"Beautiful, Clean, Friendly Staff"

From the time we checked in to the time we checked out everything was perfect. Our suite was a very clean, tasteful huge room. The Jacuzzi tub was fantastic! I have already recommended this location to several of my work mates.

"My go to place in the Skagit Valley"

5
13/12/2018

I definitely recommend this hotel. Be aware it is somewhat hidden away among stores and other hotels. It is located a few blocks behind the Safeway which seems to be a landmark in the area. The entry is inviting, the staff is friendly and helpful, the prices are acceptable, the rooms are nicely appointed and spacious enough and the breakfast is substantial. The indoor pool, spa and workout room are worth a visit.

"Best Breakfast ever -- Hotel was also as exceptional!"

12/12/2018

Great place to stay. Cookies in the afternoon were super -- of course fruit and coffee was always available. Breakfast was fabulous -- fresh and moist scrambled eggs, just right oat meal, coffee was super. I have stayed at many Best Westerns all over the country -- this one is the best of them all including all other Hotels. PS Dragon Chinese next to the bowling alley as great food.

"Great value, exceptional front desk staff"

The online reviews were very positive so I booked a last minute one-night stay for an unexpected trip. The staff was so helpful, professional and accommodating. The rooms were very spacious, comfy beds and a full hot breakfast. Really great value for the low rate I paid.

"Excellent hotel"

This hotel is actually the best place in the area. Close to the ferry and the Everett mall. Taron is the best agent and I think he ought to teach the class on being a good hotel agent. Overall I highly recommend this hotel!

Enjoyable stay. The rooms were large, clean and pleasant. The breakfast was very good with many choices. The rugs could do with a little update but they were clean. The air conditioner was quite loud and cycled on and off alot. Staff very pleasant and helpful. We would stay here again.

"Impressive complimentary continental breakfast."

05/11/2018

We had a very positive stay at this hotel. Front desk staff for check-in/check-out were exceptional. Short drive to quaint old downtown Mount Vernon and walk along river trail. Only problem we had was the restaurant associated with the hotel (outside across walkway) was not open at 4:30 on Sunday. Continental breakfast was very impressive!

"Business Trip"

18/10/2018

The check in was easy and very nice staff. Room was large , clean and beds were great. Breakfast the next morning was quite big. Eggs, sausage, toast or bagel with butter, jam, cream cheese. Hard boil eggs, Oatmeal and all the fixes, Coffee, juice tea and water. Check out was not a great experience I said hello and the person behind the counter put up her finger in my face not to speak. Very, very rude. It kind of ruined all the good parts.

"Horrible uncomfortable stay, and even worse customer service."

Now I TRIED posting this review on Expedia - but what do you know...my review never got posted. When I called Expedia several times I kept getting the run around. Seems like they don't like it when people post negative reviews. Now about the hotel: Room was awful. The TV kept shutting off, the toilet kept running the whole time we were there and the fridge compressor kept turning on and off. We both had a hard time sleeping.Room w The most shocking part of our stay there was a dirty used facecloth hanging on the top of the shower pole. YUCK! We only noticed when we both took showers in the morning, or else I would have asked to change rooms. Not a pleasant experience. I mentioned the above to the lady (different than the 1st nice one) when I checked out. She said "It's too bad you booked with Expedia or else I would have given you a discount". Wow...thanks. So glad I spent $171 on that. No apology or anything. So disappointed, we were looking forward to this trip. Expedia contacted this hotel on my behalf after hearing about the awful experience I had (after many phone calls) and the manager "Ben" refused to offer ANY kind of compensation because it was "so long ago". Funny I originally complained only two weeks after my stay. Horrendous customer service.

pretty standard for a best western plus, could use a few improvements, but overall we usually stay here and have a good experience. will stay there again when we travel....would like some better choices in the breakfast room....

This is a very convenient hotel located in the heart of Mr. Vernon. It is attractive and has all of the amenities would could expect. There is 24 hour coffee in the lobby, the provided breakfast has both hot and dry offering in abundance, the staff is efficient and friendly, very hard to beat for the price

"Total 5-Star Experience "

18/09/2018

Let me begin by saying that I am Best Western Rewards member, Platinum Level. That means I am very familiar with BWs and have a basis of comparison. That said, the Best Western Plus Skagit Valley Inn is everything a BW Plus is should be. Unfortunately, I can't say that for all BWPs. This one shines! The parking is easy, the lobby and front desk staff (Taron, in my case) is welcoming and and very helpful, the room is clean, spacious and well laid out, the bed and pillows are very comfortable. Overall, the room was quiet and relaxing. The complimentaey breakfast was great. The hot food was hot and the cold food was cold. That's not always the case. They had everything from oatmeal to biscuits and gravy, as well as all the other regular items you would expect. This was an excellent experience and a quality BWP location. 5-Star all the way!

"Staff was friendly, room was not clean!"

(Originally wrote this review for the wrong hotel but now this is the correct one) Reserved a room for one night for business, upon check in the line was quite long but the wait wasn't too terrible. Lobby has fresh baked cookies and snacks to keep happy. The gentleman at the counter apologized for the wait a few times; it was only him checking people in and there was another staff member there who wouldn't look up at the growing line in front of her, but kept busy on the computer and darted away once she saw the line was thinning. The man made a couple jokes and heartedly made us laugh as I got checked in quickly and promptly given the information about WiFi and breakfast. The hallway ceilings on the third were very vaulted and i almost expected the same ceilings in the room, sadly opening the door to reveal normal ceilings but a very spacious room. Nice to have a fridge and microwave. But bad things outweighed the good in this room. Removal of the thick cream comforter revealed the underside had some nasty stains of different colors and sizes, and the thicker sheet under that also had some stains closer towards the bottom of the bed. There was no mattress protector or any encasement on the bed, only a very old and ratty fleece blanket that was like the ones I used when I was a CNA working with older people who wet the bed. The fleece blanket was smaller than the king bed and positioned in the middle of the bed, creating an uncomfortable line on the sides on the bed. There was a wall thermostat in my room, when I tried to turn it on there was nothing on the screen so I called to the front desk asking how to operate it or if there was a trick. The person told me that it doesn't work and that the air is controlled by the unit under the window. That's all fine with me but it's pointless to put a thermostat on the wall if it's not even going to work. Flies on the window sill were pretty much the last straw for cleanliness. When the maids don't even wipe the sill, what else don't they clean?

"No warm water! refused to refund money or return calls!"

02/09/2018

No warm water to shower! refused to refund money or return my calls! I would give zero stars, but it's not an option. After a day of hiking and getting filthy, I attempted to shower but there was no hot water. The desk staff said they knew, and there likely wouldn't be any in the morning either. It was already late at night and switching hotels was not an option. The desk staff said only a manager could refund my money and they were gone till the morning. The next morning, the manager said only the owner could refund the money and she was gone. She (Kay Lee) refused to call me back after I left her 3 messages. I got no sleep that night and was itchy and filthy until I could check into another hotel the next afternoon. I will NEVER stay at another Best Western again!

I recently spent a few nights at this hotel. As a business owner of 2 businesses, I notice presentation and curb appeal immediately. As soon as I drove up and entered the building I noticed how clean the steps were coming into the building along with the bench and what appeared today boot covers for any blue collar workers who may have muddy shoes. I was warmly greeted by Taron? (Sorry if I misspelled it) His big smile and warm personality one be over immediately. Here was very pleasant and promised me good I would be pleased with the stay at that hotel. We joked about the traffic, and honestly, I could have chatted all night with him! The last night I was there I stop by the task and asked him when check out was. He offered to extend mine if need be, but I was very excited to hear that the check out that day was 12 noon. Housekeeping staff were very sweet and did a fabulous job!! Along with their continental breakfast, the kitchen worker buzzed around the room making sure that everything was clean and tidy along with being stocked up. In the past 2 weeks I have been on the East Coast, mid-south and West coast. This hotel hotel even beat the Hyatt Regency in Austin Texas! (And I was absolutely thrilled with my stay there!!) Thank you for taking pride in your hotel!! It shows with your staff and appearance of the hotel!!

"Spacious rooms!"

26/08/2018

We were pleasantly surprised to find this hotel well managed, attractively decorated, clean and with lots of space in hallways and rooms. They offer a decent buffet breakfast and the opportunity of using the outdoor pool or the hot pool in neighboring health business. Staff were professional and friendly. Thanks you.

"Nice hotel"

21/08/2018

Nice hotel in Mount Vernon. First room smelled like cigarette smoke. We were moved to another room on the same floor that was fine. Breakfast was so so and I had to wait for coffee. Outdoor pool was across the parking lot. We got a pass to an athletic club on the other side of the parking lot. That was way better than the typical cheap exercise room. Will stay here again for the tulip festival to workout at the gym again.

"Comfy and Close to Shopping"

4
21/08/2018

Hotel was great, close to shopping and the staff was very friendly and helpful. It was little tricky getting into the hotel parking lot as it's only one way off the main road. We did not use the pool, etc. But the outdoor pool/patio area was very well kept.

"Totally adequate"

Looking for a place to stay between Vancouver and Seattle. Price was right. Restaurant next door was good. Industrial area. Nice laundry facilities. Near a train line. Basic cable television. Standard BW breakfast.

Comfortable, fast, clean describes it best. It has angood restaurant and bar. Provides breakfast. What else do u need in a mid range hotel. Nice location. Very close to market and ahopping if you need any thing plus the highway, yet silent. I would highly recommend this, with or without family

This Hotel is a decent place for the price. Not the greatest location but for a quick stop for the night it is sufficient. The manager for this hotel was very friendly and helpful. Did not get a chance to use the pool. Breakfast could be better.

31/07/2018

We were completely dissatisfied with this Best Western. We had a change in plans, asked to check out early, and was told by the ONLY person manning the desk that she could not check us out, that only the manager could do that and he that day was his day off. We left without checking out, and pan to dispute any charges for nights we were not there.

"Thought it would be Good- Better Than Expected"

25/07/2018

We booked a room at this hotel at the last minute for visits to Deception Pass, North Cascades NP, and rafting activities in Glacier. I expected the hotel to be good but was pleasantly surprised. The staff was friendly and professional, the hotel lobby & rooms were clean and in good condition and the room was huge! I was really impressed by the size of the room that included a sink/mirror area that was separated from the toilet/shower area. There was even a small sink in the room. The breakfast that was included in the price was also good as was the coffee that was available in the lobby. This place was a nice place at a good price in a good location and I recommend it highly.

"Great Staff, great value for price!"

19/07/2018

Staff was great throughout our stay, housekeeping kept the room clean for 6 days. When we checked in at 430 in the morning we found thoughtfully placed snack baskets in our rooms. Breakfast room is new and clean, love the waffles and bacon!!!

"Very Nice Hotel! Very Large Rooms!"

5
18/07/2018

We spent one night here on our Pacific Northwest road trip. Best Western is our hotel of choice. This Best Western was very large and very nice. The check-in experience was quick and easy. The woman at the front desk was very nice. Our room was on the third floor. You could have a party in the hallway. It was wide, long and had a really high ceiling. It was very grand. The room was very clean and very large. The shower and the toilet were in a separate room with a sink outside which is always very convenient. Additionally in the room there was a counter that must have been 10' long with another sink. There was a fridge and a microwave in the room. Very nice room! The breakfast room was on the 1st floor off the lobby. It was the typical Best Western breakfast fare. The breakfast area was very clean. There was plenty of seating and the food was nicely presented. Very pleased with this hotel.

"Great value and location!"

We're in town for the 24th Annual Skagit Firecracker Tournament and we stayed at this BW+ for that weekend. Check in was simple and fast. The front desk staff are quite friendly and nice. Tons of parking spots around the property. The lobby is quite nice but the rest of the Inn is quite dated, including the rooms. We got a 2 queen room and it's quite clean but there's a old musky smell as soon as we entered. The bathroom is ok. We like that the sink is separate from the toilet and shower. And they have dispensers for body wash, shampoo, and conditioner instead of a tiny little soap nugget to share with a fam of 4. And there's another counter with a second sink. The room comes with a microwave and fridge but don't rely on the tiny freezer-our ice cream turned into a milkshake the next day. The bed is quite nice-not too soft with ok firmness. The breakfast fare is adequate -- scrambled eggs, bacon, breakfast sausages, cereals, bagels, fruits, coffee, milk, yogurt, and a waffle station and hard boiled eggs (cold). There's no gym on-site but you can get a free pass from front desk to the health club next door. Unfortunately, the pool was being renovated so we didn't get a chance to use it. Overall, this BW+ is ok. Location is great--within 10-15 minutes to groceries, shopping, and restos and food--especially getting to and fro Skagit River Park for a sporting event. Oh, I just remembered, the AC unit in our room drove me nuts! I don't know if it's just this or every unit is like this but it wouldn't stay on despite setting it to manual. Whether the room is warm, hot, or cold, it turns on and off on its own. NOT COOL especially after coming back from a long hot day out on the field--no pun intended.

"Great service and location; usual Best Western quality"

09/07/2018

Stayed in a room with king bed while visiting our daughter. This hotel maintains the high Best Western quality - very clean rooms, comfortable bed and friendly service staff. Free breakfast was good and very popular. The only drawback was (infrequent) distant train traffic over night.

20/06/2018

When I arrived at this hotel, I was impressed. The people at the check in desk were friendly and very helpful. The lobby looked new and clean. My room was very similar with clean, new furnishings. My room was also very big, which was great. The only dark spot in the room was the bathroom, which had signs of wear and age. Despite that, I was very happy with my room. Clean, comfortable bed, and relatively new looking. Unfortunately, the hotel is positioned very close to the train tracks. During the day I didn't notice the noise, but at night it was impossible not to. Trains blew their loud horns all night long, keeping me up for much of it. Of course the trains aren't the hotels fault, but I noticed that the window in my room was not very soundproof at all. I could hear conversations, footsteps, birds chirping and of course the train horn right through my window. If it weren't for the noise, I would highly recommend this hotel, but if you're a light sleeper I would suggest you stay somewhere farther from the train tracks. Alternatively, you could bring earplugs, but I'm not sure if even that could block out the noise.

"Great Bang for the Buck"

Great Location if you are going Whale Watching , Only 30 minutes from Anacortes. Hotel was Clean and the Staff were very helpful and friendly. Included Breakfast (Free) was one of the best I have had while traveling Market Street Bistro, next door had Great and reasonable priced foods and drinks. They have complete Bar, and we ate there the three nights we stayed at hotel.

"unpleasant room"

2
04/06/2018

At check in the woman at front desk was very friendly and helpful. The room was a disappointment. Had weird odor, there were random clanging noises in the night. The bed sagged in the middle and had rock hard pillows. The hotel did not match the website in terms of amenities. Website shows a picture of a bar and restaurant onsite, which impacted my decision to stay. There is no restaurant or bar. Other than the friendly woman at check in, the rest of the staff appeared annoyed by the presence of guests.

Front D, Front Office Manager at Best Western Plus Skagit Valley Inn and Convention Center, responded to this review
Hi Betsey C, I would like to hear more about your stay, and maybe address some of the issues you had with your room. I am also concerned that you are under the impression that we do not have a restaurant or bar, we absolutely do, it is located in the hotel's convention center directly in front of our main building entrance. Overall, I am sorry that you did not enjoy your stay. I hope that if you are ever in the area, you will allow us the opportunity to change your opinion of the hotel. If I can personally be of any assistance, please contact me here at the hotel. Thank you. Taron T. "Very large rooms"

20/04/2018

Probably not considered a suite, but it did have a sofa and lots of room. Outside the bathroom sink area, was another sink. Comfortable bed, quiet room and very helpful staff. Lots of places to eat nearby and a Walmart down the street. Decent breakfast. I would definitely stay again.

"Quietly Elegant Euro-Style ~~!!"

06/04/2018

Rarely does a chain hotel excel to the extent of a rave review . . . though the lady ownership of this one really accomplishes a fine caliber indeed~~! A few weeks prior to scheduled cancer surgery, I drove to Mt. Vernon to explore which hotel might suit for a two night stay . . . On arrival, was cheerfully greeted by Tia, at the front desk. She kindly showed me around, and I chose a wonderful room on the top floor. She booked it for me, and also indicated she would be on duty the afternoon of arrival. Her personal kindness, interest and style impressed immediately, and I relaxed a bit about the unfortunate reason for the visit later. During our tour, I noted lovely 20' high ceilings, long hanging fixtures, wide hallways, exquisite floral and furniture arrangements, cleanliness everywhere, and deeply recessed entry doors to the rooms. Quiet elegance . . . inviting style for the older age of this facility, though updated nicely! The rooms are large and well appointed, also. Ample free parking, and their new Bistro is close to opening, which will be a great benefit, especially for guests who wish to dine nearby. Sorry to have missed that. The office has an array of on site security cameras, to watch over the premises 24/7. Nice! Linens are ample and clean; lots of pillows on the beds! Abundant ablution supplies, also, such as body soap, shampoo and conditioners mounted in the shower/tub, and wrapped soap at the sink. Refrigerator, microwave, coffee and maker, large counter and sink in the bedroom; handy for making drinks and bringing along your own food, if wanted. Home away from home . . . large Samsung TV with Comcast service, also. Didn't much enjoy the medical reason for being here, but cannot overly-praise this wonderful hotel. Didn't get to meet Kae, the owner, though managed a glimpse of her flitting about, ensuring things were running smoothly! Her 'hands-on' involvement clearly show throughout~~!! At check out, Macy surprised me with a 'for the drive home' bag, with fruit, chocolate mints and water, along with a personal, hand-written thank you from her on the bottom of the billing statement; a first indeed for me, after decades of travel and hotel living! Thank you deeply, both 'people' and 'place' for ensuring such comfort and kindness during what was otherwise a rather stressful visit to Mt. Vernon!

"Too close to the tracks"

4
31/03/2018

A great hotel at a fantastic price, but not very good for light sleepers. The room was very well appointed and included a 'fridge and a microwave. The Air Conditioning worked well, and the bathroom too. The was an internet outage during the stay, but that was not the fault of the hotel. The only drawback was the sleep quality - the mattress and pillows were unsupportive, and the noise of train horns could be heard throughout the night from the nearby railroad tracks. The trains can be heard all night long even with the window shut. The staff were great and the complimentary breakfast was great.

Although the hotel was clean ,staff very friendly and room spacious.our room had a very musty smell from the moment we walked in and then later the musty smell wore off replaced by a smell of vomit. ....Breakfast was ok,there was no creamer or milk . Apple juice tasted old. Would stay

Front D, Front Office Manager at Best Western Plus Skagit Valley Inn and Convention Center, responded to this review
Jeremy, thank you for your time in leaving your review. I sincerely apologize and must say this is highly unusual ~ we have already advised maintenance of the issue. Regarding breakfast, I do apologize for the creamer and milk being out. Please feel free to let us know as soon as possible so we can get the items missing re-stocked for you and all our guests. We will also look into the apple juice as well. We are glad to hear you would stay with us again, as we like to provide all of our guests with superior service...and we have some work to do! Stayed one night on way home from a long drive and were delighted with the whole experience from check in, room amenities and comfort, and breakfast. We will definitely stay there again. Gorgeous bouquet of tulips in the lobby put the finishing touch on very tasteful decorating.

We booked the Booking.com and it said pets were allowed. When we got there the RUDE lady at the front handled the situation completely wrong from the get go. Was so rude about the pet issue saying she was going to "call booking.com right now" instead of help the two people standing at her counter first. Then when we resolved the dog issue by calling family and having our dog stay with them, she called up to our room and asked about our daughter? Something about they had to know who exactly was in the room and it didn't say we had a child but one of their employees saw us walking in with our daughter. Yeah okay so what, yes we have our daughter with us. It then went into the dog again, "they will charge us if the dog is in the room" she then said "I'm not going to loose my job over a dog" Mind you OUR DOG WAS IN THE CAR UNTIL WE WERE READY TO GO. WE HAD TO BATH OUR DAUGHTER IN THE HOTEL ROOM FIRST!!!!! She called again and I lost it, went down to talk to her and she again handled the situation completely wrong. Lied and told me she was the manager and the only person I could talk to. I told her if she wasn't going to stop harassing us we would just check out right now. So she proceeded to start that process. The worst service I've EVER experienced. Never got a return call from the manager,, probably because the rude lady never passed on the messages. Will never ever stay here and I tell this story to everyone I know.

Front D, Front Office Manager at Best Western Plus Skagit Valley Inn and Convention Center, responded to this review
Dear Sarahbbop, Thank you for taking the time to review your experience. Although this incident was in November of 2016, and took some investigative work, we were able to locate the record of your stay. Since 2016, our training has changed and our staff has rotated quite a few times, in addition, there is no one currently on staff that was employed here at that time. Your Booking.com reservation was made just after our hotel had transitioned from being a pet friendly to a non-pet friendly property. "Quick weekend trip, great hotel."

My husband and I stayed for two nights recently as I was in town for a business trip. We checked in fairly late on a Friday night, and the lady at the front desk (I believe she was the manager or supervisor) was so sweet to us. She made the check in so quick and easy. This place has an above average free breakfast - lots of hot items to choose from; eggs, sausage, waffles, biscuits & gravy, yogurt, hard boiled eggs, cottage cheese, cereals, breads, muffins, fruit, juice, coffee, milk...very impressive! I feel this really adds value when a hotel has a good breakfast. Beds were extremely comfortable, just what we needed after a long drive. We didn't make it over to the health/fitness club that guests have access to next door, but I wish we would have, looks like there was lots of amenities to take advantage of there. Overall, and excellent stay and we would be happy to stay there again!

Front D, Front Office Manager at Best Western Plus Skagit Valley Inn and Convention Center, responded to this review
Thank you so much for your review! We are so happy to hear that you enjoyed your stay...and hope you'll be back...especially to take advantage of the Riverside Fitness Center. It is a great facility and for free is definitely a plus!! Thank you so much for your compliments, we value your feedback and will share it with our staff. Looking forward to your return! Safe travels!

"Nice hotel - but......"

02/01/2018

Was very surprised when I couldn't get an actual "glass". Considering this is a step up from a typical Best Western, was very disappointed when my wife and I had to drink Merlot from a plastic cup! Not the type of memory you want to walk away with on your anniversary. Overall, the hotel is nice, clean and bright - staff are very nice - something we've come to expect from Best Western, but the fact we couldn't get actual glasses was very disappointing.

Front D, Front Office Manager at Best Western Plus Skagit Valley Inn and Convention Center, responded to this review
Mr. M ~ we apologize for the plastic cups but appreciate your input. We are making it standard to have glasses available for our guests requests! Thankfully everything else went well and we wish you again a Happy Anniversary and many more to come. :)

"fantastic customer experience- dodgy accommodation"

31/12/2017

Fantastic welcome and staff couldn't have been more helpful. It has a slightly sad air to it and some of the corridors reminded me of a sanitorium, but clean and recommended for a travellers overnight stay, with nice home from home feeling

"Overnight stay"

30/12/2017

Only an overnight stay, but a return to this hotel. There is more space than average in each room making it good spot for families. It is not fancy, but clean and has a decent hotel breakfast. Combine that with not tripping over luggage when walking around the room and you would return here too.

"Excellent"

17/12/2017

The rooms are very clean and spacious, the internet is very fast, the staff is extremely helpful and friendly, and they offer coffee 24 hours in the very cozy lobby. I stayed here on business and I would not hesitate to stay again.

"Great stop for Black Friday Shopping"

26/11/2017

From the check-in experience to leaving after a great shopping trip, the Best Western at 2300 Market St. met all my expectations and some. The check-in clerk was sincere in his welcome and pointed out the fresh-baked chocolate-chip cookies at the side. The hot breakfast the next morning included scrambled eggs, sausage, biscuits, and make-your-own waffles, in addition to toast, cereal, yogurt, apples, bananas, coffee, and juice. The property is accessed by turning onto Market St off E. College Way driving north past the Safeway and it will be on your right. The 3rd floor room was huge with one sink in the bathroom and another sink outside the bathroom with a long counter. The beds were very comfortable as well. The location is perfect for driving to Alderwood Mall and the Premium outlet (half an hour away) as well as the Burlington Outlets, Ross, etc. and Bellingham mall. Don't forget the sales tax is cheaper in Burlington and Mt. Vernon, 8.5% and 8.7% respectively, so you save more compared to Alderwood Mall where it's 10.1%.

"HOSPITALITY in CAPS !! Very nice !!"

26/11/2017

Starting on arrival we felt so welcome and treated so good. Friendly and very polite, nice and spacous rooms, great breakfast selection and nice reception area. Great to sit, have a coffee and tea during a chat at the fireplace

Thank you again!! Can't wait to have you back. :)

"Very large clean room"

15/11/2017

Stayed for one night. The hotel was nice, reception welcoming with cookies and clean, and our room was very large with sofa and all standard facilities. We looked out over the parking lot and road but had no issues with noise from outside. There was ample parking. The pool is in a separate building belonging to a health club which we didn't use. Breakfast had all the standard choices and was nice, and the staff were very friendly both at breakfast and reception.

Front D, Front Office Manager at Best Western Plus Skagit Valley Inn and Convention Center, responded to this review
Thank you so much! We are so happy to hear you enjoyed your recent stay with us. i will definitely share your compliments with the staff and management team. We do hope this means you'll be back again soon. :) Safe travels!!

"Great property - hard to get to"

5
14/11/2017

The hotel is wonderful but you have to know that you get to it from a back street. Once you figure it out, it becomes very convenient to get around from. Easy access to restaurants, shopping, and sightseeing. The Bistro in their convention centre serves up great meals at reasonable prices. Wish it were open more that just Thursdays to Saturdays.

"Happy in Mt Vernon Wa"

13/11/2017

Was traveling through to see our daughter who lives in nearby Bellingham and chose this hotel for its close proximity to the things we were planning on doing. The town is surrounded by the most gorgeous mountains we have ever seen ! Lots of close by restaurants and stores for shopping. Rooms could use some updating but most important, they were very clean and the linens to! We would stay here again ??

"Vin of pdx"

10/11/2017

It is roomy, clean and close to shopping, restaurant. The fitness is the best, it was provided by the River fitness Club next door so you have all kinds of equipment, swimming pool, ect.. breakfast was good n facility is well kept

"Personal and Capable Employees"

5
07/11/2017

We felt very welcomed. The reception employees show personal interest in their guests. They told us about the Happy Hour drinks and food and breakfast . Because of snowy weather they would have made-up the sofa bed for my sister if necessary. We were in Mt. Vernon to attend a concert and in the morning gave me the poster from the display case!

"Large rooms!"

5
21/10/2017

Beautifully decorated hotel that has really large rooms, huge flat screen tv, large selection of breakfast items to choose from. One possible drawback is the sound of a train that went by in the middle of the night, but it wasn't loud enough to wake me up.

Front D, Front Office Manager at Best Western Plus Skagit Valley Inn and Convention Center, responded to this review
We are so happy to hear you enjoyed your stay! Sure wish we could muffle that train a bit :) Hope to have you back again soon. Thank you so much!!

20/10/2017

My wife and I have been enjoying a leisurely trip from Edmonton (Thanksgiving with the kids), back to home at Parksville ,Canada. We chose to travel thru the State of Washington, an enjoy (cheaper American gas) and the marvellous scenic views encompassing the Cascades, on Hwy 20. Our GPS led us tp the BW in Mt. Vernon. We settled into our spacious room, and were pleased with good Wi Fi, and TV, well appointed room, with a writing desk, and comfortable easy chairs. The desk clerk recommended the restaurant next door, and gave us a 15% voucher to apply to the meal. We were happy to return to our room, being well fed, and ready for the local paper, also supplied by BW, and settle into a cosy Queen bed, with a fluffy warm duvet, for a good nites sleep. We enjoy Best Western, and like to accumulate points, that will pay off in a free room, every time we reach 2000 pts.

Front D, Front Office Manager at Best Western Plus Skagit Valley Inn and Convention Center, responded to this review
Dear Weary, Thank you so much for your review!! We are so happy to hear everything went to well and you enjoyed the hotel and a peaceful night. :) We hope you'll stop in again as your travels take you through Washington ~ it shouldn't take too long to reach the 20000 points! Happy and safe travels, Grace MacDonald

"Great hotel, great staff"

5
16/10/2017

I was pleasantly surprised by this hotel. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. 2 separate sinks made it extremely easy for 2 people to get ready for an event. I was also impressed with the comfort of the bed. When i stay at a hotel i always wake up with back or neck pain. 2 nights here, not one twinge. The plain outside of the hotel does not do justice to the beautiful details in the hallways and lobby. Before my stay, I'd had to talk to the staff a few times on the phone for help extending my stay, late check-in, etc. I have nothing but praise for the courtesy, efficiency, and kindness of those who helped me, and those with whom i interacted during my stay.

Front D, Front Office Manager at Best Western Plus Skagit Valley Inn and Convention Center, responded to this review
Thank you so much!! We are undergoing upgrades to the outside of the hotel which we hope will help our curb appeal! And even more surprises happening inside as well! Hope to have you back again soon...safe travels!

"Pretty good"

4
06/10/2017

The rooms are large, the bedding is updated - no slippery bedspreads that don't get washed. My only complaint was they didn't have the 2 queen bed handicap room ready that we reserved. We settled for a king with a sofa bed. The king bed was very comfortable but the sofa bed was not at all. Wish our reservation would've been honored. There was quite a variety at breakfast. Waffles, fruit, yogurt, potatoes, sausage, oatmeal. I'm not a fan of the mass prepared scrambled eggs, but they had eggs. The place felt clean.

Front D, Front Office Manager at Best Western Plus Skagit Valley Inn and Convention Center, responded to this review
Thank you for your review. We apologize for not having the accommodations you requested. We will definitely bring your feedback to the Executive Staff so we can make the needed improvements for your next stay!! ;) Thank you again...safe travels.

"Try somewhere else"

3
27/09/2017

Accommodation options seem pretty limited round here and we ended up at this Best Western Plus. I thought it would be better. The staff is very friendly and good, and the rooms are very big and clean. Bad points include very dated decor in the rooms, and a rather underwhelming breakfast (although it is free). The location is good if you want to be near the highway but not if you want to walk anywhere in town.

Front D, Front Office Manager at Best Western Plus Skagit Valley Inn and Convention Center, responded to this review
Thank you for your review. We are undergoing a few upgrades in our rooms, the hotel and property...we hope you will give us another try if your travels bring you through Mount Vernon, WA again! :)

"Very Nice Hotel--Large Rooms"

4
25/09/2017

Stayed for one night with friends. Rooms were large and very clean. Staff very accommodating, Checked in early with no issues. Bed was very comfortable. Price was a bit high. Breakfast had a good selection, staff kept tables, floors clean and food stocked. No issues with us leaving a vehicle in their parking lot well past checkout. Good Location!!

"Wedding Block Booking"

5
18/09/2017

My fiance (now wife) and I booked this hotel for our wedding block. We were very impressed and received positive feedback from all our guests. While not a 5 star hotel, the Best Western Plus was very easy to work with and the staff was very accommodating. The price was reasonable for the quality of the rooms and the area. The rooms were large, clean, and comfortable. The free breakfast also more than met our needs. The only negative was that parts of the hotel smelled a little old and musty, but everything was clean.

"MS Bike Ride weekend in Mt. Vernon, WA"

5
12/09/2017

As in several years' past, our stay was seamless. Accommodation of a large, varied group of cyclists for the MS Bike ride presents challenges both in the facility and in the parking as well as serving breakfast. All were handled well. THere was even a to-go offering for those who departed before breakfast was served.

"Beautiful but why?"

4
09/09/2017

Why did this BW insist on putting us in a handicapped room? There was maybe a foot between the toilet and sink. The accommodations were beautiful. However if you want a free breakfast during the week make sure you are there well before nine.

"Really Great Hotel"

5
06/09/2017

This hotel was outstanding from the staff through the facility and breakfast. Would highly recommend it with easy access to downtown Mt Vernon. I like the cookies in the afternoon. The scrambled eggs for breakfast were excellent. Really great stay for five days.

Front D, Manager at Best Western Plus Skagit Valley Inn and Convention Center, responded to this review
Thank you for the rave review! We are so happy to see that you enjoyed your stay with us and hope to see you again soon.

"Good place to stay!"

4
31/08/2017

We booked this place as a last minute decision and were very pleased. The breakfast was better than most places we've stayed at. The room was very clean, but the internet could be stronger. Overall a good place to stay!

Front D, Manager at Best Western Plus Skagit Valley Inn and Convention Center, responded to this review
Good afternoon Eric! We so glad you booked with us. I am happy to hear you enjoyed our breakfast and your room and I will be sure to pass this along to the breakfast and housekeeping staff! We are working on a solution to make the in-room wifi stronger so next time you stay with us it will be better.

"It does not get much better"

5
26/08/2017

It really does not get much better. This hotel stands out in the area. It is well designed, very well maintained, and staffed by a great bunch of folks. We visit family in the area and are always at home here. Hope the Bistro flourishes it makes a quiet evening soo easy.

"Convention in Skagit Valley"

18/08/2017

We enjoyed our stay very much, already told some friends about it. They were planning to be there the following week. I thought the breakfasts were good, our family loved the pool. It's only 4 feet deep, but we had a great time in it, and it was clean.

"Worth the hunt"

Kinda hard to find but the hotel and room was wonderful Very large clean comfy room. Staff was friendly and informative. Pool was very nice and refreshing. Lots of stores around and fitness center next door bistro next door with pool

"Family vacation"

11/08/2017

The hotel is nice and the room is big close to north cascade N.P however there is a little smell in our room and the air condition is to loud, the bed is uncomfortable it's hard to get a good night sleep.

"Nice Choice in Mt Vernon"

4
06/08/2017

Nice choice among hotel options in Mt Vernon. Quiet location. Extremely friendly and helpful staff. Good restaurant options within 15 minute drive. Easy access to Anacortes to catch ferry the next morning.

"Comfortable & Oversized Rooms"

4
06/08/2017

Stayed here for 2 nights in conjunction with a family event held at their conference center. The rooms are HUGE which was very welcome. Our bed was very comfortable -- almost as good as being at home. Nice & convenient that there's a microwave & fridge in the room ... too bad they don't have "real" coffee makers. My 2 "complaints" & what stopped awarding 5 stars: 1) soundproofing is not adequate ... we could heard & be bothered by both external traffic noice & internal noice from folks (ok, kids) running around the halls. That being said, it is a very nice hotel & we'd stay here again if in the area. The staff are very helpful & genuinely interested in making sure everything goes well. I'd like to single out Jena & Emily for special praise.

"Healthy Lifestyle Welcomed"

4
06/08/2017

By staying at the Best Western, we had access to a full fitness right behind the hotel. Our room had a mini fridge and microwave, which was very helpful for preparing and keeping healthy items on hand. The free complimentary breakfast included oatmeal, which could be made with skim milk, walnuts, almonds, and seeds for a great dietitian-approved breakfast, although yogurt choices were less impressive. Quite hotel with large rooms and lots of space.

"Best Western Skagit Valley"

4
03/08/2017

This hotel is conveniently located. Lots of restaurants and shopping near by. There is also lots to do in the local area. Rooms and decor are what you would expect in this price range. Staff is helpful and breakfast is better than most. Parking is available for bigger vehicles. This place gets a lot of out of town people working in the area.

"Lovely Place to Stay"

5
02/08/2017

The room had a sink/vanity in both bathroom area and in the main room. Extremely convenient. Outstanding breakfast selections. Best hotel breakfast I have ever seen. The staff was very friendly and helpful. They did their best to provide us with everything wee needed.

"Loved it!"

5
01/08/2017

My husband and I recently stayed for the weekend. It was perfect for us. We were taking the ferry in Anacortes to San Juan and staying here was perfect. We didn't have to wake up extremely early to get to Anacortes and we didn't have to pay the high hotel prices for staying in Anacortes. It was a very nice hotel the staff was friendly. And was very clean. The breakfast was also very good. It was nice to have a full breakfast and not have to go out to eat. We will definitely be staying here again if we take another trip up that way.

"The "plus" tells you something about this hotel"

4
28/07/2017

Its a decent hotel - somewhat remote from the real town, in fact farthest away and the convention center is a bot of a question mark, but all in all a good place to rest your head for a night - we stayed two and travelled west for a day. It wouldn't draw me back but then again it is clean and functional.

"great value, easy stop off interstate"

5
27/07/2017

This is a great value for a hotel. Easy to get to off the interstate and clean large rooms. check-in was crowded but check-out was easy. Staff professional and friendly. located to various restaurant within a few miles. Breakfast was standard fare but no problems and could get a seat very easily.

"Second visit"

5
26/07/2017

Just as lovely as the first time we visited. Evening staff friendly and efficient. Morning staff gave us best suggestion ever...go to Wenatchee via the South Skagit Highway. So helpful to have knowledgeable staff! Biscuits and gravy still the best. Better than homemade!

23/07/2017

We have stayed at the Best Western Skagit Valley Inn numerous times. Its very convenient to everything we need to go and do. The staff is great, caring and helpful. We had dinner at the Market Street Bistro a part of the Best Western, the dinner was great, the service was great it takes some time to get your food but so worth it, you cant rush a good thing.

"Nothing but the best"

4
23/07/2017

We were passing through with some friends and it was a great stay. The night clerk even suggested all the best places to stay because we were not familiar with the area. Breakfast was better than other BW we have stayed at.

"Good spot, clean quiet rooms and decent breakfast"

4
18/07/2017

Great spot and very Central to Burlington as well as the I-5 freeway and 20 West if you're heading towards the Port Angeles Ferry. The rooms were clean and quiet they included a frigerator and microwave which is always nice the bed was amazingly comfortable and the place was a really good stay. Definitely enough parking and a friendly staff at the front desk. I would definitely stay here again. The only reason I gave it 4 out of 5 is just because parts of the building seem dated but everything is clean and in good working order and looks like they've gone through a few upgrades and maybe they're just finishing off some other ones but it's a good spot and good place.

"Road trip."

5
18/07/2017

We visited the. We were on our road trip for a visit to the Northern Cascades.Institute. We were there for 3 days of the great outdoors. We spent our time going on various hikes to find out about the history about the areas plants flowers trails and we had excellent guides on our hike. Thanks.

"Located next to skid row"

2
16/07/2017

Homeless people staying in the parking lots behind and next door. No high quality here for the room rate that was charged. Not close to anything, I stayed cheaper on the Oregon coast on the ocean than what they charged here. Keep looking for a better hotel.

"Convenient and Affordable"

5
14/07/2017

We travel to Mount Vernon frequently and have stayed in many different places. As motels go, this BW is one of the better properties. Excellent staff, great full buffet breakfast, lobby is very nice and well kept, and the property itself is convenient to the greater MV area (city and surrounding area). There are newer properties farther north in Burlington, and pricey options in La Conner, but for the money this one tops my list. The rooms offer standard fare but are very nice and well kept.

"Clean and Comfortable"

4
10/07/2017

Very friendly and helpful staff. A really nice bonus was having access to a full scale fitness center next door with my stay. Easy on and off to Interstate 5 and a lot of restaurants and shopping nearby to choose from.

"Lots of Rules"

3
08/07/2017

Have stayed here before. Location suits us well when visiting Burlington/Mt Vernon. Seems to me that are many rules that I found myself feeling slightly bothered. There are disposable booties to put over your shoes if they are dirty so as to not track any dirt into the hotel. First time I have ever seen this at any hotel ever! There is a sign outside the breakfast room advising that you MUST show your room key to enter. Again, first time I have ever had to have each of us carry a room key to access the breakfast. Rooms are large and the bed and linens are comfortable. Lotion, shampoo, conditioner and shower gel are in dispensers hanging on the wall. It was ridiculous trying to get the product out of the dispenser. I couldn't get any of the lotion out at all. Again, feeling annoyed. Could of called the front desk but I didn't want to deal with any maintenance person as wanted to go to bed. Front desk personal were pleasant and the breakfast was good.

Cleanliness is important for me and this hotel has that. The beds are comfortable, the room spacious, and the staff friendly. The breakfast has a large variety of choices and because I left early, I was given a "Grab and Go" breakfast. A great place to stay.

29/06/2017

The staff member who checked us in was very welcoming. She made you want to come back again (which we will). Not too crazy about the breakfast however and would probably not stay for breakfast again. Otherwise we had a very good stay. This hotel is our usual stop when going to Mt Vernon.

"Get away"

26/06/2017

Went on a get way. Felt nice to be gone and not worry about anything. The room was nice and big and bed was comfortable to sleep on. The bathroom was nice and big as well and very clean. Shower wasNice n hot

"Great Hotel"

5
26/06/2017

This was easily one of the most comfortable hotels we have ever stayed in. The room was large and well maintained. The staff was always eager to help. The bistro is relatively new but the food was great and the bartender was friendly. The full breakfast was a great start to the day. I don't hesitate to recommend this hotel.

"Nice Place"

5
26/06/2017

If you're driving through Skagit Valley on the 5 and you don't want to venture too far off your route, your motel options are pretty limited. This Best Western will do just fine. New construction, big rooms, quiet, comfortable, clean, good breakfast, friendly front desk. Had problems with the wi-fi download speed, and apparently, I'm not the first; other than that, no complaints.

"Good choice to stay with Best Western"

4
26/06/2017

Everything about the hotel was professional and welcoming. Clean, comfortable, roomy, and a nice change from second-grade motels in some towns. The staff and check in were helpful and friendly, and the overall ambience of the hotel is good.

"are you kidding me?"

1
22/06/2017

I stayed here on a work trip. When I was getting ready in the morning, I discovered that the shower was broken, so I opted to go without rather than call down to the desk to have someone come to my room to repair, switch rooms etc. as I was on a tight schedule. When I checked out, the desk clerk asked me about my stay and I politely told her that the shower in the room was not working. She said that next time, I could shower in the workout facility across the parking lot if I had the same problem again. I though it was kind of a strange response-as I can't imagine walking across the freeway adjacent parking lot, or, frankly, any parking lot, in my PJ's to take a shower and get ready for work...She handed me a receipt for my stay and I looked at it and said that I was very surprised she went ahead and charged my card the full amount given that I could not shower in my room. She told me that I got a very good rate for the room. Um, this was a room with a BROKEN SHOWER. I COULD NOT SHOWER. She added that she could not give me a discount anyway and that if I wanted to discuss further, I would need to call back and talk to "Barbara" on Friday. Other than that, the hotel was dirty and odd and I would never stay there again and I hope you never have to either.

"Great Stay"

5
22/06/2017

Everything went smoothly. I would definitely stay at the Best Western Plus the next time I'm in Mt. Vernon. The staff was friendly, the room was clean and I had a relaxing stay. I'd recommend this hotel as having great value.

"Would probably not stay again"

4
20/06/2017

Room was clean and spacious, staff was friendly and lots of room to park. I stay in Mount Vernon 4-5 times a year for a week at at a time and normally stay at different locations. I would probably not stay here again just because of all of the signs they have up about breakfast, feels like too many rules. 1. Sign saying you have to show room pass to enter breakfast area 2. Big sign saying you cannot take any food back to your room, I like to grab breakfast and watch the news in my room. 3. Big sign saying only take a little food, if you want more come back. Just does not have a welcome feeling, breakfast is complimentary but I am paying for it since I am renting a room. If I go to a restaurant they do not tell me to only order what I will eat I can order whatever I want, Never have stayed at a hotel that I had to show my room key to eat breakfast or had to read all of the signs telling me what I cannot do

The room was clean, large, excellent bed and amenities. The breakfast was good, but kind of a small area for hosting the number of guests. While they had a swimming pool, it was outdoors, and in this environment, not exactly ideal, plus it closed at 9 PM. Staff was friendly.

Good solid property near Safeway. Close to N. Cascades N.P. Convenient to ferries.Restaurants limited to fast food. Our second time to stay here as it is a lower cost option than properties closer to Seattle.

"Best customer service!"

29/05/2017

Barbra, at the front desk, was an absolute joy and pleasure both on the phone and in person!! Barbra's, customer service was above and beyond my expectations. She checked us in Friday afternoon with such ease and speed with the phone ringing constantly; her bubbly personality never broke! Then on Sunday when, Barbra, checked us out she showed the same excellent customer service and speed. She also kept us up to date as to when the pool would be open; she even let us know during breakfast Sunday when the pool opened! Barbra was fantastic and certainly deserves a raise in pay! We met, Judy, Sarurday morning poolside, where she was making sure everything was as it should be. My daughter and I were struggling to open some of our pool toys that were zipped tied, while, Judy, was doing her duties. To our surprise, Judy returned with a pair of scissors for us to cut the zip ties! Honestly, Judy, didn't have to do that, but she did and my kiddos and I were able to enjoy our pool time even more. I believe, Judy, also deserves a raise, because she takes notice of the fine details that will make a families stay a little sweeter!! The young lady in the breakfast area was an absolute jewel! Not only was the breakfast fabulous, tasty, and hot, she kept the area clean and well stocked. She was delightful every morning! The house keeper on Saturday morning who asked if we needed service, can't remember her exact wording, but she switched out our dirty towels for clean ones with such an awesome attitude and a great smile. It was a pleasure to have someone with a caring manner to assist us my family. Thanks so much, Mary McMorris

"Comfortable room, friendly staff, and real plates/silverware with complimentary breakfast."

I really appreciated the helpfulness of the staff, the comfortable room, the ability to control my shower volume, the soap/shampoo/lotion dispensers, and the hot breakfast complete with real plates/cups/silverware. A good conference in a very nice location. A little hard to find the hotel from the freeway exit, but it worked out.

I enjoyed my stay. The staff was friendly. The room was beautiful & clean. The beds were comfortable and the bathroom was nice and roomy. It was quiet. Its in a great location. Closes to food, freeways and shopping. I would recommend this place to others.

5 star rating. Great hotel, the staff were very friendly and helpful people making you feel welcomed. Great atmosphere, very clean and very comfortable, We have traveled and stayed at many hotels over the last 30 years and this is the first hotel that we would highly recommend to family and friends.

"Noon checkout time is a bonus. Consistently clean and comfortable!"

When we annually come to Mt. Vernon to see the Snow Geese or the Tulips, we always stay at the Best Western Plus. Once again, we were impressed. The rooms are spacious and clean. The breakfast that is provided offers quite a bit of variety. This time the waffle maker was working (it wasn't when we were here a couple of months ago), but there no longer seemed to be someone there to make omelettes. It didn't really matter as scrambled eggs were one of the options as were biscuits and gravy, sausage, and hashbrowns. For lighter eaters, yogurt, granola and fruits are available. Chocolate chip cookies are available at about 4:00. Those little touches are nice. The biggest bonus? Checkout isn't until noon!

This is an old building that has had a major overhaul. New paint, new sign, new carpets and paint but still an old building. We were kept up most of the night with very loud people upstairs banging around. Not sure what they were dong up there but it was constant. Every footstep made the ceiling creak and then big bangs once and a while. We could even hear the dresser drawer being slid open and closed, a lot. I was wearing ear plugs and could still hear the banging and could feel the vibration in the bed. We usually stay at the new Hampton down the street but it was full. The BW was as much or more money then the Hampton for a much older nosier building. The staff, breakfast, beds and overall room cleanliness were up to BW standards but the noise would keep us from returning.

"Third party booking."

17/04/2017

We found in review of the costs that would have been charged if we had dealt directly would have been significantly less. In fact, our overall cost for two nights was at least $ 100.00 more than if we had just phoned the hotel. With that in mind, we will never use this booking (third party) service again! Best Western is fine, but this service has left us less than enthused about any so called savings!

I loved this hotel. Staff was friendly and helpful, and went out of their way in anyway they could. Hotel was clean and welcoming, and very quiet despite that they were busy. Food was very good and the waitstaff was very polite. I had thought I left my wedding ring there and the manager and staff did everything they could to help me find it...including digging through the dumpster!!! They were AWESOME!

"Not for you if you need a handicap bathroom"

2
16/04/2017

We called to reserve a handicap room with a tall toilet stool. What we got was a bathroom with a very low toilet stool with a a tall U shaped bar on the right bolted to the floor to use to pull yourself up from the low toilet. Very uncomfortable to use yet in their lobby restroom they have a standard handicap toilet. When I complained about the low stool in the handicapped room room I was told I should have have asked for a plastic seat riser. Breakfast area was deserted by the help. Had to get lobby help for coffee. Try another place.

15/04/2017

We checked in at 3 am and so well taken care of after a long exhausting day. The hotel may not look like much from the outside but inside I was blown away! We stayed on the third floor. Our room was HUGE. Everything was so clean, quiet, and our beds were the best I've slept on! The breakfast was great and the staff was amazing. Will definitely stay here when in the area again. Can't say enough great things about this stay!

"Good location and large clean rooms"

11/04/2017

We booked two rooms with family and went there to see tulip fields. I was kind of nervous as I have never been to that side of Washington. When we arrived it was nicely remodeled hotel and welcoming staff. Front desk gal helped us with the information we need regarding our trip. Hallway and rooms were huge and clean. Price was moderate. Will definitely stay there again.

I think this is the best hotel in 21 years we have stayed at. This was our 21st anniversary trip and the staff here made it a great stay. From the super helpful check in that made it easy and helped us plan our next days activities to the delicious breakfast ,comfortable room, and easy checkout it was as good as 5 star hotels we have stayed at. Also loved the red carpet as you walk in.

"sleepless in seattle-burlington"

29/10/2016

This is an older hotel with a lot of upgrades. I picked a room with a ?? jet tub which was a real treat before bed. The bed was very comfortable with lots of pillows. The wifi worked, digital tv had dozens of channels (no sleep button). They say you should not expect a good sleep the first night in a strange place. Noisy. The heat fan was loud I eventually got up and turned off. The hotel is a block from the rail line, there were three trains in the night, each blew their horn 18 times. I disagree one should have to wear ear plugs in a hotel. The desk clerk was helpful and put me the far end away from the freeway so no highway noise. The hotel did well to spruce up the lobby but would do better to replace the windows with “Low E” & replace the PTAC. Cleaning staff efficient & friendly. Breakfast: best hotel free brekkie ever!

Nice quiet room, found a silverfish in the bathroom and reported it to the staff. The breakfast was OK. I was wanting to go swimming then found out that the pool is located outdoors which seemed odd to me because the weather in that area is normally too cool for outside swimming.

Large, clean rooms. Quiet and close to grocery, gas, restaurants. Best of all--they have new beds and they are the best, most comfortable beds of our entire trip. Remember the fabulous beds the Marriott used to have - these are just as good. Very good night's rest. Courteous staff, easy parking.

The room we got was very big which was nice as we had to do a lot of packing. The ladies in the front desk are really nice and service minded. It is a clean and nice facility with spacious halls. There is an outside pool and a restaurant across the street. We did not try the breakfast. Free coffee and cookies in the lobby. This place is up there with other best westerns in this price range and I can easily recommend staying here!

I have stayed here quite a few times over the years. I have not been here for over a year and I was pleased to see all the refreshing updates. New paint and siding on the outside, a red carpet entry, lobby all updated, new furniture. The rooms are large and open. Beds are comfortable, lots of pillows. Bathrooms are big, lots of towels. Windows are large...with full opening sliders. Very few hotels have windows that open. I enjoyed the fresh air! WiFi internet was very fast at 2500 mbps. Thank you Best West. Breakfast was full on good. Lots of choice, hot and cold. Very well presented and clean. Staff is friendly and quick. Love this place and encourage everyone to try it.

These BW Plus motels are becoming our preference. The rooms are spacious, quiet, clean and comfortable. The staff are friendly and professional. "Convenience with Excellent Service"

5
02/10/2016

This is an ideal location from which to also visit Anacortes, La Conner and North Cascades National Park. The front desk personnel were exceptionally helpful, and the room was very clean and comfortable. Breakfast is served in the Conference Center on premises; it included a nice variety of options, and the staff working that area was quick to offer friendly service, including bottles of water for the road. The location is just off of a main road, Riverside Drive, on the north end of Mount Vernon by the Skagit River; across the bridge is the city of Burlington, where that same main road is called Burlington Boulevard. Within easy walking distance are a health club to which guests have access, restaurants and Wal-Mart.

"No Pets"

29/09/2016

The concierge was shocked that we asked about pets. The back up person came in and said there would be a $150. charge if we brought in a pet. The reaction was close to aggressive. The motel had been pet friendly for years. That is the last time we darken their door.

"Nice Hotel"

26/09/2016

"Trek to the West"

25/09/2016

Total experience from the phone call to reserve in advance to check-in & check-out was very positive. The person at the desk when we arrived was very helpful. The room was one of the nicer Best Westerns on our stay, large with everything you could possibly want. A nice restaurant, we gathered just recently opened, was just a walk across the parking lot. The hot buffet was quality.

"Good for what was needed"

4
22/09/2016

We were on our way home when we decided to stay at this hotel. It was simply just for a stop in our drive and sleep overnight. We didn't utilize any of their facilities. The room was clean, as expected. It did have a musky/old smell (especially when stepping in from the hallway) but otherwise it was a fine king room with sofa and TV. Interesting that they had two sinks outside of the bathroom - one just outside and the other in the main part of the room where the bed is. Our room also came with a fridge. TV channel selection was great too. Didn't try WiFi so cannot comment. The breakfast was good as expected. A good selection including the usuals. The staff was friendly. It was a pleasant stay when all we needed was a bed to sleep in overnight.

We arrived for a funeral and having never stayed in Mount Vernon before I wasn't sure where to book. Skagit Valley Inn was the perfect location for all the places we had to be. My son noted that the carpet in our room smelled pee like. I think it could have been from water dripping off the sinks onto the carpet in by the bed. Breakfast was ample and satisfying. Staff were friendly and helpful. A/C a bit loud but i find this is the norm in most of these type of hotels.

"Clean and tidy!"

5
05/09/2016

The hotel and staff present well. The comfort of the rooms and beds are good. The breakfast offers a variety of items and very good!!! The staff are very accommodating and complete their tasks at a brisk pace but still make time to assist families and individuals. I felt the price was overpriced for the location and time of year but because we were in a bind and it was late at night this was the best we could do.

"What a Find!!"

5
03/09/2016

We were just looking for a clean room to lay our heads for the night and we feel like we found a palace. This used to be a retirement home, so the rooms are HUGE and very comfortable. the restaurant that is in the parking lot has great burgers. The breakfast was better than I have had at many higher end hotels. I would highly recommend that you check them out. Very reasonable and very accommodating!!

"Poor communication"

2
01/09/2016

We had reservations to stay here one night and when we arrived a pipe had apparently burst and there was no water. Apparently this had been a problem for at least 24 hrs. When we checked in we were told it would be reparied by a certain time. When we checked in we were asked if we were ever notified and no one had called us to tell us of the problem. The water was still not on several hrs after they had initially told us it would be fixed. Needless to say we ended up going somewhere else for the night since I did not want to go across the street to use the bathroom.... The room we initially checked into was very nice and clean, too bad we were mislead when we checked in.

Was pleasantly surprised by this property. It is an older facility but amazingly clean and well maintained. The room was spacious and very quiet. Staff went above and beyond to help out. Stayed here two nights and would definitely come back. The room was large and clean. Breakfast was good and plentiful, Stayed on the 3rd floor where the hallway was very wide and the ceiling tall making it look very spacious. THe bedding was fine and it also had a fridge. They were painting the exterior while I was there which meant some parking spaces were roped off but it was not a problem for us as parking was available. The entry and exit from the parking lot is a bit confusing for someone not used to the area. Overall, a good hotel and a place where you could return for repeat stays.

26/08/2016

Rooms were clean and updated. Exterior was in the process of being painted, but didn't detract or interfere with our stay. Restaurant next door didn't look open, but it appears they were just re-opening. It was located in the back of the building, so a sign would probably improve business. The food was excellent! The absolute best steamer clams in a delicious broth I've ever had!

"Great Stay"

I travel a lot on business and this is my go to hotel when ever I am in the Mt Vernon area. The front desk staff always greets me by name. They are always friendly and go above and beyond to make sure your stay is perfect. The beds are extremely comfortable and the breakfast is above standards of regular hotels. It's always a pleasure to stay here.

"Convenient location when traveling from B.C. to Seattle"

20/08/2016

The desk clerks were all very nice and helpful. The rooms are rather dated, but clean. If you are a light sleeper, you will definitely hear the train coming by during the night (and then there is the pre-7 am leaf/mulch/dust blowers going around the shopping center next door).

"Excellect service as usual"

18/08/2016

Very happy with the friendly staff. Roomy enough for our family of four. Only complaint might be that the air was off when we entered the room and since it had been a hot day the room was very warm when opened the door. Cooled off son enough

"Nice place - clean - new"

17/08/2016

looks like they just redid this place. the staff was very friendly - the check in was easy. free breakfast - quiet - although along a highway. Got this one last minute actually - our scheduled hotel/inn lost our reservation. they quickly got us situated. recommended

"Great choice"

08/08/2016

The room was great, so was the staff. The pool was outside and it was nice and warm so the kids were in heaven. I had an unusual reservation, one night with payment one night with points (coupon) and it took a great amount of patience to work through especially when I had a squirrelly 5 year old with me.

"One of my go-to stays!"

25/07/2016

The staff at this Best Western franchise is always exceptionally friendly, knowledgable, and helpful (even if you aren't familiar with them, as was the case for me, when I was new to staying at this hotel). The hotel, itself, is quite nice, for its price-point, and they update their amenities regularly. They also have a full restaurant/bistro on-site, and hotel guests are allowed access to a private gym, next door to the hotel (a REAL gym, which is fully equipped). The hotel's beds are among the most comfortable I've come across, for a hotel, and the rooms are always clean.

"Nice motel"

24/07/2016

Not right off the freeway, but not too difficult to find. Good choice of food for breakfast. Room clean and spacious. Not much of a view out window. Extra sink and mirror in room made it nice for family that all wants to get ready at same time. Would come here again especially at the rate we paid.

22/07/2016

This was a great place to stay. We were greeted by very friendly and courteous front desk personnel. We were checked in quickly to a first floor room, which we like. The room was nicely appointed with two queen beds, a large desk and a very comfortable desk chair. The room had excellent lighting, everywhere! I am visually disabled and I need a lot of light. The window opened for fresh air and the pillows and linens were fantastic (as good as The Four Seasons-Seattle) Honest!. The morning breakfast was four hours long so you don't have to rush; as diabetics we are skeptical of all "complimentary breakfasts" but this buffet had wonderful protein selections as well as the standard fair for people who like their "carbs". Great rates, great people!

"oasis away from home"

19/07/2016

Helpful & friendly staff. Easy check in and out process. Quiet rooms, black out shades, comfortable, quality bedding. great night's rest. Slept too well to sample breakfast, but it sounded like a full hot menu offering that would have been satisfying.a Well appointed spacious rooms. Excellent lighting.

"Stay here, islander discount available."

5
17/07/2016

What an awesome staff. We booked last minute deals with priceline.com and when arrived the staff was soo helpful, especially Dy, she was soo great. Told us about islander discount, we will stay here everytime we come over from Friday Harbor. Fantastic breakfast and pool opens at 7AM. All around nice rooms and friendly staff. There is a reason this hotel is #1

"Great location as a stopping of point but dated"

3
17/07/2016

Good staff, location and service but the rooms (at least on the first floor) are dated. There is a general musty/damp smell on the first floor that is hard to feel good about! I would probably stay again just because the location is good for our trips but I would definitely ask to be on a top floor not on the ground floor.

"Comfy & Clean!"

5
15/07/2016

Stayed one night after a long day of flying! Very clean & comfy. A/c worked great, bathroom & shower clean & spacious. Beds super comfy! Breakfast was great! Lots of options! Heather at the front desk was very friendly & helpful!! Would definitely stay here again!

"The comfort of home"

11/07/2016

We enjoy staying at this motel. It is always our first choice when coming to Mt Vernon. Everyone is friendly and courteous. The price has been reasonable. The hot breakfast is perfect. The location is quiet, and easy access to shopping and the freeway.

"Good stay"

09/07/2016

Older property in need of an update. The lobby has just be redone who hangs in the lobby of a BW? They did have fresh made cookies early evening. Yum. Rooms are huge! Beds are very comfortable with good linens. Bathtub was narrow & shallow more suitable for a shower rather than bath. Bring your own shampoo/conditioner and the product provided in those on the wall dispensers was horrible (cheap). Overall everything was very clean & tidy. Breakfast was very good with lots of options. Breakfast runs until 10:00 but we discovered when we asked for the omelets that they are only available until 9:00. Try to get a room on the top floor (3 stories) as the floor creaked overhead in our room on the 2nd floor. I would stay here again for the right price.

"Really spacious rooms and very clean."

4
09/07/2016

I really enjoyed the spacious room, and the internet worked really well compared to some of the other BW locations. Alot of trains do blast their horns at all hours so if this bothers you bring ear plugs.

"Great value "

07/07/2016

We needed a place to stay on our way home Canada after a long day of driving. Great rate and a lovely large room. I appreciated the extra sink outside the bathroom. Reception was friendly and helpful. Room was clean and smelled fresh . My husband thoroughly enjoyed the chocolate chip cookies! Breakfast was pretty standard BW breakfast but they also had steel cut oatmeal which was a treat. I just wish BW would offer real cups and plates rather than disposable everything (my beef! ). Good choice

"Not a typical Best Western Plus"

2
06/07/2016

Breakfast was the worst of any Best Western we have stayed in. Ham tasted like the paper plate provided for eating. Plastic utensils tasted better than most of the food. Poorly labelled. My wife thought the Bearnaise sauce by the scrambled eggs was hot oatmeal porridge. Hotel is very old and needs a major refit

"Good Value"

4
03/07/2016

We got a good value through Hotwire, and were pleased with the breakfast (waffles, eggs, cereal, yogurt, toast, bagels, oatmeal. omelettes on request, ham), decent size outdoor pool, microwave and fridge in room, Wi-Fi, large room and close location to the I-5. There is a Wal-Mart close by as well as other restaurants and amenities. Burlington stores are also a quick drive. A good value if you get a good deal, and it looks as if some renos are in progress. Note that the sign doesn't say the Plus, just BW and there is another Best Western close by so make sure you are at the right address.

"Pleasant ...."

4
27/06/2016

Marvellous room, included a fridge, microwave, free wifi! Toilet and shower located in same room, but, not so close that you have to climb over toilet to get to shower. Breakfast was very good, plentiful and hot. Will stay at a Best Western again.

"Large room, clean, with outstanding staff"

4
26/06/2016

This was a great place to stay for a soccer tournament with our granddaughter. The large cheerful and well lit room was comfortable, allowing us to spread our things out without any problems. The beds were comfortable, the bathroom clean with plenty of room (the sink and counter are separately located from the toilet and shower and bath tub). The indoor pool is located across the parking lot -- the kids loved it. The large breakfast room has a large menu and was well presented. The hotel staff was very welcoming and helpful.

"Hotel "

21/06/2016

More than 25 years of staying at Best Western Plus Skagit Valley translates to Customer loyalty for good reasons. This hotel is consistent in offering friendly service from time of check in to the time you leave. While over the years there have been many changes in personnel and more recently significant renovations, the large rooms, good parking and locations are still reasons to select this " home away from home"

"Great value - Super Nice "

13/06/2016

Our reservations were for three days at this lovely hotel. Hot, fresh from the over, cookies were offered to us upon checking in, along with a cup of delicious coffee. The check in process was easy. The discount/coupon that we reserved under was verified and we were quickly directed to our room. Upon entering the room, we loved the size of the room. The living room/seating area and the comfortable kin size bed does not make the room seem small at all. The air conditioner kept the room comfortable. The full breakfast is amazing - made to order Imelda, biscuits and gravy, eggs (boiled and/or scrambled, bacon, fried potatoes, waffles, assorted cereals, pastries and breads, yogurt, fruit, coffee and juices are just a few of the items offered. The pool is clean with shower rooms adjacent. The full gym next door offered at no cost for BW guest was a real hit for my gym-loving husband. The washer & dryer was a major hit with me because I could wash all of our clothes from vacation and not have to do it upon returning home. This is a VERY NICE hotel and one that WE WILL be staying at again on our next trip to Mt Vernon!!

"Value and accommodative"

5
08/06/2016

This Best Western is geared to the convention/large group trade. We were visiting relatives in Mt. Vernon and chose to stay based upon reviews. Since we were staying on a Sunday night, the hotel was nearly empty - and fine for us. We had a pleasant, large and comfortable room, nice accommodations, and great service. Easy location off the freeway and close to restaurants although not really for walking distance as in inclement weather you would rather drive. Location is also appropriate for visiting La Conner which is about 15 minutes away.

"Excellent value"

5
27/05/2016

Staff was great. Room was large, clean, quiet and comfortable. Breakfast was the best I have experienced at any Best Western Plus. The hotel is centrally located and close to many restaurants and downtown area.

"Very few pluses to this hotel."

3
24/05/2016

Pros: Very friendly and helpful staff. Cons: Property needs major updates. The rooms were large, but dark and very outdated. (I have never encountered a worse coffee maker in a hotel room - whatever this contraption brewed, I wouldn't call it coffee). We also noticed that exterior doors to the hotel were not locked. Overall, this was fine for one night, but I have to imagine there are better options in Mount Vernon.

"Clean but tired rooms"

4
21/05/2016

Stayed here a few years ago and came back because recalled comfortable beds and clean rooms. The lobby was updated with furnishings and fresh baked cookies greet you. The staff was very pleasant. Our room was a king. Although very clean, the room looked tired with very dull lighting. The mattress was a bit squishy. I do hope they have it scheduled to renovate soon. A plus is that the morning breakfast (Saturday) was great! Omelets made to order plus multiple cooked breakfast foods in addition to the usual continental breakfast items. Access to a full service gym across the parking lot is a plus as well.

"The Staff is Amazing"

5
19/05/2016

I had an amazing time at this Best Western. The staff was always there to help if there was an issue...Barbara on of the staff there always went out of her way to help us and tells us about local things. She is just amazing. I will come back to this Best Western when i visit again. Also the rooms were clean and well maintained. The Breakfast was always prepared and delicious and the cook was nice too.

"Very comfortable stay with a GREAT breakfast!"

4
17/05/2016

Hotel lobby and hallways appear to be in the midst of remodel.....but the room was great! Very comfortable bed and bedding and quiet stay. The breakfast is beyond most! So many options including made to order omelets! And great shopping is just down the street including an outlet mall.

"Attended the Break Free protest"

5
17/05/2016

Fantastic! Great beds, lots of fast, hot water, good complimentary breakfast and professional servicing all round. We code the Best Western for it's location and online reviews. We didn't have time to use the inviting, heated swimming pool and hot tub. Next time!!

"A Great Hotel"

5
10/05/2016

My wife and I spent a night at this hotel in May 2016 and found it to be one of the best hotels of it's class. The rooms are large, well furnished and spotlessly clean. The complementary breakfast is the one of the best we have ever had. There was a large selection of both hot and cold items but the clincher was the made to order omelettes. The staff on the reception were both friendly and helpful. I would have absolutely no hesitation in recommending this hotel.

"Fine stay"

3
09/05/2016

Stayed for a girls shopping weekend April 29 - May 1......was a little worse than I was expecting, but it was ok. The hotel is in need of some renovations, which it looked like had been started in the lobby. The carpet throughout is in desperate need of replacing, there are some minor cosmetic fixes needed in common areas (hallways) as well as the décor in some rooms. The beds & bedding seemed new & were comfortable, breakfast was great! The overall look at this point is just a little tired. As long as the renovations continue, I would go back & stay again.

"Loved this hotel"

5
08/05/2016

The best bed ever - so comfortable that I slept very well. Easy to access as it is just off the highway so a neat spot to stop. Rooms are large and the staff are very friendly and helpful - I will stay here again. Best breakfast ever with a variety of foods - even down to freshly made omlettes. This hotel was a delight - desk agents were very welcoming.

"Family trip"

28/04/2016

We had a nice stay, the place is a little dated, however very clean. They where starting some remodeling with the lobby the rooms where clean and comfortable, the staff very friendly and breakfast was well above our expectations. They are in a very convenient location.

"Comfortable hotel but needs better swimming pool policy"

4
25/04/2016

Nice hotel. Wish it would allow the swimming pool to stay open later for kids under 18. We can only check-in after 3p, but the swimming pool is banned for kids under age 18 once it's 6p, even if accompanied by an adult. That was one of the reasons why we chose the hotel - an indoor pool. I wish I knew this ahead of time.

"Leisure stay in Mt. Vernon"

5
23/04/2016

Good quality accommodations for reasonable price. The hotel is somewhat dated, however has large rooms, wide hallways, and rooms are clean. Staff is friendly and accommodating. Breakfast is a "step-above" with made to order omelets in addition to the usual breakfast items. Away from the main highways, however close to shopping and restaurants. Good location for tulip festival as well as take-off point for North Cascades National Park and Whale watching at Anacortes.

"Management in need of an overhaul"

2
17/04/2016

The Good - this property has large rooms and an excellent free breakfast offering. The bad- Upon check-in we waited exceeding long as there was only one desk clerk during peak check-in time. The clerk had a name tag which indicated she was a trainee which indeed was borne out by her inability to modify my room rate to what was quoted on the telephone just two weeks prior. In fact after 3 repeated attempts to correct the rate issue I finally just gave up. Upon checking out I was advised that, "hotel management hates for staff to take rewards cards for payment". In the end I just left the payment on the credit card used to make the reservation. Once agian I was working with the trainee and was advised that the procedure for taking rewards cards was very complicated. I use these rewards cards and they are accepted just like any visa card at any other merchant. Not sure what the problem is other than I believe the credit card commission rate is a bit higher than a standard visa card. The ugly - While we went to breakfast we put out the do not disturb sign which we removed around 10:30 that morning. When we returned after our day's activities we discovered that our room had not been cleaned. I reported this to the front desk and was advised that we had a do not disturb sign on the door. I indicated that it was removed by 10:30 and was advised the cleaners came through at 10:00. I was very unimpressed with the management of this property. Location was a bit off the beaten path at the fart north end of town as well.

"Expected better"

3
16/04/2016

We stayed at this hotel April 9-11 when we were in town for the Tulip Festival. We chose this hotel because it was the top rated for Mount Vernon on tripadvisor, and traveling a long distance (from the Spokane area), I wanted to be assured that we would be comfortable and have a good night's sleep. Although the room was comfortable and clean, my husband and I were frustrated by a couple of things: 1. Each time we left the room, our key didn't work and had to be reactivated at the desk. The clerk said an iPhone could wipe it clear, but the key was nowhere near my phone. 2. Our room wasn't serviced because a housekeeper apparently quit on the spot. It's hard to believe that there would be only one person seeing to all the rooms, and without this one person, nothing gets done. This says something about the management and not hiring enough people in order to save on costs. As a paying guest, I do expect the waste baskets to be emptied, the bed to be made, and the towels to be changed. If I have to do these things myself and go to the front desk to get fresh towels, I might as well be home. My husband and I could have chosen to stay at an area hotel that was less expensive, and in retrospect, I wish that we had. We probably would have gotten better service than what we got here. I'm giving this hotel 3 stars instead of 2 because of the location and the cleanliness of the room. The service is lacking and needs to be improved.

"Comfortable"

13/04/2016

Always a welcome place to stop on a long road trip. Always comfortable and relaxing. With all kinds of activities during the year to do locally and not far to go. Beer festivals, wine functions, and flowers. o my!

"Good to go to see the flowers"

3
12/04/2016

My wife abd I stayed here for our anniversary weekend. Clean hotel in need of updates. Food for breakfast was good. Loved tge made to order omelet. Pool not open and the restaurant had just open but the prices...ouch! Overall good bang for your dollar. Minutes from the flower fields and such.

"Best hotel for Tulip Festival"

5
10/04/2016

This hotel is in a very convenient location. Only 15 minutes to Tulip Town and Roozengaarde. Everything in the Skagit Valley was easy to get to yet still not a lot of congestion in the hotel area. The included breakfast was pretty good but not great. Best of all, in my opinion, was that our room was very, very clean. No complaints there. The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful.

"not disappointed"

4
10/04/2016

when we were there they had a new reservation system which was not working properly which frustrated the staff at the front desk. Overall would stay there again. There is a newly open restaurant on site

"In the right place"

5
09/04/2016

Hotel sandwiched between conference center and a fitness center as well as being close to an excellent Chinese restaurant shopping and the freeway. Only a short drive to see the spring tulip festivals in the area.

"Great Budget Hotel"

4
08/04/2016

This is an inexpensive hotel that offers all the basics one needs. It is a rather dated property making it look tired. For the price it is fine and keeps the basic promise of a decent room. The staff was friendly and helpful which adds a star for me. We stayed here because I was having surgery at a nearby hospital which made it a great place for my husband to go to for a rest while waiting for me.

"Great Value, Super Fitness Center Next Door"

4
08/04/2016

It's good quality, nice décor, omelets made to order, and great big fitness and aquatic center right next door. And I'll get a $25 gift card for staying two nights. Only down side was the walls aren't so well sound-proofed, so one night I listened to chatting and sex and the next to a hacking cough. But otherwise pretty quiet considering it's by the highway. I'd definitely stay there again.

"Great hotel, great location!"

4
06/04/2016

I've stayed at this location several times and find it great! I've stayed with my family and on my own and have never had a problem. Safe and quiet location. Great staff, clean rooms. Great breakfast variety too. Nice pool also.

"Great Stay For the Tulip Festival"

5
03/04/2016

Drove up after work from Seattle for an overnight stay during the Skagit Valley Tulip Festival. The check in staff were super friendly and bubbly. The asked my preferences in a room and I got a perfect location. The room was huge with lots of seating and great lighting. There was a really nice bathroom with a great shower. The internet was inconsistent, speedwise but otherwise fine. The bed was really comfy. I really liked the location. Near I-5, shopping and restaurants and an easy jaunt to the tulip fields. I preferred this BW to the other one in the area. Due to heavy traffic during the festival this one was easier to get into and exit. I would definitely stay here again. It helped I got a great deal on the cost.

"Perfect for Tulip Festival Visit"

5
03/04/2016

I drove up on a Friday afternoon for an overnight stay during the Skagit Valley Tulip Festival. I stayed at another Best Western previously but heavy traffic made it a pain. This hotel is nicer and in a better location to avoid the heavy traffic. It's near I-5, shopping and restaurants and is an easy jaunt to the tulip fields. The room was huge and clean with lots of places to sit and lots of lighting, which I really appreciated. The bed was really comfy as well. The checkin staff were bubbly, funny and put a smile on my face. I really enjoyed my stay here.

"Great place to stay for the Tulip Festival"

5
02/04/2016

My husband and I stayed here one night for the Skagit Valley Tulip Festival. Everything about our stay was perfect. The room was impeccably maintained - everything clean and fresh - and well supplied. The free breakfast offered plenty of options, including a made-to-order omelette station, which we were particularly impressed with. We also very happy with the jetted tub in our room. Overall, it was a great value for the money and we would definitely stay there again.

"Good"

5
29/03/2016

Very nice hotel. Good to stay if you are passing through or staying awhile. Hotel rooms are clean, nice, and better then others I have stayed in. There is a train nearby though if your not used to those noises.

"Excellent Staff/Good Value"

4
25/03/2016

The staff was extremely professional/friendly. I stayed for a night with my daughter. I went to the service desk and they said that booking was for a pet friendly room. I never booked a pet friendly room. Their website is messed up. It never told me that the room was a pet friendly room. I let her know that I cannot tolerate pet smells and even though it was a really busy time for them, she figured out a room for us!

"Pleasantly Surprised"

5
21/03/2016

The staff were extremely nice and helpful and the room was way more than I expected. It was huge, clean and very comfortable. I will be back to Mt. Vernon in May and will definitely be staying here then. I won't even look at a competitive hotel chain.

"Business meeting"

3
16/03/2016

This is my second trip to this conference center, it is dated and in need of upgrading but did the trick for 80 people breakfast meeting. The remodeling of the front desk area was in full swing and the paint fumes were overwhelming (windows open on a cold rainy day)

"Checking in was a nightmare...twice"

1
16/03/2016

2016--two stays ...surgery..needed adjoining rooms. My friend came with me to care for me after surgery on my eyes 4 weeks ago, check in was slow and rude but we finally got our two adjoining King rooms. Yesterday was horrible! I was again coming straight from surgery and had again prepaid for two king adjoining rooms. The desk clerk was trying to find two rooms for us. She said all the king rooms were booked but she could give us two queen bed rooms. After about 20 minutes she gave us keys. One room key was not activated and my caregiver had to leave me and get it fixed. Later last night, I called the night desk and she told me that this hotel does not have adjoining King bed rooms! This is either bait and switch or outright lies! Whichever it is,...I want my paid amount refunded or reduced. These two experiences with this hotel have been horrible!

"very good"

4
15/03/2016

Breakfast was excellent, many items to choose from and a wide variety to choose from giving you options, the lobby was being remodeled but did not effect the performance of the staff, as they explained what was going on and doing a good job about it. very big and spacious rooms

"internet wins again"

4
14/02/2016

Hotel and staff were great, facility a little dated but clean. Called Hotel directly to make reservations, They would not match Internet rates, Forced to use internet to get lowest rate. When you do that there is no upgrades available to you. Very frustrating. Each Hotel seem to have there own policies.

"Everything was great!"

10/02/2016

We stayed here one night while on a snow geese photography mission and enjoyed it very much. The woman who greeted us and checked us in was very pleasant and personable. Our room was immaculate and included a microwave, small refrigerator/freezer, a sink and counter in the main area (as well as in the bathroom). The beds were very comfortable with soft, down comforters. The breakfast included in our room rate was quite inclusive: waffles, biscuits and gravy, scrambled eggs, sausage, potatoes, yogurt, hot and cold cereals, omelettes (made to by a very efficient and hardworking breakfast room employee) as well as English muffins, bagels, juices, coffee, etc. The breakfast offerings certainly exceeded the usual. I would definitely stay here again.

02/02/2016

Enjoyed immensely. Very comfortable and quiet. Had lots of pillows that I requested. Big room. Great location.,. I am from here and this is the only hotel we stay in when we visit. I will tell others about this hotel when they want to visit this area. I like the fact that those with pets are put in one area. Excellent idea. Close to shopping and restaurants and our friends and family. Nice to be able to you the Riverside health spa for free.

"Ok place to stay"

27/01/2016

I stayed here one night, it was average for a room, the room was nice sized but quite outdated. I had a ok breakfast. all in all i would stay here again but not my first choice. I would like to see them remodel the place.

"Great breakfast and spacious rooms"

4
27/01/2016

I was here for work and was not looking forward to another hotel stay but my expectations were exceeded. I was very impressed with the breakfast. I am a hot breakfast fanatic and did not expect that at all. They even had an omelette station. The rooms were very spacious and clean. I would definitely stay here again.

"Good place to stay"

4
23/01/2016

I stayed here two nights when I was visiting family in the area. The rooms are very spacious, clean, the beds comfortable and the front desk people friendly. The breakfast was nothing special but it had enough variety so that there is something for everyone. I appreciated that they have fresh fruit. The only negative is the the train sounds in the night, so maybe a bit more soundproofing would be good. If I was in the area again I would stay here again.

"good place to stay"

5
21/01/2016

good clean big room at a reasonable price. Also the breakfast was outstanding with cooked omelets. We loved the fresh baked cookies in the evening. Our room keys kept failing to operate and one of the helpful people at the counter mentioned that a magnet could cause this problem and then later I realized that my iWatch battery is recharged using an electric magnet and it was near where I left the keys.

"Okay Stay – Appreciated the Huge Rooms"

As a frequent guest of Best Western hotels, I was very skeptical when we first pulled-up as this was clearly an older hotel that had been remodeled and upgraded to “Plus” status but as soon as we walked in, I could see that the lobby was huge and nicely redone; however, while remodeled, there were still some signs of age and wear, especially in the hallways, and the pool was outside on the other side of the parking lot. Like the lobby, the rooms were remodeled and huge with a separate counter and sink, in addition to the one in the bathroom, which was very nice with four of us staying in one room and trying to get ready in the morning for the day's exploration of the area. The room had the standard Plus amenities including a flat panel TV, coffeemaker, microwave, mini-fridge and complimentary Wi-Fi. The only issue with the room was that the carpet was badly stained and needed replaced. While I did not see a lot of staff during our stay, those that I did see were friendly and the front desk was efficient at check-out. Parking and breakfast is also complimentary and I felt the breakfast was a bit better than the average Best Western offering. Overall, we had a good stay and liked the huge room; if the carpet were replaced and the condition of the hallways attended to, I would certainly have rated this hotel a four or even a five.

My sister who lives in this area recommended this hotel to us. It was very nice with clean, large rooms. Very quiet, great complimentary hot breakfast with a helpful & friendly staff. Would highly recommend this hotel.

This Best Western Plus is just off the I-5 on a quiet back road. The upper floor rooms provide a view of the hills above Mt. Vernon. The breakfast omelet bar was especially delicious--a new service. The easy access to I-5 and Highway 20 with the many birding sites make this a perfect place to stay for us.

Our 2nd stay at this hotel. Everything was great and we will be staying there again on our next trip. The facility is nice and so is the staff. Beds are comfortable and nice breakfast in the morn. The computers in the lobby made it easy for us to print out airline boarding passes.

"One cold night"

This is a very nice place to stay, clean, quiet and very good breakfast included. However, I have stayed here 3 times, once in the summer and twice in winter months. Both winter stays were the same. The room was extremely cold, This time the outside temp was 28 deg and the room was 30 deg, heat was turned off and it took 4 hours to heat the room to an acceptable temp. The problem was that I arrived at 1:30 AM - so much for a good nights rest! I spoke to the desk attendant and was told the heat is turned off because customers have complained about the rooms being to hot - WHAT??? I won't be staying here again unless they can give me a room that is an acceptable temperature.

When you first approach this hotel you can tell it is an older building from the outside but once inside the you forget. The upgrades are nice, staff friendly and the rooms are spacious and quiet. By far the most comfortable room and beds on our mini road trip. Hotel was quiet at night. Easy access on and off the I5. Breakfast was great, room was clean and lots of choices were offered. Something for everyone. One thing to note is that there is no indoor pool. It appears that they use the pool at the fitness centre next door but kids are only allowed at certain times.

Nice hotel with friendly staff. Nothing super fancy, but did the job well. Breakfast in the morning was very good. Was upgraded to a jaccuzzi suite by being a diamond member...nice perk. Close to a ton of shopping and good restaurants, this was a perfect little one night getaway for my wife and I.

We attended the annual Skagit Valley Wine, Beer & Spirits Festival held at the Convention Center. The room was spacious, clean, and bright. Nice white linens on the bed and in the bathroom. Like that there was a sink on the bar area in the living area, as well as one separate from the toilet/shower area. Relatively quiet, but traffic noise in the morning.

The Best Western in Skagit Valley knows how to get their guests checked in quickly so they can relax and enjoy their stay. I wanted to post a thank you note to the restaurant where we had dinner the previous night and the hotel staff took care of it for me, quickly and efficiently.

Needs some upgrading, especially in lobby area and hallways, we appreciate the fact we can bring our little dog, she is very used to traveling and is a perfect guest (that is why sometimes we resent a high pet fee). In this hotel we did not have a pet fee, but the price for the room was higher than what we usually pay. We have to consdier the exchange rate which is high at the moment and will cost 20 - 25% more in US dollars.

My whole group was overly impressed with the quality, price, and overall experience. We were on our first mountain climbing trip and just found it on the net and what a find it was. I would highly recommend this facility to anyone I know that is heading out that way.

We stay at the Skagit Valley Inn at least 4 times a year and we are never disappointed with the treatment we receive and have booked it for large groups several times. We dont hesitate to recommend the Skagit for any stay in the area and have been happily staying with them for more than 20 years

Our room had an odor when we first got there. Housekeeping immediately tried to eliminate it, but could not. Front desk quickly changed our room and got us moved. All was well after that. Even though there was a soccer team in the hotel, we had no problems with noise. I just wish the mattress was a bit softer. It was quite hard indeed. However, that will not keep us from staying there again. Very friendly, helpful and efficient staff throughout.

"Overall a kind of unpleasant experience."

We arrived about 2:00 in the morning and it was just kind of an unpleasant visit overall. The night desk receptionist was seemed unpleasant in general. I probably was too after traveling for more than 10 hours, but I felt like I was a bother to her to have to check us in. I have two specific reasons for feeling negative about the hotel. First, I understand the hotel is an older facility, but the hallway carpets just seemed really dirty. Secondly, our air conditioner unit froze the second night of our stay and we didn't realize it until around midnight. It just didn't seem worth the hassle to change rooms so we just dealt with it. The hotel is close to our son's home but we will probably drive the extra 10 miles north to stay next time at a nicer facility

"Location better than other Best Western"

We drove over to the Best Western across the freeway and said no-way. This one is nicer and in a better area. The room was typical Best Western clean and comfortable room. The breakfast is muffins, bagels, cereal, waffles as well as hot potatoes, eggs and breakfast meal ... all cooked and not warmed up. We stayed here while we visited Whidbey Island. There are a few restaurants not to far away ... Olive Garden, Sheri's, Dairy Queen (yum), and an outlet mall just up the street.

This is an older hotel. Was very clean and well kept. They offer a very nice breakfast. No problem staying here again on our next trip. The staff was nice and friendly. It is located in a odd area for a big hotel.

The hotel was acceptable and a good value for the month, not elegant but very nice. Best Western could have selected a better location for this hotel, the access is not very good. We had a good sleep and the breakfast while adequate could have been better, but over all it was better than going to McDonalds.

We love coming to Mount Vernon / Burlington and staying at this hotel makes it better. Centrally located, this hotel offers a good buffet breakfast with hot and cold breakfast items and makes for a good start for your day. The room is extremely spacious, and clean. The only complaint I would have, and this is totally out of the hotel's control, is that the train's sound their horns when traveling past. When this happens, in the wee hours of the morning, the sound sticks out against the quiet of the night. They aren't close to the hotel, but if you're in an even numbered room, and you're not used to it, you're going to hear them. But, otherwise, the staff is as friendly as the people that live there (awesome), and it's good to see familiar faces year after year.

Stayed at this Inn for 7 days and my room was neat, clean and large. My spouse is in a wheelchair and the room was large enough for his chair. The staff was polite, friendly and considerate. The daily breakfast was fresh and hot with a wide selection of items to eat.
