"Expect men loitering around everywhere,"
The lobby was lovely .staff were as well, but rooms clean .and bathroom, all of the hotel need to be painted badly run down .no breakfast worth talking about . The thing that I was worried about was the men hanging around the building ,hallways ,my room was near the pool . A door to the hall way another to pool area , that nite kids were in it gone 10 pm very loud , I'd say it's for refugees or immigrants, seemed a lot of children in the hotel ,I would not have booked it if I had known ,I felt unsafe staying their ,
"Worst Night Ever"
Don't stay at this motel. Unsafe. Nothing works. Dirty and Rundown. Smoke reeked throughout the whole hotel. Full of sketchy and inexperienced security guards. Allowed sketchy patrons to hang around lobby and throughout hotel. Very noisy.
"Not ideal AT ALL."
This place is an absolute dive. The first room we were put in had stains all over the two inch mattress. We then were put in a room with a little thicker mattress but the room was gross. It had two adjoining doors one that connected to the conference room that was noted at the "cafeteria". There were people in the courtyard having a party so loud at 1 am that there was no way to sleep. There was private security all over the hotel which was concerning. I would not stay here ever and now will not use BW hotels. I suspect this hotel is being used for shelter space and quite frankly it is not fit for anyone. Housed or unhoused this place needs to be shut down.
"Not as advertised"
The room i walked into is not the room I expected. Looked nothing like the pictures online. I don't think I would book here again. The location is great, as we were coming here after date night dinner. If it wasn't so late I would of went somewhere else
"Awful stay"
This hotel was dirty and smelled. We felt unsafe and the beds were hard as a rock. The shower did not work properly and the towels literally fell apart while you were trying to dry off. My husband barely slept the whole night bc he was so uncomfortable with the lack of cleanliness of our room and overall safety. We will never stay here again
"Do not stay here"
It was like a refugee camp. People just hanging around in groups. No locks on any of the exterior building doors. People smoking inside. Room was so dirty. Checked out after 1 night. It was meant to be a week stay.

"Disappointed but for only one night stay"
Disappointed, but it was only for one night. The staff were polite and courteous, the room was ok, but the restaurant and bar were closed and no explanation given. The pool was over crowded and we felt uncomfortable and left. Returning from an early evening meal there was a confrontation outside the hotel with a film crew in attendance. Not promising. It was only explained the next morning travelling to the airport that hotels have to give 15 rooms to refugees from the city.

"Immigrant Hostel"
The hotel is used as a halfway house for immigrants. Upon arrival the outside reception area was crowded with people just handing around. My neighbors across the hall were staying 8 to a room. At midnight there was a dance party under my window. The rooms were awful, the hotel stinks, and the bathroom was covered in mold and mildew. Stay FAR away from this "hotel".

"Felt unsafe"
Worst option available in the area. I was traveling with my infant and 7 year old daughter. We arrived late and wished we could have stayed anywhere else! The doors didn't feel secure so we barricaded ourselves in! Cops on site and possibly a hooker!?!

"SureStay Best Western Albany Airport"
This hotel has basic accommodations and the bed was clean as well as the room. Breakfast was as expected as well. Although a totally inconsiderate guest allowed their dog to roam in the hallway and not clean up after It, which I stepped in, the management took action after I reported it. Also , for some reason there are (2) 24 hour security guards on duty at all times and have been for quite some time. Not sure why this is the case

"Stay at Sure Stay Best Western Albany Airport Hotel"
Excellent customer service. Excellent shuttle service to and from the airport. Room was clean and quiet. Appreciated the extra amenities of a microwave, fridge, and internet. Good value of room. Appreciate the closeness to the airport.

"Needs an Update"
One can see that this hotel needs a major update. It appears the hotel is trying to update some carpet in the rooms. The room was clean but some furniture had broken pieces. There was also a broken floor lamp with no bulb. The night club had a sign that said closed until further notice. The breakfast area was clean. However, a hot breakfast was microwaving a croissant breakfast sandwich, the use of one waffle maker(that was backed up), a toaster style conveyor to do any type of bread but items needed to go through multiple times to toast no matter what setting was being used. This wasn't what we were used to when staying at a Best Western.
"Makes Motel 6 look like the Ritz"
For the two dozen or so migrants who were staying there, it's probably the best place they ever stayed. Air conditioned rooms, and a 24-hour security force to protect them from the other unhappy (paying) guests staying at the same motel. For this (paying) guest, it was terrible. Broken TV, coffee maker, and shower rod. Flickering desk light. No internet. Maid services not provided; you had to fetch your own linens and toiletries. Slovenly hotel manager, who doubled as the front desk clerk on day shift, was the only staff person who spoke unbroken English.
"Pay little bit the place is scary"
You get what you pay for at $84 a night in Colonie NY. This place used to be known as the Sheraton many years ago and no updates have been made. They have about 10 security people, who walk around and do nothing, but they are there because this place is not safe, there could be burglary, prostitution, or drug sales going on here. I wouldn't recommend this hotel no matter what, you can get a cheaper hotel in the area that is safer.
"Very Nice place to park and fly"
We used the park and fly option for this hotel. Although the hours of the shuttle were listed they also picked us up from the airport after midnight with no hesitation. The hotel was very clean and comfortable. We stayed the night before the flight, and they moved us closer to the entrance of the hotel to avoid a dog that was constantly barking. The shuttle in the morning (5am) took only minutes to get us to the airport. Staying the night after the trip was a pleasure. I noticed that they had coffe pods in the room, but no coffee maker. In the morning I mentioned to the desk that this was something that they would need to correct for the next occupants, but in 5 minutes a coffee machine was delivered to the room. The staff here is determined to make this an efficient and welcoming place where the rooms are well cleaned and comfortable for the guests. After reading some reviews that dated back many years, I was delighted to find that there were none of the objections that others had found in the past. It is under new management that is working hard to renovate and upgrade the facilities. We are now in the process of booking our next trips in Albany, NY, and will definitely stay in this hotel and use the park and fly feature.
"Bad experience"
Room was supposed to be non smoking. Definitely was not. Hotel could be under renovation and rooms should not be sold the way it is. Room smelled, AC extremely loud and rattled. Shower head coming off of the wall.
"Disgusting, don't stay here."
The hotel had a very bad smell. The pool was crumbling and dirty The curtain and bed spread had stains The bathroom tiles were needing repair. The beds were like sleeping on rocks. There were security guards all over the hotel. There were dogs barking
"Good"
Very nice Just new policy should be told about 150$ holding fee Every thing else wonderful I definitely would recommend but again the holding feee should be on Priceline for people who book thru them
"Best place to stay in Albany"
Albany Sure Stay Plus Best Western is the best hotel in Albany. The friendly and efficient staff are very accommodating. The free shuttle to the airport and low parking fee on a weekly basis is convenient when flying out of Albany.
"Night from hell"
I have never had this bad of an experience ever!!! We were there for a New Years Party... The rooms were atrocious... The first room stunk like cigarettes and foul stench... The bathroom floors were sticky, the tubs were disgusting, we complained and was moved to a room that was only slightly better (Didn't stink) Between us and another couple we went thru 2 cans of lysol and almost 2 containers of clorox wipes (No cleaning staff on premises) for 2 rooms. Felt sorry for the girl at the front desk because EVERYONE was complaining. We walked by rooms with there doors open to try and air their rooms out and heard people complaining. If the board of health goes there, it's a wrap!!!

"Tobacco Smoke smell"
Although the room smelled like smoke and I arrived very late the manager refunded the charges for the room as a good faith gesture. Going above and beyond for this issue was very much appreciated and just the best way to keep you satisfied

"Great place for the price. Good Park and Fly option,"
super inexpensive motel considering its amenities….workout room, indoor pool, bar, breakfast etc. Great location, close to airport and with dozens of dining options nearby, Room was fine and spacious. I used the park and fly feature, leaving the motel at 4 a.m. by free shuttle. My return will be close to midnight and the shuttle will pick me up. The website says 4 a.m. to 4 p.m. for shuttle hours but they said I could call at midnight for a free pick up. Definitely recommend this motel. If you book without the park and fly option it is incredibly inexpensive. Even the park and fly option is half the price of the nearby Desmond.

"Terrible"
O would never stay there again. Room was dirty, toilet broken, sink clogged. It was supposed to be a non smoking room but had a very strong smoke smell that came out into the hall way. Not enough towels. Missing ice buckets. Breakfast closed early. The shut things down even though we were in there (could toast bagel). They stated they were closed and locked the door so none of our party could come in. They had 10 minutes left and it was Sunday. If I could give them a negative rating I definitely would.

"Disappointed"
This hotel needs a lot of work. The first room we were in had a lot of issues. The thermostat didn't work so it was either too hot or cold. The lamp had no switch to turn it on There was a phone but no cord plus other issues that needed to be fixed. We asked to change our room and were able to with no problem. The second room was better, but the faucet in the tub ran constantly. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

"Not worth your safty"
this hotel not fit for occupancy, the showers don't even work, electrical recepticals are missing covers, electrical outlets in the rooms don't work they extention cords from one outlet to another, security locks on the rooms doors are broken,

"Stay somewhere else"
Filthy bathroom, noisy room, someone tried to get in during the night. This hotel has gone downhill. Used to be a good place to stay. They redecorated the lobby, and should have spent that money on the rooms. Friendly staff.

"Decent location"
This location is decent. Had a good pool that appears clean enough. Rooms could stand to be a little cleaner though. Additionally, the building isn't that secure, there weren't any locks on the outside doors.

"Spend a little more"
The hotel was nice in the common areas but the room I had was awful. The tub was dirty and moldy. One of the te towels had black "marks" ., Some of the staff were very rude. I will not stay there again.

"Overnight stay"
We reserved a night at this Best Western for a place to stay after an October 1st event at the MVP Arena. It's not far from the airport with occasional air traffic. In a business part of town, it's a decent sized hotel. We were able to check in early and were cautious about some people hanging around in and around the slightly littered parking lot. We stayed in room 220, which was average and clean with a view of the parking lot. There is a small courtyard with a patio and tables in the center of the hotel. Nearby is the small indoor pool surrounded by several guest rooms that were unoccupied and dark, creating a sense of uneasiness and solitude. It was at least quiet and comfortable overnight. The next morning we took advantage of the continental breakfast near the lobby. There were several guests enjoying the typical carb friendly offerings like muffins, bagels, and self made waffles. It was really good and convenient. Sure Stay Best Western Albany was good enough and served our needs for simple affordable lodging convenient to our destination.

"Roll the dice"
First off, we drove right by the place looking for a Best Western, instead finding a SureStay. That's when the warning bells went off. This hotel is currently undergoing renovations. The lobby is nicely done, as is the newly installed bar/lounge adjacent to the lobby. New lighting and vending machines have been installed on the first floor (I didn't go up to the second). Breakfast was average but could have been better if waffle batter had been available to go with the already hot waffle iron, spray oil, syrup, and butter. Many rooms have been updated. I'm told the property is trying to do four rooms per week. Unfortunately, my room (#149) was not one of these. Opening to the pool area on one side, as well as the hallway on the other, we were surprised to find one wall textured such as to resemble Fred Flintstone's house. This particular wall came decorated with a piece of spaghetti that had been generously splattered there by a previous occupant, about three feet above the 720p TV. I point this out to infer the level of cleanliness of the rest of the room, which was matched by the offensive fragrance. Smells mingled together to create a rainbow of scents... BO, pet stink, mustiness, weed and litter box all rolled into one. In addition to these perks, the mattresses were equally uncomfortable, emitting groans of old age every time I rolled over that night. Many, many times. I'm telling myself the sheets and pillowcases were clean, although I purposely didn't inspect them too closely. The bathroom, had a shower and a toilet, and was sketchy at best. I cannot comment on the status of the newly (supposedly) renovated rooms. Note to management: You could deep-clean the rooms while waiting to remodel them. You could tackle, say, ten rooms week for this purpose. Just a suggestion. My wife and I are backpackers, so we are used to the discomfort of sleeping in a tent. This review doesn't come from some Karen looking to be offended by situations. This place beats a tent.

"Don't stay here"
If you want a smelly room. Night staff that is not at the desk. Iron that falls apart. Phones that don't work. Remotes for TV that don't work. Having some one trying to get into your room at 11 pm . THIS is your hotel

"Dirtiest hotel I have ever stayed in"
Towel and sheets were not changed from previous guest. Furniture was all broken. Food all over the inside of the microwave. Tables in food area were from a kindergarten class with adult chairs so you could get your knees under.
"Old"
I usually don't leave negative reviews but the pictures I saw on the internet were not what I found. The hotel had a moldy smell the carpet was old and smelly the was so small and the shower was so bad we refused to take a shower but the staff and breakfast was good
"Great service and friendly staff"
Amazing people and great staff and service I would definitely stay here again and recommend friends and family to this place enjoying staying here although I would of appreciate less commotion at nights
"ok for the price"
very dated and in need of repairs. the BW website stated full breakfast, but only a very basic continental Breakfast was offered. a microwaved croissant with a plant based sausage was offered, which wasn't very good
"Pass on by"
This appears to be a recent addition to the Best Western Chain, and is called a SureStay Plus by Best Western. The shower was filthy with mold and mildew everywhere, smashed water flies on the walls, drooping acoustic ceiling panels with an underpowered exhaust fan. The bed was of an unknown age, and my wife and I spent the night balanced on the outer edges so we would not roll into the center where little padding or support was left. The bar was open until midnight and then people moved out into the hallway, and we had to ask several groups to keep down the noise. Someone left their dog in their room to bark and scratch at 630A, which woke up the whole hall. It was a miserable time, and definitely not our usual Best Western experience. The only benefit is the location, and with the large number of hotels around, we will never go back to a SureStay hotel.
"Should be called “Poor Stay”"
I knew there was a problem when I saw the funky disco-colored lights on the outside. This place is stuck in the 1970s – it probably hasn't been cleaned since then. It's not a hotel: it's a glorified youth hostel; in fact, I've stayed at crappy hostels that were better than this place. When we arrived, we had to wait over ten minutes just for someone to show up at the front desk. When she did finally arrive, she offered no apology and seemed annoyed that we were even there. Terrible customer service! Very funky smell in the lobby and hallways. Although breakfast is provided the eating area is dark, hot, smelly and just generally depressing so we did not use it. Room itself was not too terrible but there was low water pressure in the shower. Bedsheets were rough and had a chemical smell – I slept very badly. Bathroom & shower were old and dated. Avoid at all costs.
"NEVER AGAIN"
From the time I walked in there was a smell of smoke and moth balls. The ceiling walking to the room was looking like there was a leak. The carpet has trash on it and there was loud screams and noises coming from an area in the hotel where a bunch of children were playing I guess. There was also a dog barking like crazy. The fact that the place is huge was one problem and was like going through a maze, and the other was I could not find an elevator to use as i was told to take the stairs with my luggage is just ridiculous. when I did get to my room there were gnats and a fly that it took me forever to kill and even when I thought I did I had more attacking me. the shower wall looked like blood was in the creases and above the mirror as well, along with the door. The room was stuffy with smoke and I am sure its because people were smoking all over that hotel and not just cigs! I was not comfortable with bathing in the tub so I did not. I asked the clerk for assistance and was put on hold for more than an hour as she stated she was the only person there. The television was not working and come to find out the box was disconnected. this is the 3rd best western I have had a terrible experience in within the last 6 months and to be honest it has made me consider cancelling my membership. It looks bad for the brand that these hotels are not being ran properly and especially being cleaned like they should. The only best western I love is the one in Cheyenne Wyoming & Alabama. All the others like Tulsa, Florida and New York, you guys can kick rocks!
"Don't waste your money!"
Had to book a last minute room and after reading reviews of cheaper hotels in the area we picked this one bc it was alittle more money ($120/night) and it had a pool and was close to the highway. BIG MISTAKE! The room was filthy. Carpets were stained and had dust/dirt in corners, the room smelled of mildew, bathroom tile has mold and the bathroom ceiling was sagging from water and also moldy. The pool was gross and had a film on top of the water and looked like there wasn't any chemicals in it at all! I was very unhappy I spent so much money when I could have gotten an equally disgusting room for around $50-80! When I told the hotel staff they said there was no one on site to make repairs.
"not like it used to be"
so many problems we will not go back. overall room dirty, rips in bedding, smells in rooms, not enough toilet paper, one little garbage pail for the whole room, remote missing, microwave platter missing and microwave not working, stains on carpet.
"Somewhat run down"
You get what you pay for. Our room's bathroom was in need of repair, notably the sink drain was partially clogged and had no stopper, the tub caulking was partially missing, and what remained was stained (or had mildew). The counter top was cracked, from the middle front one third of the way towards the back wall. The room itself was OK, but the rug was shabby, and there were strange external rumbling noises from time to time, most likely due to the building's aging machinery. Although breakfast is offered, it is minimal. One morning there was no yogurt or milk for the cereal, and the bananas were not fresh. When we returned from an outing on our second evening, the magnetic room keys did not work. The desk person was critical of our care of the cards, but eventually reset them, but with no apologies. Don't be fooled by the "Best Western" label; be sure to not stay. Although we were told that part of the facility had been remodelled, they omitted to replace (or install) a working lock on one of the exterior doors to the residence hallways. (The other proper doors required a valid room key for entrance, as we had been advised by the clerk when we checked in.)
"Don't let the pictures fool you"
DONT LET THE PICTURES FOOL YOU! This place is the worst hotel I have ever stayed at. If I could give it a 0 I would. Smells like old cigarettes, dirty, rundown. Didn't feel safe at all. Slept in all my clothes because I just felt like bugs were crawling all over me. The towels In the bathroom were stained and ripped and looked used. The breakfast was non existent. The only good was the location to the airport. The furniture was outdated and had to call down to the front desk for the TV remote. I could go on and on about it, just because it looks nice in the pictures. Don't stay here, maybe if it's the only option but that's a BIG MAYBE!
"Dirty and unkept"
This was our stay, park and fly choice hotel for the past several years, but it has truly gone down hill. It is dirty, smells bad and has broken toilet seats. They did have a shuttle service to and from the airport and their location is really close to the airport but that would be the only reason to stay here.
"Smelly and Dirty Rooms"
I had the misfortune of staying at this hotel because I did not read the reviews ahead of time. Here are a few reasons as to why I rated it a 1 out of 5: 1. Front desk staff man their station in t-shirt and jeans. 2. First room (149) smelled intensely of marijuana. 3. Second room (259) had a hole in the wall the size of first, there was dried up blood below the hole, and the door knob to the bathroom was falling off. I grabbed a screwdriver from my car and fixed the door knob to the bathroom. 4. The hallways were littered with damaged lights either out or dangling from the walls, sections of carpet coming up, and the hallways and stairs had the intense marijuana smell. 5. The swimming pool had so much chlorine in it that it was cloudy. 6. Every soda machine in the I can honestly say that this was one of the worst hotels that I have stayed at in the past 10 years.
"Great potential but..."
The hotel is well located, the staff we met was friendly and helpful and the facilities have a lot of potential. Nice pool, outdoor courtyard, beautiful hotel entrance. However, the room 2 double bed that was given to us in the first place was unacceptable. Fishy smell in room and in the air conditioning, unhooked bed back, dirty shower and no TV controller. For the first time in my life I had to ask for a change of room and the staff accommodated my request without any problem. On floor 1, there was always a small suspicious smell. The hotel needs a little update and is being renovated everywhere so not always visually nice and clean. For breakfast, it was very good. Lots of choices and the lady present was very friendly. The breakfast room was very clean. The rooms # 2 given were OK with a view on the pool.
"Horrendous"
Calling corporate in the morning. One of the worst hotels I've ever stayed in. The first room I was put in reeked of mildew and sewage and the carpet was soaked. Now this room smells of vomit and old food. All hotels that CLC will pay for are booked. I'm stuck here until Friday. At least sleeping in my car, there's fresh air... This place should be bulldozed to the ground.
"Comfortable beds, some amenities, but badly needs thorough renovation"
Quick summary: a comfortable sleep, but the furniture is very beat up, the bathroom fan sounds like a clattery egg beater, etc. and etc. The staff is friendly and professional, but this hotel needs A LOT of renovation - better think about putting the money into a new building. Stay somewhere else unless you really have no alternative. We were travelling through the area, on a road trip to visit family. We stayed one night in room 138, which has two very comfortable queen beds and pillows. Bed and bath linens all clean and fresh, although the bath towels look like they come from a variety of hotels in their mixed designs. Many of the amenities one expects from a BW-related property: microwave, fridge (nice separate freezer compartment on this one), coffee/tea maker, iron/board, flat screen TV (no printed guide - you have to scroll through), good work desk and comfy chair. Chest of two drawers. Also: there was a small table and two chairs, perhaps for in-room dining. There were a couple of outlets to plug in your devices at the base of the lamp on the desk, but none on the nightstand. The wall plug near the nightstand was not adequate - my plug in the one available socket kept falling out. No clock or radio anywhere I could see - I relied on the smartphone. Good HVAC except for the bathroom (see below,) except a bit noisy. Complimentary wifi works well, but no password required, i.e. unsecure network. Tub/shower combo in the bathroom, and good stone-top vanity that you can spread out on. Good attempt at toiletries, but housekeeping left one bottle of conditioner, two body lotions, no shampoo. No plastic cups for the bathroom, only paper coffee cups available. There was no stopper for the tub if you wanted a bath (rather than shower.) A maintenance person was nice enough to get one from Home Depot or somewhere, but it needed a good twist in, not just a rubber stopper that might have fixed the problem. (I figured out how to jury rig a wet facecloth and plastic bag to stop up the tub.) MORE ANNOYING, the vent comes on automatically when the light is turned on, and sounds like a rusty, rattling eggbeater, magnified 5 times. While I understand why they have auto-vents, this one gives you a headache while just putting on your makeup or shaving, or wakes your partner in the middle of the night if you need the toilet. Housekeeping is pretty good, but the place is just old. The carpet badly needs replacement; the furniture is very dinged up. There is no closed-in closet -- just an open rack for hanging. Personally, I'd prefer things under cover - I just don't like my things out in the open. Wifi works well, but does not need a password. 'Does not give a good sense of security. Speaking of security, our room was at the far end of the building, and we were told that the back door might be more convenient. It was, but it did not require any kind of key card access -- anyone could just open the door and walk in. 'Not a fan of the security here. There is a pool, but we did not use it - just travelling through. We usually appreciate the complimentary breakfast at BW properties, However, we did not stay for it here. Partly, the general state of the hotel did not give us a good feeling about the place - maybe it was better than we expected. Mostly, it was that the hotel was hosting a large wedding the following day, and we were cautious about crowds during COVID times in the breakfast room. To put all of this in context: we usually book BW properties on our various road trips, and have some of the highest ranking in the BW loyalty program. Our experiences with SureStay properties have generally not been great, and this one confirmed that we will avoid them in the future. Feel free to compare this review with my other reviews where we were generally very happy with BW properties, including on this recent road trip. I should say that all the staff were friendly and professional, and seemed to be trying hard. I know enough about various businesses that I feel badly about leaving a poor review in challenging times, but really - avoid this property.
"More than likely our last time here."
We live about 90 miles from the Albany Airport in Vermont. It is generally our go to airport, since most places we visit are served by Southwest. We have been staying here for at least 15 years, usually coming the night before a flight, and just staying one night. It has seen its ups and downs, but it is definitely down now. I will say the young lady who picked us up at the airport was very pleasant. As if to set the stage for things, the front door would not open for us. We finally got in and were met with strong chemical odors, most likely industrial glue. It was so strong, my wife went back outside to wait. We were given a first floor room way down in the back. Outside the room were 3 vending machines, none of them worked. There were workmen everywhere. I understand that hotels need constant attention, but it just seemed a bit excessive. The hallways outside our room were like ovens. Our room had A/C but it seemed as if the halls did not. The entire place smelled, sort of like a mixture of urine, smoke, stale food, and who knows what else, just very unpleasant to put it mildly. The breakfast is not what it used to be, Again, I get that the last two years have been challenging for the hospitality industry, but there are standards. I was in the hall outside our room, getting ice, when a gentleman walked into our room, I asked what was going on. We had both been assigned the same room. It was just one thing after another. Hopefully some good management can bring this place back to being a decent place to stay.

"HORRIBLE PLACE"
Staff rude, not pleasant. No air condition, no ice bucket, no garbage cans, sink would not drain. Sheets were dirty, room smelled of stale smoke! Pillow cases were filthy. Asked for ice bucket, waited over 45 minutes for them to bring it to us. Pool was green and cloudy. The entire place was filthy, smelled awful. Gagged us. No security. 6 doors and all open for anyone to come in. Tried to complain and staff hung up on us. Phone in room was dismantled and only had numbers. No template or anything. Asked for refund and they refused!!!!! NEVER STAY HERE!!! Place needs to shut down!!

"stay was OK"
Room was OK. Not as nice as it used to be. Run down in appearance. Close to airport which is why we chose the hotel. Did park, stay, and fly. Reasonable cost I would recommend but it's by far great for one night and then off on your trip

"Worst Best Western I've been to"
No towels in the room, no smoke detector, beds were used after housekeeping had finished cleaning the room. The breakfast provided was meager at best. The mattress was a spring mattress, you could tell the moment you sat on it, you could feel the metal frame that goes around the edge of the bed as well as the lumpiness due to wear on the springs. It is either the cheapest mattress or is well past its useful life. I will be avoiding this particular property in the future.

"Awful. Left after 10 minutes."
This was the first time we have ever checked into a hotel and asked for a refund 10 minutes later. The hotel is truly awful and run down beyond repair. We went in door 5 on the backside of the building. Tons of trash and unsafe. Once we arrived to our room it was really no better. A/C did not work, large brown stains on the ceiling, part of the bathroom door was missing, and moths were flying around the room. I picked up the phone to call the front desk but it didn't work. They offered to show us the room next door which was no better. We went down the street and paid more but could not have been happier to do so. Christine at the front desk was helpful and refunded us the night but this hotel is the worst we have seen.

"Don't waste your money"
A total dump - dirty, a/c didn't work, trash outside the building, no locks on outside doors. After seeing two rooms, left for another hotel. Only thing positive is the location, convenient to the airport.
"Nice pillows, otherwise Depressing"
Very large, sprawling motel. Way past its prime. Dirty corridors. Worn rugs. Acrid smell. Mismatched decor. Crowded breakfast area. Very hot water and three large puffy pillows were positives. Pet-friendly but otherwise to be avoided.
"Nice staff, great breakfast, dirty room"
The room was very dirty (bathtub had all kinds of dirty stains, sink had toothpaste remains from previous guests, carpet felt humid and damp, A/C wasn't working) pool water was cloudy/green and closed without warning upon check in. Great breakfast though.
"Unsafe, dirty, and no one around"
This was the proverbial straw that broke the camel's back: we've been Best Western Rewards members for years, staying at some great places (Devils Tower, Badlands). I think the pandemic didn't help whatever in fortunate leadership trajectory BW was on because we've had rotten luck (Omaha, now Albany) in recent months. Our room in Albany had a nearly unusable shower, evidenced in photos attached. The night manager entirely stepped out, which was a little concerning given that there were some unsavory characters & prostitutes in the building and no drinkable water, this after we asked to be moved because our room had no latch. Yeesh.
"Stay Away!"
We booked 2 rooms at this hotel in July 2022 while attending a graduation ceremony of a family member. We were charged $112 per night. Reviews and pictures on Tripadvisor seemed nice. In reality the information was misleading, the hotel is extremely over priced at $112. It is located in a ghetto area, the crowd is questionable, sheets were UNWASHED with stains, pillows are piles of clumps from being old and overused, dirty floor, disgusting cigarette smell in non-smoking room. The degree of how much the hotel is run down and unmaintained is shown in a bathroom which is absolutely disgusting with stained tub, stained ceiling, toilet smelling like urinal, obviously not cleaned for days/weeks. Questionable red stains on the sofa, TV did not work, old and loud AC, no sound proofing between swimming pool and room. We stayed in 4 other hotels at a $120-140 price range right before this, which were hundred times better. This hotel is a disgrace.
"Worse hotel EVER"
This place was awful rude staff, smell of urine everywhere, pool so dirty you dont dare get in.........no air conditioning, no tvs in some rooms and if there is like mine no remote and only one channel. Complained twice and they could care less I cannot believe another human would treat someone like these people treated us. Was not offered a refund or anything its basically take it or leave it I was pissed to say the least I am a diamond card holder and corporate has heard from me twice still no response but I am considering better business bureau this place should not be open.....people rolling their personal grills to the courtyard to BBQ and then drinking and doing drugs right in the parking lot STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE I had my grandson for a football camp and to pay 120 bucks and get this I have been in better 35 dollar a night s#$$ holes.....
"Not what it used to be!"
Breakfast not at all good. Very little choice. Outside not very well maintained. Still doing renovations since last stay in 2019. Has gone down hill since than. Can't say I'd recommend it. Consider else where
"DISGUSTING beyond belief"
This place looks NOTHING like the pictures of a fresh and clean hotel. There was a horrific odor covered up by a can of Febrez, cold wet dog urine on the floor (which we found by walking through it), hair and stains all over the bed sheets… RUN, do not walk, past this listing. We left immediately and were refunded by Expedia, immediately.
"Find somewhere else"
For 13 years I've stayed at this hotel, numerous times a year. You get what you pay for.. It's a cheaper hotel at a great location. This time however will be the last time I stay at this location. I understand renovations need to be made which involves some minor inconveniences, but I draw the line at dried food left on the curtains from the last visitor, stained towels, stained bed sheets, food left in the refrigerator. I disinfected everything with Lysol wipes then hung the do not disturb sign on the door for the duration of our stay. The so called “hot breakfast” what a joke. Waffles, that's the hot breakfast? What happened to the buffet style chafing dish that had egg, a meat and home fries? Not to mention at 7:00 am on Monday June 27, no plates. You got to be f'ing kinding me. A place that has a plaque behind the desk, stating “best customer service 2 years”. They must have made that themselves.
"You get what you paid for!"
When I receive my hotel keys to go in the room, the hair dryer missing, TWO light bulbs missing from the nightstand, stain on the bathroom mirror and toilet bowl, water stain on the ceiling, and the A/C was not making the room cool enough. Went to the front desk and told them about the hair dryer missing and the two bulbs and what time room service will clean up the room. They said we will replace it and room service will clean the room between 8:00am to 4:00 pm. Also ask for the "DND" doorknob tag that on the back "please make up room" Close to 6:00 pm I got a knock on the door. It was "room service" I just told him to replace bathroom towels and take the garbage. Unbelievable. As for breakfast, let just say my family was ok with breakfast. The only breakfast that I had was Orange and Apple juice. Oh, also that Saturday, there was a "party" at one of the halls that was rented, and the gentlemen ask for a fan because it was too hot in there. There was no fan. What type of hotel is this?
"Inexpensive, one nighter"
This place barely meets the minimum standards that I would expect from a Best Weatern property. It is an old, recycled motel. It is an inexpensive place for a one night layover. The property is very dated. It does feature an indoor pool. It is close to the airport. The breakfast was pathetic.
"You pay for what you get"
Yes, this place is pretty cheap. But don't expect much for that. One bed frame was broken, shower piping was exposed in the wall, and no tissues or extra roll of toilet paper were in my room. Room was clean, but that's about it. The pool area seemed clean, and if all you're planning on doing is sleeping here and maybe swimming for an hour or two, it could be good enough for a cheap stay.
"Not a great place to stay!"
The walls need a much needed paint job in the bathroom, I had a cold shower in the morning?? I asked the front desk if I could get some refund since I hate cold showers and she said no. No one else complained so I guess it didn't happen? Not happy and will not stay here again.
"Best Western MOTEL"
PLEASE DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL, sorry but more like a MOTEL. Room, bathroom, corridor, outside garden NOT CLEAN Noisy Food not good muffins split in half not clean environment How can Best Western have this facility in theyr choices, disgraceful
"A Good Value but Needs a Facelift"
I recently traveled to the area for my daughters graduation and needed a place for a couple of nights without breaking the bank. I found for the money this was a very decent value. Staff was excellent and friendly. Rooms were clean and updated. The outside of the property needs some sprucing up and I hope they would expand on the breakfast in the future so it's more than just a carb fest. Overall was mostly satisfied with my stay there.
"Worst Western"
We stay at Best Western everywhere we go. This one was VERY disappointing. The woman checking us in was not a happy person. I came in with a walker and she didn't even inquire if I needed an accessible room or any accommodations. Came into the room to find 4 squares of toilet paper left on the roll. There was a pubic hair next to the faucet, and a lot of dirt /dust built up all around the sink/counter. Dirty mirror, dirty TV Cobwebs and debris on floor under sink. Stained bathtub. Not the standard BW beds, bedding or pillows that are the biggest reason we are loyal members. There are coffee 'supplies', but no coffee maker. No facial tissue Only one washcloth, two hand towels, two bath towels - all cheap and scratchy. Two conditioners, one shampoo? We are canceling our reservation for the night before our flight home and finding another hotel.
"STAY AWAY"
This hotel should be closed. Everything is worn out in the room, Not that dirty but holes in wall and people smoking everywhere, the room is stinks of marijuana..Spend the $40 dollars more and get an other hotel. I should have sleep in my car.
"This Place Needs Management"
We arrived in a room that sleeps 4 people and we only had 1 set of towels and there was 2 of us. There was coffee but no cups and no sugar or any other condiments. 2 of the 3 lamps were not in working order. The toilet paper roll was empty upon arrival. We had to change the roll ourself. The room smelled of cigarette smoke. Holes in the wall and ceiling was repaired in several places. I even felt the need to check for bed bugs, but thankfully there was no sign of any. I can get passed the needed repairs but the other stuff was just rediculous. Hallway carpets are in need of a good cleaning. I own a motel and I would be embarrased to have rooms like that. The people that run this location need to take more pride in the facility! We will never stay at this location again!!
"In need of renovations"
I appreciate the staff for remaining professional and kind even in the face of guests asking for refunds. But it's completely understandable why they wanted to leave. In both room 187 and later 283 we had stained musty smelling towels, pillows, linens, and carpets. Fowl smell when using the heater. Terrible uneven mattresses. Nothing left for breakfast (but there was a large group of kids for a sports tournament that weekend too). Idk if it was just our rooms 187 & 283, but the bathtubs looked terrible. We just stayed at a best western in Illinois which was amazing! This one has potential for being in a super convenient area, but needs some serious renovations. Thank you again to the staff who kept their cool.
"DONT COME HERE"
None of our outlets worked. All of the staff was very very rude. I had one walk right into me while I was trying to carry my heavy luggage out to the car. Everything was dirty. The room reaked like fabulouso it gave me a headache how bad the smell was. They charge $20 a night for pets and have to pay $150 deposit. It is a sh!t hole! DO NOT GO!
"What a dump"
This hotel is cheap and fills a desperate need. It allows pets and only charges $25.00 extra. This aspect is great because most of the so called pet friendly hotels charge $50+. However we won't be back. The shower is awful! You can't pull the water flow diverter so you get water coming out of the shower head AND the bath spout with cold coming out of one and lukewarm or hot out of the other. The entire hotel is worn and frayed, the sheets are thin and scratchy, as are the towels, and the place needs a good scrubbing, The hotel is on par with the Red Roof Inn next door so you can imagine how pathetic it is.
"Worst stay ever"
Had to be the worst stay ever in that Best Western chain. Bathroom was full of mold and mildew. The breakfast was awful. Staff didn't seem to care one bit about anything I reported to the.i give them a huge thumbs down.

"Horrible I wish I could give no stars"
I didn't even sleep here. The room was so dirty there was mold in the bathroom, and the whole bathroom was just filthy. Dirty sheets. (I have multiple pictures). When I went to the front desk to express my concern and I didn't feel comfortable staying the manager came and was very rude took my key cards and refused to refund me. He told me “ I can't check you out till tomorrow and call your bank if you have a problem, your local you didn't need a hotel anyways” I filed a dispute with my bank and I'm posting the pictures on yelp!
"Good Stay"
I have stayed here frequently and have always been happy with the accommodation and service. The staff is pleasant and helpful. The location is very convenient to the airport, northern New York state and New England.
"Stay away"
This was a horrible stay. Read the reviews. Stay away. The reviews are accurate and when issues are brought to management they seem surprised. Wow, really? At least there were no bed bugs but we only slept on top of the bed.
"Warning: Check your credit card statement IMMEDIATELY after checking out"
The hotel was somewhat rundown: frayed carpets, broken lock on the exterior door, etc. The workout room was perpetually out of order the whole time we were there. But the most upsetting thing is they charged us an extra $100 in addition to the bill we paid in full. I noticed this on the credit card statement about a month after checking out. It was just an extra $100 withdrawn the same day as the legitimate payment. No explanation given. No response from the hotel when I contacted them. Buyer beware. Stay somewhere else. I personally will never stay at this establishment again.
"Dank Dingy Dirty, bring a hazmat suit or bedding and cleaning supplies!"
When you walk in the carpet is torn/worn. The smell of cigarette in their “non smoking area” is overwhelming. The hotel is in fact non smoking yet teaks of smoking. The bedding is worn and dirty with “supposed cleaned bedding”. Sink was leaking all over the floor and shower has mold all over the walls! Stains and spills over the carpets and beds and pillows. The toilet is filthy and the seat was painted to look new! The toilet runs all night long and overflows when flushing it. Dirty, Dirty Dirty, if I wasn't committed to the three night stay we would have left! The owner and general manager keeps apologizing but refused to even knock off 15$. The breakfast has spoiled milk and muffins that are cut in half and wrapped under who knows what conditions, considering the rooms. The only good item that I can say is that they are really sorry and repeat those words when asked about problems, like can I have some fresh milk or clean sheets or a remote control that makes the tv work… sorry!
"Excellent stay at best western"
Staff was incredible. Very clean and hospitable staff. Excellent service. Very highly recommend and will definitely stay again. And recommend. Weather was terrible with ice storm and staff made sure we were well taken care of. Both parking and all assistance.
"Terrible experience"
Hotel canceled reservation with less than 24 hours notice saying hotel would be closed that day. no further details provided. they did not respond to my emails and no customer service open at 9 AM Eastern time, I was forced to scramble for a new hotel while on way to destination.
"Needs to improve"
I've stayed here annually for several years to attend an event in December. The place is not be kept up. The exterior door nearest to my room 122 had no lock; anyone could come in. The bathroom was in poor condition. Excessive mould; the faucet would detach from the wall when I used the diverter for the shower. The diverter didn't divert well. The mount for the hair dryer was partly detached from the wall. The self-serve breakfast was minmal and could have been better, even with staying in pandemic guidelines. The housecleaning staff did not visit daily, which may be pandemic related, but I would have like to been told about it. The hotel feels poorly kept; dingy.
"Not a Sure stay at all"
Stayed here 12/1-12/5 2021 for a gaming convention. Terrible experience with the hotel. 1) Hotel had booked the ballroom for our convention to another larger group even though we had confirmed two years ago (and have been here for several years). We found out only two days before the convention. Owner could have cared less. We wound up being stuffed into two small meeting rooms 2) The hotel is on a rapid decline - paint coming off stuff, dripping faucet in tub, mysterious wet spot in carpet in front of my bathroom which never went away, room HVAC unit's just ran heat constantly no matter the temp Setting - would not shut off. Do not recommend. This place is going downhill fast
"Albany Best Western"
Nice place, has a pool and clean rooms. Is in great location! On a main street of Albany near shopping, bars, and restaurants. Friendly staff, gave me spoons for my ice cream when it was late at night. Great value! Breakfast is fair, hot coffee, juice, toast, and yogurt.
"Wow! Even breakfast."
A great hotel. We stayed for 30 days. Staff was really nice. Rooms were a decent size, and common areas were ample. The swimming pool was used by many guests, and a good number of guest rooms faced onto the pool. There is an airport shuttle to Albany Airport. Overall, it is an excellent hotel.
"Good buy for the buck"
still offering free breakfast (rare these days in this price range) and airport shuttle, desk staff and housekeeping are helpful, friendly and courteous, bed is comfortable, desk well lit. room has desk chair as well as comfortable sofa.
"This gives Best Western a bad name"
On check in, was told best room is poolside, we would have our own entrance to pool. Failed to tell us there would be load parties 2 of our 5 nights. Small room, with room connecting doors on each side. So 4 doorways, made for for tight furniture placement. Ac&bath fan so loud you could not hear TV. Smell of musty/dirt and marijuana in rooms and hallway.

"Stay away!"
This was the dirtiest room I have ever experienced in my life! I have stayed in literally thousands of hotel rooms and never had my feet turn black from walking on the carpet. This is while they are telling us that the rooms are being sanitized due to Covid-19,The door was broken and barely opened and closed, it would only open by jerking hard on the handle and had to be slammed hard to close. The hotel was sold out, so no other room was available. There were no vacancies anywhere nearby, so we slept there, on an antient, creaky mattress, most uncomfortable we have ever experienced, we did not sleep well. No ice machine in the hotel worked. The locks on the exterior doors were broken, anyone could randomly wander into the building. When checking out, I told the person working at the front desk how dirty the carpet was, he rolled his eyes and said he'd "make a note of it". That's it, he didn't say anything else.
"HORRIBLE "
The rate was good and the receptionist was good but that's about it. The entry had a weird smell and wasn't that clean! We should have left before we checked in but it was 9:30 p.m. and we were tired from traveling. The outside of motel dimly lit . The back parking lot was a mess(tires etc)! The back door was unlocked/broken! We had reserved 3 rooms. The back of the desk chair was all crumbly. The white sheets had dark pieces of I don't know what (the desk chair crumbles, dead bugs, ?) One room smelled so bad of MARIJUANA that we asked for a new room. The new room had live and dead bugs crawling around. Our kids were crying because of all the crap going on and they were SCARED. We went to front desk and said we couldn't stay here. She said ok and that we wouldn't be charged because night audit hadn't been done yet. YA RIGHT! We have been charged for all 3 rooms for the two nights we were booked to stay there. HASSLES! Front desk people are nice enough but General Manager nor the Accouting Dept. will call you back. Voicemail is full! THIS PLACE IS A JOKE!
"Share stay Albany airport"
Both Emir and Bob went beyond expectations to assist us. We needed a ride to pick up our rental car and Emit helped us even though he was about to leave for the eveniing. Bob gave us a ride to the train station on our departure even though that isn't a service they ordinarily offer.
"Great for the price."
Great stop for the price. The room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was extremely basic but in good shape. No issues with noise and the room temperature was comfortable. Overall, I would stay there again.
"Dirty, smelly"
The whole hotel smelled like stale cigarettes. My comforter was filthy and my 10 year old asked me if there was blood on the curtains. No water coming out of the shower. Didn't sleep because I was so grossed out. Tried to leave and get another hotel, but everything in the area was already booked.
"cancelling"
Most hotels give you until 4pm to cancel a reservation. It seems Best Western doesn't so I lost my money. I am a member of them but I will never use that franchise again. There are too many other hotel chains to choose from.
"Good Value & Convenient"
The hotel is a bit dated but I must say the beds and pillows were very comfortable. Our room was very clean. The owner and staff really try to make things right. They were so very helpful and kind. Our shuttle was a bit late and the owner made sure we had a ride to the airport so we wouldn't miss our flight. When my husband returned the shuttle was waiting for him. Great service! Good location & value.
"Terrible experience, felt unsafe and very uncomfortable."
I want to share feedback about my recent one night stay at your hotel on Sat, 9/11/21. I arrived late around 12:30am and was assigned to room 218. The room itself was clean and comfortable, however the guests in Room 219 (directly across the hall) were obnoxiously loud which prevented me from sleeping. They were yelling, arguing and partying most of the night. After less than 3 hours of sleep, I woke up to get breakfast and came back to witness 4 Colonie police officers knocking on room 219 door to investigate the situation. I heard one male officer yelling obscenities at someone in the room to "Wake up and get the fu*k out of bed." Prior to check-out I reported my bad experience to Elsa at the front desk. She told me that she would share my feedback and see if there's anything that could be done. I left a voice message with management and sent an email but never heard back from anyone. Bottom line, this situation made me feel unsafe, uncomfortable and regret the decision to stay at this property.
"A Dump"
I have stayed at Best Westerns before The desk need to be refinished, the bathroom door has holes in the back and scratches. Pillows were tiny towels small. The nearest door from the parking lot to my room was not secure The exercise room was not open (they claim because of Covid yet the pool was) breakfast was very limited and coffee was awful
"STAY AWAT"
Clean the parking lot it is full of litter, weeds growing up all around the front of the building. Grass not maintained or even cut. Honestly, it appeared to be a run-down hotel ready to go out of business. Doors to the other entrances were not locked one of them had a hole where the lock should be in. Being a retired police officer and observing the in and outside of the building, it is only a matter of time before a problem occurs at that location. Having a pet-friendly room and paying 40 dollars for two nights the carpet odor was horrendous. Most of you updated BW hotels now have laminate floors that can be cleaned.I took the dog out at 1 am and there were two people sleeping in a car in the parking lot, the next morning I saw them from an unlocked side door use the bathroom and went for the free breakfast. The bathroom fixtures did not adhere to the fixtures and moved around, including the toilet seat. This was absolutely the worst Best Western we have ever stayed in.
"Not a great experience"
Was pretty run down. Sheets were stained, cat food all over the floor, cat(?) vomit on chair, stained bathtub, waffle iron broken, exercise room out of service, first room smelled too bad to stay in, hotel outer doors broken with no locks. Staff was friendly and accommodating.
"Decent"
The hotel was ok but nothing special. The guest lobby's carpet looked dirty but the rooms were clean. I didn't have hot water the first day of my stay. Maintenance fixed the problem. I think it was overpriced for the quality it provided.
"Dirty, Unsafe Hotel."
My wife, toddler and I checked in at 11 pm after 6 hours of driving. I had to pull hotel info out of the front desk rep. I found the side door broken and did not lock so there was a security issue. The stairwell had an odor and plaster on the carpet from holes in the wall all along the stairs. It had not been attended to in awhile. The tub had dirt in it. The ice and vending machines closest to the room were broken. There was a working vending machine further down the hall. It was too late to address the issues and the hotel was sold out so changing hotels was out of the question. The breakfast did not offer any protein or low carb options. The pool floor was very slippery and others commented falling. They attempted to put an old, dirty indoor rug at the entrance to the pool gate. The pool had a disturbing amount of hair clumps floating in it. The check out rep did not ask about my stay, just took my key. I was in a rush anyways with my toddler in the car so I don't know if I would have had time to address them. We had looked at a $89 rate Hampton Inn but decided the Sure Stay's $107 rate because of the pool. I would have picked the other hotel.
"Go Elsewhere"
I usually don't take the time to write reviews, but could not let this one go by without a review. My husband and I traveled to Albany for a medical appointment. Needless to say, we did not feel overly safe and will not stay at this hotel again. Pro- the gentleman at the front desk worked to get us a king room on the 1st floor as there are no elevators. Con- Parking lots are a mess and need to be cleaned up. No elevators. Doors leading into the building are not secured. Entry ways leading to stair wells are not clean. A full sheet was put on a king bed. Pillows were extremely small. Pink stains on sink and tub. Hair was left in tub. No fire extinguisher or fire hose in some of the cases. Waffle iron was not working for breakfast.
"Last resort"
Recent reviews are pretty spot on. Only reason we stayed here is it was only hotel under $200 within 1.5 hours of Baseball Hall of Fame that was pet friendly and had an indoor pool. Check in was quick, beds were ok and breakfast area was good (with exception of waffle maker being broken) The hotel grounds are scary. It is not well lit at night, trash littered everywhere and the landscaping is not kept up. The hallways are dirty and there were 2 spots right by our door where the carpet was completely missing. The carpets in the room were nasty and there looked to be a huge hole in the wall where drywall was missing and they hastily pulled the wallpaper over it to disguise. One of the lowest quality hotels we've ever stayed in. Wouldn't recommend to anyone unless you were desperate for a cheap one night stay.
"Terrible Disappointment"
Upon arrival, we were told that there was no elevator, and that there were no rooms available on the first floor. The manager showed us the staircase, which was dirty and the room. A guests who had just checked in complained that there was hair on the towel and the sheet and blood on the blanket. Another person was complaining of flies in the room and yellow-colored water formally faucets. The staff was very nice and offered to refund our payment, and because we had paid with Américan Airlines miles,, it took us over an hour to accomplish this. We hadnt looked at reviews before we booked, and should have realized that a hotel with such a low rate, was going to have issues, but these were more than we could tolerate. We wanted a hotel near the NYS Thruway since we were en route to another destination, and thought this would be satisfactory.
"Messy and broken"
I arrived after hiking around the area all day and didn't expect anything amazing or luxury, I use hotel rooms to sleep and that's it. I barely could sleep, the pillows were smaller than throw pillows, and the bed was uncomfortable beyond belief. There looked to be a party thrown before my stay in the room and there were remnants of it all over the room. Shower barely worked, shower curtain was barely holding on, the tub spout was detached completely from the wall, and the actual handle only allowed for SUPER hot or cold, so the mixer needed to be replaced.
"Try somewhere else!"
I booked the hotel through one of the in line booking services. It was presented as a 3 star hotel. When I arrived at the hotel they would not honor the price quoted, their price was $30 more and the booking company's card had been declined. After much Negotiation with the booking company and the only other available room in the area being $200 a night more, I had to pay the hotel's “asking” price or sleep in the car. They said they were completely booked for the night but they had one room that was “out of service” as they were trying to get the smoking smell (from a previous guest) out of the room they could offer me. They showed me the room before I took it. While I was checking in, there was another gentleman checking in. He also had a problem with his reservation. The person checking him in told “no problem”. They had a room for him. When I got into the room, there was only one light in the room working. I called the front desk and was told that a guy was coming in for another similar problem at 8 pm ( about 2 hours later) and he would fix it. This guy showed up at 8:30 and “fixed” the problem (the breaker needed to be reset). About 10 pm the lights were out again. A call to the front desk got that fixed. The next morning the TV, which had worked the entire evening before, would not turn on (tried the remote snd the set itself). When I went to leave, I opened the door to the refrigerator and the bottom was covered with water which quickly rolled out onto the floor. As a little aside I also found someone else's food in the freezer portion of the refrigerator and a pill on the floor next to the bed.
"Inattention to detial"
Stayed here due to the fact i normally use Best Western when traveling. Upon checking into this hotel i noticed it was not up to Best western standards. The rear parking lot is over grown with weeds. Sidewalks have rip marks. The rear doors can be pulled open posing a security risk. The hallways in the stairwells where not vacuumed. You could see a room full of matresses on the outside. The room was clean for the most part. However no trash can, ice buck had no liner, no alarm clock, no telephone. Shampoo bottle was empty. One positive thing staff was very friendly and helpful.
"Dirt and Pot"
Parking lot was scary....no landscape at all, trash and weeds everywhere. Entrance door 2 literally had a hole where the lock was supposed to be. In the hall leading to and upon entering our room all you could smell is POT. Overwhelming. One bed was hard as a rock, the other had an old concaved mattress. On the nightstand there was a power port with plugs and usb, but the other end was plugged into outlet behind the mattress so big fire hazard. I loved the opposite door into pool deck, and the pool area was a great idea..... but yet again......overwhelming smell of pot. 2 lamps didn't work in the room as well as the remote didn't control the TV. Left for the day Friday and upon return, our room was overrun with pot smell. 6 year old nephew was actually coughing. Just dingy, and smelly. It has the structural potential to be a great hotel...but it needs a lot of work.
"Awful"
The mattresses are old. The bathtub's finish is chipping. The room smells musty. No outlets between the two queen beds for my CPAP machine. The hallway reeks of cigarette smoke. The popcorn ceiling is stained from a past leak. If we didn't check in so late I would move (maybe run) to another hotel. And... my 16yo just asked me to leave for another hotel and he offered to pay for it. It's that bad!
"Good overall. Clean and friendly, but a bit dated."
Good value overall for the area, but it's not as modern or up-to-date as some others I've been to. It was probably a really nice place 50 years ago, and the staff certainly makes the effort. But it seems like the property is in need of some maintenance and rehab. For the price I'd stay there again, but don't expect a modern ambience.
"Cheap motel to rough out a stay"
Cheap and get what you paid for. Stains on the celling and items in the room. What I call a rough it out without the wife for a night hotel. Also they had a very loud wedding going on the first night and police was called.
"Pictures do not accurately depict hotel"
Pool area disgusting. Stains all over the bed spread. Just disgusting. Not tiny stains either, huge blood stains and I think dirt, not sure. Light in bathroom when out last night there. Piece of drop ceiling fell on my head while I was showering. Shower had two temps. Hells gate or the arctic. Room wasn't cleaned once in three days, not even an offer of fresh towels. Saying they need an update is an understatement.
"Don't waste your money"
I give this hotel less than 1 star. The staff was friendly however the business itself needs to be ashamed. This hotel was so dirty from the room to the pool area. The air conditioner was so loud we could not sleep. The bed was hard and uncomfortable. The room smelled like smoke and they claim to be a non smoking hotel. The doors were gross. The bathroom was so small it was hard to shut the door.
"Not worth the savings. We didn't feel comfortable or safe staying."
We decided to give Best Western a shot after some friends shared how much they loved it for traveling with young athletes. Check-in, great. We get to our room and the carpet is soaked from a leaking air conditioner. Again the lady at the front desk is great and switches our room. The kids were excited they had 20-30 minutes to swim before we had to be somewhere and they do a quick change and hop into the pool. No pool towels because of covid restrictions (understandable) but there's also no one available to bring them down. The kids had to use the room towels. OK - no biggs. Tried to heat up food and the microwave wouldn't turn on - see photo of the outlet. We'll eat later. No hairdryer, broken mirror, dirty bathroom. I decide that I'll find another hotel for tomorrow night and we head out to our sporting event. We come back and there's no lock on the exit door that is 20 feet(?) from our room. Packed up and checked out while the owner yelled at me - no freebies because my kids used the pool. OK cool - I'll never cheat on Marriott again.
"Beware - really bad condition and dirty"
I was looking for a one night stay in Albany during a weekend trip. I wanted to keep the rate under $125 and I just needed a place to sleep. This place was in such poor condition and so dirty that I couldn't even stay. I checked in and checked out within the hour. If I looked at the bed sheets and bathroom earlier, I would have left sooner. I was afraid to spent the night on that bed with the various stains and lack of a actual full sized bed pillow. The hand rail in the shower was rusted and hanging off the wall. The furniture was a broken up mess. The rest of the building is in horrible disrepair. How this place is associated with any brand is beyond me - even Best Western.
"Gross"
This was the most disgusting place I have EVER stayed at. Something you see or hear about on the news or tv. It all came to real life. There was feces on the ceiling, the beds were not neatly made, the room smelled sooo bad. The noise of the children from the pool was unbelievable. There were easily over 100 people in the dirty pool. A man smoking a crack pipe sitting on the chair outside my room window. The Ice machine had running water in it where you had to take your hand and scoop the ice out of the water. Can you imagine how many hands were in that? Breakfast ended at 9am so I have no idea what was there because it was gone by 9:05am. This place is nasty . All entrances are open all night.
"Small, clean and friendly staff"
We were late in checking in so we didn't get to use the pool, but it seemed like all the families there made good use of it. Food is conveniently located and we got clean sheets and pillows. Nice bar on the way in right be check in
"Needs work"
Our room was clean, but kind of run down. The pool area was gross. Never cleaned our entire time there, and no pool towels. Parking lot had garbage in it. Breakfast was fine. Bagels, muffins, toast, etc. I reported a leaking tub faucet and it was not repaired while we were there. The photos are much nicer than the property.
"Needs Updated"
the rooms we stayed in had a terrible odor upon opening the door, trash in and cigarette butts in the parking lots, sheets were dirty and the room were not presentable. Cancelled my future stay for return.
"Dirty, smelly, sketchy hotel"
We were greeted warmly at the front desk and told how to get to our room. That's where the good experience ended. We had to drive around to the back of the hotel to enter an unlocked outer door at night. That door should have been locked especially since there were people hanging around in the parking lot. We entered a smelly stairwell and climbed to our equally smelly floor. The room was aggressively air condition and the bathroom fixtures were mounted at an unusually low height. The shower did not drain properly. We got in and got out of that hotel as quickly as we could.
"Don't stay here."
the pPone, TV, and microwave didn't work. Second room was better. Only the TV had problems in this room; only one channel. As part of the BW hotel chain, we expected something much better than what we experienced.
"Disgusting"
I would recommend getting your tetanus shot before staying at this place. It's absolutely filthy! The sitting area outside of the pool hasn't been cleaned in I would say a year, there was an extreme amount of black mold on the bathroom ceiling, the room smelled of regrets and disappointment. The hallways smelled like the cheapest weed a person can buy. I honestly don't know how anyone could work there! Do the Best Western hireups even know about this place?
"Met the need"
Place looks better online than in person. Outside had tall weeds growing. Room looked ok but I had concerns the sheets weren't changedfrom the other guest. My stay was less than 12 hour so I just needed a place to sleep. Facility was understaffed with only the front desk person. He did his best and was very apologetic about the situation. Checkout is 12noon but I needed the privacy for a call that ended at 12:30. They had difficulty accommodating me. So I left and was able to reschedule. For 1 night sleeping it is ok. But will not be my first choice.
"I would whether stay in my car"
Extremely bad condition. Dirty, lack of maintenance, lack of overall cleaning. The entire place had a foul smell. We checked in late or we would have found somewhere else to stay.Best Western should dissociate this hotel from
"Clean, nice people"
We stayed here after flying in from out of state. Place was clean. Pool wasn't open, but it was cold anyways. Nice staff, close to the airport, and shopping. Very reasonable!!! We will recommend to others
"Never again !!!"
Booked through another site. Was visiting for my sons college graduation for two days so I figured it should suffice. Was I wrong it was the worst room I've stayed in. The place looks like if given some tlc or maintenance it could be ok. The bathroom tub was horrid the toilet seat was coming off, room smelled, towels were dirty. Then when I complained they said they'd move me with my kids to another room of which smelled like marijuana and cigarettes. Didn't trust the hotel so took all our belongings with us at all times. Didn't get housekeeping so asked the front person for a garbage bag for the trash that had built up and he wanted to charge me for it!!! The toilet paper roll was ised by previous person and saved for us. There were boogers on the wall!!! I wouldn't stay again even if it was comped !!! Beware ! Has a great location but is horrible . Will not be revisiting.
"New name should be Stay Away"
Dirty, run down, broken elevator, filthy hallways, lumpy old mattress, extremely noisy AC, rude staff, etc. Avoid staying here there are many other nice hotels on the same strip. I had stayed here many times before the new management took over and was always satisfied. Now it feels like a $29 truckers motel.
"This "motel" does not belong in the Best Western Family!"
Upon arriving, I was told that I spent too much on the reservation, and should have booked by calling them directly. I booked through the Best Western website. They would not give me the lower rate so I felt like an idiot. The place has potential but needs to be cleaned and spruced up. Our room was near Door #2, so we approached the building from this part of the building. I've never seen so many cigarette butts all over the entrance - obviously has not been swept in weeks! The breakfast room was fine as far as the food goes, but utensils were limited and there was no one to service the dining room. Had to get the front desk clerk. While filling the supplies, she said nothing to the senior gentleman that was in there barefoot, coughing into his hand, then using the same hand to pull on the lever for coffee, juice, etc. Totally disgusting. Very nice covered pool area, but it needs to be ventilated. I was getting a headache and trouble breathing due to the very strong odor of chlorine so I couldn't stay very long. The place has potential, but needs deep cleaning and sprucing up.
"Try cleaning up"
The room was adequate, the window looked like it had something smeared on it and the curtain was falling. No security at all, not the place to stay if you're alone. Halls and stairs were filthy and in need of repair. The exterior was filthy with garbage and all kinds of beer bottles. The grass needed be maintained. Best Western shouldn't have their naon this place.
"Sure DONT Stay"
My husband and I stayed here for 2 nights. What a mistake! Upon walking down the hallway to our room, the weed smell was very strong. The furniture was all chipped up, the bed had a visible down slope. The bed was ROCK hard. For internet access, there is usually a password screen, however, the no password was needed to connect (don't know how safe that was). Almost every electrical socket in the room was too loose to plug anything into. Usually there is a lock on the external doors so guests would have to swipe their card to get in. The external door that we used had no lock, no card reader and in fact, where a lock had once been was just a hole. Anyone walking off the street could gain access to the pool and any rooms at any time. My hotel key became deactivated (my fault-too close to phone I guess). When I asked for a new one, the front desk clerk never asked for id...just activated a new card and handed it over. She had never seen me before. So unsafe. Overall cleanliness of the hotel property was poor. Dirty tissues laying in the hallway were there when we left in the morning and we noticed they were still there upon our return in the evening. I guess you get what you pay for, but this was the worst. Will NEVER stay at this hotel again. We did not feel safe at all staying there. We unexpectedly had to stay another night in the area, but we checked into a different hotel instead of staying in this hole again. Beware!
"Please fire this employee"
On 5/9/2021, during the night shift, I experienced the worst customer service ever. This employee literally ignored phone calls from my bank and bent over backward to not give my partner a place to sleep. I still don't understand why I lost three hours and 7k worth of chase points for a room here that nobody slept in. My bank has had to launch an investigation.
"GOOD VALUE !"
This hotel has a great location. Very Coinvent to highways, shops and restaurants Clean room. with prompt service Pleasant staff. Only downside, par breakfast. One could do a lot worse than this hotel.. CONSIDER !
"Worst night ever"
Hotel is Dirty and doors not locked at night. Pool closed at 9 and people drinking hung around the pool until 11:45 yelling and running around could not sleep. Housekeeping knock on our door around 8:45 woke us up. Asked us if we need towels,
"horrible"
WOW, Where do I start. The rooms were only given one towel, when i wiped up with the only towel i ended up getting a black pube in my mouth, (......i have blonde hair/ the thought still turns my stomach). Asked for an extra towel and was told by the very rude staff they were booked and had no extra, felt so dirty from sleeping in the filthy beds while scratching worse than a dog with mange the next morning i was tempted to use the dirty curtains as a towel. dropped my debit card behind the tv stand and upon pulling it out found something was at least being accomadated , (rat or mouse nest wasn't about to wake it up, rather polite of me i'd say). pool was ice cold nd green but what the hell the rich in chlorine water probably acted as a disinfectant, little added protection among being on the safe side and getting a tetnus shot the next day. People were using drugs pool side, (yes they're greedy so don't bother asking unless you have cash. As for the prostatutes only saw them in the parking lot, I give them 4 stars they at least smelled better than the room, the nice girl i seen might of had an adams apple but the surgery was complete, thanks for the company christal,( I was joking when i said i loved you!)
"Average."
By no means is this hotel trashy, but it does need some TLC and needs to possibly keep a better eye out for guests who may be smoking, because I absolutely smelled some. And it seems the pool needs cleaning...swimming in a pool where I can barely see the lower half of me isn't a clean pool, just overall cleanliness needs better upkeep.
"Sure stay Albany stay away from thier"
We stayed for 2 weeks due to us being in transition didn't have a problem the whole time we were thier checked out and they fraudulently charged me $250 called the manager still have not received a call back from her it's been over 2 weeks since being thier.luckily I have a great bank who noticed the charge and noticed I had used my credit card at a gas station 6hrs away.so sad about this I was going to come back to stay but now won't.
"Excellent stay"
The swimming pool was terrific along with breakfast and the free WiFi the staff were respectful and very helpful will definitely be staying there again A+++++ service and staff Rooms were very clean deodorized sinks and tub cleaned up very nice no streaks on the mirrors windows were perfect bed linens were fresh clean soft and comfortable. Pillows and mattress too.
"Horrible hotel— avoid if possible"
This hotel is dirty, with peeling and stained furniture, water- stained walls, and smelly rooms and hallways. Furthermore it is very unsafe— the parking lot was unlit, back and side doors did not lock, and the lock on my room door was even broken. I left immediately.
"Hotel is run down"
Bathtub was really dirty and slimy. Breakfast room carpet was extremely worn out. Bed was comfortable. House keeping knocking on door at 8 am to see when we were checking out. Just walked into the room at 10. Check out is at 11.
"BEWARE!!! DRUG INFESTED RUN DOWN BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE!"
BEWARE!!!! I had to come here with my 7 kids for a business/personal trip to be closer to my job since we live over an HOUR away. I booked through priceline & got 2 rooms & am currently still a guest in 1 room as of right now (not because I want to be TRUST ME) but it would be too hard to relocate to another venue. Anyway the rooms are OK. Its a non-smoking hotel yet smells like a cigarette factory every morning & my kids have asthma and medical issues which it caused problems. The staff are rude as hell and the manager Laura does NOT care about any of the guests. All the facilities are closed due to covid and poor staffing, you receive what used to be a nice breakfast in a paper bag they literally gave my kids bagels & candy the other day, the pool is somewhat warm but small so lots of people theres no social distancing and barely anyone wears a mask. Half the time the ice machine is out of ice, there's not garbage bags you have to provide your own, no one asks if you need anything the customer service is horrendous, theres no place to really hang out outside so the kids were riding bikes and playing kickball in the parking lot which is pretty much empty and my 17 month old found a heroin needle (which my partner got gloves & disposed of) when brought to the managers attention and requesting some kind of incentive to stay she had the audacity to say watch your child better HELLO what the hell do you think I was doing thats why we made it safe not the hotel they could've cared less, they also have a bad reputation for drug use because colonie police department is patrolling their parking lots on a regular basis and harassing the guests who are just minding their own business. The owner said this is not acceptable but the manager basically made it clear she doesn't care (Laura) and she can't do anything to help. Its basically a cheap run down option if theres nothing else available and id give ZERO stars for all aspects of the stay except the pricing through priceline and the pool option. I will most likely NEVER stay here again and NEVER recommend this place especially because their management sucks and is beyond rude. Needs a job not pertaining to people!
"Skip this one"
We gave this place a shot since it was so cheap with fairly good reviews. Well you get what you pay for! There were a lot of issues with it including a filthy pool, broken items in the room, abandoned maintenance items around the hotel, lethargic/apathetic staff, stained sheets, a strong smell of gas two of the days, etc. You can tell it was once a nice place and the lobby was well decorated but we were joking that it feels like the place was abandoned and no one bothered to tell the front desk staff to stop booking rooms.
"Used To Be Great Here, Not Anymore"
I had been to this place a few times before Covid and my experiences were great. This is the first time I stayed at this place since the pandemic and my experience was not very pleasant. First off, when I checked in and it was close to 11 at night, I thought the guy at the front desk was a bit unprofessional because he looked like he was just tired of his job and I was not recognized as a BW reward member also. The lady came in after 11 was nice but still a bit unprofessional in my opinion. During my stay, I requested if there are rooms available on the second floor and also on the pool side when checking-in, but the guy said the second floor was closed and I had no problem with that. Later I had to switch to a different room since there was like ventilation running outside my room and it was just too loud for me to sleep. I had no other problems with that room though. But after I switched to another room, man that room was the worst hotel room I've ever been! For some reasons, the room was clearly occupied and had not been cleaned. The beds were a mass and there were hairs and stains on the beds, tables, and in the bathroom. Trash had not been emptied out as well of course. Not sure why it was like that, but house keepers should communicate with the front desk if the room has not been cleaned so the front desk would have known and leave the room unoccupied. I had to ask for an extra blanket because the original blanket was like just sheet literally. I got woken up by a crackhead(I met him the night before in the hallway and he clearly looked like there was something wrong with him and he even asked me if I smoke weed, I denied and he asked why, what a stupid question to ask honestly)at 5 in the morning. I recognized it was the same guy because the voice was the same. He was trying to open my door using the keys, but failed of course because he was trying to open the wrong room then he started to smacking my door. After smacking for a couple of minutes, I finally said yes because I was asleep and he might finally realize that he was trying to get in the wrong room. I heard he went to someone else room and did the same but yelled as well this time with some curse. That might not had something to do with the hotel, but for me I've never had something like that before. I had been to this place a few times before covid and I never had any problem during my stays. But not this time. I probably will avoid this place next time when I need to stop by in the area.
"Do not stay here"
Horrible location and room. I've traveled so much and this was by far the worst hotel I've ever stated at. Dirty rooms, heat didn't work well, stains on sheets and blankets. Pool was disgusting. Do not stay here.
"No Toilet Paper or Tissues in the room, Pool is kept Cold and not heated."
We were told over the phone the pool was heated. When I arrived he said we don't keep it heated. There was no tissues or toilet paper in the room and I was told they don't have any. Strange. Hallways are cold. Room was standard but older but fine. Smelled funny but overall standard overnight hotel.
"No quality or service"
Very unhappy. First non smoking room reeked of smoke. Would not service us our grab bag breakfast at 905 when it clearly stated 10am. The creamer in the lobby curdled. The parking lot and sidewalks were full of ice and snow. The side door look was broken . The phone in the room didn't work.
"Problem with the cleanliness. Poor service."
Towels were dirty and filthy. Poor service. There were no accommodations. Everything was being blamed on covid. Bad and poor service. Bathtub was dirty in the tub and all over the walls there were hair, disgusting. Was not comfortable. Toddler fell in tub, it was too slippery.
"Business owner"
Loud radios, smell marijuana, dirty sheets and the breakfast was horrible. One staff working for 130 rooms or more in New Year's Eve. The place was dirty, poor maintain example fire extinguishers expired, doors broken and
"Great Hotel!"
This hotel is an excellent value. It far exceeded our expectations. We are actually back right now to stay again which shows how much we enjoyed our stay. The rooms were clean, the hotel common areas were kept clean, the outside was also kept clean. It is a great bargain without making any sacrifices. They have a modified breakfast due to COVID 19, the fitness center is also closed. The pool is still open which my son really enjoyed. It is an excellent location, right near the airport. The beds and linens were extremely comfortable. Overall it was an excellent experience!
"Below Best Western Standards"
First my review has nothing to do with the staff. They were very friendly and helpful. The property is very run down. It was suggested we park in the back of the building due to location of our room. There was zero lights in the back of the building. It was dark and we felt very unsafe. We went back to the front and hauled all of our stuff quite a distance to get to our room. The room was not very clean. Very run down. Sheets were stained, toilet did not flush well. By next morning it did not flush at all. The black bonded leather desk chair was ripped. The cleanliness was a level that we left very early in the a.m. without even showering. Had it not been late at time of check-in and had we not already traveled over 8 hours with a dog we would have left and found other accommodations for the night.
"You get what you pay"
The price is good but the place isn't that nice rooms outdated and bathrooms old looks this place really needs a spruce up, When you walk in the hotel looks clean tidy and comfortable but it's rather different once you have your room, it was cool and the window was left open I checked in at 2200 and the room was cold, So heating on to take the chill of the place and on the walls the have a odd decor of waves very strange bed was comfortable which was good. The bathroom was small and very outdated ceiling water damage walls damaged in the sink no hot water and the shower was Luke warm and was leaving at 6 am
"DO NOT STAY HERE SPEND THE EXTRA MONEY FOR A QUALITY STAY YOU HAVE BEEN WARNEDThe property needs to be updated."
The property needs to be updated. Stayed here a few times but this visit is my last do jot recommend. My room was dirty (bed sheets, comforter, towels) there was hair all over the room like they didn't even bother to clean. How do you not clean with a pandemic still going on???? Breakfast is a waste too might as well get a more expensive hotel to stay that gives quality breakfast. I had a little disagreement witb the lady at the front desk. I woke up early for breakfast since my son is doing remote learning. Went to go get breakfast with my man and decided we were going to bring a breakfast bag back for my son. Front desk staff insisted that she can't give us the three breakfast bags since it's only 2 of us and that my young son needs to come get his breakfast himself.. I told her to check my room that I booked for 3 people so why can't I get the third bag. She stated it's policy.. Anyways the bag only had a granola bar some 50cents corner store donut apple & orange or apple juice. She acted like the bag had anything special 0/10 I do not recommend
"DeDe was the only good thing about it."
Drove up from Virginia to see some family and we booked here because it was cheap but not Motel 6 cheap. We thought, "Best Western? Should be at least ok." This place was a shady motel disguised as a Best Western. It reeked of weed and cigarettes, the tub was stained, the beds were uncomfortable with toddler pillows and the pool was inconveniently located right outside the rooms and was not promptly shut down at 9 pm as the sign suggests. They require a $150 deposit for incidentals? Like what in that room was even worth enough to require $150 to fix it? The only ray of sunshine was the woman at the front desk by the name of DeeDee (sp). With a phenomenal personality, she was there to help us with each and everything that we needed. She deserves 5 stars but also deserves to be working in a much nicer place than this.
"Horrible! Don't stay here"
Property and room is beyond outdated and rundown. Downright creepy! The Manager/Owner? is awful. They have a $150 deposit and I could set fire to the entire room and not do $150 damage! Very dark, no security at all, dirty and worn. They really need to start over at this point. The neighborhood is not bad but the hotel makes its own bad area. I can't believe Best Western still has their name on this place. Don't be fooled into staying here it is not worth it!
"Definitely spend your money elsewhere!"
This was my 2nd trip here first time was just okay was for kids just to swim so wasn't a big deal the damp moldy smell still there a month later hotel is run down simple enough but it was cheap and again for kids to swim so whatever first stay employees were very nice and helpful able to book another room no issue . This stay THEY LOST MINE AND ALOT OF MY FAMILYS BUSINESS i stayed 30 days prior to this stay and didn't pay any deposit just however much the room was and moved on I originally had 2 rooms called to reserve a 3rd got told no problem and hung up.. check in they still only have 2 rooms booked No biggie just add on a 3rd. Cool well when was i going to be told about the 150.00 deposit for each room ? Again stayed 30 days prior and didn't pay any deposit then when I questioned staff he was very very rude about it moldy smelly hallways cigarette butts in hallway nice pool but everything around it needs a update AC in room barely worked just overall done with this place
"Lipstick on a pig"
My family and I were looking for a place to spend the night after a long day of driving and due to the Best Western name thought this would be a decent place to stay. The pictures seemed nice enough and our initial impression was that it has recently been renovated and looked very inviting. Until we got to our room. I immediately noticed a smell which I couldn't place at first until I saw the mold everywhere. We were so tired my wife just decided to lay down and sleep rather than change rooms. All we needed was a couple of beds anyways. Beds were comfy enough. Then the morning came and we saw the condition of the bathroom and shower. No one wanted to go near that. The door was cracking in half from water damage. The shower itself had mold and soap scum all over. The spout in the tub wasn't even sealed. It was disgusting. During a time of heightened awareness to cleanliness you would think they would pay attention to these things. I emailed the general manager after our stay with pictures. Not even an email back. Would never stay again.
"Prostitution ring"
During our stay the rooms around us were running a prostitution ring. We even heard conversations regarding the cost for a prostitute or 3. They partied all night and the front desk did nothing. After complaining, the group pounded on our door. We were scared to death.

"Much to our surprised...the hotel was closed when we arrived."
I made reservations by phone and actually talked to a real person, not on-line, not automated. He happily took my reservation and told we the hotel was re-opening on July 1st. We booked for 1 night July 2nd. When we arrived the places was deserted, locked and doors chained. I contacted Customer care. Sandra was very nice, professional and apologetic but said her system shows the hotel was closed until July 15th. The sign on the door said the hotel was re-opening JUNE 15th. Clearly a case of one hand not knowing what the other was doing. Will be watching my credit card bill to be sure I am not charged as a "no-show" by the system that not only sent me a confirmation email but another "reminder" the day before our stay.

"Do Not Stay"
Nothing is worked. Mostly this is for people like to live in smelly place. Nothing working in room. Bed is bad. Heater keep on running. most of the outlet doesnt work. No need to have key to enter room. all entrance are all wide open. keep your valuable safe. mostly this place is like smelly and junk room

"Excellent!"
My boyfriend and I came to the Albany area to visit my son who attends UAlbany. We chose this hotel from the "Hotels Tonight" app because of the rate offerred and the hot breakfast. Extremely pleased. From the time we arrived (Sat @ 4pm) until we left (Sun @ 10am) the staff was ALWAYS cleaning and smiling. This hotel is very clean. Very good hot breakfast, pool area looked great) and the location is great. The only reason we gave it 4 star is because toilet seat was very loose and tub backs up with standing water and doesnt drain properly (rm 128). All in all we will definitely stay here again. Great job!

"Nice room"
My family of 4 stayed at this hotel before traveling out of Albany airport. We requested a room by the pool and were given a room with a 2nd door right to the pool area. Staff was friendly but front desk was always busy and only 1 person was working every time we visited so the wait was often excessive. They had a shuttle to and from the airport and parking at the hotel during our stay was significantly cheaper than at the airport. Would stay here again.

"Very good for leaving your car for a week"
.I have sent several families for the car parking service alone.cheaper than airport.breakfast very good.i left my coat in the room,a week later they had it for me,with my money still in the pocket.so honest staff, worth a lot to me
"Convenient to airport, not a very nice hotel"
I'd bypass this hotel. Needs repairs and upgrades.Close to airport is only plus. Bed not so comfortable, breakfast mediocre, bad water pressure, limited hot water, loud bathroom fan, parts of ceiling cracked and coming down

"A weekend get away"
it was very relaxinf and we did get some need rest and we would like to return. We always stay at best Wester when we visit Albany to catch a flight or just go shopping. We love the area and we will return hoping all of our issues will be resolved. Thank you
"Best Value Ever"
Beautiful pool! Nice rooms directly open to pool area. With my 3 young children that was the most awesome part. Lovely, do it yourself breakfast, large area to sit and eat . Nice bar too. We worked out too, that was very clean area. Can't be beat, best price for all that.
"Strange, but nice"
The rooms are definitely dated, but fairly clean and not at all smelly. I would advise a room toward the back of the building if you want the least amount of noise. The price is definitely good. Nice friendly staff.

"not a great stay"
The hotel is not well maintained, it is dark, and the rooms are not very clean. No elevator, so you have to carry everything up to your room if you are on the second floor. There is an indoor pool, but it was so cold in that area, you would never swim in there. Just not a good room experience. the beakfast is good.

"Great value, location and safe."
The staff are very professional. The park, fly, and stay program is the best value and the shuttle service is always on time and very courteous. A relaxing nights stay before an early flight and the knowledge that your car is safe and if needed, they have the equipment to “jumpstart” your car after a long vacation in the frigid northeast is very comforting. I can't rate this hotel experience higher than 5 but would give it a 10+ if i could.

"average stay"
NY Bowhunter this was a free night for us. room was comfortable but there were a few issues like a roll of toilet paper which had appartently fallen in the toilet and was placed on counter. Slow draining in sink

"Good Place To Stay"
This was the first time I stayed at a Sure Stay Plus hotel as well as the location. The front-desk staff when I checked-in and out were very friendly, professional, and helpful. As well as the housekeepers. The breakfast they have is very good and will come back for sure when I'm around.

"Great clean place"
This hotel is a great place to stay with clean rooms. Professional friendly staff. The parking lot is well lit and a safe place. Internet works well. The breakfast is well worth it. Great variety of foods.
"Relaxing"
The pool was clean, the bed was comfortable, breakfast was good, the bathroom was clean, the personnel were friendly and knowledgeable, the price was adequate, I was able to sit by poolside and relax.
"Great stay at airport"
Arrived and was greatly appreciated for our choice of accommodations. The staff very friendly and knowledgeable I had ask about the shuttle to the airport and was immediately scheduled for pickup the room was very nice and comfortable. Excellent hotel
"Extremely Outdated"
Hotel is dated. Looks like a 1970's hospital was converted into hotel. Carpet looks like originally installed when hotel open. The plumbing may or may not work. King rooms are spacious until you get to the bathroom you can't move around. You must stand on toilet to close door. Good luck at getting a hot shower.
"Great Option for ALB"
We are a business located just outside of Albany and have guests fly into ALB about six times a year for training sessions. We have been using this hotel for 5+ years now at a group rate. While there have been some bumps along the way, things have recently made a turn for the better. The hotel has been updated and the staff has improved. They are very accommodating and friendly and offer great shuttle service. We also want to give a shout-out to Nusair, who is our new reservations contact. He has been providing superb service and communications and I really hope he sticks around. He recently went above and beyond and it did not go unnoticed. Keep up the good work and we'll keep the guests coming!
"Dirty Bathroom"
Both the toilet and tub were filthy in our room. The wood on the bathroom door was frayed and peeling. Surprisingly, the rest of the room was fairly clean. We were just too exhausted from traveling all day to ask for a different room, as we were only stopping to sleep. The breakfast was fair, typical Best Western quality. There was a pamphlet for HBO listings on our table, but the TV did not get HBO. When we called the front desk to inquire about it, the girl said, "I don't know, I just work here."
"Dont let the pictures fool you!!"
If I could give them a zero I would! This hotel is horrible. The lobby was beautiful but the pictures online also gave a false impression of what was to come. The person on the front desk was pleasant. We entered our room and it was not clean. The toilet seat was not attached to the toilet and around the bottom of the toilet did not look like it had been cleaned in months! We immediately grabbed our things to go and get another room. Again, the front desk person. Was very accommodating and gave is another room and he personally walked us to the room to inspect it. It was clean to his standards but not mine. There was mildew all in the shower, another loose toilet seat and very dirty cracks and ceiling tiles. Dont be fooled by the pictures. I chose this hotel due to the location near the airport and only stayed because I got there at 12 am and was exhausted. Thank God for shower shoes....which really didn't help because when you turned on the shower the water backs up like you ran a bath. The water was still standing when I left this morning. Please do not waste your time or money.
"Used park sleep and fly"
There were 3 people in our party. The check in line was long and only 1 person to check in customers. We had a room with 2 double beds. The room was extremely small and over crowded with furniture. There was was a table and 2. Hairs. A desk with a Chair that didn't fit under the desk or table. There was no room to move in the room and put all our suitcases. We did leave for dinner and noticed that when we returned that we didn't need our key to enter the hotel from the side door and found the door was open and didn't lock. This was not good for security. The mattresses on the beds were saggy and uncomfortable. Need replacing. The bathroom had mold around the tub. The drain in the tub did not drain. I passed on the shower because the shower didn't drain after the first person's shower. We didn't experience the breakfast because we left before serving. We had an early flight. A Togo snack bag would have been a nice touch. The shuttle driver was pleasant and we were at the airport in plenty of time. On the return trip we missed the first shuttle and had to wait for the next trip. The driver was pleasant, brought us to our car( it was late at night) and helped us with all our suitcases. I don't think that I would stay at this hotel again if I needed a park and fly again.
"Where does that "PLUS" come from?"
Lady Shonta greeted me very friendly upon arrival and assigned me a spacious king bed room upstairs as requested with my reservation. The room had a desk with chair (torn up cushions), dresser, a sofa (but no coffee table) a fridge with freezer shelf and a microwave. The ceiling showed water leak damage. The bathroom was rather small and the shower had some mildew on the tiles. The hallway and room had a sweaty/stale smell. Otherwise, the room was clean and fine. Between 2 and 4 am, other guests walked the hallways while speaking loud and uncaring about other sleeping guests. The usual Best Western breakfast was served in a large room with plenty of seating.
"Pete & Millie"
Pete & Millie always stay at this hotel because of its location near the restaurants, and the Mull which is within walking distance from the hotel. This hotel has a great swimming pool and continental breakfast is great.
"Go Elsewhere!"
The location is good but that's the best thing about this hotel and there are so many other options around, that you should just go elsewhere. From reviews, I was expected a worn but dependable hotel. Unfortunately, my ground floor room smelled faintly of cigarette smoke. Worst there was mold on the shower tiles and the tub didn't drain. We managed to unplug it after several hours but unpleasant to deal with. Also for a family of 4, we were given only 2 towels, after trekking to the front desk to ask for stuff (shampoo!) it became tiresome after a long drive. The front desk staff are nice enough but pleasant hotel staff doesn't mask the bad condition of this hotel. Also if you're a light sleeper, the walls are real thin, and I'm a heavy sleeper, still I got woken up in the middle of the night by noisy neighbors. The hotel felt like a crappy Motel 6 but at Best Western prices. If I had known, I would have saved money and stayed at a Motel 6.
"Stop over on the way to California"
We had an early flight to California so we stayed the night. We have stayed here one time before so I figured we will stay again. Like the first stay, not disappointed. If we have to stay overnight for early travel, I will only stay here. THANK YOU!!
"The worst."
Where do I begin? This is by far one of the worst hotels I've ever seen. Upon arrival it looked dated, and we couldn't check in yet. The desk attendant told us we could leave our luggage behind the desk, not in a back room or anything but right in full view. We were not comfortable with that but did it anyway and went to grab lunch. Upon check in, my first room had sagging beds and a horrible smell, so I asked to switch rooms. The second room had sagging beds, a pungent cigarette smell, and a cobweb with insects in the shower. I asked to switch again. The third room had a spider in the sink, and then the hair dryer, which I checked since I'd be needing it, started smoking and fire sparks flying when I turned it on. I asked at the desk to get a new hair dryer, and they told me to take the one from the last room (impossible because the dryers are mounted on the walls.) I asked for a 4th room, which was better but at that point I'd seen too much. Each time I asked for a new room they gave me keys like it wasn't a big deal without asking me for my old keys, and later when I thought I'd left something behind they gave me keys to all 4 rooms, which made me feel incredibly unsafe if they are just handing out keys. I'd walked thru the pool area several times and kids were in there screaming so loud you could hear it inside the guest rooms, and kids were swimming in the dark because there aren't lights which struck me as pretty dangerous as there is no lifeguard. The staff were as helpful as they could be, because they absolutely know it's not a good place (and admitted as such), and I definitely saw tons of cleaning people during the day. It just is so run down that no amount of cleaning can fix it. I called BW corporate and they refunded me and I left, as did 5 of my friends with their own rooms. Again the staff was great about it, so I can't at all blame them. Save your time and money. BW needs to shut this place down or overhaul it. There are several other wonderful hotels within walking distance that are relatively the same cost and 1000X cleaner. Go next door to Homewood Suites.
"Needs renovations"
We really used to enjoy coming back to this hotel every year but the last time we stayed on Labor Day weekend we noticed that the place is falling apart, it really is getting dirty and dated. The hotel needs updating. Our room had some stains in the bed and my husband actually had to call for a new fitted sheet. The bed spread skirt also had some questionable stains. We had booked two nights through Orbitz but we actually left early the second day because it was that bad. Hope they do some refreshing or renovations soon. Check in Staff was very nice and I did not complain to them as it is not their fault.
"Best check in staff possible"
We were finishing up a 360 mile bike ride on the Erie Canal and the staff went above and beyond to make our stay great. Our dogs were as welcome as we were. Perfect end to an incredible week of riding.
"WILL BOOK AGAIN SOON"
We have stayed at this hotel many times and this last stay was the best. we have already booked our next trip in October for a 2 night stay. We stay here because our daughter is attending U of A and it is close by to the university
"Excellent place to stay"
Great place to stay, friendly staff and amazing amenities. Close to great restaurants and malls. My son is at University at Albany and we live almost three hours away so we will be staying at Sure Stay multiple times a year for the next couple of years. We really appreciate the feeling of home away from home in a great neighborhood.
"Good for the price"
I would probably come back. I think they need to do some updates. I also believe the staff should follow through when you ask for something and they say ok. Don't like the fact that they DON'T have an elevator. Restaurant on site was very good and very friendly staff.
"Save yourself the heartbreak and go for the $50/night hotel "
The quality is the same. While the staff were very nice the place was dingy, smelled musty and the mattresses were sagging. I could not get out of there fast enough. Hotwire sold it as a 3.5 star hotel but I have stayed in roadside motels that were cleaner.
"Stayed here for a dog show"
We needed an affordable location that was pet friendly and close to I87. We also hoped for a bar and restaurant. The positives: nice area to potty the dogs; excellent hot breakfast. The negatives: hotel is kicked and needs upgrading. Bathtub was old and scary and water pressure was terrible. Took ages to get hot water

"Good breakfast with plenty of options, nice pool, and good rooms. No 'extra' though."
The place was nice, didn't smell at all. Good selection for breakfast and nice area to eat it in. The room was clean. Basic room to fit the costs. The bed's were the only thing lacking. Bed felt like the cheapest available. It was ok, but not a very comfortable bed.
"Nice hotel"
Nice hotel, but quality starting to go down now that is a sure stay property, when the hotel was Best Western branded the quality was alot better, now with the new re-branding the property is starting to slide down hill, it's the little things, like in room alarm clocks, new surfaces of the tub...very slick. Overall it's a good value, but if it continues to slip down hill will be looking for another BW property
"Family trip"
We stopped here during a family trip. It was well priced and the rooms are nice. Front desk was very nice Dunkin donut right next door. Plenty of other restaurants nearby. Would definitely stay here again.
"Super friendly front desk"
My friend and I stayed here the night before our flight to BWI. Terrance and Shonta has great chemistry together and welcomed us with humor, efficiency and great smiles. Nice breakfast the next morning and the shuttle drivers were weary courteous and friendly. The room was great too!
"Pick another property"
Hotel is in need of a complete overhaul. From untrained staff (gave out room key to someone who entered the lobby without asking for name or ID, just gave key to the room number they asked for); to outdated rooms that felt a bit dirty, to uncomfortable mattresses that allow for little sleep, to a mediocre breakfast. I wouldn't recommend this and glad we had only booked 1 night at this property.
"Great staff, but not the best kept."
I really enjoyed the staff friendliness and their breakfast. Everything went great until I went to shower the next morning and saw hair in the bathtub and a stained and dirty shower curtian. I'm sure I just got a bad room. I do have another stay scheduled with them and it wasn't bad enough for me to want to cancel that reservation. Good hotel if your looking to travel on the cheap.
"Great value for your money!"
It may not be the newest hotel around (it shows it age in places) but you get a good V as lue. The beds were comfortable and clean, the breakfast was what you would expect and the kids were happy, pool was refreshing... Nothing fancy but it worked for a two night stay. Close to the airport and walking distance to restaurants and Urbered to shopping (shuttle was busy). Great value and vert friendly staff! No complaints!
"check your sheets and towels..."
linens looked questionable, I called front desk and they did offer to switch rooms but we were on our way out. They came and replaced all linens but still.... ewwwww. This is a COMMON occurrence at hotels.. so do yourself a favor and check. It's not just budget hotels..I think the maids don't know when people are checking out and they just fold up towels and don't replace.
"Need an exterminator"
Upon checking in my son noticed a huge bug on the floor from across the lobby. We walked over to investigate and after doing some research later I was able to identify it as a cockroach. Our (first) room appeared to be clean, however my son noticed a couple of small ants on his foot. We brushed it off, however when we got into bed that night there were ants covering the night stand, and IN OUR BED. I asked for a new room. The next room we were out into had an awful, thick smell of cigarette smoke/ashtrays, and upon brief inspection all of the furniture was shabbier and we found garbage left behind the dresser that housekeeping had apparently overlooked. For all of this we were given 10% off of our room rate “for our inconvenience”. Not good enough!
"Bad Experience"
This was our first time staying at the hotel and we were very disappointed. First we had to signed a no smoking agreement form, then they place us in a room that was full of smoke. Request for room change- then we were place near the pool, but the AC was not working properly room was hot, report the issues twice was told it would be look at and fix by the time we return- did not happen the ceiling had multi water mark, the bath tub was dirty. we will not be staying at this hotel again.
"Upgrade"
The shuttle drivers to and from airport were very courteous and prompt. The breakfast was adequate to good. The rooms and hall were another story: Rooms had water damage to a ceiling that was peeling in places, the bathroom wood door was shredding at bottom, the rugs in room and hallway were filthy, the mattress did not have a wrap. Though none were found, the exposure could be conducive to bed bugs. No elevators: ADA? Bathroom was clean and bed was comfortable. Price was good so I guess I should not complain.
"Just as nice as high end hotels at half the price"
Almost every brand of hotel is located along a couple of blocks of Wolf Rd. I picked the SureStay Plus because of the price, expecting it to be adequate. I was happily surprised that it was comparable to hotels that cost twice as much. Lobby area and restaurant/breakfast room are very nicely decorated. My room was very comfortable and everything worked. Lighting was better than most high-end hotels. Towel bars in the bathroom, which you don't always find anymore. All of the staff -- shuttle driver, front desk, housekeeping, breakfast room -- were cheerful and helpful. What more could you want from an airport hotel?
"Great Staff - a comfortable and pleasant stay"
We choose this Best Western because it was close to our son's home. We were very happy with our stay. The staff was excellent - very attentive and sincerely caring about making our stay pleasant. We would stay here again.
"Made son sick"
The room we stayed in had leaking pipes from the room above. The carpet was damp and mildewed. The room was dirty ( cobwebs, tub had a bath mat that had not been cleaned under, the room had the general appearance of disuse and neglect). Our son was physically ill from all the mold and mildew.
"Great combination of value/comfort"
We stay here a lot. They somewhat recently changed the name which confused us at first but the check in process was easy (and cheaper than hotels.com) and they allow pets so it's our go to. Relatively quiet, and they had easy parking. We did not eat this time but usually the breakfast is pretty good as well.
"Great Value / Location"
Great value and location for my conference at Capital Region BOCES. Close to shopping (just in case you forgot to pack something) and many restaurants to choose from. The staff were very helpful when I asked for assistance.
"Clean"
Room was clean but some outlets did not work, next to vending machines so we heard the generators all night humming. Outside doors were not secured so they opened freely...Breakfast was good. Pool was inside and very hot in that area in the summer.
"Not impressed at all....."
Before I booked here, I read reviews. I felt that this hotel had good overall reviews. I felt confident we were going to a good hotel. When we got into our room there was no toilet paper on the dispenser (not even an empty cardboard). Not really a big deal. There was no plug for the bathtub drain. And the sheets on the bed looked like they hadn't been changed. The mattress pad under the fitted sheet was crumpled under the sheet, there's no way the bed was made fresh. When I walked into the bathroom there was a used, yes, USED, Q-Tip in the toilet paper dispenser. At this point I went to the front desk, the longest walk ever. The lady at the front desk didn't seem to understand my concerns. All that she got out of all of these things was that I needed toilet paper.....I tried to tell her, that I had a roll on the counter, no I didn't need toilet paper. I wanted my bed made with clean sheets. She did not understand and handed me a roll of toilet paper and dismissed me. She did ask if I wanted a plug for the drain in the bathtub....I declined because I was not going to sit in the tub. The clerk never offered to switch our room or send someone up to change the sheets. At this point I was so frustrated I walked away because it was better than causing a scene. Needless to say, we slept on top of the blanket. Also, the ceiling looked nasty. The walls are thin, I could hear the people in the next room talking. I don't mean muffled sounds. I hear clear conversations. I wanted to send Best Western all this review, but I cannot find a place on the website to email them. I will say that other staff members that I met in other areas of the hotel were courteous and nice. I don't think I will ever go back to this hotel, sadly.
"Convenient to Albany Airport"
Place to stay right near the Albany Airport with parking and shuttle service. The staff was very helpful and the rooms were very clean. Breakfast bar is included or you can do grab 'n go. The shuttle driver was very nice.

"Many plugs!"
This is a nice hotel in its category. What I particularly enjoyed was the number of plug to charge electronics. In addition to the usual ones on the wall and at the lamp feet, there was a special device with two regular plugs and two usb plugs. For a room that could accomodate four persons, it's a requirement. This hotel is the first where I was this. I was delighted not to have to plan and negotiate to charge all devices. I was also happy with the breakfast, with lots of variety. I would suggest one additional sort of cereals for people who found Raisin bran tasting too much sweet due to the hight amount of raisins. This suggestion is Special K with strawberries. If there were walnuts to add, it would be perfect. Staff was very pleasant. One guy let me know he was about to make noise in a common area due to having to vaccuum. That was nice!

"nice Hotel"
From the outside don't look like much but the rooms were nice ,we had a room that went out to the pool which was very nice the pool area could use an updating the doors going out to the court yard need some repair as one slams and the other makes a nasty grinding sound and of course that was next to are room very loud in the pool area after 9pm when that was so called closed time over all nice time I know it's hard to police the area It wont stop me from staying here again but could have been better cause of the noise

"American Airlines put me up here, very nice, good breakfast!"
The staff at the Sure Stay Plus was very nice, and helped me out a lot when I was stranded in Albany for an extra day. The shuttle to and from the airport was super fast and convenient, and the hotel was within walking distance to everything I wanted to do in the area. I walked down to the Crossings at Colonie, which is a really nice park, ate dinner at the Outback Steakhouse, and every restaurant and shop is just a short walk away. My room was very nice, the hotel is remodeling, but the bed was comfortable, pillows new, and furniture was nice. Got to switch back and forth between the Cubs-Cardinals game and the Blues-Bruins game, so that was an enjoyable later evening after dinner! Free cookies in the afternoon too! Good experience, I appreciate the hotel and its very nice staff!

"Excellent for the price - would rate 4 1/2"
Nice pool, nice breakfast, friendly staff, nice bar opens at 4 PM with both food and wide variety of drinks (although no beer on tap), friendly staff, dependable shuttle to restaurants, laundromat, etc., in addition to airport, warm cookies at front desk...makes up for springy bed, too-small bathroom, noisy doors and airplanes.

"Worth the stay, close to airport, shop, movie's, an restaurants! Remodeling overall good condition!"
Remodeling a bargain an no at luxury hotel...great for weekend all GOOD! Sticky furniture needs replacement in rooms..slowly remodeling questions.... Will be much nicer when completed. Worth a visit for the price!
"Good value accommodation"
This hotel is definitely in need of an update, but high marks to the staff, who were very kind, welcoming and helpful always. If you're looking for budget accommodation in the region, this hotel offers good value.
"Would not recommend."
Would not recommend this location for a stay. The overall appearance of this hotel is dirty, broken doors, dated furnishings and tattered carpeting. Service at the front desk was rudeness and aggressive.
"Staff was great, but the overall cleanliness of the hotel is not great."
We had a number of problems with our room and items not working. When we spoke to the staff they were quick to resolve any issues they could, but there are some things they couldn't fix - a short in one of the wall mounted lights, the door to the bathroom would stick or wouldn't close and there is no signage to tell you 2 of the plugs only work with the overhead light on. The room was very clean and the beds were very comfortable, but the cleanliness of the common areas left much to be desired. We booked the hotel for the pool which was very nice, but was not as clean as one would hope along with the area around the pool being very very slippery (not just from water).
"Avoid this hotel!"
We booked after checking reviews figuring it would be a typical simple, clean accommodation for one night. It is beyond rundown. I think people rent rooms to use the shuttle for airport and skip the cost of airport parking. Exterior is unkempt, lawn unmowed, courtyard was littered with plastic bags, rolls of old carpet, trash, and cigarette butts. Everything looked like it had been bought piecemeal from other hotels that were closed. I'm okay with that. But dust it. We did the usual bed check and the mattress was dirty and urine stained. I took a picture of the mattress to the front desk and checked out. On a positive note, the staff was very polite and accommodating. The hotel is in dire need of a compete renewal.
"Very Pleasant"
Nice hotel Great Rate Staff was pleasant Nice Breakfast Clean rooms Lovely pool and amenities Great value for the money Next door to great restaurants. Although the hallways seemed a bit outdated the rooms were pleasantly fresh and well appointed
"Do not go here"
I booked a room and got one on the first floor by door 3 the bathroom smelt like sewage and one of the queen beds had a dead bug on the bottom sheet and dried blood apot on the top sheet. I called the front desk and they couldn't bring me sheets but said he could change my room at 130am with a sleeping 2,5,and 9 yr old. Smh
"Capitol visit - you get what you pay for"
Booked this “hotel” (more like a motel) based on the reviews. Sadly, this facility is really trying but failing. Mostly everything is old and outdated. Our room had a weird odor as soon as you walk in. You get used to it but smelled bad at first. The bathroom was gross with stains in the tub walls and dingy bathroom. The beds needed new springs or mattresses and could have been a little bigger to fit 2 adults. Otherwise was ok. The price was great, so getting what I paid for.
"Great place to stay before a flight"
We booked this hotel last minute before a flight and it well exceeded our expectations for the price. We booked with AAA discount but forgot the card, woman at the front desk was super understanding and still gave us the discount. Since we had a late flight we were able to get a late checkout (12pm) at no extra charge either. We did not bring a car and instead got a bus to the hotel, so the shuttle took us to a restaurant on Wolf Rd. that night, and to the Colonie Mall the next day to kill a few hours before our flight. Comfortable bed (albeit a bit firm) and a bathtub in the room, decent breakfast. Some minor cosmetic issues in the rooms (some water damage on the wall closest to the bathroom and a bit of torn up carpet) but for less than $100 I genuinely did not care. Would 100% stay here again.
"Loved this place!"
We've been on the road for 16 days, so have stayed at many places. This was by far the best in all categories except “is bed comfortable”. There were 2 queen beds and we selected the one with most advantageous view of tv as I'm sure 99% of people do. Middle of the night wished we'd chosen the other one. This one was a little soft as in I kept rolling downhill towards my husband. In every other category, such as: Cleanliness, nice bed linens, excellent buffet breakfast compared to comparable chains, and quiet other than occasional planes, (and they they seemed to stop at either 9 or 10) I'd give a 5. Now, mind you this is priced as middle of road in pricing, not luxury or high end
"Albany"
Room was clean. Bed was comfortable. Heater/air conditioner worked great. Close to the airport. Breakfast was okay. Fried eggs were rubbery. Staff was polite and friendly. Price was reasonable. Would stay again if need arises.
"Sure Stay Wolf Road Albany New York"
Perfect for me. Close to airport and clean. Staff is great including the little bar inside call Scenario's. They are doing some renovations but hardly bothered me at all. Stay there most always when I go to Albany.
"Smelly"
Unfortunately the room we stayed in had a musty odor. Not to mention the hallway smelled of marijuana. The noise level aswell was out of control. I have always stayed at a Best Western and had never had such a poor experience. I will say that the staff however was friendly.
"Trip to Howe Cavern"
I like the location of this hotel, it was very convinient for restaurants and shopping centers, good value for the money, very good breakfast included, and ice size, warm swimming pool. Service and renovation in rooms can be improve the experience here.
"Great value for the money as of April 25/2019"
True HD tv, not stretched out SD, true high speed wifi, comfy bed. I would return again. ****I now have an issue with Trip Advisor though!**** My comments were over, but the stupid Trip Advisor site would not accept less than 200 characters. Hotel was good but trip advisor pissed me off
"Very Good"
We found this place to be very good as an overnight stopping point on our road trip across the NE states. The room was clean and comfortable, and the facilities were very good. The location was also good - close to several shops and the airport is nearby - I would recommend this to anyone.
"Superior Accomodations for the Price!"
Don't be deceived by the dated exterior of this establishment...this place is great! Very friendly staff greeted us as we entered, and they were kind enough to put us on the first floor at our request. The room itself was very large and clean. The beds were comfortable and the shower water hot and high-pressured. The room came with higher-end shampoo/conditioner, soaps, and lotion. The room was also very quiet, despite this hotel's proximity to the airport. The accomodations were also excellent! The gym is among the nicest I've seen, and the pool is large, clean, and in a very well-lit room (allowing for swimming year-round). The breakfast spread is also very good. There's a great variety of cereals, breads, pastries, protein options, yogurts...the list is endless! There is also plenty of seating available, including traditional table/chairs and comfy couches. Finally, there is an in-hotel restaurant that can make orders to go. We ate here once and it was good! If we ever find ourselves in Albany again, we'll certainly be staying here!

"A good deal"
A great price for the room and leaving the car for 18 days as we vacationed in California. The hotel is only five to seven minutes from the Albany airport – very convenient. I was impressed by the staff. Helpful and attentive to our needs. Pretty good breakfast as well. We will be staying at the SureStay Plus – and leaving our car – on future trips.

"The price is right!"
I've stayed here many times while my daughter was attending UA and living in the area. This weekend will be my last stay as she's moving back home. I'm disappointed at how many reviews I've read so I had to write my own. While the BW is not the top of the line, it's by no means a pit. I've always had a clean room, friendly and helpful staff and a comfortable stay. The decor could be updated, sure but who cares? I watch tv, read my books and visit LLBean, Whole Foods and Trader Joes when I'm not out and about doing something with my daughter. I'm usually paying $75-80/night and I get a great breakfast! There are waffles, cereals, yogurt, oatmeal, juices, potatoes and other warm things (don't ask me because I'm vegan and I don't eat them), but get this my dairy-free friends...the offer almond milk! How cool is that? I've stayed at other hotels in the area who have no-dairy options. I think there are free cookies when you come in too. I was quite skeptical about this hotel as the other BW in the Albany area was horrible, but I enjoy this hotel and have recommended this hotel many times. The only negative recently was when stayed in March, there was a lot of noise for road construction. It ended before I went to sleep but started up again quite early. But, that's not the hotel's fault. If you're looking for an upper-end hotel, there are those that you can pay in the hundreds or more in the area. If you are looking for a basic, clean room where you can rest and get a good night's sleep and breakfast, stay here.

"Close to airport, the right price!"
Shuttle to the Albany airport in 7 minutes. Close to a myriad of restaurants on Wolf Road. A new name, but still the same Best Western. Rooms clean, spacious. $99 +tax for park and fly. Front desk check in easy. Attendant friendly and helpful. Perfect before your flight!

"Cold pool"
We stayed at this hotel to get away with the kids (3,5) to enjoy the pool. We arrived and checked in, got ready to go to the pool, arrived at the pool area and the room was freezing, and the water was ice cold. Told the desk and they acted like they didn't even care

"Albany Trip"
Bathroom shower rusty and moldy Beds had hair and stains on the sheets that were tucked and covered up. Room wall had large water stains on the ceilings. Rooms had a musty order. Bathroom floor was sticky from the product they used to clean the floor.

"Great value for the cost!!"
It looked like they were remodeling the hotel which did need to be updated but it was still very clean and my only complaint would be the coffee maker was not clean. The bed was comfortable and we were in an awesome location right off of I-90. Very friendly staff coming in and going out. Thank you!!

"Not So Comforting"
If you need to move in the bathroom, this is not the place. You have to straddle the toilet to close the door behind you. The shower never gets hot or relaxing, pressure wise. Only had 2 bath towels for a 4 person room, staying 2 nights. The pool is much smaller than the picture and is lacking a hot tub. The rooms are cleaned moderately, but could be better. I found an old used soda cup under my bed that was super sticky. The walls are thin, as I could hear everything in the hallway and in the room next to me. This was my first stay at this location and my last.

"Always a very pleasant experience"
We have stayed here several times previously and have always been satisfied. There is a swimming pool (Water warm but air cool because it occupies a large, open indoor area) and an ample breakfast which consists of fruit, yogurt, juice, waffles, pancakes, and eggs. The rooms have always been clean and on occasion when we might have forgotten something, they always were happy to oblige with a missing amenity. Wi-fi seemed good.

"Very Convenient Location to Airport"
Accessible Room was clean and spacious. I had problem adjusting heat at a comfortable level. The room was too dry and needed a humidifier. The staff was very helpful. However, breakfast needs to be improved with omelette or boiled eggs and freshly cut fruit. Great place to leave the car for a week.

"uhm very low priced.....the bar is nice the food is good but"
I checked in somehow someone didn't get my card info. After I was upstairs in the tub, I get a FRANTIC call about my bar bill demanding a card to pay. I was like what? Then I unplugged my phone due to repeated calls regarding this. Then someone tried to get into my room thru the adjoining door! I went down to PAY for my bill - how the hell did I CHECK IN with no card? (right) Then I was leaving this a.m only to find that they do NOT provide any secured luggage check. NONE - Best Western does not consider this a STANDARD , I asked if all rooms are required to carry mattresses! Ridiculous. Its also VERY COLD in winter. VERY colllld! Donna bartender is great and the chef who worked 3/8/19 with her - Chris? I dont know..great cook! Drinks are low priced. Bar was cold though. (67degrees)

"Scam scam scam!"
I booked 2 rooms threw bookings.com I specially looked for a 5star treatment as I was traveling and needed to me comfortable. I made reservations ahead of time I was advised check in was 4pm check out was 4pm I arrived at the location akia booked me for a room that already had people in it I went back down to the frount desk and waited for assistance as she was busy on the phone a hour later I was able to check in i got rooms 119 and 144 the second time the room had somebody's clothes left behind as it proved to not be cleaned the pool had no towels and the breakfast was cold and very little food (I went down soon after they started serving) at 11 the room key stopped working I went to the frount desk and was advised I was not able to get in the room because check out was at 11 I stated I payed until 4 and tameka told me i would need to pay an additional 69.00$ in order to get my belongings out of the room after insisting I was getting my belongings out of the room I was let in to very quickly pack my stuff and leave I left my daughters light behind witch she needs for sleeping because I was rushed I was not treated in an ethical way and I feel I was robbed I payed 113.00$ for each room and I was not able to stay for the time I payed for and was treated bad I would like a resolution and the time that I was not able to stay that I payed for.

"Do not stay at this hotel"
The bathrooms are dirty, the pool area is a freezer and the water is not warm enough for that cold area. They charged me $69 for checking out an hour late on 2 out of the 5 rooms I rented but charged me 69 for 5 rooms. the wifi sucks. The front desk people are rude!! Asked for towels never got any. I ended up checking into the hotel next door.
"Wouldn't Recommend"
We stayed at this hotel one other time about a year ago and it wasn't that bad. We were returning home from a roadtrip so we just needed a place to sleep for the night. When we arrived at our room after checking in we noticed that the room across from us was playing their music rather loud. No big deal we figured they would turn it down by 10. 10 came the music was still loud so we thought maybe by 11 they would turn it down. It was still playing unreasonably loud at 11:45. We are talking teenagers riding around in the summer in their sports cars with their windows down loud and that was from our room. We called the front desk to report it, the guy said he would take care of it. A few minutes later we hear him tell the lady in the room that we complained and said her music was too loud and the lady's response stating that it was us. The right thing for the front desk guy to do was to go tell the lady her music was too loud and ask her to turn it down. There was no need for him to tell her who did it. The lady and her friends in the surrounding rooms decided to spend the rest of the night slamming their doors, having loud conversations and giggling outside of our door, knocking on the ladys door and yelling housekeeping, going into the (inside) pool area which states it closes at 9 pm and making noise which echos really loudly. Just to make sure our stay was extra wonderful our bathroom was also loaded with ants. I love Best Western and the Albany area so I'm sad that this hotel is such a disappointment! I will state that when we stayed at this hotel a year ago I'm pretty sure it was a Best Western this time it was called "SureStay by Best Western." I'm not sure what the SureStay means as I've never stayed at one.

"Should've stayed at Motel 6"
I would NOT recommend this hotel. I stayed for 1 night and upon check in the front desk clerk was unable to answer any of my questions. She wasn't helpful and I hoped the room would make up for the service. I paid for a queen size room with 2 queen beds. The room was "the same size as all the other rooms" (meaning a standard double room) and the bathroom was clearly skipped during the last round of cleaning. The only positive was that the bar soap was made with argan oil (great for skin) and the morning clerk was able to answer my questions from the previous night. Overall the hotel suited my needs but I won't be staying there again.

"Conveniently located"
This place is ok not bad but not great. The price wasn't bad could have been a little cheaper but specifically for a week day night. The 1st time I stayed in a Sure stay. Breakfast was not bad at all. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Plenty of parking.
"Great hotel"
Great hotel, nice prices. Nice pool everything was great . Had a slight problem with the keycard 3 times during my stay but the front desk handled it quickly and was very nice about it. Lots of places to eat around the area
"Comfortable and clean"
I had a flight cancellation and ended up in Albany overnight. My husband, back home, made me a reservation for me at this Best Western. As I sat in the airport, I looked at the reviews on TripAdvisor, they were not encouraging. However, I had a very pleasant experience. The nice warm courtesy van picked me up at the airport at midnight in a snowstorm. Very friendly staff checked me right in, my room was fresh, clean and comfortable. I didn't make it to breakfast because I slept in, can't comment on that. The common areas aren't luxurious, but it looks like some updating is going on. No complaints from me! Also, bonus, there's a fridge and microwave in the room.
"Nobody knew what to do"
The hotel was cold. I was charged an extra $15 and nobody could tell me why. The breakfast was cold The pool area was freezing. I wish I could have went to the hotelBefore I booked it because the pictures made it look perfect!!
"Avoid this hotel, especially in the snow"
Walkways not cleared; had to drag suitcases through knee deep snow and then go up snow covered stairs. Found room unmade from last guest and when housekeeping came to clean she left a dirty rag on the bed when done. Gross. Heater did not work (set for 75, reached 69) and doors & windows not sealed - you feel the cold air coming in. Wanted to change rooms but that meant dragging suitcases in the snow again.
"Great Value"
We stayed here a couple of weeks ago. Went swimming in the pool and had a delicious breakfast. The staff was very accommodating and helpful. Even the welcoming cookies when we signed in were delicious!
"Needs major repair"
Indoor pool not usable. It was 40 degrees in the pool area with no heat and mold in the shower. No heat in the breakfast room. The only thing good was the shuttle to the airport. If you are picking the hotel for the pool don't go.
"This was a Best Western years back and has seen to have gone down hill a bit."
Place was clean, service was slow but nice. No hand grabs in shower so seniors beware, noisy bathroom fan, and Small Bathrooms. Shower hot water slow in coming but it comes in time. Breakfast was limited but nice. Not a bad place to stay but I would not go out of my way to stay there either.
"Dissapointing Experience- Bed Bugs"
My mother and I have stayed at this hotel annually for several years and never had any major issues, however our most recent experience was extremely dissapointing and we will surely not ever stay there again. After staying two nights at the hotel we noticed a number of bites on both of our bodies. As it was the middle of winter we knew that it could be mosquito bites we complained to the front desk that we believed we were bitten by bed bugs. We were told that a manager was not on site, but that this would be looked into and we would be contacted. We were not contacted by anyone. We filled out the online survey and received an extremely generic response that did not address the issue we brought up (bed bugs). We have attempted to call and email management to discuss the issue and have not received any response within the past week. Photos Attached.
"group"
fine great service great breakfast and nice conference room good restaurants on main rd, clear parking lot, help unloading goods into hotel. Hotel sleeping rooms are fine with plenty hot water, Staff always around to adjust problems.
