My husband and I had our truck and trailer. We parked near the front since my husband is handicapped. We were asked to move because we were parked in “usual” customers' parking spots. This was an absolutely ridiculous demand from the front desk clerk. We moved our truck and trailer approximately Less than 15 yards from where we were originally parked. We wouldn't be staying here EVER again!
When you walked into the lobby you could see and smell a very clean hotel. Very Friendly staff. Very clean and room. I would highly recommend this hotel.
Very nice staff rooms clean breakfast was hot could do better with the fruit. The was small but had everything neede to get a good workout , easy room access and asked for room on lower floor and received it.
Very nice hotel, breakfast was great with fresh food and eggs cooked right. Staff were very accommodating and helpful. Good location, area felt safe, rooms were nice and comfortable. They took pride in keeping everything clean, had coffee through out the whole day, and evening.
1.Place looks great but for me it was a smelly place all around2.Elevator looks like they past a oily cloth to clean it 3.Rooms is nice and organized though it had a weird smell 4.Food is ok pool is ok Will i come her again nope
We usually choose Best Western where ever we go , so we were pleased that our first time to Port Lavaca there was one . Choosing Best Western again was the best choice with location , smiling faces and very helpful staff! The manager Ms. Jennifer was exceptionally awesome ! She helped our first time in Port Lavaca be a great experience and were treated like family. . We look forward to returning to this location soon !
The staff are extremely helpful. All the questions I ask they take the time to listen and answer them. They display top level amount of respect when talking to them. I went to check in at midnight which sometimes can be troublesome at other places with staff being tired or slow during the night. With this best Western when I walked in the front desk attendant was ready to help me right away. She even walked me through on setting up my account the for the first time.
Great customer service, great choice of breakfast and staff very helpful Rooms clean / spacious Housekeeping did excellent in room on cleaning Also helpful answers whenasked for great restaurants in area
The rooms are big, there's a pool, the rooms are inexpensive but clean. The last time we stayed, housekeeping knocked loudly on our door at 8:30 AM on a Sunday however. Ugh. There's a free breakfast, and they even have almond milk.
Room was comfortable, breakfast was average, Tv remote didn't work, staff not the best, did not respect the ‘Do Not Disturb' Sign left on the door. We slept in during the day and they assumed no one was in the room. Fortunately we were decent!
I didn't stay here one night I booked. I did stay here later that week. They still charged me for the night I didn't stay. The hotel staff was unpleasant, they would not refund me for the night I didn't stay, and the pricing is a little high for how out of date and dirty the building is. I will make sure no one from my outfit or my contractors don't stay here while in town building a couple substations for the next year or two.
The room was super clean and very relaxing! All the staff members had excellent customer service! The whole hotel looks to be remodeled and everything in room is updated! Breakfast in the morning, very nice set up!
I don't know if they were hit hard by the "pandemic" or are just going broke. The room I had was filthy. Unfortunately, I checked in, dropped my bags and headed out for business. When I finally got back to the room later that evening and turned the lights on, I was appalled by how filthy the room was. I brought back dinner and put it on the table and the table was dirty, with bits of food and debris. I had a disinfectant wipe from my flight and wiped the table off. When I sat on the couch to eat, the front legs collapsed. There were at least 3 dead cockroaches on the carpet, and some other small bugs in the bathroom. There were two long black hairs on the bathroom floor. It just didn't look like much effort was made in vacuuming and cleaning. Very disappointing for a BW hotel. Motel 6 maybe, BW, not.
There were a few things that could have been better, like the pillows were small compaired to the bed, but I would recomend staying here to anyone. Their price was way better than I have seen elsewhere and I feel like the quality was on par with the others in area. Definitely great place to spend a vacation.
Had a great experience once again . Very friendly and helpful. My family had a great time swimming and just hanging out and used the bbq area was a great weekend on the beach . Will be back again soon
Overall, I had a great experience with the; staff was incredibly helpful, and the amenities were great. The room was wonderful, clean, and perfect to celebrate a birthday weekend. I have stayed at dozen of hotels in . This was on the top of the list of best stays/experiences ever. Staff was very hospitable and there for every need of mine. Break fast was awesome.Thank you so much.
large room with seems newly renovated, comfortable beds. early breakfast s always plus, 24 hours coffee, staff was nice and attentive. price was high but i think it is everywhere now. will come back next week
The price seems to change on a whim from day to day. The breakfast is OK if you get to it early, if you show up late the area is a pig pen with empty containers of OJ and Milk. The rooms are clean but one week I was given room 209 and it had a terrible odor to it. All the employees were nice. I just don't think I will be back it is not a $150.00 a night type of place.
The room was not clean and the tub was gross. On top of that the floor had holes in it do not Recommend this hotel the only good about this place was the staff. So if you go to port lavaca do not stay here
Meranda was busy with two separate customers. And I came in behind them irritated from a different hotel with trash service and trash rooms. She was very patient and got all 3 of us customers checked in quickly and efficiently. She went above and beyond and handled it like a boss. With mine being last minute, no prior reservations, it was pleasant surprise to get my key so quick. Meranda was very informative about surrounding area restaurants and activities. She literally saved the day because I was exhausted beyond measure from driving for hours on end. She could have politely cut me off from venting but she took it all in stride and it was smoothest process to date! Please give Meranda a bonus!
I waited over 30min for someone to do my late arrival and no one never came out to do so. I called the main customer service line and they didn't get an answer either from anybody at the reception desk.
I've stayed in Port Lavaca at multiple hotels and the services is horrible. Hospitality needs to be taught. But when we visited this last time it surprised me. Our first time at Best Western and it was astonishing. The young lady working front desk, Meranda, was so sweet. She made sure we enjoyed our stay. The rooms were great and thank god the bed was comfortable. Definitely staying there again..
Room was very clean. Bed linens were clean and fresh. Front desk was very nice and helpful. Breakfast was hot and fresh. Bacon, sausage, eggs, and potatoes. We enjoyed our micro fridge. Good location in Port Lavaca, Texas. We would love to stay at this motel again
The day before I got there I was told that the air conditioner had problems it was leaking into the room and not draining out. When I went to close the curtain to the room my feet got wet the floor was still wet. I told him about it and they exchange the unit. But the road and gotten wet very wet and the stench was terrible. I bought some air fresheners and they told me they were going to shampoo it I don't know if they did or not but I couldn't take the stench anymore and I went to another hotel
This hotel is the most disgusting hotel I have ever stayed at! Changed rooms twice, and if it wasn't so late at night, I would've left! The room I ended up in contained these jaw-dropping features that you can't get at any hotels in the area...the first shocking feature was the blood on the ground in the bathroom! If you are looking for a sketchy, spook don't wait for Halloween, take a visit here any time of year! The second feature is human excretion on the sheets! This hotel is so spooky that someone wet the bed, and the cleaning crew leaves it to prove that they do a great job of doing nothing! The third feature is the floating friends in the bath tub! Shoutout to the guest before me in room 119 that took a shower, I really appreciated seeing all the floating bacteria in the bath tub! After draining the tub, I had to wipe my hand off and I found the final spook of my stay, someone's face of makeup on my towel! This hotel should get 5 stars in water conservation because they never wash the towels or sheets between guests. Essentially, this is the dumpster fire of Port Lavaca. If you are traveling through town, keep your foot on the gas and speed trash this place! *I am not able to upload the videos of this place due to this website, but corporate will be seeing them!*
Best Western Port Lavaca has had warm customer service staff every time I have stayed there. (about once a year). They quickly handle issues in the event anything comes up. They offer advice of local things to do in the area and places to eat, should one ask. Breakfast area is as good as it can be during COVID, so all OK.
Housekeeping did not knock both mornings and just opened the door wanting dirty towels. To me it could have waited that morning till either checkout or afternoon if people were going to be out and about .
This hotel was dirty smelled like an old wet basement and had so many stains on the furniture and cobwebs in the corner of the room and baseboards that were stained with something very gross and the door frames looked like they've been touched by everyone in the world with filthy hands there was enough pee around the bottom of the toilet that we had to lay towels around it so we would be sure not to come in contact it was just horrible!!!
Front desk was awesome. during covid 19 many hotels don't do breakfast ,but they serve breakfast. fruits, burrito, waffles, five kinds of bread , egg ham and potato two kinds of juce plus hot coffee what else one can expect. closer from small beach. Price was little high but worth it.
The hotel was not COVID19 cleaned. The front desk staff were knowledgeable about check-in procedure. The cafeteria lady were not masks, no gloves and handles your bread/bagles with her bare handas. When ask for a repeats, she asked you for your plate back.
Room was clean but requested connecting rooms(2 bathrooms), got a suite(1 bathroom). Stocked a suite with 3 beds with only 2 towels. Didn't refill towels, toilet paper or coffee for second night. Remote and room phone didn't work. Room stayed a little warmer than we'd like. They were friendly and resolved the the issues as soon as notified but would have easily been better all around if they'd just done it right the first time....
Staff the worst cleaning rooms at midnite. Took my keys refused to let talk to a manager said the online booking system had me reserve 2 rooms sunce after 4 pm when checked in was gonna be charged for both didn't cate about the confirmation email had that showed 1 don't stay there
For $153.00 ... you would think the hotel was one of the best hotels out there. I've paid less for a NICE Marriott hotel in Dallas! And had exceptional service. This was horrible. We stayed at this same hotel a few months ago and it was completely different from our stay last week. It seemed very run down within a matter of months. We were there for a funeral this time and didn't have time to go back and forth to complain to anyone. We were already dealing with the funeral planning and family issues.
I just want to acknowledge all of the staff at Bestwestern for their excellent customer service, and for going above and beyond my expectations. I work for ProAct, and I know for a fact, that me and all of my coworkers love the experience we get from them. I also have been coming to this particular Bestwestern for a year (on and off) , and I haven't experienced this good of service in a long time. In the front desk Yumara and the other representatives always answer any questions that I may have ,and they're very polite , and they always have a wonderful smile to go with it. Nacy and her cleaning crew always have my rooms spotless, and even after they are finished they always ask me if I'm satisfied with everything. I think everyone should go to Bestwestern hotels, and thank you Bestwestern in Port Lavaca!!!
Definitely recommand coming to this hotel. Amelia was very informative about restaurants and fishing places near by. Hannah was also very friendly and had a smile evrytime we saw her. highly recommend staying in rm 102
Me and my buddies come fishing every other weekend and this best western always gives us a good rate and the front desk girls Amelia and Hannah are always nice and very informative. They know of all the good restaurants that are close by. Definitely deserve a raise! Highly recommend this place.
Plan a fishing trip went badly when my vehicle broke . Had to repair in town staff from BW help me especially Emilia She help me with difficult situation . She even offered a ride to pickup my vehicle after she finish her shift.
We drove to Port Lavaca to go fishing for the weekend. We stopped at Walmart for a fishing license and our vehicle didn't start anymore. We walked to the Best Western that is about 1/2 mile away. We hadn't made reservations yet but luckily there was rooms available. The hotel and rooms were very clean and cozy (compared to other hotels in Port Lavaca). The young lady at the front desk (Emilia) was very helpful. She told us of places we could go to that were walking distance, even a nearby pier to go fishing at. We checked into our room and the cable wasn't working. We called the front desk and Emilia immediately came to try to fix it. She was unsuccessful so she moved us to another room...a Suite for the inconvenience. The next day woke up early and had some of the free breakfast the hotel offered. Waffles, pastries, eggs, potatoes, yogurt cereal and some fresh coffee. When we finished having breakfast we decided to walk to the pier (since we were still carless) Emilia was in the next morning and offered us a bag with snacks they had at the front desk for guests. The bag had a water a granola bar and some fresh fruit. Emilia always made sure that we were as comfortable as possible, every time she saw us she asked if there was anything else we needed. Despite being without a vehicle, it was all the things this young lady did for us and the attention we received by her that made It a even more pleasant stay. I will definitely stay here again and recommend this place.
Front Desk was great, and room cleaningness awesome! Keep the good job. The only down hill was housekeeping eating in breakfast area!!! Tought breakfast is only for guest staying in hotel or if employees are gonna eat to atleast leave space for guest to sit in breakfast area! We pay to have a good breakfast and can't do if there is no where to sit! Also being extremely loud!! very Disappointed...
Room 203 to be exact was where me and my daughter got burned with extremely hot water. Obviously, something was faulty with the plumbing maybe even during renovating in which maintenance nor manager would visit room with me to test water temperature. My daughter suffered blisters and redness on her hands when she washed her hands in sink and I suffered redness and of course pain from shower water being extremely hot that made us scream. No apologies and no acceptance and more thank likely this has happened before due to neither employee wanting to visit room so we could prove it when they could stick their hand under faucet or even check with a temperature gauge. We received no compensation and Travelers Insurance neglected our claim. Oh and General manager lied saying that he say nothing wrong with my daughters hands and that they did visit room with us. Also, that maintenance checked water temp and was fine in which they never did while we where there on property. Pull the camera footage to prove it because we had to visit front desk because GM refused to visit hotel room. My 11 year daughters redness on hand with small blisters that formed same day and next day enlarged. She actually hesitates now to wash her hands under sink due to this trauma for her.
My husband and I stayed here for several weeks as he worked a local job. The room was large, had a separate seating area, bigger than average fridge, everything clean, bed comfortable, every single staff person was friendly and cheerful, scrambled eggs and hot potato chunks every morning. I didn't give 5 stars because the linens seems to all be old (clean, but frayed or elastic gone) and hotel doesn't offer weekly rates, was cheaper to reserve thru other channels besides their website or front desk.
Rooms were perfect for business stay. Start breakfast at 5:30 in morning it's good Check inn check out was really fast flawless . Every person in hotel looks like they want to make sure guests feel welcome and comfortable.
Amelia is very professional & has great customer service. Definitely coming back. Rooms are great definitely worth the price I paid.Yumara and Hannah are great also.lobby looks great and the hotel is close the the beach which is a plus
Amelia and hannah are very professional and hard working. The manager Amanda isn't that great but John is constantly here and never leaves. Breakfast isn't the best but the apple juice is good when it works. But the manager Amanda is a big flirt.
I've stayed at a lot of best westerns and this bw is the best Amelia and Hannah are very professional. They deserve a raise. It's hard to find such dedicated workers Amelia handle our contract and gave us a great rate.
Angel was great and attentive to problems with what ever needed to be fixed the hotel was great the people were friendly. beds were clean. I just need to fill up the 200 characters minimum to compleat
I coordinate and book hotels all over the state of Texas and have never in all my years experienced such an utter disregard for customer service as I did last night at this location. Last night, a few of my crew members tried to check into this hotel. Upon arrival, they were greeted by a moody front desk person and their rude/incompetent manager, Amanda. They were asked why they were there and if they even had a reservation. They explained that they did and were then met with yells about how they don't have a credit card authorization, so they will not be staying there. The issue here is that the crew members have an app that allows them to send over a credit card authorization form in real time since we use a virtual travel card system, however, this was apparently unacceptable to the manager, who would not let the guys explain this process. Keep in mind, we stay at Best Westerns often and use the same system and have never had an issue prior to this one. She also told them that if they didn't have the actual card in hand (again, we use a virtual travel card system) that they would be unable to charge the room, however, they had already authorized the card as I can see this through our system (which means they did receive our credit card authorization form). When I tried to speak with her via the crew member's phone, she told them that she would not speak with me and if I wanted to deal with her, I could call the hotel on my own. At this point, the unacceptable service they had received made me want to send our guys elsewhere because I did not want to give money to this awful establishment. I looked online for another hotel, but unfortunately, all other hotels in the area were booked. I decided to call the hotel myself and was met with the same rudeness as our crew members received when trying to check in. She yelled at me and refused to let me explain the situation to an escalated point where I then ended the call. After this, I managed to book a room 30 minutes away from the work site at another hotel (NOT A BEST WESTERN) and they were greeted and promptly provided a place to rest for the evening, the same service they should have received at this hotel. I decided to contact Best Western's customer care line to explain the events and to provide much needed feedback of their personnel. They explained that the hotel was still going to charge me for one night since it was after the cancellation time and the only person who can reverse this fee is the same person I had the issue with in the first place, Ms. Amanda, which she was unwilling to do. To say that this place of business is in desperate need of new management is an understatement. I'm incredibly disappointed in Best Western overall and our company will no longer be staying at any of their locations.
Room and bathroom we're both very clean. Hotel seemed to be under renovation. Parking area large and front desk let us park the motor home so we could keep an eye it from the room. Morning breakfast layout was typical. Very fresh and plenty of options to choose from. Price was right for our one night stay. My GRIPE, yes I have one, was the downstairs hall entry door had no lock. The card reader or whatever kind they intend to use wasn't attached. This left the entry door open to ANYONE. Took away the feeling of security for us knowing that anyone could enter the building. This needs to be taken care of ASAP
The room was clean despite smelling mouldy. But the lighting was poor and the décor unexciting. Breakfast was included in the (expensive) price but it wasn't great. Nothing terrible, but just not great value.
We booked a room at the Best Western in Port Lavaca while we were in town for a family reunion. We didn't get into our room until after 930pm. Upon arrival we noticed there was mold on our blankets. Went to the front desk and asked for new bedding. They had extra clean sheets but no blankets. My kids froze all night. The bathroom also had mold. The room felt sticky and wet. I understand they were hit by Hurricane Harvey but don't open back for business if you aren't ready. There were also bugs in the room.
Although the hotel is under renovations for hurricane repair, it was obvious there had been issues for a long time. The hallways were not air conditioned, the floors were dirty (my black socks became white), the bathroom was filthy, the room had been recently painted, but poorly. They also had paint on the furniture. There were 4 small pillows on a king size bed. I had been told this was the 2nd best place to stay in PL by locals. I hate to see the other places
While we enjoyed a comfortable overnight stay, we found the room to be a bit noisy - particularly the noisy door closings of nearby rooms. It was clean enough and the WIFI worked well. The hot breakfast was OK - but the eating area was busy and crowded. We understand that there are hurricane damage repairs ongoing, and the room was adequate. It is just that the price was on the high side considering the quality of the stay.
The ladies have always been very professional, and polite. I have never had a problem with the staff, the amenities, or the rooms at this Best Western.I would recommend this Best Western to friends, family, and everyone. Thank you, and Happy New Year. .
Apparently, this particular room is the one they save for last. A strong smell of mildew permeated the room, making the room absolutely unacceptable. After calling the front desk and requesting a different room, I was told the hotel was full and I had no other options. I went personally to the front desk and requested the manager who was then called at home. The manager informed me that there was nothing wrong with the room although I noticed that she knew the number of the room before being told by the night clerk. I told her I would not stay in a room that reeked of mildew and requested a refund which she refused. It isn't my norm to leave a bad review, but this was just unacceptable on all levels.
Does not live up to the $130/nt value... Dirty toilet seat, hair in bathtub, slow draining tub, etc. AC was kind of loud, but bearable. Noises from neighbors and sounds from hallways could be heard throughout the night. Rooms are very smelly. Pros Spacious Rooms Microwave and fridge Nice location Cons Not clean Smelly Room Limited toiletry
Excellent option in Port Lavaca Texas. The motel was clean and staff friendly. I was in the area for business and lodging was limited at the government rate. I would stay here again and recommend to anyone needing a room for a short term stay.
We had stayed at the BW Port Lavaca about five years ago when a family member was ill. The hotel staff and quality was just as great during this stay, which sadly was because of another family member being ill. The BW was still in recovery mode from Hurricane Harvey, but except from a few storm related blemishes, the stay was as good as it gets for a BW. The one nice addition since our stay here years ago, was the installation of an elevator. We would definitely stay here again. Near the bay, near places to eat, and near Walmart. Kudos for your quick recovery from the recent storm.
This is a very nice hotel and affordable. The room was very spacious with a comfortable bed. The lobby and everything about the hotel was modern and clean. The staff was very friendly. Comfortable bed
The first hotel room #226 look cleaned but had a terrible mold odor. We noticed the carpet looked lighter. My husband pulled the carpet under the air conditioner back and the carpet tack strips were black. The second room also looked clean and it didn't have carpet. As soon as we turned on the air conditioner, the room was filled with a combo of cigarette mixed with mold odor. The price we were charged for the room was not worth it. We will not be staying there again.
Very little seating at breakfast. Rooms looked ok but didn't smell clean. Holes under carpet by air condition. Cleaning people came in and only cleaned half the room. One bed was not made and never got fresh towels.
This hotel has a mold problem in rooms 116, 120 & 125. Shower pressure in 116 (handicap room) felt like needles hitting you as you shower. The lighting is so dim you can't read. Internet keeps knocking you off like it is AOL. Breakfast was raw (eggs, sausage, shredded potatoes, and waffle batter). All the beds were so worn out we couldn't sleep because you fell in a hole in the bed. We were down in Port Lavaca, TX for a funeral and it was a horrible night stay since we couldn't sleep or get a good breakfast next morning.
Everything is cheap, beautiful property ruined by discount amenities. Toilet paper and tissues fall apart in yours hands sheets don't fit and breakfast is as cheap as they can get by with. Owner seems to want heavy profits and put nothing back into business.
Clean property. Very poor beds. Get to the breakfast early of the food will be gone. Location is good. Staff had no idea of places to eat in the area. Perhaps management should spend time training the desk staff.
Rooms were clean, sound proofing good, and beds were comfortable. Pillows were too soft. The TV remote did not work but the staff was not contacted as it made me no difference. Seem to be understaffed. No one was a the front desk at check out time.
The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. The location is very convenient to all stores and restaurants. I definitely recommend this hotel while visiting the area, you won't be disappointed during your stay.
Stayed here for a week in March while in the area on business. Nice, clean room. Easy access. Big parking lot, with space for trucks in back. Super friendly staff. Good (adequate) free breakfast. My only complaint is that the pillows are much too small.
Hotel was convenient, and ok price. Room as expected, service fine. Will stay again next month because of convenience. Plenty of parking with easy access to highway. Everything else in area is dramatic drop in quality
Nice large room, but the chairs were not too good. The office-type chair at the desk had no arms and casters that wouldn't roll. The other was one of those overstuffed jobs that you can't ever get out of. Possible comfortable for a very large, long-legged person. At breakfast, the orange juice dispenser spewed out mostly water, and the coffee machine broke down. Poor selection of bread and rolls. The hotel appears to be heavily used by company work crews, and showed a bit more wear and dirt than we would have liked.
Laura was amazing and seemed to never leave! Always onsite and available it seemed! This lady and her staff were amazingly helpful, friendly and welcoming!! I was there for 3 months for work and they made it hard to leave when it came time ! Wether I needed copies made, items faxed or scanned, applications to be held at front desk, deliveries made there.....it was never a problem and they did it with a smile every time!! I look forward to my return for future business or vacation ....because they really made you feel like family! I appreciate how they make you feel from beginning to end!
We were locked out of our room on the second day. There was a lot of noise on the upper floor. They gave us a room with people already in it. This is a very average hotel , that lacks good management.
Smoke and Mold/mildew odor terrible in both rooms we checked. Chose the Mold/mildew room because we had no choice. Holiday Inn was packed. This B/W is way below the standard of what B/W normally is. B/W Plus is great and we will stay there when we can.
This hotel is pretty, convenient. We had a large room well decorated. We enjoyed the swimming pool and the restaurant nearby as there are not many in this area. we came for the poco-fest that was not too far away. The staff was welcoming.
The bed was comfortable but the sheets and mattress pad not as clean as I would prefer. The toilet had to be wiped down by me after we checked in. I asked a housekeeper to clean it the next morning but it was never done. Lots of working men stay at this hotel and the breakfast room was completely demolished and emptied of food by them. I understand they have to eat but it took a while for the food to get replenished and the staff never wiped off the counters or tables, it was a real mess and I had to wipe off an area on the table where I sat. It was an okay place to stay but I sure won't recommend to someone to stay here.
Nice place. I was here on business for about 4 days. Staff was very cordial and sweet. Manager accommodating and interested in my business. I will go back next trip. Pool was clean and did not stink like chlorine. Even the spa was great. Hot enough for me. There was a young lady at the front counter that was a beauty queen. A smile from her made my day. She looked like one of my grandkids. Always smiling and trying to be helpful. God Bless, Ron
The worst thing about this hotel is the "Complimentary wake-up call" you receive from reception at 1.45am telling you to "keep the noise down", When in fact you and your little children have been asleep for hours. No apology, the manager doesn't call you when you complain, in fact the manager avoids the hotel until you have left!!! The room is DIRTY! Hair in the bathroom, dirt on the bathroom and entry floor, hair in the bed and dirty marks on the sheets. There is no milk for coffee in your room, no normal tea bags at breakfast, only one flavour jam for your toast, basically lacking attention and substance. This hotel is substandard and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. If you must stop in Port Lavaca, stay anywhere but here!!!!
The rooms are clean and the bedding was comfortable. However, the towels felt like sandpaper and the toilet tissue was the same. The breakfast area is unattended and messy. The staff just seems to be "going through the motions" with no real concern for the guests. We won't be back.
Check in was good. Front desk staff very friendly. Room was clean bed was comfy. Breakfast was as usual with both hot and cold items. Workout area is small but equipment is in good condition. The pool outdoors looked nice but I did not use it. Location is good local restaurants are close not walking distance but close.
Our room was a great size, plenty of space, quiet and clean. The receptionist was learned, polite and courteous. Had the swimming pool all to ourselves, the fitness area was available as well, no more decorating, thank goodness. From this experience I will book Best Western again.
Staff made the trip enjoyable. Remembered my name throughout the stay. Very impressed. The room was cleaner than I've been used to. Noticed that even behind the bedside table, in corners had been vacuumed. So often that is a tell-tell sign of a 'rush' cleaning or not.
My experience with this Inn was really good. Reservations, check-in, check-out, and the facilities were great. Could not ask for more. One drawback was the breakfast. As a diabetic, I did not find anything other than bacon and eggs that I could eat, not even fruit. The second drawback for me was the parking lot was extremely dark. Many of their lights were out that illuminated the parking lot did not work.
We had a room on the first floor, we stayed the night it was fit for purpose. It was spacious, well appointed, could have done with some rugs. Curiously the pillows were rather small. There had clearly been some renovation work done, but some things were left untouched. Breakfast was as might be expected from a motel or low cost chain.
I really dislike paying $20 for my dog to be in the room with me. He is quiet, doesn't get up on the beds or furniture and is not left alone in the room yet we have to pay this ridiculous amount to cover supposed extra cleaning charges ??? I really get annoyed when I see ads on TV showing kids in a motel room jumping on the beds and then a toddler is much more likely to put dirty handprints on furniture and windows, etc. The $20 fee seems to be the latest way for BW to gouge the consumer.
The hotel has good points: laminate floors instead of dirty carpet, 2 sinks to allow couples to get ready easily, decent breakfast. But, I do not find it a good bargain, at over $100 even when the hotel (and the town) is almost empty. Check in was easy, but again, the clerks started searching for a luggage cart for another customer, instead of finishing the check in process for me. Basic training in customer service would help.
To start off with, I am pretty picky when it comes to service and operations support at a hotel, and of all the hotels I have stayed at coast to coast, Best Western has never let me down. Best Western is a great hotel to stay at, best staff you could ever hope to have! My wife and I always stay at Best Western. They have economical rates, free good daily breakfast options (sausage, eggs, hashbrowns, muffins, fruit and juice/coffee). Clean hotel, friendly and helpful staff, no bugs, no odors --- great place to stay! If you need anything, they bring it to you. Will continue to use their hotel and accomodations!
This hotel has a good location off the main highway. The room was very clean and quiet. The staff was helpful with local info. They have a nice exercise room but would like to see more equipment. Good Breakfast. Friendly Staff at breakfast.
Had a great night sleep in a comfy bed. King size bed was very comfortable. The décor was tasteful and simple. Didn't startle you with nasty colors and bizarre photos on the walls. Staff was helpful finding a place to have dinner. Breakfast was good and satisfying.
This hotel was very well maintained. The room was comfortable and we had a great stay. I was impressed with the manager who called and let me know how the refund of the gift card could be handled. I wish it could have been handled at the hotel but it is done now.
The Best Western Port Lavaca was outstanding! The whole staff was friendly and helpful. The breakfast was amazing and had many different things to choose from. The atmosphere of the hotel made me feel comfortable. I am Looking forward to coming back soon!
Our room was on the first floor at the end of the hall. Many people used that back door. It woke us up during the night more than once, it was very noisy. Also the room did not have WIFI inside, it did in the hall, but not in the room. Everything else was very nice. Staff was apologetic for the WIFI, stating it was recently updated. The room was clean and a nice size, Breakfast was standard. Staff was also helpful with directions
My family stays at this hotel every time they visit. We recently stayed for a graduation and enjoyed our stay. Although just for one night, the property itself is wonderful. Recent renovations to lobby and room have definitely improved experience. I would stay again if we ever return.
This hotel exceeded our expectations...From the moment you walk in you are greeted by every employee. The employees were very friendly and everyone of them stayed busy working. The room was very clean, The bed was the most comfortable that I have slept on. Best nights sleep. The breakfast was very good and the lady on duty was very helpful and kept everything clean. Will definitely stay at this hotel again. Thanks Best Western.
Excellent in all aspects, especially in cleanliness, management, personnel and location. Definitely a place that will have my return business! It was extremely refreshing to have a "smoking room" that smelled nice and fresh and not stinking of smoke. Even though I smoke, I am not a nasty person and it was nice not to have to use the Lysol I generally carry with me to have to spray the smoking rooms. I thank you for that.
The hotel was clean and the people were friendly. The room had no carpet, vinyl wood floor. This helped because I have asthma sometime with carpet. We did not use the pool. We did eat at their continental breakfast. They had a large selection. There were waffle, cereal, juice, coffee, biscuit, fruit, and other things to select. We stayed 3 days and we will stay again.
The service was great. Wonderful, very helpful, and friendly staff! Very nice décor. Warm and comforting atmosphere of the hotel! The beds I will most definitely be staying at the Best Western when I'm in town.
It is a good place to stay in Port Lavaca. Cheaper than Holiday Inn Express. Plenty of parking. Very friendly and helpful staff. Good location for access to the plants in Point Comfort. And if they don't like the fact my review has less than 200 characters, they can kiss my butt, and I won't fill out their stinking reviews anymore. Holiday Inn Express did not require this length of review.
Hotel was overall sub par. I stayed in one of the suites which at the initial walk in was nice. Then few problems arose. WiFi never worked even after contacting their support area. Looks like the suite was being repaired previously to our stay. Lights were in plugged Spackle not painted over on the ceiling. Requested wake up call was not done on Saturday. Maid service missed the room for cleaning. Front desk girls not comprehending that they are the face of the hotel. It's not personal that one is upset at the hotel not them. Management needs to explain that they are Best Western when they are at work.
No General Manager or Acting Manager on staff. The front desk girls and a cleaning staff member were friendly and very helpful. Their names are Crystal, Bianca and Shiniqua. The staff that stood out as the worst was Rachel. I called four or five times at 12:30 p.m. and no one answered the telephone. I then went out to the front desk and had to ring the bell several times. Out came Rachel who was half asleep. I mentioned to her that my television was not working and if she could help. Her response was, "Well what's wrong with it"? I replied, "Well if I knew that I wouldn't be here asking you". She became angry and said, "If you disrespect me, I am not going to help you". I am so sick of these entitled children who have no education nor manners. She was horrible and I told her that I was going to report her and she said she didn't care. There was no one manning the front desk and/or telephones. What if there was an emergency? The room was clean. I like the floors although they stay damp with the air conditioner on. The hotel has no names of restaurants to offer. Bed was comfortable and breakfast was good. At 6:00 a.m. the kitchen person was making so much noise and banging the pans and other stuff that she woke me up!
