Best Western Plus The Charles Hotel

One of the best hotels we've stayed in. Check in was quick and personable. Quiet motel, spacious rooms, comfortable beds, very clean. very well lit. Always felt safe. Breakfast was excellent = great variety and menu posted every day. Tasty cookies offered in the evenings. Indoor pool sheltered from the elements. Convenient to St Louis, restaurants & downtown St Charles.

This hotel was very well maintained with a wonderful, attentive staff. The pool is large and breakfast is good (hash browns exceptionally good). The room was spacious (beds not really close to the walls). The beds were very comfortable and the hotel was very quiet despite being close to the highway. Easy to access the expressway and downtown area. The Front Desk personnel were very helpful. The coffeemaker took Kcups, a microwave was in the room and the refrigerator was a larger size than most other hotels. Highly recommend for its great value.

The staff was great the only issue was the bathroom toilet was way to low to the ground lol and it felt like u were falling to the floor to use the rest room but other then that it was great I will definitely use this place in the future

The hotel was nice and clean. The staff was friendly and courteous. Room was very nice for the price. Didn't get a chance to enjoy breakfast due to not open til 7am on weekends and I had to go to work. Would definitely recommend opening breakfast same time everyday 6am.

I think we've decided to not book Best Western if there are other comparable choices. We really should have requested a different room but we were focused on checking in and meeting a friend for dinner. The room had a strong air freshner smell. When we got back much later in the evening I noticed what I assume to several pet pee areas, which would explain the strong smell. The toilet was ridiculously low, for people with mobility issue it would definitely have been a problem. The tops of the tables and night stands were not fully wiped. It was also very noisy, you can easily hear people in the hallway as well as the outside traffic noise. The best we did was couple hours of sleep. The breakfast had a nice selection and was good. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

Room was clean and quiet. Staff was friendly and professional. Great hotel for the price. The hotel has a great location with lots of restaurants in walking or driving distance. Overall great experience

This in an older property kept in good condition. Hotel is clean with friendly staff. Excellent daily breakfast. Excellent location in St. Charles and close to everything. Downside: The furniture inside the rooms (i.e chairs, desk, etc) are very old and needs to be replaced.

Hotel was very clean and nice. Their breakfast has a lot of options and is very good. The beds were clean and neatly made. There are plenty of restaurants and other activities to do right next to the hotel.

We stay here often. We always have a wonderful experience. The staff is great and the hotel is always clean. They have the best breakfast. Location is convenient to so much and the common areas and rooms are always clean.

We enjoyed our two night stay at this location it was simply wonderful from start to finish! Our room and the service was exceptional and we felt like we were home away from home. We would definitely recommend this location as an excellent place to stay.

I love staying here when in town. The local restaurants are great and well worth visiting and trying new things. I frequent the local shopping center almost every visit when I'm in town Gabe's, Basspro, 5.11 , Duluth and The Dungaree store it's always nice to see what they have and to check out the sales.

Spent over $427.00 for a room for two nights that did not have a workable shower. Was denied reduction in room rate. They tried to move me to a room that wreaked of marijuana smoke. My sister's room flooded with water flowing from ceiling onto her belongings. Black stuff came up from my daughter's sink.

Conveniently located in St Charles. Good sized room. Comfortable and clean. Refrigerator with a freezer compartment that worked well. Room was quiet. Breakfast had scrambled eggs, sausage, pancakes, tortillas, hot sauce, ham, yogurt, apples, oranges, four types of juice, hot coffee or hot water for tea and instant oatmeal. Also bread and sweet rolls and cereal choices. The morning dining room worker kept everything restocked quickly and tables cleaned off. The desk attendant helped me sign up for the newest promotion from BW before we checked in. We enjoyed our stay and plan to stay here again this year.

It wasn't a bad place. The room was comfortable. There was quite a bit of road noise. The location was not as good as others. The bed was soft and lots of pillows. The service was a little city for me. I like the friendliness in the western US.

Amazing stay for the value. Will definitely stay here again, and highly recommend. The clerks at the desk are always friendly and accommodating! Breakfast is always good and rooms are clean. Excellent location close to plenty of dinner choices.

I stayed 11 nights at this Hotel. It was well priced for the area. Rooms are a good size and in general facilities are good at the hotel. Hotel is well located near supermarket and restaurants and other shops. The breakfast was good however found breakfast host rude at times however to be fair sometimes she was just to busy on her own. Coffee at reception is good. Things to be aware of rooms are not cleaned Dailey which is not a problem but my room were only cleaned twice during my stay. Rubbish is put out of your room as needed ( something I did not know as rooms are serviced frequently.) some of my replacement towels had marks on them so not fully cleaned. I did however notice on the night before my last day that one wall was wet and the carpet also wet. I did advise reception. It was not the aircon as that is on a seperate wall. I wondered why my clothes were a bit damp a few days earlier. Reception did not seem to bothered by this. I am visiting the area frequently so will stay again hopefully.

Horrible. Carpet was moist throughout the room with a clear wet spot in the middle. Socks become wet after a short time along with everything else left on the floor. Attempted to change rooms, but was informed that it is an older brick building and all rooms will have wet carpets. Most have been mold growing under there. Terrible. Got out as soon as possible

Rooms were filthy smelled like paint and bug spray in the entire place. Moved to a different room staff at front desk was very rude. Pool key did not work staff was inconvenienced by having to let us in.

My room was clean, smelled fresh and adequately stocked. The gentleman who checked me in was very personable and helpful. Breakfast offered a wide variety of choices. I don't understand the negative reviews I read as this was definitely not my experience.

Room was damp,humid,stunk and cold. Bed was damp. Floors were damp and room smelled musty! Did move to another room. Still was damp. Definitely had a moisture problem! There was broken glass found by the pool area. We were there for a wedding with family and they did not give us rooms together.

This stay was a literal nightmare. The rooms had 100% humidity. The staff played it off but online I found they had a sprinkler pipe burst a month earlier and you can tell the rooms were never dried out. Everything you touched was wet include the saturated carpet. The staff was really rude and uninterested in helping. They had a sign stating to run ac at all time to help but that just made the rooms cold and wet. My family literally had to huddle to together in bed just to stay warm. There was black mold beginning to grow in the rooms from the dampness. It was worse than tent camping. The worst part is it wasn't even the cheapest hotel in the area but it sure was the worst.

Stayed at this BW all but one time when I travel to Saint Charles. Always friendly service and rooms are clean and well cared for. Pool looked inviting, but by the time we made it to the hotel after visiting family, we didn't get to enjoy it. Wifi worked well during the day, but in the evening it bogged down some, I assume because of more users. Overlaa we have never had any issues staying at this location.

Staff went above and beyond to help my special needs. Overall great value, central location, NO BUGS, comfortable bed. The amenities were appropriate, pool was clean and good temperature. The outside patio was too close to pool door, allowing smoke to enter—not the hotels fault—some inconsiderate guests would not move to other available seats away from pool entrance. I definitely will be back.

The Best Western Plus St. Charles is a comfortable, clean, minimal frills hotel. The location is super convenient, just across the Missouri River from St. Louis off I-70 - less than 10 minutes to St. Louis Music Park at Hollywood Casino for a concert. The rooms are relatively basic - plenty of pillows, in-room safe, free standing closet, microwave, mini fridge (with REAL freezer compartment!). The bathroom was clean - the set up is a bit awkward but I see they were trying to maximize the space they had. The wall A/C was a bit hit or miss (as most of these units tend to be) - definitely didn't keep the room a steady temp but did a good job of cooling things down. The laundry facilities and business center were out of service during our stay but they did have crews there working (yes, there was a bit of noise during the day from this). Yes, the hotel is a little dated - she could use some sprucing up - but the facilities that are offered are tidy and more than adequate. The pool was nice and had generous hours of operation. The lobby offered cookies and a 24 hour coffee/tea machine (so nice!). But the absolute BEST part of this hotel is the free, hot breakfast. It varied a little from day to day, but they offered eggs, bacon, sausage, biscuits and gravy, waffles, cereal, toast/bagels, yogurt, oatmeal, breakfast burrito station, and probably even more we didn't even get to. It was delicious and a great added perk - especially for the very affordable price of the room.

Great price and you get your moneys worth. The other hotels in the area do not compare. I was relieved to find best western after staying at other hotels that charge more and didn't come close in comparison

I made my reservation with this hotel six months ahead of an event in St. Charles at this hotel. There was a 3-night package offered and I wanted to stay one night earlier for a total 4 nights. I had a heck of a time getting the reservation agent at the hotel understand that I wanted to stay four nights. She gave me a confirmation for a one night stay and another confirmation for the three night stay. When I checked into the hotel, the desk clerk assured me that she would take care of it. On the second day I received a voice mail that my luggage was being removed from my room. I was able to get a gentleman on the phone at the front desk after a long wait on hold to make sure that my luggage was still in my room for the rest of my stay. My room was not serviced by housekeeping for my entire stay. This hotel is located near the freeway and many attractions. The breakfast lady was outstanding. The ice machines were only located on odd numbered floors. I would think twice about staying at this hotel again, as there are numerous other choices in the area.

Staff was extremely rude, from the general manager on down. They used profanity and didn't try to help or resolve your problems. We had to change rooms 3 times, was told that our we would be charged a lower rate for our entire stay, that didn't happen. The tub in my last room didn't drain and the toilet was clogged up. I had to call 3 times for them to send someone to fix the issues. The maintenance man let the water from the plunger drip on the floor and carpet. I had to tell him to leave the room with that plunger dripping all over the floor. The front that staff got rude with my sister, because she questioned her room charges, all three rooms had a different charges. One of the maintenance men started in on my sister also. When my sister popped off back, staff called the police on her.

We had a fantastic stay! One of the best we've encountered in awhile. The complimentary breakfast was 5 STAR! Unlike any hotel breakfast we've ever had. Every staff member was courteous and accommodating! Customer Service is hard to come by these days but not at BW Plus!

Very clean, safe, and convenient to many kinds of stores/shopping centers/restaurants. Staff & housekeepers are very attentive & welcoming. Super comfy rooms & free Breakfast goes above & beyond amazing and having a pool was fantastic! I Would recommend to anyone staying in the area!

We stayed at this location for an extended period and cant brag enough about it! Tje staff were amazing, rooms & grounds very clean and amenities were fabulous! Sara exceeded beyond expectations and all staff were exceptional! Felt very safe with my young children here! Breakfast was awesome with so many 'hot meal' options as well as grab n go selections. Impressive property!

Stayed for one night while passing through the area. I traveled with two dogs. This is an old hotel but the staff was very friendly, and the place was clean, breakfast was very good with a lot of selection and the warmers kept the food hot. The breakfast potatoes were really good. I wish the pet room we had did not have a bedskirt and carpet, but we made it work. There are soooo many restaurants nearby, some within walking distance. I would stay here again.

The rooms were clean. Breakfast was great! One of the best I've had in a long time at a hotel. Convenient location. The staff was friendly and very helpful. We will be back next time we visit in the STL atea!

Upon check-in, we went up to our room, unlocked the door, only to find another group of people were in that room. We went down to the front desk and they said "no-one should have been in that room." After quickly being given another room we were laying down to go to sleep and heard our door open. Someone walked in and quickly realized that we were in the room. This is wildly unsafe, unprofessional and outright disgusting. I am not happy, and do not plan to stay here again.

If you only need a place to sleep, this is a good value. The positives include spacious , clean and quiet rooms, very good LOBBY coffee machine, and close to many eateries and shops.The staff is polite but do not extend themselves. No diamond member recognition. There are any workmen/ janitors on site yet the elevators are pretty grungy. Inconsistent availability of luggage carts. The toilets are low , take caution as you sit. There is a safety bar in the shower which impressed me. Breakfast was only fair. Coffee in the breakfast room is awful: use the lobby machine. The wi-fi is lousy.

This was one of the only hotels under $100/night with a working pool. You get (less) than what you pay for. Unclean. Poorly managed. Check mattresses (blood under ours). Exterior doors unlocked/open all night. Will not stay here again.

My best friend and I went to St Charles for the Christmas festivities and since I had stayed at the Best Western Plus earlier this year, we chose to stay once again. The hotel and staff are amazing. There is easy access to the main road and interstate. The breakfast food was hot and fresh and all the comfort foods of home.

The title pretty much says it all. There was a roach on the wall. I took a picture of it. I showed the person at the front desk and asked for a refund. He said he could not issue a refund and there is no manager on duty. I took the GM's business card and checked out. I contacted the GM via email immediately and I heard from her the following day. She said that they would need to bring in their bug guy and if they're bad guy deemed an infestation then we would get our money back. I responded with my proof and she has not gotten back to me at all. The whole reason that we went to the hotel was that we have no plumbing in our house currently and we are trying to find a break from the chaos. The stay at best Western actually made our lives a lot more difficult as we had to leave with her seven month old baby in the middle of the night.

The staff were very nice. Check in was quick, parking was good. We stayed on the third floor,room was quiet, clean, beds comfortable. The only suggestion I could make is a bigger nightstand with more plug-ins for those of us that have c-pap machines. Breakfast was awsome!

I have stayed at the hotel before and this would make it likely that I never return. The problem started with booking the reservation. When booking, I was told I couldn't book more than one night using points. Prior to this trip my fiancé had 60k points, which is more than enough to pay for two nights. The rep said he could only book one night. So we booked one night with points and the second night with a credit card. (Granted this has nothing to do with the actual hotel.) My sister is a GM at a BW and she told me that as long as we have points, I can book as many one night stays I want. I went to the front desk and told them the situation and was told that I had to call back after 11pm when the manager was in. I called at 11:30pm and was told that I had to wait until after 7am to call customer service. I called BW customer service and was told the the hotel had to cancel the reservation. My fiancé called to cancel since he made the reservation and he was told another night was booked with points and they would cancel the original reservation booked with a credit card. They took his card to put on hold. My fiancé called BW and was told he only had 8k points remaining. After the second night stay, my daughter and I were getting ready to check out. my fiancé was sure he had points removed from his rewards account. I get my statement and my card (from the first reservation) was charged. I went to the front desk to ask about it. I wanted to make sure we weren't being charged double. The young lady working at the front said that the first night was booked with points, the second night was booked with a card, and the third night was booked with points. At that point we told her that we were only staying for two nights. She went and got her manager. The blonde haired manger (in case there's more than one) was the rudest person I have ever dealt with!!! She was rude and unprofessional, and unfit for the job/title. She came out with an attitude. I calmly explained to her the situation. She abruptly cut me off and stated “two nights were paid with points and one with the card.” My daughter asked her “we were told one night was paid with points.” That's when the manager back-peddled and said “Oh yeah. One night. That's what I meant.” I asked for proof of cancellation and the manager told us they can't print it, it's only for their records. I asked for proof of the nights that we stayed. I was printed the same receipt twice. Both of them were for the credit card charged and neither for the one booked with points. I think maybe they are understaffed. The young woman that was there the night we checked out had been there overnight and was still there when we checked out at nine. Being understaffed is no excuse for being rude. The toilet was low and comfortable if you are 5'5” or shorter. The water pressure for the shower was alright. Probably would have been better if the shower head sprayed more water on my body than on the floor. The housekeeping needs more attention to detail. My comforter and sheet had a giant stain on it. When I called the front desk to ask for it to be changed, they left a set of sheets downstairs and I had to change it myself. On the plus side: the beds were comfortable and the room had a fridge, microwave, and single serve Keurig. The breakfast was great. They offered a good variety of food and the people working the breakfast room were pleasant to guests. There is adequate parking. The location is next to Ameristar casino and located right off 70. It took about 15-20 min in light traffic to get to the airport. In closing, this stay was extremely disappointing. The staff needs to be properly trained in more in depths situations so guests aren't given the run around and told to come back when AM shift is there because they deal with “those kinds of situations” more often. I used to clean rooms for BW for several years. I have had to deal with rude and unruly customers and that's why I tend to try to be more understanding. But this experience was a complete disaster.

First room given had a lot of debris in the tub from a backed up system? Not sure of the reason but given a different room. The second room was near the elevator and noisy and all of the room doors slam when people pass through which makes it difficult to sleep. After driving 14 hours, sleep was needed but not had. 6:30 am the next morning and trying to leave and no coffee cups in the lobby and the staff couldn't find them so we left without coffee and bought some at gas station next door. We will not stay here again when we drive I-70 which is quite frequent.

great hotel and very close to Ameristar casino and a lot less than the casino hotel too. just be sure to check the website for rates because the walk up rate is more than the website. the website saved me about $20 off the rate.

This is a great hotel at a great location in St. Charles. The room is quite clean and beds were really comfortable. The bedsheet and comforters were very clean. We really liked the breakfast spread since there were "real" food there--scrambled eggs, breakfast sausage, biscuits, gravy. There were chocolate milk, vegetable drink, yogurt, cup fruits. There were high quality tea bags--I was surprised to find Earl Grey since I am avid tea drinker. I think the place is being renovated. This is also a very kid friendly place. I saw many families with kind. A safe place with several eating places next to it. Even the room condition was great, there was a problem with the toilet but maintenance took care of it immidiatley. I will stay here again.

We loved it. We like Best Westerns because they often feel like they have a personal touch, like the owner(s) and staff are truly proud of their property. That is the vibe we got at The Charles. The property was clean and well maintained. The staff was friendly and welcoming. The lobby was decorated for the holidays, which made it feel very warm and inviting. They have a great breakfast with many options. You won't start your day hungry. The pool area was great, with the water being just the right temperature. Our room was clean and slightly larger than an average hotel room. Recommended.

This was a very pleasant experience. Hotel is within walking distance of restaurants and shoopping staff is very friendly and attentive. Breakfast service was very good. Rooms are very comfortable abd everything works. Close to downtown St Charles which has a lot of shops and dining options

Not worth the price we paid. Well below expectations of what Best Western Plus is supposed to be. Make some changes to accommodate the Guests. Crumbs in the room behind the door, by the AC Unit and Refrigerator area when we arrived. Asked if they would service our room the next day to vacuum and clean...they didn't do it.

20 min after arrival we had to be moved rooms for the heat didn't work. The desk seemed frustrated that I wanted a maintenance man or to move rooms…Our next room, the water didn't drain in the tub and the water pressure was awful. Then the second day the heat went out of this room. Upon going discuss it with the young lady at the desk, she was napping at the desk and on the main level wall next to the elevator there were roaches climbing the wall and elevator. We had heard other guests complaining but we assumed they weren't sure of the type of insect they had in countered, but out of sight out of mind… but then I saw them for myself and on top of all other issues, I refused to stay another night.

This is a good hotel to stay at in St. Charles. I was there on a business trip and it met my needs ok. I just needed a room for the night and a good breakfast. I didn't use the pool but it looked ok. The front desk staff was polite and efficient.

The room was decent and the breakfast was good. The only negative part about my stay was the room keys. Almost every time I would return to my room in the evening, my room keys wouldn't work. I would have to go back down to the front desk and get the keys re-activated or get a new one. I should mention that I did keep my room keys away from my phone and away from something magnetic.

The young lady who checked me in was so sweet! The breakfast provided was awesome, so much food and very well cared for by the staff. Room on the other hand was not up to par on cleanliness. Housekeeping was lacking with smudged mirrors, hairs left behind, as well as previous guest's wet towels. Still a good stay and enjoyed it.

By far the nastiest hotel we have ever booked there were cockroaches everywhere the mattresses look like they have not been replaced in 40 years the rooms only had hot water and were very extremely hot in the rooms the air conditioning was not working the staff was rude and the showers did not drain

Only stayed one night on our way to salina, KS; however, it was very clean, nice staff and would definitely stay again if in the area. Wanted a room on the other side of St Louis after driving from Pittsburgh. It fit the bill perfectly!

We liked staying here due to the location and the great customer service we received. The hotel is literally across the street from the casino but recommend you drive. If you go back over the bridge you will find the Hollywood casino which is much newer and the slots loser. They have self service laundry which was great for we were on a 2 wk road trip. The breakfast was very good and had plenty of items to choose from. The carpet is old but other than that we would stay here again.

Walked in thinking had a reservation through Hotels Tonight, when the reservation didn't process the desk clerk Melissa offered us a room at a cheaper rate and immediate availability. After flying for almost 28 hours it was a Godsend.

Hotel had a funky smell when entering. Front desk manager was absent for nearly 20 min. When she did finally show we had a reservation mistake and she rudely told us she couldn't help. We took care of our problem ourselves over the phone. Horrible customer service. Already not having a good experience we walk into our room and it gets worse. The room smelt like mildew. Worse than leaving clothes in the wash for 3 days. It was terrible. I will never stay at any Best Western brand ever again!

This location is old, dirty and in desperate need of renovations! The ice machine was broken. The safe in my room had to be repaired. The tub was filthy. Breakfast was adequate. The staff was not attentive.

This place was so gross. It had a black ring around the tub. The whole room had an awful odor as well as the hallways. The room had dust along the outer edge of the room all the way around. Nothing was clean. Tables in room were sticky! The frig was not cold and didn't get cold. Horrible experience and will never stay here again! Was very scared to lay underneath the covers. NOTHING was clean!

Excellent location, there's a trolley pick up in the shopping center next to to hotel that will take you to the adorable little "downtown" section of St. Charles. The room was clean, plenty of pillows, staff was kind and helpful and the continental breakfast was well appointed. The pool has a grill to use and and outside patio area.

This is one of those stays you just walk out going. I can't believe that just happened to me! My husband and I with our children along with some friends. Checked into this hotel for six nights. We reserved six rooms for our group. As we arrived late that evening the first concerning thing is the group of drug users gathered outside on the ground. These would be present most evenings during our say. One night it was a man with only his underwear on and was obviously very high. With small children this was disturbing. We parked in the free parking lot there is an EV Charger if you have an electric car not sure if it works we were not in the Tesla this trip. Check in was smooth the young lady was very friendly. As we entered the elevator we were welcomed by an extremely stale odor and carpet squares coming unpeeled. During the six days we stayed the elevators were not cleaned. The halls are not as filthy as the elevator. The room my husband and I stayed in had obviously been smoked in heavily. We called and ask for someone to come help with the odor. The Maintence man was up within 15 min and sprayed some air freshener he was a very kind man, It helped for about 30 min. We went to the store and purchased air fresheners and candles so our clothing would not smell like a 1978 pool hall. The room had dark stains in the carpet you can see the pictures. The overall feeling of cleanliness was five on a 1-10. The bathroom was surface cleaned the tile grout was dirty and in need of a good deep cleaning. There was no hand, face/body soap or hand sanitizer. There was a very small bottle of shampoo and conditioner that we later learned is what they expected us to us for 6 days with our family. The pillows were very well used, the overal feeling is dated, the rooms have a musty smell that could be solved with a good steam cleaning of the carpets and curtains. The breakfast is a standard breakfast at a 2.5/3 star hotel with the exception of powdered eggs, bacon, biscuit and gravy. So a bit nicer than say an IHG 2.5 star property. On day four of our stay our trash was over flowing, our sheets were no longer fresh, we had no towels and our rooms had not been serviced. After bringing this to the attention of the front desk we were informed they would not be serving our rooms because of COVID. None of the staff is mask, non of the rooms provide hand sanitation, there are no “keep six feet” signs. So they obviously are not concerned about covid. This is another business using the pandemic as an excuse to not hire staff and cushion their margins. We ask if we would check out and back in so that we could have our room serviced. Front desk called the general manager who told us that our room would be given away. We expressed my concern and dissatisfaction and was told there was nothing they would be willing to do. My husband proceeded to leave a review on trip advisor with 2 stars. The experience was a 2 star experience and I told him i felt he was being to generous. Having stayed in hotel rooms in all 50 states, every western European country, Asian, and the Middle East, living in hotels an average of 1/3 nights of the year we are all very familiar with a quality hotel experience. Day five we returned to the room around 1am with our family and were falling asleep around 2am. While in a deep sleep around 7 something in the morning our phone rings and it's the general manager. We were being summoned to her office. The tone of voice and attitude would be that of your Elementary school principle. Of course, that's not the wake up call you want after you've only slept for 5 hours and you have a 16 hour drive ahead of you. After we packed and prepared to leave my husband goes down stairs and meets with the gen manager. Entering the general managers office is a clear indication of the origination of the smoke smell and why it's not being addressed. It's stale and horrible. The floors are filthy and the entire office is unorganized. The general manager proceeded to berate and belittle us for having the audacity to leave an “untrue” review. There was no apology, no questions on how we could work together to make it right. I understand that problems this big will take time and a simple. “I'am so sorry you had a bad experience we will be working on the issues you stated” Would have been appropriate. After being belittled, chastised and called a liar the gen manager was ask if she would admit there were some things they did wrong. Her reply: “I will not, we did nothing wrong” lol incredible! Probably the absolute worst customer service experience from upper level management leader ever experienced. After being told we could leave reviews from each room and each person in each room she was completely belligerent. My advice; Never stay here, avoid at all cost. Sleep in your car, or on the bench with the homeless people outside the hotel. If you are called into the general managers office for your “punishment” bring your phone with the video on. ;) To the extremely rude Gen Manger: You seem to have a good staff willing to help. When a customer gives you honest feedback don't defend yourself thank them for being honest as they try and help you run a great place. Dont' assume everyone is against you. I don't want anything free, i just want you to get your hotel clean and running great. My family lives in St Charles and St. Peter and we stay in that area often. Dont' call a customer at anytime in their room before 10am. It's more professional to leave a note under their door. Your first words when dealing with a frustrated guest should be “I'm so sorry about your experience and I'm here to see how we can work together to make this hotel a more welcoming place” Don't lie, and NEVER call the guest a liar. LOL LOL. If you are going to run a 1star hotel that's the type of clientele you will attract and you should expect that. Clean your office up, replace the carpet, get the smoke smell out of the room. Stop smoking in your office area, open up some windows, get some fresh air in there. Armotec is an air diffuser company that can help you with wonderful smells in your lobby, halls and public areas. It blows through the HVAC system. It's what we use at nicer places. Offer to cover the expenses of our air fresheners and apologize again. Offer a discounted rate when we return so we can leave an updated review on the improvement. To the owner: 1) Fire the General Manager. It's really your only option i don't see her receiving this. 2) hire more cleaning staff 3) if your margins are that bad raise prices 10-15% to cover some payroll.

We are currently staying here been here for four nights. There are to many other nice options this shouldn't be considered. Room smells like smoke, they spray deo and it does nothing. Spent $15 buying febreez helps a little but not much. Rooms are muggy and moldy. Pillows are lumpy. On top of all that, they don't clean your rooms! No room service they are still using COVID as an excuse not to provide service. They don't wear mask, there is no sanitizer and I don't care but they obviously are not worried about COVID. This is then not wanting to hire and pay staff and provide junk service. The rates have not gone down they've gone up. It's so sad that hotels are doing this. Not all are though… let's not patronize businesses that take advantage of pandemics and then provide awful service. It is a decent place for one night if you can't find any other place but avoid and find yourself a place that will provide “hotel” services for the price you pay. Another option would be AIRBNB since you're having to be your own house keeper anyway.

The hotel had an odor when first walking in. The staff member was nice. The room had an odor as well. Everything seemed ok. It was a little outdated, but ok, it's fine. The tv was outdated, was not able to use my Roku/FireStick. The remote was weird, half worked. And the worst thing of all, there was a roach. I packed up my things and left.

I found everything to be clean and the staff was great. Good location and good breakfast. Toilets are short but some people are tall. All in all I have no regrets but of course I don't nitpick. Just needed a place o lay my head. I wouldn't hesite to come back. In fact I'm booking again for later in the week as I will be coming and going from my job area.

It was fine. It was a convenient stay to get to the Hollywood amphitheater for a concert. The room was overall pretty clean, I will say it was a little musky and damp feeling. They had the typically hot breakfast. I would stay here again if going to the venue.

Yeah definitely would not come here again, it was not cleaned. & there was a yellow stain on my bed sheets & the room had a musty smell. i was not impressed at all. had a hard time sleeping here. the door to the room also didn't feel very heavy like someone could get in.

The property is extremely quiet which is surprising given that it is so conveniently located near the interstate. The room was clean.. The bed was very comfortable and the breakfast was great. I would definitely stay here again.

The staff was very friendly and helpful - this made our stay quite enjoyable! Breakfast was excellent and well stocked. Our room was nice, bed was comfortable and there was a large fridge. This hotel is close to shopping and historic St. Charles downtown.

I stayed in this Hotel prior to departing on the KATY Trail for a weeklong bicycle ride. It served both as a night-before stay and also a morning meeting place for our tour group. I was able to visit tourist sites in nearby St. Louis conveniently as well. I decided to stay there one night on the return end of our trip as well. It is both clean and affordable with a pool, hot breakfast and small amenities such as drinks/snacks/toiletries.

The room was not clean, there was hair and dirt all over our bathroom, the carpets were not vacuumed well, it had stains all over the floors and walls. Our comforter had holes in it. The whole room was covered in dust and had a musty oder to the room. The fridge was broken and filthy inside. They replaced the fridge, but even the new fridge was dirty inside. We were supposed to stay 2 nights, but left after the first night because we were sick from all the dust and smells of the room.

This location was very convenient to the places we were going easy to get in and out of. It was very clean with lots of places to eat close by. If you like to gamble the Casino was just across the way/

Dirty towels were hanging in bath room, made me wonder whether the room was truly cleaned. When complained staff said they would Comp the room. The next morning at checkout the room was not comped. Staff said”sorry we don't Comp rooms”

The noise was over 80 decibels for 2 of my days. I was unable to work or enjoy spending time with my daughter who I had not seen in a month..I called the front desk who didn't do anything. I called corporate who called the front desk. I won't stay here again!!

The hotel staff were very professional and helpful. The rooms were nice, however the carpets could use a good deep cleaning to eliminate the small odor. Not a 5Star hotel but for the last minute booking and value it was ok

We had a vehicle breakdown so spent some time in St Louis area. This hotel is as offered - we thought it was a good value. Clean, quiet even though it was very busy, close to some stores and not far from historic St Charles. The room smelled a little musty but all in all we thought it was properly priced and we would stay there again

This is a great hotel. The breakfast is amazing they have anything you could want. The pool was a great way to pass time. Our granddaughter had a wonderful time swimming. It was a great staycation during Spring break.

The entire place needs updating! Shower water pressure is terrible! Bathrooms need new tile/grout or powerwashing! Fitness room has three good machines, but the room needs power washing. The pool is fun for the kids.

TV didn't work, absolutely no help from front desk. Room smelled like smoke, even though it was a “non” smoking room. No cleaning services at all. We will not stay at the hotel ever again. We will be looking in other areas.

We arrived a little late in the evening. The front desk staff member was welcoming (after he arrived), but was dressed very casually. Some type of Best Western insignia or name tag would have been appreciated. Our room was only moderately clean - it wasn't vacuumed properly (multiple trash items and coins were on the floor) and there was a washcloth with fresh blood in the bathroom. The internet was not great - it kept losing connection and was very slow. We were also disappointed in the casual breakfast presentation during this time of Covid Omicron. Sneeze guards and some individually wrapped items would have been appreciated. On the plus side, both of the front desk staff members and the breakfast attendant were very friendly and helpful.

She would visit every table to make sure you had everything you needed, and you enjoyed your breakfast. Susan is a valuable asset to your hotel. We had issues with our heat the entire first night (we had planned to stay 4 nights but left after the first to find another hotel). Lobby and elevators were dirty, slamming doors throughout the night, someone playing a guitar about four rooms down from us, hard bed and black hairs on four of our bed pillows (mine is gray)!

My daughter enjoyed taking a Lyft to downtown St. Louis for evening festivities with friends. I enjoyed the pool then the convenience of Texas Roadhouse right next door. The room was very stylish and bed so comfortable. Would love to have their pillows:) Feels and looks like a much more expensive hotel but a great value!

To start off the reservations that was made was not met as far as the room went the front desk clerk did not care to hear this and did not want to fix it didn't show any concern whatsoever about how dirty the room was nor will need to change my room and the smell was totally too much to bear sleep I didn't get to sleep I stayed here at this location several times in the past it's been 100% a okay this time not even close to up to par I may not stay ever again it's questionable whether or not I would recommend this to my friends or colleagues

Staff is great and the rooms are nice and comfy, and the breakfast is wonderful. the hotel is very clean, and the pool is great.And the extra stuff they sell like soda, snacks, etc are very great since you don't have to get out and go somewhere to get the same stuff.

I am at the BW plus st Charles. I've stayed here 3 times before and each time the keys have not worked. I've seen multiple people at the desk each time complaining their keys don't work. I told them you have to insert the card and and pull up and out fir it to read. Must be old key readers When I arrived tonight at 5:30 pm. At checkin I asked for 1st floor because I had a small dog. I was told rooms for pets are all on the 2 nd floor. I said ok. Just close to an elevator if available then I went to the 2nd floor. My room was the last one down the hall. 218. The 2 nd floor hallway wreaked with cigarette smoke so bad I thought I would vomit. In the room, the microwave didn't work, the channel changer up button didn't work. I was asked if I wanted to move. I said yes. If I have to be on the 2 nd floor put me close to the elevator so I can run when I tsk done my dog out at night. I was given 204. Why did I not get this the first time? I am a best western plus member. I got nothing for my loyalty to BW when I checked in. I know at least a bottle of water was on the list. Front desk clerk said nothing about WiFi. I won't be back.

Can't say enough good, about this place. Very clean, quiet room, Right next to several eating establishments, Great FULL breakfast, even some Gluten free options, Entire staff very helpful, Would defiantly stay here again.

We had to wait 10-15 minutes both to check in and check out, with no other customers in front of us. Front desk attendant said this was because of covid-related staff reductions. Our room did not have toilet paper. We asked front desk, and the attendant said she would send it up. When we returned to our room, nothing. When we asked again, she said we would have to pick it up at front desk because, again, they were short-staffed due to covid. The breakfast attendant, however, was friendly and the breakfast options were nicer than average with a great waffle station with toppings. Whole property seemed dated and dingey, but the location is convenient. The nearby Walgreens has a great selection but I would recommend a short walk to the historic main street if possible for dining and errands.

Located in the heart of St. Charles and right off of Hwy 70 made this business trip very convenient. Friendly staff made it an ease at check-in and check-out. The price was too high for the budget of my company.

First off the staff is GREAT. Every one of them. However the hotel is run down. The carpets every where are stained. The room had an overwhelming musty odor which hit you every time you walked in (room 214). If you are looking for a relaxing shower find another place. The sink had more pressure than the shower. This is not what I expect from a Best Western PLUS.

Although my family and I have enjoyed our stay here over the years, we were disappointed in the hotel today. This hotel definitely showing it's age. Pull out bed is damaged, air conditioner caused wet floor due to extreme leaking. We asked for an extra pillow, although promised, never arrived. Lobby carpet had visible trash on it and stained. We requested the suite, it isn't worth the price.

When we arrived at the hotel we weren't sure about the quality just because of the surrounding area stores and things but once we got inside the staff was absolutely lovely, things were well kept and nice looking, and the room was very clean and orderly.

The hotel was overbooked at least I got checked in. My reservation was made through Priceline. They allowed 4 semi trucks to park in the lot so no parking was available when I returned from an evening event.. The surrounding business all post their lot as a tow away zone for non-customers. The carpet had been vacuumed and I stepped on small pebbles and dirt clumps during my entire stay.

Nice place to stay. Needs quicker internet and a better fridge as it didn't keep cool, but great value and clean. The elevator was very quick, but needed some air freshener. The location was great. They had a very friendly staff.

Best Western Plus St Charles, MO is the place to stay, great rooms , outstanding staff. Many eating choices, close to entertainment venues, easy access to Interstate highways. Continuing upgrades making it better.

We were very disappointed with our hotel. The elevator looked like it needed vacuumed. We then get to our room, the carpet is sticky in some places, the room smelled damp, and the shower had hair on the walls and carpet. Later that evening someone had come up when we parked and he looked unsafe with his hands in his pocket and coming towards me with force. I backed up my car and he ran away. We will not be staying here ever again it was a real same because we've enjoyed so many Best Westerns.

I go to Best Western for personal leisure. This gives me time to relax, read, enjoy the swimming pool and jacuzzi. I try to take leisure at once a month. Every employee I've encountered has been kind and professional.

This was very convenient to the freeway. Excellent location for restaurants too. The staff was friendly and professional. The rooms were clean and quiet. The bed was very comfortable and the AC worked well. Overall great job and a nice place to stay.

The hotel is extremely dated. When we got ready for bed after a concert, the sheets were stained, as well as brown stains on the mattress. The night shift front desk person was very apologetic. We asked that he inform a manager. We were still charged full price.

In general the hotel was fine. BUT if you need an Accessible Room, do not stay here. The bathroom has no railing around the toilet, which is VERY low to the floor. There is a bathtub with railing, but no way to shower if you need to be seated, the seat in the tub was broken. No roll in shower.

I won't be coming back unless the prices are WAY lower, everything in this place seemed 40 years old, nothing seemed as clean as it should have been. Possibly because it was so aged. I didn't get my extra pillows I asked for when booking the room, and the only thing I can brag about is the nightshift employee I spoke with a couple times going in and out. If you enjoy a great shower or bath at a hotel like I do, skim over this place. No water pressure, and the tub is old with barely any water pressure. It's attached to a Dennys, which was a plus, until we got there. Our waitress was on so many drugs I wanted to get a tetanus shot, we waited on our food for over 2 hours, and when we got our food it was cold, under cooked, and disgusting. We got our appetizer after our cold food came out, and that's a whole other review. Anyways, if you're looking for a nice hotel experience, I'd skim over this place.

Don't recommend unless the hotel has been renovated or deep cleaned. The lobby and rooms are beat up and warn down. The room and bathroom looks like it came out of the 90s and all they did was paint over things several times.

The building is old. It is outdated on both the exterior and interior. The hallways and rooms smell. There was a slow drain in our tub. The microwave cord was too short and did not reach the outlet. The staff is great.

Rooms were not very clean. I found crackers on the floor of our room right after we checked in. Pillowcase was stained. Table and microwave/fridge cart in the room were severely warped. All the employees were very nice and breakfast was good.

The room stunk like smelly cigarette smoke. It was stale smelling almost sour. The hallways were loud and people were out in the hallway and it was so loud. It echoed into the room. It felt dirty because of the smells. There was hair on the floors.

My family and I love to stay at this hotel. It always makes you feel like you're welcomed. Excellent staff ,friendly and helpful. We opted for an later check out and they made it work . Can't wait to go back.

A place to sleep but lacking in most categories. The breakfast was not well attended by the staff. There were hairs on the towels and bedding. Older building but tastefully remodeled. Staff was friendly.

I almost rated this a poor but bumped it up to an average. To be fair, the front desk staff were very helpful. However, there did not seem to be a quality control approach to the cleanliness and functioning of the HVAC, etc. We booked a suite. There was very little furniture other than the bed and basics in the sleeping area. The carpet was wet and smelled like mildew around the AC in that room. We did report the problem after our first night there and were moved to another room. It did not seem like there was a routine in place to assure the rooms were ready and up to the usual BW standard.

Our cars got broken into. The hotel smells like mold and chlorine (which is weird) Staff is very unfriendly and extremely annoyed when asked for basic customer service. Like having to have my room key updated every day because it didn't work.

Love this hotel and the staff is awesome. Friendly and always helpful. I have stayed at this hotel the every year this was our 24th year staying. We will definitely be back next year for our 25th year.

Very dirty hotel. The room was one of the dirtiest we've ever stayed at. If we didn't have my husband myself and an infant with all the luggage that comes with her, we would've moved rooms. Found trash still in the rooms, the toilets were so short you almost fell to the floor when sitting. Your key card gets randomly inactivated. When you go to the front desk their response is “it happens”.

My stay was worth the money. I didn't need anything fancy just a quiet place to sleep, some sort of breakfast and a hotel that offered a short drive to the conference center. This met those needs. The staff were friendly and helpful which makes a big difference. The breakfast was a processed grab & go but at least there was cereal & juice as an option. The bed and bathroom were clean. The carpet could be shampooed but it wasn't bad. The elevators are small so if you have a family and need a cart for luggage you may have to ride up to the room in 2 groups. The hotel is near multiple places to eat and parking at the conference center is free so that's a plus if you're traveling to St Charles. Bellachino's is a great place to eat while you're in town.

I really enjoyed my stay at the hotel. I was celebrating my Birthday. We wanted to stay close to home, and have the feeling of traveling. We had dinner and spend the night in St. Charles. We enjoyed the swimming pool and the room was very nice. The breakfast was ok, I know due to Covid. Even with that I feel a little more effort should have been taken.

The Hotel was very nice and very convenient to the Lambert International airport. The beds and pillows could be replaced but that was really the only negative. The staff was very friendly and accommodating.

The trip was a family getaway. It was Strictly for pleasure. It was great, and in a great location. Plus, easy to get on the interstate to make it back home.The double room suite was so nice. Instead of having to watch your shows on the TV in the bedroom. There is a couch to sit up and feel comfortable.

This hotel is close to everything in town. Has great amenities too. I had my kids birthday party here and it was comfortable for myself and all the kids as well as the parents that stayed. We bbqed on the back patio while we watched the kids swim, it was perfect!

We came to this hotel with high hopes. We got there and were told we had to put an additional deposit and then were told as soon as we checked out we would get it back. Now we are told we wont get it back for 7-10 business days. I had to wait 20 minutes at the front for anything. There was a guy that roamed outside the hotel and and by the vehicles the whole weekend. Upon leaving our room the housekeepers which i can identify were making sexual noises towards me and my wife as we were walking down the hallway to leave. Such a shame a nice hotel is being ruined by bad employees. Will not be back.

Not a good place at all our room had not been cleaned in awhile smelled of mildew the remote was sticky and the carpet was a huge trip hazard nothing smelled clean at all,the girl at the front desk admitted it was her second shift I'm going to guess that's why she refunded us no questions or because this has happened before

Was outdated and run down compared to the hotels it is ranked with the employees were friendly didn't really offer anything special checked in was left to figure it out for self pool hours were great 5am to 11pm

This is becoming our "Go To" hotel when we visit the St. Charles / St. Louis area. Great staff and the rooms are excellent. Great water pressure for the showers. We like the fact that it is close to the interstate without having to hear all of the traffic - being close to the interstate also means excellent access to all that the area has to offer.

The lady at counter for check in was nice. I got the keys and went to check out my room, the smell was awful, very musty like mold. I went back to see about another room and she was very apologetic and gave me a new room 502. The smell was better, but carpet had big stains, found an empty candy wrapper in the window sill, something red on bathroom floor and room was not as clean as it should be during these times. I showed pics to the desk clerk when checking out how my 2nd room was. She said to send them to the email address, but my pics would not go through. If it had not been late, and so tired from being on the road I would have found another hotel. The grab and go breakfast is a joke. The only good thing I can say is the pool area looked clean and location was good right off hiway. Staff were nice, they gave me xtra points as I am a member, but no other offer of discount for a dirty room. They can do better, place needs an overhaul!

Have to run a gauntlet of smokers to enter or exit. Many of the smokers were employees. I am Diamond Select member of the Best Western Frequent Stayers program (the highest level) and not only was that not even acknowledged on arrival but when I requested a late check out of noon instead of 11am, late check outs being a preq of the program, numerous hotel staff were banging on my door by 11 am saying get out. This is not a prime property. Also the room had dirty glass rings on the bedside table as if they had not cleaned the room properly since the last occupant. It was late and I was tired I just wet a cloth and did my own cleaning. No one except the front desk manager was nice and I only interacted with her because of the snafu over my late check out and she didn't even apologize just said she couldn't find any note. They have a lot to learn about customer service. Plus with the pandemic going on the last thing I want to do is walk through a gauntlet of smokers at the door none of them in masks but many had employee ID's on.

We stayed here back in 2015 and were very satisfied with our stay. This time around was another story. We were in town for our son's wedding and required 3 rooms. The first thing I noticed when I got out of the car were numerous empty alcohol bottles in the bushes along with other trash. When I entered the hotel, it appeared as though that entrance was the designated smoking area, as there 6-8 people sitting on the concrete benches smoking within 6ft of the door. When I entered the lobby it struck me that it was exactly the same as it was 5 years ago, right down the same furniture same area rug - in exactly the same position. The area was in no way inviting as area to sit and relax. As I was waiting to check in, I observed that the hotel is now apparently also housing long term construction and work crews along with traveling guests. The “business center” is cramped and impossible to safely distance from someone else using it. Management appears to have no requirement regarding number of persons allowed or the use of masks in the business center. When I checked in the girl behind the counter was very pleasant but never acknowledged my rewards membership or status level. When I inquired about breakfast amenities I was told there was no hot breakfast due to Covid. That's understandable, but should be mentioned when make a reservation. The clerk told me there would “grab and go” bags on a table in the lobby beginning at 7:00 am. Those bags as it turned out had an Otis Spunkmeyer muffin, a granola bar and fruit cup in them. When we got to our suite it was obvious this was 2 rooms turned in to one, with not the greatest craftsmanship. The carpets were stained and there was real lack of furniture for a large space used as the living room. The television was small (30”) sitting on a dresser. The microwave was small and barely functional, half of the buttons did not work. The refrigerator was decent size for a hotel room, but there was water standing in the bottom under the drawer. The decor was definitely needing an update. Again things were functional, just not up to date. Most places I've stayed for last 2-3 years have USB outlets and the ability charge/use multiple devices on the desk without the use of the item's charging block. The entire suite was in need of a good dusting. All of the lamp bases had visible dust on them. The bedroom was large but also lacking furniture. There was plenty of empty floor space to have placed a work table and chairs along with some sort of lounge type chair. The television was also small and the same size as the living room. We also noticed that the only ice machine and vending in the hotel are on the first floor. Very inconvenient. The revamping of the room into a suite could have used more thought and planning. While having 2 bathrooms was convenient, they were both very small. A single large bath with a tub and separate shower would have been ideal. A double wood/glass between the rooms instead of what was obviously the standard door used for an adjoining room. All in all our stay was acceptable, but nothing more and definitely not worth the nightly rate. The entire area has a fair amount of homeless walking around and or sitting in grassy areas. We will probably will not stay here again unless drastic upgrades are made and some amount of security is put in place.

The representative that checked me in was friendly, cheerful, and helpful. She upgraded me to a suite that was spacious and quite pleasant. I stayed two nights and enjoyed my stay very much. I would highly recommend this hotel. The pool was open. Breakfast was a snatch and go, not a buffet due to the Corona. Very clean facility, rooms, hallways. Staff was great!

For 2.5 star hotel, it would have been acceptable, maybe. Room is cramped and shabby and not very clean (stained or dirty toilet, hair on the bathroom wall). And FRONT DESK EMPLOYEE NOT WEARING A MASK! Makes me fear that the room wasn't well-sanitized.

Top-notch hotel. Nicely decorated, bright cheerful and extremely clean. Several areas to enjoy in lobby area. Seating areas outside. Staff was extremely courteous and wanted to make your stay enjoyable. Highly recommend and will definitely stay there again.

My family and I stayed here for two nights and were very pleased with the experience. The room was larger than a typical room of this type at other hotels which was great for a multi-day, family stay. Room was very clean. Staff was friendly and helpful. Pool looked large and was well used by other guests- we did not get there. My wife used the exercise facility and was pleased with it, as well. If I had any complaint, and this is fairly minor, it would be the breakfast. Being that we are in COVID, I know that it is more difficult to provide options, but I felt like it would have been possible to offer a bit more selection or healthier options. But really, this was not a significant issue and certainly wouldn't keep me from recommending this hotel to others or returning here in the future.

This was obviously a different hotel not too long ago and was bought and made into what it is today. While there were some renovations done to the hotel, they fall short of making it up to date or nice. The lobby area and hallways are nice. The rooms themselves are terrible. There are very few to no outlets in the room. The walls are old and stained. They put a new sink and counter in the bathrooms making it appear new, but it is far from new. The water pressure in the showers is terrible. We found a blood stained sheet in one of the beds. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone wanting to stay in a nice hotel. For the price per night, you would expect to get something nice. It is far from that. The pictures make it seem appealing. They are not a good representation of the hotel.

We've stayed at this hotel 7 times since Oct last year. Last minute stay since we had to work till 4 am and live 2 hours away. Very comfortable beds. Great pillows. Good shower pressure. Some Small issues this time but talked them over with manager James. He listened and took some notes. He's a very nice and helpful manager. Very quiet due to not many people traveling due to virus. No buffet breakfast but they offer a bag breakfast for you to take at this time. Didn't eat this time. We will continue to stay at this hotel as long as we have to work 12 hours in the city. Note that the Denny's next door is not open at this time due to the stay at home order. If you have to be away from home and need a place to stay this is it.

Excellent stay. due to corona virus the staff had to make special arrangements for breakfast. They prepared complete take out bag to be eaten in our room. It was safe,btasty and safe. We will defenitely return to Best Wetern Plus The Charles Hotel.

We stay at this property all the time and it's always been great. Sue G in the breakfast area is awesome. The night auditor on the other hand is extremely rude. Unfortunatley I will find another place to stay while in st charles

Excellent quality and service at a reasonable cost. Friendly staff and clean room. Location is close to both business and tourist activity. The on-site manager is visible and personally follows up with guests after check-in.

Overall the stay met our needs, but we did have to wait 20 minutes for a room that delayed our dinner plans. And we found items from the previous customers under the bed. How can you not have rooms ready at 5pm? I accidentally left an item in the room in which I called about 2 hrs after check out. The front desk person was exceptional, they went directly to the room and found the item. He called me back and asked how I would like to receive the item. I picked it up the next day. Denny's has nothing to do with the hotel, but I think it may be dragging it down as Denny's external and internal appearance is not clean.

Very convenient location to interstate, St Charles. Looks to be older property but was well maintained; clean rooms. Breakfast area was pretty full but food was replenished quickly and was of good quality. No problems encountered.

James at this property is one helpful fellow. He is very friendly but professional at the same time. He is very knowledgeable about the property and surrounding area. He was very popular with my grandchildren as he made them feel welcome.

we went but it sucked because we had to go to a different hotel than the one we reserved because they didn't take a major credit card which is stupid so I rate it have a star. I doubt I use it again...

I go to St. Louis for business every few months, and have stayed at about a dozen different hotels. This hotel is the one I plan on making my hotel of choice when I am on the west side of the St Louis area. The rate is very reasonable and most important is clean and quiet. Even though it is off of I-70, you don't hear any road traffic. I stayed at several other hotels in same area, and couldn't sleep due to truck traffic all night long. Note the staff/atmosphere is very laid back here, so if you want ammenities (free food/beverages) this is not for you. But it is very relaxed, quiet atmosphere. Also very close to restaurants.

Stayed here with family, recently remodeled, updated, clean, Good bkfst options, comfy beds & pillows. Didnt use pool but nice one. People friendly. Good value for $. Only thing i could say it was missing & could be added to make it better was to add charger plugins.

finding a decent pet-friendly hotel is often difficult. so, i was pleasantly surprised by how clean, quiet and luxurious this place was. the staff deserve a special shout out-each employee i encountered was friendly, professional, and made me (and my dog) feel welcome-what a rare things these days! BW - give them a raise! and, believe it or not, they offered more, and better, breakfast options than most budget hotels. just a really good experience.

This property was wonderful from start to finish. The staff was always professional, courteous and helpful. The room was clean and beautiful. Breakfast was always well stocked by a wonderful employee, warm and there was a great variety. Overall, we had a wonderful time and hope to stay again if we find ourselves in the area.

Apperince was nice. Toilets were like traing toilets for toddlers. No Kleenex but that was no big deal. Thought I was charging my phone but apparently the plug in didnt work. Was comfortable sleeping though.

The people and room at the Best Western were great, but the toilet in Room 305 was right out of a primary school -- it was so low you fell onto it and had to push yourself upright by grabbing onto the side of the tub. Admittedly, we did not complain to the manager, but had we stayed more than one night, we would have requested a room switch. Kudos for allowing us an early check-in!

My daughters and I stayed there for a hospital trip I had to make. I gotta say your breakfast lady is wonderful! She came over and talked to my niece, who made a mess :-/ she didn't even sweat it! My 5 and 10 year old daughter loved visiting with her! 5 stars all the way!

Nice hotel with a Texas Rpadhouse next door....clean rooms, quiet ...we stayed on the top floor...ask for a room on the side of the Bass Pro shop mall as the highway noise on the other side can be loud Very nice front desk staff, great breakfast and warm pool

We visited my sister in St. Louis. She was able to use her rewards points for us to stay, which I think is an awesome ability of Best Westerns. There were some issues. We asked ot be on a high floor, we asked ot have rooms right next to each other( even followed up the day of arrival and had confirmaiton that this request was approved), we asked not to be near the elevator. NONE of the requsts were accomodated. I feel bad that my sister technically ended up wasting her points on us to stay at a hotel that couldn't honor small requests that we had. They offered to move us, but we had already unpacked by the time the 2nd room was cleaned. Very disappointing

Bathroom stool did not work correctly keep making noise. Called front desk they said that they would send somebody but nobody came. Called again and new person answered the phone said maintance was not there. Could not do aything and could not give a different room. Did not offer a discount o=upon chech out

Third visit in this hotel. Always excellent service by the staff. The desk attendant found some spare chair for our comfort Restaurant close by Hotel. Convenient exercise room and indoor pool. Will come back next trip.

Full hot breakfast prepared by a charming little lady who greeted every guest and talked to the little kids. She hustled non stop keeping the food pans full. Her cheery attitude made the morning brighter.

Good visit. The first morning the pool air was COLD. I could see my breathe in their, the pool water was warm. The second morning they must of tourney on the heater. The breakfast was good. The toilet was to low to the ground on floor 5.

We have stayed at this hotel 3 times this year. Least favorite room. All in all I would recommend this hotel. Wonderful pillows! Comfy bed. Great shower pressure. This particular room faced the highway and was a little noisy. My husband always goes for breakfast and by 8:30 they were out of juice. All rooms we have stayed in need to install at least 1 more towel bar in the bath. All in all I would recommend!

We had great service. Our room was very clean and roomy. We had a family reunion at the hotel and the staff made us feel very welcome and helped us enjoy our stay. We were able to gather in the breakfast room every evening in order to have great family time.

Checked in and when I walked into my room, the bathroom light was on. Looked and found toilet was full and clogged. Called front desk, they sent someone up to unclog it. Complained and nothing was done, notified manager and received a form letter hoping to make up for it next time. Too bad as this location is best for my business trips but doubtful I will ever stay again. Previous stays have always been great, staff is tremendous. Everything is great, unless and until you have a problem.

I stayed here for the MO' Cowbell Marathon and the location was perfect! Upon arriving at the hotel, I was immediately greeted and it was a very easy check-in. There was a microwave, fridge, instant coffee maker, safe, iron and ironing board in the room. There was a pool, fitness center and free breakfast, although I used took advantage of none of them. There was free WIFI and I had no problems using it. My only complaint is that the linens looked rather worn; the hotel could definitely use some new bedding. That being said, I couldn't believe how quiet the hotel was, even though it was located right next to Highway 70. Overall, it was fine and I'll probably stay there again next year.

We have a family reunion in St Louis every year. This year we changed hotels. This was a fantastic decision. The hotel is very nice& clean. They allow us to use the breakfest room after they were finished serving. Lots of room for the kids and adults. Very relaxing and private. EL, Austin & Shannon worked with is to make sure everyone enjoyed the day. We are already setting the 2020 reunion and will book here. We love this place.

My girlfriend were celebrating our 5 year anniversary. After looking at photos and some reviews online it seemed like a pretty good hotel and i think it definitely lived up to the positive reviews. The room was clean, the hot tub upgrade we got was nice and everything seemed to be nice and cozy. Typically the water pressure in the shower is less than satisfactory in hotels but this room had very nice pressure. Overall I'd definitely recommend this place!

The pictures and price mad this location seem nice. It is in severe need of updating and repair. BW is normally great and I don't have enough to say, but I had a king suite and it was dirty, carpet coming up, bathroom unclean and needed repairs. The elevator is small and smelly and needed repairs. Go on to the Kirkwood location if you can.

My wife and I stayed 1 night after our daughters wedding. I used the express check in I received in an e-mail which made our arrival check in less than 5 minutes. The room was a king room, bed was so comfortable we didn't want to leave the next morning. The room had everything we needed. Only problem is they do not offer any smoking rooms at this hotel.

Worst hotel we've stayed at. The tub in room didn't drain the water and the second guest had to shower in dirty water. The towel rack was broken, went to get a towel and the rack fall off the wall. They sent a hotel worker in to fix the drain and he couldn't fix it.

Customer service was great but the over all cleanliness was awful! We walked into our first room with half of the floor wet due to the air conditioner leaking, room had terrible smell. Customer service was great and got us into another room very quickly. However, room number 2 was not cleaned properly.

This Best Western Plus was located right off of Interstate 70 and was easily accessible. The staff at check in and check out were very knowledgeable and courteous. The room was nice and clean and the high speed internet was great.

After contacting Best Westerns HQ Customer Service to file a complaint I was then contacted by the Hotel Mgn Mr. Anderson the follwing day. He said he'd just returned from vacation, had read my comment and was very apologetic. And would mail my property to me the next day. He stated the situation was a miscommunication and would serve as a training tool. An excellent idea! I believe what a hotel policy should be with small items of customers property left behind by accident, is to contact the owner asap and ask if they'd like to have their property returned at no charge. A guaranteed way to build a sound customer base. My property was received intact 4 days after our phone conversation as promised. Thanks only to Mr. Anderson taking charge.

The hotel is in a great location near the highway and not far from the wonderful historic area. The desk people were friendly and the room was clean enough. I looked thru the other reviews and I agree that there was a general dampness in our room. The carpet, sheets and even the pad of paper were wet. We tried to open the window for some fresh air but it was bolted closed. I called the desk to complain and she acted like she had never heard of the problem. I also mentioned it when we checked out. My major concern is the air quality and it's effect on our health. It sounds like it is a wide spread problem in the hotel. I would not stay there again.

On 7/25/19 my wife and I stayed in a suite and by mistake left behind a men's toiletries bag, not discovering the mistake until the following day in another state. When calling the front desk I was told the bag was turned into the front desk. And If I emailed to them a note with an attached UPS label they would return it to me. I sent the required email immediately costing $22 for the postal mailing label. Days went by and the UPS tracking number showed the label wasn't being used. When I again talked to the front desk they said my email and attachment arrived and the bag was mailed . Days went by. Again I called and this time told it hadn't been mailed but would be and I'd be called went it went out. Days passed. Now when I call and ask for manager James Anderson I'm told he's unavailable! The front desk lies have really caused me to write this . What kind of people are hired to work there? Seemingly dishonest ones who have zero care or respect for the customers whose jobs they rely on! The bag did in fact contain expensive dental guards along with some prescriptions I sorely needed. It's now August and I expect that by now all my belongings have been taken home by some Front Desk “ personal assistant “ and being enjoyed there. . I feel like a fool believing I would be taken care of and not happy adding insult to injury by sending a $ 22.00 mailing label ! How could so many front desk people ALL be so dishonest and inconsiderate. They all treated me like some idiot fool who believed what I was told.... and I fell for it. Guess it doesn't matter to them that after this I'll never stay at another Best Western and will tell everyone I know of the dishonest people hired to work the Front Desks . If I ever hear from the hotel manger I'll be amazed . If he looks at the register for suite 808 on 7/25/19 he ll see my contact info, but I'm not going to hold my breath. You should all be ashamed but of course nothing will be done and those that did this could care less. More than likely my story is not unique. My warning to travelers, leave something behind in your room and you can kiss it goodbye !

We raised our eyebrows as we drove into the parking lot, The Charles did not exactly look the way it was described! But, the staff was friendly, the location conventiet, the room was clean and spacious - everything we needed for this trip. You can walk to Waffle House - a plus for the husband. More importantly you can walk to historic Main Street and dynamite barbecue!

The staff as great and pleasant. Breakfast offered each morning had a wide variety of foods and drinks. Rooms were humid and had a musty smell due to the AC recirculating the same air instead of removing the humid air. Floors I'm the room, hallways and elevators were dirty. Bathtub drain was partially clogged so water took a while to drain after a shower. For the price we paid, there are better options around.

Great location right off the freeway. Hot Breakfast, clean rooms, helpful staff. Will return for future trips. My only complaint would be that the entrance to the lot needs fixed, it was a hard bump in and out .

This is a very old hotel and is badly in need of an upgrade! The coordinator of my family reunion booked this hotel. When my family and I walked into our room it smelled like mildew. I'm assuming because it's so outdated from the carpet to the furniture that the odor could have been coming from anything! One of the chest drawer handles broke when we tried to open it! The check in and check out process was good, the breakfast was hot and cold with sausage, scrambled and boiled eggs, biscuits with white gravy, waffles, etc. The Ameristar Casino is about 5 mins away or you can walk there, because it is right down the street from the hotel. There is plenty of restaurants and shopping around there. If you are looking to go into St. Louis be prepared to drive at least 20 to 25 mins! They have a swimming pool that closes at 11pm. We drove from Chicago so the parking lot was fine, but there was a tent with fireworks occupying some of the lot which took up some of the parking spaces. Overall, the stay was fine but I do not think it was worth the $125.00 per night stay!

Room was humid, AC didn't work properly.. I told front desk, he offered me a dehumidifier but said “no occupants are allowed to be in the room while it was running” So I spend $150/night to relax and tell me I need to leave? No thank you. Trash was overflowing in every trash can, obviously not well maintained facility. Next time I'll spend the extra $20 dollars and stay at a nicer hotel. Too bad, I've had good experiences at different Best Westerns. Won't be going back to this one.

I stayed here in May for a big convention and I was beyond impressed with the staff. El-Chan was so helpful and friendly, Susan was so amazing, friendly, and her breakfast was hot and delicious! One morning she was even running the breakfast by herself and she always had a smile and laugh. Anthony, the shuttle driver, was so hilarious! He was a great conversationalist and always had something positive to say. I can't wait to return next year and stay again! I hope the same staff is working! :) 10/10

This hotel is very convenient to the old town area of St. Charles where you can find wonderful restaurants, historical venues and items of interest to purchase. Just walking down the main road is an adventure worth taking! Be sure to enjoy the hotel's morning breakfast as it offers many selections which are fresh and inviting. The rooms are spacious and you will get a good night's sleep. The staff is welcoming and efficient.

I was taking a 2 day "rest" stay in a road trip & this worked out great. Nice clean hotel with restaurants & shopping close by. The breakfast had many choices & was tasty. The room was decent sized & clean. I would stay here again.

I booked this room for our anniversary. We were looking forward to time away from mids to relax and sleep!! This was a horrible visit. The lamps were shorting out, only 2 electric sockets in entire room and only1 was free to use. The whirlpool had 2 jets, 1 of which was broken. The AC would not run in room at all. It would only blow air if on heat or fan so the room was extremely hot and humid. The front desk didn't do anything about this. When I advised they said oh yeah we've told maintenance but I guess they haven't fixed it yet. They should NOT rent the room out knowing it has problems but apparently they just want to make that $150 a night

Hotel is clean, offers great amenities, and has the best hotel breakfast I have ever had. With that said, this is NOT what makes this the greatest hotel in all of Saint Charles, it's the people. El-Chan was the first to greet us upon check in. He was fast, efficient, informative and friendly. Besides check in he helped me with acquiring extra room keys and setting up shuttle services. Even when not needing his services he was always there with a smile and a greeting or goodbye. Ask him where to go for BBQ! Susan, bless this women, your morning is not complete without her. Susan somehow keeps breakfast items full and hot all the while greeting and checking on everyone who enters the breakfast room. I was so excited to see she was still working there on my 2nd trip to this hotel. That's how impressed I am with her services. Anthony, loved every minute with this man. Anthony runs the shuttle van and was a pleasure to have conversations with. I would have been happy to just hang out with him all day and see Saint Charles. Anthony was fast, efficient, and always ready with a smile. I can say the breakfast was amazing, bed were comfortable and all the things people look for in reviews. Which by the way is all true, but it's the people who keep his hotel running that truly make it a gem. Thank you El-Chan, Susan, and Anthony for another amazing stay at the Saint Charles, Best Western Plus.

Stayed here for a genealogy conference at the convention center. The conference had a shuttle from this hotel (and a few others) to the convention center and to downtown St. Charles at lunch and at night .The staff were friendly and helpful, rooms were a little dated but comfortable, and elevators fast. Good breakfast, great coffee, good price - I could not ask for anything else!

The Charles Best Western is located near old Main St. which has many quaint and interesting shops and restaurants. We ate at the Lewis and Clark, a very historic place with great food and excellent service.

We enjoyed our stay. The king bed and whirlpool room was very comfortable and a nice treat. The colors are a bit dark and all browns and outdated for the modern grays and lighter trends, but it was clean and great for the price

Whenever we are in st Louis area we stay at this hotel. Love the location. The employees are always friendly and the hotel is always clean. I really enjoy going to a place that you can tell the employees are treated right because they are always so pleasant

I stay at this hotel twice a year. The staff is always friendly and professional. Our room was great as always. Very large and clean. I would recommend this hotel to anyone staying in the St Louis area.

The hotel is located close to the airport, next to I-70, with good, clean rooms, a good included breakfast, and helpful staff. Even the elevators we fast and efficient...never a long wait. The breakfast was one of the best "included/complimentary" we have had recently. Fresh "real" eggs, bacon, sausage, waffles, and a great selection of beverages.

Wonderful staff and location.! Rooms are clean and we loved the breakfast, James upgraded our stay, witch was a complete surprise. we totally appreciated it. Thank you "The Charles Hotel" for having top notch employees, which take pride in themselves and that of the ownership. Thank you!

Super great location. Carpets aren't super clean, but the friendly staff makes up for that. La'Shon (probably not spelling his name right) was amazing! This guy worked his butt off and had a smile the whole time. Hotel had lots of guest checking in at once late in evening and he seemed to be only one working. He was amazing and so friendly and nice....he made the difference.

It's rare that I give a 5 star, but this hotel definitely did all the right things. The lady at the front desk was absolutely fabulous. She helped get me squared away, had a great attitude, and was a pleasure. The hotel was clean, the breakfast was good, housekeeping did a great job keeping my stocked on fresh towels, and there's several restaurants within walking distance. And the Bass Pro for outdoorsy folks. If in town again, I would stay here without hesitation.

This location is conveniently located near major highways and to historic St. Charles. Clean accommodations with friendly staff and well-organized store. I travel frequently and don't need lush amenities, but appreciate a fitness center with working equipment, a heated pool, and a clean, well designed room. I'll stay here again on future trips to St. Charles. Plus, it's only a two-minute drive to the Ameristar Casino where our convention was being held.

The staff and Manager Jason were very nice they always spoke and asked could they help. My daughter got sick at check out and was given a Sprite and told they hope she feels better. That was Amzaing to me.

Excellent customer service, had a great view from an upper level, room was hygenic, cool amenities liked the gym and pool, they offered breakfast which I passed on but was better quality than most, the lounge was decorated well and had complimentary drinks in the lobby. Very pleased for the price I paid, easily paid more and got less at other hotels.

I travel quite often for business and pleasure and have stayed at many high end hotel and resort properties. My experience at other properties vary in terms of overall services. However, I never had less than an awesome experience at any BWP property. The staff, amenities and affordable room rates keeps me coming back!

Called ahead to confirm this hotel offered a shuttle service. When it came time to use it, we were told it was “broken”. Buzzkill. The staff was rude about the issue and did not offer any alternative solutions. The bathroom sink would not drain. A disgusting issue for any guest to deal with.

I was a late check in. This hotel is minutes away from the St Louis airport and was very convenient for me. I requested a room (216) away from street traffic and I was not disappointed. The room was clean and fresh. The amenities were typical of Best Western as was the breakfast. I slept very well and was ready for my day. The hotel staff was courteous and friendly . I would stay here again!

Nice clean rooms. Close to highway, easy on and off. Stayed twice, on way to visit family and on the way back home. It is half way between destination. Rooms are large and comfortable and quiet. Location close to restaurants and casino. Rates are reasonable. Staff very friendly. The breakfast was nothing fancy but very good. Will most likely stay again.

The first thing that comes to mind about this hotel is how low to the floor the toilet was. If you were a child it would be great but a senior would find it a long way down. Room was a good size and clean enough. Breakfast was acceptable.

This is one of my favorite hotels with easy access to eating, shopping and gambling. I has a variety of rooms to choose from be it double, single or family stays. As a Diamond Select member I have had the pleasure of free upgrades to suites especially one with a jacuzzi tub. The fixtures and furniture could use a small face-lift, but overall a great place at a great value.

Husband and I had to work late Made more sense for us to stay in the city than drive 2 hours home in the country. I always carry a bag for emergencies like this. That said. Called first and asked about a later check out. The person who answered at 4:00 in the morning was very polite and could accommodate us a later checkout. As it turned out when we got there 20 minutes later the front desk person was Sid. He was very kind And helped us out very much since this was a last minute stay. Room was on 4th floor. Clean room bed was comfortable, maybe a little dated but clean and comfortable. Husband decided to stay up and wait for breakfast downstairs. He was very happy and full when he came back to room. Really great shower pressure. Wish I had that at home! Highly recommend this hotel. We have stayed at Best Western Plus before just somewhere else. They seem to be a good chain no problems. Only thing would have been nicer would have been a mini Keurig. The other one we stayed at had one. I always carry k cups just in case. Not a deal breaker though there is a tiny coffeemaker in room but it really is tiny. Iron & ironing board to get wrinkles out of packed clothes a plus. Checkout was good as well. Sid on nights thank you for all your help. Situation arises again for us we will be back.

Great place to stay! I always wipe down the bathrooms and tubs before bathing the kiddos and this one didnt have any dirt or grime at all on the lysol wipes. Breakfast items were excellent as well. I would recommend this hotel.

This was a great stay. I was upgraded upon arrival. The room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast in the morning was descent, they are never great in a hotel but I was as good as most of them. I will stay again.

Awesome! Front desk gal was very friendly! I had oral surgery the day before, was still very swollen. Our room was ready early and I was able to check in and relax! The hotel was clean, restaurant food was excellent (I was finally able to eat!)Thank You!

We were made to feel welcome. The beds were comfortable and the breakfast had a lot of variety and they're near places for dinner that can be at either end of the price, whether you want a steak dinner or a sandwich.

Anthony, the shuttle driver was great. He was friendly and entertaining. The staff were professional, friendly and polite. The manager checked us out and he asked questions and seemed to care about our stay.

The stay at Best Western was very nice the room was very clean good breakfast front desk was nice and the 2 lady I talk to Charmaine&Sharon in the hallway was very kind. I will return with friends again.

The staff went above and beyond to ensure our stay was exceptional. Check in staff was friendly and highly knowledgeable. My daughter even forgot something in the room and housekeeping brought it down 7 floors to us while we were packing up to leave. Great place!

Reasonable price, Comfortable, Staff is very friendly, offer breakfast, last minute book week before business meeting & I couldn't have asked for a better hotel. I stayed in the same hotel last year. It was in walking distance from local restaurants, etc. and a mile from where we had to be. I will be booking here from years to come.

We checked in very late on a Thursday night. I was not impressed. There was no parking due to resurfacing of part of the lot and the odd entrance and dim lighting made me skeptical. The attendant was nice that evening though and I felt more comfortable after checking in. The light didn't turn on when we went in the room but I found a switch directly on the fixture. The room was okay, nothing fancy at all, kind of dated and not enough outlets. The beds were fine and the bathroom was also okay but not great. The next day, the breakfast was great and there was cucumber, lemon or orange water in the lobby. Though the lobby and library decor was a little odd, it was nice to have the space to hang around in. The pool area was good enough but a hot tub would be better. The attendants over the few days were all very friendly and welcoming. On the last morning we had to leave before breakfast was ready, however the lady in the kitchen was accommodating and offered for us to take what we could (muffins/juice/coffee). If it hadn't been for the staff, the hotel would just be mediocre but the staff is what made it better.

Stopped on a return from Nashville to California. The hotel is close to casinos (we did not go to the casinos) and right next to a Dennys. The check-in went smoothly. The room was fabulous and the shower had extremely high water pressure. The BW was neat and colorful and the breakfast area was roomy with great food.

This hotel, while being somewhat dated, was everything you need. The staff was excellent. Breakfast was above average. They provided a wonderful shuttle for us to downtown St. Charles which really helped during Octoberfest.

The hotel was clean and comfortable, with helpful staff, complementary coffee and tea in the lobby, and free breakfast in the morning. The rooms felt outdated and a little tired, but were comfortable with a microwave, mini-fridge, desk/table, wardrobe (external closet), and safe. There was also a coffee maker but it was missing the part that you put the grounds in, so it was unusable. A big downside to the room was that there were not a lot of outlets, which added to it feeling outdated. I had to hunt for an outlet to plug in my laptop and phone charger, and the outlet that was closest to the desk was already used by the TV, lamp, and coffee maker. I also had to search for outlets behind the nightstand (there was one outlet on the nightstand lamp, but I needed more than one). This hotel is located right where I-70 meets the Missouri River, near a large bridge, so it's a high traffic area. But it's also very convenient, and the St. Louis airport is a 15-minute drive during off-peak hours. Historic Old Town St. Charles is just a mile away, with lots of restaurants, quaint shops, cobblestone streets, and historical markers. There was ample free parking available.

Lobby was nice, check in easy and very nice desk attendant. Room was on the 7th floor. Very clean and no smell. Breakfast was included and it was delicious. Again, was impressed with the cleanliness of the place. Close to Texas Roadhouse and Bass Pro Shop too. The historic district of St. Charles is so quaint and nice.

Well positioned, easy to find it. Breakfast was ok, complementary coffee at the lobby. Pool was clean but didn't have the time to use it. Can get to loud because of highway proximity. Staff was friendly and pleasant at all times.

My stay was uneventful, the room was nice, the bed was clean and comfortable. The staff were all very nice. I would stay here again when I travel to this area again. The location is great, we were tired and didn't really feel like getting back in the car to go to dinner, so the restaurants within walking distance were a plus.

On the surface it seems ok but staff aren't helpful or attentive. Rooms aren't cleaned thoroughly and the pool is occupied 4-8 daily with a swim school. They will promise cookies and popcorn but it may or may not be available on a given day.

Very nice experience. Friendly greeting at arrival. Room was very comfortable and every thing was up to date. In room internet was easy to use. Price was very competitive. Will definitely stay here the next time I am in the area.

The staff was friendly the place was clean and the breakfast was a typical ok Hotel breakfast. I would stay there again except for the bug bites my wife and I and a friend who stayed in another room all got. The front desk sent someone up to look at the black specks in the sheets down near our feet and ankles and they said that they were nothing and not to worry about it. My wife showed bite marks immediately and about a week later they started showing up on my legs.

On 8/7 after driving 14hrs with 2 dogs this was the perfect hotel to spend the night! The young lady at the front counter provided us great information on restaurants to order our dinner (thank you)! The hotel is near everything a traveler needs. Plus it has a great and safe place to walk dogs!

This is a super located hotel just off i-70 putting you less than 30 minutes to downtown st. louis and less than 5 minutes to downtown st. charles. The staff was friendly and having breakfast available first thing was a bonus and time saver. (Love the soap/shampoo too)

Stayed here while we were traveling through. The hotel is fairly close to the highway so it is convenient to get to. The room was everything that we needed. Check-in was smooth and easy. Staff was very friendly and our overnight stay was comfortable.

Nice place, Great staff. Only bad is the bathtub and sink drained very slowly and the refrigerator froze all of our drinks. I have stayed here many times in the past with my job. Would gladly stay again.

We were on the 8th floor Rm 807, the peephole is literally a hole in the door. Thank God that we had a suite or you could look right in and see us sleeping. The chair had a HUGE stain on the cushion the pillow on the couch at a HUGE hole in which they turned around so you couldn't see it. The air conditioning in the bedroom part was cool and the other room was not. The bathrooms looked like they needed to be cleaned in the corners. The toilets sit so low to the ground you felt like you were falling. For being a senior they hurt your knees. I cleaned out the coffee pot which was so disgusting. To top it all off we watched a HUGE shiny bug climb the wall in the living room side before we killed it. I can honestly say that we will not be going back to this hotel and could not recommend it at all.

Room wasn't vacuumed, sheets seemed dirty, the "fitness center" is a joke. No bench, missing dumbbells, 3 glass sides with people eating and staring at you. Unsupervised kids in the elevators and halls. Couldn't refund because they "sold out" and advised me of a gym across the street when I complained about the "fitness center". Garbage.

Have stayed here before and always try to book when travelling though. Didn't disappoint once again. Right off I-70, beside Bass Pro Shop, Texas Roadhouse and Firehouse Subs along with others in the plaza. Only disappointment was weekend breakfast didn't start till 7am ( we skipped since we had a long day driving ahead ). Will stay again though if travelling through. Thanks to James upon check in. Very helpful.

This hotel is clean and very affordable, a large variety of items to eat for breakfast ....but the staff....the staff is amazing!! Especially James at the front desk. I've never have anyone at the front desk of a hotel be as friendly or accommodating as he was. Every employee I encountered was friendly. They have a shuttle to take you within a three mile radius of the hotel and pick you up. We didn't use this service but did visit with the driver while we were waiting for our group to gather in the lobby. He was great, as was the nice lady in the breakfast room the next morning. They make you feel very welcome at this hotel. I would recommend staying here.

The welcome we received here was especially warm. The room was fine, clean and comfortable. The pool was great. It made a huge difference to me that the pool is shared with the local community for kiddie swim lessons. (There's always an area reserved for hotel guests.) Overall, I had a sense of safety and community which made my stay special. On a more basic note, I used a $20 Best Western coupon which made an already affordable hotel a great deal.

We loved this hotel. The staff were among the friendliest we've encountered. The room was clean, the breakfast was good, the internet worked, and we felt safe and comfortable. I highly recommend staying the 30 minutes outside of St. Louis--for affordability and hospitality. The town of St. Charles is an absolute gem.

I stay two nights here with my Road Scholar group of 34 people. PROS: Nice staff Good breakfast CONS: No shuttle from St. Louis Airport (I had to pay $18 plus tip for a 10-minute ride!) This is a CHINZY hotel, for sure, and the WORST Best Western I have ever stayed in. Only 1 small bar of soap in my room at check-in. No shampoo and no body lotion. As written above, a CHINZY hotel. So I had to beg for more soap and a bit of shampoo. After returning to the hotel at 8:45 pm, and a long, long day on the road, BOTH elevators were broken. I pressed the elevator button for my room (No. 609) at least 15 times, but nothing. So I had to walk up 6 floors. I'm only 75, but some people in my group are in their 80s. Tough luck: WALK UP the stairs. Two older women were in scooters; I have no idea how they got to their rooms. I hope no one had a heart attach going up those stars. Probably I will not get my Best Western reward points for staying here because of this terrible hotel review, but I wrote the truth. I SHOULD get double points, but oh well... I most DEFINITELY would NEVER, NEVER----EVER stay at this hotel again!!!

The front desk was wonderful. Very helpful and friendly. Rooms were clean and current. We didn't make it to the pool but it was busy. There were shops and restaurants walking distance and a hotel discount was accepted at the Texas Roadhouse.

We arrived in the evening and was greeted by EL-CHAN S. The MOST RESPECTFUL person I have met in a long while. He was sharp, listed, and helped us in every way possible. I can't enough on on him! GREAT JOB!!!

Very clean and comfortable. Front desk agent was extremely helpful and accommodating. My room was extremely spacious and the pillows were wonderful! Walking distance to a fee different restaurants. Breakfast was really diverse and delicious! Would definitely stay here again!

Although close to the highway, this hotel was quiet and comfortable. The staff was excellent - friendly and helpful. The breakfast was quite good! The room was spacious and well-equipped with great WiFi. The bed was a little soft for me, but my wife slept well.

I am a managing director with a fortune 50 company that covers KS-KY-MO and know all too well how important a smiling face and pleasant interaction is to any customer experience, and she did both with ease. I am currently in between house moves relocating from Fla and staying at various hotels in the meantime going home on the weekends. After this experience, I have decided to stay with your property next week and beyond due to her starting my day off perfect each and every morning this week. I used this hotel as the final hotel while I was riding the Katy trail. It is not too far from the trail. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The room was large and comfortable. Breakfast was also pretty good. They did have a laundry where I washed my bike clothes.

The staff at this hotel was very positive and welcoming and went out their way to help us with directions and requests. The location of this hotel is really convenient for historical downtown St. Charles: food, shopping and the interstate. If we ever come back to St. Charles, we will stay here.

Nothing bad, but nothing really outstanding. Breakfast was typical hotel fare - waffles, fruit, biscuits and gravy, cereal and such. The room was okay. The beds were probably the softest we had on our entire trip and the water pressure was just okay. The worst thing was the toilet - it felt like it was on the floor.

We thoroughly enjoyed our recent stay at this hotel. It's in a good location --close to the Main Street shops and restaurants as well as to the casino, and right next door to Texas Roadhouse and Bass Pro Shop. The hot breakfast was wonderful, and included things like scrambled eggs, bacon, biscuits and gravy, home fries, waffles, as well as yogurt, fruit, cereal, coffee and juices. The indoor pool and fitness room were a plus, and, for a small fee, we were able to bring our dog along. As gold members, we received a very nice welcome bag with snacks and drinks. The service desk employees, especially James Anderson, were very friendly and helpful. We would definitely stay here again!

The property was centrally located for our visit to St. Charles and St. Louis. Very convenient to the airport. The best part of our stay was the afternoon desk clerk Le Choun. He made our stay so much fun, by his pleasant smile and accommodating us.

The Best Western Plus The Charles was a good location for our event. We were pleased with the clean and comfortable room and breakfast. Every staff member we encountered was helpful, polite, and seemed to enjoy their job, no matter what position they served. The breakfast hostess was clearly a 'morning person' who enjoyed seeing guests in morning. The breakfast options were nice and the food I had was good. Check-in and check-out was easy. The pool water was a little cold and there is no hot tub or spa, but it was still in a nice atmosphere. The exercise room was nice, and the fire pit was a very nice surprise. We were a little disappointed there was no shuttle service from the airport; fortunately, we had family members in town to pick us up.

We stayed here for a family wedding weekend. Very convenient location to many things. Wish the parking lot was lit up more and it would feel safer at night. We liked staying here. Breakfast was pretty typical for a hotel of this type with a few hot foods as well.

The hotel is convenient to the highway, Main Street, and several restaurants. Texas Roadhouse in right behind the hotel if you don't want to drive anywhere. Check-in was very smooth. The girl at the front desk was friendly and helpful. She gave us restaurant suggestions and provided us info on the shuttle. The shuttle was convenient and Anthony, the shuttle driver, was great. Also, the hotel is close enough to Main Street to walk back and forth. It is an easy walk and seemed safe enough. The rooms are clean and the beds were comfortable. We will definitely stay here again.

The check in was bad. I had a confirmation number and they stoll could't find it. Finally after a little over 1 hour on phone. The gentleman behind the desk called someone and they finally found it. They gave us a little discount but I think it should have been free.

The B/W in St. Charles, MO as suburb of St. Louis is an easy off and on to Interstate 270. It was a welcomed quiet motel even thought it is situated close to the Interstate after a long days drive. The check-in staff was friendly and up-graded us to a better room because of our diamond level. The breakfast was quite good with a nice selection of hot and cold breakfast items. The pop corn in the lobby during early evening hours was very welcomed. There looked to be a nice out door patio area just off the indoor pool for when the weather is warmer for a nice get-together spot.

First time at the Charles Hotel but it won't be the last . Very accessible from I 70. James at check in was very personable and took his time to make sure we were informed of all services and amenities . Numerous dining options are within walking distance. Easy access to westbound I 70. Will stay again.

Lovely Hotel, good size rooms, good breakfast, but a little far out for convenient trip into Saint Louis. There is a pool and a good restaurant close by. As a stop over it serves very well. Free coffee and popcorn little extras added to make your trip more enjoyable.

A great place, clean and updated. Good value and a safe environment. James at the front desk was great and Jim in reservations couldn't have been better. A great stay once again and we will be back again when we are traveling through this area!

The first room we checked into was either occupied by someone or it was not cleaned. We got our keys went up with all of our stuff, opened the door the bed was slept in and the tv and lights were on. I don't know if there was someone in the bathroom or if it was not cleaned. Glad we didn't walk into someone. Kind of put a into our romantic night away.

We stayed at Best Western Plus The Charles Hotel for one night, a Saturday night. They were booked full, but we didn't hear any noise in the hallway, the bed was great, the room was spacious and the breakfast had a great selection and lots of room in the dining room. Our experience was really great. Front desk staff were really friendly and efficient. Room was large and nice and king size bed was really comfortable. The price was very reasonable. We would definitely recommended this facility.

This was a great hotel. We were traveling through with kids. The queen suite was huge with separate bedroom and living area. And it had two bathrooms! It worked perfect for our family of 5. James A. at the desk was awesome! He was friendly and helpful!

As soon as I walked in the door of the Hotel it felt like home. El Chan at the front desk was amazing in his professionalism and letting us know about the shuttle to and from the concert. it is so nice to have a friendly smile greet us! Anthony was our driver and he was so kind and courteous and dropped us off and was waiting there for us when the concert was over. We didn't not have to drive, fight to park at all. We felt like royalty! Those are 2 employees that are the reason we are planning our next trip very soon. The hotel was very clean and charming.

After a long drive, it was great to have El Chan at the front desk to greet me. He was very professional, quick, and friendly. Made me laugh and it was an awesome start to this weekend. Hotel is really nice too, but definitely wanted to give El Chan a shout out for his great service!

I am currently staying in this hotel while I am in St. Charles on business. I have stayed here before and returned for a second visit. I must compliment James at the front desk. He is so pleasant, always helpful and extraordinarily concerned with providing the guests with superior service. He is also very personable and friendly.....a definite asset to this hotel. My room is clean; the bed is comfortable; and there are plenty of outlets for plugging in all of those electronic devices everyone carries now. The included breakfast is not a total "WOW" but it is quite adequate and plentiful. This is definitely a good place to stay and, as a woman traveling alone, I am completely comfortable with this location's safety and security.

We are never sure what to expect when traveling with our small dog, but what a pleasant surprise this hotel was! We were greeted by James, who is efficient and hospitable. And he even offered a treat to our travel weary dog. The room was immaculate, and beds and pillows comfy. Breakfast was good. This was a great value and we'll definitely put this on our list of repeat visits as we travel between GA and CO. Very pleased!

So popular they need more elevators! and rightfully so, very pleasant , quiet at night, exceptional provided breakfast! others were good, this location for us was great! comfortable queen beds not full size masquerading to make the room look larger.

This is a very nice hotel. The room was very clean, pool was warm and clean also, and the breakfast was by far the best I've seen (tons of items). The staff is beyond friendly and curtious! The front desk attendant, El-Chan, was professional, friendly, and very helpful.

We were traveling out West and needed a place to stop for the evening. We booked The Charles Hotel while on the road and when we arrived we were greet by friendly gentlemen at front desk that accommodated our request to be on upper floor at end of hallway. The room was clean and spacious. Very quiet night sleep which was needed after long day of travel. The next morning I went for a run and realized that very close to historic St Charles for those interested in visiting the area. The breakfast was great with typical hotel offerings and a few extras like bacon and eggs. I would recommend if needing a relaxing quiet place to sleep.

We broke down and had to stay here for 4 days. Staff Amazing, especially Saphone R, he went over and above to help me with problems that kept arising. Indoor pool, wonderful. We will be back. Ty Saphone

In my travels I have dealt with wit, humor, dower faces, surliness, rudeness, ignorance and most other annoying habits from those at the desk. Not so here at the Charles Hotel (Best Western Plus) James met us. I don't believe there is a more knowledgeable, kinder, more thoughtful, efficient, quick or harder working man alive who can multi-task with the best. What a delight to find someone who seemed to enjoy his job, was great at his job and wanted, sincerely, to have his guests enjoy their stay. Marvelous to have met such a fellow. Would come back to this hotel just to greet him again and have him extend his brand of hospitality.

The hotel was in the center of a shopping plaza. It had restaurants around and all the stores were in walking distance. It was easy to plan our day knowing we could go eat right outside our hotel if we didn't want to travel far.

This was my 3rd visit and each time have had exceptional service and professionalism. James and the other front desk staff are awesome. He goes above and beyond to address any question or concern. The rooms are very clean and beds comfortable. Very nice breakfast selection and staff. Very friendly and welcoming. I was there 4 days for a meeting and felt very safe and comfortable the entire time. Very close to wonderful dining areas as well. I plan to stay here any time I am in the area. Very quiet facility.

Our room was spacious and comfortable if you slept in a bed. The pull out sofa sleeper was terrible. Breakfast area was well stocked and clean with lots of room. Fitness area and pool were also nice. Katie at the front desk is great.

We recently stayed at "The Charles" for one night as a little family getaway. We booked because of the low price and decent reviews. I would say that this hotel is trying to be "fancier" than it actually is. The completed renovations (hallways, lobby) look really nice, but the building just feels old, somewhat run-down and a little dirty. The rooms do have ample floor-space. We were promised a King room by the employee at the front desk, only to wait for the incredibly slow elevator, open our door and find a 2 Queen room. Not a big deal - but it seemed funny since the employee made such a to-do about being able to get us a King room. Breakfast was average, and the pool was well-maintained. Probably wouldn't stay here again though.

Very clean and friendly staff. Loved staying in the jacuzzi tub king suite, the jets were perfect after a long day of driving and for a great price. The staff was very friendly to our dog and offered treats upon arrival.

Pretty low-end for the price. Won't stay there again. We go that way 3-4 times per year but will seek something nicer next time. Roomwas noisy, dingy and smelly. Staff was great, helpful and courteous, but room was sub-par

No water pressure, room could of been cleaner,sheets were old, check in was a disaster gave us an occupied room, my son open the door and a lady was naked changing her clothes, to much $$ for the type of room

I stayed at the Best Western Plus Motel in St. Charles Missouri for Oktoberfest and I absolutely LOVED my stay! The opeopl here were so very kind from the beginning. At check-in Katie was marvelous and kind with giving me a map of the area and telling me the run-down regarding restaurants and such. El-Chan helped me out when I needed extra towels by sending Alberto (very sweet). I travel a lot and have never had this kind of service. Even just on the elevators, talking to housekeepers was something I looked forward to! Dashanae and Markesha both were very entertaining and pleasant. Please give all of these hard workers raises!! the only problem was the SLOW elevator

Had a great stay at this very nice Best Western! All of the staff was very good and the accommodations were great! The location was awesome, lots of great stuff around, I will definitely be back! Very close to the bass pro shop :)

Stayed here numerous times with our two little fur babies and will go back again. Thermostat in room was the only thing that we had a problem with. It didn't seem accurate. Everything else was great!!

Decided to visit saint charles for the historical districts Christmas traditions. Also looking for a room with a jacuzzi, so this location looked to be a great fit. Gave us a great military discount as well. The staff were absolutley great. Rooms were clean and hotel offered a free shuttle within 3 miles, which will get you really anywhere you need to go including main street. My only concern was the noise level outside the hotel, which is not something that can be helped.

My wife and I stayed here 11/24/17. Katie was very friendly and checked us into Room 114, on the Ground Floor. The room had a comfortable Pillow Top King size Bed, Whirlpool, 32 inch TV, Fridge, Microwave, and a Coffee Maker. There is an Indoor Pool and Breakfast at 7 am. The Bass Pro Shop is just next door, Texas Roadhouse Restaurant is in the next Lot, and a Denny's Restaurant on the other side. Elchan, the "Front Desk Supervisor", was Very helpful and called us a Cab, so we could go to Downtown Saint Charles. We spent the evening dining at Hendricks BBQ Restaurant, then seeing the "Jeremiah Johnson Band" at the Moonshine Bar.

Very nice front desk staff and hot breakfast were high points. The elevators are tiny and take forever to reach a floor. With 8 floors this can become tedious. Only 1 elevator was operating. Room was comfortable.

Easy location to the historical downtown area of Saint Charles. This was a great price of $98. We were there in October of 2017. The hotel has been updated with a comfortable room. The breakfast is included in the price and was very good and better than expected. Very good value.

I had paid to stay for 6 days however had to leave early due to my son being involved in a bad car accident that landed him n the hospital on life support. So I called them n them to explain they told me I couldn't get a refund!!!!! Wth?

We picked this hotel off the internet and were very pleased with the accommendations and the location. The hotel room was much nicer than the studio timeshare we had just stayed in in Branson. The hotel is located close to downtown St. Charles and had a couple of restaurants within walking distance.

We stayed here in a room block for a wedding. Rooms were clean, staff was friendly and the included breakfast was pretty good for a hotel breakfast. It was just across the street from the reception venue, which was nice, but the shuttle stopped at 11 so we had to use Uber to get over to the hotel. Some other people in our room block said they had issues with their reservation, but we did not. Over all, nice for an overnight stay.

This has got to be one of the best Best Westerns that I have ever stayed in. All of the staff was friendly and helpful. The breakfast staff was on top on the food at all times. And during our stay they went from soccer to basketball teams. The room was comfy and even had a body pillow (I normally don't travel with mine). This hotel is in walking distance of 7 places to eat. And I'm guessing 100 within a short drive. The draw backs was that one of the two elevators was still broken (one of the other guest stated that it had been out for at least 3 months) There was times we had to wait 10 minutes for it. And the one that was working would only hold about 6 people at a time. And I realize it did not state that there was a hot tub, but lacking one is a drawback in my mind. If you're like me I like to unwind for the drive by sitting in one in the evening. I would recommend this as a place to stay

Room was not clean when I arrived, hair was in the shower along with an old, crusty towel from the previous guests. Did not feel like anything the room was clean. Had a foul odor, when given the wrong key card to the wrong room at check in, staff was hiding behind wall at check in counter, no where to been unless you had to ask for them. Not a pleasant experience, do not recommend.

Hotel has 8 floors and only one elevator working. Service very slow, had to use the stairs. Breakfast was good nice variety. Toilets will break your knees way too low. Room was nice some noise from interstate.

I have stayed at this hotel twice and I loved it every time. The staff are always friendly. It is right in walking distance of places to eat and shop. The rooms are clean the breakfast is good and hot.

We were pleasantly surprised at how nice the rooms were and how accommodating the staff was. Everyone was so helpful and kind. We were able to check-in early which really helped with the events of the day. It's a great location, as well.

Room and beds are wonderful. Bathroom supplies are Bath and Body Works! No outlets so phone and electronics had to be charged in the bathroom. Absolutely a very clean! Michelle at the desk overnight was truly helpful and over the top giving us information about the city! Spectacular concierge I very much give her props!

Friendly, helpful, and professional staff, comfortable beds, clean hotel, and very good breakfast. This is our second time here in 15 months. The pool is very nice, and the fitness room has everything you need. We are very pleased with this BW hotel!

This is by far one of the Best Best Westerns The staff is very friendly and accommodating. Close to restaurants, shopping, attractions and highways. Have stayed here in the past and it's consistent. Will stay again.

This was a stopover on our way from St Louis to Springfield, MO. We had visited the St Louis Zoo and then drove to the hotel. Very easy to find and park. Close to restaurants, shopping and St Charles Main Street. We had 3 adults traveling so the suite we got was very comfortable. 2 Queen beds in a separate bedroom with a bathroom. The living room had a sofa bed and another bathroom. Lots of space so we didn't get in each other's way.

This hotel was within walking distance to restaurants such as Texas Roadhouse, Denny's, etc. and shopping such as Bass Pro, CVS. There were no major things wrong, and we would probably stay again except for minor details as the annoying fan in the bathroom. You could not leave the light on at night in there without the vent loudly running. The bathroom is always my pet peeve, and this one did have a nice make-up mirror in it, but for some odd reason the toilet was super low to the floor like for a child. Could not figure that one out! The only other thing that might bother some is the elevators are very slow and tiny. It made for some frustration as large soccer teams were staying there and crammed the elevators. We asked the front desk about these annoyances and they said the toilets and the elevators were next on their list to update. Otherwise a nice place to stay. They do offer shuttle to historic district but too late in the day for us.

We had a good experience at this hotel. The only issue we had was that there were apparently two small-sounding dogs in an adjoining room and they barked once during the night, waking us up. The only quickly quieted them, but it woke us up. The hotel was nice and clean, convenient location for us and the staff were all friendly and helpful.

This hotel was very clean and friendly. After having to leave another hotel in the area because of a cleanliness problem we were very happy with how clean it was here. Their prices were reasonable as well!

This was a great hotel. The rooms were spacious and clean. The hot breakfast was very good. It had a nice, heated indoor pool and a fitness center. Free USA Today newspapers were available. The staff was friendly and helpful.

Everyone was most Gracious. A good morning or evening and have a nice day. Easy to ask questions and helpful with many tips. Room very comfy.Breakfast was an added bonus although there are many restaurants near by. About half an hour from downtown.

Stay at the Hotel was great! But I lerft a small bag in room after checkout - & staff was EXTREMELY helpful in getting it overnighted to me. I appreciate James help very much. Highly Recommend to all, A+, will definately stay there again!

This is my second visit and the hotel provides everything I expected. Room clean, comfortable and spacious. The swimming pool provided a great venue for a few early morning lengths before the standard Best Western breakfast. Finally I would like to thank the manager for waiving the first night stay charge for one of our team who's flight was diverted as a result of hurricane Irma and never made it to St Charles.

We've stayed here before. I don't remember the last visit. This one is memorable because the place where an easy chair should be was empty. I had to pull out the table between the beds to seek electricity and discovered that it had not been vacuumed in a while. The room was very short on electric plug-ins. Check-in was hurried with pretty unintelligible fast talk. The person manning the desk at check-out was delightful and a credit to the hotel. You may want to bring a power strip if you have a lot of electronics to plug in. The breakfast offerings were definitely not plus. We ate elsewhere.

Very friendly check in staff. Good restaurant near. Nice room. Location close to interstate and access to the Gateway Arch. There is a shopping center adjacent with easy access and good variety. Only problem was the air conditioner would not keep temperature warm enough. On check out, staff said they would fix it.

We stayed here for my sons wedding, the staff could not have been more accommodating! (Thank you) Everyone from cleaning to the front desk were so very nice. The rooms where very spacious and spotless, the beds were comfortable, breakfast was awesome! The hotel is close to downtown old St Charles, the casino, the family arena and lots of restaurants! Downtown St Louis is a short drive away too. I would highly recommend this hotel!!!

A great place to stay will stay again I will stay here any time I am in the area. Located near a number of things to do. It is near St Louis and the Cardinals. Very nice and clean. I would give a top 10.

Enjoyed my comfortable room, the pool, and the superbly friendly staff. Restaurants/businesses nearby - walking distance. The hotel is not in downtown St. Louis but there is easy access from freeway - a drive from downtown. There are nice little touches, a clean lobby, clean rooms, comfortable bed, nice pool with good hours - open early in morning. Typical hotel breakfast, but a roomy breakfast room.

Check in was good. The hotel is close to attractions. The room was clean. The pool area was clean. The hotel staff were all very helpful and polite. The only problem was that one of the elevators was not working and you had to wait a while for it. We took the stairs but it was an inconvenience.

This is a great Hotel the service is very good it's very clean and the location is good. It is very closely Expressway which gives you access to several different locations around Dallas area. The rooms are very good but you have to remember this is in a metropolitan area so usually rooms are very large overall it's very nice.

We stayed twice at this facility, one week apart in transit. The first stay was quite wonderful. Staff friendly and helpful, double room suite clean and well set up. We had the same room on our return trip and it no longer smelled fresh, items were left in the fridge from previous guests. Only one elevator was working for eight floors of people. Staff seemed a bit more harried. Breakfast both stays was quite unremarkable. Cereal stale. Good location, though, for the Katy Trail and historic St. Charles and riverfront.

Historic St. Charles was as much fun as downtown St. Louis, "The Loop", and Casinos, each with a different "flavor". Food was good everywhere as well as the ambiance. The hotel itself is in a prime location - close to everything and easy to get to every part of the area. We particularly loved walking to the historic downtown and the casino. The staff and accommodations were exceptionally nice!

The hotel and room were very nice and the breakfast was above average. The refrigerator in the room did not work and we noticed in the am when we took out our warm beverages. But there was a fire alarm in the am during breakfast and we forgot to report the refrigerator. The staff were all efficient and considerate during the fire evacuation and re entry

Everything was really nice. With the exception that the elevators did not work the second day. We were staying at level 5, so we had to carry the luggages. Breakfast was great, room was great. But overall the experience was great!!!

We are frequent guests at Best Western hotels (diamond members). On the morining of 8/28/2017 the only working elevator in the building caught on fire. Our family, myself my husband and our 4 year old granddaughter, were on the 8th floor. No fire alarm sounded on our floor, no one knocked on our door (although the argued that they did) and no one called our room. There was a burning smell when my husband went to investigate there were firemen in the hall. There was also smoke in the hall. We gathered our stuff and exited down 8 flights of stairs. My husband was extremely upset that we were left in the building. While confronting the person in charge (the housekeeping manager) he was met with rudeness when there should have been compassion for our situation. The fire department was scolding them for the lack notification and evacuation process. They silenced the fire alarms and failed to notify all residence to exit the building. I mentioned to one of the housekeeping staff about our situation her response was 'they need more training'.. seriously not 'sorry this happened'. This situation could have been much worse and our lives could have been at risk. We were met with no remorse and no apologies.We were forgotten about and left in a dangerous situation then met with disrespect and no regard for our feelings. I hate to think that of the results of an extreme fire we would have been trapped on the 8th floor. The lack of training on evacuation and the lack compassion from management select employees at this hotel is disgraceful.

This is an older hotel but the rooms were clean and the beds comfortable. I was pleasantly surprised to find that our suite had two bathrooms. We had booked this hotel for two nights as we were in Missouri to see the eclipse. We were so pleased to find that St. Charles had so much history and such an amazing old Main Street.

We got the reservation through Price Line because it was just a one night stay. I was very much surprised by how nice the room was. The front counter staff person was very courteous and friendly. The room was clean with new carpet. The air conditioner was a little loud but acceptable. It had a nice indoor pool. The free breakfast was well stocked and very good. It had a large variety of items. Also, the coffee was excellent. If you are going to Old St Charles, this is a great place to stay. Lots of close restaurants and things to do like a AMC movie theatre. Would stay there again.

We love the hotel , Staff, location & breakfast fabulous !Great pool, well equipped gym & outdoor area. You are across the street & down a bit from the Ameristar. A nice outdoor mall is across the parking lot,. You will find groceries & shopping there. Rooms are roomy with comfortable beds & nice setting area. Over all we come back anytime we are in the area !

Great location for the price. Clean, comfortable rooms with good wifi service. Rooms are a little dated but very clean. Overall a good value. Did not use the pool or exercise room but saw others using them so they must have been ok.

We had a splendid time at this location. The room was clean and quiet with no smell of smoke. The lobby and side rooms had plenty of seating space. The breakfast had fun options and was served by friendly staff. Great place to rest for a night.

This was a good stay, nice large room, included a small refrigerator. The elevators are small and there is often a wait, and the luggage carts barely fit in. Breakfast was good, but some attention to detail was missing, the orange juice machine wasn't working. The entrance to the parking lot is easy to miss, kind of an odd "front entrance".

After price line screwing us on the Red Roof we left Red Roof because of bugs and unclean rooms. Price line not refunding our money after the Red Roof refunded them. We on our own went to the Best Western St. Charles Elshaun was great he helped us find a room for the night got a great rate and got 2 room suite the next day breakfast was good I wish they had a hot tub but the inside pool was nice a lot of stores in walking distance including the Amerstar Casino. Stay there anytime

Friendly and sharp staff. Nice clean room with good internet and TV. Also, the complimentary breakfast made a good start to our day. Good experience. We would stay there again. We were impressed with the young man who checked us in. Good attitude and good at his job.

Very professional and clean. Room was cool even on 100' F day. Food was fresh and pool was salt water. I swam here for years... We love this place and it will bring us back. Elevators need updated for they are very well used.

My daughter and I stayed here one night after completing the Katy Trail on bicycles. When we first walked in there were some construction tools that were being taken somewhere. They made it a bit difficult to get an accurate impression of the lobby area. Front desk staff were friendly and courteous. We asked if they had a place we could secure our bikes and they allowed us to put them in our room. (some hotels don't allow that). The room was nicely furnished and very clean. The beds had multiple pillows on them of different firmness levels, making it easy to find the most comfortable one. While here we got tickets on amtrak back to Clinton. But, we weren't able to get the morning train. Leaving later and being tired from our trip I didn't want to check out at 11 and spend the day in town until it was time to catch our train. I called the front desk and explained our situation. They were very understanding and are able to move things around to allow us a later checkout. The breakfast was good and had a few small touches that made it extra nice. They had almond and soy milk as options which impressed my daughter. They also had tortillas to make breakfast burritos. Overall this was a wonderful experience and the perfect place to recover from biking a few hundred miles.

At check-in, midnight, he said our rooms were still being cleaned and that we would not be able to check in for 30 minutes to an hour. at 1:00 am our rooms still were not ready. At 1:30 am I was given a King Room (Reserved a Queen Double) and at 1:45 am my second room was ready. I was assured that the next night I would have a Queen Double, no, was given a roll-a-way.

The location is fantastic.. a very short distance to a very cool historic district. The Staff was awesome. By far my best experience at a Best Western with check in and Staff. Comfortable beds but the rooms and bathrooms could use an update. Inefficient a/c units so the rooms are very humid and the carpet feels damp and smells musty

Very good upgrades under the Best Western Plus name. Received points at check in and a to go bag on check out. Close to the Ameristar Casino and a better deal staying close to the Texas Roadhouse to eat with their coupon.

I was very disappointed. We have stay at BW many times. This was the worse. It just seemed like they didn't care about the guest during the power outage even though I told them we had medical equipment that was critical.

The beds were very comfortable and the rooms were very quiet. The complimentary breakfast was great with many selections. We stayed for 4 nights with no problems. Highly recommend. Great value for the money!

Terrible experience . I feel they have offered a refund. My family and I were suppose to stay 2 nights and it was so bad I cancelled the 2nd night. I'll never use this hotel again and possibly other locations also

The hotel was conveniently located close to the internet and St Charles Main Street. It was clean and the employees friendly and accommodating. The bed was comfortable. Unfortunately the AC was loud and I think every time it clicked on and off it woke me up. It ran very loud. In the bathroom the fan was very loud and there was no way to turn it off. And finally the toilet was small and very low to the floor. I had never seen anything like it.

This is the second time I have stayed at this Best Western. The first time I made reservations in advance and was very satisfied with my stay. This stay was last minute and the experience wasn't the same. The front desk clerk was nice but it take a long time to check in. Nothing was ever mentioned about being a Best Rewards member as was done on my first stay at this hotel. The bed sheets were damp and even wet on one of the beds. It wasn't just the beds in my room but also in my brother's room across the hall. We were on the 7th floor. We didn't know if it was the humidity in the hotel or if the bed sheets just weren't completely dried. Because we were in a hurry to return to Ohio I didn't have time to bring it to the attention of Management. The breakfast was nicely presented, well stocked and very clean. Hot foods were hot and cold food cold. It's also a great location being just off of I-70 right on the outside of St. Louis.

After a long day's drive, we were grateful to find the Best Western Plus just off I-65 at exit 351. Since it's also called The Charles Hotel, we were a bit concerned that it was an old revamped hotel. Following a warm welcome, we reached #618 KNS, a spacious clean room that exceeded our expectations. The room was quieter than anticipated. It featured a chair/ottoman, desk, television on drawer unit, refrigerator without freezer, microwave, closet unit, and comfy bed. The bathroom was compact but functional. Next door was a Texas Roadhouse for dinner -- without more driving. Breakfast was the standard waffle and hot items as well as cereal, pastries, and fruit. Had we more energy, we could have driven to the historic downtown or to the nearby casino.

Very impressed with Best Western. The room was very clean. The people were very friendly. I am a Hilton Honors member and Choice rewards and just joined BW rewards. I will look for their hotels in the future instead of the aforementioned.

Phone reservation process horrible. Counter completely unattended. Wrong room provided, made to wait for ours. Promised discount never delivered. BS excuses at checkout. Never again! Staff was obviously new and left alone. Long line formed at counter when no clerks were available. A horrible experience.

We stayed for a week at the Best Western Plus - The Charles Hotel to be near the St Charles Convention Center. The hotel attached to the convention center was booked, and now I'm glad. The Best Western Plus was a lot less money for the week, and a great bargain. I found all staff (front desk, breakfast area, cleaning staff) to be pleasant and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable, though a bit humid despite the AC keeping it cool.

This hotel was great in many ways including a great breakfast, friendly efficient staff, and great room. My only compliant would be that it stated within walking distance of historical Main Street and casino. Yes it was within walking distance, however, if you wanted to walk about a mile.

We found this property in the Travel Buddy magazine and tried it out. We went to St. Louis for a bit of sight seeing and didnt want to stay downtown. The hotel is in a safe area with close access to the Ameristar and Bass Pro. Several resturants are within walking distance including Texas Roadhouse. The rooms are clean and spacious - but the bed pillows leave alot to be desired and the water pressure in the shower was pretty low. Other than those two items the room was very good for 3 adults and one child. The morning free breakfast was very good with particular notice to the woman who ran it by keeping it clean and well stocked. The front desk staff were always friendly and helpful. For destinations the zoo is about 30 minutes away in light traffic as is the arch. The hotel is right off of I 70 but quiet. Nice safe family friendly area.

First let me say that the staff at this hotel were really friendly and made you feel welcome. I'm not picky about a hotel mattress. I usually think one hotel mattress is as good as the next. They are all usually pretty comfortable, in my opinion. The mattress at this hotel was awful. I woke up with a backache. It was lumpy and hard. The decor in the hotel is a little dated, but the hotel was clean. There were no usb ports in the room for charging devices. Most updated hotels have usb ports and I find that to be a great convenience. It would be nice to have a second trash can outside of the bathroom. I also wish there was a full length mirror. Staff was great. Mattress was horrible.

We enjoyed our stay..the employess were friendly and helpful...facility was clean. It was wonderful having access to a washer and dryer. The location was great ...easy access to the main roads and easy to get to site seeing attractions.

All I needed was some rest. Entering the hotel was great, but going up the elevator, made me think I was in a Motel 6. Getting off on the 6th floor, you can smell the carpet as if it was a little damp. Once I opened the door to my room, it was awesome. The bed was GREAT, My only issue was the front desk not transferring a very important call to me because they told the caller no one by the name is at this location.

Hotel was nice, overall great place for business or leisure. I would stay there again if needed. The only recommendation I have is to clean the carpets in the room more often. Definitely don't want to walk barefoot on the carpet.

This is not the Best Western I remember from our last stay in one 5 or more years ago. The decor has been updated is quite nice. The room is spacious, clean and comfortable. There were a few little things like a stain and scuff marks but overall it was very nice. Ask for a room away from the ice machines. It can get a little loud. The lobby area had a couple of common rooms you could use. The only complaint I had was that to get to the elevators from the pool, you have to pass the front desk and it was wet in that area (I assume from dripping guests). Maybe a rubber mat along the hall would help? The staff was friendly and helpful.

Hotel looked recently upgraded. Nice and polite staff, comfortable bed and clean room. Liked the free breakfast buffet and laundry facility. Rooms seemed sound proof which made for a good nights sleep. AC runs all day all night, takes getting used to. Overall, a very good experience.

Stayed at The Charles Best Western for an extended weekend to celebrate our grandchilds birthday. The pool is great as is the outer area where the kids could take a break and sunbath. The dish of fruit that was refilled throughout the day and the cucumber water were a nice touch

I had a horrible experience at this hotel, starting with a dirty room, and ending with a manager that has yet to return my call. This hotel needs new management... When I checked in there was urine on the toilet, and feces in the bowl. The carpet was damp, and the room smelled bad. They switched us to a new room (only after asking multiple times), but it was only marginally better. The new room had stains on the carpet, there was still an odd smell, and the A/C hardly kept the room cool.

Rooms/bedding/shower were not clean. Hair everywhere. Someone's pet pooped outside one of our rooms and was not picked up. Plug for sinks not hooked up correctly and had to manually get it unplugged. When reported to staff, all we got was an apology, and nothing else. Went right on with what he was doing previously. The only good thing about this hotel was our breakfast experience. That room was clean and the lady servicing everything was so friendly and caring.

Good stay, nice staff. Location was close to old city and casino. Staff was extremely helpful and explained the process of check-in and check-out thoroughly. Recommend that families stay due to the pool and closeness to restaurants.

This is one of the top Best Western experiences ever, although all have always been great. This facility is not only beautiful and immaculate--the staff is also very professional and so very friendly and helpful.

Great place to stay. We were here 5 days including a busy weekend. Our room was always quiet even with many young families and children staying here for a soccer tournament. The lobby and breakfast room were well maintained and we found the staff to be friendly and helpful. Our room was kept clean. We would definitely stay here again.

We had friends that stayed at Residence Inn and paid less. The breakfast was awful and made the value of this place even worse. I stayed at a Doubletree wth a huge spa and gym and wonderful free breakfast for $20 more. Reeks of smoke and old, dampness.

This is one of the older BW that had been redone. Clean & staff very friendly and helpful . Breakfast as hot & had usual food. Breakfast lady very nice. Location was perfect for us to be on west side of city heading west Will stay again.

We had a lovely stay at the Best Western Plus in Saint Charles. The hotel reception area was very pleasant with a seating area and free coffee and tea. The front desk person was very pleasant and helpful. We had a big comfortable room. The hotel looks like it had been recently renovated and was beautiful. The location was convenient to the casino and the historic district of St. Charles. There are restaurants and shopping within walking distance of the hotel. We were very happy with our stay.

After a long ten hours in the car, it was a wonderful stay at this hotel. The staff was knowledgeable and were able to answer our question about what to do and where to eat. All of their suggestions were right on. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone who comes to St. Charles.

The hotel was only 7 miles from Lambert International, two miles from my son's family home, less than a half mile from 5 star resturants amd only 8 miles from my granddaughters high school graduation program.

The rooms were cold, dark and dingy. Toilet didn't work properly. I only stayed one night but would not consider staying there again. If it was recently renovated I must have gotten an unfinished room.

Paid around $100 for a room in the middle of the week. the room was clean, comfortable and cost effective. It was a little farther from STL Airport than we thought , but they do have a shuttle. Just call ahead for a airport shuttle reservation, it is by appointment only.

I have stayed at this location several times. The location is great with lots of restaurant just walking distance from the property. The pool is heated and the breakfast though small is enough to hold you over until lunch. I would recommend this hotel.

The staff were great and rooms were great as well. The staff were very friendly and very helpful. Went out of their way to make our stay relaxing and peaceful. There is a Denny's restaurant on the same property and it has a very good gluten free menu.

Needs updating. Needs freshening up. Stale room smell hit us when ever we walked into the room. Pricey for what we received. Hard to see hotel from freeway as it just blends in. I do have positive things to say such as location was nice. Fairly easy to get to. Bed was comfy. Staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good with many selections to choose from.

This was a very large 2 room suite with 2 full bathrooms. The suite was clean and very attractive with great makeup mirrors in the bathrooms. The only problem was the very old condition of the sofa bed and the main reason we booked a suite. The mattress had seen way better days and except for a very thin piece of cotton covering the springs, you would be sleeping directly on the springs. There was no excuse for this situation. I requested a change of matress and instead received a rollaway cot. This was better than nothing and we will likely give them another chance.

This is my third stay at this location and I have never been disappointed. If there was anything to complain about it would be that it is always so busy and sometimes takes a bit to get checked in. Lovely hotel, nice rooms and they are quite large, good shower and water pressure, nice soaps and shampoos. Breakfast is always good, better than most for sure. Right in the middle of everything so you can walk to eat and shop and be in the city in minutes. They also have room service but I have never used it so I cannot say how it is. Fridge and microwave in every room.

This Best Western Plus property is a very nice hotel in the St Charles area. Walking distance to a lot of convenient locations in St Charles and a couple minutes to the cool riverfront strip of restaurants, shops and pubs. No surprises, just a good choice for a place to stay, helpful staff, indoor pool and full breakfast in the morning.

This was our second stop at this facility within six weeks. We had been quite pleased with our first stay (in March), so made another reservation. I was told on the phone that while there were no more accessible rooms available, we would have a room on the 1st floor. Upon arrival, the desk clerk said no rooms were available on 1. We were given a room near the elevator on the 4th floor which was supposed to be non-smoking. The room had such a strong cigarette odor, that I went back and requested a different room. That room, though at the very end of the hall was fine. The desk clerk did apologize for the inconvenience. The rest of the stay was fine--bed was clean & comfortable and their breakfast is a step above average. Oh, the bottom of the tub was not clean, but thought perhaps it hadn't drained properly after cleaning??

Best Western plus has become our new go to hotel when we can stay at one. This property was very convenient to I 70 and had several restaurants nearby. The room was very large and very clean. The staff was the friendliest we encountered on our trip and the continental breakfast was very good. Would stay again if in the area

I was very impressed with this Best Western hotel; its accommodations and its staff. the beds were very comfortable and the breakfast was very good with hot items included. the staff were very helpful and polite.

Loved this hotel! Great service! Very nice! We were in town for a family gathering. The hotel was perfectly located. The staff was excellent! The pool was very nice and clean. We will stay here the next time we are in St. Charles!

The location along the interstate and a few minutes away from the interesting "old town" Main Street area of St. Charles is great. In all ways our stay was excellent, and the desk service was exceptional.

I paid cash at check in and my card was still charged, had to argue with hotel that I paid cash before refunding my money, which I had to wait several days before money was refunded. Hotel was clean and in working order. Did not get up in time for the Hot breakfast, but was told it had waffles, eggs, bacon, potatoes, cereals, fruit, muffins, yogurt, juices.

I would recommend staying here clean and convenient. Staff was very accommodating. Breakfast was good. Room was nice and quiet for being so close to the interstate. There are several good restaurants near by.

We are traveling with our daughter who goes to bed at 7:30pm and we do not. I wanted to find a "suite" with a separate bedroom and this fit the bill! You could tell the suite was basically two old hotel rooms with a door to join them and the bedroom door to the hallway walled off. It totally fit the bill and there were even two bathrooms. It was exactly what we wanted. The hotel staff were super friendly too. There are a lot of good restaurants nearby and it's close to downtown St. Charles (we didn't go there). Also most important: the price was right - all the other suites anywhere nearby were about $50 more/night. I'd definitely stay again!

My self and nine family members traveled to St Charles in April. We stayed at the Best Western Plus and was extremely please with the hotel. Beds were very comfortable, the indoor pool was ideal for calming and wearing the grand-kids out. It was larger than most hotel pools. The best part of the stay was; the staff. Extremely friendly and knowledgeable about the area. We will diffidently stay again.

I come to this hotel on a monthly basis, staying 3 -4 nights each time. I chose this one because I love old St Charles. Our office, which I visit is in O'Fallon, a quick 8 miles up the road. As long as our office is within a few miles I will continue to visit the St Charles location

Everythingwas perfect. Except the Windows,walls,doors are so cheap you hear Everything! We got no sleep. You hear cars planes motorcycles people talking walkingclosing doors etc . Please use higher quality materials to eliminate more noise.

This was our first of 3 hotels my family stayed at while on spring break in St. Louis and I must say that El-Chan at the front desk was absolutely wonderful. Friendly and helpful and always had a smile. He gave us names/directions of a few close parks to visit while waiting on our rooms to be cleaned. The rooms were good size and kids loved the pool. Breakfast was good. Kids loved making their own waffles. Would have gotten 5 stars but I didn't get my full 10% discount that I was promised due to the late check in related to unclean rooms. Would definitely stay again.

We were warmly welcomed when we arrived late on Saturday. Room were nice, with mini-frig and microwave and plenty of room to move about. On Sunday, we were out for the entire day, returning around 7 pm and found our room had not been cleaned. After contacting the front desk who informed us that none of the housekeepers worked on Sunday, the maintenance person brought us clean towels. Overall, would stay there again for the location and staying within our budget.

Room was very clean, bed was very comfortable. During check in, I was given a welcome package that contained a couple bottles of water, some snacks, shampoo and soap. Nothing special but a nice touch. They also had fruit infused ice water in the lobby along with apples and oranges. Again, nothing special but a nice little touch for their guests.

The room was clean, the staff was friendly and helpful, the breakfast was good. But the shower was abysmal: water pressure was terrible and barely sprayed at all, making getting clean very difficult. Knowing that, it isn't bad. However, I wouldn't want to stay for an extended period because I like being able to quickly and easily get clean.
