Resumen de la reserva
Staff with limited to no social skills, entire place smelled of cheap mind numbing floor cleaner to cover up cigarette smoke and animal stench. Rooms not cleaned: dirty used toilet paper in the toilet, wet towels on sinks, floors, and on shower rod, soap bars open and used, bed clothes laid on and not cleaned. Generally a loud and unkempt hotel. Payed a premium price for a sub par room and experience.
Having lived in placerville for 40 years I can honestly say this is the best available in the area. There are pet friendly rooms. The best complimentary breakfast is the hotel in Cameron Park right off hwy 50. But for safety id recommend placerville or further up hwy 50 East to the Pollock Pines exit BEFORE SLY PARK EXIT. GO left turn right at the gas station and the newest hotel in the area is on the left after a bit. I fled the political BS in 2019 and had to come back to help family. California can kiss my ass.
hotel is just okay. Definitely expensive for the quality of rooms and bathrooms. Feels like 1978 called and is asking for their decor back
Shower would not activate properly and the temp was not easily adjusted. Breakfast was bad, poorly cooked, under supplied. Broken individual serving coffee machine. Beds were awful.
In general, the room was sadly in need of an upgrade. The bathroom, especially, needed new tile and better plumbing. I could not turn the shower faucet on or off. My husband could barely budge it, even after wrapping it in a washcloth for a better grip. When he did turn it on, the water was just slightly tepid, definitely not hot. So that was terrible! The coffeemaker and supplies were set next to the lavatory, which was gross and left no room for our toiletries! The sink drain was strange—instead of moving up and down to open or close, it was permanently almost closed. Then I realized I could simply pop it off to let the water drain properly. There was a lot of noise all night, from highway traffic, the AC, and the fridge. The good parts: • The bed and pillows were very comfortable!! • I loved having a mini-fridge to store my own food. • The AC really cooled the room down quickly. • Though the free breakfast was the usual sad statement on Americans' poor diet choices, the “scrambled eggs” really did taste like eggs and were pretty good, plus freshly made and frequently replenished.
My sister and I stayed 4 nights. That was 4 nights too long. The room smelled, the carpet was gross, and we had very little parking. "NATES Tree Service" seemed to take up most of the parking with several trucks and chippers. When we were assigned a third floor room and realized NO ELEVATOR we were pretty disappointed as we are both in our 70"s. We had to ask for room service. We got two bath towels and 2 pods of coffee for our 4 night stay. When you enter the building you need a key....that would not work and eventually that same key would not work to our room. Then that same key would not work for the pool. The ice machine was broken on the third floor so another trip downstairs for ice. The cold water was hot and hot water was cold. It was constant going to the office for things we needed. We paid over $200.00 a night and have never been so disappointed.
Ants in the bathroom. Uncomfortable bed. No elevator. Broken items in the room. Unresponsive maid service. Multiple rounds of keycards not working. BUT they did have gluten free bagels for breakfast.
We stayed at this hotel due to a death in the family who lived in this area. At check in we arrived about 3 hours early. No rooms were available, however they said they would call us when the room was ready. We did NOT get a call, but we checked back about 1:40 PM (check in is 3:00 PM). The room was ready and we checked in at 1:40 PM. I usually close out my folio when i check out, but there was no one at the front desk at 6:00 AM on day of check out. There was no discloser of a $30.00 EARLY check in fee until we received our Folio the day after check out. Best Western billing said this is not a overall company policy to charge for early check in, but must be a local policy. Local Best Western said this is a overall company policy.
did not give us the room we booked then gave us a downgrade without enough space for all of our party and then called us five minutes into being in the room saying that they had to move us to a different room because they couldn't give us a bed for the extra people the room we had had refrigerator broken and it smelled horrible. Then we were in the pool area and they were a bunch of people smoking marijuana, we complain to the front desk about refunding us our money for the difference for the room and they told us that if we didn't want to take the room that it would be either leaving or taking the room they gave us
We stayed here for one night in our way to Lake Tahoe. We wanted to explore the American River area so my husband could go gold panning. The hotel is conveniently located right if the highway, and even though it room overlooked the highway, we couldn't hear any traffic noise. They have a nice pool area with a hot tub. The room was decent, with a fridge and microwave, and the bed was comfortable. They serve a hot breakfast in the morning, along with typical continental fare. There were sausage links, patties, and eggs, and the sausage was actually browned on the outside, not just flaccid and gray like most hotel breakfasts. There's also a Mexican restaurant right next door, if you don't feel like driving anywhere for dinner, but it is expensive (~$30 per person).
The lights pointed at our windows lit up the room all night even with the curtains close, huge cracks under the doors so you could see the hall light and hear everything and the smell of cigarettes was enough for us to know we will never stay here again. The staff was friendly.
Amazing service, Friendly and attentive staff, Outside is well kept and very clean room, well-done breakfast. Close to old town Placerville, Apple hill and any needed shopping. Restaurants aplenty 5 star rating
We stayed here for two nights on the lead up to Thanksgiving paying a whopping $250 per night. Given the cost we would have expected something pretty decent. This place is old and in dire need of updates. To be fair - the staff are friendly and nice and the room was clean. However - everything is old and patched together. The head-rests on the backs of the beds were stained from customers heads. Completely gross. The owners of this place need to put their hands in their pockets and do some updates to provide a fair experience for the prices they demand. I feel bad writing this review as the staff were nice, respectful, and working hard. But OWNERSHIP - please take note and invest in your property. It is out of date, old, and in DIRE NEED of updates.
Very good hotel and staff at Best Western Placerville when we visited Apple Hill. I had a problem at check-in with being charged a pet fee for service dog. I was careful to be courteous but said charging for a service dog is illegal. She still charged. At breakfast the next morning Tracey at the front desk was surprised and immediately removed the charge without me needing to ask. She was kind, friendly, and we swapped service dog stories! Breakfast was very good and staff friendly. Hotel room, halls and grounds were spotless. Dog friendly too. This is my second stay here in as many years. I will definitely book here again. Right price, staff, and comfortable room. Thanks Tracey & BW.
No hot water in the morning. No USB ports, very few available electric outlets. Beds are lumpy and noisy. Staff checked me into a room that already had sleeping people in it. Avoid this place at all cost
The carpet in the halls of this hotel are very dirty, which I visualized right after I checked in and was heading to my room. Yes this hotel is old but carpets can be shampooed or replaced. My room was not filthy but definitely suffered from deferred maintenance. It was expensive to stay here also but what I found really disgusting was the bathroom in the breakfast area…there was urine all over the toilet and it was downright filthy so filthy that even if you really need to use it DON'T…that's how bad it was! Years ago Best Western gave me a price for a hotel room, then when I arrived told me it would cost more, right then I vowed I'd never stay in another Best Western, this visit shows me yet again that this is not the hotel chain for me and I mean it this time, never ever again!
I stayed to get out of the heat. 3 days gave me time to rest and have the grandkids over to enjoy the pool. Took full advantage of the pool and complimentary breakfast.... and AC! I live in the area but don't have ac at home. when the weather is over 105 I'll most likely stay there again.
Over all the property is well maintained. I was glad to see the rugs had been replaced by tile flooring that is easier to clean. However there was an issue with the bedding. I had over 100 bug bites that i believe to be flea bites. I told the front desk as well as calling the hotel when we returned a few days later from our road trip. I received no response. The hotel needs better room cleaning after a pet is a guest. . MORE ATTENTION TO CLEANING !!!
Nothing about my stay here was acceptable. The room was noisy. The bed was too soft, The bathroom was the worst: a toilet that wouldn't flush a fan that didn't work, a shower where the flow of water was weak and the water temp fluctuated from hot to cool to hot again.
Room was clean and pretty quiet, although there was some modest highway noise. Nice fridge and microwave. Hot water in shower was super sensitive and difficult to tune. No elevator, so must use stairs. Breakfast was pretty good with a nice selection of hot and cold items. Good quality, too. I'd probably stay there again, but it was a little expensive, given the overall experience.
Upon checking in we had a delay do to our payment method, staff did not handle the issue promptly, accordingly or in a friendly manner. They were rude, pre occupied by their personal tasks and did not seem to have full knowledge of procedures and policies. When problems occurred in room staff responded rudely by replying that we were making false statements about bugs in room. The room was filthy. Grime, dust, hair, dirty sheets, odor, outdated appliances and faulty electrical outlets.
This is a beautiful, quality hotel. I'm a single women travelling alone and the hotel is very safe, quiet and clean. The hotel staff was wonderful! Makayla and Tracey made my stay perfect and helped me when I needed to extend my stay at the last moment; not an easy task with near full occupancy. I look forward to my next stay at this wonderful establishment.
Stayed to get ready for my wedding and most of my guests stayed at this property and I had an awesome experience. the staff were so welcoming and helpful, even before my stay, and it made it an enjoyable stay. It has basic rooms and amenities.
Nice rooms and friendly staff. The woman at the front desk, Tracey, was very helpful and went above and beyond to get us what we needed for our stay. She even personally and promptly brought us extra blankets and pillows for our room and before heading back to the front desk she made sure we had everything we needed. Josh on evening shift was very nice and provided us with what we needed from the small "store" in the lobby. I would recommend this place if you're ever around Placerville. They also have a great breakfast and the staff is quick to point you in the direction of fun things to do in the area during your stay. They are always staffed in the front so you're never far away from help with anything you need because it's just a phone call away.
I was snowed out of my home due to the blizzard that came through town. I made a reservation for my family of four to stay the weekend and bunker down. Tracey at the front desk was incredible! She was so polite and friendly. Her sense of customer service is out of this world. She went above and beyond at every turn. The breakfast was fabulous and I was even able to do a load of laundry and soak in the hot tub. The entire staff was so accommodating and concerned about the quality of our stay. I HIGHLY recommend staying at this hotel. It's the only good place between Eldorado Hills and South Lake Tahoe.
I found the room to be very clean. The continental breakfast had good selection and the temperature of the food as appropriate (not cold and too hot). I would recommend staying on the parking lot side as the traffic on Hwy 50 was on the noisy side. Staff was friendly. I had trouble with the door and the desk clerk came up to the room to provide assistance.
The phones in the room didn't work. Breakfast was empty since 9:15 AM. - dm breakfast until 10 AM. I went to the front desk to speak with “Tracey” at the front desk - she was on a personal call on her cell phone, talking about how she's always lived as a bartender, she doesn't have a place to stay, and has to make a choice. It was loud enough for anyone to hear at the front lobby. I looked around the front desk so she knows I'm I was waiting at the front desk so that she knows that I needed to speak with her regarding the breakfast. Once she saw me, she raised her index finger to signaling me to continue waiting, while she continued her personal phone call. Once she got off the phone, I explained to her the situation, and she stated that no extra breakfast was going to be placed outside because she is not responsible for the breakfast. I asked to speak to the manager She stated that she was the acting manager at the time. I questioned how she is the active manager, but yet can't do anything about the breakfast. At this point, she just completely ignored me I asked for her name and she told me wall pointing at her badge. Very unprofessional and rude. Will NEVER return.
All in all, a very comfortable hotel on the edge of historic, downtown Placerville. Nicole, the front desk attendant was friendly, helpful, and very knowledgeable. She was also compassionate. I had serious car trouble; when I returned to the hotel a three hours after I had left for Tahoe, she was surprised to see me. She had checked me in the night before and confirmed my Best Western rewards. I told her that I needed to check back in because my car was being examined and I had no idea how many nights I might need to remain. She stated she would put me in a room that I would be able to stay in as long as necessary. It turned out I only needed one additional night. I only wish AAA had the same commitment to customer service/satisfaction that this young lady showed me.
Great location near Apple Hill and close to Old Town shopping and dining front desk staff very helpful and friendly. Location a little hard to find the turn but fairly quiet and secure. Room was large and bed comfortable.
In error I booked a room at this inn through a third-party site called hotel planners and did not realize I did not have the right information about when I could cancel the reservation. When I spoke with the manager of the Placerville Inn and told her how I was not given the correct information, she immediately went to my aid by going to the proper people to help me to cancel the reservation with out penalty. I want to make sure others don't make this mistake and book through hotel planners or other unscrupulous websites!
I wanted to share my experience this past week. I planned a trip to Northern Cailifornia , Placerville, with friends close by, for a short getta away, as I live in Idaho. I travel often for work and have had many different experiences in Motel/Hotels. Some good some bad. Here at the Best Western in Placerville I checked in early evening and the young man whom greeted me was so pleasant and helpful as I had just drove for over 12 hours and was exhausted, ready to check in. The morning breakfast was surprisingly GREAT!!! Lots to chose from fresh and hot. Didn't have to microwave a frozen sausage biscuit... Clean inviorment pleasant atmosphere, workers were friendly, and helpful. Enjoyed the downtown shopping and the Redhawk Casino, didnt have to go the South Lake Tahoe... Time goes by to fast and it was now time to check out. I was surprised to have been greeted by such a friendly gal, Tracey was her name. What a gem she was...asked all the right questions to someone just getting up and looking at another 12 hour drive home. I had an issue with my bill explained it to her , again she said all the right things to keep me happy and satisfied. Wow...I was truly impressed with the customer service I had received. Not to mention that I am a customer account specialist in my work role and seem to always take note of others providing customer service. Thank you Tracey. Thank you Best Western. I am already looking at booking another trip your way!
The place needs to be updated a little in the presidential suite. The shutters were clean but behind them were quite dusty. The staff go out of their way to help you. The breakfast was great and the woman kept the place spotless, even with some of the slobs.
We asked for a ground floor room because of my fractured foot. We were given a ground floor room but it was across from the ice maker. At 4:30 am, someone started the ice maker and must have been filling a bathtub, there were so many ice releases. Of course this woke us up and then again right before 7 am. Very poor sound insulation, traffic was heard through closed windows all night long. The breakfast was not something I would pay for … However, the room was clean and so the housekeeping staff did a good job. We thought about getting another room but it was too much effort to do so.
If you are going during apple festival time at Apple Hill a few miles east of Placerville, go there during the week. Weekends during this time a very congested, even hours around noon during the week tend to be crowded but manageable. Still all in all this Best Western is just perfectly located for a visit to Placeville and gold country.
Had a wonderful stay. The property is in a excellent location. Rooms were clean and breakfast was great! I will definitely stay here next time I am in the area. The staff told me their going to start renovations soon and the elevators are going to be a huge PLUS.
I usually have great experiences at Best Westerns but this is unacceptable! I booked this hotel 35 days before our stay for a king-size bed for $224 a night. My husband has arthritis in both hips, and our only requirement is to have a king-size bed. Upon check-in, I was told that we had been changed to a double queen. I asked the clerk why but she just shrugged it off even after I explained the medical need for a king bed. She claimed that the manager "should" have called, but she waived the occupancy fee and gave us $30 off. THAT WAS A LIE! We ended up paying $50 more than what our reservation was for.
Nice, clean hotel in a safe area. The breakfast wasn't the greatest but we made do with it. The air conditioner blew very cold which was nice since it was hot out. Pet friendly. Good place to st Y when visiting Placerville.
We were evacuated suddenly during the Mosquito Fire in El Dorado County - after returning home from a week long event in Nevada. Booked through Hotels.com, for 2 nights, and was thankful we could extend our stay, because our town was still on lockdown. LOVED our room and all the kind and helpful staff - especially Tracy the front desk clerk. The room was clean and comfortable and on the 2nd floor you can sleep with the door open at night, as long as there's no smoke. Room service people are all super friendly and helpful, and just staying there made us feel better through the stress of wondering if we'd have a home left or not. Thank you everyone!
On a road trip I had made a reservation two months in advance.... the room was by the freeway. It was not a busy hotel. Not sure way they placed us there. It needed a deep cleaning and repairs. Lucky it was only one night
The two main services of a hotel room are a comfortable bed at night and a hot shower in the morning. There is nothing quite like having no hot water in the morning. In the end, I was apparently the problem for complaining about it.
The room did not lock. I spent 5 hours waiting to get this problem resolved. The manager went home before they got it taken care of. It sucked because I couldn't leave the room with my stuff in it. We could not attend the function we were there for.
Pros: • Front Desk Staff • Ability to request late checkout • Easy access to pool • Breakfast Room Attendants • Breakfast Availability • Location (90 minutes from Tahoe, 30 minutes from Sacramento) • Room size Cons: • Beds • Noise This property isn't really up to the standards I expect of a “Best Western Plus.” The price is about half of similarly appointed rooms in Tahoe so I wasn't too upset, but the inability to get to, and stay, asleep was an issue.
Very noisy both from the freeway and from inside the hotel. Air conditioning unit kept us awake plus you can hear people walking about upstairs and in the corridor. Having signed to say we wouldn't being a dog in the hotel there was a dog barking all night in the room next door! Breakfast was inedible. Coffee undrinkable.
I'll make this quick… From check in to check out, my needs were fulfilled. Comfy bed Clean room Nice bathroom Deliciously prepared breakfast Helpful and friendly staff! Well lit parking lot with plenty of parking
Rooms need updated. Very loud Hwy and street noise. Dante at guest check-in was “Awesome” Great customer service. I was told the pool/spa area was recently updated, tile, coping and grout were old and missing in places. The spa jets did not bubble so I would hate to have seen this pool area before they did updates.
Great friendly staff. Beautiful clean, comfortable rooms. In room coffee, microwave, and refrigerator. Great towels, pillows, and bedding. Very nice pool. Excellent breakfast. We loved our room and wouldn't hesitate to stay here again. Very good location, centrally located off of the freeway, but not on the freeway.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the BW Plus Placerville Inn. The staff are consistently friendly, helpful and welcoming. Front desk, housekeeping, breakfast lady and grounds crew people ALL made a point to greet and chat with us. The room was clean and comfortable. The pool was clean and refreshing. The fitness room had everything we needed to maintain our workout routines. Breakfast was greatly appreciated and good. A hotel doesn't have to be flashy or new....it's the people that make an experience great.
Had some business in El Dorado county d stayed for a couple days. Check I. Was quick and easy. Breakfast was great. My room was very comfortable . Don't miss out on the pool and spa great way to end the day. Definitely will be staying here again
Workers working until 7:15 pm in next room, breakfast ends way to soon 9am -employee closing down prior to 9 instead of waiting until 9, Maid staff VERY loud in the morning in the laundry room and halls.
Finding laundry room & navigating the stairs was a bit of a pain ; but other than that this is a great hotel. The staff were quite helpful. This included helping us with luggage! If we come back along Hwy 50 in the future, we will try to book a room here. Money wise, it's a good deal. Laundry was cheap!! $1 and $1.50.
5 stars for this location. The staff was friendly, helpful and cheerful. The location is well maintained and the breakfast, included in the price of the room, was generous - eggs, sausage, make your own waffles, yogurt and breads. i absentmindedly left my rx glasses in my room, housekeeping found them and the hotel mailed them back to me for a small charge. I was more than grateful. Their sign is a little hard to see from the highway (due to foliage) so look carefully are you approach the location.
I searched for a hotel that allowed dogs of any size (many just allow small dogs or certain breeds) and was able to book a room at the last minute over the July 4th 2022 holiday weekend. I booked the room to get out of my neighborhood due to the endless illegal fireworks that go off around the 4th of July that are very difficult for my dog. The rate was very affordable and the room was ready early so I was able to drive up right away and check-in. The woman at the front desk was very nice and knowledgeable and got me registered in minutes. My room (#102) was near the hotel's laundry room but I never heard the staff or machines going. It was very quiet the entire time I was there. The room, linens, and towels were all exceptionally clean and the pillows were great (I need to find out where they buy them so I can have some at home). The TV had an excellent picture with many channels to choose from. The water from the tap was excellent too - I never drink the water from the tap at home but the water tasted great. Since I booked so late I was not able to get one of the pet-friendly rooms that have a sliding glass door from the room to a little patio and grassy area for dogs but I will certainly be here again next year and book early so I can get one of those rooms - they look great! I've already told my dog-mom friends so they can book here as well. Oh, and be sure to let them know if you're a Triple A member - you'll get a discount. This is a great place and I highly recommend it!!
Arrived at designated time and room was perfectly ready. I had pre checked in and it was a breeze. Staff was helpful and friendly all through my stay. Lobby person went out of his way to assist both myself and Spouse when needed.
This hotel is very well kept. After we were very friendly greeted we found our room to be spacious and clean. The mattrass is harder than most hotelsbeds and we love that we slept on the bed instead of in it. The bathroom had a curved waterrod but very low waterpressure. We got towels and toileteries and were served a breakfast with great choices. They had different kind of breads, cereals, yogurts, fruits even had granola to pick from and warm items. They kept it clean and very well stocked during breakfast.
The presidential suite was great! Right off the pool, no sharing of walls so that was nice. However, I would caution others for this room in that other guests using the pool are able to be heard inside the room.
Stayed here with the wife on a recent trip. It was located with easy access to both CA Highway 50 and CA Highway 49. The hotel was clean, but showed signs of wear. My main complaint about them is the breakfast buffet. The food when I was there was a bit old and tired as well as sparse! The staff kept saying, "We will have more in about 10 minutes, and that they were following hotel rules!" Hmmm! Anyway, would probably stay there again. Additionally, the Mexican Restaurant that they tout as being in their parking lot, didn't show any signs of life when I was there.
The rooms were very clean, Plenty of hot water, Convenient location to highway, friendly staff. Breakfast was more than adequate. Nice Mexican restaurant in the same parking lot. Would definitely stay here again.
This hotel exceeded my expectations. The staff was friendly, Knowledgeable, professional and kind. The rooms were clean. Pets are allowed, but I know the rooms were extremely clean because I had no allergic reaction in them. Staff on hand 24/7, even at 430 in the morning. Red Hawk casino is only 2 exits away. Will definitely stay here again.
We checked into the Best Western Plus in Placerville on Feb 11th 2022. The room was great size and we booked one with the fireplace to be a little more cozy. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was clean. There is no elevator and we were fine with the stairs as I dont like elevators. So if you have a special needs person with you make sure you book a bottom level room. I know the property is going through a refurbishment and cant wait to see the new changes next year. The staff was super friendly and they checked on us to make sure our room met our needs. It is conveniently located next to US50 and about 4 miles to old Hangtown. The breakfast was just perfect just enough to get you going to your next destination We look forward to our stay there again.
Needed a place to stay while on the way to Tahoe. Found this place. Excellent service, rooms were clean, and great breakfast with strong selections. It was a very pleasant stay for me and my family. We will definitely come back when we're in the area again.
Our stay was great! Was upgraded to the presidential suite and it was amazing! Fireplace, jacuzzi tub, couch, quite and to itself across from pool. It was worth the wait for it! Great location and breakfast!
We have stayed at this hotel several times in the past years and we always found the room furnitures to be outdated. However this last weekend our stay was quite nice. They have updated the furnitures, beds, and beddings. Carpet was newer as well. Finally felt nice about the room. Glad they were able to have some reno done
I'm afraid the only positive things i could say was the staff was nice enough and breakfast options good. The bare sofa mattress was unspeakably filthy (see picture). Had to call for bedding and cringed putting my children on it. No mattress cover was provided. Balcony would have been great had it not been engulfed in cigarette smoke and marijuana from all the neighbors who disregarded the no smoking sign. Trashes we're overflowing in the breakfast room. I submitted my review to them at their request. We paid $215 for the room, $100 would have been too much. They need to do better.
The hotel is close to Highway 50, Apple Hill and downtown Placerville. There is no elevator, so check on room location if elderly or handicapped. Standard hotel room. O.K. (hot) breakfast. served 6AM to 9 AM. Computer in lobby available for use. Room rate was $134.
Our room did not have a working air conditioner, and when we called to ask for it to be checked/repaired, two maintenance people couldn't figure it out. They told us the hotel was sold out so we couldn't move rooms. We also couldn't open the window because (1) there was no screen or safety bar or anything preventing my young children from going out the window and (2) the hotel is right by a major freeway so it's incredibly loud with the window open. At 3am my family of 2 adults & 3 kids decided to end our trip because it was just too hot in the room and we were told there were no other rooms. When we went to front desk to check out and leave our complaint, the front desk agent had a room for us that worked great. I don't know how that wasn't offered to us hours earlier. I will never stay at this hotel again - worst night of sleep ever, and almost ruined our family trip. The front desk agent who moved us was wonderful - I wish I remembered his name.
My service experience was excellent. But the franchise owner clearly is pocketing every dime and not reinventing in the place. It's as worn as any Best Western I've ever seen. BW needs to inspect the place and see if it's living up the the Franchise agreement.
Such a friendly and kind staff! They exceeded my expectations and made visiting Placerville such a treat. Got my work done and managed to sneak in a round of golf nearby too. Will definitely recommend to my coworkers and boss. Also, there's a nice Mexican restaurant next door. Pool and Spa were nice and clean.
Very disappointing for the nightly cost. We checked in at 3:15. I called town at 3:30 to ask that they bring bedding to the room for the pull out couch as there was none in the room. I asked them to please come in as we were heading out to a wedding. We returned to the room at 10pm. No bedding was in the room. Attempted to contact front desk multiple times and no answer. Walked down and was handed one blanket, told there was no pillows and that he would bring the sheets and another blanket to the room. 30mins later I attempted to call the front desk 10times. Finally an answer and told that he can't find the guy with the key to the bedding and will bring them down when he finds him. It's 10:30 at night, requested this at 3:30 in the afternoon. Paid $300 for one night in this place which all around, not worth! Do not recommend
Needed this room on short notice and Best Western was most accommodating in getting us in. Hotel has easy freeway access and centrally located. Hotel doesn't have an elevator which did pose some troubles for my wife. For the money you can't go wrong
I'm very disappointed with this stay, too noisy almost all the time, the hallways are like echo chambers all the furniture is outdated and well broken in (the bed was comfortable) the bed is right next to the air conditioning unit which is right up next to the bed.... In my personal opinion this particular property is not worthy of the "Plus" branding.. Not sure if I'll stay at this location next time I'm in Placerville.
Comfortable bed, clean room, however most rooms are facing the highway so it can be noisy. Maintenance and cleaning crew were very annentive with questions or extra requests, front desk not as much. Enjoyed the hot tub and smelling planted roses. When we went to their breakfast at 7:30 am most of the food was gone so not sure if a lot people came through before us or not being stocked properly. You are better off getting breakfast somewhere else. Coffee was good though. There is a Mexican restaurant next to it which was very good but have limited hrs during the week so check ahead to see if they are open. The location is perfect to getting to Apple Hill, Gold Bug Mine, or venturing into Placerville on Main Street which was fun.
The hotel was very clean. The staff at the front desk were welcoming, friendly and helpful. Anything we needed was provided immediately with a smile. The rest of the staff we encountered were just a friendly. The breakfast room was very clean, well stocked and pretty darn good. We would definitely staff here again.
To start did pre check in on the app the night before, got there 15 min before checkin room not ready, told to come back, we came back & room still not ready, we had a wedding to be at! Beds horrible!
This hotel was very quiet and the people who work there are GREAT. Holly, Daryel, and Mark were awesome. It was hard with no elevator and the hotel seemed a bit rundown. It was clean and as I said the rooms are very quiet and it is near stores. I give the people who work there an A+. Thanks!
During our resent stay, 8-15-21/8-18-21, we were impressed by the cleanliness of this location as well as the room itself.. It's still following Covid protocol with staff wearing masks. But what truly impressed us was how the staff handled the challenge of a huge, severe fire in the nearby area, which broke out on 8-16 on. Nearby towns and areas were evacuated. Many locals had to leave their homes. With the Inn completely full, but locals having nowhere else to go, this hotel opened their parking lot to anyone in need . Staff was wonderfully kind to all, keeping us all informed and calm. Truly amazing and VERY much appreciated.
We stayed here for a nearby wedding. I will echo what others have said. The staff at this hotel are very friendly and helpful! Nick was super at the front desk, and gave us an excellent recommendation for breakfast at a nearby local restaurant. We had some room key problems and even the maintenance person was great in helping us. I must let people know that this multistory hotel does not have an elevator! So, if you want to avoid caring your things up stairs, request a ground floor room. We thought the room was clean and useable. The in-room air conditioner was quieter than most. Just realize you are not staying at a Ritz, and you will not be disappointed!
We're checking in for a family Wedding and couldn't be more pleased with the friendly helpful service we received from Nicholas & Josh. Both welcomed us with opened arms, explained the rate, the hotel amenities and even gave us suggestions on what to see and what to while in Placerville. These two gentlemen provided the type of service we need to more of especially post COVID . #bekind #greatcustomerservice #bestwesternvips
We stayed here because shuttles had been arranged to transport guests to a wedding we were attending at nearby venue. The rooms were decent with laminate wood flooring (so much more hygienic than carpet). Even though our room was right next to the pool and people were actually swimming when we went to bed, we didn't hear a thing all night. It's a typical Best Western, but what made it stand out was Nick at the front desk. He was kind enough to switch our room so that we could have one with an early check-in (otherwise we would've missed the shuttle...which was coming to get us prior to the hotel's 3pm check-in.) Nick was kind, patient, incredibly helpful, and has a great sense of humor. He made our stay enjoyable and stress-free. Thanks Nick!
Faulty air conditioner, cover fell off in middle of night to laminate floor, ugly way to be awoken. Filthy dirty inside, needed new filter and cleaning; took two calls to finally get somebody 6 hours later. No refresh as promised, coffee ran out, towels ran out, kindergarten height toilet.
Great rooms for reasonable rates. We had a poolside room, super clean and convenient. Rooms are large in size with refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker and flat screen. Nick helped us out with local information and places to visit. Thanks Nick!!!
This hotel is nice, has a nice pool. Kinda small but is fine for this size hotel. The room we had 340 was big, but it's view is of the side of the hotel they were staging some construction materials. Not a great view, but I'm not sure there are good views from here. The only thing I was disappointed with is that it's not near the downtown of Placerville. But otherwise it was nice, clean place to stay the night.
Noisy, the room was facing the street. Old windows did nothing to block the sound, pretty much sounded like we were camping in center divider of the freeway. Furniture stained, door lock jammed all the time, had to fight our way into the room. Next time we'll stay in Folsom.
This hotel was a welcome relief after a long, hot motorcycle ride. Like most hotels, the air conditioner wasn't on but it didn't take long to cool the room. My only gripe is that I had requested a top floor and was given a room on the second floor. I didn't know there were 3 floors. Hard footsteps above and a loud neighbor next door.
Best Westerns have not failed me yet. Clean, comfortable and updated. This B.W. shares a parking lot with a Mexican restaurant, so we took a hop, skip and a jump to dinner. It's also near a family fun center in Pollock Pines, and 25 minute away from Whitewater Excitement rafting.
Check in was lengthy and I did not get the floor I was told. Requested maid service on day 3 was ignored. Had to take my own trash out, lug wet towels to the lobby, use own soap. Telephone didn't work, room key failed a lot. Key to get in building was broken door jammed open with a rug. Pool cold, Jacuzzi cold (no heat) and water didn't look good. The hotel is in a good location, but lots of issues
Memorial Day weekend 2021. Unresponsive staff. Made no attempt to fix problems. Stayed 3 days. Safety issues: during stay Smoke detector fell off ceiling, The heavy fire resistant door to the staircase was coming off its hinges.Key card entrance door to the building was non-functioning. The door was left propped open during the night.Tiles fell off baseboard in bathroom. Sink drained very slow upon arrival-never fixed. Reported functional and safety issues twice. Never fixed. Safe broken. Floor filthy upon arrival. Curtains torn. Windows filthy. Safety issues: Key card Entrance door to hotel broken, left propped open at night, Paint peeling off building. Air condition unit covers laying on the ground. Hot tub not heated. Pool not heated. Smooth tiles around pool and spa decking - hazardous when wet! Exercise room closed (this is after State opens these to public after earlier covid closings) Three story building NO elevator. Website not updated. No luggage carts on 2 of three floors. Ran out of do not disturb signs! Asked for replacement towels at front desk and they were out of hand towels. So much more. Worn out hotel that is not being cared for. If it was free I would never stay there again. My collegue who was with me agrees. Would've left if I could've gotten another hotel within 60 miles. But everyone was sold out due to the holiday.
The room had a horrible smell. Sink was clogged. Cigarette smoke pulling in through my vents. Iron broken. Towel stained. Extremely noisy outside in parking lot. We got in at midnight from a wedding and people were blaring music and smoking outside our room. Dog poop right outside our sliding door to patio area. I told staff. They said it's the owners responsibility to clean up. The owner was long gone so I had to deal with looking at the poop. :( I wonder if it ever got cleaned up….
Great location for a quick getaway. Only a few miles down the road from Red Hawk. There is a great mexican restaurant next door with great food and drinks that we just walked to from our hotel room. Pool at the hotel was great for lounging by also. It was a great fun-filled overnight stay!
This hotel is way overpriced. It is old and in need of a makeover. Our first room, which we moved from, had drapes that were shredded - unbelievable! No carpet on the floor so quite load. It was pretty clean but so very tired.
Check in was fine abs location good. Sticker of the door dating room was sanitizes but bathroom had a couple 100 long black hair, so don't think so. Two towels and 1 hand towels in the room. Towels are old abs scratchy. Bed send you to the center abs when you roll over is squeaks like crazy. Pillows were sadly as old as the bed. Time for an upgrade.
This place is clean but worn out. Needs new beds, chair cushions, furniture. It's convenient to my mother-in-law's assisted living facility so that's why we stay there. Close to Placerville which has some good restaurants.
The hotel was very average and I would even say subpar fir the price. The bed was comfortable and clean other than that the rooms were not well-maintained and the outside of the hotel looks in poor shape
Quick and easy walk in with friendly staff. Always appreciate pet friendly hotels, but Would be nice if there was bigger grassy area.. The pool was open which was a refreshing change. Good delivery nearby. Would recommend
The ADA room lacked a shower bench and was told one could be available the next day. The fire alarm was also beeping so the manager completely removed it, leaving us without a fire alarm. No other ADA rooms were accessible so we were told our options were to stay in that room or look for a different hotel. Lastly, the TV remote was missing and the replacement didn't work. Overall management's resolutions were unsatisfactory.
Old, smells, floors/furniture/halls look dirty, paint is flaking off the walls, plumbing is slow so you stand in dirty water, bedding is paper thin. 1st floor is numbered as 200 series.staff isn't that nice and don't recognize elite members.
Overall experience was good. The front desk manager was however very rude. I had talked with her prior on the phone and she seemed very helpful and kind, But arriving the day prior to my reservation as we had family staying at the hotel for weekend, I went in to speak about my reservation and checking in early as we spoke about on the phone and the front desk manger was very rude. Thankfully her staff the next morning were very kind and helpful, thank you to those staff members.
Great staff who are helpful and efficient. Hotel itself is right off freeway. At times vehicle noise can be heard. Room did have some stains in furniture/carpet. Good water pressure in shower. WiFi easily accessed and consist. Overall, great value
Rooms were clean, due to covid there were limits to what was open, and the breakfast was modified, but overall an easy stay. Will be staying here again. Pool, hot tub, and gym were closed. Staff was friendly and polite. Lots of easy parking.
We stayed at this hotel for a work conference and there were MANY problems. The hot water was tepid at best, no screens on the room windows and the TV's didn't work. This is just a few of the problems.
Clean room and friendly service. Best sanitation protocols I've seen since COVID hit. Rooms have seal on door indicating room has been sanitized that guest has to break when entering. First place I've stayed that still included breakfast (COVID safe grab and go) since COVID hit.
The room here was nothing special: clean and comfortable. There is a nice pool area that we enjoyed. Staff was friendly. It was a short drive to downtown Placerville. During one of our days there, there was Sheriff's activity a few rooms down that looked like it ended up in the arrest, or at least a room search, of one of the guests. I was blocked from going down that part of the hallway. Didn't exactly inspire confidence in wanting to stay there again if the Sheriff's department have to be called.
The customer service rep who helped me book my room over the phone was very helpful; however, she told me the BW in Placerville was rated 4 out of 5. I'm not sure why. When we arrived at the hotel, the door to the room was left open with the security latch. Tired from a long trip, we dismissed it. The door was also difficult to open. We had to pull hard to open it. The interior was musty. We brought our own sanitizer. We wiped and sprayed the surfaces for our health and safety measures. The decor was old. The bathtub had a white patch. The bed was not comfortable. What hit the nail on the head for this low rating was the shower. The pull for the shower didn't work unless we turn the knob towards the cold setting. Even then, the shower spray wasn't strong. We put some drinks in the fridge which didn't work. The knob setting didn't do any good. Also, waking up the next morning to see a bunch of construction material was not a site to see. I can't express enough the most disappointing BW stay I've had thus far. Don't ask me to come back here. It will not happen.
I wish I could say that overall my stay here was fine, but that is a bit generous. I liked the secluded location and the male clerk who checked me in. Unfortunately the mattress was sagging in the middle, the shower plumbing left half of the water going straight down the drain, and when I called for a late check out the female clerk was very short with me and it turns out I had to pay $30 more. I had my dog with me so all in all I paid $160 for one night and I didn't even get up in time for the free breakfast.
I'm not really sure why this hotel has such bad reviews? I was seriously pretty worried but the hotels in Placerville are very limited so it was basically our only choice. The room was clean and comfy.
Hotel is run down and feels dirty. Mold in shower, chipped tile, fingerprints on doors, lumpy worn out beds, dirty worn out carpet, old worn covers on bed, nothing available for breakfast, hotel needs updating, exterior needs paint and repairs, desk staff not very polite or informative. I have stayed in many Best Western properties, this does not even get close to Best Western standards that I have come to know and rely on.
Worst best Western I've ever stayed at! Had broken glass in the bathroom when I showed up came back after work wasn't cleaned or fixed the mirrors had sticky stuff all over them and the a/c was broken. Told front desk about all of it said they would have someone get to it when I was at work and nothing ever happened went back to front desk after work and told the person said they would have someone up to fix and clean the mess. Person never showed up!
This hotel is not horrible but not the best. I've stayed here twice in the past month and unfortunately the COVID restrictions are very evident here. The grab and go breakfast is not good (granola bar, lousy pastry and unripe/overripe fruit) and there now is no coffee service. Coffee in the room is okay but no more liquid creamer. You will have to ask for extra towels and no freshening of rooms unless requested. Inconsistencies with friendliness of staff and there is a bit of road noise with the freeway outside the windows. The location is great and we chalk up the mediocre visit primarily to issues related to COVID.
We had the same experience with no housekeeping we were told they would clean if we requested it. We requested it at check in and again Sat morning before we left got back NOTHING clean. No contact yet
We stayed for three nights and could not get housekeeping to service our room. No fresh towels, no garbage pick up. I can make my own bed, so don't care about the rest. When I tried to contact the front desk, they would never answer the phone. We were too busy to stand in line in the lobby to talk to someone. In the time of the corona virus, cleanliness should be paramount and this particular Best Western does not take cleanliness seriously.
This was a very comforting end to a long day of travel, Too bad that COVID-19 didn't let us enjoy everything. I would however do it again. It is nice to not have frustration at the end of a day after traveling, after being road weary comfort and quite is a list topper, not to mention this hotel had a good restaurant close by, like 200 feet.
They charged me $30.00 extra for staying until 1.pm plus they charge me too much for the room but I had no choice because there were no other rooms or hotels near by. Under the hide-a-bed their was lots of trash, wrappers, and more stuff underneath it.
I stayed for 2 nights even though I wasn't in my room the whole time, just to sleep. Bedding is comfortable and room was cosy with an electric fireplace. The only down side is that i found long strands of hair in my bed sheets and clogged bathroom sink.
This is our 2nd time staying. Both times the front desk was extremely friendly & helpful. Sammi was especially helpful. The rooms are clean. We have not had the breakfast so I can't give my opinion on it. We WILL be back.
This is a good value but on our last trip we had issues with housekeeping and check in. We arrived too early for check in but wanted to make sure we got our preferred room. The lady at the desk assured us that our preference was locked in but when we returned that evening, we had been placed elsewhere and the guy at the desk was now adamant that only he locks in rooms. My wife has mobility issues and can't do steps. Housekeeping was poor. We returned he next evening to find our door ajar. Fortunately nothing wa stolen. I went down to the desk and complained and the clerk made note of it and said she'd been on them about that. So, I go back to my room and now my key card doesn't work. Fortunately, my wife was in the room as the door had been left open. Another trip to the lobby to fix that but waiting in line as others check in. Get back in the room and use the bathroom only to find out that the dirty towels were taken but not replenished. Tried to call the front desk but all the phones in the room were dead, so another trip to the lobby. We've stayed at this location a number of times when we visit friends and the Red Hawk casino and overall it's a good value but they need to do a better job with housekeeping.
Great place to stop off. Large room without carpet, thank you. Nice lobby. Ample parking. Pool and spa. Friendly staff. Really appreciated the friendly attention for breakfast service by Armeda and Brittny. Start our day off with a friendly smile. Thanks Armeda.
We checked into the Palcerville Best Western on Feb 7th 2020. First time at this location. We were very pleased spacious clean room smelled good grounds were upkept. The staff was freindly offering local suggestion. The waffles on the free breakfast were oh so good. We will be back next year.
Stayed two nights at this rather shabby Best Western. It's clearly in need of updates and some advice on product use - I found the hallways and lobby to be extremely scented, although the room didn't smell of cleaning products. Unfortunately, the room was not clean - dust elephants in the corners!
We have stayed at the Best Western Plus in Placerville several times. This time we were traveling with friends, so they stayed there, too. Both couples did not have their rooms made up one day, and after complaining, only had partial service the following day. Wastebaskets were not emptied and the floor was not vacuumed. The management needs help, and the rooms need to be refurbished. They are tired!
This was our 3rd time, over the years, staying at this Best Western Plus in Placerville. We thought the change to hardwood floors from carpeting made a significant positive difference! Sammi, at check-in, was always helpful if we had any questions. Armeada, in the restaurant, was always cheerful and made sure we had what we wanted or needed. Our one concern, as in previous stays, was that the outside entrances were not securely locked as a sign on the door stated that they would be after hours. We always came back late to an unlocked door. We never felt unsafe, but these doors should be locked after 10/11 pm.
The hotel was fine maybe needs updated the fire place didn't work in our room. The pull out couch didn't have sheets so I called the front desk no answer. I had to go down there to ask for all the bedding . He said someone will bring it to the room. Hour later nothing I had to go back down there to ask again.
After staying a few nights at another major motel chain, we were very pleased to find this property. We travel with our two dogs and it's not always easy to find a good hotel that will accept pets. Not only did they accept our dogs, but the room was very comfortable, breakfast had a wide variety of good food to choose from, and staff was friendly and helpful.
We stayed at Best Western Placerville Inn for leisure in December. The staff there were all very caring and friendly. The room was very comfortable and nicely decorated. The bed was a queen and very comfortable although we prefer a harder mattress we slept well we enjoyed the breakfast before we checked out.the ladies were helpful and very accommodating. The food was very yummy and alot of variety to choose from. We left there feeling very fulfilled. We will surely stay there again when up that way.
Outer doors locks are non functional at all times of the day and night. Hotel staff stated doors lock in the evenings. I was able to come in and out at 11:30, 1:30am, 3:30am, and at 5am without a card key. The hotel staff said the issue would be addressed. The second night, I tested and found the same condition. No action. The morning of departure (6:30am), the pool gate was standing open. Not a safe place for children.
I stayed there in November. My mom was living there while her house was being repaired due to damage to the roof during a recent storm. Everyone that worked there were so kind. The rooms were clean and my room was huge. They treated my mom like family and helped make a difficult time easier. Thank you Sammi and crew!
We have been staying here since 2003 and always loved our stays. Sammy at the front desk, guided us on the point system and gave us 500 on our rewards just for staying here. We also were delighted in and nice glass of wine during happy hour. Looking forward to a complementary breakfast in the morning before family festivities. We always feel at home here. Also a NEW little necessity market in the foyer for any forgotten items like dental floss, Advil, toothbrush and feminine products, a huge plus.
I popped in really late and was looking for a room and Sammi/Glynda were a complete godsend. They got me set-up with a room in about 15 minutes that had a nice view. They had great personalities that helped pass the short amount of time to get my room.
GROSS! They did not change my sheets OR clean the bathroom. There was a used bar of soap in the shower as well as oil all over the floor that we slipped on. I also found a hair on my pillow that was not mine. When I told them at check out, they offered me a measly 25% off. The room was $130! I expect that type of uncleanliness from a $65 motel, not one of that price. And 25% off still means I paid $100 for a dirty room. I sent them another email asking them to consider a full comp or at least 50% off, and never heard back. SO, I guess they are ok with bad reviews more than doing the right thing.
This hotel is gorgeous. Located in between Sacramento and South Lake Tahoe, it is near wineries and white water rafting. There was no white water rafting when we visited because it's almost winter time, but there was a casino nearby with a 24/7 shuttle to/from the hotel. Beautiful wineries and orchards near here too. Not too far from Tahoe either. The staff was nice, rooms clean, and the Mexican restaurant next door was perfect since we could walk there. Free upgraded breakfast included! Spa was nice to come to at the end of a long day at the winery.
Visiting family in Rancho Cordova from the Bay Area. We decided to check out Apple Hill, which was an absolutely beautiful part of California. This hotel is the perfect distance away and the staff is all very friendly and accommodating. Clean rooms and great pool area. Will definitely stay again. A+
Upon check in I should walked out pet so I front of me took forever he had so many issues when it was my time it was quick so because I pre checked In online. My room front door had been broken into before the front door henges had been pried open and had huge gaps in each henge area light was shining in and the top one was at least 2 inches open gap if you were tall enough you could see right into the room. The room itself was ok but not cleaned properly the bathroom was dirty and the sink counter had some glitter decals on it from the previous guests Bed was not comfortable at all we could not sleep we did. not feel safe or clean staying here we were supposed to be here for 2 nights but left after 1 I will never come back The hallways stunk like they were trying to spray some type of deodorizer to make it smell clean but it made it worst the walls were dirty and dust throughout the hallways. The front door to each room is located inside the building not outside their are not elevators only stairs which did not feel safe or clean I would not stay here again
My wife and I stayed here one night while visiting local wine country. We have stayed at a number of Best Western Plus Hotels and enjoyed our stay. This one did not meet expectations. A couple of positive notes--the employees at check in and check out were both very courteous and friendly. The room was very large and allowed for suitcases and bags to be stored out of the way. Refrigerator and microwave were nice to have in the room. However, this hotel needed updating and TLC. The bed was stiff and sagged in the middle. The carpet and furniture throughout the hotel was worn, outdated and needed a refresh. The toilet paper holder in the bathroom kept pulling out of the wall. Sink plunger was missing a knob. The hot tub was roped off and not useable. Breakfast offered a variety but was luke warm and yoghurt machine didn't work. The most frustrating part was we asked to upgrade to a room with a patio or balcony when we originally booked the room. We were informed the property didn't have either. When we got there to check in, we noticed almost every room had one or the other. We asked if we could get a room with a balcony but was told we were getting a room in the back away from freeway noise.....with a fantastic view of two overflowing dumpsters of garbage below. We will continue to stay at Best Western Plus Hotels throughout our travels but won't return to this one unfortunately.
Only problem we had was the water pressure in the shower. Everything else was great! Staff was also very nice. Breakfast was delicious! We were really bummed that the hot tub was out of order. (It was one of the reasons we picked this hotel) Having our room facing the highway was somewhat annoying. But it happens. Hopefully it gets up and running again soon!
My girlfriend n I do overnight stays in the Placerville area and WE have just found our new fav spot. Check in was easy and pleasant. The customer service was great, it seemed everyone there really liked their job. the room was awesome, large room, large/comfy bed and just a comfortable stay, Breakfast was as good as any restaurant, the service once again was awesome. The two ladies working the breakfast service were great. Extremely helpful and smiling the whole time. This is our new place to stay in the Placerville area!
My friends and I go to Apple Hill each year, we go over spend the night and then the next day visiting the Apple Ranches. We always stay at the Best Western Plus Placerville Inn. The staff is friendly and the rooms are comfortable, plus they have a great selection for breakfast.
My husband and I stayed at the placerville inn best western with our 4 month old baby in the midst of the entire town of Placerville having a power outage. In the midst of chaos going on around them, employees remained calm, collected and incredible accommodating. The front desk staff was friendly and welcoming and the breakfast staff the morning of Thursday Oct 10 made me feel as if I was in a fine dining establishment. Making it a yearly trip- Apple Hill and Best Western Placerville
Stayed at this hotel for an event in Placerville and chose it over the much more reasonably priced B&Bs in the area because I expected it to be one of the updated "Best Western Plus" venues. Instead, inside was largely the same 1970's layout. Overall the staff was great and the location was alright (about 5 minutes from placerville) but the cost is obscene compared the amenities which approached motel quality.
Travelled with family to Apple Hill last weekend. The hotel was easy to find given its location. The staff was very welcoming. The entire property was clean and our room was spotless. Will definitely stay here again.
ADA parking not adewuate for wheelchair van with ramp. Crosshatch too small for entry and exit with a wheelchair into van. Entry into the hotel as well as the room really difficult without assistance from someone. The room was excellent as far as room at the bed and bathroom. Didn't use shower but it looked to be adequate.
Neither the deadbolt or the safety locks on our door worked. We reported it 3 times, but it was never fixed. We spent 2 nights in a room we were unable to properly secure. We were not offered another room or any partial or full refund.
The hotel appearance was clean and well kept. Rooms and hallways very clean and fresh new paint and decor. Windows are old and can hear freeway noise. Our bedroom door was hard to open, big space on bottom of door shines light thru and can hear the continuous hallway music.
Our Room was on the main level and very clean! We enjoyed having both a refrigerator and microwave in our room! Our stay consisted of six nights, where we were gone from morning till night and sometimes back after it was dark. What we really enjoyed was taking time every morning walking to the onsite breakfast room! The selection of food was immense for any different taste you might desire. We are on our feet all day, and sometimes no time to eat for the rest of the day! What the real enjoyment was the staff of Elizabeth and Julie, always with a smiling face and friendly conversation!!! The two of them made it so pleasant with not only constantly keeping everything stocked and clean, but just sharing their previous day and help in starting the day on such a positive high mood!!! We have already made reservations in staying here on another business trip this month!
Visited Northern CA for the past couple weeks. Went with my family up to Apple Hill for a wedding last weekend. Visited some wineries too. This hotel has a perfect location close to all the orchards and activities. Can't beat it. Staff is very friendly and rooms are so big! Love the space. A+ -- Pool Patio rooms are great!
BWI Placerville is located conveniently to shopping, wines and Apple Hill. We like staying here. Staff is really good. We had an issue with the room and the front desk got to it right away. Don, the house man, was very good at getting it done immediately.
My wife and I spent Tuesday night here prior to a fly fishing trip on the American River. The hotel is conveniently located right off HWY 50 and a couple of miles from downtown Placerville. The rooms are clean and comfortable and a very nice full breakfast is included. An extra perk was the beer or wine provided from 6 - 8 PM. Recommended.
Always a great stay. Amanda and the rest of the front desk staff always met us with a warm welcome. location is great for just about everything you need. rooms are very nice. I travel a lot for work and this is a place i will always stay when I am in placerville.
The rooms are comfortable and clean, and the meal service for breakfast was a plus. The venue was the closed place to the place that we were going, and near a number of other items in the area that we wanted to see.
Nicest place in the area. Room was comfortable. No elevator was a little weird but worked out for us. Other guests were quiet which was a nice treat. Looked like a nice pool & area, I did not use. Breakfast wasn't great, typical hotel continental style. Not many choices for gluten free but I did make a small breakfast from what they had. Room was clean but probably hadn't been used in awhile (dead bugs in sink & bathroom corner). AC worked great & was a very hot weekend. Road noise was a little loud with the windows open but when closed wasn't bad. Overall a good value when you're in the area & need a place to stay.
Housekeeping is sporadic and not well done. Rooms are outdated and not maintained well. Pool is dirty as was the spa. Definitely not good value for $169.00 a night. Bed is not very comfortable. We were definitely disappointed. We came with a large group for an anniversary party being held in the banquet room.
We spent 5 nights here in what you hey call the President's suite, I'm afraid to ask what the other rooms look like. The carpet was dirty, the water pressure non-existent, the a/c was impossible to control and if you do stay here by all means give the "free breakfast" a complete miss it is absolutely horrible. The housekeeping is hit or miss and the pool has a weird slime floating on top. I asked for extra pillows and had to put the cases on myself while Front Desk staff watched me. There is plenty of parking so that's a bright spot but that's about all I can say that's positive.
Great customer service by sammi. I been working in the placerville are for the last year and every week that I have to stay in the placerville area this is my first choice hotel. Rooms are also clean.
I walked into the hotel lobby and was immediately greeted by Sammi. She was very articulate, informative, and pay'd attention to every detail. Not sure who the owners are, but I'm guessing they aren't paying her enough! Outstanding customer service. Rooms were very clean and comfortable. Bathrooms were stocked and well cleaned. Will stay here again.
Thank you, Sammi for all you help with my Room problem and the way you take care my Family, Definitely great place to stay, close to many places as well only one hour from South Lake Tahoe, See you all next time,
Damp, musty bathroom. Worn, tired furnishings. Free breakfast had make-your-own waffles. Free wifi. Could feel the springs in the mattresses. Slow check-in with the lady with the dreadlocks. Ended up being overcharged. Wished I had stayed somewhere else.
We stopped by a little earlier than check in to have them hold onto a suit until we got our room. Sammi at the front desk took care of it for us and was great to us the rest of our stay. She informed us of their happy hour special. Sun - Thurs each room gets 2 complimentary drinks. Never seen that before.
this was my third time staying here it was not as good as the last two. room needs freshing up especially bathroom. very small toilet only two towels for two people. they have changed amenitys to lower end products. As always the staff was great except maintence. asked for the clock to be put to correct time when I came back it had been changed to wrong time think it was broke should have been replaced. I will however stay here again place is very clean inside and out and close to everything that I want to do.
Close to Red Hawk casino. No charge shuttle/limo service available. Right off freeway but still very quiet. Nice grounds. Friendly staff. Great breakfast. Mexican restaurant within walking distance. Will stay again.
I think this was our 1st time at a Best Western. Could not of been more pleased. Very clean, room 2as spacious and well stocked with towels and bath supplies. The lobby was beautiful, and the complimentary breakfast was outstanding! The employees were all very polite and helpful. We wouldn't hesitate to stay at a Best Western again.
What a great stay. We were whisked through check in by Sammi's dexterous fingers. She remembered all of our names before we even arrived. I forgot my key in the room and before I could even ask her for new ones she had 2 new key cards ready for me. 2 complimentary drinks at happy hour and smiles all day everyday. Would stay again.
The front desk staff was courteous and efficient. Sammi in particular was incredibly helpful and made our stay smooth and pleasant. They also have happy hour each evening- 2 complimentary drinks per room. Thanks Sammi!
I was part of a group traveling for work and this was the most pleasant experience I have ever had at a Best Western. Super charming grounds and amazing staff. Sammi took care of us from the moment we showed up, never forgetting our names or room numbers. She made our trip. She also had an incredibly kind colleague named Julie that made our time there very comfortable. Thanks BW, you've got a good thing going in Placerville.
I've stayed at a lot of smaller hotel chains over the years for business, and usually the staff is kind and helpful. But Sammi at BW Plus really was above and beyond. She knew all our names and room numbers by heart even though our group had a short stay. She was helpful in recommending local eateries and always pleasant! They has have a complimentary happy hour and free popcorn and coffee that just added something special to the trip.
The hotel was an easy on and off the freeway. Room was well appointed. Bed was comfortable, pillows were, too. We faced the side street (I think it was Missouri Flat) and it was kind of noisy. We didn't watch TV or use the internet but it was available. The water pressure was quite low in the shower. The warmer I made the water for my shower the lower the pressure. The little coffee packets in the room were horrible tasting. Tea would have been better. But the breakfast area was open around 7AM and the coffee there was great! The towels and washcloths were scratchy. So disappointing since we paid about $150/nite for the room. If we are in the area again I would stay here but just bring my own towels.
Sami and Dani at the front desk are also so helpful and friendly. The rooms are nice and clean. The complimentary breakfast has a good selection of food to choose from. We always stay here when we are in the Placerville area.
Stayed a week and thought great value for money. Had huge room with sep dressing area, spotless with quality toiletries, hairdryer, iron, two sinks, but overlooking noisy freeway. Staff willingly changed my room when i asked, to a groundfloor room with seperate lounge area , two tvs, and terrace with patio chairs at front, however very heavy footsteps from room overhead for hours on end. Was told it was 'propably a worker'. Free Breakfast plentiful. All in all great value, ( apart from workers staying here) and good location opp shopping center across freeway.
BW Placerville is an older hotel. The rooms are dated as are the bathrooms. What makes the hotel exceptional is the staff. Rather than state the obvious, here are examples: Dan - the maintenance guy, always remembers my name, asks if I need anything. I mentioned my shower was slow to drain as I left for dinner. It was fixed before I returned with a nice note apologizing. Bruce - the breakfast guy. Ensures your pleased with your breakfast. Asks if there is something he can add to the menu and sincerely tries to accommodate. Danny - Sammy - and Andrea front desk gals. They have gone out of their way to suggest restaurants, local sights, points of interests. Special note: I left an autographed hat in my room. These folks made sure I knew they had it, and had it waiting for me upon my return. Exceptional staff keep this hotel spotless, and make it worth the price of the stay. Like I said, its old, dated but well kept. The staff go over and beyond.
The hotel is find, however it was noisy which was resolved with a phone call to the front desk. Most disappointing was the lack of elevator which was not disclosed at booking confirmation phone call or day of early morning call when I confirmed I would have a service dog. I have mobility issues as part of my disability and they put me on a lower floor without street access requiring use of 2 flights of stairs. To carry all me luggage and have to do stairs is ridiculous when they could have disclosed that they did not have an elevator and put me on a ground level floor. Very disappointed in their lack of disclosure and accommodation for disabled patrons.
At the time of checking in, I asked in particular that we need a quite room, and the staff at the counter said that the room that is provided to us is not a noisy room. It was a room facing the high way. Then time came to the early morning, when traffic came by, it was so noisy, and it felt like we are sleeping right on the high way. The room was shaking whenever there was a vehicle passing by. There was a piece of hair on the shower towel. Of course I could not notice it until I finish the shower. I feel really bad about the cleanness of the hotel facilities. The next morning, when I told the staff(different from previous one last night) about these problems, she asked did I report such that they can fix it, like changing room or provide a new towel. I felt like she did not even care about the customer experience, because obviously we could not change a room when it was around 5~6 a.m. and we had to get up by 8 a.m., and I could not call for a new towel and just be waiting naked!
This facility was a generally well maintained older facility that was staffed very well. It met my basic expectations in most areas and exceeded in some. The strength of the lodging is the value and the well trained employees. Best for a quick stay passing through or for one willing to drive to more interesting downtown venues--dining, etc.
We always stay here when visiting a few times a year. Clean, well maintained rooms. The have a lot if extras which makes it a great value. We especially like the breakfast which is included. It's run by Bruce who is friendly and accommodating. He'll do everything he can to make sure you have what you need!
Bruce working in the complimentary breakfast room was super nice greeted us as we walked in, and kept checking on us to make sure our breakfast was good and that we were satisfied! Thank you Bruce! You are what makes us continue to return to this hotel!!
Great ambience and very helpful front desk. The breakfast the next morning was very good. Bruce and Lauren went out of their way to make sure every customer had everything they needed. Would definitely stay again
After working all day we pulled back into hotel and was greeted in the lobby by a lady called “danni”. To my pleasant suprise she said “how was your day Gary?” Caught me by suprise she remembered my name! So nice! In this day of age to be recognized. Great job Danni!
Good selection and very clean. Super helpful guy (Bruce I think) that works there keeping everything stocked was concerned about everyone getting what they needed. My only complaint about the breakfast amenity is that they don't offer to go bags for people who need to take off before breakfast starts at 7, which we needed to do one day during our stay. We usually stay in Hilton properties but this is a really good place overall for a BW. I'd stay there again.
This hotel has everything you expect from a BW Plus outside of an elevator, which is coming soon. The complimentary breakfast is phenomenal. Wifi is fast, staff is friendly and helpful. Well maintained rooms. Can't complain.
We had stayed here the night before we drove into South Tahoe on a long weekend. The room was basic but worked. We had a queen bed and sofa bed. Breakfast on weekends started at 7am, which was a bit late for us who tried to hit to slope. I have elite status and when I asked for benefits, the staff said since we booked through expedia, there are no benefits for us as elite member. Actually other hotel chains always honored that to us.The room we had was quiet.
Pretty basic, even though rated as a Best Western plus. Rooms Supposedly renovated but all we saw was they had new carpet and a bed scarf. Still old tile and the water pressure was abysmal. Very old windows Let in freeway noise and the cold. Old , noisy window heater/air conditioning. Staff was wonderful though, especially check in and breakfast rooms touted as renovated, they had new carpet and a bed scarf. Still old tile and the water pressure was abysmal. Staff was wonderful though, especially check in and breakfast staff. Rate was 158 one night for a king and the next night was 98. Hate when they do that just be straightforward. Free parking, but note that all odd number rooms face a very very noisy freeway. No elevator. Request 2 nd floor if you actually want ground level. Had read from other reviews that if you are on the top floor like we were, No overhead noise proved to be true. Still have the cars though
Do not make reservations on line call the site. For the prices breakfast and the cleanliness can be way improved. When we check in my reservation was wrong, I had a pet made sure to specify during my reservations but was down graded as the site didn't know I had a pet. we pulled out the hide a bed (that was the upgrade) and crumbs and junk fell out if it. Housekeeping didn't clean it up the next day either. Room also had a funny smell. Breakfast had to be taken back to the room and reheated including coffee. They have ripped out the carpet and put in beautiful laminate flooring.
Stayed here to be close to our meeting place. Not a value. Poor management. No one cared about problems we encountered. Mexican restaurant across the street was excellent. Easy freeway access. Would only stay here for price and convenience.
Our room was very roomy and comfortable. The staff was friendly and the complimentary breakfast was a nice addition. The facility is conveniently located and I will definitely consider this as an option if I am in the area again.
Beautiful grounds. Accommodating staff! Was here with my husband for a weekend getaway. Stayed in a suite, couldn't be happier! Made our way to Lake Tahoe the next day. Pretty convenient location overall.
I'll start off with this....they have a popcorn machine in the lobby and the popcorn was tasty! The room was clean and spacious. The first thing I noticed was the wood floors...I like it. Overall....not bad. Now A couple not so nice things...I was on the second floor and whatever was on the third floor was seriously noisy. It sounded like there was a gymnastics class going on up there. Also...Our bed was wore out. While lying on it we would roll towards the sinking center of the bed. The final negative I have is the gate to the pool area. Anytime someone entered or exited the gate would slam closed and sounded like someone dropped a steel drum from the rooftop.
found a very visible blood stain on bed blanket that I could not believe the bed was even presented that way, unable to sleep due to a noisy ventilation unit, no elevator, refrigerator had to be pulled out of cabinet housing it to adjust to a cold enough temperature.
Customer service was wonderful, Danni at the Front Desk, Bruce who works in the Breakfast area and another young woman (forgot name) who also works in Dining area were extremely friendly and outgoing. Thank you!! Rooms are outdated and need a serious remodel.
Our Family gathered in Placerville over Christmas and so we stayed at the Best Western Placerville Inn.The rooms are very nive sized and even its an older property everything was clean and in good working order.Nice Shampoo and soap products Breakfast was good . lots od free prking
We had a wonderful time at the Placerville Best Western. We brought along our pet, a senior Labrador. The room was very nice and clean. On the ground floor, and near the exit and grassy area. Our night's sleep was great, the room was very quiet. We enjoyed a delicious breakfast, and began our day well rested and well fed!
Out of town for three months and stayed here. I can't say how much I appreciate all the staff for making my long business trip a pleasant experience. Thank you Charlie, the manager, for placing me in a room that was exactly what I needed. Thank you Sammi, front desk, for always making sure I had my coffee you are awesome! Thank you to Bruce, Dani and all the rest of the folks there for treating me like family during my stay.
The staff here is so accommodating. We had complicated requests and they delivered on all of them! The grounds are very well kept, beautiful, and fit the scenery of the foothills. Breakfast had so much variety too.
Every year we come up to Placerville to go to Apple Hill in the fall from our home in Marin County. Each time over the past 4-5 years we have stayed here. We have always had a nice stay. Last September, we came up with our classic Mini club (Mini Owners of America San Francisco) and all of us (except a last minute attendee) stayed here. While most of the group stayed on the top floor, ours was on the bottom right next to Missouri Flat Rd, a major connector through the area between Interstate 80 and California Hwy 49. Saying that, it was still a pretty quiet room and we slept fine. We are not overly sensitive and understand that it is not a high end facility but it is good for what it costs. It also has a quick access location, next to I-80 east. Our room was clean, well stocked and in top condition. Unlike some of the negative comments here, I can say the staff was very attentive and pleasing to deal with. One in particular, Bruce (sorry I didn't get his last name) seems to be the "go getter" and is singularly responsible to keep the breakfast area going, well stocked and clean. He's a really nice, friendly guy and quick to help if you ask. The rest of our group felt the same way and we plan to make this run to Apple Hill an annual event and we'll all be staying at the BW Placerville Inn when we do!
The room was very clean and confortable. The people that we came in caontact from the hotel were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was very good and Bruce that takes care of breakfast was very helpful and took care of everything very well.
I have been staying at this best western on and off for a month now and I couldn't ask for a better experience. Sammy at the front desk is amazing!! Always a pleasure to work with. I have stayed on every floor and all the rooms have been nice. The front desk also has a variety of alcoholic beverages to choose from. Again great place. D
Generally, I'm a big fan of Best Western hotels and the BW Plus in Placerville has many of the features that attract me: good value, good sized room, room amenities such as small refrigerator and microwave, friendly staff, free breakfast which is not fancy but nicely fuels you for the day ahead, and free WiFi that really works. HOWEVER, this hotel had one big problem: NOISE. Instead of carpeting the rooms, they have a hard floor (probably a laminate of some sort). It is probably more economical and efficient, and maybe even healthier, than carpet. It is also far less “cozy” than carpet and definitely does not provide the sound absorption that carpet does. The person in the room above us was walking back and forth a lot during the night and we could hear every step reverberate. S/he wasn't stomping or river dancing—just walking normally and keeping us awake. Like I said, I am a fan of Best Western hotels and seek them out when traveling because I can almost always count on them to meet a standard. I just don't see returning to this one unless they re-carpet or otherwise remedy the noise problem. (If it weren't for the egregious noise, I would rate this as a 4-1/2.)
Decent hotel, clean, as expected for Best Western. Didn't see an elevator which would have been handy since we were on the second floor and had quite a bit of luggage. Bed was comfortable. breakfast was good.
For the price, this place is a rip off! first of all, the room was STILL not ready for us at 4 p.m.--check in is 3 p.m. Shower had mold in the corners, around soap dish. The handle for the shower was broken so if you turned it too far, the hot water shut off. The corners in the bathroom had caked dirt in the corners from years of neglect. The real capper, though, was the side chair for the desk that had water stains where it looked like someone had wet themselves on it. Halls had that fake perfumy odor that was terrible. The breakfast room is marginally clean...got a yogurt and it was lukewarm. Some of the staff look scruffy, wrinkled and unkempt. Parking is terrible. You can hear the people on the floor above you walking all the time! The place is gross and a real hole!
Room was clean, surroundings were safe and the employees were excellent. Complementary Breakfast was delish thanks to Bruce & Lauryn who were constantly restocking all the amenities as they went out. Will surely be coming back to stay here any time Im in town. Only thing id change would be the lack if an elevator & broken hot tub!
We came to Apple Hill on a family vacation and the service was amazing! Bruce was very accommodating during breakfast making sure we had everything we needed. The rooms were clean and the pool was great. Only change I would like to see is an elevator put into the hotel. The stairs were hard with kids and suitcases.
We stayed at this Best Western to attend Gold Rush Live at James Marshal State Park and Apple Hill. The accommodations were comfortable and the staff was very helpful. I was extremely impressed with Bruce who attended to the breakfast bar on Sunday. He worked very hard to meet the needs of all the guests. He was professional, kind, and efficient. It could have been a frustrating meal because he was the only employee staffing the breakfast but his hard work and pleasant attitude was commendable. Thank you, Bruce, for your hard work.
I stayed there with my family and absolutely loved the place. Staff were so helpful and friendly. Highly recommendable. Clean rooms and location is great. Nice place to relax. We stayed there for couple of days. My family enjoyed the place too. Comfortable bed and pillows.
Always happy with reservation process, quality of hotel, cleanliness of rooms and entire grounds. Safety is a major factor in choosing a hotel and Best Western exceeds our expectations. Highly recommend this Hotel and the one in Auburn, California
Definitely the best hotel I've stayed at during my time in Placerville. I visit Placerville every month for business and decided to change my lodging. Came across this hotel online and the pictures don't do the property justice. Friendly staff to go along with the immaculate, yet traditional building. Staying here every time from now on!
We stayed here to enjoy a nice evening away. We were on the back side of the hotel against the roadside, our mistake for not requesting a different room. That wasn't he bad part. The bad part was our bathroom smelled of urine. There was mold in the shower and absolutely no water pressure in the shower. The a/c didn't work and wouldn't stay on even just as a fan. For $169 a night I would like to not smell urine in my room and to not sweat to death. We didn't want to make to make a scene in front of the other guests when checking out but there were no people at the desk as they were worried about maintaining the breakfast area. I'm very disappointed in the best western and cleanliness
On the way to Tahoe for a family reunion and stopped by this gem. Didn't think anything of it when I booked the reservation, but once I pulled up to check into my room, things changed. Super friendly staff and nice breakfast in the morning. The pool and spa were a nice way to relax after the long drive. Internet was the fastest I've used in any hotel. Only stayed here one night, but I was refreshed and ready for the rest of my drive. Also, didn't know there were nice wineries in the area. The city of Placerville and this hotel in particular are definitely a nice pit stop to Tahoe.
Don't waste your money on this place, do yourself a favor and go 2 miles down to the Holiday Inn Express in EDH. We're hosting Chilean customers this week and the hotel just called to say they messed up the reservation and have them checking out today (their flight is tomorrow). They said they don't have any rooms available for one more night and they're packing up our customers' belongings and leaving them in the lobby to get when they return from sight seeing in Tahoe.
Nice clean rooms, friendly and accommodating staff, hot breakfast and good safe location. If we revisit Placerville, we would again choose this property. A lot of shopping near by and very accessible to the freeway without freeway noise. Historic downtown is only two exits further East and a very clean and fun Indian Casino (Red Hawk) is only 2 exits West of the hotel. We checked in on Thursday and the property was booked full. Our room that night was a King standard room. The room was clean but right next to the stairwell and laundry room. There was an odor coming from outside our room in the hall way or the laundry room. Staff tried to fix the problem. In the morning though they were able to move us to another room that was a mini suite. The staff was very very accommodating, polite, nice, and friendly about the whole experience.
Nice Clean Room with a wall separating the sofa and bed! Nice!!! And I loved the lobby and the hot free popcorn available after 3 in the afternoons. I was so happy with the option of buying a glass of wine right there in the lobby! I really enjoyed the fresh fruit options and the make your waffle yourself part. Thank you!
Booked 2 rooms for 2 nights, a month in advance for a special event we are attending. Turns out we only need one room for one night now, instead of two rooms for two nights. I called today , four days before check in, to make the change. Agent says they are now booked and I cant even keep one room for a night I already booked? This makes no sense, I already had that room reserved. Didnt even suggest alternate pricing or anything. Very disappointed with this service and this hotel.
Needed early check in. Spoke to Sammi the night before and was told they were full that weekend but to call at 8:00 am the next morning. When I called, I gave my name and was told, yes we were expecting your call. And yes, they could accommodate early check in.
During this time of year, I frequently travel to South Lake Tahoe to spend quality time with my family. Usually, we stay at my mother's home to visit for a night while in Placerville before heading for the lake the next day. However, this time around, my mother was out of town visiting a family friend in LA. So my family and I had to find a place to stay. After researching for a place with quality prices, rooms and services, we found our gem in Best Western Plus Placerville. Since we are usually home at my mother's during these trips to Tahoe, my family was hoping for a place that could satisfy that vibe. When we walked into the BW's lobby, we were immediately greeted with a warm smile by the front desk, setting the tone for the stay. Once we collected our bags and headed into our room, we were so happy that the room was clean, fresh and tidied up. The beds were comfortable, spacious and clean. The bathroom didn't have any of those nasty spots that some hotels have. It was more than satisfying. It was homey. The next morning, we were once again greeted with warm smiles from the front desk before eating breakfast. The breakfast was fresh and yummy and left us with happy stomachs as we then headed towards Tahoe after. Overall, the stay at this hotel was more than satisfying. It was wholesome and complete and I am glad we were able to spend a night there.
We spent a night here while visiting the town and its neighbor towns. Upon checked in we experienced a rude customer service at the front desk. We were in the bottom floor and can hear every movement from the floor above. But the worst of all was when the alarm went off in our room at 12:25am with 2 sleeping toddlers. I took us over an hour to fall back to sleep. We couldn't wait to leave and will not be back to this hotel. We had much better experience with Airbnb the night before in the same county.
Greetings, Was on a business visit, excellent Service, breakfast, location, Beautiful court Yard with sparkling pool and hot tub. Very convenient access to freeways.Resturant which is just a hop away. The most beautiful landscape which I can say The ownership takes a lot of pride in, excellent spacious room's and outtanding house keeping. This Hotel has earned my business and I will one hundred percent recommend this hotel to all travellers. Keep up the excellent job Best Western plus placerville. Avinash Umaria.
Hotel located off Hwy 50 and the main entrance is not well marked so it took me a couple of tries before locating the driveway. The hotel has a limited view and seems tired. There was a slight mustiness odor and the decor feels dated. The receptionist said the same owner had been there for 30 years which might explain the over-all impression to a guest. A few suggestions: bottled water in the rooms, a room safe for valuables, fresh orange juice for breakfast rather than canned and larger bath towels. The good: strong hot shower, great internet & TV channel selection, clean rooms, comfortable bed and located in Placerville a great old mining town with much history and great antique shops. A good value but just needs a makeover.
Unfortunately, my wife and I had to travel to Placerville to visit a sick relative so the stay was not for fun. Having said this, Best Western Plus Placerville Inn caught wind of our situation. The staff, I could tell, made an extra effort to lift up our spirits during a sad situation. They really did help us feel better. And our room had a sliding door that opened up to the pool...rad!!!!! We'll be back (for fun next time).
Decent place. Great location right off the freeway. Easy access to many things. Check in was easy, although we did have to wait a few minutes because they were helping others. We were assigned to a room and we were given directions to the stairs. Stairs? No thank you! They do not have an elevator. So if you have trouble with stairs or dont want to drag your stuff up stairs, make sure to ask for a ground floor room. They have a few rooms with doors that open up right to the parking area, with a small little patio. Those are upgraded rooms and it seemed like people with dogs had reserved them. We did not hear any barking :) Parking was easy. They do offer a free breakfast each morning. which is nice. They had hot items as well as fruit, yogurt, pastries, juice, coffee, etc. A nice little bonus. The pool was small, but looked clean and we saw lots of people using it during the day. The jacuzzi had a layer of slime, so we didnt use it. We did sit on the pool patio area at night and enjoyed the atmosphere. The room itself was fine. Dated definitely, but clean. Bed was comfortable. Linens were nice and crisp. Refrigerator, coffee maker all included, which was nice. Those things are going away in newer hotels, so we were happy to have them. Bathroom was decent size. Tub/shower combo. Sink had a nice sized counter for your toiletries. Wifi worked well for the most part. Negatives: the noise! Road noise, super noisy A/C unit, ice machine outside room was noisy, people in rooms around us were noisy.. So I guess my main complaint was noise! Positives: every single employee we encountered was friendly and helpful. Hotel was clean. Great location!
A good night's sleep shouldn't be beyond one's expectations at any hotel, but unfortunately it was here. The hotel's location is fine, though better signage on the road would be helpful. Morning breakfast was good, and did include hot items which is always nice. Clean? Yes. Safe? Oh yes. Comfortable? Meh. Problem was, your mattresses should have been changed a long, long, long time ago. Ours was lumpy, and not conducive to sleep at all. Would be happy to stay again, as long as the hotel would be happy to buy new mattresses for its beds.
I really like to stay here ever time I'm working on the area or we have personal stay there too,Great customer service, exelente Breakfast bar, nice pool to relax after long day, Have place to work out good equipment,
Everything was well kept and the staff super friendly. Breakfast is decent, and the pool and spa are nice. AAA discount helped and the overall value outstanding. This was our first BW experience and my family were very pleased. The staff really made a difference. Oh, and the beds were great too!
Everything is perfect here from check-in to check-out. Rooms are huge, great location! The maintenance guy Dan is the best! Helped with our bags without us asking and had a smile on his face every time we saw him. We go back to this place because of the hospitality. A+...5 star...whatever you call it!
I don't know what they put in the water up there in Placerville. But this hotel seems to always do the right thing at the right time for their guests. If I need to point out specifics Dan the maintenance man and Sammy at the front desk have always taking care of my wife and I even when we are in a bind. They are patient helpful and understanding in every situation. We come back to stay at this location for this reason. And the fact that they have a 24/7 Red Hawk Casino Shuttle helps to. Thank you to everyone at this property you rock!
I enjoyed our stay at this hotel. I was visiting with a smoker who at times feels as an outcast here in CA. But at this hotel there was a nice place we could both sit and chat while he had a cigarette without impinging on anyones rites. Breakfast was more than good, with omelettes(though mass made) that were nice, eggs, cereal, toast, waffles... the usual but fresh and nice. Staff made an effort to get to know us and were very friendly. The pool and pool area seemed to be popular because of the heat. The only complaint I have is that our room was not cleaned by the evening when we returned. Apparently there had been a couple of wedding guests checked in each day and a taxing task to the housekeeping staff. Everyone apologized and in a timely fashion our room was made up. All was good
I usually never leave reviews but I couldn't resist. I stay in Best Westerns all around the world . And this one has the best customer service and wonderful front desk staff. The manager Charlie and his front desk staff made my stay so wonderful . They told me everything around the area to do and the places that were good to eat at. I would not listen to the review below me. I don't think that review is true at all. I think coming from a constant traveler, if someone has to walk five feet to get a towel and having a bad day. They probably will leave a bad review due to take it out on everyone else . This hotel has a beautiful pool and hot tub and work out center. It also has a amazing breakfast included in the morning. The rooms are so clean and I thought it was incredibly quiet. If your looking for a place to stay and want good service and quality for he price your going to pay. I recommend booking a room at this Best Western. I am so excited to come back and stay at this beautiful place and see the staff again. I had a lovely experience and look forward to coming back . Thanks again ! I included some pictures I took of my stay ! I wanted to share with. Everyone :)
First time staying at a Best Western. Only hotel that was close to family for a memorial service. Noise from traffic was loud at night. Room was not of high quality, but the bed was comfortable. My brothers room was not even cleaned during his stay and when he complained, staff did not offer a price reduction and he was given towels for him to take back to the room. Staff was friendly enough, but a little lazy. Upon leaving on our last day, I checked under the bed and saw dust and garbage from staff not cleaning very well. The manager needs to do better quality checks on staff and appearance of rooms. Upon using the pool, we had to get the towels from the lobby and were told that if we did not bring them back to the lobby, there would be a $25.00 charge per towel and they were cheap $5.00 towels. You don't get a good price for what you get, unless you count poor service and lousy cleaning of rooms.
The hotel is very easy to find. It is has a good Mexican restaurant adjacent to the property-within walking distance across the parking lot. The breakfast was good with waffles, omelets, sausage, fruit, cereal, yogurt, juice, toast, bagels, coffee/tea. The afternoon fresh popped popcorn is a nice touch. The pool area is relaxing with a spa. Rooms are clean with both a microwave and refrigerator. Also to note there are many conveniences nearby such as: pharmacies, Walmart, grocery stores, star bucks and fast food places. Will definitely stay here again if in the area.
Last minute over night stay since the hotel we originally booked (Cary house) didn't have parking to accommodate us pulling our Jeep! Great friendly staff, especially Bruce, on breakfast duty! Clean room, security cameras on parking lot which allowed us to drop the trailer and explore Placerville! Will definitely stay here again!
Stopped at the Best Western while traveling through the area on vacation. Nice location just off the expressway. The room was a nice size for our family of four, with comfortable beds, for a good nights sleep. The breakfast is above average, with a hard working attendant who was friendly and helpful. Check in/out was quick and easy.
Everything with this hotel was great. The rooms were clean, and everything worked. The superstar of this hotel though, was the front desk concierge, Sammi. My father and I were in Placerville for a wedding. We arrived Saturday morning for the 4PM wedding. When Sammi told us check-in wouldn't be until 3, I had a bit of a meltdown, freaking out that I wouldn't have enough time to get ready. That is when Sammi stepped up and went into action! She called the head housekeeper and asked for one of the two rooms I had reserved to please be ready by 1, and that she would call me by 1 if there were any problems. By 1:10, she had called me and said she had 1 room ready for me! Thanks Sammi! Without you and the housekeepers, I would've looked a hot mess for that wedding! The next morning, when I asked for recommendations for someplace that sold kitschy trinket souvenirs, Sammi directed me to the Placerville Hardware store. Great recommendation. Sammi was my superstar of my weekend Placerville trip. Thanks girl!
We stayed at this hotel (chose it based on other positive reviews) because of a family wedding in the area. The rooms were clean and the location was great for the kids (Gold Bug Mine, White water rafting, etc). Lauren and Bruce were in charge of the breakfast and they were amazing. They worked hard to make sure the food items were stocked and were very friendly!! We're looking forward to staying here again for our next adventure!!
This Hotel is located right off the highway to South Lake Tahoe. We frequently stay over so we can get an early start up the hill in the morning. Staff are friendly and helpful. Rooms are spacious, quiet and clean.
We stayed there once before in November 2016. It's changed management and the changes are apparent. Good job. To our surprise, Bruce, was still a one man show for the breakfast and what a great job he does. Glad he's still there. A good stay.
Stayed at Best Western Plus @ Placerville for a long weekend for a family wedding. Had a wonderful time!! Rooms are super clean and comfortable. All come with microwave and small refrigerator that keeps drinks extremely cold unlike most hotel refrigerators. While we didn't use the pool it was very well maintained and the families we saw using it had a wonderful time. The daily breakfast buffet was excellent!! Bruce and Lauren kept the food hot and very available. Never ran out of coffee in the urns either. Wonderful people you have working the breakfast area. Extremely polite and friendly. Constantly engaging the guests. Will definitely stay here again!!!
The room was fine-loved the black out curtains for a good sleep. The staff was very friendly and attentive, especially at breakfast in the morning. Bruce, who works there, was a great help in the morning with the breakfast and super friendly and kind. Thanks for a nice stay overall.
We love coming here cause Sammy always takes good care of us!!! We keep back to this location for the simple fact that we get treated like royalty! All thanks to the above and beyond service that Sammy provides us!
This is your typical Best Western with good, clean, spacious rooms. The property is well kept with a nice swimming pool. The free breakfast is standard fare, i.e waffles, cereal, sausage and pre-made omelettes. Decent but not restaurant quality. Everything in the room worked fine, and even had a refrigerator, microwave and coffee maker. The only negative was the water pressure. There was enough to shower but it took a while to rinse the soap off. One wonders if it really saves any water.
Very nice hotel. Staff was very nice and attentive. Room was large and comfortable. Bed was very comfortable. We used the coffee pot and microwave. It's nice to wake up and grab a cup of coffee. Check in and check out were very easy and quick. Would definitely stay here again.
Everything was perfect! Upon arriving we were met with friendly and informative staff. It so happened we arrived during happy hour and was happily offered two complimentary drinks and allowed to take them to our room. The room was very clean and comfortable. The bathroom amenities were top quality and plentiful. The atmosphere was quiet and the air was clean and fresh. The grounds were very well maintained. We will be returning to this wonderful Placerville, CA location.
We enjoyed our stay at this hotel. It was clean, comfortable and well-maintained. It is several miles our of Placerville and located along Highway 50. So beware, you may want to ask for a room away from the freeway side. The pool is very nice as is the public areas. Breakfast was one of the best "free" ones we have encountered - many great choices - and the breakfast room is very accommodating. Parking lot is large and free. A great option was the Mexican Restaurant located adjacent to the motel. We enjoyed happy hour drinks there and were wishing we had time for dinner. The Inn is close to Placerville, Gold Bug Mine, Marshall Gold Discovery Park, and Folsom and surrounding towns. We would stay there again in a heartbeat.
Our stay at this was hotel was awesome! The fellow on The front desk was cheerful and helpful! Our room on the ground floor was roomy and clean. A little ways away from the historical town. It was nice and quiet. Shower was good. Would definitely stay here again!
All staff is obviously well trained in customer service with a smile and welcoming attitude, from groundskeepers to housekeepers to office staff !! Clean rooms with everything working and a great restaurant on site ! What more could you want :) Oh, our stay included a very nice breakfast and complimentary happy hour (Yippee) T Shane/ A Nelson
clean , polite and wellcome service , big rooms - no complains at all !! more - Bruce and Lauren did a GREAT job hosting breakfast. apreiate it very much. self service laundry, small nice pool . 10. 10.
I have stayed here many times as I paddle the American River. Bruce is always fantastic and he and Lauren work hard to make sure busy breakfast's go well on the weekends. He deserves a raise! Or time off as I always see him there. The pool and hot tub are great although the pool should be heated when you are spending $170.00 a night on an April Weekend and it's 75 degrees outside.
Our stay was perfect it was short and sweet. Very clean and all staff was very helpful and friendly. Good breakfast in the morning and Bruce was very helpful and friendly. We would definitely stay there again
Had a very late-night check-in, no problems. Room was clean. Housekeeping was quick in and out. Nice spread for breakfast,, and Bruce and Lauren were extremely attentive and cheerful. ++ to staff! Enjoyed my stay. One no-so-great occurrence was a late night fire alarm/evacuation, but I don't believe it was Best Western's fault. Fire department said someone was smoking in their room and triggered a false alarm. The front desk was apologetic and handled the incident well. Upside is I know the smoke alarms work! Great place to stay in P-ville.
This hotel is a great value. They have laminate floors rather than carpeting which gives the rooms a classy look. Very comfortable and quiet, and a huge selection of hot foods at the breakfast bar. I will stay here again. It's right off highway 50, yet I did not hear the traffic form my room.
We stay here two or three times a year to visit relatives. This property is easy to get to off the freeway and has a nice Mexican restaurant next door. It's reasonably priced for the area and I recommend it. Breakfast is included and the food choices include omelets & sausage, cereal, fresh waffles, yogurt, fresh fruit, packaged pastries and coffee and juices.
We were more than satisfied with the room, although would have prefered carpeting. Our only complaint was the breakfast service. It ends at 9:00 a.m. but they run out of things well before that and if you are even a few minutes late they won't even give you a piece of fruit.
The staff and service is wonderful. We weee greeted with courtesy late at night and awoken with vibrant staff in the breakfast area....and it's Easter! There is a variety of choices of warm food and food on the run. The staff were constantly cleaning and checking/replenishing food. The room was well equipped....nice conditioner. :)
Really great service! Had good experiences all around here. Specifically found Bruce to be especially helpful, friendly, and attentive to the many spills my children made at breakfast! He had such a positive attitude, always understanding, and never making them feel bad for the mishaps.
The only bad thing about this place is 3 floors and no Elevator. I am sure they will put you on the ground floor if you need to. The room was spot less. The Fire place was so hot that the room heated very fast. The Continental breakfast had everything. The staff made sure everything was fully stocked. My family and I will definitely visit their again. What was great was coffee, drinks and bathroom supplies where available 24 hrs. 5Stars. Also has a weight room.
We came here to stay for the weekend for my sissy birthday. This place is nice. It was easy to get to. It has surrounding places to go around there. But when we arrived a young lady helped us. She was very nice. She explained everything to us. She even went out her way to explain Redhawk casino, which is why we came in the first place. This place is probably like 2 or 3 exists from redhawk. So if u want to be somewhere close to the casino this is the place for you.
Hotel is just off CA HWY 50 - about 3 miles from downtown Placerville. Clean - however the bathroom showed age with some peeling wallpaper. Friendly staff and a reasonable free breakfast in the morning. They have coffee all day. Ample parking. Some noise from HWY 50 when loud vehicles come around. Would stay here again
Very nice location. The property is very well maintained and the room is clean and the staff is excellent! In particular a shout-out needs to go out to Bruce the breakfast catering expert. The guy works harder than anyone I've ever seen at keeping the breakfast clean and stocked. Like others the only reason I didn't give a five star rating is the poor WiFi in some areas and the lack of an elevator.
My wife and I were some of the luckier guests who had a room on the first floor. This place has no elevator to floors two and three. Otherwise, I would have rated the hotel five stars. Amenities were excellent such as free breakfast, free Wi-Fi etc. One of their employees, Bruce, provided outstanding service in the dining room. His comportment and demeanor were both excellent. Four things I really liked about our room were a laminated floor, fireplace, bedding and in room coffee. Having a laminated floor instead of carpet was obviously easier to clean thoroughly. The bed didn't have one of those bedspreads that other hotels reuse repeatedly before they're considered dirty. Bedding was changed daily. Most hotels supply just enough individual packages of coffee to make two cups. I asked for and received enough individual packages to make several cups of coffee everyday. My Mom lives in Placerville so I will be gladly coming back when I visit her.
On our way to Placerville, we stayed here for the convenience of location. We were hesitant because of the appearance, but were surprised. The shower was the best, the self serve breakfast was so impressive and the worker, Bruce, was so friendly! He kept the food area perfectly clean, well stocked and was so nice to visit with. Thank you Bruce for your hospitality! We met him on Sunday, 1/29 and said I'd give him the best review that he deserves!!
Everything was simply the best! But the best experience of all was the continental breakfast thanks to BRUCE who completely, outdid himself by providing all guests with enough and freshly made food, nobody went to their rooms hungry! Believe me, he kept running back and forth bringing fresh food to all and best of all, always with a big smile on his face, GOD BLESS YOU BRUCE! MY FAMILY AND I WILL GO BACK TO PLACERVILLE BECAUSE OF YOUR HOSPITALITY!!!! THANK YOU SO SO MUCH FOR ALL YOUR KINDNESS. Signed: a very happy family
Rooms were super clean and the breakfast was delicious. There was something for everyone. So many choices! Bruce did such a great job keeping all the drinks and food stocked and the breakfast room clean!!
We planned a overnight stay at the Best Western on New Years Eve so we could stay up late at Red Hawk Casino without driving. The free shuttle was a wonderful and appreciated bonus. This is a comfortable and well maintained property with amazing staff. I look forward to returning.
bring your own breakfast unless you came to gamble because we had to wait for cold eggs and sausage. also had to wait for hot coffee. Four thermos sat empty while attendant sat in office room until we went looking for help. Mattress was sagging and uncomfortable.
Location of this hotel (below the current snow line) was the main reason we selected this hotel . We found the caring service oriented staff excellent. We would not hesitate to stay here again when we revisit family near Placerville. The Mexican restaurant just up the hill had a full menu and good service too.
We booked directly with hotel and was able to request an upper floor (highly recommended). Check in went smoothly, thanks to Quinn and the additional perk of happy hour (2 drinks per room) between 5 and 7 pm was a nice touch The room was clean; we stayed in a King with fireplace. Breakfast was ok and was amply replenished. Summer and breakfast guy worked hard to please. Only downside we experienced was the quality of extra blanket provided could have been cleaner. All in all, would stay again if our travels take us back to Placerville.
Everything went well during our visit. Great staff upon check-in and check-out. It was as expected and we have stayed here before and will again if necessary in the future. Breakfast was your typical BW breakfast. Easy in and out of the parking lot.
The breakfast was poor and unappetizing. There was no access to the second floor from the lobby area. Entry had to be made at one end of the building or the other. At check in we were directed to the end of the building that was most distant to our rooms.
everyone was very nice and professional but the one that stood out was Bruce in the breakfast room, he worked hard and went out of his way to see that everyone was happy and had what they needed. my room was noisy after 9 oclock becase it was across from the laundry elevator and the maids used it alot and the tile floor at the begining of the entrance ran buy my room so I had to hear every one that came and went with luggage so if you stay here get a room on inside. other than that it was a nice night stay, and say hi to Bruce at breakfast he will treat you right.
We needed a place to stay for one night as we were picking up an exotic parrot in Camino. This was perfect. Our room was spacious, clean and comfortable. Great breakfast in the morning before heading off.
Quiet -- and we were on the ground floor on the side closest to US 50! The breakfast was good (both as to quality and choices), and the rooms were comfortable, spacious, and not just clean but neat and uncluttered. The staff were unfailingly both approachable and friendly -- they were as individuals, hospitable and welcoming.
Tina and Sammie are very helpful and professional. Made us feel welcome and relaxed. Great service and efficient as well. They seem considerably more kinda and professional than some of the morning counter staff. Breakfast is great, a hard working lady making sure it was stoked properly, looked great.
I highly recommend Best Western as one of the few Places in Placerville, that meet the standard of what i would consider Excellent accommodations. Convenient, easily accessible right of the free way , affordable, very clean, accommodating, and attractive.
Friendly staff will welcome you to this hotel. Very clean and pet friendly. Breakfast is prepared by Bruce who warmly welcomes you. Breakfast includes both hot and cold selections with coffee, tea, hot coco and juices. Enjoyed the in-room wall fireplace. Red Hawk Casino will drive you to and from this hotel. Just don't stay in a room near the pool as some rude guests will bang the metal gate all night and early morning as a short cut to their rooms.
The hotel took dogs and had great amenities- good Wi-Fi and friendly staff- very comfortable rooms the breakfast had a wide variety of good food, they even had a happy hour- I will stay again next trip to PLacerville
My entire stay was not good, staff except for Frances was unprofessional and not very caring or helpful. The bed in this room is on the wall that has the hallway door slamming during the day and all during the night with guest coming and going. They need to move the bed to the opposite wall and it would help a lot and the bed would NOT move when that outside door is slammed, Yes I have reported it to several employees including the Manager
We stayed at the Best Western Inn in Placerville on Thanksgiving and where pleasantly surprised with the accommodations The room was clean and for the price point we where very pleased Location has easy access. Breakfast could use a bit of help in healthier food choices
I thought this was a very nice hotel, and since it has little to no competition in the area, it will do just fine. Yes, the building is older, and the walls are a little thin, but I won't hesitate to stay here again.
My wife and I were comfortable and very satisfied with the clean, quiet and occupant friendly room. Our reason for a Placerville stay was to look with a realtor for a home in the PLacerville area. We were successful!.
Excellent experience with the property, the staff, the amenities, and the location. It's my place to stay in Placerville. I would advise getting a room on the upper floor to avoid a herd of elephants tromping across the ceiling. I have previously staying on the upper floor and enjoyed a more restful night. Again, the sleep quality was not due to the room, rather it was the loud guest in the room above mine.
We made great time from San Francisco airport, to visit family in the area. We stopped at the hotel and were told that someone was still in out room, (After check out) and no other rooms were open. It seamed odd, because the lot was pretty empty. When we returned we expected to see a line of people checking in but no, just us. Other than that the rook was load with the traffic on the road. We had a enjoyable 2 day visit.
Without a doubt this was the best hotel we have visited on a three week road trip. Affordable, and from the moment we arrived at the checkin desk were were made to feel at home. Ours was a meticulously clean room with everything sparkling and a new feel to the spacious room. A perfect stay thank you?
I stayed here for a week and found it as one of the best place to stay near or in Placerville, CA. Staff is friendly... food is good. .. I stayed in a room where I was having a balcony, I use to sit and having tea and coffee sip there early morning with natural scene in front. I recommend it as the best.
We went there for a car show and when we asked if they could put us in a room where we could see our cars, they were very accommodating! We got the perfect room upstairs that had a little balcony. Was so nice to sit out there and enjoy a glass of wine in the evening! Plus we were situated where there was no freeway noise which made for a restful sleep. The queen executive suite was so comfortable with the little couch and chair set up in the other room. Loved it! And the Happy Hour on Saturday night was an extra bonus we didn't expect! It was also convenient to have the good quality Mexican Restaurant right next door where we could walk to dinner. Thanks so much Placerville Inn! We'll be back for sure!
We stayed here for two nights for a family wedding. It was old and run down. Overbooked and the staff was unhelpful with different items. It's the only place around the area so it was full (overbooked). PS we did check the bed and room for bugs, it looked good but both of us got bit during the night.
Bruce in the breakfast room, Dee at the front desk, and a young man at the front desk who got maintenance to pay attention to a screeching shower head (on our third try) were the bright spots in our stay. Oh, and housekeeping needs a new vacuum cleaner! Or any vacuum cleaner, in fact...
This hotel is in a very good location, close to pretty much all city areas. It is clean, was quiet (near the room I stayed in), a very helpful staff and is right next door to a great Mexican restaurant. The included breakfast is very good, lots of options.
Rooms have had furniture replaced as well as new paint and carpet it's an older hotel that has been updated. You will have a comfortable stay here. The beds are comfortable and breakfast is comparable to most chains.
Excellent place to stay for a group retreat. Meeting room was large, had tables and chairs and audio/video equipment. We rented 10 rooms and were given use of the room at no charge. I had a question about the payment of all 10 rooms which took quite awhile and the person at the desk was very helpful and patient and friendly. We got the problem worked out (not their doing).
Academic trip to Placerville with my granddaughters and wife. Stayed at Best Western and it was only OK. Staff was very friendly, and helpful. Bruce, the breakfast attendant was very nice, and especially attentive to our being satisfied. Went the extra mile. The rooms were paper thin. VERY noisy. Problem was not the neighbors, but the very poor construction which seemed to amplify noises. Glad we didn't HAVE to get 10 hours of sleep. Staff, very good.
Would not stay at this Best Western again. We were both disappointed. The room smelled bad, like stall cigarettes. Never did find the exercise room. It was a bit confusing on how to get around. Hopefully you will improve these things.
Very Busy Hotel, it was very pleasant and nice surroundings. The traffic noise was a bit bothersome, but we still slept soundly. I personally did not care for the pillows but I am very picky and had taken one of my own, so it was fine.
One friendly front desk person, hope she's the one to help you . We weren't that lucky. "I don't have time for your problems" this comment was made to my auntie asking for a first floor room due to a heart condition.
We hit the breakfast this morning early, it was packed with 30 people eatting. Bruce was in and out delivering the food supply with a smile. Everything was stocked and clean. He made our morning....Thank you Bruce.
checked in the beds were not ready, staff took care of it within 10 minutes. The staff was apologetic and courteous. the staff explained they were waiting for bed drapes and needed to get more, other than this glitch at the check-in our stay was comfortable and beds were comfortable and room was clean and everything worked.
The front desk called me about an hour before I was to check in to try to move me to a different room with only one bed because they I guess had overbooked themselves. For $180, I expect the room I requested in the first place because I obviously booked it for a reason, but maybe that's just me. The hot tub was absolutely disgusting. It stunk of algae and was filthy. The pool needed a cleaning too. There are no elevators, and we had to use the stairs to carry all of the family's belongings and our baby stroller and baby to the room, or walk around the entire building. Normally I wouldn't complain about something like this, but for the price, really, put in an elevator. Are you kidding me? You're obviously not spending the money on cleaning your amenities. Nor are they spending it on staffing, which leads me to the breakfast experience. No napkins, no coffee, filthy, sticky, dirty, empty tables. I couldn't even clean our table myself with a napkin. I had to go to the front desk and get them to find the one staff member that was assigned to the breakfast area. When he got there he was extremely nice and helpful, but explained that he was the only one working on the shift. He was sweating profusely, through his clothing even, because he was so overwhelmed. Again, this is my experience for a $180 Best Western Plus, that serves breakfast and boasts a hot tub and pool. This is the worst Best Western I have ever encountered. I cannot believe it is still functioning. It is outrageously overpriced for how horrible it is, and I can tell the only reason they can do that is because of the location. The owners should be ashamed of themselves. I doubt they care though, or it wouldn't look like this in the first place. I hope people read these reviews and stop going there. Maybe then they'll do something. If I were anyone, reading this, my advice would be to take a ride into Cameron Park. It's about another 15 minutes away or so, but worth the mileage. There's a very nice Motel 6 there. It's clean, amenities are kept up with, and the service is wonderful. You won't get breakfast, but at this rate, who cares, just stop at one of the many restaurants around there and grab something before going home. I usually try to be positive with reviews, but this was absolutely ridiculous. $180 for that. What a complete waste of money.
As stated earlier, I was called about an hour before my check in to ask if I would move to a room with one bed vs. 2, when I needed 2 beds, so that's why I booked that room - very unprofessional. Handle your overbooking and your problems on your own. Don't get guests involved and try to put them out because you're disorganized. Again, the hot tub was absolutely disgusting. It stunk like algae and was filthy. The pool was dirty also, needed a good cleaning - not very enjoyable at all. During breakfast the tables were dirty, coffee pots were all empty, and there weren't any napkins so that we could clean our table ourselves. I had to go to the front desk to get someone to find help. One man came over, visibly exhausted, sweat pouring off of him and soaking his shirt while he wiped the tables, got more napkins, and ran to make more coffee, all the while apologizing and explaining that he was the only one there. This is what you get for a $180 room. We would've been better off driving to Cameron Park to stay like we did two years ago. I am so disappointed and regret going through with this hotel stay.
No BW Plus qualities. Breakfast foods not replenished; staff had to go outside across the driveway to get items. No basics like English muffins. Multi-story building with no elevator. Stairway has doors making it difficult to navigate with luggage. Staff at check-in were nice.
They put us in a room with 1 king bed that was supposed to sleep 4 people?? After changing rooms the new one air conditioning didn't work. Wall are paper thin and the doors have a huge gap under so you can hear everything in the room next door. I was awake all night and miserable the next day. I should have figured it out when they have ear plugs at the checkin desk... and to top it off over charged me by $60.
The experience was the best hotel nights stay we'd experienced in a long time. I always have been pleased with Best Western, but BWPlus Placerville was definitely at top of the chart. Rooms, Staff and services were very good. thank you
Chris at front desk was there from check-in to check-out and he was above exceptional. We had room 212 by the pool that was very nice with cold frig. ( did not have to turn on) and microwave. We really liked seeing laminated floor - not carpet. Breakfast was just ok - Happy Hour was great with choices of water, soda, beer, wine. In the lobby is yummy popcorn. Myself, daughter and grandson has a relaxing fun time.
Stay at ANY other hotel than this one. The walls are paper thin, and even if you are a person tolerant of noise, your neighbor probably will not be. Be prepared to have the slightest noise you or your family make reported to the front desk and have grumpy people banging on your shared wall. I would not recommend to anyone that they stay at this hotel.
Very Nice rooms and kept very clean. It's very easy to get on and off the freeway. They have very a good breakfast. All of the personal were very helpful and seemed very happy to be working there. We will stay there again, if we are in town.
Room was spacious and quiet, Inn is convenient to Hwy 49 and historic gold country area both north and south. A mile away from Placerville and a mile west of Apple Hill. Staff was very helpful, breakfast was ample and always well stocked - Thanks Bruce! - we'll stay here again.
Traveling through, so called 800 number from Tahoe to make a reservation. Had a difficult time with the clerk regarding rates, accommodations, but like BW so confirmed. We arrived after dark, so found the hotel difficult to locate- signage is scarce. Check-in was friendly. Both rooms were spacious, beds very comfortable. I liked that the floor was carpet free, but found later that that did not mean clean, when I saw the bottom of my feet! Great amenities in room- good size refrigerators, microwave and really liked the hand held shower. Comfortable bed, but Noise level was awful due to the location of the room, which was next to the entrance/exit door. It seemed to vibrate the bed whenever someone came and went. Very nice breakfast room, good variety, but poor set-up as food was prepared in another location and the poor manager had to keep coming and going across the driveway in high heat, dripping in sweat, restocking the food. Quite unappetizing. Check out clerk refused to give me a print out of charges, said it was sent hen I made reservations. I still have not received a print out.
We attended a wedding nearby and needed a place to stay. Unfortunately, there are not many options in this area. Its a Best Western, which I find to be a very low budget hotel. The carpets is dirty, the sink didn't work and the pool/spa area was dirty. I would never return unless it was absolutely the only option.
Bad experience. Unclean rooms, horrible mattress. Unhelpful staff. Would not stay again. Breakfast was sorely lacking....garbage cans overflowing in breakfast area...yogurts locked up in fridge and inaccessible to guests. Slow responses to requests.waited over 6 hrs for towels and a blanket and had to request a 2nd time and go pick them up myself in the lobby.
California cozy lobby, with complimentary cocktail and hearty breakfast. Every staff member made an impression with authentic engaging personality and efficient service. My daughter commented on the room's spaciousness and we slept very soundly. Best Western Placerville was our perfect gateway to amazing El Dorado and Tahoe adventures. Thanks
Bruce, the on site manager of the breakfast room is outstanding. He is on top of everything making sure the food is fresh and well stocked, the dishes and other supplies are well stocked and in order. His manner is very pleasant and professional. He deserves special recognition (and a raise or bonus) from Best Western Management. Bruce at the Best Western Placerville Inn is a star.
I go rafting in the area every summer. I used to go camping but decided to try the Best Western with my family last year. The experience was very relaxing and positive. We came back and brought another family this year. Highly recommended!
Nothing exceptional, at best an average hotel. The breakfast is not as good as a Holiday Inn Express breakfast or a Hampton Inn one. The beds and pillows are average or maybe a little below average. The staff is pretty good but the manager is not terribly interested in satisfying customers. Do not expect too much.
A well-maintained motel is the Gold Country area. Easy access to downtown Placerville eateries and Gold Country sights. Comfortable beds and very good breakfast offerings.Would recommend this motel for a good night's rest.
We stayed here on our way back to the San Francisco Bay Area fro Lake Tahoe. The property is in a convenient location off the freeway. The landscaping is very pretty with blooming roses and giant hibiscus. There is a small pool and patio area and our room's sliding door opened onto it, with a bistro table & chairs for our room. The room itself was spacious and had a frig, coffee maker, and microwave. The hotel offers 2 drinks per room during "happy hour". There was a wonderful hot breakfast that was hosted by Bruce, who was concientious and pleasant. We will definitely return and recommend this property.
Nice room and great service! The agents at the desk were very helpful. Jeff - the breakfast guy - was amazing! He worked super hard and when someone thanked him for something, his cheerful response was, "My pleasure!"
No complaints about breakfast! Man in charge was great and kept it all up and overall very good. Room was clean but only a bath towel and wash cloth for a handicapped room! Office forgot to call housekeeping to deliver more so called housekeeping myself and they took care of everything. Our door would not close on its own, you had to use the night lock on door to keep it closed. Not good! Not acceptable for amount of money charged.
Very nice, clean, good-looking hotel on the far outskirts of Placerville. The linens and everything were very clean, the staff was very friendly and nice. Very pleasant pool area with a hot tub. And, after a good night's sleep, a great breakfast: eggs, make your own pancakes all in a pleasant dining area.
There was a gentleman working the breakfast buffet the day of our stay. I would just like to say he went above and beyond the call of duty to make sure everyone had food and beverage. His name was Bruce, again thanks for the great service. Glen Cheh Day n nite transportation
Nice clean rooms, great service, decent breakfast. Pet fee should be changed to a damage deposit that is refunded after room is checked or lowered to $10. Per pet to cover the clean up bags and pet area
Good place to stay right on the highway but still quiet. Excellent restaurant on site. The beds were very comfortable and after a good nights sleep we could enjoy a good breakfast included in the price.
A nice, clean hotel with a staff that is friendly and working hard. They are obviously upgrading the facility in terms of carpet, etc. Rooms are spacious. Ask for a quiet room away from the highway...but in the busy season you may not get it. We travel all the time, this hotel was a good value compared to many and the staff seemed to genuinely care. Give it a try!
didn't receive AAA discount until morning check out because was the last 3 rooms, rooms need outlets by the bed, need sink drains freed up, internet didn't work in the room, internet worked in the lobby, door handle to breakfast room from the hallway was not functioning
best hotel in placerville by far......nice breakfast ....i.highly recommend the staff and ownership..very clean rooms with a pool and hot tub .very easy access to hwy. 50 and stores, restaurants, halfway between sacramento and lake tahoe
This motel is just fine for most travelers, but is a bit pricey for this neck of the woods ($162/night King w/ balcony). Its location is convenient and it has an outdoor pool/spa. While it does not offer a bar/lounge on property it is immediately adjacent to Casa Ramos, a nice Mexican restaurant with a dedicated bar.
found the room, hotel and grounds very difficult to navigate in wheelchair. carpet stained and generally the room felt depressing. Staff, especially Sarah, were very pleasant and friendly. Hotel and grounds need to be updated
We were planning our wedding in Placerville, and there are not many options for hotels there. Best Western Plus Placerville Inn was the most conveniently located and nicest hotel around--though, again, not much local competition. When we were discussing the reservation with the hotel staff about 6 months before the wedding date, we were told that if we booked enough rooms under our group we could use the large conference room for our after party. About 2.5 weeks before the wedding, we were told that the room was no longer available because it was being remodeled. This was very disappointing, as we had fulfilled the required number of reservations and had been planning our after party. As a consolation for this sudden change, we were offered use of a smaller meeting room and pool for as long as we wanted both nights. While we were initially disappointed, this arrangement actually worked out quite well. The hotel staff let us use the meeting room and pool area and never bothered us once--despite the fact that we probably got a couple of noise complaints. So, I must tip my hat to the staff and management at Best Western for offering us those two party venues and letting us do our thing. Even if they had offered nothing we would not have had much recourse besides making our guests make other, less convenient arrangements and leaving a bad review, so we were very happy that things worked out as well as they did.
The motel staff was great and knew what they were doing. I think that we stayed next door to some newly weds as the noise was very loud. The food that was served for breakfast was very good and they was plenty of it.
Family came from all over to celebrate Mom's 80th birthday. We went Rafting for 2 days in Coloma. This was an easy drive to the river. Everyone loved the pool. The place was being renovated so we had to stay on 3rd floor but it only required 1 flight of stairs so no big deal. When my aunt got hurt they moved her to a street level room without a problem.
My mom and I stayed at the Best Western while attending my niece's wedding. Even though our room was next to the main entrance, which could get noisy with people coming and going, the hotel was excellent. It had spacious, clean rooms. Ours had a little patio in front where we spent the morning, before the heat arrived, drinking our morning beverages and reading. The hotel is close to U.S. and was easy to find.
We visited Placerville for my cousins wedding. The hotel was clean with a courteous staff. Bruce did an amazing job with breakfast. It was fresh and constantly restocked. Very impressed~! Would stay here again~!
My wife and I had a great room, talked with very friendly people at the registration desk and enjoyed a very nice breakfast. I would like to thank Bruce for being so helpful when I needed information regarding which would be the best way to continue our trip. We'll definitely stay again if we're out that way. Thank you to all the staff.
From the moment we got there every person we spoke to be it at the front destroy or on the room phone they were incredibly helpful and friendly. We (mostly me) might have even bugged them a bit due to our schedule (we were much later to arrive than intended) but they were a fantastic, Wonderful, helpful and friendly staff. Truly will stay no where else anytime we're at red hawk. One of my overall favorite hotel chains in general.
My daughter and I stayed here one night, in town for a baseball tournament. The room was big and clean. You could see they are in the process of replacing carpet. Ours was new. The included breakfast was good. Bruce was very attentive to the needs of the customers. I would stay again...
We have stayed at this hotel over the past several years, We have several hotel rooms booked for an annual family reunion, it has always been clean, offers a great breakfast selections and has always had a friendly staff. Would recommend to anyone needing to stay in the area for one night to many as the location is great for your stay in this part of the state
I have already listed my concerns. Please review the other page. I feel this customer feedback is far too long. I would not stay at this property again for several reasons. One difficult to get access to. The noise from the main road was loud.
Heading to river rafting and instead of making the trip in from San Jose, we decided to spend the night at the BW in Placerville. Very smooth checkin. Room was clean and spacious. Breakfast by Bruce was well stocked. Pool area looked nice. I would stay here again.
It was a quick one night stay. We had just finished river rafting and needed a place to stay. The breakfast was good, jacuzzi nice, beds comfortable. The only thing wrong was no elevators. Hard to carry all your luggage
The hotel was close to Red Hawk Casino and Hangtown Placerville. We enjoyed the town but would have preferred a newer, and better-arranged hotel. This particular BW was older with no elevator and was confusing to navigate through. Needs renovation.
Bruce who ran the breakfast was the best we've ever encountered on all of the many road trips we've made. He went above and beyond --asking each individual groups what they needed. Several times he went back into the kitchen and made extra scramble eggs as requested. Truly the best!!!
Bruce did a great job at making sure everyone was fed with the complimentary breakfast. The rooms were clean and the staff was courteous. There is also great mexican restaurant located right next door.
Overall we had a great stay here. We had to switch rooms since our first room was adjacent to a conference room that was a bit loud, and the staff was very accommodating and helpful. The rooms were very clean and nice and they have those remote controls that can easily be disinfected which is a great added amenity. The breakfast is beyond what most hotels offer, which I liked, and there was plenty of parking available. My one complaint was the cleanliness of the pool area. There were cigarette butts littered around the pool, and the water was a bit murky with a little bit of bugs/hair floating around. Maybe their filter was on the fritz, I don't know. Otherwise though, it was a stellar experience.
Have stayed at this hotel many times and was very pleased with all the improvements, much nicer rooms and breakfast. Front desk people awesome. Michael got our group of 8 rooms togeather and many other favors.
Stayed 5 nights in June during the El Dorado County Fair. I must say the staff were fantastic. Dee at front desk was a delight and Bruce the breakfast guy worked his tail off tending to everyone's needs with a smile. Housekeeping were also very kind and helpful. My doggies had a fantastic grassy area to potty however I ran into a few dog owners who didn't have their pets leased. Not the hotel's fault but bad dog owners as the hotel has pet policies and dogs must always be leashed when about the property. There is a nifty Mexican restaurant next door within walking distance. The room could definitely use some updates especially the carpet/wallpaper. I believe they're currently in the process of upgrades as I noticed work going on here and there. Overall a nice stay.
Michael at the front desk was a great help when my wife asked if our room could be changed to one above ground level. Bruce did an outstanding job with the breakfast meals each day. The dining room was clean and well kept and he opened the room on time each day, the food was always hot & fresh.
The Best Western hotel in Placerville, California is a great place to stay. The staff is friendly and efficient and went out of there way to make this a pleasant stay. The breakfast was good with plenty of variety. The room was clean, comfortable and all amenities worked. I would not hesitate to stay here again
The room was very nice & roomy. We enjoyed our stay & nice that it was right next door to Casa Ramos where we were having dinner with friends. We would stay here again if in the area! We stayed on rooms away from freeway & it was very quiet.
We stayed here years ago and did not ever think we would return. We stayed last night as we were in town for a 50th celebration. The gentleman at check in was so accommodating and kind. We stayed on the upper floor (no elevator...ugh). Noise from the freeway was loud but not unbearable. Hotel needs complete makeover, but service makes up for a lot
We visit Placerville at least twice a year to visit our son and his family. We always stay at this hotel. The staff (and I mean everyone of them) is friendly, helpful and extremely competent. The rooms are spacious, comfortable and clean. In the afternoon we sit on the patio and enjoy the hot tub and beautiful flowers. Placerville is a quaint town with good restaurants and shops. Plus it is close to Sacramento, Jenkinson Lake, Apple Hill and Lake Tahoe.
Very nice hotel for the area. Good location to drive to rafting, hiking, etc. was able to have pizza delivered weed to room. Room was roomy with room for four comfortably. Would definitely stay there again.
We came to Placerville Best Western for a wedding with a large family group. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and the town of Placerville. This is a great hotel, everyone was nice and friendly, rooms were clean. Breakfast was great, staff was very helpful.
I've stayed at many places in this area and Best Western Placerville is my favorite. The staff is friendly and helpful. Soon there will be new hardwood floors and bedding. In the fall and elevator will be installed. They have a great meeting room that is across from their entrance. High ceilings and plenty of chairs. I've rented it several times. I've been staying at this location for years.
I've been to many Best Western Hotels and have to say that Bruce runs the best continental breakfast. The food was fresh, the equipment clean and the equipment settings set so your food doesn't burn. Bruce is gracious, friendly and on top of keeping things organized and ready for each guest.
This was a last minute reservation and we were so happy to find a room. The hotel was close to the freeway and easy to find. The check-in went smoothly, but we were charged more than we were quoted- that was resolved by the night check-in girl, Kayla. She was so helpful and solved the problem.Breakfast was great, overall, a great experience!
I'm not a big fan of Best Western hotels, but after a recent stay at a Best Western close to Disneyland, I thought I'd give this one a try. This one is not even close to the Disneyland location. Property is in some need of updates. Walls are so thin you hear everything. It sounded like the people in the room above us would fall through the ceiling when they walked around it was so loud. Pool closes at 10pm but on a Saturday night at 11:30pm, I had to phone the front desk to ask them to kick the people out that were in the hot tub/pool area. There was a large group of people out there partying and were extremely loud. When I found out the pool closed at 10pm I was a little irritated that it took a phone call for the staff to do something. This group was so loud there was no way you could get any sleep. The location is very close to the freeway and easy to find. In Placerville, there aren't many choices of places to stay, so I guess this is probably one of the only options.
Kayla and Jeff gave us excellent costumer service! Thank you both..:) The breakfast was very good and Kayla made sure to fill all items so all were able to enjoy. I will definitely go back to this hotel.!
Great location but needs some TLC. We stayed for a wedding in the area. The hotel interior was very worn and tired. It served its purpose. Our room had a smoke odor to it and the patio had not been cleaned. Still remnants of a party
Hotel very updated, decorated, clean and comfortable and quiet. We had only one complaint and that was on our second morning, a Grounds keeper cranked up a leaf blower in the parking lot at 7 AM waking us up.
Very run down and unkept. We were there for 4 days and 3 nights and our room was not cleaned/serviced the entire stay. The whole hotel had a strange smell and the breakfast was less than desirable. I'm not sure how this hotel had a 3 star rating on trip advisor?! We will not be staying there again.
Mike the front desk guy was friendly & super accommodating. He was very friendly & Sweet. I had to stay an extra night & he made it work. I really appreciate it!! Breakfast area staff nice also. Only problem was the carpet in our room. It was REALLY stained. It felt gross to walk on.
Comfortable convenient but lots of traffic noise. Had stayed at the property 10 years ago and noticed that it was a lot more run down since that time. No time to take advantage of pool or exercise facilities.
The stay was good, but nothing amazing. The lighting in the room with the blinds was an issue, as well as the noise from the freeway right outside. The late night desk lady was also pretty rude and couldn't help us when we got back from the wedding at 11PM because we had no cash on us so we asked if she could charge $40 to our room and just give us $40 cash from the register (like we saw her do previously with another guest that morning), but she would not allow it. So we had to drive with our cab driver to an ATM and get money out.
Extremely convenient to the SR-50 from Sacramento to South Lake Tahoe. Very reasonable rates. Room was quite nice especially for the rate. Free breakfast was OK. Stayed in mid May so don't know what rates might be later in the season.
The Housekeeping Manager Talking very loudly, I had to get up at 8ish AM to go out to hall and "Shhhhh" He Apologized rght then and again later, But the housekeeping noise from laundry cars and staff talking was loud again the next morning!
Kayla and Jeff were wonderful and friendly. That got the hotel a three rating. We stayed with the family 6adults and three rooms) But, the hotel itself was noisy, safes in 3 rooms did not work. Phone in one room did not work. Smoke alarm battery in one room red and needed battery. Heating noisy, we had to unplug all the refrigerators to get some sleep.
I was really impressed with our room and the service. The staff was wonderful and very helpful. The room was spotless and very well set up. Our particular room had a queen size bed and a sitting area. It was very comfortable.
this is a very nice hotel. staff very friendly and professional. it was a perfect location to our business needs and close to visit with some family. would stay here again. nice Mexican restaurant next door. spa not working, not fixed during our stay - not a deal breaker but disappointing
Door to our room (320) was coming off the hinges. Would not close on its own, needed to be lifted to close. Carpet was badly stained. By 8:00 am Saturday morning they ran out of any food for breakfast. Next day there was food, but it was terrible. We were with family and had a total of six rooms rented. Nobody would eat breakfast. Even the coffee was Luke warm.
The hotel staff were helpful, knowledgeable, personable and professional. The room was clean. Room amenities; safe, microwave, refrigerator, flat screen TV, lots of bathroom goodies. The breakfast was ok. I'm not into fake eggs, but the waffles were great. I would stay here again!
Right next to a great Mexican restaurant. Very clean and Quiet place. My husband said breakfast was better than most. Beautiful rose garden. Very nice people working there. There was no elevator so if you don' want carry luggage up stairs ask for a ground floor room.
The hotel is easily accessible from Highway 50. The staff is very professional and friendly. The room was spacious and clean. Bathroom was a little on the snug side as far as counter space though. Over all, I would recommend it to my friends and family.
Ok hotel, ok room, ok staff, ok free breakfast. The only star here is Bruce who worked the breakfast room. Very friendly, kind, hardworking and made everyone feel welcomed. He can teach the front desk staff on manners.
rooms are old and stuffy.... bathroom was very clean though. front desk staff were nice but the winner of all is Bruce from breakfast room. He stayed on top of things to feed so many fat people who gobbled everything (5-6-17 7 to 10 am)
Rooms and hotel property were nice and accommodating. The nights were a little loud. Dee at the front desk was a little too friendly and flirty, she made me uncomfortable she was very fake and over did it for me, she could tone it down. Breakfast was very good, kaila at the front desk gave me great recommendations for dinner. Placerville was a great town can't wait to come back.
Convenient but we were not able to rest. The guests next door sounded like they were in our bathroom.. Check in staff was super nice. The rest of place looked run down the fresh water in the lobby looked old with fermented fruit in it. The morning staff wasn't presentable I thought they were hotel guests in their pjs.
Very close to Highway on/off ramps, and a wonderful Mexican restaurant right next door! The staff is friendly and efficient. The lobby is pleasantly decorated and relaxing. Breakfast area is near pool and tables are located outside as to enjoy smell of the roses. The grounds are very nicely kept, I didn't notice any litter or anything out of place.
The room was very nice and clean, we were able to get last minute rooms two weekends in a row for a death in the family then funeral. The price was $200 (Friday 2 queens 3rd floor) then $260 (Sat 2 queens 3rd floor, w balcony) one night each. It felt expensive, but I am thrifty. Breakfast was fantastic, although I believe they should staff 2 cooks for the volume of guests. Bruce, the cook, was working very hard and able to keep up but he seemed stressed & rushed. Management should take better care of such an excellent and friendly employee. The graveyard desk staff were also very friendly, the early morning of the 29th I ran out of coffee pulling an all nighter and they were quick to provide me with more to continue working. The kids loved the pool. Although there were no elevators I enjoyed using the stairs. We come here every time we visit family in the area and don't have a place to stay.
Spacious rooms and a SUPER breakfast buffet - handy to a couple of nice shopping centers. ( I LOVE Ross Dress for Less and TJ Maxx type stores!) Got to sit by the pool for the first time on our last visit. It is kept clean - and I wished I had a bathing suit, but settled for dangling my toes!
My work has me traveling all over California and this hotel was a breath of fresh air. The front desk hostess Kayla was amazing. She's a very sweet lady, and whenever I had any questions or concerns she was right there with the perfect answer. She very helpful and polite, I'm glad we chose to stay at this hotel.
I really like the staff at Best Western Plus Placerville. My stay has been ultra nice. The rooms are clean and spacious. The area is beautiful, located near the 50 interstate but, not too close where you can here traffic all night long. I Would definitely stay here again in the future.
See above. See comments above and I have other information. See comments on Bruce in the food court area, he did a good job in assisting the family. I can not get out of this area, please correct this item.
Hotel was clean and staff were excellent. Great breakfast by Bruce, Not fun to lug luggage up stairs w/ no elevator. Two other wedding parties staying there were very noisy late Saturday into Sunday AM.
The rooms are clean, updated, very comfortable. The service is beyond what you'd expect! All staff go the extra mile to ensure your comfort. The swimming pool was open in April - very surprising and appreciated!
I stayed at this hotel for a total of 3 nights. Overall the hotel is clean and well maintained, however the best part of this hotel is the people. There were a few small issues with my reservation when I checked in, but Dee was absolutely amazing. She treated me like family but was also very professional and knowledgeable. She was able to quickly resolve the issues and check me in. I hadn't eaten dinner yet, and Dee happily directed me to a nearby restaurant. I would definitely recommend this hotel.
We are amazed! We have stayed in many best westerns, and this one is by far the nicest. Kayla at the front desk is so polite & friendly, always smiling. She went over and above to desribe the hotel and the many amenities. Our room is HUGE, breakfast was very tasty with awesome variety. Just an awesome atmosphere overall. Thank you to Best Western Placerville, you are doing a fantastic job!
Wonderful place to stay on the way to go sledding. Our room had a couch area with separate TV and chairs. Bed was comfortable. Bathroom totally adequate. Staff was great, especially Bruce in the dining room. He helped us with staying on top of refills at a very busy time. Best Motel breakfast I have had: eggs, sausage, bacon, bagels, cereal, fruit, yogurt. Wow!
The overall hotel was good. Traveling with a service dog and being put in a 'pet' room is always disappointing. The carpet was wet. The breakfast was great. The variety was exactly what I prefer. The staff were friendly and helpful.
I would recommend this hotel. I was late from being delayed and Doug was so nice and helpful when checking me in. Bruce had a variety of choices at breakfast that looked good. The housekeeping did a good job keeping the room stocked and cleaned. But at time a maintenance guy offered to carry my bags down and take them to my car. I was so impressed with the kindness that was showed to me. I would stay at this place again.
Upon our arrival to the Best Western Plus, on a rainy Friday night in early April. We where greeted with kindness and warmth. The kind of greeting one would expect, like walking into your Grandmothers house. The room was just what we expected from the description on your website. Everything was perfect! Or so we thought? During check-in, we where in formed about the continental breakfast... Well let me tell you that this review would have stopped all ready, but everybody in the B.W. family needs to know about "BRUCE"!!.. Bruce, the care taker in the Placerville B.W. food court, or breakfast lounge, singlehandedly TAKES CARE OF ALL THE FIXINS!! Making sure that everything is stoked full, the coffee is fresh and hot, the fruit is all filled, and the batter for the "make your own waffles" is flowing m non stop!!!!!! The place was packed. And there was Bruce cleaning tables and welcoming guests with a smile. ... I spoke to Bruce for a few moments, and found that Bruce was not just the guy stocking the breakfast goodies..... But Bruce was a man who really loves his job. Not for the minimum wage that he is getting, per hour... with no hope for a pay raze in site!! Not for the joy of starting his day in the wee hours of the morning so weary travelers could get a fresh start to there journey. But simply for the gratification of a smile here and there once and a while, and or the occasional "Good Morning", or "Have a nice day". Bruce deserves all of our thanks 100 and 10 percent from us and all of his peers at BEST WESTERN!!! Time for this weary traveler to get some grub, William Freeman a.k.a ."Billy" the guy who stopped to say thank you, and met a super man with a the apitamy of "Customer Service" that all should see!!! Thank you BRUCE in Placerville!!
Stopped for the night on a business trip. Everyone was helpful. The room was great. The breakfast was great! The Mexican restaurant next door was good, too. The hot tub was great! Will be staying here again.
Clean rooms and the hotel was in a great location. It's the closest hotel to Redhawk Casino and the casino offers free 24 hour shuttles to and from the hotel/casino. The complimentary breakfast was great. Bruce provided excellent service in the breakfast area by making sure it was clean and well stocked!
Hotel is very convenient to Apple Hill, freeway, downtown etc. Rooms are spacious. Unfortunately hotel does not have an elevator. Breakfast was nice and hotel offers a small happy hour. Overall great stay
Okay- Simply great breakfast bar!! I believe his name was Don that worked his tail off to please the throngs. Yummy. Clean. Love that place!! It goes without saying (but will say anyway) that rooms are comfy, safe and tidy. Pool is well kept. Back next year!
The furniture in the living area of the mini-suite Room 238 needs a good vacuuming and possibly steam cleaning, as my strong allergic reaction tells me that it has been used by cats. The long white hairs I picked up on my jeans was another giveaway. Housekeeping standards leave much to be desired. On our last stay, housekeeping was generally lax about restocking the room and vacuuming, and the old, very dusty sock I found between the bed and the night-stand was nasty. On this stay, our room was left open all day on one day and on the next was not attended at all. We came home at 5 pm to an unmade bed, wet towels, full wastebaskets, etc. As housekeeping had already left, a young man was sent to our room with towels but without a clue as to what was needed. The next day, housekeeping stopped by but again didn't vacuum. A piece of paper that was on the floor on our arrival was still there 5 days later. Also, the slider window in room 238 has an interior defect which makes it look smeared and unwashed. Looking out is an unpleasant experience and the whole thing has a run-down Motel 6 feel to it. The only remedy is to replace the glass.
The good: We rented two rooms for my family (2 adults, 2 kids) to stay for two nights. The hotel was very accommodating to change our reservation at the last minute and keep two rooms next to each other. Breakfast room was great and kept very well stocked by Bruce. Front desk staff were friendly. One room was good, other not so much (see below.) The not-so-good: Both rooms were non-smoking, but one had recently had a smoker. They tried to correct it, but the room had a rank smell. On the same room, housekeeping didn't come, so it was both rank and messy. Overall experience was 2.5 stars. I'm rounding up, given the property was generally well kept and staff was friendly. With family in the area, we may try this hotel again on our next visit, but this stay didn't leave a good enough impression to ensure a return stay.
My crew and I have been staying at the Best Western Plus Placerville inn & Let me Tell You this is a great place to stay. In the morning Bruce the breakfast attended is on POINT always keeping everything stocked. At the front desk June-Nick-Michael & Taylor are always there to help or just to have a friendly conversation. Also I can't forget to mention Andrew the maintenance guy in the evening is always there to help or just to give a friendly hello passing in the hallways. I would consider this a great Home away from Home believe me when I say that I've been staying here for a month and will come back in the future most definitely ??
Was in town visiting family - we always stay here. Have been consistently happy with the service. Have to commend Bruce who provides the breakfast - he did a fantastic job making sure everything was stocked and the breakfast room was clean. Very pleasant man who takes pride in his job - I appreciated the wonderful spread he provided.
I spent 2 nights at this hotel, having pre-paid my bill online through the travel company, AAA. On my first morning (around 9am), I was scared to death when the door abruptly opened and the house cleaning crew walked in. They told that I was supposed to check out. I told them I had paid for 2 nights and would be staying until the following morning. They left but returned about an hour later, again opening the door and walking in. This time, they said I had to leave. Again, I explained that I had paid for 2 nights and would not be leaving until the next morning. Around lunch time, there was pounding at the door. Looking through the peep-hole I saw a middled aged man wearing a t-shirt and jeans standing outside. I asked what he wanted and he told me he was there to take my luggage to my car. Because I did not ask for anyone to pick up my luggage, I refused to open the door, which made him mad. He wouldn't leave so I called the office. The woman who answered the phone said she accidentally sent this guy to the wrong room and apologized. I shouted this through the door and the guy left. The next morning I checked out and in the process, asked for a receipt, as I always do, in case there were any "incidental" room charges. The same guy who had pounded on my door the previous morning was working behind the desk. No one else was around. He told me they don't give receipts for online reservations. Others hotels I've stayed do, so I pushed him on this. He said he could do nothing. Given all that had happened, I was afraid I was going to be charged extra so I monitored my credit card. Sure enough, about a week later my card was charged for an extra night's stay. When I checked into this hotel on the first night, a young man at the desk warned me that I may be doubled charged because although my 2nd night of reservations was in the computer, my first one was not. I showed him my AAA receipts. He warned me that I might be double charged anyway. When I attempted to verify that my bill had been paid in full upon checkout, I was told I could be given a receipt. Later, I discovered I had been charged an extra night's stay, which I did not approve. The management of this hotel was not hospitable or accommodating of errors that were apparently caused by a glitch-prone computer reservation system, not a hotel guest traveling alone. Because I was refused a receipt at checkout, I was unable to resolve any errors prior to leaving and only realized I was charged extra when it appeared on my credit statement. Because of the intimidation by a male hotel staff member who seems to thinks bullying women is an acceptable way of doing business, I therefore do not recommend this hotel. I have disputed the extra charges with my bank but as of this posting, the matter remains unresolved, for now.
While staying at the Best Western Placerville Inn, our group has been treated to the best services available in placerville. During the day June at the front desk makes sure we have what we need and are comfortable, and during the evening Taylor and Michael are ready to extend a friendly conversation while we enjoy happy hour. In the morning we are greeted by Bruce and Jeff, the nicest breakfast attendants around. Even the maintenance guys Andrew offer up great laughs. Overall this place is clean as a whistle, and feels warm as the staff treats each other like family, a nice reminder when working away from home.
The hotel was nice, but they had no elevator. My 84 year old grandma and I were placed in a room on the third floor and had to lug up all of our stuff up the stairs. However, apparently they are installing an elevator in January. The rooms were really nice(but have no phone books!)and the breakfast was nice. The complimentary breakfast really helps this hotel meet the higher price. The worker, Bruce did an awesome job keeping the breakfast stocked, and you could tell he was working hard going back in forth from the kitchen cooking to stocking the breakfast area. Many of the front desk people smoke on the job? They smoked right 20 ft in front of the lobby!! And when we went inside they would come in right after and help us. One last thing is that it's right off a busy road. Overall, nice hotel. Nothing fancy. A little expensive for the quality.
We were looking forward to our annual getaway to the Apple Hill area on the long weekend. This hotel was rated #2 on Trip Advisor for the Placerville area, and we had stayed in Best Western Plus properties before, so we thought we knew what to expect. The hotel is conveniently located near US 50. We had asked for a king bed room opening to the pool. I was a bit surprised to see that there was no safety fence around the pool, separating it from the sliding doors of the rooms. I could see how it would be very easy for small children to be in danger if they were staying in one of those rooms and had not yet learned to swim. We were pleased with the size of the room and the relative comfort. It seems as if the room had been fairly recently renovated. Bathroom was small but clean upon our arrival. Not much counter space with the one sink. Microwave and refrigerator were welcome amenities. The bed looked very firm, but to our relief did have some give to it. However, there were several issues which will prevent us from ever returning to this property. Our first night, Friday 11/11, was spent in relative peace. Throughout our whole stay, there was a strange booming noise that sounded as if it was coming from somewhere on the property. Sounded like a dumpster being emptied? We never found out what it was. It occurred roughly every 45 minutes, day and night. Not enough to keep us awake, but noticeable when we were awake. Turns out this relative inconvenience was the least of our problems. Unfortunately, we found out the hard way that this hotel has EXTRAORDINARILY thin walls. On Saturday evening, a very noisy family with small children checked in to the room next door. Our room had an adjoining door to this room, and we could only imagine that the door in their room was open, because we could hear literally everything that was occurring in their room. Eventually the human noise subsided a bit, but the TV was on at a loud volume. As the evening progressed, the TV stayed at that volume for several hours. After several hours, we called the front desk to ask them to contact the room's occupants and have them reduce the volume. We heard their phone ring and ring next door, with no answer. Then - nothing. So, we went next door and knocked. No answer. I called the front desk and asked what the update was. The person on duty lied to me, told me he had made contact with the room's occupants (I knew he hadn't) and that THERE WAS NO MORE NOISE COMING FROM THAT ROOM. I am hearing this in one ear, and with the other I am still hearing the incredibly loud TV from the next room. I told him that I was still hearing the noise. He became flustered at being caught in the lie and hung up the phone. After a few moments, we heard someone tapping on the door. They continued to tap for about 5 minutes, and then they let themselves in. Turns out the occupants had left the room with their TV blaring. By this time it was 11:30 pm. We had an hour of peace, and we were awakened again by the occupants coming back at around 12:35 am, just as loud as they'd been before. Small children running around and crying, parents speaking in inappropriately loud voices for the hour. Thankfully, they settled down within about 30 minutes, but there was no basic courtesy given for their fellow hotel occupants trying to rest. They again began making noise around 7 am, and by this time we were simply exhausted from a night of not much rest. In addition, on Sunday morning beginning around 8 am, a group of adults met out by the pool and began conversing loudly. When we returned on Saturday afternoon, we discovered that housekeeping had taken all of our towels and had not replaced them, nor had they emptied the trashcans or cleaned the tub (soap scum evident from day before). In all, this is not what I have come to expect from the Best Western Plus chain of hotels. If I had wanted a Motel 6 experience, I would have booked a room at a Motel 6. At over $150 per night, I expect a higher level of service and attention to detail. This includes enforcing reasonable quiet hours from 10 pm to 7 am, for those who wish to relax in peace and quiet. If you have to stay at this hotel, ask for a room away from the pool. That was a mistake on my part. Better yet, do yourself a favor and stay elsewhere.
At Best Western Plus in Placerville Inn they treat you like family or old friends. When i ask if they will do something for me, they say "SURE", even before I tell them what I need. I try to stay in the same room each visit. I prefer the back, downstairs. It is quiet and I can look out the window and see the beautiful pine trees. I didn't used to like the breakfast but they have made changes to the menu (and vendors) and the breakfast was fresh and delicious. They have a meeting room that is across from the registration desk. It is huge and holds a lot of people but the chairs can be arranged in several different ways to make it a cozy event, too. I've rented and done it both ways and it worked great. All the staff, from the manager June, to.Gloria the head of housekeeping are delightful and helpful. I go to that area often on business and I recommend all our clients and patients to stay there. The rooms are clean, quiet and very comfortable. They have everything you need from microwave and refrigerator to shampoo and other amenities. Before I found Best Western I stayed in some old historic hotel in downtown Placerville. It was terrible, It was above a bar and the cigarette smoked worked its way to our rooms. The elevator is really old and scary to ride in, and if you climbed the stairs you got a real work out. The bar was open late and when it closed the street cleaner started up and down the street endlessly. The a/c was out and the noise was like being at a party all night. I couldn't even function the next day to work. I learned my lesson to read the reviews and choose again. I'm very happy with Best Western Plus Placerville Inn and look forward to seeing them all again soon. Blessings, Michelle Taylor Dallas, Texas
They have a complimentary breakfast that Bruce runs! Don't miss it. The guy will do anything to make sure you're well taken care of. Stellar service. Thanks Bruce. He's the kind of employee that makes your stay worth it!
I have stayed at this hotel a couple of other times. The facilities are looking a little tired; dirty carpet and walls. However the workout room was nice and clean and the equipment was in great shape. Bruce in the breakfast area was working hard to keep up with the rush, he was very pleasant kept on top over everything. Didn't like that the employees all smoked in the driveway right in front of the entrance.
The room was clean and the staff was great. Bruce, who was the cook for the breakfast, was excellant. He was cheerful and careful to keep the eggs and breakfast meats full even when the eating area was busy with hungry people, and he did it all with a smile on his face! The hot tub was wonderful after a busy day of wine tasting.
Came into town for a funeral, checked in and left until later. Didn't know how bad the mattress was until later, finally got to sleep then at 1 am fire alarm went off that close to 5 minutes to turn off another 3 hours to get back to sleep on mattress, woke up late and was late for our service. I wont make this mistake again.
Staff is exceptional Friendly and helpful! The whole place is nice! Thanks for a great welcome and warm stay! Michael??June?? Bruce great Staff Breakfast clean dining area and make sure to visit the pool ! Nice relaxing Scenery
Stayed in the Best Western Plus in Placerville in Sept we had 2 rooms,1 for my san and his wife, 1 for my spouse and myself. 10 days after leaving my son came down with SCABIES 4 weeks after staying I came down with SCABIES. My son and I did not share a room. Both cases are documented. His at the VA in Alaska and mine at Renown Medical Care. When we contacted the Manger her attitude was too bad. All I can do is refund you is $91.06. The rooms were $ 397.00 each. Having Scabies was the worst thing I have ever experienced. No one at Best Western cares. They just want your money. Housekeeping was horrible. We will NEVER refer anyone to stay there ever again. Charleen L Adams
Had a great experience recently thanks largely to the excellent staff at the Best Western in Placerville, Ca. The first friendly face I came across was a lovely gal named June who checked myself and my co- workers in. She was patient with us, yet very expedient in getting us settled in. When I came to her with additional requests she went out of her way to take care of me and for that I was not only very impressed, but also extremely thankful. Throughout my 8 day stay the staff was always busy making sure things were running smooth and that the hotel was kept tidy. The breakfast food and eating area provided a great start to my morning and the pool and hot tub were a great way to end the day. I'm looking forward to returning. Thanks for everything!
Enjoyed our stay (visiting from UK. Greg and Lauren went out of their way to find us a very pleasant room, Good base for looking around the Foothills Route193 makes a n interesting ride.Hotel pool sparkling, excellent breakfast
From the time we walked in the door we were treated as though we were the people they had to worry about. Especially enjoyed the breakfast. The attendant was particularly conscience to the wants and needs of the hotel guest. I was expecting the "Usual" hotel continental breakfast, but was surprised at the choices and quality we received. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and well presented.
A nice place for families. The kids loved the pool, hot tub and breakfast with lots of bacon. Thanks to Bruce for keeping the breakfast bar well stocked! Located off Highway 50, so easy to get to. The manager is also very nice and helpful.
Great breakfast for entire family, and Bruce was very attentive and helpful. Rooms were roomy and pool and spa were very enjoyable for all the family. We recommend this nice and well located facility. Jim Richardson Reno
This motel is conveniently located just off Hwy. 50 and makes a good place to stay if you're touring Gold Country, since Placerville is in the middle of Highway 49's north-south traverse through that historic California area, center of the Gold Rush. It is a rather large motel, and the rooms are large and comfortable as well. It's a little pricey on weekends, but the room rate includes a full breakfast with hot dishes. There is also a good Mexican restaurant right next door, handy for lunch or dinner. It is a few miles outside of central Placerville, nice and quiet. Extra tip: Hwy. 49 crosses 50 a few miles east of the motel, but if you want 49 south, you can save some twists and turns in Placerville by instead driving south on Missouri Flat Road, the road that crosses 50 next to the motel; it crosses 49 south of town.
A great place to stay. Is right off the freeway and room had a microwave coffee, free breakfast is a plus. The only negative the pillows are half the size of a standard. They were uncomfortable . Close to stores snd casino
Had a real nice stay. The staff was courteous and helpful! One of the best Complimentary breakfasts we've experienced! The grounds were very nice. Just be sure to book a room on side of the hotel near pool. Opposite will get some freeway noise!
We've stayed at the Best Western Placerville once a year for the past 5 years, when we attend the Hangtown Halloween Ball music festival. We have always found it clean and comfortable and relaxing. I have to write to commend the staff. The hotel always fills up on this weekend with festival goers, performers and regular guests. In spite of the various things that might go awry with the diversity and requests of the festival crowd, the staff--managers, front desk, housekeeping, kitchen--keep things running along nicely. There was some confusion when, upon checking in for the weekend, the room we booked had maintenance issues. However, the front desk person and the manager on duty resolved the problem quickly by getting us into another room at a discounted price. For the rest of our stay, the managers personally inquired about our needs and our stay every day. As always, the housekeepers were friendly and accommodated our every request. Lastly, special mention to Bruce (did not get his last name) who ran the breakfast room on the weekend. He kept it stocked and cleaned up as dozens of guests woke up and came down for the free breakfast. Thanks again for a great weekend in Hangtown!
Great hotel, superb location, Fantastic hospitality by staff and management team, clean and fresh rooms, highly recommended for a pleasant stay. We stayed there with family, however it was noticeable that its even popular in people for business stay. We loved it...!!!!!!
We enjoyed our stay here. Rooms were clean and large. The entire staff was friendly and helpful. My only traveler alert is that the hotel has no elevator. Be sure to book ahead a 1st floor room if you gave lots of luggage. Took me three trips to move everything from my car to the room. Their breakfast service was excellent. Thanks to June for her helpful service!
Thanks Chef Bruce! You really too care of us at breakfast both mornings. Bruce seemed to be always busy keeping the food area tidy and food levels full. Our room was large, seemed updated and very clean. We had a great experience.
The hotel was super nice! Great location close to apple hill. Our room was clean. They got our crib set up for us. They had a pretty awesome happy hour special, we didn't get to take advantage but it was definitely pretty cool. The pool and hot tub looked awesome. Big thank you to Aaron who I think is the manager? He was so helpful. We ended up leaving at 1 in the morning after just checking in earlier in the day. Our little guy was up crying and sick. Aaron made it so easy to check out as well as answer any of my questions considering we didn't get to stay the rest of our time. He explained what needed to be taken care of. Thank you Aaron we will definitely be back especially when you have such awesome staff.
Thanks Chef Jeff, we appreciated your help and such a wonderful breakfast. We noticed how sparkly clean everything was, and attention to detail. Hot coffee, and a nice choice of juices that were stocked full, good eggs, bacon and sausage too. :) :) :)
Older hotel but nice location. No elevator but told coming soon. Be sure to book ground level if accessibility is an issue. Good showers, comfortable bed. Bruce, who services the breakfast room absolutely worked his tail off providing for guests. Second floor housekeeping...thanks for new hair dryer to save a bad hair day! Would stay here again.
We just wanted to thank Bruce for his graciousness and friendly attitude. We saw him every morning and he was working extremely hard to make sure the breakfast service a great experience for all the guests. He was personable and we enjoyed talking with him every morning of our stay. Bruce is a real asset to the Best Western Plus Placerville Inn.
the sigh is small and almost hinnden by bushes. yes, the rooms are clean and the staff is friendy. te breakfest was above par, but its a bit of drive away from downtown placerville. enjoy my stay, but do something about the sign. maybe a sign by the freeway.
very outdated rooms. the carpet looked dirty and worn with either old burns or gum stuck in it. uncomfortable bed and terrible pillows. the pool looked great but the water was freezing and unusable.not worth the price. the room was quiet which was a plus.
nice stay. clean, quiet. Close to Placerville old town and to Apple Hill. Sign is almost impossible to see from the road (Calif. rules?) but the young lady at the desk gave us directions when I called from Old Town Placerville. Breakfast looked good.
We stayed in a room right off the parking lot with sliding doors out to the parking lot. Very convenient since we were there for a week long dog show - no stairs - easy access to parking for loading and unloading our cars. Best of all was Bruce in the Breakfast Room. That man went out of his way to make sure everyone was happy. Cannot say enough praise for his manner and obvious care for his customers.
We stay at Best Westerns as we travel here, there and everywhere Was in Placerville for Golden Retriever Nationals and stayed, for the first time, at this property The staff was friendly and helpful and asked what they could do to help;from the charming lady at the front desk to the two men who prepared the breakfast. I am a walker and one of staff prepared a map and sent me on my way; very nice and accommodating And importantly should you be traveling with a pet as many guests were, they accept our four legged family members
Been on the road and for 2 weeks and it is a pleasure to stay at a hotel as comfortable as this one. Big rooms, nice pool, guest laundry and better than average breakfast. Bruce, who takes care of the breakfast, was constantly on the move keeping it well stocked.
The first night, the fire alarm went off at 12:30 am. Called the front desk and someone came to to remove the alarm. The maintenance engineer came the next day to replace the unit and put a new battery. The second night the fire alarm peep for about 15 mins intervals so I called the front desk. The maintenance engineer came and replaced the unit with new battery for the 2nd time. The third night the fire alarm went off at 12 am. Another problem we had was the lights in the bathroom went out for 10 mins while someone was taking a shower. The light going out happened a few times. Also, the front desk person gave wrong information regarding the $ amount need to wash and dry my clothes. I overspent money there. They did not refund me the extra monies put into the machine. When I checked out the front desk person assured me that the GM will be calling me re the incidents. I left my phone # and a brief descriptions of all the things that went wrong. I have not heard from anyone as of today. The only good thing about this place was the breakfast. Bruce who takes care of the breakfast area did a fantastic job always making sure the guest had enough food to eat and everything was fresh.
Spending 3 to 7 nights in hotels every week, we get a lot of chances to see a lot of different places. This one, is overran with dogs! I'm not sure but assuming they do not do deep cleaning but have a very large dogs in every room. If you were allergic to pets pet hair or dander, stay away! This is definitely not the place for you. For $200 a night we did manage to get a window that opened but there was no screen. Your view is of dogs doing their business and then right beyond that is the road. Between listening to the dogs bark all night and how is creeping sweeping all of the rooms until 830 at night there wasn't much rest. We had been on the road for over 13 hours so listening to the housekeepers laugh and the dogs bark was not exciting to us we just wanted to go to bed. Bad was decent can't say great. There are no elevators and if you happen to get a room on the backside of the hotel there is no outside entrance. They do have a restaurant adjacent to the hotel within the same parking lot. Again, we walked over but had to wait in line behind six German Shepherd and golden retrievers that we're staying at the hotel. I'm assuming it was a dog show, however, they didn't make it so that you didn't think you were staying in a kennel. A little more cleaning would've helped that. For $200 a night, I did expect a little more.
A group of friends and I go to Apple Hill every year and we make a weekend out of it. The Best Western Plus Placerville Inn is our favorite place to stay. We have tried another when it was already booked but we went right back to the Best Western. It's easy access and has friendly service.
The staff were excellent! We appreciated Bruce and Taylor. They ensured the breakfast buffet was well stocked. The breakfast area was clean and welcoming. Troy, at the front desk took great care of us at check in and ensured we got the best price for the room. The beds were comfortable. The air conditioner a bit old, but everything else updated.
Nice hotel. Clean, and one of the best breakfast rooms and selections around. The pool was nice. The only downside is we were on the 1st floor which is 1 floor down from the main lobby and there was no elevator. Poolside rooms are on floor 2. Other than that this is a great place to stay, close to restaurants. stores, coffee etc. Would stay again but would be floor specific.
Needed a place to stay for a wedding so this hotel was close. It was clean but hallway had cigarette smell, there was no elevator so had to carry luggage. Interior need to be updated with new carpet. Staff was nice and helpful.
We had our film crew stay for a month at the hotel. June and her staff were extremely accommodating and patient with the ongoing needs of our crew. We had daily room switches and June was very quick to respond and help us with any arising issues we had. Altogether they hosted 50+ over the course of the month.
Stayed here for one night on our trip exploring Hwy. 49. A nice stop along the way. Centrally located. The room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast buffet was very good with make your own waffles, fresh eggs and bacon/sausage, an assortment of fruit, pre-packaged pastries, instant oatmeal, etc. My problem stems from the management. I called the 800 number before we arrived and was told there were large rooms available with double sinks, etc. for just over $100 a night. When we arrived 15 minutes later, the manager told us that those room rates were taken and we had to pay more for a smaller room, but not to worry, we were getting a fireplace and a pool view. I specifically asked if it would be noisy over the pool and was told "no". Ok, that's fine...except for the fact that the fireplace didn't work and we couldn't open our sliding door to enjoy our pool view because guests were smoking at the pool even though it is clearly stated that there is no smoking allowed there. The ice machine on our floor was broken as well. Explained all of this to the management the next day and all they said was "thank you". No price adjustment, nothing. Not great customer service.
I stayed at the best western placerville inn for a month on a film shoot, what a great hotel! ????. The breakfast was really good, what real eggs none of that powder stuff? Yeah real eggs scrambled to perfection real sausage? You bet your snout! Bruce was the man he kept the breakfast open for our starving crew when we arrived late one morning after working all night in the cold. Thanks Bruce and the entire team
Both Aaron and Jeff were extremely polite and helpful during my stay. Aaron assured all room accommodations were taken care of and I received all the necessary paperwork I required after my stay. Jeff is a very hard worker. He kept the breakfast items filled, greeted every guest he came in contact with and asked if there was anything that the guest needed. It is employees like these that will keep me coming back to stay at the Best Western in Placerville. Brian Aanestad
Good place for us to stay while wedding was on. Great location for what we needed. Bruce worked very hard during the breakfast each morning. Rooms were comfy and spacious. The price was reasonable. Cheers
This is a very nice hotel, well located with a very good Mexican restaurant next door. Friendly and helpful staff. Clean rooms and common areas. Our room was comfortable and nicely appointed. Comfy Bed and shower head installed for taller people (Yea). The pool (not heated but ok) and spa very nice. Only negative (small one) is there is no elevator. This is not a huge deal because the hotel is laid out in such a fashion that the second floor is the main level so you only have one flight of stairs up or down to reach your floor. This was not a deal breaker just a FYI. We would stay here again
Think about this hotel if you need a spot to meet, eat, confer and bring families. That's exactly what the large contingent of tree trimmers did- using the conference area, the in-house meals and cocktail area: moms and kids were enjoying it. As a non-trimmer, I was never inconvenienced. They have vast free parking and wonderful Casa Ramos nearby. Also a church up the road. I'd live here but it's too far from LA. Cool trees around the hotel too.King bed was great-sweetie & I had no complaints. Special shout out to our host in the kitchen in the mornings: kind and patient to all.
Clean, comfortable and friendly. The manager Nick worked very hard and I appreciated it. Check in was quick, easy. The hotel looks great and was very clean. The hotel was easy to find and close to everything we needed, yet quiet and relaxing.
When we arrived, the staff were very helpful and setup our modified reservation. They made sure we had a ground floor room (in a good spot too) because I am handicapped and can't lug all the stuff for 5 day stay. The Internet was awful due to poor connections from the Comcast hub into the Comcast network. However, the hotel insisted (rightfully, as they are a fully commercial customer) that the link be fixed and perform to the customer's expectations. Comcast upgraded the modem, the speed to over 70 Mbps and connected the hotel to a better hub. Now a WiFi user is able to connect to the Internet and use the poor Comcast network (that's the best they can do in this area). At least I can now login to my own website and check my mail.
Drove all day from Oregon to visit our daughter at William Jessup University. Got in late and fell asleep quickly on a very comfortable bed. Woke up to exercise and the weather was perfect. Getting back our toilet did not flush. But the management got on it quickly and fixed the problem and even lowered our bill a bit. Very friendly and warm. We enjoyed the room and found it perfect for the price we were spending. Super clean and modern.
his name is Gregory the maintence manager from the hotel. without his hard work it would have taken a lot longer to set up for our event his hard work and patience was greatly appreciated and should be recognized for all his hard work thank you GREGORY and kudos from the HANGTOWN A'S PLACERVILLE CA,
Excellent service by Bruce in the dining room the rooms were clean everyone was very friendly. Easy access from the freeway and to the wedding venue. Great selection of breakfast items including eggs, bacon, sausage, waffles and many other items.
I was very pleased with my four-day stay at the Best Western Plus Placerville Inn. The rooms are comfortable with breakfast included. Hotel staff were very helpful and accommodating. Casa Ramos, a Cal-Mex restaurant shares the same parking lot with the hotel, making it a very convenient place to dine. I highly recommend the BW Placerville Inn for anyone spending time in this beautiful part of California.
Enjoyable breakfast in spite of massive crowds. The service was excellent. Delicious, fresh food. We were here for the Dry Diggings Festival. It was very close to the Placerville venue. We will stay here again.
I was greeted warmly when I arrived early. I was given a free upgrade since the inn was not full. I requested a first floor room and that request was completed. Upon departure I was having problems with printing a document. Aaron the agent on duty was extremely helpful and courteous. It was surprisingly quite busy at this early hour. He was adept at handling all guests efficiently.
Comparing this to BW Auburn, Auburn is miles ahead. Maybe because it is better managed and a smaller property? Room at Placerville was spacious, very well maintained but higher priced than Auburn. Would I stay again for similar price? No, I would seek out Holiday Inn Express.
Dave greeted us warmly and showed great hospitality, efficiently fixing a booking error we had made. Room was nice and pool was in great shape. Location was convenient to restaurants and shopping. Nice TV, microwave and refrigerator (all were new and worked great).
Dirty Hotel with many smoking employees and patrons surrounding the hotel. Manager watched me stand in the lobby for over 5 minutes while he inhaled every last drop of nicotine out of his cig. Also I was charged a $20.00 daily fee for traveling with my Service Dog. I have traveled with him numerous time and usually frequent Best Westerns but this time put a bad taste in my mouth!!!!!
Was on a weekend with my family working in the area. Good hotel for the night. But when morning came and my kids wanted breakfast there hot breakfast was just what we needed. The host BRUCE was definitly the highlight. He made sure every breakfast item was refilled when needed and even helped my family with seating. Great personality and very friendly with other guest opening doors and answering questions. overall made a great stay thanks to him. Thanks again BRUCE WILL DEFINITELY BE BACK FOR ANOTHER STAY
We stayed at the BW Plus in Placerville on Aug. 19 & 20. For the past few years I have tried to stay at the BW Plus hotels because they have been better than any of the other hotel chains we were using. Unfortunately this hotel failed badly for the following reasons: 1. The hotel is advertised as 100% smoke free. We found a cigarette butt on the sitting area outside our sliding door. We observed several people smoking on their sitting areas and found areas where there were standing cigarette bins to put out cigarettes. These bins were right next to the entrances where the smell was obvious outside and even inside. 2. The air conditioner in the room was in such a place that it blew directly on you when you were in bed. I found the way to stop this was to turn a chair around and place it in front of the air conditioner. 3. The Wi-Fi was sporadic at best. Web pages were extremely slow to load and very frequently I had to disconnect, then reconnect. I finally resorted to using my phone for internet. This hotel definitely did not live up to the standards we have come to expect for BW Plus hotels.
When arriving to check in, we noticed lots of construction vehicles and were concerned we might not get the quiet we desired. That was not an issue during our stay. When we got to our room, one of the bedside lamps didn't work and the pillows were small for a king bed so we'd need more. We called the front desk and within minutes a member of the maintenance staff showed up with a couple extra pillows. He reached under the bed and plugged in the lamp - still didn't work. He then went for a bulb and pillowcases for the uncovered pillows he had brought earlier. When the new bulb didn't work either, he plugged the lamp elsewhere and it worked. He asked if a different location would be okay, but I really needed that lamp bedside. At that point, he lifted the mattress from the frame and realized the lamp was plugged into an extension cord that was not plugged into an outlet. I unfortunately don't recall the name of this man who was a bit taller than average and wore glasses but sure appreciated his persistence and pleasant attitude. The room did have an odd smell - not unpleasant, but kind of like bengay! That was okay though, not an issue for us. We were able to step right out of our room to poolside, which we really enjoyed. The small pool and spa were in a gated courtyard surrounded by beautiful flowers, with several tables, chairs, chaise loungers and umbrellas. The bed was very comfortable. The water pressure in the shower was good and the water hot. The coffee maker, microwave and fridge were very convenient. The breakfast provided was a good, hot breakfast, with continental offerings as well. The space was a little small and crowded both mornings we were there so it took a little bit of time since it was all self- service. There is no on-site restaurant or lounge, but there is very nice Mexican restaurant right next door. The one beverage vending machine nearest our room was out of order. The same beverages could be purchased at the front desk, but it would have been nice if the bottled water, at least, would have been complimentary for the little bit of inconvenience. All the staff we directly encountered were friendly and helpful and Bruce was great at check out. This property is a convenient home base for exploring the area's Gold Rush history, small towns, mines, wineries, a nearby casino and many trails. It's not the "Plus" we've experienced at other Best Western Plus properties, but we would stay here again and would recommend it to others.
How can Best Western rate a property Plus when it has 3 floors and no elevator! Bigger issue was very negative experience with the property manager, June. Our reservation was booked 7 months prior to our stay on August 13. We picked our grandsons up from a nearby camp and arrived early around noon to see if they had a room we could check into. June told us our assigned room, the Tiffany Suite, was not and to come back at 3pm. She This was not unexpected. I thought arriving early May have at least gotten us an upgrade. Turned out the opposite. Returned at 3pm to check-in. Michael was on the desk now. He explained the Tiffany Suite was actually a meeting room with two Murphy like beds brought in. Sounded like this "suite" was clearly a down grade instead of an upgrade so I asked if I could get another room. Michael said no as they were full and all rooms assigned. Then he told me they had no elevator so we would have to drag our big bags to the 3rd floor. So much for reserving 7 months ago and arriving early. Only rationale I could come up with is since we are 69 years old and got a senior discount they assigned us to the top floor in their worse room. It would seem to me a better system would be to give the least desirable rooms to the last people who arrive versus the first ones. Things got worse after we got in the Tiffany Suite, the temporarily converted meeting room. Much too large for a hotel room. Temperature was 77 degrees so cranked thermostat down. To his credit Michael called 15 minutes later and asked if everything was OK. Doubt he was surprised when I told him we were very displeased. Biggest issue was the temperature. Looked at it and it had risen to 78 degrees. While some cool air was coming out the room was just too large to cool down. I asked for a different room. He said none were available (it was 3:30 PM). I then told him he should expect to see a very negative review from me on Trip Advisor and other social media. Surprise, Surprise just 5 minutes later Michael called back to inform me that he had just got a cancellation and wanted to know if we wanted to move. Of course I said yes. I asked where the room was located. He told me it was right next door. What a interesting coincidence. Thank goodness for Trip Advisor reviews! In the new room, A/C is immediately cooling off and Mama is happy. Then a few minutes later Manager June calls to see how things are going. Told he great, much cooler so much better. She wanted to know if we had moved everything out of the room next door. I said yes except one grandson who was still showering. She said we needed to move back to the Tiffany Suite as we were occupying two rooms but paying for one. I told her he would be out of the room in less than 5 minutes. She insisted we move back immediately? She said she had no one to clean our original room. I told her it was too late as my other grandson was already showering in the new room. June was a rather unpleasant person to deal with. While getting ice down the hall 30 minutes later my wife noticed someone was cleaning the Tiffany Suite. Unfortunately with Trip Advisor's system I have to give one star in order to write a review. Make this one a "minus one"
Nice clean hotel- friendly staff- Breakfast made fabulous by Bruce!! Brought out extra food - pleasant to be around - very helpful and knowledgeable with local sights and directions to get there!! He seems to take pride in a job well done!! He is an excellent addition to your staff!!
This is the best place, we will come back, soon. Our 2 day stay in Placerville BW Plus was definitely a "Plus" and we loved it! Only about 5-10 mins to a shopping center,as well. ...Everyone warm, friendly, helpful, thank you Bruce ! Starting with check in, staff is kind, professional. Lobby, offered stacks of USA Today & local Papers. Lots of clean cozy furniture to sit in, Flat screen TV's. Coffees,Teas,Water w/ Lemon. Popped fresh Popcorn! Few office machines. Housekeeping double checked to see if we had what we needed for our stay;we don't have our bedding or towels changed unless stay over a week. Room very clean, thanks to housekeeping, you are very sweet. Nice view of blooming Roses outlining the pool. And,yes mountains. Ice machine, soda, candy /treat machines located in mid hallway. Thanks to all Staff, nice job. Loved the bathrooms, toilet ,shower /tub in one room. Basin ,coffee maker next door. Another nice thing, two large mirrored closet doors One on back of shower door ,can be used to see your back- side.Beds super comfortable, good bedding. Flat screen TV. Big fridge. The pools were awesome, never overly crowded. Along with us there were 25 Cal Fire firefighters staying and they are awesome..Love you guys! Still very quiet...
We stopped in and were grateful they had a room. Room was clean and comfortable. Front desk staff were kind and helpful. Breakfast room staff was pleasant. We must have hit the morning rush and found the breakfast room packed. Standard buffet breakfast and the restocking of food had to be tough to keep up with! Like I said... Lots of people at the time we were there.
This property was recommended to us by a friend and we were not disappointed. The location is convenient and easy to find. The room was very big and the bed was comfortable. Lots of nice choices for breakfast (actual cut up fresh fruit) although the breakfast area could've been a little cleaner.
Breakfast was extremely delicious and an amazing experience thanks to a man named Bruce. He genuinely cares about everyone in the hotel! If I am ever in the neighborhood I will always come back to this hotel. It was something I will never forget!
After a white knuckle drive thru Sacramento we arrived at this BW built into the side of a hill. Kind of gives a village atmosphere. Very clean, beautifully maintain and exceptionally friendly staff. Would have given a 5 except there is no elevator. Also check out the Casa Ramos Mexican restaurant..great food, great margaritas, great price.
This is basically the only hotel in aplacervillePlacerville. It is a decent place to stay, right off of the 50. It is reasonable priced. This has been a stop for us as we have come to the area the last four years to participate in the Jeep Jamboree. Ample parking for rv's and trailers.
Comfortable beds, clean room, very nice pool and a laundry room just when we needed it! The breakfast was great but all that trash (paper and plastic cups, bowls, plates, utensils, etc) ... Woud it be possible to think about an alternative way to do things? Carol L
We stayed here for 2 nights and had a pleasant stay. The rooms were just the right size and the breakfast was spot on. The king size bed was very comfortable too! They had a variety of hot and cold dishes. I'll have to say Bruce did an excellent job keeping the food filled as quickly as can be. I saw him moving around so much trying to keep up with the demand.
This hotel was a great home away from home while we were in Dorado county for a river rafting trip. Comfortable beds as we needed good nights rest. The breakfast was a good spread of variety of food. It was in a central location to foods and downtown Placerville which was a charming quaint town.
1) Our room, which I had pre-reserved, was not ready until quite some time after check-in, which I wouldn't have minded much, except that as we sat there, others who had not made reservations were greeted, checked in and sent off to their rooms. To his credit, Nick (who took over the front desk partway through the process) apologized for the delay. He was unfailingly polite throughout our stay. The young lady who began the check-in process seemed to have adopted a "take it or leave it" approach. 2) I found a dirty sock on the floor between the night stand and the bed, took it down to the front desk, the young lady (yes, the same one) took it from me, turned, and walked away. She did not even inquire where I found it. That was disconcerting. The lid of the ice bucket was stained with black grime. After leaving it in a visible position and grime-upward to no effect, I had to write a note in order to get it cleaned. On one occasion, our towels were changed and bed was made up, but we were not given cups, coffee, or ice bucket liner. They were promptly supplied on request, however, but this still isn't up to BW standards. 3) Sounds petty, but I was surprised to be charged $4 for two small boxes of detergent (this during a 7-night stay that cost well over $1000). That's not the kind of nickel-and-diming I'm accustomed to from BW. 4) The fridge has no freezer, but otherwise the extensive in-room amenities were everything I expect from BW. There is even a small safe, which is a great bonus. 5) Breakfast was fine and ample. The breakfast room attendants, Bruce & Jeff, really want us to give a good report if we were satisfied, so that's just what I'm doing. I should also mention the friendly helpfulness of Jesus (didn't get his last name). 6) We checked in on a Wednesday. After that, the price soared, until it was a good 60% above what I am accustomed to paying at BW, even on the weekend. It sank again toward the middle of the following week. California prices? Perhaps.
This best western is THE BEST Best western I have ever visited. . I have been here for over two months working on the hwy 49/50 intersection. The hospitality here is unbelievable. The employees are so nice and helpful, and the rooms are exceptionally clean. Theres plenty of parking and the breakfast is awesome! Oh, and they have happy hour and will give you two free beers or sodas I you if you don't drink alcohol. three employees stood out among the rest, Aaron, Jeff and Happy. They are Amazing. They are very hard workers and will do anything possible to make your stay more pleasant. These three people should be noticed because they make this place what it is...AWESOME! . I would highly recommend Best western in Placerville.
Stay was alright, though not great...beds needed attention but room was clean and staff was friendly. Breakfast was the normal fair, waffles and eggs, bacon was sub par but overall everything was fine. AC unit was good, a blessing as it was very hot
I have three complaints about this hotel and two of them I could overlook and stay there again, but the one that I can't is the uncomfortable seating in the rooms. I recently stayed in a room with two queen beds and the only seating they had in there besides the beds were two very hard, very uncomfortable chairs. When I checked out I asked if they had other rooms with better seating and was told that they did if you got a room with one queen or one king but all of the two queen rooms had the same chairs. That's the deal-breaker for me. However, there were a couple of lesser issues that I hadn't run into before at other similar hotels. First of all the desk in the room didn't have any available outlets in which to plug my laptop. The outlets near the desk were used up by the microwave, fridge and desk lamp. I even thought about moving the desk to another wall but the cords for lamp were somehow secured to the desk. So I had to resort to plugging in on another wall and sit in one of the uncomfortable chairs with the laptop on a pillow in my lap. Not good. Also, they had a "Happy Hour" but when we got there all that was available was beer, wine and water to drink and stale popcorn and a bowl of apples to eat. Nothing happy about that! I do have to say their breakfast was very good as hotel breakfasts go (I've resigned myself to limp bacon and Egg Beaters scrambled eggs, but it tasted good and was filling.) The rooms were otherwise comfortable though I wouldn't stay in the rooms that are near the pool again unless it was winter. The sun beats into those rooms most of the day and when it's hot (it was in the 90s when we were there), you pretty much have to leave the drapes closed and the a/c on. It's a three-story hotel and I normally like to stay on the top floor but there was no elevator so had to stay on the bottom floor, and of course we had a family of Godzilla's in the room above us. I think they were jumping off the beds at one point and this went on until around 10:00 one night. Anyway, if none of these things are an issue for you, give it a try. As for me, the next time I head to the Placerville area I will probably be staying at The Hampton's Inn.
The housekeeper was very friendly and very helpful. Her name was Lauren. She was super quick to get me what I needed such as pool towels and fresh sheets. The hotel room itself was very clean and the TV was a nice flat screen with many channels. It came in perfectly clear. The AC worked wonderfully and there was even a mini fridge and microwave. In our bathroom was even a complimentary makeup remover which my wife found very pleasing. Thank you Lauren for your kindness and cleanliness.
It was my pleasure! The Placerville Best Western is beautiful!!! The pool, the landscaping, the lobby, the hallways, the rooms, the bathrooms: everything was PERFECT!!! Everyone was SO nice! I'm overwhelmingly satisfied at our choice to leave the awful place we were at, despite it being midnight. The breakfast was AMAZING!!!!! delicious and plenty of it!!! DO NOT STAY AT GOLD COUNTRY!!! This property and people were just wonderful. We also really enjoyed the balcony. I would love to stay again! Sooner than later I hope!
I drove all night and wanted to check in early and the staff made this possible. I have been staying at the hotel on and off for about 7 months. Very awesome service, from the check in staff to the maintenance. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone in this area. Many thanks to the entire staff and a few people who really stand out June Dave Happy I am sorry if I forgot anyone but truly the entire staff is awesome. THANKS TO YOU ALL
I've stayed in many Best Westerns and when I saw this was a Best Western Plus I was looking forward to our stay. We have platinum status and are usually acknowledged and offered an upgrade or perk, not here. We had requested poolside and without looking up she declared they were booked. The room wasn't clean...the chairs were stained with some kind of white crust, carpet in the room made me keep my shoes on, and there were hairs in the tub. The pool area has metal lounge chairs and chairs with no cushions and the towels you have to go to the front desk for. I went to the front to buy a soda from the cooler, $1. Later it was $2. Front desk customer service throughout our stay was disappointing. 2 stars was for the breakfast. Breakfast was the best part of our stay. Full hot breakfast with lots of extras.
Excellent service and location to different recreation areas. The respond for any concern about the place is excellent I love the silence during the night, and I did not miss my bed, I will came back really soon for my family vacation is a really nice atmosphere.
They called us a day before to let us know we have a room with no windows and if would like to change to the mini suit instead. Eventually we ended up is a room that was originally a meeting room. (Tiffany's room) It had no windows but it was huge! to queen beds , sofas, table, bathroom and separated restroom. We were with 3 kids and a dog so it fitted us well. The breakfast was very rich with lots of options and the nice part was ou could sit outside by the pool to eat.
Everything about this hotel exemplifies BW commitment to excellency. The property exterior is well maintained with beautiful and lush landscaping. Inside, the lobby is elegant and welcoming as are the staff. The staff truly seems to care about the customer's experience. The rooms are very nice: clean, spacious and somewhat extended with very usable balconies. The breakfast is AMAZING!!! Fruit, nuts, eggs, meat, yogurt and all kinds of breads and pastries. The pool area is also beautiful and a nice place to spend an hour or 5. You will not be dissappointed. DO NOT STAY AT GOLD COUNTRY INN!!!
I chose to stay at Placerville Inn while coming to Red Hawk Casino since it is just a few minutes away. The staff is very helpful & curtious. The breakfast was plentiful & delicuous. I would definitely stay here again.
Bruce, the man in charge of the complimentary breakfast section, was exceptional. Very friendly, courteous and attentive to his duties. The breakfast area was well stocked, clean and he kept the coffee containers full; he even refilled cups at the tables, which was above and beyond his responsibilities. There was never a shortage of any item, as he restocked everything immediately. Bruce is an excellent employee - a definite plus to our experience! The hotel reception desk sort of fouled up the reservation and didn't book all the rooms requested. Fortunately, it was resolved. There is no elevator to the 3rd floor - you have to haul luggage up the stairwell. Others in our group also said bookings were wrong - someone with a bad knee requested a 1st floor room in advance - they were booked on the 3rd floor and nothing else was available at arrival.
The location is convenient in proximity to freeway. Full service restaurant with bar is 25 paces from hotel. Hotel rooms are secure and easily accessible to guest. Breakfast is a good amenity, plenty of breakfast choice, well prepared and presented.
This is a very peaceful, quiet hotel. The staff is nice, the rooms are big (and clean), and the breakfast was good. There is free popcorn in the lobby, and a nice atmosphere. The only thing it's missing is an elevator. If you are unable to use stairs or carry your bags up stairs, specify the ground floor. We stayed upstairs, but my husband was able to haul our bags up.
Hotel was a little hard to find but other than that the rooms were clean, pool and spa were nice, and the complementary breakfast was pretty good! A special shout out to Jeff, a of the member of the the Best Western staff, he's a friendly and hard worker. Jeff is definitely an asset to this best western location.
We were in town for a wedding. This hotel was perfect for all our needs for the weekend. The room was spacious. The view of the grounds was beautiful. The bathroom was a little cramped but had everything we needed. There are no elevators if that is a deal breaker for you but we didn't mind it at all. Good value and nice rooms. Breakfast was good too!
Sorry to write this as all of the staff were pleasant and helpful. The room was on the 3rd floor and yet, there was no elevator for the luggage, one floor but hey. The room was dated and, although tidy, you can't clean years of use. Our room faced the highway and the window had no screen. The A/C took quite a while to catch up to the days heat. The price was right but we opted to stay farther out of town when our trip was done in Placerville.
The property is very well maintained and a great place to stay, They offer a breakfast that has a variety of choices, and very fresh and tasty. We have stayed at a lot of Best Western/Plus hotels over the years and this one is a bit higher in price, but still a good value for the area
Great stay overall! Happy helped us figure out the printer on our first night and Bruce made a fantastic breakfast the next morning! There was also a man yelling at the front desk and Bruce closed the door so none of us had to hear it--thanks Bruce!
Very accommodating and comfortable. The continental breakfast was delicious. Bruce kept everything stocked and was very polite to all of us sleepy folks. There was an incident where someone was yelling in the lobby, and he diffused the tension with humor and made everyone more comfortable. He even offered us extra muffins before he closed everything up.
Liked the location of room when requested Particularly liked the bedding Had a window that opened Excellent reading light over bed Breakfast room located conveniently near rooms Best Western located conveniently to freeway
Room was comfortable, not noisy at all! The breakfast was great! Bruce was working hard to make sure we were fed and all of our needs were met all while making great conversation! The eggs and bacon were always re stocked to stay hot, and the waffle maker is the best thing in existence. I love it more than myself!
Bruce was a very hard working man. He was always making sure everyone had what they needed. We greatly appreciated his services! The room was very clean and big. It had everything that we needed including enough towels and enough pillows. I highly recommend this hotel!!
We know that a Best Western is not a Ritz Carlton resort, and it doesn't have to be. So this is not the best hotel I've ever stayed at, but I give it the highest review because it delivered superbly on what it was supposed to deliver. I am very picky about TA reviews, and this was the first Excellent I have ever given, because it was a great value! We were traveling on a road trip with a toddler and dog, so the BW had a microwave, large fridge, and only $20/day pet fee. The price was very reasonable, and the free breakfast was better than your typical 3-star hotel (they had more fruit and bacon/sausage). The wifi was free, reliable, and fast (isn't it funny how cheap hotels give good free wifi but pricey resorts offer spotty paid wifi?). The location was convenient and there was plenty of parking. The rooms were very spacious, clean, and with newer furniture. The cable TV froze here and there, but that was likely due to the cable company. The staff were pleasant and efficient, and even though it was a holiday weekend and sold out, it did not feel crowded. The bed and linens were comfy, the room was quiet (despite being poolside), and the AC/heater unit kept the room at a good temp. The pool was fairly small and the pool towels were not fully dried from their last watch, but those were minor issues. The bathtub did not drain well, but it was likely due to hair from previous guests and an easy fix if we cared to call it in.
The landscape around the pool area was beautiful. The complementary breakfast was very filling. Along with cereal with toppings, breads, muffins, Danish, make-your-own-waffles, and yogurt, they also had scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, and fresh fruit. Bruce kept the breakfast area neat and was constantly refilling the items. I really like the way he cut the watermelon into wedges. Some places cut the watermelon into cubes and they start looking too soft very quickly. You could either cut the wedges into bite-size pieces or pick them up by the rind to eat them. We would definitely stay there again.
I am a disabled woman traveling alone. The staff at this location was OUTSTANDING. To a person, they treated me as if I were part of their family. The front desk staff came around the counter to open the door and give me my paperwork. The housekeeper got ice for me and during breakfast the staff offered help before I asked and even arranged a tray to help me gather my food. These small touches made my visit so comfortable I am ready to visit again. The manager Aaron runs an excellent hotel.
We stayed at the hotel for a wedding nearby. Jeffrey, who worked the breakfast room was so friendly, and made sure we were well taken care. He's the best attendant we've had for a hotel breakfast. If in the area, we would absolutely return because of his excellent service.
The Presidential Suite was so comfortable and the only thing we forgot was our swimming suit(s). Bring yours, the pool and hot tub are lovely. Although the location is perfect (directly adjacent to the freeway), we were not bothered by the normal freeway noises. Beautiful flowers welcomed us. The grounds were also lovely. The staff were attentive and helpful. Overall this is a great experience. I hope you take the time to try it out.
dont expect a lot and you will be ok. . convenient to town but next to the freeways so traffic noise was very loud breakfast was crowded and barely able to accomodate visitors staff seemed harried and somewhat overwhelmed
A "last minute" RSVP when another hotel in the area gave us a "full" sized bed was a relief & reasonably priced find during County Fair weekend. Just off the highway and relatively quiet, there's a good Mexican restaurant right next door or head into "downtown" Placerville for lots of dining choices. The hotel is a bit care worn but clean with good beds, very helpful manager & staff. Breakfast (included) with attentive Chef/staff person has a good selection to choose from: muffins, yogurts, make your own waffles, scrambled eggs, bacon & sausage, bananas & apples, multiple juices and very good coffee. Ask for a room on the 1st floor if possible (numbering starts with 200's) as there's no elevator.
We stayed here after a wedding at one of the orchards in Apple Hill. It's well-maintained, was close to Apple Hill, and had breakfast included. The staff was helpful. We would stay here again if we were in the area.
This motel was clean, relatively quiet and very accommodating for our large wedding party. The breakfast area, run by Jeffrey, was always clean, never ran out of coffee, etc.. It made the experience of living away from home for four days much easier than I thought it could be. The motel cleaning service was responsive and friendly. We had one light in the bathroom not working and it was fixed before I even knew someone had been called. The Mexican restaurant next door was delicious and had great margaritas. The front desk staff was friendly, courteous, and clearly wanted to make our stay a good one.
We stay here because there is no better place to stay in Placerville. The new owners are trying hard to make this place nice but it's still a bit run down and needs more work. The building is three stories but has no elevator. The rooms are clean, the bathrooms are clean and the carpet needs replacement. The complimentary breakfast is just so-so; cold eggs, cold coffee, cold bacon. Maybe I'll try the waffles the next time. Good things: Red Hawk Casino is nearby, So. Lake Tahoe is a beautiful one hour drive away, Lots of nice wineries in the area and great gold rush history all around. Oh, and there's a very good Mexican restaurant right across the parking lot.
Overnight stay to visit the area and found this hotel. Very clean and nicely decorated. The pool was clean as was the restroom for pool users. The breakfast was very nice. "Jeffery" the chef in charge was very personable and did a wonderful job presenting a delicious and varied morning breakfast. When we visit the area again we will certainly return here. The only negative was our view from our room window was of the busy freeway and our vanity light was not working.
We stayed here a couple of nights for a friends wedding. Good location, 5 minutes from downtown Placerville. The staff was really nice! Called 5 minutes after check in and I told them the light in the bathroom was out. Within 10 minutes a maintenance man came and fixed the light. Really wonderful folks. The room isn't great, but it's not a fancy place. The bed was very firm, and for me who likes a soft mattress, it wasn't great. My boyfriend thought it was perfect...haha. The bathroom is a little odd, small vanity. The free breakfast was awesome! One of the best I have had. Stocked with all sorts of breakfast items, and a staff that kept coming in a refilling. I wouldn't stay here again if I was looking for a fancy spot, but for the price, was right on!
convinient location, we spend 2 days at this hotel, room was nice and clean and nice breakfast in the morning close to restaurants/grocery and convinient stores. will come back againg in the near future
I recently stayed here for three nights during a friends wedding. I am a very optimistic and encouraging person so I wanted to start with the good/highlights: Most of the staff (other than front desk) were AMAZING. Specifically, Bruce who singlehandedly cared for 100+ guests each morning as they come to eat the free breakfast. This man worked so hard, was incredibly nice and went the extra mile for each person. Honestly, I have never seen someone work so hard! He was truly amazing. I only wish the hotel would give him help. This is WAY too much for one person to do alone. I run a 30 room hotel myself and I would NEVER have just one person at the breakfast! This man is a hero and if he would move to colorado, I would hire him in a heartbeat and give him a huge raise! The breakfast itself was robust, complete with Hot Waffles with everything you would need to doctor them up, bagels, eggs, breakfast meats, hot coffee, pastries, yogurt, etc. I was also greeted by the other cleaning staff in an incredibly courteous manner. When I was walking down the hall headed to my car, I was greeted with "Good Morning! Thank you so much for staying with us. I hope you have a GREAT day." It was nice to be greeted this way. Now to share some of the not-so wonderful things: This motel is certainly nothing to write home about. The rooms are a bit outdated (my guess is they haven't been touched since the 80's or earlier). The pillows were chunky and the rooms were stuffy. The AC unit worked *some of the time. Our friend who was getting married booked this with a block of rooms over a year out. They filled the block of rooms and was told they would have access to a room to do an after party after the wedding. We called to confirm the times and dates of the after party a few days before and everything was fine. However, when 30+ people arrived back to the hotel, we were told that the room was not available. They said that the room was reserved for earlier that night. They were not going to give us the room to use until we continued to talk with them and the manager. They eventually allowed us to use the room but there was no staff there to help set up, clean up or provide ice, etc that was supposed to happen. They did not apologize or acknowledge their failure and tried to blame it on us! We were simply trying to get things taken care of so the bride and groom did not have to deal with this on their special day. It was a bit of a nightmare. However, the night ended late and we had a good time regardless! We are grateful we worked it out and made the most of an unfortunate turn of things. We were told at check-in that due to my diamond status, we could have a late check-out but we would need to call the morning of check out to arrange. I did that as I knew I would need a bit more time to check out. I arranged this before going to bed (it was early in the morning). We were woken up with loud knocks on the door FIVE TIMES! We even had the do not disturb sign on the door! The first time was at 9am and it was maintenance. He knocked...we ignored as we were sleeping. He walked in and yelled "Maintenance" We said, we were still sleeping and he said "Did you put in a maintenance request?" We said "No" and he said "Whoops.... must be the wrong room" and slammed the door and walked out. Then about an hour later, we got a knock from Housekeeping. They asked when we were checking out. I told them that I arranged a late check out and she politely apologized. We were then awake but showering when we got another knock from the same maintenance guy. Since I had just gotten out of the shower, I opened the door in my towel. It was now 11am. He said he was here to fix the issue we asked about and again I told him that we did not have an issue. he said "you know it is check out time right?" I told him that we had arranged a late check out and he said "Oh... I have no record of that" and he walked away. This continued to happen. two more times by housekeeping. All in all, this was not a good experience. We loved being with our friends at the wedding and we were happy to have a place to sleep but for the price and the experience we had, (other than Bruce and the other staff that were so sweet) we would not return. I would NOT recommend this place to any family or friends in the future.
Great motel and service. Happy and June Rock!!! Thanks. After the discovery of gold at Sutter's Mill in nearby Coloma, California, by James W. Marshall in 1848 sparked the California Gold Rush, the small town now known as Placerville was known as Dry Diggin's after the manner in which the miners moved cartloads of dry soil to running water to separate the gold from the soil. Coloma is a great place to visit. Later in 1849, the town earned its most common historical name, "Hangtown", because of the numerous hangings that had occurred there. Steve and Joy
My wife and I (and her family) stayed here before a rafting trip and the rooms were nice and beds very comfortable. The next morning we had a nice breakfast buffet and Bruce was working hard to keep it stocked. He was very personable as well, it is nice to see someone take pride in their work! I travel quite a bit and I see way too many people who have a bad attitude.
We decided to go white water rafting and booked this motel the night before. The staff were quick and professional. The room was clean, large and bed comfortable. The pool and spa were nice. There was a local Mexican restaurant/bar next door(walking distance) that was really good. The continental breakfast had scrambled eggs and bacon available and was attended to by the staff.
Clean and comfortable. This facility had large rooms. Everyone was friendly and helpful. Could not believe how quiet this location was at night. Breakfast was good and the area was kept clean. No time waiting
My friend and I stayed here on a quick getaway. It was clean and comfortable if not fancy. The staff was courteous and the breakfast excellent. Any time I can get waffles AND bacon AND scrambled eggs I am a happy camper!
This facility was pleasant and friendly. They are professional and and helpful. I would absolutely would stay at this facility again. It has easy access to and from the highway. Close to stores and gas.
Place just felt unclean. Simple request of extra pillows was ignored - cleaning staff didn't show up that morning. Bathroom floors felt sticky. Breakfast was lukewarm. Just not a very pleasant experience at all.
We were very happy with everything about this hotel even though it was a bit out of the way. The nearby Mexican Restaurant was great for dinner and breakfast was great and so was the employee looking after it - very friendly and helpful.
We have stayed at this hotel for the past 5 years during our annual trip to CA. Staff was quick to change our room to a handicapped one close to parking. Hotel was quite and beds were VERY comfortable. Breakfast was best we have experienced and remodeled eating area was well done.
We picked this hotel for its location - close to family we were visiting. The room was quite large and had everything we needed. The bed was okay but not great. We stayed for 3 nights and did not receive maid service after our first night. They shorted us towels the next day and we didn't notice until we were getting ready to leave to the airport. Worst thing was the smoking. Ashtrays by the doors encouraged staff and guests to smoke right next to the doors, including inside the pool area. Guests on the first floor smoked on their balconies. Even thought the location was perfect, we won't stay here again.
Great service and people. Clean rooms, comfortable beds, great breakfast. Good deal for the money. Great place to stay for wine tasting! Located near El Dorado and Amador county wineries. We were there for a wedding and they took good care of us. Jeffrey in the breakfast area did a great job, very helpful and very accommodating.
Was able to check in early at 2:00pm despite the ongoing wedding party that must have filled the hotel and kept the staff busy. In fact we thought the front desk was very helpful with tips on where to eat and what to do in town. The room was spotless clean with good décor and furnishings and the bathroom was good sized. The breakfast was better than expected too. WiFi worked perfect even on my old Nook tablet. Nice place where pride of the franchise owners shows up in the small details.
This was a fantastic place to stop in Placerville after touring wine country! Aaron in the front office was very helpful when we needed an extra towel and had to pick up an early to-go breakfast. Overall, great stay!
Unless I am able to reverse the charge for a reservation I made in error I would consider Best Western to be extremely non-user-unfriendly, particularly since I immediately made another reservation for the correct date upon discovering my error. I essentially have paid twice for an overnight stay. I understand non-cancellation policies when they apply to changes of travel plans, but this was a simple mistake I made in a moment of carelessness on the on-line reservation page and should qualify for a reversal of charges.
The room was clean and spacious with two queen beds. Breakfast was good with many choices. The people were nice especially Jeffrey who I met in the breakfast area. The location is right off highway fifty. It is close to many wineries and tasting rooms.
The room was clean and had everything we wanted plus more. Bruce, made sure we had a huge variety of hot fresh food for the complimentary breakfast. Thank you Bruce for the amazing service and wonderful breakfast. We came to get away and we enjoyed ourselves so much we know we will be coming back.
We were there for a wedding. Everyone with the party complained of noise. The staff was not prepared for the amount of people staying at the hotel. The hotel attempted to take care of their errors (still waiting for charges to fall off that weren't mine).
The room was clean and had all the amenities we needed. Nick, the manager, made sure we were happy. They also serve the most wonderful full breakfast in the morning. It really starts your day off well for travelling: eggs, sausage, yoghurt, waffles, juice, coffee, etc. Couldn't have been happier with the service.
Very nice place. Jeffrey in the breakfast area was amazing . He made sure everyone was happy and content. Thank you Jeffrey for the wonderful service. Clean and spacious rooms. Nestled in the hills. Definately recommend. Will stay here again with the family.
The place was clean the staff was nice and friendly and Bruce was helpful and attentive. The Mexican restaurant right next door was convenient, food pretty good and margaritas big and tasty, staff was also nice and friendly. The room didn't have a thermostat which wasn't so great. We opened the window which was fine until the 430 am traffic started up which was loud, the place is right on the freeway, oh, and the pillows are TERRIBLE!!!! 5 little squares that were over stuffed like couch pillows, would have been better off using my boots as a pillow.
We have stayed at this hotel a few times over the years and this past stay was by far the most pleasant. The staff was courteous and helpful. The rooms clean and comfortable. Even the continental style breakfast was not bad and in fact the pancakes from their auto-make machine were pretty good.
Rooms clean, breakfast was great. Staff was polite especially Bruce, checked on us making sure everything was good. Would recommend anyone to stay here, its very easy to get to. Right off the freeway.
My husband and I loved staying here. Good sleep clean room and everyone was happy to have us. We got a call after checking in with in 10 minutes to make sure our room was to our liking. There is good Mexican food across the parking lot it's close to Red Hawk Casino. and they have a free breakfast in the mornings. My husband loves the waffle's and I must say so do I. Good coffee
Most people that I talk to and including ourselves don't usually get a good night's rest outside of their own home and bed. However, we have always enjoyed a good night's rest at Best Western Hotels. The beds are very comfortable and for us it's a major plus for our stay away from home.
Affordable we stayed pool side view. Quiet and comfortable. The weather was perfect for relaxing pool side we decided to stay another night. The exercise room isn't great , but hey go for a walk and stop and smell the beautiful roses . Friendly staff - Restaurant next door and 2.5 miles to old placerville
We were met by the General Manager, June G. June was exceptional from the start. June advise us that she will check to see if our room was available for us to check in and yes it was ready. This Best Western is completely different. The hotel colors are very nice and some rooms have a balcony. The hotel stairwell is indoors. We were placed on the third floor. The room is spacious with a flat screen tv, microwave oven and a fridge. The room was clean and nice. This hotel is very convenient to getting on and off Highway 50. The hotel is also close to strip malls consisting of restaurants, banks, Safeway, CVS, Kmart, Ross, UPS store, gas stations and a Mexican Restaurant next door to the property. We enjoyed our stay and shall return. The hospitality is exceptional and it is the closest hotel to the Red Hawk Casino. This hotel is also close to the famous Diamond Springs Hotel Restaurant. When you are in the area, I would suggest you choose this hotel.
nice place ,friendly staff.a bit loud due to freeway nearby.has casino shuttle that is convenient and easy to access.has nearby restaurant.nice landscape, well maintained has a happy hour in afternoon.
We come here every year for a yearly event. It's usually fine, but this year it was a cut above. The service was excellent. From the assist with the luggage checking in, to the extra keys, and the impromptu bar set up by the pool Saturday night run by the hotel manager. "Raider Dave" who bar tended. He's a great guy, (even if he is a Dodger's fan) and a lot of fun. But he runs a tight ship. And I have never seen anyone work harder than the two men working the breakfast area in the mornings. Also, every person we encountered at the front desk was cheerful and efficient. Can't wait for next year! The only negative was the hot tub heater wasn't working, but people got in anyway due to the great weather.
Check-in and Check-out fast and professional! Centrally located for wine tasting in Eldorado County. Complimentary breakfast - luke- warm eggs and sausage the first morning - luke-warm eggs and bacon the second morning. Need more breakfast staff help.
We had a very nice stay. The staff is friendly. The Inn is close to many attractions. Casa Ramos Mexican restaurant across the parking lot, no need to fire up the car. Roses around the grounds are beautiful. It is a good deal compared to other places to stay in the area. The pool is nice. There is a hot tub and they have a bar in the lobby for happy hour. Friends meeting here have a great place to visit and enjoy their time together.
Arriving at this hotel the outside is very attractive. The flowers and outside pool are inviting. If you can request a room with a balcony or access to the pool, do so. Otherwise the opposite side of the hotel faces the highway that is noisy. We didn't have a balcony room and that was a disappointment. We were on the third floor, I never found an elevator, so we carried all our luggage up the stairs with my bad knee. The breakfast area is nice and food options were good. I would have probably given a higher rating of it wasnt for the stairs and the non balcony room.
As we entered the hotel we were greeted with strong smells of disinfectant in the halls and room. If you have allergies beware. The room smelled of cheap cologne and the chair was seriously stained. The complementary breakfast was good.
My job requires me to travel 2/3 of the year meaning i spend vary little time at home. threw experience i tend to choose the best westeren name over all the other hotels out there. haveing stayed at over 30 different best westerns i would have to say that hands down, The Best Western Plus Placerville Inn Is by far the the best hotel experience that have had all year. with A++ front desk customer service from Aaron, this place is my home away from home. its people like Aaron that make all the traveling worth it. If checking in when Aarons working your guaranteed a friendly warm greeting and prompt service at any time that it is requested. my work this week is in sacramento ca, and im writing this review from placerville ca (40 min away). the commute alone should give you an idea as to how much i love it here. So, If your ever up this way either staying or passing through on your way to tahoe, id strongly advise you stay atleast one or two nights here!!!!!! I found out about this place 2 mos ago and this is my 3rd visit to this Best Western. I only wish that all the other Best Westerns would use Aaron as a model for all their employees. will defiantly come back again.
Our rooms were nice and the people were friendly. I appreciate the front lobby, "Happy", was truly a personable host. She was eager to please even when we needed a different room. The breakfast was outstanding. Jeffrey was quick to respond to our needs. Never let anything get depleted. I will visit again. Debbie M.
I had a very pleasant time at the Best western. My hotel rate was kind of pricy, but I have to say that the breakfast was awesome. Then the place was very close to the casino so that is a big plus. I hope to get a good rate when I go back because I like the location I just wish that it would be a little be more affordable so I have more money to play.
Jeffrey the chef took very good care of the breakfast area. The Sunday we checked out was very busy and Jeffrey made sure all of the breakfast items were well stocked and replaced before they ran out. In addition Jeffrey kept the serving areas and tables clean and ready for the next patron. Our Hats Off for Jeffery!!!!
This was a great place to stay in the Placerville area. It was close to many amenities and activities. BW had a hot tub and free breakfast which is why we chose to stay there. It was quiet and well maintained. I was disappointed though that I spent an hour with my phone service since I could not get internet on my phone. I could get it in the lobby but not in the room.
We had a lovely breakfast at our stay at this motel. Buffet has fresh eggs, waffles, cereal, coffee, juice, etc. We were in town for a family wedding. Beautiful part of California. Motel has swimming pool, but we didn't try it. Room was fine. It has a fireplace.
We stayed at the BW on a trip to see the World of Outlaws race at the Fairgrounds. Very close and easy to get to the Fairgrounds. Very courteous employees. Jeffrey was especially helpful and friendly while we were having breakfast, helping us with the pancake machine and filling up the food that was getting low. Large, clean rooms made this stay a great value. Will definitely stay here again!
We were in Placerville for an event at the fairgrounds, and chose this motel because it allows pets. I would definitely stay here again. The Good: * Pet Friendly. Although the motel's policy says that pets can't be left unattended in the room, the staff here didn't take exception to our leaving our small, well-behaved dog in his crate while we were at the fairgrounds. They said that they'd have to charge us if the dog barked and bothered the other guests, but since our dog will wait quietly for us in his crate, there was no issue. * Spacious room with small refrigerator, microwave, and safe. * Shower/tub combination in the bathroom. * Full breakfast included. * Generally clean and well-maintained, with a couple of exceptions (see below) * Friendly, gracious staff. Front desk personnel, housekeepers and breakfast room attendant were all pleasant and helpful. * Conveniently located - a short drive to the fairgrounds. * Mexican restaurant next door. Some Improvement Needed: * The website says to call the property directly to reserve a pet-friendly room. When I called mid-February to make the reservation, their phone wasn't working. (Possibly due to an extensive area outage.) I called the toll-free Best Western number to make a reservation and specified that I wanted a pet friendly room. They sent an e-mail confirmation, but it said nothing about a pet friendly room. So I had to call the toll-free number again, to have them update the e-mail confirmation. I was able to reach the property two days later, and reiterated my request for a pet friendly room. However, when I called the motel on the day of our arrival to request an early check-in, they didn't realize that we'd have our dog with us. Long story short, we got a pet-friendly room, but it took multiple calls. * The front desk clerk told me that there was a nice area where I could walk the dog. She directed me to take the stairs to the first floor, and go out the door to access the area. It's behind the hotel. I don't recommend it. Fine for dog walking, but it's isolated and I felt uncomfortable being back there by myself. There wasn't a suitable trash can there for depositing dog waste, and once you leave the motel, the door locks behind you. You can't get back into the motel without walking around the building. If you find yourself in this no man's land, the best bet is to walk towards the back parking lot. I made the mistake of walking towards the main road. It was rough going. There are many thorny shrubs; not easily traversed by a Chihuahua. I had to carry the dog back to the hotel entrance. After that experience, I just walked the dog in the landscaped area adjacent to the parking lot. * Our window looked out on Hwy 50, and the room had a lot of traffic noise on the afternoon of our arrival. It was quiet when we got back late that night. We were there on a Wednesday night. Hwy 50 has a lot of traffic on Fridays and Sundays during the ski season and during the summer, with weekenders going to and from Tahoe. So traffic noise could be an issue well into the night depending upon the time of year and the day of the week. * There were two members of the housekeeping staff who were working in the hallway outside our room when we first arrived. They were pretty noisy. Our room was also noisy on the morning of our departure, when the guy in the adjacent room was having an extended conversation on a speaker phone. (Not much the hotel could have done about this guy, but just making a point that the room was not as quiet as we'd have liked.) * We had good night's sleep here. My husband thought the bed was comfy enough. I thought that the mattress sagged a little bit in the center. * The bed linens (sheet, blanket, coverlet) were thin, and there wasn't a spare blanket in the closet. It was chilly during our stay, and it would have been nice to have warmer covers. Also, I noticed the next morning that the top sheet had some set-in stains. I'm sure the sheet was clean, but I don't think that a motel should continue to use stained sheets. * I had a $10 voucher from Best Western. I was told it could be applied upon check out. The morning clerk had difficulty applying the voucher, so he just took $10 off my total bill and handed me an invoice showing a balance due of $10. He said he'd have to use another computer to clear the charge. While I was happy that Best Western gave me this voucher, I think they should offer better training so that the experience of using the voucher is seamless for the guest.
This is a nice place to hang your hat for a night or two. We've stayed with this BW every March for the last 7 years for a charity event we attend in the area. The rooms are spacious. We had a room with a fireplace(not real wood. The plug in type). The grounds are well kept. The pool was super clean(not heated). The staff is friendly. The wi-fi was only ok.
I had a funeral for my father on March 5th and I have to say Dave was outstanding. Dave's coworkers were not. Most all of them were rude or did not understand English. The (East Indian) front desk clerk seemed angry and had me repeat over and over how many rooms I had reserved until Dave stepped in to help. The women at the front desk(Hispanic) that I reserved the initial reservation was not friendly, slightly rude and seem as if she was doing me a favor to book me room at $135 a night for average room with no view. I have to say the women who set-up the breakfast on 3/7 and 3/11 was very kind but most of all Dave was great, so sweet about how I was doing and so kind to all my family that travel from all around the state. Found out Dave is from Sunnyvale where both my husband and I were raised. If Dave is not the manager there, he really should be or better yet he belongs at a Ritz Carlton. He is five star all the way!
My family of 2 adults and 2 children enjoyed our overnight stay. Room was very clean and updated. We liked the fridge and microwave and of course flat screen TV. Beds were comfy and we all got a good night's rest. Complimentary breakfast had a variety of goodies for all our tastes. Jeffrey, who was taking care of breakfast area, was attentive, stocked up when needed, and kept area and tables clean. Overall, great service by all employees and we had a pleasant stay. Only neg, much to our kids disappointment, pool was cold. But, the warm hot tub made up for it.
My department paid for this and I stayed in 324. The bath tub smelled like mildew and there was this bubble on the ceiling from a leak. The carpet was not wet so I knew it's something they haven't taken care of in a while. I would drive a little farther and stay in el dorado hills.
I recently spent 2 nights at this establishment. My room was spacious and clean. The full breakfast included in the room price was good. However, the free Wi-Fi Internet was terrible. I had to go into the lobby to first connect to the Internet. It worked O.K. during the late morning-mid afternoon but in the evening, it was essentially useless. I was dropped offline several times and was unable to respond to e-mails. If you don't need an Internet connection, I would recommend this hotel. However, if you do need an Internet connection, I would look elsewhere.
The room was very clean. I requested a room away from the road side when I made the reservation but was given a room facing the road at check in so it was a little noisy. The breakfast room was cold so the food did not stay hot very long. There is no elevator so if you don't want to do the stairs, get a room on the lobby level..
I have to divide this into 2 parts because I had 2 experiences in the same visit. Night 1- I booked this on Expedia and I had accidentally chosen the handicapped room. I did not need it, it was purely by accident. Upon checking in and finding this out, I asked if I could have a different room because I don't like being on the first floor as a single woman. The man behind the counter was super nice and started to look and then the woman, who was so not nice at all, said no. I said I would pay the difference of moving rooms and she said no, since it was pre-paid. I again said it was an accident and asked if there was anything that could be done but the woman said no because "I picked this room" and the reason I got it cheap was because it was handicapped. When I got to my room, it reminded me of why I normally don't stay in best westerns. The location, because it was handicapped accessible, was the first room in the building. On a corner, next to the door and hallway. It was by far the loudest and worst night I had ever spent in a hotel. I could hear every conversation outside of my room, word for word. I could smell the smoke of people smoking outside my patio doors. I could hear the house keeping carts on the tile entry way. It was miserable. I awakened by drunks outside my room around 130 in the morning and ended up being up until 530 because of all the noise. Needless to say, I woke up less than chipper. I went to the office again and got the nicest most helpful manager guy ever. He really saved the day. I asked if I could get a new room and he was able to move me around, at like 830 in the morning, with no issues. No extra charges, no drama. He really made my trip better. I checked into the room, which was bigger than the first one and on the third floor. It was completely different than the first night. No noise, no issues. Comfy bed and everything. Really, I wasn't in the room much the second night but my mind was put at ease in the new room. I don't know what the issue was the first night or why the lady was not so nice but the second day was saved thanks to the manager at the front desk.
Made us so hard to find ways to exit . No elevator will confuse older people, specially at time of emergrcy . The elevator access will make it easy way to remember where their way out near the stairs. Luggage going up and down to 3rd floor is a hussle .
I would recommend this Inn to anybody who wants to visit Placerville. The staff is great, the service is great, and the rooms were spacious. The location is convenient and just off of the highway. I will be definitely using this Inn again.
Booked through Priceline and the room we had was different from what we reserved. Had to pay more to upgrade to what we were supposed to have. Plumbing broken. Very dirty room. Would not recommend this hotel.
The hotel is good for a one night stay if you are on a road trip or going to Tahoe mountains. Was little disappointed because it is classified as Best Western "Plus" but I did not find anything nicer than a usual BW hotel. Having said that basic amenities were good. The hotel looked neat and clean, rooms were average with basic amenities. Nothing negative about the stay.
I asked for a quiet room upon check-in, and was put next to the ice machine, which I did not realize when I entered the room. Was awakened many times during night from people filling ice buckets. Told front desk at check-in, all they said was that the guy that checked me in was new, sorry. Would have been more appropriate to get a discount for not getting what I asked for. Also, why in the world is the ice machine so close to guest rooms??
Very convenient location just off Highway 50, we called here on the off chance whilst travelling through the area and we were not disappointed. Very nice well appointed room, clean and comfortable, room price includes Breakfast, free WiFI and Parking. 24 Hour Reception and Free Courtesy collection to and from the nearby Red Hawk Casino if that takes your fancy. Highly recommended as a place to stay if you are travelling to the Sierras.
Dave seemed to be the all-in-one guy and he did a wonderful job. We made our reservations on line and it reserved the wrong room for us but as soon as I showed him my reservation I had printed out he went out of his way to make it right for us. My husband and I had stopped by the casino before we went to the hotel and my husband lost his ID. Dave took the time to call the casino for us and found out they had it at their security desk, something he did not have to do but it was so wonderful he did that for us. We got a room with a fireplace in it and it was very nice.
We stayed again at the Best Western. We slept soundly on the king size bed in our room. There was a comfortable side chair. The flat screen TV had lots of channels. Since we had a good night's sleep there, I have rated it very good. The room also has a microwave and refrigerator. On the low side, we arrived Saturday around 5:00 when it was busy and a bit chaotic to get our room key card. Once we checked in though, we had a pleasant stay. Check out was fine. As such, I have given the staff an average (good but not very good) rating for this trip.
Pleasant check in person, nice orange infused water and popcorn available, also newspaper. Decent breakfast w/cereal, waffles, eggs, pleasant staff. The room seemed clean but dated and in need of carpet cleaning, not a place I'd like to spend time in. I like the shower/toilet separated from sink and hair dryer vanity. An ok bed, not great! Noisy hallway and we were right across from the heavily used ice machine. I thought that it would be ok because the ice would not be as necessary in the winter weather but I was VERY WRONG! Alot of use from 5am-7am with people talking too.
Have stayed at this hotel previously with no problem, but checked in late and found the carpet so dirty we couldn't take our shoes off. Too tired and late to ask for another room. Why wouldn't the cleaning staff mention it to mgmt? And could only get an 11:30 late check out.
The room was a nice room. We got two queens and a roll away because we have three kids (13, 9, 6). The staff definitely made this place worth the stay though. The morning crew puts on a great breakfast including waffles you can make yourself. If you're in the Placerville area, definitely consider this hotel.
Nothing fancy. Very basic. The room was entirely too cold. I didn't think it was ever going to get warm. I would not stay here again. There is a pool and a fitness center. Not a lot of options on places to stay in Placerville.
Good staff and facility in a central location with EZ drive from SAC and local attractions-shopping. Breakfast well stocked under watchful helpful staff . Food items were top quality, clean, and ample quantity.
I booked 2 rooms for the xmas weekend, the rooms, people and breakfast was amazing. People were friendly and cost was average for what you get. The bed was comfortable and the balcony was great for fresh air.
Rude and unfriendly check out experience at this hotel if you pay with cash. They get on a walky talky at check out, as your standing there twiddling your thumbs, as they are talking to another employee checking your room to make sure you didn't trash the room or something, I guess. They also require a $200 deposit if you pay cash. Not pleasant!!!
Hotel staff were friendly & helpful, especially Caitlynn during check-out. Room was very clean and spacious. Generous amount of complementary items provided in the room. Free breakfast is not typical continental breakfast. Waffles & bacon were yummy! Will definitely stay in this hotel when in the area!
On Dec 13th, I stayed at this Best Western instead of driving over the Sierras to South Lake Tahoe in a winter storm. I am sure glad I did. Gloria, the Exec. Housekeeper, personally ensured I had a wonderful room with electric fireplace. I stayed cozy and warm instead of fighting the storm. Room was large and nicely decorated. Very comfortable stay and I will stay there again!
Looking for a clean, quiet place to stay that has affordable prices, and is easily accessible from the freeway? Then look no further because the Best Western PLUS Placerville Inn in Placerville, CA is the place to stay. The friendly employees, clean facilities, central location, and affordable room rates are the reasons we make reservations there whenever we are in that area. So next time you need a place to stay in Placerville, CA, check out the Best Western PLUS Placerville Inn - you won't be sorry!
Where do I begin? Horrible beds, smelly stained carpet, no elevator, peeling wall paper, crumbling wall patches, no vent fan in shower, lame cable TV with very few lame channels. The breakfast was good and staff were friendly but this was by far the worst investment in a hotel/motel I've made in memory at $125.00 a night plus tax. Should change the name to Motel 1.
We were very content with our accommodations. We do not seek fancy motels, but we appreciate clean, safe and un-noisy locations such as Best Western Plus in Placerville, California. Thanks, and we'll be back.
We've stayed here many times in the past several years. The rooms are decent (executive king) and functional and fairly clean. Avoid rooms next to the main stairs (no elevator) and the downstairs laundry room, or facing the "meeting (party) room and pool if you want to sleep. The service of the reception varies greatly. on one trip I left behind a brand new pair of shoes I bought for an event. Even though I called within 24 hours, all I got were excuses. I called back several times, but they never bothered to return my calls or follow through. It was suggested I left them somewhere else even though that trip was one night only. Consider staying up the hill at Best Western, or the family owned Westhaven in Pollack Pines. Even though we book far in advance, our 2 requests seem randomly noticed.
Every year we go to Georgetown to get our Christmas tree and stay at this hotel but this year was the front desk clerk was extremely great!! My husband and I Travel with our two daughters and son-in-laws so we get more than one room. Sometimes we bring the dogs and they are welcome as well.
Our room on the first floor, road side of the hotel was loud from road noise and the heater is really loud and difficult to operate. The bed and pillows were not very comfortable. Other than that the place is fine, what you'd expect from a Best Western at this price. Good free breakfast. One positive thing stood out: my husband couldn't find his brand new iPhone as we checked out and decided he must have left it in the room. Went back and couldn't find it as the maid cleaned the room. Used our "Find your iPhone" app and knew it was on the property (not in our car). So kept looking, kept pestering housekeeping, and tried not to assume the worst (stolen by staff.) Finally, the manager himself went down to look in the room after housekeeping had looked several times, and he found it in a not-obvious spot where it was camouflaged. Happy that the staff was honest and helpful here!
Very nice and clean hotel. Close proximity to Apple Hill and other shopping areas in Placerville. I would consider using this hotel for my visits to the area in the future. Breakfast area was very nice and clean.
Hotel is very old. Carpet was very dirty in our room. Toilet was very low to the floor - very difficult to maneuver for elderly parents, and the handle kept getting stuck. Refrigerator did not work, so maintenance had to swap it out for one that did. Old heater/AC combo unit underneath the window was extremely loud. Not enough disabled parking. Breakfast room so crowded on Sat. morning that there wasn't room for us. Additional $20/day for a small dog should be used for carpet cleaning. Nice staff, for the most part. Freeway close.
I've been to this Best Western Plus several times. It's centrally located in the gold country and close to retail and historic destinations. I travel with my dog and staff has been very accommodating to us. I plan to stay here again in the future.
Wonderful stay, quiet, friendly helpful staff. I would highly recommend this motel when visiting the Placerville California area. Lots of sites to visit locally. Only downfall: no elevator to upper floors but both lower levels are fully accessible.
We belong to two wine clubs in the area and always stay at this hotel when we visit. The hotel is pet friendly, which is important to us, and the staff is friendly and helpful. I also like that the rooms have microwaves and refrigerators.
The Hotel is well placed. Close to shopping and Restaurants. The over all stay was some what married by lack of staff support. The lack o what wasf expexcted when we arrived and what we received was lacking. I feel that this Hotel compared to other Best Westerns is lacking. I would go to another down the road..
After arriving late in the night the hotel staff welcomed us and gave us our keys quickly. The rooms are spacious and equipped with a refrigerator, tv and a beautiful view among other necessary amenities. Out of al the great personnel Amber was extremely helpful and productive, If I had the chance I would stay here again. (The breakfast was a big plus.)
too lound leak n restroom nbad odor lady at checkin didnt offer another room until we said we go find another place to stay but theres not other places to stay near by anyways were not tha famiiuar with that area, but the professinal response shouldhv been to offer another rm right away
We checked in the hotel after dinner. no frills, room was large, basic, hair dryer was broken, ice machine was broken, had to walk to another floor for ice. Not worth the nightly rate we paid, but oh well. Breakfast was basic. Free wi-fi sucks.
This hotel is very well-kept, immaculate and convenient to many fun things in the Placerville and Apple Hill area. The pool and hot tub area are pretty with a garden, and the breakfast does feature hot eggs in a nice sun room. I love this hotel and go back. The only thing is when I stay on the side facing the highway, the highway is loud.
This Best Western hotel greeted us with refreshments in the lobby. The room was very comfortable and larger than most. The breakfast buffet was well supplied and the room was very pleasant. The location was very good --- just off the freeway but far enough away from any freeway noise. We recommend it.
I went there for staying one night ready next morning Apple Hill Harvest Run, but too bad I missed free breakfast 7AM till 10AM during I walked (jog) 3.5 miles at same time.. There was pretty expensive $ not cheap charges like over $100.00 for one night..
We stay here for the Dry Diggins Festival. I liked that the hotel was close to fairgrounds and the cab ride wasn't expensive. The front desk clerk ShArInA was great. She called the cab for us while we finished getting ready. Then she called us to let us know it was here. Thank for all the help. Greatly appreciated.
We lost our house in a fire in mid August, and ended up having to stay in the hotel for almost three months. The owner of the hotel was great and made sure our needs were taken of. Some of the staff members became like family and also helped us a great deal! We did not have our room cleaned everyday since we were there so long. When we did need service, we just had to ask the housekeeping manager, and it was handled. She was awsome! We want to thank management and everyone there for making a horrible time in our lives a little more bearable. Thanks!!
I was here with my family and everything was perfect. Nice hotel with great staff. Especially June at the front desk was very helpful and friendly, and so was Avi. Clean rooms. Had an enjoyable and comfortable stay. Would definitely return back.
This was my very first trip to Placerville and I was originally slated to stay at some other motel up at the end of Main Street. I was SO GLAD that I did NOT stay there. I asked someone in town what they recommended so I followed a "local's" advice and decided to try the Best Western Plus. I am so glad that I did. The awesome customer service was a plus, and the rooms were very clean and breakfast was great! T.V.had many great channels to choose from as well.
We had such a nice visit. Our room was clean. The house keeper, Gloria was so sweet to us. We bothered her twice for extra towels and a pillow and she was so gracious about getting them for us. We really appreciated it very much. Chris the maintenance man helped us bring all our luggage to our room and told us not to hesitate to call him if we needed anything else. That kind of service we really appreciate. We travel often and we don't always have such great service. Lastly as we were leaving we had the pleasure of meeting the owner, Kumar, which explains why the service was so great. He is a wonderful man. Thank you Best Western for making our trip just that much better!
We stayed at the bestwestern in placerville and the front desk clerk Avi and the maintenance man Greg were very helpful with finding us some wineries to go to in the Apple hill area thank you guys we had a blast...
Great team, awesome customer service, rooms very spacious, extra breakfast seating in meeting room was very helpful, internet speed was good, manager Avi very personable, also noticed ownership involvement in operations, interaction with staff, i believe his name is kumar , great leadership skills, will come back soon, keep up the good work,
Usually booking at a Best Western one can expect a clean but simple room. We booked 2 nights in a "deluxe" king with a rollout for $180 per night. Worst deal ever- the carpet was torn and filthy. Stains on the drapes and upholstered furniture. The bed and pillows uncomfortable and the window air unit noisy. The "free" breakfast was inedible. Really grossed out that the sheets were not changed (seems it should be our choice to opt out for a sheet change not the hotel's). Had we known we would have stayed at the Best Western Pony Express in Pollock Pines - an 8 mile drive farther down the road but much nicer option.
A large group of us stayed at the hotel for a wedding at the Sequoia Mansion. I don't tend to stay at Best Westerns because they are too inconsistent (a step above Days Inn and a step below Holiday Inn Express), but this is the only hotel in the area. The Good: -The hilly location is probably very pretty during times of the year when the earth doesn't look like it's dying of thirst. -It has a pool and a hot tub. -The "free" breakfast has a waffle maker. Yes, you will often have to compete with soccer moms for the waffle maker as it nearly always has a line, but it's better than frozen waffles. The "free" breakfast also has delicious powdered eggs and cheese and salsa to dump on top. -The a/c was nice and cold. It's the swamp cooler type that hums all night, but with temps souring into the upper 90s outside, it worked well. -Maintenance and housekeeping were lovely. The Bad: -Everybody we encountered at the front desk was rude. From calling to make the reservation, asking for extra toilet paper, checking in and checking out, there was never a pleasant interaction. -Different rates for different people. Some in the party were charged twice. Some were charged more than others. Some were not charged what they were told when they made the reservation. I was fine and not in the mood to argue. Double check you bill and your account. -There are no stairs. Granted, the second floor is actually the first floor so you only have to ascend or descend a flight, but it's a pain in the butt with luggage. -Very low water pressure. Do not use too much shampoo, otherwise you're going to have a bad time. -If your hotel room faces the pool area, you get to hear the gate slamming shut at all hours of the night. Bring ear plugs. -The wifi is terrible. This is an unforgivable sin. -This review will undoubtedly get a response from management asking why I didn't bring up these concerns in person. The answer is because doing so would result in an eyeroll. Seriously, you people are unpleasant to deal with.
My friends and I go to Placerville each year to visit Apple Hill, we go the night before and spent the night at the Best Western in Placerville. We like it so much we changed our date to go this year in order to be able to stay at the Best Western. The rooms are nice and very comfortable, the staff friendly, and the breakfast is excellent
The booking process was easy enough online. Not many options in Placerville. Went there for the weekend to visit the Apple Hill area. Upon check in everything was fine. I was surprised to notice that the "secure" entry into the Hotel that you are supposed to use your key card to get into wasn't even locked. When we got to our room we were in the bottom floor. The room smelled like cats and kicked up my allergies immediately. There were bad stains on the chairs and the carpet. The light by the bed did not work and the shower had horrible water pressure. The beds had small square pillows and not standard pillows and were not comfortable at all. They only had two towels in the room and we were a party of 4 in a double bed room. We decided to go try out the swimming pool and hot tub with my kids. The hot tub was like warm. About the temperature of what you would expect a swimming pool to be. The swimming pool was ice cold. The weather had been in the 90's that day. They had no towels at the pool. I went to the front desk when we were done swimming and asked for two additional towels. The front desk lady looked irritated and asked me for my room number and wrote it down marking that she had given me towels. I found this quite frustrating since we only were given two towels in our room. The room was noisy! We could hear everything going on in the room above us. Literally them just walking to the bathroom or talking. The only positive was the location and the breakfast was available. For the price I was extremely disappointed. Would pay double to not stay there again.
We had a nice weekend stay here. They have a nice breakfast and plenty of seating. So nice to not be crammed in like at some hotels. No problems with the room. Bigger than usual. It is old and not perfect around the edges but it was clean and comfortable.
This hotel is friendly, clean and very comfortable. There are many amenities such as the exercise room and free breakfast. My room was spacious, my bed was very comfortable and slept well during my visit. The only complaints I have was that I was on the 3rd floor and there is no elevator, so it was difficult dragging my suitcases up the stairs and the Wi-Fi didn't work very well.
It is old, dirty, stinky and messed up my reservations, my mothers reservations and my brothers reservations. They need a serious upgrade to the rooms and the grounds in general. The TV offered few stations and the shower was dirty and needed the tile to be replace. I wouldn't stay there again if it was the last place to stay.
Not too many places to stay when you do Apple Hill...but this Best Western makes it wonderful with it's employees...June at the front desk was fantastic and we were able to get a room right off the pool area...Gregory from the maint dept went out of his way to tell us which wineries we might like and even printed maps to tell us how to get to them...that is really going out of the way...add to this visit a happy hour with wine, beer snacks and a breakfast...what more could you ask for?
For the area, this is your best bet. It's clean, properly maintained, quiet and easy to park. Location is good, right off the freeway with places to eat, grocery, walmart, and wallgreens all very close. They have been doing upgrades to the hotel. I liked the decor, the beds were very comfortable and the pillows were great. Room was clean and smelled good. The carpet was clean, but stained. Good variety on breakfast and they have computers and a printer to use, free of charge. The staff is very pleasant.
Very nice place to spend the night, or more. The picture of the hotel shows balconies on the second floor. That was the reason I chose the second floor, however our room did not that. If you want the balcony, better specify. All and all, great motel!
I have been using this property, about once a year, since 1999 and it has continuously gone downhill to where I will not stay here any more. It started on checkin. There was only one clerk on duty and there were three people waiting to register when I arrived. The clerk spent more time answering the phone than registering guests. I waited over 20 minutes to check in. Room problems: I went to use the stopper in one sink and the metal rod came out in my hand. Then the toilet tank decided not to refill and we were forced to change rooms. The postage stamp sized pillows were very uncomfortable, suggest you go back to normal size pillows. There is not enough room in the breakfast area to move around without continuously bumping into other guests. The Scrambled eggs tasted like they came directly out of the fridge with even being warmed up. The bacon was very undercooked. The hot tub needs to be reclassified as a luke-warm tub. Each outside entrance had a sign on it that says the door is locked for our protection and please use your key card for entry. Not a single one off the outside doors was locked and we came in at various times including one late night - nice protection!
She (Amber) helped with our laptop problem, when i couldn't get the internet. she offered assistance in a little way that made the difference, thank to her, and also no ice in machine on lower floor. We loved the bed it was very comfortable.
We had a great breakfast. Amber was on duty and she was an excellent employee. Very personable and helpful and an obvious hard worker. Room was large with all amenities. Hot tub and pool area very we'll maintained We enjoyed our stay and would rebook this hotel again. We'd stay here again
Nice place, clean and attractive. only down side is noise from Highway 50. Nicely landscaped. There is a good Mexican food place right next door. The bad is if you are on the highway side of the building there is a lot of traffic noise. Although the staff were friendly and helpful, our room wasn't ready at 3PM as we were told it would be. This nearly caused a problem as we were attending a wedding at 5PM.
If you stay away from the freeway side of the building you`ll be okay. The rooms are very nice and the beds and pillows are very comfy. remember to stay away from the ice machine area. We have stayed here several times. The restaurante right next door is not too bad.
We enjoyed everything about the Inn except for the carpet in our room was stained really bad and worn. Otherwise the furniture, bathroom and walls were really nice. The pool was clean and the breakfast was fine. We would return if we knew the carpet had been replaced.
I just wanted to say that Amber, the Breakfast Attendant at this hotel was so friendly and chipper in the morning. She went and brought me honey for my tea, and she makes bacon, just the way I like it.."CRISP", not wiggling....!
