Best Western Denver Southwest

I work in health services where we have to adhere to strict standards on cleanliness. I was impressed at how clean everything was, the lobby, public restroom, fitness room as well as our own room. Being in the industry I naturally take notice of these things. This hotel would have no trouble meeting our inspection standards.

Front desk rude Asian guy disrespectful. In the morning we went for breakfast and the old lady told us we couldn't come in. She said we had to wait until she was ready, come on, I just wanted some coffee and a bagel for the road to head out to work. The food was sitting there, why couldn't I just get it. She said they open at 6:30, it was 6:30! I just headed over to the gas station across the street. So much for a free breakfast. I will never come to this hotel again.

Not Happy with the staff at front desk Kai was very rude and insulting - Breakfast was supposed to be hot, but instead was cold - Old Lady serving food was very rude and disrespectful - She Doesn't wear gloves when touching our food, she picked something up off the ground and didn't wash her hands before continuing to serve food. Room was not very clean and outdated. I would not recommend this hotel, and I plan on not coming back. Val and Ken

Staff was professional and friendly. Area is very busy even to the point of hectic. Parking lot was clean, but there is lots of foot traffic other than hotel customers. Although they are pet friendly, the only real place to walk your dog is on the very south side of the building. We had 2 differant overnight stays. The 1st room was basic but overall fine. The 2nd room looked like it needed some improvements/replacements like mattresses. Some of the desk area wasnt as clean as it should be but still very usable for a night.

If I could give this place 0 stars I would. There a few staff that are really good but Kai is just awful he is blatantly rude to the guest and is all about making sure you have the money for the deposit even asking for bank statements... I will not ever show my bank statements to any person other than a banker. This is extremely unprofessional. Breakfast was ok other than the fact that the old lady working breakfast never uses gloves when touching the food. She touches her face and multiple surfaces before touching the food. NOT EVEN WASHING HER HANDS BEFORE. It's disgusting and after that I was not able to eat breakfast the rest of the stay. I went else where they had followed correct food policies. I got to see the owner, general manger trying to discuss the issues only for a moment he dismissed me and really only wanted to talk about dinosaurs. The hotel is Ghetto and unsafe. To much crime happing near it. The gas station right in front of the hotel has glass windows to protect the employees. The owner/gm is very unprofessional and has no care about his guest that are paying money to stay there or the safety of his guest. It is an extremely run down hotel that I will never go to again and will never recommend anyone to stay. BOOK ANYWHERE ELSE BUT HERE.

The Dinosaur theme made this a unique hotel. Kids would especially like this and the dinosaur murals. Beds were comfortable and hotel was clean. It had a courtyard with pool. Staff was helpful. Breakfast was good and served by staff. I would stay here again.

I like the hotel overall, and it is a "go to" place for us to stay if we're in Denver for an extended time. The pool and hot tube are great. Lady at front desk was very pleasant and helpful. Even breakfast staff was very nice, but absolutely hate that you cannot self serve on breakfast especially with the teeny tiny juice cups. You have to beg for more hot food and juice like you're Olliver Twist. At least put the juice with the cold self serve stuff, so you don't have to keep waiting in line to ask for more to drink. Hotel is very dated in terms of functionality and amenities except for the pool and hot tub. And as long as there's not a bunch of young kids doing cannonballs in the hot tub every few seconds, that part is enjoyable. Beds could be a bit more comfortable and plugs in room are just completely worn out. There's not enough available plugs and what plugs are available, are so old anything plugged in does not stay plugged in.....this is probably one of the most frustrating parts of staying at this hotel. I will say, I only smelled marijuana one time walking down the hall. At other hotels in Denver, I smell it all over the hotel. I think I've even smelled the staff smoking it at other hotels. So, Kudos to the hotel for keeping that under control at this hotel in Denver....a very hard thing to do.

This Best Western was amazing. The owner collects dinosaur heads etc so they had a whole dinosaur exhibit. Really cool. The pool and hot tub are heated in the winter and I swam all three days in January. It was really clean

Best Best Western we've ever stayed at. Very clean. Very good repair. Good breakfast. Very friendly & helpful staff. Large outdoor pool & pleasant pool area, pool still heated in November. Only negative was Wi-fi good not great. We would rate this hotel as a class 3-star, and will return.

The rooms were clean andwell supplied with toiletries and towels. It was quiet, the breakfast was excellent with good variety and the location convenient to the activities we had planned in the Denver area.

This is a renovated two story motel/hotel with no elevator. It is built around a courtyard pool, The first room we were assigned smelled like dirty dog so I asked for a room change which was an improvement as far as odor was concerned. The guest rooms are small and the sink is not in the bathroom so keep that in mind when traveling with a companion. The beds were OK, but felt a little worn. Same with the pillows. They were dense and lifeless. The lamp by the mini desk had a broken switch. Breakfast was barely a serve yourself buffet with the waffle machine, juice dispenser, eggs, bacon, and breakfast potatoes, behind a counter to be doled out by a mute individual who did not enjoy his job. This location apparently has safety issues as the gas station across the street has locked refrigerators and a cashier behind bulletproof glass. Wouldn't stay here again given a choice.

The property is a little older but well maintained and clean. Great access to Red Rocks and easy access to Downtown Denver. Having breakfast served was fast and efficient and very sanitary. The Dino theme is fun and educational

This hotel was pretty nice, the staff was very nice as well. Only thing is if you get a lower level room, you might get ants in your room. I let them know but nothing was done to prevent the ants from coming in.

This hotel is really cool and unique because it has dinosaur and other paleontology displays in the lobby/lounge. I enjoyed the continental breakfast except for the oatmeal was cold on the second morning of my stay (granted that I didn't make it over to breakfast until they were nearly done serving it). The front desk and staff serving breakfast were courteous, professional, and efficient. I slept well in the queen-sized bed. The Wi-Fi was a little bit slow imho (so it could probably be used for checking email and shopping on the Web but not watching a movie). A towel rack fell down during the last morning of my stay (no big deal), and I couldn't figure out how to reattach it. I notified the front desk as I checked out, and they said that maintenance would take care of it. The one thing that did seem pushy on the staff's part is that someone knocked on my door at 9:30 am on my last morning there to ask if I was staying or leaving. I feel ashamed that I haven't ever learned Spanish, but this person also had a poor command of English and had to use Google voice translate or a comparable app to understand my reply that I would be checking out. Please don't misunderstand, it's the fact that the staff member was pushy and not that she didn't speak English that bothered me. I have never had a staff member knock on my door to ask this during any other stays at other hotels and motels. Overall, me or my wife and I would definitely stay at this hotel when we return to the area because of the dinosaur uniqueness and it was a great value for the money spent.

Best Western Denver Southwest was great! The lobby has dinosaur fossils on loan from a museum which are very interesting. Also, the exterior walls are dinosaur paintings. The room was spacious, clean and odor-free and the bed was very comfortable. I went to the car several times and felt safe. There was a variety of breakfast foods and drinks and the dining area was clean and comfortable. There's LOTS to do in the surrounding area - just ask at the front desk. The Dinosaur Ridge tour was close by and worth a visit!

This hotel was so uniquely fun and unusual with the dinosaur skeletons and even a class on dinosaurs/bones offered to guests. The pool has a different shape and was heated and clean. Front Desk Staff was very friendly and responsive to all questions and concerns. Breakfast looked very delicious (even though we didn't partake because we had other plans). I would recommend this hotel for certain!

I booked a room via an online travel agency. I emailed the hotel directly in advance to let them know that I would be arriving late at night, and they replied that we had accepted it. When I arrived at the hotel, I was told that there were no rooms due to overbooking. According to the hotel, the overbooking was a problem on the agency side (online reservation site) that booked the hotel, so you asked them to talk to the agency, but there was no further response. After that, when I contacted the head office of the hotel chain, I was contacted by email to confirm and reply, but unfortunately there was no contact after that. It can only be said that it is irresponsible to claim only the agency's responsibility and do nothing even though you have agreed to late check-in by e-mail. Don't book this chain hotel unless you want to be left alone in the mid-night. Maybe it's discrimination against oriental people.

Super friendly staff, all of them! What a fun little place to stay. Even full of kiddos having fun, it was private and quiet. The best breakfast I've ever had at a BW. Good job y'all. This is definitely a great place to stay inexpensively.

Dinosaur themed but not in a kid way, more of a historical science Dinosaur themes. Customer service 100% great. The pool was amazing. It was warm and clean. It is in the center of the hotel so it feels comfortable with tables and chairs for relaxing. It is also kid friendly being that the deeper side is seperated by the unique design. The breakfast had variety and was made fresh. They had kitchen staff helping serve and had options like biscuits and gravey. Also the dinning area is open and pleasant, instead of crowded. There is also option to eat outside on a very welcoming patio by the pool but not in the pool area. No matter the reason for.your trip, I would recommned this hotel.

A terrible experience! We booked a suite for us and our adult son 4 months previous to our arrival, via Booking. We received a confirmation and following that several reminders, including one on the day before our June 8 arrival, that the suite was waiting for us. Upon our 11:30 pm arrival, after a long international flight we reached the hotel and were greeted by a desk clerk, who told us that though he knew we had received a confirmation, there was no room for us. We were amazed but after we understood there was nothing to be done, we found another hotel (much more expensive) in downtown Denver that had room for us. I had booked an additional room for my daughter and son-in-law for the following night, and the same clerk told me that their reservation would be honored. Well, the following night my daughter arrived and the same scenario replayed, where they at first told they had a room, and then there was a sudden change in tone and they were told there was no room for them too. The woman who told us that was backed up by a man who claimed to be the manager. They treated all of us in a very demeaning manner and left a truly awful impression. I would advise anyone contemplating a stay here to think again and avoid this hotel at any cost!

The staff on daily were fantastic! Loved the girls at the desk on days and evenings. They went above and beyond. The guy on overnight was helpful when my room card stopped working (which happened almost daily). First room was 1/10- smelled bad, weird layout, phone didn't work, didn't feel safe. Got it changed with no issues from front desk staff. Second room was overall a 9/10. Bed was 8/10 comfort, pillows could have been better- 7/10 Breakfast was excellent- 9/10- waffles, eggs (scrambled), bacon/sausage/ham daily (one of them), cold cereal, toast/bagels, apple/orange juice, coffee/tea. Staff was friendly, accommodating- 10/10

We checked in and were given a key card to room 257, but someone else was already in 257. We walked in on them and woke them out of bed Very unpleasant experience! We got a different room but the key card did not work. We stayed 6 nights and each night our room key had to be reactivated. Very frustrating etsy.

Hotel was very clean and updated in many areas. The cleaning staff was around a lot and working hard, which was appreciated. The hotel was in a very quiet location. Easy access to major roads and very close to groceries, food, coffee - anything you need. Highly recommend for a quiet stay as you are passing through town.

Very friendly and helpful front desk staff. No elevators! Very cramped bathroom - had to move over by the toilet to be able to close the bathroom door. Very small single sink. Lighting very dim in the room. Room was clean, beds were comfortable. Breakfast was pretty good with some outdoor seating. Fine for a night or two.

Incident happened n there was cops surrounding the hotel. No staff or manager updated us as to what was going on. SWAT team was walking thru hallway with guns out. Horrible experience for my son to see

We stayed at this BW for 3 days in January. Thank goodness we had our swimsuits from a previous hotel stay a few nights earlier. We swam the heated outside pool in freezer weather while it was snowing. Our grandsons loved it. All of the staff was very helpful and friendly! Breakfast - good selection of hot and food.

A very clean hotel. Quite. Spacious. Great breakfast. We enjoyed the room, our first time with our little dog. Asked for seclusion and was given a great room away from most others. I would complain about bathroom design. Really hard to get in, close door by toilet. But other than than, we were satisfied.

Great value for what I paid for the room. Comfy beds and very clean bathroom. The only reason it is not a '5' is that the breakfast is spooned up for you. It's not buffet style. Very fun and cool dinosaur decorations everywhere. They're not corny. Skeletons and archeological 'dig' images everywhere. Fun for kids and adults to check out.

Me and my friends booked rooms for this hotel and it was very close to the red rocks venue and the rooms were clean and breakfast was good the housekeeping lady was very friendly she did a good job with out room I don't remember her name but she was super friendly

My husband and I stayed here for almost a week. From the outside this place looks very boring so we did not expect much. When you enter the hotel lobby and you see the decor, you start to realize looks are deceiving. The pool is probably the greatest amenity this hotel has to offer. There is a zero entry on one end, and a deep end on the other. The pool is not your traditional square pool and has lots of curves to it, providing lots of opportunities to lean up against the wall and socialize. It also provides the necessary private space that you don't get in a traditional pool. The pool is very warm and we were told by the maintenance man that it is always kept at 84° all year. All staff definitely help each other: they might be folding towels, working the desk area, cleaning the hallways, setting up breakfast, or serving you waffles in the morning at their very tasty complementary breakfast. The hotels location is perfectly central to the surrounding cities. We were able to go to Colorado Springs one day, Red Rock the next day, Silverthorne, and Fort Collins. Another great picture is the free parking. I would definitely stay again.

This hotel was nicely updated with clean room and quality basic amenities. Rooms were clean and decent size. Be prepared for a small toilet/shower area, but the walk-in shower was a nicer touch than a traditional tub/shower. Pictures online showed a fridge and microwave, these were there but tucked inside a cabinet/dresser under the TV. Breakfast was good. For younger children the hotel features a dinosaur/fossil theme throughout the stairwells, lobby and outdoors.

There was no open restaurant or bar, even though one was advertised. Breakfast was very mediocre. Very small bathroom, not easy for older adults to use. I would not recommend this motel. I am sure there are others which are better,

We chose this location as it was central to what we wanted to do. We flew in to attend a concert at Red Rocks. The breakfast had great selections but had a server that was sullen and you had to get your food from him. Male night clerk made us retrieve our own towels from upstairs storage closet and complained that he had to walk up to unlock it even though we had requested them to be replaced before we left for the day. The hotel pool looks beautiful which is a plus. The common areas are beautiful but the rooms are so outdated and dingy.

The room was dirty. Carpet, curtains, ottoman, all had visible stains. Staff were not helpful in resolving. The pillows are half size. They fold up the excess fabric of the pillowcase so it looks like a throw pillow. There should be a better way of notifying guests that the property doesn't have an elevator and you may be expected to haul you luggage up a flight of stairs.

Had to wait 5 minutes for staff to show up to check in. Room door lock would not function properly, requiring extreme handle gyrations that may or may not have worked. Key cards lost their ability to function. Outer doors didn't respond to key card that worked on the room. Occasional snail-pace breakfast service plus occasionally surly-looking staff behind the breakfast counter; food itself was pretty good. No elevator. Clean room, nice outdoor hot tub and pool. Entertaining dinosaur exhibits.

I was really excited to try this hotel because my toddler loves dinosaurs, but the overall experience was just okay. The room and facilities are nice, but as others have noted, customer service can use some improvement. We stayed here for 3 nights. The first day we were there, about half an hour after getting into our room I found there was a huge piece of metal sticking out of one of the beds. I unfortunately found it with my leg, where it left a serious bruise and baseball sized lump that I still have, 4 days later. I went to the front desk to notify them of the issue and was only asked if I wanted a band-aid. It was slightly patronizing and I didn't appreciate the fact that it couldn't be fixed then as we had a clumsy 3 year old with us that I could see it doing serious damage to if she fell on it. I was told to talk to management the next day. So, taking matters into my own hands, I taped one of their hand towels around the bar to keep anyone else from running into it. The next morning I let the manager at the desk know, and she didn't really seem concerned until I showed her the picture of the metal and said I'd already injured myself on it and was trying to prevent someone else from getting hurt. She said they would add bonus points to my best western account as compensation. We left and were gone for a few hours and when we came back, the bed was fixed, but no one had notified us that people would be entering our room while we were gone. Nothing was out of place, but I'm not a fan of people in my room when I'm not there and all my stuff is. On the second day we were there our room keys were deactivated while we were out. The door handle to our room was difficult at best and you had to jiggle it up and down to try and get it to open, sometimes taking several key swipes to get in. It was just a disappointing stay.

Pillows are small, beds are stiff and our membership with Bestwestern was not even acknowledged and we are diamond members. The clerk when we checked in could barley speak or understand the English language and his appearence was quite dissheveled. Henry Jameson

Good features: (1) Place has a dinosaur motif - lots of bones and artifacts in the lobby and dining area, lots of murals all around stairs and exterior walls, there's a 'dino expert' on duty 7am-10am Fri-Sun in lobby, with lots of toy dinosaurs to do 'show & tell.' (2) Generally quiet area - it's set of the main road by a side street, with plenty of parking. (3) Beds and rooms comfortable. (4) Hot breakfast with variable choices each day - sometimes link sausages, sometimes corned beef hash, etc., although their potatoes were less than MacDonald's quality. Not good features: it's a pet-friendly place, and they do try and locate pets along one or two of their four 'wings.' Except we are not dog owners, and were put into one of the 'dog wings,' unbeknownst to us, for our 5-day stay. Generally not a problem, except next door to us there was a 'yapping' dog over the weekend. Their owners just left the dog alone in their room for hours at a time, and the dog was understandably upset and constantly yapping and whining. We complained to night manager, who simply stated: "dog owners do this all the time, there's nothing I can do since they're not in their room." He suggested we take it up with manager in the morning, which we did. She stated that night mgr could have called the dog owners on their cell and told them to come back to room, since hotel has everyone's cell phone numbers. She also said we could have requested a room away from dog wings when we first checked in, but how is one to know to ask for that? We suggested that in the future they have a sign at front desk that states just that - if you don't want to be in the dog wings, ask for a room in the non-dog wings. Manager did give us 10% off our bill for our inconvenience. Note: We don't dislike dogs; we just dislike bad dog owners who leave their pets unattended for hours at a time in a strange room

In my three day stay at this hotel all my expectations were met. The room was the right size, clean, and kept at a comfortable temperature. All the amenities were available as promised. The staff was friendly and willing to help. I enjoyed working out in the exercise room. The ice machine worked. The price was reasonable with the multi-day discount. I would probably stay there again.

Great location for Red Rocks concerts! This was an unexpected GEM! Super clean environment, friendly staff, fantastic art, cool pool/hottub, fast Ubers! Close to anything and everything we needed for a concert date weekend!

We had a room on the ground floor overlooking the pool. We only heard people one night, the soundproofing was great. We were in town for a graduation open house, this hotel was the lowest price and had the highest reviews. It lived up to our expectations. We had 3 families staying at this location and they all agreed after visiting other family members at different hotels that this pool was the best. Breakfast is great, the waffles lived up to their reputation. We found the staff to be friendly and accommodating. It will be our go to hotel when visiting family in Denver from now on.

We experienced not only great service and friendly staff but a unique almost misuse quality to this hotel. Befor we checked out we got to ask questions form a Dino expert and touch some bones. The breakfast was amazing with hot options and plenty of food. We would definitely stay here again the pool in the courtyard is so cool. Thank you for being a lovely facility for my family to stay!

Sooo very clean and exceptional front desk staff… great breakfast. A Small quaint town and great stopping place from Denver to Zion. Tamarisk restaurant has good food. Try the fried Navajo bread. A find!

Arrived around 10pm after all the airline and rental car issues to find out my room I reserved and pain for months in advance was not available, when I got frustrated from this and the tiredness of the long day, Jazmyn at the desk told me well maybe you shouldn't be traveling then, she was rude, argumentative, amd just down right nasty, so she sent us to another hotel for the night and they acted like they were doing us a favor by offering to cover the room... funny part is their credit card was declined when we checked out, luckily for us the Marriott didn't give us any headaches about it and sent us on our way. Stay clear of this place. Oh and the Sales Manager as she's called Christina wasn't much better, and when I let her know how we were treated she just kinda smirked and that was it.

We had 4 families traveling together, booked 4 rooms over 2 months prior directly through the hotel. When we arrived, we were told there were only 3 rooms available, the 4th room was canceled by the manager, no explanation of why or when. Never notified us before we arrived. The pool looked dirty, the kids wouldn't get in the water. There were stains on the carpet and the rooms smelled bad. On a positive note, the staff were friendly and apologetic for the room mix up. Breakfast staff were nice and the food was good.

We had an issue with the first room we were assigned, very strong smoke smell. The staff was very helpful in finding us an alternate room in a booked-up hotel. The smoke smell was confined to just the one room as we did not experience any other problems throughout the remainder of the hotel. Plus, they do provide a substantial military veteran discount.

This hotel had lots of interesting dinosaur paraphernalia, books and even a person who gave a talk on dinosaurs in the morning between 7:00 and 9:00 a.m.. also there was a huge area next to the hotel that you could walk your dog. Would highly recommend this hotel before kids and pets

Although the hotel is a bit dated it is clean and comfortable. The only downside is that the walls are paper thin and we could clearly hear conversations from the adjoining rooms. The staff were friendly and the free breakfast was ok although the dining area is quite small.

We traveled for a week and stayed two nights at the Best Western Denver Southwest. This hotel is not just surviving post-pandemic it is thriving. It was the best stay on our road trip and rated far above the other chain brands we tried in the Denver and Colorado Springs area. This location restored my hope in hotels as I was starting to think I'd have to lower my expectations way ,way down. Is it absolutely perfect? No ,but that's a tough ask right now. Did it check off all the things I was looking for.? YES and then some. The room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast tasted great. I enjoyed the outdoor pool and hot tub. The staff that I encountered all seemed to have the guest in mind and were working hard to serve. If you have not been using hotels recently can I just say the entire industry seems to be hard-pressed yet this Best Western is finding a way through.

This hotel was adorable! I loved the dinosaur theme, the staff was incredibly helpful and kind, the breakfast was super tasty and had gluten free options! I chose this location because it was only 16 minutes from Red Rocks Amphitheater, about 90 minutes from RMNP, and less than 30 minutes from Meow Wolf! The location allowed us to fit as much in of our 4 day trip as we could! The pool was also a great extra, it was so warm!

A very cute and unique hotel. Great for kids and easy access to main roads if driving around the city. Near good walking paths and quiet. Great pool with hottub that makes being near the kids easy with privacy of being in the courtyard. Bathrooms are small but manageable.

The staff were not helpful and didn't answer my calls. No one was ever available. The carpets in my room had cigarette burns all over them and were dirty. The room felt dirty. They were not going to give me clean towels or empty my trash until the 3rd day. The coffee was old and bitter. The staff were rude. The food that wa wrapped in Saran Wrap was old.

This hotel has got a cool dinsosaur theme going. It was intereesting to see the display cases and artifacts! The rooms were clean, quiet and the shower had plenty of water pressure. They had a staff member serving a hot breakfast. Would definately stay here again!

We stayed one night on a cross country road trip. I was so excited for the dinosaur features that we left our house at 3am to arrive at a decent hour to enjoy the hotel. Unfortunately, the features are a bit lacking - pretty limited to the small lobby and rather dusty. But arriving earlier meant enjoying a nice impromptu hike and dinner, so it was worth the early wake up. The woman who checked us in was friendly. The room was clean and comfortable with a hot, well pressured shower. Bed was comfortable, which was so lovely after 14 hours in the car. Only downsides - no breakfast until 6:30. We needed to get on the road by 6 so we missed breakfast. I understand not having the hot food ready that early, but if the cold food or grab and go (like cereal) could have been available, that would have been nice. Also, the gentleman who checked us out might have been sleeping. My husband had to sort of holler “hello” and he eventually came out yawning in a hoodie. He wasn't rude or anything, but it wasn't the most professional. Overall, a nice stay for a acceptable rate.

Great staff, accommodations, and clean rooms. The price was reasonable for the quality of the hotel. The pool and hot tub are a plus. We will def stay here again. The location is convenient to shopping, etc.

I love staying at this motel, you can see the mountains, the fitness center is great and I love the pool too! Everyone here is so kind and accommodating, I highly recommend it. They even remember my name on return visits!

Stay was reasonably priced, hotel staff polite, patient, and accommodating, clean room, and overall a wonderful themed hotel. Hotel is further south, so often a drive to get to where you need to be, but is a nice location nonetheless.

We really enjoyed this hotel! It was clean, conveniently located, and we loved the heated pool and hot tub. The staff were all friendly and helpful. We stayed in the King suite and it was spacious, clean, and comfortable. We wish the bed had been more comfortable and that the pillows had been normal sized (they were square and small), but otherwise it was a great room!

It's a Monday night and they're allowing a party to go on in their outdoor pool (it's -7). Would be a lovely hotel if it wasn't for the complete lack of respect for other guests. Maybe warn people - your room over looks the heated pool and your windows have no sound proofing. Don't waste your money.

Great pool and hot tub. Very skimpy breakfast controlled by one person, so you have to wait in line for breakfast. If you're in a hurry, forget it and they only give you enough to feed a small child after waiting in line. The amenity isn't worth it if your'e comparing with other hotels. Great Business Center, hotel is updated, but still shows it's age in other ways. Bring an extra electric strip or two as there are few plugs in the room. Gym is standard gym but could be updated. Needs hand weights Bear in mind no elevators, so long term stays may be questionable if you're older and staying for longer-term. Refrigerator/Freezer in room is tiny, also challenging for longer term stays. Love the dino theme though....great for kids.

I use this motel on occasion when I travel to Denver for shopping - it's convenient, comfortable, clean, and well maintained, and the staff are great. The location is good, close to the highway, shopping and restaurants, rooms are very quiet

I loved the dinosaur theme! On the weekends a dinosaur expert gives a talk in the lobby. We weren't able to go, but the one time we walked through the lobby during the talk, it was standing room only! The breakfast was good, the usual fare was scrambled eggs, hash browns, sausage, bacon. Plus fruit, cereal, juice, bagels, etc very good coffee. One morning they had biscuits and gravy that were very good, I'm a Southerner so I know! They serve you, which I liked. The one thing that will bring me back to this hotel is how accommodating they were. We had our pre-teen granddaughter with us, she had to rehearse for a dance performance. Her teacher had arranged for a Zoom class. There just wasn't going to be enough room in our room. The very kind lady at the desk let her use an empty conference room for the rehearsal. That was really over and above! The only detraction is that there are no elevators. I have a hard time with stairs, but will keep that in mind for next time and request a ground floor room. I didn't expect the pool to be open in Nov, but the website did indicate a year round hot tub. Hot tub was broken and wasn't fixed during our stay. Amenities were nice, the staff was very friendly and gave us extra shampoo and lotion. They only clean the rooms every 3 days due to short staffing. Perfectly acceptable. Plenty of towels and pillows. The hotel is pet friendly. I have very bad allergies, but everything was clean so I had no problems. The hotel is old, but I thought very nice. The bed was comfy. There is a restaurant/bar, but they already closed the one time we wanted to check them out. I would recommend this hotel highly! Hopefully they fix the hot tub!

It sucks when you have to purchase your own universal remote to connect a game system or Apple TV to change the channel to HDMI or “input”! The fire alarm went off multiple times, which was annoying. A group outside played loud music at the pool for hours which affected my sleep. It just wasn't an enjoyable day stay

During my stay here every staff member I interacted with was very helpful, professional, & friendly. That includes the front desk as well as the restaurant. And my room was clean & allowed me to get the rest I needed. :-)

This is a older hotel but it was Very clean. We LOVED the pool & hot tub. Full breakfast was Great. Hotel employees very helpful & friendly. If we ever go to Colorado again we will definitely stay here again.

This is one of the best hotels I have ever stayed at. For a simple, non-luxury trip, it can't be beat. The rooms were clean and comfortable and stocked. The staff were amazing....the front desk took time to provide detailed directions to lost travelers, help customers get signed up with rewards, and answer all questions. The housekeeping staff was super friendly and made sure you had what you needed. The breakfast team was great and accomodating and the food tasted awesome. The dinosaur theme and decor was an added bonus but made the trip SO FUN. We even attended a "dino talk" to learn a little bit while we drank our coffee. I don't know that I'll ever be able to go to Denver again and not stay here. I think I'm going to be a customer for life!

This is a great property and a great location to Red Rocks, Belmar, Golden and all the things on Wadsworth. However, the hotel is filled with dinosaur carcasses. A few would be interesting, but it is way too much. The staff is very nice, the rooms are spacious (expect the toilet/shower area) and the hotel was quiet. Doing their best to serve a hot breakfast during COVID and it was very adequate. We would stay here again.

When we got there the first room they gave us had an oder and the one bed was flat, the second room the one bed kept sliding off and you felt like you were going downhill! the breakfast was good though

Was an amazing stay, speedy check in with a helpful map of the hotel, and a breakdown of everything they do. The room was clean, and the pool area was maintained well and the hot tub was exactly what we needed to start our vacation.

We were in town for a concert at red rocks and this is a convenient location for that as well as many good restaurants etc in the area the hotel was clean with a nice pool and small lounge area the staff was very helpful locating things to do

We decided to take a few days for ourselves and wanted to take advantage of some of our reward points. We know that your rooms are always clean and so far for us your staff has been awesome. Had an excellent time

We checked in late Sunday evening and were told the Restaurant/Lounge was closed Sunday and Monday. So for me that meant 2 of the 3 days I wouldn't have it available as I had planned when I chose this property in the first place. There was a cooler with water and an assortment of pop for purchase, along with a very small selection of chips and chocolate. Asked for extra pillows and was told "we don't do that" During two of the three nights there was ongoing "furniture moving" in the room above or to the side - couldn't tell which. It went on off and on through the night. Didn't have maid service after the first night or second - went to desk and was told they only clean every third day. Asked for towels and they were delivered, then maid showed up and put them away and emptied garbages. (???) On positive side, the property is located within easy drives to a lot of shopping, an urgent care center, etc. and was a fairly easy drive to and from the Red Rocks Amphitheatre. And not so bad really to and from the airport.

As always the hotel and staff was top notch. The rooms are clean. There was hot coffee in lobby. The guest laundry was very affordable. Everytime I travel to South Denver I stay here for business. What a great stay.

Place has stellar service and that makes for great value. The building includes an outdoor play area for toddlers. The outdoor pool has an amazingly fun layout and the hot tub is large and very clean.

This is an excellent Best Western. A little hard to find the first time as it is off the main street by about a half a block. Great breakfast and good location. All doors except front lock at 10pm so you need to park up front if you get back after 10.

The Hotel location is good. Staff is very friendly. I was glad that they are back serving hot breakfast. Price is good. Overall, good place to stay and would recommend it to any one looking for an affordable yet good place to stay.

I don't get it from a king sweets to a to bed Queen for 2 days 1 night I was quoted 3 65 for the days and the one night that we stayed yesterday checking my bank statement Best Western actually charged me $827 for those two days and one night we stayed in a room that wreaked of cigarette smoke Halls that smells like urine and the carpet in the interior of the decor was so outdated it was ridiculous $1,000 seriously a bunch of rip offs I will never stay there again

The front desk service was very detailed and very friendly. The hotel seemed pretty clean but could maybe use some updating. I didn't understand the dinosaur décor and it looked like it could either use some updating or just removal, it didn't really add anything to my experience. The pool area looked like a great place to relax. I didn't notice an elevator for the second floor and had to carry my own bags up the stairs. Pretty good location if wanting to go to Red Rocks.

I loved the dinosaur casts and theme, and the rooms were nicely furnished and clean. Our A/C didn't work (which was, strangely, a theme for us on this vacation. Possibly Colorado doesn't take A/C as seriously as Texas?), and there was no elevator--as we were on a long trip and were heavily laden, this was a drawback. Ask for a ground-floor room if you travel heavy or have any kind of impairment. Still worth it for the cleanliness and the uniqueness.

The hotel has a dinosaur theme both in and out. It is convenient to restaurants, stores and downtown. The overall decor is a bit dated but the grounds and rooms are clean. They had just started up breakfast again during our stay and it was handled very well due to COVID restrictions.

Yecch! avoid this place, business or otherwise. The lobby was dirty, windows filthy, there was something yecchy on the carpet of the room, so covered at night with a shoe, cops there (in lobby) two out of a four night stay, this in not the same place as it once was-stayed there before a few years ago, was better then, Internet worked good, Service was just OK,

The hotel was very clean and amazingly decorated. The dinosaur theme was exquisite. Very comfortable. No Mountain View but the bar at the end of the day was a nice touch. Usually a nice breakfast is available although covid restrictions changed the outcome of this. Would definitely stay there again.

The pool and jacuzzi were great! Staff were excellent and accommodating. The room decor was very bare, but everything was comfortable and functional. I am a frequent Best Western customer for their reliability, consistency, and good prices. Nothing fancy at this location, although the lobby decor with the jurassic theme was interesting and fun. Did not stay long enough to take advantage of the bar/lounge. A restaurant on-site would have been appreciated but learned there are restaurants not far away.

This was a nice place to stay although feels dated compared to some other places in the area. There is no hot breakfast! Other places now offer that, so go there. Somewhat disappointing. Good staff on hand but just lacks that quality that BW is known for.

The hotel smelled of weed and we even had a fire alarm in the middle of the night due to excessive smoking in a guest room. We had previously complained because we had two young kids with us but the front desk personnel did nothing.

I would recommend this hotel to anyone. The property was clean, the staff was professional, and attentive. The pool was by 1 hour appointments, but we had a blast swimming the pool! They served a hot breakfast of hand made burritos or biscuits and gravy, plus sides. It's a nice place to stay!!!!

I had the experience of staying at this hotel for 2 weeks and it became a very comfortable and friendly stay. I felt taken care of by the staff and found the room and the amenities very much to my liking. I would highly recommend this hotel for a short or long stay.

Such a fun hotel. Decorated with dinosaur bones in the lobby. Heated pool and hot tub was a great place to visit with friends. Warm enough to enjoy in cool night air. Such a bargain too. I have paid more to stay in bargain motels.

The outdoor heated walk-in pool with hot tub pool is far better than most indoor pools. The location is right of the main highway though hidden behind the gas station/carwash. The dinosaur decor is very informative and quite interesting.

Besides a incoherent service desk lady ... Only one out of all of them. This place was great. Even the Handyman.... Good location and very clean. Hot tube and pool area was very sterile and clean.Try it just pray you get the nice service desk lady.Trust me

we stayed here Feb 28 - March 4 on wed march 3 someone set off fire alarms because they were smoking in their room , not just cigarettes either, the smoke was so bad it burned your eyes, the fire department came at 1030 pm the smell of cig and marijuana smoke was so bad that night and the next day you could barely breath, the manager did nothing about it, so if you want to smoke in your room heres the place to stay @!

I really love this hotel and stay here when I am in Denver visiting friends and family. It is comfortable, clean (especially noteworthy in a pandemic), and great for pets. The staff is lovely. I also really enjoy the dinosaur theme -- it's entertaining for adults as well as kids!

Rooms were very clean and sanitized. Great location with restaurants department stores and gas stations within walking distance. Staff very friendly, quiet place. Only negative, make sure you request a itemized receipt for your complete stay. Was charged more than agreed upon with staff with multiple transactions. Besides that, excellent place to stay.

Hotel was quiet and not occupied too much, got great sleep, Wi-Fi went down daily, but other than that, we will be back...this was our 2nd stay at this hotel. Very Good Value.for the money. Location was excellent, we had 3 small dogs with us, and this was a great Pet friendly hotel.

I stayed one night here while visiting friends in the area. I'm sorry I didn't read the reviews before I booked. The common areas were not clean, and most of the occupants were not wearing masks despite signs everywhere. The carpet was filthy. The back door near my room was propped open with a rock and anyone could have come in. There were quite a few shady looking characters around. The hallway smelled strongly of cigarette smoke. The staff was friendly, but I would not stay here again.

It was fine but you need to ask guest services for any type of hospitality services-including emptying garbage. Also the breakfast choices was bare minimal. I've stayed in many BW during Covid and this was the most basic breakfast by far

Prostitution, Drug Dealing, Violence at this hotel. The check-in took over 20 minutes with nobody in line, the hotel staff had trouble finding me a room even though I pre-booked, and there was prostitution, drug dealing, and violence at this hotel. We left after a few hours for our safety.

Jackie at the front desk treated me as I was the only guest. She delivered 110% guest service and it made me feel as my stay here at Best Western was truly appreciated. So, thanks to Jackie for her amazing guest service.

It's pretty sad. This neighborhood used to be very nice so staying here was perfect. During my last two stays here, I've realized there a lot of homeless folks both living in the hotel itself and the back parking lot. It just was a little freaky and made me feel weary of walking out to my car after dark.

Everything was wonderful. The room was clean and updated. The pool was a heated outdoor gem. The bar was well stocked and the young woman bartender was polite. The breakfast was prepackaged Togo bags. How wonderful. An alarm did go off quite loudly but was stopped shortly. I wish folks would stop trying to smoke in their rooms. A great value as well.

This is a great hotel for the family. Great sized pool, was very hot when we stayed so great way to cool off. The Dino fossils and murals are fantastic. The room was a standard size and had the usual amenities. Covid regulations were strictly enforced including not being daily cleaned unless requested which meant less chance of infection.

I have been here 2 times, once in 2019 & once in 2020. Both times were very good. Very clean with friendly staff. No problems encountered either time. Covid made the breakfast in 2020 more limited, but it was really good in 2019 in May.

All I can say is usually I'm satisfied with Best Western but this time they had failed me this time I had been charged double the price for my stay for only two nights and I ended up paying over $400 that's ridiculous I have not been reimbursed and furthermore there was a guy in his underwear who kept trying to get in my room and nobody ever even do anything about it the room was smelly and not well ventilated and there was no beverages to purchase at all really so really disappointed and no breakfast thanks covid and thanks that's Western LOL

We waited three years for my daughter to be old enough to go there and enjoy it and overall we were very pleased. Some customer had been smoking in the hallway and we were not happy about having to walk through that. My father pulled back the bed cover and found dirt under it; someone had folded it back, put a dirty suitcase on it, and it wasn't noticed when housekeeping put new sheets on. The top sheet was dirty. Otherwise? Staff was excellent and friendly. Our room was spotless. Check in/check out was easy, front desk was wearing a mask (correctly!). Lobby was super clean, no dust there either. Absolutely no complaints from me in my room, a dirty top sheet on one bed from the other room. And the dinosaurs? Awesome. My daughter was thrilled and took picture after picture with them. The hotel isn't reponsible for some jerk smoking and making us walk through it, and that was the only problem. Hotel and hotel staff? Absolutely excellent, PLUS DINOSAURS!

People getting high in their cars out back, entrances unlocked to unsavory characters wandering in, no smoking policy laughable and clearly unenforced. Rooms reek. We ended up canceling our reservation and going somewhere else cheaper and less sketchy. They couldn't get us an adjoining room for our minor children, and it's definitely not the kind of place you'd feel comfortable being separated from your kids for any reason.

Staff was kind and friendly. Jaqueline was so helpful making our reservation. The gentleman working breakfast was extremely kind. Pool was awesome, kids can't wait to go back!! Next time we are in the area we will stay for sure!!

This hotel is consistent in cleanliness and friendly, efficient staff. Very conveniently located to the foothills and Interstate. Feels safe here and if breakfast at the hotel is not sufficient, especially now when limitations are being placed on seating in the in-house restaurant, there is a lovely Yum Donut Shop nearby!

We planned on staying for just one night. Everyone was so nice, from the front desk to their bar/restaurant staff to their housekeepers.we ended up extending our stay twic to five nights. We loved how quiet it was, although it is a block from two main arteries. We loved the dinosaur themed lobby, pool and rooms. The pool is special (in a nice way), it's not blue or rectangle. Perfect for a family.

Hotel's cleanliness is impeccable. Amazing staff. During our 13 day stay could not have asked for a better experience. With the Covid 19 our first concern was cleanliness but from the moment we drove into the parking lot until we left the staff ensured everything was clean and our safety a priorit . Very nice accommodations, between the nice rooms, the beautiful night sky view from the pool and hot tub, to the relaxing snack and drinks in the bar/lounge we had a wonderful stay. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

Rooms were small and prices high. Too many false-alarms including one at 4 AM! Allegedly due to smokers staying inside instead of going out in the snow! DEspite being told initially that there was no limit to my stay, I was given little notice that my stay was being limited to 2 weeks - apparently the manager didn't like that my dually pick up truck hung one of its wheels in the zebra striped area next to my handicapped spot for which I had a placard. He wanted that extra space to be able to swing into "his" (unmarked) parking spot. I explained that a cop had been illegally parked across from the handicapped spot so I was unable to swing as widely as I usually did, hence the "hangover". I also explained that my doctor had emphatically told me to avoid ice while I was recovering from a number of medical issues. Quality Inn provided me with a bigger room, for $20 less a night and no false alarms nor parking complaints!

This has been our favorite hotel in the Denver metro area. The staff is always happy and friendly. Yamissia, Christina, Elena and Paul have exceeded our comfort here. There is a a full free breakfast and heated pool/hot tub and workout area. Nothing beats the hospitality and comfort we have experienced staying at Lakewood South Best Western. I love the reptile theme- since my nickname is Lizard. This place just feels like family. We love it here!

My brother in law picked this hotel so for convenience, my husband and I stayed here too. I'm so glad we did. Pros: low price v the value, amazing breakfast with real tasty eggs, and great tasting sausage links and yummy hash browns. We stayed 3 nights and the breakfast was great each time. The selection was what you would expect both hot and cold food selections but the food tasted good which made the breakfast SO good. The dinosaur decor was authentic and amazing. My adult kids would have even enjoyed it if they had been with us. Our room was spacious and the bed was comfortable. Our bathroom was adequate size. Con: outdoor pool only. There is a hot tub which we saw people using. Frankly for me not having an indoor pool wasn't a deal breaker. I will definitely come here again the next time we need a hotel in this area. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

Not a fan of the small toilet/shower area. Sink is separate with very little counter space. Inadequate lighting for putting on makeup etc. No light at entrance of room which made seeing stuff in closet area difficult. No elevator so if you have difficulty with stairs, request a ground floor room.

Nice hotel. Interesting decor with all the dinosaurs scattered throughout the property. Interesting historical lessons for the family. Bathroom a little small but everything was clean and working. Nice spread for breakfast.

We had wonderful service, clean rooms, quiet room,excellent full breakfast. The only thing was the very small bathroom. We learned just to leave the bathroom door open. We had excellent service in our room.We felt safe there.

They over charged my account six extra nights and no manager was available to discuss this with because it was a weekend and was not fixed until I got home. I had to go downstairs four times because the key card would not work.

I just had to sit down and write a review about the outstanding service of the staff at this motel. Tiffany was amazing and was so helpful on a personal issue. The kindness and helpfulness of this staff makes this an oasis. Besides that the rooms are very clean and well kept. That's an extremely important feature for us.

Very nice lobby with a prehistoric theme which was present all through the hotel with information on most displays and QR codes for additional info. The Front desk staff was extremely friendly and one of them went out of their way to find my BW Rewards account.The daily breakfast was good and had options for all types of guests. The pool/Jacuzzi were way beyond my expectations. One of the only complaints is the lack of an elevator for older guests this is a bit of a downside and would need to specify a first floor room, if not already mentioned on the website it should be in my opinion. I traveled with a family member who has COPD so this would have been good to be aware of. The hotel has just about everything you would need within a few mile radius including some popular attractions within a 20 minute drive. All in all a very nice experience at this location.

This is straight up the best/coolest Best Western I've stayed in. Zach checked us in on our first night, and again when we ended up getting stuck in Denver because of the weather. He was super helpful. The place is clean, the dinosaurs are absolutely fantastic. It's the best non-Disney hotel I've ever stayed in. Great job.

We checked in late after we moved our daughter to her new apartment. The staff was very friendly and we appreciate them making us feel comfortable. It was a "changing of the guards" time when we arrived and both male and female employees were very nice.

No working internet and staff isn't friendly. Hotel is very clean though. The heated pool is nice if it's not freezing outside. The parking lot is lit with plenty of parking. Having no internet on a business trip was rough. To ask the front desk about the internet and have them say that maintenance will fix the internet was ALARMING. Five day stay and "maintenance" never fixed the internet. If you need to work and need internet DO NOT STAY HERE!

Our room was very clean and beds/pillows were comfortable. The decor of the lobby is nice with a dinosaur discovery theme. Some bathroom items were not in good working order and need replacing (toilet paper holder loose and coming apart, and sink drain catcher was in two parts) The bath rug had a torn edge. Towels were clean but rough. Instead of a tub/shower unit there was toilet and shower stall with glass doors in a very small closet-like room. The sink was located in the entry way of guest room, across from the "toilet closet". Breakfast area is very dark and located in the hotel bar area. Continental breakfast items offered. Food temperature of some items needed to be hotter. Front desk clerks were friendly. Difficulty in receiving an email receipt due to internet problems, and was not able to receive a paper printed receipt at check out due to computer problems as well. The price we paid was fair and we had a good night's sleep.

Very quiet even on a Saturday night. Breakfast was decent, a little off the interstate but not too far, staff was friendly room was clean, the pool hours are only 10 am to 10 pm so wasn't able to swim

The Lakewood Best Western is a great place to stay!! They worked with us on a group reservation for a block of rooms in the same area of hotel and group price for rooms! The staff there are very nice and helpful! The location of this Best Western is very convenient to restaurants and stores. And just off of one of the main streets of Lakewood and HWY 285. The Hotel is very clean and well run. The dinosaur theme is GREAT!! Very interesting for all ages!! Thank You! We will be back!

This hotel is a bit older but well maintained. The property is very clean and the staff is friendly. The two best things about the property is they have a restaurant on site for weary travelers too tired to go back out and they have a fabulous swimming pool and hot tub in an interior courtyard. The only downside I saw was no elevator. I researched that aspect ahead of time so knew to request a ground floor room.

Clean, well taken care of facility. Staff are pleasant. Lounge/restaurant serves good food. Free breakfast is good. Well situated in city. Easy to get to hotel and to other places from hotel. Easy check in and out.

This hotel puts the Best in Best Western. I first stayed there a couple of years ago, and loved it. The prehistoric theme is very cool, but my #1 favorite thing is the pool & hot tub in the open courtyard in the middle of the complex. It's also close to a major highway and is very easy to get to and from. I find myself in Denver at every year or two, and this hotel is my preferred location.

We were upgraded to a suite (greatly appreciated!) so this review is slightly colored by that. The living room was really big and the AC worked great. The bedroom was just big enough for the bed and the AC didn't work well, but after settling in, we didn't want to move. Keeping the doors from the bathroom (remarkably cool without AC) and living room open, we slept well. The bathroom was huge with tons of counter space. Everything was clean and the bed was firm and comfortable. The area where breakfast was served was too small for all the guests who were there. The food was ok, and the usual selection. Check in and out were swift and easy.

Beds were comfy and room was clean. In a good location and also good breakfast. Staff was great and the bonus is that we were able to bring our Pitbull! Only complaint is the bathroom was really small but all in all it was a nice stay. Plan on staying here again next time we are in the area.

We arrived without a reservation and the front desk clerk, Christine, was so welcoming and helpful. The room was spacious and immaculate but the A/C was not on. We set it and went to dinner. When we got back it was still warm and Christine brought us a fan right away. We appreciate her fast response. Breakfast was typical stuff but fine. Would definitely stay here again

This is a great hotel with a wonderful bar area and dinosaur decor! The bar food was great and the whole hotel was very modern and easy to navigate. Loved our gigantic room and did not use the pool but the pool area was beautiful!

Shaped in horseshoe fashion, it boasts a nice pool in the courtyard. As others have noted, the rooms are quite efficient and nice. It did not seem dated, but yes, the actual toilet area is quite small and the lighting is dull. I think this place is great as maybe a layover stop either to or from the mountains. Rooms have the usual amenities and noise is really at a minimum since this located near, but not next to the highway. Breakfast was nicely arranged and choices were okay on the day that I stayed.

The reception lady was friendly (I think her name is Tiffany) and explained everything in detail. I am happy with the check in process. The hotel is dated alrhough everything was working. At that price level, I would prefer a more contemporary hotel. The rooms have plenty drawer space. There is a fridge, microwave anf iron+ironing board. The bathroom is very small and the sink is outside of the bathroom. I asked for a room at the back and it was quiet provided you close the windows properly. However the air conditioning was very noisy. We had to shut it off during the night as it goes on and off continously. The breakfast was ok with all basic varieties of food. We stayed for 2 mights but after the first night, they did not replenish the in room coffe, nor did they wash the used cups. Otherwise I would havegive them another star.

I stayed here before and took the opportunity to stay here again upon my return to Denver. I was not disappointed. The room was nice, clean and well equipped. Staff was very kind and their breakfast had some nice hot choices. Also, staff worked hard to refill everything as quickly as possible. Definitely my preferred choice in the Denver area.

We liked the hotel. Good location, clean and lovely pool. Would definately stay again. The only thing that lets the hotel down is breakfast. You have to get there early to get fruit and yoghurt...hotel needs to order more stock!!!

Hotel was fine, but need help with breakfast. ran out of yogurt and bananas early. Sausage was not good, coffee too strong, orange juice tasted like apple juice was added to it or it was just old. Other than that, our stay was good, nice pool, great location close to all we wanted, rooms clean, Matt, Tiffany and staff was great!

We were trying to stay out of Denver so picked this location, price looked reasonable especially for the good reviews I read. We were very pleased with our entire stay. Room was clean, bed was comfortable, two important things! Staff was super friendly. We have never stayed at a best western before and must say this one was very nice. Not fancy but who needs that when you are out seeing all the beautiful sites!

Great pool/ great breakfast/great location A nice and clean pool with a hot tub were very enjoyable to finish our day. The breakfast had lots of varieties to choose. The location was accessible from the highways and close to the mountains (west). A gas station and a grocery store in walking distance!

To begin, there is no elevator!! I had an 85-year old with me, with trouble walking and getting up/down stairs and all the fromt desk said was, ‘well, we can help you with your bags.' Then we had 4 people in our group and we asked for a roll-away bed. We were advised that was not allowed, so I ended up sleeping on the floor, on towels since there weren't any extra sheets/blankets. The refrigerator was not on at all and the air stopped working in the middle of the night. All this for $150 a night?!?!? Ridiculous! We will NOT be back and will certainly spread the word to NOT stay here!!

We stayed at this BW for three nights at the first of August. This place is AMAZING!! With the dinosaur talks and exhibits, the breakfasts, and the awesome pool! The staff was so friendly and helpful. We will probably make this a regular stop when visiting the grand babies!!! Thanks for a wonderful time!!

We stayed at the BW in the extreme heat wave, in July, and when we arrived at the motel and entered our room the temp in the room was 80 degrees. With one call to the front desk the staff went into "fix it mode". That weekend was full of racing, baseball games around the Lakewood, Denver area, but with all they had to contend with at the front desk they took care of us and got us to another room that was very cool...temp wise. Every staff member we dealt with was friendly and helpful. Great staff!!

Great location close to everything mall, highway, resturant, gas station, parks, golf course, mountains, love love they have a hot tub, swimming pool, loaded bar, they offer breakfast in morning also you can purchase lunch and dinner at the hotel delicious food

We stay here every time we go to Denver. The hotel is clean, in a nice/ safe area, and breakfast is way more then the regular free breakfast. Highly recommend. The safe here is always very friendly...

One room in our party had no working air conditioning and the hotel had no one to fix it. 3 days - hottest of the year in Denver. No offer of a different room. Unbelievable!! Young couple with a one year old baby.

We stayed here for the final night of our 3 week road trip to Yellowstone and the Black Hills. The accommodation was good though the breakfast room was incredibly busy. A final dinosaur-fest! The staff kindly let us return at lunchtime to get changed for our return flight home. Thank you!

We stayed with our two young boys (6 and 3). The hotel itself was great, very clean and welcoming, all staff (and guests) we interacted with were very friendly. We had the king suite, which was large, clean and comfortable. The pool is definitely a plus, especially for young kids. Breakfast was good, and they had a guy giving a talk about dinosaurs in the lobby when we were there, which the kids absolutely loved. We ate at the restaurant for dinner, which was okay, nothing spectacular but convenient...and they had a bar! The hotel itself is convenient to the interstate, but sort of in an odd area, not too much stuff around it but seemed perfectly safe.

This is a nice hotel for the money. Good value- nice pool and hot tub, good Continental breakfast, & friendly staff. Rooms could use a facelift but the lobby/ restaurant and pool are in great shape. Max “the fossil guy” was a highlight for our boys- as he gave an in depth talk about dinosaurs and their bones, teeth, & claws. No frills but Fun stay with kids.

Fossils everywhere--haha, felt right at home. Friendly staff, easy highway access, clean and comfortable room. No issues with either the TV nor the wifi. Room has a coffee maker, but the coffee served at breakfast was very good. Breakfast was good, too. Hotel grounds are well-kept and inviting, with plenty of shady spots for sitting. Nice pool, too! Overall, another on-point Best Western experience.

Not recommended to stay here on a holiday weekend, like Memorial Day and other major holidays. Denver hotel prices can be expensive. I understand the hotel property is an older property, but some are designed to handle a full house. Not this one. When I walked down the hallway, I could hear noise and all the other pattrons clearly in each room. Hear all those conservations the loudest ever, even if they quiet. The walls did actually talk. When I got into the hotel room, the TV was poorly installed on the wall. This is with all the TVs in each room. Guess what happened? I could hear the TV very loud in the next room. You could tell which TV Program and TV Station they were watching next door. I did not get any sleep and checked out early in the morning. Also, when I talked with the front desk staff, there was nothing they could do. They could not move me into another room in a different part of the hotel because they were sold out. Check out was all way too slow and the hotel might have been understaffed. I will never stay at the this Best Western ever again. If you must stay here or do decide so, best thing to do is stay on a weekday, not weekends.

We had a great stay at this hotel for our family/extended family vacation. It was perfect for the dinosaur fan(s) in our group complete with authentic fossils in the decor, fossils to dig up in the sand box and paleontologists to consult with in the lobby. Very family friendly, with a nice wading area in the heated pool before you get to the shallow end. Big hot and cold breakfast with lots of choices to please every appetite. We also toured Dinosaur Ridge and our lodging perfectly meshed in with that. Wonderful place to stay whether or not you're into dinosaurs.

This Best Western is tucked away but not hard to find. Minimal signage, but interesting fossil theme. Front desk staff is friendly and helpful (shout out to Zach who has great taste in music) and lounge is cozy and has good food. Rooms are comfortable, but beds have 4 throw-sized pillows instead of full size, which was a little strange. All in all, great stay!

This is a hidden gem. I was put in charge of making accommodations for help with a drive /move to Mesa Az with a friend. She has a cat and finding a hotel that would take a cat is not all that easy. ( don't assume it's a given!) With the website of Pet Friendly.com, at least you can get a list but you must call each one. En route from Lincoln, NE to Denver, we sadly found ourselves trapped in traffic due to a bad semi accident on I-76 that didn't have a good ending for one of the drivers. I called the hotel to state our issue and confirm a very late arrival. I asked if possible to secure a room close to parking as a cat has a few more things to bring in!! They helped us with rerouting from I-76 (once we got out) and the room was 1st floor/ 2 rooms away from walking in. THIS was just the start of their wonderful hospitality. They gave us options close by for a quick and good meal, to sit outside and enjoy the Rockies. The design theme of the hotel is dinosaur based and its artifacts placed throughout the hotel are worth your time to stop and read. Weekdays, there is a young man who displays artifacts in the lobby and is quite knowledgeable about these creatures. I liked the small bar area and the breakfast offered is fine, but don't see this as a negative..I'm not always a breakfast person. If you're tired of interstate 25 and want a very nice place to stop, choose BW Den SW. Then, stay on 285 South and get a beautiful ride through the southern part of Colorado Rockies. Thank you Front Desk for the suggestion. It was a relaxing drive for our next stopover..Santa Fe!

Great experience. Friendly staff, awesome dinosaur theme that our children LOVED, heated pool/ hot tub were fantastic after long day of driving, and the hotel is located right by a variety of good restaurants and a Walgreens.

Very nice property that is well maintained. I would not hesitate to stay here again in the future. The room was nice and everything worked. Bathrooms were clean and well maintained during out stay. Plenty of parking - well lit at night and no safety issues.

Clean Rooms and Comfy Beds! Location is okay. I would like to recommend the hotel to get new towels....the ones now were so thin and scratchy. They actually roughed up your skin as you dry off. I understand that super soft nice towels are too much for a Best Western but they could be better! They also need more plug ins for chargers for phones, iPads, etc. Not a lot of outlets nor is there usb plug ins on the night stands. Overall, it is a nice hotel. Kids liked dinosaur theme.

Room was good and quiet and the bed was comfortable and the breakfast was above the norm. Green sausage chili a bonus for the eggs. That's my checklist for rooms. The dinosaur theme would be fun for kids. It's also across the street from Masterpiece Cakeshop. Nice place to get a treat.

Everything about this hotel was pleasant. The warm greeting when we checked in, the good hot coffee even in the afternoon, the well maintained pool, the hot shower, the expansive breakfast, the dinosaur decor and morning dinosaur specialist all combined to make our one night stay just delightful. Best Westerns can be so hit or miss, and this one was a home run. I just don't think you can go wrong staying here. I would stay here again in a heartbeat if we come back to Lakewood.

We needed a suite for us and our daughter who was joining us from Las Vegas. She was trapped by a snowstorm/rockslide, and the front desk was very accommodating as to keys, housekeeping, etc. I had a surgery appt at Swedish and DH needed an accessible room. All of our needs were met including the weird hours all of us kept. The breakfast was excellent; sausages, scrambled eggs, waffles, as well as the cold stuff - cereal, yogurt, and fruit. The property was off the beaten track and very quiet; yet quick access to everything via Hwy 285 was convenient. Loved the entire theme of dinosaurs and artifacts!

This hotel far exceeded my expectations. Staff was great, hotel was super clean and recently renovated, pool and hot tub were great, breakfast was good. Our A/C wasn't working properly and they had a new unit installed within an hour (and set up a convenient time with us to come do it so they did not disturb us). Ashley at the front desk is wonderful. My only complaint, and this is very minor, is the pool towels are crazy small. Great hotel!

I booked this hotel because it had high reviews but I was quickly disappointed. The room wasn't properly cleaned when I checked in- the trash wasn't even emptied! The front desk however took care of this issue quickly and switched me to a different room. Overall, this property is well maintained but it is still old. The mattress was extremely uncomfortable.

the best western was conveniently located to Denver and the room was very spacious. excellent variety of breakfast items. coffee always available. fitness room always open. staff always ready to answer questions and help with advise.

Great service from staff. Rooms outdated, strange smells and “thin” walls, can hear everything from the other rooms and hallway. Weird layout on breakfast area, doesn't appear clean. Food selection is good.

The rooms were always clean and made up when we got back from our day trips. The breakfast was big and very good. But the thing I was most impressed with was the outdoor pool and hot tub. I thought since it was outdoor it would be closed because it was very cold and there was snow on the ground. I was very wrong. The pool was actually very heated and you could easily swim in it and not be cold. The hot tub was very relaxing and also was very warm even though it was very cold outside. That was very impressive to our whole family.

This is not my first time at this BW. I chose to return again and again because of the staff. They are courteous and hospitable. They are helpful and accommodating. The atmosphere is clean, well maintained and comfortable.

Denver Southwest provides everything this traveler requires: clean, modern, friendly, and pets welcome. I stay here regularly, because I can, and I have plenty of options nearby. The dinosaur exhibit is a nice extra, and there's a large dog walk area.

This was a great place to stay, very nice great staff. Hot tub was on the warm side over all enjoyed the stay. Enjoyed the lounge the food was great. No real problems, some noise on the outside cars spinning out in the parking lot.

My husband and I travel extensively and always, ALWAYS stay at this Best Western when we are in the Denver area. Great location... Great breakfast selections.... clean and comfy rooms! But best of all a heated outdoor pool and hot tub that are open all year long! There is nothing like snow falling and being in a steamy hot tub! The staff at this location truly makes you feel like family.... honest and genuinely caring about even the smallest needs.

I wouldn't have complained about the horrible pillows or internet not working on the side of the building where my room was located, but I was shocked when I asked for an hour extension on checking out. I was told if I was an hour late I would be charged 50% of the daily total. I was especially surprised because I sat in the lobby until 1:30 am to finish a project because I needed the internet. I even had to sit on the floor near an outlet for awhile. Still, I was very pleasant. I stay in hotels at least 60 nights a year and I have NEVER been told I would be charged for asking for an hour extension. I rarely stay in Best Western's, but I will avoid them after this experience.

I love this Hotel. The breakfast is real.....fresh eggs, not liquid or powdered. You can watch them being cooked. This Best Western beats the rest when it comes to Breakfast. I love the restaurant/lounge staff, Johanna and Paul are the fabulous. Matt at the front desk is the best. The rooms are fabulously clean, even the Pet Friendly rooms.

Pros: staff was professional and attentive. The rooms and property were clean. Breakfast was good. Beds were comfortable. The cons: My room was on the pool side. Lots of noise coming from guests in the pool area. The walls to the rooms are thin and you can hear a normal conversation (or in my case a baby cry)from other rooms. The doors to the rooms slam shut making a loud bang every time the doors close. My stay would have been more enjoyable if it weren't for some of the other guests being overly loud and just plain disrespectful.

The rooms are large and clean. The bar food service is great for meeting and having a drink. Standard breakfast fare was also good. The place is very clean overall and the folks we encountered were all very nice.

We recommend you take the time to stay at this exceptionally different BW! Besides the sweet staff, you will find this to be sn awesome property! Great decor, featuring Dino dig recreations, artifacts & info I never thought I ‘d be interested in! Delightfully decorated, in a museum like manner, very informative for All ages! We definitely recommend you try it out, especially if you want the super experience like we had! Wish my kids weren't all grown up, this would be an experience they wouldn't forget! We will be back in the fall ! BTW the beds were super comfortable!

Upon arrival, I entered a warm, “homey” lobby and was welcomed by a very nice staff. My room was nicely decorated and looked/felt extremely clean - it was easy to tell that cleanliness was one of this location's top priorities. I spent four nights at this location and was able to relax, as the room felt right at home. The location of the hotel is located in a smaller, less busy area of town, so it can be easily missed when not looking for it. All in all, though, my stay was outstanding and I would recommend!

I loved having all the dinosaur theme. The murals on the building were great. The bones are awesome! The breakfast was great. I like having different options each day I stay! Breakfast burrito and biscuits and gravy are amazing!!

I've always felt welcome at a Best Western. Food is good, staff is friendly! The breakfast that Best Western has to offer never disappoints. There are tons of options from hot breakfast foods like eggs and coffee to cereal and yogurt!

Really enjoyed my stay at this property! The bed was extremely comfy and the staff was very attentive. The breakfast didn't offer a lot of variety, but it was very good! The eggs are real! Not every place can say that! The price was very reasonable considering the location. The dinosaur decor is certainly unique! It actually is very cool! I enjoyed looking at the fossils and murals. This is a very solid motel choice. I highly recommend it!

This hotel has alit of character with a dinosaur theme throughout. We enjoyed the hot tub and heated pool each night as well as a very good hot breakfast each morning and a bar with dinner options at night. It has a modest exercise room as well. This is a pet friendly hotel. The rooms were clean though the bathroom was a bit cramped. We enjoyed the stay.

Excellent hotel for the price!! We will stay here again! Awesome breakfast - eggs, sausage, biscuits and gravy, hash browns, waffles, pastries, cereal, fruit, bagels, yogurt and more!! Comfortable, clean and quiet room, with great service! They even have a restaurant that's open for dinner if you don't want to go out. It was snowing when we were there, so we were thankful for that!

Spent three nights here while our home was being remodeled. An older property, but has been nicely remodeled and has a unique dinosaur motif (convenient to Dinosaur Ridge, Morrison). We were struck by the consistent courtesy and helpfulness of the entire hotel staff. Owner must have done a great job of training. Has a bar and basic restaurant, hot tub, and is pet friendly. Clean and comfortable (OK, bathrooms are very small), and served our needs very well at an affordable price. Highly recommend.

I arrived late in the evening. Needed something to eat and drink. Both provided by the in house bar and restaurant by friendly servers. Room was clean and fresh. The real dinosaur bones and fossils in the lobby was very interesting. Front desk was not maned when I arrived but after calling out the individual arrived a few minutes later..

As usual our room was clean and well maintained. The breakfast was far and above what one normally finds in this price range. The location was well suited for our purpose in visiting. I really can't think of a thing to complain about!

This hotel has everything you need from a hot breakfast to a heated pool & hot tub. Every employee was kind and the managers are very nice. The internet is fast and there is a great business center and work out room too. Great dinosaur decor.

After a long weekend of skiing we drove into Denver for our last night to save some money. That was an excellent choice as we got a great price and the hotel was very nice. Beds were comfortable. Bath is split with the sink being in the main room. Breakfast had a nice selection. The only negative during our stay is that the hot tub was broken, but I know that was just bad timing for us.

Only 15 minutes from downtown with easy access to highway. Very clean and friendly staff! If you are into dinosaurs, the lobby is a must see! Breakfast was unbelievable... usually you get microwaved eggs... not here! Actual hot and flavorful selections!

We stayed in a king-room. It was large, which was nice for our six night stay. The bed was comfortable and there were a lot of pillows to choose from. The sink was separate from the toilet / shower. The toilet / shower room was a bit small. There is an outdoor pool and hot tub which we did not use. It was just a bit too chilly during our stay. There is a nice 24-hour fitness room, but it is left unlocked so you need to get someone from the front desk to open it up for you. There were a lot of options at breakfast. Some mornings there were biscuits and gravy, and other mornings there was pork chili verde with tortillas. There were always scrambled eggs, sausage, waffles, yogurt, oatmeal (not instant), cold cereal, etc. There was a breakfast room attendant to keep an eye on things. The hotel staff was very nice. I needed some glue and was able to borrow some from the maintenance staff. Nice quiet location a block off the main street.

Our daughter lives close to here, this was our third stay and we continue to be happy with staff and facility. The complementary breakfast is outstanding, be sure to leave a tip in the jar, they do a wonderful job. The quality of the oranges and bananas was outstanding. There is a wide variety of items, always love the green chili! The area is quiet, no street noise, off the beaten track so to speak but close to restaurants and shopping. Room comfortable, clean and in good repair. Welcoming lobby, coffee and tea available most of day. Bar open at night with a food option for purchase.

The motel is very convenient to highway with great parking. Personnel are friendly and helpful. Rooms are OK, clean. Beds are variable depending on the room you get. Relatively quiet and nice lobby. Breakfast is a highlight--a big selection with great waffles and many selections for children. Very family friendly..

Besides the courteous staff and very clean, the Motel had a unique display of various Dinosaur skulls and legs. Definitely great for a Photo op. The breakfast had a wide selection of nutritious items and no so nutritious items. My room was very quiet and the bed was very comfortable.

Always better rates for much nicer everything. The free breakfast is AMAZING! Friendly staff. Very clean. Huge rooms. Quite. Ashley at BW in Centennial, CO was very good to us because we stayed so long she kept our low rate the same. We stayed longer because of her and her kindness .

Dirty sheets and blankets, broken cupboard door was fixed with packaging tape, mineral buildup on shower head, ripped shower curtain, dog area full of thorny plants. We only just slept in the room, as we were only in Denver form 7pm-11am for a concert, so I didn't ask to switch rooms because we didn't see these problems until we got back after the show at 1am.

Very homey nice and clean. We enjoy staying here when in Denver area. Love the fossils and the lobby area. We always get a nice room in a good location. POol is nice too, but only for the summer as it is outdoors.

We couldn't have been more pleased with everything at this hidden gem. The outdoor pool is heated but warm enough for swimming even on Thanksgiving. The outdoor hot tub is also quite wonderful - it affords a view of the stars. I never took so many photos of a hotel lobby before. my cousin and niece are both geologists. They couldn't believe the quality of the fossils - even the marble front desk is full of fossils. i felt like a kid a gain, filled with wonder!The quality of the service is stellar. It is located in a safe and very convenient location that is close to everything. They aim to please/

This hotel is AWESOME! The rooms are SUPER CLEAN, the staff is VERY NICE, the breakfast is VERY GOOD, and the Dinosaur themes and fossils are COOL!! Also, it is very QUIET so you can sleep good at night, and the location is JUST RIGHT. We will stay here again next year!

We needed a place to overnight near a Special Olympics venue. This facility is clean and attractive and a very good value. Arriving late-evening, we were pleased with a nice selection of menu items in the bar, so we didn't have to waste time venturing out. In the morning, the staff happily accomodated our need to return later (having checked out) to change clothes for the day's later plans. We noted other Special Olympics families having chosen this location as repeat visitors for the yearly competition event nearby.

I've stayed here for maybe 50 nights the past year. The staff is great. There are many restaurants, a grocery store, and a liquor store within walking distance. The breakfast is better than other hotels of similar prices.

Love that this place is so close to the airport but never hear a plane. When I have business in Denver and I have to stay over night I always book here. The staff is always great and love the decor of the hotel. I don't leave much especially when it's cold so they always have great recommendations for delivery

Nothing special here but good value for the price. The free breakfast was good and the service from the employee was better than most. Otherwise the hotel was listed as newly remodeled but was hard to see where.

Average Best Western. Clean, friendly employees. Pretty good breakfast bar, waffles, biscuits and gravy, sausage (no bacon), scrambled eggs, etc. Conveniently located near freeway system, but set back in a residential area. Two stories, but NO ELEVATOR. Inconvenient for me, as I have bad back problems. Overall, a pleasant stay.

My wife and I spent almost a week here to visit our two daughters that live in the area, and to celebrate our 46th wedding anniversary on August 25, 2018. The room was ok, BUT!!, my Ford F-350, 4 door work truck was stolen from the parking lot, right outside in front of the back entrance door, on the night of August 24, 2018. When I took my dog out at 8:00 am on August 25, 2018, I found that my truck was stolen from where I had parked it. I called 911 to report it stolen. I then went to the front desk and told them that my truck was stolen and asked to see their security tapes. I was informed that the motel has absolutely NO SECURITY CAMERAS ANYWHERE ON THE OUTSIDE OF THE BUILDING!!!!! Nor do they have any security personnel on site at all!!! There are NO SIGNS whatsoever warning that YOU PARK HERE AT YOUR OWN RISK!!! I was informed very matter of factly that they are not required to have any security of any kind if they so choose. They said they were sorry that my truck was stolen, but that is was my problem, and my problem only, and they could not be held responsible in any way. To top things off, I waited 2 HOURS for the Lakewood City Police to send an officer over to take the stolen vehicle report. I finally googled the police departments address and got a ride to that location. I forced them to take my report by standing in front of the desk face to face. UNBELIEVABLE!!! I was lucky and got my truck back 3 days after it was stolen. We were forced to stay at the same motel at $145.00 per night during this whole ordeal. After I had repairs done to the truck so I could drive it, I went to the desk desk to check out and insisted on talking directly to the manager. After about 1/2 hour, she finally came out to talk to me, because I was not leaving until I talked to her. I asked her what she could do for me for the 4 extra days I had to stay there because of the theft. She said she would do nothing at all on the cost up to that day, but that if I wanted to stay a few more days, she would drop the price to $55.00 per night, but would not make it retroactive on our bill. I had to pay the FULL amount. THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO CHANCE OF US EVER STAYING AT THIS MOTEL AGAIN!!!

Best Western Denver Southwest is a really nice hotel!We've spent a bunch of nights in hotels lately and have been in some pretty scary places. It is sometimes hard to know what quality you'll get when you look for an inexpensive hotel. We booked a last minute trip through Priceline, and I was slightly concerned about the hotel. However this hotel is really nice. The staff is friendly. The breakfast was awesome - a full breakfast with most anything you'd expect. Overall a really nice hotel.

When my previous lodging arrangements fell through, I went to this hotel as it was near family. Being that it was a Friday morning and the end of a convention in Denver, I knew my chances of getting a room were slim. As it turns out they did have a room for me. My expectations weren't high as I had stayed there a few years back & was not overly impressed. This time I was pleasantly surprised. The manager at the front desk, Sarah was extremely kind and she was very attentive to everyone. I noticed this every time I went downstairs and saw her interact with guests. She seemed to take an actual interest in any situation and resolved a couple of issues with grace. My room was VERY clean, comfortable and it had a little refrigerator! That's a big deal to those of us who have medications that need to be kept cold. I am very happy with my stay and would recommend this property. I will stay here whenever my travels take me to the Denver area. Thank you!

The hotel has been recently renovated and I love the dinosaur decor. The breakfast was yummy, always plenty of hot food and clean tables. The staff was great and met all our needs. We needed some air freshener and also a corkscrew and they accommodated each request cheerfully. Check in and out was swift and courteous.

People at the desk were not friendly at all. Rooms are very small and very dark. Very few lights. Also no usb plugs. I would not stay here again. Also says it is 8 miles from Denver but not downtown. Not a very convient location

We recently stayed here on a getaway to Colorado. The rooms were nice and clean, the staff were friendly and the pool and hot tub were relaxing. Good location if you want to get away from metro traffic. Good breakfast with hot and cold items too. We would stay there again.

The hotel was clean, the outside, the inside, the lobby, and the room. The beds were very comfortible and the Breakfast was good too. We loved the dinasour themed part of the hotel. Thanks for such a great night.

This hotel is clean and comfortable. I felt safe here, would stay again. The hotel is close to everything in Lakewood and is off the main road so it is very quiet. King suite is great size and close to parking.

We stayed here the last week in August 2018.This was a theme oriented Best Western (Jurassic) with a fun shaped pool. This is a great pool for the kiddos. Staff was nice and the hotel was clean. Minor problems we had with the room were fixed immediately. When I booked the room, I knew we were going to have to be traveling a lot from Colorado Springs to Denver via I-25 and really miscalculated how far West we were from I-25. Monday morning, traffic was awful and it took us 45 minutes. So although this was a great hotel, we will probably stay at a Best Western closer to I-25 on our next trip.

Great hotel experience, the bar staff were extremely helpful. I wanted to find a local restaurant for breakfast, they got me in touch with an awesome local establishment. The staff at the front desk are very helpful also. All were very professional and helpful also.

Family stayed over the weekend...truck was stolen from parking lot overnight! Found out there are NO security cameras in parking lot OR security personnel. Front desk and corporate office treated it as "oh well, not our problem, too bad for you." The truck was locked and valuables had been removed; still got stolen. Area around hotel turned out to be sketchy at best, with riffraff loitering in the parking lot all day. Families: DON'T stay here, it is not safe! The hotel staff doesn't care about you or safety, they just want the rooms full and money coming in the door.

The management even had a dinosour "expert" available for questions and answers during breakfast. I don't recall seeing that option anywhere else. She was very professional and informed. Staff, excellent. And even though I could see Highway 225 from my room, It was quiet and I didn't get road noise, or hotel noise either for that matter. Very quiet and clean.

The title says it all!!!..... I have never had a bad stay and the staff are by far the best I have ever dealt with.... They ALWAYS go above and beyond to take care of you and make you feel welcome..... I feel like family every time I walk in the door..... The dinosaur theme was fun, and the hotel was well kept. The pool would be great for travelers with kids. Our room comfortable, but the bathroom was small. The breakfast was pretty good, but the breakfast staff made us feel comfortable. We had great interactions with the front desk staff as well. We would stay here again.

Kids loved the murals on the walls inside and out along with the replica bones. They also have a gated sand box out front for kids to dig for more dino bones. Very nice decor and lobby. Only neg was breakfast bar ran out of milk and syrup for waffles and gravy was runny.

Big bed very comfortable. Pool is large. Very nice place to stay. Bathroom too small but overall it was a nice place to stay. I highly recommend this hotel. Wish we could have stayed longer to try the restaurant. It is closed on Sundays??

Room was okay. Bed uncomfortable to sleep on. Water pressure in room was horrible. Customer Service was great. Wouldn't mind seeing a BW in Lakewood/Golden area. But over all the stay was good for using points.

This is one our family's favorite Best Westerns in the Denver Metro area. They've got an amazing outdoor heated pool and spa, fun little lounge and restaurant, and the lobby is full of massive dinosaur fossils and casts. Just be sure to ask front desk not to put you near dog rooms!

We had a wonderful stay and would highly recommend be and will stay again at be in future. Clean good decor friendly and helpful staff. Liked laundry facilities and pool area especially that they provided towels in pool area.

Our daughter went to NYLF Pathways and we choose this because of its location and we liked that it was a smaller hotel. The breakfast and pool area was amazing! I would definitely tell my friends and family to stay there!

We chose this Denver hotel specifically because of it's dinosaur theming. My 12-year-old daughter is an aspiring paleontologist, so we visit a LOT of paleontological exhibits as a family. With Dinosaur Ridge nearby and the Natural Science Museum not far away, this is a phenomenal addition to a trip that highlights a visit to those attractions. While it could have been cheesy, the casts and specimens in the lobby and breakfast room/lounge are spectacular! Walking into the lobby feels like walking into the library of a 1920's explorer with the knowledge of a modern day paleontologist. All four of us had a great time going around the exterior of the hotel to find the murals, and finding all four staircase murals. Our room was clean and comfy, the bartender was a delight, breakfast was satisfying, and the price was reasonable. Glad we made it here!

We stayed here three nights with a reservation. The price was competitive. Check-in was easy and the staff was friendly and helpful. Room was large and clean. The breakfast was complete with eggs and waffles. We would stay again.

Here for business. Stayed here to try to save the company a little money and that was a mistake. This place is a hot mess and you shouldn't trust them with your money or free time. Here's a summary of the highlights you have to look forward to: -I had made a reservation in advance online for the dates in July. I had an email confirmation with the correct dates. I looked up my reservation on the actual BW.com site and it showed me my reservation was in November (wtf). Nobody knows how this happened. I cancelled it because their website isn't capable of taking reservations. I then got an email with a completely different reservation number saying "get ready to check-in!" I didn't make the second reservation; the staff at this hotel did. They couldn't find my original one (maybe because they put it in November, instead of July) so they made a duplicate, put it under my name and credit card, and never informed me. I had to call and waste my time sorting out the BS. -After the issue with the reservation, i decided to just check-in without one.The room rate advertised on the website the day I checked in was $98 for a double queen for BW members. I actually check-in and they charge me $40 more than that a night. They are crooks. I could have gone to much nicer hotel for the price. I would suggest you make that decision. -The pool is extremely high traffic and poorly maintained. It is truly disgusting. - I did not recieve a folio for my stay. I was told it would be e-mailed (it never was). When I login to bw.com; it says "details not available for this stay." Again, this hotel takes your money but is barely functional, able to track reservations, and accurately charge you. Why did i stay here again? Why did i give them access to my personal information and credit card? - thin walls. look forward to hearing dogs barking and every word your neighbors say when you're in the room. -no elevator. the restaurant doesn't open until dinner and they have an extremely limited menu. Regrets. Never again. Learn from my mistakes.

We were very disappointed with our stay at this hotel. We checked in right at the check in time of 3:00 and they would not let us get to our room. They were very disorganized and said we could not get into our room because they were behind on their towels and we had to wait for them to be done before we could get in our room nearly an hour later. No apologies!!! We just sat in our very hot car on one of the hottest days they have had with our pets, the lobby had many people waiting to get into their rooms. We were an hour late to our function we came out for. The rooms were small and hotel not great for pets due to a very small amount of grass. Carpet could be washed many stains we have stayed in much cleaner pet friendly rooms. We spent over 200 dollars on our room way higher than it should have been on June 29th no discounts given for inconvenience. We did try and speak to management upon check in and no apologies.

We had a great two night stay for our Third Day concert at Red Rocks. Very nice room, super clean, great breakfast (with 2-3 workers keeping everything filled/cleaned) and a fun outdoor pool. We will definitely go back when we are in that area!

My husband and I stayed here for 6 nights in June while visiting our son and other family members. Nice clean rooms, great free breakfast with lots to choose from, nice size pool especially for young children, and friendly professional staff. Although my grand niece and nephew were not staying at the hotel we asked if they could come and play in the pool and they were totally fine with it. The hotel is dinosaur themed and it was really interesting looking at the fossils, pictures and murals. We will definitely stay here again on our next visit!!!

Stayed here as the perfect lodging for a Denver Dinosaur adventure. After a long drive in from Denver, (we got stuck in a little rush hour traffic after flying in that morning and spending the day at the Denver Museum of Nature and Science) my niece was a little grumpy. She perked right up when she saw the stegosaurus statue in the front and got more and more excited with every fossil and bone she saw. The restaurant was good and our waitress was wonderful. Breakfast was delicious. Room and pools were clean. All of the staff was very kind and regaled us with one dino fact or two. Doesn't have an elevator, but really wasn't an issue for us. The location is perfect to visit Morrison Natural History Museum, Dino Ridge and Triceratops Trail. We recommend eating at The Garlic Knot!

Although we were visiting Denver proper, we found the "high season" rates downtown were very high. Instead, we decided to drive a bit further and save a few bucks. That's how we found this pleasant Best Western. The paleo (dinosaur) theme was a plus for us, since that's a side interest. The decor and murals around the building were fun to see and pose by. The room we had on the second floor was quiet and comfortable. Roomy enough not to feel confining, if not luxurious. We had one issue with housekeeping not doing our room one day, but suspect that was just a fluke of their team coverage. The pool looked fine, although we didn't use it. The provided breakfast buffet was a bit heavy on the carbs, which is about par for the course. We would try to grab a rare piece of fruit, and then eat breakfast somewhere else. The staff was friendly and helpful when needed. Parking was convenient and available, even when the motel was busy. It was a reasonable price to pay for what we got, and I'd feel safe and satisfied if we were visiting in the future.

We were going to a concert at Red Rocks Amphitheater and chose this place based on the distance. We couldn't have been more pleased, going to and from the concert was a breeze and only took about 15 minutes each way. They serve an awesome breakfast every morning. The rooms are clean and very quiet. The bathroom is a little small and the sink is on the outside of the room but that's not a big deal. I was disappointed in the lack of an adequate amount of outlets in the room, as my husband and I had several electronics to plug in each night. There are several good restaurants in the area within walking distance. Overall we enjoyed our stay and would return again.

This hotel was a delight, I really loved staying here. I had a large room which was very clean and all the equipment workd just fine. The window could be opened to the full which I personally enjoyed a lot (not a fan of A/C). Staff was very nice and attentive. The breakfast buffet had some nice choices and was refilled very quickly. I would love to get back there.

If you have a dinosaur lover in your family (adult or child!) don't miss this hotel! My husband and I stayed three nights with our young sons who are dinosaur fanatics and we loved all the dinosaur items. The fossils were tasteful rather than tacky and the different vintage hall murals were fun for the kids to marvel at. Free breakfast was good, location felt safe and was easy to get to. The pool was awesome, clean and huge! I appreciated that there was a microwave and fridge in the room. Rooms were updated and clean. Only downsides were the rooms were on the small side (really only an issue because our two kids are active and it was hard to let them burn energy in the room!) and the windows opened fully which was a bit of a safety issue for small kids. The sandbox was a huge hit with the kids and we loved that it was all fenced in so we could relax while they played and dug for fossils.

We stayed here for one night on May 19th, 2018. The room was clean, quiet, and comfortable. We also had two queen beds, which was key as we had 4 people. They were not double beds like most reasonably-priced hotels. Finally, the breakfast exceeded expectations. There wasn't anything eye-popping. Just a very solid lower-priced hotel that delivered on all the basics. A rarity indeed.

We would stay here again. The pool area is nice. The hot tub has good, strong jets. The Pool water is nicely heated; not hot, just warm enough to enjoy. The breakfast area is the real plus at this Best Western. Great hot food selections, and the usual cereals, fruit, waffles, juices at most hotel breakfast bars. The staff keep the breakfast area clean and well-stocked. Stayed here four nights, and enjoyed the breakfast each morning.

We flew in on Thursday for a graduation and flew home on Saturday. During our stay, we were very pleased with everything about the hotel. The service was great, our room wonderful and the staff very helpful and friendly.

Great Best Western in Lakewood! Close to the mountains, dining, my best friend in Morrison and everything we enjoy in South West Denver! Awesome staff, great coffee and extremely clean!! They even welcome pets!

The staff is friendly and helpful, the rooms are clean, and the breakfast is as good as it gets. I would stay here again for sure. The pool and hot tube is heated and felt great after long days. Plenty of places to eat within walking distance. The wifi was always working, but sometimes lacked a bit of strength.

Nice hotel, beds can be a bit stiff. Other amenities are good. Serves hot breakfast. Almost everything that you can ask from a budget hotel, located close to multiple restaurants and other businesses.

Everything from the display cases of fossils and reptiles, to the front counter wall that is a replica fossil dig, shows that the owners care for their property and guests. Even the stair landing was treated with a mural. Nice stuff to look at is fun, but the rest of my stay was equally enjoyable. I had a drink and a sandwich in the bar, a good nights sleep, and a relaxing morning that included a drive to Red Rocks. The Lakewood Best Western is centrally located for enjoying the outdoors and getting into Denver or heading to the airport. I hope to return.

This was our first time staying here, and we would definitely come again. The hotel is clean and bright and modern. Rooms are of generous size and are well equipped. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel is nicely located near many restaurants and shops, and we found driving access to downtown Denver fairly easy from its location. It is not particularly close to public transportation, however, if one plans to get around using it. The best part, in our opinion, are the dinosaur fossils decorating theme throughout the hotel. It is very unique in our experience, and worth the visit. Would be a great hotel to stay in with children.

the room was nice,the front desk staff and manager was very helpful and friendly.Had the breakfast there it was nice hot and good. I needed a couple of extrs blankets and pillows the person who brought them was very kind.

The hotel was Regular. The place was clean. I do not like the sink outside the bathroom but some have it that way. The breakfast was good. The second day I had the boiled egg it was not good. I was traveling and had to stop several times. I wander how often they change out the boil eggs. Everything else was OK. I would recommend just be careful of the boiled eggs.

All was great! I was there visiting with a friend and the location is easy (right off 285) and near my favorite shopping places like Whole Foods and TJ Maxx. The lobby is really unique with dinosaur fossils and the murals are fun.

Checking in was very fast and informative. They gave us great tips on where to eat and stay. They gave us information on things to do in the area and into Denver. Always checking on us if we do so happen to pass by in the lobby. Place is really clean! I have no complaints. Only 15 minutes away from downtown Denver.

This is avery nice hotel, all remodeled, clean and has a very nice lobby with interesting fossils and such. There is a nice outdoor pool and it's very attractive from the outside, too. I enjoyed my stay there, the staff was nice.

I was looking for a decent hotel on the west side of Denver for a night. This hotel met my needs - clean, quiet, convenient to find. A plus was it was an even easier drive than I thought to get to I70 West. When I turned off the highway I had my doubts as there wasn't much around other than an urgent care/ER and a natural food store. However, the area was safe and just 5 min west was a shopping area that had everything I needed to stock up for a trip - Costco, Walmart, Whole Foods, etc. Plus basic restaurants and fast food. They serve breakfast but I did not partake. Young man at the front desk at checkin was very helpful.

I have stayed at this hotel when I am in Denver, CO, for about 5 years and it is always for about 6 or 8 nights. It is extremely clean. Staff is good, however, they should sometimes have more than one person on the desk. I always reserve the suite which has a living room and a separate bedroom. It is extremely comfortable, especially when you get guests. Plus, when you close the door between the living room and the bedroom, you hear nothing in bed. It's great. I think for the price, you cannot beat this place. I intend to continue using it for all my Denver trips.

I have been staying at this hotel for approximately 8 years, even through the remodel. The lobby is pretty and educational. The outdoor pool is fabulous and open year round. It is just off the beaten path and unless people know it is there you won't be bothered. A very private hotel.

The check-in procedure was fast and friendly. The room was clean and well-appointed. The wi-fi worked just fine. The bathroom was clean and stocked with plush towels. The bed was comfortable and I awoke with no back pain. Parking was steps from the door nearest our room. Our experience was good.

This property is near our daughter's home. We decided to stay here again as we were pleased the first time a few months ago. Best part is a wonderful breakfast with many options in a clean area. Things are kept clean, good coffee. Also a food option offered in the evening for a price. Room spacious, very clean. Sink outside bathroom, shower and toilet together in a tight space, but the shower is big. There is no tub, a plus in our opinion. Only ice machine on first floor, one drawback. I was not plkeased with check in. We did come in early, asked if we could get a room because we had many large things to take to our daughter. It was going to be easier if our things were out if the truck. She did have a room, which pleased us, but she was not friendly and I felt as if our request was a real pain for her. Outdoor pool only. Coffee available all day. Comfortable bed, 5 pillows on our king size bed was very nice. Room quiet, did not hear much noise even though hotel seemed quite full.

Location was nice. Room and amenities were clean. Slight issue with room keys not working on second night, but staff was able to fix immediately. Theming was fun and staff was interested in sharing fun facts about the decor.

We arrived in Lakewood at 6:30 am and was told we couldnt6check in the 10 am unless we wanted to pay for an extra day. So we waited3in our car until 10:30 and when we went in the new front desk attendant informed us we then had to wait til 3, it's just we have never been here and was here because my faather9just had brain surgery. Anyways we ended3up findin9a great place with pleasant people at the Quality Inn.

OMG is all i can say about this beautiful hotel. From start to finish my stay was wonderful. Front desk staff MATT was welcoming & so very helpful. Breakfast crew was there every morning with fresh hot food. Everything you can imagine was available to eat. There's a restaurant too but I didnt go there. This hotel was the cleanest I have EVER stayed in. The shower looked like noone had ever stepped in it. The toilet paper and guest towels were folded so cute too. There was not a speck of dirt or dust anywhere, the beds were clean, freshly made & so very comfie. Pillows were just the right amount off squishie. There was a fridge/microwave too. My room overlooked the pools and hot tubs. Hallways were clean and quiet. The computer room was great - open late at night. There's a 24 hour cold water/coffee stand up by the front desk The dinosaur decor in this hotel is amazing, and very educational. Dino displays replicas, real fossils, books for reading, etc. There's even a big play sandbox for the kiddos, out front; with a dinosaur. And the location could not have been better- right off HWY 285. This is my go to hotel from now on when traveling in the Denver area!

This hotel was a wonderful experience! Besides a great breakfast, beautiful pools, wonderful fitness room, and pleasant accomidations, it was like being in a dinosaur museum-a wonderful experience. We will be back!

Lakewood Best Western is a special surprise from the entrance with the Dinossur bones and statues you can marvel at you heart's content. There are also paintings of dinosaurs throughout the hotel and an outdoor mural that you can play cat and mouse with a T-Rex. The staff is so friendly and takes great care of your every need.

This was a lovely hotel located just off highway 285. All hotels should be this nice and affordable. The square secured (card key entry) premises houses a unique pool, with hot tub, in the center of the facility with plenty of seating and tables to enjoy the outside. An expanded breakfast is included and beats the average continental style usually found in affordable/budget hotels/motels. There are a lot of amenities (see website for all the details) and the room was fantastic. The location also provides nearby restaurants, shopping, transit, etc. A beautiful experience with a welcoming and friendly staff. They set the standard!

Very happy with our recent stay at this hotel. Room was very clean, warm, and bed was most comfortable. Breakfast was great with a wide variety of breakfast items to choose from. We had our dogs with us and got a room at the end of the hall which was convenient along with the little field close by to walk them. The paleontology theme with the artifacts in the lobby made the experience unique. Very interesting. Happy with the pricing also. Stayed two nites and want to stay again.

I enjoyed my time here. This is a very comfortable place for those traveling with a modest budget. This place had all I wanted and needed for my brief stay in the Denver area. The hotel was easily accessible I needed for my vacation needs.

The Hotel was overall a wonderful experience. Wish I could have spent more time and enjoyed the inviting heated pool! Breakfast was far better than my expectations, coming from a person who is pregnant and loves to eat, the variety and quality was awesome.

We were very comfortable during our hotel stay. Staff were helpful and friendly, they even offered assistance with our luggage as there was no elevator in this hotel. The internet can be spotty and that would be my only complaint. Overall great stay and would come back.

On our Christmas vacation, we met the first big storm of the season that closed Interstate 70. After waiting a number of hours in Idaho Springs. CO, we went back to Lakewood for the night. Very happy with the property, the lobby is unique and the rooms were great. Idaho Springs should not be missed, nor the property. The snow storm. Could easily be skipped. Great breakfast. Great hot tub outside under the Colorado stars. Clean rooms. Great staff. When outside, be mindful of your surroundings after dark, as in any large city. Really good breakfast. If your kids are into dinosaurs, this is a "must stay" hotel. They have dinosaur stuff all over the place. It is impressive!

2nd time we have stayed here in the past 3 months. Nice clean rooms with a helpful, friendly staff. Breakfast is much better that most with lots of hot choices. Ask for a room that doesn't face the pool/hot tub if you like retire early as it can be a bit noisy. We will likely stay there again when in the area.

We needed a night away from the kids and there are quite a few hotels to choose from always go with a Best Western. This one was exceptional From the customer service to the decor the breakfast the people !! Will stay here again

Friendly staff, clean rooms, a continental breakfast. It isn't a 5 star hotel by any means but it is clean and they have an edible breakfast in the morning. The staff is friendly and helpful, my room smelled fresh and clean. It isn't in a sketchy area. Traveling alone I felt safe coming and going late at night. I would stay there again.

Great Dinosaur theme, a nod to Morrison dinosaurs.Staff responsive and friendly. Non smoking hotel, however they don't enforce rules to those smoking near doors. Room AC units suck in the smoke...YUCK! TINY bathrooms, can't shut door without squeezing past toilet. No room to change.

The lady that was servicing the breakfast was fantastic. The dishes on the buffet were clan and orderly. A very nice touch were some plates she had prepared that showed good ideas on how to pair up items on the buffet for a great meal. All the food was great. The room, staff and everything about our stay was exemplary

This is a quiet clean establishment. It is close to the intersection of Hampton (285) and Wadsworth, but set back far enough to not have any road noise. There are plenty of eating establishments on Wadsworth near the hotel. We only dealt with the staff during check-in, and although we arrived prior to the posted check-in time they found a room for us.

I always coming here when on this side of town. They have a very unique hotel. Quite, comfortable, best employees. They have a dinosaur theme and displays that are so interesting. They even have a lady who has vast knowledge of these creatures. She is in the lobby in the morning with others fossils. Rooms are comfortable, good night sleep.

I have to say I've never been a hotel with a real life feel for dinosaurs, and my granddaughters love dinosaurs so this place made me think of them, and yes I had to take a lot of pictures to send to them. the room was nice and the fitness center had a weight machine a plus for me. this hotel was a nice surprise to me.

We left the time share Christie Lodge in Avon a night early to see sights near Denver and family. This hotel was MUCH more modern, cleaner, nicer staff, and more comfortable beds. Very polite & friendly staff.

John at check in was amazing!!! Victoria at check out was rude, disrespectful, snooty, etc... Horrible attitude!!!! Breakfast was amazing!!!! I would go back and stay again!!! Rooms were ok maybe a little bit clearer would of been better!!!

Friendly helpful staff. Exercise facility, guest laundry and breakfast all good. Good restaurant next door. Easy enough to find this location but be on your toes when you are driving in the area, there are some aggressive drivers out there especially around commute times.

Booked king size bed got a double bed. Bed was worn out. It took forever to get checked in . Must have been the clerks first day working. I explained i booked a king size bed but did not receive one. Stay somewhere else!

We picked this hotel due to it's proximity to the Rusty Bucket across the street. A friend was playing in the band that night and since we live in Westminster we figured we'd get an overnight room and walk back and forth. Cool dinosaur theme really made a lot of interesting conversations. We loved having the bar downstairs for prepartying. The beds were soft and fluffy, lots of pillows and it smelled clean. The toilet/shower area is super tiny, only complaint

A perfectly respecable Best Western with the added charm of cast dinosaur skeletons and and an in-house docent. The motel takes its theme from nearby fossil dinosauer footprints. Very conveniently loacted at Wadsworth and Hampden.

We've stayed here before and like the hotel and it's location. Room very comfortable and clean, noise level between rooms was neglible, breakfast is very satisfying. Only complaint is the small, extremely firm and uncomfortable pillows.

The rooms were very clean bathroom was a little to small but still nice clean plenty of towels and wash cloths which were nice especially the towels nice and thick, staff very,very nice! The breakfast was great , everything was kept fresh , the cook was wonderful he kept the fresh hot scrambled eggs coming and the saucesa was delicious and I thought Texans only knew how to make hot sauce Lol! I was fooled ! I just loved the dinosaur artifacts and murals on the outside building . The young lady knew her history on dinosaurs, all of the kitchen just great along with the wonderful hose keeepers , I would recommend y'all very nice!

I highly recommend this hotel. Service was great. We were relieved to find spaces for us to park our 1 ton pickup. Year round heated pool and hot tub. Excellent business center. Guest laundry. Breakfast was good.

The hotel staff are welcoming and knowledgable; however, the concentrated dinosaur decor through the hotel is a little overwhelming. If you are not distracted by the fossils, the hotel is nicely remodeled and has upgraded amenities such as internet and breakfast that are both above average. Be sure to ask the lady about the dinosaurs in the morning, she is wealth of information on the history of Colorado...great for tourists!

The hotel was clean and the theme was intriguing. However, the cleaning staff were noisy outside our room, which was right across the hall from the laundry facilities. They forgot to clean our room one day, and the breakfast meal, which good tasting was the same every day, and we were there for 7 days.

We were visiting friends in Littleton and this property was conveniently located. It is an older, low-rise property so it does not have an elevator to access the 2nd floor. This is an inconvenience for my wife who has a bad knee. I need to remember to request a ground floor room in the future.

Every thing was clean and orderly. The employees were very polite and friendly. The lobby was very inviting, wish I could have spent more time just looking at all the pictures. Rooms were very quiet and did not hear other guest as they left earlier. Plan on using your hotel in the future.

This was my first stay at the Denver Best Western. We were visiting my daughter who lives in Denver. The room was pet friendly and check in was a breeze. The room was extremely clean and comfortable. Checkout was done via express checkout and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Stayed her for a couple nights on a work trip before heading into the mountains to the west for a weekend. Positives: - Strong wi-fi signal (free internet) - Comfortable bed - Paper-channel guide (to avoid having to wait for the one on TV to scroll) - Free parking (super safe! I accidentally left my wallet on one of the front seats overnight, and when I went to the car in the morning it was there, car and wallet fully intact) - Close to the freeway, but not so close that you hear it Not-so-positives: - Definitely outdated, giving it the slightly unclean vibe - Bathrooms are SUPER small. Not to get graphic, but I couldn't sit on the toilet and close the door at the same time - Walls are VERY thin. I could hear my neighbor as well as all convos as they went down the hall and passed my room - No elevator that I saw and I was not directed to one at check-in, but my room was on the second floor so it wasn't a big deal to carry my luggage up.

the hotel is clean, the staff is nice. they allowed us to bring our service dog for no charge. free breakfast. nice pool and hot tub area. we accumulate best western points and occasionally they have double points which of course is even better.

This is a great hotel but in Denver the important thing is where your hotel is. The location is perfect if you are going into the mountains. It is near to Boulder, the foothills and Golden. If you are going to the other side of Denver it can be very difficult as traffic is heavy across town. Breakfast is great: good choice and high quality. The breakfast room doubles as a bar at night which is cheap and fairly nice. The rooms are of a good size and i found the hotel nice and quiet. In summary a great hotel. My only complaint would be one of the receptionists who finds it very difficult to smile or indeed say please. the one negative thing on an otherwise great place to stay.

We were attending my husband's 50th college reunion in Golden at Colorado School of Mines. The location was easy to get to from Golden. The room was very clean and roomy. The separation of the toilet and the sink made it easy for the two of us get ready. The bed was so comfortable that sleep came quickly and deeply. Thanks for being part of a great weekend.

GREAT location on the outskirts of Denver. My room and bed was super comfy and breakfast was great with an EXCELLENT selection of items! If you want awesome pizza, try Pizzeria Lui that's a sort driving distance. Some of the BEST Pizza I've ever had. Woodfired & delicious! Owner is super nice! I ate there 4 nights in a row, it was so good. Will stay here again and I recommend!

Excellent customer service and a veey neat place to stay! I really enjoyed the artifacts they had in the lobby. If anybody is a paleontologist they would love to visit this hotel. The pool seems really cool although too cold for me to enjoy. The breakfast bar was excellent. The rooms were quiet and very comfortable.

One of the most fun BW properties, the outdoor heated pool is amazing, especially for the kids. The lobby is stuffed with dinosaur fossils and casts of mostly locally found specimens. Nice little lounge and bar. Clean rooms, ample parking. Green Chile with breakfast is awesome, with the exception of it only being served some mornings. Great property, friendly staff.

Driving from Denver, in the dark, through industrial areas, past mile high stadium and sketchy Denver, I'm wondering what have I done? Wow. Dinosaur fossil decor, friendly knowledgeable staff, comfortable bed, wifi, breakfast, baseball in the lounge. Sigh. I'm a really happy camper. Really happy. Negatives? Good sized shower in a postage stamp sized bathroom. I can live with that. I would stay here again, happily.

We stay here when we are in Denver because the hotel is clean, friendly, and comfortable. It is a very kid and pet friendly hotel. The exercise room has a nice elliptical, bike and treadmill. My refrigerator worked! It kept my food cold and my freezer packs frozen. I like the breakfast because they have fruit, oatmeal, eggs and sausage, and waffles and pastries, and cereal, juice. Coffee!!! It was the local Paleontologist's Birthday. She was displaying dinosaur fossils. She is smart, sweet and friendly. My king size bed was very comfortable. The swimming pool and Hot tub which is outside, was busy last night with families enjoying the last days of summer. We enjoyed our stay and hope you do too.

Easy To find. Comfy. no Elevator. outside smell. quite area and friendly. Small Fitness room so if there is more than 3 people working out at the same time it can be claustrophobic. Breakfast had a great deal of choices that cater many type of individuals.

Stayed here with a friend to attend a concert at Red Rocks, we were 15 minutes away from venue plus we were close to many options for dining and shopping definitely will stop and stay here again! Thank you Best western.

This hotel was in a great location for what we needed. It is short drive to the light rail. The hotel was clean and had a great hot breakfast. I used the workout room each morning and it was clean and quite. The outdoor pool was great. The only complaint that I would have it that the smoking section is located by the pool. Unfortunately, there was a family sitting in the fenced in smoking area and not watching their young children who were playing in the pool. That of course was not the hotel's fault. But, if the smoking area wasn't close then maybe this wouldn't happen. Great stay. Will definitely stay there again the next time we head to Colorado.

We love this hotel. It is clean, breakfast is good, location is convenient, beds are comfortable and we can bring our dog. We like the dinosaur theme and the staff is knowledge about the dinosaurs. We stay here after Bronco Games.

Great hotel and staff. One street from the main road. However, It didn't feel like it. We loved it because it was close to everywhere we needed to go. You can walk across the street to several places to eat and drink . Love the Rusty bucket.

Excellent hotel. Hard to find from the Highway but worth the effort. The staff and the room were outstanding and the overall "Dinasoar" themed decor were a real treat.I will definitely stay again when in the area

This is by far one of my favorite hotels in the country! The value that you get for staying at this hotel is very nice! And it's in a great location, just minutes away from downtown Denver and also a short drive from the mountains. There's all sorts of shops and stores within in close range and eating options as well. The hotel itself has a very nice breakfast buffet with a decent amount of options. There's Waffles, Oatmeal ,There's a cook who makes very delicious scrambled eggs, there's also biscuits with sausage and gravy, sausage links, muffins, cereal, bagels, toast and more! The rooms are good sized with comfortable beds and nice showers. Good size tv in rooms also. The have a heated pool and hot tub outdoors. The hotel is dinasour themed and there is a guide outside the breakfast room that will talk to you about fossils. The hotel also has an adequate work out room and a office with 4 computers with a printer and fax machine if you need to get work done. And a conference room if you need a place to hold meetings. Oh and one last thing , they have a bar where you can get a drink! This hotel truly has everything and at a good rate! This is the only hotel I stay at every time I come out here! Even if it isn't the cheapest option!

This hotel was very clean, neat, and tidy. Everyone on the staff we met were friendly and helpful. The décor was so fun all the dinosaur pictures, stuff, and information so very interesting. The location was very easy to find and convenient to access the Denver area. We would definitely recommend this location to family and friends. We will certainly consider staying here again on our next trip to Denver.

Hotel is just outside Denver in Lakewood, close to Morrison. It's off the road behind a gas station, so its kind of hidden. Hidden little gem! The front staff was very nice and had us checked in fast and courteously. The hotel is clean inside and out. It has a small restaurant and bar and the pool is in the middle of the hotel, surrounded by the rooms. This is nice since the hotel is next to an apartment complex and this keeps it private. Plenty of restaurants and bars in local area and it is at the foot of the mountains, 15 minute drive to Morrison and Rockies. Our room was average size, not too big and not too small. It was clean and did not smell musty at all. The A/C worked fine but was just a little noisier than other rooms I've had. Beds and pillows were soft and comfy. Blankets and sheets were clean and soft as well. Bathroom was clean with plenty of towels and toiletries. Water pressure was good and shower nice and hot. In the morning, the breakfast was good. Plenty of hot and cold options. The hot food was fresh and refilled frequently. There was also many options for juices, coffees, and other drinks. All in all, a great little hotel that I would recommend to anyone looking to stay just outside of Denver.

We really enjoyed all the dinosaur themed lobby and restaurant especially the kids. The pool and hut tub were excellent and so was the food and service at the restaurant (although there was only one server but he was very efficient).

Check in was very smooth, staff were helpful despite us being late. Dinosaur theme was nice, not overdone, the lady on the desk was very knowledgeable. Room was clean enough and spacious. Was a slight smell of smoke, but it seems the hotel has only fairly recently gone non smoking, so understandable, takes a long time to shift that smell, barely noticed it after a short time. Slightly disappointed to find a mini fridge instead of the full size fridge in the pictures the hotel has posted. Aircon was very effective, but noisy. Breakfast was nice enough, good choice, being hyper critical, not a great deal of day to day variation in the menu, but for a free breakfast, who cares ? Wasn't expecting cordon bleu. Plenty parking, easy to get to all the major roads although maybe not handy for the airport if you don't have a car, around 45 minute drive could be an expensive taxi ride. Plenty shops and eateries in the neighbourhood, the hotel does have a restaurant onsite, but we didn't try it, it seems to sell mostly sandwiches and burgers.. Wi-fi seemed reliable. Ice machine and a laundry on site Will definitely stay again if in the area and would not have any hesitation to recommend. Very nice place at what was a very reasonable rate.

Pros: clean room, archeological bones on display in cool lobby. OK for overnight stop. Cons: had almost a smoking smell when you walked in but sheets & pillows didn't smell, tight room & bathroom, loud bathroom fan. Breakfast food quality was not great.

Staff was awesome, from maids to pool cleaners, everything was fine except the bed, seemed wore out and the pillows were bad, isnt this the most important part, sleeping? I stayed 5 days. I think everything was fine except the bed, not worth the money,

This hotel was such a happy surprise for us. We stayed here on our way through to Utah and our kids were thrilled by the dinosaur fossils everywhere, the zero entry fun shaped pool and the above average continental breakfast. Our room was right near the pool and our room was still quiet, the beds were superb and the whole hotel was one of the cleanest we have stayed in. Bravo, you will have our business every time we drive through Denver!

Unhappy when I arrived at this hotel. From the description I thought it was going to be at the base or within walking distance of a mountain to do the fossil walks, it was literally right next to the interstate in a crowded area.

great motel near Denver. (tho the sign is invisible from the North on Wadsworth). Staff always friendly, helpful. Great breakfast, which the cooks replenish to keep hot. Quiet neighborhood, but easy to get to major streets. the dinosaur motif is fun (the knowledgable person on hand is super)

We stayed in a suite which was perfect for our family. There was lots of room. The dinosaur theme is great for kids. After breakfast they even had a staff member on hand with dinosaurs explaining all the different dinosaur they had around the hotel. There are plenty of food options nearby. The very best thing about this hotel is the pool. It is a zero entry pool that is very large. It was great for young kids as well as adults. This is by far the finest Best Western I have ever visited.

Great location near 24 hour urgent care, restaurants, and shopping centers. Pool is perfect for young children with walk in and 2 ft area. Hotel was very clean and with breakfast included every morning, it's tough to beat. Definitely will stay again when in the area.

All the staff at the hotel were very courteous and friendly. The rooms were very clean and well presented. I thought it was nice to learn a little history about the decor in the hotel. My overall experience was great...no complaints!

When visiting our son for three nights in Lakewood Co just west of Denver, we wanted a hotel with a few criteria: Clean. Comfy bed. Free breakfast. Free parking! And don't break the bank. Well that ruled out most of the downtown Denver hotels, where parking in a garage has a daily charge, and only a few free breakfasts. Looking in Lakewood, we found a number of contenders, but $106 for Motel 6 only came with free coffee. And a nice but small pool. The other local hotels of the Hampton/La Quinta/Holiday/Marriott/Comfort variety were $150+ per night. Lovely hotels, but most of our time would be spent with our son--not in our room. Best Western to the rescue! With a great discount for the third night, we paid $125 per night. The hotel, recently renovated, is dinosaur themed for the enjoyment of kids of all ages. Bonus: a wonderful pool and legit whirlpool! And breakfast? The scrambled eggs are fresh cooked. One morning we had fresh biscuits and gravy on the side, another we had tortillas and green chiles. Yum! Enjoy the Dino-murals and fossils which adorn the public areas. And so convenient, right off of I-285. Comfy rooms, great staff, a great choice!

Accommodations were clean, staff was extremely pleasant and helpful. I would suggest installing anti-skid strips in the shower. The front desk told me on check out that bath mats were available (which I wasn't aware of) but I think the strips might be better.

Hotel has very clean, comfortable rooms, excellent breakfast, and nice amenities, including guest laundry. Only downside is that it is two-stories but no elevator. Everything worked well, and staff were pleasant and helpful.

We came because of the dinosaurs - and it was pretty much as cool as we expected. Fun for kids and parents. Nice pool, awesome lobby, decent breakfast, and the location was convenient to outdoorsy stuff west of Denver.

Stayed here as we were exploring the Denver area and the Rockies. The room was on the smallish side, but still very nice. The beds were comfortable, and I wasnt as bothered by the pillows as some other reviewers. You could tell it had been updated recently. The breakfast was slammed every day, and you could tell they were trying their best to replenish everything. I did think it was a little more on the expensive side as you weren't super close to the city (why Im dinging a star), but it still wasnt that bad. The area was mediocre. There were a few restaurants and it was close to the highway, but not much else going on. The dinosaur theme was random, but a nice touch. Would recommend, especially if you could get a good price.

This hotel was great. The breakfast was large, the pool was perfect for all levels of swimmers and non-swimmers in our group, especially the young ones. The only drawback was the tiny bathroom in our room.

$160 for this place per night is a rip-off. They have given the interior a new paint job, but the mattresses were worn and old (one was totally broken). The front desk personnel are surly and unhelpful for the most part. The breakfast is OK, nothing special. There was only one small sink area for the bathroom and it was outside the toilet area, why? Just can not recommend this place. For $80-90 during summer season, that would be a fair rate. Just overpriced and that's for starters.

If your child loves dinosaurs as mine does, they will be thrilled to stay here! Tastefully done murals, fossils and skulls of dinos fill this place! For the adults, the hotel is very clean, safe-all outside doors except the main lobby entry is locked 24/7 with access only by room key. Our room was towards the major highway alongside, yet inside our room, one couldn't even hear it. Even sirens were very muted. For our purposes, it was centrally located. If you are interested in dinos, the Morrison Museum they encourage is small and quaint, but my "dino-man" loved it! The foothills are only a short drive away. All in all, I really have nothing negative to say. They offered a hot breakfast (eggs, sausages, waffles) as well as fruit, cereal, danishes, etc. The staff were all ways friendly and curious, as well. We didn't use the pool, but it is an outside one. It appeared clean. Lots of parking as well.

The dinosaur decorations everywhere were so cute! The hotel was nice and clean, the pool was very nice. And the breakfast was a lot better than comparable hotels. The bed was comfortable and I got a good night's sleep. I loved it here!

If you like dinosaurs then this is the place to stay! My son loved looking at all the fossils! There was also a lady in the lobby who was able to answer questions about dinosaurs. The staff was very polite as well. The hotel was clean and well kept.

Absolutely spotless, crispy-clean cotton sheets and a bathroom that looked positively new. Nice towels..... Giant coffee cups to drink from (in your room!), a comfy bed and decent air conditioning. A v nice breakfast (scrambled eggs done perfectly (for me that is) and definitely held at the right temperature). The chap at the front desk (when we arrived) was v friendly, professional and even offered to help us with our bags (thank you). We loved the dinosaur bones and Elizabeth (in the 'library' ... close to the coffee bar (help yourself to all you want!) will tell you everything you ever wanted to know about dinosaurs across this crazy world of ours (also, we were told that the owner/managers are paleo-enthusiast experts.. we thank them for sharing their knowledge!) As for Elizabeth the Expert in the coffee bar..bring a timer or your breakfast might get cold.... We couldn't have asked for more at this place. Stay here.. you will not regret it (excellent parking too!)

We stayed here one night on our way to southwest Colorado. This hotel is very clean and the guy at the front desk pretty nice, too. The dinosaur bones in the lobby are really cool. Our room was clean and had a fridge for our needs. Our kids used the pool which was very fun for them. The pool area is quite different than most hotel pools, not rectangular and boring! There was an area to eat near the pool, too, if need be. The breakfast was good, with hot and cold items. We would for sure stop at this Best Western again. Stay here if you are on the west side of Denver heading out!

This hotel is dinosaur themed and is located near Dinosaur Ridge, west of Denver that offers a tour of fossil beds. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable, Inside and out, the property is well kept. The pool area is clean and had adequate lounge chairs. The complimentary breakfast offers waffles, biscuits and gravy, scrambled eggs and sausage, as well as cold cereals, danishes, hard boiled eggs, toast. English muffins, bagels. fruit. coffee and juice. Parking was adequate but could be a little better lit. The building is back off the busy street so it is not as noisy as it could be. There is self service laundry, although one dryer was out of order. The housekeeping staff was exceptional- trash emptied daily, beds made, towels exchanged, bathroom straightened. We can't give this hotel enough positive feedback. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend this property to families with children who love dinosaurs.

Hotel itself is in a residential/light commercial area and very quiet. The dinosaur theme is interesting and my grandkids loved the pool and sand pile. The lobby area is outstanding. Room smelled musty, not a huge deal. Staff was very pleasant, recognized my Rewards status. The only issue I really had was that the pull out couch in our suite was so old that the springs were sticking out of the mattress and the mattress cover was old and needed replaced, and they didn't provide us with any sheets for it. Needless to say, we pushed it back into the bed and kids slept on the couch and floor instead. So some furniture does need to be updated. The king bed in our suite was wonderful. Breakfast was above average.

We drove 18 hours from Michigan to Colorado in one day, and arrived at the Lakewood, CO Best Western around midnight. I had booked the hotel a few months in advance for four nights from June 29-July 3. I told them we were arriving at midnight and the check-in guy was nice. We went to our room which had two queen sized beds. One of the beds had very obviously been laid in and the sheets were not washed; (hairs/body odor/itchiness/messy sheets). We were exhausted so we just went to bed anyway. The beds were extremely firm and springy, and the pillows were essentially unusable (very small, flat, and lumpy). My girlfriend barely slept at all and in the morning she asked the front desk for new pillows/comforter and asked them to clean the sheets. The man at the front desk on June 30 told her they couldn't do anything for her except clean the sheets and give her an extra sheet as a comforter and offered her a 15% discount. She came back to the room to talk with me. The manager at the time (Alice, assistant GM), knocked on our door 15 minutes later with the extra sheet. Alice basically dropped the sheet into my girlfriends arms and started walking away immediately. My girlfriend asked her to hold on for a moment and talked with her about the pillows. Alice was extremely short and rude to her, and told her "You should have asked for a new room last night when you arrived," essentially blaming all of this on us. My girlfriend was taken aback and Alice just walked away. After hearing how the manager treated her, I went downstairs to talk to the man at the front desk. I told him that we would like to take the discount now and said that I was going to spend the discount on a new pillow. Immediately after I said that, he retracted the discount, literally saying "We can't give discounts for the pillows." Wha? I was seriously questioning him why, and he said that they "folded the pillows in half" and that they were not as small as they seemed. We went back to our room, checked all the pillows, and even brought one down to show him that the pillows were simply too small and lumpy. He said he could do nothing for us. I walked away, and we had to go buy a pillow from the Kohl's down the street. I never received a discount, and that was the last time I talked to the front desk aside from check-out. I told the woman (Kris Rios) what had happened and she was very polite about everything. She was nothing but nice to us and apologized. When I asked if she could give us a discount on account of how terribly we were treated, she said she couldn't because we were "Refused discount per Alice (assistant GM)". I forgot to mention, our TV didn't work at all, the shower ran out of hot water, the ice machine was out of order, and there was very little counter-space. There was literally one small soap holder in the shower. Just many little things that added up to a very uncomfortable experience.

This place is just amazing for the price. The location is perfect. The rooms were clean and roomy. The breakfast was so amazing, and they had a ton of gluten free options! Would stay here again for sure.

My family of 2 adults, a teen, and 2 young boys stayed here for one night on vacation in between destinations. My boys loved the dinosaur dig sandbox, the dinosaur fossils on display in the lobby, and the large pool! The rooms were clean and the breakfast was plentiful and delicious. My only complaint was that the pool didn't open until 10AM. Great stay!

We loved our stay here. With two small kids who love dinosaurs, we had to stay here once I learned of it, and it was a great experience. Aside from the dino displays, there is a heated outdoor pool that was great for playing with the kids. The wifi had a good connection and we could watch a Netflix movie on our tablet in the evening. At breakfast, everything looked good and there were a lot of choices! All-in-all, it was an excellent experience.

Great hotel, super friendly staff. Good internet, good breakfast and facilities. The room was massive and had a separate sitting area that was a big as the bedroom. Great value. Staff were very accommodating as I had recently had a total knee replacement. Plenty of space for vehicles and convenient reserved parking for people that need assistance.

Great family hotel! the decorations were awesome! the pool very large and very clean. Breakfast was the same everyday BUT it was hot and really good so I didn't mind. Pillows were so soft. Great location, everything was nearby. Golden was very close as we visited the Coors brewery.

Outside of the bed and bedding, the hotel has not been updated by the looks of it. Really enjoyed the dinosaur theme. Whether it was a bad day for the staff or just the way it always is, they seemed a little short and ready for their shifts to be over. The location is a little iffy, it was a man parked next to me that would sleeping in his car all night. You could tell by the drool coming out of his mouth that he was sleeping. Not sure I would stay at this hotel again.

From checkin to checkout the service was excellent. The room was large and comfortable. Room had a small fridge which was plenty big enough for two people. There were lots of choices for breakfast. The hotel has a nice collection of dinosaur fossils which you do not at hotels. The pool and hot tub were very large and clean. Located close to great sites, we visited Red Rock, Dinosaur Ridge and Golden, home of Coors Brewing and a great downtown.

Great hotel, Free hot breakfast fast wifi caring staff. Everything we needed & more. Close to many great restaurants/ bars. Pool is heated w/ hot tub. Temp of pool is comfortable & the hot tub was perfect temp w/ strong jets.

Uncomfortable beds, can feel springs & pillows are "chunky", could not get a good nights rest. Breakfast is good and employees are courteous. Housekeeping didn't arrive until late in the day and on one occasion, they left a dirty cloth and trash on the counter top.

Stayed for 3 nights. Room was clean and beds not to bad. Good selection for breakfast. Pool and hot tub nice. Quiet location close to restaurants and grocery stores. Only complaint was how small the bathroom was and no tub in our room ( we have a toddler) pillows were a little uncomfortable as well. Would stay again if in the area.

For some reason, most of the hotels in the Lakewood, CO area were booked when I needed to go due to a family problem. I haven't stayed in a Best Western for many years and was pleasantly surprised by the quality and price of this BW. I will definitely stay here again. The only downside for me was there were many children and they were a little noisy but at night, all was quiet.

We were there for a game and this room was affordable and quiet. I would recommend with no issues. Pool was great. Beds were decent. Staff was friendly. I was happy with my choice my kids were happy and the price was spot on.

I stay there frequently, and it's my favorite Denver area hotel. The one thing that travelers might not like is its distance from the downtown Denver attractions. Otherwise, it is very quiet, with a nice pool with good access to the mountains via US 285.

We had a good experience at the hotel. Our room was surprisingly quiet. Breakfast was typical fare but well presented. Plenty of parking even when we returned to the hotel late at night after a concert on a Saturday night. A good value for the money

Great hotel, nice rooms, terrible customer service but great location easy drive to Denver or Morrison. Comfortable beds clean room. The one time I went to breakfast it was fresh and the biscuits and gravy was good.

This hotel appears nice on the outside and is clean. We had a king size bed with the dumbest small hard square pillows that ruined any comfort. The sheets were stained with some kind of makeup or hadn't been changed. The front desk clerk was rude and abrupt like I was interrupting her night when we checked in. Wouldn't stay there again on a bet. Expensive place. Expected a better night. Won't do it again.

We were pleasantly surprised by this hotel. We chose it because of the affordable price, quick access to Red Rocks, and convenient location between the mountains and downtown Denver. The hotel is nice and clean. The heated outdoor pool and hot tub were perfect to come home to after long days out exploring the area. The staff was very friendly and attentive if you needed something. Free hot breakfast every morning! The dinosaur theme throughout the hotel was something different and I imagine kinds would love it. We found this hotel through TripAdvisor and I am happy we stayed here. Would definitely stay again

We plan a trip every month with a rental of hotel for 3 days to go visit grandkids an disabled daughter. We booked this particular hotel because of dinosaur theme which we seen none of.well to say the least it was the most horrific experience ever.the designated smoking area is right when you walk out the back door now mind you my grandchildren are 2, 3. We always keep the little2 yr old with us because we raised him from birth to yr and1/2 old.now the next day my daughter came over brought 3 yr old my daughter has cognit disorder so you can't stand an scream at her.we we're going out side so I could smoke my daughter went with kids first I followed couple min later well when I got out side the matnance man was screaming at my daughter an 2 yr old an 3 yr old none of them understanding the 2,3 ur old took some pebbles an thru them on the sidewalk which I shoved them with my hand back where they belonged an I had ask maintenance man if I could borrow a broom he never returned until a 1 hr 1/2 later when we went out so I could smoke again an there in the designated smoking area was a dresser drawer so the 3 yr old grabbed it because it was setting next to trash can .we thought it was trash how would we no any different if there's no sign on it.well here come a bunch of people with maintenance man an he was cussing at kids well actually all of us.bad language an all.he had just painted it an set it at the back hotel in smoking area with no sign an thought everyone should no that .i have never been so badly treated at a place of business. I own my own comp I would never treat a client like this. To stress the fact I called corporate they said hotel would rectify it.i said we deserved an apology not one person apologized an argued with me when I left.today.an my 2 yr old g.son never got to play in sand box.or see any dinasours at all.what a waste

If you are booking a reservation at this "pet-friendly" hotel...be aware - you can ONLY book a standard room and it is ONLY for dogs (not cats, mice, guinea pigs, snakes, etc.). The policy is buried at the bottom of the hotel info (I booked through a third party booking agent) and is never clearly stated. You must CALL the hotel and TELL them you are bringing dogs so they give you a dog room. I paid for a suite and was downgraded to a dog room. The hotel refused to refund the difference. Very unhappy and upset about the whole experience-front desk was condescending about the fact that I had not called to inform them I was bringing two dogs (how would one know this is required?!), never said a word about the breakfast, location of ice or Wi-fi. Might be "pet-friendly" but certainly not "people friendly"! Shameful. Room had six burn marks on the carpet and general feel of unseemliness. Room key never worked to open exterior door-had to bang on it and get other guests to open it. Too bad the check-in and room were so poor, because the mattress and pillows were comfy. Bathroom (potty/tub combo) very small, nice grassy area for the dogs, pool looked clean (but never went to it to actually find out), surrounding area is slightly skechy, DH said breakfast was "great for being free". I didn't go check it out, just wanted to leave. Asked the front desk to have a manager call me - have never heard from the manager. I'll look elsewhere next time. I wonder if the suite I paid for was nice?

This hotel is in a tucked away spot south of Denver behind a gas station and a car wash. There are not a lot of restaurants close by etc but it was easy enough to drive any where from this location. The breakfast was good and they serve drinks and have a limited menu later in the day. The hotel was clean and the staff was professional and helpful. We were in town for a concert at Red Rock but had a couple days to hike etc. The location was great for us! It was convenient to zip up to Boulder, Mt. Evan, Golden Gate State park etc. If you are a runner there is a great running/biking path 1/2 mile north of the hotel that runs along a bear creek. You can also take a short drive to Bear Creek Lake Park for some excellent trail running. This location is perfect for a Red Rock concert, very short drive to Morrison.

They had fossils everywhere. You even got to have your own fossil dig right on the property, for free. Which was great when it was too cold to swim. We had a lot of fun. The lobby was also full of fossils and even had a person there to teach you all about them.

This hotel is well above average for a middle of the road hotel. Great for families with a great pool and great breakfast. Staff was always courteous and the hotel was very clean! The price was VERY reasonable. We would definitely stay again on our next trip to the Denver area.

All of the things I require in a sold accommodation are here: clean, friendly, quiet, a bit off the main drag. Zero complaints. AND...they have one of the way coolest dinosaur and fossil "exhibits" I've seen, and I've seen a LOT! It's not really an exhibit per se, just the lobby decor, and it's spectacular! Worth visiting just for the lobby, then stay, too.

I have stayed at this BW over the last three years, multiple times. The staff at this last visit evidently hate their jobs. Every staff member encountered upon check in, check out and in breakfast area was short, seemed put out to be checking you in or out, and just wanted all guest to go away. Breakfast staff was bickering when we walked in. Told us that it would not be ready for a while to please leave the area. (Usually I would have been able to sit at table and watch tv in dining area, or dine on rolls or sweet bread or toast that was ready with coffee if it was a few minutes prior to service time.) I am not sure I will stay at this BW ever again due to the poor service I received. I am not sure if the ownership has changed, but the quality and service is NOT what it once was.

We really enjoyed the overall deal and proximity to the Red Rocks Ampitheater. This hotel offered us a comfortable, clean, and convenient experience. We will definitely stay here again for our next concert experience!

When I get a deal on a room I usually get half assed. I was pleasantly surprised to see that this was not the case. The beds were comfortable, food was decent and the bartender very helpful. The only issue was no hot water, but we didn't mind

My boyfriend and I stayed at this lovely hotel and we enjoyed the dinosaur decor and the incredible friendliness and hospitality from the staff. I liked how the hotel was located near local shops and restaurants l. I would definitely recommend this hotel to any leisure or business travelers!

Enjoyed our stay. Loved the patio and heated outdoor pool. Good breakfast, friendly and efficient staff. The beds were quite comfortable. Neighborhood comfortable and safe as I traveled alone with my son.

Have stayed here before and was pleasantly surprised at the extensive re-modeling. Enjoyed the motif which is based on local archeological discoveries ( dinosaurs fossils), The petrified wood bar top and marble service desk with fossils were beautiful. Wall Murals and in-room artwork were well done. Enjoyed the morning educational talks. A really unique and pleasant hotel experience.

Made a reservation over the phone for 2 queens and roll away bed. This hotel is close to the baseball field and with three beds, it seemed ideal..... until we checked in. Sure the building is well kept and the dinosaur motif is fun. Apparently the kid's dinosaur sand box in front of the hotel is where people go to smoke so we avoided this area. We got to the front desk to check in and we were told that the gentleman who made our reservation is new and we could not put a roll away in our room. Shocked that is somehow my fault, and the front desk man is just looking at me, I ask what my options are: I can go somewhere else or pay for a suite. Tired after a long day, we reluctantly pay more for a suite. Not the way to start off my stay Best Western!! The roll-away is brought to our suite, which is when we find out that roll aways do not come with pillows(yes we did not receive one so we called to request one) Um...what? Ok, guess we will improvise--again. Trying to make this a good experience, we head to the pool. No towels at the pool. Back to the front desk to ask for pool towels. Apparently this is a huge inconvenience for the front desk gentleman. I ask for 6 towels-4 for my family and 2 for the couple next to us. He hands me half of what I requested and tells me he isn't supposed to hand out regular towels for the pool. The customer service here is poor at the most. Back to our room for bed, we pull out the sofa bed...which is not made. I have never seen this before at a hotel. When I should be putting my kids to bed, instead I'm looking through the closets and every drawer for the sheets and blankets. At this point I'm thinking this must be a joke. Until my daughter sits on the edge of the roll away and it collapses. It did not take us long to come to the conclusion that we WILL NOT be back. Sad because we play baseball at the field down the street every weekend for the next 6 weekends. I will go to another hotel, even if I have to drive farther. I gave this place 3 stars because the pool was heated, the hot tub was large and clean, the regular bed was comfortable, the room was clean and breakfast was included. This hotel receives 0 stars for customer service and other services, i.e. roll-away bed, towels, bed not made.

Hotel was great! Best breakfast among class of hotel. Great outdoor heated pool. We were in the pool during the big spring snow storm!! Rooms clean. Matt at front desk is the best!!!! Will definitely stay here again.

Dinosaurs are always cool and this has classy dino presentation but also a fun dig pit for kids. The beds were comfy, the room was clean, the shower was so great (better than trying to step into an old tub and so much room!) There are not many available outlets in the room and not near the beds. Otherwise, a fantastic experience. Will definitely stay here again!

Average to Poor, location was a little difficult to find. Better places in the area for about the same money. Staff wasn't very friendly. Bathrooms are small, no sink inside the bathroom. Beds however were comfortable. Basically we slept well and needed to be out early anyway. First room they gave us reeked of pot. The staff was reluctant to move us.

We stay at the Best Western Denver Southwest on all of our trips to Denver. It's quiet and easy to get to. The rooms are updated , the lobby is very nice, staff is helpful and breakfast is fine. We have stayed here numerous times and every time has been great. We especially like the location for concerts at Red Rocks.

We enjoyed our stay at this Best Western location because the value was excellent for all of the amenities. We loved the breakfast and staff. The beds were very comfortable. The Pool was large, heated, and the surroundings were nicely maintained. The children sand box was so unique and unexpected. The cleaning staff were friendly and hard working. The whole dinosaur theme was creative and fun!

The dinosaur display was phenomenal. This hotel was clean, safe, and a real treat. The breakfast was good, the staff was friendly, and we totally enjoyed our stay. I plan to return with grandchildren.

Stayed here with my family and was shocked at how careless and unprofessional hotel staff were to us as paying guests and rewards members. I was getting breakfast one morning and the timer on the waffle maker wasn't working. So you had way how knowing when your waffles were cooked or burnt. I immediately notified one of the kitchen workers, and she said "Yea the timer doesnt work on it, so you'll just have wing it" I was like are you serious? Real professional manner to resolve a problem for a guest by telling them to "Wing It". No, why don't you put a sign out there for guests to see that the kitchen equipment is defective and report it to hotel upper management....I was baffled by that. I then was trying make some breakfast and put my plate down by the small sink and the same kitchen employee just grabbed my clean plate with her bare hands and moved it over so she could wash her hands in the sink. Ummm..if your hands need to be washed you don't grab a guests clean plate with your dirty hands to move it out of the way to proceed to wash your hands....Didn't even say excuse me either or asked me to move my dish that was in her way so she could wash her unsanitary hands.... After our 5th day there, my wife was checking out. The girl at the front desk didnt ask how our stay was whatsoever or how our experience was there. Just took the room key cards and said thanks. Real professional demeanor towards paying guests whom are rewards members again. The careless attitudes and lack of professionalism from some of the staff is a reflection of bad management with poor leadership and no vision for the hospitality industry. This was our first and last time ever here. First impression is always the last impression!

If you came to Denver to see the dinosaurs (especially if you have kids), you really should stay at this hotel. It's not known as the "Dino Hotel" for no reason (read on). As a hotel, it is pretty nice. Our stay was quiet. The housekeeper pays attention to details, folding little fans into the toilet paper, tissues, and towels. The room was clean and comfortable. There was FREE and remarkably functional WiFi, which is always a plus. The free breakfast in the morning is pretty impressive. There is buffet style hot food (Denver style) with scrambled eggs, sausages, and biscuits and gravy. There were yogurts, hard-boiled eggs, a selection of juices, coffee, milk, cereal, an oatmeal station, and a make-your-own waffle station with a variety of toppings. An excellent way to start out your day. Most notable, however, is the hotel's decor. It was certainly designed with the eyes of a dinosaur fanatic! Even before entering the hotel, you are greeted by a stegosaurus playing ground and a pterodactyl weather vane that is apparently custom-made. As you walk into the entrance, you are greeted by a large range of dinosaur fossils. An impressive stegosaurus cast is embedded again the backdrop as you check in at the front desk. The lounge area is so surrounded by paleontological specimens that you feel like you are visiting the private collection of some renowned fossil collector. All around the hotel, you can expect to meet dinosaurs when you least expect it. Dinosaur impressions hang from the ceiling, include an especially impressive one (see what I did there?) that spans the full length of the dining area. Along hallway walls are framed depictions of various dinosaur imagery. Along each stairwell, there is a large mural replica of paintings from the Yale Museum of Natural History. Even the pool is shaped like an aquatic dinosaur. (And has a hot tub). Overall, the Best Western Denver Southwest hotel served superbly as a place to return to after long days hiking the Rockies, and added additional wonder with its impeccably arranged dinosaur decor. We would definitely stay there again.

Despite not being very close to downtown, it is a quick and easy drive to it. The breakfast buffet was better than most hotel buffets. Cool dinosaur theme that kids will love. The only tip is...if you like larger pillows, bring your own. the beds have small pillows, but you get plenty of them.

We enjoy swimming in the pool and look at the stuff in the lobby,the staff are nice and the room are always clean and the beds are very excited. There could be a better select on the t.v and didn't care for the Marijuna smell other than that love staying here.

Our room was noisy. The room door was metal possibly hollow with a large gap on the bottom. You could hear anyone's conversations up or down the hall plus anyone going in or out the parking lot push latch door could be heard also. The large thin glassed window let in a lot of traffic noise and anything going on in the parking lot was heard also. Something to keep in mind if staying is if you can hear them they can hear you as I found out headed for coffee one morning. Had the privilege of hearing the sounds of a couple having sex in their room as I walked by. Our room was arranged wrong was hard to get two chairs around the table. Had to be on your knees to use the microwave. Two things good was plenty of hot water and pressure to shower. The bed was comfy.

Very nice hotel, the dinosaur items and information were very interesting. Breakfast was very good every morning, and location was convenient for our purposes. Didn't get to use the bar or pool, but they both looked nice and well maintained.

The outdoor heated pool is amazing. Small restroom in room. Clean towels and linens. Breakfast hours are too short and staff fumbled our Grab & Go snack bags and did nothing to remedy the situation. Convenient location and very clean.

We live locally, but have never actually been to the Morrison Dinosaur Ridge. We took the bus tour and stayed at the Best Western Dinosaur Hotel (and suggested they rename the dinosaur behind the registration desk "Reggie, the Registration Dinosaur"). What a wonderful hotel with a wonderful staff. The hotel has a wonderful location near many things, including the movie theater with a free parking garage. WOOT! My husband forgot his pillow there. They got our information and will hold his pillow for us to pick up.

We visited rocky mountains for first time and spent our last nite at this hotel. The pool area was awesome after a long day of sight seeing and hiking! The hot tub was perfect and very clean. Looked like rooms had recently gotten a fresh coat of paint, only issue we had was bathroom door would not stay closed.

Nicely remodled hotel. Good breakfast, great people in the breakfast area and room cleaners. Some of the people at the front desk could use better customer service training. Beds are great, coffee is great and available all day. Very nice pool area and bar area. We have stayed here several times. I recently recommended it to my sister for a block of rooms for a wedding in October. Worked out well.
