« GREAT Hotel for the price! »

I was a bit skeptical about this hotel and only picked it for the location (it was right across the street from a venue my husband was attending), but I was very pleasantly surprised by just about everything this hotel offers. The room was fantastic, the kids LOVED their bedroom up in the isn't very often you get a 2 story hotel room! The rooms are updated, very clean, and offer wonderful amenities (Wolfgang Puck coffee!). The free breakfast was fantastic, pool & hot tub area is perfect to lounge around, and the staff is extremely friendly and helpful. It was also very quiet & peaceful. An added bonus is that it's directly next to THE BEST pizza place in the country! We will definitely stay here again when we are in town.

« Dog friendly and clean »

We were pleasantly surprised to find this dog friendly hotel. They have areas designated for the dogs. The rooms were generous in size, clean and opened up to the outside via a sliding door to allow us to tend to the dogs easily. We will stay here again.

« Clean but needs some maintenance »

We stayed here one night on our way back from Montana. The grounds are nice, and there has been some attempt to update the rooms, which were very clean. But the heater sounded like there was an aircraft taking off in our room - we had to shut it off it was so loud and the room got very cold as a result. Also, the shower gave me a scare - it suddenly got freezing cold and then scalding hot. Someone could get hurt using it. The lady at the front desk was very nice when I told her about these two issues, which hopefully will be fixed.

    « A Very Well-Maintained Inn »

Positive: This is an ancient yet very well-maintained inn. I was very impressed with the cleanliness. I checked under everything (chairs, beds, etc.) and it was spotless and 99.99% dustless. I also liked the courtyard style of the place, especially since there were security doors before entering the courtyard. Additionally, the check-out was speedy. Moreover, it is conveniently located near restaurants, gas stations, a drive-thru coffee shop, grocery stores and a river beach park. Negative: The hotel staff were kind. However, I was annoyed with how long it took to check-in. I arrived before the phone rang so I do not know why I was entertained AFTER the lengthy phone conversation with someone who made a reservation. I guess it is a little difficult for one person to try to please both customers, but I was still annoyed. I needed to get ready for an event in Pullman and every minute mattered to me. Next time, the front desk attendant could just give the paperwork for the car information before answering the phone. I firmly believe that situation could have been handled better without wasting my time and losing the potential customer on the phone. Despite the hiccup with the check-in process, everything else went smoothly.

    « Little privacy »

We stayed at BW for two nights. First, the good: reasonable price, friendly people, good breakfast. The not so good: each unit has two doors connecting with the unit next door - that was a big minus for me. I could not fall asleep in the loft since I could hear the loud tv in the next room with the smoke coming thorough the door gap and rising up. I don't know if that gives them more flexibility for big groups, but I would wall them up for better sound insulation and yes, privacy - we kept wondering if they are locked or not. The sliding door leads to a balcony that, again is not yours, since it is open to the hallway and the next unit. I would close the hallway access and put up a balcony divider between the units. In early morning we realized that our toddler snicked out through the sliding door and was wondering in the hallway - this layout is not my favorite. The stench from the paper mill nearby hits you pretty hard in the morning when you head for breakfast, granted not their fault.

Motel is not transparent about pet fees: $20 per dog said the desk when I called & that's what's on the website. In reality, it is $20 per pet per night. A 3 night stay resulted in $120 extra charges on the bill. Very clean with nice small grass area for pets - breakfast is above average and there is a school field for a dog romp at the end of the block.

« Great place to stay! »

Older hotel kept in mint condition! Staff super nice. Breakfast great. Matresses typical hotel which means not as comfy as home. :) But room was clean and well kept. Hot tub was clean & well stocked with towels. Bathroom had plenty of towels & amenities. We had a room with a loft and it was awesome. WiFi worked perfect. Good value for the price. Would stay again if I were in the area.

« Great first time stay »

Great stay for basketball tournament in Asotin. Wish they had an indoor pool but otherwise the location, hotel and amenities were great. Will definitely use this hotel again and recommend to others without a doubt.

    « Nice, Clean & Convenient »

Nice hotel and great location! Close to highway & restaurants. We came to town to pick up supplies for our cabin in WA. Was a nice place to also meet up with relatives for dinner at a nearby restaurant.

« Very clean and Such nice people »

My Wife Sam and I come to the Lewiston Clarkston area every year to visit and enjoy the warmer weather. I found this place on the computer and gave it a try. Best thing I ever did. Stormy was our first contact when I called for reservations and when I mentioned my wife not walking very good she put us in a great room we could drive right to the door. She was as nice in person as she was on the phone making sure the breakfast was just right and plenty of food. There was a light out above are door and maintenance had if fixed in a second. Rooms were quiet and clean and well supplied. Not one thing we could find wrong and the Price was very good all so. All so the drain handle on the tub was loose and that was fixed with in an hour all so and Maintenance staff was so polite and friendly. Did I say a different breakfast every day with plenty of side dishes. Waffle with tons of strawberries and whip cream LOL. And free too.

« Old property, but very clean with excellent staff »

Upon first glance of the hotel is does not look like you typical best western. I willing to bet it was an older hotel and Best Western bought the property. In fact when our GPS brought us to the location we all said "That's a Best Western?". Although it may be outdated on the outside the hotel was very clean and the staff were excellent. We were pleasantly surprised when we got into the room and saw the spiral staircase up into the loft. Our daughter loved it! The breakfast was simple and tasty and the eating area was very clean. All the hotel staff were very friendly and helpful and made our stay very enjoyable.

    « Pinch on Privacy »

Pleasant stay - staff helpful and friendly; rooms clean, quiet and spacious; breakfast gets a 10/10 , - good variety, especially the hot items, and well presented. 3 comments: no net curtains on patio doors opening onto walkway, so privacy an issue. Either one has to have the drapes pulled at all times, or be open to the 'world' walking by. Hot tub in outside building, with no changing rooms, so not sure how one gets back to their room in wet bathers in the middle of winter? Shame, as so clean and inviting, but only saw one brave person using it, no doubt due to this reason. Disappointingly, we were not that brave. And bring your own pillow!

    « Family stay »

Great place to stay, beds were hard which I don't like, that's my only complaint. Hot tub was nice, rooms were clean.. breakfast was your standard breakfast. Pool was closed for winter. They worked with me to get my second night paid with points which was super cool for them to go out of there way and fix that.

« Best Western River Tree Inn »

Nice hotel and great location! Close to highway & restaurants. We came to town to pick up supplies for our cabin in WA. Was a nice place to also meet up with relatives for dinner at a nearby restaurant.

« Right on the main road »

This hotel was very old and our room was right on the main road of Clarkston. We could open the glass slider and step out onto the sidewalk. In one way this was a plus in that we could unload our luggage right into the room and when it was time to leave we pulled the car right outside the door to load it.

    « Pet-friendly, clean and very affordable! »

We stayed here over Thanksgiving and needed a place that would allow dogs. Well not only did they allow them, they even handed us a doggy bag when we checked in which included treats, toys and poop bags. Our room was clean and comfortable and set up perfectly for pet owners (hardwood floors, outside access, etc.). The price was definitely right too, especially for a holiday weekend. Highly recommended for anyone visiting the area with their pups!

« nice affordable place to stay »

We love this Best Western. It is affordable, clean and it has a great breakfast. It has an outdoor pool and a hottub, which is kept in clean condition. The staff is helpful and friendly and they go out of their way to assist.

« Best Western RiverTree Inn, Clarkston »

This is a very clean, enjoyable place to stay and convenient to get to in Clarkston, WA. We enjoyed the people who checked us in and out very much. The breakfast was very substantial and hot too. Almost anything you could want and it was there.

« nice hotel, just a couple problems »

This hotel overall was very nice- we slept comfortably. The bathroom fan didn't work, and the furniture was a bit dusty, but not terrible. We have been a little leary of the Best Western, having experienced some really bad ones in the past, but the brand seems to be picking things up and the improvement is noticeable.

    « Just like family »

Wonderful staff, clean, quiet rooms. Also they have special accommodations for pet owners. They have a good quality breakfast with lots to choose from. Near several restaurants that offer a verity of foods.

« Much better than expected »

I Stayed here for wsu Dad's Weekend after waiting too long to book something in Pullman. When I pulled in late at night I was very discouraged. Seemed a tad dated and a bit run down. I was pleasantly surprised to find a very clean room and an amazingly comfortable bed. Very quiet during my 2 night stay. Once in my room it was very private and completely quiet. I slept amazing. I guess it goes to say you can't always judge a book by its cover. Very nice staff members also. Continental breakfast was better than most at this price point.

    « Exceptional service »

Jill is who i interact with at the front desk, she is always there and make sure that our rooms are good and ready.. everyone there is above and beyond exceptional would love to stay at all Best Westerns up and down the Columbia/Snake River

    « Not a Family Friendly place »

Although the Hotel has gone through a cosmetic overhaul, it is still an older hotel. The location is terrible! Across from a Casino off the main drag of town. It is NOT on River as the name would lend itself. Really not a good family place. No one at reception desk when we arrived in early evening, just a note saying they would be right back. There was a constant DRIP from the upstairs heater/A-C unit, dripping on out unit, noise enough to drive you batty. Cost for room vs accommodation is way off.

« Not the best option »

Staff was friendly and efficient. However, the toilet had floaters when we arrived. Ours was a very late arrival we chose not to request cleaning or a different room. Walls seem very thin. Normal conversation in adjacent rooms was very noticeable and interrupted sleep. Overall, the room was otherwise clean but somewhat dated.

    « will stay again »

Owner checked us very helpful. Room by pool , all rooms by pool, pool and towels very nice, room full of all amenities. Breakfast was great I would definitely stay here again, if we were in the area. Will actually check out other BW on our trip.

    « My stay »

1st three nights I didn't get to sleep until 1:00 am, because the hwy outside the hotel was being dug up and repaved. The food and service was good. 1 day I never got the wakeup call I requested 1 day the breakfast food and drink at 6:05 am was empty ( I complained to staff about both).Staff was helpful showing me map and l\\city locations. Nice rooms, no noisy neighbors, good bed, plenty of room. Good value for the money.

« A Great Place to Stay and an Excellent Staff »

The staff of this hotel went out of their way to provide excellent service. We arrived very early at the hotel and they had a room ready for us in a very short time. We needed some supplies and other items and they gave us clear and concise directions on where to go to purchase the items we needed. I highly recommend this hotel.

    « Welcoming staff »

We arrived at nearly 1 am after a 3 overtime football game in Pullman. The staff was very cheerful for that hour. The room was clean and spacious. We had a good breakfast before heading home. The entire staff was very friendly and helpful.

    « Fishing trip »

Room was clean and full of amenities. Staff were helpful and courteous. We booked a room with 2 queens up and 1 queen down and got a room with 2 fulls down and 1 full up. We didn't realize it until we went to bed so we did not discuss it with staff. Full breakfast served at 5am was great as we needed to be at the dock at 5:45 am for fishing.

    « Love it. »

Love this place. The staff is great and so are the rooms. The outside appearance of the hotel might look a tad dated to some, but I promise you, the rooms are some of the best I've seen for the $. I had a spiral staircase in my last room that lead to a loft with a third bed. So awesome.

    « A special place »

Special rates if you are doing a snake excursion very early breakfast to accommodate the snake tour nice pool HOT tub family loft rooms cookies offer newspaper etc etc a very nice experience in every way

    « Very Nice Stopover »

Our stay was an overnight stop en route to Idaho. We chose this hotel because it was close to the main thoroughfare and in close proximity to services. The desk staff was extremely friendly and helpful, even with our later evening arrival. Our rooms were clean, the beds comfy and the waffles appreciated. With the late arrival parking was a little challenging and there was a faint odor around the pool, but those would be the only quirks.

    « Happy »

I booked and paid for the room on the phone through some booking co. of some kind. So we had no idea about the place. We were more than happily surprised! We loved the place! It doesn't really look like it from the outside but the rooms and pool area are beautiful! Also the beds are super comfortable! I would love to come back and stay again!

    « Very disappointed »

Was recommended by local college to stay here and very disappointed. Staff were not helpful. Was told at check in that cash is not allowed to pay for the rooms. At check out staff couldn't explain to me why I was charged two different rates for my two nights stay and no one would correct it. Found trash on the floor of my room.

    « Enjoyable »

Stayed there before and always a joy to re-visit, staff is friendly and very helpful. The area is nice with the Snake river close by and excellent restaurants like Tomato Bro's close. I would recommend to anyone who plans on visiting the area too stay at the Best Western River Tree Inn.

    « Stay at Clarkston »

Overall very good. Breakfast room much too small accommodate guests - Could not even get in for one breakfast! For what I have always considered a very good hotel, all of the movie channels were blocked and we did not use the TV during our down time because the only thing available was game shows and sit-coms with laugh tracks. Not acceptable

    « Highly Recommend »

We arrived late, but were greeted by name and with a smile. The lobby was clean, and the front office staff friendly. We didn't get a chance to use it, but walked past the pool and hot tub, and they were clean and inviting. Our room was a double queen, it was upstairs. It featured one bed on the main floor, and a loft with the second bed. This allowed some privacy between the two beds which isn't usually available unless you pay far more for a suite. There were extra amenities like qtips in the bathroom. Beds were comfortable and bedding quality. The TV remote was sealed in a bag... A nice touch as who knows what germs those things really hide. Complimentary breakfast far exceeded the usual, and included fresh scrambled eggs, waffles, toast, bagels, a variety of fruit an yogurt. There was even almond milk available for anyone who is dairy free. Really liked our stay!

« great place to stay »

Excellent Place to Stay Recommended great Eating place. Very helpful with check in and check out Would highly recommend it Great Breakfast, quiet and clean rooms close to everything Food was well prepared in the breakfast area

    « Excellent stay »

Excellent front desk service - very friendly and efficient staff. Reasonable rate and no resort tax which is great. An outdoor pool, hot tub and courtyard were nice. The rooms were spacious and clean; air conditioner a little noisy but bed and pillows were very comfy. Morning breakfast had a good variety of choices. This is our second time at this BW hotel and will definitely stay again if we are in this area.

    « Excellent Service »

This was my second year staying here. Staff are always welcoming and friendly! Rooms are clean and comfortable. When I stayed It was 104 degrees outside, so it was nice to relax in a cool AC room! Great price! Tasty breakfast :-) I would recommend this hotel

« Great Place To Stay »

We came for a concert and got great care by the entire staff at Best Western River Tree. These folks really care about you and your stay. The pool is beautifully maintained. The rooms are comfy and the pillows are the best. The continental breakfast was well done. The exercise room equipment was like new.

    « Average Hotel »

Room was clean and well equipped, however there was a musty odour in the room. Our room was located on second floor and people running past room is very noisy - it appears that most rooms have outside entrances and there is no elevator so be prepared to climb stairs. Hotel is easy to find and the Clarkston/Lewiston area is easy to navigate.

« I've stayed in this hotel many times and it's always a pleasure except when the baseball kids are there. the employees »

The best. I'll be back for sure. The breakfast was first class, the bed was very good and the pool was clean and well maintained. Really nice after a long hot day on my motorcycle. I had very good dinner down the the road at Tomato Brothers restaurant.

« Dog Friendly Best Western Clarkston - Only three rooms for pets »

Good hotel for dogs: Only three rooms available for pets Sliding glass door has access to outside dog run The floor in the room is a hard surface -not carpet and easy to keep clean These rooms are set up to clean the room with pets in mind and they charge $20.00/night for this service. It is nice to have a room that has served pets in the past and feel that the room is clean... Many of the Hotel Room Web Sites indicate it is dog friendly hotel but unfortunately do display there are only three rooms. Recommend you call the hotel directly at 509-758-9551 to make sure a room is available that allows you to bring your pet...

« Quality For atheist Price »

This hotel has a decent price and location. The room were clean & it offers a variety of room setups. The lofts in many of the rooms was unique to my experience and I liked it. The breakfast was ok and my group was able to find what they liked.

    « Very Slow WIFI »

Very slow WIFI: Unusable except for basic email, or news sites. Water flow in sink and shower slower than desired. Could not find any movie channels on TV, but signal quality is good. Could not find channel list; you could spend an hour searching for your favorite channels. My room window had view of pedestrian aisle, so the curtain remained closed all the time.

« Ever had the desire to sleep on 2" of antique foam and cardboard? Then sleep here and your desire will come true! »

This was by far one of the worst places I've ever tried to sleep in! Avoid the suite entirely, total rip off, you can't sleep on the so called sofa bed and they'll still charge you the next day! The manager really doesn't care what your complaints are, you'll still pay for it!

    « Older hotel, comfortable »

This BW was located on US12 just across the river from Lewiston, Id. There are no elevators so it was a struggle get my luggage up the stairs. The room was dark, had a metal spiral staircase going up to second bed room area right by the door and blocking the way to the bathroom. You had to duck . The air worked well, keeping the room cool.

    « A Good Quality Motel »

I called the BW Rivertree after cancelling on sight another motel in the area. They had rooms available and the woman on the phone was very pleasant. She even apologized that the first motel was substandard but was very accommodating to assure that we were happy with our rooms. The breakfast had a good variety and the attendant kept things topped up and tidy. We would definitely stay here again if we're in the area.

    « A Great Place to Stay »

This hotel had wonderful accommodations that made our one night stay exceptional. The personnel were very friendly and helpful. The room was spacious with two suitcase stands (unheard of in today's hotels). The bathroom counter was large enough for two at a time. The WiFi worked well without lots of waiting time. The room was very comfortable and nicely appointed. We would absolutely stay there again.

« Little outdated, but cosy »

Familiar with the 'Best Western-concept' this hotel offers what you may expect from it. Nice and friendly staff. Central pool (under construction, while we were there). Good, spacious and clean room and bathroom. Breakfast according to the regular concept, which means: hot and cold stuff. Short by dinner possibilities.

    « Nice stay »

Staff was very friendly. Room had some dog hair still on the floor and the water pressure was terrible. Food was good. Pool was nice and location was convenient. Good price. I would stay here again. Nice area.

    « clean, comfortable, dated »

Clean rooms and good breakfast made for a good stay and well served the purpose so we could golf and jet boat. Facility is a on the older side and decor is dated but the space was clean and welcoming - clean pool area too.

« Quick trip with a good choice made! »

My daughter had a test at the college in Clarkston. So I went online to find a hotel with decent rates and reviews who also offered a complimentary full breakfast. I chose Best Western Rivertree Inn and am very glad that I did! Located off the main road is easy to find with ample parking. The facility is clean everywhere....parking lot, lobby, pool and rooms. Crisp and clean with pleasant employees. The breakfast is nice with several options. I hope I have a reason to visit Clarkston again and I know I will stay at the Best Western on Bridge Street!

    « Better Best Western »

Yeah, they're all the same and they're all pretty good. Best Westerns are very consistent. But occasionally you run into one that stands out, and this one does. All sorts of little niceties, like real glasses and plates instead of paper, bigger room, nicer decor, better shower head, better desk, nicer bed - taken individually, maybe it's inconsequential stuff, but it adds up. Plus a staff that was endlessly helpful with all sorts of questions and requests. I've stayed at dozens of Best Westerns and they're all a blur in my mind, but this one I'll remember.

    « sight seeing »

Front desk gave wonderful advice for dinner - just across the street. Bed was comfortable, room was clean - older building but clean . Close to good food. On our way to Idaho to sight see. Probably never stay there again - more of a fun/family trip.

« Place to stay before going over Lolo Pass »

A good place to spend the night if you ride a motorcycle and are heading east from Seattle over Lolo Pass. Hotel is right on the main highway just west of downtown Clarkston. Many motorcyclist stay here.

    « Pool closed »

Rooms was clean and hotel was centrally located. However the pool was closed and the pillows were very hard and fluffy (gave me a neck ache). The breakfast in the morning should of included more variety in the bagel/ muffin display.

    « road trip »

In spite of being on busy street the road noise could not be heard. The bed was comfortable with nice sheets and we had a good sleep after driving over 8 hours though mountain passes and winding roads. The motel was not as spiffy as other Best Westerns but it met our needs. The handicap room was dark when we entered and we had difficulty finding light switches. The bulbs could have been brighter. The room was clean but a carpet tear needed repair. The complimentary breakfast was adequate. I would have liked whole grain oatmeal rather than the packets as a breakfast choice and maybe healthier whole grain bread choices.

« Booked a suite this time , and it really was a suite! If I could give this seven stars I would! »

No problems , there was a fan in the sleeping room , which I love (worked Graveyard shift for many years and can hardly sleep with a fan!) Two TV's , fast internet connection , breakfast ready at 5 (Five!!) AM - With a tasty selection to choose from , and a big plus at this Best Western - Real Stainless flatware , real dishes , not the flimsy plastic crap that so many expect you to use! And , I bet it costs them little if any more than using the plastic flatware! A good night sleep , and as to the guest who didn't feel "Safe" , it's fripping Clarkston!!!

    « Clarkston trip »

Stayed at the Clarkston best western on business. Clean and affordable room, friendly and professional staff. The parking seemed a little limited and they could use a broader and healthier breakfast selection.

    « A friendly Best Western »

The staff was very friendly and helpful at check-in. They even told us about an awesome pizza place to eat right across the street and their recommendation was accurate! The pizza was amazing. The ground floor room we stayed in was convenient to parking so it was easy to take in our luggage. The room smelled musty when we first went in but we were able to air it out with the large sliding door that opened. The bed was comfortable, but the arrangement of the room was different and odd.

« On our way to Gold Beach OR »

We stayed in a "pet friendly" room that had such a stale odor I had to sleep with a scarf around my nose! There was no outside air unless we had left the sliding glass door (with no screen), open - which was not an option. The hotel is right next to the highway so very noisy.

« Stop along the way. »

On a trip to Moscow , we stopped here for the night. The hotel definitely shows signs of aging. The room we had had a very unique layout, with a loft and a main level. The staff was very friendly, and breakfast was normal hot breakfast fare, but had strawberries and blueberries.

    « Truck stop Motel »

Not for families, did not feel safe during my stay. poor location, terrible décor. the smell when the door to the room was open was old, dingy. furniture outdated. will not recommend. lots of noise from music (cars driving by). This is not a hotel, it is a truck stop motel.

    « Comfortable and Convenient »

I stayed at the Best Western in Clarkston, WA in January. The hotel was very comfortable and the breakfast was delicious. It was particularly nice to have a covered smoking area with ashtrays and chairs.

« Best Western is the best in Clarkston, WA. »

Had a great stay and excellent restaurant recommendations while staying at the Best Western RiverTree Inn in Clarkston, WA. The room was clean, stylish, inviting and comfortable very quite, so was able to get a good restful nights sleep.

    « Clarkson stay 10-2016 »

I always enjoy when my work brings me to clarkston ( usually once a year) The hotel is clean and the staff is friendly. I really appreciate that the breakfast is set up early in the morning as i need to be at work at 6:00 am. Thank you!

« Great Place to Stay »

The front desk staff was helpful and friendly. The room was very spacious and was a really quiet room. The hotel was convenient to other amendies (restraunts etc.) Staff was friendly and helpful. Would stay there again. Best Western Hotels never disappoint me and for road trips they are the best. The breakfast was great with a wide variety, since I have a restricted diet, I certainly had no problem finding something and enough to eat. We found the cookies and coffee available in the afternoon a bonus also.

    « A typical, older motel-type facility located in a commercial area »

We stayed here one night because it was very close to the departure point for a Hell's Canyon jet-boat tour that we were taking the next day. It is an older facility that apparently caters to the budget- minder traveller. Our room was on the inside of a courtyard, the center of which was a swimming pool. That was OK except the sliding glass door of our room was literally no more than 15 feet from the pool and on the afternoon we checked in there were two young kids using the pool and they were somewhat noisy. Fortunately they were only there for approx 2+ hours. This place also had a number of construction workers in residence (working on a major maintenance project at the local paper mill,l I learned) and those staying above us (a two-floor property) were up (and making noise) at 4:45 AM the next morning; not exactly the timetable that I was operating on, but then I learned that the free breakfast at this place started at 5:00 AM, so connect the dots. Not a place that I would choose for a return stay, but considering that the breakfast was pretty good (all the construction workers had been gone since 6:30 AM) and the one night cost was $109, I cant complain too loudly!

« Does everything you need a hotel to do! »

This is one of the older style Best Western's. It is kept very clean. The furnishings are a bit on the older side. Linens could use to be updated. The staff truly goes out of their way to be helpful. Breakfast is good enough. Hot and plentiful. Plenty of hot water. The price is low compared to the other hotels in the area. If comfort and cleanliness are what you are looking for, you will be very satisfied.

« Room Not Clean, Smoke alarm malfunctioned »

At 15 minutes after midnight, the battery in the smoke alarm malfunctioned and started beeping. Moved us to another room. Next morning, after I showered, walked across the floor and noticed the bottoms of my feet were black. Took the white washcloth and rubbed it on the floor, it was black. Floor hadn't been cleaned in weeks! Took it to the front desk and the clerk looked at the other clerk and stated "That's your department" Outside looked bad. Rooms dated, HVAC system noisy. Worst Best Western I've ever stayed in. It should not even be allowed to call itself Best Western, and I've been a BW Crown Member for about 30 years.

    « First Stay »

Employees were helpful and friendly. The room was clean. Breakfast area had a nice variety of foods including gluten free items on request for those with that need. We did not use, but they had a nice pool area with hot tub and pool side rooms available. Would definitely stay again.

This place was spotless. Bed was comfortable. A little road noise, but not bad. Did I say clean? We didn't go in the pool, but it looked very inviting. Better than average food selection for breakfast. And the staff were extremely helpfully and kind .

    « Love this place »

We were in Clarkson house hunting for 4 days and we found this motel more than exceeded our needs. The room had every convenience, including a spa tub. The breakfast was delicious, even biscuits and gravy! We will stay there again and recommend it to our friends.

« Perfect stop during hot camping trip »

Camping in May was surprisingly hot, so we stopped here on our drive from Idaho to BC, for laundry, a real bed, and air conditioning. All were provided! The parking was suitable for a truck with trailer. The hotel was scrupulously clean and we had a brief escape from the 98 F weather. I recommend this place to travellers with families (nice pool) and to people with big rigs (good parking).

« Not good at all »

We have been using Best Westerns for our recent road trip. Good rooms on most stops except for this one. We started with a 2nd floor room and then found out they have no elevator. The 1st floor room they gave us smelled bad. Our internet did not work. Our bathroom was dirty. DO NOT stay at this place.

    « Thursday Night »

An older BW that is clean, comfortable and good staff. The AC is horrible...but with it over 100, you had to have it on. Disappointed in the Breakfast compared to other BW's. Area to eat was to small and limited items again due to a small area. Had breakfast at a local place.

    « Better than expected »

Clean room, friendly staff, great breakfast. This is and older motel but is well maintained. The surrounding neighborhood looked a little dicey but we experienced no problems. There is also a great but kind of hidden Micro-Brew near-bye. *mattress due for replacement, had the taco bed effect.

    « Family Weekend »

We choose to stay here because it was close to the family we were visiting. My son enjoyed the pool and the breakfast. I was worried because our room was on the main floor facing the street. We had sliding glass door that opened. I thought it would be very loud from the traffic, but it wasn't. We all had a good night sleep both nights. I would stay here again. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

    « Worst Hotel of a 3 Week Trip »

Doing a 6 week trip around the country. Have been on the road 3 weeks and this is the worst hotel we have been in. Checked in and got a 2nd floor room. Could not find the elevator so stopped at the desk and we were told there wasn't one. We are 60, and getting luggage up and down to 2nd floor was not going to work. Front desk clerk reluctantly "found" us a room on 1st floor. Unfortunately that room smelled like a sewer. My guess is the carpet got wet at some point and should have been replaced. Since we had already complained about the 2nd floor we just lived with the smell by running the air conditioner a lot. It's an old in wall unit that is extremely loud, so that added to the fun of the stay. To top it off, could not get wi-FI connection in the room. It would connect but signal was so bad it would not load anything. All this for the price of a Marriott, which we would have booked if there was one in the area. Paid a high price for a roadside type motel room. Shame on you Best Western.

    « never again »

this place used to be very motorcycle friendly. not anymore. we've stayed here multiple times and always been accommodated. not this time! I made this reservation in January, asked for a room on the first floor near the pool where we could park our motorcycle outside. what we got was a second floor room as far away from the pool as possible. and on top of that, we had to wait 30 minutes while they cleaned the room. we will find somewhere else to stay if we come this way again. appears to have new owners who only care about how full they are.

« Great place to stay »

My son and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this Best Western. The hotel was in great condition and the staff was very helpful. We enjoyed the best breakfast and the pool was refreshing. I would definitely stay here again. This is a great value!

    « Nice, Quiet, Hotel »

Stopped here on our way back home. This is a pretty standard Best Western - nothing special, but the bed was comfortable and the room was clean and quite. Just what we needed. There's a small outdoor pool too, which was a lot of fun. The continental breakfast left something to be desired though.

    « Motorcycle trip »

I rolled into, Clarkston on a very hot afternoon, on my motorcycle. I was so glad to spot the Best Western sign. The desk staff was quite friendly and courteous, check-in was fast and easy, and Best Western offers a motorcycle discount. My room, #137, was super clean and I liked the way it was arranged. The spa tub felt good after a long hot day on the bike. The hotel is located close to a number of good eateries. I am a breakfast guy, and the breakfast here is great and has something for everyone. I spent the nights of the 27th and 28th of June there and will definitely stay there again!

« A nice place to stay in Clarkston »

We enjoyed our recent visit to this hotel with a large group of travelers. The hotel was clean and well maintained by the staff. The staff keeps a clean breakfast buffet, ample hot coffee throughout the day, a nice pool/indoor hot tub in a central courtyard and lots of parking. Laura at the front desk was very helpful, as was the Maintenance Manager and Cleaning Staff, all of which we got to know during our stay. The hotel is kid friendly and close to restaurants, golf, bowling and river activities. Thanks for hosting us!

    « Traveling »

Upscale, very nice walking distance to several eating places and a casino if you so desire. The simple room was like a suite, very helpful. Limited parking for our room, but was workable. Nice court yard with swimming pool.

« Great hotel for week stay »

Our little league baseball team and families stayed at this Best Western the past week. The hotel staff was terrific: very accommodating, supportive, and kept a sense of humor with 11 year olds running around the hotel and using the pool. They even let us use the breakfast room for an evening celebration for 25 people...much appreciated. The rooms were clean, breakfast was good, and it was a comfortable home for the week. Thanks for the great service!

« A good nights rest on business travel »

I stayed at BW Rivertree on 07/25 and found the staff to be very helpful and the bed very comfortable. It is a bit dated (actually a mix of old and new), but did have some good amenities: an outdoor pool, an in-room jacuzzi tub, and a pretty good breakfast (including make your own breakfast burritos, eggs, waffles, and biscuits and gravy, juice and coffee. Although the hotel is right on the main drag, I didn't hear any noise from the road. I'd stay there again.

« Best place to stay. »

My husband and I make a business trip to the Lewiston/Clarkston valley 10 months of the year, and always stay at the Clarkston BW. It is an older motel, but very well maintained. The employees are very friendly, and helpful. They have a great breakfast in the morning. Don't know of any other place we'd rather stay.

    « Deviation from quality »

The hotel definitely needs an upgrade in room decor, furnishings; bathroom tub/shower enclosure. Strong odor in room unfortunately probably from carpet/furnishings absorbing outdoor pulp-mill-like odor. Poor insulation from outdoor area too. Interesting room configuration with 3 double beds (1 in a loft accessible by spiral staircase). More worth a 2-star $70-80 room than in hundreds. The beds were comfortable but bugs were found in the room.

« Wonderful staff and hotel »

We came for a couple of days from Canada for a visit. From the moment we walked through the doors it was almost as if we hadn't left. The staff were easily the most friendly people we met on our trip to the states and did everything in their power to ensure we had a good stay. The managers Sara and Jason were so helpful and all of their recommendations for places to go and see were on point. It was almost as if we had a travel agent at our hotel. Rooms were clean and reasonably updated and it's clear that the staff care about the quality of your stay. Hot breakfasts instead of the regular continental were a wonderful touch and really gave us the motivation to go out and explore with a good start to the day. Would highly recommend this hotel for any persons stay in the area. It was a wonderful experience we hope to repeat. Really living up to the best western expectations! Thanks guys.

« Great Hotel, but in a run down part of town »

Helpful, friendly employees and clean, comfortable, large rooms. Nice pool area with a hot tub. The only downside is that the hotel is in a run down part of town with a rough looking casino across the street. Good breakfast for a small hotel.

« Better than most in town »

Although the city is getting a bit shabby, this hotel is managing to stay nice. Room was quite nice and the bed was delightful. Really enjoyed the pool. The pizza place next door was great. Lobby is a bit simple and some public space carpet/AstroTurf is getting shabby.

    « Clean & Comfortable »

We stayed here on a bicycle tour. The rooms and grounds were clean, comfortable, and well maintained. The staff was friendly. The breakfast was good. I would recommend this hotel as a good place to stay in Clarkston. I was a little surprised that our room cost more than a higher end room at a brand new Best Western Plus hotel in Dayton, Washington just the night before. I suppose that is related to higher demand in the larger town.

« Very Good Best Western »

We thought this was a good hotel. A typical Best Western. A good place to stay to drive around the area We were happy there. Very Large Room - very clean, Good Bathroom. Good Wi-fi, Comfortable bed. OK Breakfast

    « Considerate of motorcyclists »

The Rivertree Inn staff were fully on board with their motorcycle brand tie-in. I was asked to park my bike in a prominently visible spot up front, where it would be visible from the front desk all night. In the morning, another rider was parked nearby. The rooms are spacious, the bed comfy. Breakfast was available early (5:00 am), which I appreciated. Others have noted the property as old and it is, but well maintained and very clean.

    « Weeding stay »

We were in Clarkston for my daughters wedding and had numerous family members stay there as well. The staff was incredible and was able to work out all the cancellations, moving folks around and catering to our needs and changes. We could not have been happier with the price, surroundings and staff. We stay in numerous hotels over a given year, from New Orleans, Baton Rouge, Houston and Portland, but you will find a no better staff anywhere. For the price an GREAT deal!

    « Bitter Suite »

This is a dingy little place that is oversold on the Best Western website and is overpriced. The staff is nice and earnest (three cheers for Bill the super-friendly maintenance man who went out of his way to say hi to the kids and open the pool early!) but the product itself is not worth the price and is not up to the standards you might expect from Best Western generally. Most especially, do not be tempted by the lure of "suites" which are billed as "unique loft rooms" suitable for families. These are priced virtually the same as other suites in normal hotels in town and in neighboring Lewiston, but they are not what they sound like. The "loft" is a cramped, treacherous and rarely cleaned little shelf with no room to stand up unless you're four years old and small for your age. It is reached by a narrow and steep spiral staircase of black steel, which greets you the moment you open the door to the room (the staff has helpfully placed pipe insulation tubes around the edges so you won't crack your skull on it when you walk in unawares). This all seems like it was shoehorned together as a sorry attempt to sell these rooms as suites suitable for families, and it is priced as if it might be a legitimate "suite." It is not. It is a jungle gym with a double bed on top. Small kids may get a kick out of it, but Mom and Dad's value-o-meter will definitely not. This is essentially a substandard motel not unlike any rundown Motel 6 or the like. The walls are paper thin so the sound of the neighboring guests' TV and resultant guffaws kept us up late. There is very little water pressure in the shower, thanks to one of those cheap low-flow shower heads that scream "we care more about our bottom line than your comfort." The sliding glass door in our second-story "suite" opened onto a common exterior walkway that is a busy thoroughfare around the interior courtyard and pool area, so you can't open your curtains lest you become a zoo exhibit for the staff and other guests, one of whom actually stopped and watched us unpack for a moment. The breakfast room is so small that it was shoulder-to-shoulder with noisy people at 8:00 o'clock in the morning, and our family of four had nowhere to sit and eat (To its credit the staff reluctantly allowed us to tote our plates out to the pool deck). When I checked out, the caring clerk asked what they could have done to improve the stay, and I honestly told them that there was nothing they could have done. The facility is just not up to what I had expected from Best Western and as a result I'll be very wary of booking at another Best Western hotel without careful Investigation, because now I don't trust the website to give me a realistic portrait of what I'll be getting for $115 a night.

« Best Western in Clarkston, WA »

Clean but dated. Excellent staff and breakfast. Older style motel. Only two floors. TV has older style. Overpriced considering other hotels available in the area. Good to better in rating. Pool, fitness center, and internet available.

    « Very impressive! »

This is probably the best hotel I have stayed at in a long time. Very nice personnel, clean and comfortable rooms and very convenient to everything we wanted to do. The breakfast was very good too. All-in-all, will stay there again if we are back in that area.

« Very good value and biker friendly. »

Have stayed in area several times before and this was the first time at this motel. This is one of the better places to stay. Is within walking distance of restaurants and a convenience store. Pool area was good and had a decent provided breakfast. Has a bike washing station.

    « Clean, Friendly, Quiet »

Very glad there were no available rooms with two beds at the "better" hotel in Clarkston. Our room was SUPER clean, and the bed was comfortable. The layout of the room with a third bed in a loft area would be great for families. I could picture my granddaughters fighting over who would sleep upstairs if they stayed here. Free in room wifi had a better signal than what I've had in many higher end hotels. Free breakfast is quite ample and had a good selection, biscuits and gravy, eggs, waffles with blueberries, oatmeal, and cold cereal options for those who want it. All the staff were very friendly...even the maintenance staff said hi and wished us a good day. Next time I'll make sure I bring a swimsuit so I can try out the hot tub. Suggestion for the management, go green. we hung up our towels expecting to reuse them the next day...all our towels were replaced with fresh when the room was serviced.

« Not up to what I expect from a Best Western »

Had a double queen room near the pool, the area was reasonably quiet. The room was clean, but had a musty, mildewy smell. The bed was comfortable, but the pillows were lumpy and uncomfortable. It was a cool evening, so we had the heat on for a few minutes, it cycled off, and during the night it came on again and the smell coming out of the unit was awful - rancid, mildewy... ugh.... I turned off the heat and fan, but the smell lingered for hours. Also don't appreciate being able to hear the guy in the room above peeing in the toilet. I was disappointed that we paid almost $130 to stay here. We did not eat at the hotel, so I can't speak to that.

« Peaceful, relaxing, friendly, priced reasonably »

We have used the Best Western River Tree (Clarkston, Wa) about six times now (past four years) in our trips from Boise, Idaho to northern Idaho. We find this Hotel as the best in all categories between our destinations in the north and our home in Boise. Friendly, clean, pet friendly (out little dog loved the fenced area off of the room to stretch and play), great coffee, great rooms, great Continental breakfast. Cleanness overall, from the parking lot to the interior pool & hot-tub & fitness areas is exceptional. We learned of this Best Western through friends who travel our same route several times a year. Pricing of the stay, plus the pet fee, is quite reasonable. So, far, we have yet to find any other hotel/motel from Boise to the Canadian border as pleasant and relaxing. Thank you Best Western - River Tree in Clarkston, Wa.

« Very nice place to stay »

The people here were very friendly and accommodating. I would stay here again if in this area. Outdoor rooms, pool, hot tub, pizza place next door, Chinese place that delivers. On Main Street, nice breakfast with hot and cold food, super to deal with.

« Clean, quiet, a bit cramped -- GREAT hot tub »

This was a stopover stay for us on our way elsewhere, but it was better than expected. The room was crowded, but the was comfortable seating, and it was immaculate in cleanliness. We travel with two small dogs, and they have a quirky requirement to take them to and from the rooms via a gated gravel walkway and we had trouble with the gates' locks, but it was nice to be able to let the dogs out into the area from the room'so sliding glass door. It was generous of them to give each dog a gift bag with pick up bags, milk bones and a toy. The surrounding area was walkable, but the neighborhood was a bit run down though not scary. The location was a convenient drive to the city'so amenities.

« Stayed here multiple times »

My group has stayed here multiple time. It's a great place for us to connect, especially around the pool during the Summer. The rooms are very spacious and the beds are quite comfortable. It's very centrally located and the desk staff has always been helpful in providing recommendations for places to eat and drink around town. The breakfast has also improved over the last couple years and we have actually opted to skip our normal breakfast spot a couple of times to take in the breakfast served by the Rivertree Inn. I can't wait to come back again this Summer!

    « Just like family »

We have stayed here several times and intend to continue coming here when we need a hotel in this area. They have one of the friendliest and most helpful staff I have ever met. The breakfast was good and the rooms are exceptionally clean. I love the fact that they accept animals and do have several "dog" rooms with a sliding door leading out to a penned area for your pet. Also they give you a bag with treats, a toy, and puppy poopy bags in it. Really a nice gift to the puppy with you.

    « unique rooms »

This location is definitely creative in condensing space. The room layouts would not be suitable for tall people or the handicap on the second floor. It was clear that the staff was very hard working, cooperative, and good at multitasking

  • 5

We stayed in a room with 3 queen beds and loved it!!! The layout of the room was unique and roomy. The beds were comfortable and the shower was great. They had an awesome continental breakfast with a gluten free option (not something we used) for those that needed it. They also had fresh strawberries and blue berries for the waffles as well as whipped cream.

« All the amenities for a reasonable price »

When we first drove up the area was a little sketchy but we were pleasantly surprised. The layout is unique and if it was summer would have been even better the sliding door goes right to the pool. The hotel had all the little amenities higher end hotels do, makeup wipes, nice shampoo ect. but without the price. The staff was very nice and extremely helpful with tourist attractions and the continental breakfast was also very good.

    « Very best »

We always stay here. They have done a lot of up grading. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Rooms are very comfortable, beds especially. Breakfast is outstanding. Great internet connection. We highly recommend staying here.

« Our second stay worse then the first! »

We had stayed here a couple of years ago and thought it fine enough to use again. For some reason our key cards were a problem, the wifi didn't work well even when I hard lined my laptop I still had problems with the connection. We found a urine soaked wash rag neatly folded on the shelf under the others as we were packing to leave and the breakfast was lacking half the choices and made my tummy upset. What the hell happened? I used to recommend this site... not so much any more.

Excellent room and the workers are wonderful. Friendly and always there to help you if you need it. Breakfast was very robust and enjoyable. Something for everyone. The rooms are very clean and well kept. Love the pet rooms with a kennel attached so your pet can go out after being in the car and riding for a distance. Also, pets get a gift sack with little treats, a small toy, and "poopy bags" for their masters:)

    « Plesant »

Really like this hotel and its staff. Clean, friendly place to stay. Staff is so helpful and always good humored and happy to be of assistance to you. Great place to stay. The breakfast has a wide variety of food, and is kept fresh. They do allow animals, which I appreciate since I have a service animal that goes with me everywhere. The staff give the dog a doggie bag with treats and a toy in it as well as "poopy bags" for the humans:) You won't go wrong staying here.

    « Pleasing surprise »

The wife and I decided to head to Moscow for a University of Idaho basketball game and motel prices had been jacked up for a WSU football game. We were really surprised to find a room less than 30 miles away for such a reasonable price. The motel was clean, room was very nice and had a small couch and chair. The breakfast area is a little small but they had a full breakfast.

« Business trip to Clarkston »

Best Western has been a reliable "brand" for us on business trips, and this time was no exception! While the "curb appeal" wasn't sexy, the staff were extremely friendly and helpful (Bo Jack's Grill was amazing!!) and the room was roomy, clean, and as nice as any other BW property. Breakfast (included) was above par: eggs, sausage, waffles, fruit (strawberries and blueberries, too) in a cozy room with NO blaring TV!!! We'll be back!

« Thanks for the great stay »

As always enjoyed the stay at your hotel. Really appreciate the new security updates. Staff and management were very helpful. Will stay there again. Always happy with Best Western hotels/motels. Thank you

    « Best Western Clarkston »

Easy access from freeway to hotel. On major street with many restaurants in the area. One of the best hotels we have stayed at in months. Clean, modern, great staff, breakfast awesome. Quiet We did not use the pool due to time, but it appeared clean. Really liked the jacuzzie bathtub!!!!

    « Nice Motel »

This motel is centrally located to restaurants and other businesses in the Clarkston and Lewiston area, which makes it very convenient for travelers. The staff is very freiendly and helpful, rooms are clean, and beds are very comfortable. The breakfast is also the best we have seen in the area for the prcie of the rooms. I would definitely recomend this motel.

    « Very nice motel »

Staff were welcoming and friendly. They allowed me an early check-in and even went out of their way to get the room ready. It was an odd layout for a motel - had to negotiate different pathways, but once in the room it was no problem. And my room had a sliding glass door that allowed me immediate access to my vehicle. Room was clean if not a bit small.

    « Very nice »

We arrived in town with no reservation not knowing there was a football game that night. The first place we went in Lewiston was full so we decided to try across the river in Clarkston. A couple who we were travelling with had stayed at the Best Western there and knew where it was. There was only two rooms left and they were suites. The gal at the front desk gave us a nice discount and we were very happy. The rooms where very spacious and very nice. The breakfast the next morning was really good also. Although the space was small the food was better than some I have gotten at newer fancier Best Westerns.

    « Happy »

This motel is very motorcycle friendly and offers an excellent breakfast to start your day. The rooms are clean and well maintained. My choice when traveling. The Pizza and pasta place next door is good but not fine dining.

« Great room and service »

This was a great room and the service was very good. Nice and clean, we enjoyed the hot tub and pool. Our room faced the pool and had a small table available to sit right outside the sliding door of our room. Breakfast was great. Had biscuits and gravy, scrambled as well as boiled eggs, fruit, pasties, waffles etc. Great little spot. Pizza place right next door if you don't want to drive or walk much.
