Great ad outstanding rooms and customer service during my stay and great prices that could get me to come back again & love the fact that after you become a diamond elite status member you nomore have to pay for a deposit/incidental fee

I was a employee at this location as housekeeping supervisor they do not change top sheets on beds and cut corners when cleaning ì brought this to attention to be told that it's ok ...it's not ok that's nasty I left property because not very clean and no one cares PLEASE BE WARE OF BEDS THEY ARE NOT AS CLEAN AS STANDARD SHOULD BE ....

Upgraded to a suite after just asking to change rooms because of a noisy mattress. The staff (Moon) was very accommodating and very kind. She even was going to let us choose from a couple of different rooms till we felt comfortable.

The room smelled like mold and mildew immediately when we walked in. The bathroom fixtures were rusting and falling off. The bed was lumpy and we could hear the springs every time we moved. AND, we woke up with bites all over us from BED BUGS! I have never felt so disgusted! There was no one at the desk to even report it to!

Hotel Lady who checked us in Ms. Moon Baker was awesome, I had an issue with my third party reservation and she went above and beyond to help me resolve it. She was very friendly almost like a family member. She took good care of me and my staff who was in town on business for a week.

Moon was very helpful very accommodating also polite should be key word outgoing to make sure me and my fellow business partners felt at home very professional she gets two thumbs up best experience I've had

I had the best experience at this Best Western Southside thanks to Ms.Moon. She was extremely professional and gave off a very welcoming energy. I needed to check-in early then expected and she quickly got me checked-early. And was a great source of information as it was my first time in Jacksonville. She is an absolute gem! Give her a raise and a promotion, she is definitely a model employee.

This hotel is good to lay your head down for the night to get off the highway…that's about it…the rooms are cheap and large. The establishment had an odor, had to go all the way to the first floor to get ice as the machines on the floors weren't on, we didn't see housekeeping at all and even had to provide our own toilet paper. Multiple guests had large dogs - maybe a contributing factor to the smell. If I was in town for a week…this would be a hard no!

Very good for the money. Great breakfast buffet. Will def stay again and again. Just needs a couple of cosmetic things like fixing a chipped bathtub. Otherwise, a very good hotel to stay in for the price. Clean, good size rooms and comfortable beds.

Outdated hotel with musty floors and leaky appliances. Smelt as if the room was at one time a smoking room. No extras. Some staff good, some terrible. Just good enough to get some sleep. Did the job for us but wouldn't necessarily recommend to anyone.

I travel a lot for work and stay here quite frequently the same staff is always here and always amazing. I have never had an issue that they have not handled they look out for me when I had to check in early because I was just exhausted and they knew it. Never stayed somewhere where people actually remembered me the staff here does which makes it so much easier to check in. Jamal is always happy to see the guests and remembers my name everytime! The breakfast is always hot and fresh the sweet lady who takes care of breakfast every day is serious about the guests and the breakfast we eat she even cooks biscuits and gravy sometimes! I see people saying oh they need to update this and that well I've lived here all my life it's pretty updated compared to what it was and I think your staff makes the difference no matter what I will always stay here when I'm in town.

Super dissatisfied with the overall stay !! I wouldn't even recommend people to let their animals stay in there ! Older couple across the hall had two dogs one of the was growling and trying to bite at us ! The bed was very uncomfortable woke felling very stiff and uncomfortable !!!

The staff makes the difference at this property. Everyone wanted to make our stay as pleasant as possible, especially the front desk and breakfast staff. The property is a bit dated and could use more attention from maintenance and housekeeping, but the location is good and we always felt safe.

This is a great hotel and the kids loved the pool area! Breakfast was wonderful and they had a wide selection of food. ( pancakes, eggs, yogurt, bagels, etc) The only thing is that if you stay in the suite like we did, be aware that the bathroom door is very close to the toilet. We were a little surprised by that. Overall this is a great hotel and I would definitely stay here again!!!

The room was good. The television did not work. And the temperature of the room didn't stay consistent. Also the staff... Ms. Moon, Ms. Julie, and Ms. Bernadette and Mr. Hewey were amazing. Was able to interact with guests and staff alike. Very down to earth people. WILL BE STAYING HERE AGAIN!!!!

Desk clerks were rude and lazy. They were very unaccommodating. A five day stay and we never saw the manager even once. We were unable to get our room cleaned, had to even go get our own toilet paper.

This was the stay from Hell. Room was booked on Hotels.com. Upon arrival at the hotel there was no room for us. We were told they weren't getting any 3rd party bookings. Nothing was done to assist us. We had to scramble to find a room at a different hotel. Then we came back the next day. We couldn't even get toilet paper delivered. They refused to clean our room or bring fresh linens.

First off, Ms. Moon at the front desk was AMAZING!! She's a very special lady!! Housekeeping staff was friendly and helpful. The Asian breakfast lady was super friendly! The breakfast was hot, and pretty good! The pancakes were very good!! Okay, now for the not so good: If you've got headphones, bring them!! The hotel is 5 stories, and no matter what story, it's noisey, due to the rooms being close to I-295. There's traffic at all times of the night, and it always houses construction workers, who don't respect the privacy of others. The rooms are very dated, but was told ther'ye renovating. The only ice machine in the whole hotel was in the lobby. You had to get your ice, before construction workers got theirs, or they would pretty much drain the machine. It was a decent 3 night stay.

We stayed for a week at the Orange Park,FL location. Rooms were clean and amenities were excellent but the customer service that we received from Moon was second to none. Very delightful and knowledgeable and always had a smile on her face.

This was such a clean and hospitable hotel. The front desk lady, Moon was incredibly nice. She was so cheery whenever I saw her and she helped me get my medicine last minute when I forgot it. Nevertheless, it's easy to say that the staff was amazing.

If you happen to be one the fortunate few to encounter Moon at the front desk for you check in you're gonna be in for a treat. Her bright & bubbly personality and captivating smile literally brightens your day. Best Western has found an excellent custodian for their customer service.

I was satisfied with my stay at this locations, "Best Western" from the moment I entered the establishment and was greeted with a smile from Moon, the Hotel clerk, whom had checked me in. She was quick, efficient, and was able to answer any questions that I may of had. Moon and the rest of the staff were very friendly and helpful with any of my needs I required. The rooms were cleaned upon entering them and were kept up daily. I diffently would recommend other wary travelers to stay with them. Im sure too, If I was ever to return to this area.

If you happen to check in and Moon is at the front desk …be sure that you are in for a treat with her exceptional customer service. She is the best. Best Western truly has a gem of a person. She was able to fully respond to all our queries about our stay.

The Best Western Hotel are also our preferred place to stay anytime we travel and Moon the front desk receptionist was awesome with going up and beyond which make our experience even better. Thank you Moon just because of you your location will always be at the top of the list.

We had a great stay! Breakfast was really good and everyone at the hotel was extremely friendly and helpful. We had to add a day to our visit as we were doing testing at the Mayo Clinic and it was done seamlessly. This is convenient to almost anything in Jacksonville.

Hands down one of the best stays we've had in our years of travel. The front desk representatives were exceedingly warm and welcoming despite there being a large flow of guests coming to check in (we didn't catch their names, but it appeared one was being trained and they both had a great rapport), as were the staff during checkout (Thank you Moon!). Breakfast was delicious and the staff were extremely cheerful (without being annoying lol). Beds were super comfortable. Please be advised there is a $100 deposit added when you check in that was not listed on when we booked via booking.com.

The front desk associate Ms. Moon presented top tier customer service to me during my stay. Her professionalism, knowledge, and all around joyus hospitality made my business trip all worth the while. Thank you Ms. Moon for your service this organization is very fortunate to have you! Bravo Zulu!

Ms. Moon was everything, she took care of everything I needed as I had trouble with my room keys. She was very patient. I came to the hotel during a trip visiting my grandparents and i'll definitely be back. The breakfast was amazing and the rooms were cozy

We have stayed at this BW several times this past year while we work on our home. We have not met an unfriendly or rude member of their staff yet. They are currently updating and renovating the hotel, so it's not “perfect,” but their kind and friendly service offsets that. Ronald specifically, is kind, helpful, engaging, and patient. I just have harassed him 5 times last night and he never lost his smile or willingness to go above and beyond for his guests. Thanks Ronald. The rooms are adequate, the breakfast is ok, but their people are the best. My biggest complaint was that they were out of sugar for coffee this morning.

Tonight, arriving back at the hotel after being out for the evening, on the way to the elevator, I grabbed about 1/2 dozen cups from the coffee bar, because no cups were replaced in our room today when the room was serviced. While waiting for the elevator, an employee, with an attitude jumps my 6 about the cups I picked up, stating that those are too expensive for me to take. He then turns around and throw those too expensive cups for me to take in the trash can. Hmmm... yes... they are too expensive for me to take; but, not too expensive to be thrown in the trash? Find out his name is Anthony and that according to him he is the Best Western District Manager. On Sunday, when our room was not serviced at all and I needed towels and wash cloths, we could only get two towels because the rest of the linens were locked up. When we asked for a third towel for my wife's hair, could not get another towel for its against policy. No milk on the breakfast menu. You can have oatmeal, but no milk. We have stayed here for over 20 years, always great friendly customer service, great attitude, great breakfast bar. But the change in management / ownership has changed all of that. Number one proof that it has changed is Anthony, Best Western District Manager, jumps your 6 over taking a half a dozen cups and then throws them in the trash!

Mrs. Moon Done an outstanding job as a receptionist, she has a great sense of humor and a way of understanding her customers. Great person to have on hand to deal with difficult situations. I will revisit the location

Ms Moon was awesome she took real good care of our team. I enjoyed my room it was nice and clean with a spacious business area. We stayed two night and the breakfast was ok. I would definitely recommend to friends

Very clean and professional grounds, hotel and staff. Excellent breakfast. Well lit for security. Beautiful pool, and gym. A staff that goes out of their way to attend to your families comfort. Easy check in and out.

Complete dump. Sofa and chair missing from suite, power outlets didn't work, damaged furniture, paper thin walls, only one clunky elevator. Ice machine on our floor didn't work. Only a few cable channels.

Concierge at the front desk moon was very helpful and benevolent . She made it feel like a very welcoming space to stay . Didn't have any hiccups , . Even opened up breakfast a bit early for the military members to be able to eat . Since we had to leave earlier than the opening time

I travel for my job for 18 years , I stay in all kinds of hotels , by far this is the greatest hotel I have stayed in lately , the service is great , the rooms are newly done , the best. And most of all , the front desk are fantastic , one in particular , she is so good at her job I even remember her name (Moon) , because of Moon the hotel condition and service, I recommend the 5 rooms we have each week should continue, love this hotel. Ms. Moon went above and beyond what any other desk representative has ever done in my 29 years traveling with the Navy. We were in desperate need of a room after seeing the unacceptable one we “reserved”. Ms. Moon was a dream to work with! Had to do a last minute hotel change, came here, and she got everything taken care of quick lightning and smooth as glass. She is the prime example of customer service! The front reception area was clean and spotless and the bed was comfy too! 5 Stars!

I was in town or some business events, and a couple of luncheons, and stayed at the Best Western Orange Park (Southside Hotel and Suites). I have stayed there before. It was a nice experience. Bernadette, in particular, in the breakfast area, was very kind, as were Moon and Loretta at the front desk.

You're receptionist Ms.Moon she took very very good care of me I got locked out of my room at and she took herself beyond her duties and had the maintenance gentleman take care of me get me in the room while the housekeeper was cleaning the other room that she put me in down the hall .Very nice room very clean facility facility overall.when I say Ms. Moon went beyond and out of her way to take care of me I am very very pleased and yes I will stay here again..........

First things first the receptionist is amazing her name is moon , she is so sweet and polite and the pet fee is so reasonable thank god ,clean rooms , comfy beds , a really nice tv , and very good breakfast

Don't get ice from the ice machines, not sure why it's black, i think it's mold. There are no chocolate mints on the pillows, those are roaches, Be careful. All the chairs were stained, had to cover with sheets.... can't believe I got suckered with 4.6 out of 5 stars. Don't take my word, look at the pictures, I will get more of the ice machine and post later..

Outstanding service at front desk. The employee named Moon exuded a welcoming personality and was very professional. Great access to interstate and S Jacksonville. I especially appreciated the complimentary charging stations. I would definitely stay again.

You only wish to lay your head it is ok to stay here I guess. Lots of little things bugged me too numerous to mention. So glad I was not paying. Found someone elses sock under the clothes racks and the sink didnt work well. Security was ok I think. I didnt care for the TV channels which didnt line up with a list and the remote was not quite right for the TV. Could not find a romantic comedy on any channel.

Khiana was very pleasant and friendly upon check in. I was very tired and exhausted and she was able to check me in and get me assigned to a room right away with no hassle. She was most helpful and I'm thankful that she was working when I arrived to stay at the “best” western.

I understand this hotel is under new management and renovations but our room was unsatisfactory. The room is very musty even with the air conditioner going. You walk in and think it had water damage or something. The floor tile around the jacuzzi tub in the bedroom is unfinished. The tile sticks up about a half inch above the carpet with a very rough edge. There is three corners sticking out in the path to the bathroom creating a tripping hazard. I hurt my foot twice and asked the front desk for a rug or mat I could lay over it to protect my feet. They gave me two rubber bath mats with a couple hand towels to lay over it. The carpet is very lose between the bed and floor tile by tub with catches on your feet causing another hazard. We should have asked for a different room but liked being so close to the elevator. On a good note the gentleman working in the late afternoon was a delight. Very friendly. I doubt I'll stay here again.

Lot of traffic noise and lousy internet. Internet never worked. There was a problem with another customer at check-in and it took all three clerks to work it out or not. Nexxt time, I would request 1st floor away from the interstate side. We have stayed there many times in the past and always enjoyed our stay. This was different

Currently this hotel is going under renovations so be prepared to see crap. Initial impression is whew it smells of smoke and is outdated. My room was not to my standards. The room smelled, tv did not work, toilet not thoroughly cleaned, and just cramped. However, once I did communicate these things to Ms. Moon, she provided me with another room that was much better and cleaned well. I appreciate her taking the time to ensure I was satisfied with my room and making sure the head housekeeper cleans the room. Ms. Moon was extremely nice and wanted to know what she could do to make my overall experience/stay better. Although it's not the typical hotel I would stay at, she did fix what she could which made things better. I'm hoping with new management and renovations, that this hotel can provide the entire package.

This was my 1st visit to this hotel. I am extremely impressed by Ms Moon! Always smiling, speaking to me by name, friendly & helpful to all she came in contact with. I also was very impressed with the breakfast & cook/attendant. Another thing I really liked was having different coffees in the lobby at all hours......always fresh & hot.

During my recent trip to north east Florida, I got to stay at the BW Southside hotel and suites. Although the place was undergoing remodeling and new ownership, Miss Moon at the front desk and Miss Malde head of house keeping made the stay enjoyable and worry free. Both were more than just employees, they took ownership of making the place run as a 5 star hotel. I would definitely stay there again

A/C broke down. Room was damp & humid. Carpet was not vacuumed. Keycards got disabled. Staff left front desk for 2 hours. Unable to get help to enter my room. Wasted my time in the lobby at night. Staff threatened to kick me out because I complained. Absurdly unprofessional.

The front desk staff were unfriendly and not helpful. The hotel had a musty smell and the room was awful, there were pieces of ceiling missing and the beds were horrible. They charged me multiple times for my stay which has yet to be resolved. The desk person was preoccupied with a personal phone call when checking me out.

Numerous attempts have been made to cancel reservations at best western south side hotel & suites but booking.com and myself cannot get through. Now I am getting charged for a reservation I am not actively using. What can be done to fix this?

Our stay at this Best Western was great, the staff was wonderful. The hot breakfast was excellent and the room was superb. We would definitely stay there again they more than meet our expectations thanks

I'm always greeted with smiles by Moon and Khiana. Whenever I see that they are at the desk I know I have no worries. Treated with respect and hospitality at its finest. I continue to return to the same hotel over and over again and these women are one of the reason why. The hotel itself has an amazing breakfast and clean rooms. The hotels atmosphere is exceptional.

I would not recommend this hotel to my worst enemy in these conditions there's obvious a moisture issue black mold around the windows the smell is terrible dirty carpet only one AC working in the king suite toilet seat not attached won't give toilet paper

The receptionist was not helpful or friendly, we needed a ice bucket was told there was one in the room. When we checked in she was very unfriendly even after we went out of our way to be very nice and kind to her. She had a problem of not bringing able to get on to her server.

A very nice place to stop along the way. Front desk staff is very professional and courteous while the computers were not cooperating. Breakfast was hot and on time. Had working night auditor to thank.

I wanted to say THANK YOU x a million to Moon at BW ! Seriously she went above and beyond to make sure our stay was well accommodated ! Hubby is in the Navy and we needed to stay close to base in order for him to get to and from work , originally he was going to come solo but at the last min. our two children and myself needed to join him, we thought we were in a two queen bed room but when we called to verfiy it was 1 queen bed, we called twice to try to change it but they were out of double bed rooms! Finally day of arriving that's when we met Moon by phone who made the magic happen! We all were able to stay in a spacious comfortable room and everyone was happy ! The breakfast was fresh & hot every morning ! Coffee is always available which is a PLUS to me && hubby used the gym every morning ! Definitely close to everything you need ! Mall isn't far, Wawa, Food spots, Base is literally 3 mins away ! If you need somewhere to stay for a few nights and convenient, don't hesitate to stay at BW ! DEFINITELY ask to speak to MOON !

The staff is the only positive about this property. The facilities are old run down. Room smells, probably have mold. Pool could not be smaller. Some of the elements that hang outside makes me feel I am in a rehab center. They seem to live there which is fine I just was not expecting that from a name brand hotel. Pay a bit more and stay in some of the newest hotels within less than a mile from this property.

The room was horrible. It smelled like urine and smoke. And there was residue left behind as if someone had just done drugs on the dresser. The best part of this experience is being refunded my money.

We arrived at 1am to room 317 and found that the bathroom had black mold and peeling up wallpaper. The walls were dingy and damaged, with spots of dark material along the wallpaper. We notified the night shift employee of the issue who came up and investigated the room. She was appalled at the state of the room but told us there was no extra rooms and promised she'd make it right. Which she did! The next night when we returned we were moved to a new room, room 207. I looked into the bathroom and found more black mold along the ceiling and wall. Given that was around 1am that night, we just went to bed. I notified the day shift and asked to talk to a manager. She apologized and was very kind, and moved to us our third room, room 209. We quickly inspected the room with and as I was only looking for mold, I didn't see any right away and gave approval. However, that night we used the showed and as the steam hit the room, black mold was revealed underneath white paint. Additionally the shower curtain rod was damaged and hanging off the wall by a few screws. If we moved the rod wrong, the entire system felt like it would rip off the wall. I would appreciate a contact from corporate as the physical state of the building is appalling and I am debating contacting the health inspector to come take a look into the rooms. My wife has asthma and these types of conditions are dangerous for people with respiratory issues. I have stayed at this building atleast a ten times over the past 8 years and I will not be returning to this building personally. We paid over 400$ for rooms that were substandard and dangerous to be in.

Very good room, with super comfy mattresses and pillows. Caring and helpful staff, cheery as well. We had been driving from southwest Florida to Ontario, Canada when our engine failed. Their support and friendliness helped make a very troubling time better. Our cats enjoyed the window sill which was large enough for them to lay down.

I enjoy the free breakfast. The room looked and felt very clean. Moon and Trina at the front desk are very nice, beautiful and professional. I am visiting Jacksonville from California. The California standards are hard to beat. I have to say this place is comparable.

I'm very disappointed on level of customer service and empathy for customers! I use come here all the time years back but no more! They need to implement a money back satisfaction guarantee like Hampton Inn... Hilton Brand! The staff at front desk... especially General Manager need to take Customer Service serious!!!

After spending 2 nights in a nightmare of a facility a couple of exits south, we found this wonderful property and I'm so glad we did. We often must come to Jacksonville to the Mayo Clinic and while there are other (much more expensive) hotels closer, this Best Western has just moved to the top of our list! Thank you Trina for a great experience! We WILL be back!

Hotel was under refurbishment, 4th floor had smell of mildew in the hallway and had a dehumidifier running. Guest room had water damage on celling and walls had damage and holes. The room had virtually no water pressure above a trickle from the bathroom sink or tub faucet. And there was no hot water at all and the beds were very squishy, nearly no support except on the very edge

The room was clean and large. We experienced a delay at checkin because the internet went off. Front desk person was very apologetic and helpful. The water pressure was off on the morning we checked out so we were unable to shower, make coffee or flush the toilet. The breakfast was quite good and the staff was friendly and helpful.

STAY AWAY!! The first room 310 we were given clearly had someone without luggage in it (interpret that as you may) There was a cheesecake on the night stand, makeup in the room and a lighter and stick like thing on the bed. The next room 312 the shower did not work, the water in the sink my husband used to shave was not even warm and someone was banging on my door ar 4 am. We had to go to a different room to shower room 201. That room and entire second floor smelled of mold. The lobby mens bathroom was out of order and the elevator was a mess. When the person from the desk gave us the second floor room to shower in, he escorted my husband there to make sure nobody was staying in it. Wouldn't the desk know from the computer who was in what rooms? Clearly they don't log in rooms to the desk and are probably taking money under the table to let short stay people stay and use the rooms. Hence, the reason our first room was in the condition it was in.

Visiting family for their birthdays. I always stay here when I'm in town. I'm close to everyone and everywhere I need to be. Clean rooms and friendly staff. Recommend for sure! I'll definitely be back!

We were in Jacksonville area to visit family. We stayed here because it's a dog-friendly hotel. Otherwise, we would have stayed elsewhere. After unloading our bags, we left for dinner. When we returned & decided to shower, we found the bathtub spigot did not work! We called the front desk and were able to get a different room. That's fine, but we had to gather up all our stuff to move to a different room. The only good news was it was just down the hall. The bathtub spigot in that room worked. I took a shower that evening and had hot water. The bed was uncomfortable, the A/C didn't work very well; it was humid in the room. The carpet was worn and the furnishings dated. The next morning when my husband went to brush his teeth, there was no water in the bathroom sink! Because we had what I would call a suite, he was able to use another sink in the room that did have water. He took a shower & said there was little to no hot water. He said it was a cold shower. The complimentary breakfast was ok. Probably one of the worst hotel experiences ever.

This is what I was told nightly (5 nights)by the front desk when I asked about the hot water being barely Luke warm. Couldn't move rooms even on first night and denied then asked for a refund, denied.

Staff was friendly. BUT, Breakfast was of poor quality. Overall, the hotel was unkept, appears run-down, lost running water from approximately 5am to 6:30am. Staff stated this is a common event that occurs almost on a daily event. My friend's bathroom wallpaper was peeling off the wall with dark, mold appearing stains throughout. When reported to the staff, they did not appear to be the least concerned. My room smelled stuffy. Unfortunately, no other hotel accommodations were available in the area due to events that weekend. Will not be staying there again.

We were here for two nights in March 2022. This was, by far, the worst hotel we have stayed in. For a rate of 175.00 per night, one would expect a clean room with no bugs. Not the case here. Carpet was dirty, roaches were in the room and bathroom, wallboard was peeling in the bathroom, and mold was present. Other guests, as indicated by the front desk, had complained about the bug issue as well. This hotel was overpriced by about $100. Look elsewhere for accommodations.

This "hotel" is abysmal. It's a 1-star motel, at best. The rooms are musty and dirty. The housekeeping is lacking. The computer and printer were not working. The people hanging outside the property were sketchy. There was ZERO running water on the day we departed Florida and it was never rectified before leaving. The kid at the front desk was clueless. He said he talked to a manager and that she would get back to me. Never happened. I had to call them back. After calling 3 times that morning about the water situation. This place should be condemned.

We had been traveling cross country and used Best Western hotels along the way. The one in Jacksonville wasn't close to the other hotels as far as room cleanliness and upkeep. Room service didn't vacuum or make the beds.

Hotel is disgusting. Employees were the only good thing here. I couldn't wait to leave. Will not go back. Everything smelled bad, carpets were wet and torn. Everything needed basic maintenance. Looks like no maintenance has been done here in a long time.

As a regular Best Western customer I must admit this was the worst room I ever had. Old room with a lot of cosmetic problems from mold, wallpaper falling off the wall, holes in Sheetrock to burns in material in chair. Definitely not worth the price.

What a horrible experience. I had to change my room three times due to moldy smell, smoke, and mildew. The fan is extremely loud in the room and ac barely works accordingly. Internet never worked. I also heard loud construction banging in the room in the morning that woke me up early. Bathroom felt nasty, ceilings cracked and wood flooring splintered in my foot. AWFUL! This building should be torn down. No apologies from staff. This should not be a best western

Staff nice, check in was easy and good breakfast selection. Everything else was terrible. Room was HOT, a/c was in heat setting and set to 70, so essentially off. FL was in the upper 80s/low 90s so it was very hot and muggy when we arrived at 9:30pm. Shower reached lukewarm temp at best so only one person managed to shower before it was completely cold water. Carpet in wet areas (gross) and not clean, daughters scraped her knee on something in the carpet and caused her to bleed. Drawer on night stand between beds would not stay closed. Also not enough seating available for breakfast, we had to sit in the floor. Can also hear highway traffic. Definitely do not recommend. Spend your money somewhere else.

The staff at this hotel are very nice. I really liked the front desk staff that I interacted with, during my week + stay, The cleaning people were equally nice. Really lovely people. That's pretty much all that can be said of this place. The hotel itself, leaves much to be desired. It is old and tired...so very tired. Lets start in the lobby. Nice space, but seeing as there's no actual eating area for breakfast, it can get quite crowded, but I never had trouble finding a spot. There's a 'gym' on this floor, which has some equipment which I think has never been maintained at all. Pretty much everything is broken, or about to break. Not safe at all. There is a laundry on the first floor also. During my time there both the washer and dryer weren't working. One of the lovely front desk ladies actually let me use the hotel equipment to wash my clothes. which was so very nice. Outside is the pool. A pool that I am sure is rarely, if ever cleaned. It was just plain filthy, yet people were still going in and out (mostly kids). I don't know how they could use it, as it was really disgusting. The room was a refection of the rest of the property. I had an upgraded room, which was great in terms of space, but it wasn't the cleanest. I didn't use the living room sofa or chairs, as there were a lot of questionable stains everywhere. The room did have a kitchenette with a microwave that I used quite often. That was helpful. The AC in the bedroom was loud enough to wake the dead. Two TVs was nice, though. Occasional roach roaming around. Yeah...ok. Bathroom was really dated. Toilet weak and inefficient. More occasional roaches roaming around. Ohh..lovely view of that disgusting pool from my bedroom window. I think the main issue was the quality of people that stay there. They are the type that don't consider others around them. Loud and thoughtless. You'll hear loud conversations and 'get togethers' in the hallway at 2 -3 in the morning. During my extended stay at this hotel there were several knock-down fights between couples. The police were there several times during my stay. For some reason I think they're accustomed to being called there. Oh, for your convenience, If you do need to buy drugs, I'm sure you can be accommodated in the parking lot, with perhaps a hooker or two to go along with it. I think that's their 'amenity package'. Yup...class act this place is. On the website they prominently display COVID 19 safety protocols that are practiced at the facility. Don't believe it. It's not at all true. I was the only one wearing a mask (I'm from up north in NYC). Both staff and guest were behaving as if there was no pandemic. No social distancing; people pack into the elevator (when it was working..50/50 chance), and just plain irresponsible behavior by not requiring mask. Overall, there is no compelling reason to stay at this hotel. None, whatsoever. I'm so sorry to leave a less than positive review...but 'it is what it is.' Hope this helps.

From the phone call to the front doir to the room Bobby has been the best. The rooms are super clean and his staff is impeccable! Him and his staff made my stay so pleasurable while I am in transition. I love the hospitality of the staff, the breakfast is THE BOMB.com. This crew is the best and I have ever experienced. I've stayed in a lot of hotels and hands down Bobby and his crew are the best!!!!

Got a deal for my rewards. Well I must of got the worst room in the place. Shower curtain torn as well as the bed shams. 5th floor no water pressure with a slow draining tub. Musky Odor in the room. Metal decor rusting. Office chair had vinyl peeling from it Front desk and a stellar breakfast bar attendant deserves 5 stars.

Don't be fooled. This is not a non-smoking facility. 3rd floor reeks of smoke, so I had to change room. I did not change hotel, because we checked in late in the evening. The only room I was told available was not suitable for rental. The carpet was damp, dry wall had damage, desk held together by screws, AC held up by 2x4's, microwave old, ceiling paint above tub pealing badly & wall paper too, had to flush toilet 4x's, tub floor rusty, and they provided used bottles of shampoo. If I could rate this hotel less than a 1, I would. I can only imagine that a Motel 6 is better than this hotel.

The stay was great the workers were nice and helped with any problems if there were 10 stars i would give it overall the hotel was a great choice it was clean hotel room was pretty big and beds were super clean nothing to worry about in any shape or form highly recommended

Oh and safe. Dirty rooms with stained furniture and torn furniture. Obvious hooker activity on parking lot. Hotel rooms, hallway and lobby area smelled of cigarettes and marijuana.Hotel clerk helpful but limited in what she could do for us. Checked out after one night when planned to stay five.

The pool was broken for the 6 days we were there. The food quality was worse than cafeteria food of the movies. 2 of the three machines in the fitness center were broken. Staff was nice but they can't take the smoke smell out of the hallways or the overflowing out door garbage can that is stuffed with alcohol bottles. Really just a trashy place. Thank goodness for the staff that tried but just totally beat and worn down place. At all costs I would not want to go back.

Had a bad experience with how unhygienic the suite was, the smell of cigarette and some other negative things not expected, like old food in the microwave, the mini fridge rustic and dirty onside, a hole on the bedroom's door, etc.

The reviews that I read before booking made me think o its Best Western it can't be that bad wrong!! The room looked as if it had been shut up for years with all the dust hanging from the ceiling fan, black mold all over the bathroom walls and floor, and the sofa bed had 5 hooks to hold it up so the broken down mattress would not stay in the frame

Hotel was clean and nice, staff is excellent -- some room details need some TLC. Price was great. 24/7 Coffee was a nice touch and other than suggesting adding danish's or sweet rolls to Breakfast Menu, food was fresh and hot..

Unsafe atmosphere. Drug addicts and drug dealers have taken over this hotel. Stayed there 2 years ago and it was pretty decent nothing like what it has become. Shocked this is even a Best Western awful

Did not feel safe. Unclean outside. Poor service for room amenities. Had to request clean towels etc.and for room to be cleaned. Poor choices for breakfast. Although this hotel is the most convenient for us we will not be staying again.

Best Western is usually my choice hotel when traveling. However, I will not be returning to the one in Jacksonville. The entire hotel smelled of cigarettes. There was mold in the bathrooms. The shower rod was being held in place by scotch tape. Both rooms were dirty and had holes in the wall. We even saw a roach on the wall. The woman at the front desk behaved as if we were inconveniencing her when we told her the room key wasn't working. This is after we showed up an hour after check-in time to be told our rooms still weren't ready. Disappointed and disgusted.

This Southside (Jacksonville, Florida) Best Western Hotel was very good. However, the guest computer in the lobby. It ran the very obsolete Windows 7 and no longer connects to the internet. Bring your own computer and you will be very happy with the hotel.

We stayed here twice before as a weekend get away. This time is most likely the last. The room we reserved WAS NOT available, So we were showed another room, Not even close, The second room was open and it looked like someone had just kinda moved things around and pulled the shower curtain rod off the wall. The third room was ok but still was two queen beds instead of a king. We figured we'ld give it a chance, and try to get a King bed the next day like the desk clerk said. Big Mistake, The beds were like rocks, After a few hours in the room the smell was getting a bit much. Called the desk in the AM to see about getting another room. Was told everything was booked and we couldn't change rooms even if we stayed the second day. Well we didn't stay and most likely won't stay again. SOMEONE DROPPED THE BALL BIG TIME

I stayed at best western for a get away and the experience was horrible the rooms barely lock and the staff in the morning just busts in even before checkout. Then there was holes in the walls and around the room. There were Stains on the floor the tub wasnt cleaned out the sink wouldn't drain stains on the chairs and on the bed skirts. Overall a horrible experience

Broken doors, locks, lots of neglected maintenance. Garbage everywhere outside , smells like pot everywhere. Too many homeless residents. Way overpriced!! No sheets provided for pull out. Good luck getting to use the elevator, the staff is up and down constantly.

The place is very amazing. All the staff are so helpful and sweet. They make you feel like you are home. I look to them like they are family. They also keep to themselves so they aren't all in your buisness. Love this place

This property is by far the most disgusting and disturbing establishment we have walked into. We did not see ONE person in uniform and could not distinguish who actually worked there or not. My wife found a metal needle by the ice machine and when she reported it nothing was done. We did not see ONE staff member with the exception of 1 front desk associate that wore a mask. We will never NEVER come back to this establishment.

Such an amazing stay.... convenient to all stores as well as a major mall here in Florida. You will be greeted with friendly staff. Bobby Shook made checking in such a breeze no confusion also accommodated my request for a room away from the elevator. I was also signed up for their rewards program, stay two nights get the third free. Not sure if that's just a Florida resident accommodation. To add, you get a free continental breakfast with your stay. Give it a shot, you'll be pleasantly surprised.

After staying at a BW for 1 night in Louisiana, I thought BW in Jacksonville, FL would be better. I was wrong. Loud guest, whom I learned actually lives there. The hotel service was poor (my room wasn't serviced once in my 3 day stay).

I travel a lot thru out north fla and the I- 10 corridor and i always stay at this hotel, tye staff amd i are on first name basis and they go beyond customer service to accomodate me , it's always a pleasure when i walk in and I'm greeted with one of the staffs smiling and saying welcome back Mr Knight

This is a awesome hotel.. Everything is awesome.. Mickey and his crew really make you feel like family. Seriously. Its very clean and no pests are a plus. I will always come back and stay here. Breakfast is great too..

I would avoid this BW. It was very dirty with rooms half cleaned (dirty towel left in dresser drawer, smooge on coffee packet), there is one elevator for 5 floors, the walls are paper thin, in our room the carpet served as baseboard and it was dropping/falling off the wall - so gross! It wasn't particularly cheap either at $100/night. There are lots of other hotels in the general area, stay at one of them.

This is not a hotel. It is being used of the most part for short and long term housing. The police are here hourly due to the issues the "guests" staying here are always causing. The entire property is dirty, outdated and in disrepair. With the exception of a few, staff and management here are useless in addressing any issues. Prostitutes roam the property and halls and the staff seems to not only ignore it but support all the illegal activities. My family and I did not feel safe here and someone tried to enter out room more than once. We left as quickly as we possibly could and have no intention on ever returning to this location. This is the worst Best Western I've ever stayed at. I would rather sleep in my car at a rest stop.

The breakfast give you something too look forward to everyday. Very nice staff that goes above and beyond to assure you have a great experience. These people care about guests and their establishment nice landscaping and great upkeep in the inside. No excessive traffic from outsiders, very comfortable and cozy I have nothing bad too say. This place deserves to be 5 Stars for sure. Thank You!

This hotel looked good as we pulled up and that was pretty much the end of anything good here. After receiving the keys we headed to our 1st room to find we were not given the correct room number so we had to go back to the desk to get the key changed. Upon entering we were hit with a moldy, stale, and humid smell. The air was on but they didn't do any good. We were then switched to another room across the hall. That room smelled a little better but had a toilet non stop running and the smoke detector pulled out of the wall and missing completely with the wires hanging down. Ok now I'm getting a bit upset. Another call and were moved again. This time we were sent to a suite. It was better but the lady, I think a housekeeper (who was trying to help us) beat us there and sprayed I think a full can of air freshener before we walked in. It was a spacious room and better than the other two. The employees were kind and trying to help but this hotel is run down and in bad shape. The pool looked dirty and the chairs and table at the area as well. Most of the chairs broke and table in bad shape. The coffee in the morning was good and breakfast not bad especially since covid restrictions.

The Bride and I sometimes like to get away from the home front for a few days. Well we couldn't go far so we stayed here being it was close to home but far enough away we could get back if needed. When the staff found out it was a special night they offered a early check in and the room was set up very nice with a few things I had ask for. They even let me pick from 2 different rooms as we wanted one with the Whirlpool Tub. We had a Great Time and it was a night to remember. The Room Was Nice, The Staff Was Great. Breakfast Was Good.

I paid for a hotel and the money went out my account and said something went wrong And received a email that says it take 24 hours for it to go back in and it has been three days I am very disappointed in this company I can not get in tough with nobody. Where is my 76 dollars if it don't show up In 7 days I will call my bank and tell them what happened and I bet it will come in then cause I am in the military navy federal don't play.

The exterior is not kept well. It needs cleaning and a good mow and trimming plus the parking lot is cramped. When we first pulled up there was a policeman there probably trying to help break up an altercation. The rooms seemed clean and did NOT have bugs; otherwise, we would've left the first night. The cleaning ladies and food service lady were very nice and helpful which helped us feel at home despite the old and run-down feel of the place. There's one tiny, old elevator for everyone to use which felt “unsafe” during this time of a pandemic with most of the clientele NOT wearing masks. We paid about $69/night so at least it was priced right. The phone in our room didn't work and wasn't replaced during the 3 days there after reporting it. There were other broken items there that didn't seem to merit the attention of the owner or manager. Again, the workers were wonderful and it was bug-free but it isn't a place we'll stay again. I'm attaching a picture of the chair in our room...worn faux leather that immediately made the place look bad.

The room was nice, but could have been cleaned better. (Carpeting and walls in bathroom). Staff were very friendly and prompted to any request. Good value for the money. The sofa in the living room of the suite was not very comfortable. I only sat in it once.

I love the staff. Highly respectful. I would recommend anyone to come to stay at the best western hotel anytime. It's my getaway. And the breakfast is always good. Never had one complaint with the company I would so go back !

We booked for the 4th of July and our rate was very reasonable, our room was very nice it was like a mini suite with a livingroom separate from the bedroom, and a little kitchen, room was very clean and inviting, we will return.

I only stayed at this because (mostly) all of the reviews were good. This hotel was nothing like what I expected. It was extremely outdated, the room smelled like mildew and the bathroom needed an extreme makeover. I feel as if I paid about $30 more than I should have. I would compare this hotel to a motel 6. I hate leaving bad reviews, but I just want people to know the truth.

The room definitely needs some maitenance/updating. The baseboard was peeling away from the wal and the carpet could use a deep cleaning.I have to say that we cleaned the bathroom floor when we got there and there was minimal dirt on the wipe, so kudos to your cleaning staff. The fridge didn't seem to cool very well but it was enough to keep stuff cold. Beds were comfortable enough.

We've stayed at Southside Hotel and Suites many times. We were a bit nervous traveling during Covid period. I felt very safe staying here. Handicapped buttons were installed on all exterior door. You could use your elbow rather than door push bars. Our room was super clean and very comfortable. We plan to stay again next time we are in the area. I'd highly recommend staying here.

things were going smooth the first two days. after that it went down hill. cleanliness was not to standards. mattress was lumpy and noisey. Breakfast was great. guest still forgot to santitized their hands before entering the breakfast area. Sign needs to be at eye level, not taped to the overhead.

The staff was amazing. The room was clean. The outside noise was very high though which made it hard for me to rest. The bed was too hard for my taste also but, I prefer a touch softer beds. Small rooms. Clean with a desk and everything you need though.

If you need to be near the Naval Air Station, in Orange Park, FL. this hotel is 3 miles from base, comfortable, with a great group of employees.Also, breakfast starts at 6AM so perfect if you have to leave early.

I stayed at this hotel for one night. It is clean and I was given a room that was quiet and pleasant. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Breakfast was very good with additional items that I didn't expect like bagels and also cups of pudding. Fresh fruit (bananas). Overall a good experience.

Staff was friendly and remembered my face from one day to the next. Always felt welcomed while at the hotel. Rooms were clean and everything worked (microwave, fridge, lights...etc). I didnt have a bad experience during the 3 days we stayed there. I would definitely stay again.

Our room was comfortable and clean and accomodated my needs with a roll-in shower. The front desk clerk Matthew was extremely helpful by solving a transportation dilemma we faced. The breakfast offered a nice variety.

Worse hotel ever. Hotel was old, smelled like smoke and mold. Rooms are very outdated and beds awful. Had a problem with our room and they had to move us and our new room had no ac. when i called again the said just keep the fan on.. not acceptable, It was tooo expensive for the bad hotel it is. We travel all the time and will NEVER stay here again.. The breakfast they claim was not a breakfast. BAD

Location – lots of dining choices near by, Hotel – older 6 story hotel showing its age, Only 1 elevator to service 6 floors, Room – Large room with small kitchenette, better cleaning needed, window curtains were stained, ceiling had water marks/stains, I have seen better desk chairs in the dump ! AC unit was banged up but fortunately worked, Internet – good – 10 mbps down, 7 mbps up, Breakfast – quality of food not the best, eggs were tasteless and crumbly, Other – there is a general lack of maintenance & cleanliness throughout the hotel

Stayed one night on our way south, while visiting relatives in the area. Breakfast was standard and delicious. The room was spacious and adequate, although the bathroom fan was a little loud. The desk personnel were very kind and considerate during our stay. Location was a little tricky to get there, but easy for the GPS and close to the interstate.

This hotel was great! Staff was very friendly and went above and beyond to be courteous and professional. Would definitely choose for another stay. Check-in was quick. Room was clean and appropriate in appearance.

Very friendly and accommodating owner; even threw a Superbowl party for guests. Hotel and room fine, nothing special but clean. Upgraded us due to reward status so king room was large and roomy. Good safety rails in bathroom. Bed and pillows, while okay, could use an upgrade. Breakfast standard for chain; breakfast room clean and constantly restocked. Overall pleasant stay.

I will not ever stay at this hotel again. The bathroom had cut carpet stapled as the base boards. The wood flooring was seperatting. The room was probably very nice back in 1987. There was blood stains on the sheets and a large stain, possibly blood, on the chair. The room smelled badly. My children were afraid to sleep on the sheets. They slept in their clothes. We moved to Hampton Inn the next day.

As Jacksonville grows larger and larger, especially on the west side, the need for a hotel like the Best Western at the corner of 17 and 295, is clear. It is really nice to have a stable, predictable, clean place to stay when on business in South West Jacksonville.

Place is clean and the staff is very accommodating. Breakfast wasn't the greatest but it was still good and the variety was excellent. Very quiet considering it is near the on ramp for a busy freeway. I was only there for one night so didn't get to experience everything but the hotel appeared to have everything one would need for an extended stay.

We stay at this hotel at least once a year, for a week. Our stays are always exceptional. If there is a problem it is dealt with promptly. Staff is ALWAYS courteous, friendly, helpful, willing to go the extra mile. Breakfast is AWESOME! When you take the price of the hotel and consider the breakfast provide, the quality of the room and care from the staff - it has to be the best value found in the Orange Park / Jacksonville area. Encourage anyone to spend the night.

I love this hotel we always stay here when we in town for family reunions & death in family. I love the staff & their professionalism. They always have a smile on their faces. The hotel is very clean & if there is a problem they quickly fix it

Three hour drive to be with my daughter and become a first time grandfather. Needed a place to stay and took a chance on this BW hotel based on affordable room rates. So glad I chose this place. It was a wonderful place to stay and only 10 minutes from hospital and my brand new granddaughter.

i got great service from the personal all of them especially the hotel manger Bobby Shook and front desk Loretta Rudel and all the personal were great and friendly one of the best hotels we have stayed in

The entire team continue to go above and beyond to make each and every day enjoyable. We never even consider using another hotel when we stay in the area. The rooms are clean and nicely decorated. I wouldn't change a thing.

The rooms are at the standards of a motel. The cleanliness does not exist. The water is at a luke warm temperature and the rooms have a horrible odor. After bringing my issues about the room to the hotel staff I was moved at a much lower quality room then the original room I was in. Imagine that. Additionally, there was some one else's hair in the sheets and inside of the towel, after feel some one else‘s hair rub against my clean, wet skin after a shower I had to retake a shower and air dry. It is very safe to say I will not book here again!

Overall, very satisfied with this unit. Train noise until about midnight, but quiet after that. It's near the highway, so occasional sirens were heard. Bathtub drain plug wouldn't stop, but that was the only problem we had. Breakfast was good with a very hard-working attendantl

Great location. Easy access to main highways. Friendly staff immediately at check-in. Accommodation was more than I expected. Great price! Comfortable and roomy. Clean. Housekeeping and at check-out, again, for friendly. Customer service excellent!

Very inexpensive but great quality stay. The rooms are bigger than a standard size room and very clean. There are signs that some upgrades need to be made; but nothing that ruins your stay. The staff was very helpful and friendly as well.

Excellent room and decor. The entire customer service from the entrance to the maid service all earned an excellent rating. The pool was clean, breakfast was hot and plentiful. Everything was as it should be i will be coming back.

Easy to find, comfortable bed, and easy check in and out. pros: nice check in person. nice rooms and nice size room. cons: room had a musty smell; don't have list of tv channels; the only thing I did not like about the breakfast is the eggs. the omletes were not good; they should do scrambled eggs and not omletes. The breakfast was warm not hot. The only thing I did not like is that the people in room 201 kept going in and out of there room all night long.

From the moment we all walked in the door we had a wonderful experience! Staff was great, breakfast was awesome and the hotel was very well kept! The beds and pillows were so soft. The towels were so super soft I would love to buy some for home if only I could afford them! The room was beautifully decorated and everything was new and fresh looking.

Thought that there were some modern upgrades to the hotel, and they were noticeable. I like the set up of the room, looked like a little suite, but whoever stayed prior to myself, or even prior to that person had to be a chain smoker. The smell from the exhaust fan was pure cigarette smoke. No air freshener or disinfectant spray cut the odor from the bathroom, so I just kept the door closed. Other than that the air quality from the air conditioner was stale, and again nothing I sprayed helped the odor. I spent more time away from the room than in it, so I never switched rooms, but you get what you pay for and non-smoking means nothing to a chain smoker!

We changed hotels at 11 pm because the hotel we were at was filthy. The moment we walked into the BestWestern we felt soooooo good. Front desk gentleman was so nice and helpful. The room was amazing and we only paid $20. Thank you for making us feel comfortable about were we were staying!

From the very first time I came in I've always been treated as a king with the utmost respect, and I have never had any problems at this hotel. Breakfast and staff members and cleanliness of the rooms are always above and beyond.

Very nice hotel. The lobby was very pretty and trendy. The room (Rm 201) had a really mildewy smell; possibly from the carpet. Might suggest deep cleaning the carpet or even remove all carpet from rooms and replace with hard floor lament or similar.

The staff were very professional and helpful. Room was dated but acceptable. Overall not a bad place to stay. It's not the best place I've stayed at but definitely not the worse. The free breakfast is probably one of the best free breakfasts I had. They actually had a true hot breakfast.

Hotel was nice, room was spacious, and staff was very friendly and helpful. Not far from mall and restaurants it's just in an awkward location so as long as you have GPS you'll be fine. The only problem I had with my stay was with the bathroom. The toilet was so close to the wall you had to sit sideways on it, and the chair (not desk chair) needed to be cleaned.

Had some work to do in north Florida, and the centrail location of this Best Western, at US 17 and 295, was ideal. Was able to access both the southside near Mandarin, and the westside near the Navy Base and points west, from the same location. Right next to the interstate, but quiet.

Hubby and I stayed here for 2 nights. We had a Spa Bath room. Bed was firmer than I like it, but still nice. Loved our spa bath, room was huge. Pool was on the smaller side, but we had it to ourselves so it didn't bother us. Would definitly stay here again

I stayed in the Executive Double Queen Sweet room, and I have got to say wow. The room was clean and fresh, clean and massive! It was like a mini apartment fully furnished with 2 43-inch TV's. 10/10 would stay again.

The rooms were dated and our door did not shut properly. Upon returning to our hotel later in the evening I was inappropriately greeted by the male hotel staff. This encounter made me feel unsafe to be alone.

This hotel was renovated in 2015 and is showing its wear. The rooms have a strange, decomposing smell for lack of a better term- seems they are trying to mask the smell of a former smoking room as it is a non smoking hotel now. Another family member was staying on the 5th floor and their room also had that same odor but not as bad. The front desk staff was very courteous and the breakfast staff did a good job keeping the breakfast area supplied. The housekeeping staff made up our bed but did not empty waste baskets or replace towels we had placed on the floor. After missing the first day, they did better the second day. We did not see any roaches as were mentioned in older reviews. I read the reviews before we selected this hotel - it is rated #4 out of 13 hotels in the area. We considered asking for another room until we noticed that our other family members room also had that same odorous coverup smell.

Nice hotel to stop at if you're in the area. Restaurants nearby and easy access to the expressway. Breakfast was just ok. Rooms were clean but the tub area could have used a little touch up. Staff was friendly.

Have stayed at this property 4 times since 2017 and have enjoyed every time. The cleanliness of the rooms is appreciated and consistently meets expectations. The friendliness of the staff indicates a professionalism that the staffs of some other properties could learn from. Located conveniently off the Interstate and near to restaurants provides an added advantage to guests. The breakfast area is spotless with adequate seating for patrons to be able to enjoy the variety of hot and cold items available. As a frequent leisure traveler who spends in excess of 50 nights annually in Best Western properties throughout the US, it is easy for me to say that this property earns and deserves my repeat business.

Couldn't have been any better, Great location. Staff is very freindly and top's in everything. I will stay there every time im or around Jacksonville. They have the best breakfast in town. Have stayed there for the last eight years and have never found a better place in Jacksonville or Orange Park.

My wife and I stayed here for 2 nights in the beginning of April. Check in was a breeze, our room was huge! It had a separate “sitting” room. Furniture was updated, very comfy bed. Very clean as well. Nice early breakfast starting @ 6am. Would definitely stay again!

Nice and clean, good breakfast, staff friendly, only stayed one night, all was well, check in and check out was quick without any issues. Only issues I had was the directions to the hotel, one needs to study the map carefully to find correct entrance especially at night.

Close to JAX base, sometimes crowded parking when trucks with trailors take up majority of parking. If you park prior to 10pm, you'll have no problem. There is one washer/dryer if needed. Small fitness center with one treadmill.

My husband and I have stayed at this hotel three years in row for Daytona bike week..newly renovated super clean..staff is amazing, always arrive before check in time and they always have our room ready for early check in no extra cost... Bernadette who is in charge of the breakfast in the morning, makes homemade banana nut bread..IT IS THE BEST. Hotel is close to highway but you don't hear it. Beds are comfy. Conveniently located to restraunts and shopping. It feels like home away from home when we walk through the doors...see you next year!

Very nice atmosphere, a quiet hotel, a great process & awesome breakfast! The check in was easy with accommodating staff. Mickey Kalra , the general manager was very customer focused and made my sister and I assurance that we would have a quite room. I had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Kumar Kalra, the owner, who very genuine and took the time to talk with the customers during the breakfast time. I was impressed with the rooms, the very fresh atmosphere and clean surrounding of the entire hotel. When I returned to Jacksonville, NC I will make sure to stay at this Best Western.

Overall the staff was ok; however my room smelled like stinky feet and the bed was horrible. Considering I didn't have choice because of the other hotels being sold out. The manager made sure to let me know he could give the room to someone else at a higher price if I wasn't happy with it. I don't usually comment on hotels, but when I wake up barely able to stand up because the bed is that horrible. I thought I need to let it be known.

The smell was very bad. After a little while it becomes less noxious, but I had to bring up my travel air diffuser into the room to make it more comfortable. Cancelled a 2 night stay after the 1st night. Beds are not comfortable. Staff is nice and let me cancel my 2nd night without issue, and the breakfast is nice too, but this hardly makes up for rest of experience. My rating on cleanliness and room is based on the smell. I would not be surprised if there are mold and mildew issues that we cannot see.

We stayed here before flying out of Jacksonville NAS. The GM and staff was very friendly. Room was nice, definitely would stay again if in the area. Good location to everything we had time to do before flying out.

In town for a family funeral and the management was excellent about rearranging prior hotel reservations and placing the family on the same floor. I have stayed at this hotel for 8 years visiting my parents in a retirement home. Great value for the money.

We had such a great stay! The guy who checked us in was outstanding! I think his name was Matt. He said all the right things to make us feel welcome and was so nice to everyone checking in. Even after we checked in, he took the time to help us get logged on to the internet because I was kind of confused. The manager Bobby is the nicest person ever and the rooms were so clean. Our family loved the hot breakfast so please keep it up. We love this place and will be back!

Don't stay here if you value a hot shower. Stayed at this hotel 2/15-2/17....water in shower was barley luke warm. The rest of our group had the same problem in their rooms. In complaining to the staff I got the sense that the manager keeps the hot water turned down to save on energy expenses and make more profit at the expense of his customer's comfort.

Service was wonderful. Room was very nice. Location was odd, has a back road that leads to everything, also quiet. Best was customer service. Least was breakfast, just a normal breakfast. Overall this place was wonderful for on a budget families, will stay here again. This hotel is well taken care of, well cared for.

The room was very well kept and clean. All the appliances and internet were fully functional. The bed was very comfortable. The lighting was good for the eyes. The floods were clean and the bathroom was very very clean.

Could be cleaner. Elevators were dirty. Our room had trash on the carpet. Edge of the carpeting has not been vacuumed in a long time. Faucet to the show was ready to fall off. Drain plug to shower was broken. Bathroom door did not close. This hotel is in need of major maintenance. Breakfast in the morning was not eatable. One good thing about this hotel the beds are very comfortable.

Four-night stay, awesome time. Great complimentary breakfast, friendly staff, fast internet. Will definitely stay here next time down to Jacksonville. Easy access to I-295, plenty of shopping and dining options a very short drive away. Nothing really within walking distance, so wheels a definite must.

I chose this location given both the price point and the great reviews I have read below. It did not disappoint. All the staff was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast bar was clean and well stocked at all times and was run by Bernadette (wonderful person!) who went out of her way to introduce herself and remembered my name as well! I was pleasantly surprised that they upgraded my standard room to a king bed junior suite which was VERY large and quite comfortable to stay in for the 10 days we were there. You could see that the hotel was recently updated and everything felt neat and clean. I also checked out their standard king bed room and that looked pretty roomy all in all as well. I will definitely be coming back here next year when I visit my family again!

Visit Jacksonville regularly and often stay at this hotel .... it is centrally located for business west of the St Johns, an dsouth of Downtown .....Nice hotel, quiet building, good folk. I will stay there again in the future, I am sure.

As I just reviewed hotel room had a musky smell and breakfast to short a timeframe for leisure travelers. We were visiting elderly relatives and stayed there late to maximize the visit for grandma. After traveling and visiting all day a 9 or 930 breakfast complete is too early.

The staff was so very friendly and helpful. I wanted to put ice in a small cooler, staff saw me looking for the ice, she went into the kitchen, got me a plastic pitcher to put the ice in. Very helpful without having to ask. Really enjoyed my stay. Will be staying again.

I stayed at this property back in July for the first time. I specifically picked this property because they had advertised Tesla chargers. When I arrived both Tesla chargers were not working. Based off of the error lights on the chargers it seems that they were not installed correctly(both were installed as masters instead of one master and one sub). I explained it to the front desk clerk and they said they would have them fixed. Stayed there again a couple weeks ago(Mid October) and the chargers still don't work and still have the same error lights. Please fix this issue or myself and other Tesla owners won't choose to stay at your hotel. Rest of the hotel stay was acceptable but when you expect to be able to charge your car overnight and can't, that is a huge inconvenience!

I'm here for a family emergency (parent on life support in a nearby hospital) and the service, and compassion from all here in this hotel is amazing. I'm crying tears of gratitude and I can focus on the family emergency knowing that all details are perfect. I basically needed just a room and shower but was so impressed with everything from the compassionate greeting to a clean, and Safe room which allowed me to relax despite what my family and I are going through. I highly recommend this hotel, it's modern, clean, easy to get to and the staff is the best. I cannot thank (or praise) them enough.

They really went out of there way to make sure we had a great stay! The room was very nice, the facility was very clean! The staff was super friendly. Breakfast was so good! It was very close to NAS JAX so we could see our son often! I've stayed at other hotels in Jacksonville, but will stay here for future visits!

Very pleased with the Best Western and their staff, clean, good food and comfortable room with good internet connection. I have said all the other good reviews on other questions, but we totally recommend this Motel to anyone traveling in the Orange Park area of Florida.

This Best Western was convenient for our visit with family. The staff was friendly and rooms were clean and comfortable. Noise from outside the room was minimal. A nice breakfast buffet was offered. We didn't use the pool but the setting was nice and it looked clean.

I would not want to stay more than one night. Staff was friendly and courteous, but the room was in need of repairs and could use a better cleaning. The area was convenient, but you get what you pay for!!

Traveling for a soccer tournament and this was the hotel we all stayed in as a group. Checking into our first room after a 6hr drive and coming in at almost 9pm, we pulled the sheets back to get into bed and there was hair all over the bed. We were put into another room after complaining and there was poop all in the toilet in the second room. It was the most unpleasant hotel stay I have ever experienced in my life.

I requested an early check in but when we arrived the room was not ready. So my daughter and I went and grabbed some lunch. When we came back the room was ready and they had upgraded us. Beautiful room and excellent service. Pristine bed sheets and pillows.

I spent one night at this hotel. Stayed on the 5th floor, rm 504. It was clean and the beds were comfortable which was all i was really hoping for. I could hear people in their rooms fairly easy in the hallways but once in my room it was quiet. The hallway was a little run down looking but the room was good. The free breakfast in the morning was pretty good. Make your own waffles, hot eggs and bacon, biscuits and gravy, cereal, bagels, fruit, juices, and coffee.

The staff certainly made this stay a great experience. It was also easy to get to this hotel and was very centrally located for the places we needed to go to. There was plenty of parking and the pool was nice Although, we were very near a highway, we did not hear any traffic noise. This is a great benefit to a good night's sleep.

I stayed at the Best Western on Jacksonville's southwest side, with easy access across the bridge to offices and dining in the southside. The location is ideal. After checkout, I left behind a small bag of chocolates purchsed as gifts for some associates in Jacksonville, and the staff at the hotel secured the anonymous bag and gave it to me on my return. Nice touch, great service, nice hotel.

It was ok. The room was clean for the most part. The bathroom trash had some toilet paper in it when we arrived. The rooms are solid, kids were playing and you couldn't hear it too much. The pool was dirty. The beds are very comfortable and the breakfast is good. It isn't big enough though. There is quite a crowd at breakfast.

We stayed for 5 days and 4 nights. The staff were very friendly and professional. Housekeeping every day. Rooms were clean, fresh towels every day. Full warm breakfast :) waffles, sausages, bacon, eggs, yogurts, bagels, and much more!!!! definitely recommend it!! Felt safe :) no bugs , wonderful furniture. No complaints

This hotel is located in convenient place for travelers. However cleanness (in elevator, hallways) was 3. My room was clean but I had no idea why it's so humid and floor in bath was slippery. Ice machine on 4th floor didn't work. I think hotel has very good breakfast.

This was a very good value for the area. I drove an extra 6 miles off I95 and it was worth it! It is an older Hotel but very clean and everything we needed worked great. The Breakfast bar had the extra touch!

We used this hotel midway of a trip and especially to avoid the Georgia Hotel sales tax of 13%. THey even called me at 8 pm to make sure I was still coming and going to make it. I told them I was 2 hours out. Very nice and friendly service. Easy access off interstate, and extremely helpful and friendly staff. Nice clean room but it was really different than average hotels. Sink and all in bedroom. Only toilet and shower behind the door. Ice machine on second floor so you have to walk to it. Great vending, ice. pool, breakfast and facilities. There were several family reunions going on here. I would definitely recommend this or the next nice BW is 200+ to the north in Santee, SC I have stayed at them all in between and I am telling your the truth.

All the usual amenities of BW. Very friendly staff. This location is the most north of all, only one north of 295 and in an isolated location. I thought hotel was clean. However, exercise room was very smelly. I got a decent rate, so it was a decent stay.

We stay here when we come to visit family as they have great service! They have ice filled water with limes available as you come in the lobby all day as well as coffee. They have lots to choose from for their continental breakfast such as toast, bagels, muffins, and biscuits along with sausage gravy. You can choose between scrambled eggs or egg/cheese omelette. They have sausage patties or links and bacon. They have three different cereals to choose from, two types of milk, orange juice or apple juice. They also offer fresh made waffles, fresh fruit, and yogurt. We were given extra towels, pillows, and soap along with shampoo, conditioner, face wipe, and shower cap. The staff is helpful and friendly and responds to your call. We will be back!

We stayed on the ground level and the room had a constant smell of mold when you come in. The lock was broken, 1 part of the ceiling was broken , the ceiling vent in the bathroom was very loud. This hotel need serious renovation as it is outdated. Also I was very shocked that the management decides to use foam and plastic ustensils for their breakfast buffet. Not environmental friendly at all...

We were there for both business and pleasure. Everywhere we were in and around the grounds was clean and presentable. Hotel room was more than adequate with a work table and separate area for kitchen. The only elevator was broken at one point as we passed, but was repaired very shortly. The breakfast area and available items were what you'd expect. Food was fresh and well restocked.

I have stayed at this hotel several times and have always enjoyed it. Clean, modern, wifi non available most of the time but that did not bother me. I am not in the room that much since I am working during the day. What I did not realize is that they DO NOT HAVE SECURITY CAMERAS OUTSIDE, I assumed that a hotel of this brand and reputation would have them for the safety of their guests as well as a deterrent to any crime happening. I had a very expensive Honda EU7000is generator cable locked in the back of my pick up truck, backed in to a parking space with shrubs and located right as you come into the property. Did everything I could to make sure nothing like this could happen. That mistake has costs me $4000. The hotel does not think they are liable for even my $1000 deductible. Luckily my home owners insurance is paying for the other $3000 I needed to purchase another generator. The generator weighs 300-350#s so this was not a one person snatch and grab crime. They had to cut the cable and have at least one or two more people to help lift the generator out and through the beat down shrubs. Without the security tape the police are helpless to try and recover the generator unless the thieves do try to pawn it and the pawn shops sees the serial number on the database as stolen. When I contacted the hotel the manager told me they were now "considering" putting in cameras. I can't believe the hotel's insurance company would not require them to have them. I told him I would give them 24 hours to respond to my request for the deductible payment and they have now had at least 36. So that tells me they do not care if their guests are safe. I hope if you are reading this review that you let them know you are not booking with them because you do not feel safe.

The room was mildewy smelling,black mold in upper corner of bathroom, damp feeling in room. And the light in bathroom was very dim., the exhaust fan in bathroom was dirty. The hotel was was renovated at one time it seems. The workers did a poor job. Will never stay here again.

Satisfied with all the facilities, they make me feel at home. I will be back gain next month as I have been staying here regularly for the past ten years. Good location, friendly staff, good breakfast, easily reached from the Interstate plus some good BBQ places very close by.

The hotel was decent. Clean room and comfortable bed. General maintenance could be improved as evidenced by the condition of the carpet and the exterior of the building. The breakfast was good and I especially like the waffles.

Hotel smells as soon as you enter the lobby. Could smell cigarette smoke on elevator. Beds were uncomfortable. No tub in bathroom. Definitely needs renovating. Breakfast was terrible. Everything was cold (eggs, biscuits, even the sausage gravey). I ended up throwing it out and just ate a bagel. I would not recommend this hotel

My husband and I spent the weekend at this hotel we were visiting from Savannah , Ga to attend the UniverSOUL circus. ; we stayed April6-9. We were originally gonna leave the 8th, but we were so comfortable we stayed an extra night. We started off on the wrong foot because when we first got our king room there was hair in our bed and in our tub. I immediately went to the front desk because we were not about to be in a dirty room. The guy at the front desk mickey made sure someone came up and cleaned the tub and changed the sheets while we were there in the room. So i would definitely be staying at this hotel again when we visit Jacksonville !!

This hotel is far from excellent! First of all DO NOT let the pictures deceive you. It is amazing what a nice camera and good lighting will produce. The hotel has a stale smell that even the best air freshener couldn't mask. I found fingernails on the carpet and dust everywhere. There was even toothpaste on the back of the front door. They offer a continental breakfast but I wouldn't dare eat it.

My family and I had a unplanned trip to Jacksonville To See family, we stayed at BW and to our surprise it was very pleasant. The Suite we stayed in had two queen beds & 2 pull out queen bed couch's it was very spacious for our party of 6 . The rooms were very clean and well kept . The breakfast was the kids favorite they offered a variety of hot items , biscuits & Gravy , waffles , eggs, sausage along with the basics bread ,bagels, fresh fruit. The staff was very friendly and accommodating when we had questions... what a value this was price wise and location! Will be staying again our next trip to the area.

BW Southside is a real value for one's money. Rooms are clean, comfy beds, a decent breakfast bar, and a staff that knows the value of service. We choose this facility when in Jax area for several days two-three times a year for the combination of service, price, and location.

We recently stayed at the Best Western for a night. The room was a very nice size, clean, and with a comfy bed. Service was acceptable at the front desk. Street noise is very loud on a Friday night, and it really sounded as if the road is a common spot for people to race their cars. Many engines revving late into the night. In the morning, the shower never got warm despite me waiting about five minutes to see if it would warm up. It was too cold for me, so those who highly value a hot shower and a quiet room might want to look elsewhere.

Check in was fine. Room itself was very large. However, the laminate floors made it seem very cold and uncomforting. The sofas were extremely uncomfortable. The bathroom had a large hairball under the sink and I saw 2 roaches. The bathroom itself was much to small considering the space for the bedroom and dayroom.

Sorry to say this hotel didn't make a good impression. Will it do in a pinch, sure. Why: our door lock was faulty & had to be worked on by maintenance, the hot water only got warm, the floor of the tub was stained so it looked dirty, outside the tub around the baseboard area and creeping upward - was falling apart from water damage. The carpeting looked like it hadn't been shampooed in years. We had the breakfast and survived, but some in our group were nervous to do so!

I was very impressed with the room I got for the price I paid. It was very clean and comfortable; I had two very good nights of sleep on my bed. Having the sink across from the bed was a bit unusual, but it was very clean and well-kept, and I was able to keep all of my grooming and oral hygiene aids on the sink's good-sized counter. It was very convenient to all Jacksonville-area activities (about a half hour from downtown, where I went to see a show) and to many area restaurants (I ate breakfast one morning at the Metro Diner about 2 miles away). I would recommend this hotel if you are on a budget and need a clean, comfortable and adequate room convenient to many points of interest.

Quite. nice people at the front desk. Room was clean with hot water and comfortable bed . The continental breakfast was typical to any other hotel but whar really made a difference was the price for the room

Had no hot water, called front desk said they're working on it but questioned why they failed to mention it at check in, not apologetic. Hard to wait over an hr to get cool water, was late to a family viewing because of this. Still no hot water the following morning. Our 3 days here ended yup being one. Do not stay on the side with the gym opposite side had hot water.

The front desk staff was very nice and accommodating. We had no reservations but have always found Best Westerns to be very nice. The room was clean but it was postage stamp size. Bathroom was very dimly lit and the sink to wash in was in the bedroom area almost directly across from the bed - needed to use the sink in the dark if you were with someone else. Breakfast was disappointing. The orange juice was watered down terribly. Only 1 restaurant close by - the rest were over a mile away. I would not stay at this hotel again.

On a weekend populated by a great many first timers coming to JAX for the NFL playoffs, the hotel seemed very busy the entire weekend. Staff and facilities were ready for the crowds, and the hotel was neither noisy nor messy, despite all the crowds. Really a good experience

Great hotel to stay at and I would recommend it. Good hot breakfast, Attentive staff, room was very clean. I had very little issues with this hotel. My only issues were that it took a long time for the water to get hot and that the internet provided was extremely slow. Otherwise, it was a great stay!

Nice hotel for the money, clean and very reasonable. Close to NAS Jax, shopping and plenty of restaurants to choose from. Easy access to the interstate and US 17, just a short drive across the bridge and you'll be in Mandarin.

I chose this hotel for the location near what I was going to be doing while in the Jacksonville area. That said, the hotel is easy to access right off 295. The location is kind of off by itself on the one side of 295 - there are a ton of restaurants on the other side that are a quick car ride away. Overall, I would say this is a fairly decent area and felt safe/comfortable. The check-in process was quick and easy (I had prepaid on TripAdvisor) and was given the option of choosing my floor - I chose the first floor. The room (a single Queen) was nice, clean and decent for the rate that I paid. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was clean. My only complaint was the noise from the other rooms as people shut their doors (they slammed really loud) and most people aren't considerate enough to realize that they need to shut their doors quietly. There was a small gap under the door that allowed some sound in as well but I just put a towel down to try and mute the sound. The room had a nice size TV, small fridge, coffee maker and a desk. Breakfast was served in the lobby and included a mix of hot/cold items - eggs, bacon, waffles, muffins, cereal, oatmeal, juice/milk/coffee - nothing spectacular but it served its purpose. Check out was a breeze since I had already prepaid. I would recommend this hotel and would have no problem staying here again in the future.

For the price, you can find a better hotel. Not impressed. The reservation was for a special time with my husband, bed too soft, nice Jacuzzi but it took forever to get the water hot to enjoy it. Doors from the lobby would open for anybody, did not need to use you room card, did not make me feel safe.

The only thing that I wish they could do is mix the breakfast up a little bit.... it gets old after a week. Otherwise excellent good place to stay close to JAX. Easy drive to St. Augustine and outlets

Cannot recommend this hotel if you want hot water. Lame excuse from staff - "We're at near full capacity." They should not rent out extra rooms if they can't provide basic hot water to all customers. We heard from other guests that this has been a problem since at least Thanksgiving. Will request some type of refund.

This spot was most convenient to the Naval Air Station for activities there. Clean and a very tasty breakfast layout. However, the room was a bit too stuffy and no air-system change seemed effective at reducing that. Also, the pool is not heated. In addition, the fitness center was mixed: some equipment needed adjustment not to create banging noises and the TV remote could not be found. Convenient to groceries and restaurants in the area by car with some variety 5-10 minutes from there.

Very Nice hotel. A little renovation work being done but we were never disturbed by it. Room was clean and bed was really comfortable. Bathroom was super clean. Breakfast was great. Would definitely stay again.

The people are very nice. The rooms are OK. They are clean and the rooms modern. However I can't conceive on the percentage of "excellent" or "very good" ratings. The masses must be correct though. I think the rooms and motel is Good. But just to get a picture in your mind, a modern Holiday Inn Express, A Hampton Inn might qualify as "very good". A Hilton may be " Excellent". This place is only good. It's ok for a night or two. You can still hear through the walls. Parking is tight. The climate control is not perfect etc.

The hotel staff were very nice and friendly. Rooms average size, bathroom very small, we didn't have hot water during our entire stay we rented two rooms during our stay. The hotel is out of the way. Easy check-in and out process...

I had 4 hotel rooms for a family reunion and each of the hotel rooms were very smelly. The hotel room had plumbing issues, no hot water, the toilet kept running over all on the floor and carpet. No hotel room service we were told after wating for someone to fix the problem because the toilet was running all over the place that we had to fix the problem and clean it up because they do not do maintence and they do not have staff available. I was not even offered another room because their seemed to be an on going problem with the plumbing and short staff.

No hot water and unclean room Do not stay here. This was the worse hotel I had to stay in. Sleep in your car before you stay here. That is how bad it is. Was planning on staying 3 nights but it was so terrible we packed up and found somewhere else to stay.

I prefer to stay in Best Western whenever i travel. Price is moderate, rooms used to be clean always. Representatives are friendly even when you contact them midnight. Above all i like the breakfast served here. More options and fresh and good food right in the morning.

Great time spent at Best Western Southside Jacksonville. Great location. Short distance to variety of shopping venues. Very close to NAS Jacksonville. Wonderful relaxing trip. Breakfast was delicious each morning and staff was very helpful.

This is one of a few hotels where offers free breakfast in this area. I heard the Best Western Hotel chains have been improving, so I gave a try. It was a mistake. The entrance doors were old scratched up hand-opening doors. The front lobby was dark and smelly. The inside elevator door were so filthy. The room appeared that it had been renovated a few years ago. It was nice that a disinfected wipe was on the phone. The sink and bathroom were cleaned, but the water smelled badly. So bad that I had to use bottled water to wash my face and brush my teeth. The hotel staffs were friendly. The breakfast attendant was a nice lady. I will not stay this hotel again.

Hotel is outdated and in desperate need of renovations and deep cleaning. The staff were very friendly and super accommodating which made the stay bearable. There is only one room in the entire hotel with a walk in shower and it was unavailable. The room itself was quiet but nothing seemed to work correctly. Internet was slow with frequent outages. There was no hot water our entire stay so we took lukewarm showers. There is mold growing in several places in the room. The curtains were stained. The bed was horrible with a sagging, creaking mattress with a huge dent in the middle. Air conditioner did not work. Breakfast was mediocre. Food ran out and was not hot. First and last stay at a best western.

Room was ok. The hotel is under a major renovation. The beds weren't very comfortable and the room had a little odor that was covered by air freshener. The towels were not very soft at all and on the small side, perfect for a child. The value and location is what sold me. Breakfast was included and was nice being we had a large group.. it made the start of our day easier to grab something and go. I think once the hotel has completed their renovations it will be a very nice experience. The staff was nice and engaging and the location was not difficult to access at all.

While the outside of this hotel looks nice, it really is not good. I could not get in our room when we first arrived because the door latch was out of alignment. Once "fixed", it would not latch, and additional work had to be done. Power flashed twice causing the TV to shut off. The breakfast is frozen stuff warmed up, and the juice machine did not work while I was there. Worst of all, the water never got warm for a shower. Spend the extra $20 and go across the street

Decent place to stay one or two nights, but the rooms are pretty tiny - you have to squeeze between the desk and bed to sit down or get up from the desk chair. Also - a MAJOR MAJOR MAJOR pet PEEVE of mine - the hotel's internet cuts in and out. I spent better than 30 minutes on the phone with "tech support" for what is clearly an issue with the hotel's router. And once more, I ended up burning through a HUGE chunk of my cell phone data plan because I had to use my cell phone as a mobile hot spot to get anything done for work. The breakfast is okay, continental-plus, but nothing that will knock your socks off. I REALLY wish they would do something about all of the doors that don't fit the frames clearly. Guests have to slam the doors to get them to close, which can get very annoying. And never mind the housekeeping staff who think nothing of slamming doors DOZENS (literally) of times as they clean rooms - if you're unlucky enough to be at the hotel while the rooms are being made up, you'll be jumping out of your skin for the continuous series of "BOOM!" "BOOM!" "BOOM!" as the housekeepers go in and out of rooms. The parking lot in back of the hotel is VERY poorly lit, and there isn't much parking in front of the hotel The only reason to stay here is the price. If I get a match or better price at another nearby property on my next trip to town, I think I'll give the other property a try.

This hotel smelled terrible. Was told by staff that it was due to water damage from hurricane. Our room smelled terrible too. We could not change rooms due to event. I had booked my room 6 weeks prior if not longer and was never given an opportunity to try a better place. The staff was nice enough but really they should of closed that place up. I will not be returning.

We had to get a hotel for one night for my son's soccer trip. The Best Western provided an excellent experience. Check in and check out were a breeze. The hotel was nice and clean. I would stay at this hotel again if we visited the same area.

The room was clean. The bed was comfortable, I felt safe abd ir was nice and quiet. The staff was friendly and it did not take long to check in. I did reserve the room on Hotels.com. I would stay here again!

Nice for the price. We would stay here again. Some furniture too large for the room. So be careful using the toilet at night, turn on a light. Odor in the Elevator, smells like some electrical or mechanical part is going bad. But worked just fine.

Had a terrific stay at the Best western Southside. The hotel provided a nice breakfast. It is conveniently located close to shopping, restaurants and the Navel Base. Right off of 295 Beltway. Just a hope over the bridge to Highway 95 or Rt. 1 to St. Augustine.

A one night stay almost went awry due to a 3rd party booking service, but the manager stepped up and straightened it out for us tired travelers. We have a tastefully decorated room that is obviously recently refurbished. The bed mattress is very comfortable. Everything is very clean! So glad we picked this hotel. Big thumbs up all around!

No parking, lazy staff, smelled of chemicals that'll knock ya down, the elevator was unsafe and smelled like burnt rubber we even felt the heat when we got off. The rooms smelled musty and the bathrooms were dirty.

I ended up here because the other two reservations my company made for me got messed up. It's kind of a weird location but close to the interstate. Parking can be difficult as it seems there's not a lot of parking spots available. Faith was very friendly when I checked in and took care of everything. Whoever checked me out was horrible. It's like I woke her up and she didn't know how to handle an Expedia checkout. Said she had to call and it would be awhile. I had to work early so never got to experience breakfast but hot coffee was available all the time. Housekeeping needs to work on its consistency as my room was never properly cleaned/stocked after I arrived each evening. All in all it was a pretty decent stay and I have no problems staying there again if I am back in the area.

We came because a large oak tree fell on our home, which resulted in a loss of power. Don't know if you've experienced the hot muggy air of low pressure brings but it makes for and uncomfortable day and night, even little Roxie was panting. We struggled to find and empty room that wasn't a dump and this Best Western was a lifesaver! It was pet friendly and the staff was very friendly and helpful. Especially since they were filled with hurricane refugees from Harvey and Irma. The rooms were clean and cool and the continental breakfast was better than most. They served the usual waffles, bread products that were complimented with sausage gravy, bacon, Canadian bacon , and pork sausages. I probably won't stay here unless it's an emergency since I live 5 miles away.

We recently stayed at the hotel for one night after a motocross event in west Jacksonville. Firstly, our hotel room smelled like body odor which was quite disconcerting. It seemed to be in the carpets. In addition, when eating a continental breakfast, we were misinformed of the time and instead of being given warning or time to finish gathering our meals, hotel staff started cleaning around us and we were rudely told that breakfast ended at 9:30 so we were out of luck. They all but snatched the plates from us. We felt generally unwelcome and will not be returning. The only plus was that the labor-day weekend rates were reasonable.

Very nice, stayed for two nights. Clean room,could use some updating but not bad. The bathroom was a really odd set up. If you weighed over 200lb your leg will be touching the toilet paper roll so it's not gonna roll. Had to take it off to get paper off. Very noisy guests across the hall slamming doors at 6am. Didn't take points off for that, I have had that happen in many hotels. Exceptional breakfast buffet, coffee all day and night. Courteous staff all around. Overall a very pleasant stay.

AVOID THIS HOTEL AT ALL COST. Horrible 2 nights, A/C units are so loud they are unusable. Housekeeping never once attended to my room, when reported was told to come down to front desk myself and pick up some clean towels.

Good location, multi-story hotel. Our 2nd visit there so that should tell you something. This time we found the beds uncomfortable and didn't get a good night's sleep. Breakfast had only cheese omelets and sausage plus all the ordinary stuff; would have preferred scrambled and bacon!

We really appreciate this hotel. Bobby and Faith have done above and beyond what one expects. This hotel is always clean and the staff is helpful. My job means living on the road and we always stay here.

While traveling to family for a few days we stopped half way to our destination at this property. I chose it for location, price and review. I was a bit skeptical because i am a hotel snob, I prefer new but didn't want to spend 150+ for a place t sleep for a few hours. This Best Western was recently remodeled and looked almost like new. The room was clean, new carpet, comfortable bed, USB ports in several areas, bathroom redone with clean new tile. Our room also had a small kitchen area with table and chairs, granite countertop, fridge and microwave. Well done Best Western!

Considering the reason for the stay was not a pleasant one, custody suit in family court, it was nice to know everything was taken care of. We had no worries for breakfast. There was always coffee, hot chocolate and water (with lemons or oranges) available. Rooms were comfy and the pool was refreshing to spend time with the kids.

Great for the price , odd location but close to everything! A/C should be in the living room area as well. Bathroom way to small! But it was very clean. It did the job for the night. Friendly staff. Good breakfast.

If you want to get sick due to mold and water damage in the rooms, come here. if you want to get treated like a 2nd class citizen, come here. if you want to be treated like a person in a habitable room; go somewhere else.

The Best Western Orange Park continues to provide nice accommodations to me on my frequent trips to Southwest Jacksonville, FL. Nice breakfast, pleasant staff, overall a positive experience. The hotel has recently completed a remodel and a refit, now being more modern and amenable. Good wifi. Not a deluxe neighborhood for a family vacation, but well located with nearby food and beverage options.

Not too bad for the price. The rooms were clean and comfortable. We had a minor problem that was fixed quickly. The breakfast is okay but a little disorganized. the desk crew were very nice and helpful. I would stay here again.

Is is a decent hotel with a continental breakfast that is okay. the desk service was good. The doors in the lobby need to be automatic. It is a pain to get things in and out of the room. The room was clean and decent. The bathroom is good.

We traveled from Texas to Jacksonville for a Martial Arts tournament and checked in July 14, 2017. We originally were placed in room 406. We quickly discovered that the toilet was not in working order, Sherman, the maintenance attendant promptly responded to our room where he attempted to resolve the issue. Sherman was gracious and professional, but ultimately unable to fix the problem. We asked for a room with a functional toilet and were offered a king suite with a fold out sofa sleeper. Given how late it was and the family being exhausted from the drive, we were willing to utilize a sleeper sofa until things could get worked out tomorrow. We packed up our room and moved to 411. The "suite" was horrible and smelled like old dirty socks. The sofa sleeper itself was in terrible shape. The mattress and support springs were completely worn out and about half of the springs were missing or ripped through the supporting fabric. We again sought a solution at which time were offered another double room. Not sure how they came up with another double room when they didn't have one just a half hour earlier. Again, we packed up and moved to 502. While trying to sleep we were awakened to the sound of two men trying to access our room. The latch banging against the door is what woke us up. My husband confronted the men at which time they said they had been checked into 502. It seemed odd that the two men had no luggage with them and only possessed room keys and a six pack of beer. Their keys worked to our room! Thank goodness we had the latch secured! Worst part of all this is the employee's response. With an attitude he said HE personally didn't do anything, and it must of been someone else. No apology, no concern for our safety, just refusal of accountability. Save your money, stay somewhere else where your family will be safe!

Upgraded nicely. Saw no damage. Shower was amazing as was the bed. Couldn't hear the couple next door to us or the street traffic. Check in was fast and easy. Staff friendly and courteous. Well worth the stay. Only thing that held back the 5th star was the parking. It's a little tight

The new renovations were sloppy - gaps in wall paper, repairs not done properly to walls before repainting, carpet not stretched enough, carpet tacks along wall edge stick up. But even with this I STILL RATE THIS PLACE good for the money. The showerhead had excellent pressure! I can never rinse my hair in a hotel without using the tub faucet, but this showered was great! Breakfast was HOT and GOOD, had variety and changed daily. Nice location, easy to get downtown Jax. But just outside enough to be able to get around and do things without having to drive in downtown. Close to great local eats, target, and fast food places. It does have a SMALL pool, not recommended for vacations where the hotel IS your destination. But we were in town for a convention so we wanted a good breakfast, shower and sleep - which we got, though the mattresses are not the best and make noise when you move around. I recommend paying a little more and getting the 2 room suite! The maid let us look at it and it would have been worth the extra.

The hotel was nice and decent. The room was clean and the A/C seemed to work fine. The bed slept nicely. The hallways were clean and the elevator was fine. There was ample parking. It was easy to get in and out and to get back to the interstate. There was also easy access to the base (less than 1.5 miles). There were 3 stray cats out back but they minded their own. The breakfast was great which included waffles. Price was affordable, especially compared to other hotels within the same area. I would stay again and I would recommend to others.

Staff seemed uninterested in guest, had to wait almost 10 min for somebody to check me in. Breakfast attendant was rude and the breakfast set up was mediocre. Probably won't be staying at this hotel again.

Stayed for two days, this was my second time in a weeks span staying here. First time no complaints except for broken ice machine. 2nd time still broken ice machine, and our frige was not in working condition. Overall great place for the price. Also may want to get breakfast at another place.

A good stop in a quiet area, convenient sited for the usual activities, restaurants etc. Hotel staff were very good and enjoyed a joke or two, they were helpful with their expertise in local knowledge, which was certainly very useful to a visitor from overseas. Breakfast, included in cost, was good and plentiful. Again the lady undertaking the duties was delightful.

Facility is up to date and comfortable. Enough channels on Tv. Very clean and bathroom up to date. Matresses good and enough pillows. Allowed me to check in early and that was a plus since I had gotten rained on and needed to change clothes.

Nothing unusual about the hotel if you expect good service at the front desk, a decent size room and a parking spot. The location is great to get on and off I295 easily and quickly. However, you WILL need a car to get anywhere to eat. There are plenty of food places within 15 minute drive. They have an outdoor pool but it's really only good for a few youngsters to play about in - if "lanes" are your thing then forget it. All in all a good hotel, friendly staff and one I would certainly use again.

We booked this hotel through Hotwire and were pleased by the reviews. We checked in late as it took 15 hours to get there and we had a little trouble finding it bc the google maps on the phone wasn't working. I probably would rate it very good if we had not received a room next to the ice machine. The hotel was full and somewhat noisy. The room itself was nice enough though the AC was also noisy and we didn't sleep well. This room had a single queen bed facing a large tv atop a chest of drawers. The sink was next to the chest and outside the bathroom with minimal counter space. There was also a desk in this room. A small room just behind the bedroom contained a sink, coffee maker, microwave and mini fridge and had just enough room for a table & 2 chairs. That's the first time I've seen a room set up like that and it was nice. The bathroom was unremarkable and had no counter space at all. The breakfast consisted of the usual pastries, waffles, eggs and sausage.

This hotel is ok but vertalen noisy. You van hear the neighbours all night. It's also to far from the beach andere downtown. It's almost 30 minutes by cab. Breakfast is ok and there is a pool when you need it.

Our Brother's, Funeral-The Hotel made sure we had a Room and conciderd my age of 80.We arrived late as we were unable to Leave Lakeland,Florida until 1700 hours and it is about a 200 mile trip. Thank You BW of Orange Park.

AC was not working, hotel was full, but it was not a real hot Florida night, so we survived! Staff did their best, but repairs had to wait until I departed. Over the years this has been a fine hotel. We all have our "off" days.

My partner and I took the weekend to ourself. We are Jacksonville residents and we needed time away from our daily stress factors (jobs, kids, obligations, etc) I had my heart set on a spa tub and this was the only room with one available that wasn't incredibly expensive! We traveled back and forth to St. Augustine for 2 days, and it was a great place to come back to to relax. Only downfall was the mattress. I'm sure it would be adequate for most, but I have back issues, so it wasn't super comfortable for myself. Loved our stay and our time to ourselves.

I travel all the time for work and I stay in and out of a lot of hotels. My check-in experience was okay the room was standard and clean . Breakfast could have been better a lot of dry food. * my check out experience was the best. I met a beautiful African American well spoken women. I believe her name was Tiffany or Stephanie. She had a line to the door of people who wanted to check out this morning . And she was so bubbly and friendly to each one of us did not show signs of frustration or anger . Gave her my business card. Very professional and gave the company a great look. Without her 3 stars!

Good place to stay; however, it is a lot of traffic right there where the hotel is at. The Base traffic is awful. I would recommend that animal control be called to remove the number of stray cats on the property. The hotel itself is clean, nice beds, clean bathroom, and a wonderful group of employees. It is also a good price.

We stayed here for one night on our way to Florida. Check-in was quick, and all the employees were friendly. The room was neat and clean, which is typical for this chain, with a microwave, refrigerator, TV, as well as a very comfortable and king size bed, with an adequate amount of pillows. Like most moderately priced places we stayed, the bathroom could have used some updating. In general, it filled our needs. The breakfast was typical for a chain such as this with not an abundance of selections; but enough to get one started first thing in the morning.

after a long day I got back to my room and discover that my room was not cleaned. My bed not made and no fresh towels. I called the front desk and all he said was we don't have housekeeper here at this time but u can get some towels.

It was in the right location for me, easy access. Even though there was ongoing renovations the lobby and dining area were set up nicely. The free breakfast was surprisingly very good, coffee was fantastic. The room met my needs, bed was comfortable and pillows were great. The wifi for my room was fast, a/c unit started making noise my last day but it did its job keep the room temperature comfortable. I would recommend this to others. Will stay here again on my next trip.

Very Happy with the clean room. The location was easy to get to and easy for where we needed to go. They staff where very helpful. Easy parking. We did not use the pool this time. We will use this hotel again when we visit family.

Diamond member upgraded to suite and it was very nice. Quiet overall. The morning meal was OK and needs cut fruit bowls for breakfast. All in all a very nice place to stay near NAS JAX. Parking is good. The mall is three miles away and has everything there.

Very friendly staff. Room was clean and comfortable. Was helped with directions. Breakfast was very good; appreciated the water with limes in the lobby, gave it a resort/spa feel. Very close to the base and would definitely stay there again.

My husband and I recently waited out Hurricane Matthew at the Best Western Southside Hotel and Suites in Jacksonville. The star quality leadership of its manager, Shawn Sadberry, created a comfortable and responsive atmosphere for guests and staff alike. She is clearly a model of courtesy, cooperation and competence. The entire staff (desk, housekeeping, food and maintenance) were on hand, doing their jobs but quick to step in when other staff members were already busy. Their teamwork was carried out naturally and with such good will. It is also a staff who clearly appreciate and respect their manager. The service was wonderful at all levels and what could have been an anxious and inconvenient experience was so comfortable and responsive. We will return to this hotel. Best Western is fortunate to receive the services of Shawn Sadberry and her staff---and so were we! Jeanne N

Sometimes Best Western can be good, sometimes not so much. This one is Great! Right off of I-295 and just a short drive to St. Augustine. Property looks newer and is very clean and well maintained. Courteous staff and free breakfast. A "real" breakfast with sausage, corned beef hash, cheese omelets and more. Not the usual corn flakes and stale rolls other chains offer. Comfy beds with lots of pillows. I would definitely stay again.

Recently remodeled and absolutely friendly environment! I highly recommend this location as it is conveniently located with easy access to Jacksonville, Florida. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. They ensured we had an easy access room for my 84 year old mother. The room was very spacious with a small kitchen nook. Very nice. Beds were comfortable and all spaces were clean.

This was our 31st anniversary. We don't like to travel far any nire and it's a two hour trip for us. That's my driving limit. It's worth it to get away for a few days and the people here are so happy and friendly, it makes it all worth while. Since this hotel became the Best Western it has improved immensely. We will be coming back every year now.

This was another in a series of trips to JAX and north FL for business. Has a series of appointments, and the central location of the hotel with access to varied interstate connnections was ideal. We had to drive across town, twice, before leaving on Monday and were able to navigate around much of the rush hour traffic with this hotel's proximity to I - 295.

When I first arrived to the hotel after hours of driving, the last thing I want to do is settle for a room that cannot be dealt with. The customer rep Brittany, was dealing with allergies AND was an off shift personnel of the hotel during my stay. My first room that I was introduced to, had a leaking refrigerator. She did not miss a beat, and moved me to another room without attitude or delay. In my next room, the rooms AC refused to come on. With my service dog being a northern breed, I needed something more accommodating to his needs, and mine. (77 degrees in a room to sleep is NOT comfortable). I checked the AC plug and still couldn't get the AC to cut on, only to ask Miss Brittany to help yet again, to try to fix the plug so my stay can be more comforting. She also could not get the AC on. And yet again, gave no excuse, no fault thrown, and not only moved me, but upgraded me with no charge to me for the hullaboo that I had to endure as soon as I checked in. Handled PERFECTLY!! As a person that does not throw a big stink over things such as this in colder climates, and usually just keeps my mouth shut for the money I am paying, I felt NO GUILT, NO ATTITUDE back at my defense towards the reps, spoken under my breath. I WILL be staying at this particular hotel again, and I recommend it to any traveler. Well done BEST WESTERN ORANGE PARK!!!!!!!!!

This hotel was very nice. We stayed only one night but it was one of the best stays in a hotel we have ever had. We got upgraded to a suite which made it even better, but for a short stay it was unnecessary. Not complaining, but it could have been left for someone who may have needed it more. Very nice eating area for the complementary breakfast as well. The only downside was the bathroom was so tiny and when we were in the hallways it felt like a sauna.

This is the closest Hotel to NAS Jacksonville that I could find that was clean and had good rates. it is close to Everything you need. Short drive to everywhere. The staff was excellent. I stayed 16 day and everyday when I returned my room was clean and all my belongings were right where I left them. I would recommend this Best western to anyone who needs to be close to NAS ( Navel Air Station).

My husband and I got married on NYE. We arrived here late at night and stayed for only a night but it was VERY pleasant. The breakfast was amazing. The room was very clean and comfortable. We are planning to stay again, but this time for a bit longer.!

Hotel is in a great location for busy at NAS Jacksonville. Five minutes from the gate with easy access. Breakfast is good and complete. This breakfast would cost you over $20.00 at a restaurant in town. Not much of a gym, but it you are working on base just use the gyms on base.

Many trips to JAX over the past few years, many staying at this hotel. Always a pleasure, nice staff, quality breakfast , good coffee, etc... JAX becoming more and more crowded with the passage of years, and this hotel has a nice location removed from all the traffic, but still close to town, the base, etc.

If you are looking for a nice, clean place for a reasonable price close to the Naval base, this is it. Beds were comfortable. Place was clean. Staff friendly. Breakfast was adequate. We had come here to visit son on the base. This is within just about 5 or 10 minute drive and almost a straight shot. Staff was helpful to give information about local places to visit and directions.

The hotel is an average, basic hotel & it is kept pretty clean. The beds are comfortable. The location is good if you have a car (right off 295 and next to the Navy base), but not if you need to walk anywhere. It's a great place to stay though mainly because of the customer service. We were there for two weeks with a toddler, both of us working, so we had some extra needs/requests. Anytime we needed anything, Bobby at the front desk went above and beyond to help us. Bernadette, who does the breakfast in the morning, was also such a sweetheart. She takes great pride in making sure the dining area is clean (I even saw her cleaning the light fixtures and picture frames after breakfast one day).

I felt totally safe and well taken care of. The staff is awesome. Pool was clean, breakfast is outstanding and the over experience was just totally great. Very well located to highways, bases and my son's home. Very convenient to get in and out of as well.

Great hotel. Friendly staff, rooms and property was very clean. Not too far from the Jax beaches and restaurant were located nearby. Also near the navy base for sight seeing. Casino also near the area for entertainment purposes.

Good hotel in Jacksonville, convenient to expressway, shopping, restaurants. Choice for breakfast was much better than what we normally expect. Room was clean and beds comfortable. It was a good choice for our overnight stay.

I opted to book this hotel (July 2-7) based on the location and price since we only needed a place to crash while visiting family in Orange Park. Upon entering the front door, my kids immediately noticed the smell and said that it smells like stinky feet! As with some other reviews, the A/C was not working when we got to our room but the staff was very responsive and had maintenance on it within 5 minutes - very good! Maybe it's because I told her that I'll move to another hotel if they can't fix it. The bad thing about this though is that they should be checking this BEFORE they let the guests in the rooms. This also made the smell of the room more noticeable as it was warn and humid in the room when we first got there. Another bad thing about this property is that the walls are very thin and hardly provide any sound insulation of any sort. It was a busy 4th of July week when we stayed and there were a lot of people walking down the hallways at night and you can hear them loud and clear as if there were no walls at all! I even heard the TV from the adjacent room one night when I couldn't sleep. I thought I had a good deal when I booked this hotel but after staying there, I think it's overpriced for what it had to offer. We also did not try the free breakfast as it was always crowded so I can't comment on the food.

Looooved this place! Spacious standard room & clean????????. Will be staying in BW hotels every time I travel. Breakfast was amazing as well!! Anything you want, they had it. The ladies at the front desk were so nice to us, even though we were sooooo late to check-in: due to driving 6 hours from Alabama from visiting families. It was such a great stay. I recommend this place for everyone. Especially families traveling on a budget ??

There we're many complications with my 3rd party booking site and they were VERY helpful in getting it worked out. Angel at the front desk was a super kind and helpful agent. The rooms were very clean and check in/out was very easy. I would definitely come back. Great stay (:

great price to stay for rate and nice breakfast staff ok the ac did not work well it was very hot . but that is a minor problem they can correct and hotel will be super. its sad they want you to type 200 words to do a review. the staff also can work on stereotyping individuals. but this time was better than the last after the name change

Overall hotel staff was very helpful and friendly. Facilities need to be updated. Had issues with toilet running, air conditioner not working and lack of hot water. Feel that hotel is overpriced considering facilities needing to be updated.

This hotel has been updating common areas using granite and Quartz. The transitions are steep and low troughs at the elevators threshold. Bath rooms are converted to handicap accessible. There were no grab bars in the no threshold showers..odd. The room I was in was nice, no smells or cover scents which was great. Breakfast was adiquit. Eating area very nice and open but also busy exit/ entry. Outside Noise level were low its location is isolated. Overall a good place for the price.

The weather was not entirely cooperative - it was close to 98 degrees one or both days - but the AC worked like a charm and the staff at the Orange Park Best Western were very helpful... quiet room, nice breakfast, good internet.

Room was very nice for the price. Roomy, and comfortable. Only negative was at check out , I was told the clerk would email me my receipt, didn't happen. This is convenient to Orange Park and NAS Jacksonville, Fl. Right off of I-295 and US-17 , but you don't get the road noise like at some hotels close to major roads.

Breakfast could have been better. waffles were sticking and no non-stick spray was provided. The Bathroom needed updating badly, wall paper was pealing. Internet was poor to non-existence at times. Location was not bad, easy access to freeways.

One of the best hotels I have ever stayed at. The front desk receptionists are hands down the most friendly and accommodating people I have ever encountered. If you ever have the pleasure to stay here do not pass it up. Bobby, Margo, and Cal who work at the front desk are amazing. I even have had the chance to speak with the manager Mrs. Shawn a few times and she is the kindest manager I have met, she will help you out with anything you could possibly need. 10/10

This hotel is easy to get to. The property is well maintained and the hotel is clean. The staff was professional and polite. Noting to complain about at this hotel. The breakfast was adequate but not great.

Reported broken shower and TV and during 3 night stay neither was repaired. The handle controlling the shower was broken and I reported it but it was never repaired. The TV remote did not work and we could only get one channel. This was finally repaired. I have always stayed at this hotel for convenience when taking care of my parents. I will find another place for future visits.

Very clean room, friendly, helpful staff in every area, best brewed coffee always available in the lobby, good hot breakfast, easy in and out access, close to where I needed to be and close to everything I might need for this trip. I have stayed here before and would stay here again.

My husband and I were coming to Jacksonville to visit relatives. My husband is a cook so we looked for lodging with a kitchen. All of the places we usually stay in were booked. We ended up making reservations at an Extended Stay America. After arriving and seeing the place, we asked for our money back. It was not up to the standards we were use to. They agreed to refund us our money, but we were left with no place to stay. We went to my relative home in Orange Park and she suggested this Best Western. I had tried earlier and it was booked. We drove to the hotel and was told they had no space. The gentleman at the front desk (Bobby) called several hotels in Jacksonville trying to find us a room. There were no room available. We thanked him for his efforts and were getting ready to leave when he called us back. As he was helping us, a cancellation came in. We were able to secure a room for the two nights. When we entered the room, we were very pleased. The room was very spacious. It had a separate living area from the bedroom. It was modern and clean. I cannot compliment the space enough and I certainly cannot say enough positive things about Bobby. I highly recommend this hotel and will definitely stay there again!

I was traveling with a senior group from Georgia. This hotel would not have been my choice. How surprise I was with the quality of the breakfast food, the extremely clean room, comfortable mattress, the friendly staff from the front desk to the cleaning staff. It's location is another plus. The environment around the hotel was very quiet. I did not go to the pool area or the exercise room. Definitely would recommend this hotel to others.

Except for the bathroom, this rating would have been much higher. We reserved a 2-room suite for three days. Everyone we dealt with at the hotel was pleasant and professional. The living room was large, with two sofa-sleepers. Extra sheets and blankets were in the cabinet drawers for the sofa-sleepers. The bedroom had two queen beds. They were comfortable, with four pillows on each bed. Keep in mind, though, that if you close the door to the bedroom, it shuts off the air conditioning to the living room. The bathroom, though, looked like it was designed by an idiot and installed by Wilt Chamberlain. The sink design is convex, putting you away from the sink, and increasing the chance of splatter. Even worse, the sink was mounted about four feet off the ground. This is great for tall basketball players, but bad for short women or children. You need to lower it or include a step-stool. The tub/shower lacked grab bars. The water is extremely soft and slippery and grab bars could eliminate an accident. Overall, this is a nice hotel. Improving the bathroom would make it even better.

The staff here is wonderful! Very helpful and kind. However, they are a little aloof at what is going on here. Trespassers in at the pool, the laundry area, breakfast..... either they don't care or really not paying attention. Other than that, the rooms are clean and comfortable. Loud at nights, but it is what it is. A hotel.

Checked into my Sweet suite at Best Western, Orange Park. Turns out I've stayed here before. Didn't realize this until i recognized the location. I was here in june of 2014. I don't travel that much but I waa very glad to see that i book this hotel again. Quiet rooms even though it is right off the main roads.

We were very happy with this motel. Clean, comfortable and nice breakfast. Would stay there again. The staff was very helpful. We woke up rested and ready for our day ahead. Would recommend it highly.

everything was good. just thought the room was a little small and over priced. The vending area was a little hard to find. breakfast was okay. nothing to jump up and down about. My wife and I were in town for a overnight stay. The location was just a little out of the way. Bed was very comfortable, we slept great. and the A/C was kicking.

The overall was good, but, however the lighting in bathroom was very poor. the breakfast sauasge was not the usual good tasting meat, not 100% pure meat. The sausage meat had yellow blotches (fillers I think). Maybe someone is cutting cost of meat.

Staff was friendly and hotel was clean and updated. Will stay at this location again when traveling to the Jacksonville Equestrian Center. Rooms were fresh and had all the amenities needed for a pleasant stay

Not up to BWs normal super standards. Staff nonchalant, parking not great. Elevator very slow. Luggage carts not available. Plenty of good restaurants not too far. We ate at Sam's St. Johns Seafood and it was great, good food and service !

We stayed in one of the 2 room suites and the value was excellent. We have a fun-filled day and the bed was perfect and so comfortable!!! I would recommend it. They also had a full breakfast the next morning with lots of options which is great when you have picky eaters.

Three nights at the hotel. Dandy new coffee machine. Quiet nights despite the dozens of retired vacationers passing through on two of the nights. People in those groups commented on the quality of the breakfast, and the overall quiet of the hotel. Thus the title of this review.......

The breakfast is lousy...minimal selections. Room television is flat screen but all channels broadcast in scruffy low-definition....and due to the hotel budget will not go HDTV until late 2016 or 2017...according to their front desk. Room lighting is awful....subway white lights. Noise...hotel sits adjacent to I-285 with truck/highway noise all night...windows have poor sound insulation. Better options a 1/2 mile away away from highway and closer to many restaurants. This hotel is being run on a shoestring budget and it feels that way. Stay away!

Staff is really great, helpful and extremely nice. Had a wonderful time for our Grand Daughter's wedding a very nice two day stay. They even found another room for family for Saturday night at the last minute and they helped make the wedding even better with there help.

Having booked a room then to be upgraded because of my patience whilst she was dealing with another potential customer on the phone was unexpected. I ended up with a room way above and beyond my expectations. Thank you very much Laramie. She has a delightful and charming personality, every hotel should have one !!!! Just hope you take care of her as I believe she is an asset to your hotel. But all staff were welcoming and professional. Just book it, the hotel does deserve its good reviews.

By far the best hotel experience i've had clean, staff nice and professional and most of all it was a good bang for your buck. The hot tub was unbelievable and the room was so clean i am definitely staying again.

I visit Orange Park often and I love staying at this hotel! Great Staff, Clean Rooms, Comfortable Beds, Awesome Breakfast, Overall great experience. Located close to NAS and Orange park mall, tons of dining locations and activities nearby. Laramie Cundiff is very professional and will ensure your trip is memorable.

We could not have had a better hotel or staff to help us with whatever questions we had. We always feel welcome there. The employees at the front desk do an outstanding job in assisting us with all our questions. The breakfast supervisor does a great job, also. It is a very clean hotel and the beds are comfortable. We always look forward to staying there.

This hotel is a keeper. The rooms are huge, the beds are very comfortable, and the breakfast was perfect. We are already booked for the Georgia/Florida game. The front desk and all the staff were friendly and informative.

This hotel is awesome! The breakfast is good, the employees are friendly and professional and the hotel is clean. The room was spacious. I liked the area - near plenty of restaurants, casual and fast food. I enjoyed my stay and if I return to the area, I will be back in the area.

Very nice, a heated pool would have been nice for the small size the pool is. Internet is hit or miss, not a very strong connection in some rooms. Not sure if they just shut it off at a certain hour. But I just logged back on using the meeting rooms connection using the same password. I would stay here again,

This type of accommodation was so much better for us than a regular room--just a little more room makes so much difference. With a separate little living area we could each pursue our own relaxing activity without keeping the other awake. I could read without my husbands TV program interfering.

We rushed down to JAX through the blizzard of 2016 and were grateful to find a room at the BW in SW JAX. Close to friends and family and business matters. Decent breakfast, good coffee, nice people at the hotel.

We have stayed at this hotel two previous times, but this was the best time. It was obvious that improvements have been made in the last two years. The breakfast area and the eating area has been changed and improved. The staff is very courteous and friendly. The Breakfast area lady (Sunni) does a great job keeping the food items supplied and the area clean. She is constantly cleaning and checking on the area. The Check-in process went quickly and Laramie has a very friendly staff that makes you feel welcome and at home while on the road. I would definitely stay at this hotel again when going through the Jacksonville area.

Came into town to visit my son. This particular hotel was close to the Navy base and some attractions. I stay at Best Western quite a bit because they usually have a hotel wherever I go and breakfast is included. The facilities were clean and orderly. You got to let the water run a while before it gets hot. All in all, it's a nice quiet place at a good price.

The hotel is great. The room was clean and everything was brand new. However, the room with only one queen bed was very small and the only sink we had was next to the bed... I had a problem with the password for the internet.

We booked this hotel as it was a good stopping point on our way further south. The exterior and lobby looked like it had been recently updated and had a trendy look. We did not arrive until around 11pm and we were all exhausted. It was a spacious suite. It had two sofa beds on the main living area, but only one could be open since they overlapped space. There is only one air unit in the bedroom that also cooled the living area. So it was really cold in the bedroom and warm in the living area. Speaking of air, the unit was so loud it was difficult to sleep. In the morning I was the first of our party to take a shower. NO HOT WATER! I had to turn the shower off twice because of the chill. I mentioned this upon check-out and the lady took note of it as if it was a surprise. Breakfast was bland, but that is expected. If the water temperature was better and the air conditioner noise was fixed, I would stay again. Overall rating = average.

Have stayed at this hotel a number of times over the years, and with recent remodeling and continuing efforts with breakfast, it is a predictable and fair value. Quiet, comfortable. Not the very nicest hotel on the planet, but a safe and practical option for me and my family.

Took shower right after wife and ran out of hot water. This looks to be a retrofit hotel and things are not to the level of quality that I was expecting for Plus property. Uneven floor at front door and elevator. Manual door at entrance made it difficult negotiating with luggage.

This was a great place to stay. It is a nice peaceful location. The room was very nice and comfortable and it was close to where we were going. The staff was great and helpful. There is a very good breakfast to start your day off it you get up early enough to enjoy it.

The staff was so friendly and made you feel at home. We arrived early from an early morning flight and they let us check in without charging us extra. Everyone we encountered were very caring. Our air conditioner stopped working during the night and they were there to fix it almost before I hung up the phone. Wonderful stay!

We planned this trip back in June of this year, thinking it would be exciting to ride a paddle boat down the St johns River and have a lunch aboard. The boat ride was good for the short distance we were on the boat and the crew went out of their way to make everyone happy on the ride.

When we we checked in with a huge wedding last weekend,we were greeted by a young lady by the name of Amber. She was very friendly had a great smile and went out of her way to make us feel comfortable. As she was checking us in she did mention that she was brand new and to please bear with her as she was still learning. She did great, got us into our room and even called us to ask if our room was okay. She took the time to make sure we were okay. VERY nice touch feom her. You can tell that she really has the customer service and that she likes her job. HARD TO FIND that these days. We highly recommend this hotel and the staff!!!

My wife and I were in town for a wedding and we had seen a special on trip advisor for this hotel and decided to give a it a try. Staff was very helpful and accommodating (we needed early check in) and the room was clean and comfortable. We did not have the breakfast.

This location was fantastic. An error from Priceline caused my bride to be's room and 3 day booking to new be scheduled, during Florida/Georgia weekend (one of the busiest days of the year in Jacksonville.) Laramie Cundiff, the front office manager went above and beyond to fix the booking, make the entire situation better, and really treated my now wife amazingly. She truly saved the day and made my wife's weekend a lot less stressful. Great staff. The breakfast was incredible too.

Just needed a place to stay for the night, stopped here and service was great from arrival to departure! Clean and comfortable room for the price, free wifi and the breakfast was nice... also had a really nice lobby with a lounge area and tv.

Closest to the Naval Air Station in Jax, as well as I-295, this is THE place to stay if you're visiting anyone living at or near NAS. Like the Navy personnel is caters to, it's always at the top of it's game in terms of cleanliness, courtesy and quality of the facilities. A great value, especially if you qualify for any of the available special rates.

I thought I had reservations at the Navy Gateway but I messed up so I called the Best Western nearby and they were very accommodating and even giving me an up grade to a jacuzzi suite. We were visiting our son stationed at the nearby Navy base and our anniversary! The staff was wonderful. A Special thank you to Deidra and Lamara. The coffee in lobby- great!

The staff was very nice, and the room was clean, but there a pet/musty smell to the room. I asked the front desk if they allowed pets, and they said no pets were allowed. Not sure why it smelled that way.

We stay here whenever we have to be in Jax for business. Clean hotel, staff is efficient and helpful, room and bed are comfortable. Breakfast is typical for a BW. There is a laundry room and the desk has quarters. The price is good for the area.

I stayed here last minute after the previous sleeping arrangements I had fell through around midnight. They took me in right away with a reasonable rate and I was in my room by 12:30am! The front desk was great, the room was clean and the breakfast in the morning had a big selection and was very tasty!

No surprises, fair price, very friendly staff. Nice place, real nice, would stay there again , and again. Close to a couple primary highways .... but still a largely quiet hotel. And an attractive hotel

We recently returned from a 4-day stay in Jacksonville, FL at the Best Western Southside. On a scale of 1 to 10, I'd have to go with a 15. Probably the first motel I've ever stayed at that there's not a thing I'd change. Staff is very friendly and professional, free breakfast is exceptional and the location is convenient to everything. We'd definitely stay there again, plus recommend to all our friends This was just a plain comfy, clean, just like home motel....with kitchette table/chairs, microwave, mini fridge and sink.

Very pleasant experience. A very clean and well maintain facility convenient to where my family wished to go. The inn is quite close to the interstate, yet very quiet. Very helpful and courteous staff. Good value for my money. I highly recommend this hotel.

My daughter had a bag of clothes in the bathroom that were while we were away with family. Talked to the front desk and they wouldn't do anything about the missing bag of clothes. Also had a plugged toilet. Said they couldn't help with that either. Night help at the desk said this.. Will def be getting ahold of someone higher up about this issue.

Came to Jacksonville for a visit with family and chose this specific hotel because they are non-smoking and very convenient to I-295. Upon arrival we were greeted by the check-in lady with a smile and a welcome. After we got to our room and unloaded our luggage from the roller cart the lady that checked us in called and asked if we were satisfied with our room or needed anything. She always greeted us when we left and came back. The room was clean and decorated nicely. They have done some remodeling and it looks nice inside and outside. The breakfast is EXCELLENT! A variety to items to choose from so whether you want hot or cold it is available. The lady that provided breakfast was attention to detail so everything was clean and had utensils and was delicious. Outside the hotel is clean (no cigarette butts laying on ground) and the lobby is beautiful. Plenty of seating available for breakfast. One thing I really liked was there was a BIG pitcher of ice water with lemon up close to the check-in counter that was available all the time with plenty of cups.

Yes The Staff I Came In Contact With Were Friendly & Helpful. But The Hotel Itself Was Ok At Best. Other Than The Staff, My Experience Was Not Positive. The A/C Was Noisy, Room Had An Overall Dated & Used Feeling. Not Close Enough To Anything To Walk To. Sign Say's Updated Rooms---------------Not. With Tax I Paid $83 Per Night. Shop Around, You Can Get A Nicer Place.- Lesson Learned

I spend three nights with a senior group of 54 . The stay was very good . Rooms were clean , the staff was so friendly and Helpful. Breakfast each day was tasty Food area always very clean . Help tried To care for all our needs. Only thing that kept me from giving a five was all phone services was out in rooms and had difficults with turning of tv or finding chanels due to no guide on or of tv. Would stay again if in area.
