The scratchiest sheets I've ever felt ! In all my hotel stays thru years . Skimpy towels. Honestly how did this motel pass BW standards ? Old smell in room . Out dated furnishings like the 80 s. A shabby feeling . Very minimum breakfast no hot food tho theirs is a waffle maker . Very small breakfast room . No elevator . Across the street to a great restaurant lumberjacks
The motel is easy access, has a pool and spa. Owners and staff are accommodating. I am there weekly and will continue to come back. The hardest part is when the big trucks come into the parking lot it is hard to find a spot to park. Otherwise the place is the best spot in Willits
The rooms were very clean, and well maintained. The pool and Jacuzzi were clean, and refreshing. Breakfast had a good selection to pick from.
The room seemed clean, and the bed was comfortable enough. The older heating unit was a challenge to regulate. The room has modern appointments, including outlets near the bed for phone chargers. We were able to use 2 "Best Western Coupons", and the staff was really super friendly and helpful. The windows are thin, you can hear noise from the street like the windows are open. Difficult to fall asleep and needs earplugs. Not bad, but I will probably stay in another hotel next time.
Was everything a travel hotel needed to be - room was clear, AC was cold, towels were fluffy, pool/hut tub was clean, just the thing after a long day on the road. Breakfast packed a good variety into a small area, and the coffee was strong and hot. Not a new property, but well taken care of / maintained, and staff were friendly and helpful
We were welcomed by small bugs all over the room when we woke up in the morning. No one was at lobby to inform. We've stayed at many Best Westerns. This was horrible. Ironically, we probably paid more for the room then any other best western we've stayed.
Overall, we had a fine stay. 2 rooms, 2 nights. Room seemed clean and bed was comfortable enough. Older heating unit was a challenge to regulate. I'd recommend having additional blankets available in the room, especially during the winter. Had a strange automatic light near the sink that turned on every time someone walked by, a bit annoying in the middle of the night. Ck in was outside through a small window. 35 degrees and raining does not make this a reasonable experience. 1st time in 20+ hotel nights (throughout California) during Covid that I had to do it for the outside. Breakfast was not offered.
The hotel location is close to Willits downtown and there are grocery and other stores nearby. The breakfast is a small to-go bag during this COVID period. The only thing bothered me was a strange odor from the sink but since it was only one night, I did not report to hotel.
This is a very clean, well-appointed Best Western close to 101, perfect for an overnight stay on our long drive home from the redwoods. Most other hotels in the Del Norte/Humboldt area were booked, and we snagged the last room at a good rate. The room has modern appointments, including outlets near the bed for phone chargers.
The mattress was hard. Not enough blankets. Heater/ Cooler system didn't work properly. Bathroom tile grout lines on the floor were disgusting. Night stands were dirty with stains. Had white socks on and the carpet was dirty because of turning socks dark color.
The staff is super friendly and the rooms are comfortable and warm! I wish they had more hot breakfast choices but for a quick grab and go it does the trick. Book in advance as this hotel fills up often.
The hotel was nice for the most part. What caused this rating score was when I opened the door to the room it was like a sauna room in there. I had to leave the door and windows open and turn on the ac to get the heat out. I understand it was cold outside but not that cold.
Not bad, but overpriced and a couple things that didnt work for me. We asked for ground floor when we reserved our room, but we were put on the second floor and Mom doesn't handle steps that well, shes not handicapped, but we always try for ground floor and when there's no elevator for her its a issue. And the other thing is Eggs are required for it to be a real breakfast. Not bad, but I will probably stay in Garberville next time.
We were traveling from California with some of our kids and grandkids. It was great that we had the opportunity to take our time on the way back to Orgeon to see the red wood forest and take that beautiful route. This hotel was right on our way and did not take us off route coming home. We really appreciated that at we did have a long drive home. Our family rented three rooms and they were all very nice, comfortable and clean. Check in was easy check in and awesome breakfast with gluten free options. Management seems to really care about providing good service.
I have stayed at a lot of Best Western, and the Willits Inn is my favorite. Nic and Nina always go out of their way to make sure my stay is enjoyable. The rooms are always clean, the pool/hot tub are well kept, and it is in a convenient location.
Friendly accomdating staff. Breakfeast food is ok. This is an older hotel that has been kind of updated. Carpet was dirty and stained the bottom of feet dark. (Most Likely sute from fire firefighter boots that had to use the hotel because of the the areas fires.) A good carpet Shampooing would help! Walkable restuarnts across the street (Hwy) or esy drive. Willitis is a poor economic area with most residents in th epverty level. Homeless travlers and harveters in the area! Be careful and aware of your surroundings?
The room was clean and comfortable. Not crazy about the automatic movement lights. Light in bathroom didn't work at all and called front desk - they never came to fix it. Had to shower with cell flashlight.
Very Clean and very nice and helpful staff. Breakfast was good. Could use a little more "hot" items. Internet speed was great. Close to several places to eat. If traveling for business great place to stop.
Other than the surprise steep drive way, this is a nice clean Best Western with a great staff and views of the area. There is a small breakfast area and visitor information available to view and staff who regularly checks on the guests.
We stayed here one night and although the room was clean and okay, it was nothing special. Wi-fi did not work and the owner advised me to call the 1-800 number to fix it - not acceptable. The Lumberjack Restaurant is across the street and is good for all three meals - the breakfast at this hotel is VERY basic and there is only waffles for hot food.
We keep coming back to the Best Western Willits Inn because both the service and comfort , plus location, give one the peace of mind to take the next step... whether it's to go on to a great vacation or to tackle the difficulties of moving a 90 year old from a current living situation. We are always at peace and ready to embrace the next move after a night at the Willits Inn.
The hotel itself was clean and the room had a fridge and microwave with mini single coffee maker so this was nice. the process of organizing our group and contacting the women that runs the hotel was not good. She was not friendly and did not seem to care about us as customers or whether or not we gave her our business. I would not book there again there are many other places to stay in Willits.
It was over 100 degrees when we arrived at 4 p.m. We were welcomed by a very professional staff and air conditioned room. The room was large and nicely decorated. We would definitely recommend it to others.
dark musty room down a dirty unlit set of stairs, refridgerator in room was turned down so low as to be inoperable and was told it was just turned down low. good place to eat directly across the highway
This Best Western is way too expensive for what you get. Worst breakfast offering. ever. We normally stay at the Best Western in Ukiah, but they were booked full . Other than that, Willets is a nice little town.
This Best Western is just the 'Inn' category, so a simple continental breakfast rather than the full breakfast as the 'Plus' class. Nevertheless, the friendly couple who own it will make you feel very welcome and your business appreciated. Their staff, who checked us in, had a somewhat unhelpful attitude. Rooms are pretty standard. If I could change just two things, it would be 1) the timer that turns of the vanity/sink light — if you must economize, then have a motion detector on it! 2) the shower, where even in a non-handicap bathroom, grab bars would be apprecitaed. Be aware this is a 3-story building, so you will likely be sent up or downstairs to get your room. The WiFi worked great!
We checked in at 3pm, and found we were in a room that was very loud with traffic noise. When we asked if we could switch rooms to one along the back of the hotel, we were flatly told no, they were fully booked for the night. I understand being fully booked, but there was one other car in the parking lot. It was obvious that there were still a lot of people who would be checking in for the night. The lack of consideration showed was very upsetting. I took a photo to show just how close the rooms are to the road. This is a noisy road with busy traffic! Don't stay here unless there are no other options.
The room was spacious and clean. View was the store across Hwy 101. Even though right on the highway, the 3rd floor didn't get a lot of road noise, especially with the heat running. The temperature in the room was hard to regulate. Bed was hard and there were only two bath towels. I prefer to have a towel for my hair while I dry off. Lady at front desk was amazing during breakfast service. She helped guests find certain items, helped cook waffles and took care of checkouts all by herself, with a smile. The extra plus is just for her.
We had no intention of staying in a hotel for the night, but due to a fuel tanker overturned on the road we were traveling we were left with no choice but to spend the night somewhere and continue our travels in the morning. We were greeted by a very friendly staff and we were beyond excited to see how nice the room was. King bed that was very comfortable, lots of pillows, icebox, small frig, good size TV and the room was SPOTLESS!! I would highly recommend this hotel. Thanks for a great stay!
I frequently travel to Mendocino for work and always stay at the Best Western Willits Inn, most recently in February 2019. The staff is courteous and helpful, and the rooms are consistently well kept and very clean. The Best Western Willits Inn is centrally located within Mendocino County and there are plenty of good places to eat in Willits.
The hotel is nice and my room was spacious.-Shower was updated-internet worked very well-breakfast was limited but the coffee was decentIf possible try to avoid the first floor because it faces the main road into town and has a lot of traffic up until the end of the day.
Could do a little more for breakfast, but the overall value was good. Spacious rooms. Good service.Needs a little work on the driveway, a little less of an angle as it meets with the sidewalk, but that might just be being picky.
We are from upstate NY traveling out west visiting family. We always look for a good value. This is a very comfortable and friendly place to stay.Walking distance to restaurants. We would stay here again.
I stopped in to Willits and found the Best Western Willits hotel. The front desk staff was very pleasant and well trained. The lobby was welcoming and nicely decorated. The room was comfortable, clean, and the bathroom well stocked. The bed very comfortable, slept well. Very happy with this hotel.
i stay here every week and i have never had any problems. i love the customer service! they have my room ready same time each week and are very welcoming! the rooms are clean, the internet works great. unfortunately i leave to early for breakfast.
Clean rooms, friendly staff, beds were comfortable. The Willits Inn is what you expect from a basic Best Western. I checked in late at night and the front desk staff were very courteous and helpful. Rooms were well made up and the beds were comfortable.
We stayed at Best Western in Willits as we traveled through the state of California. The hotel is a good location. Rooms were large and clean. Pool and hot tub were outside. Breakfast had what we needed, waffles, oatmeal, cold cereal and pastries. Although no hot foods served at breakfast such as eggs, breakfast meats etc.I would recommend this hotel is you are looking for a clean place to stay in the area. We chose this hotel due to the recommendations on trip advisor. We were not disappointed with our stay.
Beautiful room very nice and clean. Had beautiful view with bistro set on balcony. Beds very comfortable. Very quit Super nice staff.Felt very safe. Firefighters were staying there on their way to the Mendocino complex fire. Hotel has a nice pool and laundry room.
Clean, comfortable room with a comfortable bed. There is a restaurant conveniently located across the street. The free breakfast included with the room rate was ok. I would stay here again and would recommend to other travelers
After an early flight arriving in Oakland, then spending the afternoon at Fishermans Wharf, we were exhausted. I had made the reservations before hand. This place was awesome! Quiet, clean, with a resturant across the street! We couldn't have asked for any more.
A stopping point on our way to Humboldt Redwoods. Excellent hotel with excellent staff. After staying at some rather interesting hotels on our road trip this was a breath of fresh air. It was clean, the pool was nice as was the hot tub. I washed clothes and they even had detegent to use. I had already brought my own, but it was a nice touch. They let us sit my the pool even after it was closed, since there were not any chairs elsewhere. It was busy but still very quiet.
Very quiet with double windows. Very large room with comfortable bed. Shower head with adjustment for tall people. Pool and I think laundry room. Full breakfast. Very convenient to get to the redwoods Avenue of the Giants. We would stay there again.
Coming home after husband's open heart surgery. We were allowed early check in and was shown the room 1st to see if it would work for us. The room was very nice, clean, large and comfortable. They had a breakfast, but we didn't partake, but it had a nice little spa tub that I did use. Price wasn't bad considering it was Mother's day. I would go there again.
Stayed on our way up north after travelling from SF area. Hotel is what youd expect, pretty clean and rooms spacious with two double queens etc. The night manager was very helpful checking us in etc - good value for money but the air con unit was very loud! Would stay again though to break up the trip.
I've never been to a roadside hotel this nice. We were heading off for a few nights of camping and wanted one last night in a bed; the airBnBs nearby weren't particularly cheap, so we ended up driving into here around 9pm. The man at the front desk (he seemed to run the place; he also set up breakfast the next morning) was so friendly and helpful, and breakfast the next morning was such a chatty and friendly affair. The rooms were very very clean, with windows that opened (but when the road noise was too loud and we closed them/turned the fan on, they blocked out all noise). I've been in a lot of hotels in this category, and this was just the nicest/friendliest and cleanest one I've been to. I also don't think I've ever written a review for an overnight stay but we were just so pleased we wanted to say thanks to the man running the show!
The rooms were large, clean and quiet (except for some street noise). Staff was helpful and friendly. Breakfast was basic. Right across the street from the Lumberjack restaurant that has good food for a reasonable price. Compared to other choices in Willits, this is the best by far.
I travel frequently for business and have stayed at the Willits Best Western several times a year. The rooms are always very clean, the prices are always good, and the owners/ staff are always friendly. I travel enough and see many hotels. When I'm in Mendocino, I'm always glad to know that the Best Western Willits is always going to be a good place to rest.
Disappointing for the price not good value, it was a good location room was clean and tidy but the lights kept going on and off. Staff were helpful and pleasant . Breakfast was a big disappointment for the price we paid
Friendly staff, good size rooms, adequate continental breakfast. Older building but well maintained. Asking for ground floor (2nd) eliminates stairs down to first or up to third floors. One drawback, on Willits main road. It is noisy on a Friday night.
Very clean hotel. Nice view of the mountains. Close to food options, many sightseeing opportunities nearby. Very friendly & helpful staff. I had generally stayed in Ukiah during previous visits to the area but I am planning to stay here again during my next visit to the area.
The service and cleanliness was perfect. the front desk gentleman was helpful looking up answers to questions I had. The room was clean, neat with no signs of heavy use. Internet was easy to access, TV worked as I hoped.
Nina the inn keeper is awesome. Place is very clean and nice the pool and spa is very clean at all time just like the rest of the property. Convenient shopping just across the street and a very good barkery cafe
Clean, well-maintained, and good breakfast, too! It was quiet. The internet and TV worked well. I can say only good things about this hotel! The staff was helpful. The room was well-stocked with all necessary supplies, plus plenty of extras. I would definitely stay here again.
I often stay here in my travels for meetings. The rooms are clean, quiet and comfortable. Most importantly I feel safe when staying here. There are a couple of restaurants across the street and Willits is just a great little town.
Had a great time, I always choose this hotel when I'm in town since I used to live just down the road. Everyone is very helpful and professional. Very clean, comfortable and very accessable to my needs.
Very clean, property is well maintained, friendly staff. Rooms are quite spacious and quiet, the bed was a bit firm for my taste. Pretty basic continental breakfast with a waffle maker but the coffee was surprisingly good for hotel coffee. Overall a nice, comfortable place to stay in a charming little town.
Hwy 101 now bypasses Willits so it is easy to drive by this BW Hotel - but it's worth the time to find it if you need a rest break during your travels. Watch the road signs carefully to catch the exit that gets you to Willits' Main Street. This hotel is a reliable member of the BW family with a clean, comfortable and updated room with all the amenities. While the window overlooked Main Street it was quiet during the night. We stayed on the 3rd floor but it had only 1 flight of stairs due to the sloped nature of the terrain. (No elevator), Check in and out was quick and efficient. The continental breakfast had all the usual cold offerings - no hot food except make-your-own waffles - but well-stocked even after 9 am. Eating area is small but we took our food back to our room so it wasn't a problem. There is a shopping center across the street with a restaurant for an easy walk for dinner. Willits is a cute town that may suffer from the Hwy 101 bypass but if you're tired its in a perfect spot to rest up after a long drive from the Bay Area or from the OR coast.
I have two issues with this hotel. A first floor room is one flight down from parking and reception, and nobody mentioned that or that there are no elevators. At 70, I need to know when a second floor room is easier to get to. Second, the breakfast was cold, except for toast or "Make it yourself" waffles. The bagels were hard about 1/3 of the way through (stale) and there was no protein available. Even though I find no fault with the rooms themselves (clean, well maintained, great internet and furnishings, I would not come back
Unfriendly staff, non standard payment by charging rooms in advance of stay (we did not buy pre-advance rates), noisy rooms, blankets very thin, only 1 bar of soap for shower and sink, 1/2 toilet paper roll - is this owner cost cutting? Rates are similar to other Best Western hotels we have stayed at but the quality is not the same. Additionally, a manager was soliciting compliments the next morning! Was he looking for good Trip Advisor reviews? This was the same manager who could not tell me where the bottled water was the night before and who didn't give me my Best Western rewards points (I had to call the BW main number to get them).
We have been very happy with this hotel and when in the area we will stay again. Staff was very friendly, rooms clean, location is good, close to restaurant, small shopping center, enjoyed our stay, most of all we enjoyed the staff and the concern they showed for my injured knee and age.
The rooms were great, would definitely come back for that. Quite location with a clean pool and nice jacuzzi. The service by the check-in and checkout staff could definitely be improved. Thanks to the housekeeping and breakfast staff for being polite and keeping a natural smile on their faces.
From the time we exited the freeway, the Hotel was very easy to find. The driveway is pretty steep, but flattens out in parking area. Managers were very personable. Even though Hotel was fully booked, check-in was quick and efficient. And it was much cheaper than the Best Western in Ukiah. Our rooms were clean and smelled good. There is a swimming pool at the Hotel, and it was being enjoyed by several people. The only drawback was the movement of the bed, it annoyed my wife when I rolled over. Entrance and egress were easy, traffic was light on main road. There is a restaurant (Lumberjacks) right across the street, a RiteAid Store and a small Bakery there also. Fast Food Restaurants are a short distance down the street (Walkable). There is easy access to downtown Willits and to Highway 20 to Ft. Bragg and Mendocino. This is a real gem of a Hotel. We will definitely stay there again.
Over-priced, dated, poor breakfast, rude manager/owner. We tried to call the office from the room, but the phone didn't work. Went to office to report it, were told someone would come check it. Nope, never showed. .This hotel should not be part of Best Western.
We were a group of 22 adults traveling with our car club. The hotel staff were great to work with from the first call. The rooms were clean and comfy. The location was easy but the hill was wee bit challenging for our low cars. Breakfast was okay but not great. The flow of the dining room a little confusing.
We were pleased with the cleanliness, quality, and cost of this stay. The hotel is located across the street from a quiet shopping center that has food and other necessities. The breakfast was decent, and the rooms were clean. No complaints, we would definitely go back again.
Friendly staff, reasonable priced. didn't get to use the complimentary breakfast. Room was large and nicely kept.. i would stay here again. there is a eating place right across the street with good food. There is a large hill to drive up to get to the check in area.
VERY helpful staff helped with noisy air conditioner IMMEDIATELY and with a lost purse. Good restaurant recommendations. Management and front desk we're very helpful and friendly. Quiet room. I highly recommend this facility
Willits was a great location for our plans. The room was clean and comfortable. The area was quiet and although we did not use the pool, it was tempting. We just did not have time due to all the great sites we wanted to see in the area.
Room was clean. Linens and toiletries were good quality and sufficient supply. Comfortable bed. Convenient location off HWY 101 but far enough that you don't hear it. Separate building for people with and without pets (I'm allergic to dander so this was great) Ample parking spaces
Two nights, Thursday, July 27 and Friday, July 28, 2017 Arrived Thursday after drive from Grants Pass, OR. Odd little place, set into the side of a hill almost like an erzatz Hopi cliff dwelling in AZ. Pleasant folks at check in desk and front dest. Helped with one problem (more later). Odd design, made to fit into side of hill. 100 level rooms are down stairs one flight from parking lot. 200 level rooms are at parking lot level, 300 level rooms are up one floor from parking lot. 200 and 300 level rooms face parking lot and are relatively quiet. 100 level rooms face the main drag through town and are very noisy. Lucky me, I had a 100 level room. This is inland 50 miles from the coast, though on US 101, in late July, this is a HOT town. I think the 100 level rooms are cooler than the 200 and 300, but they are filled with traffic noise. NO elevators! Its a long and steep flight of stairs down to the 100 level, or up to the 300 level. If you have mobility issues, or stair issues, you DO NOT want to be up or down. ThHe "free continental breakfast" is sparse. More sparse than other Best Western's where I've stayed. Had one serious room issue. The phone in the room didn't work. Walked up to the office to report that as I wanted to set up a wakeup call. Couldn't do that by phone. Re[orted that Thursday night. They got it fixed sometime Friday. Broken jack or soccket in wall, or broken cord / line from wall to phone. A safety issue. Room phones ought to work, and housekeeping folks, when they clean and sanitize the phone handsets each day ought to check that there is a dial tone. Unless, of course, they don't clean and sanitize the phone handsets.... Close to major attraction in town, the Skunk Train. Good restaurant across street.
We had a wonderful stay at this hotel! The rooms were very clean and up to date! The exterior of the hotel was nice! This was one of the nicest BW hotels we've stayed at! We also enjoyed the pool! The breakfast was also very good!
This was a very friendly family run Best Western the price and the room was very good and the staff was friendly. I do recommended it. It is off of the main road but it is quiet. Close by there are good restaurants and shopping mall.
Front desk clerk was friendly, informative, answered all questions. We loved having a parking place right in front of our room. Room was clean with enough towels, tv and lights worked and we had a mountain view from our window. Lumberjacks across the street had a good breakfast.
A perfect place to get away for the night or two. Quiet and relaxing. Thank you for a wonderful stay! The room are a nice size, great water pressure and comfortable pillows. The A/C is a little loud, but we had a nice view of the mountains.
This is a very nice little motel with very friendly staff. In a good location also. The pool is a good size and the rooms were very clean and didnt smell real strong. The breakfast did have eggs and waffles with some cereals as well. It isnt as cheap as some but is worth the over all price.
When we arrived the young guy checked us in he was very pleasant and helpful. Later when we wanted to go swimming had to get towels for the pool and the older guy, who was the one in the morning, seemed bothered to get us the towels. In the morning no eggs, bacon nothing but stale pastries and bad tasting orange juice.
The manager who checked us in very early and had no problem helping us with our stay. Very welcoming and helpful. When it came to breakfast, the items never ran short and they were picture perfect in there arrangement. Quick to help people who had problems with their upcoming reservations as was able to resolve them. Great Job.
The hotel is nice and clean, located fairly close to restaurants. There is a pool, however, we didn't use it. Air conditioning worked quickly and was adjustable enough to keep it on all night and to keep the room comfortable (it was 98 degrees in Willits when we arrived after 4 in the afternoon) without having to get up during the night to adjust the AC, which often happens in hotel rooms.
I really have few complaints. It is a Best Western, fairly new, and very clean. Parking can be an issue if you get there late in the evening. Centrally located. Nice breakfast place across the street.
Very friendly staff. Makes you feel like you at home. Always smiling and very helpful. They are willing to go the extra Mile to help you. The rooms were very clean. My wife checks on the bathrooms first and it was very very clean.
Great hotel with friendly staff and quality continental breakfast. Room was quiet, clean and comfortable. We will definitely stay here again when we are in the area. Great american diner right across the street makes getting a filling and quality meal extremely convenient.
It's the best looking hotel in town and well worth the couple bucks more to stay here. Really great continental breakfast set up with fresh waffles, yogurts, fresh fruit, etc. Very clean rooms with great amenities. The pool and hot tub is very clean and well kept. I'm now sold on the Best Western brand.
I was very impressed with this hotel. Very clean and updated. I would definitely recommend staying here if you're in the area. I have stayed at other hotels in the area and they do not compare. Overall excellent.
We stayed in Willits at the Best Western. The hotel is convenient, clean, and comfortable. We were greeted by the owner/manager who welcomed us to town and offered information regarding places to eat, since it was late when we arrived. Our request was adhered to relative to a first floor room since we were on a motorcycle and wanted to park our bike in front of our room. The amenities were nice including the refrigerator and microwave.
We stopped late on a trip to Washington and were met by a very nice clerk. Our room was spotless and the beds were extremely comfortable. Our car packed with camping gear was safe in the parking lot. Fresh fruit at breakfast was nice. Definitely stopping there if by there again
This is a good place to stay with a restaurant across the street for the traveler passing through town, or there to ride the train. The downstair rooms face the road and thus have traffic noise. Breakfast was meager in comparison to other BWs.
Rooms were clean and beds were very comfortable. The staff accommodated our late check-in with a smile and was very patient when I had to ring the bell again because I thought I lost my key. The lobby is very clean and updated. The rooms are what I expect from the BW brand. The hotel sits on the main road but the rooms are very quiet. We would stay here again. Willits is a much nicer town now that the freeway has by past it by. So stay here and help support the local business. This is not a fancy hotel just but very clean with a reasonable rate. The pool would be nice on a hot summer day!!!
Front desk was unfriendly and rude. Felt more like a miserable mom and pops joint then a corporate establishment. I hope they treat their maids well- They're the only friendly people on property. We were in town for a wedding and had limited options for the area. It's a long ways from any major airport so we were tired and requested an early check in upon arrival. They refused and had us pay an extra night. Quality was not worth almost $200 a night. I've stayed at better B&B.
Extremely friendly staff, nice rooms and convenient location make this hotel the best lodging option in Willits. The staff was extremely accommodating during my stay and went out of their way to make sure everything was just right. The room looked fresh with new furnishings and was very quiet. The location was on the southern end of town just of Hwy. 101 which kept it out of the bustle of downtown but close enough to make it very convenient.
This place provides a very clean and comfortable place for the price. We enjoyed the stay and will be staying there again when we return. It is at the southern end of the city. The staff is very friendly and helpful.
Hotel was clean. Bed was comfortable. Breakfast was ok, nothing to brag about. You will get your work out walking up and down the very steep driveway. There's a lot of stores within walking distance..
Best place to stay in Willits, I know by experience. Staff is great, feels like family. They remember you and ask about you. Room is great. Good size, with tv fridge and microwave. Water in shower heats quickly and lasts. Plenty of places to hang towels and clothing. Place is very quiet even if you are close to the vending area. Only bad thing is sometimes internet wifi not so great.
We were travelling to Fort Bragg with the road closer Leggett we proceeded south along Hwy 101 to the next junction to Fort Bragg at Willits. We trusted the BW brand of accommodation from our previous experiences. There it was when we traveled through town conveniently situated across fro a shopping plaza and restaurant. How good was that. Also we noted the price of gas was good so if you need a fill-up don't wait. The staff a the BW were extremely nice and professional. If you are tired driving stop here it is well worth it.
This motel is extremely clean, the staff and owners are very friendly and the accommodations are comfortable and nicely appointed. Breakfast selections were of the cold type with a great waffle machine where you had the option of making a small serving or larger serving and the coffee was great, not too strong and not watered down!
Very nice hotel in Willis, California. The pricing was a little high especially without a full breakfast. But the room was large and comfortable. So large it could have used a second chair. The pool area was nice .
There is not much to chose from in the town, but this one is OK. Friendly hosts and good old hospitality. Dated rooms, but clean and tidy. Breaky is nothing flash, but good for continental. It was quiet at night and we were well rested for our activities planned.
If your traveling the 101 hwy as we do twice a yr this is a good stop to spend he nite from the Oregon border to the bay area....Really good place to eat across the st called Lumberjacks....Hotel is decent , not as fancy as some other BW's, but clean and convenient . Nice staff.
Great place to stay in Willits. If you need handicap access room, plan well ahead. Be sure to try Adam's Restaurant just 5 minutes north on Main street. Driveway is quite steep, not good when towing a boat.
If you are passing through the area this is a decent place to stay at a reasonable price. My room faced the highway so there was a bit of road noise but not too bad. Requesting an interior room should avoid that problem. The staff seemed to be very friendly and helpful but the rooms were a bit dated. Also, there was a large stain on the one chair in the room.
Loved the professionalism, the rooms are spacey and very clean. Feels like home. This is my favorite best western so far. Also the price is alway great! I honestly love everything about it. Would definitely recommend it all the time
The manager and his wife were very friendly making us feel welcome. The room was very clean, the bathroom spotless and the staff courteous. One minor issue was road noise which disappeared later in the evening. Also a lack of elevators which is to be expected in this type of hotel. The lobby was well stocked for continental style breakfast in the mornings. All in all a most enjoyable stay.
I have been working at a long term project in Willits Ca. and have always stayed at The Best Western Willits. Nick and Nina, the management staff is always so very helpful with my every need. The hotel is very clean thanks to the diligence of the management team and the hard work of the friendly staff.
We are traveling with no set itinerary and got a good price on this room over the phone late in the day. It's been a long time since I stayed at Best Western and my remembrance was not very complimentary but this Inn changed my thinking. The rooms were very updated, clean and the beds are excellent! We had a very good nights sleep here. Downside is the traffic on the highway was a little noisy but I checked the window and it was slightly open, closing it made a huge difference and later in the evening traffic died down and was not an issue. The breakfast is very minimal with cereal, yogurt, toast and some bananas and apples. Not much to get excited about. We found a bakery in the shopping center across the street and it was excellent. I have since stayed in another Best Western on this trip and I'm a fan. Something has changed at BW, so much so I'll seek them out.
Very friendly people, nice, clean room, comfortable bed. Decent restaurant right across the street, Lumberjacks, definitely recommend. They gave us a handicapped room, there is no elevator, so that was nice. Breakfast was a little better than standard, with multiple toppings (granola, nuts, Oreos) available. Cranberry juice available. No brewed decaf available. Clean.
This is the best place to stay if you need to go to Laytonville. The motel has quiet a few rooms. The furniture is a bit dated but functional. There was a larger TV and fridge as well as a microwave. The bed was fine. There is a pool next to the office and they have a continental breakfast. The front of the rooms have no windows facing the parking lot but it can be noisy because the windows face hwy 101. There are nice local shopping, places to eat and interesting things to do.
Disappointed by services in lobby. upon checking asked what there was to do in Willits, "not much,"was the answer. asked about a place for dinner, was pointed to the lumberjack across the street. while willits is indeed a small town. we did find some good pizza a local pointed out to us. the room itself was clean, stains on the carpet and bed spread. pillows felt like they were full of rocks and the mattress was low to the ground, with a dip in the middle. needs to be replaced. breakfast, standard, nothing spectacular 630-930 & it's closed up at 930 sharp. tried to get a cup of coffee before departure at 931, lights out, chain up. my husband tried out the hot tub and immediately got out and went to shower. he said it was not very clean. the housekeepers do a great job. the gentleman at the front desk should consider having a more friendly attitude and offer more suggestions to guests. towels were sparse and thin. shampoo/Conditioner was horrible. the only time I forgot my own and was so sorry I did. TV was small, not HD for sure. WiFi was awful.
This was such a nice experience! Perfect location, lovely and very comfortable room. And real drinking glasses - not plastic. Top service. The lightbulb in the bathroom did not function properly and was fixed immediately as was replacement of iron. We felt very welcome and this is the most personal Best Western hotel we have stayed at. And we know a lot.
We stayed 2 nights at the Best Western in Willits & it was everything you would hope for from a chain motel. The room was large & clean, the reception staff were very welcoming & pleasant & the breakfast was much better than it appears at first. There were 2 problems, firstly, rooms on the front can suffer from road noise on the 101 outside & secondly, the breakfast area is way too small for the number of rooms. Nothing to stop me staying there again if I am ever around Willits again though.
This place tries and our experience was OK. The wifi was the worse we experienced on our long trip. All of us had trouble getting on it and staying connected. There are decent upgrades, but rushed renovations. Some quick drywall patch work, carpet over the entry tile that is lower than the rest of the carpet causing some near trips. The light above the mirror was very bright and hard to work, in addition it is poorly positioned and more than once woke up others. The breakfast was the most basic that we experienced on our trip, however this has to do with limited space in the separate office area. Beds were a little soft for my preference. Overall, it was an average stay that worked out well on our trip and the management team was friendly and engaging. Overall, an average stay.
The owners Nic and Nina are fantastic. I have stayed at their hotel numerous times for work and they are always concerned with making your stay as comfortable as possible. I would recommend staying here to other family and friends passing through the area.
I would recommend this property to my friends and family. Nice clean rooms at reasonable rates. Located right off of Highway 101. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. If I wanted something more than the standard breakfast bar, there is a restaurant right across the street.
After my motorcycle accident in Willits, CA the owners/managers of this Best Western Willits Inn, Nick and his wife provided exceptional service and help enabling us to resolve transport back home for the disabled bike. Offering physical and moral support for which I cannot thank them enough. Especially on the Saturday of Labor Day weekend. Thank you. If your travels take you to this area, I highly recommend Best Western Willits Inn.
The pool and hot tub are in the parking lot. The hot tub was so small and cold. The room was fine. But it had a faint odor but aired out quickly. It is not worth the price. I recommend that you keep driving to the next town.
Staff is friendly and fast for check in and out. Room was quiet and fair sized. No elevators for upper floors. Exterior corridor doors. Comfortable, basic and secure. Property is well maintained. Pool on property.
Wife and I have stayed at this hotel twice now while traveling. The hotel staff and management have been kind, helpful, personable, and warm. They helped us with supplying motorcycle washing products and were also helpful in our use of their laundry facilities. Rooms are nice, clean, and comfortable. You will not be sorry you stayed at this hotel!
When I work in the Willits area I always stay at the Best Western Willits Inn. It is consistent in cleanliness, great service and has a friendly and helpful staff. It is also close to restaurants and grocery stores. This is a great value.
Great, friendly service! We arrived late at night and the owners were there to help us. Even made sure that we had a good parking spot. In the morning, the breakfast was good. Service was with a smile at all times. Our stay here was very nice.
We stayed here one night prior to going on the Skunk train. It is clean and quiet and comfortable. Even though it is on hwy 101 with the window closed it was very quiet. The breakfast selection is not what we usually find at at BW. They had waffles, toast choices, yogurt, cereal and fruit, no eggs, sausage, bacon any hot items except waffles. Still I would stay there again should the need arise. We prefer a softer bed, and this one was super hard, but that is just a personal preference.
Stayed only one night. Came for a wedding in Willits. Comfortable room and friendly front desk. Breakfast was fine. Nice small town. Early check in allowed. Stores in walking distance. Down the street, neat antique type stores.
in our travels around the country we seek out best western properties because they are predictably great. you know what to expect and you are rarely disappointed. the Best Western Willits Inn is no exception. clean, comfortable bed/pillows, great service, great value, friendly staff, very good continental breakfast. we've been through willits countless times to/from sf bay area to southern oregon. we've just recently begun breaking the trip into 2 days of travel. we will definitely be stopping again at the BW in willits!
We stayed here so that we had a very short drive to the skunk train in the morning. The room was good but very noisy as it is facing the Main Street which is basically Hwy 101. Wish the room was quieter. I should have asked for a different room facing away from the hwy. I did not ask as I checked in late and it was just for one night.
Nice place , convenient and clean. This hotel has a very steep driveway which might be scary for some but we managed it fine. The room was clean and we felt safe. I'd recommend this hotel if you are in Willits.
Hotel was clean, bed was comfortable and property was relatively quiet. Out side noise level will improve in the next few months when the highway bypass is completed around Willits. Staff was friendly and efficient in handling check in and check out. Usually stay at BW hotels, and find them consistently good.
We nearly always stay at a Best Western for their incredible service and super comfortable rooms. We called ahead to ensure that there would be a place to park our RV. We were told there was street parking. On arrival, we found that we actually had to park on the very uneven shoulder of Hwy. 101 (if the semis haven't taken up all of the space) and then HIKE up a ridiculously steep driveway. Given that my sister is 7 months pregnant, this was NOT ideal. If you drive an RV here and have difficulty walking or are handicapped, there is no way you could access the hotel from the 'RV parking"!! The staff was not very welcoming, simply asking for my card and handing me a key. The same lack of warmth was met upon checkout. We asked the front desk about public transportation down to the older part of the main street, and were told there isn't any in town. Come to find out, there is! While the room was comfortable, the automatic light sensor went off whenever you got up at night, waking everyone. We were greatly disappointed with this stay, and will not be staying there again.
If you are passing thru - This hotel is clean, and the price is right! The female owner is a little cranky, but otherwise everything else was fine! Conveniently located right off the freeway. Enjoy your stay !
Traveling from LA to Redwoods, we chose this town as a stopover before heading through the Avenue of the Giants. The beds were really comfy and we slept particularly well. The motel was very typical for the chain, clean and secure. Although it is on main thoroughfare, we didn't catch any street noise.
Very clean room and a comfy bed. BIG upstairs king-bedroom [307]. No elevator, so stairs help keep one in shape! Fridge/freezer, TV, microwave...the usual stuff. Couldn't find a guide for the TV channels which is a little annoying. Large counter with sink in main room. Tub/shower and low, round-toilet [not my favorite!] in bathroom. WIFI and A/C worked great and there is an outside pool. Since there is limited space in the breakfast area, there is no scrambled eggs or bacon or sausage; however, there is plenty of the usual other stuff and waffles. Same owners for 15 years...nice people.
This place is very nice and clean. They have a pool and small hot tub but all maintained well. Wifi is pretty weak, but the coffee for breakfast was strong and good. No frills convenient. Out bathroom light didn't work guy came right up and fixed it.
It was a very hot day in July when we arrived after a long drive. The room was cool and comfortable. The pool was perfect. Nothing could be better. The service was spot on and the hotel is not too far from the center of town. I would stay there again.
We stayed in Willits to take the Skunk Train. We have been happy with the Best Western chain which is usually very good to excellent. This motel was convenient located just off Hwy 101. I had reserved an accessible or no steps to room--both on line and by phone. When we arrived, we were assigned to a room with 2 small flights of stairs. I called the front desk and they did then reassign us to a ground floor unit. The breakfast in the morning was good: hot items (waffles, oats) and protein (eggs) as well as beverages, toast, muffins, bagels, yogurt. The breakfast area staff was friendly, helpful and kept the area well stocked. It was a small area and busy. On the plus side, we did move our reservation forward by one day (2 days in advance) and they accommodated this request without additional charge.
Nice hotel. We got the lowest level floor facing the highway. We had requested a Top Level Floor facing the hillside away from the highway at least 3 months before our arrival. The check-in staff said that the manager told him not to change anybody's room. We spoke to the Host at check-out who said that all the rooms were somewhat affected by the highway. She did not read our reservation sheet that I provided that showed I had requested a Top Floor room facing the hillside away from the highway. She was courteous but said that the sheet did not state we requested a Top Floor room when it was clearly written on the sheet. I got back home and saw that I did indeed state "TOP FLOOR". Raw deal!
I've stayed at this inn several times now. The people who run it are very nice and helpful. The room is clean, plenty of towels, has a small refrigerator, microwave, coffee pot and soap/shampoo amenities. They offer free wi-fi and have a complimentary breakfast. I couldn't hear any other visitors. If you open the windows you will get traffic noise, otherwise keep windows closed and the A/C works real well. This Best Western is located right at the entrance of Willits town.
We stay here because it is on the route to pick up the kids from camp. Hwy 101 becomes Main St. in Willits and most of the hotels are right on it so they all suffer from road noise (the speed limit is so low that I hesitate to call it "freeway noise" as some other reviews have). We skipped the breakfast because there are plenty of charming cafes nearby and we also wanted to sleep in. Room was clean, there were plenty of towels, and the kids enjoyed the pool and hot tub. There are 3 floors and no elevator, so if you have trouble with stairs, be sure to request a room on the 200 floor, which is at parking lot level. Check in was easy and fast and I had no trouble parking. We were very happy to find a refrigerator and microwave in the room.
We have used this hotel on the way from San Francisco to Eureka for over night rest. We did not expect much, but the hotel is really fine for this purpose. Located directly next to road 101 is conveniently accessible ( but also a little bit noisy ). WiFi works and breakfast is quite ok. Rooms are acceptably clean.
Worst hotel on our vacation! No Parking, noise from hwy, poor breakfast, small area to try to eat! No Elevator, Front desk person both night & morning had to ring bell to get them to respond! We parked at the only spot we could get at the other end of hotel & had to make 2 trips back to get our things! then climb steps to 2nd floor! We made reservation s for 1st floor as we are disabled! We stayed @ 9 hotels on our vacation this one was the worst! by far! Also the value was terrible here at this location!
This is quite a basic hotel by Best Western standards. The traffic noise is a real issue. However it is right on the 101 so is convenient if like us you are travelling north. Plenty of parking, and there are places to eat nearby. Room was clean enough.
We were pleased to feel comfortable for our overnight stay and the early breakfast to continue our trip home- it was definitely nice that we were lucky to find such happy people to deal with. The questions that we asked were simple but the clerk went out of his way to give us more than enough informaiton
Our room at the Best Western Willits Inn was very clean and the bed was comfortable. It's hard to find a good bed these days. The staff here goes out of their way to make sure you feel right at home! You won't regret it if you choose this hotel!!
Much improvement is required. Great reception, but the room was not entirely clean. Traffic a bit noisy since the hotel is right next to Highway 101 The front desk was very friendly and receptive. Hope to go back for a better experience.
I needed to go to Laytonville from Ft Bragg and had to spend the night but I hadn't had I chose the any luck in Laytonville with a good place to stay so I decided to stay in Willits instead. I went to the Best Western which was okay. The area where my room was had no windows facing the parking lot, instead they faced busy 101 so it was a bit nosy. The room was clean and comfortable. Everything was just okay.
Usually reserve a hotel when Im working out of town but this time I didnt, almost stayed at Super 8 because of prices, stropped in Best Western cause it was close, to my surprise they discounted my room. For this reason I will be a return customer, not to mention the clean room, it was spottless. The Wifi was really fast, I love to watch Netflix when I travel, usually I cant because the Wifi is crappy. This was the most refreshing stay in a Hotel in a very long time, Did I mention how CLEAN the room was!!!
I have stayed at other Willits hotels and this is, by far, the best choice. The rooms are clean and quiet and the management is extremely helpful. The continental breakfast is pretty extensive and begins at 6:30am (as opposed to 7am at other hotels) so I can grab something before heading off to work in the morning.
We needed a mid-way stop between California's central coast and southern Oregon, and this turned out to be a jem. The staff was very helpful when we knew we wouldn't arrive before the lobby closed, to the point of heating our room on a cold late evening. We will stay here again.
My husband and I rented a room as did my brother. We were welcomed by Nick the owner and he was kind enough to put the Warriors playoff game on in the lobby while we were waiting for our rooms to be cleaned. (We arrived early) The rooms were spotlessly clean and spacious. We all slept like babies the one night of our stay at this Best Western. There is a very nice pool area as well. I highly recommend it if you plan to visit Willits.
Best Hotel in Willits for the value received. The rooms are clean, comfortable and have the latest amenities. The staff are friendly and provide excellent service. Although next to 101, noise is not noticeable.
This hotel is at the south end of town sitting on a hillside. It is very nice looking and is a quiet location. Very helpful and friendly staff. A variety of breakfast items to get you going for the day. Room was nicely decorated with prints and crown molding. I would not hesitate to stay there if you're traveling up or down the coast.
The only good thing I have to say about this place was the stray cat that befriended me. He was super nice, and really hungry. Besides that, I checked in and was charged $137.50 for one night. I said I have a Best Western account, AAA, AARP, and was told I was given the best discount. I just looked up the normal price of the room, and it's $121 plus taxes. AAA price is $110. You tell me if I got the best price! Plus, the heat was set to extreme, so the room was way too hot for us to stay in it till it aired out, and when it came time for breakfast in the morning, I went to grab an apple and my fingers almost went through the skin it was that soft! Since then, I've never stayed at a Best Western, and probably never will, even though I have a $25 gift card through them...
Friendly Hotel staff. Very clean rooms and facilities. I have not found any other Hotels in this surrounding area that has the pride of operations as this Hotel. A pleasure to visit. I would recommend to a friend.
My partner, 7 months pregnant, was denied a room in the middle of a rainy winter night. She had lost her credit card so I tried to book the room online for her in this emergency. They only accept cards in person; I appreciate the security but they sent her away in the pouring rain at midnight. Terrible. I stayed there one other time this winter. The room was FREEZING and the heater didn't work. The man was a real jerk and said it wasn't that cold - turns out that the window behind the curtain was wide open on a 20 degree night. And he totally blew us off. Terrible
Nick and Nina at the Best Western in Willits were very accommodating. Room was clean with easy access to our vehicle. Good to have a refrigerator and microwave. Nice breakfast. Would stay there again.
The hotel is well maintained and attractive. We left behind some items. When we called back the person responded positively. The next day we received a call that the items had been mailed back. Great service!
Driving back from Crescent City to Kelseyville. Got dark and misty so I could not see the road well. Guess I should have asked for a non smoking room cause the smell was not nice. The bath was great for soaking and the beds were comfortable. Some smoke detector alarm chirping went off at 1:30...not nice. It was an education.
I needed to stop in Willits overnight, driving from the Bay Area because it was dark and rainy, so I chose Best Western, you can usually count on them for a clean room. My room had a super sweet odor as if fragrance had been sprayed on the carpet to overwhelm another odor, like a dirty carpet. I didn't want to walk on the floor.
Nice moderate motel (2 story) We had 2 rooms and both were nice and clean, on the lower level. We went to a local resturant to get dinner, arrived when it was dark and misting. December weather. Comfortable beds and pillows. Free continental breakfast.
If you're timing it to stop driving for the night from the Bay Area, this Best Western at the south end of Willits is your oasis. We were impressed with the warm, large room on a very frigid night - clean, appealing decor, king-sized bed, and ample space to play cards at a large table! The usual flat screen, microwave, mini fridge and bathroom amenities, of course...all at a reasonable price. Recommendations for restaurants and other services were provided in our room. (We were thrilled with the Sicilian restaurant just down the street.) The morning breakfast area next to the lobby was quiet and clean - it included hard-boiled eggs, waffles, cereals, rolls, raisin bread, fruit, and assorted coffees, juices, and milk. Lastly, the friendly front desk crew supported us throughout our stay - the owner took the time to research my Best Western Awards number and gave me a temporary card. And, my husband was impressed that the owner took the time to refill his coffee cup. Quite a pleasant respite.
The room was warm and inviting. The owners were equally warm and inviting. We stayed the night because it had gotten late, and we were concerned about weather conditions - a good choice, as the roads were icy further north. A delightful last night of a long holiday trip. We will stay again. Continental breakfast is OK (the normal Best Western). A better choice might be the "Lumberjacks" restaurant directly across the street, though.
The husband and wife team go out of their way to be sure customers have everything they need and are comfortable. I have stayed in this hotel often over the last six months for business and every stay has been very pleasant.
I am finding that Best Western in the last year is out of the price range for my busines budget in general so I stay at other property's I the property I had staid at the night b4 was a Hampton inn in Reno NV it was very very nice at a lower price point than the Best Western in the area. The Best Western in Willits was clean, nice & fit my business budget.
This vacation trip on the Pacific Coast Hwy, we enjoyed spending the night at Best Western Willits, Willits, California. The night and day staff were very professional, courteous, a pleasure to deal with. In no way were we disappointed.
Have stayed here several time in the past and will stay again when traveling thru this area. The rooms are very clean and quiet. We were on the outside facing the street which was very noisy outside, but we couldn't hear any traffic noise inside the room. Staff very friendly and helpful.
This hotel room was large, clean and comfortable. The staff was excellent. The breakfast was tasty and filling. The staff even helped refill coffee for the diners! We had a restful night and after breakfast we were ready to continue our travels!
I had sprained my ankle so was on crutches. The owners/managers were very solicitous and helpful each morning that I went in for breakfast. They helped me get and carry everything I needed. It helped a lot. The bed and pillows were comfortable.
It was a very good experience, that was pre-selected for us by management. It was the first time that a hotel management went out of their way for us to make our stay special. We our a Platinum card holer for BW, anf they made sure we were treated as such, and we appreciated that.
Our stay in this hotel was very acceptable. The room was very nice and the service was very good. There were good restaurants within walking distance and the food was very good.We will definitely consider in one of these hotels again in the future.
Got there very late and found the owner had waited up for us and the place was full--got the last parking space. It's an older motel, with easy room access and basic comforts intact. Good for one night while traveling the 101. No problems.
We were evacuated from our homes due to the Valley Fire in Lake County. This motel was very accommodating and did not try to gouge us like many motels in area were doing. Very clean and internet service was excellent.
Clean room, had the amenities I needed. I loved that the fridge actually had some room in it! Internet was fast, although it was a little disconcerting to be reminded often that it is an open network and thus security online cannot be guaranteed. To some people that could be very scary.
We stayed in Willits for one night to take the Skunk train and chose the Best Western based on tripadvisor reviews. We were on the second floor, which was the same level as the office and parking lot. You have to take the stairs down to get to the first level. As other reviewers have noted, the driveway up from the main road is very steep, which was good exercise for us after having lunch at the Lumberjack restaurant across the street. The room was very comfortable with two queen beds and a large bathroom. The owners/managers were friendly and professional and were helpful in finding different locations in town. We did not try the continental breakfast since we liked the Lumberjack and went back for breakfast. If we are ever back in Willits, we would stay here again.
