Best Western of Alexandria Inn & Suites & Conference Center

Made reservation for an atrium room but got a room down the hall completely out of view with a widow facing a brick wall.In this huge place there was only one working ice machine. This was the case months ago during our last stay and we were told they were being repaired. Fitness center had no working equipment or TV The breakfast was wonderful during past stays but upon arrival we were informed of reduced hours on the weekend and no more omelet bar. the water in the shower blasted scalding hot intermittently-no grab bar to aid accessing the tub. Room was missing light bulbs and the phone did not work. Some security doors were not working and others were left propped open with a piece of carpet Weekend staff was disinterested in service. Colton was great on check in,offering us bottled water (the best thing that happened on the entire 5 night stay!) The hotel is undergoing renovation but is understaffed and it shows in the lack of cleanliness and repairs in the public areas.

Room was not clean and is horrible repair. Toilet would not stop running, dresser drawers would not stay closed, stains on chairs bedspreads and mattresses, room smelled strongly of bleach with no evidence of actually being cleaned and still have not received my deposit back.

The rooms are not what you see in the pictures on the website. This is a motel not a hotel for starters. We had no toilet paper the internet was nonexistent. The bed felt like things were crawling on you. The only that looked decent was the pool but we didn't try it as we left shortly after arriving with no type of refund. I can say I'm not fog too be starting here again and now I will be hesitant about booking best western in the future.

We had pet...room first offered smelled bad, badly marked up...second room smelled better with spray i suppose but not clean...gum on bedskirt, nasty things under bed, dead bugs in corner of room...no fruit or yogurt offered breakfast except for some sort of packaged fruit bowl...no acknowledgement as diamond select members...

The bedding was clean and bath towels were nice and soft. Hotel is aged and the upkeep was not very detail. Seems like it lacks cleaning staff. The web pictures were very deceiving. This hotel is huge, and the customers were very limited. The breakfast area was spacious however, there were only two employees tried to provide services. Lack of cleanliness so guests have to clean the table before it can be used.

I booked this hotel on Priceline and found it to be an excellent value. I would stay here again when traveling. We checked in late, and the hotel was safe and well-lit after dark. My impression of other guests were there were a lot of business travelers. The staff at the front desk, including both a long-time employee and a new trainee, were friendly, efficient, and professional. The lobby is well-appointed with a fountain and greenery is the center. Overall, it made an excellent first impression. Our room had exterior access. It was clean and the bed was comfortable. Some negative reviews note that the hotel is older. All I can say to that is they don't make them like they used to. In the morning, over in the atrium, there is a full breakfast served. It is included with the price of your room. It starts at 6 a.m. weekdays and 7 a.m. on weekends. You'll find things like eggs, sausage, chicken patties, biscuits, grits, and gravy there, along with cereal, fruit, freshly-made waffles, and yogurt. There's good, freshly-brewed Community coffee to get you going. The staff member working the breakfast was chipper for the early hour and was friendly with other folks eating the breakfast. That interaction underscored how superb the staff at this hotel was. Excellent customer service was the norm here. I walked around the grounds before leaving that morning and was impressed with the conference center in the back. There is a lot to this hotel. I hope to stay here again when traveling through this area.

Overall stay was ok. My daughter had softball over the weekend so we choose this hotel. Only issue was that we didn't have any towels but there was a facial towel hanging on the rack and it was filthy. Also when I went down the next night to get more towels the worker seemed like she had a problem with giving me some.

This Best Western was the best property that I've ever stayed at. It's clean, the staff is very friendly. Room is clean, beds are comfortable. The breakfast was delicious, a great cook who made omelettes.

You shouldn't have to work very hard if you work here; it isn't that clean, and the front desk needs help. We are not fancy at all!  This was our first and last stay here. We usually stay in Pineville. Visiting my oldest daughter we decided to try somewhere new. Myself and 2 children checked in for 3 days. It took 45 minutes to check in because we checked in behind a family reunion. No issue, just overwhelmed the front desk lady by herself. She was explaining the process and gave them towels for the pool so I asked for towels for the pool when I finally checked in. She said they are at the pool then A man walked in and wanted someone to clean the room he just checked into and said his room was not even touched it was nasty the trash still in there bed not touched. She apologized and said housekeeping had left for the day idk what happened with him.  I got up in the room and it was ok just dirty so used a whole bottle of alcohol I wiped everything with my baby wipes and the wash cloths cleaned the counters they had something sticky looked like sweet and sour sauce maybe and the floor was black on the hand towel I mopped with. I walked to the desk and asked for 3 sets of towels. I explained that I had to use some of the little bit they had in there to clean up so she put me on a list!   I said we are  going to the pool just throw them in the room. There were no towels at the pool. We walked through their wet and freezing. The pool heater is broken. We showered and used the last 3 big towels that were in there. I called for towels the next morning as we were leaving at 10am we got back at 11 pm, no towels. I walk up to the front and ask for towels. We finally got 3 towels at 11 pm our 2nd night. I ended up buying and using unwashed towels while we were there to take a shower the next morning, just in case we didn't get any. I would not stay here again.

Pool was ice cold couldn't even get into the pool, when I made a complaint they stated the heater was broken on the pool, I Initially booked two nights day but after the first incident I checked out the next day should be more awareness of things that's not working before customer end up booking for that length of time that they booked I travel from out of town to spend time with my kid and since they had an indoor pool I want to enjoy my kid company with the indoor pool…!! Very dissatisfied overall

We rented two rooms… they were clean. However, the pictures of the rooms on the website are extremely misleading. We were a bit disappointed in our accommodations. The breakfast was good. The pool area was very nice, but the fitness room was not very functional… the treadmill and bike did not work.

We stayed 1 night so my son could enjoy the pool. Our room was clean and cool when we arrived. The pool area was well taken care of and water was cold! We had breakfast the next morning at the buffet. It was excellent!

I only spent one night here while on a road trip but it was a nice place for the value. The front staff was very pleasant. The room was tidy. They do allow for dogs. The coffee in the morning was good. Location is close to restaurants and bars. Continental breakfast was decient and offered many choices. I would stay here again. Location felt safe

- no shower curtain (could get one in the morning when housekeeping was there.. ) - ran out of eggs (not big deal as I did hear them offer to make to order for someone that asked but not sure if everyone would get the same and I did not have time to wait for made to order food) - issue regarding bill was found after I checked out so had to return to the hotel - I believe this should have been caught during check in or at least prior to completing checkout, which I did in person. Luckily I was still in town for a meeting but when I went to remedy the problem, Shelly at the front desk was rude- did not know how to handle the issue so eventually sent me to another staff after her frustration and defensiveness go the best of her. The other staff (Vee) was pleasant and although we are still trying to resolve the problem I believe Shelly needs more training AND the establishment should be accountable for not noticing missing items at checkin or at least check out There are several other establishments in the immediate area so I will be trying one of them my next business trip.

Breakfast was great- lots of options and great tasting. Hot tub did not work while we were there and we requested an extra pillow and were told we could not be given one which was disappointing for over $100 per night. If you have mobility issues or are handicap make sure you request a lower level room and do not rely on the elevator. There is only one and it can be VERY far from the room leading to lots of walking if you do not want to use stairs.

Stayed here for a Conference. I know the hotel is undergoing a much needed face lift. But the triolet in the room was not clean, need to have more than 3 towels when you have 2 people staying 2 nights. The toilet handle kept sticking causing the toilet to keep running. I am hoping the carpet and beds get upgrades with the remodeling. WIFI was average, breakfast was excellent.

Danny who checked us in very nice. The room had so many problems . Blood on bedding ,Dead bugs in overhead lighting ,No hand soap or shampoo in dispensers. The AC unit falling off wall. Trash under chair cuchion. Door handle falling off door.

Unappealing accommodations but friendly front desk. Poor lighting especially in bath and vanity areas dark old colors and tile in bathroom. Bed was okay for comfort and breakfast was of usual - biscuits were warm and soft!

Was traveling from Dodge City Kansas to New Orleans by motorcycle and booked a room here. The room had never been made up, the clerk was suffering from a lack of personality and could not change the room! I should of taken the tip that was left on the bed but thought the hooker might comeback to retrieve it later. Canceled the room that I could not get a refund on “Thanks Bestwestern” and stayed at the Holiday Inn Express next door… was a great change.. the Holiday Inn Express was very clean and ultra friendly … the broken glass and people smoking cigarettes at the stairwells are not the worst of this hotel. The rooms resemble Petri dishes and culture ovens. #overpricedcrapbucket is an accurate description of this Bestwestern.

Terrible area, nasty carpet, people smoking on all balconies. Vagrants all in parking lot. Nasty burned breakfast. Rude staff. I was afraid to leave my vehicle in the oarking lot. This is a true motel.

Had some issues with suites reserved, but rooms we were moved to were fine, just didn't have the couch we expected to have. Breakfast made up for anything that may have gone wrong. Excellent hot breakfast, eggs and omelettes made to order, pastries, waffles, cereal, fruit cups…the list goes on

Not a comfortable stay other than a great breakfast. The hotel amenities appear to be in disrepair or repaired in a temporary or careless fashion. My room just felt dirty and uncomfortable. Most of the staff were very courteous and helpful, but there is always that one member that should seek employment in another field.

I felt very uncomfortable at this hotel as a female being there by myself. There was clearly a pay by the hour situation going on in a room next to me. The guy at the front desk was also very strange to me. I have never felt this way at a hotel/ motel before. I ended up getting a different hotel and not even staying the night there. The hotel room also smelled horrible.

I travel to Alexandria every week and use to stay at Laquinta in or an Air B & B . . I like the laquinta because they have a hot tub out side but it is usually broken and they have a crappy breakfast. I tried the Best Western which is about the same price and they have a great Pool, hot tub and great hot breakfast. It may be my to-go place from hence forward!

The room was crappy and ran down. The beds was beyond hard. We was booked a suite but upon checking in we was told because was had two small dogs that was could not stay in the suite and switched us to the crap room. My three kids had to try and sleep in a queen bed because we could not have suite with extra pull out bed. There was no body wash in the dispenser and the shampoo was broke barely would come out. The hot water would go in and out while taking shower. I was charged the same amount for the crap two small room as the suite I had booked. The manager was rude and didn't come out her office to talk to us. If every where wasn't already booked we would have left. I have stayed at nicer motel 6 for half the price!!!!!!!!!!!!

The staff was angry since the first time I called because of severe weather delaying my travel. I said on the phone multiple times I would arrive in the morning because my two night stay was non refundable. When I arrived in the morning the women at the front desk told me I never said I would be there in the morning and rolled her eyes at me when I said I did. She also said she talked to her manager and changed my stay to one night instead of two so I would not be charged for the other night but did not tell me this on the phone the day before when I called and did not think it necessary to call me to tell me this. I ended up not being able to check in until after 4 pm. The room was gross and smelt like cigarettes.

Check in took a long time because the worker didn't know how use the system and she could not understand the directions given to her over the phone from her boss. Not a big issue since everyone has a learning curve. She ended up giving us our rooms and told me to come back later when her boss had returned from a pizza run. I was given keys to two rooms in two different buildings though my reservation had asked for rooms to be adjoining or at least close together. I was told they were booked solid. Room 1: The tile floor was sticky and the carpet was damp in places. There was supposed to be a microwave; there wasn't one. There was supposed to be a refrigerator; there was one, but it did not work. When we first entered the room, the heat was turned on. I switched it to AC since the room was very hot. The air vent for the AC/Heater combo was extremely filthy, some holes in it on the right, and appeared to have had mold in it. The room smelled very bad. I would have left at this point but it was late, we had already unloaded, the next Best Western was an hour down the road and I was told that my rooms were non-refundable. The door to the bathroom had paint bubbled in multiple spots. In place of bottles of body wash, shampoo, conditioner, hand soap, there were earth friendly dispensers. None of the dispensers worked. One popped open when I pushed where it said to push – allowing me to view the bottle was full inside the dispenser – but nothing would come out. The bedside alarm - dusty & didn't work. Able to get warm water for showering but freezing cold water would shoot out intermittently during the shower. Room 2: Tiled floor was sticky & carpeted area dirty. In place of bottles of body wash, shampoo, conditioner, hand soap, there were earth friendly dispensers. None of the dispensers worked. Ran water trying to get water warm enough to take a shower – would not get above room temperature – way too cold to take a shower, let alone wash your face. Atrium: While I acknowledge there were signs up everywhere that said, “Pardon our progress, Exciting changes are coming soon”, this was not made known on the website or by front desk -m staff did not notify me to expect damaged/crumbling infrastructure. Mortar was missing in multiple places inside and outside, stones/bricks were missing, and many areas looked in disrepair. Fluid was dripping down into the eating area from the roof. The two of us that shared the bed nearest ac are now sick with sore throat & congest

Housekeeping seems to be the issue here. Our first room wasn't great and the second wasn't much better. All the issues were due to housekeeping as the front desk was super helpful and accommodating. The breakfast was good and the indoor heated pool was nice. While out there with the kids, a staff member brought fresh towels. It is a older hotel and you can tell. They are doing improvements and fixing things. The first room was not cleaned that day and the pullout couch had blood on it. In the second room there was grime on stuff. The bathtub was dirty. There was cheese dip on the bench. The coffee pot was disgusting and couldn't even be used because it was missing pieces. I ended up cleaning things myself. This was the only hotel we could fine with suites and an indoor pool so we sucked it up and stayed for the three days. Housekeeping needs to be replaced.

A very nice place to stay and a great value. The staff is courteous and helpful, the rooms are well appointed, and the breakfast is one of the best Best Western breakfast's we've had! We would definitely stay here again.

It started with checking in and they charged my father three times then it proceeded they checked me into a room that was already occupied by four hunters. Luckily I was honest and reported it and I felt really bad for the people that were in that room that they checked me into just overall it was a horrible experience

My reservation was for 1.14.22. I arrived late, 10:15pm, and was given a key to a room (a suite with a fireplace that I had booked) in the back of the building. We noticed the lighting in and an around the building was dim, many bulbs were out. The facilities were in disrepair, however, it was late and we continued to the room. Upon entering the room, my daughter (14y/o) noted that it appeared that there was someone in the bed, however, it was the pillows and sheets wadded up in the middle under the covers that had not been changed or laundered. The room in the suite with the fireplace had exposed wires, the bathroom was very unclean and unsanitary, a thick scum ring was around the bathtub and there was lots of hair in the sink. The trash can was knocked over with waste on the floor. We locked it back up and I went back to the front desk. The lady there was helpful and apologetic, she offered us another room so we tried again. When I opened the 2nd room the trash can was turned over and the linens were on the floor, the room had not been cleaned. We locked up and took the keys back to the front desk and found alternate lodging down the road. My advise is read the RECENT reviews, it appears that the conditions of the hotel have worsened over time and there were many reviews I should have looked at in 2021, don't go by the overall rating. On the upside, I contacted BW customer service and they were very helpful. They communicated with the hotel general manager, Pat, and we had not been charged for the room following the incident. The representative worked to resolve the issues and was very helpful. Just be aware that the official pictures are misleading and parts of this hotel appear older and are in disrepair. To the hotel management, who I know will read this, please make necessary repairs and pay more attention to cleanliness. We are business owners too, we understand many of the challenges you are facing, however, without changes, your hotel will continue to deteriorate, reviews will continue to worsen, and your business will be a loss. Thank you for hearing our concerns.

We stayed in room 123 on December 18, 2021. It was a pet friendly room. The room was dirty, smelled. We made no contact with the front desk at check in about the condition of the room, which we should have. At check out less than 12 hours later, I had to wait for the employee to finish his cigarette to assist and he did not ask how my stay was, so I volunteered the information that the room was disgusting. He asked if I had called the front desk and I said no. He suggested I call and speak with Creasy, the General Manager. I did so on 12/23 and she said she would investigate and call me back. I respectfully asked at the very least I have my $15.00 pet deposit refunded as there NO way those rooms are cleaned after a dog has been in the room. I have yet to hear back from her as of 12/31.

The hotel staff was friendly and helpful. The room was clean. Finally a hot breakfast!! Hotels lately are doing the grab and go which I don't like. The pool is nice and big and beautiful. My kids enjoyed it. We had a great overall stay.

The staff was kind. Our room was not good. The ac was broken, and the tv had no box. The tv was fixed promptly, but the ac was not. Also, the room was not as clean as I would prefer, and it was a bit outdated.

Tried to get my disabled wife a really comfortable suite for the night after a day's traveling. I was assigned a room in a separate building, a bit down the hall from the nearest entrance, after explaining her mobility issues. I am 76, a disabled vet with my own problems, and a car full of luggage and necessary items. I found that not only were there NO luggage carts, but, that, apparently, no one on staff was interested in assisting me or solving the problem. I demanded and received an immediate refund, a perfunctory "sorry". Found a really nice, inexpensive room, at Holiday Inn Express.

Booked a room to stay for 1 night. Two queen beds. I was traveling with my husband and pet (dog) The desk's chair was in such a horrible condition that it is garbage. The carpet and other sear were stained. The skirt of the beds also stained. The bathtub cracked. There were people drinking outside in the parking just in front of my bedroom. There were also people drinking on the second floor in the hall as it was a bar. Very bad experience.

I witnessed the front desk get sideways with multiple guests. I received the same rude treatment. The whole place was overpriced for the quality of the hotel. You also have to go on a hike to find the complimentary breakfast.

I stayed in the Queen Suite with the fireplace in the Atrium. The room was nice and clean. The carpet needs shampooing from stains. The staff was nice at check in and I had to get extra towels from housekeeping and she was friendly and courteous.

If I could give this hotel a 0 star rating I would. From dirt all over the ac no clean filters, to toenails on the floor. Place is nasty and felt like I got ripped off could of gotten a motel 6 for cheaper and got the same quality.

This hotel is very filthy and not safe for health reasons and a place where lots of addicts were hanging out the smell of marijuana was terrible not a got atmosphere for grandkids that's for sure. Will be reporting hotel to local BBB and fire department so the hotel will closed I'm sure it cannot pass any type of inspection.

While the Alexandria Best Western has been there for years, the maintenance has been kept up, and the house keeping staff does an outstanding job cleaning the rooms. I stay there every time I'm in Alexandria and never had a problem.

I highly recommend this hotel. It is the only place I stay in Alexandria when traveling the area. I highly recommend the Atrium rooms, much quieter than the outside area. They are the best access to the pool area when it is open. Due to COVID the breakfast has suffered to a grab and go, but its the only drawback here.

We walked into the lobby to check in, and the first thing you see is that half of the ceiling is missing. Water damage from February that hadn't been fixed yet.. The room smelled as soon as we walked in. The fan in the bathroom was so loud, it sounded like a 747 trying to take off. There was no breakfast as advertised. You had to ask the front desk if you wanted breakfast, and all they had were apples and oranges. Very, Very disappointed with the whole stay.

Good location to everywhere you would need from pharmacy, grocery store, and restaurants. Staff was polite and attentive. Would stay there again if in the area. Stayed in a suite and had plenty of room for the family.

Clean hotel with an amazing hot shower. Complimentary to go breakfast and coffee in the morning. It was a great overnight stop after a long day of driving. Our room room had a microwave and refrigerator, sofa with bed and a king size bed. Very good hotel for a quick stay.

I understand the pandemic was hard. But you allowed the property to deteriorate to a total state of filth and disrepair. Your staff doesn't care. Their attitude is , “YOU made the reservation, deal with it.” Lobby ceilings falling in from leakage. Really! You accept this and then ask me to review. The door lock on my room was inoperable. The room stank and was buggy. I have been an annual repeat customer for 30 years. Frankly you owe me the $120 for the 6 July stay. I moved to Comfort Inn and Suites on 7 July.

Physically the hotel is in disrepair especially in the hallways and the lobby. Perhaps as a result of a weather related event ? Dresser drawer in room would not stay shut. Multiple key card failures to room. Fitness center closed and no recommendations for other options. Pool supposedly open but unable to open the gate after given 3 keycards. In any event the pool water looked suspect. Front desk staff unfriendly and unhelpful in providing any solutions.

Didn't go in there until the morning but the top foot of the bathroom walls & the ceiling were slicked in black-green mold. rest of the room was clean, a little mildewy smell. the mold though, cant get over how thick the mold was.

We arrived very late for a one night stay that was pre reserved for 5 people, we were given enough towels for 2, then when asked only given enough for 1 more. Also the room had not been cleaned well and there was sprayed cleaner on the cabinet with food seeds and food particles in the sink. When we asked the night guy if they had cleaner so that I could clean it, he looked at his watch and told us we had to take it up withbhousekeeping who was already gone. For $142 for 1 night I expected way more. Very poor customer service.

This hotel was ok for our one night stay, but needs a bit of TLC. First, the good: The room itself was clean. The towels/linens were all clean/fresh and the bed was comfortable. The A/C and wifi both worked well. We were traveling with pets so having a room with an exterior door was nice. . And the areas that need improvement: The grounds of the hotel need some serious cleaning, there were cigarette butts all through the walkways to and on the stairs. Drink cups were also littering the stairs. The middle of the lobby was all blocked off with caution tape and the room we were in had water damage on the ceiling the needed to be addressed. And while still required, not one staff member we encountered wore a mask. . The check in staff member was seemingly unhappy and generally annoyed at everything and everyone he was working with in person and on the phone. . If you are in need of a room with an exterior door, like when traveling with pets; I am guessing you need to call the hotel to make arrangements. There is no way to choose these rooms via the BW Reservation system and the hotel does not bother to look at any comments/special requests you enter in your reservation request. It would be nice if the rooms were marked giving an exterior door option in the Best Western Reservation system. Similar choices are available at other BW hotels, like for choosing Pet Friendly rooms, and we have found it most useful. . While our stay was ok, this would not be a top choice when returning to the area.

this hotel is struggling, trying to recoup from ice storm and pandemic. They were not prepared for our group, known for months we were coming, we are there every 6 months. keycard entry was broken in a frequently used area, and no soap in the public restrooms. Employee were very pleasant.

We almost exclusively stay at Best Western when we travel. I would not recommend this location at all. The bed was made,but the room was not cleaned well. There were red stains all over the carpet and the tub was dirty. I would also like to have known that the rooms were exterior entry. Property overall not kept up well.

Lobby smelled like smoke. Ceiling falling in. Room smelled like smoke. No trash can, no batteries in remote, sticky fingerprints all over TV, ceiling was peeling, ring of filth in toilet, lumpy mattress, vending and ice machines broken. Stay elsewhere. This place was the pits.

This place is a dump. Carpets were filthy. Lobby was hardly usable due to Construction. The toilet didn't work and had to be repaired. The TV had to be fixed during our stay. Best Western should be ashamed of even putting there name on this place. I have stayed at BW many times but have never been to a place in as poor a condition as this.

Stayed 1 hour. Room was dirty, maid left a bag of dirty trash hanging on bathroom doorknob. (Disgusting). During 1 hour our tv, and conditioner broke. Someone called our room, they knew our last name and said our credit card didn't go through after all. Give us a different card. WHAT?? It was someone calling from another room. We think.... it was crazy!!! We got the heck outta there. I was scared to death.

I had a nice stay at the hotel the hotel was big and roomy loved my room had a sitting area in front it was nice. There are several places to eat around. Most everyone was friendly and helpful. I will stay there next time in the area.

Not one positive experience here. Ceilings leaking, no phone or internet service, no carts, Vending machines all broken, rooms smelled molded, Front desk not very helpful. After driving hours dont stay here.

The facility was clean and check in was easy. Pool (due to some damage) hot tub (due to storm damage), breakfast (due to covid), and coffee (ran out) shut down with no warning prior to booking. I was flustered with all of this.

20 rooms reserved for the homeless. No hot water in first room. Refrigerator inoperable in first room. Half of icemakers inoperable. Second room not much better. This is a motel, not a hotel. Be careful

The ice machines were not working. Phone was not working from Friday night, and did not work rest of the weekend. Faucet in bathroom had broke before we left. Others that were assigned rooms for our conference, had no Tv, no lights, one had a water leak, others had different problems in there rooms.

Guaranteed rooms were not available upon arrival. Luckily it was my wife and not myself checking in. An establishment that has men speaking to women with young kids the way the 2 “boys” were Saturday evening (nov 7) at the front desk is not worth visiting.

Out visits to Alexandria is always fun and exceeds our expectations. I've stayed there every time we go to the Wallace Eye Clinick for 28 years! Breakfast is great and always memorable! Great people work there, very friendly and respectable. The breakfast has always had a super choice and variety. We travel 300 miles one way to see the Best Eye Doctors in the USA. MY pets are always welcome. Great place to stay through all of the years!

Had reservations for an entire weekend. Arrived Friday evening to a filthy, stinky room. It was supposed to be a non-smoking double queen room but smoke detector had been ripped out of the ceiling and smelled as if someone had smoked in room for a longgggg time. Even maintenance guy walked in room and said it smelled horrible and that he wouldn't stay in room!! Tub and toilet were both dirty as if room had not been cleaned. Also, several people were obviously living in hotel, personally came across two people that did and seen many others that appeared to....which is no big deal except for some very questionable behavior and activity around a couple of the rooms. Was still willing to just move rooms but front deck stated hotel was booked at 100% capacity. There was no way!!! Parking lot not even half full. Would not give me any other room so had to request refund, which they did do. Was left looking for another hotel on a Friday night for the entire weekend. We stayed here a year ago and hotel was much nicer, cleaner so was very disappointed at the current condition in such short time. I am not a complaining person nor have I ever left a bad review but felt necessary to warn others before they make the mistake of booking here. If I could've given this hotel a zero I would've!! Will never go back to this hotel again!!

This hotel is older but comfortable. Love staying here. Front desk people are very friendly and very helpful. Housekeeping does a very good job of keeping room clean. Management does a very good job of keeping things running smoothly. Will stay here again

The staff is so friendly and willing to help you in anyway to get you whatever they can to make your stay as perfect as they can. The place is really easy to get in an out also whether you have a big truck pulling a huge trailer or just a small car. The parking lot is will lit with lots of light. There are a number of restaurants around the corner. The pool is huge and inside with the hot tub!

my company used this hotel every time when we in alexandria..located in the middel of the city..nice parking, nice rooms..and good customer service..i have ben staying here for the past 2 years when we work here..

The hotel Lobby was nice. The man working the counter didn't greet me at all. He walked in and out of the office area and to the front counter twice before he even acknowledged me. The room itself was clean and nice. My kids enjoyed the indoor pool. The location was a bit sketchy. But all in all it was nice. We only stayed one night.

The whole purpose of this trip was to relax. That being said, when we got arrived there were notes taped on the door about the hot tub not working. Something on the website would have been nice seeing that we don't live in Alexandria.The heavy set black lady at the front desk acted like we interrupted her and rudely and quickly checked us in. Along with the hot tub not working, so wasnt the ice machine on the second floor.There is a upcharged ($20) to have a room near the Atrium, if you're there for the pool. Housekeeping looked skeptical, so we didn't use that service. Breakfast was hot and made to order.it was ok. The room was nice and clean.Checked out with the same black lady.There was no"Good morning" or "How was your stay?". Just a look. Its safe to say that we wont return or recommend this motel to anyone.

This is the best hotel in Alexandria Louisiana, Its exceptionally clean,the staff is very friendly, and they go all out for breakfast. At first I was just going to stay 3 days,but it was so nice I extended my stay an extra 3 days. They have everything in your room you need,and its spotless,plus you can bring your pet. Its conveniently located on main hwy. You have a fresh hot breakfast every morning,plus plenty of hot coffee when you wish,also you have a decent internet and do not have to worry about anyone disturbing you. I had a great stay,and I will defiantly choose this hotel every time I need a hotel.

Excellent from check in to check out. Easy, friendly check-in, room was clean, neat, and well made up. Hot breakfast was very good. Polite made-to-order chefs. Easy highway access. WiFi was very fast.

This hotel has a great staff. Free breakfast. A great chef. Everything was great. Checking in was fast and easy with no complications. Checking out was just as easy. Plenty of space for parking. Walking distance to a restaurant.

Need better billing and up grade rooms. The billing wasn't the same when I arrive to the hotel and the front desk inform me that I owe $5.00 more. The hospitality room that I was staying in living room furniture was stain and dirty. The A.C. wasn't working neither the fan. The refrigerator was running hot. The bath room sink faucet was broken. The kitchen sink faucet was loose.

Killed a bunch, found them in the bed. Room smelled, refrigerator didn't work, toilet hand broken and toilet ran, had to open the nasty back to get it to stop. Needs to be remodeled like other BW's are

We took our kids here for swimming because of the indoor pool. They had a great time. Pool was indoors in a nice atrium. The water was warm and the hot tub was nice. We had a 2 queen bed suite and had plenty of room for our 5 children. The only thing that we didn't like about the room were the sliding doors for the bathroom. It seemed to be a fight to open and close them. The beds were pretty comfortable. The free breakfast buffet was very nice. Someone was there to cook made to order eggs and omelets. They were pretty quick in making them. We would definitely go back. It is great for a place to give the kids something to do during cold or bad weather.

The hotel is very clean the front desk clerk checked me in fast and the breakfast was delicious the bed is super soft and we slept like a baby. We didn't hear a bunch of noise so overall we did get our monies worth.

I paid 120.00 for a dirty musky smelling old room with uncomfortable beds...it was a big disappointment...never again! The picture on the website looked nothing like the actual room. The desk clerk would have given us a discount but I had paid online so he wasnt able to.

It had been years since my wife and I stayed here, but we were both pleasantly surprised. It has been remodeled and the staff they have are top notch. Everyone went out of theyre way to make sure we were taken care of. I like this location becuase it is close to the main streets in Alexandria. Easy to get on the main street and drive to other business for food and such. Plenty of hot water and towels. The rooms are quiet and the complimentary breakfast was outstanding. Depending on what type of room you rent determines how quiet your room will be. They have a indoor pool and the atrium rooms might be slighty noisier due to the children using the pool. Over all i like this place. I also liked the fact that you can walk to get something to eat if so desired. Everyone that works there is very caring and does a great job. Price is a good price for the rooms. Makes me and my wife want to come back more often. Love it.

Stayed 2 nights and the mattresses in the room would do nothing but bounce. No body support and truly worn out. Carpets were stained and bugs on the floor. Pool area was nice and hot tub was functional. Pool area carpet was old, dated and stained. Smelled of mold and musty. Will not be back to this location. Saving grace was the cook to order breakfast but that is all. Even the sausage on both days was burned and hard as a rock. Sad because pictures do not show how dated this location is.

The room was clean and access was inside the atrium area. Internet was fast and bed was firm and comfortable. Enjoyed dispensers in shower/sink area for soap. I felt safe and it was overall an enjoyable stay.

Room was comfortable. Loved the fireplace. Shower was hot. I've been coming here for years and have always received great service. The beds are also extremely comfortable. The complimentary breakfast is good with hot choices.

No hot water, bugs & other debris on carpet, obviously vacuuming had not been done. Exterior door (under the portico) was jammed and wouldn't open with keycard. Wifi was intermittent. Don't waste your time here.. Cooked to order eggs at breakfast don't make up for the downsides.

The rooms smelled of mold and all they did was masked the smell with some sort air freshener. As soon as you walk in the hallway to the rooms the smell is HORRIBLE! WOULD NOT RECOMMEND!! Alexandria, La is not that large so there are other hotels close around!

We absolutely love staying at Best Western . Breakfast is awesome and indoor hot tub , pool and atrium is always a plus. Can't wait to go back.The beds were always comfortable, the staff was amazing. One of our favorite sots. Close to the zoo and restaurants. Just love everything about Best Western.

Great quality room, friendly staff. Beautiful atrium was perfect for socializing with friends who were also in town. Part of the outside of the building was previously a restaurant, and looks rundown, but hotel is great! A couple of issues were noted, but addressed quickly. Sofa beds were not as clean as they should have been, but the rest of the room was. Pack an air mattress just to be safe if you plan on using sofa bed

First, the bad. The hotel is old, damp, and has a musty smell. It is desperately in need of a renovation and is definitely ‘no frills.' The layout of the property is very confusing. Some rooms open to the parking lot while others open to the interior atrium area. The tile in my room, in the bathroom and sink areas, was sticky. The carpet was in poor shape and shredded where it met the tile. The lighting in the room was dim, so we had to take a lampshade off a lamp to make it brighter. Don't book a room here because there is a free breakfast buffet. It was terrible! There was a cook making custom pancakes, omelets and a few other things. He wasn't wearing gloves. I watched him take a kitchen towel, wipe the sweat off his face and head, and return to cooking without washing his hands or putting on gloves. Gross. The floor in the breakfast area was disgusting and covered with food. The staff did nothing to clean it up until the buffet closed down. The custom pancakes were terrible. How do you ruin pancakes? The cook made me a waffle, and it was thin, hard, and almost burnt. How do you ruin waffles? The pastries were dry. Somehow, the bagels survived the plight of the other food and were pretty good. On Sunday, they brought a waffle maker out in the general area so guests could make their own. But, they didn't have waffle spray out, so the waffles were sticking to the maker and burning. They also offered scrambled eggs (that weren't good), and sausage that was dry and tasteless. There were biscuits and gravy but I didn't try those. It got to the point where I gave up on the hot items and only ate cereal and bagels for the rest of my stay. If you use a cane, walker, or can only walk short distances, don't book a room on the 2nd floor. There is only one elevator and you may have a very long walk to get to your room. We actually had to switch to a room on the 1st floor because someone in our party used a walker. There is no way she could have made it to most of the rooms on the 2nd floor. They only have 1 pool that is located in the atrium. The outdoor pool you see in pictures is no longer there. If your room opens up to the atrium, the noise from the guests may disturb your sleep. On the good side – the shower had hot water. We had plenty of towels and they were a good size. The conference center ballroom was clean, well-lit, nice and had plenty of electrical outlets. The parking and WiFi are free. There was a refrigerator, coffee maker and microwave in our room. I would never stay here unless I was attending an event in the conference center. Even then, I would seriously consider booking another hotel despite the inconvenience.

The staff go above and beyond to accommodate our needs. The hot breakfast is wonderful. We love the inside Atrium and the inside pool and hot tub. The location is great, right off the interstate in a very safe area. The rooms are very clean and the beds are comfortable. Yes, we will be back.

I am here every year for an annual conference. This year they really need to clean & update. Carpet was filthy & there were mildew spots on the ceiling. Had to keep the AC at 65 to minimize the mildew odor & smell of stale cigarettes (it was listed as a non smoking room). Probably, my last stay at this property.

Motel is dated and needs corporate to come in and remodel. Ice machines were not working. The towel rack fell off the wall. The knob on the shower was broken. The shower curtain was torn. The stopper for the sink was not working properly. The dresser drawers kept opening because the floor was not level. That being said, their breakfast is their only redeeming quality.

I stay here on the regular. The service and rooms are usually great. The only problem I had was the room had a wet odor since it was only for 1 night I did not report. Usually when I report something they take care of it but did not feel like moving rooms

Man. The pictures on their site are deceiving. This place is nasty. We had about 10 families staying here for a softball tournament. Most left and went to other hotels due to roaches and just not being clean. I stayed due to having to much stuff to move. There are 2 separate buildings on site. The front part is very outdated and dirty. The back building is updated and the rooms are nicer but there are roaches and gnats in the rooms there also.

Staying here for 1 night. Place is bigger than expected. Indoor pool area was great. Our suite is nice and big. The building may be little outdated but clean and affordable. Family friendly for sure. There is a great Cajun restaurant close by that had good food.

Rooms were clean, fresh and cool. Perfect break for a long 2 day drive. In the morning we had our hot breakfast in a gazebo surrounded by blooming roses and mockingbirds who flew in to say good morning. Pool was perfect. We also loved the take out Chinese that was suggested by the flyer in the room. 490 .

I will never stay again. The room was large which was the only positive. The room smelled musty and mildewey. There was hair all over the bathroom sink, shower,and even the "clean" towels. There was no "high speed internet" as claimed. The bed was so lumpy and squeaky. The worst part though was the noise. Walls paper thin I could hear word for word EVERYTHING in the rooms on either side and down the hall. One of the worst hotels I have ever stayed in.

There are several newer hotels down the street from this one. I stayed here because it's the host hotel for the conference. The outside rooms need updating horribly bad. The heating and cooling system needs updating. I visit this hotel, at this location 2-3 times a year. Not much has changed in 20 years. I have come every year for 20 years.

The staff at this hotel are amazing. They go above and beyond to help everyone out. The lady's at the front desk knew every answer to every question and kept smiles on the guest faces every time i seen them.

Have spent a great deal of time at this property. The current ownership is making efforts to return it to the high standards of the past. Staff is courteous and very responsive. Rooms are newly decorated and very comfortable.

The conference center is very well set up. The staff are extremely helpful and attentive. The rooms are big and accessible to all. The food was catered and everyone enjoyed what was offered. A very friendly atmosphere.

This by far was the worst hotel ever! The sink leaked the lamps were broken the bed felt like it had a hole in the middle of it. And to top it off we went down to get in the hot tub and it smelt like it had urine in it bad the pool was so crowded that you could barely see it had water in it mostly all unsupervised kids and to top all this off the next morning we got up and went down to have coffee while we was waiting on breakfast and we was told we could not get coffee until 7 am when breakfast was served and then the eggs taste like water and the gravy to

Fantastic staff, exceptional breakfast, very clean and spacious rooms, great location, comfortable beds, easy check in, welcoming lobby, and plenty of parking. The pool and hot tub along with the breakfast area are located in an enormous great room inside the hotel with many rooms opening to the interior. Together, these amenities make this hotel the best stay in central Louisiana. Whether I bring the grandchildren or stay alone, I always stay here. The rates are always very competitive and I am always satisfied.

We enjoyed our visit at this hotel, the cook was a surprise. We were able to order our eggs anyway that we wanted, even an omelette. The staff was very friendly and helpful. They have beautiful indoor pool and hot tub and area. It just needs a little updating on the floors and bed sheets.

Pool area was very nice and surprisingly quiet even though my room was facing the indoor pool area. Breakfast was served fresh and made to order including pancakes and omelettes. Our room was clean and well stocked, but could use some updates.

First the good: The hotel is nice, the queen suite room is spacious, front desk clerk was nice, indoor pool was good, beds were not too hard not too soft, plenty of parking, 2 Tv's and breakfast was good. The Bad: walls are paper thin, got woken up at 3am by the couple next door and had to hear a girl moan for 15 mins (use imagination), kids everywhere-running down the halls, screaming at pool, and the kids and parents were having a party until 11:00pm in the pool atrium even though the pool closes at 9pm, people talking next door and you can hear everything, even if you want to sleep in you cannot because at 6:000am people start talking loud and you can hear them, overall the stay was subpar due to lack of sleep and sleep is the reason most people stay at a hotel. I wont stay here again, next time I will stay at another hotel in Alexandria.

There were amazing staff, very friendly and great during check-in/-out. The room we had was very bad lighting no direct ceiling in the bed room or bath room, only lamps and a wall lamp (singular) for the bathtub and shower area. The carpet had quite a few weird stains, near the closet and in the entry way of the bed room.

It was our honeymoon.. the rooms are outdated and somebody upstairs left the water on and it flooded our bathroom. Housekeeping gave me the towels to clean it up but one of the associates passed by and asked what was wrong and the came in and cleaned it up for me

Don't apply to the program call third night free, it is a lie. The receptionist in the lobby told me it takes over a week to be applicable. I won't be able to verify it as I am on my way back from USA.

Exterior entry doors, received a call from someone claiming to be manager wanting personal information, was probably watching our room because they knew our room number. Front desk said this had been happening for 5 years, highly suspect. Gravy was completely disgusting, basically brown water, coffee pot in room was to dirty to use. Waffle maker at breakfast was filthy.

Desk clerk even made arrangements for a possible guest coming in for a family reunion. Great room overlooking the pool and breakfast area. Food preparations were outstanding with a wide variety to choose from each morning and helped get each day off to a good start. Location was close to friends, relatives and other destinations during my trip.

This property is right off the freeway and There are other hotels that you could consider, but For the money and extremely awesome breakfast and not to mention the courtyard/pool area was very nice. With this being a conference facility, there are little things you can do to make sure things are good. One of which is to make sure there are towels in the swimming area before jumping in. If not, just ask, no big deal, they can get pretty busy and towels get used fast. I've read other reviews and honestly I got nervous about coming, but I found out if there was anything I needed, I just asked, and they were more than willing to accommodate. Will defiantly come back..

Arrived at 2:30pm, did not see it was a 4:00pm check in. And 4:00pm is when we got in, it took 4 calls to finally book a room. When the desk says can you please hold, believe me, you are going to hold awhile. We had a group rate, but after 3 calls trying to book, I just booked thru Expidea which was higher, but it worked. Finally the manager called back and rebooked us. Upon our attempted check in I waited in line 30 minutes, just to be told we have no rooms ready come back at 4pm. This should have clued me in to go somewhere else, which they were all to eager to cancel our reservations, I was asked several times do you just want us to cancel you. Will never stay at another Best Western.

We had a very fun and adventurous time this hotel did everything right for me and my family. The indoor pool and jacuzzi was amazing, breakfast was amazing and the workers was also amazing i am glad me and my family choose best western

The hotel has been renovated and looks nice but the policies and housekeeping habits need to be overhauled. I booked this room because of the indoor pool and the trip advisor rating. When we first arrived we went straight to the pool. There were no towels in our room and no towels at the pool. After an hour of swimming, I went in the room to call the front desk and ask for towels. She replied that they would bring some in a few minutes. After 30 minutes, I flagged down a worker and begged 3 towels off of his cart. We didn't receive towels until after supper. There were never towels at the pool on the 3 occasions we were in there. On our second day, our room NEVER received clean towels (despite the pile of dirty ones in the middle of the floor). They emptied the trash in our room, that is all. Our last night, my dog sitter had an emergency and couldn't keep her overnight again. No problem since the hotel is "pet-friendly," right? WRONG! We had to switch rooms at 10:30pm because find aren't allowed in rooms with interior access because of a "state law" (even though chains like LaQuinta offer full access to pets). So my handicapped son had to be carried to an UPSTAIRS room and my 12 year old and I had to carry all of our belongings across a ridiculous distance because the hotel only has ONE ELEVATOR. The indoor pool is a huge bonus and very nice and secure but on our second visit, the hot tub smelled like a boys locker room and the water was yellow. It was yellow the first time, too, and I assumed it was just the color of the tub but our last morning there it was blue so...yuck. The breakfast is fantastic with a buffet and a super friendly chef that can cook omelettes, pancakes, burritos, eggs, etc. I would not stay here again. The facility is nice but the memory of my son and I dragging our belongings across the hotel at 11pm because my 7# dog wasn't allowed in my room at a "pet-friendly" hotel has pretty much ruined the experience.

I read a lot of positive reviews but failed to have the same experience. When we arrived the young lady St the desk was a little short in friendliness. That's okay. I thought we got a good price for the reviews I had read. We were given a room on the first floor with outside access. No problem. Till we drove around a closed restaurant to the area where the room was located. Reviews and posting on BW website said the rooms had been refurbished. Well, they forgot to paint the door. Part of the door looked filthy but it was the paint. Also door looked like it had been hit several times but it was the paint. Carpet did look newer until we went into the vanity area where it had frayed. The bathroom at first glance appeared clean. Till I spotted “something “ on the wall near the door. Also had to hold on to the toilet paper holder to keep the roll from tipping it and falling off. Tired and already unloaded I just wanted a hot shower. My husband took his first. He came out and said to be sure to turn the faucet all the way to hot. Well, either they put a limit on the amount of warm water each room gets or something- by the time I rinsed the shampoo out of my hair the water was barely lukewarm. This was at 6:30 at night, so I'd hate to experience the temperature later or in the morning when more people would probably be wanting hot water. There was a spot on the tile in front of the vanity that I thought I could wipe off with a wet towel. Nope. Then I tried scraping it up with my fingernail over the towel to no avail. But to my enjoyment my sock stuck to it every time I accidentally walked on it. The best part of the stay was the breakfast. All of the young men in the kitchen and dining area were extremely polite and I got a tasty omelet. I won't be staying at a Best Western again based on this experience. New logo does not make for a refurbished updated experience.

Once you are inside doors, it's all about the ambiance. Indoor pool with conversational group seating and intimate bar space grace the multi-leveled ground floor. The complimentary breakfast, available only for hotel guests, lacked nothing. We were in a second floor suite, overlooking the pool, obtained for a doable price.

The hotel is nice. When in town I only stay at best western. The indoor pool is very nice and the rooms are always clean. I love the push containers on the walls with soap shampoo conditioner and body wash in case you forget to bring your own. The only problem is there needs to be more variety of foods instead of the same thing every day and the internet is not good it would not allow us to get on social media are anything really. But overall it's a great place to stay.

The hotel itself is pleasant. You can get a great suite with an indoor pool and breakfast for around $100. Rooms were clean and the breakfast was decent, actually better than the average hotel. BUT!! The service was horrible. From them denying I had a reservation even with me showing them the reservation, to not bringing towels to room when requested, no towels at the pool, breakfast manager getting rude when asked simple questions it just made for an unpleasant stay. I will say though that when I complete the survey they sent me management was quick to contact me about my issues. Hopefully there will be some improvements. I would be willing to stay here again, especially for the price.

Had room inside by breakfast area but very quiet, very convenient, close to really nice indoor heated pool area. Breakfast was superb. Omelett bar, waffles, sausage, grits, biscuits, gravy, cereals. This place is very large, several meeting rooms. There were a few leaky areas from atrium roof in the breakfast/pool area. It was raining and felt drops. Hopefully this will be fixed.

We stayed in room 309 which is a Fireplace Suite for around $104 pre tax. We were pleasantly surprised with how large the facility is and it appears as though they've added on. We were only there for sleeping and breakfast but the beds were comfortable and the room was clean. Breakfast coffee was delicious and they will custom make omelets or fried eggs in addition to their traditional continental breakfast. They had many non traditional choices such as organic soy milk, stevia, and REAL butter, all of which were a nice touch. The pool area is gorgeous and our room opened to the inside. The hotel was beautifully decorated inside. Would stay again!

All the rooms are outdoor facing motel rooms. Construction workers loiter outside. their rooms drinking and whistling at your wife, and then they wander the parking lot in a drunken stupor loud talking. The faucet in the tub leaked a steady loud stream. No HBO. This would appear to be a dive motel trying hard to appear otherwise. We will never, under any circumstances, return to this place.

Atrium view rooms are standard, clean, comfy. Atrium area, with pool and hot tub is really nice. Pretty to look at and pool appeared to be clean. Several people were enjoying it. Breakfast area is larger than most so no crowded feeling. Excellent value!

Staff is great always friendly and helpful. Always show concern and want to help if you need it. They make you feel special . This hotel is pet friendly and that's important for travels with there fur babies.

Great place to stay when working in the Alexandria area. Even though this is not a new hotel, they are trying to maintain the building and update with fresh painting and repairs. I would recommend this hotel to anyone needing to stay in central Alexandria.

For an older hotel this place was a 8+ bathrooms had been completely remodeled ,rooms where clean,pool area was amazing (indoor pool) ,breakfast was the best we have experienced in a long time ..huge variety to fit the whole family... will stay again when we visit Alexandria!!!!

Best Westerns are becoming a great chain again, but this hotel needs some improvement. The hotel was not full by any means and they put a large family next to us as we were two road weary travelers wanting peace and quiet. The entirety of the hotel could use some more cleaning as it had dust in places noticeable but out of normal reach. The staff member running the breakfast bar was blowing her nose and wiping with a tissue and her fingers. She did not wash her hands after this moment of uncleanliness. She then proceeded to tear down the breakfast station earlier than the intended 10 am parameter. I also observed other staff eating from the breakfast bar. That does not bother me because I abhor food waste, but wait until 10 am until no other guests would like breakfast. The front desk was friendly and helpful. Not a bad place it just needs some tweaking.

Friendly staff, very clean rooms, we loved the atrium suite with the living area and additional TV, the kids loved the indoor heated pool. Hot breakfast with fresh made omelet, pancakes, grits, biscuits, sausage and more.

Wouldnt stay anywhere else when visiting Alexandria. The front desk is friendly, professional, and go out of their way to accommodate you. The rooms have all been updated and have always been clean and comfortable.

The room was filthy. There were dirty towels and used soap in the room! We were traveling with four tired children one of which is special needs. We made the reservation online and it was non refundable or we would not have stayed.

I stayed one night at the hotel. My stay was very nice. The bed was very comfortable. The wifi worked great. They had awesome breakfast. The sleep quality was good. The only negative was the walls of the room was thin. You could hear the people next door.

In my opino the Best Western of Alexandria is the most cleanest and most heart worming hotal i have been in. and most enjoyable thing was the Hot Tub It was wonderful. The bed was the most comfortable I have sleep in.

Fantastic hotel at a very reasonable value. Hotel desk representatives were very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and the bed was amazing. If I had to make any suggestions it would be to offer a more diabetic friendly breakfast with a selection of proteins and sugar free items.

i stay here when i have to lay over on my route. the staff has all ways been friendly & professional. the rooms are comfortable. the breakfast is supreme. close to cafes & shopping centers, easy off & on to hwy 165. i rest well here & enjoy my stay here

The room was nicely appointed. The desk staff very helpful and pleasant. Pet friendly although not a lot of exercise space but still worth it. Noise level non existent; once I shut the tv off, I couldn't hear any sounds from either other guest rooms or outside.

We have stayed here years ago. We came back for the indoor pool. First the pool was nasty. It had hair in it. We would have to wipe down with towels to get it off. The hot tub smelled horrible. I wouldn't even get in. The sliding door to get to the pool area stuck and we had to shove as hard as possible to open it. It became arduous, so we just went out the front. One of the rooms ac stopped working and leaked water everywhere. The front desk clerk called my mother-in-law crazy in front of other desk and the manager was just rude. I will never stay here again and will tell others not to also.

Room was stinky, VERY humid upon arrival. Turned on the air conditioning only to have the dampness in the air condense on our bodies, bedding, clothing, and everything else in the room, I'm sure. Woke up wet, didn't sleep well at all. Front desk gave me a 10% discount for my trouble. This hotel needs to be REMOVED from the Best Western franchise until they clean up their act. And, BTW, their "walk-in" rate was $10 LESS than the lowest rate online! Gave it to another customer right in front of me!! And wouldn't honor it for me. STAY AWAY!

This should not be under the Best Western title. See photo of what was on my bed sheet when I went to get in bed. The carpet in the room was very sticky and dirty as well. Thankfully we were able to get all our money back from Expedia who we booked through.

Great hotel for the price. Hotel must be sold out a lot because we have been looking and there was basically no where to park. Rooms are rushed to be cleaned as the corners and behind some items in the room were not vacuumed. Maintenance doesn't have a chance to do any preventative work in the rooms because of the high occupancy. There needs to be a conscious decision to put room off market until they can be repaired. Shelly at the front desk needs to smile, but everyone else we met was great. We will be back next year and I hope to see some improvements.

Clean room, new mattress, everything we needed for a family passing through. Huge atrium with indoor pool and a hot, hot tub. Excellent breakfast with made to order omelet and pancakes. Outdoor pool that is displayed on website photos, is not there anymore. Has Coin laundry, which is important for a traveling family. Good hotel for people traveling through. Not a new property; but well maintained. I would stay here again.

Hotel needs remodeling, different staff and the air conditioning sucks more than a mosquito on a hot summer Louisiana day. They need to explain to the guest how the outside pool is no longer operable and turned into a small garden with weeds growing in it and the indoor one smells like a bucket of chlorine thrown. Rooms are maintained but not thoroughly clean. That's understandable but as much as the workers seem to work, where's the payoff? Fix the air conditioning including hot water and the annual revenue would most likely skyrocket. And come on, they need make more and better food and put the employee who use to make food to your order for complimentary breakfast as the new manager with a higher pay. This is a hotel, not a closet you need to clean out. Get your act together Best Western. Good riddance.

Nasty, dirty, unsafe, room was old, not clean. Panhandler working parking lot. Carpet so dirty that feet turned black walking across the floor. Vent in bathroom had 1/2 inch of lent on it. Fire hazard !

I have stated at this property many times for work and leisure, it is clean and in a good location for most areas of Alexandria, LA. The hotel is large and had a nice enclosed pool area. The breakfast is nicer then many hotels with higher prices. The rooms are clean and quite, and many are indoor rooms. Over all this is a good hotel.

6 yrs ago this was a nice hotel. Now its horrible! When you make the reservation they don't tell you the pool is closed for remodel. Volume on TV didn't work, microwave didn't work. The carpet was so nasty that after 30min of being in my white socks the bottoms were black!!!! The plug for the hair dryer didn't work! At breakfast the eggs were cold, and the sausage only half cooked! When the drink machine gave me the wrong beverage, I had to stand in line behind 6 people checking in, just to get my money back, because they only had 1 person working the hotel!! Only thing positive was the gal working the check-in. She was very pleasant......

Enjoyed the one night I stayed there The room was clean, comfortable and provided a restful night. The area was very quiet and the breakfast area was nice and clean the following morning. The food was quite good.

Excellent service and affordable comfort! Stay here at least twice a year during conferences. Very good breakfast, and the pool and hot tub are excellent features to this location that keeps me staying here!

Three words.....no hot water. No hot water, no good review. I like BW's as a rule. I'm on the road a good bit of the year and prefer BW"s to other chains. This location....even though the rooms were clean, the linen clean and smelling fresh, as well as the bathroom towels; if I can't get hot water from either the shower or the sink, that's a poor sign.

I stayed in a suite that has two queen beds and a sofa/bed. Everything was great, clean, and super fast service! The breakfast is stellar, and the indoor pool is a plus! Highly recommend this hotel for anyone staying in the Alexandria Area.

Dirty place..We stayed for 1 day because we were traveling for hours and needed to sleep . 9n route to Nevada with our dog. The room was smelly, not clean, fridge was broken, there was a ton of ice around the freezer, it was never defrosted. I told mgmt.. they didn't care. The TV didnt work well. No tissues in room, very dim lighting. You could hear every noise outside. Dirty shower, so we did not shower.I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL. This should be rated Minus 1 Rating!!! They have nerve charging what they do for the hole they put you in! SOMEONE NEEDS TO DOWNGRADE THEIR RATING! PEOPLE RELY ON TRIPADVISOR...

This hotel had pretty good reviews but also some terrible ones. I am here to tell you: Avoid like the plague. No elevator. Hotel is filthy- frito chips littering stairs. Fridge in room didn't work. I booked it for the pool. Should have paid attention to reviews that complained about cloudy, dirty pool. Swam laps and got the worst eye infection shortly after. Complained to hotel. They took notes but did not apologize. Also on a busy depressing highway.

Great breakfast at the Best Western in Alexandria. Cooked to order omelettes with your choice of ingredients. Scrambled eggs, bacon, grits, assorted breads, biscuits and gravy, fruits, yogurts, cereals and juices and coffee. Yummy breakfast. Ask to get a room in the back as the front rooms hear a lot of road noice.

We stayed 2 nights in a suite for 5 (2 adults, 3 kids). We had 4 towels to start with for 5 people. Not ideal, but we dealt with it. However, our room was never serviced on the second day so our towels were never replaced. When my wife called to ask for towels, she was told that we'd have some soon. We didn't. She called again. Still no towels. I went to the front desk at 9:00pm and was told there were no towels at all left in the hotel. The desk clerk said people didn't return them. I explained to her that someone has to go in the rooms and take them out. There were several dirty ones on the floor in my room waiting to be washed. When I stay at a hotel, I am basically paying for a bed and a shower. Effectively, I got 50% of the deal on the second night. Do I get a 50% refund?

My wife and I visit Alexandria Louisiana quite often and we stay at this Hotel every time, the service and the excellent condition of this Hotel is just great. we will for as long as we can always use this hotel when we are in town.

We stayed here over the weekend for a baseball tournement and I was thoroughly pleased. Great rooms ..we were upgraded to a suite upon check in ..friendly staff always a plus..nice indoor pool and jacuzzi. And the breakfast is amazing. Highly recommend this hotel if you are in the area

My stay was wonderful. The room was clean and orderly when I entered the room. Checking in and out was seamless. The breakfast and lunch for my meeting were delicious. The staff is courteous, professional, and efficient with checking me in and out.

My stay here was just a stop over between Gulf Shores, Alabama and Fort Worth, Texas to break up the drive. I actually prefer a good motel over a hotel because, I love being able to just step outside. As I said, it was a short stay. When I arrived, the room was above my expectations. I called in an order to Cajun Landing and walked just a couple of minutes to bring my food back. I ate, I went to sleep then, I was awoken by people being rowdy outside. I gave it several minutes to see if they were gonna quiet down and called the front desk. The person who answered the phone was VERY apologetic and said security would take care of it right away. Just a couple of minutes later I heard security and the noise stopped. THIS is the kind of quality service and amenities that would convince me to stay again if I was ever in or, going through, Alexandria, Louisiana again!

Gross Hotel! The online pictures of this hotel are not what it really looks like. The hotel smells like chlorine. The room is old. The bed is uncomfortable. The a/c sounds like a freight train when it turns on. The food is disgusting and the eating area is so dirty!

We had a one night stay on our way to Natchez. This was a more affordable location to stay on our trip East, but close enough to Natchez to explore the area early the next day. The rooms were clean and functional for a good nights sleep. We walked to a restaurant next door, the Cajun Landing, and had a wonderful dinner. Very convenient! The staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was a huge step above the normal free breakfast. We did have to go into a separate building which we needed directions to guide us there. There were some grill options of omelets and eggs, in addition to the hot food on warmers. This was an affordable and pleasant place to stay.

I really don't know where to begin so this is going to be a little long. My fiance booked this room from 3/1 to 3/4 for an event being held at the hotel and from check in to check out this place was unprofessional and overwhelming. During check in the front desk agent took a personal call, rude, but okay, still stayed positive. We get to the room and notice it is NOT a suite like we booked but the room was huge so I guess that was okay. If the hotel considers this a suite, that's a different story, but this room was NOT EVEN CLOSE to what the website offers. This room was filthy and disgusting. Unrecognizable stains all over the ceiling, walls, and floors. I wiped the walls and door frame to see how taken care of the room was, I ended up with a dirty towel and a couple of tiny spiders, gross. The shower left much to be desired and the shampoo fixture looked like it was ripped out and the holes puttied up (ended up having to get the usual tiny bottled shampoos and stuff, which is more than okay for us.) What took the cake was a tissue paper sticking out of a hole in the wall. I don't understand why a tissue paper would be better than a hole. Eww. Front desk was notified and housekeeping removed it for us and we were thankful. We couldn't move rooms because they were full for the duration of our stay which was extremely disappointing. So unless we wanted to pay suite price for a basic tiny room, we were stuck. From there everything was fine until the Friday morning. While my fiance had meetings all day I decided to use what was considered the spa tub (which was basically an in ground, barely oversized tub) in my room. Everything was fine until a maintenance man walked in on my relaxing bath to "fix the shower dispensers"!!!! I don't know what "do not disturb" means to some of the people who work here but this man clearly did not understand what it meant to have the sign on the door. At the hotel I work at, Do Not Disturb means I want my privacy. We had small shampoo bottles so there was NO REASON this man should have been in our hotel room. Not only did I feel as though my safety was compromised, but I felt extremely violated as this strange man just stood in the bathroom area talking to me about why he was there. Once he left I got out of the tub and notified my fiance of the occurance, in that short period of time, housekeeping knocked twice and I told them we didn't need anything and we were good. About 30 minutes later THE SAME MAINTENANCE MAN knocks and asks if he can come in to fix the dispensers. I told him we were okay without them and he could come back when we checked out. How could he show his face after just barging in on me like that? I emailed Best Western's customer service and have yet to receive anything back from them. I know this hotel chain/brand WOULD NOT be okay with anything we have experienced so far. After my fiance's meeting, he went speak to the manager on duty and she said she would get back to him later and never did. It took him going back a second time and a third time and speaking to another manager to get anything done. We were assured we would have one of our nights taken off our bill. Of course that doesn't change how violated and angry I felt but it was appreciated. Saturday was fine although I was no longer comfortable in the room. While we were leaving Sunday morning it felt like housekeeping were in our room before we were even sure we were done in there. When we checked out the front desk agent gave a receipt with all 3 nights on it, my fiance addressed it and it was fixed to only 2 nights as discussed. We WILL be watching out for any additional charges and to be sure they do not try to go back on what was discussed billing wise. I know some things in the hotel business are out of the staff's control, and I understand that more than the regular person might, but this was a terrible experience. The hotel made plenty money from the group we were with and I hope they use some of that to fix the room that we were in because the saloon style doors to the bathroom do not hide how grimy this place looks and feels. I DO NOT recommend this place and if you HAVE to stay here for whatever reason do not stay in room 266!! Ask for an atrium room because they are MUCH nicer than the others and make sure you are locked up tight while you are in your room because the staff do not understand privacy. Attached to this review are all the pictures I took of the room throughout the stay. Eventually I gave up because there was just too much to photograph.

We arrived on a quiet Monday evening after a long day traveling. We asked for a room near the pool and had a room opening on the courtyard. There was no one else around and we had the pool and hot tub to ourselves. The pool was nice and warm and comforting. Breakfast was served right out our door and was delicious with fresh cooking options. One of the nicest breakfast options I have seen. Not sure what the experience would have been nice on a busy evening with lots of kids or during a conference but it was heaven for us!

I stayed at the hotel recently due to a business trip, I was well pleased at the cleanliness of the room and the Front Desk Staff was quick to address my need for more toilet paper. I had a wonderful experience with my stay. I am positive that the manager was not Kishan, I met them and had a wonderful conversation however I can't remember the name. Overall, thank you for a good stay and look forward to continue using this hotel for my trips in the future!

Stayed at this hotel many times in the past. The new manager, Kishan, failed to honor a contract and bumped my arrival date. Didn't get a room until 5pm the next day which interfered in my business schedule. All they, reservationists, could say was sorry. Yes, it was a sorry experience.

If you're going to stay in Alexandria this is the place to be! Excellent service, amenities and staff. We stay here every year for a major conference and book our rooms a year in advance. It is well worth it!

I'm not a hotel snob as long as it is clean. Pros: quiet rooms, can't hear your neighbors, nice towels. Custom eggs or pancakes by chef at breakfast. Cons: Gross! There were white sticky stains on the bedspread. (For some reason I can't access the photo I took for upload) There was a dried feces streak on the back part of the toilet seat, no way it had been cleaned. I was so grossed out I cleaned it immediately before I thought to take a picture. We were too tired and settled in to ask to change rooms. The dining atrium looked like it could use a good sweeping and mopping, areas that didn't get much traffic had crumbs and were dirty. The table we sat at had food stuff on it, and it wasn't crowded at all that it couldn't have been cleaned. It could be a nice facility if there was more attention to cleanliness. We stayed at other Best Westerns on this road trip and they were great.

I have stayed at this hotel 2 years in a row for a conference and I must say, I really like staying here. The "suite" rooms are my favorite. They are by the indoor pool and breakfast bar, which is great. Our conference rooms are always very nice and the food at the conference is always good. The staff serving and cleaning has always been so nice. If you plan to have a conference here, it is a great choice.

Amazing change since I stayed here in 2012 - clean rooms, amazing staff, beds are comfortable and the free breakfast was great. Wish d remembered my suit for th indoor pool and hot tub, we will be back

We had a wonderful experience. Everyone helped make our stay excellent and enjoyable. Great breakfast buffet and the kids loved the indoor pool. The beds were comfy and the room was clean and very nice. The fireplace was a nice surprise and set the tone of the trip from the very start to a relaxing stay. GREAT JOB done by all !!

We stayed because we like Best Western hotels, however, this hotel was a hidden gem, our suite was beautiful and the fireplace and location was a plus, the chef at breakfast was amazing at doing a custom breakfast and inviting you back for seconds. The atrium was both beautiful and a delightful experience. We intend to make sure we always stop by and stay here in the future.

We left a expensive watch and the next day when we called about it,it was nowhere to be found. This is the purpose for lost and found. I've left things at other hotels including BW and always was able to collect them. We don't expect our money for it but, we wasn't offered anythiny for our lost.

Loved the Location, everything was close by and made for easy access. Rooms were clean and the staff was professional. Glad we saved our money for experiences. The room was great and clean, we didn't feel like we were missing anything. Really grateful for the staff and their suggestions. The BBQ suggestions made the trip!

Indoor pool was poorly placed and looked cloudy. Fresh eggs cooked the way you like them at breakfast was nice. It's nice to have a balcony outside of your room where you can smoke. Decent restaurants close by

Front desk wonderful Housekeeping so very nice and helpful. Dogs were accepted for small charge. Not closest to hospital but only 7-8 min away. Helpful to us with post surgery. Could not beat our stay anywhere in town

So this has never been my first pick as a place to stay, but while driving cross country I was limited. HOWEVER... for only $89 a night plus buffet breakfast, my grandma and I stayed in an extremely clean suite in Alexandria, La and Tallahassee, Fla. I highly suggest BEST WESTERN anytime you need a place to stay on vacation. The buffet in Alexandria was amazing and very nicely displayed. I wish I would have taken a few pictures of it. Oh and the very nicely dressed, super friendly at the front desk the next morning was awesome!

Our stay was excellent. One of the best hotels we have stayed at and the price is excellent. The hotel was clean, smelled clean, decor was great, employees friendly and concerned about our comfort and having every thing we needed. Beds were comfortable. Free breakfast was awesome, as good a restaurant and better than some.. We were here for Gumbo games for children with physical and visual disabilities. Acomaditions for a wheel chair were good. We will definitely stay here again.

In the past I have highly recommended this hotel. However, since it has been taken over by new owners it has been going down. 1st - They use to have an additional promotion where you stay 8 stays at that hotel and you received one free night. without notice they stopped doing that and did not honor the 3 free nights I had already acquired. 2nd their breakfast use to be a real good breakfast. but since the new owners it too started to decline. 3rd - the towels they use even seem to be getting cheaper. 4th - Instead of give you a pre-packaged bar of soap they have installed dispensers ( even in the showers ). 5th - If these are things I can readily see, they are cutting corners in other ways as well. This was probably my last stay there.

Worst hotel experience of my life. We checked in around midnight. The person at the desk spent about 20 minutes trying to figure out how to apply our gift cards and was unable to do so. We went to our room and I realized that we were not upgraded (I am diamond status) he also did not provide the internet password. I called the front desk but no one answered. I walked around the building alone at night to ask about this (it is not a safe area). When I mentioned he did not upgrade us he apologized but did not move us. I went back to the room to discover the handle had fallen of the toilet. I went back to the front to ask to be moved. He moved us, but then forgot to activate our keys so after walking to the back of the building we again had to walk back around to the front to activate them. When we were finally in our room we realized it had two beds instead of one. At this point, I was not going to move again. Nearly 2 hours later, we were finally in bed. Due to the fact we we were so tired and overslept we missed our plantation tour the next morning. I was also not provided with the "welcome gift" that diamond members are supposed to receive. The woman at the front desk the next morning was very helpful in adding the gift card and apologized.

The front desk was nice enough to allow my family to enter my reserved rooms before I was able to join them since I was 5 hours away. up on my arrival I was pleased to learn that my family was happy in their rooms. On our second day our room access cards was premature deactivated.

Superb management! Hotel staff is helpful and friendly. Pets allowed with outside places to walk your dogs, including a pavilion. Elevator for second floor rooms. Inside and outdoor pools. Great breakfast included, with cook on staff for special orders. Laundry facilities. Conference areas for special gatherings. Ample parking. Beautiful grounds. Resort-like atmosphere.

Best Western in Alexandria, La is by far the best hotel I have ever had the pleasure of staying in. The amenities can't be beat. The entire staff is friendly, courteous and helpful. The manager will go out of her way to help with in expected needs.

Cheryl said she could give us a ground floor room in the Atrium. That is where breakfast is served. We took the room and could not have been happier. The indoor pool was just outside our door, but it closed at 9. So, no loud noise. In the morning I had my breakfast cooked and served!! Only the second time in many years I've had the eggs cooked while I waited. That alone gave it 5 stars for me.

Old, poorly kept hotel rooms noisy and smelled bad! Hard to find and in a very commercial run down area. Seems to cater to the working man which is ok but very noisy all night due to truck traffic and alarms going off all night

We were in Alexandria to watch our grandson play football. We typically try to stay at Best Western because they are generally a good value with comfortable beds and decent breakfast. This one has been remodeled and was pretty nice. The beds were really comfortable and the internet was fine. I would recommend it if you have to be in Alexandria!

I stayed at this hotel because I attended a conference there. Next time I will stay at another hotel and drive back and forth to the conference to from the other hotel. First of all this is an OLD motel. There are two basic sections, the older section in the front with standard rooms that open to the outside, and the newer section in the back with the breakfast area, indoor pool, and conference area. Unfortunately, I stayed in the front section. I never even made it to my room before I requested a room change. My "neighbors" included a few shady-looking guys hanging out on the balcony with a couple of big dogs (I'm a dog lover, so honestly I would have preferred the dogs over the humans!) I drove back to the front desk and ask for a room change. It was granted without any problem. My next room was better, except I had to keep the thermostat at 63 the entire time to keep the room cool. The furnishing were old, but serviceable. The bed was hard and the bed covers thin. The free breakfast was ok. I thought the buffet items were not very tasty and I don't remember seeing warmers being used under the serving pieces. There was a small "cooked to order" section that offered omelets and pancakes fresh. My two pancakes were good. The people that staff that section are very nice and friendly. This motel bills itself as "no smoking" but I observed people smoking outside there motel rooms, in parking lots, etc. The worst was when I saw room trashcans being placed outside rooms as giant ashtrays. This was disgusting. There were several smoking pavilions on the property and they were being used by some smokers, but not everyone smoked in designated areas. I did see the rooms in the newer sections. I think these might have been the suites. They were nicer than the rooms in the front, but be aware these rooms are adjacent to the indoor pool so plan to put up with the smell of pool chlorine. I attended a conference at this hotel. The conference rooms were ok, especially the large conference room. Smaller conference rooms has issues in that the folding walls were thin and the speakers in the adjacent rooms could be heard in my conference room which was distracting. Conference catering was average. Again, the staff was the highlight here. This hotel is pet friendly, which is a plus for me. I wasn't traveling with a dog, but it was nice to have them around. I noticed most of the owners were responsible and did pick up their dog waste. I can't honestly recommend this hotel. There are other hotel options in the area and travelers should take advantage of them.

The lobby was nice and in great shape. However the room I was given could use some refurbishment. It appeared mostly clean until I moved a chair to improve the airflow from the window air conditioning unit. Apparently the chair had not been moved in a while as there was trash under and behind the chair. Future guests need to keep in mind the room access is from the out side also when making a decision.

We spent one night here while passing through the area as they are pet friendly. Our room was NICE AND CLEAN and located on the first floor with exterior access as we requested since we were traveling with our dogs. There was however VERY minimal grassy area (2 foot strip along the fence line of the parking lot) to walk the dogs. Our toilet did not refill properly and kept running much of the night. The air conditioner worked very well. We would probably stay here again but need to look for additional grassy area to exercise our dogs.

We stayed here when we evacuated from Vidor Tx. They were the nicest, friendliest people we came in contact with. They did all they could to help us in our time of need. We had a very enjoying time. The rooms are clean and the breakfast was good. The swimming pools were nice and clean.

We enjoyed our stay at Best Western on MacArthur in Alexandria, LA. We evacuated so we were already having a hard time, the staff was very helpful and polite. The room were very nice and clean. The location was also good to everything was close by. They had a wonderful breakfast and that was amazing. The manager went above and beyond the call. She was kind and helpful. We will return to that hotel when we are in the area.

Leaking roof over my head cause me not to sleep. Water on my head woke me up in the middle of the night. Did not rest well. None of the staff apologized.... and acted as if they knew this room was unfit.

Room reeked of mildew. Could not get away from the smell. It was obvious staff had tried to cover the odor,with air freshener, but ince it wore off, mold took over. Bed - lunpy and uncomfortable, but this was minor compared to the mildew.

We enjoyed our stay at Best Western on North MacArthur in Alexandria, LA. Everything in the room was to our liking. We will continue to give our business to Best Western. The breakfast was fabulous and so delicious.

This was my first time staying at a BW Hotel. I live in Tacoma, WA and have charged my Telsa at a BW in my area on a few occasions. I am a top tier IGH rewards member; however, due to my local BW and their EV friendliness -- I thought I'd give the Brand a try. (Note this BW does not have currently EV chargers). Unfortunately, I did not have my Tesla - so I did not need them this time. However, hopefully, this BW installs some chargers/dedicated EV charging spots. I did see a light post with a 110 outlet and another in the back with some type of 220 adapters - so charging may be available though I didn't ask since there wasn't a need this time. Anyways now for the actual review! I was pleasantly surprised with my BW stay. I came for work for 26 days. The breakfast here is vastly better than the typical Holiday Inn pre made breakfast. You can get fresh made omelets and eggs from Charles which were GREAT!! The location felt safe and was close to many restaurants (hint go to the Cajun Landing). I used the pool and gym a few times and both were kept clean. In fact, the gym looked brand new. The staff here were very friendly and willing to help and resolve any issues I had. The only issue that I did have was that the internet went out the last 3 days I was there. Prior to it going out, the speed and wifi signal was great.

This hotel is in a good location and was a very good value. The room was clean but the beds were too firm for us. The staff were nice and the breakfast buffet had many hot items to choose from. There is an indoor and outdoor pool.

Good value, great location, alot of amenities, indoor and outdoor pool and hot tub, pleasant staff, breakfast buffet, nice gym, well light parking lot, down side non smoking room wreaked of smoke and broken ice machine

Nice, clean room. Our grandson loved the indoor pool. All employees were friendly. Only complaint: location of our room. There was only 1 elevator and it was way across the building from our room. It would be nice to have 2 elevators at different locations.

This is a great hotel to stay when you in the Louisiana area. I will tell my family and friends about this hotel and the price was a great price. I love the area and they have several restaurants in the area with lots of shopping.

At check-in was told indoor pool was closed for cleaning. At check-out was asked how my stay was. Told her I would have like to use the pool--that is one consideration on choosing a property. Was told it was closed to fix something that was broken. Really? Which was it? ....Evening...No internet... called front desk & was told they didn't know what was wrong. Said she'd have maintenance look at it the next day. Didn't help me! .............. ...Truth is... at breakfast I overheard some men that were part of a religious group that was staying at the property ask each other how long they figured they could talk the front desk into leaving the pool closed & internet off. Would account for different answers for why the pool was really closed. ..... I left a couple of messages for the manager to call me. After playing phone tag we finally reached each other. She said she was unaware the pool was closed for ANY reason and she was not told of any problems with the internet. Said she would follow-up and let me know what really happened. That hasn't happened. ..... Also, I left my robe in the room. The manager finally located it and said she would mail it to me... Good news... I finally received it back. But, took numerous follow-up calls and three weeks to get it. But, I did get it. So.... Overall... mixed feelings about this property. If you're going to have a pool, let the group that is "offended" by the pool stay someplace else! Don't punish your other guests by closing it. I count on internet access to stay in touch with family while I'm traveling. Also, review following day plans--opening times, etc. Made numerous phone calls instead. A partial refund---due to unavailability of amenities--would have been nice.

We broke down in Alexandria. The Hotel manager & her staff went well above being helpful. They made sure that we got to see a local attraction while waiting on parts. The manager also made sure I had a place to fix our Trike. Will stay here next time we are in Alexandria, LA. Thanks for all the help.

We checked in on a Friday and were suppose to leave on Sunday but we were having so much fun we stayed an extra night. The hotel is clean pet friendly has 2 pools and an amazing free breakfast. The staff was nice except for 1.

We were surprised by the small size of the room. However, we did pay the lowest price offered. For the two of us, it was cozy. More than two people would have been crowded. We could have paid a little more and gotten a bigger, nicer room. Truthfully, we have no complaints about the room. The atrium is really, really nice. We did not use them but had access to the indoor pool and hot tub. Once we closed our door we could not hear the echoing sounds of families playing in the pool below our room.

Hotel hosted family reunion. Everyone from front desk to hotel service staff friendly and accommodating. Banquet dinner and complimentary breakfast both very good. Atrium area with indoor swimming pool an unexpected and added treat.

Excellent ABODE For traveling to Alexandria LA. Clean rooms, everything about the hotel is great. Each time I visit Alexandria, I Chose This hotel. Everything about it is excellent from the front desk, rates down to the quality of the rooms.

Buffet line great as well as omelets to order. Facility centrally located to city in general. Excellent nearby restaurants within walking distance. Staff accommodated us with early check in. Front desk and custodial staff all very cordial.

The beds are horrible. The Keys only worked once. I had to walk to the desk each time I left the room to get my key scanned to work again. This was aggravating. The internet was not secure, so we did not use it.

The breakfast was great & rooms where very clean. They have a indoor & outdoor pool but I didn't get to try that out because I was on business but I like the way they had it set up. Overall I give them a 9.5!

We loved our stay here! The atrium is amazing. Breakfast was REALLY good. You can eat from the buffet or order. All included with the room. I would recommend this hotel for couples, families, elderly, anyone. They are also pet friendly. There was a large patch of lawn designated for pets to do their business, with a trash can and bags for easy clean up. This was a gem.

We loved everything about this hotel...the location of the indoor pool...the breakfast was outstanding...the room was awesome..the room rate was unbelievable...we were there for back to back medical appointments over a 2 day period and the location of this hotel was perfect..we will be going back...

Very clean, staff was very nice. Will stay again. Two pools and in or out rooms. Mini fridge was a definite plus. Radio keys Vs the swipe type is very convenient. Hot breakfast bar with an on duty chef.

I needed an inexpensive hotel for a one night stay. The quality of the hotel was very good for the extremely low price, staff extremely helpful and friendly. Everything in working order. Comfortable bed. However, this is a conference center, and there are two entrance doors to each room. There is a door where you would expect a regular wall to be. At first I thought it was an adjoining room until I opened the door and saw that it lead to the inside hallway of the hotel.

The staff takes great care of the veterans while we are there for 4 nights couldn't ask for a better hotel. If you ask the staff is there to help and fix any issue that might come up. The front desk crew is the best I have seen at any BW

This is a great place to stay. They have indoor and outdoor pools. Our room was just fine and the price was nice. The breakfast hours should last til 10 am not 9 am but the variety of food was perfect. They have a cook (wish I had his name) that will make eggs, pancakes and other dishes for you. And the buffet has all of the other egg, gravy, etc. you may want. And our a/c was wonderfully cold !

Great rooms great service we love this hotel.... wish all our travel tournaments for spftball had a hotel like this one!!!! Even the kids get excited when we say its Alexandria because they know we will be staying here!!!

Good location for a 1-2 night stay, but just an average to below average Hotel. We had stayed here before ( this was our third time). I would prefer a more upscale hotel but this has worked well for our family reunion.

This is the greatest hotel of all I have visited for conferences and conventions. The service is excellent for meetings, food service and the breakfast is extraordinary. The only problem is that there is only one elevator for access to upper floors in the suites wing. Our reservations were handled by an outside group and problems had to be addressed to them. The hotel staff was very accommodating where possible.

This hotel have everything you can enjoy . The rooms in this hotel are perfect ,comfortable and clean . The wifi is fast and on point. If you stay here, you will experience a relaxing retreat. The free breakfast is the kicker , not the same old morning meal . They have a cook , that will make you a omelette on the spot .

The location of the hotel, services of the staff, and the outstanding catering services were great. The rates were affordable. The host family was satisfied. Would host an event here again and would recommend to others to host their event at this venue.

This was the first time I have stayed at a Best Western and they provided a great experience for our family. If you have a large group or family reunion, this would be a great choice with the event center, complimentary breakfast, hospitality room, picnic grounds and suites for families of more than 2 people. They also have some restaurants that are close by that you can walk to.

Once again no matter which city. From southern Louisiana to the upper states, best western has always been a great choice. You can never go wrong. There staff is kind, rooms are clean, and amenities are great. Thanks again Bw.

My husband & I were in town to attend a business meeting at the hotel the next morning. We enjoyed the convenience of a delicious dinner at the Cajun Landing Restaurant right next door and also a great complimentary full breakfast in the lovely atrium area. Our comfortable room provided easy access to lobby area and meeting room. All staff was friendly, helpful & courteous!

Best Western located in Alexandria, LA has spoiled me to the point, that I don't think I will be able to stay at other hotel for the rest of my life! I always receive the best service possible and my grandchildren love the indoor heated swimming pool and my wife loves the indoor heated jacouzzi! Personally I Love Everything!!!

The atrium of the hotel is beautiful, so book your room there if possible. It is an older hotel but has been completely renovated. The fitness center is dated but the view is pretty. Great value for the area.

Great location, price and helpful staff! I have stayed here several times vs the other overrated hotels, chain or independent and this one beats them all, hands down. I have been staying in BW motels for several reasons, especially being able to park your car outside your door and save a lot of steps, just to get to your room. The rooms are spotless, large and quiet!

A great hotel. Clean, friendly and safe with many amenities! Have stayed here many times because of the great service and cleanliness. Close to shopping and restaurants. Also not far from LSU and 15 minute drive from airport. Hotel has 2 swimming pools...one indoor and one outdoor along with a hot tub. Free hot breakfast with a chef to cook fresh eggs! They also offer suites. I mainly used for business trips but a great place for family also. Staff is very accommodating, professional and friendly! The hotel manager is also very accessible if you have any questions. Overall one of the best hotels I have stayed at for my business trips!

Desk clerk super nice but couldn't help me get room locale I wanted or something like it. I'd reserved a suite weeks before but couldn't put me in one I wanted nor could she describe the setup of the alternatives so I had to choose blindly. (Very hard to be on 2nd floor, 2 women & 8 mo old baby & my very bad knees. No cart at that back entrance, us w lots of luggage and had to park far.) When I checked out next day clerk kindly asked how stay was, had to say the 2 huge gatherings (wedding & reunion from what I understand) partied loud till at least 3 a.m. We got little sleep, baby wakened over & over, crying. And told desk clerk room next door had TV super loud all night. She said I should have reported it but honestly that racket had to easily be heard throughout the building all night, especially by the pool I think, if even a single staffer was on duty. I don't like to report, don't need dozens of drunks mad at me (again, had my niece & her baby; we were in town to scatter my brother's ashes, feeling tender, didn't need any drama besides the night's revelry). She said she was so sorry for the noise, I told her don't sweat it, we'd likely be back, we'd liked it there when we stayed 2 years ago when my mom died. I hated for her to feel bad but truth is, it was a very unpleasant stay. And beds not that comfy, When we all got home, we all slept all day Sunday. Breakfast ticket taker severely depressed or something. She was sitting on stool, we were about first ones down, she morose, only word spoken was 'yes' when we asked was she the ticket taker (she could have greeted us and said I'll take your ticket, ladies!), didn't say good morning as I handed our ticket. Didn't bother to familiarize us, like, well, plates here, food there, made to order here, wouldn't have hurt her, we had a big fat baby to wag around and no one else was around, why not be helpful? Thought plates etc. were out at buffet station, took me forever to find the plates and flatware back at open made to order window (flatware in a huge tangled mountain, hard to extract, comical digging them out, them clinging to each other's wrappers, ridiculous way to present them). Hated the one meat, yucky links, everyone loves patty sausage and bacon, why serve those awful links, nasty. Love gravy and biscuits but that gravy was the worst. Niece got a pancake, she said it was all right. I ate only a bagel and cream cheese. Would have liked made to order omelet but people had crowded in pretty quick behind us and was hard for us to juggle baby and unorganized buffet plus lines. I think my niece had to find and drag over the high chair herself, stool sitter might have offered directions to it at least. I wish all this weirdness hadn't happened when I had my niece and the baby with me, wouldn't have irritated me as much. Not a real family-friendly place, I guess. More of a drunks hangout these days perhaps. Well, I guess that's where the money is.

Stopped on our carefree roadtrip/adventure. Front desk (sorry I didn't get her name on 4/20) was great and recommended place next door for dinner. Best restaurant, Cajun Landing, on trip! We stayed in older section to save some money. Room was good and we slept well. Free breakfast was wonderful thanks to chef who made omelets to order plus all the basic breakfast fare. Hostess was also great. So glad we stopped here.

We always recommend Best Western Alexandria to our clients and family. I know that the service and comfort will be above average. This makes my company look good when our customer have a great hotel experience. The Atrium area is a great place for small private meetings.

Average for what they offer. Rooms are cleaned too someone's expectations but are a little short of what Mom said was the basics. Overall the hotel had other commitments that they did not convey to there guests which ended in confusion to parking and security.

People that works there was really nice and the breakfast for a hotel was really good. The folks that worked there had there hands fool with a bike rally and soccer tournament people and the events on Saturday and still was just excellent and attentive.

Hands down the best breakfast I've ever had at a hotel. They actually have a cook that will make you an omlete to order! The indoor pool in the atrium is great for the kids during the winter months. We stay in the Suites, they are really nice and big.

I've stayed here for work and play many many times and it's by far my first choice in the area. The staff and management is amazing, the breakfast has a staffed kitchen area who cooks, and the rooms are always up to high standards. I wouldn't recommend any other hotel in the area.

Friendly and accommodating staff. The hotel is consistently good. I have to travel for work and frequently stay here. Breakfast offers a variety including omelettes and burritos. They offer express checkout!

The breakfast alone is enough to stay here. Breakfast is cooked fresh. Rooms were comfortable and clean. Internet connection was very fast. Liked staying in the atrium area. Will definitely stay at this hotel again.

After trying three other motels, with this one so far above the others, we won't stay anywhere else when visiting family in the area. The rooms are quiet, clean, comfortable, great beds, linens, towels, and extra bonus a full breakfast with fresh cooked eggs how you like upon ordering. We always tip the cook, for sure.

Great service and comfortable rooms. The staff is courteous, helpful, and friendly. They have the best breakfast in town. The rooms are excellent and the Hot tub and pool is awesome! This is a must stay when you are in Alexandria.

Front desk were on point housekeeper clean very well not even a hair strain seen.I give them a 4 star because someone knock on my door but it was suppose to be the door next to me they were looking for .other than that this place is comfortable safe for kids and very kozy for u and lover..??

We stayed here 10/21/2016-10/23/2016 for our anniversary we had the best time very clean very friendly service was awesome and the continental breakfast was very good also they have a cook on site to make burritos fry eggs and make egg omlets it was was very good will be visiting this hotel again and highly recommend

well worth money, beautiful and comfotable. Everyone was nice, slept great. Breakfast was amazing. Kids loved the pool. A/c was kickin, was quiet and took pets but could see any wear from pets or smell any pet odors. Will stay again for sure

my family and I had a wonderful stay at this hotel. It was very clean and the staff was friendly. We used the indoor pool and it was clean and big. The breakfast in the morning was delicious. We stayed in the suite and our kids had their own beds.

This hotel could be the model for gauging guest comfort and room cleanliness for an industry. The breakfast grill was a "cut above" most hotel offerings. The king bed was Royal. Professional staff and helpful employees abound. I was no doubt, impressed and a little reluctant to end my stay. I did report the room coffeemaker inoperable but It may have been due to lack of use because fresh coffee was available just steps outside my door at the breakfast grill. Excellent job BW!

I stayed in a suite that was large, nicely appointed, and clean! Customer service emanated from all employees starting at the front desk. Complimentary breakfast was inclusive of short orders prepared on site by short order cook. Great conference facility. This was my second stay at this hotel and if I have other business in the Alexandria area, it will not be my last!

Rooms clean, Breakfast hot and great. Inside pool is clean and warm. Staff very friendly. I liked the business center where I could check emails, etc. Overall a great place to stay for business or pleasure. It was at capacity and still everyone moved through breakfast flawless. Loved the hot omelets and biscuits. I always refer my clients to BW when in Alexandria

The physical appearance of the hotel is acceptable and the staff exhibited the courtesy that one would expect from an average hotel. That being said, the towel rack in the bathroom fell off nearly injuring my wife due to improper installation. The complimentary breakfast was the worst I have eaten in any hotel I have ever stayed in. The scramble eggs were so burnt that they were inedible, the pancakes were burnt black, the sausage gravy was watery, the grits were tasteless paste and the milk cartons smelled of sour, rancid milk. In addition, BEWARE the booking price may be different than the price charged the night you stay! As noted on the corporate website: "Each Best Western® branded hotel is independently owned and operated. Each hotel is responsible for complying with all applicable laws. Guest room types, rates, fees, charges, and applicable taxes are determined by each hotel. All reservations and agreements are exclusively between the guest and the hotel. *Taxes and fees shown on this page are estimates based on information provided by the hotel. Additional charges may apply." Indeed the total charged to my account was not what was displayed by the corporate website at the time of booking. The franchise apparently does not keep the corporate business up to date on tax rates etc so corporate only gives you an estimate. Not my way of doing business. I prefer their competition that always has the total correct to the penny!

The management & Staff go out of their way to accommodate you in all aspects of your stay. All the guest of our conference had nothing but praise for the hotel & staff. The meals were always very well prepared & great food! We, now, plan to have several more meetings at this hotel do to our experience!

We were at the hotel from Friday morning until after breakfast on Sunday. Friendly, courteous staff. Brian set up the room for our registrations and lunch--was quick and very helpful. Our banquet room for the night meetings was great. Our room was close to the meeting area which was nice. Room was clean and smelled great!

Always clean, friendly staff, and an excellent breakfast. The ooms are a very nice size, and the beds have ampl pillows to suit my needs. Never any problem with air conditioning or heat, pool is always clean. I would highly recommend this venue for an casual or business affairs.

Over all our stay was great. Unfortunatly we happen to pick the weekend when the I AM convention was going on .Never saw so many teenagers at on spot. When a some trouble finding a parking place after we came from our event that night around 12:30pm.

First the good. Our evening check-in lady was excellent. Very friendly, helpful and efficient. I'm sorry I don't remember her name. The room was bright with light and well-lit. It seemed to be clean. The made-to-order breakfast was great. I was glad to get back there for a second morning. The atrium was a nice place to eat with lots of room. Now the not so good. There seems to be a huge shortage of towels. We had 1 bath towel in our room and had to wait into the evening to get 1 more. Some of our friends didn't even have a towel and had a hard time getting one for a time in the morning. It's like they keep washing what they have and you have to wait for more. Strange. Somehow we go some tiny sugar ants making a trail to our room. The vent in our bathroom would not come on. We've talked to management and they worked with us to make it right.

Glad we stopped here. Very clean, comfortable and access to restaurants was excellent. I would recommend this hotel for family or businesses. The breakfast area is awesome with a cook there to make what ever you want. A good selection of hot and cold food was available as well. They have an indoor pool that looked wonderful. Wish I had time to take advantage of it. It would be a really great place to stay for a few days.

Excellent Service and price. The stall was very courteous and met all our needs. Free breakfast was very good and convenient. The hotel had an indoor and out door pool and fitness center. Good location, close to restaurants and shopping.

This is an old hotel I've stayed in many times before and the upgrades have been few and far between;mostly for the lobby areas. No upgrades on the rooms hardly at all. This recent visit was the last straw, old rooms, moldy toilet, broken fridge, dirty a/c and ANTS, ANTS, ANTS. I'm done, they've got to do better.

My stay was very enjoyable. The suites were very nice and larger than i expected, also the staff was very polite and helpful. The Hotel was located in a good spot that was easy to access and there wasnt alot of traffic delaying my travel. The swimming pools were also very nice and clean

Great breakfast, clean comfortable rooms, and easy access in and out. They have always seen to the need of their guests. You will enjoy your stay here. You can apply your points from Best Western that you get to other Best Western hotels.

The people are very friendly. They treat you like a real guest. The breakfast is on of the best. It is a must try. You want be disappointed. They also have both and indoor pool ,outdoor swimming pool and a hot tub.

Room 127. Stayed one night.. The Hotel was along side a busy highway, but this did not detract from a good nights sleep. The room was clean and comfortable and a good size. There was a fridge ,microwave and coffee making machine. The Hotel had two pools one in and one out, used the out door, nice and warm. There was a free breakfast buffet with eggs cooked to order all fine. In the evening we used the attached restaurant wouldn't bother again, quite unremarkable. Would use this hotel again.

Anytime i have to do in the States, I prefer Best Western Hotels. There is a small difference to other Hotels and this small difference I like since many Years. I feel better and can relax better, if I can stay in Best Western. The Managers and the Staff try to make the Guests satisfyied and you can get more, as in other Hotels, for a fair Price!

Our room was fantastic and enjoyed every second of our stay. My Mom and Dad are both handicapped and was able to relax and enjoy their time also. The lady at the complimentary breakfast was so sweet to us and also the cook that prepared our omelets. I highly recommend this place to stay for cleanliness and friendliness of staff. My son loved the inside pool and also allowed me to sit and enjoy watching him and not be in the sweltering heat. Thanks again for the hospitality! Toni, Caleb, Bessie, Everett

This is an older hotel but the staff were very helpful and polite. The beds were comfortable, crisp and clean (no crummy bedspreads here.) Carpets and some of the is a little dated and dark and but the rooms are good for the price. I stayed in an interior room by the indoor pool and felt safe and it was quiet. I missed breakfast because it is only served until 9 on weekdays.

We always stay here when we travel to Alexandria. The staff is friendly, rooms are clean, free wifi, outside pool, inside pool, inside hot tub, animals are allowed for $10 fee, and gym. The breakfast in the morning is hot, fresh, and buffet style. Not the ordinary continental everyone else offers.Great atmosphere in the grand atrium where there is plenty of seating among the tropical plants for relaxing or watching the kids swim. My only complaint is that there is only ONE elevator for the entire hotel and is only on one side of the building. Really nice place to stay overall.

Nice Breakfast, cooked to order eggs and pancakes. Older Property, smelly interior/atrium rooms. Miniature pillows on king beds. Management cuts corners in the wrong areas. Beds and rooms were decent enough but raunchy carpet deodorizer and crappy pillows really brought down the entire experience. Employees were all great from hospitality to housekeeping.

The company needs to teach customer service.. Hire more people to check people in. Because the check-in time was ridiculous. The representative was rude. did not allow me to redeem my $25 coupon towards my room.

Every time i need to go to the va. hospital Best Western is were i stay. Also just going to Alex. The wife and I are all excited about staying at Best Western, because we know the servive and rooms are great for our stay.

I took my family to the Alexandria zoo for my birthday weekend and this hotel had decent reviews so we booked a suite. After a terrific day we went to the hotel to check in. When I walked up to the desk the clerk picked up the phone never even acknowledging that I was there. After she took the callers information, cc, phone number and address for what I would guess was a reservation she hung up the phone and without looking at me asked if she could help me. I said I was checking in. She promptly asked for my drivers license and credit card, ran through it all, I asked for two cribs/ play and packs she had no idea what I was talking about and picked up the phone I assume calling someone to ask finally she came back to me and said they would bring them over, and then had me sign. At no point did she ever look up at me in this transaction. We went to our room and it was ok. The tub had some broken knobs and the toilet seat was not attached to the toilet. A few minutes later an older gentleman brought over two play and packs and when I asked for sheets for them he was happy to get them. This gentleman was the best thing at the hotel. I would like to say that things got better but they did not. The suites are next to the conference rooms where a very loud graduation party was going on. At 8 when we put up the play and packs they were both not clean but one was wobbly and a little scary so we called down to find out if they could switch the broken one out, they had no more, we also asked what time the party would be quieting down as it was so loud in our room it sounded like we were part of the party the clerk said she didn't know. We asked if they could at least close the doors and she said she would ask. When we asked her again what time the party would shut down she said they had paid for the room and there was nothing she could do. We made a couple more calls to the front desk and at 10 I finally went down to demand a room change. The clerk said all the rooms would be the same and where would I like to be put. At this point I had had enough of her bad attitude and told her that she should know her hotel and know where a quieter room should be. She did finally move our room and at 11p at night I finally was able to get my twin 2 year olds to bed in a quiet room. If you are looking for any sort of customer service this is not the hotel for you. Two days later the manager has never even bothered to call me to ask about the stay and problems we had.

The Best Western has the cleanest rooms! Housekeeping is really on top of their business! The suites were well laid out and very comfortable! We have met the manager, Margaret Turner and she is friendly, eager to help and very professional! The breakfast was amazing! The omelette was cooked exactly as ordered! If you have need to stay in Alexandria, La. Best Western is the place to stay!

Room 128. Very dated motel showing its age,especially the rooms. First night roach crawled out.Front desk was accommodating and moved me to this room.Carpets very stained,bed springy an worn out, shaped like a U and who knows how old.Furniture was damaged an old. Worst best western ive stayed in,place needs attention bad!

When first driving up to the hotel I thought to myself, "oh boy" and then I sighed really heavy. My travel department makes the reservations and really have no clue of what the hotel really looks like, etc...well as soon as I entered the lobby my initial opinion started to wane a bit, well once I got inside the hotel to get settled in my room I was a little intimidated, until I came around by the Cajun Landing restaurant (don't go there - gross), as I entered the hotel and walked towards my room I became very pleased...indoor heated pool, Jacuzzi, fitness room, and the best part - it was pristine...I got to my room and though it was typical - I have no complaints at all...microwave - refrigerator....just perfect! Oh and near the MALL!!!

Have stayed at this Best Western on two occasions while in Alexandria and found it to be one of the best in the area. It is conveniently located on a major road with easy access. The indoor pool and hot tub makes for an enjoyable stay.

Beware of blood spots on sheets.....looked it up.....bedbugs in room 124! Changing the sheets won't help. So we cancelled. I left a message for the manager about this and I hope she takes care of it. The sad thing is I think the desk knew there were bedbugs and have it to us anyway.

This is almost 2 hotels in one. The front section gives it a deceiving impression of an older hotel that you might drive by. The rear of the hotel, with the conference center, is like a totally different hotel...more modern well appointed rooms and amenities; and a spacious atrium. The hotel treats the guests just great. The rooms are clean and fresh. The hotel has 2 pools...one indoors and one outside. I was particularly pleased with the breakfast. Besides the normal assortment of continental style items they also had hot scrambled eggs, sausage, bacon, biscuits & gravy and...eggs cooked to order. A real benefit is being right next door to the Cajun Landing Restaurant and Lounge.

I was traveling with 2 other women and we do not like to stay in motels with outside doors, for security reasons. I paid extra for an room that faced the inside pool, and requested a room downstairs as one of the ladies uses a walker. I also booked through Best Western's own site. When we arrived we were informed, a little rudely, they had no rooms downstairs they were all full, but they had an elevator. Ok. However...Our room was on the opposite side of the center courtyard, of the elevator, so my little lady had to walk a block to get to the elevator, and another block to get back to the room each time. This became pretty wearing on her. I felt bad as I had told her I had requested a downstairs room for her. The building has been added on to a few times and the floors were a little uneven in places also. I just feel we could have had a little better room as the check in lady knew I had requested a downstairs room for a handicapped. We just stayed two nights, when we arrived back in our room we had to call down to the office and request towels, seriously.... we had one towels set of towels. The room was clean and I like having a microwave and refrigerator for my convienence. Breakfast was fantastic, I loved the omelet.

We were there for a convention and enjoyed our self to the fullest. The staff was very nice. Breakfast was awesome. Rooms were very clean. We did have a problem with the A/C, but we were moved to another room. The location was awesome. Walmart and Restaurants are very close.

I highly recommend this hotel, they go above and beyond to make sure your stay is the best. Clean and comfortable rooms. Indoor and outdoor pools. The breakfast area is far beyond any other in the business!

We have stayed here several times, the indoor pool is always warm and clean, a great place for family fun. The breakfast omelette is awesome ! Our room was quiet and clean, the mattress was a little firm , but we still had a great stay, will be back.

We arrived after dark after a long drive. Couldn't really see the property and chose a room where we could park in front of the door rather than an inside room facing the pool. Next time we'll be sure to take the inside room which is literally "inside" facing a beautiful indoor pool. The complimentary full breakfast was delicious...a buffet and/or cooked to order by the chef. My pancakes were wonderful, perfectly prepared. At the front desk was a delightful lady named Turquoise. We wish we could make many more trips to Alexandria just so we could stay at BW more often!

Everyone was real nice at check in and through out my entire stay. The breakfast was exceptional. I especially appreciate the recognition I was given being an elite member. If ever near Alexandria. I recommend you stay here.

The hotel is centrally located in the city. The rooms are very comfortable. The indoor pool is a bonus when staying during the winter months. The hotel staff is extremely friendly and helpful. The breakfast is amazing!

We got here at nightfall after a long drive. We were tired and hungry and ready to relax and dig in to the pizza we picked up. At check in I was simply told "around the corner and up" as she pointed over her shoulder. I had reserved weeks ago and asked about the ground level room I had requested, she just shook her head. Well, alrighty then. We got so lost hunting for the room, getting madder by the minute. This is a huge complex and poorly signed. Yes, there are signs with groups of numbers, but only pertaining to what you are standing in front of. If your room isn't in that group there is no additional info to point you in the right direction, and there are lots of directions to go. When we finally found it and realized how far away we were parked, we then moved the car. Went to get ice, but the machine in our zip code was empty and we had to go all the way to the front to find a functioning one. Breakfast was good, we made jokes about being scared to disturb the breakfast lady. She sat, arms folded, leaning against the wall, more interested in whatever was on the TV than anything else. Overall, the hotel is nice and clean but maybe not so welcoming. Being tired and lost and then no ice was just a really bad start when we were so tired. Not a bad place to stay, just insist on clear directions to your room.

Check in was very unhelpful and uninformative. The room was nice and clean, everything functioned. The breakfast area was very nice and food was good. Not happy that ice machine in our area was broken and had to trek quite a distance to another one. This hotel is very large and directions to the room and where to park are necessary unless you want to walk all over the place hunting for it in the dark hauling luggage. I was just told "around the corner and up". Wrong. Pools were very nice.

Always enjoy staying here. Employees are very friendly. Love the inside pool and atrium area. Would recommend this hotel to family and friends. My husband and I enjoy the breakfast and this hotel has always been very great to stay when we come to Alexandria.

This is an old hotel, but has been updated and is well maintained. The rooms off the atrium seem to be the best and they have no outside traffic noise. Breakfast buffet is good and staff is friendly. There is some expected noise at the pool at the atrium but it seems to quite down by 10PM so is not a problem. The location is OK and there is a good restaurant next door.

Don't let the outside fool you. Yes the exterior is outdated but once you step inside its a hidden gem. It is well decorated, the rooms extremely comfortable. The staff go above and beyond. There is a indoor pool & hot tub for winter months and a outdoor pool for the summer. The breakfast offered is phenomenal, made to order omelets , many side dishes and then your normal hotel breakfast items. I stayed at a few other hotels in Louisiana this trip and this hotel was the best. I would highly recommend it

Hotel ok but service needs attention. Asked for shower curtain and commode seat be fixed and was told to put towels on floor for overrun of shower,etc. Would recommend for price but don't think I'll stay there again.

This is an old hotel but is well kept. It has an indoor pool and hot tub, an outdoor pool and a newly updated exersize room. The breakfast is probably the best free breakfast I have ever had at a hotel. The rooms are just remodeled in the area I was in and looked like all over the hotel. For the price this one is a winner

For a decent price... it was a decent stay! It was a very quiet hotel. The rooms were average. Wish the bed would have been a little more comfortable. We stayed there for a soccer tournament... there was a large leisure area that was perfect for our team/parents to gather to eat together. *That was very nice.

We had wonderful people in the staff looking after our needs. The breakfast buffet was great- food hot that should be hot and cold items kept in small refr. Be sure to have the omelet cooked fresh for you! Indoor people kept at a lukewarm temp (we were there in Dec) and the hot tub was relaxing. Only complaint was toilet paper attached to a cabinet that kept opening when we used the roll.

Originally had a reservation at another Best Western 3 hours away. I was too tired to drive any further so stopped in Alexandria Inn. The clerk cancelled my reservation in Vicksburg and checked me in at Alexandria with no additional fees. She was very accommodating.

Hotel was very nice. Great location, clean, friendly staff, and great food. The rooms were up todate and comfortable. They had a personal chef that cooked breakfast. Only stayed one night because i was in town for a meeting. Will definitely be staying at this hotel in the future on a personal trip.

My husband I stayed there for three nights in November. Check-in was quick and easy and we got there a couple of hours early. The room was clean and adequate for our needs but rather dark. The bed was comfortable. The breakfast had a very wide selection with omelets and pancakes to order at one station. It also included buffet style grits, biscuits, gravy, scrambled eggs and sausage, pastries, yogurt and cereals. The setting was in an enclosed atrium with plants, waterfall and pool. The staff during breakfast were very friendly coming by the table asking if we needed anything and thanking us for coming. Overall, a nice place for a short visit in Alexandria.

The hotel and staff were terrific! I had to end up extending my stay and there was a smooth transition to the extra time. Everyone was extremely friendly. Room was clean and comfortable and the breakfast was excellent. Well worth the price! I will be staying there again.

The hotel staff is always very friendly and helpful. If you are ever in Alexandria I recommend you and your family stay here. They even offer other functions for groups. The inside pool and sitting area is a great place to relax and hang out with family.

Room was clean, good mattress and pillows. Breakfast was above average. A large rambling layout so make sure you park close to your room. Many rooms are very far from the elevator. I have to write some more to achieve 200 characters so here is my attempt to meet the minimum requirement

My experiences are always great as I do not consider any motel other than Best Western. I rate this facility top in Alexandria. I've visited this facility on many occasions and have always been satisfied and if I had any needs they were handled quikly

We booked these rooms last minute for a school field trip after our previous plans had to be postponed due to weather. Turquoise made the reservation process extremely easy. They were able to put me and all of my students close together. The hotel is conveniently right off I-49 but just far enough that you can't hear the traffic. The rooms were wonderfully spacious. The decorations in the room weren't your typical "hotel décor." The pictures in my room were black and white pictures of oak trees. The beds were a little firm for my taste. The breakfast was PHENOMENAL!

We stayed here for a wedding, and while it's not great, it's perfectly fine. The standard room was pretty large, but seemed kind of tired. It's definitely priced right, though. In a pinch we'd stay here again.

The hotel was convenient for the purpose of our stay. We would have preferred a room with movie purchase options on our television and a little more updated channels. All in all it was a good location, clean and had a great breakfast.

Spent two nights here at a conference this week. Every employee I encountered had a smile and offered a warm greeting. Everything was exceptionally clean. Breakfast was top-notch, and the breakfast hostess and line cook made every guest feel important. I would stay here again.

I changed hotels at the last minute and I am glad that I did...The staff and the location was wonderful. I slept on a comfortable bed ..( alittle hard, but that's ok) and the breakfast was wonderful...Kudos to the breakfast crew

The staff at the Best Western, Alexandria, LA made everyone in our conference group feel special. From the front desk to the service staff, everyone worked quickly and efficiently to meet our every request. All of our meals were catered by the hotel, and the food was first rate. The catering staff did an outstanding job, and every meal got rave reviews from the conference attendees. l highly recommend this hotel for any group function. I've already booked my conference for next year!

There was a nice laid back atmosphere but with excellent service. Breakfast was much better than most in terms of the variety of items, and the spacious and attractive dining area. Although this is certainly not a new hotel, our room was obviously recently updated and very pleasant. All-in-all, a very pleasant stay is a good way to describe everything.

Actually I am happy that I had changed from another hotel...Everything from the customer service to the cleaning crew to the people who worked the breakfast bar were wonderful. They bent over backwards to make one happy

Try to get in the Suites which is not in the main building. There is an area in the middle which has a pool, hot tub and breakfast area that are really nice and right outside your room. The only negative there is that the Internet isn't reliable, it is much better in the main building. Breakfast is great, and is actually made to order. Pool/hot tub is only open until 9 which is a bummer if you have a job during the day.

If your in town on business or pleasure this location is great.Located near I-49 and several major connecting Highways. Great Restaurant next door and several Fast Food locations nearby. The VA hospital is located nearby as well as the DownTown area. I have stayed at this location several times over several years and I have never been Disappointed.

Our room was nice. We had a king size bed, the mattress was kind of firm, not as soft as I would have liked it. Breakfast was great, they had cooks on hand to prepare eggs and pancakes, etc.. There was plenty of coffee so I was happy!

Great hotel for everyone to stay at and be able to get together at for the state meet event. The room was nice and roomy for the whole family, and the pool was great for the kids. There could of been a better selection with TV station channels, and the breakfast was wonderful also!

We've stayed her twice this year and both times were excellent stays. Great room, the beds are really comfortable!, Great breakfast, the made to order eggs/omelette/pancakes/etc are an awesome option! Great place stay!

I stayed in room 247 and the mattress felt like I was sleeping on concrete. I love a firm mattress, but this one was extremely hard. The staff was very friendly, but this hotel should invest in new mattresses. The morning breakfast was good though...omelettes and waffles made to order

The room had been updated. The décor was nice. There was a refrigerator. I thought there had been a microwave before but did not need it. The breakfast is made to order and very good. Each employee seemed to be concern with our needs.

Reserved room by phone, TOLD KIA I had to have a frige and micro! Arrived, NO frige or micro! They upgraded us to a Suite, I thought great! NO luggage cart and after an employee called the front desk a male showed up 18 minutes later and stated, "I walked around the hotel twice and couldn't find one!" He then turned around and left, I had open heart surgery two years prior and I walk with a cane because of bad hips and back and I COULD have walked around the at least 6 times in that amount of time. I then called the 800 # for BW and told cust svc the problem, he called the front desk and they told him they had no idea of the problem and they would send someone right down to help me. By the time he showed up I had all but my cooler in the room. Then as I tried to put my items in the frige, I turned it up, it NEVER got cold. The fireplace would not turn off so regulating the AC, therm right by fireplace, was hard to do. Tired of the problems my husband wanted a wash up and bed, pulled stopper on sink and washed, when he pushed it to let water out it would NOT open! Called about problems, SORRY can't do anything. Complaining to LISA, manager, next morning while checking out and she just walked away from me! More but tired of this now!

Staff put the word service in customer service at this Best Western. It was good to see that practice in action. Value was very good as rooms were very clean, comfortable, well maintained, nicely appointed, free internet and full breakfast all available in the room's price. The hotel is centrally located with restaurants, shopping centers, and stores very nearby. Will stay again if I', in the area! Highly recommend!

The room was overall clean, but it had a slight odor I did have an ant problem they were in my bed and carpet other guests traveling with me had ants too I had the impression that they were fully booked so I didn't ask for a room change, but I did get a slight discount on the room Staff was courteous and friendly Breakfast Selection was good
