The hotel Is great value for the money. The rooms are older and could use a refresh. The breakfast looked impressive & the staff were really nice. Everything is within walking distance. We only stayed one night, it was average. Good for business travel.
The hotel is very clean, the staff are great, the beds are comfy. We stayed 4 nights and found it quiet in the area. The breakfast was amazing with a made to order omelette bar as well as other hot entrees and fresh waffles (with strawberries and whipped cream)!
The room was clean and comfortable with a very nice complimentary breakfast. We especially enjoyed the omelet bar, being able to choose ingredients. Handicap parking was available and there was adequate parking. We have started to stay at Best Western when we travel, and so far have enjoyed a free stay due to points
Make sure you document pictures of bedding and floor The bedding was stained and charged me for damages. They said that I put stain into bedding and charged my credit card for it. $200. There was a huge hole in carpet when we got there. As a disabled person, I was asked on arrival after I parked in disability parking to go and move my vehicle. I was informed that it wasn't parked straight enough for their liking. How embarrassing!
Clean, comfortable, great service, and good food. Close to downtown. Close to main thoroughfares. Great place for hikers to stay as some hiking trails are close
Do not recommend. Air conditioning does not work in the rooms. Bathroom fan has mold on it. Water temperature is dangerous, shower will suddenly go cold then immediately go scalding hot in an instant without touching the tap. Informed desk agent about the A/C and they suggested a fan in my room would make it better. Spoiler Alert, it didn't.
From the moment we arrived, every one of our needs was met by the incredibly helpful and professional staff. Our rooms were spotless and our every need looked after. The location was ideal for walking around town to local gift shops or restaurants and yet there was plenty of parking for cars right there too.
The hotel is a little old, however, it is clean, well maintained and the desk staff very friendly and very helpful. Having arrived in -17 weather, we were delighted to find Beasley's Lounge and Grill. The food was excellent and the desserts amazing especially the Tiramisu! Way to go to the Chef at the Best Western Terrace BC. Awesome job! And a big thank you to our waitress/bar person. Despite the hotel being fairly full, we were very surprised that we were the only two people in the lounge January 11, 2024.
The sound of the throbbing base from the music in the basement makes it impossible to sleep, and I'm on the third floor. The walls are literally shaking. Can't sleep and the desk doesn't care. I've stayed here often. This is the first time this has happened. I'm very irritated that the staff don't care.
With Best Western, you could not go wrong, definitely you'll have a great stay. The service experience has always been consistently good starting from front desk, restaurant, and cleaning. Same experience I had when I was also staying at Best Western Silicon Valley, Best Western Terrace is also top notch!
From the outside this place looked questionable in a less then attractive neighborhood and we wondered whether to go inside, but being a BW it must be worth a look. The front desk folks were friendly and accommodating also stating the AC was not working. Did not matter as weather was cool. Our room was clean and attractive and offered a good quiet sleep. Breakfast in the morn was one of the best we've experienced with it's "live omelet" feature and a wide choice of other offerings. Definitely worth a second look next time through.
The Terrace Best Western is a bit frayed around the edges and could use a bit of a refresh. The staff however are very nice. We were immediately told upon arrival that the air conditioning was not working. I appreciated the upfront information and although the they offered to rebook us elsewhere we decided to stay. There was a fan in our room and the windows opened so we did not notice the lack of A/C at all. Our room was very big and there was a good supply of toiletries provided. The best part of our stay was the omelet station and waffle maker at breakfast. There are a couple of good restaurants within a short walk. We enjoyed Don Diego's and the Blue Fin Sushi Bar.
Last minute booking and welcomed my three kids no problem and gave me the best rate available. Will always stay at this hotel from now on. No hassles and rooms were very quiet did not hear any guests at all. Had a great sleep
Hotel staff was extremely accommodating. Westjet canceled my flight and delayed me leaving terrace by 20 hours. Westjet also screwed up the travel vouchers and the hotel staff were kind enough to help me get a ride to the airport. They also have an amazing continental breakfast with made to order egg-omelettes and waffles, yogurt, bagels & cream cheese. Overall great place.
Rooms were not very clean, staff wasn't helpful. Breakfast was okay, staff there were kind and helpful. Hotel is old and dirty, needs a renovation or a deep clean badly. Will not return unless there is absolutely no other option and my dates can't be changed
Dirty rooms, stain on the pillow, hard beds, hair on the shower walls, had a clock radio plugged in and not working, went to grab a pop Out of the machine in the lobby, and when the pop came out, it was warmer than room temperature but I have to say the best part of my stay was the breakfast cause I had a chef there at the omelet station making you an omelet the way you wanted for breakfast that was great !!!
Stay was excellent, staff were courteous and helpful, hotel was clean and room and best were very comfortable. The breakfast was awesome and kitchen staff friendly and helpful. Clean and going forward I will be a regular at the Best Western. Ps I left a package in my room and the manager was on it and is in the process of returning it to me at cash on delivery, or whatever way he deems acceptable to him. Will definitely recommend this hotel quiet, friendly, clean and caring staff
Our experience at the hotel was really good . We had some issues with our vehicle and the managers were absolutely amazing in helping us fix this issue . Thank you so Much .It was greatly appreciated. Clean rooms, friendly and helpful staff..
Had to drive to Terrace for a medical trip. No medical rates. Check in was... let's say not smooth... had dinner at the restaurant to a crowd of very loud, and not sober people yelling at the top of their lungs, pouring their own drinks, and took forever to get menus, and 2 cans of ices tea because of the crowd. The room... was alright, but hair left behind the bathroom door on on the inside of the shower curtain, so not too Clean. I also found chunks of dirt between the 2 bed sheets they used to make a make shift duvet cover. Hardly got any sleep because of people yelling in the halls all night, no soundproofing. Very noisy. Not an enjoyable visit. Will be looking for another hotel in Terrace in future
We stayed at the is hotel because it was close to where our son is working there so we met him for supper. Check in was great and went smoothly. Breakfast was amazing along with the usual cereals, toast etc there was a made to order omelet station.
This hotel is awesome because the staff is amazing absolutely adore all of them. They're great people that's why I always come back and they get my business over any other hotel in Terrace. The only reason they don't get 5 stars is because the sausage they serve for breakfast is not very good. I wish they would change it to either a better sausage or a different breakfast meat in general. I think a lot of people don't like it because they never run out.
Breakfast was good but the hotel stay was the worst experience ever, room 458, reeked of old cigarette smoke, there was no airflow in the room, the air conditioner did not work and it was hot and stinky. The lobby was also very stuffy and hot. I could not change rooms as they were all booked up. I could wait for the night to be over so I could leave.
My friend and I were traveling across BC and I thought that selecting a Best Western in Terrace was going to be getting a room as good as any property in town. The property exterior is not attractive though. Our room, due to the lateness of the reservatio, was not great. The sofa bed did not work very well, the frig dripped water and had food from a previous stay, the A/C was marginal. The location is close to eating places, but that part of town is a bit sketchy. Lots of people smoking outside. It did not feel very safe to me. Breakfast a positive though with a good selection of items and made-to-order omelets.
The staff were very nice and friendly, but that's about the only good thing I can say about this place. The elevator wasn't working properly (was told it was getting fixed and after a weeks stay it still wasn't), blood on the floor all the way up the stairwell, rooms smell like smoke, bathroom not cleaned very well (hair in the tub and dried puddle of something on the floor), clogged sink, and hair in the sheets (they did switch my room for me right away). The new room seemed cleaner but still smelled of cigarette smoke. To top it off a couple coworkers vehicles were broken into in the hotel parking lot. Not located in the best part of town. I always stay at BW if it's an option, but I will not be staying at this location again. My coworkers who were staying another week checked out and went to a different hotel.
I had a very comfortable sleep at the hotel, excellent complimentary breakfast too, I will come back with my family to stay again, or when I'm in town for business :) Thank you Best Western Terrace Inn for your excellent hospitality also :)
The wallpaper if falling off the walls! Stains on all the furniture! The coffee machine was filthy. The spa tub jets were discusting! Not impressed! Real bad attitude at the front desk. They don't answer when you call the front desk from the room.
Obviously expectations depend on the circumstances. It's possible that people may decide to have a long stay in Terrace, but it's unlikely. But if, as we were, you're just passing through on a long trip and need an overnight stay, the Best Western fits the bill - it's clean, the bed was comfortable, breakfast was OK (and included in the price), and the price was reasonable.
This hotel has an issue with ventilation and cigarette smoke coming through the vent system. The price point for a nights stay is way over priced. The hot breakfast was good, nice touch with a custom made omelet for your enjoyment.
We were happy with our stay here for one night on our way up to the Cassiar. The room we had was very spacious (bordering on excessive) with updated fittings and furniture. The beds were also comfortable for a good night sleep. Central location within walking distance to most restaurants, eateries, etc. Also ample off street parking during our stay and minimal traffic noise. The highlight of our stay, however, was the service we received at breakfast the next morning. My apologies for not remembering their names, but the woman and young gentleman working at the breakfast station were wonderful to both our young children and very accommodating. More options for an included breakfast than we were expecting. We all left feeling very satisfied and more than ready to carry on with our day ahead!
I've stayed at the Best Western Terrace many times. Each visit, I am reminded how friendly the front desk staff are on arrival and at check-out. They seem to recall the frequency of my visits (thanks to the computer, I'm sure), but welcome me each time like I'm a good friend. The rooms are large, clean and well attended to. Definitely recommend staying here!
Very clean and quiet hotel and within walking distance to many restaurants, but the pub also served great food! The breakfast bar was great with the design your own omlete and all the other choices were fantastic!
It was a nice place to stay,, close to downtown,,breakfast was good, with omelets and waffles, with cereals and fruit,,the rooms are nice and clean,, also good parking,, I would recommend staying there.
Clean contemporary room, great mattress for a good sleep, ask for an extra towel as they only have 1 per person and they are not very big. They have a restaurant and serve hot breakfast made on order but there are no Vegan options other than beans and potatoes with salsa. And no other options in milk either if you don't drink dairy milk.
Old dated hotel. Smelly room with ceiling and wall damage. Hotel did not repair a shower temp mix valve reported early in stay. No screen on window. I would stay somewhere else next time. I will say the staff were really nice.
Bed was uncomfortable, room was so hot and thermostat wouldn't make a difference. Had to have the window open all night. TV remote didn't work. Paid full price but had no options for room service, and my breakfast bag included an apple, juice box and granola bar. So onto of paying full price had to buy dinner and breakfast. Staff was not helpful at all!
very dirty beds and one staff member was rude as fuk . make sure u look under your bed sheets so fukn gross. the staff member was so rude to my gf I just had surgery done and all he could say is take care of your man . and he watched her struggle with the buggy going up.the stairs and didn't offer to.help.her
short trip out of town to shop etc. in Terrace. Hotel was quiet but there were a few other guests and it had the usual features especially breakfast with omelets. Also hot tea available around the clock.
First two nights were horrible, room on left blasted music from 12 to 2am, next night other room guy was screaming and throwing things around. Also no covid protocols of cleaning were seen being done, door handles, elevator buttons. My husband and his brother who had a room on 4th floor,we were on 2nd before asking for quieter room ,both caught Covid.
Friendly staff at check in - later evening after a rough drive. Went to eat and came back to find a suprisingly old hotel. Hotel was clean, only one chair in room so one of us had to sit on the bed. Hotel was ok but needs updating. Shower pressure was good but temperature fluctuated between scalding and ice water 4-5 times during each of our 10 min ish long showers. Unfortunately didn't have chance to experience breakfast - which is supposedly amazing.
On arrival reception clerk was warm with a caring nature, she checked me in early. The hotel is a great combination of various renovations with just enough of the old left to take me back to visits made to the hotel back in time. I enjoy the combination of old and new. The room was comfortable for my needs, again some of the furniture is older but very well kept. The bed was very comfortable as a lways at this hotel. There is some street noise but it quiets down early being a small community. The breakfast included in is really good, part self serve part attendant provided. I checked out feeling fresh and rested. I will be back when i need a hotel in Terrace. Thank you all for a warm and caring welcome and stay.
Very knowledgeable and friendly staff, (Great attitude) with a neat and clean environment. Near to all amenity's. I will most certainly stay again. Highly recommend it to all that have to travel. Thank You.
Second time I have stayed here. Very good staff and the room was average. I have stayed in a lot worse. The room is clean and the bed was very comfortable. I was on the street side so the was a little noise but that is to expected. My colleagues were on the opposite side and they no issues. Good location to find restaurants if you don't want to eat at the hotel, which by the way is perfectly fine. Also the breakfast is nice with fresh made omelettes. Other than the shower head being a little noisy when I had a shower all was quite good and I would stay here again
Was in town on business; stay at a lot of mid-priced hotels. Terrace BW did not disappoint. Friendly greeting and efficient at check-in. After receiving my room card was told about WiFi and breakfast hours. Clerk said it's a great breakfast and I assumed it was the usual fair. Was totally surprised next morning. They had a made to order omelette station. Great breakfast, exceeded expectation. Hotel is a bit older but lobby, hallways and room was clean. Typical room amenities offered. It was snowing so walked across the street to Tandoori Kabab for dinner. Great food there.
I have to say my stay was a good one. I sure enjoyed everything. Especially the breakfast. Definitely looking forward to staying again in the future. Staff was friendly and very helpful. Location was great!
Check in was fast, and the front desk clerk ensured my BW points number was attached to my room. The hotel room was very clean, comfortable and nice. When checking out, the clerk was very nice. My continental Breakfast included waffles, sausage and hash browns
Older hotel but moderately priced and still in decent shape. Nice free breakfast where they make an omelette for you. Lounge downstairs is average at best. Staff is usually pretty friendly/helpful. Location is good too. Close to several restaurants and downtown area.
The first thing I want to say - the staff are very friendly and helpful at this hotel. When I arrived the elevator was not working for the evening - they did not hesitate to offer carrying my suitcase up the 5 flights of stairs. That itself speaks volumes. The breakfast was offerings were good. Lots and lots of carb based options. There are a few such as sausage and eggs in a slightly different section of the breakfast room. Now for the room itself. I know it claims renovated, however this looked to be only partially the case. The bed was fine. I travel with my own pillow so I can not comment on the hotel pillows. The bathroom is in need of renovation - particularly the toilet and the shower. Sink area is just fine with a nice leaver faucet. The toilet is extremely small and low. The shower head was fine but the tub and faucet are very old. Hot and cold taps are in obvious need of replacement. Getting the temperature correct was a little frustrating. The taps are also very low to the base of the tub which may make it difficult for people to bend over to reach them (and adjust when in the shower). The room itself looked clean. No issues here. The windows could also use replacing. There was actually moss growing inside on the window frames. When you arrive, you park in the back and either walk through the back entrance or around down the street to front door. With luggage - there is a ramp in the back but not in the front. You are downtown with lots of places for dinner around the hotel. The desk for working was sufficient. With a little more work this hotel would present better.
The staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast had a good variety even if you chose a more healthy breakfast. The rooms were clean and comfy. Location is nice and central with many restaurants and grocery stores within a 10-15min walk.
Arrived early like noon. NO issues with early check I n. Great room. The best was the awesome breakfast. Many items including made to order 8tems. Thanks hotel staff. You made the stay remembering and will be coming back.
I recently spent four days at the Best Western Terrace as I was working in Kitimat. Admittedly, the hotel is a very tired old building but I really felt the staff and wonderful breakfast made up for it. A wonderful and completely unexpected high quality breakfast which includes made to order omelette bar, baked beans, sausage, hash browns and really good coffee sealed my loyalty. Room I had was a bit small and 3 star at best. It did have a nice size fridge and TV seemed relatively new. WIFI signal was strong all the time. Hotel has lots of parking and is walking distance to several restaurants also. I do recommend this hotel and will stay here again for certain. But please note it is a solid three star hotel at best but I was won over by the 5 star service (all staff could work at the best hotels in the world. Truly awesome staff!) and great breakfast. I travel so much for work, it is the little things that matter to me.
Stay here for work sometimes. It's a great hotel. Great location, short walk to numerous restaurants and shops. Great breakfast with an omlete bar and lots of other options. Will definitely stay again.
Don't let the plain exterior deceive you, this hotel has been updated nicely and is very clean. We had a prompt and pleasant check in with a helpful and fantastic local restaurant recommendation for dinner, the room was quiet, clean and comfortable and the omelette station as part of the included breakfast was really nice. The check out was also prompt and pleasant, great staff!
The Room was clean so was the washroom, the bed was super comfy with a warm light duvet and the blinds worked the magic to keep the light out in the morning so I could sleep a little more, there was no noise outside in the aisle even if the hotel was completely booked due to an event in the weekend. I loved the breakfast that offered vegetarian and Vegan options like baked beans and fresh tomato salsa along with Almond Milk. Thank you! For those who eat meat they have the hot table with sausages and Eggs a la Carte and service at the table.
I've stayed here numerous times. Staff go out of their way to accommodate. Always smiling. Love the made to order omelette station for breakfast. Good fitness area with a treadmill and eliptical. Easy walk into downtown. Great wifi speeds. Great place too stay.
Do not stay at the Best Western located in Terrace. The breakfast ran out of items and staff was rude when inquired about replenishing the items. Air conditioning did not work at all and staff came up with every excuse. Our 2 children got very ill from the very hot heat and we finally had to leave the hotel half way through. When asked about at least the second night refund, they stated absolutely no. No bedside table lamp and the carpet by the beds were sticky. We are a hard working family and look forward to a holiday once a year. This was a waste of money, time and it was a horrible experience.
Very professional staff. Great location, really pleasant and clean rooms, but the thing that makes this such a good place to stay are the staff. All of the people are incredibly helpful and generous with their time and advice
This hotel was very clean, well maintained and in a good location downtown Terrace. The complimentary breakfast had the best selection we have experienced in other hotels including other Best Westerns. It had both hot and cold items and a made to order omelette station. The restaurant and lounge were very good as well and all staff including housekeeping were very helpful and friendly.
I have stayed in many different hotel chains, but the Best Western has been, by far, the best, for value, service, cleanliness and overall amenities. The Best Western in Terrace was great. I will definitely stay there again!
Booked a room with a jacuzzi tub. Upon arrival I was informed that the tap was broken in the room and I was unable to get another room with a jacuzzi. The hotel staff were good about this and offered me a king sized bed at a better price to make up for the broken tub. Was a disappointment to not get the room we wanted, but things happen. Other than that the room was very clean, and everything was in working order.
Very good value for money. Short walk to get some decent food and even a bar in the lobby. Super comfortable beds and always clean. My only gripe is the wifi. At times I need to work and the wifi is consistently bad.
The hotel is older but it is very clean. Great breakfast it has omelette bar that you pick your ingredients and they make it. Water bottles in the room was a nice touch. Pretty good parking. The only thing we didn't like was in the morning when house keeping was cleaning they just throw the dirty sheets and towels in thd hall till someone picks them up. Found that a little tacky. Who wants to see that when they are going to there room. Also we were just taking our luggage down to the car but not checking out yet we come back and she was in our room stripping the bed and emping the garage. Please give us a chance to check out first. Also take a room facing the front, the back faces the bottle depot and the homeless wonder back there. We were looking out the window and they just pee in the parking lot in front of us.
Excellent service with a smile and care! Help was provided when needed. Reception was really friendly courtiers and knowledgeable. Was made felt at home. Location is really nice. Close to other businesses and facilities.
The Best Western Terrace Inn is a typical Canadian travelers hotel. Free parking. Free internet. Free breakfast (with the obligatory paper plate). It does everything that you need for a short stay. The rooms have all of the things that you need - big television, fridge, air conditioning, coffee making facilities. All good. The only issue I had was at check in they told me that my room was already checked in to and that there was no more room at this particular inn. It took a bit of time to resolve and I was in my room.
Enjoyed our stay at this hotel, nice clean room. Very friendly staff, making sure you had a comfortable stay. Good location as well, in the downtown area and an easy walk to restaurants and retail stores. The best part and the biggest reason we chose to stay here, was the free hot breakfast. We had custom made omelettes, which were very tasty and filling, which got us off to a good start for the day. Good value when you consider the breakfast is included in the price.
Rooms were comfortable, and we were able to sleep well.Having a restaurant on the premises was very much appreciated, and relaxing after a long day! The staff was friendly, and we were greeted with a smile and hello each time we crossed paths!
Checked in late. Ate in lounge. Very intoxicated man in lounge. Bar tender keeps serving “Chuck” beers. “Chuck” although nice prob shoulda been cut off looong before. Chuck is to drunk to work the debit machine. Bar tender then gets mad at him, “Don't make me call the cops Chuck”. Um what? You over served him now your going to call the cops, for the man you ALLOWED to get that drunk in your bar? Bartender takes “Chucks” last half beer tells him he's cut off continues to be rude to Chuck. Chuck pays his bill, bartender kicks him out. She should probably refresh her serving it right. Food was good. Found a bra in my room that wasn't mine:( Bed was comfy although I questioned its cleanliness after finding someone else's underwear in the room.
The rooms are clean, the staff is friendly and efficient, the meeting area was nice and breakfast was great. There is something for everyone in the breakfast room. Coffee is always available. The internet was fast and I recommend the butter chicken in the restaurant. I was in a room next to the elevator but I slept soundly as it was very quiet.
Been staying here for years, always great to be recognized by staff when arriving. Rooms are so comfortable and the breakfast is delicious. Got to stay in the jacuzzi room on this trip and enjoyed our time
It was a great experience to stay in BEST western Hotel in Terrace. Clean rooms, easy and accommodating early check in and check out. Good breakfast too. Complimentary internet and bottles of water were a bonus.
I always stay here. I've been numerous times. The staff are amazing. Its older but has been updated. Comfortable beds. Huge TVs and great channels and wifi speeds. I was checked in by Ahman and continued to remember my name throughout the stay. Love the made to order omelet station and hot extra items. Lots of restaurants within walking distance. Great stay.
Don't let the outside fool you. This is a nice hotel with great staff and a good restaurant/pub inside too. The lobby looks renovated and the rooms are much nicer than the age of the hotel would suggest. I had especially great service from Zak at the front desk who went above and beyond to solve a small internet problem. That kind of service goes a long way to bring travellers back. Will stay at this BW again.
Ordered from the restaurant Beasley's the food was horrible wasn't cooked properly ingredients were not what they where are advertised as. breakfast was extremely poor no peanut butter or proper condiments food was cold and lack of stock such as bread orange juice was watered down machine was broken ketchup was refilled with cheap no name brand
Recently stayed at this hotel for five days and will go back as well as recommend to others. Ample parking, good location just off main street but very walkable to great surrounding restaurants and shopping.. Staff consistently helpful with extra effort given to making one feel very welcome. Omelet bar and breakfast is very good, including fresh whole fruit options. We ate in restaurant several times, quiet, great selection and service.
Hotel was clean and staff were friendly. LOVE the food in the lounge. Eat there every time and the staff are always really great. Breakfast is nice. Lots of choices. Omelets to order. Rooms are clean.
Although there were a few negative points they were outweighed by the positive. Check in was perfect. The staff was friendly and efficient. The room, although needed some updating, was clean and quite. For the first time, compared to other hotels, the a/c unit didn't sound like a 747 engine when it kicked in. The complimentary breakfast was one of the better ones. The freshly made omelette was really good. This hotel offers pretty good value.
My wife really liked this place for its friendly attitude and great value. The room was huge with lots of space and had a great view from the 5th floor of the coastal mountains. We found it very clean and an exceptional breakfast.
Always stay at BW Terrace because of the consistent quality service, quiet, clean rooms, now with new carpet! Bed was a bit soft but comfortable. Hot breakfast with custom omelette is a great start to the day! Very caring staff and management.
I've stay here numerous times. This place continues to be very good. Excellent staff all round. Its older but has been updated. The made to order omelet and breakfast station is so good. Convenient walk into downtown and shops. Always a great stay.
Our company used both business rooms for a couple days. Kirsten went above and beyond for our company. Very pleased with the service provided. Would like to return when all the renos are completed. Look forward to the mint chocolate candy's upon our return.
Excellent service and staff. I have stayed here multiple times. Breakfast is good ,with a wide variety of items. Food in lounge is good. Rooms are clean. Have spent time with my family here also had a great time. Thank you Best Western and the city of Terrace.
We were a group of 29 people and stayed 4 nights at the hotel. The service was outstanding. Every person working at the hotel was extremely friendly and helpful. We had a dinner buffet and plated dinner and the food and service were excellent! We can only highly recommend it!
We are on a road trip and staying at many different places. I checked in at the Best Western here in Terrace but was a bit put out when I realized I couldn't use a luggage cart because of the few steps at both entrances. Someone did come and assist and I got over it! The good part is that the room was great - nice fridge with small freezer, microwave, big big screen TV, coffee maker, good selection of tea and coffee, 2 complimentary bottles of water, hair dryer and other nice touches. The beds were comfortable and the pillows were soft (not like bricks in some hotels). It had a very quiet air conditioner as well. BW offered a breakfast --a hot breakfast. I couldn't believe that this was part of my room rate. Someone was there to cook an omelette -- I had about 15 choices to include in my omelette and I could also have hash browns, sausages, beans and salsa. At the other end, you could make yourself waffles and you had your choice of sweet buns, breads, cereals, hard boiled eggs, fruit, yogurt and delicious coffee. There were other things but just too many to list. This was a great stop on our road trip. The staff was certainly there to please and they did.
Established in 1911 as the Terrace Inn, this property has been a hub and focal point for business and leisure travelers alike for well over a century. It's location concomitant with friendly and personable staff have helped to establish it as one of Terrace's top hotels. It had been a good five years since my last stay here. How well has the Terrace Inn held up in the intervening half decade? I think the Best Western's location is prime real estate because, even though it's located in a somewhat seedy part of town, it is in the heart of downtown Terrace. Thus, getting from A to B with or without a car is a non-issue. There are a lot of eateries nearby: Checkers Pizza is right across the street; Tandoori Kababs is also right across the street; the wildly' popular Don Diego's is a mere few steps away, as is Shan Yan (see my earlier reviews for all of these eateries on this site). If you don't mind a short walk, then you have access to even more eateries, including: White Spot, Blue Fin, Pizza Hut, KFC/Taco Bell, Starbucks, Domino's, Bear Country, Lucky Garden, CHILL, Mr. Mikes and the Hot House (see my earlier reviews of these on this site). But if you stay here, you're not just close to various eateries – you will also find that you have no shortage of activities to see and do: George Little House is nearby; the Skeena Valley Farmers Market is a few minutes' walk up the road; Skeena Mall is close by, as are various art and gift shops along Lakelse Ave. As for the hotel, it is looking a little “tired” and dated on the outside, but you know what they say: One should not judge a book by its cover because, despite appearances, the Best Western Terrace is warm, welcoming and cozy. Parking for guests is located at the rear and is, in my view, somewhat limited but acceptable. Once inside, you're immediately hit with an interesting contrast – the lobby is ultra modern with fun LED lighting around the fireplace while the front desk area is fairly standard. Nevertheless, check-in was straightforward and easy and the front-end staff were personable and courteous. As far as rooms go, I had a “Queen Guest Room” and found it quite comfortable. The room contained all of your standard amenities, including a microwave, large fridge, coffee, two bottles of complimentary water, Mother Parker's tea (yeah!), 42in Telus Fibre optic TV, strong WiFi connection, a few plugs for mobile devices, and a bathroom that featured decent quality products like Pantene Pro-V shampoo. That said, I will note that the room's décor did strike me as kind of dated looking and rather drab – what with its various shades of red, brown and beige. The room seemed to be in a kind of transitional phase, mixing both an “old” and “new” look. My sleep quality, however, was excellent, thanks to the comfortable bed and pillows. In terms of restaurant facilities, the Best Western Terrace houses Beasley's, which specializes in both East Indian and North American cuisine. Having dined here previously for dinner I can say that the food quality is very good and the atmosphere is relaxed and casual (see my earlier review on this site). Also, in the mornings, the hotel features a complimentary breakfast buffet (not a part of Beasley's). The seating area here is large and open, making navigation quite easy. The selection of items is pretty impressive for a complimentary breakfast and includes both hot and cold items: sausage meat, baked beans, hash-browns, yogurt, fresh fruit, pastries, waffles and an omelette station. In short, the food options at the Best Western offer travelers an excellent value. With its central location, numerous amenities and superb customer service, the Best Western offers guests a quality overall experience. If you prefer being in the heart of the action rather than the outskirts, then this is the place to be!
This is an old property that has been renovated. The staff are very courteous but the property is "tired". I am not sure if I would stay a second time in spite of the excellent breakfast that comes with the room and in spite of the high quality of staff. Entrance to the hotel requires dragging your luggage up a few steps - most annoying when you arrive after a long flight. The single elevator is slow and the stairs up from the lobby is secured, thus, the only way up to the rooms is via the elevator. Give the hotel a try but don't expect luxury.
This Best Western in Terrace has a chef that will make up a customize omelette and serve to your table during the complimentary breakfast buffet. I have been to Best Western Plus and Best Western Prestige in other places where there is not such a feature. The omelette was made perfectly just like at a 5 star restaurant. The staff at reception and in breakfast buffet area were all very helpful and friendly. The room I stayed in was very clean and furnished tastefully. Unfortunately the restaurant area of the Terrace Inn is closed on Mondays.
Hot breakfast includes cooked omelettes right on the spot with hash browns and sausages and toast and juice and coffee for guests. Friendly staff. Clean rooms with Wi-Fi. Used the computer room during 5 night stay. Recommended for those flying out of Terrace due to downtown proximity.
consistency of the hotel, rooms and staff are what keeps bringing me and my family back. i know what to expect when i stay here and that is something i look for in hotel chains. 200 characters is a lot.
The staff is amazingly friendly. Entrance is a bit weird as it looks like they're closed from the outside and is not clearly marked. It's very c to shops and restaurants. Typical breakfast layout with a unique toaster.
I spent a night here. The choices in Terrance are slim. This was OK but the hotel needs spruciing up with brighter lights and new carpet. The staff was most helpful and it's a short walk to downtown. The bed was comfortable and the internet was quick.
Hotel was clean and tidy, staff were great. I would definitely stay here again. The bed was comfortable, high speed internet was great. cleaning staff were courteous and able to provide additional room supplies when asked.
Front line staff was extremely helpful and friendly. The beds are very comfortable. The hotel is perfectly located in close proximity to shopping and restaurants. Although the Terrace Best Western is an older property and requires some renovations it is extremely clean and the service is excellent.
Had dinner at the restaurant. I had the chipotle chicken bacon burger, it was so yummy. The rest of the meals were great also. Sam the server was awesome. Will definatly come back again. Stayed in a double room. Was very clean. Check in was fast and smooth. The breakfast is an added bonus as you get to pick what you want for an omelette and the lovely ladies make it for you...
I've stayed here many times and everytime the staff exceeds my expectations. I had planned to stay just 1 night. I checked out and headed to Prince Rupert. Unfortunately the highway closed due to snow. I doubled back and went back too the hotel to hopefully get another nights stay. Not only did I get a room but they checked me in immediately and gave me a room key. This at 9am. Divya and Kiran at the front desk are so helpful and they continue to make for a wonderful stay experience. The same goes for the other staff, especially in the breakfast area. The breakfast is amazing with made to order omelettes and hot pastries. So good. When I checked out the next day, Divya had already checked the road conditions and advised me everything was back open and I was good to go. The rooms have been updated and have central heat and ac. Very little noise. Very comfortable beds with comforters. Love the TELUS Optik TV with a large channel selection on a huge TV. Great place too stay. So central to downtown for a walk.
I wasn't sure what to expect when I got to Terrace, the hotel is in the older part of town, and the town is pretty industrial. The outside of the hotel is plain and older, not much to look at, but inside the hotel was very nicely renovated and the staff was great. Check in only took a minute, and they had everything ready for me. The room was smaller but well appointed and the bed was comfortable. It's not a fancy resort hotel by any means, but it's clean, comfortable and affordable.
Nice place for a night. Breakfast was full. Room was nice and clean and quiet. Staffing is minimal. Tv was hard to control. It seemed under renovation. Not sure. Good value. Bed was good. Not your normal best western.
clean...... parking lot was empty but we were still put in a room beside the elevator. Upon check in front desk would not acknowledge me. we should have known there was a problem with the heat as there were portable heaters throughout the lobby. we get into our room, it was fine enough.... no bedbugs. we left to get a bite to eat in the lounge. the bartender was great! very friendly. We went back to our room, it was still freezing cold. We called frontdesk, she said she would be up in 5 minutes. 10 minutes later we called again. she again said she would be right up. We asked if we could get another room. she said it would be the same. I said why, if you knew you were having heating problems why did you not let us know? Upon checkout I expressed my apologies to the evening staff for not being nice. Morning staff wouldn't acknowledge me. Maintenance was standing beside me, I tried to tell him the problems in the room. He ignored me as well. LOUNGE STAFF IS WONDERFUL! HOUSEKEEPING IS DOING AN AMAZING JOB. WE we were offered $10 discount!!!
Stayed here quite a few nights, and wasn't disappointed. Friendly, helpful staff, nice, clean rooms, free breakfast, wifi, and a short walk from a number of good restaurants. Price for high season was quite reasonable.
comfortable beds and cozy atmosphere. Gym lacks weights and doesn't have much of a workout area, however the stay was very enjoyable and the location is great. would recemend to anyone staying in terrace
Good Tidy Rooms, bathrooms could do with an upgrade, but good for large families with extra pull out couch bed, great breakfast, kids loved the waffles! Overall a good 2 night stay in Terrace, we would come back to this property, good value for money.
This is a great olace to stay. You are treated like it is your second home. The atmosphere is very warm and friendly. The staff are very friendly and helpful. It is central to downtown stores. The Breakfast is hot and very good.
We enjoyed staying at theTerrace Best .western. Enjoyed the hospitality of the staff. Facility was clean. Room more than et our needs. The breakfast was very good. Staff there was very helpful and courteous. We will book again there.
after you find the hotel hidden in the older part of town you will be pleasantly surprised by the great service and accommodation's, the food in the lounge is a must try as the food was great and so was the service defiantly a hidden gem.
Would not stay here again. Have been staying at another local hotel for 20 years but decided to give this property a try. Won"t happen again. Odour in the room was bad and I suspect alll rooms were the same. Travelled enough over the years.
My stay in terrace at this hotel was overall good , Rooms are generally clean and quiet , Room service never left water as said had to ask for it , On my last night the rooms across from my room were rented to natives and they were slamming doors and screaming in the hall till 430 am , called the front desk and the attendant could'nt leave as he was the only one on duty
Thank you for our stay in the Terrace Best Western. We were on medical trip to Vancouver for the day. It was a very long day and it was rainy and very dark when our plane landed in Terrace. The parking lot was well lit up and the parking was close to the guest entrance. As it was after midnight when we deplaned i was afraid our reservation would no longer exist. much to my surprise the room reservation was still there and we checked in. The elevator was in good working order which helps because of injuries sustained in motor vehicle accident, I am unable to carry any thing over a pound or walk too far. The only complaint i have is that the liquid creamo be in the room rather than the powdered cream which i am allergic to.
The room was small, but comfortable. Bedding could use some updating. Small bulky pillows, smaller than standard size pillows; blankets as opposed to comforters; small bath towels. My room was on the main street side, so much more noise. Maybe a room on the opposite side would be less noise.
The staff are engaging, helpful and genuine. The rooms are basic but comfortable and tastefully decorated. The lounge in well stocked. The meeting room used is oddly shaped and has load bearing pillars that divide it 1/3 and 2/3 lengthwise. The projector puts in the images on the wall, and it is positioned too low for the people in back, and needs to have a projector screen to reflect the brightness. It makes the presentation dark. Ventilation in that room was inadequate; windows had no screens, so flies would come in and the noise from the street was disruptive to the presenters. When we had to close the windows for noise, the room immediately heated up, and then we had to use the too small air conditioner on the maximum setting. It was located in the middle of the room, so right where all of the participants were. It was a no win situation, and wouldn't have been able to have been changed during our event. The attention from the staff to try to rectify the situation was admirable, and hopefully this poor layout can be corrected for future users.
The hotel was very clean and the rooms were well supplied with coffee, soaps etc. Free fast WIFi. Front counter staff friendly. Great complementary breakfast including ommlet bar with quick service. Easy walking distance to shops but no shuttle service from the airport.
I was only there for two nights, overall was pretty good, staff were very accommodating. Had problems hooking the TV up to the signal, had to call Technical support for the TV - I'm not a technological person - was very frustrating.
Rooms were really nice and really clean, we felt really comfortable. The breakfast was the most amazing hotel breakfast I've ever had at a hotel - they had an omelette station where you picked what you wanted and they made it right in front of you. Our room was right above the party room and they had CRAZY loud music until 1 am on Saturday night, which was really annoying because we NEVER stay up that late and we also had a meeting in the morning. We called front desk and they were pretty brusque with me I felt like they didn't really care. I think it would be good to not be on the 2nd floor so you don't hear crashing bass if there's a party. Loud music shouldn't be on that late in a hotel.
I was really looking forward to staying at a BW after many days in the north. Helpful staff. Hotel could do with some updates. Antiquated air/heat exchange - could not get heat for the requested setting. Carpets should be cleaned in the room if not replaced as well as in the hallways. It's a little worn down for a BW. The inside of the elevator could do with a cleaning/wipe as well as the doors - hand and finger prints. Bathroom sink taps appear to be in reverse order (hot/cold) as well as a loose toilet seat. Minor issues but they should be mentioned. That's not the BW standards I'm used to.
Enjoyed a restful and quiet sleep on a comfortable bed in a clean establishment. All employees were more than willing to help, and genuine in greeting you. They just switched to Telus fibre optics so watching tv was a treat.
Arrived at the hotel late but was still able to get a good meal in the lounge. Comfortable room, friendly staff, can recommend this hotel, although I only stayed overnight if I was going to do the same trip again I would rebook at this hotel.
Very Good Service. I would stay at the Best Western again. I really appreciate the location and the quietness. The staff are very professional, and very willing to assist their patrons accordingly. I would definitely recommend Best Western in Terrace, B.C.
Met my wife in Kitimat 53 years ago so made a return trip to see how things had changed. No Best Western in Kitimat so stayed nearby in Terrace. Hotel close to the highway so easy to venture out . Hotel clean and well presented with a breakfast area and facilities for an evening supper and drink.
Desk staff were very helpful and pleasant when we arrived. Breakfast was a bit of a learning curve for us UK citizens Main complaint was the lack of Bar staff and food servers, 1girl to do it all was not enough. The wife said the fish and chips were the best she's ever had
I travel extensively for business and stay at this hotel weekly. The front desk genuinely cares and goes out of their way to make you feel welcome. The level of professionalism is second to none in this town. The rooms are comfortable and well appointed and the hotel is located within walking distance from lots of restaurants. Let's not forget the breakfast with the omelet bar. Great hotel.
Older hotel but great service and food. Room was good bed comfy .. free breakfast one of the best I've had. Anything I needed they responded in 5 min. Nice to have everything there lounge, fitness, restaurant. Walking distance to most anything. Friendly great service from everyone.
Great location for walking distance to everything in town. The bar has some great food but unfortunately not open on the weekends. Thats ok as there is lots of great restaurants within walking distance. Really liked the breakfast with the omelette station. This is a huge bonus for breakfast! The staff are very professional and friendly. The rooms are great, but the bathrooms could use some updating and it would be nice to have laundry machines in the hotel for longer stays but those are my only suggestions!
The hotel was average just the hallways had a really bad bar or hangover smell to it. Probable needs to have there carpets cleaned. Would I stay there again? Probably hopefully after the carpets are cleaned in the hallway. Its a quiet place to stay though.
Professional, friendly staff. Hotel had a great complementary breakfast with a omelette station. The hotel was a surprisingly up to date facility for a northern town. Ask for a room at the front of the hotel on an upper floor for great views of the mountains.
Great staff and location. We were extremely well looked after. Loved the breakfast. For a long stay in Terrace B.C. it was the perfect place to stay. Restaurant in the hotel was great, and there are so many within a short walk for the hotel.
This hotel goes out of its way to be above average. The breakfast is better than most, the rooms were very well done and the TV is huge with OPTIK tv on demand. A very enjoyable stay. The location is in the heart of Terrace and close to amenities and restaurants.
I have stayed at this hotel twice now and enjoyed it just as much the second time! The hotel staff are friendly and helpful. The rooms are very clean and neatly appointed. The outside of the hotel is rather stark, but who cares. It's what's on the inside that counts. The breakfast in the mornings is plentiful and fresh.
Front desk staff were very helpful both on check in and check out. Good breakfast was included with the room. The room was clean and very quiet so very good for a restful sleep. I would return to this hotel
I was greeted with the best welcome and check-in I've ever experienced, getting me into an upgraded room when I was early than I should have been and even providing me with a little bit of sustenance to settle in. All the staff were warm, conscientious and very professional. The room was quiet and the bed very comfortable. The room was clean but the building is ageing and felt a bit worn. The internet was easy to use and fast. The breakfast was good. The only complaints were that the hair dryer didn't work and the jacuzzi tub could have used a better cleaning.
Great breakfast. Fantastic waffles. Really helpful and friendly staff. Hotel was older and over-priced. The hotel has a night club and is within walking distance of some enjoyable restaurants. Felt should been cheaper.
For the type and price of hotel. I've repeatedly found this hotel to have exceptional customer service, beginning at check-in, right through breakfast the next day. Highly recommend this hotel! I've stayed here before and had excellent service as well. Tried the gym and everything has always been at least what I expected and staff are eager to help or solve any issue.
What a beautiful location! The snow-capped mountains are stunning. The accomodations are superb. The Best Western provides every ammenity you need to make your stay comfortable. Our made to order omelets were so delicious. The well-stocked breakfast room provided a variety of nutritious fresh foods. We also enjoyed a wonderful dinner in their restaurant. We frequently stay at Best Western. This is by far the Best of the Best!!!!!!! Thanks to the management and staff.
This hotel is centrally located in Terrace, within walking distance to most of the cafés and restaurants that are worth visiting. The hotel staff were extremely gracious and welcoming upon arrival. That was very nice. The pleasing reception indicated that the hotel itself had a nice restaurant and bar as well. She described in detail what was on the complementary breakfast menu, and although sounding fantastic, my day started too early to try it. Comfortable from and sleep as well. I would stay here again!
I've stayed here several times and the staff are just fantastic. It's an older hotel but has been refreshed. Comfortable rooms and central ac. The breakfast is very good with made to order omelettes. Convenient walking into downtown. Great place too stay.
Staff excellent, friendly, helpful. Room very clean, modern and comfortable. Microwave, refrigerator and coffee maker in room. Complimentary breakfast was the best. They were able to accommodate my allergy plus if you are gluten-free, dairy-free, caffeine-free or anything else they have you covered! Coffee was excellent. Varied and generous selection of breakfast items and the omelette station was outstanding! Staff extremely friendly and helpful. Walking distance to shops, restaurants and even the local farmers market.
I like staying at this hotel, as it is comfortable and it has always been quiet during my time there. The breakfast is excellent (I do not recommend trying their juice though). I only book it for business trips though, as it would be too expensive for me to stay there for personal trips.
I have stayed at this hotel for business on numerous occasions, and my experience has always been excellent. The front desk staff (Divya and Kiranjeet) are always attentive, organized, and friendly. These two ladies make this place what it is, and I would never stay anywhere else. Location is good (right downtown), and the rooms are clean and comfortable with some nice mountain views. The manager Mo is great to work with when it comes to booking meeting rooms, and the meeting rooms are always set up promptly and comfortably. If I could give 100 stars for service, I would. To top it off, there is an excellent free hot breakfast every morning. Keep up the great work! ~Cody
This hotel is right downtown and is an older building from the outside. Inside it is laid out in an older style as well (the 70s) but the interior is very clean and has a okay décor. The rooms are very clean and comfortable. It has a good fitness room for its size. The complimentary breakfast is excellent having a wide selection of cold and hot choices. The staff are professional and are very helpful and friendly. I would recommend staying here.
If you want a hotel close to downtown and some to Terrace's restaurant offerings, check out the Best Western. The hotel is a bit dated with some attempts at renovating but it is showing its age. Breakfast appears to be included with room rate. Even fresh made to order omelets. Do check out the fillings though for freshness. The rooms are clean but the walls are paper thin so bring ear plugs if your a light sleeper. The towels could be thicker. Anytime I pay over a hundred for a room, I would love to get thick towels. Seems to be a rarity today. You can walk virtually anywhere downtown within 10-15 mins. If I come back to Terrace again, I'll probably stay there. The pizza across street is decent and the Mexican restaurant around corner was good too. I never tried the in hotel lounge. It was good for what it is.
I was at the hotel for a course I was facilitating. We were assigned to the Chinook room. It has very low ceilings and is not good for presentations using the over head projector. With several pillars in the middle of the room it makes the job of facilitating very difficult. However, the staff were excellent.
Good location with easy parking in back, friendly staff & comfortable well appointed room. Great view of the mountains & nice to have a window that opens for fresh mountain air. Good comfortable bed & nice breakfast with omelettes. Strangely hotel feels quite dark inside, must have been a good deal on brown paint lol
Without doubt one of the favorite hotels I stayed during my time in Terrace! Upon arrival we were warmly welcomed by the staff and general manager, (Mr. Zak & Mr, Mobashir) The staff was extremely friendly, the restaurant very flexible (appreciate this!) . I had two great evenings here, which obviously also added up to the experience. how i forget greetings amd smile of Miss Kiran when i checkout 4:00 AM, Thanks Best Western
High quality and enjoyable every stay, it's the main place I stay because the rewards program is easy to understand and build points I will actually use. I have tried the new hotels in our town and found it too expensive for what is available in those hotels,
We arrived in the evening to the hotel and were greeted warmly by hotel staff. The rooms were large and well appointed. There was tea and coffee in the lobby, microwaves and fridges in the room, and breakfast was included. It is a quick walk to the Safeway and other shopping in Terrace. My room overlooked the train tracks. As I always wear ear plugs, I didn't notice any noise. However they had blue lights pointed up at the hotel which created a bizarre blue glow. Since I like to sleep with the curtains open, I found this is a bit odd. The beds were comfrotable and the temperature controls made it easy to regulate the room. Overall a great stay and an excellent choice in Terrace.
Basic hotel, but quite comfortable. Would definitely stay there again! Nice breakfast. The omlette bar is a nice touch! The location is good. The front desk staff are friendly. Ample parking available.
This hotel was very nice! The staff were amazing, the rooms were nice and clean and the breakfast in the morning was excellent! Also the lounge was nice and the food was tasty... perfect place to stay for location, food, price and staff the whole package. Highly recommended.
Dated on the outside but modern and comfortable on the inside. Great restaurant great beds good service. Not the quietest place at night but would consider going back. Good continental breakfast just wish it started earlier.
I was amazed to see their customer service and facilities. It was a complete package. Attended a meeting and found the meeting room up to the mark with all the latest technology. Rooms are decent and well equipped. The front desk lady Divya was very helpful and she had the smile all the time. lovely people to stay with. I don't think any other hotel in the area can give this kind of excellent service. Lovely, thumbs up the front desk staff.I noticed something which should have not happen in front of guests. Staff should be treated respectfully
Room was nice, bed comfy. Staff very professional and friendly. The free breakfast had an omelette bar, a nice touch. The business centre was hand for a last minute print I needed. Free parking outside. A good stay overall.
Very clean, great beds and staff very friendly. Food is the best in town! Pub was not too loud and reasonable prices. Stay here every time I'm in town. See great improvements every time i come here. Love BWTI!
I attended a company meeting in this Hotel. And stayed in this property. All the Stuff was professional. I was surprised to see all technology in this his Hotel wow. I enjoyed lounge food and the best part is the breakfast live cooking omelet station wow. Thanks for the Best service. See you guys next time.
Very friendly staff, great breakfast, good restaurant. Overall a pleasant surprise. One draw back is the walls seem a bit thin so you can hear others in the halls and other rooms. Overall, a pleasant surprise. I will stay here again.
Hubby and I travelled to Terrace on the bike for my friend's wedding and stayed at the BW, which we trust to meet expectations around comfort and cleanliness. We weren't disappointed. On arrival, we were upgraded on the spot to a king suite - a welcome act of kindness after a long journey. The room had generous proportions, was refreshed with modern furniture and offered an updated washroom, which was clean and in good order. There's a little work-out room on site, also very clean, which was well appreciated. Breakfast was excellent, and well laid with diverse choices. The property was kitty-corner to an enterprise car rental - very convenient. I would stay again.
We recently held a workshop for Training Water Monitors and found the meeting room, catering and service to be excellent. The catering manager was very kind and had the room set up to meet our needs perfectly. The coffee, tea, freshly baked goods as well as the provided lunches were served on time and enjoyed by all. We would not hesitate to recommend this conference facility for future workshops. The staff were very professional and very helpful. Thank you!
We held our annual award gala at the Terrace Best Western in their Skeena Room. From the moment you walked in you knew they were there to impress. They table settings were beautiful with matching chair covers and lighting to match our company colors. They took the time to discuss layout and preferred options for the evening. When it cam to dinner time they raised the bar once again. The meal was excellent, staff were attentive and everyone walked away full and happy! As we moved into the night there were staff around for any questions we had and ready to help us as needed. The bar was well stalked and the bar tender worked hard to try and remember preferred drinks. The only challenge was we had to close down around 11 as sound can travel up into the rooms. But in the end everyone was so happy with the evening that no one noticed. Excellent service and Food, They helped make a good night Great!
Friendly knowledgeable front counter service. Nice rooms. Great breakfast included. Nice pub with good food menu choices. Found the pub waiting staff was a bit unorganized but friendly. Pizza and Chinese restaurants close by.
My first stay with Best Western Terrace Inn has been very impressive. Here for 3 days for business both hotel rooms and meeting rooms/catering used. All of the staff were absolutely amazing and hospitable - they should take pride how friendly and helpful they are. Rooms were clean with a fridge and included 2 complimentary bottles of water. Our business used the meeting rooms and catering services. The catering services staff were on top of things, including when we had imminent requests for support. Only downside for me was the gym - universal gym did not work well (could not adjust hand sets and weights were difficult to adjust. Would suggest adding a few gym mats for those who wish to do core strengthening. Overall a great experience. Will definitely stay here when I come back to Terrace.
Mo and his team set up a meeting room to meet our needs, tables, conference call equipment and projector plus great food for lunch and hot coffee for our breaks. If you need a meeting place in Terrace, try the BW Terrace Inn.
We stayed there for 2 nights. Just loved their lavish breakfast, live omlete station is the most attraction of breakfast and is absolutely free which is more exciting. Staffs were super friendly and courteous. Well cleaned guest rooms and also have room service available which made our stay even more comfortable.Centrally located which gives easy access to restaurants and shops. Whatelse need more!! Definitely will return.
This was for a long time the only half decent hotel in Terrace. They did do a reno a few years ago but the building is very old. On the upside breakfast is 4/5 for a free one. The location is close to downtown. The down side is the building is old and that's something you can't fix with a reno. If you like really hot showers you run a real risk of getting burnt as the water temperature goes up when some one less flushes. Then for some reason I had a portable AC unit in the room with no window screen where they had the air tube. As well for whatever reason the cleaning people guess never move the shower curtain because there was a pile of hair and dirt under where it rested on the tub. Now that a Holiday Inn express has opened I would say they need to up there game a bit to compete with a brand new Hotel.
We only stayed one night due to a trip into the Nass Valley for a few days. Our check in was amazing; we had our grandson with us for the day and Divya at the Front Desk made us all feel special and was on the same wave length as our 12 year old grandson. We shared lots of fun laughter. Check out was perfectly done as well. The breakfast service is the best we have ever had at a BW with many choices, very fresh products and a few menu items cooked to order...and all complimentary. Service in there was by Pragya; same excellent service as the Front Desk...professional, caring and so very personable. Kudos to the Terrace Best Western...we wouldn't even think of another Hotel in the area due to your service and will be back for a longer stay next time.
Older hotel on outside but good hotel. Excellent service and breakfast. The eggs, bacon and other foods were cooked at the hotel. Not your usual express breakfast. Best hotel in town. One little problem, room 220 the air conditioning did not work. The thermostat would move to lower temperature, the air conditioner appeared to turn on but the temperature would not lower. The night staff brought us a fan and we opened the window. The staff offered to move us but we were tired, unpacked and did not want to move . I mention this as When we checked out, I was Informed the maintenance man said the air was working fine. This was July 26 or July 27 2016.
My husband and I stayed here twice in the last week. Both times our room was very comfortable and clean, and all of the staff was so warm and friendly. They went out of their way to make us feel welcome and to let us know they appreciated our business. Way above and beyond the scope of what their jobs require. The absolute best Best Western we have ever stayed at. Thanks to each and every one of you for making our visit something very special.
Staff went above and beyond when I realized I left my wallet in my room once I was at the airport. They had a taxi bring it to me at the airport! I doubt many hotels would go to that extra effort. The taxi driver didn't even want to accept any money for the trip. wow.
i know what to expect when i stay at the BW in Terrace, staff is very helpful and the snacks upon check in are a nice treat. attended a wedding at this venue and it was a great space to host a small wedding for a couple hundred people
My husband and I stayed there last night. The room was clean, king bed was very cozy and comfortable, and the room was well equipped. We enjoyed an excellent meal by room service from the hotel's restaurant. I had butter chicken with bread and mango pickles. It was delicious. My husband has the steak and baked potato which was also excellent. Desert was apple pie with ice cream and Tiramasu. Yummy. Breakfast was included in our room price however, we were running late and didn't have it this time. We highly recommend staying here. The staff was professional and welcoming. We will definitely stay there again when in Terrace.
The room was satisfactory, though I could hear the party next door. Customer service, however, was not satisfactory. Non-responsive contact number, no early check-in, no attention to needs upon arrival. At the time of booking, I was unable (after at least 4 attempts) to reach anyone at the number provided on the website. When I finally called the 1-800 number, the representative apologized for this and helped me book my accommodation. I stated I would need early check-in the rep said, "No problem!" This was not the case. I arrived at 11:15 am and was not able to check in until 3:00. I was obliged to use the public bathroom to change clothes and prepare for a business meeting and was offered no accommodation or amenities. I sat in the lobby for 2 hours, in anticipation of a business meeting and still was not able to check in. Although the check-out experience was efficient, the arrival experience was extremely frustrating and unacceptable. Will not stay there again.
Internet was so intermittent; worked for 15 minutes, then off for 20 minutes, very slow, almost dial up speed. Thermostat did not work, temperature stayed at 24 C the whole night . Rooms are old, need updating fairly soon. Front staff were nice, so that helped somewhat
Great staff, great food, Pub on site. I cant say enough how friendly the staff are here at The Best Western Terrace. This should be your go-to hotel in the Terrace area. Thanks again for the great stay. See you in a month or so!
I've stayed a few times now and every time they do better than the last. Always improving. This time I came in on a Saturday and lots of people painting and doing special cleaning. I had a corner room on the top floor which was very quiet as was the central air conditioning. The staff are all so friendly and helpful. The included breakfast was very good. They also have a small menu you can order from if the buffet isn't too your liking. Just great. I was eating and one of the staff came by to every table and asked how everything was and if there were any suggestions. Just great service. I used the fitness centre and the machines were well maintained with no squeeks or rattles. I would suggest some floor exercise mats for stretching. There is an attached restaurant but Don Diegos across the street is very good. Very good hotel experience.
We stayed here to break up the trip from Stewart to Prince Rupert, but that turned out to be a mistake. This hotel was pretty bad. First of all, it was a bland old building, which probably should have been a warning. The room was functional, but it was rather old and odd. When I had made my reservation several months before, I suspected that this place might not be very good, so I booked a suite in the hopes that I would get the best room in the hotel. If this was the best, I'd hate to see the rest of them. The place really needed an upgrade. The furniture was pretty old and worn. The room had an old-style popcorn ceiling which was cracked and stained from water leaks. One odd thing was a 10-foot by 20-foot area behind the couch that was completely empty, and seemed to serve no purpose. It's like they wanted to add square-footage to the room, but didn't know what to do with it. The bathroom was odd, too. The sink, towel rack and tub were extra low, like the room was designed for midgets. It wasn't a handicapped-accessible room because there's no way the bathroom was big enough for a wheelchair. Everything was just strangely low. The heating was also odd. It was cold in the room when we arrived. We turned up the thermostat and went to bed, but we were a little cold all night. In the morning I noticed a portable space heater in the corner. Doesn't the central heating work? Are we supposed to use the space heater to heat the room? If so, it would have been nice for someone to tell us that. The WiFi was pretty annoying. It would time-out periodically, and we had to log into it over and over using an all numeric hard-to-remember user name. The restaurant was nothing special and a little pricey. A better choice with an amazing selection of comfort food is Boston Pizza a little ways down the road. From our window we could see a Days Inn a couple of blocks away, which looked nicer from the outside. I wonder if that would have been a better choice. Actually, the best choice would have been to just keep driving to Prince Rupert! The following night, we paid only slightly more at the Crest Hotel in Prince Rupert, and it was vastly better.
My last stay at this location was not a pleasant one by any means. I was planning on not ever going back there, but I needed a hotel and well this was my only choice. What a difference between visits. They have done some lovely upgrades to the rooms. Clean, refreshed and comfortable. I can't believe it's the same place. The staff are friendly and the breakfast was hot and fresh. The eggs were not just scrambled they were Mexican eggs and so delicious. The coffee was also good and ham cooked perfect. I will be back again and please disregard my previous review. This hotel has definitely fixed their issues and seized the opportunities they had. Well done. The only thing that needs a tune up is the internet. It was hard to send reports.
Always a pleasure to stay at the Best Western Terrace Inn! The staff are incredible and the amenities, food and location are excellent! The continental breakfast is immense and always hot. Service with a smile from everyone!
Best Western is the best hotel currently in Terrace but that isn't saying much based on the other hotels. The positive to the hotel is the breakfast the negatives are the comfort of bed and unsafe feeling around the hotel
Stayed two different nights there during my trip. Was quiet and comfortable. Staff was very polite, friendly and accommodating. Hotel was a bit run down, and in a seedier part of town. But was close to the downtown area so easy to walk. Breakfast was included. Standard fare, good coffee. Not wheelchair or disability friendly as you must go up and downstairs to reach the lobby from the outside.
1st room had no a/c 2nd room had water damage on ceiling as it was on the top floor. Blah Blah Blah. Not much more to say but overpriced room. Did not meet expectations. Will not return to this type of poorly looked after hotel
Had a very good stay at the hotel. The restaurant food was delicious, the staff very friendly. Would recommend this hotel to anyone that goes to Terrace. Will probably stay there if I go to Terrace as a vacation and for any other time I go there for business.
Visiting with colleges; box stand hotel but some good curries etc on menu.cajun chicke was ice. We had the meats and starters, qute a few local beers and wines. Quick booking in/out by lady on desk. Based in town centre. Clean throughout and large car park at rear; go see the mini irish village towards tbe right side of hotel rear
I was staying at Best Western for business purposes, was greeted warmly at check-in as well as each time I came into the lobby someone greeted me and asked how my stay was. Staff were very friendly and offered to help with any request I had. The breakfast was lovely and totally appreciated as it was ready to go during my early morning trek as well as when I had a little more flexibility. The bed was comfortable and the black-out curtains were great. All was Great!
This hotel is in a great part of town and is very central to everything. The hotel staff are attentive and friendly. There is a wide range of hot breakfast items and restaurant food was wonderful as well.
I stayed at this property for one night while on business in the Terrace area. The hotel is in a quiet area in town, with several restaurants at walking distance. Parking is at the back in an area where some shady characters were lingering in the afternoon and night. The property looks a bit old, but the rooms and the public areas are clean and well maintained. Bed was good enough for a night sleep and the bathroom has all amenities you require. Great buffet breakfast included with good variety of hot and cold items.
The outside of the Hotel, don't let it deter you, it's old and tired. However the rooms are excellent and have been upgraded. The lobby is old as well however the staff are friendly and very helpful. I must also mention that the staff are very cheerful as well.
Staff are great, helpful and polite. The room was clean, and furniture was modern. Cable selection was good. Wifi did drop off alot, so when it did work it was good but like I said it can drop off or be spotty most of the time. Breakfast was excellent, and there is a big selection to choose from. It does have hot breakfast also. The room was average for quiet as in the evening I was there at 3 am there was a street cleaner going by and you could hear it, so windows are not insulating sound well.. Overall it is a nice place to stay.
I had never been to Terrace so not sure what to expect. My room was clean. Nice to have a fairly large fridge and loved having a microwave in the room. Decent basic exercise room with pretty much all you need for a decent workout. Also only a half block to the liquor store for cold beer after you are done. Loved the way they do breakfast. Lots of options for the buffet but you can also order of the menu (all included). I ordered poach eggs to go along with some of the buffet items and they were perfect every time. Great staff !!!!!
This hotel is one of the best ones I stayed in. Very courteous and helpful staff. Clean rooms. Nice restaurant with lavish breakfast. Very personal and caring staff. Internet was excellent and overall service was extremely good. Worth staying !
I usually stay here for business and I really like it. Everyone is very friendly and try to get you what need. The restaurant has amazing Butter Chicken and the Continental Breakfast (with the price of the room) is extensive...great eggs! Even the lounge is nice and makes a super Bellini (ask for Shelley!)
I work in Terrace occasionally and have tried many of the hotels there. From now on I'll be staying at the Terrace Inn. Location is great for access to downtown after work, such as restaurants and shopping. Parking is convenient, rooms are comfortable and clean, breakfast bar is great and there is a little bar for a snack or drink in the evening while writing reports on your days work.
I was happy with the quality of this hotel. There is an in house restaurant/bar which made in convenient. There was also an included breakfast option which made the morning much easier. I would recommend this hotel if travelling to Terrace.
Spent a week in terrace on business staying at the Best Western. The appearance from the outside was not great. It doesn't have any grounds being right on the sidewalk with parking behind and off to the side. I got inside and found the staff to be very friendly and helpful. My room was on the 3rd floor street side. It was clean and everything was in good shape. From the exterior the building looks like it's been around for a while you would think it might be rundown but the interior is well looked after and very clean. The breakfast is included and featured all the usual fare. I found the eggs better than most other hotels and they did offer to cook eggs separate from the buffet. This I hadn't found at any other hotels that offer the buffet breakfast. Over all, this Best Western is worth staying at and the next time I'm in Terrace I will be staying here.
Carpet in the room is not clean and has stains, internet is very slow and at times hangs, I found it overprice for the quality of accommodation and rooms being offered compared to other hotels I stayed in before.
wifi was poor, and due to that likely will not stay here again as stable internet needed for work. did not matter the time at all, it was always poor. the hotel exterior looked like an old hospital. the staff were very very good. esp at restaurant & lounge. food was very very good
I was working in BC for 2 weeks back in Nov and spent 2 days in Terrace. I don't typically stay at Best Westerns but there was not much choice in Terrace. I was a bit concerned by the pictures I saw of the hotel on Tripadvisor before coming but I was pleasantly surprised to find the room looking a lot cleaner, more modern and more tastefully decorated than the photos I had seen. They must have renovated some time recently. The front desk staff were extremely friendly and helpful. I ate at the restaurant the first night and found the menu to be fantastic and, again, the staff quite friendly. Breakfast is included in the stay and was pretty good. Not enough ketchup to go around at breakfast but that's just me nitpicking. The hotel was walking distance from the casino we visited for work but was also close to other shops and restaurants. I would definitely reconsider my stance on staying at Best Westerns in the future based on my positive experience here. I wish I could give it 3.5.
I stayed two nights at The Terrace Inn on a business trip. This place is clean and quite adequate, actually quite nice rooms, but is a bit expensive. Once the three hotels currently being construction in town open up, I expect there will be a drop in price. Breakfast is included which is nice. The restaurant isn't open but the bar has a full restaurant type menu to choose from. I didn't eat there so can't comment.
Stayed at the Best Western Terrace Inn for 3 nights. Room was nice, hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. The free breakfast is a huge bonus! I will definitely recommend this hotel to others and will definitely stay here again. Thank you Best Western Terrace!
I arrived to a missing reservation, but to their credit they put me up for the night. I was taken aback by room rate of $150 + taxes. This is not the Bayshore or even the Doric Howe (Vancouver Hotels). This is a Best Western in a work town. Rooms like the one I had should be about $85 -$100 at most. The amenities don't support the ask. I found hair on the floor of the bathroom, which was not nice. They should do a better job of cleaning the room.
We had a suite room. Newly renovated, nicely appointed rooms. The breakfast in the morning is worth while, and the staff at the hotel make you feel like you are staying at an expensive hotel. The restaurant downstairs has delicious Indian Food, you HAVE to try the butter chicken. Coming from Surrey it's worth it!
The hotel is fabulous in many ways with friendly staff providing excellent service, delicious food, and lovely rooms. The room was a home away from home. As always, the hotel delivered a high-quality impressive experience. If you come to Terrace Best Western is the best place to stay. Special thanks to Lisa for preparing me special breakfast and Divya for a warm and friendly welcome and take care of all my needs.
Stayed here in mid January for 1 night, room was clean, bed was comfortable and the tv was a decent size. Free breakfast was typical for this class of hotel, waffle maker, some fruit, cereal and scrambled eggs. Hotel is a bit older so one hears sounds from plumbing and snow removal. All in all a reasonable nights stay and I'd stay here again.
We're driving from Florida to Alaska, so, needless to say, we've stayed in quite a few hotels over the past week or so. This particular hotel, however, was the best. From the moment we checked in our stay was a very positive experience. The dinner was excellent (every dish our party ordered was delicious), every employee we encountered went out of their way to be helpful, and the room was very clean and comfortable! We would most definitely stay here again.
All I can say is that the front desk staff is very courteous. Especially the evening receptionist Ahmed he was very welcoming and took good care of us and as well as Kiran she always had a smile on her face and kept us smiling. But Ahmed made us feel like we were at home he was very welcoming. His customer service was exceptional. The rooms were decent since its an Inn so basically what your basic knowledge is about an Inn it has it all. I had read the reviews and I could definitely say that it was nothing like I read it has improved a lot for the best. The management still needs improving as it can be seen but the employees are working very hard and well. All I can say is that we really enjoyed Ahmed's time and effort towards us. Definitely, will be staying there again.
Excellent accommodations from the delicious breakfast to the comfortable beds and excellent internet service. Centrally located, very clean and wonderfully efficient and friendly staff. I highly recommend the Best Western Terrace Inn.
I read the reviews and was pleased with the accommodations, service and hospitality at the Best Western Terrace. There was a great restaurant on site that served Indian food that was fantastic! The service was also very good and prices were fair. The complimentary breakfast also exceeded my expectations, I assumed it would be a standard continental, but there were many hot items including omelettes, sausages, waffles and hash browns as well as the usual cereals, baking, and toast, I would certainly stay here the next time I visit Terrace and would feel the price was very fair the service received.
This hotel is located right beside train tracks which you hear all night long. The rooms have been updated recently but the beds are very hard, there is also no way to turn on AC in the room so you have to put your window open and the noise is even louder. Only Plus is good breakfast and large tv in room
We stayed over a long weekend and there was minimal staff on location. The room was not made up everyday unless we asked for it. The rooms are very dated and need an update. The hotel is quite old in general. There is little hot water in the morning when everyone is showering and the boiler is very noisy. The breakfast though was very good. Every day there was a new menu and its free. It is an OK hotel to stay for the night passing through but after that it is not good.
Hotel rooms are newly renovated and are pretty clean. More care with the painting and renos would make the hotel much more appealing...like not painting over fixtures. Still nice to see the owners keeping the appearance of the hotel current. The breakfast is really lacking...it used to be much better. Both days the food in the warmers were cold...eggs, bacon, sausages, pancakes and french toast. They either never turned the warmers on or they were so low that the food was kept at room temperature. This made most of the food inedible. More care in this is certainly required. Staff is always friendly and they do try hard. The hotel will need to address their prices...as they are higher than the other hotels and their food will need to be kicked up a notch to compete with the two new hotels and even the newly renovated Days Inn. Still my go to hotel in Terrace...7 years and counting.
The rooms are the best in town, but the customer service is lacking. They're not overly cheerful or friendly and I've had some negative experiences. For example, considering how busy Terrace hotels have been, I thought there would be some forgiveness when I had to leave town for an emergency and cancel my reservation. I know they had plenty of time to full the room, and I'm sure they did fill the room, but the person I spoke to was rude and charged me full rate for a late cancellation. I will stay here if my preferred hotel is fully booked, but poor customer service can sour a good hotel.
The room temperature was 28+ degrees Celsius when I walked in, heating fan a full blast. Opened window and attempted to turn on AC to cool I down, AC did nothing except spew more hot air, turned it all off and. decided to go for dinner and when I returned it was still hot in the room, contacted front desk to complain, he came up and told me to turn the AC, told him already tried that and doesn't work, insisted I do it anyway saying it will take 15-20 minutes for cold air to get there. 20 minutes later it was still blowing hot air and the room was back up to 28 C. I asked to be moved to different room but was told they're sold out. Gave me an osculating fan and said it would help. Told me they have been getting work done on their HVAC system (installing digital thermostats) in order to correct this problem. An earlier TA report mentioned the same issue, plus the next morning in the lobby hear other people complain about the same problems with their rooms. Took 15% off the bill, but still, the rate charged even after the discount do not reflect the quality one should receive for the price paid. While to décor and room appeared nice in first glance, a closer look revealed several stains in the carpet as well as dirty walls, I'd say there is a lot of lipstick on this hog. On a brighter note, the breakfast was good. Looking around Terrace the next day there appears to be 2 new hotels under construction, one as you come into town from the east and one as you leave going west on HWY 16, no indication as to what brand yet. Hopefully by spring there will be some additional competition in town, Terrace desperately needs it!
We visited family in Terrace for Thanksgiving and the following week. Our stay at the Best Western Terrace Inn was the best! The hotel is very clean and the rooms are very comfortable. Breakfast was included with our room and we greatly enjoyed that meal every day. The hotel is located close to the center of town and was the perfect location for us to experience the great outdoors that Terrace has to offer. Hotel staff are all very friendly and helpful. It was a great week! We will absolutely stay at the hotel again.
My 2 bullet rating might be a little generous, but saying it is terrible is a bit harsh. Room is average but what i really did not appreciate is a room at 25.4c and no aircon other than opening the window... for close to 200 i would expect better. so many better options i would guess in Terrace.
I stayed here for one night with a wildlife photography tour group. The hotel looks a little old from the outside but the bedrooms are typical best western and were clean, comfortable and although slightly hot when I arrived I did manage to get it to cool down. Although I have to say that the air conditioning was a little slow to respond but luckily the window opened so i could get some cool air into the room. The breakfast was OK but not exciting. Very basic but adequate is the way I would describe it.
I have stayed here over many years for business. Excellent helpful staff right from check in to check out. My impression is that they do care that you have a good experience while at the hotel. The rooms clean and tidy and the bathrooms are always nice and clean. This is very important. Hot breakfast (included) is always very good. I ate at the hotel restaurant for the first time and ws pleasantly surprised at the quaility of the hamburger. Excellent fries.
I've stayed at about 6 of the places in and around Terrace and this is my favorite. It doesn't look like much from the outside but has been updated throughout the inside. New beds and huge tvs. Too bad they went with blankets instead of comforters. Can't say enough good things about the staff. From the front desk to the housekeepers and breakfast people. So great. The included breakfast was very good and much better than allot of the bw plus locations. So close to walk to downtown and so many restaurants. Don't hesitate to book.
I feel disappointed by this hotel. The staff is super friendly and I have a feeling the customer service would good quality if I ever asked for anything, but the condition of the rooms are below comfortable. I drew a bath and when I stepped in, the walls of the tub were slimy. There are paint patches all over the washrooms to mask dents and holes that look like they've been filled with toothpaste. The room had this funky smell to it..so I kept the bathroom fan and light on for my whole stay (the fan and light are on the same switch). The curtains are dusty, and this room is under average. This is one of the best hotels in Terrace unfortunately, so I may try a B&B next time...
Excellent small town hotel with decent restaurant and free breakfast. The eggs were real. Rooms pretty standard. staff helpful and polite. We were there for a conference which provided a simple lunch.
The walls are thin. As I writet this I am listening to my neighbors and their regrettably lengthy discussion. This is interspersed with the sound of the trains a few hundred yards away (which I prefer to my neighbors to be honest). There are not that many choices in Terrace for a hotel, but this is clean if worn and central to the downtown (although there is not much that is not). A nice staff person in a faded lobby next to a worn down lounge. I might try a B&B next time, this is very below average. I do hope my neighbors are early to bed types...
