dirty floor - found food and spiece of yringe under bed. box spring cover ripped and layiing on floor, bathroom door hook fell off when touched, check in very difficult, breakfast had no butter or cream cheese for bagels
This hotel appeared to be new and was very clean. The staff were pleasant and professional. The room was clean and spacious with very comfortable beds and pillows. The was some dog barking in the hall in the early morning. Be aware that all rooms here are pet friendly. Breakfast was good with plenty of choices. Parking was plentiful and spacious enough if you happen to have a boat or trailer.
My stay at Best Western in Brockport exceeded expectations. The staff was exceptionally personable, adding a welcoming touch to the experience. The rooms were modern, clean, and offered excellent amenities. The reasonable price made it even more appealing. I appreciated the convenience of having an equiped fitness center and the hotel's proximity to SUNY Brockport. Overall, it was a delightful stay that I would highly recommend to anyone visiting the area. Best Western Brockport truly delivers on comfort, quality, and value.
This is a nice property and the staff are very friendly. Unfortunately, we had a few hiccups we could have lived without. 1) There was a dirty towel on the floor of our closet when we arrived. 2) The wasn't enough food options for breakfast and they ran out of food. 3) The internet was horrible. It was about the worst I've experienced in many years. Before retiring I traveled expensively throughout the U.S. for business. I would not return to this property because of the slow internet. To me it just seemed that management was cutting corners to save money. Otherwise, it's a nice property, the rooms are nice and the staff friendly.
The STAFF were friendly & very accommodating. We were displaced for a few days due to flooding in our Apartment. We had to find Dog friendly for our little family. Absolutely a hotel with Breakfast 💜
The room was very comfortable and clean. Staff was nice and conversational. Breakfast left a bit to be desired, but that's ok. Bed was comfortable, internet worked fine. The area that the hotel is located is quiet, which was nice. Dining options within 1/2 mile is also a plus.
This is a great hotel to stay at if you are in the area. The staff is very friendly, breakfast is great, the rooms were extremely clean and well taken care of. The hotel can be pricey but it is much better than other options in the area. Give them a try !
This was 2nd time staying at this Best Western in Brockport. The price is excellent. The breakfast was good. The room was clean but not spotless. However it was homecoming weekend so they may have been overwhelmed. The front desk was friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay here again.
I see many reviews on here from happy travellers (not all though) and good for them - sadly I will now tell you a tale of today's total disaster at Brockport Best Western which after a lifetime of global travel ranks as the worst hotel experience I have ever had the misfortune to endure. We traveled to Brockport today from the UK via Tampa Florida so we were rather tired on arrival at this fairly new Best Western. Sadly, on arrival, the sole member of staff in the building tried to check us in, but despite being able to issue key cards quickly she was not permitted to allow us into our room until she processed our credit card for $50 for 'incidentals', but the computer system crashed and it couldn't be done. In her shoes I would have said, go to your room sir and come back in 30 minutes - I am sure it will all be sorted by then BUT NO!! Instead we had to stand and wait for over 20 minutes waiting for the system that would not work to start working. Despite having paid in advance the major part of $1000 for the booking, the fear that we might abscond having taken a bag of chips from the display gripped the girl which then dictated the next 15 minutes of paralysis. Despite any appeals for logic and reason, all my efforts to move the thing along were met with Lexi (receptionist) insisting that she would lose her job if she let us into the room without the card being processed! SERIOUSLY???? Eventually the manager was contacted (off site) but she refused to speak with me to try to smooth an escalating frustration. Not interested. I have never in a lifetime of travel been so ignored by any manager who's primary job should be to ensure customers have a great experience but clearly Alexandra Agostinelli (for that is her name) didn't get that memo or attend the Customer Service training day. Having got no-where in house I called customer services in national head office to make a formal complaint. I must assume the manager didn't like that because shortly after I was instructed to leave the hotel immediately. They were cancelling my reservation and if I didn't go straight away the Police would be called AND they were still going to charge me for one night too!!! No justification - no explanation. In my view this is theft. They cancelled my reservation - not me. Neither my wife nor I did anything wrong, criminal, crooked or offensive - we simply grew frustrated at being kept waiting almost half an hour in the end so they could take $50 for things I hadn't purchased. Our family owned our own airline in the past and we have always believed that customers matter. The arrogant, off hand way in which this manager and this company treated us by throwing us out at 7.30 in the evening with nowhere to go and still holding on to perhaps $200 for nothing leaves me horrified at this corporate ineptitude and ignorance. Stay there if you must though I really advise you not to.
Had a good night's rest and enjoyed breakfast. Didn't even know this hotel existed in Brockport. We have done a lot of travelling to Rochester/Henrietta before and after the pandemic and so far our stay at BW Brockport was very enjoyable and restful. We will definitely recommend BW Brockport to our friends and family to stay at this hotel.
Our reservations were all messed up . Had prices all Wrong. District manager Lindsey refused to do anything about it .the air in my daughter's room was not working. We had to cut our vacation short one day because of the hotels mistakes. Horrible, Horrible vacation
I was traveling with my family and needed a place to stay because we were 7 hours away from home and the place I planned was not going to work out. Brie (the front desk) was so helpful when we called she got us a room. We went over and she helped to ensure that we were able to get the best possible outcome. Then we needed a room the following night which was a bit more difficult but Brie and Greg (the night front desk) were able to get us into a different room for the following night. I have to say that both Brie and Greg went above and beyond what a hotel employee normally would they really both were exceptional!!!! The rooms were clean and the breakfast was great!
Me and my husband were taking some alone time and we stayed at the Best Western in Brockport NY. It was absolutely great! The Hotel itself was so clean, the room was clean, the breakfast was great and the customer service ladies were absolutely amazing. We would recommend this hotel to everyone if your looking to stay in that area.
The room was clean and in good condition. We were at the end of the hallway on the second floor, and noise was not an issue. Breakfast is included and is serviceable (expect simplicity, not Michelin stars). We would stay here again.
This a very clean well taken care property. Nicest pet friendly hotel near the SUNY Brockport campus. This is my first choice for a hotel when in the area. The hotel staff are knowledgeable , friendly and professional.
We stayed one night at Best Western Brockport and had a great experience. The staff was excellent - friendly and welcoming. The room was clean and tidy. I enjoyed that the hotel was not in the middle of town. It's off the road a bit in a wooded area that is quiet, private and wooded.
For 25 years our group of fishermen have come to Brockport in July. We have stayed a several hotels in the Brockport area but 10 years ago we switched to Dollinger's Suites. Best Western bought out Dollinger's a couple years back. We were concerned that the quality would slip. We are ABSOLUTELY HAPPY with how Best Western has continued to improve the quality of service at this hotel. Spacious rooms, very clean facilities, outstanding staff service, wonderful and delicious breakfasts are things that you do not find in many hotels. Best Western - Brockport is the place to stay. They accommodate small groups with outstanding rates, and a stay that makes you want to come back again and again.
I was really impressed with all the staff, cleanliness of my room, comfortable bed. Even the breakfasts were good. Different hot food each day! Even at 2am the person on duty was very friendly and upbeat. I couldn't be more pleased. I had zero issues. They're even pet friendly! I don't give good reviews unless a place earned it and this location definitely did!
Lived there for 18 years and never noticed the hotel behind the trees. The hotel was great looking, clean rooms, great staff, breakfast, close to everything. Definitely will be staying at this hotel again next year
We stayed at the Best Western Brockport for a nearby soccer tournament and had a great experience there. Rooms were clean and staff was excellent. The parents were allowed to hang out in the breakfast room and watch the hockey game one evening, so that really helped since the rooms aren't overly large. Everyone working the front desk was very friendly and accommodating.
Excellent hotel, very clean, in a nice safe area. Very accessible to shopping and restaurants. The breakfast buffet was fresh, With many options. one of the best I've of ever seen. Hotel and rooms very clean, staff extremely friendly and professional. Would definitely stay again and recommend to others. Beds super comfortable.
Liz runs an excellent place. She is one of the reasons we stay there all these years. Only down side for a family is no pool. Everything else is excellent. Close to stores and the college. Price is right too.
We had not seen our mother in over a year and Liz made our stay great and the price was great to meet our travel budget. We are looking forward to our next trip. The bed was so comfortable and the room was so clean and neat. Thanks guys!
The staff and facilities were excellent. Except that the rooms did not have a microwave. They only had them for the King size accommodations. They also advertised a dining area but it was only for continental breakfast. Dining out was the only option.
Overall a great place to stay. Close to all the Brockport area has to offer. Rooms are clean, good size and priced nicely. The staff is friendly and helpful. Free breakfast has a lot to choose from. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.
Found Best Western Brockport to be very clean and updated (new floors & carpets), very tidy throughout! Our room was very clean and beds/pillows comfortable. Friendly front desk staff. Lots of choices for the continental breakfast also choices for those with food allergies or sensitivity.
We saw two roaches in our room. One in the main area and another in the bathroom. We informed the manager and he changed our room. No apology and he didn't seem to care. Our new room had a baby's pacifier under a chair. The refrigerator had leftover food from a previous guest. Disgusting!
My stay was a very pleasant surprise: welcoming, caring staff from the top down; clean rooms with excellent beds and plenty of power/usb outlets for charging. The breakfast room served a decent selection of hot food, cereals, yogurt, muffins, fruit etc. in a comfortable sit-down dining room. It has to be my most pleasant stay at any caliber of inn in my traveling experience. Most of all, my two dogs were very welcome - not just "allowed" to stay.
I had traveled to Brockport in 2021 to attend a family celebration and stayed at BW Brockport. The location was very close and the room was affordable. When I needed to travel to Brockport this week I contacted the hotel since I knew it was a convenient location. There were many events in the area, but I was fortunate to secure a room for the night. Friendly, helpful staff, clean and comfortable rooms will keep me coming back to the hotel on future visits.
8/11/22 we checked in to Brockport NY Best Western Room 111 around 7pm. After driving for 7 hours. Upon entering the room we noticed it hadn't been cleaned from the previous guest. House keepers missed it. The bed had not been changed, the bathroom was soiled with dirty laundry, there were empty food containers ect. We immediately went to the front desk to inform them and had to wait about 20 minutes to get waited on due to other people checking in and only one person on duty. Once I informed him about the room he tried to contact the manager with no success. The hotel was booked so there was no other rooms to put us in so he was going to continue to try and reach the manager. In the meantime we stood in the dirty room waiting for a response and some direction. We were in town for a wedding and could not even shower or sit down not knowing what was lingering in the room. We ended up missing the wedding rehearsal that night. Finally several minutes later staff came to the door and said that he would change our bed sheets but still could not reach a manager I let him know that the room needed a complete cleaning and not just a change of sheets. He said he could try and do it however he was by himself and had been straight out busy with guests and the phones since we arrived and at this point we were annoyed and exhausted. I told him to please get me some cleaning supplies and fresh Linens and I would just clean the room myself which I did and took me about an hour and a half to get through it. It was after 9:00pm before we could actually settle down after being on the road most of the day. The manager finally called back around 9pm. The desk clerk informed us the manager said she would comp that night. I let the staff know I'd talk to the manager my self in the morning as I did not feel that was acceptable to make this horrific check in situation good. I literally had to clean and disinfect the entire hotel room where we were supposed to be able to relax after traveling. Never in my life! And I have pictures of it all of you'd like to see. I literally was on my hands and knees wiping up strangers bodily hairs all over the bathroom and scraping feces on the inside of the toilet with my bare hands! In addition had to handle thier dirty towels and sheets. Just what I wanted to do after traveling and amongst covid and everything else going around. But I did it. There was no other options. The next day on 8/12 I spoke to the manager and let her know the details of what happened and that we tried contacting her. I was told by her that when she is not here that "her time is her time". Basically indicating to me it was not an urgency for her to respond and help us figure out this situation and of course the clerk was busy with other customers and phones and had no idea what else to do with us so we basically wasted nearly 3 hours trying to get some direction and get the room in order. However she told me all she could do was comp that one night and I told her that was not acceptable to me considering all that we had to do before we were able to even sit and settle down in the room. She asked what we felt was fair and I felt since we were here 4 nights and didn't even get to enjoy the room the first night that 2 nights should be comped. She said she'd have to call someone to get approval and would leave a note on our door. That was around 1pm that day. We never heard a thing back. On our last night there We went to the front desk id say around 7pm to see what the status was and the clerk on duty said it was his understanding that nothing was to be comped. Obviously that is not OK! We asked him to please try and reach the manager asap as we had to check out in the morning. Never heard a thing back. This was clearly an oversight and we understand that things happen however there was no other rooms to give us and we were forced to stay in the room that had not been cleaned and no other choice given how late it was getting to just clean it ourselves in order to get comfortable after traveling all day. This should have never happened in a hotel of this magnitude especially the service from the manager. She was rude, uncompassionate, unapologetic, unprofessional and kept trying to place blame on the desk clerk for how things were Handled.. this was completely unacceptable. And that clerk was alone, dealing with customers and phones and was apologetic .. not his Fault nor was it his fault he couldn't get any management on the phone for nearly 2 hours. Upon checkout we still hadn't gotten any response and were charged FULL price! Not OK! Contacting the headquarters as well as better business bureau.
The cleanliness of this hotel is beyond average. Staff was always helpful and really exceeded my expectations. The location is also a plus because it is very quiet but also very close to groceries and places to eat. I really recomend this hotel if you're planning to visit Hamlin Beach State Park and Rochester!
We were two couples biking part of the Erie Canal, staying overnight at motels about 20 to 25 miles apart. This Best Western seemed on paper like a good choice, and it was, except that the steep hill to get there from the canal was a challenge for a bicycle. (Obviously most guests don't worry about that.) The motel let us keep our bikes in our rooms, which we appreciated. The motel is back from the highway, and just slightly hard to find, but it was great not to be bothered with traffic noise. The rooms (and bathrooms) were of typical size and layout, and they were clean and comfortable. The complimentary breakfast was satisfactory, and typical of motel complimentary breakfasts. The staff were friendly. The rates were relatively inexpensive.
My kids wanted to go to the Strong Museum and we hit it big by choosing this hotel. The room was immaculate and modern. beds were comfy and soft. The air conditioner was quiet enough that I could sleep. There were 4 USB ports available to charge all of our devices. The shower pressure was better than in most hotels I've stayed in. There is no microwave in the rooms but one is available on the main floor. Free parking is provided. Their full hot breakfast provided a great selection of scrambled eggs, omelettes, sausages, hashbrowns, cereals, yogurts, muffins, and waffles which my kids loved. The most important part of our stay was the above-average guest service we received from the lady who served the breakfast and cooked extra sausages to the gentleman who gave my 2 sons balloons and filled them up to the general manager who helped me fix my son's watch, they went far above in providing great service making my kids happy and making us feel welcomed. They were simply awesome!!! The hotel is surrounded by a wooded area and open field which provides a quiet experience. It is only a 25 min drive into downtown Rochester. There is a Walmart around the corner if you need to pick up anything you need for your stay. I hope to book a stay at this hotel this summer when we come back to Rochester. Definitely consider this hotel!
Stayed 6 nights and 3 nights there was noise interrupting my sleep. Reservation and billing errors. Breakfast was fine but some days not much of a variety. Business Center closed down without notice and it was needed for my group event. Clean and comfortable rooms and friendly staff but some improvements can make this an excellent hotel
First time staying at this Best Western but we will be back. For fisherman this is the ultimate location. Courteous and professional staff. Newly renovated interior and exterior. Always felt that our business was valued. Clean and friendly environment. Well done Best Western Brockport!
The staff there were very kind and went out of their way to help us get breakfast even earlier than the scheduled setup time of 6am. They also gave us extra towels and soap. Overall they exceeded expectations. I will be back!
12 former players gathered to honor their coach on the 50 year SUNY at Brockport Baseball Championship Reunion. The accommodations and staff were top shelf. The entire weekend could not had gone better!
We had a very nice stay. This is our go to hotel when we are in Brockport. Centrally located. Near the college campus. Clean and the staff is very accommodating. If you need a place to stay this is the place.
This is a pet friendly hotel which is why I chose it when visiting the area for a cat show (with my cat). Very nice front desk clerk. Large-sized rooms with sitting area, microwave, refrigerator. There was a yapping dog across the hall from me and when I left for dinner, I mentioned it to the woman at the front desk. She said the owner had just left for a few minutes and she would go up and reassure the dog. FIXED—no more barking. Bed was comfortable; room seemed quite clean with tiled floor inside entry door before there was any carpeting. Unfortunately, as I was checking out the next morning, a gentleman was at the front desk complaining that his room was hopping with fleas and as soon as he walked in, they were all over him. He had some in a plastic bag. They didn't have a clean room to move him to right away and as he said, he would just be bringing the fleas into the new room. I don't know how this was resolved or what the hotel does (with our daily pet fee) to keep rooms and hallways flea-free. Of course, I sprayed my luggage with a cat-safe flea spray and dusted her up a bit too and then combed through her. I'm sure if my room had fleas, I would have had bites, as they love me. But, this is a warning if you treat your traveling pet with a monthly flea preventative…it won't keep fleas from jumping onto your dog or cat and biting them and it won't stop a dog from bringing fleas in from the ‘dog walking area.' It's going to take flea ‘bombs' to rid that first floor room of fleas.
Nice quiet and clean place. Stayed two nights and enjoyed it. Staff was very friendly, room was clean. Pros: Nice continental breakfast, friendly staff, room was clean, quiet area, a little bit of anything you need close by. Cons: Tub drained a little slow, and slight smell in the hallways. Overall this was a great hotel, don't hesitate to book a room here. Plenty of food, and grocery stores close by. I was pleased with my very reasonably priced rooms.
My husband, along with our golden retriever, stayed at the Brockport Best Western for a week and found staff to be very friendly, especially the woman who checked us in and the woman who prepared breakfast every morning. Our dog was made to feel welcome and given hugs and treats every day. The entire place was super clean and they even had a dog waste disposal area along with doggie waste bags just incase. The place was located in a nice, quiet area which also made our stay more pleasurable. Wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.
Even before our trip the front desk couldn't have been nicer answering my many questions - You see, we were a family of 4 riding the Erie Canal w bikes. Never once made us and our bikes feel unwelcome. Gave us a room on the 1st floor. Checking in was easy and smooth and hospitable. The beds felt like sleeping on clouds...I'm not even joking! The breakfast was so delish and the person handling that and the front desk was warm and such a lovely person. Couldn't ask for a better place to stay. Now if only the hotel wasn't 1 mile off the trail up a hill :) But to be fair...all the hotels are in the same area ...You won't be disappointed!
A newer motel located on a wooded lot. Very quiet room with a friendly staff. Plenty of food options nearby. Room was spotless. They are serving full breakfasts again. No face masks required at this time. Very minor problem with our door lock.
The hotel was clean and the staff was very helpful and attentive. The complimentary breakfast was very good and exceeded my expectations. We had no issues at this hotel whatsoever. It's location was well placed very near Brockport itself and near many restaurants and stores.
Liz was a God sent! I was having a tuff week and she quickly became a friend not a manager. The entire staff rocked! The rooms were amazing. Clean, cozy, warm and inviting. I would stay here again for sure.
Up for Christmas to visit the Family, and the place was very clean. Room cleaning was not everyday due to Chinese Covid, and was understandable. Breakfast was not the normal full deal either, they had pre made breakfast sandwich, coffee , juice, yogurt bread, fruit....... in fact I was surprised they even had it due to the Chinese Covid. I would recommend this Hotel to anyone.
We stayed two nights in Brockport for Thanksgiving. Knowing that this was newly remodeled and moved to a Best Western we had high hopes it would be nice even though it was our 1st time in a Best Western hotel in over 30 years.. We were not disappointed!!! The room was clean and very roomy. Had a small table and chairs that you could use to eat at. Morning breakfast was as good as I expected under the current "Covid situation". We stayed in room 214 and the only "odd thing" was that the bathroom faucet was "backwards". The hot and cold sides of the faucet were "reversed from normal", even the "Blue/Red sticker" on the faucet indicating Hot/Cold was not reflecting correctly. I'm not sure if this was just in our room or not but watch out for that as I wouldn't want someone to be surprised.
Very clean, neat, friendly. We slept so well! Very quiet heating unit, good sheets and pillows. Room size pretty large. Clean bathroom. We could not be more happier. Thank you for the great place and service.
We were biking along the Erie Canal Bike Trail from Buffalo to Albany, and we made advanced reservations to stay at this lovely hotel. All I can say is the staff was the best at this hotel and made my birthday extra special. I want to say thank you so much to Kim for arranging flowers, chocolate, and a card to help me celebrate. That has been one of the kindest things someone has done. Also, a huge thank you to Liz who set us up with the perfect room to accommodate both of our mountain bikes. You both went above and beyond to make our stay so memorable! We would stay here again in a heartbeat. The rooms were very nice and clean! All the best to you both!!
We travelled to Brockport to bring our daughter to college. The desk staff was exceptional from reservations to check in to check out. The rooms were very clean and the themed decor was very nice. We will definitely stay here again.
the staff is exceptional, the manager very kind. rooms are superb, very nice and clean. everything looked new. comfortable beds, big handicap bathroom, nice veiw, large hallway, air was cool.. nice size fridge, large microwave. plenty of light. during stay i had to move to another room.. tv remote bad. i beleive i should have gotten discount
I stayed two nights in Brockport to attend a Buffalo Bills game. Friends in the area questioned my decision but any misgivings were proven wrong. The room was clean and very roomy. Had a small table and chairs that you could use to eat at. Local delivery was available. Morning breakfast was satisfactory with scrambled eggs available. My only two complaints which are minor were the pillows (but I am very hard to please pillow wise) which were too fluffy and the hot water which was warm enough but never hot. The desk clerk was very helpful helping me find a good delivery option for dinner. Didn't get to any of the local sights as we were there to go to Buffalo. Would stay here again if the opportunity presented itself. Go Bills!
This is a summary from five visits so far in 2019, January-July. First, the people: Kim, Erin, and Daniel are the standouts here. They keep the place humming. Let their personalities be the example! They were especially sympathetic when two of my stays were related to a medical procedure. And, they shared my joy when the outcome was positive to my benefit! Second: The facility... I've noticed that some renovation work has been started. On one occasion, I was upgraded to a suite. It was indeed very nice. Alas, the homey corridor artwork has been removed. I realize it was the personal property of the former owner. However, I hope the post-renovation replacement is of a similar theme. Just because a hotel has corporate ownership doesn't mean that it has to be a "McHotel". The change from vending to a front desk "store" is a good one. Return of a monitor at the front desk with the weather forecast, breakfast menu, etc., would be welcome. Especially since the breakfast, with greater variety than before, has gone from the previous consistent day-to-day rotation while improving from the previous high standard. Improvements? An ADA-compliant entrance door would be appreciated by us senior citizens. Some of the carpets and furniture are getting a bit long-in-the-tooth. I hope these will be addressed in the renovation. An indoor hot tub would be nice. But, I don't think there's room for one! As it is, the new owners have acquired a good facility to begin their upgrading from. Summation: This is still Brockport's best hotel. The people I mentioned earlier are largely the reason why. Facilities can be identical from one hotel from another. Unfortunately, that sameness from Boston to Burbank can also lead to boredom. However, it's the people that make the difference. I hope the new owners are able to retain and attract employees in the style of Kim, Erin, and Daniel.
We have stayed here multiple times visiting family in the area. Very good location, with restaurants within walking distance, and stores within a mile or so. Quiet location, lawns/ponds on site. Helpful staff.
My fiancee (now wife!) and I stayed at the Dollinger's Inn for the week leading up to our wedding. There were a few hiccups with the computer system and our reservation got lost. We were upset, but the staff bent over backwards to make sure we were able to get everything figured out. The staff here are amazing. They felt like family by the time we left. Daniel, specifically, helped me calm my nerves on the morning of my wedding and, on numerous occasions, helped us fix any problems we were having. Erin greeted us with a huge "Congratulations!" when we got back just after being married and was incredibly friendly. Liz made sure everything was set for the accommodations for the rest of our wedding party and had a bright and helpful demeanor. Nancy, who took care of cleaning our room, was respectful and gracious - offering us extra towels when we thought we might need them and cheerfully welcoming us to New York (we're from out of state). The room itself is a clean, normal hotel room with Wifi and a TV. Didn't really need much more than that. The staff, however, is what makes me give this place a 5 star rating - exceptional people. Thank you Daniel, Erin, Liz, and Nancy. We appreciate how kind you were helping us into our newly married life!
At 2PM the manager came to rooms(we had 3)and scolded us saying we were banging and loud.10 people are getting ready for a wake and there would be noise while people are showering and dressing!Disgusted
