I stayed in a kitchenette and the pots and pans all had mold and old crusted food on them. I took them down to use them and i could not even use them due to the filtyness. It was nasty especially since I had planned to stay and cook for my children and me for the weekend.
The outside looks promising & clean. This is one of the few BW that dont know how to seperate & distribute Reward # to each worker from same company, in seperat rooms, using same company credit card. So I didn't receive my Best Western Rewards. The heat in room takes all night to finally get warm. I had to sleep with layers. Upon leaving room, the door doesnt close tight unless you slam it shut. (Hopefully you dont wake anyone up when close door) Also extra blocking look was poorly fixed. (See enclosed photo) The puddy is sheading. Hot water in the sink take a while to heat up but, thank goodness that is not the case for shower. Toilet handle must be held down for about 20 sec to completely flush. Decor is nice, Inside hotel looks nice. Breakfast is good, just would be nice to have a microwave to heat up food.

Rooms were nice and I specifically wanted a kitchenette for cooking. However, the stove top was broken and unusable, there were minimal cooking utensils and no plates, cups, napkins, dish soap, etc. They tried to give us another room where the stove top worked, but the AC and door lock was broken?!!? Not sure why they thought this would work. We decided to cook in that room then go back to our original room. I was very disappointed in the whole thing. The owner/manager did give us 15% discount at checkout. That helped, but for as new as this site is, things should be in better working order.
Clean hotel in Small town Marlin. Room was fun and lobby clean. No problems checking in early. Beds comfortable and nice to have a fridge in the room. Liked there was a king size and queen in room plenty of room to relax

The elevator was broken most of our trip. No attempt to work with guest, we should have been offered some type of discount. Also, not of chairs in the breakfast area. Extremely sad stay this time. We will stay in Waco next year. We will drive further for better service.

Hot in the lobby and hall ways. Several rooms had air conditioning problems and bathroom problems. Rooms were not thoroughly clean, only slightly. Our organization comes to Marlin each year and this hotel has yet to acknowledge that we are staying there to welcome all of us with any type of complimentary items. There are over 200 to 300 of us and we are not allowed to block off a certain number of rooms each year for us before we arrive.

Stopped at this hotel overnight on a business trip. It provided everything I needed and was clean and comfortable. Not much else to say, really, other than I would recommend it if you need somewhere to stay in the area.

With prices in Waco quite high for graduation weekend, we opted to try out this hotel in close by Marlin. Although the distance was >20 miles, the drive was four lane highway and a very easy transition from event to relaxing. The people we encountered working at this location were amazing; so friendly, fast, professional and high-quality, they truly made the visit extra special.
Not a pleasant stay. Will be reaching out to Best Western corporate customer service. I had three (3) different groups attempt to enter room with key; that was unrelated to my party. Front desk issued room to a total of four (4) parties

This Hotel was a great place to stay!! It was very clean. The beds were very comfortable and we all know that is one of the main reasons for choosing a hotel to stay in, is for cleanliness & comfort. I would recommend this Hotel!
The young lady who me checked me in was great. The room was just fine nothing really special. Breakfast was the usual powdered eggs again nothing spectacular. But check out was a challenge that's all I'm going to say about that. Please don't let that be a reason to not stay here. Room was comfy and quit.
We had to call and get the beds remade with clean linen because the old sheets had stains, and hair in the beds like no one cleaned them. The tub had hair in it. They really need to work on cleanliness.
This Hotel is terrible! Our entire family stayed here for our daughters wedding. On average it took at least 20 minutes for check ins. 2 different people came and complained about bed bugs while we were checking in. We had to be moved because they just shampooed the carpet and the floors were soaked. They doubled charged us for a night and are refusing to refund us and wont answer my phone calls when I try to call the hotel now.
On the road from waco to san antonio. From a long trip from indiana ha. Hotel was nice after exploring waco. Warm bed, clean room, nice front staff. Bed was comfortable and shower was warm. The pipes were backwards though cold is hot, hot is cold. Breakfast had some different choices. Overall, not a bad place to stay. Would stay again.
I walked in and it smelled great, throughout the hotel, it smelled great and our room! It was in tip top shape! The bed was a little hard for me, but I slept good when I slept, but would have to turn over a lot! Its our 3rd time at this hotel in the last year and a half! AND we will be back!
In addition to the very convenient location, the hotel staff were very accommodating in allowing us to check in early. We enjoyed the biscuits and gravy and there was plenty of fresh fruit. ac was almost too cold!
I stayed at this hotel two weekends in a row. The first weekend the lightning struck the light pole right next to the hotel. It was storming so the front desk clerk had already suggested that I take the stairs for safety reasons. The front desk clerk always calls when I get to my room to make sure the room is okay and that I have everything I need. Very nice hotel with friendly staff!
The hotel has a great staff working there. Wow, with breakfast is GREAT! so much to choose from, got so full had to go back to bed! LOL. I also like that it was easy access to highway an close to Waco Texas.
Best Western is reliable every time. Breakfast is fine, Internet is good, and TV remote is clean. At this property all of the different room types were the same price, so we took the suite. The staff was polite and helpful.
Aftwr many hours of driving, I found that this hotel was on the path I was taking, the rate was great. After a hot shower I was able to relax and get a good night sleep. I connectly to the internet very quickly and was able to take care of my emails with no problems.
I would recommend this hotel to anyone. The lobby and common areas are kept well, and the room and bathroom, where nice and clean. The bed was very comfortable and the A/C was easy to regulate and keep at a comfortable temp. The full breakfast is good.
I was impressed by the 4+ star rating that this property was given, in both the reviews on Priceline and the placard that adorned the wall. Here are some things that I was not aware that 4 + star hotels had: 1. Self launching toilet seats... Yes! You too can learn the joy of being thrown from your own thrown in a matter of seconds. 2. The wonderful potpourri of Indian cooking. I mean don't we all love the smell of India's wonderful cuisine? I usually like to lose that smell after my second helping of creamed spinach however. 3. Hot water!!! Very hot water... just be careful because it comes out the cold water side of the faucet. 4. Coffee Station... in the restroom. Because nothing is better than the smell of coffee mixed with... well you get what I am saying. 5. The priceless looks... of fellow guests when they look at the breakfast buffet. Here is a tip. Go straight to the cereal and bring your own milk. 6. Shriveled cuties. No... not your sweet grandma. I am talking about tangerines that are now the size of figs and look like them too. 7. Do the dew... Mildew that is. That is what the tap water (and the apple juice and the orange juice) tasted like. 8. Great field trips... the entire town of Marlin closes at 6pm. There is a Pizza Hut that remains open. A trip into that part of town will give you the oddly familiar feeling of what it might be like if Radiator Springs met "The upside down". And finally... 9. The in-room safe nearly destroyed my iPad. I put it in the safe, punched in my code and then hit start... a light came on and the iPad started spinning around. Hmmm come to think of it... that may not have been a safe. One star for cleanliness and one star for friendly service.
The gals at check in were incredibly friendly and after 10 hours in the car, that was much needed. The lobby, public areas and elevators were all very clean. The room was clean and the coffee bar was stocked. The morning of check out, however, I stepped out of the shower to find no towels. When I reported the absence of towels I was told to come down and get some. Here's why that does not work. One, I paid for a room with towels. At this point, it's 6:30 am and I have a timeline to meet. The staff failed to do their job - provide towels- and it is not my job to correct that issue, it is theirs. Two, I'm wet, cold, and without a darn towel as there weren't any when I got out of the shower. Now I'm also l running late for what actually IS my job because, well, I've not got any towels and I have to convince the girl at the desk that I need her to bring them rather than drying off with cocktail napkins and the the bedsheet before running downstairs to do so myself. ?? Breakfast was typical but the breakfast service girl was not. I found her very friendly and always smiling. This offset the lack of towel situation quite nicely and started my day off well.
We traveled to Waco for a business trip but our original hotel botched our reservation. Every hotel in Waco was booked, so we drove out to Marlin to stay at the BW. Turns out it is a great hotel and the drive from Waco is not bad at all. This is a great alternative.
This Best Western is very comfortable. The rooms are large and things are kept tidy. The beds were moderately firm which I like. Breakfast was a nice bonus with hot and cold items. The staff was friendly without feeling overbearing.
First time staying and not sure if I want to stay at another Best Western. I didn't like how they shut the elevators off once the school we were with arrived making us use the stairs and my shower had dirt/mold in it not to mention the over night desk agent was a bit rude
Arrived here and was given room that vibrated, yes . Requested another room and woke up with bugs in the room. Breakfast was not like other Best Westerns. This place be ideal to stay if you were driving to Houston. Only one restaurant and one fast food close by.
If ever trying to book a hotel in Waco and find them all booked I would recommend this hotel, though a 30 minute drive away it's well worth it and great value. It has a country feel and really not that far from major big box store (ie Walmart) and there are several near by business that could accommodate you for those last minute items that are needed.
The BE was in a perfect location for our plans. They recommended El Charro for supper & it was awesome. We visited the Antique shops also. The BW staff was very friendly & good personalities. I will return in Oct. for sure.
Friendly and accommodating staff which took good care of our group even serving breakfast for us earlier than the normal time of 6:00 AM as we had to leave early. Nothing fancy about this hotel but clean and comfortable. We have stayed there each of the past 2 years, so this is my third time staying there.
The Stay there was great. Everyone one there was pretty friendly. This is the best hotel in town. I will always come back to this hotel if I am in Marlin again. Thanks for the great service. See you all next time.
I stay at this particular hotel at least 4 times a year and the service is always great. The check-in process is always quick and easy, no hassle. A few months ago my AC was not working in my room and they quickly put me in another room. They were very nice about it. The bedding needs to be updated soon just because the sheets are wearing out. The rooms are always clean and properly stocked with shampoo, coffee, etc. The breakfast is extremely good and I'm a very picky person! It is always delicious! It's always quiet and peaceful.
Very nice and clean property. Some of the staff was friendly, some not but tolerable well light parking lot. Clean pool and area good breakfast bar. I will definitely be back in the future. Reasonably priced rooms.
We stayed for our family reunion . everything was great! I would advise that you bring more shampoo and conditioner though if you have a lot of hair the little bottle just doesn't work. We slept great and it was quiet!
The beds are amazing. The breakfast is what causes me to keep choosing this motel, especially the biscuits, gravy and bacon. We had a recent death in the family and have made several six hour trips to Cameron to handle family business. I am thankful for the great service we receive here.
I have been staying at the Best Western hotel in Marlin, Texas every sine they opened it up years ago for family reunions. It is a comfortable place and quiet I recommend staying at this location because it at the freeway and easy to commute back and forth on highway 6 North and South. There is a Walmart store down the road and a DQ also. Great location !!!!
Hotel is clean, rooms have coffee makers, microwaves and refrigerators that are nice. Best place in Marlin to sleep but I thought the rate was expensive. I did not partake of the breakfast this trip but in the past it has been good.
Outstanding breakfast. Accommodations were very good. We enjoyed our stay and will stay there again. In Marlin TX, it is the only hotel option and lucky for us it was outstanding All of the rooms we have stayed in have a microwave and a refrigerator and king sized beds
Great location, convenient and well lite. The property was well maintained. The room was clean and the bed very comfortable. Breakfast was good, however the breakfast area a little small. Fast check out and back on the road. All good!
This hotel has been a much-needed, and excellent addition for the City of Marlin. The pool was clean, as was the entire hotel/ Breakfast was wonderful, and was actually a surprise - especially since it was called a "continental breakfast", but was so much more. The staff were all very kind, courteous, and knowledgeable and seemed to go out of their way to ensure we had everything we needed during our stay!
very nice and friendly staff it was a little out of our way but still was very nice breakfast was good but needs to have a person refilling breakfast at all times instead of doing more than one job but would recommend this inn would gladly stay there again
This hotel was a great choice for our stay in Marlin. There was nothing fancy about it, but it was clean, the service was good, and the continental breakfast wasn't half bad. I liked that the rooms had mini-fridges in them. They do not provide shampoo/conditioner in the rooms, but there was a sign in the bathroom saying to ask the front desk for anything you might need. If I'm ever in the are again, I would definitely stay here again.
Stayed on night while traveling from College Station to Dallas. The room and hotel was clean. The lady at the front desk was very nice. The night we stayed the entire town had a power failure. So there wasn't any power for a couple of hours. That was odd but it worked out fine.
Front desk was very helpful Good breakfast They ran out of coffee a couple of times but were quick to refill the pots Clean rooms Pool was nice I keep getting the message that I have to post 200 words Hope this last part does it!
I would stay here again. The location off of the hiway was convenient and quiet checking in and the stay was quiet. We stayed on a Wednesday tho.. We were on our way to Waco and thot of the price difference because of the graduations that were happening in Waco.
We were not sure if we would be happy with our choice when I booked the room. After arriving I can honestly say this will be my pick next time I am in the area! Comfortable room, wifi was great, staff were all friendly and helpful, breakfast choicrs were great.
Satisfied with my stay at the Best Western! My family and I will be staying there again next time we are in town visiting. The room was really nice and the beds were very comfortable. Wifi service was great as well
Very convenient location if heading north on Hiway 6. Rooms were good size, the kitchenette was a nice feature and useful. Staff friendly and helpful and the morning breakfast was well displayed and very adequate. Would recommend to any travelers heading north on 6.
Rooms are great. Clean and fully furnished. Bed is comfortable. However the food is another thing. Horrible breakfast. Wish it tasted better. I love coffee and this one was so watered down and horrible. No flavored creamers. Just small powder packets. I mean c'mon!! You pay so much money they can at least try. I'm not expecting a Starbucks - but try a little!
The room was quite inviting! Plenty of room. I absolutely LOVED the little kitchenette in it. I didn't use it, but it was so cute! AND not a small fridge in the either, BUT not a large/ normal size, it was plenty big enough. Breakfast was OUTSTANDING! It had all the continental stuff, but also had scrambled eggs, bacon, biscuits, gravy! YUM! The bed was very comfortable too!
This was a great hotel. Very clean and smelled new! The front desk lady at check in was very nice. She was actually from my home state which was very neat! The bed was comfortable and the room was quiet! The breakfast was great as well. Lots to choose from. Highly recommend!
We have stayed at Best Western Marlin Inn & Suites on 2 separate occasions and have found it to be a quiet, secure and well run location. The rooms are nice and the suites are spacious. The decor is pleasing to the eye. The staff is cheerful and pleasant. The breakfast will get your day started on the right foot. Overall we have found it to be a restful home away from home.
We received a nice welcome in this hotel. Our room was large and well decorated. The hotel was clean and it was pleasant to stay in the lobby or near the swimming pool. We'll come back if we have the opportunity to come again in this area.
The hotel was clean and service was good! The breakfast attendant was kind- she didn't rush even though we stayed past the closing time. Good help is hard to find --lets hope they keep this sweet woman!
Hotel is clean. The beds were super comfortable. It was a good halfway stop over for us between Fort Worth and College Station for a very quick overnight stop. Some additional toiletries such as a separate shampoo and conditioner would nice to have. Breakfast was average - your typical hotel free breakfast bar.
This is one of the best managed BW my wife and I have stayed in. In this small community they seem to always fine very competent employees from the desk clerks, the kitchen staff, maintenance and maids. they seem all well trained and eager to assist us if they are able. The owner operators should be considered as management for any company owned BW hotels at least in the immediate area.
Room was clean and quite. Breakfast was very good with many choices for all tastes. Convenient location from main highway. Friendly staff and prompt with requests. Will use it again if the occasion requires to travel in that area.
This was our first trip to take our son for a college visit and what should have been a fun exciting time turned bad with our stay here. Our room had a horrible odor which we determined was coming from the A/C and the A/C was not even cooling. The beds were bad and room hot and noisy so we could not sleep. The breakfast was poor with expired creamers for coffee and nasty cold gravy. The internet service was very intermittent. I would not stay here again.
We were arriving after midnight, so we decided not to splurge on an expensive hotel and went with this one just for a clean place to sleep. The hotel was fairly new and pretty clean except for a hair in the fridge. We stayed in room 101 and could see the hotel was not well-built and will run down quickly, but it's good for now. The carpet had an exposed seam and the bathroom door is hard to close. There is an added screw holding the vanity on the wall. But overall it was comfortable and clean. The breakfast was plentiful. We would stay there again.
Everything was great. Beds were comfortable. Staff was very concerned about an issue that occurred concerning another room that we booked and ended up not needing, this hotel took great care of us. Wee were visiting a very sick family member.
The water was undrinkable and was posted as such. The staff was not very friendly and did not offer an alternative for drinking water. The room rate was twice what other name brand motels in the area charge.
When I arrived, the front desk clerk was rude, she acted like it wasn't a big deal when I told her that there was no toilet paper in the room. The breakfast was horrible, the biscuits were hard as a rock and the eggs were fake. I always stay at Best Western when I travel, but I will make sure that I stay away from this location.
Again I am very pleased with the quality of service, the friendliness of the staff, the efficiency of the staff and the overall comfort I experience everytime I stay at this hotel. Love the whirlpool and the breakfast
Location was perfect for us outside of college station after a great football game. Great driving on motorcycle. Hotel very biker friendly and the staff was awesome. The room was spacious and well decorated. The bed was very comfortable. High Cotton restaurant close to hotel and had great food
pool, breakfast, clean rooms and very comfortable bed made our stay a pleasant experience...would stay here again!!! close to highways and town..plenty of lighted parking spaces....free coffee and bottled water in the lobby....good tv and channel choices!
We were in Waco for a football game, and opted for a room in Marlin rather than pay Baylor Parents' Weekend hotel prices in Waco. The Best Western was convenient and clean, but it was a little shabby in some areas, like repairs or modifications had been made then poorly patched or painted over. These were purely cosmetic though, and in no way detracted from the stay. The pool area seemed nice, though we were there at night to relax outside in the chairs, not for a daytime swim. We didn't eat breakfast there, but I did go down and get some bacon and sausage for an early morning snack. The bacon was best left alone...thin and plastic-like, though the sausage was fine.
Well I had been staying at Best Western for about a month in July and I loved it, till one night a drunk girl called me wanting to talk to me. I unplugged my phone and called down to the desk. I told the night clerk to not give my room number to anyone. Five minutes later the desk clerk called up and said there was someone in the lobby for me. It was the girl drunk, after me saying I wanted my privacy. I took the girl to my room to not let her cause problems. But I fell asleep....next morning the desk clerk said I had to leave..I hadn't done anything and she agreed. But I had to go. Why? My house still has not been wired, so I came back tonight. Same desk clerk said that she was told by the owner Mr. Patel to call the police on me. Why? In a month I had caused no problems, spent$3000 and kept my room immaculate. Yet they would call the police. By the way if you stay here learn Spanish once again no English speaking house keeping, rewards are hard to get. And apparently once again a good guest is not appreciated. So far Relax Inn is the Best place to stay in Marlin.
In fact I am still here, Because of my problems with my building I have stayed at every motel/hotel here in Marlin.... But this one is my absolute favorite. It cost alot more, but when you add on the hot breakfast, the office center, the rewards program, the staff and the pool... It is well worth it! The lobby is gorgeous, bottled water and FRESH Coffee are 24 hrs a day. There is a nice gym, guest laundry, clean pool, the staff are awesome! You can ask for anything you need 24 hrs aday and they do their best to get it for you! I love Shannon and Olivia, they are always nice even at the end of a long night when you know they are extremely tired. The rooms are clean, I always check under beds when I am visiting in case the last guest have left something that I dont want. and it is as clean there as it is all over the room. The rooms are huge, some have a couch chair combo, some a hottub and some with a nice kitchen the Breakfast is first class! I am a gourmet Chef.....They should hire me as a concerige/room service.lol The only thing I hated is that it is NOT pet friendly. I do dog walking people! As most know I hate to be away from Hooch. So I go thru alot of emotional stress anywhere without him. Call and Book Stop and say Hi... Im still here! Carla Holland-Strange
I have stayed at the Marlin Best Western before and as always I had a great stay. It is located right off the freeway. There are several good stores located near by such as Walmart. There is a Dairy Queen up the street.
