« Nice Hotel, Great Management »

A nice place to stay on a business trip. They were busy on the phones when I booked, so the manager was the one who assisted me, and she was very helpful (answered all my questions, got me a nice room). The hotel itself was nice, and I liked my room (I did get one of the larger KING bed rooms).

    « Business Trip »

Great facility and staff was very nice. Tavern has wonderful food. Beds were average and the decor is a little old but extremely clean and comfortable. I was happy with the stay. A was in meetings so I didn't have a lot of time to explore.

    « travel »

When we stay in Bozeman we alway's like to stay at the Gran Tree. It is familiar to us, we like amenities it has to offer us. We alway's try to get the same room and the staff does what they can to accomadate us. We do appreciate that.

    « Good hotel but! »

Hotel was great and restaurants had good food. Pricey but good. We stay at bw's when we can. This hotel was the highest priced one on our trip. With no breakfast included. I cannot believe this. We traveled from the east coast and stayed 6 nights. This hotel was great but price with no breakfast is ridiculous. Wake up please. Thanks

    « Business Event »

Great location for a small- medium conference, very attentive staff and a nice casual atmosphere. The conference rooms were a nice size. The hotel is located near major roadways making access easy. Overall, the hotel met and exceeded expectations for the price of an evenings stay.

    « Nice »

It was better than the Green Tree Hampton Inn for quality of room comfort and less expensive. The location was excellent right off the freeway and close to Walmart, gas stations and the quietness in the rooms. It was very clean and the cleaning people were very nice and helpful.

« Home away from Home »

I had a very enjoyable stay during a business class. The class was at this hotel. Everything I needed was at this location. The staff was friendly, The rooms were clean. And the food was delicious. I was pleasantly surprise with the two vouchers I found tucked in with my room key. One was for a buy one drink get the second one free and the other was for a buy one City Brew specialty coffee get the other for 1/2 off. I would highly recommend Best Western Plus Gran Tree Inn in Bozeman for family or business stays.

    « BW Plus »

This hotel was a good stay. There is a restaurant on the bottom floor and the staff is always friendly. I love the fridge and microwave in the room, that's a great plus. Location is good, There's a Walmart across the street and several restaurants close by. The room was clean and the bed was very comfortable!

    « Ahhhhh »

We arrived here, exhausted, after spending four nights in Yellowstone. The front desk person was very nice and got us checked in quickly and pleasantly. Our room was on the second floor. I don't remember seeing an elevator and so we used the stairs. I was recovering from foot surgery and have a bad back, so an elevator would have been useful. Fortunately, we had our son with us. Our room overlooked the indoor pool and I thought that the sound of kids playing there would be a problem, but that turned out to no be the case. After a peaceful, restful sleep, I had breakfast in the restaurant. The service and food were both great, providing me with a calm, healthy breakfast before getting back on the road. I would definitely recommend this hotel. The staff and accommodations were all fantastic!

« Most helpful and happy hotel staff I've seen »

They went above and beyond to accommodate every request I made, and I made several difficult requests regarding transportation. By far the best hotel experience I've had to date, I couldn't have had a successful business trip and show without this hotel and it's wonderful staff

    « Dirty Underwear/diarrhea room »

Never stay here again. Dirty underwear in the room. Poorly handled by staff by dismissive attitude and moved us into a room that smelled like diarrhea. Again, dismissive attitude from staff and no compensation was offered. Shuffled around after a long drive from dirty to stinky room. Third room was fine but very noisy. Would not recommend or return to this hotel EVER.

« Pretty good, and the restaurant makes it better »

Comfortable rooms and far enough from the interstate to be fairly quiet. What makes this hotel better than its neighbors is the attached restaurant. A nice menu, lots of TV screens and good service. The coffee in the morning was good, too. We quite enjoyed our appetizers as well.

    « A great place to stay »

Even though we were only here 1 night, our stay was great. The staff was terrific, the restaurant food and staff were excellent, the accommodations were just right, and we loved the fact there was an enclosed grass area for pets. We will definitely stay here again when driving through town.

« Three pleasant nights here »

I spent 3 nights at this hotel recently. The staff are very helpful and gracious, and the bed was comfortable with a choice of different pillows. It seemed clean though not fancy. Everything I needed was in the room and I was very comfortable. The hotel breakfast is good, but crowded mid-morning on weekends. Try to avoid using the first floor restroom. It was filthy. Likely due to the fact that the Perkins cafe is connected to the hotel and the restroom must be heavily used by those customers.

« Nice hotel, needs some attention »

Exterior door to hall had been vandalized and the lock removed. Once you got into the room, it was nice, although the A/C wouldn't cool the room to our preference (68 F). Quite busy in the lobby - there is a bar and restaurant. And no breakfast buffet was included, as we are used to having in a BW property.

    « BAADD »

Falling apart! didnt fix the room we asked them too. Poor service in the restraunt. Things are broken and no one wants to fix them either! When we called no alternative was offered with the issues we had. They didnt offer a discount or a new room to go to.

    « Great value »

My room was very clean, the lobby, hallways and restaurant were all very clean. My bed was comfortable. The price was reasonable for the area. The staff was pleasant and courteous. I will definitely stay here again. I highly recommend this hotel if you are in the area. A+ .

    « Bozeman »

The appearance of the hotel was not great and neither were the rooms. This hotel needs a face lift with more modern furniture and bathroom fixtures and in the lobby. The beds were comfortable and the food in the restaurant was superb along with the staff at the hotel.

    « Typical Best Western »

This is a typical Best Western with lousy beds and pillows. Walls appear to be "Paper Thin". The noises from outside the room were terrible most of the night. In the room, there were two electrical outlets that did not work. The single cup coffee pot did not work. At registration, I was given the key for rm 152, and soon after getting to the room, some other people opened the door and entered and saw me, and we then proceeded to the front desk to solve this issue. i then was given the key to another room 2 doors away. This really wasn't an issue in that I was alone and had only one small bag and a laptop to move. As far as this issue was concerned, it was a minor human error.

    « Beautiful hotel »

This was a lovely hotel--seemed very new and modern. We had a king suite which had a half wall that divided the room--the headboard with the king bed was against one side of the dividing wall and a pull-out sofa on rested against the other side of the wall. It gave the illusion of privacy but yet togetherness. There were TV's on each half of the room along with a fridge and microwave. Bathroom was spacious with sinks both inside the bathroom and outside the bathroom. There was a great looking pool that we did not try, nor did we use their shuttle or restaurant. The computers in the lobby area worked great for printing boarding passes. We needed an extra pillow which they brought promptly.

    « Great Service »

Was there for a conference. the hotel staff was great. The Club had good food and the service was excellent. The hotel is very clean. The rooms are updated, clean and nice.. one small complaint, the vanity was a bit small - not enough space to put your things out. But overall - the service was great!

    « Scotch Egg - worth trying »

Well run restuarant/bar. The room was clean and I reserved it the afternoon of my stay, so wound up paying a premium price due to the football game the next day. Although the room was a bit small for the money it was clean and well supplied. I would use them again.

    « Bobcat game day. »

Best Hotel in Bozeman. Great atmosphere. Rooms are getting dated, but are always clean. Lounge is second to none in Bozeman. Location is great, and food is good and quick. Our room was looking down on pool, and even the kids having fun didn't keep us awake. Front desk workers are very helpful and friendly.

« Comfortable hotel, convenient location »

We have stayed here many times, convenient location for Interstate and downtown. Rooms are clean, comfortable and quiet. Elevator can be a long way from some rooms, but several stair accesses. Restaurant/sports bar is reasonable, but lots of other choices nearby. Room rates are based on demand and are at the top end for this type of facility.

    « Conference »

I was very pleased at the comfort and cleanliness of this hotel. It was a smaller hotel than what I normally use but the staff was great and the amenities were good. I enjoyed the restaurant/bar and the room was very clean and comfortable.

« The "Best" Best Western »

I stay here annually when I'm in Bozeman for a gathering. The hotel is very nice with clean comfortable rooms. There is a nice indoor pool and atrium area to relax in. One is my favorite things about the Grantree is the restaurant attached. The Club Tavern and Grill is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. I have enjoyed many meals in The Club and the food does not disappoint. It's a bit of a sports bar so it gets very busy during games. There is also a small casino inside the hotel. There are a few rooms that face the atrium/indoor pool. It can be a little noisy outside these rooms if the pool is being used or if there is an event. There was once a banquet going on right outside my window. The front desk is more than happy to assign an outward facing room upon check in if you ask. Be sure to check out the Grantree when in Bozeman. "Best" stay you will have.

    « Conference Solitude »

We only live a little less than 100 miles away, but we were attending a 4 day conference in Bozeman. We wanted to be well rested on our 1st day so we stayed the night before our conference started. Each night after the conclusion of the conference, we were able to escape to our room, the restaurant, the pool and hot tub. We woke up each morning. Well rested and prepared for that day at the conference. Good accommodations and great staff!

    « Best Western Surprise! »

We flew into Bozeman the day prior to our Ranch Vacation at The Ranch at Rock Creek. We were supposed to stay at the Holiday Inn next door, but after walking to the Best Western to have a cocktail, we knew we needed to see if they had a room. The staff and manager were amazing and so understanding of our wanting to change hotels after already checking into the other hotel. They assisted us in moving our bags and getting us to a beautiful room. The restaurant/lounge was so much fun and the food delicious! They even had a small casino! Would definitely stay again!

« They take advantage of you »

First off we are a Best Western Gold member. We have stayed at over 100 BW's in the last 3 years. This was/is the worst. They jack up the price by 75% on Montana State Bobcat football weekends. Not only do they rip off the fans, the really rip off the poor guy traveling through. Secondly, while checking in, you have to deal with rude drunks who have terribly been over served at the bar 30 feet away, and plugging up the check in area drooling over themselves. Third, the agent at the counter wearing a Bobcat football jersey, is more interested in watching the drunks then helping us check in after a 500 mile drive. Fourth, the hallways to the rooms are not even 7 feet tall. Really? being 6-8 you really get the feeling of being trapped in a cave. Who has less than 8 foot ceiling in a commercial building? Fifth, the bed sucks. If we didn't know better, you would think it was a waterbed from the 70's. You blink and the bed moves. And to top all this off, every BW Plus we have stayed at, again over 100 have all served a free hot breakfast. Not a continental, but a nice hot breakfast that was included in the price. Some if not set up for hot breakfasts, would give you a coupon to walk next door for a nice free breakfast. This place you could have gone into the bar that smells like rotten alcohol and purchased a breakfast in which the special was $12. Really! When I asked the desk clerk why this Plus hotel didn't have the free breakfast, she stated, "Our customers didn't like the free breakfast." This hotel needs to check around with the others. Because if their customers didn't like it, it's because they were not doing it right. The only one I can think of who doesn't like the free breakfast is the individual owner of this Franchise hotel. We will never stay at this hotel, and will advise anyone we can not to stay her either. We will still be loyal BW customers unless this becomes their standard. Hope not.

    « First stop on a tour »

We stayed one night but found the customer service exemplary. Early check in was a relief. Free shuttle to town made exploring convenient. Second floor room was in an inconvenient location. Tour group food was mediocre but regular breakfast was good. And I love hot showers.

« Visit family in Minot »

We stayed here two nights, 8/29 then again 6/3. Reason I book this place was experience (free breakfast) which they no longer have. Still the rooms are clean, reasonable TV and the restaurant dinner selections were well rounded and very good but no breakfast???

    « Extra for breakfast »

The room was clean and comfortable, the staff nice and professional. We had a small moving van, and the parking lot accommodated our van. The freeway and gas stations are convenient to this hotel. There is also dining nearby. My main complaint was that breakfast was extra because there is a restaurant attached to the hotel.

« There is no Plus in this Best Western »

This place right off I-90 is in serious need of updating. Creepy low halllways, rooms facing the indoor pool that all you hear are kids screaming. No free breakfast, which I thought was part of the "plus" in Best Western Plus. Hostile staff, or just plain absent at check out. Had to wait 20 minutes after 7 am to check out. Will not stay here again.

    « Sweet Sleep »

Found our King Suite restful, roomy, quiet, and convenient for our 1 night stay. Restaurant provided a wide selection of choices and very friendly staff. Very close to freeway and fuel station for our 2 wheeled travels!

« A Must if in Bozeman, MT »

The Gran Tree is an easy off and on from interstate 90 as well as a quick trip to Downtown Bozeman. Great Staff, Wonderful Bar and Lounge Ambiance and Incredible food. Real convenient. Ample parking if trailering or a big rig.

« I traveled to Bozeman with my 5 year old son to visit the Museum of the Rockies for the dinosaur exhibit. »

I arrived and checked in on Sunday August 14, 2016 and checked out Tuesday August 16, 2016. The room was very clean and cozy, located next to the pool for me to take my son swimming. Everything was great except for when I went to check out. I had made my reservations by telephone for the room a few hours before our arrival and mentioned to the young man assisting me on the other end the website had the room listed for $138 per night and he confirmed the price and that there would be state tax added at the time of checkout. When I checked out I was disappointed to find out in order for me to get the price confirmed I needed to book everything online and because I had booked the room on the phone the price was much different. Sunday night cost me $159.99 plus tax and Monday night was $199.99 plus tax. I was not made aware of the extra cost for reserving my room. The price difference was $83.98 plus tax extra, not a huge amount, but still a little more than I was aware of. I am recently separated due to my wife leaving me for another man and I was wanting to make some special memories with my little boy, it cost a little more than my budget was expecting, but worth every minute with my son. I'll take this as a lesson learned and make sure I book my room online next time to help save a little bit to afford a few more souvenirs on our way home. The young lady at the front desk was very apologetic and kind in explaining my misunderstanding.

« Stop on way to Yellowstone »

Rooms were not the best. No breakfast. Staff rude. Did not know there was an Art show going on. So busy crazy. 40 minute wait for dinner. We had 4 small children. Not a fun experience. The pool was closed due to the art show. Disappointing.

    « Not Best Western's Usual Quality »

We've stayed in at least 10 Best Westerns on our recent road trip and this one did not meet our usual expectations. The fitness center was across a parking lot, up the stairs above a convenience store, there was no breakfast whatsoever and the coffee pot in the lobby was empty in the morning. We were not offered discounts for the restaurant on the premises and it was a bar/casino which we would not have visited anyway. We were not greeted with anything (i.e. water bottles, cookies, newspaper, wine/cheese, or our name on the "welcome preferred guest" sign) although we have been Best Western Rewards member for many years. We asked not to be around kids or pets but the room we were given was a poolside room. To her credit, the front desk clerk tracked me down and moved us to the handicap room which was in a quieter place in the building and close to the parking lot. The bed was very comfortable, but not comfortable enough to justify the cost of this place.

    « Save your money »

They must think very highly of themselves. This place is extremely overpriced for what you get. We are used to going to sleep around 9 p.m. Our room was next to the pool. A little after 10, the noise from the area was overwhelming. I called the desk, and complained, to no avail. About 15 minutes later I called and said that I probably would want a refund. That got the pool closed. Perhaps they should close their pool at 9, or enforce their 10 o'clock closure. Walking through the sitting area to get coffee in the lobby, I noticed wet towels along the couches. Additionally, there is no complimentary breakfast. After paying around $157 for a night, you would not expect to fork out another 12-15 dollars for a breakfast. Pet would be nice if folks would let their dogs eliminate in the designated area instead of in the grass median in the parking lot. SAVE YOUR MONEY...Consider the Hampton Inn or similar where you can receive cleanliness, breakfast, as well as quiet for your bucks.

    « Very helpful staff »

The staff at this hotel are very helpful and friendly. The Club is a restaurant/ lounge is very nice. There is no free breakfast unless you choose that option at check-in. Bozeman is an expensive place to stay in general and the rates at this hotel reflect that.

« Top Notch Conference Center »

I recently held SafetyFestMT, a multi-track training event that lasted three days and we couldn't have picked a better spot. The staff was responsive to our every need and often anticipated what we did need. The catering crew was wonderful to work with and deserve a big kudos. The only complaint we heard from participants was how warm the atrium was, everything else was wonderful. We'll definitely be back!

« Best Value and Location »

Whenever we are traveling for business or pleasure we try and stay at the Best Western Gran Tree. We love being able to take the shuttle us from there to downtown and KC the shuttle driver is great with recommendations and is great about knowing what's going on in the area.

« Very Outdated, 7 foot ceilings in Hallways »

We love Bozeman and travel there frequently for work or to go fishing. The check in staff act as if you are interrupting something important to check you in. Almost always the check in staff are unable to find our reservation. It is painful. This hotel has had a room update which is attractive. The low ceilings make you feel like you are in a dungeon. My 6' 3" husband has to duck as he walks part of the halls. I am 5'3" and I can touch the ceilings standing flat footed. The employees stand right outside the exit doors and smoke. It is so awful when you walk outside to 2nd hand smoke. It has a great restaurant/lounge but we don't spend more than a few minutes of our stay there...we only stay at this hotel because we are BW Diamond rewards members and it is the only BW in Bozeman. This is a very average property at best.

    « no security »

My vehicle was broken into overnight and I understand This is a common problem. There no security and management appeared not to care. I noticed the motel vans were moved to the entrance at night for protection so i am quite sure there have been other problems.

« Worst BW experience ever »

We do love BW hotels. However, this one in Boseman is an exception. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. The bed was the worst BW bed we've ever experienced, the room was dirty (not clean), the check in staff refused to work with us.

    « Not a happy anniversary »

We use best westerns alot.. my husband stays 2 nights a week out of town and we travel quite a bit.. I've stayed at this best western before and haven't had too many problems. We reserved a room in advance, as we always do, checked in and was told we were upgraded due to our diamond elite status.. REALLY!! get to the room, instead of 2 queen beds we now had 1 king and a pull out couch?! We were traveling with our 17 year old daughter.. why would she want to sleep on a couch bed!! We were not too happy but we're late with our anniversary plans. When we came back we found the pull out couch was broken. Couldn't be fixed and we're told they didn't have another room.. the next morning the front desk really kind of dismissed our complaints. I like best western but will never stay at the Bozeman location

    « Newly renovated room »

Customer service was exceptional, room was newly renovated and quiet, bed was comfortable. The location of the hotel is right off I-15, so easy to find. My room was clean (carpet, bathroom, etc.). Because the hotel is set back from any roads, the setting is quiet.

« Pool was gross, otherwise fine stay »

Stayed one night. The room was standard size and there were no issues. The beds were comfy and the temperature very pleasant. Our towels had been folded into interesting animals shapes, which was a nice touch. The pool area was nice sized and indoors. The pool was a bit gross, murky with things floating in it. The hot tub was enjoyable. You could tell the pool area had not been serviced in some time though, and there were also no bathing towels. The pool/hot tub experience is a big part of my stay, so that was disappointing.

    « Wow, spendy »

Nice hotel but very expensive this time of year. Bed is comfortable, tv larger then normal. Bathroom is very clean and has all the little stuff that make you glad you chose this hotel. They have a bar and nigh club in the hotel that is very popular in the community. When you check in you get a free drink coupon. Great place to stay if you only need one room. Multiple rooms could be very costly.

« The Place to check out before staying. »

I would not stay here again unless changes are made. Hallways had odor, Hot water was not, beds leaned, mold in shower was painted over but still came through. It was not worth the price. The front desk gave a courtesy call to see if we were going to stay. That was fine--but we received 3 calls within a few minutes-- 2 hours before arrival. No records? No complimentary breakfast. It was the most expensive BW+ in our travels but would not rate a "Plus" in my book, just a Best Western with high prices and misleading amenity list.

  • 3
    « Just another hotel. »

Stay at the hotel for business so I could be close to the airport. Just needed a place to hang my hat for one night. The hotel is average and nothing special. I was surprised by the cost for one night stay, for what I get for the money, nothing great. They have a restaurant on location and the burgers are outstanding. If nothing else, stop in for a meal or a cold beer and watch the several TV on the wall. They do offer a free shuttle to the airport.

« Some hits .. Some misses but overall good »

It's interesting that we stayed at a BW just a few days before that really blew us away and this one did too just not in the same way. Our first night was a one rate then jumped on the 2nd, the room didn't change, the maid service didn't even service our room (at our request), it wasn't painted or remodeled overnight so the rate should have stayed flat but it didn't which influenced our decision to use the property again on our 2nd pass through town. The Excellent Points: A cute (Russian I believe) waitress named Lucy (I hope I'm getting this right), she made our restaurant experience awesome, bubbly, great personality, great service, just a great staffer and a huge benefit to the property. The good points: Pet Friendly (Super Important), clean but slightly dated rooms, large property with lots of rooms, friendly staff, great restaurant with great food, smoke free casino (not of interest to us but smoke free was nice), conveniently located. Honestly there were a couple of "Not So Good" points but they weren't worth the mention, I had a long discussion with the proprietor about our experience and I get the feeling he really cares about his property but sadly as we later found out on our return, there is newer and nicer 1 exit away.

« We were expecting so much more from a BW PLUS »

Checkin was not pleasant. After a long drive we just wanted to get to our room.My family was in the car waiting while I checked in. The desk clerk was busy on the phone with a guest about prices etc.and did not even acknowledge me. It seemed like at least 15 minutes, but may not have been. IMHO a person in front of you should take priority over someone on the phone. I requested a room near the elevator, but did not get one. I asked for a luggage cart and she haphazardly pointed around the corner. I looked down the hall and did not see one. Turns out they are in an alcove off the hallway. But she did not say that, which we found when we went to get dinner. I got the keys & wanted to find the room so my 80 yr old mother did not have to walk too far. The room was on the other side of the hotel that did not have an elevator so the only option was to make mom climb steep stairs or take the elevator and walk the distance. It was a long walk for her. Combined with no luggage cart we had to drag our suitcases through the whole hotel!! I chose this hotel for the casino which did not impress my sisters. The room was nice, the beds were comfortable. The girl at the desk needs some serious training.

    « Well Done »

Instead of using the internet to book my stay, I decided to call with a few questions I didn't see answered on the site. The call was answered quickly and professionally, soon I had a clean, comfortable room booked and was a rewards member. Definitely try the restaurant. It was great.

    « One Stop! »

Wanted to use our Best Western Rewards and GranTree did have the best price after searching around on the web. Prices for rooms seem generally on the high end in Bozeman. Our room was a bit on the small side. We stayed 4 nights. We asked for a room close the exit and they were very accommodating. The pool is in the middle of the facility so a little noisy but a great way to keep an eye on kids. The walk downtown was just lovely. Surrounded by great historical sites. The restaurant in the hotel has great food and very reasonable prices. Staff was very friendly.

« Seriously overpriced for what you get »

Stayed here for 1 night on transit to Portland. Hotel is old and in need of upgrading. Hotel is overpriced for what you get. We had a two queen beds for 2 adults & 1 child. As soon as you opened the door and walked into the room it had a mouldy smell. Room was a little small but tidy and fairly clean (not to my standard- a little OCD). One of the beds squeaked everytime you rolled over, air conditioning was noisy (we had to turn off). Room had small fridge and microwave. Restaurant is onsite but we didn't eat there. The jury is still out on whether we would stay again or recommend to friends.

    « Awesomeness in Bozo »

The Gran Tree is a "one stop" place for hotel service when traveling. Easy access, quality food and excellent customer service. Easy access off of Interstate 90 as well as a quick trip to downtown Bozeman. Excellent for business and pleasure.

« Yes, please and thank you »

I loved this experience at Bst Western Plus Gran Tree Inn. In fact I joined their rewards program after my stay because I enjoyed it so much. The room was great! I don't know if I've been this comfortable away from home in a while.

    « nice place »

the hotel is clean and quiet, the beds are comfotrable. it is a well taken care of hotel. good place to stay for a weekend. easy access to and from interstate.rooms are a little pricy for the night, but over all it is a very good place to stay.

    « A great place to stay »

Even though we were only here for 1 night, our stay was great. The staff was terrific, the restaurant food and staff was excellent, the accommodations were just right, and we loved the fact there was an enclosed grass area for pets. We will definitely stay here again when driving through town.

    « Good but expensive »

This is a pet-friendly hotel and these rooms are on the first floor which is really nice. The room was clean and there was not pet smells. It was pretty expensive though, $229 which is way high for what you get in a room. There is no free breakfast. The pet area outside was large and "waste-bags" were available there. A good place, but too expensive. Bozemen is a beautiful town, and the highway South to West Yellowstone is stunning in beauty.

    « Blair from Sandy »

Hotel was nice and close to center of town. Quiet rooms also very clean room. The bed was not very comfortable but thanks to in room internet I was able to find something to do until I fell asleep. Hotel staff was great and very helpful.

« Clean and comfortable country hotel »

This is a very clean and comfortable country hotel. Nothing pretentious just simple and good hospitality. The bar and restaurant are both good with several options available. They offer a 2 for 1 deal on arrival at both the bar for a drink and restaurant for coffee. The restaurant serves good home style meals steak, fish, chicken all with soup, salad and potatoes. For dinner t is open until 10pm then there is room service. Breakfast starts at 6am and is similarly wholesome.

« Great Staff, Good Food, Works for Chemical Sensitivity »

The Best Western GranTree is an excellent choice. The staff has been well-trained and are intelligent and helpful. The hotel has been upgraded with an elevator and various amenities. The restaurant is outstanding. I had a filet for dinner and it was as good as any I've had in 5star restaurants. The bar has a good variety and the bartender is the best. I have food allergies and chemical sensitivity and this hotel is a safe and comfortable place for me.

    « Visiting Bozeman »

I stayed at this hotel for a few days. Was quite good. Good menu at the sportbar, only portions were very big. Too much meat for me. Pool is a bit small. But very good hotel for the four nights I stayed.

« Beautiful scenery and friendly staff »

This hotel has a beautiful view of mountains and a mini casino attached. The Club restaurant is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner and has a patio for outside dining. Free coffee throughout the day along with lemon water. There is a small indoor pool. My room was clean, my bed comfortable and has a mini fridge and microwave. Also, iron and ironing board. Shower/tub and toilet separate from sink/vanity area. Conveniently across the street from Walmart for items that you may need or forgot. Gas station with Arby's inside is in the same parking lot. Right in front of hotel. Van shuttle to and from hotel and will also take you within a couple of miles. Including downtown area. Downtown is really a street that has quaint shops and restaurants. Great hotel if you have a car and/or passing by and need a place to stay. If not, not much to do.

« Needs a lot of work and training »

Stayed here for one night and was not impressed. Not usual Best Western standard or experience. The downstairs hallway smelled of sewage and looked unclean and old. The room was OK except the air conditioner was so loud, old and noisy, that one either had it on and lay awake or turned it off and roasted in bed. The staff was pleasant but not very knowledgeable. It seemed everyone was being trained. The front desk agent did not know how to check us in. The phone receptionist did not know how a guest could retrieve a phone message from their room. When checking out the morning staff were doing their audit so no receipt was available. They promised to send one by email but a week later we have not seen one. The restaurant was fine, very busy and noisy but good food and pleasant service

    « Needs work. »

Could not set the ac below 68 and the room never got below 72 and was very humid. To hot to sleep. AC sounded like a 747 at take off. Pool noise was excessive and they didn't close it at 10PM. People were making noise at midnight.

    « Dinner »

After a long day's drive, we stopped at the Best Western in Bozeman. Saw that there was a bar and restaurant off the lobby, so went in there and sat at the bar. It was absolutely the right choice. Our bartender--Matt-- was great. Helpful advice on the dinner menu, and a great pour with our drinks. It was a great pre-fishing-trip dinner. Well worth every penny.

« Great place to sleep but that's about it. »

Very upsetting that Best Western allows the signature "plus" with no breakfast. I don't pay a premium to be told "the restaurant is reasonably priced". Ugh. Otherwise the facility was amazing. Beds were great, TV was big, large rooms, surroundings were beautiful.

    « Nice »

Most Bozeman hotels seen overpriced to me. I'm accustomed to paying about half this much for an equivalent room most places we travel. This was a reunion group, and our buffet dinner and brunch were very good, as was the one meal we ate in the restaurant. The room was quiet and clean, and the staff were friendly and helpful. We were able to have premeal gatherings in the courtyard and the atrium, and pleased to be able to do the gatherings and food all where we were staying.

    « Friendly Refuge »

What a great place to relax and let the miles wash away. Our Miata friends will recognize an excellent venue in a picture perfect landscape with excellent roads. Friendly staff round out a truly memorable stay.

    « Very comfortable »

The place was very comfortable. Check in was a little hectic because their computers were down but all in all very nice place and I would highly recommend. My children really loved the pool area and the whole place was very clean.

    « What happened? »

We have booked the GranTree a half dozen or so times in the past few years. We often book 8-15 rooms for our business in Bozeman. The service has always been good and the amenities decent until this last trip. Something is very wrong here. With one exception, a local high school student , the management appears to have uniformly stopped training any of their desk personnel. When I brought my laundry down to the desk in the morning, three times I was told by the morning desk person that she didn't know what to do with laundry. One time I was told I could do it myself. Not the advice I was looking for. The last night I was there the laundry I had brought in two days earlier was still not returned. One of the desk people told me they had no control over when my laundry could be returned. Since I was out of the hotel by 4:30 am, I told them they could FedEx it to me for Monday delivery. I told them that I would not pay the bill for a dozen or so rooms until I had a FedEx weigh bill number showing the laundry was returned...miracle of miracles, they were able to 'find' my laundry and return it me by 8:30pm. Earlier that week the power went out. Internet went with it. It came back on relatively quickly and by the next morning was working fine...except in my room. I made several trips to the front desk and I was repeatedly told that there was a phone number in my desk to trouble-shoot internet problems. I repeatedly told the people at the front desk that my devices worked everywhere else in the building and that I had even brought an associate's computer to my room, that worked fine in his room, and it would not work in my room. I did finall get service back after three days and an apology from the managing partner. So here's the rub. Management at this previously good hotel has allowed this lousy situation to develop. It's untenable in a service business to tell customers that they are the problem. It's untenable in a service business to allow the face of the business, the desk people, to begin any sentence with anything other than,'How can I help you resolve this?' or, 'Let's see if I can find out what's going on here? Or even, "I don't know the answer to that, but I will find out and contact you.' Management is responsible for teaching the staff basic protocols. The only person who followed that rule was a high school girl who seemed to be really committed to making our stay comfortable and positive. She patiently listened to my whining and outrage and told me she would fix the problem and she did. Perhaps she should be running the Gran Tree. I'm sure she would do a far better job than the current management team.

    « Best Hotel Ever! »

Stayed here on business and didn't want to leave! The views are beautiful, yet it's close to Main St and all the activities of Bozeman. In the morning a wonderful breakfast is available for free in the lobby and warm cookies all day long. The bed was the most comfortable I've ever slept in...EVER! and the pool was clean and warm. Lots of free travel brochures available, the staff was very helpful...Couldn't ask for more! The place was so wonderful I extended my stay and was reprimanded at my job....but worth it!!

    « disappointed!! »

We made our reservations almost a year ahead of time so we could get our request for a non-smoking, king bed room close to the elevator due to my husband having a hard time walking. When we got there they had put us in an outrageously priced suite (not requested) as far away from the elevator as possible. The manager eventually put us in another room (the Wedding Suite, Again, Not requested) which was uncomfortable. No continental breakfast. The hotel was not the quality we have come to expect from a Best Western

« Acceptable hotel with excellent bar and restaurant »

I was in Bozeman for a conference and this was the hotel chosen by the coordinator. It is an older hotel that has been updated. Bathroom was very small with sink and mirror out in the room. The bed was comfortable and it was clean. I did enjoy the restaurant and bar in the hotel which increased the rating by a star. The food was excellent and the staff at the bar and restaurant was very friendly.

« Do not stay here »

I cannot believe how extremely inept the staff is. They told me my reservation, booked through travelocity on Jul 12, 2015, was inexplicably "cancelled" on March 20th so we were "upgraded" to a King Suite for the same cost as my original 4 night booking. Then I was called the next day to say I was a "no show" for the previous day by the same clerk, who check us in?! I explained who I was and how she "resolved" my problem. Then later that day I was called by a different clerk who asked if we were staying longer because we hadn't checked out?? Really. I explained how my reservation had been "fixed" and so she said she'd make the corrections, again because we were only booked in the room for one night. So I asked her to confirm our charges for the room, because my daughter actually paid with a debit card, but I had reserved it online with my credit card. No the charges were all completely wrong and my daughter had been charged over $800 was a room were only supposedly had been scheduled to have for one night?? That was almost double my original rate with taxes. My daughter got her charges corrected. Then I checked my credit card statement online and discovered I was also charged for my first night's stay. I've called again and fully expect a refund; however, I will never recommend this hotel to anyone, ever! They cannot get anything right even when trying. Unbelievable!! Oh and the room was not that great.

« The Best Best Western »

This was the best Best Western I've ever stayed at. Staff was friendly, helpful, courteous; property was clean, well maintained and the room was well laid out. Breakfast buffet had good variety. Highly recommend it for stays in Whitefish.

    « Clean & Comfortable »

The room was beautiful. The bed was so comfortable. Extremely clean room. Disappointed as this was one of the only Best Western hotels we stayed at that did not offer any type of free breakfast, could be because there is a restaurant located on the premises.

« Customer service is important to me, but apparently not this Best Western »

When we visit Bozeman we have always stayed here...until now. We were there for a medical procedure and needed a good night's sleep, which shouldn't be can issue. At 4:30 am our room was overpowered by a harsh chemical smell, and in the hallway too. It was truly horrible. I called the front desk and the young man said they were stripping the floors in the lobby. We could not open a window because our room was by the pool. There was no escaping this harsh chemical smell that we frankly did not ask to be exposed to. I was up for the rest of the morning feeling sick. My husband inquired about compensation at the front and was told "sorry." I too inquired at the desk when I checked our and was told "that's weird." I got a survey from Best Western today and made my concerns clear. Unless they can provide some compensation for loyal customers we will be staying at one of the numerous other options in Bozeman. I would now recommend others find motels that value their customers and avoid the GranTree.

    « Toastmasters »

Great location, comfortable beds, no towels in pool area on first night. Hotel staff was mostly in a good mood, conference rooms set up quickly and food was good, a little more fat on the beef then I would like.

« Nice place to stay »

The rooms were clean with comfortable beds. The restaurant and bar are very good. Hotel and restaurant/bar were VERY busy during our stay, yet the staff remained calm, friendly and accommodating. The nachos at the Club Tavern are huge and very good.

    « Best Western GranTree »

The staff was wonderful and made us feel very welcome. The room and facilities were clean and in great shape. Just a very nice stay. The location is great too. The on-site restaurant serves very good food and the lounge has some fun machines to play and nice staff.

« Not worth the price »

This hotel was VERY clean. The price does not create value. This property is over priced. Had breakfast been included, or had the rooms been upgraded (bathroom upgrades) this might have been a more reasonable price. I paid $150 for one night and was disappointed.

    « Grantree Inn »

I have stayed for 10 years this time of year for a Building Codes conference. This year, like in years past, my stay was excellent. The meals prepared were of high quality despite the increasing numbers attending the conference. Rooms were adorned this year with new carpet and drapes. Size of rooms was more than adequate and the staff was just great!

« Gym is across the parking lot and little parking. »

If you plan to use the fitness center, get there during daylight. It is across the dimly lit parking lot in another building to make room for the event seating. Get there early enough to get a parking spot if there is an event being held there.

« Not much bang for buck »

Meh... we stayed in a king suite with our dog and chose this hotel because they allow pets. After leaving dry dog food in a dish on the floor for about three hours, it was crawling with itty bitty ants. Not sure how they got to the middle of the floor since I couldn't see a trail. We had to toss the food. Hallways and business area smelled like the pool, which didn't have towels stocked. Didn't try the hotel restaurant because it was overpriced and there are many options on Main Street. In room coffee was OK but powdered creamer? C'mon. My fault that I didn't check for breakfast included. It's not. Overall, underwhelmed. Oh, and a non-verbal toddler knocked on our door at midnight. Luckily passersby saw the direction from where he came and we were able to return him to his sleeping mom who left the door cracked. Not the hotel's problem but strange none the less.

« Best Western Grandtree Great Choice »

Clean rooms, great staff, GREAT food. The restaurant is top notch and the tomato soup is a must have when staying. Easy access to freeway and downtown. Quiet rooms, lots of parking, definitely our go to hotel when traveling to Bozeman.

    « Why we didn't stay here »

Many months ago we made a reservation at a different property in Bozeman for a one-night, pre-flight stay. Upon finding out that the property did not offer an early morning shuttle to the airport, we researched our options. Best Western Gran Tree Inn advertised 24/7 shuttle service. I called the hotel directly and was assured they ran 2 shuttles continuously and we could expect to have a wait of no more than 20 -30 minutes. So we cancelled our other reservation and booked a room at BW Gran Tree at a higher rate based solely on the availability of the shuttle. Prior to returning our rental car, we dropped our luggage at the hotel; hoping to avoid the hassle of having the shuttle driver haul the ski tube, etc., on the shuttle. We were asked to leave our belongings behind the front desk, which was fine. The we were informed that we would have an extended wait at the airport because they were runnning only one shuttle due to a driver calling in, and the next trip was fully booked (so we'd need to wait for the second round trip, over an hour). We had no option since our rental car was due back. When we got to the airport we noticed the shuttle sitting out side completely empty. We approached the driver and were told that he couldn't fit us on the shuttle as they had a contract with Delta to meet their flights. We informed him that we were going back inside to rent a car. When we arrived back at the hotel, our room was still not ready. The front desk clerk was very rude, told me there was no one to speak with about the shuttle inconvenience and scolded us for not calling them back to say we didn't need the shuttle "Don't you have a cell phone?", she asked. She inferred that he made the trip just for us, then admitted there was another passenger needing transportation. We told her we spoke with the driver. We sat to wait for our room and observed the front desk area (and all of our luggage) being left unattended multiple times while she went to run errands. At this point we decided to go elsewhere and it was a great decision. We had enough time to go behind the desk, remove all of our luggage and pull up the car to load it - all unobserved. Poor security and customer service. We understand the difficulties with being short-staffed, and would have been content with some sort of acknowledgement of the inconvenience. The positive side to all of this is we found a terrific lodging option at a better price! Comfort Suites on Catamount.

    « Totally Disorganized »

Our room was ready at check-in time. The gave us a room and then called us back to give us another. When we fought our way to the room through a group of people setting up for some event, the key didn't work and we had to get another. The rooms themselves are ok, but dated and dark. Ours was just off the parking lot and was therefore somewhat noisy. The worst part about the hotel, however, is its location. It is about a mile out of town and its shuttle service is very poor. The hotel shuttle took us to town the morning of the afternoon we were to leave for the airport. We checked our luggage at the hotel and arranged for (i.e. made a reservation) a return shuttle to the hotel and out to the airport. (Taxis are essentially non-existent in Bozeman.) Well, when it came time to return to the hotel and get our luggage, the hotel informed us they were too busy to send the shuttle for us. (The cab wouldn't promise pickup for 2 1/2 hours.) So, we walked. That was fine, but not what we expected. The real problem was when we got back to the hotel and it came time to take our reserved shuttle to the airport. NO SHUTTLE DRIVER! The driver wasn't too busy: he was a no-show. After much pleading with someone on the phone, one of the desk clerks left the desk and came back with the keys to the shuttle and drove us to the airport. She deserved and received a very nice tip. The hotel deserves and now receives a very poor rating. It was just a mess from check-in to check-out and beyond.

    « Thank You »

As a retired GM of a BW property I know the challanges of having everything being perfect. I love your hotel. Everything was very clean and relaxing. The beds are very comfortable. Thanks to everyone for making my stay wonderful!

    « Very pleased »

The customer service was good and my room was comfortable, spacious and clean. Most of all, the room seemed very well insulated from outside noise, so a good nite's sleep came easily. The hotel has a restaurant; had a delicious breakfast there and the service was perfect. Also, the hotel will shuttle you to historic downtown; however, it is within easy walking distance - about a mile. Great place and I will definitely return!

    « Can't praise enough »

As a business traveler i have stayed at many hotels around the globe. I normally stay at Best Western in the US, although at times i've arrived to find them in seedy neighborhoods, GranTree Inn however is not one of those. They are by far the best hotel i've ever stayed in for the price. The rooms are spacious and clean, the bed is comfortable, their rewards program often give me upgrades and the property is immaculate. The staff, I can't praise enough. The attached restaurant is good, however it's claim to be an upscale restaurant is questionable. Overall it very much deserves my excellent rating. I travel to Bozeman 2-3 times a year and would never consider staying anywhere else. It's top notch and you won't be disappointed!

    « Rate $100 more then quoted »

I was quoted a poolside room for $ when I checked and went to my room it was not even close to pool. Called front desk said no pool side rooms where available. because my room was wrong decided to check the rate because front desk never gave me my rate when I checked in and it was $100 over what was reserved.

    « Heading South »

A good location just off the interstate with efficient staff. The rooms are clean and well set up. They accepted my dog for the overnight stay. This is a huge plus and not always easy to find a hotel that will accept dogs.

« Greap Property In Bozeman »

This is a great property. Rooms very comfortable and modern, internet works very well and the restaurant on site is excellent and busy. Great place to stay. Had dinner in the restaurant the Pork dinner was great. Really enjoyed being in a relaxed atmosphere. Not your typical hotel restaurant.

« Second Hotel in Bozeman and the Best »

After I got bumped on flight out of Bozeman, we ended up a Gran Tree. Complimentary shuttle at all hours (paid for cab at other hotel because of limited shuttle hours). Staff was friendly and offered some coupons at check-in. Room was comfy. This had an in-house restaurant and bar. Internet was good. When I had to return because of another flight problem, I was assigned to same room as requested. Restaurant was good and waitstaff friendly. I would recommend this hotel!

    « no ammenities »

We were very disappointed in this hotel. The rooms was nice and clean but they charged for everything but the ice. The restaurant was expensive. $1.25 for a slice of cheese on the $11 burger. The food was ok and the ambiance was ok, too, I guess. Our room had no outside view, it looked in on the pool where we had a view of all the swimmers. It was quiet enough, though. The bed was comfortable and the room was warm. They should watch out for getting a reputation for being cheapskates.

    « Comfortable »

This Hotel is starting to show some age and could use some updates. We have stayed exclusively at BW's this trip and this one was comfortable but generally showed it's age. Still the restaurant was very nice and was a local "hot spot" I think as very busy and lots of good food on the menu.

    « Rates negotiable »

Good place to stay. Rates are negotiable if you ask for the lowest rate. Otherwise you will pay full too prices. Clean rooms with access to poolside fun and games. If you need quiet- do not get a room along the pool. Restaurant had fast friendly service.

« Big rooms, no breakfast »

While the ceilings in the hallways are low, the room are impressively spacious. This hotel is a long way from Main Street and the University, but it is located on a main road so access is easy. My room was next to a stairwell, but the noise wasn't too bad. There was a decent sized TV, a microwave, a safe, and a refrigerator. The work desk is uncomfortable for work, being too low and not easy to adjust the chair and still fit under the desk. The wifi is free. The bathroom was plain, the handbasin very small and cluttered. The toilet took a long time to flush. There was a nail sticking out from the mirror.

    « Convenient stop »

Very nice hotel. There is a restaurant/ sports bar as well as a City brew coffee kiosk. Because of this, however, breakfast is not included without a surcharge. The room was comfortable, bed was conducive to good sleeping.

    « Great place »

Great place, great rooms, great beds, great service. Restaurant was a little cold every time the door opened. I had to go back to my room and grab my jacket. Best steak my husband has ever had. (Ribeye)

« Now there is a fee for dogs! »

Since our last stay, they have added a nominal fee for dogs. Beds were very comfortable and room was nice and clean. The bathroom set up is not very handy--reach down to touch your toes to get a kleenex--and no garbage can in the bathroom or sink area. Hot tub and pool area was nice.

    « Nice, but overpriced. »

I stayed here with my granddaughter and my dog on November 5th which is a Wednesday. My total price ended up being $147.00 and change for the night. This is not a hundred and fifty a night hotel. My daughter ordered a steak and it was the worst steak ever. The texture was pasty. On the other hand the Creme Caramel was fantastic and the two other meals we ordered were good. The wait staff is extremely attentive and the waitress in the morning even made cinnamon sugar toast for my granddaughter. The beds were fine. The pool was a perfect temperature but the hot tub was scalding, and I like a hot tub hot!

« Excellent Service, Nice Rooms »

Amber at the front desk helped us. Had to stay here overnight due to a flight cancellation. She was great! Room was amazing, shower seemed to be slightly larger than normal. Huge television for the room, great beds, extra comfy!

« Good hotel, nice stay »

Total cost - $104.71 Good stay, restaurant/coffee bar right in lobby area. Good price, not too expensive. Stayed on Sunday night, checkout on Monday. Was mostly quiet and in a nice area (right next to interstate). Free WiFi

    « Clean Hotel »

After traveling all day we needed a place to spend the night..We were very pleased with the spaceiousness and cleanliness of our room. It is obviously an older motel that has been totally refurbished. Trip Advisor gives excellent service in quality and availability. We were very pleased ..

« Nice Place, Good Stay »

In town for a wedding. Offered very fair group rate for a nice hotel. Very comfortable and well kept. Clean. Nice coffee shop in lobby area. Breakfast in restaurant was very good. Every employee we contacted was friendly and professional

« Not so sweet suite.... »

When we arrived we were greeted pleasantly by a very nice young lady. She said the rate for tonight was $239.."Wow" I said. Why so much. Football game at the college...OK but we aren't going to the foot ball game. After a few comments and with the supervisor looking over her shoulder we were offered $159 (with tax was $172) and given a suite, I think only because we are diamond members. "OK, sounds good". To get to the "suite" we had to go through the laundry room, and I mean the hotel laundry room, not the guest laundry. The hallway was full of piled high dirty sheets, comforters and towels. Warm day and it smelled terrible. Our room was right next door, of course, in the back of the building. It was pretty much a partly remodeled handicap room, they must have installed a bath tub. No padding under the carpet so the floor was very hard. Broken corner of the low sink with the 2x4's sticking out. The king bed was almost as hard as the floor. On the "up"side we had 2 televisions. One for watching in bed and one for watching in the living room corner and a Jacuzzi. The furniture was clean and adequate, but lacked any personality. The shower was great. It was a very large room and clean so I shouldn't complain. I'm only saying it was not worth $159 per night, let alone $239. Also, we were on our own for breakfast. The only other BW we have encountered with such a high price was in Sonoma, Ca. in the vineyard area, and that room was beautiful, nice furniture, great bed and included a bottle of wine. Best Western in Palm Springs was not as expensive as "Bozeman". This was our 2nd time at this hotel, we won't give it a 3rd try. Dinner at the bar and grill restaurant in the hotel was pleasant enough, but the food was only just ok and very expensive. Nice waitresses and front counter people but I felt like because we were not going to pay top dollar, we were stuck in the room they save for last arrivals. It was just ok.. not great.

    « Dissappointed »

The room was fine, but we were disappointed that there was no continental breakfast offered. The price was a little more than we normally pay, especially without the breakfast. The service was fine, check in and out was quick.

    « A nice place to stay »

A friendly, accommodating staff greeted us at this attractive, modern facility. It was easy for us to swap a double queen room for a king. Our room was large, very clean, well furnished, quiet, and inviting. One downside is that it is a very long walk to the restaurant or front desk if you have a room at the far end of the building. The building has two stories, and they're installing two elevators that should be operational soon. We had a problem with our large flatscreen TV: neither the supplied remote or a replacement could get the TV to change channels or volume, or turn the set on or off. We had to use the tiny buttons on the side of the set to operate it. The on-premises restaurant and sports bar was inviting with a varied menu at moderate prices. The food is good and well presented, but, in the end, it's only a slightly better than average for this type of restaurant. Because they do have an in-house restaurant, there's no complementary breakfast at this Best Western.

« canadian travelling to west coast place we stayed in .girls at frt desk were EXCELLENT!! »

we travelled to west coast driving and stopped here the 2 girls at the desk were excellent at their job great personalities and very helpful!!...Bozeman is such a nice place to stop by ..we enjoyed all the facities and very clean rooms if we come back that way we will for sure stop by we are in our late 50 and travel a lot

« THE Place To Stay In Bozeman »

This is a wonderful hotel - beautiful, very large, facility, with nice, clean rooms and tons of amenities. There is a restaurant and bar with flat screen TV's on the premises. They also have free wifi, an indoor pool & spa, exercise room, coin-operated laundry and a nice little coffee shop area for a quick cup of coffee, muffin and/or sandwich before hitting the road. Very pleasant staff in the restaurant, housekeeping and at the front desk. We would definitely stay here again.

    « Great Experience »

The hotel was very clean inside and out. The staff was gracious, friendly and very professional. I had asked for a ground floor room and they did that for me, even putting me near the entrance so I would not have to carry my luggage so far. I had dinner in the restaurant and the food was excellent. The service was a little slow, but they were very busy. I would recommend this motel to everyone.
