Beautifully decorated, excellent and friendly staff, clean rooms, clean workout center, pristine pool, good parking, convenient location, excellent breakfast! Love love the paintings!! Our room had everything!! Well lit, substantial plug ins, big bathroom vanity, clean bathroom!
this is a newer building. The parking lot was very well illuminated and the hallways and rooms did not have the common musky smell like older building have. it was neat and clean and quiet at night. I don't know of any other hotel in town that compares to this one.
Great hotel. Always clean. Hotel staff is always friendly and helpful if you need anything. They have a bookshelf in the lobby too that I always take advantage of. Well lit parking lot. If near Clarendon, Tx do yourself a favor and stay at this Red River Best Western, you won't be disappointed. To the city council in Clarendon: you need more restaurants!
I commute between TX and CO and stay at this hotel often. The staff is always helpful and do their best to accommodate their guests. The rooms are always clean. The full breakfast in the morning offers a great deal of variety and is always good especially the hot breakfast. I highly recommend this hotel.
Stayed the night at this quaint hotel for a funeral in the area. The room was great, the swimming pool was very very cold but great and the hottub was great also! Mrs Terry Askew was amazing and she was very knowledgeable and very sweet. She needs a raise! Mr. Matt was great also. He noticed my family andI in the hottub and heated it up for us without us asking! He was very professional and very polite and he too needs a raise!. Matter of fact all of the employees need a raise! Everyone on the staff was great!. Our stay was great and the hotel was very clean including the grounds of the property was outstanding! A tip for the hot tub is to ask the front desk to heat it up for u but if Matt is on shift and you tell him you will be using the hottub he will get it right for you! I will stay again if I'm ever in the area and would recommend friends and family traveling through the Panhandle of Texas to stop in and tell them Jeter sent you! Keep up the good work
From the moment you enter the hotel, check-in and enter your room, you feel like you've entered a small elegant hotel. Breakfast was good and frequently restocked. The omelets are pre-made but tasty, and the bacon was especially good. Excellent staffa this location.
Our family travels to Colorado twice a year. We always stay at Red River Best Western in Clarendon because we find it the best value for excellent service. We are particularly pleased with the pet accommodations as well as the superior breakfast. We find the front desk staff most accommodating and professional.
Great heated pool and hot tub. IF you are noise sensitive, ask for headphones at the front desk as there is considerable road noise. The breakfast was really good and offered a good variety. Beds were comfortable and the.sheets were super soft.
I've stayed at this hotel before years ago. It's super clean. The pool is inside abs the chlorine hits you as soon as you walk in. Sorta strong. I was on 3rd floor so by the time but to room no longer can smell it. Breakfast has a variety for each person. We will be back!
Very easy to access. Surrounded by nice green grass for walking our dogs. Nice breakfast selection. Nice western art lets you know you are in Texas. Very clean. Would definitely stay here again.
There were a few hiccups during our stay. First there was a miscommunication with housekeeping; we didn't get our room cleaned the first morning due to a do not disturb sign being placed on our door. Even though we removed the sign before heading out for the day and making casual contact with housekeeping. We later found out that when housekeeping starts their scheduled cleaning if there is ever a do not disturb sign on the door during the initial run through they will not come back even if the sign has been removed (and apparently even if it was removed before they had even made their way to your room). Example, the housekeeping crew were cleaning the rooms next to ours when the sign got removed and just before we headed out. They saw us take the sign off and watched us leave as we exchanges smiles and a polite wave with them. Much to our surprise when returned later that evening our room was left uncleaned and turned over. There after however, the housekeeping was attentive -with the exception of them not vacuuming the carpets. The other issue we ran into was with the tv. It would cut out every 3-5mins and display and "HDMI" message. I reported it to the front desk the first morning we were there and the issue was never resolved. We assume maintenance came in because when we got back that evening the tv was on and the remote left on the edge of the bed, but the issue was not fixed. When we inquired with the front desk we were told they had no way to check to see if it had been looked at since they don't have access to the morning crews system... We gave up on it since we were only in the room at night, but it was annoying when you did "try" to watch tv. Aside from that it, the stay was pleasant.
We stopped here for the night during a long road trip and were so glad we chose this hotel. It was clean, comfortable, and nicely appointed. We appreciated the bottled water in the room, the hot breakfast options, and the fact it's pet-friendly but also has a no-pets floor (we stayed on the no-pets 3rd floor). We heard the trains once or twice, as other reviews mentioned, but it was no problem at all while sleeping. Would 100% stay here again if we pass this way on another trip.
Great stop over, clean and comfortable rooms. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We had a 3 queen room which was so nice with kids.
Best hotel we've found for dog grassy areas for doing business. Hotel is comfortable, clean, and good hot and cold breakfast items. Hot tub and pool indoors. Train noise at night bothers some, upstairs rooms seem to be quieter.
This was the worst stay at a Best Western out of all of our stays. Paid over $200. For the room and was assured by two separate representatives that we had our room on the first floor and upon checking in I was told that they had no more rooms to switch around and we had a room in the second floor. The person checking me in did not care what status I had with Best Western.
Lovely stay with a clean room, comfortable bed and exceptionally friendly reception from both evening and morning front desk staff. Delicious breakfast well stocked by a warm, friendly host. Noise is not an issue! We slept well in our quiet room. Highly recommend!
The good was the staff, the room was clean, breakfast adequate, and the indoor pool appeared nice. The bad is the building is VERY close to a railroad track on one side and a highway in front. It sounded like the trains were coming through our room all night. In hindsight we should have walked out when we were greeted with a sign in our room offering "ear plugs if hearing sensitive". Also there is a large and nice indoor pool we did not use, but kids yelling was easily heard from our room. The bathroom has the tub/shower, with the sink and mirror in main room. Poor lighting in sink area, bed comfortable, ac/heater worked well, plenty of hot water and pressure in bathroom, rather dark and drab room, and safe area. All the good just could not overcome the noise.
This hotel had everything! Clean and comfortable rooms, in room spa, friendly staff, and great breakfast. The food wasn't the low quality you usually get from free breakfast. Coffee machine offered many options and was great! We would book this as a regular getaway if it weren't so far from our house.
This is the nicest hotel with the friendliest staff that we've experienced in 3 years! The rooms are very comfortable and we even received room service. The breakfast offered many options and was very good!
We spent a night here while on a road trip. I think that's what most people do. We chose it because it was a convenient place to stop for the night AND they allow dogs - and they allowed our large dog to stay. It's really hard to find a place that allows larger dogs. Many places say they are “pet friendly” but have a pretty low weight limit. We had a room at the end of the hall, right near an exit door, which was perfect. The room was large, with a king sized bed, couch and coffee table, a mini fridge and microwave. The bed was pretty comfortable and there were lots of pillows as well as many channels on the Directv. They also had 2 bottles of water in the room for us. The people working there were very friendly and the lobby was decorated for Valentine's Day. The room was clean and quiet and well maintained. There were books to take if you wanted to read one, local newspapers, and a large selection of items for the free breakfast. Parking is convenient. I think this is the only place to stay in town (maybe there is one old motel still there) so it's wonderful that it's such a great place. Thanks to the owners/managers for allowing our large dog to stay! One warning if you are staying here - there are very few places to eat in town and they close early (8:00 PM when we were there). Make sure you get something to eat early!
If you are familiar at all with this portion of the Panhandle of Texas you know that hotel options are few and far between. This particular hotel was pleasure to stay at. We were there during the Christmas season and it was very cheerfully decorated! Not just an artificial tree in the corner but they truly put some time and love into making it feel festive. This facility is well cared for and the entire staff was professional and courteous. It is a bit smaller property but they make good use of the space they have. The dining area for breakfast we well attended and had a large selection of breakfast fare. Rooms are clean and well appointed for the price.
We were on a long drive between Denver and Wichita Falls, and this hotel was in the right location for an evening stop. The staff was friendly, the room clean and comfortable, and the shower worked well. Breakfast was pretty much the standard offerings, but was good. There are not many restaurants in Clarendon, but we found a place. There is a large truck parking lot area to east of the hotel, which might generate noise in evening or early morning (we didn't encounter a problem on this stay). Some prior customers have reported road noise, but our observations were the evening multiple trains (blowing horns each time) were more of an issue - there is a mainline train route near the hotel and it woke me up a couple of times during the night as another train came through (with horn). Not a major issue, but worth mentioning.
We are regular customers of this hotel on US 287. mMaking regular trips between Colorado and Texas, this the ONLY well managed hotel between Decatur and Amarillo. Clean, properly maintained, and of good value...friendly staff and wonderfully decorated for Christmas inside and out. Breakfast is basic but good. Special recognition to kitchen staffer Deanna for hard work and friendliness!
Travelling on the 287 corridor from CO to SE-TX. While Amarillo is an obvious place to stop, there are occasional crime issues at some of the hotels there, and prices are a bit higher. This is a smaller hotel just a little further down the road, and is very nice. Since it is a somewhat smaller property, the exercise and breakfast rooms are also on the smaller size, but both are well maintained with all of the usual variety from Best Western. Didn't actually use the pool, but was clean and had a nice hot-tub cut-out from the main pool. The room was well cleaned and the bed reasonably comfortable. The shower was decent. Climate control worked well, and despite the cold outside temps, didn't need to switch on very often to hold the room temperature. All of the usual amenities in the room including a desk with convenient outlets and free wifi with decent speed. Staff were all friendly and competent. We were on the 3rd floor and didn't notice any noise issues. Overall, exactly what you hope for from a good midrange roadside hotel.
From the moment you check in until you leave you will be impressed and even amazed. The young lady that checked us in was prompt and had our key ready in minutes. Our room was clean, cool, well lit and the curtains closed so the parking lot lights did not peek through. Breakfast was very good. Housekeeping does an amazing job. This is the cleanest hotel, regardless of price, we've ever stayed in. We drive an extra 90 miles to get to Clarendon to stay here on our way from Colorado to Texas every year.
This s an excellent roadside property. It's not fancy but doesn't claim to be. Rather, it is obviously a well-managed property (we are told it has had the same owner for 18 years) with very friendly staff. For this type of property the breakfast is superior with thick pork bacon & a wide variety of nice things to go with it. What stands out the most, however, is how clean the place is, both guest rooms and public areas. We travel Highway 287 a lot & this is our best suggestion between Wichita Falls & Amarillo.
The hotel is clean; the staff are both friendly and helpful; the amenities and rooms are clean, well kept, and comfortable! The pool and hot tub are also very enjoyable! I also appreciate that the hotel is pet-friendly. Because the hotel is located on a major throughway, the hotel provides complimentary ear plugs!
This place is super clean with friendly staff. From the front desk to the nice lady working the breakfast. Housekeeping were friendly and courteous as well. If ALL of the staff have smiles on their faces then that's a good sign.
This place was what all lodging should be: professional, friendly, helpful and clean. Everyone seemed to actually like their jobs. Breakfast was also wonderful. Everything about our stay was what I expect in the Texas Panhandle. We will stay there again, next time we are that direction.
We stayed at this location for one night while passing through town. It was very clean, and the bed was super comfortable. We enjoyed the breakfast and use of the indoor pool. I also loved that they have a free book area with a wide selection of books to choose from. Nice touch!
Perfect accommodations.....would highly recommend! But, not much to choose from for dining locations, which was certainly no fault of Best Western. The breakfast was the best we have ever had. Would return.
Terrible experience! Made a reservation and secured with credit card. Specifically asked for a pet room and was quoted the extra fees which we gladly accepted. Arrived at hotel to be told by front desk guy that we did not specify a pet room and we cannot stay there (no more pet rooms). He then processed to tell us our dogs could sleep in the car. Mind you this is Texas and we are having a record heat wave…not to mention it's illegal. I will never stay at a Best Western EVER if this is the kind of service they provide.
The staff was great. They had parking for my big truck. The rooms were very nice. They had an indoor pool. The breakfast was delicious. They had a decent workout room. The staff was very attentive. I had a very nice stay . I would definitely recommend this hotel. I spend at least 2-3 days a week in hotels for my job. Best Western is always my first choice.
This property was an absolutely wonderful place to stay. The staff was very friendly and accommodating and the hotel has all of the amenities you would expect. We really enjoyed our stay and it was an exceptional value!
Accommodations were very clean, the room was comfortable with room to spread out & relax, & there was no worry of being in an unsafe place. Staff was super friendly, professional & helpful. AND, it was pet friendly with a reasonable pet fee. We don't usually stay at BW, but this particular hotel may have changed our mindset on BW's.
The Best Western Plus Red River in in Clarendon is an excellent stopping point when traveling across the country with your fur babies. They staff is friendly and helpful. The rooms are comfortable and the breakfast is really nice. The grassy spaces are always very well maintained and the parking lot is well lit through the night. An excellent value!
Consistently excellent. Always our go-to stop when we are in the area. We had been on the road for a couple of weeks and that was the best shower we had seen. And to top it off, it is close to an excellent Thai food restaurant.
Very nice establishment, good value, clean, friendly staff an wonderful Christmas decor Insde and out. Breakfast was nice, however. Space to sit was limited. Room space was typical, TV and internet service were excellent.
Easy check in and easy check out. People are very nice. We have a dog and 2nd floor is for people with dogs and the non-carpeted floors are great! Friends did not have a dog and they stayed on 3rd floor and they were also pleased with hotel. It's a welcome surprise to have a nice road side hotel with good breakfast, clean accommodations, and good area to walk dog. Will be back!
Extremely well kept and managed. Great find! Dog friendly. Clean. Quiet. Good water pressure. Comfortable bed. Very well lit parking lot and grassy area for dog upon late arrival. All staff was friendly and efficient. Will definitely stay here again.
This hotel does not make any exceptions on their cancellation policy to include frozen pipes that burst the morning of planned travel and floods a portion of your home during the most widespread freeze event impacting millions of people across the country. What a compassionate hotel brand.
Out of the three Best Western properties we stayed at on this trip, the Red River Inn was the best. The breakfast was unique with western omelettes and fresh pancakes and, inline the other properties, the breakfast was well stocked.
We have busted this hotel approximately 3 different times, and we have always been welcomed with a smile. Our travels bring us in close to midnight, and I couldn't ask for a friendlier staff. They always ask if we need anything, or what they can do to make our stay better. The rooms are incredibly clean, the breakfast has a variety of options, and the coffee is excellent. We thoroughly enjoy staying at this hotel.
This is a great place to stay. The front desk staff were helpful and extremely fast in checking us in and out. The breakfast was hot and the Breakfast Lady was the sweetest thing. The room we had was large and clean. Highly recommend.
I travel with my handicapped husband and device dog. This hotel is so accommodating from the time you check in until the time you check out. Terri and Jeremy at the front desk are so friendly. Even the woman at breakfast is so helpful. It is nice seeing familiar faces after a long day of travel
No one at front desk upon arrival. Weary travelers were all waiting and confused. Housekeeping located front desk person after long wait. Check in was ok and room request was honored. Room next to outer door is very loud, as guests slammed doors all night. Trains and traffic caused outside noise in room as well. Not a good rest at all. No places in town to eat except fast food. Clean room. Good bedding. Breakfast was good. Check out service the next morning was very prompt and professional.
Extremely clean, well appointed room. The staff on all shifts were very helpful and eager to please. This is a great place to stay, on a long US Highway. It's a small town hotel, with a bigger city feel. You will enjoy your layover here in Clarendon.
My Husband is a Truck Owner Operator... we had to book this hotel due to truck repairs. We checked in on Wednesday and have been staying here for the past 5 days. On Saturday, we caught two laundry attendants ( Brandy & Stephanie) in our room; without our permission. We had the privacy tag on the door and were still checked into our room. When we addressed this with the Front Desk Clerk (Julie) she alleged there was a complaint of smoking in the room. We denied the accusation and realized that Julie was trying to cover up for the attendees. We filed a complaint with Corporate Services; which made the STAFF even more hostile towards us. The Staff began to harass my husband every time we were in the lobby or in the front sitting area; we were given side-eyed looks and snubbed remarks. Jeremy, the afternoon Front Desk clerk yelled at me and threatened me by saying "This is what happens in a small town ! You messed with our girls so we don't want to hear a peep from you > My husband began to record the incident due to my fear of being harmed by the staff. When we tried to walk away to go to our room we were threatened again by Jeremey > in which he said he would call the Sheriff if we leave our room for the rest of the night. We were shocked, humiliated, and harassed numerous of times; unfortunately since this is small town we had no other option but to file another complaint. BE VERY CAREFUL with your belongings and the STAFF!!! This is not a safe hotel for anyone who is not the right complexion.
The Claredon Best Western was just perfect for pets. They had manicured green grass for the pets. It was clean and nice. The room had no carpeting which I enjoyed, it seemed cleaner. Only draw back there is no food delivery to this hotel.
This is a great option, and you avoid the traffic and prices of Amarillo. We were pulling a trailer and needed a spacious and safe place to park. Staff members were very friendly, the bed was comfortable, and breakfast was delicious.
This was a wonderful hotel with very kind and helpful employees. Everyone I came in contact with was wonderful, accommodating, and just overall genuinely pleasant. As a woman traveling alone it was nice to feel safe in an unfamiliar town. I would definitely recommend this Best Western.
We drove up from the DFW area after work so we would be near Palo Duro Canyon for our morning hike. This hotel is so clean, nice and quiet. The staff was very welcoming. It is about an hour from Palo Duro Canyon or Amarillo and was a great place.
Overall this was a great hotel. I stopped here for a night on my way from California to Texas in May 2022. The hotel seemed almost brand new, the rooms were excellent, clean, comfortable, and inviting. The hotel staff was very welcoming and friendly. The hotel had pet friendly rooms, which was a must for me since I was traveling with my dog. And a free hot breakfast was included. Overall a very pleasant overnight stay here, would highly recommend this hotel.
The people were very friendly and welcoming. As was the environment. The room and breakfast area were clean. My whole family slept great and comfortably. If I end up going through that area again I'd gladly choose to stay at that hotel.
Last stop on our long driving trip from Colorado to the Florida Keys. Always look forward to Clarendon. We have stayed in the BW RR inn many years, never disappointed. We travel with our Lab and always have a very convenient room on bottom floor, near rear door. The staffs always friendly and accommodating. Breakfast always good!
Great place to spend the night and experience a little leisure time in the hot tub. Roomy rooms and the outside very safe to walk your pet (chihuahua). I've used this facility for the last 20 or so years and I've never had a complaint. I live in Texas and my sister lives in New Mexico so it's been our meeting point for a while.
Gotta make that trip through the panhandle? This is the place to stay for the night. Great location and clean and nice place that makes it easy to stay at. Parking at night was easy and well light. Very safe town.
From the time we checked in until we left we were extremely pleased with our stay. Jeremy at the front desk greeted us and was extremely helpful. This is the cleanest hotel I've ever stayed at. The pool and hot tub facilities were awesome! Very comfy beds!!! Breakfast was amazing also! The western omelette was scrumptious. Very tasty sausage also. I can't say enough good about this staff! They were so amazingly kind and helpful!!! All around great stay!!! If you are in this area do yourself a favor and stay at this hotel. You will be so glad you did.
Very good find on long journey.. Was going to travel through Lubbock but no availability. Found this jewel in Clarendon and couldn't be happier. It was clean and the staff was friendly. The only surprise was a nice place in the middle of nowhere. Thank you for a pleasant experience.
My wife and I travel frequently. We are regularly disappointed in the accommodations. This Best Western, was a pleasant surprise! The room was very clean, it was in good condition. The price was good. WELL done Red River Inn!
Best nights sleep in a very long time. The bed was so comfortable, room was clean and inviting. Staff at hotel was very friendly and accommodating and the breakfast was really good!! If you are on 287 headed north or south make this your stop in the panhandle for a great nights sleep!! Oh and also pet friendly for our Maggie!!Thanks Best Western!
We travel this route regularly and have definitely decided this is the place to stop. From the cleanliness to the fact that they allow pets for a reasonable fee to the excellent breakfast makes it a great place. We will continue to stop in Clarendon thanks to this great hotel.
It was a short night, but very comfortable and good nights sleep. Woke up to a wonderful fresh hot breakfast and on our way. The hallways are decorated with art work from a local artist, very nice. Small town Texas hospitality!
WOW - whenever my husband and I are on the road between Dallas and Colorado we ALWAYS pick this hotel as our stop off point. It always lives up to our expectation - exceptionally clean - better breakfast by far than any other places we stay - friendly people - an indoor pool big enough to let your kids work out the wiggles of a long car ride - great mattresses - quiet rooms - great showers! I know I sound like a commercial, but we really do think very highly of this place!
We love this BW stop as we travel cross country to our home away from home. Familiarity breeds comfort. Especially well-groomed and clean green space welcomes us. Our room is always clean and we wake to the smell of a hot breakfast in the morning. Thanks Best Western!
On a long road trip decided to settle in during the late afternoon after hitting a deer a few nights before after dark. Service was ok and room was ok except that I was awoken to another guest trying to enter my room with a key he was assigned to the same room. After desk confirmed the error, it took a long time for me to relax again. I would like to think that type of error is not customary. No consolation was offered until I discussed it with the desk upon checkout. The woman at the desk in the morning was much more concerned about my stay than the previous clerk.
This is a great hotel with a fantastic breakfast. The staff is friendly and helpful. Rooms are quiet, clean, roomy. Easy to get to. I recommend this hotel. Price was reasonable. Easy into and out of the parking lot. Food sources are close.
Terry was exceptional getting our employees a room they needed to stay for this business trip. Secure, clean, friendly, and comfortable. We enjoyed our stay and encourage others to use them as well. We will definitely use Red River Inn in the future.
This was an excellent place to stay! Definitely recommend it! We were there for a wedding. The staff was very helpful, the overall place was very well maintained and very clean! The breakfast was very good.
The Best Western Red River Inn is one of the nicest hotels I have stayed in for the money. The rooms are modern and very clean. The staff is very friendly and welcoming. They have one of the best free breakfasts of any hotel in this class that I have stayed in. It is a full breakfast...not just a continental breakfast. The hotel is located along the highway so if you are a light sleeper, request a room in the back of the hotel.
Best Western "Plus" never disappoint us. It has to be "Plus" though, otherwise you don't know what you are getting. Everytime, it feels like home since they are all very similar. Always clean and good breakfasts. Great service from front desk.
I enjoyed my stay at Clarendon Best Western and I am a regular Best Western customer. They have a nice, pleasant property. It has an indoor pool and breakfast setup was nice. The room was spacious and good for us.
Seldom, if ever, do I hand out a full five star review. Usually an upscale resort with a staff of fifty can deliver impeccable service, but a hotel that can make you wish you could stay for a month is rare. Julie, the front desk person, was full of smiles giving us her best Texas greeting. Check-in is was smooth and the hotel's various amenities were pointed out without pause. This fact that this hotel does allow pets was very noticeable by the couple behind us with three under 6 children and two giant hounds on leashes straining to be freed. PETS ARE NOT ALLOWED ON THE THIRD FLOOR! There is a lovely indoor swimming pool with a separate hot tub that was simply wonderful! The hot breakfast of pancakes, juices, toast, coffee or milk was delicious. Plenty of parking and the hotel is right on main street the first business you see when you get off the highway. Ask for a room on the third floor and close to the front. We stayed in room 305 which had two queen beds, plenty of coffee with lots of cream and sugar and the room and bathroom were immaculate. Looked like my mom cleaned the place. You can't go wrong here.
This is a real diamond in the rough! Off the beaten path in a small town and exemplary in every way. Clean rooms, comfortable beds. They offer an oversized room with small living area that was VERY nice and spacious. Microwave and fridge in the room. The whole stay could not have been better!
Hotel was clean and comfortable. Staff was friendly and helpful. Room was very clean and housekeeping staff was amazing! Breakfast was very good. Definitely recommended. Reasonably priced. A great hotel in a small town.
Clean and very friendly, helpful service and kind front desk people. The town is extremely small with just about 3 meal choices, so plan ahead. The Thai restaurant down the street is delicious! Between Wichita Falls and Amarillo this is definitely your best choice!
My wife and I stayed in the Best Western Plus in Clarendon last night. We haven't stayed in a Best Western in years because we thought it had a tarnished reputation. However, this Best Western proved us to be wrong. It's possible that the “Plus” in its name denotes that it's a hotel of a higher quality. Our experience in this hotel was excellent. Everything to the last detail was done to our liking and taste. The hotel was in pristine condition, clean, and very comfortable. The owner seems to care very much about the quality of this hotel and does not seem to skimp on anything to make it an excellent place to stay. They are now serving a full hot sit down breakfast which was excellent. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone. The price was reasonable and a very good value.
This isa good hotel. The check in was fast and the staff is friendly. They have a nice pool area. The rooms were clean. There is road nose as it is beside a HIghway. There are places to eat nearby the hotel.
My husband and I were greeted warmly at the front desk and offered complimentary water. We woke up for a refreshing warm swim and then a hot breakfast. He and I eat differently and we both found foods and drink that suited our nutritional and personality preferences. We felt very safe there and slept amazingly. I felt pampered and was able to get a great night's rest. We plan to return on our way back from My Rushmore.
Traveling this area I needed a base to go in and out of. This hotel was the perfect location. The bonus being the friendly staff, cleanliness and indoor pool. This was a Texas History spring break trip with my 9 yr old great granddaughter. Plus Donley Co courthouse is my Fav out of all 254 in Tx This area is brimming with history
Rattling air ducts seem to be a common problem in this hotel, to the point that guests are offered complementary ear plugs. The front desk person did not offer any solution for the loud noise - no discount because I had made the reservation via a third party, no room change because the hotel was fully booked and no fix because there was no maintenance on site. I was literally told that this was not the “Ritz Carlton”. A week ago I stayed at a great Best Western Plus in Amarillo and I booked the one in Clarendon expecting a similar experience. Stay away from this terrible hotel!!!
Affordable, easy, excellent quality room. I received the smallest room, a queen with a (large) fridge and couch and microwave! I had a lot of food with me, two coolers worth. And it pretty much all fit in the fridge! Except the non perishable things :-) affordable rate for dog ($20) and right off the highway. It didn't have any musky dog smell and the rooms and bathrooms were big, enough to fit a couch and coffee table and have high ceilings to make it look and feel big. It was quiet too, and family friendly. They had a pool and a fitness facility that I did not use. I primarily slept and it was clean and quiet. I would stay here again with or without my dog! Large green grassy area for dogs to go to the bathroom. A+++ breakfast was great too!
Great location, really pleasant and clean rooms, but the thing that makes this such a good place to stay are the staff. All of the people are incredibly helpful and generous with their time and advice. I was traveling to visit the college in town and they had great things to say about the school. The staff was also helpful with finding a place to eat near by.
I have to stop trusting you people. Did someone fail to mention the location right on a busy highway with an inordinate amount of truck and motorcycle traffic? Not much sleep even though the bed was comfortable. Also, the walls were paper thin and there was a water torture drip that we couldn't find. The staff was friendly and even handed me a menu for a nearby Thai restaurant that I was salivating for. However, when I called to order, they are closed on weekends. Perhaps the staff could be informed about local eateries considering there are only about three of them in town. I chose what was listed as a diner but was really a counter in the back of a convenience store with only mostly breading fried chicken on the menu. I don't know what makes this Best Western a Plus, or why anyone would recommend it.
We often use this route to visit family. Needed a place to stay between Amarillo and Wichita Falls. This was like an oasis. Clean, Courteous, Comfortable. This will be our “go to” place along this route.
The hotel is good overall. Susan a front desk employee can ruin your whole stay! Towels could be cleaner! A little better wiping and dusting in the rooms. I like the new mattresses and flooring in the rooms.
We travel back and forth to Colorado with our dog. This place is impeccably clean inside and out. Lots of nice grass for our dog. Just love this place. Friendly staff. Great pillows and beds. We'll maintained.
This was our second stay here, as we had passed this way 3 years ago on a trip to Colorado. Super clean, friendly! Comfortable bed, large room and wonderful grab n go breakfast. We recommend this place highly.
The hotel is clean and the staff was very friendly. My visit was very late at night and it was cold and pouring outside. Outside of the hotel was very neat and the grounds are beautiful. I would say this was probably one of the cleanest Best Westerns I 've visited. I could tell that my toilet bowl had been cleaned as well. Overall, the hotel was up-to-date. Oh, and you get DirecTV too!
The hotel is in a convenient location. The lobby and rooms are very clean. There is a remote guide and channel listing chart. Lots of towels, toiletries. Refrigerator with little freezer and microwave. Great AC!
This is a great place to stay. The staff went above and beyond .T he rooms are very clean and comfy. My kids love the pool and hot tub.It is very close to eating places and stores .very close to a lake and drive inn movie we love to stay at this hotel.
It's a clean and up-to-date hotel, The employees are friendly and helpful and seem to be the same ones year to year. We stay here every year on our way home from Wyoming. It's located in a small Texas town and not at all what you'd expect to find. It's our hidden gem!
The hotel is BAD BUSINESS!!! I had 3 rooms booked and the hotel had me down for 4. They did not tell me about the 4th room and when I got my company credit card statement I saw a 4th room charged. They REFUSED to refund my money and could care less that they did not tell me there was a 4th room booked when I checked in or that I work for a non-profit company and we have been very loyally staying at their establishment. NEVER AGAIN!!! DO NOT STAY HERE..bad business and have no loyalty to their customers.
Perfect place to stop and stay if you are passing thru Clarendon TX We stayed for mini family reunion since we are from Texas Panhandle Wonderful staff in ALL areas! They will try their hardest with any requests! Lots of cowboy artwork which made me feel right at home since I don't get to see quite as many cowboys in KC like the TX cowboys:)
Excellent place to stay if you're looking for a hotel in Clarendon. Some of the friendliest staff we've ever encountered and they really want to make sure you enjoy/enjoyed your stay. We made our reservation online when 30 minutes out from Clarendon and within minutes received an email stating that our room was ready for us (nice touch BW). We would definetely stay here again and highly recommend
Clarendon is a small town with very little, however, the Best Western is a hidden gem. Very nice hotel for the price, clean room, friendly staff, great location. The breakfast was tended to regularly and fully stocked! Definitely a great place to stop when driving through!
This was a great stop on a road trip with the family. Staff was very friendly, rooms were clean and spacious. Beds were comfortable enough, and there were plenty of pillows. Breakfast is complimentary and plentiful. We will be back!
I wasn't sure what to expect given the size of Clarendon, but the BW+ Red River Inn is as nice as any hotel i have stayed in, at a very reasonable cost. The rooms are modern and clean. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was good. The only negative is there is traffic noise from US 287 all night long. But if you are a light sleeper, ear plugs are provided complimentary. The noise did not bother me at all. I absolutely will stay here again.
We have been consistently pleased by the BWP hotels we have stayed in while on our car trips. This Inn was no exception. The front desk staff were really pleasant, helpful, and efficient upon check-in and check-out. We had a large room with sofa, coffee table, desk, dresser, king bed and bedside tables. All the lamp bases had electrical outlets and the lighting was good. A spotlessly clean room that had a Tv, refrigerator with small freezer, microwave and coffee maker. The breakfast buffet was better than most and include biscuits and gravy, scrambled eggs, western omelets, sausage patties and bacon as well as the standard cereals, yogurt, fruits and breads and sweet rolls. A great place to spend the night and have breakfast when you are on the road!
This Best Western was a very nice gem for us. We loved the fact that we had wood floors in our room and not carpet. It was a pet friendly room and we felt it was clean for our dog. The toiletries smell amazing and the staff was extremely helpful. The only downfall is not with the hotel, but there are not any good restaurants near by.
User friendly, clean, pet friendly, well lighted parking lot, easy check in and friendly staff. I drive a truck and have never had a problem with anything being from back of truck. This Best Western just has good management.
Everything about this Best Western is great. The cleanliness, hospitality, room size, breakfast. We will go out of our way to stay here when we make this regular trip. We also bring our pup who loves it!
The hotel was easy to find. The room was large and comfortable. The staff night have been a little more friendly, but we had no problem checking in. Breakfast choices were limited in fresh fruit and other more healthy choices, but it was hot and sufficient in quantity. We have been here before and will return when we pass through this area.
Love staying here! Always clean and very helpful staff. We stay twice a year when we go to and from Colorado. We travel during the holidays and they always have rooms available. We love the holiday decorations too!
We have stayed at Red River Inn for at least twenty years, and it keeps getting better. Rooms are well appointed, food is well prepared and plentiful, staff is guest-friendly and professional. We will always stay at RRI!
The rooms are clean with nice amenities. The rooms designated for pets do not have carpet which is great since our pets are sometimes sick from traveling. It is quiet and the staff is very friendly and helpful.
This is a great stop for us when traveling from Albuquerque NM to McKinney TX. Excellent accommodations, great customer service both at the front desk and breakfast dining room. The rooms are clean, comfortable, spacious, contained refrigerator, microwave, and great shower.
If you are riding a motorcycle, stay in Childress, Texas at the Holiday Inn Express. They prefer you park your motorcycle near the front door, with security camera's present and under a roof so your bike is protected against the environment.
Nice place to stay. Have stopped on our travels through here many time. Hotel has all the amenities, good breakfast, easy access, secure, pool and hot tub. Breakfast is very good. For us it is located just the right distance between Dallas and our travel points west.
We usually do not stay at Best Western but it was our only option. We were very pleased with the stay. Nice room. Loved the sink being outside the bathroom. Breakfast was good. Certainly would stay here again.
We have stayed at this location at least twice a year for the past 7 years while traveling cross country to visit family. We love it here! The staff is great and the hotel is always clean. The town is small and there isn't a ton of restaurants but the service makes it worth the slight inconvenience.
I have stayed at this Best Western Plus 4 times now. I go see my mom in a nursing home not far from Clarendon. I make the trip there, come back and relax in the hotel, then go back the next day to have lunch with her, then go back home. It makes for a restful weekend. The lady at the Check in desk is always nice and friendly. My room is always clean. It is a nice quiet hotel. I also enjoy the hot tub and pool. Always clean. And oh my goodness, the breakfast bar is great. I get up early and eat, then head to nursing home to eat lunch with mom, am usually still full from breakfast LOL. Great place to stay, will keep going back.
If your heading thru Texas, this Inn has an indoor pool and hottub side by side. They have a good breakfast included in the price. We like it because it's about an hour southeast outside of Amarillo, and you don't have to put up with the in town traffic. If your traveling that way, try this place out.
Needed a place to stay in Amarillo, after a long day of driving. Am so glad my search found the Best Western in Clarendon, instead. It was very convenient to get to, just outside of Amarillo and right on our route. It is right next door to a Sonic so was easy to drive through right before checking in. The hotel was a nice surprise. I read reviews before booking and so glad i decided to book early that day. When we got there, the sign said "No Vacancy unless you have a reservation!" I suppose it books up later in the day as it is a convenient place to stop when driving through Amarillo. The hotel was exceptionally clean, the hot breakfast in the morning was great, lots of choices considering it was open for several hours. Our room had plenty of space, even a sofa and table, and very comfy mattress and bedding. All of the staff we encountered were pleasant and helpful. I would definitely stay here again next time we travel through this area.
Clean comfortable and great place to unwind after hours of driving. Beds were comfortable, the pool was just right to get some exercise, and breakfast was one of the better hot breakfasts we have had . I would recommend this motel to travelers.
We always plan our trip to be able to stop here. Of all the Best Western Hotels this is possibly the best! The staff is awesome, from the ladies at the desk, to the ladies cleaning the rooms. Everyone speaks and is very courteous and helpful!
Friendly staff. Breakfast was good with plenty of options. Parking area well lit. Room stayed cool through the night! The overall cleanliness was good. Pool area was nice. Did not use the gym this trip.
This hotel was one of the only ones in this small town in Texas but it was wonderful. We needed to stop and was able to get one of the last rooms available. It was clean and very comfortable. Breakfast was yummy with a great selection. Will stay here again!!
We love this place! Great staff super clean rooms and a great variety of breakfast options to start your day. We arrange our trips to stay here 24 for. There is also a 5 star restaurant Jinga cafe 2 blocks away.
Checked in late. Glad for availability. Not much to pick from. Clean. Room was quiet and nice and dark!! Ok so it is 2019...why not put some USB plugs in?? A simple alarm clock with a port??? Cheap fix!!! The pillows were horrible! It took 3 to make one!! Continental breakfast good!
If you're traveling through the area, make sure you stop here. The Red River Inn meets all of your expectations of the Best Western Brand "AND" you're not going to find equal accommodations within a fifty mile radius. It's truly an oasis in a hotel/restaurant desert!
Convenient, friendly, clean. Spacious two queen bed room was great for our quick overnight stay. Ordered in Grumpys pizza and let the kids swim in the pool. Great way to end the long 8 hour day of traveling.
We stayed here overnight on a road trip, and it was wonderful! Large, spacious room with two queen beds, and it still wasn't cramped! Nice amenities - fridge, microwave, coffeemaker, thick, absorbent towels, nice soaps and shampoos, free water bottles, free breakfast... I almost wish we were staying here longer! Oh, and very reasonably priced!!
We're on our way to Dallas, and needed a place to stay for a night since we're traveling with our 1 year old. Great place to stay! Clean, affordable, and a friendly staff. Had no problem getting a room, check in was super fast! Room was spacious and great for our little guy to run around after being in his car seat. Nothing fancy, but great place to stay a night!
Needed a place to stay on my way back south from Wyoming. This hotel was clean, great service, and quick to get to off the road. My girls and I enjoyed it. We slept great and check out was fast. Also, the breakfast bar was set up nicely.
1 night, #303 King suite The hotel both inside and out appears to be quite new. The grounds, public areas and the room were way above-average clean & attractive. Nice warn, inviting colors and Texas décor. A separate room for the "business" center is a plus. There is a free book "exchange" bookcase in the lobby. The breakfast area is nicely separated from the lobby--it is not an overly large area but has an open feel. The breakfast staff kept the room very clean & well stocked. The fare was standard--avg. to above avg. in good quantity--hot things hot--cold things cold, etc. Check-in was fast--had reservation; staff friendly-gave good restaurant tip. Room #303 is spacious, has a comfortable bed with 6 pillows, has a comfortable couch, 2 suitcase spots (1 stand & 1 bench) a big plus, a bathtub/shower --a big plus in our book, vanity is separate from the toilet/tub room- another plus, microwave & a "texas" sized mini fridge, 2 complimentary bottles of water, the tv remote is in a "clean" bag", the 3rd floor is pet free--a very good idea for those of us that love pets but do not want to see, hear, or smell other people's animals. Two negatives: the elevator is slow & very noisy--would not want a room nearby and this hotel is very close to a quite busy railroad line (heavy freight)--it is not a "quiet zone" area so one might want to use the offered, complimentary earplugs if one does not enjoy railroad "music" through the night. Overall, a very good experience and would gladly stay here again.
When we pass through this area, we always try and stay at this hotel. Not only is it clean but the people there are so friendly. The breakfast is delicious and the hospitality is even better. This should be an example for all hotels.
Recently remodeled very clean and such a great friendly staff. PET FRIENDLY. Pool, hot tub and workout room are all nicely taken care of. Right on the corner on Hwy 287 and Hwy 70S Complimentary continental breakfast and newspaper
Always a good place to stay. Easy to made reservations at any Best Western. The points add up fast. The Red River Inn Best Western is a favorite place to stay. We stay at the Red River Inn very often.
We stayed here for a family reunion along with several other family members. The facility is pretty new so it's clean and well maintained. We had a pizza and beer party in the breakfast room in the evening, It was nice to have a place we could all get together out of the Texas heat.
We stayed just one night but it was clean and quiet and had a fair breakfast. Rates were a little high I thought for the room size and amenities but isnt everything? Overall its the best place to stay in Clarendon. Its short on decent places to eat unless you enjoy fast food, we don't.
We have stayed at this hotel for years, 10 plus times every year. Always friendly and helpful staff, the staff are long time employees. Rooms are clean and fresh don't look worn. Breakfast choices are extensive and the breakfast bar is replenished constantly. Accepts pets, our dog even know where the pet friendly room are located. If you are in the area this is the place to stay.
We have stopped at this hotel ever since it was new, when traveling back and forth to Austin. Clean, well managed and a good breakfast. Floor 3 has no pets which I appreciate with allergies. Good stopping off point.
My parents reserved a room on the 3rd floor and Susan informed them that they wouldnt be able to stay in the room with their pet. Susan went above and beyond to make sure my parents and the kids were completely satisfied with the room they had to switch to on the 2nd floor. She found them sheets and a pillows to ensure their comfort. My parents could not stop complimenting how wonderful Susan was when they checked in last night (3-16-19 at 9ish pm). She deserves a raise for handling things so eloquently!
We were driving with a trailer from Dallas to Amarillo. The fog got so bad we decided we had to stop. We were just outside of Clarendon so went online and found this Best Western. When we pulled in we had to have two rooms and thankfully they had two available. They kindly honored our AAA discount and we tumbled into our beds. The beds were comfortable and the rooms clean and pretty new. A complimentary breakfast started at 6:30 a.m. It was fine, pretty standard, nothing special but like the rooms did the trick. The employee minding the breakfast area was helpful and immediately refreshed something when I asked. Tips: A nice place to stop on a road trip Hospitality Factor: Good. The staff was well trained and helpful.
Decided to spend the night at this property after passing by on many previous trips. Turned out to be an excellent choice. Facility was very clean and well maintained. Breakfast had more selections than most other Best Westerns I have frequented. Overall, this property could be used as a model for many other properties. Price was a bit higher than generally paid on this route, but worth it
If this is a BW Plus, then BW's idea of what Plus means is different than mine. Pool and hottub were not working; no price break. Way, way, way overpriced. Cheap powdered eggs at breakfast; first floor carpet ragged at ends; water pressure goes away in the morning if more than 2 people in the hotel are showering. BIG disappointment for a building that looks new; but looks are deceiving. Staff was friendly but one has to wonder if it is because they know they are ripping ppl off so bad.
Nice, clean, quiet and a great breakfast. I highly recommend this location. I would stay here again. Was there Christmas Eve. Beautiful Christmasn atmosphere. Helpful staff. Not the cheapest but well worth the extra.
My wife and I stayed here while visiting family for Christmas. The room was a little expensive compared to other hotels I have stayed at. However this has been one of the better hotels I've been in lately. Only four stars because you could smell natural gas at the front office when they were doing laundry and because the elevator sounds and felt like it was going to break at any moment.
The hotel was nice but not worth the extra money for a BW Plus. The room was clean and spacious. The bed was comfortable but the sheets had some stains. Breakfast was good but nothing special. A plastic sigh in the room said to ask for complimentary toiletries if you forgot something. When we asked at the front desk all the items were for sale. Won't stay there again.
I cannot say enough about how pleased we were with our stay. Even though we were there for my father's funeral the staff was very professional and accomodating. They have the best staff and the best breakfast anywhere in that area, hands down. Top Notch and A+++++
Trucker friendly hotel with an extremely friendly and courteous staff. Large dirt lot for semi parking adjacent to hotel although the lot is uneven and has some huge ruts / holes. Clerk said the hotel was 13 years old but it looks and feels brand new. Immaculately clean with large spacious rooms. Reliable fast wireless internet. Sonic and Pizza Hut next door with a truck stop convenience store across the highway. Will definitely be back to stay at this property again.
This Best Western Hotel is our halfway point for our travels to and from Houston, TX. The rooms are clean & comfortable, wonderful staff, and of course, great breakfast!! The highway and railway is very near but you don't really notice.
Convenient stop ...for quick layover on trip home. Clean room. Good breakfast. Friendly and helpful staff. Nice shower and amenities in room. We did not have a reservation as it was an unplanned stop but staff was great.
Nice clean hotel with good breakfast. Friendly staff. Good location across the street from college. Will be staying here a frequently the next two years due to child in college. Rooms are larger than normal hotel rooms.
First impressions are important at a hotel and the lady at the front desk was so very unfriendly and rude that if I had not been driving all day I would of left and gone elsewhere. The room could of been cleaner and the toilet was not bolted to the floor well. The bed was fairly comfortable and that was the only nice part of the room. The top bedding looked like it needed a wash.Breakfast was fair. They ran out of eggs and bacon and we waited for a long time before they made more.I would not recommend this place at all. There is no where to eat near the hotel but a Pizza Hut and it was so full of flies we could not eat in there! The price we paid was ridiculous for what we got! We stayed at another Best Western near Palo Duro Canyon the night before and it was a much nicer place and more reasonable!
For those travelling from Amarillo to the Dallas-Ft. Worth area, there are few motel options. The Best Western Plus Red River Inn is a most welcome option ... the price is good, the rooms are clean, the front desk service is excellent and the accommodation overall is just what a weary traveler needs.
Our family has stayed at this Clarendon Best Western for 5 years and it has been consistently a great place. This year with 5 people, we rented a room with 3 queen beds - plenty of room & a great stay.
We stayed 1 night on our return trip to Texas after a 14 day Bike Trip to the Pacific Coast. Check in was easy although she was not familiar with how to apply a Best Western Reward Voucher to our room. It was easily taken care of the next morning. The hotel was fresh and clean. Our room was nice, very clean, soft linens and a very comfortable bed and pillows. The breakfast provided was very fresh and the eating area was nice and clean.
I think many of the reviews are overstated, "...an oasis in the prairie." "Best hotel between Amarillo and Ft. Worth." The hotel was nice and the staff friendly and helpful. It seemed overpriced, but I guess they can ask more since the alternatives are limited. The room smelled musty/wet. Otherwise ok
Traveling from Texas to Lawton, Ok we were caught in a storm pelting us with rain then hail. We'd passed this BW & turned back as we didn't know the area. My husband asked for a handicap room as I have a hard time getting up & down. The clerk was superb in checking it out & give us one. We settled into a spacious, clean, room & watched the storm. Later we ventured out to get pizza & when we come back the hotel was completely filled. It is a nice hotel, quiet considering the highway is near by. Noting extra special but people working there answered our questions & were friendly. Breakfast is like most BW one's but good amount to chose from so you can continue your journey without stopping for sometime. Would stay there again.
We arrived around 6 PM and got our room. Just after that the hotel sold out! Beds were comfy. We found the air conditioner/heater unit to be quite noisy all night long. The place was packed for breakfast and had an overflow room to accommodate everyone. Over all, a pleasant experience.
The courteous, friendly, yet professional staff make you feel welcomed like a long absent family member. They are very knowledgeable about the area and can make helpful suggestions about places of interest. This is a great place to stop and feel secure in your surroundings.
I've traveled through here for years and always enjoy my stay at the Best Western Plus Red River Inn! Clean, quiet, and great beds...always a welcome stop. If you are passing through Clarendon, TX, this is the place to stay, can't go wrong.
We were coming back from a trip to Colorado to Dallas, TX and reserved this hotel in Clarendon TX. The hotel is really nice for the area but it was just small little things that need improvements. For one out room was not properly cleaned. we were walking around barefoot and there was dried mud all over the carpet and we found bottle caps on the floor which just goes to show the room had not been properly cleaned,
Friendly staff, Clean Rooms, Fast Service, I would recommend and stay again in future visits. The rooms were great and the breakfast was wonderful, the whole family really enjoyed out stay while here.
We have stayed here several times and the staff is friendly and keeps the place clean. Pet friendly too. Normal hotel free breakfast and good coffee. Clean indoor pool with jacuzzi. Small parking lot so only room for a couple of large vehicles or trailers.
I have no doubt stayed in more exclusive hotels but NEVER in a hotel that was better run nor a place where the staff nicer thanks Best Western in Clarendon tx I would recommend this hotel to anyone if you are ever in this area I strongly urge you to give it a try you will not be disappointed
clean and comfortable. Rooms were good breakfast was such that we bought elsewhere. Good for a break on a long drive. Open twenty four hours. If you want to use the pool or hot tub you must give the staff advanced notice.
Arrived immediately before a extremely cold front and we needed all levels of assistance to get back on the road. Such as melting ice from our windshield including containers to carry the cold water to the car. On the return trip, they started the jacuzzi early for relaxation and the found and kept our personal items from our first night to the return trip. We became friends right then and there.
We have stayed in this hotel many times on our way to Dallas. The hotel is the best place to stay but there are some things that could be better. The beds are comfortable and if you like a cool room, ask for an extra blanket. This time there was something wrong with the refrigerator or tv as every 45 minuets it would loudly whine. Very Annoying! Also the lighting in the vanity area is terrible! You can barely see your face to shave or put on makeup.
The place inside and out was decorated quite nicely for Christmas. The room was clean and comfortable. The staff was pleasant and helpful and acted professionally. When traveling we would definitely stay there again.
I stayed here a few years ago and was not hesitant to stay here again when I was back driving in this area. I rarely give out either one circle or five circle ratings, but this hotel deserves it! Everything is exactly as you would hope it would be. The beds are comfortable, the rooms are sparkling clean, well decorated, and properly maintained. The staff are courteous and helpful (Susan was very polite and professional at check-in). The complimentary breakfast was more than sufficient to my needs (I'm not a big fan of the powdered eggs but the biscuits and gravy were a welcome addition). If you're looking for a great hotel at a reasonable rate in this area, I highly recommend the Red River Inn. Kudos to the team - well done!
Pool was out of order, which the kids were looking forward to. Otherwise it was fine. The breakfast used powdered eggs, sadly, but I haven't found better elsewhere. The location is convenient and parking is adequate if you aren't pulling a trailer.
Clean and comfortable rooms with a decent breakfast complementary breakfast. The elevator will drive you mad! It is extremely slow and possibly malfunctioning as I had to press the button to call the elevator twice on two occasions because it reset on me without coming to my floor.
Great place to stay. Friendly and clean. Breakfast was hot and fresh. Rooms where very spacious and up to date. They also had great recommendations for local restaurants in the area for dinner. Location was safe
We spent one night after traveling all day across Texas. This place was perfect! Friendly check-in, clean, nice large room with mini-fridge, sofa and king bed. They even had two bottles of water (complimentary), coffee in the room and good quality soaps and shampoo. The railroad tracks were close but it was not an issue-all towns in this area are along the railroad. In the morning, the breakfast was more than what is usually considered "continental". I particularly enjoyed the cowboy omelet. Of course, the Texas-shaped waffle iron was a good touch for those traveling with kids. I would highly recommend this little "oasis" in the Texas prairie.
This room was one of 31 nightly stays we had over the past year. It was an average room. We were given ear plugs which we thought was unusual until a freight train passed directly behind our room around 3:00 AM. Greeting us upon arrival was a swarm of LOCUSTS! Crickets were also loud and annoying. Would not recommend this hotel.
Very nice place, friendly staff, room was clean and comfortable, nice beds and pillows. Also have a fridge and microwave in the rooms. They have an indoor pool and hot tub. Exercise room with treadmill, exercise bike, and a weight machine. The breakfast bar in the morning was very good. They had a waffle maker, bacon, eggs, omelets, sausage, and of course other stuff as fruit and yogurt. Next door is a Pizza Hut and a Sonic for dinner. I will definitely return to this hotel.
Convenient to our travel route, clean, friendly, good value. Rooms were clean and neat, as was the entire facility. Service staff were very proactive and engaging. The hotel was quiet and happily accommodated our small dog.
Best hotel in the area, takes dogs! Very comfortable room, clean bathroom, great beds and pillows. Internet, great TV and they have water in the room for you and a hot breakfast. very easy to find, not many restaurants open late but there is a Sonic next door and other restaurants that close around 9 pm.
My husband & I spent a night in this hotel on our way home to North Texas from Red River NM. The room was large & clean & I appreciated the 2nd sink & vanity in addition to the one in the bathroom. The staff members were professional & friendly & breakfast was good. We will definitely stay here again.
We were pleased with our stay. The room was clean, the staff was friendly, breakfast was as expected for a BW, and the fitness room had a treadmill, elliptical, and weight machine. There are not a lot of choices in the area, but this hotel was nice for the price.
Best hotel in Clarendon. Friendly staff, clean rooms, great breakfast, easy access to highway 70 and 287 as well as town. Reasonable prices and well maintained. Look forward to staying here again soon.
I love this Best Western. Hands down they go up and beyond to make sure my stay is a comfortable one. My little dog even loves staying here. She feels so comfortable here. She doesn't bark when we have to leave the room. There's a nice grass area for her to do her business. I just hope those who stay here will pick up after their pets so that they will always have an area for our furbabies.
Our stop in Clarendon was an overnight, but we did not expect the high level of service we received here. Not only was all the staff friendly, everyone going out of their way to make our stay comfortable, but we were thanked multiple times for stopping with then. There is some truck noise from the highway, quite busy, but with the AC blower on and earplugs, we were never disturbed. The bed was comfortable and the facility was exceptionally clean and well-maintained. Cleanliness and maintenance seem to be outstanding at all the Best Westerns we have used, by the way. If ever in Clarendon again, we know where to go and it will be back to this location.
This is not exactly New York City but this is a very nice hotel for Clarendon, TX. The people are nice, the property is nice, the rooms are nice and clean and the breakfast is better than most hotels at this price level.
Everything was pretty muc as expected The pool and hot tub were not working again as this is third time here that it was not working which makes me wonder if it is always down or do I just have bad timing
Clarendon, Texas, is a small town in the Texas Panhandle. At the local supermarket, we asked where we should stay, and three checkout people uniformly said the Best Western Plus. They probably took one look at us and realized we were city slickers. Regardless, the Best Western Plus is new, clean, quiet, and NO-SMOKING. The next morning, we drove through town and confirmed that there were no other hotels other than, maybe, a couple of dives. So thank you Best Western for operating a decent hotel in a lonely Texas town.
This is the second time we have stayed at this Best Western. Both times the staff has been so welcoming and cordial. This is a relatively new establishment, and it is clean and comfortable. After a long day's drive, the bed was so welcome. It was just perfect! The hot breakfast was more than adequate--and quite good. There are not many places to stay along this stretch of US 287, and this is certainly one of the best!
Our stay at The Best Western Hotel in Clarendon,TX was very pleasant and restful. The hotel is in a convenient location. The staff are pleasant, friendly and accommodating. The rooms are well kept as are the grounds and the building itself. We have nothing of good comments about our stay at the hotel.
Always friendly staff, we travel with our dog and they have rooms that are by the back door so you don't have to use the elevator or walk through the lobby to get outside. Nice variety of breakfast items.
Coming across the Panhandle of Texas going home, we were surprised to see this new motel in this very small (less than 3000 population) town. There was only one sit down restaurant there. Everything was clean and in working order. The staff were friendly and helpful. Overall good experience.
Drove as long as I could today so Clarendon was it. The room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast was good as well. There was an indoor pool, but we did not use it. The staff was very friendly. I would recommend this hotel.
Staff was very accommodating, room very clean and comfortable, quiet area no outside traffic noise, spa and pool nice and clean. Breakfast great with good selections of cereals and other items. Parking safe and secure easy access to and from highway.
nice place to stay, updated, clean, nice staff and comfortable pillows and bed. Water bottles in room thought that was nice touch, big room like that the bathroom is separate from sink area for more that one person getting ready.
If you want a great night's sleep and a good breakfast, this is your place. The bedding was clean and comfortable, and the breakfast was more then just your ordinary continental. We always know we can depend on Best Western Plus Red River Inn in Clarendon.
We stop in Clarendon on the way home to Dallas from Colorado. This was our third annual one night stay at the Best Western. Helpful staff at check in, comfortable room with good AC, nice bed and bath linens and European style showerhead. Not noisy; our room was on third floor which is a "no pets" floor. Did not sample the comp breakfast because we wanted an early start home. Reservations in the summer travel months are advisable; no vacancy the night we stayed.
From the friendly greeting by the reception desk to the incredible cleanliness, this place has to be the best hotel from Dallas to Amarillo along Hwy 287! First thing I notice is the smell of a motel/hotel, and this place has none! It's just CLEAN, CLEAN! The breakfast was good with lots of offerings including waffles, bacon, sausage, good coffee, and a helping of sweetness by the server! It was quiet, too; none of those loud-mouth visitors who slam doors and blab away past midnight like you find on the major-interstate motels. Canvas paintings by the amazing artist Kenneth Wyatt line the corridors and are for sale. They are exceptional works and worth your time to examine! I look forward to staying here again FOR SURE!
We always stay here during our trips to Colorado. Very clean with a caring staff. Comfortable rooms, good breakfast, and well cared for facility. More hotels should have a staff that cares as much as the employees at this Best Western.
The Red River Inn has been a stop for our family for many years. I think that it has only improved over time. We enjoyed being in Clarendon as a stop on the way back home from NM and found the room, the staff and breakfast a good value. Thanks for a good stop on the way back to Dallas!
Very comfortable room and bed. Very quiet considering the location on a noisy state highway. The room rates are extreme, but it seems to be the newest, cleanest motel in town. Best Western has done a good job in renovating their properties.
The staff was most helpful and accommodating in helping us find our way plus finding a place to eat. They were courteous and most welcoming. They are located in an easy on easy off location. The rooms are spacious and quiet.
Its not often I choose to stay in Clarendon, TX, but it sure beats staying in Amarillo, TX, that is for sure .... This place has been on my radar for years, but I never had the opportunity or necessity to stay, but on this trip it was smack dab on my radar for a place for the night .... and it didn't hurt that the property was pet friendly as well, as I had my two golden retrievers with me .... We arrived and the place was a wonderful and delightful find .... Still fairly new all around, with a tremendous and friendly staff that greeted us, and a clean and beautiful property to call the night home for one evening .... A bargain for the price, with a nice breakfast in the AM, it was as clean and accommodating as I can describe .... I'd recommend it to anyone !
Very nice hotel in an area without much lodging to offer. I will definitely stay here next time I am in this area. this hotel was recommended by other travelers and all their comments were correct. thanks
Excellent hotel! I would highly recommend it!!! My daughter & I stay at BW on our trips from Colorado to Texas at least 8-10 times/yr. She looks forward to getting in the hot tub & indoor pool!! Thank you so much BW!
In the small town of Clarendon you will see there are not a lot of options for staying in a hotel (only 2) but thinking this one being the newer one than the other one. You would expect a better room, but that wasn't the case. Our room floor was wet and the smell of the room was terrible to breath and the bed was like sleeping on a rock. We asked for another room but of course all rooms where taken...with no other choice my family and I had to stay in the room.
The carpet was wet in the guest room. There was a fan in the hallway trying to dry the carpet there. The AC did not pull humidity from the air leaving us feeling wet the entire time we were in the room. Sheets were uncomfortable. Waffle was pasty. Overall this was a miserable weekend.
Will definitely stay there again! Will be stay there again this very next week. Would definitely use for a vacation trip with the family. Great group of staff and very helpful! Enjoyed my stay and would recommend.
Staff excellent. Room decor, cleanliness and comfort perfect! Breakfast assortment and quality would delight even the pickiest diner. Pool, Fitness Center and high speed wifi will add to the comfort of your stay.
I stopped here for one night passing through and was very happy with my stay. The room was spacious and clean. The front clerk desk was very friendly and helpful in telling what was close by to eat. The thai place down the street was amazing. The parking lot is well lit and I felt safe leaving my vehicle parked there. A great option, would stay here again.
Very nice, clean hotel. Room was clean and very well appointed. However, a good night's sleep is impossible unless you are exhausted. With the hotel adjacent to the highway, the constant truck traffic makes the room unbearably noisy. And single pane windows don't help.
Driving cross country and Clarendon happened to be the right place we needed to stop for the night. Wow, what a surprise. The pillows and bedding were so comfortable that we were talking about them after check out the next morning. We arrived at midnight and left by 8 the next morning, so didn't stay that long. But we will definitely stay here again on the next trip!
This was our last night before returning home from a 10 day vacation to Colorado. Called while on the road to get a room and they had a 2 queen bed room. This was by far the best hotel we stayed in while on vacation. The front desk was very friendly at check-in and also the next morning at check-out. Room was extremely clean. Breakfast was SUPER!! This will be our new place to stay when traveling this way again.
We were on 2 motorcycles (smaller than full size dressers) with an approaching storm. We were not allowed to park under the awning by the entrance even though we were completely out of the way. A huge bus could have driven in and had plenty of room. 1st time in over 200 hotel stays this ever happened. Be more flexible.
Beautiful, country feeling hotel. Very clean. Check in was a breeze. I was traveling alone and felt very comfortable here. Breakfast was very good. Easy check in and check out. Very nice check-in area.
Our experience at Best Western was outstanding! The hotel is maintained very well; almost new status. I stayed there approximately 4 1/2 years ago. The hotel staff were outstanding! The only thing was the juice machine wasn't working correctly. We highly recommend Best Western Plus Red River Inn!
My husband and I travel from Texas to New Mexico during the summer months and generally take the same route: Highway 287 North from Corsicana, Texas into New Mexico. Since we're riding a motorcycle, and we have Best Western travel cards, we like to use Best Western as much as possible along the way. I was charged $290.00 for a $115.94 room because of staff errors, and I'm still struggling to get credits on my credit card. The manager has refused to help me, and even though Best Western Travel Customer Service has been excellent and solved their mistakes regarding my billing, they continue to refuse to give me a credit. They switched amounts on two customers travel cards even though customer service documented their error. Don't stop here.
Clarendon isn't on a major interstate and while this is a small town, this hotel competes with the larger ones in Amarillo. Don't hesitate to stay here. It's a good stop. The staff is friendly and will be glad to direct you to restaurants and local places of interest.
Late check in with a very accommodating, professional staff. Beds were like sleeping on clouds. Rooms were clean and well stocked. Thank you for being an excellent home away from home. Perfect find on US 287. Breakfast was perfect with Texas sized waffles.
After driving for 11 hours, all we wanted was a good night's sleep for the next long day of driving. Didn't happen. Loud noises from trains and industrial trucks all night long kept waking us and was so disappointing., Also, wifi was not working which was super inconvenient.
Great stay. First time we stayed here. The other Best Western stopped taking pets. So we drove a little bit further and it was great. Location, town, and just everything was good. Hope to stay here soon.
I don't give excellent reviews, just don't. But I couldn't resist. My daughter & infant grandson were stranded in this town. The car alternator went out, on a holiday weekend, after dark. This group of ladies are the best. They made it okay. We were safe, they were kind and understanding, so helpful with everything. The room was great, clean, quiet, breakfast was great. Customer Service friendly doesn't begin to describe it. One lady searched her truck for a tool to help us. They offered to get us food or drinks when we finished changing the alternator since a few of us missed breakfast. I am indebted to you ladies. You made our stay worry free!
This is a very nice hotel. Our room was spacious and clean, the beds were very comfortable and it was very quiet. It was a very enjoyable stay. I will be staying here instead of Amarillo. You can not beat the price. Highly recommend it. Clarendon does not have a lot of places to eat, but I would still stay here
Friendly, nice amenities, excellent breakfast and great staff.Loacation close to our weekend needs.Churches close by .JD Steakhouse very good food and staff which is close to hotel. A genuine and relaxing experience.
Was driving from Colorado back to Texas so spotted the billboard about this hotel. Since I prefer Best Westerns, I opted to stop and spend the night. The staff was very friendly, helpful and courteous; the facility was clean; the bed was very comfortable and the breakfast was vey nice. Should I be in this area again, I would definitely stay here.
We have stayed here every time we have come to Clarendon. Very comfortable stay. Unexpectedly nice hotel for such a small town. Good breakfast, indoor pool, perfect for families. Always clean and staff is super friendly.
Best Western Plus is usually a good bet but this was an excellent surprise. A very modern and well kept facility with a knowledgeable staff. The indoor pool was refreshing but there are kids there so don't let that bother you. We slept late but the breakfast lady was still working hard and fast to keep everything fresh. This is a true oasis. If it looks like you will stop in the area I would recommend calling to reserve a room.
Military rate was a money saver. Rooms are really clean and the breakfast was great. One of the cleanest rooms I've ever stayed at. The showers are nice and clean. Two queens very comfortable and linen was stain free. Would stay here again no regrets.
Stopped to spend the night here after visiting Caprock Canyon. It was a little out of the way but it was worth the trip. The rooms were great and it made the stay more enjoyable. The breakfast was really good compared to other times we have stayed at Best Western's.
Look no further, Best Western Plus in Clarendon is fantastic and worth every penny. The rooms are spotless, big, and most importantly comfortable. The staff are great. The breakfast is far superior than any other interstate hotel we've stayed at. We were so comfortable we didn't want to get back on the road. We'll be back!
Clarendon is very small town outside of Amarillo. This is the best place to stay. It is a nice place. This time, though the bedding was very skimpy and we had to turn up the heat to stay warm. Don't remember having this problem when we have stayed here in November or December in other years.
Great breakfast, good bed, large room. Not many restaurants in the area. This hotel is outside of Amarillo and a quiet place to spend the night. We were very comfortable there and breakfast was excellent with eggs, bacon, sausage and omelets!
My family of five stayed here for 5 days during a recent hunting trip. There aren't many options in Clarendon but there is no need to look any further. This hotel was great in every aspect. The room had plenty of room and was very clean and comfortable. The breakfast was hot and fresh and enough choices to eat something different daily. The service was also great and very accommodating. Highly recommend.
I highly recommend this hotel. The room was great and it was the best night sleep! My husband was really pleased with the pillows and the shower was wonderful! The breakfast was the best and they serve breakfast until 10:00. It was awesome!
We spent on night here while traveling. I had heard good reviews, but was still surprised at the excellence of this hotel: clean, quiet, great breakfast with several hot choices, very welcoming and helpful staff. I can't think of anything that could have been improved.
Wonderful. Super staff and a great hotel located in a small town. Welcoming and quiet. Offered a full line up of movies on the large TV. Many people used the pool and spa. Breakfast offered many food choices, all deluxe.
I stayed here one night while traveling from Colorado to Texas. The staff was very friendly. The rooms were nicer than I expected. The free breakfast in the lobby was spot on. The stretch between Houston, TX and Colorado is pretty long and this hotel is a great halfway point. This is a small property. The hotel had ample parking. I would recommend staying here. Great value as well.
I usually stay at a Holiday Inn Express for the points, but there were none in Clarendon. Instead, I was very comfortable in Room 101 at this Best Western. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. There was a microwave and refrigerator. Very capable desk staff and full breakfast. I had a yoghurt and a delicious muffin. For dinner, I was advised that Grumpy's Pizza delivers and, though they were an hour late, the pizza was edible. I would stay here again. Good value.
We have been traveling back and forth from Louisiana to Colorado for 11 years now, along Hwy 287 and have stopped in many towns and stayed in many different hotels. Many more choices now, than in 2005!! Time/distance wise, Clarendon happened to work for us, on this particular trip. We we were very happy with Best Western Red River Inn. The feel of the hotel is warm, the employees friendly and our room was very clean, comfortable and quiet. We hope to have the chance to stay here again!!!
This was a very pretty facility. The rooms were very clean and quite. There was an indoor swimming pool and a beautiful lobby. The hot breakfast was presented very nicely and it was very easy to access the freeway.
Rooms were well done. Bed was comfortable. Friendly and efficiency check in and out. Breakfast adequate and clean. Good on site lighted parking. Wifi worked well and easy to access. We will return on our way home from Colorado.
The Best Western in Clarendon was as advertised. It was clean, bright and comfortable. Will stay again when we are in the area. Breakfast was good! Nice variety. Would have maybe liked to have seen more fruit offered if I had to find anything wrong with it! GREAT coffee! Pool/hot tub were relaxing.
This is a great place to stay en route to either Caprock Canyons State Park or as a point in between your journey. There are several places to eat nearby and it is right off the main road through Clarendon, Texas. It has an indoor pool and a typical free breakfast.
We stopped here on our way to California. We had driven all night and were exhausted and could not drive anymore so we booked this hotel on my phone and stumbled in for the night. I literally did stumble into the lobby and the clerk at the front desk looked at me like she thought I was drunk and was a little rude to me asking if I had a reservation. I was too tired to care, so I finished checking in and we went to our room and crashed. The next morning we ate breakfast and got back on the road. The breakfast was great, there were lots of things to choose from. And they had Texas shaped waffles.
After a very long day of driving our Penske Truck rental we were happy to settle in at the Best Western for a very restful night. Enjoyed the pool and spa and felt rejuvenated for the next day of driving.
A wonderful, newly appointed hotel in Clarenden,TX . We expected to stay in an aged facility in a small town enroute to Santa Fe, New Mexico but were pleasantly surprised to find that our Best Western Plus was modern, u p to date and absolutely comfortable with a nice free breakfast to boot! Should we head out west again we will make it a point to stop along the way at this hotel.
Rooms were nice, staff very pleasant. The continental breakfast was more than adequate, plenty of hot and cold food options, though nothing too special. Stayed on first floor and could definitely hear people above, probably stay on top floor if you're a light sleeper.
A very attractive property. A very pleasant stay. Unfortunately I could only stay one night. I would have stayed several nights but had to travel on because of my schedule. I expect to return to stay at this hotel again when my schedule permits..
My wife and I stayed here on a stopover during a 4 day trip. The hotel was conveniently located. The hotel is very nice. The rooms are clean and comfortable and the breakfast was better than most hotel breakfasts. Not much in the way of food nearby. Avoid the Sonic next door. Used reward points so I can't comment on the cost.
Very nice hotel. The lobby is impressive. The room was clean, comfortable and very nice. The front desk girl was really nice and helpful and the breakfast was very good. Just don't eat at the Sonic next door.
The hotel is located directly on highway 287, so see to find. All the places to eat are within a short distance. The hotel is clean, well maintained, nice size rooms, friendly staff. Actually quite even though on the highway. There is a library if you would like to read and take the book with you. Frog(nice size in room and coffee. Breakfast is adequate. Easy parking. Not much to not like. Pricing is competitive
Best and newest hotel in town. High speed internet and breakfast included in the price of the room. There is a nice indoor pool. Easy access to State Hwy 287 and several eating establishments within walking distance including Pizza Hut and Dairy Queen. Clarendon is a nice small town and good place to stop and shop with several small family owned businesses as well as a Dollar store and grocery/hardware store.
We stayed at this hotel a few years ago and had positive experience. The rooms are clean, the beds are comfortable (a pillowtop would be even better), and the hotel is convenient to everything in this small town. The hotel is pet friendly although the 3rd floor is off-limits to our furry companions. My only problem was with the orange juice at breakfast. It tasted liked orange flavored water instead of juice made from concentrate. Rest of breakfast was OK ( waffles, biscuits with gravy, eggs, yogurt, muffins, toast). They had bacon which was a pleasant surprise as I get tired of sausages.
We booked this room en route from Colorado to Texas. We were looking for a clean, quiet, comfortable room with breakfast. This place exceeded our expectations. The staff was so friendly and thanked us many times for staying with them. The room was immaculate and comfortable, and the hot breakfast was quite tasty. We highly recommend this establishment!
We selected this town because it was a suitable stop to break up our long-distance vacation travel. We selected Best Western because we expected nice accommodations, and we weren't disappointed. A pleasant swim in a warm pool. A restful sleep in a comfortable bed. A pleasant breakfast. And we were thoroughly refreshed for another day of travel.
Excellent big breakfast; friendly staff; nice looking indoor pool(although I didn't use since I arrived at 1:30 am and left after breakfast to finish driving home) ; big clean room with comfortable bed, microwave and refrig; toiletries; I would definitely stay overnight again or refer a friend if travelling from CO to TX. I was returning home driving alone after dropping my son at school in Boulder, I passed Amarillo and needed a place to sleep. I pleasantly and luckily discovered this hotel.
At a friend's recommendation, stayed one night on drive from Dallas to Santa Fe. Excellent hotel, quiet, very clean room, comfortable bed, included breakfast. Staff was welcoming and helpful. Only drawback is lack of restaurants in Clarendon. Will definitely stay there again.
Stayed there last night. All of the staff that I encountered were very friendly and accommodating. The room felt crisp and clean. They have some rooms that are dog friendly and we had our two small dogs with us. The breakfast was fresh and tasty.
Traveling alone, I found this hotel to be an excellent place to stop with my dog. Breakfast was good and staff very friendly. Hotel is new and very clean. There is a Sonic next door and a field in which a dog could run.
Despite arriving late at night, the staff was helpful in processing our request for a room. Our cats were surprisingly comfortable in the studio, which was a relief. We only stayed one night, but the accommodations were excellent and breakfast was great.
This hotel is extremely beautiful. The room's are great and the decor is excellent. The bed was extremely comfortable. Wish we could have stayed longer than 1 night. This was a stop on our way to Colorado.
We are traveling cross country and not sure where we will end up each night. So happy we ended up here. Great facility. Leslie welcomed us and even let us know about the special that Best Western is currently offering. One we will be able to take advantage of on this trip. Rooms were spotless. Breakfast was a real treat. If we come back through this way again, we would stay here again.
This is the best place to stay in Clarendon. It's always kept in top notch order; clean and comfortable, as well as, the landscaping. The handicap rooms are spacious. The morning breakfast has variety and is delicious. Easy access off the highway.
The Red River Inn is just off US287 and is a nice place to stay for visiting or touring the museums and sites in that part of Texas. The staff is friendly, and very helpful. Breakfast was good; but did not exceed the breakfast found at other Best Western Properties.
It had been many years since we had stayed at a Best Western. We were unable to get reservations in our usual brand a few more miles down the road so we decided to stop here. What a nice surprise! The hotel is very well appointed and the rooms are attractive and very clean. My favorite part of our room was the comfortable chair complete with a foot rest and nice reading lamp. This is a pet friendly hotel but we were glad that the 3rd floor is a pet free zone since we have animal dander issues. Very nice selection at breakfast. The front desk staff was very helpful and discovered we still have Best Western points after all these years!
I don't give many reviews. Mainly because it's been said already most of the time. This is an excellent facility. It is the only quality motel in this town and is frequently sold out so call as soon as you know you will be there. Read the other reviews for details. It's all good.
We rolled into Clarendon at about 9:00 PM after a long day of driving. We found that our room at the Best Western Plus Red River Inn was clean, comfortable, and well-maintained. We appreciated that the housekeeping staff thought to leave the A/C on so that the room temperature was comfortable upon our arrival. All 3 members of my family slept well. The rooms were quiet and the beds were comfortable. Given the hour of our arrival, we did not use any of the hotel's other amenities, including the pool or even the TV. The only things that keep this hotel from receiving a "5" rating are unrelated to room comfort or sleep quality. The wifi seemed overwhelmed at times, parts of the decor seemed dated, and the quality of the breakfast food seemed lackluster (although there was plenty of variety of breakfast foods). All told, we were pleased with our stay and would recommend to friends.
Great hotel, nice staff, clean. Breakfast was nice, good variety. Kept the food refilled as people ate. Wonderful beds. Great area since it is past Amarillo so quieter and nice small town. Pizza Hut next door & Sonic close by. Hotel was full but was pretty quiet .
This was our one night stopover between Red River, NM and Dallas. Very clean and well kept property, nice friendly welcoming employees, lobby and hallways are decorated with beautiful artwork by Kenneth Wyatt, and a good breakfast. Please note that there are very few restaurants in the area. Most are fast food or close at 8 pm during weekdays. No nearby grocery store to buy snacks. And, even though this is a Plus BW, they do not stock any heathy snacks or small dinners you can heat in the microwave. You better eat dinner before arriving in town or have your own snacks and dinner packed to bring with you. Otherwise you may go to bed hungry.
This hotel was very clean and had a nice pool. They also offered bacon at breakfast and that was a plus for my family. The beds were comfortable and we actually slept through our alarms because we were so comfy!
Our family of 5 stayed here for one night on our way to Colorado. We LOVED our room with three queen beds. Our son always gets stuck on the lumpy pullout couch when we stay in motels. He was so excited to get a real bed. The room was clean and the beds were comfortable. Everyone slept well!
Front desk staff were smiling and happy. I loved that this hotel has a floor (3rd) dedicated to no pets. So no smell of pets or animal stains on the floor or strong cleaning chemcials trying to hide smells. The breakfast was very nice and tasty with good choices. We did not use the pool but it was nice to look at. Inside and clean. I would stay here again. I would recommend this hotel.
Very nice place to stay. Very nice hotel right on 287. Lovely to have such a great place in a small town. If you are traveling through, plan on staying here. You won't be disappointed. Drove 500 miles across Texas to join family for a reunion, and after a long day of driving it was great to have a nice bed to sleep in. Even got to watch a great light show out the window, as a big storm came through.
All around clean and nice place to stay overnight when travelling in this area. Close to fast food or a couple of restaurants. Also perfect when travelling with pets where they have designated floors for this purpose.
This Best Western was a very nice hotel. The ladies at the front desk were very helpful in getting us set up with a room even though we didn't have a reservation. We were able to use some our points to get this night free with our loyalty points.
I have stayed in this hotel 4 times over the last 5 years. Each stay was excellent. Location allowed easy access from the highway. Staff was always friendly and efficient. Food was well prepared and tasty. I will return in the future.
You would think a small town would not have excellent accomadations but Clarendon has got it.. The Best Western I great from start to finish.. The grounds are very well kept.. The front desk folks are super helpful. Most important to me is the room cleanliness.. It was perfect.. I know I am starting to sound like a broken record but this BW is the very best I have stayed in and I travel a great deal. I noticed when checking in that they were full for the night.. During the week and nothing going on!! Be sure to make your reservations or you may need to stay at their competition down the street called Better than nothing! I am not kidding.. You will not be disappointed even if you are fussy..
I've come to depend on the reliability of a Best Western Plus. If I can find a BWP in a stopover, that's the hotel of choice for me. Good service, comfortable accommodations. After one or two disappointments along a 4000 mile road trip, it's wonderful to know there's a good, clean, quiet room and bed to recharge in. I wasn't too pleased with the quality of the breakfast, though. I know I've had better than this in other BWPs. But the room alone was great.
Great, clean rooms in this place, that is very dog friendly. I only spent one night here awaiting a sale the next day, but I found the front desk staff friendly. I am kind of shocked now at what it costs to stay in nice places on the road these days. I would stay here again on my next trip, though.
I usually read my fellow Tripadvisor member's reviews before I travel. Since I travel a lot (56 countries, all but two American states) I have learned how to analyze reviews. Every time you see lots of good reviews and a few bad or even terrible reviews, take your time and carefully read the bad ones and make your own conclusions... We have made reservations at the Best Western Red River Inn as a stopover of our trip from Katy, Texas to Boulder, Colorado. Clarendon is exactly half way between the two cities, the hotel is by the freeway, so very easy to get in and out, is relatively new and you do not have to go through busy Amarillo, which would be the next logical option. Now please let me join the vast majority of happy guests who posted very unbiased good reviews and congratulate the team at this very good hotel for a job very well done. I have made special requests (soft pillows, extra towels, high floor) and all of them were fulfilled. Check-in was fast, room was spotless clean, Wi-Fi was fast and complimentary, our room on the third floor was exceptionally quiet. Complimentary hot breakfast was way above average, with pretty tasty omelets, waffles, fruits and everything some hotels charge you to have. Although I personally have not used them, my wife, daughter and granddaughter enjoyed the heated indoor pool and jacuzzi. Once I left the hotel on my way to Colorado I have immediately booked another room for the way back and here I am again, repeating the good experience. I will book a room at this hotel every time I have to travel to Colorado again!
Very clean - good bedding and nice breakfast. There are almost no dining options in this town so be forewarned. No dinner after 6pm except for local Pizza Hut. Nice stop after getting through Amarillo traffic and it is right off the highway.
I must admit I was a bit disappointed by my stay at this location. I travel a lot! From the road this looked like a great choice. Large and my best guess was new, we were really tired so the choice was made once we turned around. Nice entrance and basically a very nice presentation, even an indoor pool with a Jacuzzi. For a PLUS Best Western I guess I had my expectations set too high. No restaurant I really hate hotels with no restaurant. They did provide a morning breakfast but was rather disappointed with that as well. Did I mention the cockroaches crawling across my TV during the evening or the sound of a squashed one when I stepped into the bathroom during the night. Sorry I live in Alaska, No cockroaches...Sorry Best Western, Just my honest evaluation.
I don't usually equate Best Western with luxury but this was an exception. High class, very comfortable bed, great breakfast, indoor pool/spa, weight room, etc. but at a very reasonable price. The only problem seemed to be with parking-lots of trailers taking up multiple spots so some were parking in the grass.
We spent one night at the best western Red river. It is very clean, and comfortable. The shower had hot water. The nice staff was very helpful, and served a great breakfast. Bacon was especially good. It is also in a quiet area. Didn't hear any street noise. This was our 2nd time to stay here hand we were not disappointed.
A very clean pet friendly Best Western. This hotel is in rural USA and is the best we have stayed in. On the highway but very quiet. The staff is friendly, the rooms are very comfortable, and everyone seems to "care" about the guests.
After too many hours of unfamiliar, sparsely populated, desert-like terrain, we were not expecting much luxury in Clarendon. Surprise! This Best Western was a match for the quality we have enjoyed in many urban areas that experience lots of tourists. The accommodations are first class and the service was as good as it gets. dorothyk875
Overall experience was outstanding. Lovely accommodations for such a small town. Would make it a point to stay here again when in the area. Price was extremely fair for the quality of the facility overall. Room, service and overall facility was top-notch for Best Western.
I have been traveling extensively over the last couple of months and have stated in many hotels. By far, this is one of the cleanest hotels I've stayed in! The breakfast is also wonderful!! Be sure and try the Western Omelet! Beyond all of that, I left something that is probably not worth much monetary wise but it is extremely important to me and especially to my husband. I'd put it on the bed and the blankets got tossed over it and I forgot about it. The housekeeper (she is awesome) found it and took it downstairs to Terry and she called me right away to let me know I'd left it! We made arrangements for it to be mailed to my home address and I cannot even begin to tell you what that means to me!! I am beyond grateful! Clarendon is not very far from Amarillio and if you'd like to stay in a peaceful, clean, friendly town I promise you this hotel and this little town will not disappoint you. What a wonderful thing to have found this little spot!
the rooms were to hot, the hall ways were hot and we stayed on 3rd floor and to get ice you had to go to 2nd floor. didn't get to many cable channels. The staff was great. there is nothing more I can say.
The staff was great, the hotel was clean and they provide a very nice breakfast. I will be sure to stay there again. I pool and hot tub were a big plus for my wife and grandson. I had some work to do while they were in the pool and the internet (wifi) came in handy,
I was with a group of 6 when we checked in and all of us had separate rooms. the young man(no name tag) that checked us in didn't panic and checked us all in taking only a few minutes with each of us. We all did the express check out.
We enjoyed our stay at this Best Western ....everyone was friendly and helpful and the motel was extremely clean and comfy ...with a great breakfast! We will use this Best Western again without a doubt! Thank You !
if you are from larger cities like me the small town life is hard to understand, but as hotels go this is one of the better ones. I'm in the military and their military rate is one of the best I've ever seen. I have certainly paid a lot more for a lot less. So if you ever find yourself in this almost "ghost town" stay at THIS hotel, and go eat at the Bar H. You won't regret it.
Have family in Amarillo, but will drive to Clarendon ,to stay the night on the way to Dallas. Always clean, nice rooms, quite dog friendly, have never been let down in our stays at this motel reservations always correct and e-mail confirmation.
Comfortable rooms and helpful, courteous staff. Pet friendly room was very convenient for our small dog companion. Some local noise noticeable from nearby train and highway but did not interfere with a restful night.
Excellent value, moderate price. Friendly, courteous, neat staff. Attention to detail in all aspects of the motel is outstanding. I recommend this motel to anyone. Rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable. Bathroom was large and had top quality appliances. Every contingency was covered in the room. Room was quiet and the beds are excellent.
The Best Western was a surprisingly nice motel considering the remote, small town that it's located in. It was clean, well maintained, decent breakfast of mini-omelets and sausage with toast, rolls, cereals, and juices. Good wifi and quiet also. One tip: ask for Room #100 or in that area. This is in the back of the motel and distances you from the truck traffic on the main highway in front. There's also a rear door that is directly adjacent to #100. Easy to bring in luggage this way. Be sure to check prices on the website before arriving, and argue (no, demand) that price if you don't reserve in advance. If you threaten to go out to your car and reserve online, they will honor the internet price to walk-ins.
My three favorite Cs. Updated bedding a, fridge and microwave, good breakfast. Shampoo, conditioner, lotion, and a hot shower. Great price. We ate before we got to the town because all we saw was Sonic and Pizza Hut there. Would definitely stay again.
This is definitely a great stay for this area and price range. The hotel is modern and clean, and the bedding is newer and comfortable (and also clean). The owners obviously take pride in their property- there was nice art throughout and tasteful holiday lights in the parking lot. Breakfast was good, the staff was friendly, and I appreciated that there was a nice workout room open 24-hours a day. The hotel is also dog friendly with plenty of grass for your pet to meander. I'll stay here again when on this route.
We take a lot of road trips and this BW far exceeds the normal small town hotels. Not just a newer, nicer property, their attention to detail makes the difference. The roads were closed due to ice, but they made sure the sidewalk entry was salted (great job by the evening young man at the front desk!) plenty of breakfast despite a full house, a paperback library, indoor pool & spa, a great recommendation for pizza delivery (Grumpy's) and most important, they welcomed our dog! We'll be back.
This hotel was wonderful. The area was well lit with the holiday spirit. The hotel representative was nice and had my rooms ready as soon as I walked in at 2 a.m. The rooms are nice and comfortable. Breakfast was fresh and hot.
Made reservations traveling with dogs, everything was ready for us when arrived. Clean room, nice décor, very comfortable, gave us the rooms desired that were close to exit for walking dogs on first floor, quiet room.
I would agree with most of the positive reviews but have noticed an omission of vital importance and that's thin walls. I could hear the TV of the room next to me and the stomping of the people above me. For the amount of money this place charges I want peace and quiet which isn't provided when you have walls this thin.
Best Best Western we've stayed in. Were traveling cross country and have stayed in about six different hotels, with 4 being BW, but this one has been the best. The room was very clean, of course, but there were a number of extra amenities not normally provided, like makeup remover and such, but most important, a great breakfast and a manager walking around checking with everyone to see if their room and food was satisfactory.
Enjoyed the stay, breakfast and staff. Good job everyone. I was there for business and we enjoyed meeting everyone. Clarendon needs a few better restaurants and more traffic lights along the main corridor. The truck traffic is awful. We hope to help the community improve their historic downtown to attract more tourism, but something has to be done about the large trucks and noise. People are all friendly and helpful. Lovely small town!
We have stayed at this hotel three times in the last two years. It is never a disappointment. Always an efficient, welcoming staff and very clean accomodations. It is dog friendly, but the third floor is reserved for those without pets. We have never heard dogs barking. When we are going to be in the area, I feel like I can count on this hotel to be a reliable, comfortable home away from home.
The motel is clean, attractive and very welcoming with an excellent, helpful staff. The beds are very comfortable. They offer a free hot breakfast with mini omelets, bacon, sausage, biscuits and gravy and more. We always look forward to our stop at the Best Western in Clarendon
I had been on the road awhile and just happened to put in here. The staff was friendly. I asked about availability and price and gladly took the room. They even included AAA discount. The room was top notch. Large with a couch and desk and internet and about everything I needed. I was impressed. I went to check out about 6:00 am and was very impressed with the breakfast. I wasn't going to have any breakfast but couldn't pass it up. I had a nice omelet, sausage patties, bacon and then went back for a biscuit and gravy. Absolutely great. The only thing I could fault the breakfast for was lack of real milk or cream.....dairy creamer and edible oil products...really? Other that that it it a great place.
I would definitely recommend this motel to anyone! Beautiful rooms, very comfortable beds, extremely clean. The breakfast was wonderful and the staff very helpful. They even provided a fresh remote control for the tv which is a first for me. Convenient to Hwy 287. Definitely give it 2 thumbs up!
Very clean with a friendly staff. The room was quiet and well appointed. This pet friendly hotel was the best we stayed in on a driving trip from Florida to Colorado and back. Our little dog was treated like people. The breakfast was fresh and the dining area was clean. It was obvious the staff cared about their facility and the guests that stay there.
Was the only hotel in the area. Hotel was nice. Location was on the main highway. Priced a little high. There was no other hotels in the area so there is no computation. Had several amenities . Breakfast was nice and could have used some fresh fruit. Maybe it was offered but I didn't find any.
Extremely clear and well kept hotel.Very high standards. So many hotels drop their standards after they are open a few years, not this one. If you want a clean room with well trained staff choose the Best Wester in Clarendon TX
This is a great new motel out of Amarillo. The rooms are new and clean, the heated pool and hot tub are great and breakfast was very good withTexas shaped waffles. You just can't get any better than that!!! Amarillo was more expensive and not as easy access as Best Western Plus in Claredon. We are so glad we checked Trip Advisor!!!
