Best Western Plus Monterey Inn

A fairly good and comfortable hotel. The staff which served me at check in was pretty businesslike, get the job done quickly. For a rather pricey hotel (like most hotels in Monterey) I don't find it welcoming. Later when i approached the front desk again, another service staff was an opposite - friendly, smiling and welcoming. Thus standard of service was inconsistent. For that I took a * off. We're on the first floor and the carpet leading to the rooms look worn out and tired. Parking was adequate. Breakfast was good.

I had to cancel my trip due to a family bereavement. I had booked through Booking.com and they had shown a willingness to refund my payment. The hotel manager declined my refund (8 other hotels on my trip all refunded the same day) without even making contact with me. I contacted customer relations and they said they couldn't overrule the manager (I believe her name is Diane). Such poor service. Please ensure you won't have any reason to cancel your booking before you make your reservation. Must be such an inconvenience to this manager that a close member of my family passed away !!

We have stayed here several times and are always impressed with the quality of service and cleanliness. All the staff greet you like VIPs (even maintenance staff wished us a nice day). The beds and pillows were so comfortable, exactly what was needed for a long day of activities. On top of everything, the breakfast was impressive with fresh made to order pancake machine, espresso machine, eggs, sausage, hash browns, yogurt machine, and fresh fruit. Of course, bagels, English muffins and toast too! Made myself a sausage egg muffin sandwich. Location is not crowded, but close to everything! Walked to wharf and cannery row, Trader Joe's, and downtown.

I've stayed at this hotel previously and enjoyed it. On the plus side, the underground parking is convenient and easy to get in and out of, and I felt safe using it. The front desk staff is good. There is tea and coffee in the lobby. The breakfast choices are okay. The room was visibly clean. There is carpeting and curtains in the room. The bathroom tub is dated but the water pressure was fine. The TV works; however, it could be a little larger. On the negative side, the primary issue with this visit is that the room had a very pronounced odor that was a musty smell that clung to my clothes. The odor was very noticeable every time we entered the room. I couldn't tell where it came from. Because of this issue, I will consider staying elsewhere the next time. The odor was such that, IMO, it would be noticeable to most people, including hotel management should they check the rooms. The odor, IMO, should be addressed.

We enjoyed a comfortable stay here for two nights as we explored Monterey. The parking is free and in an underground garage accessed behind the building. There is an elevator that takes you right up to the floor you need. The room was a generous size with helpful amenities such as a 'fridge and coffee maker. There's a sink vanity area and a separate toilet/shower room which is tiny and has a loud fan that comes on with the light. The bedroom has ceiling fan because the hotel doesn't have A/C which I should think in Monterey isn't a big deal. We ate the provided breakfast downstairs in the dining area which was pleasant and offerings changed daily. This hotel seems like a much better value than than the others we looked at and it's a only short drive to the main attractions.

We drove around a couple of hotels but found this Best Western to be well situated. It was inviting and clean. The staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast was great and coffee even better Definetely worth the what we paid

My wife and I stay at BW quite often. This was one of the best. During and after Covid it was hard to find a hotel that offered actually glass and China for water and coffee. The bed was extremely comfortable and the room was very quiet. One of the really nice things about this stay was the fact that we had our room made up and cleaned during our two day stay. The two gentlemen were very kind and helpful. We will return.

Easy to find, plenty of free parking, pleasant staff and very clean. Reasonably priced too. However, there is a strange smell throughout that I couldn't put my finger on. Rooms around the back have the advantage of being woken each morning at 5-6 am by a reversing dumper truck. The thing that I really didn't like is the amount of plastic being tossed every day from the breakfast. I'm no environmentalist, but I hate needless plastic use. Literally everything from cereal packets (bowls), cutlery, coffee cups, the lot went in the bin and onwards to landfill. With a kitchen and plenty of staff they could easily use a dishwasher and re-useable crockery and cutlery. That said, our stay was enjoyable and comfortable.

I personally didn't like this hotel which we first arrived. However, the beds were comfortable and the room was spacious and quiet. However, the breakfast was terrible. There wasn't much choice and when I went to add sultanas to my cereal the spoon in the sultana bowl had hardened yogurt all over it. Yuck! This hotel is good for a one night stay on the way through to another place, but that's about it.

Our stay here was fantastic. The room was very large and spotlessly clean. All linens were like new. The bed was super comfortable. Bathroom facilities were sparkling clean. One thing we really appreciated was that there were two comfy chairs in the room. Usually, one of us is sitting on the bed or the steno chair (if there is one). We got some food to bring back to the room and swung the chairs around to face the sliding door and ate while enjoying a fresh breeze and birds singing. A special shout out to Alan. He checked us in quickly and then took the time to tell us everything we needed to know. He was so friendly and pleasant. Our only complaint is that we were there for only one night. We would have been happy to stay longer. Easy walking to town and the wharf etc. We will definitely stay here if we are ever lucky enough to visit Monterey again.

This hotel is great. We stayed here on route to complete Highway 1 from San Francisco to San Diego. The hotel was great, the staff were very helpful. Breakfast was good with lots of choice. The pool is small but adequate for a quick dip and you can also use the hot tub. You can walk into Monterey from here. Monterey is fabulous and the seals in the harbour were an added bonus. There are other hotels on this road but they are further out and not within walking distance of the town. We would definitely recommend this hotel.

Not for families with children. Or others. Perhaps our worst stay ever on I95. Mildew reeked from all over the room. Airconditioner was contaminated. Even the water coming from the bathroom faucet was contaminated with mildew. Unbelievable. We had to go out and purchase bottled water. Air conditioner did not work properly. Perhaps a blessing in disguise since it was mildew contaminated. Elevator was hot. No ventilation or air conditioning. Pot smoke throughout hotel floor. Unconscionable, considering families stay at hotel. Breakfast was minimal, they ran out of their eggs, fruits, and were slow to replace. Hotel is old. Needs to be torn down and rebuilt, so many structural and functional problems. Staff polite, but I will avoid the Best Western Hardeeville in the future.

Such a lovely hotel seemingly newly renovated and 5 blocks from Fisherman's Wharf. Pizza and Chinese food across the street and underground covered parking. Breakfast was very plentiful and delicious and came with the room. Customer service from every employee was exemplary. Our corner room had two king beds, a couch and two chairs. We definitely will be back.

I was pleasently surprised at the quality, conditon, landscaping, and design of this Best Western Plus. Beautifully landscaped is the first impression. Inside, the lobby and our room were so peacefull and calm that I could feel my stress level drop! The pool area was on the small side but so clean and neat....and working!! The beds was a dream. The only disappointment was no microwave. The fan was plenty. Having grown up in the area I knew no A/C wouldn't be a problem. But the fan was great to have still. I had made the arrangements and chose this hotel so I was happy that it was so wonderful. Great value! We will stay again! Staff and property were supurb. Parking was great and it is not that far to the area's we wanted to visit.

The staff was very friendly during our entire visit. We had a double king room with a fold out couch which was very spacious for the four of us and allowed for some separation of our 15 and 12 year old kids. The pool was well maintained and heated which was great considering it was only 65 degrees during our stay. The attention to detail with the landscaping on the property made it feel very comfortable. The only potential issue is the breakfast area can get crowded if you go at peak hours. Since it was chilly outside nobody was using the outdoor seating which also made the lobby area a bit cramped. The food was good and well stocked throughout the breakfast hours. Walking distance to everything you want to do in downtown Monterey. I would gladly stay again.

We have stayed in many Best Western Hotels, including a few in this area. This is by far our favorite! We have also stayed in other hotels in the area, including oxen front but this is a better quality.

NO HOT WATER IN SHOWER. Started the control at the bottom, moved to the top, there was no hot water. Advised the front desk. Explained ran the water for a very long time, at best lukewarm. Next effort, only cold. Response from the front desk:" I can't do anything about that, Manager would have to give you a discounted rate, she's not here." No offer to come check it, to have maintenance come to the room, to offer another room's shower to at least get clean. Had to leave for airport. After 3 phone calls to front desk, 3 messages for the Manager, she refused to take or return the calls. DON'T STAY HERE unless you like cold showers and bad service.

Family and I selected this hotel for our stay in Monterey. This location was close to fisherman's wharf and walking distance to a lot of places to eat. Staff was friendly, rooms were clean and breakfast had a good amount of options. Can't go wrong with this Best Western location.

My family and I stayed here and enjoyed our experience. We were pleasantly surprised how clean the room was and the size of the rooms. The breakfast was an added bonus. The staff were helpful and kind. We enjoyed our stay and would gladly return!

We booked this hotel based off other reviews who said this was family friendly, and they were right. Staff, Hotel, and accommodations were family friendly. It was centrally located to everything we wanted & needed to get to.

Great Location, breakfast was very good both days. Bed was great & views. Very nice location in downtown Monterey near the beach. All in all a relaxing stay for two or three days. We will be back for another weekend soon.

Excellent hotel! Super clean with a great balcony in the room. Nice and clean bathroom's! They have a great set up for breakfast. Fresh and hot food. Several options. Also love that they have coffee and tea all day long.

Family friendly location and is walking distance to food even for kids under 10. The room was nice and clean and I got the king size double room, so it was plenty big for all 4 of us. There's also a hot tub and pool for the kids to enjoy too.

This was my second stay at this hotel. We again had a very clean very large room with two king beds. The front desk staff is amazing. I was able to get help using their computer, sending a fax, and best of all got information and advice about places to stop and see and hike while driving down the scenic Pacific Coast Highway. There is tea and coffee in the lobby and an adequate breakfast to start the day. There's a place to order pizza from across the street and restaurants within walking distance. This hotel has an underground parking garage. The hotel feels safe to stay in. It is less than a mile walk to Fisherman's Wharf.

This hotel was perfect, the staff, the location, the parking, the comfort and space of the room! What an amazing weekend, thank you VERY much Best Western Plus Monterey Inn Staff! Very friendly at check in and honored my request of the room type I asked for! It made the trip so much more enjoyable, something my fiancée and I will remember for a lifetime! We will ONLY stay here when in the Monterey Area, it was truly perfect for us! Fireplace and Balcony were over the top! Views from room were amazing too! This place is perfect for us. It's walking distance to downtown Monterey, free covered parking, which is rare for a Monterey hotel, great breakfast included with your stay. It doesn't have air conditioning, but rarely do you need it in Monterey. The rooms are clean and spacious, and the beds and pillows are super comfortable, nice linens. We stay here every time we're in town for a car show. They even have suites (two adjoining rooms) whenever we need one, and the rates are reasonable.

A Great place to stay on Monterey .. Great Staff and a very well run property .. clean comfortable rooms and a great outdoor pool/spa area. .. short walk or Ride Share to the Monterey attractions. While in never rains is Southern California .. the covered underground parking is a plus.

Nice staff, clean hotel, ok area, but lack of air conditioning and ability to cool the room or move air made for an unpleasant stay. Outdoors was typical cool Monterey weather, but indoors was too hot.

The room was very comfortable and spacious. We would've preferred AC to have been available. Lots of restaurants, shops and services in walking distance. The staff were courteous and helpful. They're in the process of doing some upgrades.

The service was great! No air conditioning made it hard to sleep since I have allergies that make it impossible for me to leave the sliding door open all night. Also, every light switch in the bathroom has motion sensors to turn off after a certain amount of inactivity. Definitely the lowest quality BW Plus I have ever stayed at.

big and clean room with 2 king beds. Worry free to stay there. No AC, but still very quiet and comfort even we opened the window door the whole nights. Free breakfast and parking. Front desk staff (Alan) is awesome. Please note that a resort fee will be applied.

A number of our family stayed here during a family reunion weekend. The rooms are large and clean.The bed was very comfortable. Parking is good and free. Some family used the heated pool. There is a continental breakfast which is good. This hotel is convenient to downtown-walking distance. Alan at the desk is a great employee.The price is high but consistent with other hotels. Monterey is very expensive especially in the summer. We have stayed here many times over the years and it is always a good choice.

This hotel is great. Clean, comfortable, friendly and welcoming staff, covered parking (under the hotel but open to environment), breakfast was good, 24 hour coffee and tea station, and the aesthetics of the hotel are modern and nice, etc. I booked well ahead of our trip and got a great price - $152 on a Tuesday. Probably one of the best stays we had on our west coast road trip. We drove, but Cannery Row could likely be walked in a decent time. We weren't able to use the pool while there due to time. The one negative I would have is that there is a power pole right across the street that had a very loud buzz. We couldn't hear it in our room, but you can hear it when outside.

This hotel invested in a complete remodel and have not raised their prices because of it. The rooms are the cleanest ever and sheets and towels are fresh and fluffy. The staff is very friendly and will do anything to make our stay the best. The lobby has fresh coffee, tea and is always clean and stocked. They don't charge extra for covered parking as most hotels in the area do. The breakfast is hot and very fresh. Our room was freshened up every day. The prices are not as high as other hotels in Monterey yet this is a top rated 3 star hotel. It should be 4 star. I hope others choose this Best Western when traveling to the Monterey area.

Rooms are spacious and nice. Bathroom not the newest but very clean. No aircon but a huge window with Moskito net that can be opened which was more than enough. Prior to our arrival I asked for a room not on the ground floor - we got a room on the ground floor right next to the breakfast room with our 9 month old baby. What a joke, thanks for nothing! There is no cleaning service due to Covid unless one asks specifically for it each day until 11 pm. Fine by me but why is half the staff walking around without a mask and distance and Covid not a topic anywhere else in the building? At breakfast staff are preparing the food with their masks off their nose or entire face and people are crowded in a tiny room. It's basically a good way for the hotel to safe some money, that's all! Staff at the reception was always friendly and nice. Breakfast itself is limited but okay, however buffet was often empty and only slowly got filled up again. Biggest joke was that the English muffins for the breakfast sandwiches that got prepared by staff were toasted with the only toaster that was located in the breakfast room while all the guest had to either miss out on toasted bread or had to wait and watch 20 muffins going through a toaster very slowly… Breakfast room itself is very small, with a baby or stroller not possible. We had our breakfast outside as they have a nice patio (right next to our balcony…). It's a ten minute drive to Carmel and a short walking distance to Montereys fisherman's wharf. Hotel is fine for a short stay but nothing special. Not very family friendly after all

This hotel surpassed my expectations, the price was affordable so I figured there would be a catch! But NO, it was great. Super comfortable beds which was a huge bonus. The location was great we walked to several places and mind you I have 4 children. No complaints from them. We got the King Suite and had a good amount of space for the 1 year old to walk around. Only issue we had was for breakfast the pancake machine needed assistance both mornings, but staff was kind and helpful and we got those pancakes for the kids! Heated pool was amazing! Will def return.

Front desk staff was extremely friendly and thorough during check-in process. Hotel was clean. Upper level parking for larger vehicles had limited spaces. Lower level had more parking spaces but clearance was at 6'4" which our 2017 vhevy Tahoe barely made it through, but we were able to park when we missed out on the upper level parkings.

We came to Monterey for our friend's wedding and stayed at BW Plus Monterey, CA. The staff was friendly and professional. The hotel is in a great location within walking distance of excellent restaurants, yummy cafes, and shopping. The room was a nice size and very well kept. They take great care of the hotel. Enjoyed my walks along the bike paths and to the Aquarium.

The Best Western Plus in Monterey is my top choice for my getaways to Monterey. The hotel is always clean, the staff helpful and the location can't be beat. It is easy to walk downtown or to the wharf for dinner, and conveniently located to jump on the highway to go to Carmel. Pacific Grove and the Monterey Bay Aquarium are close by; just a short drive.

Very nice hotel. Plenty of underground easy to park at parking for the rental car. Nice clerk who recommended restaurants on Abrego St. and on ocean. Very clean very large hotel room with two extremely comfortable king beds (!!!) and TV with lots of channels. Coffee and tea in lobby. Easy walk every day to Monterey tourist area including path by Fisherman's wharf and other sites. Area felt safe as did hotel. Would feel okay staying by self here. Walked around at night. Decent breakfast with trays to bring to room. Would definitely stay here again. Only things I could add are that it would be nice to get a list of recommended restaurants if staying multiple days and chairs on balcony so could eat breakfast there in morning. Good hotel!

I really enjoyed this hotel and would stay here again. I am very picky when it comes to hotels, but I can find no faults with this hotel. This is an older hotel but it has been updated and maintained very well. I only wish they accepted pets, I would definitely return on my next trip when I have my dog. The check in staff was friendly and the process was quick. The parking garage was free and super convenient! The room was huge, I've never seen a room with 2 king beds before. The bed linens and towels were some of the softest I've ever seen in a hotel. The room and bathroom were very clean, immaculate. Great shower and water pressure. No AC but that wasn't an issue. Could open the door and get cool air through the screen door. There was a ceiling fan and a bathroom fan that created ambient noise. Motion detector lights in the bathroom were a cool plus.

I stayed two nights and location was nice good parking too. Hot tub was small but hot which i like. Bed was a little soft for my liking. Overall everything was clean and decent it's just that i didn't feel like they respected my business. The staff wasn't very friendly. When you walk by the front desk you expect a smile and a hello. None of that here they stared at the monitor and avoided eye contact. I asked for an orange while the lady was setting up for breakfast. It was on the cart right in front of me and she responded with breakfast starts at 7:00. Oh one last thing i was not expecting no air conditioner in room. I'm a lifetime Diamond at Hilton and never stayed in a hotel without AC.

Overall great experience. Spacious rooms, pool and hot tub, free breakfast and parking are a plus! Good location, close to Fisherman's Wharf, Cannery Row, and Aquarium. Plenty of restaurants nearby. Would definitely stay there again.

We didn't have any crazy-high expectations for our stay at the Best Western Plus, so we were thoroughly impressed with the cleanliness, amenities, our large two king bed room and bathroom, and the wonderful complimentary breakfast. The beds and pillows were very comfortable and our whole family slept great. I would definitely recommend and would stay there again.

Looked at other laces to stay. When I booked this place I was glad I did. From the entrance to our room, BW took care of us. Super clean and everything we needed for our stay. Free parking and great complimentary breakfast options. Centrally located to all destinations. Quiet place too. You won't be disappointed. Thank you BW!

They will mysteriously over charge your card, and then be rude about it when questioned about the extra charges and not take care of it. I was literally told "I don't know" when questioned, and his greeting was a very rude "I cannot hear you" almost yelling, and I didn't have a mask on. Hospitality sucks

We were very satisfied with our stay! The hotel was very clean and the staff was super friendly and helpful. Breakfast exceeded our expectations, they had the best pancakes and great breakfast burritos.

I had to make a difficult, high-maintenance trip, and Alan made sure all my questions were answered before I booked. The room was spacious and really nice. It has underground parking, and is located only a few minutes from the ocean. In the morning, I took my baby on a walk to the nearby park, which hosts the Dennis the Menace Playgrounds and has boats on the lake. It was a lovely de-stresser after a really rough day I'd had.

Wonderful hotel. Location great, staff super welcoming and friendly. Checked us in 3 hours early. Requested and received quiet room on top floor (3 story building). Just coming off the Covid surge and a bit germophobic, was impressed by cleanliness and staff wearing masks. Happy there are no pets allowed (allergies...sorry pet owners). Sizeable room. Fast wifi. Comfy beds, Big pillow selection. Decent continental breakfast. (gotta love the pancake machine!!). Will stay again.

Fighting guests early enough to wake you, nothing was done by staff. Yelling babies at 3am, nothing was done by staff. My wife and I went to relax and get away from the city. We couldn't even sleep right staying here due to thin walls and slamming doors!

It's a 3-star hotel but offers a lot within its limitations. Very good housekeeping staff, the room was immaculate. Friendly desk staff. On-site parking. Good size, comfortable room with fridge and coffee maker. Not luxurious but very functional and much better than average. I think the management cares, and it shows.

The room is clean and staff is nice. They offer k-cup coffee in the lobby and is available 24 hours. There is a microwave in the lobby, but is the only microwave in the entire hotel. There is heat in the room including a central temperature control which is nice. But be aware that there is no A/C available in this hotel. Wifi speed and coverage are good. They offer complimentary breakfast, but choices are limited. Everything is wrapped, and you can grab and good which is nice. One issue I had was with the door knob in the bathroom. It was loosen. I was able to use it, but it was clear to me that should be noticeable and fixed when the room was cleaned.

Nice clean hotel with underground parking, great staff and fresh breakfast. Reasonably close to the beach and not claiming "Covid" to deny services. Breakfast staff was making fresh breakfast sandwiches and other hot products were available.

We stayed in a fireplace king for a long weekend. The room was spacious & comfortable. The hotel is clean, well managed, and reasonably close to shops & attractions. Outdoor breakfast seating area is a plus!

We stopped here after a 4+ hour drive from San Francisco. The beds were amazing and it was very clean. I am so glad they had breakfast as well. Traveling with a 4 month old this saved us so much time. Oh and there is a jack in the box 2 min away!

This is our new spot to stay in Monterrey. Convenient location, easy parking in ramps. Most rooms have balconies,with screen doors, great for fresh air. Some street noise, but you don't hear it when door is closed. I think rooms in the back might be quieter.. Room was very clean, brand new carpet and very comfortable beds. All the staff wore masks except for the men at the front desk. Very good "mask required" signs at entrances. Bathroom sink lighting is dim, bad for make up.

Very nice hotel with professional staff that make you feel welcome. I enjoyed the comfort of the hotel. Great safe parking. COVID compliant practices. I would recommend this hotel when in Monterey, California. Thank you Best Western Team.

This location was very clean; inside and outside. The room was freshly cleaned. The Customer service at the front desk was amazing, very helpful and friendly. Two thumbs up to the front desk for their friendly disposition. I will book a room here again.

The Best Western Plus Monterey Inn is a wonderful place to stay when visiting this beautiful city. The inn is located in the main part of town but is a short drive to the tourist destinations. The building is well maintained and the staff is so friendly and appreciative.

Birthday get away for Wife's Birthday with family. Their first time at a Best Western Plus..They were quite impressed with this Hotel. The price, location and the size of the rooms. We had previously stayed a this hotel and really enjoyed it. We will stay their again on our next visit.

The only thing that matters in a hotel stay is a clean room and a comfortable bed. Our room was perfect. This hotel continues to be our favorite in Monterey. Covid protocols are still being followed, so we stayed without worry. Breakfast was furnished; it was adequate such that we did not need to find a restaurant to dine. The dining room is open, but we took the food to our room. The hotel recently remodeled. So, it looks new. As long as this hotel continues to be as nice as it is, we will stay here whenever we visit Monterey. Check in and out was very quick with a reservation.

Our recent stay at the Best Western Plus Monterey Inn was exceptional. Our room was perfect, the staff was helpful & friendly and we had a very nice breakfast in the morning. We will look for a Best Western Plus when traveling in the future!

I have stayed in hotels of all types for years and this one is the best mid range hotel that I have ever stayed in hands down. It was centrally located, super clean, great beds, well appointed, roomy and the personal was extremely accommodating. I have a fun specialty sports car and when I asked if I could keep it right in front at night they said SURE. People will love it and there is stayed for all 4 nights. As far as I am concerned this is the only mid range hotel in Monterey for me.

The staff were the best I've ever had! I got an early check in, downstairs room, late check out AND they stored our bikes for us. I cannot believe how Impressively clean this location was, too! Newly remodeled . We had a king sized room; which was very large. Clean, crisp cotton sheets. Big comfy beds. Underground parking. Very close (within walking distance) to all the attractions.

This is a great location in Downtown Monterey. Walking distance to lots on restaurants and the old Fisherman's Wharf. The staff is very accommodating, the rooms are well appointed and the breakfast if good.

The staff was great. The rooms were clean and nice and Breakfast was delicious. Would recommend to family and friends. Very close to the aquarium where we planned to visit. Overall would rebook this hotel again.

Great place to stay in Monterey that's clean and affordable. There are some shops and restaurants within walking distance but Cannery Row and The Monterey Bay Aquarium is just a short drive from the hotel. Adequate breakfast offerings included w/ room charge. Room was fairly large but be aware there's no air conditioning. There's a ceiling fan and a slider that opens and for us that was fine. The bed was very comfortable and there was a selection of pillows to choose from.

My title sums it all uup but, for those who need more: Check-in/check-out were easy and the desk staff were very helpful. Carts to move luggage were generally found by the elevator in the garage and there were plenty of them so loading/unloading our car was pretty easy. You're only two blocks from the waterfront attractions/views. Getting to/from the hotel from Hwy 101 is pretty simple as is heading to 17-mile Drive. Our third-floor room was clean and the balcony with table and chair were a nice feature. The hotel is pet-friendly for a nominal fee. There are a couple of computer terminals in the lobby which allowed me to get caught up on e-mails after eschewing the process for a week. Probably my biggest shout out is for the buffet breakfast. After a week-and-a-half on the road it was refreshing to go from either nothing or grab 'n go to a proper (and reasonably stocked breakfast buffet. Nice! We'd definitely stay here again.

Stayed two nights, and my favorite hotel for staying in Monterey for the price and very helpful staff. Complimentary breakfast is adequate, good choices. Covered parking, two levels, with a convenient elevator. Easy access to Highway 1. Good WiFi connection. Hotel common areas and rooms well maintained, clean.

The hotel is very clean. Although there are no microwaves inside the room, there is one in the lobby which is an inconvenience. The beds are very comfortable. I definitely had a good night sleep. The housekeeping staff are fantastic. They're friendly and made me feel as a welcomed guest. Bravo!

Clean, updated lodging with plenty of parking and friendly staff! We walked everywhere - to the dock for whale watching, to the Parisian bakery for morning treats, to dinner at Cannery Row (that was a bit longer than we had expected!). Nice breakfast choices. We will definitely stay here again.

From beginning to end this place offered the Best Customer Service, value and hospitality! The Team makes you feel like you are in a Five Star Resort. Rooms are very clean and spacious! I will return!

Our room was exactly as requested. Beds were comfortable. Room was clean. Only downside was no A/C so room was warm when we arrived and the first night. An overhead fan moved the air, but didn't cool the room down. The next day we kept the balcony door open more, and that fixed the problem. Front office staff, from check-in to check-out, and at all times in between, were extremely helpful and efficient.

Miguel and Matt were so helpful. Excellent and friendly service! Enjoyed our stay and appreciated the comfortable, clean room. Extra bonus is allowing our two dogs. Also, close to many restaurants and shops!

This hotel is by far the best I've seen for keeping their guests safe. The breakfast was simple but delicious and well planned. Everything was individually wrapped and clean. The room was spotlessly clean and spacious. We were very comfortable. All the staff were courteous and well trained in the new safety protocols. I would gladly stay at this hotel again.

The hotel itself is well-maintained and thoroughly clean. There is no odor anywhere in the building - lobby, halls, or room. The beds are ridiculously comfortable, with no lumps or other weirdness. Breakfast is hearty, with lots of choices. Check out the pancake maker! It's a one-touch operation that's pretty cool to watch. The horticulturist has done a remarkable job of decorating the front of the hotel with bee-, butterfly-, and hummingbird-friendly plants! I'm a beekeeper and was impressed with not only the displays but the maintenance that was evident throughout. And the orchids in the lobby are exceptional! I'm switching my growing medium from sphagnum/bark to just sphagnum after seeing them thrive. Covered parking and friendly staff are a plus. I would definitely stay here again.

Really horrible checkin and front desk. Called the morning before checkin and spoke to a lady to add my girlfriend to the reservation and make arrangements for her to checkin before me without having to charge her card. All was good. However at checkin the guy at front desk did not want to check her in and asked that she made payment upfront without me. Two different stories. The gentleman at front desk was super rude and just kept being very non flexible. My girlfriend had to wait in parking lot and bot allowed in. After waiting one hour in parking lot she payed for another room using her own card. I called front desk and corporate and neither would take payment upfront over the phone. A freeking MESS. Horrible experience and what's worse is the impersonal and RUDE attitude of this hotel front desk!!! STAY away!!

Beautiful hotel, the lobby is gorgeous and the staff were very nice and helpful. Very clean. The rooms were warm and there wasn't AC however because it was cool out there was a screen door to allow the cool air in and a beautiful ceiling fan in our room that made it homey. Elevator in the parking garage was convenient. Overall a really nice stay. Very close to Carmel beach.

This hotel was not the fanciest but best value for nearby hotels. It was walking distance to downtown and close driving distance to all other attractions. The hotel was clean and parking was free, but there was no AC in our room.

We stayed here for 3 days with a family of four. The staff was exceptionally friendly. The room was comfortable for 4 people. We liked the grab and go breakfast because we are always on the go. The location was nice and within walking distance to Cannery Row and Alvarado St. I liked being able to open a sliding glass door to get fresh air in the room. (We were on the 3rd floor.) Very clean hotel.

We really enjoyed our stay. We requested a ground floor room and they were able to accommodate us. I did this in advance of checking in. My son likes to run around and I didn't want him bothering anyone downstairs. Luckily the walls are pretty thick because I don't think I ever heard upstairs or next door. The hotel was full when we were there but I could only tell because the parking lot was full, there was plenty of space but there were a lot of cars. Th location is great too. Close to Cannery Row, the Aquarium, Carmel, and Los Lobos. We would definitely stay here again. Very clean too. This was our second hotel on our road trip through beautiful California and I was able to tell the difference in cleanliness right away. I still used some wipes to wipe down high touch areas but that's because I'm a little obsessive and a have a toddler that touches everything. Even though the patio was tiny I enjoyed having a sliding door to let in the fresh air. There is no air conditioning but you won't need it! The blackout curtains worked great.

Stayed here Tuesday-Thursday in August. It was a decent place and price was reasonable for summer. The pool and spa are open and a continental grab and go breakfast was served. They had breakfast burritos that were pretty good. It is an easy walk to downtown restaurants and the Fisherman's Wharf waterfront. The room was large and very clean. There is no air conditioning, but the room has a ceiling fan - fine for most days in Monterey. My only complaint is the footstep noise from the room above us was significant. It seems as though there isn't much insulation between the floors. Two different sets of guests, so I can't blame it on just one noisy group. If I was to stay again, I would get a room on the top floor.

Our hotel stay was great. We were here for 3 nights. the front desk was amazing and very friendly. Our room was big and extremely clean. With covid still happening I felt like they truly sanitized the rooms. The pier was a 2 min drive and cannery row is like a 5 min drive away. Perfect location. Didn't get noise from other rooms except on check out day the people above us had their kids running around the room. Still was not bad as we were awake early anyways.

This is a decent hotel. Rooms were big and had plenty of room. Parking was easy. Front desk staff was friendly. Thought it was expensive but for the area it's understandable. Could use some updating to the bathrooms and not having AC could be an issue for some but no issue while we were there. If looking for a “cheaper” place in the area I would recommend. Good location.

Confused as to why this hotel has such amazing reviews. It's a normal BW. 300/night is crazy expensive for what you get. Gentleman at the desk seemed impatient with me as I checked in, but as soon as my husband walked in, his demeanor changed and he spoke directly to him and didn't make any eye contact with me, even though I was the person paying and completing all of the paperwork. Is this 1921? If you're not on the top floor, expect a LOT of noise from the room above you. Went to “sleep” to stomping and woke up to stomping. Size of room was good.

The Hotel was in the perfect setting. So close to everything! The room was nice. Loved the shower. The bed was so comfortable that I could have slept all day! Love being able to have the super easy checkout.

This is a great place to stay while visiting Monterey. Our room was spacious, clean, and quiet with a great shower. The location is a couple of blocks to the Cannery Row area including the Aquarium. It's also a block away from the bicycle path which is a great way to get around the area. Breakfast is very good with a good assortment and a good sized seating area. It is included. Highly recommend!

Disappointed that there is no air conditioning - the price is not a value without it. Leaving the window or patio door open only allows for more noise. Should be offered to have a room on mountain side or main road. I would have preferred on the cliff side for less noise. No switch for the patio light. Couldn't turn it off when I wanted too. Centrally commanded. Parking ramp needs to be fixed... bad bump / fissure. Continental breakfast was good.

Clean hotel. Satisfactory amenities, friendly staff, accessible location. The breakfast was filling wnough to make you not want to buy some more breakfast outaide. Definitely will book another stay in the coming months!

My husband and I really appreciated the cleanliness of this place, including the lobby, the hallways, the elevator, the parking garage, and the room itself. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom set-up was convenient (I like when the shower and toilet are separate from the sink). The only downside to the room was the lack of air-conditioning. It was a warm evening despite leaving the fan on and our sliding glass door open (we were on the second floor and felt safe to do so), though we did have to close the sliding glass door early morning when the construction team across the street began their work for the day. Our room was also above the patio area where the continental breakfast was served in the morning and some of the guests were loud, but nothing that couldn't be fixed by closing the sliding glass door.

I have stayed in many hotels over the years - some exceptional and others not so great - but I have never felt more unwelcome than I did at the Best Western Plus Monterey Inn. My wife and I traveled to Monterey for Memorial Day on a day trip from the Bay Area and decided to stay the night to avoid the heavy traffic heading back to the Bay. I found a great rate on Priceline for the Best Western Plus and booked it up. When we arrived at the hotel and tried to check in, we were informed by the guest services representative that they had not received payment from Priceline and that I would not be able to check in until I had resolved this situation directly with them. I called Priceline but was told due to wait times I would receive a call back in an hour and a half. I spoke at length with the guest representative, showing him my Priceline confirmation and offering to show him proof that the charge was pending on my credit card, but he said that he could not check me in "per hotel policy." I asked to speak to the manager on duty, and he informed me that "she had left for the day but would tell me the exact same thing." Only after I insisted a couple of times did he finally call the MOD but got her voicemail. By this point I was frustrated and could not understand why I was being punished for some miscommunication between Priceline and the Best Western Plus in Monterey. I paid my money and any problems between Priceline and Best Western should be resolved between them. When I asked him what he would do if he were in my situation, he stated that he wouldn't have booked a hotel through a third party company. Very helpful. He encouraged me to re-book my reservation through Best Western at a higher rate than what I paid to Priceline and then he would be able to allow me to check in. So much for compassion and understanding. The representative uttered the same refrain each time I tried to explain the situation - "I understand" - but understanding did not translate to warmth or welcome or real understanding or anything that I have come to associate with the hotel industry. I worked in a hotel during college and cannot imagine a guest services representative not trying to find a better solution than leaving a guest to wait in the lobby for Priceline to call and sort the situation out. Would it have killed him to offer me a room until everything could be resolved? It turned out that Priceline was having technical problems system wide and that many hotels with guests facing similar situations were actually allowed to check in at other hotel properties. Had I booked into a nicer hotel, I suspect that would have happened, but instead I looked like an idiot sitting in the lobby with my wife, watching other guests check in. The Best Western representative was doing his job to be certain, following the instructions given to him by his boss, but he was more robot than man, and only offered an apology for the situation when I actually pressed him for one. And a halfhearted apology it was. He put the entire blame on Priceline and did not acknowledge that Best Western had any part in the poor handling of the situation. Exasperated, my wife and I finally left. When I told him we were leaving, his completely tone deaf, "Have a great night!" underscored a terrible situation. Needless to say, I would never stay at this property and hope that nobody else has to go through the embarrassment I experienced today. I am a healthcare provider and know something about service. This was poorly handled from beginning to end. There are many wonderful places to stay in Monterey. This is not one of them.

This is an exceptionally well-managed property in a great location with good amenities. No hiccups during our eleven day stay. Management and front desk were very service-oriented, housekeeping was excellent. Walkable to downtown. Handicapped accessible room was well-designed, especially the bathroom with a true roll-in shower. My only wish was for another lamp in the room.

Quiet, safe space. Beautiful balcony, and the most comfortable bed I've had in a hotel in Monterey. It was close to everything I was planning on doing in the city. The parking elevator was easy and made coming back after long days so much better.

This is the best "Best Western Plus" we've ever been to. The management is very professional and makes sure every detail is perfect from the beautiful flowers outside to the towels on the rack. We felt the hotel lobby, elevators and rooms were safe and sanitized during these COVID precautionary times too!

This hotel always has friendly and helpful staff. The rooms are clean and updated. It is just a quick walk to restaurants downtown for dinner. Easy drive to wharf, aquarium, and local beaches. Worth a stay.

Overall great suite, easy check in. Room was comfortable. Parking is underground which I thought was a big plus, take elevator up to your room. If I'm back in the area I won't definitely consider staying here again. Hotel staff was friendly and solved any issues.

The hotel was really nice and easy to find. We arrived late in the evening and found our room with a clean room sticker on it. We had a corner room, which was huge! They had nice to go breakfast bags that we grabbed. Our only complaint was that the internet was really slow the next morning, and we could hear the movements of the people above us walking around.

The room was clean, which is the most important thing for me. Beds were comfy. Breakfast was decent, we appreciated the fruit and granola bars that came with breakfast. Location was fine, short drive to beach and shopping/food.

The front staff were nice. The rooms were nice enough, but the beds could have been more comfortable and I'm not a fan of their pillows. They are small and not firm enough in my opinion. Overall, it was a decent stay. No huge issues, also nothing really to tout.

We love this hotel, in fact, it's the second time we've stayed there in the last 6 months. It's convenient to attractions without being in the middle of downtown. On site parking. Rooms are super clean and large. We had a balcony and opened the door during the night to let the cool breeze in. Convenient to the Defense Language Institute, which was very important to me. Free breakfast, even during COVID (grab and go breakfasts) and the coffee was fresh and hot. Excellent hotel. We will definitely stay here again.

The rooms are nice, customer service were very friendly, and clean . It was slight noisy due to stairs or people walking back and fourth about 4:00 am in morning. Breakfast burritos were warm and danish were fresh but I like my foot hot. wifi could be faster or they can improve on the wifi speed.

Qiet area and a a pretty morning run. Beautifully maintained hotel grounds. Very clean and we all felt safe there. Everyone we met from the staff was so helpful and assuring. Inside of the hotel was clean and updated. I would stay here again anytime I am back in the area.

We arrived a bit early and was hoping to get checked in. However we were greeted by a sign (not a desk clerk) telling us that they will not early check in anyone due to the COVID. Coming back at 3PM we were greeted by a friendly clerk who checked us in. The room we got was large because it was for handicapped people. The room was clean and had a refrigerator, a Flat screen TV and a coffee maker, BUT NO MICROWAVE. I inquired at the desk how were we suppose to heat anything up. The response was that none of the rooms had microwaves and that you would have to come down and use the one in the lobby. Another thing that was odd, there was no AC in the rooms. You could heat them but not cools them. However it should be mentioned that the heater was very efficient. The Grab and Go breakfast was not as good as the one in Capitola. There were really no choices. You got bag with a piece of fruit, a granola bar, yogurt (whatever flavor they threw in) and depending on the day a croissant or a Danish wrapped in a sealed plastic bag. Other things... a soda machine but no candy machine. I found it was hard to find the drive way into and out of the hotel during the day a bit challenging, but a lot worse at night.

We were very happy with our 2 queen room with balcony. It was good sized, clean and the large slider to the balcony was great to leave open for fresh ocean air (no a/c). I would've enjoyed some chairs on the balcony. Beds, pillows and linens were extremely comfortable. Walls are a bit thin, but not terrible. Location was good and there are lots of restaurants within walking distance.

Really happy with our stay here. The hotel has a new, modern look and feel, from the lobby to the room to the facilities. Room was a really good size, nicely appointed, clean, and pleasant. If you're traveling with family, this is a great spot and in close driving distance to all the popular Monterey attractions.

Not a good value for price considering lack of hot breakfast, constant beeping alarm through night, sparse towels, no airconditioning, and the missing fireplaces. Kind of pricy considering altogether value in my opinion.

Excellent accomodations and definitely a "plus" in terms of location, service, adjusting to poor air quality, information, cleanliness and ease of parking. The grab bag breakfast was a welcome surprise, as was the quality of the coffee!

Great place. Clean and well maintained. Breakfast was lacking, due to COVID. But a great place to stay with kids. Pool was warm and clean. All workers were courteous, hard working, and helpful. They all wore masks too!

All of the staff are very friendly and extremely accommodating. Any question or request was responded to promptly and efficiently. Extremely clean, which is extremely important, especially during this pandemic. I would definitely stage here in the future!

The staff that we had met were really helpful and great. The room that my partner and I rented was one of the bigger rooms with the balcony and fireplace and exceeded our expectations. We felt that we definitely needed to come back again in the near future.

I cannot express more how satisfied we have been with BW in the past well we have only stayed at BW motels and each time has been above expectations....although our trip to the USA has been cut short due to vivid-19, we will be back and intend on staying at BW hotel's everywhere.

King room was ok but no sound insulation and inconsiderate guest above us. Balcony but no view. Nice reception area but didnt find staff did more than necessary, and no coupons or maps offered to us. Small loo/shower room with sink outside it, I don't like that . Did have a fridge in the room. Help yourself to coffee in reception area, no facility in room Breakfast room is small and buffet style, was quite shocked by the use of paper plates and cups for coffee, plastic cutlery and cups for juice - in this day and age thats a no no. Free underground parking, reasonable location, bed comfy, good TV Ok for a couple of nights but wouldn't want it to be longer

We had a week at this BW - everything was good for us - location is ideal for walking to downtown restaurants and the farmers market. Our room was a good size, clean and well maintained with a tub and fireplace. Staff were friendly and helpful.

We had a room on the 1st floor, with two twin beds. It had a very large window and a balcony door. Huge closet, a little office and huge space on front of the beds where I could stretch in the morning. Breakfast was ok except for the boiled eggs which for some reason tasted gross, maybe someone should look into that from the management. Parking is conveniently located right under the building, so you are just steps away from the elevator. I had a great stay and must say I loved the layout of the room and hotel. Please note that no gym is available. The elevators where also kind of funky.

I was hesitant to stay at this Hotel, as it's been years since I've stayed at Best Western. There were limited options for us being that it was Valentine's Day. The location was easy to get to the Aquarium and Cannery Row, the hotel and staff were awesome. Our room was large, with 2 king beds, perfect for our family of 4. Breakfast was what we needed and again, staff was super friendly. The only negative would be that the bathrooms were a bit dated, but honestly, it was still cute and fit our needs. I would for sure stay here again!

The rooms are the cleanest we have seen in a very long time. The staff is super friendly and helpful . And lots of free parking. We will for sure stay here again. Only downfall is the walls are paper thin and unfortunately some people are not considerate of others and slam the doors as they go in and out. It isn't hard to hold the handle and turn it but some people find it difficult for some reason. I'm glad we brought a fan that is pretty loud and helped a lot.

We usually stay across the street when in Monterey but decided to splurge this time. Mistake. The bed was so saggy I had to have a cushion under my butt or would have broken my back sleeping on it. Breakfast? Tiny little room, absolutely packed solid, with a slab of yellow plastic "un-scrambled" eggs for breakfast. Yuk. When was the last time you saw a Best Western room with no desk and no microwave? Luckily it was freezing here so we didn't need air-conditioning, but in the summer . . . It was a big corner room, but it didn't even have a proper bathroom. Just like a Motel 6 you have to brush your teeth etc. in the middle of the bedroom. Won't be staying here next time.

Delightful stay with comfortable, clean and reasonably priced facility central to town and well staffed. Resent requirement for minimum number of words in review, having said what I considered adequate number of words.

Staff are great very helpful. Good location. 10 min walk to town. 15 min to pier. Breakfast area was a little busy but once the weather warms up they have a nice outdoor area. Easy drive to all other attractions in the area.

I am always apprehensive when I check in even though I tried studying each place. I was reassured the minute I spoke to the front desk personnel. Very friendly and most helpful. What more could anyone ask for?

Great Place to stay. Very clean. Polite professional staff. Every hotel employee including housekeeping,cooks,front desk,maintenance staff were very polite. I felt very comfortable and it was nice and quiet.

We spent eight perfectly pleasant nights here during our visit to Monterey and the surrounding area. We arrived at check-in time. We were greeted and checked-in by Jose at the front desk who was very friendly and professional. He also gave us maps of the surrounding area and coupons for local restaurants. We were checked-in quickly and efficiently. We booked an oversized room with a king sized bed, balcony and fireplace. We were not disappointed at all! The room was at it was promised. Plenty of space to be had, a nice fireplace with a sitting area and good sized bathroom area. The room was kept very clean with toiletries and towels in good supply. The Keurig coffee maker was a nice touch and the refrigerator provided was of good enough size. The balcony was large and, since the weather was good, we were able to make use of that. We also spent a few nights by the fireplace with some wine which was a really great way to end a day of exploring Route 1. Breakfast here is included. The breakfast room was a bit small and got loud and a bit hectic on the weekends as there were parents around with their kids. There is seating in the lobby should the breakfast room fill up. The slight issue with that was the automatic door that opened frequently which would fill the lobby with cold air. The breakfast area was attended by two very good staff members who kept the food stocked and the place clean. The breakfast options did not change so we were a bit bored with them after eight nights. But, it was included so that was fine. Parking is in a garage right under the hotel. We did not have a problem finding a spot even at night but that might be a different story during the summer months. There are plenty of places to eat within walking distance. The major attractions are not far away either but some, such as the aquarium, are a long walk so it may not be a bad idea to drive to some or take an Uber. We enjoyed our stay and it was the perfect base for us as we explored Montery and Big Sur. We would stay here again for sure. Great job by the entire staff. Kudos to all of you.

The hotel itself is nicely located and had large 2nd floor room. Wife was kept up due to snoring in next room. I had booked a room through Booking.com which had a “no cancellation” policy. Tried to switch to the following week due to rain. Best Western refused to accommodate my request. No manager on duty to talk to.

This was our 4th or 5th stay here. Decided to return because they treated us well previously. Noticed some subtle differences (upgrades) since our last visit. First and most significant was the installation of 2 (for this room) brand new sliding glass doors and screens. The old ones were so claptrap that they needed some add on bars to secure them in a closed position. The new ones slide easily and lock properly. Second, was the addition of glass glasses and ceramic coffee cups. Coupled with the K-Cup machine made for an pleasant morning and evening on the balcony. Towels appear to have been upgraded as well. This was a very pleasant 4 day stay in Monterey. I still feel that the breakfast could be upgraded a bit and the breakfast room is WAY TOO SMALL. There is an outside overflow area and the lobby is available. Both are not that acceptable in my opinion. After being out of our room for a solid 6 hours one day we returned to find our room not serviced. Had to ask the front desk for immediate service. Was given an excuse of too many checkouts which are done first, Not a hotel expert but would take a good look at that procedure for efficiency!!!

Although on a main street the hotel is quiet. Location is perfect for checking out downtown and the wharfs. Clean, friendly, breakfast, free parking are all plusses. Bed was nice and firm but pillows were terrible. The room bathroom lights are motion detectors which was not friendly in the middle of the night. The loud garbage truck arrived at 5:54 a.m.

The people always are the ones that make a hotel ok or great. This hotel has exceptional leadership and well trained staff. They care. And the facility shows it. My crews and I stay many nights a year. Everything is clean and works. Food is good too.

We did an overnight here on a road trip and it was perfect. Lobby and room attractively decorated and most importantly spotless. We got to breakfast early and had no problem getting a table, but could see when we left at 8 there was overflow into the lobby (but again, lobby is pleasant). Highly recommend!

We've stayed in numerous BW /BW Plus hotels through the years and this is by far one of the best we had ever stayed. Delivered as claimed. The staff were very friendly and helpful at the reception desk. We were assigned a room at a quiet location as requested. The room was very clean and tidy with a soft-tone decor which made you feel very cozy and relaxed. The fan was put on to ventilate the room - a nice surprise! The linens were clean and very soft and comfortable. One distinct feature about this hotel is that they have a two-level underground garage parking which added extra security.

This is the 7th year we have stayed here with a group of friends. Staff always friendly and helpful. Facilities is well maintained and very clean. It is conveniently located for shopping and sightseeing. We would recommend this Inn.

Best Western Plus Monterey Inn is a great place to stay. It is centrally located and close to shopping and recreational events. There is plenty of garaged parking and the continental breakfast is wonderal with many breakfast foods to choose from. Each time I travel to Monterey, this is the place where I chose to stay.

This is a perfectly fine hotel. It's clean and comfortable. I'd stay here again, it's not in the middle of things which is good and bad. I prefer to be a little closer to restaurants or a lounge. It's not that this hotel is far, I just prefer to be within a block or two.

This hotel was good value, in a good position with lots of restaurants around, and a 15 minute walk to Fishermans Wharf. Rooms all good, and breakfast was great. All in all great value, as a UK travel agent I will be recommending to my customers. Thank you!

Nice place. Not overly friendly but OK. Breakfast OK. Breakfast room too small. Room reasonably clean and comfortable. Occasional chairs in room painfully ugly and uncomfortable. Good location. Good parking. Price not too unreasonable. You won't be unhappy staying here.

After visiting San Francisco, we had a few days before going home so decided to visit Monterey and the surrounding area. We chose this hotel because of the reviews and price although it seemed to be a lot more expensive to stay at the weekend. We only intended staying a couple of nights but ended up staying for four nights. The hotel is situated about 10 minutes walk from the wharf and the area is quite flat so the walk to the seafront was pleasant and easy. Our room was large as was the bed which was comfortable. The decor is slightly dated but the room was very clean so no problem. There is a small outdoor swimming pool with a few sun loungers around it which we used once and despite being at the front of the hotel, the area was quite private. The Breakfast experience was a little disappointing. For the size of the hotel, the breakfast area was tiny and was like a school canteen. It was difficult to find a table which meant that the overspill of people were eating at tables in the hotel reception area each morning that we stayed here. In fact, breakfast was a bit of a bun fight which we didn't enjoy. The breakfast was a buffet style and the choice of food was also not very good, especially the cooked food. There was a member of staff in the breakfast area but the interaction with guests was non existent. There was ample free underground car parking. The staff on reception were friendly, efficient and helpful. The hotel was a good base to explore the surrounding area such as the Big Sur, Carmel and Pebble Beach. Like other hotels in the area it was over priced but was cheaper than most others closer to the beachfront.

Very convenient and right next to the Fishermans wharfs. Very clean inside. Also very speedy check-in and check-out. Very friendly and informative, as far as what's around the area and what we should check out in our free time

We enjoyed our recent stay at the Best Western Plus Monterey Inn for two nights. We found it to be a great base for time spent in the Monterey area. North of the hotel we hiked at Henry Cowell Redwoods State Park. In Monterey, we were able to walk to the historic San Carlos Cathedral, to walk along the 18 mile Monterey Coastal Trail, through Cannery Row and even, 2 miles away from the hotel, to the Monterey Bay Aquarium. Carmel and its attractions were less than an hour away, and Pacific Grove is right next door. Our room, 226, faced trees and was a pleasant place to stay for two days. Please see photos. We had a balcony, although with no chairs, and a little sitting area. There was a desk with lamp and chair, a flat screen TV, a small fridge, sensor lighting, lots of room to move around, a coffeemaker, a bench, 2 luggage racks, an iron and ironing board (yay!), a comfy bed, a ceiling fan but no a/c, which was not needed. The bedside lamps had outlets for charging electronics but no USB ports. The bathroom had a clear glass shower with nice shower head, marble counterhairdryer, shampoo, conditioner and two bar soaps. Although we were on the 2nd floor, we had no issues with noise from the floor above or from rooms on either side of us. Parking was free! There was coffee and hot water for tea set up in the lobby for all hours. The full breakfast buffet was great for starting out a day of exploring the Monterey area: eggs, sausage, 2 waffle makers, yogurts, fruits, cereals, etc. The patio outside was nice for breakfast dining. Hotel staff was pleasant...all shifts. We have no complaints except for one, and this is because of the city: the 6:30 a.m. trash truck racket. Why so early? Most importantly, the hotel was clean in all areas: our room, the lobby, the grounds and the dining area. I highly recommend this Best Western for a stay in Monterey/Pacific Grove!

The staff are very friendly and the rooms are nice and clean, just what you want in a visit to the city by the ocean. A great place to stay. The breakfast is the perfect start to the day, anything you can think of for breakfast, eggs, sausage, cereal, fruit, you name it, great hotel to stay.

Recently had to evacuate due to Sonoma County fire. After 2 nights on my office floor, I decided to make the most of the forced time away from home. This hotel was amazing. The morning breakfasts were hearty and delicious, the beds and linens comfy and our room was so spacious. The location was great, within walkind distance to a spa and the beach. A short drive up the road to Whole Foods and a complete shopping center. Very relaxing time!

the place is nice and they look to be in the middle of a remodel. the rooms are clean and smell good and the bed linens are clean and new. for this price and being in Monterrey i would expect quality customer service that arent rude and untrained across two shifts. i have seen better breakfasts at 79 dollar a night chain hotels it looked to be the bare minimum required of a franchisee and the coffee is watered down that creamer couldnt fix. the cleaning staff is nice. dont call me crazy but 200 plus a night i expect upbeat courteous knowledge staff. hella strange to me that security lounges around in the lobby area at night instead of being wandering around in the multiple dark levels of the underground parking garage.

Well maintained. Secure underground parking.Very clean rooms with a substantial breakfast. All for a reasonable price. I was impressed and would recommend. We arrived early after driving from San Francisco but they were able to accommodate us. I would not have been upset had we been told that we had to wait. Thank you. Easy to find off of the highway and only minutes from the wharf and downtown shopping.

First of all. the Reservation desk counter was extremely high. In my accessible room the bathroom sink and mirror were also high and couldn't even see myself in the mirror and bathroom counter was just below my chin level. Walls were paper thin and could hear neighbors speak.

The hotel was was pleasant. Our room was large and clean and had a neat balcony and sliding door to let in cool air. Nicely decorated. Negatives were a shower with little space for toiletries and the lack of a microwave in the room.

We stayed four nights at this hotel and loved it. Very convenient to everything. Staff is friendly and rooms are older but immaculate, great attention to detail. Breakfast was very good too. No a/c but screens on door and even closed we were very cool.

Stayed on the 3rd floor. Our room was clean, and had all the amenities needed. They pay attention to detail in regards to toiletries and the desk area, tv, and info. about things to do in Monterey. Short walking distance to the harbor, shopping and restaurants. We had dinner at an excellent Chinese restaurant down the street. Only drawback was that I didn't sleep well - the bed was soft and lumpy (maybe just my preference being a harder mattress), and it was noisy at times, as doors from other rooms and the elevators down the hall were loud enough to wake me. The floor was also creaky when walking around, too. Maybe the place has just aged a bit - but haven't we all? I can be loud and creaky, too! Otherwise it was a good place to stay for our purposes.

We always stay at this Best Western Plus in Monterey. Never disappointed with the service, amenities and cleanliness. Close enough to the waterfront to walk so no need to take the car out of the free parking garage.

Hotel was ideal for 3 friends travelling the coast. We stayed here only for a night but staff were very friendly including providing a roll out bed. Breakfast was ok, and it's an idea location for walking to a few bars etc. All in all next visit to the area I will stay here again

Loved our stay here. The rooms are spacious and clean. The hotel is well located for the sites but it is also quiet. Very friendly and helpful staff. The only negative would be the breakfast area is a little soulless and canteen-like. That is being picky though. For the money it's well worth it.

Had such a nice stay and enjoyed the location so much we booked a 2nd night. The location is just at the top of one of the main streets so ideal for going into town and down the Wharf. Parking underground which felt nice and safe. We tried the pool out both nights and enjoyed it and the hot tub.The only downside I'd say is that the rooms can be a little noisy, so I'd recommend a higher floor (We were on the 1st) and there's no air-con although our rooms had a ceiling fan which at our time of the year was nicer than air-con. A very nice stay.

This hotel was a good value forthe area. You probably still need to drive most places but there is a trade off between hotels that are close to attractions and more expensive vs driving to attractions. Parking rates were reasonable in attractions areas like Cannery Row but we were there in late September. The parking garage was convenient with an elevator directly to your room floor. No A/C but at our visit, this was not an issue. The room itself is very large but has a small bathroom area. All this space and a small bathroom. Did not make sense. I would stay here again in the future.

Fall vacation with are daughter and the BW hotel was a perfect choice to stay at . The hotel is nice and modern and the room we stayed in had two king beds and were very comfortable. The breakfast has just the right amount of options for health meal. We would definitely recommend this place for a great stay .

This hotel was a good value for the area (Monterey). The only negatives were that the rooms have no air conditioning and the walls are thin, so you can hear your neighbors. The rooms were clean, but average in amenities and comfort.

We discovered this site through reviews on TripAdvisor. Our room was on of the best! Corner room with balcony! You could see the ocean and was a quite room. Road nearby but nothing loud or annoying. The morning breakfast was awesome, offering fresh scrambled eggs, sausage, fresh breads, waffles, fruit, coffee, juices served until 10:00 a.m. Front desk staff were friendly and caring. Parking was easy as it was a garage located below the hotel with lots of parking. Easy drive to Fishermans Wharf and Cannery Row. You could walk to there in 15 minutes. Everything in Monterey is close by: 10 minutes to Carmel, aquarium, wharf, grocery stores. A must do is 17 mile drive around Pebble Beach. The north gate is just 10 minutes from the hotel, it does cost $10.50 for a pass, but well worth it. Stop st Spanish Bay beach and all the spots along the drive! The aquarium is near Cannery Row and is must see. The Best Western has a 2 day pass for the price of one! We stayed at the aquarium for 4 hours! Wonderful memories of all the fish and exhibits. Best Western Plus in Monterey is a great value and location!

Main lobby is beautiful, rooms seem to have been recently updated. Some minor cosmetic issues which were cheaply or lazily addressed. It seems as though they are in the middle or starting more renovations as the parking garage has a good bit occupied by building materials for the hotel. This presented no problem for parking as there were still spots left and I assume it is off season. Breakfast is a great deal waffles, eggs, sausage, yogurts, fruit and assorted baked goods. Decent areas inside and outside to eat. Beds were ok, nothing overly comfortable. No AC, but that is made clear and also not an issue. Room got stuffy so we just opened the slider. There is an overhead ceiling fan. There is a fridge in the room, but no microwave. I would have enjoyed my stay more if staff was a little friendlier. I'm pretty easy going, so having an issue says something. They weren't outright rude, but not overly helpful. Unrelated, pizza place directly across the street was amazing.

We were here for a conference and found this to be a nice walking distance from the convention center. After sitting the day away learning great information the walk back to the hotel got the blood flowing and refreshed us to be ready to enjoy a nice dinner near by. The hotel rooms did not have A/C...Which caused concern but the outside temps were cool and each room has a ceiling fans to move air, and we slept like babies!!! The beds were great, They serve breakfast of hot cereals, waffles, eggs, meats, and fruit. What more could you want! We would stay again!

Hotel is a 15 minute walk to Fisherman's Wharf. Good size rooms, comfortable beds, refrigerator, coffee, nice breakfast, and covered parking, make this hotel a good choice for a perfect stay. When in Monterey, we will definitely stay here again.

Arrived and liked the underground parking with elevators to all floors. My room was on the Third floor above the main entrance to the lobby. No air conditioning but not a problem as evenings are cool. Room was huge! Clean with comfortable beds. Coffee maker with coffee and fridge provided but could have used a small microwave. Breakfast was a nice selection and better than expected. Employees at desk & cleaning staff very friendly & helpful. Loved being able to bypass the lobby to get to my car in garage. If staying here, ask for a room not over the lobby front doors. It will be quieter & you can open the sliding door in your room for more fresh air. Location is perfect! Easy access to cannery row, aquarium, downtown, del Monte center, hyw 1 to Carmel & big Sur. Very friendly staff. Don't be afraid to ask for what you need, they seem to care about making your stay enjoyable.

The hotel entrance and lobby are very welcoming and look great. The reception staff are really helpful. Special thanks to the man on reception (can't remember his name!) who helped point out good places to go and some cool bars !! Rooms are a bit dated and there isn't any air conditioning so be prepared to have the fan on. Location is great. Just off highway 1 and really close to the Main Street and Fishermans Wharf. Also a close drive to 17 mile drove. Some cool bars and coffee shops in the Main Street too. The only downside of the hotel is the breakfast room. It is not fit for purpose and is nowhere near big enough. Ok it doesn't need to seat everyone but 5/6 tables is not enough. The selection for breakfast is ok nothing to shout about but could be worse. We would recommend for a 1 or 2 night stay for a trip to Monterey.

Great staff, large,clean rooms- I have stayed here for both business and leisure, and will be back! The property is conveniently located close to downtown and the piers, the beach is within reasonable walking distance; most main attractions easy to get to. Sometimes the seals can be heard at night!

In terms of the location I just wish it was closer to Old Town Monterey. My wife's knees disagree with the walk to our favorite downtown restaurant. This was our second stay here and will say it was comfortable and pleasant. Just felt the room carpet could use a cleaning and perhaps an update of the furnishings. Most motel beds are way too soft for me/us and this was no exception. Never will understand the different nightly room rates. Same room, same service, same everything including the same customer but different rate!!! Liked the third floor fireplace rooms numbered 320 to 323, they offer a distant but pleasant view of the bay. Also a nice breeze was always present when the patio door was opened. Spent several pleasant times on the little balcony listing to the omnipresent screeching of the resident sea gulls. All in all a nice pleasant coastal visit for these central valley California residents.

I stayed on the 3rd floor had a nice little view of the ocean it's in distance though had a fireplace room is roomy at least the room I stayed in can't say anything about other rooms. A little noisy in street rooms. Extremely clean and always a great staff. A great location for walking. Always great rooms. We stay there every time we go to Monterey, usually 3 times a year. I love the used towel basket in the bathroom. I don't like putting towels on the floor. Great touch.

We stayed for three nights, in a room with two king beds. The room was spacious, very clean, and quiet. There is free parking and an elevator that serves the parking garage and hotel. The staff are amazing; so helpful and friendly. We would definitely stay here again.

Surprisingly noisy hotel, but very comfortable and clean, breakfast was good, cheese and wine at 4.30 til 5.30 was also good, well it's free so why not, staff are lovely, very friendly and helpful. And a short walk to the bustling harbour, pity it's a little noisy at night, maybe it was just the 2 nights we were there.

What a fabulous overnight stay we had. The Delux King with Balcony room is HUGE with 2 opening sliding doors. No air-con but you don't need it. There is ceiling fan but we didn't use it. Beds are so comfortable. Very close proximity to walk to main street and Marina. Staff are so lovely and the breakfast is great! Lots of variety. Definitely recommend and would stay again if we came back to Monterey.

We stayed here for one night on our drive to LA from San Fran. We had a double room with two queen beds which was very spacious and plenty for our family of four. The room was clean and the bathroom was very large. Breakfast was also included in our stay and was perfect for us, with my girls enjoying their scrambled eggs! Would definitely recommend.

Great location! This hotel was top-notch! The front desk staff and the cleaning staff were very pleasant and friendly. We were upgraded from a 2-queen room to the 2-king room. It was VERY roomy and very comfortable. The beds were truly amazing! They told us they just put new mattresses in the rooms in the last 6 months. It was the most comfortable bed I've ever slept on! The pillows were great too. The room was very clean and comfortable. We also had a balcony with table and chairs. Nice pool too even though it was a little chilly to swim. Very relaxing! Can't say enough about how nice this hotel was! Very accommodating! I highly recommend it! Stayed 4 nights in June 2019.

My wife and I wanted to go to Monterey for the weekend getaway. We usually try to stay the BWP Victorian Inn on Cannery Row. However, it was not available and we were a little further out this go around. the BWP on Abrego is nice, clean and remodeled. It is less than 10 minutes away from the Wharf and Cannery Row; walking distance to various restaurants and conference center is relatively close. The parking is free (nice); breakfast is good; lobby with coffee and computers (Apple) are available and not usually crowded. We tried to get another night but the rooms were all booked up. Anyway, if you don't need to be on Cannery Row, then save some money and stay a few minutes out and enjoy the BWP on Abrego street.

Stop off point on a road trip. The timing was bad as the US Open was on in Pebble Beach a few days later and we were unable to do the 17 mile drive. Everything in Monterey is within easy walking distance. The accommodation was clean comfortable and very spacious. Friendly helpful staff. Recommend the whale watching boat trip.

I have been going to this Inn for approx. 35 years. So many great memories with my children, and now with my grandchildren. The only down fall to this Inn, is it's getting very expensive. I usually rent 3 to 4 rooms, and it's getting expensive to treat my kids.

I live by the ocean and know that it is not true that air conditioning is not a must, especially in a hotel. People come to hotel for comfort away from home. It is unacceptable to me that guests would be required to use a ceiling fan and open their patio door (very unsafe) in order to have a bit of relief from a hot, stuffy room. This hotel just spent money to remodel. It is really pretty, but the stay was ruined for me by not having the foresight to install air conditioning for those who prefer it and those who need it.

We spent two nights in this hotel for our coastal trail experience around the Monterey Bay and Pacific Grove area. The hotel location is within 20-minute walk to the old Fishterman's wharf and if you don't mind, another 20 minutes will take you to Cannery row. But there is also a free trolley service at the intersection of Pearl and Munras every 10 to 15 minutes from 10 to 6 that takes you around the Monterey area. The hotel also offers free parking for your car in its underground garage. There is lot of dining options around the hotel area so you don't really have to travel far for food. My corner balcony room was one of those that had just been renovated recently. It is very good size including the bath area. The two King beds were comfortable and I had no complaint. I observed some rooms close to mine were still under construction and some building materials like doors and panels were stacked in the garage area. The indoor breakfast area was not big, but you can take the food to the outside court with heat lamp. Additional table space were also in the lobby right in front of the reception desk. The only negative I found during my stay was the loud bathroom fan and I heard the same from the upstairs room as well. And my wall appears to be thin enough for me to hear people talking next door or walking upstairs. So depending on your luck, noise is a potential issue. Otherwise this one is a winner.

Great location to Monterey Bay Aquarium and Pier. Room is big and clean, bed is very comfortable. Parking garage is a little strange, each levels of underground parking is not connected. Only few thing bad about my stay is my room is next to the elevator, which is noisy, and there are strong of odor of marijuana or paint when we came our of our room. Overall experience is good. Recommend to stay again.

We ended up coming to this Best Western location in Monterey because the other one we had selected only had upstairs rooms with no elevator and my aunt couldn't make the climb. This location was very accommodating and the parking garage had good parking and an elevator that made it very accessible. Very friendly staff and good breakfast. Also liked the decor of the lobby area. Only issue was the bathroom was dated and the shower was teeny tiny!

Great size room-enormous! The staff was gracious and the housekeeping was 5 Stars. Best free breakfast of any place in the area. Dennys is right down the street if you prefer. Ask for the ocean view!!

I have stayed in a number of Best Western's over the past several years and this one ranks at the top. It all starts with the front desk. When we arrived they were very friendly and efficient. One of the great things about this hotel was that when we were there with their garage their was plenty of parking and elevators run quite close to a number of parking spots. The room I had was quite large as well as the bathroom and the bed was so comfortable that I'm trying to see if I can buy one for my home. The room also had excellent lighting for reading or working. The breakfast provided had quite a good variety of items. It can get crowded so time it right so you don't have to sit outside even though they provide heat lamps for cold mornings. This isn't the closest hotel to the pier and tourist spots but I think that is a plus. it has easy access to roads going to Carmel and the peninsula and is only about 5-10 minutes from the pier. If you don't feel like driving there are also a number of varied restaurants within walking distance. I will definitely return to this hotel next time I'm in the area.

Usual best Western. Nice clean large rooms. What sets this one apart is the excellent service. I left my Kindle in the room and they went out of their way to reach me and then ship it to me by UPS and I appreciated that. Only negative is for a hotel the size they should have some going to self service laundry available. Would definitely stay here again to two friendly and competent service by everyone we encountered.

We were very pleased with our stay here n early May. It's located close to downtown Monterey & Fishermans Wharf, easily within walking distance for average walkers. The hotel is well appointed. The young lady that checked us in was very efficient & helpful. She got us checked in & gave us info & map to the local area. The room was comfortable & felt newer. There was an extended continental breakfast. The food was fresh & delicious. Overall, we would stay here again!

This is my preferred hotel in Monterey. It is an excellent value for this area and they include a hot breakfast with your rate. They also have a covered parking garage which is great for rainy days. The rooms have really comfortable beds with soft pillows which help you get a good nights sleep. So if you are looking to stay in a great hotel that is really comfortable, clean, offers a hot breakfast, free wi-fi, free parking, friendly staff and in a great location don't hesitate to book a room here.

Stayed one night here with family and was really pleased with the place. Quick check in and clean and quiet with great parking. Breakfast in the morning was also great. Will definitely go back. Close to all attractions and shopping

This was a great Choice for our stay in Monterey. Hotel was spotless. Our room was beautifu. We had a king bed with a fireplace and a view of the bay. Great location. You could walk to fisherman's wharf and Cannery row if you were so inclined. It was also near the entrance to 17 mile drive. ( not to be missed!). Glad we decided to stay here instead of Carmel. It was so close to just drive there. Friendly staff. I highly recommend ''tis hotel.

The hotel has a great location the make getting to all the attractions easy. We were early so we took in the 17 mile drive at Pebble Beach. Breakfast was good but the space was cramped and didn't seat many people. The front desk staff was helpful and recommended several restaurants that were great.

Could hear our neighbors breathing and snoring through the walls. NO ac, we left and went elsewhere to stay for the week. The staff was very friendly and helpful, the free breakfast was good. But the rooms and the noise were unbearable. Would not recommend. Could of ruined our vacation had we not left because we could not sleep. Good for a couple nights max..but no longer.

Before we booked, we asked for a nice room as it was our honeymoon and we were doing the drive from LA to San Francisco . This hotel delivered and we got a massive suite, with 3 rooms , much better than we were expecting . So thank you so much for that . We stayed for one night and the location is good, as you can walk to downtown in 10 minutes or driving in less than 5. Breakfast selection is really good!! So much offer . We didn't try the pool as it was too cold , but they offer pool towels in reception. Check in and check out were super quick, done by the same lady, she was great . Will defo stay here again . It was great and we so recommend this place . Thanks again for the room upgrade!

The location of the hotel is great, it's a walkable distance to restaurants and shops, but far enough from the main tourist areas that you don't have to deal with the crowds or traffic. The room was huge - with 2 king size bed and still a ton of extra room in the room. The breakfast available had plenty of options. I've stayed here before and will absolutely stay here again. The shower seems a little small compared to the giant living/sleeping area, but everything was clean and nice.

Great place to stay. Competent and caring staff. Quiet with very nice rooms. Tour buses stop here, but they are handled very efficiently and were never a problem. Lots of off street parking and within walking distance of many different restaurants.

I was very impressed with the cleanliness of this hotel! It was a little less expensive as it is not right on the waterfront, so I splurged for a room with a fireplace and king bed. The room had ample space and the layout was nice!

We chose this hotel for a one night stay, on route between San Francisco and Los Angeles. The hotel was clean, comfortable, included breakfast and was affordable. I would recommend this property to others.

Amazing service and staff! This hotel was above and beyond in every aspect! Very clean hotel and grounds. Ample parking and within walking distance to dinner, wharf, etc. Brought my grandkids and kids for a visit up the Coast of California.

This hotel served it's purpose. Decent value. Great location; you can walk everywhere. Clean for the most part. Breakfast starts at 7am which wasn't ideal since I had to leave before that for work each morning. Ample parking. No guest laundry. Transformer (or whatever humming noise) noise outside was quite loud. Walls were very thin so over the weekend the vacationing guests were loud. I would return for the good location and decent price.

Very comfortable experience from the desk personnel to the softness of the beds. The offered hot breakfast was excellent and a welcome amenity. The hotel is close to the attractions (Fisherman's Wharf and Cannery Row).

I booked this hotel with some trepidation after reading the other reviews that noted thin walls. Unfortunately I didn't take note. I could hear the neighbors chatting quite clearly even though we had the TV on and I don't believe they were being noisy. Also the neighbors bed made quite a loud knocking noise, I can't lay too much fault on that and it was brief enough, but maybe secure the beds better so I don't have to try and make up something to distract my kids from the noise. Other than that it was clean, staff were nice and the breakfast was as to be expected. For me I would not stay there again due to the noise issues.

Great place to stay. Room was clean and spacious. Bed was comfortable and huge. I will staying here in the near future when visit Monterey again. Huge bonus points because of the places to eat right across the street. BTW, the cookies in the lobby are delicious!

This Best Western is located close to downtown Monterey. The lobby was recently remodeled and is quite lovely. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and the room was clean and comfortable. I would definitely stay there again!

Spent four nights here in March and was very happy with stay. Room size was great, with nice underground parking that was secure. Very close to all the Monterey sights - able to walk to Cannery Row, downtwon and Fishermans Wharf. Friendly helpful staff. Would definitly stay here again when in Monterey.

We found this hotel late in the day, driving through rain and fog. It offered a fair-priced comfortable room with plenty of space to spread out. Breakfast was typical hotel fare, adequate, but nothing extraordinary.

Great location and very nice rooms. All of the staff were wonderful, friendly and helpful. The covered parking was very nice. The breakfast is your typical Best Western breakfast. Would definitely stay here again while in the Monterey area.

I stayed for 3 nights midweek on business. The hotel offered an attractive rate especially considering parking and breakfast is included in the price. Check in was quick and easy. My room was huge and it almost felt like it was missing something but everything was there that I needed. The decor is a little dated but everything was incredibly clean. The shower was a good size but there is no tub if you want a bath. The amenities were decent. I had a little balcony but the view was out of the front looking over the road. Please note this hotel does not have AC so it might get uncomfortable in summer. This wasn't a problem in February! The WIFI was free and a good speed. The breakfast had lots of hot and cold options and a nice little area to sit outside if desired. One of the best features for me was the location. The main downtown area full of shops, bars and restaurants is just a 5 minute walk down the road and there is a mall the other way. No need for Taxi's or Uber if the weather is fine. Overall recommended.

So the location is pretty good, the room was pretty nice, the covered parking was great. But the breakfast was so so, no fitness center, no microwave, and a front desk that doesn't seem to care whether you are happy or not.

All in all, the staff were kind and accommodating, the room was clean and large, and the bed was extremely comfortable. Breakfast was delicious and the coffee was always fresh. We enjoyed our stay immensely. It was perfect walking distance from whatever we needed as well.

Reception staff was friendly and nice. Rooms were clean. Nice lobby. Breakfast was good. Just enough options, not too much or too little. Really enjoyed our stay. Walking distance to the Fishermans Wharf.

The room is very big, even compared to more luxurious brands. Parking is included and easy, heater at night was very good. Service was very nice. If you're arriving at night like we did, there's a 24hs Denny's around the corner. Would highly recommend it.

Arrived at this hotel parking was easy and secure. The lady on reception was very polite and helpful and got to the room excellent very very surprised it was comfortable clean homely beautiful log fire absolutely superb. Breakfast was a delight full range of products.very clean very welcoming would stay here again excellent choice.

Lovely decorated grounds gives you peace in mind. Buddha statues and shrines adds atmosphere positive energy. Rooms are new and has tasteful interior. Bath and bedroom were very clean to make you feel home. Free parking. Breakfast was self service, good selection.

Best Western plus hotel was a great stay at a great price. The staff was one of the friendliest that I have the pleasure meeting. Room was clean and the location was perfect. Jose that check is in went out of his way to help us check in and give us directions to all the attractions and the my meeting location. He made us feel like family. Great experience I highly recommend this hotel!

We stayed here for two nights with our 2 and 4 year old kids. The rooms are large and very clean. The continental breakfast is great! Waffles, eggs, toast, cereal, decent coffee etc. The staff is friendly and attentive. Lots of restaurants, Trader Joe's and the warf are all within a 5 to 10 minute walk. Aquarium is a 15 minute walk along a nice walking and biking paved trail. We will definitely stay here on our next trip to Monterey.

A very nice facility located just up the hill from the old downtown and a couple of blocks from the free MST Shuttle to all the sites. No gym on-site, but were given passes to the huge Monterey Sports Center about 5 blocks away.

Great service,friendly staff. Very enjoyable visit. Breakfast was the best we have had in any hotel. The only drawback was the breakfast room was to small. Desk staff helped with directions and restaurant suggestions.

My wife and I originally found this property late one night 7 years ago and it has since been our preferred stopping place for the Monterey peninsula. It is not super swanky like the highrise chains or boutique bed and breàkfasts nearby, but it is a clean, comfortable, centrally located, reasonably priced hotel with some value adding features. Like, a pool with hot tub, towel service. And a really excellent, free breakfast with waffle maker and fruit toppings! The staff was very friendly and helpful. I liked that the garage was elevator accessible so we were always a minute from the car. The area is filled with shopping and eateries (downtown Monterey) and it is walking distance to the Fisherman's Wharf and fine dining. We took a cab to the Monterey Bay Aquarium ($10 one way) but it turns out all day flat rate parking at Cannery Row is only $10. BTW, downtown and waterfront Monterey is a super safe area. There is no guest laundry unfortunately. I recommend upper floors if you want to avoid the pitter patter of little feet. Check prices with different booking agencies or directly with BW, as I paid $30 more for the same room through a different booking site (by accident). It is just a small preference of mine, but I do not like the old motel style design of the sink and bathroom separated. The hot tub is great even in the winter, but, it can only be accessed through the lobby(!). It is overall a good place to stay and I have been a guest multiple times. We have even tried some neighbouring competitors, and came back to BW Plus Monterey because we felt comfortable there.

We stayed for two nights had Celia on checking in, very helpful and friendly a real asset. Our room was on the ground floor and huge, there was a mall down the road and we were walking distance to the wharf so a great location. Breakfast was ok but the lack of room for the number of guests was disappointing we were outside with a outdoor heater and some people were sitting in the reception area. Apart from this we thought it was good value. Chinese restaurant across road very nice and good value.

Stayed here for a night on my points actually & it was an awesome place. Had a double queen room , mostly quiet except for few guests slamming doors loudly. From check in until check out things were great. Nice breakfast that we were able to take to our room & enjoy while sitting at small table with nice chairs & not have to eat with strangers. Very clean room. Great location close to a lot of sightseeing things & downtown. Would definitely stay here again & would recommend it highly.

We stayed at this hotel last January for a church convention as we do every January. I have been attending the convention for the past 20 years and I will say that The Best Western Plus in Monterrey IS THE BEST hotel that I have stayed at in these 20 years. Very clean, great staff and the rooms are a very nice size. I am glad that we are back for one more year.

Best Western Plus is close to shopping, tourist attractions and an overall comfortable place to stay!!The personnel at the front desk was helpful, courteous and professional. The breakfast is presented well with a great selection of different breakfast food.

Perfect location to walk into town/beach, parking on site however limited so not sure if there is extra? Rooms equipped as expected, TV's a little temperamental with odd remote. However beds were exceptionally comfortable, slept like an absolute log and didn't want to get up. Complimentary breakfast ample, although cooked breakfast items not particularly quality (microwaved egg, questionable flat sausage burger meat type thing). Saying that plenty else to enjoy, waffles, pastries, cereal, yoghurt, fruit. Good choice place to stay for Carmel.

We asked to have 2 rooms side by side as our grandmother is close to 90 years old. Placed around the corner from one another. There were old thread thin carpets, old thin drapes,paper thin walls, after he made a point of telling us he put us in a quiet area of the hotel. We pulled down the beadspread and the sheets looked unchanged, smelled like men's cologne. Breakfast was self serve buffet on paper plates and plastic forks. I wondered what the "plus" was about?

These beds are so comfortable as well as the pillows. Walls are very thin. Bring ear plugs otherwise you will get woken up at the crack of dawn by the early risers. Friendly staff, clean establishment.

Location: Placed across Fremont Street from the busiest part of town, so really convenient. Also, an excellent local bakery has its headquarters across the street in a small shopping center. Going other directions and catching route 1 is easy. Room: Large and everything worked. Price: Best I could find in Monterey, given the other considerations. Pool: I had it to myself along with the best pool towels in the world. Cons: no exercise bike but they offer free day passes to a gym; no guest laundry but they have same day service; boring breakfast, but that nearby bakery is amazing.

Hotel is very clean, offers free parking and very close walking distance to Wharf and other spots in Monterey. Rooms are spacious and with a balcony. Breakfast was good although breakfast are was a little bit packed.

We traveled the California/Oregon coastline from Pismo Beach, California to Canon Beach, Oregon with friends from Washington State.This was a 2 week road trip, stopping at different towns each night. The Best Western hotels as a whole hotel system are good, clean, economy hotels. Their breakfast are a good way to start the day.

The Front Office were very helpful although we were the last reservation to arrive ( 8pm ) would have preferred a room on ground, but were too late; room was otherwise perfect, no issues or complaints at all. On the landing outside, a large ashtray which was used by other guests, enabling them to continually stand in from of our room...not so nice, but discussed this with the manageress and was reassured it would be taken care of. If not, avoid the room, but everything else was in order !

We really enjoyed our stay here. Staff extremely polite and friendly. Great location to downtown and good transportation. Free WiFi and breakfast. Large rooms which have been tastefully remodeled out door pool.

The rooms are huge, but there is no air con. No bottled water in rooms. Reception - both the man and woman on reception during our stay seemed fairly uninterested in guests and didn't seem the best match for "front of house" positions. The breakfast was really poor. The staff working on the breakfast offering were very nice and friendly, however there are paper plates and plastic cutlery (only every experienced at kids birthday parties) - which didn't appear to have separate recycling bins to go into. The food is rubbery egg-power eggs, plastic type bread - I am sure this whole offering can be improved, it was probably the worst breakfast I have seen anywhere. It's an easy 10-15 min walk to the wharf. So for a decent price, and going out for breakfast, you get huge rooms and a comfy mattress. No air con must be a hugely issue in the summer ...

We had a great two night stay at the Best Western Plus in Monterey, although it was relatively expensive at nigh-on $500. Still, we are on holiday. Breakfasts were especially terrific, but, all in all, we were comfortable and had a well looked-after and comfortable stay. Parking was also easy.

When we arrived after a long drive I ran in to enquire where we might park. I was informed by one staff member that the parking was underneath the hotel but was told to bring our cases in and they would park the car. We checked in and after relaying what we'd been told about parking to a different member of staff I was abruptly told that they didn't provide valet parking. Now it did not matter to us, as we were more than capable of parking the car ourselves, but the staff member was incredulous about the information we'd been given and quite rude about it. Not a good start! The room (and bathroom) was dated and there was no bottled water- we had stayed in 5 different hotels on our road trip and this was the only one that did not provide water. The breakfast was adequate although it seems to be the policy of Best Westerns to use paper plates and plastic cutlery- horrible method of eating unless you are a 5 year old at a birthday party! We went to reception on a few occasions to make enquires and each time the staff member was on the phone (on a social call) and ignored us standing there. The walls seemed to be paper thin as we could hear people speaking in other rooms and I'm not sure what the people above us were doing as all night we could hear loud snoring and someone dragging a chair around. Thankfully we had only booked to stay here one night or I would have been checking out other accommodation.

Gorgeous rooms, feels really homely. Very clean & lovely beds, extremely comfortable. Hotel in great location just 5 mins walk to bars & restaurants & to the pier. Really loved our stay hear. Very relaxing & quiet but within easy reach of all that Monterey has to offer. Staff are very charming & helpful - great US customer service.

Truth be told I could not wait to get away from this hotel and it took some of the shine of being in Monterey as my wife and I hated going back to it for each of the two nights we spent there. For one thing the room stank of old cigar smoke and damp. Lovely combination. Also the rooms seem to be paper thin so we were treated to the sound of our neighbours belching and other bodily noises each night. We weren't expecting much from this hotel and we weren't wrong. Picture the type of place were the guests walk around in their pyjamas and you're there. Breakfast was a self service buffet which we didn't bother with on the second morning.

It's a nice Best Western with decent size room, comfy bed and very close to the Wharf. Staffs was awesome. Hot breakfast was good but the same everyday(scramble egg, sausages, muffins, etc...) The only complain that we have is no A/C in the room. The weather is nice and cool but you can't open the sliding door because it's so noisy from the road.

Super fancy? No, it isn't. However, absolutely everything else was spot on. Nice beds, perfectly clean, good coffee maker, and every single employee seemed genuinely happy to have you at their hotel + willing to help you. We'd stay there again in a heartbeat!

We are used to staying in 3-4 star hotels, but due to circumstances this time we had to choose a 2 to 2-/2 star hotel (as rated on Tripadvisor). I read the reviews carefully, and decided that this Best Western was our best choice. For one thing, we like a hotel with a lobby, and having our room open to an interior hallway rather than being on a sidewalk with our car parked outside our door (which most of the others here are like that). Also, we've had better experiences in the past with Best Westerns as compared to other lodging in the 2 to 2-1/2 star category. Arrival was easy, hotel clean and neat, inside and out. Check in went well. The clerk gave us a map marking where and what was going on in the area.Walking the hallway to our top floor, corner room (Thank You, BW!!) it was a bit dim and dated. NOT dirty - just dim and dated. Our room was large (another reason we chose this BW hotel), and the closet, bathroom and a dressing area was a spacious, separated area from the bedroom. We liked that, too. Our corner room was delightful for our 5 day stay. There was some ambient noise outside; humming of machines of some sort. If your sliding doors are closed, you do not hear it. If your doors/windows are open, you do. We were there on particularly warm days and nights so we had to deal with that bit of noise, since we had our doors open for some air circulation. This noise is not something the hotel has control over, and is the nature of staying in this area. Any hotel around here will have that. Practically no noise from drive-by cars at night; streets were quiet. I LOVED how the cleaning staff give such attention to detail! Even vacuuming the baseboards in the hallway.... daily, I think! Everyday, any amenities we used were replaced. I've often had little things overlooked in other hotels..... the lotion not being replenised, eye makeup remover cloths not replaced, ice bucket not emptied; but not here - everything attended to each day! Mattresses are pretty good (a B, but not an A). The breakfast room was small, as others have said here. But, food fresh and ok. The elevators were bright and clean. There is a parking garage under and behind the hotel. Location was great - not only to the Wharf, and downtown, but the bus stop is also close by. It's safe to walk. I walked the mile to Del Monte Center, shopped, ate lunch and saw a movie. Great stay! (My spouse was here on business and I went along; so I was on my own at times).

Decided to escape the central valley heat for a weekend and bookong very last minute this Best Western had a room available. I have notice that they have changed their rankings on hotel quality, a Best Western Plus is about what you would get at a Best Western in the past. Hotel was very clean, stafff very friendly. Even had a balcony in our room that we could see Fishermans Wharf from. About a 1/2 mile walk to a trolley that takes you to cannery row, a little farther and you are on the Wharf. No AC units at this hotel so if there is a heat wave you are going to get hot, thankfully the weather is usually mild in Monterey.

We stayed at this property for two nights. The location was very convenient for Fisherman's Wharf. The rooms were clean and very spacious. The staff were incredibly helpful. Breakfast was not the best in terms of options available, but the food was good. There was no room safe, which is not ideal when wanting to store passports, etc., but staff at front desk were accommodating. We felt it was a bit high priced, but we were generally satisfied with our stay here.

I travel often for work and tend to stay here when I am in the area. It is a little pricey compared to other areas but is on par, cost-wise, for Monterey. It is convenient to many of restaurants and is comfortable, clean and well run.

We drove from Vacaville to get away from fires,smoke and heat. Had no real plan. We were lucky to get the hotel. The rooms are clean as are the grounds. The service was great. We will use again for our next visit.

The Inn was great to work with. We arrived, checked in, and were able to relax and unwind from a long day on the road on a bike. Bed was great, sleep was undisturbed. We were very satisfied with this location.

The breakfast is amazing and fresh. I would suggest making sure the refrigerator and heater are working correctly upon arrival, since I had issues with mine on my stay. Other than those things the stay was good.

I loved the hotel and the breakfasts and the quietness of the hotel. I liked that you didn't have to turn on the lights when going to the bathroom at night since the detectors would light up a small light for you to see so you would not wake anyone up.

We travelled with our dogs and had a great time. we only stayed 1 night, but the room was really great, comfortable. Easy access to the beach. Would return for sure if in the area again. Easy internet access which was really handy for us.

Upon arrival the woman that checked us in was extremely pleasant and courteous. We had booked a 2 queen room, but there were 6 of us so we asked for a rollaway and they were able to accommodate us. The room was nice had a patio. They just need AC, there's no ventilation in the room unless you open the patio door unfortunately we were facing the street so we could hear the cars all night. They claim it's because the weather there is always cool, that was not the case one of the days we stayed there. If you do stay make sure you ask for a room away from the street. Other than that it's close to the wharf, free covered parking and free breakfast was good. Be aware the rollaway beds are $20 a night and anyone 13 and up are an additional $17 a night. Try to stay on a weekday. It was too pricey for being BW with no AC

The room was very large and had everything you could need. It was very clean and pretty well updated. The location was good enough just a 10 minute ($10 Uber) drive from most must visit areas in Monterey. Plenty of free indoor parking and good WiFi access. The breakfast buffet was also very good with Belgium waffles, hot meats and eggs as well as many other options. Great value for this area.

Based upon the reviews, I booked this for my husband and I for a short getaway. Upon entering the room, it smelled very musty. It was clean but didn't smell freshly cleaned. I was concerned before booking that there was no AC, but the i was assured by the agent that the slider would bring in a nice breeZe. This would of been true if we were able to leave it open refresh air inside the room. Upon retiring for the evening and after the tv was off, I noticed a loud buzzing sound coming from outside. My husband said it was coming from the power lines that were on the street. What the heck??? It was so loud that we could here it from our room and along with the high traffic noise, it was either deal with the noise or sleep in a hot room. This room may be good for the cold months but not for summer. I did complain about the room and the front desk clerk informed me that I wasn't the first to complain about the power line noise. WOW, why we weren't told upon this when they gave us our room??? They didn't have any other rooms beside one by the ice machine. Nevertheless we stayed. If this wasn't bad enough we arrived back in our room about 4pm and our rooms still wasn't serviced ??. The breakfast room was very small for the amount of guests at the hotel or if your wanted sit outside in the cold morning air that was an option. The two attendants were so busy that the tables weren't wiped off from previous People eating. The food was decent for typical breakfast but space was tight for serving and seating. Upon checkout I spoke to the Jose at the front desk and he said he never got a complaint about the power noise or the room service, Hard to believe after speaking with the first receptionist. His demeanor was not accommodating and I was just given a card and asked to call on Monday and speak to the manager. I would never stay at this property again or will recommend to anyone.

When you come to a town you've never been to before you want a hotel that is conveniently placed for some of the sights and where the staff know their stuff about the area. This BW delivered in both respects. Easy to walk to the main attractions but also there is a free trolley bus service that stops 3 blocks from the hotel and goes to Fisherman's Wharf, the Cannery and the Aquarium - all must sees. Carmel by the Sea is also only 10 mins drive away. The hotel room was spacious, the beds comfortable and all very clean. The breakfast was a little uninspiring but was sufficient. Overall a good place to stay to see Monterey, Carmel and the surrounding area.

We arrived after driving many hours to find our discounted room that we booked online did not come with a tub, only a shower. For a variety of reasons, we were very disappointed. Once you've booked online at a 3rd party discount entity, there isn't much the hotel can do. Unless they want to. Thank you Best Western for accommodating our mistake! There is lots to check when booking online through a discount service provider, we missed a detail that we were prepared to just accept... Also, fun fact if you book online at the hotel website they will price match whatever discount you find online! We'll check out the pool tonight and breakfast tomorrow, but even if it's standard, this hotel still gets 5 stars from us, because in the end, it's about the people. My family and I stayed in Monterey for a couple of days. Got a great deal. The oversized room with 2 queen beds was perfect, had enough room. We also had a cute patio with seating. Very clean and staff was nice. Free parking, wifi and breakfast. The breakfast was simple but good. I would stay here again ????

We arrived at midday and we're able to check into our room early. The receptionist on duty, whose name I didn't get but she wears a bodywarmer, was very helpful and made us feel really welcome. Our room was clean and spacious, WiFi and TV worked well. My only complaint about this hotel and the reason I give it a 4/5 is the breakfast room. It's tiny and the tables are crammed in close together. It's not the sort of place where you can relax and enjoy your breakfast. We felt it was a quick grab and go affair instead. It'd be better if it was bigger with a TV or newspapers on offer. There is a small area outside for seating but was too cold so closed. Apart from that we really enjoyed our stay here and would recommend to anyone visiting the town.

We stayed for 4 days while exploring the surrounding area. Our room was very spacious and was cleaned/replenished each day after we left. Staff was nice and responsive to any requests we made of them. Our only complaint (if you can call it that) was that the breakfast bar consisted of the same hot items every day...a little variety in the types of eggs/meats offered would have been a welcome change. Also, along one wall in the dining room there were hanging lights that we saw a good many guests bash their heads on...pot lights would have been much more appropriate here as the tables below were moveable and caused the hanging lights to hang where people stood up to leave the table. Over all it was a good stay and we would stay there again.

We used our 2-bedroom suite at the Monterey Inn for four nights, as the base for exploring the Monterey Peninsula. It was a good move. Reasonably priced, centrally located to Cannery Row, the Monterey Aquarium, Carmel, and the rest of the peninsula. The room was clean and quiet, with very comfortable beds. We started out each morning with a well-supplied breakfast and then took off for the day. The Inn is within walking distance to a number of eateries, Cannery Row and a Trader Joe's. Staff is friendly and helpful. Be advised that if you opt for the suite, there is only one bathroom. Aside from that, it's a good place to stay.

We stayed one night at this property, as we were just passing through. The hotel is about a mile from the Wharf, which was walkable for us, but may not be for others. Not too many local food choices in the area of the hotel, so keep in mind that driving or walking will most likely be necessary. Our second floor room faced the rear of the property. We didn't hear traffic from the main drag out front, but there is a busy little street to the rear, but the traffic died down overnight. The rooms are not all that quiet either as we could hear conversations from the neighboring room as well as from the hallway. On a side note, there seemed to be an above average number of rude visitors who didn't think twice to yell down the hallway or slam doors at odd hours of the night. That is NOT the hotel's fault, we just had bad luck. The room was fairly large and did not feel cramped, which is always a plus. The bed wasn't that great – super springy and bouncy. All the staff we encountered were friendly and it was a nice atmosphere. The breakfast was nice, had the basics you would enjoy at most hotels from 6-10am. There is a dedicated breakfast area, which is nice, so people aren't spilling out into the lobby and hallways.

Had a really nice stay here for our first 3 nights in California. Large and very clean room, great location, one street up from the start of Cannery Row and almost half way between the Aquarium and Fisherman's Wharf. Staff very friendly and helpful, would definitely recommend if in Monterey

I found this to be a very strange old style hotel. The location was only a short walk from Fisherman Wharf. I'm not sure if there was a certain time for vacation in June but there were a lot of elderly guests. The breakfast buffet room was like an old peoples home. There was no trouble or issues but I felt a bit out of place (and very young!) The bathroom was huge. The bed had lots of sheets tucked in and the room was quite cold. The reception area offered free wine and cheese around 4:30pm.

Walking distance to aquarium is 2 miles via the trail. Good location for Fisherman's Wharf. Underground parking is good. Outdoor access to pool/spa is very inconvenient. Aquarium tickets sold on site for 2 days at one day price. Breakfast is standard BW Plus fare.

Easy access to all areas in Monterey, Sand City, Pacific Grove. The rooms are clean and comfortable. Staff has always been helpful and friendly. Covered parking is nice. No microwave in the room, but they will let you use the one in the breakfast room.

I was pleasantly surprised by this hotel. I wasn't expecting much but the rooms were clean and spacious. Definitely book the "more space" rooms because it is worth it. We had a private balcony in our room which we had breakfast at. Breakfast is included in the rate and I liked that they had cut up fresh fruit and hard boiled eggs. You can pretty much put together a decently healthy breakfast. The breakfast room is pretty small unless you get up early or go at the tail-end of breakfast hours. This hotel is a short walk to Fisherman's Wharf and Cannery Row. Overall, I liked this place and would stay here again the next time I am in town.

We stayed one night here and the staff were probably the most friendly out of all the hotels we stayed in so far in California. The breakfast service was all excellent value for money. Everything worked and the place was very clean and cared for! Please owners spend some money on the place it is very dated and with some real investment and keeping the team it could be the best hotel in town! Well done to the manager & team it is never easy managing a tired product! For one night it's completely fine check it out they do care and want your business!

Everything about this hotel was great except the beds. For us they were hard and uncomfortable. The sheets weren't very soft either. The room was amazingly clean, which we really appreciated. The breakfast was the best ever for one of these free breakfast places. Daily they served eggs, real eggs, sausage, bread, English muffins, donuts, muffins, waffles, cereal, yogurt, fruit and juices.

This is a very nice place, but certainly not luxurious. Yes the rooms are dated, but very clean and nothing is ripped or stained. Staff is very nice and helpful. We walked back and forth to Cannery every day. 12,000 steps so about 1.5 miles each way to the Aquarium. Once you get to the waterfront (only 3 blocks) there is a beautiful walkway. Very centrally located. Easy access to mall, downtown, Pacific Grove and CA1. Carmel is just 2 exits up on CA1. If you are looking for a reasonably priced hotel with free parking, WiFi and breakfast and willing to take a walk to the sights, this is a great place...NOT fancy, but well kept and clean.

We usually stay at this hotel whenever we visit the Monterrey area. Location is good for the sites in the area and a good value. Our room was quiet and parking was convenient. We enjoy the included breakfast.

Finally got a getaway with wife,from caring for mil with Alzheimer's. This hotel was the perfect choice. Although the price changed daily because of the Big Sir running marathon. Beds were extremely hard for both of us,especially with my back. Overall, a very good experience.

Stayed here for BSIM weekend and while some of the decor could use an update, the rooms were clean and beds were comfy. Staff were friendly and helpful and seemed to deal fairly well with a full house of marathon runners and spectators, even having some breakfast essentials out before 3 a.m. for guests leaving for the starting line. Location is a good base camp for checking out Monterey and Carmel on foot or by car, and not too far from the race expo and shuttle bus stops race morning. Certainly a bit pricier for the busy BSIM weekend but not too bad if booked early.

We stayed for three nights and the hotel disappointed. Check in and staff was very friendly. The room was a bit old and the walls are very thin. The price we paid was over $220 per night which is a bit steep for the class of this hotel. The price increased over the weekend - so watch out when booking. The hotel offers free wifi and underground car parking. The price includes breakfast but that was a ‘joke'. Breakfast is offered as a very basic continental version on paper plates, paper cups for your coffee or tea and plastic cutlery. Not very environmentally friendly but I guess cost effective. I hated it and we choose to have breakfast outside in the township. There are nice places just a 5 min walk from the hotel. The location is not too bad. Everything is in walking distance. Will not recommend this hotel. Very disappointing

We stayed here for 2 nights as part of road trip in California. Clean hotel rooms and reasonable in size although would benefit from some modernisation- felt a little basic. Plenty of free parking and only 5 mins to the main attractions in Monterey. Breakfast room small but good enough choice.

Another good quality stay at Best Western. Was close to many attractions and restaurants. Received a great haircut next door. Good food delivered to the room. The only sad thing is that there are no Dogs allowed. I will stay here again in the future.

We were given room #323, which is very roomy with a nice private deck (you can see the ocean way in the background) and a fireplace. The bed was quite comfortable and we slept well. There was very little noise, except for the trash collectors. Things were quite clean and the staff were friendly and available. Also the underground parking was convenient. We suggest you go down to the lowest level, where you'll find more spaces.

The staff is friendly and professional, lobby inviting, breakfast is plentiful and tasty though the breakfast room is tight. Rooms were very clean but the bed was thin and flat, we could feel the springs and this ruined our stay. After spending all day at the Aquarium, a good sleep was what we needed. That sleep was elusive because of the bed. The room also needed an additional lamp. The rooms were clean and standard hotel decor and amenities. There is a fridge but no microwave which our last BWP had. We only stayed one night, don't think we could've lasted more than that.

We had to book a room here last minute and it was wonderful. Nice rooms and good breakfast. It's fairly close to most of the nearby attractions with just a short drive. The area around the hotel is nice as well with food and shopping nearby.

Hotel was very nice. Staff was great, Shuttle was a great ameniety. Breakfast was very good.. Some reviews had concerns about location - but other than passing some warehouses on way to hotel entrance, we saw nothing that concerned us. We did not walk anywhere just took the hotel shuttle.

Looks like a great deal...until you stay there. Ventilation system made my whole family sick and we are all recovering still. Walls are very thin and you can hear everything going on in the halls. Was there for work and expecteda quiet night sleep. My preganant wife not only got sick bit was sleep deprived too. Staff appear smiling. They bill you after check out for "excessive cleaning." When asked for proof the manager states "let me askhousekeeping. Ill call you back." She never doesand charge is only discovered on a credit card statement a month later. Let's see...room looks nice but you cannot sleep due to noise, no empathy for moldy mildew smell making my family sick (must be our fault according to manager), no empathy for pregnant women, not to mention if you shower long enough you get hit with a burst of ice cold freezing water, or even hot scaulding water. This place is a glorified dump that sucks you in like a black hole and you wake up the next morning thinking what just happened to me? I have stayed at Best Western hotels everywhere all with at least average experiences with most properties far exceeding my expectations. This one is run wrong! And I should know spending a total of 210 nights in hotels for work purposes last year and this is the only hotel that ever makes my list for"think twice ahout staying here again." At least most hotels thst are awful don't hide it. This is the only one that does and I may never choose to stay at a Best Western hotel ever again because of it! Not caring about pregnant women is the lowest of the low in my book!

This mid-range hotel (for Monterey) was the spot I selected to stay for my weekend in town after much deliberation between a number of spots. $200/night for a Best Western was a bit steep but it seemed in line with the overall higher prices in the area. The check-in process was quick and easy and the staff very helpful and friendly. The room I got was pretty spacious (possibly too much empty space?) but the room was spotless, clean, and comfortable. The bed was great and the bathroom shower had everything you need. The hotel had ample parking underground which was helpful and its location is a bit outside of downtown but only a 5 minute walk to the heart. My biggest complaint about the hotel was the noise - the walls and ceiling/floors seemed to be made of cardboard as I heard every noise. I had room 214 and I suggest asking for a change if you can as the room borders the lobby so I could hear the noise of all the people walking and talking there. You could also here every sound in the hallways and in the people on the floor above running around. The balcony was also right in the front of the building by the entrance so I heard everyone standing and hanging out there. Additionally, the mini-fridge didn't work so I wasn't able to keep my drinks cold. Those things were expected from a BW but a bit disappointing considering the price of this one.

This Best Western Plus Hotel will not disappoint when you awake from your comfortable slumber and have a delicious mouth watering waffle from their breakfast dining area. Furthermore, the staff was superb in response to any accomedations needed leading me to highly recommend this place at an affordable price.

I frequently stay in Best Western hotels because of their rewards program. I always look for affordable quality. This Best Western Plus hotel is beautiful and very conveniently located. It is very close to many attractions, restaurants, and malls. The staff is friendly, common areas as well as room are clean and cozy. For breakfast, I would have preferred more hot protein choices, but those available (plain scramble eggs and sausage) were acceptable and taste good. Excellent hotel choice.

Bed was adequate, room was clean, breakfast standard fare, friendly staff. Complaints- no microwave in our room and the breakfast area was a bit crowded but I would stay again. Those are minor inconveniences. Overall satisfactory experience.

After a not so pleasant stay at a Best Western in Santa Barbara this was quite the opposite. The room was spacious and since we were in the back extremely quite which along with nice beds made for a sound sleep. The location is by the "city center" near all historical buildings and the harbor just a 15 minute pleasant walk. The free, ample, underground parking with elevator access is a bonus in any city and this was very clean. The hotel personnel was very pleasant and provided maps of the city and the area. Breakfast was a well appointed buffet included in our rate. This is definitively a place to recommend.

At check-in I had trouble because hotels.com had not forwarded my reservations for 2 rooms to the hotel. I was asked to pay for the rooms again, which I did. I wrote a review the hotel and mentioned the mix-up. The manager responded, apologized for the error, which was actually hotel.com's error, and promptly refunded my 2nd room. (Hotels.com never refunded me, by the way!)

Great Best Western Plus -- our room was HUGE, bed comfortable, bath nice. Great continental brealfast (including scrambled eggs and sausages!). Our 3rd time here. Personnel are nice -- left some items in the room; after a conversation with front with front desk items were sent via UPS -- I was extremely happy to receive!!

This is a great Best Western. Wonderful checkin experience. The rooms are very spacious. We were upgraded to a fireplace and view room. It was very reasonably priced. So much nicer than the Best Western we stayed at in Ventura and we paid so much more in Ventura. It is a bit of a walk to Fishermans Wharf ( we are seniors). I would highly recommend this hotel.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Location is very good. Lots of restaurants within walking distance. Need a car for some of the other sites. All in all, our stay there was great and would recommend to others.

I got an incredibly low rate, so I was a bit worried about the quality and cleanliness of the hotel. Upon my arrival I was greeted by friendly staff and was glad to see my spacious and immaculately clean room. I will definitely come back.

We were encouraged to southern cal and decided to stay here. BW usually does not disappoint. We got a room at a reasonable price. The service was friendly and helpful and efficient. The room was very large and reasonably quiet, after the evening traffic calmed. The bathroom was clean and well stocked and bedding clean and comfortable. When we did our usual wipe down the wipes on the counters and nightstand came up dirty.. so a need for some better services. Good secure underground parking and the hotel offers the usual hot and cold breakfast from 7-10 am.

Guest rooms were spacious and tastefully appointed and included a coffeemaker and refrigerator AND a window that opens for fresh air. Items on the hot breakfast buffet were very well prepared, ie. tasty scrambled eggs and sausages perfectly cooked. A USA Today newspaper was available every AM plus fresh coffee and tea fixings (Keurig) in the lobby. Hotel staff was very friendly and accommodating. Rooms were very quiet and no bother from traffic noises.

Our room was comfortable and spacious, with a little 'fridge and coffee maker (no microwave). We could hear footsteps from the room above, but otherwise it was quiet. Next time we'll ask for a room in back - we had a bit of traffic noise in our room, which overlooked Abrego Street. Great service from the front desk. The covered parking was a nice touch.

We stayed here for a quick visit, my son had to visit the mission in Carmel for his School project. I chose this location because it was located close to everything and the price was much less than a hotel in Carmel. Having young kids this hotel is close to the Dennis the menace park, and cannery row. There are many good options in the immediate area for food, and activities. The hotel is clean and they offered cookies at check in, along with tea and coffee. The breakfast had a great selection. Eggs, sausage, waffles, yogurt, donuts, bread for toast, cereal, oatmeal, fruit and juices. There was plenty of seating in the dining area. The hotel staff was friendly and I would stay at this location again when visiting Carmel/Monterey area. If you are a light sleeper, I would suggest asking for a room away from the ice machine. The WiFi worked well, no issues!

Welcoming exterior, and nice, comfortable, quiet and spacious rooms with good amenities. In December, it was nicely decorated for Christmas and the heat worked well. Staff is very nice - lots of smiling. Internet speed is good and consistent. Breakfast had a good variety with hot items - waffles, scrambled eggs and sausage. The only issue is the breakfast room is very small, so it gets crowded. About a half mile walk to the wharf. Almost everything is a couple of minutes by car.

The Best Western Plus Monterey Inn is in a great location, we were able to easily walk downtown, to the Warf, and to Cannery Row from this hotel. All of the staff went above and beyond to help us and make us feel welcomed.

We've stayed in different hotels when we go to Monterey for golf tournaments or family trips but this is one of the BW hotels we've stayed, convenient location, very clean, good breakfast, excellent value.

Great location and great customer service at this Best Western. The property is nicely updated, very clean and a great value. Free parking and free breakfast. The breakfast is what you might expect at a BW - nothing fancy, but a nice bonus. The coffee was actually decent! The entire property was VERY clean, the bed was quite comfortable, and the staff was amazing. If you are looking for an affordable hotel in a good location, this is a solid choice. Walk to restaurants, the wharf, and Del Monte Shopping Center.

The exterior of this place is nice, the room we had was spacious and clean. BUT, the bed was horrible, we might as well have put our blankets on the floor! I had also requested a room in a quiet zone. What we got was right next to the elevator! Not only was the mechanism itself loud all night, we could constantly hear peoples conversations and kids running, yelling as if they were in our room. I did not call the desk as we had turned in earlier than most and by the time the noise started we had already gone to bed ( floor). The site says " walking distance" to the wharf and Cannery Row. Only true if you are young and fit with no children in tow. The free breakfast is next to impossible to get, a very small room that is way too packed. We didn't even bother to fight it..We just know not to go back here in the future.

Great little place to stay in central Monterey. Walking distance to downtown; with shops good restaurants and sites to see. Nicer than standard Best Western with all the amenities that you would need. Clean, nicely furnished and great staff that takes care of you. Rates though vary depending upon season, so just be aware; not bad, just how it is. But very reasonable and good dollar value! Our friends and us like this place to stay when we visit the area.

A clean, well-stocked room (the "oversize" Kings with fireplace, and the "oversize" 2 Queens with cross-ventilation and balcony are especially nice) in a great location for a decent price. Very friendly and helpful staff, easy covered parking, a clean hot tub (pool was under renovation)...we had a great stay and would return. Yes, the breakfast room is small, but there's a Denny's one block away and a French bakery across the street. Nice people nice place, nice price.

The location is very good if you like to walk downtown. We had the deluxe king room which had a nice living room and fireplace and king bed, with ocean view- only 129 and 139 per night. Definitely recommend!

We needed to get out of the valley and into some sunshine.Our 60 year wedding anniversary said go for a visit to our first place that we lived in 1957..We did not expect luxury,just a nice clean place in walking range of restaurants and the wharf. We always look for Best Western Plus for a nice stay. Our experience came up a little short. Breakfast was a few minutes late opening, the coffee in the lobby was just warm, you know---

We stayed here the last 2 times we have been in Monterey. Overall the rooms are nice.The only thing we find lacking is the size of the television in the room and quality in picture. Bring your laptop or iPad. The staff here is VERY nice and accommodating. Both times we have been here it has been in December and my son really likes the christmas decoration in the lobby. The breakfast is made up of sausage, scrambled eggs, waffles, assorted muffins and doughnuts, cereal, coffee, oj and apple juice. The staff keeps everything extremely clean and stocked. They even have a variety of hot cocoa and coffee to go at the lobby which we really appreciate.

This is a very nice Hotel. And has recently been updated with a fresh appearance. Accommodations were very comfortable. The look and feel is very modern. This location is central and conveniently located to shopping, attractions, and the beach. Easy drive to many landmarks and points of interest.

The only major thing the bed was way to firm for us. The pillows were too soft. Didn't sleep very well. The rest of the hotel was tidy and clean. Staff was friendly and accomidating. Breakfast great!!

This stay was a bit of an experiment on our part. Our last visit to Monterey, a favorite of ours, was marred by a less than satisfactory experience at a competitive hotel brand. This caused us to look around for a better experience. Check in and out was flawless by the same two people. Room was comfortable and quiet with a distant view of Monterey Bay and the piers jutting out into the bay. Have to say the description stating that the piers/restaurants were a short walk was not very accurate for my 80 year old legs! The hotel was very clean and presented itself well. Will say that some of the decor was a bit dated in my opinion. We felt the breakfast room was very small with no way to distance ourselves from some loudmouths that dominated the little room. Some people NEVER learn to shut up! There is a strong probability that we will return in the future.

This is a great place to stay. The staff are helpful. It is close to shopping and attractions in Monterey. It is quiet. The breakfast is wonderful. I always stay here when I travel to Monterey. The rooms are nicely decorated.

Staff was very kind and gracious. Rooms and facilities were very clean. We usually stay at the hotel next door. This hotel offers free breakfast also free coffee/tea throughout the day. The breakfast is satisfying but could use some fresher pastries and maybe out door seating . We would maybe stay again if can get get a higher floor. Unfortunately the room above us sounded like they were rearranging the furniture at 7am. Really upsetting ! Great location . Lots of parking.

My son and I stayed in October for two nights, while enjoying the Monterey Bay Aquarium, Cannery Row, Fisherman's Wharf and 17 Mile Drive. Reasonably priced, quiet, and included parking and a full good breakfast. I found the room got a little warmer than I like at night (I am from Northern Ontario,Canada!) and couldn't figure out the thermostat... but did not spend time trying or ask anyone, and simply opened the balcony doors for a bit. I had read reviews that this hotel was not air conditioned, which would be a downside for me during a hot summer season. Staff were pleasant, welcoming, and helpful, from front desk to cleaning staff to breakfast room. We really liked that the hotel was within easy walking distance of restaurants, a variety of stores, and Fisherman's Wharf.

The hotelis modern but with comfortable rooms even though walls are very thin so nnoise could be a problem. The Frosn Desk staff were very good - friendly and always willing to help ot chat whenever we wandered through. Breakfast was ordinary but tasty enough not a good selection of herbal teas though. A good location for gettinbg downtown etc as all within walking distance. The underground parking is a real asset!

Very comfortable room with frig. Good internet, hot breakfast. Great location within walking distance to wharf, historic museum, Walking paths, and great restaurants. Aquarium and cannery row also near by. Hotel is quiet, very clean.

My wife and I recently spent 3 nights here. The location was good - less than 20 minutes walk to Fisherman's wharf for us oldies, yet easy to drive to and from. It has the benefit of a free underground car park with lifts to all the hotel floors which is very useful for such a central hotel. Staff were pleasant for the most part and the receptionist who checked us in and helped us in respect of car parking in the city was extremely pleasant and helpful (unfortunately I did not get her name.) The room was a good size and nicely furnished and well-equipped (although no room safe) and the bed was very comfortable. The room was spotlessly clean (always our top priority). For the most part it was very quiet and we had no complaints. Our only criticism relates to breakfast where the room just isn't big enough at popular times, and the dishes were not replenished quickly enough. On our first morning we were a little later than intended and missed out on some items and were unable to eat in the breakfast room. As a result we ate earlier than we would have wished on the remaining 2 mornings in order to ensure an adequate meal in comparative comfort in the breakfast room. Overall though an enjoyable stay in a good hotel and fair value for such a hotel in this location.

This hotel was in a great central location, it was very clean with great beds and a helpful staff. Parking was free along with a decent breakfast. I would have rated this place a 5 but it didn't have A/C. The excuse is they don't need A/C because of Monterey's cool weather and admittedly very few hotels in town had A/C. However, hotel rooms don't have cross ventilation so it takes most of the night to cool the room down from 75 to 80 degrees with the sliding door wide open which also means you hear traffic noise and trash trucks in the middle of the night. Also A/C would have provide white noise to cover up the noise coming through the thin walls and the hallway.

Spent two nights at this hotel. The location is perfect for just about anything you would want to do in downtown Monterey. Parking under the hotel is also very convenient. Our room was nice and large with a balcony and fireplace. The staff was very friendly. I would stay here again.

We decided to stay in Monterey and checked out several places before deciding on this hotel.Glad we did. Good value and friendly staff.Breakfast was limited but good.About a 10 minute walk to the pier but was well lit and in a good area.Very quiet hotel. We had a huge corner room. We will definately consider this hotel when back in the Monterey area.

We only stayed here one night on a road trip along the coast. The lobby was very nice but seemed a little overdone - while the fountain is cool, the money that went into that should be placed in a bigger breakfast area and soundproofing the rooms. Seems silly to waste the money on a lobby fountain. The room was very clean and nice, no issues at all with that, but we were located on the first floor and the soundproofing in this hotel is atrocious! You hear everything!!! It's like a herd of elephants were staying above us and it sounded like Party Central out in the hall. It's very tough to get a good night sleep here because of inconsiderate guests and very poor sound proofing. We did have to call the front desk because of the "herd of elephants" above is and these guests above us seemed to knock it off once the front desk was called. But still, this place is in dire need of soundproofing! This hotel is in downtown Monterey, I guess, but you really wouldn't want to walk anywhere. It's just kind of far, and easier to drive. The hotel doesn't have a fitness center (boo!!), no laundry facilities and the pool and hot tub are outdoors and you must stroll through the front lobby in order to access this. My sister and I thought that was odd and kind of creepy - I don't want to walk through the lobby in my swimsuit. There should be another entrance for the pool. Breakfast wasn't very good. It's worse than standard hotel breakfasts (I'm not expecting a 5 star meal here) but compared to other BW properties, this wasn't good. VERY CROWDED, TINY room, and the food was extremely poor quality, except the make-your-own waffles (because, obviously, you make them fresh). Watery eggs, cold sausages, bad fruit and watery OJ. The coffee was okay. I probably wouldn't stay here again, only because of the poor soundproofing.

Nice , clean, large room with one sliding door for ventilation. The light bulbs were low level and not good for reading or putting on makeup. There was no AC (it is usually cool in Monterey) but you could adjust the heat level. The bed was OK but stiff, sheets were OK but cheap. The towels were excellent, big soft and fluffy. The shower had a crummy shower head that didn't have good pressure ( not enough water flow ). No microwave in the room. I liked the new furniture, it looked good and I enjoyed the balcony for some outdoor experience. Overall, typical BW experience, good for the money. Location is great!

The hotel is positioned perfectly - few blocks and short walk to the Pier. It is very clean and the stuff is just wonderful. Rooms are spacious and we liked covered garage. We used it for our weekend stay in Monterey. It is a great option for the budget hotel.

We booked this hotel at the last minute due to the original hotel not being what was shown online. We had a great stay here, clean & comfortable room with friendly staff throughout our stay. The breakfast offered was simple but tasty. Hotel lobby was welcoming and pleasant. Great location and place to stay for a couple or family. We will definitely stay here again!

my husband and I rented a house in the canyon outside of Big Sur. We needed a place to stay for 1 night. We booked here because of the price and location until we check in at the house we are renting for a week. Wow! The room, the lobby, the grounds the hotel itself is immaculate. The staff welcoming and super friendly. Close to the wharf, Cannery Row, Lovers Point, Carmel Everything!! I would be fine spending my whole week here. The breakfast was hot and fresh just enough to get your day going. And if that's not enough for you go to the Denny's around the corner. Super nice, super clean, super friendly staff, super rate, super spacious room and comfortable bed. Super stay! immacu

we stayed for 2 nights and everything was great. Very close to the warf and the beach. Breakfast is free and there is not a huge selection but everything was good and for it being free it was great! much better than other hotels I have been to.

booked 2 rooms for a wedding. 1 of the rooms I booked was a handicap King. I called in late August/early September to change the King to 2 queens instead, since my husband passed away on August 23 & we didn't need the handicap King, but need another 2 queens. I was quoted a much higher price than the other queen I had booked, so I just kept the handicap King, which kept someone else that needed a handicap King from getting one. We did enjoy our stay very much even though we were only there to sleep

Our trip was to go to Napa, but the fires cancelled everything, looked for a hotel in Monterey and found this hotel on the internet. We were able to walk to everywhere we wanted to go due to it's location. Great place

not pleased with service. Staff rude to my family who traveled from Seattle Washington to celebrate their 30th Wedding anniversary. They requested a change of room and their request was not honored. They were told that they had other rooms but they were reserved . The room was the same as theirs just on the other side of the hotel. My family members reserved there room back in July 2017??? and stayed for 4 days.

Fine stay. Noisy as you hear everything in the corridor. Clean, comfortable. Breakfast ok but very small dining area. Not really walkable to any restaurants unfortunately but otherwise a lovely stay. Would come back.

Pros - clean, very good continental breakfast, great staff, and good location to downtown within walking distance. Cons - no step-in shower/tub for handicap or wheelchair accessible, and very tight parking within 2 levels.

This hotel is in a perfect location, near attractions, Whole Foods and Denny's if you really need to get your grub on late at night. The staff is very friendly, unlike The Hyatt, where I was always made to feel I was bothering them. They even provide batter to make your own waffles :) Only thing missing is a restaurant and room service.

Great hotel in a great location. Staff at check in were very friendly and helpful, giving us excellent directions and dining tips. The room was very comfortable and reasonably priced. Breakfast had a lot to choose from. We would stay here again!

Stayed here for 3 nights whilst visiting Monterey. Pleasant hotel with all services you would require. Short walk to the Wharf and town centre. Good location if you want to drive to Pebble Beach golf course. I would also recommend Princess tours for all Whale watching.

We have stay the Best Western Monterey Inn twice before and this time was the best. The rooms are some of the best that we have had on out vacation this year. The staff are all very pleasant and helpful always willing to share their knowledge and experience. The breakfast is always good and well prepared by the staff

The room was great with a large balcony. Staff was wonderful and very accommodating. The only issues were: no air conditioning (had to leave the sliders open at night, and at times it was noisy outside), poor lighting in the seating area, and only cable TV to watch (couldn't watch new movies). The area was great and so was the dinning n cannery row. Would definitely visit again.

We stayed two nights here. We used it as a base to explore Monterey. It was close to the trolley, which took us to the piers and Cannery Row. The Hotel was clean; our room was huge; the Staff was most helpful and very efficient. A good quality, 'basic' Breakfast was on hand to give us a great start to the Day. I would certainly recommend this hotel for an overnight on the way down the coast; great for re-charging the batteries.

Our stay here was OK I guess but there were a few things we were unaware of before we arrived. No air conditioning being the main one. Had we have known that we may have stayed elsewhere. The room had a funky smell and opening the sliding door helped although that then created the issue of noise. Beds were extremely uncomfortable and we had what sounded like a heard of elephants in the room above us. Kudos to the front desk though, when we asked them to check, the noise lessened significantly. Breakfast was adequate and location wise this hotel was good. Staff were lovely.

Booked this property months ago due to the price and location in pricey Monterey. Even though it was after Labor Day, prices are still a bit high for the location. I asked for a room on the top floor, was given one on the second floor. And unfortunately there was guests in the room above us and they were very noisy, walked around most of the night. Our room was very odd. It was very large, with a king sized bed on one side of the room and then two straight back chairs on the other with a small table. I think they could make better use of the space, perhaps a comfortable chair and ottoman or maybe a love seat. Perhaps this room used to accommodate two double beds. Anyway, there is a shower in the bathroom only, but it was small and there was no place to put your shampoo, conditioner, etc. Odd! And as previously reported, they have no A/C. You can open the sliding glass door, however, there is a lot of road noise if you are trying to sleep. The ceiling fan works well and there is a refrigerator, but no microwave. They are apparently an energy efficient hotel, but the lighting in the room is not the best for reading. WiFi was ok, not the best connection. Parking underneath was plentiful, but consider this was not peak season. Location is ok, you can certainly walk to the downtown area if you are in shape for walking.

This was our first stay after leaving San Francisco. The reception wasn't the most friendliest around! So when you get over the initial old spice smell in the room it's not too bad. No air con but comfortable enough. You get breakfast included but a bit of advice? Get down there early as there are only about 25 seats! So it does get busy. That said the food is really nice, sausages, scrambled eggs, cook your own waffles(loved that) toast and cereal all available.

This property has no air conditioning and we spent two sweltering nights here over Labor Day weekend. There is a ceiling fan over the bed and a sliding glass door that opens, but there is no other ventilation in the room. Other than that the hotel is bcomfortable and clean and I would stay here again in cooler weather.

This is a nice, clean hotel. IMPORTANT: most hotels in Monterey DO NOT have air conditioning. This one doesn't either. The only downfall of this hotel. They offer a hot breakfast which was good. I will definitely stall here, just as long as the temp outside is 75 and below.

Good location. We walked to center of town and fisherman's pier. Many restaurants within walking distance. Need to drive to Cannery row or take local complimentary trolley car shuttle as was too far to walk. Rooms were large ,clean, comfortable.

I love this hotel! Everytime I visit Monterey I stay at this hotel - good price and value. Clean, comfortable beds, friendly staff, great location and fast internet. I have never had a single issue with this hotel which is why I am leaving this review. I travel often and stay in countless hotels, this one is reliably great! Thanks Kim and Best Western staff :)

Room was great, clean, comfortable, cozy. There was no A/C, but it wasn't need. Ceiling fan worked just fine! Food was great, service was Amazing! It is what you hope for when you stay away from home. They even put their personal touches and went above and beyond! Well worth every cent we paid!

I have nothing but positive things to say about our stay. The hotel was beautiful and spotless. The front desk and housekeeping staff were friendly and pleasant. The breakfast was varied enough to meet most people's needs (cereal, waffles, eggs, sausage, fruit, yogurt, etc.). Staff was continuously maintaining it. No parking problems as there is nice underground parking.I would definitely recommend it.

A very good hotel not the most modern hotel but the location was brilliant great car parking good, breakfast lovely big room which was great for family. Very clean my husband loved the power shower. Would definitley recommend

So from Las Vegas, to L.A. to Monterey..... Well late check in as we drove from L.A. and road works etc. But got in eventually tired and just wanting to go to bed.and toilet break...to be advised we would have see about another hotel and no toilet available as they had no water and it'd be down 3 to 4 hrs.... they eventually let my other half use the loo. They did have water but it was not for human consumption... So no shower or toilet facilities.. bottled water provided. Not good so far and we've been here an hr. I will be emailing customer services to think people pay $159 per night...

Went for a Mother & Daughter stay B4 college. Clean, safe, enjoyable stay. Hot breakfast helped for a day of touring Monterey. The swimming pool and hot tub hit the spot in the afternoons. Quality pool towels. Easy parking. Two level parking garage. Location-very close to Dennis the Menace park. Close to trail to walk, jog, bike along the coast and to Fishermans Wharf, Cannery Row.

Super clean hotel with decent continental breakfast daily. Maintenance people and housekeeping friendly entire stay. The front desk people are rather unfriendly and would just stare at me and my family if we got complimentary coffee/tea. Never welcomed us into hotel every time we would leave to do something and come back would just stare and make you feel uncomfortable. No workout facility.

Stayed here for 2 nights over a beautiful weekend in July with my 12 year old daughter. We paid $300 a night for room that was worth $150 a night, tops. The room was clean, spacious, and provided the basics. The pool closed at 9pm on Friday night, which was a huge disappointment because we had ordered pizzas to eat at the pool with friends. The pizzas arrived late. Needless to say, we were kicked out of the pool area and had to reconvene in the lobby, where we were informed by the front desk that we were being too loud (which was probably true). Still, the whole situation was poorly handled by the front desk. The breakfast is low quality, but fee, so not worth complaining about. One positive is that the hotel is within walking distance to shopping, restaurants and coffee, which was a plus. This is a Best Western, and delivers what you would expect, and likely better than many of the other options in the immediate area. That being said, I wouldn't choose to stay here again, especially for $300 a night.

We live in the Sacramento Valley and it was 106 the day we left to go to Monterey I wanted an inexpensive hotel and I always stay at best Western if I have a chance. They're like fast food you know you're guaranteed A great stay!

We stopped at Monterey for whale watching (amazing) and the Aquarium (the best part was the Jellyfish) - The Hotel is really satisfying. About 1 mile from the Fisherman's wharf where the Whale watching starts, from there we walked through the Canary row to the Aquarium and back using the free Trolly - so location is good and quiet! Room and breakfast were very satisfying. Only the price was too high and (small thing was that there is no microwave in the room so we had to use the dining room one)

The hotel is very clean and in a good location. Our room faced the busy street which was an issue when it was time to sleep. Since there is no A/C or central fan ventilation system you have to leave the patio door open to get outside fresh air. The street was very noisy. If I were to stay again I would request a room that didn't face the street. The free breakfast was very good and adequately stocked. The staff is very nice! This is one of the better Best Westerns I've stayed in.

Super disappointed in this hotel. Pool closed at 9....very early. Breakfast was very very crowded with terrible coffee. Rooms were dated and not very clean, same for lobby and breakfast room. Front desk staff at check in was not very friendly and acted like we were an imposition being there. I would spend more money per night for a better experience next time!

This property is in a good location to see the sights of Monterey. The rooms are large and comfortable. The staff is friendly and efficient. We wondered if a Best Western was worth the money $200 US per night but were please with this. It had a good breakfast included as was indoor parking. The WiFi was free and reasonably good. It probably is less expensive on other days as we were there on the July 4th weekend.

BW Monterey Inn was a great hotel with our room facing the trees and no buildings. A stepout small portico was a great feature for fresh air and a desk for easy internet connection was welcome. Parking was easy with elevator connection to lower levels.

Stayed at this hotel for four days while running the Big Sur marathon. It's a no-frills hotel but is being kept in good condition and without hassle. The free breakfast is your typical fare which was fine for me. Hotel is located close enough to walk to all the downtown sites. Nice, safe choice close to the airport!

Clean rooms, spotless bathrooms with great water pressure, hallways and rooms smell fresh, and it's the perfect location in town! The staff really takes care of their visitors and the property!! It shows when you have a happy staff who love their jobs...we had an excellent stay because the whole place felt welcoming! Thank you, because of you, we will be back again!!!

We stayed here for one night of a road trip. A very decent mid range hotel. Breakfast was good and the rooms were clean and very spacious. The pool and Jacuzzi were nice also. We would stay here again.

nice hotel quiet and discreet with professional kind staff .a 10 min walk to beach and pier with shops along the way . room was next to reception and was a tad noisy in morning as folk going for free breakfast .

visited the hotel 2 weeks ago for 6 nights for business. checking in was very easy and parking as well with a lot of parking space. I had a parcel send over there and it wasn't to big so they didn't have any problem with that even when it came 2 days before my arrival. The room is very nice i had a twin king bedroom and eventough there's no airconditioning the ceiling fan did it's job keeping it cool and was very silent. The shower i like a lot because it's not in a bathtub but if you like a bath there wasn't any in my room. (there is a small pool outside) breakfast was just ok not that many seats and the choice isn't that much but it will do. Location is nice it's a walking distance to the pier and also close to a shopping center with a lot of nice restaurants.

The Best Western Plus Monterey Inn, Monterey CA is a very good motel to stay at. The staff is very friendly and help out the best they can. I have recommended this motel to friends. I would recommend this motel to anyone

This hotel was nice and clean; cleanliness is something I always look for in hotels. The pool was nice too. Their breakfast was good and they have cookies out in the lobby anytime of day. It's a short drive to the wonderful restaurants and sights in the area. We had a chance to watch the sunset on the beach, go to Monterey Bay's fisherman's warf, and went whale watching. My favorite part of the hotel was the costumer service. The employees at this hotel were absolutely wonderful. They were kind, attentive, and went out of their way to help us. This is what costumer service should always be like. We would absolutely stay there again when visiting Monterey Bay, Carmel By The Sea, or even Big Sur.

As said our fourth visit over c20 years - so good don't even look at other accommodation. Never been let down. Staff very pleasant and informative. Well positioned, easy walk to water front. Good free parking, good sized rooms, 2 queen beds for us, clean and comfortable, more than adequate breakfast with items regularly replaced and room kept clean and tidy. Pool spotless a comfortably furnished. Took advice from reception to use Chris's Whale Watching tour which was great (they know where the regulars are) which lead to a super restaurant recommendation Cafe Fina on the Wharf.

We arrived too early to check in, but were able to park there & walk downtown for the July 4th parade. Loved the location~just a15 minute walk down the hill to the waterfront. This hotel was great~friendly staff, well-kept grounds, clean & comfortable rooms, and a nice breakfast each morning. No air conditioning, but with the ceiling fan & sliding door onto the balcony, stayed nice and cool. Would definitely stay again!

We were there as a family over the 4th of July weekend and very much enjoyed our stay. Price was a little high for BW+ rates that we have been used to but compared to the other options available, it was the best value. We enjoyed spacious and very clean rooms, free breakfast with fresh waffles, scrambled eggs, several other goodies. Sons and daughter enjoyed the heated pool. Covered parking was nice. Staff was very friendly and we had no trouble connecting the Internet. I highly recommend this hotel.

We had a nice stay. The bed was too hard for me but my wife liked it, so personal preference there. Overall liked it a lot. The location is good but not amazing. It is a bit of a treck to get to most the food locations and fishermans warf on foot. Only a 2 min drive though.

While not downtown, you are so close you appreciate the cost savings and appearance are great. No A/C, but we never missed it. You should consider this property if you will be in the area! We will return.

Breakfast is average, missing thinks like cream cheese. Quality of the food need to improve. Room has a good size with fireplace but furniture is old and shower low pressure. One good think is that elevator stop in garage level.

Excellent hotel for the price. We were able to leave our balcony door open during the night. The bed was very comfortable and the room was spacious and very clean. Parking was off street and near the elevators. All staff were wonderful.

This motel, has underground parking with elevator. It is centrally located. Possible to walk to restaurants and some historic sites. Trolley available in summer and its free. Ask desk for stops. Breakfast room is small so time when you go or eat in lobby.

This hotel has gone to great lengths to recently upgrade their rooms, and from a design and fittings perspective have done a fabulous job. They are really well and tastefully appointed. BUT .. the walls are paper thin. Upon arriving they put us initially in a room on the top floor, which we usually like, but its was near the lift and we could here every opening and shutting of the lift, not only on our floor, but also the next one down. So the very willingly moved us to another room on the middle floor, away from the lift. Everything was great, or so it seemed until we got in from dining out, and we could hear everything people were saying in the adjoining room. The walls are paper thin, and there was no going to sleep until those in the adjoining room went to sleep. Very disappointing given now nicely the rooms are decoated and laid out.

Great location within walking distance to everything. The staff was extremely helpful. The breakfast was not good at all. However the lady running the breakfast was very nice. Other than that we enjoyed our stay very much.

This hotel is very convenient to Fisherman's Wharf and Cannery Row. Friendly staff at check-in. Good sized rooms - felt like we had space to stretch out. Beds were very comfortable. Nice décor in hallways - picked up the Monterey theme.

This isn't the worst hotel that I've stayed at but I would not recommend that anyone stay here unless you have too. The room was not clean and it was very expensive. Part of that was my fault for not booking a hotel well in advance but, If you book in advance you can find better value at other hotels in the exact same area. Not to mention you will save money.

This property is very conveniently located to see the sites of Monterey and the Aquarium. We walked to the historic downtown, local businesses and a great park for kids (Dennis the Menace Park). It was a short drive to the Monterey Bay Aquarium and a short drive to Carmel. The staff was friendly, the room quiet, clean and spacious. (We had a room with 2 double beds.) Breakfast was a real convenience, although it was not the most complete breakfast buffet I've experienced; choices were rather limited. There is an outdoor pool and hot-tub. Monterey is cool, so I expect the hot tub is the busiest.

Driving up the North Pacific highway and heating in land to Yosemite np this was a stop of point for us and it was perfect after the long drive. We got in late and we're very glad to see it free parking what a bonus and breakfast it was nice just to get some toast the room was grand noting special ground floor big again it was a disabled friendly room cos of this and there was no acknowledgement on your wedding for these reason they get marked down

We loved this location! Free parking....awesome breakfast....meh on the coffee...little pool...but a great location! We got one of the 2 bedroom suites which was great for our family of 5. It had a nice patio with a full table and 4 chairs with extra room to hang out in. We loved it! We purchased our tickets to the aquarium there (2 day pass)...just need cash to purchase, no credit cards. We then walked a couple blocks down and got on the free trolley that took us into town. Kids loved it! It drops you off right next to the aquarium...there are several stops along the way if you want to get off. Breakfast was awesome! Kids really liked it! Word to the wise...tall people..do not sit on the bench seating along the wall. I can't tell you how many people hit their head on the lamps above the tables. 3-4 each day we were there, and that's just in the time frame we were there! Great assortment of goodies though! We will be back again for sure!

Monterey was where we went to for our honeymoon 22 years ago, and we keep coming back couple times a year, to renew our memory and our great time together. And Monterey Inn takes a good part in our plan every time: it provides us the pleasant ambience of feeling at home, with good friendship and great service from all staff, as well as all the amenities of the hotel..... Will continue coming back until we have to give up traveling.....

The Best Western in Monterey offered a large, clean room, free internet, hot breakfast and friendly staff! We stayed for 3 nights and were treated very well and provided a very clean, comfortable environment.

Stay was excellent but I believe in all hotel / motel rooms should have shower caps. They provide shampoo and conditioner but most do not always provide a shower cap. Location to attractions was very good. Great reviews for dinning.

Highly recommend this hotel. very clean and well kept. easy ample parking. great morning breakfast. very friendly staff throughout. good location, close to many restaurants and attractions. no ac in the rooms, only heater, but it wasn't needed.
