Best Western Shippensburg Hotel

Just one concern, and by no means would it prevent us from staying here, but come prepared. The pool and breakfast was the BEST! And we are so thankful we could bring our Chihuahua! The doggie bag station was long unattended (trash build up on the grounds, bags not available) during length of our entire stay. Pet owners, there is a Walmart nearby to buy bags, unfortunately there was a lot of poo, and general trash blowing around, so please be careful. Please don't let your dog "sniff" and catch something, get sick, like Giardia. I'm sure if there were bags available, people would have been better about cleaning up after their pets.

After holiday swim family trip where 3 families traveled 2 to 2.5 hours to meet at your facility to celebrate a holiday memory with grandparents and grandkids to create memories and lots of laughs before bad weather happens.Casino,Marshall's, Dunkin and Aldi trips too!!!

After my eyes started to cross, the coupon guide book enticed me to this location. Excellent price for all of the inclusions, but every single front desk clerk was friendly, alert, helpful and kind. I only caught Debbie's name, but I met three clerks. All three are what we hope to meet after a long drive but rarely do: authentic, warm, customer service. This is my new travel stop in this region. So far, it ties with an expensive place for “best of” in my drives that way, so please expect to see more of me in the future. And thank you for exceeding all travel accommodation expectations

location out of town and difficult to enter the hotel staff was courteous and caring but there was difficulty using my vouchers. the breakfast was good and the room was quiet. the front desk had to show us how to use the heater but afterwards the room was warm.

Convenient location. The food was good. The bed was comfortable and the room was very clean. Nice place to stay. The staff was friendly. If you are traveling this way, it would be a good place to stop.

I had reserved almost the biggest suite and it was over priced but I did it for my birthday so it was ok but when I got there The jacuzzi was dirty and one of the lights wouldn't work so I reported it and when I got back it was fixed but the television wouldn't work and kept turning off and on but it was too late to call down. When I went to wash my hands there was no hand towel So I had to use the ONLY washcloth they gave me and luckily I had my own I brought or I would have been screwed the next morning. We were only given two bath towels as well. Even after all that I was going to let it go but after requesting late check out at check-in and being told yes I got a phone call at 10:30 in the morning telling me I had to be out by 11:00 or I'd have to pay for another day! And when I tried to tell her about the late check-in, she argued with me until the gentleman finally said it was okay even though he had said it was okay before! So I would never go back honestly I would like my money back. Happy birthday to me.

If you've been on the road driving through a tropical storm and need to find a place before it's dark, as we were, and this is the only place available, then this is your hotel. Bathroom was terrible - ring around the tub, public hairs in the bathtub, large patches of mold and mildew on the ceiling, plaster falling on the floor, black bugs crawling around on the floor. Very dusty glass shelf. The bathrooom appeared, literally, to be falling apart to the point where we used it minimally. TV did not work. Very sharp entrance to driveway. Bedsheets, fortunately, were clean. This was by far the worst best western we have ever stayed at, and one of our worst hotel stays anywhere.

Price was very fair for a night's stay. There is an indoor pool just off the lobby and visible by anyone at the front desk. Room was simple and had everything we needed. Bathroom was very, very tiny. It was the kind of bathroom you could not fall down in because there would not be enough room. Everything at the hotel was clean and staff was willing to help with whatever was needed. Breakfast was minimal. I liked that it was a small hotel.

We found this hotel to be awesome . Great breakfast, Pleasant staff, very comfortable and awesome facilities, unfortunately we were too tired to take advantage of. We will definitely plan to stay there on our next trip North!

I recently stayed at the Best Western Shippensburg with a group of friends while attending “ Corvettes at Carlisle “ . We found the hotel to be clean and maintained, the staff was friendly, and the location was convenient to interstate 81. I would stay there again

The staff here is genuinely friendly and in my opinion goes beyond expectations to make sure your stay is awesome. Also the pool/ hot tub area is one of the best we had in a long time. Spotless clean and perfect tempatures

Hotel was clean. Rooms were clean. the check-in attendant was polite and courtious. We had no issues at this hotel. They had a hot breakfast with plenty of tables to eat. The ktichen persion Pat was very kind and polite.

Very nice staff, BEST breakfast yet. I have celiac and can not eat gluten. Mr Tim made sure we were plenty taken care of. Everything from gluten free chocolate muffins, yogurt, eggs and a meat protein, cereal… there was a gluten free option. Also, we were treated very nice with my son's Service Dog and we brought a kennel for our pet / hunting dog. Pool was open and stocked and clean. Nice little 24 hour pantry. Mr Tim at breakfast gave us wonderful recommendations and information and conversation. We truly enjoyed our stay and will be back. So much to do and never enough time.

There was nothing “best” about this place! It was awful and dirty. The carpet in the halls and stairs had trash on them and the bathroom floor in the room was just as dirty! There was at nothing worth eating at the free breakfast even the apples were too old and mushy to eat.

Rooms had dirty floors, phone did not work, TV controller non-functional, curtains would not close exposing outside. Attendant gave me another room. Things were somewhat better but floors were very dirty. I would never walk barefoot in this room. The motel is a nonsmoking hotel but half way through the night I smelled cigarette smoke. I walked down the hall and it was filled with cigarette smoke smell. I told the front desk and he just ignored me. I told him again and he just said OH! I will never stay here again!

RUN don't walk away from this nasty and poorly managed and run down "hotel"! Dogs barking, people screaming at each other, kids jumping up and down on the ceiling above with no intervention from management after several request not to mention the really nasty carpets everywhere. This place should not have the name Best anything in it. More like WORST Western...............thank goodness we where there only one night!!!!!!

Had several issues with this hotel ranging from cleanliness to inoperable items. The best part of our experience here was breakfast every morning. Pat and Tim who ran the breakfast buffet were excellent. The breakfast nook was well maintained, super clean, well stocked and Tim and Pat were a joy to engage with.

These pictures speak for themselves. You would never expect to be put in a hotel room that you paid for just to find dead bugs sharing the room with you. I just want other people considering this hotel to see this. Really gross.

I arrived at the hotel at midnight with a reservation after a 10 hour drive from Chattanooga. I was told there were no pet friendly rooms left and was sent away to fend for myself. The hotel is advertised as pet friendly both on the corporate site and the local hotel page. The way I was treated is disgraceful. This hotel does not deserve to be in business and the night attendant should be summarily dismissed.

room was filthy. smell like smoke. 1/2 the lights didn't work. not enough towels for 2 people in the room. no tissue in the box. bed was horrible. glass on the sidewalk and in the flower bed from someone running over the curb into the side entry door. THE worst room we have ever stayed in !!!

I stayed for three nights in August 2022 for a business trip. The hotel is generally very good, very nice and friendly staff. But, light switch near room door as well alarm clock didn't, two burnt light bulbs. Good location. The price was reasonable

Al in all was a great stay. TV remote did not work. Pool was great and clean . we also use the Sauna and worked good. Breakfast was not the best but the staff was very friendly and helpful. Was a bit noisy at Night.

Beds were awful, microwave didn't work, door handle kept falling off, tolient kept backing up, they gave us a plunger. Hotel is not worth what they are charging. Coffee was out of a machine. Awful taste. Wallpaper falling off walls

The following two staff members have shown superior customer-service skills and should be immediately promoted to a shared position of General Manager at Best Western Shippensburg. They are Jason Lattin and Ashley Foster. The girl on the afternoon shift (Anne) probably needs additional training with regard to hotel upgrades (policy and procedure) and treatment of potentially homeless persons. These people should be treated with dignity and respect. The decoy that was sent in as a test, was not treated in that manner. In addition, we were embarrassed to see that the hotel evidently allows the female staff to fraternize with the construction-worker guests. We were informed that this behavior was previously reported to the Current hotel manager and that nothing has been done to put this to an immediate end. It may be necessary that the hotel needs another round of staff replacements. Some of these employees are really trying to do their job but there appears to be a very Toxic work environment.

Staff was very friendly. I will stay here every time I'm in the area. Very close to 81 and close to everything in town. This is my second stay there and I will stay there again when I'm in the area again.

The front desk attendant, Anne, greeted me with a huge welcome and went WAY above and beyond to accommodate me. She was incredibly empathetic to my exhaustive day of travel and did everything within her power to help me out. BUT The room was dirty and smelled bad. The carpet is stained, the microwave had not been cleaned. There was old food left in the fridge. The toilet is beyond DISGUSTING...bathtub is stained and dirty. The furniture was dirty and beds felt like the mattresses were 30 years old. Glad I had Lysol spray and wipes with me. My sister and I had to wipe down the room to feel semi-comfortable. Don't look in the AC unit vents--you'll be sick. They are beyond filthy. We left the air off for the night--didn't want to breath it in. Obviously desperate for a place to stay or we would have left!

The beds were awful. They were lumpy. My sheet was torn. The AC was noisy and you hear a lot from the next room. I have stayed here almost every year and am now afraid I will have to look elsewhere next time

A after a great deal of walking each day at the car show, appreciated the hot tub. Many nearby restaurants to choose from with no wait lines (fast food to fine dining). Quite & clean hotel with excellent staff members.

Great place to stay for business traveler. Friendly staff, great service, good hot breakfast and nice pool area. Clean and comfortable. Definitely worth signing up for rewards program. Both myself and my husband were pleasantly surprised by our BW stay.

good place, better than many. Nice architecture, room decor and furnishings. Although there were no elevators, which would have been better, we travelled light, and one well made stairflight did not bother us, since the Suites were on the second floor only, but they had balconies that overlooked the pool. This is a good place to stay for a short trip.

We were very disappointed in this best western. We stay at them often and this was not up to best western standards. Our check-in clerk was extremely nice and helpful however when we walked in the room we could tell just the way the beds were made that we were very disappointed. The icing on the cake was when we went to use the sink and it wouldn't drain. We actually left the hotel and found another

Excellent location right off I-81. Hotel and room were standard; clean, nicely furnished, and properly made up. Good breakfast. Beds were OK. Service was extremely helpful, and value was excellent, even for a relatively small town.

This place is so dirty. I had them clean my room twice and ended getting cleaning supplies and did it myself. I wish I could post the pictures I took. The staff was very nice. I will never stay here again. I suggest you don't unless you like filth. Walls covered with crap from where garbage buckets are placed.

The young lady at the front desk was helpful and upbeat. The lady at the breakfast area was wonderful. Both of these employees are assets to this company. My room was clean. One downside, unlike my previous visits, the hall and stairwell needed to be vacuumed better. This may have been the result of a shortage of staff. Everything that mattered, was fine.

I would not recommend this hotel. Not as advertised on the website. I would spend a few more dollars and stay somewhere else. No hot breakfast or breakfast of any sort. Ice machine broken, only a single serve coffee maker in room. No vending machines, no discounts. Lighting over sink was terrible. Did not put fresh towels in room. Etc, etc.

I booked this hotel based on reviews. The property needs a major overhaul. I gave it 3 stars based on the staff. I had to rebook my room due to Hurricane Elsa. The staff was extremely helpful and was very accommodating and very nice when I checked in. The rooms were outdated and very shabby and not well cleaned. At one point I had to go the front desk because the guide for the TV Channels had food stuck to it. Floors were not cleaned. Beware that the restaurants are not across the street from the hotel as stated you have to drive down the road and there are only fast food restaurants, no dine in. Breakfast not good either. I went down at 6:58am and due to Covid they offered a "boxed breakfast." The only choice was cereal or a breakfast burrito which I declined.

Everything was average. That means acceptable and I would stay there again. No coffee in the room but I think that was a covid thing. Breakfast came in a box and really - not bad. Manager was efficient but didn't offer any extras.

Open the door to our room and it smelled like a dead animal I checked the restroom there was hair in the shower it was dirty my husband picked up the toilet seat it with toilet paper of course and it was disgusting with hair and blood on the seat.he wanted to check out but I was to tired to find another hotel the front desk staff moved us to another room that was okay but it smelled bad.probably the carpet since it looked like it came from a horror movie. So we definitely kept our shoes on! So I'll Put it this way I Wouldn't even let my Ex stay there...they need a lot of updating..

The room hadn't been cleaned for quite some time. It was very dusty and there were "liquid" streaks on the headboard. The refrigerator had food residue in it. We didn't arrive until about 11:30 so it was too late to change hotels. We always stay at Best Westerns but this was the worst experience we have ever had. We won't stay at this one again.

Room smelled, shower pressure was awful, staff was not friendly, express check in/out didn't work. Says free breakfast but didn't get it. Only. 2 towels in room with 3 guests, had to wait a long time to check out.

We have stayed 2 times in past 4 months, we have family really close. But the exit door has been broken since the first stay. Apparently they had the same issue with other doors, because they just removed the locks from the one on the other side of building. I'm sorry when people are paying over$130 a night you can afford to fix the locks to keep people safe at night from random people just strolling in off the highway! This last time housekeeping never cleaned coffee pot from last person to use, old coffee grounds left behind. kind of gross because have no idea when was last used/ cleaned.

We always stop in the Chambersburg area when we travel to Virginia as it is about half way. We chose Shippensburg because the cost was less, but is not as nice as the one we usually stay in. We had a non-smoking room, but there was a strong cigarette smell when we opened the door. The carpet was stained and things just looked worn. It is not convenient to any restaurants, but not too far from 81.

The hotel is well run with friendly and co-operative staff. It is clean, well maintained and provides good internet service and well prepared boxed breakfast. We always plan to stay here as a convenient stop-off en route for South Carolina.

My family and I stayed due to a family funeral. Jacki and her staff were amazing and very accommodating. Even with covid-19 the pool, hot tub, and sauna we're all open. Also the grab-and-go breakfast was one of the best I've had during covid-19. They give you three selections to pick from and all have a great variety. The rooms were very accommodating and very spacious. If you are traveling through this area or visiting the university I highly recommend staying at this hotel. Low price but great quality.

My husband and I decided to take an impromptu couples night. We chose this location based on price, location, reviews and the fact that it had a spa tub in the room. We got there about an hour early. We thought we might have to wait, but it worked out that we could check in early. The front desk girl was friendly and informative and the lobby was cozy and clean. We loved our room. The king bed was soft and comfortable. There was a refrigerator and a microwave and a hair dryer. The spa tub was very large compared to other places we have stayed at and everything was nice and clean. We were very happy with our room. We also used the heated pool, sauna and hot tub by the lobby. Very relaxing...which was the whole purpose of our trip. (The sauna needs turned on awhile before using though FYI.) We got to choose a box breakfast the next morning. The choices were ok considering Covid has everything different. They had 3 choices of a sausage muffin, a sausage and cheese burrito or oatmeal. Each meal came with chocolate milk, a muffin or granola bar, nutrigrain bar, yogurt and an orange. There was good coffee in the lobby area as well. After breakfast we checked out and that was fast also. Overall we were extremely satisfied and will come here again if we want another get away.

The room was not nice. The drain had black/brown mold all around it and it was not cleaned adequately. The service was horrible. We stayed for 6 nights. Due to COVID they only clean the room once during the stay. We never got our room cleaned. Twice we asked for the sheets to be changed and each time it did not happen. The front desk was less then accommodating. The pool was nice, however the service, the room and the hotel itself was outdated, dirty and dingy. We will never be staying at a best western again.

Room was clean, quiet and a great value. Staff was friendly, responsive to questions and requests, and readily available. They are clearly doing all they can to deal with the Covid situation. Location just of I 81 was easy to get to, and dining options were within a short drive.

This was an absolute dump. I cannot believe how awful it was. This is one of the worst Best Westerns I have ever stayed in. The room was filthy. Dust on everything. Stains on lamp shades. Black stuff coming out of ac as we slept, ac covered with black specks in the morning. Tub had hair in it. Room spelled old, dirty and musty. Garbage under nightstand and around toilet. Crumbs in one of the beds. Housekeeping banged on the door at 9:30 am and I had a late checkout for noon and I had just driven 13 hrs. AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS. I'm a diamond select member, I am the highest tier and that's the only reason we picked that specific motel and didn't stay somewhere else.

We were travelling home to Canada from the States during the COVID crisis. The staff were welcoming, helpful and followed all the appropriate guidelines for our safety. Despite the obvious stress of the situation the staff continued to smile and were professional throughout. Much appreciated.

Good location and wonderful facility. Spending the night here was very appealing, service received upon our arrival was very good. The desk clerk provided a list of local restaurants and identified the ones that delivered, GREAT JOB.

Overall the experience was very good however I would question the hotels decision to accommodate truckers since it makes for a very noisy breakfast room. The service was very good and we would stay at this hotel again.

Arrived early afternoon. No desk staff for about 15 minutes. A pleasant fellow did show up and apologize he was dealing with an issue with a TV in one of the rooms. Understandable, however a note would have been nice. We booked a Balcony Suite. We were quite dissatisfied. It was a balcony but overlooking the indoor pool. We had anticipated a outdoor balcony, perhaps I missed that. The real disappointment was the room and balcony had no chairs. The room had no desk. Just a single stool. The TV was awkward to figure out. The sink had a major leak. Best Western is our hotel of choice. We often pay a premium for suites and expect better. We mentioned the furniture situation to staff and were told that furniture has been on order since 2015! Breakfast was marginal and not hot. The hotel is clean, the staff very friendly. Ample free parking. The indoor pool is large and has a hot tub. The pool area is lined with aromatic cedar, very pleasant. We don't think that there is any nearby grocery or gas. There were no takeout menus in this room. However there are several pizza and other restaurants that deliver. I might stay again, but now I feel I should ask if the room is furnished when booking.

My daughter and I stayed here for one night in November 2019 as we had a visit scheduled to Shippensburg University for a college visit the following day. We found the hotel to be nice and it was quiet. All the units were on one floor. We had a room with two double beds, flat screem television, small microwave and small frigerator. There was also a business desk and lamp. The shower had great water pressure and it was an adjustable shower head. There is a sink outside the bathroom. The room also has an in room safe to store your valuables and an iron and ironing board. The hotel has an indoor swimming pool, ice machines for guests and guest coin operated laundry. The hotel is close to downtown Shippensburg and is near many restaurants as well as several shopping centers, a Walmart and CVS. The room was clean and comfortable. The beds were soft as well as the pillows. Guests are provided free wi-fi that requires a password. The hotel offers a free breakfast for guests starting at 6:30am. The breakfast was really good. There were four types of Kellogg's cereals including Apple Jacks, Frosted Flakes, Raisin Bran and Special K. The breakfast included the below items as well. Oatmeal packets, scrambled eggs, potatoes, bacon, biscuits and gravy, yogurt. hard boiled eggs bagels, toast, muffinds make your own waffles drinks include: hot chocolate packets, hot tea and coffee, cranberry juice, apple juice, orange juice and water

Older hotel. Good breakfast. Jacuzzi didn't have enough water in it. Sauna didn't work. Pool was nice. Fitness center doesn't open until 8:00 am which is useless for many quests as they often leave early. I asked if I could go in 9 minutes early and inexplicably was told no. Manager wasn't professionally dressed but was helpful. Good price. Best Western Rewards members are not acknowledged.

Rooms are small for the price and the bathroom sink is in the main room while the tub and toilet is in a very small separate room. Altough I know enough to reserve a room on the first floor, most people who don't know would probably opt for the second floor just to find when the arrive...THERE IS NO ELEVATOR!

Everything was fine. Nice new beds and very nice breakfast. Room was quiet and clean. Very easy to find off the Interstate. Many services in the immediate area. We are alway happy when a BW is convenient to our route.

Close to the highway, with friendly staff. Restaurants and services close by. Swimming pool, fitness center, sauna, Wi-Fi, and HBO. The rooms are clean and odor free. The beds and pillows are very comfortable.

Room smelled horrible. Smelled like they tried to cover up cigarette smoke. Bathroom floor had urine stains on it. Breakfast was terrible. Had to pay a higher rate because they was something going on in the town but the hotel only had 5 guests. Ridiculous

We travel each summer and this was the filthiest hotel we have ever come across. The carpet hadn't been vacuumed,sheets were filthy, the bathroom was disgusting. Hair in the tub, the toilet hadn't been flushed plus urine on the floor. When we drove around to go in the side door there was a party going on, directly in front of the door, by the residents?? that lived there. Scariest hotel ever. Best Western needs to investigate this property. We left and plan on filling a complaint.

Great place! Awesome breakfast, nice and hot, eggs, bacon, sausage, waffles... and the staff was very friendly. We were here only one night but we had zero problems! Room did not smell... I would recommend!

We pulled in after a long long drive and a friend made our reservation. It was a nice facility with nice staff. Got in too late to use the pool but it looked clean. Grounds were well kept. Room was nice and fairly comfy beds.

Hotel was a wonderful find. Staff was very professional. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Hotel security was working and wifi worked. Breakfast was fresh and hot. Indoor pool was a nice bonus with the outdoor griiing area

There is major renovation going on in some rooms. This doesn't interfere with sleep but the workers do have remodeling paraphernalia throughout the hallway. This wasn't a problem in any way. It was a problem that they broke glass in the parking spots next to a dumpster. I called the front desk and three days later the broken glass pieces were still covering the parking spaces. That is my only complaint. Otherwise the rooms were wonderful, the price is comparable to the amenities offered. The women overseeing the fantastic breakfast are hard working, quick to replenish and friendly. Even housekeeping was warm and inviting. Restaurants and shopping are less than a block away. Perfect destination for a couple to recharge.

When you check google it states there is a indoor swimming pool, sauna, steam room and hot tub. There is no steam room the sauna does exist but is nothing more then a storage cupboard and doesn't look like it's worked for years. The hot tub hasn't been working since I arrived and every time you ask the reception staff, they just say hopefully tommorow hopefully by the end of the week. So far that's 1 out of 4 facilities advertised that is working preety poor and expected more from a large chain.

I never stay at Best Westerns. I made a late reservation at this hotel and was really pleased. I would not hesitate to stay in this property again. The service was excellent and the rooms were clean. It even had an indoor pool!

The young woman (Jacki) checking us in was lovely, friendly, efficient and fun. Our room was clean, beautiful, and well-appointed. The indoor pool and spa were clean, complete with plenty of clean towels. Breakfast was a dream come true. We'll come back!!

We booked the last room available for two nights which was a handicap room. Several rooms were rented to construction workers who left noisily around 5:30 am each morning we were there. The shower had paint peeling off the surface and when we walked on the center of the shower it felt like we were going to fall through. After lifting up the mat which covered the drain and the broken shower floor we also found what appeared to be mold also. We paid above the normal charges for the room because of a large event that was in the area. On a good note the receptionist and other employees were very nice and the breakfast was good.

Staff was to busy gossiping with other staff member behind the desk to worry about ppl waiting to check in. Then the attitude was horrible when they did. very dingy and outdated. will not be returning.

For the cost this hotel exceeded our expectations. The staff were cordial and efficient. The room was clean and nicely decorated. As a Best Western rewards member I was given a lower pet fee. Overall an excellent value for the money.

Attending a local track meet. Needed a good night sleep for our early runner. Adjoining room had their TV loud enough that we could hear the conversation. Even the person when they laughed about something. Anticipated calling front desk but we turned on the air and that seemed to deaden the sound. We read online that the pool would not be open but when we arrived it was. After supper we went to use the pool and there were no towels in the pool area so we went back to the room to get a towel from the room. Cleaning carts were stored in the hallway which seemed strange. Staff was nice, we only had little contact with them. Breakfast was very good nice selection of food and staff person was keeping hot food replenished.

The property was not a bad place to stay. My biggest complaint is staff and many broken amenities. One staff member began to curse at a guest and a front desk staff member was extremely rude. I think I think that a major corporate event needs to happen at this facility to better train staff on customer relations.

While this is a 2 floor hotel there is not elevator to the 2nd floor. I have to walk with the aid of a walker so it was greatly appreciated our request due to a medical need was respected by when we reserved a note being made for this. We have arrived at some hotels (other Brands) and been told we are so sorry, but your request was not noted, and all 1st floor rooms are gone. The hotel is very clean, staff helpful and knowledgable.

Very clean,beds are comfortable.Staff is pleasant.Location convienant,right off interstate 81.Only complaint is that they charge extra for pets.Very nice area with multiple choices of places to eat.Would definitely recommend.

The facility is easy to get to and the price was reasonable. It's a pet friendly hotel which is a plus. The breakfast is awesome good variety. The place is an older hotel. The indoor seemed nice people were swimming when we arrived. Looked clean.

Stopped here late as it's just off the highway. We got a "suite" that overlooks the indoor pool. A "deal" at $99 . Noise comes right up from the pool and an area just outside. Room needed walls washed or painted. Hallways are somewhat tired with walls marked up. Breakfast area is small . Hot water dispenser didn't work as it said it needed cleaning. Ick! The positive was the employee who checked us in. Very professional in giving us information and a great recommendation for a place nearby for dinner. There's a Holiday Inn Express across the street that might be a better choice.

Chose this hotel for a stay to swim after my sons wrestling match nearby.We checked in and was able to swim and use hot tub -both warm but seemed to be high in chlorine. Rooms ok, breakfast good but boys were upset in morning to see the pool was not open. This was my first best western stay and probably my last despite joining rewards and the good rate.Staff were nice and the goodie bag at arrival for rewards members were a plus. We had planned on spending an hour swimming before leaving and the pool was not open and I was told it would not be opening. The boys had rashes on body last night so im guessing someone messed up pool chemicals. Overall ok but two disappointed little boys, with painful red rashes on their bodies.

November 15 2018 My In Laws were traveling from Fla. to NY to spend Thanksgiving with us and got caught up in the snow storm. The manager squeezed them in and went out of his way to help them. Coming from Fla. the had no snow brushes or anything and the next day he cleared the snow off the car for them ..Thank you Allen!

The hotel was clean. It was conveniently located right off Rt. 81. There was plenty of parking also. The breakfast was delicious. There was a variety of breakfast foods to choose from. The only problem was the bathroom. The shower curtain would not stay closed. It kept slipping down to the middle. The shower itself was outdated. My only issue would be that they would need to update bathrooms. Otherwise, I enjoyed my stay.

Run down, sauna being used for storage, pool not clean. Carpets in hallways had seen better days ten years ago.breakfast was okay compared to some places. Neither my wife or I would recommend this hotel.Entry Door.on side of building broken so anyone could enter the hotel day or night.

On our way home from Indian Beach, this hotel conveniently located right off the highway. Clean, comfortable rooms, very friendly front desk stafff, quick check and out. Would definitely stay here again next time we are going this way

This was a modern, clean, neat hotel. The staff were pleasant and accommodating. This hotel had a large, great indoor pool. The room was presentable but the bathroom was cramped and the toilet the old low kind. We had a flat tire and didn't notice it until night time. The staff was very helpful. We did have trouble with cell phone reception. I had to go outside and stand away from the hotel in order to be able to use my cell phone. The only negative of this hotel is the room bathroom was way too small.

Good visit from start to finish. Our receptionist Jackie was a gem, so helpful and cheerful. Our rooms were more than adequate and breakfast was plentiful and nicely arrayed.The pool area which we did not use looked very inviting. The coffee bar in the reception area was great.

We stayed here a couple nights while in the Gettysburg area. It looks like new from the outside, but it's an older establishment. The room was OK, but the bathroom seemed claustrophobic. Accommodations were average, including the breakfast. The price was average.

Room was very nice, was a little pricey, nice indoor pool and hot tub. Sauna was broke down. Breakfast was good, Breakfast was in the back of building instead of in the front by the lobby. I kinda liked that.

Great stay for the traveler, nice clean rooms. Kid friendly and lots of eats. Lots of towels and lots of parking. Staff friendly and helpful for your room. Would stay again, great hotel for the whim of a stay.

Was checked in with in mins off being there. I had a lot of stuff with me and they were even kind enough to help me get the cart back inside good place to stay. Friendly employees. Willingness of them to accommodate to the room I needed was excellent. Never met a staff like the ones here.

We stayed here for one night while touring by motorcycle to Tennessee. Staff was very friendly at check in and we had a room on backside right near door for ease of unloading and loading our gear on the bike. The rooms were very clean, and the grounds were very well kept. There is ample parking here for travelers with large trailers as well, and a newly paved parking lot. It's located on the outskirts of town so its very quiet at night, which is fantastic for sleeping. They did have a unique feature which I MUST mention. Inside the lobby there was a black storage locker that was labelled Harley Davidson Station. I had to ask...as you can see from the photos it is a motorcycle cleaning kit, complete with a hose, bucket, spray nozzle, rags, and detailing supplies. If you need to freshen up your ride it's all here! There are several dining choices nearby, and places to fuel up as well. I had a very pleasant conversation with the morning desk clerk when I checked out, and would highly recommend this hotel. If you are coming in from the interstate stop at a rest area and get a coupon!

Friday night of a long weekend - so the hotel was busy and cost was higher. Check in & out were quick & efficient, room was clean, new carpets throughout, bathroom area small and room amenities are older (e.g. decor, air conditioning, bathroom facilities) but acceptable. Hot breakfast, with lost of choices and well supplied. Although we did not use, the pool & hot tub looked very inviting, but we were too tired after a days drive.

This convenient location off I81 is very accommodating. It has easy access to rooms. It is clean and comfortable. Very good internet access, nice amenities especially great indoor pool. Breakfast enjoyable.

This hotel was certainly adequate - room had everything we needed. Nothing outstanding. Several minor debits: (1) Bathroom floor has some chipped areas. (2) Breakfast bar lacked some promised items. (3) Sink is part of room itself. Toilet and bath/shower separate. Not so good if more than one person staying in the room. (4) Wifi worked, but rather slow and once threw us off, had to reconnect.

The location of the hotel is great. Just off I 95. This hotel had a fabulous pool/hot tub area. During the reservation process, on Feb. 27/18, we requested, and were guaranteed, a ground floor room as we have some minor mobility issues. Upon arrival, we were told there were no 1st floor rooms left. We were given a 2nd floor room at the back of the hotel, and, as approaching the stairwell saw 2 people talking at the bottom of the stairwell. Despite the advertising of the hotel as a smoke free site, it was clear that they had been smoking in the stairwell. The room had a very small bathroom and no luggage rack. The bed headboard needed a serious cleaning. The bed clothes and room fixtures were far from meeting expectations. There was a cautionary note on the daily breakfast menu that to ensure that items were still available you should get there at least a half hour before the end of the stated breakfast period. When I broached these concerns with the manager he did reduce our statement charges by half. The manager did explain that the whole 1st floor was shut down as the quarterly pesticide cleaning was being done, but why did the desk attendant not explain this upon check-in? I would be hesitant about staying here when in the area again.

We come once a year for the Lalilowan Indian Festival, and Best Western was the host hotel this year for dancers, powwow committee, and staff. We were cordially greeted upon arrival, and check-in was a breeze. The room was perfect for our means, but we wish it had a queen or king sized bed instead of two doubles. The room was clean, well stocked with towels and washcloths, and was comfortable. Initially, I was concerned about the noise level because we were located near a stairwell, the business center, and one of the entry doors, but my fears were unfounded. There was no noise bleed through from the adjacent room, and there was not a lot of extra noise. The room was supplied with an iron that worked, and the ironing board had a clean cover and adequate padding, and ironing the dress for my regalia was a breeze. Did I mention the bed was comfortable? I slept like a rock, despite it being a double. the linens were clean, and we were able to adjust the room temp to a comfortable sleeping temperature. The mattress was very comfortable, and the pillows were perfect. I usually don't sleep well in hotel beds, but this was an exception. The pool was not available, but not a deal breaker for me. Possibly for a family with active kids, but I had the feeling that this was a temporary situation. The breakfast room was very nice, with hot and cold breakfast items, and the all-important waffle iron, and a good cereal selection. Plenty of seating in a pleasant, decently appointed room, with staff making sure that it was well supplied during meal hours. Overall, I could hope for a bigger bed, a little less age on the property, and a tad more bling in the room, but when you are staying for one night, it fit the bill very well. I hope this place will host us again next year.

Room was not very clean, internet was horrible. Tv remote would not work and staff only tried another one that didn't work. Breakfast was ok. Found beer caps on cabinet behind tv. Room is way over priced for what you get.

I have stayed in this BW about 30 times. Room 233 has a broken AC/heat comb unit. The desk chair leans to the right slightly. There were ketchup stains on the rug. Other that this, this BW is ok. I would recommend it. This has been my only unpleasant stay at tis location.

Pros: room was clean. The bed was very comfortable, water pressure was great, TV was nice and big, heat/air was quiet and adjusted the room temperature quickly. Jacuzzi tub was the best part of our stay! Perfect location--very close to everything we needed during our stay. Cons: Bed wasn't as tidy as you would expect when walking into a new room. There was hair on the bed sheets and pillows. Our toilet was clogged. My husband called the front desk and had to walk down to get a plunger and dislodge it himself because "maintenance is gone for the weekend." He was asked to return the plunger when he was finished with it. The shower was very noisy and the water went from hot to freezing several times during a 10 minute shower. Guests across the hall from us were very noisy.

Everyone was very nice and personable when we checked in that night. We had been driving all day, and were really exhausted. The manger made a point of giving us a room that was away from the stairway so that it would be extra quiet for us. I thought that was a very nice thing to do for us. He did it without me asking him.

Rooms are very small and cramped. Old linens. In real need of a remodel. No real seating outside the rooms. Had to do work in the pool area. Breakfast was good. Wouldn't stay here again as there are newer hotels in the area.

Stayed here one year ago and thought the room was nice. Boy, has this place gone downhill! Travelling through PA and chose this hotel again based on last years impression, but was very disappointed. We used a coupon from the PA Welcome Centre, and I guess we got a "coupon room". I questioned the front desk lady as to the difference between rooms when using a coupon and was assured that the rooms were all alike. The room we were assigned, 102, was noisy, the floor carpet was dirty and severely stained, as was the bed frame cover with God knows what. One can only imagine! The heater/AC unit was very noisy when it cut in. The bed blanket was the most uncomfortable I have ever encountered! I like using Best Western because their points do not expire, but I will never stay here again.

This hotel is well-situated, comfortable and reasonably priced. The breakfast starts at 5:30 a.m. which is very considerate since most travelers want to get an early start on the road. The pool and hot tub are nice too.

One night here with my pet the stayed one night while traveling from South Carolina to Boston. While not fancy theroom was quiet and clean and there was plenty of areas to walk my dog. It was very convenient to route 81

Very nice staff. Room was clean and had nice tv. Bathroom was clean and water controls were easy to use. Temperature of water and air were good. Easy check in and out. New self serve coffee maker in lobby. Breakfast was good. A good value for the area. Close to route 81.

This hotel isn't anything special, but is a very nice place to stay if you're looking for an affordable option. From what I found, it is the lowest priced hotel in Shippensburg, and is still very nice. It's clean and the pool/hot tub area are great. If you're going to be spending a ton of time in your hotel, I would suggest something nicer, but if you're mostly just going to be getting ready and sleeping in the hotel, this is a great option. We experienced some problems with the air and TV, but both of those problems were solved.

Staff friendly, room clean and bed and pillows comfortable which helped make up for the downsides. Shower head wall peeling, coffee pot with heavy lime deposit and there was No breakfast food available, only coffee.

The beds were comfortable. The price was decent. The complimentary breakfast was okay but seemed a bit limited. Our bathroom floor was pretty dirty so I laid down towels/bathmat, we were very tired and just wanted to get some sleep.

The rooms are outdated and smelled. it smelled like smoke but it was a non smoking room. The bathroom looked like it was from the 70's.The staff were extremely friendly and helpful especially the breakfast attendant. The food was very good too.

When we arrived (a little later than expected due to a hectic Friday and traffic) we were greeted by a very pleasant girl who informed us that her manager upgraded to executive suite. Not sure what we did to receive such a wonderful gesture but we gratefully accepted and enjoyed every bit of the beautiful spacious room with a balcony overlooking the pool and corner jacuzzi tub. Breakfast in the morning was very nice, hot eggs, sausage, bacon, waffles, fresh fruit and even granola bars to grab foe the road. This was a very nice hotel, clean and we appreciated the special treatment.

Clean rooms, nice complimentary breakfast, friendly staff all less than 2 miles from the college. Beds are super comfortable which come in handy after a long day of travel. Will be our hotel of choice when visiting our daughter at Shippensburg.

I went out of my way to stay here ive stayes here before they have an indoor pool excellent coffee ans hot and cold breakfast in the mornings.its close to I-81 walking distance ti walmart supercenter and a gas station/convenience store 10 minute drive to a beautiful downtown area of shippensburg with plebty of restaurants and other things.very close to lots of tourist attractions too.where the hotel sits is very quiet so youll get a peaceful nights sleep theyre all friendly its very very clean i highly reccomend this place and you can get AAA and AARP discounts

Our family stayed at Shippensburg not realizing how far we were from Gettysburg but it turned into a pleasant surprise. For the value our hotel had all the ammenties we required and were happy with the staff and service in Shippensburg.

Checked into our room and, although it is a non-smoking room, there was the smell of stale smoke...either that or a dank, musty smell. Couldn't decide which it was. Other than that, not a bad place. Relatively quiet, comfortable and a pleasant staff. Breakfast was OK, typical hotel fare. It's a toss up whether or not I would stay there again.

I have stayed here many times in the past. This property while easy on/off the highway, has a nice breakfast and comfortable rooms I feel has diminished. My last two visits here have been less than stellar and management has not reached out to me to address my complaints. Probably won't stay here again.

The staff were awesome and hotel was great. The staff goes above and beyond to ensure every guest has a memorable experience. I would definitely recommend this hotel if staying in the area whether it is a business trip or a leisure vacation.

Love Best Western hotels very clean and courteous staff. Pillows could be a better quality other than that everything was wonderful and we enjoyed our stay! The continental breakfast was great and the coffee was amazing. The cleanliness of the facility, pool and gym was impressive.

We stayed 4 nights in a king suite. Our room was clean and comfortable. The bed was great. We found the staff to be very friendly and helpful. The pool and hot tub were refreshing after a long day. Hot breakfast in the am was good. Breakfast included eggs, sausage, bacon and waffles. We would stay here again. Easy drive to Carlisle and Gettysburg.

The manager and staff here are top notch, very friendly,courteous, and helpful. The best I have ever seen. The amenities are all you could ask for. The breakfast room is the bomb. Pool, gym, whirl pool, laundry, fridge, microwave in the room. walking distance to a Rutters, Taco Bell and KFC, 24 hr restaurant in town.

Good service, and breakfast. If you want to sleep in find out where the staff begin to clean because the running of the vacuum will be disturbing. The location is close to I-81 for easy on/off access. A Wal-Mart is close.

Very nice, clean, modern rooms. The price was reasonable for the service. Didn't use the pool or hot tub, but it looked wonderful. Staff was professional and informative about the area. Very easy check in & out. I felt very comfortable stepping out side for a smoke during the night.

Taking a trip to Pittsburgh we stopped in Gettysburg, Pa. to see the battlefield but with rates so high in Chambersburg and Gettysburg we found this BW to be very reasonable. The rooms were nice and comfortable and clean. The breakfast was very good.

Would stay here again for an overnight stay encounter to Florida. Basically an average facility but clean and reasonably priced at About $89 with tax included and AAA discount. Breakfast area is at the opposite end of the bldg from check-in lobby. Suggest room in rear of facility if you hav e mobility concerns. Also recommend asking for 1st floor room as there is no elevator to 2nd floor.

This was our first stay at a best western. The breakfast was good. Pool and spa area was well maintained. The was even a grill outside if you wanted to grill. The rooms were nice and clean. It was quiet and placed back from the road. We will stay here again.

Basic Best Western hotel, clean and worth the visit. Very friendly staff at the front desk and at the free breakfast. Asked about a restaurant to eat at, was steered to a very nice pub called CJ's. I would stay here again. Small town feel with lots of amenities close by.

We came late due to a pet suddenly passing, Ty the desk manager could care less, said the only way for me to keep my room was to check me in while I was still at home regardless of the situation ... then when we got there I am disables with severe asthma and needed a non-smoking room and the room smelled of smoke so we left!!!

Place clean & staff very friendly. Wish it were closer to Gettysburg. Going through town very interesting but small. Breakfast was hot and the usual food for BW. Lady was very nice as we were late she kept area open.

Room was fine, comfortable bed. Nice pool although we did not use it. Very good breakfast in separate room with friendly staff. Very helpful front desk lady who recommended an excellent restaurant a mile down the road which had very good food and professional service. This is a university town but quite small. We went to the Aldi supermarket which has fantastic prices on basics to take home with us. Would stay again if traveling that way.

We arrived late at night without a reservation. We were warmly welcomed and immediately given a room with out any hassle. Our room was at the right temperature and e everything was clean and comfortable.

A very good hotel just off I-95 in Shippensburg, PA. This is an older building where access is from within corridors. There is no elevator. However rooms have been updated and very pleasant, clean and Quiet, There is a real hot breakfast available to include sausage, bacon, eggs and hot waffles. The price for an over night will fit most budgets and is a good value. it has a fitness room and pool. I rate this Hotel as very good and give it my recommendation. I would stay here again.

Breakfast was awesome, beds very comfortable. did not run out of hot water, restaurants close by as a walmart. If you plan on using the pool. be careful they let town residents use the pool for a fee, and they do not give consideration to guests that are staying at the hotel. If you have young kids I wouldn't suggest using the pool when they are there. very dangerous. my daughter got fell on yes in the water I told them to becarful and they told me I pay good money to use this pool how I want. and then they will use all the lobby coffee cups, and when you ask for more they will tell you, they cant give you any they need them for breakfast. So if you don't drink coffee/tea and don't want the pool then this is a great hotel for you.

Bedside stands had glass and bottle water stains and candy wrappers on floor. Beds were comfortable.Staff was nice.Grounds were impeccably kept. It had a nice big pool. Easy check in and out. Wireless Internet was spotty.

We travelled to Shippinsburg to see a collegiate sports event. This was an excellent hotel for the price. All the amenities were well kept. I had my dog with and he was quite welcome. The location of the hotel was perfect.

Should receive a refund! Both sheets on. Oth beds were not changed had hair and body fluids on them. Asked to be changed short story guys came back to my room completely stoned (ex Law Enforcement) so stoned had to help him change sheets. He states he was the assistant manager. His eyes were like slits and I could smell it on him. I felt uncomfortable kept my son on the phone. Bathroom had hair on the walls n dirt piled in the corner.

Traveling South, we stopped here. Staff was very helpful and courteous. Room was clean and comfortable. We checked in late so did not use any amenities except breakfast which was convenient and satisfactory.

Convenient location off of I-81. Clean updated room, in room coffee, mini fridge. The breakfast had several choices. The indoor pool area looks nice. We wish they had more queen beds as only full size were available. We would stay here again.

Well....let me say firstly, it was clean and comfortable and they had awesome amenities. The manager Het Gandhi was so amazing. I'm a Best Western Rewards member and I booked 2 rooms for Thanksgiving. IT WAS AMAZING!! I arrived early with our first guest. The room was ready. We arrived on Wednesday before Thanksgiving. Apparently, Wednesday is customer appreciation day, as there was soup, salad, breadsticks, beer and wine for free upon arrival. After the long drive, this was so awesome. Customer appreciation Wednesday happens EVERY week, not just holidays. The manager, Het Gandhi was a gift from heaven. he looked out for use every moment. And.....there is and indoor, heated pool, a hot tub AND a sauna that many members of our family enjoyed. Again...BEST THANKSGIVING EVER. Clean rooms, clean halls, clean pool, clean sauna!! Loved it and we'll be here much, much more.

Another knock out of the park by Best Western! Always best service! So clean couldn't even tell we were in a pet friendly room. TV issues made good by management above and beyond. They even sent us on our trip with a care package!!

Hotel staff not all that friendly at check-in. Kept us waiting while he made a pot of coffee, even though there was no one else in the lobby. Damage evident to one door in the hall. Unable to use outside door which was closest to our room because it was "broken".

This is a very nice hotel, far enough from the interstate to be quiet. The service at the front desk at check in was excellent and throom was clean and neat. The only problem with the room was that the bed sagged toward the middle. It wasn't visibly noticable when we first checked in but after lying down for awhile, I found myself rolling to the center. In the morning, the sagging was easily noticable. Alos, the breakfast was just oay. The eggs were not warm and the paties tasted as though they had been frozen and thawed and were a little dry. Overall, the hotel was okay a nights stay.. It was clean and quiet.

Overall, the stay was enjoyable. The indoor heated pool was great. The suite was nice and the staff were friendly and helpful. The room was clean and décor was good. No issues with mold. The bathroom was small but clean. The beds looked full size than queen but enough for me. Breakfast setup included many options.

We travelled with my 100 hundred year old mother. Staff were very accommodating. Thank you. We most enjoyed that breakfast was available. It was easier for us to have her rested and have a good breakfast. The rooms were spacious and comfortable.

This is my 2 stay at this hotel. I came here this time based on my previous stay. The room is clean. The pool and hot tub are clean and very nice. The breakfast offers many wonderful choices. And the staff goes beyond all expectations to make me comfortable and happy. I don't even look at other choices when I am in town here. This place is awesome in every way.

We checked in to the hotel. Went to dinner. Came back to the hotel and the fire alarm went off. We were moved to the hotel across the road which was $60 more a night (which was not excepted). I fell we should have been compt. for that night.

Not only am I happy with the hotel and the room I received but I do have to say the only reason I'm writing a review is because of Scott that works up front. He was so welcoming and made me feel comfortable considering I am moving 800 miles alone as a woman and am uneasy staying in unknown areas. He is so friendly and helped me park and overall a really nice person! Thanks for making my stay here feel safe and welcoming!

The Hotel was EXCELLENT for the price, i expected less quality for the low price but was pleasantly surprised, the kids and I felt special and at home there!! For me the Comfy bed and great FREE breakfast service included made this quite a BARGAIN!! Would HIGHLY recommend!!

Happened across this hotel in our travels. Thought it was just beautiful. Looked newly renovated, or a brand new hotel. Pool are was just lovely. Manager had dinner brought in for customers the evening we were checking in. Never saw that before. Staff was wonderful. Dinner had salad, lasagna, drinks and other goodies. Never saw any hotel do that! Very impressive. Manager also was very pleasant and circulated among the guests. Very friendly. Hotel was lovely. Clean, and well kept.

This property was clean, nicely appointed with pool, hot tub, exercise room. Had a lovely full HOT breakfast. The room was spotless. Staff was friendly and helpful. I will definitely be staying here again on my next trip.

We can't say enough positives about our stay here! We have stayed many places around the world, and we have to say that the staffs' helpfulness, service extras and friendly attitude are among the best, if not the best, we have experienced!. What started out as an overnight on our way to Florida ended up being a week as we waited for southern roads to be passable after the hurricane. They treated us like family, printing paperwork at no charge, giving us the same price every time we extended another day and an upgrade when there were no regular rooms one night, arranging for us to use heated pool across the street while their heater element was being fixed, answering a ton of questions, and even gave us a nice goody bag when we left!. They not only helped when we asked, they looked for opportunities themselves. For example, I was standing while waiting for the clothes dryer to finish and the manager walked by, noticed, and offered to go get me a chair. The breakfast buffet is consistently good with some variety, but the best part is the lady in charge who has such a smiley, positive attitude i couldn't help but feel positive about the day ahead!. They cheerfully went the extra mile again and again, and even offer free dinner to all guests on Wednesday night's!. The accommodations are comfortable, great exercise room, indoor pool and sauna room is really nice other than the pool heater was broken during our stay. There's no elevator going upstairs but the staff very happily helped with our luggage. When you get off the interstate, it looks like you are in the middle of nowhere. But actually there's a Wal-Mart two minutes away and just a little farther is a shopping plaza, little restaurants and stores in this nice little college town. We hope we are not delayed by a hurricane again, but we can't think of a better place to wait it out, if we are! We will definitely stay here again if anywhere near the area.

The hotel is basic. The king room was a bit small. The sink/vanity is in the room (European style), with the toilet/shower in the "bathroom". The room was clean, and breakfast was adequate. It just felt a bit skimpy ... but, that's the way it was built, I guess. OK as an overnight on a long trip.

Clean room. Man checking us in was really nice. Breakfast was good. Nice location. However, the pool heater was broke and pool was freezing and too cold to get in. Which was too bad because it had a really nice pool area. We were upgraded to a suite because it was our anniversary!

This is another of the newly upgraded Best Westerns. It is fresh and modern looking. The receptionist was extremely welcoming. Convenient to the interstate and to Shippensburg. Although we didn't use the pool or fitness center, they appeared to be adequate. The free breakfast included the usual for this type of hotel.

To many poor patch work spots. Carpeting rolled up and stacked under the stairs. Boxes of mirrors lined up in the side entrance. No elevator makes it tough for heavy luggage. I noticed that local people come to use the pool. The handicap chair for the pool and the hot tub were both out of service.

Great place to stay. Staff very friendly. Resonable rates. Also helps to be a BW member. We always stop here on our way up north. We also stop here on our way back south again. Nice restaurants nearby.

Good value, with some issues. The pro's....pool, complimentary breakfast, employees were friendly, room clean and had good size fridge and microwave. The con's.....the bottom of the tub was dirty (room 109) so I had to wear flip flops to take a shower. The sink stopper kept falling down so the water would not drain and there was no lever to push to make it go back up in the correct position. This was a nuisance. If I did not run into this problem, I would have given it 4 out of 5 stars.

We checked in right at 10:00 pm and the hotel had a pool that closes at 10. The front desk associate said she would keep it open for us if we would like! The room was clean and quiet. The woman who set up the breakfast did an AMAZING job!!! The complimentary breakfast was delicious! The only reason this is 4 stars in stead of 5 is because our room had a very heavy smoke smell to it. (we requested a smoking room, but they should do something to cut the smell somehow)

Heather is an excellent Front desk supervisor . She is out going, friendly , and very helpful with any need or questions you might have . Heather would make a good manager . I enjoy the graditude Heather gives to the hotel and to the guest that come to the hotel to stay. Also the staff that work for the hotel are great. Heather should get a standing ovation for all her hard work she puts into the hotel .

Very convenient to area attractions at a reasonable price. Only problem was an uncomfortable king bed which sagged inthe middle. No biggie, but the candy machine was out of half the products. On the plus side, there was a nice pool area and the manager even ordered in chicken parm for dinner for everyone at the hotel. First time I've run into this.

Best Western was our choice on return home as we had seen hotel on way down and with car show nearby, rooms were filled or any choices were very expensive. So we pushed on but on return trip we checked in on a Wednesday evening (using coupon for reduced rate) which happened to be on "customer appreciation" night. This check in was a definite surprise as a tray of Fettuccini Alfredo, Chef's salad, breadsticks, decent red and white wine, and a locally brewed beer were all complimentary. James at the front desk was extremely helpful with our check in and questions. Also during this time he courteously solved other guests concerns efficiently and promptly. Cleanliness was a minor point as antislip in bottom of tub was grey in contrast to rest of tub. All amenities fridge, microwave, air conditioner functioned properly. Bed was comfortable and clean as was rest of room Would definitely stay again.

We stayed at the best western in August while dropping my son off at college. When we arrived we were greeted with smiles. They have the most courteous staff I have ever encountered. They make you feel at home . There hotel was clean and beautiful and the breakfast was awesome. Thank you for making my stay a great one. I have already booked another night for when we return in September.

Not one of the better Best Westerns. My shower/tub was dirty and needed to be replaced. The refrigerator did not work. Nothing in area except gas station. Would not stay here again. Decor okay. Room not ready when I arrived at 3 pm.

review kind of says it all....when we arrived at 1 in the am, the from desk clerk was cleaning windows and doing his part to care for the lobby. he stopped and checked us in promptly. breakfast was pretty good. pool/jacuzzi was just what we needed. day desk clerk went out of way to help us. just a very nice atmosphere and good people at this small, simple but well kept motel

We just slept at the Best Western, Shippensburg Hotel last evening and was very pleased with our experience. We had a quick check-in and our room was very nicely decorated, very clean and more than adequate for our needs. The front desk clerk, Kaila, was extremely friendly and we really appreciated her talking to our daughter about nearby Shippensburg University, about her college experience. She was quite knowledgeable about the University, since she herself was a student there. Our purpose of our visit was a college visit, so this was great for our daughter to speak to her about her own experiences there. Great asset to the hotel! Definitely will use this hotel again, if our daughter chooses Shippensburg for her future.

Room was clean the lady at the first desk was a pleasure to speak to I called from my cell phone booked when I got there check-in was easy. The lady asked if I would like a drink she had miller lite I took one and thanked her I had been driving all day and could not believe how nice she was. Very pleasant stay breakfast was good to and the coffee was good.

The staff was nice and accommodating but the rooms smelled awful and the overkill of Fabreeze didn't help. We planned to stay a second night but had to move to a different hotel because we were all coughing and sneezing from the irritants in the air and not very well rested because of the added bonus of a small dog in a room across the hall barking all night. As a matter of safety I want to mention that we were towards the end of the building where the door we would have used in the event of an emergency, is missing hardware and can not be opened from the inside.

Staff was Excellant. Room clean however Room showed it age. Very slow drain in shower. AC quit in AM after we were up. Breakfast room clean and orderly. Unfortunately did not have time to advise the Management at the time of leaving.

We enjoyed our night at the Best Western in Shippensburg PA. It was very clean and nicely decorated. It has a nice choice of breakfast items. They also have a pool. The staff was very friendly. We would stay there again.

I prefer small hotels in smaller communities and this one located in Shippensburg gave us a chance to drive to Gettysburg through forests, rolling hills farm areas, or via the faster highway route. We stayed three nights in a nice ground floor room. There is no elevator. The indoor swimming pool is a good size, serving both the hotel and the small friendly community. Coffee, tea, or cocoa was always available in the lobby. I chose this area over Gettysburg because of price. Downtown Gettysburg hotels are expensive, and may charge for parking, while the larger chains are on the outskirts. I live in a rural Western community and we have no parking meters. We had to resort to alley driving to find hidden parking lots for restaurants and businesses in the area to avoid the meters and lack of proximity parking. I'm recovering from a broken knee cap.

A Nice clean hotel at reasonable price with a good staff. That is all I need and they had it. We called it an early night here after visiting the Army Heritage Museum up the road in Carlisle Pa This was a very clean and nice hotel. We really enjoyed our stay here.

Traveling family with three children. Great breakfast and pool, clean facilities, pet friendly. Parking super convenient. Lots of area food options and many deliver if needed! Would highly recommend!!

Great value for the money. Hot breakfast, indoor pool, and free spaghetti dinner. Rooms are fine for the money - I paid $88 (AAA) out the door. Free WiF, fridge, and microwave too. There's a Holiday Inn Express right across the street, but it was $135+ with no dinner. So, for one night by myself, it was a no-brainer. I would stay here again next time I'm in the area and need a room.

This hotel is an excellent place to spend the night after a day of driving. Conveniently located right off I-81, hotel is clean, staff is very friendly and polite, and the price was cheaper than all other hotels in the area. Check in was quick and easy with the fantastic customer service provided by Desk clerk Heather. Heather greeted us with a huge smile and was very polite and helpful. Heather is so customer oriented, she should be giving classes on Customer Service to other hotel clerks! Heather clearly gets her customer service attitude from General Manager, Het. Het is always smiling, and "on the go" ensuring the entire staff is very attentive to guests needs, no matter how small they may be! Realizing that most guests checking in have been travelling for most of the day, the hotel offers their guests FREE dinner, to include FREE bottled beer and glasses of wine.(After 12 hours of driving, a cold beer definitely hits the spot!) Rooms were very nice and contained large 42" flat screen tv, microwave, coffee maker, hair dryer and refrigerator. Other amenities were also very nice including: indoor swimming pool, relaxing Jacuzzi, sit-in Sauna, free hi speed wifi, and a public computer if you don't want to unpack yours! Complimentary breakfast was much nicer and healthier than other hotels, and supervised by a very friendly and dedicated employee. Staff went out of their way to ensure food was always fully stocked, prepared to your liking, and offered a smile and "have a great day!" Breakfast consisted of fruits, yogurts, eggs, sausage, waffles, biscuits and gravy, cereals, juices, coffee etc. Dinner consisted of Spaghetti, garlic bread, Greek Salad, Cordon Bleu and Pizza! There was complimentary canned sodas, bottled beer and glasses of wine. In immediate proximity to the hotel are gas stations, variety stores, Wal-Mart and several full service restaurants and fast food places. Don't believe the nonsense or negative reviews here. Staff is very friendly and polite, rooms are very clean and recently renovated, and the free dinner and breakfast are always stocked with food and drink. The negative reviews are folks looking for 5 star amenities at Budget Hotel prices. Bottom line; excellent value, clean, and convenient! We will ALWAYS stay here whenever in the PA area

We found the rooms nicely appointed and clean. However the noise level within the hotel made sleep difficult and the toilet did not allow the bathroom door to close. There was a smoke-like odor in the room. The tv service was Direct TV and really offered nothing much and was extremely slow.

Very clean, pleasant stay. Staff was very friendly and helpfull. We were able to bring our Maltese in with us. Overall pleasant and comfortable stay.Breakfast had a wide variety of items. Everything was clean and easy to use.

Pet friendly hotel with a great pool and hot tub. Shippensburg is a very nice, quiet getaway. The hotel has improved over the years... especially with competition from the Holiday Inn Express opening across the street. Best Western has improved the selection at its hot breakfast and the furnishings in the rooms have been upgraded. The pool and lobby are well kept. There are ample places to walk your pet. They are upgrading the fitness room...which was desperately needed. The phone system is a little dated and we had trouble reaching the front desk or getting a wake up call. There was also no alarm clock in the room. While the air conditioning unit looked upgraded, it was not keeping up with the heat. The room was comfotable, but never cold. Its defimately an older hotel that they are improving. But, its usually a comfotable stay. While the front desk staff changes frequently, they are always very polite and professional.

Great Value and Great Location. Very convenient to Shippensburg University. My go to hotel when visiting my daughter. Pool is always clean and looks inviting. On Wednesday nights they provide a tasty dinner and wine, free of charge to guests.

We stopped here on our way south to Florida. Lovely grounds next to a church. Very quiet! Beautiful indoor pool. Unfortunately the spa was not working when we were there. Room was outstanding. Tastefully decorated. Very comfortable mattress. Would definitely stay here again.

Located on a quiet area off I 81. Two story motel, large parking lot and the appearance of the motel was good. Interior doors to the rooms, however, you can park by your window. Good security and a quiet motel. This motel is pet friendly with a small pet fee.Decor is tasteful. Rooms have micro,-fridge, hair dryer, internet and flat panel HDTV. Has a hot breakfast, with a good selection of items.Has a indoor swimming pool. The manager Het Gandhi and the assistant manager Heather will go out of their way to make your stay comfortable with no problems. We stayed two nights and would recommend this motel. The room was very clean.

What a beautiful Hotel, the rooms were excellent along with an indoor pool. Excellent eating establishments near by. The guest workers leave a little to be desired so double check your bill when leaving. A few mistakes here and there. Dinner in town was excellent and family friendly.

Stayed here on a trip to Gettysburg, good location, clean room, friendly staff. Breakfast left a bit to be desired, biscuits were hard, eggs and sausage were cold by did have a good selection. Rooms are quite and the bed was very comfortable.

Reliable room, service, breakfast and unexpected indoor pool. Even though we missed the fact that the Hot breakfast ended at 9:30 the amenity of cold breakfast items was more than we needed. The Directory in the room of nearby restaurants was extremely helpful as well.

It is a small hotel that was very clean and quiet during my stay. Décor was updated and the pool & hot tub area makes you feel like you are at a fancy ski lodge resort, very nice! Easy access to I-81, handy for a lower-priced alternative to Carlisle hotels during fairground auto events.

very good over all. We use this Motel every time we come to Shipensburg Univertisy. we enjoy the location to the school. the mome coming and other shows at the University as well. It is less than don days drive as well

Have stayed here many, many times! Have always found it to be clean, the staff personable, breakfast items tasty and it is really easy on/off the highway. Enjoy the pool, sauna and hot tub. Close proximity to many restaurants.

We spent one night in a pet friendly room while visiting family. Clean, comfortable, nice staff and breakfast. Did not like the décor of the room or hallway, lots of black red and brown but price was right.

I found this motel to be excellent. Caring and friendly staff, very clean rooms,indoor pool, great breakfast. What more can you ask for? It was half way to my destination and had not stayed there before but, I was pretty well assured that it would be a great place to stay. Long ago I found that Best Western was one of the best motels to stay at. As a former salesman on the road, I tried many and none are better.

Stopped just for one night before flying out of Harrisburg Airport. Was very surprised and pleased with this accommodation. Wish we had been able to stay longer. The room was extremely nice and very clean. We didn't have a chance to try breakfast since we flew out so early in the morning.

I always stay at this hotel when I travel towards the Shippensburg area for work. The rooms and breakfast area are clean and the staff friendly. You can quickly travel to Gettysburg and Hershey Park and NOT pay very high process for lodging, if you do not mind driving about 30 minutes.

The Best Western Shippensburg Hotel is one of the best hotels in the area. Great staff and super clean facility. The best night sleep on what seemed to be a new high quality bed. And the free hot breakfast is a great way to start the day.

Great hot tub and pool. Good location for Carlisle/Hershey events. Rooms were a bit on the small side. Good selection of TV channels and very good Wi-Fi. Not a lot of variety in food choices locally - had to travel to Carlisle/Mechanicsburg for food.

The rooms are clean and neat. Consisting a comfortable bed and shower with a Cable TV with a guide channel. The pool is clean and warm. The hotel offers the opportunity to have a sound night rest and complimentary breakfast to get on with your day smoothly. Highly recommended.

This hotel is good for a weekend or overnight trip. The rooms are very quiet. The heater/ac is quiet. Nice that they have a mini fridge and microwave. I would like to have 2 Queen beds not Double beds. Also, The bathroom was very small but clean. Overall I would stay here again but only if I get it at a better price than somewhere else close to Shippensburg.

Great heated indoor pool. Easily accessed business center. Indoor corridor. Quick and easy check-in/out. Quiet and peaceful. Very clean. Wireless Internet was not functional the night we were there but business center was operational.

This is a budget hotel, but it has been well maintained, has a nice indoor pool that a family seemed to be enjoying. Easy on and off I-81. Staff was exceptionally pleasant (and actually gave a good reco for dinner at the Shippensburg diner, a traditional diner with a great Reuben sandwich and some home-cooked specials on the menu.) TV did not work so we had to switch rooms, but that was minor. Breakfast was okay (what you normally get in this type of hotel), had a nice quiet night's sleep. I would go back. Compared very favourably to another budget hotel we stayed at the next night.

The hotel was safe, clean and the bed was comfortable. I also appreciated the quietness of the hotel. I did not try the breakfast, but it was a "selling" feature to staying at this hotel. The location was very good; and the hotel has been in the same location for over 14 years!

First time at this hotel and it was fine. Only negative comments would be that the bathroom needed updating and more shelving to put toiletries. Breakfast room and food was great with plenty of tables and a variety of food.

Checked in at 4:00 pm and all was good until I used my Discount Coupon Book. I went from receiving a King size room to a Queen wheelchair room and I only received that after I said I would not stay as only room available was a one double bed room. My question is - how this happened after I presented the discount coupon book. I decided I would go on site and try to book room - I was accepted and told I could have a King size bedroom?????? Bathroom is dirty - shower curtain on bottom is very very dirty - their is a good size crack in the bottom of the shower stall - I can only imagine the filth in that crack!!!! The seat to sit on has soap scrum on it!!!! I have taken pictures of the shower!!!! The heat and the air conditioner not working called front desk - calling back - wonder what the reply will be!!!! The vents on the air conditioner are filled with dust!!!! Room 114!!!! I would have paid the extra to have a better room - anything would be better than this room !!! Not long after maintenance left and supposedly fixed the heater - it caught on fire, smoke filled the room we called front desk and evacuated room - maintenance showed up again and said we could not stay in this room so moved us across the hall room 113! Queen size room which I was told did not have? I need to say that this story could have ended in tragedy if the heat had been turned on whe going to bed or if we had left the room with the heater on!!

This a great place to stop and relax. Our room was very good The town is a university town and is very typical Americana. Great places to walk, the manager went out of his way to find a great local park. Many good choices in the area for dining. The university grounds are wonderful.

SHORT VERSION: Skip this place and head for the Holiday Inn or Courtyard Marriott down the street, or head to Chambersburg to be closer to food and amenities. LONG VERSION: My coworker and I were at this hotel for a week when we were visiting Pennsylvania for work. The customer service is terrible -- when we checked in, the associate was absent minded and kept asking us questions such as: "Did you get your keys yet? Oh whoops, they are right here behind the counter." "You know what room you are in?" "What kind of beds did you want again?" "You rented two rooms right?" Since she was the one assigning rooms, it was a bit confusing to be asked if we knew what room we were in. She then began to apologize for having her cell phone on, where she was in the process of chatting with her daughter. You could clearly hear her daughter on the phone. Eventually we got everything sorted and managed to enter our rooms. The rooms are damp and musty, with extremely loud air conditioner and refrigerators in each room. My coworker had to turn them off because she wasn't able to sleep over the noise. The walls are thin, and you can hear clearly into the hallways and into the next rooms. The beds are lumpy and quite old, it's clearly been some time since they'd been replaced or upgraded. SECURITY IS A HUGE ISSUE. My room door would not lock at all. I asked for it to get fixed and was assured it would be done immediately. When I returned later that day, it still had not been fixed and the night associate was surprised when I told her that I had spoken to the morning attendant about it ("Oh, she didn't tell me anything.") The night attendant moved me into another room afterwards, but after a week I noticed that the door still hadn't been fixed. In addition, my colleague had someone try to enter her room one morning. Thankfully she had her door chain up, but the person managed to enter her room before realizing there was a chain and left. When my colleague went to inquire at the front desk if it was house keeping (nobody had announced themselves before entering), the front desk staff was unable to communicate with their house keeping staff to get clarification. There was a clear language barrier, and instead of trying to work through it the front desk staff gave up completely. They gave my colleague a "gift bag" as an apology gift, which only had a Snickers bar and a small water bottle. All in all, this is one of the worst places I've stayed in America and it really makes me rethink staying with the Best Western chain. Skip this location and move on, for your sanity and security.

We always look forward to stopping at Shippensburg's Best Western on our long journey home. The kids really enjoy swimming in the pool while looking out on the snow. The staff make you feel that you are at home. The newly renovated rooms add a touch of elegance. There was even ample room for the roll away bed. Breakfast of waffles, eggs and sausage ready and waiting for you adds to the sense of family.

Right off the thruway. We were given a AAA discount. The HOT breakfast in the morning was very enjoyable. The staff was pleasant and we were given bottles of water when we left for the road. I would have loved it if they had outside doors to the rooms.

One of our grandchildren lives in this town and when we come to visit she likes to go to a hotel with a pool with JUST US LOL. We were unhappy the last place we stayed so decided to switch. Great idea! The pool is open until eleven and is spotless and warm even late in the evening and has a hot tub as well. Outside entrances to the halls to the rooms but steps up are inside and so is the pool enterance. The beds were so comfortable and everything had been updated. The only thing is that the only rooms with more than one bed are double beds and the bathroom was really really small. That being said for a night it was just fine and would have been fine for a weekend as well. Staff was very helpful and friendly and it is right off the interstate and right on the edge of town. Close to Carlisle and Chambersburg. Breakfast was average but a nice and very clean Area to dine in with a later time than most. Checkout was also a little later than most which is good if you have to get up and swim before you leave lol. Senior Rate was fabulous. We will be staying again.

This hotel is very handy to the highway, we stayed because we had a discount coupon from the hotel coupon book. Good hotel nothing out of the ordinary, clean with polite staff. The only problem is the choices for eating nearby. We ate at CJ's a steak house. The food was very good as was the service but a bit pricey for a travel meal. Not many other choices close

Stayed at the BW Shippensburg in 2012, 2014, and now 2016...and every visit has been worse than the stay prior. This time....room was dirty, mirrors streaky looking as if someone just waved at them, the toilet was extremely small [couldn't turn around in bathroom] sink outside of bathroom area...opps back to bathroom...the toilet was dirty...EXTERIOR portion. The hotel said they had upgraded me...but I ended up on the second floor without an elevator and lots of bags....and plenty of rooms on floor one. Neither my wife or I used the shower or other options...too dirty! When I went to the breakfast.,.the coffee taste like instant with a shot of hot water,,i know the machine signage says "freshly brewed" but very poor quality. At breakfast time opening [0600] no eggs..from the attendant " I am sorry they aren't done yet" so I went to check out...sign in front said sorry" clerk in kitchen preparing breakfast be right back". Since my recent visit a new chain hotel has been constructed right across the street.....If BW doesn't correct issues soon they will not be ther I expect for my return in 2018.

a very positive and warming overnight stay. We would recommend this Best Western to anyone.The staff were helpful, breakfast very filling ,beds comfortable easy access to and from the vehicle.We have stayed at various other locations but the first place that brings the most positive memory of our trip was to have more stays just like Best Western Shippenburg.

I want to start by saying the bed makes the stay, this bed was very comfortable better than some higher priced hotels we stayed at this trip!! No springs in my back! We checked in after midnight on the night of the 13th and the young man at the desk was very helpful as the reservation I made through Hotels .com was a mess !!! (As a mater of fact all the dealings with hotels .com were a mess!!) But he was able to fix everything and get us into a room. The room was clean, non smoking, pets welcome which makes me nervous but there was no smell (my husband has alergies to pet dander and hair and he was fine). The bathroom was on small side but exceptable and clean.I did see other reviews about not having a dog walk, however a responsible pet owner should walk their pet across the parking lot to the treed area and let the pet take care of it's needs.Also responsible pet owners carry bags AND do not let their furry friend do their business on the side walk!! (Nor should the fact that some irresponsible pet owner locked their small dog alone in rm across from us while they went for breakfast and the poor little thing barked its head off!!)This is just plain disrespectful to other guest and should not be a reflection on hotel staff which I found to be helpful friendly and curtious! ! The breakfast was exceptional eggs, sausage, baccon, variety toast, biscuits and gravy, cereal fruit, coffee, tea,waffels etc. All good. Had a heated pool indoor and it was handicapped excessable.Excellent value for the money!!!

Great place to stay in the Shippensburg area. Clean rooms and facility. Comfortable bed and pillows, just what I needed after a long day. A mile or so off the highway so peace and quiet. The hot breakfast is a great free way to start the day

Free breakfast plenty of options, the rooms were nice not to mention the staff was wonderful! Close to a lot of stores & Shippensburg University. The indoor pool is a nice touch. Easy access to the highway.

We got a great room with balcony that over looked the pool. Breakfast was good with several different options. My family had a great time and rarely even left the hotel. We will definitely stay here again.

We have stayed at the Best Western Shippensburg twice while visiting our sons at Shippensburg University. Both stays have been wonderful. The room was clean and nicely decorated. Breakfast in the morning featured both hot and cold items and was quite filling. The manager and front desk staff were very helpful and professional. I look forward to our next visit to our boys and would recommend this hotel to anyone staying in the Shippensburg area.

We found this hotel to be very friendly and accommodating. The staff was very helpful and went out of their way to make sure our stay was to our satisfaction. A nice array of items at the breakfast both hot and cold.

Customer service was good, but room left a lot to be desired. Shower was hardly working. Dirty towel on back of door when arrived. Freezer door to refrig. was broken off. Water temp in shower fluctuates hot & cold. Cleaning service knocked on door at 8:30 AM. Left card on bed, no need to change linens, but never made the bed either. Nice decor. Nice TV. Not enough seating in breakfast area, however there was a graduation event going on.

Wonderful pool area. Pool temp of 86 degrees meant my grandchildren were warm and happy while playing and making memories together. Also enjoyed the breakfast - lots of options. Appreciated the friendly service and the accommodations made for our group.

We plan our trip going through this hotel because it is so great. We have never had any problems here, staff and cleanliness is always exceptional. Good location. I have encourage family and friends to stop here when traveling through Pennsylvania and have never heard anything bad about this BW.

I could never ask for a better place to stay than Best Western.Out of all the ones I have stayed at I have never had a complaint, this one here in Shippensburg Pennsylvania is no different than all the others as far as exceptional quality is concerened

Clean hotel,comfortable beds, surprisingly nice breakfast buffet ,stayed in room with hot tub very nice and relaxing, easy access to Route 81 not in the center of town but just a short drive to downtown

Rooms are always clean and comfortable , minor issues with checking inn, presumably because of new staffing, we felt rushed to eat breakfast and felt un comfortable with the breakfest staffer who seemed a bit anxious to clean the room at 8:30 food was cold and not cooked , felt rushed to check out

My title says it all. Great beds, pillows, and bedding--husband loved the heated pool--good breakfast--nice people. The cleaning staff standards were low and pride of appearance was lacking--bathtub scum, dirty mirrors, grit on sink . . . had to buy scrub pads and clean things myself.

Stopped at this hotel for the first time and encountered Nikki. She was rude, did not answer questions and was not concerned with her job. I asked her name three times and she would not give it. Finally she wore a name tag! Her check in with others seemed a bit better but quality should not depend on whether the guest is male or female. We will not return to this hotel.

We have stayed at the Best Western Shippensburg previously, but it has been some time ago. This hotel did not disappoint, and was quiet and comfy. We did take advantage of the indoor pool which was quite refreshing. We did not partake of their breakfast, as we had to depart prior to breakfast being served. We would definitely stay at this Best Western again.

The smoke order - over whelming. ventilation was bad, water pressure and i checked in between 330-4 pm, and had to ask if they would make the bed. I have stay at other Best Western and was disappointed in this one.

Friendly, helpful staff. Nice, comfortable hotel. Since I travel via motorcycle, a good nights rest is imperative. The desk clerk even suggested that I park my Harley under the overhang, to keep it out of the weather. Shippensburg is a really nice town, located in a really pretty spot in Pennsylvania. There are good restaurants nearby, and the morning breakfast provided by the hotel is pretty good.

After four nights in a hotel with a non-working washing machine, my first plan was to do the laundry and reorganize my luggage for a stay in NYC. The desk clerk not only allowed me to check in before the "official" time, and gave me a first floor room close to the laundry but far enough away that it was very quiet. Room was clean and quiet. Breakfast was the usual "hot breakfast options, but better than average because the scrambled eggs were "real" rather than the pre-made "omelets" you get in many hotels. Despite the fact that this appears to be the home base for a lot of Comcast service trucks, it was very quiet. Just what I needed for a restful one night stay.

This hotel is basic and a very good value. It is not near restaurants and we found only one gas station nearby. It is very quiet even though it is near route 81. Would recommend this hotel for an overnight or longer if you need to be in the area. Did not use the indoor pool, but it looked lovely.

I booked well in advance for a nice room. I just arrived and was sent to an old smoke saturated smelling tiny single queen handicap and told I was pretty much stuck with it by the manager. I checked out the room and it had junk piled by the front door. The handicapped bathroom was almost as big as the tiny, stinky, dirty room. i had to leave the room immediately as the smoke smell was adversly affecting me. Of ALL the people who will be arriving after me I am the one they want to shove in a room that reminds me of a laundry room more than a hotel room. He did not offer to move anyone who has not yet arrived though he says everything is "First Come, First Serve"? WE ARE IN THE PROCESS of negotiation still. The manager says there are no more rooms available for the weekend, but he put me in a very nice room JUST FOR TONIGHT. If he does not get a cancellation for tomorrow I am out of luck and must find another hotel. Everything in this town will be full this weekend, be a dump, or be way more expensive. I will also have to use VALUABLE time to move to another room or another hotel if the even is anything available. The manager said cancellations go to the first person in line, but would not guarantee the, even though there is no one has asked, could not guarantee that I was first in line. In other words, just words. I am too tired to find a place right now so I have accepted the only alternate room for tonight (which is nice), but may be foolishly trusting I will get a tolerable room tomorrow. If they make good on what I paid for well in advance they will deserve to have this review updated or removed. For now, though, as other reviews have also pointed out, this place is not worth your frustration. BTW Last month Mt. Hood Best Western was great. In August Mammoth Lakes, CA Best Western was great for three nights on two separate stays. Yet tomorrow I may be searching for anything but a Best Western in that I physically cannot stay in what they claim is all they will give me.. as of now.

heading towards home (Canada ) on 81 north we went through snow storms, freezing rain and more all through Virginia ,west Virginia Maryland , and Pennsylvania. finally made it to this hotel and the hostess met us and greated us with a big family friendly smile..her shift replacement hadn't shown up yet but she kept the lobby lit up..it was a well deserved smile and such a great greeter to make sure that we were all checked in and parked..she went out of her way to check the local weather forecast so that we could go to her suggested "cJ's bar and grille and that restaurant was a treat to be there..thank you hostess..best western Shippensburg knows how do it right. this all took place sunday march 1/15

Unplanned trip, Was happy to have found and stayed at this hotel. Staff friendly, helpful and patient especially when dealing with senior citizens It was not far from the interstate, convenient access For us a yet quiet and peaceful. Rooms were comfortable and refrigerator (a necessary as we travel with certain Medications that must be refrigerated) and microwave in room.

beds were great, place felt clean, glad that our dog could stay with us. Front desk Ashley was very friendly and a pleasure to talk to. The pool looked very appealing, although we were too tired to check it out. Breakfast selections standard, decent. Room was quiet enough, no road noise. I like the 2nd floor so that we don't hear elephants above us, just a little noise in the hallways in the morning but we were already awake.

Check-in was friendly and quick. We had no complaints about the room. It was clean and comfortable. We were placed on the first floor, which wasn't as noisy as we thought it might be. We usually ask for a top floor where it is quieter, but those rooms were filled since it was a Saturday night. The hotel is conveniently located off of the Interstate, and there are places to eat close by. My only complaint about this place is that the hot tub wasn't hot. The water was the same temperature as the swimming pool. Management needs to look into this.
