« Best Western Meets Our Needs »

We make a point of staying at a BW when ever we can. Always a fair price for a quality stay with friendly staff and clean comfortable rooms. Would recommend BW to anyone who wants a reasonably priced to stay.

« Nice clean hotel with very friendly staff! »

Only stayed for one night, but very pleasant accommodations, fully meeting Best Western standards. Check in went very smoothly with the kind assistance of Darwin. Room was very clean, everything in excellent repair, queen bed was extremely comfortable, and hotel is just far enough off main highway that there was no traffic noise. Mountainview Inn included an excellent hot breakfast (hosted by a most pleasant young lady who'd only recently arrived in Golden from Guelph ON!) Hotel has a nice indoor pool, but we arrived late enough that we did not have time to use that nice amenity! Our only concern was that the hotel had a side access door to allow for easier entry for guests bringing in their luggage, but for security reasons we would have been happier had that side door required our room key to allow entrance rather than being left unlocked all the time.

« Overnight on business trip »

Check-in was quick. Darwin accommodated my request for a 2nd floor room. Room was clean and quiet and comfortable with 2 queen beds, fridge and coffee maker. Good size TV and lots of stations. Did not use the indoor pool. This was a stop-over and not the first time I've stayed here and will stay again if the opportunity presents itself.

    « Great Place »

We stayed at this Best Western October 21-23, 2016 with family members for a total of five rooms booked. We called several times to book rooms and every time the front desk was friendly and accommodating. The rooms are nicely decorated and were spotlessly clean (we had our small dog with us for one night so we were in a pet friendly room). There was absolutely no sign in terms of smell or anything to indicate it was a designated pet friendly room. Our room had a leather sofa bed, flat screen TV with cable, coffee maker, desk with chair and small refrigerator. The bathroom has a blow dryer but does not have a make up mirror. The beds are comfortable and they offer a selection of pillows in each room. We enjoyed the complimentary breakfast the two mornings we were there. They provide a hot breakfast of scrambled eggs, pancakes, bacon, sausages, hash browns and toast. There is also a selection of muffins and yogurt as well as orange and apple juice and coffees (brewed decaf too). We liked the layout of the breakfast eating area and were actually able to use a table in this area to play cards in the evening with all our family that were staying there. My sister had an issue with a slow bath tub drain in her room the first morning and upon mentioning it to the front desk was assured it would be rectified immediately, and it was. We would definitely stay here again and would recommend it to anyone looking for a clean, friendly place.

    « First Rate Service »

A little far from the stepper'downtown' area but is comfortable. Front desk staff ( Darwin) very accommodating and friendly. Provided. complimentary welcome bag with chips, cookies and water bottle. Nice touch. Provided kettle on request but portable coffee maker in room with locally roasted coffee pods (from Nelson). Were permitted to check out one hour later, although I'm certain this varies depending on occupancy. The breakfast was pretty standard but the woman in charge was super friendly and efficient. I would definitely return.

« Comfortable accommodation although in need of redecorating »

Functional hotel on the outskirts of Golden. We used this as a stopover and it did the job. The rooms are large and comfortable but the whole hotel felt a little tied and would benefit from a makeover. There is plenty of parking and a swimming pool.

« Friendly welcome, clean rooms »

Very good Best Western. Inexpensive. Friendly welcoming and great location. Stayed here for two night. Quick check in and very good room with very comfortable bed. Close to town for restaurants although not walking distance from the hotel. Great location for Yoho National Park which I would suggest is more than a day trip from Banff

    « Good family hitel »

Clean and relatively modern rooms. Very friendly and helpful staff. Great place to stay over with kids. Would definitely stay here again. Great location if you are just driving through like we were as it's on the highway.

    « Very Nice »

Hotel is clean, stylish, no signs of wear. Bed was VERY comfortable. Breakfast was the usual average fare. Hotel is kind of on the pricey side. Town is awful, very over rated. i would find a different town to stop in.

    « Good place - good value - clean »

Very nice hotel with super clean and lovely rooms. Mattresses were good and heat/cooling unit worked great. Didn't use pool or breakfast this trip but pool looked nice and breakfast smelled good. Bring your own pillow - pillows were very lumpy - only complaint we have.

    « Trip to Canada »

Will definitely stay at this hotel. One of the cleanest and definitely the friendliest ones that i've been to. The location was great it was right by the highway. The breakfast was probably one of the best ones that I've had....I've stayed at lots of hotels and by far they have the best. The rooms were really, really clean and the staff were very helpful.

    « Okay for overnight »

Parking lot was virtually empty but the gentleman at check in told several others that hotel was sold out. Several buses rolled in later, so hotel is obviously a tour stop. Room was lovely and clean, but the evening and early morning (6 am) noises of doors slamming and people yelling down the hall was very frustrating. Breakfast would have been decent but the buffet was pretty much scraps by time we got there around 8 am - warm yogurt, cold eggs. At that point, with all the buses and majority of guests gone, they didn't out any more food out. There was a Pool, but no hot tub. Probably won't go back.

    « Nice for 1 night »

We drove from whistler to Banff and needed a night rest after the long drive and chose this place. Overall, clean, modern hotel but price in the high side since its close to Banff. The hotel caters to tour groups since it much cheaper to stay outside of Banff and can get busy if you bump into a group. We arrive in the evening about 6pm, nice friendly staff at check in and we also ask for recommendations for food. Was recommended a BBQ house across the road - decent food which we felt met our needs just to fill the tummy and go to bed. Nothing fanciful expected. As tour group tend to depart hotel very early best to avoid breakfast before 8.30am. We were fortunate not to have bump into any big group on our check in date - the biggest we saw was about 20 couples. Breakfast staff were helpful and friendly. Overall there are numerous hotel chains along the highway leading towards Banff - pick wisely. We were ok with our stay (car park view) and sleep was peaceful, comfortable and good.

    « Nice hotel »

We stayed one night on our way through the rockies. the room was spacious and hotel was nice and modern. I see the comments from others re the tour buses. yes we were lucky to check in before the tour bus came and dropped off a large amount of people but were bumped into them in a local eatery which was unfortunate. Luckily we had a late breakfast so they had left before we had breakast otherwise as others said you are at the mercy of the tour buses who basically drop the tourists off and they take over the place! This would be common place in most hotels along this route I would imagine. they arrive around 5pm and leave around 9am in the mornings so you still have a lot of time to enjoy the hotel without the large amount of people. I would stay here again as the hotel was nice and rooms comfortable, there was a heated pool in the winter months and a free breakfast which was nice.

« Damin is the best »

Front desk was very welcoming, gave a great dinner suggestion, very eager to make the stay pleasant. The hotel room was very clean and have no other concerns about the status of the rooms. Nice couch in the room as well.

« too much for so little »

Arriving after a long drive one would expect some warmth at check in Sorry no such luck. we got in the room which was clean and tidy but a saggy bed On asking where to eat for the night we were told that a place near was one but the person hadn't eaten there we went for dinner and on our return the place was swamped with a tour bus standing room only , disorganized chaos pushed and shove by some of the friendliest people around Next morning the tour bus group occupied the free breakfast room with once again standing room only maybe 1 are seat to eat the bacon scrambled eggs and NO FRESH MILK Sorry we have run out was the excuse. why not runout to the convenience store 100metres outside??for paying guest when we departed without milk ,little breakfast we saw the front desk staff coming back with 2 cartoons of milk So ,overpriced , understaffed and under milked not good value for money but somewhere to stay don't count on breakfast

    « Definitely not worth the money ! !!! »

Stayed at this hotel on our way to Banff............ok average hotel. Nothing outstanding . ......poor security as back entrance to hotel did not lock. Very pricey stay at $285.00!!!! Not like hotel is in Vancouver or Whistler , but same prices!!!! Then the hotel PR person told me if I came during off time the price of the hotel would probably fit more into my "budget" !!! How incredibly RUDE of them to say something like that!!!! Would not recommend this hotel, and if we are ever going that way again, would NOT stay there!!! BTW......we had no mountain view....just the parking lot! :(

« A good hotel when you are travelling »

We stayed one night in this hotel and that was just enough. The rooms are simple, but have everything you need. Free coffee and thea and amenities for a bath our shower (in the bath). The staff at the breakfast is very friendly, a plus for this hotel!

    « nice stay »

newer hotel --- clean and comfortable --- check in not so friendly --- he was doing us a favour --- we used express checkout but I stopped at the desk to hand back the cards and was she pleasant , thanked us for staying with them (makes a difference) ---- good standard breakfast in a clean area --- used the pool --- was a bit too warm but nice and clean --- good for aqua exercises --- long walk to main street --- will stay again

« strange breakfast set up »

the breakfast set up was confusing, main meal was on the table ,but for toast i had ask attendant, yogurt, fruit and other thinks were behind counter inside glass cabinet and i had to ask again.otherwise hotel, service were good.

« good place for an overnight stay while travelling »

this is a good, clean simple hotel good for an overnight sty while travelling. rooms are clean, breakfast was great, nice pool to cool off. It is close to the hwy, but still quiet. Because of the location, rates are on the high side. We tried cheaper once in Golden, and got a place that was not good.

« Excellent staff and great rooms and beds »

The hotel is clean and well run with great beds, rooms and breakfast. Pets are welcome and when I lost my cat just prior to departure, the staff were more than helpful in trying to locate the cat. I would definitely stay here again.

« A bit pricy, but this is Golden. »

Stayed here with our dog on our way home. Was more expensive than what I typically expect to spend for hotels in this class, but there were limited options in Golden that would accept dogs. Appeared clean but room smelled odd. Back door to hotel did not lock. Not all that well set up if you have a dog. Entrance to rooms is on inside of hotel. If you have a dog and are staying here, you may want to request a room at end of the hotel so it is easier to take your dog outside. There is a grass area at the back of the hotel and a trash can at the back entrance. In the future, if there was another reasonable choice, we would choose to try a different hotel. (However, if there were no other options, we would stay here again.)

    « Typical hotel »

The room was OK. The ceiling had evident dust webs on it. The room smelled of smoke and we could hear every word the people upstairs were saying. The beds were clean and comfortable. The bathroom was clean and it served our family well for the one night stay on our way back home.

« Very clean hotel, but far away from downtown Golden »

Once again Best Western, did not disappoint!! Bed, pillows, bedding, towels and were excellent. Room was very clean. Front staff helpful and efficient. The hotel is quiet, even though it is not far off the main highway The service road makes for easy access to where the hotels are, gas, DQ, etc. Although the hotel is quite far from the downtown area, which is very nice to walk around in.

    « Best Option »

This hotel is your best option for stopping over. All the other hotels appear to be old and unclean. This hotel is very clean. It has a nice indoor pool and a hot breakfast. Very close to Boston Pizza.

    « Clean hotel »

Clean hotel, reasonably priced... but breakfast was a bit of a disappointment... very unorganized and too much involvement by staff who were too busy. Rooms where very clean, and they were very comfortable. The hotel was quiet. Nice location, easy to find. Close to the Rockies... which was really good.

« The Best Of Best Western »

This hotel is nicely maintained with professional front desk staff at your service. It is very clean and comfortable (my top priorities), and the decor is one of modern simplicity. The only disappointment was the continental breakfast. Food quality and service was poor. Aside from that, I would definitely return for another stay and have no problem recommending it to others when they visit Golden, BC.

    « Good for a stop over »

This was a nice clean and modern hotel with clean rooms. The bed was nice with good bedding. There was a hot breakfast that was included. This hotEl is your best option for Golden because the rest of the towns hotels seem old and a little sketchy. We found this perfect for a stop over from vancouver to banff. There was also a nice indoor pool for kids.

« Nice stop over in Golden BC. »

We wanted to visit Lake Louise on our way to Calgary AB, and discovered the high prices of hotels in that area when looking online, so we stayed at this nice hotel in Golden. The great thing about Best Western is they are always clean, quiet and have wonderful hot breakfasts. We enjoyed our brief one night stay here and would recommend staying here instead of near Lake Louise! There is a good restaurant in walking distance next door for meals at night.

    « Decent stop-over hotel with a waterslide »

We chose the hotel for a stopping point on the way to Calgary. Breakfast is provided and is quite good. WiFi was good. The hotel was clean. Its pool has a waterslide. Best Westerns are always a good bet.

    « An excellent hotel »

We had a one night stop over in Golden on our way to our vacation in the purcell mountains back country. The hotel the is very clean and the room that we had with our two teens was exceptionally large for a regular hotel room rate.\\ The hotel staff upon arrival were extremely pleasant and breakfast the next morning was perfect for the start of our busy day.

    « Pleasant surprise »

As a business traveler, I spend about 120 nights per year in hotels. Best Western is not my normal "brand" but I booked here on Airmiles for a one night stay with my family of four to break up a long drive. On arrival, to say I was pleasantly surprised is an understatement. First off, there was ample free parking. Good start. The property's condition belies its vintage, as it appears to have been renovated recently. The lobby is inviting and the front desk staff were very friendly. In fact, we arrived at 10 pm, the closing time of the pool. The desk clerk offered to extend the pool hours to 11 pm to accommodate my kids - wow! The room itself was spacious, renovated, clean, with a large tv, refrigerator, large bathroom, and most importantly comfortable beds. The air conditioner worked great and did not roar all night like a jumbo jet. Little things like 110 volt outlets on the bedside lamp bases mean so much to today's gadget-happy traveler as well. The breakfast grill area was also clean and comfortable, and ran right until 11 am - incredible! Included with our stay was a complimentary hot breakfast buffet with pancakes, eggs, hash browns, bacon, and sausage links. Also included was a choice of toast, assorted cold cereals, baked goods, yogurt, juices, tea/coffee, and fresh fruit. A fuller breakfast menu offered a wider variety of cooked-to-order options as well. Pretty hard to start your day dissatisfied with your breakfast. The morning staff were also just as cheerful and helpful as the evening staff we first encountered. This is a perfect hotel for families. Clean, fresh appearance, large, spacious rooms with traveling necessities like lots of plug-ins and a refrigerator, comfortable beds, a pool, great breakfast, and VERY friendly staff. We are so glad we broke up our drive and spend the night here.

    « Breakfast chaotic »

The hotel itself is decent & clean but their breakfast has you sitting in the lobby and there's one person who is cooking everything as well as responsible to keep things stocked up. When I went for breakfast every single item was out - at 8:30am including the coffee! She was desperately trying to cook more items and had no time to fill up coffee for example.

    « Just passing through »

This hotel has a new owner and they aim to please. Nice facility with a small lobby. Room was quiet, 30 minute walk to downtown, and breakfast to good. The hotel has an inside pool, but we did not use it because we were tired and time was important. We had express check out and this excellent.

« Expensive and do not recommend the hide-a-bed rooms »

Stayed here for one night and my 16 year old daughter stated it was the most uncomfortable hide-a-beds she has ever slept in....basically felt every spring on her back. She said she hardly got any sleep. I mentioned it to the front desk receptionist in the morning and she just kind of chuckled and said " yeah, those beds are uncomfortable". She may need a course in customer service. At $250/night you would think they could provide a decent mattress for people to sleep on. FYI- room number was 106 (stay clear of this room)

    « Good hotel »

The hotel is located between several Canadian national parks, The service was very good. The staff was extremely helpful. There is new ownership and they are really striving to make this a great property.

    « Average, I guess »

My rating is average because some really great aspects average out against some not great aspects. Great - friendly service, got an early check-in, spacious rooms and very CLEAN! Not great - breakfast was barely so-so. I guess it is as expected for a free breakfast, but I've had better. And the real disappointment was a cold and murky pool. For my kids (age 4 and 6), the pool is the big excitement of staying at a hotel, so extra disappointing that we could barely tolerate the temperature. Bottom line - this hotel is good if you don't care about the pool.

    « Passing Through »

This is a pleasant, quiet family oriented hotel which is both unite and affordable. The rooms and property are clean and comfortable. The staff are helpful and the breakfast a nice start to the day. Pet friendly is a bonus, as is the good sized swimming pool.

    « Excellent Hotel »

Excellent bed and hotel layout Clean and comfortable Breakfast was good price was good Staff was friendly Swimming pool was good size with a full bathroom and shower but we never used the facility Would recommend this hotel and would stay again

    « Great Hotel »

We stayed here for one night and were very pleased with this hotel. Rooms were big and very nice. Thought that the eye covers and ear plugs were a great idea though we didn't need them. Breakfast was good and the staff was very helpful but it was a little slow when it was busy and there was not a lot of seating. You had to wait for staff to make your toast, grab cereal, heat up a cinnamon bun etc. Think it would speed things up if guests could do this on their own though there doesn't seem to be the space to do that. Overall we were very happy with our stay and would definitely stay here again.

« Great place to stay »

The room was very clean, had all the little tid-bits one likes in the room. Beds are a big harder than most hotels. The morning breakfast goes till 11 a.m. which was great for those who like to have a bit of a lay-in and it was very good. This is a keeper on my list of places to stay! Thank you Best Western!

« A mediocre place not worth the rate »

We made a reservation and held it with a credit card however when we were close to the location, we called and were informed that the reservation was only until 6pm. Who holds a reservation until 6pm with a credit card? After a lot of back and forth, they agreed to give us a room without the desired beds for a cheaper (Manager's) special rate. When we checked in, they gave us the desired room for a higher rate. Since we were unfamiliar with Golden, we just took the room. The evening front desk staff was anything but pleasant. Amenities were okay, certainly not Best Western standard. We slept and left, that's all

« On our way to Sicamous »

Stopped here with a group of friends on our way to the shuswaps. Pleasant staff and clean modern rooms. Nice touches In the rooms and flavored water in the lobby. Great to have a pool to entertain the kids. Made to order breakfast a nice idea but they dont have the capacity to serve a lot of people. New owners will be tweaking this I'm sure. I'll stay again next time I'm in this neck of the woods.

    « Newly renovated, modern »

Nice renovation, polite staff, indoor pool. King size bed was very comfortable, room decor was new and modern. Stayed one night on our way from BC back to Alberta, traveling with another couple. The room was big enough for us to all hang out in the evening.

« Great place to stay in Golden »

New owner, and the staff and owner were very accommodating to our requests. The room was very spacious and comfortable. The breakfast was awesome; where can you go and order things from the menu, and served to you fresh. You have an awesome place and keep up the good place you have

    « A Good and Refreshing Experience »

What a delightful, refreshing experience. This establishment has been under new management for one week. If they can keep up their excellent customer service then success is theirs. Checking in was a quick no fuss experience and on turning around we were confronted with coffee and delicious cookies. So welcoming after a long drive. I am in a wheelchair and everything possible was done to make my stay a pleasant experience. They were extremely open to any suggestions that I had with regards to where their accessible accommodation could be improved. Room 105 was very spacious and the bathroom was also a good size. I was even asked if I had any special requirements with regards to the making of the bed. How exceptional is that! Breakfast was complimentary and was very good. These owners deserve to be successful and many other hotels would do well to follow their lead. Can highly recommend.

« Friendly staff and Clean Room. »

Our stay at the MountainView Inn in Golden BC was a great experience. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. Our room was clean and the beds were amazingly comfortable. Overall a good experience.

    « BW in Golden »

Nice front desk and gift upon arrival. Delicious fruit infused water in the lobby for thirsty travelers. The room was updated, comfortable and clean. No free continental breakfast but, cafe was open for breakfast purchases. Coffee available in room to make.

« Very convenient quiet location »

Easy access from highway and many restaurants around although would have appreciated inclusive breakfast. Excellent and helpful staff and our room 224 was actually a suite which had every amenity and was extremely spacious.

    « Fantastic stay »

Beautiful hotel with many amenities. Was a little bump at check in but everything turned out including a comped breakfast at the cafe. Great service all around. Beds were super comfortable, room was clean and little goody bags with snacks awaited us upon arrival. Front desk staff was super helpful

    « Good value »

Great, clean place to stay. Prefer the Plus (breakfast included) but this one has a nice cafe breakfast at a reasonable price. Location is just far enough off highway to cut the traffic noise and no train noise either. is a ways from heart of Golden si if you are looking for restaurant be prepared to do some driving. only thing that would make it better would be a restaurant on site.

« Wonderfully Shocked and Pleased »

Previous guest smoked in the room we stayed in. When reported, it was looked after immediately and was treated with respect, given apologies, confirmation that my issue was genuine and I was generously compensated for my trouble. I did not ask for compensation, nor was I expecting it - only that the problem be taken care of. This is something very rare and this BW should be a beacon as well as a model for every other franchise to copy!!!

    « Very nice property »

This was a very nice property for a very reasonable rate. Our room was large and well appointed. The bathroom was large and well equipped. Each room had a gift bag of snacks and bottled water. The rooms were clean and well maintained. The hotel was close to the freeway and other services. The hotel did not appear to have much of a view except from the parking lot due to a row of tall trees. The room rental did not come with a free breakfast but breakfast is available for a price ranging from $7 - 14. We did not stay for breakfast. I would stay here again if I returned to Golden.

« Great Place to Stay! »

From the moment we walked through the door we felt like we were at home. Staff is super friendly and the hotel is laid out nicely. We double checked our room and it was super tidy and everything was in place. The fact they remembered my name made it an even better experience. I will recommend this hotel to any one heading to Golden, BC. Thanks to the staff!

    « Very comfortable! »

We stopped here on our way home from Vancouver Island. The reservation and check in process were easy. The room was very comfortable and included a breakfast that you ordered off the menu and was quite good. Would definitely stay here again.

« Great surprises from start to finish! »

This may be one of the best Best Westerns we have stayed at. At check in we received a gift bag with bottled water, chips and chocolates. The bed was very comfortable and the staff were very friendly. The biggest surprise was breakfast. It was included with our room price when we booked through the hotel and was not your typical continental breakfast. Each breakfast was made to order, fresh and personalized to your liking - just as if you ordered it at a restaurant. Being someone eating gluten free, they even had breakfast options for that. You couldn't ask for better service from the wonderful lady making the breakfast. Hands down, a great hotel at a reasonable rate!

« A great overnight stop on the TCH »

This is the second time that we have stayed at the BW in Golden. We were impressed with the newly renovated rooms. They were quiet and comfortable. The proximity to the Trans Canada Highway and ease of access are appreciated. Good restaurants, gas stations, etc., are nearby. If you like beer try the Mount Begbie offerings!

    « Great Stay »

We initially considered our stay at the Best Western in Golden to be the best we have ever had at this chain of hotels. The bed was fabulous, large room, very clean, friendly staff, everything about the room was wonderful But we were very disappointed that there was not any breakfast provided the next morning. Not even a continental. Breakfast was there but you had to pay for it. That was a disappointment.

« Very clean and staff were outstanding »

When comparing hotel prices, I found that this hotel was rated the # 3 in Golden, and the price was better than many that had a lower rating. That convinced me! The room was perfect, and very good soundproofing (barely heard any external noise!). The view wasn't the best...though we could still see mountains above the surrounding buildings. We'll definitely be staying at this Best Western again!

« Great place to stay! »

We stayed here as there was a memorial gathering in Golden for my wife's grandmother. Upon arrival the hotel looked great. There was some construction in the front but nothing that could impact a stay and the workers were polite. We were upgraded to a very large room and the entire experience was great. There was a large pool which we did not have time to enjoy but it looked good. No free breakfast though. Once again a great best western stay!

    « quiet room »

Hotel is located far enough off the hiway so there is no traffic noise. Our only disappointment was that breakfast was not included in the rate. As we checked out on Mothers day, my wife was presented with a rose when checking out.

    « Good value »

Large, well appointed, very clean room for a great price (this is off-season). Friendly staff. Behind the Prestige Inn so no highway noise. Hot tub was out of order and the pool was on the cold side - my only complaint.

« Beautiful Hotel, Beautiful View! »

We stayed at this Hotel with our Best Western points. Excellent service, great room and the free hot breakfast selected from the menu was definitely a bonus. We even received a free goody bag on checking in! We will definitly stay at this Best Western the next time we're through the Rogers Pass!

    « Fair Service & value »

Only get one bottle of spring water for me and my wife, when asked, just smile & walk away! what a welcome to BW! No free contential breakfast for BW ????? Baby is cried thru the night & restart 6 o'clock in the morning, tiresome stay, say the least! Next stop will be ramada or holiday inn express

« Exterior not reflective of Quality of Stay »

After visiting Banff on way West stopped for the night in this very small town of Golden. Hotel block off hwy and quiet. Exterior looked tired but inside very nice as were the staff. Helped us get a local pizza that was very good and find a wine store.

« Another great stay in Golden »

This is one of the best of the Best Westerns! Very accommodating and such a great breakfast cooked by a cool staff! We have stayed here many times usually after surgeries in Vancouver and each time the experience is always the same...GOOD!

    « Road Trip »

Went to see my son and I left right after work so I got as far as Golden BC and stopped for the night. It was late but the staff that was there was so nice and courteous and so helpful. I wasn't so to pleased about the morning staff in the restaurant area. It was pretty slow. But all in all it was an enjoyable stay.

    « Good deal. »

Was clean and comfortable. No free breakfast. But breakfast available. No DVD player, but good wifi, new tv. Take appropriate cords to take advantage of wifi for movies. Room has fridge. Pool was clean. Would stay again. Kids were happy and comfortable. Free coffee in lobby, close to restaurants. Price is right.

    « Better than expected! »

We were not expecting much and were very impressed with the very clean and big rooms, wonderful staff, awesome breakfast! The pool looked good too but did not get to try it out. Request a room with a mountain view.

    « Amazing staff »

I would highly recommend staying here if you are in the area. Very clean and amazingly friendly and polite staff. They have an amazing breakfast place downstairs witch makes delicious breakfast. I love staying here when ever I come to golden.

    « Huge Rooms! »

My family of 5 and another family (4) booked this hotel last minute as a stop over from a long drive. We arrived just around 8 pm and were checked in quickly. Our room was huge and had 2 queens and a queen size pull out couch as well. The other family's room was a standard 2 queen room but somewhat larger than the usual. Both of us found our room very comfortable and clean. (The bathroom was large enough to accommodate my husband and I along with 3 teens without stepping all over each other's toiletry bags.) Though there was no complimentary breakfast, the rate was reasonable at around 130. CAD. It was also easy to find being right off the highway but 1 block removed so the traffic was not noticeable We will stay here again the next time we make this trip..

    « Excellent quality motel »

The room (two queens) is first class: very clean, very comfortable beds, good bathroom, lots of hot water. Window opens. Desk staff were more than helpful. South side of building offers wonderful mountain panorama.

« Large well appointed rooms »

Got a deal for booking 3 nights and was allocated a room on the ground floor near the lobby. That normally means lots of noise, but there was hardly any at all. The beds were possibly the best we'd had during a 2 week trip around BC. The free wifi worked fine. Staff were very helpful, and it was possible to get slightly discounted lift tickets for Kicking Horse. The TV in the room was very big for a hotel, around 40" screen, though the remote was replaced with some universal replacement, which made it difficult to view the EPG and see what was on. Minor point for us, as we only wanted TWN. As noted elsewhere, breakfast is not included. The cafe in reception opens at 06:30 and cooks food to order with nice coffee with refill. In the afternoon at some point, complimentary coffee is available from reception too. Has an indoor pool, which looked nice enough, we just didn't have time to use it. Note that there are 2 parts to 11th Street North and if you find the part that's not closest to Highway 1, you'll be a little confused. The hotel is actually easy to find, off the service road next to Hwy 1. There's a great place to eat opposite, though other places will require driving. The staff on reception were helpful for giving local recommendations based on what type of food you feel like.

    « Met all expectations+ »

Stayed here one night on our way west. The whole hotel is impeccably clean throughout, staff are friendly and the complimentary breakfast is hot and the real thing! We will definitely be staying here again hen the occasion arises!

« Great Hotel with perfect views! »

Another excellent Best Western location. I'm in sales and spend 90% of my time on the road. The Best Western chain is my hotel of choice due to it's very consistent excellence in service and value. I've never stayed at this location before and from some of the previous reviews I've read was a little hesitant. I had absolutely nothing to worry about. Another fantastic Best Western! Rooms were super clean, nicely decorated and a bed you won't want to get out of all that topped off with the most beautiful mountain view you could ever ask for. The staff here are typical Best Western, AWESOME! Super friendly, helpful, caring and most important....genuine, they truly care about the quality of your stay. I can hardly wait to get back for another stay. I didn't get a chance to eat breakfast here this stay however it sure did smell good. In my opinion the best views are on the west side of the hotel, don't be alarmed that this side faces the railroad tracks. I was a little worried about noise but I didn't hear a thing. Even the air conditioner / heater in the room was very quiet. Very quiet property overall.

« Best Western Stay in Golden »

Stayed at this hotel for one night on our way home and found the hotel very clean overall, service was excellent, rooms were very comfortable and clean. Breakfast was made to order and very satisfying. Would highly recommend this hotel.

« Clean, Friendly and Afforadable »

Stayed here for four nights after Christmas to ride Kicking Horse and it was pretty good. The rooms were clean and modern, the staff was friendly and helpful and the pool area was nice. I would have given two stars if it were not for the accommodating staff. We had a room right next to the stairwell, and since the elevator was broken, everyone was using the stairs. Normally not an issue, but it seems like everyone who left to go skiing in the morning were wearing their ski boots and running down the stairs. CLUMP CLUMP BANG SMASH THUD!! So we asked to be moved to another room and they did so without question...but we were moved to a room next to the opposite stairwell on the other side of the hotel. I am sure this was not done out of malice because we had "suite" and it seemed like the larger rooms were next to the stairwells. This stairwell was not as noisy, due to the location but it was still used by the Clumping Ski Boot Team nonetheless. They did not have a hot tub but you could use the one at The Prestige just on the other side of the parking lot. I recommend they scrap the pay breakfast and offer it for free, and get a hot tub on property. On the other hand, we did get a heck of a deal so you get what you pay for.

The room décor is excellent and beds are really comfortable. They have re-decorated recently. I have stayed here for the last 20 years for business and always been pleased. The amenities have a breakfast bar if required but you can go around the corner to the sister hotel 'The Prestige' and there is a good value restaurant there. Also a liquor store if needed.

« Great stay in Golden »

I always enjoy my stays at the Best Western Mountain view. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The rooms are very comfortable. The in house breakfast cafe is especially delicious. Every time I'm in Golden, I stay at the Mountain view Best Western.

    « It worked nicely! »

All was working and in good shape. Pool was clean and open. Restaurant smell carried thru the hotel in the am which can be good or bad, depends how you look at it. Parking was easy as was the very courteous check in staff. Room was clean and modern.

    « Stayed for a night »

Good place to stop for an overnighter. Clean rooms, helpful staff. Was here for an evening well working in the area. Breakfast is not super fresh, typical continental breakfast, other guests seemed satisfied. I guess I prefer fresh fruit.

    « Great service and nice room's »

Location (approximately 13km to the ski hill, quality of service and the rooms were all great. Very close to restaurants and the TransCanada Highway. Too bad they didn't include breakfast like other Best Westerns do.

    « Lack of information »

We booked a ski trip in golden and planned to stay at the best western because they told us we could have our dog in the room. Unfortunately when we got there, they informed us that it is not possible to leave the dog in the room while we are skiing. It would have been nice of them to explain more of the pet policy to us before we booked the room. This lack of information caused a lot of unnecessary trouble the night we got there to try to find another place to sleep. We won't be booking with best western again.

    « Great Hotel! »

Stay here a lot with work and have to say the service from ALL the staff is amazing ! The restaurant ( even though it's just breakfast ) is great and very reasonably priced. Rooms and facilities are redone and well kept. Location is good with lots of restaurants close by. The staff here makes it feel like home. They really go out of their way to make sure everything is perfect for your stay. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone one staying in Golden. Other Bestwesterns can learn a lot from this one.

« Attentive staff, huge froom »

Stayed here for just one night but very impressed. The room was huge and the beds comfortable. The front desk staff were great with both local advice and helping us solve a problem of items left at a previous location we had stayed at. The hotel is located close to the main highway which is great for access without being intrusive. We recommend this hotel.

    « A long trip home »

Our trip from Vancouver Island was through heavy seas on the ferry, torrential rain in the lower mainland and the fraser canyon to Kamloops. Then heavy snow through the rogers pass with Ok road maintenance, considering the amount of snow that had fallen. What a relief to check into the hotel that was clean, very well appointed, with free wifi. The breakfast cafe is also very worth while to visit and reasonable.

« Great hot freshly cooked breakfast »

We usually stay at this hotel when travelling through Golden. Very comfortable with all amenities. Breakfast is the best compared to what you usually get in a hotel. Ate at the Greek restaurant in town. Comfortable quiet room. Full swimming pool.

« Good choice for the night »

Nice & clean, very quiet, friendly staff. Breakfast included, order from menu, lots of choices. "Welcome bag" was a nice treat. Would recommend staying here and would definitely come back. No traffic or train noise. Large rooms, big TV, quiet heat system.

« Good place in Golden »

Nice hotel in Golden just off the highway. It has a very nice mountain view. Very quiet. Did not hear highway traffic or trains. Room was very large and clean. Easy to get around town from there as well.

    « very friendly staff »

this was a very clean hotel, with very friendly staff. Enjoyed getting the "welcome" bag with treats! They were able to check us in right away even though we had arrived early. Would stay here again. was close to all the places we were visiting.

« Stay at Best Western »

We were traveling through Canada on our way home. We needed a comfortable place to stay and was able to find this Best Western on our travels to the United States. We were able have a good nights sleep and feel rested before our continued journey home. Our overnight stay was clean and comfortable.

    « Very comfortable »

Beds were extremely comfortable, staff very courteous and coffee and cookies provided in the evening. Very convenient location beside transCanada Highway but very quiet. Breakfast not included but available to purchase and many restaurants within walking distance.

    « Great stay »

We enjoyed our stay at the Best Western Mountainview Inn in Golden. The staff was very helpful in directing us to local destinations of interest; the food at breakfast was very tasty; great coffee! If we travel through Golden again, we would certainly plan to stay there.

    « great hotel »

This was a great hotel very clean and bed was so big we could have had 4 in it . great location in Golden and front desk told us were to have dinner at a great restaurant would recommend this hotel to everyone

    « A-One »

This was an excellent hotel. Staff was exceptional. We stayed 2 nights, third night we had to move and the reception staff was very obliging. They moved our luggage to the room so while we were out we didn't have to go back to check-in into the new room..

« Golden, BC Best Western »

Only hits the average rating. Our breakfast wasn't included. Doors were paper thin so we were up all night because of noise in the halls. Couldn't have our window open all night as we were on the ground floor and there was no sort of security. Hotel was clean, staff was very pleasant, bed was comfy and the bathtub was comfy. Wish I would have had time for the pool. It looked very nice.
