On a Vacation to San Antonio, our strategy was to spend the first two nights downtown at Riverwalk, and then the rest of the time at a less expensive hotel away from downtown. We chose this Best Western Plus. It was a very good choice. We had a great stay. The front desk was helpful. They had a complimentary breakfast (unlike the downtown hotel.) They had a business center so we could print off our boarding passes. There was free parking. We used a google maps app on a cell phone to navigate from the hotel to downtown and attractions. We swam in the pool one time. It was clean and pleasant. We recommend this hotel.

Our visit was highlighted by the comfortable bed and the delicious hot breakfast served in the morning at this hotel. The location was just a few yards from the freeway so we had easy access to eating places.

We checked in for a 2 day/2 night stay for a family reunion that provided room for multiple families. Our room was clean, comfortable and really quiet even being on street side. The pool area was clean, the water cold on a sunny day.

the staff is most accommodating doing what ever it takes so your stay most delightful. the rooms are super and a most inviting pool. next time i will totally take advantage of it. i will totally come back to this best western. job well done.

Overall the hotel is great. From the initial checkin to leaving. Checkin was quick and staff very friendly. Room was larger than expected and was great. Large bed with a small sitting area. Room had everything you need.... coffee maker, microwave, small fridge, iron board with iron, hair dryer, etc. Breakfast one day had eggs, bacon, boiled eggs, pasties, and waffles. Large sitting area and breakfast started at 6am. Second day had eggs and sausage patties. Good thing is they have three waffle makers which speed up the process of making them. Most hotels have one or two and you have to wait. Overall this is a 4.5 out of 5. All ok n all the hotel is great with all the essentials. Ice machine on every floor but no vending. Have to go down to check in desk for items like soda, water and snacks.

Honestly there is nothing wrong with the property, it's the housekeeping workers that aren't doing their jobs right. They don't Vacuum nor clean the restrooms right. They don't even clean mirrors or counter tops. I really hope you all get your housekeepers on the ball, they are making your place of business look bad. First day I stayed it looked nice but the restroom smelled like urine, the carpet was not vacuumed. It's the second day after coming back from visiting my mom at the hospital and the carpet is still dirty, the restroom is still smelling like urine, counter tops are still dirty. All the did was replace towels and make the beds. And that wasn't even done right. This place has a lot of potential, it's your workers that aren't putting their part. Just the front desk people they've been great.

Great people to stay with, nice rooms well decorated the lobby is clean and organised. I highly recommend all kinds of travelers if in the area please do look for this particular motel.Very close to lots of eating places as well as great Mall for shopping.

Great customer service. Host that welcomed us was very nice and professional. Breakfast bar was well stocked every morning. Pool was crowded daily. Hotel has a shortage of towels. Overall very good, rooms were very clean and the price was reasonable.

This hotel was completely full, so I really feel that when they are not overwhelmed with five stories of vacationing families it would be a great place to stay. However, There were stains on my bedding, the staff could not properly keep up with the cleaning. Breakfast was ok and the lady working the breakfast was working her but off to keep it stocked. I have never seen a hotel breakfast area so crowded and overwhelmed with guests. I really think in non peak season this would actually be a great stay.

I had the best time here. They rooms were clean, they were cold, the staff was nice. The location was great, close to everything we needed to do. I didn't get to eat the breakfast at all but maybe next time. Have to take another trip to San Antonio soon so I will surely stay there again.

Nobody was there to greet, check in or check out. Breakfast staff just stopped bringing food out before 9, sheets were stained, rooms were small, could barely walk in between beds. Were not able to help me with luggage, you only get about two towels.

I stayed at this hotel while attending a conference at the Medical Center. While I usually prefer to stay at a more full service hotel, I found this hotel perfectly suitable for my stay. It was really convenient to the Medical Center and to the airport. The staff was friendly, the rooms were clean, the beds were comfortable, and there was plenty of parking. There were numerous outlets and USB outlets, too. While there is not a lot in the immediate area, the hotel is near lots of highways so it is easy to get anywhere in the metro area. I did not care for the free breakfast but having a fridge in the room made up for it. I would definitely stay here again.

I called from the airport to ask roughly how much a taxi would cost. The receptionist said she did not know as she never took them (not a satisfying answer) but suggested withdrawing $20 as that would more than cover it (which it did not, incurring more ATM charges had I followed her advice). It took a while to check in as the one receptionist was dealing with a guest who said that she had been overcharged. The reception called me a taxi to the airport, but it never came and I had to push for more help. Fortunately at that point the chap ordered me an Uber. The property is next to a massive highway and not well situated for pedestrians.

I stayed at this hotel for a quick trip to San Antonio to visit my kids. Was easy to book the room online and I used reward points so it was a free one night stay. The hotel is conveniently located and not far from the airport. The room was spacious, very clean and bed comfortable. Did not have the complimentary breakfast because I left early in the morning to catch an early flight out of town. Enjoyed my short stay and highly recommend this hotel.

I've been using this hotel since September 2016. The last time was the day before my daughters open heart surgery. We didn't get a chance to enjoy the breakfast lol but our night was great. Anytime we have a minor issue, the staff is ready and willing to help any way they can. I will definitely recommend this hotel to all of my family & friends. We would like to give a big thank you to the hotel staff.

Last min stop for me and my cousin. We were able to get a room and use my points with no problem. They were very nice. The only thing I was not to crazy about was how crowded the breakfast area was and there was not a hot breakfast out it ran out. I know they were trying to keep up. Bless there hearts. But it was still a good stay.

Great bed and pillows, very clean, seemed like a new hotel. Good breakfast that included eggs, not just starchy items. Parking was free, a key point for me. We were there in cold weather, but overlooked the outdoor pool. It looked great - clean even in winter. I will be returning to this hotel when I am in the area again.

"The place to get ripped off and yelled at"

Dear travelers. I have rated this as a five star so you may have a chance to read this, I am concerned that if I rate this as one star... one will read it and you will not have a chance to be warned. Most of us look for hotels which are a deal so we have more spending money for the holidays. Unfortunately... we were robbed in the hotel. No one broke in, however, items we had purchased were gone. Boxes were left open and empty. As most travelers in San Antonio for shopping, Premium Outlets and Tanger are a must stop. And so we did. On the last night of our stay, we realized that several things we had already packed, were gone. Mostly clothing and jewelry. To top this... this was not the worst part of the situation. We went directly to the front desk, where a girl named Clarissa was the worst representative to the hotel. I explained our things were gone and showed her the empty boxes and ticket from the store and invited her to come up to the room and review things... her response was " our house keeping staff has worked here for many years and we have never had any incidents, thus I will not have them doubted". Travelers... if you do your homework.... which I did, (and to my regret the low cost of this hotel was more attractive than a poor review), you will find another review in which a guest indicates 4 pants were missing from the room and received no response. This tells you this is not the first time this has happened in this hotel. I asked the front desk attendant I wanted to see the footage from cameras. It turns out there are no cameras in the hallways. I asked to see records of who had gone into the room to clean, I was told they could not provide this to us. She pulled out the record the guest signs when checks in, and snapped at me indicating that we had signed a waiver when we checked in that they were not responsible for any lost items. To this I responded that then were at loss as the hotel could do nothing. She initially responded yes. I started to film her and then she indicated no. This all happened a few feet away from the breakfast area and was packed with guests. Was I yelling? yes I was... we had just discovered our items were lost. Did the front desk attendant had any control of the situation? no, she had not. She lost complete control of the situation, when she is supposed to be trained to manage this and any type of situation. The front desk attendant indicated we could contact the police and make a report. She would only provide information to them. The house cleaning personnel arrived at 10:00 am, and this took place between 08:30 and 09:30 hrs. As a family we decided to leave the hotel and started packing. Did we talk to guests along the way? yes we did. When the front desk attendant found out, her comment to me was "I can have you escorted out my property by the police if you continue to talk to my guests" her second remark was " If so much money was taken from you, I do not understand why you are not calling the police" I answered very clearly "I will not have my family spend the entire day in a police investigation during the last day of our vacation. We can replace the items robbed, but not time" To this... she added " I am happy for you" Enough of smart remarks from a hotel employee... I am as disbelief of what happened. here. My husband came out with all of our things and stopped at the front entrance where I was waiting. We started talking and the front desk attendant ran out and yelled at me " stop talking to my guests" I said "This is my husband, can I talk to him?" once again with the smart remarks she answered... "yes you can". Travelers.... Please do not make the same mistake I did. I decided to overlook one bad remark in order to save money and have more to shop. More than the items that were lost, no guest deserves to be treated as such. If a guest loses control, which at one point or another we all have as customers... then the personnel in charge should take control and not threaten the customer as she did. To the Management... you do not have personnel which will safeguard your name in case of a bad situation. Bad things happen in all places, a good treatment a good response, more empathy towards your customer may have eased the situation. Sadly, it was not. I later called the 1800 number for Best Western. Their response was that each property is independent, and they could do nothing. The person who took the call read what the front desk attendant had reported, and it said something along the words of "Customer provided different versions of items lost... this continues to be investigated" To those wondering why we did not call the police... picture this... last day of holiday at Christmas break, being Mexican in a US hotel with a front desk attendant out if her wits.... do you really think anything would have been solved? I hardly think so. I have vastly traveled in the US and will continue to do so. I have always loved the fact that US business have a great respect for customers and great service. This was not the case. Hopefully this will reach you, and if you decide to stay in the hotel due to price and location, which are great... just make sure you lock your suitcase and do not leave your things around in the room. Just in case.

"Potential is there... but"

Pros Front desk staff was friendly. Breakfast was acceptable Cons 1-There was trash on the floor of our room when we arrived. Not trash hidden under the bed but laying in the middle of the walkway. 2- Two days the staff did not clean my sisters room. 3- The second night we arrived back to our room tired, emotional, and late. As I got ready to climb into our bed the top sheet had a very large stain, pictured below. We called down for clean sheets. After 30 minutes we called down again and the front clerk brought up a clean sheet and handed it to my husband. He handed the stained sheet back to her and she left. No apology just a comment about being short staffed. 4- The next night when we came back, the beds had been made however I could tell the bathroom floor hadn't been washed up. My husband went into the bathroom to get himself ready for bed. When he finished he realized there were no towels, was clothes, hand towels. Not trusting that anyone would come in a hasty manner, he went down to the desk and asked for towels, etc. 5- The toilet, where the bolts screw into the floor, was disgusting. When we arrived it was gross and again after our room was “cleaned”. 6- Sister needed to print boarding passes for airline tickets. Went to business center and printer was broken. 7- For 3 mornings the breakfast area was so crowded, people had no place to sit. If you're going to have a large hotel you ought to have a decent amount of tables to accommodate your guests. 8- The “24 hr available coffee” usually means there is coffee in the pots!! Sad part is we stayed in a BWPlus in Aberdeen, TX before arriving in San Antonio. It was nice. Clean, roomy, and we weren't climbing over each other just to walk through the room!

Right off I-10 & 410 so easy to get places. Breakfast area somewhat cramped, room was clean & everything worked. Parking area well-lit and seemed secure, staff helpful. Comfy bed with good bedding & plenty of pillows. Good-sized desk & internet was plenty fast enough.

Great value for the money at this time of the year (Nov-Dec). Pleasant personnel. Clean.Close to freeway for downtown travel but very little noise. Ample parking. Good hot breakfast. Great outside pool but not heated.

We received an excellent price for the room during our stay on our trip to Sea World. The staff was really friendly and attentive. The hotel and our room was clean and comfortable. We enjoyed the warm and plentiful breakfast. All a good deal. I would stay here again!

I was very pleased with my stay. The beds were super comfortable and the room was very clean. Check in and Check out were done very quickly. The breakfast was good. The only problem that I had was a stopped sink drain in the bathroom. I had not notified the staff, until I checked out. They are very attentive, and I am sure they will clear up the problem for the next guest. Great stay!

It was nice, only 12,000 points a night, easy hwy access, but the front desk could use some more training. Housekeeping does not have uniform so they looked horrible, some even had their kids and stayed on property.

We stayed here for around $70 per night . Our room was very clean . We ate breakfast here every morning . We had waffles,eggs,toast and sausage . One morning they had bacon . They have cereal and other breakfast items . Worth $70 per night . It's about 8 miles from Lackland Airforce base . The hotel is clean . I would most definitely stay here again ..

This hotel has a great value. The Cleaning Staff were very thorough and very friendly. My family stayed here for about 2 1/2 weeks and didn't have any problems. (when we extended our stay after the first week, we had some billing issues, but they were resolved in about 24 hrs.) We were on the top floor so we had a nice view and no problems with noise. The room was smaller than most BW that we have stayed in, but it was comfortable with a good bed and nice TV.

Stayed here for a few weeks while in San Antonio working. The staff were all friendly and willing to help. The rooms are a tad small but comfortable. Our first room had an ac issue so we were moved. The 2nd room had dirty sheets. Housekeeping was gone so they brought us clean sheets to put on ourselves, which was fine. And they did give us the room for the night at half price. The breakfast was typical food you'd find on a hotel breakfast bar and it was always hot. The location of the hotel is right off the highway and within a 5-7 min drive to eating and shopping. Warning: there is no customer laundry onsite which I thought was weird but the front desk will direct you to the nearest laundrymat.

When being there, my bed sheets had poop stains and were unsanitary. I asked to move to another room but they only had one room available and it was put on the system as dirty and it was a king bed when I asked for 2 queen sized beds. The next day, the staff was rude, yes we were upset but staff was acting as if they were the victims. I booked through a third party and they called for the refund like I was told by the manager and manager told the third party that I was lying. When clearly, they had seen the poop stains. NEVER again will I stay at a Best Western. I travel for my job, and mostly stay at Best Westerns but after this experience it ruined my whole vacation with my husband. It was our first time out after a death in the family and the staff ruined it. My husband and I couldn't sleep comfortable all night knowing that these people don't clean their rooms like it should. Plus manager and employee even told me, that if I didn't like the service or room to not ever stay again, simple. This is just an example on the kind of people there are in this location.

air conditioning not in working order. it cooled but sounded and felt like a train going through our room ever time it kicked in.Staff didn't want to compensate for this. talked to assistant manager and she treated us trying to dismiss us instead of listening to the issue. said they would try to get it fixed before the next guest.

Nice place, rooms were nice and clean and the beds were firm, the parking lot was big enough to fit my truck with no problems and it was well lit. The hotel has easy access to the 410 and getting back to the hotel was easy also

Not happy with the space -- too small and cabinets in room awkward. Breakfast was not enough for the number of guests, continued to run out of eggs, coffee, food was just enough to get by. lack of coordination in the kitchen.

The reception staff were excellent especially JON who gave us information on the town and recommended excellent restaurants ,would highly recommend this hotel and would stay here again . The new Vietnamese restaurant and bakery across the car park is well worth a visit ,Dos Equis draught at $3 a glass!!!

I'm giving this place two Stars only because the tall redheaded woman working the front desk was extremely nice and patient the young Hispanic woman working with her was the opposite. Took a little over 2 hours to check into this hotel the first two rooms we're either wet and moldy or the air conditioner rattled too loud to endure. The third room although still damp the air conditioner worked but the remote control on the TV did not, it took three tries to get one that worked as well. There were also quite a few questionable looking people hanging out drinking beer in the parking lot. The beds are comfortable. Breakfast was average.

For the price paid, I am satisfied and since it was a short trip did not have much interaction with hotel staff except check-in and check-out. Rooms are quite small, AC unit makes loud noise and just next to your bed is inconvenient. Odor in Elevator area is really bad, felt like bed bug spray, took precautions to clean all my clothes and belonging before taking them into my home. Otherwise I am satisfied with the stay and location.

The room I stayed in was smaller than most, probably the smallest I've had at a hotel in some time. Most everything else was just average at best, no real deal killers but I've had better for less. Room seemed humid, sheets were limp - don't know if something was wrong with A/C or maybe just result of warm humid weather outside. TV didn't have as many channels as most hotels, for instance didn't have MSNBC.

When we arrived at this hotel we were told there was a water problem, but it would be repaired in an hour. That hour stretched to over two hours and the pipes still drip in the bathroom. The key cards did not work on the first day and rather than go back to the front desk we caught an employ who explained they have a lot of trouble with the key cards. In this case our light just kept flashing baca and forth from red to green. The employee said the trick is to pull the handle twice as soon as it turns to green. After about 5 tries we finally got in the room. The room was nice, but the dresser is located at the foot of the bed and two people can't squeeze in to put their clothes away. If you are going opposite directions in the room, one person must stop and wait until the other passes the bed because no two people can squeeze through at the same time. The room was so cold we turned the air conditioning off for the week and let cold air from the hall seep in under the door. This was comfortable even thought the weather was sunny and 95 each day for a week. I could not wait to get in my rented car, because it felt like Alaska throughout the hotel. At least the car air conditioning worked enough that we could be cool with out goose bumps. The outdoor pool looks nice and is in the blazing sun until about three PM, but it felt like it was ice water. There was no one at the pool most of the time and the people that dared go in lasted about 30 seconds. If you laid on one of the few lounge chairs you were about 5 inches off the pavement and on a hard chair with no padding. The worst part is the side walk slants away from the pool and when kids splash out side all the water pools under the chairs so any clothes on the side walk get soaked. Now for the night mare! we had trouble getting in our room for the first 2 days and recharging the key cards did no good. I took my wife out for her birthday 09/14 and had a great meal. Every thing was going great until we returned and spent about 5 minutes using both of our keys trying to get back in our room. I went down stairs to get help and there was no one at the front desk. There was a sign saying they would be back soon. Tell me how long is" soon" when you are waiting to get into your room? After 4/5 minutes I started ring the desk bell. No answer I then yelled for help several times before the night clerk walked down the hall. She told us she would recharge the keys and all would be ok. You guessed it. The keys still did not work. Back to the desk we went only to find no one there. I was pissed off so i rang the bell for about 5 minutes. No results. I screamed for help for about 3 minutes and this same night worker came in from outside. She said she would help us. back to the 3rd floor and none of the three of us could get in. We stood in the hall for 5 minutes while she went to the front desk and brought us 2 keys to the room next door. Surprise, those keys worked so we watched TV while she looked for a maintenance man. In about 10 minutes we were called and advised a man would work on our lock soon. I went out to the hall about 5 minutes later and the maintenance man had the lock off and was replacing the battery. We went back to our room and waited for repair to be completed. Finally we were told there was nothing wrong with the battery and he would have to take a lock off another room and install it on our door. He did and it worked.Total time wasted waiting for this whole mess to be rehashed : 2hours and 5 minutes. I should mention the night clerk offered to change our room, but why bother repacking every thing when we could set in our room and watch the repair in comfort. Now it's time to say some thing good if I can think of something. Our refrigerator worked and it was the best refrigerator we have ever had in a hotel. Maid serve was ok. Parking was plentiful. They had the usual complemental breakfast. This did me no good because I don't eat breakfast, but my wife said she enjoyed the bagels and the coffee was very good. Oh yes the TV was a flat screen 42 inches that work well. That's it.

We were looking for a budget property to stay in San Antonio. This one was great! Not too near the river walk but for $64 was a good deal with free breakfast. Clean rooms and & comfy beds. Looks like it has had some recent upgrades

This was the first time our family had no complaints while staying at a hotel. We have stayed in hotels all over the USA including abroad and there was at always complaints something dirty or rude service that ruined our stay. We all get that urge to go some here different or change our pace in life after retiring you have that time but not the money! Quality of services depends on staff doing their part. Not bad. Housekeeping staff needs to do a better job. Water damage in shower area. Nice bed and A/C. Rooms appear to be clean overall. The lobby and interior areas seem to have been updated with in recent years. Breakfast was good.

Room was cramped, kinda small and tight. The A/C seems to have been tampered with because I could not keep the fan on without shutting off completely. I did not have it set to auto mode so it leads me to believe that hotel staff and maybe owners saw it as a cost effective way to save on expenses.

Hotel is located in a very good area. Rooms are small but okay for just the night. Breakfast section is too small with no options to take something with you if you're in a rush. Check in clerk was not attentive and checkout clerk was very attentive.

The stay @ the Best Western was medical related. Front desk went above & beyond expectations from the moment we booked to check out time. Excellent service. Only one complaint was the a/c was not cooling properly. It went unreported on our part. But I am certain it would have been addressed.

This is a very nice Best Western. It is located near loop 410 and is easy access to anything on the western and north central part of San Antonio. It is a good place to stay if you wish to go to the theme parks. The employees were all helpful and the room was clean and well prepared for our arrival. The cost was very reasonable. The breakfast was varied and very good. Egg, Eggs with potatoes mixed in, cheese and sausage were all available as well the normal continental breakfast items. Overall we had a pleasant stay. I would highly recommend this location.

The hotel had an overall nice appearance but the stay was not as appealing. The hallways were hot, the room AC would semi cool, the room service would not clean the room completely, other guest were very noisy coming in and out of the doors leading to the stairs and this went on into late night hours. The beds were not as comfortable.

Stayed 6 days horrible mold and mildew smell in hallway to room (2nd floor) floor by a/c stayed wet. Shower water was never hot just lukewarm. Breakfast station entirely too small. Hotel is close to everything.

I love the Bed, I was able to relax, not the best space for 4 everything is to thigh up but i did have everything i need it. Bathroom need some repair quiet room, 15 minutes away from seaworld and Aquatica but overall good place

My room was very worn, with carpet stains and a bedspread that was stained as well. Musty, damp feeling room that needs a good airing out! Nothing looks cared for - no interest from management? I would not recommend this hotel - I don't need fancy but I do want clean and well cared for!

Overall this place is okay. They have extremely nice staff but hard to remember that when you are focused on the negatives. There was mold around the bathtub and stains on a lot of the lobby furniture. Also, biggest negative was not having guest laundry services available. The main pluses are the staff, comfortable bed, and great breakfast.

I have stayed in this hotel many times over the last 20 years. It used to be a Hampton Inn. We stay here because it's close to our relatives house and is clean, usually inexpensive and convenient. That's about it. The room was fine, comfortable beds. Bathroom- needs an upgrade - saw some mold, cracking ceiling. AC is good. Wifi is good. Breakfast average. This is a good,safe place to stay one or two nights if you have business in the local area. Management should do a better job examining every room critically to look at the deficiencies. I was ok with it, but many people would go elsewhere. Hope someone in management looks at this review.

The bedsheets were not clean (found black flakes of unknown substance between sheets and found hair in bed),desk and bathroom were not wiped down, bathroom had hair and a hair pin was left on sink. Went and purchased wipes to clean everything myself. Bedsheets that were taken off beds by the hotel staff when they brought clean ones were left by room door in hallway all night. Asked for extra towels in morning told "all towels in the dryer right now." Air conditioner had trouble cooling in the morning. Toilet seat was not attached. Would not recommended unless prepared to clean room yourself, bring your own extra towels and tools to do minor maintenance, and don't mind being in a warm room in the humidity of South Texas.

I'm here for three nights. Already unimpressed. This room is not clean. There is hair everywhere and it's all different colors so definitely not just the housekeeper's.... And pretty sure it's not just from people's heads. And dusty as heck. I found a clipped fingernail under my nightstand. Not sure when the last time this room was vacuumed. I work at a hotel and I would say that I have decently high standards when it comes to cleanliness. I'll admit that, but the level of dust and debris is gross. The hair I found in my bed is making me uncomfortable. There are also condensation rings and stains on almost every surface. Which is kind of gross. Your housekeepers should be wiping surfaces down with some sort of cleaning agent every time they do a full service. The property is very nice. The agent at the desk was very sweet and helpful. But I would highly recommend speaking with your housekeeping staff and training them on a full service cleaning.

Stayed for 2 nights. The front desk girls were very friendly. But the room needed a GOOD cleaning, floor not vacuumed and stained carpeting everywhere, mold in the shower, bathroom floor dirty, rust stains on the sheets. Won't stay here again no matter what the price is.

This hotel can accommodate large bus crowds. There were 2 buses loads of people staying here the same time I was here. Our rooms was large--we had 3 to our room; we were on the end of the third floor away from the elevator so it was quiet; this hotel recently just underwent a remodeling job; the chair in the room was comfortable; the TV was great; the WiFi was shared with the medical center and it was fast, reliable and always working; the bathroom was big; it did not have any marks in the tub for safety so if you have a tendency to fall, bring your own safety bath mat; the shower head was nice, but the knob to turn on the shower was really hard to use in our bathroom; there were never enough towels in the bathroom, but they always brought more when the front desk was called; the beds were comfortable; the pillows great; the air conditioner worked great in Room 300; the only complaint was the breakfast. You have to get down there early if you want your choice of food. With bus loads of people trying to eat at the same time, there is not enough seating to accommodate all the people. We took the food back to our room. There is always coffee available in the lobby. The staff is so very nice and helpful; a USA paper is given out to you each morning. I would stay here again if in the area.

This northwest side hotel is not far from anything. Good location, and downtown is only ten minutes away. Within a seven-mile radius, there are over 300 restaurants. My room had a nice bed, good toilet, good refrigerator, and a flexible shower setting. Problem was, there wasn't much walking space, as the dolly I used for loading and unloading barely fit through. The air-conditioning unit does not have an option to keep the air on all the time; it just stays in auto mode if I wanted it on. The remote control on the TV was missing from view upon my arrival, and I had to have my check-in lady get it for me. Speaking of checking in, it took about 10 minutes of waiting. One of her creepy-looking associates tried to assist while I waited for the check-in attendant to get out of the restroom. Nevertheless, the staff was very good and courteous throughout. And the ceilings were too short in the halls and at the entrances (at least, on the first floor, where my room was), so if you are over six and a half feet tall, I would not recommend this hotel for you. Overall, good visit, but could have been a little better.

We only stay at Best Western hotels and they never disappoint. This one is especially nice because it's near many medical facilities and they are very helpful and caring when you stay because of medical issues. My husband was at the VA Hospital and I was very stressed. They were so nice and helpful to me. My only complaint is that the room is on the small side and movement around the room was difficult for two people. Great location, great hotel, and wonderful staff. Really good breakfast, too. Awesome bed!

Traveling with our family we decided to spend a couple days in San Antonio to see the sights.....after more than a week on the road I was really looking forward to our hotel stay, and after reading pretty good reviews I thought it would be a relaxing stay. As soon as I entered the room I was disappointed....it is TINY and the layout is ridiculous! There is a mini fridge INSIDE a closet at the foot of the bed. If you open the closet to get into the fridge there is literally no room to stand so you have to maneuver sideways just to have access. The walkway between the bed and the TV cabinet is no more than 2 ft.... I am literally in tears because my hopes of a nice relaxing time are shattered. I feel like I'm in a trailer home....

I travel 26 weeks a year, and have just recently discovered BW PLUS brand. This is NOT your BW of the 70's-90's... The PLUS brand is a complete re-tool. Free lobby Coffee, (local) breakfast every am, and SOME locations have free beer/wine happy hour daily 5-7pm. Rooms are very modern, clean, simple, with a desk, lots of power plugs, free internet etc so a respectable business travelers hotel. The King Suite is like an apartment, full kitchen with 4 stool breakfast bar, dishes included. The normal King Rooms are a little tight on luggage storage if you don't hang stuff in the closet, but i prefer a large bed to open space. These rooms have coffee maker and small fridge, some have sm microwaves. This property...Best Western Plus Medical Center South, San Antonio TX; Great highway access, once you figure out the side streets...this is a surprisingly quiet property because it is set back away from 410 a block or two. Close to decent food, and big box shopping centers. Side street is quiet, parking is safe, and overall a great business value for this former Marriott Courtyard reguar

When we arrived at 3:45 the rooms were not ready. Then they gave us the room and the shower was leaking water, and the maids were on the floor still trying to get the rooms ready so we let them know, she told us oh yeah we know that is how its been. So we were like ok, its just wasting water she said it was fine. So we take my daughter to go swimming and OMG it was freezing, my body was actually went numb. So after the pool we went to the room we left to go shopping and we came back and the we went to bed at 4 am we called because the air was not working we called and they were we are totally booked so just move the temp, they did not even try to fix the problem. So we stayed up for a while and at 7 I called to see if we could get a late check out so my husband could sleep, and they did allowed us till 12pm, the air had gotten a lil better. So my husband could sleep we went down to eat the breakfast which was good no complaints and the staff was very helpful and nice. It was not a good experience to say the least.

Visited the city with children to visit the nearby family attractions. Stay was great, pool area is clean with spacious seating and tables. Children had a blast in the pool. The kids truly enjoyed breakfast, one of the staff members assisted them with making waffles, which they devoured in seconds. Full breakfast with great coffee. Our stay in the hotel was pleasant, quite and relaxing. Downside is the lack of vending machines in each floor (water bottles), vending items are available at the front desk in the first floor only.

Dirty bathmat in room, had grassy feet prints... no wash cloths - terrible realizing this when already in shower. Shampoo was already almost all used by previous guest... One bed missing a blanket. Terrible internet ...dropped every few minutes ..sometimes every few seconds. Literally minutes to load one page. Worst of all... rude staff: Without anyone asking..I walk into the breakfast line and the attendant comes out announcing, like she was in a bad mood, " Unless y'all want to eat the food raw, then y'all need to wait." I told her that what she said was rude. Everyone myself and other guest from hotel...patiently had walked into the line with out saying a word. She repeated..well it's true...if people can't wait then they can eat the food raw. Such a shame...the hotel is nice..but you know what they say about one bad apple. Well, in this case...maybe a few bad apples..since some didn't care to properly clean and prepare a clean room with towels for the next guest.

The exterior of the hotel looks a little worn and dated. We were pleasantly surprised at the more modern interior. The hotel was clean and comfortable. The room was nicely furnished and beds were very comfortable. The breakfast area was rather crowded and the staff was quite busy keeping a supply of items to choose from.

Had a very stress day traveling to San Antonio for a wedding and were running kind of late. Once we reached the hotel the clerk was very courteous helpful and expedited the check in. The staff also provide us with some items we had forgotten, they were able to get us some of the items.

This hotel offers great service with great staff - from the housekeepers to the front desk to the management. They were helpful and friendly. The rooms are nice and have recently been redone. I travel about 90% of the time on business and this hotel has been one of the best for their service and attentiveness.

This was a VERY nice hotel. I was a little hesitant knowing it had formerly been a Hampton Inn, but those fears were quickly laid to rest. This hotel appeared to have been remodeled from top to bottom, and very tastefully at that. Everything was spotless, and the interior gave off the impression of this hotel being brand new. I would highly recommend anyone staying in the San Antonio area to give this place a try.

"Good hotel, won't be staying again."

Our first time at a Best Western Plus, and while the stay wasn't bad, it will probably be the last time we stay at one....at least this particular one. The bed sheets had stains on them, the bathroom caulking looked like it had been redone by Ray Charles. Also, the room was way too small and cramped for 2 queen beds. And the worst of it all? Their breakfast area was way too small for the amount of guests that the hotel accommodates. I have never had to wait over 20 minutes on a line just to get breakfast at a hotel and then we had to eat in our rooms because there was nowhere to sit. That alone is why we will never stay there again.

"Crazy people on my floor"

There are crazy people living on my floor. They knock on doors and keep noisy till early morning. They do that the whole time I stayed there. I really didn't expect this in a 3-star hotel. I suggest avoid this hotel or live on the first floor. The breakfast is good though.

Used my Best Western points for this stay. Very easy to use them and there did not seem to be any restrictions on when I used them. Nice sized room with couch and chair. Hotel was quiet, even though near a freeway. The bed was so comfortable I went back to sleep so I did not have to leave it. Location is within a few minutes of excellent shopping.

Great Property with many updates. I enjoyed going to Sea World and returning from this property because I knew I was going to get a good nights sleep. Nice outdoor pool! The only thing that could have been better is the breakfast area needs to be bigger. Great stay over all!

Everyone decided to go to Sea World the same weekend as us and I had waited last minute to book our hotel. So everything was gone! I somehow managed to find this hotel for a really good price. I was pleasantly surprised. The room had recently been upgraded with everything new. The room was a little small but it was fine. The staff was super friendly and helpful. They also have an excellent breakfast included. My family loved it. Wish they would install extra waffle makers though to avoid having lines. Other than that we had a great stay!!

We booked this hotel without knowing anything about it or the area. I have to say it was well worth the stay. We usually stay in more expensive hotels thinking that cheap ones are nasty but this hotel was just as nice as the more expensive Hampton inn or la Quinta inn and suites! The bed was actually more comfortable than other hotels. The room was clean, smelled nice, and everything worked and was clean! The location was great and not in a rough spot of town. I would definitely stay here again!

The staff members were kind and the rates were fair. Breakfast was free and parking was free. The room was clean and modern although the bed was not very comfortable and the pillows were firm but that is a matter or preference. The hotel is located close to the interstate for easy access.

Stayed for 3 nights while seeing / visiting family. Rooms very spacious and well appointed. Fridge / micro but no safe ( used front desk safe ). Couch and wardrobe closet. Outdoor pool well maintained. Convenient to freeways and access to downtown. Would stay again if in the area.

The rooms are small and much too narrow. The wardrobe blocked the light from the window. I had to sit on the bed to open the drawers. Two people can't pass at the same time. The beds were quite nice and the bathroom was well designed with generous open shelves below the sink. Breakfast was crowded. The food serving area has only one way in and out and gridlock occurs. Eating tables were not cleaned off between each dining group. Food was adequate.

From the first greeting on the phone to the last moments of checkout...we experienced awesome employees and wonderful luxuries. The pool area is 2nd to none...large pool for a hotel. The rooms were clean and very nicely decorated. Absolutely, hands-down, the best pillow-top mattress I have ever used in a hotel. The staff members were very friendly and professional. They were there to help with all our needs, from finding things to do with the kids to making sure the coffee was fresh (thank you Ms. Rosa!)

Originally I though this was going to be a roach motel, because of the pictures I had seen on other websites, but I got a surprise. This was one of the best experiences and nicest hotels I have been too. I wish I had taken pictures, but I hope my word will help. I stayed in a king size bed, which was extremely comfortable. The room was a bit small, but it worked out for me. The bathroom was very nice. However, there was a stain on one of my towels. Everything else was very clean and precise. The front desk was extremely kind and helpful. Overall it was a very good experience and my next trip down to San Antonio I will be staying at this hotel.

The hotel itself is nice and has been updated. However, the room I stayed in had not outlets around the work desk where you need it the most. The other ones were utilized so you had very limited useful outlets. Coffee maker did not work and the faucet in the shower was not able to be completely turned and had a steady stream of water flowing.

This hotel was pretty decent. It was clean, updated and convenient. It is close to everything you'd need. 20 mins away from sea world. 20 mins away from the Alamo. Free full breakfast in the morning. It gets crowded so be sure to go down early. The double queen we were in was a little small but other than that I can't complain. The staff was very accommodating when we needed something. I'd go back.

Overlooked : Small rooms. Taking turns putting clothes into tiny tiny closet as it literally is at the foot of a bed. Overlooked: poor Housekeeping (we never ever ate inside hotel even free breakfast,).... especially hallways littered and stained carpets, but doubtful rooms were cleaned very well daily either. But passable. Overlooked: outside pool closed for cleaning the day of our arrival. Dealt with as one of those things: faucet in bathroom tub running (not drip) keeping floor wet close to tub with a part supposedly ordered but never fixed for entire 5 day stay (thinking it would be fixed at some point) or we would have taken another room. But will NOT overlook young male attending desk. My question to him was why the American flag wasn't lowered to half staff on this property, as was the case ALL over this Texas city. Huge huge flags lowered and this hotel's tiny one remained high the entire time. Five fallen police officers and others injured in Dallas at the beginning of our stay and all he does is shrug and turns his back to me? This was the straw for me. Paid higher than other accommodations in the area to this type of experience resulted in leaving a day earlier than planned from Lackland AFB graduation and unfortunately will never stay at another best western that possibly DO take care of these small details.

Hotel is adequate for the needs of most travelers to the medical center. However, room and common areas need deep cleaning. This appears to be a older facility (new BW under construction next door) and occupancy appears high preventing the heavier cleaning. Parking is severely limited due to construction creating difficulty for those who do not know Houston proper.

"Poor housekeeping"

The bathroom had mold on the wall and ceiling, toilet set was very loose and so was the support bar in the bathtub. Saturday morning around 8:30, the breakfast was very trashy with food all over the place. Plus, the room that we were staying in was close to their laundry room and you could always hear the laundry machines running. It was not a pleasant stay at all…

"Beautiful Hotel, tight room"

This was our first stay in a long time at a Best Western as we stopped using this hotel chain due to lower quality. This hotel changed our mind. It was very clean with a friendly staff. It was updated and modern. The breakfast was very good and the location was convent. Our only complaint was that the furniture and placement of it was a bit large and awkward for the room, making walking between the bed and dressers a bit tighter than we liked. If this is our only complaint, which it is, it is rather petty. But, if you have a wheelchair, stroller, or large luggage, this could be an issue for you, hence why I bring it up. The beds were very soft and the room was very clean. I would not hesitate recommending this brand and staying at other Best Western hotels.

I continue to come back to this hotel most of the time because the rates match the quality. Sometimes the rates are way too much which makes me look elsewhere but the staff & quality of the hotel are phenomenal. Clean, new, & pleasant hotel.

We stayed for 3 nights in June. Very friendly and helpful staff. Good location, just off 410 freeway, easy access to both Seaworld and Riverwalk. If you are going to both places during your stay in San Antonio, this location is great. Comfortable bed. Clean room. Breakfast is simple and adequate. It could get busy and full during peak breakfast hour. You may want to go a little early. One thing I found was the A/C unit was not getting the moisture out of the room and circulating the air enough. The room remained damp with a hint of smell.

Comfortable beds, good breakfast, room looked modern and nice. I would recommend this hotel to anyone. The hotel was mostly quiet outdoors and in. We weren't bothered by anyone. Good options for breakfast- waffles, eggs, sausage, oatmeal, bread/bagels/muffins, cereal and juice. Overall, was very satisfied with the experience.

The rooms are great, nicely decorated. Bathroom was small shower/tub was not new but good enough. I would rather pay around 75 dollars a night instead of 100 and up. Hot breakfast is included but the serving area is small and they had a packed house the time we visited. Almost better to pick up breakfast somewhere else. Overall it was a pleasant stay.

The hardest thing was finding the location. Apparently this is a newly acquired property so the instruction were not very good. Once I asked the right questions from the lady at the hotel it was easy to find. The room was very nice and clean. The breakfast was good and had eggs and other things besides Continental Breakfast Item. I was happy with my stay and the staff was very helpful.

"Not bad for the price!"

We stayed here from June 5 to the 9th, and it's not too bad for the price $$. There are some issues. The hallway carpets are stained. Black mold in tub. Only cleaned the room once during a 4 day stay, and are stingy with the soap. They did not restock some items at the free breakfast. The bananas were the same over ripe ones all 4 days. They did not restock the cinnamon raisin bagels. They did not restock the soy milk. If this place is going to be a 3 star hotel then they must be a notch above the others, and not restocking does not cut it! There is no hot tub either. The hot water is not hot enough if you like to take a bath, but okay for taking a shower only. For the price $$ it's okay.

Everything was great and the staff was friendly and helpful. Overall the hotel was kept up. The only problem we had is the maid didn't change our sheets as they were supposed to. We stayed for a week for business.

The exterior and ratings bely what is a really terrific hotel with easy access to the highway system. I stayed at this location more than once while relocating to San Antonio. From I entered the lobby I began to relax. It has been designed in the boutique style, with European style elements. My room overlooked the pool, and from the moment I opened the door I was pleased. The king size bed was a true king. The bed had a fabulous roll pillow that was great for sitting up on for back support. All amenities in the room worked well (fridge, microwave, and the 40+ inch HD TV!) The staff at the hotel were very engaging and accomodating. I voted Ms. Elizabeth "best breakfast" in the chain, and one of the best in the industry. Waffles, and a full breakfast were available every day. Stella, Marissa and the rest of the front desk management team were also accommodating, and worked with me when my favorite room was booked to place me on the same floor nearby. Housekeeping and Maintenance Team members were also terrific (kudos to Angel). The room was fully cleaned with fresh towels, soap, lotion,etc every single day. The parking at the location is at a premium out front, but there is also side parking. In closing, I want their decorator's phone number :)

I was placed in the corner room on the 5th floor on my first night. The AC unit was very noisy. I realized the next day that I had no internet access. I was told that out of the 17 access points my room was the farthest away.... REALLY why would any of your rooms not have access to the internet!! I was moved to another room ... it had a broken lamp, a toilet that ran constantly and the noise from the hallway kept me up all night. I noticed that there were pieces of candi on the floor in the restroom and in the corner by the lamp and chair. My old room was not cleaned either. My candi wrapper stayed on the floor for 2 days.

Although the exterior of the hotel seems in need of a facelift, our room was updated. I noted reviews that stated this property was recently remodeled and it was evident. The room was stylish but small; we had a room with two queens and it felt crowded. The beds comfortable and the bathroom was clean and fresh. However, the air conditioner was pretty noisy each time it kicked on; unfortunately it made more noise than what one could qualify as "white noise." Overall, it met our needs and I would stay again.

I was surprised to stay at a Best Western Plus because this brand hadn't been my favorite in the past. This hotel is newly remodeled and rooms look sharp. Bed was comfortable and room was clean. I'll mention Chris at the front desk as he was very professional and caring as I couldn't sleep one night so I worked in the dining area in the lobby for hours. Chris made my time enjoyable, offering me the TV remote, water and adjusting the room temperature to ensure I wasn't cold. I wish all front desk people were like Chris.

I stayed here on a trip to visit my husband at Lackland AFB. It was clean and the bed was extremely comfortable. The bathroom was a little bit more clean than the average hotel room, which was nice. My only issue was housekeeping. They claimed they were coming to clean my room a few times and didn't show up until after the agreed time. It was a little irritating because I only had a few days with my husband and wanted as much time as possible with him, but other than that it was great. Good internet. Fairly quiet. 15 mins. to the base tops. I recommend staying here!

Amazing how you pay for things and these people scheme you out of them. I depend on the hotel and it's internet connection (that I'm paying for) to be operational and functional for business. Here, it does not, they have wi-fi but to load a browser takes around 10 minutes, which is awful. The hallways and elevators are an absolute mess, I could only stay one night and cancelled my reservation. Best Western is one of the most dis honest hotel brands I'm finding out.

"Room Nightmares"

My party reserved three rooms for our stay in San Antonio. Two of the rooms were acceptable, but the third was not. Unfortunately that room was for a guest who has health issues. The two guests in those rooms were assigned to three rooms the first night. Problems ranged from dirty towels (possibly from the previous guests) in the mini refrigerator, sheets on one bed being dirty, and the bathroom not being clean (the tub and stool were dirty). The guest cleaned these items themselves with products borrowed from the hotel. Additionally a wallet containing money belonging to a guest from two weeks before was found in the room. Also the Do Not Disturb sign was not left on the door when the guests left in the morning; it was there when they returned in the evening and the room had not been serviced. The night front desk clerk manager was extremely apologetic and did everything she could to remedy the situation. The manager made a partial refund to my credit card, but after learning everything that had occurred, that was not enough. We drove 14 hours to the Best Western and then these guests spent another 4-5 hours changing rooms, cleaning, and finally getting settled early in the morning. I certainly hope this is not a common occurrence and is not indicative of the level of cleanliness Best Western allows to occur.

I stayed on this property for first time and the hotel was great. The service was outstanding and the location was convenient to everything in San Antonio. It was 20 minutes or less depending on traffic to downtown, Lackland AFB or anywhere you needed to go. The beds were comfortable and breakfast was big. They have a fitness center and business center as well. However, did not have opportunity to use them to give a review on it. The cleaning staff and cooking staff was also very busy and did good job.

We chose this motel because it has great rates and easy access to both the family member we were visiting and the airport. It is right off I-401. Actually getting to the motel was tricky because of road construction: trust your GPS and you will have no trouble! The staff is friendly and very helpful. The rooms are small but exceptionally clean and our first criteria: the beds are very comfortable! The included buffet breakfast is better than average – the 3 -minute do-it-yourself waffle is shaped like the state of Texas! We would definitely stay here again!

Room was a little small and "tight" for a family of 4. However it served our purpose well as we hardly were in the room. All things in room met our needs. Beds were comfortable, place was clean and nicely decorated. Liked having the mine fridge and microwave.

Typical mid-level hotel. Flatscreen TV, microwave, continental breakfast, etc. Rooms were clean but cramped. It feels like it was an older hotel with double beds which they upgraded to dual queens. Perfectly fine for sleeping, probably not the best if you want kiddos to have room to play in. No issues with cleanliness or rowdy neighbors. Would stay here again

When I walked in the hotel there was no one in the front desk. I waited a little more than 5 minutes then I ran the bell, the staff member that came out was very rude, she made me feel very unwelcome to the hotel. I knew I was most likely not checking in early but she made it very clear that there was absolutely no rooms available not even a minute before 3. I came back later and it was a different staff member that ended up checking me in. The hotel was in a good location also very nice and clean. The room was a great size with a good view to the pool. The fitness center was open 24/7 which was very wonderful. The staff member that checked me out helped clear up some problems with my bill and was very nice about it.

We stayed here for three nights. Our room had a nice King bed, a couch, armoire, desk, dresser, and flat screen tv. The bed was very comfortable. The bathroom door did not have a latch. Also, the A/C unit was broken causing the room to be humid majority of our stay. The hotel recently went under a renovation, making it appealing to the eye. Complimentary breakfast was also nice.

I came down from SC with my family for my brother's Air Force graduation. This hotel was in only 10 mins away from the base. The hotel is upgraded to the modern style of hotels. Everything looks new. Breakfast was great all three mornings no complaints. The color and decor is upscale. The only problem with my stay was when I checked in the bathroom tub looked as if it was not cleaned. There was hair in the tub and on the walls of the tub which was slightly gross. I cleaned it myself I didn't have time to complain plus housekeeping was already gone for the night. I would recommend this hotel and will actually stay again if I came back to visit San Antonio.

There isn't really anything we didn't like. Everything from check in to checkout was satisfactory. The rooms are amazing, very clean and trendy. It almost felt like it was a brand new hotel. The breakfast was as we expected, filling and we'll presented. If you are in this area this should be your top choice.

The A/C was not working and only made a terrible high pitched sound. The outside pool has a flag pole that keeps making a crazy bell sound. The toilet is broken and keeps running water down. The woman at the front desk was not empathic, she rudely wrote my complains in a piece of paper, and told me to "come back in an hour" because she was in a conference call! There's no one else to complain with.

This is the best Motel/Hotel for the money in San Antonio ! Recently changed from Baymont to Best Western AND another remodel. New furniture, new beds, new carpet, new paint. It's great ! The breakfast has been upgraded. Scrambled eggs, sausage, bacon, waffles, orange juice, bananas, toast, muffins, etc. Ask for the manager, Stella. She will take care of every need ! ??

"Just an "ok" experience"

Clean. Wonderful friendly staff. Many pillows to choose from. Various blankets to choose from. >Not so great... Rooms were quite "tight". Not much room between foot of beds and furniture across from them. Bathrooms were nice and well-stocked including shampoo, body lotion, soaps etc. >Not so great... Our housekeeper often replaced used items with only one replacement. There were two of us. >Not so great... We didn't seem to have a vent fan in our bathroom. >Breakfast was frequently disappointing. No fruit our first day. Ran out second day. Refried beans the next day. This was just an "ok" place in my estimation.

This hotel has just been remodeled, so the ambiance and environment is excellent. The breakfast, however, left a lot to be desired. Quantity and quality were definitely lacking, as well as cleanliness. The breakfast definitely soured our experience with this BW. Really a surprise because we are loyal customers, rarely staying anywhere else. The evaluations below include the breakfast experience.

We enjoyed our two-night stay very much. The free breakfast was a nice spread, the king bed was quite comfortable, everything worked and the staff was friendly. Near restaurants, groceries and easy drive to the hill country. We would stay again!

Stayed here for a business trip. Definitely would recommend staying here to any one! Right off the freeway, but where my room was located there was no freeway noise. Updated rooms and decor and bed was extremely comfortable!!

After reading some of the reviews on this site, I was very pleased with this hotel. Everything was clean, the staff was great, no bugs, housekeeping was practically invisible, no noise, and I was there through New Years Eve. Very impressed with the staff and service. Breakfast was a little slow on set up, but in their defense, I was there early. I would definitely stay again. Convenient for airport and Lackland AFB.

Nice place nearing completion of renovatrion into Best Western. Clean, new paint, carpeting, etc. Only negative was wireless in room was strong, but too slow to be of any use. Breakfast was being renovated during our stay.

Was an ok stay. The manager was a bit rude but the staff members were very helpful at the front desk. Breakfast left something to be desired. The host was late and there was no hot food put out other than waffles.

By far the best hotel I have stayed in this year... will be planning another trip and this is where I will be staying. Staff was amazing and very helpful and the rooms were clean and very neat. Overall the property and management was great couldn't ask for a better experience than what I recieved.

My son and I were in town for the weekend and found this hotel. It was close to the I-410 with easy on and off. While the room was very clean, they were a bit small but it was fine as it was just two of us. The breakfast was ok. They could have had more options and the lady watching the breakfast flow didn't want to refill the water but it was good. Front desk reception was awesome. Super easy check in and check out! Hotel was quiet and close to restaurants. Great parking lot as there was only one way in and out. Would definitely stay again when in San Antonio.
