"Not nearly as crowded as pre-Covid"

Stayed here a number of times, both to and back from Florida. Never had a bad experience (once had some noisy guests above us and front desk credited me the points for the nights stay). Rooms are clean. Beds are comfy. Pillows are "just right." Even bathroom amenities are good. Only complaint is breakfast quality and selection has gone down since pre-covid. (this isn't a criticism of this one location, it seems all hotel chains have found a way to cheapen their free breakfasts.) And, in the past, this hotel and all others in Erie were always filled up with travelers (lots of Ontario cars.) Seemed to be 1/3 full when we were there in May/2022.

"Mostly clean"

The hotel is nice. The front desk lady is so very kind and helpful!!! She's the best part of this hotel. The room was clean, however, someone used the toilet after cleaning and didn't flush or reclean it. The breakfast was so nasty, we threw it out and went out for breakfast.

"A great place"

This hotel has been our choice to stop and rest before heading home to Canada for the past 5 years. It is strategically placed near the highway and around some great restaurants. The staff is very friendly and very accommodating. I would recommend this hotel!!

"Never been bad but they are improving"

Stayed there last night. Have stayed there once or twice a year prior. Always had a decent to good experience but the Assistant Manager that checked us in and oversaw the next morning breakfast was exceptional and made certain everything was right. I don't remember her name but she had a short hair cut. Her interactions, her asking questions were welcoming and friendly. She made herself "approachable" and is a credit to their staff and training.

"Clean Great Location"

We found this hotel to be a great value AND nicely kept. The staff we encountered were super friendly. the room was clean. We used the pool area. It too was clean. The water temperature could have been a little higher. Breakfast was the usual hotel experience. The floors were not sticky.

"Worst Hotel experience"

Room was dirty with hair balls on bathroom counter and dirty table. Workers were not friendly, very rude, and very poor service. The breakfast was non-existent. Ran out of everything and could not get workers to get more food or milk.

"Go elsewhere!!"

Go elsewhere!! Room was nice enough, but very loud overnight. Obviously partying and slamming doors. Called to complain to the front desk. They said they would take care of it, but came to the floor and told loud people what room # was complaining. So then we had people pounding on our door later in the middle of the night. We have a child with special needs, and just wanted to sleep. Absolutely ridiculous how rude other people staying here were, and the staff to tell them who made a complaint!!!

"The older front desk clerk"

He just keeps knocking on my door saying we're loud. He gets rude and disrespectful and threatened to call the cops several times. I took videos of him lurking around my room and took pictures and videos of the tv number the volume is up. He is very rude and he needs some to happen for his conduct. I will be sure to report this to the higher ups at the hotel and the sister hotels around it.

"Nice place. Bad people."

If you're by yourself and want quiet - great. Stay here. Otherwise, they don't want you to gather in any hotel spaces except during breakfast, and won't allow anyone to bring in alcohol. So don't go with a group and definitely don't go if you're part of a hockey team. They won't respect you no matter how nice you are.

"Great Overnight Experience "

Nice to stay in a fairly new hotel with a nice size room and friendly staff. Second time staying at this property. Stayed a night in a nice size room with a king bed on the second floor. Nice size of bathroom and I did like the glass sliding door. A nice breakfast selection with both hot and cold choices. Loved the begels as I found them thick and very tasty. Overall a very nice experience and I look forward to coming back.

"Do not stay here!!"

I highly do not recommend staying here if I could rate this hotel a 0 I would!!!! Our room wasn't clean and there was terrible customer service at the front desk, damn shame! I will never stay at a Best Western ever again!!

"Amazing service and spacious room for an affordable price!"

We unexpectedly stayed at the Best Western Plus due to weather as we were traveling through. It initially wouldn't have been my first choice, but after having stayed, I know we'll stay here again! The staff and management were so kind and accommodating, from Theresa who checked us in, to Ann who brought our kids special breakfast bags. The breakfast options were served hot and consisted of staples like bagels, fresh waffles, bacon and eggs, etc. We enjoyed the food! The room was spacious and gave us room to spread out and relax. The only thing keeping me from a "5" review is that I had to move the nightstand a bit to unplug the alarm clock (so my kids wouldn't be tempted to play with it) and it was clear that it hadn't been cleaned behind for some time. The sides of the nightstand looked dirty as well, or perhaps a too-abrasive cleaner was used and took off some of the veneer. All-in-all, we received a great value for what we paid. The staff were amazing, the room was great, and the internet was fast. Thanks for a nice place to stay!

"Could use a deep clean in room"

It was a quiet stay. Had to pool to ourselves. The room needed a deep cleaning. I showed the front desk and the looked at it but nothing was really done except a discussion on who didn't deep clean the room. Breakfast was good & hot. Nice selection.

"Very good room. Some service issues kept it from 5-dot. Good COVID practices."

Quick summary: very good, clean room with many comforts. Value-plus hotel. Nice pool. Usually excellent management, but the evening manager could use a brush-up on service and professionalism. Easy off !-90, with many restaurants down the street. This is a favorite "value-plus" hotel we rely on for our trips between the Midwest and East Coast (family visits.) This time, we were in room 220, which has two comfy queen beds, lots of pillows, hygienic duvet bed linens. Coffee-tea maker. Good work desk and ergonomic chair. Many of the amenities that keep us fans of Best Westerns: microwave, fridge, TV works well, iron/board. Lots of plugs for charging your devices. Good TV channels. Good lighting. Complimentary wifi works very well. Roomy shower (no tub.) Shampoo and body lotion toiletries (and soaps, of course.) No room safe - it seems that many hotels are getting rid of them. There might be one at the front desk if you ask. Excellent housekeeping. Good breakfast, including some hot items (scrambled eggs, and perfectly done bacon,) make-iy-yourself waffles, cereals, yogurt, breads, pastries, bagels, good coffee. No fresh fruit this time. My only concern is that utensils on the hot items are shared. There is an indoor pool that children from a lacrosse team were enjoying when we were there. IT always seems clean and well-maintained. Nice public areas - breakfast room, lounge. Good COVID-safe practices. Guests are asked to wear masks in public areas. Things seem very clean. Easy off !-90 intestate. A number of restaurants are just down the way on Peach Street. I usually give this place 5 dots, but our experience with the evening manager this time dropped the rating. In the evening, We found there was no hairdryer in the room. (PLEASE people - don't take the equipment!!!) When we called down to ask for another, no one answered. We tried housekeeping. No answer. Frankly, we had seen the person who checked us in, outside at the front entrance, smoking a cigarette, when we came back from dinner. While everyone is entitled to a break, it seemed that NO ONE was on duty to answer a phone call for a while. When we did get a response a little while later and asked for a hair dryer replacement, we were told that "no one tells us that things are missing." (Really? The management doesn't have good communication with housekeeping, that should check the room amenities?) Can I also mention that the manager smoking out front makes the place look like a low-rent motel, when this is actually a very nice hotel? Anyway, she said that she would check the storeroom, and call us back. Half an hour later (no call from her,) I called to ask. She said they had none. First time I've ever had no hair dryer in staying years at Best Westerns. I tried again in the morning, when I assumed someone else would be on duty. This lady was the general manager, and was very friendly and professional. She quickly checked a back room from the desk, and brought out a hairdryer!!! She apologized for the trouble, and said that there were more hair dryers on order, and commiserated that they keep "walking off." (Again, I sympathize -- PLEASE PEOPLE -- don't steal things from the hotel!!!) So - I'm sure we'll stay at this hotel again. I just hope that evening manager gets better training. Her initial welcome could also have been friendlier. At a time when labor can be hard to find, I don't want her fired, but she would benefit from better training and more professionalism. She's young.

"Pleasant stay"

Breakfast was hot and lots of variety. Pool clean and warm with plenty of towels available. Staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful. Place was very clean and welcoming. Halloween decorations were a nice touch. Will 100% stay there again

"Great room, but very noisy"

The room was great. The check-in/ check out was great. The noise was unbelievable, kids running the halls yelling to each other, noise all night long, doors slamming, loud conversations at 3am. We had an eight hour trip ahead of us on 4 hours of sleep. It made for a tedious drive.

"stay somewhere else"

elevator not working, filthy hallways, garbage in halls overnight, stained carpets, empty vending machines, no maid service, very limited breakfast just cold cereal and muffins, juice machine out of order. litter in parking lot, carpets in room not vacuumed, shower not clean. Everything blamed on Covid. Rooms and lobby nicely decorated. There are many other hotel choices in Erie.

"Hotel was a disaster"

Our hotel experience started out when we checked in the Best Western. The front end check assigned us to room 210. When we walked in the room it was a mess. Popcorn kernels were all over the floor and the beds were not made up. Garbage was all over the room. We immediately headed back to the front desk and were given another room that had the same issues so we we back to the front desk and received the keys to our third room. In this room the dirty bed sheets were thrown in the closet. We decided to keep this room. We had over 15 rooms booked and everyone had issues

check in time was supposed to be 03:00 pm. we didn't get in until 5 pm because of no cleaning staff. No towels in the room, just the little ones. Room was not as clean as it should have been. The worst part was the air conditioner was terrible. WE set it on 65 to try and get cooler but the coolest it got was 75 degrees it was miserable. Also, no towels were in the room, we had to ask for them, which isn't a huge deal, just inconvenient. WE paid over 200 a night for this room. I personally would never choose a Best Western, but it looked newer and nice...never again. Too expensive for what we got....and misery at 75 degrees was the worst part.

The rooms were clean and comfortable, very up to date and the large refrigerator was a plus. Even the pillows were comfortable! Front desk staff was efficient and knowledgeable. Housekeeping was accommodating and checked mid stay to see if there was anything they could do. Will definitely stay here again on my next trip to Erie.

"Lack of staff = uncleaned rooms, no bathroom supplies, skimpy breakfast"

My family and I stayed one night. My sister's family checked in walked into unmade beds and a used bathroom. There room hadn't been touched since the last guest. Our room seemed fine but when we crawled into bed we noticed a tissue in the sheets. The tissue was clean, but it was obvious that the linens had not been changed. Someone just came and made the bed. Also, the shampoo and conditioner in the bathroom had not been replaced, so they were empty when we tried to use them. But I don't blame the cleaning staff. I blame the management. This Best Western needs to do one of two things: 1. Pay the most important people in the hotel a decent wage so they can get adequate staff or 2. Don't overbook so much that the skeleton staff can't possibly handle the workload. A clean room is the most basic thing to expect in a hotel.

"Must be desperate to stay here"

For about $300 a night you get dirty room floor, bathroom counter about to fall off, only one working elevator that makes horrible noises and hallway carpet you better not look at if you want to keep your breakfast down. And so on... Nice staff that tries, but this place needs TLC.

"Don't stay here"

This was honestly one of the worst hotels I have ever stayed at. We payed $150 for one night and were very disappointed. Right off the bat the desk staff looked unenthused and took forever to check people in. We were provided no towels and when we asked for some we were told they were “in the dryer”. We provided our room number to have them delivered when ready... we never received any towels. We weren't able to shower or even wipe our hands because of this. The room didn't look like it was cleaned at all. Toiletries were opened and resealed. Kleenex was empty. There was hair on the bathroom floor and the bottom of the shower was dirty. Beds were old and uncomfortable. I'm guessing the sheets were not cleaned just based on the overall state of the room. The hallways were filthy and looked like leaky bags of trash were dragged across them. I'm usually not one to complain and best westerns in my experience have been reliable... but not this one. Breakfast was very poor as well. I would have paid about $50 for an experience like this. We were told at check out that they had a cleaning crew come in that essentially didn't do their job. They said it's hard to find staff during the pandemic, which is understandable, but there still needs to be accountability. If you don't have the staff, don't book as many rooms... and inspect them if it's staff you are unfamiliar with. Honestly really unacceptable. They should have given refunds based on the state of things. We did not receive half the amenities to at we paid for.

"Do not stay here!"

This hotel should not be accepting customers for the simple fact that they do not have the supplies nor the staff to run it effectively. Most importantly, there were no towels in our room at check-in, nor were there any available when we asked. Our family of 4 had to share 2 towels we finally received this morning and used a washcloth as a floor mat. Only one elevator is working. This is so much less important, but all carafes for coffee were empty as well. When you have driven all day and things are stressful, the absence of coffee is just an added bummer.

"In Need of TLC"

Overall, the room wasn't bad, but on arrival, my wife noticed the floor hadn't been vacuumed, or not very well, as there was a woman's swimsuit and candy pieces in front of the TV cabinet, as well as in and around the closet. We brought this to the attention of the gentleman at the front desk, twice, and even after having the room cleaned the next day, the candy was still on the floor. Seriously? I know there is a general lack of good help lately, but if you have a hotel, you should be holding staff accountable for poor work performance. Aside from this, the room was decent, shower was always hot, and the AC unit worked well. I would stay again, but would definitely ask for another room if I had to deal with a dirty one again.

"Worst stay ever at a hotel"

Check in was awful, staff member took a long phone call while checking me in and then started to text on her phone took almost half hour to check in. No room service for towel, only two towels were provided and then the next day asked about getting fresh sets was told I needed to come back later. No cleaning staff onsite! Breakfast was awful for the price we paid per night (don't give me the Covid talk) Pool was not open!! Staff did not know how to run the check-in computer. This was the worst experience we ever have had a hotel. Need new management or you guys need to do more training on how to treat guests. I know covid is going to be an excuse but for poor guest care and attention we received is a hotel problem. I will give you a F- if I could. Shame on your Cooperate for allowing this to happen!!

"Worst stay of my life"

The shower was dirty when we arrived. The bed was made but the sheets were not clean. We stayed for 4 nights and never had our room cleaned or serviced. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. The clerks were nice, but couldn't do anything about the dirty room

"Noise Issue"

We commuted 500+ miles in the same day. We had a good stay, however, my girlfriend and I were trying to get sleep and after a long day of traveling and passing by into town on our road trip, we were upset about a sports team in our area with children running up and down the hallway screaming and shouting in the middle night. This was totally unacceptable. Everything was good except the noise. As a recommendation, I would hire a security team on Saturdays when events or sports team that are in house to monitor noise issues or complaints. I am sure I am not the only one that had to deal with same issue.

I booked this hotel through a 3rd party and the pictures were INACCURATE! My Mom hasn't been able to leave her home town for @ 2 years due to health issues with her and my Dad so I wanted to take her away for a girls weekend and booked this last minute. Not only were the photos misrepresent, so were ALL OF THE AMENITIES!! Not only wasn't there breakfast, which is understandable with COVID, there was NO COFFEE, THE FITNESS FACILITY WAS CLOSED AND SO WAS THE POOL. None of these are a surprise given COVID, but none of that was mentioned on their website or the 3rd party's. VERY DISAPPOINTING. We were told that all of ERIE was experiencing shut downs of public spaces due to the pandemic and this was the reason, along with it being Best Western's policy. So, fortunately ERIN AT FAIRFIELD WAS AWESOME! She helped us with a room last minute and was so friendly. GO TO FAIRFIELD!

Stayed here multiple times with out incidence prior to 2/13/21. New managment. On check were told systems were down, were making physical copies of all ID and Credit cards, uneasy with this.. Had to fill more paperwork than ever had to in any other Best Western. When presented earned gift cards, stated wouldn't be a problem to use, didn't want to take copy at this time. Not all desk staff were wearing masks. Were told by desk staff that pool is only for medicinal purposes. At 8pm systems still down, didn't want to take gift cards still. Hallways dirty. Mattress & box spring to big for bed base hanging over. In am when went to check out at front desk, no one was there and had to almost yell for someone to come out. Credit card was processed by night manager, with no adjustments for gift cards and a charge for incidentals of $25.00, that we never used. Did not provide a receipt, never said I'm sorry for the inconvience, just that he does not have anything to do with the processing and that his systems were still down. Also, never received the water and points at checkin for being Gold members. Very disappointed. Would not recommend staying at this hotel.

This hotel and location affords many shops and businesses to visit in the nearby area. There is easy traveling access from both interstates and heading to the New York and Canadian borders. The safe environment and big parking lot is a plus.

"New facility but poor customer service"

We usually stay at a Best Western when traveling in the US (as opposed to resort or foreign travel) because the experience because the hotels offer solid value, a usually comfortable bed, cleanliness and value. However, at this hotel, we were told the "computer was down" and as a result the king-bed suite we had ordered was not available--they had no idea what rooms were available--despite only a few cars in the parking lot. Despite the alleged problems, only an experienced clerk was on hand to handle the problems. Instead of the room reserved, we were given a queen double, which means no couch. The first room we were given hadn't been cleaned. Fortunately there was another room available (insert sarcasm emoji here). We asked to speak to the manager. Everytime we went by the desk, the manager wasn't in the building, and the manager never returned our call. We were obviously being dodged. On checkout we were asked if we wanted a refund in the difference of the room rate--in other words, do you actually want to have the price dropped to what you actually received rather than the premium room you paid for. We won't be returning to this hotel.

"Nasty bathroom"

It is extremely dissatisfying to pay $202.27 per night (including tax) and have a bathroom be as disgusting as ours (room 408). We took photos and showed them to the desk clerk upon checkout. She asked us to text the photos to her so she could show them to her manager. The soap dish in the shower had blue colored body wash all over it, the corners inside of the shower were disgusting, the backside of the sink was dirty, the toilet seat was broken, the caulking around the base of the toilet was obviously corroded away from all around the base & there were black marks on the wall by the bathroom trashcan (most likely caused by some sort of liquid splashing on it when something may have been tossed into the trashcan). Seeing this concerns us because all hotels claim that each room has been thoroughly cleaned especially during the time we are dealing with this COVID pandemic. This experience would make it extremely hard to book again with Best Western when we paid a lot of money.

"Comforting welcome"

My husband and I were nearing the end of a long road trip and stuck in a massive traffic back-up north of Erie when I called the Best Western Plus to inquire about room availability. Because I couldn't predict an arrival time, I was concerned that there might be no rooms available. I spoke to Katie, whose phone presence couldn't have been more warm and welcoming. She assured me that there would be a room available when we arrived, without requiring me to reserve it. When we did arrive, she was just as warm and welcoming. The hotel itself was quiet, the room clean, and we slept well before departing for home early the next morning. Travel in the time of COVID is not relaxed or easy but Katie and the hotel's cleanliness helped us to feel comfortable.

Our family stayed in a king suite with a pull out sofa. It was a nice room, beds reasonably comfortable. However, our room was 104 which is right by the lobby. Thankfully it was not a busy time in the hotel and since there was no breakfast being served it wasn't as noisy as what it could be at other times. Early in the night we did hear people as they were talking to the front desk attendants, but for the most part it wasn't as bad as I expected. Now, here is my Covid review. It was our first time traveling during this outbreak so we did not know what to expect. SO, my review is to help other travelers who also are traveling during this time to have an idea of what to expect and is not meant to be a complaint for the hotel. At this time, it is what it is and I know they are doing their best. During our 3 night stay there was no housekeeping. They told us this on arrival and that was okay with us, but was something I like having when I am away. Also, since we spent time at the beach, we did have a good bit of sand in the bathroom that we just had to live with. Also, because of no housekeeping, we had to ask for extra shampoo etc and we only had a partial roll of TP so had to ask for more. If housekeeping is not going to be there, they should leave the rooms better stocked knowing people will be needing these items. Also, the breakfast is a bag that you pick up from tables in the lobby. The bags are said to contain a piece of fruit, a water bottle, and a granola bar and are available until 9. I went out the first morning and there were only kid bags available and no fruit. The next day there was only one bag that had fruit and no others. The last morning we finally each got a piece of fruit, granola bar and water bottle. Also, there is no coffee available. This was the worst for me. I like being able to grab a cup while getting ready for the day. There is a gas station across the road, and the coffee was good. It would be nice if the gas station and hotel would have some kind of agreement since the hotel doesn't offer a coffee station. Maybe offer a 20% coupon to be used at that gas station or something along those lines. Like I said, not a complaint, just so people are prepared. Also, pool is closed. I would likely stay at this hotel again, it was clean and well decorated, seemed newer. Staff was friendly. Just tough on everyone during this outbreak period.

Prior to my recent contacts with Katie, the general manager of the Best Western Plus in Erie, PA, my dealings with Best Western hotels had been very good. My wife and I have stayed at other Best Westerns in Pennsylvania and various locations in the eastern U.S. over the past few years, and we are Platinum Rewards Members. Unlike other friendly and courteous Best Western personnel we have interacted with, Katie consistently demonstrated an aloof, brusque, argumentative and un-accommodating manner throughout my telephone communications with her. Unfortunately, her final act was even worse than her telephone behavior. After calling the Best Western 800 # and reserving two rooms for two nights at her location on July 3, 2020, I spoke to Katie on July 6 about the possibility of receiving a better breakfast beyond the spartan brown bag fare that she and her hotel were offering. (Other Best Western locations do provide much better brown bag breakfasts.) She obstinately refused to consider other options that I suggested. I gave her my direct, verbal review that she was on the “low rung” of the ladder of people I had previously dealt with at Best Western, whereupon she repeatedly, defiantly asked me if I wanted to cancel the reservations. I said I would think about it and ended the conversation. Over the next few days, I chose not to cancel and continued planning for my family's scheduled arrival on Monday, July 13. Unexpectedly, I received a telephone call from Katie at 12:56 p.m. on Friday, July 10, the last business day before my family was to arrive, and, in an apparently vindictive snit, she informed me that she had unilaterally cancelled our reservations. I was not happy about her call, and I told her so, but I was not going to argue with her any further. The call lasted less than a minute. I wholeheartedly agree with the numerous “terrible” and “poor” ratings given the Best Western plus Erie on by other guests, many of which emphasized deficient customer service. I really do not want to have “one rotten apple spoil the bunch,” and I am wrestling with whether I should simply cancel my Rewards membership with Best Western and never again go to their hotels. Regrettably, it does not appear that the corporate offices of Best Western care that much about the behavior of staff at their independently-owned locations or in protecting the Best Western brand. I was told that the only thing they would do was prepare a “customer care ticket” and forward it on to the ownership of the Erie location. I have heard nothing else since then. SMH. Richard L

This is a Best Western, in Covid Country. Just a couple of traffic lights away from I90, across the street from a gas station. Lobby entrance is not obvious, but, is not hidden, just drive around the street side and it is then obvious (we arrived about 11:00 PM. Wear a Mask for check-in. Our man at the front desk, “Taz”, was warm and genuine in his greeting, appropriate and thorough, and concise, made sure that we were well informed, without making us more exhausted after our 14 hours on the road travel. Pool and fitness areas are closed, no breakfast (but Taz had great suggestions as to places to find food). King size bed room as expected, and shouts “clean”!

The hotel is located within 5 minutes of I-90. The woman at the front desk was friendly and helpful with a good attitude. Our room was small with no furniture to sit on except for a desk chair. Bed was comfortable but sat high. Washroom was a good size with tub. Room was clean. Due to pandemic they were unable to offer breakfast but the woman at the front desk was able to give us some pastries. Very nice of her. She also was helpful with directions to near by restaurants. Would stay here again.

Spent the night with family and kids and booked over a month in advance. Staffing issues caused a delay in getting our rooms but we were compensated with great discount on our rooms. Our rooms were clean, pool area was clean and warm overall newer hotel in great condition. Assuming lack of staff led to over flowing garbage cans at breakfast and at the coffee station. Parking lot and front drop off area in definitely not big rig friendly. We had to make a 5 point turn to pull up at the front of the hotel with our mid class SUV, but parking was good, just no room for anyone with a bus, camper, tractor trailer etc. Overall good stay, breakfast and fairly clean. Fully staff this place would shine I'm sure.

You have to be patient to find the best rate for this property, but it will be worth it. It's so new, it almost has the new car smell. Check-in was efficient and cheery. Our room was well sized, very up to date and spotless. Lots of receptacles for the devices. Good WiFi speed. Good TV channel selection. Great shower and quality toiletries. Very comfortable bed. It's a keeper. The only drawback is the parking lot design - the bulk of the parking is not adjacent to the main entry.

The Ohio State Women's Club ice hockey team stayed here for the weekend. The staff was amazing. Katie the GM was extremely nice and helped us feel comfortable. We celebrated a birthday and she set us up with all the utensils for the cake. Mel, Amanda and Jamar were friendly front desk workers. They got us whatever we needed to feel at home. The rooms and common areas were also very clean and nice! Overall great stay.

The staff lead by Mama Bear Katie were very friendly and understanding. We were their with a group of hockey players and their parents boys were 11 and 12 years old. She had her staff make waffles in advance as the boys first game was at 7:30am and they needed to be there at least one hour before game time and the breakfast hours were from 7 - 10. She knew they needed something in their stomachs before they could play so she accommodated us. Thank You

We stayed here for the night after being caught in a snow storm. They allowed early check in and offered a last minute storm rate. Pool is very basic and does not have a hot tub. The hotel is quite new, 3 years I believe, and is very well decorated.

My husband accidentally left his wallet at the hotel and we did not even notice it was gone. The hotel actually called me to notify us it was there and arrangements were made for it to be returned. This hotel is near pristine in appearance! The rooms are gorgeous and everything is made out of great quality material! Hilton comfort for a better price! The breakfast had options for Keto, dairy free, gluten free and was still kid friendly with cereal and waffles. Our double queen suite more than comfortably housed my husband and I and our four kids!

The hotel is beautiful, the rooms are beautiful, the outside property is beautiful but it is almost always short staffed. I've stayed here many times and have never had a problem. I hope that doesn't change but I do hope to see more hotel staff working each shift. Emergencies do happen and 1 person can't deal with everything. I hope the owners/management company take this comment seriously.

"Avoid if possible"

This hotel is in dire need of help. The cleanliness of the rooms is poor-sheets not clean, dust and dirt in bathrooms, etc. Elevators do not work properly-at one point both elevators were not working. Breakfast area was unclean, toaster and waffle maker were broken.

The guy at the front desk didn't acknowledge that we were Elite members and didn't offer us our free snack or reward points for no maid service... when we checked in and asked for an upgrade he didn't know what I was talking about and didn't know that the hotel had suites..

The room needs to be checked by supervisor(s) of housekeeping at times to ensure cleanliness. My toilette had poop on the back of the bowl. The floor of the shower was visibly dirty. You could also see mildew along the base of the shower. There was brown water in the coffee pot. The socket did not work.

This hotel has a pretty good location near to the mall, various restaurants, walmart, etc. The room was ok - we had a king bed suite - the best thing was that the kids could just sleep on the couch bed and they had their own tv. Breakfast: On Friday morning, the lady who managed the breakfast was awesome. SHe quickly replenished any items and was super helpful with the waffle machine, etc. All of her hardwork was 100% wasted once the weekend staff arrived. Breakfast was slow, items hardly replenished etc. I had to keep asking for things and at that time, as opposed to bringing them out for everyone, she simply just gave them to me. Pool: on the website it says HEATED pool - the pool was 100% COLD! The pool either needs fixing or the website should be appropriately updated. Grab & Go breakfast: I have stayed at many BWs and I have never seen a grab & go breakfast that I had to pay for. In Anaheim when we stayed at the BW near to DIsney the grab & go was complimentary. I was so confused about this that I had to call the BW 1-800 # - still nothing much was done. Also, BW usually welcomes you with a bottled water in your room/ if you ask at front desk - no such luck at this hotel. Overall, I will never stay @ this BW again - too many options in the area to put up with this poor service.

"Nice Hotel"

The hotel was overall nice. A little worn for bring a new hotel. Carpets need to be replaced outside The elevators. BreakfAst was lacking. The breakfast Fridge was empty and no regular syrup and no coffee lids.

Staff was not concerned about our stay in anyway, our bathroom was not cleaned, our room door was left open after cleaning with many valuables inside for the taking. Clean rooms but guests should be made aware when booking that the beds are very high. A short person would have trouble getting in. Check in was pleasant but I had to wait for person to empty breakfast garbage before she came to front desk for check out.

Went with my family. We had 3 rooms all together. Very clean, and breakfast was good. Pool was nice for the kiddos. Location was perfect. We were going to splash lagoon. Restaurants and gas stations nearby. Walmart was right down the road. We definitely had fun and will be back.

My daughter attends a local college so we started staying at this hotel during our visits, months prior to her enrolling in the fall of 2019. We loved the fact that it was a newer hotel. The customer service was great and the hotel was really nice. In just a short few months the hotel has started to decline. We recently stayed here during homecoming weekend. When we got on the elevator we noticed how dirty the elevator doors were. When we got off the elevator the carpet was disgusting. It didn't get better when we entered our room. The shower floor clearly had not been cleaned well, and there was food left in the refrigerator and it appeared to have been there for days. We were hopeful that we would be regular guests given that my daughter will be in the area for 4 years, but with this kind of upkeep, or the lack thereof, we will need to find another hotel that cares about the quality of its hotel. I'm giving this hotel a 3 instead of a 2 because I know it has great potential given that we have had many great stays in the past. Perhaps a management change will do the trick!

Checked in 10/5/2019 after driving 12 hours. Got to the room about 8pm. People in adjoining room were in and out constantly talking loud and allowing the door to slam. To be nice I waited till 10pm and asked them to quiet down and called the desk to ensure no convention was going on. Clerk said she would ask them to quiet down. About midnight noise continued and I asked them again. Noticed under aged kids in room with a bunch of beer. Again told them to quiet down. 430am noise started again. Called to the clerk and changed rooms. At the time I left the old room I noticed an older male in his 50s leaving the room with a suit case. Got to the new room but was 5am by this time. Showered and checked out, I didn't even get to have the breakfast. Expressed to clerk my observations and he apologized and said he was pretty sure the manager would comp part of the bill. Took my name and number. He said manager would be in by 8am and would ask her to call. Waited 2 days, no call so I called back. Different clerk answered the phone and I gave him the same observations when he asked to help after I asked for the manager. He said only the manager, Jill, could help. He took my name and number and said he would ask her to call. 2 days later, no call from the manager . The motel was nice but with customer service, or lack there of, I will NEVER stay at this motel again. This is so u usual for BW as I stay with the chain wherever I can. Very disappointed. I can only guess what was going on in the room with the kids and the clearly older adult.

We stayed for one night pre-paid through AAA. The hotel not only charged us again, but I have spent the last month trying to straighten out the mess. The receipt had a very "weird" address on it - not our home address - which I pointed out to staff as I was concerned about fraud. They finally agreed to credit our card for the stay, and made the credit to someone else's account. When we checked out we heard the clerk arguing with another visitor about their bill. I would only stay with extreme caution.

The experience from Check in to check out was great. The people working in the hotel were pleasant and greeting us as if we were friends. The Room was clean and well serviced during our stay. The location of the hotel provided easy access to good food and entertainment. I is very accessible from highway. This is my new destination when I am in Erie.

My husband, toddler and I spent one night here during a road trip. We booked the hotel the night before we would be staying. The hotel is in a convenient area, right off the interstate. There are lots of hotels and restaurants nearby. We were greeted by Lynda when we arrived. She was very friendly and let us know we were upgraded to a king suite from a standard king room. That was a nice way to start the trip! We stayed on the third floor and the elevators were quick to get us there. The room was fantastic for our needs. The bathroom was large and clean with three sets of towels. My only complaint about the bathroom is that there is not any shelf space in the shower. There is a tiny soap dish in the corner, that's it. There was not a tub, but that was not an issue for us, even with a toddler. They give you shampoo, conditioner, soap, and lotion. There was also a hair dryer in the bathroom, but I did not use it. The hall closet had ironing supplies and extra pillows and blankets. The king bed was comfortable and clean. There was a mini fridge and microwave. Our room also had a pull out couch, desk, table, and two televisions. We did not hear any noises throughout the night. There is a free breakfast each morning. It is your typical hotel complimentary breakfast. It was what we expected. We had a great experience and would definitely stay here again!

"Good at first but turned into just OK"

Everything seemed really nice when first checking in. Suite was spacious, had two TVs and more modern decor. Bathroom was clean and had a big walk in shower. However lifted up the toilet seat and it was stained, took a shower to freshen up and the shower door wouldn't close, annoyingly kept sliding back open multiples times while showering. Had to call front desk a few times before someone answered to sort out the Wi-Fi. And to top it off there are definitely sound proofing issues as someone above us came home at 11:30 and we could hear every footstep they took before they went to bed half an hour later. All in all it was decent, no deal breakers, but would probably try a different hotel next time in the same area.

We checked in on Monday, Aug 12 for 2 nights. On Tuesday morning, when we went for breakfast the breakfast room was busy but very dirty. Food was sparse and there was no fruit except a bruised apple. We were out of our room all day and when we returned our room had not been cleaned, beds were unmade, garbage had not been removed, towels were on the bathroom floor and none had been replaced. I went to the front desk and spoke with Skylar who offered me fresh towels and sheets and said I'd need to change them myself as housekeeping had left for the day. I asked to speak to a manager and was told she was not there . I asked to leave her a note so she could speak with me the following morning. When I went to checkout, I was told she was not there. I again asked that she contact me. She did not. So the following day I called Best Western customer service. They said they would reach out to the manager and return my call. That was 8 days ago. I called again today and was told that the manager had not yet responded and they contacted her again. I was told by Nadia in CS that the manager had 3-5 days to respond. They offered me rewards points with that I refused. The service and the customer service has been less that adequate and we will not be staying there again.

Will not be staying here again. The was a mix up with booking, but I'll admit that was not the hotel's fault because we booked 3rd party. We weren't happy, but made it work. We were impressed with how clean everything seemed and did our normal bed bug search before bed and didn't find any signs of them. Upon waking up in the morning, I found a bug crawling across the mattress...which we promptly killed. I'd never seen a bed bug before, so I thought it was a beetle at first, but it was full of blood. After checking out the squished remains...I'm pretty sure it was a bed bug. When I let the front desk know, they almost didn't seem to care. Manager wasn't there, so I was told she would call. 2 days later and we've heard nothing. We took precautions, but I will be absolutely pissed if they spread to my home.

Overall our stay was ok. Rooms were a little small but beds were comfy. Shower was very nice for us adults but there's no bathtub for our small children. Pool was very cold and pretty small for the kids. Brandy at front desk was rude and unprofessional in just about every way, but the other front desk workers were nice and helpful. Breakfast buffet was ok, eggs weren't so great but the Coffee and waffles were good. Hotel is only 2 years old so it's nicely updated, but had some issues with the elevator. One was broken when we got there and then the other broke upon check out Day. Had to lug our stuff down 3 flights of stairs, luckily front desk worker helped, I don't remember her name, nice lady. I'd stay again, it was fine.

Planned a stay here because it was newer only being a couple years old. Got to the motel and they said they over booked so moved us without any type of contact they said they had some ppl coming in and pretending to be employees and that's how it was overbooked.... are they serious? I explained that I thought that was a management problem not something the customer had to deal with! However we moved to the sister motel which I will also share photos of but absolutely horrible what appeared to be bugs in bed,along with what appeared to be urine on sheets,shower dirty, elevator dirty, television not working, this was awful!!!! And we are still trying to get a refund after the sister motel said they would refund us but best western is still arguing our refund when they couldn't even accommodate our reservation!

Quick summary: clean, comfortable, quiet room with a few extras. Friendly, professional service. Restaurants nearby. Easy access from I-80/90. We often stay in Erie on our trips to visit family on the East Coast. We have stayed in a number of hotels here, and this BW is a very good choice. We stayed in room #401, which has a very comfortable king bed. Nice assortment of comfortable pillows. The room also has a microwave, refrigerator, TV, coffee maker (no tea), iron/board, closet, 2 drawer chest for your stuff, ample desk to work. Roomy enough to be comfortable. No in-room safe. Good HVAC, but a bit loud. Friendly, professional service. Excellent housekeeping. Al felt fresh and clean. The bathroom has a large shower (i.e. no bathtub) with shampoo, conditioner, and lotion for toiletries. Good counter space to spread out your stuff. Breakfast is complimentary and good enough: good fruits, yogurts, make-your-own fresh waffles, bagels/toast/muffins, cereals, juices, eggs & sausage, etc. Coffee was okay, but Starbucks is a short drive if needed. Complimentary wifi worked reasonably well. Lots of outlets to plug in your devices. Easy access from the US 80/90 highway. There are a number restaurants and a mall in driving distance, but nothing walkable that we could see. It is not far from a water park. There is a nice indoor pool but we did not use it as we were just stopping for the night. Due diligence: The HVAC was a bit loud in this room. Summary: a very good stay. We'd be happy to return.

Half of the nights that we stayed, we didn't receive any service. When I went to the front desk, that person told me that maids just left for the day. I asked for towels and the next day, we didn't have service. I went to the front desk but there was a sign saying the front desk was out - I was told cleaning rooms. 2 days later, I sent my son to get towels because we didn't get service and the front desk was telling a coworker that some lady comes down complaining that their room isn't clean. We had horrible service and the management didn't seem to care because I when I was voicing my concern, she didn't speak up.

Easy check in and out; clean room. Indoor pool available tho the water was a bit cooler than I prefer. Nice make it yourself breakfast with fresh waffle option. Convenient location to local attractions. Step in shower, no bathtub, so ask if that's important to you in your travels. Room space was a little tight to get around with a walker, but it was manageable. They will accommodate if you need first floor availability for mobility impairments.

For a Plus hotel, there really wasn't anything that a normal hotel also didn't have. I normally stay at a neighboring facility when visiting Erie, but it was booked. Having been a BW Gold Card member in the past, I decided to give this place a try. I had a room with a king size bed. The room was pretty good size, so was the bathroom. There was no tub, only a shower, which for me- one person was fine. One thing lacking in the shower is shelf space. The tiny corner shelf is only big enough to hold the bar of soap they give you. Other than that, it was very nice. To get to the main entrance, you have to drive clockwise almost all the way around the building. If you try to go the other, shorter way, you can't make the turn under the canopy. I saw one of the other reviews complain about breakfast ending at 9AM. In my opinion, if you didn't get breakfast, you weren't missing anything! They had the usual fare that is served at most other places. I understand to keep food warm, it is usually in some kind of steamer, but to add the water directly in the bacon one morning, and the sausage the next morning left it soggy and tasteless. The orange juice tasted like Tang. And there was the ever-present frozen & thawed pastries, cereal, toast, waffles and coffee. On my second night I did have some noise problems from next to me and above me- I just cranked up the TV and went back to sleep. I mentioned this at check-out, just for informational purposes and the front desk did reduce my bill a little, which was a pleasant surprise. All-in-all, this is a nice facility and yes I would stay here again if the need arose.

We are on our honeymoon. Got in to hotel past midnight. Breakfast ends at 9am no exceptions. Why stop serving at 9am? Not all guests are business travelers and need to get on the road very early. Bed was extremely hard. Will skip this hotel in future. PLEASE Best Western, considering offering breakfast for an hour later!!

Shout out to the staff: Morgan at the front desk, Jane the Breakfast lady & Amanda the Manager all went above & beyond! What a great team! We were just passing through! Needed an inexpensive but nice, clean place to sleep for the night close to freeway! SCORE! Soft sheets & comfy bed! We slept great & had a great breakfast. We booked online & got a great last minute deal! I found on Thursday night a King room for $79 before tax. We checked in just before midnight. I don't think that's the normal rate but couldn't pass it up for such a great facility! Thanks again to Morgan, Jane & Amanda for a great stay!

"Great stay close to shopping and eating"

My husband and I recently stayed at this property for one night . The hotel is just off of the interstate very easy to find . This hotel was only built 2 years ago and still has that new carpet smell ! Very clean and nicely decorated . The rooms were spacious and very clean , very comfy beds and pillows . We had a king suite with a sitting area , 2 TVs a fridge and microwave ! The bathroom was very modern and huge! The staff were helpful and very friendly, thanks Vanessa for the nice room ! Breakfast bar had bagels,toast,eggs,sausage,waffles,cereal ,yogurt, juice milk just to name a few things ! Everything was hot and quickly topped up if it was getting low . The hotel is approx 5 minutes from a huge mall with great shopping might I add tax free ! I would stay here again and again !

We traveled to our granddaughter's college graduation in Erie, PA and chose Best Western because of the location and high reviews. Everything was top notch. The staff was courteous, beds extremely comfortable, and the rooms very clean. Our breakfast in the morning was very good with a nice selection of food. We would certainly recommend this hotel to anyone staying in that area.

This hotel was very clean and well kept up. My mother has been very ill and when we stay in Erie we stay at Best Western Plus. The staff is extremely pleasant and so very helpful. They take time out of their busy day to stop and talk with us and check if there was anything else they could do and if we were ok.. We were leaving extremely early one morning and Jane who heads up the breakfast area made us a plate of our favorite breakfast items and gave them to us the night before. She wanted to make sure we had something to eat before we left. The front desk staff was very helpful and also very nice. The rooms are kept immaculate and were always well attended too. I hope that if you get a chance to visit Erie, you stay at the Best western Plus on Oliver Street

Where do we begin? Upon arrival to the hotel to check in, Found out someone on staff charge the room to my card the day before we were scheduled to arrive causing check in issues and bank issues. Not to mention they never called to notify me of their known clerical error. Being a new hotel, you wouldn't think you would run into wiring issues in your room. Well, someone wired the switches and outlets screwy. Flip one switch to turn power on to room, flip a 2nd switch to turn on the entry light, flip a third switch to turn on electrical outlets, while making sure the first switch is switched to on. Confused yet? Heated indoor pool? Not even close. While the suite was nice and the bed comfortable, I didn't consider it a suite by other hotel standards. If that was a suite, hate to see what a non-suite is.

"One of my favorite Best Westerns"

This is a really nice Best Western. Nicely decorated lobby, great waffles during breakfast (as well as bacon and eggs), and nice, clean room. Price was very reasonable. I suggest you try Pineapple Eddie's for dinner. Very popular so call before going. The crab hush puppies are superb! Will stay again!!

We hadn't been to Erie in over 3 years so I was surprised that "our" BW was no longer behind Cracker Barrel. The new location and the newly-built hotel are great. All of our inter action with staff was fabulous and the room was clean, fresh smelling and bright. My only complaint is the new style of extra-high beds that the rooms are equipped with. They are very difficult for a somewhat mobility-challenged obese man to get on to. I mentioned this to the front desk upon checkout and was assured they did have lower beds in the handicap rooms - I'll have to specify that next time. Breakfast was excellent, a good selection with hot items (scrambled eggs & sausage patties, waffles) as well as cold and fruit. The breakfast area is incredibly well laid out - a coffee area, breakfast buffet area, large seating area all separated from each other with plenty of space to walk. This was the best breakfast layout we encountered on our entire trip. Our only complaint would be the front driveway area. The road/driveway does not appear to be finished and dead-ends just past the front entrance, making vehicle maneuvering difficult at check-in/out.

Amanda runs a great ship! Was driving cross-country for a move and stayed overnight at this location. Hadn't been to a best-western in years but had a great experience here. 1. Service is amazing all the way thru. The manager Amanda & the rest of her staff are courteous, helpful, and very accommodating. I had an early departure in the morning and they offered to put together a doggy bag for me if I left before the breakfast opened up. 2. Clean & Modern. Lobby, eating area, rooms, and the bathroom all have high end finishes. It smells like someone just did a deep clean. I've stayed at hotels that are pricier and was surprised to see the finishes (glass stand-in shower, electric fireplace, modern seating) and cleanliness (not a crumb on the ground) top-notch. 3. Good Value. Understanding you're in a commuting area, I was pleasantly surprised to see the pricing <$100. The breakfast was solid and had all the staples you'd look for (cereal, toast, eggs, juice, coffee). I travel quite a bit but will be on the look-out for best western options moving forward.

"No complaints here"

We had a great time!! We went to Pa to visit splash lagoon for my sons 8th birthday and this location was RIGHT ACROSS THE STREET! Everyone who worked there was super friendly and the breakfast was great! Only issue with my room was the bathroom door didn't lock but that's hardly an issue! I would ABSOLUTELY stay there again AND look forward to it!

"This hotel sucks"

This hotel is actual garbage DO NOT COME HERE if you want to get kicked out for just talking to with friends and aparently being “loud” this place is very unnecessarily rude for no reason and was about to kick us out for talking in the hall way. This is my genuine response to this hotel, no hate to this hotel but they are brutally threatening us to get us to get us kicked out

We apologize you feel this way. We simply asked if you could keep it down, and when we realized that wasn't going to happen we moved your group to the lobby/breakfast area. This is where the children had a pillow fight and really enjoyed themselves. I know when I spoke to my Auditor at the front desk at 11:20 pm Friday and Saturday evening, the guests in lobby/breakfast area were having a fantastic time, as I heard so much background noise, children playing and running, I could hardly hear her, so I had asked her to call me from her cell phone in the back room. We try our best to accommodate every guest we have as often as we can. We want everybody to come to our hotel! It is a fun, clean, safe environment no matter how old or young you are! We do not suck! We are the BEST Western!

We stayed here for a short visit to Erie. The location was right of I-90. The service at the front desk and breakfast area was great. Very friendly, helpful staff. Our room was very clean, and the bathroom was very well lit, which I appreciated. The shower had a great shower head, and was very well lit. I would stay here again.

This best western is the best one we stayed at yet! Very clean comfortable beds with lots of room. Noel at the front desk was awesome and even dried our beach towels for us. Breakfast very very good as well. We will be back

"Good place for a quick stop"

"Fabulous stay"

I booked this room using my points. When I checked in they had upgraded me to a suite which was a lovely surprise. The snack bag they provided me on check in was perfect (2 bottles of water, granola bar and a bag of smart food popcorn). My room was perfect, clean, quiet and comfortable. The staff was super friendly and helpful. I would 100% recommend this hotel and will stay here again when in the area. As I was travelling alone I felt 100% safe at this hotel.

"Good room, front desk needs work"

The clerk that checked us in the night we stopped - 12/3 - was extremely apathetic. Seemed to hate his life in Erie and was vocal about it. Not a warm and welcoming presence in the least bit. The king sized room we got was very clean, the bed was comfortable. The pillows are awful (but I say that in about 90% of rooms I stay in). Big walk in shower - enough for two people. Easy on the sliding door though, very noisy if you open it too fast! Basket in the coffee pot did not fit, so my husband had to kind of hold it in order to make coffee. The next morning when we went for breakfast, we met Amanda. She may be a manager - I'm unsure. But she spent some time talking with us about our stay, and the staff we encountered, and she made note of the coffee pot issue. She was very nice. Breakfast was great, waffles, eggs, sausage, cereals, yogurts..a good spread. We would stay here again if I could bring my own pillow and the desk clerk straightened out his attitude.

Everything about this location was pleasant. We arrived around 11pm in the icy snow tundra of Erie. Check in was quick. The lobby, halls, and room were clean. Breakfast was good. Beds were comfortable. Housekeeping and the Front Desk were accommodating to every request. We will be recommending to all our family and friends.

"So clean service excellent"

We were returning home and felt we needed to stop as the distance was too much for one day. I had booked ahead and the best part was I had enough points to make it a free night . A brand new build so it was totally non smoking..A real plus. The night manager GM greater us and surprised us with a nice little bag with 2 complimentary waters and a snack. They also had cookies at counter and complimentary tea coffee or lemon water nearby. Our room was nice and big as well as a very good size washroom. This one had a huge shower. Lots of water and hot. We went to pool area as I picked this for that reason. A nice place to relax after traveling. Only disappointment was no hot tub. The next morning we had a beautiful hot breakfast. We will be coming back here again. Great spot for lots of near by restaurants and shopping.

Nice clean hotel with friendly staff, offers quick breakfast for on the go shoppers drawn to the area. Beds are a bit on the hard side, you won't be sleeping in. Great access to restaurants and shopping, must say Boscov's is the best department store overall if you are into that.

"Clean but noisy"

Wonderful staff. Clean modern hotel. Good breakfast. BUT....try to get a room with no one beside you. The walls are thin and you can hear everything. People next door had tv on all night and we didnt get any sleep.

"Leisure trip"

We had a very nice stay at this hotel. It was clean, it had a breakfast, they were quick getting us checked in and out. There was not a vending machine or ice on every floor. You had to go to the front desk if you wanted a drink or snack. Overall very nice and affordable.

We travel a lot and love the Best Western Plus group of hotels. They are our first choice. This hotel always exceeds our expectations. We are a large family so we stay in the 2 queen suite. Great size room. The kids love the pool. Breakfast is fresh and great. Staff is beyond helpful.

Traveling on a restricted diet is tricky. I was so excited they had gluten free cereal and alternative milk. Soy and almond! The hotel is in a great location right off the highway! It was easy to get to and find. There is a gas station right in front of the property. Property was very clean. Staff was friendly. I would stay again if in the area.

This hotel would be a good buy except that the shower has no place to put your shampoo, soap, or anything else. I thought something was missing in my shower, but the hotel expects guests to use the shower floor. Never have had this expectation at any other hotel. I will not be back.

GM AMANDA and the whole team there are exceptional and the hotel is clean, fun and friendly! Kudos to BW PLUS! We had stayed there during ski season, and that was an adventure, but Erie is EVEN BETTER during the warm weather months. PLUS, with kids, the free breakfast is MUCH MORE than the traditional continental type. Very impressed. Thanks!

I always stay at here when I travel up to Erie. Staff always nice and friendly. Rooms always clean. There are instances that the staff can't help it simply because certain guests are pigs and trash the area. Beds are comfortable you'll get a good night rest.

Stayed here for a night at a good deal through priceline. Nice and new facility, however the building needs more sound proofing. I stayed on the 2nd floor, but you could hear almost every footstep coming from above, as well as hear everything outside. Nice lobby, with a great breakfast, but when building the facility, corners must have been cut with the sound proofing as you could hear so many noises from other rooms. Otherwise - great spot for a stay with a pool and workout area. Would stay here again as its just off the highway and there are a few places for groceries or supplies nearby.

My party and I were only in Erie for the one evening. Our trip was delayed and we didn't arrive at the hotel till about 1am. We called in advance to let the hotel know, and were pre-keyed. When we arrived, the front desk attendant had us all set in the system, gave us our keys and our cookies...and off we went. The room was very spacious, and well appointed. (King Bed with pull out couch) We had ordered food to go, which had cooled down in were happy to have the microwave in the room. We also had some cooler items which we were able to store overnight in the fridge. We didn't use the pool, but that would probably be the only area I would say lacked. It appeared quite small through the window. Certainly not something you could do laps in. If you're just looking to splash around with the would be fine. As a seasoned traveler, I would absolutely recommend this property. It was close to the highway and to many restaurants and services. I had an amazingly restful sleep.

Quick summary: my review is based on what I think of as a good value hotel with the basics-plus. Very clean and comfortable. Friendly, professional service. We stayed in the ground-floor room, RM 100. Two comfortable beds, large work desk, ergonomic chair, good plugs from electrics everywhere. Fridge and microwave. The AC worked well and quietly. Nice range of TV channels on a flat screen TV. Shower (no tub) is spacious. Nice toiletries - shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, lotion. Spotless housekeeping. The hotel feel s very new and fresh, with modern decor in the public rooms. Good free breakfast - chafing dish scrambled eggs and bacon, make-your-won waffle, bakery included muffins, English muffins, toast, and so-so bagels (I'm picky about bagels.) Juice and kind of weak coffee, but good enough. Pool and fitness room, but we were enroute for just a night, and didn't use them. FREE laundry machine available. Close to restaurants in the area. Easy on/off US I-90. To sum: an excellent stay and we'd look forward to it again. Alas, they were all booked on our return trip.

I was impressed upon entering the BW in Erie. I love the modern decor! I was quickly checked in by a gentleman at 315pm. I requested a high floor in my reservation and was given one. The room was very clean, the cleanest I have stayed in. Everything is new and looked never used. I slept comfortably. The housekeeping staff is very friendly. I did not have hot breakfast, the bacon looked unappetizing. Wish breakfast was longer than 9am during the week.

When we checked in I saw the coffee pots and said I sure need one of those, she went and got me one, never had that happen before, she certainly made us feel welcome. The breakfast eggs were awful but they did have a variety of food. The 1 elevator was broken 3 out of the 4 days we were there so it took forever to get to the other floors. I called to have more towels and said I was leaving if they could put them in the room that would be great they said ok, well I come back to my room and there were no towels I contacted the front desk and they oh yeah we were out of towels they were being washed how do you not have enough towels for your guest

"Looks Good On Outside, Services Not Up To Appearance"

This is a nicely decorated hotel. The room was clean. However, there was a noise problem of which the front desk was not aware. There were steady percussion sounds (drumming) that started at about 6 PM and went constantly for 2 hours. We thought that there was a guest who was practicing or there was someone in the next hotel on the drums. When I went to the front desk, the lady was not aware of the sounds, but said that someone else had come down and told her. She had no idea where the sound was coming from. I finally convinced her to step outside the front door where she witnessed the very loud sounds that appeared to be coming from an area (park?) behind the hotel. I don't know if she made a phone call or co-incidentally the drumming stopped. Had anyone been trying to sleep or if there was a guest with difficulty handling sounds, this would have been very discouraging for them. The bathroom was beautiful. However, there was only one bath towel. The breakfast room was lovely. Breakfast opened at 0600. When we got there at 6:30 AM, there were no eggs (a sign was posted: "No eggs." 15 minutes later, a small amount of eggs were put in the warming pan. The waffle machine was in constant use, probably because of the egg situation. I finally gave up and had oatmeal. The hotel can do better than this with breakfast. It was embarrassing as we are loyalty members of Best Western.

"Not worth the money"

We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights. I think this hotel has 1 luggage cart and the front desk girl had to leave the desk to go and find one on another floor. Our room was not made for 2 days. Our garbages were over flowing with baby diapers, no toilet paper, no new towels, no more soap. When I went down to front desk I had to wait a while since there is only one person working there. When I asked why our room is not being made the front desk guy said it is not his department and he will send someone up. Who at front desk says that? Also, this hotel is only a year old and the floors squeak in the hallways and the rooms. Just make sure you don't have to get up to the washroom at night because the squeaky floor will wake up everyone. Then I tried to fall asleep listening to the loud bong sound from the elevator door. I do not recommend this hotel, stay away.

We have stayed at this property several times. Our daughter attends GU, so we stay here when visiting her. It's the first place we try to reserve when we're in town. The hotel is new and the decor is very nice. We are not huge fans of the breakfast, but it's free and sufficient for those who want to eat before starting the day.

"Great place to stay"

I am writing this review to let everyone know what a nice hotel this place is. The beds are very comfortable price is reasonable and the breakfast they offer is a nice plus. The front desk staff from the day turn employee to the afternoon and midnight front desk staff are extremely pleasant and go out of their way to accommodate their guests. The only thing I felt was a bit odd was the cleaning staff stayed here for two consecutive nights they made up the bed took out garbage took away towels emptied waste baskets however the didn't restock anything had to get towels, soap ,wastebasket liners, toilet paper ice bucket luner and even cups to drink my coffee from all from the front desk staff who like I said we're all very friendly and make a guests stay an enjoyable one, you might want to tell your cleaning crews that if you take away things of necessity they may want to restock them again overall had a great stay would stay again if cleaning staff were better trained to replace items in rooms when they clean them even maybe run the sweeper in between guests departure .

This hotel was right off the exit, very new and clean. The shower was large with great pressure. The bed was comfortable and I'm pregnant with back issues. The breakfast was full and hot plus coffee was available 24/7. We went to visit Presque Isle and Waldameer and thought the commute to those was reasonable though maybe a tiny bit far if you wanted to be able to go to the hotel and get cleaned up for dinner back that direction. There were many restaurants close to the hotel though if you are fine with not heading back toward the beach for dinner.

"Shocked at room size."

We are rewards customers and have been for many years. We usually try to stay at BW or BW plus. The hotel overall was clean , neat, nicely decorated. Lobby was quite lovely and spacious. We did have to wait to check in as there were others there at the same time. ( corporate hire another person). Where my shock came it was how very small the room was. We had a king , and I felt very cramped. The bathroom was great with a walk in shower, no problems there. I guess BW is trying to squeeze one more room in, when they build new. This is kinda sad me cause I liked BW , if this is the way it's going to be, time for me to start shopping .

"Other than small breakfast area the rest was very good indeed"

Pros: Apparently this hotel was built early last year (2017) and it does a good job of retaining its physical newness. This was our first opportunity to explore this facility. The check-in and check-out were quick and smooth. The hallways and furniture looked newish [sic] and there were no odd smells detected. Our room had a relatively large shower (2 could use it at the same time) and a heavy glass door that worked on the barn-door principle. The overall room was neat and clean and it contained a great mattress and bedding. The internet was reasonably responsive and we greatly appreciated that fact. There were more than adequate electrical outlets in the room and plenty of clean towels/wash cloths. Neither: We did not use the pool or fitness room. Cons: The breakfast room was woefully inadequate relative to the number of tables and chairs. It's probably hard to guess how many people were registered to this facility on this night but looking at the parking lot at night, we guess that it was about half-full. I got some things to drink and went to our room. My wife was picking up some additional things (to bring back to the room) and it took her long than I expected. Upon arriving back at the room she said that the lay-out/flow of the equipment and breakfast items were not placed in logical customer-flow patterns so it took longer than should have been required. My wife mentioned the flow problem as we checked out. Overall: Except for a few area identified above, we enjoyed our stay.

My expectations were low staying at a Best Western but boy were we pleasantly surprised. Beautiful Queen Suite room. Clean. Breakfast was grest with all kinds of cereal, eggs, sausage, waffles, oatmeal, juices, yogurt. They had a nice pool. The previous bad review someone gave must have had a grudge or something because we found it to be great and would highly recommend. Big shower. Fridge, 2 TVs. For $150, free big breakfast...Im in!

"Stay somewhere else!!"

My husband slipped on the top step of their pool while holding my 1 year old. My 1yo went face down in the pool and the hotel did nothing. Several other complaints had been made prior to his fall and nothing had been done!! Breakfast was gross, had to wait for a table, the room had not been vacuumed- my 1yo picked up a fingernail off the floor, so gross!!! Beer cans in the trash outside and women's underwear on the floor in the hall to the lobby. Pay more and stay somewhere else!!!

Joyce was amazing with setting up my room and I hope she sees this, she made sure I got the best experience and nailed it, the staff were extremely friendly and the complimentary breakfast was delicious. "Nice property before or leaving Buffalo area."

The rooms and suites are very nicely decorated and modern. As a new facility. The large flat panel TV had no remote but they said they would add one as I didn't need it that night. The breakfast has several hot items and cereal. I have stayed at several BW's and the breakfast is good but the same, to include scrambled eggs and sausage and waffles or pancakes. The table lamps have plenty of electrical plug ins, but no USB connection. This site for me was an interstate stop-over and not an area I would spend much time. It is just outside the toll road section going into NY.

Beautiful new hotel with very comfortable beds and pillows. Feel like your sleeping on a marshmallow. Only thing do not get the room across from the third floor ice machine. Other then that the hotel was perfect! There is a really nice gym and indoor pool. Free parking for hotel guests. Good variety for breakfast hot and cold food. Coffee available for free all day and night. Staff is very friendly and helpful and seem to go out of their way to make your stay better. Great location near shopping and restaurants.

Let's see, only one desk agent available meant 15-20 minute wait to check in. Received keys to a room that was occupied, carpets in hallways were dirty, no towels available in pool area, rooms not too much bigger than the king bed and a desk... when we came down to eat, there was another 15-minute line of guests waiting to check in or deal with problems with the still-only-one desk agent. We are Best Western Rewards customers but will look to a different chain if we get another experience like this.

Huge rooms! Clean, new, modern. Easy highway access. Lots of food nearby. Breakfast was great! Well-stocked, clean area, lots of options. We got the king suite and it was great for our family. Convenient parking. Close to all the fun Erie stuff - Presque Isle, Waldameer, Erie Zoo, etc. Manager was on top of things. Nice indoor pool. Needed towels for the pool and she came right away. Bathrooms, rooms, pool area, breakfast area - all nice and clean. Would definitely stay there again!

"Does anyone work here?"

We traveled to this hotel with a team of 10u softball players for a weekend of softball. Upon arriving, our bathroom was dirty, there was hair all over in the shower, the towels were dirty and the fridge was leaking water. We informed the front desk and the manager kindly apologized and move us to a clean room. That was the best part of this stay. The breakfast is terrible, they were out of several items less than 1 hour into the time frame. They completely ran out of coffee creamer both mornings. Each time the girls were in the pool there were no clean towels. The front desk was pretty good about remedying the situation- only after you told them, every single time. The best part of this hotel stay was the 4am fire alarm! We evacuated the building and were waiting to hear what was going on, there was no employee in sight. All of these kids are outside at 4am standing in this parking lot and we had no idea what was happening. The fire alarm continued to sound off for approximately 20 minutes. We ended up being outside for about 35-40 minutes total with no explanation. These girls had games bright and early in the morning and were now left to try to fall back asleep at almost 5am after the scary fire alarm episode. The next morning at check out, we asked the hotel if they were accommodating anyone for the trouble, their answer was NO. No apology, no further information on the cause of the alarm or the length of time we spent outside not having a clue what was happening. In 2018 when a fire alarm goes off in a hotel, school, or other large public building, it is scary... and not because it could be a fire. I am glad it was nothing worse...

This place is just fine for all the essential needs, price is just a little high for what you get and where you are. I would also say that the majority of ice machines where out of order! Staff was friendly

New hotel, only stayed here for an overnight, but it was very nice. None of the soda machines were working in the hotel, but they do have a small area in the lobby to buy juice and bottled water etc. and the Manager even offered to go to the store and get me a soda!! Close to all of the Peach Street shopping, dining, etc. Great Service, nice hotel!

This is my second time here in two weeks! During my first stay Philip was able to make a special accommodation given a change in my travel plans. Very personable and customer first approach. During my second stay, Philip was there to check me in again quicklly and made some really nice recommendations on things to do locally. This is where I plan to stay whenever I have business in the area or want a quick get away for tax free shopping!

First of all, kudos to Amanda at the front desk! She's warm, friendly and remembers previous guests. When you meet her, engage her in conversation about ice skating — she's a super pro! Rooms are incredibly clean, polished and sleep-worthy: I've always struggled to get comfy in a motel but this place has the comfiest mattresses and every amenity you could possibly want. Just passing thru from Chicago to The Berkshires and vice versa but how cool to know I could find a great place to sleep with a great hot breakfast in great proximity to I-90!!! Yeah, there'll be negative reviews but some folks are simply predisposed to seek the one wrong thing that validates their negativity. If Erie is your destination or simply your flyby, this place is worth your while.

Nice and clean. Pleasant staff. Gladly helped with a main floor room for my elderly mother. Breakfast can't be beat. Even the coffee was good. Well worth the price for a night or two if in Erie for shopping or business. Plenty of parking too.

"Nice Hotel - Understaffed"

Nice new(ish) hotel. Maybe a year old. Great staff that's very willing to help . Clean and well kept appearance. Good location for interstate and Splash Lagoon. Very short drive or a quick walk to Splash Lagoon. Plenty of shopping/restaurants within a mile. Nice rooms but on the small side. Nice bathrooms. Good temperature control however due to the smallness of the room we were in one bed was very close to the air conditioner. Too close and the person sleeping at that spot was cold. The main entrance drive for the lobby is bizarre. It's actually very annoying how it's set up. The entrance road is a narrow dead end road. You have to do a 3-point turn to get out. The carport in front of the lobby is very narrow for a hotel. It can only handle a single lane of traffic and it's very short. The handicapped parking is hidden in the back of the hotel. There are 2 elevators next to each other but they are setup with each one having its own controls. It's really dumb. For quickest service you need to press the button on each elevator. Otherwise you might pick the wrong one and just stand there waiting and in the mean time the other elevator is not even being used. Get to breakfast early because there is a smaller crowd. If you wait too long they will be constantly running out of food and the trash will be overflowing. There was only one person working the breakfast during our stay and they did their best but could not come close to meeting the demand of the guests during the busier times. There was also only one person working over night in the entire hotel. So as my title states it was a nice hotel but very understaffed.

Never cleaned the room. Rude staff. Under staffed. Had to change my own towels in the pool. Asked many times for towels we were given 3 for 8 people. They never cleaned the bathroom or restocked it.

We checked in on a Saturday night. A busy place, but staff was welcoming. We were on the 4th floor on the back of the building. It was quiet! Comfy bed, nice shower. Nice touch that the TV turns on to the weather channel. I understand the concerns about the noise for rooms near the elevators. The bong is quite loud announcing the arrival of the elevator. And can something be placed on the door jams to buffer the noise as they slam when people are not courteous enough to quietly close their doors? Leia, the night front desk person, was very accommodating and kind.

Checked in at 2pm. Was given room 211 which was literately 4 feet from one of the 2 elevator doors. Also the room overlooked the front entrance which was covered. During my stay all I heard were people talking while waiting for the elevator and car doors slamming and people making noise outside coming and going into the front entrance. Don't know why but the nmiddle elevator was turned off the whole time. Only one of the 2 elevators were working so if 3 or more people were waiting for the elevator they were pretty much standing in front of the door to my room. If i walked out id have to ask them to excuse me. I also saw that the space for the rooms mini frig was empty and they state rooms have frigs and microwaves. I called down to the front desk when I got back at night from my appointment. The front desk clerk immediately states YES YOUR ROOM DOESNT HAVE A FRIG. The hotel is a year old, don't know how it could have got broken already or why they cant go out and buy a new one. I complained about the noise constantly in front of my door and outside.below my 2nd story window. I was told the hotel is full and I couldn't change rooms. Was told the front desk manager would be informed but when I checked out in the morning nothing was said. I feel I should have been asked when checking in if it was alright that my room was minus the frig and THE PRICE QUOTED SHOULD HAVE BEEN REFLECTED FOR SUCH A POOR ROOM. . Definitely felt ripped off that this room is probably known as the worst in the hotel yet they gave it to me at 2pm . If I was the last person checking in at midnight id have no complaint as it would be my fault arriving so late. Just poor customer service.....too many other choices to stay in Erie than come here again and deal with their noise issues.

This hotel was literally right across the street from Splash Lagoon which is why went went to Erie. We will definitely stay here again with we come back to Splash Lagoon. It was a great mini-vacay.

This is a superb hotel! Great service. Except the one night guy who was reluctant to help us when we couldn't get online since the hotel was fully booked. Very odd issue for a hotel btw. The breakfast was great with the waffles you get to make yourself! The front desk staff was nice amd friendly. The hotel looked amazing. I guess all the renos really add value to this property. The room was decent sized and the washroom was fairly big. Yay! The room comes with a microwave and fridge which is always nice. The location is stellar. Food and shopping within a 5 minute drive. We'll be back for sure!

"Front desk and managers need trained"

Hotel is clean and very nice. The rooms are small but we are not in them much anyways. This was our second time staying at this hotel. They really need to train to front desk and management staff better. Both times we used our free vouchers and both times they still charged us for 2 rooms and this time for a day we didn't even stay. They charged our card almost 500.00!! It went to an eleven cent credit to the 500. pending then goes to a charge. It has been 3 days and 4 phone calls and is still a charge. They have no clue how to do their job. Last stay it took them almost 2 weeks to fix it. When we arrived to check in the front desk clerk was sitting behind the counter with her feet propped up on her cell phone and my husband had to get her! Hotel very nice but workers need trained better.

Room was very small, reminds me of Microtel, internet kept disconnecting, and tv channel selection was horrible. Pool and fitness center were great. Parking lot is confusing, you have to park in the rear and there is no sidewalk to front entrance.

We had plans to travel, visit and stay in Erie. I'm glad we chose the Best Western. The building is virtually new and we expected it to look and feel good, we weren't surprised. The modern design and furnishings were warm and comfortable. The local artwork on the walls in all areas were nice also. The hotel staff were also very professional and upbeat, even during busy check in times. We will be back when in the area.

"Nice Surprise"

This hotel is almost brand new. I really liked the modern design of the lobby and the guest rooms. The room was pristine, and the washroom was larger than most in hotel rooms. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. It was a last minute decision to stay overnight as I was driving and was planning to go further than Erie, but glad I stopped and stayed here. Great place to stay!

"Nice place for a stopover"

Just stayed overnight as it was a nice midpoint of our trip. Room and clean, comfortable, and quiet. Cookies in the lobby was a nice touch. Breakfast, while free, left a lot to be desired. Sausage links were fairly good. Eggs were not. Waffle maker kept tripping the breaker and not working. Understaffed as the lady working the desk also had to take care of the breakfast area. She was pleasant though.

"New Property, Excellent quality."

We were welcomed to the hotel by staff, room was upgraded at no cost and room was excellent. Good sleep, no noise, and wonderful breakfast. Parking lot was cleaned of snow even though they had the largest snow fall ever. This is one of the better hotel rooms we have had.

Staff was awesome and very accommodating. Food throughout the night as well as breakfast which was really nice since I didn't arrive until 1am. The room was large, clean and very nice. Quiet as well for a great night of needed sleep

This was our second stay at this hotel. Our first stay was not so good. This stay will cause me to come back to them again! Our room was upgraded to a suite (we are Platinum members of the loyalty program). The room was large, clean, and comfortable. The front desk staff was very accommodating. The breakfast area was clean and the freshly made waffles were delicious. I would recommend this hotel.

This hotel is newer. It's clean, it's safe and the staff is courteous, professional, and informative. The beds are comfortable and the check in, check out process is fast and easy. This is our new and favorite hotel to stay in, in Erie. I used to stay at the Hilton Garden more, this is my go to hotel now. I highly recommend it, you won't be disappointed.

Glad that there is finally a Best Western in Erie! The hotel is clean and seems really new. It has a friendly staff and wonderful heated indoor pool! Alos, the location is very convenient, as it's near all of the restaurants and stores on Peach Street.

"Fabulous New Hotel"

This is an absolutely fabulous hotel! It is very new and very well appointed. I would recommend it to anyone wanting to shop Erie Peach St or Millcreek Mall of Grove City outlets. It is now my go to hotel for this area. It is off the beaten track and quite quiet with easy access off of Peach St. Highly recommended!

"Not impressed"

I was not impressed with service at Best Western at all. Room met standards and was typical hotel room. Did need to ask for extra towels though reservation specified four guests, only enough for two. Shower door looked poorly cleaned. Big concern was no hot water both mornings. Brought to attention after first morning to front desk staff, who said hotel was busy will have maintenance check boiler. After second morning complained at check out and was told that hotel full so busy time and should consider showering at non peak hours. Also no coffee both mornings at breakfast. Mentioned to breakfast staff, who rolled eyes and said was making it. Second morning most breakfast items missing, including bagels, coffee, yogurt and jam. When asked for items told hotel full and out eat something else. Neither concern was met with apologies or recommendation on what can do to improve. Though visit Erie at least twice per year, I will not chose to stay at this hotel again.

"Peach Street Adventure"

If you're looking to do some Peach St. Shopping than this location in strategically placed!! The rooms are beautiful, the bed was very comfortable and the pillows had my friend wanting to buy them! I just wished the room was clean...there was dirt and debris in both the main room and in the bathroom behind the door and around the toilet. This is why the rating is only 3! But, I'm willing to give the location another chance to see if the cleanliness was an isolated experience...stay tuned for my return trip!!

"Nice New Motel"

Everything great except the people above us allowed their child to run and jump continuously. Had to call twice to front desk to ask them to stop once at 5 pm and once at 1030 pm. Noise stopped as soon as the desk clerked called them

"Modern but NOT Clean"

We switched rooms 3 times due to lack of cleanliness. Room 1 did not appear to have been swept/vacuumed. There were black lint balls and presumably pubic hair in the bed linin. The night stand/lamp areas were dusty and had hair on them. The shower glass was cloudy and streaked. The bathroom mirror had toothpaste spattered. Room 2 had two moths fluttering around the room. This room also did not appear to have been swept/vacuumed and the mirror was also grubby. We settled with room 3 because we were tired of switching and surrendered to the conditions due to frustration. This room also had same lack of vacuuming/sweeping as well as blue soap residue on the shower wall and lack of shower glass cleaning. The bed linin was acceptable. While stepping out for the day on Saturday, the housekeeping person outside our room offered to service our room when we were exiting. We asked for a fresh set of towels and washcloths, she voiced she would do so. When we returned that evening, nothing was cleaned, straightened up, nor were fresh towels or washcloths provided. Like we were forgot about. Lastly, the included breakfast was nice but the staff refilling the food could have been more prompt and friendly. The young girl working here was observed to be a little rude when she was asked by another guest if there was more bacon coming out saying; I'm getting it (with an attitude). Kinder communication when out of something saying something like 'more of X will be right out mama' would have been a more welcoming response. Front desk staff was nice and made attempts at accommodating us and extended apologies.

"Nice Hotel"

This was just an overnight stay for us, so we didn't spend much time here. The staff we dealt with were friendly and helpful, and the room was very good. We had easy access to our first floor room and the room itself was very clean. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone going to this area.

"Erie - Presque Isle"

Best Western was very new and beautifully decorated. Easy on and off to expressway. Close to the Casino as well as Presque Isle. The only negative was the cleaning staff could have done a better job. Would definitely recommend this Best Western.

"Clean and Great Location"

Went for our sons hockey games and hotel was clean and was close to highway. We were a little late for the breakfast, but were able to still help ourselves to what was there (it was still warm) and the staff even turned the juice machine back on for us after it closed and got us some hot water for our tea.

"beautiful hotel"

This is a Beautiful hotel, pricing is good and it is located by everything and it is right off the freeway. We got a great nights sleep and the pillows were comfy as well. This hotel is brand new and still has the brand new smell which is also a plus in my book.

read many reviews of how poor the housekeeping was but I just thought people were being picky until i found out first hand how bad. The floor was not swept, alot of hair in the bed, hair in the shower, towels thrown on the shelf. Its like the housekeeper just came in and made the bed which by the sounds of all the reviews that is done alot. will not stay here again.....

I have been visiting Erie for many years and have stayed at many different hotels in the city. This is one of my favourites. Very clean and modern and the staff were very friendly. Breakfast was included which was good. The staff were attentive at keeping the items filled up on Saturday but on a busy Sunday morning they quickly ran out of items and no one seen to attend to it. All in all a good stay and I would definitely return.

"Adequate, but disappointed "

Initial impression is a new, nicely appointed, economical, clean hotel. However, after a two-night stay, a series of not-so-insignificant annoyances will prevent us from selecting to stay at this location for future visits to Splash Lagoon. Room was fine, but bathroom plug did not work, there was no kleenex in the dispenser, nor anywhere in the room for that matter, and no paper/pad to be found. The shower 's small shelf had not been cleaned (soap remnants and hairs left behind to greet us) which caused us to question if the shower had been cleaned at all. Breakfast staff was abissmal-everything (napkins, milk, syrup, etc.) was out of stock and the front desk staff had to deal with multiple requests/complaints from guests in addition to their own tasks. Upon checkout this morning, I provided a list of the issues that management/ housekeeping/maintenance should address in the room we had just left. The man at the front desk, who was quick to mention that he was only covering at this location, he managed another hotel and was not the manager of this location, did not apologize, nor thank me. Poor customer service all around. One exception - the man working at the front desk on Friday, Oct. 13 when we checked in about 5pm - was great! Promote this man because he gave an excellent first impression, knew what he was talking about, and was very personable. If you are looking for an economical option, this is adequate but I can't recommend staying here if there are other available options. Oh, for fans of ice, they only have ice machines on the 1st and 3rd floors. This is a real pet peeve of mine, but looking at a vacant space right across from us, where an ice machine used to be, every time we opened our room door was just. plain. annoying.

We left this hotel on a holiday and at breakfast the desk clerk was also taking care of the breakfast buffet and she was NOT happy...understandable!! She accidentally spilled milk on floor and didn't clean it up as probably needed to return to front desk duty. Help arrived about 8:45 but don't know if he was on staff...he walked through the spilled milk and coffee but did mop it up before leaving through a door behind the front desk. In addition, bathroom floor dirty and found numerous long black hairs in shower stall and floor - ugh.

We recently stayed at this hotel expecting it to be nice as it is fairly new and we typically have good experiences with best western. The front desk worker was friendly but obviously not fully trained as she had some difficulty checking us in and was unable to perform all necessary functions (apply our rewards points) as she wasn't yet trained on this. On our walk to the elevator, there was a large bag of trash sitting in the hallway. Upon arrival to our room, we found the room to be obviously occupied by another group as the tv was on and the room torn apart. We made our way down to the desk again and received a new room. This room was fine, clean, and comfortable. The breakfast selection was pretty minimal compared to other best westerns. The new front desk staff also had difficulties applying our gift card which took nearly 15 minutes to complete this process. Also, that same bag of trash was still located in the hallway by the elevators. Overall, this property has great potential but obviously needs some systems and training in place to allow it to function up to par.

This is a new property that opened February 2017. Of course everything is in working order and looks great. The staff was friendly, professional, and helpful, and genuinely appreciative of the business. The only issue is that there is no sign to tell you where it is, so follow your electronic map faithfully. If you don't know the address, you'll likely drive by, and even if you do, the turn is immediately after exiting I-90, so be sharp. Not Best Western's fault, but be aware.

"Okay place"

There is limited parking area when you drive up to the lobby entrance. There is adequate parking behind and on the sides of the building after check in. You use the entry doors at each end of the building but the elevators are in the center. It's as if the building was built facing the wrong direction on the property. Staff was very nice & efficient. We did see a large bag of trash trash on the floor between the lobby and the elevator. Although the bag was gone in the morning, it was replaced by liquids and stains with a "Wet Floor" sign. Lack of staff, time or pride? Our king bed room was very clean but also very small. There was no chair or space for another chair other than the one at the desk. The bed was comfortable which was good because if you weren't at the desk this was the only space available. The bathroom and shower were good. It was a walk in shower with a sliding glass door, plenty of hot water. Breakfast fare was standard but not great. At 8:00 am one of the three cereal dispensers was empty, the eggs were only warm, the bacon was under cooked and the coffee had floaters in it. If you only need a clean place with a comfortable bed, this place is okay.

My husband and I stayed at this new hotel on our way to Michigan. The hotel is very convenient to I-80/I-90, as well as restaurants and shopping. However, upon arrival we were given the wrong room number which required a return to the desk. After receiving what was to be our correct room number, we walked into a room that had towels all over the floor, bed unmade and clothes which remained on a desk. This was not an early am checkin! After calling the desk to advise something was radically wrong, we were asked to once again return to the desk. Thomas advised they were having difficulties with housekeeping and they would upgrade us, which they did to a first floor suite room. Unfortunately, the bathroom toilet was soiled but the bed appeared clean. At this point, we were exhausted from traveling and did. Or call the desk again. Nice hotel ... needs management change!

First appearances show a nicely decorated, modern, comfy and spacious room. However, sheets had not been changed (bed was made up over used sheets and pillow cases), the bathroom floor hadn't even been swept so obviously not mopped, the beautiful shower enclosure hadn't been cleaned, (floor of enclosure dirty, doors streaked with soap scum), bathroom mirror streaked. None of the floors (4 floors in this facility) had functioning pop machines, and even the lobby didn't have Coke or Pepsi. The lobby coffee machine was also not working. The desks copier wasn't working, so we couldn't get a print out of our stay & payment. We had paid for 2 rooms, and when our kids went to their room, it hadn't even been touched. The desk clerk had to go room to room to find one that had been cleaned (even though the maid had marked them as being serviced) If the owners of this place don't start taking an 'on hands' part in the running of this facility, it is going to continue to get bad reviews and lose business.

We stayed two nights and the hotel is new, price for a room was reasonable and the rooms and hotel overall was clean. The staff however are short handed and could use some extra help. However even though things were hectic at times, they always were courteous and helpful. We would stay there again.

It is a very good location, close to downtown and the lake. The hotel was very new when we stayed there. It was nicely furnished and decorated. The rooms were very quiet and we did not hear anyone in the rooms around us. The breakfast was good and the shower is very nice.

"Newish property, but not trouble free..."

While checking out this newish property with a drive-by, I observed they have an electric vehicle charger. As I was driving an electric vehicle, I decided this would be a convenenient place to stay. Using the Best Western mobile website, I booked a suite with two queen beds (all suites at this property are "studio" suites, that is, a single oversize room). Upon arrival, I was informed that they did not have a queen suite available. Instead, I was offered a king suite, at a slightly reduced cost. The young lady that checked us in was very apologetic and anxious to make us happy. [I suspect that this property, as a cost saving measure, does not perform housekeeping on all used rooms on a daily basis. Business was very slow when we were there, and I am guessing they have housekeeping as needed. Consequently, the suite type I reserved had not been cleaned (I'm guessing), but the Best Western reservation computer showed they were available since the prior guests had checked out.] Unique among the "studio" suites I have stayed in, this suite had two large screen televisions (one in the sitting area and one facing the bed). The generic "clean remote" for the televisions had a non-functional button for closed captioning, something which my wife and I need. I was able to borrow a branded remote from the front desk, but she had to take batteries from the remote that operates the lobby and breakfast area televisons. The branded remote easily activated the CC. As many recently constructed hotels are doing, the suite offered a shower only, no tub. (The property does have a few rooms with tubs.) The shower must have been designed by someone who never showers! There is no place to set your soap, shampoo and conditioner when it is not in your hand. It is three straight walls and a sliding glass door. Females have no place to set their feet when trying to shave their legs (like a low step or seat). One other new "feature" many new hotels are offering, sliding bathroom doors, was NOT present at this property. Thank YOU! The room's air conditioner is controlled by a wall mounted thermostat which we found to be very responsive. The room had a large refrigerator (no freezer) and a microwave. The lobby area has a coffee maker that brews coffee instantly and offers both regular blend, decaf and hot water. Always available. They use the new "touch" key cards, which functioned very well. The "do not disturb" sign actually stays on the door when placed there by guests. My primary motivation for selecting this property - the electric vehicle charger. Guess what, it does NOT work! A sign at the charger refers users to the "front desk" if assistance is needed. The two front desk persons I talked with had absolutely zero knowledge about this charger. This is a fairly new property. It was clean in all public areas and our room was very clean. There is plenty of convenient free parking and adequate handicap parking. Included breakfast buffet was adequate, although they only had one unlabled pitcher of milk out.

Great 2 day stay, absolutely gorgeous hotel, wonderful decorating, cozy beds, clean room. Love the walk in shower, no more tubs!! Beautiful bathroom. Rooms a 'tad' on small side but for us we didn't care b/c we were there just to sleep. I can't comment on food per se, we only went for coffee but from what we saw it's standard hotel food, lots of carbs, boiled eggs and yogurt, not our thing. I would stay here in a heartbeat again when back in Erie.

Stayed for two nights. Good location right off Interstate 90. Lot's of restaurants a short drive away. Not the largest of parking lot but we had no issue finding a spot to park during our stay. Breakfast was not really that good with the watery eggs but it is included in the stay so can't complain too much. Also house keeping was a bit lax since they did not remove our used towels or empty the waste containers. I would stay here again.

We were on the last night of a two week tour of the Northeast. Erie, PA was the last night of our trip. Check in was ok, but Ashely needed backup help. Our first room had not been cleaned. Second room reeked of cigar smoke. Nonsmoking hotel??? Third room was fine. Breakfast was a mess from the start. Not enough food, no attendant to tidy up or refill empty dishes, not enough seating. This BW has been open for less than six months. What a disappointment. There are two other hotels on either side who will certainly be our choice on our next trip. On a very positive note, ASHLEY, who was running the entire hotel, was awesome!!! She needs a promotion!

Stayed for 2 nights, staff were friendly but many didn't seem to know their jobs. Computer seemed to stump most of them. Newer building so everything was like new. If you short, the beds are a tad difficult as they are high. Seniors might have a problem. Nice breakfast buffet. The pool while on the small size was nice, same with exercise room.

My wife and I always try to stay at 3 diamond hotels or better. As new as this facility is, it proved to be the worst of the worst. Major problems are caused by understaffing and very poor construction. My list of many complains was transmitted to Best Western but their local management didn't even call me back. Breakfast included no coffee, stale food and few tables. Room had too many problems to enumerate including the 3 entrance light switches that do nothing except the middle switch turned on the neon light for the right hand switch! The dead bolt did not line up with the striker plate rendering it useless; there was also no chain lock to stop intruders. The elevator was inoperative and the signs stating so were on torn pieces of paper on some floors. Check in and check out were awful because of only one grossly inexperienced person, grossly overworked (e.g. With the morning person required to service breakfast and the front desk)

Brand new hotel with great prices. Interior was nicely decorated. Indoor pool. 24hr fitness center. Very helpful staff during my stay as I had some noise issues with guests next to me. Hope they build more BW Plus soon.

Will never stay here again. The only perk was that it was clean. It is extremely small and LOUD! There is absolutely no peace there. We could hear everything single thing in the hall, the rooms next to us and above us. The biggest problem was we booked through a third party, they charged our card and when I went to check in they asked for my card just to have on file, I was told they would only charge$1. I checked my card and they recharged it! So glad that I just paid over$600 for 2 nights at a junk hotel. I called and they told me this is standard and my card would be reimbursed in a week. Thank God I didn't need to pay bills with that money. I was told by all 3 desk attendants that my card would only be charged$1.

Arrived several hours after check in and were told they didn't have a room, they found us one within about 20 minutes. Upon entering our room and looking it over, we immediately noticed the bathroom was not cleaned, there was hair all over in the shower, hair all over the bathroom floor and used towels under the sink. We then found a sticky substance all over the floor of the walkway and it appeared to have not been mopped. We asked the desk to have someone come clean the bathroom and mop the floor, which they said they would do while we were out. When we arrived back to our room the sticky area was still there as well as the hair in the shower. The rooms are nice, the hotel itself is new. I would stay there again, but would really look the room over before getting settled. Staff told us the turnover rate is terrible, the housekeeping seems to be severely under staffed or poorly managed. The microwave actually had food or liquid crusted to the plate and had obviously not been wiped out.

This hotel is the most expensive Best Western my husband and I have stayed at this year (out of 7 or 8). It is new and the lobby is very clean and modern looking. It is configured like a modern hotel with room doors on interior hallways, always a plus. On the downside, there were no fresh baked cookies available on arrival, something we have come to expect at Best Westerns, although, to be fair, one of the other Best Westerns we stayed at this year didn't have them either. It also didn't have any other little extras that we have seen at one or two of the other Best Westerns (complimentary bottled water in the rooms or little snack bags for Best Western rewards customers.) Since it was the most expensive one we have stayed at, the lack of little extras was that much more disappointing. It did have scrambled eggs and breakfast meat on the breakfast buffet, another thing we have come to expect from Best Westerns, and we were very happy to see that. The rooms, while new and clean, were small and somewhat cramped. All in all, I would say that this hotel was adequate, but nothing special, at least not as compared to many other Best Westerns.

Amy at the front desk was very knowlegable about every area of the hotel Room waa a bit small but we adapted and politely compromised. The maid had left extra towels before we got into the room. Therefore I didn't have to looking for to bath towels during an awkward time. This is a very clean place with very pleasant people working her. AMY AT the from desk was extremely helpful and seems to know the ins and a outs. Of the whole hotel , which leads to quick and efficient solution. I would definitely srmts her again!

Unacceptable conditions in the kitchen food preparation and in the food service area where there was broken waffle mix dispenser, Cold Cereal laying all over the area, lack of milk and coffee, and no hot food such as eggs or bacon which had ran out. There was no effort made to cleat this mess cleaned up unless everyone was able to see what a pig pen it was. The lead front desk person, Jensen was not working that shift that day otherwise I am quite sure it would have been cleaned up by her.

This was a bad choice from start to finish, we arrived a little early at 1pm (check in is 3pm) I asked if our room was available? since I pre booked and pre paid for two nights, and the girl at the front desk made it clear that check in was at 3pm...NO EXEPTIONS!!! House keeping was still being done?? really? ok whatever..So when we came back at 3pm along with a dozen other folks, of course it took 45 minutes to check in, and the two women working at the desk looked beyond stresses, and the girl who told us to come back at 3pm was ending her shift at that time, hmmm how convenient for her? We finally got to our room and were not thrilled about being right beside the elevator which dings loudly every time someone gets on and off, at this point we did not want to go back down and deal with the staff again, or we would have changed our room. The room itself was not very clean, stains on the carpet made me feel that this hotel was much older than it was. We took advantage of the breakfast one morning and that was one morning to many! What a disaster, cereal everywhere, no body came to maintain the breakfast area for the 45 min we were there, there was no milk or cream most of everything was gone or in disgusting state. Best part of my stay here was leaving, chose another hotel Erie has many.

I was prepared to give this hotel the benefit of the doubt regarding the lack of personnel, I was wrong in doing so. We stayed here for 2 nights, August 13th - August 15th 2017. We were travelling with 2 small children and chose this hotel because of the rate and distance to the shops/Splash Lagoon. We arrived at the hotel at 4:05pm on the 13th to check in and there was no one at the front desk or at the office. We waited about 5mins and still no one, my husband had to go to the door of the office and call out for someone, still nothing; 2 couples entered the lobby and both said 'Good luck finding someone, no one is ever here'. We finally found Katie, a member of housekeeping, who apologized profusely for the lack of staff/front desk staff. She searched everywhere for the person, Amy, who was supposed to be at the desk. She even called someone to obtain a phone number for her. At this point it was now 30 mins that we were waiting with a 3yo and 1yo, Katie was ready to go from floor to floor looking for Amy. Finally Amy showed up mumbling 'sorry' and looking disheveled, we got our key cards and finally made it to the room, at this point now 40 mins later. Pros: Katie, for going above and beyond and the rest of the housekeeping staff for being so friendly. Rooms were clean and spacious, beds comfortable, mini-fridge, tv, and microwave were great. Close to the shops and Splash Lagoon. Check-OUT was quick and easy. Cons:Check-IN was horrible. We had towels but only half a roll of toilet paper upon check in. Outlet in the bathroom did not work. Honeslty, I've never been more disappointed with a hotel's service (we've stayed at numerous BWs across the USA), with all the complaints that were on here regarding the check-in process you would think something would be done to correct it. More training perhaps or maybe an additional body between the hours of 4pm and 8pm.

We arrived late evening with rsvp for (2) king suites and were met with rude front desk associate telling us there weren't enough rooms (only 1) and we would have to find other another room somewhere else. This was Saturday night! I was traveling with spouse, adult children and a 91 yr old parent. I contacted the BW 800 number and via speaker phone, two separate representatives confirmed my valid reservations at which time Stephanie (who only provided her name when I insisted.) threw herself across the counter, arms spread out while lamenting she doesn't have enough rooms for other guests who were also scheduled to arrive that night. Stephanie also refused to provide a number for A general - regional manager. The 800 # representatives advised Stephanie she was obligated to find us alternate lodging even if it were a competitor. In the meantime, sympathetic guests were sharing their own horror stories of rooms not being cleaned, no linens and electrical outlets not working. A 2nd front desk clerk (Lisa) returned to the counter and was doing her best to help. Lisa was kind. However, she had just cleaned (3) rooms herself and was folding towels for the guests who were standing in the lobby waiting for them to come out of the dryer. An 800 number representative also verified our reservations with Lisa. However, in her best attempt, she didn't have any rooms available. After a lengthy and upsetting ordeal, Stephanie handed us the # to a different hotel chain 30 miles in the opposite direction to which we were traveling and said we would need to call ourselves. We wound up at the Cobblestone Inn in Corry PA. The Cobblestone Inn service, facility and management out performed Best Western in every way. How sad for Best Western as they try to improve their image. What a terribly run operation. Best Western should be very concerned about the lack of organization, management and horrible overall customer service at the Erie PA location.

The hotel is quite new and appealing but that won't last because they are severely understaffed and the carpets, walls and many surfaces are already stained, chipped and showing wear. Breakfast was a joke as the front desk person was also in charge of keeping the breakfast there wasn't coffee or utensils or hot food. Housekeeping didn't make the beds and didn't clean properly. The fitness centre did not have air conditioning on and there wasn't a water cooler or fountain. They had a shelf for towels, but no towels were available so there was no way to wipe down equipment...gross. The hotel has great potential because it is quite attractive and in a great location, but I see it becoming run down really fast.

"Would Not Stay Here Again"

Upon arriving at the hotel, I spoke with a young lady at the front desk that signed me in. Part of the paperwork that I was asked to sign and initial was for any damages to the room during my stay.  I told her that I would not sign or initial anything until she went with me to the room and we looked at everything together.  I also told her that when we came back down that she needed to initial and sign that everything was okay in the room . Upon entering the room with her and my granddaughter we found a very sticky substance in the entryway and part of it into the bathroom. She walked in the room very quickly looked at things and said, "Everything is fine".  I said "You didn't even look in the bathroom to see if there was any damages in there and what about this horrible sticky stuff on this floor".  I asked her had the room been cleaned and maybe could we have another room.  She said don't worry the housekeepers are just across the way and I'll have them come in and clean it. My granddaughter and I left went down to get our luggage and when we came back we found her in the room with a rag and a squirt bottle trying to get this sticky substance off.  A very poor job done and I was not happy that the housekeepers had not come in to take care of it. We went ahead and chose to stay in the room. We weren't there very long and for no reason at all one of the lamps turned on all by itself. It was quite unsettling as we thought maybe there was something wrong with the wiring in the wall. We immediately unplugged the lamp. The other table lamp was plugged in, but was not working and I had to push it into the outlet further to even get the lamp to come on. Again we felt the wiring was very poor in this room and we unplugged that lamp too.  The fan in the bathroom sounded like a jackhammer. For a newer Hotel these kinds of things are unacceptable. In the morning, 7:15, I went down to the breakfast area to get coffee.  The coffee carafe was empty, the Lazy Susan that held the cups had not been filled,  and both big bins of garbage were jam-packed to the top with old stinky garbage. I went to the front desk and told the gentleman that they needed to be changed out and there was no coffee. This again assured me that housekeeping was not doing their job and that they had no one assigned to the eating area for breakfast. There were no eggs or bacon, the Danish that they had were so old and stale you couldn't eat them, the fruit was so ripe that you didn't want to eat them, and after telling the gentleman there was no coffee earlier there was still no coffee. Very poorly done and the food very unappetizing. The elevator on the right hand side was not working and a sign saying " Out of order".  Again that made me feel very uneasy to know that electrical and the elevator was unsafe. The carpeting in front of the elevator had filthy dirty coffee or drink stain all over. This carpeting needed to be steam cleaned and address by housekeeping or by janitorial service. Again this reassured me that housekeeping was not doing their job and made me feel like I was staying in a dirty Hotel. Went to use the swimming pool and there was only one towel. Again, no one servicing that area either. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone, especially those that are used to staying in clean hotels and with much much better service. Also, the staff is very unorganized and everybody wondering around looking  like they didn't know what they were doing. Very unprofessional. They need a lot of work. Upon saying that, I asked three other people before leaving there what their thoughts were on the service and the cleanliness of this hotel . All three said they would not stay there again. There was one lady that said she had stayed two nights and her room was never touched for making beds or anything else.  She said she was not staying the third night and was looking for another hotel.

Everything is nice and new, but upkeep is lacking. We walked in to check in and the front desk girl was complaining that everyone kept coming in and she can't get her other work done. Went up to Our room and there was a huge stain one the carpeting right outside the elevator. Room was nice. No tub, but a shower worked for us. Housekeeper came to tidy up but neglected to even change the empty toilet paper. Wi-fi ran good the first day, but was horrible the second day. Front desk girl the second day was running the breakfast area between checking people out and answering phones. Breakfast area was out of a lot of things, including milk for cereal and spoons. There was no ice machine on the second floor and the vending machine was broken. No towels in the pool area. Just need to hire more people to help out in lacking areas.

Front desk had no coverage upon our arrival... for 20 minutes, leaving us puzzled, angry and frustrated. Almost capacity hotel and very understaffed! For a new hotel, the AC was noisy..chugging and went on/off all night like a "60"s hotel. The king size bedroom was on the small size, but well-appointed with a very nice bathroom. The noise ..hall and other rooms was on the high end. Standard breakfast, but not enough seating at times. Attendant did a good job replenishing food. The pool needed attention..looked cloudy and had dirt on the bottom. For the price we paid....not pleased with this property!

The hotel looks brand new. Unfortunately so is the staff. We waited more than 15 minutes at the front desk for someone to check us in. Finally flagged down a maintenance person to go find someone. The person who did show up said "Oh, sorry, our systems have been down all day - can you come back in half an hour?" OK then. When we finally did get checked in, the internet didn't work. Didn't bother reporting it given the earlier issue at the front desk. The room itself was fine - clean and typical Best Western quality, and basically brand new. At breakfast next morning, the food was OK, except they ran out of hot water for tea, and ran out of orange juice. Again, trying to find someone to restock the items was an exercise in frustration. Once again, no one was at the front desk, and no staff were in the breakfast room area. Eventually, another guest found a hotel maid who helped restock the missing items. The hotel is nice enough, but they need better management, and either more staff or better trained staff. Someone should always be at the front desk.

This was a nice hotel and stay. One mistake at check in keeps me from a rave review. The original assigned room was not properly cleaned and ready. 2 half emplty soda bottles in the frig. plus note pad sheets with notes left on table. obviously the maid did not complete the room or use a check off sheet. We received a new room and all was well with it. The desk girl was very responsive and helpful in responding to the issue and solving it.

I had an upgraded room to a King Suite and it was great. Two tvs, sofa, tables, and the bed .... very comfortable. Has only a stand up shower, no tub. I had choice of wifi or wired internet. Indoor pool is small but warm and perfect for a quick dip. Coffee is always on in the lobby. Lots of parking. Eating places nearby. Breakfast was great. I think that this is a new hotel. No complaints. I would stay here again.

My family and I stayed in a 2 queen room this past weekend for a short trip to Presque Isle. I should've known better than to wait to check in after going to the beach. I should've checked in before. We got to the hotel around 6:00 after a long day at the beach. Check in was fine and then we went to our room. First, the door was propped open...for what reason I don't know but after everything I witnessed, the reason can't be good. We set our things down and went into the bathroom and the toilet had poop stains in in like somebody had either just used it or they never cleaned it. So I sat down on the bed to call the front desk and found hair all over the linens, including hair that looked like pubic hair. The man who checked us in said that there weren't any of the same rooms available and offered to come up and clean the toilet. Finally after waiting for almost a half hour or more, the front desk clerk came up and cleaned our toilet and then I told him about the dirty linens on the bed. I ripped all of the linens off and told him that if he gave me new ones, I would gladly put them on. He told me that the 2 comforters on the bed were the only 2 comforters that he had and that he would wash them for me. While all of this was going on, the front desk clerk who cleaned our toilet told us that he would bring me linens back after he dealt with the broken down elevator. There were two was just sitting on the 2nd floor with the doors open while the one next to it was stuck shut with people inside. Later on in the evening, it appeared that the people pried themselves out of the elevator as the doors were pried open. Never was a warning sign or anything put up to let people know to stay away from the elevator that was stuck between floors. On top of all of this my teenagers were swimming in the pool which didn't have any towels for them to use and there were sticky glass stains all over the tables in the room. The front desk told us that he would give us a discount so when we checked out the following day and he wasn't there, we checked to see if he did and he gave us a discount of $10.00!!! $10.00 for a disgusting room. In addition, the walls and ceiling are paper thin and if you're on a lower floor like we were, you can actually hear what people are saying outside 2 floors down. All in all, this hotel was a bad experience. Our stay was on Saturday and I still haven't heard from a manager after leaving my name and number. Do yourself a favor and spend a little more money and stay somewhere that is at least clean.

My fiancé and I came to Erie for the half marathon which fell on the same weekend as roar on the shore. Needless to say it was pretty difficult to book a nice room due to the volume of people in town for the event. I decided to book directly with Best western at a pay ahead guaranteed rate on their site. When we arrived at the hotel, the front desk clerk took awhile to pull up my reservation and give us a room. We shortly found out that it was because they overbooked the hotel for the weekend & somehow (even though we booked/ paid in advance), we were part of the overbook. They sold out of the room we had booked and instead gave us another room at the same rate. We wanted a king and instead were given two queens, this isn't what I paid for and I was not offered any sort of rate adjustment. This is all before we were informed gently that the elevators were out of service and that unfortunately our room was on the highest floor -4. This meant we had to climb 4 flights of steps with our heavy luggage and also back down them the following morning because the elevators were still inoperable! Luckily neither of us are handicapped! How do you operate a hotel like this?! I understand things happen but the two major inconveniences we had weren't even properly acknowledged by the hotel other than some type of apology. I would at least expect a credit or something for what we paid for the room. Outside of how this situation was handled, I will say the hotel itself is very nice. It's clean, the beds are comfortable and they do have nice ammentities such as a pool and fitness center.

This is a newer hotel that has a posh "West-Elm" look but it's just a terrible experience. When we checked in at 11.30 pm at night (after driving all day) and went to our room, we found the beds unmade, towels all over - clearly it had not been cleaned. Turns out that they do not have any more 2 queen rooms even though that's what we reserved. So it was one bed and a sofa bed. Then in the middle of the night for some inexplicable reason the AC unit power turned completely off - when I woke up sweating I had to manually turn it back on. One of the several switches by the door controlled the refrigerator. So when we turn off all the lights, we inadvertently switched off the fridge with our food inside for the night. And here's breakfast at 8am: waffle machine not in use, cereal running low, no milk to add, no spoon eat with, no scrambled eggs, no sausage, and plenty of people waiting, and not a single hotel manager even bothering to oversee the breakfast. The only people there who were helpful although completely flustered were the front desk girls (both at night and in the morning). There were bunch of manager-type people hanging out in a room next to breakfast not even bothering to check. Not at all recommended. I've stayed at the H2 Hilton literally across the parking lot and it is way better!

Yes, this is a new hotel, and the quality of their service is in need of improvement! When we checked in, we were eligible for an upgrade... We were told that they were full and no upgrades were available. We went up to our assigned room, and the door was propped open. We told the front desk that it appeared that someone else had a key to this room and that we wanted another room. Lo and behold, we were given an upgraded room. The room appeared to not have been vacuumed for several days. While it was a comfortable room, it could have been cleaned better. The breakfast was OK. They replenished the scrambled eggs out of a plastic bag (while we were standing there watching)! The pastries were days old. The best part of the breakfast were the self-prepared waffles! They ran out of coffee twice in the breakfast room, however, always had coffee in the lobby. Twice out of 5 days our room was not cleaned! We never received an explanation as to why they were not cleaning our room. And, when they did clean our room, again they did not vacuum (or clean the coffee table)! Ugh! Finally, when we tried to checkout (at 4:30 AM), there was nobody at the front desk to help us. We knocked on the office door, looked in the kitchen, called out for someone several times, and ended up waiting 10 minutes for the front desk person to come in from taking a break out in the parking lot! The location of this hotel is good. With this lack of attention of quality service from the staff, it is just a matter of time before it starts to look like the discount hotel that it is!

We recently spent two nights at this hotel. The hotel is quite new so it is nice and clean and in good condition. It is modern but a low budget hotel. I suppose considering the cost it is not bad value. However there were disappointments and some good things. Good things include the location and its proximity to shopping, restaurants and some of the attractions. The disappointments include only having one chair in the room and that was an office chair. We had a room with a king bed. If you wanted to relax for an hour before bed you were out of luck unless you crawled into bed. Nowhere to sit. When asked for another chair they could not provide one. Pool was small and no hot tub. Breakfast was organized confusion with inadequate food supply and seating. Done at 9am. HVAC system was either not set up properly or the maid was finger poking. Controls were mostly disabled so no adjustment to the high air velocity. Poor system. The problem with this penny pinching budget hotel is that the one staff person not only checked people in and out but provided the breakfast, mopped the floors and did whatever was required to the best of their ability. The staff person was friendly but not very helpful and that was understood as they were kept over busy so in turn service suffered. I will not return and will likely opt to pay a bit more for some of the finer things one would expect when staying at a new reputable hotel chain. Best Western has not won my future business.

Very nice and helpful staff. Also a very new and clean hotel!! Went for a long weekend over the Fourth of July and my girlfriend and I were very surprised at the quality of this hotel. Everything was clean and new.

Staff is great and extremely helpful. Hotel is very clean. Breakfast is plentiful. Easy access to everything. I would definitely stay there again. We were so satisfied with the staff and hotel that we stayed there again instead of staying elsewhere for a cheaper price.

First, there was no toilet paper in the restroom. My daughter had to wait 20 minutes until I got one. We went to a soccer tournament and our team did not make it to the finals. When I tried to cancel my last day, they told me I had to cancel 24 hours before. One of my friends who stayed in the hotel next to us canceled and only had to paid a $25 fee.

Looks nice from the outside , but lots of issues inside. We reserved 2 rooms with 4 people in each room, so thought we were getting adjoining rooms. Sorry, rooms not cleaned yet at 5:00 even though check-in is at 3:00 so 1 room on 2nd floor and 1 room on 4th. Okay, we can deal with that. The ones on the 4th floor ended up being moved to 2nd floor because of dirty bed...gross ! Bed on 2nd floor had blood on the comforter, took hours to get it replaced. I could go on and on, but will just say I would never recommend this hotel to anyone. Needs help from management to housekeeping.

New hotel. Very clean and quiet. Easy access from freeway and a lot of stores and restaurants near by. Will definitely stop again for overnight visit or longer. Really nice pool and fitness area. Stopped here while traveling from Ohio to Rhode Island. Good value. The air conditioning is really cold. Showers are step in without tub but larger heavy glass sliding doors vs a grabbby shower curtain. I saved this one as a place to go back to in the future.

Overall, a decent hotel. Newer, decor is nice, location is good, just off I-90. Very convenient. Bed was comfortable, but rooms are small. New flat screen TV's with plenty of channel selections. Overall, the stay was above average. A few things to note - Parking lot is strange. You have to basically park on the sides of the building, only a few spaces by the main entrance. The turn radius in the small main entry way is so tight, you have to back up and redirect your vehicle. There is next to no handicapped parking, and it's on the side of the building, not in front. Construction worker trucks were in handicapped spots, with no placard. The room itself had no chair to sit in, your seat is the bed. Makes it uncomfortable to just relax and watch TV or read. It seems like they're still working the kinks out, because the building is not very well situated on the property. Not sure we would stay again, as handicapped parking and a chair in the room are basic "amenities" that we prefer to have when traveling.

My little ones and I stayed for a weekend in May, we were in town for my sister's college graduation. The hotel was nice, it was clean and new. Easy access to the highway and there is plenty to do in the area. After returning home (Upstate NY), I realized I left my Steve Madden jacket in the hotel closet. I called the hotel right away. Long story short, I have talked with the hotel staff 3 times now..each time they confirmed they have my jacket. They have not yet returned my jacket!!!

This is a very new hotel and the exterior and interior are all new and clean. The room was quiet and everything works well. The only issue was the parking lot is not complete and you cannot drive around the hotel yet. You pull up to the entrance to check in and it can be difficult to turn around to find an open parking spot. Staff are helpful and the parking was our only negative. Give it a couple of months and the parking should be complete.

We were very pleased with our experience at this hotel! Two issues we noticed were the odd location of the front of the building in relation to the entrance of the parking lot. We were initially confused where the main entrance was. The front desk staff could have dressed a little more professionally.

"Great hotel with a couple small issues"

Breakfast looked good but when put it on the plate it was horrible. The bacon didn't look cooked all the way and the eggs were so dry you could blow them off the plate like dust. Parking lot is not complete and drive to front entrance is not complete either. This creates a definite issue when they are busy. Mattress was not very comfortable to me or my girlfriend.

Stayed a week for funeral. Excellent staff, clean & quiet. Good hot breakfast and better than average coffee from machine in lobby as well as breakfast room. Modern decor and light bright colors throughout the hotel made stay pleasant.

Hotel is conveniently located just off interstate on Peach Street, giving quick access to shopping and restaurants. Check in was smooth. Room was clean and neat, furnishings still new in appearance. Breakfast was usual hot/cold hotel offerings and adequate. Breakfast area was spacious & clean.

Great place to stay. Stopped in as a halfway point to our destination. Anyone who knows me will tell you that I am very fussy when it comes to hotels and where I sleep. It was Very clean and comfortable. I would definitely stay there again!

"Basic comfortable stay"

We stayed at the Best Western Plus Inn & Suites in in early April, 2017. My husband and I travelled from the Toronto area to do some shopping at stores we don't have here in Canada. Our first night we stayed in Erie and shopped around the area there. The hotel was very conveniently located, comfortable, but a little disappointing. The Room: The room we had was on the first floor, conveniently located close to the side entrance and front desk area. It was fairly spacious and had regular amenities including a desk and chair, coffee maker, mini fridge, flat screen tv, a chaise lounger with side table and a king-size bed with two bedside tables. There was no real closet, however, there were two bars with hangers by the door and an iron/ironing board was stored in that area as well. It was rather noisy, as people coming in from the parking lot had to pass by the room, the main lobby was just a few steps from our door and in the morning you could hear people in the breakfast area. We were provided with free Wifi in the room. The Bed: Typically my husband likes hard beds and I like more of a memory foam type bed. This bed was somewhere in the middle and quite comfortable. There were four pillows on the bed: 2 labelled "firm" and 2 labelled "soft" to choose from. There was a duvet with cover and a light blanket on the bed. It was kind of cold in the room, and we would have liked an additional blanket - but were too lazy to ask for one! You probably could get an extra from the front desk but there wasn't an extra in the room. The Bathroom: The bathroom was large. It seemed we had an accessible room as the shower had no tub and was very large with a hand rail as well. The sink and counter were basic, but there was a lot of room to put out toiletries. There were plenty of bath towels, hand towels and face cloths. The hotel also had mini bottles of shampoo, conditioner, body lotion and two bars of soap available for use in the bathroom. The Amenities: We didn't use any of the amenities included in the hotel except for the breakfast/breakfast area. There was a pool and seating area in the main lobby with a computer, but aside from that I couldn't tell you what else the hotel offered. The Breakfast: I was thoroughly disappointed with the breakfast offering. Breakfast started at 7am until 10am. We went at 8:30 and there was only a few random pastries, cereal and yogurt left. The waffle mix was all out, there were no hot items left at all. They did have coffee, tea, juices and milk to drink. My husband let the front desk know that there was nothing left, and then we packed up to leave. On our way out we saw the staff refilling items. So we packed our car and then went back to eat. There were scrambled eggs, breakfast sausage links and waffle mix to make your own waffles. They never refilled the syrup, but we were happy that the food was refilled before we left. Also, there was food all over the floor by the breakfast bar and messes on the counter from other guests - it didn't get cleaned up until the breakfast time was close to over. It was kind of gross in my opinion. Overall, we would stay here again to give it another try, but we would request a room on the second floor or higher.

I am so glad I booked my stay here! The bed very comfortable , room was roomy, clean, inviting. Snack beverages and things we may forget to pack by the desk so you can pay for them or charge them to your room even include frozen meals and ice cream in pints or by the individual goody. A great hot breakfast before heading out the door. I can't say enough about the check in desk staff !!!!

"Bit of a work in progress"

This is a nice hotel. It's only a month or two old. I think that while it is nice now, there are some things that will get better when they with time/experience. It would have been nicer if the parking lot was complete. As it is now it's slightly difficult to navigate. Also, I think they're trying to figure out some things like how much of the different breakfast items they need to have in stock. That being said, I did enjoy this hotel. The beds were very comfortable and the front desk was very responsive when I asked for bedding for the pull-out bed. If it matters to you please note that the bathroom (at least in my room) had a shower only, no bathtub. That was fine for my family, although opaque glass (or something else to provide privacy) would have been nice so the sink could be used while someone else was showering. My only other complaint was the choice of carpeting for the stairs. I'm not sure who chose that, but wow. I know it sounds like I have a lot of complaints, but really I did enjoy my stay and would stay again in the future.

Overall it was a very nice stay my kids enjoyed the pool. I just think the breakfast could use a little help. We went out for coffee that was more our taste. The beds were really comfy and the bathroom was very spacious

and bed was very comfortable-----breakfast was good and was hot!!! There is no option for a military discount in the on line registration for this Best Western. The Staff we dealt with were very pleasant and professional. Will definitely stay here again!!!! Glad to see a Best Western finally in Erie that is right off of the Interstate. Easy to find.
