Remarkable room and soft bed. The staff were amazing and welcoming especially Jess who does just about every role but I engaged with mostly in the restaurant at night who went above and beyond with her service even down to remembering what I drank and that I liked a plastic straw. The service I seen to the worker in the mines was amazing having little lunch packs ready for the next day for them to collect was awesome. Overall I would highly recommend staying here. Food was also amazing so well done to the chefs
Whilst our room was spacious and clean, it was not serviced on the second day of our stay. It was very disappointing to return at 4pm that afternoon, after spending 9 hours at the hospital whilst my elderly father underwent surgery, to unmade beds and wet towels. The front desk staff were very apologetic and helpful in providing clean towels, however it was frustrating that it was necessary for me to have to go to them after such a long and draining day.
Orange is such a beautiful city. We arrived on a very cold day in July at Best Western Plus Ambassador Orange. First Impressions - this is a very modern, well maintained and lovely motel and is a very large motel. On arrival at reception the welcome from staff was ok, but could have been better. I believe the welcome given to guest is a reflection of the accommodation and it makes guest feel at home and comfortable. The room is very spacious with lots of room. The room is very lovely and well appointed. There is a large tv, and selection of tea, coffee, biscuits and milk. There is lots of parking and plenty of space. Shower and bathroom very clean and modern. We had dinner in the motels small restaurant. The meals were nice but quite overpriced for what we got. The young girl managing the restaurant on the evening of 28th July did an excellent job. The motel is a very short drive into the CBD so close to food and shopping. I would recommend this motel as the rooms are lovely.
Room very clean & comfortable, great breakfast, staff very helpful & friendly, good value for money. Easy parking, outside of room. Stay there whenever I'm in Orange, I usually book in advance as they get booked out quickly. Highly recommend
Staff were very friendly and welcoming. The reception staff were professional. The room was relatively clean and tidy but could have been cleaner. It was quite dusty. The room was spacious. Location was quiet with the rooms being at the back of the property.
I had booked this place the night before we were going, so I didn't have much left to choose from when trying to find a reasonable priceiced place for the might. LOCATION about a 5-minute drive from the centre of town, it's on the main road driving into Orange. You wouldn't be able to walk to town. It was suitable for what we needed ROOM the room was large with a double bed and a single bed for our son. The bathroom was a little run down, but it did the job for a shower. No bathtub. Small table and chairs. It has a mini bar which I didn't expect. The AC was a little noisy when on heater. OVERALL I found that most places in Irange were a bit expensive for accommodation. They have breakfast available, we didnt have it. Free parking.
Friendly professional and very clean presentation to detail from all staff .I have always enjoyed staying in motels where I am made to be made welcome
Super friendly and accommodating staff Wifi was great The rooms do need an upgrade though Carpets were stained and quite tired looking Shower body wash container was empty upon arrival
Average and overpriced for what it offers. The room didn't have complementary water bottles and Milk sachet to make tea and coffee. The bed was very average and moving around when one seats on it. The sleep was very uncomfortable. Also the breakfast served only had basic cereals and bread to qualify for a proper continental spread.
Staff are nice enough. Room was dirty visible crumbs, dust and hair in the bed, long black hairs on the shower wall a fair few as well. Room smelt like the toilet had just been used. I have stayed here for work a few times and it has always been nice so this must have just been a bad day.
Our group of 14 Seniors were very impressed with every aspect of their overnight stay at this accommodation. We have always chosen to stay here with our groups as the rooms are spacious & clean & the beds are very comfortable. Dinner & breakfast is delicious & the staff are always friendly & helpful.
Good service, it was Clean & bed was very comfortable, bathroom needs updating but clean & functional. Food was excellent & friendly staff :) convenient to park outside the room, will continue to stay there :) well located & close to town centre.
we stayed 4 nights and on 2 of the 4 nights the room was not cleaned. The sink was dirty, the shower had soap left from the last customer left in the shower, the beds were not made properly, and one not at all. No fresh towels. No body wash in the shower. we complained to the reception staff who said it would be fixed, but next day the same. The manager was unaware, and offered a free meal, and made sure our room was cleaned on the last night
We had a great stay here and cant wait to return! Comfortable beds, large rooms, water pressure was amazing. Staff are so lovely. WiFi included and TV's easy to navigate and connect to. We stayed in a family room which had the large bed in the living area and 3 single beds in a separate room with a sliding door. The kids loved having their own room and with the layout of the 3 single beds it also gave them their own little space as well.
Large, spacious rooms that are clean with good amenities. Staff were friendly and thoughtful and provided excellent service for our business function as well as the accommodation. The food was wonderful! Thank you most of all Chef and Faith!
The room is great. Very big and warm, lots of space for multiple people. Single bed moves a bit. The hot breakfast was not nice and it was dry and no veggie option. The bathroom was very cold but clean
Comfy beds, very space rooms. Bathrooms a bit tired and could do with a make over but rooms nicely furnished and lots of extras including microwave and small mini bar. Location is about 1.5k from Orange CBD so not as convenient if you want to walk into town, particularly for older people.
Both the facilities and the staff were excellent - I would stay there again without hesitation. Fantastic service, room was large, clean and furnishing were new. Breakfast and dinner in the restaurant were both delicious and reasonably priced.
Great stuff very friendly and knowledgeable and great service rooms are very clean have everything you need great hot water with good pressure will be staying there again for future country business trips
Located close to town. The rooms are very clean and comfortable and spacious which has a minibar's. The have a restaurant and also provide room service too. Staff are very helpful and service definitely was amazing. Definitely recommend and I will be staying during my next visit into town.
Staff were very nice and tried to go out of their way to accommodate us but the room was a disappointment.....leaking shower and the water was leaking onto the carpet and the air con was totally useless....we were freezing in the room.
The staff is super friendly and nice... great rooms. The dinner was delicious! The only inconvenience is having a room at the upper level and there is not lift available, so you have to carry all your luggage by yourself.
Lovely welcome to the Motel and the room was spacious and very comfortable Only comment I would make - although not a negative - is that given the freezing temperature it would have been nice to have had an electric blanket on the bed and a heater in the large, cold bathroom. I had a room at the rear of the Motel which was lovely and quiet Thank you
The staff are very lovely and kind. Would recommend this place to anyone staying in orange. If you're wanting a nice, cozy and quiet place to stay where you can feel secure and safe, Best western plus ambassador is the place to go.
Very nice accommodation. Rooms are clean, bed comfy with blankets available. I really like having the table in room to eat as an option. I would definitely return again. The area is quiet and close to shops.
Was just ok. Linen and towels were clean. Bathroom, carpets and curtains a little tired. Family room was very spacious and comfortable-ish with little kitchenette. Sink and microwave handy but could have done with some cutlery and crockery beyond the cup and spoons,to be be more useful. Pool was nice and very clean. Would have been great at a reasonable cost but actually was eye wateringly expensive.
Tanya went above and beyond with effortless ease to turn, what could have been a traumatic experience ( no where to spend the night) into a memorable and fabulous experience - dinner and a spa. The hockey tournament meant noise and excitement
We were thankful for a room at late notice when our plans changed. The lady on reception was lovely and even mentioned if I joined Best Western I could get a discount on the room price. The room we were in, room 15, was a great size and the bathroom was nice and big. The beds were comfortable. However the air conditioner did not work well and was noisy and there was a lightbulb missing in the room above the main bed. The man came to check the air conditioner and sorted out the problem with the heating but when asked about the noise said it should settle down once it had run for awhile. It did not. So we ended up turning it off as we went to bed.
Carpet was terrible, lounge ripped extensively and air conditioning was well due for replacement. The air conditioning unit sounded like a jackhammer. When staff were advised they we're argumentative rather than accepting of the information about the accommodation. For the price, we were very dissatisfied.
A recent stay at Best Western Ambassador in Orange NSW was a unique experience. Being a large tour group, the numbers alone often create issues for service providers. However, our recent Bathurst tour group had an amazing experience at the Ambassador. Of note was the front of house operation where it was obvious the staff skill sets and management leadership made the difference. We will return.
Excellent motel with all facilities. Really enjoyed our stay. The location was also too good, nearby shops . Staff was very good. Only concern was heater was too slow and weather was too cold so it took time to heat the room. Would definitely go again!
The only rooms available were a suite or a family room. The suite was very spacious and nice. The shower however took a long time to heat up with not much power We went to the restaurant for dinner. Our choices of food was not good. There was only one lady serving as well as being on reception. Experience would have been better eating elsewhere.
A few minutes out of town. Large rooms that are well set out and furnished. Very comfortable bed. Good restaurant with plenty of options as main meals or simpler offerings. Great staff. Well worth staying here.
Allocation - of room upon request something quiet. Offered and included personal visit to room. Very Comfortable Dining - Explanation of menu matched up to the presentation - enjoyable Recommendation of places to visit --- especially shopping for my wife, we personally like to shop in Country Towns whilst visiting We will return and recommend Best Western Orange
Great room decor, luxurious bedding, excellent staff and service, delicious food with ample parking, well located close to Orange cbd without any street noise. This is definitely my choice place stay and unwind in the king spa room
Well situated. Very comfortable and clean. Friendly staff . Room as advertised and a good size. Bookingwsc each and communications were sufficient . The additional blankets were appreciated. The room had an extra bed great for a 3 Rd person or child
A very nice place to stay very roomy for 5 people…Only things were missing were plates & cutlery as we had a kitchenette we had to purchase them. The tv's could have been bigger. The Ambassador is a nice place to stay not too far out of town it was an enjoyable walk back from the City centre…
Spacious, spotless motel with very friendly staff. The dining room was better than expected. A limited menu but everything was very tasty and beautifully cooked. We were upgraded from Deluxe to Family room- our teenager loved the separate bedroom and second tv. Beds and linen seemed new. Good shower pressure. Would stay again. Is a little further from town centre than we would typically walk to and from but we found a cafe within a 10 min walk for breakfast.
For nearly $300 per night the stay was disappointing. Towels were torn, ragged and worn out. The carpet had stains and toilet seat was a cheap and flimsy replacement one. For the cost I expected more.
Helpful reception lady. She was friendly and nothing was a drama. Rooms were clean and tidy. Easy parking and easy to find rooms were a good size and was peaceful. Only thing I would recommend but it's for all motels are bigger bins
We stayed here for 2 nights and thoroughly enjoyed it. The room was on the ground floor as requested. It was spacious and spotlessly clean. Because of a special deal when booking, we were entitled to free breakfast. We had assumed that this would be in the onsite restaurant. However, on arrival, we were told that the restaurant was not opening in the mornings due to staffing issues. As a result we were served breakfast in the room which was quite disappointing.
This hotel was fantastic from the outset. Tanya at Reception was a delight at check in and provided all the necessary info with a welcome side serving of good humour. The internet here is awesome. I regularly travel for work and have never come across a hotel with internet that can handle high quality zoom calls during peak times when the hotel is full. They've clearly made a big investment in getting this right. The hotel was busy but no noise from neighbouring rooms and having a great restaurant on site is really handy after working all day. The room was spacious with a couple of different table/desk options to set up the laptop. The managers Renee and Ben are very welcoming and do a brilliant job. Their passion for their profession clearly reflects throughout their entire team. I often stay at Best Western hotels and this one was fantastic - will definitely be back next time I'm in Orange.
Stayed here recently for four nights. Rooms are large, comfortable beds and nice furnishings. The staff are very friendly. The bathrooms are looking a little dated and the carpet had a number of stains.
Clean and tidy hotel, staff lovely and friendly. over priced for what it is, we moved up the road the next evening paid half the price, had all the same amenities, room size, beds and cleanliness, etc 50% less cost. Cheaper options just as good in the area.
The room was comfortable and convenient for our family of five. A few issues with the room, sofa looked like it needs to be replaced, there was a hole in the wall in the back room. It wasn't until we moved the beds together that we noticed the hole. The cabinet for the fridge was chipped off on the bottom corner - issues where any one could be blamed for, if not fixed immediately. We paid $379 for one night over the phone, whilst on the net it was $336. Was it worth the money we paid, not really! Would we stay there again, if we don't have any other choice then yes!
Awesome people best place to stay in orange, I would recommend it to anybody that I have spoken to. Lovely food lovely receptionists The rooms were just beautiful and very spacious awesome stay can't wait to come back
Firstly we were surprised at the state of the stained carpet and grimy bathroom tiles. It has been a long time since they received a thorough clean. This presentation represented the tired outlook of the motel and the people who worked at it, especially the woman on reception on Sunday morning. On the Friday night our air conditioner wouldn't work even after three visits to the reception whose instructions on using the remote were useless. It was only when a handyman delivered our ordered food that he agreed the remote wasn't working properly and provided a small portable heater. On our second day, we returned to our room after an outing to find the door wouldn't open which necessitated another trip to reception where I was told they thought we were only staying one day. (This was odd as we had to pay for the two days on arrival.) There were minimal inclusions in the room (I also had to go to the reception to get a bowl) and no information about the motel. I wanted a meal on Saturday night but the restaurant wasn't open!! Considering we were paying $277 a night, the whole package was a severe disappointment. We had been in Dubbo the night before at The Shearing Shed ($180 per night) and the difference could not have been more stark. The Dubbo motel was top-class and great value for money. The Best Western Plus Ambassador ran a very poor but expensive second.
I stayed here while travelling for work, after being in small hotel rooms prior to this stay, it was refreshing to have a room that was so spacious. The room and bathroom was clean and well kept. Can't fault this hotel.
Surprisingly large and very well maintained property. Roomy, comfortable, clean and quiet. Easy parking and proper pool. Mid priced but worth the premium. Things get off to a great start with the friendly reception. Did not try the in-house restaurant. 2km, 30 minutes walk to town restaurants but you have to walk past Kentucky, Maccas, Taco Bell. Red Rooster and more (microwave in room). The Korean restaurant in town is good.
Rooms are huge and feel luxurious with friendly accommodating staff who make your stay amazing! Spacious rooms with everything you need to have a completely comfortable stay. Will stay all the time here.
Very helpful staff and very accommodating and very friendly. Room was clean and spacious all amenaties were available. Cant recommend enough will return when that way again Just a little over priced But ok
Stayed at Ambassador on Fri 25 & Sat 26 Feb 2022 for the Midnight Oil concert. All of Orange was packed including this motel. However the service was excellent. Rod really went out of his way to ensure that we had everything needed. Meal at the Relish restaurant on Friday also excellent. I had a Porterhouse steak, my daughter the schnitzel. It was real country food, generous portions & home made.
Room was clean and plenty of space. Bathroom was also a great size and clean. Bed was comfortable. Overall a pleasant stay. We also had our work function in the dining area with breakfast which was lovely and a very decent serving.
Clean rooms and beds, swimming pool was lots of fun, the reception and host at the restaurant were very friendly, the salmon and the pork belly was delicious. Lots of parking, great sized rooms with good internet access.
Dirty used wine glass, sticky table and dirty basin spout. No crockery or cutlery in room. Discarded soft drink cans and masks left in gardens. Concrete outside rooms stained from soft drinks. Room size good but quality of towels and furniture poor for cost of room.
Room was clean and well presented Staff were cheerful and quick to assist. Pool was great!! 100% would stay again The food from the restaurant was good. The breakfast was delivered on time and was a good start to the day!
Lovely clean room, very helpful staff, Beautiful bathroom with an awesome spa, Plenty of parking very quiet area , very comfortable king bed Highly recommend staying if looking for somewhere in orange.
The king size bed was faulty and made terrible noises with every movement. Springs were also sticking out. We complained after the first night as we were staying three nights but none came to look at it or offered any solution.
Good experience at reception with a nice welcome. Very large comfortable and clean room. Did not need to ask for anything, it was all there, tea, coffee and fresh milk. Beautiful gardens with lovely roses and plants which are well cared for. Nice and quiet. Too far to walk into Orange so we drove, less than 5 minutes Thank you for a most pleasant stay.
Rooms where very spacious clean and comfortable staff were very friendly could not fault the accommodation thoroughly enjoyed my stay didn't have time to try the restaurant so I can't leave any comments about the food
The motel felt crowded outside when you arrived late at night. The tv did not work even with my knowledge and experience to make it work. More shelter from the heavy rain would have been good. The reception staff were very understanding.
Decent service and clean, but very, very dated and certainly not your best option in Orange. Air conditioner, bed, kettle, TV and other amenities are all old and/or very cheap. Bathroom was very dated.
Stayed in Orange many times for work but never here which i would say was the best so far. very professional outfit, friendly polite staff and no issue with stay. Had the family room which was very roomy. Easy fit 5 people
All in all was a good stay here, mostly friendly staff and great room service due to Covid. Could do with a TV upgrade in the room, due to the basic free to air channels. When stuck in the room streaming apps would be much more favourable.
Executive Room - Big room, plenty of space for small family, microwave and toaster (need to ask for plates and cutlery due to COVID), big TV (no foxtel), water pressure for shower was magnificent, beds comfy especially for a lie in on a cold morning, sofa and table and chairs made it like home away from home, plenty of easy parking and all rooms away from the highway noise. Quick easy drive into town although you can walk it (flat walk). Close by to fast food outlets for those looking for a quick meal. Very clean and tidy - would definitely stay here again.
Well maintained and excellent staff, clean well looked after gardens and parking areas, quiet on the nights we stayed, the fridge was well stocked and tea coffee facilities okay. Would stay there again next time we visit Orange.
Good stay. Nothing flash but clean , tidy and spacious. The family room had plenty of space for everyone with a seperate bedroom with two beds and a double in the larger main room. Tv a little small for the room . Room service breakfast was delicious. Ok if staying over.
The staff here are A+ they took the time to fix a problem with our booking with easy and made a stressful situation less stressful. The staff are very accommodating... will definitely be highly recommended on our list.
No fresh towels provided, broken items in kitchen, no tea towel provided, no TV remote, shower dirty, no internet in my room. Restaurant should be avoided. Sour faced waitress who clearly does not want to be there and you have to ask for water if you want any. Look elsewhere if you're in Orange.
Room was nice, mattress was comfortable, thought I would check the brand to see what it was, I wish I hadn't, the mattress had a dirty water mark down one entire side, the side I slept on all night, hoping the water damage didn't leave mildew or mould inside the mattress. More cutlery than 2 tiny teaspoons in the room would be useful to eat a meal with if you are not ordering from their restaurant.
My wife and I travelled to Orange with our 2 year old daughter for 3 nights. We shared a Deluxe room and found it to be the perfect size for the 3 of us. I did enquire a week before about a cot in the room for our daughter, but we decided to bring our own in the end, however the day before reception called just to double check in case we still needed it which I thought was good of them. We had a late check in so they left the key under the mat for us, and left the heater on in the room for us so it was nice and warm on arrival. The staff in general were all very friendly and helpful, even the cleaners. Location wise it's perfect, just on the edge of town (a short drive in) with a few good pubs nearby. The only downside was the bed was rather uncomfy, but apart from that all good, we had a nice stay
Room wasn't cleaned well, during COVID restrictions, it was atrocious - surfaces not even wiped down. Power went out ealy AM and couldn't be fixed, no lights, TV, fridge, kettle etc for half of our stay. Door to seperate bedroom broken, couldn't close off kids room. Previous occupants rubbish, lollies, belongings left under beds. Staff friendly but I won't stay there again. Not recommended.
Good place to rest for a stop over for a night. Large 2 bed room, clean and tidy. Very quiet considering the motel was fully booked. Unfortunately the pool was closed which was disappointing because of staffing issues.
We booked an executive room and found on arrival the room was a decent layout but the carpet was dirty and smelly the bathroom was grimmy with cob webs on the ceiling, the tv did not work, the was no information provided on the facility. I would only recommend this place as last resort.
Really poor rooms. It's 7:00 pm and 4.o cold and getting colder. I've just called reception to be told the reverse cycle will take 15 minutes to start heating. If I take my room key down to dinner the power goes off so when I come back to the room it will take another 15 minutes to get warm again. The tv doesn't work, again I called reception to be told that the cleaners must have accidentally turned it off and there's a push button on the side to turn it on. Rubbish, there is no way the tv could have been accidentally turned off. On further investigation the remote is busted and has been busted for some time. I'm not the first guest to let them know this. Why not give guests this information when they book in. This place needs an update.
We stayed there while visiting family in Orange, and enjoyed the stay, it was a little nicer than where we had stayed in Orange previously and a spa room was not much extra. The location was good for what we were doing and we heard no traffic noise.
My stay was for business purposes, the room was clean, the hotel was easy to find. Serviced each day. Ground floor room with no road noise. It was nice to have a two seater lounge in the room with a table and chairs.
We arrived late and asked if there was a place we could get a meal. Even though the restaurant was about to close, they cooked us a delicious meal. The room was spacious and clean. The bed was very comfortable.
Modern motel, lovely surroundings, room very clean and comfortable, lovely breakfast which arrived on time, receptionist was very welcoming on arrival, furniture very stylish, bed very comfy , had a good night's rest.
This clean and tidy hotel had everything you needed in a spacious room. Good parking and a pool area that can be seen from most rooms. Very happy to go back there again. Standard room is only 3 people though.
Nice spacious room, comfortable bed, and good facilities. But room is far from clean, and staff at reception are not particularly friendly or welcoming. On entering reception one client was being served. 2 staff members were in reception are but neither acknowledged me or even said as much as hello. The motel is also a fair bit out of town's centre
We stayed 2 nights in the hotel. When we first arrived, we noted food stains on the dining chairs and some bread crumbs on the sofa! The next day we went back to the room (it was after the room cleaning) we found the bed fitted sheets were not tucked in and the bedspread was not properly folded! We also noted some rubbish on the carpet not cleaned! Also the bed is very very uncomfortable to sleep in. I would not go back to this hotel ever again, and would not recommend anyone to stay there. The only one good thing about it is that the room and the bathroom is spacious.
Great pool, and our family room had 3 singles in a separate room - nice to have our own space. Hotel is presented really well and the room has modern decor. The bed was a touch too soft for us but we like a firm bed. It's a little far for a walk into the main town but a short drive or taxi.
This Motel in Orange has everything we needed for a great holiday stay in extremely hot weather. Lovely gardens, quiet surroundings and excellent air conditioning. Near the centre but not in it. Would be my first choice when next in Orange
A Modest room that is modern, roomy and tastefully decorated which is located way back from the highway. The bathroom is a little dated but it was very clean and a decent size and the shower was good. The king size bed and pillows were acceptable and the towels were ok. The room was very clean and had everything we needed. There was also ample car parking near the room, and the roses in the gardens are just beautiful. The only downsides is that there are no lifts for the second floor so one has to be able to climb the steps with luggage. The Motel is a few minutes drive to the town centre so transport is needed! We had a pleasant night's stay, slept quite reasonably and were happy with this accommodation. We would definitely stay again.
This hotel is an absolute gem. Higher end rooms on the weekend will set you back ~$180 but it's worth it. It's a 20 minute walk to the town center. Very clean, comfortable and breakfast is included. Less one star as our room had a plumbing issue which wasn't resolved during out three day stay.
Fantastic accomodation. Friendly staff very accomodating. Beautiful grounds the roses are spectacular. Swimmimg pool clean and safe. Room service fantastic. Meals at the restaurant mouth watering. 5 star. Rooms large and clean. Free wifi.
Clean & tidy.- beautiful roses surrounded the car park Bed not the best. Need to update mattresses & pillows The bathroom was clean & tidy. The kitchenette facilities were neat & tidy. The gym not great. A tiny stuffy room & out of order treadmill. Weights bench okay Staff extremely happy to assist in any way possible. Presentation overall was neath& tidy. I'd be happy to stay again- I'd byo pillow to ensure a more comfortable sleep however.
Clean, comfortable and spacious room. Food at dining room satisfactory. Dining room clearly had not been cleaned after breakfast when we had dinner and had not been cleaned after dinner when we had breakfast following morning. Probably a bit over priced as well.
Have stayed here last two nights.Very comfortable and clean room .A large room and bathroom. Both nights I enjoyed Room service for tea Lovely meals Only down side I booked on Booking .com and requested a down stairs room due to my mobility issues The day before I was to arrive I was contacted to be told the type of room I had booked was upstairs.I was upgraded at my expense to a downstairs room Staff are all helpful and friendly
Hotel is out of town, lacks cleanliness (property if full of cigaret butts, soap, discarded tissues) in the general property area. Staff are not very engaging, particularly when you report issues. Generally, property needs a clean up and staff need some guidance.
It is located on the way into Orange from Bathurst and is easy to find. Rooms were a good size, bed comfortable and shower was hot. There is ample parking and the staff were all friendly, so all you need when travelling. Also well located and just short drive into the main town.
situated on the eastern edge of town only a 2 minute drive to the center of the CBD, and shopping area also restaurants, etc. clean and tidy also the bed pillows were so comfortable, no noise, very relaxing place. the restaurant is well priced and a fair selection of foods at both breakfast and dinner, the steaks are cooked on a grill which gives them a fantastic flavour the meat is tender and a good size meal portion for the price well done.
Arrived this afternoon after driving for most of the day. Stayed here when it first opened 2005. Was fantastic, that was then, this is now. Bathroom hasn't been cleaned properly since god knows when. Didn't realise till I went to have a shower that we have 1 towel. 1 face washer. Lucky we are a couple. Went to make a coffee and couldn't find a teaspoon. Husband said he saw one on a table outside. In pyjamas creeping around to get a teaspoon. Comfortable bed. Good soaps and toiletries. Very sad. Such a lovely motel years ago.
We stayed at room 11 which can accomodate 5 people. Nice clean big room with small kitchen where you can make a cuppa or microwave your food. Bathroom is OK with all the necessary amenities (clean towels, shampoo and soap bars). The hotel also has pool so nice for summer I'm sure. Reception was friendly.
It is adequate, without being memorable in any way. Service was good, the room was extra large and clean. Furniture included a two seater lounge which was welcome, but generally all the furnishings are starting to show their age. It has been cosmetically refurbished at some time (repaint) but the bathroom is old and shabby. Whilst the bed didn't look inviting, it was actually reasonably comfortable. Given how cold Orange can get in winter, the heating was very adequate. The motel section is also a reasonable distance back from the highway so traffic noise was virtually unnoticeable. Please note, however, that the location is a couple of km from the CBD and it is a drive to most places, rather than a walk. It has in inhouse restaurant which we used on our two night stay and i must say that it was reasonably good with an excellent choice, good presentation and reasonable pricing. Well done!
We chose this hotel because of its proximity to the hospital where we had an appointment the following day. Our room was well priced and suitable for our needs. This is my second appraisal of your establishment. I had written many glowing things and cannot think of any more. Two hundred words is toooooo much.
The room was very large large and spacious enough for a child to run around. It's good for family stay. However the bathroom needs a bit of a overhaul and more detailed cleaning as the grout on the shower was brownish and one of the coffee mugs still had some sort of white foam on it....
Booked this hotel on line because it said it had a restaurant. No mention that it is closed on Sundays and Public Holidays until I asked about the restaurant at check in. There is information in the room but that doesn't help when you book on line. Very disappointed. Would not have booked if I knew the restaurant was not open. Worse was to come. The bed was the worst I have ever slept in. The air conditioner remote had to be held down beside the bed to have even a chance of being able to read it. Won't stay here again.
I arrived at 8pm and had quite a wait before being assisted. Directions to the room were vague but I went out into the night and eventually found the room. It was very cold and uninviting but large and clean. The furnishing were old and outdated. The bathroom old. It was a basic motel room and absolutely not worth the cost however accommodation in Orange is at a premium. I was dismayed to pay such a price for what was provided.
We booked a 3 night stay in early June 2019. Our booking was made through a 3rd party and was for a ground floor King Spa Suite. We chose that room as we were travelling with a 9 month old baby so needed a bath and wanted to avoid stairs. Unfortunately at check in we were allocated an upstairs suite with no bath. After questioning reception staff we were advised that we could transfer to a suite with a bath the following night. As we had to set up a portacot and other items for our baby we declined the offer as we didn't have to repack and then unpack again the following day. The hotel staff claimed that the 3rd party booking site was to blame. We have not had this claim verified. The room that we were allocated was very spacious and quiet, which certainly suited us. The bed and living room were comfortable and the bathroom facilities were adequate (sans bath, of course). The housekeeping left a bit to be desired - two examples being that one of the bins was left unemptied and an unfinished glass of red wine was emptied into the sink but not washed down the drain. Food ordered through room service was tasty but we did have to ring to check on our order on one occasion as it took a substantial amount of time to be delivered. This was apparently due to the volume of orders being experienced at that time. The onsite breakfast was okay but it's worth noting that Orange has a number of cafes that serve delicious food and far better coffee than is offered here.
The room itself had been done up and the bed was comfy but that's where it stopped. The bathroom had mould in the shower, the toilet seat was not on properly, the heater wasn't working properly to start with and it maybe due to the dirty filters and there was rodents in the wall. All was made note of to reception upon departure with little care and uninterested sorry.
Stayed for 2 nights recently. The complex is neat and tidy and set back from the road. Plenty of off street parking. The staff are friendly and greatly assisted us with taxi bookings. The rooms and bathrooms are large and nicely furnished but could be a little cleaner. The bathroom, in particular, had a wonderfully large spa bath but really needed a new toilet seat and the shower needed a little bit of a clean. If these aspects are addressed, I would definitely give the Ambassador 5/5.
We stayed in a King Room for 3 nights. A lot of places where booked for the food and wine festival. The room was large and fairly clean. The complex was neat and tidy. But the BED was seriously the worst bed I have ever slept in. Noisy, springs poking you, rolling into the middle. Terrible for the price you pay a comfortable bed is a must. I will not be back. Such a shame, because with a little more cleaning and a comfortable bed, this place could be brilliant.
We usually stay at the Accor Ibis in Orange but it wasn't available for this weekend so we opted for the Ambassador which is just next door. We were met with a smile, checking in was a breeze and we were pleasantly surprised by the size and decor of the rooms. The pool was clean and the receptionist was very helpful. Breakfast in the restaurant on Sunday morning was family friendly, lots of tasty options and relaxed. Highly recommend this property.
We stayed for 3 nights. Has good and bad points, I'll tell you good first - great size rooms, bed comfortable, tv big, bathroom huge. Now bad points - housekeeping very lazy, arrival no soap, no mattress protector, also no wine glasses - strange so I went to reception to get one and she said sorry we have a wedding on so we had to get all the wine glasses from the rooms OMG I thought your kidding - she did find a spare for me. 1st day ideal opportunity for housekeeping to clean their act up, but no unfortunately they couldn't even be bothered to empty out the bin and didn't realise we had no soap to replace and made the bed again without noticing to put a mattress protector on. Day 2 same as above but bin was emptied. Day 3 YAY!!!! We had soap, bin empty but still no mattress protector, in fact housekeeping failed to see we needed a mattress protector for 3 nights!! We checked out and I told receptionist she wS lovely and said oh no we have new ones! but too little too late for me!!!! Your work team had 3 days to realise we didn't have one and not good enough, I wouldn't stay here again. And before you ask why I didn't tell reception about all these mishaps when they happened - I shouldn't have to - if they not on the ball then too bad you get a bad review!!! Plenty of other places in Orange to stay so my advice go to them!!!
The Best Western Plus Ambassador Orange Hotel was a suitable place to stay for our overnight stay in Orange, as it was located on the Bathurst side of Orange, which is where we were through the day, only taking approximately 30 minutes to get to Bathurst, so was convenient for our stay.
Check in was quick, receptionist was friendly and very helpful and helped with options for meals and feedback on the circus which we had booked to see. We weren't disappointed. The pool was clean, not heated but okay once we were wet. Rooms are spacious, clean and well appointed and breakfast was great. 7 year old asked for something not on the menu and was so happy when it was served. We will stay here again for sure.
The second floor room was very neat and tidy with ample room for two people. The refrigerator was clean, cold and well stocked. The price for the deluxe room was excellent and even had an extra bed. Staff were very courteous and helpful. Highly recommend Best Western Orange
Stayed here and possibly would again. Not happy about price gouging when an event is on $145 pn night which then goes up to $200+ in Jan 2020. (Elton John concert) Rooms are large and suitably furnished.
Large and comfortable rooms spoiled by little attention to detail. Four cups with two saucers and one teaspoon is inadequate when paying $170 per night. No tea towel. Dust on chairs. Slow check in. two kilometres from town. Nice buffet breakfast was included but you had to pay extra if you wanted a proper coffee.
Rooms are large and comfortable, probably the closest accommodation to the airport on the outskirts of town. They are renovating one of the blocks, so looking forward to upgraded facilities next trip!
Convenient location although not in centre of town. Rooms spacious, renovated and comfortable beds. Useful to have kettle, toaster & large fridge. Breakfast was included but was basic. Extra is charged for cooked items or a decent coffee.
Our room was spacious and comfortable. The bed was quite good. The room service meal was OK but not great. The WiFi was also good with no dropouts and reasonable speed. Good gym and good parking. Overall not to bad.
Stayed here for 2 nights recently for a catchup with friends. Good quality room, reasonably priced. I found the bathroom more than adequate, I chose the double bed, very comfortable !(double and a single) Parking excellent! Staff were fabulous for me, they could not do enough to help/assist. Restaurant really super quality food, and most certainly you were not hungry at the end of the meal! Hardly had room for dessert, although (of course) just had to try some of the tempting delights! Happy to stay here again.
Neat and tidy room (ground level - room 31) with double bed, single bed and also it appeared to have a fold out couch. Room spacious and included desk and dining table for two. Kettle, microwave and fridge (mini bar) also available. Room quite dated but in reasonable condition. Bathroom toiletries basic - soap, shampoo and conditioner, shower cap. Towels need upgrading, some work and frayed. Wifi worked well to stream shows on iPad. Parking right outside door which was a plus, however if you want a sleep in, there is quite a bit of noice from people walking about and packing cars etc. Perhaps try and upstairs room. Reception staff friendly and helpful.
