There were no clean towels available once I checked in the hotel and was settled in my room. REALLY!! The jets in the HOT TUB at the POOL not working!! Thumbs down this is unacceptable for a large hotel as this one.

« Much better than expected »

For some reason this lovely hotel got only a 2 star rating. We were guided there by our travel agent because of the cruise/parking package and we were completely satisfied. The lobby is very inviting and the front desk staff was friendly and efficient. Because we had driven quite a ways to get to Baltimore, we were delighted to find a full-service restaurant with a bar at our disposal. The meal was delicious and our server, Zi Zi was charming and very attentive as was the bartender whose name eludes me. After dinner we retired to our room to find it very crisp, clean and comfortable. The next morning we enjoyed a delicious buffet before joining the other "shuttlers" waiting on the ride to the ship. The shuttle service went off without a hitch both coming and going and so, all in all, our trip to the BW Inn and Conference Center, though far too short was everything we could have hoped for. Thank you.

    « Clean the Mold »

The Bad: Vent in room was full of mold and non functional. AC unit very loud and outdated. Pool/fitness center phone not functional--so don't have any emergencies or need towels during your visit. Lobby bathrooms require room key--so don't send your kids or partner off without one. No complimentary water or coffee in lobby, not even a water fountain. They didn't get the memo this is now standard practice. Don't let the sloppy but fresh paint fool you: this is same level at a Motel 6 but twice the price. The Good: The lady at the breakfast area was very nice and the linens appeared clean. Convenient location. And there's a McDonald's adjacent to the parking lot, so you can get water and coffee without using the highly suspect in-room machine.

    « Highly recommended »

You will not find a better more caring staff at any hotel in the country. They really went the extra mile to ensure that everything was perfect for us.When we arrived back from our first day out the pool was closed, but they opened it so my wife could use the spa to soothe her aching legs.

    « Anniversary trip »

The best western hotel advertised a wheelchair accessible room. In fact it wasn't updated at all for a chair. It was a regular room. They only took the bathtub out and tiled the floor. The sink was still too high and the mirror was not usable from a chair. Chair didn't fit by the bed, couldn't access the heat/ac controls. Wasn't a bad hotel, but not for me.

« Good hotel, but NOT close to BWI. »

If you're looking for a place that is very close to the Inner Harbor, it's perfect. Anywhere south requires a trip through the tunnel. It is NOT close to the airport and is in an area that's undergoing urban revitalization with a lot of construction going on around it. The restaurant is very good and reasonably priced, and the breakfast is quite nice. The indoor pool is smaller than it appears in the pics...just a warning. Staff is friendly and helpful.

    « Great Service »

The front desk (Sandra) took care of us. We checked in late but she got everything ready, so we were in our room within minutes. Our room was nice and neat. We had a wonderful stay, short but sweet. Thanks to Sandra.

« Very convenielt for our medical needs. »

The motel is generally very good. The staff has always treated us wonderfully. The only unsatisfactory item is the TV connection which is bad on approximately 1/4 to 1/2 of the channels, mostly at the lower channels. I have a bad back due to an old injury. The bed in THIS room is extremely soft. That caused me a lot of pain. The other rooms we have stayed in had very comfortable beds.

    « John's Hopkins visit »

I always stay at this BW because of the facility location and the staff. They have easy checkin, clean rooms and free shuttle to Johns Hopkins Bayview Hospital. There restaurant is good. The free breakfast has something for everyone. Took off 1 because rooms are a bit outdated. Good place to stay. Friendly staff!

    5
    « Front desk »

Yasmin and Saba greeted us at the front desk after a tiring early morning flight. They were helpful and should be recognized for their top notch customer service. What an asset they are to your hotel.

    « Before Cruise Stay »

Chose this hotel to stay before going on a cruise. They offer a cruise and stay package that provides shuttle service to the pier and back, which sure beats trying to get your vehicle out of the pier parking lot and the $15 a day charge. Breakfast was provided before we left on the cruise. Easy access to and from I95

    « our second cruise »

Good food in the resturant went right along with the pleasant young lady who waited on us, friendly people at the lobby desk as well as the cleaning lady upstairs, clean facilities upstairs in the room as well as in lobby restrooms.

One of the best places I have stayed! LOVE the hotel and the staff! Angel, Ivona, and Jeremy the chef are AMAZING! Stayed there 4 times and will EVERY time I am EVER in Baltimore! Miss you all already ??

« Good value, good location »

Room was comfortable, with a comfortable bed, elevators were fast enough, breakfast is passable, nice having MW and fridge in room. Overall appearance of lobby, hallways, and rooms are also fair enough.

    « Roundarama »

Great hotel accommodations. Breakfast got a little behind with refilling food stations but eventually caught up. A little variety in breakfast meats+ protein would be nice. Parking was a challenge when getting back late at night. Plan on walking. Since this review won't post unless I write at least 200 words, I'll add some gibberish here.

    « Great Hotel »

We have stayed at this Best Western several times before leaving on cruises. The hotel is very close to I-95 and in sight of the cruise terminal. The hotel is very clean with excellent, well trained, helpful and happy staff. The cost of the room includes breakfast on the morning that you depart, free parking for the duration of your cruise and shuttle service to/from the cruise terminal. The shuttle service is provided by the excellent K.D. Shuttle Service. The in house restaurant has very good food on the menu plus there is a buffet offered for both dinner and breakfast. We have recommended this hotel to several other cruisers who also liked the accommodations and have thanked us for our recommendation on it. We have reservations there for our next 5 cruises.

« Top Notch Baltimore Cruiseport Park & Cruise Hotel »

We have used this Hotel many times to stay before leaving for a cruise from the Baltimore Terminal. The rooms are clean, quiet and comfortable. The breakfast is more than satisfactory and the park & cruise shuttle service provided by KD Elite is top notch. Your arrival at the pier is seamless and the shuttle is always waiting for you when you depart from the ship. Staff within the hotel are great and the KD Elite staff are fantastic.

Good for 3 night stay, breakfast was ok, but price was good. Had a shuttle to Inner Harbor., driving distance to inner harbor wasn't too bad either. Wouldn't recommend the restaurant it was just ok, but we were tired first night and didn't feel like goin out

« Stay here every spring. »

We stay here every year for an appt. at Johns Hopkins Hospital. This hotel always fills our request to be close to an elevator due to my husbands inability to walk more than a few steps. They are convenient to the hospital and reasonably priced for the services offered.

    « Execellent staff »

I stayed at Best Western a couple weeks and my stay was amazing. Beds were comfortable and I really enjoyed the breakfast. They offer a complementary shuttle that can take you to different places which is really nice and convenient. The staff in the hotel is great and accommodating. I will definitely stay here in the future when I'm around the area.

« Super nice staff and nice pool »

Stayed with my family to visit Baltimore with Tuesday. The hotel provided a play pen for my 18 month son to sleep in and he slept right through the night. I thought the bed was a bit too firm but just my preference. The pool was very nice -- perfect temp and there's a hot tub!!

« My stay at Best Western »

The hotel accommodations were very satisfactory. We stayed here prior to taking a cruise and were extremely pleased of the easiness in the whole procedure of obtaining the shuttle to the ship the the hotel provided.Would definitely recommend staying here.

« Very happy with my stay and excellent location »

I was in town for business and for an event at Camden Yards. The location made it very easy to get both downtown and out to the county. The room was very clean and the wifi was fast which enabled me to get a lot of work done from the room. Food from the restaurant downstairs was great and it was nice being able to just walk across the street to the store in the travel plaza to get some late night snacks. I would absolutely stay there again.

    « Excellent stay »

The restaurant was very good, nice clean rooms, the view was amazing. The service offered was wonderful, I would recommend this hotel to anyone coming to Baltimore! The staff was very accommodating and nice.

    « Better Than Expected »

I stayed here on my way traveling home from Georgia to New York. I just wanted a place to stop and rest. The location was very convenient right off of I95. I spent one night. The room was very comfortable and clean and the bed felt like heaven after being in the car all day! I had the breakfast in the morning and was very impressed by the variety of hot and cold items. I did not have much interaction with the staff but the people I did deal with were very nice and willing to help me out any way they could.

    « Absolutely Terrible...Stay Elsewhere! »

We had reservations this past Sunday through yesterday. We arrived earlier than check-in as we were needing to catch the shuttle to the Orioles game; upon arrival we walked into the lobby to find a woman who was obviously high on drugs just walking around unattended mumbling to herself (not a site I wanted my five and eight year old to see). We approach the desk to let them know we were there and they not so pleasantly told us to go wait outside for the shuttle driver. As we were walking back out, I assume what was the manager, was telling the woman she couldn't be in the hotel and that she was not a guest and she needed to leave. He walked away from her, leaving her standing in the foyer between the two sets of sliding doors, when we got on the shuttle she was still standing there. The shuttle driver was about as friendly as a wet mop, but she got us to where we needed to be which is all that matters I suppose. We were dropped at the convention center and made a short walk to the stadium, around 2:30PM we called the hotel to ask if we would be able to check in early and I was bluntly told no and that they weren't even sure if the rooms would be ready for check in by four o'clock (which was the actual check in time). We asked when the next shuttle would be coming and we were told not until 4:30 (even though we were told the shuttle runs every hour when we got there and then told it runs every half an hour when we called back). So we found some way to occupy our time until then, luckily we were at the pick up spot twenty minutes early because the shuttle showed up at 4:15 to get us. This was a different driver, who was on his phone when he got there to pick us up and stayed on his phone the entire ride, my husband is a police officer in the state and I'm not sure if you're aware but it is illegal to drive a vehicle while talking on a mobile device. Not to mention we were riding through downtown Baltimore, one of the busiest cities in the world and he's talking on a cell phone! Needless to say, we did not tip him (even though we did tip the first driver when she was not friendly at all). I felt since he felt the need to endanger the lives of my family by talking on his cell phone he did not deserve a reward. We get back to the hotel, safely, and we check in at approximately 4:40 - the front desk agent is not the same person that was there prior, and he was actually friendly. We get up to our room and the room itself is "decent" but we didn't spend much time there before we ventured out for dinner, we decided against using the shuttle service for the remainder of our stay, so we went in our vehicle. We came back and decided to let our kids swim, we head down to the pool and when we opened the door a very foul-smelling odor was filling the entire pool area. There was an older gentleman and his grandchild in there as well. Our children had just got in the pool when the older gentleman's grandchild brought it to his attention that there was something floating in the pool...IT WAS VOMIT! Meanwhile, the hot tub was so filthy that the layer of scum floating in it was so thick you could not even see bottom. We quickly got our kids from the pool and decided to go back upstairs and bathe them. While we were passing through the fitness room there was a group of people provocatively dancing with one another and they had a very obvious odor about them which my husband, being a detective, noticed was definitely marijuana and on our way back to the room on the elevator he noticed the same strong smell. Needless to say we went straight to our room and didn't leave again until the next morning when we went to breakfast - the food was decent and the friendliest person we met on our entire stay was the breakfast attendant so if the hotel has nothing else going for it, it has that. We checked out immediately after breakfast, around 8:30AM. We will NOT be going back to that establishment and will NOT be recommending it to anyone we cross paths with. We have stayed at several Best Western hotels that we have been very pleased with and we like to be loyal customers but this is one we were highly disappointed with and will not be back to.

    « TERRIBLE!! »

Stayed at the Baltimore BW. The Hotel was dirty, staff was unorganized, had to take a cab back from harbor after waiting 45min with no phone call from hotel. when i called after waiting for shuttle they told me to take a cab back. i asked when they were going to tell me after waiting? they replied there are too many phone numbers to look up to get to mine. the room i booked online was not the room they gave me. had booked 4 people and there were only 2 towels in room and only a half a roll of toilet paper. refrigerator did not work. will never stay the again!!!!!

« Tradewinds room service was excellent »

We stayed in this hotel while my husband had surgery at John's Hopkins. It was really convenient, as their shuttle was very reliable and gave us stress free trips to the hospital. Although our room was are quite worn, it was clean, and well serviced. The best part was the restaurant "Tradewinds" room service! Evana and Jeremy delivered a great dinner after my husband was released from the hospital and we couldn't go out to eat. The food was generous, quickly delivered and DELICIOUS. Thank you! It was just what we needed to wrap up a stressful day.

« Fine for one night- Wouldn't stay again »

I chose this Best Western due to some videos I had seen on YouTube from other people leaving Baltimore on a cruise on the Carnival Pride. The price was significantly better than other hotels downtown, but it wasn't worth it. From the moment I got to the hotel, it wasn't what I expected. Immediately after check-in, I asked about the shuttle which the hotel offers to the main downtown (since I didn't appreciate that this hotel is a $4 tunnel ride away from the main area). When I was trying to ask for a ride to the downtown area I mentioned a restaurant I wanted to go to, and someone who didn't appear to work at the desk was so rude to me! She claimed to have never heard of the restaurant I wanted to go to ( one of the top in Baltimore for seafood??!?!) and was egregiously unhelpful when I was asking for clarification as to where the shuttle actually drops off. I cancelled our shuttle immediately because I was so put off- we took an Uber. So at that cost, we should have stayed downtown because it would have been cheaper. What's more, although the hotel room was mostly clean, they gave us a room across from the ice maker, the room had a weird odour, and the fan was SOOOO loud I actually just turned it off. It made the WORST sound every five minutes on the dot that I just couldn't stand it. Of course, the room got stale and hot by morning, but that was even better than not sleeping at all. I'm shocked this room was even still being offered. To be fair, we didn't complain about the fan, but who would after the terrible treatment I got when asking for directions. But even the music in the lobby is so loud you can't talk to someone while waiting for an elevator. It's so strange. I do not recommend this hotel whatsoever. Stay somewhere better downtown.

    « Cruise stay »

Great value for cruising out of Baltimore. They have travel to and from port already set up when you check in. The staff were so nice and personable. Well worth the stay since you can park there for the cruise with the package.

« Next best place to home »

Checked in for a regular trip to Baltimore/Hopkins. Erwin had all my reservation paperwork ready to go. Quick and easy and I'm already set up in my room. My preferred floor and room. It is the people that make this the great place to stay. So close to I 95 and I 895, close to harbor and J Hopkins, great location to stay. Now off to Brewers hill for some Mediterranean for dinner!

« Park and cruise package- RIP OFF »

I booked the park and cruise package via telephone call to best western and was told it was the package. When I got there they told me it wasn't a package and it was just the room. I was charged an extra $98 for parking and shuttle on top of the package price I paid. Not only was I disgusted with the price, it was not a clean establishment, the hotel guests was ridiculously loud and the room was nothing but a 2*. I will never stay here again next time I park and cruise nor would I ever recommend it.

    « Excllent Hotel »

Nice hotel, well situated for our needs. Close to I-95. Nice clean room, with everything we needed. use this hotel for overnight stay for travel south and then back north, after winter travel. Would recommend.

    « Was not happy. »

We stayed here because it was the closest hotel from the hospital my Grandson was in. Could not get into the pool because the pool area was too cold. The room was big and clean, but when you take a shower, the shower curtian was made out of cloth and there was water everywhere on the floor. Also, no shelf to put your soap. The free breakfast was tasty, but the coffee would terrible !! would not stay here again !!

    5
« Great stay, free breakfast »

We stayed the night before our cruise and everything was great. Rooms were clean, pool area was nice, and the breakfast was good. Parking was also plentiful and the shuttle to the cruise terminal was on time and everything went smoothly.

« What an awesome weekend »

I recently had the pleasure of attending a convention at this hotel. Check in was quick and efficient . Our room was extremely clean and well equipped. The staff was very accommodating and pleasant and the food was delicious. I would like the give a special shoutout to Mark the Chef and his exceptional crew and to Janet Campbell and her staff/crew/team for all of their tireless efforts in making sure we all had a great time and that all of our needs were met. I cannot say enough good thing about this hotel and their staff

« Red Hatters Under the Big Top Convention »

This is my 12th year attending the annual weekend convention of Red Hatters hosted by the Best Western Plus Hotel & Conference Center. Our sister Red Hatter, Janet Campbell, Director of Sales, oversees the entire event to ensure everyone has a great time! The staff continually go above and beyond to accommodate their guests! The food prepared by chef Mark Brown and staff, with extremely huge portions, was served hot; very tasty; and with an amazingly great presentation. (It's not easy to please 100+ women, let me just say, and we gave him and the banquet staff a standing ovation!) Other staff members, who I cannot forget to mention, are Sherry Ash; Zee Zee Aly; Eric Reese; Judy Perkins; and son Jamal Perkins. (There are more, but I couldn't get all their names!) This staff works almost around the clock, and are the most gracious and accommodating to everyone they meet. The housekeeping staff ensures that all your room needs are met as well! I've never slept on such a great mattress with the fluffiest pillows! Coffee; tea; along with other amenities are provided too! The lobby bar/dining room and front desk staff will tend to your needs quickly and courteously. As an Origami Owl vendor at this event, they also provide great assistance in this area too. Host an event here, you won't regret it. Vivian Freeman

Check in was very efficient. We were here for a weekend event and we could have not asked for better service, food and accommodations. Rooms were clean and well equipped. Our meals were outstanding and the food service workers were pleasant and helpful. Our event will return next year. Thanks for making our stay so special.

    « Excellent customer service »

The recent upgrade to this hotel is evident. Staff is so friendly and accommodating. After returning to the parking lot at the end of our cruise, we found that our vehicle would not start. New battery a few weeks ago. Went to call AAA but my phone had not been charged, so I went to the desk and asked if they would call AAA for me. I was told as a service there is a maintenance man of the hotel and that this is one of his duties to jump vehicles. He was there in 5 minutes and we were on our way. Have stayed here many times pre cruise and will continue.

    3
    « Mixed »

The people that work at Best Western Plus Hotel and Conference Center in Baltimore, PA are very nice. The reason that I gave a mixed review is because for the last 3 times I have stayed at this hotel, I can't be sure that the sheets were freshly changed as you would think they would be every day (if the room was used). The last 3 times, the bed was made and there appeared to be fresh pillowcases on the pillows, but when you turn down the bed, the sleeping area is wrinkled as if someone had slept there. I gave the benefit of the doubt thinking that it is possible that the sheets are permanently wrinkled from being slept on continuously and then changed, but I have never seen this problem before at any other hotel room. I mean...it's a pretty basic thing to change the sheets every day unless the same people are staying in the room. The first time this happened, my husband was already asleep before I got in the bed, so I grinned and bore it. The second time, we discussed the possibility that the sheets were permanently wrinkled in the 'sleeping' area of the king sized sheets. But the third time, I can only assume that it is regular practice for the maids to leave at least the bottom sheet on the bed from day to day, which is nasty! I mean...really!! This issue has actually kept us from staying at this hotel for the last year, but after trying many other hotels in the area,(that didn't have rumpled looking sheets), this is the only one with a parking lot that is and easy ride to John's Hopkins. But I can tell you. Going in and seeing the same problem after a year...I was disgruntled. All the money they must have spent for the renovations and the maids don't change the bottom sheets (at least of the king sized beds). This last visit also showed that the attached restaurant has continued to decline in quality. Last night I ordered the Turkey dinner with mashed potatoes and a dish of apple sauce (I started with a cup of cream of chicken soup). Well, the soup was so salty, it was difficult to eat. Then after more than a half an hour, I was presented with my entrée. It was a lot of thinly sliced pressed turkey draped over a scoop of mashed potatoes with some gravy over the lot and some parsley sprinkled around the plate for show. Well, this food was so salty that it made my tongue tingle, and the addition of a lot of pepper in the mashed potatoes caused a stinging sensation in my mouth. I complained and they had the chef come out to speak to me. I am not one to complain about things like this, but being a person with CHF, I was appalled by the quantity of salt in the food. This hotel is known to cater to John's Hopkins patients (and discounts for patients are given), so you would think that there would be at least one offer of a low sodium option on the menu. but instead I was served the saltiest food I have ever eaten. I didn't eat more than 1/4 of the food. The chef said he would 'comp' my meal, but instead the price of one of the beers my husband had was removed. Well, there is a difference between a dish that costs 12.99 and a beer that cost 4.00, so I didn't see the 'comp.' I thought that meant I wasn't going to have to pay for the salt fest. I won't even go into the breakfast that is served. I had my husband go and get me an egg mcmuffin at Macdonalds this morning instead of trying to choke down the nasty eggs and disgusting chipped beef. I just can't understand a place serving such reprehensible food. We have been coming to this hotel for 5 years, since I have been a John's Hopkins patient, and the food has continued to decline, year after year. I don't blame the chef. It is obvious he follows orders. I would like to huffily say that I would never come to this hotel again after the sheet problem and then the food, but I am stuck with needing to be able to access my vehicle, so need a hotel with an accessible parking lot instead of valet parking offered at the other downtown hotels. I sincerely hope that these problems are rectified so it is a better place to come. If you are going to cater to sick people, offer food they can eat and for gosh sakes, make sure your maid staff changes the sheets every day!!

very convenient to the highway for easy access. good breakfast, McDonalds across the parking lot...all we needed. very nice room. noisy air conditioning prompted a call to the front desk, they sent up new room keys within just a few minutes. I rented space for a bridal shower and Alesia Daniels eased any concerns I could have had. She was very professional and courteous. The space was beautiful and fit all of my guests very comfortably. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone and I plan on calling Alesia for any upcoming events that I may have.

« Great value near cruise terminals. »

Good hotel, quiet with mod-level amenities. Hotel staff are very nice and knowledgeable about the area. The pool was closed for repair but I received a call days before the trip in case that was a deal-breaker. Breakfast was good. Didn't have time to eat at the restaurant though.

« Any old port in a storm »

It was raining, we were tired and needed a room, the hotel was very busy, not enough parking spaces and room really wasn't ready to be used, no towels or hair dryer. Breakfast was good but we left our seats to get seconds only to come back to a cleared table, coffees and napkins gone.

« Perfect Hotel for Cruise »

I came here driving to get on the cruise. Hotel had the perfect Park N Cruise package. I got the sleeping room for a very good rate and package included parking my car for up to 12 days, hot buffet breakfast and transportation to-from cruise terminal. The hotel is in a very decent shape. front desk were very friendly and helpful. I would come here again.I also had the chance to visit Baltimore Downtown as they have a free shuttle that took me there..wow it was beautiful , i was amazed with all this history and beautiful architect.

« Park, Stay and Cruise package »

We stayed here as part of park, stay and cruise package. Everything went well and it was a great deal! We got to the terminal on time and that was wonderful. Upon debarkation, however, we waited for HOURS to get back to our car. There was one van to go between several hotels and some of the patrons did not want to wait their turn and shoved onto the van. It was very disorganized and not well run.

« Affordable, good range of amenities, hotel staff very friendly and helpful »

Affordable, good range of amenities, friendly staff who promptly addressed our concerns. Very easy check in and the free breakfast buffet was good. When my daughter got a toe injury in the pool they were quick to get us the materials needed to pull the broken foreign body out of her toe and were attentive to the situation, also showed concern for her well being. There seems to be a part of the pool flooring that is broken and separating, however hopefully that will be attended to since it caused a minor injury. Overall I recommend this hotel and we enjoyed our overall stay.

    « A hotel that never disappoints! »

This is my third time staying at this hotel and I enjoy coming back and staying here with excellent customer service I get from the front desk staff, shuttle drivers (especially Kevin is awesome), and restaurant and housekeeping crew members. This year, I particularly enjoyed my room on the 9th floor with a great view to Downtown Baltimore, comfortable bed, and spacious work space. Thank you for making my stay pleasant and enjoyable!

    « Great deal! »

Went to this part of Baltimore for business and were very pleased with this hotel. Yes, it is not the newest one but rooms are spacious enough and well decorated. LCD TV, coffee maker, microwave, fridge and a safe in room all were well functioning.Only the heat/air conditionning unit was really not good:very cold draft coming from above and under the unit...if you really like fresh air! The breakfast buffet was good, the shuttle really useful! We would stay there again.Staff is welcoming and helpful.

« Not as expensive as you would of thought! »

Great hotel, reasonable priced. Great room only $99. and Breakfast was included. It's a conference center and they even have a comedy club. However, that wasn't opened during our stay. Nice small intimate bar with specials.

    5
« Great place to stay before cruise »

We checked into 2 rooms the day before our cruise. The staff were friendly and efficient, the rooms were clean, the parking during the cruise was extremely helpful and the shuttle to the cruise terminal was perfect. We couldn't have asked for anything more.

    3
« Aging hotel in desperate need of updating »

We only spent 1 night at this hotel on our way down to our son's home. Parking was a problem, even with the hotel seemingly not at full occupancy, and there were signs of age wherever you looked, rooms and public spaces. There are probably better kept hotels in the area that I would use instead if we were in need.

    5
    « Amazing Experience »

Thank you for everything it was a very nice stay we enjoyed our time the breakfast was great too thank you for everything the service was great the beds were really comfortable there were great movies and channels on the tv and thank you again for everything.

« So many good features! »

The room was exactly what we needed to sleep 5! Loved the second sink access so that it was still available when the toilet was in use. The kids took advantage of the pool and workout room. The view of the city was amazing and it gave us easy access to the highway when we had to leave. Before we left we had the best breakfast during our vacation!

    3
    « so-so »

We always get the stay and cruise package. Rooms are getting "old." Staff was friendly but person doing reservations could use a little more knowledge as to how cruise shuttle sign up is handled. Restaurant on site is good. Beds are comfortable. Free breakfast so-so.

    5
    « A great overnight stay »

We needed an overnight stay in order to catch an early bus the next morning, leaving our car for a few days. Best Western is the only hotel I could find which does not charge $40-50 per night for cars! Plus, it's an awesome hotel ... very clean ... comfortable beds ... excellent staff.

  • 1
    « Bad »

Loud heating that turned off and on intermittently making it impossible to sleep. Still did that even when I turned it off and ultimately made my interview the next day terrible. Staff was inattentive. Fitness room was very subpar.

    4
    « Over night stay. »

Staff was professional and friendly. The room was very clean and in good order. The location for my business was good. The breakfast was first rate and there was ample food. Food was tasty and well prepared. Would stay again.

    « Check your bed »

When we checked into our room it smelled horribly of smoke. We got in late after a long drive - we didn't complain, we just went to bed. When we woke up in the morning we were surprised to find marijuana between the sheets in my nine-year-old daughters bed. The manager was very nice and did seem genuinely concerned. He also refunded us half of our bill. I am not a chronic complainer, however, this is disgusting and inexcusable. Obviously the room was never cleaned prior to our arrival.

    « Great hotel! »

Beautiful room, amazing deluxe breakfast. Friendly manager. Few issues though, out of four elevators only 1 was working ,they did have fixed by the next morning though. needed some upkeep on the tub, manager made aware said they said they would fix. biggest issue was the shuttle to inner harbor did not have a driver to come pick us up when we wanted to go back had to wait around an additional 2 hours at inner harbor. when I spoke to the manager he said we were supposed to be told to get a cab and they would pay for it, that message was not relayed to us. he did give us 2 coupons for 15%off future stays and he apologized for the inconvenience.

    « PRE CRUISE STAY »

We stayed at this Hotel prior to going on a Cruise. Included in the package was a one night stay, free parking for the length of the cruise, free breakfast and shuttle to and from pier. All parts of the package was excellent.

    3
    « Average Hotel »

No frills. Continental breakfast good. Staff courteous Good for rate close to truck rest area. Free transportation to Harbor that's great. Rooms old but clean. Fitness center basic there was one broken treadmill. Lobby and room furniture worn and older.

    « Average »

The employees are very nice and helpful. This hotel is under construction so can't give a fair review. I wish they would have warned us about the construction and tell us the pool and hot tub were not open.

« Excellent Comedy Show and Food »

My friend and I visited the Best Western for an overnight stay to attend the comedy show at the Comedy Factory. The show and comedians were excellent. I'll definitely go back. We decided to have dinner before the show in the hotel restaurant. I didn't expect much but I was pleasantly surprised at the taste and quality of the meal. We had the broccoli risotto (it had something else but I can't remember what) and it was absolutely delicious. The entire meal was excellent. Shoutout to our fantastic server Angel and Chef Jeramy!

    4
    « night stay »

we stay here for the cruise and stay package. The hotel has a good breakfast nice rooms and transportation to and from the port and easy on and off the highway. The staff was friendly. The only issue we had was one of the computers in the business center was not working.

    5
« Day ahead to board ship »

This hotel offers a package deal which provides free shuttle service to attractions in the area along with parking and shuttle to and from the ship. An excellent deal for the cost. Enjoyable day ahead trip.

    « Great view »

Nice place to stay! We only needed a one niter and my husband picked here. Our son came and met us for dinner and it was quit nice. The view from our 12 floor window was off the chart. very quiet and well maintained. Will come again

    « Stayed multiple times »

Each time I have stayed at the Best Western Baltimore it has been a pleasant experiience. The entire staff are courteous and professional. I have stayed here while being a patient at Johns Hopkins. They have a special room rate for patients which helped us out alot.

    4
    « great stay »

I had a overall great experience with this hotel. very satisfied with the customer service, the manager at the bar gave my dinner on the house once same found out I worked in the government. also same thanked me for my service to the community. I felt very appreciated ad was treated with the utmost respect.

    5
    « Always Good! »

Have stayed here many times primarily for the Johns Hopkins Shuttle and discount. With small exceptions, I've always been pleased and won't let a clogged sink or the fitted sheet on the bed being inside out keep me from going back.

    3
    « BW - Baltimore »

The room was spacious. Bed was comfy but my room smelled like smoke. It's a non smoking hotel?!? Hmm The food in the restaurant was fantastic and very reasonably priced $11 for crab cake. Big surprise! It was convient located to go where you needed to go. Weird because it's in a industrial area and a BJ's there. But I felt very secure as I am a female traveling alone which is a bonus in my book.

    1
« Dirty with stains on Sofa »

Old facilities and room. Sofa is very dirty we didn't even try to sit there as it look very filthy. AC is old and makes loud noise. Hotel didn't provide sleepers. Room is dark and need to be remodel. Toilet and bath amenities are good. Good thing blankets and sheets are clean.

    1
« Windows do not open - mold in AC. Dated facility. »

I have previously written well of this location, but no longer recommend. It's a perfect location and provides easy shuttle system to and from the port for cruises, leaving car in their parking lot with park and cruise package. We love that! Associated KD transportation company was very helpful, prompt and maintained excellent communications prior to cruise. And bus was ready and waiting as soon as we get off ship for fast return to our car. But hotel is increasingly dated. Free breakfast buffet was acceptable, but dining room is dreary and dingy. The dinner buffet for added cost was dreadful and not very appealing. Bed has long since seen good days. Both of us woke with back spasms which ruined our cruise trip. AC/heating unit in room was poorly maintained and triggered a major allergic reaction for me, further spoiling our cruise and return home as well as medical expenses. Window does not open for fresh air. Employees at front desk are friendly, but not very helpful ... provided inaccurate information about the transportation.

    4
    « Great location & Value »

Hotel is located near freeways and a new mall. Large spacious parking lot. Hotel is well positioned to conduct your business or purpose. Nice view of the city from the higher rooms along with breakfast made this a pleasant and worthwhile stay.

    1
« Why is this ranked so high »

This hotel is an awful trucker motel on the side of the highway in the middle of an abandoned area. There is nothing around here and the hotel it's self is run down featuring tape holding the lamps together, cob webs on the ceiling and low pressure toilets. There appears to be a large contingent of people who just live in the hotel walking glassy eyed in the halls. Despite this horrible hotel, for some reason there were a lot of families staying there. The restaurant is also surprisingly good.

    4
« great place to stay in Eastern Baltimore »

Convenient, clean and great staff. Rooms were very clean and quite new. The breakfasts were great though somewhat unchanging. The location in east Baltimore was perfect. I would stay there again without hesitation. Wish that the rates were a bit lower though.

    « Upset and Dissapointed »

We booked this hotel for 3 reasons - Pool, Shuttle, and Breakfast. Upon check in there is a note on the counter saying the pool was unexpectedly closed for renovations....Expedia and BW should have notified us (and other guests) that during our stay there would be no pool. We booked this hotel with the pool in mind for breaks during our daily activities. My family was extremely disappointed...We would have changed our hotel if we were notified...Someone from BW should have looked at guests staying during the time range of reno and sent an email alerting us...but no... We also wanted to use the complimentary shuttle but then were told we could not bring our stroller with us?? There is a trunk in the Van and the stroller folds up, but agian, we were told no. So now we had to pay $12 toll + parking each and everyday to go to the inner harbor...Again, this was very disappointing. The breakfast was fine and served it's purpose. The room was dark, outdated and just old. Nothing like the website showed. We called in advance to confirm there would be a crib in the room and we were told definitely a crib....when we checked in, we were handed a pack and play....You can imagine how many times our son was up during the night... Although the staff was courteous, we would never stay here again....Very disappointing experience....We just got home and I'm very upset about the whole situation.

« No heat, extremely noisy, and unfriendly staff. »

Came to visit sick family and stayed at this hotel. Hotel was extremely noisy, unkempt, and the heat didn't work. Terrible!!! Plus the price quoted want what I was charged. Don't stay here. Pay the extra money and go somewhere else.

    « Cruising »

Chosen for stay park and cruise package. Staff very friendly and helpful with free shuttle to harbor and suggestions for dinner and things to do. Was under going some repairs, but nothing major. Pool and hot tub broken, and was disappointed not to be able to use. Nice breakfast buffet included.

    3
    « Friendly staff »

The staff were friendly . My wife made the reservation for handicap room with handicap tub. We got a room with standing shower. Per Casandra there was an error on the computer that is was showing our room was handicap. She gave us another room. The shower railing was too low to reach and get into the tub. We asked from front desk for a good seafood restaurant they recommended Jimmy's seafood restaurant which was 5-7 minutes the food and service was excellent.

« Smells of stale cigarette smoje »

Had our rooms (2) changed, so can say that the 4 rooms we were assigned smelled awful. Ran to nearby Target for candles, Febreze, etc. Unknown hair on my daughters pillow. Has declined since 2011 when I stayed the last time for a week. Was there for surgical orocedure at Hopkins. Shuttle was nice. Restaurant is standard fare but at least you have that with a bar to get out of your room. Pool was closed. The smell was a deal breaker for me. We needed 2 rooms close together and with each room change we were getting further apart. Couldn't spend all evening bouncing my 81 year old mother around to find rooms that smelled decent. Very disappointed.

« Another cruise, another hotel night »

This is the 4th time we have stayed at this hotel prior to our cruise. It extends our trip by a day which is good and knowing that we can safely leave our car for the week and worry about nothing is great. We had a decent room, a good breakfast and left in the morning on the shuttle feeling relaxed and ready. We already know that we will be staying again next year for our next cruise. Thank you.

    « Never Again »

My husband and I have stayed here in the past with no problem so I felt comfortable booking our overnight stay on October 7th for our cruise. We were doing a B2B cruise returning on the 22nd and the price was right. So many people had warned me that this particular property had really gone down hill and we should steer clear of it. I wish I had listened. Not only did the refrigerator knock loudly all night long and keep us awake, but around 5:30 am we discovered when other people flushed their toilets it was coming up in our sink. When my husband tried to flush our toilet it also came up in the sink. We headed downstairs of course not being able to shower or use our bathroom. The manager after calling the head of maintenance to make sure we were telling the truth agreed to refund our stay and not card my credit card for our dinner. Since we had paid with gift cards he said they would mail us new ones. I checked my visa card three days later when we had docked in Nassau and low and behold someone had tried to charge my card 3 times for around $ 350.00..from The Best Western. When we got back on the 22nd we went into the hotel. They told us they were waiting for accounting to handle our refund..couldn't imagine how someone could have charged our credit card. She told us that our refund should be in our mail when we got home. I called her the following Tuesday as we had still not received our refund. I said if I did not get it by today Friday 10/27/17 I was going in Trip Advisor to advise people to stay away from this hotel.

    « Evaluation of Stay »

My overnight stay was fine; since I wrote on a chartered bus and did not personally travel in car, it was sort of disappointing that there were no nearby shops. While eating breakfast was turned off seeing three (3) dogs in the area where food was being served. My preference is to not be around animals while eating; not sanitary in my opinion. I rated cleanliness average due to this discomfort;; however the rooms were cleaned to satisfaction.

We stayed at this hotel for the stay and sail for our recent cruise. Excellent service from the hotel staff and shuttle service. Shuttle driver was friendly and helpful in getting us to the port on time. Would definitely recommend. Breakfast was superb. Everything was at right temperature and very clean.

« Pleasant and reasonably priced »

I always stay here when I visit Baltimore for business. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The rooms are spacious and clean. The price I had previously negotiated with someone from their in-house sales department is very inexpensive. I won't be using it on this trip but the hotel shuttle to the Inner Harbor is a great feature.

« Close to Johns Hopkins hospital »

My husband and I stayed at the Best Western while our son had surgery at Hopkins Bayview location. We had a delicious free buffet breakfast every morning, and a free shuttle took us back and forth to the hospital. Our room was clean and comfortable. We had a yummy crabcake dinner at their restaurant one evening. I would definitely recommend this hotel!

« Markham Chapel Baptist Church »

My husband and I really enjoyed our stay at this Best Western Plus. The entire staff was professional, courteous and took every opportunity to go over and above exceeding our expectations. Beginning with the check in staff, shuttle driver through the Lady providing the complimentary breakfast. All made us feel as though they were glad we selected their facility. Our room was clean everything that was supposed to work did just that. I would have rated the stay a 5, except there were not enough available electric outlets in the bredroom area Mr and Mrs Kenneth R Wilson

    « Wonderful housekeeper »

Housekeeping was very helpful I calling to management immediately upon our departure as wel had left some newly purchased business clothing hanging in the closet. We were called immediately and returned to the hotel. This was a real life-saver. The housekeeper should be commended for her honesty and quick response.

« Great Rate! Great View! »

For my 21st birthday, a couple of friends I decided to make a weekend trip to Baltimore to see the Baltimore Orioles as well spend a night out in the city. BW offered us the best rates and our room window had a gorgeous view of the city. I took A LOT of pictures to say the least. The front desk was very courteous and the continental breakfast wasn't half bad either. I will definitely come again in the future.

    « Very unpleasant stay »

Well, first things first, we checked in and went to our room. Had to use the bathroom right away from being in the car for our trip there. Sat down on the toilet and right in front of me was a cockroach on its back ALIVE trying to flip himself over. I went to the front desk after lugging all of our things up to the 7th floor and insisted we have a new room immediately. They did accommodate us with a new room 5 doors down which seemed cleaner. Later on that night after we came back from the harbor, my boyfriend, daughter and I changed into our bathing suits to go swimming. (Mind you, I only booked this hotel for the indoor pool so my daughter could swim) The pool was closed due to someone vomiting in the pool and it wasn't cleaned up. Oh not to mention, I went to the bar in the restaurant in the hotel for a 6 pack to go and the bartender asked me, ?To go where?? Ummm to my ROOM where else? Also they charge per bottle for 6 packs which would probably round 30-40 for a SINGLE 6pack. The manager did discount our room at 15 percent but we will not be back!!!

Another weekend at the Best Western Plus. In the last few weeks, we've gotten new paint, hall carpets, furniture, the sauna is being repaired and landscaping has been spruced up. The Comedy Factory is packing them in every weekend! Waitress is planning on asking if they could bring the Chicken Pot Pie. Best to date I've had in all of Baltimore. Will let you know when it's back!

Got this room for a fair price but was a horrible experience. 1st room we got, the fridge was leaking water out all over. Plus the room smelled, old. The next room was better but the whirl pool tub did not work. The pool was very warm! Breakfast was poor. Food quality was bad. Not many options. Won't stay here again

    4
    « Affordable. Convenient. Clean. »

My friends and I booked a two queen bed, non smoking, room on Booking.com for about $110. We went to the Ravens game and utilized the free shuttle service offered by the hotel. The hotel is not near the Inner Harbor but the shuttle service that runs every hour takes the hassle out of transportation. We spent the entire day in the city and called the shuttle to pick us up and bring us home. The room was clean and we had the free breakfast. The food wasn't great but like I said it was free. All in all a good experience and would certainly book again with the Best Western in Baltimore.

We just had an over night stay but the hotel was super. Rooms were fresh and clean, the lobby and hallways were in good order. The breakfast was a pleasant surprise also. We parked our car in the rear of the hotel as we went on a boat cruise and the cost of that parking space was well worth the money. Great hotel!

    « A bad experience »

I stayed here for 3 nights while in town for a conference. The hotel has some nice features but appears to be badly understaffed. Positives - Bed was clean and comfortable and front desk staff were pleasant and helpful. Unfortunately there were enough negatives that I would not stay again. When I arrive in my room it seemed the previous occupants had been in the room after it was cleaned or it wasn't cleaned well. There was garbage in the trash can and crumbs on the area where you put your luggage. No big deal. There was a coffee maker but no coffee. There was tea so maybe it was a tea maker. I had to go to the front desk because there was no shampoo only lotion and conditioner that was partially used but I don't use it. The room was worn and the office chair at the desk had stuffing coming out of the back. The room was noisy, I go to bed early and you could hear every door close through the night. The gym was basic and there were no towels one day and when I went there dirty towels on the floor left by somebody before i arrived at 5:00 Am that had not been cleaned up. One night in the restaurant that had maybe 9 tables occupied it took an hour for our group to get five orders of grilled cheese sandwiches or soup. Apparently there was a lot of room service and our waitress was responsible for taking food to the rooms. I felt bad for her as she was stressed and one customer started yelling at her because he was there an hour and somebody who came in after him received his food first. The biggest issue I had was on the last morning when I had breakfast. When I got to the bottom of my coffee which i poured from the coffee urn I thought there were coffee grinds. As I looked closer it turned out they were pieces of bugs with a small black bug laying on the bottom of my cup. I can only imagine how many bugs had been through the food I had eaten for the four days I was there. I had three breakfasts and two dinners!

« Rooms are starting to look a little tired. »

This was our second trip to this BW. I was very impressed the first time when we were here 3 or four years ago. This time I thought that both our room and our travelling companions room looked tired. Great location for the park and cruise. Breakfast was also better last time - it was just ok. I'd still go back though because of the location.

    3
    « Just okay »

I stayed at Best Western because it was in an okay part of Baltimore. The first thing I noticed when I walked into the washroom was a hair in the sink and hairs on the floor. However, the sheets and towels seemed clean enough. The breakfast was average for a 2-star hotel, but the juice machine was out of order, and the milk was not kept cold. On a positive note, the front desk staff was courteous, and the location of the hotel was convenient.

    5
« Great place, great price »

We stayed here to attend the Baltimore Book Festival. Best Western offers free shuttle rides to Inner Harbor (although you really should tip the driver! They provide a wonderful service). The hotel is clean and comfortable. There is a complimentary hot breakfast in the morning. This is where we stay when we visit Baltimore, and we have never been disappointed!

    3
    « Enh »

If you need a place to stay, it's decent enough. Comfortable beds, but the place does need some updates. Food at the bar is decent. the breakfast buffet needs bacon. I wouldn't walk around these streets at night. Baltimore is known as a lovely race-friendly town afterall.

    3
« Not my first choice »

Not the nicest place. I did not care for the location. But that's on me. I had no clue about city zoning so to say. The name of the hotel threw me off. "Conference center" - I thought it meant a convention center. it is not the case. Older hotel. Staff not very knowledgeable. They did offer free breakfast and room was relativley clean. Overall, you can stay there, not too horrible. But knowing what I know now, I'd go for a different property if it'd cost me more.

    5
    « A great place to stay »

We had appointments at Johns Hopkins and they recommended this hotel. We were provided free shuttle service to and from JH. The room was clean and comfortable. The restaurant offered free breakfast of sausage, scrambled eggs, grits or hash browns. They also had fruit, bagels, muffins and waffles. We ate several dinner meals there and the food was very good. I highly recommend the cream of crab soup!

    1
    « Don't stay here »

This was one of the worst hotels I have ever stayed at. They offer free parking while you are on a cruise, but you are better off paying for parking elsewhere. The staff was not responsive to complaints we made.

    5
    « Pre-cruise visit »

Arrived on Sept 6,2017. We stayed there to use the Park n' Cruise that is offered at this location. As it turned out, the location did not work out well for us. The traffic was horrendous coming in to Baltimore at the time of day we had to arrive! From now on we'll do as we had done before. Leave 95 for Hgwy 301 to LaPlata, stay at the Best Western there, & then drive the hour it takes to get to the ship the next morning. No traffic delays--less stress.

    « What a dump »

If you stay at this facility, expect to be amazed at the poor conditions of the facility, the odor in the rooms. Expect to smell drug use as you walk down the hall to your room. Bottom line, do yourself a favor and stay elsewhere.

« Bringing forgotten college stuff »

My husband & I took a trip to Baltimore to bring stuff to my son that he didn't pack for college. I found this hotel on trip advisor and picked it because of the reviews and rating. We weren't disappointed. The hotel itself is quite large, with plenty of parking available, a spacious lobby with a seating area. The check in was smooth. We booked a king bed in the executive tower. The room was larger than a normal hotel room. The room was clean and had a love seat for additional seating. The bathroom had a granite shower enclosure and granite counter top. There was also a door to enable you to have an adjoining room. The air conditioning worked well. The water pressure in the shower was fine. We had a view of the backyards of the neighborhood adjacent to the hotel. But the view at night with the city lights was pretty. I would book this hotel again in the future. The complimentary breakfast was very nice. The dining room is quite large. There is a restaurant and bar on site. The food is delicious and the service is efficient. The only complaints I have--there were no washcloths in our bathroom and only 1 garbage can in the room.

AC made noise cutting on, toilet ran all night and the hot tub was broke. Room was clean, bed was comfortable and staff great.. The breakfast had a big variety, plenty of seating and the food never ran out, also it is until 10.

The halls and rooms were not clean. In the restaurant, the water server gave me "attitude" when I complained that he not pick up my drinking glass by the rim of the glass. He definitely is not in the right job there. The hotel was also located in a very depressed area of the city. Don't go out after dark.

Room 603 I stayed at the Best Western Plus Hotel & Conference Center at 625 O'Donnell Street Baltimore MD 21224 on August 9 thru the 11th 2017. I left a few shirts behind and I have called this hotel on and off for 3 weeks and requested a way to get my clothing sent to me in Ohio. Every time I get directed to someone that might help' I get voice mail or a promise that someone would call me back. NOTHING HAPPENS!!   All I want are my shirts back. I have been told they are there.   Will someone please help me? Michael Leers

    « Don't care attitude »

Room was not cleaned on one occasion. The asst. manager was more interested in proving it was my fault because I left the privacy sign on the door too long rather then alleviating the situation. We left the room by 12:15 pm on that day. I asked to speak to the manager, but he never got back to me. When I told the asst. manager, he told me the manager had many things to do. It took 30 minutes and three phone calls to get fresh towels on the day of the problem. I might add that when the room was ?cleaned?, it was never done properly, cups and trash left and not vacuumed and dusted everyday.

The staff was helpful with my stay and accommodating me while I travelled. The room was cozy. There was a restaurant at the hotel which is helpful. There is a fitness center and restaurants located around the area. It's decently priced and good if you are staying in that area.

« Room and staff OK. Overdue for remodeling. »

The first room we were in had a broken refrigerator. We were given a different room. That refrigerator worked fine. Both rooms had problems with the TV reception which I believe is a satellite system. We were told that the reception is poor on some channels and cannot be fixed. The two rooms were across the hall from each other. I tightened the cables in both room and the TV improved a great deal but still had several channels that had poor reception. The rooms and hallways show serious signs of old age that needs to be repaired or otherwise updated at least on the 9th floor. Some of the electrical receptacles show damage. We were there for medical appointments over two days. Having the room amenities working correctly would have been nice for the patient in the family. This was just a little more stress added to the trip. Overall, we are satisfied and this motel is very close to the doctors office. We will probably stay there again but will also look for somewhere else that may be better for us.

Enjoyed the shuttle service to the Baltimore inner harbor immensely, it made our stay so much more pleasant.. The staff was very helpful. The drivers were very accommodating. The location of the Best Western was right near the exit of I 95

« Excellent hotel for cruise goers »

My family stopped here for a night before the cruise, and I feel very lucky that we did. The amenities are nice, there is a shuttle to the harbor and a drop-off and pick-up shuttle to cruise terminals. There is an option to park the car or (as we did) there is Avis and Budget office 10 minutes walk from the hotel. We dropped the car before the cruise and then in 10 days picked it up again to continue the vacation.

« Nice Hotel- great for cruisers »

We stayed here prior to our cruise. The room was nice and big but it could use an update in decor. Also, the outlet between the beds didn't work (the outlet holes were too big for my phone charger to stay in)- not a huge deal but kind of annoying to have to charge my phone across the room. We had breakfast, and it was fine. Nice to get a free meal with the family right there prior to leaving for the cruise. We drove here from Western NY and took the shuttle to the cruise port the next day. We were given a time to report to the front of the hotel to board the shuttle and move our car to a long-term spot. The hotel and transportation company seem to have this down to a science. It was nice to have transportation directly to the cruise port without having to park far away. When we came back, the transportation company was waiting for us with a sign. They dropped us off in the back of the hotel, right near our car. I would absolutely stay here again, especially if I was going on a cruise out of Baltimore. -There is a Panera and McDonalds nearby. Also a Harris Teeter grocery store.

    « Bad »

Check in was the worst. You could not understand what the manager was saying. We went to our room and dropped off our stuff. We left for about 5 hours and came back to find the housekeeping was in our room. The room was already clean so I was very upset to know someone was in the room. I could not sleep the whole night worried that someone was going to come in while we were asleep. We don't plan on ever going back.

« Best Hotel Stay Ever! »

Best Hotel Stay!! The view from our room was amazing. All the staff were pleasant and happy! They had a free shuttle which transported you to various locations. Took you to the city and picked you back up which is extremely convenient compared to most hotels. The continental breakfast was one of the best I've ever had! With eggs & sausage or biscuits and gravy, along with waffles, donuts, pastries, fruit, cereal, etc. Quite nice compared to most continental breakfasts at other places. They had a nice workout room. The rooms themselves were nice and most importantly clean! They had a comedy club on site which gave you fun entertainment if you didn't want to travel to the inner harbor on the weekends which was an added bonus! Would highly recommend to friends and family. Will be back again! Thank you Best Western!!

    « Recommended for cruisers »

This Best Western has a great deal for cruisers leaving out of Baltimore. They have a stay/cruise deal that lets you keep your car in their lot and shuttles you to the cruise terminal and back again. Very busy hotel, but friendly people, clean rooms and very comfy beds. It worked out great for our cruise.

    « Not a Good Experience! »

Stayed at hotel for a family reunion. The staff upon arrival were not friendly...Hardly looked at you or smiled. The hotel is old and needs ungrading. The biggest complaint I have was the elevators. Sometimes they would not move, floors would not light up. A repairrman was there working on them. The rooms could been cleaner. Our shower knob was broken. Not a good experience. Will not stay there again!

    « Disappointed this time! »

We had stayed at this particular location two years ago, and did not have problems. On this trip, we had a family group...needing several rooms, so we recommended this hotel to our group. We were extremely disappointed this time! The rooms were smelly, dirty, had dirty towels, broken pull out sofa...really unacceptable. The restaurant service was extremely slow for dinner, and had run out of several choices. We were embarrassed and very upset. The managers seemed to "skirt around" our complaints; poor business management.

« Great for group activities-- family reunion, etc. »

Planned our 2017 Family Reunion here. The catering service is excellent. Discounted rooms and meals along with free breakfast. The family used the shuttle to visit Inner Harbor and surrounding area. Others went to movies. Everything is a short drive or shuttle away. This is a perfect location. The staff is polite, friendly, and efficient. The rooms are clean and cool. The beds are very soft so beware if you have back issues. The one and only knock I have on this great place is the waiting line for the on site comedy factory. It is a fire hazard and accident waiting to happen. The waiting line loops into a dead end hallway ( about 150 feet deep by 8 feet wide) so there are 2 rows of people facing each other. Any emergency would result in people being trapped and trampled. We had to walk down the middle of this mass of people leaving our banquet in the Canton Room. It was very uncomfortable and some thought we were trying to cut the line. This group also blocked elevator access.

« Birthday Surprise or Regular Trip »

I booked through hotels.com so everything was pretty much set and done or so I thought. Besides the front desk clerk who at first asked, was I sure that I "booked at this hotel?"and then In the same sentence found my reservations, it was a pretty good stay. For the price of the stay, it was pretty okay with my membership except when we wanted to stay an additional night it was about 95 more bucks then the first night so we ended up switching hotels. I informed them that it was my girlfriends surprise (26th) birthday party and we would be arriving in 2 days (I was going crazy looking for a way to set up her gifts upon arrival) when I called to ask if I could come in a day before, they said, "no" to that idea due to not knowing which room would be available and I understood their reasoning. I then asked if they had any balloon services that could help or any shops near by that they may have been in partnership with that could help with my surprise; with all this going on and questions being asked back to back, no one thought to mention there is a gift shop within the hotel...... (I found that out once we got there) I also asked if I found a service that delivered and got them sent to the hotel would they be able to set them up in my room for me? They stated they "can not set the balloons up prior to my arrival" or offer pretty much any help with the surprise. However, they did state that I "could have them delivered to the hotel" but they would just be at the front desk waiting pretty much. Once we arrived, I wasn't even informed the hours of the hotel restaurant, bar, when breakfast started or where, not even given a map for the area or asked where did i travel from. The front desk was pretty dry and I didn't even get asked about the surprise party I called in prior to about or even asked was I visiting from out of town? I was PRETTY MUCH just given a room key card, parking voucher, and told "this is the internet password" (gift and curse of looking like a kid and being 4'9" I guess) because the guest who arrived after me had much more interaction and laughter and I'm as jolly as they come. *ANNOYED SHRUG* had it not been for me doing research before our stay I would have been mis-informed and bored out of my mind in our room for our stay. (I drove in from out of town might I add) as bummed out as I was that things weren't going so great, I still enjoyed the rest of my surprises that were planned and crashed as soon as our heads hit the pillow. we didn't even have time to try the indoor pool but when we found it, it was pretty nice too look at. Maybe in the near future we can offer a birthday package or at least a little more help with a guest event??? word of advice to visitors: DO RESEARCH AND ASK LOTS OF QUESTIONS BEFORE YOUR STAY!!!

My car broke down in the BW parking lot as I was getting off the exit to go to McDonalds. It was about 12:45am and I went to the desk and told the gentlemen at the desk my situation and ask if a room was avail with 2 beds. He said yes and offered me the AAA rate since I was waiting for them to tow my car in the morning. Great service!

« comfortable bed, could have been cleaner »

The breakfast was awesome and the beds were very comfortable. The draperies were moldy, shower curtain torn, carpet filthy and the vending machine dispensed warm soda. I called the front desk for eating utensils and a half hour later went down myself to get them. The "coffee pot" in the room only included decaf. Went downstairs again to get a cup and was told they "take the coffee down" at 7 am. REALLY? Its a shame, this hotel has a lot of potential, but needs attention. Perhaps staff training as well.

My daughter and I come frequently to Johns Hopkins for appointments and there are several options for motels from Johns Hopkins. Since our first stay, we've always stayed here. Very easy to work with and the shuttle service is awesome! Kevin, Moudy, Omar...all are very nice!

    « Carpets »

Clean the carpets, it looks as if they were never cleaned in10 years, or maybe replace them. there was a strange smell on my floor (7th) floor to be exact. unfortunately the smell carried over to the room. I can deal with certain smells so to say but I can see where it would bother others. the restaurant needs updating as well and the steak dinner I had tasted like a pork chop.

    « BAD »

This place was terrible. The toilet ran water all night. The only reason I booked it was because of the park/cruise deal that they were having. The HVAC system did not cool the room properly. I booked a room for 5 and the pull out couch was the worst. Do not stay here.

    « Business trip »

Sleeping area was nice, bathroom was old and dated. Lots of noise heard through the door. You could actually hear people across the hall in their room with the door closed. Breakfast was sub par, lunch was average. Comfortable bed. Like most hotel chains, the main lobby is not a reflection of the rooms.

« Nice Hotel - but basic services and room was very humid »

This was a stop as part of a road trip with my family, the hotel was located in a great spot giving us easy access to Fort McHenry and the National Aquarium. The hotel had a decent buffet breakfast, wish there were more healthy choices but it kept us fed. Our room was very quiet and had plenty of room but the humidity was out of check and very damp in the room making sleep a little uncomfortable.

    4
    « Very Good Accomodations & Service »

I stayed in this hotel for nearly three (3) months while undergoing cancer treatments at Johns Hopkins during late 2016 and early 2017, and was impressed by the quality of the accommodations and service. As a veteran business traveler in North America, I would consider this facility as being among the best -- excellent proximity to downtown (15-20 minutes) with secure parking and many options for dining.

    « Eh »

m usually nice when it comes to reviews. This hotel is convenient if you need to be in this area. Check in was a breeze. When I got in my room the water was off so I had to wait til they finished whatever they were doing to take a shower. Yes they promote that they have HD TVs but none of the channels are in HD. I had to keep my TV on a high volume to hear it because the raggedy air conditioner was loud. My toilet had stopped up (not my fault) and they seemed to not care. I had to call the front desk numerous times. So I guess the maintenance man refused to fix it so they moved me to another room. The comforter had stains/burns on it and they refused to change it. Then in the mornings the elevators wouldn't even work. There was literally a line to get on the elevators after breakfast. Out of 4 elevators 2 would work and none of them felt safe. The hallways on all the floors were hot. I dont think they believe in air conditioning the hallways. So yeah thats my honest review. They do have a comedy club which is one of the few positive things about this hotel if you dont wanna go far for entertainment. Thats my honest review about this hotel.

    « Excellent Pre-Cruise Stay »

We drove to Baltimore from Ontario Canada and chose this hotel based on reviews, easy location, park and cruise as well as the fact that it's a Best Western! The hotel was very easy to find because it's right off the highway. The front desk staff were very friendly, welcoming and helpful. We were told where to park for the duration of our cruise, were given our "ticket" for the hotel arranged transportation to and from the pier, our breakfast vouchers and our room key. Our room was perfect. It was clean, comfortable and what I've come to expect from the BW brand. The beds were so comfortable and the toiletries were great. We didn't use the breakfast vouchers because we were tired from the long drive but we heard it was good (there is a McDonalds literally in the hotel parking lot so if you miss breakfast, you can grab something there). Our ship was delayed and the hotel made sure we had somewhere comfortable to sit and beverages while we waited. The shuttle to the pier was air conditioned and large enough for everyone to fit. After the cruise, the shuttles were waiting for us and we were brought back to the hotel parking lot where we were told to leave our cars. We didn't have to wait or call for the shuttles!! We have another cruise booked next year and we will be returning to the hotel! Thanks for a great start to our vacation!

    « disappointing »

We reserved a king but got 2 queen-sized beds. Reported a noisy AC and were promised a repair but nothing ever happened, so 2 nights with clunking noises. Our room wasn't cleaned until we called twice in the evening and requested at least a change of towels. The water had to run so fast in the bathtub in order to get hot that the tub was nearly 6" deep in water by the end of a shower. The BW rewards program was explained as having to accumulate 20,000 points in order to get a free night. That's over 200 visits!! Seems pretty useless. Needless to say, we won't be back.

« Working hard to make guests happy »

This was the only reasonably priced hotel close to an early morning medical appointment far from our home. It is big and in a funny, largely industrial but becoming more gentrified part of Baltimore, easily reached from the major highways. The building is older. It is clear that the staff and managers are doing their utmost to keep it running well and clean, and in my view they do a very good job. Our room was upgraded due to carpets being cleaned on the floor we had first been offered, and we found it to be spacious, quiet, clean and comfortable. The staff were immediately responsive to questions and requests. We were also just minutes away from many good restaurants, and found a great one in Little Italy. I'd definitely stay here again.

« Be careful when reserving rooms »

I reserved what I thought was a standard room with 2 beds for 3 people. However, when I went to check in I was informed that I was reserved for a handicapped smoking room. I insisted that there was a mistake but the lady at the desk told me that's what my reservation was and offered an upgrade to a non smoking room for $10. I told her no to leave the reservation as it was and continued to give her my information to compete the check in process. However then she says "oh there's a non smoking room available". My mistake was not clarifying that she was not charging me for the room but the way she said it I thought she was switching the room because of the mistake. But when I got home (to another state) I saw my credit card was charged $10. So I called the hotel thinking they charged me for something else in the room but was informed by the manager that the $10 charge was for the upgrade. I started explaining to him that it was a mistake but he didn't even want to hear anything and was going back and forth with me until I just hung up and called The company I originally made the reservation with. From speaking to that representative it was explained to me that when I made the reservation the description of the room said "accesible" which means handicapped. Even though that was my mistake I am upset that the representatives at Best Western would not even give me he benefit of the doubt and argued with me on the phone. In a customer service business one should know when to pick and chose a battle. If I were the manager I would have waived the $10 fee and said something like "ok ma'am I see there was a misunderstanding but I hope you enjoyed your stay otherwise. We hope you'll consider us on your next trip to Baltimore." If I had a response like that this would have been a different review. Instead my conversation with him left me with a bad taste in my mouth for that Hotel and I will not stay there again.

« Stayvaway from the hot tub and the afternoon shuttle lady »

So, last minutet decision to go to Baltimore, looked for hotels and decided ok this seems like a good choice. Free breakfast, free shuttle to points in the city, sounds good to me, indoor pool and hot tub, enev better. We get there late the first night, but that was ok. Kids rested, we slept getting ready for a long day. Breakfast was pretty good the next morning, typical hotel free breakfast, not bad. Morning shuttle ride AWESOME!!!! The morning guy ROCKED, he had a great personality, the ride back, NOT so much. Lady picked us up, she was on time so that was good as scheduled. Her personality was the worst. She was the face of Best Western at that point and has I not already paid for the night I would have left, yes because of her. She didn't say hello, didn't ask how our day was, she was totally MISERABLE!!! THEN she is foing 80 miles an hour back to the hotel, i was glad we weren't killed at that piint, or pulled over for speeding. The thought we would go relax kids in pool us in the hot tub. Got in there, the hot tub was nasty, dirty, green and smelled of who knows what, and it wasn't chemicals. Needless to say stay away from the hot tub, and ask when it was cleaned last.

We frequently stay at Best Westerns & are always more than pleased. Sadly I cannot recommend this Baltimore hotel. Yes, the lobby is fine & the desk personnel were very helpful, but once we got off the elevator, things went downhill fast. Stained carpet, rock hard mattress, dilapidated blanket, worn furniture, dripping faucets, & rusty tub jets. Very disappointed.

This Best Western is in a very convenient location off of I 95 just North of the Harbor Tunnel. Not far from downtown. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. I would stay here again if in the area.

    « Good Night's Sleep »

This hotel is not in the best area of town (industrial area), but it was close to where I needed to be and apparently they have a shuttle service to some of the tourist areas. It is pretty run down, but the bed was comfortable and the front desk staff was courteous, and for the amount of time I was there, it was fine. I think they should invest in some upgrades/renovations because it really is in need of some repair. My room, while it had an awesome view, had some signs of wear and tear. But, I could overlook it because I'm not all that picky as long as the room is clean (it was) and the bed is comfortable (it was). Despite its location, it was also nice and quiet; I was on the top floor, facing the city, so the view was great. I didn't use the restaurant or any of the amenities, so I can't address those. I found it odd that the housekeeper (Antonia) decided to remove my "Do Not Disturb" sign and push it under my door before she knocked...? Anyway.... All in all, it was satisfactory.

when i arrived at the hotel after driving seven hours to get there the room i booked was not even ready. so i had to wait three hours. then when i come back and go to the room it smells like mildew. and the NUMBER ONE REASON for me even booking this hotel was the advertised mobility bathtub that did not exsist. I could have and would have stayed at the hotel closer to my venue had i known this. it even cost less for me to stay at the other hotel, but i needed a bathtub for handycap so i paid for this hotel. then when i asked about it i was told it was my fault for using booking.com to order the room and would have to take the matter up with them. i asked for a room with a tub and was told i could not change rooms. i was miserable in my own skin from the heat of the city making me sweet and not being able to bath. The pool had a nasty foam on top of the water with dead skin floating in it. it was nasty. the hotel would not provide me with a number to contact about my booking and would not honor the price guarentee when i said i could go to another hotel cheaper if they was not going to honor what i booked. staff did not care. the breakfast was very poor. i only ate it the first day. the eggs were runny, you had to cook your own pancakes and waffles and the fruit had fruit flies all over it and the pastry deserts. i left and ate out. this hotel IS NOT WORTH YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY!!!

We traveled and stayed at Beat Western because we had dr appointments at Johns Hopkins. The rate was reasonable and the shuttle service was a plus, taking is to the hospital and to the harbor. The restaurant staff and desk staff were very welcoming.

    « Horrible and disgusting »

The receptionist guy didn't seem like he wanted to give me any service. The room looked nice until the next day I was in the shower when a roach was crawling on the wall very disgusting I went to the fitness and pool area which was very very very dirty no one cleaned it at night or during the day the breakfast was dissatisfying

    « nice hotel »

I stayed here for weekend while visiting Baltimore to see Baltimore Orioles baseball games. It is a nice hotel overall. It is located a ways away from the downtown area but includes a free shuttle service that gets you to Camden Yards and the inner harbor or to John Hopkins hospital facilities. It has free parking. Rooms have good rates. It has a very acceptable hot breakfast included. Overall this is a great value. There is a McD's restaurant accessible from the parking lot (drive thru only at night while I was there) for a quick hamburger

« Good stay despite mixup with booking »

We stayed here for two nights. After the first night we came back, hot and tired and couldn't get into our room! I called the desk and was told firmly that our booking was for only one night. (It was not). We had to go down to the front desk and wait in line to sort it out. Luckily I had a confirmation email showing that we had added a second night to our reservation , a month ago. Finally, it was sorted out, but it was a frustrating experience. The room itself was very nice and comfortable. We will stay here again, but you can be sure that I'll make sure they have our reservation right when we check in.

Every employee we had contact with was outstanding. They were always willing to help you when requested . The shuttle service is excellent, to the John Hopkins Hospital and also to Inner Harbor. Unable to say enough good. .

The hotel is located a convient distance from various sites and restraurants in Baltimore. It has convient aneminities and superior quality and savings. Parking is free and the personnel are friendly.

« Would not stay again. »

Went here based on the options for John's Hopkins patients. It was in the middle of nowhere/McDonald's parking lot. I would not have left the hotel at night. It did not feel safe. The hairdryer was broken. The TV was hard to use with a remote(?). The breakfast was limited. Not impressed. Not sure how AAA gave it a diamond rating and it is more like a 2 start hotel than a 3 in my opinion.

« Cruise Shuttle Arrive a day early and relax »

Had a great experience, arrived a day early for our cruise out of Baltimore. Spent the night, our hotel stay included breakfast and shuttle from hotel to the cruise ship and back again. We were able to park at the hotel while on the 7 day cruise, a great package deal for an incredible value and supper convenient service. My family was very pleased.

    « Pre Cruise Stay »

We stayed one night at Best Western Plus Hotel & Conference Center the night before boarding our cruise ship. The hotel is easy to locate. The check-in was easy and the front desk staff were friendly. The room was decent, clean and comfortable. There was a free shuttle to take you roundtrip to Inner Harbor and a couple of other places. My only disappointment was the fact that I had to pay extra for parking my car at the hotel until the end of the cruise. Honestly the only reason I booked Best Western Plus was because I read in a review that free parking was included with stay. Much to my displeasure was being advised my front desk clerk that if I had booked directly with Best Western instead of a third party I would have saved $50. If you go on a cruise and you need to park your vehicle at Best Western Plus, book directly with Best Western. You get a great room, parking and a shuttle ride to the port but you need to book directly with Best Western.

    « Back again »

I was here about 4 years ago and thought that I would give it another chance. The staff is good. I had booked a smoking room by accident. My wife asked if we could be changed to a non smoking room. The desk clerk moved us to another room, but did not tell us that it would be another $25 a day. The room are in good shape and it has what you will need for your stay. I may stay here again.

    « Maryland holiday »

The hotel provides everything you would need for a stay in a hotel - we really enjoyed our stay there. The people are very nice and polite and would assist you. The hotel is not located in the downtown but if offers a free shuttle on every hour to four points in the city as well as a pick up option upon request.

    « Staff was incredible »

My husband was in Johns Hopkins 3 different times and I stayed at Best Western while he was being cared for. The staff at the BW cared for me. They became my family away from home. I can't say enough about how incredibly kind and thoughtful they were to me through these times.

    « Hotel was Ok »

The hotel is not downtown as it says. It was a distance from downtown and we had to take cabs everywhere. The hotel itself was okay. Nothing special but nothing wrong. The breakfast was good and had lots of choices.

    « Dirty place »

Needs remodeled before they allow anybody to come to this place it's makes best western look bad and I work for best western. There was something floating in the toilet when we got there. Burn holes in the sheets dirty carpet land the room looked nothing like the pictures they have online.

    « Great for Cruisers »

Hands down, this is the best stay if you are taking a cruise out of Port of Baltimore. Nice, clean room, breakfast in the morning, shuttle service if you want to venture to the Harborfront, and the "Park & Cruise" shuttle service to & from the port while your car is parked free at the hotel cannot be beat.

    « Unhappy customer »

I have stayed at this hotel many times on business. Normally have a great experience but this past time I learned a little bit on why this hotel has such a poor customer rating dispite being a nice complex. I was charged $40 more than I normally pay because they were sold out that night and could get the price. I asked the girl at the front counter why my price was more than normal and that was her reaponse. Like I said hotel was sold out. The parking was tight. I found a spot that just happened to be in front of a charging station. There was no sign indicating electric cars only. There was room for a car to have pulled up and enough cord I figured if a car needed to hook up they could. Why they even have this and not at the rear of their lot is beyond me. It's right up front in one of the most convenient spots. Anyway I was called from my room , after relaxing for about an hour, by security and asked to move my car. I told him there is no sign indicting the spot is reserved just incase you have a guest that has an electric car that comes in. This spot is right up front, if they are gonna have charge stations they should be in the back of the lot not up front in your best spots. I was over charged and felt this was a petty issue for them to pick with a customer. I checked in the morning and the spot was empty so they had no guest come in with an electric car but they do have a pissed off returning customer that may not return.

    « Great value »

I was in Baltimore for the Preakness and although the hotel is a little out of the way, it was just a short drive to all the places we were going and the price is right. I would definitely recommend it and stay there again.

    « Attended a brunch »

The overall hotel is nice. Though you can tell that it is old once you get on the upper level it is well maintained. The room where the bruch was held was one of the smaller rooms but it was comfortable and accomodating. The hall toward the banquet room needs more attention as far as new carpet and furniture. I visited a sleeping room and though you could tell that it was under maintainence it was impressive. The hall carpet was very nice and the room was very nice. I was visiting a room on the tenth floor facing the city which had a nice view.

    « Worst Hotel Ever »

This was by far the WORST hotel I've ever stayed in. I will NEVER visit another BW again. Service was terrible, room was unacceptable and there were bugs(roaches) in the room. The manager on duty who I was told was the only one who could do something about the room was NEVER available to speak with. When I did speak with her(Dinisha) and tell her about the issues with the room, she said she'd look into it and call me back. I've YET to receive a call from her. I WOULD NOT recommend this hotel to my WORST ENEMY.

Arrived Baltimore (Best western Plus Hotel) on 3rd April 2017 at 3:3pm. Checked in room 920. Receipting was very welcomed by Mr. Tamer Omar. Room was excellent for both me and my son Abdullah. The hotel is clean and reasonable price too. We love it because you feel home.

« Excellent hotel for patients of Johns Hopkins Hospital »

Stayed at this hotel because it partners with Johns Hopkins Hospital and offers a reduced rate and shuttle service to both Johns Hopkins and Bayview Hospital as well as to the Inner Harbor. It also has a restaurant on site which is very convenient. The staff and shuttle drivers are very pleasant and helpful. The floor that we were put on could use some updating, but it looks like they may be preparing to do that. We will definitely be staying there again when we my husband returns for another 3 month check up.

    « Pleasant hotel close to I-95 »

I appreciated the many amenities that the hotel offers, but thought the execution suffered. My room had a refrigerator and microwave (which I didn't use) and a coffee maker (which I did), so it was well equipped. The bed was comfortable for me. Although the hotel is close to an exit from I-95, it was just far enough away that the traffic noise was not audible to me. It has a restaurant/bar that serves breakfasts (price included) and dinners (extra, of course). And there's a fitness room that I didn't visit so can't rate. There's not much in the immediate vicinity but the hotel is around 15 minutes by car from Baltimore's Inner Harbor, and a similar drive west on O'Donnell street brings one to an area that is rich with restaurants and bars (including two Irish bars on the same block). But there were just things a bit off kilter to keep me from rating the place more highly. When I first arrived, at 9 PM on a Thursday (with a reservation), there was some confusion about whether a room was available for me and it took about 15 minutes before I was finally checked in (there was a smoke-free room available, but I didn't think it should have taken 15 minutes to figure that out). As others have mentioned the hallways are fairly dingy, although it appeared that the walls in my hallway had been painted recently, so perhaps they are in the process of upgrading. There's nothing to see out the windows but the freeway, some parking lots, a nearby McDonald's, and the back side of some row houses. My bathroom didn't have a bath mat two of the three nights I was there (the first and third; somehow a bathmat appeared on the second day but then vanished again). The coffee packet I used one morning was not replaced, so I couldn't make coffee the following day. The restaurant's dinner was undistinguished (I wish I had gone to McDonald's, but I was tired) and it has a very limited wine list; it helps if you like being called "Hon". Breakfast options were extensive, so you wouldn't leave hungry, but again the quality was middling. There's a large parking lot with free parking, but it's shared with the Baltimore Comedy Club and the weekend evenings I was there, it was difficult to find a convenient parking space while the club was open. WiFi was available but was so painfully slow one evening that it timed out while I was trying to download a newspaper to read; other times of day the speed was adequate. To summarize: The hotel is located not too far from interesting parts of Baltimore, though the immediate area is run down, it has easy on-off access to I-95, was good value, had a number of useful amenities (fitness room, restaurant, free breakfast, refrigerator and microwave), was clean if a bit shabby in areas, and was quiet. Apart from my check-in issue, I found the staff to be prompt and helpful in all my subsequent dealings with them.

« The facility is tired and in need of upgrade »

The water was so hot could not even take a shower, need to be repaired or someone will be seriously injured. Water temperature should not exceed 110degrees.they need to hire a plumbing contractor To go through every room and check water temerature

    4
    « Conference Facility »

The facility was clean and comfortable on the inside. The conference room served its purpose. Recommend the smoking zone not be so close to the entrance. Have to pass through cigarette smoke to enter the building. As a result, the exterior needed to be scrubbed of cigarette butts and other evidence of smoking. Also, the facility may consider hiring a landscaping service to cut grass and neaten up the exterior.

    3
« Good Value and location »

The hotel is serviceable, located near enough to the Baltimore Harbor area. The room size is adequate, with micro/fridge in each room. Breakfast is also adequate but not great. Rooms and hallways could use an update especially for carpeting.

« Great for before and after cruising. »

This hotel is a great place to stay if you are planning a cruise out of Baltimore. The room was great. Everyone at the front desk is so helpful. They partner with a limo service that you can take to the port for a reasonable fee. They also have a Best Western limo free to Inner Harbor and Johns Hopkins and a few other places. Our ship came in quite early so we thought we would have a long wait till check in time. They were wonderful and had a room that was ready and let us check in early. We highly recommend this hotel. By the way the breakfast is great!

    « Never stay here »

During a month long road trip we spent a night here. When I arrived home I found myself billed $150 for smoking in the room. Neither of us smoke and would never smoke in a room or even stay in room that smells of smoke. I tried to get this removed from our bill by calling the main Best Western number to no avail. I called the hotel and was told it was because the house keeper smelled smoke we were billed. What a scam.... I will never stay at a Best Western again. Beware of this hotel, they are liars and cheaters.

    « Hospital visit »

    « Great!!! »

Besides the truck stop across the street my stay there has and is always great. Just alot of trucks when you to try to go out. Other than that it was great. Huge parking lot. Even has a McDonalds in the fron of the parking lot which is helpful if you need something quick...

    « Good accomodations for 1-2 nights »

    « Best cruise passenger stay-park-cruise package »

It offers the best stay-park-cruise package for cruise passengers. One night stay before our cruise on Royal Caribbean Grandeur of the Seas on this package. It is a well known package for many guests. The transportation was operated by KT Elite on 11 passengers vans. Although so many guests need to go at short time period, it is well coordinated in efficient and enjoyable manner. The hotel is not located in a best neighborhood, but not a bad neighborhood either. The hotel has secured its back entrance and put up steel bars around its side walls. There is no good restaurant nearby, other than the one on site, operated by the hotel. But this was not a problem for my family. We took takeout food and ate comfortably in room. Breakfast is good but not superior, no problem we will have good food on our cruise! Average room. Clean and functional. Some spots need maintenance.

    1
« Not a great place - misleading advertised prices »

Stayed here on our way North - my Best Western Rewards app stated the price was $98.99 a night - when we arrived to check in we were charged $159.00 night. The clerk was very nice but stated the price hike was due to people checking in that were going on a cruise the next day. We also had to sign a waiver for our vehicle releasing BW for any responsibility if damage or theft occurred to our vehicle. The room was on the 10th floor and was not in very good shape - very worn and smelled like it had a water leak. Will pass this place up next time we travel.

    4
    « Good acomodations »

Good hotel and the staff was very attentive. I like the fact that they have shuttle service to downtown at different times and you can use it to visit the city comfortably. The only problem we had was that apparently, the water filter of the pool was broken and the water was cloudy.

    4
    « Convenience... »

We loved the convenient location of this hotel. It is right off the interstate with plenty of parking and a free shuttle to the Inner Harbor. Check-in was easy and Erwin was very helpful with my may questions about our shuttle to the Cruise terminal. The cream of crab soup in Tradewinds Restaurant is probably some of the best I've ever had. The free breakfast offers plenty of options so no one should leave hungry. This hotel is a great value and we will definitely stay here again.

    « Not that great »

Decent location, but neglected property. Didn't feel safe. Front desk staff helpful, but dealt with a dismissive manager. The hallways are dark and the carpet sticky. This hotel is a venue for a comedy club and attracts a local crowd not staying on property.

« Reasonable hotel for price »

We were touring and used this hotel as our base, which worked well for us as free shuttle to the downtown area worked well and save with parking fees etc. This hotel also has stay and park for cruise guests and is close to the big hopkins hospital (also free shuttle ) so it nice that the hotel isn't empty and cold, we felt save and secure at all times, if you like burgers there is one right next door (maccy D's) good view over towards Baltimore from front facing rooms (ask at booking in) breakfast is OK

    4
    « Good experience »

We were staying there for a visit to Johns Hopkins Hospital, Bayview Center and this hotel was extremely close to that site. As well, they have a shuttle that will drop you off and pick you up. The Johns Hopkins Hospitality suite was also open this time. It was not open the last time. It was great. Anyone needing to go for medical appointments I would definitely recommend this hotel.

« Cruise pacakage with transfers and parking »

Cruise package and free transportation to and from the Inner Harbor made a great stay. Cruise transfers are to / from Port of Baltimore and includes parking. This makes using the port easy and convenient. The breakfast is much better than most complimentary breakfasts and well serviced by the staff. Very caring staff are great to deal with.

My wife & I have used Best Western hotel & Conference Center,Baltimore for our last 3 cruises out of Baltimore,Md. On 12-10-16 we have reservations at the hotel,The great thing is they use KD Elite services to take you to the port & they are so efficient taking you to the pier & bringing you back to the hotel. Parking up to 30 days is included. We used other hotels before we discovered Best Western & none were nearly as good as Best Western Conference Center.

« Incredible Front Desk Smiles & Service »

We check in and all we saw was beauty. From the floors to the smiles on the faces of the front desk. Omar, the weekend manager, went above and beyond the scope of his job description. Omar did so many incredible things for me that I will never be able to thank him. For instance... The shuttle starts to run at 7:00am to Johns Hopkins Hospital. I had to be at the hospital the next morning at 5:30am. Omar made sure that the shuttle would definitely have me at the hospital by 5:20am. So many things Omar did that I cannot list them all. I want to also point out Nayeim who works at the front desk. He is a very kind and gracious man. Rosa, is a cleaning lady who I witnessed her do several things that she is so due recognition for. The restaurant bartender, Ivanna. What an amazing lady. Makes the BEST bloody marys and has a shinning bright light that makes her glow. She has a beautiful outlook on life and is truly a teacher. Thank you Ivanna. I do have to say that I would like all of the employees to receive recognition please. Most importantly Omar for EVERYTHING he did for me and my boyfriend. We will always stay here when we are in or near Baltimore. Oh... I almost forgot about the delicious strawberries. My words can't do Quiesha's strawberry shoppe justice. Her cousin Monica works at the shoppe sometimes and again... another successful business, based on divine chocolate, cheesecake and so many other dippings or coverings on the strawberries and the first bite will surprise you that something so incredible is available. Awesome business and product!!

    « Customer Mindful Hotel »

I Highly Recommend The Best Western Plus & Conference Center In Baltimore Maryland. The Management & Staff Are By Far The Most Customer Mindful, Professional & Courteous Of Any Place I Have Experienced. This Hotel Is Nicely Furnished, CLEAN & Has A Fantastic Variety Breakfast Bar. AWESOME Attentive Front Desk Staff ...

    « Unpleasant Experience »

Very unorganized front desk staff, our bedding was HORRIBLE, torn in places, bed spread on upside down with tags in your face, only 3 pillows on a queen bed that should accommodate 2 people, and they were extremely uncomfortable, the beds were noisy every time you switched where you were laying it sounded like you were laying on plastic wrap...., you could tell people had smoked in the room before, especially after showering. The parking was ample, our food we ordered for dinner was sub par.... but the service from Ivona was very good, our shuttle ride in to town was extremely scary because of the driving... but our ride back was a different driver and was substantially better, finally our toilet "ran" all night unless you took the top off and manually pushed the stopper down, I wasn't calling the front desk at 130am for that... all and all I wouldn't recommend.

« Tools Stolen from truck »

.We were doing a job nearby and during the night in the hotel parking lot our pick up truck was broken into and all the power tools were stolen from inside truck and in back of truck. Between 3- 4 thousand dollars worth of tools plus broken driver side window. Hotel security wrote a report, for what? The hotel didn't care. The manager didn't even have the courtesy to call me back. After we finished the job we stopped in the hotel on the way back home to see the manager, still not there and still never called me. Very frustrating and total lack of respect. Do not go there.

« Going on a cruise, great place to leave the car »

We love this place because we can leave our car there while we are gone, their shuttle driver will find you a great restaurant and tell you about the city. Besides all that they have an indoor pool, exercise room, comedy club, buffet breakfast and a outside group who will take you to the port and pick you up when the ship returns. The rooms are good size with a safe, refrigerator and coffee pot.

    « Great stay »

Stayed here before a cruise. Got ten miles from hotel and relized I forgot our passport. We were 100 miles from home. Called for late arrival. When we got back to the hotel and I told the gentleman at the desk our story he said the least we can do is upgrade you. Everything was grerat, breakfast was goo, shuttle was good and they were waiting when we disembarked. I would absolutly recommend this hotel

nice Hotel to stay at for the park and cruise you spend the night get up rested and they take you to the cruise terminal hassle free and the same on the return of the cruise liner Carnival Pride. The vans are there waiting for you and return you to your car parked in the hotel parking lot.

« Wonderful stay at Best Western »

I had so many options of places to stay while in Baltimore and I couldn't have been happier with the choice of this hotel. If you have family at Johns Hopkins, this is a wonderful place to stay. This hotel offers a discount for hospital families and they make sure that your stay is as stress free as possible. They run free shuttle service every hour all day and into the evening. Shuttle drivers are supportive, helpful and caring. There's a real sense of family, of caring and of support from all staff associated with this Best Western.

« Great location to everything in Baltimore »

We stayed at this hotel because of the shuttle service to the Port of Baltimore and free parking while on the cruise. The Location was center to everything around. Getting the Inner Harbor was a breeze and also close to Camden Yards. Our room did face a highway but the noise never bothered us like some reviews stated. Our King room COULD of used a little bit of a deeper clean. Some stained furniture and rugs. Overall the room met our needs when looking past the cleanliness. Our King bed was comfy, tv was perfect size. The room was quiet for the most part some noise from the floor above. Also we we had a microwave, mini fridge and basic appliances. The free breakfast was great too. When cruising out of Baltimore again we will stay here again!

« Worst service and overcharging of card »

My husband and i and another couple stayed here the night before we sailed out on a cruise. Stayed sat. Night. Sailed for a 7 day cruise next day. We were Charged on our charge card one nights stay plus a round trip shuttle for transportation to the cruise ship. When we returned from our cruise and i checked our charge card we saw they double charged us. Once on oct 15th (our stay) and again on oct. 20th. When i called the hotel to explain their error i was told we stayed two times with them. This was impossible as we were out to sea the 2nd time we were charged. They said they had no record (lie) i told them i was looking at the statement and showed it. They wanted me to fax or send it. I was at the airport and could not do that yet the first person i spoke with said they saw the charge twice. My husband and i argued with staff and the manager about this overcharge. They were rude, not truthful and not helpful. They had taken a copy of our card when we stayed which i was not happy about. But they said if i didnt allow them to make a copy i couldnt stay there. Everything else was booked at that point. I booked 6 months in advance with a promise of us getting free transportation to the cruise ship. When we checked in i was told we had to pay 20.00 for the shuttle. Staff was rude and said i must have " misunderstood" i have booked 14 cruises always spent the night and always ask the same question about the shuttle. Got nowhere. I would NEVER stay at this hotel. The same exact overcharge happened to our friends who were with us on the cruise. Right now we have a complaint in and our charge card is checking them for fraud. Worst service ever ar this hotel. Do not trust them!!!! They kept changing their story with the overcharge. Said they would get back to us. Right now my card has a charge of 141.00 that should not be there. Very frustrating!

    « Sorry I picked this one »

Needed a one night stay. Hotel looks dirty. Upon check-in, towels hanging in bathroom had makeup on them. Carpets look filthy. Bathroom floor is disgusting. Toilet running for very long. Only one light bulb in fixtures that required two. Mind you, the other bulb wasn't just burnt out, it was missing. I guess it would look really filthy in bright light. Would not return.

« Very nice and comfortable rooms »

Hotel is easy to get to, and the staff is quite good. Easy check-in and easy check-out. Our room was a king bed suite-very nice and comfortable. Snack machine located on the floor for midnight munchies.

« Decent rooms but service was awful, hot tub drained »

My mom and I spent a week here when my daughter got married. We chose this one for the location, the pool and spa, and restaurant in the hotel. The rooms weren't bad but there were some issues. The TV remote worked intermittently so we let the front desk know. They said they'd send someone up with a new one. Three days later we mentioned it when we had to ask for towels. That time someone did bring them up. The room was only cleaned a few times while we were there and we had to ask for towels. And they only put one washcloth in the room each time so we had to ask for more. The pool was pretty clean but the water was way too warm. Not very refreshing. And it's only five feet deep. The spa had been drained (apparently a while ago) and there didn't seem to be any rush to fix it. Breakfast was excellent, better than most hotels. There was a variety of food, hot and cold, and plenty of it. The wifi service was so spotty we couldn't even use it. It's in a convenient location right near a few highways. There's a McDonalds right across the parking lot and a truck stop a block or two away.

    « Average Hotel »

Simple but clean hotel. Spent 2 nights for a friends birthday in the city. Great shuttle service to get back and forth into the city included! No need to drive back and forth trying to find a parking spot while in down town. Would stay again.

« Very good place to stay »

Spent one night. My wife had appointments at Johns Hopkins. Front desk staff very friendly and helpful. Room very nice and quite clean. Shuttle service to the hospital was great, and also took us to the Inner Harbor as well. Parking was free, while at many hotels that alone would have cost $35 or so. The breakfast buffet was extensive and very good. Our only complaint was that when we were going to eat in the restaurant after we arrived that (and there was very few people in it) we sat and waited so long for the waitress to come around that we gave up and left. Would certainly stay there again.

« Average hotel with a bonus free shuttle service »

The hotel was average. The free breakfast was good. Nice variety to choose from. The staff were very helpful and polite. The building was a bit out of the way, so a drive was required to for supper. The bonus was the free shuttle into the waterfront with Victor. He was a very friendly and funny guy. We really enjoyed the drive into town. The waterfront was a beautiful setting for supper and Victor picked us up as promised at the agreed upon place and time. If you are staying here, i do recommend taking advantage of the shuttle.

    « Cruise and Park »

Stayed here for a couple of nights before our cruise. Provided van shuttle to Inner Harbor. Very efficient. Allowed us to park our car for the duration of our cruise. They contracted with a transportation company to take us to cruise ship and bring us back. Great! Hotel could use some refreshing but clean with breakfast provided and restaurant open for dinner.

    3
« Great Place to Park, Sleep and Cruise »

We took advantage of a park, sleep, and Cruise website to book a 2 night stay at this Best Western prior to our cruise. The price included parking during our cruise and a shuttle to the port and return. This worked very well, and we will use it again. The hotel also offered a shuttle to the inner harbor which we used the first day of our stay, and it was equally efficient and courteous. The room we had was furnished as most Best Western Plus hotels are, and was certainly acceptable. The hotel is not new, and the carpets are worn and dirty, but the overall cleanliness was acceptable. The free breakfast was very nice, providing eggs, waffle/pancakes, fruit, The free internet was more than acceptable for web access and email. Access to the hotel from I95 was easy, and the service was friendly and efficient.

    « Very nice stay. »

I reserved the room at the very last moment for my wife's medical needs in Baltimore, which is over 2-1/2 hours away from home. When I arrived, I learned that I messed up and reserved a non refundable night for the wrong night! The gentleman at the front desk made the necessary change and fixed up with a very nice room. The Hotel was only about 10 minutes from the medical facility. We will go back... almost every month for the for seeable future.

« Okay place to rest for a night. »

We just needed some place to stay that wasn't too far from Ft. McHenry, so this fit the bill for a reasonable price. It was in a truck stop neighborhood and it looked like it needed some TLC. I'm not sure if they were trying to renovate and just hadn't gotten around to everything yet, but the lobby had rather shabby furniture despite the good bones of the check-in area. The room was fairly nice and the rate included a full breakfast buffet in the restaurant, which was very good. The TV was sub-par, not HD.

    « Horror »

When arriving at the hotel, situated in an industrial and shady area, I was told that i had a smoking room reservation. I did not, it was clearly specified non-smoking, but the reception clerks insisted it was an error from the third party (booking agency). Once on the 8th floor, the smell of tobacco smoke hit me and the room itself was feeling like a smoking den. Windows were not opening. Back to the clerk, the answer was "feel free to cancel your reservation" What I did.

    « Park-Sleep-Cruise with Transfers »

We always stay here for long cruises. Great Hotel - clean - friendly - great cream of crab soup and crab cakes. One of the main reasons is their close location to the port and the fact that they use KD Elite Transportation for the transfers to and from the port. We have sailed out of Baltimore almost 20 times and for us the decision is easy for our selection on where to stay.

    « Business »

I write this review as I am sitting in my hotel room, completely disgusted, and I would probably leave if I had another option, but unfortunately I don't (I can assure tomorrow I won't be here - or never again!) I'm on the Executive floor. The most expensive floor. The bed is comfortable. But that's it. The hotel is old. Very old, and in desperate need of renovations. There are stains all over the room. On the carpet, on the couch, you name it. The vibe is bad. I work in hospitality, and I've stayed in bad hotels before, but this is terrible. As I walked in the room, I could smell old carpet that most likely hasn't been vacuumed in ages. As I'm hoping to not find any more surprises, I find someone else's hair in the bed. And the sheets smell as well. So I call the front desk and ask to switch rooms, and they send a housekeeper up to change the bed sheets. Needles to say, I keep finding more "surprises". And again, someone else's hair was on the bathroom floor, the toilet paper is the cheapest, and the list goes on and on...to the point that I would never walk bare feet in this room. At this point, all I want is my 4 hours of sleep before having to rush to work in the morning, and NEVER be back here again. Ps.: the ONE star is for the bed. Or maybe I'm just so tired I think this bed is great.

    « Visit - Park - Cruise - Perfect place »

Perfect place for parking while cruising - Excellent service of shuttle to and from port and to go downtown & Harbor of Baltimore - Breakfast is good nothing special but all you need coffee, juice, fruits, hot and cold food. Room is fine, clean, bed confortable, we stayed 2 nights. Would definitively go back if visiting Baltimore.

    2
« No Bugs on Smoking Floor »

Being a last resort hotel at a major convention, we were pleased to get 3 rooms in the same place. Carpet in halls and rooms is worn out. There were bugs in bathroom, and carpets did not seem clean. Free shuttle was in non air conditioned vans, with very small windows on 80 degree days. Was told best floor was 6 because bugs will not go in smoke.

    « A great stay near Baltimore! »

This hotel is very reasonably priced. The rooms are clean and the beds are comfortable. Hotel staff was very helpful in setting up shuttle service to Inner Harbor (on the hour) and then in picking us up at Inner Harbor (one the half-hour). The breakfast selection was excellent. We really enjoyed our stay and will definitely stay at this Best Western in the future.

    « Good Choice »

We were cruising from Baltimore and decided on Best Western because they offer the Park/Cruise package. The hotel room was fine, the breakfast was good, and we felt safe leaving the car in the back parking lot. A good choice when cruising. Margaret

    « There's no place like home! »

We can't even remember how many times we've stayed here pre-cruise but we can tell you this: it is always a pleasure. From the friendly and efficient check-in to the shuttle pick-up post cruise it was another flawless experience. The location is not well suited for strolling and there's not much to do nearby, but the shuttle will take you downtown to the harbor area. We usually arrive late afternoon after a long drive from upstate New York so we call out for a large Soprano's pizza and just chill. This place is perfect for our park and cruise needs.

    « Rich 51 - Personal Business »

The hotel has very good amenities. Convenient location - easy to get to and not too far from downtown. Very nice upscale continental, well presented with a very good selection of items. It is priced a bit higher than some of the other comparable hotels in the area but still a good value considering the amenities. I would give it 4 stars.

    « Great relief »

As we were starting our cruise, it was so nice to pull in, settle down for a quiet evening of relaxing before starting our vacation. It was nice to come down and meet the KD Elite team who efficiently got us to the cruise port and meet us directly after the cruise taking us directly to our vehicle.

« Nice hotel - nice to have shuttle service »

We chose this hotel so that we'd have shuttle service to downtown, since we were attending a concert at Royal Farms Arena. Our room was very nice - clean and well appointed. Shuttle service runs on the hour - our driver took us to Inner Harbor, but showed us where he'd be picking us up after the concert - in front of the Convention Center. Our only complaint was that, after the concert, the McDonalds across the parking lot from the hotel wasn't open (closed at midnight) and we were hungry. Being unfamiliar with the area, we asked the gentleman at the front desk for suggestions for where we could get food. He said there was nothing open at this hour - and handed us a take-out menu for a pizza/sub shop. He gave some other guests the same menu right afterward. We decided not to order, and - amazingly - the next morning noticed as we were leaving that there is a TA (truckstop) just across the street, within walking distance! We find it odd that this option was not mentioned to us since anyone who works at this location would be well aware of its existence.

« My hotel of choice when I come to Baltimore »

My friends and I come to Baltimore once a year for football and ever since we discovered this hotel,it's the only place we stay. They have amazing crab cakes and their cream of crab soup is so good! Always plenty of food during breakfast, and lots of seating. My only complaint is that they do not provide shuttle service to and from the airport. The best way to get there is to get on the light rail, get off at convention center and give them a call to pick you up.

    4
    « Outstanding Restaurant »

The hotel itself is about average. When I stayed, they were in the midst of doing some updating and upgrading, and I think that will help. The restaurant, on the other hand, was outstanding! Most hotel restaurants food does not taste fresh, that was not the case here. The cook, Jeremy, prepared amazing food that was fresh and full of flavor. There's enough variety on the menu where even with a two-week business trip I was never stick with the same thing. I ate dinner at the hotel every night and was satisfied each time. Prices are extremely reasonable, portions are perfect, and service was top notch. Angel took care of me several times and was always friendly, prompt, and even checked with the cook on certain dishes due to my allergy to gluten. The taste of the food was amazing. They had some of the best tilapia I've ever had! With a little TLC in the hotel, I would rate this at five stars.

    « Value? »

Selected this hotel for the value during Labor Day weekend to see the Yankees vs. Orioles game. Best features: friendly reception staff, free parking and shuttle service to Inner Harbor & Convention Ctr (across from Camden Field ballpark). Be patient with shuttle service as it will be delayed due to traffic conditions. The not so good: on this particular weekend only 1 of 4 elevators worked, even though we were on the 11th floor, took the stairs on more than one occasion. Requested a non-smoking floor, yet the hallway reeked of stale cigarette smoke. The room, though clean and with what appeared to be new furniture had a nasty odor. Mostly likely as a result of the carpeting which looked as if it has never been shampooed. Extremely loud air conditioning unit. Comedy Club located in hotel, expect to see crowds on the weekends that take up parking spaces.

    « Best MES »

Cons: 3 of the 4 elevators were out on a Holiday Weekend, My extended family booked rooms and payed for the park and ride for a trip out of the Port of Baltimore. Had to carry bags down 9 flights of stairs along with many others. Spoke with people coming back to hotel, was informed elevators were out the prior week before we left and during the week we were gone. Lobby (men's) rest room has broken and clogged toilets avoid them. 50 percent of the room we booked had a musty smell (mine was fine) Pros: The hotel has an agreement with KD Elite shuttle service to and from the port and they are wonderful to deal with. That shuttle has your back and wont let you down. Highly Recommend them. The breakfast the hotel offered was decent and had a nice selection of food. Directly off the I 95

    « Surprisingly very nice »

I've traveled quite a bit and when booking a Best Western it's always with a bit of hesitation. But this hotel far exceeds any other Best Western I've every stayed in. Everything was great. And it didn't take long to get to the Inner Harbor either. That is, not in the off rush-hour traffic. The only thing bad I have to say is their pillows were too fat and too solid. I even heard another guest at breakfast saying something about it. But, I definitely would book this hotel again.

« Great for cruisers that drive »

If you are taking a cruise and drive, this location is great for a good nights rest, complementary breakfast and transfers (included in the hotel cost) to and from the cruise port. Although the transfer is with a private company, it is set up in the lobby and runs efficiently. Do check your time of departure from the hotel (provided by hotel) when you go to breakfast. the timings may be updated and you can get out earlier.

« Well past its Best Before Date »

My son and I checked in late one evening last week. The courteous staff at the desk seemed to be having an issue assigning the room. Once we had our keys we proceeded to our room on the 10th floor. One of the four elevators was out of service and had caution tape in front of the door along with full size poster ad for the aquarium. (Noticed that the elevators had been inspected some time ago and the inspection notices expired on Sept 1. They were gone from the elevators on Sept 2) We tried the keys and neither one worked. My son went back to the front desk while I waited with our bags, He came back with two more keys which also did not work. Then a female voice from behind the door told us that there were already people in that room. Lucky for us it wasn't someone with a gun behind the door....we could have been shot for trying the door. Went back to the front desk and we were then assigned the room next door to the room we had tried. Someone apparently didn't update the reservation system to show that the folks in the other room had not checked out. Once in the room, we found it to be okay. Seemed clean, linens clean but some of the furniture was worn and the arm of the chair ripped. Beds were comfortable enough and the bathroom was sufficient. On the way down to breakfast in the morning, I noticed that the exit sign on the ceiling was hanging by the wire. The cabinet in the hall near the elevator looked as though it had been picked up in a rummage sale. On exiting the elevator, three police officers and a police K9 were waiting to get on the elevator. That was a nice touch. The breakfast was good and had a variety of options. On the second morning, they had run out of plastic knives and said sorry. When housekeeping arrived at 8 am on the first morning we were there, they thought we were checking out (our room didn't have a "Do Not Disturb" sign so we were at their mercy). I told the housekeeper that we would be staying the extra night.I guess she thought that meant I didn't want the room made up since when we returned everything was the way it was when we left in the morning. The hotel is well situated because it's just off I95....easy to get into and out of the downtown and Inner Harbor. This hotel is not awful but it needs a lot of work in order to be a place that I'd return to. I replied to Best Western's survey email and got a form letter from the hotel for my trouble.

when you stay at a best western hotel, the manager told me that the services offered at the hotel may not be included by the hotel if you booked thorough the website. also you room charge may be higher. I was told the only way to get the services and prices is to book through the hotel directly

Overall, .the room was tight and the original bed linens had to be changed. It smelled of burnt hair. The refrigerator leaked. The service for room cleanliness was adequate after the linens were changed. The hotel was close enough to the hospital that we were visiting.

    « A Pleasant Experience »

We chose this hotel due to the proximity to John Hopkins Hospital. The staff was very accommodating and friendly. The shuttle provided service to the hospital, inner harbor and convention center, which was very helpful. We didn't have to worry about the price of parking or where to park when traveling in the city. Overall it was a great experience.

« Best Western Plus Hotel and Conference Center »

Our room was clean, as well as the bathroom. The staff was helpful and friendly. I would recommend that the owner of the facility update the lobby furniture. It is worn and dingy. The furnishings of the restaurant need to be updated also. The hallways of the 7th, 8th and 9th Floors smelled very bad. I believe that the carpeting needs to be replaced. The hallway furnishings also need to be updated. The complimentary continental breakfast was very good. The pool and hot tub are adequate. I would rate this facility as average-not the worst hotel, but certainly not the best. If I visit Baltimore again, I would not stay here.

    3
    « Great Hotel value »

I booked a room in this Best Western due to it close proximity of my customer and the reasonable rates compared to the expensive hotels in downtown Baltimore. I found the hotel staff to be friendly and helpful. The morning breakfast was fine considering the room rates charged. The only negative related to the hotel is that the furniture was old and needs replacement (e.g. the sitting chair in my room was dirty and was ragged). I did notice however that the hotel is undergoing some remodeling and it appeared that furniture was being replaced. Overall, I would stay at this property again due to the overall value.

« nice hotel close to downtown »

Great location to downtown and all the stadiums. Bed was good, just stayed the one night and have back issues so all beds are a little uncomfortable to me. The breakfast was decent, fresh fruit and you can make your own waffles. Staff was very helpful and very accommodating to our needs. I would stay again.

    « Best BEST WESTERN!!! »

By far, one of the best Best Westerns I have stayed at over the past several years. The staff were amazing, the rooms were great and check-in was quick and easy! The breakfast staff were courteous, food was great, the hotel lounge was amazing and enjoyed it. Great hotel, great location in reference to the Inner Harbor and surrounding areas!

    « Barely tolerable »

Lobby area was OK, nothing special. Room was clean, but on the smallish side, and furniture was tired and worn. Bathroom was clean & modern, but again smallish. Oddly, housekeeping took away our used bathroom linens, but never replaced any. We were down to a towel each, and no bathmat or washcloths by the end of our 3-day stay. Air conditioner was extremely noisy, but at least it worked. There was no AC in elevators or hallways, which left us dripping with sweat by the time we reached our room. Key cards malfunctioned repeatedly, which meant extra trips back to lobby just to be able to access our room. Staff handled graciously, but was very annoying, especially after the first time. Completely inadequate number of functioning elevators. Long lines to get on, and stops at practically every floor added several minutes extra time to every trip. Parking was OK on the first night, was a nightmare on Friday and Saturday nights. Simply nowhere to park near the hotel. On the plus side, highway access is good, hotel staff were generally pleasant, and the included breakfast is adequate if unexceptional. But a disappointing experience overall, and not a motel I'd consider returning to.

« Best for Baltimore cruises »

We tried a Holiday Inn Express and they were rude. A friend suggested the Best Western because he uses and likes for cruises. I will without a doubt use these people again, friendly and very attentive.

    « Key Card Problem »

I needed to be in this area and this was the most reasonable for the quality desired. I did have extreme difficulty with our key cards. It was a real pain having to go back to the desk to get new cards two or three times a day. The problem was finally fixed after changing rooms, having the same problem and then waiting another two days before the problem was fixed.

    3
« Good hotel with pleasant staff »

When checking into the hotel the staff was extremely pleasant. Aude was only there approximately 2 weeks but was very sweet and tried so hard to meet all my needs. The shuttle to Pier 5 really helped out so I didn't need to use my car the entire weekend.

    « Clean and Convenient »

We have stayed at this hotel many times as our daughter lives in Baltimore and we live in NJ. The rooms are always clean and it's right off Route 95 close to the harbor, and Canton, where our daughter lives. The price is reasonable but much cheaper on Hotels.com/Expedia. On our previous visit we had no problem with parking. Unfortunately on our recent visit, each night when we returned to the hotel, we could not find a place to park. There is a comedy club at the hotel, with seating for 500. They were sold out each night we were there, and therefore parking was impossible! The hotel should allocate a certain number of spots to hotel guests. It was very frustrating driving around for 20 minutes and then having to park way in the back far from the entrance late at night. This hotel offers shuttle service to the Harbor and free buffet breakfast and free wifi.

« Hotel stay while having appointments at Johns Hopkins Hospital »

They were especially kind to me as a patient at John Hopkins Hospital. This was a convenient location and offered comfort and respite. Food was good and room service available. What else can I say - I will need to return to the hospital and plan to stay here.

    4
    « Decent Hotel »

Pretty good hotel for the price, however I hate paying for parking at hotels. I especially enjoyed the hot tub and swimming pool, although I am not sure if the pool had chlorine in it or not. Smelled like tap water.

    3
    « Far away parking »

This is my second time reviewing this hotel. I must say since the last time there have been improvements. The restaurant (a lot cleaner) and free breakfast was outstanding. Food was good and this time there was a very friendly and helpful and cheerful "hostess" named seneca. She greeted everyone, cleared dishes and was overall great. On the bad side if you go there on a friday or sat night or whenever they gave comedy shows, there will be no parking and you may have to park across the street. The room shower is small and the tub floor was un even. It was clean though and comfortable. Hotel offers discount rates if you are there for a hospital visit. And also offers transportation to hospital center if needed. Its only minutes away.

« Disappointing to say the least. »

When I called for reservations a man named Moudi was hussling for his side job to pick us up from the airport. I accepted. But, I thought a bit unprofessional. He charged $45.00 for a 15 minute drive. My bad. I should have Ubered it. Upon our arrrival we found the front desk people to be very kind and helpful. Then we checked into our dirty rooms. The housekeepers must not know how to dust. (we let that go) The next morning we took the shuttle to down town Baltimore. We asked if she sould drop us off at Penn Station. She said that they don't go that far but, if we showed her a little extra appreciation she could. I said, okay, how much appreciation. Then she said that she couldn't this time as she had to get to her next drop off. But, normally she would. The next day after our 5 night stay there we discoved the housekeeper didn't give us anymore coffee or toilet paper. I guess she got mad when we complained because the next day she didn't clean our rooms. Nothing! No new towels, our beds were not made, NO NOTHING! Complained again. The next night my air conditioner went out. I had to sleep in the heat. It was over 100 outside. I let the front desk know and asked if someone could please fix it before we came back that night. NOPE! It was hot in my room. Called the front desk again. They sent a young man up to fix it. So, I got to sit in a hot room for awhile. Then my friend slipped and fell in her shower. We asked for a rubbermaid bath mat for both our tubs. They said they would bring one right up. We called again. The front desk person said they don't have them. We showed the front desk manager her elbow and how bad it was. My friend was bleeding bad. Her entire arm is bruised and her elbow cut wide open. (thank goodness I brought bandaids) The front desk manager said it is not a Best Western requirement. The last an final night was icing on the cake. The housekeeper took the top sheet and blanket off the bed but didn't put new fresh bedding. She just left a fitted sheet on the bed. REALLY!!! We had to call twice for bedding so that we could make her bed. All in all this was a very disppointing stay. When we went to check out we asked to speak to the Hotel Manager. They sent out the Front Desk Manager instead. We explained everything to her. I told her that we should get some kind of credit on our bill. She left and came back about 20 minutes later. She gave us 50% off one night for one room. We had 2 rooms for 4 nights and 1 rooms for one night. So, she only gave us about $58.00 off of a $1,200.00 stay. We left feeling as if we were not a valued customer or guest. No one really cared. They are just in it for the money. I can tell that by the way they have old towels in their rooms. You could almost see right through them. The beds are old too.

    « If this were a home, I would call it a fixer-upper »

If my room is like every other room in this place I would say it's completely disgusting. But I can't say that, because my coworker got a room and it was a little bit nicer. The furniture is chipped broken and dirty, and ripped, there are stains on the wall. The closet door is missing and replaced with a drape. The shelf in the closet contained a dirty tissue. The bathroom was very clean and very modern but it does not have a fan. They are very close to everything you want to get to, they offer a very nice free breakfast, and the restaurant in the hotel is a decent alternative to going out for dinner, and these nice to have amenities is probably why I didn't give it one star. If you were coming here I highly recommend asking for a city view room, as the other rooms view the low income projects just behind the building. They do offer shuttle service is too many locations, although the drivers leave something to be desired.

    3
« Park and Cruise Choice »

We chose this hotel because it was described as having "park and cruise" but when we arrived, we were told that the internet p[rice did not include parking and another $50 or so would be added to allow for 7 days parking. this was true even tho we had also arranged for another days stay after our return from the cruise. the parking facility was just a big open air lot so it wasn't like any special parking protection was afforded for the price. We found the main desk staff a bit apathetic and dense, and it took some time to get anything done. On the bright side the restaurant in the hotel was excellent with a nice buffet and helpful staff for breakfast and dinner. . The hotel is not in a particularly nice neighborhood and the view out our window was of the backyards of seedy row houses. I have to add, though that the staff of the shuttle service from the hotel to the pier was excellent and that made up for a lot of minor shortcomings in the hotel.

This is an amazing discovery in that the grounds of this Best Western offer quiet and tranquility, while being located a short distance from the industrial port. Despite its location directly across the street from a truck stop, it is very safe as the hotel maintains security with roving patrols. This facility also includes a pool, hot tub, in-hotel bar and restaurant, and guest laundry. Staying here is great experience in so many ways. Many thanks to a professional and friendly Front Desk and Housekeeping Staff!

We stopped for one night reserved on a road trip . Because I paid through a third party ahead of time , the person at the desk refused to give me my AAA discount . Hint don't pay upfront. Basically they said if you had booked through us then we would give you the discount . However , once we got through that hurdle the rest was smooth. Staff was courteous , rooms were large and clean and there is a continental breakfast that is very nice. They also have a comedy club, small shop etc . Room service is available as well. All in all we would return. Great stay and affordable . Recommend .

The staff was very caring and helpful with us. Our room was very clean, Breakfast was great. I would recommend this hotel if you are going in that area. Well Worth it. No matter what we needed they helped us. I became very ill and they did everything they could to help me get comfortable even putting me in a bigger room. The fitness room is just the right size and it is very close to everything (John Hopkins, Conference Center, Inner Harbor and several sight seeing places) you won't be disappointed.

« Not totally perfect - but what is? »

We are still here at the hotel for a week long stay. As most people know, there is no absolutely perfect hotel. So..I'll state what we liked and then I'll state what we were disappointed in: Pros - 1). This hotel has super comfortable beds! We have slept here 4 nights so far and have found it very comfortable. 2). Love the recliner in the room! 3). One perk we didn't know a thing about but is something that is really great for us is the free shuttle service to 5 different spots: inner harbor at pier 5, Mercy Medical Center, Convention center, John Hopkins Hospital and the University of MD. The van leaves the hotel on the hour starting at 7:00 a.m. and ending at 10:00 p.m. Pick ups are on the half hour with the last one at 10:30 p.m. What a great perk this was for us!!! 4). Breakfasts were good, with enough variety to have something different just about every day if you wanted to. 5). Wifi was good, with only short lags in the evenings. 6). Front desk clerks were ABSOLUTE dolls. Helpful in every way and always smiling. 7). Room fridges are super cold! Nice clean microwaves too. Cons: 1). One huge disappointment is when I asked for the ADA accessible kit for the hard of hearing. They said they don't offer that. I told them I was surprised as it's an ADA law and that ALL hotels must have them. I explained it may not be asked for often so it might be hidden under a cupboard and covered with dust, but I was sure they had one. They told them they would ask the manager when he came in. I never heard anything back. This is something the hotel really needs some education on. It's definitely a first for me and I travel a lot! 2). The a/c unit makes a loud airplane-like noise every time it kicks in. They have units under the windows, not the vents on wall. Even with a hearing loss, it was enough to startle me whenever it turned on (which was often). 3). We were informed the a/c units in the halls were not working properly and it was being worked on. The halls were pretty warm. When we arrived, the hallway smelled skunky but either I'm used to it now or the smell has gone away. 4). The tub. I'm not sure how to describe this tub! LOL. I've never seen a tub like this before. The bottom of the tub is shaped more like a boat. It dips down in the middle. During showers, you must stand with your feet a bit apart to balance because you can't stand in the middle of the V. For baths, you better use a towel on the bottom because the texture of the tub is much like sandpaper. Your tushy will definitely hurt if you sit on this. Out of the hotel's control - there is nothing to do right near the hotel. It's across the street from a truck stop but mostly in a residential (blue color maybe) area. There is a McDonalds at the other end of the parking lot. There is a restaurants in the hotel also. So....there's the good and the bad for us. Would we stay here again? Maybe. Is this time absolutely terrible? No, not at all.

« Park and cruise combo worked very well! »

Checked in and the first room they gave us (non smoking) smelt of smoke. Went to front desk and the next 3 rooms also smelt of smoke. Finally got a room that was ok. Front desk staff were very good and happy to assist so cant complain. Breakfast was fine. Would stay again for one night if i ever cruise out of Baltimore.

« Excellent hotel to stay out while cruising »

We chose the Best Western in Baltimore because of its close proximity to the cruise line terminals. Best Western also provided transportation to and from the cruise line. We were also able to leave our car in the Best Western parking lot for the entire week we were away without any charge. A great perk when you consider the cruise lines charge at least $15 per day/night for parking. Limo service was on time and very efficient. Will definitely stay again!

    « Park and Cruise »

This was well worth every single penny!! We originally thought about driving to Baltimore the morning of the cruise because we live so close, but then we found out about this place that offers Park and Cruise! For the price we would of paid for parking at the port this was certainly a bargain!! I t was less stressful on us and we were able to enjoy a beautiful night in Baltimore! Thank you BEST WESTERN!!

Hotel was very clean. Still don't understand the idea of the tiny pillows for the beds. Bed was very comfortable. Shuttle service is great and right on time, Luggage carts seemed to be in short supply at checkout. Overall, a very positive experience. Would definitely stay again.

« Great large hotel close to inner harbor. »

This is a lovely hotel, I would return here again no problem. Check in was problem free, the guy on reception said he gave us a room at rear of hotel. room was lovely with good Wi-Fi too which kept us happy. Free breakfast in morning with voucher you get at check in. Lots of choice, and clean seating area too. Only a short drive from here towards harbour which is beautiful. I didn't realise Baltimore was so nice, we only stayed 1 night. I will return for another stay soon.

Stayed for one night at the end of May, and wished we,d stayed longer as there was so much to do and see in Baltimore! The hotel was easy to access off the I95, the reception staff were excellent, they were courteous, helpful and very informative, especially Tashak! Breakfast was good with plenty of choice, our room was clean and the bed was really comfortable which made for a good night sleep. We took advantage of the free shuttle to Baltimore,s inner harbor, Kevin our driver was great and we were dropped off and picked up on time. « Worked Great for Cruise Hotel »

The hotel is very convenient as a cruise hotel. Parking was ample and included in the charge for the package we purchased. For context, parking at the dock is $15 / day. Also included was shuttle service to and from the port, which I believe would be about $10 / person (likely each way). A light (typical hotel) breakfast and Wifi were also included. We checked in very late (around midnight), and I could tell, as the reservation desk employees were speaking to each other in Egyptian, that something wasn't right. We had booked a queen double, non-smoking, and there were no more available. The employees worked it out to give us an upgrade to a small suite, which worked great for our family of four, for the same charge. This was accomplished without hassle. I would stay here again for sure. It worked out great for us.

« Great Stay at Best Western Plus Hotel & Conference CTR Baltimore »

Stayed at the Best Western Plus Hotel and Conference Center in Baltimore before our cruise from the harbor and it was definitely a great decision. Would highly recommend this hotel. The staff was great, the hotel was very clean and the free breakfast was very good. The connection to the cruise harbor was so convenient.

    « Just poor... »

Hotel looks a bit old. The room smelled of a nasty odor blocker. Sheets was nasty, blanket has hair in it. Lotion under the bed. The room was not cleaned in my opinion. The pool looks dirty and wouldn't want to swim in it. I will not stay again.

Trip was taken for easy access to hospital through the hotels great shuttle service. Normally the shuttle starts at 7:00 AM, but the arranged a shuttle at 5:00 AM for surgery. The staff was extremely helpful. The breakfast included numerous tasty choices. The swimming pool really was nice and warm. The hot tub was small but very nice.

I conducted a public seminar on Thursday, June 16th at the BW Plus Conference Ctr. The banquet and catering director made sure I had everything in my meeting room and especially accommodating for me. She put a tub of bottled water in ice and added a bottle of sparkling Perrier. Theresa is the banquet and catering manager and she excels in providing exceptional customer service! Thank you Theresa!

When I arrive and went into my room it smelled like someone had been smoking cigarettes and marijuana. so I was moved to another room that the toilet didn't flush, water that was turned off and we weren't made aware off it until an hour and half later. They offer or suggested that would make us comfortable with no water for four (4) hours. I couldn't take a shower, brush my teeth or flush the toilet that was already broken.

« Perfect Baltimore Cruiseport Experience »

This hotel property is a great option for those cruising out of Baltimore. Call the hotel directly and ask for their cruise package. This will allow you to park your vehicle on the property for the duration of your cruise. They will shuttle you to and from the Baltimore cruise port. A nice complimentary hot breakfast is also included with your package.

« Convenient when you're cruising out of Baltimore »

We were looking to spend one night in Baltimore in anticipation of a cruise that left early on a Saturday morning. Let's just say we booked this hotel because it offered a free parking package and shuttle transportation to and from the Port of Baltimore when Cruising. That was a great option. It saved us money on parking at the dock. However, when part of our cruising party checked into their room about 10:30 at night there was already someone in their bed! After many surprised screams and a quick slam of the door the problem was rectified and apologies were made. Didn't make me feel unsafe, but glad I wasn't staying by myself.

« If you are booked in for a cruise then read on!! »

Lots of other reviews regarding the accommodation. We only had the one night stay as we were joining a cruise ship at South Locust terminal. We, as Brits were perfectly happy with the service provided at this place. I have seen some reviews which state that the breakfast was poor. We were perfectly happy and we have seen quite a few different offerings over the years. The point of our review is that if you are going to the cruise terminal and you have booked here, you will probably arrive by cab. Cost as of this week would be 45 dollars as there is a toll that you must pay for to get to the Best Western. If you book accommodation nearer to the Inner Harbour you do not have to cross the toll road which should save 4 dollars. The Best Western also advertises a free shuttle service to and from their premises to the ferry port. It is only free when you book the whole package deal and not like us, when we booked through expedia direct for one night. In our case we had to pay 20 dollars for the return journey. Bear this in mind as, if you are flying back the same day as you dock, there is no point in going back to the Best Western as you will then have to pay the toll again to come back towards the airport . Pointless really. We caught a cab from the ferry terminal and spent the day at the Inner Harbor where there is plenty to do. It cost 10 dollars (and no toll). From there it takes about 20 minutes to get back to the airport (BWI) by cab.

Decent hotel but in a trucking area but it was fair. Not as close to the harbor as billed but the shuttle took us to ad from. One shuttle driver had a terrible attitude and was very impatient with the patrons as well as reckless driving.

« Great stay for a Camden Yards visit »

My husband and I stayed here because we had tickets to a Red Sox/Orioles baseball game on Memorial Day. Our room was on the 12th floor which was nice and quiet. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. The hotel also provides a free shuttle to various places throughout Baltimore including Johns Hopkins Hospital, the Inner Harbor and the Convention Center across the street from Camden Yards. We were very happy at this hotel.

    4
« Good Johns Hopkins Hotel »

My husband has to visit Johns Hopkins periodically and we were tired of the rates and having to pay for parking in the Inner Harbor area. We were pleasantly surprised with this hotel. While his appointments were too early to take advantage of the complimentary shuttle, the drive to the hospital is very easy - only two turns! They also have a "Johns Hopkins" floor and a room set up for patients and their families to use. Everyone from the front desk to housekeeping to the Tradewinds Restaurant were very nice and courteous. The Restaurant food was very good. The complimentary breakfast was typical for a hotel. They were wonderful in working with us when we weren't sure if we were going to need to stay another night. The rooms were dated, but very clean. While I don't know much about the area, I was not frightened when I arrived late at the hotel and felt safe while I was in the hotel.

    « Weary Traveler »

After a long day of driving from Savannah, Georgia, it was nice to know that Best Western, Baltimore was on the other end of my trip. The hotel was easy to find, as it is off of I-95, however, do not use navigation to maneuver around the Baltimore area. After clearing Washington, DC, navigation took me in a full circle around Prince George County, and almost into Charles County. Arriving at the hotel, check in was a snap, and I requested directions to Jimmy's Famous Seafood(best in Maryland). Five minutes from the hotel. The room was clean, however, it does need updating. The furniture was a little beat up, and the bathroom wasn't the best. Best Western is always an economical stay, and always clean. I will recommend this hotel for anyone visiting the area, if you're looking for clean and economical.

« Near it all and service is tops »

From the smiling faces and eager to please service you cannot go wrong staying here. We travel to Baltimore very often for our visits to Johns Hopkins. From the reservation to Omar at the front desk, Naem taking us up to our rooms and everything in between we have not been disappointed. Our Hopkins rate allows us to stay at this city hotel near everything. While the beds could be more comfortable we do not have a complaint. The breakfast is good for your hotel 'free' offering and the restaurant while 'hotel food' has a few shining spots. The steak can't be beat and the waitress who doubles as a bartender makes a great martini. All in all we have stayed at this property many times and their service and overall quality allows us to come back to an oasis after a day of medical drama.

    « Hospital visit »

I'm very impressed with Linda Tucker in maid services Ivona in Trail winds Restaurant Kevin the shuttle driver!!! These 3 went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable. We stayed because we had a Johns Hopkins Hospital appointment. Best Western has a SMOKING FLOOR (8). The swimming pool, hot tub, gym and other services are so awesome. The hotel even has a discount for people going to the hospitals. Our room was very clean. We asked for extra blankets and towels and they were immediately brought to us. The shuttle ride to the hospital was amazing. Kevin was a very conscientious driver. Our pick up shuttle for return was a different driver who bounced us all over Baltimore, weaving & honking, in and out of crazy traffic! But, I can't complain because I don't think I could've driven in that traffic!!! So, we didn't die and I'm happy! (The picture is the view from our 8th floor room.)

    « Fine Overall »

We were cruising out of Baltimore on Carnival for May 15th. We stayed overnight at the Hotel since they had a very reasonable "Bundle" package for cruisers. The price is well worth it, include parking for our new pickup for 7 days. The Hotel is very clean inside and out, although the neighborhood is less than desirable, which really isn't their fault. The staff is very friendly and very efficient. We had a "truly" non-smoking room on the 10th floor. Our view - was the ghetto - literally, and the port a distance away. This is the ONLY reason I gave 4 stars. The room was spacious and clean. We had a complimentary breakfast the next morning at Tradewinds Restaurant and is wasn't too bad at all. You can make your own waffles! The Hotel provides transportation to the Baltimore Port through KD Transportation. There were many other guests heading to the port with us so we met a lot of nice people and shared cruise stories. The entire process was very efficient. Upon return from our cruise, KD Transportation was right there waiting for us to take us back to the hotel for our truck. I will definitely book with them again!

    « easy freeway access »

The neighborhood is sketchy, but the hotel has taken steps to manage the security in the parking area. Staff is friendly, rooms are clean, though the hotel shows some wear on the carpets and furniture. bathroom in our rooms was updated, but the room was not. breakfast buffet is limited in choices, but well maintained. did not try the restaurant. Get a room on the 12th floor if you like quietness and the view. the entrance to the hotel is hard to find, as the GPS insisted in coming in the service way at the back.

    « Needs work »

The place has grown a bit tired over the years. It has a convenient location but really its time to put some money into the place. The rooms could be cleaner stuff is missing in the room. No dish in the microwave carosel. The air handlers are noisey. The restaurant is OK breakfast is nothing special. I would like to see the place improve before I go back.

    3
« Bring your own pillow »

The best thing about this location was the price. I think the pillows were small couch throw pillows with pillow cases on them. The breakfast was subpar at best. I've stayed at many BW and this was by far the worst one. The lobby looked nice but the Wifi sucked bad.

    « Nice place »

My daughter and I stayed for a few nights before a cruise. The rooms were clean and them pool and hot tub were small, but nice. The free breakfast was amazing with a very kind staff. I booked on line and didn't get the cruise park/stay special . I will book thru the hotel directly next time. We took the shuttle to the ball park and the driver was a wonderful man who went out of his way to help us. The K and D elite shuttle to the cruise port was super too.

« Top Notch For the Value »

We came to town as our beloved Tigers were playing the O's. What drew us here after our usual hotel was fully booked was the shuttle service. The shuttle driver was very friendly and quite the character, and we were happy to see her upon our return trip after the game as well. The shuttle will drop you off at the Convention Center which is a short distance to Camden Yards, not a hike at all. Our room was well appointed with two queens, nice comfy linens which were clean and crisp. One bed was a bit uncomfortable on the edge and a rotation should solve the issue, so no biggie. Nice sized desk and bigger mini fridge with microwave and coffee maker. Flat TV with remote were nice as well. Clean room, tiled bathroom was clean as well. All in all, a great stay with friendly front desk clerks, good breakfast, though a bit of crowding due to the layout of the serving tables. Our driver though, she was just awesome.

    3
    « Park and Cruise »

This hotel was very good for the park and cruise package. The staff is very helpful and friendly. Our only compliant was the breakfast......not good at all. My advise is to go out for breakfast. Tried 3 apples, all rotten. Normal scrambled, fake eggs. Miniature muffins, bagels (hard) and Danish. Needs to be stepped up quite a bit. Hostess first day very friendly, second day not friendly.

    3
« Good service, clean rooms, not so clean common areas »

I went during the first weekend in May. The employees at the front desk were extremely friendly. They were helpful every time I had any questions about the area, getting around, or things with my reservation. There is a free shuttle to the inner harbour which we utilized. The woman driving was definitely a character; she was funny. They provided a password to access free wi-fi, which was helpful. The rooms were very clean. They had a very large 'mini' fridge with a baby freezer on top. They also had a microwave and coffeemaker for use in the room. The bathtub was extremely slippery--my boyfriend and I both slipped in it separately, and he actually fell--and for both of us right after getting in in the morning and just standing, no soap or slippery shampoo, just the bathtub itself somehow. Points docked for common area cleanliness. The free breakfast area had garbage all over tables both days we went to eat (and the first day we were only down there with one other family shortly after it opened), to the point where I picked up a pre-packaged cereal to eat, and someone had eaten it already and put it back and it was left there. Another big issue was the pool area. We tried to have a relaxing break in the little hot tub. That was okay, but when we went to the pool to cool down, it was disgusting. There was oil and grease and all kinds of particles floating on the top of the surface. I was very grossed out. I was glad I got out of the hot tub before the bubbles stopped and didn't see it floating while I was in it. They were also out of towels in the pool area. Overall, I'd say good hotel, good service, but avoid the pool area and go to breakfast before it gets sloppy down there.

The service to Baltimorei Harbor is a positive plus. I cannot say enough good things about KD elite for their service to and from the cruise port. We have done the part stay and cruise package numerous times. I would stay here again. Away from all of the hustle and bustle and very convenient as its right alongside of I95. They give you a wifi access code to access the internet. I only wished they had given us a room with a king bed as requested.

« Great value on the dollars spent »

I recently stayed at this property and the location is unbeatable. Just off 95 and minutes to downtown. I came to town to visit friends for a birthday party. All the hotels downtown were outrageously priced. Plus the need to pay for parking. This hotel was minutes, literally minutes to downtown. And they had a FREE SHUTTLE that dropped me off and I was able to meet up with my friends and hang out downtown. The rooms were clean and had everything needed. Microwave and fridge. Pretty standard. Overall very comfortable. The front desk staff was very pleasant at check in. Smooth easy process. the shuttle driver Ranell was especially nice and informative about the downtown areas, she even scheduled my return shuttle back to the hotel that had late evening pickup. Saturday evening I went to the comedy factory which is located in the hotel, oh how convenient. The next time I will definitely book the LAUGH AND STAY. Comes with the room night and ticket to the show.

    2
    « Not great... »

Price was decent, but the overall quality was not. shuttle to inner harbor needed reservations and I was not informed of this at check in. Sheets on bed were stained/ dirty, which really grossed me out. TV in the room did not work, call to have it serviced and no one ever came. Breakfast the next morning was the best part.

The staff at this hotel makes our stays here very comfortable and enjoyable. Having to go to Johns Hopkins, it was enjoyable to sit and relax. Everyone was so pleasant and helpful. One of the best features is the shuttle to take you to the hospital and after we came back from there, we would take the shuttle to the Harbor for some fun downtime. The drivers are just as helpful and the hotel staff.

« If you're looking for a descent stay at a reasonable price. »

I've been to this hotel quite a few times in the last six months. I'd give it a 3 to 4 stars. It's good, not great. Staff for the most part is very friendly and helpful. Food is descent, kind of slow service. But if you are looking for something clean and reasonable, I'd recommend this hotel.

« This hotel has definitely seen better days... »

I stayed one night while in town for business ad I was visiting a company in the Canton Industrial area and I didn't feel like staying downtown. This was not my first time staying here; I had stayed a year ago but somehow I didn't remember the hotel being so worn. The desk chair had holes and the wooden furniture had splintered from wear. Despite that, I could have overlooked the cosmetic deficiencies but the room just wasn't cleaned well. There seemed to be little hairs everywhere, the toilet had rings from hard water, and the sheets and towels weren't that white. The free breakfast seemed to be adequate as far as free hotel breakfasts go, but all I wanted that morning was tea and the hot water that came out of the urn was brown. The staff was friendly and polite but unfortunately that is not enough to get me to return.

« Conveniently placed 25 minutes from the pier »

My stay was a short one, though it was a battle between staying in the gym, pool, sauna area with a hot bubble mini pool next to the swimming area, and going to see the sights. The continental breakfast isn't half bad, though, not much compared to dinner during restaurant hours. The entrées are divine and service from I believe her name was yulia was excellent, the rest of the staff either were loud, depressing, rude or fake. Front desk staff during the morning were fun and exciting, and the complimentary transportation helped to plan out where we have our fun. This hotel is close to the nightlife fun. So, if you can leave your kids at home, there's much fun to be had with ease to get back to the hotel jumping in an uber or lyft.

« Friendly staff, clean comfy rooms »

Everyone was nice and helpful. The free breakfast is a nice treat too...eggs, biscuits/gravy, fruit, bread products... One important observation about the shuttle service. When they say "the hospital is only 10 minutes away", they don't tell you that it will actually take 30-40 minutes due to other stops on the shuttle route. I almost missed my doctor appt., but I was lucky and they still saw me. Finally, the location is right off 95 and very convenient, and there is a McDonalds next door if you need a quick bite.

Excellent service, clean room, great food and a wonderful fitness center. Great shuttle service and friendly professional staff. Enjoyed my stay very much and would definitely recommend this hotel to friends and would stay here again if in Baltimore.

« Great pre or post cruise hotel »

We stayed at the hotel for a night before our cruise. I'm a travel agent and had 41 people (24 adults, 17 children) in my group. I had been corresponding with Melrose Gamboa, the manager, regarding our stay. She was very efficient and accommodating. We all drove from Boston and were arriving early, and she made sure our rooms were ready and we were all on the same floor and near each other. She welcomed me and thanked me personally when I arrived. The front desk staff was also very friendly and professional. We had dinner there and the staff was very patient with my group, and the food was very good. Buffet breakfast was included with the rate and there was a good selection. The hotel also provides shuttle service to and from the port through a private company, and has an hourly local shuttle to John Hopkins and the Inner Harbor. There is a rate available that will include parking your car for the length of the cruise, and it was very reasonable. Overall, I would highly recommend this hotel, and it's convenient to I-95.

    « Easy and convenient »

We stayed at this hotel for the night before our cruise out of the Maryland Cruise Port. This was our second time doing so. We were on the top floor with a view of the city from our clean, adequate room. Breakfast in the morning was great. And the shuttle service ready and waiting. We were able to leave our car there for the duration of the cruise as part of our package. I would recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to extend their vacation by a day or two.

    « Dirty »

We were in town to visit someone at Johns Hopkins. We were running late arriving and I called ahead to let them know we'd be checking in after midnight. The first person to answer the phone put me on hold and after 8 minutes, I hung up. When we arrived, the check-in was fine. The room however was not. I wanted to hang a shirt up in the closet. It looked like it hadn't been cleaned in a long time. There was actual dirt on the shelf. So, I went to place the shirt on the desk chair. There was a desk but no chair! Again, odd. A section of the marble in the bathroom was broken and they replaced it with a piece of paint splattered wood. The tile in the bathroom was broken and for some reason spackled over. The rug in front of the bed was in bad need of replacement. I don't think we'll be going back.

« Great hotel close to port! Very friendly staff. »

We have used this hotel twice before a cruise. The shuttle before and after was organized by the hotel. This shuttle service is excellent. Breakfast is included, a nice buffet. The rooms are clean and fairly big. I would stay here again and recommend it.

    « Affordable nice stay »

It was the first time my family and I were in Baltimore, so we were a little bit disappointed that the hotel was not in the middle of downtown. However, we were pleasantly surprised when we found out they had a shuttle van service that leaves every hour and goes to many places in the city. It was such a relieve and so convenient not to have my husband driving us around since we had already had a 3 hour drive. They serve buffet breakfast, which was very convenient too. The staff was courteous, and always willing to help. The decoration was okay and we didn't really care much about it since it was clean and organized. I was happy the room had a small refrigerator and a microwave because we have little kids and we always need to have things ready for them. Like I said, it's not located in the very heart of Baltimore, but it was still conveniently located. The only reason why I give them 4 out of 5 is because of the pool and the decoration of the room, but other than that, the service and the convenience the shuttle vans provided were great. We will definitely stay there again.

    « Best Western review »

I stay at the hotel for business trip while I am working for a plastic company in the area. The restaurant has good meals for a small place.does have a continual breakfast. There is a lot of People stay there that are going on cruises, work, and going to hospitals. There is one really nice waitress there by name of Angel and a really good chief by the name of Jeremy. Sometimes there seems to be a lot people late at night in the halls making lots of noise.

    « business stay »

My room was on the 11th floor this time. I've been on several and really they are all the same except for the 8th floor which is all smoking rooms. I stay here frequently for business. The exercise room is adequate and the hotel is clean. The breakfast is average and the staff is usually helpful. I've never used the pool so cant really comment on that. My biggest complaint is that the furniture is old, many of the desk chairs are so broken down as to be very uncomfortable.

    4
« good location and facilities »

Location is right off the I-95. The included breakfast is good, with eggs, sausage, pancakes, waffles, cereals and pastries. Rooms are reasonable size, but the furniture is a bit worn. Restaurant was adequate, but the food is only fair. Nice pool and fitness center.

    « Happy in Balto! »

My husband & I were picking up our son after he spent a year in Afghanistan....needless to say we were happy & relieved. The hotel provided breakfast, which was good. We also ate in the restaurant, which was very good. We think the beds could be updated....other than it was centrally located & we had great service!!

    « Stay Before Cruise »

My husband and I drove down from Phila. PA and did a cruise package at Best Western before our 8 day cruise to the Caribbean. We were very satisfied with our one night stay that included free parking during the cruise, a continental breakfast the next morning and free shuttle to and from the Baltimore cruise port. Our room was neat and clean and we had a nice view overlooking the city of Baltimore from the 9th floor.

    5
« This is the 2nd time staying at the Best Western and we will be back again. »

It is very easy to get to by car. They have a wonderful restaurant for dinner. Breakfast is fabulous and best of all they have transportation to the cruise ship and let you park your car. The staff are also very helpful.

« A Reasonable Price and Great Downtown Shuttle Service »

We booked here as parking rates at downtown hotels are very high and parking is included here. The hotel provides a free shuttle service to John Hopkins Hospitals and the Inner Harbor Tourist area (Aquarium, Camden Yards, B&O RR Museum). It also has a free breakfast and the same room is a restaurant in the evenings; prices are moderate for meals and a good menu selection. The room was fine... comfortable beds and clean. Free Wi-Fi too! All in all, good value for a moderate price.

    4
    « Friendly front desk »

I found the people at the front desk very friendly and happy to answer any questions. My husband had a procedure that next day at Johns Hopkins. While the hotel is on the older side, I could see where they are making updates. Breakfast very nice. Would definitely stay there again.

    « Good restaurant »

Great location, free parking/Wifi and close to shops, Gym and old Baltimore downtown. I do recommend to all, it is close to Aquarium, and they have travel agent. There is comedy club with great program.

« Decent place, nice staff »

Was in Baltimore to visit a friend at Johns Hopkins, like that the hotel has a Johns Hopkins suite as a place to sit and visit with friends during the day. Also like the free parking, although a couple of nights we had to park in the North 40. Hotel was clean but pretty out dated. It's time for a face-lift. People are nice and accommodating and the free buffet breakfast is decent. I would stay there again.

    « Awful......stay far away »

Our family of 4 spent one night here and couldn't get out fast enough. This hotel needs a major renovation! Our first room had a desk chair with the back ripped from top to bottom with stuffing hanging out! The desk had more chips and gouges than desk and the arm chair was disgusting. Asked for a second room and pretty much the same except the desk chair was in one piece. The carpet was filthy with globs of stuff stuck to it......wouldn't let my kids walk barefoot! We slept in our clothes, cancelled the second night and left as soon as we could. Did I mention the pool was cloudy and the pool ceilings had black mold? Wish I could make this stuff up.......spend your hard earned money elsewhere!

« service good as usual »

Whenever we cruise we stay at this hotel. The stay (park) and cruise package is excellent. The shuttle service is very good, getting better organized with each stay. They have free shuttle service to the Inner Harbor also. The dinner buffet and breakfast buffet did not seem to be up to the regular offerings but what was offered tasted good. Parking for the cruise is now in the back but there did not seem to be any problems. They have security and cameras. We were very happy and always come to this hotel when in the area.

    « Welcoming Hotel »

My husband goes to Johns Hopkins every year for transplant check-up. We stay here every time. Plenty of parking and always attentive to special needs. Convenient to hospitals and attractions at a great price.

    « Very accommodating »

We stayed at the Best Western the night before our cruise which included parking and transfers to the port. The ship came in several hours late due to a mechanical problem. Not only did the hotel let us check out late, but also provided a place for all of us who were on the cruise a place to wait until we could be transported to the port. They also provided us with water, coffee and tea.

    « A Phenomenal Value »

This Best Western near the Cruise Port in Baltimore treats their patrons with dignity. Our one night pre cruise stay included a very clean and comfortable room, breakfast, a free shuttle to the Inner Harbor and a free shuttle to the cruise port, plus free parking for the duration of the cruise. Our ship was late docking and our departure was delayed 8 hours. The Best Western staff was most generous and gracious hosting about 100 guests stranded at their hotel. This was our second visit and it will not be our last. Thank you.

    « Appreciated in Baltimore »

Visiting Baltimore for Johns Hopkins surgery scheduled later this month. Accommodations for JH patients was superb. Shuttle is handy, although I had to be at JH by 6:30 for blood and scan tests. We had to drive over, but received instructions from the front desk to get us there quickly. Dinner in room the evening before was much appreciated as we had a long drive from Illinois to Maryland.

    3
    « Business trip »

The room was clean the amenities could have been better. The safe never did work, even after a couple complaints. We tried two different telephones with limited success. Business takes me to a lot of different destinations. This wasn't my worst experience, but it wasn't great either. The only saving grace was the evening meal. Our server, Angel, was fantastic. She made a rough day at the plant a whole lot better. Friendly, courteous, and professional. Ill miss her charm and positive attitude. Combined with Jeremy in the kitchen, they make a winning combination. Breakfast on the other hand needs some work. You need to do some research as to what other large chain motels are doing for their patrons. Overall the quality was poor. The exceptions were the hash and sausage gravy. Otherwise pretty sad. Not the best way to start a long day of work.

    « Enjoyed my stay! »

Room was nice and clean and the small issue we did have was fixed immediately upon letting the front desk know. Pool environment was pleasant, though there were minor issues with other guests not following the rules which made one evening not as enjoyable. Shuttle service was nice being free although we were overbooked on the shuttle out and we had to sit with one of our children in our lap and the return trip was a little bumpier due to fast driving and the driver using the phone. Jacuzzi tubs can be a little slippery as when attempting to take a shower both adults and children fell in tub. The housekeeping staff was super nice and took care with providing clean towels, washcloths, and fixing the beds for us. They were even nice enough to set up my kids toys on display for them when we returned to the room, which added a nice touch after a long day sightseeing. Overall though it was a very pleasant stay and look forward to a return trip.

    3
    « Shuttle Service Poor »

Front Desk staff professional but not as friendly as lots of places I have stayed. Rooms very clean. Beautiful view of Baltimore from the room. Worst part was the shuttle service to Johns Hopkins. The driver was excellent the scheduling is the issue. I was told the shuttle picked up on the 1/2 hour before leaving hotel. I called at 1pm for a 1:30 pick-up and was told I would be scheduled on the 3:30 pick-up. I had just had chemo and the wait in the hospital lobby was not very much fun. If you pick up on the 1/2 hour you should make sure that happens. No Excuses.

    « Enjoyed my stay »

I really enjoyed my stay at this Best Western. The amenities are very good-(e.g. hotel shuttle to the Inner Harbor, free breakfast) It's location is very convenient to I-95 and not far from the Harbor. The staff are friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend staying here!

« Great park, stay & cruise package! »

We stayed here for 1 night before leaving on a 2 week cruise. We used their park, stay and cruise package which included free parking for the 2 weeks as well as free shuttle bus to and from the cruise terminal. This was a very good value for the price (around $150). Check in was quick and the front desk staff were very friendly and efficient. The hotel is an older one and shows its age a little, but it's great for a night or two. They have free Wi-Fi which worked well. Our room was pleasant and spacious enough. The bed was comfortable. Some people were complaining on Trip Advisor recently about bed bugs so we made sure to check the sheets and mattress. Nothing. No bed bugs or visible bites following our stay. The bathroom and shower were fine. Breakfast is included in your stay and was fine. The shuttle service was provided by KD Elite and was great. On departure you may have to wait in the lobby for a while as they had 3 or 4 vehicles going back and forth, making the 10 minute drive to the cruise port. There were probably 60 people waiting for the shuttles but KD Elite was organized. You will not miss your ship. The drivers were friendly and hard working (loading all that luggage!). They started the shuttles at 10AM, I think we got to the cruise terminal around 11:30. Then we just ended up waiting in the terminal for a couple of hours until the boarding began around 1:30. Picking up the shuttle after the cruise was easy and then boom...vacation over!

    « Family »

We requested an early check in and Melrose provided that for us. She was helpful during our stay and advised us of the shuttle availability. Our room was clean and well attended by a young woman whose name I am not sure of , it could be Sari, she was exceptional. Our room was a handicap room only problem with it is the fact that 2 beds are in there and it would be hard for someone with a wheelchair to maneuver. Other than that we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Oh Breakfast was the best.... very good selection to choose from. no complaints there either. If we need to stay in a hotel again in Balt, it will be this one.

« HOTEL IS OK BUT AVOID RESTAURANT FOR DINNER. »

We used this hotel as they offered free breakfast, cruise port shuttle and you could leave the car for the period you were away. The hotel itself is very large and was very acceptable. The parking lot where the car was left was well light. The room was comfortable and the morning breakfast was not too bad. Although we had read on Trip Advisor the Restaurant for Dinner was not great after a long drive we did not want to go out. Big mistake. The wait staff were very confused over who should be waiting on what tables. In fact all three came to our table for one reason or another. The wait between ordering the food and it arriving was at least 30 to 40 minutes although the restaurant was not busy. The food was mediocre to say the least. Again not a bad place to stay and they offer a lot but go out for dinner.

    « Friendly staff »

We chose for location to events we needed to attend in area. Met that need very well. We were pleasantly surprised with the hotel amenities and especially the staff. Room was clean, but worn. Front desk most helpful.

« Best Western best stay! »

Best stay after 2 days road trip from Florida, hotel is off i95. Ms Campbell the front desk manager and the Hispanic Securrity guy helped my wife all week plus the shuttle drivers are very humble. The shuttle goes everywhere, maybe late sometime but we understand the traffic in the city. Baltimore is a busy city I didn't expect to see much traffic. Our room was clean well maintained and i love the shower, plenty of hot water no wait time not like the Sheraton city center you wait for 10 minutes. Great staff, definitely will be back. Thank you best best western.

« Pretty Good Stay...Comedy Club, Port of Baltimore Convenient »

Very comfortable room though the dresser, tables and arm chair were worn/old. The room had coffee maker, fridge and microwave. Stayed for a girl's weekend, went to the comedy show held in the ballroom - which is old and worn also. Still, I had a good time, the bed was comfortable, the room was clean and I enjoyed the comedy show with half price tickets. I had breakfast the next day (included) and the host was very patient even though people were bombarding her with questions/requests. I noticed lots of people cruising from Port of Baltimore being shuttled to port. I'd stay again for a pre-cruise getaway or the comedy show. I arrived to Baltimore early and the desk allowed a three hour early check-in...great service there.

    « Pretty Good Stay »

I enjoyed my stay and the hotel met my needs...in room coffee maker, nice sized fridge, microwave. I decided that I would stay again for the comedy shows held in the ballroom and the next time I cruise from the port in Baltimore. Noticed a lot of guests being shuttled to port.

« Best Western Offers Best Deal »

We were sailing on a cruise ship from the Baltimore harbor and needed a place to stay the night prior to the cruise. Found an excellent package deal at the Best Western website. Our bill $ 175 total included our night stay, full breakfast buffet, free internet, parking for the length of the cruise (10 days) and shuttle to/from the cruise port. The hotel is very clean and our room was lovely (we had a non-smoking room and there was no odor at all), Very happy with our selection!

« Johns Hopkins patient, Best Western Team great support,,, »

Due to recent discovery of health issue, decided to find hotel that supported Johns Hopkins visitors or patients on short notice. Generally Best Western is not my go to hotel, but spring break and St Patties day weekend most hotels were booked, or not honoring the JH rate or 5-6 times the price. The staff and hotel are great, there is a shuttle to get you to and from appointments, free parking and restaurant on site. They also put all the JH customers on the 7th floor so it was quiet. Nothing but good to say,,,

    « Racial Profiling »

my husband and I of 30 years purchased tickets for the comedy factory for our date night out. We arrived at the show a little late which was okay with us. upon picking my tickets up the lady at the window was very short and made a smart remark regarding our lateness. After getting the tickets we did a bathroom run, which was there in the Best Western lobby, before entering the comedy club. when I returned from the restroom the Best Western security had my husband, who was waiting for me and sadly I had the tickets, was pinned up as if he was trespassing in the hotel. He had profiled him as a Black Man up to no good ! well my husband responded and things started to get messy. All because this short (looked Hispanic) security guard felt the need to insult my husband, questioning him as to why he was standing in the lobby. The security guard went on the say the comedy and Best Western are separate. Okay, but you can't even use the bathroom ! after all the drama we never enter the club and missed the entire show. We'll never go back to the comedy club again. Best western needs to know that their security could use some much need customer service training, not all Black men are criminals !!!!!

    « Hospital Friendly »

If you unfortunately need to visit John's Hopkins, the hotel gives you a reduced room rate. And they have bus transportation to and from and to other places as well. Don't forget to reserve your pick up and drop off time and make sure you know where you need to go (its a big hospital). The room was clean and recently updated but it still looked old. My room had two toned ceiling where it looked like half of it was repainted and it had large chunks of the plaster missing. The fridge is next to the tv and the tv channels looks like you are watching it through water: not too clear or HD. The hotel has a comedy club in it so expect a lot of extra people parking and hanging out in the hotel. The breakfast food was ok but the restaurant looked disheveled with light bulbs missing, sconces eschew, and dust among many other things, so it makes you wonder about everything else. The male bus driver was very friendly and courteous. So while I wouldn't stay here for pleasure, it is convenient if you have a hospital visit.

« Under remodeling but very clean »

Very easy to find off of I-95. Target and Harris Teeter very close as well as restaurants and other stores. We stayed here because of a surgery scheduled at Johns Hopkins. The shuttle to the hospital was the main reason we booked here since I won't drive in Baltimore City. The hotel is under going renovations, but where we were we didn't hear anything. Hotel is next to a large truck stop but it is still very quiet. The room was clean, if a little outdated, and the internet was slow. Other than that, if the need arises to book here again, I would do so without hesitation.

« Worst hotel experience in Baltimore »

I have been to Baltimore several times for business travel and this hotel was by far the worse I have experienced. The appearance was less than appealing, with trash found several times in the elevators throughout my stay. I woke up early to grab breakfast before I needed to leave the hotel at 7:00 for breakfast; however, the complimentary breakfast was still not open when I left at 7:00 am, when it was supposed to open at 6:30 am. The hotel also boasted in its guest services book that it provides complimentary coffee in the mornings in the lobby, yet I found this nowhere to be found throughout my stay. I tried to take the shuttle to my place of business and luckily I got there on time, as I left significantly early. However, the shuttle was over 30 minutes late picking me up to return to the hotel, for which there was no apology by the staff. I was very disappointed with my stay overall and would not choose this hotel again.

« Stayed at a lot of BW / this one does it well! »

So we were taking a cruise for 3 weeks and wanted to stay at a nearby hotel. I have had fairly good success with Best Westerns and looked into this one. I was very surprised to find they offered a stay and cruise package. We were able to spend the night, get a van shuttle to the port AND leave our car at the hotel! It was not only VERY well run - it was a money save! When I figured out the cruise port parking charges for 3 weeks - it made more sense to leave my car at the BW! I was also very surprised by their morning continental breakfast which was included in the price. Please don't anyone tell them that a continental breakfast DOESNT include eggs, meats, pancakes, waffles and a sweet lady running the show single-handedly! The room was found very clean and it was very large! The neighborhood isn't the kind you want to walk around though. If your very adventurous... ask them to shuttle you to the Angle Inn. Its a tiny local bar... BUT we found better than Philadelphia cheesesteaks in there! I forget what everyone ordered but we all raved at how good the food was. We most definitely would stay here again!

« Could have been better »

Bed sagged in the middle-- felt way old. Tried to turn on the faucet-- no water! Called the front desk who were surprised to hear about it. They called me back to say, oh yeah, there is maintenance being done-- no water at all from 10pm to 4 am. No apology, no offers to move to a different part of the building. I should have been informed of this before check in. I was the one who had to request a bottle of water so I could brush my teeth! Didn't try the hot tub, but it looked pitifully small. Breakfast-- yukky-looking eggs. Some kind of machine that dispenses watery oatmeal. Watered down coffee. There was other stuff to eat but just not that great-- only adequate.

we had an excellent experience here! I had to come to the Johns Hopkins Hospital and right from the start with the shuttle bus driver from the hotel...he was so nice!! all very nice, welcoming and very friendly and informative!! « A normal hotel »

Luckily this place has free parking, and it is a good lot. But if you come in late or when there is a show in the club downstairs, prepare to walk a ways. The hotel is in bad need of an upgrade, but the staff is nice, the location is nice, and the breakfast is nice. Just a no hassle but nothing special place.

« Park and Cruise Gem »

We booked a Park and Cruise package at this hotel because the package included free parking FOR THE DURATION OF YOUR CRUISE. Since we were on a back-to-back cruise that lasted 21 days, we appreciated the unlimited parking as most hotels offer only 7 or 10 days and charge for additional days. The package also included free breakfast and free shuttle service to and from our cruise ship. The package price was very reasonable. The hotel is undergoing renovation but that was not a problem as the common areas were not affected. The rooms were clean, breakfast was good and the shuttle service was prompt and efficient. There is not much to do in the area but the shuttle will take you to and from the inner harbor area at no charge. We ordered take-out from Soprano's pizza and we were very pleased. This will be our new go-to place when cruising out of Baltimore.

« Good Place to Stop »

This hotel, just off of I-95, has an arrangement with Johns Hopkins and is within five minutes of the Bay View Campus. It is about 10 minutes from the harbor area but is not in an area where one will readily find amenities. It is clean and quiet with breakfast and free parking. The staff was very helpful, and we will stay here again.

While making a personal business trip to Baltimore, I stayed once again at the Best Western Plus Hotel and was very pleased with my two night stay. Everyone from the check in staff, wait staff, shuttle driver, and housekeeping staff are very accommmodating and helpful. Stayed here for one night prior to a cruise. What a wonderful surprise. Did not expect such a nice place. The hotel is large but homey. The rooms were spacious, the beds extremely comfortable. Breakfast was included and was more than adequate. Friendly and courteous staff. Ample long-term parking and excellent transportation to and from the cruise port. Will definitely stay here again and would highly recommend it.

    « Save your money. »

First of all this hotel is not downtown Baltimore, it is on the out skirts. Secondly to get to it you have to go through a toll that is $4 each way going and coming. The free breakfast is survival food nothing enjoyable hey but it is free I guess. My room had a filthy, dingy couch that I wouldn't dare sit on. I had to call the front desk to get face towels for my wife and myself. These rooms should be in the $39 a night range. Anything over $75 a night you should get a better hotel in the harbor. One night we were awaken to loud talking in the hallway 3am in the morning. Next trip to Bmore we will definitely be booking a better hotel in the harbor.

    « Very pleasant »

I travel quite often for work and one of the concessions I usually make is to trade off free parking for quality. This hotel exceeded my expectations and I had a comfortable, enjoyable stay. The staff was extremely pleasant and helpful.

« Great place for folks cruising from the port. »

Spend the night and parked my vehicle there for 10 days for free while taking a cruise. The restaurant is good and offers a complimentary full breakfast. Fresh coffee in the lounge. I would recommend this for anyone who takes the cruise ships out of Baltimore. Free shuttle service is included in your stay.

« Tashia Williams and O'DonnellSt Best Western »

Tashia Williams, front desk customer service, provided excellent service to us and lots of other cruise customers during the blizzard of January 2016. This is a great hotel to park-and-cruise out of Baltimore. Shuttle service is provided by KD Elite - I can't say enough nice things about this shuttle service. They were fast, on time and waiting on us as we debarked.

« Awesome hotel for the value and close to Johns Hopkins »

Okay well the hotel is somewhat dated however for the price and the location being so close to Johns Hopkins plus the fact it has an awesome restaurant (Tradewinds) on the lobby level, you can't find a better place. We have stayed there probably 35 times in the past 5 months due to our daughter's hospitalization at JH and we have never been disappointed. In addition, they offer a FREE shuttle service to/from the hospital..tell me where one would ever find these amenities at any other hotel in the area? Okay well, it could be updated a bit but we have never had a bad night's rest or meal at this hotel. Thank you Best Western!

    « Will return again »

Front desk staff was very friendly and helpful. A very safe area of Baltimore for an overnight stay. The room was clean, and all amenities were in place. I noticed when I entered the room I could not find a safe. After calling the front desk, I was provided with one in quick order.

    2
« lack of customer care »

room was clean as expected. thats the only good thing I can say. Plumber had water shut off for 8 hours. When it was turned back on the water ran like mud. Makes you question the ice machine .The Tradewinds Restaurant has to be the worst place in this city of fine places to eat. Service is a bad joke. I ordered a salad and a coke . After 25 minutes the manager walked thru and I had the nerve to ask why I only had a glass of water in front of me. Since there was less than 10 customers in the dining area I could not see a reason for such poor service. His response was very rude and degrading. its a shame that the lack of customer care and communication drags down what would otherwise be a relaxing business trip

Overall stay OK until final morning. Water turned off without notice/warning. Could not shower after working that morning and before having to catch flight home. Manager apologized but must have know in advance water was going to be turned off that day. VERY DISAPPOINTED.

    « I am glad I returned »

In my previous review, I explained how this is a nice place to stay while a sick relative was going to the hospitals in Baltimore. Because of good memories of this hotel, my husband and I stayed here the night before a cruise. Just as other hotels do, they allowed us to leave our car in their parking lot while we were on the trip. During the trip a large snow storm hit the East Coast and our ship was kept out at sea for an extra day. When we did get back, all of the cars were snowed in and plowed in. However, the hotel provided two hardworking young men to shovel the cars out! We had nothing to worry about, but the people whose cars were parked at the port ha to deal with it on their own. The hotel staff was very kind and courteous the whole time.

    1
« Badly in need of repair »

Service in the restaurant was poor and the hotel was dirty. the carpets and comforters were stained and the roof was leaking. The hotel was at capacity because of the snowstorm. We were trapped there for 3 days along with others that were awaiting to leave on a cruise. The restaurant staff could not handle the crowd and were rude. They offered a set buffet and they raised the price to 15.95pp when the in room literature stated it was 13.95pp. So, they took advantage of the fact that you could not go anywhere else.

    « Very nice hotel »

This is a very nice hotel providing good value for the money. It's convenient with ready access to 95 north and south. Restaurant is surprisingly good and our waitress, Angel, lived up to her name. We use this venue on our annual trips south to FL. Would recommend to others.

    « Pre cruise »

This hotel offers outstanding value and convenience for pre cruise stay. It's complimentary shuttle to the inner harbor and various locations in the city is great! The shuttle to and from the cruise port is quick, efficient, and reliable. The rooms are quiet and comfortable with a pleasant breakfast in the morning. Highly recommend.

    « Cruise ship package »

Closest hotel, to the cruise port, with free parking. The cruise package was $30 above the room rate, but it includes free transportation to and from the cruise terminal, and free parking for the duration of the cruise. Pros: Very comfortable and clean rooms Excellent bed Quiet Free breakfast buffet with just about anything you would want for breakfast food. Better than any other hotel we have stayed at. Indoor pool, Jacuzzi pool, fitness room Large parking lots (3) Numerous conference rooms for business Computers and printer for guests Relatively near Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center The "Johns Hopkins" floor has a hospitality suite and self-service laundry. McDonald's is across the parking lot. Cons: We had to make the reservation through Best Western Central Reservations to get a much better rate than offered by the hotel. So, this is important: call Central Reservations. Restaurant lunch and dinner was buffet-only during our stay. Shortage of wash cloths. Housekeeping didn't return with clean wash cloths. Dirty carpets in guest hallways and conference room hallways. I highly recommend this hotel for cruisers.

Before I begin, I must tell you that our stay was during the blizzard of 2016. We knew the storm was coming so we arrived early for our cruise. The hotel was fine. The staff was great especially under such horrific circumstances. The only negative we had was the restaurant. It was not prepared for the number of guest who had the same idea as we did. Friday night was buffet which was not bad. They also offered items from the menu. The bad part was that on both Saturday and Sunday they only had a buffet lunch. It $16.00 pp. I am not a buffet fan so I was not thrilled. My husband was okay. The killer was when we had buffet again the following day. Nothing was open due to the storm so that was our ONLY choice. Oops, one other thing. The barmaid was absolutely the worse ever!! That is not just our opinion it was every person who we spoke to. Ivanna has worked there for 21 years. She really had no concept of bar tending. She was actually rude and so, so slow. Like I mentioned in the beginning, hats off to the rest of the staff, they were fantastic!

    « Outstanding cruise package »

We stayed the night before a three-week cruise. Their package allows up to a month to park. The shuttle was great and they handled all our luggage. What a value and a nice property. Spent the evening before the cruise in their gym, pool and spa. It was like starting the cruise a day early.

    5
« Great for cruise ship guests »

Great hotel for guests who are cruising and want to park their car for the week. It will cost you less to stay a night at the hotel with parking for the week than it will to park at the port. They have a free shuttle for around the city which was perfect for visiting the Baltimore National Aquarium. They also provided transportation to the cruise port at no additional cost. Rooms were good and the staff were great.

What a relief to have the shuttle to Johns Hopkins and back and the shuttle drivers were so accommodating--they got us to the hospital for a 5am surgery time with no fuss. The floor for JH patients and families was quiet and great. I highly recommend this place.

    « Little getaway »

On 2 January 2016 the hubs and I decided to do a small getaway and attend the Baltimore Comedy Factory.. So we conveniently stayed at the Best Western Plus... The comedy venue just happened to be in the conference room of the hotel. The hotel was average we weren't blown away but we weren't upset either.. Breakfast was good, and the staff was very friendly!!! The only con was the night we arrived all of their credit card machines were down as well as wifi capability.. Not a real biggie because there's an ATM machine in the lobby so you could get cash if you needed.. For just one night the room was comfortable and for the price I'd probably stay there again!

« Excellent service and good for pre-cruise package with parking & transport to port! »

We used this hotel for their pre-cruise stay and parking package. Reasonable price and location was perfect for us. No problems in accessing. Quick trip to port. Hotel is clean and well-managed. Much of the facility and our room was dated, needs spiffing up as well as a more modern decor. Old Southwest colors were not very pretty. They are working on this. Unfortunately, I was tired and asked for a quiet room. Instead, our room was underneath a room being renovated and the drilling was loud and upsetting for 3 hours after check-in. And there was a delay in their stopping for the day, despite what the desk clerk told us. Also, halls were noisy. The door was not a good barrier to people talking and moving about the hallways. The Beautyrest bed was good and despite my arthritis, I was comfortable. My only negative comment about the bed was that the hotel used a thin felt pad with a loose sheet on top that doesn't cover the whole mattress. They could use an upgrade to their bedding. Since this is an older establishment, there are no convenient outlets for bedside as seen in more modern hotels these days. There was a refrigerator, microwave and coffeemaker. Tv was a LG flat screen. Free Wifi.. Their restaurant, Toby's, was open for buffet. Service was good, food average, decor a bit depressing and old. Buffet was $15.99 for ribs, beef, tilapia, baked sweet potato quarters, green beans, salad, iced tea. There was also a menu and bar service. Morning coffee was provided free in lobby. Satisfactory breakfast was also included. Best part of stay was being able to park for duration of cruise at no additional charge and transport was outstanding. We received a confirmation email a couple of months ahead of time telling us the company would be taking us to port in the morning. A couple of days before sailing, we received a message with instructions on time they would pick us up. Return after our cruise was also easy, quick and exceeded our expectations. We will return! Looking forward to any renovations before our next cruise.

« Shuttle service is excellent »

The room isn't too bad at all. Clean overall. The shuttle driver "Kevin" was excellent and professional. He went out of his way to provide you with the best service ever. Kevin is polite and very informative if you have questions. His driving skills are EXCELLENT! The breakfast overall is very good. We tried a turkey panini for dinner which was tasteless. We never ate at their restaurant again, not to say the other menu items were bad. Overall the hotel was nice and would recommend it. Very quite at night which made sleeping great. Front desk service is excellent as well, polite and courteous! Heater/AC was a bit noisy but to be expected in this type of Hotel. Heater didn't work that well, would push out cold air for about 15 mins. then warm heat. Would be cold for that 15 mins. Not sure why it did that but could live with that, at least we had heat and we were up there in December.

We use this Best Western in Baltimore to come to John Hopkins at the Bay view site, it has a free shuttle, free hot breakfast, fitness room, the staff is very friendly. the shuttle will also take you to other places in the area if need be just ask. We have been coming here for years the only complaint is the pool we hope they get it clean one of these times they have a hot tub. The price is well worth staying. also they have free wi fi and 10% of your meal if you chose to eat dinner there. Good luck and drive careful.

    « Good for a quick stay »

I found this hotel from Travelocity for the great rate. Room was comparable to a more expensive hotel right up the street, but half the cost. The only things I would gripe about are the sub-par breakfast and the view of low income housing.

  • 4
    « Typical stay »

I found this hotel through Travelocity because of the great rate. It's half of a hotel I was staying at, and for basically the same thing. The only difference I would say is that the breakfast could use some work. Is nothing to brag about, but hey, it's complementary.

« Okay, but not great »

We stayed at this hotel for one night in early December before a cruise on Carnival. We were on the 10th floor facing the back of the hotel, so the view wasn't great, but the room was okay. The bed was comfortable and the room was clean, but you can tell they desperately need to update, as all the furniture was worn and faded. There were no sheets for the fold out bed, and when we called for a set, we waited an hour then finally just went to the desk to get them ourselves as it was 10pm and we wanted to put our kids to bed. The pool was working and clean enough, but the water was cloudy and very heavily chlorinated. The door to the pool area sticks, so pull hard! The breakfast buffet was a nice addition, not much variety, but good food nonetheless. Our complaints? The comedy club and the front desk. We got to the hotel around 4pm and parked near the front. We then left around 7pm to go find an ATM and pick up a few last minute things, and when we returned at 830pm-- there were NO parking spaces in the entire lot. We drove around for nearly 1/2 an hour and finally got a spot at the absolute back end of the lot, where we had to walk around the entire hotel with our two little kids to get into the front door, as there are no side entrances. When we mentioned to the front desk that there were no parking spaces we were informed that the comedy club is very popular on Saturday nights, but they "should be leaving in about 2 hours time". I expressed that this was unacceptable, and that as a paying guest of the hotel, I expect to have a reasonable parking space, and I was told "well, they paid a lot of money and are guests of the hotel too, come back later and you should be able to park closer" Completely ridiculous. All in all, it was a decent stay, but not what I expect from a Best Western. It reminded me of a Motel 6. We will not be back to this hotel. We'll stick to the nicer hotels near BWI.

« Great pre cruise stay »

This is our second stay at this hotel. We chose this hotel for their cruise and park rates. An added bonus it the shuttle to the Inner Harbor. The shuttle runs on the hour. You just schedule your time and then meet the shuttle driver at the front entrance. The shuttle drops you off right at the National Aquarium. You can schedule your return or the hotel will give you their card to call approximately 45 minutes prior to the time you want to be picked up. The shuttle picks you up right where they dropped you off. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The rooms are clean. The beds were comfortable. A hot breakfast buffet is provided in the morning. Not a gourmet breakfast but the food is very good. The shuttle services runs very smoothly. The times are scheduled when you first make your hotel reservations. In the morning you report to the shuttle table 15 minutes prior to your schedued shuttle departure to confirm you reservation. The shuttle was on time, loaded all passengers and was to the port in less than half hour. When we arrived back from our cruise, the shuttle service was waiting. The returns are on a first come, first served basis. But there seemed to be 2 or 3 shuttles waiting when we got off the ship. I would highly recommend the Best Western and we will be staying here in the future.

« Warm and friendly atmosphere »

Never disappointedin the past 3 years that my husband and I have stayed here. The hotel is always clean and the service of the staff is excellent. We most often have eaten at the hotel's restaurant and they make every effort to accomodate your dietary restrictions. Anyone who frequents this hotel and has medical appointments at JOHNS HOPKINS receive a discounted rate. The 6th floor designated as the JOHNS HOPKINS FLOOR has a laundry and a separate living room to entertain friends and family. There is also a room available for longer term stays that has a small kitchen. Thank you!!! Best Western, O'Donnell Street.

I have been staying at this hotel for my medical appointments at jH and also this past time for some leisure activities at the Inner Harbor. The staff are wonderful with the shuttle service to and from the JH Outpatient Clinic as well as to the Inner Harbor as it is a free service. Also the free parking is an added plus along with the delicious breakfast each morning. Our rooms have always been clean and we have been highly satisfied if there were any minor problems with a room change. This is my "go to" hotel in the Baltimore area.

Had to go to John Hopkins for cancer treatment. Free shuttle from hotel to hospital. Clean rooms and very pleasant staff. Fairly reasonable rates but could be lower for patients. I will be staying at the same hotel for 16 nights before Christmas and wish the rates could have been cheaper for the length of stay, otherwise a very pleasant stay.

« Disappontment for a Johns Hopkins Hotel »

My husband & I stayed here as it is so close to J. Hopkins Bayview campus. At check-in, after requesting a very quiet room, we were told we would be on the 6th floor, the J. Hopkins floor. My husband, not feeling well, laid down as soon as we got into the room. Within minutes, construction noise (drilling & hammering began). I called the front desk & was told someone would come talk with us. NO ONE CAME. An hour later, with the noise still unbearable (my husband & I could not even hear each other in conversation), I again called the front desk and was told there was construction on the 10th floor causing the noise. (When we were opening our room door on the 6th floor, we saw a maintenance worker with full tool belt entering the room next door.). Again, I was told someone would come up to talk with us. NO ONE CAME. Fifteen minutes later, I had to go down to the front desk and ask for another room. I was given another room but WHY did it take 1 1/2 hours, 2 phone calls and a face-to-face visit with the front desk for the room change to happen. And why was I lied to telling me that the noise was coming from the 10th floor when it was coming from the room next door? I would not recommend this room to anyone, based on this unacceptable customer service. And if you are going to Hopkins for an appt. and you are already not feeling well, avoid this hotel at all costs.

Nice looking hotel, though a little dated. No hot water in the shower, and had to wait 35 minutes for pool to open after asking three times. Breakfast was fair, but ran out of some of the food. Wouldn't stay here to enjoy the city, but will for the cruise connection.

« Great place to stay when cruising out of Baltimore »

We have now stayed at this hotel twice before cruises out of Baltimore and our experiences in both instances were very good. The staff is friendly, the restaurant (including the complimentary breakfast) was convenient and good, and the on-site transportation to and from the cruise port is very efficient and well run. If we cruise from Baltimore again this is where we will stay!

    « Enjoyable »

The hotel was fine to stay at. The rooms were comfortable. Some of the furniture in the lobby could stand to be updated. The shuttle to the cruise terminal was fantastic both directions - no waiting. The breakfast food selection was good and tasted good.

    « park and cruise »

i typed full detail of our problem on first page of survey. I chose this hotel for the park and cruise and ended up spending $210.00 to park because your transportation service was terrible and expected us to sit at the terminal for 7-8 hours and wait outside with a 2 year old and 80 year old. He was rude to me and told me that it was stupid that I was driving to the port instead of taking the shuttle at 10:15 am. VERY DISAPPOINTED!!!!

« Racist shuttle driver, great location, toilet didn't flush... »

I gave this hotel 3 stars because the front desk receptionists were very friendly, named Melrose and Victor, and very helpful with anything we asked. The rooms were clean and had a great view of the city. However, the toilet did not flush properly and the shower had lukewarm water, at best. I took off a star because of this, but you can see the attempt was there to make the place inviting. The most disappointing part was the shuttle driver, Damer. He was very friendly, but when I asked him about living in Baltimore, he informed me that he hated it because it was so terribly violent and the crime was incredible. I asked him where he lived, because I was actually in town to view homes to move to Baltimore for a new job, and he told me Towson. He continued to say that Towson was much better than downtown Baltimore "because downtown Baltimore is 90% black, and so the crime rate is much higher, whereas it is 0% in Towson because there is only about 10% blacks." Incredibly racists, and really unfortunate for Best Western to have him as talk to customer and drive the shuttle. He may be a good worker, arriving on time and he did answer my questions about where to go downtown, but don't tell people who have never been to Baltimore that the city is terrible, and the crime is incredible because of blacks.

« Good hotel for cruise park package »

We stayed in this hotel on November 7, 2015. We had three rooms total. Two of those rooms were 2 adults and 2 children and one of those rooms was 2 adults. The hotel lobby is in great shape and looks very nice. The staff who checked us in were very nice and informative. The rooms themselves were just OK. They need some updating but they were not dirty. Little things around the hotel such has room numbers and carpeting need to be replaced. The free breakfast was good. Hot items and cold items were replenished and fresh. Many options available and a lot of seating. The pool/gym area had an odd smell. They were redoing the hot tub so it was not working but it made the whole area look less then appealing. The shuttle company was set up right in the lobby. When it was our time to use the shuttle we went to the lobby, checked in with the shuttle staff and we were on our way soon after. We returned to our car on November 15, 2015 and all was good.

    « BED BUGSSSS! »

Please be careful when staying at this hotel. We drove about 6 hours for a concert on Friday afternoon, and planned on staying at this hotel for 2 days, as we were going to take advantage of the trip and go site seeing on Saturday. Well after the concert we were exhausted, and went to right to bed. Saturday morning when we woke up, we notice "King size BED BUGS" In our bed. Waking up to these nasty blood suckers, was terrible. We saw bed bugs on the pillows and in our sheet. Soon after seeing them on top of the bed, we decided to lift the mattress up to see if there were more. One word, DISGUSTING! There were MANYYY. Running all over the place. Big and small ones. We came to the realization that we had slept in a bed bug infested bed all night. I quickly decided that we needed to check out. But first, we gathered all of our belongings and placed them in plastic bags. What a nightmare! We called the front desk and told them what was going on, and they sent a housekeeper to our room. Upon arriving, the housekeeper was in shock with what she had saw. We then decided to go to our family's room next door, to let them know we were checking out and the reason why. Quickly our family decided that they too needed to inspect their bed, just to make sure that they didn't have any. Unfortunately, they had bed bugs all over their bed too. As you can imagine, it was crazy to see that in our room, but to also see that our family had bed bugs in their room too, was crazy. Our rooms were 718, 716 and 714. The bed bugs bit me all over my face, neck, arms, legs, feet and my lower back. I've had the worse 24 hours. I can't sleep because I am having some type of allergic reaction, where my skin is super itchy and red bumps are now popping up in the areas where I was biten. I am beyond upset and plan on taking this matter to corporate. Because all of our clothes were packed up in bags, as a precautionary measure, the only thing we had on were the clothes on our backs and couldn't extend our stay as all of our belongings were put away until we were able to wash and dry them. We had to cut our trip short and drive 6 hours back home. I was told that the manager was not at the hotel, but that I would be contacted by phone. No one has yet to contact me regarding this matter. I am hoping that this reaction that I'm having will go away soon. It has been almost.2 days since we checked out, and the reaction from the bites seem to be getting worse. WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!

    « Front desk; Melrose »

I stayed in this hotel for 2 weeks. This lady from front desk named Melrose helped me a lot during my stay here in this hotel. She always smile and pleasant to talk with. But I have few concern regarding this hotel. Laundry area should be free of charge and pillows should be changed. The cushion, the size and pillow cases are not good and should be replaced. Dining should have variety of choices and should not always repeat the menu everyday. I stayed 2wks but i had enough with the breakfast. I hope my concern will be looked at.

« Staff Gets The Very Good Rating »

Stayed two nights while my wife had a major operation at nearby Johns Hopkins Bayview Hospital. The hospital gave a nice full color glossy brochure for a special rate for families from a distance who have a family member at the hospital. I called the hotel, not the national reservations 800 number so that someone for sure would know about the offer. The person answering the phone at the hotel simply forwarded my call to Best Western national reservations call center. They, as expected knew nothing about it and refused to honor the special rate. I had no choice but to book a room because I needed a room real soon and did not have time to explore other options. However, when I checked out, the front desk staff was very nice about it and corrected the problem on the spot. So that is why I give this hotel a very good rating. Given the opportunity to just rate the accommodations, I would rate it barely average. The furniture in the rooms are worn hard and the bath has very ugly dirty nasty calk between the floor and walls and around the commode. The rooms are somewhat of a disappointment after having just been in the nice fancy lobby. They seem to cater to people staying there before going on a cruise out of Baltimore. They offer free parking and shuttle service for that. They can get away with not updating the rooms because they have no competition offering the same services in the immediate area .

    I. Was a patient at John Hopkins, parking and shuttle service were excellent. My family stayed for 5 nights. And received a reduced rate and flexible early checkout if desired. These perks were received because I of the desk clerks ERWIN who was well trained and informative took time to advise me. I booked through a Best Western operator who was not forthcoming with this important information, I would rate this customer service as a 1.

I must say the staff were all helpful, accommodating and welcoming. They seem like good people. The food in the restaurant was good. But...goodness, the furniture is very, very tired! Everywhere you look stuff is chipped and scuffed and stained. We got to the room and the beds seemed very clean and were very comfortable. But...the fabric armchair was so dirty, and arms literally buffed down to a sheen with wear, that it pretty much worried me to sit in it - which I did not. And on the carpet in front of that chair was a white spill of some sort that was crusty. Ugh. All of the wooden parts of the furniture in the room and public hallways was the same-exhausted. Really worn down. Corporate needs to put a good bit of money in the furniture of this place, so that the staff can be proud of their facility. We went into the restaurant and the fabric booths, again, the heavily stained fabric was a real turn off. If you like cleanliness, there are parts of this hotel that will not suit. Bathroom was tired too, although it seemed fairly clean. We did see a very substantial room cleaning effort the morning we left, so I know they are trying their best. This was a work trip and this hotel was what was in the area. Seemed to be the best choice. Not recommended as a holiday or luxury hotel at all. Again, everyone we dealt with was just fine. Come on, corporate, step it up and give them something to be proud of! The price was very reasonable as well...

« Hotel needs a lot of work »

I booked a Park and Cruise package through the hotel for $150 and it included: 1 night stay for 2 adults, breakfast, transportation to and from the port, and parking for my car for the duration of the cruise. I was charged an additional $30 in taxes that I was not informed about until I was checking out. The water in the bathtub was left running, a humidifier was left in my room, there was a musty cigarette smell, and to top it off my wife found a TICK in the bed. I informed the desk of these problems at checkout and they didn't seem too concerned but left a note for the manager. The manager called me while I was on my cruise and I returned his call when I got back from my vacation but he has not called me back from my message I left him to follow up. The breakfast was sub-par at best. I would have gotten a higher quality meal at McDonalds. The transportation provided was through an outside company and one of their drivers referred to this hotel as the "Side-piece hotel." I am pretty sure I saw a couple hookers "checking in" as I was getting my suitcases out of my car. Definitely would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

Stayed here before, because it's convenient to the facilities I visit. Great value, especially with corporate discount. The two ladies we had in the bar (two nights) both were terrific. We ate in the bar (to watch the baseball game), and the meal was very good. My bed was too soft, for my own preference.

Amenities are quite great! Big spacious room. I want to thank Mr Victor for helping us and explaining to us the directions to and from the various shopping places and attractions. He even offered his car for us to be able to go around the area which we politely refused because we might be lost. Well, Big thanks Victor. Great Staff, very accommodating esp Victor!

« Errant withdrawals have occurred from my VISA account on recent stay 10/19-20/2015. »

Our stays at this hotel for hospital visits have been generally pleasant, with shuttles, service and all. However, with the last stay of overnight October 19, 2015, departing October 20, 2015, there were duplicate withdrawals from my VISA account, plus a withdrawal in an amount not corresponding to any normal amount previously charged. It appears that my account has been compromised. As of the transmission of this message I am still awaiting response from the hotel accounting department. Thanks for your attention to this matter. « Pretty Disappointed »

I stayed at this hotel for the weekend for a conference. There were two other major events going on in the area so the hotel was booked to capacity. You would've thought, a hotel that is aware of the events for the weekend would schedule more staff members but no. It was frustrating getting something to eat one night at the restaurant downstairs because the same person making drinks, was also putting in orders for take out, collecting tender and walking back and forth to the kitchen to check on the orders. Another disappointment that occurred this weekend was in regards to front desk and miscommunication. My friends and I originally scheduled a shuttle for 8:30p. Given we were late, when we called at 8:37p to see what could be done. The front receptionist told us there were two shuttles on the way. We waited, in the cold at that, for about 20 minutes before calling back. When we called back we were told the shuttle was there at 8:30p and left, there was nothing they could do. It would have been really great if that was mentioned the first time we called so we wouldn't have wasted time standing on the corner in the cold waiting for shuttles that did not exist. My ONLY joyful experience in my stay was when I was able to take the shuttle in the morning with Moudy. Moudy is the most courteous, kind, and hard working driver I've ever had. He is very polite and it did not matter what time of day I seen Moudy, he always had great energy- I really appreciate him.

    « Excellent Value. »

Friendly greeting by Erwin. Quick check-in. Large comfortable room, good king bed. Nice fluffy linens and towels. Good daily service. Driver Moudy and free shuttle was like personal limo, including pick-up when we phoned from Fells Point. Hotel location east of downtown seems remote, but is only 10 or 15 minutes from Harbor, Johns Hopkins Hospital, Fells Point. Free parking on big lot saves at least 20 bucks a night. And no valet means no delay. Elevators clean and quick. Staff responded with good info about driving directions and restaurants. Breakfast staff friendly and efficient. But hot food just OK. Scrambled eggs tasted powdered. Sausage a bit oily. But overall, this hotel is an excellent value.

« Hotel that offer transport to Cruise Maryland »

I booked this hotel exclusively for the shuttle service to and from Cruise Maryland. I was going to have a wedding on-board a Carnival Cruise ship, while it was docked. The shuttle service is not offered by the hotel. but a 3rd party. The first thing I asked the hotel when I called was if the shuttle company provided transportation to and from the ship on the same day. The hotel said yes. The day of, the 3rd party company told me that they provided transportation to and from the ship, but when the ship returned, NOT SAME DAY SERVICE. So I basically had to scramble to get about 20 people into different cars to get to the boat and make sure they had a way to get back. It was very frustrating. If I knew this was going to happen, I would have picked a better hotel or gotten a lower rate. Second, this hotel is not located near the nicest of neighborhoods. The hotel does offer a shuttle service (different from the one I used) to downtown Baltimore that runs every half hour). There is also a third shuttle service for wedding parties (included in their wedding package) but I think you have to book the wedding at the hotel or something. There is a very popular comedy club located in the hotel also. Keep that in mind when booking because the parking lot, while free, can fill up quickly if you arrive during a comedy show.

I stayed at this hotel when my husband had surgery and they were very accommodating. The shuttle drivers took me back and forth from the hospital and went out of their way to help me. The room was comfortable and had everything I needed. The Johns Hopkins floor was nice and quiet which was much appreciated after being at the hospital all day. My husband will need future treatments and this will definitely be my hotel of choice in Baltimore.

« Amazing and fabulous hotel »

What a great, amazing and fabulous hotel to stay in. This was my first stay at this hotel. It is an amazing and fabulous hotel. It is a real five star hotel overlooking Baltimore. Huge free parking lot with great lobby. Great amenities and services. This hotel has a lot to offer. The free continental breakfast is a plus. This is a beautiful hotel. I will always stay at a best western hotel.

A good place to stay if you have appointments at Johns Hopkins Medical Center. There is a free shuttle to the medical complex. Also provided is a free shuttle to the warf where there are abundant shops and restaurants.

    « Great stay »

I stay often in Baltimore because I work here 3 days a week and live in VA, so having a place to stay every week gets to be challenging. I must say every time I stay at THE Best Western Plus I'm satisfied and I know I'll get a good night's sleep. Erwin is always helpful and ensures that I'm satisfied with my room. The others are also very friendly and most remember me since I stay here more than any other place. It's almost my home away from home. Gg

« If you don't mind bathing with cigarette smoke? »

Hotel reservations booked in March for a October Carnival cruise. Non-smoking room. Told, entire hotel is non-smoking. Upon check-in, asked for room away for other guests to reduce possibility of having to smell cigarette smoke, (because we knew that people do not follow rules). Upon entering room and bathroom, cigarette smell hit us in the face. Entire bathroom smelled of cigarette smoke, which seemed to be coming from the vents. Bathroom only had 1 wash clothe for 3 people!!! Housekeeping brought more towels and also smelled the cigarette smoke. Offered to spray OUR, brought from home, Lysol spray????

    « Better than expected 1 night pre-cruise »

My gf and I stayed here the night before a 7 day cruise and used the park and cruise package with the shuttle. We ate at the restaurant which was better than I expected. The room was okay but there was no reason to complain. The price was right and the shuttle service was GREAT. The drivers were very nice and personable and they skipped right to the front of the long lines the other cars/taxis had to wait on. Totally worth it for the 1 night.

    « Great stay »

We stayed one night before an 8 day cruise out of the Baltimore Pier. We were able to park our car for free the full 8 days. We arrived about 12:45 but our room was not ready. The hotel provided a free shuttle to the inner harbor and picked us up a few hours later. The shuttle also took us downtown later on for a game at Camden yards and picked us up after the game. The day we left for our cruise, they have a different shuttle to take us to the cruise port for free, and this shuttle was there as soon as we got our luggage after the cruise. We were back to the hotel and on the road home by 9 o'clock, the morning we returned to port. Everything was great. Did not eat at the hotel or use the pool, so I can't comment on those things. Definitely would stay there again if cruising out of Baltimore. The hotel is just off I 95. Easy on and off that highway.

« Hotel was great, pool not so much »

Hotel was great, staff was great, shuttle was great, breakfast exceeded expectations. Pool and hot tub were not great - hot tub was out of order and pool had large chunks of chlorine all over the bottom of it...perhaps not safe for swimming? But, the pool not being great wasn't a huge deal for the purpose of a vacation.

    « Park, Stay & Cruise »

We recently had the opportunity to stay at this Best Western plus Hotel before departing on a Bahamas Cruise for a week. We were able to park our car in the hotel parking lot, at no cost, for the duration of the cruise. The hotel had made arrangements with KD Elite Shuttle service for round trip service to the Port of Baltimore, again at no cost. They loaded and unloaded your luggage onto the van and to the ships porters who took your bags right onto the ship. The hotel was beautiful. The workers were very professional and helpful with every need. The modest morning breakfast buffet was ample enough to give you a good start to the day. It's good to know that this place exists. We are already thinking of our next cruise out of the Baltimore port. This Best Western Plus hotel will definitely be our choice to stay pre-cruise.

    « 60th Birthday Bash »

We had a great time that was only made better from the excellent service we received from staff at the hotel. Hotel staff came to car a upon arrival and got our bags. The most impressive was Moudy who transported us to and from events in Baltimore and recommended restaurants and other entertainment. The comedy show inside the hotel provided great late night out without worry of driving.

My husband was an ER admission to the downtown Johns Hopkins Hospital and remained over three weeks; the Best Western PLUS Hotel offered discounts for my room at the hotel and shuttle service to and from the hospital. The staff was MOST helpful, very protective over my safety, and very friendly.

This hotel gives a nice discount for patients at Johns Hopkins and provides a shuttle service. Access off interstate is easy but the surrounding area is rather bleak. Staff very friendly and responsive.
