Best Western Galaxy Inn

Had nonstarter for the duration of my stay. Tue front desk did warn me but said it would be fixed that night or the next day, which didn't happen. Water would run out of sink and toilet a reddish brown for a few minutes when you turned it on. Room reeked of cigarette smoke, to the point I can still smell it on my clothes and bags.

Stayed here with my family over Labor Day weekend. It was reasonably priced, much lower than any of the beach hotels; about 45 minutes to Cape Henlopen and 20 minutes to Bombay Hook and 15 minutes to multiple public Delaware Bay beaches so a good location for us as we are nature lovers and will not pay the exorbitant beach rates in the summer. There were no issues with the room at all or the WiFi and the hot breakfast was great and above average. I lived in Dover for two years about 15 years ago so knew it is not the safest town (my car was broken into and there was a shooting on campus where I was going to school) and especially being across from the Air Base I was not expecting it to be a country club, however there was someone panhandling at the front door as I tried to check in asking for food and trying to "ask me a question." I just said "no." They were later seen picking up change in the parking lot. I saw one non-guest walk in from the road into the breakfast area and back out across the street and I could hear staff cursing at each other in the background. I found out later there was a shooting in the parking lot here in June of 2023. We didn't encounter anything like that but it's not the most wholesome family friendly environment. It's a shame that people have gotten away with raising hotel/motel rates to the point where an average family with two above-average income earners can only go to the beach in the summer if they stay in a place like this. If they can improve the security issues I would stay here again as the location, rate, and breakfast make it a worthwhile choice.

This hotel was disgusting. It was extremely dirty and that's an understatement. There were people shooting drugs up in the hallway. The rooms smelled like mold and mildew. Mold was visible on the walls. I took many pictures of the nasty run down room. My 4 year old was complaining about the hotel and didn't want to swim she said the place was dirty and she never wants to go back. My family stayed because we had a family function and a block of rooms were reserved. I went to the front desk which the attendant gave me a key to another room which the smell was the same. We had a total of 5 rooms. The beds were terrible you could feel and hear the springs. The stuff in the bathroom ceiling was falling down the exhaust fan and sprinkler. There was dirt in the tub and mold and rust around it. We couldn't take a shower it was so dirty.The telephone must hadn't been cleaned since the 90s. The hairdryer was filthy. The room had lots of flies.

My family and I stayed at this hotel this past weekend August 11th and 12th. We couldn't figure out if we were staying at a halfway house for drug addiction or homeless people. We went to get breakfast and it looks like they allow outsiders to come in to eat as well. We decided not to eat breakfast there. The person that was in the room next to me came out her room with blood running down her leg and also had plenty of needle marks on her legs. I went to the front desk and the person there was not surprised at what I was telling her. I wanted to speak to management but no one was there. I've stayed at this hotel before and have NEVER experienced this before. This hotel is definitely going down hill.

I've stayed at the hotel in the past. It'sa good place to stay, has ac fast food restaurant in the parking lot, is within walking distance of a small shopping center. Is always clean. Has a nice pool.

Even though we were in a non-smoking room, it had a smoke smell as the hallways had a heavy smoke smell. The hallways and stairways leading to the room were not clean. The ‘breakfast' was weak at best. The employee tending to the breakfast was dressed for a trip to the beach.

Do not stay here. The hallways are dark, filled with trash, and reek of cigarette smoke. Drunk people were screaming and slamming doors at midnight on a Wednesday night. The room looked like things had been ripped off the walks, and the bathroom needed a total redo. To top off my miserable stay here the front desk person charged my credit card 3 times for my room. BestWestern should pull their name from this horrible hotel.

This place needs a total redo, smell of cigarettes, shower didn't drain efficiently, microwave was filthy, , I've always had a good experience with BW, not this time, Surprised that BW puts there name on this establishment, it's a bare bones operation

Room smelled of cigarettes, the floor was very sticky and dirty. The bathroom was clean but the tub didn't drain. It took hours to drain after a shower. There was bugs, a few and not bed bugs. The bed was caved and leaning towards the headboard. We had to sleep with our heads at the foot of the bed to avoid headaches. The woman who checked us in was very friendly and helpful.

Comfortable bed, clean room, working amenities, quick check in and out, and friendly staff. All at an affordable price, all what I need to rest in my travel. Highly recommended. I stayed at Best Western different brands many times and I am happy with the experience.

This property is in need of major renovations, and just in general fixing. There was broken/smashed windows by 2 different entrance doors and those doors wouldn't lock making for an insecure building. The internet is so slow it's not worth trying to log in to. They refused to give me a blanket when I asked for one saying that they didn't have any.. The towels and washcloths are old/frayed/ and discolored. I have stayed at many BW locations and this one has to be the worst one ever. Do yourself a favor and stay somewhere else---I think even Motel 6 would have been a better choice.

A few positives, but mostly negatives for me. This hotel is quite run down and in need of a serious upgrade. I will point out a few positives though - plenty of hot water, good water pressure, and quite a few breakfast offerings. I follow a plant-based diet and usually can't find anything to eat at these hotel breakfasts, but was able to here with their offerings. I appreciated that. Now, some negatives - there seemed to always be these one or two cars parked out by reception and one looked like it was full of junk in the backseat. I don't know if these are employee cars or what, but it just didn't look appealing to walk in past these cars every day. So there was a side door I preferred to use with my key card, but it did not shut and latch well and I felt it was a security hazard. The hallway carpet looked like it hadn't been vacuumed in weeks. The first room they gave me had some liquid on the room floor, looked like it hadn't been swept, and the bathroom floor was really slick, like it hadn't been properly mopped. I admit it was not a lot of liquid, but it was just kind of icky to walk into a room with some unknown sticky looking liquid on the floor. I even offered to clean it up if they provided some paper towels and cleaner, but the desk clerk gave me a different room. The second room still looked like it hadn't been swept, but I'm starting to wonder if rooms with luxury vinyl tiles floors just kind of have this problem - the a/c or heat in the room circulates the air which blows dust bunnies and other debris around. So I will give them a pass on that. I have laminate floors at home and sweep constantly and still constantly find debris, BUT I also have pets. Anyway, the towels in the bathroom looked like they had been thrown up onto the rack and towel bar. Very sloppy. (I am attaching photos of the liquid and towels). But worst of all, late in the day that I checked out of this hotel, my legs, particularly my left leg, started itching. I thought I picked up a mosquito bite or two somewhere. But it just got really awful, and I discovered about 30 bites mostly on my left leg. These are not mosquito or spider bites. There is a definite difference. These have to be bed bug bites. They look like the photos of bed bug bites online, and also the CDC website states that bed bugs may bite in a straight line and that is exactly what I see on my left leg. I immediately reported it to the hotel, once to the desk clerk and then to the manager (left a voice mail). I did hear back from the manager (after posting my initial review) and was told the room had been inspected and no bed bugs were found. I didn't have bites before and I haven't had bites since, so make of that what you will. If you opt to stay here, I would suggest you ovoid room 205.

Just ok...but a few good things too! So we needed a cheaper place to stay bc we are here for Senior pickleball Olympics. Room is ok...but weird toilet..it's like a lower kitty toilet low to grown. If you have health issues and legs aren't strong would be hard getting back up. Bathtub faucet drips constantly. Room has faint odor of smoke and perhaps cleaner but not too terrible. I think smoke smell comes from outside...people are smoking in outdoor stair wells and I think smoke is pulled in through AC units. Back stairwell door is unsecure..won't shut right. Stairwells are really dirty and I didn't want to touch handrails. A good power washing would help tremendously and monitor for trash or put a trash ca. Maybe special spot for smokers? Some of smokers seem to be the hotel staff. On good notes...bed is comfortable, noise outside is minimal, and breakfast is probably one of better ones we've had at this level of hotel. I also was impressed to see manager is monitoring these comments so hopefully our posts will encourage he and staff to make some changes. Pool is closed which was disappointing!

We had issues with odor in room & stickiness of the floors. Unsecured side door, neighborhood wasn't the best. Pool was out of service, the whole place needed TLC......font desk manager was great though

The room was overall clean but due for a deep clean especially the bathroom and floors. Holes in the sheets. Broken glass windows/doors of the building don't make you feel safe. Smells VERY much like smoke by the back door. No running elevator seems like a huge issue. Pool was also closed in August.

Love the manager Steve and all the front desk women been going here for years very understanding people. Great service. Always come here when they have rooms when I need them. Never have any issues friendly housekeeping clean grounds.

There was no elevator, dirty hallway carpets, rooms were decent with new vinyl flooring, there smell of weed in the hallway at one point. Would never stay here again. Should cost $60 a night, not $135

Hotel is degraded and needs a serious renovation. Several doors leading to the hallways had the glass broken and doors did not operate to secure the premises. Room had several holes in the walls from where drapes were but had not been patched correctly and or painted over. Light fixtures had rust and jetted tub was very old and finish was patched with what appeared to be Bondo. Staff was pleasant and nice and informative. I would not recommend a stay here until place has a serious renovation from the beds to the TV (very small in size).

BW standards have considerably deteriorated. I am a very well traveled business professional and couldn't believe myself the existing amenities and cleanliness of room at this hotel. Will never stay again here and for sure, hesitate to chose any BW hotel in near future for my business travel stay.

Horrible experience, sticky dirty floor, rooms smell of either smoke or mold. Carpeting in halls smells like wet dog. I will never stay at this place again, seems to be the MO of all hotels in Dover Delaware.

The Inn is under going remodeling. In the middle of the night we were awoken by something heavy being dropped on the floor above us. We didn't report it as it happened one time. The beds also have seen better days. The metal springs are heard every time you move. The big problem was we had no room service for two days. We reported it both times to the front desk. They did give us a discount for those days. Compared to other Best Westerns we have stayed at I would book elsewhere if we stayed in Dover again.

Won't be staying at this particular " Best Western " again. I've stayed at way better ones in the past then I have at this site. I didn't use the shower cuz of it lookin dirty so I washed up in sink. I had the heat turned up high to 84 n was still cold all night. Everywhere I walked smelled like smoke. Guy at service desk had no mask on n nor did 3 or 4 guest.

This hotel is my preferred hotel to stay at so I am close to the base and the other stores are convenient it's nice and quiet the people are respectful and kind I never had a problem not one time I've been staying there for years

Room not cleaned properly. No luggage carriers. 2nd floor only accessible by stairs. Heard State Police banging on another guests room yelling at them to “open up State Police.” Now, that was quite frightening.

Overall this hotel was dingy and reeked of cigarettes. Staff was pleasant, it was clean but it is old and needs major updating. It was hard to get past the smell, we did are best to spend as little time as we could there.

I've stayed at other Best Western hotels across US. Never would I expect what we found at Dover one - hotel is under construction, that would be ok - but there is no excuse for the filthy room conditions. Room pictures on the website are NOT from this hotel. The shower curtain was filthy & moldy, shower itself had a huge crack across it that was CB patches with some sort of glue. Bathroom does had dark brown smudges in the inside and outside. The window had so many hand prints I don't think it was cleaned this year at all. I went to front desk asking for manager to get in touch with us - not available until we check out. I was given a business card. Nobody came up to the room to see the conditions. Under Covid restrictions no breakfast - website stated that we can get grab bags. Don't count on those to replace breakfast - we got sorted bottle, piece of fruit & granola bar. The “breakfast is included in the price of the room” should be removed from the hotel's description. Beds are super squeaky - if you are a lite sleeper you won't get any sleep - my teenager laughed anyti E one of us moved in bed - it was that loud. One positive - gentlemen who checked us in was friendly & professional. He failed to inform us that there was no elevator so we went on a wild goose chase looking for o e and ended up logging out NAHS up yo se one floor. It's ok - I can handle that. The filth - not acceptable. I am tempted to send my pictures to the DE health department. I know that Best Western can do better - time to send someone down to Do er to get things cleaned up! I am hoping someone from BW will contact me (as I requested at the front desk) so we can discuss this. This location truly is a disaster. I'm attaching a picture of the shower curtain - this is unreal!

My wife and I went to Dover DE and decided to stay at a hotel overnight. I have stayed a many Best Western hotels. Most of them are very nice.Although the service at the desk was not that bad. I have to say that this is the worse one I have stayed at. It was under construction, however it looks like they are taking a long time to get it back together. The room did not look like the picture presented online. Our first room also smelled bad,so we moved to another. In the morning we went for the breakfast and no hot meals. All the equipment had out of order signs. I poured a cup of coffee it was bad, and I can drink just about any brewed coffee fresh or old. If this was a ratting for the worse I would have to say this one is in the top 5 someplace. I think that Best Western should just knock it down and start with a new one. Across the street is a Microtel hotel I don't think this Best Western can compete with that one.

The hotel is in the middle of renovating its rooms. When we walked in it smelled smokey. The floors are hardwood so it's cold at night. The beds are hard as a rock. When you move around at night it makes noises. The tv is older and not all channels come in. The tv does have hdmi ports so we watch movies off our laptop. The bathrooms need work. The faucet was loose. The shower head is large and the water pressure and temperature were good. The sink needs switched out from the pedestal to something with more space to put your toiletries. More power outlets needed. The breakfast was typical. I had issues with the pancake machine each day. I hoped for more options for yogurt besides peach or strawberry banana.

They used some stock photos to represent this location. It is not what is pictured. I could look over the fact that they are in the middle of renovation as there is no good time to do that. But the rest of this hotel is badly outdated. The doors that lead to the outside barely shut properly and anybody could just wander in off the street. The walls were paper thin and we could hear the folks next door arguing and their music the whole night.

Very familiar with BestWestern and was disappointed in this one. They were in construction but they could have done better. The bathrooms I hope will be one that they redo. The person that checked us in wasn't very friendly. I give thumbs up for the breakfast which saved the say.

I only stayed for one night and it was fine for that. I don't think I would have wanted to stay any longer though. My mattress was extremely uncomfortable & the springs made noises every time I moved.

Check in was ok. Close to Dover AFB which was why we were there. Sign on front door said sorry for the inconvenience we are in the midst of renovations. We did not get a renovated room and you could tell it really needed it. The rug was filthy. Room smelled musty and there were several flies in the room. Breakfast was decent. All the staff were ok but No one asked how my stay was when I checked out.

The hotel was not convient to the casino. The room was damp and smelled like mold. It was not a quiet room. The other guests were easily heard in the hallway. The room appeared clean but felt dirty due to the dampness and smell.

My family and friends (9 of us) booked 3 rooms through Priceline name your own price for the night of August 24 at your hotel, the Galaxy Inn, in Dover, DE. It was a perfect stopover point for us in our travels from outer banks to our home in upstate NY. When my husband called to confirm the reservation the day before, he was told that unfortunately the hotel was overbooked and we could not have 3 non-smoking rooms and that 2 of our rooms were smoking rooms. My son has asthma and is very sensitive to smoke so we were not happy with this but we were told that there was a possibility that there was a cancellation and decided to check in anyway since it was a Priceline deal and non refundable. Unfortunately, that was not the case and were informed that no cancellations had been made and these were the only available rooms. We were assigned rooms 230, 130 and 216. The smoke in the rooms 230 and 130 was unbearable, but not only that, the rooms were in disrepair and unclean. In room 230, there was a substance smeared on the wall that dripped to the wall trim (it looked like ketchup). The curtains had slices in them and there was no inner curtain. The sheets were stained. The carpet was old and stained. Overall, the room looked unclean, with dust and dirt on most of the surfaces. Regarding room 130, the room was dirty, rug extremely dirty, bathroom doorknob non functioning, closet door broken, toilet paper roll with only 2 sheets of paper not changed to full roll, ripped wallpaper, strong urine smell in room in addition to the overwhelming smoke smell which no one should be subjected to. There was crud along tile in bathroom and dirt or rust on the floor behind the door. The non-smoking room, 216, had spots on the carpet that looked like blood that started in front of the refrigerator and dripped to the bathroom. I am attaching photos of room 230 (curtains and red food stain) and the spots on the floor in room 216. In the end, due to the overwhelming smoke smell and dirty rooms and in the interest of our and our children's health, we decided to leave the hotel and find something more suitable and clean and ended up across the street. After showing the front desk clerk, she agreed to cancel the reservations and directed me to email the manager, which I did that night. I have not yet heard back. I understand that the hotel is going to be remodeled but at this point in time, the conditions of the rooms are unacceptable and we were extremely disappointed, as we have stayed in Best Western hotels in the past and expected a lot more from this chain.

The rooms are so dirt & smelled terrible! Beds are hard and squeaky, bathroom was filthy with a greasy floor and sink. Sheets gave us hives and must have been washed in cheap laundry soap. All we heard were doors slamming all night & so one kept calling our room in the middle of the night so I called the front desk and she said it wasn't her and that someone outside the hotel must be calling through the automated system so I just in plugged the phone at 4 am. The towels are so small and scratchy and there was no comforter on the beds just sheets. The dressers were so old the particle board was splitting apart on each corner and the chairs were covered in stains and smelled of urine. The staff did not care about any of my issues and did not even try to help. DO NOT STAY HERE it is not being renovated as they say it's just a dirty dump with lazy employees that don't want to help you!

So glad we only booked for 1 night! No roll away avail (ok, I can deal with that). Walking to our room and I thought maybe they gave us the wrong room, as there was trash left outside the door. There was used soap left on the sink. Stains on the bedspreads and carpet. The curtains had holes all through them as did the bed skirt. The rooms also smell musty and smoky when the AC kicks on. I understand they're renovating, but perhaps they should shut down while they do.

hotel in general smelled musty, very outdated. Our room had last visitors underclothes left under the bed, bed sheets had dirt / stains on them. Some garbage was left under the table. Vacuuming would have picked up these things. checked out early

Dover was packed with a lacrosse tournament last month. Our usual hotel was unavailable so we tried the BW Galaxy Inn on our way to the Delaware Beaches. The Inn served its purpose; a place to lay our heads for the night. The Inn was not the cleanest I have ever stayed in, nor was the parking lot. The outdoor pool was fine and served its purpose well. Breakfast was standard but not a home run. Room was adequate, although there were not many lights for the bathroom, just the three over vanity. Best part of the Galaxy Inn related being next door to Franco's Pizza and Pasta, which was extremely delicious. This Best Western is located near the highway which was convenient, however it seemed shoehorned into an area next to a McDonalds and some kind of large apartment buildings to the rear. Wifi was terrible, our phones would not connect as it deemed an insecure connection.

The hotel was clean and check-in and checkout was very easy. The staff was very friendly and willing to help me with directions and things to do in the area. Unfortunately my cell phone broke while I was there and I was there which put me without GPS in an unfamiliar area. The staff was willing to print off mapquest directions for me so I could get where I needed to go. I would recommend the hotel.

After using this hotel for many years it's sad to say that we will no longer be using them anymore. - Rooms are dirty and they do not clean them very well while you are staying there. - Breakfast is cold and food looks old even at 6 AM when it first starts. - There was no coffee available during breakfast time. - 1 cup coffee maker in room and front desk gave a hard time refilling the coffee supply. - There are shady people hanging out in the parking lot at all times. - Straps in the back of truck were messed with during stay.

This is an older hotel, which has an outside pool, lounge area and small gym. It is conveniently located close to the Air Force Base in Dover. My room was clean, the bed was comfortable, and the air conditioner worked. As expected there was an ice dispenser close by. The high speed internet was free and worked well. The staff was friendly and attentive. I was satisfied as I was traveling alone. It would meet the needs of my family for a one night stay, if staying for an extended period of time, I don't know. In short, if you are expecting the Hyatt, this is not the hotel for you. If you are looking for an inexpensive hotel, that meets your basic needs, and don't mind that it is older. This would be a good choice.

This hotel should be shut down for on safe and unsanitary conditions. Flies and ants in rooms and common areas. No housekeeping service always an excuse. Flies and aunts in food In breakfast room. Pool made me sick. Rude Lazy staff. Rooms smell like mold and smoke. Brought concerns to management and staff their excuse was we're sorry we're under renovations. Prices are too high for this value and this hotel should be shut down and replaced with new owners that care. Avoid at all costs.

I travel a lot and stay at Best Westerns due to convenience. This location was ok. Great Food behind the McDonalds. My only feedback is that it does need to be updated. The rooms that is. The Bathroom in particular needs to be updated. There was only one place to plug in electronics in the room

Located minutes from stores restaurants museum and the Dover raceway. Walking distant to restaurants across the lot. A clean hotel with a decent hot breakfast included we have stayed 3 years in a row and will be back

We stayed during NASCAR weekend. The room was dirty, Carpet was really dirty! Room was a non-smoking room but smelled so horrible of smoke. Actually entire building stank. We did not even check out the free breakfast. Based on room I would not eat here. Was told they were short staffed....again NASCAR weekend!?!

This is not what you expect from Best Western. Some of this sites issue is it smells bad and is not very clean. It also seems to be on the cheap side for breakfast cutting cheap honey buns in half to make them last and not keeping the eggs and other items hot.

The word BEST should not be in the name of this hotel. We arrived to unfriendly desk staff, no elevator so lugging luggage up dirty stairway, 2 dirty towels on back of bathroom door and 2 inches of water in the tub. The chairs in the room were stained and disqusting. The only thing I can say was the hotel was very quiet. The pedestal sink offers no counter space to get ready in the morning. Stains on bathroom wall, yuck.

When we return to the hotel Saturday night the bed was not made. I complained. The managed was supposed to call me so I could air my complaint to him. He never called. This hotel has a lot of problems. Mabey that is the problem . A manager who doesn't care. I have stayed in hotels all over the country/ this was the worst.

We stayed at this hotel for a lacrosse tourney. There are few hotels to choose from in Dover, but we found the staff to be very friendly, room was clean and water was hot and an easy drive to the sports complex. The front desk staff was super nice and the breakfast attendant, Charlette, was so sweet and helpful! The beds were a bit too stiff and the bases are made of metal that squeak when you sit on the beds. Overall though it was a good experience.

When I checked in the room smell musty and moldy. The tub did not look appealing looks like it was poorly fixed in the past. There was a soap rapper in the garbage can Karma which concerns me if they can't take that out how clean is the room. I was not informed of any type of breakfast buffet or options.

Beware this place is Dirty! Also beware of the website :Getaroom.com.It was advertised as 88.00 then after completing the order they charged: see below Costs & Fees Subtotal US$88.24 Tax Recovery Charges & Service Fees US$30.21 Total US$118.45 . $30.21 for Tax Recovery Charges & Service Fees ,its a rip off.I'm willing to be okey with this but since this hotel did not leave up to my expectation ,its worth mentioning it . I requested a non smoking Room. Front desk person friendly and nice but can use a flat iron on her white shirt which was wrinkled. Rm 202 : marked as non smoking but smelled SMOKE .It must be embeded on the old carpet and drapes on the window.I was not able to sleep well,the whole room just need some deep cleaning .A non smoker can really tell if that room had been smoked in. Breakfast :not very appetizing .I had yogurt and dont want to have anything else ,the place doesnt look very clean. I had stayed in a best western in the past and its always been good except this one .So Beware its not a BEST western quality,if you know what I mean.

This place is well maintained and is a quite decent property. There were no major defects of any kind and our room had all the amenities many more expensive rooms do and which some actually don't have. So, you get a lot for your money here. We paid $77 total and thought that represented excellent value. Service was pleasant. Everything was clean and in good condition. We enjoyed our stay here--there were no problems with noise or dirt or anything broken. Nice motel. We would stay here again. The TV worked fine I believe. Located just off Delaware 1, it is easily accessible for travelers passing through

The staff was very friendly and the rooms were very clean. Everyone was helpful if any questions or problems arrised. Hotel was quite and free of any noise. It was very relaxing and stress free. Location of the hotel made it easy to get any where in the area easily.

Our party of two families stayed two nights on our way to OCMD as we do every year so we have stayed at a couple of other hotels in the area. For the money this hotel was just OK, wasn't anything spectacular. The room was actually roomier than expected and in reasonable repair, although the lighting could be a little better. We found it to be too dark even with all the mismatched bulbs lit (a clear incandescent bulb and a compact fluorescent in the same fixture? quite odd). We did have some minor issues with the NON-SMOKING rooms actually smelling of smoke, our friends had to change rooms due to that. I'm very sensitive to cigarette smoke and I wouldn't say the entire hotel stunk of it and luckily my family's room did not smell of it. Both families had mattresses that were squeaky, so they need to change out some of the beds. Ours was so bad we had to switch beds with our 12yr. old daughter. We didn't want to switch rooms for fear of getting a smokey room. The bathroom was a little dated and could use a "freshening up", but everything worked as it should. Breakfast was your average fair, again, nothing spectacular but was acceptable for the price paid for the stay. The lady attending the breakfast area was quite pleasant each morning, always made sure everything was stocked. The outdoor pool area was actually the highlight of our stay, water was clear and warm and there were plenty of chairs and tables. The Pizza and Pasta restaurant in the same general parking lot was VERY GOOD, give it a try if you stay here. The main thing that needs to change here is a changeover to a COMPLETELY NON-SMOKING hotel and a complete overhaul of the interior with a nice clean down and some new paint. This place would sparkle if this was done. Why does a major hotel chain still continue to cater to a minority of people?? Overall, I'm keeping this hotel on our list only due to the fact that it's in a decent neighborhood primarily, and that it's a reasonably priced hotel secondarily, but it will be low on the list. Go SMOKE FREE and do a clean up and I'll move it up accordingly.

The hotel was not clean, the bed was very, very uncomfortable, there were flies flying around the front desk and lobby so we didn't eat breakfast there. We asked for a non smoking room but the whole hotel smelled of cigarette smoke. I put my things down on two of the tables in the room and they were sticky.... so were the arm rests on the chairs. They were very cheap with the towels and when we requested 2 additional towels PLEASE be brought up we were told to come down and get them.... when we went down there was no one at the desk. And for a room with 2 people there was only 1 TINY bottle of shampoo..... I LOVE Best Western, wherever we go we always stay in a BW but this one was gross!! Oh yeah and the overall area was no better!!

At first everything seemed to be great.. front desk lady named Tracy was friendly but ditzy acting. SHE booked us a room for 2 nights but the next morning we were told to leave because we never got a second night. SHE over booked many of the people there that night and many were unhappy that they were told to leave early!!! Left unhappy!!

I came in and the sheets were ripped, everything was damp. Everything smelled musty, and I couldn't bear the smell. There is a microwave and fridge.Bring your own blankets. Not very high quality and would not recommend.

i stayed at this hotel over the Memorial Day holiday. The lobby was very clean and the gentleman at the front desk explained the rewards program and even checked to see if I had previously been a member. The room was very clean, sheets, towels in great shape. I loved the fact that you were unable to enter the hotel from the doors around the back of the building unless you had a room key. That made me feel very safe during my stay. I will book this hotel again.

It's your average slightly aging motel. It was clean enough. The location was very close to Dover Air Force Base. The breakfast was pretty good. They had a nice selection. The halls felt dirty but the room was ok-ish. That is all.

I visited during the end of the weekend and it was really quiet. Staff was polite. I had no problems when I stayed. I would stay again. Quite nice for the price. I like the restaurant close to it too. Great recommendation!

Old, run down property. I had to stay in a smoking room as no other room available and all my clothes smelled like smoke on checkout. Would never stay here if I had a choice. Many different options available within 10 miles. I booked last minute for a local soccer tournament.

We sometimes like to go places and explore our country. The first thing we thought of is to go to the state capital of the first state, Delaware. The Best Western hotel offers reasonable rates with the best location and best amenities. We had a great time there.

Excellent place and convenient location. Fast easy check in. Comfortable room. Shower needs work but ok. Breakfast was 50/50 Sausage was good, but eggs were watery crumbles. Change the eggs and it's a winner

Hotel offers a very clean, comfortable & quiet stay. The halls and common areas were just a bit cooler than the room, but not uncomfortably so. Drawbacks/downsides were minimal, a vending machine wouldn't take dollar bills and the front desk, although they knew of this would not give quarters for the machine. The TV channel line up showed that they had STARZ network, but it was not there.

This is the worse bw I've ever stayed at. It's very out dated. It truly needs a do over. The hot water fluctuates and half goes down the drain. The hot water don't stay hot. The rooms need to at least be cleaned a lot better.

I wouldn't argue this is the nicest hotel I have ever stayed at, but for the price, location, and value it is definitely among the best. It is consistent, fair, clean, and reliable. I would recommend this to anyone with a need to stay in or near Dover who isn't determined to spend all their time in a casino.

Beware... Hotel is in a ghetto. Blood stains on wall, refrigerator was not working also no working television remote. Bed was comfortable and breakfast was good. There's some sort of housing project directly behind hotel and eyewitness open air drug sales

Friendly people,awesome comfortable room, great breakfast, check in went well, bed was very nice and room was immaculate. The work out room was very nice as well and the internet worked well for my use. The breakfast was very tasty, really enjoyed of all things the pancake machine. I have never in my life seen that before, and the sausage was Hormel, had to ask, it was delicious! As were the eggs and potatoes. Honestly all around nice stay, will get the opportunity again soon i hope!

My friend and I had entered our dogs in an Agility trail. This was a very important trail for placement. Even with other dogs in the hotel, there wasn't any sound of barking in our room. It was an enjoyable stay.

We stayed here this past weekend for the marathon and were glad it was only for one night. The first room we were given smelled smoky, so we asked to change to another room. My brother's room was musty and the people next door played loud music all night long. The property is currently undergoing renovations and is "a work in progress". The breakfast was the best part, with a variety of items offered. The breakfast attendant had her hands full to begin with and then she had to take care of the front desk too, which is way too much for one person to do. She did her best and was probably entertained by my nephew. I think this hotel will be better once the renovations are completed. I just wish that guests would have enough sense not to smoke in the non-smoking rooms and play loud music past midnight.

Short overnight stay. Good location. Check in and out were both quick and efficient. Rooms could use some upgrading. Usually this type of hotel is a little nicer. Wifi worked ok. Probably would not stay here again.

I've never been a picky person but this hotel was by far thee worst me and my family stayed in.There are bed bugs nats everywhere and flies from the room that I stayed in to the dining area which was by far the worst. Bathroom was not the cleanest I had to clean it myself just to shower. I was eaten alive by the bugs in the bed and the same exact experience in my brothers room as well .never again in my life will I stay there or recommend anyone to do the same just horrible

Customer service was friendly! For some reason there was no vacancy to change rooms or go somewhere else. The smell of old cigarette smoke when entering the room was awful, we brewed coffee just to help mask the smell! Wallpaper was peeling off the at the seems near the ceiling, the carpet was dirty, a red stain was smeared across the floor, my husband and I joked about foul play! The jetted tub had an odd patch in it and it took at least 30 minutes to fill and one of the jets was broken because when I turned it on to check if it worked it soaked me, shooting out onto the floor and walls of the bathroom! And the shower head pipe was loose and not attached inside the wall.

I expected a cozy night after almost 4 hour drive from Virginia Beach but my expectations turn into a nightmare once i entered my room.The room smells like an insect spray and the toilet bowl is stinky. I paid almost a $100 for one night but its not worth it. Never again will I step in to this place.

Hotel is close to Dover AFB. Not very far from other attractions in the area. We stayed during Nascar Race weekend. I was surprised to find a place to stay at a reasonable rate. The Hotel was going thru renovations but this did not impact us at all. The room was clean and comfortable. Daily maid service and the breakfast was better than most. I would stay again.

This is the only hotel I stay at while visiting Dover, DE. It's quite a baby for your buck. It's in not in the noisy part of town but not in an inconvenient place either. The staff is very helpful and friendly. I'd recommend this place to a friend. Not bad pricing either.

After booking this hotel, with no other option for race weekend, I didn't know what to expect. Reading the reviews before getting there, I began to worry that we were going to stay in an old dirty hotel. As I arrived into the lobby there was a black and white movie playing, old leather couches, and fans that looked like they might just fall off the ceiling. Walking down to my room felt as if we were walking in a dorm hall, I didn't know what to expect with the room. Once I was in the room, I realized that there were few convenient outlets that worked, holes in the sheets, a weird smell in the room, dirty stained shower curtain and walls, somebody else's hair stuck to some towels, a shower that looked like it would break at any moment and more. This hotel is old and it seems like the owners/company don't care about spending just a little to fix simple things. If you cared about your guests, at least seem to try to fix up the place, like just go to Walmart and get new clean shower curtains.

Hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. Room had a musty moldy odor. Carpet was very old so it looked like it wasnt vacuumed even tho it was. Jetted tub didnt work which is reason why i stayed in that room in the first place. Continental breakfast was terrible.

Traveling here by motorcycle for a short trip around Delmarva, found this hotel to be a great value for the stay. Not the best of accommodations, but was really just looking for a place to rest my head for 7 hours. Fit the bill just fine.

1st the Room only have 2 available outlet total on a desk that goes to a lamp. 2nd they were working on The sidewalk by the outside of the door think into the building and I had to park and walk all the way up the building inside the building than all the way back down after the staff and told me rocket park at the end of the law to walk rabia. The Room is also dingy and needs to be updated with it colors. I found the staff to be unfriendly. And the message light will not stop Flash at all my phone. I know it's a lot of little things but it's just a lot of frustrations.

Hotel had signs saying they were being remodeled, they really need it because it was very run down but it was also very dirty. House keeping was not doing a great job and the non smoking room smelled of smoke.

Were in area for business, reservations were made only a couple of days before. Room was clean, staff were pleasant, near to shopping, restaurants and right down the road from air force base. It was a raining nights so we really didn't explore the area.

Awful odor through out hotel. They are remodeling. General disrepair. Overpriced for the condition of the hotel.. the walls need work. Not enough outlets. Plastic bag over windows. The bed was fine but the wrinkles on the sheet made me wonder if they had changed the sheets. Dimly lit. Poor service from the night clerk.

Checked-in late (after 10:30pm) since we were coming from Lancaster, PA and wanted to be there early the next morning for Thunder Over Dover at the AFB. The man at the front desk took my ID and never asked for my credit card and then handed me 2 keys for the room and told me the room number and then went back to doing what he was doing before I walked in (talking on his cell phone). He never told me where to park or enter so after circling the parking lot twice we finally found a parking spot that seemed like it was close to a entrance. We were on the second floor and we couldn't seem to find the elevator which we then learned that they do not have one! If I would have know this I would have booked else where. Once we go to the room which was average to say the least. 2 queen beds, table with 2 chairs (one really, the second chair was in dire need of being replace), TV, wardrobe, microwave and refrigerator. In the bathroom there is a pedestal sink (?) and a very, very, low toilet. In the shower there were EMPTY body wash and shampoo containers which were never filled. Breakfast was served in room that maybe had 6 tables and a folding table. The OJ was out both morning along with the pancake mix for the pancake maker. Over all if you are looking for a side of the highway place to lay your head without any fills then this is the place for you to stay. They are also currently doing some cosmetic renovations to the outside of the building. We did not use the outdoor pool so I can not say anything about that.

The stay at the hotel was ok. The main point was that it was close to our destination. The receptionist at the front desk looked sloppy with a terribly wrinkled shirt, but was polite and friendly, and gave good directions to our room. The room was a bit cramped and the beds were a tad hard, but it was clean and smelled acceptable. I loved that it had a decent size small refrigerator. The food at breakfast was ok, although the eggs tasted like they were either reconstituted powdered eggs or from a carton. It was nice to have fresh fruit. The potatoes were alright. I didn't try the fresh made pancakes. Overall the experience was ok.

With the exception of the ROCK HARD beds in my room, the weekend was enjoyed, the staff was very knowledgeable when it came to my immediate needs and the accommodations around the area were close at hand. If ever a room is needed which special needs close to Dover AFB, then this hotel is the right one, the gates to the base are right down the road. Great stay.

Close location to The Air Mobility Command Museum! and Ocean City, Maryland. Hotel was easy to find using my GPS. Did not have a chance to use the onsite pool! It did look nice. The staff was nice and very professional!

My family and I had a nice stay at the best western. The rooms were clean the service was excellent and the housekeeping was nice and polite... The pool was nice and refreshing and breakfast was on point .

This hotel allows smoking good for the smokers. However Poor customer service, they don't give you wifi information,breakfast hours etc.. beds are VERY uncomfortable this is not a 2 1/2 star hotel more like a 2 star they don't even offer toothpaste etc.. Disappointed. After a long drive now I must run out to the store. Never again for over $100 dollars a night not worth it!!

Hotel was as expected. Quiet comfortable. We had a slight problem with the jetted tub. Hotel manager was very understanding and made a monetary adjustment on bill because we paid extra for the room with that tub.

Although breakfast was surprisingly good and fresh, it could not make up for the bad night. The hotel is extremely humid and smells terrible. I had to ask for extra sheets because ours did not feel fresh. The worst was the carpet that made everything black with dirt. We used the 'dirty' sheets on the floors just to walk between bed and bathroom. For that price would rather stay in cleaner hotel with no breakfast and go to Ihop than do our own sheets and cleaning after a long travel!

Everything smelled of cigarette smoke (in my room) the bed linens the curtains the chairs even though I was in a "non-smoking" room, the smell of smoke was in everything including the hall. Everything was clean, the staff were polite and accomodating.

We booked two rooms for one night. The pool was great on a hot night. The air conditioner was loud like and airplane when it kicked on. Biggest problem was trying to check out. No one at the desk, rang bell several times. I found out that there was one employee. She was cooking breakfast and manning the desk. Impossible task for one person; she was doing the best she could. Will stay somewhere else next time.

As I said prior the shower heads were bad, AC needes fixed, tv volume was bad, eating area way to small and some food was stale and under or over done. eating area needs to be bigger and food was 2/5. STaff was very nice and friendly.

This was the only hotel we could find for Firefly weekend so we were a little worried as to why they were still available. Overall, the hotel wasn't bad, just definitely needs some updating. The staff was accomodating and the rooms were clean. The continental breakfast wasn't great but not the worst either. Sausage, eggs, potatoes were good but most of the bread items including the cereal were stale(ish). Outdoor pool was ok and there was lounge chairs and tables set up to hang out at. They were in the middle of doing some renovations so there was workers and boxes everywhere but maybe thats a good thing. I'll probably try another hotel next time but I'd stay here again if need be. They also gave us a Wifi code but we could never connect to it so just used our data which was slow for some reason.

Needed a place to stay in Dover. Convenient location near Route 1. Small pool but refreshing in the summer heat. Breakfast is in included and lots of options to choose from. Overall it is a really good value. Would stay here again when coming back to Dover.

Overbooked and staff wasn't helpful to resolve issue. It took over five phone calls to fix problem. Many people got involved and continued to get a run a round response. Not a very clean hotel and not updated.

All the staff seem to go out of their way to make your stay enjoyable even if it not their exact job they make sure your well taken care of and that you every need is addresses from extra towels to a good place to eat.

After reading some of the more recent reviews, decided to give this a shot, and glad we did! We booked way in advance for NASCAR race weekend at a low rate and It was a great value. Asked to see room prior to checking in and Jeff was very accommodating. Room (109) had obviously been updated recently and turned out to be fine. Bed was comfy, everything worked, room was clean. Only had shampoo dispenser in shower and one bar of soap, but wasn't a problem for us since we bring own amenities with us. Going back again in the fall and will request room on non-highway side as it was a little noisy (but not awful). Coffee was decent, didn't eat breakfast but looked like standard hotel breakfast fare. No complaints here, recommend for an economical, comfortable stay.

Jeff at the front desk was awesome. Check in and check out were great as well as food places to eat. Hotel does need renovations: no elevator, loud A/C wall unit and fridge froze my food and microwave had a hard time heating said food. Close to Dover Downs Hotel and Dover International Raceway

there is a strong nasty smell in the room, it's supposed to be a non smoking room. I have to used my car air freshener and packets of coffee. The upholstery of the chairs at the breakfast area are so dirty.

A nice clean oasis with a pool right next to Dover Airforce place. Convenient and very reasonable prices for the area. My choice of place to stay in Dover. Breakfast was great in the Best Western tradition and internet works to keep work going.

I'll come back. Simple, quick, nice and clean. Everything was great. Coming back soon. Internet was a little slow but everything else was good. Everytime I came back to my room, it was clean and the bed was made with a fresh towels in the bathroom.

This hotel is awful. It looks like a crack den. Shady people walking around the parking lot. Broken down cars afoot. The water was a trickle, so a shower took forever. The window didn't shut correctly (1st floor) and the heat/AC was iffy. BAD BAD BAD.

I stayed at this site before, it's not bad place to stay. A little far from casino, but the prices isn't bad. Breakfast is ok, could me get little more selection, but they have gotten better over last couple years

My hotel room was robbed and no one did anything about it.this was the worst place ever the staff was lazy when I asked for extra pillows and blankets they said come down and get it my room was disgusting with cobwebs ,stains on lampshades pillows the size of a couch pillow and hard as a rock heater didn't produce heat just blew air and it was so loud you couldn't sleep plus the hallway smelled so bad from pot I have asthma and couldn't stand it.called corporate office and they said sorry nothing we can do .save your money and go somewhere else this place isn't fit for humans.

My husband and I were on a one nite getaway and decided to go to Delaware for the night. Stayed at this hotel and had a great stay. Easy access to all attractions. Will visit again.Staff was very helpful and check in went smoothly. We usually try to stay at BW hotels when we travel and haven't had a bad experience yet.They have a great rewards system in which we used a voucher for this trip. Had no problems at all.

Hotel was easy to find although it was off the highway. Clean rooms. A king bed, small table with 2 chairs, fridge, microwave and flat screen TV. Breakfast was included. Although powdered eggs, boiled potatoes and not too crisp sausage. The rest of breakfast was usual, coffee, juice, bagels, etc. They did have something I did not see before, and automatic pancake maker. Pancakes were not bad. The hotel also had the sink in the bathroom. I prefer this than the sink in the hallway. But it meant no counter space for toiletries. I also liked the breakfast area being right inside near our room. No walking outside. No lounge area. An outdoor pool. An indoor gym.

King size bed was very uncomfortable to sleep in. Found that the pillows were very small and soft. Breakfast was disappointing as a number of items were low or unavailable. No elevator to second floor. Room was clean.

The room was very good, especially for the price charged. Only 10 minutes from Dover Downs and very easy to get there. Originally we were scheduled for 2 queen beds and we were able to upgrade to a king bed.

We stayed at Best Western for a Nascar Race last weekend. These folks are fantastic. We asked for extra towels, extra pillows etc and they NEVER complained and went out of their way to make our stay comfortable. The place has great breakfast for free. Its very close to other amenities in Dover and we wi return again for the race next year.

OK visit. In the parking lot of a strip mall, so couple of places to eat and a grocery store, which helps. Decent stay, AC could have been cooler, and parking was a little tight, but would probably return. Next to freeway, so pretty loud.

The front desk staff was very professional, friendly, and provided me the information I requested. The breakfast was so good, delicious, and the breakfast room was clean. The wait-up call was on time and with courtesy. The check-out was so easily and quickly. Definitely, I will visit this hotel again and recommend it to my friends.

First impressions are everything. We arrived after dark and there wasn't a single outside light on. If we hadn't already booked and paid we would have driven across the road to the competition. The room was ok. The corridors had a strong funky smell. The sheet on the bed was stained and had dirty marks from the previous occupant. The front desk was happy to replace the sheet, but I had to go get it and put it on myself, not what I expected. Breakfast is served 6-10. We got to the breakfast room at 9am. They were out of hot food, out of plates, and no staff member to be found. Fortunately McDonald's is next door. Overall the cleanliness and customer service level was what I'd expect at a $45 a night motel. I expected a lot better at $113 a night! First time I'd stayed at a Best Western in America, and the last too.

We went there for one night and: -The wifi was not working -The breakfast was poor (with zero healthy options like fruits or yogurts) -This is a "smoke-free" hotel but you can smell people smoking all over the hallways and from your room. This was really disgusting. -Cleanliness: The bathroom tiles were dirty, the rest of the room looked clean. -Staff: Apathetic I would rather to not come back.

Couldn't locate the hotel in the evening because the front was not lit. Check-in was extremely slow. Staff appeared that she would rather be somewhere else. Only two bath towels for a room with four occupancy. Walk-ways to second floor smelled. Hall-ways also smelled and very dark. Breakfast was really small.

I was heading north from the Carolinas to New England and stopped at this Best Western out of sheer fatigue only. The room was fine, everything very average. I used to like to stay at BW for their included breakfasts but food in a bag is not much more appealing than fast-food.

comfortable, clean, excellent service the pool was amazing. very close distance to Delaware State university and many restaurants and stores. The casino also a short drive away. if you planning to visit your kids in any of the Delaware collages this affordable place to stay.

The place is old, never updated, poor lighting. I didn't even feel comfortable getting a shower because of the condition of the tub. The front desk and the maintainance man that I got into a conversation were both nice. The housekeeper left our door open with our belongings inside. She left the door ajar with the security latch keeping the door from closing. She was not even in the hallway or in site yet our door was open. This is a big issue in itself but even bigger because I read reviews after I checked out that at least 2 clients had a problem with theft in the hotel. I usually stay at Best Western Plus hotels only on occasion do I stay at a regular Best Western. I couldn't find a Plus in the area we were staying so I settled for the B.W. Galaxy. I wanted to use my travel cards from best western before they expired, so I stayed there one night. The cost was $95. After we left I went across the street to the Microtel and so wished we had stayed there. It was so very nice, clean and excellent staff and only $65 a night.

All employee of the hotel are friendly. The guest room is clean and comfortable. Breakfast is excellent. There are plenty of food items available for breakfast. The location of hotel is excellent. There are several restaurants nearby within walking distance. The beautiful beaches are easy to access. There are lot of historic places, museums and beautiful state parks for visiting.

The staff was so warm and friendly. The continental breakfast was healthy with many options. They also had a pancake maker which was really cool. The rooms were very clean and comfortable with fast wifi! Everything was also at a great price. I highly recommend it!

I had arrived at the hotel late- around 2am. The manager at the front desk was extremely charming and kind. She gave me all the information I needed to know with a friendly demeanor. She offered a wake-up call and the next morning I received one. She also offered a late check-out due to the fact that we had arrived so late at night. The room-keeping service was also very respectful of this late check out. Overall, very clean and kind environment. Staff was extremely nice. Beds, sheets, and pillows were comfortable. The bathroom was clean and the amenities worked well. The shower had good water pressure and had a range of temperatures; it was not finicky at all. Breakfast was great. Even though we arrived to breakfast 10minutes before the ending time, there was plenty of hot food. No one bothered us when we stayed at breakfast after closing time.

housekeeping was terrible - never replaced the towels, never made the beds - it was almost as if they never visited once. By the fourth day, we were using bedsheets to dry ourselves because they never gave us new towels. Breakfast was subpar. When we made the reservation, the front desk promised us that there were airport shuttles and shuttles to the Firefly music festival, but no such shuttle existed and even just the public transportation buses required almost a mile of walking to get to, so we ended up taking cabs everywhere. Would not have chosen this hotel if we knew this would be the case.

Stayed at this location again for Firefly. I think it's a great spot away from the big crowd and traffic of the festival. The staff has always been very friendly and helpful, and the breakfast was the perfect fill up for spending the day in the sun. The beds and pillows are comfortable, much needed after a long day.

Worst BW we have stayed in. Dirty stairway, doors, room. No counter space in bathroom, fortunately soap was provided but no shampoo etc. Consolation was that at least the sheets were clean and the bed was comfortable. We were glad this was a one night stay and we were happy to leave. Also overpriced for all this.

Hotel meets the needs of the traveler for overnight or an extended stays. There are enough amenities for a comfortable stay at reasonable price. On negative note the room we were in faced the highway and road noise was annoying.

If you are a noisy, barking dog, you will be delighted with the amenities and the constant action as humans move away from your cozy room. Barking at every noise is lots of fun. My neighbor asked to be moved. She was upset because she was given a new room after she had settled in and nobody at the hotel helped her move. She then passed by my room again to complain that the new room had insufficient air conditioning. All her fault, because the room next to me had a great A/C. Apparently the front desk "fixed" it, but the big human complained the next morning that the fix only worked for a while. This dissatisfied human said the wi-fi was spotty and the doors to the outside didn't work properly with the room key. She seemed to like the breakfast because she was there a while eating scrambled eggs and potatoes and drinking orange juice. I'm not really sure why the human didn't like the place, because I found the BW delightful and barked my pleasure quite often.

Poor ac unit could not keep up with the the heat in room 226 (for some reason it was hotter in the room than outside and I'm not trying to be funny). Very low water presser. Friendly staff. I might have seen a hooker in the lobby, hard to say these days.

This hotel had the quietest rooms I have ever stayed in. To test it, I turned the TV up too loud and went into the hall. A step or two to either side of the door and the sound was gone. Great place to get undisturbed rest. Great hot breakfast too.

We were looking for a reasonable price on an overnight stay in Dover that was a good location for visiting the numerous wildlife attractions in the area. The Best Western was centrally located for this. Accomodations were above average for the price we paid. Staff was pleasant and the bed was excellent. The internet was a bit ragged but adequate. The breakfast was enough to keep us from going to MacDonalds

I have an excellent experience and very comfortable stay in this hotel for my Dover Day Trip. The breakfast is excellent. The items and varieties of foods are plentiful. The room is clean. All employees are very friendly and professional. I would highly recommend this hotel to all my friends.

The hotel is old, dirty and staff is not friendly. Beds are very hard. I asked before check in if the beds were soft and was told yes. After I went to the room I came back down and told the desk I could not sleep on a hard bed they refused to refund my money. I paid 99.00 for 2 1/2 hours. Stay clear.

This hotel is located conveniently to Dover. It is an older property but very clean, the rooms are well insulated so it is quiet, and the staff is VERY friendly. It has a fitness room, a pool, and free Wi Fi.

But after leaving the reception area, I just felt the hotel was not well kept. There was a discarded washcloth in the hall and some discarded paper, some of the wallpaper showed glue at the seams, and our faucet's drain plug was broken. I just got the feeling the cleaning staff didn't inform the management of the room's needs or management didn't care.

This is a pretty good place to spend the night. Check in and out is fast and east. Staff is friendly enough. Room was clean and had what you needed for your stay. The bathroom needs to be lit a little better, the shower area is kind of dim. We had a room on the road side of the hotel and the cars are quite noisy. Sounded like motorcycle races a couple of times. A few places to eat are close by. I would stay here again.

Friendly, clean and comfortable hotel. For the price I don't think you will get a better deal in the Dover area. Many excellent restaurants are a short walking distance. Also running/walking trails are nearby.

This is a great place to stay. Friendly and helpful staff, clean rooms, good breakfast, great value. The rooms are comfortable. It's a place I'd recommend to anyone. Out of all the places in Dover, DE I've stayed while on my trip this is by far the best for price.

I'm so glad I found this place...I'll be staying again. In fact, I stayed for the 2nd time on my return trip. It's right off the 1. I often stop in Dover but this is the best value I've found (I got an AAA or AARP discount here, I forget which, so it was a great deal)...very nice rooms, very clean, comfortable beds, quiet, and I love that they have a laundry...I always seem to have something on the outbound trip that didn't get washed before I left...and since I don't have a washer/dryer in my apartment, I am developing the habit of washing all my travel clothing at my last stop before returning home. This place only has one coin operated washer and dryer, but so far I've never had to fight for it! They have a pretty big buffet for breakfast that would satisfy most people (although none of it is on my specialized diet so I can't report on taste!) I've interacted with several folks at the front desk and without exception they were delightful. Looking forward to coming back! (And it's very close to a Wawa for cheap gas!)

The rooms are clean. The stay was pleasant. The staff was helpful. Breakfast -- Sausage was pork, would have preferred turkey. Did not like the powder eggs for breakfast. The coffee was good and my family liked the cereal. I would stay there again. The price was right .

I went to get away for the weekend. It was clean, decent, no bugs, no previous smoker in the room, and hot water for a shower. There was a small fridge and microwave. I did not use either but glad they were there in case I needed them. It was a very good value for the money.

Every employee was quite friendly and had quality, efficient service. I enjoyed the free wi-fi and the continental breakfast was delicious. Free parking and located in a quiet area. I'm glad there was a great Italian restaurant nearby. I look forward to staying here again.

We were traveling home from NYC and our car broke down late on a Sunday so we stayed overnight while our car got fixed. There were 5 of us and they only allowed 4 in the room but understood our situation and let us all stay in one room. First of all the price was cheap. I wasn't expecting much. Suprisingly the room was clean and very updated. Beds were comfy. Free breakfast was worth paying for. Sausage, eggs, potatoes, pancakes, sausage gravy, donuts, oatmeal, cereals, juices, and coffee. Check out was 11 but we were still waiting for our car so they let us check out at noon. We were still waiting on the car so they let us hang out in the breakfast area where there was a tv till we got the call around 1:30. Staff was fantastic. From the desk clerks to the maid service and maintenance men all were very nice. There was a McDonald's, Chinese food, and a pizza place right next door. Down the road just a few minutes drive was everything else under the sun from dining and shopping to the huge Dover mall. If we ever come back for a Nascar Race or the Casino we'll definitely book this Best Western again.

I booked this hotel for Thanksgiving weekend. The hotel was clean, quiet, conveniently located to shops and restaurants. The staff was extremely helpful. The hotel breakfast was adequate and the high speed internet was quick. Each room came with a combo mini fridge, freezer, and microwave so I was able to enjoy Thanksgiving leftovers!!

service was great as usual i only will stay at the best western at this location in my area which results when i travel where i will stay at. the staff was great and pleasant respectful joking with us and very helpful in everything.

We stayed at the Best Western Galaxy in Dover, De. We would not only stay there again but we would reccomend it to weary travelers anywhere. The room was clean,, the bed comfortable, and the breakfast was better than most.

Room 110: switch & socket didn't work, carpet dirty, window on 1st floor unlocked, sewage smell from DE river, bedskirt dirty, bolsters dirty, long hair in clean bed, dust on lamps, hallway dirty, we slept in our clothes. Business & Personal: WiFi was not great.

I enjoyed myself, great staff, clean rooms great price! I stayed for 2 nights and the stay was awesome. I would definitely come back again when in Dover. Free breakfast was included and Robert went over and beyond and gave us a room on the lower level to accommodate my handicap aunt who could not do the stairs.

Good location and very clean and staff very friendly and helpful and I felt very safe in the area with the lights and the security in the area. The breakfast was good and area very clean and the lady working very friendly and helpful with working the pan cake machine that I had never seen before at any of the hotels I have stayed in the past year.

My husband and I stayed for the October Dover NASCAR weekend. Check-in/out was a breeze. Our king / jacuzzi room was spacious, clean and comfortable. Our only complaint is that the water pressure was not good in the shower/tub or the toilet. The complimentary hot breakfast was good; it included scrambled eggs, sausages, potatoes, waffles, plus the usual continental breakfast foods. The breakfast lady was very was pleasant and attentive; she fixed the waffle machine when it misbehaved, kept everything stocked and even filled our coffee cups and took care of our dirty dishes when we were finished. Please give her a gold star! It was convenient to have a McDonald's right across the parking lot. The location was great...less than five miles from the speedway and tons of places to shop and eat.

This was a nice hotel, nice staff, and a good location for the City of Dover, Delaware. Parking was convenient. The breakfast was adequate. I would use this motel again when I am in Dover and I think that the positive, caring attitudes of the staff make the stay very enjoyable and pleasant.

The bathroom arrangement with the sink in with the tub and toilet is awkward for family travel. The hall was very SMOKY smelling - ugh! We put towels at the base of our door since the smell was terrible in the hallway. It was clean except for the ants on the bed and on the table. For the price, we were disappointed in the quality.

lost room reservation, didn't do anything to accomodate. tried to overcharge on the remaing rooms, horrible smoke odor in the building. A/C had to be turned off all night as a loud humming noise wouldn't stop despite trying everything. didn't receive the wake up call. food in a low lit, dark little room and isn't good at all. unfriendly customer service.

The room was OK but really too expensive for such a plain hotel. No real amenities to speak of. I would choose another hotel. I'm not sure that I would have felt totally comfortable had I been staying alone.

Fine stay as part of a birding weekend focused on Bombay Hook nearby. This is a serviceable hotel, located outside the gates of Dover AFB. Staff kindly mailed me the cell phone charger I'd left behind; this kind of service and follow-through is much appreciated!
