    « Ballroom /Latin championships weekend »

Hotel ideally placed on Sea front. Lovely views while eating excellent breakfast or evening meal. Food enjoyable and good quality. Hotel clean with single, double and family rooms but the ones I saw were all small with same size hanging space in each room, open bedside table with shelf. Only one drawer for hairdryer. Very little floor space for sitting watching TV in room . In shower room/bathroom the sink was tiny in single room, no towel rail in mine. Hardly anywhere to place toiletries in either rooms. Bed mattress OK but old bases. Small quilt. Two bodies under it, no overhang down side. Overall quite basic for a 3 star hotel. Championships were fantastic though!

    « 2 night stay »

This hotel is handy for the town yet just far enough away to get some peace! Free easy onsite parking is also a real plus. We arrived and were greeted by friendly staff who checked us in swiftly. Our room was of a good size with comfortable bed and well equipped bathroom. Breakfast was very good and the staff were friendly. We had dinner one night which wasn't great. There seemed to be very few staff and we waited for a long time to be served. I ordered the Fish and Chips main course which when presented looked and tasted like a birds eye fish portion. It wasn't event a whole fillet of fish but rather mashed up fish pieces. When we came to check out there were no staff anywhere to be found. after waiting 10 minutes we left our keycard and departed as our bill was pre paid. Despite the poor experience at dinner, this hotel offers very good value for money. It has a friendly team of staff and could just do with a few more staff to cater better to their guests

    « Simple overnight stay. »

I stayed overnight to see the illuminations and sights in Blackpool and this hotel was very reasonably priced, in a great location on the sea front, with free onsite parking and breakfast included in the rate. My single room was small but clean and well appointed with en suite shower. The public areas looked clean and contemporary and the carpet in my room looked new and up to date. Bed linen and towels were good quality and the bed was comfy. No view from the room, but that was not paid for or expected for just one night! Breakfast was good with all the usual offerings for a continental or hot breakfast. I found the staff delightful and helpful especially the lady who checked me in. It is not a glamorous hotel but it does what it says on the tin! Clean, simple and convenient. The Tower is a 10 minute walk away and the tram stop (Pleasant Street) is right outside. Tram tickets can be bought for a fiver and last 24 hours.....great if you run out of energy to walk! The staff at the Tourist Information Center gave helpful advice for the things I wanted to do and have tickets for some attractions more cheaply than at the attraction itself. Worth asking!

    « Amazing Overnight Stay »

The hotel is fabulous. Staff greeted me with a smile and were very helpful. The food in the restaurant was amazing, I had fish and chips and Eton mess. All staff are really friendly and helpful. The room itself was very high standard and comfortable. Had an amazing nights sleep and no disturbances during the night. I'd definitely recommend it and will definitely be back. Best hotel I've been to in Blackpool for a few years and I stay over at least 10 times a year.

    « Could be better »

Positives : Location, parking and food was nice. Negatives: Atmosphere, check in procedure was strange and our room was small and cold. It is a pity as this hotel could be really nice but the lack of atmosphere spoils it.

    « service »

Room with sea view was excellent. The service in the lounge and bar was very poor, had to keep looking for staff. Wanted a bar snack but told not available because they were busy in the restaurant at lunch time.

« Few days at the lights »

We arrived around 4pm to a unhappy couple complaining there was no water despite being told it would be fixed an hour ago. More people came down to ask what was happening so it was clear the receptionist wasn't telling people as the booked in. I asked for 2 bottles of water to make a drink as we had travelled 8 hours. I was given 1. We had a drink and then went for a walk we returned late evening and had hot water but the room was still chilly. The room was clean but tiny. The furniture arrangements didn't help with moving around. The bathroom was the tiniest we hav ever seen I doubt large people would be able to use it. It was 311 at the back with views over fire escape. Breakfast was lovely and plentiful we managed to get a window set. The 2nd night we folded the curtains so they didn't cover the rad and placed a blanket across the bottom of door to block out the light from the hall way. We would stay there again as it was a short walk from the tower had parking but limited. The staff were very helpful.

« Not as good as it could be »

Stayed here recently for 3 nights. The food here is very good. The room was small but ok, clean and fresh. However, the wardrobe had no doors - no means of closing, and there were no drawers whatsoever in the room. This meant that all clothes, underwear and personal items were on show all of the time. How weird; and of course all there for the chambermaids to see as well when they serviced the room. The first 2 nights we had to ask for the heating to be put on, once at 20.30 and once at 21.45. This was nothing to do with the boiler breakdown on the one day - these things happen and can be excused. But no heating when the weather outside was cold ?? Very poor, and lots of excuses why it wasn't on. Reading between the lines it seems that the management were trying to save money by putting on the heating (earlier when we weren't there) for an hour or so and then turning it off. When it was turned on it worked fine, and controllable from the room with a radiator thermostat. Upon checkout we weren't asked anything (everything OK, any problems, have you enjoyed your stay etc) which was also poor. However, the staff were polite and courteous during our stay.

« Nice Hotel Reasonable Value »

Ive stayed at this Hotel for at least two days every month for the last 3 years I've always found the staff curtious ,friendly and very helpfull. The Rooms are tastefully decorated smell clean and fresh ,everything works and the beds are very comfortable which always makes for a good nights sleep. Location is good ,on the sea front and only yards from the tram stop and within walking distance of the town. I've always been treated exceptionaly well by the people who staff this Hotel and I cannot fault them. There a wonderful team hence my repeated visits that I always look forward to.

    « Never again »

Myself and my daughter had two single rooms and although not told in advance the renovation works did not disturb us. The rooms were ok but neither of us could shower, my daughters ran ice cold and mine alternated ice cold to scalding hot (dangerous for small kids).

« This is for food only!!! »

First off did not stay here just ate in the hotel. Arrived around 7pm and were shown to a table within a few minutes. Waiter came over quickly and took drink orders, so far so good. There was a deal of two courses for £10.95 or three courses for i think £12.95. My wife opted for a starter and main, my son and i main and desert and my daughter ordered off the kids menu. And now it goes wrong. The starter and the kids meal came at the same time. Why? We hadn't asked, and had not been asked if we wanted this. It meant she sat bored as she'd finished hers. Stupid thing to do. Starter (garlic mushrooms) was ok. Kids meal chips and beans were warm at best. Chips were oven chips and not fresh. I tried one which was dreadful. Nuggets were ok. Main course were two steaks and a steak pie. 1 steak and the pie we wanted chips but were told no it had to be mash or boiled potatoes. Lucky escape after trying the chips. The steaks and steak pie there was more fat than meat. The pie crust was edible the mash cold. There is more steak in a greggs steak bake than here it was shocking and i left it. Also put me off having a desert as by now i just wanted to get out. The two steaks were both tough and hard to eat, the sauce was tasteless gloop. My son had chocolate fudge cake for desert which he said was nice. Spent 30 minutes trying to sort out the bill. Asked for the bill 3 times after it came we returned this 3 times as it was wrong. Drinks that should have been part of the kids meal were charged. The bill charged us for 3 course meals when nobody had one. It was a total disaster. The waitress got the manager to check who basically removed what he could to get the bill reduced and us out of there. Will never return here for food and it was so bad i doubt id eat in a best western again.

Booked my daughter grandson and myself to stay for the night lovely hotel can't check in till after 2 not many staff around stood at reception looking for a receptionist finally found one as it was 1 o clock we went back to car to put cases in and went out came back at tea time as my grandson is only 3 so we could put our cases in room which was nice I thought it was very expensive for what we paid and wasn't impressed breakfast was OK it must run on a skeleton of staff we paid Well over a hundred pounds for it and £60 would of been more than en instead of over double the price on checking out after waiting he the receptionist never asked if everything was OK or thanks if he had off would of told him we all have never slept on such hard beds never got hardly any sleep I'd of been more comfortable sleeping on a marble floor won't be going back

    « Worst Western! »

the welcome at this hotel was probably the worst we have ever experienced, when trying to check in we were asked to take a seat in reception and eventually a member of staff came to see us, however, because there was construction working going on we couldn't really here what they were saying. Also we weren't advised at the time if booking that construction work was taking place. The Bar area was open but had builders in so not somewhere you'd want to relax. We asked for a wine menu and were told there wasn't one but the female member of staff did point to 2 bottles of Red and then mumbled to types of White, after choosing a Red she then offered us champagne flutes to drink it out of? The food was appalling and we all went back to the room with unfinished plates and sore stomachs. Our room was tiny not very practical for 3 people and the window was so filthy you couldn't see out of it. We had threadbare bath towels and chipped floor tiles in the bathroom and the room couldn't have been bigger than 1 x 2meters Our room had no running water and when we complained the staff didn't seem surprised when we told them our room number so obviously they were aware of this we couldn't get another room as there was one to accommodate all 3 of us. We were given a key to a single room 2 floors down from us so we could use the shower which wasn't ideal. The manager wasn't around at checkout to discuss compensation.

    « Overpriced hotel »

Very over priced for facilities offered. Very under staffed. Beds are rock solid. Room was dirty. Best thing was the wifi speed. Breakfast was self service but average quality. 99% of guests are there for leisure so why start breakfast at 07:30 ? In evening only one member of staff covering bar/reception/restaurant

    « EXPENSIVE »

brought 2 drinks 1 oj and lemonade 1 rum and coke (single) cost £9 plus only stopped for 1 no wonder place was dead and on what appeared to be a very busy weekend elsewhere best western? worst western methinks

    « Okay I guess »

I got to say why i have only gave this hotel a mark out of 3 out of 5 food, staff, was fantastic can't say anything bad about them. But this is why I am very unhappy with hotel I booked a room that was fit for my bf who is disabled. I then find out 1 day before we are due to come and stay that in fact that they had not done this. I was told that the room that we was given would be okay for him. But what they do is put us in a small room that was tiny and no much room if they had told me months ago I would of booked somewhere else that was fit for us.

    « Definately wouldn't go back ! »

When we arrived at the hotel and went to book in, we were shown to a lounge and were told they'd be with us as soon as possible, but they had other people to book in first. We ended up waiting almost an hour and during that period asked if we could have tea and a beer but were told "Well that could take a bit of time" !! When we booked the hotel we asked for ground floor as we are both disabled, but they gave us a room on the second floor with no explanation, in fact they never even mentioned it. We did book a double room, but what we were given was a single room with a double bed in it. It was so small there wasn't even room for two bedside cabinets, as the double bed and ONE bedside cabinet was in fact the width of the room. This made life very difficult with our disabilities. Also, the plug in the hand basin was broken, and the toilet wouldn't flush properly. When we went downstairs for an evening meal, my wife looked at the menu and asked for a sirloin steak. On the menu, it stated that this came with onion rings, vegetables and boiled potatoes. My wife does not eat much, and asked if she could just have the steak with a few chips. She was told that she could only have chips as a side order and that would be £2.50 extra. I asked if that meant would she get a discount for the onion rings, vegetables and boiled potatoes that she WASN'T having, but was told it didn't work like that !!!! After a few choice words were exchanged, we both walked out and went elsewhere to eat. There really isn't much good that I can say about the place. The hotel was clean, and the staff were pleasant, but that did little to placate me after a 5 hour drive from Scotland, so were I to visit Blackpool again, I would give the Carlton Hotel a very wide berth !

    « Excellent! »

Only stayed overnight, but the location to everything is brilliant, rooms very clean and got everything you need in them. Staff very helpful and friendly and the breakfast was to die for!!! Well done all!!!

    « Room for improvement. »

Was far from ok as no heating in room and no hot water in the morning, in fact no water from the hot tap at all .There was also a lack of any satisfactory response to the above complaints from reception. Bed was comfortable but our third floor room was in the attic and headroom was a problem.

« There isn't a fairly good option but customer service is excellent for guests. »

Booked this hotel through bookings.com which gave me, what I thought was a very reasonable price for a three day Wednesday to Friday stay. In what they referred to as an executive room with breakfast. I wasn't initially impressed as after making the booking, our family had to attend a family funeral and neither booking.com or the hotel were particularly helpful with trying to rearrange the day. The hotel stuck fast to its booking policy and refused to change a date for us. This is understandable but future guests should be aware that, in this respect the hotel is not very helpful. The hotel itself is on the seafront with good views of the sea ? a short tram ride or longer walk will get you to Blackpool Tower and all the attractions. We went during the Illuminations and our room offered us a fair view of what was outside. The hotel has a carpark outside the front which whilst is not large managed to accommodate about 25 cars and a coach. Upon entering the hotel there is the front desk, bar and restaurant all on the ground floor. I can't stress how helpful the staff were during our stay. They interacted with our toddler, they had provided and set up a travel cot for our room. When asked they provided glasses of milk for our child free of charge. The hotel has complementary wifi which from our experience was fairly fast and strong in our room. Our room ? the executive room with sea view was on the second floor at the front of the hotel. It was fairly small, especially with the travel cot, though was quite well equipped with the standard fare of LCD TV, kettle with brew kits, heater etc. The standout features of the bedroom would have to be the USB plugs built into the plug sockets ? though they did not provide a fast charge. The sea view was disappointing as it was only from a small triangular bay window. The bed was very firm but we coped. The bathroom was also well appointed though in need of some slight repairs ? cracked tiles. The shower/bath system was most unusual with four taps on the wall, two for hot and cold water; the others for turning on the shower or the bath. Would have preferred a simple mixer tap. There was a small and seemingly unnecessary step into the bathroom which we stubbed ourselves on several times. I can't comment on the quality of the evening meals, though from looking at the menu they seemed to be reasonable priced. The breakfast was typical of a chain hotel. Hot plates contained the components of a full English and a conveyor toaster attempts to toast bread ? though fails miserably. There is also juices, tea coffee and fruit. Once again the staff were helpful for the most part. Overall ? it was not the best stay in a hotel we have had ? though it is miles above the worst. We would stay again but we won't bother paying for the exec room.

« Seafront hotel with advantage of Best Western consistency »

We chose this hotel as Best Westerns we have stayed at in the past seem to aspire to certain consistency of service. The hotel seemed to be in the process of a make over when we stayed and the bar and lounge area had just been painted in a bright turquoise which gave the area a rather cold feeling. However, the staff were friendly and helpful. The restaurant had a choice of a la carte or budget menu and there was as reasonable selection. Our room was a little pokey and tucked around the back but as we had specified a twin room it may be that that's why we ended up there as there were several nice big rooms with a seafront view. The hotel is well sited on the Golden Mile and a fifteen minute walk from the Tower. It is also opposite a tram stop.

« Recently Refurbished To A High Standard »

Enjoyed a 3 night B & B stay from 16th - 19th October. Very clean room and very comfortable bed. Unlike most hotels they weren't mean with the tea, coffee etc - well replenished every day. Wasn't looking forward to breakfast when we saw it wasn't freshly cooked but kept on a hot plate for us to serve ourselves, but the food was well prepared and stayed very hot. A good value break and wouldn't hesitate to book again next year.

Hotel appearance fine , parking good . Bland and uninviting reception area . Nice lady on reception made us feel welcome . Room good , bed comfy , sea view was good . Evening meal poor on par with a chain pub meal . Breakfast very good . Check-out good .

« Great Short Autumn Break »

Enjoyed a 2 night break here on a B&B basis with our grandson. We had a Double with Sea View which was great for viewing the Illuminations. Took Dinner in the Hotel both nights also. Staff friendly and made a fuss of the little one, he loved this. You should visit.

« lovely place to stay »

My husband and I stayed here for 1 night on 16th oct, the hotel is lovely. The staff were helpful and friendly and the room was great, we had a good sleep in a comfortable bed and also had a great view of the sea. There was a good selection of food on offer for breakfast and we both enjoyed a full english in the large dining room which had plenty of tables in the windows making the most of the hotels seafront position. We will definately stay here again when visiting blackpool.

    « Theatre Break Letdown »

The hotel on first impressions is modern and newly refurbished. We picked this hotel due to its location and pictures on Booking.com We arrived late due to our Theatre show being in the afternoon and arrived back for check-in after 5 pm. Our room was tiny and definitely not a double occupancy due the bed being hard up against a wall. there were 4 coat hangers in a box and just enough space to get around the bed. All the furnishings were new and the room was clean. However the bathroom was old, cramped and lacking in space for cosmetics etc. There was no shelving only a basin and shower which had seen better days. The morning was a huge letdown due to there being no hot water to shower or wash. Breakfast was limited, juices empty and not much in the way of hot food left. Checkout is very early in this modern day 10:30! On checking out I was not asked if things where fine and had to inform the person on the desk that I didn't think that the room was worth £125. He didn't bat an eye and just stated that he would inform his manager and took my number. I am still waiting after week and don't expect to hear from them. On the whole the hotel is below average run by European people that don't seem to be bothered. Blackpool on the whole is seedy and dirty place with the main clientele being stag and hen parties intent on getting wasted. Its 20 years since I was last there and certainly wont be returning again.

    « Illumination Visit »

Stayed for 3 nights 11th to 14th October in a double sea view room. The room was clean and had plenty of hot water. Breakfast was good and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Although we were B &B we did eat in the restaurant on 1 night. The food and service were excellent- 3 course meal £14.95 per person. We would definitely stay here again if we were in Blackpool.

    « A nice looking hotel »

I have stopped in many Best Western hotels and this one was ok. There was a warm welcome at reception and was directed to my single room overlooking the rear of the hotel. The room was a reasonable size, nicely decorated and the bath room although quite narrow was very clean. There were good tea and coffee making facilities within the room together with a wall mounted TV. I had an issue with the shower not working in the morning so that was a little disappointing, reported this to reception on my way to breakfast and there was someone else also complaining about no hot water in their room for 2 days running. The breakfast was very nice, a fantastic range of continental and full English available to help yourself too. The hotel is very well positioned, just a short walk to all attractions and across the road from the sea, great view from the restaurant.

We have spent 1 night in this hotel to see the illuminations with my little grandson. Room although clean was shabby mould all in the seals in the bathroom. No hot water for the bath or shower. And at £112 you would expect to have breakfast I clouded. We won't be coming back. Oh and they are trying to charge me twice ?????

    « Pleasant Surprise »

Just spent 2 nights at this hotel with my husband and grandson we weren't looking for more than a seaside hotel but were pleasantly surprised by this one. It has obviously been recently refurbished and it was really very nice. The lounge area was lovely overlooking the prom towards the sea as was the dining room all spotlessly clean and welcoming. The bedrooms were also very clean & comfortable. We had booked D B & B and there was a good menu and the food was of good quality. The hotel is in a great position near the North Pier and with a tram stop opposite getting about was so easy. Trams are fabulous! Lastly would just like to compliment the hotel on it's staff, who, without exception were helpful, kind and courteous and very good to deal with.

    « Worst place ever »

Stayed here for one night only with my husband at a cost of £163 without breakfast then payed an extra £26 to have a very rushed breakfast on the day we arrived and then the following morning. The breakfast was ok although we had to wait for eggs!!! But the stay was atrocious we struggled to get continuous hot water which was annoying but our friends that were also staying here had a problem with the hot water so she complained only to be passed on to a lady that was supposed to be of management status!!! Her reaction was to tell my friend well it is only 3* what do you expect if you don't like it find somewhere else to stay ...very negative attitude and a lack of customer service manners needless to say I didn't waste my breath complaining to her. Our room was facing the back and looked out to a flat roof with escape stairs not the best but it was only for one night. I arrived after only one week of falling and breaking both arms and to my alarm the bathroom in our room had a very small step that was barely noticeable and I was afraid of tripping in the night so subsequently left the bathroom light on resulting in hardly any sleep plus the guests above us were awake from 6am and I'm assuming from all the noise that they had children with them which I understand that children can be noisy but there was no let up from 6am onwards. The hotel had undergone some refurbishment that isn't complete yet it does look nice though...shame the staff weren't as nice they seemed to be just doing there job without any personality. On arrival we couldn't access our room until after 2pm so we went out for the whole day and returned early evening expecting to have a relaxing drink before retiring to bed but there wasn't any draught lagers and the bar staff wasn't very helpful so we left and called at the hotel next door and enjoyed a lovely drink in an ambient atmosphere with friendly staff needless to say we should have booked there it was so much nicer. All in all a massive let down with a massive expense that wasn't worth it.

    « an unpleasant stay »

Many problems with the room. Altogether an uncomfortable 2 nights and I won't bother with Best Western again. They didn't take the name of a lady and in an emergency she would have been forgotton. A nasty electrical fault caused me to miss the first night's sleep. I would have liked my money back.

    « Quality Weekend »

Ok so this is the 5th consecutive year we have stayed at this hotel. It was good before but it has now had a revamp and now even better. The rooms are to a high standard very clean with plenty coffee / Tea making facilities and comfortable beds. Breakfast is included in the price which again is excellent. Staff are very friendly and helpful. You will not be disappointed when you stay here.

    « Illuminations visit »

First time daughter had been to blackpool. Great memories made and helped by a fabulous hotel and room. Upgraded on arrival to a bigger family room with a sea view just a shame we couldn't have stayed 2 nights as was fully booked up as great location and staff. Great breakfast in the morning as well. Will be revisiting for sure in the future

    « Comfortable stay »

Booked the hotel as part of a super break package and extended the stay for a second night. Only 10 minute walk from Blackpool North Station and a similar walk along the prom to the tower etc. Very friendly welcome. Hotel is obviously being renovated, those areas which are completed are to a good standard. We had room 117 with a very partial sea view. The TV wasn't working but we were told this on check in and asked if that was OK. The room was clean, but basic, in need of decorating. Lots of cracks in the walls and bath chipped. That said as we looked over the roof, the room was very quiet, aside from the selfish 2am group of girls making their way to their room like a herd of elephants! Breakfast was included in our deal and plentiful. Buffet style. We had dinner in the restaurant one evening too, good value at, £10.95 for two courses. £14.95 if you want three. The restaurant overlooks the sea, if you're fortunate to get one of those tables, which we were. All in all a good location, friendly staff and clean.

« If you must stay in blackpool overnight then try this one »

Arrived after 22:00hrs, great difficulty in parking as car park full found a space to the rear. Reception very welcoming and friendly even at this hour. Restaurant closed, but to be expected, bar man rustled up a very nice cheese and pickle butty with an excellent pint of bitter. Lift to all floors, room compacted, very clean with an adequate bathroom. WiFi very good. A good nights sleep had. Breakfast ok with window seat looking over the sea. Overall this is a place for tourists but accommodate lone business people well

We stayed for two nights over the weekend on a bed and breakfast basis. Our room was small but adequate and had obviously been updated ,plenty of tea and coffee and toiletries supplied. The staff were friendly and helpful especially the lady who booked us in unfortunately didn't get her name. There are renovations going on but they didn't impact on our stay and when completed the hotel will look great.Breakfast is buffet style and was good and plentiful.Would stay again. On site parking a huge bonus.

Although the hotel has changed hands, the standards are just as high. Friendly reception after parking in the large car park and getting a reserved parking chit. The renovations have really smartened the place up, although not quite complete., When they are it will very stylish indeed. Our room was plain, but perfectly adequate, with every facility, although we would have preferred a sea view. As on all our previous visits, the dinner included in our booking fee was outstandingly good. A great choice, and prepared to perfection by the chef who has been there for years. The service was competent and friendly, and the restaurant manager was obliging enough to turn down the obnoxious saxophone music, which was very repetitive and intrusive. I hope the management will take this into account, as the same tape was playing at breakfast, and was the only fault I could find with our stay. The hotel is conveniently situated just far enough from the Golden Mile, and very handy for trams, and in our case access to the promenade for our walk to Fleetwood which we achieved in just over three hours! We took advantage of deal for dinner , bed and breakfast which was £105 for two, with extras coming to £15, and we felt this was very good value.

« Great hotel, clean, friendly and comfortable rooms »

The hotel has recently been refurbished and our room was clean and comfortable. Some ongoing work, but this did not impede upon our enjoyment of the hotel. Superb views from the front of the hotel. Breakfast self service although the choice was a little restricted.

    « Blackpool »

We had a lovely stay at the Best Western Calrton Hotel Blackpool, we arrived Friday evening staying for one night, I thought the price was slightly high paying £122 for bed and breakfast, the room was lovely however the bathroom was a bit dated compared to everything else, breakfast was lovely, we enjoyed our stay.

    « Awful Hotel »

This is the worst hotel we have stayed in ever. The room was small but furnished nicely but the bathroom was very old and dated. There wasn't any hot water only cold. Both from the shower or sink. The bath was chipped and so was the sink, We have photos to prove it. The floor was dirty with ingrained dirt on the lino. We stayed in room 305. We contacted reception and they said they would send someone up to the room but they never came. Obviously the hotel are aware of this problem and clearly they know there isn't anything they can do about the dated plumbing. We had to boil a kettle to have a wash this is no joke. Don't stay here!

    « ENJOYABLE STAY »

Very spacious sea view room with a king size bed and roll top bath !! Toilet and shower separate. Food good at dinner and breakfast.Great position and free parking.Staff very helpful and friendly.. Yes there is some work still on going but it did not inconvenience us. Only stayed here due to our usual hotel being fully booked but would not hesitate to stay again

    « Very Comfortable Hotel »

My friend and I just stayed 2 nights at this hotel for the Illuminations. We had a very nicely decorated twin room (No.214), with a sea view. Lots of tea, coffee and milk in the room too. The room was warm and the beds were comfortable. There is room service available, but we didn't need to use it. The lounge and bar are very smart and the staff were very helpful and friendly. We were able to park our car easily too and leave it there for the 2 days. Very good value for money, will be staying there again. Also within easy 10 - 15 walk to the North Pier.

    « Great place »

Stayed one night was very impressed on arrival plenty of parking spaces and nice clean and modern decorated . Looks like a lot of money is being spent on the place the room was nice and clean with a very small bathroom with a small step on the way in which we were told about by reception and a plaque on the door , but still managed to fall over it several times. Breakfast was lovely and plenty of choice. Good value . Will stay again.

    « Very helpful staff »

This was out first visit to this hotel, the reviews weren't great especially the one's about the renovations, this must get done on a week days as we saw no evidence of this. Yes it's true, it does need updating and it lacks atmosphere but it's location is brilliant, we had a side sea view room, not disappointed as the view from the dining room made up for that. The food is good !! The best buffet breakfast in have had, especially the bacon. The restaurant is too vast and needs dividing somehow. We didn't use the bar so I can't comment. The restaurant manager was very kind and helpful when my friend became unwell, he brought iced water up to the room without delay. The following day my friend was still unwell and he suggested me taking ice cream up to the room rather than a charge for room service. This is what makes a good hotel. We will go back.

A lovely room with a sea view, clean and comfortable beds. Ample tea and coffee in the room. Breakfast was very good value. Staff were very polite and welcoming. I would not hesitate n recommending to others.

« Good room and nice location, but.. »

We stayed here as a young couple from Tuesday-Friday, for a break away from Devon. Upon arrival, we were happy to find the car park had plenty of spaces available. As we entered the hotel, (we were fully aware of the renovations going on), the reception desk was make-shift and everything was in total dissaray! We were under the impression that it was only the restaurant that was under renovation, however the lounge area, the bar and the restaurant were all closed off in some way or another, which we were disappointed with as it meant we were put off using the bar (they only accepted cash also). Due to all of these closures, we didn't feel very welcome and if totally honest, we felt in the way. However, the receptionist was lovely when we checked in and she told us we could swap our room if required, due to a sloping ceiling- we are two tall people! The room was small but well decorated, the sloping ceiling added a touch of character to it. The view of the sea was gorgeous, and the bed was comfortable. The bathroom was average, with cosmetic damages apparent, it was in need of a revamp! We only had hot water for the last two nights, and the bath is extremely deep and we both struggled to get in and out. The room was overly hot at night, meaning we struggled to sleep for the first night. When we asked for a fan for the room the following morning on our way out, the gentleman on reception laughed and questioned our reasons- I found this to be slightly impolite as the heat it was impacting our stay! He placed a fan in our room whilst we were out, and it proved very useful for the next three nights! The hotel is on the northern end of the promenade, so it's extremely quiet at night which is lovely. We visited the Pleasure Beach via the tram stop which was right in front of the hotel, which was handy. The town and piers were only a short walk for us, however for an older less mobile couple it may have proved a little too far. We found some fantastic restaurants to eat in, I would highly recommend Piazza Italia in the town if you want some amazing pasta! The tower looked incredible all lit up at night even though we didn't venture up it! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Blackpool, and if i were to visit this hotel again, I would hope the atmosphere would be better after the renovations are finished.

    « Lovely »

Lovely room for 3. Clean and tidy. Fully stocked with tea and coffee and the bathroom had all I would expect. Clean towels. Breakfast is buffet style and fresh hot food being brought out all the time. Some refurb going on but little to no disruption to guests. Last minute booking as well due to the first place we booked being unsuitable. Would definitely stay again. Very very nice

« Very Poor Hotel - Will never return »

This hotel is currently undergoing refurbishment - which we were not informed of when booking. Everything looks temporary with no warmth or ambience - in fact it looks like the hotel is about to close. The bedrooms although refurbished, have been completed to an exceptionally poor standard, with cracks on the walls and ceilings, intermittent light fittings which go on and off on their own and very poor reception (sometimes none) from the very small 'flat screen' televisions. The rooms are somewhat small compared to other hotels - especially the bathrooms. If the hotel is at full capacity this affects the ability to get hot water from the tap or shower - especially in the morning, this is a basic requirement I believe for a hotel guest to expect. The hotel staff and management team are very unresponsive to feedback, and we noticed that other guests were also making complaints during our stay. We are regular visitors to the area, but we will never stay at this hotel ever again.

« Lovely bed, cracking view & no noisy hens or stags »

Booked weds till Friday on b & b, I had contacted the hotel to upgrade our room previously but when we checked in we couldn't have the exact room I wanted but what we did have was an amazing view of the lights & the sea. Right 1st nite I'm a short in the leg gent but I found getting into the bath for a shower quite a problem to the point I even slipped getting in, but to me it wasn't too bad but as the hotel had a large amount of elderly customers there I did fear for their safety if they had a bath as high as ours. Breakfast in the morning was usual buffet type & was quite good, quite enjoyed the sausages, as this was my 1st time in a bw hotel I will be booking these again rather than the other " good night guaranteed " hotels. Lastly to the bed !!! Well I wish I could have brought it home with me & meant to ask what mattress they used, best sleep iv had for a long long time thank you

    « Give it a try! »

Went last weekend to meet friends. Car park not huge for the size of the hotel but free. The check in desk appears temporary as the renovations still not complete, though apparently will be soon. The public areas will be beautiful once finished I think. Our room was small but adequate, the bathroom needs work having areas of rust on radiator etc but we were told it had been updated. We went on a b&b dinner 1st night basis, the evening meal was very good, 2 courses. Wine fine, £9 for 2 glasses. Breakfast great, lovely and hot, plenty of choice. The only downside: the water went off both mornings, maybe the demands were too much as hotel full, bit odd I think for a largish hotel. Free wifi though again off for our first night. In comparison with some of the other local hotels I feel we fared well, Blackpool being as it is, the cheaper end will inevitably attract less welcome customers, as it was a group of middle aged men were coming in at 4 very loud obviously drunk then ordering room service with the ensuing noise. Not ideal in a confined corridor but not a complete surprise. If I came to Blackpool again I'd stay at the Carlton in a heartbeat. Good location, near enough for the team stop and attractions North side, far enough away not to be walked past by too many holidaymakers..

Hotel was undergoing some cosmetic improvements, but that didn't interupt our stay at all. Rooms were bright & clean and the breakfast was plentiful for all tastes and diets. Great location on the sea front close to town and amenities. Happy to return anytime

    « Worse stay in a hotel »

When we arrived at the Carlton we checked in and noticed they were having extensive work being carried out We asked about room service and was told all would be ok Phone in room was not working with no apology then when we tried to order room service we had to go down to reception We again told the reception about the phone and the only explanation given was we are doing work here When we went to breakfast they had mistakenly ticked off our room Instead of saying take a seat and will get this sorted later we were left standing to look like fools and when the mistake was noticed by another colleague and his reply was I will let you sit down now When we went to pay for our stay we mentioned our concerns and was told the phone was not working due to storms (2reasons for the phone not working) the bar area is left looking like a storage room when we did manage to get served it was like an inconvenience to the team We will be making an official complaint I have been in the hotel industry for over 35 years and our guests are our main focus

    « Night Out »

Nice hotel in a great location. Staff were very friendly and very helpful. Room was very nice with a sea view with all the 'little extras'. Breakfast was plentiful with wide variety of choice. Nice large car park and a Tram stop right opposite the hotel which was only £5 for a 24hr hop on/off ticket.

    « 5*** service start to finish »

We arrived to the best western hotel at 9pm on Saturday night to ask if there was any rooms left & the answer was no until a manager suggested we look at a room on the 3rd floor that was empty due to the door not been able to lock.. We followed on up and the room was very nice & clean and the manager said we could have the room at a BIG discount if we was ok with the door not locking we agreed. We then went out and came back at 2am as we got in our room we managed to make a makeshift door lock " A Chair " haha! View the pic's it all added to the fun and was one of the best weekends we have had in Blackpool! Would recommend this hotel the staff could not do enough for us ! Thanks

    « Unaccommodating and Rude »

We only had one night here and we must admit I am glad we did. On arrival there was some works underway which didn't phase us but I found the gentleman on reception to be rude and unhelpful. I was asked to fill in a form and then immediately asked for my payment card. I explained that as I was filling in the form I would happily give my card over as soon as I could. It was like they were scared I would run away without paying. The room was adequate however there seemed to be a lot of patching up. The carpet looked brand new but the bathroom and everything else looked in need of an overhaul. It was only for one night so we let it be. The following day we got up early to enjoy a few more hours in Blackpool before driving home. I went back into reception and was met with the same gentleman who had checked us in. Checkout was not until 10:30am, so when I handed over my key card at 8:45 I asked if I could leave my car in the car park until 10:30 in order to enjoy Blackpool a little longer. To this he replied "you can stay up to one hour only". He was very rude and abrupt and I got the impression that their policy was "we've had your money now go away." Surely if check out is not until 10:30 I could leave the car in the car park until that time?! Like I said I got the impression that once the money was handed over they didn't want to know. We go to Blackpool a couple of times for nostalgic reasons but I will definitely not stay here again.

Stayed three nights very pleasant all services functioning well .will get better when decorating is finished.A hidden gem was the evening dinner where they have a chef who knows how to cook vegatables. Try it very good value for the price.

« Enjoyable despite the ongoing redecoration. »

It is difficult to write an accurate review with the hotel currently undergoing upgrading and redecoration (this we knew before booking) but our room had been recently redecorated to a very good standard and the large mural of Blackpool above the bedhead was certainly striking and the older black and white photos of the resort in the fifties was a nice touch. We found both breakfast and evening meals were enjoyable and the staff very friendly we will certainly return.

« one night on a buy a gift voucher »

Stayed for one night in September Rooms were spacious with tv coffee making facilities etc beds comfortable and everywhere very clean, Hotel is undertaking some refurbishment and should be amazing when finished this does not detract from the present where everywhere is clean and looks freshly painted. The lounge where all meals are served overlook's the seafront and carpark (which is a big saving ) local carpark's charging £13.50 for 24 hours Snack's sandwiches etc can be order from the bar and eaten in the lounge while watching the world go by, The hotel is situated just above the north peir so is about a 15 minute walk to the tower ,however there is a tram stop outside the hotel for the less mobile Breakfast is served 7am to 0930 which may be a bit early for some people. It is on a self service basis with all the usual fare of an English hotel. All in all a very enjoyable stay and would recommend

    « Great position, large hotel . »

Menu did not change throughout my 4 nights' stay. The hotel was very under staffed and my single room was small and very basic with very thin walls. The bathroom was adequate but with minimum toiletries provided. A bit of a refurb was going on and there is scope for much improvement if Blackpool actually warrants this. I was disturbed one night by a baby crying for over 1 hour in the next room and then the arrival of a group of young men possibly back from a stag do - oh dear, so not much sleep that night.

    3
« Not the best Best Western we have stayed in - but not a bad price! »

We had booked a superior double room with a seaview. We were given a triple room on the first floor - so the room and bathroom were quite large, but also quite basic. There was a lift but, having a problem with my knees, I found the steep steps in the corridor quite difficult to negotiate. The bath was also very deep. It was very difficult (and slippery) to get into the bath to use the shower - even with the bath mat. The hair dryer and fan mentioned in the room's documentation were not there. Having said that, the hotel was undergoing some renovations - but I'm not sure this included any more than the reception and restaurant areas. The restaurant looks out over the water which is very nice. We only ate breakfast there. This was buffet style, but quite well presented - and plentiful. The bar definitely lacked atmosphere and there was no-one in it during our stay. There is a tram stop and a bus stop directly opposite the hotel. Parking is directly in-front of the hotel.

« There are worse hotels in Blackpool, there are better Best Westerns in the UK »

The hotel was undergoing a refurb when we stayed, this did not cause us any inconvenience. I had an adequate single room for over a week, this was at the back of the hotel, I would have thought that you would give long stayers a seaview but apparently this is not policy. Staff are polite and helpful. Hotel is relatively up together and tidy, many areas have been refurbed and I an sure the remaining areas that have not been, will be. Located reasonably close to the centre, ample parking and a well stocked temporary bar. Compared to many of the hotels I have used in Blackpool this is excellent. However I have stayed in many much nicer Best Westerns.

    « A few little hiccups »

Stayed bank holiday Monday and the Tuesday. The room was spotless and the staff who do the rooms were helpful. We didn't have breakfast as we found it a little early for us finishing at 09.00. We liked the conservatory bar but on our second night they closed it before 2200hrs. Don't mind the bar closing but we were told to go to the main lounge bar to sit and that was annoying as we were having a lovely comfortable evening after having dinner at the hotel. We went into the bar and found children running around and A tv running in the back ground. There was no ambiance as there was in the conservatory and as we were there to relax it was certainly not a nice way to finish our evening. Dinner on both evenings was ok but the chef needs to give you actually what is on the menu. It was the little things that let the dinning experience down, no vegetables as stated, a egg on the meet that was like rubber ( they did bring another egg) asked on both nights for a jug of iced water more than twice. ( They have water glasses on the table so you would have thought it was automatic. We had finished our meal on the first night by the time the water came.) Didn't use the pool but it looked nice. It is an old building and some renavation is needed around the hotel, including new windows as could imagine it being a bit windy in the winter. These few moans did not detract from enjoying our stay. It is near to everything and we had a lovely view of the lake. The staff are friendly and service with a smile. There is plenty of places to eat nearby and everything is on the flat. Would I stay here again ? Probably if the price was right.

Stayed at this hotel in August 2016, booked 2 rooms, lovely and clean, polite staff, great food, only qualms I had were the price, £340 for 4 nights for 1 adult and 1 child is quite steep,as we didnt get breakfast included. also booked 2 rooms but our rooms were far apart, one was at one end of the hotel and the other at the other end, also the car park was always full, so I could only park for 1 day out of the 4 we stayed, other than that, I would def stay again.

    « No complaints »

My husband and I stayed for one night, our room with ensuite was clean and comfortable. We were room only so can't comment on the food but the bar and dining area looked nice, the hotel is being refurbished and looks as though it will be really nice once finished. The staff were very helpful and allowed us to park our car a couple of hours before we were due to check in. Will definitely stay there again and recommend.

« Not worth the money »

A one night stay in this hotel cost me £160. I had booked this hotel because it was near the finish of a 5 k race I was running. After the race I returned to the hotel for a shower. There was no hot water so I couldn't have one. No one was interested. I was promised a call when I got home but I didn't get it. The duty manager told me not to bother contacting Best Western because they wouldn't be interested. She was right about that. There are better hotels in Blackpool than this and much cheaper

Only booked for one night as we were going to a show,my sister and I.Very pleased having no trouble to find an empty disabled parking space right next to the main enterance. The lobby looked all fresh and modern and clean. Was seen to promptly and given our room details. Was smallfor a twin room ,but never the less had lovely decore and was clean.Ibooked a Sea view room and thats what we got.We left the car in its place and caught a taxi ,they are just outside the hotel,as is a bus stop and a tram stop.Very conveniant transport.Came back after the show and requested a fan and some more milk,no problem, they delivered straight away to our room.Had a great nights sleep, not much noise at all outside. The breakfast was all set out buffet style, hot and well cooked.I have no complaints about this hotel. The staff well mannered ,friendly and efficient. As I have found in many Best Western hotels I have stayed in.Think this hotel is nearly f innished with a bright modern refurbishment.I would reccommend it to anyone, twin room 214 was lovely and had a Sea view. The North Prom is much quieter than further down.Worth paying a little extra for a Sea View upgrade.I look forward to going back.

We have stayed at this hotel for the past 3 times we have been to Blackpool and we find the place is very well run. the staff are very helpful and they run and good hotel. The hotel is being redecorated at present but this did not cause any disruption to our stay. See you next year.

« Classic hotel, a bit tired, but good service from staff »

Seafront hotel in Blackpool, just on the edge so fairly quiet. A little tired, it is an old building, but very comfortable room. Restaurant is very nice, good service and food was nice, when we stayed it rained and the restaurant was 'leaking' so lots of buckets on the floor catching water. I believe this has now been repaired.

    « great hotel »

Stayed here for one night so we booked a sea view room. On arrival at reception we got the chance to upgade to the directors room for an extra £10. Its a lovely large room with large windows overlooking the sea with a free standing bath in the bedroom. There is also a small ensuite with a shower if you like your privacy. The bed was comfy and 2 plump, soft pillows. We would have had a great sleep if it wasn't so rainy and windy! The staff here are very friendly and helpful, they were more than happy to help. We had an evening meal in the restaurant, sat by the window overlooking the sea, the food is lovely and very reasonably priced. I think we had 2 courses for £11. Well worth it. The breakfast is help yourself buffet style which we like. There is plenty of choice, we loved the sausages and the bacon. The hotel is undergoing refurbishment at the moment but really didn't affect us in any way. My one and only critism is the ensuite floor needs a good clean in the corners on the floor. I'm a cleaner myself so notice these things! Would we stay here again? YES!! Next year we will be back!!

    « Disasterous stay. »

Booked to stay in this hotel for two days for a much needed short break. Hotel is currently undergoing refurbishment which was obvious on arrival as reception was in some disarray and there was a strong smell of paint. The receptionist was very pleasant and asked if we would like an upgrade to lovely room with a sea view for an additional fee. We were happy to do this and were very pleased with the room we were shown to. Problems began the following morning when we woke to find no electricity, no water (toilet would not flush) and in the breakfast room luke warm flasks of water to make tea/coffee and some bread and cereal. A member of staff was transporting guests to a nearby hotel for breakfast and then collecting them afterwards, we took up this offer as we were desperate for a hot cup of tea and some food but felt a little uncomfortable not having had the chance to shower and wash hair etc. On returning to the hotel we were told that all guests would be phoned as soon as the situation with the electrics had been clarified. We went out for the day planning to come back early for a shower and change before going to dinner and a show which we had booked. There was no phone call so at 3pm we decided to go back to the hotel to make sure the electrics were back on as I was concerned we may need to move to another hotel. On arrival back at the hotel the electric was back on and we were very relieved, I immediately decided to have a shower and then take the chance to relax for a little while before going out but the water was cold. I left it for an hour hoping it would warm up but it was still cold. My husband went to speak the the manager who advised he would go and see what the problem was and then he would come up to our room and let us know.. 20 minutes later nothing so again my husband went down to reception where he talked to a different manager who advised it would be another 2 hours at least before there would be hot water. She offered to find us a room in another hotel which we agreed to. We then waited in reception for another 10 minutes before heading to the other hotel. At the alternative hotel we waited another 10 minutes before things were sorted out and we were able to get to the room. Thinking things could not get any worse we found the room was horrible, it was well warn, not very clean, no view except roofs and the noise of fans. The room was not up to the standard we expected. I was very upset by this time and having had the opportunity to shower phoned the Carleton back to see if we could return to our old room given the poor standard of the current room and was told it had already been booked out. No refund was offered for the inconvenience we suffered and the money taken for the sea view was not refunded however I intend to pursue this. All in all our break was very disappointing and rather than being relaxing it was extremely stressful.

« Okay, but not great »

We booked The Best Western Carlton as a last minute add-on to a few days in Blackpool. I have to say, although the hotel was clean and comfortable, the website is slightly misleading (picture-wise) and there is some construction/decorating work going on which we were not told about at the time of booking, which we felt was a little unfair. Check-in was quick and painless. The room was clean and tidy and of a good size. The bathroom was very clean but needed updating from the 1980s! Breakfast was tasty with a decent number of choices. The dining area was bright and clean, but there was banging, and general construction noise (0930 on a Saturday morning) which was a little annoying. Overall the hotel was okay, but for what we got it was overpriced and in need of some TLC. I'm not sure I would stay again. (The full skip right outside the front door doesn't help!!)

    « Nice seaside hotel »

Very friendly staff, decent rooms, nice B&B area. Was having some work done while I was there so I guess it'll be even better soon! If you're not high maintenance, this is a nice place to stay and easy walking distance from the centre.

    « Does the job! »

My husband and I stayed here last night as we came up from London for a visit. The room was a little on the small side but modern. Bed was comfortable shame that we had no view out of our window. Bathroom was ok very dated compared to the room itself and needed attention. Plenty of drink making options. Pleased to have a fan to keep us cool. Staff were very imformative. Slightly over priced for what we got but did the job for what we needed it for. (Baring in mind we paid a discounted rate from Booking.com)

    « Impressed with Hotel »

My husband and I stayed here Monday August 15th to Friday August 19th. We would definitely stay at this hotel again and would recommend it. Our room was adequate sized and the en suite bathroom had plenty of space too. We definitely enjoyed the buffet breakfast such excellent value, along with hard working staff during breakfast time. Clearing plates frequently and keeping tables clear and cleaned. So well done to their hard work. The location was perfect for us as walking along the seafront in beautiful weather wasn't a problem at all. Taking us about 30 minutes at a brisk stroll. Yes it's being refurbished, but it didn't effect our stay at all. We will definitely stay at this hotel again. Another beauty is that its away from the Stag and Hen parties. So you avoid all that for definite. We'll look forward to staying here again when refurbishment is complete. Thank you for our lovely stay.

    « A year round hotel »

I stayed at the Carlton hotel on weekdays from August 2015 through to July 2016 so have gotten to know the hotel well. As most people have pointed out the hotel is undergoing refurbishment, however this has not detracted meaningfully from the service and this is solely down to the fantastic team at the Carlton. The staff all have a real desire to please and always went the extra mile, even when not required to do so. As with any place there can always be problems, however when they occurred it was ensured that i was not disadvantaged and everybody went out of their way to ensure this. The refurbishment is showing to be a real success and has transformed the hotel from just another hotel on the front, to a very comfortable and good looking hotel. Housekeeping have been amazing keeping on top of this and ensuring the hotel looks spick and span. Of all the rooms i stayed in i could never say anything bad about housekeeping who always made sure my room was impeccable for my arrival, and each subsequent day. As a note the WiFi is really good and i had very few problems when using Skype or facetime in my room, even downloading (a few too many) apps and albums while there The hotel is quiet and would be great for couples, families and groups of friends (however of you are having a hen or stag party stay in South Pier) and being one of the only hotels to have a decent car park is a real bonus! The restaurant is really good and even though i was there 52 weeks, i kept on returning at least once a week and always would be able to find something mouthwatering - any by the end of my stay all the staff knew my favorites! The refurb and the staff have combined to make this one of the best hotels in Blackpool and I would wholeheartedly recommend this hotel which I will return to. Some special mentions to Andy and Danny, you were both great and showed some real compassion when i had family illnesses during my time there and a mention to Neha for putting up with my moaning on the very few occasions when something was not right. If you stay here you will not be disappointed! Like the terminator "I'll be back" Alex

Ok so they were having some work done didn't spoil our trip nice hotel great service staff very helpful and polite they was a slight mix up of our room which they sorted straight away I needed a fan as I get to hot at night they provided us with one no hassle now breakfast was spot on its a buffet style so you help yourself to what you want

    « Nice Hotel »

This hotel was being refurbished and its being done to a modern decor. One of the Managers was happy to show us the work that was being done. The breakfast was good and the staff where helpful. The only downside was the size of our room it was really small and the bathroom was very small .l think it was a single room with a double bed in it. It was spotles and well decorated.

Staff where friendly and polite and would go the extra mile for you location is a bit out but cheap.on the tram not a issue. Reception getting which we knew about as we informed by the hotel. Bedroom was in need of a make over. Cleanness was not good bathroom had dirt and moldy shower curtain rail in bedroom dust on top of mirror in other easy clean to places. Beds could not fault. Be careful book throw hotel.com as booked as a family room for 4 people and when arrived where told a family room was for 3 people another bed was in put in room immediate so this was a issue. Hotel.com fault. Did not try food menu looked good.

    « AWFUL BEDS! Won't be returning. »

Me and my partner spent 3 nights in this hotel and were extremely disappointed. As soon as we pulled in it became apparent that there is a major refurbishment taking place. We were not informed about this when we booked or before we arrived. We definitely wouldn't have stayed if we had known. The makeshift reception area was tatty and not a good first impression. The refurbishment work had a very negative effect on our stay. Breakfast was accompanied by the sound of work men using power tools in the near by area. Very loud and unpleasant. We ended up firstly being offered a room overlooking the air vents. We swapped rooms but even then, we ended up in one on the back of the hotel adjacent to the main road . This room was very noisy because of traffic and no sea view. Furthermore, the Windows were murky and dirty, so you could not see out of them at all. Our room telephone was broken. We told the hotel 4 times but to no avail. This Meant we couldn't order room service or have a point of call in case of emergency. We were told on check out that this was to do with the refurbishment works. When we first went into the room we thought there was a funny smell in the room. We looked in storage places and under the bed but found nothing. It wasn't until we were leaving that I pulled back the mattress protector to reveal the most horrifically stained mattress I've ever seen. It was utterly disgusting! There were dirty brown circular stains the length of the bed on both sides!! Made us feel extremely uncomfortable knowing we had slept on that bed! When we came to check out I showed the receptionist photographs of the stained mattress and told him about the other issues. We were given a refund for the meal we had purchased from the hotel. However, we still paid £250 for the stay in that room. We are appalled and extremely disappointed! I Would not recommend this hotel to anyone and wish I had had the confidence to ask for a full refund.

    « 2 NIGHT STAY FOR OUR 30TH ANNIVERSARY »

My Husband and myself decided to stay in Blackpool on our 30th Anniversary as we had our Honeymoon there many hears ago!!. We chose the Best Western Carlton as we have stayed here before. All I can say is what a Lovely time we had, Hotel in a really good place, tram stop just outside if we wanted to go into town. When we were checking in, we mentioned why we were there and they couldnt do enough for us. As a lovely gesture, they upgraded us to a Beautiful Sea view room. The room was massive, had a bath inside the bedroom and also had a walk in shower. Very clean and modern. We would of easily paid the extra for this room as it was well worth it. This room would be lovely for couples on Honeymoon as it is very special. The Breakfast was in with the price, well worth it. A really good choice, had everything ie. hot breakfast, cold buffet, juices etc. The staff are really efficient and very helpful and very good at their jobs. A really special mention to KNEEHA, the Reception Manager who gave us our room. She is Excellent at her job and made our stay a Fantastic one and one we will remember. Cant wait to go back here and would recommend this Hotel to anyone. Thank You Kneeha and Carlton for making our stay a lovely one from Jan and Gary, Liverpool.

« over night for airshow »

The Carlton is being revamped at present. this did not cause any problems at all. Reception is entered from the rear of the building at present. Check in was smooth and freindly. Our room clean bright and fresh looking. cosy bar at reception. well priced for area. Just over a 5 minute stroll to the Tower. opposite the hotel there is a tram stop and a taxi rank to the side opposite the carpark entrance.

    « Oh dear.... »

The hotel was in the process of being renovated and whilst we were not disturbed, I certainly think that a reduction should have been made. This has been a wonderful hotel in its day. The bed was comfy and the linen pleasant however the 'renovation' has not harnessed the original beauty..... With no pool. No bar, no entertainment, the only saving grace is the sea view from the dining room. The staff are pleasant and gracious but I'm sad to say this was not good value for money in my opinion.

« Short stay but Good hotel! »

My missus and I chose this hotel because it was perfect location and had parking. Good price too! We arrived and the room was small but we'll laid out. Had all I could ask for a short stay. Bed was very comfortable and the next morning I do recommend the breakfast as it was lovely to have a nice meal which was a buffet hot breakfast (full English) but also continental breakfast too. I would stay here again as staff are kind and helpful Only downside I saw which wasn't a downside really as they had workmen on site at front as they were giving it a revamp in looks on inside and isn't really a bad thing really as good for future hotel goers.

    « Great hotel »

I read a few reviews where people complained that the hotel was being refurbished, so was a little hesitant, however on arriving at the hotel they were very well organised and extremely friendly! Parking was difficult as some people who weren't residents were parked on site. It was a fast check in, and they showed us to the lift. We were in room 212 which overlooked the sea front (£10 surcharge). It was very clean, very airy and spacious and looked as if it had been recently refurbed. The bathroom was clean but hadn't been updated, however it had a bath and shower which we were happy with. The buffet breakfast was of excellent quality and plenty to choose from, the restaurant was very clean and well organised. Again the staff were very helpful and friendly. There is a tram stop right outside the front which is very handy if you don't want to walk to far, which is very reasonable and the ticket you can use for both the tram and buses. I really cant fault the hotel, except if I want to be very picky, they could do with new windows and regular cleaning. Any trips I have to Blackpool I will definitely book here every time.

« Not told of refurb when booking »

Just got back from a 2 night stay at this Hotel. Not notified of renovation work when booking. Temporary reception and bar to rear of Hotel, through fire door. Receptionist friendly but no atmosphere at all in Hotel. The work that was going on was not sectioned off, just had old pieces of fabric hanging up at doors. Carpet in lift area dirty from builders walking through. Also not notified that the back ground noise at breakfast would be drill, hammers etc. Booked 2 rooms, Room 1 was billed as a Superior-Twin Room and Room 2 Standard - Family Room. The single room was a big let down as we couldn't see what was Superior about it. It was very small, with a sloping roof on one side which wasn't suitable for my 6ft grandson. We asked at reception what was Superior about it, and she said the sea view. Room had a small window that could only be seen through if standing| The bed linen was clean, and the towels whilst slightly off white were acceptable. Bathroom in Family room, clean but looked tired. Must admit didn't look at one in Superior Twin. On the plus side, bedroom window in Family room would't shut and after reporting it, it was fixed quickly. It is possible that we may give hotel another chance when work is complete as the location and parking where very convenient, with a tram stop across the way, so we could park up for stay

« Clean friendly comfortable hotel »

A warm welcome awaits you at this Clean, friendly hotel. In the midst of a refurb. A definite return to hotel. If we ever come to Blackpool again we would definitely book this hotel again. Sea view is amazing. Comfortable bed and as much breakfast as you can manage although this is self service.

    « Too expensive »

The actual room space was great with a super comfy bed. But the bathroom was awful!! Everything looked unclean, undefeated, and not maintained meaning I felt the need to put shoes on to go to the loo. The hotel seems as though it is under (much needed) renovation, which isn't shown prior to booking. The bar area and breakfast area is unwelcoming. However, all staff were really nice! We paid £145 for just one night, which I think is far too much money for something so low standard. Definitely wouldn't stay here again unless pricing was seriously reconsidered.

« refurb going on beware »

Stayed in hotel in three rooms with family last week. It was obvious from pulling into the car park that refurb was on-going which I was not advised about. There was a skip full of carpet, building materials, reception closed and you had to walk round side and through fire exit to meet make shift reception. This was same all week we were there. Not the best first impressions. They have make shift reception, make shift directional signage which looked shabby the make shift bar was also in the same room which again not the best. I felt for the conditions, reception and bar that the cost of the room and prices of the bar were over priced. I was welcomed by a lady who advised me my triple room was actually now a double and single as dont have a triple with three beds even though that is what I booked and my sister and family (two teenage girls 15 and 14) were first to stay in room. They had a standalone bath in room which was not ideal for a family sharing unless they add a curtain, would be better as couples room only, fortunately they had a bathroom with shower so they could get washed in private. The hotel did offer another bedroom for one of the girls but we declined. The lounge again looked unfinished and was bare and it was clear building work was going on as mis-matching curtains hung to hide certain areas. Windows were dirty so not great to look out. No pictures, flowers etc all bare, lights were far too bright to create any kind of ambience and did not find the lounge area relaxing in any shape of form. Cafe like. I asked night porter on both nights to dim lights which he did but to be honest should have been obvious. some candles on the tables at night would make such a difference and music. Carpets on stairways need cleaned, marked and shabby, skirtings etc not the cleanest just looked like everywhere needed good clean. Had to ask every morning and wait for table to be made up for five of us which considering rest of hotel wasn't surprising but they should have expected us and had bigger table made up.Breakfast was buffet and ok. Just expected better and cheaper offers on drinks to compensate for the poor finish on hotel. Check on refurb before staying so you wont be disappointed. Do not think we would stay again

« Excellent stay in Blackpool »

I had to book at less than 12 hours notice due to a booking error elsewhere. I haven't stayed in any Best Western Hotels prior to this but would definitely us them again after our two night, Thursday to Saturday stay in at the Blackpool Hotel. I also should mention the hotel is currently having a refit/upgrade, this however made no difference or spoiled our stay. We arrived slightly earlier than the 2pm check-in time and relaxed in the lounge area, which is bright and airy offering sea views. After check in at the temporary reception desk with very helpful staff we found our family room which was excellent, the bed being very comfortable & everything else was spot on. Breakfast was excellent & the staff helpful & couteous throughout. All in all a great hotel which can only improve upon completion of the renovations. I also should give a special mention to staff member "Ash" who sorted out a perking issue I had with the car-parking helpfully and with a smile.

    « Worth a Visit »

Visited Best Western Carlton for one night. Given a free room upgrade. Delighted with room. Double bed and two singles. Lovely bedding. Beds extremely comfortable and we slept well. Room very clean. Plenty of toiletries, mugs, milks etc. Yes parts of it need refurbishing but the hotel is sorting this out. Breakfast was fine. Plenty available and topped up often by staff. Staff were efficient and friendly. Would visit again.

« Very clean room, friendly staff »

We paid £20 more to upgrade to a sea view room. This made our two night B&B stay for two people in a twin room £250 which is expensive for Blackpool. Our room was spotless, very clean and beds comfy. However the room was small. Sufficient for two nights probably not for longer periods. Breakfast was OK. Buffet style. However no choice re bread, just sliced loaf for toast. Eggs on both mornings were overcooked and dry. Hotel is currently undergoing redurbishment which we were not informed prior to our visit. However this did not really affect us during our weekend. The staff were friendly and pleasant. The hotel is well situated rigt on the sea front. Sea view rooms, wlthough most are small are ok. Those situated at the back dont have a very attractive outlook. So, to conclude room very clean, beds comfy, good location. Breakfast acceptable. However, the room was bery small, breakfast not that great (although ok). But not great value. £250 fo two nights B&B is expensive fo Blackpool. We usually stay at the Hilton when we visit but on this occasion it was full. Almost the same price as here but rooms there are bigger, more modern, and breakfast significantly better. Also they have a pool though you do pay for wifi and car parking.

« Is tired but being refurbished »

First of all, my view here is slightly skewed as the restaurant is being refurbished. It was disappointing that I was not told this at the point of booking as is quite major. To enter the hotel you have to go through the fire exit round the back and then reception is set up on a table, as is the bar area. The hotel itself is in a good location, just a ten minute walk from the pier, tower and pleasure beach. The room itself was tiny and in what was the hottest day of the year was like an oven as there is no Air Conditioning here. There were two fans left in the room for me but no bottled water. It was extremely uncomfortable due to the size of the room and the heat. I had lunch here as well which I must say was a complete rip-off. Only sandwiches were available due to the refurbishments but to be charged £5.50 for a sandwich with grated cheese which had nothing special about it is horrendous. The room was clean and tidy but the TV did not work All I will say is that it would be unfair to judge this hotel purely on this visit but if you are planning on staying here in 2016, check the refurbishment has been completed first.

    « Hotel stay »

This was a lovely clean hotel. Although renovation work was being done, it in no way interfered with our stay. Staff were pleasant and very helpful. The staff were very quick to clear tables , clean and reset them at meal times. Breakfast was buffet style, but again staff were there immediately anything was getting low to put more food out. Very well run. Totally impressed. And I would definitely stay again and recommend to family and friends. Also tram stop outside front of the hotel, taxi rank on other side of road, buses also at front of hotel.

    « Comfortable »

Despite the renovations we had a comfortable stay. Our mistaken double room booking was soon rectified with two singles, good nights sleep, nice breakfast close to North Pier. Plenty of parking and free wi fi.

« Reunion weekend lads gathering »

Good quality accommodation, reasonable rates although my booking didn't invidious breakfast. Building work going on by did not impact on my stay. Breakfast was buffet style and was £7.50 per person. There was a temporary bar in the TV area.

    « Overall good stay »

Stayed here again following previous stay a couple of years ago Hotel currently undergoing full refurbishment communal areas being completed over the next few weeks We had a nice welcome and were allowed to check in a bit early which was lovely Room was at back of hotel very small double but newly refurbished and was nice standard shower room still a little tired but clean A few hairs on mattress protector but glad it had one on and pillows too Bed was extremely comfortable Strange mould on window in between panes of glass needs sorting We had good deal room only and for one night was good value Breakfast if wanted was £6.95 each on top which is still fair value Once completed hotel will be lovely and fresh Has free carpark too which helps Would stay again Any price between £39 - £80 per night depending on season would be good value

    « Nonresident diner »

Just popped into this hotel for a meal whilst staying nearby , excellent meal served by very friendly professional staff, wasn't expensive and very pleasant surroundings would definitely recommend this hotel for anyone looking for a nice place to eat

    « Beware the builders »

Would not have booked if we had known the builders were in, sea view room was too small for two people rather cramped, but clean and tidy, window very small from what we are used to, serve yourself breakfast was above average with plenty of choice for traditional fry up to the healthy options, staff seemed a little unfriendly in the dining area but reception was quite cheery, free car parking is a bonus, with handy tram stop outside for trips onto the prom etc, average hotel for the price, but nothing special, dont think we,ll use again though.

    « Poor »

Room was not refreshed. Bed not made and no cleaning service on room.... Shame about refurbishments.... Weird that the bathroom was as big as the Bedroom and had to sleep in a single bed. Im 6.2 and 17st I'm not small and yet for a room that massive I had to sleep in a tiny bed. Also after finishing work at 5am the cleaners woke me up by walking into my room at 10.... When check out is 10.30. Could do better.....

    3
    « Average hotel »

Not the best start to a mini trip as the builders were in and taking up lots of space in the car park. In arrival at 13.30 we were told we couldn't check in as we were too early. So we went off for another 1/2 hr. On return I was asked to pay for our 2 nights not on leaving? I was doing the transaction when another staff member was asking me to sign a paper and telling me about the breakfasts and evenings meals making me go wrong on the payment and this had to be void and completed again. I thought this was very rude. There was no dining room or bar as this was being 're decorated. We were not told this prior it on check in nothing in the web site so a bit disappointing. In a nicer more the room was clean and newly painted. Was an ok mini break. Not the "best" for best western.

    « Good Location »

Stayed for 4 nights. Had a lovely fresh and spotlessly clean room overlooking the Irish Sea. The breakfast was a buffet style with plenty of choice. The staff were friendly and very helpful. The hotel is being refurbished which can be noisy from around 8 in the morning. The workmen also take up a good few parking spaces. We did have dinner one evening, the starter and dessert were lovely but the main (steak pie) was a disappointment. The hotel is well situated past the North pier with both a bus and tram stop outside the hotel. I would like to come back to the hotel once all the work is completed to see the final result.

    3
« Nice staff, average rooms, shame about some guests »

Just had a 4 night stay here. We paid for room only.£65 for a twin. Pleasant friendly staff. Warm welcome. Free parking at the front of the hotel if you can get a space. The hotel was being refurbished which I wasn't aware of until arriving. It wasn't too noisy but the dust did affect the cars outside. The restaurant which is open to residents and served nice food. 2 courses for £10.95. Variety of choice.it over looks the sea.. We didn't have breakfast.- too early The hotel does provide room service most of the day/night which we did use. £3.50 charge. Clean rooms. Unfortunately, a large hen party booked in on the Saturday night. They were very noisy and constantly banged the doors. Apparently, they don't usually book hen parties in. Yeah right ??? If you are charging items to your room, check your bill thoroughly. I had an item on my bill that wasn't mine It was rectified eventually

« Shame about the refurbishments »

I stayed here just the one night, had no idea it was being refurbished, it would of been a good idea to announce this on the website! Apart from that a very pleasant clean hotel and breakfast was nice too, will book again if in the area but will check in advance to see if any more building work is taking place

    3
    « Basic and bland »

One night was enough here. Slamming doors, building work and radiators that bang. Terrible. Like being in someone's spare room, unacceptable levels of noise that could be helped with sound proofing, better doors etc. Would not recommend.

    4
« Its the staff that make the difference »

I stayed here for an overnight stay at the weekend. I paid extra on arrival for a refurbished seafront room - and it was worth doing so. The room was spotlessly clean and you could not fault it in any way. But its the staff that went out of their way to be welcoming and attend to anything that was needed that really made this hotel worth visiting. I will return

    4
    « Perfect location »

When we arrived we were offered an upgrade to a standard seaside double room for a nominal amount, instead of the standard double room booked. Glad we did as the view was lovely to wake up to with the lovely weather we had. However the room was compact and minimalistic, had very little storage space, you had to watch you didn't bang your head on the eaves in the room, but the room was clean. WiFi offered free, was fast. The bathroom needed a bit of maintenance, the shower very old, washbasin and bath chipped in places and some mould outside bath in corner. The loo, which had a special flush to save water doesn't, as you have to flush twice instead of once! The staff are brilliant, helpful and friendly. The self service breakfast was lovely, but would have liked a choice of eggs, only fried were offered. However, despite the odd snags, we did enjoy our stay as location was perfect and the onsite parking was a big bonus.

    4
« Good for overnight stay »

Excellent check in service, very good choice of food for breakfast . Rooms very clean, a little on the small side but we did a late booking. Beds very comfortable with good class of linen. The hotel has its own car park, a big plus when visiting Blackpool. We had a great stay, visiting attractions and a comfy welcoming hotel, who could ask for more ?

« Amazing cosy comfortable stay. »

Me and a friend went to experience a weekend away in Blackpool. This hotel came up with everything we wanted and for the best price. After hearing all the stories that blackpool is a bit of a dump, we was a bit weary. However this hotel was amazing. We had a twin room with an en suite. The room had a sea view, which was lovely. The hotel staff were all so polite and kind, ready to help with anything and gave us an amazing customer experience. As for the breakfast buffet.... After a night out on the town this was the perfect thing to wake up to, the food was absolutely amazing. Everything appeared very clean and tasted wonderful. The location of the hotel it's self is very convent its right outside a tram stop (pleasant street) that will take you up the peir. As for Blackpool sea front I found it really lovely, with a fantastic night life.

« A first class meal and experience »

Staying at the Carlton for the third or fourth time, we were not disappointed. A genuinely friendly reception, a really comfortable room, with a sea view, and one of the best evening meals we have had for ages. I had Parma Ham with asparagus, with hollandaise sauce, ..delicious, and my wife's starter was mushrooms in cream sauce..equally tasty. I demanded a share! We both had the chef's speciality, a chicken ticka masala, which was obviously made by a really caring chef. Finally, we both had tiramisu. Gorgeous. Our breakfast maintained the same high standard. We were very impressed by the personal attention of the restaurant manager, and particularly by his choice of background music. I usually hate this stuff, but he had selected music that was unobtrusive melodic and altogether something that increase our dining pleasure ,A rarity indeed, as background music usually ruins the experience. Good car parking, and a handy location. The price of the stay was extremely reasonable and we will certainly stay there again .

    « Base for meeting »

The hotel is having a rebuild around the reception area which when complete will provide a more excellent facility of bar area etc.Roomhas been refurbished recently with excellent facilities. The wi-fi system is also very good with quick connection.Food provided at breakfast was great as well.

    « Overnight stay »

Hotel was a bit like a construction site when we visited. Overall it wasnt too bad. Great cheap price, room was a very funny shape and a bit on the small size due to corner location I think. Shower taps take a bit of getting used to, ok just for a bed for the night

    4
« Excellent location but refurbishment in progress »

Have used this hotel for several years as it is only 15mins walk to Winter Garden for work. It's worth upgrading to sea view room as there are amazing uninterrupted views over the sea. Public rooms on ground floor are part way through a much needed refurbishment as looking rather tired and dated.Staff are really friendly and helpful.

    3
    « Weekend Away »

We found the hotel to be in a handy location for the promenade and trams. The car parking was available which was important. There was a refurbishment going on and disappointed the hotel never told us. The room though was very nice and once the work is complete I think it will make a difference. Breakfast was nice and peaceful. We will visit again.

    5
« Would definitely visit again »

Lovely, clean & comfortable rooms (with sea views), close to local amenities. Staff were helpful and friendly, was some alterations being carried out to the hotel but this didn't affect our stay at all. Very good value for money and would definitely stay here again.

    « Short break »

Spent two nights here and I have to say I wasn't disappointed . Clean modern fresh room . Refreshments were replenished daily , ie tea , coffee and milk . Suitable car parking on the front of Hotel . Lift to all floors , large area for sitting and relaxing .small amount of refurbishing being carried out on ground floor .

    3
    « Work in progress? »

Expected a higher standard from Best Western franchise hotel..maybe a recent addition. Location is excellent and free car park a bonus. Hotel obviously being renovated but... En suite tiny and tiles in shower and above sink cracked and mold growing in grouting. Staff were very good and main room was fine, just a bit tired and unloved, marked carpets being noted. Bed was clean and comfortable. Breakfast not too inspiring...self help buffet with reasonable choice and acceptable quality. As it stands now I wont bother again soon but will consider when all the work has been done and the franchise gets a hold

    « One night stop »

This was our second visit to this hotel. It is well situated on the prom and has good car parking facilities and the staff are very friendly and helpful. It is carrying out some refurbishment which we had not been told about at time of booking but that did not cause us any bother. We were upgraded to a sea view room which was vey clean but rather small . The hot water supply was a bit hit and miss but the breakfast buffet was very good and the staff very attentative.

« Went for a long weekend. Fabulous hotel »

Our stay was superb. Our room was lovely with a sea view with a large en suite. Customer Service was first class. Meals were excellent. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff. The hotel has recently been refurbished and looks very nice. An excellent stay and we will go back there when next in Blackpool

    « Blackpool Best Western »

My brother and I booked into the Carlton on a recent trip to England. (We used Best Western because my brother travels a lot for his business and wanted the points.) We had fond memories of visiting Blackpool when we were kids forty years ago and wanted to revisit them. Well, you can't go back it seems. Blackpool has changed much over the years and is quite run down, but on the up side, the hotel was very nice. We booked a room with twin single beds, very comfy but a bit small. The hotel has been undergoing renovations so the room was recently upgraded, very clean and neat. The bathroom was clean with plenty of hot water, but the toilet did run a long time noisily refilling. The restaurant was open, though we did not eat here, and the bar was closed for renovations. The hotel has a lift, but the hotel seems to have been cobbled together from several smaller buildings so even using the lift, several sets of steps were encountered on the journey to our room. Makes caring luggage a bit of a hassle. If you have a lot of luggage or have trouble managing stairs, best to ask for a room near the lift. Parking is adequate and free. So, while Blackpool was a disappointment, the hotel was not.

« Great hotel in good location »

Stayed at this hotel for a weekend break. The hotel is currently being refurbished but this did not make any difference to our stay. All staff friendly and helpful. We had a sea view room which was spacious and clean with a good sized bathroom with shower over the bath. Breakfast buffet was very good as was the evening meal. The hotel is in a great location, ie quieter end of Blackpool. Would definitely return to this hotel if visiting Blackpool again.

My wife and I booked an evening in October last year to visit the illuminations. Upon arrival we were told we couldn't check in as we were early 15 mins or so. The receptionist recommended a drink in the bar. So we went for a drink after waiting 5 minutes or so I went back to reception to ask if anybody was serving only for the receptionist to say yes me! Anyway we managed to get a drink but were still asked to wait to check in. By this time several other guests had arrived and all be told to wait get a drink. Soon after 2pm check in time the receptionist started to call people through in no particular order. I returned to reception to ask when we would be seen as we had been waiting the longest and over 30 minutes. I was told someone would deal with me soon. After another 10 minutes or so the manager and assistant manager appeared and ushered my wife and I into a separate room. At this point we were told they did not have a room for us! Due to redecorating! We had only booked the room the day before! They then told us that they could book us into another hotel for the night and as a gesture of goodwill we would be given a free night bed breakfast and evening meal. So we have tried on several occasions to use this free night but after sending numerous emails and numerous more phone calls nobody ever gets back to us!

    « Overnight stay. »

Was a lovely over night stay. The room was perfect. Was bigger then we were expecting. Very clean and nicely decorated. Amazing wifi! Its abit far out from everything but that didn't bother me and my boyfriend. My selfish friend ended up taking up most of the double bed me and my boyfriend was meant to share so we ended up pushing the single bed up along to the double and nearly sharing a single bed! We will be returning again but wont be bringing my idiot of a 'best friend' with us next time!!!!!

    « Very nice stay »

Booked a single room for a single night stay at the Carlton, the rooms look like they have been recently refurbished although the en suite bathroom seems to have been forgotten in my room but other than that I had a good stay . Breakfast which was included was superb , staff were excellent, most helpful, good sized car park at the front of the hotel too . Yes I'd recommend staying here if your visiting Blackpool .

« Avoid if possible until renovations are complete! »

This was my daughters first trip to Blackpool and the hotel was so very under par. We would never stay there again and I am sorry but cannot recommend it to anyone. We decided not to have breakfast there due to the totally old and unfinished look of the hotel. Carpets need replacing and an overall spit and polish is desperately needed. What a shame!!!!

    « Overnight stay! »

Me and my Wife stayed here May 27th for 1 night, we usually stay at the South end of Blackpool but decided to stay close to the Tower due to watching a show in the evening in that area. We had a double room with sea view on the 3rd floor. The room was clean and comfy and we had a good nights sleep. The staff were friendly and helpful and breakfast was nice and plentiful. If we was stopping at that end of the promenade in the future we would stay at The Carlton.

    « Excellent hotel »

The single room was well equipped, clean and comfortable. Staff were welcoming and friendly. Nothing was too much trouble for them even for my special diet. The evening meal and breakfast were good and once the building work has been completed it should make any stay even better.

    « Comfort »

Love this hotel, rooms are being updated and I had a beautiful single room with en-suite bathroom that was light, airy and spacious. A bath is an important feature for me when away from home, so it was nice to have one. Bed was comfy, very clean and also quiet! Breakfast was self-service.

« Hotel OK but Blackpool not for us »

This was our first visit to Blackpool, and we came to the conclusion that attractive though it may be for some, it's not our sort of place. The Best Western hotel that we stayed at for one night was good value for money at £57.50 and booked easily on-line just the previous day. Though the sea view was enjoyable, arguments from rowdy locals on the promenade in the early hours were less so. The staff were helpful and courteous and the breakfast food adequate considering the price paid.

    « Pleasant »

booked a double room with a seaview at a great price. Hotel looks lovely from the outside, and much more superior to some of its neighbours. Plenty of parking, free of charge, staff extremely friendly and accomodating. Rooms pleasant and modern, fresh decor, plenty of tea, coffee, sugars, and lots of milk, toiletries in bathroom, and lovely towels. Due to the window. Shape and size it was difficult to arrange 2 seats to enjoy the view, overall lovely. Some ongoing work on the ground floor, but no noise whatsoever, lounge area looked slightly tired, but overall clean and a great stay, we did not eat here

    « Very good hotel »

Stayed here for couple of nights .Really good value we upgraded to a sea view room which had a large bay windows with an excellent view or the Irish sea. Hotel is a good location for all the Blackpool amenities .The only down side was the bar was being renovated but I'm sure once it's been completed it will be lovely .Will stay again

    « It's OK »

It is more upmarket (and very MUCH Pricier) than a Travelodge, in a good location, has free car parking and breakfast (£6.50) We were offered a Seaview room for a tenner, declined and found we had one anyway in a small, fairly well fitted double room. There is a £200 Fine for smoking in the hotel The car park is smallish but we found a place, two skips in the car park cos they must be doing some work. You can not tell which is good. I would only stay again if I wanted to be within walking distance of the town

    2
    « no sleep »

It was a shame that on the night we stayed the hotel had problem guests who were consistently noisy until after 2:00 am !!! The noise was actually very concerning with foul language every other word, the hotel I'm sure did there best to get the people ejected but the attitude of the staff the next morning was very very disappointing with a couldn't care less that we had only been able to get a few hours sleep. I have been assured by Best Western that the staff have had retraining so hopefully they have and our experience was unfortunate,

    « Comfy »

Stopped here for my (3rd...4th?) time. Nice and quiet whilst out of season and plenty of car parking. Hotel is going through some modernisation. Rooms vary greatly in size (always had sea view) but are clean, modern and comfy. Breakfast is a good effort with full English and continental. Service throughout has always been excellent.

    « Funeral stopover »

Comfy room, brilliant breakfast all round good only down side bottled beer sold in two different sizes for the same beer.but would still stay again as terrific value for money and worth the upgrade for a sea view.would recommend staying here.

« Lovely bank holiday weekend break »

Having booked here because of the free parking and the location, I was a little concerned by some of the negative reviews but I needn't have worried. We arrived early Saturday morning having set off at 7.20 in the morning. 2 hours later we were there. We parked up, informed the man who came to see us (later found out he was a waiter), and we left the car & went off to get some breakfast. We returned at 2 to check in. Yes it's undergoing some refurbishment but it didn't affect us. Our room was lovely although it was on the back. Very clean. Very comfortable bed. Plenty of room. Lovely fresh towels. All boxes ticked there! The restaurant was lovely and clean. The waiters so very well presented and polite. The breakfast itself was buffet and there was a great selection. Couldn't fault anything. At our 2nd breakfast there was a group of young men. One of them swore so one of the waiters went straight over to ask them to stop, which they did without question. All in all we had a lovely weekend just the two of us. The weather was great on Saturday, a bit of drizzle Sunday and as we were leaving Monday the heavens opened.

    « Restaurant-only review - Super dining »

Called in for an evening meal, airy and spacious dining room, with good views through the large windows, waiters smartly dressed in matching shirts and ties, I had the delicious prawn and pineapple starter followed by one of the best sirloin steaks ever. Service was polite and attentive, the waiters popping by occasionally to let me know that my main course would be along very shortly, which it was. Best to book - it was busy, but not overly so (in May). I should point out that I'm not reviewing the hotel, only its restaurant.

« Ignore all other reviews! »

To be honest, I wouldn't have chosen Blackpool as my destination of choice, but, in support of my old Young Farmers club, I needed a hotel for one night to be there to support them in a national drama final. I forget which site I booked through, but nearly cancelled having read the other TripAdvisor comments! IGNORE THEM! Yes, it is undergoing some refurbishment (and in some areas, it really needs it) BUT, we were expected, had free car parking, crisp, clean white bed linen, comfy beds, a clean bathroom, plenty of white towels, complimentary toiletries, a quiet nights sleep, free internet and a really good cooked breakfast! THEN, we went outside to find that someone (probably a young farmer) had generously left a massive kebab on my car windscreen, in case I was peckish on the way home. I popped back into the restaurant to ask for something to clean it off with, the be told that I would certainly not be doing that myself and that it would be sorted out for me! GREAT!! Went for a wander in the sun (yes, sun, in Blackpool) to return to my car whose windscreen was cleaner than before the kebab incident! What a service. Quite unexpected and much appreciated! Thank you very much to Andrew Lester, Ops Manager for his excellent windscreen valet! One negative - please change the pillows - flat, compacted and hard!

The hotel was very clean even though they were having alterations done to the lounge/bar area.Staff were friendly, polite and very helpful.Could not find fault with the hotel at all. Food was excellent, rooms clean with very good amenities. Second time we ve stayed there and would definitely go again.

    « Poor service & communacation »

Arrived to find the hotel in the middle of a major refurbishment of the bar & dining areas,no mention of this on their website when booking,we were disturbed by inconsiderate guest I the nearby rooms from 01.30 to 03.30, tried to call reception to no avail was constantly engaged,I even went a walk down & could not find anyone,I eventually called on my mobile, lo & behold someone answered, really poor customer service in my opinion

    « "Worse" western? »

Stayed here for one night whilst attending a conference at the Imperial just a stones throw away. Fronts onto promenade and overlooks Irish Sea. I was given room 18. Very helpful bar staff. However room was a throwback to the 1980's with little modernisation. Musty smell in room, cracked tiles and archaic shower system. Ask for a room shown in some of the trip advisor photos...not no. 18. Cost circa £80 on hotels.com. I would look for an alternative if I came to Blackpool again

    « Late rooms booking »

We stayed here for one night and found it to be absolutely great for what we wanted. We arrived around 8pm and the staff were obviously waiting on us as all the paper work was ready. The room itself was slightly dated but clean and the bed (a little small) but very comfortable! The shower was hot and powerful which is important to us. View wise we had some houses on the side of the hotel, we were offered an upgrade to a sea view which we would have taken if we were staying longer. There are massive renovations taking place but these didn't not bother us. We did not go to the hotel bar or have breakfast so cannot comment. The staff allowed us to park the car after our stay so we could explore with no issues. Overall for the price we paid and the locations we couldn't fault it.

    « Terrible....Find another hotel. »

Arrived to find a very rude and offensive female receptionist .Shown our room and refused. Broken floor tiles, broken wall tiles, holes in plaster. 2nd room about the same. 3rd room seemed a bit better so we took it. Vaccuum cleaner and wires on corridor at check in and we were expected to climb over this.Bathroom stank of stale urine once the shower had been used. Room tiny and overlooked the dustbins at the back. Door didn't open properly.Next day we were met by a very rude receptionist. Other members of staff listening to her rude remarks were giggling.Location is good and food was good.....rest of it was very disappointing and not to be repeated.

    « Average uninviting »

Lovely location. Breakfast average, staff rude ordered to wait in the most dismal uninviting lounge area. Bathroom in room smelt of stale urine. Woken up in early hours by drunk guests returning banging on doors. Hotel very dated in parts but being updated by looks of the building work going on. Lounge area very uninviting cold between front doors and building works draft. Not very comfortable dated, limited drinks on menu, no bar area noticed, staff but rude when asked for drinks. Dissatisfied

« Only saved from 1 star because it had a nice view. »

I stayed here for a period of (was supposed) to be 3 nights while on business in the area. I will start with the good - Bear in the mind you are in Blackpool and some of the terrible places you could be staying. All I can say for this hotel is i'm sure Its not the worst Blackpool has to offer. -The food is really nice on a evening it tastes pretty home made and they do a -evening special of £11.95 for any 2 courses which is brilliant value for money. Breakfasts were not too bad either, self serve and the food was nice. -Free Parking -Decent Wi-Fi -Sea front rooms do offer a nice view over the beach -Just away from the main strip and a tram stop right outside so a good location. OK now the bad - I've stayed in MANY hotels and many Best Westerns for a matter of fact around the country and this is maybe one of my worst experiences. Check in was painless, staff seemed OK and the rooms a little dated but overall were comfortable enough. Myself and my colleague stayed in the same hotel and both went for the superior double rooms which basically means sea views. The first night wasn't too bad until we both got woken up (unknown to each other until the morning) by music playing from the downstairs bar at 2:45. My colleague eventually went to complain and the night porter said he had put it on but would turn it off. The weather had changed at this point and both of us were kept awake by the windows making a terrible whistling noise while been battered by the wind. I have to say it wasn't as noisy in my room compared to my colleagues but still very annoying. We complained and my colleague was offered a room change but this room seemed just as noisy too. The 2nd night the temperature dropped and I sat shivering in bed, my colleague said he went to bed in a hoody it was that cold. There was no heating and the radiators were OFF. So now we both had very little sleep, constant whistling noises and not to mention the freezing cold. We complained again and was told the heating did work and that there was no whistling noises. At 7:30 that night I complained again because of no heating and the fact it was very cold again with lots of window whistling. I was told it would be on at 8:30 and it wasn't. We then decided we couldn't stand it any longer and we checked at at 9:30 and drove 3 hours in the pouring rain to get home. Overall a very unhappy stay. Luckily Best Western customer support were wonderful as always and helped us out. I'm sure in the summer its a ok hotel as that would have solved all our issues if it had not been for the no heating and noisy windows.

    « Friendly staff »

Stayed for 2 nights on b and b basis but enjoyed an evening meal. Service is good . Staff apologised for inconvenience during refurb but really it didn't effect us. We stayed before and I recognised faces of staff from previous visit and service still as good. Lady on reception welcoming and helpful and restaurant staff attentive also. Restaurant meal a great deal and as good as you'll get for a bargain price. I just hope prices don't go up to pay for refurb.

    « Night away »

This hotel is about 5 minutes walk from the tower and north pier. We only stayed one night but the hotel has free parking at the front of the hotel . The reception staff were friendly and let us leave our car even though we hadn't checked in. Our room was on the top floor and had a small window overlooking the rear of the hotel. The room was clean and had ample tea and coffee facilities. The bathroom was a little dated though. It looks as though the hotel was having some renovation work around the bar area but it didn't cause a problem. The breakfast was good and plentiful but the restaurant good do with a makeover. Overall although some parts of the hotel look tired and dated we would stay again.

« All round value for money »

Recently returned from a 2 night stay. Decided to pay for an upgraded double sea facing room and was not disappointed. The room had recently been painted,it was clean and fresh. The bed was comfortable and linens and towels spotless. The bathroom a little dated but spotlessly clean. The hospitality tray very well stocked. I found the staff professional, attentive and friendly. Had both breakfast and evening meal at the hotel. Again value for money. The evening waiting staff was particularly attentive and pleasant. All found my stat was value for money and will definitely be returning.

« Noisy Hotel- No Sleep »

Kept awake by fellow residents running up and down corridors, banging bedroom doors, they were even on the phone at 2:00 am trying to get drugs delivered from there mates. I heard him shouting bring me half a gram and I'll give you £50. No idea if this is a good deal or not!!!! If you want a peaceful relaxing sleep DO NOT STAY HERE with this type of clientele. The reception did come up once to ask them to be quite but the silence lasted for only 10 mins.

    « Lovely Stay »

I was welcomed by a friendly and helpful receptionist who really could not have done any more for me. The hotel is very clean and the room was spacious. I was given a room with a lovely view of the sea and prom at no extra cost. The only downside was I could not have a late check out but I understand why. The hotel was busy and the room was required. Overall very enjoyable stay with very helpful and friendly staff. I will definitely be back.

Very good Hotel. Would recommend it to anyone looking for a short break. Tram and bus stop directly outside. Walking distance to the Tower. All in all. A good all rounder. Breakfast was good. Plenty of choices between cereals and cooked items. Cant really mess up the full English really. Was undergoing some renovation when we were there but this didnt interfere with the general running. Would certainly use this hotel again

« Good Base for Blackpool Central »

Hotel was clean and facilities sound. We had a Superior w. The room was large with a very large bathroom. Staff were very helpful and pleasant. Breakfast was standard fayre but a bit cheap and cheerful, coffee was weak and fruit salad was in a very watery juice. Sadly the main restaurant and bar were being refurbished had I have been informed I would not have stayed here, when I book a good 3* and pay £85 for B&B, I expect the full facilities and no apology or explanation was offered for the work being undertaken.

« Clean. Staff very helpful, friendly. Small Bathroom. Loud nosies »

I stayed in room 307 for 3 nights. We did not pay for a sea view but got a small window with a sea view which was very nice. staff very helpful and I felt at ease with them to ask them questions. Bathroom very disappointing, worst bathroom I have ever stayed in. Very small could not move in it. Very clean. Shower was dreadful. It was on stuck to the wall. Either freezing cold or boiling hot. I complained about it and got a told how to make it warm. But did not make any difference. Needs new showers! Comfy bed nice sized room. Loud drilling noise at 12pm from builders downstairs which was very unpleasant when trying to sleep.

    « Value for money »

The room had a good view over the beach. The bed was very comfortable and bedding and towels were of a high standard. Freshly decorated, clean room. The bathroom was very cramped but we were only there for one night. Breakfast was fine. Very pleasant and helpful receptionist.

« Good value, will use again »

Stayed for one night in a standard double. Nice friendly reception and check-out. Room looked recently updated and was a nice standard for the money. Bedding all new, bed comfy. The bathroom was a little dated but quite acceptable for the money, though the towels looked a bit tired. All nice and clean and the breakfast was enjoyable too. Was pleasantly suprised for the money paid and will stay again

« Will not stay again »

I stayed here for 1 night with my husband, on arrivel we were asked if we would like to upgrade for a small fee (which we did) and also added breakfast. My husband asked what time this is served, for the receptionist to rudely reply "if you wait one minute for me too finish i will tell you". We then went to our upgraded room on the 2nd floor,(would not ov liked too see what we should of had) which was small and needed dusting, went into our "bathroom" if you can call it that a shower which was awful no were to put youre stuff, no room to move, tiles which were cracked and well looked like the whole thing needed updateing also the little step up which is awful and anyone could easerly hurt there foot on or trip over. The beer on tap was awful it smelt funny n tasted vile, my husband complained and got a new drink but yes still was same and nothing done about it he went on to bottles. Breakfast was awful we helped our selves and the food had been sat there dont know for how long it felt rubbery the eggs were over done and the juices was not cold as been sat on the side. I was very let down by the whole situation thinking it would be very nice hotel espsherly with haveing a very sucsessful best weston hotel in our home time.

parked up in the free car park and entered the hotel to a friendly greeting, and nice warm hotel. The room was slightly compact but well enough for our needs, the room was well decorated and clean there was a bath and shower and TV. We stayed on a bed and breakfast basis, and could not fault it, there was the usual cereals, fruit juices.croissants bacon eggs sausages hash browns, mushrooms, beans, tomatoes, toast, etc ,this was buffet style so you could eat what you wanted. Overall very good value for the price. would definitely stay here again.

    « Pleasantly surprised! »

Wind was horrible as expected for January in Blackpool... me and my partner were quite windswept and arrived at the Hotel 3 hours before check in. We were greeted by one of the nicest receptionists around and she turned our mood around! We were allowed to park before checking in so we hit the town for a little bit. When we checked in (we paid £20 extra for a decent sea view) We were very surprised to how good the room was and how clean it was. We were stunned by the value for money and it's opposite a tram stop which is very handy! We had breakfast in the hotel for £6.50 each and it was very vast and quite tasty. The Service was 5*'s The Room was 5*'s Hotel was very Clean and we would recommend staying here!

    « Great Hotel »

Only stayed for two nights but would definitely come back. Our room was very small but we were not planing on partying in there! It had a comfy bed and was spotlessly clean and well decorated with more than enough storage space, tea and coffee was restocked daily, what more do you need. The bathroom was also quite compact but had a good size shower. We were offered an upgrade to a sea view for a very reasonable price but as we were out until dark, it wasn't worth it, it would be nice in the summer though. Breakfast was self service with a very good choice of cereals, fruit etc, full English and as much tea and coffee as you could drink. Good choice for evening meal served by very attentive, friendly waiters. The hotel has a car park and is at the quieter end of the prom but only about 10 minute walk from the tower and shops. Hope to be back next year.

    « Stayed in better »

We stayed two nights in this hotel and unfortunately the restaurant was being refurbished so we had breakfast in another room. There is no waiter/ waitress service and you even help yourself to a cup of tea! Whether this is always like this I don't know or perhaps while the refurbishment is taking place. Wallpaper was peeling off the wall on the upper level and the twin bedded room was very small with a small step into the bathroom which anybody could trip over in the dark! We put the bath mat rolled up over it. The staff however were very helpful and friendly. The hotel has a very large car park also which was great then we didn't have to search for somewhere to park. I would however stay in this hotel again because it is away from all the hustle and bustle of Blackpool, yet it isn't too far to have a leisurely stroll into the centre. It will be interesting to see what the hotel is like when all the refurbishment is completed.

« Do NOT stay here. TERRIBLE »

Checked in and staff were friendly. Walked up to our room on the second floor, a sea-view room. The hotel looked a little dated at first. On first glance room looked fine, then realised window was broken, there was a hole in the wall, filthy bathroom. I called reception to ask if we could somehow get a better room or upgrade however the receptionist was rude and insisted the room was up to standard. I realised the phone had spilled coffee all over it. At this point I was quite annoyed as we paid over the odds for this room. The bathroom was dirty and grouting was brown, there was a fixed shower head on the wall which isn't suitable for everyone, as well as this the shower was either boiling or freezing, in this case my partner actually got burned. I will be writing a formal complaint to Best Western about this. Really disappointed with my stay here, I feel as if my money was wasted.

Efficient and friendly welcome; large, clean and well appointed room. Enough parking spaces so as not to worry about being stuck, Comfortable sleep, and a fully packed breakfast buffet that was stocked up regularly. Worth digging a little deeper into those pockets to make it feel worth it.

    « Really lovely hotel »

The hotel had really friendly staff and was well looked after. Breakfast was perfect - full English. It was £10 for sea view so we went without as was staying for only one night. Bed was really comfortable, just be careful of the step from the bedroom to bathroom as I tripped over it. Parking is free and they let u park up earlier than check in and let u stay after check out too. Would definitely recommend this hotel and would stay here again.

    « Reasonably priced »

Overall I'm happy with the room I had for what I paid. On the plus side, it was clean, warm and cosy. The hotel's location was useful for walkibf into the town centre, and the car parking worked well. The free WiFi was reliable. Staff were friendly, communicative and clearly well trained. Not so good were minor maintenance issues with the room - an important bulb blown; the one free power socket not working, and the phone unserviceable. Walls and doors offered little sound protection, so a light sleeper like myself had a hard time. One morning I was awoken (and kept awake) by the loud TV blaring away in the room opposite shortly after 6am. Another day a room service knock further down the corridor woke me just before 6. The bathroom of the room next door was adjacent to the head of my bed and I could hear pretty much everything going on in there!

The Hotel was ok nothing special but the staff were very good, If you like a 5ft double bed go for a twin room as even a lovely seaview room only had a small 4 '6 double. We were moved very quickly so no complaints there. e ,

« good hotel shame about the weather »

we booked this hotel in Blackpool for 1 night lovely hotel close to the centre for shopping staff where very nice and helpful room nice and clean and comfortable there was some work going on at the hotel but this did not affect our stay breakfast was very nice and you could have what ever you wanted toast tea cereals and also a cooked breakfast as well good value for money only problem was we had very windy weather the hotel is on the front but the weather didn't spoil our stay

Sorry but this hotel did not match the best western in edingburgh we stayed in new year on arrival receptionist asked if we would like an upgrade for an extra fee after 10 mins of repeatedly saying no I finally caved in just so we could get to our room on opening the door found the room freezing cold but radiator was on full so closed curtains as it was on sea front venturing into the bathroom found the radiator wasn't working so on the way out to go watch Paddy Mcguiness reported this to reception who said we will go look at it for you. On arrival back at hotel later that night radiator in bathroom had not been sorted but was too tired so just went to bed. Next morning showered in cold bathroom went I to the town on way out reported to different staff on reception on arrival back at hotel said radiator had been fixed hurrah warm bathroom but main room.m still cold. Bid not eat at the hotel aswaz advised not too by reviews of the food sorry but will not be staying here again

We stayed here on Saturday evening as our usual accommodation was fully booked and found it to be a decent hotel with comfortable rooms that could do with a bit of a revamp The downside we found was the awful banging noise that we heard early in the morning , this was probably from the heating or water pipes , this occurred on two occasions Overall it suited us as it was somewhere to get our heads down after a night around the town

    4
    « Clean and comfortable »

The hotel was very good value for money. We got a very reasonable rate through Last minute.com. The room was spotlessly clean, with comfortable beds, although too warm. The bathroom only had an extractor fan so there was a slightly stale smell but there was a bath with a shower over so it was good to have a choice. We ?id not eat at the hotel so cannot comment on the food. There is refurbishment going on in the hotel but despite this being close to the room, there was no disruption. We would definitely stay here again, even if we paid a little more.

i had a single room which was very comfortable. i decided to come back to this hotel, because i enjoyed it the last night i stayed. however the second time wasnt as great. they are re doing this hotel and it is looking great, but meant they are builders around. also another tip, i wouldnt bother with breakfast, very greasy

    « Yuk »

Stayed here last night, the room is clean, an the staff are pleasant. We stayed in room 113 the view is perfect, the bathroom is very small and the bath is high. The breakfast was awful!!! It has to be made with the cheapest ingredients, the sausage was like rubber, mushrooms were horrid, don't bother seriously, it makes travelodge taste like mitchilin star quality, poor show. Also if you are doing building work advertise it, hammering and banging at 8 am is not the best start to a day.

Great value for money and excellent service. Bedroom warm and comfortable. Good position on sea front. We very much enjoyed the food which was of good quality and very nicely served by a most helpful and pleasant waiter

    « Great Party »

Attended a birthday party at the hotel and everything was great. The staff, the food and the service were second to none. The manager; I think his name was Andy, couldn't do enough for you and was great, thanks. I'd definitely recommend this hotel if you're thinking of holding a function here.

    « It's okay »

The hotel is being refurbished and it would have been nice to have been told about this when we booked. The check in was handled well and we had booked a superior room with a sea view, the room was small with a very small double bed definitely not a superior room in my opinion, but it was clean and everything worked, good wi-fi. We had dinner in the make do restaurant, the service was good and the food was well presented and tasted fine, as was breakfast next morning. We stay in Best Western hotels regularly and perhaps we expected them all to be of similar quality, maybe this one will benefit from the refurbishment.

    « 2 night break »

Not at its busiest but nonetheless that probably isn't a bad thing as the hotel is 'MID' refurbishment. The hotel however is clean, tidy, politely staffed with efficient staff. Food is very good, we initially stayed B&B but ended up having evening meal there as well. Food was of a good quality, couldn't fault it (both breakfast and evening meal). Room (209), not the biggest but that's not a problem, its was clean & tidy, bed comfortable, one thing to be wary off though, 3 steps down into en-suite, room very warm as well.

    « Nice stay »

Stayed one night, I regularly stay at best western hotels. This hotel is dated compared to others. Clean hotel, room clean and warm, really comfy bed. Breakfast really nice. For the price we paid good value. Great location for the funny girls show ??

    « Great meal »

Me and my wife called in for a evening meal and we weren't disappointed, the staff in the restaurant were friendly and efficient. The meal was excellent and the dessert was the same it was that good we went the evening after, when we come to Blackpool again we will eat here forget the rest.

    « Good clean hotel »

Stayed 2 nights, check in quick & efficient but won't let you check in before 2pm. Room 102 no sea view but were offered one for extra £10 per night but we didn't bother, clean, comfy, decent hospitality tray replenished daily. Breakfast was faultless, fresh fruit salad, grapefruit, juices, cereal, croissant, toast, bacon, sausage, fried egg, mushrooms, hash brown, beans, tomatoes - just help yourself. Room cleaned daily with fresh towels, all public areas & lift very clean. On return one evening there was a leak in the bathroom from the radiator, we rang reception, duty manager arrived moments later. He said maintenance would be along shortly- 6 minutes later he arrived with tools & repaired the leak, very efficient. Quick checkout & would definitely stay here again.

    « 1 night party stop »

We stayed for one night on 28th december. We were with two other couples on a night and day of drinking. We arrived at hotel and had a quick beer before going to our room. We returned my wifes drink as it had lipstick on the glass which was not a good first impression. We were then showed to our room, was pleasantly surprised it was well decorated and had a nice bathroom. To be fair we only used room to shower and sleep but cant fault it at all. Would definitely stop there again it was perfect for this type of stopover.

« No room cleaning, inattentive staff »

Stayed for 7 nights during Christmas time, the room cleaning was terrible: the room was cleaned only twice. We were said the breakfast ends at 10:30 every day, but in fact it ended 9:30 during weekdays. Only location of the hotel is excellent. But will not recommend it to anyone.

« My Choice Of Hotel »

I'm not sure how many times I've stated at the Carlton, but they must be doing something right as I always pick this hotel when I visit Blackpool. I find the location ideal as it is far enough away from the town centre to be quiet, but not so far to be a long trek. Also there is a tram stop right opposite the hotel. I find the staff very welcoming. They always remember me (which I find amazing considering the number of guest's) The rooms are always clean, tidy and warm in the Winter months. I would and indeed have recommend this hotel to anybody staying in Blackpool.

    « Lovely visit »

Stayed here for 2 nights with my husband. Staff very friendly & owner very nice & helpful. It was a bit noisy at night but that wasn't the hotels fault,it was the people in the next room slamming doors every time they came in & out! We ate here on our last night & the food was amazing!! My husband is a vegan & the owner had arranged for the chef to make him a starter & a main....he was not disappointed! I had garlic mushrooms for starter without the cream & they were lovely. My main was the king prawn dish & it was out of this world. It was that good I almost ordered a 2nd plate!!!! Would definitely stay here again or come back just to dine!!

Opted to stay here whilst visiting Blackpool as it was handy for Harry Ramsden. The hotel was exceptionally quiet as in number of guests. Checkin was pleasant and efficent. Think the hotel is undergoing some refreshment as there are builders sheets down and a faint smell of paint. Certainly from my room and what I saw in reception and bar, it all looked very nice and clean. Breakfast was ok, nothing amazing. Room was quiet and bed comfy. Plenty of parking. Not sure if that'll be the case in hight of season. Didn't eat (dinner) here as opted to eat out.

    « Lovely staff »

I was a bit unsure about staying in a best western hotel, thinking it would be a bit bland and samey, however was pleasantry suprised. The rooms were ok, clean and reasonably well maintained for a seaside hotel, bits and bobs needed maintaining however on the whole the rooms were fine. The 3 course evening meal was again fine, nothing too special, but a bargain at £13 The staff however were outstanding, very friendly, remembering names and even singing happy birthday for my friend. The breakfast was very good, self service with none of the usual busy-ness of self service breakfasts, all the breakfast food was tasty and hot (what else do you want from breakfast) The staff and breakfast raised this rating from a 3 to a 4 star from me.

Would stay again if we are in Blackpool.

« Good Room with Sea View and an Excellent Breakfast! »

We found the staff at the hotel very friendly and willing to help us with our plans the free on site car park is a bonus as is the hotel's close proximity to the 'Tower' just 2 tram stops away, at a cost of £2.00 each (with a tram stop right outside the hotel) great for us, as the prime purpose of our stay was to attend a salsa night at the tower ballroom. I understand that 24 hour passes on the trams are available for a fiver each through the winter months had we have known we would have gone for this! Downside was the trams stop running at about 11.30pm meaning a £3.80 taxi in November (cheaper than the tram if there's 2 of you) or a 15min walk in July! The room with sea view was very nice but we did have a problem getting hot water had to run the tap for a long time in the evening and in the morning even this proved useless meaning a very cool shower. I believe the hotel was full so this could have been the reason. Breakfast was buffet style and excellent with the various items replenished as they became low. The lack of hot water brought the rating down by a star.

    « Excellent »

A big thankyou to all the team at the Carlton hotel in Blackpool. Having stayed in a few different hotels for a medical exhibition over the years ive found this particular hotel to be one of the best in Blackpool, the staff being Andrew the manager, Zhanna the receptionist and Jonathan the breakfast waiter are fantastic and really make the stay a pleasure. The entire team are a credit to the Best Western group. Work is being carried out to keep the hotel in the expected pristine condition but dont be put off because the rooms are excellent and theres no noise off the work. Thanks all and have a great week. Roger.

Stayed 29/11/2015 to 1/12/2015.Arrived before check-in time but were warmly welcomed and offered free tea/coffee while we waited as the weather was horrendous.Ample parking on site and next to a tram stop as well. The room was very clean tidy and never felt the cold at night.Didn't have breakfast but had an evening meal which was very good quality.Staff were very helpful sorting a menu out as I am a vegan and my wife is a slimming world member.Staff were very helpful and chatty and although there was work taking place on the hotel we were never disturbed.Nicely placed if you don't want to stay right in the centre where I would imagine it would be a lot noisier.Would highly recommend this hotel.

« dont go there during refurbishment »

The location is excellent right outside a tram stop and the staff are very friendly. The hotel whilst it is being refurbished is poor. The seaview restaurant is non existent, the dining room is a dingy space with head height windows and plastic table cloths. The newly refurbished room (216) which we were proudly offered had a window that leaked, no décor on the walls except a tv, a bathroom with chipped floor tiles, cracked wall tiles, a radiator that didn't work, taps that were stiff, a sink that was slow to empty and no hot water at 8am on a sunday. The food is good value at £13.95 for 3 courses but make sure you state that you want the early bird or you will be charged for the free wine.

    « Good Location »

Went to Blackpool on a street photography adventure with a good buddy and plumped for the Best Western Carlton Hotel....top end of town about 10-15 minutes walk from the tower and the North Pier. But the gem of this hotel it is just next to a tram stop, so you can grab a £5 rover ticket and whizz up and down the Blackpool prom to your hearts content. Parking on site, not a huge number of spaces but enough Really warm friendly welcome on arrival, good priced hotel too. The rooms were tidy and clean, I had a single room, which are normally quite small, but this was cool, all the right stuff in all the right places, desk, luggage area, TV and a few well placed power points. Really nice two day stay

« Very convenient, great food »

Great check in / out. Still being refurbed but lots of signs to say that and reception also mentioned it. Weather was horrendous but hotel was warm and cosy. Food was great and really good value in the evening. Breakfast was fine although only fried eggs - would have preferred scrambled. Buffet breakfast. Had a renovated room with sea view which was nice - definitely wind and rain proof! Bar area is also very inviting to sit for a while Car park on site

    « Nice hotel »

Stayed in Blackpool for one night at this hotel, very nice! Our room had just been refurbished was very clean but a little spars of decoration, could do with a few pictures. The bed was very comfortable and room lovely and warm as it was blowing a gale and very wet and cold outside. Plenty of tea and coffee and also hot chocolate which was a comfort after enduring the weather. The breakfast in the morning was very good large selection of cereal, fresh fruit, full English breakfast, fruit juice and tea and coffee. There was a bar open till late and no restriction to what time you had to be back. The staff were friendly and very helpful, I would definitely stay again.

« Ok, But not the best stay, »

For the price of £125.00 I expected a bigger room, Not one in the eaves, But it was clean, Very. The hotel was under going a refurb, again, I think the price should have reflected this, The entrance and internal ground floor was uninviting, and cold, It could be a fabulous hotel, Great location, Breakfast was good, hot, and plenty of it, Staff friendly, Purely on price I would not stay here again, To me not value for money,

« Two Nights In Blackpool »

A couple of rooms on our floor were being renovated at the time of our arrival so the whole floor felt quite cold and unwelcoming due to all the windows being open, but as soon as we got into our room everything was fine. The room was a little tired but I guess it was next in line for refurbishment but over all it was comfortable. Shower worked well and was extremely hot, Wi Fi worked well, parking was very convenient and breakfast was a buffet which was everything it needed to be. Restaurant staff at breakfast were very good, clearing plates and replenishing the buffet when required. Would definitely return just to experience a renovated room as this can only help to establish the premises as a prime mover on the sea front.

    « It's Blackpool afterall »

There are so many places to stay in Blackpool so what made us book this hotel. To be honest price and free parking...there were cheaper places but by the time you paid for parking it would all add up. This hotel is convenient. It's on the sea front. Maintenance being carried out but it wasn't really disruptive except one morning (not early but certainly before 10am) there's was banging going on in the rooms beside but as long as you weren't out late the night before you'd be fine. We got what we paid for, it was clean warm and comfortable. The staff were polite and duets us. We didn't have breakfast but did have an evening meal which was nice. Unfortunately we arrived the day after the illuminations were finished and there were no. Shows on either. Plenty of pubs and good stay for a couple of days.

« It's under renovation, but they should start with the Manager »

Just stayed one night whilst we 'did the Pleasure Beach and saw the lights'. What a calamity, I thought Fawlty Towers was in Torquay! To begin with they had over-booked the hotel and they tried to move us. We had booked two rooms as they had no family rooms available. The thought of traipsing across Blackpool with both kids trying to find somewhere was not an option. We settled and agreed on one room, with an additional double bed. They would manage this whilst we went out for dinner and had a walk along the prom. Got back six hours later and they hadnt done a thing. Two tired kids and a stressed out wife = one star Tripadvisor review!!! After a comical scene from said sitcom where they tried to give us single sheets for a double bed, we did get a good rest. The shower was a joke and looked like something from the second world war, if they had showers, this was it. The breakfast was okay, tricky due to the renovation, buffet queues etc, but that's the least of their problems. The receptionist was very helpful, but the duty manager and hotel manager could were about as useful as a chocolate teapot.

« Great location, rooms adequate, building work ongoing. »

We stayed here for two nights to experience the illuminations. We had a room on the front, with great views. The room itself was in need of updating, but it was perfectly fine. The shower cubicle with plastic curtain, was miniscule.Parking was free and right in front of the hotel; finding a space was not a problem. Breakfast was great - a buffet with a wide choice and the waiting staff were very helpful. Both days they checked we had finished eating before they started clearing the buffet (we were not early risers). We ate in the hotel one evening but it was pretty mediocre and we went out the second night. Wi-Fi was great - high speed and easily accessible in all areas. When we got up on the Monday morning the builders had already arrived and the noise from the guest room they were working in was pretty awful. It was a few doors down for us, but I would have been really upset had our room been any nearer. It is great the hotel is having a refurb, but parts are cordoned off and rubbish was being thrown from an upstairs window into a skip in the car park, without the use of a chute. Dust was flying everywhere. Cleaning, waiting and reception staff were all very pleasant. We would return, but would ask for a refurbished room and probably wait until the building work was completed.

I booked a weekend break for my partner and friend. On arrival they were shown to a very small room that held 2 single beds in which they refused due to its size. They were then shown to a larger room with 2 single beds and when entering the room smelled of damp including the bathroom. They were told there was no other rooms available. Their shower did not work and there was very little hot water for both off them. For the price that was paid they both felt they would have been better in a B&B

    « Dreadful... »

I booked a twin room for my Daughter's Birthday. Arrived to free parking ( only positive ) and was given a ' cosy room'. This was basically a single room with an additonal single bed wedged in so that they were the exact width of the room. Workmen directly outside beginning at 7.30am added to the misery. Staff did not care and their attitude was appalling. Other patrons were also complaining, yet it made no difference. Hotel is tired and like something from 1978. When you come in at 22:00 and there is not one single person in any public area at all, you know that something is amiss...

    3
« No rooms due to 'last minute refurbishment' »

We were booked to stay here last weekend, we arrived at 11.45am and given a permit to park and asked to return at 2 to check in. When we arrived back at the hotel at 2pm we were told they had 'last minute refurbishment' and asked us to move to the Carousel hotel. The hotel had no access through the front door, you had to enter by the back entrance with the builders, dust and their equipment which wasn't great. There were no windows in some of the sea view bedrooms and I assume this is why we had to move hotel. The staff were incredibly helpful and polite and I appreciated fully this was not their fault however it would have been useful to be asked to move when we arrived not in the middle of the afternoon. The hotel really are doing renovations at the wrong time of the year, you would expect the Illuminations to be one of their busiest times therefore its a shame they could not provide the service you expect from this chain.

    « NICE HELPFUL STAFF »

An excellent located hotel not far down from North pier, And a tram stop right outside. Very nice and helpful staff, we were upgraded for a small fee to a sea view room - worth every penny! The hotel is being decorated/refurb, but this didn't impact on our stay. Our room was large as was the en-suite, and was clean. Plenty of clean towels avaiable. The food was extremely nice and good value for money, the salmon i had last night was beautiful melt in the mouth! Would recommend and would stop again.

    « Great Hotel »

My husband and I booked this hotel on the morning that we went. Upon our arrival we could see that some building work was taking place at the hotel but it didn't effect our stay. We were greeted at reception by a very friendly lady who made us feel very welcome. We were given a room on the 3rd floor which overlooked the seafront, it was very foggy so we couldn't see much but the room was a good size and it was clean and comfortable. The hotel had plenty of free parking and was just a short walk away from the hustle & bustle of Blackpool which suited us and it was a bit quieter. We also had free wifi. The breakfast included cereals, croissants etc and a buffet style cooked breakfast which was very nice. We found this hotel to be good value and in a good location. I would recommend this hotel for a short break to Blackpool.

« Great location, disappointing food quality »

Great location for jumping on a tram to see the illuminations. Upon arrival reception team were very helpful and we decided to have dinner in the hotel. The food was poor quality and Luke warm - told barman but didn't seem too bothered. Hotel was undergoing refurbishment and signage was poor for entrance.

« Nice hotel in good location »

Booked 4 bedrooms with hotel through Booking.com £82 for double and £52 for a single room. £7 extra for the cot. 2 of the Double bedrooms were very small, felt claustrophobic. Other had a cot in and was good size facing the sea view. single was also ok. We stayed one night taking our grand child for the first time to see illumination. It was clean and comfortable nothing exciting but adequate for our needs. The staffs were helpful. Breakfast was good. Will stay here again.

    « Beware of overbookings! »

There appears to be a policy of overbooking in this establishment. Bookings through agencies eg Booking.com seemed particularly prone to rejection. On check in I saw a procession of people given the apologetic news that there was no room and they had been relocated. Inevitably mine was an inferior establishment and their attempts to find better were perfunctory. Perseverance produced a settlement ie 100% refund, no charge in alternative hotel and £25 compensation but never again!

    4
« Very good customer service and excellent location »

The hotel is located right front of the tram station and the beach. Hotel receptionists were very busy, but they were very helpful. One of receptionist even checked if I had a member card of best western reward and as he found I was, he found a better room for me/my son (sea view). Breakfast was served very efficiently and both presentation and the taste of them were good, too. Really enjoyed the stay at this hotel during the Blackpool illumination.

    3
« Beware: Booking system unreliable. »

We were booked in here via TripAdvisor (Amoma), paid and confirmed. We arrived with our confirmation only to be told we had no booking (I'll be taking that up with TA!). The Duty Manager very helpfully booked us in, at no extra cost, to the 4* Carousel Hotel at the other end of the Prom (not a bad hotel in fact) and that would have been it had I also not seen others on here with the same problem. The Carlton are in the middle of renovations and it seems their booking system has gone into meltdown. They couldn't have been more helpful in sorting out the issue, hence the 'Average' rating but we shouldn't have had an issue in the first place.

    3
    « Prefer premier inns..... »

I stayed here with my son (age 6) for one night. I paid £69.00 for a double room with no food included. On check in I was asked if I'd accept a single room with ONE single bed for us to share?! Errr no!? Who would accept that? The room was nice enough but the central heating was on all night on FULL! Fortunately I managed to shut it off with the TRV on the radiator. The door unlocked if the handle was turned inside,no proper lock on the door. Not the best with children! All in all I'll stick to premier inns in the future. Clean and acceptable but to be asked if I'd accept one single bed for two of us at nearly £70 I wasn't impressed!!!!

    3
    « Double bookings beware! »

Booked hotel through Trivago and they booked through Amoma and we did receive a booking confirmation for our two night stay and I did phone the hotel direct the day before to confirm booking, which I was told all ok. Problem was the day we arrived we was told there was no booking! The hotel managed to get us in later that day but the room was a single room with a double bed in it and not a double room which we had booked but because it was getting late in the day we took it. Must admit the Manager was very helpful in finding us the accommodation but really it was a stressful experience and spoilt the trip to be honest. It's probably best to book direct I know but the hotel confirmed my booking over the phone the day before so just beware when checking in. The hotel does have work going on at the moment inside but this did not really spoil the stay. It's clean and pleasent and location spot on with its own carpark.

Stayed overnight with our 3 small children. Clean and friendly. Room very tidy. Didn't like the door locks. If the handle was pulled down from inside the door unlocked. Not brill with a 1yr old. Heating was buzzing very loud at 11.30pm but sorted that out by turning heating off! Breakfast was plentiful and delicious. Would stay again with no issues.

« nice hotel in a great location »

This Hotel is at the North Pier end of Blackpool & i am glad we chose this end as i thought the central & south areas looked very run down and noisy in comparison We stayed at the Carlton for 3 night (2 adults & 1 child). We were told when we checked in we had one of the best rooms, the room was more than adequate, spacious enough however decor wise a little dated but clean with tea / coffee making facilities - we were out and about all day every day we were there so we literally only spent time in the room to sleep and shower. Reception - check in is 2pm and the staff were really friendly and it was quick and easy Bar - very overpriced but then that's what you come to expect in hotel bars, Breakfast - the breakfast was really good, loads of choice, cereal, fruit, yoghurts & then you full english choice. Piping hotel and buffet service Hotel overall - the hotel is a little dated if i'm honest but clean and tidy and that's all that counts for me. There was a mixed age range of guests so clearly something for everyone. The hotel is actually being renovated although nowhere does it say this on the website however we didn't hear any noise or evidence of the work going on until the earliest 09:00 when at breakfast so no problems in my eyes Overall stay - very good and i would definitely stay here again as i thought for what we paid it was excellent value for money

I'm booked a 2 night stay for my parents for my dads 80th. When they booked in they quickly upgraded them to a sea view room. Thank you. a little gesture like that made their stay more enjoyable. They had evening meal at the hotel and said it was lovely and had a lot of choice. Staff and manager was lovely and friendly. They will be staying again.

Looking for somewhere to stay for a short break in Blackpool that will not break the bank? Look no further than the B.W. Carlton. Easy to find and park and easy to spot as one of the few hotels to look as though it has had a recent coat of paint. Situated a few minutes walk from the tower/north pier and opposite a tram stop, it is close enough for easy access and far enough out to be quiet an peaceful in the late evening. As with most hotels at this level in a place like Blackpool, a little ''TLC'' would not go amiss, but the room was clean, comfortable and decently appointed. The fabric of the building was a little worn but not enough to be an issue. The lounge was a nice place to linger and the dining room, while not ''silver service'' was comfortable and welcoming. This brings me to the Hotel's best feature. The food! Punching way above the price point and expectations for a seaside hotel, it was excellent. While having no ''fine dining'' pretensions, the menu was modern with a familiar feel, enough choice to enable trying something different but with comfortable favourites. As good a buffet breakfast as you would expect at a much more expensive locale and a well thought out wine list at very reasonable prices round out the goodies. Without massive investment in fabric, this great little Hotel cannot command 4 star rating, but I personally give it 4 stars for effort and the food

    « Disappointing »

When we booked we were unaware of the structural building work going on at the hotel. This created noise, dust and drafts. The public rooms were not inviting. We had booked a sea view, this did not materialise. The room was small, shabby with the curtains hanging off the rail. It was very clean and warm. There were insufficient staff to run the hotel and no one was on the bar. We will not be going back.

« Good hotel for the price »

Hotel is well located in Blackpool and has a tram stop across the road. Free car parking at the hotel. We didn't eat at the hotel but over heard others saying food was lovely. Room was tiny and could have done with a refurb but I understand the hotel is going through one at the moment. Overall we enjoyed our stay

    « Good 1 Night Stay! »

I Visited Blackpool for the day and stayed over at this hotel, this hotel has a good quiet location with private car park. At check in the receptionist was extremely efficient with excellent customer service skills (zhanna), I had a single room which was clean, tidy and comfortable, there was not really much of a view from the window as it was located at the back of the hotel but this did not bother me.The bathroom looked new and everything worked as it should. In the morning a buffet breakfast was on offer with English breakfast @ the heart of this which was extremely nice. I enjoyed my short visit to this hotel and would book again,

« Pleasant over night stay, but hotel a work in progress »

We stayed over night with out grand daughter and the staff were really helpful and our room was okay. The hotel is undergoing a much needed refurbishment which will make this a much better hotel in the future. The location was ideal for us for the Illuminations.

    « Great location »

Stayed here for two nights, in a sea view room. the hotel is currently undergoing some refurbishment. our room was clean but the decor was very tired, as it is throughout the hotel. the ensuite shower room was adequate but would have benfitted from a towel rail or towel hooks (the ones on the door had been broken off and not replaced), the shower would have benefitted from a small shelf or rack for personal toiletries. Breakfast was a self service buffet. food was plentiful and there was a good range to choose from.

« Fabulous hotel and good value »

I stayed for 2 nights at the end of September with my mum and cousin. The staff are all lovely and the food is excellent and the 3 course deal is probably the best deal in Blackpool for very good quality food. The views from the bar and dining room are great. I did notice some painting being done but a hotel doesn't need to shut down to upgrade itself and this did not affect our stay. I have rebooked for December for my birthday with family and friends as I love the location and friendliness of this hotel.

    « Not bad for a Blackpool hotel ! »

Stayed here for one night to visit Blackpool and see the illuminations. Location of hotel was great just past the north pier away from the rowdiness of the centre with a team stop just outside. This enabled us to purchase an all day ticket to get around Blackpool was great! The hotel itself was quite quiet, staff were all friendly and couldn't help enough. The breakfast was buffet all food was cooked and tasted fab! The hotel room was slightly on the small side however served it's purpose for a one night stay and definitely well worth the money we paid for our stay compared to other hotels we have stayed in in Blackpool previously.

    « Highly recommende »

My wife and I enjoyed an overnight stay the the Carlton Hotel. The welcome was very warm and whilst the room was a little small it was adequate for our needs. We enjoyed Dinner in the hotel with a very wide menu to choose from. After a good nights sleep in a comfortable bed we enjoyed an excellent breakfast with a wide choice of hot and cold food to choose from. We would have not hesitation in booking at The Carlton the next time we stay in Blackpool.

    « A very enjoyable overnight stay »

Stayed here for one night on 30/9/2015. It was a very enjoyable experience. We have stayed at this hotel before, so were pleased to see that it is being given a face lift. We found all the staff to be very pleasant, especially the Spanish gentleman on reception the morning that we checked out. He was having problems with the card machine, not his fault. He kept apologising but it was not necessary. Our room was at the back of the hotel, with not much of a view. However, this was no problem as we were out most of the time. Very clean, breakfast good. Well done, we will be back.

« One night to see the lights »

Stayed for one night to see the lights. Our room was around the back of the hotel with a slither of sky and a tyre depot visible. The room was clean and OK. The hotel seems to be in a phase of decorating. I could not pay with my Best Western card as I had booked with booking.com and I also had no points for my stay. Breakfast was OK with the food set out in covered servers and do your own toast and drinks. The Reception Staff were pleasant and tried to be helpful.

    « Pretty much what I expected »

This is an old hotel which is need of redecoration and renovation, which fortunately appears to be about to happen. We has a double room (203) which I would describe as dated, drab and diminutiive. It was approx 10ft x 10 ft with more furniture than was reasonable for room of this size, and with dark paintwork and soft furnishings it felt a bit oppressive. The bathroom was approx 3ft x 6ft so we were constantly dancing around each other in this very small space, but we didn't spend much time there so it wasn't too much of a problem. On the plus side the bed was comfortable, the linen was good, and there was a constant supply of hot water. Breakfast was very good, but dinner was decidedly average - more Iceland than Jamie Oliver, but then we were there for a conference so that could be down to the package negotiated by the conference organisers. The staff were helpful and worked very hard to please guests. The bar area was a bit small and poorly organised. The conservatory area was a long thin shared space for the restaurant and bar, but had formica tables which didn't create an inviting space. On balance I couldn't say this hotel was good but it wasn't bad either - and it did have free wifi and free parking. I probably would consider returning, but I would ask for a bigger room next time.

    « Worst Western Hotel »

Reception staff nice enough just couldn't understand them due to language problem, room 219 avoid was not worth its 3 star was''nt even a 1 star, windows filthy on the inside, plastic bath mat, was walking on its own, shower head was orange with scum, light switchs dirty, generally tired unclean and battered, we complained and were offered room 222 was dark dingy no window and faced the air conditioning unit, we refused that, we did check all the other hotel in the area to move but everywhere was full booked. It is in a good location, and breakfast was good otherwise avoid if you want a decent clean room. I would expect more from a Best Western Hotel, Back to premier for us.
