I was a guest in 12/23 and 12/24. The man at the front desk watched security camera's during his shift at night, and sent online messages to my acquaintances letting them know who was visiting me and their description. Very unprofessional.
This hotel is extremely clean. The breakfast was wonderful. The front desk was customer service was fantastic. Cleaning crew was spot on. The hotel manager was extremely knowledgeable and made sure our stay was perfect!!
Very basic room, not furnished with typical hotel style furniture, but clean and had all the necessary amenities. Hopefully the pool will be open soon. And I had to leave too early to try the breakfast.
Time to register my child for college & the drive being a good distance we decided to spend it at the Best Western Wilderness Trail Inn, Barbourville, KY. Check in was easy, had complimentary coffee, hot chocolate & cookies, rooms were very clean (I was very happy with the cleanliness), rooms had everything we needed. Outside was very clean as well. Internet was great. Provided breakfast which was very filling. There was a variety to choose from and stocked well. Small area for seating, so we ate in our rooms. Only downfall is the noise coming from the highway when you're trying to sleep. The night we were there the police decided to set a police trap, so we heard a siren often, but Best Western did provide ear plugs, so I feel they do think of their customers. I can only say this because we were on the front side of the hotel. Check out was a breeze. Very nice staff. All & all we were very satisfied with our stay.
Extremely low commodes that are very difficult for senior citizens to use. Only one washcloth for each person. Aging motel needs a renovation. Breakfast menu below par. Motel is within feet of Hwy 25E and heavy traffic all night long limits sleep.
We wanted to spend a night in the mountains after a day a travel, mostly through. Tennessee. The property is nestled along a creek, and though things are not in full bloom yet, it was very nice . We asked for diner recommendations, and were sent to a Mexican restaurant. A bit skeptical since we are from Texas, but food and service were excellent
The room smelled like cigarettes, the bedding was dingy and looked like someone had laying on it. The bed skirt was covered in dust and the entire room was covered in dust. The electricity was out for an hour on Sunday morning while we were trying to shower. We were in the complete dark. My husband had to shine our vehicle headlights into the room window for light so we could see. This apparently was a scheduled maintenance electric outage and the front desk NEVER notified us that it was going to be happening when we arrived to check in!!! Also, I had an allergic reaction to the dust and cigarette smoke residue.
Check in was wonderfully helpful and pleasant. We were in handicapp room and cleaning lady offered to help me with luggage since my husband was unable. Breakfast did not appeal to us because we would like fresh scrambled eggs and fruit and oatmeal.
Family reunion Was being held in Barbourville , Kentucky. Kentucky is a beautiful state. My family and I grew up there. At least half of us have moved away from that area. I come back to the beautiful mountains and the people that I love On an average of 2 to 3 months. I have stayed from London, Kentucky to Barbourville, Kentucky. And I always try to book your hotel. That is our designated meeting area from Harlan, Kentucky and Knoxville, Tennessee.
We was on a Mission trip. We came two night earlier to check out the area before our group got to that area to work out of the Bible Baptist College where the volunteers will stay for a week while working. We had to have a hotel for the two nights. Was some traffic noise but after a while at night you didn't pay it any attention.. They provided ear plugs if it did bother you. Friendly helpful staff.
This motel is one of the best we have been too. I really enjoyed the time there the employees were the best. Good location for shopping and eating. I felt this was one of our best traveling experience
We needed a place to spend the night near Barbourville. The staff had great local recommendations and provided excellent service. This Motel is right on the highway and is easy to get to. Because it is right on the road you can hear road noise in some of the rooms, which didn't bother us a bit and actually was a relief because a huge ice storm was threatening the area and we were relieved to wake up in the morning and hear that the roads were still being traveled. The room included earplugs for snoring/lightsleepers which we thought was a nice touch. The breakfast had everything that more expensive hotel properties have (eggs, meats, yogurt, waffle maker), except maybe cut fruit. That made it a great value and time saver for us. The room was a comfortable motel room, not a stylish hotel suite. The stars are for a motel experience.
Older hotel but very clean, super friendly staff who handled a large group like champions. Ice machines didnt work but only complaint. Breakfast was good, large selection. Parking lot well lit and clean.
The hotel far exceeded my expectations. The breakfast was wonderful. The meatballs were awesome. My daughter loved the waffles and hot chocolate. Their coffee was great. The room was clean and very big. The staff was very nice. We will stay again when we are in the area.
The room I was given was the wrong room at first, but the clerk that checked me in was super professional about it and made it right. It actually wasn't her fault, it was Orbitz. She made it right! Awesome service! Very happy customer. Will come back again!!
this was a stopover on the way back from Tennessee to Ohio after riding motorcycles for 6 hrs this was a welcome break. the hospitality from your staff was excellent, the rooms were comfortable.and clean
Clean rooms and grounds, great beds and shower, delicious coffee, and great staff! The little outdoor sitting areas and outdoor pool were much needed after a long drive! Will definitely stay here again!!
Pretty good rate for 1 nite... the staff was awesome. the decor was comfortable and we enjoy 1st floor back up to the door kind of places. The back was as Front desk advised-- quiet and tree lined. Good quality Micro-FRIDGE too.
The staff is amazing. You don't get service like that much anymore it seems. The rooms are a little dated but some updates have been made. Beds were comfortable. Room was clean. I would suggest that you request a room on the backside of the hotel bc it was much quieter than our friends rooms in the front. Coffee in the lobby was good. I didn't make it to breakfast but the kids loved it. If I ever find myself in the area I would certainly stay again.
The able in my room had cup rings left on it. Bath tub had some kind of blue stuff on bottom, once i ran the shower it washed away. Was told Breakfast was at 6 but nothing was there. They gave you ear plugs because traffic noise is loud.
My daughter was attending a female wrestling camp over the weekend. This hotel was the one that was recommended for us to stay at. Very friendly staff all around nice place to stay. Have a few maintenance issues with the stairs closest to the office and pool. Other then that this was a very convenient and nice sage hotel to stay at.
Like the old saying goes if you don't have anything nice to say don't say anything at all. I've never stayed at a hotel that offers it's guests earplugs in their room to fall asleep with . The toilet is too low to the floor. No comforter on bed . Bare bones not worth the $124.00 paid if you ask me
I found the room to be very clean and sanitized, which during this point in time is very important. The staff was friendly and very helpful. I would recommend this hotel. I have stayed there twice and found the cleanliness to be very consistent.
Motorcycle adventure. easy access location. Good restaurants in the area. Everyone very nice. Would come here again. Staff very helpful and friendly. A lot of good roads near by. Clean pool. Grill out back.
Very impressed with the cleanliness and upkeep of this location. The front desk team very attentive and helpful. Even in these Covid-19 times. The exterior maintenance and ground keeping made for a very peaceful surrounding. The room was spotless no streaks on mirrors, crisp linens, not even a corner cobweb
I had a power outage and needed a room for at least a night as I wanted to potentially work and get a hot shower, connect to social media for a little bit. I had no other choice for hotels as BW was the only option in this small town. I was completely thrilled that my only option was such a pleasant one! Very friendly staff, accommodating, clean updated rooms. Only complaint would be size of pillows. Definitely not enough pillow action going on. Fortunately, I always have my own!
Room was clean and well equipped. I would advise that you book your room so you will be located at the back of the hotel to get away from the noise coming from the highway in front of the hotel. The breakfast area is small, but the food was good.
We always enjoy our stay at the Best Western Wilderness Trail. The staff are always helpful and very friendly no matter what time you call or show up. The rooms have been renovated and are very clean.
Stayed overnight for the Daniel Boone Festival, just hubby and myself. Front desk staff was so kind and welcoming both when I called originally and during check in. Room was large, clean, and comfy! The king bed was unbelievably comfortable. The room has a mini fridge and microwave which helped us out for dinner since we got back so late. They even had complementary ear plugs for light sleepers because they are near a road. However we didn't even need them because there was very little noise. We slept very well, had some of their wide selection continental breakfast, and was on our way - but not before I stopped in at the front to let them know we'd enjoyed our stay and say goodbye to some rather nice folks.
Nice hotel and friendly staff. This hotel was centrally located to what we was doing the next day. It was nice and clean. Small breakfast choices, but overall was a great hotel. Will use this hotel again when traveling that way.
Everyone from the front desk staff to cleaners are friendly, courteous and helpful. They go above and beyond to be welcoming and seek to meet the needs of their guests. It was a good place to stay for a week of business travel.
Absolutely the cleaniest motel we have ever stayed in!!!! And the staff is very helpful and friendly! The breakfast is good !!! The price is very reasonable!! A very well kept establish inside and out!
Checked in at Best Western for my nephew graduation from Union College. Go Bulldogs! Best Western was close to Union College and restaurants within driving distance. Location was easy to find great location off the main highway. Clean exterior of building
We have stayed at the Best Western in Barbourville 9 times in the past 4 years. Each time we were very pleased with our stay. The hotel is clean and well appointed, the staff is very helpful and friendly. This is the closest hotel to where our family live so each stay was several days and we were always impressed by the cleanliness of the facility and the way that the staff goes out of their way to make our stay enjoyable.
Have stayed here previously and it was just as nice the second time. Rooms are very spacious and well maintained. Staff is very friendly and the complimentary breakfast was wonderful. Close proximity to the Cumberland Falls.
Clean rooms non smoking was not smelly, last 2 rooms left, Great front desk service.Ample breakfast clean surroundings.Dont speed in the town very highly watched impressed with the number pulled over, good presence
Stayed at this hotel for a visit to Union College which is a convenient location. The room was very clean & the beds are very comfortable. We needed to check out a day earlier due to the weather & the staff at the front desk were so helpful in helping us make our decision. We would definitely choose to stay at this hotel again.
This hotel has a very hospitable staff who is very kind and pleasant to talk with. The hotel itself is just ok. It serves the purpose for a place to sleep overnight. The furniture, decor, flooring and bedding need some improvements but overall it would serve your need.
Th e beds were very comfortable for double beds. We were in town for a college Archery Competition, the Best Western Wilderness Inn was very convenient to Union College. We needed a laundry for the uniforms and the clerk was very helpful to give me directions to the local laundromat.
Comfortable beds and clean rooms. It was a great experience and we will continue staying here in lieu of driving to Corbin, 13 miles away, when visiting Union College. This is a different hotel than it was two years ago. Disappointed that it was a little over $100/night but it is the only hotel in Barbourville.
This hotel is 2 story, opening outside doors about 1/2 smoking (back side) and 1/2 non-smoking(facing the road). We asked for quiet, non-smoking, first floor. We got a very smoking room, facing away from the road, first floor. Well, NON-smoking was the most important item. So even checking in early they only had a 2nd floor non room. It was clean and spacious. The desk clerk was nice when I came back and said that room is on the smoking side and THE most important part of our needs. They have a very small room for a very basic breakfast. The nicest part was the outdoor pool and area. There was some traffic noise from the road but the AC ran well and filtered most of it.
Wreaked of cigarette smoke, first room listed as non smoking asked for a second it was worse, I guess it was a smoking room. Desk clerk said they had just changed some rooms. Did not stay. The attendant knew we were looking for a non smoking room, so not sure he would choose another room which was worse than the first, which was supposedly non smoking. The loony smelled of smoke, which he blamed was coming from the people at the pool.
I was recently in the area for work and this is the only hotel around. Check in was quick and easy. Room was very spacious. Furnishings were a bit outdated but I have stayed in far worse. Shower was great with lots of pressure and hot water. Pool area looked clean and well kept. I would stay again if I am in the area. Some fast food places around but dining options are limited.
Super clean! The staff are always nice and friendly and the Manager will go out of her way to help in any way possible! The staff was able to answer any and all question and if they weren't sure they would be sure to get the information!
For a place with outside facing doors it was very nice. Rooms were quite large and AC was quiet and did a great job keeping the room cool. Very clean and appropriately stocked with bathroom supplies. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Recommended.
Overall, we were very satisfied with our two night stay. The room was clean and everything in the room worked. The staff were friendly and helpful. It would have been better if they offered a hot meal at breakfast in addition to the continental breakfast.
Great place to stay, everyone was very helpful and pleasant to be around. Even the other guest were nice. the personal helped when I needed directions. I will be back later this year and will definitely stay here in Barbourville KY.
I always chose to stay here when working close to this area. The staff are always welcoming. Rooms are clean and bed is comfortable. The location of this facility makes it easy for me when working a 50 mile radius.
Wonderful hotel with pleasant staff. Room and reservations were correct. Staff were interested to be sure that we has a good check in. They called a few minutes after check in to make sure that we were comfortable. The room was clean with a microwave and a refrigerator that had a freezer compartment that actually worked. Breakfast served good food and drink breakfast,
The staff was very friendly and made sure that we had everything that we needed. Breakfast was provided which is a perk when you have hungry children! The housekeeping staff was amazing they went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable!
The staff was absolutely AMAZING! My child attends a private school, so he had to go to school regardless of the weather! We were flooded out and the place was amazing! Breakfast was great and the place was so clean!!
Affordable, clean and pleasant! I would recommend this place to friends and family. The bed was comfortable, and the hot tub was pleasant. My room was non smoking and smelled very clean. The staff was friendly, and the breakfast was simple but fine.
Noisy highway is a bit annoying but it's not a bad option considering the rural location. They do provide ear plugs to compensate for the noise but who really wants to do that.. I'm not sure what other options are in the area.
Stayed here many times and room is always clean and comfortable. Staff is always helpful and friendly. Easy access to 25E, restaurants and Wal-Mart. Have stayed here in July and used the outdoor pool. Also enjoyed the free local news papers.
Nice clean hotel, with very courteous and helpful staff. Would definitely stay again, and would recommend to others. Good continental breakfast items in addition to hot waffles and microwaveable entrees.
Have stayed at this location more than 5 times and have NEVER been disappointed...The Hotel Clerks go out of their way to make sure you are comfortable ..and are available if you need them for anything..
my college is located here and i come back for homecoming. i always stay here because it is convenient, clean, nice features and helpful staff. wouldn't stay anywhere else. i look forward to returning next year.
'this was a very lean Hotel, the staff was courteous, and they had a nice outdoor area around the rear of the hotel with benches to sit on away from the traffic. I would stay here again. Our room was on the road side which was a little bit noisy when we slept but they did provide ear plugs for us.
My husband and I were visiting this area of Kentucky with friends for a few days, and this BW was in a good central location for us. The staff were friendly and eager to help, our rooms were clean, and the beds were comfortable with good pillows. The shower was also good with lots of hot water. The breakfast area was clean but very small. The selection was pretty limited compared some of the BW locations - yogurt, instant oatmeal, juices, milk, boiled eggs, the make-your-own-waffles as well as bagels and toast. A sign over the microwave indicates that an additional item is available by asking for it at the front desk. We did this one morning and it was a pretty good microwavable Jimmy Dean sausage, egg and cheese biscuit. We experienced no problems with the WiFi while we were there. Just a couple of notes. If you have mobility issues at all, you might need to request a handicap accessible room as our toilet was not much higher than in a kindergarten classroom. If one has bad knees, it would be a bit of a challenge to get up and down. Our only other issue was our 2nd night. Our bathroom had a very strong smell of cigarette smoke when we came in for the night, even though ours was a non-smoking room. I called the front desk and James said the room above us was a smoking room and sometimes when they smoke on the balcony, the smoke will drift down to the first floor??? When we turned on the a/c and the fan in the bathroom, it finally cleared out, but keep that in mind if you are sensitive to cigarette smoke. We were in room 105. We would stay here again if back in the area and recommend you give it a try if you are looking for a basic, clean hotel in the area.
We were very pleased with the appearance of the hotel, and our room. Very clean and well maintained. Convenient to Union College, where our grandson goes to school. Nice folks who work here, from reservations on down...we will be staying again.
We have stayed here several times and it is a nice place. Sometimes we have minor things like water pressure in our bathroom that isn't what we would like. The wifi internet here is absolutely atrocious. But the area this is in being located in the Appalachians is like that pretty much everywhere around. The continental breakfast is good. The staff is normally nice and helpful. The rooms are always very clean. Some have been updated more than others but they seem to be making improvements all the time. I would recommend this to anyone. If you want to stay somewhere close to Union College, this is your best bet. Pretty much the only place right in Barbourville, KY.
We had been travelling all week and this was by far the cleanest and nicest hotel that we stayed in. Staff was super nice! The rooms were in good shape, but we were told that the carpet and furniture was going to be replaced soon. They had fresh paint and exterior décor. Pool looked fabulous, even though we did not use it. Breakfast was really nice with extra touches.
On a highway in a small Appalachian town is not where it is easy to find a nice place to stay. Like most Best Westerns, this one is nicely maintained. With excellent access, great location, nice staff and well appointed rooms, you can't go wrong. The pool is very well maintained, but outside. Parking is great for extra large vehicles or the average car. The only negative I could find is the all the rooms have exterior doors. This increases the noise as other come and go, but overall it was very quiet. For its location, amenities, cost and service, you would have to drive a while to find better.
Visited Best Western Wilderness Trail Inn in August of 2017 have stayed here often. Employees are always very friendly and the inn is very comfortable. Will be returning soon you should too.Only thing missing is hottub
Clean and recently updated. Very pretty landscaping, The Staff were all very courteous and helpful. The hotel is a prime example of typical KY hospitality - I love the KY residents and their culture!!!! It is always good to return the KY state to visit all my relatives. Don't miss the Cumberland Falls Moonbow!
We had a very good experience staying at the Best Western in Barbourville, KY. We didn't use too many of the amenities, but they were available. We did get ice in the morning. We enjoyed that there was a recliner in the room.
As the rating states 3. No issues with the staff. The room was basic and clean. The staff is friendly. No issues. It's a two level hotel. We were on the first floor on the highway side. We were warned about the traffic noise. There is noise but at 3am we fell asleep rights away. We could hear the traffic in the morning no big deal. It's w*s an over night stay and was perfect for us. The other couple was at the back of the hotel and heard nothing. We were call the day before our arrive and we had both our rooms upgraded to king rooms. I would stay again for an over night stay. It's about 20 Min's from I75. But we were going in that direction. Not a bad place to stay if you are in the area.
Our baseball team and their families stayed at this hotel for a State All Star Tournament. We needed a hotel, with a pool and complimentary breakfast. This place was perfect. It was a huge place, it was very clean and the staff were great. The pool area was perfect for the group to hang out at night and order in food for our large group.
We have our family reunion every other year in Kentucky. Our family has been staying at this hotel for a lot of years. They have very friendly employees, the room & pool were very clean. They have vending machines & ice machine on both levels
We stayed one night at this property and it was a great stay. Our room was spacious, the staff were all very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was really good. The lady who checked us in told me that they served biscuits with sausage, egg and cheese, so the next morning I asked the lady who was working in the breakfast area for two of their biscuits. She went to the back area and brought me two Jimmy Dean biscuits, and she told me how long to microwave them. They were really good. We would stay here again if in the area.
We have stayed at this location several times and have always been pleased with the room, staff , ect...The front desk go above and beyond to make sure your stay is pleasant.. We love stopping on our way thru..
I stay here annually for a family reunion. Usually we have about 10 or more rooms for this event. The location is perfect for us. The service is always great. Hotel is clean. Pool is adequate. The staff is always smiling and always helpful. Nancy has become like a friend to us. We look forward to seeing her every year as well.
We were in town for the local BBQ competition - we were concerned that because Barbourville is a small town that the quality of the hotel would not be very good. We were certainly wrong! Very nice staff, hotel was really well maintained, and the city is really charming. It made for a wonderful stay - we look forward to being back next year!!
good location to funeral home. hotel staff very helpful . good directions for food, food was good. would not stay at this motel again.parking lot and stairs where muddy due to construction trucks and workers
The staff were very helpful !! The appearance of the hotel was very nice the rooms were great ,,,!!!! The comfort of the beds for outstanding '!!! The cleaning staff done a great job every morning the food was excellent
The Best Western Wilderness Trail Inn in Barbourville, Kentucky provides a friendly staff, well kept rooms, and a well managed hotel for vacation in the area or for Business in the area. If you need assistance, just ask at the front desk--help on the internet, directions, restaurant recommendations, etc.
Very nice for a motel . Fast check in . With gap under door did find a few ants that got in everything else was good for being a motel . I used a direct bill credit card, like CLC. CLC stays do not get reward points at this location like they've do at others , So No I won't be staying again .rewards points are by stays not by dollar amount.
This is a great place to stay. The staff are top notch. Rooms are comfortable. This place has a family feel to it. I have stayed there many times to attend events and meetings at Union College. I am always pleased with the service and would recommend this place. if you want a reasonably priced, friendly atmosphere. I can think of no where else I would rather stay in the area.
We had a great two night stay last weekend (4-14 & 4-15-2017). Rooms are being remodeled. Everything was clean and the new pillows are the best! Complimentary breakfast each say includes fruit, danish, cereal and make your own waffles. There is an area behind the hotel to use for grilling out and just sitting and enjoying the foothill forest. This is the only hotel in Barbourville, so you need to book early for the Daniel Boone festival. The staff was great and we will definitely stay here again when we come to visit.
Attended Union College Preview Day and this was our only choice. Front desk manager was nice and professional, complimentary breakfast was good and outside entrance to room was convenient. Over-priced ($99/night) based n the quality of the room but they are the only hotel in town.
I stayed at the Best Western Bourberville KY. At check in the price was over $100.00 with tax and no discounts. I used my points, 16,000. I am a diamond member for many years, they could not find me in the computer. I had to call the 800 number. While on the phone she found me in their computer. The bed was extremely firm, WiFi worked good, decent breakfast with very firm chairs. Room walls are thin, you can hear your neighbors. As a diamond member I have stayed at many Best Westerns, this 1 is over priced and over rated for having no events in the area during my stay and not much around the area to do. There are a few fast food restaurants near the property.
Great hotel in a town with lots of places to eat. The rooms were large and clean. The front desk staff was great at check in and check out. It is a little pricey for a hotel with no inner corridor but they are the only hotel in town. We paid $100.00 for a Saturday night stay. I would recommend this hotel.
Best Western in Barbourville may not be extremely luxurious, but it has everything you need. That makes is above others is the individual personal service that the staff provide to you. They are SOOOO NICE! They give a courtesy call to your room after you check in to make sure everything is okay with your room or if you need anything. The continental breakfast is good with the BEST COFFEE ... very good! Every single staff member treated me like I was family staying in there own home ... so wonderful! I'll be going back there again!
The hotel staff were more then accommodating, when upon discovering I had forgotten an item one of the managers actually went to a local store and picked the item up for me and brought it to my room the next day....that's what I call service....beyond what is required....
Having a child attending Union College in Barbourville, we have spent many a night at this hotel. They know us by name. I can't say enough good things about this hotel. Would be nice if it was a little more economical, but they do not skimp on the amenities.
I would definitely stay at this Best Western and others when I may need a room in the future. Helpful staff and very clean rooms. I would recommend this hotel to anyone traveling whether it be business or pleasure as one of the Best hotels to visit.
Stayed here about a year ago and not much has changed. Nice facility but would recommend that you request a room in the back of the building as the front faces a 4 lane and if you are a light sleeper you may have problems.Traffic noise doesn't bother me. Grounds are very well kept and the staff is very friendly. They call 15 minutes after check-in to make sure the room is satisfactory. I'll stay here again. Best Western is always the best value....and no, I don't work for them. Lots and lots of parking. I pull a Harley on a trailer and there is ample room for both. Motel is Biker-Friendly.
This is an excellent stop over for Business or Vacation...The Front Staff was wonderful / checking in and out...The room was clean and the beds were Very clean...The breakfast was good..I would give Best Western at this location 5 Stars...
I highly recommend this hotel to anyone. It's surrounded by beautiful trees. Very clean and well kept. Due to great General Manager, Tammy Bruce and her right hand lady, Jennifer. They were very informative about the area and very sweet. Made us feel welcome and at home. Thanks Tammy and Jennifer!! Wayne and Lori, Texas Full Circle Services, LLC
Wasn't expecting much, but this hotel was very nice. Staff was professional and friendly. Clean, comfortable rooms. Breakfast pretty standard for continental, but was laid out nicely and area clean. The breakfast area was a bit small, so it got crowded in there. There was an outdoor pool but we didn't use it, just a quick overnight.
Very clean, nice place to stay when out on a family hiking trip. The pool was very well kept and relaxing on a hot day. The only drawback would be the small room for the continental breakfast. There are several fast food places in the town but we did not find a real sit-down restaurant nearby.
Our first stop on the way out of Kentucky. The staff at this hotel were super nice. The rooms were comfortable, everything was in order and clean. It was close to restaraunts and shopping center. It made our couple days very enjoyable.
After driving all day through 5 states, I showed up in their lobby at 10pm. The clerk at the front desk worked hard to get us the best rate possible and to get the two rooms for our family next to each other. The rooms were great. They gave us extra towels when we needed them. There was something for each of our kids to adore at breakfast. We couldn't have been more happy to stay here.
The Best Western Wilderness Inn in Barbourville KY is an excellent choice for you stay in the Cumberland Gap area of Kentucky. The motel is very clean and has a very nice appearance inside and out. The bed was firm and provide a good nights sleep. The employees were "down home" friendly and helpful. This motel was an excellent value.
This hotel is a great stopping point. The staff is very friendly and goes out of their way to help. Breakfast is basic, but good. Coffee is available all day. :) Pool is clean. Stores and restaurants are nearby. The only downside is the noise for the rooms on the front. If possible, ask for a room in back.
This a fabulous hotel. Very clean inside and out. Had a big parking lot for my 26 ft truck. Professional staff and very welcoming interior. I traveled 2700 miles and this was the 1st stop and I made a good choice
Basic room. Not a lot of amenities but this is Barbourville, KY - not exactly a resort destination. Very serviceable, clean, decent room just don't expect more than place to sleep, a hot shower and a waffle in the morning.
During a stay in April of 2016 I inquired about the rate for a one night stay. I was told that it was a race weekend (a race at Bristol Speedway) and that the rate would be lower for my upcoming stay in May. When I checked out in May, the rate was even higher! The desk clerk told me they had no control over the rates. I told the desk clerk, "liar, liar, pants on fire!" I don't appreciate people who take advantage of me. I probably will NOT stay at the Best Western Wilderness Trail Inn on future visits to Barbourville, KY.
We have been coming here for the past 4 years while our daughter was in college. We have never had a bad experience. It is always clean, everyone is always friendly and helpful. Have stayed her many times.
I was very glad this hotel was near Union College. It was convenient. I enjoyed all of the staff, and my room was comfortable and clean. I visited several outdoor activities during my trip. The city was interesting. I bicycled 70 miles with a group at Union College. Very good place to bicycle. Nice hiking, too. Many food options. Town had shops to visit. The visitors bureau went out of their way to help me. I had great interactions with everyone. Room was clean. Had a microwave and refrigerator. Everything was comfortable.
I was very pleased to find this motel so close to my business assignment. While checking in the clerk (Violet) was very helpful in getting me everything I needed for my stay. She even made a fresh pot of coffee and called my room to let me know it was ready. This was my first time being away from home , but she made me feel safe and right at home.
The best, the staff, the hotel, the experience, the town, everything about it was 5 star. I have two boys at Union college and this is the last year for us. We feel like this has become our home from the first time we stayed in Barbourville. I wish I could move to Barbourville. I have not met a nicer group of people. I have not met an unfriendly person in this town
Took a bit of a detour on my way to Florida - went through many small towns in Kentucky, with Barbourville as my destination - and a reservation at this hotel. From outside the hotel is quite attractive - the lobby was fairly standard but well kept. Customer service from the staff (checking in AND out) was exceptional. Very helpful and provided lots of information about the local area, and how to travel further south, avoiding the highway. I had a room at the back, and although the furnishings are dated, it was spotlessly clean, comfortable and quiet. Lots of hot water with good pressure, microwave and fridge. Everything I could want after a long, tiring day. WiFi worked perfectly. I would highly recommend this hotel.
Needed a place to stay that was easy on, easy off of the highway as we made our way east to the coast. You always know what to expect from a Best Western so these seemed a good choice. It was basic and comfy. The breakfast was dismal- a few stale bread, sweet bun choices, some tired looking fruit. We passed on breakfast. Maybe a busier time of year would have better choices. Staff was friendly and accommodating.
We just needed a place to sleep, so did not want to spend more than we had to for just a bed. The staff, lobby and breakfast were great. Breakfast area is small, but well stocked. It was fine for us, but hope that they do get new and bigger beds before we stay here again. I felt safe here. There are no indoor corridors, which did not bother me. I like being able to go straight to my room. I felt like I got a good deal.
Smalll property that may not be a 4 star facility but the entire staff went out of their way to make us feel important. Very welcoming, clean and comfortable. Would not consider staying anywhere us in the area. Manager served me coffee. Can't get that type of service at many businesses.
Our room was very plain and I noticed right away that there were ear plugs on the bedstand. Found out very quickly why. Noise levels from outside were really loud. Breakfast was lacking choices. On the plus side the staff were great and even called to make sure 2 ask if we needed anything. Probably would not choose this location again. If u go, at least ask 4 a room in the back to help with the noise.
I hadn't stayed at a Best Western for many years and have always looked for other hotels however after staying at this location my perception has changed. This hotel was modern, clean, super friendly and helpful staff and the food was great. To top it off the price was excellent. Don't pass this hotel by if you are in the areas and need a good place to stay.
The room was so comfortable. The heating system was so comfortable and not noisy. Great water pressure. The rate of the hotel was reasonable for our purpose. It was just down the road from family so very convenient.
The staff is so friendly and helpful. The rooms were very comfortable, spacious, and clean. Many hotels will not accommodate pets but we were able to bring our little dog with us. Five dog biscuit rating for sure! :)
Excellent place to stay. Staff were very friendly and helpful Best Western was located close to shopping and places to eat. I go to Barbourville twice a year to visit a old Air Force veteran so the Hotel is close to his place. Very pleasant place to visit.
Being as we got up early, the things we wanted to do were not open and didn't want to wait 3 hours so we left Wise Va and headed toward Cumberland Gap ,then on to Barboursville. What made this motel great was that the clerk actually knew the town we live in as she had relatives who only lived about 40 mile from us and drove through it on her way to another town to see friends. The motel was nice and all was clean. The Breakfast wasn't as much as usual and had a real small area to eat in ,but we are early risers so we only had one other person there at the time.
It just so happened that one of the gals at the checkin counter knew exactly the town we live in as she has relatives living in our town and friends who live in the area close by. The stay was great. I just wish the motels would replace their toilets with the higher models as i feel like i am setting on the ground and have a hard time getting up off them
This is the second time we have stayed at this Best Western and they treat you like family every time. We had a small issue with our air conditioner and it was replaced very quickly. Rooms were clean and quiet.
The staff was awesome! They were very helpful and friendly. If I wanted to get something from the breakfast bar after it was closed, they were very accommodating. The room was clean and comfortable. It was one of the best nights sleep I had gotten in a long time.
Commode sets about 6" from floor making it difficult to get up after sitting...man's private parts actually touch the interior of commode when sitting on commode. Stingy with bath towels - only 2 washcloths! Uncomfortable mattress and dingy-looking bed covers.
We have been staying at this Best Western ever since I can remember and we still love it. The employees are very friendly, Nancy is our personal favorite :-) We have never had a bad experience and cannot wait for our next trip! The rooms are always clean, well maintained and to make things even better, it is the quietest hotel we have ever stayed in.
The Hotel staff was quite helpful and efficient. The outside of the Hotel could use some TLC. The room appeared to be retro 1970's. On the nightstand were a pair of foam earplugs provided by the Hotel. Now I know why; very noisy at night from the adjacent highway.
The staff was excellent, the rooms exceptional clean, and the best mattress experience I have ever had in a hotel. If you are staying in or near Barbourville, KY, I highly recommend this Best Western.
