Best Western Lamphey Court Hotel

Whilst the lovely area sells itself, and the stunning hotel is really impressive, what really made this break a memorable lived experience was the staff. Professional and friendly to name but two of many positive attributes, they made it feel like a ‘home from home' with friends and family, as opposed to a hotel. Claire, the Manager, has a genuine warm smile that could warm the coldest room in itself. The epic food was a culinary delight. To summarise … just wow!

Driving up to this impressive building, through beautiful grounds we were all expecting a rather special experience. Throughout our stay the hotel the staff were very friendly and accommodating, the food extremely good and bar prices fair. However dated rooms with damaged electrical sockets, telephone broken, equipment out of PAT date and shabby finishing did rather spoil the stay. Not a four star environment. Hope Best Western make this one of their priorities for a proper refurbishment, because it has enormous potential for being really special.

This hotel has potential as the outside and setting are beautiful - unfortunately this hotel is in need of a serious refurb. Stayed one night for work and was put in a studio room - spacious, but a bit wierd and outdated. Kitchen was big but not well equipped - no wine glasses or cutlery. Came with a coffee machine but no pods to go in it? Bathroom was ok, but hasn't been updated in many years. The shower wasn't much more than a drip. Bed was horribly uncomfortable and the entire room was covered in dust (months worth) - cleanliness was pretty appauling throughout. Even when first entering, the bed looked disheveled and the floors hadn't seen a hoover in a while. So much so, I kept my shoes on for the most part of my stay. Food in restaurant was good, what you would expect. The staff were all brilliant, friendly, helpful - really the only redeeming quality of this hotel. It was fine for the night but I wouldn't stay here again if I can help it. Definitely not a special occasion location either! Management need to look at the quality of cleaning - I don't mind basic, but when it's actually dirty too, that's a no-go for me!

Beautiful building from the outside & inside generally good order. Dinner served in conservatory which effectively has garden furniture and is cold in March, weird as breakfast served in a more appropriate room ? Bed was probably one of the worst I've ever stayed in. Room clean but lacks modern touches like adequate sockets & the ability to switch main lights off by bed. Swimming pool only usable if you kept swimming, too cold to use loungers, ladies changing room floor was filthy, clearly not checked all day. 2nd night went down to dinner to be told there was no table to be had as they had a large party in (another room apparently as restaurant was empty) had already ordered drinks so could not drive anywhere and the hotel is not walking distance to anything. Another guest (not the restaurant server or barman we had spoken with) mentioned we could order pizza from the kitchen. Ourselves and 2 other couples sat in the bar with boxed pizza. We would have much preferred to have been advised sooner that we could not eat at the restaurant. We have experienced this at other Best Westerns and simply made bookings elsewhere.

We had a wonderful 2 night stay. All the staff were great and the restaurant was very accommodating when arrived later than expected on our first evening. Would definitely recommend. Set in a beautiful part of the countryside. We will return. again.

Arrived at the hotel on Friday to a lovley welcome from the reception team, allocated to our room to find the bedroom 23 a lovley spacial room with a super king size bed and clean, shower was hot and bathroom was clean. Bar area and food was excellent and the staff were friendly and most very welcoming. Overall experience was good except from being able to hear noise above from others which is not hotels fault, bottle water could be left as a complimentary gesture. Spa experience was very good and relaxing and we would definitely return

Room was not 4 star, view from room was a wall and a banking, cleanliness was poor, sweet wrappers under the chairs, put towels in the bath to be replaced this was not done, so we had to go to reception to sort out, no new bin liner put in bathroom. When we checked out we mentioned this to the receptionist and she didn't seem bothered. Would not go there again

The decor is tired. First night we had tepid water which we can deal with. 2nd it was cold. When we questioned the chilly jacuzzi we were told it is kept at 32/33 for the kids. Far too cool to sit in and relax which is just as well as the chemicals hurt my eyes after a couple of minutes. The staff were really friendly and helpful. We had a dulcet gusto machine on our room but were given 1 pod between us for our 2 night stay. The duvet was a size too small for the bed and very thin/ flat

Considering the amount of money it cost for a single night I would have expected a lot better. The room was poorly maintained (cobwebs,mold and dead spiders) with old fashioned furniture and a relatively small bed. Not the room I expected when I booked. The spa was ok but the sauna and steam room were not open together so had to wait until the following day to use the one I missed the previous day. On the plus side the breakfast was really good and I couldn't fault it

This review is just for the spa. I'm sad to write a negative review however I have reached out to the spa manager but have not been able to get any where with my complaint. My cousin and I booked a treatment based on an instagram advert. The treatment we received was 25 minutes shorter than advertised. I mentioned this to the therapist and showed them the advert and she offered me entry into the pool area as compensation, I explained that I already had paid for entry into the pool area as part of a food package I'd also booked on the same day. I asked to speak to the manager who was not available and was told they would contact me. I chased up the complaint to be told again that I was offered entry into the pool as compensation for the shortened treatment, to again explain I'd already paid for entry into the pool that day. I was hoping for a reply and at least some empathy or acknowledgment of the incorrect advert or treatment but nothing. I find it very disappointing when businesses feel they can short change or rip off guests and not acknowledge any wrong doing. The pool area is also dirty black mould in the jacuzzi and generally untidy. It's a shame that such a fantastic setting isn't run with a high standard of customer service.

Good hotel and brilliant spar facilities, friendly helpful staff, clean & quiet room. Good quality & selection for breakfast. Just don't assume you can book a table in the restaurant on arrival, be prepared to walk (approx 10 minutes) to the nearest pub, or take your own bag of crisps!

Celebrating our anniversary we booked this hotel hoping for a 4* experience, a nice room and beautiful food and drinks in a lovely setting, we were disappointed with our stay due to a small dusty room with no view, Ok food, overpriced drinks and a basic overall stay. It didn't feel as special as we'd have like after paying £200 a night. I wouldn't recommend or stay again.

We stayed here for a friends birthday. The outside of the hotel and grounds are very impressive, what's on the inside is more disappointing. We had a room for 4 in a separate wing from the main hotel which had its own parking area outside. There is no covered link or short cut back to the hotel so we got very wet going between the 2 blocks! The stairs up to the room (234) were poorly lit with some broken bulbs and desperately in need of a good hoover. The room itself was a good size with a main room with double bed and sitting area, and a separate twin bedroom. The bathroom was small and the shower (over the bath) extremely disappointing in terms of a severe lack of water pressure. The bathroom in particular needed a good clean and upgrade. We didn't need both pillows so propped one against the radiator beside the bed - in the morning it was wet as the radiator seemed to have a leak. Staff have been informed so hopefully that will be addressed as a matter of urgency. Evening meal was tasty and reasonably priced, the staff were very friendly. It's worth booking in advance. No bookings were taken for breakfast but it would be a good idea for the hotel to start doing this as we unwittingly arrived at a very busy time resulting in an unreasonably long wait for hot food. Again the staff were lovely but it meant that we didn't have time for our planned swim before we left. The pool looked lovely but we were informed that the hot tub was out of action. Overall with a bit of attention this place could be stunning but as it is it's pretty disappointing.

After a gap of some years since our last visit, my wife and I were delighted to find that this lovely hotel still offered the same excellent accommodation and cuisine which we had previously enjoyed. The staff are all welcoming and friendly, doing all they can to make the hotel experience as comfortable as possible. It is well situated for visits to the seaside, or nearby towns such as Pembroke and Penarth, which are delightful country towns. We did not use the Spa facilities on this occasion, but used to enjoy them on our previous visits, in the separate dedicated leisure block.

Terrible hotel and rude staff! Not dog friendly hotel fasly advertised and costs a fortune. Charges extra for breakfast and service to your room, no mention of being in an outer building for hotel stay with an animal. Had no response to complaint letter Never stay here again

We thought the views were outstanding. The staff clearly worked very hard to keep the gardens immaculate. We stayed in a studio with our elderly dog. The rooms were very comfortable and we could park right outside. staff couldn't have been more helpful. I really enjoyed the breakfasts , good choice and cooked to order and served very hot. Coffee and tea taken to order and served at the table too. The gym was very well equipped. we would recommend to friends and family. very well situated for exploring the Pembrokeshire Coast.

If you're looking for a dog friendly hotel do not come here! On arrival at reception to check in we were greeted with you can't bring your dog in here, it's ok while your already in here to check in but don't come in here with him again ! Hotel is Advertising as dog friendly but only place dogs are actually allowed are in certain guests rooms, ours was called the coach house at back of hotel where you get woken up by kitchen deliveries. There's no lounge area where you can relax with a drink with dogs and no area for meals, if you have meals delivered to your room they charge £5 extra per tray. All in all it was a most unpleasant stay and I would not recommend going here.

We stayed in one of the outbuildings. The entrance area is very dated and the room not much better. Double bed was very narrow and in need of replacing. Whole room was in general need if modernisation. Shower was barely capable of a trickle of water. Evening meal was a strange experience. Food that arrived not as ordered or as on the menu. Also odd to see a tip of 10% automatically then added to the bill. Breakfast involved a 20 minute gap between two of us getting food. Also odd not be offered coffee/tea at breakfast - you have to actively ask/request it So very disappointed given that this place is far from cheap.

This is not what it's sold as on the website. Room was clean, staff were lovely. Spa was tiny and with about 10 kids in there not a relaxing place to be. Food was shockingly average. Would not recommend

The final interaction killed our experience we had a really positive experience generally, with average food but good staff interaction but spoiled by the final hurray where we were charged Fira late check out with out any warning of interaction. That left quite a sour taste

Beautiful location but fell a bit short of expectations. Moved one of the armchairs forwards in our room and it was dirty behind, with a bottle lid on the floor. Evening meal was very nice but service was a bit slow. We had to ask twice for a jug of water. Breakfast was disappointing - very small cooked breakfast. We weren't offered tea or coffee and had to ask. Also had to ask for toast. It's a lot of money for what it is and I certainly wouldn't describe it as 4 star.

We decided on the spur of the moment to book a last minute break and we were not disappointed. This Hotel is set in beautiful grounds, an old country house with all the elegance that comes with it. Plenty of parking, a fabulous swimming pool and leisure centre just a few yards away. Very good food for breakfast and evening ( they do full cooked breakfast although it doesn't say so on the website) and if you only have a small appetite, make sure that you say exactly what you want ie: only 1 slice of toast with scrambled egg unless you actually want 2 etc, the portions are very large. Very central for exploring Pembrokeshire. AND the most comfy bed that I have ever slept in!! My only negative is that on the picture of the room on the website for the deluxe room, it does show a nice bowl of fruit etc. As you are paying more for this room I thought that was included, it's not. Maybe they should alter their picture!

Short stay but value for money. Evening meal in conservatory fine, enjoyable swim and walk in gardens and over ruins of Bishops palace nearby. Beautiful country outlook too. Good location, and close to beaches of Manorbier and Tenby.

We have had a lovely 2 night break in this stately old hotel in Pembrokeshire. The receptionists, bar staff & breakfast room staff were all excellent…..exceptionally polite, friendly & helpful. Breakfast was extremely good with generous portions of tasty food. N.B: Only one negative comment on that….my wife is a coeliac & although she was offered a good choice for gluten-free breakfast, it would be very easy for the kitchen to use gluten-free sausages & hash browns for everyone as most hotels do now. They are readily available, usually higher quality & very tasty. The spa is very good & we particularly enjoyed the pool & jacuzzi. The hotel setting is glorious, peaceful & well situated for many beaches, Tenby & Pembroke. We visited the ruins of Bishops Palace about 200 metres from the hotel. What an amazing place, free to enter, large grounds & ruins to explore. My only negative comment about the hotel is that the rooms are somewhat jaded & could do with updating but that didn't detract from a thoroughly enjoyable stay. Thank you.

Don't know where to start, poor communication from staff. Told robes and slippers were at the spa waiting for us so didn't take towels with us. No the spa dose not provide them. After asking staff hotel then put them in are room. Room dirty , grubby dusty and stained. Bathroom was poorly painted and poor finishing. Fan in bathroom didn't work full of cob webs . Evening meal served cold in a cold conservatory and heating didn't work. Hotel cold . Bed was 2 single beds pushed together. Room also noisy and moldy. Swimming pool very cold. Place run down and tired. Staff unprofessional and lack training. Breakfast was a joke served in a full turf room . We couldn't stay the second night still paid full for the first night stay which was £197 . Please avoid this place . The first hotel to actually make me cry . Spent less than 24 hours there , when it should have been a relaxing luxurious weekend. My car was warmer than hotel so spent a lot of time sat in my car to warm up . Not worth the money .

Booked in for 27-29th Jan 23. Arrived at beautiful location,looked grand at first. At reception was told robes and slippers would be ready wait for us at the spa. Told were to go to room. Room at first glances looked nice tidy,but once settled in started to notice loos of dust every where, dust and dirt on the doors, skirting boards,hand rails around the room,dust on lamps and lampshades, broken and dusty wall lights and shandies. Was a stain on bedside lamp shade.bathroom paint job, poor and untidy, dried paint splatter on mirror and tiles, there was mold on bath tapes and shower head, broken tiles, Condensation dripping from ceiling as bathroom fan so blocked with dust and cob webs.paint work on doors scuffed and chipped, curtains not hooked on properly looking scruffy, hair drier old slow took 40 mins to dry partners hair.dinner was in a extremely cold conservatory, dinner nothing special no better than an average weather spoons meal.my partner dressed up all nice in new dress and had to put on her thermal socks and boots and had to put on my hoodi to stay warm,was moved to a radiator that didn't work, another couple also asked for Thier radiator to be turned on, the radiators did not work, staff didn't seem to bothered. My partner was so cold at dinner she went to car to cry and warm up, with heated seats. She cried couple time through night as didn't sleep, 2 single bed put together, zipped together with a cover, this lead to a very uncomfortable night sleep. I'm 6;2 and feet were hanging off end off bed and woke up with sore back,woke up at 6.30am to find my partner not there and again crying in the car. Bedroom was warm enough. Breakfast was served in tired cold room, breakfast was extremely small and disappointing. Spoke with manager who offered to change rooms but at that point my partner had already decided she didn't want to stay any longer. We had refund for the second night we didn't stay and money off are drinks, still paid £197 for a real bad night sleep and very poor experience and £11 for something we don't know ?.manager not bothered by situation, staff made comments to other guests about the cold dinner room and the cost of living and how heating is just a luxury. Other guest response was, at this cost it should be warm. The spa swimming pool was very cold so we couldn't use it , steam room didn't work, again the spa was cold and dull poor lighting again looked tired. Didn't book treatment after seeing the poor dull treatment rooms.

Wonderful hotel and a lovely place to stay in. Gorgeous food, fantastic staff, spotlessly clean. Nothing was too much. I read some negative reviews but honestly I don't know where they stayed, not here!

We stayed in one of the pet friendly rooms which was warm, clean and comfortably furnished. Staff were very friendly and we enjoyed our meal in the pretty conservatory restaurant. Stunning setting and lovely walks nearby.

Fabulous property in a fabulous location, great views and lovely rooms with great facilities, pool etc. Rooms very clean, though check shower pressure and heating on arrival. Great base for South Pembrokeshire and surroundings.

After an alteration to our original plans, we decided to return to Lamphey Court. We had stayed there 3 times in period 2014-2016 and found it enjoyable. This visit with our dog was again very enjoyable. The ambience together with the dining, walks and a very 'can do' attitude of all the staff maid it a pleasant stay.

Should be a lovely stay but let down by poor restaurant and leisure facilities. Needs a visit from Head office to get them back on track. Allowed to drift into mediocrity. Lovely location with potential to be good

All members of the team were friendly, polite and efficient, particularly the bar staff. The room was a great size with a piping hot shower. The dinner tasted amazing and breakfast was tasty with plenty on offer.

The building and grounds are picturesque, the room although a little dated was spotlessly clean and spacious, the staff were very friendly and welcoming, the restaurant was in the conservatory area and the food was nice and service good, the breakfast buffet was everything you want and the cooked breakfast absolutely sets you up for the day, the Spa area is lovely and the Steam room was a welcomed use also the jacuzzi eases you ready for the day. All in all a great stay, sometimes it's lovely to stay at a period hotel rather than the clinical environment of a premier or travel lodge . Thanks for the great banter with Steve in the bar and we will return when Strawberries are in season lol

My wife and I spent two nights here in September and were very pleased with the hotel. We had a BIG comfortable room at the front with views down to the village, overlooking fields where horses were grazing, which added to the country experience. We had an excellent dinner on our first night and drinks in the comfy lounge. Staff were very friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble. As the weather was good, we had a walk around the ruins of the Bishops Castle which was next door, very interesting, if you like that sort of thing. Would definitely stay here again, highly recommended.

Booked this for aSpa visit for my partner for private reasons . The hotel is fine but run by kids The Spa is 4 star The main issues were the evening meals supplied by Pizza Surprise etc and the Drugged up clientele in the hotel bar and at breakfast. We left the breakfast room because of thier behaviour We later found out they had been asked to leave because of issues in the Spa You don't expect this anywhere let alone a 4 star ???? Hotel

My wife and I recently stayed here for 2 nights. The hotel building is nicely situated being ~ 10 miles from Tenby. Its buildings/grounds, as well as the surroundings, are very attractive (definitely better than the BW norm) and give an excellent first impression. We were warmly welcomed upon arrival and allocated a room on the ground floor. When we arrived at the door we found that the room was still being serviced (it was after 4pm) and we were asked to wait for 10 mins. That was OK as were in no hurry. When we finally got into the room we found it spacious, clean, nicely decorated/furnished and with a comfortable bed and decent wi-fi. The adjoining spa was complimentary, and we made use of the swimming pool, jacuzzi and sauna (the steam room was out of order). All very welcome! Breakfast was generally very good, with a decent choice of hot/cold food of generally good quality (although the pastries were a bit disappointing). Dinner was more variable. Starters were very good, mains OK but desserts disappointing. All a bit pricey too (including the drinks). Service at the hotel was generally excellent being friendly, polite and efficient. Service with a smile really! The only real problem we experienced was with poor sound insulation from the floor above (we have had similar experiences at other hotels with traditional buildings). Whenever the occupants moved around it sounded like a herd of (creaking) elephants; no fun being awoken before 6 am with this cacophony! This was a real shame as, generally, the hotel is very quietly located with no external noise, and we were not disturbed by noise from adjoining rooms. However, this did not detract from a pleasant stay, and we would certainly consider returning one day. We would request an upper floor next time though!

We booked for a 5 girls Hen do for 1 night.Afternoon tea and massages were booked. AFTea was booked wrong by team, no resolution was provided to accommodate 3out5 girls had bruises and marks after massage Service and responsiveness of staff was appalling at dinner and breakfast Food is good.

The hotel and surrounding area beautiful. There is a hidden gem of some ruins of a palace. No one at the hotel mentioned anything. about it. Staff not the most knowledgeable or welcoming. The restaurant had a very limited menu, although the website gushes about the 2 restaurants but when we said we would like to eat no mention of the 2nd restaurant. The pizza's bases came out with very burnt. Net curtains hanging off the frame, bed mattress dirty. There was a sign at reception to warn guests of the hot water because the boilers were not working right. In the showers in the swimming pool the water was scolding, ridiculously hot. The swimming pool and area was lovely, clean and a pleasure to go to.

We have stayed here before, and chose to come back. The building and its setting are very beautiful. The staff are welcoming and helpful. The bar and lounge are small but pleasant. The cooked breakfast is good, the continental is a bit limited. The restaurant menu is adequate but there is potential for it to be improved

On driving up the driveway the building looks fab,reminds me of downtown inside a bit we stayed in the coach house which was OK as long as noone is staying above you room was nice enough need to fix handles on cupboard and paint the bath panel .fold out bed was hard to pull out so so to sleep on double bed was quite small .breakfast service wants updating bit all over the shop waited 30 minutes after sitting for someone to take breakfast order noone seems to have a set job they need more training but breakfast was lovely . The lamphey court hotel advertises its hotel as a beautiful victorian-style country home. And it is beautiful. However,by far not all guest are accommodated there. We were put into the "coach house studios", like about 20 other studios. Our room was on the ground floor, had no view, just into the backyard, was damp and dark. It is the complete opposite of what the webpage displays. We asked for a different room the very first night, the hotel did not offer anything else. They were just sorry. This is not what I expect from an expensive hotel. I would not recommend the hotel to anybody, would even warn them from the distrustful advertisement. It was a full disappointment that I do not wish anybody for their precious holidays. Especially not, if you book a 4 star hotel. The money is a complete waste!

Enjoyed our stay , very clean and tidy, food was average but over all very handy for sight seeing in local area. Tried to book spa services, while out and about but no one answered the phone. When we got back to hotel, asked at reception if we could book a spa service but was told to walk over to spa area ourselves.

From the minute we checked in, the hotel was wonderfull ,staff very friendly room was bigger than i expected bed was massive the spa was very relaxing pool sauna steam and jacuzzi had various treatments while there staff very laid back came home feeling very refreshed and relaxed

We used this hotel as a start point for our trip to South Wales. It was nice and peaceful and reasonably close to many places to see. The staff were very helpful with tips of things to see. Breakfast was good and we never left hungry. The food in the restaurant in the evenings was also very good.

I stayed here with a friend for a x2 night spa break. The room was impressive and comfortable. The spa facilities and gym were perfect for our needs. Food was amazing at both breakfast and dinner. Overall we loved the calm, friendly atmosphere of the place. A hidden gem with tons to do in the area.

I stayed for one night the staff were so helful friendly and all went the extra mile including receptionists dinning room staff and cleaners. My room was clean and very comfortable. My breakfast was beautifully freshly cooked and served by lovely staff. The surroundings were stunning and the swimming pool in the seperate spa building was exceptional. I would definately return again. Thankyou.

Booked double coach house room, got self contained room with kitchenette overlooking car park and kitchen. Not what we wanted. Not value for money. Settee not fit for purpose and uncomfortable. Noisey pipes all night. Shower pressure low. Staff inexperienced. Spa treatments cancelled on day we arrived. Very disappointed and won't be going back. Honeymoon will be remembered for wrong reasons.

We booked for three nights and we left after one the bed was the most uncomfortable I have ever slept in there was a awful noise when we investigated found out it was the kitchen extraction fan went off at 9.30pm and came back at 6am completely spoilt our stay it was my birthday completely ruined

We arrived to be told they had no record of my booking. The Receptionist had mistakenly cancelled my booking without even telling me. There was one room left in the annex. So I paid for a deluxe room but ended up with a small double. I have complained and taken it to the top but no refund and just a pathetic apology blah blah. Room was gloomy and should have been deep cleaned as dog friendly but I would say was not deep cleaned at all, and it had seen better days, an old lamp unplugged with lots of pat tested labels on it and a thick cobweb. Bed was too small and the bathroom was the smallest I had ever seen with short and narrow bath. All desperately needs updating. Dinner was non existent as waitress was so rude we walked out, however I think she did us a favour as we found a very nice place to eat nearby and ate there all three nights of our stay. Nice breakfast though some of it was lukewarm on days two and three. I will never stay with Best Western again, there are so many better places to stay. From their replies to my complaints I can honestly say they really don't care!

Stayed for our honeymoon. All the staff were friendly, warm and worked hard. Faces soon became familiar. All meals were delicious. Hotel is a grand building, maintained beautifully and super clean. Great facilities and gorgeous rooms. Spa and pool were a lovely addition also maintained and kept incredibly clean. Relaxing, special break - just what was needed.

This empressive building has a beautiful rural setting. Our studio room was well appointed and it was so nice to have comfy chairs to sit in if not working at the desk. The evening meal was delicious with interesting spices and beautifully presented. We stayed for business in the area so did not have time to make the most of the facilities, but would definitely like to come back again.

We recently stayed in one of the studio rooms here and it was a great experience. The rooms are clean and well presented (if a little dated). The hotel is located close to several areas within about a 20 minute drive to local beaches and Tenby. The hotel itself is situated in a very beautiful part of the county and right next to the ruins of Lamphey Hall which you can wander around also. The Spa was lovely, with free use of the pool, sauna, steam room and jacuzzi with a good array of additional treatments available for a decent cost. The breakfasts were very good with a decent amount of choice. The staff were also very friendly and helpful. We will definitely be looking to stay again soon.

Stayed for one night while exploring the surrounding area. First impressions were good - a beautiful country house hotel in a peaceful rural setting. Unfortunately the car park isn't particularly big. Don't be last to arrive in a large car! Having eaten elsewhere we didn't experience either dinner or breakfast (an extra £12 each) at the hotel so can't comment on the restaurant. Our room (4) on the first floor of the main building was accessed by a grand staircase. There are no lifts. The room itself was generously proportioned with a seating area and a large bathroom. Some have commented that the decor is dated, but I think it befits a building of this age and character and was at least comfortable and of good quality. There were a few minor cleaning and maintenance issues, notably a dusty chandelier and the extractor fan in the bathroom sounded like an idling tractor - very loud! Overall no issues experienced and a good, peaceful night's sleep. Particularly grateful to the helpful lady on checkout who took time to escort my partner to a step free exit from the building as we departed. At the time of writing the hotel website still contains prominent notices about various Covid-19 restrictions that - thankfully - no longer appear to be current. This almost deterred us from booking, so might be an idea to keep the guidelines up to date. I would add that we felt perfectly safe throughout our stay.

A week before our visit my husband heard that the awaited cancer surgery he needed was going to be during the booked visit to the hotel and we could only stay 1 of the 4 nights booked. We asked if we could bring forward the visit by one day and have two nights and then if we could use the other a few weeks later. The member of staff was very helpful and said we could but the manager point blankly said no. We offered the other three nights to our family and our grandsons wife agreed to bring her daughter and her mother. Although we were pleased she could use the other 3nights we were bitterly disappointed as having not been away for a few years because of illness and covid we were so looking forward to the break.

This was a very pleasant stay but the hotel is tired and needs a revamp. The dinner menu never changed so we went out to eat. The bedrooms were spacious but dreary but the bed was very comfortable and there was always plenty of hot water The spa was modern and well kept altho a treatment was cancelled without an explanation

Throughout visit, staff were warm, welcoming, and friendly. The Venue itself is gorgeous and historic with many of its features. Payed for the dine, b&b in a superior king room. Was disappointed with the room, seemed to be a standard at best with the bed a double that wasn't comfortable however the period features and large bathroom could make up for this. The food itself was tasty and in good portions with the service being quick and friendly. The bar is a little overpriced at 15 for 2 singles with mixers. Unfortunately, I have been unwell the night of and the past 2 days possibly as a result of the food. Hot breakfast was average at best but would definitively speak highly on the continental. Utilised the spa although no treatments were available. Prebooking definitely recommended although cannot see the availability online unless you have an membership account. Spa number not answered on 3/4 attempts prior however good response rate on email. But was not able to book treatment. Nooone on desks to ask about robes so had to use the towels provided. For a 3hr trip to spa noticed 1 staff member who reported she was not working on the desk. Pool was cold therefore spent most time in the jacuzzi and steam/hot rooms added to the lack of robes. Changing facilities small with unclean floors. Disappointed as this was the main reason for choosing this hotel. Overall Paying for 3* amenities and experience within a 4* Venue.

I booked a 2 night mini break for myself so that I could explore some of Pembrokeshire's outstanding countryside. The hotel has an incredible outlook, set just next to Bishop's Palace. Inside it is quite dated, but I found it to be clean. All of the staff from reception to housekeeping staff and waiting staff were very welcoming and friendly. The room itself was dated, but clean and the enormous bath was brilliant! I tried out the Spa - again - clean etc, but the water was rather cold and poolside was also cold - which meant that I wasn't able to hang around on the loungers for more than a few minutes - which I would have liked to have done. The negative about my stay was the appalling food. It was so bad, that I would not visit again, nor would I recommend it sadly. The first evening I decided on a beef burger (what can go wrong?). It was a chewy item which tasted like packet/frozen object with overcooked bacon and slightly burnt cheese. I was disappointed but didn't complain - but wondered how on Earth the hotel could justify the cost of it? The next evening, I had decided to eat elsewhere but in the end, I was too tired so I decided to give the restaurant another try. I wish I hadn't! I chose Thai style sea bass with fragrant rice. This dish arrived. Straight away it was obvious that the fish had been reheated - the flesh was hard and the taste was awful. I'm not sure what the Thai element actually was - but it wasn't served with 'fragrant' rice as I know it. I think they had emptied a microwaveable Tesco pilau rice into the bowl. There was water at the bottom - not sauce - water. At the side some grated carrot. I was actually really upset that the meal was so poor and left the restaurant. The serving staff were sympathetic and I wasn't charged for the dinner. I don't know what kind of experience/qualifications the chef has - or even that he or she are actually chefs - but they must have known that what they were serving was seriously bad. I felt ill all evening. If something is done about the quality of food, it would also be good to consider the quality of the coffee served at breakfast. It is watery and unpleasant with a vague tinge of coffee flavour. Coffee is massive at the moment - and many many people now have great coffee makers at home - I have. This trend should be recognised in the hotel and definitely improved.

Loved the location it was very tranquil , staff were so friendly and helpful. Grandchildren loved the swimming pool and adults did too . Breakfast was great, and catered for vegetarians in the family and gluten free .

Booked this fro two nights to explore the area dn to relax. Unforyunetly the chef had corvid and so were not saving evening meals. as it happened phoned ealier in the day and were informed then, so made other arrangements that first evening. On second nighht the htetel booked us to eat in the Lamphey hall hotel which as a half mile walk away, splendid meal.

First impressions for a 4 star hotel, the hotel looked nice, however that opinion soon changed on entry. The hotel is extremely old fashioned and run down, expect to carry your own bags to your room. I stayed 2 nights with friends, the first night we all stayed in a family room, 235. This room was absolutely run down. The bathroom, disgusting. The shower was so weak, my friend had to use the shower in the spa area. The bathroom had a funny smell to it. We should have argued the price of room on checkout, it absolutely was not worth the money we payed, (you can also hear your room neighbours, I didnt sleep well at all). The second night, we had separate rooms booked. Our room ,27, was better looking than the one we stayed in the night before, however you can clearly hear upstairs neighbours walk around and talk, I don't even get that level of clarity in the upstairs of my house!! Unfortunately for us, a new born baby stayed upstairs, we heard it cry all night and the parents walk around. The hotel should cater for this in that maybe parents with babies stay on the ground floors, as this completely disturbed my sleep. We didn't sleep well at all for 2 nights, the shower in this room was much better however, our friend who stayed in her own room had peanuts on the floor, not from her, and a stain on the pillow. We were not able to get a massage etc as no booking room, although if that compares to their pool area, I'm glad. This hotel is supposed to be relaxing, we visited the pool, where a family of teenagers were canon balling in the pool, being loud etc etc splashing peoples loungers at the side of the pool, yes the father was just as bad with no care. No-one from the hotel staff said anything. The hotel should really have a pool for children and a separate pool for adults, not sure how it can be relaxing with children in there! The jacuzzi area is dirty and cold, the pool was also cold. On our final day we decided to have breakfast at the hotel, we walked in sat down, and once ordered tea etc, told someone would come take our orders. We waited for over half hour for this. 3 tables, who arrived after us, all had their orderes taken first. I politely asked a young girl if we could order, she said she would get someone. An older lady came to to our table, and very rude she was. She interrupted us and said "I am serving this table, then I will serve you", we couldn't believe her attitude! Absolutely no need for it. The breakfast however was average. After breakfast, we checked out. My friend, who's birthday it was, decided to complain to reception staff about the service we encountered at breakfast, although I'm sure nothing will be done about it. While at breakfast, 3 lots of guests checking out all raised complaints about various parts of their stay, we were able to relate to each of those complaints. I will steer clear of this hotel in future, and suggest you do the same. It is not an enjoyable stay. Absolutely not a 4 star hotel or 4 star experience, complete sham, rude staff, and dirty rooms and pool area.

We popped in here on the off chance and was greeted by Angela who was such a lovely friendly lady on reception. Such a great deal bed and breakfast would highly recommend All staff so helpful and friendly breakfast was amazing full English cooked breakfast also fresh fruit yogurts cereals. Unlimited tea coffee. Scenery is stunning. We used the spa which was beautiful too so relaxing can't wait to go back with friends again. Highly recommend this hotel

We stayed in this beautiful hotel because we wanted to explore this area with the prospect of a longer visit next year. We both especially liked the warmth and friendly people which created a lovely atmosphere in the hotel. The room was very good warm and cosy in the main building and we slept well. We had upgraded our room but not all of the facilities had been set in place as described in the upgrade description, which maybe we should have chased up but we were not really bothered about as they were clearly suffering staff shortages because of covid and current problems in the hospitality trade at the moment. The restaurant and food was very nice with a varied menu, we were asked if we had any food allergies which needed to be considered too which impressed us as my husband is allergic to seafood. Over-all a very pleasant stay.

Fabulous weekend away with the girls. We relaxed, had afternoon tea, spa treatments and a wonderful time all around. The hotel is down sweeping drive, and very peaceful. However you can hop in the car and Tenby is just 8 miles away, so best of both worlds. Amazing breakfast each morning, with lots of choice. Staff were wonderful, nothing was to much trouble and the team looked to ensure we had a great break from a smooth check in, to recommended places to go. Well done to all the staff, in what is still a challenging COVID time

Hotel is very very dated and needs a lot of work done in order to justify the cost of one nights stay. Pool and spa area is lovely and you can tell it's new and modern in comparison to the rest of the hotel. Unfortunately the pool was very cold which lets it down. My partner went to reception to request a travel cot for our 10 month daughter and was told by a very rude member of staff that we had to pay a non refundable 10 pound payment! We paid a lot of money to stay in what was meant to be a family room (family friendly we assumed) The room was dated and we could hear every step that the above room were making (ceiling must have been made from wafer) so we had a lovely 6 am wake up call from the sound of multiple footsteps above. The bed was comfy on a positive. The breakfast room was again dated, limited choice on continental, however cooked breakfast was nice. Staff very unengaged (considering we had small children with us ) a smile goes a long way , even engagement with the kids would have been something. Will not be returning .

Hotel staff very rude and unhelpful , hotel dated and needs a lot of work to make it worthy of paying £172 a night… Requested a cot for my 10 month yr old baby which was an additional cost of £10 non refundable even though I was staying in a family room to which I stated the age of my Kids so they were fully aware I was coming with a baby… The pool was clean and tidy but very Cold I would not recommend this stay and was completely fooled by the pictures and other reviews

My wife, daughter and I enjoyed a 3-night stay and would happily stay again. The few issues with room preparation for three people were sorted out by reception when we arrived and the staff were all friendly and helpful. The hotel was comfortably warm (during cold March days), the breakfast was good and the pool and sauna an excellent facility.

Top notch location with excellent cooked food and service. Leisure facilities were up to date and well maintained. My preference would be for a larger duvet and softer bed, but fantastic otherwise. Lovely anniversary break

Just spent a week in Wales and a night here was the highlight in terms of accommodation. Nice, friendly staff and good food with plenty of choice at breakfast. Pool a nice size for swimming (unlike many hotels where you barely manage 3 strokes before having to turn). My coach house room, although in an annex, was spacious and well appointed, with a sofa, desk and comfortable bed. Quiet and surrounded by nature it ensured a good night's sleep. I've stayed in a few Best Westerns (they do vary but all are more individual than most chains) and this was definitely a 'keeper'. Hope to return.

We both enjoyed our stay very much, the staff were polite and very helpful. The breakfast competes with any we have had. The evening meal was enjoyable. If there was a down side it would be the pool, gym and spa being commanded by the local members. We will definitely go back.

My friend and I had a lovely couple of days at Lamphey Court Hotel. The staff were so friendly and helpful, and could not do enough to make our stay enjoyable. The room was great and the beds were very comfortable. I read a previous review about there being problems with the heating, but the radiators just took some time to warm up. We had a superior twin room and couldn't fault it. Yes, it's a little faded, but it's not selling itself as an ultra-modern hotel and sometimes, old-time glamour can be nice. The pool and spa are ultra-modern. Just to note, the pool and spa and not joined to the main hotel but a tiny walk away. Breakfast was great, continental, and full Welsh. We had dinner on two evenings and mains and puddings were lovely, didn't try the starters. Lamphey Bishops Palace ruins are at the end of the drive and well worth a walk, an unexpected bonus. The hotel is in a great location for exploring Pembrokeshire and I would definitely recommend it.

Stayed many times lovely setting nice spa but rooms could do with updating . The last time we stayed we were shocked when we opened the door to find the room not made up and in a mess . Went back to reception and was given another room . Nice room but one curtain hanging down from window not able to close curtains properly and on ground floor . Should of gone back to complain but didn't bother . Would of been nice to be offered a complimentary drink for the inconvenience . The cost of the rooms you think things would be checked over and suppose to be 4* .

Listed grand country hotel. Usual problems with ancient building but still very comfortable. Staff more than compensated for minor problems with plumbing and heating. Our room was clean and comfortable, but difficult to control temperature.

Superb break in western Wales at the Lamphey Court Hotel, for Christmas. Large family accommodation with kids separated in their own room. Package included Candlelit Christmas Eve dinner, Christmas dinner and Boxing Day supper as well as 'the full Welsh' breakfast. Were so impressed we stayed a couple of extra nights. Fantastic history in the hotel, former mansion of plantation owner ex Jamaica. Built from the millions made out of slavery, but that sadly applies to many of Britain's 'great' houses. Solid Honduran mahogany doors throughout, elegant staircase and photos of former master riding to hounds. Nice work if you can get it. Could have explored Pembrokeshire for weeks. Not only the spectacular Pembrokeshire coastal path with waves crashing and sending spray to the full height of the 300 ft cliffs, but Pembroke castle close by (a treat for the kids) and the unbelievable and breath -taking setting of St David's Cathedral further up the coast. 'Blow winds blow and crack your cheeks!' Experienced real weather of the Atlantic Coast and not the piffling drizzle and greyness of South East England. Staff a treasure and pleasure. Very friendly and helpful and food (especially the roast lamb) a treat. Spa added real value to the holiday with lovely warm pool and exercise gym + numerous 'machines'. Would wholeheartedly recommend and would return again in a flash. I give the Lamphey Court Hotel and Spa 5 stars. Thank you.

I am really sorry to say this was an horrible experience. The room was dirty, especially the toilet, hairs in the tub, dirty sink and walls. We weren't even able to make a coffe as the kettle was so dirty. Also the room was so cold as the heater was going off every few hours. We had to cancel the second night and our New Year's Eve dinner and go home. I couldn't keep my kids in that dirt. The lady in reception didn't seemed to be bothered about this. The only thing she did is take the payment and let us go, I personally had to ask for the manager's email. We paid Anyway for the second night as we just wanted to leave. And charging a 4 year old kid for bf is ridiculous. Very disappointed for a 4 star hotel. Never again

I booked a spa retreat package for me and my mum using a voucher. Leeza in the spa was superb, both me and mum had a hot stone massage which was divine! I had a facial and mum had a foot massage and scrub. Leez was very proffesional and friendly. We had also had access the pool area which include jaccuzo and sauna. We had afternoon tea which was also lovely. Definately reccomend and we will be booking again

Went for a teatime me time spa day. But there was no trace of our booking. Imogen and Leeza were very apologetic and sorted it out with no fuss. Both my friend and I had facial treatment and it was fab very relaxing. Heated bed during treatment which was lovely x Imogen and Leeza were both lovely will definitely be back x

My husband and I stayed here for 2 nights recently. The hotel is in a very picturesque location. On arrival we were made to feel welcome with a complimentary room upgrade! Our room was exquisite, pretty decor, fluffy towels and elemis toiletries. The hotel has excellent facilities including on site parking, well stocked bar and a lovely spa. We dined in the hotel restaurant on both evenings, the food was of excellent quality and served elegantly. All staff, without exception were welcoming and friendly. I would love to stay here again in the future and would recommend you do too, you won't be disappointed!

The inside experience does not live up to the promise of the outside which is such a shame. Needs a review of the menu and refreshing/updating of the decor and furniture to raise its game to that of a spa hotel and to compete with the local competition. Very sad.

My husband and I have been trying to sign up to be members for a month no one seems to be available…very frustrating! We get conflicting information whenever we call and when we come in person, no one seems to be on duty. We have tried twice to register and will try again but I am not confident that we'll be successful the third time.

Arrived friday eve about 8pm, nice easy booking in, lady on reception was lovely. We stayed in the coach house next to main building. Lady on reception gave us a bit of information we needed, spa times, breakfast and evening meal times. Room perfectly adequate for what we need. Lots of towels, toiletries and tea/coffee. No cooked breakfast due to lack of chefs in the area but continental breakfast was lovely. Typical continental, cheese,meats, salmon, breakfast cereal, yoghurt and much more. Staff serving breakfast were quick and ready to offer advice on local area. Used the spa twice, really nice clean spa with all facilities working, steam room/hot room and lots clean towels. Room was really nice, lovely shower, lots hot water. Easy to find and lots of parking. All in all well worth a visit.

We stayed for two nights and really enjoyed, great friendly staff, nice clean room with a very comfortable bed. It was explained to us that the breakfast was a continental because there was no chef available, there was a great choice and plenty of it. Will be returning.

This hotel has charm and character, the staff are welcoming and the indoor pool and gym very well equipped. The rooms are somewhat bigger than we expected and very clean. The restaurant was comfortable with a good choice of both food and wine menu. This was our second visit, it wont be our last.

Hotel itself looked stunning from the outside , but it was very very hit and miss not what we thought it would be atall Bar staff clearly were not really sure what they were doing £6.05 for a Guinness from a can!! The room was ok but not what we expected the shower was absolutely appalling. Breakfast again just ok continental no cooked breakfast which personally I enjoyed , but husband didn't so much . Coffeee was cold . Milk for cereal was warm. The spa was unwelcoming and facilities weren't great Ok enough stay but won't be going back .

We had two nights spa weekend for me and my family of girls. Friendly staff, excellent rooms and outstanding food. Would recommend it all. Loved the location. We took a train into Tenby for the day. The staff gave us the details of times etc.

The location is lovely, beautiful setting, and the spa treatment and pool is very nice. The food was very nice, both for dinner and breakfast. However, the service is pretty poor. In the restaurant, a server accidentally poured her drink over her, and although did apologize, didn't really clear up the table. And at checkout, my room was charged incorrectly, but was eventually fixed. But the worst was when my friends were accused of damaging a light when it hadn't been working when we arrived, and had pictures to prove it. For twenty minutes, Catherine, the operations manager, accused my friends of this damage, in front of other guests which was very embarrassing. My friends ended up being charged fifty pounds, only for the manager to call seven minutes later, while we were on the road, to cancel the charge. This couldn't have been done while we were there? Poor service, would not recommend the hotel, which is unfortunate as it is a lovely location.

Just had 3 days spa break at this hotel and it was fantastic. The food was outstanding with extremely generous portions. Rooms excellent, comfortable well equipped and cleaned daily and the spa was superb again cleaned regularly. All the staff were efficient and very friendly and welcoming. All in all we had a fantastic stay and would highly recommend a visit.

Arrived at reception an old trout told us we were in annex we asked if there was alternative accommodation in main building but told No . So off we went to find said room up flight of very slippery wet steps outside , fortunately for us the key fob did not work so off to reception again , by this time old trout had flown off, we explained to new receptionist that old legs and wet outdoor steps don't mix . She was most helpful and we were located in the main building . The bed linen was clean and the towels were fluffy however the carpet was very badly stained , this could have been sorted out if the area manager was doing his job properly by visiting the property and keeping a good housekeeper . Breakfast was non existent as the most unhelpful breakfast l staff ( who were obviously having a bad hair week ) told us “ There is no breakfast chef “ a group of waitresses who could not fry bacon and eggs ! The mind boggles ! . We asked for porridge only to be given the nearest thing to cement , and told “ we don't do this” no apology for what she offered up. Evening* meal was obviously prick and ting I asked for white rice with curry to be told “That's how it comes “. Apparently the soup had been the same flavour THREE nights on the trot..

Happy short holiday Loved the spa, nice very helpful staff, shame no cooked breakfast but the continental breakfast was lovely with lots of fresh choices. Will book to go again in 2022 its in a good location.

In desperate need of a complete refurbishment, new management and a deep clean. Low points included my child counting the number of dead bugs in our room (flies and spiders) and the inedible evening meal!

Surroundings beautiful, hotel elegant georgian, comfortable bedroom, excellent breakfasts and dinners, friendly and efficient service - what more could we want? Location ideal for visits to Tenby, the Stackpole Estate (National Trust) cliff walk to Barafundle Bay, and drive to Saundersfoot,and Pembroke Castle.

Lovely hotel extremely helpful and friendly staff, the rooms were clean. The bed was very small perhaps we were spoilt by staying previous night in another hotel where we had a very big bed. We ate in the hotel and the food was very good and we could highly recommend.

I booked this for my elderly aunt's for a little get away in the summer. I'm sorry to report that the place really needs a tidy up and they need to get someone in who can advise on disability aids and handrails - they have none. Towels in the room had holes in them, food was poor quality, menu was bleak, as for the G&T, my first one came without the gin and the second attempt with a bottle of tonic that was 18 months out of date - wouldn't recommend and certainly wouldn't go back.

Hotel understaffed. No lift which is not mentioned on website. No chef at Breakfast only continental breakfast available. Insufficient heating in Conservatory Restaurant when complained was told it was an old building. Bar closed early (no staff).

First and foremost the staff were excellent, on reception, in the breakfast room, in the restaurant, the cleaners and in the leisure centre, they were all extremely friendly and helpful. We were delighted with the excellent location of the hotel .The pool, sauna, steam room and jacuzzi area were spotlessly clean and an absolute delight. The food in the restaurant and at breakfast was most enjoyable. I understand the chef at breakfast had returned the day we arrived after being off with Covid and was able to provide a cooked breakfast. Unfortunately we understand he he was then off the day we left with Long Covid . We wish him or her a speedy recovery. The room that we stayed in was very good, particularly the bedroom, the bathroom however had a couple of issues which were reported to the management, I have been assured that they will be sorted and I was pleased with their response. The fact that we would stay at the hotel again should we return to the area shows that the few problems we encountered would not put us off. Make sure you have a walk round the Bishop's Palace next door to the hotel. It's fascinating and free to visit.

I booked via booking.com . I had confirmation from the hotel and from booking.com. When I turned up they said they had over booked and could not accommodate me. The lady behind the counter was rude and very unsympathetic. I had travelled 280 for business. I then had spend 3 hours driving around to get a hotel.

We have just returned from a two night break (Secret Escapes) at this glorious location. I, like many others I presume, read the reviews prior to travel & most of the negative responses are unjustified. Lamphey is in an amazing location & is a sight to behold approaching along the long, tree lined road/drive with amazing views that we were lucky - weather wise - to enjoy with a drink outside overlooking the beautiful countryside. Our check in was efficient with helpful information given by a very friendly, approachable member of staff. Excellent signage around re the current pandemic situation but I do think that many of our fellow guests missed them as there was a significant amount of non mask wearers although I suppose they may have been exempt??? On arrival we were informed of a problem with supplying a cooked breakfast menu which was a shame but is an issue I am sure the management are looking at pro-actively but, in all honesty the wonderful 'continental' type buffet breakfast supplied was fantastic - fresh, varied produce, excellent selections & plentiful - in addition we were refunded some monies due to this problem so it was not a problem at all. There were notices around indicating that due to staffing issues daily housekeeping in our room might not happen but this was not the case and, even if it had been, with such a short stay it would not have been problematic and I'm very sure that if there had been any housekeeping issues a conversation with any of the very helpful, friendly approachable staff would have resolved this. Our room was spacious & very clean with the hottest water I have ever had at a hotel. It was well equipped - TV, tea making facilities etc and even the provision of an iron & ironing board, The onsite spa facilities were excellent. We only ate at the hotel on on our first evening and although not amazing the food was tasty, well presented, excellent service and a very nice house red at a very good price. I cannot wait to revisit and am sure the ongoing building up of this venue will continue to fully warrant it's 4 stars. Thank you everyone at Lamphey for a wonderful few days.

Just spent a lovely few days here. Staff really friendly and knowledgeable, room good and very clean serviced every day, lovely peaceful surroundings and close to beach Coast path. Highlight is the pool. Fantastic modern 14 mtr pool with steam room sauna and jacuzzi all free to guests. Definitely worth a visit

Excellent frontage and grounds. Staff very helpful throughout our stay. Bedrooms need an extensive update and beds are extremely uncomfortable. Service for dinner requires to be better organised. Simple things like ensuring condiments and butter are on the tables prior to dinner being served

We stayed on two nights from 29th September, the poor reviews we saw beforehand were not justified. The room was first class, the pool and spa was excellent. The hotel was full, but we had two excellent evening meals in the dining room and the breakfasts were good. The hotel is short staffed it appeared but the staff were first class, and very attentive, and some were working double shifts and I made a point of telling the staff how hard they were working which was appreciated. The meals were at a full price but the quality was very good. A helicopter landed in the front garden on the second night, and was there when we left, it would have been a quicker journey home had it belonged to us! At the end of the drive is a free to enter historic site of the ruins on Lamphey Bishops Palace, well worth a visit. In our opinion the poor reviews given by former guests isn't justified, I'm sure future guests won't be dissatisfied.

Please, please do not be put off by these poor reviews, We had a super time at Lamphey and would certainly stay again. The staff and management are working so hard to maintain high standards and should be praised for all of their efforts. Whilst we were there cooked breakfast and making up rooms was back on. It is good value, thank you for a very enjoyable stay , we will be back !

My partner had his massage with Imogen and she was also in her words very good and relaxing Both girls were incredibly professional and tentative Will be back!! Book them! You won't regret it!

My husband and I had hot stone massage with Imogen on Sunday 25th September. I have had several before and this was by far the best ever. This was the first time for my husband and he thought it was fantastic.

we spent 2 nights, the hotel is down a long drive so lovely, the staff in the hotel and Spa were very helpful. The gym is bigger than most hotels. The downside is that we could not open our window!! this was ok till they turned the heating on and had to get reception to turn it off.

Before we went, we looked at reviews for this hotel, which very nearly put us off. We can say quite firmly that those reviews did not reflect in any way the quality of the service we received throughout our stay. We were very pleased and would stay there again. The staff were very pleasant and coped very well with the Covid restrictions. They made us feel welcome and could not do enough for our party of 10. Whoever wrote this reviews, we do not recognise it as the same hotel.

These reviews do not give the hotel the justice it deserves. From the moment we arrived to check out we couldn't of had a more lovely experience. We especially loved the aesthetic of the rooms and the decor, the food was exceptional and the service from the staff made us feel so welcomed. Everything we needed to know we were told by the reception staff and if we needed anything we were encouraged to ask. Will definitely be visiting again, do not make assumptions from the negative comments as you may miss out on one of Pembrokeshire's hidden gems.

So bad. Soooo bad. Don't get me wrong the service staff are having it hard and they were all very pleasant but this was up there with a 1960s bed sit. The room was so old fashioned, tired, smelly and with a bed that sinks in the middle leaving an imprint of a cross bar in your ribs. Breakfast was cancelled as no chef. Therefore the cold buffet with soggy croissants, fruit salad and lukewarm coffee. This place needs money spending on it. It is warm out, decrepit and stuck in a bygone era before tripadvisor could reveal its true identity.

I stayed at the hotel with my 2 children I felt that it was not family friendly at all. As an example; the swimming pool only allowed a very small window for children, we prebooked this to find the children's session full of adults and we couldn't enjoy the facilities freely. Overall found interacting with the staff very difficult and unhelpful.

Very disappointing stay at this hotel. No cooked breakfast, continental breakfast very poor, hygiene standards also very poor, rooms not cleaned in three days, no manager on duty to address these issues, dead flies on window sills, asked for peanuts in the bar but not available, our two meals in the restaurant were hurried and we felt we needed to be finished by 9.30pm - no coffee offered. Will not be returning and when emailed manager and Bespoke Hotels poor response by manager and no response from Bespoke. The waiting staff were very good and helpful. The hotel needs a complete overhaul, would only give one or two star at the most.

We decided to treat ourselves to a four day hotel break. we booked dinner bed and breakfast. This is the 4th hotel break we have been on since restrictions have eased and it was by far the most expensive. No problem with the room small but adequate but disappointed to find that it would not be serviced until at least the third day. The tea tray had 2 paper cups no glasses. However when I requested that I did not think it reasonable to put up with that for 4 days I was given 2 mugs and 2 glasses without a problem. Dinner was pleasantly served in the conservatory and was fine. When we went for breakfast we asked how could we order a cooked breakfast to be told hasnt anyone told you its only continental breakfast!!!! No they hadnt. The chef was poorly! It seems this had been going on for a few weeks. The continental breakfast was very average. The hotel it seems was very short staffed. The staff we met were very willing and able under very difficult circumstances. I do understand some of the problems but feel that for what we paid it was very poor. There was an allowance of £6 each because of the lack of cooked breakfast. In comparison to the other hotel breaks we have had I cant help but feel there are major problems here shielded by the excuse of 'COVID'

How on earth could some people on here write such negative comments about Lamphey Court?! The must be leading very negative lives! We arrived at Lamphey Court this afternoon to a very warm welcome, a super large, clean room, not to mention an excellent evening meal! All staff are so welcoming, polite and caring! I'm so glad that we were not influenced by the negative comments. We will definitely stay here again, as we can only speak highly of our experience here!

Hotel is in a lovely setting; great leisure facilities. Hotel is let down by poor service. Hotel is very dated and in need of a refresh. Hotel was overbooked and understaffed so we could not have an evening meal and had to use local pub. Cooked breakfast was replaced by continental, which was disappointing as we had paid for full cooked breakfast. Room was not cleaned as no staff again, not acceptable, if they have not got the staff they should not accept the bookings and they could have informed us before we arrived. Our room was dated and tired, such a shame as it could be a really nice place. would not go again

4* prices but not a 4* experience. No cooked breakfast, room not made up everyday due to staff shortages. Most spa treatments cancelled at short notice due to staff "feeling unwell". Cleanliness of dining room not up to par. Beautiful pool and hot tub.

I would not recommend this hotel to anyone until the place is refurbished and they employ a management team with hotel systems knowledge. It is shabby disappointing and currently is poor value for money.

This hotel is very imposing in a lovely parkland location but I reluctantly awarded it 3 stars. We had booked 6 months in advance for a 3 night stay in one of the courtyard rooms. The room was actually labelled a studio and had plenty of space. Our impression is that the room had probably been refurbished perhaps 25 or 30 years ago and was not particularly clean. The bathroom shower including it's Psycho style plastic curtains and pathetic shower head is not one what one expects in this standard of hotel. Although there was no word even on arrival it transpired that staffing issues meant the full breakfast was unavailable and our room would not be cleaned or serviced at all during our stay. The kitchen team presented an excellent evening meal but there seem to be many hospitality issues such as the bar running out of ice, tonic water crisps and nuts. Most of the staff we met appeared hard working and the only assumption one could make is that there was a distinct lack of leadership.

I have been writing reviews for over 15 years and have stayed at many hotels all over Europe for business and pleasure during that time. However for the first time I have to give a one star review. You only need to see my past reviews to see that I always give a fair review. Shame I only get 1500 characters to do this nowadays I will summarise: No cooked food all week. We had to eat out every dinner time and some breakfasts to break the monotony. Swimming pool was too cold for a 6 year old child to use due to a broken heat exchange. Spa was unprofessionally run and then closed during our stay. Reception staff were arrogant and rude. worse than any Doctors surgery I have ever been to. Tennis court is not fit for purpose. Covered in moss , weeds and cracks. Restaurant duty manager accused me of "copping off" with my sister-in-law and insinuated that my wife may need an alcoholic drink for breakfast. We booked this because it was supposedly a 4 star hotel with a pool. For the week we were there it was at best a 2 star hotel. Good job it is up for sale (Future residents beware!) as the new owners might take some responsibility for making it into the hotel it deserves to be and not providing a sub standard service and getting away with it. Shame there is no regulatory body to bring hotels like this to task when the do not provide the service that we pay for.

First of all a great location, very short driving to fantastic beaches and walks. A nice tranquil country setting overlooking fields for when you just want to sit and enjoy a drink outside. Good facilities including swimming pool, spa, gym etc. Wonderful staff who looked after us well.

Why is this a 4 start establishment? We had many difficulties in booking the room as they seemed very inefficient at the hotel. The room we stayed in was very dusty and dirty, even found dead flies in several places. At breakfast we had plates and cups which were also stained and unclean. They overcharged for several things including food we did not order. The shower was not working, just had a trickle of water. Apart from hygiene factors, there are also health and safety issues. My wife bruised her hand opening the main entrance door as there is a big ornate lock directly below the handle. The reception staff and management did not really care when we explained the issues. I even showed them the photos. Not even an apology was given. Instead, the management were very defensive and attempted to make us look bad for providing the feedback. Interestingly, there was a sign displayed in reception from the hotel manager, about a "zero tolerance policy" asking customers to behave in an appropriate manner with the staff ....or else...."they will be asked to leave the premises". I wonder why they needed such a sign? Our experience is that they are very arrogant and aggressive and just rub up the people the wrong way. Faulty Towers is 100 times better. This is quite ironic that they are protecting their staff rather than understanding that common courtesy should apply both ways and their staff should also behave appropriately with the guests which was not the case with us when we pointed out the issues we experienced. I have worked in the customer services industry for many years, and the only places I have seen such signs are in government offices (ie NHS, tax offices etc) and would not expect to see such a sign at a 4 star hotel. Sometimes things go wrong but it is how the businesses and their staff deal with these issues that matter. It seemed that this hotel management do not want any negative feedback nor do they care about their customers. I had put in the written complaint with all the complaint points with evidence and even that has been ignored!!

A last minute booking to stay over on the Bank Holiday but what a find. Impressive to look at, a warm welcome on Reception and a lovely, immaculate and well equipped family room. The staff could not have been more helpful. Next time we visit it will be for longer!

How this is a four star hotel blows my mind. We booked three studios, and could not believe the state of the rooms we were given. They looked NOTHING like those advertised online. They were incredibly dated, damp on walls and ceilings, the tiniest of beds with lumpy mattresses, broken fridges and draws in the most disgusting kitchen I've ever had the displeasure of seeing, sanitary products left from previous owners in the draws as they had not been cleaned properly, and a shower that barely trickled. We all felt unclean for the duration of the stay! As soon as we saw the rooms we returned to reception to dispute whether they had given us the wrong rooms as they were not as advertised. They apologised for the lack of consistency between the photos online and the reality of the studios, but we were told that they were fully booked and there was nothing they could do. We could not find any alternate accommodation otherwise we would have left in a heartbeat! To appease the situation, the operational manager told us she would reduce our nightly rate. The spa looked lovely, but we were told we could only use it during very specific times, as it was fully booked for kids swimming classes for large portions of our stay. However the pool was completely empty during these kid-swimming times when ever we looked. When we disputed this, we were told we could have used the pool sooner and we had been told the wrong information by one of the spa workers. When we finally did get in the spa, the heated pool wasn't heated as it was in need of repair! And the hot tub was luke warm at best. They could not honour our cooked breakfast that we had booked due to staff shortages, which was understandable. But the continental breakfast they provided instead was so basic. Small selection of cereals, questionable boiled eggs and meats, some toast/pastry and a terrible pot of coffee. The only good thing was the gentleman getting coffee/toast, he was by far the best staff member on site! But the worst part of the entire stay was an atrocious receptionist called Sharon. When we came to check out we told her what the operational manager had told us about discounting our rooms. She point blank refused to do this, stating she did not have authorisation to do so. When we asked if we could speak to someone who did have authorisation, she again refused and said there was no one of that rank currently in the hotel (how can a receptionist be the highest ranking member of staff in a 4-star hotel ?). She also refused to ring anyone who had the authorisation to do so, and said we could wait for the manager to come in but she would not tell us when so we could be waiting all day. She was incredibly rude and argumentative, and refused to wear her mask during this time, despite my father asking her to. She demanded she would take the full payment and we can ring to dispute this later. We made it very clear we did not want to do this, as we had been told the price would be reduced. She then stated she didn't need our permission as the cards were on file so she will be charging them regardless. This went on for some time and was incredibly unprofessional. A truly abysmal hotel experience.

This is a lovely hotel if a little dates. It was very clean and fresh. The staff are doing their very best despite the very difficult time due to covid. Lovely stay. The spa was lovely, clean with excellent facilities and totally relaxing. We had massages and can recommend Imogen and Jazz who left us feeling relaxed and happy. Food is also very tasty

I honestly don't know where to start, from an incredibly tired, filthy room to be unbelievably unprofessional, self righteous, aggressive staff. Having stayed in hotels around the world, I've never, ever had such an unpleasant experience. The dirt around the door frame alone was just awful, absolutely awful. But the attitude of the staff really takes the biscuit.

We had an absolutely delightful stay at the Lamphey Court. The grounds are beautiful, the spa is delightful and the service is stellar. Imogen at the spa was an absolute star and Lauren who was our dining server all week went above and beyond and was so friendly and amazing! I cannot say enough wonderful things about these ladies! We toured the ruins which are adjacent to the hotel grounds, Pembroke castle isn't far, there are many beaches and hiking trails a short drive away - it was a very relaxed environment and just a very enjoyable stay. Definitely recommend.

S lovely, handsome, comfortable hotel , that was a pleasure to stay in. Staff, especially a lovely waitress at breakfast, were helpful, friendly and polite. The room was clean, large, very pleasingly decorated and the bed extremely comfortable. Unfortunately I can not comment on the food really because kitchen staff had been pinged and had to isolate so we were restricted to a continental breakfast, which was just fine, and nothing else. A lovely stay and a pleasure to be at the hotel.

My mother in law treated myself and my sister in law with a spa afternoon during our recent stay. It was absolutely fantastic. We had a hot stone massage and facial by Caitlyn, who was professional and excellent. She consistently checked in with us and was very attentive. After the spa treatments we had time by the pool. It was a shame the steam room and showers were closed due to covid but this could not be helped so is understandable. The afternoon finished with a wonderful (and generous portion size!) afternoon tea. It was a fantastic day and I would really recommend.

Absolutely loved my spa experience at Lamphey court. Imogen was amazing, highly recommend her!! Disappointed we couldn't use the steam room due to Covid, but the great of the experience more than made up for it! Even the deck chairs outside over looking the scenery was lovely!

Could be great, lovely setting impressive looking building with a very nice indoor pool, gym facilities and spa rooms. I am sure that recruiting and training staff is difficult at the moment. Having said that the variety and quality of the dinner menu is poor. The service can be hit and miss - the team are pleasant but some obviously inexperienced. A pet hate is sachets of condiments - one evening they appeared to have run out of ketchup. Breakfast is the best meal. We stayed in a nice room which I think was part of a newer extension, room was a good size and clean. Very over fussy coffee machine and really restricted tv choice altho WiFi was ok. There is limited comfortable outdoor seating- shame when the weather is so good. Good location for exploring Pembrokeshire and whilst we will come back to the region we won't stay here again

We had a lovely weekend at Lamphey Hotel. The surrounding area is of outstanding natural beauty. The hotel is nice, facilities are good, breakfast has a good choice and the spa and pool are well maintained and very refreshing especially on one of the hottest weekends of the year. What stood out the most to us was the amazing, friendly, professional, helpful staff who were always happy to help with a smile. All staff we met from daily cleaning, restaurant, bar, spa and Reception were so lovely. This really contributed to a lovely stay and we will definitely return.

Booked it for the pool and spa, make sure you book treatments and meal times before, as I wasnt able to get a treatment - Did use the Swimming pool and sun loungers, peaceful and calm area... The Pet friendly studio was a big disappointment very dated and shabby is understatement, was told should come in 6 months it would have been renovated! The bed was small soft and rolled into the middle so I slept on the floor. The Staff though were OUTSTANDING, I suspect it was just this studio 230 that let it down as everyone else seemed happy enough. Great location and exceptional service, the Hotel and Spa team should be proud!

I'll start with the positives. The welcome we received after a nightmare 7.5 hour journey was wonderful. Special mention to Angela and Catherine on reception. Nothing was too much trouble. They are a credit to the hotel. Lamphey Court Hotel and Spa is set in beautiful Welsh countryside and tucked out of the way so no noise and a chance to get away from it all. This I'm afraid is where the positives end. The room we were put in on the first night was truly dreadful. A kitchen area that was tired and dated, a second room with two old chairs facing a small tv and a bedroom with the worst bed I think I've ever slept on. You could feel the springs on the mattress. The shower was useless. Just a dribble of water and the whole place smelled weird. Simply put, this room should not be used. We were moved into a different studio room for night 2. Much better but the bed still not great and the heating didn't work at all. By this point we just put up with it. The food was ok but overpriced I felt. It would have been a wretched Birthday weekend had it not been for the staff. They are the only reason it gets an average not a poor. This place has the makings of a wonderful hotel to go and stay but needs a little help.

Excellent food at this hotel, although may not be possible to have 3 course dinner within allotted allowance. Staff all extremely friendly, welcoming and helpful. Lovely well appointed indoor swimming pool. Liked having a breakfast room and conservatory for dinner. Traditional decoration throughout.

We stayed in a studio apartment for 6 nights, which was well appointed and very comfortable. We had booked a spa session every morning before having a very good breakfast. Only ate in the restaurant 1 evening but it was very good and the staff were very helpful throughout our stay.

We arrived later than planned but front desk welcoming and reassuring as I always expect myself to mess up travel arrangements. Gave easy directions to room and bar and booked us in for breakfast due to arriving late we had to take the 7:15am breakfast slot which overall worked out well. Room was spacious and clean bathroom the same. If I really had to complain there was a few cobwebs in the corner of the room but overall had a great sleep / stay in room. Shower was amazing and warm. Room was also very quiet didn't hear people coming or going to there rooms. Breakfast was fantastic I'm not a morning person but croissant made up for that and a fresh cup of tea. Nothing was to much ask for the people on breakfast. We had a quick drink before bed on the night we stayed the bar had all drinks and bar area was comfortable. Would definitely stay again as would like to use the swimming pool and explore the area more .

We were thoroughly looking forward to our stay at the Lamphey Court. We haven't had a holiday for over a year, my partner has health issues and staying in a spa hotel ina lovely part of the country, where we didn't have to worry about trying to find a restaurant to eat at seemed perfect. However, the reality was very different to the description both on their website and the site we booked though. The hotel is is a lovely setting, with views across fields to the village, but the interior is very tired and feels slightly grubby. The staff were pleasant, but clearly couldn't cope in the restaurants despite there being four staff for just seven tables booked. The rooms are tired. The paintwork on the windows is peeling, the corners in the bathroom could have done with a scrub. The decor is dull and needs an update. The food, both at breakfast and dinner left a lot to be desired. In fact one meal was inedible. The spa is really nice though and we had great massages from Jaz. Overall, we were very disappointed and cut our four night stay short, leaving after the second night.

The staff were lovely, from the dinning room, breakfast room, bar staff,reception and cleaning staff. Couldn't fault them. The breakfast was first rate The hotel is not luxury Using the spa you need to pre book and if possible book before you arrive Best Western need to pump some money into updating and maintenance of the building to reflect the good work of the staff.

Staff are wonderful ... Lovely all round hotel, staff are brill, food is excellent I suppose the only thing I could say negatively is the rooms are looking tired, but hey they are spotless none the same.

It was our first family trip to South Wales . We were there to celebrate my birthday , so I wanted it be more relaxing and calm . The hotel and stay didnt disppoint us . We stayed their for two nights . It was really comfortable. The rooms were very spacious and clean . Beds were really comfy. All were neat tidy . I have done the Body massaging and Facial at the SPA . I would like to thank Imogen Peters for her wonderful SPA service . I have enjoyed it really . The pool was really nice for all the splash kids deseved over a holiday .

Considering the difficulties Hotels have had with Covid-19 I visited for 2 days just after lockdown, the hotel was immaculate, food great and lovely happy staff. The setting is stunning, so peaceful and relaxing. Rooms very clean and spacious as well as really comfortable beds.

We stayed 4 nights here & generally it was very good. The hotel looks very imposing & is at the end of a long drive. It has tennis courts, spa & pool but can't comment as didn't use them. There is a small bar, lounge, conservatory restaurant where dinner was served & the main restaurant where breakfast was served. We had a standard room at front of hotel which was fine for us although a bit dark. The good thing was that it had 2 chairs & small table. There were 2 bottles of water & biscuits which were replaced every day. The toiletries were also replaced which was good. Bed was very comfortable & shower had an adequate pressure. We had dinner(booked in advance) on the first night. The food was good but the staff were very disorganised. They didn't seem to be sure who had ordered & who was still waiting for courses. And 2 different fuels asked about drinks when we had already ordered. Breakfast was more organised & Wayne was the star of the restaurant. He was friendly & helpful without being intrusive. The quality of breakfast differed on different mornings so maybe change of chef? Also the day Wayne was off, the service suffered. We waited 45 mins for our cooked breakfast! All in all a good stay, nice to be able to sit outside when the sun shone! My only complaint would be that when we arrived & wanted to book dinner for the remaining 3 nights of our stay, we were told we couldn't because restaurant was full! I don't think we've ever stayed in a hotel & but been able to eat there. Apparently it was for DB&B guests. Luckily I had booked ahead for the first night but then had to phone around to find places to eat! I think guests should be advised of this in advance so arrangements can be made before arriving.

hotel looks beautiful however that's were it stops. I'm a wheelchair user and there is no access to get in to the hotel from the front, or the bar,restaurant or library. Needs bringing into 21st century for disabled guest

From the moment we turned up. We were told that our room should be sorted. We turned up at 4:30pm and were still waiting. We ended up having to go and try and find food as they didn't have a table for us. Our boy was with us for his 1st birthday. When we finally could unpack, a lady left the door to shut over on my wife as we were bringing him in and all our things. When we got in the room there was yellow stains on the duvet cover! The lamp shade was wonky with stains on also. This was supposed to be a 4 star!!! I'm sorry but I've stayed in better caravans and hotels in skewness that were only 2 star and cleaner. There was dirt and dust all over the skirting and doors! In the bathroom there were little spiders everywhere. The bath was stained and the tap indicaters were falling off. I can't believe we couldn't be sorted for a table for eating when we drove 4 hours from Nottingham. All we wanted to do after the drive was relax. But we had to drive into town for food. We ended up having snacks from the co op!! The next night we managed to book in at a nearby pub for food as again they were fully booked! That evening we were kept awake by 2 barking dogs in the room below us. So we had to put up with staying awake with our baby crying! He is so much better at home and we have 3 huskies that are so well behaved and go to sleep. We were assured at the front desk they had checked out!! I didn't want to cause a fuss as we were away to RELAX!!! Later on the following day we went into Tenby and had a lovely day and again went out for a meal as we still couldn't book in at the hotel for the time we needed to eat! To pay over £300 just to sleep in a dirty room with barking dogs below was an insult. I can't work anymore as I have mailignent brain cancer! We just needed some peace and quiet. As we returned from the meal...the people who had the dogs; surprise surprise were still there! So I took our baby with the wife to the room. Then I went and knocked nicely on the door below us about the dogs. 2 lads answered and started giving me abuse... Swearing and giving me abuse. The dogs were running out into the doorway and barking as per. So immediately I went to reception. I waited as there was a new couple checking in. I didn't want to cause a fuss for them..so waited till they had gone. I told reception what had just happened and she escorted me to the room. Along the way, I saw a lovely couple we had met. Baring in mind they were staying in the lower bit below where the dogs were. I said have you had problems with the dogs barking and lack of sleep. They immediately said YES!!! So we carried on to the dog room and they answered. She was telling them that it wasn't just me complaining!! But they kept protesting their innocence! I had to go outside as again with my cancer it was making me feel sick. Nothing was said to me apart from "just leave it now, any issues just ring!" Wow thanks! No offer off a refunded amount or anything!! The next day we went to breakfast. The table next to us were a lovely couple we met the morning before. They had a boy. It turned out that they were in the room next door! We didn't have to mention the noise and they were telling us about the fact they couldn't sleep whatsoever!! So that was 3 rooms out of the 4 in that area that were having problems. Not just us. Also see attached pics of spiders, dirty doors and fly filled lights in the doorways. I won't be leaving this here. I expect some kind of refund!!!

I got a massage here from Imogen. She explained what she was going to do as this was my first time getting a professional massage. She was very polite and friendly. The facility was very nice and the ambiance was soothing to the eye and ear. I would definitely recommend The Lamphey court hotel & spa to anyone wanting to get a therapeutic massage and in a relaxing environment.

I Had a really great spa experience for my 23rd birthday at the Best western Lamphey Court hotel and Spa. I had a full body massage, a facial and luxury pedicure. Imogen, my spa specialist on the day was very helpful and welcoming. She provided good care and even gave me suggestions on what I could use for my skin following facial and based on the initial consultation which I found very useful and will be looking into the products. Great experience and I would definitely do it again soon.

Lovely clean spa with a Nice size pool and sauna room. The staff were very welcoming and helpful. The relaxation music can be heard throughout the area. I received a fantastic facial treatment from Imogen

Hotel had only recently reopened after the latest lockdown and the staff were valiantly trying to cope with the high demand within the COVID restrictions. Room was OK and everything worked, Good, friendly service in the restaurant - good portions of comfort food is probably best way to describe it. Only (minor) problems was if we asked for anything that was slightly off-piste; but staff genuinely tried to help.

Book spa treatments long before arrival or you won't get an appointment. Take ear plugs as the walls are not as think as I hoped. Asked for time to read the menu alone. But it clean and friendly staff

Wonderful location, lovely view and loads of good walking in the area, we used the small train that stops In Lamphey to get around. Lovely large bath in bathroom. Very comfy beds, and great room. Lovely clean spa, had a wonderful massage. Very enjoyable stay.

Booked a day day for myself and 2 friends one treatment and Sunday lunch .. missed not having a sauna but other than that a very relaxed time we all had a treatment I had a facial which was grind by Imogen, she made me feel very relaxed and the facial was amazing I would highly recommend. lunch was delicious. All in all a lovely day Thank you and special thanks to Imogen for looking after us x

Stayed here recently for a funeral as we were stuck for accommodation due to Covid. Hotel is rated as 4 star which I'm guessing is due to the facilities which weren't open at the time. The room was a superior and was awful. It looked like it hadn't been maintained or upgraded in many years. It was dated, dark and dirty. The ceilings had cracks and damp. Rogue hairs around the sink and shower. Tiles cracked. Grout and sealant black and dirty. Skirting boards filthy. Cheap and lumpy pillows and bedding. And worst of all, no soundproofing between floors so we didn't get any sleep whatsoever due to the guests above walking about through the night and early morning and floorboards creaking loudly above our heads. On our way out, I briefly reported the above to the receptionist who was disinterested and pointed me to the manager who was chatting to someone in the public reception area, unmasked!

You can get a lot better for less. We booked for one night with our dog. Room was small and some of the fittings like the toilet (which rocked) needed to be repaired. Door had been previously damaged and was still split on the inside. Breakfast was small and very average. I would consider this hotel good value and would not consider returning.

This is a real find and we always enjoy our stay at Lamphey Court. The building, its spa facilities and rooms are first class. Thank you we will be back later this year and have already booked our stay as demand is high!

Walking the Coast Path so it was fab to collapse in this luxurious room at the end of the day....and there was a lovely roomy bath! A rarity nowadays.Just one thing...the Dolce Gusto coffee machine was a great touch but if you're not tech like me a set of appear instructions would have been good!!

Stayed there last three weeks with work, very disappointed, was supposed to be there another 12 weeks but asked company to be moved to another hotel, no wi fi in outer studio apartments, when I complained was to to persevere with it, majority of staff need some lessons in manners, only one or two actually friendly and helpful, I'd be very disappointed if I was actually paying, cost was 150 per night, and had a job getting some little coffee sachets out of them, my advice go elsewhere

On checking in an arriving in the room the room was freezing maybe suggest warming the room. Tv not working no signal on any channels called reception and they are are there is a problem but cannot be fixed today. Internet so slow cannot watch anything on line. Fan in bathroom sounds like a jumbo jet signs of damp in the room see photos. Nice chandelier such a same there is bits missing, and not sure what the plastic on the floor is for.

Excellent anti- Covid measures in place - felt very safe.. Very nice room with views of the fields at the front of the hotel - food very good - staff very welcoming, friendly and helpful. Hotel is a great base for exploring the Pembroke coast.

I've stayed at this hotel for work twice in the last month. The staff team here are excellent and went above and beyond to ensure that my stay was comfortable. Plenty onsite parking and gorgeous views. would stay here again.

Me and my wife had the misfortune of booking afternoon tea here yesterday 7th December. From the moment we walked in to the moment we left we felt like we were intruding on the staff. It took at least 5 mins for the lady on the front desk to acknowledge us and even then she only did so after I spoke to her first. At that time there were FOUR staff members being the front desk!!! The waitress showed us to a table and brushed all the crumbs off the table with her bare hands onto the floor ( very professional!!! ) The afternoon tea was shockingly poor in quality and substance. We were both desperate for a second coffee each but never saw another member of staff the entire time. On leaving I made my feelings known to the duty manager and the front of house lady. The duty manager said she was too busy in the spa to have done anything and the lady on front of house said it was change over shift time. ( so why book people in???). I was shocked by how poor the staff and the service was considering how quiet things were at the hotel. Having been to hotels all over the World the levels here were shockingly poor from start to finish. Maybe their “sales prevention officers” are in the wrong trade!!!

This could be so much better. Gorgeous setting fabulous building,comfy rooms. Attention to detail very much missing. Terrible shower, just a dribble , and only just warm.Very limited choice of red wine due to stock control likewise with Gordon's gin.... the motto seems to be quantity over quality on the food front, what a shame. All these things so easily fixed. This lovely hotel is in need of better management.

Excellent staff food and service, A beautiful hotel, well maintained with 1st class facilities.Stayed in the west wing, superb room. Quiet and comfortable. Would highly recommend to any thinking of visiting West wales.

What a shambles of a weekend. My partner booked us a night away as a treat. Weren't told that check in was at 3pm and we got there by 12.45pm as we had treatments booked in. Treatments cancelled. We then drove around for 3 hours to find somewhere to eat food as we had been travelling since 10am. On booking into the hotel we were told that the restaurant was fully booked for evening meals, even after I had rang reception in the afternoon to check they were doing meals, I wasn't told to book in at a that time. We were advised that 2 places up the road were available to eat at only to find one was closed and the other fully booked. In the end, my partner drove us to Aldi and ended up buying a little platter of food for us to eat in the room- what a lovely night away! Not! I had a shower in the morning and the water was cold! Breakfast was at 10am, service was very slow. We are given coffee and waited a while for our order to be taken, we had eaten our cooked breakfast and left before the toast was brought to our table. Very disappointed and will not be returning again!

This hotel is a little gem we wish we had found it many years ago we enjoyed so much. Excellent staff who know how to look after guests. Food was of a good standard and the room was just perfect and very comfortable. Looking forward to visiting again in the next few months.

I'm very angry about this complete waste of hard earned money because my daughter gifted us this Spa Seekers gift £520 last Christmas and we decided due to COVID to spend our relaxing break in Wales and bring our dog along. I rarely give poor reviews and usually find the best aspects wherever we stay ( please see my reviews). I don't want to see any property or business struggle at this time , but.. WAKE UP to yourselves.... The room 228 (avoid) was very clean and this is possibly the only positive thing I have to say about this whole shoddy stay. The abrupt lady on reception declined check ins before 3pm . I understand this policy completely but surely 12 guests all congregating at precisely 3pm was plain COVID stupid as a nurse it grated being placed at risk like this. Please can you check folk in and ask them to access their rooms at 3pm. This hotel also loses heaps of money with such silliness and lack of skills by guiding folk to afternoon tea or bar and beverages. As we stood watching as 3pm approached it turned out to appear to be laziness waiting for the next shift to check everyone in. Shame on you silly receptionist. There were 3 hairdryers?,?, trouser press, kitchenette. The bed is hard and a very small double with just enough space to get around it. Furniture nasty shiny dark flat pack repro wood. Shower bathroom all good. The grounds attractive next to a ancient ruin of a bishops Manor House. The conservatory was unuasable with water collected in buckets from leaking roof. I liked the room for our doggy stay , plenty of space and hanging space for wet stuff and a hoze close by to wash off a muddy pouch. it was unfortunate that staff gathered to smoke on the steps below us and the kitchen fat smells wafted upwards as we realised throughout the day. The grease fumes make the handrail sticky and it is slippery underfoot.. Yuk. But hey ho shut the door no smell in the room. We rearranged the layout to be able to see the tv from the sofa/sofabed. But this sofa sloped forward and moved forward so you had to keep repositioning the cushions so not very comfortable at all but a minor compared to the water noise issues. What we didn't bargain for was the water feature in our room,... a constant running water and boiler sound. I rang down to change rooms and was told it was the tanks filling and it would stop. Well it didn't stop and I'm not talking a slight noise I'm talking a major boiler water running sound. I complained at 7pm and the receptionist claimed that this wasn't something usually experienced and called out the handyman Dave. Well if you look back this problem is well documented in reviews. You just stuck us here , caring little for your guest experience. How very dare you. The water was turned off which meant no cold water , no toilet flushing. We were offered to change rooms when I complained for a 3 rd time, mid day the following day ...realy on a two night spa break. Night two the geezer continued and we slept intermittently having to open the cold water faucet to ease the sound. I heard guests in room 1 complaining about lack of hot water. Guys you have a plumbing problem and seem to be in denial somewhere along the way. Our spas massage experience, The masseuse..doesn't introduce herself, no slipper no robes no greetings and no enjoyable spa experience. No ability to coincide swims with spa timings. It's just poorly thought through irrespective of COVID. Completely poor massage, no worse useless. Dining room menu was ok, food mediocre, service was very weak. Goodness knows who advised on COVID measures but it's all rather clueless .e.g. Perspex Barrier at entrance to dining room but none where each guest walks past seated diners. Nothing set up on tables , not enough ice buckets for 3 requests. We got a Corona beer bucket which caused a smile. The pool area is very pleasant. Outside the chairs were strewn about by the wind. You Lazy lot pick them up and arrange them. Query about the Bill ..dog friendly room charges, I was met with we will deduct because of your noisy room. Refund because of our poor experience but please don't combine the two very different issues. Had you chosen to acknowledge our poor experience for what it was then I may be less furious about this shoddy hotel stay. Save your money stay at OYO , and go for a massage elsewhere . OYO offer a much better restaurant and front of venue experience, training of staff and despite being a budget brand compared too the international brand of Best Western. I will be writing to Spa Seekers about your poor spa offer ...shape up this is 2020 as nine of us are ever going to forget. Needless to say I will never be back.

Dreadful place. Receptionist abrupt bordering on rude. Circa 50 dead & dying flies in room - to be told only a few - had to insist on them being cleaned. Room stunk of fly spray. Dining room grim, food okish so ate out 2nd night. Worst hotel have ever stayed in. Waste of money. Hotel very tired & jaded. Conservatory in complete state of disrepair...oh & staff shut the bar at 9.45 without checking if we wanted more drinks - contrary to Welsh Gov't policy re the 10pm curfew & 20 mins or so drinking up.

We had a three night break via OffPeakLuxury.com which included B&B, £25 pp per evening towards dinner, a bottle of Presecco on arrival and two treatments in the Spa. All these were delivered as promised and smoothly - the staff even rang us in the car on the way down when we were running a little late to check that we were arriving in time for dinner! The staff were all excellent and friendly and seemed happy amongst themselves. Room was spacious and spotless and the Covid precautions were fair and taken seriously - some other comments from other customers seem a bit unfair and OTT - the staff are only doing their best. The meal service at Bfast and Dinner was great, if not a little quirky at times in the order in which things arrived (toast first, last, jam missing etc) but this was a minor issue for us (I can see how more fussy customers may deem this to be poor - we enjoyed it!) We did have an issue on the second night with a loud TV in the room above us - this was quickly sorted by the night staff. The building externally is in need of attention but this is probably more due to Best Western than any local issues. All in all, a lovely break in a fantastic location with lovely staff and excellent value! Thanks !!

We enjoyed a nice family stay and could not fault the hotel and 5* spa and gym facilities. The location is very nice and peaceful. The nearby village is a nice walk and freshwater east beach is a 5 min drive. Will stay again on our next visit without hesitation.

This is a fantastic building, In a wonderful quiet village location but is getting a little tired internally in places. Staff were excellent, particularly the young lad who had only been there a couple of weeks. He was friendly and a good laugh. Like most hotels this place is operating under the "new normal" I stay in lots of hotels and this is the most over the top I have seen in recent weeks. The dining room has been moved to the most unappealing all grey room with no windows, or dressing up of any sort. You'll need to book breakfast and evening meal times before arrival to get a slot. The conservatory was closed and apparently has been for months. Mugs and drinking glasses removed from the rooms and replaced with paper cups, although they are quite happy to serve drinks in glasses and cups downstairs. Ended up buying a mug from Sainsbury's. Ridiculous one way system in place meaning a trip to the toilet from the bar required a walk all around the outside of the hotel in the rain to get back in if you stuck to the rules. Most strange of all was the bannister on the sweeping staircase was covered in a blue foam covering making it impossible to clean. Breakfast and evening meals were excellent with good service from the staff. The bedroom was fine with good views and the bed was comfortable. A problem with the plumbing was quickly dealt with. It was excellent value for money. I'd stay again, but not until the COVID crisis is over

Poor service , not clean , they kept running out of everything. I would strongly reccomend you don't stay here. The outside and the approach to the hotel is lovely but reality is far from that. The rooms are not that clean and there is soulless atmosphere created by the staff .

Staff: absolutely lovey (we were not expecting that as there is an aggressive sign about not abusing staff at check-in which gave us a bad and false first impression). Location: perfect. The village is lovely and its in the middle of the peninsula so driving everywhere is easy. Freshwater East beach is less than 10 mins drive and stunning. Room: main hotel rooms are old-fashioned, studios are very cheaply furnished, but all are spotlessly clean. Hotel: no real areas to relax apart from a the bar which had no atmosphere (and no draft beer). We didn't use the pool / spa. Set in its own grounds with a ruin nearby. They promote themselves as pet friendly but it isn't really - pets allowed only in the studio rooms and nowhere else. Breakfast: great choice and nicely cooked but they use really cheap products. The eggs were inedible. Overall I would recommend it due to the lovely staff and location.

We were sent to an outside building (228). It has not been cleaned for a while, dust, animal and human hair everywhere. Dead spiders hanging from the bathroom door and lamp shade. Plenty of live ones hanging around too and think cobwebs as well. Smear of dead bugs' blood on walls and lamp shade, doghair all over the rug which hasn't been hoovered for a long time. Bedding wasn't washed before we arrived either. The place looks like an old and run down air bnb, where someone's thrown out furniture from the 70's were put. You even have a kitchen and living room?!?!?! Not exactly a 4* experience. We refused to stay and no money was taken from my account. We were offered a stay some other time but after all this it is obvious that we are not going to go back there ever again. We actually left the same afternoon even though we had a 3-hour drive ahead. That's right, we drove 3 hours to a place only to turn back and do the long journey again because it was soooo disgusting. I have never experienced anything like this. When you book a room for £120/night, you don't expect to be sent to a studio apartment outside the hotel where people with dogs go after a long walk in their muddy wellies. Also, there was a big air vent behind a locked door on the side of our bedroom. I have lots of photos but this place doesn't allow me to attach them.

From the booking to arrival and through to departure, we had a fabulous experience. The staff make the hotel. Due to atrocious weather we went straight to the hotel and offered a cup of tea. Great welcome. We had two nights. Rooms spacious and very clean. Breakfast and evening meal excellent. Worthwhile visiting the Cadw Lamphey Palace next door for a. 30 minute stroll through history. Hotel just 10 mins from Tenby. Quality service.

We stayed at the hotel for 3 nights and had a wonderful time. From the moment we arrived the staff made our stay extra special. Our room was lovely and spotlessly clean, and the view from the bedroom window was of the countryside. Our breakfasts were very tasty and a really good choice. Our evening meals were amazing, the food was of a very high standard and presented beautifully. This tells me that the chef takes a lot of pride in his food. All of the staff were so helpful and kind, but a special mention to Katherine, The Operations Manager for her kindness throughout our stay. Also, to Nadia who served our food, she told us some places to visit that we did not know about, this made our holiday extra special. Lastly, a special mention to Karen the receptionist, so helpful, and lovely to talk too. We had such a lovely time at this hotel that we will be returning next year, but this time I will be bringing my dogs too.

We had a lovely weekend staying at this hotel. The room was spotlessly clean and comfortable. The staff were all very pleasant and nothing was to much trouble especially during this difficult time with covid. The hotel have adhered to all self distancing and sanitising regulations quite well and easy to follow around the hotel. The food was quite nice really enjoyed our evening meal and the breakfast was lovely as well especially with the very chatty friendly duty manager named David. My only advice to guests is book your spa facilities first as we were unlucky we didn't so when we requested to use the pool it was all fully booked so a bit disappointed but again this is a difficult one due to restrictions due to Covid. We would visit the hotel again as we enjoyed our stay very much.

We (family with 2 young children) stayed at The Lamphey for two nights and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We had two rooms and both were very clean and tastefully decorated. The staff there were very attentive and welcoming. We ate in the restaurant one evening and found the food to be tasty. The breakfast was great too as even though we were not able to access a buffet breakfast, we were served the buffet to our table and could eat whatever we wanted. We went to the spa and had a swim, we really liked the view from the spa of the fields and sheep. The location is fabulous with Stackpole nearby and an amazing palace ruin just outside the gates of the hotel. We felt very safe as the hotel are taking the necessary precautions with regards to covid 19. I would recommend this hotel.

First room hadn't been cleaned (are we in a Covd '19 pandemic?). Manager initially refused my request to sanitise the second room. She told me that she would refund my money and we should go elsewhere! Paid £140 per night for a room that had no bedside lights, a broken front door, cracked sink, wobbly, wrong-size toilet seat and layers of dust on the skirting boards. No pool/spa facilities and no restaurant. Dog tolerant but not dog friendly, eg, we were not allowed to eat in an outdoor, open-sided marquee with our dogs and there was nowhere else to go. NOT a 4 star experience. With so few facilities and in Covid '19 pandemic, focus should be on keeping rooms clean and on looking after guests. Manager was not helpful and the issues I raised are not resolved.

We stayed at the Best Western Lamphey Court Hotel & Spa for one night, building very rundown, food very average, would not recommend this hotel, rooms smelled musty, bathroom badly in need of upgrading, the only good part of the visit was the Staff who were very accommodating and friendly.

I am very surprised to read the recent reviews left by some. Given the current circumstances, I think the staff did their very best to make our stay as enjoyable as possible. We felt safe at all times during our stay re COVID. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The evening meals were plentiful and of very good quality. We loved being able to use the indoor pool and even though we had to book it was great because the pool was not busy and you could have a nice leisurely swim.

Well I thought I would treat my my mum to a breakfast at Lamphey court for her 83rd birthday. I emailed them to confirm booking had a confirmation to confirm. Due to covid everything has to be booked. On arrival at reception I was told were to go. Terrible disgusting so rude need to get their act together especially the receptionist who said you can't just come in here. Excuse me you let me in. We walked out such a poor hotel and customer service no one knows what the other staff are doing basically no breakfast we weren't booked in and apparently they are doing breakfasts for no guests even though Kim email said they are lol

Disappointed – I went by the photos and selected a superior room, but the reality was a dull and low grade hotel with awful management (some staff were good but others were just rude and inflexible). I wish I'd read some of the Trip Advisor reports - they are accurate. What could be a lovely hotel is just a poor 2 star experience. Such a shame. Even the Spa was well photographed but in reality had no luxury atmosphere at all - just an empty shell added into the grounds.

Disappointedly lazy staff, with the exception of two people. The lack of finishing in our room made us scared of COVID cleaning. Staff completely useless and unfriendly. In urgent need of a manager!!!! Restaurant to be avoided at any price!

On arrival our first impression externally was WOW. Internally the Decor was very tired with the postive exception was the lovely lady who greated us on our arrival, a very pleasant lady and more than happy to help. Our room was fine and comfortable however for a 4* i would not expect paper cups for my morning coffee. Evening meal. Felt like we were eating in a cafe, service was poor, lacking attention to detail greatly. The setting deserves better. Starters were very tasty. Breakfast. We had initially booked in for 9:45 however we were ready ahead of time and called to see if they could possibly bring our booking earlier, only to be told abruptly that this was not possible, So we decided to go for a walk to pass the time, on our way down we met one of the waitresses and she asked if we were eating and we told her that we had called down and was told it was not possible, she said there was room and that it would suit her more if we ate now. So lack of communication was most definitely an issuse. Again service was slow No milk,suger,salt,pepper and on request for a glass of orange juice after being told we couldnt have the soft drink we had requested because the bar was closed, We were brought a childrens carton with a straw. By the assistant manager. After after few minutes of pure astonishment at this we asked if we could have a glass for the waitress to reply "of course your not a five year old are you" Very poor choice of refreshments. The dado rails in ruby room where we were sat were filthy. Complete lack of atmosphere inside the hotel and from speaking with other residents there was a feeling across the board of disappointment. Breakfast no2. Service was a little better but still had to request milk,suger,salt and pepper. Food was poor and agian no Welcoming feeling this morning. On a passing note if it was not for the warm helpful welcoming from the lovely lady on reception Friday evening on arrival. The trip would have been a right off. She deserves a pay rise along with the photographer who has somehow managed to capture the hotels greates assits. And inadvertently created a honey trap. If this venue was rated at a 2 or 3* hotel then i would not be as tempted to right this review. This is completely over priced. You are all forewarned.

The hotel staff were welcoming and friendly the hotel decor was a little tired and dated but exceptionally clean, the rooms we stayed were also clean but again a bit tired needs freshening up. The spa facilities were unfortunately not available due to covid. The breakfast was excellent and the staff again very helpful warm and welcoming and nothing to much trouble and eating breakfast outside Alfresco was made a pleasant experience but if weather not good may be an issue as there were no heaters. Overall a pleasant stay in a nice hotel

Very carefully taken pictures to fool your eyes, sometimes you believe to get the services for the money you pay, in reality this is not true. In simple way to say pay premium price you get a roof to sleep at night. There is no wow factor here please don't waste your money.

Initially things seemed okay. The room was tired, very dated and below expectation, however the beds were comfy and we all slept well. There were some understandable changes in place due to COVID and they were all fine and well organised. There was no spa, pool or tennis facilties and we were fine with that. The issues started on the second night, we all went to shower and there was no pressure. It was absolutely inadequate for purpose. We complained and were told that someone would look into it. After a couple of days a plumber came and said that due to the shower being gravity fed from 1 metre above it would never be able to give any pressure. We were told that the duty manager would be consulted to look at reducing our rate and that another room might be available to shower in. We were told they would be in touch with a resolution. This never happened, we just had our bill put under the door on the last morning with a 10% discount applied. We had to request tea and coffee supplies which didn't come until the 2nd request and were woefully inadequate. In the end we decided to go to Tesco and get our own supplies, as few times we called reception and got no reply. I'm sure this was down to lack of capacity but just a little frustrating when you are told to avoid going to reception and that it is best to call instead. We ran out of toilet paper so I facebook messaged the hotel and got a rapid response and delivery. It might be worth having guests put a card outside their door daily requesting anything they need which could be left outside the room in a bag. We started getting supplies proactively delivered on the last two days of our visit. All the staff were friendly and happy to listen and empathise but the lack of proactive follow up from a senior manager was disappointing. The alternative shower option never materialised either. The breakfasts were fine, continental delivered to the room daily with the option on cooked to your room or in an outside marquee. The staff in the marquee were great and friendly and delivered great service in challenging times. Overall we were disappointed with the shower and lack of resolution to this. We would have preferred a different room rather than money off. When you have been in isolation for so long and you just want to go somewhere with decent facilities and you get less than you have at home it's upsetting and depressing. We would only return if the bathroom facilities were fixed.

Biotec facial - Had the biotec facial with jasmine, it was amazing! It's left my skin feeling fresh and rejuvenated! Jas was great at explaining all process of the treatment! And to top it off I had HD brows too, best place to come for treatments in pembs 100%

this hotel is superb we have been there a few times now and will continue to go there the staff at breakfast and dinner are super and the reception staff is one of the best i have seen so fare i can recommend this hotel to everyone the rooms are very good well the studios for us because we have a dog and i have to say that the spa staff are very good and the hair dresser is excellent mi wife likes it very much the surrounding areas are very beautiful and very peaceful will go back there soon

We decided to go here for food when passing. There was lots of choice to choose from and the food was perfect. We had Lori as our waitress and she was amazing couldn't do enough for you. Making sure our dietary requirements were catered for. Will definitely be back again. Thank you Lori you really made our lunch more enjoyable.

I visited Lamphey court hotel on Valentine's Day with my partner, and once again everything was fantastic! My server Lori was great, and the night was complete when Claire the manager brought complementary chocolates! Will most definitely be visiting again.

Stayed at the hotel and it was the second time visited. Worth the stay. Spa and gym facilities are good. Room as spacious and as expected. Worth the visit. Restaurant is available and food is really good.

Have just returned from a very enjoyable three night stay at Lamphey Court Hotel and Spa which is a great base for visiting the beautiful coastline and countryside of Pembrokeshire. We were very well looked after by friendly and helpful staff - in particular Claire (at breakfast), Sharon (at reception) and Rob (at the bar). Will definitely be returning.

My wife and myself thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the hotel. Our room and the hotel were very clean, the staff were friendly, the spa was lovely and the food was tasty. The only criticism I have is that the menu should have had some vegan options. I'm very grateful that they were able to rustle something up for me but it would have been better if I'd had a clear choice as then I wouldn't have felt like a pain in the neck. Many places cater for vegans these days and so should the Lamphey Court Hotel. For this reason I can only give it four stars this time but I will visit again and if, at that time, they've added some vegan choices to the menu, all else being well, they'll have five stars.

Had lunch here with my partner. Had a great lunch Chicken and bacon linguine and Jacket potatoes with tuna. Service was great from our server Lowri very friendly and helpful. A beautiful location wide selection on the menu. I cannot wait to come back.

Came in for lunch with my family in February, food was far better than the last time I visited. Waitress Lori was very knowledgable about her job and helpful. Will be back for food and service again soon

We stayed in the main building. All very clean and comfortable. Bedroom spacious and well equipped. Excellent dinner menu and good selection at breakfast, including cooked to order. Wine list well priced and the merlot sampled was smooth and delicious. All of the staff were friendly and efficient, making us feel welcome. We did not use the spa but it looked well equipped on e Inspection. Highly recommended - we will stay again!

Only downfalls were an extremely cold bedroom - especially during the day when presumably the hotel's central heating was turned off. Also, having to wait for an orange juice as there was only one jug out during a very busy breakfast service.

I stayed here for 3 days with my wife and was impressed by the location of the hotel. It's set in its own grounds next to the ruins of a medieval Bishops Palace. Great for exploring the West Wales coast. On arrival we were immediately offered a free upgrade on our room by very friendly reception staff. As others have mentioned the room was cold and we had to ask for the central heating to be turned on during our stay. The room had a lovely view over the grounds but looked like it needed a bit of a clean due to dust on various bits of furniture. The one unforgivable part was that there were remnants of the previous occupants on the toilet pan. Clearly the cleaning staff had not cleaned the room properly. Management should keep an eye on them. We really enjoyed the spa as it was very relaxing although the pool was colder than expected. It was fairly quiet at the hotel and so we were disappointed when we were told at dinner that some of the dishes on the menu were not available. At breakfast we were then told that they had run out of smoked salmon. From previous reviews the kitchen seems to have continuing issues. All in all we enjoyed our stay. The Spa, the location of the hotel, and the friendly staff are the highlights.

Booked a one night stay via expedia for a reasonable rate. Well worth the money! I honestly felt like I was not posh enough to afford a night stay here haha. First of all, I need to say how lovely the staff were for me and my mum. After driving all night, the lady at the desk allowed us early check into our room for a much needed power nap. And breakfast. She was so helpful getting us sorted after we had a 9 hour drive. I did try and remember her name, but honestly, I cant remember. Also, the lady on the desk this morning was also very lovely. If im honest, all staff were brilliant, making sure we had what we needed. Breakfast was great on both mornings, with choices of cereal, pastries, toast, ham etc as well as a cooked breakfast. And the coffee was great! well needed. Service was extremely quick, with food cooked perfectly. Again, servers made sure we had enough of what we wanted. Room it'self was a twin room. So so quiet which was what we wanted for a saturday night! Beds comfy and bath/shower relaxing. Heating was on so we were nice and toasty despite the storm. We only really had time to use the spa and pool for about an hour. But again, totally up to standard. Hot tub was an ideal temperature. not the type where you're overheating within minutes. Just warm enough to sit for a while, and after my drive, got my muscles going again. The pool...ok was a bit cool, but the exact same as other pools I use where ever I go. but I feel like other review people have been overdramatic. Pools are for swimming. And after a few lengths, I would not want it any warmer! The sauna and stream room, again perfect balance of not too hot where its uncomfortable, like with many others ive been too. These ones were again at right temperature, I could have fallen asleep! Location in lamphey, central to where we needed to be. Not hard to get too. Although, take care when using google maps...it takes you down some small country roads because its "quicker" But on a normal road to pembroke..totally easy. So yes, all in all, a brilliant stay, and I will be staying here again! Thank you to everyone at the best western over the weekend! You're all great. Keep up the good work!

My partner and I stayed at the hotel to celebrate our anniversary. We booked a deluxe room, which was spacious and well equipped. The king size bed was as comfortable as our bed at home and the hotel was quiet throughout the night. We used the spa facilities which were also exceptional. We only wish the Spa was a little closer to home. We ate our evening meal in the restaurant and couldn't faultl the selection on offer. What we had was perfectly cooked and presented. Staff were helpful and friendly. Breakfast was nicely prepared and a treat too. A lovely restful visit.

Disappointed to say the least. Have stayed at far superior properties (outside of the best Western group) for far less. If you're looking to book this property, I'd suggest reconsideration. Some points to be aware of: Spa pool and infant pool were colder than you'd expect. Colder than our local council run swimming facilities. We were planning on returning to the spa on our second day but this put us off. Certainly not suitable if you have children and far from a relaxing dip. The only baby change facilities were on the poolside (these were also locked) which were not advertised or offered to us. Breakfast was appallingly dry and overcooked. Again something we were looking forward to and wish we hadn't bothered. When calculated, it worked out that breakfast cost in excess of £12 per head for our stay, very unsatisfying. Our room's key card was deactivated half hour before checkout, when returning from breakfast we couldn't get back into our room to collect our belongings. This meant a trek in the rain back to reception for my partner while I waited outside our room for 10 minutes with an 8 month old who was already unhappy and needing to be changed. It appears they had deactivated many of other guests' key cards also, leading to a queue of people at reception requiring assistance. The only positive to take away from our stay would be that the staff are welcoming and friendly.

We unfortunately booked into Lamphey Court for two nights Anniversary Celebration costing with our dog amounting to £400 in December Don't bother looking on their interesting website menu as you won't be offered it The accommodation was awful Cold tired and heating controlled by the main hotel They prefer to keep you cold rather than comfortable The spa is amazing but that's it! On the first night we had booked at seven for dinner but when we booked in were told it was either 6.30 or 9.30 as they had a large party in! This amounted to nine guests! We were placed in the tired restaurant rather than the conservatory which we had chosen An A 4 menu consisting of five starters five mains On day two our anniversary we were seated in the conservatory! Freezing cold and yet another A4 menu reduced again! Reason given? Short staffed! Fish chips mushy peas with a bottle of fizz for your anniversary GREAT NOT Oh it could have been burger and chips! Tried to complain to Best Western but they pass you back to the manager of the hotel who is always not contacting you because they are short staffed!! Avoid this overpriced establishment with a wide birth! A complete disaster and rip off Try the Lamphey hotel in the village Lovely welcoming guys Beautiful white linen table cloths The Sunday lunch looked amazing compared to our fish and chips Also avoid Best Western as they pass the buck big time!!!

We went for a short break and to explore the local countryside. We were impressed with the attentive staff and the superb room and ensuite . We had dinner in the conservatory. It was a Sunday so there was a table de hote menu and we had 2 courses for £15.95 per person. A selection of starters and main courses and we had the ham hock terrine to start and this was served with warm bread and chutney - absolutely delicious. We both had the roast dinner which came with plenty of vegetables and roast potatoes and parsnips- there was also a separate jug of gravy. It was beautifully cooked and presented. We used the swimming pool and spa facilities- again all very impressive. The breakfast was, again like everything else, very impressive. A buffet of fruit , cereals etc and then various choices of cooked breakfast which was cooked to order. All superb quality. We would definitely recommend a stay.

Great place to stay for access to amazing coastal walks. Hotel clean and spacious and lovely setting facing parklands. Next door to the remains of Lamphey palace interesting and atmospheric. Would recommend hotel to anyone wanting a peaceful stay in a country hotel.

We booked here for my sisters hen party last weekend & so glad that we did. There was 16 of us in total & so organising the weekend could have been difficult but the hotel was so helpful & catered to everything we requested. Our rooms were in the courtyard so we could all be together and were all beautiful, spacious & clean. We hired the Ruby room (which is perfect for a small function) for the first night & a hot buffet. The food was incredible! The lasagne was the nicest I have ever tasted. We then had a spa day on the Saturday & the spa is beautiful, clean and the staff were all really friendly & helpful. I had a back, neck and shoulder massage and it was amazing! Breakfast was delicious on both mornings with plenty of choice and the staff serving were all really helpful and welcoming. A massive thank you to all the staff at Lamphey for making my sisters hen weekend an incredible one, we will definitely be back! X

We checked in on Christmas eve and until we left three days later we had a lovely relaxing stay. We used the spa and pool, walked in the beautiful surroundings and over to Freshwater East on boxing day. The food was excellent, very tasty and plentiful. A harpist played at Christmas eve dinner and a duo sang during our boxing day dinner, both were very enjoyable. All the staff throughout the hotel are a credit to your company. Friendly, accommodating and efficient. Thank you all for a lovely Christmas.

We checked in and celebrated our Engagement at the hotel, all of the staff were INCREDIBLE. They each went above and beyond to make our stay memorable. Special thanks to the Bar Manager and Nathan- Head Chef these two in particular were so welcoming and we cannot thank them enough fr taking such great care of us. We cannot wait to come back soon.

I visited Lamphey Court Hotel and Spa for the second time a few weeks back. Needless to say, everything was grand from the food to the service, made by a great team of staff! I believe a server named Laurie was significantly helpful throughout the visit as always - a pleasure to be accompanied by. A third visit will most definitely be on the cards!

My husband and I wanted a break and so booked here as it was central to most of south Wales. Also, I wanted an evening restaurant and breakfast. We booked a deluxe room. The staff were superb. So friendly. We swam in the spa pool everyday which offers lots of treatments. The bed was a super King and was very comfortable. Toasty and warm too. Maybe radiators had been fixed?

Two months ago my husband and I stayed here for three nights, having had an enjoyable stay earlier in the year. This experience was quite different. On arrival we were directed to Room 1 in the East Wing. This was like an icebox. There was no means of switching on the radiator. On contacting reception we were informed that the heating was on a time control. However they immediately switched it on. We also noticed a humming sound which apparently came from the fans in the kitchen below. The next day we had the same problem with the heating. Reception informed us that the heating had been switched off but they soon put it back on. We had our evening meal in the restaurant. Our order was taken promptly. However it took at least 20 minutes for the starter to arrive. On collecting the plates, we were offered the dessert menu even though we had not had our main course! My husband returned the chicken and vegetable pie as it was luke warm and had a watery gravy with the filling. My fish was too much to eat. The fruit salad for dessert just consisted of various types of melon. The service was extremely slow and the waiting staff were often just standing around. On the third day we once again found the heating switched off when we returned to our room later in the afternoon. We complained to reception , stating that this was the third time that there was no heating. An apology was given and the radiators put on. There was never any problem with the heating in the morning. On the plus side, the breakfast was always of a good standard with excellent service. The hotel claims to hold a four star rating. We have written to the hotel manager to express out displeasure at the standard of the hotel. To date we have not had a reply.

Stayed here this week while in the area for business. Never ventured this far into West Wales before and the place is stunning. Not so impressed with the hotel however. Checked in OK, and then was pointed in the direction of my room. At the top of the stairs the corridor suddenly became darker and darker. I fully expected a motion sensor light to pop on - it didn't. A few steps further out came the phone and on came the torch, without which it would have been impossible and dangerous with a few steps. Opened the room door and expected a light to come on again - this time like the one when you open the fridge !. The room was seriously cold. Close inspection saw the radiator turned off, so whacked it up. No improvement. An hour or so later with cold fingers and toes but some work done, went downstairs for a meal. Food was.....average to be honest. My daily special turkey, ham and spinach pie had an enormous puff pasty top impossible to eat painlessly covering plenty of filling but in all honesty water for gravy. Returned for bed to find......freezing !. Even the bedsheets were seriously cold. Next morning, got up, hot shower to at least warm up and......the radiator came on !. In reply to "was everything Ok ?" On check out I did mention the cold which "should have been OK - I'll get it checked out". Paid £149 to sleep in a fridge.......

What a lovely hotel to stay at. I arrived on the Monday afternoon having booked what I thought was a standard double room. I was given my key and advised I was in a studio apartment. Upon entering I was presented with a large kitchen/dining area with the bathroom just off the kitchen. The next room along was a little living area and the the bedroom on the other side. I think it was almost as big as my flat!! The decor needed a little bit of updating however work was ongoing in other apartments so I imagine ours was due to follow. Unfortunately the shower was very poor with only a trickle of water emerging from it, I think there was more power from the taps on the sink! Inside the main hotel building we dined in the restaurant on the first night and thought the light bites were the best menu option from a price point of view. Do not be fooled, the burger was massive but also one of the best that I have ever tasted and the price I payed was very reasonable. Breakfast was cooked to order and we were always greeted with a friendly welcome and staff who appeared to be genuinely interested in what we had planned / done the previous day. We used the spa on just the one day and whilst the pool was a little cold for my liking, there were not many other users when we went in and was a very relaxing visit. All in all a lovely place to stay with a great view from our studio. Certainly somewhere I would stay again.

Recently visited for a family get together, excellent pool and spa facilities for those who used, staff where so helpful in all areas and made us feel very welcome from the moment we all arrived, food was excellent and well presented, thanks for a great time will be returning in the near future.

Stayed here during the recent half term holidays and was very impressed with the rooms, the food and the staff were excellent. The location was also excellent for the activities that we enjoyed whilst staying here.

Had a wonderful stay with my husband for our 5th wedding anniversary. Our room, the food and spa were outstanding and nothing was too much trouble for the staff. We will definitely be visiting again soon

What a lovely hotel! Staff are friendly and helpful, food was great and the spa was just what we needed for our time together as a couple. Clearly a well managed hotel. Would definitely recommend and would book again in the future.

An impressive exterior leads to an equally impressive interior. Our room was large and well-appointed with everything you would expect. Bed was comfortable and extra pillows provided. The quality of food at breakfast was very good but I would have liked a little more fruit. Overall a good stay and we would go again.

Had a secret escape break here staff a big plus all very friendly and made to feel nothing was to much trouble had a very relaxing break in area short distance to Tenby or many other holiday areas in West Wales food always hot and nicely served

Nice comortable, spacious rooms. Swimming pool,sauna,gym etc very well maintained. Good location with beautiful view of the farms around. Restaurant food was delicious and breakfast also was sumptous.

The hotel was nice. It delivered what it said that they will deliver. The spa and treatment was good and affordable. I will definitely use this again. You will need a car if you want to explore the area.

Booked this through secret escapes for our anniversary as it had a spa and the deal included an evening meal on the 2nd night. Cannot fault the food.. breakfast cooked fresh to order/ dinner lovely/waiting staff good. Accommodation... shown to ‘Room 1' must be the bargain discounted room in the hotel?! Situated directly above the kitchens in the east wing/ large extractor noisy directly outside bedroom window/ floor camber really bad on entrance to room (appreciate building is old but this could be rectified) flies in room? Spoke to other guests who also reported problems with flies too... Wanted to book treatments in spa during our stay but with the use of spa available to non residents of the hotel, no availability. Overall, very disappointed with room but food was lovely Will we visit again, probably not...

stayed here on a one night and spa deal and was not disappointed hotel was situated in beautiful surroundings our room was one of the superior rooms and could not be faulted we had the afternoon tea evening meal and use of all the spa facilities which also could not be faulted overall we had very enjoyable weekend break and would definately return in the future also like to thank all the staff for making us feel welcome.

Beautiful old hotel in scenic grounds. Lovely room which was clean and well equipped. Very comfortable beds with TV and drink facilities. Bathroom included shower and large mirrors for shaving washing etc.excellent breakfasts which were efficiently served. We had excellent friendly staff on every level. We were met by a very friendly efficient receptionist Nadine. All staff worked well with each other and seemed to be trained to work in most jobs so to work well as a team. Attached to the hotel was a modern spa with a swimming pool and gym. I had a deep back massage which was very beneficial. Overall a very pleasant experience which would be repeated.

Checked in for two nights to celebrate our first wedding anniversary. Room was ok, bathroom a bit patched up, bed on the one side was noise every time I moved and was lower than my wife's side. The shower was a trickle. I struggled to have a shower with short hair. My wife didn't even attempt it as it would have taken her hours to rinse her hair so she had to have a bath. No area with a plug socket next to a mirror for my wife to get ready. Location is fine if you just stay in the hotel but to far from Tenby and anything else. Overall over priced and won't be going back.

Checked in for two nights for me, my wife and little dog direct with Best Western. I'm a Diamond member not that it made any difference on arrival. Was firs told my booking was for one night for one person then informed in no uncertain terms that my dog was allowed in NO areas other then our room. Tried to explain that I was told at booking the dog was allowed to be in the bar or lounge rooms with us whilst we eat but again I was informed NOWHERE but room. Thought I'd ask to speak to The Manager who swiftly informed me she didn't like the way I spoke to her staff, policy was policy and I can pretty much take a run and jump! Well I booked in for two nights non-refundable but after this first night I'll take The Managers direction so me, the wife and the dog will leave. Not coming back here which is a shame because location looks ideal but not paying to be treated like something someone might have stepped in. Best Western take note as I will not longer be requiring my membership card with you guys, thanks.

The hotel was beautiful with a wonderful little surprise of the Lamphey Palace Court ruins just around the corner. The staff were amazing, always to hand and very polite. The Bar tender Mr O'Neil really made our engagement evening special and was a pleasure to talk to. The food was also very nice and the portion sizes generous. I would definitely return for our first anniversary!

Checked in for a two night stay. Decided to have evening meal in the hotel so was told 8.30pm was earliest we could have. Ok with that. So 8.25pm we went in and shown a table, all good, then asked would we like a drink. Ordered drinks, then waited 15 minutes before they turned up. We had ordered our food same time as drinks . Then food was brought to our table on two occasions, but the food was not ours. I saw my soup coming in after half an hour of waiting which was then given to a lady on another table who came in 15 minutes after us I then had a girl apologise for the mistake and was told ot would be sent in asap. Offered another bread roll as an appology. 5 minutes later a luke warm tomato and basil soup turned up Then another 10 minutes later our correct main meals turned up. The gammon tasted like someone had tipped the whole salt seller all over it and I had asked for proper chips instead of sweet potato chips , but got the sweet potato chips, by which time I was hungry and so said its ok I will eat them. Not a good start to our stay! Room was lovely, but as stated pillows were uncomfortable and bed wasn't that comfortable. Would recommend the Lamphey Hall hotel for food. Turned up there without booking and had drinks and food, two courses, all done in an hour and great food too!

I visited for the night with friends for my mum's birthday. First impressions weren't great as the receptionist didn't give us any information, think she expected us to know where the spa was etc. When we arrived in the spa it looked lovely but unfortunately it was freezing cold. Don't mind the pool being cold but the air was freezing and when you were wet it was very uncomfortable. My mum who's in her 70s asked for a robe as she was so cold but the staff said no. The hot tub & sauna were also cold. I can't normally cope in a sauna as it's too hot but this was luke warm. We then had to ask if our rooms were available early, which was disappointing as the spa was part of the stay. We then checked into lovely rooms and everything improved greatly. Claire was very helpful and afternoon tea was beautiful. We then had a few hours to go for a walk and dinner in the night was exceptional. We all had the dinner and it was so tasty. The staff were also very helpful, chatty and friendly. Really turned the stay around for us. After a lovely night sleep we had a beautiful breakfast before checking out. Again the staff were very helpful and friendly. Be great if reception send and staff could learn from them.

It is the first time I have stayed in the area since 1985 The room was spacious & comfortable, the staff were pleasant & helpful & the property was in an impressive setting. The breakfast was tasty & plentiful. I found my stay to be enjoyable & comfortable.

The spa was lovely treatment s were very good and Demi who carried out the treatments was polite, professional and very enthusiastic we also had 2 course lunch which was lovely and plenty of it and the waitress was very polite and efficient would definitely recommend to anyone who wants a relaxing day with beautiful surroundings,will definitely be going again

I had booked 2 nights as a surprise for my wife's birthday. The hotel is an old Manor House and we were not expecting it to be modernised as this would take away its charm. The staff were friendly and helpful so no issues with the service. The spa facilities are great and free to hotel guests. A nice pool with a sauna, steam room and jacuzzi. We had breakfast at the hotel which was okay but ate out in the evenings as we thought the food was expensive. To give an example, a rib eye steak was £21 but if you wanted chips, vegetables and pepper sauce this would be an additional £12. I would expect to pay extra for pepper sauce but not for vegetables. We booked 2 months in advance but were clearly given the worse room in the hotel, room 22. It was the only room with a window facing the back wall and a wire fence on the ground floor. The room was small, had a musty smell and the window was sealed. There was a door to a small paved area and pathway as a fire exit at the back of the hotel. The fire exit door faced you as you opened the room door. Not a pleasant place to sit out; there was only one chair with birds poo on it and lots of cigarette buts all around. Brambles were hanging over the wall. The bathroom door and bath panel looked as if they hadn't been finished and needed one or two more coats of paint. Considering this was our first visit to the hotel and we were members of the rewards programme, you would think that the hotel would want to encourage us to return rather than giving us the worse room that they had. Particularly as we had booked so far in advance. If we had booked late and that was the only room available then we could have understood, but that was not the case. The following day, we politely explained that we were not happy with our room and the receptionist moved us to another for the second night. The young lady was apologetic, empathised and was very helpful. She even arranged for a bottle of Prosecco to be placed in the new room. Room 6 was better but in both rooms the sleep quality was poor. The beds were uncomfortable as were the pillows. I would suggest contacting the Village inn or Premier Inn chain of hotels to see where they get their beds and pillows from. Their beds and pillows are very comfortable and the sleep quality excellent. Investment needs to be made at Lamphey Court to improve sleep quality in particular. We did not get much sleep at all. It is a shame to leave such a mixed review as the hotel could be so much better with some investment. Great staff and a fabulous venue being let down by a lack of investment by the owners. What a shame.

We enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The room and bathroom were both clean and big enough. The building is a nice historic one. The swimming pool was of good size. There sadly wasn't a fridge/minibar in the room.

My wife and I had a lovely overnight stay in Sept 2019 for my birthday. The staff is very engaging, supportive and kind. The food at dinner was tasty - I shared camembert with my wife, I had a pie of the day which was excellent and my wife had fish-cakes and nooldes (not the best) The room was very comfortable with lovely blackout curtains. The highlight of our stay was my back massage that my wife bought me at the on-site spa. Lydia literally had a workout (her words!) as I was so tight, but by the end of 30 mins, 20 mins of which I was completely gone!, I feel rejuvenated. A strong 4/5 stay. We have stayed her before and always love it.

We did not stay in the hotel but non residents who had a swim and two course lunch. We appreciated this offer, we enjoyed the pool and facilities. The lunch was tasty with large portions, so large that I asked for lasagne to take home. The staff were attentive, the surroundings beautiful, I love the character of older buildings. Thank you, hope to return.

Just a little trip to visit west wales . This place was a good base everything was good without being outstanding. Staff helpful , rooms tidy tiny moan getting breakfast was slow but nice when it arrived. Spa decent although a little pricy compared to others similar . Would recommend for a couple of nights

We stayed as family in two rooms for just under a week in August. The hotel is a lovely building in a beautiful location with good parking, and has that all-important indoor pool. Our room (11) was lovely but the teenage boys' room (16) had a window that was screwed shut - and fresh air would have been advisable - at least it wasn't very hot when we were there. Breakfast was not as good as it could have been. The dinner menu was too short, too dull and didn't change enough in the week, and service was slow. There were 4 members of staff who were very attentive but sadly the rest seemed disinterested in the guest experience. In conclusion, all the raw materials are there but a bit more attention to detail would make it a lot better.

The best part of the Hotel is the spa, our room no.22 was small and smealt musty and damp, the window wouldn't open so couldn't get any fresh air. The hotel is tired and in need of an uplift. £270 for 2 nights was not good value at all, an early checkout of 10am is ridiculous, when I asked the receptionist could we use the spa, she said that we could use until 11am and after that we would have to pay. Will stay somewhere else next time.

Lovely country hotel with excellent spa. Great for four legged friends. Excellent breakfast. Only issue was restricted use of swimming pool with an 11 yr old that didn't tie in with our days activities which when you pay for this you want to be able to use it. They never tell you these things when booking!

Arrived at the hotel, plenty of parking, suspicious as bank holiday weekend. Entered hotel via reception, receptionist did not look up or greet us. Went through to the bar, no-one serving. No beer on tap only lager. Meet our friends and went outside drink. Asked server for menus, which were duly bought. As she was going back in she said “oh and we have Sunday roast, lamb or beef. We ordered 3 lamb and one beef, which we requested to be medium rare. A little later she came back to say we should come into the conservatory as our meals were ready. One lamb was served, she then tried to give out two beef. No we said it should be three lamb. Bought vegetables, one bowl between 4. Then the other lamb arrived. Had to ask for mint sauce etc and extra gravy. None of this extreme but meat and veg over cooked. Had the place been busy, more understandable, BUT we were the only people in there!!! 2 girls from The Spa having coffee in their robes but not another soul. We know why now!!

Had a fantastic stay here with the family, accommodated the children very well. Great views in this stately home. The spa was amazing, indoor pool, jacuzzi, sauna and steam room. Would definitely come again.

Nice hotel in beautiful Pembrokeshire Countryside. Peaceful. Staff were friendly and helpful, spa was good. Would certainly stay again as good base for exploring South Pembrokeshire. The only thing to let this place down was the evening meal on the overpriced menu on Saturday night. Having ordered 'Chicken Supreme, with mushroom and pea fricassee, crispy polenta and jus', £16, I was surprised to be given overcooked chicken wrapped in lethargic underdone bacon, watery mushrooms, yellowish peas, and Boiled Potatoes. As I am not usually one to make a fuss, I ate what I could. But then to have asked for fruit salad (expecting a nice medley of fruit), was given underripe green melon, overripe watermelon, and tinned pineapple chunks-no sign of, say, grapes, apples, oranges, cherries, peaches, nectarine, pears, or other proper fruit-I felt I had to complain. Must have had diffent chef on Sunday as food was much better. I would visit this hotel again, but please improve the food (and prices of).

Enjoyed a fantastic lunch here with friends after a walk round The Lamphey Palace. Would highly recommend for great food and friendly service, other guests were having afternoon tea which looked amazing so I will definitely be back soon !

Husband was staying here whilst working in the area so the children and I asked if we could join him for an evening to take advantage of an impromptu visit to the coast. So glad we did! The hotel staff were friendly and brilliant and couldn't have done enough for us, promptly making up a sofa bed in his room on our arrival and suggesting we use the pool and facilities whilst they got everything prepared for us. Pool and spa an extra bonus for us and was very relaxing and clean and well maintained. Hubbys/our room was perfect, comfortable, spotless and well stocked with toiletries and refreshments and plenty big enough when 1 lonely business traveller became a family of 4 :) We ate in the restaurant which has a great menu with a varied selection, children highly recommend the steak and chips. Once again the staff deserve a mention for their friendly and attentive presence, even bringing some gluten free bread for us after overhearing a conversation - thoughtful and brilliant. A really lovely stay and we are grateful for your hospitality.

My wife, two young children & I stayed here for two nights in July 2019 while exploring the Pembrokeshire coast on a short break. Our room was very spacious- the kids loved the swimming pool- and the staff went out of their way to look after us (when we came back late for dinner, they very kindly made sure we were fed!) Excellent value and a super place to stay!

We were a group of 7 who booked spa packages. 1 of our group was not able to make the date, so contacted the Spa who accomodated her on another day - so that was really helpful. However, for the rest of us, we found the whole experience a lttle disappointing. 2 members of the group reported that 25 min treatments were actually only 20 mins and I think we all commented that the temperature of the jacuzzi and the steam room were much lower than we would expect, but we do all react to heat differently, so perhaps it's just us. The worst thing was the lunch - we hoped for a leisurely lunch, but for 6 of us it took 2 hours!! we were told that it was ‘busy' and that chef was dealing with a delivery. At no point was the restaurant more than 1/3rd full, so we would suggest either additional staff are needed in the kitchen or deliveries are timed outside of weekday lunch times. Our waitress, whilst polite, took 3 attempts to get our order correct. She admitted she was in her first week, but had little understanding of the menu. More training needed! The Caesar Salad, is not a Caesar Salad; it's a salad with chicken and Caesar dressing; A proper Caesar salad does not have tomato or cucumber. We're not being picky - one of our group cannot eat cucumber and therefore had to send it back. She told the waitress it was because the contents of the salad were not correct and that she cannot have cucumber. She reordered a posh fish finger sandwich, which came with a side salad - including CUCUMBER. In the end, we were laughing as it was all getting a bit 'Mrs Overall' but it did really spoil the day and we wouldn't be rushing to go back. Our drinks and sides came to just under £30 and the Spa Manager did agree to waive this due to our experience.

I came here with my partner, my sister and her husband. We stayed two nights. We had a lovely room. It was clean and very spacious. The bed was smaller than I would have hoped but it was very comfortable. The shower was good. Good pressure and good temperature control. The scenery around the hotel is beautiful. We made use of the swimming pool and spa. The staff in there were helpful and friendly. We liked how the hotel gave us access to games and activities to do in our rooms. The housekeeping staff were very thorough for us, however it was noticed that the previous occupants in my sister's room (238) left their underwear in one of bedside draws. Not an issue but amusing. We did not try the meals at the hotel so we cannot judge their quality or value. When checking in, the reception staff seemed a bit off with us but we didn't spend much time in contact with them during our stay so it didn't hinder us greatly. I would say it's an area for improvement. Overall we had a great stay.

Very nice venue and extremely pleasant and helpful staff. However, we booked a dog friendly hotel and whilst the Studio rooms were perfect (away from main hotel, with parking outside room and easy access to dog walking areas) we were not allowed to take the dog into main area of hotel. Therefore we could not dine there and breakfast had to be taken one at a time. Whilst we were told we could leave the dog in the room whilst we ate, this is not a good idea if any dog is in an unfamiliar setting. We were therefore rather stuck in our room and could not sample the delights of what the main hotel had to offer. This might be ok for some, but we were rather looking forward to dinner in a posh hotel without having to drive. But this was not possible!

This hotel has set the bar for the rest of the accommodation in the area. The bathroom has a lovely original feel to it, with solid porcelain features. The bar provided a solid place to relax and to conduct any remaining work. The staff were very helpful and accommodated many standard requests.

Wow.....totally recommend Lamphey Court Best Western hotel for : Location Food Price Treatments Had a fabulous day with daughter and sisters relaxing in the spa before our treatments of facials and Shellac nails. The therapist Debbie carried out our treatments....she was professional, highly competent and friendly, answering all questions when asked. The 2 course lunch was exceptional, tasty, plentiful and served in the conservatory of the hotel. The waiter and restaurant manager Robert O'Neil were very friendly and helpful, as one of our party was a Vegan. Her needs were totally catered for with a tasty, delicious lunch! As were ours. We will be returning, as this was exceptional value whilst the setting was first class.

We booked to stay at Lamphey Court through Spabreaks.com , the idea was to have a relaxing weekend with good food, sightseeing and spa treatments as a treat for our wedding anniversary. The hotel ticked all the boxes. The super friendly staff were so helpful in the evenings at dinner and mornings at breakfast with recommendations on where to visit in the area. The food in the hotel was superb prepared by Anthony, Sam, Nathan and Tom the chefs. After a days out and about exploring the area, the food was very homely and delicious each evening. The Spa treatments with Demi & Lydia were sublime, the girls expertise & professionalism really shone through. We would highly recommend the Lamphey Court for a relaxing break. Mr & Mrs Templeton

After multiple treatments (massages, facials) at the spa, I feel it is only right to thank Demi for her professional and attentive approach to the work she does. Demi always asks what it is that I want from my treatments and adapts accordingly, whether it be sore muscles from the gym, pent up stress, acne breakouts or just wanting to be pampered. I have never left a treatment with Demi feeling anything other than relaxed, rejuvenated and spoiled. It is clear that Demi is truly talented at what she does and enjoys her work. I can't wait for my next treatment with her! Thank you Demi.

We arrived early and the room was not ready but were offered tea and sat in the lounge. and after went for a walk the veiw is lovely and the Archbishops palace near the hotel was amazing. when we booked in the room was perfect. during our stay we visited Solva Haverford West and Pembroke all nearby. My wife had spa time and thoroughly enjoyed it. We also used the swimming pool and facilities were very good. We spoke to Lori in the restaraunt and she told us about Angle Bay which we visited too. what a wonderful time we had. All the staff were lovely and helpful special thanks to Lori who made us very welcome an assett to the hotel. And yes we will be back.

From the moment we arrived after a very long car journey from the south of England we were met by staff who seemed disinterested or unmotivated. The service from the reception, the restaurant and the leisure centre was very poor and really took away from our experience. There didnt appear to be any level of management or supervision in the hotel. Young, inexperienced staff were running around covering different areas at once. The room was basic but clean. The leisure centre pool was small and water was very cold for a heated pool. I would definitely recommend a B&B or alternative as opposed to this over-priced and poorly ran hotel. We will not be returning.

Booked Sunday lunch for 3 adults. They have a lunch and swim package. After spending a day on the phone the manager was insistent on not allowing the young adults to transfer the swim package whilst the adults spent money on food and drinks in the restaurant plus young adults having food in the restaurant afterwards. We were offered to pay £25 per person for the use of the pool!! What a shame and way to run a business in a rural area that relies on tourists. Have obviously stopped my recommendations as well as the booking. Shambles

When we arrived At 1:30am our rooms were Naas the rooms we were told we were getting we booked two rooms and going very disappointed plus we were one hour trying to check in then I found a pillow with some horrible looking stains I did report it to the young lad who was working that night he said we will talk about it in the morning but the manager done nothing to help about it the breakfast was okay but I suppose you would expect that for £25 Per person overall comments not happy at all with the stay definitely would not stay again

We stayed here very recently and had a brilliant time. The thing that makes this hotel stand out (other than the superb location for access to Tenby and Saundersfoot) is the staff who are, without exception, incredibly warm, friendly and helpful. The setting is stunning and the pool is great. Dinner in the restaurant was expensive and, for the price, not terribly good, so we ended up dining out in Tenby most evenings. However, breakfast was good with a decent (though not huge) selection. The hotel itself is a beautiful building with incredible potential but it does need some money spending on it and that is perhaps reflected in the 3 star rating. Overall, I would recommend this hotel and we would definitely stay again.

Visited for a few days, was all good, service from the staff was second to none, apart from the strange waiter who introduced himself as ‘the cage' and got annoyed when we asked what his real name was

Beautiful hotel set in private grounds with well managed swimming pool & spa. Claire does a great job making sure breakfast runs well and everything is hot and brought to the table on time. Special thanks to Helen though for going the extra mile and making sure our stay was truly special .... nothing is too much trouble and her knowledge of the local beaches helped us plan our days out.

A friend and I went to Lamphey Court Hotel and Spa for our annual treat today. We used the lovely facilities including the pool and sauna, before our treatments. We then sat in the glorious sunshine for our two course lunch, which was really delicious. My dessert was amazing! We had a fabulous day. The staff were all lovely. We'll be back.

I often visit Lamphey Court Hotel & Spa for work and always have a pleasant stay. Great facilities, including a well equipped gym and great food. Bar and restaurant staff are really friendly and personable - Helen from the bar team is the most memorable due to her great service and attention to detail.

We stayed in this hotel for 7 nights and overall we enjoyed our stay. It is situated in a very quiet rural area not far from the sea. We were allocated a very spacious room on the top floor at the front of the hotel with a good view overlooking the countryside. There were a few things we did not like but not worth complaining about ie. The beds were not very comfortable nor was the duvet, Two of the large windows; one in the bathroom and another in the bedroom could not be opened as they appeared to be stuck. The breakfast was very poor and only the eggs were cooked fresh with all the other items had been cooked before and just warmed through. The "grilled" tomatoes were served in their natural state and cold. Scrambled egg on "Toast" was serverd on plain bread that had not been toasted. Other items available were of poor quality and the only bread was cheap sliced white or brown. We did complain to the duty manager who was very nice but nothing changed. Apart from the breakfast we had a wonderful week in Pembrokeshire and look forward to visiting again. We must say that all the staff were very friendly and its a shame about the breakfast chef who we did not meet.

Lovely stay at this timeless hotel. Back here after a visit over 30 years ago and found it was equally as good. Room was spacious and clean, maybe a little warm, but portable fans are available. Bottles of wTer replenished each day. Lovely building retaining its original features and style. Excellent staff, friendly and chatty. Breakfast was great. Can't understand other reviews being critical of breakfast.

Enjoyed a excellent treatment with Rachel, very professional. The team also on were Erin, Jasmyn, and Demi .All were attentive , very welcoming .offered us coffee and made our time there very special. We had lunch in the hotel after. The meal was lovely , but the service from beginning to the end was very poor . We waited for nearly fourty five minutes for the meal to be served , had to ask for which should have been each person a portion of vegetables , second portion came as we finished our meal ! no one came and asked if all was okay !.All being not busy as there was only two other people in the resturant !!!!! The problem is these curteous young people have had NO training ,as in all buisnesses training is the first and foremost for buisnesses to succeed .We will definately visit the spa again .it's a gem of a find . Will not be visiting the resturant again which is a shame because it's an ideal location after having treatments in the Spa . Train your staff !!!!!!

The hotel, accommodation and health spa were excellent but the food in the restaurant was dire. Really awful food. The meat and fish were of very poor quality and the steak we had was not sirloin as advertised but a cheap tenderised alternative. It tasted tainted and was sent back. The starter of HOT small beetroots and Hot goats cheese killed the cold salad underneath it. ll the ingredients in a dish like this should have been served COLD.

We stayed here for three days . it is in a very nice spot.we loved it. All the staff we spoke to were nice. and very helpful.the food was nice also. the health club. is nice also.very good there are also some nice walks there to.it is a nice hotel to go to and relax.

What a lovely idea. Great welcome, complimentary coffee tea and biscuits. Excellent prizes in the raffle and a goody bag to take home. Thoroughly enjoyed the evening, especially the very relaxing foot massage from Demi.

Myself and some friends stayed here this weekend for a hen party. The rooms were very large and spacious, beds were comfy and room was clean. Staff were very helpful in booking a taxi for us to go into tenby in the evening and were happy to help in the early hours of the morning when my room key would not open the door. My only quibble was the breakfast. I felt it was expensive at nearly £13 per person. I had a cooked breakfast, but staff did not ask how much of each item I wanted. So my £13 breakfast consisted of 1 small. Poached egg, 1 hash brown, 2 button mushrooms, 1 sausage, 1 bacon and beans. I personally don't eat alot of meat and would have appreciated the option of maybe having more beans or mushrooms instead of the sausage, but this wasn't a option. The staff at breakfast also seemed very rushed off their feet and we had to ask for things, like butterfor the table several times before they arrived. I get hotels are busy and we did have breakfast at 10 so at the tail end of service, but there didn't seem to be anyone replenishing food that had run out, such as bread for toast, fruit juices and cups. Apart from breakfast being a bit below what I expected from a best Western hotel, we enjoyed our stay and would return but probably wouldn't eat there again.

Had 3 night stay in a family room which was very nice. Didn't bother with breakfast as it was £12 each ! Had one meal in the restaurant one evening. Tagliatelle was supposed to be prawns squid cockles and mussels Had one prawn and one squid It was full of mussels Dessert was £7 which was high for what we had There is no air conditioning in the rooms Could do with a fridge

Lovely setting, nice spa, lovely staff at the spa, the 2 course lunch a bit disappointing, food was fine, waitress was lovely, but the flies in the glasshouse eating area were disgusting, informed waitress who asked if we would like to move table, which we didn't because the whole room was full of flies. Disappointing. What a shame as the eating experience did not match the spa experience.

One night was bearable. Just. Booked because of the BW branding which is usually pretty good. Everything felt old and grimy. Staff lovely though. Our room was tiny and felt like the worst in the hotel. No warning of step down into room when door opened. As we opened door bed was straight in front. Bathroom to right and a built in wardrobe next to that. The TV was placed on table in between them, next to bed! We had a back door leading out to a paved area with a chair, the very noisey boiler was also in the enclave. No folder you usually find in hotels outlining facilities Bathroom dirty and bath small. Toilet took at least 2 flushes, than about 15 minutes to refill. No lock on bathroom door. Bed not comfy so little sleep. Check out stupidly early at 10.30 but we left before to find food. The place needs a good refurb and overhaul As this was our third hotel in a week and a one night stay we just put up with it but would not consider a return.

Looking for a place to hold our prom in West Wales was an impossible task so we were very happy when we found Lamphey Court and the building itself looked beautiful and elegant which you would assume reflected on the staff and the service but clearly not. After weeks of trying to contact Lamphey and being told to email various different people none of which responded, we had to ring and were told to email and not to ring again as they can't answer our questions (would've thought the receptionist would know be ins and outs of the hotel). We eventually got through in emails after and got a response weeks after our first email. After sorting dates, times and numbers with no help we had to push everything ourselves and it was clear they “couldn't really be bothered” as it would take weeks for a reply to simple questions which stressed us all out and dragged out the booking process. £15 was agreed for each person for food (by Lamphey themselves) and £8 for the room coming to £23 per person and there was 20 of us, including deposit which doesn't get returned it came to £450 for 3 hours as under 18s can't stay unaccompanied past 10, something we weren't made aware of until a few weeks before. In terms of food, a few weeks before they told us £15 won't get us much despite that being their suggested price so had to change our 3 course meal to 2 courses, asked if we could have bread on the table and got told that goes over budget (most restaurants/hotels provide bread at no extra cost and as we had cut out starters would some bread on the table of been too much to ask for £450?). We looked at the menu online and very much liked the options but no surprise were told that goes over our budget too and we had to suggest to them what we wanted, how are we meant to suggest anything if it's all too expensive for our £15 and I assume the chefs at Lamphey cannot cook 20 different meals so Lamphey should've given us options within our price range and let us decide from them but instead we went back and forth in emails being told no to our ideas and eventually had to go into the hotel just to get an actual reply as the date was approaching quickly and we weren't getting any response. After sending so many emails we were told that they had a wedding the weekend before (our prom was Tuesday the 18th and the wedding the weekend just before it), this just goes to show how little they cared about it as were told they were too busy with someone else's event to penalise ours which was a few days after. Then learnt after having to ask ourselves that we wouldn't get a reply from the manager (who we'd been emailing for weeks) because they were on sick leave, would've been nice to know that before sending questions and information over with no response. Instead of being taken to another room or into a private space when we visited we had to stand at reception while being patronised/“told off” for not suggesting any food to them. I would assume that was their job but then again we are only 16 and don't run hotels. Eventually we were given 3 options for main and 3 for dessert, a few extra options would've been better as 1 options was vegan so that leaves 2 dishes to choose from for everyone else. It's funny because when visiting the hotel I read their menu which had options such as burgers and pies for under £15 but were told it was to expensive to choose from their menu previously? However despite that the food was the only decent thing about the experience so thank you to the chef. Decorations weren't provided and we had to do that ourselves, music wasn't provided and we had to do that ourselves, drinks weren't provided and had to pay extra for SOFT drinks at the bar and weren't told this until a week before. Asked if we could use the projector to show some photos (already in the room) and was told that's extra money again... for something they already had in the room we were using. The whole experience was uncomfortable, we were watched every second of being in there. The staff didn't take their eyes of us and heard them mocking us without mistake from the bar. Unprofessional not to mention upsetting as this was our last event of school, clearly couldn't wait for us to leave. When leaving there was no thank you for coming, no help in taking decorations down or carrying them all outside and staff just stood and watched us. Such a shame as this place is beautiful but let down by customer service. Would not recommend for functions.

We booked a room at lamphey to have our leavers prom at, it wasn't easy as we didn't get replies from our emails and ended up having to actually go in to Lamphey Court and book it. We were advised to pay £23 each, we were told this broke down into £8 for the room and £15 for the food, when one of us went to Lamphey Court to ask about food options, because again, we didn't get replies to our emails, we were then told that the price we were paying would hardly get us anything and it wasn't really enough, even though it's the price they advised us to pay. We had to decorate the table ourselves and drinks weren't included. One of the staff members that were working on the night of our prom, was constantly making comments, looking unimpressed and giving us dirty looks. It made many of us feel uncomfortable and judged, and it sort of ruined our night. Apart from all of that, the food was very nice.

Took an offer through Secret Escapes for accommodation and evening meal. The hotel is not on a main road (best to approach from Pembroke) but is approached via a beautiful private road going past the ruins of Lamphey Palace. The inclusive leisure facilities are first class, large gym with a separate movement studio, large pool heated to a nice temperature, a hot tub, sauna a steam room. There is also a spa. Breakfast was a pleasure as was the evening meal on the second night. The location is very central to visit the tourist spots of South Pembrokeshire: Freshwater East, Stackpole, Barafundle and Broad Haven South to the south. Pembroke, Freshwater West and Angle to the west. Carew Castle to the north. Manorbier, Skrinkle Haven, Tenby and Saundersfoot to the east. Looking forward to a return visit.

We stayed at this lovely inn while on a tour of Wales. The setting was exquisite, the manor house itself beautiful, and the food quite good. The coffee – always important for me – excellent. The staff was helpful and friendly. Frankly it did not feel like a chain hotel!

This hotel is located in a very scenic area. Bit old building, but well maintained. Good sized family rooms and facilities. Swimming pool, spa and gym were very relaxing. Breakfast was of good quality and the staff were excellent

Lovely hotel with comfortable rooms and excellent staff. Plenty to see in the area. We did not use the pool but it looked very nice and spa treatments were available. Excellent weekend break. The food was good but the menu was the same on both nights we spent there but still a reasonable choice. We would definitely go there again

Hum, incredibly hot, windows don't open, cleaning crew below par (one day did not clean so requested to take away trash, dirty dishes (left outside door with note and to leave extra toilet paper-which they did not leave). One other day they did not clean bath or replace towels on floor. Hotel is very dated but they have one huge plus in Rob-a man who does EVERYTHING! Helped with bags to room, served luch, served room service, got a fan, replaced toilet paper...he is the best thing at the hotel and should be traing supervisor! Thanks Rob, without you it would have been very disappointing! Make him employee training supervisor!

the vegetables were under cooked, I think the vegetables just looked at the sauce pan, and the grilled salmon was left under the grill far to long, and the sauce with the salmon did not taste of dill as it should have.

Outstanding location, you will be delighted with some much available locally. Staff are wonderfully friendly and professional, food is sourced locally so tasty. Rooms and facilities are great and relaxing.

We loved our stay here, the hotel is in a great location , easy drive to loads of beaches and costal walks etc. Check out some of the beaches to the far west of the hotel (Angle, Freshwater west ) all drivable in 15 mins and peaceful but really nice. Hotel room was great - very traditional style but spotless. Beds comfy and a good nights sleep had. Shower was a bit weak other than that great! Breakfast was excellent, freshly cooked and perfect size. Also Buffet selection was great. Staff very friendly and helpful at breakfast. Spa was lovely too - quiet, clean and great facilities. Relaxed atmosphere helped by the really nice staff. All the staff we spoke to we're more than welcoming and helpful. Will be staying again if I'm in the area.

We stayed here as part of a group and although the guide rang ahead 40 minutes out our room in the annex was freezing I had to walk over- no one answered the phone- and the heater was then turned on. No apology. The water pressure is so bad that it takes 10 minutes for the toilet tank to refill so showering is no pleasure. Forget filling the bath I didn't attempt it but I was only here for one night so didn't have time to wait. Dirty rug, worn out settee, rust and mould in bathroom.. Couldn't wait to leave.

My friends and I stayed here in May in a studio room in the Courtyard. The room was a really good size with a double bed in the main room and two singles in a smaller room to the side. I agree the decor is a bit dated but the room was very comfortable and clean. The only issue was we couldn't turn the radiator off! I found all the reception staff to be very friendly and helpful, the bar not so much but there was a function on the Saturday so busy but still we should all be treated equally, also the actual bar is very small for the size of the hotel. Spa facilities were a bit disappointing, changing rooms very small and jacuzzi was quite cold. The views from the hotel are beautiful and it's only about a twenty minute car drive to Tenby. I slept really well and breakfast had a really good choice of both cooked and continental. We received excellent service, all staff were very polite and attentive. Coffee was good too - smiley face. There is room for improvement but overall I very much enjoyed my stay and looking to book a return visit.

Excellent hotel with very friendly staff who aim to please. We had a family gathering for lunch in the conservatory and food/service/staff were excellent. Also it's great having the spa, lovely pool. I would certainly recommend this hotel.

Very average. This is NOT a 4* hotel. Expensive but dated accommodation. Patchy and amateur service. Average food. On the positive side, this is a well located and characterful hotel, with attractive grounds, views and a good spa and pool. However, experienced in the round, whilst this is pitched as a four star hotel, it suffers from patchy customer service and the accommodation in the stable block where we stayed is very dated and needs a refurb. With a little investment, a new manager to offer strong leadership and a new chef this place could be really good. However, it is very expensive for what it currently offers... We ate breakfast and evening dinner in the restaurant twice during our stay and we found service to be very patchy and amateur and the food very average for the price. This is a real issue when you are paying almost £200 a night for a room and a further £150 (excluding drinks) for a dinner for four guests and sits in stark contrast to the image given by the owners website. Many of the waiting staff need professional training to stop the shoddy service. Examples included three staff standing in the corner loudly gossiping rather than looking after guests; waiting staff moaning about the barman directly to guests; if a guest orders a bottle of wine don't dump it on the table and walk off but offer to pour it. That's standard convention in a four star hotel. If you have a dessert menu make sure all the items are in stock and if you have a reception make sure it is manned to allow people to check out without having to endure guests to walk around the hotel to find a member of staff..... Individually all these things are niggles, but together these built up to become irritating. Throw in the fact that the stable wing offers very dated accommodation and needs a refurb and this place looks very expensive for what it is. We will not rush back.

My wife and I had a fantastic stay at the hotel, we had food both nights and I really can't fault the service or the setting. Hotel was really easy to find and proved a great base for our golfing break to Milford haven and south Pembs - but is great generally for exploring south Pembrokeshire.

Food terrible Staff not enough but those that are there really friendly and try very hard against all the odds Rooms dated Restaurant, if the conservatory is an excuse for a restaurant poor Need a chef Maintenance non existant Spa didn't use so can't comment Bar poor beer selection might have expected some local beers. Value for money at £112 a night in West Wales in the middle of nowhere with £12.95 for breakfast. So B&B for 2 = Just shy of £140 No Great location and impressive grounds. If your looking for an expensive B&B in a good location to explore the very West of Wales. This is it (apart from breakfast). If your looking for a top notch Hotel with service I can't possibly comment

We stayed at the BW Lamphey Court Hotel & Spa over Easter weekend, for two nights. The hotel was very close to being fully booked a the time. I must admit I was a little worried after reading the bad reviews, but many of them were spot on. We did not have dinner at the hotel because of all the bad reviews, so I cannot comment re dinner. Overall, I we paid a lot for our room as we were staying in high season. I would say that the hotel, although 4* based on the facilities, really seemed more 3* in experience. Here is a summary of our stay: Positives 1. My husband accidentally booked a 'pet friendly' room for us, when I am very allergic to pet hair. We were very thankful that Sarah was able to find an alternative room for us when we telephoned the day before our arrival. 2. Our room had tea and coffee making facilities, as well as bottled water and biscuits, which was a nice gesture 3. The spa complex and pool were lovely. The lady working in Reception was helpful and it is a tranquil and well kept modern space. 4. The location of the hotel is excellent for Stackpole and Freshwater East. There are lovely hotel grounds and the front of the building is very impressive. 5. There is a lovely lounge with board games and newspapers available, as well as a nice hotel bar. 6. There seem to be plenty of parking spaces - we did not ever struggle to find parking, although parking right in front of the hotel is limited. 7. Most interactions with members of staff were pleasant and they were all polite. Negatives 1. Room 3 in the East Wing looks over the car park and there is a lot of noise heard from outside and the corridor 2. The bedrooms need modernisation. There is no in-room air conditioning (not sure what this would be like in high Summer) and the bathroom does not have mixer taps. The TV was placed in an awkward corner of the room. There was no hair conditioner provided in the rooms, but there were little bottles of body wash, moisturiser, bar soap and shampoo. 3. The toilet seat in our room was broken on arrival. We reported this the next day and it was rectified on the same day, but it was disappointing that this was not checked prior to our arrival. 4. The electronic key cards kept deactivating - this happened every day, and we had to keep returning to reception to have the key cards reactivated. Sarah also came to reset our room lock on one occasion, but it did not seem to make much difference. We kept our room key cards away from other cards and mobile phones. 5. Service at breakfast was extremely slow. On our first morning, we ordered the vegetarian breakfast, which took 45 minutes to arrive. There was only one egg (when the menu said 'eggs' any style). They were accommodating when we made special requests on our second day. The hot breakfast menu was rather limited and I was disappointed with the cold breakfast selection. 6. The spa showers had cheap soap inside, which was a bit of a let down, as were the spa towels. You also needed £1 to lock the lockers 7. The duvet that was placed in our room on the first night was old and bobbled all over (I took a photo). This made for a very uncomfortable first night's sleep. I brought this to the attention of staff on our second day, and it was rectified, but I would question why this old bobbly duvet cover was thought appropriate to use in a guest bedroom in the first place. 8. It is very difficult to bring up issues with your stay when asked at check out and there are a queue of other guests behind you. I note Claire Callaghan has raised in her responses to a few bad reviews that many guests did not raise concerns at check out, and I wonder if this was one of the factors why. 9. When we returned late to the hotel one evening, we were locked out. We had not been made aware of a code to enter, and the telephone at the front of the building to request help, was disconnected! 10. When checking in, there was a problem, as we had paid for room and breakfast through Booking.com and only the room rate was showing as paid on the hotel system on arrival. We had to produce proof we had paid for breakfast, and then this was added back on to the hotel system. Possibly not the hotel's fault, and more a fault of how they interact with Booking.com, but something to bear in mind for anyone who books online. We would not hesitate to return if some of the issues we had on our stay had not occurred. It seems many of the same issues are brought up time and again by reviewers, and one would hope that the hotel could look into them as ways to improve, as there is really so much potential.

Stopped for two nights (23rd & 24th April). Fantastic hotel with excellent facilities. Stopped in room 6 which was immaculate & a fantastic view of the surrounding countryside. Used the restaurant on the first night & enjoyed a superb cooked three course meal with excellent wine. Used the bar on both days & nights & if the barman is not around a member of staff from reception was only too pleased to serve. Draught bass was in excellent condition. The hotel is close to a number of secluded beaches & just a few miles from Tenby. The breakfast is superb with ample variety & very good service. Spoke to a number of staff but the experienced barman advised some excellent bays to visit & was a joy to have a bit of banter with at the end of a long day. We will be visiting this hotel again this year & can't wait to get back. A very well done to all staff for making us comfortable during our stay. Mr David Large (Nottingham).

Spent a night at Lamphey Court on 18th April 2019 for my girlfriend's birthday treat. Nice grounds ideal for a walk. I booked my girlfriend for a hot stone massage which she said was very relaxing. The room had all the necessary amenities and was of a satisfactory standard. We decided to have dinner at the hotel which proved to be our worst mistake of the night. It didn't seem to be too busy when we arrived. 8 tables with 4 servers however there seemed to be along wait to be seen. After about 15 minutes a staff member came over to take our order. When I asked about ordering our drinks I was told someone else would come back to take the drinks order. Shortly after our drinks order were taken but we did not receive the water we had asked for. We had to ask for our water again an hour and a half later which when it arrived the waitress commented that we looked shocked. My girlfirend told her that we had waited an hour and a half for it in which she replied - no rush then. There was a bit of a delay for our starters. I had a scotch egg and my girlfriend had the soup. I must admit the scotch egg was lovely and one of the nicest I have had. My girlfirend also enjoyed the soup. It started to go downhill from here. Our mains arrived an hour later at which point we were starving. We both went for burgers. My girlfriend went for the beef burger which she had no complaints with. However I decided to go for the lamb burger which was on the special menu. There was nothing special about it. I could only manage a couple of bites of it. It was tasteless and felt undercooked. There seemed to be no flavour to it and is probably the first burger I have been unable to eat. I was very disappointed and still pretty hungry. I informed the waitress at the end of the meal who said she will inform the kitchen. On checkout we expressed our dissapointment to the receptionist who said she will discuss it on handover. We were a bit dissapointed not to be offered some sort of refund - especially after reading the comments and seeing that other guests have been offered a partial refund.

I visit every month for a social occasion in the Ruby Room with 40+ other ladies, the room is a great social space, & the food has always been good with a fair choice, however on the last two visits the choice of menu has been very poor & the food provided expensive (BAKED POTATO £9) & certainly not up to the usual high standard, ,what has happened? lets hope it improves!!!

Stayed for one night in one of the hotel's family suites. These rooms are in a separate block (converted stables I believe) the room was in a terrible condition. Ripped wallpaper, rotten window frames, windows that don't close properly, mould in the bathroom, cobwebs, and even squashed bugs on the walls. I could go on, but hopefully the photos say it all. The nature of the building also means noise is an issue. We were on the ground floor, and were kept awake by the constant noise of footsteps from the room above us. Looking at the reviews on here, it seems that most of the 4/5 star reviews are for the spa, and not the hotel. In fact the spa building / pool was actually very good (the kids enjoyed the pool), but if you are planning to stay at the hotel, it's worth looking past these spa-only reviews. I hate to give one star reviews but the management really needs to invest in this place and better oversee routine maintenance and cleanliness.

Spent 3 nights here whilst walking the Pembroke Coastal path. The leisure centre pool and jacuzzi were great after a long days walk. Rooms good. Restaurant good, but needs more variety in the menu for 3 nights stay.

Never having been to a spa before, didn't know what to expect, but totally delighted with the experience. Katie and colleagues at the front desk were really welcoming and helpful, and Demi the masseuse made me wonder why I haven't previously discovered the amazing restorative properties of a quality massage - my shoulders feel brand new! Beautiful surroundings (bathed in gorgeous sunshine) and a cracking afternoon tea made for a stunning day all round. Wish I could come back tomorrow. Thanks all :)

Super building and location , extra gift of the castle next door. Would recommend a visit to the Dial Inn pub at the end of the drive , great local ~ the building is beautiful and great views, great walking opportunities and short albeit expensive taxi into Pembroke , which is worth a visit - the room we had was excellent , decorated in a period manner , nice and clean - we weren't disturbed to clean the room - previous respondents described Fawlty towers(!) - there is an element of this - lot s of people working however lacking a bit of local management and direction - the food we had wasn't great and we choose to eat elsewhere and on our experience we wouldn't recommend however that was based on breakfast which is held in an unispiring room. Regards to Brian O' (?) who serves drinks and generally engages all - we would return however only as a base to explore the area - it's a 4 star building with a 3 star operation - a strong manager could turn this to a 4 star and it's within touching distance - saw a lot of afternoon teas but also say a lot of food left

My son has stayed before and we came on mother's day as he had enjoy a good stay and great food. So what has happened at this beautiful place for everything to be very “faulty towers” The room was nice but little or no cold water cleaned my teeth with bottled water.For those with limited abilities there isnot a lift to upstairs quite a struggle carrying bags.Main issue dining room the menu on this occasion very limited due to items not available how can there be no lamb in Wales.Waited 45minutes for starter every table waited waited and waited poor girl working in the dining room full of complaining guests at least the table by us were offered a complimentary drink.In the morning happy laughing shouting cleaning staff 7am banging doors .As we checked out cancelled our other night every guest in front of us complaining.Such a shame a beautiful hotel in a good location but no idea how to deliver customer service.One member of staff however deserves a mention for retrieving my mother's day gift she was concerned about our appalling stay.

We decided to visit Pembrokeshire again after a long time away. It did not disappoint and the Hotel was the icing on the cake. Staff, food and facilities were very good. Particularly liked both the bedroom and the swimming pool. Would have not problem in returning again later in the year for another battery recharge. Thanks Best Western

This was a gift from our Son DBB, we drove up from Wiltshire,and the Hotel ground and rooms are superb. Staff were very friendly and helpful also.It was my birthday,so we had a couple drinks before dinner. They called it fine dinning,far from it.Our shared platter of fish,was minus fresh salmon,so instead more added frozen calamari.Our main was a slice of Lasange which looked like a piece of cake with a wilted side salad served on a hot plate with frozen chips.my husband had hake,which was so dry.Waitress said lets try again, so I went for linguni thinking nothing can go wrong with that my god in was all in one lump.To add more misery my husbands fresh hake,which was not ! contained a piece of polythine inside it.You can imagin how very disapointed we were. Following morning my husband did complain and they didn't charge for our drinks and food. But that was good of them but it did'nt rectify My birthday trip was ruined by a dreadful chef.

I had Hopi Ear Candling last week, Katie was my therapist & done a fantastic job! It was very relaxing, the bed was heated & it was lovely experience. Katie talked me through the treatment which was very interesting, it's surprising what comes out of the ears but not at all painful, I could hear a very light crackling & the occasional tiny popping sound. Thank you so much Katie.....I will be back for another treatment very soon!

Fabulous Spa Hotel, in beautiful surroundings, so quiet you can hear the birds singing. Large bedrooms with tea/coffee tray. We booked each night in the restaurant, the food & wine was fabulous, using the large conservatory lit with candles and piped music, lovely ambiance. The leisure facilities are excellent, large pool, Jacuzzi, steam room & sauna. It was so relaxing I booked myself a massage. Returned home so relaxed.

Booked this place especially for the spa and afternoon tea. Booked in, no issue, Kim on the front very helpful and welcoming. Went for Afternoon tea, for £39 for 2 you'd expect a choice of tea, a top up or even asked, fruit and plain scone, not just fruit, more than 3 finger sandwiches and slightly better choice of cake, but if you like batenberg or red velvet then no issues. Used the spa, some guests had no etiquette, no shower, straight in to the pool. Leave the steam room, straight in to the jacuzzi and some from the sauna straight in to the pool. The room was spacious and comfy, let down by cobwebs which could be seen when the side table lights were on. Dinner was delicious so that made up for afternoon tea and certain guests.

Received a voucher for my biryhday to have a facial. Demi was very professional and did an excellent job- it was very relaxing and my skin feels lovely and refreshed will definitely be back soon!! Thanks Demi x

We stayed for two nights as part of a Groupon deal. Overall it was very good value for money. The two course meal that we had on the first night wasn't up to the standard of the rest of the hotel. The foos was luke warm rather than hot. We didn't complain as, being typically British, we don't like to have that awkward atmosphere. But I think this is a very basic thing that should be better. The room we stayed in (12) was fine. Nicely decorated, clean and enough space. But the bed was a very small double. The hotel breakfast was fine with all the usual offerings. All was cooked well and kept hot in steel trays. The location and appearance of the hotel were great. Really picturesque and peaceful. I'd recommend but think it could be even better if the basics mentioned were rectified.

As a family of three within a larger group for an evening meal, I should like to review our own experiences. Both my husband and son's meal was nice, but the peas that my son was given with his fish and chips were cold. As for myself, I had ordered the sausages and mustard mash, which was of poor quality and mostly unedible. The sausages were overcooked to the point of being really hard on the outside, and the potatoes were bland with no hint of mustard. I have to admit that having had to wait 15 minutes to be served my vegetables, I could not help but feel sorry for the three waitress who were working under so much pressure, for such a large crowd of diners. When I asked for coffee I was advised to go to the bar to buy it from a machine as the coffee they would serve me upstairs would be instant. For the standard I would have expected from a 4 star establishment, I could not in all honesty recommend this venue to anybody. The price of the meal was costly to say the least, and not being able to eat it was not by any means value for money. I will definatly not be going to eat in this hotel again.

Went Friday 15th March. I had an enjoyable day using the swimming pool, hot tub and sauna .After a lovely lunch I had a very relaxing facial and massage from Katie, who I highly recommend. Looking forward to my next treatment.

I have just had a wonderful body massage and a revitalising pro-collagen facial with Demi who is one of the best therapists I have ever come across. The Spa is welcoming, extremely clean, and the staff are professional and delightful. I always look forward to my treatments here.

Booked via a deal with offpeakluxury £150 for one night, £25 each towards evening meal, breakfast and a bottle of Prosecco on arrival. There were some redecorating works going on at the time and we received a free glass of wine each by way of apology. The work was not noisy or intrusive, so it was a nice gesture. The lady on reception was very friendly, as were the rest of the staff. The room itself was decent enough, smallish bed but fine for one night. Nice bathroom with toiletries and a good shower. Evening meal was served in the conservatory, the bread was delicious and steak was well cooked. The dessert menu was limited, 3 chocolate options and a cheesecake, fortunately we like chocolate and cheesecake. Breakfast was nice, shame there were no options such as eggs benedict or kippers, the sausages were tasty though and there was a good choice of cereals and pastries. Unfortunately we didn't get to use the spa, maybe next time!

My daughter and I visited the Spa yesterday for a deep cleansing facial and a dip in the pool and Afternoon tea. We were greeted by Katie who was very helpful, She also did my facial and was helpful with advice on products for my dry skin, we had use of the facilities and then were taken over to the sun room for Afternoon Tea, Maisie the Spa Manager took us over and was very helpful.. A brilliant day.

This is nothing more than a premier inn.... it was ordinary and nothing special. The staff were polite and Courteous but no warmth or effort. The accommodation was fine, clean and functioning but again lacked a feel for a ‘boutique' hotel and spa. The Spa was not even Luke warm ... the pool nor the jacuzzi were even warm... we had massages, the welcome was very bland, the therapist looked miserable and didn't interact and there was no offer of any towel, gown etc... the treatment room was also where you changed which was very odd... breakfast was very average on all fronts....bit of a let down all round... don't waste your money...

I was recommended by Maisie the spa manager to visit the spa. We were greated by the lovely receptionist Katie who helped us around the spa ensuring we knew everything we needed too know, we were made to feel relaxed and at ease as soon as we arrived. Recommended to all my work buddies who are excited too also come and make a visit. Big thank you!!

It was a lovely experience enjoying a hot stone massage with Demi. She was very gentle but massaged all those knotted parts very effectively, full marks! The oil she used went on very smoothly and the stones were at the perfect temperature to give that relaxing feeling. Demi has a lovely manner and we had a very pleasant chat as she worked.

The hotel is located in a nice rural environment. Of course you need a car to get anywhere. The atmosphere is old and they are currently refurbishing. For the inconvenience I got a drink voucher for every night stay which is appreciated. But the hotel is noisy due to old wooden floors, but very windy as the windows don't close will. Sitting in the restaurant, better bring your coat with you. The room is clean, need is good, but the bathroom is extremely noisy and broken. The fan is end of life and a tractor is silent....

Excellent clean and well-maintained spa facilites with pool, sauna, steam room and jacuzzi. My wife had booked us a package deal which included lunch and first-class relaxation massage and facial treatment which was provided by Demi.

After finding this gem that offers spa treatments until 8pm on a Wednesday it was hard to resist as I work Monday to Friday 9-5 this mid week treat was just what I needed. Receptionist Jas was welcoming and very helpful as it was our first time visiting. Lydia my masseuse has magic hands - I went for the hot stone massage which was unbelievable! The whole experience was just magic! Facilities are extreamly clean and I will 100% be back!

First time having treatment and using facilities at Lamphey Court Spa and Wow! I was recommended by Maisie and Greeted by the lovely Lydia & Jas who were very informative, they directed us to the pool while we waited for our treatment. I had the hot stone massage which was just other worldy, perfect way to unwind after a day at work. Spotlessly clean and I cannot wait to return as my friends. Can't reccommend enough !!

Today i had a facial with Demi the therapist . She is very professional ,explained every treatment in full. i will definately be returning .The treatment room was warm and well presented . I definately will be recommending my friends, a must to visit .

Just spent a lovely weekend at the hotel, our room was nice but basic but this is what we paid for. Breakfast and dinner were excellent all fresh produce and reasonably priced and of a great quality, staff were very well informed and gave an excellent service always available to answer any questions. If you want to book the spa do it early as it is very popular with a lovely pool, lots of beaches and beautiful scenery close by. Will certainly stay here again and recommend to my friends.

Had a lovely relaxing day (until 3pm) at the spa the treatment was fantastic, the food was lovely but could do with a healthy option... But around 3pm our "relaxing" day all changed when children came into the pool.... their shouting and jumping into the pool splashing everywhere was not the way we wanted to end a lovely relaxing spa day away from our children... Maybe you could tell people when they are booking a spa day that the pool is used by family's aswel as spa guests...

Excellent stay and lovely location for following busy of meetings. Cant speak highly enough of accommodation and leisure facility. Superb location that allows you to recharge - followed by excellent food serviced by very attentive staff.

We were looking for a romantic over night stay for Valentines, we noticed the Lamphey Court on a groupon promotion and as we adore the Pembrokeshire area, we thought this would be perfect. Read all the trip advisor reviews and was truly put off, I started looking elsewhere but I couldn't find anything that ticked the boxes. We decided to risk it, how glad we did! We were upgraded to a better suite in the the main building, a beautiful room with lovely views, it was quiet and comfortable, reception friendly but a little pushy to register our card to charge extra's to our room, I refused and it cause a litte moment. However we soon relaxed, enjoyed the spa / pool had a lovely evening. Great selection at breakfast followed by more spa enjoyment before checking out. One thing I would like to mention to management, Thank you for the upgrade it made our experience & Valentines night perfect but our room (8) being one of your best suites is tired, with cables showing, dry rot visable and tired bathroom had we paid full price for this room, I would have been very dissapointed. perhaps it's time to give these rooms a overhaul? Would I recommend? Yes... Would I return? Maybe

We had the most pleasant stay here as usual we were not disappointed. The spa and breakfast makes this such great value for money. Yes the actual building looks a bit tired in places but for us it's the character of the places that makes it. The staff are friendly and it's always clean and tidy. The proximity to barafundle bay and Stackpole quay makes it a great place for us to visit as after a good long walk you can relax in the spa.

We went to Lamphey Court and Spa as we will be getting married here in June. The hotel is under new management and what a difference it has made! The staff were really friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The room was very spacious and clean. The spa was fantastic and offered a range of treatments. We are hoping to have a spa day and lunch there in the summer. The food was fantastic and although we were having wedding tasters other guests meals look amazing as well! We are excited to return for our wedding in the summer and we were even talking about going back for our anniversary even though we are not married yet! The hotel is set in beautiful surroundings which we hope to make the most of on our wedding day!

Recently went for their spa and lunch offer. Reception staff were very friendly but the changing room is too small. There was a group in the changing room, which was way too small to accommodate everyone. The pool, jacuzzi and steam room were fine but trying to get dressed after was a challenge. There are only two showers which were either cold or scalding but there is nowhere to put shampoo or soap etc as there's not a hook or self in the cubicle. We also had lunch as part of the offer. Staff in the dining room were not at all organised and we had a long wait for drinks and had to ask for our order to be taken as they just left us sitting there. A very limited food offer was offered on this deal but there was no healthy eating options and most things were fried, battered or were stodgy cheese and pasta meals. Three very sweet puddings were available with no fresh fruit so if you have dietary restrictions or want something healthier, you might have to organise this is advance.

We booked this hotel through booking.com as it was listed as pet friendly however when I mentioned in my comments we were bring our dog I was told the only dog friendly rooms were in the coach house! A quick phone call sorted it out but I advise calling to book (as I'm not sure what would have happened if there had been no room?) Coach house was very spacious and perfect for our pup - not like staying in a hotel and yes dated but pleasant none the less. Beautiful area and friendly staff, us and the pooch will be back!

Checked in to what can only be described as a room fit for barnyard animals in the outside cottages. We thought we were staying in the main hotel, but no rooms were available. The manager was like something out of faulty towers and was running between a leaking roof in the restaurant to sorting out our compliant. The children were disappointed and due to the smell and dirty room we checked out immediately, spending 2 hours searching for another hotel,. I don't know what the main hotel rooms are like and didn't hang around long enough to taste the food or visit the spa, we were long gone by then.

We've just returned from a fantastic two night stay at Lamphey Court the staff were fantastic our room was very comfortable the spa facilities superb and the food both in the evening and breakfast was excellent overall I would rate staying here as 10 out of 10

Lovely hotel, we had adjoining rooms, both were very well presented. The beds were comfortable, free bottled water was a very nice touch. The Spa facilities were very nice, our boys loved the pool. Breakfast was very good too.

This country house is situated in lovely grounds and is a pleasure to drive up to. There is a good large car park. The interior is, in parts, a bit dated, some may say traditional, with patterned carpet and dark furniture...a bit of old, faded, bygone years! The room we had, 26, was large and had a very comfortable bed and nice white bed linen. The bathroom was large, with a four piece suite, bath with shower over, but needed a bit of TLC... The grout could do with whitening, the old rubber bath mat replacing, and some of the towels had seen better days. The radiator in our room did not work but was not a problem for us as we would have turned it off anyway. The cooked breakfast was of a good quality, hot and a reasonable portion size. There was enough choice of cereals, juice, fresh fruit and dried fruits and nuts. The staff here were all friendly, helpfully and happy in their work. We liked the hotel .. it's position, the service, the staff... and we would definitely visit again and recommend. However, what let's this hotel down is the little, irritating things ... no information about the leisure facilities or treatments in the room, no menu in the room, the clean but rust stained towel in the bathroom, the TV remote in need of new batteries, the hook for the curtain tie backs hanging out the wall, the very badly pulled over bed, the empty or missing condiments, no butter on tables at breakfast, being overcharged at check out. On their own little irritating matters but all together a problem! All these are easily rectified maintenance or service/training issues. There was one issue, that I think, should definitely be rectified.... In the mornings there was clean linen, in the corridor, on the floor. I don't like the thought of the linen on my bed being in contact with areas where outdoor shoes or animals had walked... who knows what people being in on their shoes? Please get a trolley! Or fetch linen as you need it, perhaps? From previous management comments I know what you will say. . Did we "approach anyone about these problems?" As I said. .. Each were irritating and not worth mentioning, except the over charging which was rectified, but all together they give the impression of a hotel that just needs a little bit more care and attention to promote it to another level!

Great location and beautiful grounds. Breakfast very good and quiet at night. Couple of things let it down though... the hot tub in the spa wasn't so hot! Luke warm at a push. Considering it's a spa hotel, the spa itself was mediocre. When running the water for the bath in the hotel room, the water was yellow, a little concerning! Other than this, we had a pleasant stay, staff were attentive.

Such a shame. We booked this hotel for a badly needed short break. We don't live that far away so it suited our needs as we didn't want to travel too far from home. The positives were the staff, all freindly and helpful and all our problems were taken on board and dealt with where ever possible but unfortunately we had to cut short our visit and go home a day early. We arrived on a cold, wet January day, were met by pleasant staff and shown our room. Clean, large room, comfy bed but no Guest Information File, two light bulbs didn't work, radiator didn't work. Rang Reception and they offered to fix it but by the time we had eaten it still wasn't working we decided to wait until the morning and ask again. Slept well apart from noise from the room upstairs. In the morning we had an enjoyable breakfast, fairly standard choice but well cooked, pleasant staff. We mentioned the radiator again and were offered another room and we accepted. We moved out to the converted stable block into one of the family suites. All seemed good, nice and warm, clean and pleasant. In the evening however, everything changed, the weather was terrible, pouring rain and we discovered a leaky gutter over our front door which poured water continuously onto our front step, the front door had a good two inch gap (why, we asked ourselves?!!) under it and throughout the night water was blown into our bedroom and onto the mat. The pouring water made a terrible noise so we were woken up on and off for most of the night. To top it all the people in the room above us made a terrible noise all night, bang, bang, crash (things in our room actually shook at one point) - this noise happened at least two or three times throughout the night. We thought about moving into the second bedroom (in our suite) but there was a leaky gutter on the other side of the building so that room was even noisier. This was when we decided to pack up and go home. I told the nice girl in Reception who was very apologetic, gave me a partial refund and promised to sort out the problems. It wasn't their fault that it was raining or that we had noisy people above us on both nights but the gutters definitely needed repairing or clearing out and the gap under the door needed fixing. It really was such a shame as the hotel is in a beautiful spot, it's a beautiful old house but it desperately needs some money spending on it.

We spent Christmas at this lovely hotel,on arrival everyone was so welcoming. We stayed in the coach house part as we were 3 adults, the rooms were really nice and spacious. The food was absolutely amazing, so much to eat during the stay, Christmas dinner was really nice. We also had a few spa treatments and used the pool,sauna,steamroom and Jacuzzi throughout our stay. This was the most relaxing christmas ever. Thoroughly enjoyed our Christmas break there. We enjoyed the hotel so much we have booked again in February for a night. Highly recommend.

lovely place to stay only thing was the menu was a little limited in the restaurant and i found that some things were expensive . The pool in the spa could have been warmer but would stay again . staff lovely

Just experienced a very pleasant 2 night stay and was not disappointed. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was the best we've had for some time, and the Spa facilites was well worth a visit.

We visited for 2 nights as a family of 6. We 2 rooms, one deluxe room for my sister and hubby and we ( 2 Ad, 2 teens) had room in the Coach House as we took our 6 month old Staffie. The whole team were very accommodating and nothing was too much trouble. The room was fine as you have to be mindful of the age of the beautiful manor. Coach House room is away from the main hotel but ideal for dogs, separate parking which is handy. I took blankets and towels and covers the chairs and bed, and wiped Lola down before entry into the room ( because we allow her on our sofa at home!) Water pressure was an issue but it is an old building so you have to take that into consideration. Lovely bedding and towels, tea, coffee and TV. Breakfast was ample, cooked breakfast was perfectly cooked and not greasy at all. Good quality coffee. Cereals are limited but you can find something to eat no problem. Bar service was great, good selection of gins, beers and ciders. Ladies in reception were lovely too. Food prices in the restaurant very reasonable and is delicious. Melanie was a delight on NYE, a real sweetie- thank you. Plenty of good walks with the dog, the grounds are absolutely beautiful and so well maintained. The castle grounds are glorious and safe and secure for walking the dog. Lamphey Hall Hotel at the entrance to the Manor turn off makes a welcome change to dine, food was fantastic. The Dial Inn is another alternative to stop for pub food and a drink before heading back to the Manor. The Spa was lovely too, absolutely spotless, great facilities. We spent a few hours there as a family, it was a perfect wind down from our drive and walk to Barafundle. It's a 15 m drive to Tenby and we enjoyed New Yr Day there. All in all a fabulous couple of days, thanks for a great stay. We will come back in the Spring :)

We have just got back from a lovely anniversay weekend at the Lamphey Court hotel. Driving along the long driveway first impression was wow, what a beautiful place. We had upgraded to a deluxe double which was in the main hotel at the front, overlooking the front lawns and driveway. Room 5 which has a very comfortable, huge bed was clean but much too warm for us! Also, the settee in the room needs replacing as it is really well worn, we sat on it and had great difficulty getting up again so only tried that once! It didnt help that neither of us are the most mobile! The bathroom is nice with plenty of room and the shower works well. Staff are really friendly, nothing is too much trouble. We ate in the conservatory restaurant which is again very nice, on two nights and the food was very good though be warned, portions are enormous. Breakfast is tasty and as far as we were concerned, has plenty of choice. There is plenty of parking. We would definitely recommend the Lamphey Court to friends and would stay again if we were in the area.

We did enjoy our stay. Really beautiful hotel and spa. Stunning place to relax and enjoy peaceful time. Room was great and we stayed at number 3. We was worried, because on of reviews was saying about noisy room. But it wasn't like that at all. We went for dinner in hotel restaurant and food was excellent. We wanted to change table, because table where we was seated was in doorway. It took time to get better table, but in the end they swapped table for us. We was already thinking to go to different restaurant. Only one thing made us uncomfortable, waiting staff was discussing something about us, because we didn't take first table. That's why didn't want to stay longer in restaurant. We will be back definitely. Our favourite part was spa. Thank you x

Spent an extended weekend in West Wales and stayed here for three nights. Its in a very peaceful location at the end of about a 1/2 mile long drive. Very nice and well kept grounds with ample car parking. Our room (No 27) was up some stairs and situated at the end of a long corridor. The room was of a good size, had a good bathroom, and was modern and clean. We did not experience any excess noise in this room and it had a limited view out the front window of the car park and grounds. The overall layout of the hotel was also very good, with a good size reception area and pleasant bar. The restaurant served excellent food, which was hot and tasty. Last but not least were the staff who were friendly and efficient, and made our stay very enjoyable. We would not hesitate returning again if in the area.

Loved the hotel and it's location, which is ideal for exploring South West Wales. Enjoyed a British breakfast and the wonderful swimming complex with steam room, jacuzzi, sauna and optional spa facilities. Lovely staff and a good ambience.

After calling before making our booking to ensure we paid for a room that would provide us the view from the front of the house, this wasn't what we got... Room 3 is directly above the kitchen, so there's a constant drone you can hear from the equipment running, and also the music the staff are listening to! Totally defeats the point of a hotel room where the primary aim is a peaceful nights sleep. We had to call down to reception to get the music turned down, and there was no apology from staff that night or the following morning on check-out. Equally, we made 2 reservations for the spa, just to find on arrival only one of these had been recorded! Luckily they were still able to accommodate us both, but I felt it was lucky we checked upon check-in.

Having read previous Reviews, I wondered how our visit would be on this occasion. ~ We have stayed at Lamphey Court a handful of times, over the last couple of years in the main Hotel Building. This visit in late November, the Reception Area, had a beautifully decorated Christmas Tree, and the downstairs of Hotel looked extremely festive ! During our stay, we found the Staff, without exception, very helpful and attentive as always. Our bedroom, was clean, warm and very comfortable. We had Dinner in the Conservatory. There was a varied Menu. When our food arrived, it was well presented, very tasty, and the portion sizes were good. In fact, we asked if the Chef that evening, could be complimented and congratulated. The following morning, we enjoyed a hearty Breakfast, in the newly refurbished Dining Room. Overall, we enjoyed and were pleased with our brief stay, and are already looking forward to returning in the New Year.

We had a three night b+b stay. The "superior" room we booked was musty and all our clothes took on the smell, the rooms had dead flies on the window sills and on the floors. The tv remote was missing and was told they "we haven't got a spare" so no tv. We made it to breakfast for two of the mornings, ordered one cooked breakfast, one bacon sandwich and two coffees, in spite of asking twice the coffees came as we finished breakfast. Breakfast was served in the conservatory and directly above our table was a spider's web with three dead flies hanging in it. We looked at the spa which seemed quite busy, the spa reception area again had a messy floor (twigs, leaves and grit) and again there were dead flies, we decided against using the facility on grounds of dubious hygiene. When we booked out we were asked for a further £50.00 for breakfast, fortunately I had my booking sheet which stated b+b. We would not revisit and would not recommend. This hotel charges premium rates and is currently probably only at two star condition.

Excellent staff and food. Rooms a bit dated and needs heating left on to be controlled by the customer rather than centrally. Staff soooo helpful. Lovely pool and spa but needs to be open longer for children to use. Will stay again.

Stayed here at short notice using a Red Letter Day voucher. The location is stunning and could be really special but needs some serious investment from Best Western Group - it currently has a 1970's feel about it. A real focus on the customer experience, to make their visit special, is also required eg dripping tap in bathroom, tv remote not working, no power through the shower, replace badly chipped OJ jug at breakfast, if you order food without chorizo, deliver it that way, have salt, pepper and vinegar on the table at evening meal etc. etc. Sad thing is, all the above are easily addressed with a lens on the customer experience. Spa was great, receptionist really personable and breakfast was good. We enjoyed our visit and, having read the previous reviews knew what we were getting, but that doesn't make it right. I hope some investment is made as this place could be really special.

Ok so we get that some of the rooms could really do with a make over. Looking at the reviews if like us you stayed in the main house or the deluxe rooms then you'll have had a nice stay, the family rooms or those out in the old stable block, perhaps shouldn't really be offered as accomodation?? Anyway we had a lovely time, the room was in a quiet location, nice comfortable clean room, only issue we had was the radiator in the bathroom was set to Gas Mark 6 or off. But closing the door seemed to keep the bedroom cool which was fine. We were a little alarmed by the hygiene rating, but understand a large part of this is down to infrastructure, rather than example of dangerous food being served up, so as all the staff seemed to be trying so hard, we really couldn't imagine anyone in the kitchen wouldn't be doing their utmost to ensure food was prepared safely, even if the kitchen was tired and desperately in need of a make over. However the location of the hotel was perfect, stunning empty beaches a few miles away, glorious coastal walks, tonnes of stuff to go and see and each morning Claire who served breakfast would update us on the weather, what was god to go and see and also the progress her builders at home were making! It was the friendliness of the staff that really made the place for us. We felt very relaxed and managed to unwind almost instantly. The real jewel for us was the spa, the pool was beautiful, and largely empty, and a few hours each day was child free (mainly evenings and lunchtime I think) and heated perfectly for swimming rather than bobbing around. The gym area was also quiet well equipped and managed to keep up with my exercise programme (mostly!).... We opted for the inclusive evening meal and breakfast package, which worked out extremely good value. The food was basic, but well cooked, very filling and well presented. Perfect if you fancied like me a few days off the diet and wanted comfort food while on holiday. In summary, this hotel isn't going to be 100% perfect on every detail, it feels more like a nice guest house really with staff trying everso hard to make your stay enjoyable. We will certainly be back in the spring at these prices.

We recently visited bluestone park for a mid-week break and to avoid travelling back.in the friday traffic we booked a night at lamphey best western. At first glance the hotel looked great. But we were a little shocked at the hygiene rating 1 out of 5! Which my girlfrind spotted at the entrance... I dont mean to sound ridiculous but seeing as my local kebab shops (kent) seem to all manage 4/5 and they don't seem always the cleanest of places this made me steer clear of the breakfast which I'd already paid for thus dampening the experience. After weighing up options the potential of getting sickness bug or something seemed real (understand this is just our opinion, but isnt worth the risk for a pregnant girlfriend and a 2 year old.) Otherwise, the room was comfortable yet could do with refreshing. And it did seem to have a problem with dead flys coming from the toilet fan. But was otherwise very clean On the plus side,The spa area was clean and the staff all seemed very friendly. Maybe we just read too much into the poor hygiene rating sign.

Stay two nights during roundtrip Wales. Very nice hotel at a great location. A little touch-up should improve to outlook. Very spacious room and bathroom, shower in the bath, replacement in a walk-in shower should improve the safety. Very friendly personnel. The restaurant is very good for dinner and serve very good and tasty meals. The breakfast is simple and not very exciting. For relaxing there is a welness centre with a nice swimming pool

Myself and my husband booked a night away with friends. We had a fabulous time, we used the pool and spa facilities and I had a hot stone massage which was so so good. Our room was great, clean spacious and very comfy. Our evening meal was stunning, the food was so good, so we'll presented and was extremely tasty we thoroughly enjoyed. All the staff were extremely friendly and customer services was first class.

The room decor was a little dated but everything was very clean warm and comfortable. Had it have been recently refurbished we would have had to pay much more!Excellent pool, sauna and steam room.The cost for the break was very inexpensive and we were able to take our dog so t sum up 10 out of 10 from me. The chap in the bar (sorry I forget his name) went out of his way to help and offered great ideas for walks and visits etc. made our stay even better.

Been here numerous amount of times for food and I have to say, I disagree with previous posts on here. Food is always well presented and always tastes as good as it looks. Service is brill, not only professional but friendly and helpful. We will be back again soon

I recently booked a room at the Lamphey Court Hotel with my partner and was impressed with the quality of service from the beginning. We decided to wake up early to eat breakfast and were greeted by enthusiastic and energetic staff, which is hard to find in Pembrokeshire. We were also pleasently surprised at the quality of food for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The staff were superb and always smiling, especially the hotel manager and waiting staff. There was also one young man named Thomas who wouldn't stop making me laugh and was super helpful. Couldn't recommend enough!

I visited with my daughter as a treat to celebrate her university place, we were warmly greeted by a young waiter and shown to the conservatory which is beautiful and has amazing views. The afternoon tea itself was beautifully presented so much of it we had to take some home with us ! Most importantly we were taken care of throughout and our tea pot kept topped up. Would definitely recommend and return.

Firstly a hygiene rating of 1. When queried why was told they had had it for a few weeks (was actually at least 10 weeks, issued in August) and the reason was maintenance and labelling. Not a great start to a break. If you have a food allergy beware, as the staff do not have a clue if the bread contained nuts. If you like, Pasta you will love their dish, you will be served a huge bowl of slop. Never been so frustrated with what should have been a simple enough dish. If the feedback from management is “Why didn't you say something at the time?” I would reply, to whom? There is clearly no one in charge. If you want a drink in the restaurant be prepared to wait until they have finished talking or using phones round the corner and then you may be able to get their attention to realise they either have not taken your order or forgot to get it. The pool was not clean (you can tell by the dirt in the corners at the bottom) and the toilet facilities in there were disgusting on occasion. The positive. The more mature member of staff who ran the breakfast room, superb. She is an example of how all staff should be there. Friendly, proactive and efficient. The breakfast as well was itself lovely. The simple fact is the staff who work in the afternoons/evenings are not managed. A disappointing experience when it really could have been an amazing one.

The building is lovely and whilst the bathroom was dated, the room was ok. But the service was shocking!! All the staff came across as nice people but didn't have a clue. No leadership, no management. Staff were on their phones during evening service, the receptionist had gone for a smoke during checkout, so we all had to wait, as the person left to man the desk didn't have a password. NIce people but shouldn't be left in charge of a hotel. The bar had run out of all lager expect a bottle lager, which they had 2 of. We arrived to find that the food hygiene rating was a 1. I questioned this on check-in and was told it was due to a maintainence issue. Food was actually ok 1st night, but due to lack of service, we eat elsewhere the 2nd night and bumped into a lot of other guests in the same restaurant, all with the same feedback. Very disappointed and would never stay there again. Sorry

Visited this lovely hotel in October. Fantastic building and grounds and the interior decoration suits the period beautifully. We ate in the restaurant on several occasions, each time enjoying our meals and well looked after by friendly staff. The spa is just georgeous; pool, jacuzzi, steam room, sauna and any treatment you could wish for. I can highly recommend this hotel if you are visiting the area or simply fancy a weekend away!

We had a lovely weekend break celebrating my daughter's 21st Birthday. Our rooms were super spacious and clean. The food at breakfast and dinner were very good and although there were short waits, nothing major. We used the spa facilities and all had a treatment. Certainly not the best massage I have had and not much customer skills from girls there. Would suggest maybe some door closers on the doors as when you are having a relaxing massage you don't want to hear constant banging doors.

Just awful shame as it could have been better room was ok but the window would not open just too long to wait for or meals evening meals came bottom of the list shame you don't have a lift really should bring this hotel up to date

A recent weekend visit with my young family. We were well looked after throughout our stay. Our room was comfortable and quiet. The spa was amazing, great gym & the children loved swimming everyday! The food was delicious every evening. Great staff always welcoming. Highly recommended this hotel and its idyllic setting and impressive grounds.

Very good location, very comfortable rooms with everything you need. Spa and gym very well equipped with very friendly staff.The hotel has a lot of character blended with some modern touches. The grounds are beautiful ideal for walkers.

This hotel needs a complete revamp. It offers studio accommotation set off from the main building. We had to climb outside steps to access the room. The steps had not been brushed for some while and weeds were growing out of the tiles. The outside door was shabby and the inner door needed a coat of paint. The room size is good but the carpet needs replacing. The shower was more like a watering can. When you switched on the wash basin taps the shower stopped! Most odd. We have stayed in much better 3 star hotels and the only reason for its rating, I believe, is the pool area which is excellent. When you leave the upper rooms there is no railing to prevent you falling over the balcony. A disaster for children. Not worthy of a BW brand.

Had a family day out and decided last minute to have a Sunday roast dinner after a walk on the beach. As others have said, the setting in stunning and the roast was superb and enjoyed by all. Will definitely go again as soon as possible.

I purchased a package via travel zoo for my husband for his birthday which we took recently. We were both delighted with the complete package - the facial was define, access to the pool, sauna, jacuzzi and steam room was excellent, as was the scrumptious afternoon tea which was plentiful. I have to say the staff in the spa and the restaurant were first class and nothing was too much trouble and they had the time of day to have a chat too. Thanks. We will be back again soon and wouldn't hesitate to recommend a visit. It is in such a lovely peaceful location too.

My partner my daughter and I had supper here last night. Just wanted to say thank you to Novella for looking after us throughout. I had the burger and it was delicious. My daughter had the child's homemade spaghetti meatballs..they really are delicious. My partner had the melt in your mouth land.. delivered personally by the chef! I have eaten here many times and never had any issues with food. The location and setting are very relaxing and I love to have a glass of wine and enjoy it all whilst I wait for my food.

Took advantage of a great summer in the UK, we love this part of the world and stayed a couple of years ago in a family room so booked the same again even phoned to confirm our booking the week before our trip, so running late we decided to phone ahead book a table and were informed we had a suite and not a family room, alarm bells were now ringing we could not find anywhere else with our needs so we rocked up not impressed,went to the pool for a limited swim due to children not allowed to swim at certain times, my wife managed to get two small twin rooms which we ended up being split up parent and child in each room. Looking at the rooms they were really tired my room had a broken glass panel in the window with a large shard missing, looking at other peoples pics the furniture is all damaged same for the light fittings, nice new bathroom extractor was more like a hovercraft motor as it was not screwed up tight to the ceiling. Evening meal well like other family visitors WHY is their no kids menu !!!!!! After three choices of wine we finally got a bottle as the rest were not in stock, reason we only keep a few bottles of each ?,my wife's steak was poor not sure what the welsh beef heard does but it must spend a lot of time asleep, my pasta dish was so hot the chilli oil is for seasoning not as a cooking medium,my daughter had soup to start not sure what she was supposed to eat it with because we had no soup spoons, I asked the couple next to us if they had one as the staff did not come back for 5 mins, the old guy was laughing on the next table as he passed me one that they had a spare, please basics Lamphey ( FAULTY TOWERS ) not expecting the hanging gardens of babylon just a spoon... So we did the non British thing at every time we encountered a problem and complained, we tried to speak with the manager but yeah no chance their at the end of our stay, so we left our email address for him and yes not a whisper sorry fella if you have moved on, so here I sit doing you a review on your poor booking,food,wine list, kids menu,swim arrangements oh yes and poor room quality.... staying again no never rather spend more and stay in a cottage locally for the weekend

We stayed at this hotel a few years ago and decided to book another weekend with family in tow. It was a fairly expensive one night away so we were expecting good things . From the outset we all agreed it was immaculate in our rooms. We are all fussy and we're not disappointed. We used the spa which was great and had a tasty evening dinner and plentiful breakfast. Food was very nice, hot and nicely served. It took a while to come. and we seemed to wait a while for drinks, but in the end all good. We had a dog friendly room with a sofa bed which has to be the worst nights sleep ever for comfort.Please dispose of these sofa beds they are not good! The staff were ALL lovely and couldn't do more for you. We were a bit shocked about the food hygiene posters but all I can say what we saw, and ate. We had a great time with the dog with us. For all those who want to take a dog you can exercise the dog in the castle grounds opposite the hotel entrance. Just go down the small lane and there is a gate half way down on the right which is the entrance to the ruins. It's fantastic to exercise the dog within a safe walled environment. We were the only ones in there on all occasions. The good pet owner conditions apply of course! All in all a lovely weekend.

Never again the room was dirty shabby and old fashioned,the heating was faulty and the bedroom was like a sauna would not turn down the hotel turned it off but came back on in the early hours forcing us up at 6:00 am .the bed was broken the settee I would not have picked out of a skip the door did not shut properly leavings a big gap to let the wind blow in and frame was so dirty it could not have been cleaned for a very long time the shower head was so dirty the water barely came out I didn't eat in the restaurant after seeing the 1 star rating for hygiene

It is 1. The hotel is in a great spot, the staff are helpful, but the food is poor, menu is not in keeping with style of property. Rooms are tired and need refurbishment. Breakfast is fine though scrambled eggs cooked a la ping. I suggest a call to the hotel regarding breaches of the 1990 food safety act prior to booking.

Location Hotel is located is a picturesque countryside spot down a long lane with fields of sheep surrounding it. The local town of Pembroke is about 5 min drive away or two miles. They have a fantastic large Castle. Tenby is about 15-20minutes drive away. Fishguard / St. David an hour drive with Swansea a little longer. Within walking distance is an old ruins of a 17th century or older mansion which was interesting to walk around Room Room was upstairs in the coach house, a side building with mostly studio apartments on ground floor. Mine upstairs was a large comfortable room with windows all around. Two single beds put together to make a double, comfortable except for the terrible pillows. Unplugged alarm clock presented on bed side table & lamps either side. A small wooden make up glass top desk & mirror with plenty of plug sockets to work from. Large flat screen tv with free-view Is offered & worked well. Room also offers a kettle with sachets & two bottled water. Recommend to bring your own coffee, unless you like Kenco. The room also offers an armchair & sort of fold out chair mattress thing that I guess could be pulled out into a single bed, say for a young child. Large wardrobe with ironing board but no fridge & no safe. Bathroom was spacious with newly fitted oval bath with shower attachment. Plus a bidet. Quite nice amenities of shower gel & body lotion that were hotel branded. Overall room was larger than expected & somewhat cosy with a kind of budget Laura Ashley theme wall paper and curtains. Cleanish and carpeted. Facilities The hotel offers free WiFi that worked ok , requires signing up. Catering facilities include a dreary lounge bar & restaurant. Didn't enjoy the dinner, unimaginative theme of menu that basically left me deprest & thinking, Gordan Ramsay please go there. Food to be fair was edible just bland lack of flavour, even fish & chip though it seemed to excite some of the senior citizens in the room. Weirdly located in a conservatory room with marble garden tables without tablecloths. Zero enthusiasm from waiters. Saying that breakfast is better & in a far nicer dining room that would suit dinner better. Breakfast includes is an ala carte menu that includes porridge, full English, pancakes or salmon scramble. Full English was ok, not bad not great, sort of like wetherspoons. cereals, toast & fruit on a buffet. Leisure facilities are in a dedicated building with a small gym (both cardio & weights rooms) plus a small swimming pool, jacuzzi, steam room but sauna that has a sign saying not working for feasible future. All clean & really nice facilities that also includes an Elemis spa for manicures to massages. But didn't try. Also tennis court on grounds. Plus free parking spaces possible in front of your room for easy exit. Gym is open to public membership so can be busy. Staff Staff are alright, friendly reception that are quite helpful with tourist information related questions & all seemed enthusiastic to help. Older staff in restaurant have some degree of hospitality but zero skills from the younger Male staff. Overall it's an ok hotel just that, main benefit is nice quiet location in the fields with free parking & your dog can stay inside room. Nice pool & steam room. But don't expect luxury in room & if you enjoy dining, I'd suggest heading out.

We stayed at the Lamphey Court Hotel as we were spending a few days in Pembrokeshire and wanted a hotel that had an indoor pool. On first impressions, the hotel looked good. The drive up to it is pretty impressive and you can see how the place used to be home to the local gentry. Once you get inside the room however, things change somewhat. As we have two young(ish) children, we were put in the studio block - a group of rooms away from the main house. Upon entering the room, we were immediately struck by the aroma. Fusty is not the word. The room smelt like it hadn't been used - or cleaned - for 20 years! The fittings were tired, the beds were soft. In short, the room was a massive disappointment (especially after we'd travelled 255 miles to get there!) I WILL praise the pool and spa area, which we then went to with the kids. Although the pool was VERY cold (I was told the temperature couldn't be turned up any higher!) it was perfectly serviceable and a reasonable size. The spa was not working (a spa member told me it had been out of action for several weeks) but the steam room was very good. The changing rooms were a bit hit and miss. Hit: the showers, which were hot and had shower gel. Miss: the lack of space - with just one changing room in the men's and very little space to get changed apart from that! (Note: it's worth pointing out that, if you have children, the swimming pool is actually part of a member's only spa complex. Children can swim, but only at certain times. I actually felt a bit sorry for the members as they tried their best to swim up and down, whilst my two kids were shouting and generally being crazy. Also worth noting that most of the members seemed incredibly tolerant of children and were actually very friendly!) The hotel also comes up short in terms of dining - or rather, the lack of it! We had paid a higher rate to eat there in the evening, as we thought it would be easier than having to drive around looking for places with two hungry children in tow. After a long drive and a nice swim, we were all set to eat there on the first evening, before my wife received a call from reception informing her that the kitchen 'had no gas' and so dinner could not be prepared that night. Disappointing? Extremely. Yes, these things happen, but read other reviews on here and you'll see that apparently this isn't necessarily an isolated experience. In the event, things worked out extremely well, as we ate at the wonderful Lamphey Hall Hotel the first and second nights, which was great value, absolutely delicious, with a wonderful ambience and fabulous service! Perhaps naturally, when my wife was frantically looking for alternative places to eat the first night, she stumbled upon a few negative reviews of the Lamphey Court Hotel - which led her to see that they have actually been renovating their rooms for a while now. When we mentioned this to reception, we were told that the room we were in HADN'T been renovated at that point - bad luck for us! However, to be fair to the hotel (and, in particular, Catherine, who sorts out all the bookings) they did move us to a nicer room for our second and third nights. NOT a refurbished room I hasten to add, but a nicer room all the same. (Note: the room we were moved into was upstairs in the Studio block. I believe it was room 232 or 237. When I left the room for the first time to go to the car, I nearly fell over the edge of the stairwell outside! In my opinion, the wall is nowhere near high enough and I am amazed that no one - particularly children - has ever been killed or seriously injured. It's probably about 30 feet to the car park below. I did mention this to the lady on reception and think it's something the hotel needs to get sorted as a matter of urgency - they really do need either a higher wall or some kind of barrier). Another positive was the breakfast. Full English (Welsh?!) was very good and the choice of cereals, cheese, meats, fruit etc. was pretty good. Not incredible, but not too bad. (Could do with a few pastries, though.) Interesting point: when I was sitting in the steam room, the lady I got talking to told me that the owner of the hotel lives in Switzerland. From what I can gather, he's not terribly 'hands on' which, in my opinion, is not a good thing. I believe that he has a potentially wonderful hotel on his hands but needs to a) invest heavily in the rooms, restaurant and spa area and b) take more of an interest in his investment. It's not super cheap to stay there and, for the money, ALL the rooms should be renovated, it should not take WEEKS to fix the sauna and the restaurant should never have 'no gas'! In conclusion, I would recommend this hotel, but with a heavy caveat. Be aware of the shortcomings and check beforehand whether or not you have a refurbished room. And also check if the sauna is fully operational! Finally, I would like to say a word for Lee, the Manager. He is a very nice chap and I believe he is trying his best under what are trying circumstances. He took my comments on board when I was checking out and I think he does his best without a lot of support from the man that owns the place. Not a terrible hotel. But could be a whole lot better.

Normally I am never keen on a great western hotel but I thought for one night just go for it as was on the way on our road trip to Pembrokeshire. A honest review.. the place is better than I thought it would be. The rooms were fine. Just need refreshing as rooms look a little tired. The door key wouldn't work several of times. The nice lady at reception helped resolved the issue. The restaurant food stopped serving just before 9pm so we could not sample their evening food. We arrived late and settled in rooms late so missed the evening meal here. Happy to let us deliver a take away from outside as tired and hungry. Slept like a log. Breakfast was nice. The helpful lady was back again with a nice girl too to help out so we got a nice breakfast. We decided to sample the spa and pool. The boys like it and had a good swim and sat in jacuzzi. They have kids times to go in the pool so gave them opportunity to sample everything without other adults being irritated with them. So check out the children times when they can swim. Overall the grounds and the poeple and service was a better great western then usual! I can see the potential in this place to make it wow but it's a three star place so they provided this.

Room OK, but bathroom could definitely do with a makeover. Lovely location with very pleasant grounds. Restsaurant was quite good as regards quality of food though menu was very limited and one option was not available on one evening which didn't help. Staff were amazingly friendly and helpful, but it was obvious that they were understaffed. Breakfast was first class-freshly cooked and to a very high standard. All in all we enjoyed our stay,but it could have been much better with a little more attention to detail.

Lovely rustic Hotel in large grounds with a modern spa in separate building. Room was large and clean with a comfortable bed. Large bath with integrated shower and plenty of hot water. There is no lift and corridors have plenty of steps and changes of direction as you would expect in an old mansion house, so those with mobility issues should request ground floor accommodation or choose somewhere different. Spa was great and modern with good size pool and steam room although sauna was out of order during our stay. Restaurant food was good but pricey, waiting staff seemed a bit inexperienced but got there in the end. Bar area was disappointing and could do with a refresh. On the whole a typical Best Western hotel average with pros and cons, competitively priced.

We found the staff very friendly we did not enjoy ourselves there were a lot of stairs no lifts as being disabled found it very hard to get around also had to eat in the conservatory as dining room was closed (more steps) it was very Hot in the evening we had a nice room with a nice view but large bush outside window could not enjoy, and on our last day the wardrobe partly collapsed on my wife hurting her arm the gave us a bottle of wine for the wardrobe lol, on the other hand the Spar was Brilliant and they were very friendly

Called into Llamphey Court today for old times sake as we have stayed there many times and went there for our honeymoon 25 years ago. It was such a shame to see how sad it has become. It was very dusty in the lounge and the place has definitely lost its sparkle! We ordered coffees and sandwiches. The coffees arrived but after sitting for approximately an hour we got fed up of waiting for the sandwiches and decided to leave. I checked the dining room and there weren't many people in there eating so they weren't exactly pushed! It's obvious they don't have enough staff - there appeared to be only two on duty! It was so disappointing - we're just pleased we didn't decide to stay there for our Anniversary!

We spent a family week away here. The staff were friendly and helpful and we appreciated the time they took to recommend where we should visit and sharing their love of Pembrokeshire. The decor is a bit tired but it is good value for money considering the pool, setting, location and generous size of the family rooms.

We stayed here for 1 night and we did the "short & sweet package" which included a spa treatment. We booked in & went to our room, there was a musty old smell in the corridor, we entered our room & again there was a musty smell. The shower curtain was dirty, but overall the cleanliness of the bathroom was good. The windows in the room were dirty & the voile curtains were ripped. We went to the spa for our treatments, i had a hot stone massage & im sure the therapist dropped a stone on my head, but never having this treatment before i wasnt sure if this was the norm !!!!! We went into the pool following our treatments & the temperature of the room was cold as was the water in the pool, we overheard other residents complaining of the temperature but the receptionist at the spa said that it was within normal limits, the sauna wasn't working either!!!!! When we got back to the room we had a message on our mobile phone to say that we would be unable to have dinner that evening as there was a issue with the gas stoves & that the staff would be happy to recommend somewhere else for dinner & that we would be refunded our dinner allowance, bearing in mind we received the message 90 minutes before we were supposed to have dinner. Breakfast was very good & there was a good selection of choice. The best thing about this hotel is its location, its set within beautiful surroundings & is well located if you want to explore areas such as Tenby or Pembroke. When we were checking out we gave the receptionist a list of complaints but whether they take note is yet to be seen, i also hasten to add we were not the only ones to complain this weekend either !!!!! This hotel is in desperate need of love & attention & could be amazing should it receive both of these. Dont think we will return & if im honest its put us off going to a Best western in the future.

The Hotel location and B&B facilities are fine, breakfast was good but within our weeks stay the restaurant performed badly and maintenance issues were not picked up and resolved. Overall a good venue but, unless it gets sorted , expect to spend a long time in the restaurant.

Good parking facilities. The hotel was very central for visiting many of the local attractions.. The room was large enough and comfortable with the usual facilities although no fridge. To us, we felt that the room was just a little tired and needed some refurbishment. it was nice to see that this was being carried out starting off with new carpets throughout. There was some issue with the ?toilet fan which made a horribly loud nose when the light was switched on in the bathroom. We booked for dinner, b & b for 4 days. The bar was good and the prices although not cheap were reasonable and tended to be very busy perhaps because the TV was showing the World Cup. We felt that the hotel catered for tradesmen and businessmen although there were some couple. Dinner was OK if you had a hearty appetite (the steak was huge). however the food was a long way from fine dining. We found that although paying for dinner b and b that we were limited to £25 for 3 courses, but, we struggled to find 2 courses under that amount. The wine list was reasonably priced but not cheap. The first night the staff struggled to serve dinner probably due to England playing football and an inordinate amount of bar meals being served for that reason. The other nights the service was fine. Overall the staff were very friendly and helpful. I would stay there again but I would probably not book dinner every night.

I booked the spa day for myself and 2 othe friends for a weekend in April. We looked online at the brochure and decided to go for the revive package which at the time was advertised as 25 minute neck, back and shoulder massage. Upon arrival we filled in our health questionnaire stated our treatment and placed our order for dinner. We were taken over to the restaurant at 12pm, but we had a long wait for someone to come and ask would we like any drinks. When our drinks finally arrived we waited for our food only to find the chicken missing from the chicken carbonara and an unusual tasting penne pasta. After wasting around an hour and a half for food, we finally made our way back over to the spa. The therapist called each of us individually for our treatments for her to be extremely rude and say she didn't understand why we decided to change our treatments from facials to massages. We were all extremely confused by this after discussing our treatments with the receptionist a few days before and not once did they mention we'd changed our treatments. The massage was okay but I didn't feel overly relaxed after the way I was spoken to. After all 3 of us had had our treatments I found that both my friends had the same experience. Unhappy with the experience overall and will look at visiting other spas in Pembrokeshire in the future.

Excellent hotel in a wonderful location, touch of class and with much history, superb bed was a bit small, but that's the only criticism, would seek out Best Western in the future on the strength of this visit

Stayed at the hotel for a night with my wife and three teenagers. We had three rooms, 1in the West Wing overlooking the conservatory and spa entrance. Room was spotless, bed was so comfy and the bathroom bright and spacious. One East wing room overlooked the apple trees and was spacious, clean and perfect for the girls. The single room, also in the East Wing, for our son was just the job, spotless, big tv and spacious enough for one. We used the spa which was amazing, good sized pool with large separate jacuzzi and a steam room. All very good and the changing rooms were spotlessly clean. Only compliant would be about another guest who complained about a young family group who who happily playing in the pool during the allotted family time. The staff member was very patient and explained the arrangements but no pleasing some people. We had an evening meal which was delicious, i'd especially recommend the mussels and would have loved some more focaccia, next time I'll be sure to request some. We had fish which was beautifully cooked and reasonably priced, the children had either steak which was at the high end of the price range but in fairness was enormous and very tender or the burger which was also delicious and great value. Breakfast was lovely and the bagel options were well received so thanks to the chef for doing those. The salmon portion was massive but meant we didn't need lunch! All in all a great overnight stay and we will return but next time as a couple and we'll take more time to enjoy the grounds. Thanks to the staff especially the guy in the bar during the Friday afternoon who coped so well with a large family group and the other guests. Credit to him and all the team who looked after us. This is my first review of any place we've stayed at but we all loved it so much I felt I had to.

A large group of us stayed at this hotel for a surprise birthday. Fab place and fab staff. So welcoming and couldn't do enough for us. Food was excellent. We stayed in a family room where there was a field of sheep behind the building which our daughter thought was great. We were all mixed ages old and young. We all thoroughly enjoyed. Ignore the negative comments some people just haven't got anything better to do than nit pick.

As I grew in Wales, I've never been tempted to holiday there but with the amazing weather we've been having in the UK this year, we decided to have a little break away for our wedding anniversary. The Lamphey Court Hotel looked perfect as we were looking for a spa and some relaxation. The pool and spa facilities were amazing, clean, not too busy and super relaxing! We used the tennis courts (which are free and they supply balls and rackets) and we ate lunch there most days, which was nice, great coffee! We stayed 3 nights in total - the hotel being so close to so many lovely beaches meant we had some day trips in Tenby and Freshwater East and still managed to make the most of the hotel facilities. The only couple of downsides, which were actually what we had read on Tripadvisor before visiting - is that the rooms need a bit of modernising, they are clean and tidy but could do with a bit of TLC. We also ate at the hotel on the first night as arrived late and wanted to relax, we didn't eat there again as the order got a little messed up and the evening food was way too over priced! But the daytime menu is really good. Overall, the hotel is set in a beautiful location and we got the relaxation we needed! Plus some amazing weather. Would definitely stay there again and I'm now sold on holidays in Wales :)
