"not what i booked at all"

The room had only a double bed when I ordered a king. Very bad odor. Very noisy outside and inside. Could hear the people in other rooms, could hear them outside our room. The heating and water was extremely noisy all night. The springs in the bed dug into my back. But the internet was okay

"Horrible place allt he way around! Bugs, slim on mirror, clilentele in parkinlot"

This place is nasty and should just be avoided. I had to move rooms as the first one had a non-functional shower, bugs, a fridge that was so loud you couldn't hear yourself and was right by the very loud stairwell. Second room was better but lacked towels and no re-stock of coffee. Hot tub was not working the entire stay of 4 days (although looking at the green pool probably would never have used the hot tub anyway). Management seemed nice but very clueless as to the condition of the hotel.

"Worst neighborhood ever."

If you have a family stay away. Area surrounding property is infested by homeless drug addicts motel and motel is rundown. Hotel staff was good but that didn't make up for crackheads wandering around the parking lot all night long. I would have thought as a best western it would have been better.

Absolutely horrible. Best Western should not have their name associated with this property. It is filthy, falling apart and in desperate need of repairs. There was a hole in the bathroom wall that was stuffed with tissue. Chairs were so filthy that I didn't even want to put a plastic bag on them.

"This place needs a facelift"

The location is convenient to the highway - that's the kindest thing I can say about this place. This hotel is very shabby and needs lots of work. For the price of the rooms, I sure expected more. The curtains were very difficult to open and close and there were no sheers to close for privacy, just light-out drapes, so it was either no drapes and no privacy or total darkness. The towels were tiny and well used (thin) - they must have been using them since the 70"s. We were staying there with a group using 3 rooms, and although the beds in our room were alright, the beds in the other two rooms were terrible. My family complained and asked to be moved to another room, but the request was ignored and they ended up spending another night on poor beds. I do have to say that the housecleaning staff were very kind and friendly. Some of our family checked out first and paid for all the rooms at that point. When we checked out 2 days later, there was a problem - the front desk tried to charge us for our room even though it was already paid. I did not like the way we were treated like we hadn't paid, and it took quite a bit of time to straighten it out. I can't really recommend staying here - there were other hotels in the same area and I would try them instead.

"Worst hotel I've stayed at in awhile"

Dark, dirty, and unsafe! As two women traveling together, safety is really important to us, and this was one of the worst experiences I've had in a long time. The parking lot is not terribly well lit, and there were some interesting characters loitering around the lot. The rooms are dirty, we couldn't bring ourselves to remove our shoes or socks. We touched as little as possible. The hotel is in disrepair - there was a hole in our bathroom from where the stopper for the door had bee. You could see the stopper had pushed through the wall and had fallen down a bit, while the rest of the hole was plugged with some paper. The mold in the washroom was disgusting and the hair in the bathtub said everything about how well everything was cleaned. We were glad we were only staying for 12 hours.

"Disaster that could have been avoided"

This hotel need to be completely reviewed by Best Western! From stem to Stern! The experience started with the room officially not being ready at 4:00 in the afternoon, and was not ready even when we were given access. A painting on the wall was upside-down and when I checked to confirm this I found a pornographic drawing behind it. There was pubic hair in the bathtub. A neighbour warned us to park our car in the light next to the building as his vehicle was broken into the night before. There was someone sleeping under that stairs in the rain, when I returned form my day of business. The building is beside a temporary truck parking lot, and the back up alarms commenced at 3:00 am. and on and on...!

"poor workmanship"

place is under some renovations, upgrading floors and painting. Who ever is doing the painting has poor work habits, over paint every where. Makes the room look messy, had some cleaning issues, floor felt gritty and some hair in bathroom

"Don't stay here"

We left after an hour in the room. It was noisy, dirty, small, dark and the bed was old. We had used rewards points on this room which made the program seem useless. Left here and went to super 8 down the street which was much better.

"One night stay."

We did not enjoy our stay. The bed skirt was unclean the walls were dirty. Found a lot of hair in our bed. We had issues with our resuvation as well. The only good part was the alarm clock and ports to charge our phones. It does look like their renovating, so maybe it will get better. If you just need it sleep for the night it's ok. Not good for long term stay. Cost too much for what you get.

"Great Location to Catch the Ferry"

The Best Part is they allow pets! This is always the 1st thing we look for as we travel with a medium size dog. They lady at night was exceptional & very helpful & informative. It was a clean hotel & we left too early to say whether breakfast was good or no. Good choice for short stay.

"Forewarned is forearmed"

This place is a disaster. We had a reservation and pulled into the parking lot which was littered with trash. No one was at the desk and we waited for 10 minutes for the front desk clerk to show up. While waiting we went into the pool room, the water was a slimy green and the drinking fountain was filthy. The bathroom was dated, but clean. When the clerk finally showed up I was let into the lobby which was half full of construction material. I asked to see the room before I checked in, and happy I did so. The bathroom was disgusting and the toilet had a smear of what appeared to be feces on the outside of the bowl. Well that was enough for us. But the final insult was the clerk taking issue with our complaints. I suggest checking out the Best Western Plus Regency center just down the road.

"Great stay"

My family got in late too check in at the hotel but the check in was fast and courteous. We got settled in both rooms without a hitch except not getting a parking spot in front of our room. At check out it was quick

"Comfortable stay and Outstanding Front Desk Service"

Room and overall A+ and served the purpose well.Billing glitch caused by Guests Error was handled with same friendly and professional manner as was Check In experience with added helping of swift convenient resolution and dash of respect to ease my notch service by this female employee!

"Terrible grounds, littered with cigarette butts and dirty room"

We stayed here August 3, 2018. The hotel is in poor condition with cigarette butts all over the outside parking area. The grounds are not maintained and there is no green space for a dog to do its business. The room had pink sticky stuff on the coverlet and on the floor. There was a used glass with toothpaste on it in the sink area. The stand up lamp was broken and the door lock was useable but broken. The hotel encouraged smokers to use an erected bucket just outside the door to extinguish their butts (about 3 feet away from the door). I would never recommend anyone stay here if they are expecting a Best Western standard. This is by far a sub-standard accommodation.

"I refused to sleep here"

I had reserved a room for August 21. When I reserve a room at a budget hotel, I expect the hotel to be clean, comfortable and safe. I checked in after a 10 hour drive on one of the smokiest days caused by the forest fires. I was given a ground level room less than 10 feet from a busy road (technically it's called HIGHWAY 11). The room was hot and stuffy. There was no thermostat. The window was open and had bars on it; someone would be able to stand and look in or, worse, throw something into the room (there were hedges at the end of the property but it was not secure and a homeless camp was across the street). As a woman travelling alone, I did not feel safe. I returned to the office, had to wait more than 10 minutes for the clerk to return and asked for a different room (saying I would pay the difference). I explained that the room was hot and stuffy and that I did not feel safe. I was told there was air conditioning in the room but it was controlled in the main reception. The clerk rudely told me the room would be comfortable within 15 minutes and there were no other rooms available. Back in the room, I realized the Wifi didn't work and there were black hairs hidden under the bar of soap on the sink. Major booking sites online also told me rooms were available. 15 minutes later, the room was still cooking and there was no way I was sleeping beside a major road with the window wide open. I told the clerk I was leaving and had been in the room for less than 20 minutes. Not surprising, she just shrugged and I was not offered a refund and was charged over $100 for the night, I paid for a room which is was not clean, not comfortable and not safe. Not only was the service shameful but I believe the ad for the room is deceitful.

"Great hotel"

Check in and check out were fast, nice staff, clean and tidy room, air conditioning worked great. Having kids with you it was great having a restaurant right there. Kids loves the pool. Would defiantly stay again.

"Worst accommodation ever!"

This is honestly the worst accommodation we have ever had! The bathroom was filthy, the bed linens were sketchy, still garbage in the cans - creeped us out to stay there. On the up side, the air conditioning worked! DO NOT STAY THERE!!!!!

"worst stay ever"

Bed totally uncomfortable. Old mattress. We kept rolling to the middle of the mattress. Musty smell in room. Very loud A/C. Kept waking us up every time it came on. Definitely not up to Best Western standards.

"Do not stay here"

We checked in and were advised by a departing customer to check our beds before staying the night. Sure enough, pulling back the sheet (which was not even a fitted sheet but just a top sheet) I found bed bugs. Visible. Bed. Bugs. When we alerted the hotel staff they seemed neither surprised nor particularly interested. They refunded our rate and we went on our way.

"Staff great hotel stinky and dirty"

It did not look like the photos. How this is a 2 1/2 star and the Coast Hotel down the road is only a 3 star?? Staff friendly and helpful at finding a restaurant. So so stinky. Bizzare upgrades in all the wrong places. Beds awful. Smell of room made me gag. A/C so so old loud and stinky. They are installing very nice tile around the Motel. They have nice new rainshower heads but the tub was diagusting and stained. They have nice TV's but the furniture in the room is so dated and STAINED.

"Filthy, Unsanitary, Disgusting"

As a Diamond member, I have stayed in many different Best Western motels. This was by far the worst. Our pull-out bed was unmade and had hair all over it. The sink appeared to have backed up and filled with dirt. There was hair all over the shower. The room reeked of cigarette smoke. There stains everywhere. This place was so far below acceptable standards and I cannot understand how it continues to carry the Best Western name.

"Don't believe what you see"

Dreary room, lights not plugged in, no bath towels but that didn't matter because there was no hot water., really comfortable bed. $206 for one night at the worst Best Western ever. The room was found and booked through Best Western with the only thing in its favour being

"As bad as it gets"

This stay was a nightmare right from the get go. The room I was checked into was clearly a room that had been smoked in, despite my reservation for a non-smoking room. When I asked the clerk for a different room, she stated it would be an hour and she would call me. She never did, and when I went to the desk to ask her, she said

Imran J, Manager at Best Western Bakerview Inn, responded to this review
Our rooms are all non-smoking and we strictly enforce this with our guests. We apologize for any issues you may have had, and hope to get an opportunity to impress you in the near future.

"Would not pass BW inspection or standards. "

My husband and I have stayed at almost every Best Western in the lower mainland and Vancouver area. We have stayed at the Bakerview before, and it was...acceptable. We don't have high standards by any means, but this time was horrible enough for me to leave this review (I'm writing it in our hotel room as we speak). First, we are met by a large stain on the floor at the doorway. The room smells similar to cat urine, as well. Then, we see that the door chain guard is completely missing, and ripped out of the frame. There are blood stains on the sheets, and that in itself got me going (and again, as a seasoned traveler in several countries staying in hostels in both third and first world countries, I reiterate that my tolerance is high). The thing that really tipped everything over the edge? Urine on the toilet seat, missing toilet paper (literally not a sheet of TP to be found) and dirt on the bottom of the tub. We called the front desk, and the lady there was very helpful, thankfully. She was the only employee working tonight and the Inn was fully booked, so while we weren't able to change rooms, she did come up and clean our toilet for us- beyond her job description. That was the only silver lining of our night- kudos to her. Clearly the housekeeping staff need to be reviewed... Perhaps this was a one off night but this is totally inexcusable for this level of hospitality industry standard. This is a Best Western, not a hostel in Europe, where we'd be a little bit more forgiving of these types of situation. What will determine whether this is a Best Western that sticks to policies and regulations is whether the manager will actually follow up on this. My husband is a past BW employee and due to his extensive experience in the industry, we know the ins and outs of this business. Totally unacceptable, and not worth our time or money.

"terrible service"

when we arrived the room was dirty no coffee, sugar or whitener in the room.the room was booked for 3 days and the staff would not clean our room or change towels the next day until we complained to the manager also the shower curtain had dried mucus all over the inside of it and the staff were so rude about us insisting that it be changed they advertised free continental breakfast but when we went down there first thing in the morning we were informed that they no longer do that service sucked will never stay there again this hotel gives a black eye to all best western hotels

"Bad hotel"

Price was right. Bathroom tolit overflowed, walked from my room (room # 129) at 6 am to front desk and talked to the gentelman, he told me "a man within 10 minutes will come to the room to fix it", then, no show as he ignored the problem. We left the hotel room without using the bathroom as we used Mac rest room in our way to vancouver. I will never stay there again as close by hotels look much better exteriors.

"Would Not Reccomend"

I would not recommend this place to anyone. My daughters and I came into town to visit family. We got the hotel room for comfort, and so my kids can have some enjoyment staying in a hotel. First room we were put in, was not cleaned. It had someone's left over food in the fridge, popcorn in the desk and snack stuff in the drawers. Second room had a huge stain on the floor, stains on the chairs like some one had wet themselves and the curtain could not close all the way. I requested extra pillows, and did not receive them. I also asked for more coffee pods on the second day, as we stayed 2 nights, and they never brought us any. There was 1 set of shampoo and conditioner, when we were 3 people. Also the room was not turned down at all on our second day, and we had to go get towels ourselves from the staff. Very disappointing stay. If we do stay in a hotel again, this establishment is not one I will look to, as the visit was just not what anyone should deal with when the cost is so high.

"Clean Rooms"

Always stay at BW Bakerview Inn because of the consistent quality service, quiet, clean rooms, clean carpet Bed was comfortable. Very caring staff and management always provides with extra towels if needed. Enjoyed pool and jacuzzi highly recommended.

"Terrible place to stay!!!"

Stayed here last week for 5 days. After staying here on my 1st night, my towels were changed but my room was not cleaned, nor was my bed made. Room not made up on the 2nd or 3rd days either - had to call front desk for clean towels on both of these days. Also complained about Internet not working. 4th day room was finally cleaned. 5th day, I called front desk about their internet not working again. Was told that Internet was working fine in lobby, I could come there to get service. I explained that I was in town on business & could hardly set up office in their lobby - no reply... Decided to give this place another chance as I got a good deal on Priceline. I called before booking the Priceline deal to make sure I could have 2 beds in the room as I was staying this time with my nephew (who I was bringing to Abbotsford for surgery) & was told that 2 beds would be guaranteed. I then booked through Priceline. I then called the hotel back with my confirmation # to ensure I had 2 beds. I was told that I had a room booked with 2 beds. When I arrived to check in, I had a room with only 1 bed. Of course they were booked solid so I couldn't get a room with 2 beds, but I could get a cot (well, we all know what those are like to sleep on :(. Got to our room & was already kind of frustrated only to find my room key didn't work. When they arrived with the cot, they opened our room door & took my room key to replace with 1 that would work. As I waited for my new room key, I decided to get ready for bed - no face cloths. So I called front desk to bring some. I went to lay on my bed till they brought me a room key & face cloth only to find a big black pubic hair on my pillow - not weaved into the pillowcase from laundry, but just lying on top. Phoned front desk for a bedding change - they brought me another pillow. Then as I was getting into bed, I stepped on sunglasses that were on the floor at the foot of my bed. I'm having a hard time seeing how this room was ever cleaned from the previous guest(s). NEVER will I Stay here again & if you're smart, you won't ever book at this hotel.

"Horrible, smelly motel"

This Best Western property really cheapens the BW brand. The non-smoking rooms stink of stale cigarette smoke and the A/C produces musty air. My room was dirty and the whole facility was very tired-looking. I was grossed out by the fact that the blankets on the beds (which aren't washed after every visit) were placed underneath the bedsheets. It was barely tolerable for the one night we stayed there.

"Horrible management - double billed"

Best Western was a company I trusted and sought out whenever travels found me looking for accommodations. We booked our stay at this horrid place as a transitional night between 2 holidays. I have been ill for 2 years and was finally able to take a trip. My COPD medical condition required me to get a non smoking room and this was conveyed by expedia who booked AND PAID FOR this accommodation. Upon arrival, the night of June 15, 2018, my wife went into the office to get our room number and check in. I waited in the vehicle outside and was treated to a 10 minute nude excapde provided by a very fat chinese person and a brown guy who enjoyed playing with his private parts all while families are checking in, walking by and looking into the pool area to see this fat chinese guy repeatedly open and close his towel turning in every direction to show everyone his privates If it wasn't so late i'd have left right there. Management has a CLEAR VIEW of that pool from the check in counter, and Nothing was done. We got our room and after a 15 hour drive was treated to a trail through the bush to get to the sidewalk where my room was. I tripped on a sucker root from your lovely horribly maintained bush and dropped both suitcases, fell forward into a tin can full of cigarette butts and spittoon juice spilling the entire contents all over a Green Bay Packers Jacket that was a gift from a friend at Lambeau stadium. Having my arm soaked in cigarette juice and god knows what severely ticked me off, although it was nice of the 6 people smoking next door to try and pick me up off the ground. I was limping after twisting my artificial right knee in the fall. Did I mention the crappyy TRAIL between the bushes, oh ya, I did. This was supposed to be in a NON SMOKING area. People were smoking right outside our door and the air conditioner was pumping it right into my room. We left at 6 am because my lungs couldn't take it anymore. The damage was done. We had to call the front desk to get the tv to work and when we complained about the smoking we got the “ Deer in the headlights “ blanc look from the night manager. Again, nothing done. DON'T advertise non smoking rooms if people can smoke right outside. This was a clear case of “ if we can't stop them, we'll supply them private cans nails to sticks to keep the butts off the sidewalk”. True call people, and you bet I can prove that. To top everything off, these shysters billed our card 2 days after we left, without our consent for $162.39 Expedia arranged and prepaid the room. WE ARE TALKING FRAUD HERE AND IM mad ENOUGH TO PUSH IT. I want a full refund for the double bill and a full refund for our stay that night as it was hardly a Best Western Experience. I'd fire the management or sell it. I can provide proof of all charges and will supply copies if requested. Im sure Randy and Lori Cameron booked in at the Best Western Bakerview Inn at 1821-Sums Way might add credibility where needed. The worst part here isn't returning the money, it's I NO Longer trust the Best Western Name or Branding. That will haunt you for years to come everytime someone asks advise where to stay. Cancel my membership i never carried the card anyway. I was less interested in your stinking points than a stay in a quality hotel/motel/ hostile or whatever your turning into with this kind of management. Ever want it cleaned up, i'll fix that place in a big hurry. Randy Cameron Ex- Loyal Customer

"Best Wester Bakerview - from a Diamond Select Member"

Terrible hotel, not at all as advertised: - Desk staff were not courteous - Pavement on walkways was broken up...actually sprained my ankle and reported it at the desk, but attendant just took a note and I doubt passed it on to management - Room door did not close properly unless you slammed your body into it - Fridge did not work properly - Furniture cushions were hand stained and holes were hand repaired - Beds were ridiculous...old spring coil mattresses that sagged 4 ways (So bad I took pictures) - Duvet on the bed was threadbare and had wear holes in it - Ceiling was stained with some sort of liquid - There were cobwebs in 2 of the upper corners of the room - The tv package is almost non-existant...very few channels Listen this is a 2 star (motel) at best...certainly not the 3 star (hotel) advertised. I travel on business all year and average anywhere from 100 to 150 nights a year in hotel rooms. I stay in very nice

Stay away, seriously! We were there 6 nights, four of which we had no hot water. The hot tub did not work, the pool was ice cold, the a/c did not work. There is no breakfast. Housekeeping was almost non-existent. We cleaned our room one day ourselves because they never came. Cable tv and wifi were spotty, at best. Wallpaper is peeling off the wall. We tried to change hotels but everything else nearby was full.

"Worst hotel stay ever"

Here are your issues. Day 1 The mattress in the folding couch is at least 15 years old and I was unable to sleep on it because it would not even lay flat on the frame. So I had to sleep on the floor. I asked the front desk they said they couldn't help me. Day 2&3 No room cleaning after we returned to the room. I called to the front desk and they said someone had called in sick and that they would get to us mind you it's was 6pm don't need it cleaned anymore. Day 5 called down to front desk to explain what was up with the hot water they explained someone is coming out. So no shower this day. Day 6 we tried to shower at night before bed but has the same issues no hot water. We called the front desk again they said the same thing we will call someone out. But still no hot water to shower. Day 7 was the worst we tried to shower at night no hot water we tried again the morning no hot water. This is just ridiculous. On one of the days we tried to use your washer and dryer someone had stolen the money and was non operating. I believe that the only way I would ever consider staying at a Best Western ever again is with a full reimbursement. I was traveling on vacation with my family. We were traveling for my daughters softball tournament at the Canada cup. Do u think it was ok for my daughter to not shower for 3 days playing softball all day. This is unacceptable.

"Dealers and cigarette butts everywhere"

This hotel used to be a great place to stay untill very recently...many many ethnic prople with man purses up at all hours doing lord knows what. Room had a missing smoke detector, the A/C unit was filthy. The drug dealing and prostitution has just put the final nail in this hotels coffin...hopefully they lose the best western brand name..they dont deserve it

"Fancy(er) Motel"

Easy to find right off the highway and considering not overly nosy. Rooms have been refurbished but smell of cigarette and musty. AC units are old but you can turn it off and open windows. Lighting is energy efficient colder type lights but light fixtures help with the tone. Main complaint was the smell and motel style so people keep walking by the window which forces you to close the curtains. Corners in bathroom were not super clean, kleenex box had toothpaste on it - combined with the smell left an impression of not overly clean.

The staff was polite and accommodating enough. The room itself was a bit dated, worn, and tired but seemed adequately clean. Conveniently located to major roads/highways but not much else. Would recommend this hotel if you're after a strictly utilitarian place to stay, not if you expect to be wowed.

"Worst hotel ever"

Doors wouldn't open needed maintenance , coffee machine didn't work , no breakfast unless u pay , pool didn't work , very run down , it's in a bad area so if you want stay at best western go to other one in Abbotsford

"Not up to Best Western standards"

I've stayed in multiple Best Western hotels, mostly in the USA, and have been happy with the accommodations. This motel is tired, does not meet quality standards. Front desk staff were friendly & I suppose the price was right.

"Not qualified to be called a best anything."

At 11pm the big rigs out front started up their trucks and warmed them up. At 5am the Sperry Rig started up and warmed up their diesel engines. A very ethnic group of families was on the upper floors and were outside face timing with others of their ilk and yelling and screaming into the phone. Staff did nothing despite repeated complaints. We normally stay in Best Western Pluses but we were just disgusted with this place. I made the mistake of prepaying before i saw it so couldn't drive past. Smokers are all over the place. If you have a window open you midas well be a chain smoker.

"Great staff and convenient location"

Really enjoyed the staff during check in and were really helpful when deciding where to eat in Abbotsford. Also very convenient location close to the high way and loved the clean hot tub. Would recommend a stay forsure. ESP if hotel prices in Vancouver are high. Short and scenic drive away.

"Very disappointed never again"

We booked our room a week in advance for April 27 for two nights and four adults. Upon arriving to our room it appeared to be alright but...then on the floor in the corner where the suitcase rack was there was used Kleenex, in the freezer was an empty frozen dinner box and to top things off we only had two bath towels, one hand towel and one face cloth for four people. When asked for more towels we were given pool towels. The next day with our 2yr old grandson we got ready for the pool to only find out it was out of service, not good! The Super 8 next door was awesome! Our other son was staying there, thankfully! That's where we'll go next time. Awesome waterslide, pool, hot tub and gym area. When checking out the lady at the front desk asked how ouyr stay was, I told her my complaints and she wrote them down. We ended up with three adults and one child, we got no discount at all for any of the above complaints. We will never stay there again! The only plus thing about the room was the shower head Lol Awesome shower hehe

"Terrible and dirty"

Won't stay there again. Dirty and rooms smelled. Two rooms were selling drugs and it couldn't have been more obvious. Just a filthy dirty smelly place and I will never take my family there again. Addicts walking around the parking lot picking up cigarette butts, as they were everywhere. It was quite disgusting.

"Horrible Experience. No Customer service."

I had a confirmed reservation that was booked 3 months ago for a room with 2 queen beds. Upon checking in we were told someone at the office had changed our room on the computer to a single bed room. The room we were given was #170 which is a makeshift room next to the lobby, 20 feet from Highway 11. Extremely noisy, small and dirty!!! There was no apology for their mistake. I checked out the rooms of others from our team and our room was terrible. I was charged the same for a much smaller room that was dirty and also next to the highway. I asked for a discount for the single bed vs my original booking and was told to email the manager (Sharz). I emailed the manager to voice my complaint and he did not even bother to respond either by phone or email. Unbelievably poor customer service and a disgusting room as well. I will never stay here again!

"Terrible hotel and worse customer service"

We had a reservation for 2 nights that was booked 3 months in advance. Prior to arrival, we received a phone call offering us a "complementary upgrade" to a junior suite, which we happily accepted (thinking we were very lucky). Upon check-in, we were informed that there had been some sort of mix up and they would work very hard to be able to keep us in the offered room - if not, they would "figure something out". With some further questioning, we learned that this meant there was no room available for us on the second night but the front desk clerk assured us they would work something out. We expressed our disappointment that this had not been disclosed when discussing the "upgrade" as we would not have accepted it if we had known it potentially meant moving to another room (we had plans for the entire next day and would not be available during the day to move). There was no apology for any mix up or inconvenience. Upon arrival to our "junior suite", we found a very dated, run down room. There was a large stain in the carpet and the furniture and cabinets were covered in marks and stains. It was disappointing to think this was an "upgrade" to say the least. There were 2 TVs in the room and 1 remote. There were 2 bath towels, 2 bath mats and one face cloth for 3 people (no hand towels). There were no pillows or extra blankets for the pull out couch. Also, we had to move a chair to be able to extend the pull out the full but the space available was so small, the only place to put the chair (extremely heavy by the way) was in front of the door to room (very likely a fire code violation). When we asked for more towels and pillows, the front desk clerk indicated there were only pool towels available as there were "lots of teenage girls staying at the hotel so they had taken all the towels". The pull out mattress was terribly thin and extremely uncomfortable. Our daughter woke up with back pain from sleeping on this (she's only 16 - an unusual complaint for her). We slept with road noise and the noise from the walkway outside and above our room (the walkway was covered in only plywood and therefore very noisy with any footsteps). Everyone's sleep was terrible as a result of the uncomfortable mattress and noisy environment. Additionally, the pool was out of order for the duration of our stay. The next morning, we checked in with the front desk about the state of our 2nd night's stay - we were told by a different clerk that we were only booked for one night and the hotel was full (i.e. there was no room for us, nor would there be). I showed him our original email confirmation clearly indicating we had a reservation for 2 nights. He simply shrugged his shoulders - again no apology for any inconvenience nor was there any attempt to help remedy our situation. We had booked this stay for the Volleyball BC Provincials tournament so there were no rooms left elsewhere in Abbotsford - forcing us to take a room 35km away in Chilliwack. To say the least, we were extremely disappointed in the lack of customer service - we are out a great deal of time and money due to this mistake and there was not even a hint of an apology, nor any attempt to rectify the situation at all. We would not recommend this hotel to anyone, for any reason. There was another family that were in the same situation as us and were forced to find a different hotel for the 2nd night of their stay as well. The others in our group received poor customer service and were disappointed in their rooms as well.

"good sleep, no tv"

The motel is clean, and staff friendly but when we told desk staff tv did not work, nothing was done about it. That did put a damper on the experience at the hotel. Overall if not for that I would have rated this Motel much higher

"sewer/plumbing issue"

when i told the front desk the issue after she spoke to head housekeeper was told this was a known issue for that room...also the transition piece from bathroom to bed area was loose and i slipped on tub not hot and pool closed

We stayed at the Bakerview Inn for business and were sorely disappointed. The rooms were old and run down, with embedded objects in the carpet (I found earings, bobby pins...) And the exterior stairs to get to my room on the second floor were uneven. The general location is nice (with mountain views) and convenient (including a Wal Mart around the corner), although the parking lot seemed to attract some seedy activity after sunset. This property was certainly not up to Best Western standards!

"Stay at the Best Western Bakerview"

Once we arrived the check-in procedure was handle quickly and we were on our way to the room. This motel may be a little older but the up-keep is great. he room was clean and tidy. There was a restaurant in the same parking lot that we had a great meal at.

"Terrible service "

Arrived at 5:30 for check in and room wasn't ready for 30 min! Kept hearing reasons for being behind in housekeeping instead of a sincere apology and a response to our disappointment. They offered us a coffee while we waited which is ridiculous. 2hr late for check in and a coffee is your offer? Asking what would we would like in order to make up for it or an offer of a discount or late check out would be considered great service. Room was clean but very outdated and had stains on floors and chairs. Room keys didn't work when we came in for the night and we had to walk all the way back to lobby to resolve and there was again no service to remedy our frustration. Instead they accused me of not knowing my room number when they mixed up the name for the room. Finally key was activated and when I pointed out they mixed up the name there was no apology. We saw a lot of guests struggling with the keys at the door and during check in someone was getting key reactivated. Clearly this is an ongoing issue. My advice is to stay somewhere else!!!

"Dirty and worn out"

Someone else's hair in the tub, everything else was dirty, trash bags at the ice machine. A $200 deposit for debit card I am still waiting for my refund! Never again will I stay there! Probably the most disappointing place I have stayed at in years.

"Well located hotel"

Served as a good base for an extended business trip. I would recommend this hotel for persons looking for a budget conscious trip. Location is ideal for anyone requiring easy access to the TransCanada Highway.

"In Need of Updating"

Having never done so before, we stayed for a night at the BW Bakerview Inn on our way back from the US since we're BW Rewards members. We found the property to be dated - parking lot pavement crumbling in places, small block retaining walls fallen down, etc. Our room was clean and it's furnishings, while providing what might typically be expected by guests, were mismatched and in need of updating. Corners of the wallpaper finish was peeling off the walls in places. There was a newer mini fridge, microwave and flat screen tv provided, wifi was adequate. The fan in the bathroom sounded close to a jet engine, way too loud to use for any length of time! There is a small indoor pool and hot tub near the office, never saw anyone use it, might be just fine. The lobby is nondescript and small. The staff we encountered were ok, but no more than that in terms of pleasantness and efficiency. Unlike many BW franchises, there is no breakfast provided with your room, which we have come to expect. There is a private restaurant onsite that shares the same parking lot with the motel, however. We won't stay again at this property as there's other accommodation in Abbotsford that offer comparable rates and, on the outside at least, would seem to be a better option for us.

"Awesome Front Desk & Great Rooms"

Some people as noted here on Trip Advisor had bad experiences.I had no issues while I stayed here and the Lady on the front desk in the afternoon was awesome. This is a Two Star Motor Inn/Motel and is a Best Western but not one of the Higher End Best Westerns.

"Don't go here if you value your life"

I stupidly booked this hotel thinking for 140$ a night it can't be that bad. Oh man. People were making drug deals in the parking lot. Swearing and yelling all night. A huge pit bull dog charged at me with my young daughter when exiting the hotel room. The room smelled like a pack of cigarettes had been smoked just moments before and she tried to tell me she wasn't switching me rooms until I demanded money back. At one point someone pounded on our window at 4 am. This was terrifying

"Room 170 worst room ever!"

I have stayed here over a dozen times and always had a good room. I was given room 170 this time which is right next to the main road. Noise I could not sleep and decided at 2:30 am to just leave and finish my trip east. No AC, unless you open the window and then the noise is even louder. Worst bed ever, I went to sleep in the chair as there is no couch! I was so happy to leave I will never stay here again after being a long time traveller and customer.

"Good Value but Noisy"

For the price the room is good value but expect road noise, trains and possible hourly guests. The booking experience is fairly easy online and rooms are clean and ready upon arrival. Great location for getting a room close to the highway in the Fraser valley but with that dies come some noise.

"Unclean, smells like cigarette smoke, scary parking lot"

We stayed at this location because it was a best western and I really like the BW brand. The entire experience was a nightmare. The room reeked of cigarette smoke, I was awoken to someone swearing and making a drug deal in the parking lot at 630am the first morning and the walkways were littered with cigarette butts and dog feces. My room had bobby pins all over the floor of which I do not use and I was unsure if my towel I left on the floor was haphazardly folded and put back or if I truly got a new towel. The only plus the entire trip was when the manager moved us to a nicer suite because i could not sleep due to the entire room smelling of fresh cigarette smoke as I tried to go to sleep on the first night. The front desk cancelled our reservation after 2 days of a 4 night stay without notifying us after I tried to move our reservation to another BW hotel via the best western customer service phone line. We came back to being locked out of our room with all of our things inside and told our reservation was cancelled. The next morning I had to rebook the following 2 days which was also a horrid nightmare. This staff member who rebooked us was kind. I'll give them that. The 3rd day I slipped on black ice on a walkway severely injuring my knee and the 4th night the power was out and 2 scary men approached us in the parking lot yelling about the hotel staff. The only plus was even with the power outage we were able to access our room. A vehicle revved it's engine in the parking lot every night between 11pm-12am also all 3 nights

"Good hotel , always great staff ."

Very quiet even though semi-truck parking and highway 1 is across street. Always a good stay. But as all hotel you will see a drug deal take place in big parking lot . Restaurant is a good local eatery

"2:15 on Dec 27"

great quality for great affordable price friendly staff quiet convenient to access to number one highway and quick trip to airport close to several coffee shops restaurants and shopping ideal location

"Not impressed"

I had to unclog my own shower drain. The room was smelling funny. There was some dirty tissues behind fourniture in the room. And there was funny business going around in the adjacent room. To noisy, walls are paper tins.

"So So"

Not impressed with the fact that a room for 3 people only had one face cloth, one hand towel and 2 bath towels. I left a card on the door asking hotel staff for more towels and cleaner bedding. Wasn't done the second night.

"Last minute"

My wife and I traveled to Abbotsford last minute and did not have a hotel lined up. the staff were very helpful and accommodating. we used to pool and hot tub, both were clean and the hot tub lived up to the name. We will return.

"Stellar value for money. Great location, good customer service, good restaurant with exceptional deals. Thanks!"

Appreciate this good opportunity to have a safe, affordable, comfortable stay. The room is spacious, the bathroom is great and the towels are fluffy. Internet is fine! A good restaurant is right there and the meal deals are terrific.

"Worst experience and I haven't even checked in my room. "

Check in time is 4pm. Even after requesting early check in. They then tried to give me a room that was totally unacceptable. It had no a/c, smelled really bad and trash on floor. I returned to front desk and was informed that they had 25 rooms cleaned but could not swap me to a clean room and I had to wait for my assigned room. I was forced to wait in the lobby and at the time of writing this review I'm still waiting in lobby for a room. Let's see how room is once I finally get it.

"rooms were not cleaned daily with fresh linen or beds made up as well as management didn't call back or give discount"

stayed 5 nights and never had hotel rooms cleaned with new towels or garbage cleaned unless we went to front desk to get clean towels. management never returned our phone calls after the front desk clerk could not give any discount and said management would call back. old pet feces was even found under a chair in the room on check in day

Able to hear the couple both upstairs and beside. The writer could hear the couple's intimate time in the room above and the couple beside were chronic smokers. The doors are beside each other and each time the smokers went outside to have a cigarette throughout the night, they spoke outside and the sound of the door opening and closing could be heard. People upstairs returned home at approximately the time the bar closed and they were noisy as they brought several people with them. When the majority of the group left, their ride honked the horn to hurry them up, their music was loud and you could hear the car's music being played. When I reported the above mentioned issues to the front desk, I only felt half-listened to and no alternate solutions were offered or provided. I have been a Best Western customer for over 11 years and this was a disappointing experience. I am loyal customer when they have a hotel in the city that I am visiting for both business and pleasure.

"friendly service busy location"

This was a good experience as far as staff and hotel condition, however the location is very busy so expect some traffic noise. Had a beautiful suite on the east end that was clean but close to Sumas Way (highway 11) so had truck noise during the night.

Room was the size of a closet beside the lobby, it was more like a staff quarters, the traffic noise was unbearable, the room wasn't made up. I've stayed at this hotel before and it was alright, but I'll never stay there again.

"Horrible. A 'Tear Down' motel."

Stayed with my daughter for a competition. No room service. 30 year old saggy mattresses. Disgusting brownush hot tub water and pool was gross. Floors were so thin, we were woken at 4am by the guy upstairs and though he was literally going to come through the paper thin ceiling. I went to front to complain, but had two other guests in line in front of me complaining. Horrible.

"Good stay for the price "

This has a nice sized pool and hot tub, the rooms are large and clean. The location is close to a main road and highway but it is quiet considering the location. The staff are nice and the check in and check out process was fast and easy. The only issue I had was the fridge needs to be replaced as every 10 mins or so it would make loud noises for about 15 mins. Other then that it was a good stay would stay here again next time I'm in town.

"BW Bakerview Hotel"

Good, helpful front desk staff, room was nice looking, clean and comfortable, fridge, micro wave ,iron and blow dryer. Had a good comfortable bed. walking distance to several restaurants,Good price would stay again. Comfortable for several days stay

"Don't waste your time"

Very disorganized and disgusting hotel. Rude and pushy staff and cleanliness was not a thing. I would pay more to go somewhere else than waste my time here again and wish I could get my money back as it wasn't worth it.

"Basic hotel in good location"

Good basic hotel/motel located to some amenities and main highway. Everything was in working order in the room and was clean. Friendly front desk staff and were able to accommodate me getting into the room early which was greatly appreciated.

Dirty room, rude staff and sketchy location! I would NOT stay here!!! The housekeepers are pushy, there are drunk homeless people roaming around. No parking with no room and bugs in the room with the tub not draining and broken beds!

"Found a Jewel in Abbotsford"

Was not expecting much from this hotel, had never stayed here barely knew it existed but was very pleased. The staff was helpful and kind and the rooms were clean and large we were in a double queen room and could have fit 2 more beds. Would definitely stay again!

The room looks better on the pictures, but is ok. Can't really complain. We needed a room to stay overnight, for a reasonable price, and we got that. It worth to check out Best Western website, as it was cheaper, then any other online booking sites

"Worst Best Western ever"

The only positive things I can say about this hotel is that the location was where we needed to stay, just across the border in Canada. And it was cheap. But there was no breakfast, and not even a drop of coffee in the room or lobby. We had to eat a disgusting dinner in the restaurant across the parking lot, and were told to go there for breakfast. No coffee? Ridiculous. Don't stay here unless you are desperate.

"Good Stay "

We arrived after a long day driving...the place is dated but so comfortable! The shower was heaven...the bed was extremely comfortable, I was able to fall asleep almost immediately. We only stayed until 5am before we hit the road again so it wasn't an issue about no breakfast.

"Never Again"

A sleepless night at noisy major intersection. Big rigs rolling through all night. Rock hard pillows. Broken A/C unit. No grass on site for furry guests. Will not stay here again. Would not recommend. Crossroads Restaurant on site is great though.

"Budget rooms at a budget price"

Dated property and one that does not serve breakfast however there are lots of food options including a full restaurant in the same parking lot. Everything was in working order and the bed was comfortable and clean. Check in and out was quick and efficient. Price of room is lower than most Best Westerns in the area to reflect that this is not a prime property. I found it a quite acceptable place to stay for a quick overnight business stay but if you are looking for breakfast and a more upscale or modern environment you may want to give place a pass.

"Great place to stay"

Clean, quiet, great value for the money. Only issue was no lights over the bathroom vanity. Staff made every attempt rectify the situation without success. Would definitely stay at this motel again. Easy access to highway.

"Looking for accommodation in Abbotsford"

Great location for our purpose. Close to the US border, lots of restaurants and shopping in close proximity, easy access from the freeway. The facilities were very clean and the price was reasonable. We will definitely stay here on another trip to this area.

"Very Convenient, close to freeway"

I have stayed at this hotel at least 4 times in the past, but this time noticed they had renovated the bathrooms with new fixtures and beds were comfy and clean. Stayed with family from overseas and they were very impressed

"BIG ROOMS! Impressive."

Using CAA discount I got a rate of $90/night average - not bad for Sept 8 & 9, 2017. Front office has some munchies for sale - nothing special, some snacks and drinks. Motel setting so you might be able to park right outside your room - makes for great and easy access. There is a 2nd floor of rooms for those that don't mind stairs or don't get ground access. Only 100 meters off of Hwy 1 but you don't hear the traffic at all. Crossroads Restaurant located in the parking lot. Lots of other places within walking distance including Boston Pizza, Old Spaghetti Factory and Cactus Club. Rooms were HUGE - very impressed. Two queen beds and there was easily enough space for an airmat. The rooms also had a Keurig coffee machine with 4 different k-cups - also very impressive. Nice to have good coffee in the morning. Mid-sized mini-fridge and a microwave. My air conditioner was quite good and worked very well. Whatever the mini bar soap at the vanity sink was that was supplied was of surprisingly good quality. There seems to be some effort to make some of the rooms wheelchair accessible (from parking lot level to room access level) - don't know if that was the plan or what - but it is not great as the small ramps that have been made out of pavement are quite steep. No way a person on their own in a wheelchair could get up. If there were ice on these little ramps I would not want to try to step on them at all. The 'ramp' outside my room was about 35-40 degrees in angle and only 2' long - that's quite steep and short. I'm not sure if this was the intent or if it was a short-term fix with more work planned. At the end of the 'ramp' there was sand and not pavement. A little disappointed to have an old school 70's style round toilet in the washroom - there was plenty of space to have a newer elliptical (oval). Disappointed especially since I was told there would be an elliptical in the room. All in all - I'd recommend this place.

"Bakersview Hotel, Abbortsford"

This Hotel is conveniently located in Abbotsford within 15 minutes from the Abbortsford Airport. Nearby are shopping centres and Restaurants. The Hotel Parking lot is huge and makes parking an easy experience. The Lobby staff is friendly and helpful. Our room was spacious and clean withe a separate bedroom area, the room had 2 TV's, a fridge and a microwave. We had a pleasant relaxing time in the Hotel and will come back soon.

Requested quiet room, got room next to motorway + when people walk past it's load. They weren't able to give us a quieter room when asked. Said we couldn't get a refund either because we booked through

"Abbotsford stay."

Ok stay at hotel. We had to make several requests for an extra cot but after a second request they were prompt at retrieving one for our room. No other problems with the room or staff. It had a small fridge, microwave, iron and ironing board which proved very useful

"If the shower head to the head wasn't enough"

Best part of the stay was the counter girl during check in. She was helpful quick and rather engaged in her job. That's were my good experience ends AC unit was super loud, shower head fell off three times three days in a row. Reported to the front desk, cleaning staff and finally in a last ditch effort to get it fixed I left it in the room by the front door. Each time they didn't change it out they just hung it back up. Was not impressive.

"Noise & Bugs"

Very noisy Not clean & lots of fly's and in my room. Poor service would indicate that there was service. They took there dam time checking me out and check in there was know one at the desk, When my key did not work after check in there was no one at the desk to help me again... I will not stay there again.

Stayed for 3 nights....the was clean, staff were friendly and helpful. I would have given a higher rating but there was a need for improvement in housekeeping.......after returning from a long day our room had not been made up at 5:30 PM. In addition the room make up was never complete with different items not replaced daily (coffee cups, face cloths, etc.).

"Overall a decent place"

Nice cozy Comfortable rooms although the price almost doubles on a Friday and Saturday Night from the rest of the week and was not as advertised on the Best Western Web site. This was attributed to new management. The carpet was pulled up on the plywood walkway in front of the rooms making each passerby very noisy. Staff was great very friendly. The only other issue is the WiFi stops working in the room at midnight the day before checkout. This means no morning of checkout email for you.....

"Worst Experience EVER!!!"

This hotel is the worst I have ever dealt with. They charged me for a night that I didn't stay. I haven tried multiple times to settle things, but they keep placing the blame on me and saying it's my fault. DON't WAIST YOUR TIME or MONEY staying here!!! Please, listen to me from experience!

"Worst accommodation I've ever had!"

We check-in late by the time we got into our room it is smell so bad the washroom sink is unclean, found some hair in the tub, didn't vacuum the carpet we had to sleep on top of the bed cover because we're disgusted how dirty the places are we didn't call the front desk because we arrived very late and so tired driving 17hrs, the room air conditioner is bloody noisy, we had to ask fresh towels because we're so scared to use the towels they have in our bathroom we call front desk and waited for long time thank goodness the housekeeping is around because I think the front desk forgotten about it. The hotel need to freshen up the interior and exterior. Thanks

"Stay away"

The room we booked was smoked in, that is in a hotel that is supposed to be smoke free. I have severe allergy to smoke fumes. The only alternative that was offered to go to the room with different settings instead of 2 queen sized beds to go to a room with one bed and one pull out sofa that was not acceptable for us at which point I said I'm going to go elsewhere. The reception lady said they are going to charge us for a night regardless of us staying or not because we booked online... that is on best western website..... long story short. After long conversation of me expressing not exactly happiness with the situation they said they will refund me. Still not seeing in on my statement and unless I see it soon will resort to legal actions. Stay away from that place, you don't need a headache. Literally next door there is a very decent super 8, no smoking problems nor incopetent staff there.

"We were ROBBED!"

Our rental car was broken into and we were robbed of our luggage. Front desk could care less, the HIndu Indian man would not even call the police for us. We filed a report at Vancouver airport and found out this town Abootsford is the MOST crime ridden city in BC. Beware and the have NO SECURITY CAMeras.

"Finlly a B.W. living up to standards"

This Best Western is much better than the other one here in Abbotsford and for example... Tv works good...check Tv guide button works...check High def channels offered...check Not too loud...check Nice pool area and clean...check Alarm clock...check Microwave...check Fridge...check Friendly...check Clean room...check Will be back...check Thanks.

"Best Western Bakerview"

Average hotel but note the substantial rate hike for Friday's and Saturdays. Also unlike most BW's this hotel does NOT include breakfast although there is a fine restaurant next door. Easy access in and out to Highway #1.

"Moving to Langford"

We found the room to suit our needs. The kitchenette was fairly well equipped and the appliances were clean. Room over all was clean and well kept. Easy access to both fairies . We would recommend this hotel to friends and family

"Filthy room, belongings stolen out of vehicle"

We choose the Best Western Bakerview Inn because it's dog friendly (with a low pet fee) and looked fine for one night as we were passing through Abbotsford. We've stayed at several budget Best Westerns before but none as filthy as this one. We weren't expecting anything extravagant, but this place was way below our expectations. Within the first hour of checking-in and parking outside our room, our tablet and a satellite radio unit were stolen out of our vehicle. I don't fault hotel management for this, just sharing as a caution to other travellers that it's not located in a nice area. When we spoke to the front desk staff it sounded like theft is a regular occurrence and of course, no security cameras. Inside the room, there was old, crusty dog poop on the floor (not from our dogs)! We also found what looked like a smashed grape on the carpet as well as a sewing needle sticking straight out of the carpet that my dogs could have stepped on. The sheets had obviously not been changed because there were crumbs and hairs on the sheets when I pulled back the blanket. After dealing with our stuff being stolen it was 11 p.m. and we were too tired to request to change rooms. I understand that pet friendly rooms will never be spotless, but I was absolutely appalled at the lack of cleanliness and attention to detail. The beds and pillows were uncomfortable and there is quite a bit of noise from other rooms and the highway traffic. I would not stay here again nor would I recommend it to anyone. Terrible experience!

"Well Located"

It is an easily accesable location that is close to restaurants shopping, TransCanada Highway and Canada/\\US Sumas border entry. Presently under new management and under renovations, My family was happy.

"Good value with convenient location!"

This is an older motel that has been upgraded into a Best Western BW). The beds are super comfy and it is pet friendly. The rooms are clean, quiet and air conditioned. There is no breakfast offered which is unusual for a BW. There is an indoor pool. The hotel is convenient to the US border and great restaurants and also close to area attractions with a short drive to Vancouver.

"Dated on the outside but renovated on the inside"

We were pleasantly surprised when we opened the door to the room. This hotel is well priced and shows its age on the outside. However it's been refreshed inside. We had a junior suite which had 2 TVs - one in the bedroom and one in the living room. There is an indoor pool but no breakfast included. You can walk to the Crossroads restaurant on site or to Timmy's, Harvey's or McDonald's.

"Smelly room"

I stayed for a week, room gets cleaned every day, and from the first day till the last day long black hairs where not removed from the bathtub/shower. The room stunk of smoke, I suppose it was a smoking room before I arrived. Staff is friendly, and the location is great, but I won't come back.

"Good hotel"

Good location. Nice rooms. All outside entrances. Lots of places to eat within walking distance. Clean and comfortable rooms. Would recommend it to anyone. Nice pool and hot tub with good hours of operation.

"Standard hotel right off highway"

Great place to stay if you are traveling through. I was up and on the road in no time the next day. Had two tvs in my suite, but could only use one due to the government requiring at least one tv be digital and BW didn't spring for any packages for that tv.

AC sounds like airplane taking off in room all night long. Does not take time to make bed properly. Remote and clothing was remade into bed. No breakfast included. Could use a deep cleaning and an update.

"Has a Mt Baker View"

This hotel is clean, comfortable and handy to the TCH. It is a good location if visiting Abby Hospital or heading to the states. Parking is plentiful and access is easy. The view of Mt Baker is great. However the downside is the small room size and the high price on a weekend. No breakfast is included. It's not a huge problem because there are restaurants in the area but it does jack up the cost of staying there.

"Very good"

It was very satisfying,I left some medication there in roomwaiting to hear if found and see if they mail it me. Called desk and she will look into it .waiting for call, but over all I am happy .have nothing else to say on this trip

"Clan and convenient"

For a budget hotel, I was impressed. The rooms were remarkably clean. In this type of hotel and price range you're expecting some tired finishes and worn fixtures, but they have remodeled and it was pleasantly clean. The towels were neatly folded into fans which is a nice touch and shows an attention to detail. The front desk staff were average, not too interactive or energetic, but fine. The bed was very comfortable, though the pillows were small. The room had a microwave and a decent-sized fridge. Wi-Fi connection was reasonable. The pool was nice, well maintained, and the hot tub provides a nice strong blast from the jets that soothed my tired muscles. Within walking distance there's an upscale chain restaurant (Cactus Club,) a Starbuck's, several fast food outlets, and a bar. Overall I was very happy with my stay and felt it was good value.

"comfortable if dated"

came for conference--- seem to have paid an inflated rate of $220 for room, it is on today for $97and up. good beds, and quiet even on main road. would stay again but not at price i paid. restaurant in parking area, good breakfast-close to other food locations as well.

"Over priced"

This hotel would not take our points. Price $209 for a tired room. Not up to Best Western standards. May be standards have dropped. Commercial trucks parked in car parking area and running creating unwanted noise and smoke which entered some of the rooms. It had the appearance of a truck stop.

Marc P, General Manager at Best Western Bakerview Inn, responded to this review
On behalf of our entire team, I would like to apologize for not meeting your expectations. I am sorry to hear that you were disturbed by the noise and the diesel smoke of the trucks that you seen on our parking lot. These trucks belong to our registered working crew that have been guests here for sometime. I am currently working with their supervisor for a solution of where the crew can park their trucks. The truck parking across the way fills up very quickly and since we do not own that lot we have no control over who can park there. Abbotsford city bylaws states that large trucks can not be park on residential streets, so available truck parking becomes limited in the evening.

"Good to spend the night"

The hotel was easy to find, well located and not too bad to stay. The staffs were nice and friendly. The room was a little bit difficult to acces to. But, the inside room was clean and some what comfortable. Not too bad after all. But is defenitly not a hotel that I will spend more than one night.

Have always preferred to stay at BEST WESTERN MOTELS. They are extremely clean and comfortable. Staff have been excellent! Helpful, polite and professional. Would recommend any Best Western Motel to anyone. And the food at the Best Western Crossroads Restaurant is FABULOUS!!!

"Stay and accommodation"

Next to highway. Surrounding area is dirty and garbage everywhere. Needs improvement. Parking lot should be surrounded by metal fencing to improve security of parking lot. Under new management. Now plastic cups and paper coffee cups.

"So disappointed"

This was a horrible place to stay. The beds were ridiculously hard, the "non-smoking" room completely stunk of cigarette smoke, and the hot tub and pool were literally green and super dirty with things floating in the hot tub. It was gross. If it wasn't late at night and I wasn't desperate for a place to stay I would NOT have stayed there.

Marc P, General Manager at Best Western Bakerview Inn, responded to this review
Dear peachcheetah, On behalf of our entire team, I would like to apologize for not exceeding your expectations. Your satisfaction is important to us and we will be using the feedback you gave us to implement improvements to ensure we offer a better experience for guests in the future. What day and what room number did you stay in as this will help us rectify the bed and smoke odour problem. We are in the process of changing some older beds this spring and we do have from time to time guest that smoke in our non-smoking rooms and our housekeeping staff try to get rid of the odours. Did you mention your concerns to our front desk agent regarding the dirty pool and hot tub that evening or at check out? I hope that you will consider staying with us again so that we can have another chance to provide you with a superior experience.

didn't meet best western expectations at all. Night curtains didn't close. Had to climb up on the table and jerry rig them closed. Maintenance had already gone. Trying to save water, understandably, with card on bed not to change sheets. No problem with that, but in 4 nights, our bed was made once, garbage taken out once, and no clean towels. They took out the dirty ones, but did not replace. Very disappointed with this hotel.

"I likey lots "

Great location, convient parking lots of choices to eat and have drinks.....But I recommend you don't go into the Abby brew house. Read my review on them it's a big waste of time. Lots of other better choices. Front desk was very helpful and informative, clean rooms and good rates. Not to modern from the outside but you be pleasantly surprised with the rooms.

"Exceeded expectations"

This motel met all our criteria and pleasantly surprised us besides. A one night stay. We wanted pet friendly for the dog. We wanted a hot tub. And we wanted to bring our bikes in the room. We got three for three, plus.... The hot tub was clean and hot. There were extra pool towels. Room towels were abundant, clean and fluffy. There was a microwave, keurig, mini fridge and plenty of cups. The beds were firm and comfy. Staff were helpful and friendly. Wifi worked well. We were not disturbed by anyone during our stay.

"Will not take prepaid credit"

I stayed at this Best Western for almost two weeks. It was okay, the room was clean and clean towels were brought everyday. I fell ill there for most of the time but still was a nice hotel/motel. I found out after booking online that the hotel will not accept prepaid credit card or prepaid debit, so if you have any laying around DONT go there. Wast of time and money dealing with the management and front desk staff.

"A very nice hotel in a good location"

This hotel is just nearby the exist of Highway 1, it is so easy to locate it. There are many famous restaurants in its neighborhood. It has a very nice indoor swimming pool and hot tub. We all enjoyed our stay with this hotel.

"dont know what title to put"

very clean and updated, location was good and enjoyed the hot tub and pool, didnt know the was a breakfast buffey thow ,it wasnt posted in room, good lighting relaxing atmoshere, shower was very good and modern

We stay at this hotel as the staff is always friendly and it is very quiet . The restaurant is right there with awesome service and very tasty food. Close to the mall and parks to walk in. Hot tub is very hot and never crowded.

"Great Night"

This Best Western is near the highway and easy to find. Even though it is near the highway one does not hear the traffic from it. It does not have the complimentary breakfast but it has a restaurant on site. They do have complimentary coffee in the lobby. It also has a small indoor pool with a hot tub next too it. We only stayed one night with no problems.

"Definitely Baker View!"

We had an excellent room. Extremely clean. A couple of points - if you're going to the ice machine take your key; if you're disabled there's not much handicapped parking and if you want a king room - they are only on the second floor (no elevator). The pool and hot tub were beautiful - also very clean. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Gorgeous view of Mt. Baker!

"Average at best"

Our room was quite cramped, dark and smelled of cigarette smoke and cleaners/air-fresheners (attempting to mask the smell?) The proximity to the outer stairs made it a bit loud and difficult to settle. We had our dog with us and this was especially difficult with the dog.

"Great Hotel close to USA Border"

This is a very nice Hotel which is about 4 km from Sumas Border to USA. The room is very large and very comfortable. There was a fridge and microwave in the room. The bathroom had a great Shower Head. The Wi-Fi worked very well and there was plenty of parking available. We will stay again when passing. The lady at reception was very kind.

"Excellent stay"

This was a great place to stay with a family. Hotel has a pool for the little one and a hot tub to relax in. Nice, clean rooms with comfortable beds. Great location surrounded by lots to do and plenty to eat.

"No worries with this accommodation"

Had a group of 16 stay here for 4 nights. Very clean rooms, and with being as close to the Trans Canada #1 as it is....very quiet. The restaurant in front of the motel is basic at best, but the motel is a great stay and excellent location for your visit to Abbotsford

"Excellent Hotel"

This wonderful hotel has everything and a view of Mt Baker that no one else has. Great rooms, restaurant, pool, hot tub etc. When you travels take you through Abbotsford, stay at Bakerview Inn. The location is very good, close to the highway and easy to get into town. We enjoyed very, very much I'm sure you will too.

"Fantastic Location"

This hotel has the best view of Mt Baker possible. The access to the highway is very good and at the same time it is very quiet. This hotel is neat, clean and tidy and has a wonderful restaurant right on the property. The indoor pool and hot tub are very clean also, just what you want after a long drive. Staff are pleasant and helpful. love it.

"Would stay agaun"

Rooms were exceptionally clean, helpful staff at check in, nice and quiet, did not realize at booking no breakfast, but there was a restaurant next door, would stay again This hotel is close to highway so easy access to and from, also very close to the border just a few miles and Costco right around the corner

"Great Staff, Great location"

We had to find a last minute hotel since we were done for a medical reason. My sister had stayed at this hotel and really liked it. We got lucky and they had a room, The front desk lady even gave us a medical rate which we really appreciated. The pool was great for my niece, we will be back.

"Reasonable for the Rate"

We stayed in this Best Western one night, and the Super 8 next door the next. Both have great proximity to the Sumas border station, and are very near a number of eating establishments, the tourism office, drive-through corn stand and even the Walmart. Both properties had friendly and helpful staff. However, at $140CDN on a Saturday night in early August, the Best Western was $30CDN cheaper than the Super 8 and did not include the breakfast. However, it was not a $31 breakfast, and the Tim Horton's did us just fine. The room in the Best Western appeared to have been more recently remodeled, and all was fresh, new and clean. We used the pool and hot tub, and from certain angles you actually had a little view of Mount Baker, and it was airy and quiet. There were two reasons that we might not stay here again. The biggest drawback to this property is the lack of an elevator or lift for the second floor. Lugging our bags for the week up and down the stairs was a pain, and if we stay here again it would have to be on the first floor. There were also people smoking on the second balcony shared area and the smoke leaches into your room when the doors and windows are open. As with public buildings in other places, they need to have signs posted about smoking at least 10 feet away from the building. I am allergic to smoke, so this is also a deal-breaker, but the property is a good option for many reasons and for many travelers.

"Clean hotel just over the border"

We drove up from Seattle on our way to Jasper National Park. We stayed here the first night. It was a nice hotel. Very clean and lots of people working on the hotel around the parking lot, lobby as well as standard housekeeping. There is no elevator as this is a motel style location. I enjoyed staying here and would stay again.

"Very satisfied with our stay"

Great view of Baker Mountain, big clean room. Close to amenities, friendly front desk staff. Laundry facilities and hot tub/pool available. We were surprised of the rating this place was getting, certainly way better than expected. Very satisfied with the room and location. Would definitely return.

"Nice overnight stay"

My wife and I needed an overnight stay before returning to the US from a long weekend in mid-BC. Our dogs are afraid of fireworks and bring this was July 4th, we needed to be in Canada one more night :). At first it was odd when we checked in, we were about to drive to our room when the clerk ran out to stop us and said he needed to give us a different room as someone was in the room he had put us in. A minute later he ran out with a new key card. The room was nice with a seperate living area. The bed very comfortable. There was a fee for the dogs of $10/dog/night, which was not that bad. My wife liked the Keurig in the room! We were happy with our stay.

"They need warning signs"

Was there July 16 checked in and was ready to go into room. As I left the lobby, no 'careful, step ' or anything as basically the curb is right there and here I went smack on my knees. I worry that this is going to happen again, if not has already happened. Still hoping for the swelling to go down off my knees and to stop taking Advil

When I looked at the fact that this hotel was a 2 star, I was pleasantly surprised how nice our room was. It was extremely clean and well laid out. The bed was a little on the firm side, but that wasn't a big deal. We were only there for 1 night but I would definitely go back again. The breakfast at the restaurant was great value and the service was excellent. Thanks for a great experience!

"well located"

this hotel is well located just off the hwy, it is close to many restaurants, its clean. I would say its slightly overpriced BUT it certainly feels safe and ample parking. The fellow checking me in was very knowledgeable of the area, and the view from the front door is spectacular.

"Staff needs renovations too"

The renovated rooms are clean and nice in appearance. and equipment functions well. They are undergoing renovations still and this interrupted our hot water services and we received a partial refund on 1 night on 1 of our rooms for the inconveniece. We had 1 day where housekeeping made our room (after a complaint and request to ensure we were properly attended to) and then we were missed yet again. The first staff member Kalvin that we complained to was courteous and professional, gave us breakfast coupons for their restaurant for the trouble but all others were off putting or even blatantly apathetic. Housekeeping was chit chatting with the guys doing the renos everytime I saw them. Obviously the staff needs to refocus on their work instead of the renovations going on.

"Nice, clean hotel"

Stopped here for one eve .. Place was clean, welcoming , comfy. Would definitely go again if given the chance of coming through this town. Room was modern, cable was great , quiet and all round nice room . It's right off the main road . Close to lots of restaurants and Tim Hortons too .

"Good for an overnight stay"

We were in Abbotsford for a wedding - the hotel is conveniently located right off the freeway in an area full of restaurants and gas stations if you needed one. Very quiet - couldn't hear the road or any other guests even thought the hotel was booked full. The room was clean and had AC - what more can you ask for when you're looking for a stopover place? :)

"Comfortable base for area activities"

It's an older model, remodeled and reasonably current in it's accommodations. Helpful staff, very courteous. We were actually attending Quarter Midget races in Langley, BC, so this place was a little out of the way. Wish we'd had time to enjoy the indoor pool and hot tub.

"It was a nice stay."

We arrived late into BC (from the USA) and were tired upon our arrival. The late night night staff person "buzzed" us into the foyer and checked us into the hotel. The room was nice and clean. We enjoyed our night here and would stay again if we were in the area, but we wouldn't go out of our way to do it.

"Went to Abbotsford for a Football camp"

AWESOME Motel, with great friendly staff, Large rooms with nice furnishings clean, great restaurant in parking lot, close to lots of restaurants, and a BEAUTY view of Mt Baker, Pool with Hottub laundry facilties, Will def stay here again

"A great nugget "

We stayed as a team parents and kids. It was a great clean well priced motel. Perfect location with a nice small pool. Close to the highway and chain restaurants. Super quiet. Couldn't believe the nice size of the rooms and the recent updates. Small fridge and great coffee maker with a small microwave. I highly recommend and rates were awesome.

"Great stay!"

Had 14 family members staying here and we had a great time, super staff and good rooms. Will be our hotel of choice in Abbotsford BC. Close to lots of amenities and easy to find. I would not hesitate to tell friends about this hotel.

"happy visit"

Used the hotel and was pleased with the room. located next to the highway but noise from the highway was not an issue. Have used before and would use again. Plenty of choice for eating and entertainment in the immediate area.

"Best Western Abbotsford, B.C."

I always stay here when in the lower mainland, great service, rooms, staff, and value for the price. I am a long-time customer, was very pleased that the whole facility is now non-smoking, with upgraded and renovated rooms, and a comfy lobby with great coffee, made fresh with a new single cup coffee maker!

"This is the place to stay!"

Great hotel! CLEAN, friendly staff who go out of their way to accommodate your needs, beds are so comfortable and the shower is fantastic! Great location and easy to get to major roadways, airport, dining and other great attractions in the area. Also.... very nice view of the mountains!

"Bakerview Hotel Should be Torn Down"

Unrenovated rooms smell like a dirty ashtray and will only be acceptable to a smoker. Also, hotel faces a major freeway with lots of noise from traffic and transport trucks which park nearby. The on sight restaurant (Crossroads) is good but, not included in your room reservation in spite of the amount charged.

"Decent stay"

The hotel was more a motel with room access from the exterior. The room was adequate and I must say they shower was phenomenal. Great water pressure and plenty of towels. The bed was comfortable and non-smoking room was actually well maintained and smoke free. My only complaint would be the noise of people outside my room during the night. But this wasn't the case every night so I wouldn't mind revisiting next time I'm in town. If I need more I'll pay for more, but for the price I believe it was and is worth it.

"Pretty decent place"

We stayed here because we missed our flight due to a car accident. It is a nice enough place to stay and very, very close to the airport. The evening front desk staff were excellent and a pleasure to deal with. Not so sure about the morning staff..... In any event, I would certainly stay again.

"Great Place to stay"

We stay here often as we travel for business, stay at least once a month for 2 to 3 days. The staff is wonderful, friendly and always willing to help with anything you may need. We have a pet and always are able to accommodate our needs. Hotel is central to various eating establishments within walking distance, and a Walmart is next door. A quiet location which is always nice.

"Best Stay"

Every time I am in Abbotsford or need to go to Vancouver this is my MUST STAY place. Super friendly staff and the beds are the most comfortable. There quilts are so full fluffy and warm. The best part was when my flight was early morning they packed my son and I bagged breakfast. Never have I had a hotel do this. It was so very appreciated.

"Weekend stay"

Nice enough for price paid, efficient staff. In town for wedding and location was convenient to border crossing and family farm. Should have requested downstairs room because stairs were sub-standard and outside in the rain made them slippery.

Maggie A, General Manager at BEST WESTERN Bakerview Inn, responded to this review
Thank You David H, for the kind words regarding your stay with us. We are happy to know the location was convenient for you and your family. Please note even though we do have exterior staircases, we do regularly check them and have added in a non-slip agent to ensure they do not become slippery in the wet weather we can get in our area. We do hope to welcome you back Yours in hospitality, Maggie A

"Bakerview Inn in Abbotsford"

We always stay at this motel on our first night in Canada. We have 3 Siberian Huskies and appreciate their pet policy. The room always is attractively decorated and very clean. The restaurant is also very pleasant, offering a wide variety or choices and very friendly staff.

"Great inexpensive hotel"

Stay here on a regular basis and it's an inexpensive clean hotel with a great little restaurant in the parking lot. They are very accepting of pets and are friendly during checkin process. They also have a nice pool that the grandkids love to play in.

"good value"

Good location , very close to the freeway and surrounded by restaurants. Rooms were spacious and clean and the beds comfortable . Nice indoor pool and hot tub and very friendly staff. You can get a good night's rest here for a reasonable price.

"Nice hotel, great staff!"

The front Desk Staff was amazing; the room was pricey for an overnight and they did their best to call around and find something cheaper and they did. However we were road weary and they were so helpful and nice we stayed. A great property with nice amenities but the staff was above and beyond.

Maggie A, General Manager at BEST WESTERN Bakerview Inn, responded to this review
