    « nice place »

location is convenient to the mall and restaurants. the Best Western was a clean comfortable place. the breakfast was good and included hot items. The staff was nice and friendly for the most part. The indoor pool looked nice but I didn't get a chance to use it. I would stay there again.

    « WORST HOTEL »

I have never experienced anyone as rude as I did today. Terrible service upon arrival. Were of no help w TV issue. Dirty room. Unprofessional demeanor. Do not stay here. When I tried to resolve issue and speak to someone else I was given the go around multiple times. Beautiful property but ruined with terrible employees. This has completely ruined my experience here in Charleston. Spoke with Latausha, Kenya, and Cathy. Due to these ladies I will never stay at another best western property in fear of terrible service. Stay somewhere else!

« Clean, modern, friendly staff »

Wonderful place to stay, we came down for an overnight beach trip, every person we interacted with was wonderful, the breakfast was free, room very clean and very nice decor throughout the hotel. Would highly recommend a stay here. Parking was adequate and we felt safe.

    « Weekend wedding stay »

The room was clean, beds, & breakfast were good. The indoor pool water was not heated & was on the cold side. We had an issue with not getting our room cleaned the first day or the towels replaced. The bathroom was clean & functional, but the soap, shampoo & conditioner dispensers needed to be filled or were just slow, so you didn't use too much.

    3
    « Shame on You »

see complete review and comments. Best Western staff needs serious customer service sessions. Check rooms immediately upon entering. Take charge and don't depend on hotel staff to initiate the discussion about your stay

    « Nice Hotel »

The hotel room was clean. The kids loved the indoor pool. Lobby check in staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast was a hotel breakfast. It did it's job perfectly fine. We will look to stay here again for our tournament next year as well.

    « Great experience »

Loved the room, loved the service but could not enjoy the pool area. The room was very cold and I couldn't enjoy myself because I couldn't stop shivering. The young gentleman who assisted me was the best. He went out of his way to get me clean pool towels, turned up the pool temperature and kept checking on me to make sure I was ok. He has a wonderful personality and made my stay more enjoyable. I had not met any other employees and didn't know who to ask for help after 7pm when I couldn't find anyone else. He is a gem and you're blessed to have him for an employee.

    « Not What I Expected »

Our room was not very clean, with dust in the corners and a crusty stain/spot on the bedspread of one of the beds. There were two dead cockroaches, one in front of the refrigerator and one by the couch. We booked this hotel soley for the indoor heated pool, but the heater was broken and the water freezing cold. The instruction sheet in the room said there were towels provided in the pool area. When we got to the pool, there were no towels. I went to the front desk to ask for some and was told that they don't provide pool towels, but we were supposed to bring them from our room. When I stated that the instructions said they do provide them, I got an eye roll and a

great location and price. Clean and great staff. close to reastaurents. Not far to downtown or airport. Never had a bad stay there. Nice hot breakfast too! Beds are to die for and staff is extreamy friendly and helpfull.

    « Decent Hotel »

I only stayed in this hotel after I had previously booked an Extended Stay closer to the Coliseum for a concert but the Extended Stay overbooked and cancelled my reservation on my way to the hotel. So, still through the same HOTELS.COM app I proceeded and booked the Best Western Plus. It's decent to stay in.

« Bugs! Throwing disabled people out of handicapped rooms early! »

Killed 2 roaches in room! I am a diamond member, top of the food chain. I had a 2 o'clock checkout, however at 12 my handicapped cousin was told to he had 20 minutes to "get the h311 out". When I went to the front desk to complain, I mentioned that I was a diamond member and had a 2 oclock checkout. I was told "you ain't got no 2 o'clock checkout, that's only if we feel like it". I found 1item at a time missing in my room, alarm clock, coffee maker, tissues, and towels, each time I called the front desk I was made to go down to get the items myself! They walk around yelling and speaking rudely like they're in a bar or something. If you're wanting to feel like you're staying in the ghetto then this hotel is for you. If you expect great service and polite staff? Stay anywhere but here!

    « Very Unclean »

The check in process was smooth and didn't take long. However, this hotel was nowhere near meeting expectations when it comes to cleanliness. There were disgusting white stains on the couch, a used bar of soap still in the shower, and what appeared to be blood stains on the bed linens. In addition to this, the pool heater was broken (not a problem) but the pool was still open for swimming. We went swimming and while we were swimming, we noticed a large hairball at the bottom of the pool along with a clear plastic drinking cup. This place was disgusting! It makes me sad to say this because I have stayed at some really nice Best Western hotels but I would not recommend this particular hotel to anyone! I wish I had spent the money elsewhere.

    4
« Goodplace to stay, noy swim »

The rooms were very nice. The inside pool heating element was broke so the pool was cold. The breakfast was excellent. They issued us coupons to use at breakfast, but no one ever collected them, until the last day when we went down.

« OK, but not the best »

We stayed at this hotel so we weren't directly downtown. It was OK. Room smelled of bleach, but was very clean, and after running the exhaust fan for most of the afternoon, the smell seemed to dissipate. Most of the staff were friendly. Quirky thing was that the bathroom had product dispensers rather than bottles of shampoo, conditioner, lotion, etc. We've never seen that at a BW hotel. Water was warm, but in no way could it be considered hot.

    2
    « Good & Bad Experience »

I try to always look for the good in everything. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. There was a free breakfast included with the stay. However, I wouldn't stay there again for multiple reasons: The screw fell out of the inside door knob of our room one day and the outside door knob another day. It was fixed but left us feeling a little uncomfortable as the door did not close well without tugging on it each time it was closed. The desk staff were not friendly at all. I observed a very rude discussion with another guest who was having problems with someone from the hotel entering her room at 10:30 p.m. while she had a baby sleeping. This was heard from afar, but concerning. The heat/air unit in the room constantly made crackling noises and didn't work properly. The clock radio, even through turned off, made a faint static noise all the time. The smoking area was out back and very poorly lit. The front door is locked around 11 p.m. which we were not aware of and getting back at 11:15 we had to have someone open the front door for us. Just didn't feel very safe at this hotel. Overall the experience was not very positive.

    « Rude management »

Rude management, mistakes with our reservation from having a pack and play available to the wrong time frame for the reservation, pool heater and one of 2 laundry dryer out for some time. The staff was great but the management was aweful.

    5
    « Location »

Excellent location for any travelers. Access to food and entertainment venues and major highways. Great staff and amenities for a reasonable price situated among many competitors. It is not a Hilton or a Motel 6 with the light on but BW maintains it solid reputation at this location.

    3
« Just wasn't what I expected for the price!! Broken fridge!! »

Hopefully these issues will get taken care of! But I was told all the rooms were like mines they didn't have another room to put me in!!. However I will give them the opportunity to improve and will revisit this site to see if it's improved.

« BW to the rescue »

We originally booked the Charleston Grand Hotel for a week and it turned out to be a -0 star hotel. We arrived late and thought we would have to spend the night in our rental . I called Best Western Plus and they advised that they had a suite available and of course we hurried over and checked in. check in was quick and the room was what I expected in a hotel. All of the staff is great and the breakfast was great also. Not Gto mention shopping is very very close. My next trip to Charleston we will definitely stay there. The entire hotel is very clean and well kept

I love staying at this location... Latausha is always such a pleasure during check-in and always remember who I am.. The breakfast ladies are excellent.. Denise and Toica were great as well.. Breakfast was delicious... Has a great selection and I love that their is multiple meats and eggs... Great place to stay..

« Comfortable bed, clean room, good breakfast, reliable shuttle service »

We stayed here because it has a shuttle to airport and included breakfast. We were pleasantly surprised to have a very good buffet breakfast, a hassle free shuttle service, and a comfortable bed, and clean room. There were no problems at check in.

    « Solar eclipse 2017 »

We were in town for the eclipse and to tour the downtown historic area. The hotel was clean enough and I felt safe there. It was about a 20 minute drive into the historic part of the town. There is a Cracker Barrel near by but we didn't eat there.

    2
« BEST WESTERN MINUS THE PLUS »

It is located close to the airport but not convenient. If you are not familiar with the area it is easy to get lost. Although it looks pretty modern, the rooms need a good makeover. The cleaning staff uses some type of cleaner that leaves streaks on ever thing, (headboards tables and dressers ). Sheets are of very poor quality and thin. One bed was indented. As far as cleanliness, the housekeeper staff need to be trained . Inside of bathroom door had black smudges, long black hair in bathtub.Even the do not disturb sign was dirty. The cleaning staff were just finishing when we got there yet there was evidence of crumbs and small bits of paper in the hallway. Breakfast was good. I must compliment the evening front desk attendent, James. He was very helpful in arranging an Uber cab for my daughter and grandchildren. Overall, I do not feel this facility is worth the money.

« Tried to extort cash from me! »

I have no idea what the hotel rooms or amenities were like because at the time of check-in, staff tried to get me to give them cash for incidentals. Despite my confirmed and paid for room reservation, they refused to accept a valid CC to cover incidentals. I have never been asked to do this anywhere I've stayed in the last 40 + years! While agreeing I had a valid reservation and active CC, they insisted I give them cash to check-in. As I declined this "unpublished, local criteria", they would not check me in. As a result, I forfeited my rental charges as I was outside their cancellation policy. Phone conversations with BEST WESTERN reservations provided sympathy but no resolution. I will not use this Hotel ever again nor probably other sites. Stay away from this place.

« This Hotel could be so much more! »

When you first walk in this Hotel you think to your self this place is darn nice. That changed very quick when you take the elevator to your room. I got on the elevator and it was dirty. I got off on my floor and was welcomed with a bag of trash and a dirty recycle bin. As I was walking down the hall to my room there was random pieces of trash and a dirty wash rag in the middle of the floor. The rooms look nice at first but soon realize that they could be cleaner. Of the two days I ate there, they had sausage patty's and links and corned beef hash. One of the two days they did have some sort of egg patty. The hot breakfast did have the standard waffle maker and different types of bread. If I could give one bit of advice to the Hotel management, it would be step it up a bit and you could have one of the nicer Hotels in North Charleston.

My stay at the Best Western was wonderful. The staff was very nice and friendly. My room was always clean, and the location was Convenient.I would Recommend this hotel to my family and friends. I give this hotel a tumbs up

« Enjoyed the stay but was issues »

Room water cut off in the shower in the middle of me washing and wouldn't come back on. The cable kept going off so the kids was not able to watch the kids television shows. These are the only two problems i had.

    3
    « Needs Improvement »

There was no soap in the shower and hardly any by the sink. There was very little shampoo in dispenser in the shower. Hairdryer was missing. Had to call room service and wait for someone to come back from shuttle run to bring it to room.

    « Friendly breakfast staff! »

Friendly staff all around, front desk, shuttle driver, and ladies keeping up the breakfast nook. All were very helpful and friendly. Breakfast spread was very good... The ladies kept it clean and orderly! They greeted you with a smile and good morning.

    « Poor Customer Service »

We stayed at this hotel December 30th and 31st. We picked this hotel because of the convenience of staying near the Port of Charleston. I love Best Western Hotels but I feel that this one is lacking customer care. Our first nights stay was excellent with no complaints. Our second night was horrible with no sleep given that the room below us was party central until 5 am. We complained several times along with several other customers. We did not get any resolutions to our complaints with the Hotel or Best Western Customer Care.

    « Nice inn »

1st impressions were not great unfortunately, we arrived very late (10pm) after a long drive and stop for dinner before check in. Our room wasn't ready so the receptionist had to go make up our room and another room for someone else. When we eventually got into our room the sheets looked like they were previously used so again the receptionist came up and re made our beds with clean sheets, she was very lovely and helpful! Her shift had already ended but she was quite happy to stay and help. Seems the morning staff weren't quite so happy to fill up the milk when I asked for more though. The hotel itself was very good with a good hot breakfast. Shame about the 1st impression as the rest of our stay was very good.

    4
    « Comfortable Stay »

I Stayed at the hotel on 28th Dec 2017. It was Nice and comfortable stay at the hotel. The staffs were Friendly and co-operating. Rooms were clean and beds were comfortable. I would recommend this hotel to others.

    « Excellent stay »

Hotel comes as advertised: pretty standard B W PLUS facility. Room was clean, bright, everything immaculate; everything worked. Commented on the presentation of this ground floor room, and the clerk said it was one of the rooms cleaned by the Executive Housekeeper. Bed comfortable; lots of pillows; temperature adjustable on heat-A/C. Good breakfast bar. Excellent coffee. Check-in and check-out were a breeze: fast, accurate, no problems. Cheerfully stay here again.

    1
    « Unsanitary conditions »

The sheets had blood and body fluid stains from mattress cover to top sheets. All linen was dingy and worn Room smelled.. Big towels had body rust stains, and smelled. CLEARLY had been used but folded up and placed in there as clean. The health risk to your guest with soiled bed linen and used towels are great... It was completely disappointing and plan to make it known at every occasion ...

« Don't try to cash in your points here »

Best Western pulled a "bait and switch" on us. My husband works so hard, earning Best Western points as he travels for work. So we tried to check in here, with a reservation IN HAND, that said we were using reward points. This hotel said that it was not in their system, and that we had to fix it with Best Western, even though clearly it was their communication problem. After more than an hour, my husband talking to 3 different people, they move us to a lesser Best Western, for points we were charged for a Best Western PLUS. I hate how these supposed reward points are so hard to use. Not worth being in their club. But if you are, watch them like a hawk so they don't mess you over. Thanks Best Western, let's not do it again.

    « Great hotel »

As a family my son and wife we took a vacation to see the amazing things we read that South carolina had to offer, the trip has been nothing but a blessing and great experience, we rent it a room in a local hotel and this became a nightmare we had to cancel the room and book another hotel on travelocity. We choose this nest western plus and had a little doubt about how everything was going to work out. From the minute we arrive the lady on the front desk was very helpful and accommodated, great attitude and even answer some of my questions about what places we must see during out stay. Every employee that we spoke was very friendly and was always trying to help out. I will not stay anywhere else when we return to South carolina.

The location and price were great. Besides the few little mishaps everything else was great. Family friendly hotel especially since it was cold outside. Their swimming pool is conveniently located indoors beside the fitness center.

    « Waste of money »

Never had someone so dumb run the check-in counter. Didn't know how to check me in using points. Room stunk, beds were as hard as rock, and no freezer in the mini-fridge. Being an elite member, I was extremely dissatisfied.

    4
    « Front Desk »

As always, I had a pleasurable experience during my stay at this Best Western. The front desk associate was patient, kind and helpful. Although I had no problems with my room or amenities, it makes potentially bad situations better when the staff is friendly and accommodating. I will stay there again.

    « Great Service »

My Fiancé and I traveled to SC from Philadelphia. We had reservations for 3pm but we arrived at 9am. We went in and spoke with the hotel clerk Lastausha and explained to her that we arrived earlier than expected. There were no rooms available for early check in at the time of our arrival. Lastausha was very helpful. She was able to get us checked in early with no extra charge. Lastausha was very pleasant and understanding. When we got to the room you can smell that it was freshly cleaned. The only problem that I came across were the bed linen. the sheets had stains and something that resembled bubble gum. Thank God we brought our own sheets. I would recommend this hotel.

    2
« We will not stay there again. »

During our three day stay, our room was not touched or serviced. We had to ask a maintenance worker at the hotel to give us towels and toilet paper. When we visited the training room, we noticed that several machines were out of order. We felt that no one listened to us when we asked for service. We will not stay there again.

Nice hotel that will be even nicer when they finish the renovations. Front desk and Service folks were courteous and helpful. Nice fitness room and indoor pool. Location is a bit off the main road but it's lumped with 3 other hotels so it's not bad.

« Customer Service Class would help but not solve... »

Hi, please be aware that the 1 star is for the lack of customer service from the management that was on duty on the day I checked out. I booked a room through Hotels.com, I was looking for inexpensive and close to airport. This place fit the purpose, as my flight on November 16th was arriving after midnight on the day of my check in and my stay was going to be only until check out on November 17th. I phoned the hotel earlier in the day on the 16th to make them aware of my late check in and the girl I spoke to interrupted me as I was speaking and telling her of the late arrival. She said she'll put a note on the reservation. okay great! Well I arrived at about 2am, my flight landed at about 145am, so the hotel was closed enough. The gentleman that was working the front desk was very pleasant, he was able to find my reservation but there was no room attached to it. The gentleman said that his manager advised him that all reservation for the night will have room already assigned. Well the only thing I understood to have been on my reservation was that I would be arriving late. The front desk gentleman started searching for a room for me. He said there were rooms but they were either not cleaned or there were actually people in them. Yeah, I was a bit confused but I was patient and I saw that he was really trying to find a room for me. I even told him that I would take an accessible room (handicap room) if there was one available, I just needed to sleep. He said that there weren't any open. He continued to search and physically go to the rooms to check them out to see if they were in deed vacant and to see if they were clean. He found me one that was not what I reserved, but it was vacant and clean. I was in the room for maybe 5 minutes when there was a know on the door. It was the gentleman from the front desk. He said his manger just called and said the room we were in was actually reserved until the 20th, so we would have to move to another room if it was clean. Mind you it's now about 330am. The guy returned to us saying that the other room is cleaned but he was asking me if I decided if I wanted to cancel the stay all together. CANCEL??? why would I cancel, I need to sleep for a few hours before I continued my trip for the weekend. So at about 4am we were able to lay our heads down and sleep, about 10 minutes later the room phone rand and it was a woman from the from the front desk asking what room we are checked into, I couldn't remember, but I think I said the correct room number at the time. But wait didn't she call me at the room on the room phone??? Well, we finally slept for the few hours we could and when I called to get a late check out they were not very helpful with that either. Now I am speaking with the "Manager on Duty" at the front desk. She said we had to check out at noon no later. and at 10am the maid service started knocking on our door to see if we were checking out. Needless to say there was no more sleep to be had. As I was starting to get ready to shower the hotel fire alarm went off and thankfully my travel partner called down to the front desk to see if it was a test, it was a test. We continued to get ready to leave. I had to go return the key and get my receipt for the stay and that's where bad went to worse. Latasha Rapley was the Manager on Duty, and she was the most rudest person I have ever had to deal with. I work in customer service, I teach customer service, I notice good and bad customer service. I am here to tell you that the true lack of customer service that I provided the day I was leaving the hotel is the reason I will not return and will tell everyone I encounter to steer clear of this hotel. Not only was I cut off again while trying to speak to her, she decided to wave her hand with her long royal blue nails at me and then ask "and what was your issue?" As I tried to explain again the issue and asked for some kind of percentage off, she cut me off and said I booked through a 3rd party, I would have to deal with them for money back. The issue wasn't with them it was with the hotel. She didn't even apologize for the inconvenience or the fire alarm or anything. When I asked for my receipt, she said they don't give receipts for 3rd party stays. I questioned that since I has to give my credit card for the incidentals. She then said we don't give anything. I questioned that again and she said do you want a "reg sheet"?, I said yes I would, although I didn't know what a "reg sheet" was. she made a copy a sheet that I will assume is the registration sheet. It does have my name on it but it does not have any total on the sheet, nor did they have my sign anything at check in or check out.. Even if the hotel couldn't do anything about the percentage off the room for the inconvenience, the "manager" could have offered a bottle of water or coffee or something. At the very least apologized profusely for the inconvenience of waiting on a room and then the fire alarm.

« Easy access to interstate 26, great breakfast, housekeeping not acceptable »

Room was up to date, with microwave, refrig, flat screen TV and dispensed liquid soap. shampoo and lotion. The breakfast bar was kept well stocked and lots of room during prime times. The negatives are that the housekeeping staff leaves much to be desired. No tissues in bathroom, roach in bathroom, very little shampoo and soap in dispensers. Additionally we were there last weekend from Fri afternoon to Mon and our room had not been cleaned. I complained on Sat afternoon after being out for 6 hours sightseeing. They said they were short staffed and offered to clean the room. I said it was ok not to clean, but assumed it would be cleaned the next day, which is was not. We out of the room for 7 hours. Then on Mon, with a check out of 11:00 and the "do not disturb sign on the door", they came in at 9:30 to clean! Also very noisy at night. Every little sound in the hallway could be heard. I would think for an overnight stay, it would be fine.

    « LOW COUNTRY TRIP »

My wife and I enjoyed our first visit to Charleston in over 40 years and were quite impressed with the visitor center and tour bus excursion for which we signed up. We saw a lot of the unique homes, exciting market place, and were especially impressed with the tour we had of the Citadel, a unique military academy that delivers strong officers for all four branches of the military.

I stayed at this hotel earlier this week and I will never set foot inside a Best Western Hotel again. It took the front check-in employee over 30 minutes to check us into our room. The reason given was that the network system was being problematic. We had a credit-card held reservation! How difficult could it have been to manually check us in? Our "smoke-free" room smelled of smoke, mildew and stale air. The ice machine outside our room had a pool of water in front of it. The cooling system spewed tiny pieces of white styrofoam out all night long; it looked like snow on the carpet in the morning. The bed was uncomfortable and the three pillows were shaped like (and felt as hard as) bowling balls. What a disappointment. The only good amenity was the free airport shuttle service; the drivers were friendly and efficient.

« Best of the BEST Western »

Friendly staff, comfy beds, clean rooms, delicious breakfast! Can't say enough about our wonderful 2 night stay. The only issue was the loudness of the highway that's nearby. Otherwise it was an awesome stay for an awesome price.

The hotel was fun and colorful and everything looked new. The room was HUGE and inviting. I did show up very late and no one was at the desk so I filled my car with gas and when I returned the staff member was there. She set me up with everything I needed and was extremely helpful. I had to be up and out very early and she set me up with a To-Go bag breakfast. My only criticism was that the bed was very hard in my opinion.

    « Best breakfast »

Best Western has the best breakfast especially when you have children that travel with you, they have choices. The best western in Charleston South Carolina was very nice, the staff was wonderful and were very helpful especially the ladies that work in the morning for breakfast, the room was clean and was fresh, body wash, shampoo and condition is available in the bathroom in case you forgot yours which I thought was very cool, great hotel.

Very clean, nice looking hotel. Staff person at front desk is not so friendly and a bit lazy but the manager is very professional friendly and courteous. Nice location and great value for money. Indoor pool is nice.

    « Something fishy »

We booked a room via Hotels.com but when we arrived after 7 pm, we were told that the room wasn't ready for at least an hour. We said we'll be back after dinner but front desk said she could not guarantee the room by then and suggested that we contact Hotels.com instead and be transferred to another hotel. Front desk cancelled our reservation right away after Hotels.com representative talked to her. Hotels.com did their part excellently. I wonder if hotels treat guests differently dependent on how reservation was made. Front desk kept emphasizing third party reservation.

Hotel had a clean appearance. We had to wait an extra hour for our room to be ready. Ran out of towels, called the front desk twice, finally went down to the laundry room my self to get them. Ran out of eggs for breakfast both days, lack of coffee choices was disappointing as well. Mattress was very firm to uncomfortable in our room.

« Worst nights sleep in a Best Weestern Plus yet. »

Given the Best Western requirement for a pillow top mattresses to be used at their Plus hotels this one squeaked by. We have been loyal patron of the Plus or Premier Best Westerns since 2013. Using this franchise exclusively for good night's sleep while traveling. A good night's sleep was not to be had last night. Tonight we are in the BW Plus in Port Wentworth, GA and can already feel the difference we should have enjoyed in Charleston, SC. I write this only after confirming the better mattress here. Hotels today all have bathrooms with showers and toilets, tvs and a/c. The difference is in the mattress they use. But it is clear to me that this BW Plus' mattress is not up to the standard of the other BW Plus'.

    « Great Location »

Hotel is right by an IHOP and a cracker barrel. Also, it is right by the highway, a mall, and a movie theater, all these are within a mile or two. If you're craving more stores the ranger outlets are three exits away and are surrounded by every restaurant you can think of.

« Very good, great front desk staff »

Needed a room quickly and they provided it! Very comfortable spacious rooms. We really like the hotel. It was neat, clean and the staff is fabulous. We're a little picky, the bath room of 406a could use a little touch up paint. Overall, a great stay. Thanks!

« Great hotel, horrible sleep »

The curtains in the room does not fully close allowing light in the room at night and during the day. Because of the lights was not able to go sleep at night and when I did finally fall asleep the sun shined directly through the same window on to me in morning waking me up. Staff is adequate but not that friendly. The amenities and room made up for their attitudes. Close to the interstate and many restaurants and shops.

« worst hotel I ever been to »

If you like a clean room, don't come here. Nobody comes to clean the room. We were here over a week, the sheets were never changed. I know this because of the blood stain on the sheet. I saw it every day. Our trash never got picked up and we had to go ask to the cleaning ladies for fresh towels ourselves. THey never bothered to pick up our dirty towels either. At some point I called the reception to let them know we were waiting on the cleaners for 3 days, she said someone will come. I told her shouldn't I have priority since I been waiting for 3 days? And also the cleaning cart has been in the hallway since 8am, it's noon now but I haven't seen the cleaning people at all. The answer was: that's perfectly fine, someone will come. Can you tell they don't care at all about their customers? This place has NO custumor service and there's no way to file a complaint. ONly person to talk to is the receptionist who doesn't care at all. Another point: we requested the shuttle service from the airport at 11.30. we waited an hour no one came, then called back to hear: shuttle service stops at 11.30. WHy werent we informed when we called the first time???

Really nice! Staff was very friendly and helpful. Enjoyed the free continental breakfast :) Close to the airport and many good places to eat. Tanger Mall and Northwoods Mall are within 15 miles. Perfect for any travellers!

    « Helpful staff »

We staffed here because of its proximity to the airport since we were flying out the next day. Rooms are clean, staff is friendly and the maintenance man was very helpful. He replaced the bedside table because it was broken, showed us how to work the tv channels, and brought us a plate of cookies.

Good Experience. Will Be Back. The main reasons I will always refer people to this hotel: Unfortunately, I was VERY ill the entire time we were in Sorrento. I was bed-ridden and confined to the room mostly. Since there are lounge chairs on the roof, I was actually able to take the elevator and lay by the pool on the roof-top a few times as a change of scenery. The front desk called a doctor for me. The doctor came to the hotel to my room that day. She was so nice and gave me some prescriptions my husband filled at a nearby pharmacy. We had to cancel an excursion we had booked, and the hotel called the company and explained my situation. We were not charged for the cancellation. My husband found it was very hard to find any kind of take-out food he could bring to the hotel for me, so we had to do room service a couple times. The hotel was having a big buffet event one evening and told us they were not doing room service that night. They offered to have some food from the buffet brought up to the room for us, and they would only charge based on one meal because they knew I was ill and could not get out. They were extremely helpful and accommodating. If I had to get sick at a hotel we stayed at in Italy, this was the one. It was the most comfortable and accommodating of all the places we stayed.

    « Not a good experience »

The bed for me was like sleeping on cardboard. There was not enough breakfast items. And there was a a group of very loud people out at the smoke area from 3am till I called at 4:45 am to report them.

« Best Western Plus Hotel - Charleston, SC »

This hotel was in a good location to drive into Charleston or to drive up to Columbia,SC to view the total solar eclipse. Staff were helpful, but maintenance needs improvement. Breakfast was very good. The hotel provided extra space for the increase in the crowd that came to view the eclipse.

    4
« Helpful and considerate staff, good location re airport »

The staff of this motel was always helpful. Much appreciated was their kindness in letting guests who came to Charleston for the eclipse were welcome to use the public rooms after checkout while waiting to see the eclipse, which the wide expanse of sky outside the motel allowed. Our rooms were comfortable. The motel is also conveniently located to historic Charlestown. We could easily be in the heart of the old city within 15-20 minutes.

    « Horrible Accomodations »

When i arrived no one seemed to want to help me to check in. Once i finally received my room key, my room had a horrible mold smell. There were roaches crawling, shower water nozzle was broken, no hot shower and my mattress and bed linens reeked of urine. I do not recommend this hotel. I travel to the area several weeks a month and i will avoid staying at this hotel going forward.

« Customer Service Upgraded NEEDED »

I arrive at the hotel around 4 pm, after 8 hours of driving with 2 young children. At the time of check-in I watched the clerk flirt and smile with a male customer who appeared to be checking out. When I walked up to check in I was met with a sour attitude and short, hurried responses to my questions. Immediately upon coming into my room I noticed that there was not a single towel or washcloth in the bathroom. I stepped outside of my room to ask the housekeeper, who was in the hallway a few doors down, if she had any towels on her cart. She gave me a quick "no" and continued what she was doing. I stood there bewildered for a moment (after all, should she have stocked my room with fresh towels before I arrived). After a few seconds I asked a rhetorical question "should I go downstairs to get some" well To my surprise she replied yes! I then went back into my room to call downstairs and after asking if I could have some towels brought up I was met with silence on the line...... I go downstairs to talk to the clerk again and she says "well I said I would send someone up!" (But she hadn't) I go back to my room and wait another 30 minutes (exhausted and feeling icky from a long drive). I go back downstairs only to be told that there are NO CLEAN TOWELS. I went back to my room once again. After 30 minutes I hear a key in the door and someone starts to walk in. I ran to the door startled only to see another housekeeper standing there with towels in hand (no knock?!!) She says, "I'm sorry i didn't know anyone was here" (Really?!) she then continues "here are some towels but we don't have any wash clothes yet, when we get some we'll let u know ( it's midnight and I have yet to receive wash clothes but refuse to go back downstairs until it's time to checkout). OAN the fridge in the room did not work, the maintenance guy got that taken care of quickly (he was very polite and even when he saw me coming back in from a food run he asked me how everything was going, by far the best customer service I've received in this place, he even brought ice to the room until he was able to get the fridge replaced). Overall I've been so annoyed with the level of customer service in this place. It's the worst I've ever received at a hotel. I've had issues at other places but what the hotels may have fell short on in accommodations they made up for in customer service, it makes all the difference. At this point I doubt I'll ever stay at another Best Western "so called" Plus in the future.

Service at check in was awesome! But as I went into the room and got ready for bed after a 5 hour drive I jump in the shower to a empty soap dispenser and empty shampoo dispenser and a used bar of soap! So glad my son didn't get in the shower and try to use this used bar of soap! Please clean the rooms better!

Bad smell on Hall Ways, way to much noise at night inside the rooms and floors that don't let you sleep. Both of my night we couldn't sleep up to 3:00 am. Poor room service they forget to do your room and when they do your room they do it half way they don't refill the dispensers for the shower gel, shampoo or conditioner.

Came in on business, I travel a lot. The experience from booking a week before arrival until my day of departure was Awesome! Thanks for a great customer service experience, which is something that is not often offered these days. The rooms were clean everything worked. The place was well lit. Close to everything there is to do, and not to mention fairly new. I would recommend for a pleasant stay.

    « Good Hotel! »

The hotel is located a little far from downtown Charleston. It would probably take you 20 minutes to get to downtown. If you need to be close to the airport, this is the one. The quality of the hotel is great.

« Sadden of our experience »

Check in was at 3, our room wasn't even ready at that time. Our beds had stains and hair still on it. As if they weren't even changed from the previous person. The room was not cleaned. There was trash still on ground and hand prints on the dresser/tv stand. The bathroom had hair all in sink, q-tip on floor. The in shower dispenser for conditioning was empty and shampoo was almost there. The shower curtain had mold all over it. The airport shuttle took over 50 minutes to pick us up. The hotel clerk said the taxi they used would cost $20, since shuttle was not available at 4 am. The taxi driver cost us $28 before tip. Overall, the worst experience we've had and we travel four times a year for prolong periods of time.

Hello checked in Thursday 7/13 - room fine Went out 7/14 returned 7/14 at 6:30 pm ROOM NOT CLEANED YET called front desk and spoke to Camille who said the housekeepers still working. At 7:40 pm, NO HOUSEKEEPER , went to front desk. She said I've been busy checking in a family reunion, what do you need in the room? I asked for the manager and she repeated WHAT DO YOU NEED in your room? I asked for towels and new coffee packets and cups for the morning as we were checking out at 6 AM She handed me some clean towels and I carried them up to the room myself. Room still unmade. Called back for the coffee and cups and Latausha Rapley, manager on duty, came to the room around 8 pm with the coffee. I asked for a credit , she said she would take something off the bill. Both rather rude and neither one apologized for the lack of service.

We have stayed here several times, and probably will again. This stay is the first time we had any issues with breakfast, but for the person/family who visited for the first time, they were left with a bad impression of this location. Always clean and safe. I have stayed at several Best Westerns in several different states and this was by far the worst one. The service however was top notch, very accommodating staff. We had a total of 4 rooms reserved. Had to wait awhile for front desk clerk to show up and get us checked in. The hotel is clean, rooms spacious and had microwave and refrigerator. Near the airport and I did hear airplanes, but not intrusive.

We went out on Saturday from 9am until 6pm. When we got back to the room, nothing had been touched. We had no maid service. When I called down to the desk I was told that there was nothing she could do except give us linens which we had to go down and get ourselves. The carpet was wet under the air conditioner and the TV had a total of 10 channels that you could watch. The staff was unconcerned when the complaints were made. I will never stay here or recommend this hotel. I did receive BW points for a stay at another BW after complaining to the corporate office.

    « High Water Festival »

The hotel seems like a new construction (clean remote, bulk shampoo and other personal items to help the environment! woot!). It smelled like cleaning products in the lobby, so that was good. Shower hadn't been given the once-over by the cleaning staff, and there were a few small items left behind from the previous guest. Oh well, not a biggie. The rest of the room, entry way, lobby, breakfast area etc were very clean and well maintained.

    « Not worth $124!! »

The staff are friendly & inviting. We especially enjoyed the sweet lady serving breakfast. The hotel itself, not in great condition. Seems to have been renovated recently, on a tight budget. It would be a good value at the $80 price point, the $124 is way to high for this establishment. We had part of the bathtub fall off during my son's bath. The hotel & beds seemed very clean.

« Very good airport area hotel »

New hotel with good services, friendly staff, ok hot breakfast and quiet sleep. Few complaints at all in three days I was here. Good comfortable bed and great soft pillows. Has shuttle to airport or will call uber and pick up cost. Only complaint is that in room safe was just sitting on the floor of closet and not bolted down. Thus I did not use as anyone breaking in would just carry out the safe.

Staff did nothing to curb other guests who were rowdy after midnight. Three calls to the front desk did nothing to stop the noise. When I checked out the next morning, the rowdy guests still had not checked out. I'm sure they were sleeping in after a fun night. Front desk told me that they should have been asked to leave after the 3rd complaint. They didn't even follow their guidelines. Offered me $20 refund-still haven't received that.

« Average - Unless You Need Internet »

The Best Western Plus provides clean, comfortable accommodation. We rented two rooms. One had two queen beds. The other had two queens and a couch and chair sitting area. The highlight of the stay was the friendly, courteous staff who are concerned for their guests and try to be helpful. However, management has a long way to go, as I will describe below. The water pressure, hot water and electricity all worked fine. The elevator is reliable. Parking is ample. The buffet breakfast was basic and typical, offering juice, cereal, yoghurt, eggs and sausage, sausage gravy over biscuits, waffles breads, muffins and pastries, hot drinks. The rooms had some shortcomings. The air conditioning unit in the larger room made a lot of noise. The smaller room had a stale, musty smell to it - perhaps due to an effort to clean after someone had smoked in the no-smoking room. The internet failed to work the second of three nights we spent at the Best Western, and continued not to work until sometime the next day. The staff were baffled as to what could have caused the problem. They clearly had not been trained in how to respond to a problem. The staff had no access to even try to reboot the router, since the unit was for some reason located in a locked office to which staff does not have access. Nor was there anyone they could call to address the problem. During the evening I was told that I'd have to wait for the day-staff to arrive at 7:00 AM the next morning to address the problem. The next morning the day-staff said they had no idea what to do, and would have to wait till 9:00 AM for the manager to arrive. They seemed very reluctant to call management. Overall, the Best Western offers reasonable accommodation so long as you do not need reliable internet access, say for work.

    « Great property but.... »

The property is beautiful but be advised that you will be charged double the payment for the room. They run your card info overnight the night before check in and then also expect you to pay at the property at check in with the hopes of your funds being released in five days. They also call you before check in for your payment. I was called at noon to pay but couldn't check in until three.

« Nice place ... Shame about the transport »

The room: Comfortable beds, housekeeping is very good. The bathroom: While there is a bar for face soap, toiletries such as shower soap, hand soap and shampoo are dispensed via a push button dispenser mounted on the shower and bathroom walls. It might be economic from a supply point of view but the dispenser really doesn't give all that much for use unless you push multiple times. The TV: fairly basic cable, excellent reception. The Internet: you'll be given a password on the envelope containing your key card which needs to be entered once a day, and prompted to pick either an ad or a no-ad option (which delivers slower speed). Actually the ad option isn't intrusive, and signal strength is excellent (you can watch streaming video). Breakfast: free, buffet-style, and actually all right. Two types of sausages and eggs are usually freshly cooked, there's a selection of fresh fruit, and a DIY waffle iron. Greenies may roll their eyes at the disposable dishware and cutlery, but you do get fueled up for the day ahead. Dining options: you're within walking distance of a Cracker Barrel and an IHOP, and if you're willing to brave the evening traffic there's a Ruby Tuesday's across the way. The lobby clerks will also furnish you with brochures from pizza and Asian places that do delivery. Pool: small, but well-heated. You can get some decent exercise. Laundry: Both washer and dryer require $2 US worth of quarters to operate; detergent and dryer sheets are available at both vending machines in the laundry room or from the hotel lobby. Dryer may require 2 operations for large loads. Transport: while shuttle service to and from the airport is available, the hours are from 7 am to 11 pm, which isn't really good if your flight happens to fall outside those hours. If you want to use public transit to go downtown, you need to walk about two blocks and catch the number 12 to a superstop, then grab a 10 or 11 to go downtown. Unfortunately the bus option isn't particularly great, especially on Sundays; using Uber is probably your most efficient option outside of renting a car.

« Perfect Hotel for Pre Cruise »

We were very impressed with the hotel. The hotel stay was very comfortable and relaxing. I would highly recommend this hotel as a 4 star hotel with beautiful décor and comfortable bedding. Plenty of restaurants within the hotel. Shuttle service to and from the hotel.

I stayed in this hotel on 11/11/2016, the manager was rude to the desk clerk and very unprofessional. My room was not inspected before our arrival, the sheets needed to be replaced and the headboard was not clean, when I called the front desk, it took over 30 minutes before the maintenance man showed up and he verified the conditions of the headboard and sheets, he returned within a few minutes to replace the sheets and he cleaned the headboard. The maintenance man reported what he found and the cleaning team supervisor was notified, which she did come to my room the following morning to asked what we're my issues with the room, she also brought the cleaning maid to the room to hear my complaint. There was no adjustments made to my bill either, I did not ask for any adjustments as well. Anthony Jesse

    « Clean & Convenient to Airport »

Always great value for the money here - it's clean, the bed is comfortable and its very convenient to the airport. Wifi is a bit spotty/not the best quality, and both stays at this hotel I've experienced noisy upstairs neighbors and noise in the hall at late hours of the night. Overall though - this hotel serves its purpose.

    « Awesome Hotel! »

We booked 3 rooms for a family weekend in Charleston.. Front Desk staff was friendly, efficient, and helpful...both on the phone and in person. Very clean, updated rooms and lobby. Hot breakfast included with your stay--eggs, sausage, biscuits and gravy, and well as the "regular" continental breakfast offerings. We loved having the shampoo/conditioner/lotion/soap dispensers in the shower and sink area...and I'm sure its much more cost-efficient than those little bottles (unless you are a collector of those!) Located just a 10 minute drive from historic downtown Charleston...well worth the drive!!

« another but newer Best Western »

The exterior appearance leads one to think the Best Western is upgrading its reputation. The experience was not that much more than their standard fare. It was a little cramped, but clean and the room was quiet and comfortable. I would stay there again, but it is not my first choice for Charleston.

Great experience! Got there a little early so my reserved room wasn't quite ready but they were able to get my family and I a room in a reasonable amount of time even though we were the ones who caused the issue. Every staff member we met were friendly.

« Great front desk staff »

Displaced by hurricane Matthew, but needed to fly to DC for business. Had trouble finding a place to stay but thankfully this hotel was open to accommodate us. The hotel was severely understaffed due to hurricane, but Jean at the front desk was working soooooo hard -she was the only one at the front desk, she came to work on her off day, the phone was ringing non-stop, but she handled everything very well with a smile on her face. GREAT JOB!!!!!!!!!!!! Thank you so much, I will definitely stay here again.

« Clean and Safe family hotel for a reasonable price »

We booked a Standard Non Smoking Room with 2 Queen Beds, microwave, Ironing, mini refrigerator, complementary WIFI, Complementary Breakfast and round the clock brewed coffee. Negatives - Just one - The only drawback was that body wash , shampoo and conditioner were loaded into dispensers. our rooms body wash dispenser did not work. If you prefer to use hotel toiletries , then you mind want to reconsider it and carrying your own stuff when visiting this hotel. Positives - Many - First thing I noticed about this hotel is it was very clean and smelled good. They property was well lit and safe for family and kids. The room was reasonably priced at $121.54 This hotel has quite a few hotels around it making this place safe and well lit. You have restaurants cross the road. So if you are checking in late, don't worry you can find yourself a decent restaurant next to the vicinity. They have ample parking facility and an indoor pool. They beddings were good and clean. There were no gross odor down the hall way or inside the room. I saw a lot of families in the hotel, and made me feel comfortable. This hotel is at least 30minutes away from historic downtown Charleston. If you find the downtown hotels expensive, this hotel will a good option to look at.

« Good clean room....but has some issues »

Room was very clean and everything (TV, furniture, bathroom, etc.) was in great shape. Breakfast was good and the area was clean. Cooling unit was loud and did not keep the room at the temperature it was set on. Beds were very firm. Felt like sleeping on a board!!! Could hear a lot of doors slamming when people shut their door. Room was a good price and would consider staying again only if the beds were softer.

    « Great place! »

The staff was very nice, friendly and accommodating. My room was neat and most of all CLEAN. When I had a request, it was granted. I had a few laughs with the employees as well. The shuttle service from the airport was prompt and the driver was kind and helpful. Upon entering the hotel I was pleased with the appearance and most of all the smell. I would definitely stay there again.

    « Clean and comfortable »

We always tend to stay here when we visit South Carolina. We stayed for 4 nights. They have been undergoing a renovation and I must say, the lobby looks great. Unfortunately, we encountered the same issues that we had the last time we stayed. The side door would not always open. And not only that, the door to our room wouldn't open. We had the keys rekeyed but it wasn't the keys, it was the batteries that control the opening of the door. The front desk lady was alone and there wasn't anyone else there and there wasn't a maintenance person either. After an hour, we were finally able to get into our room. The kicker is that the next night our key didn't work again but this time it didn't take an hour, just the time of rekeying of the key. There were a few days that we missed housekeeping, which was okay, but after using our towels twice, I went down to the front desk and the weekend manager was there and when I requested some towels, she just gave me a look and said, we don't have any. I asked when they would be ready and she said housekeeping won't be here for another 20 minutes. That's all she said. Nothing like asking what room we were in so that she could let us know when the towels would be ready. Anyway, for the most part, we had a great stay and we will come back again.

    « Okay stay but I wish I had a better experience »

I only had one stay on this hotel because my flight was so delayed that my friend and I had to stay a sudden extra night in Charleston. This hotel is fairly close to the airport and although we got a ride to the hotel via a taxi/hotel shuttle service, as a warning if you need a ride back to the airport in the morning before they run a shuttle service, you will be paying for a taxi. I wish they had told us that once we had checked into the hotel because I would've called an Uber driver in the morning instead of paying the taxi driver an extremely high fare. I was frustrated that no one even told us or gave us a heads up about it. We got there later in the night and there are a few food places nearby to walk to and eat. We ended up at the Cracker Barrel near the hotel and there are other hotels in the area. We walked there after it was dark and since it seemed to be a hotel area, it was pretty safe. The hotel lobby is like other Best Western hotel lobbies and although the front desk employee was nice, like I said, I wish she told me about the taxi in the morning. She was nice enough to switch me to a two bedroom instead of the one bedroom when we got into the room and realized the room I booked only had one bed. There is free breakfast in the morning and I remember grabbing a banana but I think there were some normal breakfast fare such as yogurt, cereal and some hot breakfast items. So we ended up in the two queen bedroom for the night and there was enough room for our suitcases and such. There was a refrigerator and a coffee maker in the room. The bathroom had plenty of counter space for two females and all of their items and there was a fan in the bathroom for ventilation. After staying in another hotel without this luxury, it was a nice change. The shower pressure was very nice from what I remember because I really liked it. I did not use the hotel Wi-Fi at all. I used the hotel gym and it was very small but it had cardio machines and weight machine. No one was in there when I used it but it would be extremely crowded with more than two people. There is a TV in there to use and a water fountain. I do not know if there was a pool on the premises. The hotel was decent for a quick night's stay but I wouldn't stay here if you wanted to go downtown just because it was closer to the airport and the shuttle service was lacking. I probably wouldn't stay here again just because of the bad experience I had with the hotel shuttle situation but if you need a quick place to stay, it was clean and they had free breakfast.

« Pleasant stay for unpleasant trip »

This hotel in North Charleston, SC was very clean, convenient and well appointed. Lodging was the most pleasant part of this trip, whose purpose was unpleasant but necessary. Thank you for the bright spot of the trip!

    « No issues »

Upon checking in the property is located on the same block as 3 others and 1 under construction. I did not notice active construction but I was there on a weekend. The rooms were very clean and fresh. I did see one bug roach like in the bathroom. I did not notice anything else. The breakfast was delightful. The main reason I rate theirs above most other chains is because they have Turkey sausage options. Most hotels have only pork options available. The parking lot is a little small but I had no issues parking. It is located very close to many of the places I need to go. I would stay again

    « Murphys law! »

Melissa was very welcoming. We went to room, 5 min later asked to move to another room since they were not supposed to rent that room. Moved across the hall, unpacked for our stay. Went into bathroom, huge black mold in ceiling above shower. We were ungraded to a Jacuzzi suite, but had to pack again and move up a floor. Unpacked and mini fridge did not work, we need for meds we use. Remote for TV did not work. Talked with manager next day, grudgingly offered BW $25.00 gift card, later offered BW $50.00 gift card. We paid over $105.00/night, would have preferred off bill. The breakfast in AM was good, liked the Dole fruit bowls.

    « Nice Hotel »

    « Clean & Comfortable »

Just an overnight for a family function on Sunday. We got in around 9PM and the receptionist was friendly and professional. The lobby and interior hall was clean as was the elevator. Our room was nicely decorated and comfortable. Great shower. No time for breakfast but I just called the front desk for check-out and left our card keys in the room. Would definitely stay here again and got a great deal being a USAA member.

    « No Hitter »

A weekend trip North Charleston was spoiled with this below average hotel that seems to have been revamped and still in rebuilding mode. The beds are stiff and uncomfortable, the air conditioning unit has to be turned up to 50 degrees for room to cool.Barhroom had no cleaning condiments as most hotels do.

« Close to airport, good value »

We stayed in a suite and it was spacious with separate bedroom and sitting areas both with TV's. The room was clean and quiet. The breakfast was the standard selection and kept well stocked by the attendant. Parking is free. No problems.

    « Very good stay! »

The hotel was very clean, the staff was excellent, friendly and knowledgeable. They offer free breakfasts and there is room service that is offered until 10PM. The room was clean and odor free but the refrigerator didn't work even though it was running and was on the coolest setting so I had to throw away some food that I brought back to the room that I put in it the next morning. It's a very large hotel with many rooms, parking area was well lit at night however I only saw three handicapped parking spaces and I don't feel it's adequate for the number of rooms at the hotel. It's close to the interstate and minutes from the airport and downtown Charleston. Overall experience was great.

« Nice hotel in nice section with other nice hotels »

North Charleston is a little bit away from downtown and beaches, but the hotel is right around the corner from Rte. 26/easy access to get onto it. The hotel is in a nice section with a couple of other lovely hotels (Hyatt and Staybridge, I think). Free parking, lovely lobby with great free breakfast. Welcome party a couple afternoons. Room was large and clean. Bathroom had nice decor/good sized/ceramic tub. Microwave & refrig in room/small coffeemaker. BUT: we stayed in odd-numbered room: the box truck traffic approaching Rte. 26 was very loud and very continual from around 5:30 am to 7:30am.

« The worst front desk ever imaginable »

This was truly a horrifying experience I should have read the reviews before I booked it but I wanted to give Best Western Plus a chance. The front desk was horribly rude and nasty. The ideal customer service is a joke. At that price point is it Hyatt place across the street which I went to in the middle of my stay that is much better. Like the manager told me I didn't matter and it doesn't matter what we say I'm going to do what I want to do anyway trust me do not stay

« So many other choices in area.... »

There are so many other choices in the area at comparable prices that I'm sure will offer better quality. The beds were ROCK HARD, and the overall hotel feels dated. Check In clerk was ver unfriendly and the breakfast is mediocre. If it were cheaper, then it might be worth it - but for the price, it's definitely not worth it.

    « Great budget accommodation »

Best Western Airport Inn Suites offered all that we needed, great price, very clean and the staff went out of their way to make us comfortable and to attend to our queries. The breakfast was along the normal Best western lines and a great way to start the day. While the hotel is a distance from the city centre the drive is easy as the freeway is just up the road. There are several eating options is close proximity to hotel.

    « Excellent Overnight /stay for 10 Day Cruise »

A very large group of family and friends stayed at this beautiful and convenient hotel while we where on a 10 day cruise. The hotel only charged us $20.00/car to park our car for the whole 10 days and their shuttle took us to the Cruise Port for a small fee per person and picked us back up. Plus, a FREE Continental Breakfast is served daily.

« Great experience even while remodeling »

This hotel is very nice and the staff treat you very good. From top to bottom they treated us very well. The breakfast is awesome and hot. It is important to make people feel welcome and they do it easily even though they are remodeling.

    « Completely satisfied »

The check in staff were quick and efficient. They were welcoming and friendly. Our room was perfect...clean and everything in working order. We had no complaints at all about the room. We did take advantage of the breakfast offered the following morning. They had a lot of choices and the staff was helpful when something got low. The dining area was clean and inviting. The location of the hotel was great; close to I-26, restaurants and shopping. No complaints here!

    « Bad Customer Service »

The rooms and the hotel overall was very clean. I'm rating this hotel a one for the staff and lack of good customer service. We had a room booked for 4 adults. When we arrived, only one wash cloth was in the room. When we asked for more, the front desk clerk advised we'd met our quota for the day. When we told her that we only had one, she said that someone must've given our wash cloths to another room. She said she did not have access to the laundry facilities and was unable to give us anymore towels. Then, she proceeded to finish the personal phone call she was on. So 1 wash cloth for 4 adults! Wow! Unbelievable! Total lack of friendliness and customer service. I visit Charleston often, but I will not be returning to this hotel.

    3
    « Average Place »

I was part of a group trip, so I did not personally picked this hotel. The rate was super low and the service was good therefore no complaint. The room were well maintained for the mot part. The hotel is not really conveniently located, so I would not pick it for a vacation but only if I am visiting someone in town or if I have to find a quick place to crash but not for a vacation.

« disappointed in this hotel »

All ratings are poor holes in walls holes in furniture patches of paint and drywall smells I would not recommend this hotel. This is not a well maintained facility as it may appear you can hear everything through the walls Difficult time trying to sleep

« Will not use again! »

The Wi-fi would not connect, the room smelled, and we waited 45 minutes to check in while the ONE clerk was on a phone call. The hotel is under renovation and everything is a mess and smelled bad. I DO NOT RECOMMEND ANYONE'S STAYING THERE.

    « Very clean »

The front desk greeted us let someone they know guy saying they remember seeing our name in the list before check. The hotel was extremely clean and the room was just like what we saw in the internet. When leaving the room fir the day and returning the room was clean and neat just like we first check in.

« High price for low quality »

This was our first time staying here. We stayed 2 nights here and were not impressed with the price for the room. We stayed in the largest 2 queen bed suite offered. The burgundy comforter on the end of the bed had white stains on it upon entering the room. The beds are super hard. Pillows are tiny. The room is very quiet. We gotten woken up every time a train passed by the hotel during the night. The breakfast items were your typical dry cereal, bagels and muffins. We had our 4 children with us. In entering the hallway to go to our room there were signs everywhere that said "Wet Paint". That was a little worrisome but thankfully our children didn't touch. If the price fit our experience then I would have rated it better. We were expecting a lot nicer room/bed with the price paid. We will stay somewhere else next time even if it means paying a little more.

    « Best Stay Ever!!! »

During my check in the front desk rep. was friendly and kept a smile on her face, I had the pleasure of meeting the GM during my check in, she was pleasant and was very sociable.. I believe her name was Cathy. The rooms were beautiful as I can tell everything was brand new ( due renovations) Breakfast was great and Ms. Tausha at check out was wonderful. I would stay again!!!

« Not one of the better Best Westerns »

We stayed here one night after arriving late at the airport on a vacation in Charleston. They assigned us a room on the 4th floor and said the elevator wasn't working and no offer of help with that was offered. We went out for a late dinner and on return found a man who did help get the elevator working. There were not adequate parking spaces and all were now filled but he directed us to a front curb spot that he said would be ok to park in though not really a parking spot. There was lots of interior construction going on in hallways and public areas. Not appealing. We felt that because it was after 10:00 when we arrived and we couldn't get to our 4th floor room someone should have offered to get us something to eat and to carry our bags up but that didn't happen. The man that was on duty at midnight when we returned from a late dinner was very helpful.

    « Decent Stay »

Overall, I had a decent stay at the Best Western PLUS Airport & Suites. The staff was fine, but not overly friendly or helpful. The room was clean and fine. As with many hotels who have the "CLEAN REMOTES" for their televisions, the TV remote didn't work well at all. I wish hotels would just get rid of those remotes. They're usually a big hassle, because many of the buttons rarely work, which significantly effects your ability to find what you want on TV conveniently. Other than that, the experience was positive. If you're looking for a clean simple hotel and are not looking for anything particularly special, this is the hotel for you.

    « Airport Stay - Charleston SC »

This was a last minute booking for a room close to the Charleston Airport. The room was neat and clean and the bathroom was very nice. The front desk staff was friendly and courteous. We didn't really use any of the amenities and there was a breakfast area with a decent selection. There was a fridge, microwave, coffee maker and supplies in the room. Decent sized TV and it was nice and quiet.

    « Awful Experience »

    « Gross!!! »

This had to be the worst hotel I've ever stayed in. Broken elevator, broken printer at front desk, no parking because storage units were in parking places, totally out dated, stained filthy carpet, construction in front lobby, old microwaves/refrigs stored right when you come down to lobby from stairwell. HVAC cover fell off in our hands, no hand soap in dispenser in the room. Need I go on?

    « URINE SOAKED BED »

Issues upon issues at this property. We booked a large room with a pull out sofa for our kids. Upon checking in and getting settled we decided to get the sleeper sofa ready for the kids. My wife opened it up and put her hands directly in a urine soaked mattress. GROSS. We called the front desk and they stated they would send up a new mattress. Somebody came up with a new mattress that looked like it was 15 years old. He pulled off the urine soaked one and we noticed that the urine when the entire way to the frame of the bed. He was like I think it is dry and just tossed the new mattress on top. Needless to say that wasn't going to fly for us. They did "try" to bring a new sleeper sofa into the room, but couldn't figure out how to get the one in the room out. We were in town for a wedding and there was a big race that weekend so there were no other rooms available. After the urine soaked bed issues just kept compounding, outlets didn't work, safe didn't work. Toilet broke, which they did fix, but they left the old broken parts on the bathroom counter. I think overall it could be a nice hotel, but it needs some work to get up to be a "Best Western Plus"

    « 30th Anniversary trip! »

Don't let them put you on the back of the hotel. Otherwise, you'll hear police, ambulance, fire trucks & drag racing cars all night long! So much for a romantic trip! Hotel staff knew from reservation & when I called to confirm reservation on Monday before arrival on Thurs. that this was our 30th Anniversary. Didn't acknowledge in any way during our 3 day stay; very disappointed!! I expected better from a Best Western Plus since we've stayed @ BW's before.

« Cooper River Bridge Run »

I stayed at this hotel for the Cooper River Bridge Run. The hotel staff did a great job of taking care of us. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The rooms and inside of the hotel looks to have been updated recently. Keep up the good work!

    3
    « Just ok »

Stayed here during the Cooper River Bridge Run weekend. Room was decent and clean, but the room AC is very loud, and I'm not a fan of the pump shower gel and shampoo dispensers. They were nice enough to serve breakfast at 4 am on the morning of the bridge run, but when we went down at 5:30, there was no coffee, no juice, no water, and no utensils! The desk clerk was EXTREMELY rude when we asked him to help us with some water and utensils, telling us it "wasn't really his job" but since he was the only employee there, I'm not sure whose job it was! Other than that, we had a decent stay.

    « Pretty decent »

Nice, clean place. Water in the pool could be cleaner but it's warm. Breakfast is ok, pretty much typical hotel breakfast. Rooms are clean and bathrooms too. Little bit annoyed by the soap and shampoo dispensers. Give you tiny amount and you have to work hard to get enough.

« You can do much better »

A friend and I stayed at his hotel during the last week of February 2016. We planned to explore other parts of SC, and then return to this property on March 4th. While staying during Feb. 26th through Feb. 29th, there was hotel renovation going on, which caused much dust and excess noise and re-routing to the elevator. We were given a room on an upper floor, which necessitated us using the elevator which reeked of mold or mildew. I am extremely allergic to mold, and have been ill ever since with sinus and bronchial infections. While checking out, we advised the desk clerk that we wished to cancel a previously made reservation for March 4, 2016. She apparently never entered this information,, and my credit card has now been billed for that night. I have made several attempts to discuss this with the hotel, but it seems that whenever I call, there is no one available to deal with my concerns. I was promised a callback for the morning of 3/29/16, however it never happened. Since the management seems uninterested in doing any due diligence in resolving the issue, I have had to refer it to my credit card company. I would not stay there again.

This hotel is close to everything & front desk staff was great with suggesting a good place to eat **Nigels** The young lady in the breakfast area was nice checking to make sure everyone had enough before she took up items at the end of breakfast.

Well here they have the indoor pool and the pool is really nice. They also have a really good breakfast as well. THen when you get in your nice clean room it is like wow. The beds are really soft and comfortable. So I would DEFINITELY recommend this hotel to a friend.

« Good except don't use the pool »

Food was good, nice to get a hot breakfast with several options. Room was clean, water hot, pillows great. Pool had way too much chlorine, ruined my child's swim suit and had to medicate her with Benadryl and eye drops.

    « Front Desk Staff - Rude »

Front desk staff was on the phone during both check in and check out with her "peeps." Made us feel like we were bothering her when we checked in / out / asked questions. Calls to front desk were not answered.

« Great place for a short stop over »

I had an early flight the next morning and was able to book this hotel which was only a ten minute drive away. They offer airport-shuttle service and had a nice hot breakfast when we woke up. Can't complain.

« Great Hotel for the Price »

I frequent Charleston for my son's hockey games. They are on Friday nights, and can't drive back to Greenville that late. For the price I paid, this hotel was great, spotless, and prob had been updated since I stayed there 2 years ago. Bed very comfortable. Great hotel for the price. The breakfast was typical eggs and sausage, waffles, and continental.

    « Nice hotel »

There was an issue with the way I was charged for 2 rooms I booked. 2 charges were held on my card and I was told when the party I was with paid with their card the 2nd hold would fall off. I will told this 3 DIFFERENT TIMES. I ended up paying for both rooms. Their card was swiped for incidentals only. Other than this, we very much enjoyed the hotel.

    « Check in »

We tried to check in around 4pm but was told our room was not ready. We finally got to our room around 530pm. Very disappointing. We had dinner plans but not being able to get into our room on time gave us very little time to get ready. Love the city and the location was great but I don't think I will stay here again.

« Room: Appalling, Management: Unprofessional »

I had a lot of problems with my room. First, the AC/Heater did not work properly. I turned the heater on (it was in the 40's outside), but after 30 minutes, the temperature of the room stayed the same. I even left it off for another 30 minutes, then turned it back on. Still did not work. I found spiders in the bathroom while using it. Finding these spiders prompted me to check the bed for bedbugs. I didn't find bedbugs, but what I found shocked me: my first bed (of a 2-bed room) had blood stains on the bottom mattress cover. Checking other other bed, I found a huge urine stain. I took pictures of these and informed the management immediately. After looking at my pictures, she offered me another room. Of course, I checked the beds of my next room and found one large urine stain on one bed, and another large urine stain on the other. Needless to say, I'm appalled at this lack of attention from the housekeeping and management staff. My co-workers and I (all 5 of us) checked out the next morning. When we approached the front desk, the manager and the housekeeping staff were joking about the situation, mentioning that it was only a coffee stain and not a blood stain (by the way, I've spilled coffee on many clothes that never stained such as this). No mention of the urine stain though! The manager gave a mild apology and another manager offered me a $50 Best Western hotel card. They both seemed reluctant about this offer and half-sincere. Although I took pictures of the second bedroom, I didn't present them to the management due to their nonchalant attitudes to the situation. My co-workers had similar urine stain findings. I've stayed at many Best Westerns and am a rewards member. Though, I'm not choosing Best Western in the future for personal stays and will strongly suggest to my company (they spend tens of millions in travel a year) that they drop Best Western as a hotel option. The situation was bad, the way it was handled made it worse. Oh, did I mention the management was watching a reality show (turned up loudly) in the lobby while we--and other--guests were checking in during the day? No standard of cleanliness and unprofessional.

    « Best Western »

As I described in my previous comments Enriqua, Tootie and Cathy put the BEST in Best Western. Always going out of their ways to make sure our stay was outstanding. From Enriqua infectious smile to Tootie humming and singing while we had breakfast. And the same positive attitude from Cathy who must lead by example. Obvious you work with me and not for me! Thanks to ALL at the North Charleston Best Western for making our stay the BEST. Enriqua, Tootie and Cathy deserve some special rewards and recognition and I HOPE tghey get it.

Due to the recent snowstorm, American Airlines rerouted us through another city. We gave over 24-hours notice to Best Western that we were cancelling our reservation, and they still kept all of our money.

    « Very nice! »

From the looks of the room, it has been recently renovated. The room looked fantastic and the bed and pillows were very comfortable. Even though this property was near the airport, noise was not an issue here. Staff was very courteous and helpful. The location is very convenient for North Charleston. The only negative was that the breakfast ends at 9:00 am compared to 10:00 am at the other area hotels. I slept til 9 so obviously I missed it. It wasn't a deal breaker though and will seriously consider this property again if I come back to the area.

    « Multiple Stays, Awesome »

I've stayed at this property on multiple occasions. Always very clean, check-in staff very accomodating, On my most recent stay, I was put on the first floor, and I was woken multiple times throughout the night by screaming children, and some others loud noises I couldn't make out. It didn't bother me too much, I'm a heavy sleeper. I spent most of the daytime inside of my room, and the staff outside in the hallway were EXTREMELY loud. The indoor pool is amazing, especially during the Winter months.

    « Indoor Pool »

My main consideration for staying at this particular hotel in Charleston is the indoor pool, but the hotel is very nice . Location and parking can be problematic . The breakfast is good, did not use any other amenities .

    « Great Stay »

It was quiet, clean and very comfortable. Ok for families, Good service and complimentary breakfast. Close to the airport. Overall a great value. It has a small indoor pool. Attractions Magnolia Plantation & Gardens and Drayton Hall are 20 mins drive from this Hotel.

    « Excellent hotel »

The night before I stayed at this hotel, I spent at the Best Western in Greensboro, NC. At that location, I had to sign a waver stating I would pay for any damage to the tub with jets. It was not a full sixed whirlpool. I also has to sign a waver stating I would pay damage if I smoked in the room. They also wanted a credit card for incidentals. None of this was required at this location and the room was probably the best I've ever stayed in.

    « Clean and Comfortable »

I stayed here in December, 2015. This hotel was more than I expected. I feel the price was very affordable. It was extremely clean and the staff was always helpful and friendly. It's also a short drive to/from the airport and major shopping. I would definitely stay here again.

Good location. Housekeeping service was poor. We arrived the night before Thanksgiving Day so there were signs posted that there would be no Housekeeping service Thanksgiving day. On the day after Thanksgiving Friday , we expected housekeeping and had to call twice before they came finally around 6pm. On the Saturday we left for day outing and got back at 7pm to find that housekeeping came in n only picked up the dirty linen but let no clean linen, the beds were not made and the trash was not emptied and the bathroom was not cleaned! Very disappointing we had go go get fresh linen ourselves and empty out own trash...

« Nice hotel but shuttle starts late »

This is a lovely, clean hotel with a gracious staff. However, we specifically booked it because it had a free airport shuttle and then found out it doesn't start until 7am (We needed to leave by 6am.) It cost $25 to take a taxi. We have stayed at many hotels that start their shuttle service at 6am and had assumed this one would too. Otherwise, great place.

    « Indoor pool . »

The indoor pool is my main consideration, but the Hotel is nice, staff friendly, breakfast is good, location is good, parking is problematic . Very few hotels in Charleston have indoor pools. Price is seasonable, wish they would offer a more stable rate for frequent customers .

    « Very unhappy »

The location was good with lots of things to do. I was actually surprised at how far the airport seemed from here. Once my wife got our key to our room, we opened the door and to our surprise, their were towels on he floor and the bed not made up. Housekeeping did no have this room on their list to clean so I am thinking it may have been occupied at the time of our arrival. Or he guest clerk made an error. So they gave us another key for another room. We struggled all night with getting cool as the a/c seemed to not work. As I was leaving to check out, we overheard another couple liking about the a/c and how the staff brought them 2 small a/c units to use for the night. I was apologized to bu no discount was given or anything else.

    « Veterans Day 2015 »

Nov 11/12. We got a great rate and the room was grt. Over all facility was clean and well cared for. The TV was new but the remote did not work. Immediately the maintenance guy was at the door and had it fixed in less than a min. None of the dispensers in the bath worked but appeared to be full. I brought my own so I was good. The staff were excellent and breakfast was good with grt variety. IHOP & CB within walking distance of the parking lot. Numerous eateries within 2 mile radius. Indoor heated pool small workout room coin_op wash/dryers Dislikes: dispensers in the bath were full but didn't work. recycle for cans, etc could have been marked better as people were throwing their trash in them, not everyone understands the colors. Found a used bar of soap in my shower. Didn't appear to have eco for linens or towels. Used to leaving something on the bed to indicate bed linens do not need to be chg'd. Leave dirty towels on floor and they will be replaced. HVAC didn't have a 'fan only' mode. Only worked when the heat or AC was on. Forgot my personal fan so was a bit chilly trying to keep air moving in the room. BEST thing here THE STAFF! They were always happy greeters conversed with their clients. Glad to help you with directions and recommendations for site seeing! I would stay here again!!

    « Unpleasant Surprises »

This hotel looks okay, and the staff was not rude. However, they offered no apology, discount, or any explanation when we found someone else's underwear behind the pillows as we were exhausted and heading to bed at 1am. Lovely. There was also a Danish and a fork on a napkin on the TV stand when we entered the room. The fridges was almost impossible to close and was dangerously unbalanced. Missing a foot on the front, it would list wildly as you repeatedly had to slam it, and the microwave perched on top would fly around.

« NIce stay in North Charleston »

Clean and comfortable room. Staff was very friendly and courteous. Breakfast was not great but standard fare for a hotel in this price point. I did not like having no bar soap, only liquid soap at the sink and shower gel in the shower. I didn't ask if bar soap was available since stay was only two nights.

« GOOD HOTEL BUT NOT THE PLUS I EXPECT »

Had a taekwondo conference in N. Charleston. as I have come to enjoy staying the best western PLUS's, I figured my experience here would have been on par with others I've stayed at. while I have nothing specific to complain about, it was not the PLUS that I have come to expect. The rooms are fine, the indoor pool was heated, but with the AC on in the pool room, if you didn't stay in the water, you were FREEZING. Breakfast was fine but not as above-standard as other BW Plus hotels I've stayed at. I found the beds to be a little too uncomfortable and they did not live up to the PLUS accommodations I've experienced in the past. The rooms were as normal as other hotels, where other BW Plus hotels I've stayed at seem to be a bit bigger with a few more amenities. I would stay again, but if I can find a better rate somewhere else, I'd do that as I would not be receiving the PLUS advantages by staying here.

« Wish I could have stayed longer »

We arrived late and had to leave early the next morning as we were in North Charleston to do "disaster relief". Our room was large, had 2 beds with a sofa and chair in a separate area. Would have been a nice room in which to spend some time relaxing.

    « Surprise »

Most of the time airport hotels are too busy for personal service. Not this one. The entire staff made us feel imortant and the room (suite) was nicely furnished and very clean. They even accomodate an early shuttle to the airport so we made our early flight with no rush. The breakfast very good and the lady who kept it going did an outstanding job.

    « A great weekend getaway! »

The service was exceptional, our room was nice and bed was cozy, the bathroom was nice and clean and we had more than enough towels. The location is about a 10 minute ride from the airport - while I was looking for a hotel closer to the airport, I'm glad I choose this hotel. This hotel was close to many restaurants and stores - we found an inside mall, Walmart, etc - the most important thing for me when traveling is customer service and when we walked in I could feel it - Kenya was professional, courteous, helpful w/pointing out things to do in the area and warning us where we should not go due to the storm the previous weekend. The highlight was when the manager on duty Cathy came out to greet us and I understood then that this was a great team she too was professional, courteous and helpful. Each morning we left we were greeted by different front desk staff member,, one night we came in and Cathy was greeting us - I thought to myself again kudos to you for leading by example, rolling up your sleeves and jumping in where necessary. The breakfast was decent, I prefer bacon, but I enjoyed the waffles and sausage w/a little piece of an omelet. When I'm back in Charleston, SC this Best Western will be my preferred home away from home because of the location, friendliness of the staff and because it was the BEST to me!!! Excellence is expected, but doing the BEST you can is just as important! Thank you Best Western for adding to a great weekend getaway

    « Big Bug »

About 11:30 at night, I feel a strange feeling on my arm. It was kind of creepy. So, I woke up and tried to figure out what it was. When I opened my eyes, it turned out the most terrible experience in my life. I saw an extremely huge bug crawling on my arm. I would never forget how horrible that night was. I jumped off from my bed quickly and used a plastic cup to capture it. I was so upset. I did not know what I was paying for. A scary night? If I wanted a scary night, why did I pay so much for that? Anyways, I called the front desk, and they were saying that they would call the manger. However, I did not think they did because I did not get any response from the hotel after that. They did not even know if that bug was toxic or not because they did not ask. I don't think they care. What if the bug bit me? It is alright that sometimes a little just comes up. What makes me really upset is their attitude. They did not take any consequence even after I left the hotel. I would definitely not recommend this hotel if you are finding a place to stay!!

    « overnight stay »

Arrived into Charleston late, stayed overnight and drove to another city, Savannah, the next day. Shuttle service from airport was primary reason for stay and shuttle service back to airport the next day to pickup rental car. Just needed a place to lay head for overnight that was reasonable and efficient.

« Very Disappointed, Would Not Recommend »

I booked this hotel because it stated that it was airport location & had free shuttle service to & from the airport. We were arriving late to Charleston & the rental car places were all closed, so wanted a location for just one night that was close to the airport with shuttle service. I knew we were be arriving late so I called the hotel ahead of time & told them of our arrival time. When I asked about the shuttle pick-up, I was told that it stopped at 11;00, our flight was arriving at 11:20, but that the shuttle driver would wait for us. We arrived at 11:15, I called the hotel & was told that the driver had to leave at 11:16 & that we would have to get a taxi & pay for it. The next morning I spoke with the manager, Cathy Cuttino, who was very rude & basically implied that I was lying about the information that I was given by the hotel. I would not consider this hotel to be an "airport" location, is quite a distant from the airport. The website should also state the hours of shuttle operation, Had I known that there was no shuttle service, I would have booked another hotel. I also don't believe in paying for a service where my business is not valued & I am spoken to rudely.

    « A little disappointed »

Room was fine. I booked the suite 2 queen beds with a pull out couch. All was fine until the morning we left. We had a flight at 5 am so we left the hotel at 3 am. I told the receptionist at check in I would be paying cash. Upon check out the gentleman, who was very nice, was not aware that I was paying cash so I had to put it on my credit card. The hotel seemed disorganized. There were drunk guys hanging out and smoking in front of the front door. Also as we were leaving in the morning we discovered there were palmetto bugs in our room (cockroaches)!

    « It was a nice place »

I stayed here for one night after a flight in to Charleston. I was there from about midnight to 9 AM. They have a very nice, but simple, breakfast in the morning, 6 - 9 AM. The scrambled eggs and sausage was excellent. They also had waffles, toast, assorted muffins, and a few types of cereal. It was better than most I've had in a hotel!

    « Pretty Pleased »

My experience was pleasant other than not being granted a late check out, which I contributed to waiting too late to request. Totally my fault. I would definitely stay again and recommend this property to family and friends.
