Best Western Plus Orillia Hotel

Recently stayed at this hotel and I rate it at a 5 because of the cleanliness, spotless rooms, comfortable beds and pillows, but most of all the phenomenal Staff at this hotel. I can only mention the names I can recall but I certainly 5/5 rating is consistent with the staff. From Checkin in with Ben, and Donna who treated me like I was their only guest when in actuality they were both extremely busy. But there is a lady that stand out, at the top of the list. She comes to work at 230 am!!, and prepares the food that we so value in the mornings of our stay. Her name and her partners name is Geri and partner at work Tina. Thank you ladies. Fantastic hot food. And your friendly welcome and big smile. Thank you so much. Great hotel.

We were staying there because of a family emergency. The accommodations were amazing and the staff were incredibly helpful. When my partially disabled son could not make it down in time for breakfast the staff were kind enough to provide me with a take out box so I could take his breakfast up to him. They were extremely considerate of our circumstances.

Excellent place to stay and staff are very professional and accommodating . Hotel in very safe and beautiful area for walking, excellent place for families and family activities. Food establishments close by.

Broken heat called at 3:00 am to see if they could help us, said No. Having problems with a few rooms with same issue over the week. Why book those rooms?... said to call Manager in Morning at checkout. Manager very unhelpful, in fact smirking and unfreindly. Note: night staff super nice. Day Manager Reduced room rate by $20.00 and said cant help you. Call owner.

Quick check in with with a smile when checked in, the king bed was a dream had lots pillows and lots of blankets for layers, nice big couch was very comfy, environment was clean wish there was a pool but hot tub was nice

We spent one night at this hotel after a concert at Casinorama. Great location, great breakfast and great staff but terrible parking situation. We drove to the casino and couldn't find a parking spot when we returned to the hotel. The parking lot had been ploughed and some parking spots were blocked with snow. The front desk staff advised us we couldn't park in certain areas but did approve one spot. The next morning people were parked everywhere that we were told we couldn't park. The parking situation really needs to be addressed. There didn't appear to be enough spots for all the rooms in the hotel even if there wasn't snow.

Staff were wonderful, room was nice and very clean. The bed was extremely comfortable. Loved the whirlpool tub and gas fireplace. Can't beat the included breakfast which offered excellent options! The shuttle service to the casino was amazing. I would definitely recommend and plan on returning.

There was NOTHING negative to say about this facility,,,from checkin with DONNA to checkout everything was top drawer. The included breakfast was a pleasant and enjoyable experience.....it will be something we look forward to at nect stay.

We had 3 nights at Couchiching Point in Orillia. Staff were fantastic. The accommodations were also great except 1 room had a broken A/C. Staff were so fantastic to address the problem.. We had a wonderful time, and look forward to the next visit!

My Dad lives just down the road and this is where I always stay when in town. The hotel is not super fancy, but it is in good shape. The location is great, very close to the trail and the beautiful park. The breakfast is really good and is a sellign feature of this place. The staff is always friendly and I always feel welcome.

This is a nice, clean quiet hotel a little further off the main part of town but definitely worth the drive. It is surrounded by beautiful walking trails along the lake and if you desire that takes you right to the main beach 6km away. Large hot breakfast buffet included.

Best Western Couchiching on Atherly Road is central to everything your heart desires. There is no swimming pool so walked to Tudhope Park along the trail that is right behind the back four story area. All staff were exceptional, friendly, welcoming and compassionate. Simmons Beautyrest Queen bed provided an exceptional deep rest.

This was a girl's get away trip and staying here made it very unstressful. No unfriendly surprises. Clean and quiet. Located near restaurants and gasoline which was fantastic so we did not have to worry about finding a gas station.

Staff was very friendly and genuinely cared about our stay. Hot breakfast was great. Rooms were spacious and beds were very comfortable, attractions were close by easy to get to from the hotel. I would definately stay then again !

Updated hotel, lots of parking. Beautiful large room for breakfast area. Great variety of food for breakfast. Location is near the lake but not ideal from main hwy. Very friendly staff. Good value in off season.

We stayed overnight while attending a show at the casino. The check-in staff was friendly and efficient. The room was clean and updated. The bed was comfortable. The breakfast was included and had a large selection of anything you would want for breakfast. Overall it was a very decent place to stay.

Checkin was great - new woman at front desk was super kind, helpful and accommodating. She was great with my teens as well! The room was good, clean, spacious. Toilet should be replaced. The worst - absolute worst- is their breakfast voucher system. You are made to feel like a criminal not having them on you. They don't ask for it at the door, and not being used to it at other hotel chains, it's not something you think of. …but being approached while eating, in the morning, and being made to feel like you're stealing food is downright offensive. And being given a speech on how you shouldn't be there without them, you can't be fed without them in front of other guests is terrible. To add to it, each person in the family eats at different times because of athletics. I accompanied each kid to the restaurant at different times and I was told I should have only gone once - I ate once and had three coffees. The kicker is, when I went back to give the vouchers at closing, all the personnel were smiling and chirping about breakfast time - so are policing your guests so there is ample food for your employees? Now I understand the indifference of the guy at the front desk - he was the first one to get his free breakfast. I'd rather pay more money at Marriott where I've not had to deal with lectures in the morning.

Exceptionally friendly staff! Very clean facility & very comfortable beds!! We chose this hotel as they offer a shuttle service to Casino Rama for concerts with several times both going there & returning!!!

We love staying at this Best Western Inn - The Front Desk Staff remember you by name and always provide a warm welcome! The hot breakfast is also the best we have had in a Best Western since COVID restrictions were removed. Allowing for self-serve hot entrees, and eating in the restaurant versus taking a tray if you prefer eating in a dining room!

We booked in for the weekend to catch a show at Casino Rama. Our room was perfect - very clean, comfy beds and well appointed. And, breakfast was included too which made it a great value. But it's the staff who really made a difference. A special shoutout to Ben from the front desk who overheard me saying I needed a cup of coffee and he appeared with one! Every staff member we met made us feel like a valued guest. Highly recommend.

Beds were comfortable, room smell a little musty, phone lines were down no working phones, key pads at entrances were all broken so had to go into front door only and walk the stairs, no one at the front desk for check in for 15 minutes

Hot tub area was closed due to electrical issues; restaurant was closed due to staffing issues; vending machine near our room was "out of order"; external door was left unlocked. On the positive side, there is a walking/bicycle trail directly behind this hotel & they have a bike rack in the covered entrance area. Black Box food truck in the nearby marina was fantastic.

This hotel is within walking distance of the Splash On Waterpark and restaurants. Rooms were very clean. Staff were great. The complimentary breakfast was good and environmentally friendly. I would stay here again.

A little over priced however I understand they have to make up for the pandemic. Clean, comfortable and convenient location to get you on to highway 12. Staff was very pleasant. Restaurant closed for dinner due to shortage of staff. Very good breakfast.

I booked the hotel in Orillia mostly because it had an onsite restaurant and full breakfast, served 7am to 10 am. When we arrived, the spa was closed, the restaurant was closed and a minimal breakfast was provided only between 6am and 8am due to plumbing problems in the kitchen. Powdered eggs were awful and only 2 very early hours for breakfast was disconcerting. None of this was advised on the website, nor was I advised at time of booking. Also, the room price was not reduced to compensate. The room itself was very clean and comfortable. I prefer to stay at BW but because of these issues I may choose differently next time.

nice hotel. full good breakfast. However, it is not a good hotel for mobility impaired clients as all rooms have bath/shower combinations. Rooms marked as accessible provide nothing more than a shower/bath chair and an optional elevated toilet seat. Lots of trouble to shower if you can lift your legs high enough, and hardly possible if using a wheelchair.

Need more staff at the front desk. Waited over 15 minutes while clerk was on the phone. Website advertises free hot breakfast - they charge $10 in the attached restaurant and employee at desk and on the phone said no free breakfast is advertised. Room was clean if a bit worn. Grounds are nice out back with some chairs and a gazebo

Fast check-in. Really decent/good breakfast. We've stayed here before. The rooms are a teeny bit outdated but a good size and provide what one needs. A nice town to pass through too and price decent as a best western rewards member.

I've stayed at a ton of these type of hotels, from Best Western and other brands. Not much really stood out about this one, which is a good thing. The exterior looked a little dated but inside was great. Room was clean and comfortable. Desk staff friendly and helpful. The one area where I was surprised in a good way was breakfast. Usually the “free” breakfast in hotels is relatively mediocre, nearly stale bagels, watery coffee, fast food quality bacon and yogurts etc. At this place the bacon and sausage was amazing, better than you get in most restaurants. Eggs and coffee great. Not overcrowded even though the hotel was full. I'd recommend this hotel for the breakfast alone.

Staff very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was really good. Will definitely stay there again Location is close to everything we needed. front desk staff went out of their way to accommodate our request for a ground floor in the area where there was no elevator.

What a delight surprise to find this motel in the midst of a town filled with motel dumps . Great friendly reception , clean updated room , comfy beds , quiet , ( bathroom a bit dated but acceptable) good quality coffee in room , good water pressure , ac works well . Inclusive hot breakfast over the top! Felt very safe here . Close to casino too. This is obviously a well managed property and needs to be congratulated! well done !

Where we had to park had 3 lights in the area and only 1 at the far end was working. It was pitch black and I fell leaving the car hurting my knee. I reported it to the front desk and they seemed very indifferent and had been aware of the lights being out. We did not feel our vehicle was safe as did other guests.

Why not treat yourself to a fun weekend when travelling from the GTA to attend weekend events at Casino Rama - great lodgings and quick and reasonably priced cab ride. The hotel offers a shuttle on Fri/Sat as well, but timing is restrictive and you have to buy a round trip ticket.

Not happy with the cleanliness of the room or how long it took to check in. Asked for an early check in at 2, didn't get to check in until 3:30. Shower wasn't clean and there was crumbs on counter. There was hair in the shower as well. The room is very nice but doesn't make it welcoming when it smells like perfume and cigarettes. You also can't open the window in the room to air it out. I would suggest not counting on an early check in. They didn't call us at all to tell us if we were able to or not and then they said 3pm even though they were still cleaning our room until 3:30. Maybe this was just a bad experience but I have definitely stayed at better hotels in the past.

We enjoyed our stay in Orilla. Best Western Plus Orilla Hotel met with our expectations and the room was very clean and spacious. The bed was comfortable. The breakfast was very good. If we ever get back up to Orilla we shall stay here again.

The hotel is in a beautiful location but not too many amenities close by. The included breakfast was delicious!!!! Lots of hot items like bacon,sausage,eggs hashbrowns, waffles. Cold items, drinks. It was probably the best included breakfast I have ever had at a hotel!!!

Clean. Comfy room. Complimenatary hot buffet breakfast was good. Staff friendly and caring. Plenty of parking. Close to everything you need. Room heater was very noisy from wind outside. Guess there's a vent or something. Free coffee and tea at front desk.

Our room -- and especially the common areas -- are in great shape. Reception staff is friendly and professional. Everything in the room worked perfectly. Because of Covid, breakfast is limited; but there are still choices and it works.

BW - Whether Orillia, Milton or London is always the highest quality service and have employees that bend over backwards to help. They are friendly and accommodating. I would never choose another hotel - BW is always first choice.

Nice rooms, outdated room key cards that were problematic, quiet and easy location. However the breakfast was the worst I have had in years, equivalent to a $60 a night motel. Sadly nothing like any other Best Western Plus I have stayed at, even in times of Covid. Fruit was apple slices in plastic bags like happy meal but 2 weeks past due. Coffee was not made first morning one hour into breakfast. Sandwiches were hard and stale. No cereal. It got better as thinfs were refreshed but sadly well below my expectations for $120 a night. No staff disinfecting after use at the breakfast area. It was always well staffed at other BW Plus I have stayed at. The interior of rhe hotel is nice and clean. The exterior is not, ceilings and windows are dirty, neglected outside.

Front Desk Service was horrible; Breakfast was not what was offered when booked; Parking was challenging; Room was dingy and needed updating; Location was good; Lobby was nice. Wouldn't stay here again, would go to the other Best Western in Orillia.

Concierge was very friendly and helpful. Location of this hotel is fabulous with walking/biking trails right behind! Walking distance to both Lake Simcoe and Couchiching Lake! Beautiful area. Beautiful downtown Orillia is only minutes down the road with many different shops and restaurants! Our trip was in the fall - beautiful colours - but we will be back in the warmer weather to enjoy the summer experiences in Orillia!

Was the First Best Western in Canada, I didn't enjoy my stay. I don't like to repeat the stay in this Hotel. The room in not clean well at all, and there are some insects, there and where. Plus, under the bed wasn't clean.

Great hotel tucked into nature. Very comfortable beds and pillows. King size suite with fireplace was very cozy. Front desk staff welcoming and friendly. Lots to see and do in Orillia. Lake Couchaching has many lovely paths and beaches.

The hotel was very clean and check in was quick. The room was very spacious and clean. The Internet worked great. There was a walking/bike trail behind the hotel which was fabulous for our early morning walk.

Clean rooms, Kind and helpful staff. I was just disappointed that restaurant and other things they offer were not open and I found the price to be a little high for one night stay with most of the hotel amenities closed. But understandable because of covid. Other than that it was a nice quiet stay. The rooms were clean and beds were comfortable. Good pressure in showers and fully stocked bathroom. My daughter who is 10 loved the pillows. Rooms were easily climatized to what you prefer.. I have used this location three times now to stay. I would bool again.

We really enjoyed our stay at best western. The location was perfect! Trail access literally right behind the hotel. A beautiful 1km took us to the beach so we didn't have to pay for parking. The only downside was the grab and go breakfast, but that is due to covid and we applaud the hotel for trying their best to provide something. Would definitely stay here again

Will probably not return, They should be more up front with what they offer and the real prices. Staff were good but the problem is with the motel itself. Not sure if it is the same at all locations, but will definatly check first next time.

Stayed 2 days- room and bed were clean and comfortable. Bathroom was a bit in disrepair and and needing an upgrade. Outside- needed a good power wash. The extra parking area was at the back at the hotel and there was one little entrance littered with cigarette butts and spider webs. Spiders on the ceiling! Dirty windows and cobwebs and mould everywhere on the outside. Yuck. Good thing the bed was comfortable and quiet.

Best Western Plus Orillia is right on the walking trails and very close (walking) to the beach. The Bayside Restaurant which is very close to hotel has excellent breakfast. The Stephen Leacock Museum walking trail is very nice. Google brew pubs and wineries if interested as they are nice.

We always stay at this hotel,every year,when we visit Orillia for a week.We wouldn't consider staying anywhere else.Ben,on the front desk,always makes us feel like we are coming home.Our Daughter Wanted to surprise us by having flowers delivered to our room for the duration of our stay,and he was most helpful over the phone,recommending a florist,as we are from out of town. Covid has changed so many things,but this hotel did everything they could to follow protocol to the letter.A small continental breakfast in the foyer and clean towels were always readily available whenever you needed them without question.Thank you once again from the bottom of our hearts,for everything you do.

Note: This hotel does not have a pool (jacuzzis/jetted tubs available at a fee). Stayed for one night at the beginning of August for a weekend getaway; traveled with a toddler. The outside looks dated but the interior seems newly renovated; carpeting looks new, as does the furniture. Linens are clean, thick and lush, and the bathtub appears recently installed as well. The grab-n-go continental breakfast was nice (English muffin breakfast sandwiches with egg/sausage rounds, muffins, juice, milk, apple slices and “high-end” granola bars (Made Good!)). Room was very clean and had a Keurig machine with a few coffee and tea pods. Bed was comfortable. Ben, the elegant gentleman at the front desk, was very professional and thorough. The hotel location is superb; located right between Lake Simcoe and Lake Couchiching, and around a 10-minute walk to Tudhope Park (beach, kayak rentals, waterpark). We didn't realize how important it was to be able to walk to the park. Apparently, visitor parking at Tudhope Park (and most parts of Orillia) is $50(!) on Fri to Sun (free for Orillia residents, and free for everyone from Mon to Thu). This was implemented during Covid to prevent public parks/areas from becoming too crowded during the weekends (the cost of incurring a parking ticket is $100). Glad the hotel was close enough that we could park there and walk to the nearby park. A great stay at a hospitable hotel in a town that didn't want us there.

Arrived for a one night stay 3rd week in July.. Front desk was a little busy and only had one clerk checking in 3 different groups but the clerk was calm, efficient and polite. Our room was clean, spacious, comfortable and quiet. The location of the hotel close to beach attractions was a bonus! Great hotel would definitely recommend!

Helpful personnel when booking and selecting room and even upgrading. Unique room layout. Most satisfactory. Walking/biking trail passing the hotel grounds and connecting it with a string of waterfront parks. Nicest of hotels, only I wish Best Western Hotels use e-mail addresses on their websites.

My husband, dog, and I recently found ourselves in need of 17 nights' accommodation. The Best Western Plus in Orillia was the perfect spot for my spouse to recover/recuperate from surgery. The housekeeping, room service, maintenance, and client services staff were all helpful, professional, and efficient, often going beyond our expectations to ensure our comfort. Although the dining room was closed because of Covid, there was room service available ....... try the Seafood Linguini ..... it was yummy! The room was spacious, clean, comfortable, and quiet. The hotel is situated in close proximity to the walking/biking trail. Parking is convenient and safe. Covid precautions were in effect, and a grab and go breakfast was available.

Stayed in the Best Western Orillia with my partner. We stayed in the room with a hot tub, wet bar and fireplace. It was quite a large room and had a very comfortable bed. The price for the room was also very reasonable. Only think they could change is the décor, quite old fashioned :)

I booked to stay at The Best Western in Orillia Friday night October 29 because I was in Barrie on a family emergency. Being I always stay at The Best Western on my business trips because I always get 150% in customer service. I went to The Best Western Hotel in Orillia for the first time. My experience was amazing I met this gentleman named Paul. He was very professional and courteous being I exspect this from my employees I was really impressed. Paul asked me if I wanted to be upgraded, being I was with my wife. He gave us a room with a king size bed,fridge,microwave, and jacuzzi tub. This was absolutely the best customer service I have had during my stays in hotels. Like I said before I always try to stay at The Best Western Plus when ever I am on business. This was the first time I stayed at The Best Western Hotel in Orillia. I also had awesome service from another gentleman named Ben. In my business I give 150% Customer Service and I exspect it where ever I travel. You want to know if I recommend The Best Western, well I have a business trip planned for Barrie on Friday November 6 and 7. I am booking to stay at The Best Western Plus Hotel in Orillia again. travelled 6 hours arriving in town at noon originally booked at another hotel and was told couldnt check in till 4 - Ben at BW told me when I called they had a room right away and when I got yhere he upgraded us to a suite

This covid situation would obviously dampen any person's travel experience. However, the Best Western provided an excellent experience. This is extremely difficult and I can just imagine even a greater experience in the future. Lorne & Diane.

This was the most pleasant hotel experience yet! All aspects were exceptional ... check-in and out, location at edge of town and walking or riding trail immediately accessible behind hotel, and a 300 sq ft room made up with attention to detail and extremely clean.

The hotel was as expected for a Best Western. We were very disappointed with their breakfast "Grab and Go" it was a brown paper bag with just a bottle of water, a sweet and salty granola bar and a Bear Paw cook package. This is a snack for a child not a breakfast for adults. Yogurt, fresh fruit, small box of cereal, milk, fruit cups might have been a better option. Or just a reduced rate of $10 to $20 would have been appreciated more, if you can't follow through with what was advertised. Please don't use Covid as an excuse. We are all effected by this and trying to help out local business by using your facility.

Too bad the broken, lumpy, soft king mattress with an indentation in the middle spoiled our Stay in Orillia. The service and staff were pleasant, the room was very clean, the crisp white bedding was comfy and there were lots of towels in the newly- tiled bathroom. We reserved at the last minute and the price was favourable. Unfortunately we had 2 restless nights and would not stay there again, unless we're told the beds have been replaced.

Great location for a couple nights away and to golf. Although breakfast has been suspended and hotub/spa is closed, the value for this Orillia hotel is very good. When the casino reopens it would be an excellent choice. Try to get your room in the 4 storey building at rear

Best Western Plus Orillia Hotel Orillia Over priced Unfortunately We booked the room through "Reservations". Their price was on USD which was confusing. Also, they charged each rooms about 20 USD for cleaning. When we asked the receptionist he was shocked and said there is no fee for cleaning at all and the third party, "Reservation", was not allowed to charge us. When we asked for refund he politely said he can do nothing as the reservation was through third party. Rooms were clean but some items were super uncomfortable at this location: 1- Receptionist was super sorry person and basically by saying Sorry he was ignoring us. 2- There is no elevator to take your luggage to your room and you should carry it through the stairs. In our case we had a stroller which was hard to take it upstairs. The receptionist just helped us to take the stroller. And we had to take the rest ourselves. 3- The mini fridge was off and No point to turn it on as it will take few hours to reach to cooling temperature. 4- Our room with 2 queen bed had only one bottle of water. 5- bathroom had only one set of shampoo and conditioner which was so small that was not enough for even o e person. 6- We had breakfast on our rooms but in the morning the receptionist told us the he is again sorry because their kitchen in closed due to pendamic. When asked him to refund the charge he was again sorry and he asked us to contact The Tird Party.

Overall our stay was great. Paul at the front desk was very kind and welcoming. The hotel is only a few minute walk from a beautiful view of the water. The hotel was clean and the bed was comfortable.

Great beaches, ice cream, dinner, groceries, bike trails, all great. Just remember if you are coming from outside of Orillia, you'll be charged for parking at the beach (on the weekends). Locals were exceptionally friendly.

Stay here on a regular basis. The staff are excellent. The value of rooms is very good. Overall a great travel experience. The front desk is always professional and expedient. The dining room bar team are very friendly, professional and the food is very, very good.

This hotel is in a decent location when going to anything at Casino Rama (about a 7 min drive). The staff that we had contact with were amazing! The internet was fast as well which is always a plus. The room we had looked a little dated but we saw many signs tell us they were doing renovations. The beds were comfortable but i'm not sure they were queen sized (which is what we booked)

We didn't get the room we paid for on Expedia, when we asked about the room discrepancy because we booked and paid for a Superior King w/ Fireplace room but were initially put in a regular Queen room. We were moved to a second room which was supposedly a Superior King however, we never found out as when we opened the door to the room we found it to be occupied already... yes occupied by other guests!! Mind blowing but unfortunately true!! So back to the front desk we went for a second time, where we were informed that there weren't any of the rooms we booked and paid for actually available so they then put us in a third room of the night. It wasn't the same room we paid for or were expecting to have, but it was the "best they could do". Be sure to know there aren't elevators and moving luggage up and down multiple stair levels with my wife being 6 months pregnant was rather frustrating!!! At this point nothing was going to be too surprising to us so the room light burning out after being in there for all of 5 minutes or finding left behind clothes from a previous guest in the closet seemed like the expected in this place!! Clearly their cleaners don't bother to open the closet while cleaning the rooms... good to know and makes you wonder what else they don't open or clean while "cleaning" the rooms. When we asked to speak to the manager in the morning our request was ignored because he already knew the situation and there was nothing he could do because we booked with Expedia. I don't think Expedia had anything to do with not booking us in the correct room, or moving us to an already occupied room!! Be very cautious about booking here because you definitely don't get what you pay for and cleanliness is clearly not a big deal nor is security!! That isn't even touching on the parking situation where there isn't enough parking for all guests and they tell you that you will probably get a parking ticket but they will take care of it. Definitely not somewhere we will be returning and we will be sure to share our experience with others so they don't have to go through the same crap we did!!

Place was clean, and we had no issues. Paint job in the bathroom was pretty bad, but the room was spotless. Service was great and friendly. If you are going to Orillia, I would recommend the Best Western Plus.

the service provided by the staff at this hotel was excelent . They are currently undergoing renovations and this did not affect our stay . The restraunt and breakfast was excelent . Best steak i have had in a long time . The only draw back is that the accesible washroom in our room could be a bit bigger to allow transfer to the toilet . Also a common fault in all hotels is that the beds are too high and the person in the wheelchair has to be lifted up in order to get in the bed . other than that it was a very enjoyable stay .

The hotel is clean, staff are super friendly. Hot tub and two person sauna are fantastic. Complimentary breakfast has loads of choices. Close to several restaurants. The room could use a touch of paint on the bathroom doors.

The hotel was a nice clean location to stay at. We were in town to catch a show at Casino Rama and the prices to stay at the Casino Rama Resort was a bit too expensive so we opted to stay at the BW+ Orillia hotel instead. We were not dissapointed for what we spent on our room, wifi was good enough to stream some movies, rooms and hotel were clean, decor was slightly out dated but otherwise suffice. Also the included breakfast was an added bonus that was not only pretty good and had a variety for almost anyone but also added to the value of staying at this hotel over others.

We stay at this hotel when we go to a show at Casino Rama. The room is always clean, the beds are comfortable, and the buffet breakfast is very good. The staff are very friendly and very helpful. It's nice that they have a shuttle bus from the hotel to the casino.

Pleased with our stay, hot tub excellent after a long car ride. Close to the casino and downtown . Hot and cold breakfast available. BEDS COMFORTABLE. Halls very clean . Our overall stay very pleasurable.

Overall experience was not too bad however we had not been informed that the shuttle to casino was first come first serve and it was full when we arrived. Hotel needs to tell patrons in advance or get another shuttle. Breakfast menu great but food luke warm at best. Not enough parking on busy days for all guests.

WE had a lovely three night stay over Christmas here at this hotel. The rooms were lovely and the breakfast was very good. The staff were amazing ! Overall a great Christmas stay for sure will be back for sure

We stayed at this hotel as it was close to the casino for a concert and had shuttle. However our stay was very disappointing. 1. Toilet sized for a small child, not a 250 lb man 2. Plastic shower curtain smelled very musty, no Kleenex 3. Promise of an Italian restaurant onsite was simply a ruse to attract patrons. We were given multiple reasons on different days by different staff as to why it would not be open, with no opening in sight. After having breakfast there, it was very apparent that it was simply a breakfast area and no restaurant was operating there.

My wife and I went to Casino Rama for a show this past Saturday night. We knew that we couldn't afford to stay at the casino and the Best Western offered us the best value for our money as well as being a very short drive from the casino. We were extremely pleased with everything about our stay.

We were headed to Casino Rama for concert and this location was perfect. The rooms are clean and roomy and my Husband said the shower was really good. The front staff were very helpful and informative. We will definately stay there again.

Another great stay at Best Western Plus Orillia Hotel. Our first choice when staying in the area. Clean, tidy and comfortable. Staff are always professional and pleasant, always helpful. Breakfast is always great as well. Thank you.

Husband and I were here to see Stix concert at the casino. We were originally booked at a different hotel but there was an issue with the reservation so we were redirected here. It's about a 10 minute drive to the casino but we took advantage of this hotel's shuttle service on concert nights for $10 per person round trip. A small school bus is used and departs every hour on the hour starting at 5:30pm. The last shuttle leaves the casino at midnight. Be waiting outside if you're on that last shuttle at midnight because a lot of people were turned around when the bus was full! The rooms here are average. We had a king bed with a sofa, coffee table, small table with chairs, flat screen TV, Keurig coffee machine, bar fridge and a microwave. The sofa can open for extra sleeping space and because of this , when you sit down the cushions are leaning forward. Not very comfortable. The bathroom was nice with more counter space than the average hotel room. Shower head has different settings to choose from and the pressure is good. There is a restaurant attached to the hotel but we were told that the bar was open and the kitchen closed, which was disappointing because we didn't feel like going out on our second night there. I guess that means that the room service menu wasn't available either? The restaurant space is used for the breakfast buffet which is included. It looked ok but we aren't breakfast people so we only had coffee. An average place to stay in Orillia.

Maybe not the cheapest way to spend a night in the area but the comfort and cleanliness is worth the money. Stayed here twice already and would always recommend this hotel to anyone looking for accomodation.

We stayed here on a Friday night to attend a concert at Casinorama. The check-in was painless, the rooms were very clean, bed was comfortable and washrooms were more than sufficient. The bike trail in the back was an added bonus. The only negative thing I have to say is the eggs at the breakfast were by far the worst I have ever had. On the flip side the waffle maker was a nice touch and the sausage and bacon were delicious. For a short stay in Orillia this is as good as anywhere. We are actually going back in a couple of weeks.

We had, once again, a very enjoyable stay. The room was spacious, clean and well equipped. The staff were friendly and very helpful and will do go beyond to make sure our stay was good. The breakfast was very good with plenty of choices to match anyone's wantings. However, eggs were on the best. The beds were extremely comfortable.

Staff are great. Especially the front desk. Check in and out was fast. Decent location. The room was nice. The door a bit flimsy on our unit. Left me a bit concerned as the deadbolt did not work. Not enough parking here. Got back late and had nowhere to park. Breakfast was very nice. Lots of selections, hot and cold.

We love staying at the Best Western hotel by Lake Couchiching. It's close to my family and we love walking along the trails at Tudhope Park. It's a gem! The hotel staff are so welcoming and helpful. The breakfast is always good value.

This is a very nice hotel. The Front desk was helpful several times. The Staff are all very friendly, and the breakfast was quite good. The gym was good as well. They need a new stationary bike, but there was a good universal and there were plenty of free weights.

When I booked the room I didn't realize that we belonged to the BW club and hubby and I were thrilled that our room was upgraded when we got there. The room was clean and comfortable. Would definitely stay there again!

The purpose of our trip was to take in a show at the Casino and also play slots. We found the Casino Rama hotel to be too expensive. We chose this property because it was within a five minute drive to the Casino with affordable room rates including a hot breakfast offering a variety of choices. The hotel also offered a shuttle to the casino which added an additional convenience. Our room was large clean and quiet. We would definitely stay at this property in the future.

I've stayed at this hotel 10 years ago but found my recent stay disappointing. This property is in need of updating. The bar and restaurant were closed. Would not book another stay here. There are better options in Orillia.

We were very happy with our three night stay here. Our rooms were in the new (back) part of the hotel and were spotlessly clean, commodious with both refrigerator and coffee makers. The beds were very comfortable. (The work table is good to have - something I always look for - but hard to work at: It would be better if the chairs at it were two inches higher.) All of the staff were impressively polite, accommodating and helpful. Check in was slow because all (it seemed like all) the out of towners attending the bridge tournament descended on the hotel at the same time. The half hour wait in line was made palatable by the front desk staff who were aware of and repeatedly apologized for the inconvenience and who were clearly working as fast and efficiently as humanly possible. The young lady on the morning/day shift deserves special mention for her presence of mind, her efficiency and attention to detail, personability and helpfulness. A real problem solver: if the owners don't realize what a gem they have in her, hopefully this will wake them up. Breakfast each day, while the same as in most hotels/motels of this class, was fresh, continually replenished by excellent, efficient staff, good quality and generous. Juices, bacon, sausage, eggs (scrambled, pre-made), cereals, waffles, a selection bagels, breads, etc. No one need leave in the morning hungry. This is clean, affordable, comfortable, solid accommodation that we can recommend without qualification.

Breakfast were marginal, the same every day. Scrambled eggs were often only luke-warm, sausages were overcooked and dry. The on-site restaurant is open only a few nights per week. One night our room was not made up. Check out was inefficient and took forever.

The hotel is close to Tudhope park with walking trails for several kilometres. Lake Simcoe and Couchiching are on each side of the park. Rooms are generous in size. There is no elevator. Breakfast was adequate with lots od choice. Internet was great.

Oh dear. My biggest complaint every time we stay here is the appearance of the patio and the outside maintenance. This year there was zero patio furniture. The desk clerk did have an excuse for where the furniture was. Still in storage and unable to retrieve them due to unusual Spring floods. We had brought our own folding chairs, to use at the park. The foundation and flower bed weeds were knee high. Door entrances weedy and grubby. Our room on the 2nd day of our stay was never made up. At 4pm I inquired and the desk clerk stated we had our sign posted on the door, do not disturb. I said NO, but the room next to us did have a sign posted. I asked for housekeeping service and was denied because there was none available at 4pm. I went to the desk to get fresh towels because the clerk would not deliver them. She could not leave the desk unattended. We attempted to eat our evening meal in the BW restaurant that same evening of the housekeeping episode. It was disastrous. The lasagne was ice cold on the inside. The waitress had the nerve to say it was made fresh that day. We asked for the bill, no charge. Bringing our own chairs turned out useful and then borrowing a side table from the lobby, we ordered a delivery pizza to eat out on the disgraceful patio. The feeling of anger we have is justified towards BW for the lack of responsibility it takes to give high quality guest comfort and service. The guest complaints seem not to be a prioity to remedy. Pro active Management is desperately needed. I truely wish I could give a positive review to the Couchiching BW.

Had a great stay at Best Western and the rooms are very comfortable. The hot tub was so relaxing after a long days drive. Staff is friendly and very helpful to our needs. It is a pet friendly hotel and we have two golden doodles. Thank you.

We stayed at this hotel for one night. We thoroughly enjoyed our short stay. The gentleman at the front desk was very pleasant and helpful. Our room was very clean and even had a fireplace! Breakfast was included and was very good. We would stay here again if we find ourselves in the area and in need of a place to stay.

Offer elders better room specially if they are standing right in front of you. Usually if you see the room is not satisfying to a customer please offer help for them. I could not bring my grand daughter to room because of my legs. No one offered me help. I ask for a stranger whom was a guest to help me.

We stayed at this hotel after attending a concert at Casino Rama. The room was great. Bed comfortable. Had a fridge and a Keurig in the room which was convenient. The only drawback was the breakfast. The eggs were gray and unappetizing. There was sausage and bacon but the sausage (we think) was chicken/turkey and cold. Bacon was chewy. The only thing good was the butter tarts. It was a convenient location after the concert but was very expensive for what is was.

The room we stayed in with the fireplace and jacuzzi was awesome! Loved the location beside the trails and walking distance to the lake! Friendly helpful staff ! Morning was so much better with a really good breakfast!

This hotel is a very nice hotel what you would expect from a Best Western. Close to the water, walking trails, restaurants, ... make it an ideal place to stay but the front desk staff was exceptional! I stay in a lot of places for work and this front desk experience was the best!

When possible we try to stay at Best Western every time we travel in Canada and when staying in Orillia we ALWAYS stay at Best Western Lake Couchiching.Its like ‘coming home' for us,because we have gotten to know most of the staff over the 15plus that we have stayed there.If you haven't stayed there,you're missing out.We wouldn't even think about staying anywhere else.They go above and beyond to meet your needs and make it the best experience. for their guests.Thank you all,once again...from the bottom of our hearts.

We had an early check in but did not get there early due to traffic. When we did, the check in was quick and informative. Our room was clean and comfortable. A good night sleep in comfortable needs and pillows. The complimentary breakfast was ok. I would suggest that the staff enforce the dress code. It is ok for the staff to tell a customer to go and put shoes on. Overall, a great experience

we felt welcomed as soon as we walked in. The gentleman at the desk made us feel comfortable. We had our 5 yr old grandson with us and he made him feel welcome. He gave us directions to a beach and places we could go for supper that would suit our grandson. He also gave us directions to Santa's Village for the next day as that is where we were going. The room was very clean, beds a little soft but okay. We would recomend this hotel.

We return to this hotel because of its location and friendly staff (Paul). I have written reviews in the past to hopefully improve on a good thing they could have going. The patio has always been an issue the last several stays and this stay, no chairs or tables folks. Mid July, storage issues? Go buy some. The third days stay we received no housekeeping services. By 4 pm I had to ask for room towels. The front desk twisted it that the housekeeper charted we had "Do Not Disturb" on the door. We did not. The room next to us did for the past 2 days. Housekeeping took our morning towels and did not make up the room. I hate when staff right off blame the guests. Then we go to the Portage Restaurant at the BW and the daily special lasagne had cold pockets in the slice. We walked out. Enough bad service for one day. I feel so bad our stay has been full of disappointments on the 3rd day. Day 1 and 2 were great! Beware folks.

The outside of this hotel is tacky. Gardens overgrown, chipped paint on flower pots, cigarette butts outside front door, patio with weeds and broken patio stones. If I had not already booked I would not stay here. Inside was different. For the most part, clean neat and tidy. Friendly staff. Poor Curb Appeal

My husband and I stayed for two nights and the hotel was very nice. We were upgraded to a King jacuzzi suite which had lots of room for us. The staff were very pleasant. The hotel interior and rooms are well kept. The breakfast was plentiful with lots of options. The only issue is the exterior of the hotel is not being kept up. The flower beds and plants need to be trimmed and weeded to make it look more appealing. Our first thoughts when arriving were we hope the room will be okay to stay in. At first glance it could deter potential guests from staying the night. We had dinner in the restaurant and everything was fine. The waitress was very busy however she handled every table with ease. The hotel is in a good location, close enough to all attractions Orillia and surrounding area has to offer.

I was sent an email for me to “check in” on line which I did with a check in time request for 2 to 4 pm but when I showed up at 2:30 pm to check in the young lady at the desk told me that that function was not working. She told me that I had to return at 4:00 pm. When I arrived, I was told that I was eligible for an upgrade but this was not available either. I did get bottled water so that was a plus. My room was very tired with an old carpet that didn't look very clean. The bathroom was small but we did have nice white towels. The bed was comfortable and the air conditioner did work. I'm just surprised that this hotel is supposed to be a “Plus” but I've been in better. The breakfast was ok but I do want to mention that only one women was trying to prepare and keep food items stocked. She was obviously overworked. Overall, I would not recommend this hotel.

not sure if it really is corporate policy not to put "out of order" sings on things that don't work, eg. vending mahine. if it is it needs to be changed, at least the front desk refunded the change but why have your guest go thru the issue, put a sign up!

Stayed only one night after a concert. Front desk staff was cheery and helpful. The standout on this trip was the cleanliness of our room, exceptional! The decor is dated but the cleanliness and setup of the room ( fireplace, kitchenette,new whirlpool tub in room and a new bathroom ) was perfect for us. The included breakfast had many typical items but also included gluten free options , we were thrilled ! The only complaint would be the condition of the front parking lot . Will highly recommend and will stay again if in the area.

Front desk called my room in the morning to tell me my 84 year old mother in law (or as he said crazy lady) staying in another room in the hotel was causing a scene in the front lobby and thinks the police should be called. I rushed down in a full anxiety attack to find my sister in law looking for me with him laughing and continuing on with his "joke" how was this funny or in any way professional? I complained and did receive a email from the GM saying "Sorry this place did not meet my expectations" with no mention of the uncalled for behavior of his front desk staff. I stayed in pet friendly room 132 which I understand accidents happen but the floor and furniture are covered in urine stains that they need to clean up, there is a smell in the room and the toilet keeps on running so he may want to up his standards because I do not think expecting better than that is much to ask for. I have stayed here before and never again. It has really gone downhill, stay elsewhere.

We took in a show at Casino Rama last weekend, and rather than embarking on a long drive home, we decided to stay overnight at the Best Western. Check-in was quick and the front desk staff were very professional and friendly. The hotel is only 11 mins drive from the Casino, so it was very convenient. The room was clean and had everything we needed. Breakfast (included) was served in the restaurant and was quite tasty. This is a great place to stay.

I stayed at the Best Western Plus in Orillia for business. The front desk staff was very friendly and professional. He told me everything I needed to know about the hotels amenities which left no need for follow up questions. It had already been a long travel day for me so that was nice. He even held the front door for me when I was bringing in my luggage.

Location is close to amenities and leisure activities. Great location. We visit this location everytime we travel to this destination. Anytime of year is a great time to visit the area. There is so much to see and do.

From the time I entered the hotel it was a very pleasant stay. Stayed in a 2 queen bed room, and had asked for a cot to be added to the room. When we checked in, the cot was already in the room, with a bit of rearranging a table and some chairs, the cot fit perfectly in the room, and had tons of extra space, did not feel crowded in the room. Check in was fantastic, and the staff went above and beyond during my stay. The morning breakfast was delicious, and had lots of variety (eggs, home fries, bacon, sausage, waffles, muffins and MORE) for all those picky eaters out there. The hot tub and sauna was an added bonus. Will for sure be booking at this hotel again next time I'm in Orillia for an event.

Super clean, super convenient. Great value. From the warm welcome by Paul to the sweet send off by Jerry, it's clear these folks know the hospitality industry. The decor was not our style, but the delicious and substantial breakfast made up for it.

We had a death in the family and Paul was able to accommodate me quickly and efficiently. Room was very clean and comfortable, shower was awesome fantastic water pressure. Kuerig in the room with a variety of pods etc. Quite enjoyable in spite of the reason for my visit home.

After being booked on Expedia with a competitor in the area on Family day weekend. This hotel went above and beyond to ensure that my family of had a place to stay for the night. We will never book with a 3rd party company again. Best Western will match all 3rd party offers.

Firstly, the staff are very friendly and this was a packed weekend so their courteousness was greatly appreciated. We ate at the Portage Italian Bistro and the food was quite good and very reasonably priced and as a hotel guest, you receive 15% off. We used our CAA to get a $25 discount on the room as well. We choose the King room with a fireplace, bathtub jacuzzi and little kitchenette. It was a great room for the price - clean and comfortable. Could see myself staying in that room for a week's vacation. Breakfast was included. Bacon, eggs, sausages, etc. Overall, a great experience.

Another superb Best Western Plus. With the discounted rate a very good value though still the highest priced room in the area aside from the sold out casino.Parking was excellent as we had a trailer. Front desk exceptional. The breakfast hostess was coughing near the food.

One night get away, we can say we will be back! Enjoyed the fact that we didnt have to leave the hotel to dine and were able to have a relaxing night away. The hot tub and sauna were so relaxing. The front desk staff were amazing and we were upgraded right away from rewards program they offered, now that's service with a smile!

we stay here because they allow pets. Convenient location for our Christmas travels. Pet rooms dated, stained carpet but clean. Lots of items on breakfast menu. Staff very friendly, service excellent.

We have stayed at this hotel a couple of times and have not been disappointed. The room is comfortable and the staff are friendly and accommodating. We had dinner in the restaurant and the food was very good and the wait staff was good. We had the complimentary buffet breakfast in the morning and it was also very good with a number of choices.

All staff, amenities, room, etc. great. Helpful, pleasant staff at front, in halls, in breakfast area. Room comfortable, nicely appointed, clean. Breakfast selection great, nicely presented, tasty, plentiful. Easy to find when entering Orillia from Hwy 12.

What can I say, it was another great stay at a Best Western. This time I was on vacation checking out what Central Ontario has to offer. I had never been in the area so finding a place that was comfortable was important to me. My solution - Go with what I know and that was the Best Western chain. Cleanliness - Spotless Room and Bath Staff - Excellent front Desk, housekeeping and kitchen. Dining - Great restaurant. I was late for the free hot breakfast but they kept the restaurant open for me. Bed - All the Hotels in this chain must have the same mattresses cause I sleep like a baby. A good night sleep is so important to me and may other chains simply do not have a mattress to take my weight and size. Best Western does. Overall it was a excellent place to stay and I would stay again when in the area.

My family and I travel alot, so we stay in different hotels. If there is a Best Western we will stay there. Their hotels are always clean, great friendly staff and they usually offer a filling breakfast!

Had tickets to a show at Rama needed a place to stay. Affordable. King size comfy bed. Clean ,actually spotless. Spacious nice room. Included breakfast which was actually fantastic! Better then expected! The bed was sooooo comfortable!!! Excellent reception at the front desk. Helped us get a taxi to Rama. I would stat there again in a heartbeat.

Very clean room and bathroom, friendly staff, SO nice they provided bottles of water and a Keurig machine instead of the old school coffee machines. Didn't stay for breakfast so can't comment on that. Checking in late wasn't a problem

What a fabulous time we had at the Stevie Wonder concert at Casino Rama! The buffet left us with a lot to be desired, but the rest of the facilities were very nice. Our stay at the Best Western was great. Plenty of room, nice size fridge and tons of coffee and tea. The hot tub was super, not busy, very clean and hot! The breakfast buffet was far better than most. Will visit again with pleasure.

Accommodate you allow pets and great breakfast rooms are clean and nice even have bus to take you to rama the casino pool could be bigger but nice also location is in a good location and food was awesome

We found reception very friendly and welcoming. Seeing that we were Seniors, the clerk offered to change our allocated rooms from the first floor with no lift to the ground floor. This was a thoughtful and welcome change. Our rooms were large and comfortable with luxurious beds and well planned bathrooms, all very clean. In a hotel of this standard I was surprised that there was no porterage of our luggage, but that was my only complaint. We enjoyed dinner in the Italian restaurant, with friendly service and reasonable prices. My scallops were better than some I had eaten elsewhere on the previous evening for twice the price.

We enjoy staying at this hotel. The location to Casino Rama is great because there is a shuttle offered every hour on the half hour. We also enjoyed the bar/lounge and had a salad and some beers. That was great. Then in the morning had a hot breakfast with great coffee too. Beds and pillows are so comfortable. We'd highly recommend staying here.

Very good stay always stay here when visiting Orillia and Casino Rama. The shuttle bus is good to have and it is only a 20.00 dollar cab ride if not taking the bus. The staff are always friendly and are willing to assist.

We were a group of eight, staying in four rooms, including one with a playpen.Rooms were huge and clean with all usual amenities.Breakfast was included in the price of room and was delicious. We would definitely stay at this or other Best Western Plus hotel again.

We stayed at this hotel last night. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The room was very clean and the beds were very comfortable. The free continental breakfast was delicious. I was very happy with my stay, I will definitely be back.!!

Nice rooms, cleaned and comfortable with good WiFi, free parking and a hot breakfast included. We ate dinner in the Italian Bistro inside the hotel and the service and food were excellent. You get 15% off the cost of your meal if you are staying in the hotel. It was a bonus to not have to go out in the rain in search of dinner. Rooms have a microwave and a Keurig.

We stayed here for 2 nights for a family wedding in the area and really enjoyed our stay . Had supper in the resturant , very good -tasty and not to pricey. Happy to see there was a walking trail right there, it took us down to the lake. Beds were very comfortable.

I booked a room at this hotel because I was attending a healthcare conference in the area. I booked it through Best Western's website using a "preferred rate" via corporate discount because my corporate membership listed Best Western as a service provider that gives a discount. When I arrived at the hotel, the front desk employee informed me that if I had called the hotel directly to book and told them I was a healthcare worker, I would have received a much better rate but because I booked online with the corporate rate, he could not alter it. I understand that he was trying to be helpful for next time but it was upsetting to hear that I could have received a better rate if I had known to call the hotel. Best Western promotes using their website for bookings so it is not fair to be penalized for not having this secret knowledge of calling the local hotel. My other concern is when I went to go to sleep at almost midnight, I attempted to lock my hotel room door and could not get the lock to work. I fought with it myself for about 10 minutes and then called the front desk. An employee came to try to fix it but was unable to. I ended up having to pack up and switch rooms. The room was just down the hall but it was quite late and the last thing I wanted to do was repack and unpack. The next morning I told the front desk employee (different again), Ben about my concerns with both missing out on a "healthcare" rate and having to move rooms after midnight because the lock was broken and I asked him for some sort of compensation. He refused. I don't think my request was unreasonable and I was very disappointed. I am a Best Western Rewards member but will likely avoid booking with this hotel chain in the future do to this poor experience. -Andrea

The hotel is what one would expect for a one or two night stay at a Best Western Plus. Efficient reception staff. Clean rooms without a lot of extras. The breakfast, that was included was, pretty good.

The rooms are huge and the breakfast room is very spacious nd nicely appointed. The breakfast was very nicely presented and had a great selection, including fresh fruit and veggies. The location is outside of the main downtown area, but there are several restaurants within waking distance and it is a short drive to the business area of the town.

I needed a long term stay for work ,2 or 3 months. They were very accommodating. Rooms are a little dated,but clean and comfortable. The staff were all friendly and helpful. I loved the walking trail behind the hotel. Great walk past the lake.I also enjoyed the shuttle to the casino!

The room was excellent comfy beds and the room was spotless, with fridge,coffee maker and microwave. Th the hot breakfast was really good with a lot of selections . The woman that serves the breakfast couldn't do enough for us she really loves her job. All the staff in the hotel are really friendly. We will definitely go back.

This hotel is staffed by very polite, courteous and efficient people from front desk and housekeeping to the restaurant breakfast team. It is a clean and comfortable hotel conveniently located to all things Orillia.

A very pleasant stay with wonderful customer service. Clean but dated hotel could use updating. Breakfast included was a nice perk but could be a little fresher & nicer presenrtation. The restaurant was old lookimg. Very hekpful & kind staff.

This hotel is centrally located. It is very clean, the staff are friendly and the grounds are beautiful with a walking trail behind it. The salt water pool is very clean and was not busy any time we were there.

I was attending a concert and the Best Western is well located in Orillia.near the Casinorama.Nice rooms and good breakfast. Staff is very polite and helpful. Room amenities include Keurig cofeemaker with coffee. There is also a coffee corner in lobby.

Staff extemly welcoming, beds comfy, breakfast actually had bacon. Located in great area of Orillia with shopping near by and restaurants.Ben was accomidating and very personable. Breakfast was more than what is expected.

The staff at this property are amazing! Very friendly and courteous. The breakfast was one of the best we have ever had and we travel frequently throughout North America. The breakfast lady Jerry was so kind, thoughtful and very caring. What a remarkable lady! The rooms were exceptionally clean although fairly outdated as was the lobby area. Will definitely stay here again if in the area.

Paul and Ben on the front desk were exceptionally pleasant / helpful - they are certainly NOT the reason for this review and rating and no one (i.e. Simon) should indicate otherwise (the Chef, on the other hand, is fair game). I encountered a few issues - the room was obviously a former smoking room and the chemical cleaner smell used to try to mask the smell of stale smoke was was not helpful and I was locked out by the back door a number of times and had to walk around to the front of the hotel because of a problem with the card key lock. The biggest issue encountered was the Chef closing the Hotel restaurant a 1/2 hour earlier than the posted hours and also ignoring my room service calls while he was in the process of closing the kitchen early - this was completely unacceptable. It was really no fun wandering around a dark, buggy parking lot at night with the Pizza delivery lady as she tries to get a wireless connection for her point of sale device while my puppy was losing her mind barking in the room, waking up the whole floor due to my absence - to say it was irritating is not even close. I left a message for Simon to call me however I did not hear from him until I completed the BW survey - his response was an automated / template reply "Dear First Name Last Name" ... On escalating this matter to BW Corporate, things got 10 X worse. Simon then claimed he called me but my cell had no log of the call and I had no vmail from him. BW HQ asked me to describe the problem - I directed them to Simon and my very detailed BW survey response - they came back and asked me if I could provide those details all over again. I then escalated to the CEO (Mr Kong) and CFO in Phoenix - having received no reply from these "non-verbal twins", I tracked down the Chair of the Board (Mr Cosgrove) and Vice Chair (both BW property owners I might add) - again no reply from them but they courageously instructed some poor BW regional manager to contact me. This organization appears to be one of those rare "upside down" corporations - where the staff actually care much (MUCH!) more about the organization and its customers than the senior management or its owners (thinks Sears Canada....). I'm confident Ben and Paul will do great at whatever they choose to do in life - with their attitude to service, the sky is the limit. I wish I could say the same for Simon (GM), David (CEO and 1/2 of the non-verbal twins), Jim etc. Lastly....while it is the properties / GM's right to reply to this review, I would STRONGLY advise against it.....Simon (GM), the CEO and CEO and Board Chair / Vice Chair of BW all had ample opportunities to correct this and they simple blew it.....over... and over.. and over again. Any attempt to dig yourself out of this mine shaft you are in (the word "hole" doesn't reflect the right depth - too shallow) will be viewed as "just for appearances" by the author and I expect the general public (after reading the above) Take your lumps Gentlemen - all 5 of you have certainly earned them. It is my view that you've done a disservice to the BW brand and therefore your fellow BW franchise owners.

we went there on our anniversary , the room was very clean, comfortable, the maid kept it that way . all the staff were very good, we had breakfast 3 times, and found it very good . all in all we enjoyed our stay. not sure when it will be but we will go back, hopefully it will be before Christmas

Orillia doesn't get the number of visitors it deserves. It is a charming town with km/miles of waterfront.There are a number of decent restos, especially in the old downtown. A lot of young musicians seem to be attracted to the cafes and clubs in the place where Gordon Lightfoot was born just before World War Two swept the globe.Orillia's mayor is a ball of enthusiasm and the owner of at least two of the best places to eat.There are two Best Western hotels in town. -- our choice has been The Best Western Plus just east of the town where the highways get extra busy with traffic to Casino Rama.This BW has recently been updated and is very welcoming and comfortable with one exception--only one of its two buildings has an elevator. This is NOT acceptable in the 21st Century when so many of us are retirees!

We recently stayed at this hotel in Orillia. The location is excellent in its proximity to the lakefront walking trail, downtown and the casino. We had stayed here about 15 years ago and were very disappointed, vowing not to go back. However we decided to give it another shot and were very pleasantly surprised. A nice room, great free breakfast and friendly helpful staff.

Hotel was excellent. It's close to the casino, close to Tudhope Park, friendly staff, clean hotel, better selection of breakfast foods and comfortable beds. We would definitely come back to this place

Rather expensive to stay at any hotel in Orillia during the summer. Leaving that aside, this hotel provides very good accommodation and breakfast. It was very clean and staff were friendly and welcoming. Only complaint was that a specific request to have sofa bed premade, as late arrival, was ignored even though we confirmed this the night before. Other than this complaint, will stay here again.

Wwe have stayed in this hotel twice, both times while attending the Mariposa Folk Festival. It is a short walk to the 'festival' grounds and easily done. Our first stay was on the ground floor while our most recent was on the fourth floor. Both rooms were more than satisfactory and quite comfortable with good showers, a fridge & coffee maker. Our stay included free breakfast which was a self serve buffet and had all we wanted, except bacon (oh well). The food was good and allowed us to face the day well nourished and smiling. The cost was not cheap but neither was it very pricey either. We plan on staying there from now on when we visit Orillia. The only issue was a somewhat noisy air conditioner but that may have been the fault of the previous occupants trying to fiddle with it. This is a great hotel if you want access to the 'narrows' between Lakes Simcoe & Couchiching.

I recently visited Orillia for a concert at Casino Rama and enjoyed my stay at this hotel. The proximity to Casino Rama is excellent and, though the rooms are standard, the customer service was outstanding. From the second we stepped foot in the lobby through to the moment we checked out, the front desk staff was exceptional. Paul helped us check into our room and was cheerful and helpful. The process was efficient and painless. Laura helped us as we checked out of the hotel and was also very helpful and pleasant. It is hard not to enjoy your stay when the staff is so outgoing. The continental breakfast was also enjoyable. There was plenty of food for everyone, and it was constantly being refilled to ensure it was warm and fresh. While the selection was limited, it was very convenient and we appreciated the option.

Nice room great service amazing staff. the place was clean the room was huge no g size bed mini kitchen large sitting area. my husband and I loved this place and have stayed here the last 3 concerts here.

Booked through Air Miles, arranged for late arrival, asked for North facing room. I suspect we got one of the rooms saved for people who don't book direct with BW. faced South, very busy 24/7 hwy 150 ft away, ice maker and vend machine/side entrance 30 ft from our door. It's now a "pet friendly" place, so the myriad of stains have an explanation. We've stayed here numerous times before (booked direct through BW) and had no complaints. Now, the free breakfast is tasteless, except for the bacon, and stale...bagels, muffins, bread/toast felt 2 days old. A/c worked well and reasonably quiet, love seat/sofa was comfortable, tv remote or cable box nearly useless, bed mattress so-so. In future the only way I'd stay here is if guaranteed a second floor, north facing room. It makes more sense to stay somewhere cheaper and go out for breakfast at a real restaurant (there's one 50 metres away that gets a good crowd every morning)

We had a golf tournament up in Orillia, so we stayed at the Couch Best Western....Rooms were decent and clean, so no complaints on that front. For a Friday night, I wish the restaurant didn't close so early though. Anyway, we went out, so it was fine.

We were very impressed with the clean well kept hotel. This is the best breakfast included that I have had in a long time at a hotel. They were quite efficient when filling requests we had like supplying a cot. We would definitely book this hotel again.

Great location, close to the water and nice trails nearby. Easy to get to the casino, less than a 10 minute drive. Friendly staff and good breakfast. The hotel is a bit dated but comfortable and clean.

There were aspects of this hotel which I found disappointing. Despite the claim that it has been recently renovated it seemed tired and dated. It allows pets but somehow this made me wonder if this was why there were stains on the carpet in both the hallway and our room. Additionally the elevator looked like it was in need of a good scrubbing and a bit of stainless polish. Having said this the room was a good size and the bed, comfortable with clean sheets. The staff were very nice and polite and the breakfast was pretty good. It is one of the most expensive hotels to stay at in Orillia and yet somehow this is not reflected by it's somewhat grungy appearance and the views from its windows which reminded me of staying in a roadside motel in the middle of abandoned construction site.

We stayed for just one night here, but the room was clean and comfortable. The staff were very friendly. The morning breakfast offered was probably one of the best that we've experienced in this type of hotel. Lots of variety, fresh, and the person preparing the breakfast, Jerry, she was awesome! Would recommend.

Average room with an above average price. There was nothing outstanding about this place. The staff was courteous. The breakfast was average. The prices in the restaurant were outrageous. The parking lot had the biggest pot holes I've ever seen. No elevator to the side of the hotel we stayed. We had to carry our luggage up to the second floor but there was an elevator on the other side.

Excellent location, very closed to Casino Rama. Great value and great looking hotel with excellent customer service! Front stuff was extremely warm and friendly making our stay wonderful! Free hot breakfast is a bonus as well! Will definitely go back and recommend friends and family!!

We stayed here one night on our way up north. The hotel is conveniently located off highway 11, is in excellent condition. The room was clean, comfortable, and quiet. The breakfast was very good, with an excellent selection. I definitely will stay here again if I travel here.

I've stayed in a lot of places but this place cost a wee bit too much for what was provided. The property is clean and well kept. The rooms are a bit dated but fairly clean. They forgot to clean out the garbage when we checked in but the room was clean otherwise. The jacuzzi rooms have the tub (corner tubs)in the main room close to the bed. Breakfast is typical (eggs, bacon, sausage and toast). There's the standard BW waffle maker and some yogurt and fruit (but just a little). It's a 2 maybe 3 star place but overpriced IMO. Other than the casino, not much else close by. The lake is within walking/biking distance and on a nice day, its pleasant but I'm not sure if I'd return here. I'd either find a nice Marriott further away or cheap motel if I wanted to stay in this area. I just did not find enough things there to justify their prices.

Overall stay was comfortable. We ate at the restaurant at dinner, and while the prices seemed a bit high, the food was delicious. Rooms were clean and well appointed, tons of coffee with the Kuerig machine in the room. Everything worked. Room was quiet even with noisy neighbours, Staff were pretty friendly and helpful. Overall price was a little high but was a long weekend, so can't expect the prices to be as reasonable.

All in all, a very good place to stay with a decent breakfast included in the price. Some gluten-free options available, not much, but the scrambled eggs are plain and quite good. Our room was clean and very luxurious, comfortable beds and we had a good-sized mini-fridge to put our stuff and freeze our ice pack. For the price we paid, this was expected. Restaurant staff was very friendly and attentionned to their customers. Would definitely recommend of you can spend the 220$. Free parking near the hotel, it was easy to get our stuff in and out. Near the junction of the two lakes, where we went to take pictures. We both had a wonderful time, no complaints!

My husband and I just enjoyed a one week stay say the Best Western Plus in Orillia. Overall we had a very pleasant stay and the hotel accommodated all of our needs. All of the staff we encountered were very friendly and helpful, especially the gentleman at the reception (sorry I didn't get your name!). We had a spacious room with a fireplace and microwave, and it was cleaned thoroughly everyday. I used the fitness facilities, and although the space was limited, the facilities were adequate. My husband enjoyed the complimentary breakfast each morning and said the food was very good. The hotel is located next to a lovely park by the lake with walking trails, which was convenient. We would certainly stay here again and highly recommend!

Best Western Plus was a 5 min. car ride away and cost one-third of of the $249. Rama wanted for a Concert night hotel for 2 with 2 beds. My daughter and I wanted to have a great weekend away seeing our favourite band Air Supply and some excitement with a little light slot play. With another hotel very close to Rama filled up weeks before concert, our next choice was the Best Western Plus in Orillia. It turned out the be fine but could have been better for someone who used a walker for longer walks. Parking was limited and a field in the back accommodated us finally half in a snow-bank. A bit of a way from the back door where there was no ramp for the walker and with the stoop about 7-8 inches off the ground. My daughter lifted walker in and I climbed in after. Room was clean, quiet and welcoming. But alas, later we found that mattress were most hard, the linens were difficult to get out of the bedding to open up the bed. We struggled and laughed and wondered who on earth had made this bed. Room got cold at night because we forgot to turn on the heat. When opening drapes in morning, a big open field lay in the back and not a nice Lake Couchiching as I thought. Breakfast was superb. Personnel there were smiley and happy in the morning. Bill got paid but not stamped paid, which bothered me a bit afterwards. But still, would use the hotel again, if occasion arose.

Absolutely best stay!!!! Norma Jean in the restaurant was super friendly, front desk staff were so friendly and the beds are super comfy!!! I love the layout of the building and complimentary parking and Wi-Fi

This is a great Hotel to at in Orillia. Great staff to take care of you.The restaurant serves great reasonably priced food. The rooms are nice and clean. You even get breakfast. Real breakfast with eggs and bacon! Unlike other chains that think breakfast is only cereal,muffins or pastries.

Because I am a Best Rewards member, was upgraded to a room with a fireplace. We could tell that it's not being used often because it was musty/dusty so we left the fan in the washroom on to change the air. The carpets were dirty in that room as well. Would have preferred to be upgraded to King size bed instead. Breakfast has a large variety of items and gets replenished on a regular basis. I have never seen such an array of items for breakfast & the two ladies were friendly and helpful. I think that breakfast should be extended until 11am on the weekends. Disappointed that if you want to take the shuttle to the casino that you have to pay extra it's $10 per person round-trip. Wifi worked for one day then not the next and I tried to call front desk & it ran about 10-15 times and no one answered - gave up.

This hotel is getting up there in age, but the owners/management clearly take pro-active steps to make sure it's not shabby or in disrepair. Our room appears to have been recently painted and the linens looked brand new. The room was a decent size. The fireplace was a nice touch at this time of the year. The only suggestion I would have for the room is to replace the shower curtain bar with a rounded/curved one so that the shower appears more spacious and the curtain doesn't touch you ( don't like that). As others have mentioned, the staff were excellent and exceeded my customer service expectations - not an easy thing to do. I would return.

Great hotel, close to Rama and very clean, staff were excellent and the food in the bistro was great. They went out of the way to help my friends who are vegan, will be returning the next time we are in Orillia !

This hotel has always been excellent in service and is the reason we always stay here when visiting Orillia. Very close to Casino Rama which was our reason for coming. Breakfast was excellent, everything full and very clean.

I return time after time to this hotel for the reasons in the title. The rooms are clean, the staff friendly, the restaurant provides good food and the breakfast meets our expectations. It is good to have something to rely on in the world of travel. This is one!

We stayed here over the Christmas holidays to be closer to family. The room was clean and very well appointed. The Keurig coffee maker was handy and the coffee pods (Timothy's) made a great cup of coffee. The staff were amazing, from the front desk to maid service to the breakfast room staff. They were very friendly and accommodating and couldn't do enough for you. Breakfast was excellent with a wide variety of hot and cold items. I loved the cheese omelet. They also serve dinner, but we spent time with family, so didn't eat here at night. The spa consisted of a large hot tub and a three person sauna which we used and enjoyed. There's also an exercise room with equipment. Although we were away from home for Christmas, this was an excellent place to stay.

I am traveling for 32 years but this was my first stay in the Best Western and I was quite impressed. The best part of this hotel is Staff, very humble, always ready to WOW the guest and very courteous. Rooms are good but decor can be improved a bit. In bathroom they have dispensers for the shampoo, soap and lotion, which personally I did not like. Breakfast selection is good and the restaurant seating area is spacious with nice ambient. Overall it a nice hotel to stay in Orillia!

We held our staff Christmas party for the second time at this hotel. The food was excellent, the staff is wonderful, the rooms are great and the bed is so comfy! We even had a fireplace in our room. Highly recommend.

First of all let me say that the staff were wonderful, friendly & accommodating. The room was terrible. We stayed in a pet friendly room. There were urine stains from previous pets all over the carpet. There really should not be carpeting in a pet friendly room. We've stayed in a lot of hotels with & without our dog. Pet friendly rooms usually provide us with a dog bed & dishes....nothing here. Just allowing pets, does not make it pet friendly. The room was is desperate need of updates. The curtains were torn to shreds, there was no closet, just a curtain over an alcove. It was really horrible & I couldn't wait to leave. I don't know what the other rooms were like but I would not take the chance & would tell everyone to stay elsewhere. The worst room I have ever stayed in.

Good place to stay when enjoying concerts at Rama. Buffet style breakfast is included with your room and there is free internet. We did not use the fitness room or the hot tub. There is no swimming pool.

My hubby and I spent 48 hours in a quiet peaceful place. The room was great-a 2-person whirlpool, fridge and microwave. Bar stools and a few dishes to allow us eat-in when we wanted to. Staff was helpful & friendly especially Paul and Laura. The free breakfast had many choices and was tastefully displayed. The only negative was that we couldn't extend our stay the extra night due to the hotel being fully booked. Well worth the $$$ and we will go back again--a clean and cheerful establishment, nestled in a quiet area of the town. if the weather had been better we would have spent more time outside.

Great service from the time we walked in until the time we checked out. Food and staff were great. The hotel was very clean and well worth the stop there. We were fortunate as well to have Best Western points saved so it was a free night for us. Would definitely visit there again.

The bad would be the carpets need cleaning and the dust webs over the lights need to be cleaned , the good would be excellent staff ,excellent breakfast and an excellent sleep . The beds were very comfortable, the staff was friendly and helpful and breakfast was very good .

Was warmly and professionally greeted by front desk clerk "Paul" who showed that this facility valued me as a diamond-level loyalty member. We were upgraded to Room 242, a king suite which had spa bath, fireplace and small kitchen, As usual, the king bed was very comfortable, room was clean, amenities generous and the complimentary breakfast quite appetizing (eggs, sausage and bacon, fried potato, and the usual range of juices, cereals, baked items, etc). The breakfast room itself was pleasant, the service staff helpful. Wifi was fast and parking was plentiful. Checkout was equally efficient and professional. The location of this hotel has much to recommend it, both being adjacent to Lake Simcoe and Couchiching, many trails, parks, and of course, just a 10 minute drive from Casino Rama. I believe the hotel has been recently upgraded, and it showed. The staff are well-trained and one minor problem I encountered after stay was promptly rectified on notification. We will stay here again.

Six of us (two rooms) stayed overnight for a show at the Casino. Very impressed with the cleanliness, the free breakfast (amazing) all you could ask for eats and the overall friendliness of the whole staff.

The hotel was clean, rooms were nice. I found all the staff cheerful and accommodating. The restaurant service was good as well as the food. They offered a bus to take us to the casino which was only $10 for both ways. It ran until midnight, which was great didn't have to worry about traffic after the concert. Overall one of the nicer best westerns I have stayed at.

This hotel was built when the style was to drive up to your door as a motel, however, after many years of staying there I saw that it was redecorated and updated as much as possible. The staff were very helpful and the bed was comfortable. I felt it had been well updated since my last stay. It meets the standards I expect from Best Western.

Everything was perfect with the exception of the most uncomfortable nights sleep we have ever had in a hotel. King size bed gave us both back and neck pain from being worn out. We had an extra $100 added to our bill that did not match the checkout bill we received. Could be a room deposit but we were not informed of one. Waiting for the weekend transactions to process before making a call.

Good overnight stay , had a king suite , good sized room , nice fireplace, furniture is a bit dated , Small hot tub and sauna area is available but no pool. Location is ok , beside walking/bike trail , access to lake area , too far to walk into town.

I have stayed at this hotel in the past and try to book a room here whenever I am in Orillia. The rooms are clean. The food is great. The location on the edge of Orillia is excellent. Access to both lakes is quick and painless. Access to Orillia Soldiers Hospital, where I had a service call was quick. The only disappointment was learning that the Portage Restaurant on site is closed on Monday nights. The selection and quality of their food items is exceptional.

Stayed last minute as I did not feel like driving any further. I checked in last minute and they gave me a nice CSPA rate. Ted at the front desk was very pleasant, cordial and professional. My room was comfortable king with a couch and nice work station area.Bed was comfortable and the room and property were clean. Unfortunately, restaurant/ bar closed Monday nite. Open for decent complimentary breakfast fare. Close to Casino Rama. I will return.

Stayed here for a concert at Rama. They had a shuttle starting at 5:30 pm, unfortunately, we had dinner reservations at 4:30. They also charge for shuttle anyways. Hotel and rooms were clean. Had fridge, coffee maker and microwave which were handy. Had hot tub but wasn't open late enough. Breakfast was great except wish there were more gluten free items available. Would stay here again.

We are retired, so we spend many nights in hotels in various countries. The comfort of the bed and pillows was amazing. Room was very clean and smelled fresh. Hotel staff at the front desk were outstanding. Did not see another staff therefore I cannot comment. We will be back again.

Great place to stay if you are attending Casino Rama for concerts or weddings. Clean, well appointed rooms. The staff is most helpful and friendly. The breakfast room doubles as an Italian restaurant so the decor is quite inviting.

Good location. Only 20 minute drive to the casino. Easy to find hotel. Newly renovated lobby. Very friendly staff. Very large room with 2 beds, microwave, and mini fridge. Luxurious duvet and lots of pillows on comfy mattress. Decent free breakfast in the morning in a nice restaurant area. Would stay there again.

Overall our stay was excellent. We had room service for our meal on Friday night, and food was excellent. Having a microwave in room allowed us opportunity to warm up our food. Being able to use our BW points for free night stay ,makes BW my first choice in hotels. Pet friendly hotel is another key feature. Shuttle to Casino Rama, great service, for our evening out of entertainment too.

Stayed here to attend a show at the local Casino . arrived a little late so missed our shuttle to the Casino and immediately we were offered reduced taxi and free return shuttle vouchers. That type of service will make me return to this hotel. In addition , the staff went out of there way to ensure we parked at the closest possible parking spot for ease of entrance close to our room. The breakfast items were hot , well presented in a clean quiet dining area. Overall , not a single negative thing to say about this hotel, . Kudos to all the staff for their friendly kind helpful attitude.

Breakfast was very good for a Continental ,Petra that worked in there did an excellent job ,Very alert to what patrons needed . good shuttle service to Casino minimal fee. Staff accommodating to our needs when needed.

Super location, wonderful staff, very comfortable rooms. Everyone in my group (4) were pleased with both the service and the rooms. The attached restaurant even stayed open a little late to accommodate us, and served a very nice meal.

What a great spot, the pasta dishes are so good, also the soups and a great tenderloin, that we came back a second night. Congratulations to their chef Craig who is surely an upcoming star. Loved the calamari. The hotel staff were all approachable and helpful, the rooms comfortable and very clean, would recommend the entire experience and will surely come back again.

This is the best hotel in Orillia. the service, rooms, cleanliness, everything is top rate. Loved the shuttle serice to Casino Rama. We have stayed here a few times, and are always happy to have another reason to stay here.

We stayed at this location for a friend's wedding. The hotel staff were able to check us in early so we could get ready. The service was great and the bed was extremely comfortable! Only suggestion I'd make: make sure the hotel blinds are able to fasten completely.

Good sized room, king with sofa bed. Breakfast is included and was very good with eggs, bacon, sausage, waffles etc. Service was not good for cleaning the room, did not remove dirty dished or make the bed. Front desk apologized but did not offer any incentive to compensate. There is a shuttle to casino with a price.

The room was very damp and had musty smell. I reported this....their was a dehumidifier so there has been an ongong problem in this room. The breakfast was mediocre...eggs were dry and cold. The mattress was very uncomfotable

Comfortable place to stay. Great location, being very close to the Casino. Shuttle service offered at good price. Highly recommend restaurant for dinner. Great food and friendly service. No elevator to second floor which may be an issue for some people. They would have to ask for main floor rooms.

Hotel over priced for what you got. Breakfast was not hot and table not cleaned. Dinner special was very good with good service. Parking lot was not clean as gravel was all over. Old restaurant next door, did not add curb appeal to the hotel.

This is a great hotel to stay at..It is clean, the staff are caring, they have an excellent breakfast buffet...The rooms are very comfortable...Location convenient to everything...I would recommend this hotel , it has a very good restaurant & hiking trail right beside the hotel...

Stayed here as it is close proximity to Casino Rama. A shuttle service to the Cassini was provided with a 10$charge per person to the room. Staff were helpful and pleasant. Did not like that the shuttle was a school bus but either then that, I cannot complain as service was great

Our stay at this Best Western on August 21, 2017 was poor. Perhaps our standards were high, based on our stay here when it was called the Couchiching Inn. We stayed for 1 night, and We got 2 rooms, for my family, and my mother in law. The counter staff looked uninterested, only spoke enough to answer any questions, no smile, or welcoming attitude. The front desk, and lobby were under renovations, noise, dust, and odours, didn't make for a warm and cozy arrival. The hot tub was empty, thanks for the heads up when we booked rooms. We spoke directly to the hotel, for our reservations, and the casino shuttle, as advertised on the big outdoor sign, did not exist. It's always the little things, that make a big difference, won't be staying here again.

Across the street is a great walking trail to the beach and large park area. We packed a picnic lunch and enjoyed the outdoors before getting ready for a show at Rama. There are picnic tables, benches, a nice beach (yes, you can swim!) and beautiful scenery, just the right atmosphere for a relaxing afternoon. Stayed less than 24 hours; wished we had longer to enjoy other hotel amenities and the surrounding area. We will return again when watching a Rama concert! Hotel very easy to find at an interersection; also easy drive to Rama about 6 km away.

This hotel was exactly as advertised. The room was quiet, clean and beds were great. The breakfast had a nice array of everything you could wish for including excellent coffee. There was a small courtyard for eating outside. Staff were very pleasant and courteous. The location is good, close to shopping. casino and lake amenities.Will stay again whenever in the area.

This is our 3rd or 4th time staying at the BW Plus Orillia Hotel. We stay here while visiting Casino Rama as it is a short drive and we like to stay at Best Western Hotels because we can usually rely on them to be clean and comfortable. This hotel is no exception. It is showing its age a little but still very comfortable. This is the first time we have seen a "housekeeping request" form for what you would like done to your room if staying more than one night. As such we forgot to fill it out when we left for the day they just straightened out the bed covers and replenished the towels and coffee. That is fine for just two nights. Usually, when staying more than one night, hotels will leave the sheets for a couple of days but clean the rest of the room. We didn't visit the pool and hot tub area this time but if we recall from previous visits, it was quite nice. We didn't have dinner in the restaurant but did have breakfast both morning. It is included in the price as are most Best Western breakfasts and there was a decent variety. Unfortunately everything was quite cold on the first morning. That was likely a result of it being the last half hour of operation. All in all, we will stay here again if visiting the area and certainly recommend it over many of the other hotels we have stayed at in Orillia.

We arrived later in the evening for our stay, the person at the front desk was very pleasant and checked us in quickly, we were going to the casino for the evening and we didnt have much time for the next shuttle, about 15 minutes and asked if we thought we would make it for then, we let him know we would drive. He let us know about the breakfast buffet the next morning. There was a great variety of scrambled eggs, and sausage and bacon, you can make your own waffles and breads of different sorts, and pasties. Yogurt and fruits with different kinds of juices and cereal, milk. The room was a nice size and very clean and to us the beds were comfortable. I would definately stay here again and would recommend this place to anyone.

The hotel was the perfect location with an amazing breakfast and a great restaurant for supper. Wish we'd had a longer stay.A bit expensive for one night, 243.00 for one night but perhaps that was the website I used. Most hotels were sold out so happy to have a place - and it was amazing!

I decided to take my boyfriend away for his birthday this past weekend. I booked this hotel because there was supposed to be a free shuttle to the casino as well as in room movies. So I planned our weekend based on the things found within the hotel. Upon our arrival, we were told that there was no shuttle because of boots and hearts?? That made absolutely no sense. Why would the shuttle be affected by that? Their website did not specify any special info about there not being a shuttle. We get to our room (king room with fireplace and jacuzzi tub) settle in and when my boyfriend went to turn on the fireplace, the ENTIRE frame fell onto him. So we went to the front desk where the customer service was horrific. We said that the fireplace almost hurt my boyfriend and that we don't understand how (after double checking) there was no shuttle and no in room movies as specified on the website. The guy at the front desk simply said sorry & that's all. Definitely needs to learn to handle these situations better. We then went back upstairs just to be locked out of our room with a room key that was no longer working. Later that night, we wanted to grab dinner. We came downstairs just to see that the restaurant had closed down 2 HOURS early. So, upset and hungry, we had to hop into a taxi to get to the casino and had to eat in the extremely busy and loud restaurants there. This past weekend we spent 300 bucks on the room and still had to pay 50 bucks to get to and from the casino. What a huge waste of money. No one came to fix our fireplace. No one offered us compensation on the taxi. No one acknowledged any of our concerns during our stay. We were just told that the manager would be notified AFTER we had already checked out and left back home. I recommend to call and know what you're getting yourself into first because we wasted a bunch of money for nothing but a bed when we could have stayed at the Days Inn that was directly in front of the casino and cheaper. Disappointing.

Went to see Carlos Santana concert at Casino Rama and wanted to stay the night so we booked a room here as the Casino was booked up. Hotel is fairly close, approximately 5 minutes driving distance, and was a good place to spend the night. Perhaps a little pricey for the location.

Nice big room - some are bigger than others - and a good, typical breakfast. But the internet was very slow and dropped out a lot. It was an acknowledged problem and I didn't get the impression anything would (Could? Really?) be done about it. Also no printer, I guess it or the computer connected to it, was broken. Decent and lace but for the above.

Clean room, small but efficient restaurant for dinner, Standard cost for shuttle to Casino Rama, Shuttle did not have enough room for 10 extra people after the concert finished I might suggest an extra run at that time of night Front desk hospitable , Breakfast was delightful with limited seating.

This hotel was very clean and the staff very professional. It was only 10 minutes from the Casino and the shuttle to and from the casino was always on time. The hot breakfast offered surpassed our expectations. Very large selection and a very nice restaurant where you could sit down and eat. Not the typical "continental" breakfast offered in most hotels.

We had booked the room for the night as we were attending a show at Casino Rama. It is a very convenient location for this purpose. They offer a shuttle service to the casino, but it is only a 10 min drive if you didn't want to use it. When we arrived, we were pleasantly surprise to find out that we had been upgraded to the Jacuzzi/fireplace suite at no charge. The room was clean and spacious. Our interaction with the staff was wonderful. They were very courteous. All in all it was a fabulous night. I would highly recommend the Best Western Plus Orillia Hotel

This was a nice hotel but I could only give it a 3 rating. The price was a bit high for the quality. My bathtub was not clean and the carpet was dirty. It seemed that housekeeping did a quick surface clean. Not typical of the Best Western family in my recent experience. The beds were clean though and quite comfortable. The front desk attendant was kind and very accommodating. The free breakfast was satisfying and the servers were very attentive.

Great hotel. Perfect location, next to park and beach. Close to restrauants. Close to Rama Casino to go for the evening. Also won a little.Very helpful staff. Great breakfast. Great for pets. Would return anytime. One of the best Best Westerns in Ontario.

We stayed for two nights at this hotel for my daughters wedding. It was very clean and the staff friendly. It also had a good breakfast. We enjoyed our stay. It had a good location close to main highways and the water.

Friendly, helpful staff, a great room and night's sleep, and complimentary shuttle to see the concert at Casino Rama. Went for a quick trip to Rama to see a show. The staff at the hotel was very friendly and accommodating. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The food in the restaurant was excellent. I would stay there again.

A great Orillia location if downtown shopping, taking in the area sites, or enjoying the lakes and boating ....... Fantastic large king bed units with fireplaces, kitchenette area with m/wave and fridge ....... very clean comfortable and quite on our recent Friday night stay ....... a quick and easy drive to Rama at a much more affordable price point ... great complimentary breakfast within the Portage restaurant ...... sauna, pool and exercise room ....... highly recommended.

We love the location for our vacations needs with a boat. The Hotel has improved since last year on items I brought to their attention. Thank you BUT the big one for this time of year was the patio area that we like to enjoy while there. Get a Gardener folks. Weed and replace worn out furniture(or broken). Take a look around and appreciate the potential to improve without spending a lot of $. The young lady staff member at Breakfast needs to improve her attitude. Saying NO is not acceptable to a customer wanting something that was obtainable. The next morning the items should have been stocked. Disposable Coffee Cups and some mustard. Really not excusable folks. Over all we returned because the location and value were there.

I have been at this location several times every visit has been great, staff are super friendly and very helpful. close to beach with a splash pad area with water sprinklers for kids to play in. there is a sweet dreams location on the spot for the perfect ice cream

Recent stay to attend a family graduation. We had the best room yet and we are always pleased with this location. close to downtown Orillia, to the Narrows and to Rama if you want to visit the Casino.

Even though I live in the city of Orillia there are times when an elevator is broken or you just want a min vacay away from home and don't want to travel far. This is a great place whether you live near or far. Nice inside pool, great restaurant and the rooms are really nice.

Great overnight visit on our way to meet long lost relatives at Weslemkoon Lake after 60 years apart. One cousin contact led to another cousin and he made contact with 2 more and then a great surprise with the arrival of 2 more.

We went there twice to watch shows with family at Rama. Had great rooms the breakfast was awesome. The staff are so friendly the beds are very comfortable and the cleaning ladies are most friendly and very very abliging. Great parking spaces. Just wish they had buses leaving earlier than 5 o'clock so we the people who want the buffet at Rama need to be there before before 4;00. It would be nice if the buses could leave at 3;00. Overall excellent

We were two couples staying two nights. We enjoyed this hotel mainly because of its amenities. The included breakfast was very good and offered many alternatives. The hot tub was clean and well taken care of. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. One of our rooms (136) smelled like it might have been a smoking room awhile back. Our other room (113) was fresh smelling. Both rooms were well laid out and spacious. Overall, I would definitely recommend this hotel.

Pleasant staff, quick check in. Nice room and complimentary breakfast. Typical toast, cereal, bacon, bagels, danish, coffee. Nice make your own waffles station. Would have enjoyed fried eggs or omelet instead of scrambled eggs. Close to Casino-rama which was where I was attending a show. I did not try the restaurant because it seemed pricey. However the Cedar restaurant at the Casino was overly busy, pricey and I was very disappointed with the overall food and service. Perhaps, the Best Western should promote its onsite restaurant so that people would be encouraged to eat there and not elsewhere. Overall a good hotel.

Did not really like this hotel. It was old not much curb appeal and in awkward spot. This is the second Best Western we have stayed at this year and this one was only marginally better than the last. Has put us off staying at Best Western. Room clean bed not that comfortable and the covers very heavy.

Orillia has limited hotels that really impress, so thought we give this place a try. Location is a bit out of the way, although its a fifteen minute drive to the casino. Not central to shopping but gas station, convenience store and a fast food place nearby. Parking is limited and lot is difficult to maneuver. Hotel is in need of updating, as it appears 'well used' and smells quite stale inside. Room was reasonably clean, decor is dated, a refresh would be great. The restaurant in the hotel was ok, a small spot with a limited Italian focussed menu. Prices were expensive, and the restaurant was not as clean as I would like to see. Food was ok, but not memorable for the price. Service was typical of a diner, friendly and reasonably quick. There is a bar in the restaurant and avid sports fans were enjoying drinks and tv sports while couples try to enjoy a quiet meal. Breakfast was ok as far as hotel free breakfasts go, eggs, sausages, bacon, make your own toast and a juice fountain. Coffee was horrible, but hey, it was free! Front desk service was good, friendly and efficient. Overall, I think there may be better value for the money elsewhere, but I would stay here again if needed.

Pleasant stay during travel to Casino Rama. Hospitable staff. Complimentary breakfast, wifi, parking. Guest Business area however did not have a functioning guest computer. Walking trail and lake close by. Room has small fridge and microwave.

This hotel is clean, parking is free, breakfast is included, jacuzzi was a nice bonus and fitness room quite adequate. It is a very quick drive to Casino Rama. Couldn't take advantage of the shuttle service, as we were heading there before shuttle start time of 5:30pm. Rooms decor is from the 80's, but is not terrible. Front Desk staff were very helpful. Sink drained very slowly & toilet took forever to finish flushing - these issues were both reported at check out, so hopefully will be resolved quickly.

Stayed here for 2 nights since we were attending a concert at Casino Rama. Hotel was nice and clean. Staff was very pleasant upon arrival. Breakfast buffet was ok. Staff at breakfast were very nice. Parking was limited. Overall a nice stay but just found it a little pricey for what you get.

Played hooky from work to head to Orillia to catch a concert on the Thursday night. Was running a little late in arriving so called the hotel to let them know we were on the way and they assured us all was ready for whenever we arrived, so we went straight to the concert not having to worry. Arrived at the hotel afterwards and was met at the desk by friendly staff - just like we were long lost friends. Room was very comfortable, and clean. Slept well in the comfy bed and headed down to have brekkie. Good continental breakfast - saw the cook staff put out fresh cooked regularly. Quick check out and we were on our way...but we'll be back! Thanks Best Western Orillia!

I stayed at the best western plus for work. I normally stay at the days inn, but they were fully booked. I had a minor error with my room when I arrived, but Simon went above and Beyond to fix it and completely made up for it. The only negative is that Simon can't work 24/7 because the other staff were not the greatest. I called Ross to ask for help with the tub & he was not only rude, but refused to help me. I also asked if they had any moisturizer and he told me he didn't know or care. If Simon hadn't already been so wonderful, Ross would have ruined my entire experience.

I stayed here for work and the front counter staff were very friendly and courteous. The check in was very quick and the room was clean I did notice there were no cups in the room for coffee and the coffee area was not stocked The cleaning staff did a good job cleaning the room The breakfast supplies at the hotel was alright but it could have been better as the eggs were overcooked and the sausages were a button the dry side. The gym area us fairly small but serves its purpose and the pool looks decent but i did not get a chance to use it The person i went with found their room door left open after cleaning and thankfully nothing went missing. Overall it was a good experience and I would stay again.

We have stayed at this hotel a number of times and have consistently had excellent dinners, coupled with amazing service. We give compliments to chef Craig for his great creations. Our server Lori, was amazing and attentive. We highly recommend this property for a stay in Orillia.

I have stayed at this place a few times now with my father when we have come up to see a show at Casino Rama. It's a very comfortable hotel, certainly on par with the Days Inn across the road from the casino. There are many other reviews of this place, so I will mention what stands out for me if you're staying here for a night at Rama. Obviously, the location is not as convenient as the Days Inn, but it's only a 10-minute drive, plus they have a shuttle bus/limo, so that's not really a problem. A big point in favour of Best Western is their food: their breakfast buffet is head-and-shoulders above Days Inn (which only offers cold stuff plus these pre-formed egg "patties" to put on toast). BW gives you scrambled eggs, bacon, and sausages, plus the usual breads, pastries, yogurts, and waffle-maker. Moreover, BW serves this in its own restaurant, where you can have dinner as well, and you get a discount on the meal if you're a guest. My only small disappointment is that, while many BW properties participate in Air Miles, this one doesn't. They do give you BW Reward points, of course, but you can't use Air Miles to book here, nor do you collect Air Miles for your stay. Too bad. However, BW is usually 10-20 bucks cheaper than Days Inn (which doesn't give you Air Miles either). All-in-all, I prefer to stay at this place vs. Days Inn after a casino visit, because I get more benefit from this Best Western than I lose in the convenience factor from Days Inn.

We stayed here with friends for one night. Excellent hotel. Close by is a lovely walking trail that goes along the waters edge. The complimentary breakfast was excellent - many choices, very clean and they serve Starbucks coffee. The restaurant was closed for a private function but room service was available.

Will definitely stay here again. Portage Restaurant for dinner and service were good two out of the three times we went. Perhaps it was a bad day that time. Location is close enough to the Casino if you want to use the shuttle or taxi services.

I really liked this hotel, the layout of the rooms, the hot tub and sauna was a great touch, the Italian restaurant was wonderful and all the people at the front desk and restaurant were fabulous. Simon the General Manager was even so kind to drive us to the casino as the shuttle had just left. He was just getting off duty and offered to take us...now that is premier customer service at its best. Our shuttle bus driver we got to meet on the way back and he was such fun...let us take pictures and drove us to the hotel safely and even on his way back from hotel to get back to casino he dropped us off in downtown Orillia for some food and drinks. He was just the greatest driver ever with a wonderful personality. Everyone was fabulous,,,even the front desk agent asked us if we had anything to offer him that would make our stay better...I couldn't think of a thing. The room was nice and clean, the beds with the wonderful pillows (and lots of them, I usually have to call down for more) I slept great and wished I had another day just to visit the waters that are all over Orillia and have a nice Italian dinner at the hotel restaurant as the food looked amazing. To top of the pro's of this hotel, they provided a hot breakfast...not just buns and bread or donuts but eggs, bacon, sausage, fruit, drinks, cereal, waffles....it was wonderful. Thanks again Simon for your hospitality and you have a wonderful group of employees working under you, that shows a lot about how you run your business. Hope to see you again as ill definitely stay there even though there are closer hotels to the casino---your place is 2nd to NONE. Until then, both Johnny and I say HI.

The entire hotel is tired and needs to be updated, bed old, breakfast has lots but food low quality box eggs, not great sausage only apple and orange for fruit. I was expecting a 4 star experience but this is more like a 2.5.

It was alright overall. Hotel was clean and staff welcoming. The breakfast was hot and fresh. The rooms need some updating and refreshing. Didn't find the room to be as clean as it should have been and the beds were very uncomfortable. Personally I wouldn't stay there again.

So I like to sum up all my reviews so it is concise, here is my experience Stayed here when seeing a concert at Casino Rama. Booked this on Expedia. price was 67 dollars less then the Casino Booked at this hotel as it advertised free shuttle to the Casino and Free hot breakfast Check in: Splitting the room with my girlfriend not easy...Was told to pay debit they would take an additional $100.00 for a security deposit. ???? A credit card normally suffices? We asked about the shuttle and were told it started at 5:30 pm and stopped at midnight. So we told them no problem we would book a cab for the way there. Then we were told we could only book it if it was round trip and the cost was $10.00..again not what is advertised Had book 2 queens got one king..thank god we like each other. The temperature in the room was 59 degrees and there was an odd odour in the room. We had limited time as check in had taken 20 min and we had to be at the Casino for 4pm (dinner reservations) So we had to pay $25 each way for a cab. Beds are comfortable and the rooms are clean. Breakfast was good however the warmers need to be turned up a bit as food is pretty much cold once you get to a seat. In all I would stay at the casino in a heart beat over booking at this hotel. I just don't like to feel fooled by what is advertised. I could have saved the hassle and been at the hotel not worrying about getting there via taxi and only saving $17 bucks

The Hotel was very easy to find. The staff were wonderful at check-in. The rooms were clean and spacious. We were only 10 mins from Casinorama which we found very convenient. The breakfast was very good in the morning. Overall I would recommend this hotel for business or pleasure.

Stayed at the Best Western because we went to a Concert at Rama. Check in was very fast, room was clean and the BEDS SO COMFY!!!! Breakfast was FREE and had lots of options. We chose to go to the front desk and check out ...again check out was very fast and easy. Spoke to all the staff we meet during our stay and they were all very friendly and helpful. Will defiantly come back nest time we come to RAMA!

Would definitely recommend this hotel, greatly enjoyed our stay. Was a good location for us for a trip to Penetanguishene and Midland area and not far from casino Rama. Lots of parking, easy to get in and out.

We had a great stay here! We were greeted by Paul who immediately made us laugh and went above and beyond to make our stay great. He was so friendly, personable and kind and made our stay far more special. We left early on our last night before breakfast was served and when I let them know they put together a breakfast take away bag so we had something to eat on our early morning travels! The room and common areas were clean and the hospitality was wonderful!

This place was close to my event. It included a good breakfast and was on the highway back home. For this time of year the room seemed expensive. There were several places at half the cost but I paid for the convenient location for my needs. The room was a typical 2 bed hotel room including microwave, fridge, free Wi-Fi that you would normally expect. One of the two beds was soft in the middle (read "old and needed replacing") I slept in the other one so it did not matter. The TV remote worked sporadically. The room was clean and the staff were friendly and helpful I might consider the "off-highway" side as there was a fair amount of highway noise. All in all the stay was OK

Saw Gordon Lightfoot Great hotel, close to casino... we always stay at this hotel when we go to see concerts at casino Rama, is very clean and the service is very good at the staff is very friendly and we would definitely go back

Expensive for what you get. Could smell stale cigarette smoke in halls and entrances, and Lysol to try and mask it. Needs a facelift. Paint and carpets. Furniture in room was tacky. Lights burnt out in bathroom. Couldn't get internet to work. No elevator. Stay somewhere else and pay less for this level of hotel.

Stayed at the hotel for business reasons. Price versus quality this hotel is very good. Basic breakfast, but as it is complementary, that was no problem. Rooms are a bit old, but all comfort is present. Personnel was extremely friendly and helpfull.

I was fortunate to get a room as there were only two left when I called to book it. The gentleman on the phone was pretty awesome, very pleasant, and a great sense of humour! When we met him at the hotel to sign in, he was every bit the same as he was on the phone. The front desk staff is great! The three of us walked into the room and was very pleasantly surprised by the size of the room. Very spacious! It was clean, and the only thing we found missing was the DO NOT DISTURB sign. The bed... super comfy! :) I would have no hesitation to stay again, but if I were planning on using the hot tub I would ask for a room closer as we were almost the furthest point away, which was quite a walk for my parents.

We always stay here when we visit family in Orillia. Paul Carlos, the front desk clerk, is personable, very helpful and treats us like family when we call to book a reservation and check in. The rooms are clean and the hot breakfast is an added bonus. The hotel is located next to the Gordon Lightfoot Trail. It is a beautiful, peaceful walk and showcases the bronze statue in his honor. We wouldn't stay anywhere else.

We stayed there last night and we loved it ! Comfy bed, clean room , friendly service but most of all great restaurant. Had the steak special and it was perfect ! Best stay we've had in a long time. Also went to Casino Rama and had lots of fun. Truly worth the visit.

The rooms are very comfortable and well appointed. The staff a friendly and attentive. And the breakfast is more than our normal muffins and toast, they also have waffles and other goodies. Myself and a few friends stay there whenever we go to Casino Rama to see a show. I would highly recommend this hotel.

The hotel was in a quiet setting close to the water, walking paths, lakes etc.. It was an average hotel needs updating. But good service. Breakfast was okay not the best. Overall an average property. Our room was clean.

room was excellent.... large and excellent decor slept comfortably and was not disturbed by any noise refreshing getaway. There was even a shuttle to take you to the Casino and back...Breakfast in the morning was adequate and the staff were excellent

The staff here were focused on making our stay fun and easy. They explained all the benefits such as breakfast, shuttles to the casino, dinner spots etc. The room was well set out. We had an issue with the fireplace but that was ok. We found the location was central to our activities and still quit enough to enjoy the quite hours. I have stayed in hotels that are filled with kids running around and being kids. This hotel had an older group and the children we did see were behaving appropriately. Over all we had a great visit and a wonderful meal at their restaurant which was priced fairly and the food was fresh and yummy!

If planning to see a show or attend Casino Rama, this hotel is a good option. Away from the downtown area, minutes from Casino Rama, and surrounding area filled with walking paths, Lakes, great for your pet too.

The hotel is on a narrows that separates Lake Simcoe from Lake Couchiching. It faces Highway 12, which is fairly busy since it's the only road that crosses the lakes for many kilometres. There's nothing particularly attractive about the setting -- the highway, a gas station -- although directly west you'd have access to Tudhope Park, a waterfront park. Probably the reason most people stay here is because it's halfway between downtown Orillia and Casino Rama. From the exterior it looks like what it is, a two-story motel of dated design with a parking lot and a large sign. When we checked in n the Thanksgiving weekend, the managers of the hotel seemed to be having some bad luck. So maybe we shouldn't judge them too severely, but from a guest's point of view, a good management is prepared for bad luck. The hotel was full, and it turns out that they don't have enough parking spaces, and we had to squeeze into an unmarked space. When we arrived, the hotel's computers were down, which meant that people at the desk weren't entirely sure which rooms were actually vacant, and a line began to build. The people at the desk, while nice enough, showed the strain. A related problem was that no wi-fi was available at all, and, as seems to be customary in this kind of situation, no discount was offered to people who had been attracted here partly by the promise of free wi-fi. (I see that elsewhere among the reviews for this hotel on Tripadvisor the management apologizes for faulty voicemail. Technology doesn't seem to be its strong suit.) Our room was a pretty standard sort of motel room; it was clean, though a bit worn, and the toilet ran the entire time we were there. There were no glasses in the room, just super-flimsy plastic cups and paper cups. There's a nice though somewhat overpriced restaurant on the premises, with about eight tables. The staff there, too, was a bit overwhelmed, and warned us when we came in that we could expect to wait half an hour for our dinner from the time that someone took our order. And it took about ten minutes for anyone to take our order. Again, the staff was friendly enough and I think pretty efficient, but there's a management problem if the restaurant has so much trouble handling eight tables. The price was $175 plus tax with a CAA discount, which seemed pretty steep for the middling quality and the annoyances.

We stayed at this hotel Saturday night. The hotel itself is quite a bit tired and old-fashioned looking, the room was clean and big, but stuffy and somehow musty. Everything would need updating and freshening up. This being said, the staff are trying hard, everyone was personable and friendly. Our request not to be on the ground floor was gladly accommodated, our thanks for that. The free breakfast is adequate. I had cereal with additional nuts and raisins (only whole or skim milk available, I wonder what happened to the 2%), there were scrambled eggs, bacon and sausage, waffle batter to make your own waffles, bagels, muffins and porridge. They could offer more fresh fruit, some cold cuts and cheese, but overall, having 'free' breakfast is appreciated. The female staff person was very helpful and hardworking, greeting guests, directing them to the not-so-easy-to-find coffee station and cleaning tables. I did not mind disposable plates and cutlery at breakfast (or plastic disposable cups in the bathroom) I prefer not to worry about how well these were sanitized after the previous guest and I guess it works for the hotel as well not having to clean them. We were attending a concert at Casino Rama and noticed a shuttle leaving the hotel. Keep in mind that the shuttle is actually a school bus. We drove, but if you do not mind taking a school bus to the casino, this could be a good option to get there. The location is very convenient to the casino, it took us about 10 minutes. Overall, the hotel is average. Staff are working hard, but the tired decor really brings it down.

The rooms are huge and very well maintained if a little dated. The room has a great kitchenette, an office area and a huge bedroom area. This hotel is a little older and looks a little tired from the outside. Don't let that fool you, this was a really good place to stay. Front desk staff were great both at check in and check out. A wonderful breakfast is included with your stay. Free wifi which is very important when travelling for business. This hotel does have a restaurant on site. Also the location makes it really easy to get out in the morning without going through Orillia. For those going to the casino, it is literally 10 min down the road.

This hotel needs updating. The beds are extremely uncomfortable and the furniture in the room look old. The carpet looks dirty. The breakfast however is very good. There is a good selection of breakfast items including waffles. The hotel is close to places to eat and the casino

We go fairly often to Casino Rama to see great concerts. We have stayed at this hotel on quite a few occasions. It is well appointed, the rooms are large with extremely comfortable bedding and spotless. Breakfast included is always nice. However, we'd like to suggest a few changes. It would be great to get rid of all that plastic, glasses in the room and even the cutlery at breakfast. But at least it was good to see recyclable boxes in the room. Check in was super slow, not sure why, but the charming Connie was very funny and helpful as was Paul. We were disappointed that the restaurant was closed on Sunday and Monday in the evening. We'd expected to have dinner there. Unfortunately once we arrived at Casino Rama there was not a single restaurant that wasn't jammed pack, hence no dinner. Thankfully we'd had a late lunch. But a staff member from the resto did call me to apologize. I suggested they put a recording on their phone so that when we called for reservations, which I did, I'd have known in advance that the resto and bar were closed. Other than that it was a pleasant stay and we'll go again. Colin the shuttle driver (to the concert) was very nice. We appreciated the shuttle instead of taxis.

Very friendly hotel. Clean and comfortable rooms. Beds were very nice.Very easy to get to and near to city centre. This was a great 2 day stay. We really enjoyed the hotel The hot tub was very nice. Not too hot as some of them can be. Lots of parking.

Needed a place to stay when we went to a show at the nearby casino. Friendly staff. Rooms are clean and neat and the beds are comfortable. Good to have a microwave and mini fridge for snacks. I wish that there were real cups vs paper for the coffee maker. Bathroom is clean and it is a quiet location. Wallpaper and decals on the walls in the hall and room are somewhat dated--needs a little face lift. Very close to the casino and has a shuttle bus.

Have stayed here for nine years ,twice a year on golf stay and play packages. Best value for nights stay with excellent breakfast. Great location, approximately half way between golf course and casino Rama.

Enjoyed staying at the hotel. The staff were extremely helpful and witty. Food in the restaurant was great, as was the breakfast. Must say that Orillia itself was not particularly nice, but we only stayed at the hotel on last leg of our journey.

Booked this little hotel for one night to catch a show at Casino Rama. Front desk staff and check in were delightful - easy going and friendly. I booked the 'last' room they had the previous day over the phone so I was a little concerned as to what the 'last' room might be like…it was WONDERFUL. Exactly as pictured on line. Very comfortable bed, spotlessly clean bath, well equipped room with mini fridge, microwave, coffee maker - didn't use any of this for my one night, but for a stay of 2 or more days it would be very much appreciated. OH and a giant TV and wifi. I was very pleasantly surprised. Took the shuttle to the Casino and back and that really is a nice thing this hotel does. Breakfast the next morning was okay - coffee quite good, a quiet little outdoor courtyard to sit in the sun was nice too. The hotel is right on a trail system - bring your bike, go for a walk - beautiful park within a few minutes, water at the end of the street. A 5 minute walk around the corner you'll find Bridge Port Marina, nice to wander around there too. I really enjoyed my stay and would be happy to check in again.

We stayed at BW a total of 3 nights on this mini vacation. The total experience was awesome. The rooms were very clean, the hotel staff was fantastic and eager to please. We would recommend this BW to anyone!

We had two room, for 2 nights, mid-week. Pricing good thanks to a very, very polite and caring "bride-to-be" receptionist. As return guest the rooms really need updated with fresh wall paint The rooms had an odour that really smelt like second hand smoke. Weird for non-smoking rooms. Attention to corners a must in the bathrooms. Shower curtain rod kept falling down. Beds comfy with lots of pillows. The hallways were never tidy and needed vacuuming. The Hot Tub area was in need of attention to cleanliness. The rule of no one under 16 was a little over the top. Kids should be accompanied by an adult, would be reasonable, especially when the hotel had no pool. Numerous posted notes left in rooms directed at guest were above and beyond necessary. Too bad the Inn has had idiots for guest in the past. Breakfast good. Fresh eggs and real bacon. Waitress friendly and helpful. Dinner menu not geared to a family, nor the pricing. The patio needed sweeping, cobwebs removed, cigarette butts picked up and furniture repaired. The grounds all around the property had litter and lots of butts. Gross folks! Lots of room for improvement. Details are important.

Travelled to Orillia with my eighty something Mother Sept 2nd 2016 and we had a lovely stay in this hotel. Friendly staff and clean rooms. I made a reservation in the Hotel's Portage Italian Bistro for us and the special for the evening was a Rib Steak but it came with Garlic Mashed Potatoes. My Mother has digestion issues and Craig the Chef made her regular mashed to go with her steak. This small gesture meant so much to me...my Mother enjoyed her meal very much...Amanda our waitress was lovely and her service was excellent I will stay at this Hotel again and I highly recommend it.

I am a Travel Agent so I have pretty high standards for hotels. I didn't have much expectation as I just needed a clean place to stay for 2 nights. This hotel was great. it is clean, well maintained, great staff that is so polite and friendly. I was truly impressed! And they have a full hot breakfast that included waffles, bacon, eggs, potatoes and oatmeal along with the usual bagels/toast, cereal and yogurt. It was well stocked and very clean. As well, the hotel, while out of the downtown core, is right next to a trail that is a great walking/biking path and can take you right downtown. And the hotel is next to Tudhope park which houses the Gordon Lightfoot statue and you can walk the trail right to the statue. Also less than 10 min drive to Casino Rama. Thanks for a great stay and I hope that anyone in the Orillia area stays here. I know I will be recommending it to my clients!

Really clean and modern room. Small kitchenette (microwave, sink, bar fridge, etc). Great bed. Restaurant on site had very good food and atmosphere. Great service at restaurant. Excellent front desk staff made check in and out quick and painless. Shuttle service to Rama from hotel was available and totally worth the small fee. Will definitely be staying here again in the future.

We arrived at the hotel on a Friday afternoon as we had tickets to see CCR at Casino Rama. My husband had broken his ankle in Parry Sound on the way to Orillia. We spent 4 hours at Emerg. at the Parry Sound Hospital. By the time we arrived at the hotel, we were exhausted and stressed out. We inquired if we could stay a 2nd night. Paul at the front desk was amazing. He said we couldn't get the same room, but he would see what he could do. The next morning I discovered that he had ensured that we could stay in the same room, so I wouldn't have to pack up everything and move. I was beyond relieved and extremely impressed with Paul that he would go out of his way to accommodate us. He remembered my name throughout the stay. We were so impressed with the hotel, the cleanliness, the comfort of the bed, the beautiful suite and the proximity to everything including Casino Rama. On a whim (which we never do), we decided to stay a 3rd night! This was due entirely to Paul who gave us a good rate on the room; and his above & beyond service, friendliness and general accommodating demeanour. We would not hesitate to stay at this hotel again. Probably one of the best mini vacations we've ever had (despite the fact that my husband broke his ankle) so that is saying alot. We took advantage of the free breakfast there every morning and it was perfect. Plenty of bacon, eggs, and hashbrowns. They also provided muffins, cereal, bagels, bread for toast and waffles. The coffee was some of the best we've had. The staff at this hotel, especially Paul went out of their way to make us feel comfortable and I cannot express how much this meant to us. We will definitely stay here again. Great hotel, and wonderful staff. Ben at the front desk was also very nice and recommended a restaurant to us - Theo's, which was great. Amanda in the restaurant was super friendly to us when we had dinner at the restaurant there the first night. We had a suite with a King Bed, whirlpool tub, fireplace and kitchenette. This was perfect and made for an enjoyable, relaxing vacation. We both slept well at this hotel, which is very rare for us. Our mattress was perfect. The staff here are wonderful and we greatly appreciated them.

All staff we encountered were very polite , helpful and seemed to make sure our experience was the best. We did have some issues with connecting to the Internet from our room. Not sure if it was my tablet or connection. But not a deal breaker. The thing that sold me on this place, and my new current mission in life to find, was the bed and pillows. One of the most comfortable sleeps I've had in my life. And with some current health issues. It was like a million dollar sleep. The pillows were equally amazing. The breakfast was quite delicious and filling. Better then we expected. This will definitely be our go to hotel when we go to shows at Rama..

Paul at reception was amazing....! Was with some friends going to Rama for a concert that started at 9pm. and we were not sure if we were calling a cab to get there or what.. Paul let us know there was a shuttle and the times it came and went. We had just missed the shuttle and the next one was at 8:30 so decided to eat in the restaurant on site ( not the best, but alright). When it was getting close for the shuttle Paul came and found us in the restaurant to let us know he was holding it for us until we were ready! then he also gave a coupon to get a cab home incase we missed the last one. Which we did so it was awesome that we had a that coupon! Paul was full of great information and very helpful! Thanks Paul

What you see if exactly what you get in your standard room but those beds are to die for pillow top you never want to leave them. Service with a smile and friendly staff make this hotel award worthy every time!! Breakfast was huge and satisfying I could have taken a tray back to that wonderful bed and stayed another day. Thanks to all for making my stay so great I'll see you in September

We have stayed at this hotel many times and just love it. The staff are very friendly. The hot tub is very nice. The only thing missing is a pool. Would love it if the restaurant had a better menu for dinner

The hotel is very close to all the places we went to. Very clean, quiet location. The staff are very friendly, professional and helpful. The breakfast had lots of selection and the food was hot. Very clean.

We have chosen Best Western Couchiching as our preferred stay in Orillia. There are no surprises. The rooms are clean and spacious - if perhaps getting a little tired. The staff are competent friendly and knowledgeable about the area. It is close to the casino but more importantly for us is its proximity to the Gordon Lightfoot walking trail along the lake. It has a great location and we will return.

This hotel met all of our expectations. We stayed here for the Subaru Race series held at the Couchiching Park and this hotel has the bike trail right behind it all the way to the park, which is about 5 klms away. This was perfect, as we could ride there without being on the streets. The trails are awesome, felt completely safe, people were friendly especially at the hotel! The parks nearby were great for kids, lots of things to do. breakfast was plentiful!!! Bacon, eggs, hashbrowns, muffins, waffles, juices, cartons of soy milk, fruit........so much!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The hot tub looked good and the sauna but we didn't use it. Very helpful staff, would definitely stay again. Clean rooms, a little dated furniture but comfortable rooms, beds. The large fridge and microwave are perfect! Hotel was pretty quiet for a hotel. Overall extremely pleased!

Stayed at this location before when I had a race to attend with my sister in Wasaga Beach. This year she had a race in Orillia. The park was just a 10minute drive or less and easy to get to. Easy to get to the Casino Rama also The breakfast would be better if it started earlier on the weekend, but since we only participated in part of the race, we able to make it back by 10:30 to grab some breakfast before it closed. Staff were friendly - the carpets and chairs in the room need a little TLC - bed was comfy if you like soft mattresses.

great hotel hotel have stayed at this location several times in the past couple of years love it enjoy the hot tub. Close to downtown and the beach. will be back again they even have a shuttle bus to the casino all staff are great the lady at the front desk helped me get internet on my phone while she was working

My husband and I stayed here for two nights. We stayed in a fireplace/whirlpool room with a kitchenette. The room was quite spacious, clean and comfortable. Location was right next to the beach and a nice trail right behind the hotel. Easy to get to from highway and close to the casino. Free breakfast wasn't bad. Offerings of egg, sausage, bacon, potatoes, waffles, cereal, toast, yoghurt, coffee, tea, juice and milk. Gym was underwhelming, but thankfully, I was the only one in there and it did the job. Typical size for this type of inn. Great value if you're looking for a short stay.

The room was spacious and clean. The bed was very comfortable. Both TV and internet were in excellent working order. It's a nice place to be at after a hot and humid day of golf. Breakfast quality was great and coffee was excellent. The staff kept the restaurant very clean and orderly.

This is a great place to stay. Very clean and friendly staff. There are two beaches close by, one is located five minutes walking distance from the hotel and the other is about seven minutes via car. Breakfast is included with your stay and it provides a variety of breakfast items, cold and hot. I would recommend this hotel to others.

WE checked into this best western hotel. Front staff was very helpful in suggesting a restaurant downtown. Room was good. The breakfast supplied was called a full breakfast. But, it was the usual hotel , eggs, bacon, sausages, toast etc etc. Price was good for casino hotel which was about 10 minutes down the road.

Decent rooms if somewhat dated. Good hot breakfast in a area with lots of tables. Friendly staff but it took a while to check in as the desk staff was socializing with the group that checked in just ahead of us. We just wanted a quick check in and to get to the room as soon as possible. . Very expensive on certain dates. Book ahead.

Did book on onine for the BW Marino's as it had a pool. Imagine my surprise when I was told the reservation was for the next day. Hahaha. Anyhow, the clerk on duty called over to BW Couch and snagged us the last room. More than I wanted to pay but King bed with sofa area. There were others at more money. Breakfast made up for it as it was varied. Lots of choices that include: bacon, sausages, scrambled eggs, home fries, waffles, cereal, oatmeal, bagels, toast, three juices and the list goes on. We used the Seven person hot tub and sauna. Nice. Exercise room was not used us but had alot of equipment. Clean place. Stay here again. Yes.

Its a very clean and nice hotel. it has a restaurant on premise and offers a free continental breakfast. Its very close to the Casino Rama or any eatery places. Its very clean place and the staff are very friendly and polite. I would definitely go back there again.

Super clean, friendly staff, comfy rooms,continental breakfast was beyond expectations, price is good (compared to others in area) close to Casino ($20 cab fare away)... what else can you ask for? It was a perfect over-nighter with the family!...

Breakfast was good with a great amount of choices. Hot and cold and everything was fresh. Rooms were clean. If I had any complaints about the room it would be that the air conditioning unit is very, very noisy to the point where it kept waking me up.

It's a very nice hotel and close to the Casino but seeing how most of their business comes from the Casino I would think the shuttle would be included in the price of the room. The beds are comfy, rooms are very clean and the staff very nice.

This hotel was very clean and the staff were friendly and helpful. There is a restaurant on site, but the hours are limited. If you are an early riser you may not be able to take advantage of the complimentary breakfast.

Nice clean hotel with very friendly staff. Free wifi and free breakfast are a bonus. Clean room with a very comfortable bed. Centrally located between downtown Orillia and Casino Rama. The only complaint we have is the fact the shuttle from the casino picks up until midnight only. Would definitely stay here again!

Always friendly and helpful. Have been staying here twice a year for the past ten years. Best value for your money. Excellent hot breakfast. Close to lakes. There is also a Restaurant on site with a bar. You are close to Casino Rama and a shuttle available on night of shows.

We travel a lot while our daughter competes in horse shows and have stayed in different hotels and motels and found that the friendly staff here, the comfortable beds and plenty of hot and cold food were perfect after a long day around the horses. Your inn is one of the best we have stayed in and we will be back my husband and I to celebrate our 34th wedding anniversary. Thank you for a enjoyable stay.

Stopped to check it out. Reception was a nice surprise so decision was made. Great stay. Clean quiet rooms. Recommend in house restaraunt my husband is very picky about his steak but he loved it. The chef was Greg and he made us amazing meals. All staff was helpful . Carters

Great hotel, very simple and nice location, to the point! We went for a short stay in the long weekend, and it was the perfect choice with a very good price.. very helpful staff, no issue at all.. The breakfast was OK, not perfect but was good. Location is near to a lot of restaurants and to the beach side.. I strongly recommend it and would go again for sure.

Affordable option if you have an event to attend at Casino Rama and don't want to pay around $400 a night at the Casino Hotel. Rooms are clean and staff is friendly. Shuttle to the casino runs every hour from 5:30 to midnight and only cost $7 per person round trip. Free hot buffet breakfast is included at their restaurant. We had dinner at the restaurant as well and the staff was very friendly.

Close to beachfront park and Casino Rama. Great breakfast: Scrambled eggs cooked through properly, Bacon crisp and not greasy, Sausages well browned. Juice, toast, muffins, yogurt, fresh fruit, good coffee etc. Very comfortable bed.

A very clean and comfortable place to stay. The location is good as you are only minutes from downtown Orillia and minutes from Casino Rama. The staff is friendly and the breakfast is better than most that offer the breakfast with stays. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

I found the customer service friendly and very helpful. My room was very clean and beds were comfortable. The breakfast was good. Good variety of items from food to beverages. I will be definitely staying there again.

We had a fantastic experience right from the start. We were in town for my wife's birthday and were given a complimentary room upgrade as a birthday gift. Thank you! The hotel is clean, comfortable and had everything we could possibly need. We even spent a little time in the spa area which was a nice end to our evening. Staff were extremely friendly and complimentary breakfast in the morning was perfect. Definitely return to this hotel for our next visit to the area.

The hotel is clean, the front desk staff, I think all of them are nice... There is no pool, and the breakfast is not really worth it! :( Also, the shuttle to the casino is $7 per person, which is high, considering most hotels near other casinos offer free shuttles.

This is the only place I stay at when in Orillia, several times each year. I have stayed at 3 other motels/hotels in the area and find this one to be very superior. The staff are very friendly and helpful, the rooms are large, nicely furnished and decorated, great TV and the beds are fantastic. All for a reasonable price. I will be back there again next week :-)

A most enjoyable stay. No concerns or problems of any kind. Great Staff. Very handy to Casino Rama. Very accessible - on Highway #12. Breakfast was very ample. A room upgrade was offered -very much appreciated.

Stayed a Saturday night during a visit to Casino Rama. Very friendly front desk. Nice lobby and common areas. Room was plain but clean throughout. Bed and especially pillows were very comfortable. Large TV. Parking is close to capacity on weekends but there is enough room towards the back (no issue). The breakfast room was nice and the assortment good. Only suggestion is to provide heating lamps or warmers as the hot food went from hot to cool very quickly which wasn't very appetizing. The staff were running they're feet off to make it a good experience. A little pricey for the room we got. Book early to get best rates.

This hotel is a must. It is clean, quiet and close to all areas of interest. The staff is very dedicated to details and made our stay very pleasurable. Be sure to visit the restaurant. You won't be disappointed.

we went for aTerry Clarke concert at Rama, hotel was a little pricey , but oin that area they all are, had a great time down at the bar with the girls took the shuttle with Chris an amazing guy took us to Ramahen drove us around after great time going back in July

The hotel is nice. There was no need to send us to the back to park when the key did not work in the back door. The breakfast was excellent. The remote did not work for the TV. Received the wrong bill under the door.

Hot tub and fitness very clean and nice. Room was outdated. When they say hot breakfast buffet food wasnt ready and it wasnt even busy 930am. Asked waitress for more plates was really rude. and could hear them swearing and goofing off in the kitchen.

we booked this bw several weeks ago as a standard room upon checking in we were upgraded to a better room we had a bar with stools, fireplace, with two comfortable arm chairs to watch the big screen tv. it is hard to find any improvements with this bw but I have to nit pick with 3 improvements 1) there was no shower cap in the bathroom 2) there was only one waste basket it was in the bathroom so we moved it into the main room 3) in the breakfast room we had a hard time finding a tray they were hidden under a cabinet like I said it is hard to nit pick about a fabulous hotel. the service was excellent

Travelling from Bancroft to Orillia, stop by this hotel, good corp. rate for a comfortable room. Staffs are friendly. Breakfast is excellent. Everything is a super. Hotel offer hot breakfast with lots of choice. Also they have a GYM and a large Spa pool. I stay on the 4 th floor, offer a great view.

Great beds and a very good breakfast included. The disco shuttle to Casinorama is reliable, clean, and has a super friendly driver. This is a great option for friends or families going to see a show at Rama.

My husband and I were very pleasantly surprised by the amenities and quality of the room. Very nice. The breakfast was also very good...though I asked and was told they were " out of napkins "....no one could run to Walmart?? Great hotel. Will be back. They do need a shakeup of their attached restaurant though. Terrible dinner.

it was surprisingly comfy and the staff were very nice. I enjoyed the sauna and whirlpool - it was very quiet as no one else was using the facilities. Since I have to put a minimum of 200 characters for this post and am going to continue jabbering for a bit...

The beds are very comfortable and the pillows were plenty. Unfortunately other guests were quite loud but this did not last all night and not the fault of the establishment. (maybe a quiet zone is in order?) Easy check in and out. Shuttle to casino was crowded and the driver changed the times.. again not the fault of the hotel Overall a very pleasant stay and I would go back.

Just stayed here one night with a friend before going to a concert. The property is in a good location, clean and quiet. Front desk staff was amicable. Paid extra for a fireplace room but I wouldn't recommend it. The room was a double queen so was long and the fireplace was at the very end of one wall right next to the window and partially hidden behind a chair that you will need to move if you want to see it at all. The fireplace was not visible from the beds. The linens are very nice but, unfortunately, the mattresses and pillows are not comfortable at all. The lighting in the bathroom isn't very good either. The in-room wifi is good and the microwave and fridge came in handy. There is also a long desk if you need it. The restaurant next door offers 5% off for guests which doesn't seem like much and we chose not to use it. Overall, it's a nice place but too pricey for what you get.

This is a nice clean hotel. Front desk staff okay. Large room, nice linens on bed but mattress and pillows very uncomfortable. There was poor lighting in the bathroom too. I don't recommend you pay extra for a room with a fireplace as the room is long and the fireplace is at the end of one wall next to the window and partially hidden behind a chair that you will need to move. It's not visible from the beds so you can't get much enjoyment from it. The wifi worked well and it was nice having a hookup for your music on the clock rakio. the fridge and microwave were a bonus and there is a long desk as well.

Had a great stay, in the area to see a concert at Rama. Italian restaurant on site was excellent, as was our waitress, Amanda. I had the lasagna, my husband had the veal parm and our friends had the salmon special and all were exceptional.

The location is good in Orillia, next to the lake and city center. It is also close to Casino Rama and other services. The room and facilities are very clean. It will be great if the hotel offer coffee at the reception or closeby.

I would rate this hotel as an honest 3. It was clean, hotel staff friendly and accommodating. I found the heating in the room to be very noisy. The bed was soft and pillows hard ( opposite of my personal preference ). I would return for a one nighter trip to the casino.

If you're booking this as an option for Casino Rama beware that it is not as convenient as you are led to believe. There is a shuttle that only runs once each hour. Seats as pre-booked and first come first serve at checkin. If you're trying to get to an event it's not good. We arrived 3 hours ahead of the event and the only shuttle available would get us there an hour after the show starts. Not good BW, you might want to advise people of this before they book.

Was in Orillia and had been in the hospital with my daughter and son-in-law for 2 days, was exhausted and when I called to check on any available rooms, was treated courteously and I asked if the rooms had bath tubs (as so many rooms now just have showers). When I arrived to check-in Simon who was at the front desk had bath salts and extra soaps ready for me. I felt that he really listened and cared about his patrons and he made me feel like I mattered!

I love to stay at this hotel and have done so many times. The beds are very comfortable, clean and the staff are friendly and helpful. They have a shuttle to the Casino, a restaurant, pool and a hot tub. This is my hotel of choice in Orillia.

We were very impressed with the hotel and especially Paul at the front desk, he was very professional and my wife thought he was cute. Breakfast was very good and the place was very clean. We also enjoyed the limo service to the casino.

We were going to a show at Casino Rama. With it being a 9:00 p.m. start , we thought it might be wise to stay overnight. After looking up hotels in the area we decided to stay here. Upon our arrival we were greeted warmly at the front desk, and quickly checked in. They made reservations at the Portage restaurant for us and booked a shuttle to the Casino. The $7.00 per person charge for the return trip was quite reasonable, and allowed us to relax and not spend a lot of time looking for a parking spot. We had a very enjoyable dinner, and then went to the show. In the morning the complimentary breakfast was just what we needed to hit the road. The friendly and efficient staff was something this facility can be very proud of. When we attend another show at Rama we will definitely stay here again.

rooms clean, service friendly, breakfast enjoyable, nice to have hot breakfast instead of buns, only thing we noticed was parking lot needs to be redone, few pot holes, but in all the experience was good, we stay at this hotel whenever we are in Orillia

We have returned multiple times to this hotel and we have never been disappointed! The staff is always above and beyond in accommodating any requirements and provide 5 star service, by far the best accommodations in the area. The rooms are an excellent value and the hotel provides many options based on our group size and length of stay. The hotel restaurant was cozy with a great atmosphere.. a great place to relax for a few drinks followed by a delicious dinner, it definitely exceeded our expectations. They also offer a complimentary full buffet breakfast in the morning with many options, unlike most hotels which usually only provide a continental breakfast. The location is also a great perk of this hotel, located close to parks and walking paths along the lake with great views and not far from the town. I would HIGHLY recommend this hotel to anyone travelling to the area whether it is for business or just to relax, it is definitely our number one choice.

Hi there, booked a room , Valentines day , started off ok, Olivia was the girl I spoke to at the front desk, after I had a confirmation from expedia,asked her if they could do something special for me , as it was this holiday (Valentines and a 15 year anniversary), she said she would talk to the manager as they nothing to offer, he called me and said they could arrange for putting a couple of balloons in the room for when we arrive and strawberries and sweets for when we arrive he had a few balloons laying around from previous parties, when we arrived was told we paid to much for the room as we booked through expedia , anyway so moving forward, checked in , went to room , their was a ballon in the room that said celebrate and nothing else.....an hour later there was a knock a the door , and a woman handed us a plate with (two) 2 strawberries and one small pastry. Ok so moving forward , we arrived at 4pm ish and the advised us to make a reservation for the restaurant for dinner and that they only opened at 5pm, so we made a reservation for 6:30, we went , at that time, and we sat down and was given a menu that was set with only three options, fish , beef, chicken, ( I had downloaded the normal menu from here and we had picked out what we wanted , but they said that they were not serving anything from the normal menu), so we both can not eat fish, so we ordered the steak, the server said they RAN out , now this place is not big and they just opened at 5 ! , ok so we had nothing else to choose from , so we LEFT starving and had a couple of drinks so we could not drive, had to take a taxi to town for food and back costing us another 45$, and then 81$ plus tip so 90$ for dinner.....was really disappointed !!!! Then I received a paper under the door for 25 $ for a pastry and 2 strawberries , I insisted they remove the charge...The whole plan ......Disappointing !!! So moving forward ....you tell me what you can do for me for us to stay again ?

In house restaurant, first class, great chef on duty at suppertime. Menu good variety, specials each night, well priced. Breakfast ( included in room charge) buffet style, not the greatest breakfast, rate 4 out of 10 Room very clean, was on the second floor hotel has elevator. Hallways kept clean and tidy. Bus service from hotel to Casino $7.00 return. Well equipped workout room, large hot tub and sauna. All staff great and helpful.

The staff here treat you like family. The gentleman at the front desk never failed to make us laugh or at least smile. I don't know who the chef was the night we ate in the restaurant, but they sure brought out all the flavours in the food. Never thought I'd say this but, I had melt in your mouth calamari! The hotel itself was very nicely decorated. Nice light rooms and no scary patterned carpet. I didn't use the fitness equipment but there were a nice selection of machines to choose from. The hot tub was the perfect thing to come back to after a long cold day. Can't wait to come back again!

Stayed here to avoid getting stranded in a blizzard. King size room was adequate, quiet and roomy. Shower head was fantastic. Staff were professional and freindly. Hotel is located close to restaurants. Would recommend it.

we had a very relaxing trip and and very good supper and a good breakfast and the servers were very friendly and very helpful.The shuttle was quite a surprise . The only thing that needs changed is some of the furnture is looking a little tired and well used
