Very underwhelmed! Have always thought Best Western had a certain standard to uphold! The whole hotel smelled like marijuana, many transients living there, old outdated and not the level of cleanliness that I have experienced at other Best Westerns. Expected much more for $199 a night!
Bed Bugs, beware! I was attacked in the early morning of October 4, 2024. I found a puffy bed bug next to me in the morning and killed it--full of blood. Later in the day, I found three massively swollen attack areas on my left thigh, which became worse each day thereafter. I will go to urgent care tomorrow, Oct. 8, as I just returned from my trip. Really horrible bites. The hotel staff was fine, and the room appeared clean until the next morning.
This place is under badly needed renovation. The elevator looked like it hadn't been cleaned in weeks and the rest of the hotel was also poorly cleaned and maintained, There was a terrible odor almost everywhere in the rooms and hallways. Would not recommend.
Amazing 😍😍😍 breakfast is delicious! The manager and her staff are above and beyond what most hotels do. They treat you like family!! Beds are Comfortable so you sleep like a baby, the upgraded mirrors and TV set this place above the rest! Thank you for everything 💖💖💖
Very disappointed in the facility. Odor in room, bathroom light flickered constantly and eventually burned out, Paid for a river view upgrade, but there was no visible river, elevator seemed to be having some kind of mechanical issue. Staff, however, was very pleasant and kind. The facility was just not up to typical Best Western standards.
From the moment you walk into the lobby, there is a foul odor throughout this property. It looks and feels less than clean. The elevator makes horrible, creaking noises going up and down. We stayed three nights because we were in town for a wedding. From the minute we walked into our room, it smelled of stale cigarettes and marijuana. The front desk staff also smelled of marijuana. We won't stay here again.
Came here to check on availability because the hotel I had reserved rooms for, claims I cancelled them (and never did.) Well, Best Western made my day! The lady and gentleman at the front desk were amazing, friendly and nice. They got me two rooms I needed right away, and made me laugh the whole time I was checking in. The view is amazing too. If you need a place to stay while in town, this is your best bet!
We were in town for my husband's 50th Class Reunion. It was also the weekend of the Port Huron/Mackinac 100th Sailboat Race! We were pleased with the expense of this hotel. The staff was professional, friendly and kind. They were very attentive to the breakfast area. They made sure the food was stocked and enjoyable. The hotel is conveniently located. We will stay at the Port Huron Best Western again if needed!
One of the best experiences as a hotelier and was very pleased with the staff being so friendly courteous and profession. This property is much better than the local Holiday inn
Casey the front desk clerk was their upon arrival. Very good on the phone when we called to check on availability and very personable and professional when we arrived. He seemed very good at multitasking. Morning another person was working and she was likewise very professional and courteous. Rooms are large with tall ceilings very clean. The workers seem to really take pride in their work and the facilities.
This was a great place to stay. Everything was clean and the breakfast was excellent. The pool was clean but could have been warmer. The beds were very comfortable. Everything in the room was in good condition and working well.
Best hotel that we have ever been to for a hockey tournament. Veronica and the team were absolutely amazing, they felt like family over the weekend. The hotel is in need of a renovation but we didn't care. Hotel was very clean and the staff were outstanding. Beds were comfortable and clean. Windows also open in the rooms, so was nice to have fresh air as well. There was always fresh coffee and snacks. There was hot breakfast with eggs, bacon, waffles, fruit every morning. Lobby was great for hanging out. We also rented their meeting room for the weekend which was a great space for the boys (12-13 year olds) to play. There is a pool as well, but we didn't use it so can't comment.
Staff were exceptionally friendly and the beds were very comfortable. Considering how much noise the U13 hockey team were making and their parents on the last evening everyone was very tolerant 🤦🏻♂️ only negative was breakfast
Staff here was super helpful and accommodating. We were there for the Silver Stick hocket tournament, and our entire group was happy with the choice. The front desk, breakfast and cleaning staff were all super friendly. Thankyou!
Everything was absolutely perfect! Everyone was so nice and welcoming. The room was spacious and clean. Definitely coming back! Big comfy bed, nice big 55" tv to watch a movie. nice hot delicious breakfast with many different varieties to choose from, also love the coffee
We have stayed here many many times, prior to covid. This was never the ritz hotel, but the price was right and the location is good for us. Well the price and location remain good, but the hotel has gone downhill. It doesn't seem very clean, smokers live in the hotel on the main floor (very smelly hall and birds chirping from inside the room) the room and everything about this hotel is old and worn out. Bad parking lot too. Breakfast was cold, not replenished, and poor quality. Staff was very friendly, but sorry BW Port Huron, but we will stay elsewhere the next time we visit Port Huron.
Best Western in port huron is one of the best hotels I've been to in my life they are clean the staff are amazing very nice big rooms the staff are very besst hotel in port huron very understanding
Great hotel, very clean, amazing staff that was always friendly and helpful, breakfast was delicious every morning, the GM was nothing but friendly and helpful in every way, easy check in and check out
The room were clean and the food was delicious and the beds was definitely comfortable and the staff members are fast and on top of things the room service was amazing and I would recommend go back and other people who hasn't been here I recommend you to come here
Veronica had a welcoming Smile when we arrived. She was very accommodating and we had excellent service!:) The breakfast was amazing. the Front desk agent's seem to work very well with each other :) will stay again in the future.
Had a great stay at Best Western! Just a lil get away for the weekend! Veronica is great! Anything we needed she got us! I would stay again! Great area lots of restaurants close. Port Huron is great to explore!
We were disappointed from the time we drove up. Parking lot is in terrible shape and the building looks just old on the outside. The photos on the Best Western site are old as they do not show the condition it is now. Bathroom floor was dirty and carpet made your feet black. The place has a old smell like it needs to be aired out. Elevator sounds like it should be in a haunted house with it's creaking door and bang when it hits the bottom floor. The breakfast area seemed like they were trying to put out just enough to feed those in there. At over $400 for 2 nights it is totally unacceptable. I would never book this hotel again.
Alot of locals and seemed a bit sketchy....people were very friendly. Taps did not work properly in the room. Would not shut off or had to tinker with them to shut off. Strange overwhelming smell in the room. Didn't smell dirty, but I feel as though it needs to be aired out or something. Bed was very comfortable.
Nice quiet comfortable bed, big 55' television, even they have LED mirror. Staff is very welcoming and accommodating, great recommendations for dinner, we had Cracker Barrell which was right across the street with great food.
An overnight stop before heading into Canada. Always try to stay at Best Westerns & rolled in without reservations. Greeted by "Ron" & was given a lovely room. The area is quiet, clean, updated & a nice "Cracker Barrel" restaurant within walking distance. Bed was comfy & everything was clean & efficient. Will return if in the area.
The hotel claimed to have a resent remodel but I'm unsure what was remodeled. The common areas were grubby, particularly the entrance to the elevator. The elevator itself was scary. It would make strange noises and bang twice as it arrived on the first floor. The location was convenient but not worth the poor quality of the place. As a frequent Best Western consumer my last 4 stays in Best Western have been less than desirable.
Rundown, dirty, dingy, stale-smelling. No promised river view that extra was paid for. Didn't want to eat there, ride the elevator or touch anything. Room was pretty clean, although run down and old-looking. Constant loud air conditioner, or unit of some sort, running day and night. Many downfalls to this place! (Our check-in girl was friendly and helpful.)
Clean, fresh bed. Quiet room. Refreshing pool. Excellent breakfast. Wonderful customer service. Great location. We were on the Garage Sale Trail and this was the perfect place to wrap up a long, busy day.
We needed a place to stay in the first leg of our trip to Stratford, Ontario. We left after work on a Friday from Grand Rapids to Port Huron. The Tesla charger did not work but the J1772 charger did so that was excellent. All the staff was friendly. But - this Best Western needs a lot of updating in the rooms, hallways and lobby. Also a bit of a musty smell. On the other hand - very close to the bridge going into Canada!
Very welcoming and friendly staff. Some of our sheets had stains on them. And the ice machine was broken. It was a quiet hotel. Comfortable bed. Water pressure was fabulous, however the curtain was short and let water get on the floor. Breakfast was tasty and fresh. They were bringing things out all the time. Overall really good for an overnight stay!
This BW staff has always been kind and thoughtful. I stay here a several times a year and know I'll always have a clean room and a warm bed. Coffee always available downstairs. Breakfast is replenished and kept hot. Yum!
This staff has worked hard to maintain a decent looking facility. Staff was very accommodating and friendly. Best hotel bed I have slept in for a long time! The building is a bit small and older but it smelled clean, looked clean and met out expectations.
I was here 6 years ago and was satisfied.unfortunately not now.immediately hit with damp odour when we entered the room.possibly the ac or the carpet.observations there was paint splatters on the dirty chair in the corner and the bathroom door and floor.tub stained.wiped something brown off the wall by the sink.the hallway and stairwell needed vacuuming bad.yes upgrade on the mirror and tv but ended there.also phone not working.the good was the man at the front desk very friendly and came right away to get the new TV programed and offered to replace the phone and the beds were comfortable which brings the rating from a 1 to a 2..
Nice quieter location. Room was clean and free of odor. It was redone and clean, but the painting was not done well and curtains and closet cover had paint spatter on them. Dog was welcomed and there is a large grassy area to walk dogs very close. Breakfast was good with hot items available. The only thing I didn't like was the cigarette smoke odor that was very strong in the hallways. My guest room did not have this odor.
Inexpensive, clean, good breakfast. I have stayed here several times over three years and have always left pleased with my choice. Management seems to keep the place up and they value their customers.
Great hot food, and they continue to make sure improvements which the hotel is looking nicer and you feel safer. Staff is very friendly and right there if you need a helping hand. I would give 10 stars if I could
Veronica and her staff provide an amazing experience during my stay. Veronica went out of her way to make sure I was completely satisfied with my stay. The Breakfast was very good and the cleaning crew made sure to go above and beyond to make sure that my room and the entire facility was clean.
We love our stay here because it provides a comfortable and convenient place to stay when we want a short getaway for shopping or just to relax. Veronica, the manager, went out of her way to welcome us back, introducing us to her staff and telling us about the upgrades - which were very noticeable. We were very pleased to have a room upgrade, and though we didn't use the sofabed or extra TV, simply being acknowledged with an extra kindness will keep us coming back. Our room had everything we have come to expect in terms of cleanliness, space, comfort, all the toiletries, great towels and a very comfortable bed. As well, breakfast was delicious - the usual hotel included fare - but the scrambled eggs were awesome. The breakfast room is across from reception and part of the main foyer with comfortable and convenient tables. We could see the upgrades in the newly painted hallway, clean rugs and the freshened elevator. We didn't use the pool this time, as it is always a little colder than we'd like. Hopefully a heated pool or a hot tub is in the works for the next set of upgrades!
This hotel is in a bad and unsafe location. In the 30 mins we were there we were approached by a drug dealer, witnessed gang activity and solicitors. The lobby was sub par, asked for a pack and play that smelled like gasoline and so did the room. The room was disgusting, warped shelves, grime in the grout, stained carpet, rusty luggage rack and bathroom smelled as if it had not been cleaned. There were crumbs all over the bed under the sheets and we had insects (i.e. spiders) crawling on the wall. We left immediately. This should NOT be the #2 hotel in the Port Huron area. If you want a better and safer stay, go to the DoubleTree by Hilton. It is much safer, cleaner and well worth the extra money for the family.
The manager was great and the staff was friendly. Breakfast was awesome I loved the waffles. Close to where I needed to be and to the bridge to Canada. I've stayed in the hotel on both of my trips to Port Huron.
We travel to the blue water bridge area every 2 months, and this is "our" place. ALWAYS clean and inviting. Never have we had a issue in 2 years of visiting there. Rooms are nicely decorated, comfortable beds, extremely clean. Lobby is always sparkling. Staff is constantly cleaning. Wish they could come clean my house for me.
Veronica the sales manager was amazing, extremely helpful and went out of her way to accommodate our whole group. Check in was easy and rooms were very clean, other staff were very helpful and friendly. Enjoyed our stay.
Check in was smooth, we were upgraded which was nice to a jacuzzi room with a King bed! We arrived early and we were able too check in early, which was nice! Staff was friendly and helpful! Just off the highway easy to find, like 2 mins into the USA! No bells and whistles, just a standard hotel, but clean! Bed was comfy, slept like a baby! Fridge and microwave was great to have available, we used both! Crackel Barrel was across the street, we ate their and it was delicious! Thank you Rogers & Desiree for making our first trip away from home comfortable & clean since Covid 19
Stayed at this hotel while in Michigan for a family reunion. Clean and comfortable, nice staff and decent breakfast in the morning. Great pool and decent pool hours, used to have a children's play structure. Would definitely recommend for inexpensive and pleasant stay.
Good location, really soft comfortable beds . They updated tvs to 50" , which is great. Awesome wonderful staff made sure you had everything needed for a comfortable stay. Also have really good Folgers coffee . I come to Port Huron for appointments and will always choose Best Western
Entire staff is welcoming on top notch with customer service. Entire hotel looked and smelled clean. Our room was clean as well. Great selection of hot & cold breakfast items. Lobby is warm & inviting.
We attended with a group who rented several rooms for two nights. The front desk and the breakfast personnel were exceptional. Very accommodating and friendly making sure all of our needs were met. They even offered us bottled water when they could see that we needed that which was more appreciated then they probably realized.
Upon arrival we were greeted with a party in the parking lot that didn't end until the rain came 3 days later. There was so much "activity" it made guests feel unsafe entering and exiting the property. I asked the front desk about and and was told "I don't like it but can't do anything about it". If you get the renovation done, spruce the place up a bit, and clean up whatever is going on with the 3-4 party cars you will get more visitors. This is the basis for the 1 star rating. The location is great.
Staff was very friendly and helpful. Sheets and towels smelled good and we're clean. Put the facility, which is undergoing some renovation, is old and very tired. Complementary breakfast was very good and had a lot of things to choose from. Pool temperature was about 76° instead of the 85° it was supposed to be at.
Lobby and hallways dirty, doors in the lobby stayed propped open all day, staff going in and out getting in a parked car in the parkinglot. Staff yelling across the lobby to one another. Elevator had very strong odor.
Always a pleasure to stay at this hotel, the manager is very friendly and welcoming. Breakfast is always hot and there is a good variety of items to satisfy every ones needs. TV's are big AC is good, and wifi always fast. We will of course be back.
We were greeted by Veronica who was incredibly helpful getting us checked in. The hotel room was spotless and smelled clean upon entering. Equipped with King bed, nightstands, desk, lamp, drawers, microwave and a new 55 inch TV we wanted for nothing. BONUS our room came with a view of the river and lush greenway. Very peaceful and inviting.
It seemed like the rooms were not cleaned very well. One of our bathroom towels had some crud on it. It seemed like it was more of a hotel for poor people to live, and it also seemed like the front desk staff's family or friends were just hanging out there and mooching off of the snacks that are supposed to be paid for. When my husband was looking for a pen in the computer drawers in the lobby, he found socks and a bunch of trash stuffed in them instead. In the middle of the night, there was a really strange loud noise that woke me up (it sounded like maybe it was coming from the plumbing), which occurred twice. My mother-in-law said they had that happen in their room as well. The elevator seemed slightly unsafe to ride (the door opened & closed very slowly and with a squeaking noise), and it seemed very rickety when riding it. It is sad to see the hotel like this, because overall, the hotel itself is in good condition, it's just not being maintained well at all.
As soon as I had checked in a worker was right there to assist my every needs. The manager is also very into her guest as she was always right there and not behind a desk like most managers would be but this one actually interacts with the guest and wants to introduce herself to every guest that I there which I find it very amazing she actually cares
Great hot breakfast with many choices, scrambled eggs, potatoes, sausage, cereal and the best part you can make your own waffles , loved the danishes, wonderful staff. Comfortable beds, coffee all night . Warm heated pool.
The check-in staff was very helpful. Asked if we needed restaurant recommendations. Also offered to help us with our luggage but we politely turned him down. Now for the issues. Our key cards didn't work for our room so he came upstairs to assist. After using his master key on the door our cards worked. Our toilet plunger chain was broken and so toilet was running constantly. We brought it to the staff's attention and he moved us to a different room. The next room had a running toilet but it would still flush. There was paint peeling above the ac/heat unit and looked suspicious of mold. The shower head sprayed water all over the wall and then would run down onto the floor. All of the issues were told to staff on check-out.
We love coming to this motel. We come to this motel at least two times a year when we can. The service has always been great. The different rooms we've had over the years that we have come here have been good.
My reservation was a week prior, but wasn't informed until arrival that locals aren't welcome.I had to disclose private info to resolve.A guest's credit card info was out & visible. But room was clean
Clean and Nice view/location. Didn't hear a thing during the night. The rooms are old but the furniture is in good condition and clean. It was easy to find and not too far from the main highways. Overall it was alright for a night.
Not a very nice spot. Parking lot is horrible, only restaurant near is Cracker Barrel. To me it appeared as a slummy hotel, nothing like I expected. Our friends when they checked in couldn't find our room, because they had our name down wrong and they thought we must have left and went to another hotel
First impression for this best western was negative. The parking lot and hotel entrance is in disrepair. It appears like its in the getto. That said, the employees were vere helpfull and nice. The rooms were clean, the beds comfortable, and the breakfast was nice enough. Once you get over the first impression, you will enjoy your stay.
I forgot my prescription glasses there and Laura sent them to my home at no charge! She and the rest of the staff there have made loyal customers out of us! Thank you all for being so amazing, we will be sure to tell everyone!
The staff was extremely friendly. The rooms were clean and well kept. We had an issue with a low smoke alarm battery. They had someone up to fix it within 10 minutes of calling the front desk. Would definitely recommend this hotel for anyone staying in the area.
One of the finest hotels in St clair county. The staff here helps with any problems if there is any and are very friendly. They keep the place clean and all the staff are very helpful and friendly I would recommend this place to anyone.
Enjoyed my stay. Location was perfect to the border of Canada. Rooms were cleaned , workers was friendly and kept the lobby clean and fresh smelling will stay again. Also got the pleasure to meet the GM she was a sweet heart
The bed was extremely comfy. The room was HUGE, especially the bathroom. We chose a king room with whirlpool. The whirlpool could use some attention and the furniture could be updated, but all in all, it was a good price for a nice weekend away and it was easy to get to.
The Staff was very friendly and helpful. The Room was nice and clean. Free Wifi. So glad to have a Hot breakfast again. Fitness centre was great with a bike treadmill, elliptical and weights. Pool! Close to the border.
We would definitely recommend this hotel. It is also conveniently located to Cracker Barrel and Bob Evans as well as Menards. Rooms are clean and spacious. King Size Mobility Room had excellent roll in shower and large desk.
This hotel was a great place for our hockey team to stay primarily due to the accommodating staff. They allowed our team numerous uses of the meeting room which kept the kids in a location where they would have fun and not disturb other guests. The rooms were clean and the staff made sure our needs were met. The breakfast was very good and the location was super. Veronica and her staff clearly put a lot of effort into making their guests the priority.
This was one of the lowest price hotels in the area for the date we stayed.. I read all the great reviews before I booked it We were pleasantly surprised. Ron checked us in nice and easy and in the morning we had some special needs and Veronica was eager to please We will definitely be back!
This is the second time my family has stayed at this motel. I travel 7 hours one way for my son's medical procedure every 10 weeks. Well let's just say i found my home away from home. The place is sparkling clean and i am a nurse and inspect all areas!! The staff is top notch down to earth, friendly and family orientated people. I would highly suggest this place. I have stayed at other area motels and they don't compare!!!!
Very friendly outgoing staff and nice hot breakfast. Veronica and staff are wonderful , make sure you have everything you need for a comfortable stay and get a nice hot breakfast in the morning. Veronica is a wonderful person with a big heart and other staff members are very friendly that go above and beyond their job duties
I am a public figure and, after many days of being in charge of things at work, I need a safe getaway to recharge my batteries. I have found an XLNT solution to help me with that. BWPH never disappoints. Thank you BW for hiring the right people to run such a complicated business.
I've never traveled with my pet before and was worried about it. The stay was great! The room was clean and free from any hair or odor of previous pet guests and the staff was wonderful! I would recommend this as a place to stay for all.
Dirty, tired and noisy. This was a huge disappointment. All of the pet owners are confined to one area creating even more mayhem. The shower was filthy and the toilet was clogged. Breakfast was mediocre, and the coffee was vile. This hotel needs a complete do-over.
This hotel is located so close to many attractions that it is a true value. Awesome hot breakfast! Pool and a park nextdoor. Great value! The beds are very comfortable and the bedding is high quality. Friendly staff and easy check in. Become a BW rewards member for extra privileges.
Veronica was spectacular! I had spoken with her on the phone several times to book a hotel block for my wedding. She was always friendly and helpful. Upon arrival she went above and beyond to make sure that my room was extra clean as requested and even got rose petals for the bed since it was for our wedding! She made check in easy and allowed us to check in early. She allowed the bridal party to use the conference room to play games and was very accommodating. Her customer service made our stay wonderful. Could not praise her enough.
My family stayed here for a little get away we rented a ofcouple rooms with a few kids one of which is autistic. We had a noise complaint at 7 pm which surprisingly our little crew was very well behaved and upon speaking with the front desk they also knew that the complaint was ridiculous . the front desk worker was very kind and professional and later we found out it was another family down further that was alittle louder then normal . we brought our kids to swim and play eat pizza relax and have fun . the couple stated it sounded like we were moving furniture . if you stay in a hotel and u know there could be familys with children and you need to sleep ask to be put into a room that is quite they also asked if u would like to be moved and u denied the invitation . We paid to stay just like everyone else and we were very respectful . besides the karens below us . i want to say the room was very clean and i personally inspected the bed and under the sheets because well i get weirded out at hotels and alot make me itchy ! I did not have a problem at all ! Our bathroom was also very clean and fridge and ac worked great . the pool i was so pleasantly superised for because it wasnt hot like bath water it was cool but not freezeing and it was clean but not over treated . we previously stayed at Hampton on water and their pool bleached all our swim suits and eyes and the holiday inn pool are was so hot and over chemicaled . Veronica the manager check us out and she is sooo super kind and genuinely cared about our stay and satisfaction . she is striving to provide people with the very best stay possible and is doing her best to meet any needs . they also have a machine to keep bed bugs and gross critters away that other hotels in our area do not provide. I will deff recommend this hotel and i personally will stay there again many many times to come !!! Thank you for having us Best Western !!! They have the nicest workers Ive meet in surrounding hotels they make you feel so welcome .
Very nice hotel. Nice staff. Totally excellent breakfast the next day. Very nice bathroom, bed, linens. Nice appliances in the room! Good sized fridge, microwave, and coffee maker. I had my dog also in a pet room and the room was very clean. No odors upon arrival.
The manager Veronica was very welcoming she met all my needs and made sure I had everything I needed and she was very awesome with my children, also I seen how she treated her employees like family and always checked on them, most managers do not do that I even seen her eat lunch with her housekeepers and just conversated with them. She is more about her guest and employees then anything and I just felt like it was home and I loved that. Also she is very very clean and that is awesome and her front desk workers are also the best with welcoming any guest. And the breakfast was soooo good and nice and hot and fresh which the other hotels are bagged breakfast so yes everything was perfect and I definitely recommend anyone to go there thank you best Western employees for making me feel welcomed. If any thing ask for Veronica or Brandy they are the best
The property falls short on hygiene as candy goo was present on door handles and was there for the duration of our 4 night stay. I think you can buy drugs in the parking lot and the hotel exterior doors were always propped open with bottles. There was a fair amount of yelling and fighting on the property and the police were called. A significant amount of smoking at the hotel entrance.
Veronica and her staff are top notch. Breakfast selection is great, lobby always clean and welcoming. The hotel is maintained very well, housekeeping is always seen and working. Front desk staff very friendly and talkative.
The hotel clerk gave us a room that was already occupied! Boy, that man was surprised when I open his room door! Plus, as a Gold member, the website says we should receive an welcome bag (has bottled water & snacks), or 500 extra points; we didn't get either! - - - Room was clean. No issues. Hotel just began serving hot breakfast again (after Covid), and it was staffed and well stocked with food.
I have worked and stayed in many hotels. This one deserves five stars in all categories. Veronica actually came to lead me to the hotel when I was lost trying to find it. Ron was great too. All the other staff were very helpful. The pool area and breakfast areas are lovely. I was very pleased with my room and it's amenities. The bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was scrambled eggs and hash browns with individual packages of wrapped blueberry muffins. Yogurt was available too along with bottles of water. Usually there is toast, but because of the pandemic it wasn't available. So book your stay and enjoy beautiful Port Huron, Michigan
This is a great and friendly hotel to stay at. The staff is very friendly and helpful , wonderful people. I have been staying here for awhile and they've been very caring and they make sure you're stay as comfortable as possible. Veronica is a very sweet, down to earth person and makes you feel at home.
refusing service to all residents of the Port huron area highly discriminatory and when asked about it they were extremely nasty we were refused a room after paying for it online and td it because we resided in 48060 zip code
Staff here was great. People were friendly. Thanks Veronica!, (she rocks)!! Rooms were not that great but staff was fabulous!!!!!! They went above and beyond what their job entitles. They should be recognized by upper management!
I am a frequent visitor at this hotel. Most of the time it is for pleasure - sometimes business. Either way, it is always a very nice stay. It is central to shopping, restaurants, local interests, and of course, the water is always a relaxing attraction.
Hockey tournament weekend with family. Good location. Maybe Covid was a factor, but entire building was in need of some deep cleaning and minor maintenance. It didn't qualify as a 3 star hotel. But I have to say, staff was super friendly.
Due to covid the buffet isn't available, but Veronica makes breakfast sandwiches that are to die for. Ronald was a lot of help with my families luggage and helped us to our room. The hotel is very clean and friendly. The first impression entering the hotel was that of cleanliness and warmth. The rooms were clean and enjoyable. The pool was clear and warm to swim in. If I had one thing to change it would be the TV, it needs to be bigger (lol) my old eyes. Thank you Veronica and staff I'll be recommending Your place to all my friends.
Fri check-in was nice. Great customer service. Fri nite was nice front desk checked on us in pool area. Guy was nice as always. Called about fridge not working he fixed immediately. Sat am veronica was super nice as she was fri. Sat night came in asked for late checkout. Guy said ok. I went to room. Sunday im woken by housekeeper knocking about checkout. I said late checkout. He apologized and said have good day. I sent son down for milk and muffin. He said lady was rude at desk and said they are out. She didnt get up to even look for items. Very upset how spoke to son. At 11:15am phone ramg i answered and lady on other end sounded with attitude was i checking out. I said yes but requested late checkout. She hung up. I normally rate 5 and am happy with stay but sunday was not called for. Not happy with customer service nor no breakfast.
The staff at the Best Western Port Huron were friendly and helpful enough. But this is not a good hotel for families. We were told at check-in that the hotel consists mostly of long-term residents and it shows. Lots of sketchy characters milling around the parking lot. Our hallway and stairwell reeked of a mixture of marijuana and cigarette smoke the entire weekend. Our room had been sprayed heavily with air freshener and it was clear that multiple substances had been smoked in it prior to our stay. The room was actually OK but the hallways and main areas were dingy and in need of some serious care. Didn't look like the carpets were vacuumed all that often. Just didn't feel very safe or comfortable during our stay.
Hotel was clean, very accommodating, the breakfast was Amazing even during covid, the morning staff are truly just an amazing team. The rooms were very spacious, absolutely loved the jacuzzi, comfortable bed, fast internet, just a really enjoyable stay
During my stay here my fiancé and I were here for his career. We had a very shotty schedule due to his line of work and they worked greatly with us on it. I was able to extend my stay and shorten it without any penalties. The staff was super helpful with food recommendations as well.
Veronica was very friendly and helpful with a speedy check-in. Because of COVID restrictions, the complimentary breakfast and pool were closed, so we received a discount. Our room was comfy, clean and spacious. The shower pressure was great, and that is a biggie with me. The bed was softer than I would have liked, but I like a very firm mattress because of my back. Every staff member was courteous and helpful. The hotel is centrally located to everything. Am glad that I joined as a rewards member and we will definitely be booking BWs in future trips. We had a very positive experience at this hotel.
This is a very nice place to stay. It is located in an area with lots of restaurants, and a waterfront that you cannot find anywhere else. The staff is very helpful. The amenities are always in order. During the Coronavirus period, some things are slightly limited - as they are in all places. Still - do go.
Veronica treats us like family and we stay here every time we are in the area. Always a great service experience with desk and cleaning staff. Great coffee and muffins too. Only suggestion is to add a hot breakfast choice. With Covid-19 limited options are understandable, but a heat and eat option like a breakfast sandwich to heat in my room would be appreciated. Rooms are clean and beds are comfortable.
We were forced to stay here due to a power outage at our house in the hottest days of summer. It was like a mini-vacay. The rooms were comfortable and CLEAN. Fridge & microwave. Desk staff was accommodating and helpful. Due to the COVID19 regulations, the pool is closed for now & breakfast is just “grab and go” (yogurt, BIG muffins & fruit), but we liked it. Shower water pressure was excellent. The towels were fluffy and absorbent. We had to stay here before under similar circumstances and they still have the slowest elevator I've ever been on. Someone had obviously been smoking weed and then rode the elevator because that smell just LINGERED in there (an exhaust fan would be nice).
I am so happy we chose this hotel. We dont normally chose BWs but we were looking for a place to stay that would take dogs. The prices was great and they were happy to accept our dog. Upon arrival, i was impressed to see how this hotel went above and beyond to make guest feel safe during this pandemic. There was a glass partition, a table to in front of guest services to ensure social distancing and a table for sanitizing. The room was really clean. I usually go and do a deep inspection of our room - checking trim and beds for cleanliness. Very clean room, not just a surface clean. We felt safe to stay there. It was quiet all night and the beds were comfortable. There is also a great little park just behind the hotel for kids to run off steam. Thanks to Paul - we will stay there again!
Have stayed here before several times with no problems. This time all we had is problems. We arrived to our room to find a half repaired sink project. Then we found a syringe left by a prior guest. Then our key card would never open our door unless we went down to have it reprogrammed for the entire three night stay. Then one morning breakfast was not available until after 9:30 AM. Not a pleasant stay this time around. We will try again next time.
The photos of this hotel are misleading. The rooms are dusty, dirty and smelly. Stay away. Photos attached. We slept in our clothes as the place was so unclean and filled with occupants slamming doors, smoking in hallway and screaming at the top of their lungs. The desk staff leave between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m. so anything goes.
The staff was on point! Very kind and willing to help. Rooms are very clean. Beds are great and comfortable. Cleaning staff was very nice and helpful. The breakfast bar was not up and running due to Covid19 but had muffins and juice ready for you in a baggie.
Upgraded and clean rooms. Hotel is convenient to activities and major roadways. Friendly staff. Did not eat breakfast at the hotel, but breakfast looked good with both hot and cold items. Would stay at this hotel again.
The staff and service is awesome very clean and helpful. I would recommend this place to family and friends. Rooms are very nice and clean. It is a good location as well. They have the best prices in this area.
Slept late, room did not get made up. Desk clerk wasn't too perturbed about it when I told him about it, just went an got the fresh towels I asked for. Made our second night less relaxed than the first. Hopefully just an anomaly, we'll see how the next stay goes
The front desk staff was truly very kind and helpful. They went above and beyond and exceeded out expectations. The rooms were very clean and comfortable for a very reasonable price. There are some flaws but the cleanliness and service make up for a few minor cosmetics things. My only suggestion to the property is please move your outside smoking area away from the main entrance. That is the only downfall about the hotel.
We love staying at this hotel for little getaways every couple of months. Rooms are great, very clean and well appointed. Close to shopping and restaurants. Front desk staff Veronica is lovely always helpful and accommodating. Breakfast has good choices and great food. Would highly recommend staying at this hotel.
Staff were great. Location was excellent. The rooms were not nice. Lighting in bathroom was non existent. Bathroom smelled of stale cigarettes . Smell was very overwhelming to the point made you feel nauseous.
Super Clean everywhere, great staff,!!!!! always super friendly!!!!! always stay here and have used their meeting rooms, I can not say enough about the staff here and I travel all over. close to express way
We enjoy staying in Port Huron at the Best Western. It is handy to Cracker Barrel and Bob Evans restaurants. These are within walking distance if the weather is good. We find the staff very helpful and accommodating. We have received an upgrade several times.
We stayed at this hotel for The International Silver Stick hockey tournament and were blown away by the friendly and accommodating service of the staff. The hotel itself is a little older but it is very clean and comfortable. The cleaning staff are also extremely hard working and friendly. would highly recommend this hotel if you need to stay in the Port Huron area. The hospitality we were shown over the weekend will not be forgotten! Thank you!!
Helpful/friendly staff, close to highway within driving distance to beach, many restaurants and shops. Comfortable beds and clean room, breakfast was good would recommend, will be back when in the area.
we stayed here boxing day night. We were able to check in early because we are members. We also got 500 free points and express check out. no-one was in the pool but it looked inviting. i couldn't go in because of a cast on my arm. They have re-done the lobby which now holds more people I believe. breakfast was good but the woman cooking couldn't keep up with the demand. The girl at the front desk was so helpful and friendly. We like this spot because it's right close to the border and shopping.
Really great value. Lovely staff. Good breakfast. The person who checked us in made sure our 3 rooms were together even though our reservation didn't state that they be together. Made our family holiday even better.
Friendly and accommodating staff, clean room, average breakfast The only thing was the pillows were not comfortable so next stay we will bring our own. definately our family would stay there again when we are needing a room this area
We have been staying at this hotel for over 5 years and enjoy the cleaness of the hotel. The location is close to all shopping and restraunts. the hotel staff are super. Very knowledgable with interests in the area. The breakfast is always good to start your day.
This Best Western is clearly an older construction, but they have done everything to update it to something feeling fairly modern. Lobby and room decor is very modern (feels like a Marriott Courtyard). Mattresses on the beds were amazing. I usually have some back soreness when I wake up but nothing for two nights in a row. Whatever brand they purchased is fantastic. Complimentary breakfast was fine. Exactly what you would expect and what was supposed to be hot actually was. I would stay at this location again if I am in the area. Pleasantly surprised.
Rooms were great and clean. Lobby was clean, a lot of chairs. Food was good..however lady in the morning had touched breakfast bagels/biscuits with bare hands and that's a heck no for me!! Sloooowww internet couldn't connect for the first 1.5 days Overall staff was incredible.
This folks that work in this hotel are always helpful and accomodating. It's always clean and the service is spot on. Thank you for your efficiencies. The breakfast is great and has lots to choose from.
This is a well kept hotel with a friendly check in, coffee 24 hours and excellent breakfast, we went at a quieter time of year but still fairly busy Christmas shoppers! Our room was quiet and very clean! Front desk very helpful with directions and reccomendations. Cracker barrel RIGHT across the street. Rooms well kept.
the motel needs some work the pool area was good but would have been nice with a hot tub the motel staff was very friendly let us use breafast area for gradsons birthday cake and ice cream breakfast is ok this is one of the better motels for the area Hoiliday inn would have been nicer it is new.
this hotel is a very convenient location and good value for the money, Breakfast is included and very good, coffee is available 24 hours, pool looked inviting staff were very friendly and helpful, would stay here again
Very convenient to highways . Clean and comfortable . Nice hot breakfast and nice indoor pool . We stayed here while visiting family . It's so nice to go to your own room rather than impose on family (and give them a break too )
We have stayed here several times and will continue to stay there when in Port Huron. During our last stay we had a Grandson asking to stay with us last minute. I requested a roll away bed and Ron to the rescue. We needed clean bedding Ron to the rescue. The TV wouldn't work and Ron the front desk clerk to the rescue! Not the first time he helped us during our stays and knowing Ron it will not be the last. Thaks Best Western and Ron!
First off, the key card that we were given didn't work, so we went to the front desk and told them. The employee reset the key, so we went back up to the room only to find it already occupied by someone else. So we had to go BACK down and let the front desk know. So they gave us another room, we walked in and it was freezing because the window was left open. There were guests there with kids that they allowed to run up and down the hallway playing laser tag and hockey, they were being SO loud. Not listening to the employees that told them to be quiet. When we got back from our family party, the room was hot so we needed to turn on the air conditioner which didn't work correctly, so we had to open the window up. We were woken up by some loud guests at 7 am that were outside. Just a total nightmare, so much for a quiet weekend vacation.
The hotel is Located close to highway / Freeway, so its quick to get in and out. Its in a quiet neighborhood, Good river view, Restaurant around serves good food, I had good sleep, no noise from the hallway, Breakfast ( free) was average, but decent.
I will never stay here again. The person who checked me in screwed up my check-in, charged my credit card even though I booked on points. The owner walked into my room about half hour after I checked in and acted like I was the one who shouldn't have been there, then called to ask if I had changed room and wanted me to again verify who I was. They deactivated my room keys so I couldn't get in the room when I returned late at night. The elevator also made a horrible sound like it was going to get stuck between floors. We decided to take the stairs after the first trip up. The only bright spots during the stay were the lady who reactivated my door keys and the man who checked me out. Both were very professional and courteous.
We always stay at this hotel because we find it over all good for what we are looking for. The only thing this last stay was the pool is not watched close enough . I don't think parents should be drinking beer in the pool area when their children are swimming.
I've stayed here many times and it is always clean, friendly and good breakfast. Very close to the bridge for Canada and also to Cracker Barrel if you are looking for a meal close by. Quite area overall
The hotel was great: clean, comfortable bed, nice rooms, and hot breakfast. The staff was great and friendly. Easy check in and out. Very beautiful property. Also near some restaurants. Easily accessible to the highway and border.
Arrived to find those bugs on the bed that come out when bedding is damp. Once I killed those tried to turn the tv on and it wouldnt work. Called the front desk and they flipped a switch and it turned on. However once he left the buttons and the remote didnt work not even the volume but was to frustrated to call the front desk AGAIN. At breakfast the next morning we forgot our room key and so we spoke to the front desk and they didnt beleive we were who we said.. somehow their was a different phone number on the profile than I had. I had the confirmation email, I asked for different questions I could answer. The front desk walked us to our room and had to knock, and yell into the room and it was really embarrassing like they diddnt beleive us. The guy said "IF this is your room, I'll need you to find your ID" I found my drivers license and showed it to the guy. He made a really bad joke about how my drivers license picture was ugly! I was extremely offended even if it was a joke.. anyways after breakfast I noticed a new set of bugs on the floor.. not sure what kinds those were so we just packed up and left.
Upon arrival my wife and i were appalled at a competitors establishment so we were led to find our stay somewhere else. I called prior and found they were pet friendly, even for my Great Dane and made my way to stay at this Best Western. Arriving here it was being cleaned by the front desk customer service gentlemen because obviously these people are trained correctly and you can tell they want your time to not be wasted with an unsightly environment! Check in was great with becoming a BW rewards member and the absolute best customer service you could get or ask for anywhere! Every front desk member i came in contact with, 2 different ones Saturday and Sunday, and 1 different on Monday, all 3 were of great attitudes and excellent customer service! They are why I'm only staying here in the area, and at Best Westerns from now on!
Rooms were very clean, staff was accommodating to any needs we had. We had a view of the river out our window. Breakfast was hot/cold. Eggs were powdered though and not good. Overall a good place very closely located to downtown and St Clair River. Would stay again.
We are traveling with our little fur baby and stayed here because the hotel is pet friendly. The only strange thing is all of the pet rooms are in the 2nd floor causing all pet parents to take their animals down the stairs or elevator. You might think “why is this a big deal ?” Lots of fur babies definitely don't like elevators and some don't like stairs and it makes it inconvenient to take them out for a break. Otherwise, room was clean and comfy and breakfast was okay.
We spent 2 days in Port Huron while looking at real estate properties. We traveled with our German Shepherd and this hotel was centrally located with easy access to main roads and interstates. Plenty of dog walking areas, plenty of free parking, great breakfast, clean rooms and comfortable beds. We've stayed here before, already have our next reservation booked and would recommend to friends and family.
I would recommend this hotel for fast overnight stays and is close to the border. The fridge was froze up but if not using it is not a problem. This is an older hotel but the breakfast is very good and the rooms are quite clean and beds are very comfortable.
We had a very clean room. King size bed very comfortable. Good thick comforter. Very quiet, not noisy at all. Shower was great- hot hot water. Awesome continental breakfast. We will use this place again.
Stayed 3 nights with family and highly recommend it. Rooms were clean and comfortable with a great view of the river. Breakfast had lots of tasty choices and was kept well stocked. Front desk clerk Paul was on evenings all 3 nights and could not have been nicer or more helpful. Had a great time.
We had water damage and this is our 2nd time staying here around 2 to 3 weeks at a time. Employees are the best and a welcome feeling. Some say it's outdated. It could be but that doesn't bother us at all. I would stay here anytime. I would recommend it as well.
I made a 2 night reservation at this Best Western, as I like to use it for travel. Great deals and always a good stay. Not this time. Everything just seemed greasy, old, not clean, broken and more. The carpet was filthy. Had to wash my feet before getting into bed - never have done that before. The tile floors seemed sticky. The air seemed moist, and it was NOT humid outside. The AC was either FREEZING or nothing. The microwave didn't work well. The bed was ok. Maid service seemed fine. When I checked in the keys that they gave me didn't work. Didn't even work for their master key. Gave me another room, and the keys worked off and on. The door could only be closed and locked if I slammed it shut. Just didn't fit well. Towels were clean, and refreshed. Closet was dirty, and no door. Just a piece of blue fabric hanging there. JUST FELT LIKE AN INNER CITY, SUPER BUDGET, TRANSIENT HOTEL - not up to BEST WESTERN STANDARDS. I will not be back.
We stopped at this convenient hotel on our way into Canada. Our room had a nice view of the Black River. The room was clean and the beds were comfortable. The guy at the front desk was very welcoming, and then when we wanted help finding the river walk, he was extremely helpful. The breakfast area was roomy and the food was good.
It's a basic hotel we stoped for 1 night on our way to Niagara Falls, room had a bad smell and the sheets felt damp. The bathroom is in need of upgrading, plenty of free parking. The breakfast was very basic but overall it served our purpose as a cheap over night stop.
We had 9 rooms for two evenings this past weekend. From beginning negotiations to the final goodbye - this property delivered! Veronica helped me with the variety of rooms we needed, and made sure everything was in place early on. Upon arrival, every question and/or need was addressed immediately in a friendly and professional manner. Breakfast was great and the front desk was always there and always helpful. The pool was enjoyable as well, and the property is conveniently located to get around the area. I highly recommend these folks!! It's the people who make the difference.
The breakfast was amazing. It was a wide variety of food. The beds we comfy. I loved the blackout curtains. The location was close to so many fun things. The pool was awesome as well as the play ground.
Everything regarding the hotel was exceptional...the room, the service and the breakfast. My only complaint is the misleading advertising. As a Michigan resident I'm familiar with the Blue Water bridge and the boat traffic on the St. Clair River. When you put the hotel forth as the "Best Western Port Huron Blue Water Bridge with river view rooms" one could reasonably assume you'd be able to watch the Great Lakes shipping traffic from your room. Not so. The hotel overlooks the Black River and is some miles from the bridge. Guess I should have zoomed in on the map and looked more closely
At first was a bit skeptical about staying here for the price of the room and how last minute we booked it, but it exceeded our expectations. Check in was right at 3:00 we got a nice room, the only problem that our room had was a leaky shower head that wouldn't stop dripping (but super minor). The breakfast was great in the morning super fresh, and a good variety. Overall for the price and location super great place to stay you won't regret it!
We stayed here for a short one night trip and were pleasantly surprised! Very nice hotel, reminded me more of a Hampton Inn. Good breakfast, clean room, friendly people hanging out in the lobby. Front desk clerks were nice and efficient.
Best place to stay in Port Huron is a Best Western! Clean room, good breakfast, wonderful bed, courteous staff all at an affordable price. We arrived late and the night staff was happy and efficient. Cannot be beat.
The Best Western in Port Huron MI is ideally located right by major highways and near the Blue Water Bridge going to Canada. I chose it as a jumping off point to do scenic byways along Lake Huron. Good choice. The hotel itself was comfortable, clean and up to date. The staff was welcoming and friendly. The services were good. Meal in the morning was available. I had a restful night and a very quiet room. Appreciated it.
Haven't been here in a few years and was AWESOME then and STILL IS!! This is the BEST hotel around for prompt, friendly staff and super clean rooms. Wonderful breakfast bar, pool is NOT freezing cold and there's even a special “lift” for those who have mobility issues and can't navigate the steps into the pool. Pet friendly with NON AGGRESSIVE dogs made my stay so much easier and I felt bad leaving!! Beds, linens etc are clean, comfortable and all around a fantastic place. Under new ownership and they are actually updating but it looks great as it is now. Happy that they're improving and keeping the staff and property as great as before. Definitely worth a stay/visit for business or pleasure. Easy on/off highway and close to everything but quiet enough for relaxing.
Great hotel for shopping in the Port Huron MI area. Friendly service. Very clean and well decorated. Newly renovated lots of parking. Side exit doors do not allow re-entry. Did not follow special instructions for a specific floor.
Excellent service! Veronica was very professional and hospitable. She made us feel most welcome! Our room was great and facility was very clean. Breakfast was very good. Selection was fresh and appetizing. The best hotel for pet friendliness!!
Hotel is close to downtown but far enough away to provide a quiet setting. Older building but very clean and well maintained. I had concerns based on other reviews but either they have really fixed the place up or others expect a five star hotel at two star prices. This hotel has high value for the price! Beds and pillows are very comfortable. Great internet connection. Decent size TV with good cable. Good, well stocked breakfast selection. Common areas, hallways and rooms are all very clean. Desk personnel are friendly and accommodating. I don't know what else you can ask for in a hotel, especially at this price. I will definitely stay here again.
Most unclean best western I have ever stayed at. I will not stay at this best western again. Stayed previous night in Ontario and that one was awesome. I feel like I should be refunded for that night stay.
Room was great! Cheryl was very helpful! Parking for larger vehicles is limited when hotel is booked up! They have a washer and dryer and have detergent and dryer sheets at the front desk for a minimal charge! Over all a very pleasant and affordable hotel!
We walked into the lobby to check in and couldn't because "ALL" the rooms were still dirty. Ok, it was 1 pm., I get that. The lobby area was blocked off with insulation all over the ground from the ceiling caving in. We used the lobby bathrooms and they were filthy. We walked out and went and checked in at a different hotel down the street. I would rather forego the 120 bucks then stay there.
Great place and very friendly staff stayed there two night for shopping and getaway will go back any time clean rooms nice pool was able to check in early with no problem girl at front desk went out of her way to get us in .
Quick check-in even though they were training someone new at the front desk. Room is clean, the mattress is too firm for me, but it may be great for someone else. Breakfast is pretty good, including eggs, sausage, potatoes, waffle iron, cereal etc. It is an older building and the elevator makes some noises. Has a pool, but didn't use it.
This motel is very clean and comfortable. The staff is excellent and does everything possible to accomodatiing their guests. The cleaning staff is delightful and the breakfast is excellent. Choices include scrambled eggs, sausage or bacon, fresh fruit, bagels, muffins, doughnuts, oatmeal, milk, coffee, orange juice and more!
Our group of 17 families booked this hotel for a hockey tournament in Port Huron. The room we stayed in was nice and big and clean as well. The morning breakfast and the two ladies who work here are fantastic. The problems we encountered here revolved around the night manager. After being told at 9pm we were being too loud ( 4 dads were standing in the doorway of their room) we rented a basic room, which we had to pay full price for even though they had a meeting room sitting empty. At 11pm "Ronald" told us we were being too loud and he was going to call the police. If you choose to rent a party room, then you should expect some noise. He was completely inflexible and told us to vacate the room that we had paid for and wouldn't allow us to speak to his manager. We also had the same room booked for the next night and they did not allow us access and still charged us for it! We are not an overly rowdy bunch and all of the other guests were here for the tournament as well so were not expecting lights out at 9pm. Their treatment of their guests is a disgrace and they are not equipped to handle groups. If you are thinking of staying here with a team please reconsider.
We travelled to Port Huron for a hockey tournament we had qualified for. We had 17 families stay here, not by choice - it was the last available hotel that was offered through this tournament. They should not offer their business if they are not able to accommodate families. Their group hotel rates are much higher to profit from us. They do not offer any meeting or social room for our group unless we are willing to pay an extra 65$ for first hour, then 85$ for the second hour but have to be out by 9pm. Many teams stayed at different hotels and all had a great experience. I am sure another hotel would have been more than happy for our business. Some rooms went uncleaned for the whole weekend. They did not want to provide cots although they had them in storage. It was not a "Best" western experience. Not a 'good' experience. Rather a 'bad' Western experience.
We were placed in this hotel for an international hockey tournament and they made us feel very unwelcome. Front desk was rude and unaccomendating. Wouldn't stay here personally, dirty rooms and poor amenities
17 of our families booked this hotel for a hockey tournament in Port Huron. We rented a party room, which we had to pay for. At 11pm Ronnie told us we were being too loud and he was going to call the police. If you choose to rent a party room, then you should expect some noise. Ronnie was completely unreasonable, told us to vacate the room that we had paid for and wouldn't allow us to speak to a manager. If you are thinking of staying here or renting the party room, don't. They take your money, behave completely unreasonably and throw you out of the room you rented. Don't stay here. There are plenty of other hotels in Port Huron.
The staff at the hotel were excellent and extremely courteous and professional. The people that we would like to acknowlwdge are Ronald and Veronica at the front desk. Plus, the housekeeping person that inspects the rooms helped expedite the process to allow us to move into the upgrade room (324) . All of these people went above and beyond for us. Thank You very much. Ronald (evening front desk person) always seemed to be working hard keeping the front entrance area clean. Everytime we were in that area he was always assisting a customer or mopping the floors in that area. Hard workers such as her are rare indeed.
Our team loved staying here, the front desk was great and we got fresh hot breakfast everyday and the teddy bear waffle was great for the kids. They had brochures for us and restaurant maps with choices where our whole team could go.
Almost the entire staff is next to none. Extremely accommodating and friendly. The beds were very comfortable and the rooms spotless. The breakfast bar items were plentiful and delicious. We appreciated having a nice area outside to walk our pooch. They have thought io everything!
We had a lovely experience at this motel. close to everything; and yet very quiet atmosphere. Close to a park and right across the street from Cracker Barrel. We had good value for our stay and easy to access stores and restaurants. We will love to stay there again.
After reading different reviews, I made a reservation here, as I needed a quick place to rest for the night. Room was clean, bed was comfortable - I would say the rooms are somewhat updated. The hotel itself though is definitely an older building, that could use more upgrades than just fresh paint. Elevator is rough. Counter staff was nice and helpful when checking it. Overall I would stay here again, good value for the price paid.
I had business near Port Huron and spent the night at the Best Western. The room was very clean and comfortable. This location has a beautiful view of the Lake and Canada. And apparently really good walleye fishing judging by the number of people fishing in the park. The offerings at the restaurant were well prepared and very tasty. I highly recommend visiting here if you are in the area.
Looking for a great place to stay just over the Canadian Border just off the Freeway after a long drive, this is the Place. There are a couple of eateries near by. Very clean hotel great service free breakfast in the morning.
My Husband and I were on a road trip and on our way back from Canada and had made a reservation at this hotel in Port Huron for one night. It wasn't the easiest to find, but my husband went to check in around 4:45 pm and he was told that we were too early and to return in an hour. This was a little bazaar to say the least. We wanted to get into our room and unwind. We found a bar to wait it out and returned at 6:00 pm to check in. On the wallin reception, it distinctly stated that the check in was from 3:00 pm on. We got in to the room and it was ok. I've stayed in worse. The bed appeared clean, and was quite comfortable. It was quiet so we were able to sleep. A buffet breakfast was complimentary and we ate there before we left. The food was alright, no yogurt offering, but scrambled eggs, ham, hash browns along with cereal and toast. They had one flavor of jam and some honey. We were looking for coffee but they had only brewed Decaffinated for some reason, so passed on that. The strange thing was that this was set up in the main entrance where people checked in, and the door opening and closing constantly letting in cold air. Fortunately, there weren't too many people there at that time. When all was said and done, it was a bed for the night that was cheap enough, but the interior of the building could use some modernizing and sprucing up. If I find myself in Port Huron again, I will choose a different hotel.
This hotel is clean and the staff are friendly. If you are looking for a decent moderately priced hotel this one is very good for the area. It's not a fancy place but for the price the service, cleanliness and amenities are great!
Love the hotel with a hot breakfast with sausage & ham and a renovated hotel lobby for the whole group to enjoy on breaks while we use the meeting room with beautiful lighting. This a great place to stay and wish we can be here more than once a month.
The hotel was nice and the room rates were reasonable. All staff were friendly. The room and bed were confortable. Towels small but adequete. It would have been nice to have hand lotion offered but shampoo and conditioner were provided. Breakfast consisted of scrambled eggs, (sausage patties, sausage links and ham were switched for variety during our stay), potatoes, waffles, fruit, yogart, donuts and pastries. The pool was pretty warm. There are electric car chargers on the property. Coffee offered all hours.
The Hotel has the Basic quality standard of the Best Western Hotels. The Lobby and the breakfast room is on the first floor. close to each other. The breakfast has a variaty of food. There is something for everyone. The buffet is simple and little bit more style would be nice. The dishes are plastic. That is not very eco friendly. That should be improved. to real mugs, plates and real silverware. The room has a good standard. It was clean. The meintenance in the hotel shoulod cover the elevator as well. It made some interesting noises and was realy slow. But there are stairways that could be used.
I guess the best thing I could say is that it has a nice location. We had booked a room at this hotel and when we arrived the lobby area was dingy and and looked like it needed a good cleaning. We decided to check out our room before checking in and the room smelled of smoke and the desk person said he could try and find us another one. He said if we left he would have to charge our card. I decided I would suffer the loss rather than stay in this hotel that looked like it needed a lot of TLC.
this is our go to house when we are at the end of our vacations. last minute shopping and gas fillup before crossing over into Canada. Not sure what else anyone wants to know so I will just load this will filler until I hit 200 characters.
I found the rooms small with a smell of mold from the air conditioner. The hotel as a whole needs upgrades and repairs. The carpets in the hall need of replacement. The elevator needs to be fixed as its movement is herky-jerky as well as a cosmetic overhaul.
The rooms have had a facelift but this place is old and tired. Hallways have a Erie feel and the lobby is ‘cheap' feeling. I suspect a lot of weekly clients and it looks like road construction crews. Avoid as there is better nearby for similar cost
Went with friends to celebrate our wedding anniversary. It was raining, so asked for one room to be a suite so we could hang out comfortably. Not a problem . Room was nice. Bed was comfortable. Usual breakfast including eggs potatoes and sausage. However when checking out, the young person behind the desk asked if my friend and I were mother and daughter. No tact. Do I really look that old?!
A perfect place to meet friends from Canada. Even though the weather wasn't the best we enjoyed a fun few days of friendship, golf, food, shopping. Beautiful views of the Black River and the Blue Water Bridge
nice updated hotel but on my check in I was told they didnt accept a TD visa credit card due to their new system. luckily we had cash other wise we would be looking for another place to stay. I travel a lot through canada and the u.s. and have never run in to this problem. so make sure you have cash because you never know if they will not except your credit card like they did mine. the front desk staff didn't seem to care either, just telling me that it was a new system.
The manager was very friendly and doing business with him was a pleasure. We needed a corkscrew which he was happy to provide for us and open the bottle for us too. We have stay at two other hotels in Port Huron but this one is our favorite and we will be staying at the Best Western on future visit to the city. We like the location and the staff are always friendly.
This is my go-to hotel in Port Huron. Friendly staff, clean and well cared for. Lots of options for hot or cold breakfast, including gluten-free items, if you ask. The toilet and shower are in a separate room, and the sink is off to the side in the bedroom area.
Stopped overnight from Niagara Falls on our way to Detroit. There is nothing outstanding about this hotel, everything was average what you would expect. Staff did their job & that's as far as it went really. We did have an excellent meal & service at the Cracjer Barrel just across the road. This hotel is ok for an overnight stop.
The place was fine but somewhat worn. The toilet paper holder was broken and sitting on the toilet. Place needs an update for sure. Not worth $160. I will look to stay somewhere else if I stay in the area again.
This was our second time here in 5 years as we celebrated another milestone anniversary. We love this place. Our King size bed ands suite with a jacuzzi tub was wonderful. Front desk people are great and the breakfast bar in the morning was good with a mix of hot foods (eggs, sausages and pancakes). Highly recommend coming here.
Always greeted and taken care of as soon as possible. Clean and the floor we stayed on was a pet free floor. Second floor is for guest with pets. We like that there was ice on our floor so we were not looking all over. It is behind the elevator which is nicely decorated. Parking lot was clean and we feel safe here.
From the time we started our trip, we stayed exclusively at your hotel. From Indiana to Canada and back. To wake up to the sound of the birds and see the pond, was just amazingly beautiful. The new meat options with bacon and ham are awesome. I am also happy that I am in your rewards program to get special discounts. I travel a lot and I want to think that I have special treatment from your hotel management from calling in the reservations to the email of my confirmation and all. Thanks.
We always stay here when we go to Port Huron. We have for years. We don't go often enough but we know our experience will be a carefree one when we are with your hotel. We love the pool and cracker barrel across the street is great as we go there for dinner after shopping and then enjoy the pool and relax for the evening. I tell everyone if they are going to Port Huron to stay at Best Western as they will be treated well and the breakfast is very good with lots of choices. We can't wait for our next trip.
Room smelled of cigarettes and housekeeping basically tried to force me out before checkout time. Checkout was at noon as a BW member, but housekeeping knocked on door several times before 11AM. After reporting to front desk, all I got was 'I am so sorry.'
First time stay at this property. Hotel was in good shape and pretty clean overall. The room was average. It was pretty clean and everything was in good repair. It lacked the fit and finish of other hotels, but it was ok for a budget room. The beds were clean and comfortable. I would avoid the room (219) that we were in as it is directly across from the elevator and above the front (main) entryway doors. The noise from the doors opening frequently and other travellers is very noticeable and did impact our sleep. The room could benefit from additional soundproofing. The breakfast was average. A decent variety of food options available that will do the job. This room was $25 bucks cheaper than the Hampton Inn which was our main reason to check out this property.
Wonderful stay at the Best Western Port Huron Blue Water Bridge. Ended a day of shopping here. Clean, great service and wonderful breakfast, will be back again next summer. Wish I could remember the name of the gentleman who checked us in as he did an amazing job in making us feel welcome.
My wife and I stay here every few weeks and are always happy with Best Western Blue Water Bridge. Conveniently located near the border and lots of local shopping. Got another visit planned in the next week.
This hotel is so nice, comfortable, clean and quiet. Never have any problems when staying here and we always come back. The staff is very competent and always so helpful. They also have a good breakfast.
Have stayed at this hotel at least once a year for the past 6+ years. I go there to visit family. The management continues to make upgrades. Beds are very comfortable. Staff is friendly and very accommodating.
Staff is amazing. We have stayed here for many years. Upgrades to the lobby are awesome with more seating for breakfast. Only complaint is too few luggage carts and price has gone up considerably from a year ago. Still my first choice when I stay in Port Huron.
This hotel surprised me. The outside could use some landscaping ad repaving, but they have spent money and care where it matters most, inside. The rooms was clean, efficient, and comfortable. The beds were very comfortable and the room was quiet. The coffee in the morning was excellent. The location was just right for us as we went out to dinner, and it was easy the next day to drive to the border crossing.
Reservations were easy enough and upon arrival late Thursday evening the front desk clerk, Ron, took very good care of us. My wife and I were quite surprised to learn that this was a pet friendly hotel which explained why there were so many dogs. Ron explained that dogs are kept on the 1st and 2nd floor and since we were on the 3rd floor we shouldn't have any problems. We don't begrudge anyone having pets and think it's good that some hotels choose to be pet friendly. However, no where on this hotels web site did we see any mention of it being pet friendly. Maybe we missed it. Since we didn't have time to make other arrangements we went ahead and checked in. When we entered our room the smell of stale cigarette smoke was almost over powering. Both my wife and I are ex-smokers so we recognize the smell. Obviously in this hotels past they allowed smoking but when they decided to go smokeless they forgot to detail clean the room. My professional work experience could tell them how to get rid of this odor but it'll cost 'em. When we mentioned the smoke odor to the front desk the next day they gave us a can of smoke eliminator spray. It helped a bit. Water Conservation - There was a placard hanging on the towel rack explaining the need to conserve water and help protect the environment. Towels on the floor meant "replace me". Towels hanging on the rack meant "I'm still ok". This seems like a reasonable policy. After all, we don't replace our bath towels every day at home. Why then did the housekeeper replace all the towels every day regardless of where they were? So much for following their own water conservation policies. Otherwise the housekeeper did a really nice job and we left her a good tip. Carpet - The carpet in our room hadn't been cleaned in Lord knows how long. Don't wear white socks when walking around the room; they won't be white for long. There was also a large red stain in the middle of the carpet; looked like cool-aide. Bathroom exhaust - This was a noise maker only and didn't evacuate any bathroom odors or shower humidity. I confirmed this by hanging a single piece of toilet tissue along the bottom edge of the door. Normally the inflow of air would move something as light as this but in this case the tissue didn't move at all. A/C - The dehumidification properties of our room AC was, let's just say, pretty poor. Here again, I can show the hotel how to fix this but not for free. Do some maintenance Mr. General Manager. You're equipment will last longer and perform better. Maintenance - Why is it so many hotels/motels, including this one, forget about maintenance. The elevator was so slow it was faster to walk the stairs. The floor in the elevator was a sheet of linoleum from a hardware store and the edges were trimmed out in poorly applied black silicone sealant. Cleaning the elevator...it never happened in the 5 days we were there. As for the parking lot, the parking stripes were just about invisible. How about repainting the stripes once in a while. It might make your facility look a little more professional. Staff - For the most part everyone was very friendly and professional. We only saw one exception to this at breakfast on Tuesday when an employee helping out with breakfast. Her attitude and demeanor screamed that she simply didn't want to be there.
Our room was located at the back of the hotel with a wonderful view of the Black River. The hotel was full but we would have never had guessed that because our room was so peaceful and quiet. The hotel was easy to find, being located just off of the Highway 94 ramp, A Cracker Barrel is conveniently across the street. The hotel staff were all very friendly and helpful. Our room was very clean. If we are ever down that way again, we will definitely stay at the Best Western.
When I am traveling there are 5 things I look for in a motel room. And how this Best Western stacked up. 1, Location - On the way, not out of MY way (this worked for me, but who knows for you). 2, Friendly helpful staff - Have it in spades here. 3, Comfortable Bed - I slept like a baby. 4, Good shower - It is high enough to spray on my head, not just my tummy. I'm 6'3" 5, Breakfast with protein - Complimentary with good selection. I will suggest to friends and family.
We made reservations 2 months in advance for a family reunion. 5 days before our trip my husband's grandfather passed away, so the reunion turned into a funeral. Very, very sad time. So with knowing that you can imagine the grief we felt when checking in, only to find that the previous guest who had had our room smoked cigars or cigarettes and the staff decided to spray some awful cleaner to cover the odor. My son has seasonal asthma and strong smells can set him off as well. Not that the smell wasn't enough to gag anyone who entered. And since the elevator was broken we hand walked everything up 2 flights of stairs before discovering the odor. When we asked to switch rooms, we were asked to pay a $48 upgrade fee. We couldn't walk away without paying the balance for the booked nights. So we paid the fee, deciding to talk to management in the morning - did I mention this was at 2am after driving 13 hours??? The next day, the day of the wake, I spoke with a supervisor who waived the upgrade fee and said the suite was booked and we would need to switch back to a standard room later in the day. Ok, that seems reasonable. About 8pm---while with family at the funeral home---I get a phone call from the hotel, same guy that checked us in originally, asking where we were and when we would change rooms. I simply said we would be there when we got there. Finally about 11, we got back, wiped out, he had new room keys, so we moved from the suite to a standard room with a water view. Ok, seems fine. As we were walking out of the building the next morning---on our way to the funeral---the same guy told us the water view room was booked for that night and when we get back from the funeral we'd need to change rooms again. Being so upset, we said whatever and left. When we came back that night obviously distraught, the new night person moved us to a standard room. With all the room drama -That's 4 rooms for those keeping track- and emotional family time we really wanted to stay another night. So on the might we came home from the funeral I asked if we could add one night to the room we were moving into, sure no problem. The next morning my husband goes down for coffee and the supervisor gave him the bill for the additional night and the previous nights. While it shouldn't have been a surprise, the bill was wrong. When we added another night, the night clerk changed our room rate to $150 instead of the $98 we booked. SO MUCH DRAMA. I canceled the additional night told the supervisor it was the worst experience I have ever had and asked for the owners information. Thankfully she corrected the bill. NEVER, EVER AGAIN.
I recently planned a very last minute trip from Pennsylvania to Michigan and booked this hotel the morning of the day I arrived. I was not disappointed. I arrived and was greeted by a friendly and helpful front desk clerk who checked me in quickly and made sure to tell me about pool hours and breakfast hours. When I booked the hotel I joined the Best Western membership club so I was also given a priority parking spot and got to check out at 12. Great bonuses and reasons I'll look into staying at Best Westerns in the future. As for the hotel itself, my hallway had a slight smell that night, but it was gone the next day so I'm not sure what it was, but it didn't affect the room at all. The room was spacious and the bed comfortable. The shower was great as I usually don't like hotel showers because of lack of water pressure. No such problem here. The breakfast in the morning was usual hotel breakfast which was kept supplied despite the large number of people. I would stay here again.
Always a great stay at this Best Western. Comfortable beds and a great breakfast. The staff are always polite and accommodating. Highly recommended. Wifi works as expected and the rooms are quiet. Great value for the dollar as well.
Efficient check in, nice staff, clean property. The property appears to have been renovated within the past few years, so everything was new. The kids and I enjoyed a swim in the pool, all while getting clothes washed with the on site laundry. The business center has 2 computers and a printer available for guest use. The property was close to many dining options and they have information and maps at the front desk to ame it easy ti find places in town. The staff was great at stocking the breakfast bar in the morning and keeping things clean. Although we only stayed one noght while passing through, I definitely would stay at this property again if we are in the area.
After travelling across the border, we needed to stop for a rest and this place was our first choice. Although the room was updated, spacious, very clean, and comfortable, our AC unit did not work. It was so warm in our room that sleeping was tough. I let the staff know as we left in the morning.
Very easy to book room for 5 nights for recent trip to area-just called this hotel directly and on arrival we were given exactly what we asked for--river view and king size bed, no problem with late arrival, we loved it here! Clerk Ronald checked us in and directed us to local eatery which was right on waterfront and excellent. Also clerk Byran there in mornings working at desk, very friendly and helpful, breakfast very good and eggs/meat/potatoes cooked fresh. Also cleaning staff very good and personable. This hotel is quiet, clean, comfortable and felt very safe here, also easy to connect to WiFi. Close to downtown and beautiful waterfront, great location to see all the local attractions and right across the bridge is Canada. We didn't use swimming pool but others did and looked fun! We will be back to area and plan to stay here again, thank you!!
Stayed on a Saturday night, wedding party here, never heard a sound. Quiet night.good breakfast, good location.friendly helpful staff. Would stay again.close to border crossing. Only problem was someone can't tell lemonade from OJ at breakfast.oj was found later.
The hotel was very clean , located in a quite area , close to dinning and on the river , and it had excellent breakfast Management was very helpful and had good knowledge of the area, the attractions and the shopping
Great breakfast set up, confortable room. On this trip we came back in town for a second night and try another hotel. We like best western port Huron much better. I greatly appreciate they have a big water container to refill my water bottle.
Rooms are clean and Breakfast was very hot and fresh with lots of variety. Customer service was great. Very convenient near downtown and restaurants. Bed was comfortable and bathroom was clean. Towels were clean.
Second time that I have stayed there, not sure I will stay again. Had to wait to check-in as the desk person seemed to be the only employee in the motel. Same thing at check out. Elevator broke down and our room was on the third floor. even after it was running again it made enough noise to be concerned. Breakfast was ok, but you better like kids because the pool is right off the lobby and breakfast area
It is a comfortable place to stay clean warm inviting and good staff breakfast included a pool fitness area in room internet and tv with fridge and microwave so it is great. Actually affordable comfort which is great when travelling on a budget.
We have stayed at The Best Western Blue Water Bridge many times. We have used it for both business and an overnight getaway. Everything from the rooms to the breakfast is perfect each and every time. Quiet and relaxing .
This hotel is by far one of the best hotels I've stayed at. They go above and beyond I to make your stay the best experience ever. The hotel is in the perfect location and the hotel beds are so comfortable and the suites ate amazing. The staff is super friendly to
My family attended a conference over the week-end and this hotel was just about 10 mins away. It was rather clean, and the front desk was very pleasant. I was surprised that they placed my name on parking spot.. never had that done before. The king size bed was very comfortable and wi-fi worked perfectly. We had to use the stairs one evening as we were on the third floor, but that was a minor inconvenience. Overall, I would recommend this BW.
On a recent trip to Toronto via I-69/I94 to Sarnia for 402E to Toronto, being winter driving, we stopped by Port Huron for the evening. Best Western is not normally our first choice, but this one really caught our attention as we exited on Water Street en route to Hampton Inn or Doubletree. It's location is impeccable: Right on Water & I-69/I-94, across from Cracker Barrel, the All American breakfast Mecca of choice! Upon entry into this unassuming property, we were pleasantly surprised by its cleanliness and homely feel. Everything went well from thereon without a hitch. The owner apparently invested solidly on bringing the motel up to date. Service was prompt and friendly, bed was comfy, internet performance good, on site "offfice" in excellent working order, and breakfast was generous. We highly recommend it esp. to those who are avid road runners like us..
To start off...the elevator was not working, they gave us a room on the 3rd floor, had a senior citizen with medical issues, and had to carry things to the 3rd floor, management offered no help. A rollaway bed was supposed to be included, but couldn't unfold it in the room, and the next morning, a housekeeper came to the room asking for money for the rollaway! Management was very rude, and suggested that we find a different motel when a complaint was made. Oh...and the heated indoor pool.....was ice cold! Do not waste your money!
The stay at Best Western Port Huron is always delightful!!! From the time you walk into the newly renovated lobby to the time of check out you will be treated like royalty. The staff are very friendly and can not do enough for you. We have always found the rooms to be clean and the beds very comfortable!!!! The breakfast is always plentiful and well stocked!! We love that there is river running behind the hotel. Highly recommend this hotel.
Had a great time. Service and room was excellent. Breakfast was delicious. Pool was a little chilly though. We will definitely stay here again. Location is exceptional for all the city has to offer. Very pleased.
Friendly staff, clean room; elevators were out of service and it was nice of management to phone in advanced to let us know. Not bad taking the stairs. The young man at the Front Desk (sorry don't remember the name) was extremely helpful assisting us with directions. Will return next time in the area.
We are always satisfied with our experience at the Best Western in Port Huron. It's location is easily found, parking is good. Even have stations for electric cars, although we don't own one of these. Staff friendly and helpful. Breakfast is more than continental style. Internet worked
We stay in the Port Huron/Marysville often and this Best Western is our first choice. The price is reasonable, room is clean and comfortable, bed is comfortable, nice pool and good breakfast. It is also nice to have a fridge and microwave in the room. Staff is excellent! Everyone we had any contact with was friendly and helpful.
Our hockey team was in a tournament at Glacier Pointe Ice Arena, so we chose this location. It was about 8 minutes from the rink and about 5 from the downtown area. The lobby area was clean and newly renovated. The continental breakfast was nicely done - anything from cereal / oatmeal / pastries to hot items such as a waffle bar, sausage and eggs. We stayed on the second floor and our room was also clean and newly renovated. The hallways themselves looked like they could use an updated coat of paint. Pool area was adequate for our kids. We also brought our dog and there were no issues checking her in. Staff was reasonable and accommodating.
Elevator was not working. The final inspection was supposed to take place before our arrival date. If we new the elevator was not working we could have stayed somewhere else for our three night stay. One email or phone call would have been very helpful and no help with our luggage was offered during our stay.
Excellent beds and plenty of room if you require a walker or wheelchair. Bathroom door ways are wide. Fridge in the room. Breakfast was scrambled eggs, sausage, toast, yogurt, cereal. Room 107 was clean. There was water on the hallway floor in front of one of the water/pop dispensers. There was a caution cone placed to prevent slips. Room was quiet. Easy express check out. Convenient location on Water St to shopping, US/Canada border, Bob Evans and Cracker Barrel.

They truely understand the concept of "Making Customers For Life". Great staff, great location, clean. Lots of options at the fee breakfast buffet. Easy access to the U.S./Canada border. We have stayed at this Best Western many times. We recommend it to anyone visiting the Port Huron, Michigan area.
Recent stay week of January 20, 2018 for business. I am Diamond Select customer as well as many other frequent traveler programs. I travel weekly. This was an all around horrible weekly experience! I waited at the desk to check in while 2 clerks were discussing a computer issue-not related to checking in or hotel business. This took 12 minutes - there was no one else waiting, just me. I explained I needed to leave early for area hospitals & was offered Express check out. I am still waiting for my portfolio 7 days later! The room was dirty, dusty, stained carpet-despite the site saying renovated. (See the photos) Renovated in shabby garbage dump sheik!! There was a black powdery dust on the sheets. Just plain dirty! In the morning @ 3:00am, I pushed the elevator button to go from the 3rd floor to ground. It never arrived. I carried my bags down 3 flights to find the elevated locked open on the ground floor and a wet mess on the carpet and tile. No desk clerk anywhere to be found. This place is a dump. It is not renovated! BEWARE!
This hotel was clean and breakfast was good but the elevator is still out of service even though I called in early December to find out if the work would be complete by our stay on Jan 4th and was assured that it would be. Staying on the 3rd floor without an elevator and having my son's hockey gear to lug up and down stairs is a big inconvenience. There is also no working ice machine on the third floor. My advice is stay on the first or second floor of this hotel and only if you don't mind hotels with only basic amenities. I would not stay here again.
Had a very enjoyable stay here. Rooms and hotel staff were exceptional. The renovations were very nice. Breakfast was definitely exceptional. Lots to choose from. Front desk staff were very polite, informative and friendly. I definitely would stay at this hotel again.
This hotel has a Cracker Barrel across the street, (A plus). Elevator was being replaced, Im a contractor so I understand, and Ok with the inconvenience. 3 rd. floor was acceptable but they should of had a working ice machine (elevator) :( I would and will stay here again.
The staff was very nice ...The rooms are clean and the beds are so comfortable.. and it was every quite on news year eve.. I will tell all my family and friends to stay at the best western. Happy News Everybody!
Easy access to interstate and bridge to Canada. Clean comfortable rooms to sleep and a good breakfast. Breakfast was ready earlier than 6:00 so we could be on the road before 6:00. You have to drive to get to a restaurant, but there are several within a mile or two.
We came to Port Huron for a wedding and this was a really nice clean place to stay and it wasn't too expensive for us, especially since we are a young couple (20 & 22). Everyone was really friendly and hospitable, and it was right across the street from a Cracker Barrel.
The staff is always pleasant, informative and helpful. The breakfast is the best! Rooms are clean and comfortable. They have rooms for people who have pets. They also have a nice pool. We always stay here when in Port Huron. Our first choice! You won't be disappointed.
Our annual Christmas shopping weekend in Port Huron & we were very pleased once again with the level of service & value we received. Wonderful staff from check-in to departure! Great to see a familiar face, Ronald, at the front desk. Whirlpool room is a nice size, bed is comfortable (need new pillows), room is clean & equipped with the usual amenities. Breakfast is decent while the eating area is on the small side. For the price you pay you definitely get your moneys worth. We have stayed here many times & wouldn't hesitate to return! Right off the intersate with Cracker Barrel a walk away.
It was a very nice stay and the beds were very comfortable. The lady at the front desk was very nice and the breakfast buffet looked like it had a very wide variety although we did not have time to stay. I recommend this hotel to anyone who needs a place to stay around the Port Huron area. It is also very reasonable in price. Great Time Nicole
room was not clean, special the bathroom. The temperature in the room was over 80F all night. The elevator was broken and my room was the top floor. they did not offer me help with my luggage to go upstairs together with 2 young kids.
Comfortable rooms. Pick one facing the Black River with its beautiful marsh and seasonal boating. The Black River is dark from tannic acid from roots and is very clean. The motel has a breakfast that is good and exercise equipment and pool. Removed enough from expressway to be quiet. Cracker Barrel across the street and Bob Evans 1/4 mile away.
I believe this was the most comfortable bed in a hotel I have ever slept in. The rooms are very clean and inviting. Staff is very kind and friendly. Great location, close to everything. I will be returning.
competent, helpful and polite staff during our check-in and check-out. Great selection of breakfast items. Even though we were advised in advance of our arrival that the elevator is under renovations, this was still a great place to stay and we are pleased that we didn't change our reservation
Staff were very friendly and efficient. The inclusive breakfast was above the standard for quality and selection. The bed was very comfortable. Internet worked well. We would definiteloy come back. Elevator was out of service but that was a minor inconvenience for us, the stairs worked well.
Looking for a great place to stay just over the Canadian Border just off the Freeway after a long drive, this is the Place. There are a couple of eateries near by. Very clean hotel great service free breakfast in the morning.
When we arrived we were met with the same friendly employees as always. We noticed the renovation of the front desk, lobby and breakfast bar has been done and it looked good. The next morning at breakfast time the food was Great as well. Oh yes the rooms were also great. Have a good stay as we have always as we have been coming here many time over the past 3 years
took my two nieces for the weekend on a shopping trip - hotel was great close to shopping, staff friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good, area clean. Room was very nice, bed and pillows very comfortable.
This hotel is right over the border in the US and was very convenient to get to. It has been updated and everything looks and feels new and clean. The only thing I don't think that they updated was the elevator. It was terrifying. The free breakfast was great with a lot of options for a continental breakfast.
I am always skeptical of hotel stays but so I was nervous going out of town for my job. I was pleasantly surprised at the newly remodeled Best Western. The lobby and dining area are sleek and modern making it feel welcoming and comfy. The room was clean and beds are very comfortable. All the staff has been friendly and always greet me every time I walk through the lobby asking how my stay is and if I need anything.
We have stayed here last 2 trips for the night before heading across the border. The value is good fir the dollar. Close to interstate for easy access. The beds are comfortable . The pool is nice and has great hours. Breakfast was plentiful but the seating area is limited. If you are looking for something close to the border for a good price this is your place
Comfortable room, great breakfast and wonderful staff. It is in a nice location and reasonably priced. I will definitely stay there again. My room had coffee, a microwave and frig. Everything I needed for a comfortablestay.
Elevator not working properly which made it difficult for two retired husband & wife couple to navigate. Management made a $9.00 deduction to our bill after I complained. While I appreciated the effort I however found it woefully small!
Great place to stay passing through or just shopping. Elevator is damned scary but I'm sure it will be serviced soon. Lots of really good restaurants within a 15 minute drive. You will find every major retailer in Port Huron or just up the road in Fort Gratiot. Worth the stay.
We stayed one night at this hotel and it was fine! Staff was friendly, room comfortable...beds and pillows were great!! The continental breakfast was ok, toaster was not toasting very well and there could have been more healthy choices! Elevator was a bit shaky
great property that is located well.major roads are all easily accessible. hotel is newly refurbished and improves every time i visit.excellent staff all eager to help in any way possible. rooms are well furnished and very clean. there is a pool and a full breakfast is available in the mornings. i have visited many times and the hotel only impresses more.one of my favorites. reasonably priced also.
We had a wonderful overnight here. The breakfast was amazing. Little extras like salsa and cheese for eggs or on your potatoes. Also, the room has a recycle bin for bottles. Wonderful idea. Would recommend and definitely stay again.
After having stayed at other hotels in the area we ended up always staying here. The staff are great, the location is wonderfully quiet and the hotel and rooms are spotless. Love the solid wifi, the hearty breakfast, and the cozy lobby. We won't stay anywhere else.
This is one of my favorite hotels. Employees remember me from prior stays and are truly interested when I speak to them. They are extremely helpful and always kind. The Park next to the hotel is wonderful in the summer time to have a picnic or grill out. Walking by the waterside is also relaxing in the evenings. This hotel is out of the way from heavy traffic so it is really quiet at night. I LOVE this hotel
Service was very friendly and helpful. Continental breakfast good and had a good selection to pick from. Rooms (we had three) were all clear and nice, the bed was really comfortable. We have stay at this Best Western three times now and it has always met our needs. Great location easy access to I-94 and all the local roads and streets.
I like this best wester for the value and location. Its close to everything you need for criss border shopping. Close to the duty free and the bridge. The staff was good. The hotel was clean. The eleavators do need some work to make them look nice. The rooms were clean
Absolutely one of the most pleasant stays at hotel in a long time! The pool is perfect temperature. The room was clean and big and the breakfast amazing and fresh! We will definitely be back it was such a good sleep!
My husband and I checked into this facility on 9/8/17 and the treatment we have received from the staff and General Manger has been appalling to say the least. I have never been so disgusted with an experience from a business in my life. From false accusations, charging us additional fees without our knowledge, staff being unprofessional and lying, to the General Manager being the MOST unprofessional and not returning our calls. Potential guests BEWARE! Stay somewhere else!
The staff is always friendly and helpful. The rooms are clean and the beds are very comfortable. The entrance is inviting. The breakfast is the best! The pool is clean. The perks aren't shabby either!
Just don't stay there until it is updated. Elevator was horrible room were outdated. Needs a Manager/owner who cares and isn't interested in a quick buck at the expense of the Best Western image. Make sure the entire facility has been improved
This hotel in Port Huron, Michigan, has accomplished something that all hotels need to strive for. They have a highly trained staff, working in a newly renovated building and they have achieved a level of service and quality that is to be admired. We have stayed at this hotel regularly for more than 5 years and I can honestly say that their ability to please their patrons over and over again is astonishing. If anything has changed in that period, it's that they have improved their product and their ability to keep their customers very happy. Keep up the great work.
this hotel was one of the better hotels i have stayed at in a while. the staff was very helpful with every thing i needed. they even gave directions to some of the best food locations in the area. the young lady behind the desk was very helpful and went out her way to help me with any issue i had
We stayed for 6 days, 5 nights. Professional, friendly staff go out of their way to make your stay excellent! Nice pool, clean rooms and overall hotel. Close to park, convenient for kids and families with dogs. Wonderful complimentary breakfast. Veronica & Ashley were very helpful! Honestly, I loved their entire staff! Walked our dogs down to the river. The kids loved the park next door. We had a pet room it had a slight odor, but they offered to move us. The only thing I would change is the pool towels. Lol Kind of small for adults. I used their laundry room to wash some clothes. Great amentities. Thank you for the great stay! I would definitely return in the future!
Very relaxing, great friendly service. They go out of their way to make your stay a good one. Love the beds and bedding. Always sleep very well there. Very clean. All my favorite stores and restaurants are close and easy access to main highway.
The exterior looks fresh but the interior needs some work. Room was satisfactory. The elevator was particularly below standard. The floor of the elevator needed gluing (or something) as it looked very unfinished and old. Cracker Barrel Restaurant is nearby and the location is very close to Canada/US border.
Offered front parking. Great breakfast and a wonderful breakfast attendant. Hotel check in the man was nice even asked if we needed restaurant reservations. It was nice to be treated well and not as a inconvenience. Great job!
I've stayed here for years in overnight trips to Port Huron and each experience is enjoyable. Since the most recent renovations, I find the hotel even more pleasant to stay at. The staff are always friendly, the breakfast has a good variety, the beds are comfortable and the rooms are ALWAYS clean.
This was a first stop on our week vacation with the grandkids. Room was very nice and clean. Pool was fun for the grandkids. Very close to the Blue Water Bridge. It was nice that they offered breakfast so we did not have to find a restaurant before going to Canada.
I would highly recommend any Best Western hotel to anyone that would ask me. I use to swear by Hampton hotels but, every since I started to stay at Best Western I have never looked back at Hampton. the price I paid for my room was way less than what I would of paid at the Hampton. So all Best Westerns have my word on it that I will never stay anywhere else but at a BEST WESTERN.
This Best Western has excellent service, staff, rooms, food, 24 hr. coffee and go out of their way to make sure you are happy and have everything you need! They are in a great location, quiet at night from roadway traffic, and close to great restaurant's and shopping!
Elevator is a little scary sometimes. I have stayed at this hotel many, many times. I always pay more for a room at the back as flood lights can make sleeping difficult because the lights comes in around the black out curtains.
Would definitely come back. Which we actually did on the way back. Harsh was extremely friendly and helpful and the rest of the staff was very great. The room was really nice and the breakfast was delicious.
This motel has had many upgrades. As soon as I walked into the lobby I couldn't believe it was the same motel. Most of the rooms have had upgrades as well.Very friendly staff, clean rooms, and very comfortable beds. I always stay here when I need a room in Port Huron.
My husband and I stayed here for one night before taking the train to Chicago. Chose this based on location and price and both worked well for us. The front desk staff were very helpful. At check in the gentleman working let us know the Amtrak parking can be very full in the summer and suggested we leave our car in their lot (no extra charge) and take a taxi to the station. He also provided us with a phone number and gave advice about how early we should leave the next morning. Very helpful! When we checked out EARLY the next day, breakfast was already out and ready and the woman at the front desk provided us with a "to go pack" of granola bars and water. Also very helpful! BTW, the Amtrak lot WAS quite full so the taxi was a good idea. The fact that our driver was...not good at driving...sent me flying off the seat onto the floor of the van and our suitcase crashed through, from the open trunk, into the back seat (hitting my husband's arm) was less enjoyable but nothing to do with the hotel (other than they recommended the company). We were both fine...funny story now! And our car was safe at the hotel lot, waiting for us when we got back! The hotel itself was fine. Not fancy but did the job perfectly well for the amount of time we were there. Only complaints...like most hotels that once allowed smoking some rooms still have a very strong lingering smoke smell (ours did) and I always find Best Western pillows to be way too small (what's up with that?) If we are ever in Port Huron again...I would look at staying here again!
Nice rooms (they look newly renovated), full breakfast is included (eggs, sausage, potatoes, pastries, waffles, yogurt, cereal, coffee & juice) , nice pool, great rates, friendly staff. Would definitely recommend this hotel!
bottom sheet quite wrinkled and I thought that I was to get a larger discount for AAA members but in general the room was large and comfortable, and fit my overnight needs the hotel was located close to the highway and close to a variety of restaurants
Clean and nice rooms. Very good bed and pet friendly. Good staff and close to Canadian border and highway. All that need on a road trip. Could be better breakfast but that goes for all the buffets. Will stay again.
We booked an ADA room but they told us that there were no ADA rooms available that allowed pets. Our room was nice enough and the staff seemed friendly. There is a nice indoor pool and the free breakfast was very good. I'm not sure that I will return there with my bad experience with the ADA room mix up.
Port Huron. Best western is a great hotel. We stay there once a year for our visit with family and our road trips in Michigan. Staff are very friendly and hotel is clean. Right across the street there is a Cracker Barrel. Very conveniently located just across the border.
We just returned from a two night stay ath Best Western Port Huron. The hotel is conveniently located and has a great view of the river. The rooms are older but very clean. The breakfast was hot and enjoyable. We received great customer service from Ronald on the front desk. The first room we had smelled of cigar smoke immediatly upon entering the room. Ronald came up and agreed so moved us to room 310. It was much fresher and had a great view of the river. When we realized we had picked up some food to eat in the room but did not have any plates or napkins, Ronald was kind enough to supply them from the breakfast area. The only thing I would suggest is that the hotel set up some benches or chairs on the grass beside the building. We did go over to the park next door but would have been great to stay on hotel property.
The staff was helpful and friendly, and the hotel clerk automatically upgraded our room without a request. The hotel room and pool were clean, although the room had a different smell at first (cleaning product used or due to the hotel being a pet-friendly hotel, not sure), but after opening the window, it was fine. Our room looked out on the river and green space. It was lovely to hear the sounds of the motor boats and birds in the early evening, quite peaceful. The hotel décor in general needs updating. We chose the stairs for most of our stay as the elevator was older and made a strange noise. The breakfast options were of a lower quality, but the juice, yogurt, and fruit were fine.
Very nice, clean room, nice pool, wish they had a Hot Tub, would have been perfect. The location very easy to get to. They are sevral golf courses near by and lots of shopping. There is a transit that will pick you up and take you where you like to go, no need to drink and drive
This was a shopping trip last minuet , I called and reserved the room (very easy) Checkin was easy, checkout was easy, everyone was helpful and curtious, The room was clean and comfortable. Staff was helpful , hotel was clean quiet and breakfast was good. Everything we required Checkin was easy, checkout was easy, couldn't be any faster or easier
stayed here last weekend very nice and clean, quiet, great breakfast wonderful people working there checked in asked him were to eat and we went there and it was great he was very nice and helpful we will go back for sure
Best Western Import Huron is a nice hotel. The rooms are always clean. The staff are always friendly and they seem take Care of anything needed pretty fast. Laundry, pool, elevator and a pretty good continental breakfast are included.
We shop in Michigan once a month, first time we stayed at this Hotel. Manager & brother Harsh extremely nice & very helpful. Will stay next time for sure.My husband & I found the breakfast wonderful & staff all great.
My wife and I had a wonderful stay here. The room was very clean and the staff was very attentive. I would recommend this hotel to my friends and family. Truly enjoyed our stay. This place is awesome.
Visitation with my granddaughter each year for atleast ten days. We have a fun and comfortable time at the best western. It is clean and friendly. Iike the 24 hour service for any needs you need and the way the employees treat you like family instead of just a person passing through.
I really appreciated this stay. We had a great rate - exceptional for the area. We were helped and treated beyond expectations. If we are back in this area, we would definitely try to stay here again.
Best Western, Port Huron, Michigan has always proved to be an excellent place to stay. The staff are always friendly and the hotel has always been clean and comfortable. I highly recommend it to visitors and travelers.
I stayed here with a friend for a night during a quick getaway after a difficult week. I booked a river view room. The location is great, just off I94. The price was good compared to other places. River view room, 2 queen beds, during July for $125+ tax. The building is older. The river view was great, but the window was small. The decor especially in the halls is dated, but they are well lit. The room seemed to be more updated, it was clean & the bed was comfortable. The staff was helpful & knowledgeable of the area. They recommended a good & reasonably priced restraint with a river view for lunch. I would stay here again
The front desk staff was very friendly and helpful, the breakfast was much better than expected not just bagels and cereal, there was eggs, sausage, waffles, potatoes, fresh fruit, and plenty of juice and coffee.
overall this place is a good hotel. I found the rooms reasonably clean, grounds maintained, and a front desk staff that was knowledgeable about the local area. restaurants and other attractions are five minutes more or less from the hotel
Very well located near 2 freeways to access any part of Port Huron and the rest of Michigan. The staff are very friendly and try hard to make your stay perfect. Veronica at reception is a real asset. The pool is nice and the public areas are updated. The location is peaceful with a creek at the back. Breakfast was filling and well presented. It is great value for the reasonable price
Not wishing to spend too much for an overnight stay en route to Munising, MI from the Boston area, we reserved a room with a King-sized bed for $99 via the website. Our first impression was that the hotel itself was a little rough around the edges, with a noisy elevator and scratched hallway walls. By contrast, the staff was friendly, welcoming and informative. The room was adequate. There was nothing special about it, but our requirements were fairly modest. The closet door was a curtain, for example. We noticed right away that the toilet was running. While it was still functional, we informed the staff about it as we stepped out for dinner. Given the hour (after 7:00 PM on a Friday night), we were told only that maintenance would be informed, but were pleasantly surprised to return to our room to find the toilet fixed. The king-sized bed was extremely comfortable, providing us with a well-needed night of sleep. The complimentary breakfast, including fresh scrambled eggs, pastries and a variety of juices, gave us a good start to the rest of our day. All in all, the Best Western translates to the best value in in Port Huron.
We have stayed here numerous times for family gatherings. Always friendly, helpful staff. Clean facility. I am gluten intolerent so not many options for me for breakfast but they tried. My husband did ok with what was offered.
Pool was clean and warm. The breakfast was decent. Hotel is older but updated. Room was decent. Price was very good. Convenient to the roads we were traveling. Staff was very friendly. Had good coffee.
Terrible deal for Canadians. Crooked ! Booked on June 20,got 30 percent offer on June 22 and printed off, they would not honor because I booked too soon! They could have offered that after my booking so really crooked offer! Front desk man could have cared less, gold card member, what a joke!
I have stayed ay this hotel multiple times and the service and room quality has always been outstanding. I have stayed at other hotels in the area and this one by far is better than anything else in town.
This hotel is a little older, but they have done some lobby renovations which was nice. For the exceptional 'special price' we were offered, this was an excellent choice of hotel, yet again. We have stayed here a few times previously, and enjoyed it each time. This is our first choice of hotel, when we come to Port Huron. The staff are all so friendly. Our room was clean, the river view was peaceful (although it was more trees than river) the beds were comfy, the fridge was large and cold, and the microwave was new. The hot breakfast was exceptional, for a hotel - great job! The hotel is nicely away from the busy city center, but so easy and fast to get to restaurants, shopping, the Blue Water Bridge walkway, and the beaches! The only suggestion is to have their elevator serviced, and soon! Do not hesitate to stay at this hotel, you won't be disappointed. We will be back!
Very clean and all staff are super friendly! They went above and beyond for us. The beds are so comfy. Harsh from the front desk even checked us in early after our long 12 hour drive. It was nice to be able to get right in and shower. We wish the breakfast was offered a little later than 9 am so we can sleep in, but it's free :)
There are lots of places to stay in Port Huron MI but the staff at the Best Western of Port Huron are great to work with. Rooms were nice and clean, nice restrooms. The hotel has a nice pool but no hot tub. Internet is good and there is a view of the black river on rear facing rooms. The looby is nice and they have a great breakfast.
I stayed at the Best Western in Port Huron in March 2017 while in town visiting a friend. The hotel is clean, comfortable, and conveniently located. The hotel staff is friendly and helpful with information about Port Huron. I'll have no problem staying here again during my next visit.
The hotel was clean and the personnel were very courteous. The kids enjoyed the pool. Breakfast was simple but very good. The hotel was right off the highway and a good stopping point before the Canadian border.
I stayed overnight and the staff was great. The room was clean. The only complaint was the bed not being that comfortable, however, most hotel beds aren't. The staff is very friendly. They are also pet friendly, which is hard to find. I would stay here again for sure.
This place has wonderful staff, great rooms, breakfast included a pool and fitness area and the lobby has been renovated and looks very modern and inviting. I always enjoy my stay as they go out of their way to make sure that you are happy and comfortable and have a great stay. The front desk staff are terrific especially Ashley and they are friendly and welcoming. The breakfast has almost anything you could want from cereal, toast waffles eggs hash browns and sausage. The beds are always nice and clean and ooh so comfortable. We LOVE it here so come on and enjoy a relaxing stay!
What a nice calming room to look out at the river and watch all of the birds flying about. The Blue Water bridge is beautiful lit up at night. The area in back of the hotel is serene and calming. Eating breakfast and having your morning coffee with this view is worth it. Everything about this hotel is excellent.
Booked this hotel for a mini getaway for 35th anniversary. Wanted to enjoy a swim so booked this when read there was an indoor pool. Couldn't go in as it was too cold. Told them in the am pool was too cold n all we got was "sorry". Expected a discount off room. Won't book here again.
Our family stayed here for the weekend as we attended a family wedding. There were a lot of us staying here so we kind of took over the place. The staff was great when checking us in, helped answer questions when needed and allowed our family to take over the lobby in between the wedding and the reception. The rooms are pretty spacious. The beds were comfortable and the pillows fluffy. The breakfast in the morning was above average with a lot of options from cereals and pastries to eggs, potatoes and sausage as well as make your own waffles. It's easy access on and off the highway and about 10 miles from Downtown Port Huron and the water. I would recommend a short stay if you are traveling in this area.
staff were great and lovely room!! one thing I did not like was how remote it was from running out to get to something to eat. We mainly used this as a stopover on a road trip so the inconvenience was a bit of a let down. Comfy beds!!
Have stayed at this hotel for the last 4 years. Was pleasantly surprised by all the upgrades. Looked great. Room very comfortable, breakfast had good choices. The bed was amazing. Best nights sleep in a long time. Has nice indoor pool as well so it's something for everyone. Will be back.
We totally enjoyed our stay at this Inn. The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was clean and overlooked a beautiful waterway and wetland area. It was so nice to watch the wildlife in the morning. Breakfast was good ~ and the staff went out of their way to see that everyone had what they needed. Will definitely stay here again when visiting Michigan.
Certainly enjoyed a restful stay in a room overlooking a lovely waterway. Beds were comfy, staff were friendly, breakfast was as can be expected. No complaints! Will plan to stay here again when visiting Michigan.
Very noise. Complained about it and was told I should find the room and call the room and ask them to stop jumping on to the floor. Had to wait forever to checkout. Clerk was doing the breakfast. Should have been given speedy check out like other Best Western
Rooms are well equipped. Pillows should be replaced. Bed was comfortable. Breakfast area/lounge is very small. Height of bar stools are a mismatch for a table. The breakfast buffet offered a variety of items. Nice to have it included with your room.
When we come over here we stay at this hotel. We had a little problem the first time. We told them, they fixed it and after that we have had no more problems and it's been great. The people at the hotel are the best.
Impressive hotel in Port Huron. The front desk staff were so friendly and helpful, I knew I was in good hands as soon I checked-in! Beautiful new lobby, clean and quiet rooms plus Breakfast was so fresh coming directly from the kitchen. Free upgrades just for being a member! Overall 10/10, I will be back!
We just checked in yesterday & we'll be here for the next 4 days. But so far everything is true about the courteous staff, the clean rooms, and the safe location. This place is one hop away from the 94 freeway after you enter the US from Canada. Breakfast selection ain't bad either. Great service from Cheryl. Indoor pool is conveniently located and open from 7 am to 11 pm. I think it's a very good value for your money.
It is always a very enjoyable hotel. Very friendly staff, comfortable beds. Breakfast is quite good with a few added bonus's. It is nice that when they are not busy that they offer rooms at a slight discount.
Friendly service, more then willing to help you out in any way. the breakfast the next morning was very nice, great selection of food, hot or cold, and the lady was always making sure everything was in good supply.
We were travelling with our dogs and spent a night at the Best Western/Hospitality Inn. The elevator had seen better days, and the hallway leading to the room smelled of moth balls but the room itself was fine. We had a king sized bed which was comfortable. The continental breakfast was a hot and fresh with lots of variety. They charged $20.00 for our dogs to stay which was reasonable.
I travel frequently for business and pleasure to the area. I've stayed at nearly every property in the area and the other hotels simply do not compare. They have renovated their lobby and have updated their breakfast bar to get your day off to a great start. The staff offers outstanding customer service -to the likes of any 5 star hotel. Ron and Veronika are simply the best! RECOMMENDED HIGHLY!!
A great experience. Great value for money. Recently updated throughout. Decor of hotel and rooms is very nice. Comfortable. Great hot breakfast in the morning. Very very clean. Great staff. Can't ask for more.
Great place to stay, the front desk staff was very friendly and helpful. One thing that I liked was the printed local maps for restaurants, downtown and Points of interest. My room was clean and the bed was fine
Stay was very good, courteous staff clean rooms good prices and the breakfast was outstanding, internet was fast lobby clean pool area very clean overall appearance was excellent located by good restaurants to eat at
Rooms are nice and clean. Beds are comfortable. Staff was always nice. I would give it a 5 rating if the wifi was actually free like advertised but there is a $10 price increase for a room with wifi included.
Great location, just off the highway. Lots of parking. The staff were very friendly and helpful, especially Ron at the front desk. Sumptuous free breakfast. Nice big clean room, comfortable beds. Indoor pool.
very helpful staff - went out of their way with assistance when I was having trouble connecting to the hotel wifi very clean, comfortable room, restaurants close by after a long day's drive it was nice just to relax
Nice Room with a hot tub that really worked staf was real kind and helped in any way they could. the location was just right out of the main city area and close to the freeway for easy access to local events.
The room was clean and comfortable. And the bed was really comfortable. They had a good breakfast with plenty of choices. I didn't try the pool but it looked nice. I wish they would have had a hot tub.
A very comfortable place to stay, fantastic breakfast, nice pool, good exercise room, very clean rooms. Have been staying there for years, will continue to use this as the Port Huron shopping hotel of the family. and they keep upgrading the hotel, no complaints.
This hotel is a great place to stay after a 4 hour road trip for us after Leaving Barrie Ontario and heading to US for the American Thanksgiving just across the Bridge at Port Huron. Great service and very friendly staff with nice breakfast in The morning before you hit the road.
This is a very clean hotel. The staff very personable and very accommodating. The pool area is very clean also. The beds are very comfortable and rooms have refrigerator, microwaves, and hair dryers. They also serve a full breakfast. All parking is close to the building. There are several restaurant within blocks of the hotel. Hope you will visit this hotel. We always enjoy our stay there.
Clean and comfy rooms! The hotel looks brand new from inside! The breakfast was amazing from the waffles to the pastries! The staff was so nice to everyone, they treated me as if I was one of their family members! Best and only place to stay in Port Huron
The staff was very professional with excellent costumer service. The location was very nice and close to expressway, the beds were very comfortable. rooms are nice and clean Also enjoy the peppermint pattie that are on the night stands next to are bed. Are breakfast was nice and hot and I loved the potatoes... I saved money when i book direct from the hotel rather than expedia
The hotel environment is very good, in the vicinity of the border port. Breakfast is also very rich, indoor swimming pool and other sports year-round open, comfortable bed, the staff is very friendly and warm. I believe the next time in the local stop, I will choose it.
We were in town for a family funeral. We have stayed at this hotel before and would definitely stay again. The staff at the hotel were excellent and extremely courteous and professional. Plus, Patty, the housekeeping person that inspects the rooms helped expedite the process to allow us to move into the upgrade room (324) . All of these people went above and beyond for us. Thank You very much.
We cross the border at least 2-3 times per year just to get away and do a bit of shopping. We have never had a bad experience at the Best Western Hospitality Inn in Port Huron. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The rooms have been remodelled and are beautiful. We would not stay at any other hotel
This hotel is conveniently located near the border (approximately a 10 minute drive). It has a fabulous breakfast buffet and the staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. The pool is very nice and the hotel is also very close to many popular restaurants as well as the mall which has most of the popular name brand stores.
Convenient as it is located right off the highway. It is a decent Best Western with an edible breakfast. Didn't get to try the pool though as we checked in late and left early in the morning. I would stay here again.
Always a pleasure to stay at this motel , always very clean and rates are fantastic , it's quiet and all the amenities , the Staff has always been very pleasant , Ronald especially remembered us from last time we stayed !!! The breakfast has alway been very good , keep up the good work!
This hotel has the best breakfast, I have came across when traveling, Also, has the most friendly and most efficient staff. I will definitely recommend this hotel to other when choosing a hotel in Port Huron Area to stay in.
Absolutely fantastic. Staff went out of their way to accommodate us and make us feel welcome. The room was spotless! The view was perfect, everything was close by and the breakfast better than most restaurants
Do not hesitate at all to stay @ the Port Huron Best Western. Very clean & quiet w/ amenities very close by. Especially wonderful was location of Cracker Barrel just across the street. & expressway a few yards from that. Perfect !!
The hotel is old but there has been good effort to keep clean and fresh. There was low vacancy the night we stayed but we were put in a room where you could not bath as the drain plug did not work. THE BIG ISSUE GOR ME WAS THAT THE COFFEE MAKER WAS SITTING IN THE BATHROOM AREA BESIDE THE TOILET. When I talked to the manager about it he argued that all hotels put them there. I begged to differ and said they might be beside the sink if it was outside of toilet room BUT-- every time you flush the bacteria are floating around in air to coffee maker-- GROSS! He then conceded that there were only 2 rooms in the hotel with that set up--- and in a low vacancy that is where they put us!! Front desk staff were very nice. Great location-- just need to look at details --
Excellent hotel near the Bluewater Bridge. Staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast included although the breakfast area is small. Conveniently located near restaurants like Cracker Barrel and Bob Evans.
We booked this hotel because it has a Tesla charger. It was not essential for us because there were plenty of Tesla superchargewrs on our trip from Chicago to Toronto (including one in Port Huron), but it was convenient to wake up in the morning with a fully charged car (free for patrons). The hotel is just OK and not expensive, but it needs serious update and upgrade. The public places, esp. the elevator, need better scrubbing and cleaning. The included breakfast was OK, but the swimming pool is practically adjacent to the breakfast room and it was full of screaming kids. We paid extra for a room facing the river and the view was indeed exceptional, but the window is too small to fully enjoy it
The staff is always friendly and the stay is consistent. There was a soccer team in the pool when we arrived, making a lot of noise like kids do...so we were afraid the noise would continue in their rooms. But at 10PM all was silent. We were grateful and content.
Mattress was not comfortable, woke up with back and side pains both mornings. room was clean and made up nice the next am. Heater / air conditioner fan settings where confusing ran all night the first night and finally was able to turn it to different setting the second night. Friendly cleaning staff and breakfast service left food out later as we did not know breakfast was over at 0900 am.
This hotel has seen better days and needs a major facelift. I imagine it is underway since the exterior is modern and the rooms have all the expected features and comfort. But I was shocked when I got there and saw how much was outdated. The interior decoration is so out of date. The lighting sucked, the elevator door was badly worn and the elevator the slowest thing on earth. The carpets had seen better days. Breakfast was what I expected. The wireless had its moments. I switched over to my hotspot when it was too slow that evening. The man on duty that evening was very friendly and helpful for the computer and my membership. So the staff and room furnishings made up for it some, but the jarring differences between our room and the public spaces (hallways, elevators) mean this hotel is something I would avoid if I come this way again.
What a great hotel, we arrived late and we were upgraded to a suite, the clerk was very efficient and friendly. The room was beautiful. The breakfast area is large and clean and the food selection plentiful and hot. We have stayed in this hotel on previous trips to Michigan.
Very clean, nice size rooms with comfortable beds! Had to go to Northern MI for a wedding so booked this motel for the trip out. Was very pleasantly suprised at the nice conditions, comfortable beds and the nice breakfast. After the wedding we decided to book it again for the return trip and was just as pleased with the second stay. Bring a swimsuit, they have a nice pool.
When we first walked in here I was disappointed. Older place. Rooms were newly done though with our overlooking the river. Breakfast had a nice variety. Service was super slow and area so so. I would of given it a one star but overall room was nice with refrigerator and microwave. Also a dog friendly place with many of them.
We gave stayed at this hotel several times. It is like home away from home to us. We have always received great service and accomodations. Staff couldn't be better and room is always immaculate. would highly recommend.
Great HOtel just seconds from the Blue Water Bridge in Port Huron and close to all major accesses. Offers on- line deals for even better discounts on their already great prices. Nice Breakfast included and comfortable rooms
The staff was outstanding and extremely helpful. The room was quiet and pleasant to be in. The Internet worked very well. The hotel is easy to get to. I found it interesting that it has hook-ups to recharge electric cars.
We stopped overnight here in August 2016 en route from Chicago to Niagara. The girl on reception was pleasant and helpful and the room was a reasonable size, comfortable and clean. There is no restaurant for an evening meal, which would have meant going out for food, which we didn't really want to do after a long drive. We managed on snacks and had a good breakfast instead, although the breakfast area is small and people spilled over into an adjacent conference room, opened for this purpose. Overall the hotel satisfied our needs and we had no complaints.
Room very clean and well kept. Very good work by cleaning staff. Front desk crew friendly and helpful. Overnight front desk manager Cheryl stood out among staff. Great job making sure continental breakfast area very clean and well supplied. Would recommend to other travelers. Easy access to I-69/94 to Canada, Detroit or western Michigan.
The hotel was great, they are pet friendly and that is hard to come by. The room I stayed in was a generous size, everything worked fantastic and everything that I was told was included actually was there. You weren't disrupted by other guests noise, there wasn't a lot of chaos in the hotel like you sometimes get over weekends in the summer. There was easy access to let the dogs outside regularly and it was right up next to a wooded area, a walking path and a park. The veiw from the second floor was lovely, the breakfast was of great variety and amounts and the hotel is not far from the hightway, the beach or convenience stores. It was a great little get away from daily life. The staff was excellent in anything that was asked/requested for the room and checking in/out was a breeze. Highly recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to or through Port Huron.
We arrived very late after a 6 hour drive from Chicago and needed to sleep in. When I awoke at 9am I was sure it was still late night because the room was in complete darkness. Best curtains I have ever seen in a hotel if you want to get a good night sleep and/or sleep later in the day. We had a room on the 1st floor and were given a handicapped accessible room which was very spacious and a lovely updated room. Service was great, water pressure was amazing. Great experience overall. Close to the border, easy to cross back to Canada when we were ready to leave. Unfortunately we didn't get to try the breakfast as we slept through it.
Very, very good!!! Rooms are very clean! It is quiet there, and the breakfast is good, lots of choices. I would highly recommend, this hotel, if staying in Port Huron! The staff are very helpful, and their knowledge of the area is good. The beds are comfortable, and the rooms are very, very clean. Its a 10 in my book!
very clean hotel good spot and service great nice people and the food was good just didn't have any micro wave popcorn on site would like to have some and it was easy to find things as needed Thanks Richard
The Twins are wonderful and very Friendly. Hotel breakfast was plentiful and loved the assigned parking for best western reward members. The location is great for cross border shopping and the fridge & microwave are very helpful as well after a long day of shopping.
We always stay at the Best Western in Port Huron and always enjoy our stay there. It has been updated and has a nice, clean, pool and a fridge and microwave in the room. The beds are very comfortable. Breakfast has a nice variety of items, and I am Celiac (gluten free) and they have muffins and cereal to accommodate my intolerance to gluten. Would recommend this Hotel to anyone travelling to the area. Service is always good....
I took my son to Port Huron to visit some maritime sites and stayed at the Best Western. The room was deluxe, especially for the rate and we were very happy. I did not get the name of the gentleman who checked us in but he was extremely polite and happy to help us. The buffet breakfast was simple but also complete with hot food items plus toaster bakery items, muffins and cold fruit, cereal, milk plus REAL orange juice. I will definitely stay here if we visit Port Huron again.
Wonderful hotel! Friendly efficient staff, delicious breakfast, comfortable bed, clean room. Well worth it, great night's sleep after a long day of traveling. All three of us (me, boyfriend and dog) slept deeply and awoke refreshed. It was great to be able to walk the dog through the adjoining park in the morning. The area is safe and close to the Canadian crossing. We will definitely stay here the next time we visit Michigan.
I don't know why motels in Port Huron are so expensive. Sarnia Ontario lodging is considerably less. This hotel is very dated and looks like they are doing everything they can to keep it going without spending much money. But the employees are polite and helpful. The room was clean. They bed was comfortable. The AC worked. The entire motel smells like deodorizer and every bit of flooring looks worn and tired. So, by Port Huron standards it wasn't too bad. By Best Western standards, it should be downgraded to a Quality Inn or Super 8.
It was a little dark when we got there and no road sign lit up however, we did go to the hotel and were very pleased with the service and the room. Slept very well, very comfortable beds. Also the staff was very pleasant.
We stayed here twice this month. Once when leaving the US to go to Canada and once returning to the US. We got in late at the hotel 12am, but the front desk was pleasant and welcoming. Our room was ready and they were aware we had our puppy with us. The room was clean and recently remodeled. The bed was comfortable and the hotel was quiet. They had an area to walk dogs and they supplied poop bags for guests that did not have any for their pets. The hotel location made it easy to get to the bridge to cross into Canada. It was much easier than trying to cross in Detroit. The hotel served a continental breakfast which was perfect for travelers on the go. On our visit on the way back from Canada, they made us preferred guests and gave us a preferred parking spot in front of the hotel. That was perfect, espicially at midnight. That was Very Nice of them! We will return to the Best Western Port Huron on our next trip to Canada..
We have stayed at port Huron's Best Western a couple of times and have found the hotel to be excellent. Price is reasonable and the customer service was tops! Our room was clean and the bed very comfortable. Breakfast was good with excellent selections. Very impressed with all of it. We even had to ask for a forgotten necessity at the front desk and they cheerfully provided it. Clean, affordable and customer service that made me feel that they really deserved / wanted my business. We will certainly go back the next time we stay in Port Huron.
This hotel looked pretty posh in the pictures, The hotel is listed as a 3 star hotel and was excited for my visit. I stay in hotels a great deal and I'm generally very pleased with the experience but even when there is a problem I give the hotel a chance to correct it and have rarely had reason to complain. I have reason to complain. The view is of the parking lot. The room is tiny, its not anything like the pictures, it's dated, sterile,, the sink is in the bedroom, and the bathroom I mistook for a closet until I looked more closely, the TV is an old low resolution panel TV and the air-conditioner is loud and rattles. When I asked the hotel staff (very pleasantly I might add) to move me, I was told (with some distain) that if you book thru "them", then you get the very cheapest room we offer. When I asked about upgrading they told me that I would have to pay the entire price of the new room at full price, I could not pay for an upgrade but only the full price of a separate room reservation. They were curt and impolite and I felt like I was a second class guest because I didn't book directly thru them. When I called Travelocity they told me that when you book an unpublished room you take your chances and you get what you get. I booked a room at a 3 star hotel and I got a 1.5 star experience. I feel ripped off by both. This room isn't worth nearly what I paid for it Travelocity and by the Best Western Port Huron/Hospitality Inn I feel angry and ripped off especially after spending a full 1.5 hours on the phone and 20 minutes waiting for hotel staff to tell me I was out of luck. BAD EXPERIENCE!
Very good stay, nice breakfast served, price was very good, below 100.00 a night, that was with being a Rewards customer and also being a veteran. you get a discount for both on price. nice incentive. Room was clean and very livable.
We will never stay here again! The breakfast was awful and cold. The manager was not willing to help us with our dilemma it took calling the corporate office to get anything done. After we got our situation handled we didn't even get a good room with the view we wanted.
was good but made us feel bad when we received letter that we paid full rack price since we book through website (Expedia) versus booking with the hotel directly. Why advertise through the website then?
The staff is very friendly, rooms are clean and you can ask for anything you forget. Breakfast is always ready and full when you get there. It is in the perfect area for walking to some restaurants and only a 15 minute drive to the main strip with the mall and lots of stores to shop in. There is a great pool which is always clean and an area outside with play swings etc for children. Always a great experience for us.
We were greeted by the staff and they accommodated all my requests with pleasure. awarded me with extra points for getting registered with the rewards club. Quite secluded location. Easy access from interstate. Good Hot breakfast. I did not get my favorite fruit bananas(just a suggestion). Beds were comfortable, All other amenities were satisfactory.
This place and it's management are the worst. Housekeeping helped themselves to money left in the room then had the audacity to make the bed leaving bloody sheets on it, from where my husband re-injured a cut on his arm. We complained to the front staff and here told "the couple that cleans are from India". Really? What does that have to do with anything? They are your employees and you are responsible for them!!! This place is not worth 155.00 a night. Please don't waste your money here!
My wife and I have stayed several times at the Best Western in Port Huron. We are Canadians, so it is a nice place to stay overnight and gives us a chance to shop in Port Huron. This hotel is a reasonable price and provides a good breakfast.
We pulled into the lot after driving for several hours and arrived around midnight. My husband and I were exhausted and the kids were grumpy. The very nice gal at the desk gave us a little discount, which improved my mood immensely! Our room was very nice. When we woke up in the morning, we discovered our room had a river view and you could even see the bridge that goes into Canada. The breakfast was good. We didn't stay long as we had to get back on the road. We would definitely stay at this hotel again.
Great stop for small kids (park next door) and dog (dog play area). This stop is very easy as it is just off the highway. You need to drive for food or there are several delivery options but otherwise a convenient place.
I was walked in on twice by hotel staff that did not knock. The smoking section is in the front of hotel, everytime I walked in or out, I had to walk thru the smoke. The only reason I stayed there was because the allowed pets. As I fed my dog, he made a small mess, when I wiped it up, I was amazed how much dirt came up on the wet wash cloth.
Very affordable and high quality for its rating. Nice room amenities and comfortable bed. Nice TV. Best value found in Port Huron for a 3 star rated hotel. Right off Interstate with a few agreeable restaurants. Not far from any business, downtown, mall or restaurants. Very clean room.
We've been traveling for 8 days, and these are the best beds ever...comfortable mattress, pillows and linens. Nice linen and room decor. We found the staff to be professional and attentive. The elevator was out of service, and they offered to help with baggage. A good breakfast, hot, and all items kept fully stocked.
We rented two rooms for 4 senior ladies. Had a great time, the rooms were very clean and up dated so nice. Also there had been a hand bar installed for the bath tub, great help for us seniors or anyone else. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast bar had everything one could image for a great breakfast.
We stayed here a few nights ago and were pleasantly surprised. We had stayed here a few years ago, and since that time the hotel has seen a lot of improvements. The rooms were very clean and in good condition. The beds were very comfy. The location is great, it's in a quiet area and has restaurants (Cracker Barrel & Bob Evans) only seconds away. We used the pool, but only stayed in it for about 10 minutes, it was too cold, even on an extremely hot day. I would stay here when in Port Huron again, it's a much cheaper option than other hotels in the area. They left me a note in the morning to book directly through them because they say it's cheaper than booking through a 3rd party, but unfortunately that's not true for Canadians with the current exchange rates!
I would recommend this hotel. Our visit was fantastic. The front desk was very pleasant, helpful in any questions that we ask. Our room was outstanding, bed very comfortable and we enjoyed our stay. We will stay here again next year when we come back the 4th of July. Riverdale, CA
We choose this hotel for being dog friendly but were very disappointed that we couldn't leave our dog in our room while we went for dinner. Even leaving a cell number was not allowed. We would not have chosen this place if we had known. I realize some dogowners have spoiled it for others. The policy should be posted clearly on the hotel website. But room was clean enough and beds were comfortable with soft bedding. I don't care for split washrooms, the sink in the main room. Wish it had said that on the website. Internet was fast and the breakfast was good. It was fine for one night. But it was quite overpriced for what we got.
This is a really good basic hotel. It is clean, it is quiet, the breakfast is good and the linens/towels are scent free (for those with contact allergies or sensitivities). The air conditioner unit does not smell funny either (as they do in a lot of hotels). It is also easy to find and as a bonus is directly across the street from a Cracker Barrel. This is the only hotel I'll stay in in Port Huron when cross-border shopping. They even let you pay cash if you secure with a credit card so you can avoid credit card exchange fees which I thought was awesome. I'd recommend this hotel to anyone.
We were fortunate to find this hotel traveling late afternoon and no reservations. Place was very nice and clean. The breakfast was better that most hotels and we really enjoyed our night there. Parking was adequate as well.
This was not our first visit to the hotel and we were delighted upon our return to see Veronica there to greet us! This young lady is the first contact with the hotel and its biggest asset! She and her twin sister Ashley run a smooth, efficient concierge desk and are not averse to jumping in to assist where help is needed. The staff are friendly and professional and the hotel reflects that. Our room overlooked the river and was a peaceful refuge after a long drive from the Toronto area. The room was spotlessly clean and smelled fresh and airy. Breakfast was hot, tasty and there was something for everyone...oh and the coffee could give any coffee shop a run for its money! Wifi connection was strong and consistent which, as a realtor, is important to me as I need to stay connected with my clients. TV was perfect for my retired hubby who likes to stay abreast of world events and happening sports! The pool is a big bonus! Stay there on your next visit - you won't be disappointed!
I stay here frequently and the service is always excellent. The staff are very friendly and the rooms are always clean and the bed comfortable. For me the location is good as it's just after the border crossing and so it's a great place to stay the night before going on.
I've never stayed at a hotel where the staff were as friendly, willing to help and readily available to answer your questions. Room was clean and comfortable and housekeeping was on top of every request. The front desk clerks were amazing! The lady helping with breakfast was amazingly efficient and friendly. I will definitely be staying again!
Always enjoy our stay. Beds are comfortable. Nice view from 3rd floor over he canal. Desk and breakfast buffet staff very friendly and helpful. Changed up their continental breakfast. Good central location. Restaurant across road- unlicenced, but can also walk to a pub down the road which serves great fish and chips on Friday nights.
We have stayed here more than once and the service has always been excellent. Our request for specific ground floor and facing the parking lot was met. The staff all seem to work very well together and are very helpful.
We were in Port Huron 2 years ago and decided to go again. We never even looked at another place to stay as our first visit was great. There has been some remodelling done to the rooms and they looked really nice. The bed was very comfortable. A quiet room. The staff was nice. The breakfast was good and plentiful. Close to all we wanted to do. We will return!
Great location and quality. Staff was especially helpful and proud of city. Had a fun time touring the city and became aware of special events coming up and wish we had time to take it all in. This was a mere stop over enroute to NH and using Port Huron for entry into Canada was easy from the hotel as it sits along the highway to the bridge to Canada. Double bonus !!
Very clean rooms. Great location to everything in town. Especially for all of the activities during the summer months. Very friendly staff. Easy and quick check in. Close the the expressway for easy access. And also right on the river and close to boat launches for boaters.
Located just of I-94, close to restaurants (and not really far from shopping). Nice, clean, smaller facility with a friendly staff. Very comfortable & quiet (not that close to the Interstate to be bothersome). We've stayed here several times now and have never been disappointed.
Recently stayed at this hotel, front entrance, breakfast not great, requires more fruit and some healthy choices. rooms are all updated and clean. Staff excellent, friendly, helpful, especially Michelle and Veronica and the man and lady on the front desk in the evenings. Would wait till I return to see if things have been updated. H.
Very friendly staff, breakfast was great, and the staff in the breakfast room was amazing, when we were looking for stuff to do, the desk person was very helpful, and then printed any information that we needed
reasonable rates, nice clean rooms, easy parking, working Wi-Fi and the usual good best western breakfast. There are nearby restaurants and easy access to the bridge. The hotel appears to be working on more upgrading of rooms
Our group of friends traveled from Toronto to Chicago and stopped at the BW for 2 nights on either end of the trip. We were treated to first class treatment from customer service manager Veronica. Veronica was accommodating and personable and made our group feel at home. Hospitality manager Michelle ensured that the breakfast bar was well stocked with fresh food items. Her commitment to customer service and cleanliness didn't go unnoticed. Our group will definetly be staying there again.
We just overnighted here on our way to the Skakespeare festival in Stratford Ontario. The hotel is clean and comfortable and Best Western has been serving up a decent breakfast with good hot and cold foods. Wi-Fi was ok. There were eating places nearby.
I would never suggest another place to stay to anyone but a Best Western. From this day forward I will only stay at Best Western. No questions asked. I have stayed at the most expensive hotels and the cheapest ones and no matter what the price I will Always stay at a Best Western.
Wanted to get away without having to drive for a lot of hours and Port Huron is only an hour from us with nice beach areas close by. So for Fathers Day I whisked my husband away for the night, I asked for a quiet relaxed room and was pleasantly pleased, the room was clean, bed very comfy, shower had a real nice massage shower head ,frig and microwave, 32"tv. we really had a relaxing time and great nights sleep, checkout is not til noon. Very good breakfast sausage eggs great cubed potatoes waffle maker regular sized and 4 mini waffle maker and fruit yogurt pastry etc. with an awesome attendant that went up and beyond normal to serve, also the staff from check in to check out were pretty awesome they have a great team at this hotel. we did not use the pool but looked in the area the pool was small but clean, we would recommend this hotel it is just a 3-4 minute drive to shopping/downtown area and about 10 minutes or so to a really nice county park on North 25 / Fort Gratiot twp County Park. with nice beach we always visit when in this area. I'm so glad we tried a different hotel then usual for this trip, we found another great one that we will return to in this area sometime in the future.
This hotel has been nicely updated. Very friendly staff. Decent breakfast bar in the morning. It was quiet and my room was nice. There is a lack of dining options nearby and you have to travel to downtown Port Huron for anything other than a chain, but if you are satisfied with Cracker Barrel or Bob Evans (both nearby), you will be happy.
We were looking for a place to spend one night and not spend a lot. We decided on Best Western and were more then surprised how nice it was for the price. Don't be fooled be the outside. The rooms are very nice and the breakfast was very good also.
Stay in a king room a wonderful view of the Black River. The housekeepers were friendly and smiling. They seemed to like their job. I really enjoyed the breakfast area. The food was hot and there was plenty of it! The server Michelle was very friendly and helpful. The only disappointment of the hotel was the front desk receptionist (Veronica) yelling on her personal phone. No one wanted to hear her personal life while trying to enjoy our breakfast and get ready for our days. As I read more about the hotel on this site I could see more complaints about her, too bad because it is such a lovely hotel, its had many updates and looks great! To Michelle and the other workers: Keep up the great work!
Always clean, friendly and welcoming! Close to downtown, malls and event venues. The refrigerator and microwave are an added amenity most hotels do not offer. Definitely will keep using this as my "home away from home" whether travelling for business or visiting family in the Port Huron area.
This is a nice clean hotel with very comfy beds. The breakfast was very good and the staff very efficient and friendly. I would definitely stay again if I am out this way again. It has a good location for shopping and other restaurants.
This is and has always been my go to hotel all that i expect from a hotel i get from here its clean , have comfy beds that snuggle you to sleep lol , there's great customer service, and the continental breakfast is awesome . i love it
This hotel near the Canada Border is the best place to stay in the area. The hotel is tight off the highway. Very clean entrance. The room was exceptional but the pillows could be improved. The breakfast was just right to give you a kick start for the day. The pool was clean. The internet was fast.
This was our 2nd stay enjoyable stay here. Overall hotels are very similar, a room is a room! What I love here is friendly service, a great breakfast, problem free wifi, and clean room. I didn't use the pool but saw plenty of kids in there having a good time and it seemed well looked after. The only thing I would change is a little speedier elevator :)
Best Western is an excellent hotel and our experience was really great. It is close to shopping and we were very well treated. Close to Canadian Border and great for anyone shopping in Michigan. Across the road from Cracker Barrel.
We were in transit and this was a stop over on our travels. The room was clean and nicely decorated. We felt safe and comfortable here. The breakfast was included with our stay. There was a good variety to chose from. I will be happy to stay here again.
Appreciated the discounted prices, especially with our poor Canadian dollar. BW has done a very nice job with their renovations and continue to work on the breakfast area. The staff is always very accommodating and eager to make your stay comfortable and enjoyable. My ONLY complaint is their very LOW TOILETS & no grab bars! This is a COMMON complaint from guests at this hotel.
I have been to this hotel on earlier trips and I was extremely pleased that everyone of the staff were still doing everything with an attitude the they wanted to be better and better, keeping their methods and attitude at the very top level. It is much more difficult to remain at top form, once you reached that level of quality. It's very important that once you reach that level it is hard work and consistent efforts that mean Staying On Top.
They had very colorful flowers as you enter the hotel, the staff was very friendly with great service, the breakfast was also great the food was nice and hot.. are family enjoy the pool area as well..the room was clean (316)... would stay at this hotel again..
The staff at this Best Western are very friendly and helpful, and they are why we give this hotel a rating of Very Good. Everyone, from the front desk staff, housekeeping and the lady who helps during breakfast, were all so friendly and cheerful, thank you. Once we were in our second room (313), we were happy. The hotel is clean and seems to have had some remodeling done. The beds and pillows were comfortable, our room had a microwave and fridge, the shower worked great, and parking was safe and plentiful. The wifi was strong, the breakfast buffet was the same thing each day, but the food was hot, plentiful and ok as far as hotel breakfasts go. The elevator could use some servicing though, as it wasn't as smooth and quiet as we hoped. It was a bit scary and questionable at times, but always got us to the 3rd floor successfully. For the price we paid, we will definitely stay at this hotel again. ADVICE - steer clear of room 308!!!! We think the toilet vent for the building goes up inside the wall by this room. We could hear water rushing that sounded like it happened every time someone flushed their toilet. It was so loud that we had to turn up the volume on the TV. It only took us 20 minutes to ask to be moved to a different room. The lady at the front desk sheepishly said she didn't know anything about noises in that room, but I could see it in her eyes that they have to move a lot of folks from that room. Take my advice, and please don't be one of them.
Nothing spectacular, but the rooms were clean and the people working there were very helpful and nice. it was for one night and good for what we needed. The little town was very quiet, but we found our way around and enjoyed it and the people we met. Kind of historic in it's own way. Good place to stop before heading into Canada the next day.
This motel is conveniently located and comfortable. It could use a little TLC, new carpet in the halls, etc., but the bed was comfortable, the room was very clean and the staff was extremely hospitable.
I keep returning to this location, with different friends and my husband. Everyone has been happy with this hotel. Room has been clean, has everything we need, great location, internet service is excellent, and breakfast is very good, for hotel style offerings. This one has gluten-free options available upon asking.
The staff were friendly, helpful, attentive and service oriented. The beds are fantastic and that is saying something - the beds are high, and I am short. A feat just getting into it, and well worth the effort!
Booked the cheapest room we could get on Priceline and we were given a room here. The lobby areas and corridors are a little dated, but our bedroom was in great condition and looked like it had recently had a makeover. The staff were all very pleasant, from the lady who checked us in at 2.30am to the lady who was clearing the rooms. Breakfast is pretty basic, but it comes free with all rooms and has a small selection of hot items - scrambled eggs, sausage patties and potatoes. Bacon would be a great addition(it's never included in free breakfast hotels like Fairfield inns or holiday inn express'). I'd stay here again. I didn't use the pool but it looked in decent condition and clean.
I have stayed in the hotel before. It is a great location when travelling across the border home. It is only a minutes away. The staff is great. So helpful. I arrived late and was tired and the front counter gentleman helped me with the door and the elevator. It seems like a small gesture but when you are tired that means so much. Great hotel, staff is great. Beds are so comfortable.
Very comfortable bed, clean room, good variety of choices for breakfast. Quiet location. The high bed and low toilet (no safety bar on wall) may be difficult for older, less agile, people to navigate.
We had a great experience. Very friendly and helpful staff. Nice pool - great for kids. Shower had excellent pressure and whirlpool tub was great. Room was nice size, bathroom was huge. Bed was comfortable and kids enjoyed sofa bed. All in all, we had a great stay.
The staff at this hotel are very friendly and helpful. The hot breakfast is excellent...alot of good choices and Michelle who works in the dining room is cheerful and friendly The beds are comfortable and the rooms are always clean. The hotel is very close to the border and right across the street from the Cracker Barrel restaurant. It is a 5- 10 min drive to local shopping. The girls were shopping and the guys took in a movie at Kraft 8 with reclining seats...really nice they said!! You can use the internet at the hotel to check out the local store sales and I even print off store coupons. I would highly recommend this hotel to all Canadian visitors.
I have stayed at this hotel many times over many years. My last stay was the worst and it is sad to see it decline. Although not the hotel's fault, there was an army of children running amok without adult supervision, making it impossible to sleep and then they destroyed the breakfast bar the next morning. That aside, the bed was uncomfortable, the TV way too small, and the facility is lapsing into disrepair. I stay here because I have a Bestwestern Loyalty Card, but without it I would stay elsewhere.
This hotel had a very accomodating staff! We stayed here due to a hockey tournament in Port Huron, and they provided outsanding service! Michelle was particularly helpful at breakfast, and even left it open a little longer so our team could grab a bite to eat after their early morning game!
Great hotel. The staff were nice and welcoming, the room was clean and comfortable, the shower had good pressure and the toilet flushed properly. The breakfast was served early enough that we could enjoy it and still be off early enough and it was tasty... scrambled eggs, sausages, waffles, yogurt, fruit, bagels, cereal, etc. No complaints, will definitely stay there again when I return to the area.
This hotel knows how to attract cross-border shoppers. They offer guests incentives too attractive to turn down. Further more the staff was welcoming & friendly & went out of their way to be of assistance. The breakfast was one of the best that we have ever had at a hotel. Michelle the hostess made sure that guests were looked after & even volunteered to prepare waffles if we wanted them The rooms were clean & met with our expectations.
I went to Best Western Port Huron for Spring Break with an 8 year old and 9 year old and the Best Western had a great sized pool and awesome breakfast. It was close enough to the downtown area but also minutes from the Canadian Border.
This is the second time we stayed at this hotel and both times we had a pleasurable experience. The rooms very clean and beds were very comfortable. The staff were friendly with exceptional service. In the morning breakfast was also excellent with a wide variety of foods hot & cold to select from. We would definitely stay here again and recommend others to stay here.
Stayed here for two nights. Room 304 was perfect. It is on the 3rd floor facing the Black River, away from the elevator. The complimentary breakfast was awesome and so were all of the staff. Didn't get to utilize the pool, but it looked very nice. Will definitely come back here when visiting Port Huron.
My wife and I spent the night here to get away from the family for an evening. The Staff was great! The room was clean! The heater was fairly quiet. The only thing that lacked was the ability to output audio/video from my Laptop PC to the Television even though it add HDMI capability. They had the options locked out. Bummer. Other than that ... all good!
We always have a great experience when visiting the states and especially the Best Western Hospitality Inn. The staff is always very friendly and helpful. The hotel has been updated recently and it looks great. The rooms are very nice and clean. The front desk staff are very friendly and helpful with where to shop and eat, especially Veronica, who is just a very nice girl. We are very impressed with Michelle from the kitchen, she always comes around to see if there is anything you need or she can do for you. Its a fabulous motel and we stay there every time we go to the states and try to do it at least 3 times a year, so looking forward to our next excursion
Excellent staff, including Veronica at check in and Michele at breakfast made this experience! Clean pool and great shower in room. Elevator needs some maintenance, used the stairs a lot. Convenient to Cracker Barrel and city. Would stay again.
Stayed here a few times now, VERY VERY friendly and accommodating staff. Michelle from the kitchen meets your for their complimentary breakfast and sees to anyone's dietary needs. Veronica at the Front is very polite and friendly helps you find the room your wanting.
Every stay at this Hotel has been extra special with going for a dip in the pool to having a full HOT breakfast. Close to GREAT eating at the Cracker Barrel and close enough for all the amenities that you require for your stay! May it be a day or a week, with the mini fridge and microwave in the room, you have all the comforts of home. OH! did I forget to say that the price is one of the best in town. I recommend the Best Western Port Huron/Hospitality Inn to all my friends and family.
all the rooms have been refurbished and decorated and that includes the front lobby and dinning space. The breakfast is adequate providing both hot and cold selections. I especially liked the scrambled eggs. The staff was friendly as usual and very helpful should you have any questions. The hotel is an easy exit off I69 West and close to down town Port Huron and the stores , restaurants and mall on Pine Grove Ave. It,s our go to hotel whenever we stay in Port Huron.
Due to an unexpected problem at our home,we had to move to this hotel. The staff was very kind and considerate. The breakfast was the best we have had in all our stays at any hotel. The breakfast lady whose name is Michelle was very kind and always available to help everyone.
Great location to downtown and highway, with multiple options for food delivery. The room looks renovated and new. I love the new lamps in the room which have outlets in them. The front desk staff, and manager were very friendly and made me feel welcome. The breakfast in the morning was great for the low price I paid. Would recommend this place to everyone and would definitely stay here again.
Hotel is older, but well appointed. Staff very friendly and accommodating. A couple of fitness machines were not working in the fitness centre. Room lovely, especially facing the river. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would come back again.
Very nice front desk staff. Clean hotel. The central location and the fact that they are Pet Friendly made the choice for us. The great staff was a nice bonus....and being across the street from a Cracker Barrel store was a nice bonus as well.
The hotel was very successfully renovated in the last year, and what a great job they have done. All the staff was very friendly and knowledgeable and willing to go out of their way to be helpful. The breakfast buffet was very good and complete as I could see that everyone was enjoying themselves with the many item breakfast . I would highly recommend this hotel to everyone who happens to find themselves in Port Huron, Michigan. Great job to everyone involved as it was a team effort. Thankyou for a great 2 night stay.
I love coming to Port Huron from London Ontario Canada and when we come here we always stay here. It is close to everything for shopping and restaurants as well as clean and comfortable rooms. The staff is so helpful and courteous with a smile and a kind word and they never seem to rush a conversation. They take the time to talk to their customers and make them feel at home. The staff go out of their way for the children as well at the free breakfast they bring them colouring materials as well as talk to them and joke and smile. A special shout out go to Michelle & Cheryl who ran a wonderful breakfast the morning we were there. They kept everything moving smoothly and kept everyone happy and fed and kept things cleaned up as well. They were also there talking to the children and adults alike with a smile and made for a very enjoyable breakfast and visit. So thank you! As for the rest of the staff they are all terrific as well and I thoroughly recommend this facility for your staff with children or without. They have a pool and free breakfast and friendly staff and clean rooms what more can you ask for.!! ?
great place to stay, staff are so accommodating and very helpful, Veronica at the front desk and her twin sister on housekeeping are just the nicest people ever!! They always make us feel like family and always thank us for coming
I travel for a living and stay at high quality hotels about 300 nights a year. I was skeptical about a Best Western. My wife chose this hotel because it is pet friendly and in a relaxing location. I was very impressed with our stay. the front lobby was crowded when we arrived but the young lady behind the counter (Veronica) was very calm, collected polite and extremely competent. Our room was very clean, linen was in great shape, carpet was clean, full size "mini Fridge" and newer TV set. the bed was as comfortable as any I sleep in. There are chargers for electric cars, and a small play ground for children, indoors pool, All in all a very pleasant stay.
We stayed at the Best Western Port Huron/Hospitality Inn as part of a hockey tournament weekend. The kids enjoyed the pool. Breakfast was phenomenal, lots of choices and healthy options for the kids and adults to fuel up before a busy day. Beds were very comfortable and the rooms and common areas were very clean. You could tell that great pride was taken in the upkeep of the hotel. Additionally, we liked that the rooms were double queens, not full size, for extra sleeping space. The staff is what puts our stay over the top. Very cheerful, accomodating, and ready to help with anything we needed. The breakfast staff was ready, even for our early 6am weekend needs and even offered to come in earlier if we needed. Would recommend this hotel to others staying in the area!
This hotel is a good example of service and hospitality. They worked with our team to have a block of rooms available. Our room was clean, neat, and looked very nice. They have a generous pet policy as well, not overcharging ($10 per day) for that extra feature. Situated next to a park and right off the highway, the ease of getting in and out was good. What we liked most, though, were the employees who worked to make the full breakfast enjoyable. They were courteous, kind, and happy to help -- even clearing plates when they weren't busy tending to the food area. They asked "when is your first game in the morning" because while breakfast started at 6 am, they seemed willing to come early to accommodate us. We had a great experience and give this Best Western high marks.
Close to everything including Canada. Clean room and comfortable beds. Heater unit was relatively quiet. (sometimes I need earplugs because of the hotel heat or ac turning on and off all night.) Good number of channels on the TV. Staff was very helpful
On February 6 2016, Owner Mrugesh [--] while in front of several staff and guests publicly criticized my rates as being too low. He further stated that he would not recognize my Best Western elite diamond status at his property because I wasnt a big enough spender. In his absence, remaining staff apologised profusely and excelled at correcting the situation as best they could. Regular travelers should do everything in their power to avoid giving your money to this man. He is greedy and definitely does not appreciate YOUR business either.
Very comfortable beds. The bathroom was clean and offered enough towels complimentary soaps and shampoos. My family woke up and to my surprise we had a wonderful breakfast that offered many choices to eat from waffles eggs sausage even breakfast potatoes bagels doughnuts danishes many many more choices to choose from. The pool was clean and they even allow small dogs.Definitely would stay at this Best Western again!
We recently stayed overnight while taking advantage of post-Christmas sales & were really impressed with the improvements since our last visit,18 months ago. The staff are friendly, attentive & take pride in their jobs. The rooms have been renovated & are bright, clean & exactly as they appear on the website. The beds are comfy & each room has both an easy & desk chair. A microwave & fridge along with a coffee maker are standard. Vending/ice machines are located on the 1st & 3rd. floors. During our visit the ice machine on the 3rd flr. was not working. This was reported to Ronald who immediately advised maitenance. The rooms at the back have a nice view facing the river. The pool area was spotless & the pool although not large was sparkling ! The only thing missing was a hot tub. This location is pet friendly as well. At breakfast we noted several guest checking out with well behaved dogs of all sizes. All was quiet during our stay. Breakfast on Sunday is served until 10:00 am. We arrived at 9:45 & found the buffet to be well stocked & complete with the usual items including fresh fruit, 4 choices of juice ,pastries, cold cereals & yogurt. Hot items included a waffle maker, sausage rounds, hash browns & really great tasting soft & fluffy scrambled eggs. Even the coffee was good ! Michelle oversees the Breakfast room & makes sure that everything is kept in tip top shape & her guests are happy. We appreciated the cleanliness of the food areas as well as the tables. The breakfast room is somewhat small however, there is another room which is available for overflow seating. A few pictures on the walls would make the room a bit more cozy in addition to the fireplace & large TV. Other options are available as Cracker Barrel is within walking distance & Bob Evans is a short drive. We look forward to our next stay !
The staff were wonderful, and the bed was comfortable. The room was clean. The public spaces looked a little tired. The breakfast buffet was pretty standard—not much fiber, a lot of sugar, and those nasty, prefab eggs...
We were in Port Huron for a hockey tournament with our family of 5. Tammy and Ronald were so incredibly accommodating and kind. They were so nice to the kids. The breakfast in the morning was outstanding. Hot, lots of variety and clean! Something for everyone. And the morning staff, Michelle, Cheryl and Veronica were so attentive and worked so hard to ensure you have everything you need. The accommodations are what you would expect for this type of hotel. Clean and updated. The pool area was clean and not too much chlorine. Nothing special, but the service FAR exceeded anything I would otherwise expect. Thank you to all mentioned and anyone I haven't for a great weekend.
We have stayed here a few times. We like that it is pet friendly, staff is very pleasant, room is very clean, and free breakfast in the morning. What more could you ask for. I do feel that the hotel could offer better room rates, considering that there is no hotel bar, and not much to offer for the area/location. But overall, our experience has always been a good one and cleanliness and kind staff are key to our decisions to stay.
We were traveling through the area and booked a room here. The initial room we were in was very warm. We called the front desk and was given wonderful service. We were given a lovely room immediately and the best thing is that the air conditioner worked. A very good breakfast was served the next morning with a good choice of foods. Breakfast is included with the room. We would definitely stay here again.
Family members came from Florida, Lake Orion, and Auburn Hills, so we could all be together a few days after Christmas. We were given a late checkout and then allowed to gather in the lobby/eating area until everyone had to return home. The staff were all very friendly and courteous. This will be our hotel of choice for future gatherings!
This is a small hotel but the amenities for the size were great! The owner fixed a small problem we had very quickly and our short stay was very nice. The breakfast had a very good selection and we were very satisfied.
This is the second time we have stayed at this hotel. Nice place to rest after a long day shopping. Close to everything and breakfast is good. Reasonably priced as well. Will definitely come back here.
When I checked into this hotel this was my first stay at any Best Western. The bed was extra fluffy and super comfy. Staff was very nice. Breakfast was the best breakfast I've had from a hotel in a long time. Big thumbs up to this location. I typically stay in Marriott Brands like Courtyards, Autographs and Residence Inn. This hotel definitely was a competitor.
Our overall stay was great to say the least. But the breakfast was the deal maker..Since we were traveling we didn't have time to enjoy what the area had to offer. Perhaps next time! The only problem was a broken sink stopper which posed no problems.
We were very pleasantly surprised by the high quality of this hotel. We stayed for just one night and loved how clean and tidy everything was. The management/staff were all very kind even though we stayed over Thanksgiving eve/Thanksgiving morning. Our room stayed nice and warm without having the bad smell of a malfunctioning heater. Thanksgiving morning's hot breakfast was a NICE spread. This is no continental breakfast-it's a buffet! Proteins, fruits, and carbs rounded out the meal. The coffee tasted good-not scorched as is the norm in far too many hotels. The pool was a good size and didn't have that horrible stench akin to most indoor pools. We will definitely stay here again if we return to Port Huron.
After having tried 2 other hotels in Port Huron we discovered this Best Western and have made it our preferred hotel for future visits. We have stayed here 3 times and always find friendly staff, great service and an excellent breakfast which is included in the price. With the Canadian dollar being low we were given a special offer rate for our recent visit. which was very much appreciated. An all around great experience.
The staff is always friendly. Good amenities. Very comfortable beds. It is so nice to have a high quality restaurant within walking distance. It means a lot to have a place that we can take our newest member of our family when we want to take our dog.
The family gathered for a funeral in Lexinton and the Best Western made our trip comfortable. The kids loved the pool. The adults would like a hot tub. The food in the area was good. Why is it a minimum of 200 charaters? Seems good feedback can be one word Excellent.
We came only for the weekend to do some Christmas shopping. We stayed in a king size room. Bed was clean and comfortable-- no bugs- however the fitted sheet kept coming off- not a huge issue, just an annoyance. Bathroom clean and adequately supplied with towels and soap. No issues with the room- very quiet- heard no one yelling or loudness from hallways, other rooms or from outside. Typical best western breakfast- nothing special, but hey, its free (or included in the price)-- if you don't like what they are serving there is a Cracker Barrel across the street and many restaurants around the corner. All the usual stores a short distance away (5 minute drive)- JC Penny, Macy's, Kohl's and Walmart. Would recommend.
I stayed at this Best Western because they have a Tesla charger. The hotel itself is just ok. The room was clean, but the hallway carpets need attention. I would recommend this hotel for a quick stopover, but not for much else. The staff was great when I came in, but not so attentive when I left the next morning.
Wonderfully friendly, helpful staff. This was our second stay here at this hotel. We came back because we were made to feel so welcome. The hotel is clean. The wifi internet worked great. It's close to shopping in Fort Gratiot. Just 5 minutes from the Sarnia border crossing.
We truly lucked out when we booked this hotel. The staff made us feel like family - from the time of our arrival and greeting from Ron at the desk, who ensured our needs were met after our long drive and late arrival, to our breakfast experience with Michelle who made all patrons feel comfortable with conversation and laughter. You couldn't help but smile. The rooms were clean and comfortable. Internet service was good and parking was convenient. We would not hesitate to return to this hotel.
The service was great. They helped us make sure all of our equipment was connecting correctly for our business meeting. And the rooms were very nice. We stayed in the king suite that night and I enjoyed that the whirlpool tub wasn't in the living area. It was in the bathroom so you could have private time and enjoy a bath. The bathroom was huge too. Lastly the hotel was only a few minutes from the waterline. You have to drive but it was only like a 4/5 min drive
For our twice yearly girls weekend, my girlfriend and I use Priceline to book rooms in either Michigan or New York ( Ontario residents). This year we got an amazing price for the Best Western, and we were very happy as we've stayed here a few other times. Check in is always great with Mrugesh ( sp) and Veronica, both are friendly and professional but can also laugh and joke around with us. King rooms were clean and well equipped, as usual. This hotel is super easy to get to, and to navigate from. The breakfast lady is very nice and very hard working and we're always glad to see her. Nice selection of breakfast foods, both hot and cold. We will not hesitate to return!
Our second visit here. Clean, friendly, and close to everything. And the kids love the heated pool. The breakfast is the best, a good variety of food for everyone. The employees here are always friendly and helpful.
Although Port Huron, Michigan does not offer convenient access to Hotel/Motel accommodations, I was so glad to find the Best Western on a rainy night despite construction problems. Victoria gave me her card which I shall keep for further help. Victoria is an excellent representative of your firm.
Great hotel for the value. Clean rooms, fantastic beds and reasonable hot breakfast. Staff are friendly. Only disappointment was the pool temperature. It was so cold even my 10 yr old couldn't stay in long.
We have been here previously, and enjoyed our stay then, so we decided to go back. While the hotel is just a touch tired around the edges, everything else is great. The staff are lovely and friendly, there is a pool, the free breakfast is great (and super coffee, you guys! I rarely get that, don't change a thing please!), and the room clean and comfortable. It is set a bit away from the road, which makes for a nice, quiet stay. It is conveniently close to everything and easy to find. We'll be back!
The Best Western in Port huron is close to the Canadian border and close to the on/off ramps for I-69. Attractive and completely updated with new decor, extremely comfortable beds, artwork, flat screen TV's, elevator to rooms in the lobby, good tasty breakfast with large variety of choices. You won't be disappointed.
The room was rather tight but the bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was nice and the service was great. There were two people working the breakfast area and desk and they both pitched right in to help their patrons and one another. They made sure everyone had what they needed and were very pleasant. I can handle a smaller room if I get a good nights sleep and feel like the employees care!
During my last number of trips to Port Huron, I've stayed here. This hotel has been updated over the last couple years. Friendly staff, clean rooms, quiet location, easy on and off the interstate, close to the bridge to Canada, offers the usual continental breakfast. They have gluten free muffins in their freezer, and are available to celiacs upon request.
We like staying at that particular Best Western because is has a friendly and professional staff, Nice breakfast and clean rooms with comfortable beds. The staff always make us feel so welcome. We stay there quite often because it is close to the border and it also has some restaurants close by.
Located right off the highways, the motel seems new or upgraded. The staff is well trained, friendly & knowledgible. They will go out of their way to make sure you enjoy your stay. The rooms are nice, clean & comfortable.
We looked forward to staying at Best Western in Port Huron-it's close to the shopping district and restaurants. The rooms were cheerful and the beds were very comfortable. The breakfast lady was very kind and helpful, even cleaning up our dirty dishes. We enjoyed our stay there and have recommended it to our friends.
Room was good and clean. On 3rd floor and had good wifi reception. Breakfast had cooked egg, sausage and potatoes. It was busy and had a few minutes wait for sausage patties. The lady looking after the breakfast area was very busy but she was very happy, pleasant, apologetic and just really nice, which is a rarity. Overall a pleasant stay and I will use this one again.
we have stayed here 5-6 times great location great value for your money close to highway close to restaurants 20 from shopping friendly helpful staff nice pool, newly renovated gave us room cheaper because were Canadian helped with exchange rate only place we stay in port huron will definatly stay again
My daughter and I needed a place for an overnight stay in Port Huron and I chose well. The employees were friendly and attentive and the hotel was well appointed and comfortable. We had a great River view out of our window which showed off all of the beautiful colors of autumn. The hotel was easily accessible to the freeways and minutes from the Blue Water Bridge to Canada. In the morning we came down to breakfast and were greeted by Michelle who was cheerful and helpful---a great way to start the day! We will absolutely stay there again when traveling to Port Huron!
This was the only hotel available with 2 queen beds for our stay. The room was clean, beds comfortable. Not very spacious though. Bathroom DID have a tub/shower combo which was great since we had our 2 grandchildren with us. The man who checked us in was great, he was really busy and we checked in at midnight! But it went pretty smoothly. The breakfast was decent with hot and cold food to choose from. It was the same each morning though, nothing different, so if you are staying very long you'll want to go to a nearby restaurant for a change. Michelle was super helpful and super nice. The only reason this hotel didn't get 5 stars from me is because of the road construction right at the driveway entrance. It was dark when we checked in and had a hard time figuring out how to get in, and also the parking is not great. The parking lot is not around the building like most are, it's to one side of it and there were no parking spaces available. We had to park at the very end near the road and walk up to the hotel in the dark.
Overall the hotel wasn't bad. Definitely is a retread. That said, the renovations were good overall. The rooms were clean; hallways and stairs not as much. Breakfast was fine and included eggs, sausage, and potatoes. The attendant was very friendly and accommodating. The hotel isn't in the nicest location but overall it was fine. My main gripe was that at about midnight a party was going on in the room next to me. Sounded like several 20 somethings. They were very loud and I could feel banging against my headboard at times. It went on for hours and was on the 2nd floor right above the front desk. Why didn't the staff put an end to it??
Great Stay in Newly Renovated Rooms. I would Recommend everyone in my family and friends. Great Hot breakfast. Comfy mattresses and great Clean bathroom. Elevator was fast and swimming pool was clean and warm. Meeting room was large enough for small meetings.
There were 12 of us that spent the weekend here to celebrate our friend's 50th birthday! The hotel staff was exceptional. they bent over backwards to help make our stay comfortable and memorable. Michelle worked both mornings to serve a great breakfast. She went out of her way to get me gluten free muffins and anything we asked for. Veronika goes above and beyond to make our stay perfect!
Clean rooms comfortable beds, delicious breakfast. swimming pool. Comfortable lounge with large screen TV. Would certainly recommend this Best Western to family and friends and if returning to Port Huron will stay here again. First trip to this area from Windsor, Ont. for a wedding in Applegate. Veronica gave us directions to get to our destination and Michelle was helpful and prompt with breakfast supplied also both ladies were awesomely friendly. Thank-you.
A wonderful experience. Excellent, experienced staff. Location is handy to shopping and easy to reach off I-69. Breakfast is ready at 6:00 and coffee is available 24-7. The lobby is comfortable and there is a computer available to access the internet and your e-mail.
Just stayed one night while traveling. We have stayed here many times before and it has always been ok. Good breakfast, room was clean and comfortable. Walking distance to Crackerbarrel. Only slight problem was they were doing road work right in front of entrance. Hopefully that will be completed before we stay there again.
Nice and clean rooms, very helpful staff (Veronika rocks!) rooms are a little pricey but cost is offset by the service. Breakfast is the typical average hotel breakfast. Flat screen TV's in each room.
