SureStay Plus by Best Western Vero Beach

For $68 a night as a BW Diamond Select Member, this place was a great value. We got the Exclusive Email Rate. We wanted to check out the Vero Beach local beaches and stayed 4 nights. Our total tab came to only $339, tax included. Very clean, three stories with great working elevator. Room and bathroom was spotless, bed was great, reliable WIFI and great TV channel selection. We stayed on the side away from I-95, so it was very quiet. Room was nice and cool with no air conditioning issues. Great hot breakfast. Ample, safe and well lit parking. Plenty of places nearby to eat and gas up, like WAWA, Steak & Shake, Cracker Barrel and IHOP. More national restaurant chains closer into town. There was never any body loitering out front, and we felt totally safe. The young lady at the front desk, TASH, was very welcoming and helpful. Would certainly stay here again when in the Vero Beach Area. Grade: a solid A!

Very clean, great price and a good free breakfast. A little hidden away between other hotels. Bed extremely comfortable and had all the tv channels one could want. Paid under $90.00 for a weekend stay. Parking lot was well lit. Receptionist was polite and helpful. Highly recommended

Exterior is great...interior needs to be badly renovated, the room was musty, bed was terrible...brought our own sheets from home, the bedding was not good...on the plus side, it was clean and staff was very nice and helpful...no breakfast bc we lost power but some effort could have been made minus the waffles...just dissappointed!

The rooms had an overwhelming musty stench that almost made us decide to leave immediately, but it was late so we decided to stay and leave as early as possible the next morning. We were so disgusted by the smell and the overall disgusting condition rooms (rusty doors, bathroom door would not shut all the way, etc) that we didn't even want to eat the free breakfast that was offered. This place needs to be torn down and a new building should be built. I am sure Best Western could afford to build a new building rather than slapping their name on an extremely old building and giving themselves a bad image overall.

Excellent experience. Great staff at check-in. Clean comfortable room. Very attractive lobby. Great breakfast--hot food choices, very tasty, very clean dining area. No problem accommodating our dog. Would definitely use this property again.

This hotel has a friendly, professional staff, clean rooms, and firm comfortable beds. Soft pillows, very nice. Breakfast on the high carb side. As advised by another reviewer, I asked for a room on the front of the hotel, away from the highway side, and it was very quiet. I would imagine that even the highway side would be quiet enough, though, as the rooms have good windows. Walk to Cracker Barrel. I would stay here again.

Room had big sticky spot near on carpet. Iron was unusable. Refrigerator was wobbly and had no freezer. Elevator call buttons worked only if you hit them hard. Stairs only available at the hallway ends and not near the elevator. Staff area /Laundry door near elevator was always open.

This hotel is somewhat dated but is very clean and affordable. The rooms are more spacious than most and the breakfast was acceptable. Pool area is small and it is not heated but the lounge chairs were comfortable.

Needed to get off the highway due to impending severe weather and landed at this exit. I do not regret this choice. Friendly staff, comfortable bed, easy access to interstate and to my pleasant surprise to top things off, it's walking distance to the outlet mall and I found a perfect Coach purse.

Okay ... This hotel certainly isn't perfect. The managers/staff are the first to tell you that it needs the renovation that is scheduled in the near(?) future. It's pretty obvious that the previous owners drained all of the cash out of the property before selling it. Some buddies and I were in Vero Beach for a slot car race at the raceway in the Vero Beach Outlet Mall needed four rooms for the night before the race. Since three of us are retired guys the fact that the SureStay was about $40 per room less expensive than the other hotel nearby ... we decided to give it a chance. You know ... it wasn't bad. The rooms were clean, the bed was comfortable, the water was hot, and the AC was almost too cold. Plus, the complimentary breakfast was better than many other free breakfasts. We were warned that there was a family reunion in the hotel and that there might be some noise up to about 10pm. The hotel staff was true to their word. By 10:15 I couldn't hear a peep ... other than the typical hallway chatter that occurs at every hotel. Yes ... the hotel is tired. And not having a separate elevator for housekeeping is less than ideal. However, for one night - and saving $40 - I don't regret staying there. (But, I'm not sure I'd stay there for a week. ;) )

Dirty, garbage left for days in hallway, stairwell and outside. Staff ‘s kids all over. Keys to new guests were give to our room. Staff eating during guest breakfast time. Housekeeping staff holding up the elevator as you can hear them chatting on another floor. Will not return

Family was in town for a baseball tournament and the team picked this hotel. Hotel was dirty...My wife had to scrub all the counters. Had to purchase air fresheners to mask the smell of the room. Then when we had to check out early because of a family emergency (Sick family member), we were informed there was a three night minimum because we check in on Friday and they would not refund the last night. NOWHERE was the 3 night minimum advertised when the reservation was made...We asked the night before if we could leave early so we could get home to our sick family member and were told no problem. Then when we were leaving on Sunday, the general manager informed me she could not do it without the owners permission, who refused DESPITE the family situation. Your a fool if you stay in this hotel. The ONLY positive is that the short staffed, overworked employees were friendly...As for the owners, I hope they are never in a situation like this...Because it stinks to be treated like you don't matter...

I haven't stayed at the redone Surestay Best Western Hotel and it appears that I won't because they are not pet friendly. Their room rates are double of what we paid before and we always had great service, food, and accommodations when the hotel was Country Inn and Suites. We come from down south and go up to Vero Beach because it is so much fun. We love it in Vero. We always have a wonderful time. We bring two of our dogs to enjoy the experience with us and that was the best part of the trip in that we were able to stay with them at the hotel. So never again since this hotel is not pet friendly. We will just have to take our business elsewhere. I am very disappointed in this change.

No hot water and no darkening blinds in the windows so the spotlights from outside shine in the room all night. Also the 2nd floor hallway needs a painting or wall paper. Tried to discuss it with the morning staff but did Not receive empathy or concern.

I booked two rooms with this hotel, and then when I looked at my credit card statement I was charged for three rooms. I think they are hoping no one checks their credit card statements. I called for a week straight leaving messages and asking to speak to a manager, and they either don't answer the phone or if I leave a message the manager doesn't call back. I have to track this person down who is clearly avoiding me. I will be contacting the local police department as this is clearly theft.

My experience with this "lovely" hotel started with a 250 dollar incidental charge/hold for a hotel that has neither room service or a mini bar, so it's basically a non interest loan to the hotel. The room was clean but super outdated I had a "suite" and the fold out couch was at least 15 years older than I was. To accompany the side of the road quality couch was a a lumpy bed that was devoid of a comforter and instead just had two thin sheets. My "suite" had a window that faced the parking lot but one set of the curtains was missing so anyone walking into the hotel could see directly into my room. The cherry on top of this stay was trying to check out, they require you to return the keys because they're too cheap to just print new ones like every other hotel since 2010 and I had to wait 25 minutes for 4 employees to saunter in from outside because they all decided to take a break at the same time and leave the front desk unattended. So do yourself a favor and spend the extra 50 bucks a night to stay at any of the other 5 hotels within walking distance of this cesspit.
