Hotel was close to family for milestone birthday celebration. Friendly and helpful front desk staff. Hotel room was clean and beds were comfortable. Many options for continental breakfast, food was good, plentiful and fresh. Great coffee maker and loved having a cappuccino (or two😆) each morning!
The check-in process was literally the most offensive, low-quality process I'd ever seen. I arrived at 3:15, and the rooms weren't ready, despite check-in being at 3:00. They gave me access to the wrong room, 309, which wasn't ready. I was changing, and the housekeeping staff opened the door on me while I was in my underwear. This was an egregious violation. Ely, the housekeeping supervisor, kept making excuses. Mohammed, the staff supervisor, took ZERO accountability and kept making excuses. Furthermore, this debacle caused me to miss a shuttle to a wedding, incurring additional personal costs to Uber. Process failure after process failure, leadership failure after leadership failure. The only competent person on staff was the GM, who, the next day, apologized profusely and knocked 25% off my stay, which made me whole on the Uber, but did not make up for the stress and violation of my privacy.
Had my daughter's wedding party there she rented the bridal suite for 2 nights. When she showed up they said only one room was available. They were extremely unorganized and unprofessional. They were supposed to cancel a reservation under my name and did not do as requested and charged my credit card with any warning. Manager was very rude
The only good things I can say about the hotel is the location, otherwise, it's just far below my expectations, it's not cheap (but maybe because I booked it just a couple of weeks before my journey), but the service and cleanliness is just “beyond anyone's imagination”. The Wifi was out the night I checked in, I called the frontdesk and asked if the Wifi wasn't working, first they hanged up! I had to call second time. And it took them one whole night to fix it while the staff promised me that they would fix it in 30 minutes (but of course we all know how technical problems work, sometimes it's just like that, I understand), I tried after one hour, it's still not working, so I just went to bed, hoping everything will be fine the next day. The problem is when I asked about the internet connection the next morning, the staff was very unhelpful, and appeared annoyed. If you ask no questions or are happy with unfriendly responses, maybe you will feel okay staying here. Besides, the cleanliness was also terrible, the floor was so sticky and it felt like I stepped on paper with glue on. But maybe it's just my room, it was not the main point, just that staff here were not friendly at all. Oh, god, if you would like to pay and suffer, I highly recommend this hotel!! It is a perfect choice for you!
Overpriced for a typical, as expected, hotel stay. Consequently you will most likely be able to get a room when all other hotels are full. My room was near the highway which was loud and disturbing. Request a room on the south side to avoid this.
Perfect! I give A+ to the charming and kindness people at the front desk specialy 3 employees the morning 🌞 breakfast was delicious and the bed was very confortable. We had a good time at the pool. The room was really clean. My family and me keep wonderful memories.
Hotel is clean and updated. Great breakfast. Lots of parking and easy access from highway. Did not hear any noise from the highway. The Keg restaurant is in walking distance. The front staff were friendly knowledgeable about the area. Would not hesitate to stay again.
They claim they will service your room. They will not. This hotel put another privacy hanger on our room door and claimed that is why. They lied
This hotel is very clean and appears to be taken care of. One of 3 properties that seem to care. Neighbouring businesses seem abandoned, and the neighbouring hotel(Holiday Inn express) also has an abandoned feel.
Good service and the room was clean. Good place to stay for single or family occupancy. I would recommend this hotel to others. Receptionists were very helpful, including duty manager. Breakfast was okay, cannot complain. But the room and the bathroom were clean.
Excellent facility with amazing service and great breakfast! Best fitness centre, warm pool, loved the sauna! Very clean. Good coffee! Ticks all the boxes!
Pretty good hotel, I will admit the price is a tad steeper than I was expecting, but it was completely booked so maybe that's just me. The property looks newly updated, all the rooms are refreshed and the showers have good pressure. The breakfast was good in the morning, however ending at 930 seems a bit early; in use to them ending around 10. Bonus points that they have an ev charger in the back (1) if you need it.
Good hotel, front staff very helpful. Room was very clean, although charging ports next to bed did not work. Hotel was fairly quiet given that there were several teams staying there. Breakfast was ok, although could be better. We stayed there for the Olympic Trials being held at TPASC. Would stay again.
I was in this hotel for work, paid for out of my own pocket. Its location was very convenient as the work facility is nearby. I thought it was a decent stay. Checked out, no issues. Hours go by and I get a phone call in a meeting for work, however they left no message, so after work i went back to the hotel as they wouldnt answer their phone. When i got back i parked in front of the doors and went inside to the front desk ( I thought at this point maybe i forgot something in the room) so i give them my name and the room number i was in, and they said i stole... a pillow. I told them i had only one bag and no way to take a pillow. I asked them to check cameras, as when i checked out i had my bag with me AND ate breakfast beside front desk. They told me i have no way to prove my innocense and that i have to pay the $30 as they refuse to check cameras. I stormed out upset and regained my composure. I went back inside with my one bag and emptied it on the front desk (underwear and all) and showed them i had no pillow, neither room for a pillow. Still it wasnt good enough, so i asked them to search my vehicle to which they said they will not. I travelled 4 hours to stay at this place ans I promise i will never stay here again. They stole from me and accused me of stealing something and have NO way to prove i didnt. They gave me the cleaning ladies phone number and she wont answer her phone either. This place is a joke.
The woman I dealt with at the front desk when I checked in and out was so kind! The hotel itself isn't very big, but it was very nice. The breakfast was great and their coffee machine was so cool!
Average hotel accommodation for a budget friendly hotel. Staff were friendly and professional. The hotel itself is tired, rooms are dark and dingy. Windows do not open, only source of fresh ventilation was running A/C constantly. Couch in our room had number of large stains and in desperate need of a deep steam. Bed was comfortable and clean linens. My friends car was stolen from the parking lot. There is no night security for the parking lot, front desk staff said there have been cars stolen regularly out of the parking lot. No mention at check-in. Hotel is in seedy area and obviously targeted by organized crime.
The room was very clean and up to date. The front desk was very helpful. Breakfast was excellent so many options!
My car glass has been broken and took some important documents and things from my car. I have parked within hotels parking lot and staffs where not helpful after this incident. Its not even seems like safe to stay here for life too. They were not even shown the cctv footage for the incident and also I believe they didn't checked yet. I have informed police about the incident. I believe staffs also have role in this incident.
Very kind staff an clean rooms. Loved the breakfast. My kids loved the pool. They had so much fun. An we were very happy with all that we got in our room to use microwave TV. Wifi. Parking was the best. Loved the area right near my home where I was born. Would love to stay at the B.W anytime when our family comes back.
I would not recommend this hotel at all. The room we received had stains all over the couch in the room, and the provided desk chair, as well as an odor of body fluids. We also had no desk lamp as it would not turn on. We asked to have a new bulb/ or lamp and were told no that they don't do that. That might have been for the best considering what we could see was dirty. When we went down for breakfast in the morning the eggs had hard spots in the and tasted like they sat out already once and then re-heated and put out again. The second afternoon that we were there someone vomited in the elevator, with a wet floor gin covering it. The sign did not help the smell of the vomit, and was left like that until the following afternoon went it was then mopped all over the elevator. Like come on people do better !! When any issues were brought to the front desk for attention they simply replied no no sorry..... But they didn't do anything or care ! Oh and one more thing, my nephew bought a soup thing at the concession area and then asked for a spoon and was told no they don't have utensils for those items.... Then don't sell them !
Always liked bestwestern and this one is very close to the hiway and in a quiet area. Bw always pleases. Been with them for many years. Their rates are very good at this location too. Will definitely be staying here again. Thankyou!!!
the room was clean. bathroom was clean. the bed was so comfortable, we could've stayed there for more than one night. we enjoyed our stay and will most likely be going back to the same location. very happy with our stay there. breakfast had a good variety of options
My stay at this hotel was TERRYIFYING! Long story short- a man entered my room through the adjoining door at 2:00AM. The adjoining door in my room was misaligned and didn't lock properly, despite me checking the locks earlier in the night. The hotel has refused to refund my stay. Instead, they gave me what now must be known as the "Intruder Special", 40% off. The manager refuses to call me back. Corporate customer service is useless and has no power; they only liaise with their independently owned franchises and can't issue refunds or make amends. BW- don't put a lame comment below telling me to contact you. I have tried. You know it. You won't call me back. Disgraceful.
So it's not in the greatest location you could possibly find and the beds are okay pillows or somewhat fine room was cold dirty. No toilet paper or barely any should I say. also charged me for smoking in the room because I left my empty pack of cigarettes in the garbage but I kept going outside for cigarettes that's the crazy part
Heat was on full blast thermostat wasn't working at all bed was not comfortable at all did not get any sleep, told front desk about it and she didn't care at all and just brushed it off, asked for a discount of some sort twice due to inconvenience and she brushed it off the first time and ignored the second
The first room we were assigned smelled like cigarettes or chemicals. The hallways and rooms were uncomfortably hot, and the beds were very firm like a hospital bed. The only positive experience was the breakfast.
Really the only half decent option in this area. Rooms were ok and the staff was great. Pool and sauna were good, no hot tub. I stay here 3 times a year. Breakfast is decent with your typical hot and cold options.
The hotel and room were lovely and breakfast was a great spread (despite lukewarm to cold). The big downfall was the cost, this hotel should not be 300+/night at any time!!! Location was not convenient, driving required for dinner unless subs or Keg (not exactly family friendly).
Toilet not working. A man at the front desk told me I had to plunge the toilet. When I refused he tried to hand me a plunger and filthy rags for clean up. When I threatened to have my credit card reversed he told me to go ahead. When I asked for another room he told me they were fully booked. They were not! Did I mention I am a woman and I am a senior? The service was appalling!
Clean, quiet, and comfortable. The staff were a pleasure to talk to and were very helpful. And the price was very competitive for the Toronto area. Considering the extremely high rates in downtown hotels, this was a bargain.
The staff, accommodations and breakfast were superb. The rooms were clean, well supplied and apportioned. The management was very knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. The hotel was well maintained, including the exterior. Very convenient location.
As we walked in the door we noticed everything was sticky, , you could hear people's shoes sticking to the floor as they walked. When my child used the toilet he told me the toilet was plugged, they only peed. Called the front desk and they told me since there was no night time custodian I HAD TO PLUNGER THE TOILET MYSELF, and to put the plunger in the bag supplied . When I placed the plumber in the bag, it had a hole in it leaking a mixture of urine and water across the floor. This wasn't the issue, the toilet was broken. At this point we demanded another room which we got. Got into next room it wasn't cleaned well. There was dust in the corners, very little toilet paper ,not enough towels for 3 guest, and the shower curtain had brown stains on it. On our last day I put up the door hanger asking for a room refresh, which we never got. Asked the front desk and they said you have to request it. No real response when I asked what's the purpose of the door hanger if it's ignored. The halls of the hotel weren't the cleanest either. There was a full pallet left in the hall for days, there were tire marks from a motorized wheel chair in the elevator for days (never got mopped), and the public bathroom was nasty, and like I mentioned earlier everything was sticky. (I tried to shuffle over at the coffe station and nearly fell down , my body moved and my feet stuck to the floor) The pool seemed very scummy, a lot of black mildew just above water level. Most concerning was that the door to the pool either didn't close all the way completely or the lock was defective, either way it couldn't be locked. Also the back door was so corroded it to wouldn't close on it own completely, thus leaving it unlocked and the building unsecured,.
easy access to Hwy401, few minutes drive to Scarborough Town Center and about 10min drive to UTSC. Room could use some updates, but it is clean. Staff are friendly and helpful. The staff that helped us checked-in really turned our difficult day to a pleasant one. Complimentary breakfast was adequate (it's free!!) Will stay again
Our vehicle was stolen from their parking lot over night. They were less than empathetic and even said that our stolen vehicle wasn't their problem. Which may be true, but they could be more understanding. They wouldn't look at the cameras or compensate our room. They don't have security guards so park at your own risk. You'd think with all the car thefts in Toronto that a hotel would try and do more to protect their customers. Will never stay at this best western or any other one ever again
The accommodation was very good, as well as the breakfast included and free parking. The location was very good for us because the hotel was close to the zoo, which was our first visit. And the ladies from the front desk were very kind.
Although we were just looking for a place to crash, we were not looking for other peoples DNA. There were random stray hairs in the shower and urine ON the toilet. Not in it… on it. Not exactly what I wanted to see especially with two small children that touch everything.
We came for a wedding, tented 4 rooms and the hotel staff were very nice. There was a strong smell of Marijuana in our room, but it was remedied quickly by the manager coming in with a machine to clear it. And complimentary water
We stayed here several times before covid and were pleased to find the facility and staff lived up to our expectations. The breakfast staff worked especially hard to please a large number of guests. Thank you
We arrived at 11:20pm after a very long hot day in Toronto on a family vacation where we went to Ripleys aquarium and a Toronto blue jays game. It was heavy traffic after the ball game so we arrived late to the hotel ready for a good night sleep before our next day of planned vacation where we where going to go to the Toronto zoo. When we arrived at the hotel they informed us that they had CANCELLED our booking because they called us at 10:40pm and we did not answer. I had my phone with me but probably because of the heavy traffic in Toronto it did not ring or I did not hear it and was also driving. I was there with my three children and NO place to sleep. They were rude and showed NO empathy for my situation. They did not offer me any other room as they claimed they were full and did not help me find another hotel or anything!!!!! I drove to a few local hotels close by, and all of them were closed to the public, and at full capacity. (I can not claim this but they looked to be used for refugees?) I proceeded to sit in a parking lot and called over a dozen hotels and all were full. We had to end our vacation and drive all the way home - arriving home after 3am in the morning. I was SO SO very upset with the lack of service provided by this hotel and will NEVER book here again and would never recommend it to anyone.
I stayed at this hotel in July with my family and had to extend our stay which went smoothly with a good price considering the fact that no reservation was made earlier Being a member helped me to get a good price though.
Contractors were in my house earlier that day and left the place quite a mess. They were coming back the next day to finish the work and clean up. I had a free night available and decided to use it for a one-night stay. Check-in was seamless and quick, and I received a nice King room with a pull-out bed. The room was clean and the bathroom was spotless. Wifi worked great and was easy to connect to. The only issue I had was with one of the reading lights. The lamp worked but the reading light on one side of the bed didn't work. The other did, so no big deal. Breakfast was standard hotel fare, with meat, eggs, oatmeal, fruits, cereals, etc. Overall a great one-night stay with no issues.
I asked the housekeeper to change our sheets due to blood stains. All they did was flip the sheets over. The pool was also disgusting. The breakfast food was also horrible 0/10. I'd rather sleep in a tent than come back here.
We went to the Toronto Zoo and stayed at this hotel after a long day of walking. The staff were wonderfully friendly and the rooms comfortable. But the best part was that my son forgot his backpack in the lobby. The staff kept it safe for several days. We got it back with all belongings after a quick phonecall. I was very impressed!
We checked in at 11 p.m. on the 28th, and left by 11 p.m. the next day. the hot water took 10 minutes to warm up, the tiled floor was sticky, there was water under the sink on the floor in the bathroom, and the carpet in the room was damp. The next morning, the elevator was out of order.
Enjoyed my stay here for 2 nights. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Breakfast was good. Aircon was bit noisy and can be improved upon. Great hotel for business stay. Staff was friendly and helpful. Location is also good.
Staff was friendly, room and common areas were very clean, internet was reliable and quick, breakfast was terrific! Only complaint is the bed covers. They were extremely thin - 2 bedsheets and a very thin blanket. Throughout the night they would slip off or get entangled, so I was waking up to fix them. It interrupted my sleep which is the only reason I am writing this in the review. Otherwise, our stay was terrific!
This was the only hotel available that was in close proximity to the event we were attending. We were pleasantly surprised. Clean room, good bathroom products. Pleasant staff, and a fairly decent breakfast included with room cost. By no means a high end hotel. However, totally adequate for a one night stay. No bar, or restaurant, which in our case was not required. We did not use the Pool or fitness centre. However, would have if time had permitted, they both looked totally fine. We are quite particular, and would have no problem staying here again.
Excellent cleanliness and efficient friendly staff. Good and conveniently located for my needs. Good parking facilities. Pool available if needed. Breakfast service is very good and consistent. The staff in there are wonderful.
Greant exprerience with reasonable value. The breakfast is great. Unlimited self serving coffee is available 24 hours a day. Also, swimming pool and gym room are great. Recommended. I will return to Toronto on 31 Mar 2023 to 9 Apr 2023, and I really want to stay in Best Western Plus Executive Inn again. However, sadly speaking, all rooms are fully booked.
Hotel was nice and clean. The pull-out sofa was horrendous though. Mattress was very old and springs popping through. Would not recommend it you need extra sleeping. Breakfast was great especially on the Saturday of our stay.
The staff was friendly, the breakfast was good, no matter how many people were in the room there was always enough food. The two breakfast associates were friendly, and cleaned up as soon as a guest left. No complaints
Was not worth the price. Renovation was not done well especially in the bathroom. Hot food, specifically omelettes, scrambled eggs and oatmeal were all ice cold. Bedding was very thin and uncomfortable.
Room was fine it was the closure of the Pool/sauna that was an issue. Was told it would be fixed for the next day and it was not. Staff is very friendly but knowledge of repairs was poor. Hope it is repaired for my next visit.
Broken fridge (all our food was spoiled), pool not working (in repair), spotlight from outside shone directly into room, impossible to make it dark, fold out bed was the worst I've ever experienced - could not sleep on it.
We stayed at this hotel as I had surgery. The breakfast was very large variety, very clean & organized. Extremely friendly staff.Very accommodating when we needed extra blankets, towels & facecloths. Coffee service in the room & the large number of Amazing pillows
Great value for your money - breakfast was delicious and many options. Grateful for that when travelling with a swim team! Customer service was great at the desk. Parking included is a plus. We frequent this location often. Thank you!
Stayed here for 3 nights in Oct gotten bitten from Head to Toe with Bedbugs!!!! Response from Corporate absolutely nothing took weeks before they contacted me back and then asked to send pictures sent them twice and still no response nice to know they care about their customers NOT!!!!
we stayed December 1st to 4th 2022 and i came home with 37 bites. at check out I told them and all they were concerned about was that I didn't tell everyone else there was a problem. I feel terrible that I didn't not yell it out before I left!! they said i would not be charged but then i received a phone call yesterday saying I was only being refunded for 1 night because I didn't tell them sooner well I had not clue that 3 bites from the first night was bed bugs so how was I supposed to say anything?!?! Clearly they were only concerned with making sure the current guests didn't find out about the bugs. once I was gone charged me anyway! the room was also not clean
Room was clean and ready for pickup time. Checkout was easy and convenient, I was able to call guest services from my room and leave the key in the room instead of waiting at the front desk which gave me more time to relax prior to an early morning meeting. Would definitely recommend this hotel and would visit again.
1st time we've stayed at this location and were very pleased with staff and all amenities. Location was very accessible and convenient. Robust breakfast offering and all members of the staff were friendly and helpful
It was a nice stay. The room was clean and everything seemed to work fine. The curtains were not good. Seems the light blocking curtain was missing. Breakfast was good with decent variety. I would stay there again if the price is good.
Double charged. The front desk people were nice, but I called twice and advised them that I was double charged and it was not reversed yet. One charge of $233 went through and the other one is still pending
Pool room had windows open and was very cold after entering and exiting the pool. Beds were very uncomfortable didn't get much rest unfortunately. Was a a good location just off the 401 and near a bunch of restaurants and the Scarborough town center.
Checked into the BestWestern on Estate Drive in Scarborough. I booked the hotel, I was having major surgery. I live out of town. The staff was very friendly. Checked into the room. The beds looked very old and uncomfortable. I did a check of the cleanliness of the room. Pubic hair in the toilet. Make up all over the walls. I cleaned and wiped everything down. Thick dust on the head boards. The doors where covered in dirt. The worst night sleep. You could feel the springs thru the mattress. I had to be @ the hospital @ 6am. For day surgery. Unfortunately I could not deal with the hotel. When I checked out the next day. I did made the front desk aware of the discomfort of the mattresses and the pubic hair and cleanliness of the room. The response was”oh we're so sorry you didn't enjoy your stay” Do not waste your money here
The hotel is exactly what you'd expect at this price point, clean, good amenities, the bed was comfortable and the internet speed was good. The staff was amazing, Best Western has a good team working there.
The front desk was friendly upon check-in and check-out process. The location is great as it is close to many restaurants and essentials like the gas station and convenience store. I also really appreciated the hotel had drinks/snacks available for purchase at the front desk. When we arrived, we were given a free room upgrade which was a great surprise. The layout of the room was great, spacious and comfortable. Overall, the room looked really clean and fresh. The only thing that I was really disgusted by was the coffee machine. When I went to go use it I found an old dried-up tea bag. I didn't bother raising this concern to the front desk or asking for a new one because at this point I was too disgusted to even want to use one. The other thing I was disappointed about was that we were not able to stream any movies and the hotel did not have an option to purchase movies either. Internet was great though and luckily we had our laptop so we just steamed it from there. But honestly, aside from the coffee machine and TV, it was a wonderful stay and one of the best 3-star hotels I've stayed at. I would consider booking here again.
I chose this hotel because it was the closest and most convenient one for my purposes. It was a little on the expensive side but that was my fault as I waited till last minute to book. Needless to say I was a little apprehensive about it as I had booked it only because I needed a place to stay and didn't have another option at the time. But I was pleasantly surprised. They let me check in late, my room was on the 4th floor, and big enough with an excellent view over the parking lot and Markham Road and the 401. In spite of its close proximity to these, I was not troubled by any noise. There was a microwave and fridge in the room which again was necessary for me, and the breakfast was absolutely amazing with every single option available that one could possibly think of. The only thing I would suggest improving is the breakfast seating area, as there wasn't much space. For me it was fine as I was by myself, but some couples and families had a problem finding seats to sit together. There is a gym and swimming pool but I didn't use them. Front desk is very very helpful. My booking was for two separate rooms as I couldn't get the same room for three nights but they changed it for me so I stayed in the same room. They also allowed me to check out late. Even though my first time staying here was because I didn't have a choice, I shall definitely stay here again, this time by choice, and I'll make sure I book well in advance to get a good rate.
Exceptional customer service in all aspects of accommodations. The staff at the front desk, the breakfast servers and the cleaning staff were always friendly, helpful and so professional. The location of the hotel was superb with eating places close and yet nestled in a good location. I would highly recomend this hotel to anyone who wants to be in a wonderful environment while away from home.
Hotel and rooms were very clean. Staff was polite. Nice selection of breakfast. Will be staying here again. Not close enough to anything to walk to except a Keg and a McDonald's and there were, strangely many geese wandering the road to the hotel's entrance.
overall a great hotel but a little to far from downtown Toronto with no vehicle.Buses were close by tho but the trip to downtown took over an hour. The breakfast was good and the staff was great.Rooms were very clean.
The hotel is at a good location which made me easier to travel nearby. The room is clean with adequate spaces. Front desk is helpful. The only thing to improve is the road outside is under construction whilrme guests need to carry a long way with their luggage to proceed to check in.
A management team that cannot resolve problems. Excuses after excuses, hotel personnel could not take responsibility to resolve problem. The manager on duty did not take action to resolve customer complaint.
The hotel has been getting worse in the cleanliness department had to switch rooms after a wet mold smell and then encountered stains on the sofa hair on the bathroom floor and a dirty shower tub I raised this issue to the front desk and also took pictures and they indicated that they would address it with management.
I stayed there overnight for one night and when I booked I specifically asked for no chemicals to be used in the room prior to my stay as I have extreme allergies to fragrances. They assured me that my room would be chemical free. I also called a couple of days before my arrival to confirm that my room would be chemical free and,, again, was assured that my record stated that it be chemical free. When I arrived, the room was highly fragranced, which is a nightmare for me. Since someone from housekeeping was a couple of rooms down from mine, I asked her if they use plug-ins or something and she said no to the plug-ins but she had sprayed the room with something "to make it smell nice". I told her that I expressly booked with no-chemical designation. She said she did not see that on my record. She then showed me another identical room that she had not sprayed yet and I told her that one was fine and went to the front desk and asked to be moved to the new room. The gentleman I talked to was quick to let me move my belongings to the new room and I left to attend the event that i was in Toronto for. When I arrived back to the room around midnight, it smelled like something had been sprayed in the room and it was horrible for me and made me quite ill. Since it was midnight and I knew the hotel was fully booked and would not be able to move me, I endured the fragrance but was not well at all in the morning. I sent a note to the hotel the next morning and also talked to someone at Customer Care. I got a note back from the hotel that did not address my concerns and a week later, I am still waiting to hear back from Customer Care. In this day and age, when so many people are allergic to fragrances, sprays, chemicals, I do not understand why this is necessary. I have always been able to count on Best Western, but not any more, it seems.
Stayed here on my work trip, enjoyed every aspect of it. Clean and comfortable room, pool with sauna, excellent breakfast served variety of hot meals every day, friendly and accommodating staff, soundproof walls (the latter is very important to me).
Easy check in with pleasant staff who helped me find my membership number. Hotel has updated appearance, front lobby is nice. Room was comfortable and clean. Bed comfortable. AC works so well that I found myself a bit cold overnight and couldn't find any additional blankets to use. Soaps/shampoos in bathroom nice quality. Working fridge in room was helpful to have. Easy access off the 401, was perfect for us....and was not too far from downtown Toronto. Breakfast was plentiful, lots of choice, good quality for hotel breakfast. Satisfied with the stay and would stay again.
We booked this hotel because of its proximity to the zoo and because it has a pool. Overall our stay was ok, but the room wasn't overly clean and we didn't sleep very well (definitely wish we had brought our own pillows!). We requested a room close to the elevator and we were almost as far away as possible. We would maybe stay again if we plan to visit the zoo, only because of its location.
Comfortable rooms, 2 adults and two teens, the internet was a little sketchy but generally good, free parking is a bonus and so is the included breakfast. Great coffee. Good food. Good service. This hotel is a great value, the breakfast was good
our room was ready early so we got an early check-in which in turn allowed us to explore the city a bit more instead of waiting around. they were very accommodating and very helpful. the lady at the front desk was amazing, and check out was effortless. id definitely stay again.
The location and complimentary breakfast were great. The reception staff were also very accommodating. However the rooms were not as clean as we expected and they definitely could be updated. Overall, a decent stay.
Entire staff were very friendly including housekeeper, the place was neat and clean, closest to the city market or city center forgot the name lol but everything was closest will definitely stay again.
The hotel was clean and the breakfast was great! The only issues I had was there was no one taking our garbage out and refilling our towels. They say b/c of Covid. But to go into someone's room and take out the garbage and replace towels shouldn't be harmful now. Just my thoughts!
The overall hotel experience was good. The beds were adequate, but not great. I have experienced far superior beds at Holliday Innn for less money. The staff was great, though! They were professional and friendly, but they were never intrusive.
We stayed at this hotel on July 3rd. We got to our room and the mirror was streaky and the TV had a big, smeary streak on it. There was no sheet on the one queen bed just a blanket. The bathroom taps were streaky. The room was good but I was not impressed with the cleanliness. We have stayed at Best Westerns before and were quite happy but this one did not measure up in regards to cleanliness at least in our room.
We stayed here for 3 nights as part of a multi centre trip to Canada. The first impression was good with a smooth check in. We were given plenty of information about the hotel and its amenities before being directed to our room on the 3rd floor. The room was clean and well equipped with tea and coffee making facilities included (always a bonus). When we asked to have some extra coffee it was no problem whatsoever and provided very quickly. Despite being near a main road it was quiet in the room. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was absolutely fine. Breakfast was provided with a good variety of continental items as well as a fantastic waffle maker. The staff on hand were super friendly and helpful. The swimming pool was very warm but it was fine and always quiet when we used it. The whirlpool was extremely hot and was really nice after a long day walking around Toronto. The sauna was also lovely and hot. We asked the receptionist to assist us with our booked transfer to Niagara Falls and nothing was too much trouble. Leah and her colleague (sadly she wasn't wearing a badge so didn't catch her name) sorted it out for us and gave us a map to direct us to which downtown hotel we were being picked up from. The hotel itself is about a 20 minute walk to McCowan subway station but it is on the flat so no problem at all. There are buses to the centre of Scarborough from the main road. There is also a nearby restaurant which was excellent as well as a petrol station to buy snacks from. We really enjoyed our stay here.
This place is a fav of our family in scarborough. It is clean, well appointed, and in a relatively safe area. the pool and hot tub are nice but the pool was abnormaly hot this time around. Breakfast was very good and varies slightly day to day. sometimes the A/C unit stops working but you just need to reset the circuit breaker on the end of the power cord. I will also note that our king bed was extremely nice but the sofabed was the opposite. My one complaint is that they confused me with another patron and ended up cancelling my reservation. I am thankful at least to have a room as they were fully booked on the second day. It was a pain having to check in and out again the second day and now im looking out for billing anomalies on my credit card. just a hassle. Was told it was a "glitch" but i suspect an error by a new employee checking me in who didnt seem to notice that two people can share the same last name.
Kindly greeted on check-in, my needs were well accomodated and the room was ready for my 2-night stay. Room is spacious, well fitted, but carpet stinks and is quite old, needing replacement (or better: no carpet at all). Bathroom was normal, but not 100% clean (found few hair in sink). Fridge in room was not working properly (hot inside) but did not really needed it. Coffee machine worked fine. Location is quite practical. Surroundings (businesses) are almost empty (for rent) and the nearby ancient hotel is now a homeless shelter (no issues as far as I've experienced, all is clean, civil and organized). Shower and bed were of good quality, sheets and pillows very comfy. Room A/C quite noisy and air didn't feel very clean (maybe because of the run-down carpet). Breakfast is worth not missing. Croissants, all kinds of bread, waffle machine, yogurth & juice choices, well presented and replenished all the time. Did not use swimming pool but people there seemed to have a good time. Parking was easy, parking lot was clean (though did not find a garbage bin outside). Check out was smooth and I got my invoice on my app immediately, no troubles. WARNING: Petrocanada gas station nearby had deffective pump charging without filling. Nobody there cared. Avoid.
We stayed at this hotel in June 2022. PLUSES - the room was nice, mattress very comfortable. Check in was easy. Breakfast was terrific!! and the ladies preparing the breakfast were wonderful, friendly and helpful :):) A big thank you to them!! NEGATIVES - Sofa had large dark stains on it:(. Back half of wall thermostat still screwed into the wall. No kleenex in the room. Curtains were weird and found it hard to block out all light. Shower stall had dark crack running along 1 wall. This must be an old tired hotel:) Needs updating. WORST, but not the hotels fault, was workmen were using a huge pile driver to break sections of cement of the 401 hwy a stone's throw from the hotel. Woke us up at 1:15 am and didn't stop til 6 am? It was awful, absolutely NO SLEEP. So altho a nice hotel overall and a handy location, i wouldn't stay at a hotel along the 401 again.
The front doors of the hotel had marks from a dirty cloth used to clean them. The first room they put us in had broken curtain rod, telephone that didn't work, toilet that didn't flush properly and shower that didn't work properly. The manager felt this was worth a $30 refund.
I have stayed at this location 3 times over the last 7yrs. All 3 times have been pleasant. It is located close to a variety of restaurants (fast food, Indian, Mexican. Chinese) and is close to malls and grocery stores. Also the 401 adjacent to the hotel. I guess you can hear the drone of constant traffic along the highway but for me that white nose for sleeping. On one occasion the AC was not working correctly. I would definitely stay here again!
Very nice place, clean, good breakfast. And there were other amenities (pool, hot tub) but that I did not use. The location is quite close to the highway, but you need to drive to get food. Not much around.
Clean room, pool area, breakfast area and lobby. We enjoyed our night here and would recommend to anyone! Our room was the perfect set up and the kids had a great time! Best breakfast by far! Such a selection! Thank you!
The overall stay was just that - a stay in a hotel. The amenities and the hotel itself left much to be desired. The hotel is run down and needs several upgrades, but if you just need a place to crash, this is passable.
Stayed at this Best western on the way to Montreal. Convenient stay just after Toronto. Not a scenic area, but plenty restaurants and stores not too far, gas station just down the block. Excellent hotel, clean and good amenities.
Great room, great house. Very friendly and professional staff. A place well worth recommending to friends and other travellers. Large Parking lot. Beautiful pool. Not too far from downtown Toronto including nearby public travel (bus, train).
This is the second time I've stayed here! It's a nice place and the rooms are well-appointed but could use a little paint touch up, nothing major. The breakfast room was very busy but the food was good! Try the coffee machines.... so cool.
Everyone is so friendly. It's a very clean hotel and the food is amazing. I prefer this location because it's close to where my appointment takes place. The staff is so accommodating and helpful. It truly is my home away from home.
Yes Best Western West just fine.Yes Best Western plus located close to the Toronto zoo. We were going there for the illumination show. The price was right, the staff was fine, the only thing is the breakfast could've been better.
Although the rooms are clean and the service is acceptable the free breakfast provided has a lot to be desired. They ranged from scrambled eggs with spicy French fries to what looked like a pre made omelette patty with a sausage patty. The best part of the breakfast is the toast, juices, pastries, fruit and yogurt.
Group rooms not together, pool not in operation, business centre not in operation, slow check in process. We were there for a team sports event. When comparing hotel options a pool was a must for a group of 11-12 year old kids. When the pool was out of service, it was disappointing that no discount was given to match non pool hotel options we had. The business centre not open for homework was annoying. hot breakfast was a decent hotel breakfast Staff was friendly
My reason for this visit was for a funeral for my mom and I find during this time you want things to go as smooth as possible so with that in mind everything just fell into place perfectly. Location, service, prices, cleanliness and of course the staff. Thank you
They discriminate and treat customers awful. The hotel is very clean and nice. However the pool was closed. And the fitness centre had terrible hours The breakfast is awful. The staff is brutal. Very little concern on customer service
Good hotel for a fair price. Breakfast was good, rooms were clean and comfortable. Good location, close to Scarborough Town Centre mall where you can find any type of stores and services (banks, mobile, etc). Near Scarborough UofT campus.
Stayed at this hotel because of proximity to airport and place of business. Also because free parking and breakfast were provided. Rooms were clean and had all the amenities needed. Overall, I had a comfortable stay.
Great 5 night stay at 38 Estate Drive in Scarborough We were there at the Pan AM sports center for swimming racing! And My son won the GOLD medal in the 50 meter and almost set a new Canadian Record! Keep watching for the record by Joshua Liendo to be broken soon. We will be staying here at this shotel every time we return to Toronto!
There are no slippers, no toothbrushes, no toothpaste in this whole hotel. The hot water was not too hot. Secondly, the room was not clean. When I opened one of the refrigerators in the room, there was leftover food left by a guest. The overall feeling to me can only be said to be mediocre because two star hotels charge three or four star hotel service fees. And he didn't provide what was supposed to be there. The price of a two-star hotel is charged according to the standard of three or four stars, which should not be very, very expensive, and there are no necessary things to provide.
My family had a very unpleasant stay at this inn. When we arrived to check in, the front desk staff could not find our reservation, which had been made (and confirmed) through Expedia. It took at least 30 mins for them to find us another room at the same rate. We had to use the pull-out couch for our 3rd child, and when we opened it, it was full of potato chip crumbs and the sheets were dirty and rumpled. I called for replacement sheets, which front desk staff brought somewhat resentfully. The replacement blanket was badly stained. Breakfast had to be picked up downstairs and brought up to our room to eat, due to COVID protocols. Thankfully we ate early, but by the time we left, there was a terribly long lineup to get food. It's a highly inefficient and frustrating system. We will never stay here again.
This is the 4th time we've stayed at this Best Western. We have a 4 hour drive to the hospital in Scarborough, so prefer to break up the travel and ensure we're down in time for our appt. We continually find all staff to be friendly, prompt, helpful, and, when needed, quick to solve any problems or answer any out-of-the-ordinary questions/questions. The rooms have warm, updated decor, bathrooms stocked with pleasantly-fragranced citrus products, and the breakfast has many delicious hot and cold options. COVID protocols are in place, giving peace-of-mind. This property is conveniently located right off the 401 and Markham Road, in a quiet neighborhood, with free on-site parking. We will definitely stay again.
After travelling for 6 days and staying a different hotels along the way, we can say that Best Western had the most comfortable beds. We had the best sleep. The hotel was very quiet, clean and the staff were very pleasant.
The hotel lobby, elevator and parts of my bathroom were dirty. One elevator was stuck and buzzing loudly for the duration of my stay. The toilet in my room ran intermittently, non-stop. At check-in, the staff member told me that my request for a quiet room (not on the highway 401 side of the property) wasn't noted on my reservation. Strangely, I can see it myself when I log in to the Best Western site and view past reservations. Overall, for me, the property looked fine from outside, but was dingy and neglected on the inside.
We went to Toronto for are first wedding anniversary with are two kids. 2 n 2 month old. Great hotel to stay. Pool was great n warm was like swimming in a bath tub. If we go back well definitely use this hotel.
Fantastic value and great service despite the safety measures in place due to the pandemic. Love the proximity to Scaddabush and that it is basically next door to The Keg! Can't wait til the pool is open again (hopefully next time)!
Helpful staff, fast check in. Close to shopping and other attractions. Clean spacious rooms. Good Breakfast. Free parking. All staff very friendly( check in staff, and Breakfast staff. Doing a great job during Covid.
Found a baby pacifier in the pillow case the next morning when gathering my belongings and moving the pillow to make sure I had everything. Right away I could tell something was there. So there is no way this pacifier went through the laundry. It would have been discovered on folding and certainly when putting it on the pillow. So to discover the bed had germs from someone else, possible sick germs was beyond disturbing. And the front desk, while they expressed shock, didn't really seem too disturbed.
I booked 3 rooms for our group, we were staying there so we could enjoy the city and the zoo. Upon arrival everything seemed fine, we were checked in by Mohammed, who was very friendly and fast. We got to our rooms, they appeared upon first glance to be fine. The one room had hairs in the bed, to the point that my Mother refused to sleep in it, and stripped the bed to sleep on some blankets from in our car. The second room was fine. The third room, our room, was fine until we got our kids dressed for bed and pulled out the sofa queen bed. Upon opening it it was absolutely obvious that it had never been made, I don't mean that there were not blankets, I mean that it had blankets that had quite obviously been slept it, including hair and sweat stains on the blankets, it also had a vape in the blankets. We called down and spoke with Mohammed who didn't really understand the issue, so we had him come up to the room and look, he offered to give us clean blankets so that we could change the bed, but we refused and our children were not interested in sleeping in the bed after seeing the state of it and the vape. He took photos to forward to his Manager and we requested to change rooms. He was apologetic and went downstairs to try and find us another room, he had us meet him on a lower floor that had some sort of party going on and was now a floor away from the rest of our family group. Finally, he found another room on the same floor for us, and dressing in pajamas, we had to pack up all our belongings, move to a new room, unpack, then finally go to bed. When we checked out, they acted like nothing had happened, and we asked to speak with the Manager, who was not in. So we spoke with the Supervisor who offered us $2 in reward points, and gave us a 6% discount... She told us that it was all she could do and we would hear from the Manager. We are at a week now and we've heard nothing from the Manager. In addition, none of the ice machines worked, and none of the vending machines worked. The breakfast in a morning was limited due to COVID restrictions, as was pool use, which is understandable, but their breakfast "sausage" was chopped up hotdogs, and anything other than cereal in a ziplock bag or eggs was hidden around a corner that you had to ask for, but it wasn't even possible to see it in order to ask for it. We are extremely unsatisfied with our experience and the customer service, apart from Mohammed who initially check us.
First off let me say that the people working at this hotel are lovely, and trying their absolute best in difficult times. However, the hotel has a really serious issue with ventilation. When I entered the hotel there was an incredibly strong chemical smell from all the cleaning fluids being used for disinfecting. My room had just as a strong a smell, and was 26 degrees centigrade when I first entered. I turned the air conditioner on (in May in Canada when it was 9 degrees outside) and managed to get it down to 24 degrees before bedtime. I made the mistake of turning the AC off before going to sleep, to wake up positively bathed in sweat. I ended up needing to run the AC all night just to get the room down to 23 degrees. On the morning I checked out, the smell when I left my room was definitely not cleaning fluid--I think it came from the bags of garbage being collected. Not the housekeeping staff's fault--fundamentally the issue is terrible ventilation! This would be a perfectly okay hotel if all the windows and doors could be opened for a good blow out.
The amazing place to stay with friends and family. Welcoming environment, friendly staff and precisely perfect amenities. The quality of decoration and facilities provided for a warm stay is phenomenal. Also, the deals are found very consumer rewarding and engaging.
We just wanted a quiet night alone and my goodness did we get it. This hotel was clean and updated from your first steps in. I was greeted by Mohammed at the front desk and he instantly made me feel relaxed and at home. Check in was a breeze with some welcomed chit chat. I was pleased when I got to my room with how clean it was and how not "hotelly" it smelled. The couch was comfy for lounging, eating and watching TV. Now the peice de resistance; the bed! I lasted only about ten mins watching TV before I drifted off into the most wonderful sleep I've had in a very long time. We woke up refreshed and ready to start our day with smiles on our faces. Cheesy I know... Totally recommend this hotel and to think I didn't even check the amenities. Will stay here again!
The snacks available for purchase were an exercise in price gouging. There was a distinct smell of urine in the hallway. There seemed to be a lot of exterior noise. The room had no room darkening blinds/curtains. The complimentary breakfast was poor.
Was clean and well taken care off. Staff was awsome. Walks aways from everything anddddd tucked away from everything if you need to get away without leaving the area... would say could be a little easier on the pockets but you pay for what u get...
Excellent service and front desk staff (Hassan especially) although there was one front desk manager who refused us a room after staying previously numerous times (Kalai or Kolai I believe). Otherwise it was a quite enjoyable experience particularly the breakfast and the variety that was offered.
We decided to stay at Best Western because we were too tired to drive back home after spending the day in Toronto. We wanted to do one more attraction before heading back home:The Toronto zoo.The hotel was clean and spacious. The beds were comfortable.Breakfast was also good.I would definitely recommend staying there.
Had to stay on a last minute need - and was hesitant due to COVID. The front desk staff was extremely professional yet friendly. The hotel was clean and modern and my KIng room was large and comfortable and very clean. Unfortunately breakfast was not available due to health restrictions. Would come back just to try that !
From the welcoming lobby to the incredibly comfy bed with fabulous pillows and bedding, we enjoyed our experience immensely. The breakfast was delicious with a wide variety and changed from one day to the next to keep things interesting. 24 hr fresh brewed coffee was fabulous as well.
We stayed here on a whim and found this gem. You won't be disappointed with the staff or service. Breakfast is fabulous!! The room was updated and clean. The pool was a welcome treat after a long day.
This location has a great pool and hot tub! Recently updated and it shows! Received a complimentary room upgrade and the King Suite was fabulous! Breakfast included- was decent. I would definitely reccomend to others!
I stayed at this property this week and was extremely impressed with the staff at this hotel !! Very warm, friendly and fast check in !! The room that I was provided had a king size bed and the room was huge !!! Room was extremely clean and was very impressed by the quality of lighting in the bathroom. The next morning, I had their complimentary breakfast, and what I have never seen before, was the kitchen team , would follow up with me and proactively offer my juice, fruit cup, etc , while I was sitting at my table. Very very nice touch and greatly appreciated!!! Never seen that before at a Best Western. Overall it was an excellent stay and their staff are outstanding! I would highly recommend.
My wife and I chose this hotel to stay at as it was partnered with the Ontario Science Centre. We brought our grandson here for the weekend. We received a twenty per cent discount at the Science Centre, showing our hotel reservation at the entrance. The location was great as it was very close to Hwy 401 and easy to get there. It is only fifteen minutes from the Science Centre and close to restaurants, although if you drive twenty minutes to Yonge Street you will find endless selections of restaurants! The hotel was very clean, the staff were extremely friendly, the pool was very clean, and the hot buffet breakfast was incredibly good!! The hotel also has available a level two charger which we used for our EV. Upon departure on Sunday morning, the desk clerk gave our grandson a few treats - that made him even more happy. It was a great over-all experience and would highly recommend this hotel.
I came to stay at this hotel because my daughter had an appt at a hospital nearby, the front desk staff were so incredible and their hospitality was exceptional. We had to wait for one of our guests to arrive, they offered us coffee and let us know where we could use a washroom while we waited. Also we offered to go to a nearby coffee shop to wait and they said just sit and wait in the lobby here. They went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable.
Very clean, great free breakfast variety, most staff was fabulous. Nice pool, hot tub and sauna. Rooms are nicely decorated and clean. Walls are thin so you can hear your neighbors especially when they talk loudly or have TV volume up.
My first time at this hotel but not my last. Hotel staff were very helpfull and courteous, breakfast was great and pool hot tub looked inviting even though we didnt use, Only downfall is lack of resturants in immediate are exceot for the Keg.
My husband and I have stay at this hotel every time we come to Toronto. It is a beautiful, clean and well kept hotel. We love staying there. The rooms are clean. The breakfast is well stocked and the staff are excellent.
The hotel was very clean, the hot tub in the swimming pool area could use a cleaning (spewing ecru colored foam) but the room was spottless as was the breakfast area and the pool area. Maids were very friendly as was all the staff. I found the hotel expensive, but it is in Toronto, so I expected that.
Excellent hotel for the value.. travelled for my daughters basketball tournament. Excellent service overall, only problem for me was that the beds were too hard so not the best sleep and the pillows were too soft.
Nice hotel, clean, great breakfast, friendly staff. Enjoyed 3 nights there for our girls hockey tournament and won a Gold medal! Staff was very tolerant too, having a big team there. Many hotels aren't. Rooms were a bit warm but thankfully the thermostat was easy to use. Only complaint... please don't rudely call at 11:18am, tell us checkout is 11 and ask if we're paying the $75 late checkout fee, as we're walking out the door.
We were upgraded to a suite. This meant cupboards, a sink and a dining room table. However, unlike other executive suits, there were no dishes in the cupboards thus, the cupboards and sink were not very useful. There was also no robe, again unlike other executive suits of this class I have stayed in. Finally, the mattress was uncomfortable, the shower leaked and the bathroom sink facet was broken. The latter was fixed during our stay.
Family of 5 stayed in one room... clean, very convenient to the Markham Road exit on the 401. Decent breakfast included. Elevator was a bit slow, but nothing to fuss about. Keg steakhouse is a 3-minute walk away (2 doors down the street)
Rooms require maintenance from plumbing to paint. Staff friendly. Tubs are slippery. The really nice heated mirror in the bathroom is lost in all that is sub-standard. There are recycling containers in rooms, but none in common areas that I noticed. Doesn't really matter as the housekeeping staff put mine in with the garbage.
No cost for young children with 1 paying adult. I would stay there if I am in the area and I am travelling with all three. The breakfast was good, with a variety of options. Breakfast space is a bit small when there are large groups.
We stayed two nights. After our first night the room was not cleaned. We did NOT have a do not disturb sign. We had left at 630 am attending a funeral and came back around 230 pm giving them plenty of time to clean. Complained about this and was told it will brought to managers attention. During checkout the manager was busy and she just brushed us off with a 10 percent discount. Very disappointing experience. As we always go to BW for our stays.
Stayed here during Ontario Juniors Swim meet. Had a very large room and it was very quiet, ideal for rest between prelims and finals. Rooms are outdated, but were very clean. The cleaning staff did their utmost best to accommodate cleaning within set time schedules.
This trip was to be a relaxing trip to enjoy the Christmas market. This location was nice and close to the 401 which we liked. We were not spending a lot of time at the hotel we needed clean, friendly and affordable. BW had all of that for us. Had a great weekend.
The property was nice enough, not too far off the 401 and from the Scarborough Town Centre. The breakfast was okay and the breakfast area was clean. My bed was slightly uncomfortable, however. The staff didn't seem inclined to be overly helpful, either. I'm not sure I would stay here by choice again.
Well maintained property and friendly staff. This is a great place to stay, especially if you are looking for the basics at a reasonable price. Free wifi. The breakfast included hot food and was changed up from day to day.
Excellent hotel and convenient location off the 401. Very friendly staff and clean and presentable hotel. i would highly recommend this to business travellers and those travelling alone. The staff are extremely pleasant and they have an excellent breakfast available.
The check in was very good, patient and helpful staff on the front desk. The hotel was clean, even in the middle of some crazy weather changes. The breakfast area was clean and all of the offered breakfast items were available and fresh. Located close to the 401 highway, my room was quiet. This location was close to my work office.
I stopped overnight in Best Western Plus Executive Inn due to its convenient location close to the 401 check-in was so smooth and quick also check-out didn't take a minute. to my surprise room was ulraclean neat and tidy with a very clean bathroom. Staf is friendly and welcoming. I didn't have the chance to try breakfast but the free coffee they offered was not bad at all. I sow a covered swimming pool that looks nice but I didn't have the time to try it.
Stayed here for two nights while visiting customers. I was looking for a hotel near the 401 with free parking. The room was a good size, and the bathroom lighting with the halogens was great, with plenty of counter space. The free breakfast was average at best. On two occasions, I lost power. It wasn't for long, but rather annoying. It was too hot in the hallways, and felt very stuffy, with no air circulation. This hotel is right off the 401 in a small industrial park. The Keg is walking distance, which is a great dining option if you don't want to take your car.
Fast check in, room was ready when I arrived. Rooms are very spacious and clean, lots of electric outlets. Close to everything (shopping, Hospital, museums. Love there hot tub, very hot. tub. Nose leave there wasnt any
Great room - quiet and the bathroom is nicely decorated. The advance check in meant I was in my room before I knew it. Well located near Centennial College and the Scarborough Town Center. Lots of parking and a good breakfast.
When they mean best western ,it is the cleanest , helpful and professional best western that i ever been in . The staff go beyond to please you . 5 star plus . The parking is good but needs a few parking spots that is the only problem . The pool is good and breakfast buffet is great ,it didnt run out . This best western i would recommend to all my friends.
Was impressed with the comfort of the beds and quietness of the rooms. This hotel has great rooms that are clean and comfortable. The only negative is the free breakfasts. Found them to be bland and not particularly tasty. If you are there for more than a day check for the nearest Tim Horton's.
I have stayed here many, many times over the last 20 plus years. The hotel has just undergone a complete renovation and looks fabulous. Although it is next to the 401 noise has never been an issue. We did have an issue with water not draining from the tub but it was promptly addressed. The breakfast is excellent and housekeeping is also extraordinaire. It is still my go to hotel in Toronto.
Check in and check out process very easy. Front desk staff were very friendly, greeting me as I passed by the desk each time. Discounted rates for CAA and currently promotions explained to me during initial booking. Rooms were clean and the hotel is modern.
conveniently located clean hotel, attentive staff. Coffee and tea making facilities available in room and common room. Bedrooms are spaces rooms equipped with fridge and microwave. Buffet breakfast served every day.
VERY CLEAN, Staff was polite, everything in this hotel was clean and neat, the pool was nice, a little cold but still nice. Internet was very fast and breakfast was a pleasure, there was a variety of foods to choose form and lots of dining space.
I just want to disclose that my family look your place, the service, and the environment are comforting. However, if I am to open talks about Best Western I may forgot I will be checking out tomorrow, so better I make my feelings known in a nut shell. I believe what I will talk about has been brushed through in the survey I answered earlier, thank you.
Would not recommend this hotel to anyone. The customer service is not below average. The group sales representative does not follow up or make any effort in helping his customers. Lots of other great hotels in the area to choose from with better property and more reasonable pricing.
Nice Hotel in good location with fair prices , the room is clean & tidy . the only problem is there is not a big variety of food in breakfast and halal food is not always available , only in some few days
In for our Nieces wedding and this BW was under 8 km to get to the venue. The BW brand has been consistently very good and this hotel also delivered. Friendly staff and a very spacious clean room. Our room had a very comfortable king bed, a sofa, table and chairs plus a desk and it was comfortable. The shower was hot with good water pressure. The A/C unit was quiet and the room was overall pleasant. The breakfast which was included was top notch as well. Two styles of hot eggs, sausage, back bacon and of course waffles, oatmeal, bagels, yogurt, juice and coffee etc. There was a pool but we did not partake but maybe next time. There is a Keg restaurant with just a few minute walk away if you like a good steak. Overall a great one night stay.
I stayed at Best Western for my wedding the weekend of August 30, 2019. After touring all the other hotels, not only was it affordable but it was beautiful and clean. The staff Dane and Jessa are awesome, they really care that eveything goes well. We had the executive sweet which is large and beautiful. Not to mention free breakfast everyday! Pool and gym and Sauna are awesome and the place is modern...I gave up my Fairmont Royal York reservation to stay at Best Western! Who would have thought we'd find this gem in Scarborough!
My other half and I stayed for what I think was the third time at the BW Inn in Scarborough (Markham Rd. and 401). We like it there. The staff is friendly and helpful, the hotel itself is impeccably kept, and the breakfast is really good! It's a perfect way to start the day - good food, friendly staff, and of course a good read of the Toronto Star. We'll definitely be back!
The only room available when we made our reservation was a king suite, and the price seemed quite high, but we booked the room because our son's family had previously made their reservation and were staying at this hotel. The room was spacious (more than we needed, but we didn't have a choice), nicely decorated, and VERY CLEAN. We were pleased enough that on our way home we stayed at this same hotel. On our return trip a smaller room was available, and it too met our expectations! We had never stayed at a Best Western, as our local ones are definitely not the quality of this hotel. We ,in the future, not automatically rule out Best Western as a chain of choice.
We stayed there for 6 days. Breakfast room too small, not enough room for everybody. Pool was under renovation and there was no previous warning. For two days, housekeepers tided the room but didn't take the garbage out. The washing machine stopped working and it wouldn't be fixed until my last day. The TV remote control didn't work properly.
Definitely received a great experience from staying at this Best Western! It was money well spent and all staff were super friendly and helpful, especially Blanca! It was too bad the pool only a day before our vacation ended but we still thor8enjoyed our stay!
Bed was exceptionally comfortable. Best sleep I think I've had in a hotel. Easy to get to off of 401 and a easy drive to downtown. Will definitely stay here again. Clean room and great breakfast. Definitely would recommend to friends and family
Quite satisfied with all amenities. There is a complimentary 24/7 tea & coffee facility. There are adequate amenities in the room. Beds are firm and comfortable with an assortment of pillows. Breakfast is complimentary and the WiFi (the free option) functions well. All in all pleasant stay with good caring staff. Regular full scale maintenance at the property requisite for better upkeep can be slightly inconvenient at times. This happened to us on both occasions different years that we were at he property but did not bother us too much.
Management did not stick to their rules and everytime you inquire about something you got different responses. For example when i checked inn i inquiered for a late check out and i was told 1 p.m is the latest and i agreed to that. At the end of my staying i found out that wasnt in my file and they couldn't give me more than 12p.m. but they werent sure if i wouldn't be charged. I decided to pay extraand they changed the check out time to 3 p.m. The same price for my friend but he got till 4p.m. Sexiest manager?
My husband and I visited this hotel recently when we had a very early medical appointment in Toronto. Since we live out of town we decided to arrive early and stay the night. Our room was ready and it was on the first floor which is great since my husband is handicapped. The receptionist Kimberly seemed bored and didn't smile or explain anything to us re: rewards we were getting other than to tell us when breakfast was. Speaking of breakfast, the peameal bacon was a nice surprise but the oatmeal was just a hot watery soup...... we eat oatmeal every day and this was a disappointment. We mentioned it to the waitress on duty but she just shrugged.... she proceeded to sit down amongst the patrons with 2 other employees and eat breakfast. Very surprised that they were allowed to do this when the breakfast area was crowded with folks. We mentioned it to the manager on a review and we are booked here again in a couple of weeks and we will see if there is improvement so that it can be excellent. The rooms were clean as was the hotel.
As my mom and I walk in, the great welcome was amazing. The staff was so polite and had a big smile and so friendly too. I would definitely stay here again. Check out was also very easy. Thank you so much!
The property is well located off the highway but is well isolated from traffic noise. Rooms are functional and ultra clean. Staff are welcoming, warm and responsive. A good place for personal, family, or business stay.
Staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The front desk staff was very welcoming and and cleaning staff was friendly and smiling. the atmosphere in this hotel is very good and we have stayed here quite often when we are in the area.
We booked this hotel at what was supposed to be a special wedding party rate of $155 but turned put to be nearer $185 by the time you add tax. This was more expensive than the better hotels we stayed in over a two week trip to Canada. The poll was closed, the reception staff were I different, the room was noisy, the hotel is just a couple of hundred meters off the 12 lane highway, and breakfast was nothing better than OK. All in all a dissapointment
Clean hotel, nice location ,comfortable beds ,friendly staff, breakfast ok ,very good coffee at the lobby, rooms were very sharp clean bathroom and shower also fridge microwave coffee machine in the room big screen tv the remote had a few problems.
I'm in room 401, it's spacious and comfortable. It's really a nice king sized room. The only problem is that the wifi constantly drops. This is my second evening with the same issue. There is just enough bandwidth for emails but that's about it.
I booked a 4 night stay for my elderly aunt and uncle (visitors to Toronto) and mentioned that they needed a room with a stand up shower and 2 queen beds. Muhammed (front desk) understood the requirement and confirmed that an accessible room would be provided which had a stand up shower. On check-in, we found out that although the room has been marked as "accessible" in the system, it did not have a stand up shower. In fact they did not have any accessible rooms with 2 queen beds and a stand up shower! To make a bad situation even worse, Jessa (front desk) was extremely rude when we voiced our dissatisfaction with the room and in fact suggested that the couple (80+ years old, and just off a 15 hour flight) go to a different hotel and she actually said that she "didn't care"! Best Western is this the customer service you provide??? Muhammed as at least, was calm and relatively professional about the situation, but Jessa portrayed how inexperienced and unsuitable she is for customer service. We are waiting on Jerry the hotel manager to remedy the situation.
Needs a pool but they said it will be ready in July 2019. I hope so becuase I would like to stay here again. I liked the bathrooms, the sink, the shower, the tiles. I liked the lobby and the computer, the breakfast was excellent, the coffee was DIVINE. I haven't had coffee that good at a hotel in a LONG time.
Room was pretty big. It was clean and had a pretty big fridge (for a hotel room) and a microwave. Breakfast was included and was pretty decent. The parking lot is a bit small, but free so that's good.
On short notice I made a reservation with this property and from the time I called to the time I checked out I had great service, The room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast meal was good as well with lots to choose from. It's 1 minute off the 401 and easy to get too..
We chose the Best Western because of it's proximity to the Toronto Zoo and Yorkdale Shopping Mall in Toronto ... and were delighted with the facilities and the service. When we're vacationing in Toronto again, we would definitely consider staying at this hotel again.
everything was great, breakfast was simply fabulous!! Fridge in room froze our food, but we didn't realize it was set so cold until it was too late. Pool was closed for renos, but gym was open. Room was clean. Huge pillows which is a must!
The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, only issues I had were I wasn't I formed that the pools and hot tub were under construction and my a/c was not working, it was hot the the room. The staff did go out of there way to help with making my stay amazing.
If your looking fora great place to spend your vacation ..Best Western Hotel is the Best place you can be assure to enjoy every minute . Great rooms beautifully maintained Bus transportation 2 mins walk. So heading to Toronto make it to BEST WESTERN HOTEL .
It was a great place to stay despite the sad occassion. The staff seemed to go out of thier way to make our stay as pleasant as possible. The location was central to everything important to us.The consierge wea able to direct us to restaurants that would accomodate our large group and turned out perfect for all concerned.
We went to reserve 20+ rooms for weddings guests in the fall. The front desk staff called into the back office and said someone would be out in a few minutes. She invited us to have a seat. We waited 35 minutes. During that time no one came out to explain the delay or offer any indication that someone would be speaking with us. At that point we told the front desk that more than half an hour was too long to wait and we would try somewhere else. If this is an example of customer service then I don't want my guests staying there. I'm shocked that they aren't interested in the thousands of dollars in revenue they could have made.
The overall service at this location has steadily decreased. The rooms are fantastic, well cleaned, and very comfortable. However, we have started to explore other options for when we are in the area. Luckily there are many other Best Westerns to choose from.
The rooms are very nice and cozy but please avoid the free breakfast, it has a terrible, low quality selection and the coffee is the worst I've ever tried. Decent stay though in a good location where tourism thrives.
This hotel have the best breakfast options. Bagel, muffins, eggs, fries, cereal, pancake with topping options, 24 hour real coffee maker in the lobby. Staff are great and friendly and it seems like you have known them all your life. A must to check in hotel in scarborough.
Stayed there after a long day at the ontario science centre with the family great service and very clean . Everything is a short drive from the hotel like the scarborough town centre if you looking for a restaurant.
Jerry and the staff at this hotel worked with my team to make it a great experience. From our first contact, he worked diligently to ensure our team was well taken care of. The hotel staff and amenities were fantastic.
I was very comfortable staying here. Nice and clean and minutes away from the freeway. Very friendly and helpful staff. A special ‘Thank you' to Jerry for helping me out with printouts I needed. However I was expecting a higher end hotel as I have stayed at other Best Western Plus hotels which. were a couple of notches better than regular ones. This one sure wasn't.
We stayed one night as we were in town for a competition. Over all the hotel was clean and very welcoming. Staff were friendly and went above and beyond to make sure our stay went well. The room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. The only issue upon booking we were not told the pool was closed for renovations (although I am certain that it will be very nice in the future) The continental breakfast was delicious and well stocked.
Awesome location with good price, easy to get on to Freeway, Very friendly staff to assist, good quality of breakfast. We as family got this property to stay for one night, we thoroughly enjoy during our stay at this property. We will come back to this property to stay next time, we highly recommend this hotel to anyone.
We attended a conference nearby and decided to stay at this hotel. The outside looked professional, there was plenty of complementary parking outside - a lot located directly in front of the hotel. Easy to get to from the 401. Booking online was a cinch. We were welcomed by the front desk staff, who were extremely helpful and congenial. We were asked if we wanted an express check out in the morning the next day - which we did! I would not have remembered this as we were going to be leaving early at 7a the next morning and it was appreciated that we could do this swiftly. We stayed on the second floor, the room was very large and suited our needs perfectly. It was incredibly clean. No bugs or mold anywhere! (Something we check immediately) two double/queen beds which were super comfortable, and a sofa bed was included which we were able to sit on. There was also a small mini fridge. The bathroom had a standard shower/bathtub combo and a very large counter. A hairdryer was also provided. Kennedy Commons shopping centre wasn't far away so we popped into the Metro grocery to grab a few items. Upon returning to the room, we decided to have dinner at The Keg, which was a short walk away from the hotel. The Breakfast was awesome! A good buffet with a sound selection of items. I eat “low carb” and there was a good choice of eggs, bacon and breakfast sausages while my hubby had some toast, fruit and cereal. Something to suit everyone's needs! We will definitely stay here again when in the area.
I've visited Toronto / Scarborough area 4 times this year, and have stayed here every time. Was a convenient location for my business trips. They had some renovation going on early in the year, but now its all done and has an improved look. Great service, very friendly staff, and good value.
Staff needs to be trained in customer serviceFront desk checkin with Julia was great but check out with other staff was confrontational and rudeHaving stayed at many Best WesternThis location was terrible
My wife and I recently spent 3 nights here at the end of a 2 week road trip around Ontario. Very pleasantly surprised at the generous, well decorated and maintained room, excellent bathroom, and general cleanliness of the hotel. The staff were enthusiastic and welcoming, and nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast was as expected, with a good choice of hot and cold food, sufficient to set one up for the day. You know what to expect with BW Plus Executive Inns, and this one did not disappoint. Would stay here again.
Stayed 2 nights, so handy to my location and close to 401. Front desk staff was outstanding - friendly, helpful, efficient. This is my 2nd or 3rd time staying at this particular property, never disappointed. I like the fact that it is a smaller property - easy and quick to navigate. Room was very clean and well appointed.
Our one minor mishap is that we requested two queen beds and they were out. But they upgraded us to make up for their mistake. Food was good, staff was attentive. Breakfast was fresh and we had a few choices. Lots of parking. We had an enjoyable stay.
We only stayed one night but we were very happy with the location and the size o the room. The bed is a little bit too soft but we like hard bed at home. The only negative point was the wall between the rooms is thin. We had the misfortune of having a very noisy neighbor who likes to played his music very loud. The bass drum was very annoying. The front desk was very helpful at fixing the situation despite the neighbor being very rude ( he hang up on the front desk attendant when he called him to ask to turn down the music). Breakfast was standard with toast, bagel and waffle. But it was included in the price so it's a plus.
We stayed here one night and found it to be as expected for Best Western. Large, clean room with comfortable beds. Pool is under renovation so thought the price was a bit high but no complaints otherwise
Great hotel. Recently renovated, rooms very clean and bedding comfortable. Staff extremely friendly, professional and helpful. Hotel has good location, easy highway access, close to fine and fast food restaurants, nice breakfast room with a wide choice of foods. Highly recommend as it is now my hotel of choice when in Toronto. Always a pleasing experience.
Easy access off 401, and relatively quiet. Parking is somewhat limited. Great for east end Toronto. They also have full size pillows which seams to be a dying trend in 2018 lol. AC worked well and good water pressure and temp.
An excellent functional place for a short stay. Great hotel in a very good location near 401 road and easy to get there. The room was big enough for 5 persons Very good staff. Good WiFi in the hotel, the dining room is a bit small and crowded depending on the time. Wish that the swimming pool was ready.
An excellent functional place for a short stay.Calm location close to highway 401.Proximity to Scarborough Town Centre.Short distance to University of Toronto Scarborough campusPlace is clean and fresh
When booking reservations i asked if they had a pool and was told yes, Meanwhile its SHUT DOWN until Christmas. The front desk staff is very rude and judging. The breakfast had a terrible selection. There was only 2 hot foods there and they weren't even cooked fully. I have 7 more appointments coming in Scarborough, The front desk staff ruined it for me to ever re-book at that establishment.
Great hotel in a very good location near 401 road and easy to get there. The room was big enough for 5 persons Very good stuff. Good WiFi in the hotel, the dining room is a bit small Very recomanded hotel.
The hotel was quite far from Toronto's city centre, and the traffic is pretty intense, no matter the time. The hotel itself is nice and clean and the room spacious with a nice bathroom. No safety deposit box though. Parking also available. Breakfast room was really small, and during our stay there was long lines, as well as lack of space to sit, as the breakfast room was very small for the size of the hotel. The staff was very friendly and helpful.
The room looked nicely renovated. The bathtub was outdated along with the tiling. The pool was closed during our stay but that was not mentioned on the website which was disappointing. Although you're right next to the highway you don't actually here much so that was nice. I like the area that it was in because it was close to the highway, but the road it was on look like you were driving by factories.
Perfect place to stay at a reasonable rate. Clean and courteous environment. Overall excellent service and quality. The staff is very friendly and met with my needs instantly which made my stay very comfortable. I will recommend it to anyone without hesitation.
This was the first best western I had ever stayed at and I had mixed expectations but my 4 day stay at the best western plus in Scarborough was very nice. The staff wasn't great and the breakfast room was crowded and had mediocre and pre made food but the comfort and cleanliness was great. The location is fantastic because you are close to downtown and shopping centers and Canada's Wonderland and much more. One more complaint I had was the wi fi was really bad and slow but overall I would recommend if you want a hotel outside of downtown.
I don't think this should define the chain overall. we chose the hotel for its reputation, location and value. however in this particular instance, we were underwhelmed. the room was two double beds instead of two queens. we used online check-in option, but either the system was down or the person who could access the system was away, so we had to check-in again. the restaurant was on renos, so there was no dinner or room service. breakfast was served, but given the circumstance it was also not up to the standards. everything else was fine. clean, neat.
Hotel was very nice, even if under renovations did not disturb our stay much. Room was very nice . For the amount we paid and reserved a executive plus room for 5 people they could have provided enough towels and shampoo for each person. Had to share 3 towels between all of us.. Staff was ok but not very friendly or helpful. The best part was the breakfast which was a nice selection and got us off to a good start the next morning
Positives. Friendly staff Will look nice when it is finished Comfy bedroom Not so positives At the time of my stay they were renovating but there was no bar or restaurant and breakfast was in a small room, crowded every morning with food served in paper bowls and plates and with plastic cutlery. Limited menu with eggs that had been kept warm for so long they had lost their flavour. I queued to get a seat every morning and always had to share with strangers. The hotel could have at least used real cutlery! The journey to Downtown Toronto took me an hour and 10 minutes each way by bus and subway so not a good location for tourists. The pool was also closed at my time of stay
The reception staff were friendly and welcoming, nd the room was good, clean and modern, and quiet even though it is next to the 401 motorway. It was undergoing some renovation though which is the reason I have to give it an average mark. Breakfast was a pain, in a small room, as the main one was under restoration. The staff in there could have been more attentive to the food as it was running out and they were slow and eating and drinking coffee themselves. The pool was also closed. Other than that it was great, and I am sure will be when the workmen have left.
This hotel was located right off the 401 so was easy to get to. They are currently doing renovations, so the breakfast room was very tiny and couldn't fit everyone. We ended up eating in our room since it wasn't too far. Breakfast was tasty with a good variety. Hotel room was new and clean and recently renovated. Parking and wifi was free. it's a good hotel for a quick stay.
We chose this hotel as it was only 20 minutes from dinner downtown Toronto and we wanted to avoid the horrendous traffic congestion of Toronto as we were traveling eastward. Te breakfast buffet was fine, except the coffee that was dispensed from an automatic machine tasted very strange, with thick goo at the bottom of the cups! Our room and bath were clean and comfortable.
No closed with no notification, no discount for any inconvenience. I feel like I didn't get my money worth. Breakfast was decent for a hotel breakfast. Room was decent but found several pieces hair in my bed on the first night, smh. Friendly staff. Location was nice, about 5 minutes away from the Scarborough Shopping mall/Walmart
Other than the no notification that pool was closed it was fine breakfast was good. No discount for lack of pool which was a large part of the reason we booked here in the first place. The needs were like concrete. I should have sleep in the floor it would have been softer
this hotel is recently renovated and updated inside out. swimming pool is still closed for reno. clean and comfortable room. friendly staffs and helpful. quiet neighborhood with gas station, convenient store, mcdonald's and the keg in walking distances. the keg is closed for renovations at the time I was there May 2018. this hotel is just off highway 401. central location to Scarborough and Markham. recommend for everyone.
I stayed one night to be close to a class the next morning, and the room was beautiful, clean and modern, the bed was comfy, the TV reception good, and they had everything you need for a longer stay like a sofa, desk, coffeemaker, microwave, ironing board and hair dryer. The renovations were not a disturbance, except maybe the breakfast room was on the small side and got crowded fast. The pool was still open so I checked it out. A bit small, but there was no one else there at the time. The hot tub was set at 104F, a bit too hot for me. Too bad they don't have Jacuzzi suites, that way customers could set the temperature to their liking. I was on the 4th floor and the sound from the highway exit did not disturb me at all. I didn't have time to sight-see, but I saw a few interesting restaurants and shops nearby. TTC transit system busses are nearby as well if you don't have a car to get around. And most importantly, the staff were very friendly and professional despite going through all those renovations. I will definitely stay there again next time I am in that area.
Room at the end of the hall was apparently the place to party. Loud music all night which normally isn't a big deal and wasn't the problem. The Marijuana that was being smoked and filled the hallway was the issue, the girls dance group we were with in the hotel said something to front desk, but nothing happened. Party still kicking when we went to bed around 12:30. Next day at 2:30 the hallway still smelled.
Although we knew renovations were being done, there was little impact on our stay. Room was like brand new, and well stocked. Bed was very comfortable. Heat/air condition worked flawlessly. All hotel staff were pleasant and happy. Breakfast was pretty much what one would expect. GREAT STAY!
Friendly, caring, professional staff newly renovated, very clean. rooms nicely decorated, beds of high quality, comfortable, nice amenities, good breakfast assortment great location, easy highway access Highly recommend
Although going through an upgrading phase this hotel is one of Toronto's best kept secrets. Wonderful professional staff, clean rooms, great breakfast. Clean and very well managed. We have stayed here twice both week long stays with 5 large Bouvier Service Dogs, proper documentation opens all doors. The staff enjoyed seeing the dogs again as much as the dogs enjoyed seeing the hotel again. The room for us was perfect as was the price.
We stayed here as it was close to a wedding venue we were going to. I had read some reviews that said the rooms were nice and renovated even though they are still renovating. So the room we had was sort of in between. The room itself was nicely decorated and renovated but the bathroom had stains from the caulking and construction. The walls appeared to be unfinished. Which I understand and was warned about but I honestly feel that with the renovations they should give price reductions. It was very expensive. The breakfast was typical hotel breakfasts. Waffles, yogurts, boiled eggs, turkey patties, scrambled and omelet patty eggs. I honestly wouldn't return until renovations are complete and would likely opt for a more affordable option. Staff was polite enough no issues there.
We arrived around 6 pm from driving about 5 hours away with our 3 month old son. We went up to our room to find multiple stains on our bedsheets so we called down to the front lobby to ask for our sheets to be changed to clean ones. They asked us to go down to the lobby to retrieve the sheets on our own and change the bed ourselves. Annoyed but we complied. When we got the new sheets, we went back to the room to change the sheets and they were the wrong size. tried to call down to the lobby 5 times and no one answered. We went back down to get new sheets. Were given new sheets and went upstairs to change bed again. This time there was no fitted sheet for the bed. Getting super irritated, I went down to talk to the staff about this experience. The front desk staff then upgraded us to a king suite. We packed up the baby and multiple bags and proceeded to the new room. Opened the door and it had not been cleaned from its last stay. Bed not made, garbage on floor, towels on floor. This time the whole family went downstairs, including baby. We were given a double queen room as a replacement. It was alright - however the room door was broken and slammed shut every time it was opened. At check in we were told breakfast was severed until 10 am, we showed up at 9:31 and were told they were closed. The staff who said that must not have known the time as it was served until 9:30 on weekdays after asking. The next day we expressed concerns with management who gave us a discount and upgraded our room which did make our stay a little better however it took us 2 hours the first night to even get in a room and settle down and then get food at 8 pm after a 5 hour drive. Not impressed at all! Also - be aware of construction in the hotel. Loud and smells like varnish.
Hotel was undergoing construction during our stay so the breakfast was crammed into a small room with not enough seating and the room was too hot with all the food cooking. This will likely improve once renovations are complete. The vending machine on my floor as was also out of service. The exterior of the hotel and the room itself was very nice. The bed was extremely comfortable! Check-in was a breeze and the gentleman at the counter was very pleasant however I was not pleased with check-out. My check-out time was at 11:00 a.m. At 10:30 a.m. I received a call to my room rudely telling me that check-out it as 11:00. I told the man on the phone that I was aware of that and that it was only 10:30. At 10:45, I went to the lobby to obtain a luggage cart (which they did not have enough of). While in the lobby, two hotel staff were at the front desk arguing about whether or not Room 211 (my room) had checked out yet. I approached them and told them I did not appreciate being rushed out of my room prior to check-out time. I have never experienced this at any other hotel and thought it was rude and not great customer service.
Hotel is just off the 401 with recently renovated rooms. The lobby and breakfast room are currently under renovation and almost complete. Rooms are clean, comfortable and have everything needed. Even though the hotel is close to the highway, i found the rooms quiet. Hotel also has a pool and fitness room. Breakfast is provided and fairly extensive for an included breakfast. The temporary breakfast room was very cramped and crowded. Hopefully the renovated breakfast room will be much larger and better laid out. Found the rates are a little high for this area.
We spent 4 nights here. There was some construction going on, but we were not inconvenienced in any way. Staff were pleasant and dealt with us efficiently. We liked the fact we had a pull out couch because we have three children and many hotels do not have rooms for us. Breakfast was great and the breakfast staff were eager to help with any needs. Internet worked well and consistently. The fitness room and pool were also important for us and more than met our needs. Location was also good for us - not far from family and not far off the highway. There were also a couple of restaurants and a gas station nearby even though we didn't need to use it. Very happy with our stay.
Have been staying here off and on for over 5 years. The hotel is under major renovations but they are as friendly and hospitable as ever. The Best Western Executive Inn is just off the 401 and conveniently located for travelling around the GTA and Toronto.
The location was super convenient to the zoo and aquarium that we'd wanted to visit. Awesome value, and the parking lot itself was nice. They're doing some construction work but it didn't interfere with the stay at soa. Really considerate staff that wanted us to genuinely enjoy our stay!
Great location right near the highway 401. The hotel lobby is having renovations done, but we had no problems. The Keg restaurant is a few minutes walking distance. Breakfast was ok, did not get to enjoy the pool and the gym, hopefully nest time. Lots of parking. Staff was great.
We booked on booking.com; there was no mentioning of the hotel being under renovation; the temporary breakfast room was way too small for the number of guests; there was very little room in between tables; the baked good were stale.
Even with major renos happening this hotel is still great! Dane and Rupert again, were so friendly and welcoming. Breakfast. parking, gym were all used and no issues. My room was very clean with fresh, new linens.
The room was immaculate. This is a well run Best Western, although the hotel was going through major renovations my stay was great. Quiet at night even though you are right by the highway. The housekeeping and front desk staff are all so friendly it makes the stay that much better. If you are coming to Toronto for business or family on the east end I highly recommend this property. To get downtown off peak, its about 20-25 minutes.
Stayed here for a week and it was fine. Service is good, breakfast is ok. The beds were very comfortable, the staff was great and the hotel clean. The location was good for what I needed it to be. Would not say it's excellent but is better than average but not excellent.
We stayed in this hotel during a basketball tournament. The manager Jerry Vidal was great and was very accommodating and trying to help us ensure we get a good price for our booking. The rooms were clean, beds were comfortable and pillows were awesome! we had a great 2 nights at the hotel and would definitely recommend this place.
stayed because it was close to work, average hotel , puddle of rust stained water in pool area but it was cleaned up rather quickly, nothing to terrible to complain about. bed was comfortable, it is close to many amenities, right off the highway.
Stayed at the Best Western Plus Executive Inn over Christmas while in Toronto visiting family. There was construction taking place but that did not deter the great stay. Close to downtown and right on the 401. The room was clean and spacious. I would definitely stay again.
Excellent Stay. nice quality. Quite place. Excellent service. Excellent breakfast. Great area and will continue to visit if needed. Rooms were great. Excellent maintenance. Great location. Overall we enjoyed the stay
I recently stayed with my daughter who was attending a swim meet at this hotel. Having been in three different hotels over past month, this one was definitely the best and worthy of a positive review. Despite renovations thru-out common areas, the service was exceptional. The morning breakfasts provided amazing coffee and many healthy options for atheletes. The breakfast room ladies were attentive and caring. The work out room was clean and machines functioned well. Parking was free and easily attained. I highly recommend this hotel for quiet, comfortable and modern rooms. It was a pleasure to stay at this location.
Great room, well appointed and immaculately clean. Breakfast was varied and wonderful. Rate I felt was a bit high, but overall a fantastic property and fantastic location! Scarborough Town center right nearby and easy access to the 401.
Family stay for two nights in late December, while biking up at Joyride 150. Pretty good location - 20 minute drive, but straight up Markham street. The good: The breakfast staff were great, promptly re-stocking items and cleaning the breakfast room. Breakfast was pretty standard and probably identical to the Holiday Inn Express next door: waffle maker, cereal dispenser, breads and a few hot items. Our second floor guestroom was very quiet and recently renovated. Check in staff were friendly. The bad: There was a clear lack of attention to detail when it came to cleaning. There was hair left around the bathroom sink, and crusted on liquid at the side of the bedside table - it could have been a milkshake at one point, or worse. If you slept with your head facing the middle of the room, it would be right in your face. The ugly: The pool was frankly disgusting. We were there for three days, two nights, and the same sunflower shells and hairballs (seriously - my cat would be jealous) were on the pool deck. It obviously hadn't been cleaned during those three days, although the towels were occasionally replenished. The sauna looked like there was mold on the floor by the heater, and the floor grates by the windows on the pool deck were so rusty, that anyone walking over them in bare feet would have cut themselves. The overhead pipes need a good coat of paint to keep the rusty water/condensation from dripping onto the tiles below and causing stains. The hotel was undergoing ground floor renovations, and maybe that kept housekeeping staff too busy to pay any attention to the pool area. I don't think it needs renovations, just a proper cleaning. Also, the hot tub was probably at the highest temperature I've ever experienced in a hotel. It was awesome (but bordering on a safety hazard) - definitely well above the sign which said it was 104F. I don't think we'll be staying here again - the kind breakfast staff could not tip the balance away from the very poor housekeeping.
Over the last few years whenever we overnighted in Toronto, it would be at Best Western, except when there was no room at the inn. The cleanliness, service, and breakfast have always been beyond criticism. Attendants have always very courteous. Rooms are very quiet. Have always enjoys my stay here.
The location is really good, right close to the highway and easy to get to places. The parking in front tends to get full pretty quickly. Thankfully, there is more parking behind and the free parking is definitely a bonus. Check in was pretty quick and the room is clean, modern and spacious. We enjoyed staying here for the three nights we were here and the free breakfast had a pretty good selection! The jacuzzi, sauna and pool was good to go to after a tired and long day. The day we went, it was really quiet and empty and a couple joined us for the jacuzzi but still maintained the tranquility of the place. The reception staff was very nice and accommodating which we really appreciated. Only thing was the housekeeping tended to be forgetful and we had different instances where they cleared the towels but did not replace new ones (one day was bath towel, another was bath mat). Nonetheless, I would still return as the reception staff and the breakfast area staff all made up for it. An absolute delight to stay here. You can also obtain free hot water from their 'coffee machines'.
This is our second stay at this hotel this year. While the hotel is under renovation it does not not impact the quality of the stay. This hotel is situated close to the TPASC . so if you are looking for a good place to stay close by this is it.
it was an urgent stay at this hotel for my family, but met all our needs, amazing pool and great breakfast, the rooms have all brand new furniture, good internet service, the location was close to all
We stayed after landing in to Pearson. Front desk people were lovely but we had a non working heating cooling unit in out room. No window to open to get fresh air. The lady did come up to try get it going 11pm but it was short lived. Too late to move rooms by then we were to tired and it was not offered in the first place. So no sleep after long day of travel then to have no hot water in the shower. Warm at best. Elevators were also not working that morning so we had to lower all our luggage down a big flight of stairs. Besides that place is clean and rooms are nice. Sad we lost our money there for a night of no sleep.
We stayed 2 nights - Lobby of hotel is undergoing a complete renovation which meant the pool was closed during our stay, elevators not accessible for 1 morning, parking reduced due to roof reno at same time. Room rate was comparable to others in the area, it should have been reduced - the reno's were not detailed at time of reserving & downplayed at check in.
The room was clean, comfortable and quite despite the Kids sports team that occupied the rooms around us. The breakfast was good. The in room wifi signal was the best I've ever receive in a hotel, great for streaming.
I stay here about a total of 3 weeks per year. Just look at my other reviews for this property! They are undergoing a first class renovation / update and it never affected me in any way. The hotel was getting a bit dated and I am sure they have done most if not all of the rooms. They're currently updating the breakfast room and the temporary room is very nice. Julia on the front counter is amazing and I tell management she is one of the reasons I keep coming back. The location and accessibility are excellent with a lot of shopping and dining options close by. Surprisingly, it is at two main streets (Markham Rd and the 401) but I have never ever had an issue with noise from the traffic
Very clean and friendly place to stay . Will use as my hotel to stay at for future trips. Best value for my money. Very clean pool and hot tub. Breakfast was good. Close to everything I need. Free parking is great as other hotel do not offer that.
This BW is very well located, close to STC and 2 minute walk to The Keg. Also easy access to the 401. No complaints, clean, quiet, good breakfast, easy parking, comfortable beds. Been there before and will stay there again.
Great place only complaint is the Maintenance request to fix the non-working Air Conditioner in room after three days still no repair guy came and no other available rooms never got fixed. Also no Windows to let in some fresh air on top of that so air was very still and hard to breath. But 1st floor offers some rooms with windows i believe ....If there available.
Not a bad location right off the highway. They are currently under construction and it could look much nicer but over all the stay was fine I will stay again. Room was clean and bed was very comfortable. Overall no complaints about my stay.
We were very impressed with this hotel. Our room was lovely, pleasant and helpful staff, and a decent breakfast. We would definitely stay here again. Great location right off the 401. Worked well for our trip to Toronto.
Stopped here at 500am local to get a few hours sleep before heading on to Ottawa. Reasonably priced. Very clean, even though there was some minor renovations. Overall I was very pleased. The breakfast was good (for being free).
Since its opening I have frequented this Hotel many times a year. I have found in the past two years as my visits have dwindled so has the hotel environment. Iam not sure if it is because of the staff turnover or what ever but it's not the same. I switched Hotels years ago because of price when this property became available however I now find they are pricing themselves above other nearby locations which I do find disapointing and find myself more often now seeking other locations.
Couple of friends and I enjoyed our one night stay at this nice Hotel. I am a fan of BW and this one did not disappoint. We attended a Hockey game and left for Montreal the next day. If I was staying longer I might want to be a little closer to downtown but this location was convenient for our visit. The staff was great and getting a cot for our room was no issue. They were under going some renovations but this did not effect our stay. I would definitely consider this location when visiting Toronto.
Everything was excellent. Great hotel, friendly staff, loved the amenities. Everybody was very accommodating to our schedule and needs. I will definitely stay here again and I highly recommend this location to anybody looking for a great stay.
We arrived from the airport in the evening and retrieved our booking from two friendly gentlemen. When we went to our room we were surprised to learn that there was no room safe, but two fridges and a microwave which we would never use. The rooms are very spacious and comfortable and also very quiet. They were making alterations to the ground floor when we were there so we had to use a temporary breakfast room that became very crowded. The breakfast was self-serve and all we had was Styrofoam cups and plates with plastic forks. The food left a lot to be desired for the price they were charging. We were awoken one night by a rumpus on the corridor but was quickly dealt with by the management. We were there on a weekend when two football/hockey teams were staying (all boys). For some strange reason, they all had lunch including the adults on the corridor and the mess they left surprised us. All in all, I would probably use this hotel again as they seem to have good staff working there.
Stayed a few years ago and had a far better time. This time, although the room was fine, we were kept up quite late thanks to a group of pre-teen girls running up and down the hallway screaming until midnight. We were on the ground floor, within earshot of the front desk, and yet nobody asked them to quiet down (and/or they and the parents were quite rude and inconsiderate to other hotel guests). Swam with my daughter in the pool, it was cut short by a woman who brought her (approx 8-10 year old) child into the pool who vomited A LOT right in the water. (astonishingly the woman walked the vomiting child out of the pool rather than lifting her right out immediately-this is not the hotel's fault but rather speaks to the ignorance of some people). We got out immediately and went back to our room to shower; but on the way did stop at the front desk to notify them, expecting they would want to close the pool (as is required by the health department). ....The pool did not get closed at all...I checked a few times that evening. Breakfast was decent, nothing special. Likely we will not return based on this last visit.
Convenient location for our trip. Great breakfast options, nice pool and hot tub to enjoy after a busy day. Construction within the hotel did not cause any problems. Never had any problems with parking.
This was a family trip and we stayed two nights and stayed in 3 rooms. We had 3 couples and 6 children. The front staff was very friendly and welcoming. They had prize for all the kids which was a great start to our trip. The breakfasts were good although the room could be a bit bigger with more tables. They did let us know that if we arrived before 9 there should be room and there was. The hot tub and especially pool were a great hit. The chlorine smell was quite strong but it usually is in public pool. It was nice and close to the 401 and the zoo. Had a very nice stay.
The hotel is in the middle of updates so the hallways are a bit cluttered but the rooms are lovely and the hotel is quiet. For some reason, we had two fridges in our room but no safe, and I sort of expect a safe in hotel rooms nowadays. Otherwise, the room was modern and the bathroom was very nicely updated, bright and clean.
I stay Monday till Friday for almost year for work and I really enjoy my stay in that hotel. Even though they're going though a major renovation, the hotel is a decent shape. The stuff is nice helpful.
The room I stayed in had problems with the air conditioner. I complained about it and they said the unit needs to be synced and it should be ok. It worked for a few hours after the cleaning person synced it, but continued to have problems. It was very hot and hard to get a good sleep. The TV remote had many buttons that did not work.
Stayed at the Best Western Plus Executive Inn, Estate Drive, Scarborough, Toronto between the 10th – 15th September 2017 and returned 18th- 21th September 2017, with my partner for a city break in Toronto. The first thing that you realise about this hotel is that is some distance from the centre of Toronto, although it accessible via the Toronto Underground System (the Toronto Transit Commission or TTC for short), you have to go to McCowen Station (which is the last on the line) and either walk, it's a 20-25-minute walk or get a Taxi (Taxis are C$ 7-8 dollars, which at the time of writing this was £4.21-4.81). This hotel together with the Holiday Inn, located next door is on a light industrial estate to the east of Scarborough Town Centre, so it is a curious mix of hotels, wholesale clothing warehouses, a Toyota distribution centre, a gym, a Keg Steak House and a few religious buildings (Jehovah's Witness etc), and a few others, it is a strange mix. Anyway, we arrived at the hotel 3-4pm on the Sunday, after a long flight across the Atlantic, all we wanted to do was have a shower and freshen up and was met by a guy at the counter who was trying to explain to two American ladies, that their room wasn't ready (although he was making a very bad job of it and didn't appear to have a clue what he was doing) they had just driven up the deep south in the US, so they'd had a long drive! So, my first impressions weren't good, I thought ‘we're in for a wait here', just at this point another female reception staff appeared, and she did know what she was doing and we were checked with the minimum of fuss, leaving these two bemused ladies at the reception. First impressions of the room were good, for the first week were on the fourth floor, at the back, now it is bordered by a Freeway at the back, and the view wasn't great, but to be quite honest although you could hear (very faintly) the traffic, it wasn't intrusive and we didn't have any trouble sleeping. The room was a reasonable size and very well equipped, with a large flat screen TV, (with a reasonable selection of TV programmes in English and French, both Canadian and US) fridge, microwave, tea/coffee machine, (tea & coffee, cups, but curiously no spoons or milk), sofa bed, coffee table. The bathroom was a good size, with a good shower over the bath with lots of fresh white towels (which were changed daily), shampoos etc and a hairdryer. The room also had air conditioning, and although the fan was a bin noisy it was actually very good. The room did have Wi-Fi but never used it so can't comment. After a dip in the spa pool (which very hot and very nice) we had a shower and a freshen up, we then went out to the Keg Steak House for something to eat, which is a five-minute walk from the hotel and is very good! In the morning, we went down for breakfast, now this is very thing start to go a little bit wrong. First impressions are not good, the breakfast area is very small, only about nine tables, so it gets busy very quickly. There is a good selection of fruit juices, yogurts, boiled eggs, cereals, tea, coffee, toast, pastries etc, but the cooked food leaves a lot to be desired, there's very little variety (the hotel only rotates what they serve every two days or so, so you get the same things time and time again), the food is bland and tasteless, (in the end we stopped going for breakfast the second week) and worse of all they only have paper plates and plastic cutlery. On our return, the second week (we went for a weekend in Montréal) we had a room on the ground floor, which was identical to the one on the first week, so no problems. I would describe this a as a middle range hotel, the price paid was good, but it's a trade-off between the distance it's from downtown Toronto and price. If you stayed in downtown hotels it's a lot more expensive. This hotel has good facilities, the pool was good, the spa pool was excellent, it has a sauna and a gym (didn't use either so can't comment, but they looked good), the room are good and well equipped, staff are helpful (especially Eira on reception, we left a large bag at this hotel whilst we went to Montréal for the weekend, and we checked out late at 12.30pm the second week, all at no extra cost, all arranged by her, excellent!) One point we both really liked is that there is a tea and coffee on tap 24/7 just at the side of the main reception, this was a really good idea. What lets it down is the breakfast, firstly paper plates and plastic cutlery I can only describe this as shocking, I've never been anywhere is the world where this is done, secondly, they need to do something about the cooked breakfast food, as previously stated it's bland, tasteless and poorly presented (There is a waffle machine, which I did try once). Lastly, would I recommend this hotel, not sure is the answer to that, it's got a lot going for it (as previously stated), but the breakfast situation lets it down, if they make some effort with that that, it would improve the situation 100%, and you really need a car, the distance from Scarborough Town Centre really is a bit too far. Things to do and see in Toronto, firstly the Keg Steak House (next door) is worth a visit, not the cheapest, but it's very good and service is excellent, getting around on the TTC is easy, once you've worked the pricing systems which is a bit complicated certainly at the beginning (I would describe it a cheap and cheerful), we got a return ticket in and out of Toronto which is C$ 6 dollars each. Toronto Island and the CN Tower is also worth a visit. There was some building work going on there whist we were there, (on the ground floor) but I have to say never heard them, and saw one workman on the last day, that's all !
Clean hotel. Breakfast was the usual hotel type thing. I was on nights and had a hotel employee wake me up on the second day because apparently he doesn't know what a do not disturb sign on my door means.
Our family visited in mid September and were impressed with the Hotel. the hotel is clean, located centrally near the 401 highway. the staff are excellent, supportive and willing to assist. the breakfast and the Wi-Fi were very good and the hotel is recently renovated. Parking is available at no charge and coffee/tea available all day. Certainly refer this hotel
Excellent location close to Hwy 401 at Markham Rd in Toronto. The staff was very attentive, our room was huge in comparison to most hotel rooms and comfortable. The breakfast was adequate and certainly lots of variety available. A most comfortable stay with an excellent sleep. Highly recommend. We have stayed there before and would again.
10 stars is an amazing hotel made me feel comfortable every time i choose this hotel. I went to different locations, all of them the same, the one on Muskoka i like the best, the Jacuzzi the area around is amazing.
We stayed here because we were planning on going to the zoo. It is close by and easy to find. While we were here, the hotel was experiencing renovations, but it in no way hindered our stay. Staff was friendly and helpful. Kids loved the pool. The only down side we experienced was the dining area for the continental breakfast was a bit too small for the guests staying. It seemed everyone was there at the same time and so space was limited. We ended up taking our food back to our room to eat which was a bit of an inconvenience.
Could not log on to wifi, super slow freezes at login screen. Room was comfortable and clean and had good amenities. Big shower with lots of hot water. Breakfast was mediocre at best. Typical hotel food. Pool and hot tub are excellent. Easy to find and lots of FREE parking, which is great because other hotels in area charge a fortune for parking. Overall mediocre value for price charged. Stayed in better, and stayed in worse.
For it's price and location, our stay at Best Western in Toronto was excellent, the staff were great from the breakfast, cleaning staff and the registration. The breakfast was great and the staff went out their way to take care of us.
I knew that this hotel was undergoing a facelift when I made reservations to stay here. But the good reviews won me over. First impressions, though, are very hard to overcome. First we had a hard time finding the hotel because the sign on the building was down for replacement (I guess) and the street level sign was facing the other way from the way we came in. So I had to ask reception to make sure I was in the right place. The lobby was small and uncomfortable. The gentleman who checked us in was friendly enough and told us that our room had recently been renovated and to let him know how we liked it. So the five of us trooped up to the room. Going to the elevator was dark and cramped. Getting out, I honestly wondered if we were in the right spot. We had to walk past workmen putting down carpet, there was construction dust, and new carpet/paint smell in the hall. Our room was indeed done - but not well. The new carpet did not go all the way to the wall in a couple of places, there was some skirting board missing, but most disturbing was the white powdery dust at the bottom of three of the walls and onto the carpet. The same powder was in the fold out couch and along the bottom of the beds boards. We didn't know what it was, so we called the front desk to ask. A gentleman came up and looked at it, told us he didn't know what it was either but not to worry about whatever it was. To be fair it I suppose it could have been construction related, but it also looks like something you'd put down to get rid of bugs. The mattresses, which i always check first thing upon entering a hotel room, were the most questionable I've ever seen. We really almost walked out. In the end, we didn't. Breakfast, on the other hand, was terrific. It was not a comfortable stay, and it will be a long time before I try staying there again. PS. I drove by more recently and the signs on the building are replaced.
We stayed here for 2 nights while visiting the ROM and Toronto zoo... The building was under construction when we arrived... This really did not interfere with us much , more like a nuisance .... The breakfast was ok ...The breakfast room was small, but manageable... The only thing we disliked was the $150 damage charge to my credit card ... I am sure that people have damaged rooms in the past , but to unfairly charge everyone in case, they do something or stole something from the room ... I well just wrong!
After a long night, it's nice to go and enjoy a relaxing breakfast. This BW has anything but that. The dining area is very small and fills quickly. There are no staff to control the flow of traffic. The line I was in was created by the guests, but other guests who didn't want to wait in line easily walked past the line and entered the room with no regard for those waiting in line. Consider the Holiday Inn Express which is also nearby.
Overall, this property worked well for it's proximity to the Toronto Zoo, the Asian restaurants in Scarborough, and access to downtown. However, due to limited breakfast room space, you had better be an early riser to avoid major congestion.
It was a very good hotel to stay in. Affordable and clean with many amenities, the staff was wonderful, friendly and professional. Breakfast was a bit hectic so we generally skipped it. I would highly recommend choosing this hotel, a very pleasant stay.
This location is being remodeled...signs everywhere to excuse an noise or mess. We walked into a renovated room...beautiful...bathroom...stunning! Then we tried to flush a toilet...doesn't want to flush....shower...$20 shower head and water rising in the tub as you stand in it. The great pillows don't help if the mattress is terrible and they are terrible!! Unfortunately, to make our whole stay complete the cooling system kicks out and our room is 26 degrees, or almost 80 from midnight on! I could go on but I won't because it's still an old hotel that the "lipstick and mascara" remodel isn't going to improve your stay!
Nice place, even under reno's. The bed was like a rock, might have been more comfortable in the chair, pool is out dated needs reno's there too. Good location for going to the Zoo, Jack Asters just around the corner.
VERY BAD EXPERIANCE Stay away, rude staff, the room carpet and sheets had stains and the bathroom door handle was broken. Lots of noise in the hall after hours which the staff did not respond too. Watch where you park, there is construction debris littering the parking lot.
We chose this hotel since it was close to the Guild Inn and the 401. It was a good price and not noisy due to the proximity of the highway. I was impressed with the renovations inside the room. Loved having a couch to relax on, and a nice bathroom to get ready in. The breakfast was pretty good and you could make your own breakfast sandwiches. It was a small room but they recommend the best times for a less busy breakfast experience if you're willing to wake up a little early.
The room was very clean and confortable. The staff during check-in was very polite and took the time to answer my questions in a friendly matter. The breakfast was great, very nice options. Easy access to the hotel from the highway. We will stay at this hotel on our next trrip to Toronto.
I was room was never properly cleaned. First day we told them not to clean it as we came back in the afternoon and room wasn't cleaned yet. Second day they decided not to clean it without any explanation. Third day room was partially cleaned and our bed wasn't even touched. We found a strange note on one of the beds: " We could not make your beds because you had your personal belongings on the bed. Our policy states that we can not touch your personal belongings". There was an iPad on the pillow on one bed and a small purse ( empty and closed) on the other. I have stayed in many hotels and never encountered such policy anywhere. To makes matters worse our TV never worked and we were told that nothing could be done as the maintenance crew only works on weekdays .
Part of the hotel under contraction and for staff it is not easy period. But they doing good to give quality service each day and night. Thanks to all off you. I hope after renovating all rooms you could fast repair pool area as well.
The Desk Staff and Manager promised repair of the TV, that didn't happen. There was a noisy party in the hallway after midnight - in earshot of the Lobby - no response from the Front Desk Staff. There were no gluten free options for breakfast and the exercise equipment was broken or worn and sparse.
The hotel was nice, and it had just been in the process of remodeling. But the staff was exceptional! I would return just because of the people. The people at this hotel make the difference! Very helpful, seemed genuine & interested, and kind.
The hotel was great and served our needs. The staff were very pleasant and courteous and did a great job. The rooms were very nice and had all the things we needed for our stay. Only bad thing was the hot tub was broken and it was not going to be fixed until after we left. Breakfast in the morning was great and again staff did everything to help us enjoy with lots of hot food. Nice place to stay.
Professional , friendly staff. Suited our needs for an overnight stay . Convenient to the 401. Very clean . Range of breakfast foods . Some upgrades / construction during our stay . Did not affect amenities offered .
The hotel has just been renovated. The room is very spacious and looks like new making our stay very comfortable and feel like staying in a 5 star hotel room. The complimentary breakfast has good spread with smart presentation. The receptionist was very helpful fixing our air conditioning issue.
We stayed here as a family so we could do some exploring around the Toronto area. Check in was quick. They had maps of the Toronto area on the counter that showed the locations of some nearby attractions. Overall, our room was clean and we had no problems with anything in it. While it was next to the highway, the noise was not noticeable. Breakfast was plentiful and enjoyable. The pool was a little cold for being heated but the hot tub was heated perfectly and quite big compared to other hotels I've stayed at. We also had no problem at check out. Overall, I would stay here again if I were venturing to the Toronto area.
Excellent for Grandparents travelling with young grandchildren. Pool and breakfast setup were greatly appreciated. The location is relatively close to the Toronto Zoo and easy highway access. Location avoids the worst of central city traffic.
Great stay. Clean and friendly service. Will be staying there again this week coming. Under construction currently but this did not interfere with our stay at all. Handy hint, if you love bananas take them while they are out as they are often replenished but often out too.
A recently renovated hotel with very friendly staff. The hotel is located very close to major highways and everything is near by. Free breakfast has the usual items like eggs, sausages, waffles, good varieties of cereal and yogurt, fruits, tea ,coffee and juices.
Close to 401 and restaurants. Pool & hot tub nice. The hallway on first level was in dissaray due to renovations. Drywall dust on carpets etc. Did not affect the comfort of our room. Would stay here again.
Words cannot express how impressed I was with with our most recent stay. The last time I stayed at at BW was approx 10/15 yrs ago and it was a horrible stay, that's why I never returned. Gave it another chance this time due to great pricing I found and boy, did it deliver! We were four adults, room contained 2 Queen-size beds and a sofa that pulled-out into a sofabed, 2 mini-fridges a coffee machine and bedside lamps that also had mini-lamps that attached to it for midnight reading. The highlight was the breakfast! Manned by two hard-working Filipino ladies who work tirelessly to ensure the food is always replenished (as per other reviews, the breakfast room does run out of tables/chairs so come before 9am), but the selection is hard to beat: yogurt, diced fruit, hard boiled eggs, a make-your-own waffle machine with condiments, selection of breads (brown/white/multigrain sliced bread and bagels, pita, mini danishes and croissants and muffins, varying sausages by the day (flat or rolled) and eggs (scrambled, sunny-side up, cereals,etc...). Located outside the breakfast room were two coffee stations where the coffee is specially ground for your cup, and I really appreciated that to-go cups with lids were available with milk/creamers that are ALWAYS replenished with crushed ice on top. Only imperfection was when we checked in, we were missing a whole bunch of towels (only provided one set) and a blanket and when room was made on the 2nd night, housekeeping forgot to replace our towels again). Oh--and they need to crack a smile a little more often. Overall, thanks Best Western Plus Executive Inn for changing my mind about the BW brand. I will request your hotel name for my next hotels stay! :)
We brought the kids to see the zoo and ripleys. When we got to town we did ripleys first then went to our hotel. The hotel we booked was a rat whole. We cancelled our room there and was stuck with no hotel. We checked online for deals and saw we were close to The Best Western Plus. They found us a room. Gave us a few deals. Pretty much turned our trip around. Our second day we went to the zoo which was only a short drive away. The kids enjoyed the indoor pool there even though it was chilly as they are used to heated pool. Hotel is a short walk to The KEG which was awesome. This is a great place to stay if you want to go to Toronto. My suggestion is do what you want downtown Toronto first as it is about a 45 min to Ripleys.
Travelled with kids and grandkids...great pool area...breakfast and very nice rooms. Had two rooms....both great. Staff very helpful and knowledgeable about area attractions. Second time staying..will always book here.
Go train made easy access to CN tower, Aquarium and Jays game. (20mins away) Avoided all the hassle of Toronto driving/parking! We were not sure about staying so far out when booking. The Keg, easy walk next door for dinner first night arriving. Staff very pleasant and helpful with figuring out transit. Hotel itself was comfortable and good value, we felt. We had a quiet stay(in our room), despite a very full hotel - Canada Day - and appreciated that! Location worked well for our needs. Would definitely do again.
The room was renovated and comfortable and the hotel was quiet. As far as that goes, all was good. On check in I asked for late checkout Sunday (pay to stay until 3pm) and was under the impression that this was no problem. When I followed up on Saturday, I was told that there was no option to stay that late but that I could pay $75 to have the room an extra hour (till noon). At all the BW hotels I have stayed at, I have never seen such a cash grab. $75 for an hour?? Usually an hour is considered late check out and is free if available. While the hotel itself was nice enough, I will not be returning.
I reserved my room through BW Central Reservations on-line. I reserved a room with a spa tub. When i saw my room, I thought it was the wrong room. But hotel staff said that spa tub rooms were eliminated a year ago. But this was a reason I chose the room. I was told the manager would contact me but he never did. Also, there were mildew stains on a pillowcase and a light switch on the desk lamp malfunctioned. Still, I created a viable experience for myself in the space and enjoyed my stay well enough.
Came down for a weekend to Toronto with the kids and spouse. Picked the spot for its convenient location (close to 401, local amusements), it's pool (our kids are easily amused!), and the breakfast that is included (I'm easily amused, too, especially by waffle makers!). Our stay was generally pleasant (we ignored the peeling wallpaper and odd state of partial-repair in some places, knowing they were renovating). It was only after we received our credit card statement a month later to find that we'd been charged an extra $150 to cover repairs to a chair. After following up with the front desk staff, I was sent an image of thin black marks on a chair seat that was presumably from our room (see photo). No other explanation was provided, least of all why it would cost $150 to remove marks from a chair seat. I contacted BWI customer-service officials, who also did no budge on the issue. This was our last stay at a Best Western Hotel. Hilton-here-we-come.
We stayed here on a sunday night after a Blue Jays game. Chose this hotel because of its close proximity to the Toronto Zoo. Got a very good rate for Toronto. June 2017 they are still renovating. We knew this ahead of time and it did not affect our stay. Microwaves and fridges in rooms. Beds were firm, plenty of pillows. Nice clean indoor pool area also contained a hottub, sauna, lounge chairs and patio sets. Very close to 401, we were not disturbed by traffic (but we always bring a noise fan to hotels with us). Very good full breakfast in the morning from 6-930am is included. Complimentary coffee in lobby was really good.
Good place to stay close to McDonalds and a Keg, both within 5 minute walks. Rates howevver are starting to creep up, original rate quoted was 171 which would be over priced. Location is out of the way but close to the Toronto Zoo and Scarborough Town Center where the Subway can be accessed.
they welcomed us at the door!!! the staff member in the morning was greattttt! very helpful! we had to leave Ramada plaza downtown, it was in a bad place to start and I couldn't get my money back from hotels.com so we looked up better hotels and found bw and it was great, good location
Good service, room clean. Good location. Ppl are friendly 1 hrs to naigra falls 30min to the Toronto city, Close to bus station restaurant and many more. The breakfast ok. The pool and sauna are great.
I was in town on business and had been booked in to this hotel. There are many rooms that are being renovated, but I was lucky and got a renovated room on the top floor (4th floor). There is a rather off-putting Oder in the hallways from everything being so new - but that will dissipate with time. The room was amazing. I had a King bed, a little work desk, a fridge, a microwave, and a TV. The tub/shower was good, and hot water was almost immediate! The pool was nice - although I found it a little cool despite the sign on the wall stating that the temp is regulated to 80F. The hot tub was great! Good jets and not too hot - very relaxing. Breakfast was good too! Real protein!!! Sausages, and sausage patties, mini omelettes, had boiled eggs, cream cheese! Coffee and Tea are available 24 x 7 just off the lobby - and they even had my sweetener - Sweet & Low! That also had Splenda (God only knows why anyone would want it!). There is supposedly renovations going on and there can be noise from 9 to 5. I never heard any noise that would have disturbed me. Not even the 401! The windows isolate you from any outside noise! And the air conditioner in my room absolutely ROCKED! It is controlled by the thermostat on the wall. While I was in Toronto there was a heat warning! The temp was 34C and 39C "real feel" with the humidity! I set my A/C at 19C - and it worked! I was cool as a cucumber and had a great nights sleep! And the Wifi worked well too. About the only negative thing was the computers in the "Business" center. About all you can do is browse the web and open an MS Word document. I am a sysadmin and when I tried to use Logmein, I could not install the logmein client. Also, I could not create a VPN connection to my work. Nor could I access the full complement of Windows 7 programs and features. The machine is so locked down that it is effectively useless for all but the most rudimentary web browsing. Very disappointing. Other than the "business" computer, this really is one of the best hotels I have stayed in! I would stay here again in a heartbeat! (although I would bring my own laptop next time!)
The room was very spacious and luxurious. I stayed over for my friends wedding and were there for 6 nights. The staff was amazing and very helpful. Brilliant internet connection. In addition to this, couple of computers were situated by the reception for customers to use. Staff were very helpful. A truly amazing stay. Near by you can find "The Keg" and couple more restaurants/take out.
Hotel suited my needs. Appreciated the breakfast availability. Staff friendly and helpful. Practical set up that gave me what I needed. No time to use the fitness centre but valued the fact that it was available at decent times.
Hotel was under renovations, but the room was renovated, comfortable and nicely laid out, except that the couch needed a lamp beside it in order to read. There is a pool, work out room, computers with printers and free wifi. Free breakfast is good. Waffles, fruit, breads, cereal and hot items, etc. Rooms were clean, hallways were being renovated but it was clean, just not 'pretty' yet.
Our stay was amazing from beginning to end. My family and I stayed here for 7 nights for my wedding. The staff were so helpful and polite and went above and beyond there remit on occasions to make our stay memorable. Breakfast was also great with lots of good options.
Very nice hotel pleasant staff great rooms great location very clean and well maintained was there one night only but will be back again very soon thanks for the great night and easy check in and out you won't be disappointed
Lovely clean rooms! Excellent, helpful staff. Amazing breakfast! Went above and beyond the standard continental breakfast of any hotel. Pool area was nice and water temps were good! Would stay here again!
I have stayed at least 2 to 3 weeks a year over the last 15 plus years at this hotel. It is my choice when I am in Toronto and never let me down. Some of my earlier reviews suggested the hotel was due for an update. They are well along in getting it completed and while there are signs letting you know of a possible noise issue during construction I never once experienced any at all. I did see the workers so i knew they were there. My room was spotless and the breakfast buffet is one of the better ones you will get in a BW Plus. The front end staff is really good as I was having an issue with my credit card as it was not swiping. They got it solved. Julia who works during the daytime is exceptional and when I would get her a coffee in the morning she was even more bubbly if it was possible. i have 2 more trips this year and I will be staying at this conveniently located hotel if you have a car. If not, there is a bus route and a huge shopping mall nearby.
Location: One mile from Scarborough Town Centre, where there is the obvious shopping (including Walmart), and many chain restaurants. One mile from the McCowan Subway / RT station. Right off the 401, so much so that there is a slight drone from the traffic noise in the room (our room was in the middle of the building on the East side, so your results may vary). Although the noise did not wake or annoy us in any way, call it "white noise". Parts of Estate Drive (which this hotel is located on) are quite "industrial" in nature and the road is used for heavy truck parking. We didn't have any issues other than the trucks blocking a lane of the road while driving. Luckily, Estate Drive is just a short circle off Progress Ave. There really is no "green space" to be had nearby except for the ball park located on the Toyota Canada property about a 1/4 km away (unsure if it's even public accessible). Check-in: Very quick and efficient with a wonderfully courteous staff. Took about 5 minutes with license plate number in hand. Rupert was a joy to deal with. He made such a great impression on my wife and daughter that, with each night we returned to the property, they hoped he was working the desk. Room: Our room (319, King bed and sofa-bed) had been recently renovated and the entire property is in the midst of renovation. We barely noticed any signs of active renovation, although we were not on property during stated work hours, except for the yet to be painted walls and the hallway carpet that looks to be the last item to be replaced for obvious reasons. The updates are fantastic, plenty of charging outlets, plenty of flat surfaces (a rarity in some hotels), a good sized TV, TWO refrigerators (not sure why), and a brightly lit and well ventilated bathroom. I applaud the choice for tiles/grout in the bathroom, a grey motif with grey grout that doesn't lend to showing stains that I would rather not see ;-). We did not make use of the in room coffee maker. Beds were very comfortable and the perfect firmness. Pillows were a little thin, but we have yet to come across a hotel that can accommodate our pillow needs, call us snobs :-) These pillows were better than most. We did have one issue when we went to initially enter our room. The lock was having a mechanical issue as the light would turn green, but the lock would not unlock. When I reported this to Rupert, he happily came up to the room with me, and on that try, it worked...go figure. So I chalked it up to "user error". But alas, that was the last time we unlocked the room for the night and the next morning we still had issues that were not "user error" related. It would take 4 or 5 attempts to get the door to unlatch. So I again reported the issue to the front desk, and the nice clerk apologized and said she would log the issue for maintenance, who were not on duty on the weekends, and offered a replacement room. With all of our "stuff" already spread out, we reluctantly decided not to take up the offer and the problem persisted the next two days to our fault. Amenities: Pool area was above average for our expectations and complete with a couple of patio tables and lounge chairs. It had a nice vaulted ceiling that allowed the room to be sufficiently ventilated from the pool chlorination. Sauna was a nice bonus, nothing like sweating the days' stress off! Hot tub was hot and soothing with plenty of nicely pressured jets. Both pool and hot tub were crystal clear. I'm a pool snob and know the signs of a "sick" pool / hot tub, these were not. We did not use the fitness room, who works out on vacation?!?! A personal rule of mine...NEVER. Breakfast was average for this category hotel. We've had better quality food at a competitor chain. There was the usual yogurt (with assorted toppings), waffles (make your own of course), buns, breads, cereals, meats (only sausage), eggs, fresh fruit, fruit juices, and acceptable coffee. The "average" part is due to the meat (sausage patty or links depending on the day) and the cereal, they just didn't quite suit our tastes. Although the cereals were labeled "Kellogg", I can attest that there was no way they were Kellogg. The Fruit Loop rings weren't even the correct shape, and the Raisin Bran (my favorite) wasn't even close, let's leave it at that. I will make mention that the waffles were quite tasty! Overview: A well situated hotel on the outskirts of Toronto proper, very near mass transit and only a few hundred feet from a bus stop on either end of Estate Drive. Both the outside and inside of the hotel are under renovation and from what we can see, the renovations are polishing this hotel nicely. Once done, this hotel should sparkle for the next few years. None of our issues (room lock and a "so so" breakfast) were a deal breaker, and with a courteous and attentive staff, we will keep this hotel on the list for future T.O. visits. Pirate approved.........ARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!! and.........GO LEAFS GO!!!!!
Newly renovated rooms! Amazing attentive service. Facilities very clean. Loved that it had pool, sauna and whirlpool. Will be returning again for business and pleasure. Great for anyone with family. Breakfast buffet excellent! Wish more seating but if you bring tray from room then you can eat in comfort of your hotel room. Wish check out was noon but not a deal breaker. Location is actually pretty decent. Half hour from downtown Toronto if traffic decent but could be longer during peak times.
Reception personnel were very friendly and helpful. Room was well laid out with useful options such as fridge, microwave, Internet service, etc. The location is good if on business and just wanting a comfortable stay. Very good restaurant (The Keg) within walking distance.
I stayed for work, it was a quick check in and check out. The room was nice and clean. I had no issues at all. The hotel was under renovation but I never heard anything from the workers at all I will stay at this location again when I am travelling in the area..
Needed to be central to Scarborough to visit family, see the old neighbourhood and be a short distance to downtown Toronto without paying a large price - this hotel hit all of those requirements. Size of room was great for our family; bathroom was large and clean; bed/pillows were comfortable for us. Parking was onsite and included as well as free WiFi. Breakfast options were simple but more than ample to get your day started and not be charged extra for it - especially nice to have hot options available. We were on the highway side of the hotel and didn't hear ANYTHING from the roadways. Very pleased about that - slept right through the night. Awoke refreshed and ready to start our day. Lots of hot water and water pressure, fans in the bathroom, charging stations (lots of them), more than we expected at a very reasonable price. Would highly recommend this hotel to travellers. We stayed for 4 nights.
I found the staff to be very friendly and accommodating. We were allowed to check in before 3pm. My husband was tired and wanted a rest before dinner. The accessible room was very large and person in a wheelchair can move around very easily. Room was very quiet and had a very restful sleep. Everyone had a warm hello in the morning and very willing help with our luggage if needed.
Staff are friendly and hotel is clean and is easy access off the highway. Staff were accommodating when I asked to switch from a king bed to two queen beds instead. I have no problems recommending this hotel to others.
Nice atmosphere, nice lobby, our room was large, the location good and easy to reach and everything was nearby. Staff were helpful and friendly, fixtures in the room- and the bed were very good. It was quiet as well.
Hey it was nice staying there. All great. Clean room. Bathroom fully renovated. Beds were comfortable. Nice pool area. I would definitely go back. Just the carpet in the hallway was looking old. Other than that I cannot complain. Mark
overall the stay was nice the place,a bit of paint at some places would help. the hotel sims as if they are starting to be modernizing. the room was nice clean and very ok breakfast was ok and did the job.
We stayed for a night at the Best Western Executive Inn in order to be close to the Toronto Zoo. It was very close, easy to drive to the zoo in the morning. The rooms were clean and comfortable. We were able to have our family of 6 in a room with 2 beds and a sofa bed. The kids enjoyed the pool. Despite being close to the highway, it was a quiet room.
It was a last minute decision to stay overnight in Toronto before our visit to Sunnybrook Hospital. We were glad we chose this hotel. The gal that registered us was Tania. She was friendly right from the moment we stepped through the door ... and continued to be professional and friendly when I questioned as to why I could not get the BWP Member rate as a walk-in but if I were a CAA Member I could get a special rate as a walk-in. Thank you Tania, you handled yourself like a pro and resolved the situation very quickly (and I will reserve online next time!) Christian, thank you for your telephone call ... you also were very friendly and professional and I appreciate that you personally reached out to us. The desk staff at this location are wonderful. The room was clean, comfortable and large. The pool & hot tub were clean and refreshing. The breakfast (which was included) included hot and cold choices and was good. Great job hiring and training your staff Jerry! We would definitely consider staying with you again when we visit Toronto!
Easy access just off the 401. Professional staff and very clean room. Hotel itself is very clean. Very good breakfast which is included. Free parking always a plus. Very good experience. Will be back whenever we are in Toronto.
Pool and spa were closed when we arrived for our relaxing vacation. Failed to notify us of this emenity closure prior to our arrival. Took our $ and ruined our vacation. Would have been nice if they had notified us so we could adjust our plans. No such luck!!
excellent customer service, staff are very friendly, just need little improvement for breakfast, the way it is cooked, i stay in that hotel many times for work reason but other than that everyone at that hotel is amazing
I had a good stay, was staying 1 night only. Corridor carpets were in between a change, wallpaper partially teared as the hotel is getting refreshed. I would prefer hard flooring vs current carpet. Ventilation was a little on the noisy side but I had a good sleep. No complaint, well priced hotel.
over all i was satisfied, i like the place and the service is good, staff are knowledgeable, very friendly and customer service amazing, i wont mind to come back and be guest again, but for personal stay, its king pricy for me thanks
Clean and modern rooms, undergoing updates now. Good morning breakfast. Nice comfortable beds. Close to college. Would definitely stay at this location again. Was welcomed warmly. Staff friendly and helpful
Stayed at this hotel a few weeks ago and was pleasantly surprised with it. Rooms were clean, had a good free breakfast, free parking and free Wifi. Staff were friendly and responsive to your needs. Good highway access but not much around, so a car is handy.
I drove into the parking lot and a group of people wouldn't let me go by and started tapping on my windows. This was around midnight so not sure what they were doing in the parking lot. Eventually I was able to park without any other issues. Staff at this hotel are friendly and the rooms are clean.
Stayed overnight here on an anniversary get away, we took the Ontario Science Center package. The room was located on the 4th floor at the end and was a very comfortable room except for the highway which was by our room. Noise level was great only time we heard anything if a truck blew its horn. Beds were comfortable, shower/bathroom great, lots of hot water. Would return here again. Only complaint I had was the breakfast and that was only because the hotel was sold out and when going to the small room for breakfast it was so busy there were no seats available, we had to bring our food and drinks back to the room. The scrambled eggs were like rubber but I believe it was because it was the very last scoop in the tray. The girls were working very hard to try and keep up with the demand but it was near impossible. Would suggest perhaps getting a bigger room available for when they have a sold out hotel night. I would definitely return but would hope that they either had more places to eat and more readily food available. Hats off to the girls for trying so hard to keep everyone happy....
Staying at the Best Western Plus Executive Inn has always been a GREAT experience... The staff are alway smiling and happy, the facilities clean and orderly, the Coffee Station always had creamers on ice and the newspaper in the morning ( I am sometimes a very early riser). The swimming pool is always clean and well stocked with towel, and enough chairs and loungers for the pool area. :)
We stayed in a room on the ground floor. The room is clean and the bathroom looks like recently renovated. Complimentary breakfast with plenty of selections that vary each day. It would be more environmentally friendly if they reduce the use of disposable plates and utensils, or use compostable alternatives instead. Pool, spa and sauna are great for end of day relaxation (we wish they remain accessible until 11pm). In room mini fridge (without freezer) and microwave a plus! Our mini fridge was noisy at time. Easy access from Highway 401. Since the hotel is located in Scarborough, it took us about an hour of driving to get to downtown Toronto in the morning traffic. Evening drive back to hotel can be done in about 40 minutes or less.
Right off Hwy 401 in Markham, but traffic noise cannot be heard, Large well furnished rooms made the stay very comfortable The hotel's Reception staff were efficient & pleasant. as were of staff at the Breakfast room, We'll come again!
My mom and I stayed here last night in room 418. I was about to go to sleep when I felt something move across my arm. It was a bed bug. A quick investigation found at least THREE bugs. I went down to the front desk (the in room phones did not work) and asked politely to get another room. I kept my voice down since there were two people behind me waiting to check in. I used to work at the front desk of a hotel myself and I had some sympathy. Rupert, who was working that night, told me he did not believe me, they had never had bed bugs. I said "There are, I caught one in my water bottle, would you like to see it?" and he said "Yes, bring it down." Ridiculous. I'm not going to walk through a hotel with a bed bug. I said he could come and see for himself. At that point, he walked away from me, completely ignoring me, and answered TWO phone calls at the desk for reservations. Finally, he came back and said that while he still did not believe me he would give us another room. This is absolutely the worst customer service I have had at a hotel. I travel often and have stayed in quite a few other Best Westerns this year. This was a horrible experience. IF you decide to stay here, do not accept room 418 and please check your bed for bugs before you sleep. As the reviewer from two weeks ago confirms, this is not a one time problem. The front desk agents in the morning were very sympathetic and helpful.
I stayed here one night with my family. It was a decent stay. The bathroom was recently renovated and the entire room looked well presented. We did stay on a night where the hotel was sold out (we were going to the Toronto Zoo) and recognized a lot of faces that stayed at the hotel the night we did - since it is about 12 min away. The hotel staff was a little overworked that night at the front desk as there were a lot of people asking questions You had to exercise a little patience. A few things to note: - we had to get towels for the pool from the front desk. Usually they are in the pool room. - the breakfast, while included was not that great. The scrambled eggs tasted like they were buttered and the sausages were very salty. There was a lot of selection though so it compensated for this. Since they are going through reservations, you will notice if you stay around the same time as us that there are piles of supplies in the stairwells. You need to take care in this area. Otherwise, a clean hotel and courteous staff. Great hotel on a budget. I would stay here again.
Stayed 2 weeks because of family matters. Staff was very attentive. Great location. Breakfast was a nice variety. Tried to stay again 2 weeks later and they were booked up. Had to stay at another hotel, wasn't the same.
We were there Sept.30th and Oct1st.The rooms appeared newly renovated, and clean. There were 2 Queen size beds in our room with plenty of pillows. Check in and check out was quick. Front desk staff were helpful. Breakfast was provided, but the quality and presentation could have been improved without costing more money. There is a coffee machine near the entrance and 2 computers for use by guests. The Keg restaurant close by was quite good.
The property shows wear, and an unobservant management, but it was fine esp. for the price until my wife had bites on her arm which were very swollen and itchy, and our doctor identified the bites as bedbugs. There is nothing we hate worse than the thought of bugs in a hotel, so never again.
Was in town visiting relatives. Hotel was average overall. It was undergoing renovations during the time of our stay. Pool was being worked on and unavailable that week. The carpets in the hallways were noticeably threadbare and worn. The room was average; had a mini-fridge (could not adjust temperature setting, but it did keep our food cold enough) and a microwave. Our room had two double (or queen, not sure) beds and a pull-out sofa. The AC unit was adjustable by the thermostat on the wall, and we were able to keep the temperature to our liking. The bathroom was nice; easy to tell it had already been through the renovation process as the fixtures, tub/shower walls were very clean and updated. Standard breakfast offered in the morning. I would stay here again, since it was close to our relatives. Would likely enjoy it much better next time, assuming the renovations are completed.
I have always enjoyed staying in BW hotels and make a point of choosing them where ever possible while traveling. My trips are frequently planned so that we can stop in the Cromwell hotel in Canada and will now include a new one near Toronto.
It's hard to believe that in 2016 big chain hotels are still using disposable cafeteria items. There's a sub-par breakfast in the morning that I can deal with. What's harder to stomach is the lack or proper cutlery. EVERYTHING'S PAPER and PLASTIC! THE plates, the utensils, the cups, and bowls. All the jams and milk are wrapped up ready for the land fill. I can understand have a to go option. But with everyone sitting down to eat, it is hard to swallow.
The hotel is average. Nothing overly exceptional. Can't complain. Hotel includes breakfast which was good but does not offer any type of milk for child to drink. Check out was quick and easy and was a surprisingly quiet location.
Hotel is very clean and well maintained. It is located steps form a Keg restaurant and is one minute to the highway. One of my favourites in East Toronto. The hotel has a swimming pool and it has a well stocked breakfast.
Took family to Toronto to visit friends, go to Zoo and Aquarium. Great location, perfect pool for all ages, very clean and comfortable. Staff friendly and efficient. Will stay here every year when we vacation in the future.
Pros: Pool, Sauna and hot tub were OK. Location is great if visiting the Metro Toronto Zoo. Good size fridge in room but no freezer. Just east of a large shopping district. Cons: The King room we had, had a useless uncomfortable sofa bed that wasn't even good for small kids. The air conditioner couldn't be left on when sleeping because it was so noisy. Tired worn out carpets, out of date furniture, quasi clean bathrooms, and not enough towels. The breakfast was OK but the dining room is too small. Every other Best Western Plus is MUCH better than this place but I guess it is what it is for the price in Toronto.
We had a good stay here while visiting Toronto. The room was large and had enough room for our group. The pull out sofa was uncomfortable but the other beds were very comfortable. The breakfast room is too small and it is difficult to move along while not bumping into people also getting food or sitting at the tables. The hotel was fairly quiet (some guest need to remember not to stomp their feet or slam doors late at night of when they are up early in the morning.) We found everything to be clean.
Overall, not bad. The pool was a nice bonus and the breakfast was good. The rooms are in good shape and the beds are comfy. We went here to use up our airmiles and would likely come back again if in the area. Thanks to a great staff, especially the women in the breakfast room who were great with my kids.
# Rooms were ok. # Appearance and ambience were not good # Housekeeping was average # Location was average # Breakfast was good # Service was satisfactory # Pool and hot tub was a plus. Would try the next door Holiday inn express next time
Nice hotel, quite clean, very good quality of beds and linens. Nice simple breakfast, just need to improve the size of the room. I stayed there for more than 10 days and almost every day we needed to stand for a line to have table. Very friendly and Welcoming staff, specially Mrs.Julia and the guy from maintance. Thank you for all!??????????
We stayed at this place for three days during our high school reunion and after our Canadian tour. Their price is very reasonable and the place is very convenient. Need a little renovation and more room in the breakfast room. Carpets are worn out but staff are very nice and accommodating. They also have nice indoor pool and sauna.
I drove up from a long drive from Houston, TX I was greeted very warmly by Cheryl. She also help me find and book an appointment I was trying to get for a while. This hotel is lucky to have her on there staff. The room was very clean, the bath room had great hot water pressure and the Internet was ok. In all I would stay here again. Cheers!!!
Overall this hotel delivers for the price. Got a good sized room for a family of five with two Queen beds and one pull-out couch. Air conditioner did not work one night, but got fixed swiftly the next day. Breakfast room way too small during rush hour (8:30 to 9:30); prepare to have breakfast in the hall or in your room; very good Wifi and helpful staff. Although it is right next to the 401 highway, it is very quiet!
Interesting. Business trip. Nice renovated bathrooms. Really up to date. During our 4 night stay the hotel was fully booked by vacationers, usually with families. But it was very quiet all night in the hotel. Fairly crowded at breakfast but manageable. Decent and pleasant service by staff the whole trip even though they were fully booked. Internet worked at good speed every time I was on it. I can usually find something to complain about during a hotel stay but not here. And good price too.
Our stay was comfortable. Our room was large and the beds were firm and supportive. The included breakfast was delicious and filling. The hotel is being renovated but we suffered no inconvenience due to this fact. The laundry room was closed but we did not need it on this trip. I recommend calling the hotel before booking a room to verify that your preferred services are available. We stayed here last Christmas and we were very disappointed that the pool was closed. This time we greatly enjoyed our stay.
I booked a king/ jacuzzi spa room months ago...and prepaid on priceline. Arrive today with my girlfriend...and they don't have my room. They gave it to someone else. We have the reservation and details...all they said was "sorry, nothing we can do." Stuck in a tiny room and offered us NOTHING in compensation. Paid for a king room with jacuzzi and the won't even give us the difference. I have stayed all over, will never stay in another Best Western, especially not this one.
Excellent cleanliness; Excellent service; Employees are nice and really helpful; Rooms recently refreshed to the taste of the day; Average continental breakfast; Not enough room in the breakfast room : had to eat in our room.
I was very impressed by their free high speed internet service at this hotel. I got my work done quickly and without interruptions in bandwidth service. The staff at this hotel was friendly and quite efficient as my check-in/out was completed without delay. The room I was assigned on the third floor was spacious, clean and looked freshly updated. I liked that they provided a microwave in addition to a mini-fridge and a newer television in the room. If I had to provide a criticism, I would just say that while they did provide me with fresh towels daily, they did not replenish the coffee or shampoo amenities.
The value for the money is excellent. But what make this hotel a great place to stay is the staff, who are always helpful and pleasant. They go out of their way to do those little extra things. I have stayed at this hotel many time over the past few year, and the quality of the staff has remained a constant.
It is a nice place for family's to stay their pool is clean the rooms are nice (A Safe is Needed) Free Coffie in the lobby their is a gas station down the road and food around. The desk for working was large enough to work and eat on. If the room had better A/C it would be next to perfect
If you're new in town and looking for a hotel close to the Toronto Zoo, the Best Western Plus Executive Inn is a good spot. Decently priced with convenient parking, a nice pool and hot tub for relaxing after a busy day on the town, and great beds and linens in the sufficiently furnished rooms makes this hotel a great choice for your stay. The complimentary breakfast is located just off the main desk area and has a wonderful assortment that'll satisfy anyone's breakfast needs: waffle maker, cereals, eggs and sausage, juice, yogurt parfait station, coffees and teas, and various pastries. The staff were very courteous as well. If we were to come to Toronto again, we'd have to consider this place again for how convenient it was. Happy travels!
I stay there a lot because it is close to my office. It is clean, bed is comfortable and staff are pleasant. Wish they did not use such strong fragrance on their bedding. It is light years better than the Travelodge up the street! It is under renovations and the refurbished rooms are fine. Breakfast is average with hot and cold foods available. If you are a Best Western club member there are upgrade perks. If you can take advantage of the tourist offerings it would rate as very good.
This is in a good locality (of course it depends what your engagements are!) This is not just for Executives, but also for people enjoying their leisure, for sure! Saw a multi-cultural flavour on the day of my stay here (may be it was accidental). That was truly heart-warming and exciting!
My family booked two separate night packages (one for zoo and science centre), and found that the package deals made this hotel quite affordable. I don't think we would have chosen it if it didn't have these packages as we're always looking for a place that is affordable but also clean with a good reputation. The bathroom and shower was spectacular, the beds were so comfortable that if we hadn't set the alarm, we would have slept past breakfast. The pool was nice and the hot breakfast in the morning was great. The location is also great as it's very close to the zoo and outside some of the more congested downtown traffic. One small irritation was that because I booked two separate nights to get the package deals and called when I did to ensure we would have the same room on both nights, I had to wait until the next morning to check-in again instead of doing it all at once. Aside from that, the room air conditioner/heater controls were not responsive- although thankfully it was blowing at a perfect temperature. A few of the bed coverings were also a bit frayed or had slight stains on them that likely couldn't ever be washed out, so they could have been replaced. The room and bedding was clean, but the sheets were a bit old. Our room was on the first floor pretty close to the breakfast area and ice machine, and even though the hotel was packed it was very quiet.
We stayed here and thought everything was great. Walking distance to the train was great for getting to Casa Loma and downtown Toronto. The keg was within walking distance. Our room was clean and roomy. We would stay here again the next time we visit Toronto.
We stayed here one night while in Toronto visiting family. We arrived late and so were stuck in a room on the ground floor looking into the parking lot. The room was acceptable in terms of comfort and cleanliness, but definitely needed some updating. The breakfast was included and is what you would expect from a free hotel breakfast, i.e. not very good. We did like the fact that they had all the fixings to make breakfast sandwiches to go, although the sausage patties are the greasiest I've ever seen. We went for breakfast just after it opened and by the time we checked out around 9 am, it was a zoo and there was no food left. The front desk staff ranged from average to incredibly friendly. For the price I would probably not come back, especially since there was a glitch in my reservation and the price when I booked was not the price I was charged for my stay.
I realize it is under renovations, but the signs were up they started construction Dec 2015 4th floor then in 3 months move to 3rd etc. Well this is July and all that appeared to be done was the bathroom which was quite nice, except for the torn shower curtain, we were on the 4th floor. On our bed we had only a bottom sheet and it was ripped around the edges, no top sheet just a blanket, called front desk and was told all were like that. I said that was not acceptable, Reluctantly they said they'd bring another. When they did it was a grey looking sheet but seemed to be clean. Surely Best Westerns are not going to one sheet. I have never heard of that anywhere. The shampoo and conditioner seemed to have been used they were only half there. We managed to get into breakfast room as we went early, it seemed not to be layed out well because trying to fit too many tables into small room but when we were checking out, people were lined down the hall, but at least they had opened the meeting room to eat in by then. Cannot in all good conscience recommend this hotel, and definitely would not return.
Our stay at the Best Western PLUS Executive Inn in Toronto was a restful break during college visits to University of Toronto. The inn is minutes from the Scarborough campus and the Toronto Zoo. Our children loved the pool area and we all found the breakfast convenient and satisfying. The staff was friendly and extremely helpful. We will visit again!
We stayed here (my 2 year old daughter and my wife) from Monday July 4th to Friday July 8th. Excellent stay and I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again. Pros : - Very comfy bed. - Clean renovated room. - Spot on/ ice cold AC that isn't too noisy. - Very nice exercise room (although a little small). - Very nice pool and hot tub. Minors cons (for improvement) : - Pool water could be a little hotter. - Continental breakfast was good but could use a little more variety (bacon, ham, etc.). As I said earlier above, I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again. Prices were very reasonable and the service was excellent.
I was not happy with the tv turning off all the time and the pool had to must chlorine had hard time breathing and I had allergic reaction. I will not be staying here again when we come in two years. A/c was loud and sometimes to didnt cool the room down and the door had a big gap in it an you had to push door to make sure it closed right
I usually associate Best Western with being basic and decent enough for a comfortable night's stay but this place was beyond what I expected. For a start, I like the remodelled bathroom, which was bright and had a huge, lit mirror. The tub was small but it didn't bother me because I am a small person, and I don't usually take baths. The room was a good size, with a 2-seater sofa and coffee table, and another single seat sofa at the other corner of the room. Iron, ironing board and hair dryer were all provided in-room without having to request for them. The breakfast was a nice surprise, with a little variation between the two mornings I ate at the breakfast room. There was a good selection of different types of breads and pastries, eggs prepared in 2 different styles, and sausage patty on one day and mini sausages on the other. There is a waffle machine for you to make your own fresh, hot waffles. Cereals, fresh fruit and yoghurt were also available. There was a choice of hot coffee or other juices. I also spotted a coffee machine just outside the breakfast room that seems to work 24 hours, free of charge, although I didn't try it (When you are in Toronto, you hop out to a nearby Tim Hortons for coffee!) This is on top of the in-room coffee-making option. The complimentary parking was a big plus for me. Check-in was fast and efficient, as was checkout. I would definitely choose to stay here again the next time I visit Toronto!
My friends and I stayed for four nights at this hotel in May. We enjoyed every bit of our time there. The rooms we had on the fourth floor had recently been renovated and were perfect. The beds were comfortable. The breakfast room was very clean, cheerful, and made us feel right at home. The food was very good. Staff was very friendly and helpful in answering our questions. We were there to attend a Gospel Concert weekend at a nearby church, and were having a reunion with friends we had met three years ago on a cruise. We were not far from the GO train on which we went downtown to explore.
Checked Out today Morning, unfortunately didn't sleep much last night but I'm not blaming the room. The mattress was a little hard, we stayed in a room with a queen bed and a couch. The big no no is that the curtains let all the light come inside, so at 5am the room looked pretty bright, and I need darkness to sleep. Couch seemed really old. AC a bit noisy! But washroom looked modern and renovated. We had everything we needed. The pool was awesome. Breakfast was included but the danishes tasted old and not fresh, and they should have hot chocolate for someone that doesn't drink coffee. The staff was really nice and the fact that they are under renovations didn't bother us.
I chose this hotel because it had the best location and deal relative to the Toronto Zoo. It has been renovated and the room we had on the fourth floor was very clean and attractive. Noise was not an issue during our stay. The only downsides are that the pool and whirlpool are overly chlorinated to the point of making us cough, and the pool is unheated. Also, the continental breakfast is not one of the better ones I've experienced. However, my main concern in choosing a hotel is whether or not my family feels safe and comfortable at a modest price. This hotel fit the bill.
Stayed at this property from May, 19 to May 21, 2016. The hotel had been newly renovated and the room was clean and comfortable. Also large enough. The location was handy to Hwy. 401 and was in a nice area. The function I was attending was a 10 minute walk from the hotel and I felt safe even at later hours. Tim Hortons coffee shop nearby and shopping mall 1 minute drive west. Staff was courteous and helpful Overall an enjoyable stay. .
Hotel is going thru some renovations, our room was decent but we had an issue with the TV, hallways could have been cleaner. The hot tub and pool area was nice but the ventilation in this area was bad and was very chemically and hard to breath. No major issues and the free breakfast was decent with eggs and sausage. Hotel is close to the 401 but kinda isolated so no restaurants are walk able other then the Keg.
Simple and professionnal. Well positioned on 401 highway, easy to commute and good location if you need to visit customers in the north of Toronto. I was very pleased by the quality of the WIFI and internet connection.
We picked this hotel for the convenient location to our trip destination in Scarbourgh. The hotel is under renovations but this turned out not to be an issue. Rates were good and staff helpful. Morning breakfast was great. Housekeeping did not resupply all necessary items but front counter staff were extremely considerate. We would recommend this hotel without hesitation.
This chain of owner-managed hotels/motels has always provided excellent facilities and courteous service. I am well acquainted with this Inn as it is my preferred location when visiting Toronto, quite convenient to the 401 and yet not noisy at all. I have sampled similar accomodation for more than 25 years.
When travelling in this area I usually stay at this property. It is consistently a comfortable, clean, quiet venue. This is another of several reviews I have made over the years and it is always a quality venue.
A good value for money hotel. Easy to access from the highway. Room is Comfortable, spacious and newly-renovated. It has all needed amenities: coffee machine, microwave & fridge. Staff are courteous and helpful. Breakfast is somewhat mediocre without much of a variety, just basics to fill your stomach for starting the day.
The staff was incredible, and the room was clean. Overall great service. Julia at the front desk was particularly amazing. Everyone made us feel welcome. We would come to this hotel again for any future hotel needs
The room was clean overall except I found the bathtub a bit dirty, but overall the room was pretty nice. Comfy beds. Breakfast was not good. There was way too much chlorine in the pool that it made you cough and the spa temperature was way to high, to hot.
This is a excellent choice for business in the east end of Toronto close to motorways and a decent , array of ethnic food options. clean great staff.. and easy parking.. great for individuals or families travelling together.. movie theater close bye..
very convenient and accessible hotel, excellent quality, pool and spa very clean. Excellent breakfast and services. adequate nearby restaurants. Excellent stop-over back and forth from Michigan. Will come back.
We were 2 adults and 2 teenage girls and a 2 & 6 year old. We stayed on the forth floor with two Queen size beds and a pull out sofa. The beds were very comfortable. Not so much for the pull out, but bearable for our three nights. Our room was cleaned daily with a fresh supply of towels. The shower worked well and refills of soap and shampoo were replaced without asking. We had a mirco way and a fridge with a coffee maker, blow dryer, iron and ironing board. We didn't use the coffee maker because in the lobby there was always fresh coffee or tea available. We made use of the pool every night and the kids just loved it, including the little ones. The water was warm enough for them. There was always a fresh supply of towels so you did not need your own or bring some from your room. Breakfast was served daily from 6:00 to 9:30. It was the average fare what you find in most hotels, different types of cereals, scrambled and boiled eggs, different breads, muffins, and waffles, selection of teas and juices. The kitchen staff replaces the food constantly. The whole staff are very friendly and are there to help and wants to please. We enjoyed our stay and will come back again when in Toronto.
I have stayed at this hotel twice, the second time with my family for a citizenship ceremony. On both occasions the hotel was comfortable, relaxed and well presented. The reception and breakfast staff were helpful and friendly, and the room and breakfast were excellent. I would definitely return if in the area again.
Hotel room was filthy. Chairs were stained with who knows what. The walls were stained. Broken tiles in bathroom. Bathroom looked like it had not had a thorough cleaning in a long time. Rate changed from 110.00 night in Jan to 162.00 in march. Was told this is there summer rate as I was cleaning 15 cm of snow off my car. A reasonable rate for the room I had would be 30.00 a night. Management should be fired for allowing these rooms to be rented at all in there current condition.
Based on the "Executive Inn", I assumed I was getting a "business class" experience rather than "coach", but I was mistaken. Bathroom faucet leaked all over countertop, lighting in room was very dim, and had wireless connectivity issues. Overall experience was good, but not the great I was expecting from a Best Western "Plus".
When we booked our room for 4 days at this hotel we asked and was told that they had wheelchair roll in showers. We asked several times. We were aware that our last night there would not be a wheel in shower as all the rooms had been booked for that day. When we arrived and went to our room.. GUESS WHAT.. the bathroom had a bathtub in it. NOT A ROLL IN SHOWER. We went down to the desk and they told us that is all they had. We cancelled our last two nights. We in wheelchairs do need showers.. lol My friend who is not in a wheelchair tried to take a shower the shower head was broken and taped up and leaked so much so that there was no pressure coming out of the head but lots of water coming from the tape. When we checked out the ladies on duty gave us a 10% discount because of the shower head. I called the manager the following Monday and was told by him that their staff would not have made that mistake. well they did! He was not listening to me at all. I told him we travel extensively and would not have made that mistake. If they had told us we would have looked for another hotel. I informed him that I would be putting this on trip advisor and his response was go ahead. I called the head office and they said they would look into it. I have not heard but in all fairness it has only been 3 days.We always call the hotels directly to book we do not through any discount travel site or the 800 booking phone numbers as we have had trouble getting the right room. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE FOR ANYONE IN A WHEELCHAIR. THE STAFF WAS AMAZING (EXCEPT FOR THE PERSON WHO BOOKED THE ROOM and IN MY OPINION THE MANAGER) THEY WERE FRIENDLY FELT BAD ABOUT OUR SITUATION GREAT STAFF.
nice & good hotel to stay & relax, staffs are friendly breakfast must have more options for vegetarian, with some vegetarian food. rooms nice & clean. bathrooms amenities are also good. overall it was good experience to stay.
We found our stay here satisfactory. The room was clean. It was pretty beat up otherwise but that's what we expected after reading other reviews and given the fact that they are in the process of renovating the entire hotel. No noise complaints about the highway, heating/cooling worked well, beds were comfy and we had a good night's sleep. I was a bit shocked by the breakfast - I thought just about any hotel chain would've moved on from total disposable plastic cutlery/plates and cups. No recycling or reusing here, shame on you Best Western! We found the location convenient to subway access at Scarborough Town Centre and riding into town without bothering with traffic. Would stay again but ask for a renovated room if they are not all done yet.
Good location close to downtown Toronto. No restaurant in the hotel but the Keg is around the corner so we had a nice dinner. Renovated room but the mattress has to be changed. Good breakfast. Wi-Fi is working well and coffee is always available in the lobby with real cream/milk.
Friendly, airy and clean. Helpful smiling staff and very comfortable room on the newly renovated 4th floor. The quality price ratio was excellent and breakfast varied and plentiful. Will definetely recommend this BW.
Very comfortable bed and linens. Clean room. Slightly dangerous tub. The sides are curved in such a manner that someone might slip getting in. Breakfast has scrambled eggs and sausage most mornings. One morning had a make your own breakfast sandwich. Some sound issues like the people who can't control their children in the hallways. Also some minor road noise heard in the mornings. Unsupervised children in the pool area not necessarily the hotels fault. Pool only open until 10. Would have liked to see it open until 11 with an adult swim.
while reservation given visa card but ask my guest to give again their visa card and hold money on it. first night ok but next day morning broken shower hence move to other room, again same problem of not getting hot water, hence again move to 3rd room where shower ok.
The only downside about this hotel are the guests who are very inconsiderate to the staff and the rest of the guests. The long weekend is packed with guests who are, unfortunately, has no care about the cleanliness and use of the hotel's facilities. It is not fair for the friendly and hardworking staff to be blamed for ALL the complaints. I overheard a family during my stay that did nothing but make a lot of noise and they complain a lot about small things. Kudos to the magnificent leadership of Jerry, the FO Mgr, who even helped out during the rush hour breakfast time. All praises for Estrella, Maria Nimfa, and Rose for making sure the buffet area is filled up with food and assisting everyone with a smile. And big thanks to Mandeep for being very helpful and informative regarding our booking. It is a highly recommended place to stay, and the location is strategically near the highway and just a few minutes away from Scarborough Town Centre.
Good location right off the highway but did not hear the noise from highway in our room. We stayed on the newly renovated 4th floor. We arrived at midnight and when we pulled out the sofabed for our son the sheets were not the cleanest. We brought this to the attention of the front desk and our concerns were immediately addressed. The gentleman brought us up fresh sheets as well as a nice comforter that made the sofabed extra comfy for my son who said he had a good sleep (rare on a sofa bed) ! The rest of the room was spotless!! When we checked out the next morning I was very pleased to find out there was a 10% discount on our room rate for our inconvenience (without me even asking) and the manager was very apologetic and thanked me for bringing the issue to his attention. Very kind and professional staff. We will definitely stay here again!!
The beds were terrible, the rooms heating and air conditioning system was not working correctly. My wife ended up sleeping in the van,,,,now that's bad!! Kids were exhausted the next morning due to the room being so hot that our day at the science centre was very eventful lets just say.
The location is a little scary. The hotel has long-term visitors. The lobby and hallways always smell like marijuana. I was there for 6 night, the breakfast was good the first morning but it got worse each day. At the end, it consisted of expired yogurt and mouldy bagels. The tap in my washrooms dripped constantly...even after repairs. I asked for a refund or credit for my last night and was refused. I left anyway.
the rooms are in terrible condition, and the free breakfast is a myth, they cut off at 9:30am and on the weekend on 10am. They should be a 1 star hotel not 3. I would not recommend staying there for any family or friends of mine.
Perfect location near Pan AM Pool, highway. Complete breakfast. Clean pool, sauna, and hot tub. Updating in progress. Sofa bed could be more comfortable. Excellent staff to assist. Easy to find. Sault Y Synchro enjoyed our stay for the competition at Pam AM Pool.
You can't beat cleanliness, quietness, comfortable beds, and plenty of friendly staff when away from home. The breakfast was great with good staff, again, and you cannot find a more friendly and helpful man at the front desk than Rupert. My next stay will be Best Western for sure.
This hotel offers great value for a more than reasonable price. It is comparable if not above the other big chain hotels that charge a lot more. We pay much less for the same quality.... includes free breakfast, free parking. The room is very spacious and ultra clean! Bed is very very comfortable. We would choose to stay at Estate Drive Best Western over other hotels. You can't beat the value for what it offers.
I haven't stayed at this property fo awhile but I am pleased that I was able to do so recently. It is currently upgrading guest rooms and this was not intrusive during my stay. I stayed in a renovated room and it is very nice. The decor is pleasant and comfortable and the bathroom has been totally modernized. The one thing that I would change is the arrangement of the desk and microwave/refrigerator. Currently if one sits at the desk to do some paperwork it is difficult to watch the TV. I would switch these to furniture pieces. The internet was problem free, the bed was very comfortable and the hot breakfast was enjoyable.
Went for the Saturday night show at casino Rama There is a shuttle bus $10 per person round trip didn't use Pool and hot tub area nice One of the nicer hotels in area Staff very pleasant Tim Hortons and other restaurants very close There are closer hotels to casino
I stay here often, although this stay was not as good. Under my bathroom sink was a used plastic cup, obviously is wasn't cleaned properly. The room was too hot, the pool had no towels. I asked at the desk and was told they would bring asap. When I was getting out I asked a 2nd time to the other host, he gave to me on the spot. Breakfast was very plentiful, many options of different types of food to choose from. Although it wasn't my best stay I would still recommend it and I will be back again
My husband and I have stayed here many times. It's always very clean and a relaxing stay. This last stay I found a used plastic cup under the bathroom sink. So obviously the room was not properly cleaned. There were no towels for the pool. We asked for towels the reception desk was on phone and said she would bring some ASAP. She never delivered them. We asked a 2nd time to a different reception person and he did provide them. I was not overly pleased.
I stayed here 1 night, the hotel is decent but under renovations, I'm sure it'll be great once that is done. The hot tub was fantastic after a long drive. It's very easy to get too off of the 401 & The Keg is just 2 doors down which is great if you don't want to get back on the highway! ! My only grievance was that the a/c didn't work and I found it too hot in the room.
I stayed here one night on a business trip. The location is great right off the 401 and one building away from The Keg. It's always nice for me to have a good restaurant withing walking distance. I they're in the process of a renovation but that didn't affect my stay. My room was clean and pretty quiet considering how close it is to one of the busiest highways in North America. The staff was super friendly and made me feel like I was at home. The bed was comfy, shower was good and the wifi free. There was room for me to do my Beachbody workout in the room. So if you need to workout or have room for a crib you'll find it ok. I'd stay here again.
Room size a little bit small for four. Toilet size ok but sometimes only 3 set of towels place in the bathroom. Look clean, towels without smell. Shower with water flow good but overhead shower available only. Pillow and mattress support ok, and blanket warm enough. Coffee maker available in room. Air conditioner functioning well but a little bit noise. Housekeeping ok but wake me up twice for asking to change towels (Forgot to put on do not disturb signal). Breakfast available but everyday nearly the same and the taste is just ok. For me, the location is ok as I drive. It is good for the hotel to clear up the snow around 6 in the morning. Hotel staffs' attitude are good. The other thing which is good is elevator available.
The rooms were not clean. The pool and hot tub facilities were not working and there was no effort to repair them. This hotel is not well kept and has not been maintained. We would not recommend this hotel to anyone.
Our stay was comfortable. Our room was large and the beds were firm and supportive. The included breakfast was delicious and filling. Unfortunately, the whole hotel is being renovated; one floor at a time. Noise was not a problem but the indoor pool was closed for the duration of our stay. I recommend trying this hotel in about a year when the renovations are complete.
The overall quality and service are what is expected from this grade of hotel. However, there is one thing is below expectation. Providing clean bed sheet is expected from hotel like Best Western. However, the bed sheet that we had had stains. The stains spread in a few regions. When touching them, they feel harder than the rest of the bed sheet.
i stay there many time and i always enjoy the stay there. Hotel is very clean, lots of space, it have microwave, mini fridge. smooth checkin/checkout service and best of all they let me check out late when i request. Breakfast was nice too, they have scramble and sausage. i will definitely go back there again. highly recommend.
enjoyed this hotel clean , no noisy, didnt have any complaints , i would book all my stays here when i am on a business trip or for leisure. I enjioyed being close to all the stores and restuarants. I would recommend this hotel to all of my associates when traveling to canada
perfect stay. The hotel was clean, the bed comfortable, the staff friendly (checked in super late and they allowed late checkout the next day), hotel was quiet, close by to food places. Will definitely stay here again
Stayed overnight for a next day business meeting. The staff at check in and check out were very friendly and funny. Really pleasant to meet them. I was worried about noise in the room since it was next to the elevator. But it was very quiet anyway and I got a great nights sleep.
Stayed at the BW Dec 4 2015, nice hotel, however if you are on business and need to work in the evening or want to relax at the end of a long travel day. You cant. It seems they have no issue in their planning to mix young kids hockey teams in with business travelers who unfortunately have work to do in the evening. They offered a different room, but they should have better planning for kids coming in, running up and down hallways screaming and doing cartwheels against the doors. I have traveled with my own kids for hockey etc but also controlled them better and respected other peoples doors and rooms with noise. Not these parents.
Will never use this hotel at this city again. The rooms were not acceptable, there was only one staff who was helpful and friendly. The others made you feel that you owe it to them. Hallway was noisy at night. Some staff member even made a sarcastic comment. I was debating on whether to use them or not because I have always stayed with Holiday Inn. I wanted to try them. Really bad experience. I should have stayed with Holiday Inn.
this hotel employees including manger sucks. manager esp. i feel very racist. I will not take my family or friends there any more. They lost a regular customer. I expected better service than this, the manger was very rude to me. and even wanted to over charge me. as his math is very bad, they need skill manager not like this one.
I came to celebrate my grandson's wedding and the whole trip was terrific I came in August for a wedding shower, and at the time, the stay was great, I did not have breakfast there as I am not a fan of small rooms when eating. This is not a problem of the hotel, this is preference.
Good breakfast, shower, location, fridge / microwave. BUT, room was too hot for sleeping, need to use a/c even though freezing outside at night. The double quilt was too hot, used thinner cover over sheet 2nd night, and cooled off with a/c before sleep. Some scuffs on the furniture, some door closing noises, some fridge noise, slight highway noise. Not what I would call 'executive'. Pricey for what it is.
Hotel is dated, carpets are worn throughout the hotel, decor in room is dated. In room thermostat poor which results in drapery blowing all the way out. Breakfast was okay but hot food was poor with plastic eggs.
The breakfast was a nice touch. All the amenities were on par. No regrets. Good experience. The staff was also good. And good location as well. It's a cozy kind of atmosphere. Clean, comfortable. Wifi works well too.
My credit card was skimmed twice on two separate stays. I will never return and will warn friends. I previously stayed there because of location and price. I warn people not to stay there because there credit it cards will most like be skimmed.
We choose this hotel because of it's package deal to the Toronto Metro Zoo. While we were not overwhelmed by the hotel stay, it is pretty clean (smelled a little old in the room, maybe even previously smoked in), it was comfortable. The hotel has free parking, a nice pool and hot tub and a very nice breakfast. The room were alright in size. Beds were comfortable enough to sleep on with average linens. For us, the hotel served our purpose but certainly did not leave us feeling like we had found a really great place. I am not trashing talking it here, it is perfectly passible. The staff were very nice, pleasant and helpful. There are laundry facilities on the premises. It is definitely not the best hotel that I have ever stayed in at this price point BUT we would definitely consider using it again if we are planning are being in this region again.
This is a clean and friendly hotel. It is just off Markham and the 401; it suffers Toronto's rush hour but no worse than some and better than many. The breakfast had some fresh fruit as well as the usual cereal and micro-waved eggs. The internet worked well, there are enough outlets to run a computer, recharge a cell phone and a digital camera, good light to read by and a nice TV. I like Best Western mattresses and that one was in good condition with nice linens. My only beef, and it is with many modern buildings, is that it is sealed up. If any cleaning supplies have an odour it will linger for hours because there is no fresh air coming in to the room. I stayed four nights and found the staff helpful. There was adequate free parking, decent coffee at all hours and the building is quiet. It's a short hop to the Scarborough Town Centre Mall and a few chain restaurants. I will stay there again.
Lovely rooms, great prices and tasty breakfast. We have stayed her several times and it is always great - the staff make checking in and out very easy. The location is so central to everythig. The pool and hottub are always clean and well maintained.
I selected this hotel because of its amenities - gym and breakfast. The bed was perfext. The room and hotel generally were as quiet as possible given that it is beside the 401. The breakfast was good - typical hotel breakfast and friendly staff. I was told on check in that the hotel had been recently renovated. Unfortunately my room was dated. The chairs were worn and stained. The carpets were threadbare. The TV was only getting a few channels and the solution I was given was to wiggle the box in the back of the TV.
My mom and I stayed here on two separate occasions in the last couple of months. A lot cheaper than staying at the Best Westerns closer to the airport and likely with the same amenities. Mind you, we didn't need to be near the airport either. Anyway, the hotel was able to accommodate my mom's need for a room on a lower floor (she has an aversion to heights), which was great. Staff were very friendly at the reservations counter, in the breakfast room, and whenever we passed them in the hallway. The rooms weren't totally spick and span - so an average score on that - but the beds were comfy and we slept pretty well. Breakfast offered a variety of choices including cold and hot options. Overall a very pleasant stay and we would feel comfortable staying here anytime and recommending to others.
excellent in every way. The only suggestion I have is to increase the number of towels in the washroom. The toiletries should also be increased. Thats all I have to say. The tooth paste is good but too little. Once that is done you have excellent facility. In all I have really enjoyed my stay and I think your facility is first class. Thanks.
We choose this location as it was not too far from the Toronto Zoo. The hotel is situated by the highway but didn't hear the traffic so that was good. The room was clean and the free breakfast & parking made this stay pleasant. We would stay here again if visiting Toronto.
We stayed here for a week. Here are what I like: Hot breakfast with lots of choices. Clean room. Convenient location right beside 401 but surprisingly very quiet in the room. WiFi speed was fast - 10.4 Mbps download. My wife likes to drink hot water and was happy to use their hot water 24/7!
We stayed as we had a wedding in area..Front desk was very friendly and polite..They also had free parking that is amazing and a full free breakfast ..The rooms were clean and comfortable..Would stay there again in a heart beat ..Also have pool and hottub..
This hotel needs a good carpet cleaning and refresh. The carpets are very soiled and it does not make for a good impression. Rooms are basic. Clean enough, but basic. Rickety ironing Board and very worn sofa bed. Too many hosting of kid's 'Hockey Tournaments ' etc. I have been to a Best Western many times where there are hoards of screaming kids in the pool, or riding the elevators. I am rethinking Best Western's for this reason . There are a few good ones and I am assuming they don't take large sports group reservations.
We had a very bad experience, as other hotel guests started yelling, laughing and running up and down the halls in the middle of the night, which woke up my 2 year old grandson. We tried to call the front desk but the phone did not work! Also, when we reported it the next morning, the staff did not seem to care. The lock on our bathroom door was broken too,
Hotel is 30 mins from Wonderland and 5 min from Toronto Zoo, 15 min from large shopping centre. Breakfast is stated as All American Breakfast, basically it's a continental breakfast with some hot items, I wasn't overly impressed. Room was ok, only had hot water very early in the morning. Microwave and fridge in room - awesome!
Really enjoyed everything about this hotel! The staff were friendly, professional and very helpful with any questions. The room was very comfortable, and the location had access to major highways and nearby necessities .
It is a very nice best western. My husband and I stay there regularly when we visit family in Scarborough. The staff are friendly and courteous and accommodate my requests for main floor room every time. ( I have mobility issues ) the breakfast is standard and adequate.we love the location the best thing is close to a lot of things you might be interested and so close to the 401 which will get you anywhere. We stay at this hotel on average once every two months , sometimes more sometimes less depending on weather, but I always book this hotel when going to the city.
