Best Western El Rancho Palacio

I was truly impressed with our cozy room. Clean, and it had everything we needed. The front desk gentleman was so welcoming and accommodating to make a few changes I requested. Breakfast was delicious with lots of choices. Definitely would recommend if you want an outstanding visit.

Due to change in plans, we had to stop overnight in Roswell. Thought I'd try this hotel due to other reviews, and they were right! An excellent hotel at an excellent price. Very clean renovated rooms. Good size frig w working freezer. Very quiet - heard no other guests. Hot breakfast w plenty of choices. And excellent staff!! Look no further for a hotel.

This place was excellent from the the time we checked in , the staff was very friendly and made sure we were going to be satisfied, we will stay again & will refer friends and family!! The room itself was very clean the plumbing to the A/C all was working perfectly… let's not forget the bed it was very comfortable and was able to get a good nights rest , thanks again Best Western !!

Great location, rooms were nice and updated and it was very clean and comfortable, we have great luck with Best Western properties and would highly recommend this one for sure!! Breakfast was good for a nice little something in your tummy!!

Great staff friendly and very helpful. Location is excellent only 10 minute walk to old Town. There is a great little lounge and restaurant which is giving guests discounts on beverages for adults. Fitness room looked ok, laundry room worked and was cheap $1.75 wash $1.25 to dry

We had an awesome time in Roswell and the Best Western El Rancho Palacio was great. I booked a room the day before trip and the service was quick and welcoming. It's in a great location near restaurants and museums. The staff was very nice and they texted us throughout our stay and let us know they were available if we needed anything which was very nice. The rooms were clean and quiet and the water for the shower was hot. Overall it's an awesome place to stay and we were happy with our experience we will stay again for our next trip. Nice clean room and comfy King bed- Hot breakfast in am and next door to the best mexican restaurant in town Nice TV ( direct view) strong internet and was very quiet - no word noise or noise from other rooms even though hotel was full Convenient location Hosts were very nice and courteous , would stay here again

The staff was very pleasant and helpful, Check in was very smooth, we booked the room through the app and completed the pre check in on my phone. Arrived and was very impressed with how clean and neat the room was. Breakfast was the standard issue and the dining area was very clean and staff kept everything well stocked and tidy. Definitely recommend.

The room was very clean and nicely furnished. The bed was very comfortable as were the pillows. They also offered a free breakfast. The 2 associates at the front desk were very friendly and helpful. They allowed pets for a small fee. This is our new place to stay when in Roswell, NM.

Hotel was easily accessible off the highway. The hotel has had updates to the whole property in the last five years. Lobby is open, modern, with great decor. Rooms are updated and clean. Mattresses are double wrapped with bed bug defying mattress pads. Breakfast was the standard fare but was fresh and hot. Room prices are very reasonable compared to other properties in the same area.

I give this hotel TEN all accross board. Amii and all staff excellent. Will certainly plan another stay when in Roswell. Acommodations very nice and they have gone "beyond" to see that we are pleased. I would certainly recommend this hotel.

Really nice folks who took good care of us. Friendly staff who assisted whenever we needed. Room was clean and well maintained. This place is pet friendly and close to good places to eat. I will stay there again the next time I'm in Roswell for business or pleasure.

This is likely the best motel value available in NM. An example of continuous investment in the facility is the completely redone and expanded breakfast room that I saw on my first stay since late 2019. As always, my room was clean and well-maintained. BW El Rancho Palacio may look like a ‘60s motel at first glance, but it is far, far better than that!

The overall guest experience at this property was very low. Considering there were seven rooms booked at this entire property, they wanted to charge $45 to check in an hour and a half early. Again the hotel was completely empty. They turn off the ice machine in the winter, The air conditioning and heating system did not work. I would just say pass

On Main Street, north of downtown, and near the New Mexico Military Institute. Short drive (or longish walk) south to the downtown attractions. However, upon our arrival, the reserved king bed was not available. Room was comfortable enough. The new standard BW+ breakfast room provided a lot of food options.

While this motel is older, they do a great job keeping it up and I see them constantly improving (3rd time at this location). They are prompt on service and everything is clean. The biggest perk was the price. Very affordable.

I was a little hesitant to book at this hotel because of it's age, but was pleasantly surprised. As the other reviews mentioned, the rooms have been completely remodeled and are clean. The parking lot is well lighted and it is just across the street from newer, high priced hotels. Glad we stayed here!

I stayed in the BW in Roswell and had a pleasant experience. It was a long trip, with some disappointing nights, but I rested well in this room, and appreciated how friendly the staff were. There were also gluten free options at breakfast.

This is a motel and wow the room was so clean. Did not even smell like smoke. It is a smoke free place but the door leading outside there is always that possibility. But this place knows how to keep the rooms clean. The tv did not work they tried to fixed it for us. They had to call the provider to fix it. The breakfast was good. It was a nice stay.

We were very pleased with our stay at the Best Western in Roswell. Check in was very easy and the front desk was extremely pleasant. Our room was very clean and comfortable and had everything we needed. The pool was very clean and refreshing. It could use a little work as it is starting to chip away And could cause harm to feet with the floating pieces of cement. Breakfast was very good and had a little bit of everything for everyone. We would definitely stay here again if we should ever return to Roswell.

We have stayed here for many years during the summer on our way to Colorado. Staff is always super friendly. Pool is always clean. Rooms are always nice and comfortable. We love staying at this location.

Best Western El Rancho Palacio in Roswell was our 2 night stay to visit the UFO Museum and other Roswell points of interest. Check in was speedy and accommodated our request for a first floor room (no elevator). The pool area looked clean and well maintained, although we didn't use it due to the extreme heat warnings during our time in town. The spacious king bedroom was very clean with modern updated bathroom fixtures and spotless bedding. A nice roomy chair and ottoman provided a comfortable seating option with good lighting for reading. The TV, remote, small refrigerator and microwave all were in good working order. Room darkening curtains stayed in place over the window above the in-wall air conditioning unit. The unit kept the room comfortable and allowed temperature adjustment as needed. The icemaker in the hallway required a room key card to activate. The breakfast room was well supplied with coffee and a variety of juices. Hot breakfast items were ready at the 6am opening time and replenished by the staff throughout the breakfast hours. There was a good selection of cereals, pastries, yogurts, and a couple types of fruit to choose. The eating space included some small tables and counter space seating along two sides of the room, so the breakfast never seemed too full to find a seat. The staff members were very polite and courteous and truly made our visit a pleasant one. The location is across the street from familiar restaurants, and the area seemed calm and safe. There is no guest laundry room or exercise room on the grounds. There was a room service menu with a nice selection of items for guests to order. We didn't try the room service, but it would be an option for travelers who didn't want to go out for a meal.

We arrive at two in the morning after 14 hours of driving it desk staff was so nice, offer a late check without being asked. Parking was full. They allowed us to park in the loading zone. Rooms were a nice size. Older hotel, so there was no elevator.

This is a stop we make frequently. Always stay at this hotel. The staff is always very friendly. The rooms are always clean and well stocked with soap, etc. The breakfast has a good variety. and the eating room fully remodeled and clean.

Room was clean and small. Good bed. Door did not seal (could see light all around the edges) so highway noise was an issue. Rooms are accessed via outside only and breakfast room was a makeshift empty hotel room with a set up to only “take back to your room” to eat. Eggs were fried and not scrambled. No hot water for oatmeal but room had microwave so we made our oatmeal in the room. It was 22 degrees out and the jaunt back and forth for any additional items was certainly a chilly endeavor. Not as expected. Would not stay here again but this Best Western is fine if you only want a clean place to sleep for a night and you are sound sleeper and don't mind carrying food back to your room to eat.

Nice hotel overall. Great suite and worth the money. Nice restaurant right next door so walking is convenient. Friendly staff and very clean rooms. Continental breakfast was hot and fresh with variety.

I booked 2 rooms for 2 nights for myself, my mother and her friend to see the alien attractions in Roswell and as a base to drive to Carlsbad Caverns. Hotel was located off of Main Street which can get a little noisy during the evening hours. I didn't expect there to be that much traffic but it did subside later in the evening. The doors to the room open to the outside if that is an issue for anyone. I would recommend asking for a room as far away from the road as possible next time. My Mom's friend's room was farther away from the road and she didn't have any noise issues. There was also some noise coming from between the bedroom wall and the bathroom that I didn't mention to the staff. Overall though I was very impressed with the value we received for the rooms, particularly the numerous channel options on the TV and the many free breakfast options, including a make your own waffle option, an egg dish, sausage and potatoes (which were really good). I also received a nice military discount and the staff/owner was very friendly. Would return in the future, especially if the aliens really landed there!

We stayed here one night driving through AZ and taking a short detour to see Roswell. The location was good, just a short drive to downtown, and the room was clean. Unfortunately, the pool was too cold and right next to the street, so that was disappointing. Roswell itself was just a tourist stop, so I wouldn't go out of my way to go back but if I did I would stay here again if the price was right, just because of the pool situation. I'd prefer spending a little more and being able to relax at a nice pool. Everything else was average to very good.

Great little basic hotel…..greeted by front desk very friendly and professional. Gave us 2nd floor as requested, no issues with my Service dog. Room was super clean and bed was a delight to sleep in. Older hotel , but sparkled. Breakfast was good, standard fare. A hidden gem which was responsible in price

This is a good, basic hotel. The lobby and breakfast areas were very clean, as was our room. Bed was very comfortable, and the hotel was quiet at night despite being located on a busy street. The breakfast was excellent. The large selection of foods included waffles, scrambled eggs, sausage, cereals, fruit. The only reason I am giving this place a four-star rating haas to do with its layout. There is no elevator to the second-floor rooms, only exterior stairs, The sole ice machine is located in one of the ground-floor corners. While not a problem for us, these factors might be problematic for someone with mobility issues. Otherwise, this is a good choice when in Roswell.

Our go-to place when passing through Roswell with dog. Simple but clean, friendly and comfortable. Decent quality for included breakfast. Reception always friendly. Fair ($15) pet charge and small grassy area for dog to do her thing.

2 stars for friendly staff, a decent breakfast even though the space is small, and overall cost for a pet friendly room. The room itself had issues however. Upon arrival the room door was left open. We reported it to the front desk in case of security concerns, but the said the maid just probably forgot to lock up. There was a bottle of Draino left upside down in the tub drain... It didn't work! The tub backed up when taking a shower, and when using the sink and took 45 minutes to drain until someone else could use the shower. We placed some leftover food in the refrigerator, only to find out the next day it wasn't cold enough and the food spoiled. There was no way to adjust the temperature as the knob was removed. As we were only there 2 nights, and spent most of the day away from the hotel we let the staff know when we left. On a positive note, the AC worked, the bed was just OK. But I've had much better stays at other BW's and will probably avoid this one next time.

Conveniently located, good value, room was clean, shower had good water pressure. Staff was friendly, courteous, and helpful. I would stay here again. I stayed at a couple Best Western Plus locations during this trip, the only difference with this standard Best Western - it was the type where you enter your room from the outside, rather than go through a lobby and enter from a hallway. Quality of the room was on par with a BW Plus.

The male manager was so very nice. Another couple traveled with us and both wives are handicapped. Without much notice of our stay, the manager went out of his way to help us get a room that would be the easiest to unload luggage and get wives into room. Great personality as well.

Huge room. Air had to be set low to get it to cool. The bathroom and entry had a door separating it. It was clean and quiet. The pool was nice and went to 9ft deep. Breakfast has biscuits gravy and eggs, sausage, potatoes and the other normal things. Check was easy and staff super nice!

We used this as a overnight stop on cross country trip. It is easy to find, clean and has friendly service. Breakfast was a little above average. This hotel is an older hotel that has been remodeled and in above average condition.

Best hotel we stayed in on our 9 day vacation. Clean, room was well appointed and welcoming ( not dark and dingy like some!). Friendly teams providing services, good ice machine, separate shower and sink area (helps when traveling with girls!), excellent breakfast, very comfy beds, military discount. First Best Western we've stayed at - will definitely book with this chain on all future travels!

Very good stay overall. Room was very clean and temperature wise nice and cool, hotel was conveniently located right next to the main road that leads in and out of Roswell. Internet speed is a bit slow, but manageable for browsing.

We are repeat customers and will continue to be. Staff is always super friendly and nice, rooms are clean and welcoming, and the pool is perfect for our daughter to work out excess energy from traveling all day.

If you are traveling through or near Roswell this is a very nice place to stay. The staff are friendly and helpful. The rooms are clean and the property is quiet and very nicely cared for. Very good places to eat within 5 minutes and most are within 2 minutes away, I will stay here from now on when passing near Roswell.

Centrally located and convenient to local sights, restaurants or shopping. Would recommend for long term stay if planning on exploring area. Also, not too far from Carlsbad Caverns or other attractions.

Please try best western palacio well worth the stay. Staff always goes out of its way to make you feel at home. Been staying for over 5 years never had a problem.Hotel is in center of town easy to get around.Restaurants all around big variety.

Very good place. Plenty of towels and electrical outlets. Larger refrigerator with a freezer. Lighting was good. Check in was fast and friendly. Parking was good. A 10% discount at a very good Mexican restaurant next door. Inside the room it was quiet. Good beds

This hotel is set up in a nice way so that the parking lot is well lit and easy to access. There isn't an elevator so request a first floor room if you have mobility issues. Overall the stay was pleasant and the room was clean.

We were extremely happy with this location while visiting Roswell. It is right in the middle of everything off the Main road. It has very comfortable beds and a very good breakfast and hot coffee in the morning. This was a great option after our visit to the Grand Canyon. We will definitely be visiting this location again on our next visit to the area!

With Covid, traveling is difficult. Having doors that open to outside was what we first loved about the hotel, no enclosed hallways to go through. The hotel is very well maintained and it the staff is always excellent. We go to visit our NMMI student often and she loves the pool~

Great property...Clean and comfortable room. Also perfect as there is a restaurant on site serving dinner and a "made to order" breakfast...Wonderful for the weary traveler...I can depend on BW 99% of the time and I travel frequently these days.

Our one night visit was perfect! Very clean, comfortable king bed, sink was separate from the bathroom, good breakfast choices that were well stocked, and close to walk to many restaurants. The heater fan kicked in & out which bothered us at night, but that was the only issue. Great value!

Typical Motel. The grounds seem well kept. You are allowed to have dogs, for a few. Friendly staff. Clean rooms. Well equipped. Breakfast was very nice. Hot and cold options. They had soy milk which is a big plus. Price is right for the stay. Overall a good stay!

I called to get specific directions on how to get to this location. The individual gave me the street address. When I ask her for more detailed info, it appeared she had no idea how to give me that info and had to ask someone else for assistance. I think BW should require this info be posted at all front desks so their customers or staff don't have to be frustrated by this issue. The breakfast area was disgusting. Their was pancake batter, crumbs, etc. all over areas of the counters. There was about a tablespoon of eggs left and other choices were minimal at best. It was obvious there was no one overseeing this area.

I thought it was great that they had meet for breakfast not just some continental rolls. It was also nice that they had a Belgian waffle maker. The only bad part is there was a refrigeration truck parked in the street next to the hotel that kept turning on and off during the night.

This hotel should cater to guests...not to a parked refrigerated food semi 8 feet from our window...engine/generator on all night..our room shook and we couldn't sleep..much less watch tv....front desk said the driver made his reservation two days prior to November 4th, 2021..and they are allowed to park their semis behind us...she did not move us to different room although we requested to be moved..she said they only have 2 pet rooms and the other had checked in..is this a hotel or a truck stop??!!

We wanted a motor lodge style accommodation, since we had a lot of items to unload from the car. The staff was very friendly, and it was good to have a non-box lunch (during covid) to start our day. Unlike some motels in southern New Mexico, they did follow covid guidelines from the state.

The staff were all extremely friendly, the hotel (especially my room) was very clean, of the 4 hotels I stayed during my road-trip across 4 states, this was the only one with HBO! Roswell is small so all of the museums and attractions are close by regardless of where your hotel is located.

Nice hotel. Good hot & cold breakfast. Nice pool heated by the sun and good for doing laps. Good Wi-fi. Visitor tip for downtown. Park in the free lot behind the Roswell Visitor Center. Stop inside the center for a nice map of attractions in the area that are within walking distance of the parking lot. There's also a Golden Corral nearby.

Average property, below average front desk/management. Limited breakfast choices, very small, cramped breakfast area (seats 11).There are several places in Roswell to pick from. Room was clean, park outside your door.

Our room was a non-smoking room that had a plug-in freshener that tried to mask that it used to be. There were evident burn holes in the carpet. Other room I was offered smelled the same. Otherwise, fine.

My family and I decided to go visit Alien City. BestWestern made it so easy. A few miles away from Alien Museum and attractions was great. Besides having wondering accommodations and relaxing pool, we were able to have a memorable vacation. Thank you BestWestern.

We have stayed at this location for over 10 years, and we are always very pleased. Staff is extremely friendly and welcoming, rooms are nice and clean, and the pool is the perfect size for after travel exercise. The restaurant next door, Los Cerritos, is excellent!

For the price paid, the hotel rooms were great, the location was also perfect. The front desk staff was very welcoming. Aside from walking traffic outside that was at times overheard, no other issues were noticed.

A good value motel. Very clean, staff was helpful and pleasant, everything in the room worked properly. We didn't take advantage of the complimentary breakfast, so no thoughts on that. Plenty of parking available. The pool, although cold water [:-0] was well appointed with lounge chairs and plenty of clean towels.

They were very friendly and allowed an early checking Room was clean and had fridge..microwave....coffee maker...bathroom amenities.. Bed comfortable ..nice sheets and pillows WiFi not so good ...would cut out after 20 minutes and had to put password in again ..a little annoying... This is the third Best Western that we have stayed at in the last year, and I must compliment the overall management and how BW is handling the pandemic. Unlike Hampton Inn, who normally has a hot breakfast but is now handing out an unsatisfactory bag of carbs, Best Western continues to offer hot breakfast. El Rancho Palacio did not disappoint-- eggs, potatoes, sausage, everything hot, served by a pleasant staff member, and packaged in a to-go container to eat in our room. Perfect. Our room was clean and had my favorite arrangement of having the sink outside of the toilet/shower area. The front desk clerk checking us in was friendly and efficient. We were travelling with another couple, and as usual I had requested for our rooms to be close together. The clerk announced with a smile that our rooms were right next door to each other. That is pretty rare in our experience. Another innovation that I have not seen anywhere else-- by the front desk is a hand sanitizer dispenser that is operated by a foot pedal. Ingenious! I highly recommend this hotel.

Was really impressed by the room and the customer service in this hotel. Definitely my favorite Best Western! Clean rooms, comfy bed, convenient location and very good customer service were only some of the things I liked.

We weren't going to be staying long so we wanted to find a decently priced place that was also clean. This particular place exceeded our expectations and it's hard to do that for me when I'm an OCD clean freak. The gentleman that checked us in that night was exceptional and even came out in the freezing cold to help us find a spot to park our moving truck/car carrier. He served us for breakfast too and couldn't have been a nicer human. This location is apparently the only place that still serves a hot breakfast during covid (they took proper safety precautions as well). THANK YOU!

The nicest and most comfortable motel room EVER - and Amy and Sean were most delightful! Our room was emaculate, pretty, and well maintained. The bed was very comfortable, and toiletries were very upscale. We could not have asked for a better room or experience.

We have been staying at this property when we pass through going or coming from Arizona to Massachusetts. Great, clean rooms, very friendly staff, and best of all great room rate. Plenty of locations very close to eat at as well.

We stayed here one night recently. The check in was a bit of a bump because we booked online and the service we were using was down without our knowing it. The clerk booked us a room immediately at the rate we were quoted online, excellent service. The room was in the back of the building and was clean and quiet. We would stay here again. Very good value.

For a night before going to Carlsbad Caverns, this was a good place to stay. It was probably built about 40 years ago but has been renovated. Everything worked. Good Wi-Fi. There is a good Mexican Restaurant adjacent to the Motel. Because of the COVID-19 requirements, they cannot serve the hot breakfast which would include hot, make your own waffles, juice, sausage and biscuits. Instead they gave us a box with an cheese omelette and sausage, bread and an orange. The other problem is the A/C is the old under the window unit that keeps cycling on and off and the noise level goes from silent ot about 40-50 db every time it turns on

It was really amazing experience to stay at this motel. 110% best service they have provided in this pandemic situation. Spacious room - more than enough for two. As an elite member of high level chains, this room came in cheap at $60 a night. Clean and simple everything you need is included. very much surprised, with COVID situation they are serving this for breakfast. First night they gave us grab bags and on second day they had this box. Been traveling since last two weeks and staying at 6-7 hotels in various town this was unexpected.

We recently stayed at this hotel and were extremely happy with our accommodations. The room was very clean, especially important during the Covid-19 pandemic. The staff was very courteous and they even provided a breakfast box to take back to our room. I would highly recommend staying here and would not hesitate to do so in the future if we are ever that way again!

Excellent stay, The staff were very welcoming and helpful. The hotel is very clean throughout, and my room was spacious with everything that i needed. Breakfast was substantial, and suited all tastes. I stayed for 2 nights after having a long drive from Ontario Canada to Roswell USA . I had a really good time to rest because of the quiet neighbourhood which helped me to get rid of my tiredness of the road. Whenever i get a trip of the roswell city would definitely stay again at this wonderful hotel. Thanks for your excellent hospitality.

So we book a single room for two adults and two children that costs $150 through Priceline with Best Western El Rancho Palacio. Perfect. We make it to Roswell around 3:30 am and go to check in and are told Priceline has not sent them the reservation and although we had a conformation number and proof of payment being taken from our account, that it was a third party matter that they could not help us with and could not honor the booking. I'm frustrated at this point, but ok we're just tired and want to sleep so I say “ok we will deal with that later can I just please rent a room so we can again go to bed, we've been driving for 14 hours.” We were then told because my girlfriend had a New Mexico ID, she was a local, and they could not give a room to locals because it was “policy.” Mind you this is not posted anywhere. I ask for her to call her manager which she replies “but he's sleeping.” I reply “I don't care, I need my room please wake him.” She comes back and says “sorry we can't help you, per the manager.” Frustratingly I nicely explained that we were not locals, that she hadn't changed her ID due to the world wide pandemic and Vegas DMVs being booked out for months. I tell her to call her manager again, she returns with the same smirk telling us she can't help us. I AGAIN explained were not locals please give us the room we paid for because we have no where else to go and no more money, which she then again told me that wasn't their problem and that we should have changed the ID..... Ok....so annoyingly again I explain “we are not locals here is my ID give me a room”. She then says “no sorry I saw that you're with a local and we can't rent to you either.” At this time I AGAIN provide my Nevada ID, 2 of my girlfriends Nevada medical insurance cards and her car insurance with her name and our Nevada address. I ask again to call the manager. Even with all of this, we are again denied service. At this point, im asking why they won't provide service to us and to show me the policy that they cannot give me a room. The girl blankly looks at me so get upset and ask AGAIN why we are being denied when we have paid, with proof, have proved we are not locals, and are still standing in the cold at now 4:00am just asking for a place to sleep that we paid for. Again we get denied and when I keep demanding an answer as to why were being refused, she responds “that's the policy, I can get in trouble.” I can't lie y'all, a girl lost it here. Not appropriate but I became irate at this point yelling and demanding we be given our key so we can just go to bed and to be provided the service we paid for. Yes I'll be honest I yelled and cursed at this point which was not right, but respectfully I paid my fee for a service and now you are telling me that my family and I now have to be put in a potentially dangerous position and sleep in our car somewhere on the side of the road because they literally wouldn't rent us a room for no reason. Sorry but put my family in a dangerous situation and I am no longer patient or calm. After losing my cool, I again ask to show me policy of why were being denied. At this point I'm told that they have a right to refuse service because I was upset and yelling and that if I didn't leave they would call the police on me because I was causing a scene. I told her I'd call them for her because I wasn't leaving I just wanted my room key we paid for. She threatened I needed to leave again and at this point I lost it again and went into full blown rage at the window. Like dude literally just give me a room? Why am I still even standing here? My girlfriend finally gets me to get in the car after this. At this point we're forced to have to drive across the street to beg another hotel to take us in, who initially told us no because they weren't taking any new people that night because she had just done her nightly audit. After many tears, a panic attack, and begging, we were able to be put into a room. For that, thank you so much Baymont by Windom for helping me and my partner have a safe place to sleep. I wake up the next morning and we are now being pushed between Priceline and the Hotel both telling us to call the other person for the refund. Which we are ultimately told to take up with our own bank because they couldn't do anything, lol. At this point I'm literally dumbfounded. I go back to the hotel to ask for a confirmation that the booking has been canceled and we weren't being charged. Tell me why the manager that he been called the night before was there and again tried to kick me out of the hotel! I did not yell, I did not curse, I calmly asked why we had been denied service, for a copy of the policy's that explained why we were, and a print out that we didn't have any charges. He tells me he saw the video of me yelling and didn't need to take it from me (mind you I'm calmly talking) and that I needed to leave. I told him I'm not leaving it was my right to be in the establishment and request the documentation since they took my payment that I still didn't have returned. The manager denied giving me the policy and told me he didn't have to provide it to me. The guy continues to be rude and tells me again I was in the wrong but hands me the paper so I leave explaining it was the worst I've ever been treated and would be reporting him. He tells me “great go ahead.” I call Best Western and they are immediately apologetic and are opening an investigation and so is Priceline which I'm grateful for, but can I just be open and say I have NEVER been treated so poorly in my life. Let alone during a world wide pandemic when I'm just asking for a service I paid for and to rest our heads safely. I'm ashamed of services in our country lately and the fact that this happened to not only me but probably thousands of other people regularly is not ok. I'm posting this because people need to be aware of this company and what they are doing to innocent customers. I'm normally not the kind of person to post stuff like this but here we are.

This hotel is located on the middle of Main Street. Despite that, it is very quiet and you should have no problem getting a good nights rest. Restaurants are within walking distance. Hotel is clean and has an extra lock in place on the door for added security. The WiFi is very fast and reliable. Direct TV available with movie channels. There is a grab and go breakfast with fresh coffee available. The beds are very comfortable. Water pressure is great.

Obviously really old highway motel, but was maintained in good condition and reasonable price for the room, got it for 71.49 for the night. AC worked fine once the room cooled off. Adequate parking, no complaints. Good shower pressure.

A friendly reception by Rebecca at my arrival, and she allowed me to park my motorcycle under the porte-cochère to protect it from the coming rain. She assigned me a king bed room upstairs as requested. The room was in a quiet location and had a desk and chair, a comfy chair with ottoman, a coffee table, dresser, fridge with freezer compartment, microwave oven and a large bath area with a nicely tiled shower. Everything was clean and with contemporary design. The A/C was a bit noisy and had a hard time to get below 78 degrees, the desk lamp did not work and the room door would not open with the touch-key-cards (so I had to get it re-coded a few times). A grab-n-go breakfast and coffee was offered in the morning.

This was my second stay at this hotel in the last 2 years. The most recent stay was during the COVID-19 pandemic and we were pleased that the hotel and staff took cleanliness, wearing masks, and social distancing seriously. The room was very clean. The prepackaged breakfast (instead of the typical breakfast bar) was a very nice gesture for the hotel to offer.

The hotel is located on Main Street with good restaurants and shopping close by. Check-in was rapid and friendly. Although we did not use many of the available amenities, many were available. Breakfast was basic, but good with hot and cold choices and protein available.

Being a BW Rewards member, this one was less than average. Although our room was clean and comfy, it was smaller than usual. The usual breakfast (included) was good but the breakfast room was pretty small. It would have worked fine for us but at 4 a.m. I was awoken from a woman outside our room that was either drunk, in distress, or both. I then heard a mans voice whispering her to keep quiet. At the same time a couple was loitering in the parking area. Too afraid to confront them myself in 38° weather I was about to call 911 but then they left. Being too freaked out, I couldn't fall back asleep then at 5 a.m. a garbage truck came to collect it's load. Really??? 5 a.m??? After breakfast I told the front clerk about the situation and he said he was aware of the what went on and that the police were called ...which I never saw. Aside from that incident, there are many contractors staying at the property. We saw them hanging out on the balcony drinking, and spitting over the balcony. Gross! Some folks take the “free breakfast” for granted and after they finished their meal, they load up with more food to take with them and leaving not much for others. No fault of the hotel but the behavior of some of the clientele was discussing. Aside from SOME characters, the hotel does have a comfortable bed (if you can sleep) and friendly staff.

Typical Best Western room, sink separate from toilet and tub. Very good bed, quiet rooms. Only problem was that in cool weather the tile floor in the lavatory area is freezing cold. And no way to warm it up except by laying something on the floor so it doesn't feel so cold. Once I did that, it was ok.

I stay at the El Rancho Palacio every time we travel to Roswell. Great pet friendly hotel. Excellent rooms and services. Great breakfast too! Close to great food. Staff is very friendly and take care of your needs or requests. I highly recommend staying here if you travel to Roswell NM.

During our road trip we spent one overnight at this hotel and were very pleased. The hotel is older but has been nicely updated. We asked for the 2nd floor and had a specious room comfortable bed, big screen tv, fridge and microwave. The only complaint we had was about the breakfast room. The selection was great but the room very small for the actual size of the hotel and guests. Other than that small thing, we would recommend it and would stay again should we find ourselves in the area again. Oh, and there are several restaurants conveniently located across the street for dinner .choices.

I have stayed here before and always recommend it. I love the remodeled bathrooms! The beds are great, the shower is big and plenty of pressure any time of the day or nite. The breakfast has several options and there is a great restaurant next door!

Great hotel with excellent staff. Spacious room with a very comfortable bed and excellent furnishings. Restaurants and shopping close and easy to get some within easy walking distance. Over all a excellent hotel to stay at

The place is right down town. There's no parking for trailers or big rigs. We had to find another place to park our trailer because we had to stay. They would let us cancel. The room is cleaner than most. I think It's been remodeled lately. But the room is so so incredibly light that I couldn't sleep without going to get a sleep mask. You could literally read a book from the light from outside. There's no way to pull the curtain enough to get the light from coming inside. The breakfast is what was fantastic. The place is incredibly clean and the breakfast is hot and fresh and good. It's nothing like the other places with the same exact food. It's actually nice.

Had really good experience staying with Best Western motel, People were soft and kind. The rooms were spacious and also decent. Bed was comfortable. price was decent and good thing is the full morning breakfast in included with that price.

Stopped here for an overnight stay and was not disappointed. We had a room toward the back of the property which was quite. The room was very clean and the bed comfortable which all made for a good night's sleep. Breakfast was mediocre, but not surprisingly so.

the rooms were very spacious.... had an amazing stay, no problems in sleeping since the beds were very comfortable ... The AC works great which kept our room at great temp. even though it was hot hot outside... Also had a great time in pool, which was clean and surrounding was calm..Healthy breakfast was served in mornings, and also it was good enough for us.. eggs, oatmeal, cereals, breads, fruit, juice, milk, coffee & yogurt.

This brand gives all the things it should have... comfortable and clean room with welcoming staff. Short walk to some restaurants and close to main road. Breakfast was free and adequate with amazing service always fresh and area looks clean and brighter specially early in morning.

My family enjoys the Best Western chain of motels while on vacation. This stay was comfortable. Easy access to everything in the downtown area strip. Smallish rooms, but clean and tidy. Breakfast in the morning, average hot food choices synonymous with BW.

Best western Rosewell, NM. When coming into the area we didn't have a reservation here, the hotel staff provided us with two rooms. For the rooms this location has a military rate, knocking a percentage off the rate.

Let's be real - Roswell, NM is not a great down. It's hot, flat, boring, and dingy. But the Best Western El Rancho Palacio there is a real treat. There are other (seemingly fancier and more upscale) hotels in Roswell - I know, I've stayed at them. And none of them treat people as well or go the extra mile so much as this Best Western does. BW people actually seem GENUINELY happy to see customers and help with questions or issues. And they always have clean rooms and great AC which is a must in Roswell summers.

They had clean rooms, excellent service. Overall everything was good ,Complimentary breakfast selection was great.The staff is was very helpful. Would stay again over here if ever passes near to rosswell.

Had a very lovely stay in B.W at Roswell. The rooms are the best. I had a very great night sleep and also had an excellent continental breakfast.There pool was open and looks clean though I did not went in there. People working there were nice and cultured.

i had a great summer time there with more quality time in pool which was clean and quite. Service from the staff was 4-Star quality. Breakfast was served hot and was healthy with many varieties. Room given to me were newly renovated and was looking great. it was a pleasure staying there.

Decent, clean hotel rooms. The pool was lovely and staff are friendly. The customer service was excellent. The beds were advertised as Queen beds, but are Double size. Plenty of parking.If you are traveling on a budget this hotel gives you a decent room at a good price.

This hotel was clean and comfortable enough as a place to crash after being gone most of the day (stayed 3 days). The bed was a little firm, but I've slept on much worse. The room had a fridge and microwave. Breakfast had a variety of items including fruit, yogurt, oatmeal, cereal and hot foods like eggs and waffles. The only complaint I have is that they'd forget to replace the coffee in the room. Normally I bring a coffee press along and regret not bringing it with me on this trip. Overall, I'd stay here again.

I booked this hotel because it was a better value on my quality hotel list (Hampton, Fairfield, etc). And I realize that many Best Westerns are not necessarly in the same class as those others, I thought I would try to save some money this trip and give it a try. It was easy to find on the north end of town along the main street. Outside you can tell it is an older hotel, but they have made efforts to keep it repaired and fresh paint. The landscaping is trimmed and attractive. Checking in was friendly and helpful. She showed me where my room was and how to find the wifi password. The room was updated with new linens and bathroom fixtures. I was on the 2nd floor and the ceiling has neat exposed beams on the cathedral ceiling. Overall not as polished as some of the newer hotels. But still clean and worth the value.

Came into town in the pm and it had started to sprinkle rain. Front desk person was very friendly & accommodating. Parking available all around the hotel for buses & semis. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Great motel!

When on a road trip, its really great to find a rooms under your budgets and I accept that not everything will be perfect. The rooms looks new, So it was Clean, safe and staff were nice people which is most important, Staff was nice and helpful with all the questions I had about the town.This was just what I needed. Easy to find the destination, surrounding was Clean, comfortable. Good nights sleep.

it was pleasant staying in here. We were upgraded to a room which was recently renovated . Room was clean and spacious. We were even able to put up a pack and play for the baby and it wasn't in the way. Hopefully we weren't too loud for the other guests next to us. We would totally stay here again if we are going through this area. Breakfast was awesome. to get continental breakfast at this price is really good thing. the staff at dinning area was very helpful in providing new and fresh stuff for our eat. The One important thing was the access of Internet, it was pretty quick.

This property is about 2 miles down the road from downtown Roswell. Rooms were clean and the beds were comfortable. A decent restaurant right next door and within walking distance of a Walgreens for anything you may need or have forgotten. Perfect for an overnight stop or for your Roswell vacation. Breakfast is served every morning and the selection was nice. The front desk staff was very friendly and helpful.

After driving across Texas and through the terrible west Texas oil fields, then half way through New Mexico, it's was nice to be able to get a nice clean room with a comfortable bed. The staff was super awesome. The next morning the breakfast was amazing!!! The evening of our stay, there was some construction/remodeling noise, but it ended well before bed time. I'd stay here again!

Came this way from Texas to visit Carlsbad Caverns, didn't know about oil boom south of Carlsbad. Had wondered why rooms were so much more in Carlsbad when looking on line, certainly found out when we drove through Pecos area. I would advise avoiding highway 285 from Fort Stockton Tx. to Carlsbad N.M., biggest mess I have ever driven through. Found motel booked with oil field workers, parking scarce and couldn't park near room. Had asked for ground floor because lacked elevator and being senior adults we didn't really want to lug luggage up stairs, but glad they hadn't given away room. Workers were up at four in the morn., but not excessively loud. Room was clean and comfortable, better setup than one night before in Del Rio. Breakfast not bad, have had worst.

I always stay here about 6 or 7 nights a year. I highly recommend the El Rancho!! They are awesome and very pet friendly as well. The breakfast is pretty darn good for a hotel...they beat our expectations by being open and ready by 6:20 am every morning we were staying there.

Very and nice we enjoyed it. The rooms were clean. The staff was friendly. We got a comfortable night's sleep and was able to be rested for our next days activities. Our ac did not work in our room so the front desk immediately switched us to another room. No problems at all.

The bed was nice. The shampoo bottle was empty. Luckily my husband brought me my own shampoo and I didn't have to get out of the shower to get shampoo. The chairs were stained. We were woken up at 4am by someone (assuming staff) using a shopvac. They did have a hot breakfast but I had a hard time finding something I wanted to eat. The waffle batter had a sour taste and I took a few bites and didn't finish it. I agree with other reviews that you need to stay in newer Best Westerns. I guess we got what we paid for.

This is an older BW. We have come to the decision that we will NOT stay at an older BW again. We should have known....you get what you pay for. First room we were put in looked and smelled as if we were in a "basement"...in the far back corner of the basement. We asked for and got another room. This one still had the "in the basement" feel but not so dark and dank. The mattress was uncomfortable. But the refrigerator worked nicely! All I can say about the rest of the room is that it was clean. One would think with all the competition from numerous other motels in town that this place would step it up a bit.

We stayed two nights at this hotel and had a great experience. Check-in was quick and easy. We were assigned a room on the first floor close to the lobby and didn't have any issues with noise. The room was clean and very spacious. There was a small refrigerator and microwave available in the room. The free breakfast was incredible, such a great variety (eggs, waffles, sausage, potatoes, bagels, etc) and it was included in our stay. The hotel is located on Main street so it's a very busy area. There are a lot of restaurants in the area that are walking distance. We would definitely stay here again.

This was the first Best Western that I simply could not actually stay in. We checked in, and I was a bit concerned. When we drove to where we would park, I simply had to just drive on off the property. Certainly not a family location. Men on the upstairs walk around leaning over the railing drinking beer, checking everyone out. Mainly work trucks and rough crowd. Sorry. Had to drive on.

I mostly chose this place because of the price. The beds were pretty small (a squeeze for 4 people) but that might have been my fault for not noticing that it was two doubles and not two queens. The breakfast left a lot to be desired, but served its purpose. The room was pretty small for us, and in the evening there was barely any parking.

This BW is older, smaller, and not up to their usual standards. The bed is comfortable, the staff is very good, but the rooms are shabby and in serious need of remodeling. Stay there if the price is right. Otherwise look elsewhere.

My kids are in nimmi and i was looking for someting very close to them. this hotel was perfect location for it, i had good time with my kids after so long, well that's what you get when you put your kids in military. i will back again some time in october. i will stay here again this will be my hotel until my kids graduate from nimmi

I was wrong, exterior property are great. I was able to park right infront of the room so it was easy for me to get my bags in and out easy. Lupe was very professional and polite. my stay was very good. yup i will recomend this hotel to my friends

Comfortable room, they provided all my needs, Sean helped me with printing my boarding pass he was very professional he deserve a raise, and restaurant next door was awesome I will stay here again when I come back to Roswell.

Staff was great. Room A/C worked very well as it was really hot when we were there. The staff went out of their way to help. The only thing was, the pool was not ready but I guess it was the beginning of the season. Near the tourist area. Great rates.

Hotel is well maintained. We spent only one night but it was comfortable and easy access to the area. The pool was not very inviting due to the location was close to the street. Price was reasonable to other hotels in the area.

The staff was very friendly, they even let me check in early. The room was clean and the beds really comfortable. And the breakfast was good as well. Very affordable too. Overall fantastic stay, would definitely recommend.

We stayed 2 nights and we're very satisfiede. Room was a bit small but very clean and updated. grandkids enjoyed the pool. It was a good size and very clean. Internet was a little slow Breakfast was good with a good variety to choose from. Would stay here again.

very pleased with this unit and there is an excellent Mexican restaurant next door. Our second visit and probably will be back next year.This is an older unit with direct exterior access but renovated, well maintained with new beds and furniture. Nice bath all well finished. We really liked the restaurant next door and by the parking lot full of cars with locan licence plates on a Wednesday evening the local reputation must be high too.

We stopped in even though the parking lot was full hoping for a room - and we did get the last one! Nice firm bed (slept great on it!) good water pressure, convenient location, friendly and helpful staff, 'normal' BW Breakfast. Nothing off or negative. We did not use the pool but it appeared to be clean and inviting. Several dining places within an easy walk for dinner.

We checked into the Best Western without a problem. The staff at the desk was very friendly and helpful. We got to the room and noticed it wasn't very clean - long black hair on the floor in the bathroom and complimentary items had not been replaced (a mostly empty shampoo was in the bathtub area). The doors in the hotel don't close all the way so there was a lot of light that shown in the room and lots of noise. A phone call was directed to our room at 5:30 in the morning, for the guest that had been there previously, which woke us. Then at 6am we heard a beeping sound going off from the room next door. We assumed someone didn't turn their alarm clock off. This went on for about 1 1/2 hours. After eating and coming back to the room I pushed on the door next door and the alarm quit going off. After testing it I dicovered that the Best Western had a safety feature that made the alarm go off continuously if the door was propped open instead of closed completely. This is a nice feature unless the person checks out and props the door open; therefore keeping everyone awake. The beds are extremely firm, and not comfortable at all. The breakfast was OK - not a huge variety. Next time we'll spend the extra money and stay someplace nice.

Stayed here for a night looking for Aliens - alas we found none. A two level complex of which we had an upstairs room. Room was large enough with a king bed and very clean. Staff at reception were very friendly and accommodating. Breakfast was included in the price which was all that was needed. Would recommend it to anyone.

I stayed here for two nights with a tour party. First night, cockroach in the bathroom (dead), noisy air con - twin bed. When I went to have a coffee in the morning, when I added the creamer it curdled, no coffee for me. The shower - I could not stop the bath running a little when I had a shower which didn't really bother me but it just felt like the place was a little run down. Second night, moved to a room down the back with a king bed. Must have been an upgrade as the air con was a lot quieter. Again though I did find a cockroach in the bathroom and the creamer curdled again when put into the coffee. Do not deprive me of my coffee. (I could have gone and got one with the complimentary breakfast but two days in a row, how fresh was the creamer?) It's not the closest to town either (walking distance but I'm sure there are close) Wouldn't rush back. Also there are no lifts so have to carry luggage upstairs if you are on the second level.

Decent, clean hotel rooms. The pool was lovely and staff are friendly. Plenty of parking. Our room had a mild sent of cigarette smoke from the guests upstairs on the balcony area which brought our experience down somewhat. Close to food outlets up and down the main road.

We received very little sleep due to the adjacent room checking in very late that night/early morning. We could not leave our room due to fear of safety issues. Yelling, cursing, banging of items(or possibly people) into the shared wall with our room. I called the front desk. Police finally came out. While the hotel can not necessicarily know the behavior of guests checking in/out, this issue should have been shut down a lot earlier. We will look to stay elsewhere if we ever return to Roswell NM.

This hotel offers clean, comfortable rooms at affordable prices. Amenities were the usual ones, and everything worked. Breakfast was also the usual items, and well tended to by hotel staff. We did not use the pool.

Bugs in room, dirty carpet, drugs found on the dirty carpet, and staff didn't care. Do not stay in this hotel. The staff seemed not to care. Roaches and spiders in the bathroom. We did not receive a apology from the staff.

We began the day with a walk/run even at Fort Apache, AZ and enjoyed opening ceremonies of the White Mountain Apache Heritage Festival. Leaving the Fort at noon, we drove over the mountains and desert to Roswell, NM. We arrived after sun set and we were tired. We were welcomed by the staff, and directed to our room. It was very comfortable. The bath was warm. The beds were wonderful! Breakfast, well, it was the usual fare. But the coffee was very good! Being refreshed and fed, we checked out and were on our way to Texas.

If you are traveling on a budget this hotel gives you a decent room at a good price. You can walk to an Applebees across the street and there is an excellent Mexican restaurant next to the hotel which gives a 10% discount to people staying there.

This is an older, well maintained property. The location us convenient to stores in the area. Staff was helpful & attentive. Breakfast room a little cramped, but clean. Very good mexican restaurant across the parking lot, hotel offers 10% discount there.

Good location, front desk staff was friendly and helpful. Good breakfast buffet and they made sure we had what we needed. Bed was comfortable, basic room. We were on a 9 day road trip and this staff was one of the standouts. Definitely would recommend.

We had a room here and it was clean, spacious and nice. The beds are very comfortable as expected. Sean was great at front desk. He even allowed us late checkout. Breakfast was good too...had a lot of different options to choose from. It was a pleasant stay and would like to continue in future. Very glad we chose this hotel for our stay!!

As a tired traveler you are looking for a comfortable clean and safe place to rest before continuing on your journey. This was that place. The front desk young lady was so accomodating and so was her manager, When I entered my room it was clean and the beds were very comfortable. The mini-fridge was concealed behind a cabinet and you had control over the temperature in your room. Shower was fantastic! Sufficient hangers for clothing and a great coffee maker. Free breakfast included waffles, eggs, and a choice of juices.

We got a room here after the Budget Inn in Artesia lost our reservation & had nothing else to offer (to our benefit!). We called this hotel & got a better room, nicer facility & better breakfast - for less money! Alexis at the front desk was super. We have very specific requests for rooms, and she gave us a couple of options from which to choose. Breakfast was good. The room was spacious, clean and nice. It did have a slight sulphur smell when we first arrived but it was not noticeable after just a bit. We are birders, so wanted to do a little birdwatching before we checked out. The manager, D Bhakta, allowed us late checkout, with a smile and assurance that it was no problem. We were only about 15-20 minutes later than normal checkout time, but it made all the difference to us for the day. He was accommodating and pleasant, & we felt very welcomed and taken care of. This will likely be our "residence of choice" whenever we are coming through Roswell, for the staff as much as the hotel itself. Very very happy!

Drove up and was thinking the exterior was not very appealing. Went into the room and was pleasantly surprised. The rooms have been upgraded with new furniture, ceramic tile and granite counter tops. The bed was very comfortable although the a/c was a little noisy however. The breakfast was good also. This hotel is a pretty good value for what was available in the area.

Overall great location and staff is always awesome! I have stayed at this hotel at least 50 times this year with no issue that wasn't resolved immediately! Parking is tight but that is easily overlooked when you lay down on the comfortable beds!!

This Hotel was defiantly the best stay for your dollar. I have stayed here four times this past year. It is always clean, great staff, and quiet. It seemed that the hotel was full but you would have never known it. I recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Roswell New Mexico.

The room was not very clean. The bathroom was dirty. The coffee maker was disgusting. The "free breakfast" was cold and in a cramped room. Just enough to get us out the door to go find a real breakfast. Will not stay here again.

We're traveling with our dog and were thrilled to find this pet friendly motel. The room was clean and well appointed. It's walking distance to plenty of places for both dinner and breakfast. The grounds were also clean and well lit.

This was a comfortable place and nice location. Good price as well. I will be staying in this place my next vacation trip. The room was clean and had great service. Parking lot was also big and spacious.

Room smelled of old cigerette smoke. It was probaly because of like a person 2 doors down was smoking alot outside his non-smoking room then goes inside the room with his clothes reeking of cigerette smoke. and that kind of odor likes to stay in the room especially when they sit in the uphostered chairs. Other wise the room was clean, beds comfortable. Pillows rather hard. Had only half the cable channels working. Someone parked a samll trailer in front of our room and it took 2 spaces. The parking lot is too small for that He could have park away from the rooms next to the pool or on the back side parking lot.

I had 3 rooms all of them were dirty and not cleaned properly each of them with their own problems. Their breakfast attendant Linda is rude she scoffed and told my family they had to share food because her microwaves were broken the food that was put out already was frozen my biscuit was so hard I could have used it as a weapon had to microwave to soften my omlet was frozen in the middle the only good about this place was their 2 front desk attendants Tiffany and Alexis.

Stayed at the best western in Roswell last night and being a best western employee they do not uphold best western standards Linda the breakfast attendant is rude. She said their microwaves were broken and we had to share our breakfast meal. Nothing was warm omlets were still frozen in the middle. We had a total of 3 rooms 270,271 and 272 each room was not properly cleaned. Caked dust on the headboard caked dust on the laps. Room 270 had a loft in it that was covered in trash and had 2 holes on the wall. 272 smelt like burnt hair and didn't look dusted. 271 smelled like smoke. The only nice person that actually stuck to the best western smiles motto was their morning attendant Tiffany. Attached is a picture of what the curtains in my room looked like.

Rooms are neat and clean, you can usually park outside your room door to make it easy to unload and load the car, and best of all they are very dog-friendly. We always stay here when travelling thru this part of New Mexico.

After long business days at work, hotel it right in the middle of town making it easy to get to anywhere you want to be. Very cozy and quiet, and bed is GREAT!!! Parking is a little cramped so once you find your space, I suggest staying in. Otherwise may have to walk a bit to your room.

I have to admit I was a little sketched out by the layout of my room. I had the room right above the office and it feels like a tiny apartment, which I was not expecting, but was OK with. The room itself was nice and clean, and despite the hotel being right off a main street, it was pretty quiet. The only complaint I had was that the air unit in the room was pretty loud and seemed to kick on about every 30 minutes to keep my room at a cool temperature. It seemed to disturb my sleep every now and again. Other than that I was pleased with my stay.

Older property, but well maintained, clean, quiet (solid concrete walls!), felt very safe. Breakfast was above average. The rate was super reasonable. Would definitely stay here again! Have stayed in similar hotels in Roswell, and this BW will be the one I look for again next time!

Room was clean and bed comfortable. ice machine right outside door was busy all night. Cat urine smell in far back corner of property by my room. Bathroom door swollen and would not close. Had to find maid to clean room at 1pm.

Stayed here one night. Place is very outdated. Room was small for 2 double beds and bathroom was too small for 2 people to be in same area at same time. Only good thing was Los Cerritos restaurant next door for great mexican food!

We stayed here about two years ago by accident as there were two Best Westerns and I thought I booked the other. This year, I again thought I booked the other. Well, now there is no other as it is a Belmont. The room was okay. Check in was smooth and easy. Breakfast room needs to be a bit larger. Not enough tables for their guests. This is not a BW Plus, but more like the lower end Best Western. Access is from the outside. Rooms were okay, but dated. The outside appears to have had a new paint job in the past two years. Morning came, and it was very difficult to sleep. This BW is used by area workers and the morning we stayed, one decided to start up his diesel truck and let it run until he was ready to leave, which was about 30 to 45 minutes later. I have no idea why, since it was not cold, so why the truck was running while the owner got ready or ate breakfast is beyond me, except that for a traveler who needs their morning rest for the day, it is very impolite to do this. Oh, and why a helicopter was flying low over the area late at night is also a mystery, or maybe I don't want to know. Also the same early the next morning. The location though is great as it does set towards the middle of the town. However, don't know if we would stay at this particular BW again.

We come this way at least a couple a times a year. Always stay here. Rooms are clean, Staff is very friendly. And that makes for happy guests, who are happy to talk to other travelers. They serve a hot breakfast, and the staff keeps the food coming, and the tables clean

Oder motel but very well kept. Great staff and good location. Excellent for the reasonable price. It was very clean, somewhat small rooms but very inexpensive. Try Farley's restaurant about 3 blocks toward downtown, awesome food.

We stay at lots of Best Westerns and this has been the worst. The first guest room smelled of sewer gas. The second room had no smell. You could see that it had been recently remodeled with new counter tops and decor. Still uneasy with the beam type ceilings and general appearance. Too late to try some place else

The room was ok in terms of facilities but it was very dated and in need of a makeover. The worst though was finding several small bugs crawling around the bath, as well as a previous guest's hair stuck to the side of it as well. The "high speed internet" didn't work at all. We tried 4 different devices and none would connect. Front desk confirmed the password used was correct but we simply could not get it to work.

We get there and there was no hot tub and the pool was closed. The room was quite small and the ac was weak. The tv was bolted to the wall so it was difficult for both of us to watch. They don't have a pet fee and that is wonderful! However, we returned from being gone all day looking forward to a nice clean room, come back and it hasn't been touched! I go to complain and the front staff (who were all incredibly sweet) said that the maid was scared to go in due to the dog. Now this I can understand however NO ONE contacted us to find out if the dog was there. They said that they called the room but no one answered..... because we weren't there! The breakfast was standard except no fruit and minimal options. The shining star had to be the staff, they were very hard working and helpful.

Staff was friendly. Breakfast was okay but the eating quarters were very cramped. Was satisfied with the room for the price. Room was clean but the toilet tank dripped. They gave us towels to put underneath so the the floor would not be wet.

I came to Roswell for a class reunion, and wanted something near our meeting site, as well as convenient to the rest of town. I remembered the "El Rancho" from my childhood so looked it up and found it to be well rated, and rightfully so. It has been kept up to date with nice amenities in the rooms, including a large refrigerator. The beds are super comfortable, and with free wifi, large screen TVs and many channels to watch in your spare moments, a home away from home. The staff is very friendly and professional, doing their best to make you welcome and taken care of. The breakfast is fresh and very good with lots of choices from waffles, cereals, eggs, sausage to biscuits and gravy. YUM Prices are very good, and there are lots of applicable discounts. Parking is a bit crowded but should be no problem with care. My four nights here were great.

Stayed here two nights. Room is clean and quiet and has a fridge. Not a 5 for a couple of reasons. 1 the toilet has a smell after flushing which closing the door eliminated. Parking while ample is strange. And the biggest egregious error is that there is ZERO information about area attractions which after the UFO exhibit are plentiful which we found out about to late. The included breakfast was up to BW standards with friendly staff and good coffee. Good value for the cost on the main road . Good place to stay but stop at visitors building to get info .

We love best western, and this was no exception. Room was very clean and comfortable. Could even smell the cleanliness of the sheets, which was really nice and reassuring. Wifi worked well. Lots of pillows, mattress very comfortable. Staff at breakfast, check in/checkout were very nice and helpful. Lots of choices for breakfast and staff was very attentive. The room was clean and comfortable. It was a little darker than I like, but it was only a one night layover, so it was fine. Breakfast room was large and breakfast was good. Staff was friendly and check-in was quick. Would definitely stay here again next time we are in Roswell.

It was reasonably priced and breakfast was great. The wi-fi worked great from the lobby, but not inside room 171. If a connection is important to you, avoid that room. Even my smartphone couldn't get a signal in there. The night clerk and the lady who provided breakfast did wonderful jobs. It was clean and well appointed.

We always stay at this BW when traveling through Roswell. We never look elsewhere ! Rooms are clean and the refrig is really large. Pool is nice. The only negative is that the coffee served with breakfast is terrible tasting.

My stay here was a decent experience for the price. My family drove here from Dallas, TX for a funeral and we needed to save money on our hotel stay. This hotel met the criteria. The overall staff was helpful and made our stay very comfortable.

Breakfast was well presented but bread was stale. People very nice. Only string negative was smell if dog poop outside on the grounds. Did not carry indoors.

Stayed here on our recent visit to Roswell. Room was clean and to the standard you'd expect from a US older style best western motel........if you're from uk and this Its your first time in a best western in the US, then forget everything you know about uk best western, they are nothing alike. Ok , that said, the hotel was clean and the breakfast was great as was the lady who was running the breakfast room. Internet was poor, it kept dropping the signal and front of house staff could do with some face to face customer service training. The girl behind the desk couldn't answer my husbands questions and when she did offer an answer, she turned and spoke to me, not him. I understand that some people are quiet and shy but maybe working front of house in a motel isn't the job for her. Lots of contractors stay at the motel, which is fine, but parking is a nightmare as car park is full of trailers and huge 4x4's and finding a parking space in the evening difficult. An older style motel with open verandahs. Good views from the upper level. The room was fine and the beds were comfy. Though on the main road the rooms were quiet. Breakfast was self serve in the dining room near reception. Options were the usual fruit cereal and waffles. Would stay there again

Place was clean and beds comfortable. Pool was adequate for this type motel and breakfast included waffle maker and eggs an bacon. Staff was very pleasant an accomodating. Prices were quite reasonable. If there was an area where it was below expectations it was road noise as we had a room very near Main Street

Overall the room was clean. Had a good internet connection. Better than most motels. Great breakfast. Nice size pool. Fairly easy in and out on main street. Most things located not to far from the motel.

Funds were a bit tight this summer so our vacation was budgeted for sure. I was surprised by the price on our room. Very affordable and very comfortable. The girls at the front desk were very nice and helpful. The breakfast was delicious. Everything was fresh and hot. Really we were very happy and I would dedinitely recommend the stay .

We stopped unexpectedly overnight, and I couldn't believe the price. Usually that means old, outdated facilities where one doesn't take shoes off! What a surprise--the pool was great, beds comfy, room exceptionally clean, fridge cold, and great breakfast. What more could the four of us (boys 10/7) ask for!

This is a fantastic place to rest. The rooms are beautiful and everything is in perfect condition. Not sure if I stayed in the newly remodeled part of the motel but I was very satisfied with my stay especially the price.

This hotel is too old, rooms are too small, breakfast was terrible. The rooms are in need of remodeling. They are very small, compared to other Best Westerns we have visited lately. Breakfast room is too small for the amount of people staying in the hotel. Air conditioner was so loud we couldn't hear the TV when it went on.

Clean rooms, good location, decent price. If you need a budget motel to spend the night and are a low maintenance person, this will do the job. Very comfortable king bed for a budget mote. Would stay again.

I liked this place. Great value and in loved how the room was wide and not long. The rest room and room to turn around. The vanity was seperate which is nice because it does not steam up. We also had a microwave ans fridge. So awesome!

This place was nothing fancy and could use some updates, but the staff was friendly. It was fine for a nights sleep. It would be nice to see some updates to the property. The pool was an added bonus as it was very hot when we got there.

Staff was very courteous and helpful. Rooms were adequate, beds were comfortable. Rooms at the end of the horseshoe away from the street were quiet. Close to attractions and good variety of places to eat.

Maybe because we were in a designated dog room, we were very disappointed... the place - an end room on first floor which we had requested, was so dark and dank looking. It was not very clean and had we not been exhausted after a long day of driving, we would have looked elsewhere. Minimal amenities... marginal breakfast options... but a Starbucks not too far so that was a plus.

My husband and I had to book several hotel nights almost last minute for a trip from California to Texas and one if our stops was in Roswell. There are several hotels on Main Street and they are all nice, however for a quick trip I prefer to pay less if I can and that is the main reason I chose the BW. It's in the middle if Main Street, not at one end of the other, with several restaurants to choose from. The rooms are clean and nice. Good choice for a quick trip.

I booked this hotel as the reviews I read were so good. We have not been disappointed at all. We have had 9 nights here. On arrival Alexis on reception was utterly Charming. Couldn't do enough for us. Breakfast was included in the price too. Fantastic value for money. The rooms have all the usual facilities. The microwave and fridge came in very handy. Housekeeping was outstanding and if we needed anything extra nothing was too much trouble. The rooms were kept immaculate. The outdoor pool was clean and my daughter loved using it. Thank you all. Highly recommend

Employees very friendly, rooms were clean and nice. Shower head actually had water pressure nice touch in a hotel. Had a wonderful stay and would stay again whenever we visit Roswell area again. Located close to amenities.

The room was very attractively decorated; very clean and the bed comfortable. We arrived late in the evening and the clerk was pleasant and efficient. We had a lot of luggage and were grateful for the luggage cart. We had requested first floor and that request was met. We stayed a second night because of bad weather ahead.

Rooms at the front (street side) are unacceptable and should never be rented. Stayed here many time but this turned me off. The staff was pleasant but there seemed to be no consideration to me advanced request for a room location.

Do not recommend! The girl at the front desk was pleasant but the room had a terrible or odor (she gave us some odor removal spray that didn't work) sounds coming out of the walls. Clean, comfortable, quiet although on the main highway in town. All the staff was very helpful and friendly including the cleaning crew. The breakfast was the usual cereal, waffle, yogurt lineup, although they had biscuits and gravy, which was good enough.

The room was quiet and comfortable with a very nice bed. The breakfast was very tasty and fresh. The room was a little musty smelling, but that went away after the air conditioner was on for a while. A nice, but not fancy place.

room was a bit small compared to other BW's i have stayed in, but it was cozy. wifi worked great. several choices to eat near by. parking was a bit challenging; there were "contractors" whom clearly had several vehicles, and a trailer they took up a precious space with. other than that it was nice.

This motel is a little dated, the in room coffee pots are kind of worthless. The bed was comfortable and the room was clean. The facility is quiet and the motel is conveniently located. We would definitely stay here again.

I was very happy with the staff, hotel, room and location as it was on the main drag as we were headed south through Roswell. We have stayed at many hotels and many brands of hotels in the last 40 years. We are always looking for a hotel that treats us well, has nice clean rooms and is a reasonable price. This Best Western fit our needs perfectly.

Great staff. Small badly appointed rooms. Four guests Three towels, one shampoo, no conditioner, no soap. Two hand towels. Three pillows per bed. The overall appearance of the hotel is fine. Clean enough. However, not a plus Best Western.

we arrived and our room was noisy from the rooms next door, the air con was incredibly noisy and the fridge was also noisy, it was dark as the window was facing a wall, the shower was a little weak and the swimming pool was closed. Could do better!!!!!!!

So I stayed here after I did Priceline 2.5 star express deal for 60$. Priceline said the hotel would be along the lines of a Hampton Inn or the lower level Marriotts. This best western is not in that category. What this hotel is is a very clean very friendly place to lay your head at night. The bathroom was nicely updated and so was the TV. However your door opens to the exterior which I do not really enjoy there is also no elevator and the pool was closed in April with the temperatures touching 90 degrees. They offered free breakfast that I did not try. If I paid going rate this place was 71 for the night and the Hampton was 107- with the pool being closed and the exterior door the Hampton would have been worth the extra 30 bucks.

We stayed in Roswell on our way to Texas and it was a nice clean room and it was quiet which was nice!!! We didn't hear any foot traffic at night and woke up refreshed. They also have a hot breakfast of omelets, sausage and waffles and muffins. The staff was very nice and took care of any needs that arose. It is also on the main street so you are close to a lot of the shops and attractions. If we ever get to Roswell again I'd definitely stay here!

nice looking hotel room besides we had found a few roaches one in the bed an in the shower said they would come spray but never did, only stayed for four days an continued to be charged by them a week after we left 500$ to 600$, i suggest if you stay with them pay with cash an if your a smoker like we are dont let them know even if you never smoked in the room (which we never did) they will claim they smell smoke an charge you the 100$ fee

I stay here for business and am always satisfied. The staff are cheerfully helpful in person and on the phone. If my company switched hotels, I would be very disappointed. Always great service and comfortable rooms.

The hotel was clean and check in was easy. Our room was available early and was your large with a comfortable bed. The hotel is located on Main Street, where pretty much everything is. Just a couple of blocks from the UFO museum.

The bed was very comfortable and the breakfast was excellent! There was biscuits and gravy which was delicious and sausage and eggs. There was a card in the room which recommended a local restaurant with a 10% discount on the meal.We went to that restaurant and it was well worth it.

Stayed at this hotel while driving to ruidoso for funeral. Was very convenient to and from ruidoso . Got an email for our billing which I really liked.. and the internet worked very well even though the hotel was full

I was a little disappointed with this motel. When I booked, I didn't realize it was a motel as opposed to a hotel. No big deal, but this one is kind of worn out. The door didn't close properly, leaving a gap for light and noise to enter. We pushed the heavy ottoman against the door to help close it better. We were on the second floor, and the metal stairs made a lot of noise as folks came up them. The rug, where it met the tile floor of the bathroom area, was starting to peel up. It looks like they tried to update the rooms, but on the cheap. Sloppy tile job, and the tub fixtures were all loose. So we're the switches for the lighting. The staff, however, was friendly, and the breakfast good. The rooms, while worn, were clean.

We stayed here on our way to California and we were traveling with a cat so this one worked for us since we needed pet friendly. We skipped the breakfast since it was only continental and there were many restaurants across the street from the hotel. It was clean, the beds were comfortable and the shower good. Parking was free and it felt safe there. All in all not too bad. Price was OK.

First room had 6 slow flying flies, in my book that means the flies are near death and have probably been in the room for a few days. Changed rooms, no problem. Second room also had slow flies! I Trapped them in the bathroom and kept the door closed. Last thing I wanted was a dead fly to land on me while asleep. Gross! Even though they were slow flying I still couldn't kill them because they kept going up high. Both rooms were super old and just not kept up. The door had a large crack in so you could hear the noise outside and see light. Just was a horrible experience. Didn't even take a shower the next morning because of flies! The breakfast was decent. Egg and cheese omelette, sausage and had a waffle machine. I will NEVER return to this old style fly infested motel! I learned my lesson. 20 bucks more I could have stayed at a newer Fairfield Inn.

Average stay. Not a final destination. Clean but a little shop-worn. Town is halfway to our destination in Colorado, so it is a good place to stay economically speaking. No real frills, but that was not our intention.

Passing through and stayed one night. Looks like they've recently remodeled rooms as ours was nicely done for this older hotel. Room we had was two queen beds, table/chairs, frig, miicro and tv. Sink was seoRate from tub/toilet. Shower had decent water pressure. Didn't stay for included brkfst. Paid $78 booked on hotels.com

Booked a room with 2 double beds at $64.79 plus tax. Upper level. What a positive surprise. After the small room we had for $85.00 at Best Western Socorro Hotel & Suites, the room at the Best Western Rancho Palacio was awesome and quite a change. Decent in size, modern in appearance and color scheme, large wet bar, large bathroom, spotless clean. Extremely friendly and helpfull front desk staff. Small (rather tiny) breakfast room (maybe 3 or 4 tables). Limited choice, but we did not leave hungry and we were so lucky with our room and the great rate. Overall a fully satisfactory stay. If ever in the area I would definitely stay there again. Highly recommended.

The Best Western Palacios in Roswell, New Mexico is a wonderful place to stay. It is located north of 19th street in the heart of the motel/restaurant business area about a mile south of the Mall in Roswell. I had to stay a night with a family member for an outpatient medical procedure. On previous visit while attending a JUCO baseball tournament or the Roswell Jazz Festival; the accommodations have been fabulous. My traveling companions and I have always met the best people from across the country while staying at the Palacio. This stay was no exception. The difference, to my great delight, was the Palacio accepts pets. I have always noticed on previous stays that there are a number of dog walkers always around the Palacio, but I figured that was because of the Palacio's landscaping; not because the motel accepted pets. This is exceptional great because many older travelers to not like to be without their four legged companion for more than a couple hours at a time. The pet care fee is nominal; under $5. If one has not travelled to Roswell, New Mexico it is a wonderful place to visit. It is a perfect option for attending activities in nearby communities. Roswell has amenities and activities suitable for a city of one hundred thousand without the traffic congestion. Throughout the year many of the surrounding communities have nationally and internationally recognized events, but those communities have few accommodations for visitors and travelers. Roswell can accommodate the excess without the traveler spending excess time in a vehicle. The longest driving time to a surrounding community event is 1 hour 15 minutes driving time. The yearly events around Roswell are: The Lincoln County days in Lincoln in June, The All-American Futurity in Ruidoso on Labor Day Weekend; Alien Days on the July 4th weekend in Roswell. October is a busy month for the Roswell-Ruidoso area. There are two major events in Ruidoso the first two weekends in October and on the third weekend there is an international event in Roswell. The first weekend in October host the kick off weekend for the Aspencade. There is a parade, car show, cruise, and chili cook-off. The second weekend in Ruidoso is the Cowboy Symposium. The Roswell Jazz Festival is on the third weekend in October. Come visit southeastern New Mexico the weather is wonderful and the people are hot. Or vice versa. Upon your visit to Roswell look for Eli's Bistro on West 2nd Street across from the Sonic. He serves pizza slices that takes two people to eat and authentic cheesesteak sandwiches that are fabulous. We needed a place to stay in Roswell, going home from Grand Canyon family vacation. Called and they only had couple of rooms left. Sweet lady took my CC info and held room for us. It was clean, clean, clean. Felt like a brand new bed, so comfortable and clean. The sheets felt and looked new. The breakfast was good and we were on the road headed home by 9 the next morning after a great nights sleep.

Room was ready, clean and as expected. Bed was comfortable. Breakfast was very good and prepared well. Great value. Hotel is located near other dining and the staff was very helpful. I would stay here again when passing through.

This hotel is conveniently located near restaurants. It was clean and the staff were helpful. I would recommend this hotel to others. I would stay there again. The breakfast had variety and had both hot and cold variety. It was clean and fully stocked. I was allowed to utilize the express check out. My room was cleaned every day. The gym had new and clean equipment. The swimming pool is indoor.

My wife and stayed for a Friday. The room was excellent. It has a refrigerator and a microwave. The room is on the small side, but adequate for two people. The sink and mirror are separate from the toilet and bath tub, which is convenient for getting ready in the morning. The hotel has a continental breakfast but I didn't try, only for coffee. The hotel is located near NMMI and many places to eat.

Stayed here as part of a 21 night road trip and I have to say that most of them had a free breakfast, but this one was the worst. Everything looked like it was cooked hours ago and a poor selection. I had a glass of OJ and left. The room was comfortable and I slept well.

Room was clean, well stocked, and was obviously well maintained. Everything worked and parking wasn't a problem. Breakfast was the usual fare: eggs, meat, gravy, waffles, etc, but was fresh and tasted good. Breakfast room was clean and well maintained. Staff friendly and helpful. We were there 5 days and we were very comfortable and enjoyed our stay. Would definitely recommend!

Decided to make a pit stop in Roswell after 8 hrs of driving called ahead and they had one vacancy, a king, I took it. Best decision to recharge to continue my long trek back home and the breakfast definitely energized me with an omelette, sausage, potatoes, and waffle.

Hotel is at a nice location in town, across from restaurants and the stores are not to far away. Seems to always be packed with no vacancy by 8pm, very friendly staff and always willing to help. Pool was waiting for anyone to take a dip in. Very nice place to stay if you are out for a weekend.

Thie hotel is rather old and it shows it years. It is clean and well maintained. There are several dinings chiccies in the local area. The staff is friendly and helpful. The breakfast items are of the n\\\\orm. Would stay here agaiin .

El Rancho Palacio is a very good place to stay. The amenities are normal with every other places to stay. It was very inexpensive and well served our needs as well traveled to our new home in Arizona from Texas.

I've stayed here twice and this last time I wasn't too happy with my stay. The room I checked in to was a double bed room with double size beds because they didn't have a single queen available. The bed was comfortable but with two beds in the room it felt cramped. The decor and setting was a little older and the hotel was older as well. The room didn't feel like a conventional hotel room and the table in the middle of the room was just in the way. The location was good, located in the middle of town. Wifi was terrible and was so slow it took hours to upload data to my works website. I also stream tv and the Internet was not fast enough to stream anything. I was located above the office so there is no reason that the Internet should be that bad. Parking was okay on nights that the hotel was slow but on a Friday night at 10:30 I had nowhere to park my truck. I had to park by a curb by the lobby. I'm not likely to stay at this hotel again.

They have a great breakfast for free every morning, not just muffins and cereal. Our room was clean and they had a big refrigerator for snacks and cold drinks. I suggested on-demand movie service or a DVD player for movies for kids or adults.

We didn't get to the hotel until very late. We were exhausted and just wanted to get some sleep. Although I had reserved a room with two beds, I asked for a king and was told that was what I had. That was not true. The room was very basic. The curtains were red with a green topper. The ceiling was unfinished and varied in color. Light was out at the sink. Bag of trash sat outside of our room all day. I would pay a little extra money and stay somewhere else.

We've stayed here many times over 5 years. Always pleasant and the location is great. My only complaint is the rooms seem to be "aging" and need some cosmetic improvements. This will not stop us from staying there as we've always liked the place. Just a suggestion.

Best Western is always my first choice, the beds are so comfortable! ! Our room was clean and comfortable. The staff recommended a great restaurant within walking distance. The room was very quiet and served our purpose.

Not the usual "continental breakfast." Full buffet and waffles with good coffee. Small breakfast area clean and well-staffed. Check-in and check-out were quick and painless. Room was clean and everything worked, including the wifi. What more do you you want? O yea, the room rate was a good deal. It's not new, but appears to be well managed.

I can say this is one of the better choices in Roswell. The value is excellent and the room was very nice. Parking is convenient and easy access to the room. Security does not seem to be a question with adequate lighting in the parking area. All in room amenities are better than average. The staff could work on their people skills however.

The room was comfortable and had a fridge and microwave. The Wi-Fi worked well. There was plenty of parking. The breakfast was good. The UFO Museum was only 2 miles away. You can visit Carlsbad Caverns in 2 hours. This is a must to see. Plenty of restaurants close to the Hotel.

Didn't expect much in this "space-alien" town. So very pleasantly surprised when we entered the room at the end of the building! It has a bit of a cathedral ceiling and the room is the perfect size to be very comfortable. The decor has clean lines and is contemporary. My husband plopped himself into the armchair and sighed, "This is so comfortable..." The king-size bed is not too soft and not too firm. The bathroom is spacious. There is a desk, tv, microwave, refrigerator (enclosed in the cabinet), two night tables, an end table beside the armchair, an ottoman, two luggage racks, four lamps. Air conditioner works perfectly. And everything is clean, clean, clean! Some shoe prints especially inside the door, but the room is clean! Wish every hotel room in this price range was just like this one.

Average hotel, rooms are small but it was clean. Seemed to have some maintenance issues which needed to be addressed. i.e A/C and door handle problems. They were kind enough to move me to another room. Good breakfast

Really a great hotel for the price. The room was big and clean, the pool was nice, and the breakfast was good, too. We liked having a microwave and refrigerator in the room, too. I would have expected to pay more anywhere else.

Everything was good with the exception of our air conditioner not functioning properly. Notified hotel staff but were unable to do anything about it. Other room was on a different floor level and not doable. Good value for the money though and good breakfast the next morning.

Traveling with my husband and two small boys aged 7 and 6. We stopped in Roswell for one night on our way north. We chose this hotel off of Expedia as it had pretty good reviews and was great value. Check in fine, room was clean and beds / pillows were comfortable. We used the pool for around an hour at 6pm, which was great after a day driving. Location is good - we walked into town for dinner. This hotel is dated. They have modernized some areas but missed others. The breakfast room is small and gets busy, but it's clean and the food is fresh and was replenished frequently while we ate. For the money, this hotel is great, but don't expect modern.

This is a hidden gem of a motel. The check-in staff was friendly and welcoming. Had a second floor room that was very clean and nicely furnished. Linens were all new; white bedspreads, etc. This place really "gets it!" Granite countertops, bathroom was "motel style," but nicely appointed with new fixtures. RFID proximity door locks, new and very secure. Outdoor entrances, but that was preferred as we were traveling by car. I have stayed in hotels that cost a LOT more, but in few that cared as much as these folks do.

This is an older Best Western property and all of the rooms have outdoor entrances (think motel). I was a little Leary about staying here due to the outside appearance. I was pleasantly surprised when we checked in. The check-in staff was friendly. The rooms have been updated and have new, fresh bedding and linens. It does have the older, unit type air conditioning. Our room tended to stay a little on the warm side, but it wasn't a big issue. The continental breakfast was the typical fare...waffles, yogurt, muffins, and a few hot items. The seating area for breakfast is a little small. The hotel also has a very small business center (room). I would stay again if I was in town.

I was very pleasantly surprised by what I found here. It is an older building but don't judge this book by that cover. The room was updated, clean and comfortable. The beds had soft linens and the mattress was very nice. The staff was friendly and helpful and the hotel is located in very close proximity to a lot of restaurants. To top it all off, the breakfast was surprisingly good. I would classify this hotel as a hidden gem. Would definitely stay here again.

We stayed here for one night, check in was ok and friendly, the room was overall ok it was clean and the beds were very comfortable, but it was very dark and the bathroom was through a lobby area which was a bit weird. The breakfast was ok a typical buffet. The swimming pool was lovely and cool really appreciated as it was really hot.

The hotel was nice, room was comfortable & clean, didn't try the pool although it looked nice, the Wi-Fi was poor with a weak signal at the best of times, its a good central location surrounded by good eats & is only 5 minute drive from the main hub of Roswell. If i came back to Roswell i might be convinced to stay here again although there was another Best Western just down the road which looked slightly bigger & newer.

Always nice to walk into a clean room with good beds after a day on the road! Within walking distance of several restaurants. Could walk "downtown" if it wasn't 107 degrees... The pool was nice and refreshing. And the breakfast selection was okay. Found a great price online, so well worth the money!!

The Best Western we stayed at in Roswell, NM was a great experience! We left my sons blanket in the room and the blanket was sent by UPS. They were very helpful! I highly recommend Best Western El Rancho Placio. It is very convenient when traveling through Roswell.

I rented two rooms for both my kids and their spouses for two nights while visiting me in Roswell. The rooms were next to each other and the staff were quite accommodating and the price was quite nice

This hotel is small, but offers a great amount of comfort and convenience. Employees are courteous and accommodating. The only problem we had was a heavy-duty door that beeped everytime we opened it, but that was resolved by a call to the front desk. The breakfast here was exceptional.

Bed was comfortable and clean. Room was satisfactory and had a refrig. Towels were rough and thin, TP was not fit to use. Tub water spout was about to fall off and someone had used caulk around it to hold it to the wall. (wasn't working, it will fall off for next guest) Would not recommend this to friends. But was worth the money for one quick night sleep. Breakfast was hot food and was okay.

The reception gal was friendly and helpful. It appears to be an older property that hasn't been renovated in a while, so the bathroom was a little run-down. Room was clean. The television channel at breakfast was Fox News, which my husband and I don't like. The eating area was a little small and cramped. I gave it an overall good review, though, because it's a convenient location, and we had a pleasant stay.

Very nice place! Clean, rooms are adequate, beds great....everything you need. Very reasonable. We really like the old style "motor courts" and have been staying in them whenever we find them. They are so convenient and car is right outside. This place has a great and pristine pool!! You need it in Roswell...it gets very hot. Pool towels are provided. Motel breakfast typical small fare but a restaurant right next door.

Booked hotel last minute. It was very affordable so I was weary of quality. However I was pleasantly surprised. Comfortable and clean room with mini fridge and microwave. I stayed on 2nd floor and enjoyed the vaulted ceiling. Very kind front desk staff. Complimentary breakfast was nice. Plenty of parking.

The staff was polite and friendly and the check-in process was smooth and quick. The room was exactly what I had reserved and it was clean and the bed was comfortable. Also, the price I reserved the room at was the price that I was charged at checkout. Breakfast was really good and was well-stocked and there was a good variety. The hotel was very full so the only complaint was that it got a little crowded at breakfast.

I'm not picky when it comes to hotels. I don't want to spend a fortune and I want a hotel to be clean and comfortable. PROS: the room was clean and adequate. The price reasonable for the area. There's a good Mexican restaurant next door and Denny's and Applebee's across the street. It's near main street. CONS: Our room had a very subtle smell to it. Not sure what it was. Very disappointed with breakfast - no half and half, real butter or bagels. They did have fresh fruit which is nice. Tables and food area had not been cleaned so we sat at a dirty table though we counted ourselves blessed to have a table. There was an empty beer or soda bottle and butts next to our door though the other areas looked clean. Anyhow, the hotel is adequate for one night though I'd probably pass on this one.

Clean rooms with the heat already on! Although it is a "motel" (walk up rooms with doors that lead outside) it has great beds and pillows and is pretty soundproof. Rooms include a good sized mini-fridge and microwave. Would definitely stay again!

This room was overpriced in my opinion - $80 with AAA rate. Would be worth it if the property wasn't so outdated. You could hear everything around you. To make it worse the room was very dirty; was a nonsmoking room that reeked of cigar smoke. Not a comfy stay at all.

I stayed at this hotel for a week while day-hiking in Carlsbad Caverns National Park, Guadalupe Mountains National Park, Lincoln National Forest, and other nearby day trips. The room was extremely affordable, comfortable, and clean. I didn't really interact with the staff but they greeted me cheerfully each morning at breakfast. Breakfast is a typical continental breakfast but that wasn't really important to me. I would definitely recommend this hotel for any stay you might have in the area.

Enjoyed our stay here, the staff who we dealt with were great, friendly,professional and helpful, rooms were very clean and tidy, had every thing we needed,breakfast was good, handy to many restaurants, would stat again.many thanks to the staff.

This property is generally good both in service and facliities and delivers good value. However, they do not enforce enough the no-smoking rule. Both our rooms reeked of smoke when we entered them and had to move out of one room entirely, without any argument. Plus other clients there were smoking profusely with door to their room open which allows smoke to enter. Better to have smoking area designated at least 50 feet from motel rooms.

There was a construction crew working by the poo; area that had their radio blasting till 9:00pm in the evening and back again the next day at 9:00. The beds in the room were definitely older. Although the pillows were comfortable.

This was my second year in a row to stay at the Best Western El Rancho in Roswell and I'd stay there again next year! Love the place and they're very dog friendly! Their breakfast in the am is a full one and it was prefect before we'd head out to hunt New Mexico's quail. I'd strongly recommend staying there when you're in Roswell!!

Our room was comfortable during our single night stay but the bathroom was so small. It was hard to move around in and I kept hitting the sink with my hips. It is not a place for larger size people to stay because you would definitely not like the bathroom at all. It was close to the UFO Museum which my husband wanted to check out and breakfast is the normal BW.

The motel is adequate, clean rooms, friendly helpful staff. The breakfast is not bad and offers fresh fruit which I appreciate. I stay at this motel each time I come to Roswell which is about two time per year.

Over all the value and location of the property was good, Would refer others to this property and any best western. All best western properties are good quality and offer great deals and amenities during your stay.

On our way east we stopped in Roswell for some alien searching. When we first got to the hotel it seemed a little run down. There were a bunch of workers hanging around some shipping containers which worried us a little. I guess the workers got picked up and it became quite. The room was small. It had a little "kitchen" area and the bathroom, even though it was updated, was small as well. Clean room though and comfy beds. Not much to do in town in December if you have a dog with you. I'd stay here again.

We stayed over one night driving through. Being tired, we didn't check out things to do in the area. The motel is conveniently located near many restaurants and shopping. The room was pleasant, bright and clean. The area quiet and the bed very comfortable with nice linens. Plenty of hot water and shower and bathroom area clean. Overall, the rooms could be updated, but for a good nights sleep, we would definitely recommend.

We have stayed at this hotel before and it has never disappointed us. The room is very clean-the bed is one of those "to die for" Best Western beds. The breakfast is great with lots of choices including many hot items. The location is great too-right in Main St. - close to everything.

PROs: Clean establishment. Good outside appearance, clean and comfortable rooms. Beds and laundry was above average Needs Improvement: Parking lot is very small for number of rooms. Had trouble parking truck and tailer. Breakfast area was very small for the size of the crowd. Had to wait to find a seating spot at 7:30 am. Staff were very nice and easy to talk with. they tried hard.

This one was great. Pretty, clean, good breakfast, and nice staff. My room was perfect, can't think of anything else I needed. Very quiet though situated on the main road. Didn't need wifi so couldn't comment on that.

My friend and I stayed here for 3 nights in October during our 5 week road trip. We got an early check in and found the room to be clean, comfortable and had everything we needed. The room is a very decent size. The free breakfast had a good selection plus hot food. Great location on the main street and ample parking. The only problem we experienced was the smokers in the next couple of rooms would be on the balcony/walkway most of the night and were quite loud. Would definitely stay here again when I come back to Roswell!

We spent one night here on a road trip. There are two Best Western Motels in town and they are almost directly across the street from each other, so be certain of which one your reservation was made with. Rooms are large enough, clean, smell fresh, and beds are comfortable. We complained to the front desk clerk of a yapping dog in the room above us, & the problem was resolved almost immediately. The hotel reached full occupancy that night so the breakfast area was over-flowing with guests. They could use a larger seating area.

Room was clean, but bathroom was small. The wifi in our room did not work. We were tucked in a corner. When I travel, wifi is important. Staff was friendly. Would I stay here again.... Only if the aliens are there as well.

Not really much to say about this hotel. It's a place to sleep. The room was small and dimly lit. The staff was nice though and can't really complain about the price either. It's on the outskirt of town - well Roswell isn't very big so I guess it's in the heart of Roswell :). There was free breakfast though - had a waffle maker, some cereal, eggs, toast, and some sausage.

The room was small and in a kind of creepy corner. The bathroom was very cramped. The room was also pretty hot and stuffy. Outside of the room smelled awful. But honestly Roswell smelled pretty bad all over. The service was good and the front desk person was extremely nice.

I like BW Hotels, and this was a nice one! Enjoyed the Lobby...Very Nice...but the rooms are why you stay. My room was very comfortable, nice fluffy bed....but the wireless internet was a bit lacking in connectivity. Breakfast was great! And the location here offers several nice options for dinner without having to drive anywhere. Price was great too....a really nice value.

The hotel was very nice. It was difficult to get in to the parking area off of Montano and the frontage road. The room was very nice and modern. However, the bed was too firm and I had an extreme backache as a result. The breakfast area and food were excellent. I give that a high mark.

Pleasant, newly decorated. GREAT Value. Good location in town. Easy access, with not too much traffic. Nice new furnishings in the room. Very caring staff. Fairly small motel. Very helpful in recommending restaurants, attractions, directions and location of Starbucks.

We stopped here on our way through Roswell and were very happy with our stay. The staff was friendly and helpful, the rooms were clean and the beds were comfortable! Pet friendly and plenty of parking for larger vehicles too! The only downside I found was the lack of elevator. Our room was on the second floor and if you are traveling with a lot of luggage or equipment it can be a struggle lugging everything up two flights of stairs.

Hotel was very nice and the service was outstanding. The breakfast in the morning was also very good. Staff was very helpful in providing information about were to eat and how to find alien museum in Roswell. Would stay there again.

The room was ok. It needs a deep cleaning though. The bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was spacious, but had very little area to sit on the toilet comfortably. The breakfast looked good but the seating was very scarce so I ate elsewhere. If you're looking for a place to rest your head for one night this is probably a good bet

We were very pleased with our two day stay here. The rooms were clean and spacious. The beds were very comfortable. The breakfast had a variety of warm and cold foods. Its located centrally to just about everything in town. It gets a 4 star because although its pet friendly, there was only a narrow strip of grass on a busy road to walk them. If you have no dogs to walk, then its a 5 star hotel.

We stayed here from reading other reviews. Very disappointed, we checked in at 7:40 pm and the parking lot was already full, so nowhere really to park. Was told we were upstairs to the right, but they failed to inform us that the stairs were broken so we had to use the other side. Parking is at a premium, so get there early. Room was nice only complaint there was the water pressure in the shower (or lack of). Was woken up 4 times in the night of what sounded like helicopter hovering overhead. My final opinion is this is a good emergency stay but not if you want to relax and wind down.

We use Roswell as a stop over on our trips from south Texas to Colorado. This fall we decided to stay at the Best Western El Rancho Palacio going and coming, and it did not disappoint. We are budget travelers, but are careful to stay at decent places for the price. The rooms were quite clean, cute, and the beds comfy. All rooms were equipped with soap, shampoo and lotion. In addition the rooms also had microwaves, fridge, coffee maker, ironing board, etc. There was a choice between a hot, cold or both breakfast. Check in was friendly, and check out fast. There room cards are different, though, and the check in clerk should ask if you know how to use it. Overall we were very satisfied, and will surely stay here in trips to come.

Stayed at the Best Western 2 nights and I had no problems it was clean and the staff were great and very helpful as I had no vehicle so I walked a lot and it was the best I felt safe and met some incredible people. I personally had no problems staying at a cheaper hotel why waste my money when the cheaper option was great.

My husband had a stroke while we were on vacation, hotel went out of their way to make me feel comfortable. The room was spacious, clean and the bed was comfortable. Hotel owner, Mr Patel checked on me. The motorcycles were also okay.

I decided to stay in Roswell and ride over to Ruidoso for the sept bike rally. Rooms are much cheaper in Roswell and the ride over to Ruidoso is really great. I read the reviews on trip advisor and picked this 1, and I am thrilled I did! The staff was very nice and professional, pointing out interesting places to visit during my stay. My room was great! I had a double bed room and it was the best bed I have ever slept on! The room is large, fully equipped fridge, microwave, hair dryer, iron & ironing board! Lots of hanging space in a nice dressing area-large bathroom with powerful shower ( the shower head is a bit high) the only strange thing was the placement of the toilet next to a tall granite topped sink. If you were a large person it might be a problem but no big deal & I am far from skinny lol!, plus it was a tall toilet! There is a table with 2 chairs that made it easy to work, as well as a very nice flat screen tv. I was pleased to see the 'clean remote' holder and remote (as seen on hotel impossible!) The parking lot is nice and well lite. The pool is nice and has door key access, as does the ice machine. The breakfast was good, I tried the omelets but I don't care for the cheese, the sausage and sausage gravy and hash browns were good, as well as the waffles- a lot of choices for free! I was traveling alone and felt perfectly safe. There are lots of thing to do other than the UFO places, but the UFO museum is just fun! Lots of great restaurants and if you like an alcohol drink back in your room, Roswell is dry on Sunday.( But they do have a small selection at the Truck stop right on the edge of town) The grocery store has a salad bar, deli, and very nice wine selection. Use bottled water in the coffee pot! and enjoy your stay, I certainly did!

Based upon other reviews, I expected more.... First negative, the pool was closed during our visit. We booked the hotel understanding it had a pool and our kids were looking forward to it. We arrived to find it was closed for the season. That wouldn't be a big deal, but it was over 90 degrees outside and has been for weeks! We prepaid so no refunds, and no flexibility on that. Room was small and cramped. Minimal amenities in room and parking lot felt unsafe. Better resembled a 1.5 or 2 star hotel at best.

I stayed in Roswell rather than Ruidoso, Nm because the rooms and amenities are much cheaper. My room was immaculate and very nice and the bed was fantastic! The staff very friendly and helpful about restaurants and points of interest in Roswell, as well as the UFO places. The Museum of Modern Art was great! As a woman traveling solo I felt perfectly safe.
