"Nice, clean spot to stay!"
Alice C, 26 Septembre 2023

This was just what we needed after visiting the parks all day! And close to a cute restaurant across the street! And available to help out at all hours, even with the air conditioner at 9 pm! Well done!

"Great trip"
John F, 26 Septembre 2023

My wife and i traveled the black hills and were lucky to have a great stay at best western buffalo ridge while going to the custer state park. The staff was perfect rooms beautiful and the staff helped me with a problem which made my stay even better

"Would stay again."
onebirder, 18 Septembre 2023

We were very happy with our stay at this Best Western. Our room was very clean and the carpet and paint appeared fairly new. There were no mysterious stains on our carpet. The water pressure is good and the room was very quiet. The heat/AC worked fine and was fairly quiet. The breakfast offerings are the usual eggs, sausage, cereal, breads etc that you find at most motels. There is no elevator and the rooms open to the outside but there appears to be plenty of main floor lodging. The staff was friendly and cheerful. The reason for 4 stars is that there was a noticeable stale smell when you first walk in the room that one got used to pretty quickly. Might be unavoidable.

"Outstanding"
mthyng, 31 Août 2023

The rooms were very clean and the breakfast in the morning was different each day and very good. I would highly recommend this Best Western Hotel . If possible I'd give them a 10 star review. Also one of the most comfortable bed I've slept in at a hotel

"Clean, friendly, free breakfast."
randyk11, 23 Août 2023

Room was totally clean, which my wife demands. All of the staff were friendly and helpful. Buffet breakfast was a typical BW mix (and free). Indoor pool was a little cold. Reasonably close to the town center. My wife and I would stay here again when in this area.

"Smoke allergies beware"
007lauriesmith, 21 Août 2023

AC units in the rooms on the room block behind the main check-in, are positioned in the worst place possible for rooms to cool. Our room was unbearably hot all night with the wall angled to redirect all AC air into bathroom area. Plus, the intake for the AC unit was directly above the back employee/service entrance, so every break ALL night long, someone took a smoke break. We knew exactly when, because the room would immediately reek of cigarette smoke every time someone lit up. Actually opened up the room door at 1-3 in the morning to get some fresh(er) air into the room. Miserable night choking and gasping for a decent breath of air. (severe smoke allergies in our group) Breakfast was good. Just wish the room's AC circulation and smoking employee(s?) were better. Also, Custer has the added onus of nearly every family friendly diner/dinner establishment closing before the dinner hour. A lot of places for beer and wine, but not someplace to take the family. :/

"AC sucks, was over charged"
cmcreb, 19 Août 2023

AC is poorly located in room, does not cool the room properly. Room has a heavy moisture feeling. My card was authorized at check out for $500 when only needed $7.90. Resulted in me getting lots of overdraft charges. Requested first floor room, did not get that and hotel was never full my entire 6 night stay. No reason for it to not be granted. Breakfast if not good very bland tasting.

"Comfortable and friendly stop in Custer South Dakota"
Linda M, 02 Août 2023

Stayed two nights and really enjoyed it. The bed and pillows very comfortable. Included breakfast was excellent. The ladies who work in the breakfast area were super efficient at keeping everything well stocked, and great to visit with as well! Obviously has been renovated recently as everything was clean and neat, and in good repair. Thanks for a great stay!

"Our Stay in Custer"
petersonracing, 25 Juillet 2023

Great place to stay. Friendly courteous staff at check-in and checkout. The room was clean, comfortable and quiet. The breakfast was a good mix and delicious and the staff was amazing. The lobby is really comfortable and the had a great seating area outside to relax. I would stay here again.

"Just Needed a Place to Sleep and This was All We Needed"
PenguinForce, 18 Juillet 2023

We only needed a hotel for essentially sleeping and this place suited us perfectly. Nothing too grand but it was clean and just what we needed for a quick overnight stay. The breakfast included a French toast with a strawberry marmalade that was tasty as well. It is pet friendly but only the room with 1 queen bed is pet friendly so if you need 2 queen beds, you'll have to pay for a second room

"An Adequate Motel"
Paul S, 17 Juillet 2023

This is a whether old motel, but nicely located in Custer, South Dakota, a town near the Crazy Horse Memorial. We were checked in by the friendly staff into a first floor room, thankfully because they had no elevator. The air conditioner was high on the rear wall snf I wondered how I'd adjust it, until I found a remote control unit in the room. While it was a bit noisy, it was efficient. Breakfast was rather limited, but adequate.

"Great location"
Explore50237503466, 24 Juin 2023

Excellent location not far from many national monuments and many local attractions. We had a family suite that was a great size and value. Great hot breakfast options. We checked in late with no problem.

"Great Value & Friendly Staff"
Kelley N, 23 Juin 2023

Our family of 5 stayed in the family suite which had 2 rooms. Plenty of space for all of us. It's an older hotel with some updates and the beds were comfortable. Location is away from the center of town which made it nice and quiet. Breakfast was average selection and the staff did a great job making sure everything was stocked and clean. Would stay here again if in the area.

"Would not stay here again"
Tricia B, 20 Juin 2023

Rooms dirty. Odor of an unknown origin in rooms. 2 towels present for a "suite" with 3 queen beds. Pool furniture falling apart. Ac was so loud we had to turn it off. Hotel needs a good renovation. Would not recommend staying here anytime soon until they remodel.

"Adequate but . . ."
SLGinKzoo, 26 Septembre 2022

We stayed 4 nites. Located on the outskirts of town avoids the traffic. This is a relatively smallish room for that many nites. The heating system is dated and hard to adjust (a combo heat/AC unit mounted up too high on the wall to be able to read what the various adjustments are and there was no set of instructions.) No matter what setting, our clothes seemed to feel damp. Second floor access via exterior staircase; not so convenient with suitcases. Breakfast about average. Front desk staff generally helpful. Altho when my wife asked for a second luggage stand, she was told none available. I asked the morning person who had one sent up. All in all, just about adequate for our stay but not strongly recommended

"South Dakota trip"
mrscherbear, 17 Septembre 2022

We booked last minute and found this hotel very friendly. We would definitely stay again. The room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast was good, eggs bacon and toast. We were located close to Custer state park.

"Stay was okay, nothing special"
joetybo, 14 Septembre 2022

Rooms are very small and somewhat worn as of this writing (9/22). Breakfast was okay, not a reason to pick this hotel. It rained overnight and there was an annoying drip on a vent somewhere in the bath room that reverberated thru the room.

"Not really cliean"
ufoseattle, 13 Septembre 2022

Everything else was full so came to the BW. Comfortable beds. No really complaints. Bath room is really tiny, hard to even turn around in it. When sitting on the stool my head was in the bath tub. We found a pair of false eye lashes on the counter in the bath room so wasn't truly cleaned well. Friendly service. Other hotels don't have enough parking, no problem with parking here.

"good location and decent breakfast"
Lori M, 10 Septembre 2022

this place is a fine choice for Custer. good location, 6 minute walk to the pie shop and easy access to town. the breakfast is decent, lots of options. very nice lady at the front desk. the room was very cramped once we opened the sofa bed. also the a/c was loud and annoying but worked well.

"Needs Help"
Pat M, 22 Août 2022

Comfortable beds, shower was good, large sink counter for our things. Air conditioner is mounted in the wall higher than our heads so we had to stand on a chair to see the controls. Even after that, it turned on then stopped, even when lowering the temp. Every night. Very difficult to regulate a comfortable temperature. The TV is horrible. It has digital channels but goes to random numbers instead of just up and down as requested. We gave up and read our books instead. One day breakfast had leather sausage patties and scrambled eggs that were inedible, another morning breakfast was quite tasty with egg/cheese omelets.. They also offered yogurt, fruit, & mini muffins. Wifi is poor to fair and kept dropping us off. Not all ground floor rooms are where you can park in front and there is no elevator for the 2nd floor rooms. I expect better from the Best Western brand. Even though I slept well, I would not stay here again.

"pleasant stay"
sunflower48, 10 Août 2022

Not a "show place" but everything we needed. Bed was fine. Couch needed to be replaced as someone very heavy must have been sitting on it and made cushions misshapen. Breakfast area very nice and the attendants very busy making sure there was plenty of everything. Good coffee!

"Fun Stay!"
gloriainmexico, 09 Août 2022

We enjoyed our three night stay at the BW Buffalo Ridge Inn. We stayed here during the first three nights of the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally. The young women at the front desk were very helpful & friendly. Our room was clean & comfortable, king bed, a/c, sufficient towels & toiletries. Coffee maker in the room & a good hot breakfast in the large, clean breakfast room. There were many people on motorcycles also staying at the hotel. The hotel was welcoming & well organized to accommodate the bikers. Even with so many bikers, all was quiet at night.

"The Hotel to stay at"
Travelfamily1232022, 06 Août 2022

This hotel had a great value and location to all the restaurants and local attractions. I would like the A/C to work a little more efficient in the warm weather. Other than the A/C this hotel has everything to offer any traveling family or couple or single...

"Welcome respite in Custer!"
GeorgiaBirdGirl, 04 Août 2022

When hot temps and spotty Cell service made us change our SD camping plans, we quickly contacted this property. What a great find! Centrally located for all the local attractions, including Mt. Rushmore and Jewel Cave.

"Comfortable stay"
Dan L, 02 Août 2022

We have been staying here a few days while visiting the Black Hills. Very comfortable property with queen sized bed - shower/bath combination, and normal amenities. The temperature could be controlled easily. There's a nice indoor pool. Complimentary breakfast is just okay - powdered eggs, sausage, french toast - but all right. These time of year - lots of Sturgis bikers in town.

"Great place"
megancarter82, 31 Juillet 2022

We enjoyed our stay, the room was clean and just what we needed. The front staff gave us good suggestions for places to eat and it looks like a fabulous pool. There wasn't an elevator, but that wasn't a big deal. They had a good variety of foods for breakfast, except for no fruit and nothing to drink, except a pitcher of water. If they had fruit and get juice drink machine that would definitely gotten five. We don't drink coffee and our kids were thirsty eating the cute waffles and biscuits. Husband love the best getting gravy and said it was the best food we had this trip.

"Very good hotel"
Alistair G, 25 Juillet 2022

Really nice place to stay. Hotel has a good location.....not in the middle of town but not out-of-town either. Within easy walking distance of restaurants. We stayed here four nights and enjoyed a good breakfast with plenty of choice each morning. Rooms were clean and a decent size. Very pleasant and helpful staff. Just a good all round hotel which I'd recommend to anyone and everybody.

"What a great place to be"
Dolores G, 11 Juillet 2022

Getting our first visit to South Dakota did not Prepared us for one of the most wonderful experience we have ever had. Best Western Buffalo Ridge just added to it. The front desk personnel was very helpful with fulfilling our needs when reservation desk made a small mistake. The inn's personnel was ready to make sure we were served and satisfied. Thank you Tayler and everyone else for making this the greatest place to be. We love SD.

"Great Custer hotel!"
MarkC514056, 10 Juillet 2022

Great location to Custer State Park and the surrounding things to see. Hotel was near many restaurants, gas stations, stores and places to sight see. While the hotel is older and the rooms were on the smaller side, it was very clean and comfortable.

"Great Stay and Great Value"
Cheryl B, 01 Juillet 2022

We were greeted by Stephanie at the front desk when we arrived. She was very friendly and professional. We were a bit early, so she checked us in but couldn't give us our keys yet. She suggested a great Mexican restaurant to try while we waited. Then she called to tell us our room was ready. The room was clean, comfortable and in good condition. We got a great senior rate for two nights. The breakfast area (lobby) was large enough to accommodate everyone and the hot food was good. Plenty of choices to choose from and friendly staff. A great location when traveling to Mt Rushmore.

"Traveling, 1 night stop"
Traveler680611, 20 Juin 2022

Very nice . Staff was nice and helpful. Room was very clean. Close to town. Breakfast was fine. Would stay there again. This site requires a minimum of 200 characters, but I have said all that I felt was pertinent

"Accommodating"
coryb745, 01 Juin 2022

My room was very cozy. The bed was very comfortable. And the staff that I had the pleasure of dealing with were absolutely amazing! I was in the area for business reasons and will be back again for the same and will definitely choose this hotel again. Very pleased!

"Spiders, falling clothes rack, long walk and disappointing breakfast."
612garyo, 26 Mai 2022

Called motel directly to make reservations. Explained that handicap room wasn't required but needed room near lobby due to husband broke neck, has cancer and heart disease. Is unable to walk distance. Was assured it would be near lobby. Room 105 was near the end of wing. Was told handicap was located in back and even farther from lobby. First night, about 10:30 pm, found large spider in sink. Captured it and took it to lobby. Was told it was harmless wolf spider and very common in Black Hills. Later a front desk employee came to ask if we wanted another room. I told her we needed one near lobby. Nope, only room available was right next door. Found another spider next evening in bathroom and next day, one was on luggage. When hanging our clothes, noticed entire rack was about to fall off wall. Didn't hang heavy coats on it. Toilet paper holder (recessed) would fall out every time we touched it. Breakfast was limited; no meat of any kind. Scrambled eggs 2 mornings; biscuits and gravy next morning. Manager acted obtuse when I was trying to explain clothes rack needing repair. Kept asking "In the closet?" Room does not have a 'closet'. When I said near the sink, she said "Oh, that's the closet.". Friends (room 103) had to get a blanket from office because air conditioner wasn't operating correctly, would make roaring noise when it came on and changed from heat to cool at will. Manager said filter probably needs changing, something must have flown into it. On the upside, beds were comfortable and parking at door is a big plus. We stayed here in 2017 and had a wonderful experience. Not this time.

"Quiet and comfy"
Ras65kf, 19 Mai 2022

We are best western members and stayed at this property for two nights while in the area. The staff were friendly and helpful, the room was clean and comfy, and no problem with (street) noise. It is conveniently located to shops and restaurants as well as Custer state park and other attractions

"Empty Nesters visiting the area"
Stacey H, 19 Mai 2022

Friendly staff. Room was great for the price. Breakfast staff was helpful. This location is great for seeing the area. Some nice shops and restaurants in Custer too. We didn't spend a lot of time in the room. Too much to see in South Dakota.

"Older And Well Kept Motel"
Paul G, 07 Octobre 2021

We stayed for one night as we were attending the 2021 Round Up. We were gone much too early ( 4.30am) for breakfast, however the check in ( we used express check out ) and the room were both very good. While not a five star hotel, it is quite comfortable for an overnight stay,

"Excellent stay in Custer SD."
scbond57, 27 Septembre 2021

From the moment we arrived until we departed can not say enough about the warm and efficient staff. Great stay highly recommend. Will definitely stay again on a return trip to the Black Hills area of SD.

"Terrible Best Western"
Elizabeth T, 22 Septembre 2021

This was an awful place to stay. No room cleaning daily, had to ask for towels, sullen housekeeping & desk clerks. No milk at breakfast, biscuits were cold! AC went out in the middle of the night but my husband was able to fix it (on a timer), upstairs rooms which I don't maneuver well. Just a horrible place but we were gone most of the time so we endured it! Never again though. I don't recommend this place to anybody. Should have stayed at holiday inn or comfort suites across the road. Anywhere but this place!

"Family vacation"
JILLSTARR, 18 Septembre 2021

Just a terrible hotel, blood on wall, a/c did not work soap left in shower from previous occupants. Just disgusting for almost $200 a nigh. Never asked at check out how room was. Room smelled. Hot tub out of order.

"Vacation in Custer SD"
honim2019, 13 Septembre 2021

this is a moderate priced hotel with excellent staff and customer service. All of the staff were helpful some welcoming and cheerful. This made our stay relaxed and enjoyable. The rooms were clean and they have many cable tv channels to watch when resting .

"Four night stay"
lindakerr8, 03 Septembre 2021

Doing some local sight seeing and booked this hotel; reminds you of the 50's-60's motels. The check-in process was easy and fast...we had gift cards and was told to email to hotel and they will be credited (hope that works). Requested high room and got it...room was clean, comfortable and bed was just right. Pool was heated...but still too cold for us, hot tub broken...offered other hotels! A MUST for our tired bodies!!! Breakfast ladies were a joy, very funny and were always ready to lend a hand! Beautiful area, close to attractions...would stay again!!

"Ok for the Area"
Gerald E, 30 Août 2021

Nothing outstanding about this hotel, but the rooms we fine except for an "old hotel" smell, for which we left the door open for a while to help. Staff was friendly, beds were good and the in-room refrigerator actually froze our ice blocks. Breakfast was ok, though pretty standard. Would still stay there again.

"Not worth over $200 per night"
jefferye884, 13 Août 2021

We booked a single king bed room for 8/13/2021. When we checked in the girl was very pleasant. She had us booked on the second floor with no elevators so we had to lug our suitcases, etc up the stairs and down an exterior hall way to our room. When we entered the room it smelled like a musty basement. I noticed the light on the window thru the wall air conditioning unit had the clean the filter light. Later in the evening after hiking all day my wife and I were looking forward to relaxing in the advertised hot tub only to find out it is out of order. When I issued my complaint at the front desk the girl smirked and said it has be down for several months as they are waiting for a part. I asked why they didn't inform us of this when we booked it especially when we are paying over $200/night to stay here. She said we could use the hot tub across the street. REALLY!! I expressed my disappointment and she apologized with a smirk on her faced and told me to take it up with the manager in the morning, This place is very dated and we would not recommend.

"Older hotel but friendly staff"
dianawaites, 01 Août 2021

This is an older hotel that still needs some updating, however it wasn't bad for a one nights stay. We did have an issue with our ac which kept freezing up and then shutting off, however the manager (I assume) took care of it quickly and found us another room, even though they were fully booked. She apologized several times and made sure we were satisfied. Once that was taken care of we were able to get some rest. Not a bad nights stay

"Not bad for an older motel"
Mel D, 01 Août 2021

Although the motel was older some upgrades had been made which overall enhanced the experience. the bathroom had been upgraded and the bed was comfortable. Considering COVID restrictions the staff did very well at providing additional towels and other bathroom necessities as needed and in a cooperative manner.

"3 night stay July 22-25"
kimfX9842MX, 28 Juillet 2021

Hotel room was small but comfortable. Very comfortable bedding and mattress. Nice shower. When we came back to the room on the second day though, the room was not cleaned up, no fresh towels, cups, coffee for the coffee maker. You have to request maid service at the front desk if you want it. Otherwise, you have to go to the front desk and get supplies yourself. Strange. After requesting though, the next day everything was fine. Breakfast was good with a lot of variety. We would stay here again.

"my hotel stay during my visit to South Dakota"
madmax1965, 26 Juillet 2021

There were a few problems at this hotel. First off, People who are towing trailers carrying these 4 wheelers taking up 6 parking spots in the lot, resulting in no avail spaces if you get back to the hotel after 8 pm. that happened every day for the 5 days i was there; secondly no room cleaning, meaning you had to go to the front desk to get fresh towels and soap and toilet paper. Thirdly, the hot tub by the pool was scalding hot, basically unable to get in it.

"Disappointed"
Jennifer D, 23 Juillet 2021

After pouring over the reviews, we booked at this Best Western figuring it would be a safe bet. But because our room was literally in the lower level, not even the ground floor, we were completely thrown off. It was like entering a dungeon each time we walked down the hall. There was a huge stain and dirty socks on the rug upon entry. The bathroom door opened out so it literally blocked entrance into the room any time it was open. The hotel claimed it had been recently renovated, but adding new light fixtures and a larger tv does not constitute renovated. The dark furniture, heavy bedskirts, and dark linens on the bed just gave the feeling of an outdated and dirty room. Breakfast was an absolute disaster and our family of five actually ended up skipping it. There were no covid precautions in place. While I realize many people believe the pandemic to be over and do not want to take precautions, some travelers are still trying to be cautious. The sitting area for breakfast is crammed against the buffet area, so it is impossible to distance or quickly move through the line due to the amount of people sitting on top of you. We just wanted to grab prewrapped food and coffees for our day long drive but we opted out. Across the street are newer looking Comfort Suites and a Holiday Inn - look there before you book here. It is not worth the money.

"Good times had by all"
lindsaymcordeliak, 22 Juillet 2021

The girl that took our reservation was SO nice and helpful over the phone and at check-in the staff was very pleasant. Our room was clean and as described, and the breakfast was amazing! Biscuits and gravy, my favorite! Thanks for a wonderful stay, keep up the good work!

"after pandemic vacation"
dgisi, 18 Juillet 2021

This was not the newer style Best Western but was very clean and beds and furneteur where good quatity. Even though this was after things opened up after the pandemic and they where under stafed, they quickly took care of any thing we needed. I would stay there again and recomend it to family and friends

"Very comfortable stay"
emringle, 13 Juillet 2021

This was a great home base for our trip to the Black Hills. We had 2 kids 9-11 who enjoyed the pool. The room was a good size for the time we were in it, and the bed and pillows were very comfortable. The kids were on the sofa bed and they said it was very comfortable as well.

"visiting area"
Lorraine S, 11 Juillet 2021

Nice stay, clean rooms friendly staff. Good Location easy to find and close to many of the area attractions. beautiful scenic routes to drive in the area and close to a good restaurant. Would stay here again

"Great Stay!"
4Travelers2021, 03 Juillet 2021

Clean rooms, pet friendly. Good variety for hot breakfast options included in stay. Friendly and accommodating staff. Big indoor pool great for kids. Hot tub was a little too hot for my liking. Room was good size for 2 adults, 1 child and a small dog.

"Super nice & friendly place"
mary3bck, 03 Juillet 2021

Very nice & friendly place. Easy to get to. Located within walking blocks of things to do. Very clean & comfortable rooms. And honestly, the continental breakfast was the best we've ever had! Way more than just cold cereal & fruit. Would definitely stay here again!

"Rushmore reunion"
figgers7, 28 Juin 2021

Very nice motel. Staff were all very pleasant and helpful. Fairly priced compared to similar motels in the area. Breakfast was good and it's close to several restaurants and attractions for adults and children.

"Wow, we REALLY liked this place!"
Kates9999, 28 Juin 2021

So many things to like here! The indoor pool & hot tub were great! The "business center" is an open space in the lobby, that is also utilized for their amazing HOT breakfast of eggs, sausage, biscuits . . . FABULOUS! The room was a bit small, but we never felt cramped or claustrophobic. The bed was amazingly comfortable & the shower had wonderful water pressure. They are dog-friendly, & have a lovely seating area just off the lobby were we sat with our dog for both breakfast AND refreshments (they sell adult beverages from a self-service area of the lobby). We walked to a couple of restaurants & played miniature golf directly across the street. The location is also an easy drive to other touristy points of interest in the area. Also, my interaction with the delightful young lady I assumed to be a manager (and who's birthday it must've been) was the BEST example of how customer service should be. My husband & I HIGHLY recommend this place!

"Pool, breakfast & nice stay for reasonable price"
Luvfeedback, 24 Juin 2021

Picked this place as a shot in the dark. Was pleasantly surprised. Decent pool, reasonable breakfast options, and clean room. Would recommend to those who want a great option without breaking the bank.

"A Great Stay"
Alpine524, 06 Juin 2021

I was pleasantly surprised with the Best Western Buffalo Ridge Inn. The property is an old, maybe 50s or 60s style roadside motel, with one and two story buildings. On arrival, the property was very clean and well-maintained. Check-in was fast, and service good. Our party had two rooms, one in a one-story, and one on the second floor of the two-story. I'm used to staying in modern-styled hotels, and was pleasantly surprised with how nice, clean, and we'll appointed the newly-remodeled rooms were. The layout reminded me of the roadside motels we stayed at on family road trips when I was a kid. These rooms were appointed with modern fixtures, furniture, good air conditioning, coffee maker, hair dryer, microwaves, TVs, refrigerators, and a very comfortable bed—Plus, a really good shower. Even though this is a pet-friendly hotel, the rooms and carpets were spotless. I have stayed in several different hotels for over a month so far this year, and this one was the cleanest, nicest, and had the best breakfast. A bonus is the nostalgic vintage charm. If you are towing a trailer like we were, I'd recommend arriving early to claim your parking spot. (There are several available behind the main building, and in the main lot). I will definitely stay here again.

"Good Value"
LoveTravel80796, 04 Juin 2021

We chose to stay here because last visit we stayed at the Comfort Inn across the street for a week. While the Comfort Inn itself was very nice, the front desk personnel were less so. The front desk at the Best Western was always staffed with very friendly people. The hotel itself is older and slightly worn, but clean and everything worked. A bit strange that you had to get on a chair to regulate the A/C. The only negative was the stairs. They could be a bit dangerous for elderly or very small children. But we had asked to be on the second floor so we managed just fine. The breakfast was good and the lady attending to it was very nice and unobtrusive. The weekend lady was kind of intrusive, but guess she just thought she was being helpful. Plenty of parking. Priced fairly. The room had a strange smell….maybe from dogs in the room prior to our visit.

"excellent stay in Custer"
tanyal894, 02 Juin 2021

The room was clean, air conditioning and heat worked very well. All the amenities needed for a stay. Quiet and restful sleep. wonderful continental breakfast with great staff that maintained cleanliness after guest left each table. Staff accommodated any concerns we had. Overall a great stay would do it again. Much better than the Game Lodge we stayed at for 1 night. what a Joke that was.

"Not a Restful Nights Sleep"
HollyVargas123, 02 Juin 2021

Walls are paper thin, thus not a good nights sleep - had to be moved to an upstairs room to sleep past 5 AM, the staff was great. However, pretty sure there was black mold around the tub. The breakfast was pretty good.

The Buffalo Ridge BW is a nice place to stay. It was better than a lot of other accommodations we noticed. Building is a bit aged, but the interior was nicely done. Breakfast was greatly appreciated. The kids appreciated the pool. Staff were helpful and knowledgeable. Conveniently located on the west edge of town. Overall a good experience. Would stay there again.

"Perfection"
marthaannflores, 24 Mai 2021

Welcoming, comfortable, CLEAN, restful. I will stay at this place again. I felt safe the room was perfectly cleaned. Close to the center of town. Plenty of parking. The only irritating thing about the hotel is having to fill out the survey with 200 characters.

"Tour of South Dakota"
49bonnies, 06 Mai 2021

This was the only hotel we stayed at all week that the staff did not wear masks as the Best Western policy states. Staff very friendly & helpful, tho. Breakfast not as good as most Best Westerns, especially scrambled eggs. Hot tub almost scalding hot.

"Confirmation Received, Location Closed"
lindsaybuda, 24 Août 2020

We booked a room for one night at this location and received a confirmation email. One day prior to arriving, I received an email entitled, “Looking Forward to Seeing You” from Best Western. We arrived and the building was closed and empty, and appeared to be under some construction. I called customer service, and was transferred to voicemail. I then received a request to provide feedback on our stay the next day. We had to drive 40 additional miles to find a room at another hotel that could accommodate our family on a Saturday night. Very unhappy customers!

"Great Location"
Janet C, 11 Novembre 2019

We stayed here for only one night during our stay in South Dakota. Rooms are clean and breakfast was included. Free parking onsite. Check in was quick and easy. Located close to the main street where there are many restaurants.

"best western"
RoyandNancy2019, 04 Octobre 2019

We went to Custer State Park for the Buffalo Roundup, and the staff went out of their way to please their guest's they even started serving breakfast at 4:30 a.m. so we could get going. Our room was clean, and quiet our heater could of worked better, but we would absolutely go back, Thank You Nancy Holste

"good location for area attractions"
osbch, 27 Septembre 2019

We always look for a Best Western when traveling- originally booked here because pets are allowed (2 small dogs) but ended up traveling without them & kept reservation anyway. First trip to Mt. Rushmore area, easy to reach sites of interest from hotel.

"Good Night's Stay"
Lynn W, 23 Septembre 2019

We stayed one night in May while traveling through the area. We arrived about 5 pm, check in was quick and easy with Winzer (??). Our room, #134 ($171), was spacious with several electrical outlets on the nightstand. There was plenty of counter space, a microwave and fridge. The hotel is easy to get to from the highway and sits back from it so there's not much noise. Our room had an interior entry and faced the parking lot. Several restaurants are nearby, withing walking distance. It had been raining earlier and the temp was cool so we used the heater in the room. The heater ran all night but didn't cycle on and off so not too much noise. Breakfast the next morning consisted of scrambled eggs, sausage, bacon (the lady offered to make me some after learning I don't like sausage), gravy and pastries. Would definitely stay here again.

"Wonder if management cares about guests"
tacitus27, 04 Septembre 2019

This was one night in hell. We were told the motel had been renovated. It was not. It was undergoing renovation. It took one tick short of eternity to check in. The guy had us repeat the same information countless times. Upon entering the room there was a strong sewer order. After entering the bathroom, and seeing very poor workmanship on the repairs, we figured out the water in the traps had evaporated and that was the source of the odor. Bottom line some workman or men had worked in the room and had not checked their work or even more damning no one from the motel had insured that the room was ready for human occupancy. Some lights didn't work, outlets were missing wall plates, and other examples of poor work and no inspection. The TV took the prize though. It didn't work. After three calls to the desk ( NO ONE BOTHERED TO COME) and a wait of 90 minutes it was determined nothing could/would be done that night. Management didn't care enough about guests to even inspect the room to see if it was ready for guests. I wrote the motel and their corporate management and in keeping with their style, neither responded. I'll never stay at any Best Western again.

"What a great place to stay"
kirkspockbones, 02 Septembre 2019

I was actually surprised by the incredible value and hospitality of this hotel. Because it was Best Western, I did expect great service, however, even I was blown away by how friendly and helpful the Ruth was.

"Fabulous Stay"
LinzJ13, 31 Août 2019

We checked in a little after 5pm after a long drive, Aimee was so welcoming and informative. Room was perfect, pretty standard of a Best Western (a great standard, that's why we use them so much), breakfast was brilliant as usual. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend. Parked right outside the room, all communal areas were spotless, beautiful hanging baskets. Another smiley face greeted us in the morning and at check out, I'm sorry I never caught your name. Perfect base for South Dakota Black Hills National Forest, Mount Rushmore, and the stunning Crazy Horse.

"Ummmmm, no"
Hollycaroline, 22 Août 2019

We did the hotel a favor by agreeing to switch from a 2 queen to a king room the day before we arrived. They assured us there would be room to sleep all 3 of us. When we arrived in the dark after a very long day of driving, we couldn't find a clerk. Then we couldn't find parking. Then we took what felt like a 2 mile hike uphill to our upstairs room with our large suitcases. Then there was nowhere for our son to sleep. They had to go to another hotel to borrow a roll-away bed. Ridiculous! Actual room was fine.

"Great service!!"
BeckyTroy, 20 Août 2019

We first tried to book online with the hotel's actual website but had some issues - so called the hotel directly and booked that way... Upon arrival & after showing our confirmation email we were informed that our room was canceled due to Expedia- we did NOT use Expedia... however the front desk clerk- WINZER took exceptional care of us... got us into the same room that we had booked but at a much cheaper rate & it was beautiful! We had an oversized "king" room.. huge room, beautiful layout with fireplace, mini kitchenette, awesome shower (exhaust fan was a little loud), bright & subtle lighting, & the bed was beyond comfy!! We were upstairs 230 but it was a short flight of stairs. Breakfast was busy but the selections were numerous & very tasty!! Checkout was quick as well!!

"Best Western Buffalo Ridge Inn, Custer, South Dakota"
1KentuckyGirl, 17 Août 2019

We spent three nights at this hotel. Out of a ten day trip, this was the best stay hands down. Nerine was the lady who took care of our check in and answered all our questions! Everyone we encountered was friendly and professional. I really can't say enough good things about our experience. I would highly recommend this hotel to everyone!!

"Toxic environment"
travelers1138, 15 Août 2019

Overall the stay was good, rooms were clean staff very friendly, location was perfect close to all.I then saw the supervisor shouting at her front desk employees. It was extremely uncomfortable to watch and very unprofessional. No one wants to hear that while on vacation early in the morning when i am suppose to be enjoying my morning coffee which was very good.

"Better than expected"
bridget A, 12 Août 2019

My large extended family stayed at this hotel 8-10/19.Great price, service is excellent. Very friendly staff checked us in. Thank you Aimee & Nathan. We were given bottles of water & power bars, nice touch after a long travel day. We we a little late for breakfast, they were cleaning up. No problem, let me fix you something said Laura, how is that for service? She ,was very pleasant and welcoming, as was her assistant. Food was adequate, the usual breakfast fare. The room & bath were immaculate. Only downside was the odor not sure what it was maybe damp? Left the door open for a while & it was better. Family enjoyed pool & hot tub. Location was good for us. Close to downtown and activities we were interested in. It was Sturgis rally week & though lots of bikes it was fine.

"Sturgis Week stay"
JayHines, 12 Août 2019

Make reservations in advance and follow up to confirm. The facility is the best for a motorcycle rally and they give each guest great support for cleaning and keeping the motorcycles clean, safe and secure. The staff is all in for supporting the rally and were full of suggestions and helpful hints for riding the Black Hills.

"Highly Recommended"
Theresa A, 07 Août 2019

Nice rooms, lots of options for breakfast. Staff were friendly and personable. The staff at the desk all appear very genuine. Hot tub broke which was highly disappointing, but not something staff can control. Fortunately, we were able to use the hot tub at the hotels across the street. Close to everything we wanted to do in the area....Mt. Rushmore, Jewel Cave, Custer State Park.

"Manager was Great!"
tosh_247, 06 Août 2019

We attempted to check into an overbooked hotel. Windsor, the manager, set us up with a nicer room across the street at the same rate that we had initially booked. He was cordial and very professional, and I will go back to stay here because of him. Thanks, Windsor!

"Too much pet friendly"
Duane - Glenda Z, 03 Août 2019

We called in advance to verify our room was pet free on the ground floor. They did not have that instruction from the reservation that should have been there. There were dogs all over and one was even running loose. The AC/heat in our room did not work properly and kept going down to 65. The room was noisy. You could hear talking in the room next door and every time someone walked across the floor above. The room was very large but did not have a desk.

"Great service and very pleasant stay!"
GinnyB523, 29 Juillet 2019

Hotels.com messed up my 7-day reservation and Winzon at the front desk -- hope I got his name right -- jumped through hoops to recover and make up for the problem. The room was immaculate, spacious, quiet, and very comfortable. Breakfast areas, inside and outside, were very pleasant. There was a lot to choose from for full breakfast. As with all hotels' free breakfasts that I have experienced, the scrambled eggs and creamed sausage weren't great, but, like I said, I have yet to find good scrambled eggs in any free breakfast. The patty sausage was good. Didn't try anything else, so I can't speak to the other options, but, like I said, there were plenty of nice choices. I thought I would need a rollaway for one of the nights and they put it in my room as I requested, but since it didn't actually get used, they did not charge me for it, which, in all fairness, they could have. So I thought that was nice of them I truly feel that service to the guest is a top priority at this inn and I highly recommend it

"Thank you"
AndyJ2117, 14 Juillet 2019

We stayed here for one night on a 3 week road trip from Denver to Yellowstone and the Black Hills. Early check in was fine but unfortunately we arrived on the day that they were changing the locks so we then found ourselves having to stay in the room for an hour or two while this was sorted. Unfortunate, but these things happen. My wife had morning and evening swims in the pool, which was nice though busy with families during the daytime. Nice room and breakfast. Plenty of eating options in town. Thank you.

"SD experience!"
jkmomsue, 09 Juillet 2019

Great location for visiting Custer State Park, Crazy Horse and Rushmore! Recently remodeled, very comfortable rooms. Staff was very kind. When our air conditioner didn't work they were able to move us to a new room.

"Decent stay w/biscuits and gravy every morning"
MeggoMegs, 06 Juillet 2019

Not the most romantic or best place we could have stayed at for our anniversary vacation. But we were late in booking so that's our fault. The hot tub was super small, felt like we were taking a bath with another couple or the others that got in with us which makes one feel forced to talk to them. Otherwise the hotel room was pretty clean for the most part although the toilet had some sort of leak going on around the base. And the shower floor was super creaky. It was nice we were able to plug our fire stick into the TV they had in the room and watch Netflix in the evenings before bed.

"small rooms"
Pamela P, 04 Juillet 2019

We stayed for three nights. the room was very small. there was only two of us and we barely fit. .The towels were very poor quality and we were only provided with 2 for two adults. The bed was Okay the pillows poor quality as well. The housekeeping staff did a great job and when we requested extra towels they provided them the room was leaned daily and they did a good job.

"Excellent hotel, convenient to local attractions like Black Hills, Mt Rushmore, and Crazy Horse memorials."
Guaposcott, 24 Juin 2019

Great spot, easy access to local attractions, very friendly, helpful staff. Tasty breakfast including juices, breakfast eggs/bacon/sausages, waffles and more. Open patio off breakfast room is nice addition. Quiet, clean rooms were toasty warm during cool nights.

All room amenities were good and functional. Plenty of hot water. All staff were helpful and polite. Breakfast was exceptional with a large selection of food to choose from. Pool was clean and hot tub was clean and hot. My two biggest problems were to initially get my room key card to work and the king size mattress was too hard for me.

We chose this hotel because of the location which was good based on our agenda. The breakfast was very good, the rooms clean, and the property was convenient. The breakfast staff person, Laurie, was very friendly and eager to please.

Stayed at the Best Western Buffalo Ridge Inn in Custer Sd. The motel was very clean. The room even had an electric fire place. The staff was very nice and even in the breakfast area the manager came over and asked about our stay. Laura was very kind in the breakfast area and kept it very clean. We enjoyed our stay very much

Great place!! They are going through some major renovations so not all is up and running!!! People in all areas were very nice!! It was their first night open when we arrived but things were up and running!!

torunnf813, 15 Octobre 2018

Stayed here for 4 nights. Clean rooms, good service and if you wanted any help you got good hekp. The beds were good and we got a good breakfast every morning. Recommend this place to anyone. Enjoy your stay, and if I come back, I'll stay here again.

"A convenient place to explore the area"
Thelionroars, 02 Octobre 2018

We booked for 5 days at Buffalo Ridge Inn and ended up staying for 7 days as there was so much to see and do in Custer State Park and it's environs. The accommodation was what you would expect from a Best Western, clean & comfortable and a cooked breakfast. The breakfast room is badly lad out and a bit on the small side for the amount of rooms. Plenty of eating places nearby. The guys in the reception were extremely helpful as were the breakfast staff. For seeing wildlife, the loop road from the visitors centre is worth exploring. A stop in a lay-by outside of Keystone gives excellent views of Mount Rushmore and the 244? 224? road is also worth exploring for views of Mount .Rushmore. A trip to Hot Springs and the Mamoth museum and visitors centre is worthwhile. Crazy Horse is also worth a visit. It is possible to visit Badlands NP in a day but is a long drive.

"Great experience!"
O496YVpatriciag, 25 Septembre 2018

This hotel is just what is says it is. It has a very friendly, efficient staff, clean rooms, and an adequate breakfast served by 2 super women. They really enjoy their job and do A great one. A very good deal for the price and location.

"Perfect Custer location and VERY pet friendly"
bobkatran, 18 Septembre 2018

Seldom do you find a tourist location hotel so perfectly located and PET FRIENDLY! We were impressed from the beginning with the cleaning crew and breakfast crews. The rooms are not new but they are very very clean. The housekeeping service seems to be ever present, and they are smiling and friendly at each encounter, asking what the outing for the day is. The breakfast setup was there at 6 am with wonderful coffee and food choices. We did not leave hungry any of our 3 days there. The front desk overnight lady was super nice and responsive to the one small issue we had. We were able to walk the dog and cat in our choice of several nice grassy areas. The rooms include a coffee maker and brand new refrigerators and microwaves. We were able to walk to the shops and restaurants in town more easily than driving or parking with the great location, yet it is quiet at the hotel because it is set up hill off the main road. We even had an impromptu hot air balloon show on the front lawn!

"Convenient"
damnfingers, 04 Septembre 2018

Close to highway, easy to get into...also close to fast food restaurants and one excellent Mexican restaurant! Beds were good and so was the breakfast. Pain in the butt trying to type 200 characters when you've already said everything needing to be said!

"Check the Room First"
plfcowgirlval, 20 Août 2018

On the plus side, the location was very convenient and close to shopping, restaurants and some activities. Breakfast was included with our stay. Our room was clean and had a coffee maker. The bed was fairly comfortable and the shower head had nice water pressure. On the negative side, occasionally there was some kind of loud noise coming from the other room's plumbing and I could hear people walking around upstairs and up and down the stairs.

"For Custer, a decent stay"
chloewalker617, 13 Août 2018

We came to see Mount Rushmore, Bears, and Devils Tower - we decided to go with the cheapest option with a central location. It wasn't bad, i would recommend possibly bringing your own pillows as for some reason the pillows at this location are tiny couch pillows and not standard sized pillows. Also the hot tub during our visit had so much chlorine it did burn our eyes, we let the front desk know. For just a 1 night

"Nice stay"
crazycampinlady, 06 Août 2018

The room was clean and there was a nice tub if you take baths. Honestly we got in late and checked in, went up to our room, and crashed. Got up the next morning, had some breakfast and left. The room was what we needed. No big complaints.

"Dirty motor inn"
datraveler1, 06 Août 2018

First of all it was disappointing to pull up and see it was nothing more than a motor inn, for what I paid for the room, but I get it, it is summer, and gotta make it while they can. Then getting to the room, which smelled like armpits, and had trash on the floor, and seeing all it had was a tiny whiny wall inserted A/C. I settled in for more 3 day stay. The other Best Western in Hill City was booked, so I just had to deal with it. We went to check out the pool and hot tub, and the hot tub was so heavily chlorinated it was burning my eyes just sitting in it. So that was a bust. Then my son had a bad nose bleed that night and made kind of a mess of the sink area, and his sheets. I tried to clean it up some, but needed cleaning products, but then found the next day they did not even try to clean it the rest of the way. This place was very disappointing, and we will not be back.

"fun times in the black hills"
Veann J, 04 Août 2018

From the outside this just looks like a decent size ok motel but our very large room and great customer service made this a great place as our base to explore the area. We had a large suite with two separate bedrooms and it was perfect for traveling with teenage boys. We were very comfortable in our room when we were there. Breakfast was good-the staff were always on top of restocking. The pool and hot tub were very nice. The best thing was the very friendly employees. I saw them going out of their way for several guests. Seemed very helpful about helping people plan their days with all the fun sites to see in the area. Would definitely stay again. The front bedroom did get a lot of motorcycle noise but not terrible. I was in the back bedroom and couldn't hear it.

"Great Location"
k_milner, 03 Août 2018

Rooms are clean. Great breakfast with lots of options. Restaurant isn't on site just down the hill and food was great! We didn't get the rooms we requested. When we checked out the lady at the front desk was kind enough to call ahead to our next Best Western destination and confirm our requests. Thank you!!!

"Yearly Motorcycle Trip"
Scott R, 29 Juillet 2018

Clean room, no noise, close to the area we wanted to visit. Staff let us check in early even after suffering a power outage and the computers being down. Very friendly welcomig personnel. Answered questions when we had them.

"Worst experience"
Jamie D, 25 Juillet 2018

We had the maintence staff barge into our room, even after telling him the room was occupied. The fire alarm went off at 4:30 in the morning. When we brought these issuers up with the front desk no one cared or did anything to accommodate us. Highly unprofessional. They said they would call to discuss it and never have.

"Custer SD hotel experience"
tgeissel, 24 Juillet 2018

Found the hotel easily and were very satisfied with the room options and amenities. Room was clean. Furnishings were dated, but everything was operable and comfortable. There was extra in-room seating, very much appreciated as 4 people used this room. Pool was inviting, restaurants close by, and the grandchildren enjoyed the miniature golf course across the roadway. This hotel is right on the highway, but did not notice any excessive noise.

"Need to improved ASAP"
Kathy I, 23 Juillet 2018

2 stars because of the friendly staff and good location. For the other hand, although it doesn't appear in the search as a motel but it is. It was pretty full so I think this review has to be considered to have a way better improvement! My family and I went for two nights and three days, when we arrived it wasn't what we expected, the photos in their site showed it different, we were expecting a hotel. Guest and other people were drinking and partying in the balconies (we even questioned to cancel and go look another Hotel) and at night even at the parking lot. Good thing we couldn't hear all the noise inside our rooms (we were in the second level). Next morning we have solo cups with unfinished alcohol in the side of the open hallway (balcony). The rooms are decent size, the bathroom it's small. Overall the rooms seemed clean but the smell when we opened the door was disgusting!! It smell old and cheap! We had to go buy Lysol the day we arrived because we couldn't stand the smell and we sprayed Lysol everywhere and let it sit!! So THAT needs to be taken care off! The cleanness of the bathroom is very basic, the bathtub could need more and the fixtures, the drainage ring of the sink too, I could see a brown edge around it. The bed is not so bad but the pillows needs to be more comfortable and more of it than only four and small pillows in a king bed. Please pay attention in the cleaning and smell of the rooms!! We like our rooms to be and smell fresh and clean!! And have a better policy for people partying and alcohol, it supposed to be a family atmosphere “hotel”.

A BIG shoutout to Susan and her amazing staff for providing a fun atmosphere and grand accommodations for our annual ceremonial festivities this weekend during Gold Discovery Days in Custer. Your kind and helpful spirit was greatly appreciated. Your facility was excellent. Thanks again.

"Very comfortable "
Pamela B, 22 Juillet 2018

My husband and I have stayed here several times while visiting Custer and the area. We have always been pleased, but this was the best stay we've had. Our room was spacious with a super comfortable king bed. It also had a great shower. The breakfast was delicious. Loved our stay here!

"Very Pleased with Value and Clean Accommodations!"
Bobbi F, 15 Juillet 2018

We just stayed 6 days at the Best Western Buffalo Ridge Inn and we were very pleased. We booked through Priceline for the best prices. It was a 2.5 star Express Deal. The room was cleaned daily and everyone who worked there was more than happy to help. The full hot breakfast was amazing with lots of choices. They even changed it up a couple of days. The indoor was very clean and had great hours. The hot tub was older and only for 2 people, but it worked well. The room had plenty of room. The bedding was comfortable and the temperature of the room was perfect. The only thing I didn't like was that the bathroom door didn't swing open all of the way because it hit the shower and the bathroom sink was too wide for the room. Those were probably both design errors. Just don't try to squeeze past someone who is using the sink unless you are itty bitty. We would definitely stay there again!

"Property was nice, front desk (Winzer) was not."
ryan1945, 13 Juillet 2018

We arrived late, had been at Mount Rushmore and really had a great time. Since we had reservations I wasn't worried about the time. When Winzer checked us in my Discover Card App alerted me to what he was charging my card. I immediately asked him why it was more than $20 per room more than my reservations indicated it should be. First he said it was the taxes and I told him the reservations amount included the taxes. Then he said it was an extra charge because I booked through a 3rd party and I told him that I booked through the Best Western website. Then he said it was extra they add on in case I do any damage in the room and I replied that was a bunch of BS. He then suggested that I speak to the manager in the morning. So he managed to put a damper on my great day. I did talk to the manager the following day and she took care of the problem and said she would do some retraining with Winzer.

"Great time in Custer"
roseleex4, 13 Juillet 2018

Clean room, nice staff, comfy bed. Just wish they had a window that opened. The hotel is located in a great location and we stayed for 2 nights. The town has restaurants and some fun shops. Near Mt. Rushmore and the Bad Lands

"Best stay ever"
roadtrip20182018, 05 Juillet 2018

Met by Winzer ( I think his name). Super super kind. Accommodating with getting us a room the day before we were due to check in. Sue, the manager, was equally as nice. The ladies working the breakfast were kind and worked hard. Breakfast was great! Everything you could ask for except having it served to you in bed! Great location. Pool great! Our housekeeper (it was a guy) was so kind and helpful. Wish they could all be as good as this hotel. Oh and the flowers in front of the rooms were so pretty ! Nice touch. Can't say enough about how nice the staff was!!

"Nice hotel"
jdlakeshore, 05 Juillet 2018

We stayed here one night on our way through South Dakota. It's close Custer State Park. We had an enjoyable stay. Our room was clean and the bed was comfortable. Our check in and check out went smoothly. Breakfast was good.

"Breakfast and coffee was the highlight"
Amanda F, 27 Juin 2018

We stayed here during a very rainy period. Having to walk outside to get to the breakfast in the lobby wasn't fun with small children in the rain. The rooms were spacious, but the carpet smelled of urine and the rooms were quite dark. The beds were not comfortable and the swimming pool, while large, was quite chilly for recreational use. The hot breakfast in the morning was stellar! The coffee was delicious and the staff was so very friendly! They even looked for an extra coupon book for us as we were traveling in a large group and needed another booklet. If the beds were more comfortable and pool warm, I would have given the hotel a higher rating.

"Not to bad! Average Hotel"
Markus2121, 25 Juin 2018

We stayed here two nights on our visit to Mt. Rushmore and Crazy Horse. Was a little concerned with the Window units in the room, but I guess it doesn't get really hot there. The pool area was alright nothing special. Rooms were clean but the bathroom was small. Our family of five barely fit in the room. The breakfast was not all that special. just normal hotel breakfast food. The price was comparable to the area. The cabins across the street in the woods look more fun thou.

"3.5 if I could"
ExitNo9, 18 Juin 2018

We stayed at 2 other hotels prior to this one during our trip— Econo Lodge and another Best Western. Buffalo Ridge wasn't a horrible stay. The room is decent and it's clean. The breakfast is wonderful and didn't disappoint. This room had no fridge or microwave. It wasn't fully stocked when we arrived (room fits 4 people, but there weren't enough towels for 4). Also, in comparison to the other Best Western, this room didn't have had much to offer. We stayed 2 nights and the housekeeper fully stocked our towels the 2nd night. In comparison to our Econo Lodge room, this room was only a tad better and more expensive. It met our needs for a short stay, but I probably won't stay at this particular location if I were to go back to this area. Furthermore, the check in took so long. When I arrived, no one was at the counter. I rang the bell 3 times over almost a 10 minute wait. Another woman walked in behind me and said she had been calling but no one picked up. She tried calling while we were waiting in the lobby to see if someone would show up to pick up the phone— no one did. When the front desk person finally showed up and checked us in, both our keys didn't work for our room and I had to go back to the office and wait another 5 minutes— I know these aren't necessarily long waits, but it was late in the evening, I had a 14 & 15 year old with me, and we were exhausted. The key cards failed to work again on our check out day after breakfast. It was just inconvenient. In no way am I saying this is a bad hotel. The people are kind and the rooms are fine. Our particular experience just didn't top my list of hotel stays. Also, everything closes early in Custer on Saturdays. We didn't realize this and ended up having to eat DQ for dinner because every place closed by 9pm or earlier. We had gone out all day and came back into town realizing everything was closing. Keep that in mind if you're staying in Custer on Saturdays.

"STAY HERE!!!!"

The staff was wonderful. Everyone helped you from check in to check out. I couldn't find the room number and the lady cleaning a room helped me. This is a dated looking hotel, however, the cleaning crew is exceptional. You could tell they take pride in the place. My family raved about how clean everything smelled and looked. The rooms could use updating but it was super, duper clean.

"Had potential but fell short."
Midori C, 10 Juin 2018

Staff was really helpful and friendly. But the room fell short. My room was never entirely cleaned. The first day my bed wasn't made, and the next day my bathroom wasn't touched except to replace towels. Further, I had to climb up on my bathroom counter to change my A/C settings. And the unit said that the filter needed to be changed. Location was great, very convenient to all. WiFi was lightning fast!

"Nice base of operations"
grampa2000, 07 Juin 2018

I visited the Black Hills / Mt. Rushmore area for the first time. Each day I visited the sights & was able to return to this conveniently located property to relax & rest. Sights, restaurants, gas stations & groceries were conveniently located within Custer or within a short drive from the property. I enjoyed my stay & the staff were very friendly and helpful during my stay. Good Job!

"Custer in May 2018"
andreabottolfson, 06 Juin 2018

Great room price, excellent staff and unexpectedly very good breakfast. We usually don't eat at the hotels as the food is for a lack of a better word fake food. Best Westerns breakfast tasted more home made than prepared box food. We ate there almost every morning during our 5 day stay.

"A good value motel in Custer."
Elise L, 05 Juin 2018

I stayed here with my 3 sisters. First, the free breakfast was great. The people who worked in the breakfast area were so efficient and helpful. They made sure we had everything we wanted and were quick to take our plates when we finished. Cindy and Zena were 2 staff members I observed working diligently to please. Susan, at the front desk was especially helpful and patient. In our room, the door to the closet was broken and the toilet seat needed to be tightened. We left a note for the cleaning staff and the toilet seat was fixed. One disappointment was the spa wasn't working. The pool was in working order. It is not a luxurious motel, but it is a good place with a good price along with a hard-working staff.

"Good Hotel"
laurapE2167OW, 03 Juin 2018

Good place to stay. Hotel staff were very friendly and helpful, hot breakfast every morning was good. Clean comfortable rooms. Is in good location to all the attractions around with not to much driving.

"Far exceeded expectations!"
Kathy Q, 30 Mai 2018

I must say, this place ROCKS their continental breakfast!!! Their coffee is the BOMB better than Starbucks in my opinion. If you ever come to Custer SD, definitely stay here you will not be disapointed. Their service was extremely friendly and prompt! I just cant say enough positive about their Coffee, Breakfast and excellent service!

"Black Hills trip"
walkerla572, 29 Mai 2018

The front desk was very friendly, I had to change my arrival day and they helped me do this without any problems. Room was clean and bed and pillows were very comfortable. I would say here again. The price was great for this time of year.

"Nice, clean and quiet"
Sharon C, 27 Mai 2018

For a more budget hotel, this was nice, clean and quiet. They had a nice breakfast and friendly staff. Only complaint was there was not a real bedspread/comforter and it was an unusually cold and wet weekend. The second night there, we took the sheet wrapped blanket thingy off the second bed to add to ours. An extra blanket in the closet would have been nice.

"They put the "Best" Best Western"
Theinsuranceagent, 25 Mai 2018

From the time we were greeted by Susan at the front desk to the nice clean rooms, this is the place to stay in Custer, SD. These folk will go out of their way to treat you with kindness and want to make your stay the Best. If you check my past reviews you will notice I like hotels that are upper scale, but in small towns that's impossible to find. You will be pleased to find this gem! Thanks to the staff, the Fort Collins Insurance Agent

"Excellent Customer Service"
Zearing, 20 Mai 2018

This is the best Best Western I have stayed in. Its all about the employees and customer care and service. Couldn't ask for better they were all so great. Its like being with family the way we were treated. They were all marvelous and would give them all employee rewards card if i had enough especiallyi the one lady in the breakfast room. The only disappointing thing about this Best Western is that they are seasonal. They close in October and reopen in the spring. This is sad as i was planning on staying there next year in October.

"Buffalo Ridge Inn, Custer, SD"
Emma H, 20 Mai 2018

Staff was very helpful and friendly. Willing to help! Breakfast items were plentiful with staff ready to assist. Handicap room was adequate and the beds were comfortable. Great location for sightseeing in the area.

"Great Staff, Okay Hotel"
dgccouple, 19 Mai 2018

My wife and I recently spent 2 nights at this hotel. It is very conveniently located near Mt. Rushmore, Jewel and Wind Caves, the Crazy Horse monument, and the awesome Custer State Park (don't miss it if you are in the area). The hotel staff (Alyssa at the front desk), and breakfast ladies (Cindy and Charlotte) were fantastic, all local residents, and gave us not only good food but plenty of good local tips and recommendations. The negatives are that this is an older hotel, but updated, so the rooms are somewhat small by today's standards. Wifi was free, but slow, and this is not a hotel for tall people. The door to the room was only 6'3" high, and I hit my head a couple of times at first until I learned to duck going into and out of the room. The room rates are reasonable, and the location is very convenient. Suggest you book soon if you are planning on being there between Memorial Day and end of September as the hotel staff said they tend to fill up.

"Two nights in Custer"
patriciacB6462GC, 09 Mai 2018

Staff were awesome and very accommodating! The rooms were clean and very comfortable. The staff went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable. Hotel is convenient to Mt Rushmore and Custer State Park!

"Friendly Staff, Well Kept Facility"
Bill C, 24 Octobre 2017

Visited Custer in May of 2017. We had been camping but the weather turned a little ugly and we wound up looking for Motels. We found the Buffalo Ridge Best Western a very pleasant surprise after a less than stellar stay at another motel in a nearby town (which we would NOT go back to). The rates were reasonable, the room clean, and the breakfast excellent.

"Good experience"
Leichtreiter, 09 Octobre 2017

This hotel was recommended by a friend and we weren't disappointed. Comfortable room, good breakfast (included), and the Captain's Table restaurant next door for a decent evening meal. Within walking distance of the town centre. Custer is well placed for trips around the Black Hills (Needles Highway recommended), Mount Rushmore and the Crazy Horse monument.

"If not the worst - I can't recall"
edwarde245, 08 Octobre 2017

As soon as you discover they booked you in the wrong room your demeanor becomes somewhat negative. Once the staff suggests it is out of their hands because you booked your room through the BW corporate website, you become more negative. Once BW corporate reservations / bookings suggest they can't resolve the issue and forwards you to customer service you become more negative. Once you discover CS is closed for the day and you are stuck in this room for the evening you become more negative. Once CS calls you the next day and is rude and unhelpful you become more negative and you check out and go to a different hotel. This room was borderline the worst we've ever stayed. Very, very over priced.

"Good hotel, sham about the bed"
gelpaul6951, 23 Septembre 2017

great location for our road trip but the uncomfortable bed marred our stay. Other than the bed the BW hotel came up to expectations. The area is great for a road trip and seeing many brilliant things. The wildlife loop was especially wonderful and well worth the visit.

"Nice Place "
J-W, 19 Septembre 2017

For the low price we payed, this was a great place for a one night stay. The guy at the front desk was very warm and welcoming. Our room was a king and while small it was is good shape. It is located jus steps away from two good restaurants, which was a bonus and yes breakfast was included.

"Best Western get's a A"
davidyV9527FE, 18 Septembre 2017

I stayed at the best western in Custer SD and it was a fun enjoyable stay with comfy beds great breakfast and excellent service for everything and a nice pool for swimming laps. Let's not forget the hot tub to relax in after a long day.

"Great place to stay"
FMM15, 17 Septembre 2017

We were trying to stay in the Custer area but almost all places were booked, however, at the last minute there were some cancellations & we got 2 rooms here. I cannot say enough about the great, welcoming staff. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was good - we stayed 4 nights so it seemed there was an every other day menu, but it certainly offered enough choices. The only concern some might have is there is not an elevator so if stairs are a concern, it would be best to request first floor. There is a great restaurant right next door plus many things are in walking distance of this place. It is a short distance to many attractions. Would love to stay here again.

"Wild West tamed"
H6373GEpatriciaf, 17 Septembre 2017

We enjoyed our visit to Custer SD Right in the center of all those wonderful Monuments and So much to do. We saw a show, played miniture golf and took a swim in there pool. Was a wonderful long weekend.

"Wonderful staff"
donnellea, 15 Septembre 2017

The staff was very helpful. We enjoyed our stay in Custer. It was central to all of the National Parks, historic sites, and towns we wanted to visit. The hotel had maps and aided us in our trip. Unfortunately, we are not going to stay in Best Western Hotels anymore because of a problem that we had in the Best Western Fort Collins Kiva Inn. Off to Choice Hotels.

"Prepare to be welcomed"
Patricia S, 13 Septembre 2017

Very congenial staff, especially the Front Desk clerk, Winzer. Clean and comfortable room. Good place to stay with our dog, as there are lots of grassy areas to walk him. Excellent breakfast options. Very good location to access tourist sites. Plenty of restaurants to choose from in town, including two adjacent to the hotel.

"Best Western Deadwood, South Dakota great!"
jmadgett1, 12 Septembre 2017

Amanda at reception was friendly, cheerful and always went out of her way to help us. Large clean room. Great breakfast. Been to Best Western's from Cobourg, Ontario Canada and all across the north western USA. This is one of the best!

"Pleasant experience"
tony1233, 07 Septembre 2017

We checked into this hotel for four nights. Everyone, from the front desk staff to the housekeepers, were very nice and friendly. The hotel itself is an older property. Two levels with an outside corridor. The place is very clean, and everything worked well. We got smoke from the Montana fires, and that was the only negative comment I can make, and that had nothing to do with the hotel. I would stay there again.

"Overnight"
fleischerjc, 06 Septembre 2017

Solid hotel. Clean and well keep hotel. Breakfast was standard for Best Western: eggs, sausage, assorted pastries, etc. Close to many attractions: Mount Rushmore, Crazy Horse, Jewel Cave, Wind Cave NP. Restaurant in front was good. Pool was clean.

"Nice and clean"
Ann M, 06 Septembre 2017

It is in a good location with a restaurant in walking distance from your room. We stayed here one night... the beds were comfy, the room was clean and they had a very good free breakfast. A good cup of coffee too!

"A Good Stay"
devongirlie67, 30 Août 2017

We stayed for two nights. The guy who checked us in was very friendly and chatty. We had two rooms next to each other as requested, and on the ground floor which meant we could park outside our rooms. The rooms were quite big and the beds were comfy and freshly made for us each morning. The bathroom was clean and tidy and the shower was good and hot. We slept well, and the rooms were quite quiet. Breakfast was included and there was plenty of choice. The food was good. There was free WiFi in the rooms and it worked. The only annoying thing about our stay was that we were looking forward to using the hot tub and pool, but the hot tub was out of use, and the pool, which we were told was heated, was actually freezing. We got in up to our knees and then straight back out again.

"Best Western always"
213tonyn, 28 Août 2017

We always have had great rooms, met wonderful people and have Not had regrets staying at Best Western. Everyone has been unique in their own way and we love the ones with restaurants attached to the Hotel!! Two memorable ones were, Sioux Falls SD and Trois Riviers Quebec, both great spots!!

"Very Nice"
Z1311RJgaryk, 27 Août 2017

The rooms are clean, The staff provided excellent service The breakfast was excellent. The pool and hot tub area was clean and inviting. We would stay there again and will recommend to friends and family.

"Great Hotel"
patriciaaI9511YK, 27 Août 2017

This hotel was excellent. Room was clean and comfortable. Was in walking distance to restaurants. Lobby and breakfast area were clean and inviting. A large selection of food was available for breakfast. Pool and hot tub was clean and extremely enjoyable. Definitely would stay there again..

"Scenic and Easy Ride to Mount Rushmore and Custer State Park"
Angela S, 27 Août 2017

The staff at Best Western Buffalo Ridge Inn was warm and friendly. The property is clean and offers an outdoor patio area where we enjoyed conversing while the sun went down. Our room was comfortable and we were able to park right in front of it. The free breakfast offers something for everyone and there are several restaurants within easy walking distance of this property. It's a scenic and easy ride to Mount Rushmore and Custer State Park and we would definitely stay here again if visiting the area.

"I'm impressed!"
pastorfrog, 22 Août 2017

Again, I want to express my sincere thanks for the staff at the Custer Best Western. You can be proud of your establishment and the staff that oversees it. Excellent job all around! You made my stay (after a long trip) very enjoyable.

"Great Front desk personnel, Rooms ok"
MCPOUSNRET, 19 Août 2017

Booked this hotel early as my wife and I wished to see some sights on our Bucket list. Retire Army gentleman check us in (I am Retired Navy) and gave us a good brief on the area. Told us the it was a "Must See" at Mt Rushmore's Illumination ceremony. He was right!, Room was OK as a staging point....not realyy anything else.

"Service exceptional but room just okay"
emholly, 16 Août 2017

Front desk and cleaning staff exceptional but room was small and overpriced. No frig or microwave in room and beds were so-so. Indoor pool but whirlpool out of order. Good access to Black Hills attractions - 15 minutes to Jewel Cave, 30 minutes to Wind Cave. Easy access to restaurants and downtown. Plenty of other choices in the area for a better price.

"Basically good service"
Barbicu715, 15 Août 2017

Staff is friendly from the front desk to the breakfast staff. Rooms are basic and clean. Good parking easy access to cars and it's about 4 blocks to downtown. We spent 3 nights with grandchildren and a much quieter location with easy access to the park, jewel cave.

"Great location for seeing the sights"
Barb B, 14 Août 2017

We were in Custer for sightseeing. The ,location was great for visiting Custer State Park, Mount Rushmore, and Crazy Horse. The staff were very helpful. The area affords great sightseeing and there were plenty of restaurants nearby. A great hotel for Custer.

"Very nice hotel for Black Hills"
842judib, 14 Août 2017

This hotel was a great value for the price. It is centrally located on the edge of Custer with quick access to Black Hills destinations. The staff was very friendly! The breakfast was typical (but had outdoor seating available) but the breakfast staff were pleasant and helpful. Nice to have a coffee machine!

"Best Western Buffalo Ridge Inn in Custer, SD"
667lennyp, 14 Août 2017

This hotel was in a good central location for our family road trip to South Dakota. It was within a reasonable drive to area attractions such as Mount Rushmore, Bear Country, Reptile Gardens, Custer State Park wildlife loop, and the Wind Cave in Hot Springs. The morning breakfast buffet included in the room stay was a plus. It was filling and allowed us to quickly start our day's activity. The kids enjoyed the pool in the evening as we sat in the hot tub to unwind from the day. Only wished the hot tub was bigger as it seated maybe 4 people - so you have to wait if it's being used. Otherwise overall good experience with this hotel in a smaller, quieter town.

"The best Best Western"
Barbara W, 02 Août 2017

Wonderful staff! Clean rooms. Great breakfast! Ojay was very courteous and professional and helpful. Bridget and Sara in the breakfast room could not do enough for us and we're very friendly. Would definitely stay here again.

"Kind Staff Helped with Event-ful Vacation"
Robert W, 01 Août 2017

My wife took a fall in the parking lot, so we had to end our stay early. The staff was very helpful in making reservation changes at other hotels. Also, the staff let us check in early upon arrival as my spouse needed to rest. The staff helped with any small problems we had. The main quibble was the breakfast. Decaf coffee ran out fast, there were very few fresh fruit options, and baked goods were store bought, not fresh. The room upgrade with Best Western points was terrific as well.

"One night family "
Mary H, 01 Août 2017

Was very good, only was too cold when first went in room. Also the breakfast was very nice. We could eat untill filled up for the day (at least until lunch . Friendly staff.!!!and atmosphere for eating breakfast

"Friendly staff"
Joekathy45, 29 Juillet 2017

Conveniently located between Mount Rushmore and Wind Cave National Park, and close to Jewel Cave. This is an older property and was more of a motel, than hotel. The hotel staff were helpful and friendly. The only drawback was the property was worn looking and there were no elevators for 2nd floor rooms (a problem with a large suitcase).

"Great to work with!"
Kari G, 29 Juillet 2017

The Best Western in Custer is very accommodating and easy to work with! Check them out on your next visit to the Black Hills, conveniently located to many famous sights and very friendly! The rally isn't far away and a great scenic drive!

"Just OK"
616debbier, 27 Juillet 2017

This hotel needs a room update. The food is good and the service staff were all smiles but the hotel desk staff well they seemed like they wanted to be somewhere else. We all have days like that. Occasionally when I asked a question over the three days, I felt like I wasn't a bother, the rest.... The pool area is nice and a nice outside eating area but the rooms are dated and there is no lobby area to sit in .

"Never Again..."
Ksguy77, 27 Juillet 2017

AC in the room did not work, the hot tub was dirty, and the indoor pool was ice cold. The scenery was beautiful. Staff brought us a fan that barely worked. Had to open window in order to cool room off.

"Trip to Rushmore"
Retiredexplorer69, 27 Juillet 2017

Excellent hotel for the cost. Very clean and well maintained for an older hotel. Employees are very welcoming and service was great. Morning breakfast was very good and staff were very friendly. I would recommend to anyone traveling in that area.

"Omelets by the Chuck wagon"
ronaldg80, 27 Juillet 2017

Not many hotels that offer Omelets cooked to order by the chuck wagon with coffee from tin cups. This is Wyoming at its best. The hotel is clean and updated. The staff is very friendly. A motorcycle wash out back is an added bonus. I will go out of my way to stay at this hotel again.

"Check in lazy, everything else was good"
Pens4821, 26 Juillet 2017

The hotel is conveniently located. Close to downtown Custer where there are many options for food. Less than a half hour to Mt Rushmore. I'd recommend taking more time and going up the Needles Highway to Mt Rushmore (we did Iron Mountain Road too, but liked Needles much more). Also close to Wildlife Loop Road. I was disappointed with check in. There were two agents. I had a travel card that I handed to the lady, and she asked the guy what to do. He just said its applied already without even going to her computer. I said it can't be. He said it is. I told him a couple more times it wasn't, he just kept saying it was. I knew for a fact it was not as I received it after I made the reservation and never added it online or called. He didn't even take the card, so I'm assuming he didn't know what to do. Well, just say that. I would've been much more accepting if he just said he didn't know what to do with it. I wasn't going to argue, so I just dropped it. Very bad customer service on his part though. Bad first impression but everything else was good. Book early to get a great rate (we booked about 6 months in advance and paid under $75/night). We had two rooms next door to each other. Both were clean and comfortable. We were more than pleased with the rooms. We didn't have much time in the room, just showered and slept for the most part, but no issues. We also enjoyed the breakfast. Eggs, meat, waffles, biscuits and gravy, and then the normal continental breakfast fare. The attendants at breakfast were friendly and did a great job. There was a indoor pool that we didn't even get a chance to look at because we were so busy. When I checked out I asked Susan about the travel card. She took care of it for me in no time. Completely different than check in. She was so friendly and accommodating. So the first impression was horrible, but the last one was amazing. I was really displeased with the check in, but don't want to bash the place over one person. Everyone else we encountered was friendly. It wasn't that he was mean, he just didn't really seem interested in what I had to say. Everything else was perfect, so I'm still giving it a very good rating. If we were ever back in the area, we would surely stay here again, and would recommend it to others.

"Exceptionally nice"
Mike S, 20 Juillet 2017

This stay was great from beginning to end, rooms great, breakfast great pool was nice would definitely stay here again. Bridget was great in the breakfast area keeping the food filled and great interaction with the people.

"Would stay here again"
Rhiannon N, 18 Juillet 2017

The town of Custer is a great choice for lodging, very quaint and close to many other attractions we visited while on vacation. The room we had here was wonderful. 2nd floor, 2 beds and a pull out couch. Comfortable. Bathroom was clean. A lot of space for our family of 5. The parking lot does fill up quickly and there is no elevator, though this was not a deal breaker for us. We didn't mind. Would stay here again.

"enjoyable stay"
A5836OSjohnc, 14 Juillet 2017

Family had booked into a local lodge facility that offered three rooms with multiple beds and kitchen/dining but like many older lodges there wasn't any handicap accessible support that I needed. Peak of tourist season in a tourist town and I didn't expect to find an option but I was fortunate that this hotel had a handicap room for the nights I needed. Breakfast buffet options were good and varied over the days. Breakfast support staff was friendly and helpful keeping serving containers refreshed and counters/tables cleaned off. Internet was very good speed. There was a big storm the last night I was there and a power fluctuation knocked off internet and TV. It took several hours to get everything fully restored because the night staff had to call a tech center for assistance and hotel was at the mercy of the provider service. This would be my first choice for a future visit to Custer.

"Great place to stay in Custer "
Andrea S, 14 Juillet 2017

We decided at the last minute to include Custer State park in our vacation plans. We found the motel to be close to so many different attractions, so convenient. The hotel staff was friendly and so helpful. The beds were comfortable and even though we are right off the main road you can not hear the traffic. I will recommend this motel without hesitation.

"Great Staff, Great Location, Nice Breakfast"
MaryTravler, 14 Juillet 2017

This hotel is a 2 level hotel with no elevator, but very nice. The rooms have everything one might need, with free wi-fi and comp breakfast. The staff is outstanding. Mt Rushmore and the wildlife loop is very near. The little town of Custer is cute.

"Nice hotel in Custer, S.D."
robhilde, 13 Juillet 2017

Recently spent 4 nights at this hotel while visiting the area. Rooms were very clean, it was quiet, enhanced continental breakfast with eggs, sausage or bacon, biscuits & gravy, the staff was very friendly. The only thing we didn't care for was the layout of the bathroom, small and in our room the bathroom door only opened about halfway before it hit the tub wall. Hotel is located approx. 1/2 mile from the main area of Custer, but an easy walk. Easy drive from here to Mt. Rushmore, Jewel Cave, Wind Cave and Custer State Park. Would recommend staying here.

"Great Motel"
Ronald H, 11 Juillet 2017

This is a great place to stay. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The staff is terrific. Winzer, who checked us in, was friendly and suggested things for us to do in the area. Cindy and Rene who run the breakfast could not have been better. Not only did the replenish the food constantly but they took time to go to the tables and talk to the people. I would stay here again.

"Don't stay in room 305"
CamasGary, 09 Juillet 2017

Poor room layout -bathroom door opens out, into the small sink area. So a person exiting the bathroom hits the person standing in front of the sink. I stayed in room 305…. I don't recommend you stay there. AC is over the bed and is Loud and runs ALL day and night. Lowering the temp. doesn't help. I contacted the Maintenance person who actually did fix the loose toilet, the bad electrical plug above the sink, and the wobbly table that had to be shimmed with a pad of paper. But he couldn't fix the AC. The good side: Free Breakfast, Bed was firm and good, TV was decent size and they provided a TV channel list. Friendly Staff. Good Housekeepers. Next time we are in town, we'll try one of their competitors.

"Great place to stay for Black Hills adventure"
Ryan N, 08 Juillet 2017

This is a perfect place to stay. Close to everything. About 20 minutes to Mt Rushmore over memorial day weekend. Staff amazingly friendly and full of suggestions for adventuring. Clean rooms. Newly refinished large heated pool area, including sauna. Kids loved it! Full complimentary warm breakfast every morning located in lobby. Get there early for breakfast. It gets super crowded and tables are a premium. We ran out of time before running out of things to do. Will be back to the Hills for a longer stay and will make sure to stay here again

"Mount Rushmore-Crazy Horse"
CheleyCarpenter, 05 Juillet 2017

The room was very clean, the staff was very helpful ( the check-in person was even from close to my home town ). We were located real close to Crazy Horse and very near to Mount Rushmore. We were given very good advice on things in the area to visit.

"Clean stay and great breakfast"
Jeff B, 05 Juillet 2017

This hotel was the best stay of our entire trip. I was not afraid to let me 1-year-old crawl on the floor. The room was not cramped and had plenty of space for my wife, kids, our pack-and-play, and myself. The room did not smell of smoke covered by a deodorant spray as so many of the other hotels we stayed in did. Finally, the pool was very nice and relaxing; a great way to end the day for me and my kids during a road trip.

"Enjoyable"
88chadg, 03 Juillet 2017

We drove to this beautiful area for a nights stay before we visited Mount Rushmore for the first time. The Hotel was great. We had a very nice room with a very good breakfast. We enjoyed walking near the Hotel because the weather was great and the scenery beautiful. Very pleasant memory.

"Best Western Stay"
217kimberleyr, 02 Juillet 2017

We thoroughly enjoy our stay at the Best Western in Custer South Dakota. Everyone was extremely helpful and friendly! If we ever come again, we will definitely stay here. The front desk help was wonderful. The breakfast was superior and attendants were sure to make sure we had everything we needed!

"Great visit"
Gerald K, 02 Juillet 2017

Had a great experience. The rooms were clean and the staff was wonderful. The breakfast was hot and kept fresh. Walking distance to downtown Custer and plenty of things to do here. Would definitely recommend this hotel.

"Older style motel"
johncb7, 29 Juin 2017

This was not one of the better Best Western motels we have used on our current tour. It is an older style motel with quite small and dated rooms. Staff were friendly and parking adequate. Breakfast was better than average and the breakfast area of a reasonable. Size.

"Excellent Experience"
Christy C, 29 Juin 2017

We stayed here to be conveniently located for both Mount Rushmore and Wind Cave National Park. At check in, the weather had caused some difficulties with the computer, but the gentlemen at the front desk made sure that we were checked in without any delay. Once we were in our room, we found out that the television would only turn on, but nothing else. One call to the front desk for help and one of the men working the desk came right up and fixed it (it wasn't anything they could help-had to do with the box that gets the cable/satellite signal). No problems after that. Everyone we encountered was very helpful. The room was large and comfortable. The beds and pillows were great-everyone slept well. Nice bathroom with full sized tub/shower. Good ventilation-no steamy mess. Nice breakfast available with the usual options, but very clean and well presented. Check out was simple and pleasant. I would certainly stay here again.

"Didnt give us the room we reserved - waiting for resolution - will update"
jenzy81, 27 Juin 2017

We made a reservation last week. Arrived tonight and walk into the room that was supposed to be two queens with a sofa bed and instead it is only two queens. Try to call front desk and phone doesn't work. Just keeps beeping. Try phoning front desk on our cell and they don't answer. Walk back to front desk and they say there are only two queen rooms left, none left with sofa bed. They took our credit card and reserved a room but they aren't honoring it and when we ask what the new price will be if we stay they say the rate is currently the same amount for the smaller room. We aren't the dramatic type to argue or fight. And it's 11 pm after a long drive so we don't feel like taking all our bags back down the stairs, parking up and driving to a new hotel. But we will give the hotel a chance tomorrow to make this right with a price adjustment. But currently I would 100% recommend not to book here since the treat reservations as inconsequential and they seem to just give your room away even though they hold your credit card. I will include details about the hotel itself after this booking issue is resolved. Definitely disappointed at this point.

Our experience with Best Western has always been positive. We enjoy the clean rooms and the quiet atmosphere. The staff were very accommodating and personable. Also, the breakfast selection had everything that I and my wife enjoy.

"Loved it!!"

Clean place fantastic beds. Would to stay here again. We arrived late and had a fast check in and easy check out. The beds were fantastic. He breakfast was the best I have had at a bestwestern yet. Loved it.

"We got a room, with people already in it!"
Rachel S, 21 Juin 2017

I booked 2 rooms, one for me, and one fr my son and his children. When my son opened the door to his room, he was surprised to find it already occupied. after another trip to the front desk with exhausted children, we were told it was the fault of THE OTHER MANAGER. The desk man blustered his way into assigning another room. Rooms are adequate (think Soviet era luxury). Buffet was obligatory powdered eggs and gel gravy.

"Great location for Mount Rushmore"
Martha A, 20 Juin 2017

We stayed on our way to Mount Rushmore and the location was great. Perfect if you don't want the tourist traps of Keystone and price much better. Very clean, good breakfast. Rooms a little dated but overall very clean and comfortable. Would highly recommend.

"Great little Best Western"
113lucillec, 20 Juin 2017

The room was very comfortable and the staff was amazing. Breakfast was very good with a very attentive wait staff. The only problem I had was that there was an old 1980's type odor of an inexpensive motel in the room. Otherwise, I would definitely stay again as it is a great value for the money.

"Good value"
patriciaaO8222CF, 16 Juin 2017

The staff was friendly and helpful, i felt welcome! The hotel is old and perhaps dated looking outside, but the rooms were clean and very satisfactory. The breakfast more than met my expectations. Just one night, but a wonderful experience

"Reasonable hotel near Mount Rushmore"
987jeank, 15 Juin 2017

The room was clean, and the bed comfortable, even with mushy pillows. The hotel is a little older, but the breakfast was decent, and having a pool and hot tub was a nice bonus. It is located within 30 minutes of local attractions.

"Great Hotel"
Deb O, 15 Juin 2017

We enjoyed our stay here. Our room was right next to swimming pool, which the kids enjoyed. Staff was awesome, providing everything we needed! Breakfast was hot and had good selection. Hotel was within walking distance to town shops.

"Enjoyable Stay"
Evanb198, 14 Juin 2017

We were on a business trip in Custer, SD for a wedding and I've stayed at Best Western's before so I was happy to find this one too. I find the value is always good, nice place to stay, good amenities, and good rooms for the price. This one met the same quality and expectations I've come to have from staying at Best Western's and would recommend if you are in town!

"WOW!!! This is hospitality at it's best!!!"
_we_educate, 13 Juin 2017

It was a dark and stormy night and we had to find a place to stop for the night. We called several hotels in the area and some were sold out and others were pricey. We found the Best Western and it was a blessing. Ruth greeted us at the counter and made us not only feel welcome but really truly cherished and cared for. Her warm reception and request for us to relax and have a good night rest hit home. The rooms were clean and well kept up. As the storm continued to rage around us, we were glad we were here in this place. In the morning, I wanted to comment to the manager about their treasure in Ruth to find out the the Manager Susan was helping in the breakfast area for the large crowd that was there. Breakfast was delicious and even had fresh blueberries for my oatmeal!!! Another gem. And they were not finished yet... Ojay at the counter got us on our way with explicit directions to our next adventure. He was friendly and helpful and I am so glad that we found this oasis at the end of our day. Thank you!!!

"friendly staff"
bonnief820, 12 Juin 2017

location is very good to see all the Black Hills area, clean and very friendly and knowledgeable staff. Close to mount Rushmore and Crazy Horse and Custer state park, excellent drives and scenery near. Would stay here again and recommend it to friends.

"Comfortable place to stay"
Laura O, 06 Juin 2017

We enjoyed our stay here and wouldn't hesitate to stay again in the future. The beds were only somewhat comfy and we woke up with shoulder and back aches but are hotel beds every comfortable? They were more comfortable then most. The place was mostly thoroughly cleaned (except the bathroom floor) and the housekeeping staff always said hi and were friendly. The front desk staff was always friendly too. And their continental breakfast was better than just the fruit and pastries that you get at most places that provide breakfast. Also, we requested a very specific room and received it. They truly care about making their guests happy.

"Great Staff, Hotel, and Rate!"
910kathrynv, 06 Juin 2017

Staff was friendly and accommodating. I even saw a staff member give a bag of Gatorade and apples to a family with two small children "for their travels" that afternoon :)Comfortable, clean rooms and an AMAZING continental breakfast! Best rate in Custer and nothing feels like it's a budget hotel :)

"Vermonters Enjoyed South Dakota"
charlesrH5637GB, 05 Juin 2017

Had a great experience at Best Western Buffalo Ridge Inn. Renee, Laura, Bridget and a gal whose name I didn't get greeted us with warm smiles in the morning, Susan behind the desk was a wealth of information and Nerine, our housekeeper was top notch keeping everything sparkling! Would definitely stay there if I'm ever in SD again!

"Good location"
KCARLE, 05 Juin 2017

This was a great central location to visit Mount Rushmore, Custer, the Badlands & Hot Springs. Breakfast had something for everyone. Hotel staff was very pleasant. Beds were okay and better than most. Restaurants in walking distance was nice after a long day of hiking.

"Vacation"
Ron L, 04 Juin 2017

Only issue with this location was bad internet service, it was sporadic everything else good, rooms very clean, breakfast good. Staff friendly, good location for attractions in the area, would stay there again.

"Great place to stay"
terrywI7921JU, 30 Mai 2017

For a older hotel, it was a great place to stay. The staff was great, room was clean and comfortable, and the breakfast was good. Overall, it was a great place to stay in Custer. Close to area attractions. I would stay here again!

"Breakfast and Staff make this hotel the best!"
Casper113, 26 Mai 2017

We stopped in after visiting mount rushmore. Great location. Front desk staff very friendly; went out of their way to freeze our bottles of water as no freeze compartment in the room refrigerator. Suggested restaurants close by. Bridget makes breakfast wonderful, her personality shines through. Interacting with everyone and making sure everything was fresh/hot, good food as well as making sure you had a pleasant stay. Many choices for everyone to enjoy. Nice touch having tables outside for smoking. The room was clean, housekeeping were polite and did a great job. The bathroom was awkward - you had to side step to be able to close the door. Also, there was limited parking and the luggage carts were hard to get through front door, even when using the ramp. Thanks for a great stay!

"Best of the best"
sandravE3210BH, 20 Mai 2017

Great place, good location to Mt Rushmore and Crazy Horse Monument. Staff goes out of their way to insure everything is going well for you both at the hotel and on your trip. Breakfast staffvery personable making your morning start off right. Rooms nice and cleaned when we requested only. We were here for 5 days and didn't need our room cleaned daily. The pool and hot tub were great, not over chlorinated like some others were. Thanks for a great stay.

"Custer city"
johnrQ3746JG, 20 Mai 2017

Been traveling across USA from California to New Jersey stayed in 46 different hotel motels. This was the best on all counts Best breakfast great staff. Location is great near Mt Rushmore Crazy Horse Custer State Park

"Thank you "
Anita B, 18 Mai 2017

Bridget was so very helpful and double checked with us before putting anything away even though due to a sick kid we arrived as the breakfast was shutting down. She is a gem and we appreciated her so much. The room was great too. We will be back if possible!

"Needs some work."
Wisesttraveler, 29 Janvier 2017

This hotel is overpriced. More like a motel. Not up to the Best Western standards. Was a bit disappointed. But, we had a rough day and needed a place to stay. Clean room, no bugs, working bathroom, comfortable. It did the job. The breakfast was great though. Needs to be refurbished ASAP if it wants to keep the Best Western name.

"South Dakota"
Rosebudd56, 29 Septembre 2016

The only thing that I did not like was the fact that they do not have an elevator. The staff was outstanding...the breakfast was very good...The beds were very comfy and the rooms were clean...we stayed 2 days and would stay there again...

"Very Comfortable Stay"
Juan M, 29 Septembre 2016

This hotel was one of the very few that offered military rate and had rooms available. And for the price the room was not bad at all. The staff were very friendly and helpful and breakfast was great. Also the location of the this hotel was very convenient to many of the attractions we had planned to see.

"Needs some updating"
dendonmo, 27 Septembre 2016

We stayed in what I presume was the older part of hotel. We were on 2nd floor with outside entrance. The balcony seemed tilted, but had a overhang for protection, which was good as it was raining. The room was OK, nothing special. The desk chair needed to be upgraded, as the covering on the arms moved. Room could've used a second chair for spouse, instead of always sitting on the bed. Bed was comfortable. I couldn't reach the AC/Heater, as it was over the sink. I'm 5'2", husband was able to reach it though. We went and looked at pool area, it was very clean and not over bearing with clorine smell. I overheard at breakfast the next morning they close Oct 1 for the season. Continental breakfast was good, same basic items as most hotel chains have.

"Very nice place"
DebMcAllen, 27 Septembre 2016

This hotel was very nice and close to Custer National Park, The staff was very caring and friendly. I really liked that they had the option of a suite with two rooms (three queen beds). It was very nice for our family of six.

"Noise"
Anthony H, 26 Septembre 2016

Do not get a ground floor room as noise can occur from room above. Breakfast was very good and staff were very friendly and helpful. Location is on the way out of town but is still ok. Close to Custer State Park.

"Adventure time"
B M, 26 Septembre 2016

I wanted to give it a 4.5 star. The pros was a wonderful breakfast served by Bridget. It is conveniently located to many points of interest. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. It wasn't as expensive as the other ones. Love the hot tub/spa. Thumbs up for having an indoor pool. Con: Would have preferred the pool to be warmer.

"Nice Place To Stay"
barbaragwen270, 24 Septembre 2016

We stayed here for 3 days and were very pleased. The property basically has two sections. One is with outside entrances and is single story, and the other has several floors with inside entrance. Our room was in the building with inside corridors as I do prefer them. The room was large, clean, and nicely done. The beds were great. Some of the best we had on our 30 day vacation out West. The breakfast was in the other part of the building, but it was just a short walk across the parking lot. The people were very pleasant and helpful. This is a good location when in the area. I would definitely recommend this Best Western to anyone. It was the perfect place for a 3 day stay. I read in another review that someone had a problem with parking. The lot is huge, and if you don't want one area for some reason, just move on. We parked right outside our door with no issues.

"Black Hills of South Dakota"
Gene B, 21 Septembre 2016

This hotel was perfect for a a 4-day stay close to Mt. Rushmore in the great beauty of the Black Hills. The room was in great condition and the bedding top notch. The breakfast service was complete and the service was great, All of the personnel at this hotel were helpful and friendly, Recommended for a vacation in one of the most scenic areas in the country.

"Just what we needed after a long day of travel!"
Nancy J, 20 Septembre 2016

Great value. Clean room, comfortable bed. Simple, nice place to lay our heads after a long day seeing the amazing sites. We didn't want a luxurious room that we'd lounge in... so this fit the bill. Everything just right.

"Great value"
188darlenes, 19 Septembre 2016

Stayed 4 nights while visiting Mt. Rushmore, Crazy horse, deadwood etc. Great breakfast, but crowded in breakfast area. We took ours to our room. Pool area looked good, we did not use it. Would recommend.

"My first complaint"
Graham T, 18 Septembre 2016

It is sad that this room had not been checked properly to ensure the cleanse of the room. Contractors use these rooms and their boots will be dirty .. House keeping should test carpets and not just go by the look of them. a simple wipe over with a hand will tell if it is clean or not.

"Great employees"
668nancyr, 18 Septembre 2016

I spent 5 nights and I'm so glad I made the choice to stay here. Not only was it centrally located to places I wanted to stay, all the employees were warm and friendly and concerned that my stay would be pleasant. I especially want to commend the women taking care of breakfast! They were 1st class. When I checked into my room it seemed small since I came from a suite upgrade the night before. But it was prrfect fot a solo traveler and, most impotant, it was very quiet as l had requested.

"Vacation "
Dianne G, 16 Septembre 2016

We spent one night here. We had a family in room next to us that had a barking dog.and they stood outside our door and smoked. The smoke filled the room. We called office they came over. Said they could stop them from smoking but they were a pet friendly hotel and couldn't stop the barking dog. Wth. I guess pets come first. Won't be back!!!

"Clean and comfortable, gracious hosts."
zonie420, 15 Septembre 2016

We stopped by after canceling another lodging that was totally unacceptable. We really did not expect to find a room. We talked with Ojay at the front desk, who provided a comfortable, large room that was spotlessly clean. The price was reasonable and as there is so much to do and see in the Black Hills, we stayed four nights. Breakfast was good to start our days of exploring and we knew when we came back for the evening our room would be spotless. The housekeeping was sensitive to our requests and we didn't lack for a thing. The restaurant, the Cowboy Café, was a great place to have supper. Thanks to Ojay and his staff, we had a truly enjoyable experience.

"Older hotel not remodeled"
Cathy L, 14 Septembre 2016

This motel/hotel has the comfy beds and typical hot breakfast you expect of the chain. It looks scruffier than most and the towels are rough. There are some interior entry rooms but most are old school exterior entrances. We were in the older section. The bathroom was very small - you had to side step to be able to close the door. There is no elevator for this two story property.

"a great stay in custer"
Janet C, 14 Septembre 2016

I would recommend this hotel to anyone going to see Mt Rushmore, Crazy Horse, Custer State Park, the Needles Highway and on and on. the staff is very helpful and you are centrally located for a lot of day trips,,clean rooms, great breakfast, walking distance to a number of restaurants for dinner

"Ok - nice staff - but noisy"
RobertAboutAndAway, 11 Septembre 2016

I had booked in for 2 nights but only stayed for 1 as the room was on the ground floor and noise from the room above and from outside was greater than I was willing to put up with. Staff were friendly and obliging. Not impressed by the breakfast.

"Great place to stay!"
Judith S, 09 Septembre 2016

We made our decision based on the fact that Buffalo Ridge is pet-friendly. However, the office and hospitality staff were so friendly and helpful that we would stay there again based just on that. Thank you for a very enjoyable experience in the Black Hills.

"Outstanding!"
Diannehk, 08 Septembre 2016

After driving 680 mi alone, the BW was my remedy for travel fatigue. I'm not sure how anyone can say their rooms were dirty, or unkept. Was I at a different motel? lol When I called to reserve a room, Ruth was awesome, very helpful. Upon arrival, the young gentleman at the front desk couldn't have been more congenial towards this weary traveler. I stayed 3 nights, each night I returned to a spotless room. I believe it was Rebecca who was the room attendant for at least 2 of the 3 days. She was courteous and helpful. Considering the circumstances for my visit, I'm very grateful. We stayed here in 2011, and I will definitely return on my next trip to Custer. The owners went out of their way to accommodate our large group, each family with their own room needs. Thank you.

"Great Location and Reasonable price"
kkx4, 07 Septembre 2016

This is a great location for touring the Black Hills area. Less than a mile to walk to the center of the downtown to various restaurants and shops; nice large indoor pool and long hours for taking a refreshing break.

"Vacation Traveller"
Michael K, 02 Septembre 2016

A little worn down, but okay for one night. I would go with a more modern facility next time I am in the area. Probably one of the better choices in the area though. So, stay here if it meets your budget. Just don't expect too much.

"Best Western Buffalo Ridge Inn, Custer SD"
Dawn D, 30 Août 2016

Staff went above & beyond to make our stay pleasant. They all gave helpful tips & advice on where to go and what to see while we vacationed in South Dakota. My best advice is to do the Discovery Tours of Mount Rushmore, Crazy Horse, Needles Highway, Custer National Park. It's 100.00 per person but this price also includes a buffet lunch which was one of the best meals we had while staying in Custer. The sights were stunning, all the people we met were very friendly. We can't wait to visit again!!!

"Great Place to stay"
Tammie H, 25 Août 2016

We needed multiple rooms as family was coming from multiple states due to a family death. We arrived at different times and days, and were able to all be together. The staff was friendly and check in was easy. A special Thank you to Sue for her kindness, help and keeping our rooms together. A special Thank you to Cindy for our great breakfasts! She even made waffles for us. Thanks to the cleaning staff for keeping our rooms clean and stocked.

"Dirty run down, substandard"
M Richard M, 23 Août 2016

Staff great, room terrible, sheets stained and dirty, blanket stained, floors dirty and stained, terrible odor in room. Was not given a better, clean room. The hotel needs better quality control for cleaning and the price charged for the value was horrible.

"Far Exceeded Expectations"
Emily S, 23 Août 2016

One of the nicest hotels we've stayed at. We weren't sure how much we'd like it with the door opening directly to the outside. It was fine! It was quiet. The room was clean. The decor was very nice and the bed was comfy. Flat screen HDTV... It was odor-free and everything was in great condition/working order. The young man who checked us in was very pleasant and helpful in recommending good places to eat. The only problem we encountered was the ice machine closest to our room was not working, but there was another one to use.

"Great Place"
82Terry, 23 Août 2016

The rooms were a little small, but comfortable. Good free breakfast. People were very friendly and helpful. The grand kids had fun and it was close to activities in the area. We went to Mt. Rushmore and Chief Crazy Horse's monuments.

"A great friendly place to stay"
tcummings20, 22 Août 2016

Cindy, Sue and Jared were the best to our entire family during the week we stayed. It was a hard week for our family and they made it so easy for us. Always willing to bring more towels and extra blankets for the cold south dakota nights.I give them a big THANK YOU!! Very pleasant and helpful staff.

"Functional and comfortable"
AshAgs, 22 Août 2016

Convenient location to visit Mount Rushmore and Badlands. Rooms are clean . Custer is a small town so you can't go wrong location wise in picking any hotel within Custer. There are other hotel chains in the area that I would look at before booking BW. Overall decent value for money.

"Summer Fun"
neederb, 20 Août 2016

I and my husband took my 15 yr old son and a friend on a trip to see the sights of South Dakota. We stayed at the Best Western in Custer for 3 nights. The first night we had a little difficulty with the description of our room being different on our booking site's page verses what it actually was. The hotel staff was very accommodating by supplying a roll away bed and then upgrading us to a bigger room for the next two nights. The continental breakfast was wonderful. They had hot selections each morning. I can't say enough about how friendly the staff was. They were very friendly and helpful anytime we had questions. Bridget and O jay are two that come to mind. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The hotel was minutes away from the sights we wanted to see. (Mt. Rushmore, Black Hills, Custer State Park etc... We would stay there again.

"Our August 10&11 stay"
Z7266YXjanet, 18 Août 2016

It served the purpose. The housekeeping staff sprayed an air freshener that was overpowering and a bit unpleasant, so check before you sign the registration papers. Bathroom is small. We did sleep well and breakfast was good. Also convenient to Mt. Rushmore, Custer State Park and Crazy Horse.

"A great place to stay and eat breakfast"
Kenneth M, 18 Août 2016

I screwed up and arrive a day before my reservation was made for. That didn't stop Susan, the general manager from getting on the phone and finding me a super local motel to stay at for one night. This BW is very clean and the pool and hot tub were very relaxing. Breakfast was a real treat mostly due to Bridget and her associates. She took great pride in putting on a breakfast that was different each day and very delicious. The motel was crowded and she kept breakfast moving fast and everyone was pleased. They go out of their way to accommodate everyone. You felt like you were staying in their home.

"Gluten-free friendly!"
familytravelagent734, 18 Août 2016

Nice hotel with the usual great Best Western quality. Friendly, efficient staff. They are one of the first hotels that I know of who offers gluten-free options at breakfast. The information was posted in the kitchen area - just need to ask the staff in the morning and they will bring items out right away and with a smile.

"Just passing thru"
Truthfultraveler1, 16 Août 2016

It wasn't the cheapest stay nor the best but it was a place to sleep. Nothing great to say because we checked in fast and went right to sleep. The room was clean and the staff was friendly. What more can you ask for?

"Very Good"
Martha G, 15 Août 2016

Again this hotel was very nice but the employees did not shine like they did at the one we stayed out in Dillion. The hair on the pillow was another reason that I can't give them an Excellent review. This didn't offend us but it would had you had a guess in there that was really picky.

"Friendly Staff"
Bdela, 13 Août 2016

The 2 choice hotels in Custer didn't allow pets so I stopped here. I haven't stayed at a Best Western in probably 20 years. From the moment I walked in the lobby, the two gentlemen working were so nice, friendly, & helpful. They do allow pets for $15 a night. The 2 ladies at breakfast were just as wonderful & they were working so hard. Constantly filling anything that was getting low, washing trays, & instantly cleaning tables for the next person. Housekeeping was nice too. There was no curb between the parking lot & sidewalk which is the greatest thing for people using canes, walkers, wheel chairs, etc. Indoor pool & hot tub. The room was clean & a nice size. I loved that the pictures in the rooms were local. Breakfast was cheese omelets, boiled eggs, bacon, sausage gravy, biscuits, oatmeal bar, fruit, yogurt, cereals, etc. They have a sign that says to ask for gluten or dairy free options if you need them. 1 morning we left before 6am & were able to get breakfast to go. They make up bags with an oatmeal breakfast bar, apple, & water. Restaurant in the parking lot serves dinner. Across the street from mini golf & next door from where they pick you up for the hot air balloon rides. I will stay here again next time I'm in Custer.

"Pleasantly surprised"
Jeff B, 12 Août 2016

We were pleasantly surprised at the comfort of this hotel. We were on a short vacation and really liked the comfort of the room. We stayed on a first floor room which was nice to have the car right out front of the door. Very clean, great internet, fabulous morning breakfast. However the breakfast was over at 9:30 so you have to get up a bit early to get it. Which may not be a problem unless you like to sleep in on vacation. I highly recommend...great spot.

"Family friendly "
tammyjo101, 11 Août 2016

Our trip was wonderful the beds were comfortable and rooms were clean. The front desk staff, cooking staff in morning and cleaning crew were fabulous ! They even accommodate gluten free guests with grab and go snacks, muffins, bagels and silk milk for breakfast. The best

"Breakfast will bring you back."
jerrybeth1, 04 Août 2016

Well kept property. Pretty hanging baskets everywhere. Fridge and microwave in room. Best amenity was the breakfast and the servers that kept up with the food for guests, particularly Cindy. The coffee is the best! Front desk staff were very nice as well.

"To much frebreeze"
LisaKWSmith, 04 Août 2016

This place isn't much to look at but the office seemed clean and up to good standards. Oley is a young man who works the desk seemed helpful has a little language barrier. Never was told that the door knob has to be lifted up as reported by another user. Parking is tight and you best hope your e brake works especially on rooms in the 300s area. The bike wash sits right behind the cars parked at room 309 that's ridiculous. The place says dog friendly but there isn't much room to take the dog potty. The room was overly frebreezed making one sick the beds had stains on them in clear sight even. The bathroom was super tight like mini closet size with the sink and mirror outside the bathroom. The carpet is that old greenish crap from the 60s the beds are short like to knee cap level it's like being on the ground. The pool was huge with a 1person hot tub in a separate bldg. This is a hotel motel like back in the day with room doors facing out. We didn't have breakfast nor use the pool infact after a few hrs there we checked out. Remember the frebreezed room overly saturated in it well it had made my daughter so ill we had to leave it was making me quite ill as well we had left the door open since short after our arrival a huge storm moved in hoping to air it out didn't work. Ending up with headaches and a dog who was gagging. I went to the front there was a different guy working very nice explained things to him and I was only charged less then 50 for being there from 2-5ish. Fair enough. He offered to blow out the room while we went to supper but I couldn't go my kid was sick and now puking and I worked hotels before that iodizer fan isn't going to work. The room was enough in size for a family of 4 having two small kids under 10 we could have made it work **IF** it would not have stunk so bad and been dingy as far as bedding goes. Close by attractions

"Good hotel, nice folks...and across from mini-golf!"
Mark L, 03 Août 2016

My wife and I stayed here one night while on a national park vacation. The property and rooms are very clean, the staff is extremely nice, and most importantly - IT'S ACROSS THE STREET FROM MINI GOLF! Our room had all the basic needs, the bathroom was quite nice with a large shower, and did I mention that it's across from mini golf?

"Nice clean well maintained hotel"
307scm60, 03 Août 2016

We were able to check in early and that as very nice. The rooms were nice and clean. We enjoyed the pool after a hot day. The hotel sets on a hil with a nice view. The continental breakfast was pretty good, but they need more seating room. I will stay here agin when I go to Custer again.

"Okay"
Breanna P, 03 Août 2016

Things I liked about this hotel: - Good breakfast: Wide variety of hot and cold breakfast foods - Incredibly friendly and helpful staff: They always had smiles on their faces and were willing to go the extra mile to help with anything! - Wonderful location: the hotel was very close to the downtown area, good food, and activities - The price: very reasonable price for the area! I didn't love: - The room was pretty small: For four of us, the room and bathroom felt pretty tight - The A/C was pretty noisy: I'm sure this was only in our room, but the A/C made a clicking sort of sound that made it hard to get to sleep. - Beds: Not horrible, but not very comfortable either

"Very nice place"
Heidi B, 01 Août 2016

This was a very nice and clean place to stay at and the breakfast was good. It's in a great location when visiting Custer State Park and Mount Rushmore. I'd stay here again. People were very friendly.

"door knob"
Gail M, 01 Août 2016

The room was average but I felt the price was a little high. The door knob on entry only works when you lift it up to open the door. The staff knew this and apparently no one cares to fix it causing guest to walk to office to find out why you can't get in the door. The coffee machine was not very clean so we went down town to get coffee.

"Fun with Family"
Marie D, 27 Juillet 2016

This hotel is so clean and the staff is so friendly! Cindy was our hostess for breakfast and I have never started a day off so cheerily! Our check in was smooth and welcoming, the rooms were clean and the hotel is located in just the right spot.

"Good location for travel to Mt. Rushmore"
mgreenie, 25 Juillet 2016

We stayed here for 2 nights,on our visit to Mt. Rushmore our room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The breakfast was a great biscuits and gravy, eggs, beacon and all the rest, They are in the middle of town it is an easy drive to Mt. Rushmore and Custer state park.

"Great, clean place to stay!!"
TheRachuys13, 25 Juillet 2016

The room was extremely clean and the staff was always very helpful and nice. Especially the breakfast staff. The only complaint was not enough seating at breakfast. Other than that, everything was great.

"Rushmore ready!"
E683SSkellyp, 23 Juillet 2016

Staff, location, and room were fine. Breakfast was not good. The eggs were wet and the bacon was greasy, cold, and undercooked. Parking was tight. Did not use pool, cannot rate it. Value was ok if breakfast was better. Easy access to Mt Rushmore, Sturgis, Deadwood.

"An acceptable choice"
WestTexastraveller17, 23 Juillet 2016

This is an acceptable choice in a good location in Custer, probably above average as lodging in small western tourist towns goes. The room was clean and comfortable, and everything in it worked. The ice machine serving our building was out of order, and we had to walk across the parking lot to the other building for ice. The staff people were competent. While short of very good, a rating of good would be appropriate for this property.

"Nice, clean place to stay, great staff."
Belinda P, 23 Juillet 2016

Room was clean. Pool was nice but jacuzzi jets did not work. Staff was "working" on it. Breakfast was ok. The staff helped us switch to another room when my wife felt the one we were in was too noisy.

"very nice"
Robin W, 22 Juillet 2016

This hotel was very nice and very comfy. Rate was reasonable for the area. The front desk workers were very kind and nice and helpful. We were very pleased with everything we recived. The breakfast was better than most and offered gluten and dairy free options - if we asked for them.

"Nice place!"
AAB250, 21 Juillet 2016

Check in was smooth. The 2 guys working the desk were super friendly! Pool was actually warm and big. Hot tub jets didn't work well but the pool made up for it. Beds were comfy. Fast WiFi! My husband and son ate breakfast and said it was pretty bad. The juice was watery and most of the food was pretty tasteless. Overall a decent place to stay. Custer is a cute little town!

"Good hotel"
Jimmy B, 20 Juillet 2016

We stayed in BW Buffalo Ridge Inn in a summer time and we did't made a reservation. But we was lucky to got a last available room. We so like it. Room was nice. Also they serve so good breakfast. You can have grab and go package which include a bottle of water, two apple and candy bar. It's very nice. At breakfast the service staff was very helpful. Especially we like Bridget.

"Good value"
Darren G, 20 Juillet 2016

Family of 5 vacation. Double queens room was spacious. Clean and comfortable. Beds were great. Nice pool. Good breakfast but was 6-9a, could've been longer. Good location. Wifi went out a few times which was my only source of communication with no cell service. We were happy with the stay.

"Home off the range"
capedoc, 20 Juillet 2016

Books this place a couple of weeks before coming and had forgotten I'd booked it. Got the pop up that I had a booking here which added 2 hours of driving on a Monday night. When I tried to cancel it they wouldn't let me as it was already within the 24 hour window. My bad. I'm glad that we went as it ended up being a positive experience. It is in Custer which is a central area for the whole South Dakota experience. You're about 12 miles from jewel cave and about the same if not less from Crazy Horse. When we got there at 22:30, the place was absolutely full with only one parking left, in front of our room. Check in was fast and courteous, as were all the staff I met during the visit. There's a pool and spa which were unused by us. I was traveling with wife and two teens. I booked the one room suite with one King and two doubles. There was a microwave, Fridge and a TV in each room. There's a single bath with uncomplicated hot and cold shower controls; a major plus. Aircon was good, if a little whinny. Good furnishings which looks as if the place was modernized recently. Our room had a bath, which is a major plus for the missus. Where this place is great is with the breakfasts. Until 9am, it is inclusive with you stay. Boiled eggs, yogurt, muffins, bagels, juices, cereals, good coffee, waffles, pastries, sort of scrambled eggs and the best sausages outside of the U.K. Really. I asked for the supplier so I can get my own as I haven't found decent sausages in the US u to now. Family slept way past when they should've, which is a compliment to the beds and the noise levels. If I ever come this way again would definitely make this a base for travels in the area.

"Very Good Value"
James E, 19 Juillet 2016

The highlight of this Best Western is its staff, particularly the ladies who serve breakfast in the morning. The breakfast itself is excellent, although they clearly need more room. They also need to put in a separate waffle station; because of its current positioning, it slows down the entire queueing process, so that the waiting lines sometime extend out the door. The rooms, although worn and outdated, were clean, and the bathroom amenities were excellent. The Captains Table Restaurant, recommended by the front desk staff, was a short walk down the driveway, and served surprisingly good food. One more issue - the heating/AC system is the very old type, mounted near the window, with the noise level of a 747. No thermostat. These units need to be replaced. Other than that, a very pleasant two-day stay.

"Decent..."
Naughty-Cougar, 19 Juillet 2016

The Hotel itself is not bad. Good location, at the beginning of the country's entry to the West. Clean rooms and complete the necessary comfort. Reception staff didn`t seem friendly, but more hasty and not very interested in the customer. The breakfast is held almost in the hall of reception. This implies limited space and confusion. Price, offer, more than honest.

"Clean, comfortable hotel in great location"
Douglas L, 18 Juillet 2016

Twice we've stayed in this hotel while visiting the Black Hills and Custer State Park. The location is great and the town has what we need. The hotel is clean, comfortable, and quiet with decent breakfast and wifi. Hotel staff is extremely friendly and knowledgeable - and available. I highly recommend this hotel!!

"summertime cycle tour"
594geraldt, 18 Juillet 2016

Desk staff is friendly, courteous and very helpful. Hotel is older, however rooms are nicely updated, except the A/C unit. Ours unfortunately did not cool room below 70F. Breakfast is very satisfying with a full array of food to choose from.

"Vacation"
Renee M, 13 Juillet 2016

Very clean, nice and courtious. Cindy the breakfast was wonderful each and every morning. Would stay again. Remember the altitude when you go. Air is thinner. Very close to crazy horse monument a must see when your there

"Great place "
Lori N, 11 Juillet 2016

Very friendly helpful staff. Great continental breakfast, thank you to the ladies that constantly kept the food coming.( best hotel coffee ever). Clean comfortable room. Close to all attractions in the area. We would definitely stay here again.

"Custer Has Options"
Steven C, 11 Juillet 2016

Usually stay while road traveling at Best Westerns, this was a nice property on out skirts of main down town Custer. Mattresses and pillows not very good. Curtains did not darken the room. I was given the handy cap room, I made reservations 30 days in advance and was not pleased with their choice of room and location for a Best Western member that prepaid.

"Stayed with kids. "
Vicki G, 10 Juillet 2016

The place was clean and friendly staff. Pool was clean as well as the hot tub. Fridge in room worked well with kids. We were tired from long day so just ordered pizza in. Then Wales a cross the road for mini golf. There is a restaurant basically at edge of parking lot as you drive in. Also next door a magic show theatre perfect for adults and kids. I would stay again

"Close to Mt. Rushmore and Crazy Horse"
Dorothy C, 07 Juillet 2016

This hotel is clean and very convenient to locations in the Black Hills. It was full to capacity the night we stayed. We wanted to stay 2 nights, but couldn't get a room for both nights without changing rooms so we only stayed one night here and changed to another hotel for the next night.

"Pleasant stay for a large chain motel"
Don E, 06 Juillet 2016

Friendly staff. Nice clean rooms at a good price point. Best breakfast selection I've seen outside of Germany! Property well kept. The nightstand 110v/USB chargers came in handy. I'd definitely stay here again.

"Meh "
SCossette, 06 Juillet 2016

The hotel was OK. I booked in March and had requested 2 rooms side by side as we have large family - I assumed it was plenty of time to allow this to happen. When we got there they had us different floors and opposite ends - wasn't too handy trying to juggle the kids. Breakfast was decent, housekeeping was great. The beds - like a wooden board.

"A Lot of Bang for the Buck!"
Ronald S, 30 Juin 2016

An exceptionally friendly staff made this stay a pleasure. At breakfast, Cindy greeted each member of my family personally and offered customized service. The young man in charge of check-ins was very patient and helpful with us concerning a package delivery. Also, the staff had a rollaway bed wating in the room (as we had requested) when we arrived. The place was immaculate and comfortable. A+++!

"delicious breakfast"
James B, 30 Juin 2016

Very nice rooms. Extremely clean. Comfortable beds. Stayed at four Best Westerns during my trip to South Dakota and this one had an excellent breakfast. It was very well stocked and the eating area was kept quite clean. Very polite front desk staff. I would recommend this hotel in the Custer area.

"Great Experience"
Sandy B, 29 Juin 2016

Great rooms, pool and breakfast. Staff was great. We stayed for 5 nights and had no issues. Our two boys enjoyed the pool. The place was clean and the price was reasonable. We would definitely recommend this hotel and would use it again.

"Interesting "
qurley, 28 Juin 2016

We have had a good experience because during the entire we are gone. Was disappointed there is no family style restaurant on the property and I guess if come at night be careful of the large gathering including small children in the parking lot.

"Nice"
Julie W, 28 Juin 2016

Nice place to stay to base our vacation from. Friendly staff. Nice breakfast so many options. Clean room. My daughters and I had a great vacation. What a wonderful location. Pool was nice. Will stay again if we vacation here again.

"Custer gives Great service & value "
Connie K, 28 Juin 2016

Check-in was a snap with Winston & O'Jay at the front desk. Everything was Fresh, Clean and so Friendly! I'd say an outstanding breakfast buffet each morning. So many fresh selections to satisfy any visitor. The pool-spa area was a terrific way to relax after a full day of site seeing.

"Touring the Black Hills"
Robert C, 26 Juin 2016

Stayed for three days and four nights. Overall, I was very satisfied with the facility and personnel. The hotel is two story without an elevator, so if you are not a youngster, I would recommend a first floor room. Parking was a slight problem and depending when you arrived or left the facility determined where you could park. Cindy was very helpful during each breakfast. Location is great for touring the Black Hills

"Clean & friendly"
Katie E, 23 Juin 2016

We stayed 4 nights & loved it! The room was clean & updated. All the employees were very friendly. Breakfast was great & the pool was great for the kids. The only con was that the room was small especially the bathroom.

"Custer"
Dock T, 22 Juin 2016

Great place to stay. Service was excellent. The manager on check in was very accommodating and gave us exactly what we wanted. The rooms were quiet and the beds were comfortable. The breakfast was good but we had been on the road for 20 days so it seemed typical breakfast food.

"An Overlooked Gem"
YellowstoneBound1948, 20 Juin 2016

The chain motels across the highway are top notch (I have stayed there before), but they are beyond my financial reach during high season. I waited until the last day to make my reservation, and I began to think I might have to stay in Rapid City -- miles away from where I wanted to be. But then, I started reading TripAdvisor's ratings and the Buffalo Ridge Inn caught my eye. I am glad that it did. The parking was easy, the check-in was smooth, the breakfast was delicious and the seating area large, and the room was attractive, well-appointed, and cool. For me, the bed was a little hard, but all things considered, this was a top value for a lot less money than I would have paid to stay across the highway.

"Clean room "
Jordan L, 19 Juin 2016

Very clean room and friendly helpful staff great breakfast to start the day only complaints would be the hardness of bed which I understand everyone likes something different and the hot tub is nothing great.

"great place"
Courtney B, 19 Juin 2016

It was clean and comfortable. The staff was very nice. We especially thought the breakfast was great. I have never seen a continental breakfast this good. We also liked the coffee. So many hotels offer free coffee but watery. The coffee here was good. Also like the coffee offered in the room.

"Good Hotel but awesome breakfast service"
John B, 19 Juin 2016

We had pre booked this and although we arrived very early they found us a room on the first floor straight away. Large room, nice and clean and comfy. Plenty of free parking outside and handily placed for all Custer facilities. Room has Phone, T.V. and coffee machine. OK, now for the best bit. We asked at reception if there was any Gluten free cereal available for the free breakfast and the guy said no but he thought they did G.F. Muffins. When we went for breakfast not only did they have a choice of G.F. Cereal but a basket of Muffins, Bagels and more. And the ladies doing the breakfast were amazing, friendly, efficient and really happy too. They deserve a rise Mr Manager! Great Service.

"Clean rooms"
Lynnelle M, 15 Juin 2016

Average hotel like most hotels in the area. Room was clean and staff was friendly. Didn't use pool but a lot of people were. Needed a cot for child and the cot was very noisy and uncomfortable. Check in, check out personnel were all friendly and efficient. Free breakfast was nice and well supplied

"Did the Job"
halilley, 13 Juin 2016

Motel style. Plenty to free parking. Large heated indoor pool with a hot tub in a convenient adjacent building. Loungers, tables and chairs were available ad plenty of towels. The problem was the changing facilities - none, showers - none, just two 'restrooms' one for a male the other a female, but no benches or hooks. No bath robes available either. Staff at reception efficient, pleasant and informative. The fair sized bedroom with two Queens which we used for three nights was only fairly clean. Bible in drawer. A towel dropped on the floor picked up hairs which were not ours. Decorations beginning to get tired. Carpet badly stained at outside door. The air-conditioning unit was high on the wall, no remote programmer. The controls on the unit were a considerable stretch. Adequate bathroom, bath with shower over, range of toiletries. Included breakfast was good and although not many tables it all worked well, breakfast closed at 09-00, half-hour earlier that is the norm.

"Stayed 5 nights here to tour Mt Rushmore area."
jls1031, 11 Juin 2016

First night there we had to change rooms because our beds were not clean. A/C unit was in the wall, and we had to move a chair to the vanity area and climb up to adjust it. Never did get comfortable because could not read knobs/dials. Freezing some nights and roasting other nights. Room smelled very musty - went out and bought Lysol the first day. Small refrigerator very inconvenient sitting on floor under the microwave -felt like you were almost standing on your head to use it. At least staff was courteous and tried to be accommodating. Free breakfast was good. Have no clue as to why anyone would put the heating A/C unit in the wall right up to the ceiling. That is just idiotic, and certainly not the fault of the current staff. Guess we were in the old part of the motel. Would not stay there again.

"Comfortable and welcoming hotel"
BandAT, 06 Juin 2016

We stayed two nights. The room was very well equipped. A very good breakfast included. Not too far to walk to town centre. A lot of useful local information in reception area. Also has a good sized swimming pool and laundry facilities. Most importantly a very comfortable bed and excellent shower. Best thing was being able to park directly outside, a real bonus when you have luggage. We also had great internet access.

"Vacation visit."
amy6012016, 05 Juin 2016

The whole experience at this Best Western was totally awesome. The people go out of their way to assist you, and will take the time to get to know you. The room was great, pool was great, and the breakfast was especially good as well. Would definitely stay again next time we visit Custer, SD.

"Customer Service Plus!"
moffy55337, 03 Juin 2016

Through no fault of the hotel, our experience started off on the wrong foot. Priceline.com had cancelled our reservation, even though Priceline had charged our Discover card for the full amount. Winzer was the man at the desk that evening. He was fantastic - calm, persistent, and very helpful. Ultimately, we were able to book a room and retire for the night. All of the staff was friendly and helpful. The breakfasts were good and the room was clean and quiet. The hotel has the old-style outdoor stairways and entrances as well as a newer addition with interior entrances. The town of Custer was a good location for the things that we wanted to see and do. Close to Mt. Rushmore and Crazy Horse as well as the Mammoth Site in Hot Springs and Custer State Park.

"Great price & pet friendly"
Kathy H, 01 Juin 2016

We love going to the Custer State Park and the surrounding area. We left the Mt. Rushmore White House Resort in Keystone to stay at this Best Western. I'm so glad that we did! The hotel staff, especially Ojay were friendly, welcoming and helpful. The room was clean and supplied properly. We would have given this hotel a 5 instead of a 4, if our room had been ready when we checked in. I guess you could say that was partially our fault though. We arrived earlier than check in time and they were kind enough to accomodate us. So, I will go back and change my rating to a 5. Have a beautiful trip to South Dakota!! D&K from Hobart, Indiana

"Great place to Stay in Black Hills Area!"
Robert K, 01 Juin 2016

We very much enjoyed our stay. The accommodations were comfortable, the staff was terrific and helpful, the location was perfect for seeing the various attractions in the Black Hills area of South Dakota. The complimentary breakfast was great; the price was reasonable.

"The ONLY Hotel to stay at"
Cindy H, 01 Juin 2016

Everything was tip top excellent! We loved our stay! The staff were friendly and professional, the rooms were squeaky clean, the breakfast had tons of choices and I'm gluten-free. They sent us on our way with a lunch bag full of gluten free items for the trip!

"Vacation"
Diane F, 30 Mai 2016

I found this hotel to be very nicely updated. It has been well maintained. The rooms were clean with no aroma of smoking. The staff at the desk, cleaning staff, and hospitality especially Cindy we're very good and satisfying. I would recommend this hotel for anyone's vacationing/business purposes.

"Renovation not complete"
Rhonda O, 29 Mai 2016

We got into town late, and all the hotels booked up. The owner was kind enough to set up a room for us,hung a blanket on window. Its an old building, and needs a lot of work. New carpet and bed(firm) Thankful for a place to sleep, it was quiet.

"Good location + Excellent staff"
jeff-W-Colorado, 26 Mai 2016

We was visiting Black Hills the weekend of May 14th, and glad that we stayed at Best Western Buffalo Ridge Inn. The staff, WINSTON and other folks, are very friendly and helpful, paying attentions to details and going all the way to make our stays comfortable. The room was clean and spacious. The location of the hotel is also excellent, easy access to Mount Rushmore, Crazy Horse, Wind Cave NP, and other Black Hills area attractions. Highly recommended.

"Very clean and scenic"
Mbomblat, 25 Mai 2016

Helpful staff, excellent breakfast. Very clean and spacious rooms.Walking distance to restaurants. In season, there is a miniature golf course right across the street. Winston, at the front desk was charming and helpful.

"great place to stay"
Daniel B, 24 Mai 2016

The people who worked here made my trip so much better. The setting is easy to deal with and my room was great. Breakfast both mornings was hot and tasty and was not exactly the same. The staff provided some of the best recommendations about the area and quickly and efficiently took care of the one glitch I had checking in.

"Good Service - Freindly and Clean"
tele87, 22 Mai 2016

We stayed here with four other couples while visiting the Black Hills. We had stayed here about ten years ago and it was really good, friendly, clean, good beds and good breakfast. This time we did have an issue with the room reservation and the TV, but both were fixed quickly. Everyone in our group said the same thing - everyone here was very friendly, from the folks at the desk to the maintenance man. The rooms are clean, modern and the beds were very good. The free breakfast is on par with most other hotels, but the service is so much better. They had two folks on for breakfast and it was always well stocked and clean. The only complaint might be that the internet could have been faster, but not a big deal if you are on vacation. We would stay here again.

"Excellent hotel, great location, perfect price"
Badger27, 20 Mai 2016

My wife and I stayed here for a few nights during our trip to South Dakota. It is a very clean hotel with very, very friendly staff. The rooms are updated, beds are very comfortable. The breakfast was excellent, they change the hot items every day that is a great touch. The only downside is the location, Custer looks to be a dying town with many business for sale or closed down. It's too bad because this hotel is a great place to stay. But if you don't mind driving for some food, I would highly recommend staying at the Buffalo Ridge.

"Wonderful experience."
Beverly P, 18 Mai 2016

I checked in to a "one of a kind room". It was for handicapped persons. It was very nice and the handle bars gave one security. I was there a little early so the room was not quite ready so I said I would go and get myself some late lunch or early dinner. When I returned my room was ready and I met a very nice couple from Virginia. I later found out they are going almost the same places I am going. It is a small world. The room was nice and the breakfast was very good.

"awesome"
John B, 17 Mai 2016

Great place very clean friendly knowledgeable staff clean rooms excellent amenities one of the best selections of breakfasts' I have had in a while rooms very comfortable roomy will definitely stay there again and recommend to friends and family

"Tripping in the Hills!!"
Robert F, 16 Mai 2016

Had a wonderful stay at Buffalo Ridge Inn...very clean, wonderful staff, and just a all-around great experience!! The beautiful Black Hills of South Dakota only added to our experience, as we were located so near, a lot of historic sites.

"Great Place to stay"
Tammie H, 14 Mai 2016

Clean rooms, friendly staff...Great experience...Thank You! On my next trip to Custer, I wouldn't even consider going anywhere else. The staff here were friendly, polite and nice. I forgot my toothbrush and I went to the desk embarrassed to ask for one. No problem. I was given one with a smile and a laugh. Thank you so much

"Great place to stay"
Nick A, 13 Mai 2016

The staff was great, the breakfast was wonderful! Even though they are currently renovating some of the rooms, they were extremely accomodating! Nothing bad I can say about this place at all. We didnt get to use the indoor pool since we got in rather late, but their wifi was a great and fast connection. The beds were really comfortable, and the staff were very knowledgeable about how to reach alot of the attractions.

"GREAT ATMOSPHERE"
stephensJ4415FX, 13 Mai 2016

This is a Vet friendly place to stay!!!!!! It's great to walk in and be met by a warm handshake from another Vet that is employed by this company. The experience was one that leaves you feeling like someone cares about your every want and need.

"Great breakfast and staff"
Judy J, 10 Mai 2016

This motel has been open for a short time for the 2016 season. We arrived without a reservation and got a king room for $70. The evening staff were helpful with some dinner suggestions. The room wasn't fancy but it was clean, there was a small table and two chairs, a refrigerator and microwave. The breakfast buffet was very good with quite a bit of variety and several hot options. There was a good amount of seating available. The morning clerk and person responsible for the buffet were very friendly. This was a good value place to stay!

"Best Customer Service Experience!!!!"
Annie V, 06 Mai 2016

I booked hotel stay online and when I showed up the dates were completely wrong. Staff were quick to take care of me and set my family up in a room with no hassle and were extremely friendly. The next morning, staff greeted us at breakfast and were pleased to assist us in any way. I would take a family-friendly oriented place anytime! Great location to monuments and parks. Indoor pool was also a plus opened until 11:00pm. I defiantly recommend and would stay here again!

"Awesome"
Colby M, 15 Novembre 2015

Had a great experience. They have a pool and across the street there is a mini golf course, and behind the building there is a flinstone park. There is also a wonderful magic show too. We went to custard state park, Mount Rushmore, badlands, wall drug, and bear country. They also have an daily breakfast at the hotel, you can make waffles eggs, and bangles toast.

"Nice, but too short in Staff"
Hoesy139, 08 Novembre 2015

Nice hotel with friendly and helpful staff. Unfortunately, we arrived late when it was fully booked. In that case they seemed to lack simple things like towels and a staff to take care of the shortage. Breakfast was simple but enough.

"best western"
williamcG6214ZO, 06 Octobre 2015

This best western in custer south Dakota was a great place to stay, the breakfast was very tasty and plentiful, the room was extremely nice and comfortable, staff were very friendly and accommodating. The whole property was very clean and secure feeling, we loved it. It is located very near the Custer state park which was a delight to travel through on our trip.

"Decent place"
Nancy K, 01 Octobre 2015

Typical Best Western. Nothing out of the ordinary. Friendly staff, clean rooms and not overly priced. There is no elevator, so be prepared to carry bags up some stairs. Breakfast area is too small for size of hotel as not enough tables. I'd stay there again.

"Great location, great value"
Jim E, 29 Septembre 2015

Large clean room, comfortable bed, helpful and friendly staff. Great location for Jewell Cave National Monument, Wind Cave National Park as well as the annual buffalo round-up and Mount Rushmore National Monument. Great restaurant adjacent to the hotel. I will definitely stay here the next time I am in this area.

"Excellent price and value for the area"
Finbar M, 27 Septembre 2015

My wife and I were on our regular fall road trip. During our first visit to Mt. Rushmore we had a challenge booking a hotel at reasonable prices. We eventually located this Best Western approximately 30 minutes away at the best available price. The room was clean and very large as well as comfortable. The staff were very courteous and professional. Would recommend to anyone.

"Just Ok"
spsandi, 27 Septembre 2015

Typical Best Western, nothing special. Decor fit the area. Location very good! Rooms a little small, not much seating area. Breakfast room and lobby combined. Very small gift shop. Quiet and beds were comfortable.
