Best Western Carthage Inn & Suites

We were traveling for a school UIL trip. The hotel was clean, we felt safe, and very accomodating. The check in staff was friendly and encouraging. She was able to get our whole group on the same floor and close together even though the hotel was full. Breakfast was hot and there were many options available for our whole group.

The Staff was extremely helpful and friendly and our room was clean. The breakfast was great. This is a very pleasant. place to visit. We will Definitely return The property is clean and we'll kept. It is located in a wonderful location ,that way nothing is to far away.. we enjoyed the silver $ pancakes. The Texas Waffle was my favorite.

This is a great place love it, it even has a litte pond behind the hotel, The front desk was very professional and help us get to where we needed to be. the housekeeping kept our room nice and tidy during our stay, LOVE IT LOVE IT

The main thing I check upon staying at a hotel on the road, is how recently the individual rooms have been updated. A recently updated room and/or hotel is much better than following a particular hotel chain. When we called, we spoke with Brendon, who confirmed that rooms had been updated within the past 2 weeks. This was a good sign for us. The hotel was clean, the staff was nice, and check-in was smooth. Like most hotels, it is hit-and-miss with getting an excellent working fridge (the fridge worked in one room, but was only slightly cool in another we had). We also ran out of shampoo and soaps that are mounted to the bath walls, but the front desk was happy to provide us with additional toiletries for the room. This is a hidden gem in Carthage.

The hotel was nice and clean, staff was courteous and friendly and the hotel is in a convenient location. Complimentary breakfast was extremely satisfying. The coffee was hot and flavorful. Television had DirecTV with HBO.

The hotel was conveniently located along our route, with all the amenities needed for an overnight stop. Staff was courteous and helpful. The breakfast was a bit lacking, with prepackaged pastries and few healthy choices.

The rooms are nice and clean. Best of all the staff is exceptional. They are all friendly and willing to help. Jonathan who works night shift was a sweetheart. I have just one slightly negative comment…the breakfast needs a little work but it's free.

I really hate to give this hotel an average to poor rating but I feel that I have to, at least after this visit. We usually stay here every time we come to visit family in Carthage. In the past it has always been clean and for the most part, staff has been friendly. This time however things seemed a little off. Deborah made the reservation for me and she gave me a fair deal and I truly appreciated that. She doesn't seem overly friendly but she's not rude either. She's efficient and good at her job. The room wasn't as clean as rooms we have stayed in before. The carpet wasn't vacuumed very well, the towels were dingy and the top lock on the door was broken. We used the air conditioner and it had a moldy smell to it. Maybe we got a room that isn't used very often, I don't know. The first morning that we went down for breakfast it was 8:00 am and everything was empty and I do mean everything!! We had to get the lady at the front desk, who was busy trying to wrangle a crying child from behind the desk, to come to the kitchen and replenish. The second day wasn't much better. Most things were empty and they appeared to be understaffed. With all this said, this hotel is better than any of the other alternatives that are in Carthage. We may try the Holiday Inn Express next time we come. Also, if you are bringing a pet, this is the place to stay. They are very pet friendly. Another review for this Hotel. Stayed over Thanksgiving 2022. We arrived around 8:30pm on Wednesday night before Thanksgiving because we had reservations at a different hotel down the street but upon arrival there we encountered things that made us change our minds about staying so we were in a scramble to find a place that we could get 2 rooms for 2 nights on short notice. I'm familiar with the BW because I have stayed there in the past and although I have had some minor issues there before, I knew it would be much better than the Regal Hotel we had just come from. Brendon was working the front desk and was so polite, kind and accommodating. He was able to give us a great rate and I was very pleased with his service. I have some concerns about how many times my card was actually charged but I'm sure I will be able to get that worked out. The room was clean and bug free! The beds weren't very comfortable (kinda lumpy) but they were clean. Loved the shampoo, conditioner and body wash pumps attached to the shower wall. Water pressure was good and we had lots of hot water for everyone. Breakfast (as I stated in my last review) needs some help. They serve from 6am-9:00am. We went down at 8:30 and all the hot food was pretty much gone. When I asked the lady at the desk if she could have someone make more eggs my request was basically ignored. About 10 more people came in by 8:45 and there was nothing available. The “late eaters” should have the same chance to get a hot breakfast as the “early eaters”. They should keep things replenished until at least 8:30am.

Noisy a/c, staff not very friendly, when mentioned about noise from the Air/ heat unit commented we will have some one check it, why not say fix it? When asked for internet code had to decider what he said not very plain talker. Only 2 luggage carts and one was in a guest room and not returned to lobby, handicap parking is across the parking lot, no restaurants close by..

the front desk lady had to manage breakfast plus check out travelers. she was overwhelmed, no coffee, no eggs, bacon, sausage, she did attend the problems, but had to wait for her. other than the breakfast, everyone was very friendly

Customer Service, hot breakfast, clean rooms, and pet friendly. All thumbs up. Really pleased with this stay. I really have nothing negative to say. The showers had dispensers for shampoo, cond, and body wash. Our beds were comfortable. Plenty of pillows.

This stay at this Hotel was ok .The bathroom was not clean it was hair in the shower and the floor needed mopped. I like staying at Best Western because I am a reward member and I receive points but when I stay I expect the room and bathroom to be clean but over all the stay was ok

Great overnight stop in Carthage. Everything was clean, fresh and in good working orders. Staff was friendly. Breakfast was well stocked, great variety, kept fresh and clean. Everything I hope to get from a Best Western when I travel and not overpriced. Well done!

The hotel was clean and well maintained. All amenities working and being cleaned on a regular basis. We would return to this hotel. The pool was clean along with the parking lot and surrounding grounds. Nice equipment in the fitness center.

I have stayed here off and on over the past three years, and I have nothing but positive things to say. Rooms are clean, staff is friendly, things are always in working order and if not they are seen to asap. My two service dogs are received well and most of all the staff is so very friendly. They have made life so much easier for us during our travels. No they're not an upscale resort but they have things normal hotels don't have, my fave is the beautiful pond in the back of the hotel, the large yard in back for kids and pets as well as picnic table and grill. The pool is always clean and enjoyable as well as laundry and gym. I've stayed here longer and more than most people I'm positive and I always look forward to coming back. Keep up the great work!

This hotel took my payment for three rooms in cash and turned around and charged my card $433.88 on top of that. The owner of the hotel knows full well about this problem, as well as corporate. They have done nothing!!! The local police department was notified and report filed.

This was always my go to hotel in Carthage when previously operated under another brand. Still the best place to stay in Carthage. I was disappointed with breakfast closing at 9 am on weekends and the selection of items offered.

They staff went out of their way to make sure I had everything I needed for a pleasant stay. Hot breakfast was delicious and the eat area was neat and clean. Directions to places to eat in town were given well.

First glance appeared clean, no odor or stains. However, refrigerator had used drink cup in the door, napkins on desk with lipstick marks. Handicap bathroom had safety bars, tub/shower combo, no shower bench. Tissue box had something indefinable on the outside. Shelves had dust covering what looked like a white glass ring. Note that dust was on top of ring. Who knows how long it had been there. Apparently cleaning staff did what my Mom used to call a "lick and a promise" type of system--just enough for cursory inspection. Breakfast tables were no cleaned between users. Hot food ran out, not replenished before we left--at least a half hour, while people came and left. Out of four coffee pots, only the decaf was available. Pros--bed was comfortable, room was quiet.

BW in Carthage Texas was a true positive experience . The Staff was wonderful ,rooms were clean as well as the breakfast was great . We had a very good 2 night stay and will stay at Best Western again anywhere we are, because of the experience we had in Carthage Texas.

Pros: Very nice quite hotel. Breakfast hours were great and the food options were filling. Cons: There was a moderate odor (musty or mildew type smell) througout the hallways and the guest room. I would defintely stay this hotel again.

Good comfy beds big tv awesome breakfast, fast friendly service.. Had no problems while I was there They let me pay on a weekly basis, could use the fitness room in the early a.m. They let me use there Meeting room for all of my Business needs..

I have stayed in many hotels in my travels and this particular hotel tops the list. The staff from the manager to housekeeping to kitchen staff are tops. They are all so friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. The whole place is so clean and sanitary. The rooms are very clean and very comfortable. If staying in this city, I would recommend this hotel to be the one to be stayed in.

The young man at the front desk was pleasant but I was disappointed in the cleanliness of the room. It had not been dusted & cleaned properly. It's very dated. I will choose another hotel in the area next time.

Fire Alarm went off at 11:15 or 11:30 PM. Very disturbing. We Normally stay at this Hotel with no disturbances. We will return again in the future. Good location, near fast food and gas stations. This disturbance was a one time occurance.

Had a competition near town. Rooms were clean, staff is friendly. Very easy check in and out. Internet was easy to connect and no issues with it going in and out or slowing down. I will definitely return to this hotel on my next trip to this area

We came to stay here with our family because we had no electricity and water. The lady working took our name down and we reserved two rooms. She told us the keys weren't working so she'd take us to our rooms but we told her we were going to eat dinner first. When we came back to go to our rooms the lady and a guy were working and told us they had given our other room away so we only had one room. They were extremely rude but everywhere else was booked so we had to stay. Never again will we stay here !!

I've stayed at the Carthage Best Western on three separate occasions during the last 4 months. Each time I been met with professional and polite customer service folks. The hotel is clean and conveniently located on the loop around Carthage. I will definitely stay at the Carthage Best Western the next time I visit the Carthage area.

This motel was being used by working people away from home. The walls are thin. The TV in the adjacent room went out after 1100 and was on again before 0500 the next day. Very few masks were worn in the motel by fellow customers. This motel is outdated. Our room had an overhead fan. The ceiling above the fan was covered with dust bunnies.

Britt is a wonderful person and helps out in any way! Very people friendly and sweet. Always enjoy staying here! Hassle that breakfast is the way it is but atleast theres breakfast! And great swimming with a hot jacuzzi tub!

We enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The pool and hot tub were a hit with our kids, and our room was clean and comfortable. The staff was welcoming and friendly. Overall this was a great place to get some rest.

The staff at this hotel made all the difference. They were exceptional and treated us like family. The beds were comfortable, the rooms clean, and the food served for breakfast was very tasty. I highly recommend this hotel, as we will be back when we visit again.

I liked the staff they were helpful. The beds were very hard I could have slept on the floor and gotten better rest. Hopefully when they update the hotel that is the first thing done and they replace the beds

too long of a story. boycotting this hotel and every other choice hotel in the world. got checked into a room we could not get in for like 4 to 5 hours and then got ran off the property for making a complaint. the clerk asked me for drugs. the GM threatened me with cops because I told her that the clerk asked me for drugs.

We reserved rooms in advance. Check in was easy. Hotel was clean. Staff was helpful. 24hr coffee served. Rooms were well above average. Clean and well equipped. We did have an issue with out tv not changing channels. A call to the front desk and it was fixed in 15 minutes. We were a group of 9 people and we had 3 rooms. Requested 20 minutes in the private meeting room as we were there to say goodbye to a loved one and they were great about providing the room to us, no charge for 30 minutes. I had stayed here before and will be sure to come back. Front desk and staff were very personable. We also did some fishing in the Sabine while we were there. Great weekend and the food choices were very good.
