, unidentifiable shampoo/conditioner. Bed is comfortable, room was clean. Not really impressed for $60 night. Definitely NOT up to Home Away/VRBO/Best Western standards. Since this is a place to "sleep only" it will do, but won't return.
The room was left dirty. Food in and under the microwave. Spilled food in the refrigerator. Pubic hair on the toleit and under the seat. Hair obviously left in shower. Cabinets were not even wiped down.
The staff was great. They were very attentive to my needs and expedited service quickly regardless of what I asked. LOVED IT! I recommend it. I can't say enough good things about my stay. I will be returning.
No go for sure .this property has excellent staff but unfortunately the service does not make up for the age and she me of the issues the rooms have . They smell like a toilet . The plumbing has numerous problems just to list a few . I would not recommend this property.
Upon reading the reviews, we were a bit hesitant to book this property, but we did not regret it. I suppose most of the reviews are related to the previous operator Ramada. The hotel is super well located, parking is great, rooms are clean and big. Breakfast was limited but contributed to a great start of the day. We would stay here again ! Thank you ! P.s. Extra kudos go to a receptionist who helped us check in at 9 PM on March 5th. We have arrived after a long ~20 hours trip from Europe, and the guy at the reception took a great care of us. Thank you !
I'm a Flight Attendant who has stayed @ Four Star Hotels around the world.... but this SureStay Hotel is clean for this type of property. The Check-In Attendant was SO nice!! That started things off right!! Complementary Breakfast 7:00-9:00 am.
My name is Alfredo . I recommend Surestay Hotel to anyone. The service i was giving in that Hotel is like 100 % satisfaction and if you ask if i am planning to go back you best believe pretty soon Thank you Hotel Surestay
Buena park is one of my favorite places to visit. In February 2019 we stayed here for about 3 nights, and let me say I AM DEFINITELY COMMING BACK! The Young women in the front desk was very polite, and welcoming, she took my reservation number asked for my Id, and about min later handed my keys. Very good staff, rooms are great! Very clean, and warm, for a family of 5, the size of room was just right! A little bigger than most in the area and prices better too! Eventhough they are renovating there breakfast in the morning was light and healthy just perfect. They had Coffee, oatmeal, and fresh fruit! Nearby shops and restaurants closeby like knotts, medieval times and the mall... it was just great!I would recommend Sure Stay Hotel to all my friends and family. Quick and easy check in, the friendly service and welcoming staff, and overall customer experience was best in this area, and I've stayed a lot of different places over the years! Thank you very much for everything guys.
Opening the door of our room we immediately were hit with an awful musty old smell. We got there late at night and continued to unpack our things, and then I sat on the bed and realized it was extremely warn in. Then there was an annoying ticking noise that came from the fridge area. There was a bug in our bathroom and I flushed the toilet and it did not work. Then I go to get in the bed and there was no fitted sheet and I could hear neighbors in the other room. I was completely disappointed and left within an hour of checking in. I'm still waiting to see if they will actually issue me a refund like they said.
The room was nice, bed was comfortable. The in room coffee was terrible. I tried a couple of times, thinking I might have gotten a bad batch the first time. There was never enough sugar to fix the taste where it was drinkable.
The maids ruined my father n laws military backpack and threw dirty and wet towels on our personal items and all we got from the office was sorry. Unbeliveable how disrespectful some people can be. The night shift guys are really helpful and professional.
We checked in at night and looked creepy as soon as I got to the location. It didnt even look like they were in business. No lights on the exterior. The reason why I booked this place is because last minute decided to go to Disneyland. Our original plan was just to go to Great Wolf Lodge and since we were going to spend thousands at that resort, we settled for a cheap hotel for 2 nights near Disney. First night from a 8 hour drive, we didnt get any sleep. We heard noises coming from inside the walls, between our door cracks we can still see the outside-felt like our door wasnt closing all the way, dead flys in the bathroom and noticed one of our bed sheets had a period stain on it. Didnt even bother to tell the front desk as we just wanted to go to sleep. Next morning, coming out the shower and grabbing a towel and noticed there were yellow stains on the towels. DISGUSTING!!! Couldnt do anything about it since I was already dripping wet. I had to lightly pat myself with it. Spent the whole day at Disneyland and came back to another night of noises in the walls. It was just HORRIBLE!!!!! Couldnt wait to get out of there and go to Great Wolf Lodge the next morning. Not to mention the wifi kept going in and out-so much for free wifi!!!!
We arrived after a 12 hour drive to be told that we had no reservation, even though I had my confirmation letter. The clerk didn't even seem to care. We arrived 1 hour after check in, so it's not like we were a no show, they were just heartless. They caused a lot of stress to our family vacation. Be careful what companies you trust, or you could end up sleeping in your car.
First off let me say that if this review was based solely on customer service I would be giving the hotel a 5/5. Frank and Cash were extremely helpful and friendly. Frank made checking in a breeze. Cash gave me a few near by recommendations on places to eat dinner. The room was exactly as pictured in all the pics I saw online except I was missing a few things. I did not have a fridge or microwave (few of the reasons I chose this place). When I realized I didn't have any towels I went to call the front desk but I didn't have a phone to do so. Cash was very nice in gaving me a couple bath towels and he even mentioned he was in the process of getting a phone in my room. The thing that annoyed me the most was my room's placement right in front of the elevator. Some lady and her two kids were up all night going from floor to floor, talking loud as if it wasn't 3 in the morning! With a few changes this place could be a great hotel with an amazing staff!
I booked this through Hotels.com and this was a horrid experience! There was no outlets that would work to charge my laptop or phone. One outlet didn't have a safety cover on it so I couldn't have had my son in there. They decided the solution for the smoke detectors was just to remove them, they were not inner-connected and the shower would set them off. There was mould or something growing on the walls in the bathroom. The room was dirty. The only way to stay cool was open the window for the night leaving it dangerous. There were drug deals happening in the parking lot. Both times that I came in at night I was offered drugs. The night attendant left me outside for 30 minutes while he was smoking pot. I couldn't believe how bad this place was! I can't believe that they have 3.5 stars.
Our biggest mistake was not reading reviews. Room is Old and dirty, and musty. Be careful in sitting on the chairs, legs are woobly!!! Bed Sheets were filthy even with foot prints when we arrived. No room service even after prior request. Then finally came to make the bed. No fresh towels. When finally a few towels added, only one size. Towels were thread bear. Free Breakfast? What a JOKE! Juice machine permenantly broken, package instant oat. Even cheap tea bags were no where to be found last few days. Office clerk indicated there is not management on service, clerk job is simply to greet customers. Room keys got broken twice during stay. All we can say is NEVER AGAIN If I have a choice, I won't even give one circle
Roach motel. homeless people sleeping on mattress in parking lot. furniture broken in room. toilet had no water in it. no access key due to broken locks. beds had dirty sheets. Holes cut out in carpet like someone had been killed there. Refused to stay and moved to another hotel. Manager nor priceline will refund me. Have disputed charge with credit card company. never stay here or book through Priceline.
