The hotel was filthy! Checkin was 3:00. I arrived at 2:00 and asked if we could checkin early because rehearsal dinner that night. Was advised to come back at 2:30. First room was filthy. Floor was sticky, desk was sticky, bathtub leaked and had a layer of greasy dirt and the tv didn't work. I was given another room and but by then were in a hurry to get to our event. When we got back saw the toilet had a thick layer of what looked like pee all over the back and the wallpaper was peeling off. This hotel should not be open. Looked for people to talk to but no one was around that evening or Monday when we were checking out.
Place is clean, the employees very nice and helpful. Breakfast good. Looking forward to the next stay. The only fallback was that the pool was closed. But it's that time of the year.love going to the pool. The staff makes it feel like home and it's my go to place.
Had to change room because our beds didn't have sheets on them, the telephone didn't work., was told I was being upgraded to being changed to the same exact room just a different floor. Bed was EXTREMELY HARD, trash under the pull out bed, telephone also didn't work in new room.. ironing board had stains and smelled really bad. Front desk continually gave the run around on speaking to a manager it's Monday morning and I've called twice have yet to speak with anyone!!!
Upon entering the first room it looked newly remodeled...until I went into the bathroom. The tub was absolutely disgusting. It looked filthy but it was the peeling "porcelain" that made it look that way. I may have been recoated but it didn't work. I showed a picture to the desk clerk. She immediately upgraded me to suite at no extra charge. The elevator door doesn't open or close smoothly and the elevator floor didn't look like it had been cleaned in awhile.
First my air conditioning didn't work in my room. The engineer told me they would move me. Then called me to come get a room key. After standing there listening to the employees talk about other employees for 4 minutes they lallygagging along and give me another room key. I go back to the hot room, grab my bags and my spouse get in the elevator to go to a room where the door is opened, the bed is dirty and there are cups all over. I go downstairs to tell the staff and they tell me that it is impossible. So I am called a liar. I aske for a refund so I can go elsewhere. By now I lost over an hour, I am starving and we are late for our event. I am told I am cancelled. I ask for proof and they can't give me anything just her name and a paper that says I had a reservation. Fast forward its been a week and I am still waiting for a refund. That hotel needs to be shut down. The customer service at the hotel is terrible and when I called about my refund the staff spoke with me like they were disgusted with me. I would NEVER EVER GO to a BEST WESTERN AGAIN and I would NEVER RECOMMEND IT!
I have stayed here several times. The location and cleanliness meet my needs very well. Harry is wonderful employee who goes above and beyond. I was quickly and efficiently checked in by Judy, it was nice to see her, she is never without a smile. Always makes me feel welcome. Pool looked inviting, but I forgot to bring my suit! The room had everything I needed, and was clean. I didn't go to the restaurant this time, but I have enjoyed it in the past. I would recommend this hotel to anyone who needs a quiet and reliable place to stay.
It's a really good place to stay if you're just visiting the area or having an competition (sports wise). The staff is really friendly
My room was disgusting, they didn let me switch but even the "clean" room did not feel as such. The rooms are falling apart. Thus hotel desperately need to be redone. The elevator was also sketchy as hell.
FIVE STAR- Safe clean hotel free hot fresh breakfast, Easy access to local SE PA beautiful sights and great local people.
Do NOT stay here! While the lady at the desk was nice, the rooms are beyond terrible. The 1st room I was in had a broken towel rack, the plumbing of the toilet was falling apart, the shower head was dirty, the bathtub had rust, the ceiling tiles were stained, while the shower was running a loud high pitch noise was heard even in the halls, one of the beds had broken springs. I was then moved to another room where the AC power connection was loose and open, the window frame was falling apart, the bathroom fan rattled constantly. See photos.
The hotel is dated and smells of old smoke. I got charged for staying 2 nights when we had checked out after 1 night. At first we were going to stay 2 nights and my friend was going to pay for the second night. They told us that we would have to check back in the next day for the room. I was charged for 2 nights even though we told them we were checking out after the first. Still waiting to be reimbursed for the night we didn't stay.
Rooms are a mess. Food is horrible. They cant hold a reservation even when the room was already paid for. Check in is a nightmare. After finally getting into a room, there was hair from previous guest all over the sink and shower. The hot water and cold water labels are incorrect. Overall miserable experience.
We were there this weekend for an event. It was not the best. The rooms needed maintenance. The bedframe made a loud noise went you just sat down or turned over. The plumbing in the shower was not great. We were two people and they gave us one bath towel each and one small towel. Not enough if you are washing your hair. On the bright side, the front desk person was warm and welcoming and the room was clean. I would say this hotel is adequate, but not great.
Do not stay at this hotel. It is horrible. The rooms smell, the carpets are torn, the bathrooms are moldy and the entire hotel needs to updated. The towels were so thin it was difficult to dry yourself. Very disappointed in Best Western!
I was very disappointed because they messed up my reservation that I made weeks in advance after speaking to someone a few days before arrival to clarify, reservations I was given a double room instead of the king suite. Staff was also disrespectful to my family members.
I have stayed at many Best Western over the years, (I earned the top tier of their rewards program), and sone franchises are better than others, however I am surprised that Best Western Inn at Fort Washington is allowed to remain under the B.W. corporate umbrella. When I called to make my reservation, the clerk seemed annoyed that I called, and was resistant when I tried to find out about amenities and proximity to local restaurants .. When I arrived, I was given a room where the floor was not swept or vacuumed, but there was BLACK MOLD in the bathroom. I bought the issue to the front desks attention and was told ," we are working on that" Evidently management has no qualms about putting paying customers in a moldy, dirty room because they are "...working on that..." The new room was o.k. During my five day stay, housekeeping ignored the hotels written policy. On the nightstand, there is a placard that clearly stated that if you want to save the planet, and not have your sheets changed, leave the placard on the bed, your sheets will not be cleaned, and you will help save the planet. The placard remained on the nightstand, was never placed in the bed, and my sheets were not changed until the night before checkout. Housekeeping is not overly concerned about replacing used towels, or replenishing the coffee packets for the in room coffee maker. One of the "perks" of my BW Rewards tier is that I am susposed to get a bottle of water with my room., yeah , it's not much of a "reward", but after being placed in a dirty moldy room, dragging my stuff from one floor to another, a bottle of water would have been nice. But they decided a complementary bottle of water just wasn't happening Unfortunately this Best Western franchise not only disrespected its own customers, it also disrespect its own brand.
The hotel on the outside looked very nice. Inside was a different story. The door to our room had a large gap around it. I sometimes travel by myself and i would not have felt secure. The safety lock looked weak and the door lock was not as secure as it could be. The whole room could use an update. The desk chair head rest was peeling and furniture was so 1990's. The staff was very nice.
This location is filthy and smells. It smells like mold and mildew. There was what appeared to be old semen on the headboard. The forth floor did not have air conditioning in the hallway making the odor worse. The room smelled and was dusty. The elevator should be taken out of operation since it seems dangerous and unstable. I would rather stay in my car or park bench than ever enter this facility again.
The toilet was stopped up And it wasn't by us The refrigerator was broken and the sink was leaking underneath and the hotel knew about this issue before they gave us the room yet did nothing about it I am seeking a full refund my other relatives has no air on the 4th floor. The pillows were stuffed pillow cases with fabric. It's a no smoking hotel and smelled of smoke
Nothing special just average. The room was good sized, clean. Low water pressure in shower just enough to do a quick rinse off. Breakfast station nothing to get excited about, eggs pretty goopy looking, we ate elsewhere. The area felt safe and it was quiet.
Do Not stay here . The pool was "out of service " despite the fact that we booked it for the pool . Breakfast was nasty . The eggs tasted like powdered freeze dried stuff , OJ tasted like powdered tang . The breakfast area was over crowded and we could not sit down ...no seats available . The room smelled musty and stain were on the sofa bed . We didn't have enough pillows and it was not a comfortable stay . In front of the hotel is a decorative train car marked " danger asbestos " that sums up this hotel
Clean room, microwave and refrigerator available. No carpet nice floors though. It was cheap to stay, 2 nights the price of 1. A quick getaway for you and your partner, oh free breakfast. Good parking
I made a reservation in an area too far from my friend family. When I got there I asked if possible to transfer to another location. The front desk call and they had plenty of rooms available. I was about to check in with my AAA discount at the new location with no problem.
Our stay at this hotel was wonderful! The fantastic staff were helpful and friendly. We felt like we made friends. The hotel room itself was clean and fresh for us. We felt safe and comfortable. We will be staying at this hotel again.
I was very disappointed of this Best Western. The room and the stairwell of this hotel, was not up to par. It supposed to be a smoke free hotel, but there was a cigarette burn mark on the bathtub, I will not stay at this location again.
Was there for my brother funeral. When booking it doesn't look nothing like the picture ie. false advertising The first room that was given to us- dirty sheets (hair all over). Dirty ring around the tub. And Mold around the tub. One night stand light didn't because it wasn't plug in properly. We was given a second room was given to us, better, but one night stand light didn't work. Had to go to Walmart to buy an extention cord for wife could plug in her cell phone. Worst hotel I ever been in.
The pictures”s online to what you get are misleading. The dirt and the corridors and elevator and the smell of class B drugs. Hotel very noisy with pipes banging and other toilets flushing. Bathrooms not tidy and a lot of hair in the plug hole.
The worse experience of my life. Stayed here 5 yrs ago,OK. Came back here for a family funeral with daughter/granddaughter. TV remote did not work, TV program was outdated, back of toilet was dirty, had to hold handle down to keep toilet from running, noisy heating system, vacuuming another unit starting at 8 in the morning lasting forever, ice machine on my floor stopped working, water for shower was lukewarm. It was just too many negative things. I started with the TV and that was not properly address and I just chalked the whole situation up to a “lesson learned” the stay was for only 2 nights and I was too far into grieving mode to complain after TV situation was not handled. Location off of PA Turnpike was excellent but there was a Hilton across the street. I paid $104 a nite (military). It was definitely not worth the money and definitely not “family friendly”
Mold bathroom, beds sagged in middle, smoke filled room, paid over $200, front desk had maintenance on speaker when I asked for something so I heard all they were saying. Giving best western a try but they continue to struggle
This hotel needs some maintenance, it looks tired. Even though it says 100% smoke free, the rooms, hallways, breakfast room and lobby have a stale smoke smell. Carpet in hallways is worn, dirty and does not fit. All rooms were more or less clean. We were upgraded to a mini suite on the third floor. However the lobby elevator was not working and had to take stairs. There is another elevator at the far end on each hallway that goes down to the on-site restaurant area. Our room was more or less clean. Could have been better. We had two tv's and they had different channels. The tv near the bed had a grainy picture. The other one was perfect. Bed was very firm and squeaky. I don't know why BW always uses small pillows even for a king bed. Ours had 4 small pillows. Bath towels clean but are well used, need new ones. The hotel is very close to the highways and was easy to reach. Large parking lot. Breakfast was adequate. Scrambled eggs, sausage or bacon, yogurt, bread (white only and some kind of muffin), cereal, coffee, apple and orange juice. I don't remember if there was any fresh fruit. Breakfast room was clean. Except the staff ate their breakfast in there while other guests were there. They were loud and noisy. We come to the Philadelphia area once or twice a year. However, we will not be staying here again.
This is not a good hotel. Not very clean. Furniture is old and needs refinished. Bathtub is old and faded. Elevator was broken during our whole stay. Hot breakfast is very limited. Bed makes lots of noise like it will break when you sit down. Will not stay there again.
The carpet in the hall is filthy and smelly. There is one sorry noisy elevator . The bed makes noise with every move and is very hard like you are sleeping on the floor . The ice machine runs water all the way down to the elevator. The breakfast is joke .
Old and badly in need of upgrade. Had to change rooms because of a leak in the sink. My sister was in a different and her shower didn't work. The plumbing, furniture, and everything else in the room is really old and needs to be replaced. The room does not smell fresh although the linen appeared to be clean and the bed was comfortable; pillows were too small. The carpet in the hallway is old and ratty. The best part was the breakfast bar.
We stayed in an accessible room on the third floor.. the afternoon before we were leaving, my sister notified the front desk that the elevator was not responding.. she informed them that I use a walker and cannot do stairs and needed to leave at 7 am the next morning.. they showed no concern for the seriousness of my situation and just said it would probably be fixed the next day. .. after many calls to local emergency services, the police department got word to the fire marshal and he called and said he would be there at 7 the next morning.. he called ems and they got me down the stairs.noted it was a fire safety and ADA violation.. . my sister called best western 800# and was told since she wasn't on-site and couldn't fix it?? Also told said she advised next time we were going to that property we should call in advance to verify that the elevator was working. The next morning my sister (70yrs old) requested assistance getting the luggage down stairs..after another guest pantomimed heavy, stairs, weak the clerk told them he couldn't help because the elevator was broken.. the other guest carried our luggage down.. I feel Given my situation I feel that one solution could have been to call emergency or after hours elevator repair service but apparently couldn't understand or acknowledge my predicament.
There was mold around the bathtub and inside the toilet. Visible dust all around the room. Was there for only 2 days for a wedding. All the events leading up to the wedding was at the hotel, so decided to tough it out. However, refused to use the tub. I had to clean out the toilet. No one was at the front desk for most of my stay.
We stayed one night at the Best Western Ft. Washington Inn. We were in room 321. The room had 2 queen beds, TV, A/C, microwave, safe, small fridge with an ice compartment, table and rolling chair, another table with 2 hard chairs, coffee maker, clock radio, and an iron and ironing board. There were 2 phones in the room. And there were lots of electrical outlets, but no built-in USB ports. The bathroom had a tub and shower. There was a free form pool outside, which we didn't use. There were 3 computer terminals in the lobby. The breakfast was good. The only problems we had were the very slow clerk checking us in at midnight. He spent over 10 minutes, mostly staring at the computer screen. And the room safe was already locked, so we reported in when we left. We had no problems with cleanliness or smoke smells, as others have reported. There is only one elevator, so that could be a problem at a busy check-out time, but wasn't for us.
The place was roach infested, rooms damp dirty and they stank, fitness center broken and dirty and damp and stank, the pool was stained and in need of repair front desk agent nasty rude unprofessional
we found a roach and a centipede in our room/bathroom. when we first got into the room, it smells damp, like a sweaty gym. the carpet/rug in the hallway, looks very old and dirty/moldy. Internet wifi was not working and when I complained about it, I was told that no one else complained about it so it must be working! I do not care if no one else complained. I am complaining and they should address it. there's not much people in their hotel anyway, so who would complain??? and their bed mattresses are hard as plywoods!
Needs updating and deep cleaning. Hotel says 100% non smoking, was put in a room that was definitely smoked in recently. Switched rooms with no problems, but the 2nd room still had a hint of smoke. Must have been on an old smoking floor. Then the water in the shower didn't work and wasn't the only guest room with water problems in the shower, finally got it going and the tub fills with water. Someone needs to clean the drains desperately. Went to dry my hair with the hairdryer, doesn't work. First smokey room didn't even have a hairdryer. The dresser drawer didn't stay closed and had to tape it shut. Beds were comfortable enough, breakfast looked okay, typical complimentary breakfast. Definitely wouldn't stay again, almost went to different hotel but had to be somewhere and didn't have time to deal with it. Hopefully this helps others, didn't expect this. Best Westerns are usually consistent, this one is not.
This was a disgusting dirty kip! and that is being generous!! The place STINKS of cigarette and weed smoke. The rooms were filthy, bathrooms were disgusting!! Judy at the front desk was lovely, so so helpful and professional and very sympathetic to everyones concerns. I witnessed a number of people check out within minutes of checking in and seeing the state of the place. The front door has shattered glass, homeless people loitoring the lobby of the hotel smoking. All over - a disaster of a place!!!
Rudely greeted at front desk. An argument happened 5 minutes before I got the hotel and the man at the front desk took it out on me. Disrespectful. I asked the lady there if she was the manager. She said no and did nothing as he told me “ you don't know what just happened!!” I said well sir I did not do it to you so do not take your frustrations out on me!!! I was going to leave but I booked a non refundable stay. Dirty toilet Holes in bathroom wall, peeling paint in bathroom and sleeping quarters TVs very cheap and bad quality, horrible channels, tub just collected water and took 15 minutes to drain after shower.. plumbing issues, barely any light in room, no fitted sheet on bed… never saw such a thing, dirty decorative pillow on bed.. had white stains, 4 mini pillows on bed… must be for kids that are renting room there .. ugh Had to ask for a trash can and towels bc there none in the room. Staff brought up to us. She liked drinks in hallways and lobby… dirty lobby at check in and very loud filled with kids and adults at almost a midnight check in… was weird. Right I'm smelled weird .. almost rotten. I will never return to this location. Paid d almost 200 for a cheap looking motel room. Should have been 79 bucks. What a rip off in fort Washington.
Had plumbing issue at home then rented a room that did not have a working shower. The 2nd room had a working shower & dirty walls. Will not stay here again. There are 2 other hotels very close by. I should have selected one of them.
The entire hotel spells like cigarettes and was possibly the worst stay I have ever had. I had to go to the grocery store to get cleaning supplies to clean the room. The bedding was deplorable. It was filthy and looked like it had never seen detergent. I ended up bringing travel blankets to put on the sheets after I sprayed the bed with more than a half a can of Lysol. Let's not even get into the outlet that the air/heat unit is plugged into. I don't know how it is even up to code. It looks like it is pulled out of the wall. Do yourself a favor and piece of mind by not staying here. Pay the extra $$ and stay at a nicer place.
The breakfast staff was friendly and the sheets were clean. that was the best part of the stay. None of the jetted tubs work in the hotel and upon our arrival to the hotel we found that out the hard way after paying for a jetted tub room. When they tried to switch us to a new room the jetted tub in that room was super tiny and all the knobs were missing and i had to stick my finger in a rusted hole to try to turn it on and cut my finger. the only accommodation they could offer was 30% off and the staff on duty promised they would refund whatever portion i wanted refunded and that it was notated on my account. upon check out nothing was noted on my account and that resulted in them not giving me what they had originally promised me for my inconvience. And the beds are old school spring mattresses stiff as a board
In all my years, this is hands down, the most disgusting hotel I've ever stayed at. The entire place smelled like cigarettes….I'm still trying to get the smell out of our belongings. In addition, there was major debris in the hallways and don't even get me started on the room itself. It looked like it hadn't been cleaned at all. There were hair balls on the floor, hair on the bedding, splatters on the walls that looked like they hadn't been clean since the building was constructed, and clusters of dirt across the floor. To top it off, when walking down the hallway, there was a house cleaner “cleaning” the room next to ours. She was mopping a floor that clearly hadn't been vacuumed first as there were literal chunks of items on the floor that she was mopping around. This was the absolute worst hotel I have ever seen. If my family and I weren't there for a wedding, we would've left instantly. In fact, we tried, but all surrounding hotels were sold out…Best Western guests probably checked out once they saw the conditions and went somewhere else to stay. I wish I was so lucky.
For a hotel located in a nice area of suburban Philadelphia, our stay was disappointing. Only plus was a decent post COVID breakfast. The place is less than clean. Our room was not carpeted. My wife thought the floor was sticky. The whole place needs fresh paint and rug cleaning or replacement. We were placed on the 4th floor where barking dogs woke us up at 6am..
I would really give this a one star review but Harry who took care of breakfast was wonderful, so they get 2. The rest of the place was pretty bad. We were a group staying there and everyone had issues with their rooms. (water not going down the drain properly, cold water...) There was even a flood on the floor that no one cleaned for hours. Also, floor smelled like a combination of smoking and cleaning agents that tried to cover up the smell. I asked for additional towels and the woman gave me a hard time about wanting 2 towels.
My husband and I stayed here for two nights. The first room we were qssigned (223) the air conditioner was very noisy. The bathroom had plumbing issues as both the tub and sink faucet were very slow to drain. They moved us across the hall and it was better. I went down to say we did not have any bottle water in our room. I travel often and there is always at least two bottles in the room at check in, even if they don't replenish it.. The next morning I wanted a glass of water at breakfast, I was told they do not have. You must purchase by the front desk, or take from the water cooler in the gym. The water in the cooler was not cold, it was warm. The only cream cheese available was two brands of low fat. No regular. In room had coffee packs which I did not try but should of had some tea bags also. It's the little things that make the difference
Room didn't look clean at all. Dust bunnies all over the floor. Bathroom has red soap marks all over the top of the top. Bath tub looked like no one ever tried to clean it. Ac and fridge leaked all night. Told the front desk and they insisted it wasn't our room leaking so we left.
Floors are dirty. Visible leakage from the roof to the room. Amenities very low quality. Coffee in the room horrible. There is no tea bags. 4 pillows on a bed, however only 1 is regular size, other 3 is 1'x 1', pillosa very uncomfortable to sleep. AC is very loud, when stops feels like someone playing a drum ( not nice in the middle of the nights).
Don't stay in this hotel. I was locked out of my room for over an hour after a party nearby. My wife and I had to sit on the hallway floor, me in my tuxedo and she in a silk dress while the worked on the problem. I requested a full refund but they only agreed to a $20 credit.
We were on our way to a Wedding and reserved our room for our stay. We were looking into places to stay and this hotel was not too far from our destination... The room was clean, we didn't have to ask for much.
Second time staying at this hotel. Off the beaten path, so not many guests and quiet and service staff is so accommodating! Pet friendly too. In the heart of some Industrial complexes and a lot of businesses so this is most likely a business traveler location, however for the price and location it's a great choice. Clean rooms, great breakfast options, attentive staff. Very pleased with our stay and great value for the money.
Last minute accommodation and couldn't be happier. The staff is amazing and the rooms are clean! The restaurant/bar next door has an amazing staff, great food and drinks. The breakfast the hotel serves is very good and was unexpected. Will definitely be back
If you plan on staying here, be aware that they don't allow guest to visit and that they will have to sit in the lobby otherwise you will be forced to pay for extra rooms. The older guy at the front desk is extremely unhelpful and rude. Also the rooms are mediocre with outdated TV's and the jacuzzi's didn't fully work & they could also do a better job with the cleanliness of the room. There was a dirty wash clothe logged in one of the holes in the jacuzzi either from the previous guest or placed there by the staff plus there was residue all in the jacuzzi as well. I don't think I'll ever book another night at best western. Terrible experience.
Overall, the experience at this hotel was poor. The room was incredibly unclean, with visible staining on the sheets and pillows that could have been spotted by anyone with eyes. There was hair in the towels provided, also incredibly hard to miss. The beds themselves were stiff and the pillows should have been replaced years ago. If you need a hotel in this area, just spend a little more and go somewhere that actually cares about your experience.
The staff was great. Very friendly and very accommodating. There's a great Indian restaurant attached to this hotel that serves very fresh and delicious Indian cuisine. The rooms were clean and the staff were good about cleaning it during the period of our stay.
My room smelled strongly of cigarette smoke so I asked to be moved, and the room I was moved to smelled just as bad. The hotel claims to have a no-smoking policy but the rooms reek of smoke. It was very unpleasant.
Dirty bathrooms, smell of cleaners and ammonia so strong in the room I almost gagged. Peeling paint on walls, dirty walls, broken tv remote and smell lasted two days of staying gagging me at each entry. Breakfast was good with pancakes and scrambled eggs.
The facility could use some remodeling. We had issues with a room phone not working, the TV not responding to the remote and the dog found something on the floor when we entered that we had to drag out of its mouth. Beds were fine and some nice staff. It is pet friendly and a good hot breakfast provided, so it could be a reasonable option if traveling with pets.
I woke up to my wife squishing a bug in a tissue that was leaking what looked like human blood. About 8 hours later my entire body started to itch. I removed my shirt and to my surprise I was covered in bite marks. Over the next couple of days they turned into blisters on my hands and oozing wounds on the rest of my body. I was put on steroids to help with the inflammation and strong antibiotics to prevent further infection.
I was disappointed with our 6 day stay, and because it was a 6 day stay the problems seemed magnified. It was good that we didn't spend too much time in the room because we were there to visit family. We never used the breakfast area. The ability to change the water flow from tub to shower was broken and we were unable to change the water flow from tub to shower. However, the water flowed out of both and we were able to take a shower. (The little lever that you pull up to change the water to the shower pulled out and I think was broken off). We did not report this - and should have. The internet was painfully slow and I ended up using my Verizon data instead and never bothered to use my computer. The mattresses - in my opinion - are way too hard. I didn't sleep well. (I'm older and it was hard on my back) The back of the TV remote which houses the batteries was broken off. It didn't hamper the use of the remote - just noting this issue. The room was clean and the staff was very pleasant. The room temperature was good.
The Best Western is a two-star hotel. So you're not going to get the Ritz-Carlton or Hyatt Regency amenities. However, for the price, this hotel is more than adequate for a short stay or a stay in the town where you're not going to spend a lot of time in the hotel. This hotel is old, but the owners have started some renovations. My room had vinyl wood laminate floors, that were clean. The bathroom was recently painted but the painters weren't very disciplined as they left paint spots around the areas that they painted. My room also had an outlet that was hanging from the wall in the far left corner by the window. The hotel did serve hot breakfast which had scrabled eggs, sausage, and pancakes. They had an assortment of continental breakfast items as well. Overall, my stay was fine. The front desk Associates were very kind and always try to meet your needs. If you are a person that is high maintenance and a complainer, this hotel is not for you. But, if you want to save some money as the hotels in the area are about $50 to $100 more per night, this hotel should be more than adequate regardless of the other ratings that given by other recent customers. I didn't see any evidence of rodents or bugs in the hotel. Just remember that this is a 2-star hotel.
The front Desk clerk was exceptional Syavux 004 .Made sure my rooms were book and straight no complaint exceptional staff all around and The cook that you so much for accomodating us had somefamily with me could eat pork and he assisted us. yes I will recommend anyone come stay here
Overall my stay was fine. It was very inexpensive and the bed was very comfortable. But the hotel really needs some updating and I felt like my room smelled of stale smoke. The stay included what they called a full breakfast but the lines were long and all the seats were taken so I ended up skipping the free breakfast. The receptionist was really friendly and efficient and I have no complaints about that.
Holes in the walls and the lighting fixture had toilet paper surrounding a gap. Hairs in the shower, on sink and in our pile of towels which were tiny (couldn't even wrap around myself - like oversized hand towels. Paid nearly $200 and horrified by the lack of attention given to the room
When I was in my room, I heard a couple was doing it. The furniture creaked, and I heard a woman moan. When I took a shower, I had to wait until water drained and I used water. Internet was disconnected over and over. But, the staff was kind and nice, though.
I booked 12 rooms for my grandmother's memorial service and that was the biggest mistake of my life. We were all blocked on the 3rd floor and EVERY room had major issues. There were holes in the bathroom walls, hair from every previous guest that stayed in those rooms, food left in the fridge, trash left in the trash cans, and if that wasn't bad enough, the place is not only infested with roaches, they're infested with mice as well. There was a mouse eating my son's food that he neglected to put in the fridge, my other son who was right next door experienced what could have been the same mouse running from room to room, but my uncle and I were at the opposite end of the hall and a mouse was in my bathroom and one is his trash can. Hell we all came in contact with the roaches. My family and I didn't have time to check out the next morning because again, we had a memorial service we were in town for and because the devil s a liar, we decided to attended the service and deal with the hotel issues later. I started calling the hotel first thing Monday morning and they let the phone ring and rind until it would go to the sales directors (Judy) voicemail, now mind you, Judy is the one who set up the block for me. I called for 2 days and when I called from a co-workers phone Judy answers, found out it was me and sent me to her voicemail and never returned my call until she found out I called the corporate office. Judy acted as if she felt so bad for my family, told me the hotel was aware of the rodents and they were dealing with Orkin to take care of the problem, Judy agreed to give my family and I our money back for one nights room and tax, but now Judy and the GM Ravi are telling me that's not going to happen... Ok, well let a judge tell me that because Judy should have never put that in writing. I'm so disappointed in the lack of professionalism at that hotel, and for the GM to tell me I must be making this up because all of us could not have a problem with our room. Sir your hotel is TRASH and there were families outside of my block with the same complaints at the desk telling your unprofessional front desk staff. My grandmother always said the proof is in the pudding. See yawl in court.
We have stayed at this pet friendly hotel for annual dog shows on several occasions. While the hotel is on the older side, the breakfast choices are generous, rooms are clean and the staff very helpful and friendly. There is also ample, safe grassy areas to exercise pets. To critique -- the guest laundry is in need of upgrade and the hall carpets a good shampoo.
This hotel was an absolute disappointment. I have not one good thing to say about our family's stay here. Check-in took forever because the guy at the front desk was taking phone calls before helping the guests lined up in front of him. The hotel smells horrible. Lots of dogs, so the lobby and elevators smell like dogs. Our room smelled like a strong cheese odor. The walls were water damaged and the walls were actually falling part. Mold all over the bathroom. Blood on bathroom wall and towels. Dirty linens - I can guarantee they were not washed. Broken light fixtures. Very noisy all night long. Beds are like sleeping on a pile of bricks. Bar/restaurant were closed when supposed to be open. And they will try to over charge you! If you call to make a reservation, which after this review I hope you would go elsewhere, check the online prices. This place is a rip off! Beware!
Called and asked for 2 rooms with double beds, said available. Got there and my aunt went in to pay for the 2 rooms and was told only 2 rooms available with single beds only. She declined so i went in and said I talked to you on the phone and you said 2 rooms with 2 beds were available. He said no I only have single beds. I went ahead and booked 2 rooms. As he was booking my disabled mother came in, he saw her and said I'm going to accommodate you. He then booked us 2 rooms with double beds each. We had 4 to our party and needed the 2 rooms with 4 beds total to begin with but when he told us there were only single beds available, my aunts left so only 2 of us needed accommodations. We ended up getting our rooms and BOTH rooms had 2 beds each!! I feel we were discriminated against and it wasn't until he saw my mother had a disability that he made things right, but at that point we only needed the 2 beds and could have only booked one room. He took advantage of my mother's disability and wasn't truthful from the beginning. BTW, we were in town for an 8am funeral and didnt get these rooms booked until 230am!!! We stayed for a total of 5 hours and were billed over $300 bucks for 2 rooms, with 4 beds, for 2 people!! Unreal!
Rooms, elevator, lobby etc all stink. Walls are extremely thin, There was a domestic dispute that went on for 2.5-3 hours well after most people would be going to sleep with no response from the staff that I could clearly hear from my room 3 or 4 rooms down. Room didn't have a microwave, mini fridge, coffee maker or anything else. Toilet was continuously running and fairly loud. I knew it was a "budget" hotel going in but it was far below the average for other hotels in it's price range
From the check in with TJ, to the check out by just dropping off the key, our stay was wonderful ! The location was perfect for us, the room was spacious and comfortable, and the area was safe and quiet.
The elevator and hallways smelled awful. The carpet in the hallways needs to be ripped up and thrown away. They had the nerve to have a floor fan blowing the stench in the hallway on our floor. One of our rooms had a bug in it and the a/c unit in the other was leaking water all over the floor near the window. The bathrooms needed to be cleaned alot better. The shower curtains were dirty and there were big cracks along the corners of the ceiling in the bathroom. Very outdated. At checkout the guy at the desk walked away as we returned our keys and waited for our receipt. We had to call him back to the window for our receipt. I will never stay here again or recommend this hotel.
My stay was extremely TERRIBLE. My first room smelled like someone just smoked in there. The second room was AWFUL. Floors dirty, tub dirty, sheets dirty. My two young children found pills in one of the drawers. Speaking of drawers; the one in our room fell out when one of my kids pulled it open. Just a TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE.
After only having limited service and takeout food for a few months during the peak of the pandemic, the hotel is mostly back to normal now, and the Indian food and service are as good as ever. Judy at the front desk is always attentive and helpful, and the beds are very comfortable. The restaurant has some of the best Tandoori chicken I've had. A few items need some maintenance, for instance, there was a constant dripping noise from the air conditioning unit and the Tv remote was difficult to point correctly to change channels
Let me first say we are budget friendly travelers, so not comparing this to big buck hotels. Sadly this hotel was one of our worst hotel experiences ever! Hotel in poor repair. 1st assigned room, no tv remote, no phone cord for the phone, and bathroom light not working, they changed rooms for us to a room that reeked of smoke, again changed our room with an upgrade for our trouble. Pistachio shell on bathroom floor, faucet squirted water all over bathroom floor when showering and alarm clock not working. I realize finding workers is a problem, but surely housekeeping should have noticed all of these things..
Clean, staff was friendly and helpful, breakfast was a nice hot meal. Judy and Erica made sure my group was checked in before we arrived. They went above and beyond with customer service. Had an issue with the toilet in 1 room but it was fixed right away.
Hookers everywhere and weed smoking in public in the rooms the whole hotel smelled like a weed factory. Staff was polite but aware of the situation! It's how they fill the hotel. Drug deal happened right in front of my kids
Switched rooms 2 times due to puddle in the room and then key cards not working. No refund or discounts offered. No manager available to talk to and even when I did call him, he never returned my phone call.
We were on a 5 day college tour with the student, her sister, my daughter and me (grandma). All nights in BW hotels. This probably was the worst BW I've ever stayed in. Dark gloomy lobby with old saggy furniture. Up to our floor with dirty stained carpet in the hall and a strong smell of cigarette smoke in the air (this is a no smoking property). Small room for two queen beds with old, worn out furniture, dust bunnies and crumbs on the floor. Bathroom came complete with towels for 2 people and mold in the shower. Plus a 20 year old hair dryer. Rickety fire escape style stairs were the only entrance to the pool area. Water was crystal clear, however, this made it easier to see the paint chips on the bottom of the pool along with room door signs. Photos on the BW web site show bright cheery lobby and guest rooms, don't believe it. Also show restaurant and a bar. This is not part of the hotel but next door. Front desk and breakfast room attendant were very nice and helpful but nothing can make up for the dismal accomodations.
This property isn't well maintained nor is it clean. The carpets and floors were dirty (including my bathroom). There was a musty smell in the hallways and rooms. I over heard a guest complain that there were dirty socks in their room. No special area for dogs but the pet fee was $15.
ROACHES. I had every intention of leaving a way too generous 3 star review but instead I'm checking out at midnight because I just had to kill the largest roach I've ever seen in my entire life. German cockroach too. They like to hitchhike to new places. AWESOME. In general, the place is filthy. The first red flag I ignored was the nugget of animal feces in the hallway leading to my room. One of my light switches was broken but taped back together and covered in black gunk - it also didn't work. I made the mistake of walking on the laminate floor in my room without shoes. I walked from the side table, to the window and back to sit on the bed. The bottoms of my socks were black. The floor couldn't have been vacuumed or swept either, as it was covered in debris. The walls throughout the room had splatters of yellow and darker colored... Something that are now just part of the awful patina of the room. The bathtub was covered in cigarette burns (despite the entire hotel being 100% smoke free). The toilet wouldn't flush properly and when it finally did, it sounded like a small cannon going off. Zero water pressure in the shower and half of the water continued to come out of the bath faucet when I turned the shower on. The fridge wouldn't cool but was noisy as hell with the compressor constantly kicking on in vain. They also claim to be "pet friendly". They are "pet friendly" to the extent that they will charge you $15/pet/night but besides that there is nothing pet friendly about the place. There are no ground floor rooms, which is okay. But they put me and my two dogs on the third floor. That's a lot of stairs every time I need to run them outside. They don't provide pick up bags for dog waste, which is okay. I bring my own. But they have no outside trashcans for dog waste or regular trash but were unhappy when I deposited my dog waste bags in the lobby trashcan. I guess I could've left my dogs' crap on the grass like everyone else does though. Other guests of the hotel set up and launched commercial grade fireworks 20' from my room and my dog is terrified of fireworks. I called the front desk and the girl asked me what I wanted her to do. I don't know... Anything? When I checked out at midnight citing roaches, the man at the desk was quite rude and refused to give me a receipt. All he would do is give me the manager's business card and tell me to email him if I had "proof" that there were roaches. Of course I do. As I was shlepping myself, my stuff and two dogs out to my car at midnight to sleep there for the night, I found several more roaches running around near the vending machines on my floor. Awful. AVOID AT ALL COSTS. Marriott nearby. Stay there because it couldn't be worse.
The motel has free parking. My check in went quickly. The rooms, which have free wi-fi, have inside entries. My room had everything I required. I got a good night's sleep and received my requested wake up call. My check out went quickly
I've had many great stays at this hotel over the years but more frequently the issues have outnumbered the pleasant experiences. The most frequent issue is clogged drains, but I've learned to check them before I start to get settled in the room in case I have to change rooms. In the past 2 years there were numerous other clogged sink and shower drains, shower pipes that leak water onto the floor, hair of various colors, lengths and types on the bathroom floors - I end up cleaning the stray hairs off the bathroom floor before I used it, collapsed beds, squeaky bed frames - I don't always have a great night sleep, easy transfer of noise from rooms below/above, and at least two broken A/C's. I rate them 2 out of 5 for their price and location. The staff has always been wonderful, the lobby and dining area have always been clean, but the quality of the room, the bathroom in particular, has sadly gone down over the years.
Overall, it was an okay experience. Staff was nice, and room was clean overall. Bed was comfortable and room was large. But, the water pressure was very low. Took far too long to shower because of it. In addition, and even more of a bother, the toilet made a high pitch sound for over 1 full minute almost every time it was flushed. The sound was very loud, and very high-pitched. It was unbearable to stay in the restroom during it, and it would wake up anyone else in the room during the night if someone used the restroom. I would imagine as loud as it was, it likely disturbed neighboring rooms too.
The room I got in this hotel was very dirty, the sink had toothpaste over it. I only got one small towel in the bathroom. Not only that but there was no carpet in any rooms. The TV didn't function properly and the channels were mixed based on the channel sheet. The ac is very noisy. The breakfast área only had a few small donuts and tiny muffins. There was only two types of coffee no sweeteners, and they only had apple and orange juice. Though, the only good thing was one of the people that working in the kitchen área I believe, somewhere in the back. He was a good person and helped us with breakfast.
The entire room was filthy. Black hair all through the shower, towels and wash cloths, the comforter had nasty spots all over them with one being a blood spot. Was afraid to walk on the floor without shoes. The blowdryer was falling out of the wall by a nail. And we got to enjoy the overpowering smell of weed from morning to night.
The room, amenities and housekeeping are all excellent. The location is great. Close to The Pennsylvania Turnpike and a wide array of grocery stores, Wawas and a large parking lot. Unfortunately the Subway Store on the property burned down.
We've always liked BW's commitment to clean and pleasant rooms. Since this is our first stay during COVID, we wondered if that was the cause of sparse settings everywhere, dingy room, little housekeeping, repairs needed in room.
Even though we had already prepaid for the room, we walked out and went to the Hilton Garden Inn a few miles away. The experience was bad from start to finish. The person behind the front desk never spoke a word to us at check-in. The entire hotel had a musty odor, including our room. Though the room looked okay when we first walked in, it turned out to be a dump. Our bedding had several OBVIOUS stains. The toilet seat was broken. There was dirt on the bathroom wall. The toilet paper holder was broken. The coffee maker didn't work properly. We walked out after about 30 minutes.
Switched 3 rooms on the first day. 1st room the shower didn't work, the 2nd room smelled like an ashtray and 3rd room smelled like a NYC taxi. Needs cleaning and updates. Theres more but I'm out of room.
the Gentleman who checked us in was not friendly at all, gave no info on breakfast or anything, also I had a form he said wasn't needed, asked twice ,I am an employee of best western and found this hotel horrible, it was filthy for a "non smoking" hotel there where cigarette butts in stairwells and on second floor by ice machines, the entire floor including the elevator smelled of strong odor of pot smell, the bathroom had rust in shower, the room wasn't properly set up with towels, the two towels that were in the room were very thin, I was also charged twice for my one night stay, due to not having my form in which I did and was told it wasn't needed, employees need to be trained a little better and learn customer service skills, I really don't know how this hotel is able to stay open and operate under such filth!
This is a sad, never great but now dismal hotel to be avoided. The ‘breakfast' consisted of a few choices of cold cereal, warm milk, stale muffins, and no trays to take it back to our room. The staff wore face masks ineffectively. The hard, faux wood floors in the room were unwelcoming. Housekeeping left a glass of curdled milk from yesterday's breakfast in the room, and clearly had done nothing other than make the bed. The bed was equipped with four, smallish, square pillows. The TV remote control was useless, and controlled a useless TV. You get the point. There were both a Hilton Garden and Holiday Express in the neighborhood for a few dollars more, BW was a very poor economy. I won't stay at another BW anytime soon.
This hotel needs several upgrades from the television channels, bathroom cleanness and internet. The heating system was leaking water on the floor. I recommend not staying at the hotel especially cost per night.
I felt very safe and healthy at the hotel. Social distancing and masks were enforced. Guests were friendly. Staff was friendly. Room was nicely decorated, comfortable, and clean. Grab and Go breakfast was appropriate. I did miss having a fruit option.
Best Western is my primary hotel of choice when I'm traveling anywhere in the USA so choosing the Fort Washington PA location was not an accident. Unfortunately issues I had including: 1) Hazardous driveway 2) Uncleaned room areas 3) Scalding hot, hot water 4) NO ROOM SMOKE ALARM turned me off to ever using or recommending this location until/unless changes are made. If you need a hotel in the Fort Washington PA area find somewhere else to stay
Food left in room, light bulbs missing and told check back tomorrow. Dirty footprints on bathroom floor, “out” of regular coffee at 8am. Beautiful outdoor garden belies lack of overall attentive nature of staff.
Non-smoking campus, yet the hallways on the 4th floor reeked of stale cigarette smoke and possibly pot. Hallways very obviously hadn't been vacuumed in many days, possibly weeks. Appeared under-staffed, as there was no staff to enforce the mask mandate on the guests who refused. Outside lawn area was mowed, but trash lined the grass edges. Room appeared mostly clean, but some of the lamps were unplugged, which was very inconvenient to have to move furniture so I could plug them back in. Pillows were fine, bed kind of hard. Room had a mini-fridge, but the freezer part was coated in inches of dirty frost. I had ice packs I wanted to put in, but didn't dare. I've never left a bad review for a hotel before, but this hotel is not worth it. I paid $140 for one night/one person; and it was not worth even paying $70.
The hotel had a smell. Checkin consisted of asking my last name and having the keys thrown to/at me. Floor had a worse smell that thankfully dissapated a bit inside the room. The overall repair of the room was poor. Walls bulging out from water issues, broken plumbing pieces and the shower would pulse exremely hot water at times. The shower also had significant mold and the liging area floor was so dirty we had to rewash our feet after we showered. There are pics to support this. I will NEVER stay here again, and will have second thoughts on staying at any other Best Western after this trip.
Thought about staying at a competing hotel nearby but came here instead (because they had fewer crowding issues). People were very friendly and taking distancing measures seriously. The hallway seemed to be freshly painted and carpeted, and our room looked like it had new flooring and maybe also paint. Not the newest building, but everything worked and looked clean. Fabulous AC! Bed was soft/saggy but actually comfortable. Sorry we didn't get to try the attached restaurant. We didn't try breakfast, but there's a drive through Dunkin' Donuts nearby.
This was the worst place ever. The rooms were not cleaned. We had to purchase bleach and bedding to reclean our room. It was 4th July weekend and all the hotels in the area were booked. Do not stay there the windows in the room were broken and taped up. The jacuzzi was dirty, the lights In the room sone didnt work. The bathroom had mold i bleached the whole room because we had no where else to go with a party of 10.
The location, for our purposes, was excellent, close to my relatives, close to deli's and Wawa, and easy PA Turnpike access. Our room, 305 was quiet. Everything worked as expected. Due to the virus, there was no hot breakfast. Muffins, pastries, coffee and juice was the menu. We didn't try the restaurant. Cleanliness: 1. There was a large mop string on the tile floor of our room for the entire five night stay. We left it stay each day just to see how well the room was being cleaned. It was still there when we left. 2. My wife and I use the stairs rather then the elevators just to get a little exercise. About the second day, someone spilt a drink in the stairwell. It wasn't cleaned up during the next three days that we were there. You could see where people were tracking it from the stairwell into the hallways. 3. Some days our room didn't get made up until 4 - 5 PM. 4. There appears to be some renovations going on, but we never saw anyone working. The third floor foyer by the elevators showed evidence of recent, but incomplete tile work, with paint & plaster splattered onto the hallway carpeting.
I had stayed years earlier and was a decent hotel, this time the hallways smelled moldy, musty, dank. The carpet wasn't clean the baseboard trim was off the walls the continental breakfast wasn't good at all. Stay away from this hotel. Zero stars in my opinion.
We stayed 5 days at this place, locked in by prepaid rate. In the 5 days we were there, the room AND the hallway had not been vacuumed once, the tub had not been cleaned once, and we had to ask for towels on one occasion. Towels were very scratchy as well. We purposely left a long, dirty string in the middle of our room floor to see how ling it would stay there. It was there when we checked out. We expected more. We DEFINITELY would not use this hotel again! Take your chances.
I would have given a better rating except there were renovations going on! However I love it because it is pet friendly. My husband and I were down for a quick trip and Best Western was the ideal place!
my boyfriend and I wanted a nice night get away with no distractions no kids just a nice night for us both from the moment we arrived to the moment we left we had a very nice time all the staff members that we came across were always so pleasant
My last time staying here. Was at this location last summer and the summer before. Yes the room had a strange smell. Couldn't figure it out. Bathroom wasn't as clean as it should of been. All the corners were dirty excluding the bathroom. People clean the corners. Top of all the lamps and phone was dusty. When it came time to sleep the pillows had a weird smell plus I've never seen pillows that small before. Breakfast was just ok. Very small breakfast area. And the tv was on a dish. Didn't like surfing for local Chanel's and no HBO. Then there was the painting in the hallways. Smelled. Yes they were updating but in a very cheep way. And what's up with the mattresses. One was like sleeping on the floor and the other like sleeping on cement. Did not give when you sat on it.
Breakfast is the highlight of this hotel. Harry does an exceptional job maintaining breakfast and goes above and beyond and helps guests. He's got eggs, bacon, pancakes, toast, bagels, yogurt, the whole lot! Someone give this man a raise! 10/10 customer service.
Shout out to Harry who took great care & had great pride in the breakfast buffet. So fresh. So hot. So delicious. Good parking lot. Lots of green spaces to walk/run in. A little hard to find but worth it.
The room smelled like rotten tomato soup that never went away. The other areas of the hotel were outdated. The hotel smelled cigarettes ash trays covered by heavy duty febreeze. The bath water was tinted orange. This has been the most disgusting hotel I have stayed at.
Front desk was wonderful, the gentleman there listening to what we want to eat and recommended a perfect place, got us extra towels promptly, the room was very clean and spacious, the king size bed was wonderfully comfortable- not one problem with the room and the morning breakfast was delightful great coffee hot food nice variety of fruits and bagels yogurt cereal juice pancake machine bacon and eggs great value !! The employee Harry could not have been nicer kept everything running smoothly all the tables cleaned up, it was a very nice stay - I stayed here last year at this time too and it was excellent then too I highly recommend this hotel for the money
We have previously used this Inn when needing to stay overnight in the Philadelphia area without spending a fortune. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Improvements are underway, but this didn't cause any problems with our stay. We will be using this Inn again as needed since it is within a fairly short driving distance to Center City Philadelphia.
It was a middle of the road hotel. Very disappointed in the cleanliness of the bathroom. At check in the front desk staff person left us standing while he visited on the phone and finally another staff looked after us. Left my wallet in the safe (it was still in the safe when I asked them to check the safe). They refused to help me with retrieval. Cost me 89.00 to get Fed Ex to pick it up. I am out of the country and will never stay at a Best Western again. Apparently they are independently owned. The only help I got was from the main customer service line in another state not the hotel staff themselves. Sales Rep was totally uninterested and nonchalent about the whole thing.
My friend and I stayed here for a conference.Very nice place with an incredible Indian restaurant. Excellent food and wonderful service too.All the staff at the hotel were super friendly. Harry in the breakfast room was fantastic and so helpful.
The room was nice and clean and the staff was very nice. We went to breakfast and Harry heard my son say that he wanted bacon. Harry approached us and said that he would make some bacon just for him. Needless to say, my 4 year old son was very excited.
Considering best western is an economy hotel, this location measured up to our usual stay at the nearby Hilton, except for the carpet cleaner odor. Room was spacious, we had the kitchenette suite. The staff is efficient and friendly. Harry in the breakfast room is outstanding, attending to needs before you even look up for help! Quiet rooms, closet door and desk chair were broken
The location of this hotel is great with several malls and eating places nearby. The hotel staff is nice and would greet you with a smile, the rooms were clean too. The bathroom door lock was broken in the room I stayed in, but it wasn't a deal breaker. The only thing i am dissatisfied is with the breakfast. The quality of food is bad - specially the protein. The boiled eggs kept in a mini fridge were stale which upset my stomach, so were the sausages kept one day which were all watery and bad to taste.
This hotel was a dump! The smell in the hallways and rooms is disgusting. The first room I checked into smelled horribly of cigarette and alcohol. I walked in and right back out and got the housekeeper to look and smell it. I then went to the front desk and asked for another room. This hotel seems to be owned by an individual not a corporate Best Western. The toilet barely flushed, there was mold in the shower head, it has an all around not maintained feel. I would not recommend staying here go to the holiday inn up the street for less money! There are also a lot of strange people staying there that bum money and ask for cigarettes “I don't smoke” loud music in several rooms too.
The hotel is easy to find right off the PA Turnpike. Check-in was quick and easy. The room was neat and clean and in overall very good condition. The included breakfast was quite satisfactory and the attendant was very helpful. No complaints.
Nice stop to shorten a long trip. Harry in the Breakfast Room was exceptional, helping with food items, keeping the restaurant spotless, and generally making for a pleasant atmosphere. Rooms were clean and updated, but still a bit dated. Very convenient to Philadelphia highways.
Basic breakfast included in clean, reasonably priced room. My dog was welcome. Parked right near entrance. Felt safe and comfortable here. Staff was friendly. Would definitely return. Quick food delivery from Jade Garden.
Checked in the first night, and the room literally smelled like someone just finished smoking (in a non-smoking room). I went to the front desk right away only to be told that was the last room and could not switch until tomorrow. My wife had trouble sleeping because the smoke smell was so strong. On top of that, there was hair on the shower walls and the whole room just felt unclean. We changed rooms the next day and it was somewhat acceptable. I suppose after the 1st room's horrible experience, it is easy to compare. Upon check-out, I politely requested a refund for the 1st night's stay for the above reasons. The employee offered $25 cash now, however the manager was conveniently on vacation for the next week in order to get a full refund of the 1st night. I did not concede and advised I would contact the manager next week. Employee stated everything has been notated in the system and gave me the contact information for the manager. After that I have not been able to get a hold of the manager after repeated calls and emails. Very poor business ethics and customer service at this location. Best Western should be ashamed of this representation. I would never stay at another Best Western location nor recommend to anyone else even if the price is competitive. Hands down this was the worst hotel experience I have ever had.
my recent overall stay was a great time.. what took away from the best overall experience was simply the host whom tried to check me out treated me with disrespect and treated me (African America) like a 2nd class citizen.. he projected me to be hostile all-the-while making other guest "uncomfortable". It felt like it was 1960's all over again. I asked the host whom was his direct boss he mentioned a person and did not provide me the information. The guy was a complete "***hole**.. safe to say it will be some time before I choose to frequent your location any further.
A cheerful hotel, offering good value for money. Staff very helpful, especially Harry in the breakfasting room. Just wish they redecorate the rooms and buy a complete set of new bedding, and it would be perfect. Easy to get to by car and good onsite parking.
We stayed five nights at this hotel. It was very clean and staff were friendly and responsive. The breakfast was well done and the breakfast attendant Harry was outstanding. He went above and beyond to ensure we had a good breakfast experience.
We stayed at this Best Western this past June while visiting Philadelphia. The Best Western had a number of pluses including being near a SEPTA station whose trains go downtown. The hotel is in a nice, quiet neighborhood, off the beaten path. Also the rooms had a good size. The room had a nice desk, a nice sized table, and one of the best ice boxes we encountered on a long road summer trip. In addition, the gentleman in charge of the breakfast area really cared about his area. However, there were several downsides. The room had a smell that we never got to the point that we couldn't smell. Also, the staff never put enough towels in our room. Both nights we had to go to the desk to get more. Also, the room could have been better designed. The toilet was jammed between the sink and the bathtub. In addition, we found it hard to get into the closet closest to the door. The breakfast was the average hotel breakfast.
The staff was very helpful and friendly. Didn't get the name of the gentleman at the front desk but Harry was a pleasure at breakfast. We stayed overnight after a concert at the Keswick. 12 minutes from the show. Very convenient and easy to get to.
The stay started out a little shaky when the hotels computer system crashed and they could not code the door keys. The staff was very apologetic and did all they could to get us into the room. The room was spacious, well appointed, good amenities and the king bed was very comfortable. The staff was very friendly and helpful especially Harry who serviced the great breakfast bar. We enjoyed the stay and if in the area will differently return.
Everything was clean from the hallway , steps , elevator, lobby , snack mechanic , the breakfast room also and the refrigerator at the from desk had other kinda of beverags and ice cream with a stand full of chips ,candy , cookies ,washing supplies and grooming items
Very spacious and quiet, king sized room. Attentive staff and very reasonable rates. Decent complimentary breakfast, with the usual offerings. Location is good for nearby attraction in Ft. Washington, Chestnut Hills, etc. If coming back to the area, will certainly stay at this hotel.
Excellent hotel and staff - especially Harry at breakfast. Location at north allows easy access to all of Philadelphia - plus one can avoid turnpike and expressways by using Susquehannah Road and Virginia drive.
On Saturday morning I woke up late and rushed down to the breakfast room. I saw that I was 20 min. late and I said to the people working there "I guess I'm too late". Harry who works there said "that's okay. Come in!" He was so nice! He made us feel very welcome and brought out some things that he had put away. He really helped starting out our day right. Also, Sunday morning I got in the elevator and there was a liquid on the floor and it smelled awful! I notified the front desk and they took care of it instantly.
Harry was the man running the continental breakfast. He was very nice and helpful. He explained how to use the machines for me, and made more yogurt for me. He was very polite! Good job, Harry! He deserves a raise.
This hotel was super affordable and the main reason I picked it. When we got there, check-in was fast and easy and we went up to our room and we found that the tub was very dirty. I wouldn't have wanted to use the shower without wearing flip flops. We ended up asking the employee at the front desk for a new room or for someone to come clean it and he was very nice and very accommodating and was able to give us a new room (despite how late it was) and the tub was much cleaner. He definitely made our stay more enjoyable and we appreciated his help. However, this hotel is not very clean in general. The sheets had stains all over them, which we didn't notice until the next morning. There was a wet, dirty towel in front of the ice machine on the 2nd floor during our entire stay. It didn't look like anyone had moved it, or replaced it, at all. There was a pizza crust in the stairwell going from the second floor to the first floor one night and it was STILL there the next morning. Overall, the hotel is worth the affordable price, but just be aware of the cleanliness, or lack of.
The hotel was good but good is about as much as we could expect for the reasonable price. Rooms were clean but the rest could use some cleaning and touch up. Harry, the kitchen help, worked his tail off to insure everyone was served well!!
Rooms are clean, service is good. My home away from home. Easy access off the turnpike, and yet set back far enough as to not be a nuisance. Good people to check-in and out. Best things are the people and how professional and courteous they treat you.
Definitely worth the price we paid. Staff members were professional, mannerly, and helpful -- especially Hassy in the breakfast room. The hotel is clean enough, but could use a renovation. The location is handy -- in the suburbs outside Philadelphia with ready access to major highways.
I've stayed at this hotel before. I usually book via Priceline - how I found first time. It's convenient to where I need to be, quiet and staff is friendly. Room was spotless and breakfast good - though the pancake machine was VERY slow. The ONLY issue I had over 2 nights that the bath towels are literally like sandpaper and have NO absorbency. . If that was fixed they would get a 10 star out of 1-0 rating.
I'm in the process of transitioning to my base located overseas. So I'm a little nervous and stressed out for this is a first time thing for me. I came across a situation with a prior reservation at the Extended Stay America (Horsham) when checking in due to incompetency and technical issues. Overall I was left stranded with no place for lodging. Front seat representative, Syavux really took care of me and was very empathetic to my situation. I was given a clean room with access to other accommodations. He was very proficient and helpful. Unfortunately I couldn't stay for long but I wish I did. Thank you Syavux.
I want to say, first and foremost, that my wife and I had a really bad experience with this hotel in 2016. At that time, like this time, were attending a religious function nearby with several rooms (more than 6) booked for the event. It had been 3 years and so we hoped the facility had improved, and in one way it did - the entry. When you walk into the front desk area, you are greeted with a modern and uplifting decor that appears to welcome you into a false sense of safety and security. It is when you reach the elevator you realize you may have chosen the wrong pill. When the elevator door slams open on your floor, you then realize you have stepped out of the real world and into the twilight zone. Walking down the hall to our room we noticed how greasy and nasty the hallway carpet was, not to mention the distinct odour of something that may have died years before, but which has somehow remained festering in its antiquity. Opening the door to our room was no better. The carpet was dark and dingy and the smell equally as pungent. We tried to turn on the lights given the drapes had been closed, but alas, no lights. We should have walked out. We should have turned around, but we maintained and stayed the course - it's only 4 nights - right? We finally got the lights to somewhat work - enough to educated us as to why the lights should have remained off - the 80's wallpaper was peeling, the valance over the window was falling down, the bathroom was - well - I did use the facility a couple times so it was a bathroom, alright. But that smell... the carpet had obviously not been steam cleaned or shampooed in about as many years as the place has been in business. We visited one of our companions in a "suite" - I sincerely wish I hadn't. It was a room out of the 70's with a kind of kitchenette in between the living area (if you want to call it that) and the bedroom. At least they didn't have that gawd awful smell - just a broken lamp, broken grab-bar in the bathroom, and truly atrocious decor reminiscent of horror movies where the walls begin to bleed. Yes - it was that - bad. The morning "breakfasts" were - well - I got sick one day if that's any indication. Checking out was an experience in itself. It seems the manager does not like giving receipts - at least not to me or my wife as we were literally shooed away from the front desk when we asked for a receipt. He couldn't have been more rude if he tried. I don't blame Judy - she was the one we booked the rooms through. She could only work with what she had and that is some seriously HORRIBLE management. The only thing Best Western can do to improve that location is take their name off the business. That place alone will give Best Western an "F-" rating.
Our family stayed here as a resting spot on our way to Ocean City, MD because we wanted to stop at Dave & Buster's and break up our trip. The AC wasn't working in our first room do they immediately moved us 2 doors down. The size of the room was plenty big enough to accommodate the 4 of us. The breakfast the next morning was great. There was a huge assortment. My husband ran down so I could stay with the kids. Harry helped him out tremendously and even got him a box tray to help carry our food. He is the type of worker who makes stays worthwhile by providing customer service and going the extra mile.
We stayed here three years ago and this stay was worse than the last. Judy was supposed to be our point of contact for reservations for our conference. She was rarely available and NEVER returned calls or emails. If you managed to get her, she was hateful and condescending. Even bad mouthed her manager to me. On arrival, one of the rooms had a light in the bathroom that did not work. We reported it every day and they never fixed it. Asked for a chair, I cannot sleep laying flat. Judy said no. They did it for me three years ago, but not now. Trans daughter went to ask for towels, night manager told her he couldn't help her because he was too busy. She asked for a spoon and was going to get some coffee and he stood over her in the breakfast area like a prison guard. Escorted her out quickly and scolded her for not asking for coffee first. Materials in the room says the coffee is available 24/7 in the breakfast area. Doesn't say you need managers permission to get any. Last day there, housekeeping stole $10 off our entertainment center. Left us one towel and wash rag for a double room with 4 guests. Spiders everywhere. Found one crawling on me late at night. So far, corporate is dragging its feet on whether they want to make this right or not. After spending $600+ for 3 days, I am reviewing my legal options.
The pool was nice and nice landscape around it. The room was nice. The front desk staff was nice. The breakfast was great! I asked the attendant (Harry) for some non-dairy milk and he brought me some soy milk. He was very nice and got us everything we needed.
Stayed for 2 nights in August 2019. Staff was friendly and helpful. Room smelled like a room that was previously a smoking room. A friend in another room had the same experience. Hotel is generally run down - one of those places with 8 layers of paint on everything. Outdated in general - basically it seems the owner won't put money into the place so it's being run into the ground. Staff and breakfast were good, otherwise stay somewhere else if you can.
Had to go home (hotel area) for a family issue. these folks are great. I drive a 18 wheeler, these folks had ample parking, and worked with me when I had to extend my stay twice. I can't say enough about the customer service, these a just good people. Clean room, courteous staff, the only place I stay when I need to go home.
Very clean rooms, staff was very pleasant especially our host at breakfast in the dining room. He made sure everything was fully stocked and cleaned. Came from Ft. Pierce, Florida. We will return next year.
This was a nice and clean hotel, it has a few faults like every other day cleaning but other than that it was a nice and comfy place to stay. A nice man named Harry helped us serve ourselves breakfast in the morning and he was super respectful
Our stay at this Best Western was excellent. Our room was very clean and spacious. Bed was very comfortable. Front desk was very nice and breakfast was outstanding. Clean and quiet property made us relaxed. We will definitely visit again. Fine location.
It was a long awaited date night, with my love one. We had an amazing day & a beautiful night. Look forward to my next date night with my amazing man. I could've chosen a better place. Date night with the love of my life
Came here just to get away the room was clean and spacious the staff very friendly and knowledgeable about the area the pool area was clean could have used a few more tables with chairs but it was nice I would return here again
There are various breakfast options, from yogurt to pancakes to scrambled eggs. All the while we were eating, Harry was working nonstop around us to help with the food dispensers while simultaneously cleaning and answering any questions people had about the food/dispensers. He was very friendly and all smiles. He even helped me pour milk onto my cereal since I couldn't get the hang of the jug. The only thing I didn't love was the use of plastic utensils and disposable plates for breakfast here, I'm all about reducing my plastic intake. Otherwise, everything was great!
The hotel is fine and the personel is very kind. The guy taking care of the breakfast was amazing. He works like a horse and is friendly and helpfull all the time. I would recommend other hotelmanagers to hire this guy called Harry ;-)
Harry in the breakfast area was fantastic. He worked nonstop to keep the breakfast area clean and all of the food stocked even while an entire softball team and family came down to eat at the same time!
My kids really enjoy the pool it is beautiful.. the rooms are clean and big.. the staff wee friendly check in was quick.. I only wish the price was lower so I can stay more nights.. from my room I could see the pool.. breakfast was ok
I booked online a wheelchair accessible room and got a receipt as it was corrdtly booked. Once at the hotel for the check-in the reponsible tolb me there is no accessible room in the hotel, they are already booked...WHAT!!! I shown her my receipt, her aswer is: It is a third party reservation ( which is Best Wester official Web Site) so it is there responsability. I cannot help you!!!! What!!!! Mastress are so hard, you better sleep on the floor. No hot water pressure in the bathroom, The bathroom light is working sometimes...Better to go anywhere else!
I loved the breakfast here. Harry was extremely helpful towards myself and the other guests. He worked hard to keep it clean and stocked and allowed me to have an amazing start to what had previously been headed towards being a bad day.
He was so great help.. Very friendly. He was attentive to his area very clean full of products Nd knowledge of the fruit and toppings .... Thank you all at the Best western 19034 thank you all. Judy was will be the HOSTESS WITH THE MOSTESS LOL...
Just nice and comfortable. I would recommend this hotel to anyone near or farm The staff is very accommodating, and the rooms are clean and comforatable. There is a resturant, fitness room, and pool available if you desire. I was impressed.
Stayed in room 415 and woke up with dozens of bed bug bites. Called and spoke to the manager, who said he would refund me for the night — not much consolation, but would at least have shown that the hotel cared. However, he never issued the refund and did not respond to my follow-up calls. Stay away from this place.
Room clean..building quiet. Parking easy..staff friendly and accommodating. Breakfast was ok, nothing special. The gentleman that runs breakfast is very sweet and will go out of his way to help you. Would stay again.
Stayed here last weekend, and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The breakfast was a particularly great experience. Harry keeps everything sparkling clean, and offered to help multiple times while I had my hands full gathering things for my son. For a “continental” breakfast, the hot eggs and meat was an amazing addition. The pool was very nice, but hard to find. A sign in the lobby would be helpful! Overall, very happy with you choice to stay here!
The Fort Washington Best Western was a great place to stay. We had to travel to Philadelphia for business on short notice and this hotel was easy to get to, clean and affordable. The breakfast was included in the price had a wide variety of options. The staff were friendly and helpful.
This hotel was Dirty, smelly, and no water pressure in the shower. A Nasty hotel overall The Elevator door barely opened. Carpets were dirty. Lobby was horrible looking and dirty. I would never stay there again.
Harry runs the buffet there and he does a great job making sure everything is in order. Actually enjoyed his energy! We had a great breakfast getting ready for my daughters soccer tournament. Again peopme there are very helpful!
The hotel is convenient to reach from the highway. The room was clean and adequate for our needs. The free breakfast was good and the service provided by Harry was excellent. He is very friendly and attentive and it is nice to see someone who enjoys his job so much!
Thanks for the excellent service especially Harry's perfect breakfast with pancakes and fresh fruits every morning. The rooms were very clean, big and quiet. Thank you very much! It was a wonderful stay
The staff at this hotel were very friendly and helpful. That's a good thing because there was a lot to cope with. When we arrived at our room, an air cleaning machine was roaring away. It seems a previous guest smoked there (against policy). The gentleman at the front desk offered to change us to a different room, but when we got in there, we found the air conditioner was not working - and could not be fixed until the next day. We went back to the previous room in order to remain on the top floor of the building. We stayed at the hotel for three days. The breakfast offerings were about average, the room was comfortable and mostly clean (except for a desiccated cat turd we found under the table). We attempted to use the laundry facilities, but the load-sensing washer filled the tub just halfway, which wasn't enough to cover our clothes. Again, front desk staff did their best to cope and managed to add about two inches of water. The hotel is close to a train station if you want to avoid Philadepha traffic. The ride was quick and easy. We weren't unhappy with this hotel; it just could benefit from some additional maintenance and upkeep.
This place was not up to the Best Western standards. The beds were hard, the toilet leaked, the hallway smelled like curry, and the room smelled like alcohol and tobacco. That was supposed to be an upgrade! We were given the room next door but that wasn't much of an improvement. The breakfast area felt dirty and I didn't trust the food. There was a used bath towel hanging behind the bathroom door and the room was poorly lit. For all the Best Westerns we have stayed over the years, this was one of the worst.
Checked in yesterday (#233) evening and when heading out noticed the table lamp by the window was not working. Told the front desk guy and his response was classic..."you dont need that fixed tonight do you?.....Are you kidding me? That's great customer service indeed....NOT!. If that,s their attitude then no further Best Westerns for me.
Severed our need to be close to the university but also not to get mired in traffic or parking issues. The hotel met all our needs. The overall room was fine. Breakfast was good as well. No issues checking in or checking out.
There was a horrible odor in the hotel. Our bathroom had mold on the walls. The room itself was nice and comfortable but for the odor it would have been nice. The room included breakfast but we didn't eat there.
I will be contacting corporate office. I reserved a suite, that not only had a dirty bathtub it was full of cigarette and marijuana smoke. Next room had a broke box spring and toilet that did not flush, it was a regular room, then I was moved to a third room in less than 12 hours, also a regular room because the suite was not available, and despite being told by the manager that he would adjust my bill and only charge me for one night at the regular room rate, I just checked my bank account and I was charged the full rate of 3 nights at the suite price!
Clean comfortable rooms for the price. Breakfast was nice, eggs, sausages, cereals, yogurt, pancakes ETC. Close to interstates and gas stations. If I had to come back to the area I would definitely stay here again !!
For a budget property, this was pretty nice. The fact that it was a great price (booked on Booking.com) and the staff (particularly Harry) bumped this property to 4 stars. Overall, the hotel seems older and a little tired, but it's generally well maintained. On the plus side, there is a "business center" located in the lobby that has several fast computers with large monitors that are free for guest use. This property abuts a freeway, but the insulated rooms were able to block the traffic noise, at least at the far end of the property. (The pool has a "view" of the freeway, but it was closed for the season.) The upstairs hallway smelled strongly of Indian food, but that might have been because the hotel has an elevator that connects directly to the Indian restaurant next door. The room, itself, smelled heavily of room deodorizer and was very humid. (We wondered whether the smell/humidity was a result of cleaning after something had spilled or general carpet cleaning, but we tried not to overthink it.) The room was well appointed, with a large desk/chair, single-serve coffee maker, accent chair, small dining table with 2 chairs, lots of outlets on the lamp bases to plug in electronics, etc. The room could have used more lighting (particularly in the dining area, which was poorly lit) but was clean. There was a large screen TV, but it turned out that most of the channels I tried didn't work. We figured that it was just a glitch, but the same channels didn't work the next day, either. We didn't bother reporting it because we were in our PJs and didn't want to deal with some maintenance guy coming to our room. The staff were all friendly, especially Harry, the guy who maintains the complimentary breakfast buffet. He was always smiling and hustling and going over the top to make folks happy. For example, he saw me struggling, as I was getting food for two to take back to the room, and he immediately cleared out a box to help me carry the items. The breakfast buffet was impressive for a budget hotel, with options from scrambled eggs, bacon/sausage, and made-to-order pancakes (wasn't working one morning) to cereals, bagels, mini-muffins, and toast. There was even a vanilla yogurt dispenser with a variety of toppings (ranging from dried pineapple and coconut to candy sprinkles). Drinks consisted of OJ or apple juice and the usual coffee/tea. The buffet area is kind of cramped, but the breakfast room itself is decent size, with a TV tuned to the news (but thankfully not blaring). Harry was the star of the staff, but everyone we encountered was friendly. A special shout out to Daisy, too, who checked us out via a cell phone call when we realized later that we'd inadvertently forgotten to formally check out in our rush to make an appointment (due to a slow-moving teenager). Bottom line, we'd stay at this property again if we're in the area.
Very happy to have found this, travelling with a dog is never easy. Nice rooms, clean and friendly. Great breakfast buffet and Harry runs it so well! Nice choices and liked the pancakes! Looking forward to the Indian food on site here.
Harry's smile in the morning and amazing attention and care was just the thing to get us going in the morning. Had a great time staying at the inn. Everyone is very friendly, rooms are clean and food is delicious!
Recently traveled here for business meeting. Hotel is situated off the main highway/strip malls which makes it a cozy stay. The room was great, the staff was great, the breakfast was the usual continental hotel type. "Harry" was the gentleman working in the breakfast area. He was wonderful! Greeted everyone, made you feel like family and not a crumb fell onto the table that he didn't notice in addition to keeping the food area impeccable clean. He is a gem, demonstrating a work ethic extraordinaire. Best Western should be proud to have him has a representative of their company. I would definitely stay here again.
Just rating my man Harry. A1 service, this guy is the pancake plug. On top of everything at breakfast keeps it there and hot. Harry for president this guy is good he understands people. Harry's hospitality is unmatched he is kinder than Oprah and cooler than any one I know. Harry 2020. Give my man a raise. 5 stars for Harry.
My boyfriend and I drove up to Philadelphia from Massachusetts to spend the weekend, and I could not be more pleased with my stay at the best western. Beautiful hotel and hotel staff. Very clean place!
Excellent place to stay!!! Great service, breakfast, fitness room, etc. Very friendly employees. Would recommend this hotel to anyone. Very good appearance and very clean. GO TO THIS HOTEL IF YOU'RE EVER IN THE AREA!!!!
During breakfast, Harry prevented a coffee mishap. I am grateful for his quick intervention and kindness. The parking lot was safe and slightly off the main road.I would stay there again for a quick stay enroute to other locales.
We only stayed for a couple days but it was a good experience, the rooms were clean and staff was nice. The breakfast that was provided was certainly a big plus, one of the workers Harry was very helpful and took very good care of us. I would recommend staying here for anyone traveling around the area.
Pros: easy checking, nice room, great breakfast, easy checkout, nice large flat screen tv in room, along with microwave, refrigerator and safe. Clean bathroom. Cons; terrible Indian restaurant on site - curry, curry, curry, yuk. Bed was too hard.
It was a great time. We really enjoyed ourselves. We got there on time and the front desk person was very helpful. Our room was amazing and we relaxed so wonderfully. Our bed felt so amazing. Felt like a cloud.
We've stayed in this hotel before, it's convenient to my parents' retirement facility. But this time....nope. The first room was right next to the elevator despite the hotel being far from full. The second one had a broken toilet, and the third one was OK except for a truly dirty bathtub. By that time we were too tired to move anymore. We only stopped by breakfast which has almost no gluten-free options, and the coffee was bearable, just. Frankly, for the price, there are other places in Ft. Washington and Willow Grove that are cleaner and nicer.
I recently stayed at the BW for a work related trip. My check in process was a breeze thanks to Judy. For the price, my room offered ample space, and was very clean. Don't expect a modern and luxurious hotel. The complimentary breakfast is generous and has several options. I arrived from a very early and long flight, a little after the breakfast was closed, but Harry, kindly offered me fruits and muffins. He keeps the breakfast room impecable and even helped me open the elevator so I could take the food with me. Those gestures make the difference in the hospitality industry. If you are like me, and you are looking for a place just to sleep, this BW does it and a bit more.
THe room was very stale, unpleasant odor, very outdated resembling a motel. Cigarette burns around the room. The room felt very insanitary and uncomfortable. I only stayed because it was late and I was experiencing a difficult life event. I was tired and had been driving for hours and needed rest. This was a horrible decision.
This is a great hotel for the price. Was on town with my 2 daughters & sister. We booked a room with 2 queen beds & it was more than enough room. Breakfast was good, hotel staff was very helpful & pleasant.
I only want to stay here the breakfast was good the people was nice it has a little convient store that's very close and Asian palace restaurant has a lot of Asian food that was really good I love the area the people's it was better than a 5 star hotel
Exceptional Service on all levels of hospitality. Would definitely recommend stay at this property and likewise brand properties to all friends, family, and business associates. Leaders in the brand worldwide.
We love to stay here every time we visit our daughter and family who live in Glenside PA. Excellent service, friendly staff, great accommodations and reasonable prices. We look forward to our next visit.
This hotel is my go-to hotel in the Ft Washington area. It's not fancy but it's good value for money. The rooms are always clean and the staff is very friendly. Free breakfast (including scrambled eggs, breakfast meats, fresh pancakes, and a selection of fruits and baked goods) is included with the room. There's an excellent Indian restaurant next door for other meals, and a Wawa down the street for those of us who miss living near a Wawa. The rooms come with free & dependable internet access and a fridge. Pet-friendly and convenient to turnpike, Rt 309, and Ambler PA.
Very Clean, Smelled good, all staff very pleasant and helpful. rates was better than a couple other places.. Very nice restaurant right next door others are within a 5 to 10 drive. Short drive of major highway. Would stay here again when in the area.
This hotel suited our needs just fine as we were staying there over Christmas with our 2 dogs while visiting family. There was a nice area in back for walking them. The staff was very friendly, always smiling and helpful when needed. Harry, the Breakfast "manager" was fabulous! He was so helpful to the families that had young children and to those that needed assistance with the pancake machine. The coffee was fresh as was the fruit and he was constantly replenishing the hot food and making sure the counters and tables were spotless.
We have stayed two separate times at the Fort Washington, Pa location and it did not disappoint either time. It is very clean, the breakfast is great with many different items to choose from and the staff is very friendly.
The check in and check out person was great. Harry in the breakfast area was very helpful and made our breakfast enjoyable. the room suite was very nice and the bed was comfortable. The restaurant was connected to the motel and had easy access.
This hotel was great! I was pleasantly surprised by the breakfast. They had scrambled eggs, bacon, pancakes, cereal, yogurt with toppings, etc. The room was clean. Easy check in. We will return to this hotel.
A very memorable stay because of the staff. They are all very attentive, friendly, and nice. They look happy working there. I learned that many are from the same Caribbean country and they treat each other like family. The guy (believe his name is Henry) who takes care of kitchen is very hard working, friendly, and dedicated. He speaks French to my son every morning when we went for breakfast. The manager there is very nice too.
Have stayed here in past but this time for 3 nights to be close to family. Very convenient, clean, good service and nice rooms. Breakfast was good and had lots of variety. The only drawback was that there is not an indoor pool.
The hotel is nice and rooms are clean and spacious. The hotel staff are very friendly and helpful. Will recommend this hotel. Breakfast was okay Haffy the breakfast attendant is nice and helpful. Location is good
Good location, quiet, and near enough to restaurants with a rapid delivery service as well. The hotel staff is charming, the room very clean, nice breakfast, large flat screen tv set. excellent parking with some spaces sheltered.
Thank you Harry for helping My daughter who is 11 and my son who is 7 in the breakfast room. The room was clean and there was some good breakfast. Thank you Harry for helping my children during breakfast.
The hotel stay was very nice. Staff was very freindly. I would highly reccommend this location as a nice place to stay. The room was clean, the staff was available and approchable, and when I do eat there, the breakfact is not really that bad. Quite, peaceful, and calm atmosphere
On vacay from Cali, staying in New York and drove to Philly to experience an authentic Philly Cheesesteak. So fat, full and tired we decided to catch some zzz's and stay overnight. It was decided to stay away a BW. BIG MISTAKE!!!! The non-smoking floors/rooms reeked of smoke, the shower head was green with mildew, the was no stopper to take a bath and to top it off, the water pressure was next to nil!!! Despite the front desk clerk's attitude and the night manager's nonchalant manner of responding to our issues, We were given another room. This one was better but the residual from the bad customer service was already there. The only ray of sunshine in our visit was the breakfast attendant Harry. He should teach the rest of his coworkers the meaning of customer service. Thank you Harry for all you do!! If it wasn't for you, this rating would be a 1!!
Harry was absolutely great. Although we were at the tail end of the breakfast time, Harry told us to come in and have breakfast while he was clearing the room. It was so nice and thoughtful. He made our stay so nice!!!!
Got the hot tub room in advance not a nice as the only picture, but still was outside of the bathroom, the jets didn't work. The light above the tub didn't work, and we just assumed the tub could use an extra clean before use. The staff was very friendly though, maintenance guy, breakfast guy and the receptionist.
Quick and friendly check in, clean hallways, clean room, air conditioned, new tv, great breakfast spread for it being complimentary,(eggs bacon bagels toast yogurt o.j oatmeal, fruit, pancakes cereal what more could you want) quiet industrial area of town, 30 mins from casino to the West 30 mins from Central Philly to the South, plenty of parking, nice lobby, computers available as well as in room wifi, i stayed on 3rd floor, bed was a little stiff but overall a positive experience, just had to leave a review after reading some bad ones had to share my experience as a good one and i would def return, friendly staff yall doing great
Great location just off the Penn turnpike. The beds are comfortable and the room was very clean. Judy, who checked us in was pleasant and delightful. Supper helpful as well helping us find a place to eat. Harry who maned the breakfast buffet was also super helpful and attentive to our needs. I would recommend this hotel to anyone needing a place to stay in the area.
Harry in the breakfast room was great. Extremely helpful. Breakfast was good. Room was comfortable. Bathroom could use up dating. Water pressure in shower was poor. Hotel located near highway. Easy access.
Harry in breakfast area was very helpful, accommodating. Pleasant smile. A good breakfast for the price included in room charge. Stay was comfortable . Convenient to turnpike exit. Easy to find. Pleasant hotel staff .
We came to the hotel due to water issue in our home and our check in was made so simple by the Harry and the manager. The service at breakfast was amazing as he was attentive to our vegetarian dietary needs. Such excellent service from a local hotel impressive!!!
My family stayed here because the hotel we booked was overbooked. It could have been cleaner. The hotel had a weird smell. Mr. Harry was the sunshine in our clouds during our free breakfast. He was there to guide us as we made our breakfast and made sure everything was clean and full in the breakfast area. He was the best.
Check in was quick, they thought I had reserved a smoking room and was told they did away with them 3 weeks ago so she upgraded me to a kitchenette room. Room was large, containing living room/office, kitchen, bath and bedroom. Was clean furniture in nice shape, bed was comfortable. Needs a new desk chair. No padding, alarm clock display was screwy, probably could have asked at desk to have items replaced but just let it go. Pool hours were 9 to 9, pool is accessed from 2nd floor, strange, the door from pool would be locked so you couldn't go out, but people could jump the pool fence and access the hotel, didn't seem very secure but probably has never been a problem. Can't imagine someone casing the hotel and figuring out that thst door gives you unlimited access to hotel without going through lobby. Card key door would be better. Breakfast was good. Pancakes, scrambled eggs, cereal, yogurt, bagels and fruit available. Harry kept everything well stocked and tidy! The deli, convenience store in the old train cars out front was very strange. Looks like we were the only ones to try it, refrigerator for drinks was empty, drink dispenser was out of order, we ordered 2 chicken hoagies which did not contain much chicken, the man running the place had been here 2 weeks, he was very nice. It was very clean but I'd probably venture elsewhere to eat. The pool was clean, towels were provided, comfortable lounge chsirs, chairs and tables with umbrellas. Pool had some missing tiles, paver were a bit choked with weeds, pool temp was comfortable for Sept.
Hotel within easy reach of Philadelphia, normal with average rooms, decent breakfast. It needs a renovation but be passable for short periods Perhaps it is possible to find better but to be acceptable
WORST STAY OF MY LIFE --- BED BUGS --- I got bitten all over, it's so itchy and hard to get rid of, it completely screwed up my stay and my following 2 weeks on vacation and at home where my legs were hurting and I was afraid to carry those creatures everywhere with me. The front desk man knew about the bug bites and didn't tell anyone - when I came down to tell him about it he had no reaction except to say "okay we will refund you, you can go". He seemed fully aware of the situation but kept checking in new guests. This is grounds for lawsuit.
Breakfast was nice & fulfilling. The taintlessness of the area was well kept by Mr. Harry. He made sure everything was stocked! The hotel & area around the hotel was quiet. The hotel states it was 100% smoke free but the 2nd & 3rd floor reeked of old cigarettes & closed in smoke.I was on the 4th floor the freshess smelling floor. Overall stay was pleasant but My room carpet need to redone against the wall. Room 420
Nice clean hotels with big rooms. Outdoor pool out back- water a bit cold for me but the kids liked it. Very nice breakfast and excellent service - thanks to Harry for helping out the kids with their pancakes.
The hotel is well maintained, the staff if very friendly and accommodating, good value overall, quality Indian restaurant, and the GOLD STAR (3 stays in a row) go to Harry the breakfast room attendant. He is who we want our children to grow up to be like; warm, helpful, generous with his help, hard worker, and a genuine good person. Bravo BW in Fort washington,
Harry in the breakfast area is very friendly and efficient ????. I would score him a 10+ The room was clean. However the motel is not fully non-smoking. In my case I stayed in a non-smoking room yet I noticed as I folded back my covers that my top sheet had burn holes (from cigarette smoking- many holes). They do know that customers see such things, right? I'm giving the benefit to them to allow these sheets to be gone when I return. If not, my review will be reduced to a single star.
It was OK for our overnight stay, but a couple of things disappointed us and cause me not to give a higher rating: 1) The hotel is not yet fully non-smoking - planning to be all non-smoking soon, but still some rooms for smokers. We requested a non-smoking room but were first given a smoker's room - it reeked of cigarette smoke. We had to drag our things back to the lobby and ask for a different, non-smoker's room. One of the staff seemed surprised as she expected that room to be a non-smoking room. We did receive a different room, which was not a smoker's room. 2) The replacement room, however, had a wet area on the carpet near the bed. As it was already late by the time we got the room and noticed it, we did not report it until the next morning at check out. I will note that the staff had to deal with a problem at the time of our check-in: the fire alarm went off. It turned out there was no fire - the alarm at the adjacent restaurant had been pulled. However, the staff had to deal with a noisy alarm that they kept having to reset in order to stop the sound. Eventually the fire department came and took care of things. During this period, many guests called to find out what was going on. Although the incident distracted the staff during our check in, I observed that the staff did their best to maintain calm and deal with the situation while reassuring guests. I agree with a previous reviewer that the hotel could use some renovation – the interior halls in particular need refreshing.
My wife and I arrived at this hotel the second day of our honeymoon. I'll spare the details, but needless to say we had some issues confirming our reservation, despite the BW we stayed at for the first night having no issues. When we arrive, the lady behind the desk, sales director Judy, is having some issues checking me in, and says as much. I say we did too. She then says that this is why we don't book third party (we didn't), and call them directly. Or “have mom call [them].” Now, I don't know who did bad things in this lady's cereal, or if she thought my stutter meant I was retarded and in need of parental guidance, it should go without saying that this was uncalled for. I'm 22, married, and a grad student. I then say, casually, that I don't know why this hotel is giving us trouble when our first BW didn't. She gets all defensive, saying it wasn't them, but their reservation software. She says she'll let me go ahead and check in, though. We get to our room, and it's decent. Nothing exceptional, but clean, and in good repair. The WiFi, however, has gone out a few times just in the time it's taken to write this review, on both mine and my wife's phone. Honestly, if it wasn't for Judy, I'd have no complaints other than the WiFi. Whether it's because she's old and hates the world for what it's become, or she had a bad experience previously today, but I am NOT impressed with the customer service here.
We arrived at midnight after a day of driving. Check in was fast and friendly. Our room was big and clean. The beds were comfortable. Breakfast was decent. Harry was very friendly and on point cleaning and refilling breakfast items. I would definitely come back.
The hotel needs renovation. But still looks nice. The breakfast was really thrown together and not well prepared. Most guest threw it in the trash because they were expecting more. The 2% milk was spoiled and was unable to eat cereal leaving my kids without munch to eat.
Stayed in a room that we reserved, as we were travelling and had a great experience at a Best Western in Lumberton, North Carolina the night before. The pictures will speak for themselves... However, more disappointing, we asked to switch rooms and were advised that we needed to meet with the night manager when he arrived later in the evening. When the “alleged” manager arrived, he advised that we could switch rooms, but would be charged for both the new and our original rooms and that the only hope of a refund would need to be discussed with the morning manager that arrives at 7am. The best way to describe my experience was “stayed in a crappy hotel with a passive-aggressive manager”. Again, I think the disgusting pictures will speak for themselves.
This hotel was cheap and convenient, but I would pay double to not smell this place again. We found it very outdated and dirty, but what was worse than anything was the overwhelming smell. The only way to describe it is to say that just a couple minutes here made my hair smell like curry. I suspect it came from the attached restaurant. The breakfast was less than attractive.
I stayed at the BW while in the area to attend a concert at the Keswick Theatre 4 miles away. It was easy to get to from the turnpike and in a quiet area of office buildings, etc. Overall, I was happy with my visit. The fourth floor had a strong odor of cigarette smoke, but it wasn't apparent inside my room #410. The room was clean and comfortable. Staff was pleasant and helpful; I had gotten an upgrade to a suite although, travelling solo, I didn't really need it. I left next morning before breakfast so didn't check that out. And I thought the room rate was quite good considering the area.
Stayed in a room on the 2nd floor and had a bad feeling about it too. Room was not very clean and woke up with bed bug bites on me. Beware and be careful with this location. Overall, the staff were friendly and it was In a safe and convenient location. Breakfast was okay, they had juices and some pastries.
Stayed 2 nights while in the Philadelphia area. The hotel smelled. When we got into pour room, the deodorizer was so strong I got a headache within 30 minutes. The A/C unit was taped up and rigged to a portable unit. Dirty, hairy bar of soap was on the bathroom floor for our entire stay even after I brought it to the attention of the front desk staff and was told it would be taken care of. yes, even after housekeeping "cleaned " the dirty soap remained. The shelf and sink were held up by nailed in boards. Come on do some simple repairs. The beds were comfortable and the breakfast was good but I would not stay here again.
While waiting to check in to our room, my first encounter was at this property was a displeased guest who was double charged for their stay. Although the staff was courteous, they didn't resolve the guest's issue. The overall hotel was acceptable, but there were make-shift repairs that were made to issues instead of properly fixing them Our room's air conditioner was apparently not working, so instead of repairing it they rigged a portable A/C unit to the existing one. Weird. See photo.
My wife and I stayed here for two nights while visiting family and seeing the sights in Philadelphia. When I called in the reservation, the representative quoted a price, and I said I could do better on the Internet. She then agreed to match the lower price. When we arrived, she then upgraded my room to a mini-suite for the same price. It's an older motel, but it met our needs for a place to sleep and a decent, free breakfast. The employees were very cordial and friendly, especially Harry, the breakfast room attendant. Our room had two TVs so we could watch what we wanted. Overall, it was a good experience, although the motel could used a sprucing-up.
Chose this location just outside Philadelphia for its proximity to the next days activities in Jenkintown, PA and because of past positive experiences with Best Western hotels. While activities in the area are limited, hotel was clean, rejuvenating, and situated in what appeared to be a safe area. My choice did not, repeat, not disappoint. Indian restaurant next door provided a free welcome beer, which was much appreciated.
Found this property on booking.com. Very satisfied! Clean, nice breakfast room and very polite and well trained staff. The rate was reasonable and proximity to Philadelphia worked well. We would stay here again. Highly recommended for less than $150.
I travel alot and write alot of reviews. The manager Ravi Verma at the Best Western here has to be the worst I ever come across. I have been trying to resolve a issue from 7 months ago and still nothing, and probably never will. He doesnt return phone calls or e-mails. One of his assistants Judy tries to help me, but I'm sure her hands are tied. My advice is Don't stay here and find a place where the guest come first and not them.
Booked Best Western due to reviews I had read online that were all so postive.. Well needless to say, the reviews were correct! Clean place, comfy beds and great staff! Will definitely stay here again while in the Philly area.
The continental breakfast was great, the staff were great. I was upset because this hotel was a bit out of the way for where I needed to be for an exam, but I booked anyway because I wanted access to the pool. The pool was under construction when we arrived, and it made the price and location very inconvenient. The staff were not willing to do anything to remediate my dissatisfaction.
The breakfast includes pancakes, cereal, eggs, sausage, and all kinds of other good stuff -- and Harry graciously helps people help themselves, and keeps the place clean... even with a busload of teens dining on our last morning, it was quite enjoyable.
the location of this hotel is excellent for my needs. I have stayed here many times, and am never disappointed. As a woman traveling alone, I have never felt unsafe. Staff is friendly and efficient. The breakfast is adequate. I come to area to visit elderly family members and having this quiet clean room to return to is very important to me. The bed is wonderful and the room has a refrigerator, microwave and safe. What more could you want?
My school chose this hotel for our 2018 spring trip to Philadelphia. Not only was I comfortable, but a man named Harry who worked with the free morning breakfast was incredibly kind, mannerful, and more helpful than any hotel worker I've ever seen.
Our room was lovely and everyone was really friendly! We especially enjoyed Harry's help in the breakfast room. He was really kind and helpful and made our breakfast with two small children really easy!
needed to stay somewhere reasonable as we were picking our daughter up after her first year at college. comfortable room-complete with microwave and refrigerator-great breakfast-Henry, aka Mr Breakfast, was fabulous. he made an effort to talk with everyone in the breakfast area and help them out as much as possible. something i really havent seen in similar hotels.
I stayed in this hotel just once. I will rather sleep in my car than sharing my room with bed bugs. When I called front desk at 2 a.m. to let them know about my problem, he was very rude and asked me to come down for the key to other room (no courtesy for an apology). I couldn't take it anymore. This was the first ever the worst experiences.
decent hotel, building is older, but it has been kept up. The room was clean and comfortable, good bed (firm but not rock hard). Staff were courteous and professional. Overall is good value for the price. I would stay at this hotel again when in the area,
Pros: Establishment was clean and reasonably well maintained. The room size, noise levels, decor and bedding were comfortable. The male attendant that serviced the breakfast area was fantastic. He was alert to everything that was going on, what needed to be restocked and what needed to cleaned up. Very impressive. I did not talk to him but if he could be retrained to do check-ins, he would be a super-star. At check-out my wife was asked "How did we do". I very much appreciate someone asking that question rather than assuming they know my experience without asking. That implies they are trying to do better. Cons: Slow check-in. For no good reason since I am as well documented as anyone, did an on-line check-in with supplied more info and I am a member of the loyalty club (Best Western Rewards), yet the check-in took wayyy to long to the point I had to ask if there was a problem. The cable TV system is really bad. It frequently drops the audio and the picture pixulates - both frequently and not at the same time (making it much worse). Made it impossible to enjoy anything on TV. The chair in the room had arms that were higher then the table and therefore the chair could not be moved to under the table. It wasn't a big deal but it made room navigation a little more awkward than necessary. Tip: The hotel location is in a large industrial park and beside a large traffic cloverleaf. Be very mindful of your GPS instructions because if you miss a turn, there are very large circles of separate roads you will travel to get to this location. Summary: If you don't mind slow check-ins and don't plan on watching TV, I think you will have a pleasant stay at this location.
Stayed here for a nearby concert. Last year I stayed here and enjoyed my stay! No so this year! The gentleman behind the front desk was not very helpful. He asked me if I had 2 rooms reserved and I said no, so he cancelled one room and gave me no information on what he was cancelling. He gave me no information about the time for breakfast, etc. When I was I walking to my room, the hallway smelled heavily of smoke and housekeeping had the guest room doors propped open. My room smelled OK, mainly of cleaner. When I got to my room, I called downstairs to ask about the Subway sandwich shop that used to be on the same property and the gentleman at the front desk said that it was closed and hung up. I wasn't done talking. It is a quiet area, but nothing nearby to walk to. I will probably use this hotel again if I go to a concert near by. The breakfast was very nice and the breakfast attendant was very nice!
I stayed very briefly (4 hours total) at this hotel. I read a number of negative reviews online so I wanted to pipe in and say that my room was very clean and the bed was comfy. The gentleman who checked me in at 1 AM was courteous and professional.
I'm a Best Western Rewards member and I really wish I had read more reviews before I chose this location when I was in town for work. Sure, it's convenient to my office and really close to the highway, but it has none of the features that I associate with the quality of Best Westerns On arrival, the first room I was given had not been cleaned. I walked in to find the garbage cans over flowing, the bed unmade, litter on the floor, and hair in and around the toilet. When I went back to reception to complain, they didn't seem the least bit surprised and immediately gave me a new room. The new room had been cleaned but it smelled musty and I don't think the AC/heater turned off the entire time I was there (it was loud). The carpets felt pretty gross and I wished I had brought my flip flops so that I didn't have to touch them with my bare feet. They should probably be steam-cleaned. The bathtub floor seemed a little dingy and the shower curtain had holes in the plastic parts that just made the whole experience feel pretty cheap. The bed was hard as a rock. I'm pretty young and I've never had back problems before, but after my first night in the bed here, I could barely stand. Upon checking out, I mentioned how hard the bed was, and the front desk clerk broke one of the cardinal rules of hotel management: don't bring up the fact that you're sharing a space others have been in. He asked, "why didn't you come down and ask us for a different room?" I told him I had assumed all their beds were the same. He told me that it depends on who slept on the bed last. "If it was a heavier person in the room last, the bed might feel a little softer." Blegh. I do not want to think about sleeping in the same bed as other guests. And it's a bit of a moot point unless the hotel is actively keeping track of which guests are heavy and which ones aren't, which brings its own set of problems. It was just a not-very-good answer. The breakfast left a lot of be desired, particularly since all the fresh fruit, both bananas and apples were bruised and looking worse for wear. I got myself a bowl of cheerios and the last remnants of milk (at 7:10a, they were running out of milk?) instead. I've seen a lot of praises in these reviews for the breakfast area, but it felt really crowded. I think the hotel might benefit from rearranging it and maybe even placing additional seating out in the main lobby, because it is really packed. I think if I have to work in this area again, I'd try a different hotel.
this was a surprisingly nice hotel with good complimentary breakfast and nice appointments. good value for the money. Rooms are clean and beds comfortable. The location is central but nice and quiet. water temp fluctuations need attention but I will be staying there again.
I was there for a business trip and stayed for couple nights. Wifi/Internet was very good and Staff/services was exceptional. My room was very neat and clean. My experience with this hotel is best. I would definitely recommend this to other people.
We will stay here again, Business trip, great location.Nice bed had a good sleep. Indian restaurant on site was plus for me. Would definitely recommend this hotel. Thank you so very much! We will certainly recommend your hotel to friends and family!
Very quiet, clean, friendly and reasonably priced. Pets OK. Better than average breakfast. Updated rooms comfortable. Easy 30 min. drive to Philly. New Serta mattresses - slept so well the last couple times we've stayed there, I purchased two for my home.
The Best Western in Ft Washington Inn, Pa' was more than happy to work with my special needs and hotel stay. Management was very understanding as to my social and personal needs; housekeeping continuously was right there on top of anything that needed restocking or cleaning; and Harry who works in the kitchen was always assertive enough to a ask me if I needed anything and Harry made sure that I had a pleasant breakfast in their awesome breakfast buffet every morning! Overall, my experience at The Best Western was close to all destinations, safe, organized and very relaxing! I am extremely happy to meet such a supportive and understanding staff; via Best Western, Ft Washington.
Stinky room and unfriendly front desk staff. I specifically asked for a non-smoking rooms and no pets, but the smell was a mixed of both musked by a potent cheap air freshner. Rooms are old, dark, and need new paint.
This hotel still has smoking rooms. We stayed on the 4th floor, and even though our room was non-smoking, the hallway reeked of cigarette smoke, and you could smell it a bit even in our room. Come on, Best Western, who still has smoking rooms in their hotels in 2018? Unless you don't mind cigarette smoke or are a smoker, I would strongly avoid staying here. The toilet was running when we checked in at 4:00 pm, and the front desk said no one was available to fix it until the next day. They said it could be fixed the next day, and they did offer to let us switch to another room, but we thought we could tolerate it for one night. Needless to say, it was not fixed the next day. There was only one blanket and no pillows for the sleeper sofa. We asked for these items to be delivered to our room, and then went out for the evening. When we returned, they had not been delivered and we had to go back down to the front desk to request them again. The bedspread had a brown stain on it. Otherwise the room was clean and everything else was in good condition.
The breakfast was simple but tasty, and there were plenty of choices: eggs, bacon, cereals, pancakes, sweet rolls, toast, juices, coffees and teas. Harry was exceptionally helpful, friendly and personable. A great deal for the cost!
This hotel and the staff were very kind to my family and me as we came up for my dad's funeral. They were helpful, friendly. When I needed a folder for my eulogy, they provided me with one. I brought my little albino Chihuahua and it was no problem. Overall, I would highly recommend that people stay at this hotel. Thank you so much to the beautifully kind and accommodating staff!
The room was clean for the most part, the laminated TV guide was very sticky. Bathroom could've have been cleaner, but wasn't the worst thing I've seen. The highlight of the trip was the attendant in the breakfast room, Henry. He was very friendly and accommodating.
Disappointment with Best Western. Not well kept , hotel and rooms look jaded. Staff is OK just going through the motions but indifferent. missed cleaning the room 1 day . Breakfast area jaded, jars that hold milk etc had hand marks, finger prints all over the containers - unsanitary to me , very plain jane . Not cozy / friendly atmosphere.
Our hotel stay was good overall. This hotel offers covered parking as well as a large parking lot. Breakfast was good, Harry the breakfast attendant was great. They have an outdoor pool but we stayed in February so obviously didn't use it. They also have a guest laundry room which I always appreciate. Room was clean and comfortable. Elevator did smell like pot but once we got onto our floor the smell wasn't there. They keep pets and smokers on higher floors so that was nice. Judy at check in was also very friendly.
Basic but great terrific breakfast! Common areas and stairways could use some refreshing- they haven't been on a long long time. And it is not a new facility. But room and bed comfortable. It was great to have after we lost electricity. Breakfast outstanding, parking excellent and close to turnpike and expressway.
Stayed here over the weekend, and we were given a nice clean room in the 2nd floor. Huge King bed, clean sheets and bathroom too. Go get their free breakfast, and be sure to greet Harry. He's responsible for the breakfast area, and he helps customers whenever they need something in the kitchen or something is lacking. He can even pour your coffee or juice for you, just ask. He is also polite and smiles a lot. There's only one small elevator in the hotel, so if you are in the 2nd or 3rd floor, get those legs going... Elevator is small, and a couple of a huge luggage is crammed. I'd stay here again, given the chance...
Nice continental breakfast. Special thanks to Harry. All staff should mirror his good work ethic!! Perfect location for business gatherings. Easy access from turnpike. Clean and spacious meeting rooms.
Staying at the Best Western for a couple days working for S.A.S.. The rooms are clean, the beds are quite nice along with the pillows (I love the pillows), And the breakfast crew is very nice. Overall I would definitely recommend this hotel to those who are coming to Fort Washington and are looking for a place to stay
Staying at the Best Western now and working at the Philadelphia Expo show for the weekend.. rooms are very nice, clean and I got a great nights sleep. The complimentary breakfast was great and the attendant Harry made our whole morning.. he was on top of everything and assisted us with every need! Thanks Harry and Best Western!
First off, I love the fact when you call this hotel you get a live person that answers the phone, not only that but they are very friendly and fast when making your reservation. I reserved the whirlpool/hot tub suite for my husband and I for a nice treat for Valentines Day since we both enjoy a night away and a nice hot tub. The room was set up awesome. We had our own lounge area with a sofa, table, coffee station along with a flat screen tv, then in the middle of the room was a Huge whirlpool tub with mirrors surrending us. Then next to that was our king size bed with more mirrors, a nice computer table and chair, dresser with lots of drawers, another flat screen tv, refrigerator, microwave, and safe. There was a nice size bathroom with a dressing room area with sink outside the bathroom which was a nice feature so their was plenty of room for us to shower and get ready not being on top of each other. Also room had a wet bar area next to tub with sink with plenty of towels. Hot tub was big enough for my husband and I to be comfortable laying down side by side with plenty of leg room. Jets were great. They has an awesome breakfast buffet the next morning with great staff members. Would like to give an extra Thank You to Harry, a very kind gentlemen who works the morning breakfast for helping me with everything I needed. Not only did he remain open for me (I was 8 mins late) he helped me by making me a tray so I could carry everything I needed up to my room, he also got me my juice, butter, syrup, fruit, and walked me to the elevator to be my extra hand by pressing the floor button so i wouldn't disturbed my trays of food. He was the man! Thank you again to everyone at the Best Western Ft. Washington Inn for making my stay so enjoyable that I can't wait to go back again!! I would give them 10 stars ????????????????????
I chose this hotel because I knew it would be inexpensive, but I was pleasantly surprised by the nice quality of the rooms. The rooms are comfortable and have large refrigerators and microwaves in the rooms. The furniture is older style, but everything worked well and was clean and comfortable. The breakfast is listed as continental, but they have hot foods (scrambled eggs and sausage or bacon) as well as pancakes. The food was very good and the breakfast area is very clean and well maintained and stocked by Harry. He greets everyone each morning with a smile and takes care of your every need. He made the morning breakfast a pleasure with his kindness and cheerful attitude. He is very hard working to make sure you have a great breakfast experience. Another great hotel staff member was Sy, who worked the front desk for the midnight shift. He is great at his job and went above and beyond to make sure I received the best rate when I showed up at 3 am with no reservation. He helped me with my travel needs and made me feel welcome each morning I saw him, even opening the doors for me as I left. The staff at this hotel make it a wonderful place to stay. Will stay here again when in the area.
Had a great stay at this Best Western. Staff were friendly, courteous and helpful. Room itself was spotless and roomy. Shower area was clean - obviously a well maintained hotel. Breakfast was awesome, along with the regular items, they provided scrambled eggs / bacon / sausage - great way to start the day. Will definitely stay here again,
This is a very nice hotel. The staff was unusually friendly and warm and it was amazing to have an Indian restaurant. The beds and pillows were super comfy, check-in and -out were fast and easy. Breakfast was good enough; ice from the ice machines was a bit sparse one night. Everything else was great.
We booked this based on the positive reviews but that was not our experience. No shower curtain and the one later provided was too small causing water all over the floor, bed sheets were not clean at check-in, No sound on the TV for 3 days, Some days we had no towels in the room and hotel staff said come down to lobby to get them instead of delivering them - right. Never got the extra pillows we asked for, Friends in the room next door has similar issues and they were missing their room safe. Breakfast options just doesn't match up with the other hotel comparable hotel chains but the breakfast staff worked very hard at ensuring our satisfaction with what he had to work with. Overall this is not the experience I've had at other BW's.
the innkeeper and staff seem to care about the inn and you. Harry keeps the breakfast room quite clean and well stocked, and the breakfast room actually has adequate room and privacy. You are treated as if your satisfaction matters. When I visit Philadelphia again I will try to stay there - I did not get to try their Indian Restaurant but it looks fascinating.
Best place to stay in Philly that's not in Philly - 309 is beautiful now and I've been staying since before 309 was beautiful - Close to Broad and 76 and not far from 95 or the Penn Turnpike - Just do me one favor - Get Rid of the Pancake Machine (the worst) Bring back Waffles
Best Western Fort Washington is located 5 miles just outside northern Philly - The rooms are decently sized, clean, and comfortable - Flat screen TV, coffee maker, fridge , internet, ironing board , hair dryer and comfortable bed - The heating system , water pressure and water temperature were on the money - The hotel has two restaurants on the property with room service - I was pretty happy with the pricing and what we got for the money - I was a little disappointed that I couldn't find a working ice machine, but room service eventually hooked us up. I will be using this hotel in the future ..
Mold in bath tube, Facility older and heavily worn, Clientele rough and noisy. Included Breakfast average, powder eggs, very few Danish, no wffels Reception Area Stark. Front desk curt. Did nothing to respond to report of mold in bathroom.
Really enjoyed our suite. Very, very nice! The desk staff was incredibly professional and helpful. Especially enjoyed Harry in the breakfast room. Got that place running in tip-top shape. Service with a beautiful smile. :)
It was very hard to find this hotel compared to the other 5 or so also situated around the same intersection. Signage is poor, but hotel is fine. Clean, not elaborate, but fills your needs. You can hear traffic through the windows and also some noise from rooms above, so walls are rather thin.
Everything was dirty, in shambles, and customer service was mediocre at best. Room attempt #1: non-smoking room smelled of intense smoke. Room attempt #2: not the room I booked (no kitchenette) and the front of the cupboards were falling off with nails exposed. Room attempt #3: dishes were stuck together, no soap to wash them, moldy fridge, and the toilet had a grey film on top of the water. I had seen enough. I checked out after 2 hours and a small amount of tears (I really considered trying to make this work). A polite email to BW Customer Service and two days later, I was refunded for all 4 nights I didn't stay. There's a great Holiday Inn Express down the street that costs less! Don't torture yourself by staying here.
Selected due to proximity to college. Sort of in a business park out of the way of everything in its own nook, secluded. Was very quiet, beds very very firm. Clean but could have been cleaner, bathroom had privious guess hairs in tub. Curtain tops dusty...
The title sums it up but the staff was more than polite. They know how to smile and share a couple of nice words when you walk by or need something. Courtesy and service is what sets anything apart. These are good people. The man who oversees the breakfast, Harry, was very polite as were the house keepers. I would stay here again.
Rooms were clean and location was good for our needs . Safe parking for our car and well lite lot. We would stay here again if back in Philadelphia. I am a big fan of best western generally good value.
I stayed 7 days. Excellent housekeeping throughout. One of the best breakfast rooms I have seen at Best Westerns with a very pleasant attendant. Plenty of parking and easy access to nearby major highways, and quite a few restaurants in the surrounding area too. The desk staff, especially Judy Braun, is always helpful and remembers me every time I return to the area. I am glad to stay there when I visit.
Bad customer service and shower leaked don't stay here i never will again! I usually stay Best Western but not this location. Harry in breakfast was wonderful! The food was hot and delicious though!!!!
Check in Friday night check out Monday morning breakfast bar clean well-stocked fresh tasty Harry does a great job handling it solo with all types of people small crowds to large crowds. Hotel was charming and quaint. Denise and Tai
Aside from the covers having a stain on it. My stay was over all relaxing as per ususal. Nice location to go to get away, not too close to anything and very quite. Highly recommend this location to anyone
We had a nice stay at the Best Western. Our room was nice and quiet. The breakfast bar is perfect. Harry runs it well. He keeps it well stocked. The tables were quickly cleared and cleaned. It was a friendly and comfortable experience to eat there. Our only problem was that a drier didn't work, and was not marked as such.
Hotel is slightly aged...amenities are pretty good but some what out of access to dining options. Location access off freeway is good but only if your using turnpike. Reasonable access to downtown but slow going. Room was comfortable but elevator is slow and hallways are somewhat dark.
The hotel was clean, and inviting. Some things are a little dated but overall a comfortable stay. The continental breakfast offered hot items, not just your basic pastry and coffee. Stayed here for the Harry Potter weekend at Chestnut Hill and used the Septa to get around.
This place needs a major remodel. There has been no attention to even making the place look as though its clean. The bathrooms were the worst. Grout and dirt in the tiles, the tub floor looked was filthy. The towels were cheap, side of the highway thin and cheap. The staff is marginally friendly and professional. The snack area of water and sodas etc, ran out of merchandise. Poor hotel.
I was here with my friends on holliday and we were verry satisfied. The room was clean, people in reception friendly. Harry the server at the breakfast bar was very nice and helpful. I would definitely recommend this hotel. LucyK
The room was clean, toilet seat was stained but clean, coffee pot in the room did not work. But over all for the price, it was clean and quiet. I would stay there again. If you are looking for a clean place to sleep this is it. The beds are hard but when you tired, it didn't matter. Take in mind we had a king size suit, all beds may not have been that hard.
I came here for my PA school interview and really needed a boost of energy in the morning. Harry the server at the breakfast bar was very nice and helpful. I would definitely recommend this hotal and would come back again.
We called the hotel and spoke to Chivim, who arranged to have the contents of the safe brought down to the front desk safe. When we picked everything up the next day it was all there! Yikes! Thank you so much for your honesty. You made a very stressful realization become a wonderful experience. Thanks again!
This hotel is convenient to turnpike and highways. Quiet at night. Appliances in good working order and clean. There is an Indian restaurant which is absolutely excellent attach.ed. I recommend it highly
If you're looking for a stress free, clean, friendly, comfortable stay, DO NOT STAY HERE. The only presence of a manager is his business card and name on display but nowhere to be seen or heard. The front desk will do everything in their power to take money from you but not provide the level of service you would expect from a Best Western hotel. They are only using the name at this establishment to draw people into staying here but it is not the type of experience you would expect. I wouldn't be surprised if it eventually gets shut down. I've stayed in many hotels before and this by far has been the absolute worst experience of my life and I will most definitely not be returning again. I'm leaving this review as a warning.. the price is good but that's the only thing that is and be prepared to be surprised if you even get your money's worth!
Facilities were decent. Room was clean and the bed was comfortable. Breakfast was good and the eating area was spotless due to Harry's diligence. Harry catered to everyone's needs. Staff was friendly and helpful and check-out was easy. The only negative I have is that the deodorizer they use in the rooms is very strong and I found it offensive. I would definitely recommend this hotel to travelers.
we stayed here for a local dog show. We like that they allow dogs to stay and they are very accommodating, the room rates are reasonable and the location is easy to access off the turnpike and to other areas. Room is clean & comfortable.
Room smelled horrible, I was gagging. I had to be moved to another room and although it smelled better (not good however) the room was a mess. The shower curtains, lamps and drawers were all broken. The rooms are old and not taken care of. It is the worse hotel experience that I have ever had.
Facilities were good, breakfast was better than expected. Sunday morning the hallways, elevator, lobby were dirty, but probably because of sloppy customers. I didn't notice same on Saturday afternoon, and from sounds in hallway at night and groups in morning, I think there were a lot of partiers. With respect to room, was clean & comfortable, but slight musty smell. The hallways were heavily treated with deodorizer, and someone on hall was smoking in his/her room. Other family members in room two floors down had no complaints.
I booked a room for my daughter and a few friends to hang out for her birthday. Check-in was fast and easy. The room was clean and well stocked with towels and even an extra pillow and blanket. The bed was a little too firm for my liking but it was clean. The pool was open for the kids to swim. The have breakfast from 6:30am to 9:30am. Harry in the breakfast room catered to every guest including us. He made us turkey sausage since the breakfast buffet didn't have it. He was very nice and made us feel comfortable. There was plenty of parking and even though the hotel was well booked, it was quiet. Check-out was easy and all the staff seemed friendly.
Figured it wasn't as bad as the other reviewers have stated....it wasn't that great either. Stayed one night- Saturday to Sunday. Son was visiting a college in Radnor- this Best Western was close by. Booked the room on their website. Arrived but received a smoking room, thought I reserved a non-smoking room. Well its only one night -right. Bathroom floor hadn't been cleaned (hair and dirt), but the beds are comfortable. Subway in front of hotel was closed when we arrived, front desk gave us a menu for a local takeout place- food was so-so (wouldn't order from them again if I was in the area). Breakfast next morning- horrible- eggs where one large clump. I only had tea and decided to grab breakfast on the road. Over all- if only staying one night- it's not bad- just make other arrangements for breakfast.
My family and I left Miami òn Wednesday 6th September at 10pm fleeing from hurricane Irma.we rented a car and started to drive hoping to reach New Jersey. After driving for over 24 hours we decided to check into Best Western hotel at 1.30am friday morning. When we arrived the hotel was under repairs, we paid and got room (345)the room was clean and we showered and jump into bed, the bed was super comfortable, breakfast was okay. I will recommend this hotel for short stay, the price was worth it.
A few unfortunate items: confusion on the type of room we booked through Hotels.com. We ended up in an accessible room that needed updating and the bathroom needed some attention. Water leaked beyond the drain for the accessible shower. Upon check in I was told that the rate to book directly with the hotel was approximately $20 / night cheaper and they offered a veteran's discount not available through Hotels.com. The breakfast was ok... the best part was Harry taking care of refilling / service for the breakfast. Atmosphere of the staff was stressed and full of tension. Unfortunately, we won't be recommending this location. Room for improvement.
I was recently in Fort Washington for a very sad occasion and the care from the staff made my stay comfortable. I have stayed here in the past as well. The attached restaurant is wonderful! I posted pictures on my FB page about the beautiful landscaping/flowers at this location.
We stayed one night at the Best Western, we enjoyed our stay, nice room, good breakfast, quiet, plenty of parking, near Fort Washington State Park, the pool looked nice but we didn't use it, very clean, I highly recommend staying at this hotel
Harry, the attendant at the breakfast room provided excellent service ,replenishing food and assisting guests in serving their breakfast. He was very quick to bus the tables so new guests could find clean tables for their breakfast. Alwas a friendly happy smile. Rest of the hotel was clean and the desk staff helpful with directions.
We stayed just for one night, using the room only to sleep. Check in (in the evening) could have been faster. Parking was free, which was a plus. Bfast which was pretty basic was included in the price.
Although I would have liked English muffins and flavored yogurt as menu options, the breakfast of scrambled eggs and bacon (or sausages, depending on the day) was good. The main bedroom was roomy, although the bathroom was pretty tight quarters. I didn't like the sink and its cabinet so close to the toilet (not much room to maneuver, but then again I'm a 6'2" and 260 lb guy). I noticed crumbs on the floor (I'm assuming I put them there the first day) didn't seem to get vacuumed up the next two days my wife and I stayed there. Overall, the room felt clean. The shower head had a perfect spray (one of my pet peeves is less than adequate shower heads). The motel was a bit out of the way, but the price was cheaper than other motels in the area, so it was worth it.
Took 20 minutes to check in late at night. Seemed to be problem applying gift cards, then not done correctly, but applied at check out. No mention of why the delay, and never asked. Room was spacious and comfortable with full kitchen. However saw burners on stove that needed cleaning. Also found used wash cloth over shower rack, and seemed bathroom not cleaned thoroughly. Location is excellent off highway in commercial park. I probably would stay there again, for the money.
Excellent service, great location. Overall great experience. Continental breakfast with excellent and attentive service. The room was clean and the king size bed was comfortable. Friendly and professional staff.
i enjoyed my stay, the hotel was nice and located in a quiet vicinity. the front desk staff were courteous and Harry was very helpful and nice, the breakfast was awesome. he went the extra mile to make us bacon even after 9 a.m Thanks Harry
Harry (he prepares the breakfast) is incredibly nice. He was friendly and was just overall nice to talk to. He deserves a raise. The bedroom was nice because of my very comfortable king bed. The bathroom had rust spots all over it and the toiler was weirdly too close to the bathroom counter.
Harry is so nice (He prepares breakfast) and the breakfast was so good :). This is not my first time staying here and everytime I came he was so polite and breakfast was delicious. My room was nice and clean . I recommend this hotel .
My husband and I really enjoyed our stay. The place is really nice and the front desk ladies was very friendly. I defiantly can't for get about Harry. He is awesome and is a very friendly person. Harry was always on the job and kept the kitchen looking very clean. We will definitely be back next year.
Its a standard best western. Nothing too crazy but thats always Clean and comfortable. They left a toilet scrub brush in the bathroom sink, which i found to be very odd. However this did not impact our trip at all. The continental breakfast waa good and Harry was paeticukarky attentive and caring of his job and of guests.
I had a great night sleep here. I also meet a worker there named Harry who was very pleasant and saved me from getting coffee all over myself early in the morning. 5 stars for him! The rooms are a little outdated but most of the staff is very nice.
Stayed for 2 nights for business and brought my elderly parents to make it into a mini vaca. Was a pleasant stay, they liked the accomodations. Had requested the hotel to place us near the elevator due to mom's disability, and they did. Breakfast was served timely and plentiful. Harry was the attendant there, and did a fantastic job replenishing the food. He was very polite and attentive, and hard working. They have turkey sausage by request, just ask the attendant and they will make it for you. The rooms could use some updates, but overall everything was functional. The pool was large enough to share. There was a fitness room that had more equipment than I've seen at other hotels. Lobby has a business center if you need. It is conveniently located off the PA tpke and there is a good Indian restaurant in walking distance, and a Subway for sandwiches, in an actual repurposed subway car. Lunch buffet at the indian restaurant, Palace of Asia, is highly recommended.
Harry the breakfast guy was awesome, attentive, pleasant, very clean and on his job! I liked this hotel but a couple of issues...Only 1 treadmill worked in the fitness room and we were given a handicap for room for some reason. No tub, handicap toilet seat and a wooden sliding door for the bathroom. We certainly didn't request it. Otherwise not a bad place to stay.
Normally these hotel have good level of accommodation and service. I'm a diamond member and can see this one is no where near their standard. Very run down, rude staff at front desk who didn't even acknowledge me when i arrived. Just asked for typical items and handed me the keys. No details on what room, floor or even how to use wireless. Later when I asked for towels for the pool she just reponded it's closing soon. Well no kidding that is why I was coming for towels. The hallways smelled like major smoke even though all rooms were smoke free on our hall. Very disappointed. Wouldn't recommend this place to anyone until they get their act together like the typical Best Westerns.
Hotel offered all that we needed for our group wedding stay. It was economical and yet offered a large, clean room with a great bed. It was a bit hard to find, but once there it was centrally located. Railroad car Subway by the property was fun. Under building parking was unique, but nice to access. Let us use the breakfast area for a group lucnh - accommodating:)
I just want to take a minute to say how wonderful harry the breakfast guy is so helpful nice and just all around amazing! Also this hotel is wonderful right down to the night office guy! Room clean and nice! And everyone was so friendly
The linen had not been changed. There was dirt, urine, hair on a bed that was ready for us to use. None smoking room smelled like cigarettes and the room had not been vacuum. The carpet in the hallway needed to be shampoo.
One of the breakfast managers named Harry was really great. he was very helpful, attentive, and polite to all of our needs. Hope you all see this and that he is a great employee and asset to your staff.
Our floor smelled. Room was designated non-smoking but smelled like smoke. Towels smelled like smoke. Dog poop in lobby--Front desk people sat staring at it saying "maintenance would take care of it." Had to ask for rooms to be made up. Haven't had this bad of an experience in a long time.
I had exceptional service during my stay. I recommend staying here. Harry at the breakfast bar was excellent. He was very helpful. The room was clean and the bed was soft. Shower pressure was strong! Will be staying there again soon.
The family and I spent a weekend at this hotel. Its a great location near the interstate. It offers the standard quality of Best Western hotels. However, the breakfast bar exceeded our expectations. It included both hot and cold options along with fruit and the coffee was perfect. The breakfast manager named Harry was also very helpful and friendly. We recommend this hotels for weekend getaways to Philadelphia or Fort Washington.
Thanks to Judy and her staff who was so helpful the rooms were great , we had no problems , it was close to our venue in Philadelphia , I would definitely recommend this property to anyone , just call Judy .
The hotel is not bad, but other best western hotels are slightly better. The only on site good is Indian food, which is not exactly everyone's cup of tea. Other properties are cleaner. The front desk staff was great.
Mold in shower bed was rock hard cleaning staff didn't clean our room had to ask for the service food was decent pool was nice front desk was friendly wouldn't recommend some of our other party members were quoted suites prices and given a double room
I couldn't make it to the hotel. I called reservations to cancel. They said to call the hotel, but for over an hour they didn't answer their phone. When they called back reservations they said there was nothing they could do. I was out of luck. And out of my money, since I had prepaid. I wound up staying at a Comfort inn and paying twice.
I traveled as a chaperone on a class trip to Philadelphia with 66 people. Our rooms were clean, but the hotel was showing it's age overall. Some floors smell smokey and it appeared that some rooms were occupied as apartments. The front desk did not have our rooms positioned as we requested (chaperone rooms in between students). We were promised this and then the front desk staff said that we did not request that, *(we have the email confirmation). This will not apply to most people, but is does speak to a level of attention to detail. One person who did an outstanding job was Harry who set up the complimentary breakfast each morning. This man was polite, eager to please and was working hard to keep the place clean and well stocked. Harry also was sure to greet everyone with a "Good Morning" and a smile.
I was looking for a hotel with a reasonable price not far to Philadelphia Downtown, and I found Best Western in Fort Washington. From there, I could also go out and eat in the exclusive are of Germantown.
Non-smoking rooms are on top floor and the hallways still smell of smoke. Room is clean and acceptable. Continental breakfast merely fair with insufficient room and food if hotel is hosting a large crowd. Overall suited our purpose for a quick stop over but it is not something to rave about.
I had a business trip at a location just north of Philadelphia and instead of flying in from Indiana on my own I decided to bring my husband and two dogs and make a mini-vacation out of the trip. Pet friendly hotels are not that easy to find, especially for two dogs, one of which is an 80 pound Weimaraner. The hotel staff here have been fantastic, the hotel is very clean, the room is comfortable for all four of us, there is a hot breakfast every morning and choices at the hotel for dinner. When I come back this way for work again I'll be back!
At best, this is a three-star hotel. My wife and I are giving it three stars only because of the great employee in the breakfast room. From Friday morning through Sunday morning, this employee busted his butt to keep everything stocked, and the room clean. My wife, 24 year old son and I never saw this man stop to catch his breath. He was head and shoulders above any other employee at this hotel. The employee was so good that my son told the front desk to make sure management knew. Unfortunately, the man who checked us in late Thursday night is not the type of person you want to meeting when arriving at a hotel. This front desk clerk was so unhappy to see us despite having nothing else to do at the moment. The vibe he gave off was so bad that we hesitated to check in. Because it was past 6:00pm and our credit card was going to be charged, we proceeded with the uncomfortable check-in. We asked for a non-smoking room, but apparently the rest of the hotel is fine for cigarette smokers. When we got off of the elevator on the top floor, the hallways reeked of cigarette smoke. The smell was so intense that it was obvious that numerous people have smoked in the hallways for an extended period of time. As we exited the elevator, my wife exclaimed, “What is that smell??” It was that bad. Previous reviewers are correct about the firmness of the beds. I like a firm bed, but the beds were so stiff that I woke up in the morning with my body aching. The beds are rock hard!! In my years of travel throughout the world, I have never experienced such a hard bed. Warning: You will ‘not' be happy sleeping on this hotel's beds. The free breakfast was fine. The scrambled eggs are the typical plastic eggs you get at a cheap diner. The bacon was so thin that I could almost see through it. One has to ball up the bacon to get any taste from it. Everything is pre-packaged thus do not expect a high quality meal. The coffee is from one of the huge mass market coffee companies. This coffee lover had to go elsewhere to get his caffeine fix. If you expect the coffee in your room to be decent, it is far from it. The coffee was bitter with little taste. Your room will be dated. I have no idea of when this place was last renovated. The reviewers who have commented on the age of the décor are spot on. This “place is old and drab.” And, you can add that it is a very dark environment. We will give kudos to the housekeeping staff for a very clean room. They are also very responsive when we asked for an additional coffee in our room to start the day. (We were desperate for caffeine first thing in the morning.) The three of us and our Miniature Australian Shepherd will be making more trips to Montgomery County because of our family living there, but the Best Western Fort Washington Inn will ‘not' be where we will stay. It may be the cheapest in the area for people with dogs, but we will pay more for a better place to stay. The difference in price will be well worth not staying here again.
Sorry not a great pick. A/C not functioning and when replaced I could see why. The unit had to be as old as the hotel. Carpet worn. Ceiling leaks and stains in several places. Overall dingy and dark and just felt dirty. TV quality terrible. Beds were oh so hard and I'm guessing also as old as the hotel. The staff was nice though!
Property is handy if approaching Philly from the North. Clean basic accommodation. Attached Indian restaurant was convenient. Food filled the bill. Not much to say but that it was an average stay in an average spot.
My husband and I frequent Best Westerns for date nights and short weekender trips, this Best Western in Fort Washington was by far the WORST experience Ive had in a VERY long time. Our non smoking room was anything but... The free breakfast offered was all frozen and re heated foods the drinks were all from concentrate and sugar filled. The staff whom checked us in was rude asking my husband to "be a gentleman" cause he touched me, which Im unsure how he saw that from behind the desk.. Upon checking out we were never acknowledged due to the clerk being on her cell phone. Never again
First things first they put me in a two queen size bed room, that was not what I booked. Second when I got to the room there were rust colored stains on the sheets and the toilet would overflow, so I asked for the room I had booked with one king sized bed, it took them a moment to find me a room no big deal and they transferred me to that room. The next morning I go to eat breakfast and misplace my room key somewhere in the dinning area, I looked and looked it must have gotten thrown away. I walk up to the front desk and ask for a new key and they ask me for I.D. as if I didn't just walk past you and say good morning off the elevator going to breakfast. I go look again still can't find it go back to the front desk and the person that was there, is now no where to be found. I wait 20 mins the lovely man working the breakfast bar is now checking people out at the front (which is not his job, but he is very friendly and doing a good job helping) because the front desk personnel is still not back. He then calls the maintenance man to come open my door, I finally get into my room, I have another key in my room and try to use that key, it no longer works. I have a four night stay here and this is less than 24 hours in, I don't know what else to do but write a review.
Everything from the room, bed, shower, breakfast, location, parking was all great! Highly recommend to anyone looking to book a room. Close access to Philadelphia and yet slightly remote for a peaceful rest. I'd stay there again in a heartbeat.
Rooms are clean and large enough. Comfortable beds. Hallways smell of tobacco smoke on non-smoking floor. Hotel was fully booked and couldn't get near the in-house breakfast at 9 am on a sunday morning.
I have to rate this Best Western as "sub-par". First entering the room, I found two light fixtures with burned out light bulbs and a non functioning wall switch. Wallpaper in the room was peeling. The bathroom was small and cramped and not very practical in placement of fixtures. "Free" breakfast items were what you'd expect, but at this particular motel I found them to be of a very poor quality. My advice... skip the breakfast and just have coffee. Next time I'll stay at the Best Western in King of Prussia.
The level of customer service I received during my stay here was the worst I've ever experienced in any customer service driven environment. From beginning to end it gave me multiple headaches and my stress levels went through the roof during my stay because of all of the aggravation this staff has put me through.. filthy rooms and unfriendly staff I really wish I could say something good about my stay here but I can't. The front desk staff needs to be retrained, the housekeeping staff needs to be retrained because of the filthy room we had and the manager needs hold his staff to a higher level of expectations. This location gives a bad name to the Best Western brand.
I was there from the 21st to 24th of April 2017. The hotel was very quiet and clean. We highly recommend this hotel. Special mention to Harry, the guy who takes care of the breakfasts. He's very efficient and hard working. The stations are always full, the whole section is always super clean, he makes sure everything is always perfect. Above all, he's very friendly and smiling! De plus, Harry parle français. Je lui souhaite de passer une belle journée! Céline
Clearly an old property that has been renovated. New carpet and paint in hallways. New furniture and fixtures in rooms. Room was clean. One of the few places in the area that allows pets. They charge 15$ per night for a small pet, far less than a 75$ a night fee at another place. The bed was comfortable. Bathroom was a little small as to be expected with older properties. Plenty of parking, some actually covered on ground level underneath the hotel. Property is about 1/2 mile off a main road but easy to get to. Close to many restaurants but none in walking distance except an asian/indian place attached to the hotel and a Subway on the same lot. My only complsint was a very odd smell in the hallway. I do not know if it is related to the restaurant or not but it was not an appetizing odor. Fortunately it was not present in the room.
Staff was very present. Amenities were as described. Front desk clerk attentive. Only wish breakfast ran later as I'm a late riser but everything else was just fine. The location is perfect for a quiet getaway for self healing. It's also good for long distance driving as it's right off turnpike conveniently. In house restaurant good very tasty Indian dishes.
The breakfast provided by the hotel is amazing. There are so many choices and Harry made sure that everything was always stocked, clean, and everyone was happy. If given the chance I would definitely come stay here again.
The stay was super comfortable and clean and the breakfast was awesome! The attendant helping with breakfast (Harry) was super helpful and was pivotal in us having a great breakfast! Definitely suggest anyone who needs to stay in the area to stay here!
Harry, the nice gentleman in the dining room was amazing. He was a great help to my team and I. You can tell he genuinely enjoys his job. It was very refreshing. Best part of my stay. The food was also surprisingly good, for being free.
All of the staff here were very friendly. They are very accommodating and good at what they do. I enjoyed the breakfast that Harry prepared as well. He gave the room a friendly atmosphere. The room was nice and neat. It smelled nice, nothing was missing, and everything functioned properly.
I had a late check in. The staff was extremely friendly, helpful and personable. The room was clean and smelled clean. However, the corridor had a very strong smell of chlorine from the pool down the corridor. Thankfully, the rooms did not smell like chlorine. I was also happy that the room we stayed in did not previously have any pets stay in that room. My wife has terrible allergies.
We stay here a few times a year during holidays, and the service has always been attentive and very helpful, as we're visually impaired and occasionally need assistance. The wifi used to be unsteady on weekends, but has improved. The best thing is the Indian restaurant, Palace Of Asia, which has some of the tastiest Tandoori items in the area, and the staff is always friendly. Service can be slower when they have parties there, but most days it is fine. The beds are quite comfortable, and anytime we've had problems with items like the coffee makers, they've been resolved quickly.
Two night stay was nice. Great service, friendly staff and very clean room. It was a comfortable stay. We really enjoyed the free newspaper and FULL breakfast each morning. Restaurant onsite is a very nice touch.
We were very satisfied. The motel was clean. The staff were friendly and helpful. The rates were reasonable and included a full breakfast. There were staff available to refill the breakfast foods as needed.
I booked this property with hesitation because of a previous experience at Best Western in Annapolis. I was pleasantly surprised at how clean it was. I would recommend it to others and definitely stay here again.
I expected more from the Best Western Brand. I noticed a tampon in corner of the room by the trash can. There was another guests pants left behind. The sheets seemed not to have been cleaned from the night before, seems like someone was walking around in shoes in the bed. The towels were dingy and seemed as if they needed to be replaced. Seems these towels were being used to wipe the floors. I am over Extremely Unsatisfied with my stay at this hotel .
I was on a business trip in the area and chose this hotel based on its proximity to my destination. Nice rooms, nice staff, got in pretty late around midnight, but was on my way to the room very shortly without wait. didn't get to the breakfast so I cant comment on that.
We had a friend getting married in Fort Washington and reserved a block at this hotel for their guests. I called a good six weeks before the wedding to reserve a room for two nights; Judy is the one who made my reservation. First of all, she never put me on hold - she just put the phone on the counter and I could hear her singing and talking to herself while she typed. Secondly, she had a very difficult time understanding when we were arriving and how many nights. She finally figured out we were arriving Thursday night and checking out Saturday morning - two nights total. The wedding was Friday evening. I got a confirmation number, but no email or anything. When we arrived very late on Thursday night, the man who checked us in said there was an error and we were only booked for one night. He said the entire hotel was completely full and he didn't have any availability for Friday night, despite the parking lot being entirely empty. He said to come down in the morning and see if there was availability for Friday night. We went to our room and slept on the terrible, rock-hard bed. I woke up and showered, but there was no hot water. At this point, we decided to just forget it and booked a room at another hotel nearby for Friday night. When we came down to check out, Judy was there. She rolled her eyes when I said "there was an error in our reservation" and that we'd be checking out now. She handed me a receipt and said, "here" - no apology, no discount, no nothing. We spent $90 for less than 12 hours in a terrible, terrible hotel. As we were leaving, Judy tried to get us to tell her where we were going now - "which hotel is it? you can tell me". Our friends who stayed in the wedding block said the beds were the most awful hotel beds they'd ever slept on and that the water in the shower came out brown. Yikes.
We were in town for one night and needed a bed for the night without any thing fancy but a clean place to rest our head. Location was good for our purposes as well. I would return if we had the need. Price, location, cleanliness all fit the bill.
This hotel is very dirty. It's located off a highway. I had dog hair all over my sheets. Thankfully, I was had my own sheets. A lot of people who use it, bring their dogs with them. So do not wonder if in the middle of the night you are going to hear some barking. Very slow elevator too. Might as well take the stairs.
This motel was a great place to stay while I was on a business/pleasure trip. The staff was very knowledgeable and went out of their collective ways to make me feel like I was important. I cannot stress any stronger that I found the Best Western at Fort Washington a very (once again) enjoyable stay. I highly recommend it for anyone traveling through Pennsylvania or in that area of the state.
Nice new hotel with parking in the shade. That was helpful in the heat wave. One morning there was no hot water but it was resolved by the next day. Nice room with extra chairs for extra guests. Convenient to the highways, city, and national parks like Valley Forge.
I needed to be in the area for two weekend nights and have stayed at a nearby Days Inn in the past. I used Priceline this time and got this BW this time. I had driven by it in the past (I remembered the old railway car that is attached and used to be a restaurant - it's now a SUBWAY sandwich shop!) - but had never been inside. I arrived at midnight and was greated and given a room with a HUGE King Size bed. on 2md floor. (Room 201). it was large and quiet and I liked the fact that the air conditioning was controlled on the wall. There as a refrigeration and safe and a TV in the room. And rthe bedside lights were strong enough to read by (getting rarer lately). Breakfast was a real (nice surprise). Alol the other BW's I've stayed at had waffle makers. Here there's a neat pancake maker that pumps them out (it says "about i minute" for each but it's closer to 3 minutes. Have patience. They also have a machine that dispenses yogurt and there are dried fruits and nuts to mix in. (we;ll, there are SUPPOSED to be four things - but 3 of the containers were still empty after we arrived for breakfast) And the 2nd morning the machine sputtered more than "served" the yogurt This was one of two things that were out of supply. Note the breakfast room is small (not a big issue for me) but on Saturday and Sunday the room was only open for an hour (8:30-9:00 AM(). Shortest hours I've seen at any hotel. Depending on the rate - I would certainly stay again next year (I come to area every August for a festival). The quality is there. Only defect was the maintenance of the breakfast items.
Horrible! We were in town for a church conference. 8 rooms were paying to stay in this hotel. On Thursday morning of our stay there was ZERO hot water. Citing a gas leak, the management simply shut the hot water off with no forewarning. Upon inquiring with the manager Ravi about compensation he REFUSED to issue the group of priests a one nights compensation for the inconvenience. He did issue other guests one nights refunds. Sales Manager was passive aggressive. Guest Relations in BW corp said there was nothing they could do about the water situation or that they allow a manager to show blatant discrimination.
The over all experience was very nice , the room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The breakfast was a little challenging it was a crowded morning and the room was a bit over crowded. The breakfast was basic morning breakfast fair but it was enough to satisfy that early hunger until you could find a restaurant. The pool was clean and nice the towels were hard to come by at the pool but it was a hot day.
I stayed here for business for about 2 weeks. I'm not a picky person, so the room was acceptable, but there were definitely some things I noticed that I didn't love. Upon first entering the room, I noticed a faint but definite smell of stale cigarette smoke which lingered the entire stay. I'm a non smoker, so I can only imagine that the odor has embedded itself into the carpet and drapes. I found a dirty washcloth in the sink, and leftover trash in the trashcan. There were some other small things as well, but no deal breakers. Overall, if you're looking for a place with a bed and television, this works just fine, although it needs some serious TLC. If you want a nice hotel, look elsewhere.
The rates were very reasonable. The breakfast was very good with a good variety of choices. Fruit was fresh. Great location being close to the PA Turnpike and Rte. 309. Very good business center with 3 personal computers and access to the internet.
Friendly staff. Nice room, for the exception of the toilet. Too low to the ground and wedged between the vanity and wall. You have to play with the shower faucet to get desired temp. Breakfast was the normal eggs and sausage. Coffee machine is nice. Bed was comfortable Subway Subs on site. There is an Indian Cuisine Restaurant on site, but I did not eat there.
the complete time i was there was perfect.room was awesome clean comfortable .everyone at hotel was very nice pleasant i loved it an i will be back soon as i can.i use to stay at hampton inn .met lot of people there became friends with alot of people use to go help them out when were busy an stay there alot but had very bad experience there i was robbed there an was by an employee bc they r only people with access to romms.so i will no longer b going there.an the lady i visit works for best western now at different location an u have pool there an was so clean an comfortable .loved it.a getaway from everyone an peace an quiet.it was great will use pool an gym next time
Let me start by saying that the manager of the hotel refunded my bill so i ended up paying nothing for my stay. My bathroom was filthy. Tub shower walls and vanity/sink were dirty. The most disgusting thing was the long black hairs all over the shower walls. To add insult to injury no one was at the front desk at 7:07AM and I left at 7:25 after speaking to a friendly and helpful young woman working in the breakfast area. She was unable to check me out but promised to let management know. This hotel prominently displayed a AAA Diamond Award from 2015 and a Booking.com 8.0 also from 2015. It deserved neither based on my stay.
We stay at this Hotel every time we work in the area. The location makes it easy to get around and it is still peaceful. It has an Indian restaurant attached I hear is good if you like that type of food. There is a subway on site as well haven't tried that either. Breakfast is good usually has eggs and a breakfast meat as well.
prefer to stay next time with the family friends and surroundings, amenities were good with gym, swimming pool and friendly nature of the staff and interaction with was polite and service was good. overall good exp
Stopped here while on a road trip to Atlantic City with my fiance. Arrived at 12:30 a.m.....the night check-in clerk was courteous. Room was clean and the bed was comfy. Since it was only a one night stop enroute to our destination this is basically what we were looking for. The breakfast had the essentials and were good....hot sausages, scrambled eggs, a yogurt machine, danish/pasteries, cereal, and pancake and waffle maker. Orange juice, apple juice, and coffee too. The breakfast attendant worked reasonably hard at keeping everything stocked. The sausage and eggs tasted good, OJ was good quality "from concentrate" juice. Nothing spectacular, but it accomplished its purpose and did it well. There was one problem with our room -- one of the flourescent bulbs flickered all night. I think it was supposed to be a nightlight that was burnt out and flickered rather annoyingly. Since it was so late when we got there we didn't bother reporting it to the front desk as we just wanted to get some sleep, but when we checked out the next morning the clerk asked if everything was ok -- I told him about the problem with the bulb and he asked for the details and said he'd have somebody check it out. He also took a small amount off our bill for the inconvenience, which basically made things right in our mind. Also, the hotel had a reasonable convenient location with easy access from the highway. I'd have no reservations staying at this hotel again.
Stayed here with my mother and toddler for two nights in early July. We chose the hotel for the convenient location just of the highway, and near friends we were visiting, reasonable price, free breakfast, and pool. The hotel itself was what you would expect from a Best Western - nothing fancy, but just what we needed. Room was a good size, everything was clean, breakfast was good. What set this hotel apart was the staff. The women at the front desk were amazing. They were kind, thoughtful, and incredibly friendly to all three of us (especially my daughter) through our entire visit. From free cookies and lots of smiles, to hugs for my little one when we left, they really went above and beyond.
The reason we reserved it was last minute trip to sesame place on the recent July 4th weekend! Everything was sold out & I've always put my trust in best western! I have stayed in much nicer BW so it made me sad to have gotten the Jacuzzi room our second night stay for my husband & I. The reason was that I originally booked two standard rooms so I asked about the jacuzzi room fascinated with the idea thinking it would be the same experience. I would have just kept the standard room after we saw the set up & how some things didn't work in the room. We've stayed at others with the jetted tub & this one was horrible. There were loose knobs, it didn't even throw pressure out from some of the holes & it would turn off randomly. Then the bathtub in the bathroom was useless because once we turned it on there was barely water coming out of it. I was also very disgusted by the pool. My kids got in on Saturday afternoon then my husband went down and there were particles & things he saw from the day prior in the water. I can honestly say that the breakfast was only good the first morning we woke up & the lovely lady serving it was fantastic! Then the next morning it was a male and he wasn't even that nice! He would come & kind of slam everything that had to be refilled. It was just a mess of the weekend.
Upon arrival, the room was clean and stocked. However, there were no housekeeping services the second day of my stay - no fresh linens, cups, coffee, etc. On the first day of my stay, the internet was down, and on the second day, most of the TV channels were unavailable.
We reported that our room was not clean upon arrival (toothpick in plain sight on the floor, dirty rag on the night stand). We went out and the room was still dirty when we came back hours later. Any staff member could have vacuumed and removed the rag. Not doing so said to us that we did not matter. Our party had 2 rooms. We will not be staying here again.
This hotel could be better maintained and more clean. Our toilet in the room was broken and when flushed, took forever to refill. The shower went cold after 5 mins of use. We requested a room with two queen beds in advance and were assigned a room with a king bed that they refused to change and accommodate us. Upon arrival there were towels on the floor on the second floor and feces outside the elevator. The lobby and hallways smelled of very strong frangrance/perfumes (thus hiding other odors ?)
Very excellent stay. Good breakfast. Samita checked us in , very helpful & pleasant. Samita made our visit very enjoyable. Good bed. Location made easy travel to Hershey, Phill, Amish country. Good playhouse at Ambler. Easy to go & come from airport.
Pet friendly hotel with onsite laundry, I would check bed sheets for pet hair, as I had an issue. Bottom sheet had animal hair on it. If you have pet hair allergies as I do, it could be a serious issue. Management resolved the issue and I enjoyed the remainder of my stay.
I know the hotel (and all in the area) were booked but there is absolutely no way to keep the hallway noise out of the room. I requested a quiet room and was given the room right next to the elevator and ice machine so basically the noisiest location possible. The bed and main area seemed clean but the bathroom was not at all clean. The room was handicapped accessible with a roll in shower but it was not properly constructed and water ran out of the shower, across the bathroom and out of the bathroom to soak the room carpet.
Every time I've stayed here, the staff has always been very helpful. I'm visually impaired and my wife is blind, so occasionally we need a little help with breakfast or the restaurant buffet, and the waiters are really attentive. My only disappointments are that sometimes the Wifi Internet is very slow, and the Indian buffet doesn't always stay open on holidays when they say they'll be open. The food there is really good!
Hotel is pet friendly but they keep the pet rooms on the top floor so people who have allergies should be OK staying here as long as they don't have a room on top floor. The pet surcharge is reasonable.
Very gracious staff. Very nice rooms. Noise was not a problem at all. Safe area. The king suite was ideal for a friend and myself. It was almost like having two separate rooms and the fold-out sofa was very comfortable.
While the bed was, for me, rock hard and I didn't get a restful sleep, the staff was outstanding when dealing with problems. We were first assigned a room that had a terrible smell in it, and they kindly changed things up for us. Breakfast provided was ok, lots of instant things, and fruit, fruit juice, coffee, tea, scrambled eggs (from a bag), sausage, pancakes, yogurt (from a machine which was surprisingly good). The layout of the breakfast area was somewhat confusing. Good to go to if you simply want an inexpensive stay without a lot of fluff.
just had to see an old friend and attend a family affair, had a best western $25 reward and chose Fort Washington as it was best located to visit both needs. Very nice place, didn't get to enjoy the services offered but hey the room was great.
We have stayed at a lot of Best Westerns, and while this one was Ok, it wasn't great. Old and not very clean. The door on the cupboard that enclosed the fridge was off the hinges, tile coming off the walls in the bathroom. It was also small, and the bathroom even smaller. While it was OK, just not the best. The people that worked there were all very nice and helpful however.
Let me start off by saying that the hotel room itself was large and clean without any bugs. The comforter did have large yellow stains all along the top which I am hoping was coffee, but I removed from the bed just incase- which only left me with a sheet to sleep with. The halls were musty smelling, but the room both smelled and looked clean. The staff, however is quite incompetent. I made 4 separate phone calls to confirm my room rate because my online account and email confirmation had a different price than was discussed when booking over the phone. 3 different people on the phone confirmed a lower price than my written confirmations. All of the agents I spoke with were clearly not trained in how to talk to customers (please, thank you, and common manners were non-existed with these reps) but they were OK. The day of arrival I called again because of all the confusion and spoke with an awful, rude, agent- this girl should be fired!! She not only was rude and had no time for my questions, but she hung up on me. When I called back she was even worse and implied I was stupid and could not do math. I wish I could have understood her name because she needs to be reported and also some serious training. Overall, if I had to stay here again, I would but I strongly suggest management have long training sessions on how customers should be treated. I have worked in two very nice hotels with very prestigious names and had I ever spoken to a customer that way I would have been retrained and then fired or made to work a job where I had NO customer interaction ever if I was unable to act appropriately to other human beings, not to mention paying customers.
Best Western was very accommodating for me and my mom as we received handicap room. They made it easy for us since we had plumbing problem at home and need to leave home for a few days. Thanks for keeping a place for us to stay for our problem at home and thanks for be a great place to stay for disabled people. Nice staff. Just the beds were uncomfortable for people with back and arthritis issues. Don't like firm beds. Hope to see Sleep Number Beds. Loved the Subway next to the hotel.
I was disappointed by my recent stay at the Fort Washington Inn. The hotel staff did not seek to locate my room in a quiet area so I was disturbed by the elevator and nearby young Prom kids. The hotel was not crowded so I blame the staff for their lack of consideration for travelers who need a restful stop during a long car ride. The breakfast array and coffee left a lot to be desired in terms of food quality and temperature. I have been pleased by other Best Western hotels; but this location left a "Less Western" impression and I will not return.
This hotel was a pleasant surprise. It had everything you might need on a social or business trip. Microwave, coffee machine, safe, desk, enough storage space, good AC, and free breakfast that was not just a " continental breakfast" . The staff goes out of their way to assist you.
Check in was fast and easy. Location was good. Room was nice; included safe, microwave, frig, iron and ironing board. Hotel has continental breakfast, but we didn't get a chance to eat there. I would stay again.
The hotel needs a lot of work. The hallways were loud and contained the smell of smoke. The television in the room did not work properly. The closet in our room was hanging off its hinges. Other than proximity to the event we were in town for, the hotel did not meet expectations.
The hotel is somewhat decent, although there was a smoky smell in our room and the breakfast food was lukewarm. But the great thing is that they have a terrific Indian restaurant on premises. It is kind of worth it to stay here just for that!
Check in was fast and easy. Room was clean. Water in shower was hard to manage and shower head leaked. We did not try the continental breakfast. We only stayed one night. Would probably stay there again if in that area.
Had trouble with the room safe, so we were moved. Second room's closet door was off the track otherwise it was a clean and comfortable stay. Staff was accommodating and polite. Plenty of parking and decent breakfast.
I found this hotel to be great. Good service and friendly staff. The internet was a little slow and kept getting kicked off but we didn't go there for the internet. Rooms clean and comfortable. Will definatly stay there again when we go back to the Penn Relays. Only 40 min from University of Pennsylvania
We drove up from Northern Viginia to visit family. The location of this Best Western gave us easy access to the interstate and our family. Route 309 offers various dining options within 5 to 15 minute drive. Based on other Trip Advisor reviews, we specified we wanted a "non-pet, non-smoking room" away from the elevator and ice machine and checked the room as suggested. We found everything satisfactory: the bathroom clean and the beds and pillows comfortable. This is an older hotel, privately owned. It has quite a bit of covered parking and the grounds are nicely maintained. The complimentary breakfast? However, was below average. The boiled eggs were old, bacon looked re-heated. I grabbed an apple and peanut butter. There were cereals, muffins, bagels, yogurt, coffee and juice. I give it 3.5 stars for friendly staff, price, convenience and cleanliness of the rooms.
Need good, clean accommodations? The Best Western in Ft. Washington is a good value. It is close to all your needs when traveling. It is very close to the Chestnut Hill section of Philadelphia, which is a beautiful area. The staff are extremely helpful and professional.
It was a pleasant stay at this best western. The staff was very helpful it getting checked in and out. Great smiles. The area around the hotel to do things was close. I would recommend this hotel to all business travelers.
We stayed for one night only since it was conveniently located and close to Bryn Athyn and Philadelphia Zoo. We checked in, got our keycards and went to out room. One of the keycards was not programmed so my partner went to the front desk and informed the staff of this. My partner said that staff did not apologize and just gave him another one. Besides that, the room was clean, king bed, tv was working. Room had a refrigerator, microwave and safe. In the bathroom, there was shampoo and conditioner, soap no body lotion. Breakfast: service from 6:30-9:30a.m. it had coffee, tea, cereal, sausage, eggs and hard boiled eggs, yogurt, toast, pancakes. Coffee and tea 24 hours. There is a subway and Palace of Asia Indian Food located right in the hotel. It was a good price, perfect for our needs.
Excellent quality for the money, room was clean and decor was up to date and attractive. Morning breakfast was ample and I like that breakfast went to 9:30 am, which is good for late risers. I definitely recommend Best Western Fort Washington Inn!
I took my wife to Philadelphia my Hometown to explore and give her the full experience of the city. This was located a reasonable ride away. We had great service and a great clean room. For what we paid we got above and beyond. would definitely stay again!
Quiet, clean and convenient to Philly. While I chose this hotel for its closeness to my friend's house, it was a pretty quick drive to downtown. The hotel staff is very friendly and responsive. Also, the hot gets hot and the towels are decent.
I had to book a hotel in the Ft. Washington area for a quick overnight on a Saturday into Sunday. This hotel seemed to have the most amenities for the lowest price. It was located within a few miles of my event - so I booked a room with 2 Queens for the night. Location is excellent - with quick access from the PA Turnpike. Finding it without GPS may have been challenging - but I got there quickly and found plentiful parking and friendly staff at the desk. The hotel is large. This is an older hotel - and it is showing its age. The decor is dated - and needs a facelift. This hotel is a franchise - and privately owned and operated. It is not likely it will be updated in the immediate future. With that said - the facilities were reasonably clean - and staff helpful. The rooms too were clean - including the bathrooms. Breakfast is served in a separate dining room with seating off the main lobby. Although not an eloborate spread - it is adequate - and included with your room charge. Though it did not formally open until 7:30 am - coffee was served well before that - and once again the front desk staff was friendly and helpful. The room we were assigned smelled of smoke. Though masked with Fabreeze - it was still obvious that this was not a non-smoking facility. We were too tired to go down to ask for another room - and lived with the issue. It did not affect my sleep or comfort - but you should ask for a Non-smoking room - or check to see if your particular assigned room is suitable. I do not mean to disparage this hotel - my overall experience was not bad. The price was right - and the environment friendly. This is a good example of "You get what you pay for" - so be aware that this is not necessarily a bargain - but an economy hotel in an area of much more expensive choices. Will I go back? I may.... But I also may consider paying a bit more for a company owned and operated chain that is a bit brighter and updated.
My husband and I wanted to just get away for a night and we stayed here. The rooms were nice and clean the breakfast was decent the next day. Very cute little town close by with nice restaurants. Do not expect 5 start service but nice enough to get away for a weekend.
We wanted to have a date night & heard the restaurant was quite good. We arrive, promptly seated and served our drinks & ordered duck ala orange. Sounded good on menu but what came was duck drowned in brown beef gravy which we sent back and 15 minutes later the same duck came out with brown gravy. Now we had waited over an hour for our meal so we asked for our check paid for the drinks and left. I am sure the hotel is good but the restaurant isn't capable of a good meal other than American standard fare. Thankfully the Mickey D's in Dresher was still open and a Big Mac never tasted so good. The chef needs to go back to school.
We love staying at this place. The gorgeous gardens out front look like someone loves it. The people at the front desk are warm and friendly. The connected Indian restaurant is first rate (and this is from someone who knows). The rooms are clean, spacious and comfy. It is a Best Western in a strip mall of hotels, but it is one of the easiest and nicest places I have found. I'll be back.
Great for business trip would be good in summer with kids for the pool close to many things. Close to hospitals, Philly and Moss rehab. Very quiet for being so close to the 'turnpike. Comfortable beds and clean room. They were renovating the lobby so that will look better when they are finished.
I had a nice stay at the hotel. It is an average hotel with the basic features. Some updates, and a little cleanliness could be done. I was staying at the hotel for work. I don't know if I would, if it would have been for pleasure. The beds were fairly comfortable. overall I had a good stay.
The hotel was clean, the staff was friendly and most important, the hotel was quiet and peaceful. The parking was ample and the hotel was located in a safe, well lit area. The hetel is close to th highway as well as restaurants and banks.
Receptionist was friendly, honest, but lacking of professionalizm. Breakfast was normal. Room was wonderful, fantastic. Location was for me wonderful, as only 1 km far from our potential customer's office, but for others, it seems slightly far from Phillys downtown.
This property has one of the nicest staffs that I have dealt with. All very professional friendly and helpful. The property itself is a bit tired. The rooms are quite dated there is a serious mold problem in the hotel. The lobby is clean, with three terminals in the business center. Typical best Western breakfast. Although they tend to keep everything under stopped but to refresh it regularly. This gives the breakfast a much cheaper feel. The halls were quiet. And there is plenty of parking. Most important at this hotel make sure your room door shots. Many of the doors do not shut all the way leaving them open or unsecured
Hotel is fine except the odor. If you don't like the strong smell of curry, I would suggest you stay elsewhere. It is attached to an Indian restaurant and that is all you can smell as soon as you walk in. The rooms are not as bad as the halls and lobby but still have an odor. Other than being dated and needing repair, it is relatively clean and breakfast is mildly adequate.
The hotel is clean and nice enough. There is an Indian food restaurant attached to the hotel that makes the whole place smell like curry. I stayed here due to its location to the customers business and lack of other close options.
The management and staff were great. Very organized and helpful - can't say enough about how well we were treated. The breakfast was great as well. Overall it was a excellent visit. I recommended it to another team and they are using it as well. The Subway located on the property was a nice bonus.
Stayed here while on a over night trip to Philly with my husband. Room was big, had a sitting room with an extra TV with a pull out sofa if needed. Room was clean, bed was comfy, and the staff was nice.
I wish I could write a better review, because manager Judy was very helpful on the phone when making the reservation, and gave us a great price for ourselves and two other couples we were meeting there. However, as a Platinum Best Western Rewards member I should have found two bottles of water in my room. This became very important as the hotel was packed with people and dogs, as apparently there were five dog shows going on that weekend in the area. When I asked Judy about the water, she told me that they don't do that at their hotel, they give better rates. Honestly, two bottles of water? And this IS one of the Platinum member perks. So I ended up buying a bottle of water from their cooler, and must have gotten the last one, because when I tried to buy one the next day they were sold out and didn't know when they were getting more. The toilet in our room did not flush properly. The maintenance guy did arrive later to fix it. However, we discovered later that evening that it now ran constantly. It took about 3 phone calls to get him back up there to fix it. He then said he was going to have to take it apart to fix it, so would do that after we checked out. We did have to call the desk three times: once for people partying in the room next to us, and twice about dogs left alone in a room down the hall who were barking and yipping. Desk staff did respond in a timely manner. I must say that the desk staff at this hotel were not the friendliest or most helpful that I've encountered in a BW stay. Otherwise the hotel was clean and the room was nice, the breakfast was good and there was plenty to eat.
The price is good, but the hotel needs to be updated. The rooms are showing wear on the furniture with lots of scraps and dents. There needs to be better lighting in the rooms and although there have been some changes, old switches are still in place (there was a heating light in the bathroom which has been removed but the switch is still on the wall). The staff is very nice!
Stayed at this property outside of Philadelphia because the hotel rates in Phillie were exorbitant. This was booked through Costco at a modest savings. The hotel is uncommonly pleasant for a budget facility. The high-speed internet was reliable but not especially fast. The room refrigerator was stunning in its cleanliness. The complimentary breakfast was merely OK, but at that price, one cannot complain. Overall, this was the best Best Western I've been to (and I've stayed at several!)
Visiting family in the area. Hotel was easy to find, just a few minutes from exit. Desk staff was very friendly and helpful. The woman who takes care of the breakfast area made sure everything was working and well stocked. Room was very clean. TV could use a few more station options. Internet worked well. Hot water was much too hot and bathroom fixtures could be updated. The fan was always on when the light was on so it was quite noisy. Overall a good value.
We found this place through Costco and got a very nice price, which was appealing for this quick jaunt. I was delighted with every aspect of our stay. The room was very large with king sized bed with side tables, a table with two chairs, desk and desk chair, large bureau, mod large refrig, microwave and alot of floor space - something that I've really missed in the last bunch of hotels we have stayed in this year. And it is sooo clean. Like sparkling clean. Maybe the best part is that it is physically attached to a top rate Indian restaurant. I am a demanding consumer and the quality of these Indian dishes was superb. I was pleased, as I was leaving, to see posts from local papers showing that many other restaurant reviewers concurred with my assessment. This place is great. Oh, and there is also a Subway beside the Indian Restaurant. And the flower beds are gorgeous. There is even a beautiful gazebo with benches, surrounded by botany. This place feels like it is valued by its owners and I as a customer appreciate your efforts.
For an quick overnight stay I would stay here again for the lower cost. It wasn't the nicest hotel in Fort Washington. Actually prefer another chain around the corner but this was doable. Older hotel and not modern decor.
I very highly recommend this lodge to anyone interested in an excellent experience. We enjoyed our stay here as this s the second time in five months that we have used this same location an will definitely continue to stay here each tie we visit our family.
We stayed at this hotel for one night and had a very pleasant experience. The room was lovely, very comfortable and clean. The in-room internet was FAST and easy to connect to. The breakfast provided many options in a comfortable setting. Staff was helpful, friendly and pleasant. Great place to stay!
I wasn't given the room I booked online, but decided to let that go and take the room we were given. We become extremely upset once we went to bed because the bed was the hardest bed I've ever slept on in my life!!! It felt like we were sleeping on the floor with just a blanket. My husband and I awoke the next morning with severe back pain. We wanted a relaxing night in a hotel but left with neck and back pains that we didn't arrive with.
I stayed at the Best Western for 4 nights in early September 2015. Normally I stay at a Holiday Inn nearer to the Fort Washington train station, but it was closed for renovations this time. Overall, I found this to be a clean, well run hotel. My room, which had 2 beds, was comfortable, with nice bedding (clean and new), plenty of plug-ins to charge my devices, a nice TV, and a coffee maker as well as refrigerator. The bathroom toilet paper dispenser was one of those frustrating ones that are stingy with the paper...you can pull out one or two sheets before it breaks...and the bathroom was kind of small, but those were not show-stoppers for me. The breakfast room was well-stocked and a very nice young man kept it very clean and fully stocked. I do have to say that sometimes the front office staff were not too friendly. Not unfriendly, but not exactly a welcoming look on their face. Sometimes they would just stare at you as you walked in, and sometimes, they would not look up from the computer once. The parking was plentiful and the location is good with easy access to the Pennsylvania Turnpike, the Blue Route and the 309 Expressway. I didn't have a chance to try the Indian restaurant or Subway attached to the hotel, but maybe next time!
We did have to switch rooms after 1 night because the bed was way too hard. New mattress was solid. Just couldn't do it. The staff was very accommodating in changing our room, and we slept much better for the next 2 nights. Location is only a little off the highway.
The Motel was clean and had a swimming pool. Breakfast was good and had a good variety of options. The bed was quite firm and very comfortable. Convenient to the PA turnpike. Staff pleasant, neatly dressed and helpful.
This is a fairly nice hotel, and the staff really helped us out when we needed to iron out a few issues that came up. Location was quiet, and breakfast was pretty good. Overall I really enjoyed my stay.
