New girl on front desk doing an awesome job being trained by another member of staff, then some guy walks in, he had been on his cell phone outside when we arrived, and he took over like a bull in a china shop. Caused some consternation with the original trainer, poor new girl stuck in the middle. No elevator at this hotel so be aware of the number of stairs you have to lug up and down. Weird hotel layout, amazing indoor pool, surrounded by other rooms. Hot tub jets were blowing up, not into the tub itself so a little weird. Huge pool area and due to its location the entire hotel reeked of chlorine.
This hotel is perfect if you find yourself in Superior for the night (or an extended stay). The location is good and the staff are friendly and helpful. It is an older property but the rooms are clean and the beds are comfortable. Everything you need is here
My last BW stay from my trip & this location did not disappoint. My room had a green/garden view, very large and quiet. Slept well & enjoyed the hot tub which was a cut above. Breakfast was really good, & staff very pleasant. Located in the historical area & lovely views of the river & bridge. Will remember this one when traveling.
The view from the hotel towards the long bridge was cool. However, the hotel has been aged but we liked the heart of staff with their welcome attitude. They gave us free tickets for beer and snacks when we arrived from a tedious trip. The room was a little bit moldy but it did not bother us at all.
Dirty worn out flooring. Mattress is 20+ years old. Smells moldy. Only reason we stayed was there were no other rooms available. The pool area was clean. We were tempted to sleep in the pool area. The room was scary. An ozone air treatment unit was in the room when we arrived. It didn't help the musty smell.
Staff were incredibly kind. Everything was dirty. Blood and other stains on carpet. Mold all over bathroom. pull out couch horribly uncomfortable. Noise was horrible from both the door and window side.
Great front desk staff, knowledgeable nice and helpful. Free happy hour m-t 5:30-7 wine, beer, shots, cheeseball, crackers, taco and dip!! Great pool room excellent hottub, great beds. Exceptionally clean everywhere. Brekky bacon, cheese omelets great staff. Whip cream for waffles. Well done Bridge view stafff!! Noon checkout, Yes please
Hotel just across the bridge from Duluth. Room is showing some wear & tear: shower faucet & handle loose, wood slats sticking out from the base of the bed, bathroom door nicked up, mattress on one bed was sagging. Two youth soccer teams were at the hotel, pool area obnoxiously loud with kids screaming. We were originally in a pool view room, we requested a move & front desk promptly found us a different room. Breakfast had a number of good options.
They were very accommodating at check-in to find a room on first floor for handicapped mother. The free g Happy Hour was nice surprise after spending all day traveling. The mattresses were nice and firm. The pool and hot tub were great. The free breakfast had a wide variety of choices. Would definitely stay there again
Property was easily found, neat and clean. Front staff at checkin was exceptional as I came with family late at night and very tired. Breakfast was great with lots of options.
Reservation was messed up, reserved a queen suite but got a regular room. This was fixed, but we ended up poolside which was very loud. Breakfast was amazing, room temp comfy, bed comfy, the best shower head ever (big square one) Room wasn't vacuumed well, nor dusted or wiped down well. It wasn't terrible, could've been better for over $250 a night for 3 ppl. I got a discount for medical travel, so that made the cost more in line with minor issues.
We had a wonderful stay. They are very friendly. Rooms make you feel at home. Wonderful pool area...
This hotel has hospitality that makes you feel like you are special. You get to know the staff names as Derek in the breakfast area is super friendly and Tena does a happy hour in the evening. They even do a guest of the day. The pool and hot tub are centrally located and have a dome so its sunny and warm. The house keeping staff is smiling. A casual environment away from the hustle and bustle of Canal Park but still close to everthing the north shore has to offer.
The only saving grace was the breakfast. The fitness room equipment was broken, the room was dirty and very cramped. No one could use the sink without turning on the lights for the whole room. The building is very run down and cramped. The walls are thin, and you hear everything.
There were issues with room placement -not in our group block, hot water- there was none (because they have an “old water heater” and we were told to wait for it to catch up to shower), moved rooms and the new room remote didn't work, very unprofessional staff.
Very friendly and informative staff. Very clean place. Awesome breakfast. Highly recommend stay. Nice pool and hot tub, fitness center and Business Center. Also a bonus benefit with happy hour. Loved the drink selection
When we arrived the pull out sofa didn't have the sheets changed and there was a receipt in the sheets dating back a week. There was a hair on the soap tray in the shower. Underneath the sink was gross including a clump of hair. The toilet seat was almost completely falling off. There was a hair clip on the curtains that hadn't been removed.
We live in Duluth and rented a room so we could swim and hot tub. The pool area was clean and just the right temperature. You could tell right away that appearance and cleanliness is important to y'all. I really loved the rolled towels on all the tables- we felt like we were at a tropical resort instead of winter in the Midwest ☀️
Friendly and courteous staff with a great breakfast. I have stayed a few times and I will certainly be back! Clean rooms, close to all amenities and cute little gift shop! Internet was easy and it was quiet and comfortable. The price was right and I highly recommend
The room was filthy. Vomit on the curtains, something smeared all over the headboard. My 10 year old sat in the bed and the bed frame broke. We then moved to a different room only for that one to have a first floor window stuck open, crumbs all over the floor, previous guests items under the bed and sticky surfaces. Then was the matter of safety. The side doors that lead to the parking lot didn't latch or lock. At one point a homeless man came in and was asking guests around the pool for food. The door stop for our room door was irrelevant as the trim it was attached to was falling off the wall. This was a terrible experience. We were traveling with my daughters basketball team otherwise I would have never booked this. Would never recommend.
Night clerk was rude and acted like it was an inconvenience to check us in. She would not honor the Internet price $50 less and told me it would take hours to fix. Kind of a sketchy location. I try to stay at best Westerns and always have a great experience
Our room had a hole in the shower, and there something that looked like mold. We moved to a different room. We when out for the day came back and our key didn't work. The breakfast area was very narrow and very difficult to move around. It's challenging to move without in the dining area.
Overall, it was clean and quite adequate, though the beds were thrown together. I think the maid was in a terrible rush to get the room cleaned and done. The woman who checked us in was apparently angry with us for asking for a room away from the stairway and didn't say another word while checking us in. We learned about the breakfast and some other details by overhearing another guest. The breakfast was amazing! Well done with a lot of options.
Our grandchildren throughly enjoyed the breakfast options, lots to choose from. Really loved making their waffles in the morning. The happy hour service was great for Mom, Gramma and Grampa if we wanted to partake. Girls had a fabulous time in the pool and hot tub. They swam morning, afternoon and evening. Excellent before back to school getaway.
Felt dirty. Bathtub, fridge, cabinets, window ledge all dirty. Mold in bathroom. Sofa bed so uncomfortable, my kid opted to sleep on the floor. Swimming pool was fine although the floor needed to be cleaned. Breakfast was fine. Beds were fine.
My family thought we would come here to save the money. I wish I would have spent the extra 100 to 200 and went elsewhere. They say that it is remodeled, but it just isn't. The room was dirty. Bathtub stained/dirty...I didn't even want to shower. Cabinets dirty, fridge is dirty, window ledge disgusting. Some.mold spots in bathroom ceiling. Random paint splotches...maybe where they were touching up. Not sure, but the paint doesn't match. Location isnt great. Just stay elsewhere.
We checked in and discovered a filthy room with stains on the couch, hair in the sink, and clearly hadn't been vacuumed. We asked for a different room, and to our dismay, dog food in a corner, more stains on the couch, a stain on the bed. We checked out and asked for our money back. Do not stay here! I hope Best Western pulls the franchise from this hotel!
This hotel is difficult to locate due to continuing construction on Interstate exchange. No housekeeping is available if you stay more than one night. The box spring in my room was broken. A comprehensive cleaning between guests in not done. Food left in refrigerator and washcloth left under the bed. On a positive note, the breakfast buffet was excellent.
Staff was friendly however the Hotel was extremely dated. The room had a moth ball type odor . We didnt get much sleep or relaxation here as a few rooms down kids were in and out of the rooms slamming doors. Would not go back!
This hotel is a fine place to stay with spotless rooms, updated bedding, and reliable wifi. The staff are friendly and ready to serve our stays. Add to this the Happy Hour and breakfast and we had a 1st class stay.
We stayed here for one night while we were visiting Duluth. The hotel is just across the bridge into Superior. A perfectly pleasant place-- clean and comfortable, a well-stocked breakfast bar, staff was friendly and helpful. They also offered a free happy hour in the dining area in the evening, with free beer/wine/drinks and snacks. I haven't seen a hotel offer something like this before. Nothing fancy, but nice.
This place looks old from the outside, but most of the inside is updated. Our room smelled like mildew. We weren't sure if it was the cooling unit or what. The first morning the water for our showers was only like warm. The ice machine closest to our room was out of order as was the clothes washing machine. Breakfast was good! Many hot and cold options!
The hotel needs to be updated, but everything was clean and the hotel staff was very helpful. The location to Canal Park was good-10 minute drive. We were there for Grandma's Marathon and the shuttle between Canal Park and Superior worked well. We were told they were no longer dropping off at the Bridgeview Hotel, but the bus driver was nice enough to drop us off in front of the hotel on our shuttle back. There were a lot of bars and a brewery within walking distance, which was nice. The brewery had excellent beers. The restaurants were your typical greasy bar food, so not the best quality, but it worked. If you don't like outdated hotels, this isn't the hotel for you. However, we enjoyed our stay and would stay here again.
I have never felt more uncomfortable when arriving at a hotel to check in. The girl at the front desk never greeted us and didn't say more than two words to us. Basically rolled her eyes the whole time we were standing up there. Both bedspreads had stains on them. The pull out couch in the living room area had a dirty mattress pad and an unmade bed. We called the front desk to ask if we could have sheets for it. She said yes but you have to make it yourself, which is whatever. She was so irritated the whole time. For some reason we didn't receive housekeeping so we had to call down for towels and trash bags. The gentleman on 3-11 brought them down, he was very kind and asked if we needed anything else. Very sweet. The breakfast was good. The pool area was super fun. They provide toys in the pool area which my kids enjoyed.
The room was clean, staff was friendly and helpful, and nice selection for breakfast. Only thing I would say is that is located in an industrial type area that is not near much. The hotel was safe and secure, but isolation may feel a bit odd for a solo traveler.
This hotel is definitely outdated and in need of plenty of upgrades. Most telling is the baseboards made out of strips of carpet glued to the wall. The doors are very thin so any hallway noise could easily be heard. The room keys kept having to be rekeyed as they didn't work. The bedspreads on both beds had dirt stains on them and the shower was warm and never got hit even after waiting a while. On the positive side the staff was friendly and the pool area was clean. The breakfast was decent or at least as to be expected. If I was coming to the area again I'd be willing to pay more for a newer, nicer hotel.
One of the worst hotels you could stay at. Save your money on this hotel and spend a little more to have a better stay else where. Hotel was super dirty don't even think our room was clean before we arrived.
I stay at a lot of hotels. this is the first bad review I've ever left. staff is unfriendly and incompitent with computer systems and check in and out procedures. rooms are dirty, smelly, and many things do not work properly. My first room smelled so badly that I requested a change. The new room smelled fine, but had mold all over the bathroom. TV did not work. Heat did not work properly.
Ripped sheers and used soap in shower upon arrival. Mildew odor not covered by pool odor. My request for toilet paper and mention of party in pool outside our door was met with an attitude like I was asking for the moon! Night staff had glazed over eyes.
This hotel is an older property built prior to 1992 I estimate because it still has the old 3.5 gallons per flush toilets and the old style bathroom floor and wall tiles and window treatments. There is no elevator in spite of an upper floor of rooms. The hotel is in desperate need of a major renovation, but the front desk person says that the hotel will be demolished soon for a planned nearby interstate highway expansion. The carpets are stained, the wall plaster chipped and cracked, and the paint worn. The hotel did discount our room rate after we complained that it was inappropriate for the condition of the hotel.
Needed friendlier staff. And better cleanliness of amenities in room like wiping out refrigerator and microwave.breakfast selection was good pool area was kept clean and pool towels stocked. Out of 5 stars I would only rate it at 2.5
The location was fine for us, the room was comfortable, and any problems found (minor things) were quickly remedied. I stayed in the room for a lot of the trip and was quite pleased. I watched a lot of TV and they had all the HBO channels. I cannot rave enough about the staff, the were fabulous. Amy the manager is very kind and her staff
Friendly staff, clean rooms, good selections for the continental breakfast. This location is perfect for visiting either Duluth or Superior events and festivities. I will definitely be back to stay at this hotel
This hotel was lacking in staff friendliness, housekeeping, and security. The side door key fob was broken and the door was constantly being propped open with a rock. Homeless hang around the door, and this seems to be a hotel for night-time partiers. Staff doesn't seem to car about the problems.
We have stayed at this hotel multiple times when visiting Duluth. It is usually more reasonably priced and an easy drive over the bridge. There are good restaurants in Superior and it is less crowded.
If you are going to the Duluth/Superior area in Minnesota, KEEP driving right past this hotel. The carpets are filthy, the terrible odor in the room when you open the door to enter is like a slap in the face. The bed is awful and very uncomfortable. The door is lightweight, and the hallway noise is outrageous and continues late into the night. We did not feel safe with such a flimsy door. The worst Best Western we have ever had the displeasure of staying at.
The twin ports in summer are packing'em in. No hotel has to try very hard and will fill up regardless. It's just a bummer to be spending big money 2x+ for a hundred dollar room, then when you have a problem like a sink that doesn't drain they just don't care. Nice breakfast spread, pretty safe with decent location. Bad value for investment.
The breakfast was awesome, bacon, eggs, waffles, yogurt, fruit, bagels, coffee, juices etc. The pool is just right. The hotel smelt nice. Very friendly, courteous and helpful staff. We love staying here. Clean rooms, very comfortable beds. Fridges and microwaves and coffee in the rooms. Rooms seem to be sound proof, we never heard anyone else. There is always someone there to help you. Cleaning staff are friendly. Nice courtyard. Ice machines. Coffee in the lobby. Lots of places to park. Just a great hotel!
Maintenance lacking, water leak into AC and no one on duty to address, had to turn it off. Staff under trained, didnt know how to handle situation. Room smelled, had to ask twice to get shower curtain changed. Was afraid to try breakfast.
Check-in was quick and there being a parking garage was nice as it was starting to rain. The room was nice, the sheets were soft, but the bed was a little soft for me but then I sleep normally on a rock hard mattress. It was very quiet in that part of the hotel. I would certainly consider staying here again when I am in the area.
Going back to Superior always holds special meaning. The BW Bridgeview certainly adds to that. It is a comfortable hotel with easy in/out. The staff was super-friendly and helpful. They have one of the better breakfasts of similar hotels. The bathrooms were functional but could use an update. Overall stay was very good. One amenity, though not part of BW, was the proximity to Earth Rider, which is walkable. It is a fantastic craft brewery and just one more reason I like staying at the BW Bridgeview.
The rooms were not cleaned and restocked. The staff was rude when asked for more towels. The towels were never delivered. Hotel is not ADA compliant. No elevator. Family with mobility needs were placed in a tiny room which was difficult to navigate. Rest of family was placed on second floor in another wing that was inaccessible.
Great location close to Duluth and Superior. Added bonus you can bring your dog! Staff was very friendly and helpful, gave great suggestions. Easy checkin and checkout. Loved Tina's Happy Hour and the breakfast was great. Tons of options for vegetarians and meat eaters alike. The pool was very clean and our room was comfortable
My family has been staying at bridgeview for years, we love it. The rooms are comfortable and clean. The pool area is very spacious. And their breakfast is awesome. They also have a cute little happy hour.
The manager went out of his way to make sure we had a great time. The pool area is one of the best in Superior. The room was very clean and the beds were very comfortable. The kids played in the pool for HOURS. They have a complimentary cocktail hour for the adults who are staying there (during the week only) and the breakfast was great.
We booked a block of rooms for an out of town volleyball tournament and I was completely unimpressed with our stay. There was no TV or internet the entire weekend. The hot tub jets were so intense that you feel like you are on a ride at the waterpark. The hot tub flooded at one point and the water went into the poolside rooms. The power went out in half the rooms in the hotel on Saturday and the front desk person told our group that it wasn't their problem. Half our group had not electricity or heat for an extended period of time.
There was no check in staff until I phoned the hotel after 20 minute wait. Dirty work boots and bagged garbage were in all hallways. The TV had no reception. Coffee pot did not work. Loud noises in room from randomly running toilet and the compressor for the fridge. It was clean in our room.
Rooms are very clean. Pool area very open and nice. Hot tub was exceptional. Breakfast was great. All around good service. Very friendly staff. I would recommend friends and family to stay at this hotel over any in the area.
After climbing into bed, I noticed dried blood on the sheets. I removed the bedding and the mattress was so stained I was sick. I checked 2 other rooms and the mattresses were stained as well. There were bags of garbage still in the hallway @ 8:30 pm.
Love the Best Western Bridgeview. Very reasonable prices, great breakfast, pool and hot tub are nice and clean. This hotel is located in a nice spot that is close to many local attractions. Parking is plentiful.
my reservation had to be made/changed numerous times due to their error (one time i wanted to upgrade) was quoted one price form Best western, confirmed by employee at Bridgewater, then raised right before check in. Had dirty sheets, my 13 year old son insisted I wear his slides in the shower due to it being very clean, our fridge also did not work
Repoted suspicious activity to the front desk, got yelled at by the front desk woman saying I should call the cops not them. 45 mins later, on Christmas at 1:45 am was escorted off the property bybthe police, with no explanation
When we arrived at the hotel (Friday, Nov 5), my wife had laid on the bed only to find a yellow pee stain and the blanket wet (see picture). One employee changed the bed sheets for us, but not without trying to suggest that maybe we went to the pool and laid on the bed. We wouldn't have been as upset about the pee stain if the employee hadn't tried to blame us for it. It was very unprofessional. And there was no apology. She only complained that she was tired. Pros: Good breakfast choices and the pool area was very relaxing. The employee in the breakfast area was very nice. If you come to this hotel, please check your bed sheets!
My husband and I recently spent a week in the Great Lakes area; we stayed at the Best Western Bridgeview Hotel and enjoyed our time there. We were traveling with our cat, and finding a pet-friendly hotel that was also cat-friendly was a challenge. We were so happy to find the Bridgeview; from the moment I called to make our reservation, it was a good experience. Kathy at the front desk is a GEM; she made our reservation for us, and was so friendly and welcoming that we knew we'd made the right decision. She was at the front desk when we checked in, and helped us out with restaurant recommendations and some information about the area. She had worked very hard to find just the right room for us: first floor near an outside door (for easy load in and out), away from the pool (which could get noisy), and toward the back of the hotel (away from the main street). We really appreciate her attending to our requests so thoroughly! The hotel layout radiates into wings, so a map to guide our steps back and forth from the common areas was very helpful. The layout also allows for parking that is literally steps from the nearest outside door. Each door is labeled with a letter of the alphabet, so you can't get lost. Our room was clean and comfortably sized for our needs, with two queen beds, a bureau, work desk, microwave and refrigerator and flat-screen TV. In addition to the office chair, there was an upholstered chair (that our cat immediately took possession of). The toilet and tub/shower were separate from the sink and closet area (in the European model), which was very helpful when getting ready in the mornings. One thing we missed was an inset soap dish and/or ledge for our toiletries in the shower. I spoke with the hotel manager during our check-out, and recommended they investigate soap dish/ledge options which can be incorporated into the tile surround of the shower. This would be a definite boon for travelers. Having an inset soap dish at the sink would also be very helpful. The location of our room was fairly quiet, although we could hear our neighbor's TV/music at times through the wall and any higher levels of noise in the hall. The bed was very comfortable, and there was a selection of pillows to choose from for a good night's sleep. In addition to Kathy, we appreciated Danica at the front desk, who, with a smile, took care of so many questions and requests during our stay. Tina in the breakfast room was the soul of hospitality, always greeting us in the morning and working hard to ensure that all the breakfast items were fresh and in plentiful supply. Every staff member we spoke with was very polite and kind. Breakfast was a full hotel breakfast; in addition to beverages, cereals, breads, pastries, and fresh fruit, they offered egg dishes, breakfast meat (bacon and sausage alternated), and make-your-own waffles. The location of the hotel was ideal for our exploration of the area; it's situated just one block from the I-535 bridge crossing over to Duluth, and right on Hammond Street for easy access to Superior's downtown area with shops, restaurants and bars. Despite its downtown location, the area appeared quite safe and was well-lit; while we were there, we saw many patrons on the streets and sidewalks. The indoor pool was centrally located; we didn't get a chance to use it, but it always appeared clean and the surrounding area was kept tidy. There was also a jacuzzi and plenty of pool-side seating. The exercise area was sufficient for our needs; they had an elliptical trainer, treadmill, stationary bicycle, and standing weight machine as well as free weights available. The hotel has a business area which offers two terminals for internet access, connected to a printer. The entire hotel is wi-fi accessible and the service is free; it is a secure network with a password. Another recommendation would be to install at least one public bathroom in the hotel common area, so that guests would not have to return to their rooms to use the facilities. This is an older hotel, and some patrons may notice some dated design, but the carpets and furniture are newer and clean. The nautical elements are delightful, from the tugboat-turned-gift-shop to the portholes, ships' wheels, and other boating memorabilia tastefully displayed. If you're traveling to the Duluth-Superior area and are interested in a homey, mid-range hotel, the Bridgeview is for you! We'll definitely make reservations here the next time we return to the region.
The bathroom in our room was moldy, there was water damage so the ceiling had a hole in it, the bathtub / shower was very grimy and gross, the rooms surface appearance was okay unless you looked in the cabinets that were clearly dirty & run down. The curtains were in really bad condition and broken. Probably was the worst room in the whole hotel.
best price in the duluth/superior area with military discount. room was pretty clean except for weird amount of fruit flies. our room was missing toilet paper holder and had a loose sink faucet. staff was accommodating and very friendly. they offered to make it right. note that they reported staff and maintenance personal shortages. breakfast was awesome.
Mold in AC and bathtub, broken and leaking AC unit, beds rock hard, tons of noise coming from AC unit. Did not get any sleep, would've been better off in the car. Would never stay here again if it was the last option available. They refunded $50 out of the over $200 we paid for a single night. Never got a call from manager like we requested for the full refund.
This wonderfully maintained and cleaned motel has been around a long time. But no signs of wear and teat exist. Excellent maintenance has kept it relevant ad enjoyable for our stays. Add friendly and welcoming staff along with good amenities and? All reasons that I stay again ad again. You should too.
Enjoyed staying here while we visited our grandchildren. We had a poolside room which was very convenient. Breakfast in the morning was also very good. Would recommend for families. We truly enjoyed our stay.
Rooms were clean and spacious (we used an additional air mattress and there was room), the breakfast was a great selection of hot and cold items and they kept it well stocked and the price was more reasonable than the hotels we found in Duluth. They kept the premise and pool and exercise areas tidy, we were greeted by cheery people and it was located close to the main road for easy on/off access. Only complaint, the beds were a little too soft for our liking.
The motel is on a busy road, our car was ransacked during the night and items were stole. Just be smart. Remove anything of any value or importance from your cars. The hotel is a little older but serves the purpose. There is not an elevator so carrying luggage and a cooler up the stairs is a bit of a challenge. The pool area is very nice. It's huge with a lot of seating. The breakfast was very good! Lots of options, something for every age group!
The room was not cleaned well. The bed and pillows were nice though. The staff was helpful. We did not have breakfast as we checked out before breakfast started. For what I paid for the room, I thought it would be clean. Disappointing, but it was a place to sleep.
The rooms were nice and clean and decorated well however he couldn't cover up the nasty musty old basement smell throughout the whole hotel. The main areas lobby breakfast room and hallways had no air-conditioning on and the temperatures were 95 degrees outside. The bed was very uncomfortable and so are the pillows. When I sat in the bed I reach the boxspring absolutely no support.
We recommend a room next to the indoor pool. The outside of the building and immediate surroundings seemed a little sketchy when we first arrived but the interior was inviting. It seemed they went through a recent room renovation. Tina in the breakfast room was awesome staying on top of everything.
Very loud. Noisy patrons, heavy drinking, music turned up 100% from a boom box. Management does next to nothing to control the noise. They rent rooms to oil workers to use over the weekends. Don't know the name of the person who pays the rental. 6-7 men in a room! They don't want to lose the easy rental money for renting out rooms for the oil workers.
My mother and I took a last minute trip to Superior to visit my grandmother. Most of the hotels were already booked and fortunately the Best Western had a room. I was looking for a handicap accessible room as my mother uses a walker, but unfortunately they were all booked. We were able to get a room on the first floor by the pool, which made it easy for mom to get to and from the room without having to worry about stairs as there is not an elevator at this location. The service at the front desk was great. The room was clean. The pillows are amazing - they felt like sleeping on a cloud. They even have a little gift shop right next to the front desk. Overall, this is is great hotel!
Dirty, outdated, not safe for families. Rooms had bugs and smelled like pot. Beds in need of replacement, no water pressure, sink clogged. Party by the pool area that went until 3am, called and complained several times and nothing done about it.
The room was GREAT - clean and spacious. Seems to be a party hotel as both nights we had to walk through a party crowd to get to our room - very uncomfortable feeling because room doors were open and people were partying inside and out. Wastebaskets in hall overflowing with empty alcoholic beverage containers. Mentioned it to front desk staff who seemed uninterested.
Upon check in the front desk lady was very rude and unwelcoming. She didn't even greet me or welcome me. She asked for my name and then rudely and aggressively told me about their no birthday policy that was recently new. This place has been known to be the place to have birthday parties for kids. Now it's turned into a place for crack heads and people who stay for extended periods. If you change your policy you should have it stated on your website so people aren't aware of this upon check in. The room was way over priced for day of the week and the overall quality of the entire hotel as a whole. The hot tub jets don't work properly. The pool area is outdated and dirty. Never enough pool towels available. The rooms are small and outdated and smell. They allow animals but not birthday parties, gross! The breakfast was average for a hotel continental breakfast. Lots of options! The cleaning staff are friendly, but front desk staff are not. Otherwise enjoyed with my family one night, wouldn't go back. Especially now that they don't allow guests or birthday parties.
Either the room was cleaned in a hurry or the employees don't care, either way it's not acceptable to have hair and visible dirt on the floor and in the shower upon walking in. Same with the mattresses. One I think was broken because you sunk into it, they weren't comfortable at all and the pillows smelled musty and of mildew. The bedspreads were yellowed in some spots and also smelled like they hadn't been cleaned very well. The room also didn't have hand soap so my significant other and I had to go to Target in Duluth to get soap and other items to make us feel comfortable enough to even sleep there. We'd already paid for the room up front, which is odd if you think about it and should've been a red flag to begin with. We were exhausted after traveling almost 3 hours so we didn't feel like trying to find another place to stay. The lady working the front desk was the same lady (Kathy) I spoke to over the phone to reserve a room who sounds like she hates her job. She was short with me over the phone and sounded annoyed I was even calling to book a room. After waiting 20 minutes on hold someone else picked up and was much more pleasant to speak to and more helpful. So after running out to buy Clorox wipes and fabric sanitizer I felt a little better about staying there but I definitely would not recommend or stay there again.
All staff members had wonderful customer service! Kathy was definitely a huge reason why I gave this hotel a great star rating. She goes above and beyond to make sure guests are satisfied! She also is very friendly which can cheer up anybody who is having a bad day! She works hard and long hours with a smile on her face! Her dedication is like no other to this profession. I think this hotel is very blessed and lucky to have Kathy on their team! Additionally, I love how this hotel has now transformed their free continent breakfast into a “to-go” form to keep guests and staff healthy during the COVID-19 Pandemic!
This hotel is awful. Rooms are in terrible condition. Stained carpet. Door locks wouldn't work. Stained sheets. Needles in parking lot. Police were there each night of our stay. The price was $150 a night so we thought it was decent. It wasn't. PLEASE STAY AWAY!!!!!!!
Very dirty and unsafe. People coming and going all hours of the night, drug use, a woman was assaulted, vehicles damaged and other police activities. All observed in the two nights we stayed. Had there been any other hotels available we would have gotten out.
Our stay was ok. Two out of the three nights we were left awake in our room due to screaming children in the pool area. Things didn't quiet down until 11:30 and even then one night there was a whole gang of people outside yelling and swearing at each other coming in and out of the door until 3am. People were going in and out of their rooms constantly at all hours of the night. Didn't seem like hotel staff cared or knew what was going on. Rarely saw them ever come through the pool area. We had a pool side suite. The breakfast choices were terrible, could have at least offered more than prepackaged waffles and oatmeal. I get it's the pandemic but some fruit would have been nice! Other than that our room was fine and clean
I really wish this hotel I could say good things about as it's location is great not only is it's close to where my family lives but it's right at the end of the bridge that connects Superior to Duluth. Room was not clean, we had pee all over our toilet, bathroom looked like it had not been swept, comforter on the bed had stains on it and then we had no hot water coming out of the bathroom sink, and when I took a shower it stayed hot for maybe 5min then the rest of my shower the water was luke warm. When my boyfriend took his it went to ice cold and he had no hot water. It really truly is a shame as this is not the first time we had issues here...We thought we give it another try as their is not many hotels that except pets and we had our fur babies with us and this is the experience we had. We ended up having to find another hotel to stay at for our second night that we were in town for.
Avoid! This hotel as become the "staycation" place for all the local families on the weekend, The pool was mobbed with children and the parents surrounded them drinking beer and eating pizza. Quite a scene. Not worth the money.
While the hotel was clean and the staff was very friendly, there were 2-3 birthday parties being held in the pool area and it was complete chaos. There was no where for the paying guests to swim or sit, and children were running around unsupervised. Staff said outside swimming guests were allowed for the parties and there was nothing they could do about it. Very frustrating when you pay for a poolside suite and you can't safely access the pool area with your children.
Rooms are musty and moldy. Heater wouldn't turn off. Had to have window open entire stay in mid January. No front desk person ever. Pool shut down first day for diaper explosion. Never opened again. Breakfast had poor selection or pre packaged food.
Spur of the moment getaway to play on the shore. Plenty of rooms available. Lots of kids on winter break, so the front desk was kind enough to find a quiet room! Rooms are very clean. Prices are great. I've been coming to this hotel for 30 plus years. Never disappoints.
We came with the sole purpose of going to Bentleyville and to swim. It was a great location as it had an easy access to get to Duluth. Beds were comfy and the room was spacious. We opted to skip breakfast as we noted a sign stating three items. We decided to sleep in and grab a bite on our way out of town. The hallways definitely could of used a good vacuum. I'd recommend better supervision of the pool area as there were some intoxicated guests in the area.
Rooms have been updated and are clean. Staff was incredibly pleasant. Pool area is nice and big. Pool temperature was perfect. Beds and pillows were extremely comfortable!! While this hotel is no frills the stay was better than what I have experienced at many high end establishments.
Traveled with family and dogs. Rooms were clean. We had adjoining rooms and the dogs loved running between them. The pool and hot tub were open. We used the hot tub. It felt great after hours of driving. The mini fridge and microwave came in handy for reheating leftovers when we went out to eat. Breakfast was limited, but still had some good choices.
Stayed in a poolside suite for two nights. Didn't have high expectations due to the reputation of hotels in the superior area. The room accommodations were nothing special. Hardly any social distancing or masks worn by patrons in the hotel. Staff wearing masks was hit or miss. We used the hot tub after other people had vacated it. The pool towels are tiny, rough, and thin. There are signs on the pool tables to sanitize them before and after use. Unsure if these are sanitized by staff or not. Would recommend if you are okay with an older hotel and don't mind others not wearing masks or social distancing
My room didn't seem to get cleaned at all, let alone any extra attention due to the pandemic. The first thing I noticed was diarrhea splatter under my toiletries seat, which of course prompted me to want to wash my hands, but my room was left without soap. You would think a bar of soap was a premium item based on how tightly it was held, when I asked the front seat for a couple of bars, I got one small one. I had to ask housekeeping later for a second bar after the first little one was used up during my shower. Later I found all kinds of garbage under my bed, candy, pretzels, wrappers, even a medium sized brown bag. All that was available for me was a handicap accessible room off the pool, it was very loud (kids screaming most of the day - I was on a motorcycle and it was raining, so I had stopped to be out of the weather - if you're away from your room until 10:00 PM, it might not be an issue). The shade for my window to the pool was attached with gorilla tape and had to be manually rolled open. There were bare electric wires dangling out of the shade. The pool was over crowded and no one in the pool area was social distancing or wearing masks (I understand it's pointless while swimming, but even those hanging around watching the kids, etc. were unmasked. Even some of the front desk staff and housekeeping were not wearing masks. I stayed here because I had a lot of Best Western points and I stayed for "free". However, when I kept raining and I needed to stay an additional night, they wanted $40-$50 more / night than the Hampton Inn / Holiday Inn just down the street, both of which are newly constructed hotels, as opposed to this one that appears to have been built in the 60's - 70's and not updated since the 80's - 90's. I ended up staying at the Hampton Inn and it was a much more pleasant experience: clean, new and staff and guests were all wearing masks in public spaces and practicing social distancing. Don't waste your time or money at this place!
This was our first time visiting the area on a short vacation. We choose this hotel because of the allowance of pets. Kathy the one whom took my reservation was wonderful to work with. The air conditioning was a older model and did not cool as I would have like but it did the job.
The room and pool were adequate especially when you're paying $200/night. The room was clean and we felt comfortable. The pool was relatively clean except for the Mayflies and random stagnant puddles on the cement near the pool. We expected a decent breakfast that was advertised as "Modified breakfast due to COVID-19" but we didn't expect the packaged processed waffles and pancakes. Other than the apples and bananas, nothing was fresh. We had to drive down the road to pick up breakfast from the gas station because they at least had warm food. It may be that this hotel offers better breakfast during times without a pandemic but we felt like we were lied to about what would be available. We've been to many other Best Westerns and have enjoyed staying there but I can't recommend this hotel to anyone.
Hotel is near all the touristy things to do in Duluth, but the area itself is a little sketchy. The people wandering the area made me make sure I parked under a street lamp and double checked my car was locked. I read a lot of reviews and was very hopeful they were right....they're not. This hotel is run down and dirty. Run down and old I can handle. Dirty has no excuses. The floors everywhere were dirty. Our room looked like it hadn't been cleaned. Food had been left in the fridge. There were scraps of garbage on the floor. It just made me very uncomfortable and if some things like that were so blatantly not cleaned, what else hadn't they cleaned? The whole hotel was warm, as if the air wasn't even turned on. We had to switch rooms once because the A/C was rattling loudly. We almost switched again because, even thought the A/C was on full blast, the room still felt warm and musty. The maid gave us a (very very dusty) fan and we made it work. Pool area is great and my kids spent countless hours there. Might want to bring your own towels though, as the ones provided are very old and thin.
We are here for our 3pm check in and we still don't have a room an hour later. It's hot here and no air. No communication on when we'll have a room and stuck waiting on what was supposed to be relaxing weekend.
This is an older hotel but well maintained. All the staff seem friendly even when it's very busy. Front desk staff is friendly and helpful. Rooms are Always clean and pool area is nice for gathering with friends or family.
The hotel is quaint. I loved the setup and decor. The breakfast area was awesome. The spacious pool area was a nice touch. We enjoyed the Hot tub. The hotel is right next to a major road and it is very easy to get out and on the road to Duluth or wherever
We stayed at this hotel for one night. We switched rooms and were given another room. The smell of must was horrible. We left our window open all night long and turned cup the heat. The staff was friendly and the breakfast was very good. With this being said, for a Best Western I was very unimpressed. Some of the reviews I have read about Bridgeview said that the hotel was updated - no, no, no. The toilet and tub were so close if you got out of the wrong end you ended up stepping into the toilet. The smell, yuck. I did not go into the pool - but it seemed quite attended by lots of kids! It seems like the hotel is older and they have tried to update but very minimally. Also, sheets were hard like they were from the 50's. I am sorry to say, I won't be back.
I was bit all over the body by some type of bug. I think fleas. Really hoping I didn't bring whatever I was bit by home with me and my infant son. Total rip off for $150 a night. Front desk just said “sorry we'll clean the room” The waffles were the only good thing about the stay.
I was very impressed by the hotel. I have stayed in Duluth many times but did not really know about this hotel until my daughter booked it. By far the best room and the best value that I have seen! Very friendly and accommodating staff!
This hotel exceeded out expectations. It is an older hotel, but the inside has been updates and was clean. So fun to have a pool out your door. It was a pleasant surprise upon entering. It was quick access to the Duluth sites and Superior was easy to navigate. Perfect stay!
I came down to wisconsin for a realaxing couple days. The people and scenery were great here at the bridgeview. I have found that they have remodeled the rooms and replaced the beds very comfortable. 1 Thing they need to start doing is replacing the fridges, I always buys goodies and I found that my fridge didn't run the best,
The location was easy to find and within minutes from Duluth, check-in was quick and staff is very friendly, our room was clean and spacious, the pool area was large and the kids had a blast swimming. The later check-out (12:00 p.m.) gave us plenty of time to enjoy the delicious complimentary breakfast and more pool time. We highly recommend.
Our family was staying there to go to Bentleyville. We had 2 rooms rented. Our rooms were not ready when we tried to check in @245 so we came back at 3 to checkin and the rooms still weren't cleaned. The front desk lady was very rude about the situation.
Very friendly and efficient staff.... made our stay enjoyable Breakfast area was well replenished and fresh Also very clean and a staff member checked the whole area on a regular basis The hotel was well maintained and pool area was clean
Our stay was on a Saturday night was very good. We have stayed here a number of times over the years and once again enjoyed the friendly and helpful staff, the comfortable room, and the variety of breakfast foods. We are already thinking about our next stay.
Nice little hotel. It has a large pool area with a hot tub. This pool area has a lot of room for large groups to come and hang out. The hot tub has powerful jets to ease those tired muscles. Breakfast was exactly what we expected. It was a good spread.
great hotel , service is outstanding the hot tub and pool were just the right temperature the breakfast was great biscuits and gravy was awesome. And Tina's happy hour was always great to look forward to.
From the first moment of our arrival we were pleased with the friendly welcoming greeting, then the spotless room and accommodations. This is a gem in the Best western catalog. An unusual find, an older hotel that has been maintained to the highest degree, with freshly updated rooms and then a nice breakfast before checkout. Add reliable wifi and all is good. Oh, the pool area is wonderful.
hotel was clean and comfortable , much work has been done to update hotel , sale of beer in hotel gift shop convince , pillows on beds could be updated , it would be our only dissatisfaction, staff was helpful and pleasant, would stay there again
This is an older property, with a very traditional design and amenities, but clean and well-maintained, and with a friendly, knowledgeable staff. My room was on the first floor, with the window facing the highway, but wasn't as noisy as I would have expected. All of the standard amenities were present and worked properly (well, I guess the iron worked; I've used a motel room iron exactly once in my life, and this wasn't the time). The Best Western Bridgeview offers a free hot breakfast, which had the usual offerings and was well-stocked. They also offer a cocktail hour with free snacks and beverages on weeknights, which isn't really my thing, but is still a nice touch. The best feature of this hotel is its location, which (as the name implies), is just across the St. Louis River from Duluth, MN. Despite its proximity, the Best Western Bridgeview was less expensive than most of the similar hotels in Duluth, even some that aren't nearly as highly rated on TripAdvisor. It's only minutes from the entertainment and dining options of downtown Duluth, and offers easy access to the North Shore Scenic Drive along Lake Superior. If you prefer boutique hotels or quaint B&B's, the Best Western Bridgeview isn't going to be your first choice, but if you want a clean comfortable place to spend the night while you're in Duluth or Superior on vacation or for business, it's a great option.
Staff was very helpful and friendly, from the front desk to the cleaning people. Breakfast had a wide variety to choose from and kept stocked in a timely manner. Hot foods were in fact hot. Place was well maintained and clean. Good location for activities in Superior and Duluth. Happy hour at night was a nice touch.
One of the only places we could get multiple rooms for during our visit for a family get together. Stayed here in 1994 & little if anything has been done/changed. Friendly staff (that's the best comment I can make). Our room was like an oven ... front desk said air conditioning season was over although temps were in mid 70's. We were in a 1st floor room & couldn't keep our window open. Pool was cold -- guess it wasn't heating season for the pool either yet. Odd. Stay here again ... only if I couldn't find something else.
Bathrooms were remodeled and very clean. Pool and hot tub are awesome. Breakfast was outstanding, lots of options to choose from and adequate seating for breakfast. Steakhouse across the street was great!
this is a very nice hotel great service and in a great location close to all kinds of things to do in the duluth and a superior area. We have used this location many times very our business trips and always find them very helpful for our needs
good location and nice clean hotel. Only thing I would like more options on the breakfast menu. Used the pool and sauna and well kept up. Workers were friendly and helpful. I would recommend this hotel especially if planning to visit Dulath.
Reasonable rates...Spent 3 nights...close enough to Canal park, Two Harbors about 20 miles, we boatnerded the area...good breakfast, typical hotel fare...scrambled eggs/bacon or sausage/waffle& pancake maker, etc...weeknights cocktail party...2 free drinks each and some snackies...clean rooms, nice pool/hot tub area too...good beds...we bring our pillows so didn't use theirs although firm and soft choices.
Perfect location, clean rooms, friendly staff, and reasonable price! Loved the pool area, breakfast, pet friendly- Everything! I will definitely be going back in the future to stay here again. Thanks for the great experience!
The Best Western in Superior was a great value. The staff were helpful and friendly, the room was clean and comfortable. The hotel appeared to be recently updated with new flooring and other renovations.
The BW Bridgeview is a great place. We learned by being chatty that several of their employees have been there for years and loved their jobs. It showed.....Amazingly, they had a weekly cocktail hour with booze and snacks (it's a Wisconnie thing)....Several of the employees have worked there for their entire lives (and that's dedication). Hats off to BW for their loyalty to customers and employees!!!
The room was clean and comfortable. The motel had been recently updated and was attractive in appearance. Breakfast was very good and varied slightly from day to day.. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The short cocktail hour was a nice touch. The motel was close to the local attractions.
Very nice hotel for the money. Nice location, close to Canal Park in Duluth on the Mn side.Enjoyed the free cocktail party. Awesome free breakfast. Nice rooms. Nice pool area. Friendly and helpful staff. Definitely would stay again.
This hotel was convenient to every thing we wanted to do in the area. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Very nice pool area. Hot tub was a nice temperature but extremely powerful. A delicious restraint right across the street.
we were returning from a road trip to glacier national park . we generally stay at best western hotels. found this one on our g p s. we thought the price was a little high but still cheaper than the next nearest best western . the hotel was clean , had friendly staff and was quiet . we got a free room up grade . the hotel is close to the high way and the city .
Clean hotel in a convenient location good breakfast and availability of snacks in the evening during the week. Rooms comfortable and spacious. Friendly and helpful staff who are very welcoming. Good amenities
Customer service staff on hand made this stay wonderful. A clean and large room made staying here easy. Every time we are in the Duluth/Superior area this is our first choice for our group.I would recommend this best western location to all my family and friends
Although the staff was incredibly friendly, the hotel room was a nightmare. The ceiling had water damage all over. The lighting was poor so I was only able to get a picture of one of the spots. The beds looked like they were already slept in. One of the fancy folded washcloths turned out to be filthy. I should have left as soon as we checked in but it was late and other hotels were booked out. We also had a busy schedule home buying. Two of my children became sick with respiratory problems and it turned out there was mold behind the bathroom door. Once we left and were able to stay in a cleaner hotel later in the week, they got better. The fan in the bathroom also did not work. If I could have booked elsewhere those two nights I would have left.
From the moment we arrived, the staff was willing to satisfy our needs, they knew we were there for the race and they were expecting us with gift bags with treats for runners. Our room was next to the pool so it was a bit noisy but no one stayed there after 10:30 p.m. After the race, we actually used the hot tub, which helped us relax our legs.
Our new go to hotel! Do not waste your time staying in super super overpriced Duluth. This place had everything and than some. Super, super clean, breakfast, pool and awesome rooms. Pay no attention to the run down city, location is "Superior" to Duluth, we will be back!!
This is our second time to this Hotel. The room and bathroom were clean but on the smaller side. Breakfast is your standard hotel breakfast. The reason we stay here besides the clean room is for the Hammond Bar and Steakhouse next door.
This was a dated hotel that was affordable but needed upgrading. The rooms lacked refridgerators. The cooling system was old. The doors were old, wooden and could have used a chain lock option. The wake up call came a half hour early. Generally dingy atmosphere and nieghbourhood. People gathered in the small lobby to drink at night which was uncomfortable. The pool and surrounding pool area were very nice and large however. It was not expensive so for the price it wasn't bad. A good value but not up to 2019 expectations.
I've always enjoyed my stays at this hotel. The location is very convenient. It's quiet, clean and affordable. The breakfast is great, and staff is always friendly and very accommodating. I also enjoy the "happy hour" that they hold on certain weekdays. If you're Canadian, you also can get a card that they punch after every stay. After ten stays, the next one is free!
Simply just the best staff for sure highly recommended i invite all my family and friends that havent stayed at the bridge view in supierour Wisconsin to make it part of your some stop on your travel threw the united states
We always stay at the bridgeview Bestwesten when in Duluth/superior area. Staff is extremely friendly, hotel is clean, and the Bestwesten perks plus their Canadian club card helps in keeping costs down.
I really, really, liked this hotel: our room was large and comfortable, and somehow just felt really homey. I had asked for a quiet spot, and our room was indeed quiet. Unfortunately I can't remember the name of the lady who checked us in, but she was lovely. I would definitely stay here again.
Very friendly staff at check in and helping with directions to food places around the area very clean nice rooms good internet big pool great hrs breakfast had lots of options and very well stocked love the endless free coffee at front desks
Our room was very clean & comfortable. The breakfast in the morning was very good with lots of choice. The front desk staff were very courteous, knowledgeable & helpful. We have stayed at the Bridgeview many times & are always very happy with our stay. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the Bridgeview to my friends & family.
Perfect poolside room that was quiet and clean. Amazing hotel staff. Great pool with large pool hang out area and large TV with speakers. Awesome breakfast in morning. Only down fall is the hot tub was set to destroy and you couldn't hear the person sitting next to you and it was leaking out of the tub with only 3 people in it.
I want to say thank you!! My life has had some big disturbance's recently. I booked this room because it was my daughters 11th bday and she wanted to swim. When we checked in I was the hotel guest of the day. Seems like a simple thing, but I was elated as it was something positive in my hard day. Britton, the frontdesk attendant was very friendly and quick to check us in. The room was GREAT!! Clean and large. Breakfast was amazing! I enjoyed the citrus water in the lobby!! I needed a little sunshine in my week and you hotel helped me with that. I'll be traveling to SC and TX in May and I'll be staying Best Western as much as possible. Thank you again, Melissa
We've passed by this hotel a lot but have never stayed until this past weekend. Such a great find! Good rates for a week night and weekend night. We enjoyed the cocktail time on Thursday-wonderful worker. Front desk service was good. The pool was smaller than other hotels and was VERY slippery around the edges. We had someone in our group fall while walking around the pool. We enjoyed our stay and will be back.
Just because I'm a corporate lodging card holder just because I get such good rates they don't give reward points out I choose to stay here I should get reward points so therefore I will no longer be staying there because it's my choice
the room was great the breakfast was good , the hottub water wasn't full , service was good both arriving and checking out , location was close to three local bars and one great steak house, the price was a little high , but overall the stay was worth it
This is a wonderful hotel to stay at when meeting up with other families or groups. The pool area provided a wonderful gathering place for adults and kids. Rooms were clean, comfortable, and smoke free. Would definitely stay here again.
I enjoyed my stay at the Best Western in Superior, WI. My check-in was smooth, the desk clerk was welcoming, efficient, and helpful. My room was clean and tastefully decorated. The cocktail hour was an unexpected bonus. The bed was comfortable, breakfast was fresh and tasted good, and the shower was refreshing.
this BW has a nice happy hour from 530 till 7 and a great pool area to relax around. 2 drinks and lots of finger foods before going out to dinner.Close to Duluth (bridge is right there) or try downtown for a meal. I found Paks green corner on my last trip and it was the best thia food I have had in a long time. And the hotel breakfast is a full on hot and cold buffet
Have been going there for over thirty years. Staff are friendly. Clean hotel. Breakfast is good Happy hour is good. Pool area is clean and safe for children to swim. Will be returning in the spring of 2029.
Arrived around 10:45 PM, and went to check in. Attendant did not greet me, just abruptly stated "checking in ". Almost seemed annoyed at my late arrival. Room was quiet, comfortable and adequate. Breakfast was typical fare.
The staff at the hotel was very friendly and accommodating; however, the hotel itself was less than desirable. The rooms were old and the doors were very thin and very old. The sheets were all wrinkled (before we even got in them) and there was dust on just about everything and hair in the bathtub. The pool area is nice and big, but it is COLD! If you are sitting watching your kids, you need a sweatshirt, pants, and socks. Also, the roof in the pool area dripped water constantly. Breakfast was good.
Best western bridge view for the value has always been our to go to hotel. Our family reunion has always been impressed with the overall care and service they provide. We always feel welcome and enjoy all they have to offer.
Family had a good time. Pool was a little cool and hot tub jets too strong. Missed a microwave and refrigerator but we made due. Breakfast was typical hotel breakfast. The staff went out of their way to make your stay pleasant.
Xavier at checkin was very helpful & friendly. He was the best part of our experience at this hotel! We did not have a reservation, just walked in taking a chance they would have availability as it was midweek & no nearby events taking place. Xavier took good care of us with a smile on his face. Room was just OK, could certainly use an update & bathroom was very small. Glad to report that even though furniture/fixtures were older, they were clean! Breakfast was basic standard items, which was no surprise to us. Checkout was brutal! We required printed invoice for border officials as we were crossing into Canada & know they frequently ask for this..proof of how long you were out of country & where you stayed. Front desk clerk could not access this info...huh? She informed us she was trying to produce our invoice but could not. If you have no info on us, can not produce invoice...guess there should not be any charge? As if! She told us she couldn't do anything about it. Suggested she might try getting our info searching her system by room #? Name? Date? Saw she was getting flustered by computer system. She tried again..found us...computer froze...could not print!! She said she would try again on the other computer, which she did. Again, she was able to see all the correct info..perfect! Pls give us printed invoice. No such luck..2nd computer froze!! She told us we would have to contact her manager, Anna Fitzsimmoms, who was not available & would not be available that day!! Of course this was no help to us @ the moment. She offered to email invoice to us when computer working properly...no help to us if not rec'd by time crossing into Canada. After dealing with this for 30 mins & very anxious to get on the road home, I asked her to just photocopy our registration sheet so we would have proof of stay. Also wanted this as proof of rate we were to be charged because no faith left in their computer system by then. She informed us that the reservation sheet we signed did not show applicable rate & date of stay??? Whaaat? Of course it does...we had to sign & initial sheet at checkin!! Pointed this out to her, she got us a photocopy & finally we got out of there! Note for management...UPGRADE YOUR COMPUTER SYSTEM & TRAINING OF STAFF
It has easy access to Duluth and Two Harbors. The pool is a little small but the kids like it. The beds were great! Clean. very small bathroom. It was great to have microwave and refrigerator. The staff was very friendly. The hot tub needed more water and guests asked several times. I thought it was expensive for what it was and where it was.
My job keeps me in hotels for the majority of the year so, when I arrived at this Best Western, I was extremely satisfied with the comfort of my stay and the attentiveness of the staff. I felt like a family member from arrival to departure. I'll definitely stay here in the future.
avoid this place like the plague. looks nice from outside but extremely dated and poorly maintained inside your room. for the price to stay at this place you can find something much nicer somewhere else.
Perfect location to stay at to explore the Superior/Duluth area. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Property is a bit older, but very well maintained and nicely decorated. Happy hour was a nice surprise.
Great place. Thanks for a wonderful stay. We stayed one night and we felt the rooms where clean and orderly and the staff was great. We would definitely stay again if we are ever in the area. Just a pointer, don't try to walk to the Dairy Queen, it is farther than you think.
Amazing service and staff! Treated us like family, and were always there to help! ITS A MUST TO STAY WITH THEM! They went above and beyond! The breakfast was amazing, plus they have a happy hour M-Th for adults to enjoy.. FREE OF CHARGE! what a nice touch! My kids were sad to leave!
We stayed at the Best Western Bridgeview for 2 nights during a visit to the Duluth/Superior area. The room was clean & nicely decorated, and the bed was very comfortable. The breakfast was tasty with a good variety of breakfast items. The happy hour feature during the week was great, too. We will definitely stay at the Bridgeview again.
We enjoyed the great customer service from Xavier. During our booking he was so nice to answer all of our questions, was very professional, seemed very caring about us and went above & beyond helping us! The location is perfect, as it was right at the Wisconsin entrance off of the bridge from Minnesota. Finally, an amazing breakfast layout, best we have ever seen!
Great place to stay with friendly staff. They are pet friendly. During the week they have snacks in the evening and a full breakfast in the morning. Prices are reasonable for the area. Location is convenient, too.
Booked the Bridgeview as I needed a hotel for one night while passing through on business. The hotel is not brand new but it's clean, well maintained and a good place to stay. The staff are friendly and check-in was efficient. They offered two drink tickets for happy hour which was a welcome surprise after a long day. The pool area is large and looked quite nice, did not go for a swim. The room was clean and comfortable. The weather was hot outside so it was really good to have a room with a good AC unit. Had a good nights sleep on a comfortable bed. No concerns at all. Breakfast in the morning had good choices and was a good way to start the day. Will definitely be back for another stay.
We stayed at this hotel on 8/1/18 and were pleased with the experience. We stayed for 1 night in a poolside room, which was very comfortable and convenient as the door to our room opened right to the pool deck. There was a "happy hour" for adults (Monday-Thursday only) with drinks and snacks included. The continental breakfast was standard. All staff were friendly and helpful.
The hotel was one of the cheapest we found in the area. Only about 10 minutes from the hustle and bustle of Duluth. The staff was friendly. The room was average overall. The beds were comfy but the bathroom was extremely small. The views aren't the best but overall, it was okay.
I would love for someone to explain to me why someone can clean a hotel room and not know that a sink does not drain or a toilet is clogged. The sink here did not drain one drop of water. We called the front desk for a plunger which he said he'd have to bring to us after we offered up to pick it up knowing he was busy checking people in. After 15 minutes, hubby went to the desk. They both came back and hubby tried to use the plunger. So much gunk came up but nothing went down. We moved to a different room, off the swimming pool. Clean but bathroom was small. Happy hour was nice. Layout in hotel was confusing with all the different stairs. Breakfast had the usual fare.
Noisy, outdated, small bathroom, really really teeny bathroom, stuffy, super thin blanket, thin walls, could here noises everywhere, very overpriced , basic room decor, nothing homey, no plug for the tub, had to use washcloth, won't stay here again??
My wife and I stayed here during Grandma's Marathon weekend. While it was a little more than I would have normally liked to spend (everything was expensive that weekend), the extra touches that Anna and her team did for the runners (and our support team, aka my wife) made it great! While this is an older hotel, it has been remodeled well and doesn't feel dated on the inside.
This was very nice, quiet, very clean hotel. The staff helped us find a pharmacy, even printed out directions for us. They had plenty of amenities nice pool, hot tub, fitness room. They provided a very nice complimentary hot breakfast.
Stayed 2 nights, nice room ok service until I checked out! Had issues with key cards and door lock, was fixed and they gave us 10% off our bill, refrigerator didn't work the first day, used hair dryer and melted the ice ourselves, due to maintenance couldn't come until the next day! Checked out and wanted to book a room for first weekend in Sept.2018, was told no discount is allowed that weekend for UW Superior parents and we had to book 2 days or more! when you can book 1 room online! nice rooms and service, but the crap I was told when trying to book a room for Sept. I will never stay there again!
Came on a weekend trip. Outside is outdated and looks bad. The service was good, except for a weekend clerk 2nd shift. She was kinda rude. Got 10 words into telling her what I needed and she was like stop, slow down and start over. I'm a grown man lady dont do that. It's in a great location, they should just tear it down and build new. It's very outdated. Average at best.
My son's hockey team has stayed here for the last two years....plenty of pool space for a group. Breakfast was enjoyed by all and we were able to reserve the breakfast area for our group pizza party, which is adjacent to the pool.
The staff was very helpful and understanding I would definitely stay there again even though there was a little cleanliness issue in the room. the check in was great because I'm Platinum member and Brentton remembered to give me my room upgrade and the extra points Anna was very considerate about the problem we had and handled it well
all and all an excellent place to stay staff is awesome, location is great lots to do and close to restaurants, shopping , bars, attractions, great pool area for kids to play also offer a selection of boardgames for kids to play overall fantastic place and quiet
I was pleasantly surprised with this property. The pool area was huge. The wifi was strong. The location was great. Just a quick 3 min ride over the bridge and you are in Dulth. Lake Superior access is extrememly close and two very neat state parks (with amazing waterfalls) are within a 15 minute drive.
It was a nice place to stay. The location is just across the river from Duluth. The hotel is right at the bridge. The breakfast was very good and the person taking care of the buffet was great. We were happy with our stay.
As usual very good stay, very clean, pool area much improved, service very good especially from Tina at Breakfast and cocktail hour, she makes sure everything is stocked and tells everyone where everything is. Stayed in wing, very quiet, clean room and well stocked. Only complaint I forgot the Canadian card and was not reminded by desk so missed out on getting card punched for free nights.
Friendly hosts and great service! Knowledgeable of area and events. Breakfast host went out of her way to insure the experience was enjoyable. Management were helpful when the dates of stays had to be moved because of a family condition!
Been a while sunce we've been here. Convenient location off US-2. Easy access to Duluth. Nicely appointed rooms. But poolside is really an oasis. Summer. So alot of railroad and construction folk who enjoy the comfort. Best thing: full bar happy hour! With hors d'oeuvres! Walk across the parking lot to Hammond's steak house which is a "do not miss." Staff very relaxed, friendly and welcoming.
We were very happy with our room. It was clean & comfortable. The staff were friendly, knowledgeable & helpful. The breakfast was very good with a good variety of items. We will definitely stay at the Bridgeview again.
Very clean rooms, great food, reasonable price. Staff were very friendly, location is centralized for shopping and restaurants. Hotel was a little farther than where I was actually working, but well worth the extra few miles of travel to be in a clean, comfortable environment. Thanks!!
The staff are very courteous and helpful; they go above and beyond to may your stay comfortable. The hotel itself is very clean and comfortable. I would definitely recommend this property and would stay here again.
It is obvious the hotel is older, but everything was very clean. The room was basic but comfortable. The bathroom area was tight. Our room was poolside and the noise from the pool was loud in the room. The pool area was very large and appeared to be very nice. The breakfast was plentiful.
This is a great property to stay at. Rooms where very clean and staff was friendly. Nice big indoor pool and hot tub with the gym close by. Plus if you need to wash clothes they have it available for a dollar a load and just a jump across the bridge from Duluth
Stayed here on a Sat night cuz we had an event at the steak house across the street. Nothing special but nothing wrong either. Room could have used some updating because furnishings looked to be from the 70's but was comforatable as was the bed. Decent value for the money.
Loud rooms near pool at all hours (while folks are swimming and even partying late at night after pool has closed). Dirty rooms (used condom in cabinet). Crowded hot tub. Good breakfast though same every day.
I usually stay at Marriott properties for business and was staying at the BW for a hockey tournament. While there was a problem with a room cleaning that was easily a miscommunication. I thought the hotel was clean and had a nice decor.
Stayed for a conference meeting - breakfast suits my needs and Internet is more reliable than some hotels. There is a pool but I personally never visit it. The staff are pretty helpful and the rooms are very clean!
very clean front desk staff awesome pool ok but hot tub jets annoying breakfast eggs bacon waffles hot and good free paper coffee at front got early check in and wake up call this part of survey stupid 200 characters! no ididnt accidentally type characters trying to get to 200
Out side looked small and in industrial area. But rooms were so clean, friendly staff, breakfast good. Beds comfortable. Very quiet for a good night sleep. Across the bridge from Duluth. We would stay here again.Loved that.
Great overall experience, close to shopping and centralized location to and from the Duluth area..Pet friendly and the Continental breakfast was great, nice selection of items and a very clean hotel with pool hot tub and exercise room..
Great Place to Stay while visiting Duluth. Deceiving from outside, has a nice pool, decent decor, helpful staff. Must ask for room with fridge, if needed. Tv's are all auto tuned to weather channel after a couple hour of watching.
We've been staying at the Bridgeview for 30 years, at least, whenever we're in the area. They allow us to bring our dog, which is a amust It has always been a great experience, with wonderful service. It is good to know we can expect that each and every time.
First of all the hotel had beautiful pictures of the Duluth Lift Bridge and is actually called the “Bridgeview” Best Western. The hotel has no view of the bridge . You can possibly see the MN to WI bridge but it is definitely not what we thought we were getting for a perk. The hotel was a bit small and outdated. We stayed two nights and never got any housekeeping, although they were on our floor at 8am and I said hello to the person working as we left our room at 10am. We did get clean towels from the front desk when we asked after returning to a dirty room the first evening . The free breakfast did not include many of the items that the Expedia ad boasted (like biscuits and gravy) and the food was pretty processed . Waffle maker was the highlight. Cocktail hour was fine, everything other than beer was set out and warm on the counter including the one bottle of wine. No ability to change the temperature of the room or the water in the shower so it was hot for sleeping and lukewarm showers. The toilet plugged up on Day 2 and the lights in the bathroom area just all of a sudden quit working. Our keys quit working both days when we returned to the hotel and by day two we just figured we were leaving soon and didn't ask for them to be rekeyed. Front desk staff were helpful and friendly. Pool area was clean and seemed family friendly. The location was good. I think we could have stayed somewhere else for the same price that would have more closely resembled a four star hotel and most likely would not return .
Check-in clerk was deadbeat in both appearance and attitude. He and his also deadbeat friend behind the counter ridiculed my name and were surly in attitude. Otherwise, the stay was okay for the price.
The staff were excellent, very friendly and helpful! Able to ask our questions regarding the city, provide maps etc. They were able to accommodate our request for a late check out. We were there on business and unfortunately unable to visit your pool area. We were overall very satisfied with our 2 night stay in your motel.
This hotel is in excellent condition--newly remodeled, I think. The pool area is lovely, too. They need to update the mattresses, though. Our bed was uncomfortably hard. The hotel staff were very friendly and the person at the front desk acted promptly when we reported a loud party at midnight. The complimentary breakfast was delicious and well stocked.
This one is a tough one to rate, some things were very good like the staff and pool area and others were average like the room. We spent 3 days at the Bridgeview while touring the North Shore on our motorcycle with another couple. The staff had a reserved parking spot right outside the office for our bikes and trailers and offered to key an eye on things overnight. In the morning they had soft towels to wipe off the dew, all of this is very much appreciated. Beyond that anytime we needed a recommendation or help the staff was excellent. As a noted the pool and hot tub area was also very good, in great condition and kept clean. As for the room it was a combination, our room was clean and in good condition. It was a mix of old and new, some new tile in the sink/counter area and the bed was newer and very comfortable. The bathroom was smaller than a european hotel bathroom and older. Overall the room smelled old. The common areas also were well used and in need of a refresh. Overall would recommend this as a place to stay as it was clean and the staff was top notch. The facilities are older, for the cost it was worth it in my mind.
This hotel is located right beside Route 535. It is easy to find, but can be difficult to exit during high traffic time periods if you are driving toward Duluth. We are thankful the hotel is pet friendly, but our pet room was not very convenient to a grassy area. Our room faced 535, so was noisy with traffic - especially truck noise. The hotel obviously is aware of the problem b/c ear plugs are waiting for you in the room!. The room was spacious and the K bed comfortable - not too hard, not too soft. Carpeting could have used a good vacuuming, but our dog took care of that. The sink area had ample counter space, but the toilet/shower room was very small - there is just enough room to step in and shut the door and we are not large people. Breakfast is note worthy....eggs, bacon, waffles, cereal, several juices and many other items to choose from - with a spacious area to sit. Overall, a good stay - I just would be picky about room location next time.
This hotel was super easy to find and had everything you may need. The happy hour was nice and even had chicken soup! the breakfast was outstanding. Rooms clean and spacious. Staff were more than helpful.
Upon check-in you are given coupons for a complimentary drink, with limited early evening hours, and only Monday to Thursday . You go to the breakfast room, and feel like you are at a private gathering. The staff assures you, you are in the correct place. You serve yourself drinks and a snack, all with your free ticket. One night was sloppy joes, another night meatballs , and veggies, etc. The breakfast was amazing as well, the swim and hot tub have adult only hours, what a great relaxing time we had. And very easy on the pocketbook. Less than 100 Canadian dollars a night. The free drinks we had, were a choice of rum, gin, etc, and all the mixes including lemon and lime, my husband said it's cheaper than staying home. Super friendly helpful staff, great time
Great stay.. Room was clean, quiet and comfortable. Bathroom was a bit small but functional. Staff overall was friendly and professional. Easy walking distance to other eating and entertainment venues. Breakfast was standard fare, clean and well maintained as well as the evening happy hour.
Needed a place to stay on trip. Hadn't stayed there in years,so decided to give them a try. Their evening appetizers were good, followed by a great breakfast the next morning. Staff was very busy as there was a party going on in the pool area.
Pool area was exceptionally nice room: feathers and bottle cap on floor upon checkin one of the two door cards did not work, and managements card did not work either there was a long black hair in the sink upon checkin the thermostat was at least 20 degrees off it's calibration
This hotel is just over the bridge from Canal Park. There was ample parking, a cute gift shop, a nice breakfast, and nice pool. Everything in the room worked well... the tv, internet, hot water, etc. There were just two of us staying in the room, but we could have easily had a whole family in the room with the sofa in the suite. I really enjoyed having the extra counter space and sink in the room, so we could easily prepare food or left-overs. I also really liked that the pool had adult only hours. The schedule of times when things take place such as breakfast, cocktail hours, pool, etc. was really helpful.
For $80 would be ok. Double that? Nope. Staff is friendly, beds were clean. But, very old and tired. 5 yrs past doors and walls needing some paint. Musty hallways, postage stamp of a bathroom. Practically have to stand in the dirty tub to close the bathroom door. Lowest toilet I have ever used in my life. But you can grab onto the toilet paper holder sticking you in the ribs to stand up. No fridge or microwave. Pass.
We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. Check-in staff were friendly and helpful and gave us tickets to the evening reception with a helpful reminder that it would be ending soon, so we waited to unpack and went straight to the reception. The lady assisting at the reception was also very nice and she was also helpful and friendly at breakfast. Nice breakfast options and eggs as protein as well as peanut butter. The room was very nice, clean with very comfortable beds, we had one of our best nights of sleep here on this vacation
Check in was very quick and easy and we found the front desk staff to be very caring & attentive. The room was nicely decorated & the bed was very comfortable. There was a very good breakfast with lots of choice. We always stay at the Bridgeview when we are in the Duluth-Superior area, and will continue to do so..
We were in Superior to attend a concert in Duluth, MN and this Best Western is located right at the foot of the bridge to Duluth. We have stayed here many times and it is always nice. The hotel has had some recent upgrades to the lobby and pool area. It is always quiet and comfortable, staff is great. I highly recommend this hotel.
I was very impressed at how helpful and friendly all staff members were. The pool and hot tub were clean and relaxing. The breakfast was a great way to start our day and the room was clean and comfortable.
Great location and relaxing place to retreat from Duluth. Very near Superior Cathedral for touring, and just across the bridge from Duluth itself! My family had to be at a wedding in Duluth so the ironing board came in handy along with the multiple mirrors and placing to put on "Sunday Best". Looking the best at Best Western!
They didn't note on reservations we needed disabled access. They thought they had one appropriate room left when we checked in at 2 am. They gave us key access to a room someone was already in, and we ended up awakening them in middle of night.
we always look forward to our stay in Wisconsin at the bridge view we get away from thunder bay Canada the staff remember our names and treat us very nice talking the time to ask how was the drive up from Canada a lot of our friends from thunder bay stay here to is we all can just have a worry free vist and if there is any of a problem they take care of it very fast they have very good ideas on new places to try out for dinner it is just a great family environment I have to see my doctor in Wisconsin a lot I am very relaxed staying at the bridge view which is very important when I see my doctor which makes that much better for me the bottom line is nikki and the staff have just nailed it thank you your friends from thunder bay canada
Very nice older hotel with a convenient location near downtown Superior, WI. Super happy hour at night with drinks and snacks. Very good breakfast. Great Staff. Lots of construction folks staying there. A little noise at night from heavy trucks crossing the bridge nearby.
The location was great for us. Easy to get to area attractions and restaurants. The entire staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast area was well stocked and clean. Pool and hot tub were very nice. The room was big enough and nicely decorated and supplied. They had board games available at the desk. We would definitely stay here again.
We like staying at this hotel when visiting Duluth, but price went up during this weekend we picked and was full. We did get one of the last rooms but were glad we got it! The breakfast was very good with many options and the kids liked making their own waffles . We all had fun in the pool and Hot tub!
The room was clean, the mattress was comfy, the staff was friendly & the jets on the whirlpool are amazing. It's kind of loud in the rooms near the pool but it's only "kids having fun" loud. As soon as the pool closes it's very quiet.
We stayed here July/August 2017. We had an issue with the battery dying on our door, so our key cards would not work. At 1AM, that is totally not what you want to deal with. Toni at the front desk was nice, and she tried her hardest to get us in the room. My daughter Stevie assisted her and after about an hour and a half of. The hotel was good about it and credited us for that nights stay. There were a few downsides, the hall ways were VERY hot, the ac did not seem to work too great in the room, it just did not get a cold as we would like. The breakfast was wonderful and included in our stay. They served scrambled eggs, sausage links, make your self waffles, cereal, juice, milk, coffee, fresh fruit, yogurt, hard boiled eggs. Variety of breads and pastries. Customer Service was always excellent.
when I go there, I always get a friendly welcome, staff is so nice, and helpful, good breakfast, clean rooms, they make sure you have everything you need, and ask you how ur stay is going, and see if there is anything they can help you with, I have stay at a lot of hotels, this is the best one, kevin
Bargain!! Weeknight stay. Mattresses updated & soft, fresh, comfortable bedding. Wonderful Social hour from 4-7p.m. with snacks & cocktails. Breakfast selections were generous & tasty! Newspapers available. We did not use the indoor pool, but saw several young families enjoying a swim. Nice tables around the pool to enjoy a snack or read. Duluth area is VERY EXPENSIVE during the summer. If your willing to cross over the high bridge into Wisconsin, this place is a jewel!!
The outside of this hotel looks nice and when you arrive inside you see it's a little outdate, but okay. However staff is not so great. The guy who checked us in just looked at me like well sorry we have no elevator for your wheelchair and your room is on second floor. I booked a handicap room - no you did not online. Okay yes I did why would I not. Okay fine I will take a non handicap room thanks for moving me to the first floor as the wheelchair I have does not do stairs. I also asked to be moved the next day as I could not get my son in the bathroom (the one in wheelchair) and they said no room open on a Sunday night. If you go there in a wheelchair hope it doesn't rain or snow a lot if you want to eat breakfast you have to go outside to get to the breakfast room. (hope they send you to the right door as we had to go back and ask again) Just so you know you can't control the temperature in your room at this hotel. They have it set to warm with a fan. You can adjust the speed of your fan in your room but that is it. The shower will take your skin off it hits you so hard. Doors don't shut well so double check them when leaving your room. Make sure you have toilet paper before you sit down they don't have extra in the bathroom. And that clean remote in the sleeve - really is not clean. Pool was cloudy also. One advantage is it is right over bridge and easy to get to Canal Park.
Very dissatisfied with the room and more dissatisfied with the hotel staff. The room and hallways smelled like the pool. Food was poor and hotel staff was room and condescending. There is no temperature control in the rooms and they were hot and very humid.
This was a very clean hotel. A lot of variety for the breakfast. Staff were very friendly. The property was very easy to find, it was on the main road coming over the bridge from Duluth. Being this is the summer, prices were very high and booked up in Duluth at the time we book, this was still higher priced, but ok for our trip
Friendly people to greet you at the front desk. Very clean room with comfortable beds. We were there during the week so we had a very nice Happy Hr. with food and drinks. We also enjoyed the good hot breakfast. The pool area was very inviting.
For the most part we had a pleasant stay. We received the room we had requested which was spacious, clean, and nicely decorated. The beds were very comfortable. It was nice to have two TV's. There was also a nice kitchenette. Only complaint about the room was the bathroom was rather small and didn't have a vanity that was big enough to put your toiletries on. We had to leave them on the kitchen counter and keep reaching over there for our stuff. I also don't think it was necessary to have a heat lamp in there. It made the room rather hot. We had a room that was adjacent to the pool and spa and close to the breakfast room which was very convenient. The hotel also had a guest laundry that only cost $1 per machine. There was only one set of machines though, and the lighting was very dim which made it very hard to see if there were any stains on your clothes. The steakhouse next door served delicious food and very generous portions. The meal was so good it really made our stay. The location seemed a little odd for such a great restaurant. Unfortunately, breakfast wasn't very good. The fake eggs were very bad. There wasn't much selection. The timer didn't work on the waffle machine. The toaster was very difficult to get a slice of bread in. Strangely there was music playing in the pool area from at least 5 AM ( that's when I noticed it ) until 7 AM. I don't know what was going on. My son was sleeping in the front room of our suite and didn't notice it, but I certainly wouldn't have been able to sleep if I wasn't in the back room. I thought it would be best to stay on this side of the bridge to avoid the Duluth morning traffic, but the area was a little run down.
We chose this hotel for a few reasons. First was the location. Second was the price(was less then staying in Duluth). Third was being right down the street from Anchor Bar and Grill(a DDD restaurant). Front desk and staff were very friendly and helpful. We had a nice king room with a view of the bridge. Traffic on bridge could be heard during busy times but was very quiet at night. Room was very nice and quite large. Pool was nice. Hot tub was a great temperature. The hotel hosts a happy hour from 5:30 - 7:00. Mixed drinks, keg beer, and snacks were included. When you check in, they give you tickets to participate. Breakfast is the same as most restaurants.
Stayed here with a team of dudes (20+ of us) and we were given a great rate by calling the hotel directly. It's a quick drive to Duluth (free parking!) and there is a decent little strip in Superior within walking distance for your restaurant/bar needs.
We were a little scared of this hotel at first because it looks run down from the outside. They have made some upgrades inside the hotel but they need to do more. The best part of our stay was the excellent staff they have. It's not everyday you have a positive experience with the whole staff at a hotel but they have a really great staff. We choose this hotel as a stopover before driving to Wisconsin Dells and the location was excellent. We found it right away and it was easy to find the connecting highway.
We travel to superior quite often. The BW Bridgeview is our choice for lodging. The room was redone and we loved it. We will stay here again. The hotel has easy access to Duluth and Superior businesses. Thank you for the wonderful stay.
We love this place. The pool is warm. The atmosphere is family friendly and laid back. The staff is always so helpful. It always provides a great escape for our family. The location is perfect. It is just across the bridge between Duluth and Superior. It is very close to Canal Park and all it's activities. Shhh, it's the best kept secret!
When we checked into the hotel, the man at the front desk could not tell us where to get dinner. He also couldn't help us to connect to the internet. Housekeeping failed to clean our room for the second night even though they made the beds.
This hotel was nice, clean, and filled with a good staff. The only complaint we have was the amount of noise. We were by the pool which was fine until 9 pm. At that point it was very loud. It lasted until 11. My family found sleep after that but were awoken early (before 5) by train horns outside our window.
Hotel staff were nice. Room smelled musty. Blanket had black hair on it . Halls and stairs were dirty. Hotel is mostly quiet and rooms fill your needs, but cleanliness is something they really need to work on.
The room was spacious, the breakfast was more than we expected, the staff was very accomodating! They were really helpful with things to do in the area and how to get there. The breakfast was huge! Would stay again!
Soon as we walked in the room we could smell mildew and it intensified when we turned on the AC unit. I went to the desk to complain and was told if the smell is too bad they can move us to another room. We had unloaded all our baggage and had items in the frig already. There was a large stain on the carpet and neither the clock nor nightstand light worked.
We enjoyed our stay in Superior (even though in rained). Our hotel was clean and comfy and the staff we saw were friendly. We enjoyed the happy hour they have M-Th, a nice surprise. We found it quiet and beds good. Breakfast has some extra touches like strawberries & whipped cream for the waffles, sliced peaches, and that day they had eggs & sausage. If you are a rail fan, the Museum in Duluth is a must!
Hotel is clean and staff was very friendly. Rates were very nice compared to other hotels in the area. The only draw back was we were pool side and people did not abide by the night time curfew so others could sleep.
We had a poolside room and my daughter had a few friends for a sleepover and they loved it. Breakfast had many choices and the rooms were very clean. The staff was helpful even with carrying in more bags and cleaning. I would recommend this hotel.
This hotel has been renovated and is nicely decorated but the pool area is really exceptional! The sky lights and very large sitting area make it a perfect place to gather with family or friends. We had a poolside room which was a little noisy early in the evening but no noise at all after 11:00 PM.
Staff was wonderfull. Hotel is outdated and paying for a "suite" just isnt worth the money. No elevator so bringing luggage for a family of 4 up to room is burdensome. All rooms overlook the pool which means the noise from the pool area is heard in all rooms. Rooms were poorly decorated, pull out sofa had used linens on it.
The pool was closed during most of our stay which was disappointing as we had pool side rooms. We were suppose to next to family and the hotel could not accommodate us. The staff tried to make up for it but over all it just was not a good stay for us.
Terrific motel - always stay at a best western and this is one of the best we have found. comfortable mattresses and comfortable pillows. Wonderful bathroom with clean tile flooring and a wonderful living room with lots of cabinets and drawers for personal items.
I usually stay at the Bridgeview for work. The staff is more then willing to go above and beyond to help with any issues that may arise. The breakfast and pool area are wonderful. Many new updates. Thank you..
I stay at many hotels throughout the Midwest with work and stay here often. One of the most welcoming hotels I stay at. The happy hour is a nice touch. Clean, comfortable, and welcoming. And the staff is great. A big shout out to Sarah at the front desk who always makes sure your stay is satisfactory and goes that extra mile! -394
Don't let it's age fool you, it's been well maintained and managed. The staff make enhances this wonderfully maintained property, making for a pleasant stay. The rooms are nicely updated with HDTV, high speed wireless (although a bit slow at 3 Mbps) and pleasant surroundings.
My group of 5 women were disappointed when the pool and whirlpool were unavailable to us at our one-night stay at the BW/Bridgeview in Superior, Wi. Sarah Quade, who was manning the desk, went out of her way to see that we were were compensated. She could not have been nicer and more understanding. The breakfast selections were outstanding, as well, and we appreciated how neat and appetizing everything was kept by Malianna (maybe the name is not quite correct. She is a lovely Thai lady)
Perfect getaway especially for families This hotel was updated with a nice pool and hot tub as well as a sauna After an exhausting day of shopping you can just relax the night away in a safe clean environment poolside Would recommend to everyone Good quality at a reasonable price
I love this location. I have stayed here several times. Its right across the bridge from Duluth on the Wisconsin side. Very cool ship themed gift shop with suites attached to the indoor pool. Great for kids and big groups.
I liked the hotel but just about roasting to death overnight and unable to turn down the heat. They welcomed us with a happy hour, which was very nice. The pool looked very nice - we had our complimentary drinks and nibbles overlooking the pool. We met some of the nice people staying at this hotel.
The hotel has been nicely updated. The lobby is very inviting with a cute gift shop attached. They have done a good job of integrating the area's shipping industry in the décor. The hotel is clean and the staff is very friendly. Rates are reasonable. There are several options for great dining in the area. Our family has been coming here for over 32 years!
Wanted a place near UW Superior that had a large pool area and suite options. The 2nd level poolview suite was great for our family. As other reviewers have said, you do hear the loud noise from the pool when you're in the room, but we expected that. Those of us not swimming enjoyed the larger open pool area with tables. Friendly staff, clean room, nice towels and amenities. The extra sitting area in the suite was large and comfortable, but the sofa sleeper was not at all comfortable for sleeping (glad I only needed to sleep on it for 1 night!).
The Bridgeview has been remodelled since our last visit . It is modern and very inviting in all areas . The new breakfast area is great . Breakfast has a wide variety of items , hot and cold . The business area is well set up and easy to use . A highly recommended motel .
check in by Sarah, she is so nice, Anna always makes my stays nice, meet Nikki, I like her, staff is very nice, rooms are clean and nice, good breakfast ,the hotel has amazing staff, and will always stay there.
Before I fill you in on some of the little things that were off, let me say that the front desk staff were top notch. Friendly, efficient, informative, and professional. Our room was what you expect from the nicer best western motels. But it was hot, and we couldn't get it cooled off. Had to open the window (which was not easy), but that came with a lot of street noise. One headboard wasn't attached to the wall correctly and knocked against the wall all the time. We were given free passes to a happy hour in the breakfast area. Happy hour had some free alcohol, soda, and snacks. The lady who was supposed to be overseeing it preferred to sit and visit with someone and to just yell across the room to us, often. Very unprofessional. There's a bar and restaurant across the parking lot. It's good enough, nothing special.
Oldie but goodie - this is a renovated hotel inside an older building so it maintains its charm. The breakfast area is in an area that feels like the galley of a ship - with portals for windows. The staff is friendly and courteous. Adam was very helpful when we asked about local attractions and good eats. Hotel is right next to the bridge but is amazingly quiet.
Always have a very pleasant stay, staff always friendly and helpful, especially Tina, she always welcomes us with open arms. Really like to stay in a suite as more comfortable, beds are excellent. Enjoy the full breakfasts and cocktail hour. Pool area very clean as was pool and hot tub. Sarah at front desk very pleasant and helpful.
First time at a Best Western in a long time, will definitely return. Immaculately clean, comfortable room, great staff. Loved the pet friendly room with no extra charge. Room was large, bed was comfortable, breakfast hours excellent on Saturday.
We mainly chose this hotel because we had kids that wanted to stay at a hotel and play in a pool. This hotel is less expensive than most in the area, and doesn't look like much on the outside, but it's clean and well kept, the rooms are comfortable and the breakfast is good: scrambled eggs, sausage, oatmeal, waffles, 5 cereals, fruit, yogurt, hard boiled eggs, bagels, toast... Our poolside suite had a pull out couch which was great for watching a movie and then for kids to sleep on, however the pool noise was audible through the window/door until at least 10pm. There's not much of a sound barrier there, so if you like quiet, you might avoid a poolside room.
The staff went out of their way to make us feel right at home! Best customer service I've ever experienced at any establishment. The pool area was nice for the kids as well and you could bring food to the tables near by which was nice.
We decided to visit Duluth at the last minute, and after learning our first choices were unavailable, booked this hotel because it had rooms that would accommodate five people. It is just across the Blatnik bridge in Superior, WI, and there is easy access to the Canal Park area of Duluth. The hotel is in a slightly run-down semi-industrial area, but it did not feel unsafe. The hotel setup has all the rooms facing on the pool area. There are kids in the pool from 8:00 am until 10:00 pm. This makes for a rather noisy atmosphere. I got the impression that a lot of the guests were here primarily for the kids to have a swimming holiday. So if you want to give your children a chance to swim during the winter, this place is fine. The rates were reasonable, and you can quickly get over to Duluth for other entertainment venues.
Very helpful and caring staff. Knew I was working night shift and gave me a room away from all the bustle of the hotel. Clean quit and dark room with curtains pulled shut. Allowed early check in and late check out to allow me to rest for work. Thank you!
Great price, service, and the staff makes you feel at home. Nice indoor pool and hot tub. The rooms are very nice and spacious. Breakfast has lots of options. M-F they have cocktail parties that are a bonus to any stay.
In Duluth for a basketball tournament the majority of the team stayed here. We were able to hang out by the pool and socialize between games and into the evening. We had rooms that were poolside and balcony. The rooms were clean and updated. Wifi worked great. The staff were helpful and very accommodating to our large group. Kids had a lot of fun in a very nice pool area that is rare these days. They are either an afterthought or they are waterparks which usually mean $$$ and not worth it. We will be back next year.
This older property is updated and well maintained, staffed with friendly people, and offers great amenities. Not only is the wifi pretty good at around 5 Mbps, they have a free Happy Hour several nights and free breakfasts each morning. This is a fine option in Superior WI. You'll not be disappointed.
Hotel rooms have been remodeled and are nice. Close to Duluth also. Rooms have microwave and refrigerator. Hotel has pool, workout room, hot breakfast and cold breakfast items. My go to hotel in Superior.
This is an excellently maintained older motel, right next to the high bridge connecting Superior, WI and Duluth, MN. The grounds were impeccable, we visited in mid September 2016 as greenery is winding down for the year, but their lawns, hedges and plantings were in tip top shape. The motel is located in an old industrial area so there's not much to see within walking distance. But, on the other hand it's great for walking your dog because there isn't much traffic either - unless you walk along the main highway next to the motel! The room was small, the bathroom was so tiny there wasn't even room to shut the door (that's a joke!), but the evening snacks and the continental breakfast were top notch! All in all, A BEST BUY! Kudos to the staff for doing a great job!
Loved the view of bridge from our room. Honored our 800 booking request of room near exit for my disabled husband. Knowledgeable staff gave excellent restaurant suggestions. Great location to all attractions especially the harbor.
I recently stayed with my family, while we visited Duluth and the surrounding area. From the moment we walked in to check in, the staff was warm, friendly, and helpful. Whether it was Sarah or Leydon, we were in good hands. We did have some troubles with our HVAC unit, but alternate heaters were promptly delivered to the room as well as additional blankets. I am thoroughly impressed by the staff and other amenities offered at this property. I will certainly plan to stay again here when we travel this way in the future.
Small, hotel in an industrial area with not many restaurants near by. The one across the street had an upstairs cafe above their bar, but it was old and needed to clean their carpets. Food just decent The hotel was convenient because we were only there to take the North shore scenic trail of Lake Superior for the day. It did serve an ok complimentary breakfast. P.S. It does not have any view of the lift bridge or any others that I could see.
Hotel was okay, house keeping left our door open, so our room was left open for the afternoon and evening, while we were out. Not very happy with that. I slept well, the beds were comfortable. When we checked in, we were able to check in earlier than actual check in time, so that was nice. The location was convenient for access back over to Duluth area.
This hotel was not cheap but the welcome was OK. The breakfast room was very small. Our room was on the first floor. Very basic and not very clean. Especially the bathroom floor. Not enough in room drinks or bathroom requisites. Stayed for 2 nights bit glad to leave. My advice is stay away unless you have children who want to swim.
The hotel was just what we needed at the end of our trip. Staff were wonderful. The hotel was clean. They were very accommodating especially given that they could nod not find our Reservation. Staff responded to every request promptly. My sister and I were glad we decided to stay at this hotel.
So I was there for a little more than a week for work, took this hotel based on price, and for the money it was ok. Got into my room and had 2 beds, One of the beds had a pill on it (from the last resident I guess). My room was on an end that had its own outside stairs and entry, all night I could hear people CLEARLY running up an down the stairs. The staff were friendly, the breakfast was good, and overall it was an ok time.
This hotel is definitely showing its age and not in a good way. The rooms are large, and clean; however the maintenance of this building is in dire need. The rooms smell musty, the bathroom shows signs of shoddy repairs on tile work and hardware replacement. The hallways have paint touch ups everywhere. The key entrance into the rooms barely work and into Building B does not work at all. The buildings are furnished in a nautical theme, but the stairs and halls are full of cobwebs. I would not stay here again and would spend a couple more dollars to stay in Duluth.
Driving back from Ontario to Vancouver, we stayed at several Best Western properties, this was the only one that disappointed. Close to a noisy bridge and trains, the room we were given was right by the pool and was very musty smelling. On top of that their pool policy was that people could use it to 11 PM, not the normal 10 PM in most hotels and it was noisy up to that time, which is difficult when you are getting up a 6 am. Room "felt" dirty, not well cleaned. The saving grace was the staff at the "Happy Hour" were very nice considerate people, but this hotel needs to be upgraded to stay in the Best Western family.
We decided to make a trip over Labor Day weekend and made reservations here. On arrival, we checked in and received our room key. My wife went to the room while I moved the car closer. On entering the room, the first thing we noticed was the smoke smell, the second was the 2 Queen beds. We had reserved a King room. Returned to the desk and pointed out we had reserved a king room, which the reservation showed. We waited 15-20 minutes while the only person working rearranged all the weekend reservations to get us the room we reserved. In the mean time, another family came in to check in and had to wait while this was going on. When we got to the king room, there was a musty odor. We opened the window while we went to eat. No better when we got back. Found another hotel in Duluth, which was the opposite direction of our planned visits for the weekend. I cancelled the next 2 nights at this place. I completed the reviews from BW and the hotel. On Sept 12 I received an e-mail from someone claiming to be the General Manager of the hotel offering an immediate credit of 1/2 our bill to our credit card. A month later and I am still waiting for the credit. I have called twice with no return phone call. I will be contacting BW corporate about this. I feel BW would be doing themselves a favor to drop this location from their brand.
This is a well kept and maintained Best Western. The rooms are clean and the furnishings are exactly what you'd expect. A flat screen TV in all rooms. There is a nice indoor pool and whirlpool. We enjoyed our short stay
Made reservation 3 1/2 months in advanced and when we arrived could not be found. We even got an email the day before welcoming us. Luckily there was a room available. The room had a slight musty smell. But comfortable. The restaurant across the street was an excellent place for dinner. Nothing stood out to make it above average.
We spent the night here and it was not good. Our bedside lamp didn't work, numerous wall outlets didnt work, the sink water pressure was WAY too strong and everytime we washed our hands we ended up soaking ourselves. The wifi would cut out constantly, one of our windows didnt even have a screen, and the windows were so rickety it was hard to open. As for continental breakfast, UGH. Half the food had run out and we had to keep waiting for more food, there was absolutely no maple syrup for your waffles, the coffee maker in the breakfast room was out of order so we had to go all the way to the lobby for coffee, and every single garbage can was overflowing and no one was emptying them. We sadly had to leave our trays and garbage on a nearby table. The fact that we had to pay $150 USD for one night and THIS is what we got, we are so disappointed and disgusted.
A modest place with an enclosed central courtyard with heated pool and hot tub. There are a lot of truckers here during the week, and it felt just a little too uncomfortable to get into the hot tub or pool with them...but they are gone by Friday, when the couples and families come in. Our corner room echoed from the shouts of kids in the pool until 10 pm, and the room felt way too small for all the furniture, with all the equipment crowded around the sink at the far end in front of the heater blowing on you. The fluorescent fixture over the sink was just awful, way too bright. No plug for a bath. Our maid left out the coffee or the shampoo or something every day. But the bed was very comfortable, and we slept well. The breakfast included hot scrambled eggs and sausage or bacon, along with the waffle maker and the other bagels and breakfast foods and was good. There was a puddle of water at the base of our stairs that never went away, and I got my long dress wet in it going to a wedding and was not happy about it. The stairs seemed shallower than code, and you have to be careful on them. The neighborhood has a lot of bars and strip clubs and no place to walk after dark and you have to drive elsewhere to get anything. The bridge was closed in one direction so you had to do a long detour to get to Duluth. The rate went DOWN after we booked, which did not sit well with us. But it was good enough and we quickly got used to the drawbacks and were able to enjoy the good things about our stay. No, I would not stay there again, though I usually like Best Western best of all affordable chains.
This was a very nice motel - Clean and very friendly staff. The pool was very nice and the breakfast was delicious, more food than you need to eat and great choices. The location was okay, the bridge was out going to Duluth at the time we were there for construction, so it would be an easy trip over if that would have been open.
I take road trips across the US and when I do, I often try to stay at Best Western hotels or motels. I find them to be generally reliable in terms of price, quality and cleanliness. This one was not up to the standards I'm used to. The fixtures, finishes and furnishings of my first floor room were all a little tired. There was a nautical theme to the decor which was fine, but the hotel itself was quite warm and muggy. Some of that humidity seemed to come from the pool area, but it permeated the whole floor and was uncomfortable. The service from the hotel staff was a little "off." The first room to which I was sent was not cleaned, so they had to find me another. In the morning there was a miscommunication about the hours of the breakfast and I saw the server being a bit gruff with several guests about this time difference. The hotel itself is in a fairly commercial area that is not very attractive and unfortunately there is not a lot within walking distance (e.g. few restaurants or other consumer businesses). This was also one of the more expensive Best Westerns I stayed in during my most recent two week road trip. Staying at Bridgeview was not a terrible experience, but given the price and my expectations from visiting other Best Westerns around the country, I found this a little disappointing.
The hotel Best Western Bridge View Superior is OK. The hotel is about 35 years old, but has a nice central area with enclosed pool. On Monday – Thursday they have a happy hour where you can get two (PP) beers or mixed drinks, and appetizers on the house between 5:30 &7 PM. The pool is enclosed with rooms all around. Breakfast was excellent.
My daughter attended a birthday party there this past weekend and her and the birthday girl both ended up with bug bites on their body. These bites turn out to be from bed bugs so I highly recommend not staying here.
Although the surrounding town is rundown this particular Best Western looked/felt great. The overall appearance of the landscaping, the unique custom gift shop, and the pool were all over the top. Very cool indoor pool/hot-tub set up. Felt like a Best Western Plus or Premier.
From check-in, where the pregnant lady had a "careless" attitude to customer service, to a poolside room that was dark & dingy, to allowing pool users to be in the pool at 11PM, rather than the more common 10PM...this was the poorest of the 12 BW's across the US and Ontario...which is very disappointing, especially when you consider it was the most expensive 1 night stay of our vacation.
We have stayed at this hotel a year ago and returned because we were/are very pleased with our stays. The rooms have been recently painted and are pleasant and cheerful. The bedding was fresh with lots of pillows on the beds. The breakfast room is a room dedicated to breakfast so it is large and has many offerings. The breakfast room attaches to the pool area so you never have to balance your food on your knees...there are plenty of tables. We didn't use the pool, but it is large with tables around the perimeter and ample space for many people. The area in which the hotel is located used to be a rough area, but the city has done much to clean out the old buildings and provide light after dark. We didn't feel uncomfortable staying there or going to our car after dark at all. My only complaint would be that the bathroom had no grab bars. Given that many/most of the people in the hotel when we were there were seniors, it would seem a good idea to install them. I for one really depend on them. Criticism of this place in reviews I have read seem to ignore the fact that this is a refurbished hotel and beats the prices of the competition by several dollars. The location to everything, including Duluth, can't be beaten. We will continue to return to this hotel and be grateful for a delightful breakfast, free newspaper and a good night's sleep in a quiet location. A lovely restaurant, The Hammond, is across the street and offers amazing food. Once you're parked, you can walk to everything you'd want.
We are retired upper middle class professionals who take car trips when we can get away. We nearly always stay in Best Western hotels for which I have carefully checked out reviews. Didn't happen this time. Oops. First impression-I really didn't like the neighborhood and it is at the bottom of an interstate on ramp. The landscaping is fresh and nice. We had asked for a quiet room and were put in the second room from the main staircase (no elevator but only 2 stories, with the coffee at the bottom of the stairs in the lobby), across from the ice machine and facing the traffic. The lobby and hallway looked fine, impression of staff was that it's just a job-confirmed later with an interaction my husband had. We were there for 2 nights, Sunday and Monday so it wasn't busy at all. The hot breakfast was standard. The good-Twinings Earl Grey tea on the very nice coffee bar and good coffee; the indoor pool area with tables right next to the breakfast area and large well-cared for plants; new carpet; comfy beds. The not so good-The room-no microwave, no full-length mirror, the narrow bathroom entry partially obstructed by the A/C unit. Strange update/decorating choices. The ugly- More than a minute to get into the room because the room keys worked occasionally; Sunday when we arrived there was quite a lot of dirt with rocks and grass on the carpeted stairs at our most convenient exit by our car. Monday morning the same only the grass was drier and the dirt getting ground in/ Monday night-still there/Tuesday morning-still there but really ground in. It seems they have recently 'updated,' a relative term I think. They seem to have missed updating the shower. And cleaning. There is old tile as a shower/antique bathtub surround----and the grout is quite moldy. I really didn't want to touch it. The A/C unit was really dusty, moldy and filthy (OLD dust and filth) inside and we were concerned about turning it on but did so while we were gone during the day (and it smelled moldy when we got back) and off at night. When I turned the shower water off Tuesday morning the hot water would not go all the way off (there was quite a stream) so my husband quickly took his shower and was only able to get it off by turning it as far on as it would go, then turning it off. He reported it to the maintenance guy who said he would take care of it that morning. We would not stay here again.
This hotel was a bit outdated with a smallest bathroom I have ever seen in a hotel. The other complaint was an overwhelming chorine smell from the indoor pool. Room was clean and the front desk staff was helping. This is good for a quick one night stay, but overall the hotel is a bit outdated.
Not a great experience. We tried to check in early, but could not. Requested change from double queen to King, which we were told could be accommodated. When we returned for check in, we were given a room on the second floor. When we asked if a first floor room was available, we were told no. Upon entering our room, we discovered two queens! When I went to ask for the king bed we were promised, we were begrudgingly given one...ON THE FIRST FLOOR! Wifi completely nonfunctional. No elevator. Halls smelled of chlorine. Room smelled of mildew/mold, and the window would not open. Never again.
this was the most overpriced hotel I ever stayed in ,we paid $355 for two nights over the labor day weekend, the wi fi was hit and miss the pool area was a free for all with hot tub below water level and kids kicking balls into hot tub all the time , they had one desk staff doing all the work each weekend night, and the maids did an awful job "cleaning" the room after the first nigh , still had trash and same bed sheets on the beds they just left a couple towels in bathroom ,and the next morning we woke up to drip from the rain the night before coming from ceiling ,try to stay in Duluth if you can we had no choice as it was a short notice trip:( never again!!!
very nice hotel since the last stay, looked like brand new room with all the updates. Best hotel staff I have seen in a long time. overall very good, but a little pricey, missed the free evening drinks on weekends. always had great beers.
Best hotel to stay if you do not want a Lake view and do want to save few dollars during your travel in & around Duluth. Would be my first choice, if travelling with family, plenty of quick service restaurant in the vicinity of the hotel.
Our room was very clean and quiet. It is located in a quiet part of town. If the bridge would not have been under construction it would have been very easy to get to. Very friendly staff! Close to sights in both Superior and Duluth.
Comfortable, clean, good beds, good breakfast, helpful staff, cookies and coffee in lobby. Close to lots of attractions. Great amenities Spacious rooms. Everything in working order. Great location. Affordable but weekend rates high
went back to bridgeview this sunday and was so impressed , the staff are very friendly and I had a small request that seemed to get lost but the desk staff made it all right fast and friendly ........the breakfast area has improved with being clean , and a large amount of choices ....the rooms have been redone , floors , pictures , bedding , window coverings ....we asked a staff what happened that there is such a great change in looks and service ...we were told that management has changed .........sorry but that is great news and very much needed ...we now tell our friends who always travel with us that it is back to how a hotel should be , smiles and friendly service.....thank you from 2 families and there kids .
Clean rooms great location easy to get to duluth for sights good price. Helpful employees and good pool area for the kids with adult only time also nice breakfast. All and all a very good stay with family and made for good weekend great place to stay while visiting the north shore
Decent room nothing fancy and good breakfast with variety.Five minutes from Duluth which was our destination but much higher prices. Fun pizza places nearby downtown right there in WI too and quiet downtown area unlike Duluth, tho area appears a little run down but ok.
I couldn't pick up the wifi unless I stepped out of my room and logged in; once I had it it was fine in my room until my ipod went to sleep, and then I had to step out and log in all over again. Noise came through the door more than average, but I appreciate a clean room above all else in a hotel and since I live with 4 kids, noise doesn't bother me much anymore. The room was very clean and staff was very accommodating and friendly.
We spent one night at this hotel. Our room had a weird odor and the air conditioning and WiFi was terrible. The bathroom is so tiny. It was so hot throughout the whole building. Pool was just ok. People were wearing their day clothes in the pool. This place definately needs an update.
Very nice hotel, appeared to be recently updated, friendly staff at check in, very helpful, comfortable room. We were booked next to the pool and thought that might be a problem. It was not even though there were many people with children it quieted down early and no issues with getting a good nights sleep.
The high speed wireless connection did not work at all. The bed and pillows were hard. The room was way too cold. The toilet in the bathroom was hard to get to. It was in a very small space. The room had a bad odor to it.
Friendly welcoming staff. Spotless room and the best hotel breakfast in quite some time. I liked the location and on a hot summer day the pool was most welcome. I found the staff to be exemplary . The Hotel was sold out but every issue was dealt with promptly. I plan on coming back next summer and will stay longer than overnight. My compliments on a fine hotel and very competent staff.
My husband asked me to check out. We always pay cash when we are in the US rather than using the credit card. At check out Tom who was at front desk said to me that we did not pay cash and I repeatedly told he nicely that my husband paid at check in. Tom automatically charged my CC. I went to get my husband while he was out with the kids packing up. Tom told him also he did not pay, 5 min later Tom realized the room was paid cash and was not able to reverse the charges because the manager was not in yet. There were other guests who were workers and they were waiting for their receipts and were not happy because Tom front desk said he would email them but these workers wanted their receipt. We did not have an issue with the room or the hotel itself. The room was fine and clean, breakfast was great and check it was good too. I was disappointed at check out. I saw Tom at the breakfast room helping himself to breakfast who should be at front desk. I have been to many BW and never once did I ever see an employee do this. If you pay cash at check in always get a receipt to avoid issues with Tom at check out.
A fine, moderately priced hotel. Easy to find. Clean and comfortable beds. Pretty decent shower. Has large swimming pool area in center of building. Almost all rooms share a window/door with this pool area. Pool area is quite loud until 10pm. You've been warned.
Very clean and comfy hotel with friendly and accommodating staff. Young man directed us to Anchor Bar for dinner, which was a fun experience with a great burger. Breakfast is quite adequate and good variety. We had ZERO wifi the entire 27 hours we were there. We complained, they said they would reboot the system. Never did get wifi and never heard from the desk. I am questioning if they actually have a working system right now.
Over priced. Nothing special. Had 1/4 of a roll of toilet paper, and no extras. Had 5 kleenex left and no extras. Cleaning carts were left out right by where you walked to go outside. Very noisy pool side room. Found hair in bathroom.
Have stayed here before. Good place just to relax and Sit in hot tub and have a great breakfast. Hotel has a small gift shop to buy snacks and other things. Pet friendly and very quiet rooms. This hotel is a easy drive over the bridge from Duluth and a stones throw from lake superior.
The hotel is conveniently located just across the long bridge into Superior, Wisconsin from Duluth, Minnesota. Our maps app made this sound complex but it was not. I35 to I535 toward Superior, accross the long bridge, right turn at the first light and your there. This hotel has been recently up dated so the facility was new, fresh and clean. Their continental breakfast has a good selection of breakfast items, and the staff kept the area clean and neat. Restored area of Duluth and the Aerial Lift Bridge are close by and easy to access. We traveled up the North Shore of Lake Superior on Highway 61 all the way to the Canadian border and back in one day stopping along the way to see some sights.
The hotel was nice and pet friendly. It was right beside a mall and an Olive Garden. The room was spacious as we had a 1 bedroom suite with a pool view. We only had a couple down falls at this location. The front desk guy was not a very friendly person, the pool view room actually has a hallway on both sides so it's a little extra noisy and with two dogs was a bit of a pain and last the air conditioner is in the living room where our 3 year old slept. This again was not a big deal but the humidity of the pool kept the room warm and it was tough not to freeze the little one while trying to keep the 1 bedroom cool. I would stay here again.
Very nice and friendly staff. Clean and comfortable place to stay. Very reasonable price for the area. We were in town for a wedding and the other members of the wedding party were disappointed in the service where they were staying. We paid less then they did and we had a great place to stay.
We came to the area for a family reunion at the Pattison State Park in Superior. This was close to the location of the reunion, most of our family was staying there, it was very clean, front desk staff were very respectful and helpful. We would definitely stay there again if in the area.
Since we were here three years ago they have done a complete remodel and done a good job. They redone the breakfast area and the food was great and very well attended. Rooms are still being done but looking good. Maid service was great and helped out where needed. Great stay.
They screwed up our reservation, refused to fix it (until I lost my temper), then tried to bill us an extra $100 for their mistake. Very uncomfortable beds, flat pillows, awkward set up in the bathroom so my 4 year old couldn't use it alone (heck, when I used the toilet, I could only touch the floor with my tiptoes and could barely reach the toilet paper myself - and I'm not overly short), very noisy because all rooms are near the pool (and their staff made noise for a good 30 minutes after the pool closed at 11 by dragging chairs back into place instead of lifting them quietly), the room was filthy (thank goodness I travel with lysol wipes -- the toilet and all countertops/tables were disgusting), and the staff was probably the rudest and most unfriendly staff I've ever had the displeasure of dealing with. I paid close to $400 for a room for two nights (we had a suite so my daughter could go to bed by 7 in a quiet room as this was her first trip away from home) and it was a waste of money... I found another hotel that will only be $200 for two nights in a suite next time we go...
To the plus side, this hotel is a good location if you need to be near Duluth. It is just across the bridge. Hotels on the lake front in Duluth are ridiculously expensive, so this hotel is a nice, relative value. The rooms show their age despite some attempts to update them. The bathroom is quite tiny and there was something slowly leaking from the ceiling in ours. Overall, the rooms work, especially if you aren't planning on spending a lot of time in them. The staff was friendly enough, too. We had an issue with the bill at check-out as they were trying to charge me quite a bit more than had been confirmed when I made the reservation. It was frustrating that Best Western either didn't train their staff to make the corrections or authorize them to do so. I left and wasn't sure what would be corrected (if anything) or when it might get done. To their credit, the "newbie" working the front desk called me back after a couple of hours and said he had corrected the charges. He had also given me the e-mail address of the hotel manager. She replied to my e-mail quickly, too. So, they did a good job resolving the problem. However, Best Western could put some things in place to help the resolution take place immediately. One more thing, the hotel has a large indoor pool area that is surrounded by most of the rooms. If you don't want that noise or swimming pool smell, ask for a room away from the pool. All in all, if you don't mind an older hotel and are more concerned with the location, this Best Western should work fine for you.
If you like dirty sheets, bugs in your rooms and staff who tells you they are not cockroaches but June Bugs then this is the place for you. Unfortunately, it was a busy weekend and could not find other accommodations....buyer beware
This was my second stay at this hotel. They have a fantastic indoor pool area. I travel with dogs and this property is OK for pets. Not a lot of grass, it's all in the rear. However there is lots of grassy areas available across the street - so it's not really a problem. The breakfast is better than average. This is an older property, well constructed, clean, well maintained, and the rooms are on the large size. I'd stay here again.
Great place to stay. The staff is very helpful with any questions you may have. The breakfasts are really above and beyond other motels. It is clean and nicely decorated. We have made many trips to this location and will go again.
My wife and I spent six days/nights. We didn't experience any problems. The room was spacious, clean, well maintained, but needed a refrigerator. The bed was very comfortable. The staff was friendly and efficient. The breakfast was very good and had a nice variety of items to choose from (waffles, cereal, pastries, eggs, bacon, sausage, juice, coffee, muffins.) The pool area was inviting, not humid and was used by our nephews who enjoyed it. The fitness center was small, but had enough equipment. Overall, a good value and good location.
BW has the best beds! Don't let the neighborhood of the BW Bridgeview Hotel in Superior scare you. It's just fine, just an older neighborhood. The staff are very friendly and our room was very clean. For great comfort, reasonably priced, stay here!
If you need a hotel to stay, Best Western, during Grandma's Marathon weekend provided excellent service. Staff was friendly and prepared to help all the runners and their families. Breakfast was suitable for runners too: hard boiled eggs, scrambled eggs, English muffins, peanut butter, and banana's and granola bars everywhere!!!!
the location was great it was beside the lake and easy to get to anything u needed to get the room was nice and beds well lets just say I didn't want to get out if it and it was close th where I had to be at for work
We had only one night here on our road trip. The rooms are clean and updated. We had a room right beside the indoor pool, which was fine. We didn't swim, but there were a lot of folks in that area. We were grateful that they closed the area at 10:00, so we could sleep. If you want a quieter area, get away from the pool. The breakfast was what we expected and the. We were on the road again.
I enjoyed the hotel. The best part was that going into Duluth via I-535 from the hotel, you always get a breath taking view of the harbor/Canal Park area. The free breakfast was great and one of the fastest internet in a hotel that I experienced.
Great stay as always,Good food,.clean rooms. Excellent staff they go out of there way to make your stay pleasent .,close to Duluth, restaurants shopping mall . winter time christmas lighting close to the ships and harbor
Stayed the weekend of the 17th and 18th of May, have stayed here in the past, renovated nicely, staff very helpful and friendly, good breakfast , short walk to downtown Superior, plenty of local taverns and nightlife nearby. Located right at the base of the High Bridge in Wisconsin and a short commute to Duluth . Plenty of tourist attractions in both cities. Road motorcycle up the north Shore of Lake Superior in Minnesota and the south Shore in Wisconsin
If you want sleep......don't let them book you into the pool area as the kids, especially on a long weekend, scream until 11:00pm They are doing renovations so we will give them another chance. The internet didn't work the next morning (which wasn't the poor manager's fault) but we wanted to get on the road early and breakfast isn't served on Sunday morning until 7am.....will have to give them another chance next time as the staff was extremely kind and felt very bad that things just weren't working.
Convenient location great value has all required amenities. Best of all with BestWestern points got a free nights stay. Highly recommend BestWestern for their consistency making them our 1st choice when travelling.
We have been staying at the Bridgeview Hotel in Superior over the past 30 years. We have seen the improvements over those years and will continue to go back. We now have 2 pet dogs and the hotel accommodates us whenever we need to travel with our pet. Pricing is very reasonable.
Another great stay at the Bridgeview, I cant even remember how many times we have stayed here! The breakfast and cocktail hour are great,Tina does a fabulous job with that! Nice to see Jordy still there too! Was sorry to see that Doug was gone, he was always so busy and on top of everything. Lots of renovations and upgrading of rooms going on.
Another great girls trip to the Bridgeview, have lost count as to how many times we have been there--it is over a period of 30 plus years. Enjoyed it as usual, a lot of updates being done, the staff was coping very well with the mess during the construction. The rooms look great with the remodelling. Always have looked forward to seeing our friends there Tina, Jordi and Doug, but this time Doug was no longer there and missed him big time. Tina looks after the breakfasts which are very plentiful and also the cocktail hour, she does a tremendous job of keeping it so well supplied. Thanks Tina and look forward to our next trip.
Great hotel! Pool area is really nice. Breakfast is enormous and has numerous options for everyone. Tina is amazing and is always friendly and helpful. Cocktail hour with free drinks and snacks is a nice evening snack. Rooms look nice and are clean, but leave a bit to be desired functionally (difficult toilets and noisy mini fridge). Overall, really a nice place to stay.
First of all, this hotel has seen some years pass by before it. BUT they are doing what they can to update and become more modern. When we stayed, the whole pool area rooms were being updated and renovated. The price and staff really made up for a little bit of dust and construction. The staff were super friendly and talked to us like they were old friends. The breakfast was great, huge selection full of premium options like waffles, eggs, sausage, cereal, fruit, etc. The room that we stayed in was clean and nicely updated. We really liked the nautical theme throughout the place. Yes, it was a little dated and kitschy but it fits well within this shipping harbor city. It is also nice that this place is right off of the bridge that connects Duluth and Superior so you can get anywhere in the Duluth area quickly and effectively.
We have stayed at the Bridgeview in Superior several times when we visit our family. The staff is always pleasant and helpful, the rooms are very clean and the all around appearance and look of the hotel is awesome. They have remodeled to keep things up to date and the pool area is great for kids.
This particular Best Western has seen too many years. Our room was very run down. The sink counter top was right next to the "closet" which made that space too small. The toilet and shower room was so tiny it was hard for a larger adult to get in to shut the door and the tile was a cracked mess. There was construction in the pool area which we were not told of when we booked the room. Our children did not want to swim there so that was a complete waste.
I like this hotel. Very convenient location, clean, updated and comfortable. Management works hard keeping this property fresh and updated and it really makes all the difference to me. Friendly staff. Clean, spacious room, very comfortable beds, mini fridge, iron, good in room coffee, soft towels. The fitness room just off the indoor pool area is above average. Weights, 3 aerobic machines, tv, towels, water. I didn't get a chance to try the breakfast but the 24 hour complimentary coffee/tea in the lobby was very good. Some of the rooms have a walk out to the indoor pool/hot tub area so if you have kids you may want to try for one of these. I saw three spaces in the back lot for camper/RV parking. You will enjoy your stay here. To management, you are really doing a nice job keeping this older property fresh and updated, recent renovations look great.
The rooms have been renovated and some renos still taking place. Our room was very comfortable and staff was terrific. The pillows were terrible (can not express enough how horrible the pillows were.) The complimentary breakfast was a terrible as well. The staff lady at breakfast was great and presentation was great food choices and flavour was terrible.
clean and friendly, will be really good after renovations are completed. Breakfast was good and had lots of choices. Pool areas was large and water was warm for kids. Rooms were spacious and comfortable. The bathroom in my room was very very tiny and the water from bath dripped, but I am guessing that these things are still part of the renovations
The Best Western Bridgeview is a great place to stay, especially for families. It is very clean and the manager and staff are very friendly and helpful. It is also easy to get to most places in Superior and Duluth because of it's location. we have been staying there for about 40 years and we consider it our "Home away from Home".
excellent place to stay Great Staff and employees good location good food clean comfortable I would recommend this hotel to anyone to stay there at any time. I would like to know where this survey goes and what the outcome is..does the hotel get any special recommendations through this survey.
Stayed for 3 nights,1st week of February. Was in a new ,refurbished room,non-poolside,was very nice.I requested a certain area when I made my reservation& it was waiting for me when I arrived. Doug, the manager, was very professional&pleasant.I met Tina&Tammy in the breakfast area & they were very nice. Good selection for breakfast. Enjoyed the cocktail hour! Pool area was very clean, water temp. was great. I had a non-poolside room, being I have no children with me ,it was nice&quiet. Will certainly be back for my summer vacations.Good location for visiting friends in Superior,&going over to Duluth.
The rooms are very nice, always clean and quiet and the staff is very friendly and always helpful. Tina in the dining area is particularly friendly and helpful. We always stay here when we come down to the area. Beautiful pool and hot tub. Very relaxing.
The Best Western Bridgeview Hotel is my go to place to stay while visiting Duluth/Superior. I love the location, so close to shopping and restaurants. The staff are so friendly and Doug the Manager is great! I travel with my Shih Tzu and this hotel is pet friendly, which gives it a big thumbs up! There is a continental breakfast served every morning in a room by the pool. Lots of variety of foods, and you can dine in the little breakfast area, by the pool or take it to your room with you. The rooms are spacious and the beds are comfy. There is free wifi and cable channels. The Housekeeping staff are so friendly, with always a good morning or hello. The rooms also have a fridge and a coffee maker, which I like so I can make my tea in the mornings. The pool area does tend to get a little loud, so if you want quiet, I would suggest a room farther away. The Hammond steak house and bar/liquor store are across the street, as is the Calumet gas station. Great steak and lobster at the Hammond restaurant, and the fried chicken at the Calumet (formerly the Spur) is some of the best I've had. I know many people from my home town who always stay at the Bridegview when they are in Duluth/Superior. A nice little drive over the John A Blatnik bridge.
just returned from a night at the Bridgeview and as always it was great. Doug, the manager is great, so very professional, friendly, and remembers his guests!!! Tina at the breakfast bar knows how to runs things. She is so very friendly and a great hostess! the hotel, staff, pool, breakfast, all just great!!! looking forward to our next visit in April
hotel was very clean and great for families. nice pool and hot tub area and hot breakfast was terrific. hotel is under construction and we are looking forward to upgraded rooms next year. the only drawback is when the pool area is closed for the evening there is limited space where groups can sit and socialize after
Just stayed here (again) with my mother and sister. Another wonderful stay, with SUPERIOR staff and excellent service. Particularly want to give a shout out to Tina, who is always pleasant and helpful at the evening cocktail events, and morning breakfasts. Manager Doug is the best to be found; he ensure the hotel runs smoothly and efficiently, and is always available to his guests to see to their maximum comfort. Well done, and we will be back.
I have been staying at this hotel for the past 5 years and have never had better service no matter where the location, or how much I paid for the room! The entire staff is friendly, professional, and helpful. The breakfast is amazing with hot and cold food options, and a spacious and clean dining area.
This is the noisiest place we have ever stayed! Design is bad. All the rooms go around the pool area and it is sooo noisy all day long! A great place for kids but we won't go there again for a quiet vacation...
We stayed 2 nights and came with our dog. Finding a pet friendly hotel is always a plus. The hotel and pool area was pretty nice, kind of echo-y, but it didn't bother is too much and the beds were comfortable. The morning after our first night here, my husband took our dog out for bathroom and found someone in his truck, pretending to have been out there to put valentines in the truck. My huaband pulled him out and asked him what he was doing in the truck. He was on drugs, he said he felt like he was living in a soap opera and then freaked out saying why wouls he put valentines in the truck, he didn't even know us. We ended up calling the police and provided plates and description. Cops said the whole city is terrible with petty crime because of the junkies. Hotel refunded us the first night stay and they were helpful with the situation. If we didn't have to deal with the police, it would have definitely been a better rating.
Had to attend a funeral for a relative and didn't have time to make arrangements to have someone take care of my dog for the one night I needed to be gone. Was nice to find a place that could accommodate my dog for this this trip. They were very flexible too about check-out time - the service was at 11, followed by the trip to the cemetery and then lunch at the church. The hotel allowed me to have late check-out at 2pm without charging extra - that was greatly appreciated. This is an older hotel. It's clean and well kept. The bathroom areas are little small, but serviceable. There's a very nice self-serve breakfast provided in the morning.
We were traveling for "pool championship" to Duluth and our group booked this hotel at the group rate. Group discount wasn't that great, and didn't make big difference. But I did my research and found that this hotel is not that bad for money in the area. It doesn't look very appealing from outside, but clean and cozy inside. Room was clean, we had mini fridge and microwave in the room, which was nice. Free breakfast was not bad for place of this caliber. Staff was friendly. I don't mind staying there again.
my husband and i stay here everytime we are in Superior. Great rooms very clean and updated. the pool/atrium area cannot be beat. very friendly staff and a top of the line free hot and cold breakfast every morning.
We have stayed at a similar style Best Western before--that's why we booked it. But what we wanted was a quiet weekend getaway and what we got was a long, super loud party of 20 + children who spent hours in the pool and hot tub. The noise was so loud, it gave me a headache. There was no space for adults. We paid so much money for a poolside room but feel like we should get a refund or a discount. Right now I am wondering will they EVER leave!!
The Bridgeview is an older motel that has a nice, updated appearance outside and a clean and maintained appearance on the inside. Room was warm and comfortable. No great decor, but refridge, microwave and coffee pot all worked. Bed was comfortable, and recreation area was nice.
Pleasant, bright, clean. Great pool area and work-out room. The staff will go out of their way for you. Breakfast : huge variety with good protein in abundance. This Best Western was built for multi-purposes. Can do Weddings, business meetings and family gatherings.
We had an awesome night at the pool playing football and volleyball with other guests that were staying, we celebrated our New Years on the 30th due to me working on the 31st. The hotel was understanding about all the kids we invited for the party. I would definetly recommend this hotel to anyone coming to stay in Superior WI.
This is a nice hotel. Parking was plentiful, room was clean and adequately stocked. I'm not sure why the entire building smelled like chlorine but it was a bit too much on my schnoz. In the morning, by about 6 am, the chlorine was overpowered by the aroma of coffee. We were on the second floor at the opposite end of the breakfast area room 219. Are they trying to get everyone up and at'em? We might stay here again if I have a sinus problem I'm trying to get rid of.
Perfect for the family! Easily located and convenient to all major interstates! We have stayed there many times. the staff is all extremely accommodating and the rooms have been recently updated to make for a very nice stay! Breakfast is also a huge plus for the budgeting family!
although this hotel appears to be an older property, it was well maintained with friendly helpful staff. We chose it mainly because it was pet friendly, but were pleasantly surprised at it's cleanliness and attention to detail. Excellent full breakfast offerings, not just the basic waffles and col hard boiled eggs. Will definitely stay again!
we stay here often love the pool area and the happy hour is wonderful, the nice lady who runs the happy hour is so sweet we enjoy vistng with her...we will be back. The hotel was so clean and nicely renovated..bring some friends the pool area is great place for a pary
An EXCELLENT place to stay, Friendly staff, well maintained property, a good location. When I travel in the Superior Wis / Duluth Mn area for work or pleasure this is the only place I will stay. It is an EXCELLENT value for the $$$. They have been redecorating for the past year and the old rooms were nice and well maintained. This time I had a newly redecorated room, VERY nice. The new Breakfast room (evening social gathering area) is large and convenient and nicely appointed. The pool/hot tub area has been "spiffed up" (not that it needed it). Being at the Eastern terminus of the Harbor Bridge with easy exit / entrance getting into downtown Duluth or to any of the local attractions is quick and easy. This is the only place I will stay when I'm in the Twin Ports area.
I've been staying here for a few years on business and I wouldn't consider staying anywhere else. The staff is always friendly and will go out of their way to provide service. The hot breakfast is outstanding and they have a Happy Hour with snacks between Labor Day and Memorial Day. There is a pool, whirlpool and exercise room. Rooms are clean and there is Wifi service. There's sufficient parking and you're within walking distance or good restaurants. This is an older facility and they have spent money on remodeling. This is great value for the money.
We stay at this hotel a few times a year. The staff are great, prices never disappoint, clean, pool is warm so it makes it fun to take the kids swimming, breakfast is good. It's always been clean when we visit.
I do a lot of traveling with my husband for his job and this is by far the best hotel I've stayed at. Great rooms, friendly staff and just overall an amazing place to stay. During winter months they have drinks and snacks set up in the breakfast area for guests, free of charge. If you aren't okay with a little noise, then I would suggest requesting a room that isn't by the pool but being with our noisy toddler had no problem with it. We will always stay here when we are in the area. Such great hospitality here.
Not fit for man nor beast!! If you want unfriendly service and a LOUD night's sleep; Stay by all means. Front desk staff did not make attempts to control unruly guests, and did not address a concern that I expressed to attendants. Be forewarned- not a fit sleep unless you stay in the suites. Never again
This is a very family friendly hotel. We have enjoyed coming to Superior and to know that Best Western Bridgeview is a place we can count on to lay our heads down. We are always greeting with friendly smiles. Our rooms are always fresh and clean. Great service from all employees we have encountered. We try to stay here when we need a place in Superior.
We enjoyed the Best Western. One reason is they are Pet Friendly. We enjoyed the breakfasts. We enjoyed the services provided such as the pool and hot tub and exercise room.We appreciated the friendly help from the front desk and how quickly they responded to any questions or help we needed.. We certainly would stay at this Best Western again if we are in the area.
This hotel lives up to the city motto. Superior By Nature. Rooms are clean and staff very polite and approachable. We have stayed at other hotels when the Bridgeview has not been available, but as usual they not meet the standards set by the Bridgeview. Therefor we always come back to it
Haven't stayed at the Bridgeview Bestwestern since my boys hockey days which is about 25years ago at that time it was going downhill .Well I was thoroughly surprised this week the hotel was great.....clean..quiet...great customer service...the pool area hot tub were perfect after 2 long days of shopping...I would highly recommend this hotel. The women who worked the happy hour and the morning breakfast was excellent, friendly, efficient and most of all she made a conversation with everyone that walked into the hospitality area. She was amazing please pass on our thank you...We will definitely return....
We spent a long weekend at the Bridgeview Best Western in Superior, WI. We had a lovely time, the pool was very warm, the hot tub was also nice. The breakfast was great for the kids. They also are very dog friendly, although some guests clearly did not clean up after their pets. I highly recommend this hotel when traveling to Duluth and/or Superior for leisure.
I highly recommend this hotel. It was clean, quiet, had a good breakfast, and excellent friendly staff. There is also an inexpensive but tasty restaurant/bar that was on the TV show, "Dives and Diners," within easy walking distance. We will return to this hotel in the future when we visit Duluth.
We enjoyed our stay here. The hotel decor is based on ships and we loved it. It's older, but that's what we liked. The rooms were clean and very quiet. The breakfast was good with lots of variety. Nice, clean pool and hot tub area too. We would definitely stay here again. The hotel staff was very nice.
Best Westerns hotel are old and in need of updating. I would not recommend them to your average business traveler. If you want comfortable room to relax in Best Westerns are not them. They are usually old and not setup for the business traveler.
the best western bridge view in superior wi is a very nice hotel we were very pleased with our stay lots of choices for breakfast and the employees are very pleasant for all the amenities the value is excellent also pool is very clean
I left my meeting early because I wasn't feeling well. I got to the motel before my room was ready. The managers there quickly gave me a different room without charging me any extra fees. I was very pleased with their professionalism and caring.
This Motor Inn does an adequate job of providing the basics needed for an overnight stay. Our rooms were clean, although the decor was a bit gloomy. The air conditioning and mini fridge were noisy; we turned them off overnight. The buffet breakfast provided was of average standard only.
This hotel sits nearly at the end of the bridge crossing over the St. Louis Bay from Duluth and is a decent option if accommodations are not to be found in MN. It is an older property but appeared to be updated and maintained. Not in the best part of town but I felt safe within the confines of the hotel. Lots of nautical themed decor in the public spaces including a large model of the fated Edmund Fitzgerald in the pool area. I liked that the pool was open late so I go for a swim. I enjoyed the free breakfast which included a decent size assortment of foods including belgium waffles, eggs, and bacon. I think there was some biscuits and gravy too. Slept well and enjoyed our stay with our 1 year old. Good value.
The room was nice, but very expensive. The hot tub jets shot up toward the surface instead of across the pool, and did not seem to be adjustable for angle, so my hair got soaked. The key cards did not work well, and by morning, they did not work at all. The desk clerk let me into the room but said that the lock needed to be cleaned and she did not have the proper tool to do the cleaning. When I was checking out, she made a joke of it, as if it shouldn't have been an issue.
First when I arrived I had to wait 10 minutes for the front desk person to finish getting prices for a person on the phone who wanted multiple options on dates, never once did he acknowledge me or tell me he would be with me soon. Then when he did start helping me he took my credit card and then someone else walked in and he started helping them before completing my check in. All the time while holding my credit card as he walked around the desk area. Once he got back to me I had to wait for him to call someone to find an available room. Check in was at 3, I arrived at 4:30 and he had no ideas what rooms were available. When I got to the room the beds were obviously not queen size, they measured 54" wide.... Then I called the front desk to ask and he laughed and told me that they were queen size and don't worry. I asked him to come to my room to look and he said he wouldn't. I asked to have the manager stop by to look at that and our broken faucet. Well needless to say, no response. Tow other calls to the front desk a couple hours later went unanswered. The floor was dirty and my white socks immediately turned black on the bottom, the carpet was ripped, the beds were small, the pillows were so small and like the mattress, not comfortable. The faucet in the sink was broken and loose and it took two hands to operate. The curtains were stained and obviously haven't been cleaned in a long time. The hot water took 10 minutes to heat up for the first shower in the morning. The room also smelled terrible of chlorine from the pool. In the morning I went for breakfast and people were walking around barefoot and in dirty pajama's, needless to say I didn't eat there. Overall it was the worst experience at a Best Western and I paid $175 for the pleasure of staying there for one night. At check out in the morning, the desk person asked how my stay was and I told her I had yet to speak to the manager as I had requested last evening. She told me that they did not have a way to contact him right now, so I left. If you read other reviews here, the manager will respond that they are going to train on it, but he obviously never addresses them.
Motor Inns and Motels occupy their own service niche and are something we wish to avoid, We had to stay in Duluth and the whole city was booked solid. So we looked to the neighboring city, Superior, and it was completely booked also. Then, an opening popped up online for one room at Bridgeview Motor Inn and I reluctantly secured it. The room was very clean, the bed was pristine with pure white linens, the staff was very friendly and helpful, and we were pleasantly pleased. That said, stay away from the poolside rooms. They are very small, noisy, and smell of humidity and pool chemicals. That's what we were given to begin with and the desk staff was very kind and worked hard, given their fully booked house, to get us into a different room far away from the pool. It was a much nicer room and greatly appreciated.
The hotel is a little difficult to get to, but there are good signs leading the way. it is partiaaly handicapped friendly. The areas that I felt were not handicapped friendly are the business center which is up a few staire and the breakfast area that is down some stairs. There did appear to be some rroms that would have access to the breakfast area. The breakfast was very good. There were eggs, bacon, oatmeal, yogurt, fruit, waffles, pastries, juice and coffee.
Friendly staff, good rates, comfortable for our employees who stay. They always ask that we book them at the Best Western Bridgeview Motor Inn Superior Wisconsin when we are working in that area. The staff at the front desk have gotten to know us and give personalized service.
excellent staff and a super manager that is always working for clients...overall very satisfied with staff, cleanliness and location with lots of parking and nearby amenities.a pleasure to stay there anytime.
Our room was clean and the bed was comfortable. We had a room with a kitchenette and a bedroom set separately from the living area which was wonderful. The breakfast in the morning was okay, had many items to choose from some better than others. If you are someone to go to bed early ask for a room that doesn't overlook the pool as it was pretty loud at night until about 10 pm when it closed. Didn't bother us any as my kid slept through it but some might not.
This hotel was a great alternative, located in Superior Wisconsin, just across the bridge from Duluth, Minnesota, where hotels are quite expensive. My business trip was actually in Duluth, but, since there is difficult to find a hotel for an affordable price over there, I found this gem in Wisconsin, just minutes away from my destination.
