Best Western Carlton Hotel

Few days in Blackpool over Easter weekend, hotel was very clean. Room had all the facilities you need with a great location. Breakfast was fantastic, nice choice of food, staff made it great! Nikki and Alex were our servers and they really took care of us! And our doggy! Katie on reception was really welcoming and friendly. Would stay again

Not very clean smelt musty. Room needed lots of updating. Bed was clean. Windows fixed shut and rotting! Very disappointed. Food was ok nothing special. The staff were wonderful and did everything they could under the circumstances. Bar was good.

Lovely hotel staff brilliant could not have done enough for very helpful and professional need the dog treats stocking up took 2 days to be filled up it would have been five stars but paying five pound a day to park was a bit much as you where staying there first time I have had to pay for parking at a hotel I was staying in

Once again a fantastic stay with my wife and our two springer spaniels. We travel all the time but this hotel gives us the opportunity to enjoy all facilities including bar, lounge and restaurant. The staff are so nice to our two dogs and make them so welcome. The hotel is clean and the room excellent with a sea view. We are back in June so just one tip, fill the treats jars up as they were empty towards the end of our stay and if that's my only advice it speaks volumes. We've had difficult year and this 4 night break has helped to heal some of the pain. Thank you

Good service good bar. Evening menu looked ok but did not order from it as we went out. Good location. Room ok and clean. Would prefer more options for breakfast. Staff are very friendly and accommodating. They deserve much appreciation. Cannot ask for much more at the price offered. Comfortable stay overall would probably stay again in future but would make special requests in advance.

Disappointing stay small room needed a deep clean , stained mattress topper , windows had blown and didn't close properly Checkin wasn't the best. Staff later in the day were pleasant Saving grace was breakfast great staff and nice cooked food

Stayed for 1 night and it was absolutely fine. Parking out front, and located on a busy main road on both sides of the hotel which meant it was a little bit noisy. Room was clean and had all the basic facilities, we didin't have breakfast but it was available. It was an easy 10 minute walk along to the Tower on mostly flat ground with a bit of an incline.

This hotel is one of the best we have stayed in at Blackpool. Rooms clean and comfortable. All staff extremely helpful and friendly. Plenty of comfy chairs and places for relaxation. Food good. Good location with sea view. Would definitely recommend. We had a lovely stay here.

Had a 2 night stay for a family weekend away for our sons birthday,very pleasant staff that go above and beyond and nothing is too much trouble,an absolute asset to the hotel,all areas are nice and clean and the food was great and reasonably priced

Overall a pleasant and friendly stay in a gitel located perfectly for walking into town. A few issues which will be sorted no doubt when they have their planned refurb. We paid for a deluxe double room with sea view but it was far from deluxe. Quite a few niggles but mainly the size of it was not good. View excellent and the breakfast very good value. I can only say the staff save this place from getting a lower score as they were all friendly, helpful and professional. A credit to the hotel

My son was looking forward to his stay at this hotel. He has autism and likes to visit Blackpool zoo. On arrival I had a call from his support worker to say I hadn't paid for the room. I spoke to the lady on reception who was adamant I hadn't paid. I said I have a receipt but she insisted. So I had to pay again. When I got home from shopping I checked and yes, I had already paid for the room. I phoned them to tell them and they refunded. I was waiting for an apology from them but only happened when I said I thought they should double check before asking for payment from someone again and not do it to someone in the future. It was a good job I had the £482 in my account to pay this again. I now have to wait the usual 5-7 days for the refund. My son loves to watch TV in the evenings. It is part of his routine. However there was no TV reception at all throughout the whole weekend so this spoilt it for him. Also none for his support worker's room either. I just spoke to the manager Katy who said that I had now been refunded the money so couldn't understand why I was concerned about this. The point is, if I hadn't checked, I would have paid twice for the hotel! I then told her I wasn't happy about the TV not working. She said there was nothing they could do due to the wind affecting the aerial! I asked if she could refund some of the money but she said no. She could offer 10% off a future stay but they won't be staying again as there are lots of other hotels in Blackpool which would have, I'm sure handled the situation better and made sure that my son's stay was enjoyable.

The hotel itself needs renovation however the staff makes the it a great place to stay. The sea view rooms are good but the basic rooms are very small definitely book seaview. All of the staff are helpful,friendly and accommodating.

My husband and myself have stayed here numerous times over the past 10yrs. This time was different. The superior bedroom 114 is right outside the lift so I kept on being woken up when other guests were getting out the lift, this eventually stopped around 1am. The room wasn't clean, dirty marks on the walls stained furniture, the bathroom door lock was broken.even the complimentary toiletries were missing. The pillows on the bed were very uncomfortable. Why is it called a superior room when basically it wasn't. I also wasn't aware of the hotel being dog friendly. I've nothing against dogs but when there are 3 in the dining room where food is being served is a bit much for me. As for the buffet breakfast, there used to be a lot more choice and the fresh fruit was basically an apple,banana or an orange. You are not offered a pot of tea or coffee it's help yourself to a hot water machine and brew in a mug. I'm not snobbish but standards have gone down since the last time we stayed and it's not cheap.

Hotel very clean and staff lovely. However, the “ Superior Room” we were in was tiny with no storage space and certainly not big enough for two adults. The shower had no temperature regulator which I thought was required in hotels and varied between scalding hot and freezing cold. Bathroom had black mould on floor and wall tiles and was in dire need of refurbishment. The toilet seat was stained yellow…ugh! The restaurant was really bad…we ate there on the Friday evening and my sister ordered a steak which could have passed for shoe leather and was uneatable. On an adjoining table, another customer was served a Burger which was raw in the middle. We paid £23 for breakfast the next morning, which was completely chaotic. Porridge was served in a paper cup ! There were no cups, no teaspoons and the hot food ran out several times and was replenished, one item at a time with long waits in between, orange juice ran out several times. We don't recommend staying here and wouldn't do so again.

Great location, good parking, decent breakfast, bar area ok, rooms need updating especially the carpets and shower. Bunk bed mattress hard but big bed comfortable. Fan in room however it was really dusty. Tea/coffee making facilities in room and plenty towels.

One of our favourite hotels,love the views from the sea front rooms,the car park & great staff. This time we had a 2 night stay in room 115,what a beautiful room,it was huge with a king size bed,a free standing bath in the room,a seperate shower & toilet room & big windows with a great view of the Irish Sea & the Illuminations. There is a bus & tram stop right outside the hotel,although the bus service is a bit unreliable & ends soon after 6.30pm. One slight problem was that the shower wasn't working properly but the bath more than made up for it!

Another good stay at The Best Western. A good, comfortable Room, convenient for the Trams. Breakfast included and satisfactory. Internet very convenient. The presence of dogs not a problem. Staff welcoming. Will certainly stay there again.

This was the hotel that was booked by by a Booking Agent for a three day stay for a group of six Conference Delegates and their partners. Hotel staff were friendly and professional. The public areas were clean and pleasant. Breakfast was more than adequate with plenty of choice. We only ate one Evening Meal at the Hotel and that was very tasty. We were not aware before arrival that this was a “Dog Friendly “ Hotel . In fairness we heard very little noise from the half a dozen or so small dogs that on the premises whilst we were there. However we were uncomfortable with dogs being allowed in the dining room during service of food. In respect of the rooms - they were very small, the bed was very comfortable but apart from an open fronted hanging rail with a high shelf and a desk there was no drawer space and no place in the bathroom to store wash bags, no tooth mugs but the bathroom body wash and shampoo dispensers contained top class products. There was no strong box. The rooms we occupied bore no resemblance to the crisp clean rooms featured on the Hotel's website. The bath had a large piece of surface enamel, I had to request a non-slip rubber bath mat. This is not a Hotel I would return to.

Staff were very helpful and provided high quality customer service.Nothing was any trouble .bar area excellent as dining area.breakfast was very good providing good choice of food.dog treats and fresh water provided.

Very disappointed with this hotel. Sadly our visit needed to be revised due to a cancellation of the Pier-End to End swim. We approached the hotel to allow us to cancel the booking and have a refund, however they would not make any exceptions to their policy. Of course we do not have the powers to govern the pollution levels in the sea!!

I would not recommend this hotel as it is dirty and old fashioned in this hotel room; with cracked bath tub, old dirty carpet and tiny window in a room for 4 people. I had food poisoning after having their breakfast that particular morning; vomiting 5 times. Not up to the standard for the price we paid.

It was a great experience the staff were great very friendly and cheerful. Would not hesitate in recommending this hotel. They took interest in everything you were doing and were able to direct you if you had any problems. Stayed for two nights and it was a great experience.

Good value for money not the biggest or most modern rooms but clean and comfy .Bar area modern and the breakfast was self serve and loads of it .. delicious we will be coming back Nice and easy to get to all of the mayor attractions facing the beach (not all rooms do)

Lovely hotel, lovely staff and lovely food at breakfast. The beds were very comfortable and had but no air on in rooms and windows did not open much so the room was extremely hot at night. The location is very far out the way from the main strip in Blackpool

Stayed here Saturday night! Location is ok Staff are lovely and very helpful but that's as good as it gets. Room Really dirty stains on the carpet old furniture and dirty Kettle was really dirty inside and full of limescale. Bathroom was was disgusting Dirty and stained shower curtain Rusty rad Shower head dirty and full of limescale. Mouldy bath Shower really old and couldn't get a good temp. Had a very pleasant stay here, the room was nice, with a comfy bed and the shower was powerful. Plenty of tea and coffee in the room and the shower gel etc was of good quality. For breakfast the dining room was lovely with lots of tables near the window to enjoy the sea view. Good choice of cereals, bakery items and cooked food and a coffee machine which makes decent coffee. Vegetarian sausages and a choice of eggs are available on request but I did have to find someone to ask. We found all of the staff very polite, friendly and helpful, couldn't have asked for more. There is an added bonus of a carpark at the front of the hotel which was £5 to park until 12:00 the next day. The only negatives are things I don't think the management can easily change, which were that the walls are not soundproof at all and we were party to our neighbours' conversation into the early hours, even though we got back at past midnight ourselves. There are also very big gaps under the doors which let in all the noise from the corridor. A mirror over the desk would be great for hair and make-up and plug sockets next to the bed would be helpful for phone charging. None of these would put us off staying again as it's a very good hotel in a great seafront location.

We visited for a 3 night stay earlier this week. We'd had to rearrange our dates so there was a little bit of confusion over how long we were staying and there being an extra bed in our room for our son, but it was sorted out quickly and with no problem. Our son is coeliac and lactose intolerant and whilst we knew there was gluten free options on the menu, we didn't expect for there to be so much and for them to have lactose free butter as well! Reece was the absolute star of the show! He served us dinner on the first night. He took so much time to understand our sons needs and to recommend things. He was kind, friendly, funny and absolutely made our stay! Mackenzie was also brilliant when he was on duty. The room had a lovely sea view, and had everything you could need!. The breakfast was really lovely, again they catered brilliantly for our sons food allergies. The drinks were reasonably priced. We met some really lovely guests and their dogs. We would definitely stay again and take our little dog with us next time

Can't understand why people have said ‘beautiful clean rooms' - stained carpets, spillages on walls and had to get a new room because first room floor was matted with dog hair! £219 for a 2 night stay in an absolute dump. Lovely reception staff I'll give them that, which is unfair to them having to deal with the complaints from ourselves plus other families that same day. Hellhole is the only word for it!

Lovely clean room with a sea view! Hotel is in a great location with lovely polite and helpful staff who couldn't do enough for us. We ate out in the evening but breakfast was great with a wide selection of cereals, pastries and full English breakfast. We will definitely return and highly recommend this hotel

Staff in the restaurant need more training not morning staff they wear very good staff in the evening keeped on going missing if you need something you waited a least 10 minutes they keeped talking at reception instead of doing thear job don't let them tell you something different it was notice a few people said the same and that the hotel has gone down would have been nice for staff to smile and look as they like the job even if they didn't like the job they need to do hospitality training which I don't think they have had it food not very good breakfast was OK but the evening meals not very good for the money man on reception was very good and very helpful he was always smiling nice to someone was.

Stayed here as part of a birthday celebration and all our party had a great stay. Rooms comfy, clean and have everything you would need. We had breakfast and was excellent choices of hot and cold food and all options very nice. The staff were really friendly and helpful both prior to arrival and during the stay. They arranged things for guests birthday in the room such as banners, balloons and gorgeous flowers. Would definitely stay again. Thanks for a great stay!

Family group for New Year, had 3 rooms all very clean and spacious, we stayed in the accessible ground floor superior room it was huge! Had a 3 course meal in Sunday for £16.95 each which was Delicious, Breakfast is Buffett with everything you could want available

My first time away at Christmas and I have to admit that I had a great time at the Carlton Hotel, the room was clean and very comfortable, the food was excellent and the staff was very helpful and friendly, I will definitely go back

Just had a one night stay with family, room was clean with comfy beds. Hotel reception, bar, restaurant and circulation areas were clean and overall well maintained for what appears to be quite an old building. Reception staff were welcoming and after a long day walking the bar was a welcome resting place with happy staff and a decent pint. Breakfast was qlso very good. Would stay again no problem. Overall excellent value.

Stayed for 2 nights very clean hotel and helpful staff would definitely go back perfect location within walking distance to tower shops etc didn't have breakfast but did eat in the restaurant one night and it was lovely food can't fault it

I was fortunate enough to attend the BAGS 25th Anniversary Dinner at this excellent hotel. The whole experience was superb. The staff were so friendly and helpful, the food was exceptional and the venue itself was comfortable, well organised and in excellent decorative order, which is very rare in Blackpool. This was by far the best dinner I have attended in Blackpool and I will certainly be making this venue a prime recommendation. Thank you so much to everyone involved for giving us such a hugely enjoyable and memorable experience to mark our 25th Anniversary.

Attended a reception & gala dinner and it was superb - fantastic food and service, the staff went above and beyond to be accommodating & helpful. The chef put together a delicious menu and the pre fizz & canapés were lovely - great venue, location and sea views 10/10

Have to agree that the staff are amazing - brilliant service from all concerned. Our TV had sound only (faulty aerial) and staff insisted on moving us to sea view room across corridor, even though we were quite happy to stay where we were. Much better room and facilities - brill. Hard to underatsn some of the negative comments, since Savoy prices are not being charged and value for money was exceptional. Plenty of choice for breakfast, with freshly made poached/fried eggs offered on request. Would certainly return.

My friends and I stayed at this hotel for three nights. We had a fab stay, the colleagues we came into contact with could not have been any more helpful than they were. Katie, Hannah, Finley and JonJo are an absolute credit to Best Western. They were professional, polite, compassionate and kind. They couldn't do enough for you which was really refreshing :) Well done guys are smashing it !!

Best western Carlton hotel stayed here two nights. Staff pleasant friendly but not particularly efficient. On second day room only half made up and not properly cleaned. Breakfast - second day requested poached eggs raw - always running out of foods in servers - not on the ball topping up. Room was supposed to be superior deluxe - nowhere near that standard - carpet was filthy. Worst problem was the shower - impossible to regulate - if you got it running about ok it went either boiling hot or freezing cold. I asked reception about it and was told that all the showers weee like it and they needed a refit - water that suddenly goes hot is dangerous - surely Best Western should not be letting en-suite rooms with this problem - overall if you can find somewhere else to stay I'd definitely recommend doing that - we would not stay here again.

Every night at approx 11pm for 1.5 hours there was a VERY loud humming noise (like a vibration, pump or motor) Every morning at 6 am the same noise woke me up. I recorded the noise on my mobile. This was made known to the day staff and the night porter on several occasions, playing them the recording and despite saying they would investigate, the noise continued. A maintenance worker came to the room on 03.11 AM and said it was probably an extractor fan motor that needed renewing? On the last evening (03.11) I was told by a male member of staff they 'knew what the problem was but there was nothing they could do about it!' when I asked what the problem was he said he 'didn't know?' but he heard and felt the vibrations through the floor outside my room! I was then offered a room change but my son was asleep so I couldn't disturb him. The staff member suggested I spoke with the hotel manager; Katie in the morning on check-out. When I spoke to Katie after breakfast she said she knew nothing about it and hadn't been made aware? I played her the recording and she said she would investigate before I checked out at 10.30 At 10.35 Katie said she had checked the boiler timings but they were not consistent with the time of the noise disturbance, the boiler was only 6 months old and that no other guests has heard anything? I was offered a 50% refund on the room rate, which I accepted but have not yet received. The room, although clean to an average standard was very dated - the view was the back of the kitchen and side walls of the building thus allowing very little daylight into the room. The majority of staff I encountered were friendly and professional (especially Katie the guest services staff on reception 03.11/04.11) The Wi-Fi was very good throughout the building. Breakfast was plentiful and fresh on the first morning but went downhill the next two mornings. (I learnt the hotel owner was visiting on the first morning and was seen walking in and out of the kitchen, talking to staff and guests) The evening meal was good and service was quick. The lounge bar was well stocked and the table football was great for the children. There is a tram stop opposite the hotel and it was only a 10 minute walk to the Tower and North Peir.

One of the best chain hotels, clean friendly and always parking space, tried many dearer and cheaper in Blackpool and the best western Carlton has to be up there as one of the best… trams just outside and we'll within walking distance to the main shops, the tower and north pier

Given the hotel's star rating and prices, this is a good choice. The location is great, the breakfast room/restaurant, bar and terrace having sea views. Ample parking, with two podpoint electric vehicle charging points. The building and rooms are looking tired and worn, but are clean and have all creature comforts: wifi, flatscreen TV, tea and coffee. Breakfast is a buffet, with a good choice of hot and cold dishes, plus sea views. The staff are friendly and helpful.

The hotel and staff was lovely and even the cleaners the following morning asked was everything ok for us . The only problem was the speed of food coming out of the kitchen at breakfast was a little slow to the self service area but apart from that I would highly recommend this hotel certainly for value , food quality was well above expectations and the hotel is only 5 minute walk from the tower .

Good location on the front, poor bathroom cleanliness was dog hair in the bath and on the floor, comfy beds slept ok , ok breakfast but would be nice to have table service. Staff nice and friendly. Hotel car parking makes it easier.

The hotel was great, staff really friendly from the moment we arrived to when we left, nothing was too much trouble. It was very dog friendly which was a welcome meaning our dog could enjoy the stay with us. All did gluten free breakfast options on request for the coeliac in the party.

A return visit after 7 years or so, and the refurbished hotel did not disappoint. Even the initial problem of the room being set up as a super king, rather than a twin was quickly sorted by the efficient housekeeping team. The room was clean and modern (I don't know whether all rooms have been refurbished yet), although very warm and the fan that we found was much appreciated even at the end of October. Staff were all helpful and polite and I wouldn't hesitate in revisiting and recommending to friends.

We stayed for 4 nights in a ‘superior seaview room' which was a small room with a door that had to be slammed/rammed shut with brute force as despite it having a door closer on it, it did not close properly and was left without it being shut and properly secured by the cleaning staff when we returned one day. The seaview room came complete with a misted up window that was the one to look out of for the sea view. The shower room was tiny with a 2' x 2' cubicle with a fixed overhead spray. I have never seen such a filthy tv remote control in my life which had chocolate and filth ground into every crevice on it (I cleaned it as much as I could with a cosmetic wipe to feel safe using it). Breakfast is ok but nothing special with scrambled egg that seemed to be powdered and greasy streaky bacon and a temperamental coffee machine. In fact the more I remember, the lower I am rating this hotel.

Stayed in blackpool many many times and this was by far the best hotel. It was clean and very welcoming, the staff were warm and friendly and the breakfast was hot and fresh. Ideally located near to the amenities with the tram directly opposite the hotel.

The staff were excellent and looked after us really well. The bed was comfy and the room was nice although it would have benefitted from a bit of attention (a little re-painting was needed). The bathroom was a little tired and the shower was unpredictable, sometimes hot or cold without any adjustment being made. Breakfast was very nice.

Really wanted somewhere to do eat that wasn't just fish and chips, lots of restaurants were full then we noticed the best western restaurant was open to the public, staff were friendly, very helpful, menu was varied and the place was lovely clean and quiet, the only negative is it is a hotel but I don't think there's any need to keep breakfast things on show, maybe cover them up until needed the following day, would definitely go again though

Stayed 2 nights. Excellent service. Room carpet needs a good clean but otherwise spotless. Staff very polite and accommodating. Food was adequate but gammon best eaten with steak knife, tough! Unfortunate that reception floor was cleaned at breakfast time, horrible smell of disinfectant.

Good hotel. Room very clean, daily housekeeping, comfy beds. Stayed room only so can't comment on food but seemed a bit expensive. Lift to all floors. Nice big tv and good shower. Given a rear facing room so view was disappointing

Wow I liked this hotel alot Was able to leave husbands mobility scooter on charge too ( many thanks for that) Breakfast adequate Nice and hot Staff excellent Bedding and towels very white Wouldn't hesitate to return

We stayed two weekends running,first time in room 214 & the second time room 209,both times the rooms were comfortable & spotless,great sea views & a good size car park. There are bus & team stops across from the hotel,although the bus annoyingly stops running around 6 pm. There is a nice terrace at the front of the hotel. All the staff were brilliant,so friendly,helpful & welcoming.

The Best Western hotels never disappoint. I have stayed in several now throughout the United Kingdom and Scotland. They are perfect. The food is nicely varied. The rooms are clean and tidy and have the essentials.

Nothing wrong here with our stay lovely staff especially Finlay and Hannah Room very clean with kettle water coffee tea making stuff even chocolate bars Shower was old fashioned but suppose goes with the age of the building Bed was comfy We had our dog with us and he seemed happy with the hotel lol did hear the odd dog bark but on the whole it was quiet Breakfasts are really nice and all you could want for

We won a charity auction for an Afternoon Tea for 2 with Prosecco pre pandemic, with the help of the amazing staff we were able to finally take them up on this voucher on Saturday 17 Sept 2022 and it was well worth the wait. The Afternoon tea was delicious the Prosecco excellent, but what made the day was the friendliness of the Staff who made us feel very at home - Well done - Peter & Helen

we have stayed at the best western in blackpool 4 times, we were very apprehensive at first as we have been coming to blackpool for 27 years and always stayed at the park house hotel. We felt like a change was in order as in our opinion the park house had gone down in quality, we tried the Best western and requested a mobility room on the ground floor as i explained my husband has terminal cancer and this kind of room was ideal for him. The staff couldnt have been more helpful, Hannah on reception was absolutely fantastic as was Katie and Chris. The room was very clean and the breakfast was very good. The lounge and the bar area is very spacious and is air conditioned. All in all i cannot fault this hotel, it might only be a 3 star but in our eyes it is much more than that. Thanks guys,hope for a return visit next year

We were pleasantly surprised at how lovely this hotel was. The staff were all friendly and helpful. The room and foyer were clean and nicely finished. The breakfast was very good. Good parking available. Overall, we were really happy with our two night stay and would recommend this hotel as the location was also good, being slightly away from all the noise and bustle.

Don't stay here at this hotel, there was that many wee stains on the mattress and the mattress topper, it was absolutely vile, the bed was broken and dipped in middle, there was mould on mattress, stains up the walls, I have photos for proof. I will never stay here again

Great location for transport to local towns - Cleveleys, St Anne's, Lytham. Excellent staff - friendly & efficient - always happy to help. Very clean spacious sea view rooms. Check out the local hole in the wall cafe by the beach at Gunn Square.

Don't miss this hotel. Right on the promenade, serving great sandwiches and food whilst you overlook the sea and promenade. I wasn't staying but used this property for food and it was delicious The views are some of the best on the Fylde coast

The Hotel Was Fantastic As The Beds Felt Very Good And The Breakfast Is Very Very Yummy. The Staff Is Very Friendly And The View Is Fantastic Aswell. It Was Around £400 But I Feel Like Is Should Be More Because The Luxury Is ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️. Best Hotel Ever.

Check In was a breeze. Staff very friendly (Reece Amy Chris to name a few) Got to our room (300) and WOW what a Wetroom, Absolutely FANTASTIC... it had everything that we needed. Very Clean throughout. Beds very comfortable. Plenty of space in the room. Food was lovely, especially the Breakfast, Plentiful, really set you up for the day. Fantastic location with parking. We enjoyed it that much, we have booked for our sons birthday next year. Keep up the fantastic work and see you all next year...

Cheap … but cheap for a reason.. room Was clean and spacious, but the window was faulty .. the noise from the wind was awful couldn't close the window as it was so stiff and old . Did inform front desk in the morning and Andrew who I believe was the manager came Up and pulled the window closed with force (I couldn't do this it was so stiff) he was rude and didn't have any people skills what's so ever how or why he is in this industry is beyond me . He just told me it was the seal on the window and walked off .. this wasn't the seal I had videos and photos showing the window.

The staff at this hotel are very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and the bed comfy. The problem is the dogs. My partner is allergic to dogs, they give him breathing problems. In the evening there was a dog in the bar barking as his owners children played with him. Worse still at breakfast in the restaurant yes in the restaurant where people were eating food there was 4 dogs, again lots of barking.

Hadn't stayed at the hotel for over a decade and was worried after reading some of the reviews. We arrived just after 12noon, this is well before check in time. Managed to park the car with no problem and received a friendly welcome. Hannah had a word with a member of the housekeeping department and allowed us to check in to one of the two rooms reserved, meaning we could drop off bags and head to the pleasure beach. The rooms both had a few niggles: cracked bathroom tile no body wash towel rail loose ripped fabric on a bed base However there are little things and can be expected, did in no way affect our stay: Great breakfast Clean rooms Great staff. It's clear to see all staff work hard and you should be proud of the team you have. See you next year

We arrived and checked in and immediately were made to feel important as a guest. The superior room was large and clean with a very comfortable king size bed. The sea view was nice to wake up to and the headboard with pictures of donkeys was a great touch. The breakfast was buffet and very good and hot. The staff were well trained and the hotel should be proud of their professional but friendly attitude to guests.

My fourth visit to the hotel pros public areas very nice, the breakfast was good plenty of choice , the staff were very helpful cons- a parking charge has been introduced since my last stay, I was in room 122 a fair size for a single but the bathroom was very small if you was a bigger framed person you wouldnt be able to sit on the toilet, one window which had frozen glass so no view outside felt a bit like a cell overall the hotel is good, great location and good staff just a few niggles

Gabriel gave us good service throughout our stay. However I should have to point out that 2 members of staff - one in breakfast and the other on reception (both male) were quite curt and didn't match the high standards of the rest of the hotel staff. Overall it was a pleasant stay. The room and communal areas were clean and well presented and I would recommend this hotel to others.

This was the first time we used this hotel as the one we normally used was not available but this hotel was handy to the pleasant street tram stop that was just in front of the hotel. The hotel room was clean and the family room we had was a double bed and a bunk bed we didn't expect that but it was all good my 6 year old loved this as it was different for her. The food was a buffet style breakfast and again was well laid out and nice. The hotel has a car park for about 30 odd cars. This hotel is pet friendly so a few dogs where about. Overall this was a very nice experience and would recommend it to anyone.

Booked a family room for a night for our little trip to Blackpool. We have visited Blackpool around 6 times over the last 7 years and stayed in various BnB's. This time I thought I would splash out a bit more, have a really good stay experience in a nice hotel, paying £169.00 for one night stay. We were given a family room with a bunk bed. The room shabby, the carpet filthy and just so disappointing. The bunk beds didn't even have a proper mattress and had blue plastic ‘jail mattresses' as my 13yo called them. My husband did complain and we were moved to another room where my son did have a single bed to sleep in. But again, carpet not much cleaner, the room was dusty and not up to a very good standard of cleanliness at all. Beds were comfy mind and we slept ok, however room was very hot and I didn't want to use the fan as it was so dirty with dust, I didn't want my kids breathing it in. Breakfast was nice and the staff pleasant. However really disappointed and quite frankly quite cross that we paid so much money for a dirty, shabby, basic room. Would not recommend and would certainly not return. Wish we had just booked a cheap BnB instead, never had an issue with any since we started going to Blackpool.

The room was tiny. Absolutely filthy windows and bathroom window frames literally black with dirt. Bedroom window would not close. Radiator hanging off bracket. Dirty walls and even smoke alarm was taped over. Very disappointed. The staff were the only redeeming feature. Very friendly

We have stayed at this hotel many times its always a good stay, the staff are very friendly and helpful, the house keeping staff work so hard to make your stay enjoyable with the rooms spotless, the hotel is opposite the sea and has a lovely veranda which you can sit out and watch the world go by, the food is lovely too, breakfast is plentiful, the hotel is about 15 minutes walk to the town there is parking on site at a £5 charge per night. The only down side in my opinion is no entertainment.

Stayed for 2 night, great location, quiet area with tramstop right outside. We had room 310, room was a good size with a nice bathroom with bath. Quite warm in room but a fan was provided. Lovely reception area and restaurant, could sit over looking the prom also had a terrace to sit and watch the world go by. Breakfast was very nice, cereal, breads, croissants, and enough choice with the cooked breakfast. Would definitely stay here again.

The lock on the door was broken for over a day. When we went out we were constantly worried about our belongings. We reported the toilet was broken and nothing was done we woke up to a completely flooded bathroom so we couldn't have a shower or even use the toilet. I have never seen anything like it in my life. It nearly ruined our hard earned trip

Have stayed here previously without problems. However, staff this time were very rude and not accommodating. Even when I had the Do Not Disturb sign on the door, the housekeeper knocked and knocked the door and then just walked in; totally unacceptable. The floor is uneven and caused my elderly mother to fall and when this was reported it was just shrugged off with staff saying they were aware of it and it was going to be repaired; no warning signs or anything in situ to warn customers !!! We weren't aware of extra costs for parking which would have been nice to be told on arrival.

I'm struggling to understand why the downstairs is really nice and the rooms look like this? Very grim room, stains all over the carpets, marks all over walls. I'm glad I only paid £48! Management need to sort this out, it's not acceptable!!!!

Great hotel away from all the noise with a gorgeous view of the sea. The reception area is really nice and clean. The staff are very friendly, especially the young man in the restaurant! The room was perfectly fine for the price, we paid around £45. It had everything you needed, fan, hairdryer, big TV, bath and shower. There's a tram stop right outside and parking is available. We will definitely be returning and highly recommended this hotel!

Lovely staff, best view ever from the lounge and restaurant . It's just beyond the North Pier and it's a quit location but still only 10 mins walk from the main area. I loved my stay and would recommend it 100%

This hotel is in a good position and an easy walk into town. Our room, a standard twin was disappointing as it was down a narrow corridor and the room very small, no offer of help with our suitcase even though my husband is an older person. There is a lift to the 2nd floor but once our of the lift the walk to our room was quite challenging. Breakfast was OK, but not a lot of variety. Needed my glasses on to see the choice of coffees available on the coffee machine. Would we stay again ? Probably not.

The staff at this hotel outstanding. JohnJo gave us wonderful service for our dinner and the lady at reception made us feel really welcome. The room is super; the hotel is about 10 minute walk to the centre but with the view of the sea and bach and the Isle of Man not far away there's no need to move far from the otel. The food was excellently cooked. We had the Merlot and hat was good too. Plus it's dog friendly.

Recently enjoyed a family stay here , couldn't fault it , the staff were super nice and so accommodating. The welcome we got on arrival from Dan really help settle our nervous dog he took his time and gave him so much attention .We had booked a family room and it was what we expected , plenty space and really clean we had the added bonus of a stunning view of the sunset . The bar was reasonably priced and well stocked and had a comprehensive menu that suited even our fussy kids . The staff are so hard working and dedicated it was a joy to stay here and will definitely return . Keep up the good work guys

The breakfast is £9.95, buffet style. You'd expect for that price there would be everything that constitutes a full English. No, I'm afraid not. Bacon, Sausage, scrambled eggs & beans is all that's on offer. No tomatoes, no mushrooms, no hash browns. A sign on the table said “If you would like your eggs fried or poached, please ask a member of our team”. So we asked for fried eggs, only to be told “Sorry we don't do fried eggs”. The sausages were undercooked and the beans stewed. So if you want a decent breakfast, I strongly recommend you eat elsewhere. You can get a proper full English 200 yards up the street for a fiver.

On arrival we were informed that it was £5 per night to park the car! Last time that we stayed at this hotel the parking was free! The receptionist was very pleasant and very friendly. We went up to our small bedroom with a particularly small bathroom. There was no toilet roll holder and no shelf to put your creams etc. I wouldn't mind but there was definitely room for both! The duvet was one of the thinnest I have ever seen but luckily it wasn't a cold night! There was only one small draw in the room also. We did eat in the restaurant and the food was very good I don't think that we would stay here again !

The location is ideal, away from the noisy area, but walkable to attractions. We booked a superior room, £150 for one night. The seaview was great, however the room smelled of damp and dog. The bed was uncomfy, as were the pillows. The bed cover was unclean, the miniature bathroom was last decorated circa 1980, with the mold around the shower tiles to prove it. The shower didn't drain and nearly flooded the room, temp was very hard to control, and the fixed shower head was firing at the wall, the bathroom smelled worse than the bedroom. Having seen the state of the bathroom, we didn't risk eating or drinking there. Wouldn't stay there again for free.

I have left a review specifically for the staff at this hotel. I stayed with a disabled friend and at every single point, the staff have been simply amazing. I must call out Hannah in particular who gave us a lovely smile the moment we walked through the door and every time she saw us. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff here and frankly they made our holiday. The rooms are modern and comfy and clean. The bar area has a view of the sea as does the restaurant and there is a lift. I would most definitely stay again but will try and poach Hannah to come and work in rail! lol

Holidayed at this hotel in 2021 and had to pay for parking at the hotel because I hadn't booked directly with Best Western - in May 2022 I holidayed at this hotel after booking directly with Best Western but was told I had to pay for parking at £5 per night, apparently the policy had changed on the 1st April 2022 which is ok but 2 ladies in front of me didn't have to pay for parking because they were a "group booking" when I queried why I had to pay. Make your own conclusion

We are a couple. We stayed for one night on Friday 13 May in room 113. This is a double room with sea view. This is the second visit to the hotel and unfortunately it's not as good as it was. Overall it requires some TLC PRO's Great location, right on the sea front. We went to see a band at Winter Gardens and this was just a 10 minute stroll away. Friendly staff Sea View Room Comfy bed Complimentary dressing gowns, chocolate and water Buffet style breakfast with good selection CON's £5 a day to park on site which we were not told about when booking. It used to be free for residents. There had been a bad leak to the ceiling in our room, decor and curtain pelmet were all in poor condition with stains and flaking paint which was on the carpet. Windows needed cleaning to make the most of the lovely view !

I booked a one night solo stay here as I was attending an event in Blackpool. I'll start with the positives. All the staff I encountered were very helpful, polite and friendly, and the hotel itself is in a great location on Blackpool seafront. It's about a 10/15 minute walk from the hotel to the town centre. Unfortunately that's where the positives end. I can't complain too much about my room being incredibly small, as I only booked a single room so I wasn't expecting a large space. The bathroom however was ridiculously small, as an average size female I could barely fit into the shower! The shower itself required an engineering degree to figure out how it operates. When I finally got the shower working the water was only running freezing cold despite following the instruction label on the wall to change the temperature. Then out of nowhere the water became so hot it burnt me as I stepped into the shower. It fluctuated between freezing and boiling for a few minutes before it eventually settled at lukewarm. The bathroom floor is also very slippy when wet, as the flooring isn't non slip like you normally get in hotels. The view from my window was of the fire exits, not very picturesque. The bed was the most uncomfortable hotel bed I've ever slept in, my back was really sore when I woke up. The walls are so thin you could hear every movement in the corridor and EVERYTHING the couple next door were doing. The central heating was constantly on which made the room unbearably hot, the windows in the room don't open to let any air in. Between the uncomfortable bed, drunk people noisily returning to their rooms and the heat I barely slept through the night. I wasn't notified upon booking, and I'm shocked this isn't mentioned in other reviews, but they take a £50 charge off your card at check in (on top of what you've paid for your room). They give you some spiel about how this can be used in the restaurant etc. Sorry but I can't abide hotels that do this, and it almost certainly guarantees I'll never book with them again. Apparently I'll get the £50 back into my bank within 4-5 working days. I bought food elsewhere when I'd have probably tried the hotel restaurant had they not done this. I'll choose where I spend my money thanks, rather than be coerced into it! Also the 10.30am check out time is just bonkers! I've never known any hotel throw you out so early, and I've stayed in a lot! Thanks to the awful night's sleep I ended up sleeping in, meaning I didn't get the chance to go down for the pre-booked breakfast as I had to get showered and ready to check out at such a ridiculous time. I wouldn't book to stay here again and I wouldn't recommend it to others either.

Good location, staff were mostly polite & helpful, poor amenities, toilets broken, no light in the lift, no room cleaning was done, the retaurant was very very poor except for breakfast, a lot of road noise & with broken window handles we could not close the double glazed windows properly

Just got back from an Easter weekend here, overall the hotel is very good, the staff are very friendly. Check in was a little complicated but was soon sorted. Perfect location right on the sea front, the room was amazing but we couldn't seem to turn the heating off and the whole hotel seems to have the same problem. This is a pet friendly hotel which is great the only downside is your not allowed to leave your pet in the room. Overall a fantastic weekend and will be back

Felt comfortable and safe in the hotel. Easy to park out front and only £5 a night. We had a sea facing family room with large double and a set of bunks. 2 chairs in the bay window were a nice touch to watch the world go by. Room was a good size with a huge bathroom. Nice that there were proper radiators that could be controlled and windows that could be opened. Yes the room could benefit from a refresh but it was clean and comfortable. Shower was a power shower which was easy to use although difficult to get to stay at the right temperature- kept getting very hot. The only annoying bit I found was the position of the lights above the bed- you were blinded when lying down but could not sit up as the lights were In the way! Breakfast was good every morning. Staff all very pleasant. Would we stay again if in Blackpool? Yes we would

Fine upgraded rooms and amenities with above expectations from all staff. The hotel offers a fine position on the North Shore and Sea Views. Of special mention is the secure and easy forecourt parking. A great Blackpool Hotel that my wife and I have exsperienced over many years. Well done to the Carlton for maintaining a great standard for guests after a most difficult period for the Travel and Tourist Industries.

On entering hotel is lovely reception ,lounge and dining area, but dont let fool you wait till you see the room. Carpets all stained filthy curtains a hole in the wall with a pole stuck from one end to another for a wardrobe. So please if you have booked this hotel check the room before paying.

Room was clean but small. Plenty of tea & coffee provided daily Near centre with access to Tram & Bus outside hotel. Mattress was very uncomfortable and sagging in the middle Room noisy due to it being beside steps. Shower wasn't draining properly. Reported after first night but sadly nothing changed to make the stay more comfortable.

Overall this place was ok, bedroom small but tidy, very warm thou, food was ok, staff ok, parking needed to pay for but reasonably fine. Location was about 5 minute walk north from the tower but again not an issue. Overall would stay again for a night.

Had a Very enjoyable stay, read some poor reviews which worried us, absolutely no need to be honest. Comfortable room, nice bar area although beer was pricey at £5.50 a pint. Breakfast was fine, good quality, bar staff were very good, would stay here again without hesitation

We had lovely two days staying room only. Staff are always welcoming. Young blonde girl on reception especially friendly. Found my scarf when I lost and got it to me. Hopefully returning with family in a few weeks.

Very basic hotel. Our small room had a lovely view of a brick wall and fire escape which was a shame as the hotel was extremely quiet, not at all busy. We had a double room which was adequate, a bit outdated, as was the bathroom which was very narrow. The shower however, again old and in need of a bit of TLC was really powerful and easy to control temperature wise. There was a fan in the room which was great and they also supply a hairdryer. We both had a great nights sleep, the bed was comfy and clean. Breakfast was good as far as the toast, cereals etc, self service with jam and honey along pastries and juices, the cooked breakfast on the other hand was awful! Overcooked tough bacon, dried up sausage and baked beans that looked like they had been around a while due to their mushy dark colour. Served with a hash brown and fried or scrambled eggs, no tomatoes or mushrooms are available. There was only 3 other people having breakfast so I'm sure they could have fried up some fresh food. All in all it's not a great place but for an overnight stay it was ok.

We were travelling with our puppy and appreciated the service from friendly staff. Accommodation and restaurant was spot on. Overall Perfect hotel to stay in. Dog bowls and treats by the door were such a great touch. Very glad we found a dog friendly hotel, see you again soon.

They cancelled my booking five days before my book no reason why . I sent messages saying it my birthday I sorry . It is a shame . I am so upset and they didn't say why they cancelled. I had booked train and everything and dog sitter . They don't care and should look after their customers .

The hotel is a Ross the road from a convenient tram stop and the beach. You can have a lovely stroll along the promenade and the tower is about a 10 minute walk from the hotel. The restaurant provided nice food for a fair price. Staff are all very friendly and helpful. Would recommend staying here.

Extortion at its best, we pain £105 per night for the tiniest box room with breakfast. The room was freezing cold and the window was a frosted glass so you couldn't see out We got up for breakfast which stopped serving at 9.30 and were in the dining room for 9.15 ordered our food which was minimal at best, I wanted a coffee when I had finished my breakfast went to the machine and it was off and was told if I want a coffee now I would have to pay for it !!!!!!!!!!!!! Common sense says the coffee machine would stay on until diners have actually eaten their breakfast I brought this up with the staff he said he had gone round the tables and asked we were in a group and had three tables in the room and none were asked or informed of the situation but the waiter barefaced stood and said he had been and told us. I brought this up with the front desk and both the restaurant manager and the receptionist just shrugged and said well that's the way it is Room a HUGE rip off breakfast poor at best and staff absolutely rude and not a care in the world if they give the hotel a bad name

This is our 5th visit to this hotel and oh dear very disappointed. Everything seemed to be too much trouble - I would of thought in the present climate they would be glad to service guests with what they want.

we stayed here for Christmas eve & Christmas day leaving on boxing day, the hotel is lovely the meal Christmas eve was excellent how ever the Christmas day evening buffet was not the best , it was a little bit of a poor choice. Christmas eve entertainment was fantastic the atmosphere was buzzing everyone was up dancing it was a great night. it was a pity the hotel did nothing Christmas day or night, there was nothing on no quiz no singer nothing it was a little depressing to be honest. would we stay again ....yes & yes again at Christmas if they put something on Christmas day evening

First time using this hotel, for a new years festive trip. Reasonably priced, pleasant professional staff, good service, clean and comfortable rooms, conveniently located. An overall satisfactory stay. Highly recommended.

I had picked Best Western out of the hundreds of hotels because I am a loyalty scheme member and I believed I would get better service. Unfortunately I was wrong. We visited during inclement weather, with three suitcases. We arrived an hour early for check-in because we had travelled by train and that's when it arrived. There was no one at reception. We waited 10 mins and I looked around and no one appeared. Eventually a young man wandered past and I had to shout out to him for assistance. He then called for someone else and a receptionist came over. She said she could not check us in as our rooms weren't ready. I accepted this and asked if there was somewhere we could stow our bags. She said no. The hotel is very large, and it's a chain, it's not outrageous to expect somewhere to store your bags, even Travelodge do it. I asked if she was sure, seeing as I had my elderly mother with us and it was inconvenient to have three suitcases with us. She was not at all helpful or friendly and just shrugged and said no. She then said that actually our rooms were ready, but we would have to pay an extra £25 per room (we had booked 2) just to put our luggage in them. I couldn't believe it. That is extortionate and madness. Bearing in mind the rate for the room was only about £45 per night. Once again, she just shrugged. So we took our suitcases with us into town and had to wheel them around Blackpool until we could return just an hour later to put them in our rooms. To give them the benefit of the doubt, I emailed their management directly with my feedback and after several days, was given all the usual 'but Covid' excuses. I haven't had any other hotels refuse luggage storage because of Covid, and certainly none that would charge £25 for 60mins early check in. I'm a reasonable person and I know times have been tough, but this is either insane bureaucracy (if I'm being kind) or greed (if I'm not). It was a Thursday lunchtime and they weren't exactly bustling. The rooms were very small and the bathroom dirty. There's nowhere to put any toiletries so you have to hold them while showering etc. Do yourself a favour and go somewhere else.

Baffling why when the hotel is not full we would be put in the smallest room of the hotel, especially when we were traveling with our dog! The room was 201 and it was tiny! Not really big enough for 2 people let alone 2 people and a dog! The room got quite hot because it was so small. Plus the sound proofing isn't great. The included breakfast was quite good but the staff could certainly do with some customer relations training as most, struggled to communicate in any meaningful way! If you want free parking you need to book direct, but the Best Western brand in the UK is no where near as good as the brand in North America.

Very clean & tidy hotel. The room was decorated to a high standard. Superb bathroom. Even Robes & slippers suppliered. Good location north of the North Pier with tram stop outside. Ample free parking if booked via Best Western.

I have just finished a two night weekend break at Blackpool and chose this hotel for accommodation. Website rather overestimated everything from room cleanliness to food standards leaving me totally underwhelmed by my stay. In hotel prices were rather expensive and service poor. Rooms and décor were jaded and outdated and the whole hotel is in sad need of a refurbishment. Staff were pleasant to speak to but you could not trust them to follow through with any problems they had agreed to sort out for you. Overall for the prices they were charging I felt I could have done a lot better than this and will not be returning ant time soon.

I stayed for 2 nights in a single room, bed and breakfast overlooking the back of the hotel, over a weekend for £190.00. The hotel and room was clean and had everything I needed. The single room was comfortable with decent sized bathroom and good sized TV and decent hairdryer. The pillows were a little lumpy and the shower switched between hot and cold but otherwise it was fine. Breakfast was good with decent choice and good coffee. The bar and lounge areas were lovely and had great views. All the staff were excellent, very helpful and friendly. Overall, a nice hotel with good facilities and staff.

Stayed 2 nights BnB … room was well decorated beds clean and very comfy. Plenty of towels. Staff from the minute you arrive are so friendly and helpful.. Breakfast was well cooked and good quality. All lounges, well furnished and spaced. Sanitiser stations all over the hotel. Only 10 minute walk to the North Pier and the Tower.

Parking was very tight almost full yet the hotel was practically empty. There was no mention when we booked that there would be a £5 charge. Double bed in the room was right up against the wall, very,very compact. The room was nothing like the photos. On checking out there was no one on the desk to check us out.

Our room was small and a bit tired. Our bed wasn't made up and the disposable plastic cups were removed and not replaced. There was no room telephone and no information on the hotel or "What's on in Blackpool".

This hotel donated a voucher to the radiowave charity auction in December 2018, (pre covid) The voucher was for a luxury night's stay for two people with a hearty breakfast to follow in the morning. The charity was for a good cause so I bid £120.00 and won the lot, Now the voucher had no expiry date on it so didn't rush to redeem it, then we had the covid outbreak and lockdown etc, and people were frightened to socialise and leave the house. When things turned to some sort of normality I tried to make the booking. The manager refused to accept the voucher. There was absolutely no valid reason for this. I rest my case

My wife had booked a 3 night stay in Blackpool for a short mid week break. We weren't staying at the Best Western but with past experience of staying at B, Western throughout the country over many years and being a Best Western Diamond card holder, I persuaded my wife to let us book for an evening meal at the Carlton expecting the quality I had had in the past. This turned out to be a disaster ! Very limited menu, I think at most 5 main courses, I ordered mushrooms as a starter, after 5 minutes the waiter came and informed me they had run out ! Ordered Fish and chips for mains , 5 minutes later the waiter then informed me they had run out of fish ( A sea side hotel with no Fish !!) Ordered Gammon as an alternative which turned out to be like a large slice of very fatty Bacon with what were obviously frozen chips and peas. my wife being a vegetarian ordered the 3 cheese ravioli , again obviously straight out of the microwave. we decided to cut our losses and didn't even want to risk a dessert . Complained to the young chap waiting on us who went off to see his boss ? came back with very little response other than slight reduction on the bill. I would point out that this was 7 pm, with 3 other people in the restaurant and they had run out of half of the items on the menu !!! Not a good advertisement foe Best Western

Today my friend and I stayed at this hotel, the staff were friendly, the rooms were spacious, I would certainly stay at the hotel again, and we had a drink in the bar, and the lady who served me was nice

Seafront location, walking distance to Tower. Great breakfasts and friendly staff. Room was very small, nowhere to store clothing not on a hanger, shower tray overflowed, no shower soap provided, no shelf in shower for wash stuff. Certainly not a 3 star . Bed mattress needs replacement,

Spent 4 nights at this awful place. The food was very poor quality mainly served cold or over micro waved. Choice of menu very limited. Rooms are very short on storage and not very clean. Our room was not hoovered once during our stay. Top tip stay away and save your money.

Booked again as we had such a great stay back in July. We weren't disappointed!! As before booked as the hotel is so dog friendly-treats and water at reception and dogs allowed everywhere in the hotel (yes even in the dining room shock horror to all the moaning Minnie's complaining in here!) Why people book a hotel that is clearly advertised as dog friendly when they don't like the fact dogs will be staying is beyond me. It's simple if you don't want to stay where dogs do book somewhere else! As many pubs and cafes allow dogs in, why should a hotel dining area be different for goodness sake!? Rant over. The hotel is lovely, well situated and everywhere clean. Yes some of rooms maybe small as ours was, but clean and comfortable. We don't come away to live in our room anyway. If you want 5 star Ritz or Savoy, maybe you should book in London-this is Blackpool and the hotel is just fine. Food and drink good, and the staff were as hard working, professional, friendly and welcoming as last time we stayed. We had a lovely time and will be back. Ant dog people-go elsewhere!!

Had a lovely stay here over the weekend. The team were great and really welcoming. Will definitely come again soon. The room was clean and had everything you would normally expect. It was handy that parking was close

We were made welcome as soon as we entered the room was exceptionally clean with plenty of tea making facilities and a well stocked bathroom toiletries, the bed very comfortable and fresh. Breakfast was well provided for from toast to full cooked. Staff throughout the hotel were caring and considerate. All in all an excellent place to stay.

We picked this hotel as we had a voucher from Myhotelbreaks and this was not far from home. I had read reviews on the website and they wasnt very good so wasnt expecting much. All I can say is I dont know what some people expect, its only a 3 star but we had no complaints at all, well maybe a couple but nothing major. Service was excellent, we had a Superior sea view room which was adequate (if we had stayed for more than one night would have requested a shower rather than a shower over bath) food was amazing, situated in a good location. Only problem I had was I use a CPAP machine at night and had to plug it in on the wall facing the bed (just fit).

If you're seeking a luxury break in Blackpool, then you're looking in the wrong resort. Even supposedly high-end 4-star establishments have no shortage of poor reviews on this site. So, go down the coast the Lytham instead. With that out of the way, The Best Western Carlton is perhaps one of the better hotels in the town. As a 3-star one, it does what it says on the tin, nothing more, nothing less and, like Blackpool itself, there's no pretence. It's in a great position, on the quieter north shore, doesn't allow stag/hen parties, or coach-tours for that matter, has an efficient team of staff, is clean, and has on-site parking (for a nominal fee). The public areas are plain, if not functional, but the main lounge looks directly out to sea. There's no luggage-store for early arrivals or late check-outs. Our sea-facing Superior room was somewhat scuffed and worn, but was quite a good size, and even had (rare for a 3-star) bathrobes and slippers. Storage was limited. We couldn't fault the cleanliness. Comfy beds with crisp linen, and a clean and bright, though dated and well-worn, bathroom. It was quiet, and we slept well. We stayed two nights, but our bathroom was not cleaned, nor the towels changed, during our stay. Of the latter, we don't mind for a couple of nights, in the interests of economy and saving the planet, but we should have been told. Breakfast was basic, no more than adequate, though the dining room was well-managed, and the food piping hot. The main bouquet goes to the staff, without exception, helpful and friendly. They could teach 5-star establishments a thing or two! Katie on reception is a real sweetie, and she really knows what customer care means. Value for money? More or less yes. We got a better deal via a booking website than directly with the hotel, and so B&B with a Superior sea-view worked out at £125.00 per room per night, plus parking. But I wouldn't have wanted to pay more.

Stayed here 3 times before and this will definitely be the last, last March we stayed and it was poor no heating And no hot water was told-boiler had broken in March it was freezing. but assured by manager that it was one off and we could stay 1 night free next time. However he never returned our emails so we just thought it's a one off we will go back to be supporting after COVID and helping businesses return …NEVER AGAIN. We paid £128.00 a night stayed for 2 nights , on arrival placed in a room size of a broom cupboard, partner complained and was given second room again definately not worth money , massive stains all over carpet, bathroom grubby and overlooking the bloody roof !!!! Told sea view to the right… if we bent our necks round the window Told there was no other room and from that point noone wanted to know. Made most of it as was out all day anyway, breakfast very poor sausage Hardly cooked, fresh fruit bananas black people queing waiting for bread and plates, not great at all. On checking out manager on desk never even asked how our stay was …so just thought what a poor poor shame that best western hotels have dropped to this very low standard , definitely won't go back here, best thing about this is location . For what we paid we will stay at big blue next time definitely won't give Carlton a third chance so if your thinking like us it's best western and they are always nice then think again this as gone downhill massively

I had paid for a Superior sea view, for the price i was disappointed at the service. At check in we were told the room was not ready. we could not leave our bags at the hotel so had to take them back to the car. When we came back there was a que at reception and only one person checking guests in (although there were other staff around who could have cleared the que. The room was clean and yes we did have a sea view but as the windows were dirty it wasn't a great view. We reported a fault with the kettle, but reception told us they did not know where they kept spare kettles but would try to get us a new one. It never arrived. Breakfast was a bit chaotic, it took a while before they took our breakfast order. The toaster was an old manual toaster that you had to keep lifting the bread up with a very stiff handle to check if had toasted the bread. The breakfast was basic, either full English or vegetarian, although we had the vegetarian breakfast this just consisted of a hash brown, beans and 2 vegie sausage, fried or scrambled egg (no tomatoes or mushrooms) If I ever stayed here again I would opt for room only and go to a café for breakfast. I dont think the whole package was worth the price i paid.

Booked superior room. No bath. Tiny shower. Not amused as a previous visit in a twin room had a bath ! Apparently when booking you have to put in special request for a bath !! Ridiculous when booking a superior room. Also not enough staff in hotel, some waiting staff need to brush up on their manners and are quite abrupt and rude. Good things, nice clean hotel, food piping hot, not noisy on a night.

Hotel was not in as good condition as previous BW Hotels that I have stayed in, I suspect due to recovering from Covid closure. Carpet looked very dirty and I made sure that I always had shoes on - other than in bed. Staff pleasant and helpful, but problems not fixed. The room windows opened onto a busy local cut through with lots of noise, people, road traffic and service vehicles. No net curtains, so either full curtains closed or none at all. The top windows which I could not reach, were all fully open and I could not close them resulting in the curtain being blown away from the frame when it was windy, which was every night. Mentioned problem to reception but nothing done so was very cold on bed. Room costs over 4 days were £100 more than associates that booked the same as I room type and dates. Lesson learned - do not book direct through BW! Breakfast was restricted in choice and making toast took ages, the restaurant had a Specials sheet which remained the same over 5 days. Car parking free with booking and outside the front door so very secure. I did not notice any staff eearing masks but plenty of sanitiser. I have stayed in far better BW hotels and was willing to pay the premium to stay here but money not wisely spent. This is an annual stay but will not be here again, a pity.

Very helpful gentleman on reception. Bedroom very dark but basic, no hot water from shower. Breakfast really nice and only £5.00 to park the car for one night. Might stay again if its only for one night.

dirty lift and corridors - room not cleaned properly - only hot water in the shower or cold water in the bath mixer did not work - tiny room with no room either side of the double bed - not to be touched with a bargepole!

I booked a room Superior King Room – Mobility Accessible for my parents in the Best Western Carlton Hotel Blackpool. My Mum is in a wheelchair and it is the first time she has been well enough to have a short break in years. On arriving at the hotel they were upset to find that although the room did have wide doors and an accessible bathroom that is where the accessible part of the room ended. The bed was so large that there was no room to get the wheelchair up the side of the bed and the rest of the room was so small that once you were in with a wheelchair there was not enough room to turn it round. My Dad immediately went and spoke to a manager only to be told that they were fully booked and that there was nothing he could do. I live just around the corner from the hotel (in a top flat which is why they were not staying with me) so when I went to see them I pushed the bed right up to one side so that we could get the wheelchair up the other side, this meant that my 80 year old Dad had to climb into bed from the bottom. Had my parents been there alone they would have had to come home as they could not have managed without my help. I have obviously complained to the hotel but were told that the room met the definition of “accessible” and that the access point to the bed is not a requirement. They also said “Had someone spoken with the team, we would have moved the bed and certainly do not expect you to have done this.” As previously stated my Dad spoke to the manager who was no help at all. The hotel itself is nice enough but I just wanted to make people aware that if you are booking an accessible room it may not be accessible.

At present staying in the hotel, very friendly staff and spotlessly clean environment . The room is fairly small but again it is spotlessly clean as is the bathroom. Only problem is that for a disabled person, it is an obstacle course, there is a lift but after exiting it , you have to walk to your room up and down stairs along the corridors. So if you are fit and able, an excellent hotel but if disabled avoid, although the staff are quite sympathetic towards your plight

All staff very welcoming and friendly. Our room was spotless and housekeeping ladies and gents were always helpful on the very rare times you needed anything. Reception Very efficient and happy to have a chat when they were not too busy. Katie and Danny - management - regularly checking everything was ok. Very quiet at night so a great nights sleep. Followed by a freshly cooked breakfast made to order. Already booked for next year.

Super friendly reception and all well as this was a return visit. Great refreshed room and exceptional bathroom. Ideal facilities post covid and nothing at all to worry about. Breakfast good and served to table. Car park on site. Will certainly return.

All staff pleasant and approachable, with sence of humour. Had a delux double room with sea view- which was great, room a little compact but clean and shower excellent , even better had a bath which we had not specified. Drinks in room were. Easy to get replacements from reception area staff. Good choice at breakfast and sndwhiches we had sat out on terraced area were excellent thoroughly enjoyed our short stay and would stay again.

We stayed 1 night in a double room overlooking the back. The room was very outdated especially the bathroom. Everywhere was clean however the carpet was so badly stained and dirty. The bed was comfy and the noise level surrounding us quiet. At breakfast we were greeted and told someone will be over to take our order. We waited 15 minutes until we had to ask if our order can be taken. The man was pretty much on his own serving, taking orders and seating people; the hotel need to allocate more staff for breakfast it was half an hour to get a low quality minimal breakfast served. You need to ask for quantities of what you want e.g 2 sausages etc otherwise you get 1 thing as standard. The cereal and pastries were a good selection and you can help yourself to that. Checkin and out was effortless and the man on reception was pleasant. Overall we didn't expect much especially for the price paid and the fact it was a hotel that welcomed dogs, the good points outweigh the bad but don't expect too much.

The carpet was SO stained. Paint crumbling off the wall. Duvet cover ripped. Mattress protector torn. Big brown nudge of something (?!?!) On the mattress. Bed mad poorly with sheets that didn't fit. Rubbish and balls of hair on the floor. Restaurant food wasn't cheap and was quite poor. The hotel otherwise looks lovely, is in a good location and if the rooms were clean they'd be adequate, albeit expensive. Also, the staff are amazing. Such lovely, friendly, helpful people. We appreciated them a lot during our stay.

Great hotel for what you pay. Perfect location, close enough to town to walk but far enough away to get some Peace and quiet. Rooms good and staff great. Seen some negative reviews but not sure what these people expect. Bar is good, and close to attractions.

Fantastic service and a very pleasant place, food was great, staff- phil & Hannah in the dining area are priceless, both so friendly, I think its Chris on the desk who is also very friendly. I only had one concern which was when a wedding event was on, the noise fed upto the room quite loud but as the manager who I think is called Danny was very apologetic and once explained how long these people had waited to tie the knot then we understood and went out until it was over which was 10pm, very acceptable. Would come back no problem. Overall we enjoyed ourselves, great sea views. Again all fabulous staff.

We stayed at the Best Western Carlton for a weekend and had a great stay. Check in was very easy and the gentleman at the check in desk was polite and helpful. My first impression as I entered the hotel was how clean and well presented it was, which is something I always look out for. We went up to our room (201) and were a little disappointed with the size of the room as it was a lot smaller than we envisaged although the room was spotlessly clean. As the hotel was full we were unable to move but we spent most of our time out of the room so it wasn't a problem. Our nights sleep was great as the bed was very comfortable. We went down for breakfast and were greeted at the dining room on both mornings by a very happy and cheery young lady who was very helpful and informative. Breakfast was more than adequate and a very good selection was offered including pastries, fruit, cereal and a hearty fried breakfast. On Sunday morning I asked for an extra towel and more tea bags etc and spoke to a lady called Donna, who was so helpful. She couldn't do enough for us and like other staff was happy and cheery. Checkout was easy although there was nowhere to leave our luggage and as we weren't on a train until later in the day was a slight issue. All in all we had a great stay and would definitely go back again.

Booked a premium room at this 80s dated dump the room was at back of hotel in a dingy area window was backed on to a pavement £760 for 4 night we decided before paying this was not for us the only thing obvious on arrival was some old timer taking payments he would be wouldn't he from the arrivals no other staff obvious and they also have taken £180 from us for the first night that we did not stay a overpriced outdated money making gravy train for the owners stay clear

Check in was prompt and staff were welcoming and helpful (gave us details of tram and taxi services) . Car parking is £5 per day on is onsite there was plenty of spaces when we arrived. Our rooms were all on the same floor, good standard, clean with toiletries. The superior seaview room was excellent came with robe, slippers and extra water/snacks rather than standard tea/coffee (available in others). Rooms were cleaned everyday with fresh towels. The hotel is dog friendly but during our visit we did not experience any inconvenience to our visit. We would recommend this hotel and will return in the future. Thank you for a lovely weekend stay.

I booked the wrong hotel to my friend but I thought doesn't matter as when you normally pay more you get what you pay for and I love best western our favourite moat house Stoke on Trent so because I couldn't cancel I thought oh it will be a blessing really . Asked how much upgrade was to rooms with seaside wall mural was as it was 60 pounds I couldn't afford that but wasn't a massive deal as I was sure myself and my son would still have a lovely stay especially as this is a treat and surprise for my son As I've been I'm such poor health I've booked pleasure beach and have unfortunately just found out they can't store suitcase and if i wanted to store it In room I would have to to pay for early check in for 25 pounds . Wish I never made the mistake booking I can't take suitcase to pleasure beach and still not in best health wish I read reviews now because. Honestly dreading it now and feel like a failure . I always try and leave positive reviews and was.planing on a lovely write up for them but I can't lie how this has really upset me wish I asked before I booked and I know I'm to blame but I've never come across this issue before and I can't be only person on trains and needing to not have suitcase thankfully off my walking stick but Please think of this before booking learn from Mt mistake .

Brilliant 3 night stay in an immaculate Hotel. Booked 2 rooms adapted room, on ground floor, it was amazing. A lot of thought has went into the design and size of the room, definatley 5 star, well done. Other room 2nd floor sea view, comfy bed, lovely refurb, bathrobes and slippers. Staff went above and beyond to make our stay memorable. Will definatley be booking again would highly recommend booking this hotel. Lastly thank you to Anna, Daniel and Gillian for looking after us.

Absolutely fabulous hotel. Staff go above and beyond to help and give you amazing friendly service. We loved it so much we decided to stay on another night and the staff went out of there way to make that happen. Donna was great and checked if our new room was ready so we could move straight in. Breakfast was beautiful and they do a good pint. I don't usually leave reviews but after lots of stays in different hotels throughout Blackpool, this has to be by far the best hotel to date. Booked 3 rooms as travelling around. The rooms were fine and clean. Hotel staff friendly and the breakfast was nice with a good choice. Located just past the North pier it had a nice car park on site.

On a staycation this year and visited a variety of locations with our final stop in Blackpool. Booked a room at the Carlton and very happy with our choice. Staff were very welcoming and professional and would like to say a special thanks to Danny. There was an issue with the TV in our room which Danny tried to resolve which unfortunately he couldn't but, immediately told us he had another room ready for us. All of the staff from housekeeping to reception to bar staff were very friendly. Also good car parking facilities on site. Our room was spotlessly clean with toiletries and with a nice sea view. My only criticism if anything the room was very warm and could do with a fan, but it certainly would not put me off returning and recommending to anyone.

Just back from 3 nights staying in this very average place, brutal is an understatement, been to Blackpool numerous times and never met more unwelcoming hosts in my visits, no toiletries or towels in rooms, staff have no interest, unless they need you to move your car. Don't go near this false advertised place.

We had previously stayed two years ago & had a good experience & so it was the obvious choice. Immaculately clean hotel. Nice airy bar area with a large part overlooking the sea front & the hotel was in a good location close to the central attractions such as shopping & the Blackpool Tower. Friendly & attentive staff.

Second stay here, this time in a sea view room. The best thing about this hotel is its location, right on the seafront and close to the North Pier and town. We had a great view. The room was a bit smaller than I'd been expecting and some of the furniture was past its best, but on the whole ok. There's no aircon, but the windows open so you get good sea air. The hotel also has a terrace at the front and it was great to sit out there having a drink and enjoying the atmosphere. The staff were very good with the exception of one maskless guy who marched around as if he owned the place. I would stay here again if the price was right - around £100 for a sea view room is about right. We all enjoyed ourselves.

We opened the door of room 109 and it was immediately apparent from the smell that someone had recently vomited in the room, I hoped that opening the window would clear the smell - which to some extent it did. I assumed that if housekeeping were happy to let the room go like this, then we wouldn't be met with much sympathy if we complained. The carpet is dirty & stained generally, and the two armchairs were both worn through on the arms. The bathroom floor had long brown hairs on it, and behind the bath tap on the chipped basin, some kind of black deposit was emerging. We established that the vomit smell was eminating from the RHS of the bed, beside the bay window and I found myself climbing off & onto the bed at the end, rather than put my feet to the floor at the side. During the night, I got a particularly strong whiff of vomit and realised that one of the pillows was also affected - but a fresh pillow case had been pulled over it. The next morning (Sat 3rd July 2021) I asked for the pillows to be changed, and explained why. The pillows were changed and the vomit patch attacked with some kind of aerosol to mask the smell - which returned. I have attached photos, including the stained & unwashed mattress topper. What also stuck in my krall, was that I WAS BEING CHARGED £168 PER NIGHT FOR THIS. For which you don't even get an iron provided.

Lovely family room, great staff, very friendly and professional could not do enough for you. Food was excellent, especially the chicken and leek pie would definitely recommend it. Lovely young lady doing the drinks was especially friendly. Felt very welcome indeed. Tram stop just outside the door, both ways, parking was also available. This hotel is also dog friendly, treats and water for the dogs are at the front door, what an excellent touch by Best Western.

The only things that were good about this place was the sea view / location and the breakfast was ok. We go to Blackpool every year and normally stay in premier inn Or travelodge but thought would upgrade to this, what a huge mistake. When you book directly with BW for the rewards rate and pay for a superior room and what you are given is described as executive the next level down and the front of house are just dismissive it's not a great start. Accepted this double seaview room 114 which If this was indeed executive I would hate to see the standard. Awful smell of vomit down one side of the bed, dip in the floor, water stain on ceiling, windows that don't close properly unless you slam them and still the handles don't go down. Bubble wrap wrapped round shower head possibly to stop a leak??? Shower dangerous as temperature control was poor flits from cool to scalding. Drinks stain on bedside unit that easily wiped away with some water and tissue so obviously no attempt to clean which is worrying with COVID and everything. Tv remote grotty COVID ahhh. People are correct in saying the COVID rules / cleaning is too lax here and didn't feel particularly safe. Even at breakfast the tables were dry wiped after guests left!!! Guests allowed to walk around breakfast area with no masks, staff too not wearing masks although noticed that one did have the sunflower lanyard but the others didn't. Gives the best western a bad name, if this had been the first best western I'd stayed at I certainly wouldn't be stopping at another one.

After a friendly & efficient check in we headed to room 109,good sized room with a huge bay window,the bathroom was huge with room for a party! The room turned out to be clean & comfortable,we slept well & saw some wonderful sunsets over the Irish Sea. The staff were excellent,service & food at breakfast was good. The hotel has a tram & bus stop right outside,although the buses do finish rather early in the evening. We will be back!

The hotel itself looked good and once inside we could see that it had been modernised to a reasonable standard, check in was okay and we given our cards to our rooms on the first floor and a lift was available. The room was very small and had the tiniest ensuite I've never been in but the room next door had a marginally bigger one. The room had a single bed so I didn't get much sleep and when I did get to sleep I was woken up by the shower drainage bubbling away as someone else in the building was draining water from their bathroom as this happened on numerous occasions, my sleep was also disturbed by dogs barking in the hotel. The room also had a roten smell in it probably coming from the ensuite but it wasn't in the room all the time so I had to leave the window open. Breakfast was average with the usual self service continental items available followed by a cooked breakfast with a very small portion of baked beans, again breakfast was spoiled by allowing dogs in the dining room and on 2 mornings 2 dogs were barking and growling at each other spoiling the relaxed breakfast atmosphere. Check out is earlier than most hotels at 10.30am but you can leave your car until midday, I did ask if I could leave it until 1pm but was told I would need to pay so I didn't bother. Would I stay in this hotel again? No, due to the dogs barking in the bedrooms and in the dining room spoiling my holiday experience, also from the other issues I had in my room.

Stayed here for one night and would certainly go back. Booked a sea view room and got exactly that. Room slightly smaller than anticipated but more than adequate. Was on the main road but it was quiet. The room had a window that could open quite a bit which made a refreshing change, so often it's inadequate and noisy air conditioning. Staff were lovely and helpful. It's a very dog friendly hotel with treats and water bowls at reception. Bar prices were amazing. Breakfast was plentiful and good standard. Tram and bus stop right outside hotel.

We have just come home from another great stay, & relaxing. This is our second visit in two days as we booked for the 1st -3nd & we were back on the 5th -7th, The staff a helpful & friendly nothing is to much trouble for them, the rooms were nice enough space for what we wanted & next door to each other, the only down side was the evening menu but we understood way, how things are at the moment , like I said can't wait to go back soon I hope

Possibly my favourite hotel in Blackpool. Had a great 3 night stay for May half term. Car parking is free when booking through Best Western. Good clean rooms, friendly staff, tasty breakfast. Dog friendly.

Stayed three nights with my wife in a double room which you could only get into the double bed from one side as it was next to a wall. The light switch and bedside light was level with the pillow so easy to accidentally switch it on during the night if you moved the pillow. Also banged head when sitting up. The staff were good and hotel was nice and clean in a good location.

Came for the weekend with family including 2 doggies. All the staff were so welcoming and friendly. Breakfast was good as was evening meals. Rooms were clean. Best was how doggie friendly everyone was, Betty was made very welcome on her 1st holiday. Special thankyou to Marc & Chris for looking after our clan so well.

We can not rate our stay highly enough, we had not booked with Best Western before and did not know what to expect. The hotel upon arrival was clean and the staff friendly and welcoming. Due to Booking.com our booking was not apparent but the gentleman sorted it out quickly. We had the ground floor accessible room, which was absolutely perfect, I have mobility issues and the large, wet room was ideal for us. Easy to access, plenty of space and impeccably clean. Upon arrival we had water in the room, biscuits, a high end tv, wifi and the room was comfortable and the bed was of high quality. We ate in the restaurant the last night and the food was hot, excellent quality and served quickly, the team were very friendly and attentive, and we enjoyed our meal. Tea in the afternoon was lovely, sat over looking the sea. We had an amazing stay, it was comfortable, relaxing and we were well looked after, (only little niggle was being in the accessible room, every time someone used the disabled toilet next door by the bar, the hand dryer was very loud and would disturb you) But we wouldn't be put off, it was a great stay and we would definitely return.

Stayed at the Carlton for 2 nights 29-31 May ten of us (6 adults and 4 children) in 2 family rooms and a superior sea view double. (Wow... the sea view double was brilliant and so big) Had a brilliant time at this hotel, great rooms, great service and staff (staff were brilliant even though it was very busy) this hotel has fantastic outside space amongst the best on the sea front. Yes we had fantastic weather which of course helped. The breakfast was adequate cereal, croissants, juices tea/coffee and toast etc as well as the full English. We also had our evening meal there one night which was excellent food was lovely. A big shout out for Johnny who seemed to be there throughout our entire stay, looking after us, serving on etc We will definitely be back

Lovely smart hotel, but we had an executive accessible suite, which was on the ground floor. It was very hot, we switched off the heating, but as it was on the ground floor the windows were locked open. They were on pavement level so people banged them shut in the night as they were at head height, the traffic was very loud so you couldn't hear the tv unless it was turned and the road noise was all through the night. You couldn't have had the windows closed it would have been stifling

Stayed here for a few days , hotel not long been open after covid restrictions. Had a family room on first floor sea view, nice and clean but have to say shower was a real challenge one minute hot then cold not ideal. All staff very friendly including the lovely housekeeper. Nothing was to much trouble and a shout out to Katie . Breakfast was disappointing as no choice just full English ..... Eggs either fryed or scrambled and that's it... sorry but it's easy to poach or boil an egg. We were told only one chef working Sadly will not be returning,

We stayed in the hotel, which was nearly empty, for essential travel. The room was very small and cramped, as was the bathroom, although we did go for the cheapest rate. Great view of the dustbins! Generally it seemed a well run hotel with good staff, and not a bad choice for Blackpool. Decent car park at the front and a good location near the Imperial. Breakfast was ok, nothing to write home about but acceptable. Some quite nice old features to the hotel here and there and it had been well maintained. I might consider staying there again but would be concerned about the size and comfort of the room.

My partner booked a birthday weekend for us in October on Booking.com with covid cover. Due to covid we asked for the date to be changed and this was done and moved to December. In December tiers were changed and we couldn't travel from our lower tier to Blackpool's higher tier so we asked for the date to be changed again, this was refused and a refund was refused meaning we lost out on over £100. I personality wouldn't book anything with this company until things get back to normal. Very disappointed from such a large company

This hotel is a very comfortable, well placed and well kept property. Very clean, professionally run hotel. Excellent position for visiting all what Blackpool and the surrounding areas have to offer. Breakfast and evening meals where excellent. Free (unlike some other hotels nearby) on site parking. Tram stop right in front of hotel.

I booked this hotel with a seaview for 1 night. I didn't expect too much if I'm honest. We arrived very early because we had a busy weekend planned and they allowed us to park the car there early for the day. When we checked in it was a pleasant environment, bright and friendly setting and looked clean. We didn't have the dogs with us but loved the little touch in the doorway of bowls, treats and water for the furry friends. We got to our room (112) and it was lovely. clean and well presented. the carpet at the window was wet and the chairs in the window were pointed into the room. we turned it all around so we could sit and watch the ocean and the lights etc. There were lovely room touches like the dressing gowns and slippers which we didn't expect. I was surprised to see the cardboard take away cups for the rooms tea and coffee in the room especially when the cups can't be recycled with the chunky bottom attached. It didn't vex me too much because we didn't use the tea and coffee facilities. Another nice touch was the bottled water that came in handy through the night because the room was so warm. Breakfast was good, the only negative was that they didn't have us down for breakfast even though we had paid bed and breakfast but this was quickly rectified. Service was with a friendly chat and banter. The cooked offering wasn't great, it was all a bit cold but we had enough of what we wanted. The shower was great. I didn't want to get out of it. On check out we had another busy day ahead so I asked if I could leave my car a few hours and was told there was no problem at all with that. All in all, I will definitely be back. next time with the pooches :-)

Just returned after a couple nights at the best western carlton hotel blackpool stay was excellent staff really friendly room was lovely are big the cleaning was ok but when I pulled the bed out there was a dog biscuit in the corner room 301, had breakfast last morning was really good

I've stayed at this hotel numerous times over the years and never had any problems. Recently, the staff have worked incredibly hard to comply with the strict Civid tier 3 restrictions and succeeded admirably. They are still able to provide clean and comfortable accommodation and a good choice of excellent food. P.S. the cheese board was great.

1st time at the BW Carlton (usually use the purple hotel!) and we're impressed. Just past north pier, away from the crowds, yet only a 10 minute walk to the centre. Friendly Blackpool welcome, from all staff (reception, bar, & breakfast), clean and safe. Great views from family seaview room.

The staff where great through out hotel. Hannah at the desk was so friendly and helpful and was great with the kids. And all the waiter staff in the restaurant. As we stayed during covid i understand why they where not cleaning the rooms but they should have put out a grab and go at the reception for more coffee and tea as we stayed or put enough in each room to last 4 night also more paper cups as once you have used them for 2 days they don't hold the liquid like they should. Also breakfast was good not loads on the plate and only offered scrambled eggs due to covid which is totally understandable. Bedroom furniture a bit worn and kettle in our room needs replaced just constantly boiling and didn't open. Would stay here again

We booked a few days away to celebrate our 35th Wedding Anniversary. We booked an Executive Double sea view room. On arrival we had to wait for the receptionist to finish what she was doing for check in. The first room was so small and not at all what we had expected. We asked for a change of room, the second choice was slightly better but still disappointing. The shower was small and the temperature fluctuated between cold and scalding. We ended up leaning into the shower to wash as the water was too hot to stand inside the shower. The breakfast was adequate in the circumstances. No wonder Jonny gets so many compliments, he never stopped while we were there, We chose the Best Western as we find they are normally of a good standard, sadly this was a let down and would not recommend.

Do not book this hotel - Government raised COVID level in Lancashire, including Blackpool to top tier. Rang to discuss change of booking date, to be told by the manager that they will not make any booking changes and that the government guidelines do not need to be followed. Asked for the manager and told that he was the manager. Asked him his name then he slammed the phone down. Best Western will get no more business from me or anyone I can pass this information onto. £140 for one night, which we cannot take. Poorest customer service ever experienced. When this is all over people will remember the good companies and the bad. The bad will not survive. Hopefully the Carlton will be one of the first to go. Finally, if they ignore government guidelines, hate to think whatever other COVID precautions they have decided don't apply either.

Stayed here a week public areas are nice and well presented. The staff are fantastic Jonny who served most of our meals was very good and friendly well done to him for exceptional service the young blonde girl at reception and also served in the bar was excellent and gave very good standard of service I can see her in a management roll but all the staff were very good. The food was excellent and was of very good quality all in all our stay was very good. But now I am afraid I will come to the issues. The first room we got the drains in the room smelled also the bathroom had mold and the shower head was very old rusty and not clean. We coped with it but we had to complain after the third day as still smelled we promptly got a room move by a nice receptionist. Our next room was slightly nicer but I have to say the smell was not there but a dirty shower head and mold was. I could not bring myself to complain again so got a spray of anti mold and cleaned it myself. It literally took 15 minutes and when finished was shining so this was a disappointment to me that it could not be like this in the first place. I would definitely use the hotel again but would hope more cleaning of bathrooms be undertaken.

If I could give this hotel a minus, I would. This was originally booked for July but because of covid we asked to postpone until October. One nice member of the hotel did this for us.... However due to the ever increasing numbers of covid, I emailed the hotel on numerous occasions and phoned them direct and also phoned customer services to see if they would be kind enough to postpone to a later date. They were having none of it and said they were very much open for business. We paid £427 for 3 people for 2 nights. I know we could have stayed but I did tell them on numerous occasions that 2 of the 3 were nervous about going and I.m a keyworker so wouldn't be happy staying. 2 of the 3 are over 65. I also got an insulting email this morning saying that they hope we enjoyed our stay. I will never ever book Best Western again. What a complete waste of £427. The booking was non refundable/transferable but this was booked ages ago and of course we are in a pandemic!

Breakfast was served too promptly. Obviously not cooked to order. Breaded mushrooms which had not been cooked defrosted properly. Lukewarm vegetables. Not worth the prices charged. First room offered 201was small with broken mirror, which had been hidden behind a stool. My husband noticed there was blood on it too. Having asked if we could be upgraded told no other rooms available. However after pointing out the breakage and how dangerous this was, we were miraculously found another room. Moved to room 212. Much larger and comfortable. However key did not work. Housekeeper checked our key, and was extremely helpful by getting access using her key. She tried ours and it had not been charged propely. We were told to ask Reception to charge it. However when my husband did this the Receptionist refused to believe him, or the room number we were in. Insisting we were in a different room. She eventually did charge the card. On arrival our room was not set up so we could give our room number and charge it. I was asked for my credit card so it could be set up. However this was not done properly. So had to use my credit card every time I made a purchase. Most of the staff were friendly, competent and professional. Most of the staff wore masks.

Great sea views, Covid19 precautions and clean. Shower system antiquated and unable to regulate, even after moving rooms, which we had insist on speaking with a manager, then had same problem, but we thought we'd put up with it. Then on the Last evening several guests making loud noises throughout hotel in several rooms for hours, from 10 pm to 1am staff failed to do anything, so we left the hotel to drive home in severe weather. There was strong suspicion of other guests taking illegal drugs. Hotel management failed to address the situation, hence we left, further to raising as a complaint, have been further dismissive. For a 3 night stay, we spent 2nd morning moving and left a night early ! Breakfast was small but adequate though not Covid19 safe. Bed was nice. Due to the lack of actions on last night wipes away any good points the hotel had.

I'll start with the positives firstly, I wasnt expecting much but I was impressed with my room. It was nicer than I expected, a good size and contained everything you needed. The bathroom was a good size as well and I had a room with a bath and shower so that was a nice bonus. The hotel itself is lovely, it has abit of a Leaky Cauldron vibe to it (Harry Potter reference) as the floors are all up and down and not level as such, steps all over. I went up in the lift to my room but still ended up going up and down various flights of stairs before I made it to my room (which happened to be the next to last room on that floor level). Check in was a little slow due to the amount of people checking in at the same time as me and maintaining social distancing they could only check 1 party in at a time at the desk, which is understandable. When I got to the desk I was greeted by a friendly team member who apologised for my wait so that was a nice touch. The only negative I had was down to other guests and their lack of following rules surrounding covid restrictions and that then fell onto the hotel as a responsibility to fellow guests not 'policing' it. I didn't real safe staying at the hotel and I've since stayed in another Best Western hotel throughout the pandemic and I felt extremely safe and well cared for in that hotel so it's not me being me. This was a huge disappointment in my eyes for this hotel which was a shame. The other Best Western hotel elsewhere that I stayed in I was extremely impressed with the changes they had put in place for covid and it surprised me that this hotel was so different.

The hotel were great, asked for a upgrade and they were able to give me one. Would like to give special mention to Johny who worked in bar and restaurant, who made our 4 days great. The banter was just what we needed.

I stayed in this hotel a few years back for a couple of nights and had a good stay. The room was a great size and comfortable. So it was a deciding factor booking again this year. Sadly this year I was placed in a small room at the back of the hotel overlooking the bins and rubbish area. Wasn't the nicest view out the window for my partner who has never visited Blackpool before. The staff at the hotel are friendly and the check in was smooth. On the Best Western Website it says there is free parking onsite. This is not the case and you have to pay £5. Check out is at 10:30am which is very early when most of the visitors in Blackpool are out for a night out the night before.

Visiting with friends, we each paid £140 for one night's bed and breakfast in what was described as an 'Executive Room'. I can see now that I inadvertently looked at the photos of the Executive Rooms for the accessible room before making the booking, but nonetheless, what an enormous disappointment we had. There is no way that the rooms we were given should be described as 'Executive Rooms' and having taken this up with the hotel, they actually agree (apparently it is Best Western who insist on the term) and confirm that the room is simply a 'sea view'. Even so, our friends on the 2nd floor had such a tiny window that the sea view was disappointing to say the least. The rooms were tired and in need of refurbs, particularly if they are to be described as 'executive rooms'. The carpets in the room were dirty and marked, the mirrors and tiles in both rooms had cracks, the sink would not empty properly, the bathroom had black marks in the grout, the cups were cardboard and I was told we could not have proper cups/mugs because disposable ones must be provided in rooms. What should have been a 'treat' for us unfortunately was simply a massive disappointment. The breakfast was ok, though no choice was available. I asked for a spoon for the yoghurt and was brought a dessert spoon, which was far too big. There were 2 x tables for 4 near the window taken by single men, surely common sense dictates that they should not take up a table for 4. One of the men was extremely rude and aggressive to us, saying we would give him Covid. We were genuinely shocked to see someone had taken a dog into the restaurant (not a Guide Dog) and some people were in the restaurant in their pyjamas ... not sure why this is considered appropriate. I was told that the prices are reasonable as it is 'peak season', but we all feel we were charged 'luxury' prices for a basic room in a budget hotel. It is the most I've ever paid for a night in a hotel and we felt so disappointed as we'd booked and paid in good faith for 'executive rooms', but the rooms left so much to be desired and the hotel did not live up to expectations. Some positives: - the staff were friendly and helpful, particularly Chris on Reception. - the location is very good - the terrace at the front of the hotel is very pleasant and we were fortunate to have good weather and it was warm enough to sit out on the evening

Location was good, room very nice comfortable ,sea view wonderful near all amenities would use hotel again . Loved the seating outside the room was too warm but it was a hot week could have done with aircon ,only other thing the baths were high to get in and struggle with being disabled.

After the year we have endured it was lovely to get away for a 3 night break. We had a lovely room with a sea view, very clean with fresh towels left outside your room every morning. Due to COVID restrictions your room is secure during your stay but if you require anything all you need to do is ask. I would spend a little extra for a sea view as the rooms at the rear looked a little small. Breakfast was limited, but what was available was good, the staff are extremely hard working so give them a chance they are doing their best under the circumstances. We were lucky as the weather was gorgeous and there is a lovely sunny terrace to enjoy a drink with great views of the coast and illuminations. All in all a very nice stay.

We stayed here for four nights. We booked an executive room with a sea view and breakfast. The room was spotless and had all you need. The staff are lovely and the breakfast was excellent. We had dinner one night and it was okay, not too expensive. If we come back to Blackpool in the future, we wouldn't hesitate to book here again.

We arrived on a very windy and wet afternoon. Signing in at Reception was OK, if a little long winded. Our room had a comfortable bed, deep bath,tea and coffee, good TV and lots of shelves. (Only one drawer.) Breakfast was always good, plenty of choice for cereals juice, yoghurt and you can make your own toast. Cooked breakfasts were always piping hot; mine a veggie. Housekeeping cannot enter your room until you have left - though the lady in the office on the corridor gave us anything we required. Clean towels arrive at night in a Santa-like bag by the door. We had one evening meal - OK. We would return in the future.

Recently refurbished and parking for a fiver a day bang on the front of the promenade 5 mins from the north pier and pubs etc. Ours was a superior double room with sea views . Staff very accommodating everything covid safe . Bar and restaurant very clean and the breakfast was great .

What can I say about this hotel, it was certainly one of the cleanest hotels I've ever stayed in. O.k. The COVID-19 bug is still around, but, as soon as you enter this hotel it's evident that it takes the well being of staff and customers to another level. I booked two twin bedded rooms, both rooms were excellent. Everything you wanted in a hotel room was here. Towels were beautiful, white and soft. Cannot praise everyone, reception, bar staff, waiters etc.excellent. Will certainly stay here again.

Rang the hotel prior to arrival to ensure the room I had booked was top class to accommodate my terminally ill father on our last ever holiday together. I was assured it was everything I needed to make sure he would be happy and comfortable. The room allocated was a tiny box with two beds in with a stained carpet and dirty duvet cover. I complained to the manager explaining the importance of this last ever holiday for my dad and her compassion was totally non existent. I was told that was what I had booked and that was what I had got. In floods of tears, I returned to our little box to tell my dad we had to stay. He is in a wheelchair and the manager and receptionist stood calmly watching me try to hold open heavy doors in gale force winds whilst trying to get his wheelchair through the doors. No assistance offered. Arrived at breakfast only to be told I had obviously misunderstood the booking and we weren't registered for breakfast. If we wanted our bowl of cornflakes it would cost us £17.00 so we trudged into Blackpool and found a lovely little cafe that served us with bacon and sausage cobs with a mug of tea for only £7.00 The TV in the room was faulty, vibrating and buzzing, driving me up the wall. The walk in shower promised in the photographs turned out to be a bath that my disabled dad dad couldn't get into. Even when I had a bath it was only tepid because the hot water ran out. Parked the car up for the two days at a cost of yet another £10. All in all, a tragically awful final holiday for me and my dad. I promised him two nights of luxury and we got two nights in a tired, old crate. Thank you Carlton Hotel for our final memory of hell on earth. Only plus to this establishment was a lovely lady called Dee who I believe was the housekeeper. She was so kind and understanding, helping me with cases, topping up the tea/coffee making facilities and listening to me pour my heart out about why we were here. She was wonderful. A total angel.

Room in hotel small room no phone or bath only could get out of one side of bed other wise it was a nice hotel nice bar area and reception breakfast was good and service was very good had to pay for parking thought it was free you can take dogs to this hotel But did not think they would be allowed in dining room the hotel is over the road from beach and about 15 to 20 minutes walk to tower would I stay again yes with better room was 70 birthday trip

Another very good and comfortable stay at the Carlton , rooms spotlessly clean , very helpfull staff and hotel positioned nicely just outside of centre but easy to walk to all amenities , Staff couldnt be anymore helpfull especially in these trying times ,

Stayed one night to see lights location great and good breakfast but rooms need refurbish especially bathroom With inconsistent water temperature and old shower curtains Staff friendly and efficient and short walk to north pier if just want a place for basic B&B it's ok but without air con decent bathrooms and having tired poor fittings and fixtures not really a first choice especially for families Got potential bar and lobby are ok but badly needs bedroom upgrade

Only stayed for one night, went upto the room to a very warm room, TV didn't work so went to reception who just given me a second key card to the room next door, TV worked but it was like someone opened the freezer, was freezing all night long. Comfy bed though and very clean throughout. I will return

So staying at the Carlton again , being a longer stay this time I thought I'd splash out a bit more and go for the Executive Double room, I was looking forward to checking in , getting to my room, switching on the air con, lock my valuables in the safe , relax in my bathrobe and slippers with a drink from the mini bar . Now back in the reality of the Carlton, I checked in which was seamless, the man on checkout deserves a pay rise or at least some time off, he was there morning , noon and night and always pleasant, a credit to the Carlton On opening my room door, remember my executive room door, the smell of smoke hit me , I opened the window and it remained open until the wind blew it shut. I later discover cigarette ends in the carpet , not what I'd expect in such a establishment. So no air con, safe, mini bar, or even bathrobe and slippers, was also surprised that there would be no housekeeping for the entirety of my stay , Covid 19 was the excuse for this , strange as having stayed in other hotels during the pandemic I'd not come across this before , so as you will have gathered the room was a basic sea view double room with a stained carpet and cigarette ends included free of charge The room was uncomfortable at night as it was warm even with the window open so I purchased a portable fan which helped a little . On reflection this hotel needs to remove the title of Executive from these rooms as they are anything but and it certainly gave me the wrong impression of what I was getting for my hard earned cash, and please give the man on reception a day off .

Overpriced Room that smelled awful. Chef couldn't even cook a microwave meal properly! Pie was inedible due to being burnt to a crisp. Rude restaurant staff that didn't seem bothered by the standard of food. Bringing the standard down for best Western hotels, worst one I've stayed in.

Fabulous location, spacious car park and a 15 minute walk to tower. Nice clean hotel, superior family room was lovely and had the most amazingly comfortable bed!. Being on the front it can be noisy with seagull's and agree with other comments about a warm room. to say we are in a pandemic and the self service is off the standard breakfast was lovely. All in all very happy and would definitely stay again, i've stayed in a lot of Best Westerns around the country and this is a great place to stay in Blackpool, especially with he car park.

We managed to get a car parking space and check in was quick and efficient. Our room was an executive room with a view of the seafront. It was extremely small but was adequate for our 1 night stay. (Not sure what you would do with a suitcase or put your clothes if you were there for a week). The bed was very comfy and we had a good sleep. There was a shower in the bath but you need to be small to fit under it. I'm 5'7” and it was smaller than me! But it did have good water pressure and it was hot which was the main thing. Good location. Short walk to the tower and pier. All the staff we met were polite and friendly, especially the bar tender we got drinks from before bed who also served us breakfast in the morning. We wanted to stay here as opposed to staying in a BB and wasn't disappointed.

Stayed at this property with 2 other friends from Monday 10/8/20. Please be careful if paying for drinks at the Bar as i paid by Card payment and was charged £27.90 for 3 double Gin and Tonics. When i checked what my friends had paid for the same drinks it was £19.95. I went back to the bar to the stocky gentleman with silver hair and glasses who had served me and pointed out he had charged me wrong and could he check the receipt for the drinks that he printed off from my Card payment which he had put in the till, but he refused to check this saying he could not, what a rubbish comment!!! Without causing a scene this was this was reported to Reception about the incident but it fell on deaf ears. SO PLEASE BE AWARE WHEN BUYING DRINKS AND CHECK THE PAYMENT IS CORRECT AS THEY WILL REFUSE TO REFUND YOU OVER THERE ERROR WHEN YOU ARE OVER CHARGED. MYSELF AND FRIENDS WILL NOT BE RETURNING TO THIS HOTEL AGAIN DUE TO TAKING INCORRECT AMOUNT FOR DRINKS AND POOR MANAGEMENT WHO REFUSED TO CHECK THE CARD RECEIPT THEY PRINTED OFF TO RESOLVE THE MATTER.

We stopped over in Blackpool for one night so this was a last minute booking - a big mistake picking this hotel. We were allocated a twin room which was tiny, grotty and with a view of a brick wall. The bathroom was old and dirty, and definitely needs attention. The bathroom radiator was piping hot which is not great when the the temperature outside was 27!! The room was boiling and no fans available. It was an uncomfortable night's sleep. Breakfast was a set English breakfast which was okay. Public areas look presentable, shame about the bedroom. Could not wait to leave!

The location of the hotel is brilliant with ample parking. The room was good value for money and the bed was really comfy. The reception, bar and seating areas are well presented and although we didn't use them they looked to be well kept, modern and with the current COVID situation there is more than plenty hand gel to be used. From our room you could hear practically everything people were saying from the corridor and them walking up and down. People was a tad on the noisy side but that's not the hotels fault. The bathroom was very basic and could do with an update but it wasn't an issue. If you stay on a lower floor you can hear taps/showers running from above but it didn't really disturb us. This didn't bother us but you have to pay for parking at £5. However, if you book directly through best Western themselves then its free. It worked out cheaper for us to book through elsewhere so check both options.

We paid extra for breakfast on top of the price of the room stay, when we arrived in the morning in the dining area there was no one to greet us so we went straight to a table helped ourselves to cereal on display but then couldn't find any cutlery, I then found a member of staff who said he will get some for us as they had to hand it to us. He returned to our table with cutlery and asked if we would like a full English breakfast which we were looking forward to so said yes, we asked if we could have poached eggs and was told no, no choice of eggs due to Covid. He disappeared and literally returned to the table within les than 5 mins and I knew this was how long as my husband had left the same time as him to cook toast and he wasn't back with the toast by the time he arrived back with the breakfast. I looked at the plate I was horrified 1 slice of bacon which was cold and anaemic looking, 2 sausages which were also anaemic and only just cooked, watery scrambled egg which was luke warm, small pot of beans which were thick and glupy and 1 hash brown which was soooo greasy it left yellow oily residue on our plates. We didn't eat this and left the table, collected our things from the room and went to check out, we bought all the above to the attention of the front desk and whilst doing so a older man with grey hair and black shirt on said this was what is on offer due to Covid that is all their chef was allowed to cook, to which I replied it doesn't take much to cook a fresh breakfast he said it is fresh it's in a BanMarie, I said that's not fresh its kept warm!! I informed him I would be complaining to Best Western to which he replied no point they are just a PR company nothing to do with them we are the hotel. Disgusted isnt the word....to use Covid as an excuse is disgusting. I am a nurse and have been working continuously through Covid and have never given the excuse of Covid for sub standard workmanship. There was no oh we are sorry we will offer you a discount etc etc the gentleman behind the front desk was very abrupt, non helpful and defensive and no name tag to make a complaint.

Visited here again recently always a great welcome and communal areas are still very well Maintained and very comfortable and stylish . Our room needed a little attention and in need of a lick of paint but more importantly a deep clean which during covid should be taking place esp now .... window ledge had not been cleaned in a good while Buffett breakfast was off which is understandable but only offered a standard breakfast with no deviation a choice would have been nice although well presented and cooked Overall a good stay rooms need a deep clean

recently we been to this hotel Very disappointed with the service there was no one in the bar. We stood there only one lady was looking after everyone in bar and reception. Next morning the breakfast was not good at all One lady was seating with her dog in restaurant i was not expecting that after paying a huge amount for room Never come back again

The hotel was great, we went before we headed to Scotland and it was very nice. Room was a little small but we didn't mind seeming as though we would be out until we went to sleep! Lounge was good, we had dinner there that was alright. Wasn't much to choose from but it was okay nonetheless. Had drinks at the bar, a tad expensive but I was happy to pay because of the great service. If you do go and have drinks, see if Panajota is there because she is a laugh. Had great conversations with her, such a lovely woman! Would definitely recommend this hotel to people!

After a last minute change of deciding where to go we chose to stay here with a sea view. Arriving to a well kept hotel from the outside and a minders interior. Female receptionist was welcoming and friendly. Our room was large and on first inspection very well kept. Fantastic view and extremely comfy bed. My only little niggle were the little things - shower extremely difficult and temperamental (four switches in all) , one towel was stained and the chair and picture frames were showing wear and tear. Would of loved to stay a second night but they were full. Credit goes to the female receptionist on duty (24/07/2020), excellent location and modern interior. Would recommend and would stay here again

Visited this hotel thinking it was one of the most modern given most of the others appear dated however very disappointing. Not many hand hygiene pumps available and non at all at buffet table where guests were handli g utensils for toast. No organisation. Not allowed to choose what to have on plate at breakfast despite being told we could choose by the receptionist when we checked in. Room nice and spacious however old worn furniture and human hair found down chair cushion which surprised us given the covid pandemic is still active!!! Wont be staying here again.

Check in staff friendly (Chris) left my iPhone charger at home .. Chris lent me one for the night. Room modern and very clean. Waitress for breakfast Panayeta (probs spelt wrong !) very smiley and helpful, great breakfast choice. Aruj (probs spelt wrong !) very friendly and helpful. My 2nd stay would definitely stay again. Sea view next time.

Used for 8 days while working in blackpool on nights so used for sleeping during the daytime, from the minute you walked in the door was greeted with a smile from reception,easy to check in, give room card to 303 twin room over looking the sea ok little on small side with wooden beem over one of the beds, very clean room ok with covid 19 restrictions, was 2 paper cups.but clean bathroom etc so top class cleaning. As i said sleeping daytime so came back to cook breakfast ok again restrictions cause of covid 19, clean towels left outside bedroom always a good sleep was had, plenty of antibacterial hand stations in the hotel for people stopping there.

Have to say for the price payed it was a tad poor First you have to pay for your car to stay there , If your paying £270 for the hotel surely this should of been included Room smelled of dogs The bed pillows smelled of dog had to put cucumber wipes on top to hide the smell Marks all over the carpets probably dog wee or something Couldn't open the window to get fresh air in Shower was so small I kept getting attacked with the shower curtain , couldn't even move in it to wash myself So just stood there and hoped for the best It was lucky I was only there for 2 days as anymore I would of stank The brew facilities were poor just 1 cup for both of us So overall for £270 it was poor

Visited just after lockdown. First impressions very good , ample parking directly at the front . Neatly maintained exterior and very plush as you walk in . Our room on first floor had lovely views over the north shore, much more civilised than the other end . Very nice to be welcomed with a dog too , breakfast was excellent and freshly cooked . Will definitely return and recommend to my doggy friends.

I'll get the negatives out of the way first - first room TV didn't work, given a sea view room next - TV about 50% of TV channels worked in this room but watchable, shower very difficult to control temperature, on last day no hot water at all, finally I was in a single room which was on the very small side. I still had a enjoyable relaxing stay in a good location for the North side of the resort, its has a bus and tram stop across the road and easy walking distance of the North Pier. Clean and well decorated. The staff were really friendly and helpful. Breakfast was buffet style but included all items needed to make a full English. Would definitely think of going again and was good value for money.

My best friend married and decided to hold the Wedding reception here,the hotel has recently been refurbished and really is superb and up to date,my friends stayed here after their Wedding and said the accommodation is top notch,but the most important thing is the customer service its first class,focused and happy pleasant staff and also this is a Dog friendly hotel which made a difference to 3 of the guest.water and treats in the foyer (for the dogs!!) They made my friends Wedding day complete and i think its Steven the deputy manager?and all the staff worked hard to make sure everything ran smooth.

We needed to go to Blackpool for an event and chose to stay at the Carlton. We booked an executive sea view room at a very reasonable price with the BW winter offers. Check in was easy and straight forward. We had a room on the first floor with a huge bay window overlooking the promenade. The room was a decent size and a huge bathroom. The room was clean, but did show small areas where maintenance was needed, but we had everything we needed. We had booked on a b and b basis. On the Sat and Sunday it was a buffet breakfast which was plentiful, on the Monday it was a cook to order which again was perfect. We ate two nights at the hotel too, food was great. The main thing I want to say, is that, in all of the chain hotels I have ever stayed in, I have never felt so welcome as in this hotel, all of the staff we came in contact with were fantastic and nothing was too much trouble, we left feeling like friends. I would like to give a special mention too Steven the duty manager and ‘Mary' on reception, thats not here name, but these two people couldn't do enough for you. Well done, we will be back.

How do you describe brilliant. My wife and I were given a room with a roll in shower. At last somebody who understands what it is like to be disabled. The room was light, airy and spotless. We had a kettle and two complementary bottles of water, one still and the other effervescent along with two complimentary kitkats. The bathroom was amazing it was always warm and had non slip tiles on the floor and an electronically heated towel rail. The sinks were rectangular shaped, suitable the purpose and save water, very clever design. The bed was king size which was so comfortable we had a fabulous nights sleep. In the morning a huge variety of food for breakfast and the staff were fantastic, nothing too much trouble. Try this hotel first.

This was booked for an overnight stay to see the Curtains musical and the car park was free. Nice and clean inside and well decorated for a 3 star hotel. The staff were really friendly and helpful. Had a nice drink at night after the theatre. Very handy for the tram and we got a 24 hour tram ticket so we could use both days. Would definitely think of going again and was great value for money. Breakfast was buffet style that day and very good quality.

I stayed at at the Carlton Hotel Blackpool for 3-months when my house was being refurbished. It was a truly wonderful experience the staff (all of them) were wonderful and made me feel completely welcome and at home. If I had to stay anywhere in Blackpool again it would definitely be at the Best Western Carlton Hotel I can't praise the staff enough, and also so the chef's specials were my favourites but all of the food was lovely too.

Last minute stay extra night in Blackpool so very small basic room (double, no view) however, we love that Best Westerns generally don't just confine you to your room with your dog. There was an uncarpeted area, nice and warm, looking out to the Promenade, the staff were very friendly especially the lady who served us dinner (29/2) and was also around at breakfast, which was a hearty cooked breakfast buffet! Even the dog had a fabulous array of treats on offer. We would happily stay again but book in advance and have a room with a view.

Lovely hotel, great size rooms, smart bar & restaurant, reception area is beautiful, all clean & tidy. However we will never return because of the staff. The old man Carl (Steptoe) was rude and arrogant. When we arrived at 1pm he grunted “no check in til 2pm” then my husband asked where the toilet was he just huffed and pointed the way. After a day out when we returned he looked as us as though we were in his way and were spoiling his peace. He has no customer service skills what so ever. His college (another oldish man) was just as ignorant. When an old couple wanted service at the bar, they waited almost 10 mins then called him. His reply was “yes when I'm ready” appalling service from such a lovely hotel. I wouldn't employ them two if that was my hotel. It's a shame as we would return if it weren't for the staff.

Brilliant friendly efficient staff. Spotlessly clean and well equipped, wifi was excellent too.Only issue was we had an Executive Double room (allegedly) but it was so small that I couldn't lie flat to exercise my back, had to do it out in the corridor (VERY embarrassing)

Room was average, staff were OK, however we were woken up at 9.00 am on Sunday morning by a brass band playing trombones and Tuba's in the bar area which having got in at 5 after after an all day sesh was just awful. Breakfast was rotten, no cutlery, one coffee machine and pretty dire. Then couldnt even get a drink at the bar (soft drinks also) because of the Orchestra who has hired it out for sunday morning trumpet practice.

Great service but room was not worth the money. Rusty metal fixtures in bathroom, dirty grout in shower, room was cold and never really heated up. Large gap under the door and light on in hallway all night

my husband birthday went for a long week end walk in to the reception area lovely and warm with how cold the weather at the moment. went to our room very dark had to put the lights on during the day no heating on. i went to reception i told the receptionist no heating on she said does not come on till 5 i said that was no good for us so they gave me a oil heater so we left that on. i asked for 4 extra pillows because we suffer with copd etc we were given 2, the staff are lovely the buffett breakfast was excellent but we want be going again due to not properly heated in the bedroomsd

Nice hotel, stayed in Blackpool many a time and finding a spacious clean room isn't the easiest. Unfortunately there are some negatives though, unsure if it was just our specific room, 118. We paid extra for a executive family room which isn't cheap so was extremely disappointed when I had to move furniture and crank my neck just to see the guaranteed sea view which really was a view of the side of the Claremont hotel. Didn't raise this issue with staff as with a small toddler we had set up travel cot and toys and would have been too much hassle to move, just think it's a cheek to charge extra for something you are not offering. Furthermore there was an internal fire door directly outside our room which creaked every-time someone went by (can't be helped I know) but to the extent you felt they were coming in your door. Although we did have the cleaner walk in our room 40mins after checking in without any warning to her embarrassment. Finally staying with a small toddler, it wasn't ideal on second night to be above the bar at night when entertainment goes on to late, but I get that is just personal preference, but staff do ask age of child on booking and the hotel was far from busy. Room 118 certainly doesn't make for a good nights sleep with the above, poor bed and noisy toilet systems. Breakfast was average. Can't comment on bar as didn't use it. Staff were okay, asked on checkout how my stay was, said room wasn't great, staff didn't ask anything further. Frequent visitor to Blackpool but certainly wouldn't be in a rush to book here again, if anything would say it was overpriced, which is a shame considering stayed in best western hotels elsewhere numerous times and rate them highly.

We booked this hotel instead of our usual hotel as it was £100 cheaper for the weekend. Wasn't sure what to expect but let's say that I will certainly be booking again. For a £100 saving, the service, location and quality of breakfast was no different than the more expensive hotel we usually stop in.

Walking at night looking for somewhere to eat and dropped in to the bar. Had one of the best burgers and the lady who served us could not have been more friendly and helpful. Very reasonably priced as well.

room was a bit dated bathroom needs updating very poor room was cold when we arrived heating didnt come on till 5 pm and off at 11pm window was howling with the wind the room did not look like a executive room 216 bed was ok

My mum stayed here for a New years eve 3 night break Dec 2019 with an organised coach excursion company. After requesting a sea view room she was given a small room at the back of the hotel which was in need of good refurbishment. Following this, most of the people that had sea view rooms were only staying one night, meaning empty sea view rooms for 2 nights. It would seem sensible to prioritise the 3 night people rather than those staying for 1 night? On one occasion when at breakfast, she left her table to get an extra piece of toast and on returning to the table she found all her food cleared away with all cutlery and drinks gone, along with her bag. Surely the waitress had seen her bag and realised that someone was still sitting there and that the table was still being used. The singer/DJ for New Years Eve didn't have the big ben chimes or Auld Lang Syne to bring in the new year as apparently he ‘couldn't find them'. He then decided at 12.20 to finish and go home! The bedroom was cold, and on trying to turn the radiator up, the thermostat knob snapped off. The issues were all reported to staff at the time. The hotel does seem a lovely hotel on the website, and Best Western would usually get my vote, but seems that little bit of detail is missing. Shame.

A pleasant stay here. All staff were friendly and chatty. room clean although 3 adults 1 child in 1 small room was a tad cramped. would use the hotel again though and ask for a bigger room. Breakfast was lovely.

We have stayed at this hotel a few times now and find it very convenient, it is always spotlessly clean, the rooms are very spacious, we have always requested a seaview & have always got a seaview, the staff are always pleasant & helpful

stayed 24th to 26th December on b/b/em location of hotel & parking very good, bedroom good size shower excellent! food was good choice christmas day buffet in the evening excellent. managment could of advertised activities on a board at reception as nobody knew what was going on time wise, bar area nice just one problem dog are allowed to stay here which was ok with us we just wish owners would not allow their pets to sit on the furniture which we have to sit on....wet paws on chairs not really nice other than that stay....looking to book 2020 :-}

we had booked into an executive double for the xmas package for 5 days. The first room 113 was so small no drawers 1 foot of hanging space for 5 day stay, we went to reception where after sometime were offered room 115 which was great, the young lady on reception was excellent. There were no notices of what was happening for xmas we had to keep asking at reception, Food was very good but you had to wait for it as there were only 2 staff 1 a trainee who hadnt got a clue. Bar staff also did the dining room so in the evening when the entertainment was on we had to keep locating them and they were always in the kitchen. It would have been nice to see some management during our stay wven if ony to hand the glasses of cava at xmas dinner they could have helped the overworked staff too. We have stopped in many best western hotels all over the world but have found this one to be understaffed and no management pressence at any time

Staff very friendly and helpful, great location, great food. Only let down for me was mattress and pillows not the best. Great location for public transport Tram and bus stop rite outside hotel also another good point this hotel has good parking facilities.

Stayed at the Carlton very recently. Had to changed room due to inadequate lighting in the bathroom. The second room was very small for two people and had not clearly been cleaned properly as seen in photo,old toffee paper seen when moved into this room. This had not been removed before and during the stay!

room was good just a problem with hot water in shower but managed coujd do with some coat hooks asweii as in bathroom.the staff were absolutely fantastic overworked we thought they coulnt do enough for you we saw no sign of management to gtreat you it would have been nice for them to have put in an appeaerance and maybe somebody to hel[ elderly guesrs to thier room also lack of information could have been advertised more nobody knew about singer so a lot aeb=nt out ir to bed after dinner i game of bingo which would definately keep young and okd entertained let people know and you need more staff and everthing will pay for itself but get a permanent nar person and a better chefor 2

Any other time I would give a 5* review as we have stayed here before and other locations, but feel they need to do better for a festive day like Christmas Day. Food was very good but needs more festivity with decor and what was offered for the price. Staff were great, nothing was too much trouble. Rooms and bed are very comfortable. Entertainment was very good but again needs more to be happening for this festive day.

Decided to book an overnight stop at this hotel on the way back from the Lake District. Hotel is on the North Shore directly opposite the sea and we booked a sea view room which was very comfortable and large with huge bathroom. Only slight criticism was the heating switched off in the evening and as it was winter could have done with being on overnight. We wanted to see the Christmas lights which had been switched on end of November but the council obviously hadn't paid the electric bill as there wasn't a Christmas light on anywhere in the town very poor show. The hotel is being modernised and the reception area looks fabulous with large comfy chairs overlooking the front shore. Staff very friendly. Breakfast lovely and plenty of choice. Will definitely return.

A quickly organised overnight stay in Blackpool to attend a business meeting was enhanced by a great stay at this remarkably nice yet reasonably priced hotel. I'll aim to stay there whenever I'm in Blackpool again on business. All of the staff were very polite and helpful, the room was as roomy and clean and tidy as I'd hoped and with good facilities. I arrived just 20 minutes before the kitchen was meant to close but the receptionist informed me straight away and ensured I was able to get a table and a good meal with not a hint of animosity re my late request, quite the opposite which was very welcome after a horrible drive over the Pennines on a wintry night. After a comfortable and warm nights sleep I enjoyed a delicious and plentiful breakfast and decent coffee. Not only will I stay again on business but am hoping to visit soon with my partner for a long weekend.

The weather was really bad wet ,gales, so would expet the heating to work, it didn't the rooms were Baltic. the double glazed windows had gaps and the wind howled in I had to jam toilet roll in the gap. The breakfast was less than average. We have stopped there a lot in the past and have noticed the standard's have steady declined Will need to reassess next time we go to Blackpool

Booked a seaview direct with Best Western but when i got there i was told this was an error. The room i had was on the side so not a good start. The man on reception said it was something to do with the websites listings, but he offered free breakfast to compensate. The car park was free but a bit small. The room was nice and clean and had photos of the Blackpool area. The breakfast was good but only scrambled eggs until the last day when there was a choice. The staff member in the breakfast room was very friendly. I did want some food in the evening but was told it was closed. Tram stop right opposite and 2 mins walk to town so no issues there. It was cheap as off season and when i looked to book for next summer it was 5x the price of where i would normal stay.

Good rooms, good free internet connection, comfortable lounge area, excellent hot buffet breakfast, lovely friendly team, car parking, and a ten minute walk to the main attractions or tam stop right outside. Excellent place to stay if you want a comfortable sea front hotel

I fancied staying an extra night in Blackpool after attending a conference and discovered that there was a glut of hotel accommodation available in the town and rooms seemed to be heavily discounted for the lean winter months. This was certainly the case with Best Western's Carlton Hotel. I was able to turn up and book a single room for under twenty five pounds on the day. The hotel appeared to be freshly refurbished and looked smart inside and out. It featured a stylishly furnished lounge and dining area. My room was immaculate and tastefully decorated, if very compact. The significant niggle was the lack of heating for the first half of the night. It was a very cold winter's day and the radiator was only luke warm. I buried myself under the duvet to get comfortable and later noticed the radiator had become hot and the room temperature reached a reasonable level. Maybe the price I paid didn't cover heating for the full duration of my stay! Apart from that the room was very good value for money and I will certainly consider another stay in the off peak season to take advantage of the very competitive price.

This hotel is antiquated, cold not a pleasant experience. Hot drinks at breakfast and not much choice of cooked foods, simply not satisfying with washing/toiletry facilities tightly arranged. Bedding suited for summer use,

We came here for a night on a very good deal. The room is nice and clean. The only downside is that there are no mains sockets by the bed to plug in my medical equipment (which I need to aid my breathing whilst I sleep). My advice to anyone who needs to charge devices etc is to bring a decent length extension lead.

We as a group that regularly travels to a Blackpool event have struggled to find good accommodation until we found the Carlton (best western). It's is clean, has good facilities, staff are friendly and the rooms are very well appointed.

Room freezing. No drawers. No door on wardrobe. 2 members of staff did try to help but were over ruled by manager. Service for food took over one & a half hours. It's only saving grace was food was delicious

we only stayed for couple nights. The staff were exceptional very friendly helpful I booked a larger room which was on the ground floor no sea view and was on the main road but did not cause any issues as the bathroom was nearest the road. room number was 300. We had breakfast choice was good plenty of it. We had evening meals but did not pre book. Both were good value well worth the cost the puddings were good too. Marc in the restaurant could not do enough to make sure we enjoyed our meals. Car parking was good £5 per night. Would be really nice position to sit out on summer night with a drink as right on sea front.

Poor value for money. The Inclusive dinner option is a rip off and an awful meal (poor selection, cheap ingredients, small portions). Children's menu even worse.Room not cleaned all weekend. Heating did not come on until 6pm, went off later evening, on again about 6 am then off later in the morning. Bar closed all weekend due to licence holder doing a runner. Low staffing levels. The hotel has the potential for a pleasant stay but it was ruined be the failures.

The Hotel was great but the staff made the the visit even better they could not do enough for you thanks I choose the Hotel because of its location to a venue we had booked. I was extremely please with our trip to Blackpool

I stay here in January 2019 and came back in November for a weekend, couldn't fault this hotel for the value , I stayed in a single room which was a little small but was fine for a couple of nights stay, will definitely be staying here again

A nice hotel with excellent sea views. As it's an older building converted for a modern hotel the bathroom was nearly as big as the room. Buffet style breakfast had plenty to choose from. Although the staff were nice the reception desk was looked a bit out of place.

Just come back from a weekend at the Best Western Carlton & really disappointed. Arrived to a nice hotel lobby and bar with friendly staff who checked me in. I had just booked a standard room for 2 nights (but still expensive compared to other hotels, booked it as i thought it would be worth the money how wrong i was). Arrived at an old fashioned room which was absolutely freezing. I don't mean a little cold and you wait for it to warm up, i mean i was wearing a big wooly coat when i went in and it was freezing. Notified reception and requested another room but they were fully booked. So they sent a maintenance guy to check it out said it was fine and it would heat up eventually. Thought nothing of it, so started getting ready to go out. Checked out bathroom...2 little curly pubes on the sink and tiles...nice. Shower controls are worst ive ever seen in hotel, either freezing cold water or water so hot it would take the skin off a potato. If you were an elderly person and it changed to scalding water you could easily slip over and hurt yourself. Woke up the first night at like 3am shivering. I shouldn't be shivering in a hotel i've paid like £70 a night for. Next day i complained to reception and got given a portable heater, which i left on max for hours and hours to finally heat the room up. I've emailed best western about this. Staff were nice though, and lobby and bar fine. Just rooms are very poor.

I am still heartbroken days after leaving this place!Where do I start.....We came away for a 2 day little break due to our toddlers recent diagnosis of adhd and autism. Booked in no problem to an executive room?!this was an additional cost for an executive room,as you can see from the pictures this room was absolutely filthy,there was toothpaste up the mirror,a pink hair bobble on the floor,all of the paint was coming off the walls,the net curtains was mouldy and absolutely filthy and a big stain on the floor that was strategically covered by a footstool!(we didnt notice this stain until the morning when my son was messing about with it) The room smelt of eggs which I presume was the drains. 3.50am in the morning a man and a woman was shouting outside the room and banging doors(this was confirmed by the night doorman) I had enough so waited for the receptionist to come in at 8 and asked for the upcoming nights money back so we could go and stay somewhere else.A woman and the head cleaner came up to the room and I showed them the state of it. Got our money back with no apology not one apology!it was like they was doing me a favour giving me the money back.£117.50 a night is not cheap! We reserved a night at the hampton at the hilton,packed our stuff and couldnt wait to get out of the place. We dropped our bags at the hilton and went back into blackpool town centre. I looked in my bank account and noticed that £50 had been taken from my account by the best western carlton. I rang them up to be told at £50 had been put on hold because of the stain on the carpet that we had made!We did not make this stain we didn't even notice it until the morning which was as I said hidden under a foot stool!we rushed back to the hotel to discuss this matter and was told.....the cleaning team have managed to get the stain out we can release the 50 pounds we were holding!Hold on a minute this stain wasnt made by us!(upon coming home and reading other reviews I now see many many reviews that mention big stains on the carpet,I wonder if these people were charged also) We was told the money would be released immediately,2 hours later I rang the bank who said this would take 24 hours....so now I was down the £117.50 refund and now the £50.I didnt have enough money to pay for the hampton at the hilton and food etc so we had to buy new train tickets and go home! So we got to stay for one night in a disgusting room,being woken up at 3.50am and then be blamed and charged for something that we didnt do! I can honestly say I've never ever been treated so badly by such a big well known name.I will never ever stay at this hotel again(we have stayed here a few times) The cleaners are clearly not doing their jobs properly and passed the buck to us. I am still so upset by all that happened The staff have no customer service skills whatsoever. (I forgot to add we were told they could take £200 for stains left on the carpet and basically we were lucky!!!!WE DID NOT MAKE THE STAIN) Carlo the manager was very friendly when we went back and seemed like a nice man but this doesn't make this acceptable!!!!

When looking to stay in Blackpool you are never really going to find any high end hotels as you would, say, in Manchester for example. But what you can find is a decent hotel that offers something more than your Travel lodges and Premier Inns and is a far cry form the dated B&Bs of the area. The Carlton is one such hotel with friendly, helpful staff, is modern and comfortable with well appointed rooms and extremely comfortable beds. After a long day of walking along the front we decided to dine in the hotel and I must say the food was excellent and we couldn't fault the service. On a personal note I would have found it even better if the lighting had been turned down a bit as it was too bright to be relaxing and the television, with no sound, that no one was watching was turned off. Never quite sure why hotels insist on having these on in a dinning room. We booked the best sea view room the Carlton had to offer though I must confess to feeling it wasn't particularly big for an executive suite, more the size of most Travel Lodge rooms (The room was in fact one big room that had been divided into two smaller ones). The bathroom was fine but could do with a bit of TLC as the veneer around the sink had broken away. The lounge area has wonderful views out to sea and our breakfast there was superb. So, if like me, you are looking for a decent hotel to stay at in Blackpool, away from the crowds, the hen and stag parties and a place to dine in the evening I would thoroughly recommend the Carlton.

The woman on reception in the evening was rude and unhelpful. No explanation why the bar was closed and wouldn't assist me as I had a bad back when I asked for a different firmer bed. I asked how to complain about the bar being closed and was told she was waiting for an email from the manager. Why wasn't the manager on site?

We have just got home from a stay at this hotel! Firstly, I would recommend upgrading to a seafront or side of hotel room! We had a tiny room at the back of the hotel facing a very busy road with noisy traffic, made difficult to have a window open! Room wasn't very clean and carpet very stained! No curtain at bathroom window and although glass frosted, you could still see in from the street when the light was on! Then the heating didn't come on and when I Enquiries the receptionist said they were looking for keys to boiler room and no one had heating! It did eventually come on occasionally! Our room was very poorly decorated and not cosy. Not even a nice blanket etc.. The bar was closed for our entire stay as they had a license issue. We tried to go to the Claremont hotel over the road for a drink but we were turned away as they only accept there own residents! We ended up at the very nice imperial hotel along the road to have a drink. This was very welcoming and cosy. When I Enquiries a second time about heating. Reception laughed and said, your be lucky in this place!! We had a breakfast in there dining room and this was adequate. This is not a hotel you want to spend time in. It is ok for a base only. We will definitely not be going back here again!

Another excellent stay at this lovely hotel. Situated right on the sea front with lovely views from my sea view double room and within walking distance of the shops and North Pier. Plenty of variety at breakfast and not rushed to vacate a table. Tram stop right outside hotel.

We booked this hotel based on the facilities that we were looking for. A little more expensive than other hotels, but, it had the facilities we wanted. Clean and comfortable although very small bathrooms in 2 of the 3 rooms that we booked. Free parking and good breakfast. There was a bar on site, however, on arrival note on the door to say it wasn't available. Checked with reception, they confirmed that the bar would be closed all weekend and they were awaiting feedback from Head Office. We returned to the hotel at approx 715 pm, restaurant wasn't busy, but, when we asked for a table we were told that the restaurant couldn't accommodate us- 6 people. After asking for recommendations for eateries close by- as we had elderly parents and a 2 year old with us, the receptionist did say that he would speak to someone. We were then seated. Staff not particularly friendly nor helpful, other than Marc, who was very pleasant and approachable.

Work booked me a single room for eight nights at this hotel. I was given the key to room 108. It's a small grey box room at the back of the hotel with a small shower, a loo and a hand sink. It smelt of dogs and so did the other two rooms that I was offered, all of similar style and size. I refused to stay here and walked away. The foyer, bar area and restaurant seemed fine as was the lovely lady on reception.

Just stayed at this hotel. I booked an Executive Room after viewing the website. Whilst the room had a sea view it was, in my opinion, very far from an Executive Room. The bathroom has obviously not been Given the Executive treatment ( see photos) the carpet was dirty and covered in what appeared to be pet hairs. I certainly won't stay there again and would advise others not to. I was in room 112. You have been warned

Clean and comfortable reasonably priced hotel, located on north shore. Staff were incredibly helpful and accommodating and really added to the enjoyment of our stay. Our party consisted of my elderly parents, my sister and her 4 year old granddaughter and myself. We had 3 rooms, 2 doubles and a single. Rooms were more than adequate, clean and comfortable. Parking outside the hotel was very welcome as was the tram stop virtually opposite. Food and drinks were reasonably priced and good. Thanks in particular to the lovely waitress in the restaurant, and to Chris on reception.

Have now stayed at this lovely hotel twice in the last 2 months. Chris on reception is very pleasant and nothing was too much trouble at all. We had room 215 on both visits, Double sea view room, extremely clean and lovely fresh bedding and towels . Lovely view of the sea and illuminations. No hassle parking and was given a permit so nothing to pay. The breakfast is very well cooked and fresh and extremely tasty. Evening meals are good too and there is a good selection to choose from. There is a bar area too where you can get drinks and snacks, we didn't use that facility while we were there, but there was always plenty of people using it. Will definitely be returning again next year when work allows and we return to England.

Almost everything good or very good, room up to expectations , food choices adequate, Staff very helpful. perfect location for seeing the illuminations and all Blackpool has to offer. Car parking good.

I had a totaly lousy nights sleep, my bed was by the wall, the other side was next doors bathroom, not pleasant listening to their toilet needs. I decided to eat in the restaurant, the waitress had brought out not what I ordered however I started to eat it only to discover the meat was very dry and rubbery it was as if it was microwaved. I informed the waitress who offered to put it right and give me another meal, sorry I didn't want to take the chance. One night was enough for me, not going to be my choice of stay when I next return to Blackpool

Good hotel situated 10 min walk from Tower. The hotel itself is a bit expensive but would recommend to friends. The room we had for two adults and our 12 year old daughter was ok, the bar in the Hotel is nice, it ran out of beer on draft when I was there, I did get a couple of free bottled beers for this happening but would have preferred the draft but these thing happen. Would like to go back but will wait to get a deal first as I said it is expensive. Only small bit that was annoying was towels were changed but bins were left and I had to ask for extra loo roll but This was not that big a deal.

I booked an executive double room and on check in got a accessible room,the receptionist did try to change it but had no availability an accessible room is not very romantic when on a treat for your wedding anniversary. The outside of this bedroom the road noise is horrendous also it is next door to a communal toilet hand dryer was going all night The bar also lets non residents in which is fine if they had the capacity of staff to cater for this as I found myself always waiting to be served No soap in the on wall soap dispensers probably can't be bothered the can't be bothered attitude ran right through this hotel on our stay The hotel is clean Breakfast good but would of liked a choice of eggs (only scramble available) Would I stay here again Definitely not! I have stayed in many best western hotels this was the worst by far!

Really good stay at the Best Westen Carlton hotel. Will definitely be back. Hotel lovely and clean . Staff really helpful and pleasant receptionist Ajeer really helpful nothing too much trouble. Restaurant pleasant and clean to sit in also very comfortable. The waiter Marc very helpful excellent service. Food good and plentiful. Great bar meals and late night snacks . Enjoyed the whole stay watching the world go by whilst relaxing and will definitely return.

Excellent public areas but the bedrooms upstairs don't match the first impressions downstairs. Lasted about 5 minutes in the first room they gave which was on the back of the building. The window had patched up with black tape which offered no protection from the cold and noise outside, on top of this there was an excessive amount of dust on the high surfaces and engrained in the net on the window, the shower was suffering from mould around the seals and the room was the was barely big enough to turn around in. After a trip to reception we were moved to a room on the top floor overlooking the sea. This room was much larger and cleaner (probably used more over the winter season). The shower was a bit tricky to operate as was very easy to get scalded by. Other than this the bed was comfortable and clean and everything in the room worked as it should. On the flip side breakfast was good quality and there was a reasonable selection of good quality drinks in the bar which were well priced for a hotel and the staff in all areas are an asset to the hotel.

This was my second visit to Blackpool and this time around I chose to stay at the Best Western Hotel on the Promenade as although it was bit more expensive than some privately run establishments nearby I felt my comfort mattered on my stay this time round. On arrival I was greeting by the friendly receptionist who checked me in smoothly without any issues and my room was a very nice and comfortable single room which i stayed in for two nights. Not that it mattered too much but there wasn't much of a view from where I was. The only thing that really let me down was I found the window would not close fully due to some defect and the fact that it was quite high up and me being only 5 ft 5 inches tall had to stand on a chair to reach it. I confess I just assumed that due to some legalities the window could not be closed fully which meant having to sleep in a slightly cold room. It was only at checkout I found out that it was factually a maintenance defect and the gentleman working behind the desk did confirm that to me and apologise. But regardless of this I may more than likely visit Blackpool again and there is a good chance I may stay at this hotel again as it met all of my needs otherwise

Lovely stay in family room, kids channels always handy to have, plenty of towels in bathroom. Breakfast buffet style excellent, nice and spaciously situated when having breakfast. Quiet at night. Able to leave cases when checking out.

We booked here after our initial ‘hotel' turned out to be a substandard rotten hovel-online false advertising at its best!! Thankfully we were more than delighted to have a fresh clean room with running water and no holes in the ceiling for the seagulls to fly in! The hotel is perfectly located on the tram line and suited the needs of two of our group who are elderly. The staff are so nice, incredibly helpful and approachable, customer service at it's best. We'll definitely be returning here when we visit family again and recommend it to anyone wishing to avoid being snared online!

Just returned from the best western Carlton tonight after a 2 night stay. Staff very friendly nothing too much trouble. Hotel spotless clean and warm with clean rooms good bathrooms with fresh towels. Food very good quality small restaurant menu but all good quality nicely cooked and not expensive. Late night snacks available. Good bar area.Would definitely return and recommend to others for blackpool visits.

Two night stay, first night the whole hotel was cold, asked at reception for heating to be turned on was informed by receptionist it only came on at 21:30. Receptionist couldn't be bothered to do anything about it. Went into bar, had a lovely log fire, unfortunately it wansnt lit and the receptionist explained it wasn't his job to do it as he had no training. Spoke to the operations manager Andy the next day, hotel heating went on within 10 minutes and the fire was lit in the bar that night. It is important that managers listen to complaints and act quickly on them, so well done Andy.

Very friendly and very clean hotel, all the staff could not do enough for you, food was all very good, good selection, a very good location for all the attractions with bus and tram stops right outside the hotel

Visited in September with my 78 year old mum , I booked a sea view room as a surprise for her , when we arrived we were given 219 which was a nice room but with no sea view , I went down to the reception and was told none available so I asked the receptionist to speak to the Manager and see what could be offered to me ( I asked for the difference in price back between the rooms) they did offer me a sea view with a double bed which I replied not suitable to sleep with my Mum , Following afternoon we were offered another room but I said we did not want the hassle of moving rooms , I work in the Tourism trade in the Caribbean and I would never let any one leave without issues being solved / ALL they had to do was offer us a bottle of wine or a couple of drinks for the correct room not being given , this might not seem a big deal to some people but when you only see your Mum once a year for a Holiday you want to make it special which I'm sorry Carlton you did NOT , I did follow up with Carlton and got an apology and to let us know when you come again so we can make it up to you !!!! Its a shame as I have stayed at this hotel numerous times and now this has left a sour taste in my mouth and I don't think I will recommend or go again............... Having said that the staff we meet were very friendly / Breakfast very good and a very clean hotel ........Will I be back I don't think so......

Treated as a number not a guest, freezing cold night with no heating hairdryer helped ,overall not a good hotel,maybe typical Blackpool as most have small rooms ,parking good lounge comparable. £70 for a cold box room really hurt us sorry it's no from us,stayed at a Wetherspoons 3 nights last week.brilliant hotel maybe need to up your game

Got a very good deal booking via the Best Western website.  Good location on the prom, easy walking distance from the railway station and North Pier, bus and tram stops right outside the hotel for longer journeys.  Efficient, helpful reception staff.  Room was small and basic, but clean and comfortable.  Buffet breakfast not outstanding, but enough choice and food was hot and reasonable quality.  It depends what you are looking for, not the best hotel we have stayed in, but good by Blackpool standards and excellent value.  No problem recommending.

Booked a stay at this hotel for my birthday. Was very impressed by the staff who went out of their way to be helpful and friendly. From the minute we checked in to the moment we checked out nothing was too much trouble for them.

We stayed at this hotel and found it to be clean bright and well run. All the staff from the manager Carlos through to restaurant check in and bar staff were thoroughly professional friendly and courteous. We had a meal there which was terrific and our room with sea view was perfect. We had a lovely time and will definitely be returning. Thanks and keep up the great work!! I'm a Best Western member which I love. Staff was very nice, I had my dog washer cleaned before we went, was given a family room, well carpet was dirty I didn't want to walk bare feet in this room, not a normal best western look, this room was basic in its design for the price, sorry I was impressed with deck should cost cheaper than it was.

This is one of the best Dog Friendly hotels we have had the pleasure of staying in -ever!!!!!! From the moment we checked in at the friendly and helpful reception, to going into the comfortable and very clean room to having the outstanding breakfast, this hotel just got better and better. The friendly, helpful staff could not have done more to make us and our dog feel welcome and valued. We can't wait for our next visit and will definately stay here again, highly recommended.

We were staying next door and called in for a evening meal on Saturday 14 September we were shown to a table in the restaurant and then waited and waited until eventually a foreign waitress thing greek showed up and just left a menu no price on menu nothing I had to get up to find her and she came over explained the set menu it was like getting blood out of a stone then we had soup starter served in a very abrupt manner though out the meal she forgot to bring cutlery etc and service between courses was very very slow other customers around us were complaing getting up to go for a spoon or to find her she clearly did not want to be there and had very little experience as a waitress so overall a decent meal but spoiled by untrained waiting staff will not be back in a hurry

Stayed here for one night. Would defo recommend. Very clean hotel. Had lovely room with sea view. Did not have food in hotel so couldn't comment on that. Staff very friendly and helpful. Went out of their way to find me some needle and cotton. The only thing I could be a little negative about was the bed wasn't too comfy. All in all lovely stay. Will definitely go there again

After staying in the Executive Doubles at Best Western Morecambe I felt reassured in booking this hotel. Arrival was fine, check in staff pleasant and helpful. Arrived at the room expecting a bay window and seating area as represented in the photos of the room category I had booked for it to be tiny and nowhere to sit and have a drink, watching the world go by. Went to reception to be told that hardly any of the rooms had that, explained that if this was the case then why are they putting the pictures on the website of that. The man was helpful and did allow us to move rooms to a bigger room. (Similar to those shown in the pictures of an executive double and same as the ones in Morecambe) Room fairly simple, as noted in previous reviews, the carpet was dirty. Being familiar with the Best Western brand when staying in one I have not tended to take toiletries as the ones generally provided have done the trick however this was not the case this time, copious bottles of shampoo however no shower gel or condition. Hardly slept due to the bed bring one of the uncomfortable I have ever encountered and that is no exaggeration. So over all massively disappointed and will sadly not be returning. I do have to note though that the communal areas are lovely, the terrace is stunning and all members of staff were friendly (breakfast staff an absolute asset to your team) however the stay it's self was pretty poor. Massive potential for this hotel to meet the mark but unfortunately it misses so massively.

Firstly, the positive. The waiting staff were friendly and polite. We had breakfast 3 consecutive days. The first day I'd give it 2 out of 5, the 2nd and 3rd days I'd give it 4 out of 5. It all depends on how recently the self-service hot food had been replenished. Always a problem with buffet breakfasts, I guess. There was, however, a good choice of cereals and yoghurt. Now for the less than positive! The standard room (number 201) was way below any standard I've experienced before in my several decades of hotel vacations. It was tiny, drab, ill-equipped, badly in need of decorating and with a wonderful view of the back yard and a tyre-fitting workshop! The only one of the three controls on the shower that worked was the on/off one. The temperature of the water was dependant on who else in the hotel was also taking a shower. It ranged from cold to scolding hot. The hotel is proud of its restaurant. However, the menu was more like a pub's. I'll pass no judgement on the quality of my cod with dauphinois potatoes or the size of my companion's steak; instead, I attach some photos.

We have stayed at The Best Western Carlton Hotel quiet a few times over the years, so as we were visiting Blackpool for an overnight stay with our daughter and son in law so we decided to stay at The Carlton Hotel. Considering the hotel has supposedly been refurbushed, I was disappointed. Its clear to see the majority of the budget for the refurb works has been spent on the gr fl reception, bar and dining areas. The rooms that we stayed in ie exec sea view rooms numbers 212 and 213 have just had a quick part makeover. In our room 212, the window double glazed unit was cracked, the top window wouldnt open, the newish lightly coloured carpet (big mistake) had stain marks all over it. The head of housekeeping really needs to be more vigilant as the top of the mirror and the tv and other areas were full of dust. The old antequated bathroom had an awful sour smell in it when the bathroom door had been closed for a couple of hours. The wash basin plug got stuck and the water wouldnt drain. I reported this to one of the house keepers who remarked "has it broken again, it was supposed to of been fixed yesterday " The bathrooms in all the rooms in the hotel need replacing as soon as possible as do the bedroom carpets with more attention to detail. On a positive note, the reception, bar and dining area are really good and the decor is great, the breakfast was very enjoyable too. However more staff required in the bar area as sometimes there was nobody in attendance to serve the customers drinks etc. I would certainly stay again if they do something about the awful stained bedroom carpets and providing the refurb gets completed.

If I had been smaller it would have been fine. As it was, the rooms without views are too small to swing a cat, the others have the infamous "view of the fire escape" and are tiny. Not an experience to repeat.

Refurbished to a modern and colourful pallet. Room was not a bad size and sea view was nice. Carpet a bit stained, I think it was from the tea bags getting to the bin. Bathroom a bit dated but serviceable, shows r over bath and quite a high bath to get in but plenty of hot water. Breakfast was good.very friendly and helpful staff.

We booked a family room with 3 beds. The carpet was extremely dirty and stained. The window was leaking, the bathroom tiles were smashed, the grouting was dirty and part of the ceiling had started to come in. My bedding was ripped in 2 places and the cleaners had left an industrial bottle of acid disinfectant on the dresser (in a family room). When checking in I asked for a second key card for our room. The male staff member looked at me like I'd asked for a bar of gold. I explained that we were 3 adults sharing a room and he reluctantly gave me one but told me we should really stay together for safety! . I will never stay in a best western again.

Nice hotel located on the seafront, downstairs has clearly been recently updated and is modern and clean. Bedrooms need a bit of updating. Breakfast was buffet style plenty of choice and wasn't too busy.

Arrived to be greeted by very friendly, happy, helpful receptionists. Stayed for several nights, very clean, comfortable rooms, no noise from traffic. Had previously stayed at this hotel and was disappointed with restaurant food but menu has been improved and quality of food at breakfast and evening was superb - Along with excellent staff who couldn't do enough for you without being intrusive. Management Team always took time to listen to your comments. Looking forward to returning.

i have stayed at several Best Western over many years.i have always found them to be excellent - not always the cheapest but certainly very good value for money nothing is too much trouble for the staff always there to help

If you think this is a best Western think again absolutely disgusting hotel needs a good hover pre paid my family room to arrive and find a small box room not clean and dusty got my £172 back and left would not recommend this hotel

Stayed here for two nights lovely warm welcome very comfortable stay really nice staff and great location away from the noise of the great pier. Would highly recommend but the staff made it.. Truly amazing staff especially the girl at reception thank you.

Very basic hotel with limited (if any) luxuries. Bathroom had no shelves to place / store toiletries and no soap vase in the shower. Shower water was erratic in temperature. Room was basic with no air conditioning and hence could imagine it to be unbearable during hotter times. Early morning noise (rear room) from bottle clearance and disposal. Would only recommend for a single night stop over (room only) when all else fails.

Where to start. Pre booked meal for 12 at 7 pm . Ordered some drinks. Selected a bottle of Malbec from the list of about 6 red wines. The only red wine they had was Merlot. But it was OK. The white wine bottle was delivered at room temperature, in a wine chiller with 6 ice cubes at the bottom. Two of us ordered the shrimps as a starter, only to be told twenty minutes later that there weren't any. One did without the other ordered a souffle instead. I'm not sure where they got the recipe from, but the last time I saw an object with that consistency, it was in a stew and called a dumpling. When the main course we'd ordered still hadn't arrived at 9 PM we went to the bar and said that this was unacceptable, we were leaving and did not expect to receive a bill. The current manager of the Aspect restaurant, simply said that the kitchen had been busy, but could not tell us why we hadn't been told. When I said that we did not expect a bill her reply was "Did I say I was going to bill you? She showed us the way out, and we all went to the Chinese a few doors along. This is when the whole thing became surreal. One of the party had left her camera at the Aspect. The duty manager of the Hotel had locked it in the safe and refused to return it until the drinks had been paid for. Cue for a call to the police and a stand off. Manger goes to bed without saying. Leaves our 68 year old asthmatic in reception. 4 AM: Two other residents return to the Hotel. They discover what has happened, and go ballistic. They are with a company that odes a LOT of business with tis hotel. They demand that the night porter wakes up the manager, and comes to reception. They are cross. Eventually the manger agrees to write a ‘receipt' for the camera, and a scrap of paper. In a nutshell, the worst experiences I have ever had in any hotel, restaurant, guest house, or café. Utterly utterly disgraceful. This all happened in May, but I've only just calmed down enough not to be rude.

Check in, very easy check in by the lovely professional Reece who I have to say went far beyond what any expectation one would have, more on Reece later. Parking space is free a premium in Blackpool. Rooms were clean and comfortable, however my Elderly mum struggled to reach the towels high on a rail and a high bath with out hand rail she could not get into, later fixed by Reece bless her . In the corridor areas some small steps without a handrail , for elderly folk a must when negotiating steps. Evening meals were lovely, and Mark our host made the night he simply couldn't have done enough to please and made mum feel so special. Mark has obviously good training and was the ultimate professional On our second day we asked Reece on reception if it was possible to change Mums room as she couldn't shower as the bath height was to high for her to enter. Reece pulled all stops and changed Mums room such a highly professional attitude and human touch outstanding . Hotel is situated a few stops away from all the hustle and bustle so a quiet nights sleep guaranteed. Would I stay again yes So a great big thankyou to REECE and MARK without these guys our stay would not have been the same.

Stayed overnight in the Best Western Carlton, room 311 very small, no outlook, they did provide a fan, but room so warm and stuffy, the room needed a good clean, so dusty, bathroom needs updated, black mould on tiles in shower, hotel itself really nice and good situated for trams tops etc, breakfast was nice, but the rooms really need a better clean and perhaps a lick of paint

Both myself and my partner are Best Western Gold Members and always try to use their many fantastic hotels wherever we travel. However we booked the Carlton Blackpool for an overnight stay last Wednesday arriving early evening straight from work in order to take in an evening show and then a matinee the following day.We usually book the Glendower in nearby Lytham St Annes but decided to try the Carlton for a change due to it's ideal location.The reception is a little bit confusing as it is a bit unconventional and did'nt seem to have any signage...however the young lady seemed to be multi tasking by serving a customer in the adjacent bar before coming across and booking us in.I have to say that she was very pleasant and helpful.We paid her the £95.00 which was to include breakfast for two... The executive double room ....number 213 seemed more like a small double compared to others we had stayed but had a sea view and was like all BW rooms...nice decor and very clean.Due to time restraints we had been unable to get a bite to eat all day but noticed whilst having a swift drink in the bar area that they could provide a selection of sandwiches up to 4 am. So after a nice evenings entertainment nearby...we headed back to our hotel and my partner decided to pop downstairs and asked the night porter if we could order two cold sandwiches and duly paid cash for them. After at least 45 minutes and it now being past midnight we were famished and very tired.So my partner again went downstairs to enquire about the food...Now admittedly their had been a small incident where the fire alarm had sounded during this time but their had been no evacuation and this was confirmed by a fireman who was present in the foyer.The night porter then said the food would'nt be much longer .......Now a good half an hour later i was bemused,hungry and tired so got dressed and confronted the night porter as to why the hell it was taking forever for a light supper ? He seemed startled and surprised but suggested it was only because of the fire alarm interruption and that it would'nt be much longer...At this point i'd had enough....i rarely ever complain but my patience was gone...I asked him if their was backlog of orders and he said...no...just ours ?....i demanded he just give me a tenner back which was a bit less than it cost and stormed off to bed leaving a flea in his ear... I'm sure he is a nice guy but he seemed to be working with the handbrake on ! I looked for the usual written information that is usually standard to find out what time breakfast was but their was none.Now it seems the hand held device in a cradle similar to a mobile phone contained this information instead.Not everybody especially the elderly i may suggest will be comfortable with this new technology...as good as it maybe.Foolishly myself and my partner made an assumption when we strolled into the dining area at 9-45 am feeling ravenous ...that we would finally get fed.....Oh no......service finished at 9-30 am !!! Now we were offered the opportunity by the manager to have the chef still cook us a breakfast but i refused on the grounds that in my experience...dragging a chef back into the kitchen through no fault of his own would not have best pleased him...also i have never been that self important...The offer of a refund for breakfast would have been a better resolution...hey ho. The moral of this long winded story is that the old fashioned method of a folder giving the hotel information should still be provided alongside the new system and it is a another lesson learn't...I would still stay at the Carlton however and i can also recommend the Promenade Cafe a few hundred yards up the road for those that find a 9-30 am cut off point after a late night a tad early !

Booked double Room on arrival our Room 312 was Single size fitted with Double bed which could not be accessed from both sides ? Complaint was dealt with immediately and given another room 207,this was larger but would still not accommodate a Double bed with access to both sides.We were then given a third Room with a Double Bed that had access to both sides.My opinion and I am sure that of others is that a Double Room should always have a Bed that can be accessed from both sides irrespective of ones age. Although all Floors are serviced by a Lift access to Rooms require negotiation of a number of small Stairs unless you are adjacent to Lift these Stairs do not have Handrails.Some Rooms also have Stairs to Bathroom again no Handrails. If you have any Mobility issues however slight then I suggest you inquire after a disabled Room Generally Staff were very Helpful and dealt with our Complaint quickly accept that it had to be addressed twice.We are much traveled and have stayed in a large variety of accommodation around the World including previous Beat Western Hotels,this one is by far now at the bottom of our list

Been to Blackpool a few times. First time in this hotel. Will definitely return. Room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast excellent. Staff very helpful. Excellent location and best views of the sunset. Tram stop right at the door.

Nicely furnished hotel, bright and cheery reception and lounge area. Very pleasant staff on reception. Poor bar.service, no one there to serve for at least 5-10 mins. Room very large and well decorated, filthy interior bedroom window and room far too warm during night.

Only stopped two nights but found hotel pleasant if a little dated. Not far from the south pier the location was good with ample parking and free wi-fi in the rooms. Although w didnt take our dog they are welcome at the hotel along with free treats!

Not as wonderful as it looked on their website. Breakfast was o.k. but there seemed to be only one person on duty. No eggs available - you had to ask for them but nobody told us that. The rooms looked rather tired and the bathroom was definitely 1 star.

We arrived at the 11am eventually taken to our room at 2pm not a minute before it was for a disabled person then he informed us that we had booked it I phoned bookings .com who informed me we did not he eventually gave us a room that overlooked the sea not the exact room this room was dirty I went down complained again he wrote the Genral managers email on a card and gave it too me disgusted I emailed the g/m Still no response to this day Also the same chap served us stale sandwiches? Also had more trouble getting him up off the chairs in the lounge area to serve a drink As he was so busy reading the Xmas festivities book for the hotel We left the following morning haven paid for two nights but delighted we were leaving this hotel in the distances of us

Stayed at The Carlton with my brother & sister for a family little holiday. We stayed here last year as well & liked it so much we came back this year. Buffet style breakfast - food was hot & majority of it tasty - all except the scrambled eggs - they were tasteless ! No fried eggs on the buffet table but you could request one - which we did on one morning & the fried eggs were better. Gluten free toast was available & soya milk - so the hotel catered well for allergies The menu had a good variety & the food was very tasty. We only booked bed & breakfast but ate at the hotel 2 out of the 3 nights that we were there as we really enjoyed the food. The waitress was extremely helpful - her name was Panagiota (not sure if I have spelt her name correctly - Greek name ). Panagiota was friendly - made us feel really welcome & was a lovely lady. Carlo Petza (Manager). He was very helpful , polite & friendly. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

After a lovely stay here last year my sister , brother and I chose the Carlton again for a 3 night break. So glad we did.The hotel location is great , tram stop just over the road, the dining area overlooks a veranda where you can see the sea and watch the sunset. Plentry of parking spaces at the front of the hotel.The buffet style breakfast was good. I am coeliac and also dairy intolerant and the friendly staff kindly brought me gluten free toast and lactose free milk every morning.We also dined twice in the evening , delicious food,and again gluten free choices available. The steak and chips were excellent, as was the prawn cocktail. The greek waitress Patagona? sorry if incorrect spelling, was ever so friendly and accommodating. My brother, who is disabled, felt very relaxed in this friendly hotel. When he suffered a fall into a road the hotel manager Mr Petza provided first aid advice and arranged a taxi to the walk in centre, where my brother had stitches in his elbow, We will definately return to the Carlton next time we visit Blackpool

We have just enjoyed two lovely days B&B at this friendly hotel but ate in one evening also. Breakfast was very good wirh the usual buffet choices and dinner was super. Fish pie and steak pie gorgeous. Our room although a bit compact suited our needs. The best thing about this hotel is ts that majority of staff are friendly and helpful. It was great to see that the lovely Greek waitress is still working there and just as smiley ☺. Efharisto for making our holiday even better. Hotel lucky to have you.

Exterior looked fine interior the room extremely dated nowhere to store clothes other than an open recess in the wall with a hanging rail, no where to keep valuables, thermostat on shower kept getting scalding hot had to call maintenance walls had patchy paint in different colours old fashioned carpet and furniture not my idea of a superior double room for the money paid

Location was fantastic, a tram stop and taxis right outside the hotel, the breakfast was very plentiful and hot. Beds are very comfortable, and it's nice and quite away from the hustle and bustle but The north pier is only 2 min down the road to lively bars and the tower if you want the night life . I would definitely recommend this hotel

Very good stay very clean and tidy condition of all areas very well maintained.The food and breakfast was good the only downside was that the receptionist had to double up as barmaid and there was sometimes a wait because she was busy elsewhere.

it has everything you need for a good stay in Blackpool and close to the town where all the attractions are and shows and bars and clubs the main shopping hounds hill is close by just at back of the tower

Last stay here is 2016 of which was not the greatest of stays. But this time wow from checking in which was quick and easy room was what I asked for and needed was spotless breakfast was as good as last time loads to choose from I had a meal here last night which was awesome Staff are so friendly and so helpful well done

best western was the perfect choice for our stay. comfy rooms ,great food and really excellent staff .excellent menu .bar and lounge was very comfortable. i would fully recommend this hotel if visiting blackpool.

This was only an overnight stay, but I would not hesitate to recommend. It's slightly outside the main centre so a nice, quiet area. Staff were friendly and helpful. Our rooms were cold on arrival, but it was quite windy and cold for June and they warmed quickly when radiator turned on. Bathroom however was a little dated. Food in the restaurant was nice and the voucher for a free drink each was appreciated! Overall a good trip and wouldn't hesitate to return

We stopped off for the night very last minute. Great value for money, the lounge area is perfect to have a couple of drinks. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Would definitely return for the night. Excellent nights sleep.

The hotel was clean and room was lovely .Breakfast was fine staff lovely and friendly.well situated in Blackpool. Everything was well presented .The bar area was modern as indeed was the whole hotel .I have had better breakfasts but there was a reasonable choice and everything was of reasonable quality

O my go room was tiny. Seemed like a double bed in a single room Alough was clean and fresh room was at rear of the hotel where all the drunks seemed to pass most of the night shouting bottles being broken or thrown about Not good when your there working and need a sleep I think the fact that they charge you £5 to park when staying in the hotel is a bit off as well. Fair enough if your just using it for parking

Fantastic hotel, we got here at 1pm check in wasn't until 2pm but room was ready,speedy check in. 15minute walk to town center. We stayed in the family room very spacious. Lovely Breakfast plenty of choice. We booked this hotel with booking.com additional £5 for parking. Beds lovely & comfortable, room was nice & warm.

Hotel is 5 minutes in a taxi from the North train station and on the sea front in the north part of Blackpool. We booked 2 rooms, on the 2nd floor (there's a lift and stairs). Kids had a twin room which was reasonable, ok size, on the side of the hotel (roundabout side) and not too noisy. We had the room next door, a double, not very big room, and facing on to the road behind the hotel - noisy as the cars accelerate from the roundabout. If staying at the hotel make sure you can a sea view room! Bed was fine, not many facilities in the room but ok for few days stay, shower good. Everything downstairs we found very good. There's big areas to sit. A bar. A dining room. Breakfast buffet was excellent. We didn't find the staff over friendly but the gentleman taking care of the breakfast room was very nice. 10 minutes walk to the North Pier. Would I stay again? Yes but I'd need a sea front room where it's not too noisy.

The hotel exceeded expectations on arrival. Was greeted well by receptionist and the reception area is welcoming and nicely decorated. Parking on site was good but you do pay an extra five pounds for this. The bar area looked good but neither drank or ate at the hotel. Did glimpse breakfast and the area it was served in looked comfortable and their appeared to be a good selection. My disappointment was in the size of my room. I paid the same price as my friends but as they were a couple they had a much larger room. You could barely move in mine. It did have a double bed and dressing table but that filled the room. The bathroom was functional with all the usual toiletries and shower cap provided. Window in room was tiny but with no view it mattered not. Woke to the sound of glass bottles being disposed of which before 9.a.m on a Sunday was not great and the cleaners chattering loudly outside the room did not lend itself either to a nice Sunday lye in! Despite the room being very tiny and, as I say, this was disappointing as I had paid the same as my friends had, it still had a t.v and the hotel does have wifi

Blackpool birthday night out.. good location. rooms good but investment needed. For me Blackpool is missing a really excellent hotel for location with modern upgraded rooms. A little investment. For me you will be the hotel....

I use hotels all the time for work, currently staying at this one. Last night complained about guests arguing and fighting with each other last night, was told one guest would not be allowed back in, 11.30pm he returned to room and I was subjected to a whole night of complete mayhem, despite staff intervening on 2 occasions nothing was resolved, does not really appear to be any consideration for other guests as they have been allowed to stay again this evening, just simply not good enough from the management, these guests should have been asked to leave immediately. No where near enough staff, reception often left unattended and phone constantly ringing. Some rooms are very small, including mine this week, with a lovely view of the fire escape, bins and staff smoking in the mornings. Unfortunately I have booked again next week and pre paid but after that I will be looking for alternative accommodation in Blackpool or further afield to have a better and quieter stay

Booked last minute and was weary about staying in a 3 star hotel. We have dogs so are limited in choice. I would definitely return, we stayed midweek so a very reasonable rate, sea view, dogs were made very welcome and as booked through best western website no extra charge for the car park. This was a pleasant surprise.

Stayed here recently for one night for work. generally positive experience but unfortunately the shower in room 108 wasn't working which I didn't appreciate till the morning, know one on reception till 8am so too late to resolve. Thought I would get an apologise when I checked out but being told 'we have workmen in every day' seemed to suggest I was making it up.

Recently stayed at the Carlton Best Western Blackpool whilst in the town for a night out, the first thing that struck me as l walked into reception was the cleanleness and the modern decor. The reception staff were speedy, helpfull and extremely courteous, room was excellent with all the facilities and services you would expect, breakfast was excellent and the waitress went above and beyond in ensuring we were being catered for. Plenty of car parking space . I would happily stay again at this hotel .

Booked at the best western because I've always had good experiences in this hotel chain. Staff were very accommodating and kind, the receptionist gave our dog a treat which was nice. All drinks in the bar had 10% off for May time only. The room was.. average. Quite small and overlooking a dirty roof top, side road & a tyre garage. The bathroom tiles all had scum on them, unpolished and dirty towel rack, the plug detached from the chain, shower head was dirty so we didn't use it. The netting on the windows were also black with fag burns in there obviously from previous guests not abiding by the ‘no smoking' policy. All in all, it was OK, nothing special but then it is in Blackpool. Was also a bit gutted because there were only few places that allowed dogs in so we didn't get to do much, luckily the weather was okay.

Stayed at this hotel several times,if booking with an external company there is a £5 charge for the carpark, always ask for sea view if possible otherwise your view can be of a carpark, dogs are allowed but on a couple of occasions we've had to complain as the left there dog barking in the room when they had gone into Blackpool otherwise this hotel is excellent

Love staying here when in Blackpool. It is by far the best place to stay. Great location, fabulous clean modern hotel with good clean comfortable rooms. The staff are lovely and friendly and the bar is great with reasonable price drinks. Breakfast area is nice and open plan with great window seats overlooking the sea. The food is lovely and all freshly cooked food with plenty of choice. Thank you Carlos and team for a perfect stay. 10 outta 10. I would recommend this hotel and look forward to returning next time i visit Blackpool :-D

We needed a hotel for an overnight stay in Blackpool for 3 of us (my wife, my 2 yr old and I). The hotel looked very neat and clean from the outside. This was confirmed when we entered and the lobby smelt like fresh polish and was very tidy. We were booked in very quickly and our room was easy to find. There was enough space for us all. A double bed for us and single bed for the little un. There was a TV, Coffee making facilities along with the en suite bathroom. There was a cupboard to store luggage in and enough room for the toddler to walk about. The room was well lit and had a lovely mural of Blackpool on the wall. If you're looking for a cheerful, comfortable base for a couple of days then you need look no further. I'd definitely stay here again the next time we decide to visit. It's about a 10 minute walk from the train station and Blackpool Tower. Some people might find this a bit of an inconvenience but it wasn't a bother for us. Just something to be aware of if you suffer from mobility issues.

Great location walking distance to the centre for shops and bars, the staff are very professional and helpful. The hotel breakfast was very good with a wide selection and all areas were spotlessly clean.

About 1/2 mile from the North Pier, this was our second stay at Best Western Carlton and it did not disappoint. On the first night, we had a meal in the restaurant and really enjoyed it. It was a great base for exploration with a tram stop just outside and within easy walking distance of the North Pier. We often come to Blackpool for our Wedding Anniversary which is the day before my wife's birthday. Being a YouTube vlogger, the quality of the wi-fi is very important for uploading videos. This hotel has the best of any hotel we've stayed at.

We stayed here on Saturday night and can not fault the place. We arrived early and were greeted by a friendly member of staff who managed to check us in 2 hours early which was a bonus. The room was spotless with a comfy bed will definitely be staying here next time we're in Blackpool.

Ideally situated for the attractions of Blackpool. A good sized room though it needed a tiny bit of TLC with regards to the decor in the bathroom and on the main wall. The breakfast is very good indeed and the staff were very polite. My only issue is that you have to pay extra to park on site, I know that parking spaces in Blackpool are hard to come by however as a paying guest I don't believe you should have to pay extra to do so.

Really enjoyed the trip to this hotel. We were greeted by a nice member of staff who advised us our room was ready and we could check in 2 hours early which was a bonus. The room we stayed in was clean and comfortable with all the amenities you could need. Would highly recommend this hotel if your travelling to Blackpool and will definitely be staying here again.

Stayed recently at Best Western Carlton Blackpool in an Accessible room. On arrival we were very warmly greeted by reception and explained facilities and times for dining with a smile. Good start to our stay. I have stayed in numerous Accessible hotel rooms but must admit this hotel is the most beautiful and the bathroom stunning. It has been thought out well in design and bed superking and very comfortable. Breakfast was good and staff helpful.  I had a drink in bar and found pricing very reasonable and bar is area is lovely with comfortable seating. I would definitely recommend staying here and hotel rate very reasonable for the area and for quality of hotel.

Booked room with sea view. Could only see the sea from the corner of the window. Bathroom door didn't lock. Bed was very poor quality. Very noisy hotel at night and you could hear the people in the room upstairs going to the toilet etc.

Lovely hotel on the seafront with parking. Sea view recommended. Let showers run to regulate water a little. Staff are extremely helpful. Easy walking on a level into town. The room was smart, clean with good WiFi access. There is a lift if needed.

My stay at the Blackpool Best Western hotel was very enjoyable. Staff were very helpful, hotel location was very good in a quieter part of town and the room was clean and comfortable. Excellent value.

Lovely staff on check in, breakfast good and hotel nice! Little improvements could be made but no complaints - as felt they were such little problems there was no need to report. Although we feel if we did need to report anything the staff would be more than happy to accommodate in any way possible.

Handily located a quick 10 minute walk from the Tower, there's plenty of parking plus the team stops outside the door. The staff were excellent, and the room was very pleasant, with a good sea view. A minor grip was a few cracked tiles in the bathroom, plus a shower that needs an instruction manual before you can get in. Had a good night's sleep, and breakfast was OK, save for the scourge of the British hotel, microwaved scrambled eggs. Good hotel, good value.

Good location as we go Ma Kellys and enjoy Funny girls 5 to 10 mins walk to town centre Beach front . Ok if its not raining . Room was ok. Breakfast very nice Evening meals a choice but not a lot . Reception staff very good and pleasant Overall 9 out of 10 :)

We had to book somewhere in Blackpool at the last minute and the choice was pretty endless I've enjoyed Best Western hotels in the past so decided to try here I definitely wasn't disappointed The rooms were clean, comfortable and warm The staff were friendly, courteous and couldn't do enough for you Food was plentiful and tasty Free parking on the prom was a real bonus The location for a short walk into town or to jump onto the tram is yet another plus Thoroughly recommended

We booked this hotel as we wanted to bring our dog. Staff were all very friendly and welcoming. Room was small but clean and warm. Due to inclement weather all weekend spent much of weekend in room. Would stay again but would ask for a slightly bigger room.

This is a lovely hotel, located one tram stop away from the North Pier. It's nice and modern inside and the breakfast was great too. We had an executive twin room with sea view. I think it was overpriced for what we paid. It's clear this had been an old room and the bathroom hadn't been updated. The staff were all very friendly and all in all, I would return.

Stayed here for an Anniversary. Hotel is on the sea front , We booked through Booking .com. We were given a room that was dark , due to the metal flue from the kitchen going up right outside the window . The room also had 3 steps up to the bathroom, which for us was a bit of a no no . Hubby told them this was no good they gave us another room on 1st floor , still at the back . The bed was king size the room was single , so I slept with my legs touching the wall. Asked if they did an upgrade and was told yes for an extra charge , They then gave us a room at the front , big bay window, Lovely view , very clean. But come 5 oclock we had to report the heating had not come on, this we did EVERY day of our stay , they sent someone to fix it and then it would come on, however the boiler ? needed kicking every day . VERY cold at the time .Breakfast was good , and the evening meal was also ok. Although limited at this time ( march) No entertainment at all. Very quiet hotel

My wife and I stopped in this hotel for the night going to see the Hairy Bikers show. Upon arrival we were met by the ever so helpful Andrew, he immediately gave us another room with a better view we already had. Upon asking whether the room had a bath or not he arranged another room with a bath. Fantastic service and he really went out of his way to look after us. Buffet breakfast was really nice too, certainly kept us going for the day. Would definitely stay again.

Comfortable but could do better. The bar is very pleasant and the communal areas pleasant and clean. The first room we were allocated was too small. One side of the bed was against the wall and the room was too small to be classed as a double. After we com we were allocated a much larger room, larger than I would have expected. This was a pleasant room however the toilet seat was poorly fitted. The seat was at an angle on the toilet and neither the seat nor the lid would stay up. This is poor workmanship and the hotel should not have accepted it.

i was in Blackpool again this week, different Hotel on the north of the town. The Hotel is on the sea front about a 10 minute walk from Blackpool Nth Station. Checkin was quick and east, my room was a standard double on the 2nd floor. The room was very clean and tidy, my only negative point was the shower , in that something must have been dropped on the tray can it had cracked the enamel, room temperature was nice. I went to the Resturant for evening meal the selection is adequate and the prices where good for a Hotel, my food order was delivered promptly and the quality and presentation was good. I had a comfortable nights sleep, very quiet. breakfast is a self service buffet, I get the impression the way it was set out Is to deal with big volumes of coach trip holidays in main season, quality and products where nice. I would stay again as its 2 minutes from the tram stop on the sea front.

My friend , dog and I spent two pleasant nights here. We were greeted with a smile upon arrival and booked in quickly,with a treat for the dog. The room was better than expected for a 3 star hotel. spacious ,clean and warm. The bathroom was spotless. All the staff from the house keeping team ,reception and management were friendly,helpful and dog friendly. House keeping were always on the go cleaning .However do not stay here if you are not dog tolerant as accidents can happen. We will definitely be back .

Blackpool, the home of the very cheap hotel, you can get a night at a small hotel from £17, Stupidly i decided i'd choose a chain hotel, just incase anything went wrong, thinking a chain would have good upper managment etc. How wrong i was... Booked a standard double room for one night, cost £39. Didn't realise when we got there that they put us in an executive room, that breakfast had been added, and for this the cost was £101. Only realised this after we'd gone home and noticed the £62 extra charge taken from our account. Contacted best western, was told the hotels are individually run, and to contact the hotel irect, this i did, and they just showed me a form that said i'd booked the £39 room on january the 29th.. which i did, BUT then on Feb the 4th it was changed to the executive sea view room with breakfasts and all that rubbish we didn't want. No mention of who made that change, it certianly was not me. Basically told 'tough crap' but please stay with us again. Not likely.

We arrived early at the hotel on Sunday,10th February so that we could have plenty of time exploring the town. My husband and I were met with a terrible welcome from male on reception. He said sternly, your early, I ignored him and explained the reason why. On our return, we had a drink in the bar and had to wipe the seats before we sat down due to the dog hairs all over the seats. Then two young lads came in off the street ,clothes full of wet sand. And sat on the furniture. The receptionist said she was on her own and couldn't make them leave. Then we were kept awake with noisy gestures at1.30am in the morning. This is the only hotel I didn't feel safe!,

Just a one night stay,everything was fine.freezing cold outside but the room was warm and comfortable.good sized bathroom with nice toiletries.like most seafront hotels in Blackpool it is a bit dated but can't complain as it was very good value.didnt eat in hotel so can't comment.young lady on reception was lovely,very pleasant and welcoming. Adequate parking which costs £5.00 per day.

Blackpool is full of crap hotels. Thankfully this isn't one of them. It's a reasonable budget hotel on the sea front but within walking distance of all the and pubs and clubs. My room was okay if a little on the small side and the bathroom was reasonable. Didn't appreciate the views of the bin area outside my window though I have to say. There is resident parking, though I believe there is a charge of £5 per day (I wasn't driving). The breakfast was good enough and plenty of it and the breakfast room looks over the sea front, although it is a bit of a barn of a place and not very inviting. All in all a good enough hotel to stay in if you're visiting Blackpool and if I'm staying in the town again I'd be happy to stay here.

Cons first - as stated in previous review, room freezing and shower just barely tepid (a nightmare in January). Carpet in room filthy (but that's also down to guests not bothering to wipe their feet I bet - everything else was nice and clean). Breakfast buffet also tepid. Pros - customer service excellent - the booking experience over the phone was friendly and helpful, the welcome very warm, also very obliging over us parking up at the hotel prior to checkin (and after checkout too), and the genuine attempt to address complaints - I didn't mention the carpet (but hope that during next refurb they have the sense to get darker carpets) or the breakfast (it was ok, just not that hot) but re the cold room and shower I advised I would like a partial refund to compensate for this - we came to an agreement as to a reasonable amount of refund and this was done straightaway and very friendly still. I felt valued as a customer, and listened to, and a malfunctioning boiler isn't something you can anticipate, they never sodding break in July do they. Would definitely return just because the staff as so very professional yet still friendly.

I booked a last minute deal at this hotel and when I arrived was pleasantly surprised by how clean and fresh it seemed. I soon realised it was really cold in my room and the bathroom had no heating at all. I slept with a jumper on it got so cold. In the morning I tried to turn on the shower but nothing happened. I tried three times and then gave up and left. When I complained I was told the boiler was working hard because it was a busy weekend. Which isn't good enough. Also the inside lock on the door didn't work. Shame as it had the feel like it could be a really nice place to stay.

Have stayed here 3times now. Nice rooms. Comfortable bed. Fabulous breakfast good quality and buffet too. Staff good. Very friendly. And dog friendly. Would happily recommend to anyone. Close to all amenities and right on the front. Good value too.

I booked the Carlton Hotel for my Mother, sister and brother to spend Christmas together as my sister was over from Portugal and hadn't seen them for a long time and I wanted them to have a great time being “well looked after”. I received a copy of the itinerary - see attached. It looked really comprehensive with mid morning coffe and cake (a favourite for mum), Queens Speech with coffee / cake followed by board games and bingo and festive cream tea along with the Gala meals. It looked great! Unfortunately, the reality fell far short. I should have been worried when we arrived and were told there was no restaurant service for lunch (23rd December) just soup available if we really wanted it! The lovely girl on reception (I think Natalie, apologies if wrong) rang the hotel opposite as they had people eating in their restaurant (we could see them) but they informed her their service was for hotel guests only. We had to get mum in her wheelchair and go out in the wind and rain trying to find somewhere for lunch .... not a great start but ... it got much worse for my family when my husband and I left them for their “luxury hotel Christmas” that I had assured them they were getting. They were given a copy of the Christmas Itinerary ... see attached .... it bore no resemblance to the one that I had been provided with by the manager when booking. The staff did their best but my sister kept me informed daily, as Mum has dementia and I wanted to know all was ok, and there were so many problems. My sister advised that the mid morning coffee/cake was not there on any of the mornings. When they went for lunch on Boxing Day (my sister had looked at the original itinerary in error so they went down at 1pm) they found a single platter with very little left for the guests who had not yet eaten - see attached photo. The hotel was very short staffed with one elderly gentleman valiantly trying to serve at the bar with the receptionist helping out in between her own role as guests were, according to my sister, getting angry and fed up of waiting to be served. My sister said that no manager could be located. The 4 days 23-27 December was not cheap so we expected better! We have, over the years, stayed in other Best Western Hotels and have always found them to be of a high standard. Unfortunately this was not my family's experience in this instance. The moral is don't book Christmas at the Carlton Hotel in BLACKPOOL unless you are a fan of Fawlty Towers.

Absolutely over the moon with how professional and welcoming the staff were on our stay they couldn't do enough for us very nice room and fantastic breakfast highly recommend to stay here will stay again without any worries Thank you

It's the fifth time our group has stayed here, and it's the fifth time we have had a fabulous experience! Nothing too much trouble with friendly, helpful staff. Although under different management, service and consideration for my large party was excellent. Even put on an early full breakfast an hour before time so that our competitors could eat well before dancing all day in the Winter Gardens. Brilliant social gathering spaces to relax in, and a very comfortable bar to celebrate or even enjoy a drink with friends and family. Well done Carlton Best Weston. We will be back next year!

I booked at the BW Carlton Hotel in Blackpool for a two night stay after reading positive reviews. The lady who greeted us at reception told us the hotel was very quiet following a busy Christmas and New Year. The car park was empty. I was charged £10 for 2 nights parking which I wasn't expecting. Not the end of the world but it should be made clearer that parking isn't free. When I walked into the room the first thing I thought was how cold it was. The window wasn't shut properly, the double glazing not very effective. The bathroom up three steps, looked like it hadn't been refurbished since the 70's. The bathtub was chipped and dirty, tiles on the side falling off, a chipboard brown vanity with no space for any toiletries. The vent had so much dust on it as well. Water pressure was poor, it took ages for the bath to fill up. There was mould on the walls and the toilet didn't flush properly. The mattress was hard and very uncomfortable, the sheets so worn they had holes in them.There was a dull noise on and off throughout the night, in the morning I noticed the window was on a roof and what looks like an air vent from the kitchen. Never mind the traffic noise as well.I also noticed the net curtain was extremely dirty. Because it's in an old building the floor shakes every time someone walks by. Also worth mentioning it's on different levels so although there is a lift you might still have steps to your room. My daughter asked me why I had picked such a bad hotel and told me she never wants to go there again. The pictures definitively do not reflect the room we had. Breakfast was ok, a few self serve bits and a full English available to order on the first morning, a buffet on the second. The gentlemen who seated us a served us was very friendly. Breakfast is up to 9.30 which considering this is a holiday resort I think is very early. We have just come from a hotel that served breakfast until 11! The person who cleaned our room left a biscuit for my daughter's teddy which was a kind touch. Shame about the hotel. I will be writing to the manager and add pictures. What I completely fail to understand is why with such low occupancy in early January you would allocate one of what I hope is the worse room in the hotel- unless most are like this. Surely it makes much more commercial sense to allocate the best rooms first, leave the not refurbished ones for when the hotel is full. I wondered if they “resent” people who book with Booking and not directly. I don't know. It just makes no sense as to why we were given that room. We are often in Blackpool to visit friends so would have gladly used them again if our room had been better. Using a chain like BW I was expecting higher standards. Not luxury but certainly not this either!

stayed one night with my daughter so we could see my parents next door they had to come over to us in the evening so we stayed in the bar area for a few drinks it was very quiet but a nice place very modern decor and spotless, we had breakfast there the next day which was lovely self serve and lots of it couldn't fault this hotel our room was very spacious with a double and a single bed

Was shocked on my return from over 20 years previous, light clean and uber trendy ground floor- lounge and bar area especially. Very welcoming reception staff and exceptional breakfast waitress all on her own . Room clean and bright Will be back Thanks

Stayed overnight for my husbands birthday. stayed here before. Its five pounds to park. the location was very handy for what we had planned to do in Blackpool. We booked a seaveiw room which was clean cosy and pleasant. B

on arrival we were given a room far too small for 2 people and no sea view as booked. We complained about the room and they said we had already been upgraded to a bigger one as the original was smaller (no way I said) anyway they gave us another room slightly bigger still no sea view and then they charged us for the car park (not good customer service in my opinon) we had to ask for exta towels and milk as the room was catered only for one person. Apart from that all was well the place was clean and tidy and the staff were very helpful and cheerful. But get it right Charlton Hotel nobody likes hidden charges such as car park charges especially when there is no mention of it on the booking form.

Stayed here now on many occasions and will definitely be returning again good location friendly staff and nice breakfast and a good rate for a 2 night stay nice clean rooms and free car park town centre only a 5 min walk from the hotel

Stayed at Bets Western Carlton Hotel. Check in was quick and smooth, we booked a twin room which ironically was more expensive than a double not sure why. The room was clean and had everything we needed for 1 night. However the bathroom needs updating drastically and there was a terrible fusty smell so either the room hadn't been used for a while or it hadn't been aired properly. On the evening we went to the bar for a dink, the bar maid looked like she didn't want to be there, she wasn't welcoming at all and when we asked for stella she said the barrel needed changing so we had to choose something else. As it was 6.30pm we were the only ones in there I think she should have either checked it earlier or gone and changed it. We only had the 1 drink and left. On the morning we went for breakfast and stood waiting for someone to come to us for about 6 or 7 minutes in the end we went to reception and told them who came and ticked our room number off the list. Breakfast was nice and plentiful, the coffee machine was nice and made a lovely hot drink. Overall it was 1 night and wasn't worth complaining about. It was convenient for what we wanted. Just don't understand why a twin is more expensive than a double, if anything the rooms are smaller

Stayed here for 3 nights. Staff very helpful, stayed in a disabled accessible room. Breakfast was good value for money although ours was included in room rate. A special mention to Dee who went out of her way to make our stay pleasant. Best Western Dee is a credit to you.

We booked a superior king room. What we got was a very cramped foisty bedroom, the traffic noise was awful. I didn't expect to be on the ground floor facing a noisy road opposite quickfit. The room was set out oddly with a waiting room type feel when you first entered. The bathroom weirdly huge and cold with good facilities for the disabled however I did not book the room for this. Not luxurious in anyway. Very disappointed. Wouldn't stay again.

I stayed here for 3 nights in a single room whilst working nearby. The room itself was quite small which is to be expected in a single room, however the cleanliness was unacceptable. The bottom of the shower curtain was black, the bathroom floor was pretty filthy and there was mould growing around the mirror in the bathroom just to mention a few things. There were long black hairs on the bathroom floor which certainly did not belong to me as I have short blonde hair. The bathroom also had a foisty smell. There was a chip in the mug in the room on the inside which was rusting. Finally, I couldn't lock the door from the inside. The bed was clean which I was pleased about. The staff overall were pleasant enough and the breakfast buffet was lovely. Based on cleanliness, I wouldn't return.

We stayed at the Best Western Carlton on Friday night and had booked a superior king size room. Upon arrival we were shown to our room on the ground floor are located on the ground floor. When we entered the room there was a lot of traffic noise, as it was on the ground floor and right next to a road. The bathroom was enormous and perfectly fitted out for people using a wheelchair with complete with wet room and seated shower also has separate lower sink and emergency red pull cord next to the toilet and hand rails. There was also a regular bath with shower over it and alternative sink. The bed was under the window and next to a radiator with very little room between the radiator/window and the bed. The bedside table was half covered by the mattress from the bed and at the foot of the bed the space wasn't really wide enough to walk round without catching your leg on the edge of the bed. As you opened the door to the bedroom you walked into the room which was empty apart from 2 chairs. Ideally the wardrobe from the bedroom and or a dressing table should have been in there as it was wasted space so could have given the bedroom more space either side of the bed. There was no dressing table so putting on makeup was difficult and only way to do it was to stand in the bathroom by the sink, or for better light in the small hallway between the bedroom and bathroom whilst holding a small hand mirror also no spare pillows. I did go to reception to ask about moving to another room mainly because I wouldn't really want a room on the ground floor next to a road. I was told they only had 3 king size rooms which are all located on the ground floor and are suitable for people with a disability. I was then told by the lady that checked us in that she thought I had requested a ground floor room but there were other rooms she could show me. When I asked if they were double or king size she said they were all double or family rooms, I then explained that I had booked a king size and if there were no other king size rooms we would stay in the one we were given. There were not enough staff on in the evening we went to the bar for a drink and waited a while to be served, when we went for a second drink we waited that long we gave up and went elsewhere. The drinks at the bar were limited cost £12 for a can of John Smiths and a double gin & tonic. We were also told that if you were out late you would have to ring the phone at the door to be allowed back in. The breakfast was ok not the most amazing breakfast ive ever had, self service but disappointed that there was only scrambled egg and no other egg choice. Would I stay here again or recommend this hotel to friends? Probably not.

Stayed at the best Western Carlton this week on business. Check in was great straight forward. Hotel was really clean and staff were friendly and helpful, couldn't ask for more. Will definitely stay again.

Lovely hotel with excellent location near to the shops and restaurants . The room was perfect overlooking the boating lake and boasted a four poster bed fit for a king. Breakfast was good quality and plentiful only down side was the communal corridors need refurbishment as the paint and plaster peeling in some areas. The staff friendly and helpful.

Nice hotel with adequate car parking, warm welcome, room was at the back of the hotel, on the small side but clean and value for money, close to the tower and tram stops outside of the hotel, great breakfast

My wife and I stayed here several years ago before we had the children and decided to go back with the kids during half term. The place had been refurbished which was good. Rooms absolutely fine. Bathroom a little unloved but no big dramas. Good and friendly reception service. Good location. Just north of the tower in a quieter area but close enough to walk in ( 15 to 20 minutes) which we did most days to fully appreciate the lights. We'd stay here again.

Really good location. Close to tower. Nice car park. Anna at reception was really helpful. Very clean hotel. Nice and quiet outside. Ideal for a peaceful stay. We visited this hotel when passing by and plan to stay here.

Booked a single room, and got it. For 2 nights o.k. A little out-dated hotel but clean and very helpfull Staff. Also had an evening meal, not too bad. Same good experience as a year ago, when I was there for 2 weeks in a double room with sea-view.

Stayed in the hotel for four nights food was nice and staff very helpful had a few issues with the room but was rectified immediately. Only issue the rooms and en-suite are very tired would need a bit of TLC.

Thought my case was an isolated one back in Aug. regret not £493 taken from my current account twice 2nd one left us penniless and two hundred miles from home. Refund took 5 days and we had to cut short our 4 day break. Promised £256 refund because of hotels error still not been paid .Opps Mgr Andy blatantly refused and overrode their accounts dept customer satisfaction is low on their agenda and I am still seeking redress.

Just spent thurs friday night at carlton with mum dad and our little westie dog, had a brilliant time , Hotel we found to be immaculatly clean, Andrew and the staff could not be more friendly and acommodating. We were booked into the executive room and in my opinion cant understand why its only rated 3 star stopped in may 4 * in london that aren't a patch on this hotel. Breakfast everything that you expect and more. Look forward to stopping there again and this being our first trip using Best Western will look out for the brand in other places many thanks karen Sheffield
