Glendower Hotel, BW Signature Collection

We did a 'room only' for two nights over Easter weekend. We had asked simply for a nice room with a view and got exactly that (see pics). The staff were very helpful indeed, and although there was a full on wedding taking place in the function room below, we didn't hear a thing. This was our first time here and we found it to be a very relaxing hotel with lovely rooms and a great location. The hotel is also just 10 minutes' walk from the equally friendly St Anne's Synagogue if you're after that facility. To be aware : the hotel is a period property and I understand was brought together from combining many properties. The upshot is the place does ramble a bit and there is no lift to the second floor. Stairs were not a problem for us, but don't ask for a second floor room if they are. Also, the weather when we stayed was fine but be aware there is no air-con so on a hot day it might be a bit uncomfortable. Finally, the car parking space is finite. We found the last space when we arrived. You can park on the North Promenade although the signs say no parking greater than 2 hours. But overall, we would have no hesitation recommending the place for a really relaxing stay.

Fabulous afternoon tea for my mum in laws birthday. The food was delicious all freshly made ....staff were excellent nothing too much trouble , they really made the afternoon special....suggested my daughter bring out the birthday cake for her Grandma - a lovely touch, happy to cut the cake for us to take home and provided boxes to take any leftovers from the afternoon tea home. Highly recommended .

I stayed with a group of quilters for 3 nights in March. We meet twice a year and our original venue has closed. Having had a couple of poor experiences at Best Western I was not expecting this hotel to be suitable. A few of us visited to assess the accommodation and facilities and decided to book for 3 nights. My experience this time totally changed my views as we had great few days. The food was great and the staff could not have been better. The location is a bonus. Only downside was a fire alarm going off twice with no apparent reason, once at 11.30 pm which woke us up,

I spent a couple of days in the area with my mother and stayed in this hotel which she adored. The location is breathtaking, especially considering we got a room facing the sea! Easy spot for Lovely long walks within the characteristic dunes. The room was immaculate both in terms of cleanliness and amenities; shout out to my very first good pillow experience (in years of traveling), comfortable bed too. Members of staff were absolutely brilliant and helpful; I still smile thinking how they managed to conversate with my mum who doesn't speak English (who sneaked earlier for breakfast without me ahahah) managing to understand and serve her with efficiency. Still grateful for their patience and kindness. Finally, I'd like to highlight how beautiful the building is! Would 100% recommend.

Given that I booked an executive suite I did expect more than we got for our money. I did compare the facilities with those for a Superior Suite & apart from room size there was no difference - we could have up-graded for an extra £10 per night. BUT didn't see the point (although I believe the ‘Superior' did offer a coffee making machine). As we booked through a recognised booking agency we did get a discount on room booking but hubby was most unhappy about the total price I paid & on reflection I agree with him. Yes we had an iron & ironing board in room, All furniture was painted white (except for bed-side tables), paintwork on dressing table cum desk (squeaky drawers) was chipped. The mirror was well lit & I could see through it! Plenty of inset ceiling lights & reading lights either side of bed (although these were not individually controlled - put one on & the other also came on). Lovely view though had too stand on window sill to open or close window. Room was warm enough & carpet was well underlaid though a bit grubby in places. The bed consisted of 2 singles linked together which made for some discomfort as could feel the join (a thicker mattress cover would benefit), otherwise was comfortable. Good full size mirror by entrance to bathroom. Have never experienced the weird clothes hangers in wardrobe (each was doubled up). Tv was wall hung & easy to see from bed. We also had two bucket type chairs & a circular table which were positioned for the view. The bathroom was well heated though therm mirror over sink was no use to me as could only see top of head (I am vertically challenged) . Given my small size I would still have liked bigger bath towels (I usually bring one of my own because of this). The toiletries were of good quality & eco friendly. I didn't shower & bath taps easy to control (though were loose - moved when turned on). There was also a little mold on the shower screen & hubby who did shower did find the shower difficult to control despite the instructions provided. The sealant was also not finished off properly. I wonder why places don't provide bottled water anymore as I really don't like filling kettle from bathroom taps. Went out & bought our own coffee (hubby likes cappuccino & I like americano) & some drinking chocolate. The cappuccino sachets cost £1.50 for 8 & the drinking chocolate was £1.25 for 6 pre-filled cups! The americano was dearer as bought a tin, but have seen sachets for a reasonable price All these can be provided besides the standard coffee sachets (don't drink tea so can't comment on that). It's little things like that & e.g. bathrobes that make it worth paying a bit more for. I am aware that if we had booked direct with the hotel that we would have been provided with a bottle of wine, daily newspaper & a voucher towards a meal in the restaurant. Overall the stay was ok but have been provided with more from a standard B&B in past. The staff however are all lovely - & Judith who checked us in went above & beyond to help us. She showed us too our room (as it was a complicated route) because the lift was broken. Am sure we would have gotten lost if it hadn't been for her as it wasn't really well signposted.

We have been to this hotel many times, we just love it! I stayed with my friend who has a son with downs syndrome and have a son with autism and we find the staff are so friendly and helpful. We ate at the restaurant on the Saturday night and it was gorgeous. Highly recommend the mushroom stroganoff and the chicken a la creme. We stayed in a family room and it is very spacious and so clean. A special thank you to Daniella who is so helpful and goes out of her way to make you feel welcome. Thanks again and we will be back. Had a wonderful three night break at the Glendower. The room was spotless I need to know how they get the mirrors to sparkle like they did. The room had a lovely sea view and was close to the lift which I had asked for, and was very spacious We were bed breakfast and evening meal on there special deal, the food was all served at the table and all the meals we had were exceptional. The staff were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. And free parking ..,with lots of spaces. We will definitely stay again.

Lovely hotel with great staff and food available from bothe the restaurant and bar. Small but comfortable room. Only minor issue for me was that my room 116 was above the gym so had an unexpected 7am wake up call with music pounding.

Had a 2 night stay with breakfast which was amazing. The staff were professional and friendly. My room was a double which was a little on the small size but ok for one maybe a bit tight for two. The hotel has a good atmosphere lots of areas to sit where you could relax with a drink.

Stayed in the Ribble suite which was simply fantastic. Have already booked to stay again. Only issue was we were told the restaurant closed at 20.45 and that we could order food for room service till then. At 20.15 when we tried to order we got told. Sorry but it was quiet so the chef got sent home. Not ideal when you had been travelling since 5 that morning !!!

I stayed at the hotel for 3 nights, Dinner Bed and breakfast with my Mum and we loved every minute there. Our room was great, twin executive sea view. Beautiful decor and comfy bed. The bathroom was very modern and shower worked well.

My husband and I stayed at this fabulous hotel last weekend we loved it. The staff are all really friendly and welcoming the rooms are spotless and the beds are really comfy. The food is amazing everything is cooked to perfection. We will definitely be going back Thank you everyone Sandie and Ian

Had a great stay, comfortable and friendly. Got there late and Stephen was very funny and considerate on the front desk. The bed was comfortable and plenty of extra cushions. Sausages at breakfast were good ;) always judge a hotel by it's sausages

overall not too bad, staff were great, dinner was excellent, breakfast even better, parking secure and in front of the hotel, but, my room was a little cramped to be called a double, the heating did not work at all through the night

I would not recommend this hotel. Too many stairs to climb even though there is a lift.Hotel is a warren of corridors. Single rooms are too small. safes are very low or do not work. Staff were one hour late to solve a problem stating that they were busy at reception. Obviously they do not know that the client is always king.

Stopped one night, check-in was smooth and friendly. Room was lovely and big with sea view. Room was clean and tidy. I didn't eat in the restaurant in the evening so can't comment on that. Breakfast was nice, freshly made and check out was fast and hassle free. I'd definitely recommend and stop there again when in area.

Came here with the family (3 couples) it was perfect.. great location with lovely views, spacey rooms as well. Considering there was a football club there at the time you didn't notice any all. The breakfast was fab lots to choose from. Friendly staff. Liked it so much that we are all coming back next April! Thankyou :)

Stayed here after a game of golf at Royal Lytham. Very convenient and comfortable. We booked Dinner, Bed and Breakfast. Unfortunately my wife did not enjoy her evening meal as the fish was not the best, hence the missing fifth star. Next morning the lady manager improved the likelyhood of re-visiting the hotel by taking the cost of the meal from the bill. She was great and was the best PR person for an hotel that I have met.

Just arrived back after spending a weekend in Lytham Saint Annes with friends. Hotel is in a great location, walking distance to local shops, pubs etc, right on the promenade facing the sea and only a short walk to bus stops. Booked over the telephone with Tina, a very helpful and polite member of the hotel staff. Had a sea view room -234- which was a great size and very clean. Only fault was that the mattress was maybe due for changing as it had two noticeable dips where guests must lie. Breakfast was lovely, buffet for cereals , toast etc but served at the table for main breakfast, there was plenty on the plates. All staff were very friendly. The hotel also has its own car park. Would highly recommend this hotel.

This was our second stay. Again a very warm welcome for us and our dogs. I loved the feel of the hotel. The facilities were as advertised. Reception staff are very slick. Good bar staff. Excellent restaurant staff. The highlight for us is the proximity to the beach and the welcome the dogs get.

Recommend a sea view room. 106 with bay window overlooking sea. Staff welcoming and pleasant. Well stocked bar. Rooms spacious and well equipped. An all round gem. Few minutes walk from lytham pier and dogs welcome.

An executive room with a sea view and recently refurbished (103). The shower thermostat seemed dodgy and the double glazing did not keep out all the noise from those having numerous cigarettes under our window (room full of smoke if you opened the window). Comfy beds and clean. Housekeeping couldn't seem to get the idea that two people in a room warranted more than one pack of biscuits and 4 pots of milk. We did ask for more and Reception offered more but the message never got through to housekeeping so I just bought a packet of biscuits and some decaff tea at the local Tesco (stays open late as does Aldi!). Some of the back stairs looked rather grubby but we did not see any of the standard rooms.It would have been kind if we had been told that they were doing refurbishments just under our room for the length of our stay. (Even an apology and a free drink in the bar would have been good.) As it was, I was really not too well (migraine) on our second day so spent much of the time in our room - with drilling and hammering going on for hours at a time. AArgh! Very good breakfast and you could do your own tea, toast etc or be served it. My husband tells me their full English was really good. We didn't have dinner there but the quality of the food in the evening looked good.

We have just returned from a couple of nights stay at the Glendower, having called in a while back for lunch we were very impressed with the hotel. We had tried to book on a couple of occasions but we were unable to book a suitable room so we have stayed at the Grand Hotel. Delighted this time there was a superior room with lift access available. On arrival the planters outside were covered in cigarette ends the tables outside had overflowing ashtrays on every one, certainly not a great first impression. Parking the car we went to reception (without our luggage) I started to say we were staying for a couple of nights, at which point the receptionist smirked and said you are far too early the rooms are not ready! I never expected the room to be but I did want to advise her I had parked our car in the car park and we were going to have a coffee and a bite to eat! At that point my husband decided we should leave the first impressions were not good and we would have if we had not paid in full! The good news is when we came back later it was a different receptionist and she was delightful as was our room (104) large, well presented and very clean. The rest of the staff and the food were also excellent. We are pleased we had paid on full and didn't leave! We will return. Standards practice is you are asked if you have enjoyed your stay on checking out, not today but it was the first receptionist we encountered!

Beautiful room, incredible decor, fantastic service, great quality food, clean and well maintained, best hotel my husband and I have had the pleasure of staying in! Best Western Plus will now be our first choice when shopping around for a quality hotel!

We chose The Glendower for our family celebration of Mum and Dad's Platinum Wedding Anniversary as we have had a previous family party here. We were not disappointed. I had arranged to arrive a little early to decorate The Ballam Suite ready for our party. The hotel was very busy as a Wedding was due to take place the same day. This made no difference to the service we were given from beginning to end. We were greeted by the lovely Hayley and told to ask for anything we needed. Seamus the dog was made a special fuss of. Our waiter Tom could not have been more attentive and made sure our Prosecco drinks reception was set up beautifully. The food was all delicious, fresh, served on platters and the cakes were decorated most appealingly. The chef had even prepared a completely separate platter of desserts for my Niece who has a nut allergy, what a thoughtful gesture. Everything went smoothly for the party and our overnight stay was wonderful to. The breakfast was delicious served to us in the lounge as we had Seamus the Staffie with us and Bill the guide dog puppy in training, everything was piping hot and service again was brilliant. We will be returning very soon and want to thank all the staff for making Mum and Dad's Platinum Wedding Anniversary a very special and memorable day.

My husband and I popped into the restaurant on a rainy Sunday evening. Naimh waitress was really helpful and did a great job. The good was excellent. I had fried goats cheese balls with a cranberry dip which were absolutely delicious followed by the parmesan crusted chicken with mash potato and vegetables. It was really lovely, tasty and is probably one of the best meals I have eaten out in quite a while. It was also very well priced. Highly recommended.

My son and my now daughter in law have just got married and had their reception at this hotel. I am writing this review to say what a fabulous day it was for everyone that attended and also stayed the weekend. The whole wedding day, ceremony, food, everything, was perfect. The staff in the hotel are all so helpful and friendly especially the staff in the breakfast room who go out of their way to help you. Great weekend had by all, it could not have been better.

The Glendower has always been our favourite place to stay in St.Annes. It just suited us from the quiet ambience to the friendly, welcoming but not intrusive staff. This was our 4th stay after many years of being satisfied customers. We noticed the changes as soon as we arrived as the reception had moved out of the prime spot as you enter the hotel. No matter we checked in & were given our key cards. No offer of help with cases although we didn't have much luggage with us to be fair. It's nice to be asked though. We trundled up 2 flights of stairs to find our room.This is not easy as some room numbers don't seem to correlate.When we arrived at our room our key cards didn't work. We had to go back down to reception & were told the key cards had to be used the other way round and they sent the batch that way. We were not told only our friend who made the booking.There were 3 rooms booked in all, 2 doubles for 2 couples & 1 single. When we climbed back up to our room we mismanaged to open it only to find we had been given the wrong room.This was a twin bedded room. I phoned through to reception & explained the situation & he said there had obviously been a mix up & our friend had been given our room by mistake. Instead of saying 'please leave your cases & we'll sort it out for you ' we were instead just told of the correct room & we attempted to find it. My husband was getting very angry at this point. It was only our friend who helped us find the room otherwise the staff would have been given the sharp edge of my husband's tongue. We were very weary after all this. We were very happy with our room when we finally settled in it & it was spotlessl clean. I did notice however that the bath towels were decidedy on the small side. We are not as trim as we were on our previous trip however this was ridiculous. I know mistakes can happen but if they do it is a nice courtesy to receive some compensation by way of an apology for our inconvenience.There was no evidence of this & it makes one feel we don't matter. We had a DBB deal so was looking forward to the evening meal. I remember on previous trips that the food was much improved so I was hopeful. We ordered drinks which took an age to arrive. Our waiter was very pleasant if a little forgetful.Onion rings didnt arrive with one guest's meal but after an apology was told it wouldn't be charged for. I ordered duck à ?'orange with some seasonal veg. There were some vegetables added to the plate which were cold & it had to be sent back.Our other friends veg was also cold. This was rectified but there was a wait.My favourite course is pudding & when I spotted Crepe Suzette on the menu I was very enthusiastic & 3 of us ordered it. Well unfortunately the chef doesn't have much idea how to prepare it & I left 3/4 of it. Very disappointing! The crepe was a pancake & there was no actual orange sauce just a drizzle of it & orange segments inside the pancake with tarte berries to accompany it. No, No & No! We were not charged for the dessert at least as the waiter had asked us if we had enjoyed it.The next night however was so different we realised it must be a different chef.The 2nd night we were treated to a very good made by the head chef.what a shame there was such a difference.We also noticed the piano couldn't be played as on previous visits ad I am a pianist & so is one of our friends & we were looking forward to a sing song. We were told that the pianist who comes in to play had taken the lead with him. This was also disappointing as it was another reason we enjoyed staying at the hotel. I know this may seem petty to some but it was another point down for us. At breakfast there were more changes not welcome.You now have to make your own drinks & toast. This takes forever & a long walk down to what seemed like a staff cafeteria is not to my mind conducive to guests convenience or what we come away for. As you can I don't like self service apart from the usual cereals & juice. On a positive nnote the cooked breakfast was delicious!We still enjoyed our stay & slept well. The beds are very comfortable. We just felt the hotel had lost its family feel which had made it stand out from the rest of the corporate hotels previously.

We had a great stay at the hotel earlier in the year! We had a room for three of us at a really reasonable rate between us. The room was lovely, comfortable and well decorated. There was almost a separate room for the third person. The staff were friendly and recommended some places to eat and drink locally. There are plenty of places near by. I think that we were at the end of the serving of breakfast as the service here didn't seem as great as the rest of the hotel. Some of the items hadn't been stocked up. Would recommend as a good hotel in the area!

Staff here are amazing,not sure what their training programme is, but other companies should take heed. Hotel is lovely, nice decor and outlook. . Had a seaview room... which was a great way to wake up to. Beds a little hard for our liking, but each to their own, sure if we had mentioned it staff would have tried to rectify in some way. Wifi worked well. Breakfast was very nice with lots of choice. Free car parking. Easy walking to town center and lovely prom walks.

We only spent a night here whilst grabbing a day at the Ladies Open but the hotel is well situated warm welcome from the reception staff ( Thanks Stephen... you need a sat nav private joke he'll understand) good clean room, we just had a room facing 'back' but I would think the sea facing rooms are worth the up grade. Our room was more than big enough plenty of hanging space for clothes and drawers for smalls. Comfee bed and soft pillows excellent Excellent walk in shower immediate hot water with good fluffy towels Nice bar with a vast amount of gin to choose from. Walkable to the town centre and a minute walk from the pier. We didn't eat in so I can not comment and I did see signs for a gym again our visit was too short to venture Good size car park out front Lovely, well worth it very happy and the price was perfect. We shall return

Went to the Coast restaurant in the Glendower hotel for lunch with my son. We had a shared platter and my son had the burger. The food was excellent, really tasty and well presented. The restaurant itself is very tastefully decorated and as a local I was surprised that I had not seen it advertised more openly. The prices are not cheap but the food was good value for money. The food and service we received was excellent and I shall definately be coming back.

Although we live locally we often use the Glendower hotel. So far this year we have had tea for two twice, my sons 40th birthday celebrations and my 70th birthday party. We have also used the Coast restaurant. The food is delicious. Nothing is too much trouble and the staff have always been extremely helpful and efficient in all they do. Would definitely recommend

We had our wedding at this hotel on the 29/7/18 And it was great. The staff where all very helpful and polite. The room we stayed in was great with plenty of room. We had a great nights sleep and the breakfast was really nice. We will stay for our 1st years wedding anniversary may be even the 2nd and 3rd and so on. Keep up the good work and Thank you for making our day such a wonderful moment in our lives.

A wonderful family break, rooms exceptional,clean and well maintained. Breakfasts delicious and offered a good choice for all tastes. All staff friendly and very professional. Short walk into the town centre and pleasant strolls along the seafront.Hotel car parking was at times difficult but there was plenty of room along the road outside.

Back for our 8th visit this time staying in the Ribble View Suite (usually stay in the Fairhaven Suite). We last visited at Christmas and notice that more changes have been made since then. The reception has now moved and I'm not sure it's for the better as feels more formal and less friendly but I understand that the bar is moving into the old spot. When we arrived the hotel was hosting a wedding, the guests were assembled around the front door and we had to wait for photos to be taken before we could get in. Once in we noticed how untidy the new reception area was with sweet wrappings, glasses and other assorted debris having been discarded and not cleared. A lady day at the window with her feet on the settee, it all seemed very trashy. The Ribble View is nice, it has a balcony but our daughter couldn't sleep in her room due to noise levels both at night and the morning. The maid asked on our first morning if we were checking out, when we said no she asked if we wanted out room cleaned? Bin emptied? Towels replaced anon,. Although she was very nice we did feel like we should be completing a checklist ! Is this cost savings or was the poor woman short staffed?? Also we were not warned when we booked or checked in about the wedding. The disco continued until after 12 and the base must have been turned right up. I called down at 12 to enquire when it would finish as we couldn't sleep and was told 'in a few minutes' .No apology was given and it felt like something we should just put up with. I hate to say it but the hotel is loosing it's charm and I feel disappointed as we have recommended it and stayed a number of times.

Good find when usual hotel was full. Car park was rammed when we got there so parked out on the road. Friendly welcome and quickly checked in. Rooms better than I was expecting. Nicely appointed and nice and clean. Room had a radio but I had no idea how to set up and the TV; don't get me started. Why do hotels insist in disabling almost every function on their TV's. No TV guide. No channel listing. Can't type in channels directly. No TV channel displayed, etc. It took - and no word of a lie - almost 5 min to get from the 1st channel to 233 (Sky News) pressing the +/- buttons that were so slow to react. Drove me mad! WiFi was usual hotel dial up speeds. OK to pick up a few emails but not much more. Meal in brasserie was nice but a little bit on the expensive side. However, quality was good. As was breakfast the following morning. Nice location. Friendly staff. Nice restaurant. Poor technology

Clean and stylish , parking is limited due people arriving to use the gym for non guests. rooms are to a high standard and very modern. Super king sized beds which are a great surprise. Dogs are welcome here in parts of the hotel

Booked in hotel for Lytham festival with friends, really nice friendly hotel and our 2 bedroom was lovely and very modern and chic.. Will be returning next year.. Breakfast was really nice and lots of choice and great choice for gluten free for my friend and thank you to Vincent for all your help....

Just returned from the Glendower following 2 nights at Lytham Proms. From arriving at the hotel to leaving all the staff and management we're very friendly and helpful can't compliment them enough. Thanks for a lovely weekend see you next year. David and Pauline Eyers.

First time short 3 day stay, overlooking beach, room was excellent, staff excellent, good customer service. Location first class being a more mature couple, quite room. Would return without hesitation.

We hadl a wonderful stay as always. We have been here many, many times, staff are wonderful and lots of choice for breakfast. Talking if which, one member of breakfast waiting staff stands heads above all others....Vincent, thank you so much for your warm welcome and attention, you are a credit to the Glendower. 1 issue we did find was that there could do with a few more fans ezpecially for this recent hot spell, but I am being picky! Thank you again for a wonderful stay.

Has been attracted by very good reviews and EV car chargers available. First warning came with response for my question about possibility to reserve parking spot next to car charger - turned out to be impossible. First night I was just lucky - managed to fit into tiny spot. Struggle to fit charging cable into charger socket - probably locking bolt stuck. Went to reception and unhelpful receptionist just said: "all working fine" and didn't bother to offer any help. Eventually managed to push cable into socket. Next day I came back with very low charge just to find that there is wedding party in hotel and car park full (one place left far from charger). Tried to talk to the same receptionist - completely ignored. Despite hotel having full list of owners of parked cars no one bother to attempt to find owner and suggest the swap. Hour later, after my suggestion, they took my phone number "in case". In conclusion: EV support is illusion - if you choose this hotel based on charger presence don't count on it. No space reservation, no help in trouble. Better charge elsewhere. On plus side: room clean and silent.

We held our wedding at the Glendower and the service we received was excellent. Sophie in particular was great and helped to make the whole day so smooth and stress-free. The food and drink were of great quality and the rooms were beautiful. Top marks for the breakfast too! A huge thanks to all the team.

£14 for afternoon tea. 3 of the tiniest soldier 'sandwiches' with hardly any filling on them I have ever seen, with one piece of cress placed on the top of all three. It wouldn't have filled a toddler! The Scones were the driest ive ever tasted and the small cakes left a lot to be desired. I asked for salt and pepper and mayonnaise and the look I got of this waiter was so very rude, and he forgot to bring them, so I had to ask yet again. Considering the size of the hotel they need to rethink their price of £14 for their so called afternoon tea. I was so hungry I called in the chippy right after. Raise your game Glendower. I was very disappointed in the afternoon tea, considering you can pay probably the same for a much better, larger and more varied afternoon tea elsewhere. ps I would have put a photo on here of the 'sandwiches' but they were that small you'd have to zoom in 100% to see them!

What a superb hotel the Glendower is. Having just returned from a 3 night stay with our gorgeous pup Rosie, we find ourselves finding excuses to return again. We stayed in a lovely sea view room on the 2nd floor with plenty of room for the pup to spread out and glorious views over the beach and North Sea. Excellent location for long beach walks, wanders into the square and visiting family in Lytham. Food was fabulous, service even better and everybody loved Rosie, always making such a fuss over her, which of course she loved. Big huge thanks to Tina and the rest of the team for making us feel so warmly welcomed throughout our entire stay, we shall definitely be returning x

Firstly location is perfect, 30 seconds walk from the pier, beach and best fish and chip shop in England. We stayed here with two children (aged 5 and 18 months) and our dog so location was ideal. Plenty of parking space in hotel, we arrived and greeted so warmly by about 3 different staff. This theme continued throughout our stay, nothing seemed too much. Our dog was treated better than I have been at plenty of other hotels. When we went to our room she even had a letter addressed to her (my daughter was delighted), a dog bowl with water and food and a blanket of her own. The room was amazing, big, huge double bed hut best of all the the adjoining room for the kids. It even had its own TV but our kids don't really watch much telly. It had two double beds but a cot was provided, my 5 year old was really excited to sleep over with her brother and it gave me and mummy some privacy in the night. Big bathroom with bath/shower was lovely. Breakfast was fantastic, the dog had her own sausages brought out and food was plentiful and delicious. We've been to St Anne's for the past 4 years for weekends but will only stay here from now on. Big thank you to Vincent especially, so lovely with my kids and the dog but all staff were. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

Absolutely delicious and definitely value for money. Jim and Vincent such pleasant staff to be served by. Very helpful welcoming and friendly. Surroundings were beautiful and the food was fab. Would highly recommend it.

Lovely, traditional, seaside hotel. The view from the dunes is stunning. Excellent customer service - I arrived there literally just before the restaurant closed, but nothing was too much trouble and they gave me a table in the restaurant. The food was impressive - quality and cost, both the evening meal and breakfast. Will definitely be going back.

My Mum, Dad and Grandma stayed for the weekend last week and the rest of the family joined them for afternoon tea. There were 9 adults and 2 children in total for Afternoon Tea. The staff were fantastic and the food was scrummy. The 2 children asked for Strawberry Jam sandwiches and were thrilled when they were brought their own slate full of sandwiches without crusts, just the way they liked them. My Mum is a vegetarian and she also got her own slate full of delicious sandwiches. The cakes were plentiful and we even got a box to bring home the leftovers. I would definitely recommend this hotel to friends and if we are back in the area will pop in again for Afternoon Tea.

Lovely hotel suite with fairly large balcony, large bathroom and spare twin room attached in the suite. Would recommend this for family. We had breakfast on the balcony on a lovely sunny morning overlooking the beach !

We have just been for lunch with my Daughters and family. The 2 younger grandchildren have Autism and struggle with crowds, we were given a side room where the grandchildren could play and not annoy the other diners. The staff could not have done more and David was more than helpful, the food was excellent as was the staff. Would recommend to anyone and will certainly go back, next it will be the afternoon tea. Thanks for making the lunch enjoyable.

We visit Blackpool regularly and have stayed at the Glendower 3 times because it's better value for money than a lot of the B&B's in Blackpool and it's only a stone's throw away.Plus points are it's got free parking, it's in a quite location, a nice breakfast with plenty of choice and caters for veggies and pescatarians, free wifi, bath and shower and the rooms are clean. Downside is that the cheapest rooms are fairly small, one stay the bed was very uncomfortable, but has been ok the other times, rooms need better bedside lighting as it's too dark with the main light off so it's difficult to read in bed if you don't want a bright light. On the whole it's good enough for a weekend break and much nicer than some of the B&B's we've stayed in.

Nice room with most comfortable sitting area in bay window but somewhat pokey bathroom which lacked somewhere to place toletries .Maintenance in respect of replacing light bullbs somewhat lacking. Fortunately we were not disturbed by the noise of dogs of numerous owners. .

My mum and I attended the Faulty Towers night at the Glendower. We received a warm welcome from the hotel staff and a glass of Prosecco on arrival. We had a delicious three course meal whilst being thoroughly entertained by a brilliant cast portraying Basil, Sybil and Manuel. The dining room was lovely and airy. The tables set out well and beautifully set. All the hotel staff were friendly, hard working and efficient. I can highly recommend this hotel for providing a night of brilliant food, ambience and entertainment.

Had a wonderful stay. We decided to book direct and the hotel happily matched a cheaper price online. They also throw in a bottle of wine and a £5 food credit when you book direct which was nice. We arrived a little early before our room was ready so just dumped our bags and went exploring. On return, all our bags were waiting in the room. Room itself was a family room. This was perfect for 3 adults as it had extra space with the beds split between two bedrooms. Rooms are freshly decorated and look good. Our room (258) could do with having the bedside cabinets and chair replaced as they are a bit scruffy, other than that the room was great. Brekkie in the morning was delicious. Woman who checked us in (forget her name) was really nice as was Ian who took great care of us all.

My sister wanted afternoon tea for her hen day, so as we were visiting St Annes for her bridal fitting we booked The Glendower. What a fantastic time we had. Greeted by friendly smiles, we arrived too early but we were made to feel very welcome. Afternoon tea was very delicious and we ate way too much, the staff couldn't do enough. My adult son has special needs and was treated so lovely. I was so pleased there was a large disabled toilet, which he loved. There was no music or any distractions for him, I was so happy, as he enjoyed it more than the 'hen'. Many thanks to all staff, really hope to come back. Really good value for money.

I had a barking good time in St.Annes staying at The Glendower with my owners. I do love long walks and to be pampered 24hrs a day so The Glendower was perfect for me. Directly opposite the hotel front entrance there's miles of quiet, golden sandy beach where dogs are allowed, a perfect location for a little pooch like me. We walked for miles! Our executive room had a view of the sea and the hotel provided me with a fleecy blanket and feeding bowls with some treats. I laid quietly sleeping on my thick velvet blanket from home (to keep everything clean) whilst my owners dined in the lounge, that was great, after all the long walks I needed sleep believe me! All dogs are offered lovely sausages too. Yum! This is a good place for well behaved, super clean little dogs like me to enjoy a few days of seaside walks, sleep and sausages and some fuss from the nice waiters, so I'm hoping to come back there again.

Random night away and booked the suite with the balcony. Beautiful room with hall, 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, robes, slippers, couch, TV and balcony. Coffee machine in the room, bottled water and fruit. Clean and tidy and the staff were helpful and friendly. We did want to order room service but they finished at 9:30 so we ate snacks we had bought in the local shop. My husband went down to reception at 11pm ish looking to buy a bottle of wine and couldn't find any member of staff anywhere. There was a sign on reception saying to ring the phone which he did twice and still no one came. Again gave up and came back to the room and settled for a decaf coffee and bed. Would have had a hangover anyway so probably a good job no one was there. Ha

Good quality hotel for the price. Breakfast good value, good choice and well presented / served. Bedrooms clean and well maintained. Parking generally available. Relaxing and pleasant atmosphere Plus the staff were very helpful, polite and efficient.

The hotel rooms were very presentable and comfortable, but what made it even better was how happy the staff are to help and chat with you. One member of the hotel's bar staff even went out of his way to get to know my partner and me when we stopped by for a drink, which made all the difference.

Too many dogs, in the lounge, over the chairs and suites even a poodle sat on the receptionist lap! Apart from that hotel has great location on sea front, 300 yards from the centre. Nice and clean, room a little dark due to small window. Excellent breakfast includes continental and full English.

Perfectly placed for us. We like to cycle up and down the coast when we stay. Some lovely rooms, great breakfast and we love the table tennis room an added pleasure. We usually take an Autumn break and visit the cinema on each visit. We feel very comfortable in this hotel ??

We could find no fault with this lovely hotel. We had a spacious room tastefully decorated with comfy beds and a lovely large shower room. We had breakfast and an evening meal and both were delicious and perfectly cooked. All the members of staff were friendly and any query or issue was dealt with immediately. There is plenty of parking and the location is within walking distance to a variety of shops etc. Would recommend!

Dog friendly, rooms nice and clean, drinks typical hotel prices so not for an all night session, 5 mins to centre, breakfast nice but not self service cooked food. Just across from the beach, most staff give the impression they just want the day to end unfortunately Good value for money

The hotel is in a great location near the promenade and pier,and also the centre of town is within walking distance There is also plenty of parking within the hotels grounds The reception area is very well kept , there is also a restaurant and bar The first room we had was a comfort room which despite the size and no sea view was as it says comfortable and very clean There was a wedding reception being held at the hotel and our room was directly over the function room, I called reception to enquire what time the function finished, she immediately apologised and offered us a executive room straight away We moved to the room and it was fantastic very tastefully decorated,twice the size of the previous room with a great view of the seaside It also had a large bathroom with s walk in shower Very happy with the customer service given and especially the room Will definitely be visiting the again very soon and will definitely pay the extra for a executive room with a sea view 10/10

This hotel is beautiful. The room we had was a superior with a very large bay window huge bed and double ended bath. The soft furnishings are bang on trend. Breakfast is very good with a great selection of help yourself and cooked to order and strong coffee which is always a plus. But the best thing of all is the people that work here, their greatest assets, welcoming friendly and nothing to much trouble thank you for a lovely stay.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay here over the Bank Holiday weekend. Lovely clean modern rooms with friendly & attentive staff. Big thanks to David who sorted out one minor issue and made our stay more enjoyable. Fab breakfast in coast. Would happily rebook again.

Pros: Nice hotel, staff friendly and helpful, location on the beach which I am sure is fabulous with a sea view. Didn't eat dinner here but the breakfast was nice. Good parking outside, although would be quite busy at peak times but there is time restricted parking on the road outside. Good WIFI. I found the bed very comfy with nice pillows. Room was clean and tidy. Cons: My room (249) was above something that sounded a bit like a generator, the general humming sound was fine but every 20mins or so all throughout the night it kicked in a little bit extra meaning I had an awful broken nights sleep. The only other point was the breakfast room was cold. I sat there in my coat and a lot of other guests looked uncomfortably cold. (hopefully wont be in an issue with warmer weather!!)

It's really difficult to find anything really good or bad to say about this hotel. The value is ok, the staff do just enough without being overly helpful. The rooms are clean but mattresses are like sleeping on a water bed. The breakfast was adequate. I arrived late, and had to search the ground floor to find a member of staff to check me in. Other than that, everything was AVERAGE :-)

Lovely place x fab afternoon tea x BUT I realise it is a dog friendly place but not in the dining areas don't think kindly to a barking yapping dog throughout our celebration plus I'm allergic to animals so sneezing and coughing since I got home won't return

The Glendower is a very special hotel, with staff who go that extra mile to ensure you have an enjoyable stay. When we travel or holiday with our dog, we still like to have a spacious room and be able to enjoy a hotel's facilities: we had an executive sea-view room, could enjoy the lounges with her, she loved the sausages each morning and we could park where we could see her from the Coast restaurant during breakfast and dinner. Rohan was an absolute star and he looked after us superbly from morning till night. The Hotel gives great access to the beach over the dunes for (dog) walking and a path to the side of the adjacent school takes you to the park, a (dog-friendly) cafe and St. Anne's for any essential shopping; a kiosk near the pier serves the most fabulous Kelly's ice-cream. Lytham - in the car - has boutique shops and the fabulous Stringers department store. However, you don't feel that you need to use the hotel just as a base as it is great just being there! We would like to thank all the staff concerned and look forward to returning.

Stayed here over a February weekend. Remarkable renovation since it was taken over, they allow dogs however it can be a bit of a treck up and down from the room when they need to go out. The duvet in the room was ripped and didn't seem to be laundered properly. The breakfast is varied with both continental and cooked on offer. The cooked was a bit disappointing (hard bacon and overcooked egg). Dinner was nice, and welcoming atmosphere created for the sunday afternoon tea with the pianist. Great location for the pier, beach and other amenities.

I attended a friend's wedding at this hotel and also took the photos. The staff were just amazing, nothing was too much trouble and they worked their socks off to make a great day for the happy couple. Great clean hotel with utterly brilliant staff. Would happily recommend this hotel to my friends and family. Thanks for all your hard work and constant smiles, you guys rock.

Could not fault the glendower,all the staff friendly and helpful,breakfast this morning was bob on and the sea view room we had was spotless. Came last year with our little dog but we came for the cheeky £60 getaway. We will be coming back. Thank you

Me and my partner stayed here for one night on bed and breakfast, we booked through the website and it's amazing value for money. We booked a superior room with breakfast for £116. We where going to book through booking.com but decided not to as it was £104 for a standard room. We where allocated the Fairhaven suite and it is beautiful, huge room with two bedrooms, full bathroom, walk in rainforest shower. In the master bedroom it has a free standing roll top bath which was amazing! The bed was so comfortable and huge, nice pillows too. The breakfast was great, good selection of cereals, juices and fruits. They also had Danish pastries and croissants. You help yourself to tea, coffee and toast. Cooked breakfast was very good and the two guys serving where friendly. We will definitely return soon. ??

We spent Friday and Saturday night at the hotel. When we arrived it was busy with wedding guests but Hannah spotted us and checked us in very swiftly. Our room was a standard double and was fine for the two of us. We ate in the hotel both nights and the food was very good and plenty of it, a good choice for everyone. The breakfast was also excellent with a good variety to choose from. The staff in the hotel are all excellent always smiling and seeing if you have everything you need. Special mention to Vincent in the restaurant for making sure all our dishes were up to standard what a happy person he is, a credit to your hotel. thanks for a great stay

Myself, my fiancee and our dog Patchie stayed at the Glendower from the 4th till the 7th of April. First of all, we booked a compact room which we wouldn't do again as too claustrophobic for the two of us. We tried to upgrade to a larger room but nothing available due to a few weddings. (Totally my fault !! ). Service was excellent and special praise to Vincent who treated our dog better than us. Food was excellent and we are in the lounge with Patchie at our feet. Got very busy because of the weddings but this was expected and the staff coped very well. Even management rolled their sleeves up which was good to see. Would definitely stay again without question !!

This is a great hotel. The staff are helpful and friendly. First visit here for us but won't be the last. We had a large sea view room with beautiful views. The standard of cleanliness was very high throughout the hotel. The restaurant menu was a little “ Cordon bleau” for my taste, but appeared very popular. The centre of St. Anne's was within walking distance, and Lytham a short bus or car ride. Look forward to seeing you all again soon ! Mrs DAVIES, daughter and granddaughter.

Excellent venue for birthday celebrations with separate reception, dining and lounge areas to meet all your needs. Staff were very attentive and an excellent buffet to suit all ages from 1 year to 100 year old guests ! Quality decor and table presentation all added to a memorable day for 45 family and friends.

A large (dog friendly) hotel, superbly friendly and right across the road from the beach. Plenty of parking, good sized room, great food and easy on the pocket. We will definitely stay again. All members of staff were really friendly and helpful, notably Damian and Vincent who ensured we (and the dog) were fed and watered appropriately.

Just got back from a great visit to the Glendower Hotel with our two dogs. The location is fantastic as it right opposite the beach so the dogs had a great time running to their heart's content. Staff couldn't have been more helpful and friendly and always had time to answer any questions or say hi to the dogs. There was a lovely bowl of treats and blanket waiting for them in the room. Obviously we had a dog friendly room which was a good size and very clean. We ate in the restaurant every night as the food was so good, the staff offered to set us up a dining table in the lounge but it was good to have half an hour to ourselves! The hotel was nice and quiet (we were there midweek) and the sound didn't travel too much between rooms which is great when you have a Jack Russell! Would definitely stay here again.

Stayed overnight here, the staff on arrival where very welcoming. Room was lovely obviously newly decorated to a high speck .with everything you need TV .Tea/coffe making facilities, radio alarm clock ,plenty of towels and beautiful modern bathroom, Staff in restaurent very helpful and polite food good. Would definitely recommend and would not hesitate to return if In The area.

Took grandchild to see the lights. Dudn't want to spend too much for onr night so this was ideal. We had room 111, which was a large room with huge double bed and a separate smaller room with twin beds. No view to speak of, but hotel close to the sand dunes. Car park is small but there is also street parking. There is a cafe style restaurant on the ground floor which was reasonably priced. Breakfast was good.

We stay at the Glendower twice a year for 3 night breaks. This is a fantastic hotel with beautiful refurbished rooms. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The food is excellent, like eating in a top restaurant. We thoroughly enjoy ourselves and would recommend it It's family and dog friendly and in a great position.

We were very pleased with our sea front executive room which was a good size, large comfortable bed & plenty of room. All areas we saw were clean & nicely decorated. Dogs are welcome everywhere except the restaurant. We did leave him & eat in the restaurant for one meal but then chose to eat in the lounge with him. Everything we ordered was very tasty & Louie enjoyed his breakfast sausages! There is a games room , gym & spa available. Staff were all friendly and helpful even when very busy with other events. We will definitely return after finding such a nice dog friendly location - hopefully to warmer weather. Our only recommendations to management would be coat hooks in all bedrooms for wet weather gear and pre warning of events as there was a wedding fair on during our stay which meant eating breakfast amidst the preparations & the lounge not being available through the event though all were very friendly.

Very pleasant three night stay here, great views of the Lancashire Riveria's famed endless sands and distant appearances of the Irish Sea. Really good breakfast choices and served rather than a buffet which was a welcome change. Reasonable bar and seating areas too. Ate in one evening and food was of a high standard with an excellent range, certainly on par with a decent outside restaurant, as it were.

From ringing up to book , always better to book direct. And speaking to Hannah who could not of been more helpful. .We have been times many all ways perfect. We booked a suite one which we had not been in before. I can honestly say it was stunning.So clean warm, beautiful decor. A bottle of wine in the room which you get by booking direct.The staff are all so nice and friendly and helpful. We had dinner on both evenings which were beautiful cooked and delicious. Really please try spending some time here.I have had special events here as well.Hayley is amazing in organizing them, again along with the special waiters. As you can see I can't praise enough. Please try it you will not be disappointed I promise.

We have just celebrated our wedding anniversary at this wonderful hotel. From the moment we enquired about booking it for the party Sophie and her team were there to help. They listened to what we wanted and provided it with no bother or fuss. No question or request was to daft. On the evening we were only small in comparison to a large function in their ballroom every detail was attended to unobtrusively with a smile from all the staff. Our bedroom was fabulous and I wish we could of taken the bed home it was so comfy. We would recommend the hotel, staff and venue with no reservations and hope to be back there for future functions.

WOW! It's like a five star hotel. Plenty of car parking and friendly reception as soon as you arrive and they can't do enough to help you. We were upgraded due to our Best Western reward club and it was amazing!!. Very modern, clean and amazing view of the seafront. Lots of drinks and fresh towels, with free fruit at reception. The breakfast was amazing.. Not just your typical fresh fruit, cereal and pastries. You could order kippers, smoked haddock and nothing was too much trouble. We will definitely be returning... Fabulous location, fabulous hotel and just shamazing.

We chose this dog friendly hotel at very short notice as we needed somewhere to stay for the night because we couldn't get back home due to adverse weather. The staff were very helpful and attentive, the room was clean and welcoming. Breakfast was excellent, top quality food - even cooked sausages were brought for our little doggies which was a really nice touch. Great location too. Would highly recommend.

Absolutely lovely birthday afternoon tea - very nice food, good choice of sandwiches, good service, beautifully presented and extremely good value for money. All served in the lovely front room with a view of the sea. We all enjoyed it very much and would highly recommend it - thank you.

Booked a 4 night “prepaid” stay. Room 108 first floor, sea view. The Minuses Issue 1: Very dirty floor/skirting board area at side of desk which had never been cleaned for a long long time. Issue 2: Wall mirror missing, 2 screws remained in wall. Thought best to report to reception as soon as possible. Reception listened respectfully and assured us that the matter will be dealt with. 2 members of the Housekeeping Team were shown the issues by ourselves and when we returned to our room later in the day, guess what? Nothing had been done other than the waste bin had been relocated to distract the eye from the area. To make matters worse Issue 3: the bathroom / walk in shower not cleaned for 2 days!! Hannah at Reception was just as disappointed with the situation as we were, so an upgraded room was offered for our last night, which was appreciated. On checking out and settling our invoice for drinks and restaurant dining, we left knowing that the hotel management will investigate the matter further and take necessary action. Fair enough...... Then to our horror...Issue 4: I received an email just before noon implying we had left without settling our account, we were very hurt by this. A 2nd email arrived nearly 3 hours later apologising for their error. The Plusses Lovely location, very good services and facilities. All the restaurant staff were very friendly and very helpful. Breakfast menu choice good, however there was no ham served with the cheese at the buffet area. Coast restaurant menu good. Very good children's menu. We liked the restaurant decor, bar area and found the lounge areas to be great spaces for relaxing. Summary Sadly this is the worst experience of staying at a Best Western hotel we have ever had, and this 4 night break was very important to us, therefore we implore the management to ensure other guests never feel this way, because The Glendower can “raise the bar” to hopefully reach 9+ Tripadvisor ratings in the near future!!

We stayed in the Ribble Suite on a bitterly cold weekend on 24th & 25th February. This was our first visit to this hotel and it must be said that they deserve their recent upgrade with Best Western. The staff are well trained (and a credit to the hotel manager and the business), polite and most helpful. Our room was excellent and the price quite fair. We ate in the restaurant on our first evening - we were the only dinners as they other guest were attending a function elsewhere in the hotel - and had some fun with the waiter regarding the 'emptiness' - all taken in good spirits. The food was first class. Breakfast is very good and the breakfast staff most helpful and polite.This hotel is warm, clean, friendly and has a relaxed atmosphere.. We will certainly return.

Booked this hotel to see Milton Jones at the Lowther Pavilion. It was only on arrival we discovered the hotel was in St Annes, and the theatre in Lytham, over 3 miles. Despite this setback, we found the hotel clean, tidy and comfortable. Didn't book for breakfast, as there's a Wetherspoons just around the corner. We did have a reasonably priced nightcap in the hotel bar.

Stayed here for a few days dinner bed and breakfast. The room was a bit gloomy at the rear of the hotel but the hotel was very nice. Staff were lovely. The food was lovely especially the evening dinner but the restaurant was a bit cold, it did not spoil the meal.

Tried to book a room and was quoted a very high price compared to earlier stays. Asked if they could do any better and was still quoted a ridiculously high price. Am a member of the Best Western rewards scheme and that didn't make any difference. Completed the contact form on the website and no one got back to me. Have written to them general manager and they haven't responded either. Just rude. Plenty of other hotels along the prom in st Anne's to try and you will certainly get a better deal. Love it when a business is arrogant enough to think they are doing well and no need to respond to what we're once regular and supportive guests

This is our fourth visit to the Glendower. I didn't think that the experience could get any better . Well it has !. The staff from arriving at reception to the chambermaid could not be more helpful and believe me, my wife tests anyone. Each visit, we have been impressed with the quality of the accommodation, however this time we have been given one of their 2 suites. Queen size bed on one bedroom and 2 twins in our sons room. Complimentary slippers.,bathrobes and a bottle of chilled wine . They'll have to drag us out of here. Mind you, we'll Have to set foot out of the room in the morning as we know how good the breakfast is.

Lovely hotel looks like it has recently been refurbished. Stayed in superior room which was spotlesly clean,spacious and very comfortable and had a great view of the sea. Breakfast very good. Will use again .

This hotel is fantastic - I can't complement it enough.. After being let down by booking.com and arriving at a CLOSED Hotel we arrived here late at night. Joey on concierge couldn't do enough for us - so accommodating. As it was my birthday we were also upgraded and given a complimentary bottle of wine. The dogs were openly welcomed. They're allowed everywhere in the Hotel apart from the restaurant. But if you want to eat in the lounge areas, the dogs can come too! Staff are so helpful and friendly - humans and canines alike receive the 5 star treatment. The gentleman who served breakfast was wonderful (didn't catch his name but I will before I leave) - spoiled us and the dogs ??. Definitely a must stay - with or without animals

We are lucky to live in St Annes and decided we'd book a meal in the Coast restaurant which is open to the public. We are so glad we did. The menu was varied and food delicious. Couldn't fault it. The staff were attentive and polite. A refreshing change from the usual eateries around here and one we will definitely be using again.

we visited this hotel some time ago and were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the refurbishment. The rooms were of a high standard. Breakfast was one of the best we have had. Staff very welcoming and accommodating. Handily placed for Lytham and only a couple of miles from Blackpool

Just returned from a break at this hotel. Everything was perfect, the room, the food and the staff. Nothing was too much trouble, the staff went out of their way to make sure we were enjoying our stay. A special mention to Hailey, who seemed to have the knack of being everywhere when we needed anything and always with a smile! The food was great and the breakfast was better than any, even other Best Western hotels. Lots of variety, fresh fruit, cereals, yogurts and a 'cooked to order' breakfast. We shall return, hopefully for longer next time!!

My wife & I decided on a late 2 night getaway and chose this hotel because of the great reviews, reasonable price & the unexpected January weather forecast of sunshine on the Fylde Coast!! Having spent most of my childhood in St Annes it was also an opportunity for a trip down memory lane. On arrival we were welcomed at check-in by Joey who was extremely polite & courteous explaining all the various hotel facilities. Our executive room with sea view had recently been refurbished as I understand have most, if not all the rooms. The furnishings in our room were of an extremely high quality and with a first class finish. We ate in the hotel on both nights and found the food very good; no complaints whatsoever. But what impressed us most were the staff, at reception, the bar & restaurant and housekeeping, who were all, without exception extremely helpful & polite - nothing at all was too much trouble. I'd highly recommend this hotel. Oh, and I nearly forgot that we walked from St Annes to Lytham St Annes along the promenade and coastal path. It's about 3 miles but well worth the effort / exercise particularly after a full English - which was also very good! We'll be visiting the Glendower again. Cheers.

This hotel is an example so so many up and down the country .an old building yes but there is a constant ongoing programme of updating all areas .the rooms are now modern and appealing with all home comforts .every effort is made to keep all areas of the hotel get equal attention.if only other hotels took a leaf out of the glendower model .weel done .keep it up .

I recently stayed overnight after a celebration held in one of their function rooms. This is the second time I have visited, although only the first time of staying. On arrival, I was greeted very well and have to say that most of the staff are extremely polite and will go out of their way to help. I was advised that the hotel had undergone a refurbishment recently, although I couldn't see any differences on the ground floor. When I went up to my appointed room, I found it to be quite small and cramped for a double, so was pleased to be travelling alone. The room had been decorated, but it appeared as though the wardrobes and bedside tables had been given a lick of paint by an inexperienced painter. The carpets in the room and corridor were still quite tired and had a slightly grubby appearance and the door to the room stuck open. The bathroom sink hot tap was loose and swiveled around. The rest of the decor was adequate for an overnight stay, but had my trip been longer, I would have asked for a different room, or moved to a different hotel. The food was really very good and plentiful, with great service, especially from Jim, who I remembered from my last visit and is a credit to the team. I have to say though, that everyone on duty does try their best to make your stay a pleasant one, so they definitely get top marks for customer relations and it's not really their fault that the decorations have been skimped on. In the words of 4 In A Bed, would I stay there again ? NO. Sorry :-)

This is an older style hotel which has seen better days - much in need of renovation. The room was up 2 flights - and good enough for the 1 night stay apart from the shower which blasted scalding water - and I couldn't get past the boiling stream to adjust it! A bit like a Carry On film....At least it is quiet and I slept well. Food is average - service friendly enough. No letter home on this one.

Really enjoyed our night away for a family 60th celebration. The hotel staff were flawless, every staff member we encountered was fantastic and couldn't do enough for you, they are all a credit to the hotel and obviously work very hard. The ribble view room was fantastic, we asked for this room as it has 2 bedrooms which is perfect for us and our children. The sunset looking out of the balcony windows ??. The buffet food at the function we could not fault, really nice. Breakfast also good, the kids loved the small nutella portions, however scrambled eggs on toast only came on one slice of toast, so toasted another piece ourselves. Disappointed the games room with the pool table and stacked full of spare tables like a junk store room. Will definitely come back to this hotel in the future, and hopefully we can have a game of pool!

We only stayed on an overnight stay but happily have stayed much longer. Our room , a family standard, was more like a suite. It was clean, airy, well furnished and decorated. All staff we came into contact with were more than helpful and polite. Breakfast was fresh and plentiful. Super hotel in an excellent location. Can't fault it!!

My wife and I recently visited the hotel along with some friends, we stayed for four nights and we booked bed breakfast and evening meals. we arrived and were given our room keys we found our double room and went in, we were a little disappointed, to be honest, as the bed looked a bit smaller than a double bed, and the room itself was quite small, however it was very clean, I myself struggle with arthritic knees so I need a shower as I cannot get out of a bath, we had both, but unfortunatly you could not turn the shower on unles you actually got into the bath as there was a glass screen that waas fixed to the bath, and the tempreture knob was broken.when we went down for our evening meal we were very pleased as the menu was great and we could order anything from it, the food was fantastic, every meal was superb, also the staff were great from the receptionists to the waiters. many thanks to all the staff. Decided to try this hotel again after a comfortable stay last year with a few unfortunate issues so glad we did Booked direct this time and reception staff on the phone and at check in check out were first class . Hotel had a calm tranquility about it and suites the area all the day staff we met were excellent professional &personable night staff a little less so but still fine Our executive room was good quality throughout with sumptuous soft furnishings nice new. Bathroom too Only slight downside was a rather small tv for the size of the room and average quality tea tray only one biscuit pack was a bit mean and no bottled water . Breakfast great quality and perfectly cooked and served in a beautiful restaurant Would definitely stay again after this experience glad we gave it a second chance

This is our 3rd stay at the Glendower. The hotel is perfectly situated to enjoy St Anne's and also the surrounding area. We stayed in a room with a sea view which was spacious and well thought out. The staff are excellent. Very welcoming helpful and friendly. Breakfast is excellent with lots of choice including eggs Benedict and scrambled eggs and smoked salmon. We will definitely be returning soon.

Came to this lovely hotel for a New Year Break. The hotel is in a lovely position for walks on the beach. Smart decor throughout, very good food and nice staff. The New Years Eve celebration was extremely good it was obvious that a lot of effort had gone into the event. I am sure we will revisit The Glendower at some time.

Arrived on the 27th Dec for a well earned break after a mad Christmas. Unfortunately was first put in a small budget room, my wife went down to reception and they said sorry it is the wrong room and we were took to another std double room, helped by Amanda -thank you, the offer of the wine was there great. The hotel is very up to date, walk in shower was lovely and modern. The room we stayed in was a little dark (could do with a single light maybe in the corner). Breakfast was superb, the only thing with the breakfast the eggs were stone cold, apart from that really nice hotel and happy staff. Would we go and stay again?? yes sure we have just booked again, happy 2018 to you all!

My family and friends booked the Glendower for the 4 night Christmas break from 23rd - 27th December... From the moment we arrived in the car park we were greeted by a lovely young guy who helped us with all our luggage and carried everything up two flights of stairs for us. The staff throughout our stay were absolutely first class!! Nothing was too much trouble for any of them. The room was spacious and lovely and suited our requirements perfectly. The meals were delicious, everything served was perfect including a sumptuous Christmas Lunch, Christmas Eve and Boxing Day Gala Dinners and a Gala buffet which was beautifully presented. The entertainment was good but it did tend to cater for the older clientele and so we would definitely request other types of entertainment for next year.... and something which could go on until much later in the evening!! It would be great if we could also have better organised team games and quizzes.... Anyhow we loved the Festive break @ Glendower so much that our party have all rebooked again for Christmas 2018!! For the money you pay it is absolutely amazing value and great fun too !! Thoroughly enjoyed by all!! Thanks to Victoria and staff!! ????????????

Me and my family stayed here for three nights in a family room. Upon arrive the staff were very welcoming and friendly and the hotel itself was very clean. The room was lovely and vary spacious with a nice bathroom. The food was good each night but it could have been better! The staff were very attentive to our every need I must say. Overall this hotel was nice for a short break

We booked this hotel for the 3 night Christmas break. We stayed in room 123 which is a compact classic. The signage on the corridor is wrong to the room. In the room the hot water tap in the bathroom sink swivels round! It is impossible to fill the kettle under the sink taps as there isn't enough room to fit the kettle under. You can't get to fill it from the bath taps either without getting into the bath as the shower screen is in the way! The heated towel rail stays on continually and is boiling hot at the bottom which is a hazard. The finish to the newly refurbished bathroom is poor. The double bed is small with poor quality bedding. The walls are paper thin. The access door to the corridor is squeaky. The lighting in the room is poor. There are 2 chairs in the compact room which take up too much space. The room is hot, even when the radiator is off. The double glazed window lock is ill fitting, my husband used some cardboard to make the window shut properly. The staff appear to be untrained. They work in isolation with no clear leadership. It's difficult to get a drink at the bar as it is often left unattended. I booked the stay directly with the hotel for which a bottle of wine is advertised as being given on arrival. I asked for this 3 times and was told if not in the room it would be placed there.It wasn't so I was then told I would receive it at check out. There are glossy brochures in the room advertising certain events which state there will be a bottle of wine in the room! All in all a Fawlty Towers experience at very expensive prices.

The Christmas party at the Glendower was excellent. The food was very good, the entertainment was good and the hotel itself is very smart and comfortable. My only concern was the price of the beer being over £4 a pint.

We are locals but stayed a few nights between moving houses and really enjoyed it. Our room was small but comfortable, think they call it compact, but it had everything we needed. They bed was a bit soft for my liking but you can't win them all. The breakfast was excellent with a large cold buffet area and hot food cooked to order. Jim was very helpful with by wife's non-dairy diet. We didn't take dinner so cannot comment. The only problem we had was the weather was atrocious, not their fault, and one afternoon on arriving back we got soaked at the front door which had been shut due to the high winds but there was no-one there to open it, which was their fault !

Terrible night in a room with a leaking roof and a less than comfortable bed. Wet gear & broken sleep is not what I wanted. Staff informed overnight and some sympathy but clearly the problem was already known about (told it was due to a faulty flat roof). Wasn't asked about my stay on check out. Disappointing.

this is my forth christmas party at the glendower. three evening parties.... the great free bar, canapes, bucks fizz arrival, 3 course meal, amazing dj and fish and chips to go home with yesterday i took 140 of my gorgeous customers for my zumba suzy party. the staff from the first booking of the event in June have been amazing. Sophie has done everything possible to keep up to date of all sep moneys been paid. right up to menu and seating arrangements the night before. on the day the staff laid out a beautiful Christmas decorated room that took your breath away. all my customers sat for 12 ish and the hot food was delivered.... bar staff incredibly helpful. the guy who seemed to be head organiser was so helpful.. with bits and bobs i was asking for to make the party go smoothly. there was a great bar man who helped me with pass the parcel.. i think he was enjoying the games too. i cannot sing the glendowers praises enough will definitely be booking for next year. so many happy customers... all commenting how great this hotel is. and even a afternoon tea raffle donation thank you so much.... couldn't have had a better day

This was our first time here and was great value for money as set price with unlimited drinks!my staff loved it!we are only a small team of 7 but with great food ,atmosphere and fun games!we will be there again next year!

Have just returned from a two night stay at this lovely hotel, we had a sea view executive room which was huge!!! The newly decorated rooms were just to our taste..modern, stylish and simple yet beautifully chic, the sea view was great, staff were just wonderful( big shout to John the night porter who was hilarious and hailey who was just lovely). Meal wise we ate breakfast only...freshly made cooked breakfast with a good choice of breads/cereals/ for the non carnivorous guests....spotlessly clean throughout. Our favourite part was the quiet room just past the reception...great place to catch up with the daily newspapers and relax...thanks to all the staff you made our weekend really special.

Good clean and tastefully furnished room - standard double. Good quality included breakfast. Great location on sea front and a few minutes walk to shops and cafes of St Annes. Christmas decorations not tacky unlike some other hotels on sea front.

Nice hotel with the highlight being the staff. They are so helpful and friendly. We had our dog with us and all made such a fuss over her. We will definitely return. This is a lovely area and we were so pleased to stay in such a comfortable hotel with GREAT staff.

A wonderful surprise to find this amazing room available for a visit to the area whilst catching up with family in the area. The hotel was welcoming and well kept. A real touch of luxury to be found in this family room - Fairview.

We had a joint party night with our parent company, colleagues from Glasgow stayed in the Hotel we joined them early evening for the Party night. Everything was first rate, staff were efficient and polite. There was a good on the menu all the food was hot and fresh. Comfortable lounges for when we needed a break from the dancing. We only booked this hotel as it was pet friendly, however don't let it put you off visiting if you don't have a pet, we had a pet friendly family room and it was perfect with a separate sleeping area for the kids, if there had been a pet in the room before you would not have known, the room was very clean and well presented, Pets are allowed every where in the hotel apart from the restaurant, this was not a problem as we eat in the bar, the food was very good Breakfast in the morning was cooked to order and very tasty The beach across from the hotel is beautiful and easy to get to with a nice pier and sea front with in easy walking distance Great gym, probably the best i have been to in a hotel Finally the staff, these people were great, very friendly and nothing too much trouble would definitely recommend to anyone

This was our first visit, and we were looking for somewhere to relax and feel pampered. We FOUNd IT !!!!! Very friendly Reception and welcome. Hotel looks to be completing quite a refurbishment and feels very good. Very clean and well manitained property. The staff throughout were always courteous and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. Situated to the north of the Hustle and bustle of the Sea Side Holiday hotels , but within 5 minutes walk along the prom to St Annes Centre.

Recently had a visit to this hotel with my wife. We enjoyed a superb evening dinner, choice of food, served with style and at a very reasonable price. Having sampled hotel meals in London in the last week, THE GLENDOWERis up with the best and is worthy of much praise and would highly recommend it.

We booked this hotel on booking.com after typing in pet friendly hotels but when we arrived there we was told that there was only so many pet friendly rooms and that they was all taking we did not no this as booking.com did not state this when booking the room but they overlooked this and still let us have the family room which was lovely and clean and lovely and warm the beds where really comfy abd cosy the receptionist was very helpful and went out of his way to make sure my 1 year old daughter had a cot to sleep in we will deffo be booking this hotel again thank you so much for a lovely break ??

We stayed her for 10 days in September. Booked the Ribble Room which is a 2 room suite. The carpets, couch and chair were very dirty and the room smelled. I removed one chair from the room because it smelled like urine. The carpets were stained and we could not go without shoes. Very disappointed. The staff was friendly however but seemed over worked.

Such a lovely hotel, beautiful room overlooking a lovely sandy beach. Been made to feel so welcome and staff are so attentive to both myself and my dog. We have had a great time. Thank you so very much??

We had our wedding here in Nov 2016 which was amazing and we could not fault anything. We then stayed here on Sunday for our wedding anniversary. As they knew it was our wedding anniversary there was a card in the bedroom for us which was lovely gesture. Even in the morning when we went to check out a lady on the desk said "I hear congratulations is in order". The Food was amazing and we had our evening meal and breakfast there. The staff are so friendly and helpful especially Sophie. This really helped at meal times as I have allergies and they informed me of what I could have to eat. The bedroom was beautiful. We couldn't have asked for a better stay and we will be booking to stay again.

We have been staying at the Glendower for a few years now and each year, under Victoria's management, the hotel gets better! A warm welcome is guaranteed from hard working and very helpful staff who remain at the hotel from year to year. The bedrooms are all recently updated and the ground floor offers extensive comfortable lounge areas for chatting, relaxing and enjoying the bar - many modern hotels have minimal ground floor facilities. The Coast restaurant would succeed on its own an is very much better than many hotels, with an extensive a la carte menu that everyone should enjoy. There is even a big selection of chef prepared dishes at breakfast, in addition to a buffet. The hotel is perfectly located to explore the local area, almost opposite St Anne's Pier. We abandon our cars in the hotel car park (no charge) and either walk or take the regular bus services to Fairhaven Lake, Lytham shops etc or into Blackpool and onwards to Fleetwood. The beach is vast and well always visit the Life boat station. There is plenty to do! I would thoroughly recommend this hotel for a relaxing and enjoyable break. We always leave refreshed and want come back!

The room tucked away at the back. Bath did not retain water, fault with the plug. The hairdryer was fixed to the wall about two yards from the nearest mirror! The perils of requesting a single room. Hotels never seem to like single travellers. Food not wonderful, beef awful. Noisy party on the Saturday night. Staff fine.

Second visit for me, both visits for work. Didn't review the first time around but the niggles from then still stand. On the positive side, it's a great location, and if you get a room at the from then you get a great view.. On the negative then some basics, the wifi is rubbish, from two separate rooms. The tv system is also worse than rubbish with more than 50% of channels not working. The food and staff are decent enough but I'd say 3 star at best. I've stayed there because of location both times, I'll look elsewhere next time.

We went in a family group and occupied a family and a double room. The rooms were very spacious and presented beautifully. There are a variety of very comfortable lounges where you can enjoy a drink, snack or afternoon tea. The prices in the restaurant are reasonable and the food delicious. The staff were all very pleasant - the dining room staff were absolutely super.

Have stayed at this Hotel in the past with mixed feelings but under its new management cannot shout its praises too highly. Major refurbishment has renovated it to a high standard. Rooms comfortable, food excellent and staff friendly.The Manager Hailley bent over backwards to make our 3 day stay stress free, be it tables for 8 at dinner or a last minute lounge lunch for 8. Will definitly be returning.

I probably should not review a hotel while I am still staying in it. I should also refrain from knee-jerk responses after a 9 hour working day with a 2.5 hour drive after it. But I'm feeling a bit cranky and it's late, so here goes! I arrived at The Glendower at about 8.30pm to find the door locked. It is an automatic door with one of those accessible buttons to trigger it, but it does not work and I was left trying to ring the bell or catch a receptionist's eye to get let in. Having eventually gained access I was quickly checked in and given directions to my room. The hotel is, as you will have gathered from other reviews, a bit of a rabbit warren with some odd room numbering, but after 10 wasted minutes with two heavy cases, I had to admit defeat and head back to reception..."which stairs did he tell you? Oh, he's new, it's much better up this way, here, I'll show you!". The room wasn't bad and me and a colleague got into Anatolia, the Turkish Restaurant just before they shut up for the night, so we returned to the hotel stuffed and mellow...only to find we were locked out again. Repeat the ring door bell, wave at reception, pray, curse, etc. until someone leaving gave us a chance to sneak in. Despite all that, it's not a bad hotel. It just isn't good either. It's a bit like one of my old school reports; not enough attention to detail, but pleasant enough.

What a beautiful, genuinely, 'Pet Friendly' **** hotel which has the perfect location, atraight across from the sand dunes for invigorating walks. All the staff were excellent , most friendly, approachable and helpful. In particilar, Joey, on reception gave us a very warm welcome, and Hailey was superb seeing to our and Wilf 's (! our 5 y.o black labrador) needs ie doggie biscuits & especially cooked doggie sausages . Very comfortable and spotlessly clean. Already looking forward to retutning along with our daughter & partner. I travel for business and have been based in Lytham for the past 9 months. I've stayed at the Glendower around 70 nights now. I primarily picked the hotel because it had a gym but have since continued to stay because all the staff go out of their way to make your stay as pleasant as possible. Hannah on reception and Jim at breakfast particularly have made working away from home for so long easier than it should have been. Thank you to everyone at the Glendower and for the card left for me when they knew I wouldn't be coming back - genuinely touching. If I'm ever back in the area I know where I will be staying.

My partner and I, visited this hotel with our two small terriers. The welcome mat was well and truly out, including a blanket, food and water bowls, and a little snack. The beach is within 100 metres of the hotel.. we found walking the dogs around a delight as many people said hello. They found many new friends on the beach. At the far end of Blackpool we found a lovely green area near Norbreck castle hotel for walking. For the adults. We were very pleased with our sea view room. The breakfast had a huge variety to suit our needs. The evening meals we passed on, choosing to go local. There was a bit of a fault with the toilet, but someone was looking at it within 3 minutes of reporting. Our experience also included treatments in the salon. We had a thoroughly relaxing and rewarding time. The hotel is of an age where strange steps are along corridors, and it isn't just straight lines to go everywhere. We like that character. There is plenty of parking. The staff were friendly and helpful. Exemplary. We will return and wouldn't hesitate to recommend a stay here. If you want access to Blackpool, but don't want to be in the bustle, or enjoy pleasant beach walks this hotel must be a contender.

Stayed here with my husband and baby. We paid £135 per room, definatley not worth it. Trying to manuver around the corridors upstairs with a puschair was nearly impossible. Surley people have had this problem before? But we were not warned even when staff saw us walking in with a pushchair. We booked this hotel away from blackpool centre as we thaught it would be child friendly however there were people having what seemed like a party in the corridor right outside our room until 4am... Abit of a nightmare when trying to get a 4 month old off to sleep. The hotel downstairs is lovely but the rooms upstairs are very small and not what u expect for the money. You would think for the price breakfast would be included. Wont be returning.

My husband and I went for a weekend away to see the illuminations! Having Never been to Blackpool before, the hotel owners were very welcoming and helpful! We are so glad we picked this hotel to stay in! Cleanliness was impeccable, as was the breakfast! Thank you so much for adding to a very memorable trip for us!

The hotel was very well placed, close to the beach (although the sea a lot further away), St Anne's is Flat and easily accessible for people with disabilities. The hotel was spotlessly clean with very pleasant staff, including an Aiden Connor lookalike as Manager. Food was very well presented and delicious,. Certainly a great place to visit.

Excellent choice of hotel. Super food in the restaurant and very pleasant and helpful staff. Rooms very good. Plenty of car parking space and well located hotel near the main street in Lytham St Annes and a stones throw from the beach. Looking forward to another visit.

Stayed recently to celebrate my wife's birthday. Reception (Lettitia) was very helpful in arranging to decorate the room prior to our arrival. The room we had (104) was large, in good order with a sea view although the water doesn't come that close the shore!! Not to everybody's taste was the location of the bath which is in the middle of the room rather than in the en suite. It is furthest from the window so exposure is unlikely!! The hotel was busy with a function so we were asked to eat late which suited us anyway. When we arrived at the restaurant there were only one or two other tables occupied so we probably could have come earlier if we wanted. The food was tasty and the service OK. The one thing that annoyed us was the setting up of breakfast whilst we were eating which at times was very noisy as the plates 'hit' the tables near to where we were sitting. Surely it can wait until everybody had gone? We had breakfast the next morning. There is no buffet as the waiter takes your order. You then assume it is cooked to order but that is dispelled as it arrives quickly and was luke warm at best. Reception also assured me it was cooked to order when I mentioned it on our departure. We have stayed at this hotel in past and we can see the investment there has been in rooms, public areas and staff training. In our opinion there just needs to be attention to the areas highlighted for this to move to a 5/5. It is worth booking the hotel direct as there are incentives to do so like a free bottle of house wine. Make sure you ask when you ring. No doubt we will be back in the New Year.

Good points: The public lounges are lovely - nice decor and views There is a games room Gym is excellent, especially with the extra room since my last visit Breakfast menu is excellent, food arrived quickly and choice was good Decent wifi speeds Bad points: Unless you pay for an upgraded room you will have a long walk and a small room. The sink in my room was too small to fill the kettle (had to use bath taps) and the shelf position above the sink made it difficult to clean my teeth without hitting my head. Too many cushions and bolsters on the bed - pretty but pointless and just take up limited space.

This is our second visit to this seafront hotel this year. We chose it as it is dog friendly rather than just dog tolerant. They give your dog as big a welcome as we the guests get. All the staff are friendly and very attentive, and nothing seems too much trouble for them. The cleanliness is excellent. The food, which seems all home made, was excellent too. Our room was spacious, clean and comfortable. Just to sum it up it is a warm, welcoming, friendly and ideally located hotel worthy of a 4 star rating.

Stayed at the Glendower over a weekend whilst attending a wedding at another venue. Hotel is situated on the promenade opposite the sandhills and beach and only a short walk away from St Anne's town centre. The hotel has free parking although we visited on a bank hoilday weekend so spaces were at a premium. Hotel check in staff were welcoming and helpful although we did have problems with the magnetic card they gave us as it wouldn't open the door, this necessitated three visits back to reception before we got it sorted (we also saw guest with similar problems and on our second day had to get the card reprogrammed again). Our room was a standard one, a bit on the small side but ok for a two night stay, the bathroom with over bath shower was very smart and looked newly refurbished. As it was such a nice afternoon we sat at the front of the hotel with friends but quickly became too hot as there was no shade. There were bases for umbrellas but when I asked at reception they said they'd all been damaged by the winds. I commented that it wasn't too big of a task to bring them in or at least replace them when damaged. Unfortunately for the hotel we decided to walk into town for a drink rather that from their bar. We didn't have dinner in the Coast Restaurant but had breakfast on two mornings, it's set in quite modern decor and again looks to have been recently refurbished. Again the staff were friendly and helpful and the waiter served "full English" was a welcome change from the buffet breakfast which nowadays seems to be the norm. There were also plenty of cereals, fruit, yoghurts and continental breakfast items on offer as well. We slept comfortably on both nights, on the first night there were a couple of functions being held but the music stopped on the stroke of midnight so not a problem. One thing we were surprised at was the hotel was dog friendly, had we known this we might have had seconds thoughts about booking, but maybe they keep certain rooms for dog owners. All in all we had an enjoyable weekend at the Glendower and would recommend it for a short break.

Traditional hotel at first glance. When you looks little closer you find an Edwardian building,well decorated and furnished. They look after your dog like a lord. Bedroom had dog biscuits and water dish ready for you and also a blanket. In addition there was a letter written to the dog welcoming her. She was well impressed. Bedrooms are well furnished with new modern ensuite. We only had breakfast as we were out all day,but the range of items served was surprising. Staff were most helpful both in the Coast restaurant and on the desk including the night staff when you need to take the dog to perform. John and Gaynor .

We stayed at the Glendower for three nights recently. What a great experience! From check in, to Room everything First Class. We were Half Board. Food was excellent. Staff very friendly. a particular mention must go to Hailey who was very helpful to a couple on the next table, the lady had certain dietary requirements, Hailey helped her with the menu, she even went to talk to the Chef on the ladies behalf, she is an asset to the Glendower. Our room was a seafront room, very large and beautifully decorated. The bed was Huge!! First Class Hotel

We stayed here for one night in August. We got the impression that they really wanted us to feel welcome. It was a very pleasant stay. The hotel has a nice lounge area and the restaurant is spacious. Our room was on the small side but adequate and spotlessly clean. The beds were comfortable and the tea-making facilities were welcome. The free Wi-Fi was also good. We enjoyed our breakfast, with its part buffet and part waiter served for the actual cooked breakfast. The parking was adequate. We would certainly stay there again.

Firstly I'd like to say that I travel the world and the UK on business and so stay at many many hotels, also many Best Western's. My stay at the Glendower Hotel was for a weekend leisure trip with my son for a TVR Car Club gathering in Blackpool. I booked a twin room using my Best Western Diamond Reward Points. The Pro's of the hotel are that it's located right on the seafront and is a short walk from St Anne's Pier and a short drive from Blackpool. The hotel is nicely decorated inside and out and has a warm welcome feel to it. We did not eat at the Hotel so I can't comment on their food or dining service. Our twin room was also very nicely decorated and well appointed. Now the Con's... There was no internet working for the duration of our stay. I was told it was down 'due to bad weather', but to be frank it was not windy and it wasn't raining, so not sure why the weather was so bad as to take down the internet? When I reported the problem at a couple of points during our stay (Friday / Saturday) I was basically told there was nothing they could do as the I.T. support services were not available during the weekend. Now I'm sorry but internet access in this day and age is something that should be a given and considered a basic 'must have' for guests. As a company CEO I had work to do on the Friday evening and I was basically stumped without internet connectivity. If I was aware that there would be no WiFi I would have stayed else where as it is that important to me. Our twin room had two single beds as you would expect, they did seem particularly small and I spent all night feeling like I was about to fall out of bed and so my stay was not exactly 'comfortable'. Then the other problem was that our room was exceptionally hot (even though it was mild outside) and there seemed to be no way to control this. The towel rail / radiator in the bathroom was red hot and I couldn't find anyway to turn it off (although I didn't ask housekeeping). As a Diamond Rewards member I did get a free drink from the bar on arrival which was nice and greatly appreciated. In short this is a nice hotel, it was just a shame that the 3 'cons' made my stay 'Average' compared to the many others I have year on year on my travels.

Having held our own wedding at The Glendower in 1986, it was very special to return again for our daughter's wedding.The refurbishments that have been done are very tasteful and the hotel looks great on all the wedding photos.The Georgian suite is a perfect size and shape for holding a wedding breakfast for up to 70 guests and 110 in the evening.From our initial visit, Sophie could not have done any more to help us: she was consistently friendly and professional.On the day, the food was superb and the staff worked very hard and with a great sense of humour, especally Hailey. We thoroughly enjoyed staying in The Ribble View room overnight with its lovely balcony with panoramic views.It rained on our wedding day but 31 years later I managed to get the sunset photo on the balcony I'd always wanted!Thank you to Victoria and all the staff for looking after us so well and providing a perfect venue for a wedding!

I travel all over the world as you all know, and when in the uk I tend to stay in st annes at the glen-dower hotel Now normally it's fabulous as I'm a regular and stay a lot I always book a seaview room twin or king superior I call them direct or use a company online like booking .com Ok so imagine my upset when I called to book and was told to book online by a young receptionist I said I stay a lot and she said you need to book online we're full So I went on and booked and put in the comments it was me And asked for the normal Room if it was free or 1 near the lift as hubby has walking difficulties .... Then I called the hotel direct after I booked said I had booked and told the same girl my requirements if possible And said any twin or seaview near lift please .... Ok so I fly to the uk Drive 5 hours to the hotel from London and get there tired just want to take a shower and rest Well the lady on reception told me the rooms not ready yet ok I said could I pay for early check in I was told no.... Ok.... I asked for the manager and she came out said hello and I explained she said ok.... we have only one seaview left you're one and it's on the second floor up 2 flights of stairs and not near the lift ... and not a seaview really just part so I said has everyone else checked in she said no I said well I booked a superior/ executive seaview twin/double my normal room and I was told no it's taken I said could you not move anyone please as you no I stay a lot and I always take that or near to that room she was very rude and said no I asked why and she said we're full so after half hour of standing there getting nowhere I had to leave as the room I had booked £379 for 2'days was not free.... well I was not happy I went on there site and seen there was seaview rooms available for that night I tried to call them but they continually were engaged for 4 hours or so I used a friends phone and it rang right away I checked and they must have blocked my number or something as it was still engaged time on mine as I was ringing them from a friends phone ! I got through asked for the manager and a guy came on He said he was sorry the room got passed to disabled guests I said my husband is disabled and we always have that or near to that room I explained I had asked and he He apologised and said there is nothing I can do..... I am 100% upset and so let down by this hotel I give credit we're credit is due but the way I was treated was beyond belief and I am very unhappy about this I send a lot of people to this and other hotels with my reviews and I am upset that I was treated in this way I eventually got another hotel aT double the price and I feel the glendower should offer to rectify this situation as it is very very unprofessional of them and especially to guests who stay a lot Just wanted to make everyone of you aware Make sure you know what you're getting at this hotel as if they can treat me like this they can anyone I am disgusted by the manager lady with the blond hair on the front desk I thought she was nice but no she was nasty and very rude Did not want to help in anyway- she even told me they no longer have twin bed rooms??? I went upstairs and them rooms were all empty getting ready for check inn? Why she could not have moved us for the 2 days is beyond me?? That's the room I booked No one else had yet checked in to it .... Well why? I do not know

We stayed here for 1 night during the Lytham festival - we upgraded to a executive sea view room and it did not disappoint - beautiful room, lovely beds, clean, big and a great view of the beach - The best thing about this hotel are the staff, so friendly and helpful - they really made our stay special from the reception, to the restaurant to the night bar staff - all of them were really lovely and welcoming. Thank you for a wonderful stay at the seaside, we will definitely be back and we will bring the dog next time! I would recommend this hotel to anyone.

We had our wedding here on Friday 4th August. The hotel is lovely and the rooms were excellent. Breakfast was absolutely amazing and catered for all needs! Our Wedding itself was a very special day. The staff catered to our every need. They worked so very hard to please us all. The Georgian suite looked fantastic, beautifully decorated. Sophie our wedding co ordinater did an excellent job as did all the staff who were very attentive. Food was excellent, service 5 star. I would highly recommend this hotel. Mr and Mrs Roffey. x

family room clean newly appointed rooms, plenty of towels, comfy beds, and facilities in room - only minus 2 flights of stairs to room , glad i just had hand luggage , didn't have breakfast or use any other hotel facilities.

Fabulous hotel. Clean, luxurious welcoming and homely. Should be 4 star! Waiting and bar staff were outstanding. Can't recommend highly enough . Staff dealt with an incredibly rude and very difficult guest who was upsetting others with such professionalism .. well done!

We stayed on Friday night they was 4 of us in the party good check in,rooms very clean and smart this was our 4 visit and we have seen the care that has gone into the hotel over last few years.We had breakfast on Saturday morning can't fault it 3 of us had full English 1 had the salmon ,check out was pleasant the lady very pleasant thank you for our stay :)

Stayed overnight last minute and they could only offer a single room for us both with single bed but still charged £90.00 No personal touch here didnt ask if we enjoyed our stay or if we slept ok in the single bed ..which was very uncomfortable and noise all night long from an extractor outside our large window which was frosted so no view Savung grace was breakfast which was very good and wide variety Staff at breakfast very nice and very quick service ..good lay out..if asked when leaving if all was ok i would have said but no interest really would not stay again

Stayed 2 nights here as we were watching Olly Murs. Originally were staying in Blackpool but switched hotels to be closer. Check in was easy and trouble free, friendly staff and no issues. Our room, number 118 was nicely decorated and clean. There was no view whatsoever as it looked out onto a flat roof and another part of the hotel. This wasn't a great issue though. The room was a standard double so I suspect the better rooms have better views which is reasonable. However, there was building work directly outside the window and there was no warning about this, with the builders being directly outside we had the curtains closed throughout, no view so not an issue but would be nice to be warned. We only had breakfast to eat at the hotel and there is no complaints , very good range of options and decent enough food. Hash browns and sausages could have been marginally better but I'm being picky really. All in all a good enough hotel and one I'd stay at again in the event I come back to the area. Some small improvements and I can see it getting 4 stars instead of 3, certainly lyrics the downstairs areas are all really nice and our room was nicely decorated.

On this occasion we stayed at the hotel as a family. Upon arrival the staff were polite, attentive and our room was set up for our arrival later in the evening for the children to be put straight to bed. The room was beautiful. Decorated lovely and felt modern, contemporary and extremely clean. We had a view looking out over the beach and the bed was huge and really comfortable. An excellent nights sleep! The following morning we went down to Coast the restaurant where again we were greeted by lovely staff. The breakfast was lovely. A Buffett selection of cereals and pastries amongst other things and a menu to order hot food. There was plenty for the children to choose and nice coffee. Location wise it's perfect a stroll away from St Annes and very close to Lytham town centre also. Thoroughly recommend for families, couples and business travellers.

A wonderful hotel with lovely staff; we'll definitely be back - thank you. We had a great stay and so did our Chocolate Labrador! What a great hotel in a fantastic location - this was just the getaway we needed. Very well furnished rooms and incredibly attentive staff and a super breakfast.

Booked a single night stay in a "Superior De Luxe Double" room Arrival - Check exact location before travelling. I used Sat Nav (blindly) provided by hotel website. Although it was obvious it was taking me up a narrow alley at the back of the hotel, I assumed (wrongly) there was a second car park..... There wasn't! no big deal though. Parking bays at the front when the hotel is busy busy are a bit tight. Check in - Simple and painless The room - (106) Very large Bay Window which gave unobstructed view over the sea. Large and very comfortable bed, plenty of storage space, Vanity mirror, hair dryer, Bath robes and slippers. Small fridge (with bottled water in (Ideal for a couple of bottles of fizzy stuff. TV (free view) remote didnt work, reception changed batteries but that was not succesful (we were only there one night so it was only an inconvenience. Bathroom (ensuite) a little small but fully functional with over the bath shower. Towels and usual hotel soap and shower gels Dining and Bar. We only had a couple of drinks but bar seemed well stocked. We decided not to go for evening meal but menu seemed short. Breakfast very good standard, cooked to order plus all usual choices Facilities - Games room not used, Gym not used Our visit coincided with a wedding. This had no impact on our stay, but as a criticism, it should be noted large parties tended to gather outside main entrance to smoke (as there are a few outside seats and tables there) as no smoking facilities are provided, this is the only area available. Although the hotel staff swept up the dog ends first thing it did create an unsightly mess. Overall - We thoroughly enjoyed our short stay, it was relatively peaceful and comfortable. Hoping to stay again in the not to distant future Note -'There are some renovations going on but no inconvenience (possibly it being due to a weekend so no woek happening)

Back from our 6th stay,. The hotel has been updated over the last few years and cannot be faulted. We usually stay in a family room with lovely sea view. Hotel is clean, friendly and welcoming. Staff cannot do enough to help and the food is lovely. We will be back later in the year.

Just a quick visit to this beautiful place, everyone at this place is really friendly and helpful Dominic the bar manager is an asset. The star of the show is Chloe Pixton who dealt with us on a truly personal level in a really busy hotel great short stay. We will be back soon

My wife and friend visited here for afternoon tea on 25/07/17. The room and atmosphere were superb. Food was excellent, the waiter, Tom, was attentive and a credit to the hotel. We have stayed and had many functions at this impressive hotel, and have always been highly satisfied. Long may it continue.

We stayed at this beautiful hotel . With family we usually go to another hotel in lytham st Anne's. But was fully booked was a bonus for us . The hotel has been completely refurbished and is amazing the staff are first class and can't do enough for you. The breakfast is perfect and the evening meal first class. Looking forward to going July 30th for our wedding Anniversary. Definitely more than 3 star hotel

We selected the afternoon tea for a funeral tea for 60 people, with the addition of some chips to the standard menu. It came with sandwiches - 4 flavours, which were served on lovely fresh bread with lots of filling, and selection of little desserts and scones. All the scones unfortunately came ready assembled with jam and cream, which wasn't to everyone's taste - so if you have any dietary needs in a larger party be sure to mention that. Coffee and tea were available throughout too. The function room was nicely presented - with fresh white table linen and jugs of fresh iced water. Some personal items - photo albums and photo frames, were also arranged beautifully on tables as mourners entered the room. We did have a couple of problems, which were dealt with professionally and with curtesy when brought to the hotels attention. (Only thing holding back on a 5* rating) Overall the hotel provided a dignified location for a funeral tea which was fresh and tastey. I would recommend it to others. My kids never believe people read my reviews, so if this was helpful I would appreciate your helpful vote. It's all ways nice to prove them wrong accasionally.

On the plus side, the reception ladies are lovely and helpful. Some of the waiters, Damien, Jim and Vincent are a credit to the hotel. Some of the dinner meals were excellent. To improve, no towel hooks in the bathroom, the breakfast service was poor (3 attempts to cook a poached egg and the haddock was so small I needed glasses to see it!), some dinner meals were disappointing and some of the staff are not suited to serving the public, particularly the dining room shift leader and the bar lady. Despite this, we would go again as the hotel is nice and gets more right than wrong.

My wife and I have just driven back from Spain where we have lived for 11 years . We will be spending a couple of months in England and have a number of celebrations during July, one of which is our 30th wedding anniversary. We had to visit the Glendower hotel as this was where our wedding reception was held 30 years ago. Although the hotel has changed a lot the staff were as friendly as ever. We had an excellent Sunday lunch in the Coast brasserie with our parents. Both waiters were extremely friendly and even brought us all a glass of sparkling wine on the house to say "Happy anniversary " which we thought was a lovely gesture. We had a peep in the ballroom where our reception was held. Brought back lots of lovely memories. Would highly recommend and will visit again. Thank you

Looking for some where to eat in this area I put a question into my sat nav. This place came up and we had a lovely meal and I would recommend a visit. We had a three course meal each and although not cheap I have paid more for not such a good meal and very attentive service. The attention to detail was superb and the friendly staff in the bar and the restaurant was delightful ,so easy going but professional at the same time.

Booked a seven night stay for my Wife and myself recently. We were given a warm welcome on arrival and were delighted with our room (107) which has obviously been very tastefully refurbished recently. Everything here is first class,all the staff were excellent without exception. I must make special mention however of Hannah T who was magnificent when unfortunately my wife felt ill and we were forced to cut short our stay. Hannah was extremely helpful and helped us to cope with a difficult situation. I am sure Hannah will be pleased to learn that my Wife is fine now. We will certainly be returning to the Glendower in the future.

We booked a dog friendly room with our little pooch Kiera, a Chorkie, Yorkie and Chichuahua cross and we couldn't have received a warmer welcome by Hailey and staff who obviously like dogs. What a lovely surprise to find a letter of greeting to Kiera which read "Dear Four legged friend, thank you so much for visiting us today at the Best Western Glendower Hotel. I really hope you will enjoy your visit and that your bedroom 112 is comfortable. I am really looking forward to meeting you during your stay. Our Chef has written you a special menu for tonight, so whatever you whenever you would like your dinner, please let our reception team know and we can bring this for you:- Local Sausages, Dog Treats, fresh water. Our chefs recommendation is to have all 3 items, the choice is yours. Lytham St Anne's has a lovely beach for you to run around and you can:- Chase the birds and ducks, meet lots of other dog friends or play on the lovely beach infront of the hotel. Enjoy your stay and sleep well, we look forward to meeting you. What a great touch this was. Also in the room was a water bowl containing fresh water and a bowl of doggie treats - perfect. The evening meal was delicious and so was the Vegetarian breakfast. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff her at the Glendower hotel and we'd certainly stay again - Kiera's already planning her next visit.....

Just had a one night stay with elderly parents , ourselves and our daughter , also one dog . Dog friendly room available and was fine , although 2nd floor . We didn't see a dog blanket or letter but all over are dog water bowls . Everyone very friendly and lovely. Vincent was great and the young man who served our dinner on Saturday evening too ( sorry can't recall a name). Only problem was we had to eat in the lounge as we had a dog and as the wedding party around us grew the noise did too . However we were made welcome and Saturday is wedding day ! We booked over the phone directly but weren't made aware of any offers of discount or perks although it was on a board next to reception . When I asked reception she didn't do anything about it . All in all very nice stay though and food very good . If you have a dog be aware that you are restricted to certain areas .

Just had a 2 night family stay here. The hotel overall is fine and is probably better than I expected for the price we paid. The location is outstanding, at the quiet end of the North Promenade straight across from a super beach. The rooms are a bit tired and it's a long time since I have slept in such a small double bed, but the staff - from start to finish - were absolutely excellent. Polite, cheery, helpful, pleasant, nothing too much trouble and everything delivered with a smile. If only every other service business worked like these guys do, the world would be a much better place!! Didn't have dinner there, but the breakfast was excellent. Would definitely recommend.

Just back from a wonderful family wedding weekend, a fab occasion, made all the more special by this super hotel and friendly staff. Food great, staff warm and helpful, especially Hayley and Jim. We've had better service and room than some 5* hotels abroad. This hotel is a gem, we will be back! Thanks folks!! Ruth & Paul Watson

Family birthday party. Some of those attending the party stayed in the hotel and said what a great place it was to stay. They were extremely complementary about the food and service. The party went without a hitch and we are grateful to Sophie for the arrangements and David looked after us so well on the night all present asked us to send him their complements. The party meal was of a high standard and value for money. We have eaten in the Glendower on a number of occasions and always enjoyed our meal. What makes it a pleasure though is that all of the staff go out of their way not just to serve but to show caring. Very few places do this. Thank you to all at the Glendower.

The hotel is in a great location and our room was amazing with a sea view and a lovely comfy bed. The hotel are striving to ensure that every guest leaves having had a great experience and this is reflected in the customer service. We were greeted by a friendly reception team and this followed through into the restaurant staff and the housekeeping team. I was most impressed by the response to an expression of dissatisfaction. The evening meal that we had was not the best and breakfast the next morning was disappointing. Breakfast on the 2nd day was even worse so we decided to mention this to the restaurant team. Rather than brush it under the rug as most hospitality establishments do these days, I was listened to and my concerns were taken seriously. I was asked what needed to change and was assured that this would be put right the next day. The next morning we were greeted with friendly faces, friendly banter and no animosity - and the breakfast was amazing. Special credit needs to go to Hailey who dealt with the situation in the most professional, yet friendly way. She appears at ease with all guests, from the elderly who visit every year to occasional golfers and couples on short breaks. A credit to the hotel.

Booked this hotel for my wife's birthday .We had 18 guests all stayed at the Glendower Everyone enjoyed the stay ,the rooms were excellent and the breakfast and dinner top class All the staff were very helpful nothing was too much trouble a special thank you to Chloe who organised our stay and arranged for surprise flowers and fizz in our room Well done to everyone and thank you for a great weekend Not one complaint from 18 guests of all ages!

Just returned from 3 night stay at this hotel. It's a beautiful hotel on the coast at St.Annes on sea. Our hotel room was luxurious and sea facing. Food was excellent and the staff very friendly. My husband and I would like to say a big thank you to you all. Our room was upgraded because my daughter had told the staff that the 3 day break was a present for our recent golden wedding. This was our second stay at this hotel and standards are superb.

56 of us stayed here for a church weekend. Hotel was top class and staff all very friendly and helpful, including rearranging furniture on the two meeting rooms we used. There was a larger party in their big suite on the Friday that was playing live music until about 1 am which was hard for those in some of the first floor rooms. I suppose that couldn't be helped, and overall it didn't spoil a great stay in a great location. The hotel is on a few main bus routes and the Blackpool tram terminus is only a mile or so away. However, St Annes itself has lovely beaches including a large area for dogs. The town is generally dog-friendly (except for the pier) and has lots of nice pubs, bars and restaurants. Ashton Gardens is right by the centre, and has a very good café.

This hotel is a cut above the rest. I expected less, but got far more. We had a package deal that included 2 breakfasts, 2 evening meals and Sunday lunch, exclusive use of two smaller rooms and a wide range of bedrooms. My bedroom was an upgraded refurbished sea view room that was near perfect. Staff and general organisation was to notch. Well done! Only drawback is a car park that is inadequate for the size of the hotel.

I recently visited the Best Western Plus Glendower Hotel, and was delighted by the Hotel and the staff here. The Glendower Team were extremely welcoming with a real 'Customer Service' focus. The recent refurbishment is beautiful, with a hints of 'designer guild', tasteful but with eclectic touches everywhere, whilst maintaining an extremely comfortable and relaxed atmosphere. I arrived to plenty of easy parking, always a blessing, and found it to be extremely dog friendly, again a real plus! The newly refurbished dining room was delightfully inviting and comfortable in contemporary muted colours with lovely touches of teal. Breakfast & Dinner were both delicious. Fresh ingredients, beautifully presented and served with a smile every time. Bedrooms were very spacious, clean, warm and with a fantastic sea views. Throughout, I could not fault the staff from the welcome on arriving to the wave off when leaving, they were superb and nothing was too much trouble, every request was taken care of immediately and again, always with a smile. Their stunning main event room, the Georgian Suite, looked gorgeous set up for a Party, having decor touches one would normally have to hire in for events at extra cost, very impressive. Although a Best Western Plus 'partnership', it appears it is still a family owned hotel, and has that wonderful personal feel about it. I cannot wait to return and after seeing the 'Afternoon Tea' being served to other lucky visitors, I shall consider returning for this alone! Well done the Glendower Team, you are a joy and I shall happily return!

Stayed here for one night for business purposes and was merely here to sleep. My room was very small but very clean, and the decor was very fresh. Unfortunately there was a wedding on in the hotel and the walls let in lots of noise, but despite that the hotel was great and worth the money paid. If I am back in Lytham St Annes I will be back.

We've just returned from a short stay at this hotel, we were looking for somewhere who would accommodate us and our little dog Tash (she is a cockapoo) from our initial booking via the telephone to our final check out we could not have asked for more. On arrival in our lovely large and tasteful room with a view of the dunes and sea . Tash could not have been more welcomed, from a welcome letter, bed bowl of treats and water. The letter informed us that if we wished fresh cooked sausage would be delivered to her. All the staff were lovely with her and made her feel welcomed. As far as we were concerned, the food for both breakfast and dinner was excellent, and the room and bathing facilities were lovely. We will be going back for a return visit soon!

This was our second visit to this hotel which has been brought up to date and some work is still going on unobtrusively. Our room was on the 2nd floor with an amazing sea view. Mention is made later about stairs which gave us the opportunity to get some mild exercise. If you are not fully mobile try for a room on a lower floor. The staff in all sections were very helpful and pleasant to deal with and the food was also good. When we revisit the area this Best Western hotel will be our choice.

Very nice hotel, fab breakfasts and evening meal. Stayed in a family room which was spacious and quirky. Kids loved it. The lift is weird but adds to the nature of the hotel. Great location and views!! Didn't realise what a lovely place Lytham is

I left the noisy review on my first stay, however I have been back again since and as long as you ask to be in a quiet room ie on 2nd floor you get no noise!! But you do get a clean spacious and comfortable room, lovely staff who can't do enough for you, great food and a relaxing stay. I can also recommend the afternoon tea which has cakes to die for! We will definitely be back. Thanks for all your hard work making this a great place to be.

A lovely hotel in Lytham St Annes.Excellent location,with seaview.The room and other parts of the Hotel are being renovated to a high standard.In our room 101 the makeover had just been completed,whilst 102 was in progress. Not wanting to be picky but to offer advice we thought that there could have been an occasional table in the window to put cups,glasses ,papers etc on whilst enjoying the view.You need to stand on something to open the pushout windows ,the TV let down the room,it was tiny and looked like a postage stamp on the wall,a 40 inch would have been more appropriate.Food was good,plenty of choice.The staff were all friendly and polite.Overall an excellent stay.

We came to Lytham St Anne's for two nights with our two year old and picked the Glendower because of the great reviews and range of rooms available. You need space with a toddler and we definitely got it! We stayed in a deluxe family room which was absolutely stunning and made our stay perfect There was a beautiful huge window to look out on the sea and the bath in the main room meant my two-year-old could watch TV whilst he was having a bath which I think completely made his holiday! Breakfast was good and the service was excellent from everyone we met Staff alll said hello and were friendly and professional. Nobody made us feel like having a toddler was a problem and we appreciated the flexibility of being able to leave our car in the car park for a couple of hours on our last day so we could stay on the beach a bit longer. We thought the quality of the accommodation was amazing and very good value for money. Thank you very much we will definitely be coming back.

I dont normally leave a review but feel I should... We have just returned home after a two night stay at Glendower with our 6 year old son and 2 year old daughter & booked a standard family room. The room was perfect and of a much higher standard than we expected, extremely spacious, lovely decor & very clean. Our children loved that they had their own bedroom but could still see & hear us with their bedroom door open. The hotel itself is in a perfect place as on the promenade, therefore we only had to cross the road to get to the beach and just a short walk away to the town (or the bus stop if you want to venture into Blackpool). Originally we didn't book our meals in the hotel as we were unsure where we would be, however, we ended up back at the hotel for the first evening meal. The food was perfect! Two courses for £20! I thought that the food would be average due to the price... how wrong I was! Our food was amazing & of high standard. On the second night the kids were tired & we ordered room service, again beautiful food! The breakfast was delicious and caters for everyone. We met a couple durung our evening meal & they told us that it was their ninth visit to the hotel and I'm not surprised as it is hard to imagine anywhere better. Every single member of staff we met were helpful, friendly & considerate of our children. We cannot recommend this hotel highly enough and will definitely be returning in the summer. We've already recommended it to friends and we've only been home a few hours!

Highly recommended. We cannot praise the staff and management enough for making our wedding day so special. With 100+ guests to look after nothing was too much trouble for them and they were extremely organised and very professional. I would especially like to mention Hayley who did a fantastic job keeping the bride calm and guiding us through our day with a big smile. The honeymoon suite was lovely. A great time had by all.

Just been to a wedding here and really couldn't have gone better.Warm friendly staff,great service and delicious food.Our room was immaculate and with super comfy beds!With over 100 guests the service was still great and a really lovely atmosphere

Went for afternoon tea. Very impressed from stepping 7 side the door. The hotel is well maintained and spotlessly clean. The staff were very welcoming and the whole place had a relaxed welcoming feel. The food was well presented and very tasty. We will definitely be back.

I have stayed at the Glendower several times in the past but not recently. The restaurant, in particular, has had a considerable upgrade from my last visit and I liked the feel of it. The staff were also very welcoming and helpful. My room, while a small single, was in immaculate condition and had all the facilities I needed. When I checked out there was a heavy frost outside but I left feeling satisfied with my short stay. Thank you.

All the staff were very professional and helpful. Although my room was small it was perfectly adequate and spotlessly clean. The breakfast was very good. I liked it that you could order exactly what you wanted so cutting out waste. My only thing to mention that this is an old hotel and there can be quite a few steps to your bedroom as the lift only goes so far. The hotel does warn you of this but forgets to mention it can be up and down stairs to arrive at your room not so good carrying a case.

My wife and I have just returned from an excellent weekend stay at the Best Western Glendower Hotel. We were members of a church weekend at this hotel consisting of about 100 people, including children. We were welcomed on Friday afternoon by a helpful and courteous reception team. We were given a lovely twin bedded room, overlooking the sea. the room was large and contained a double and a single bed. It was immaculately furnished with beautiful en-. suite facilities. Tea and coffee making provision, television, radio and hair drier. The restaurant was spacious and the food was of a very high standard. the restaurant staff were helpful, kind , courteous and very efficient. The public rooms in the hotel were beautifully furnished and Christmas decorations were in place. Although I did not visit the gym I understand that it met very high standards, and although the hotel does not have its own swimming pool access to the adjoining YMCA pool was available for those wishing to use the pool at no extra cost. A lovely hotel, absolutely spotlessly clean, where no extra requests were beyond help from the staff. I recommend this hotel without any misgivings whatsoever after a wonderful weekend stay.

We had another wonderful night at the Glendower. Such a lovely hotel. The room was amazing and the staff are so attentive and friendly and we felt looked after from the moment we stepped in the door. We took advantage of the offer for Sunday lunch and to keep the room longer and it was a great deal and lovely roast lunch again made so nice by the attentive staff and also the wonderful pianist in the bar. Nothing was too much trouble. Thank you for a lovely stay and we've booked again for next year.

A party of 10 booked 5 rooms for a 2 night stay at the end of October 2016. The rooms were very clean and had really comfortable beds. All staff are so friendly and nothing is too much trouble for them. I've never stayed anywhere where the staff have been so tuned in and efficient The food was brilliant including the evening meals 10/10

Just spent a night at the Best Western, it's changed a lot since our last visit (15 years ago) it's actually very classy now. All was really nice, staff were so friendly, our room was small but we knew that and it was spotlessly clean, great location too right on the beach/dunes.

We ended up in this hotel after our original hotel had been double booked. Clean, well decorated and very friendly, a little pricey at the bar but we would certainly return again maybe with our four legged friend next time.

Really nice seafront hotel. Excellent staff. The breakfasts and evening meal we had were excellent. Great hotel for Illuminations break. The room appeared to have been recently refurbed and was to a good standard ( Not sea view unfortunately but we had paid with Tesco clubcard so couldn't complain!) A really excellent relaxing stay and we would go back.

Had a great stay here for a couple of nights in a family room, great that the kids had their own separate room within ours. The room was massive with a seating area too, view not great but we didn't spend much time in there! Room was clean but a little dated in decor. Breakfast was fab, great to have a la carte! Will definitely be back!

We have just stayed at this hotel over the weekend and had an excellent time. We had our dog with us and the hotel is very dog friendly. Its the small things that count like the letter in our room welcoming our dog and the treats in the dog bowl and sausage waiting to be collected for her. We only booked a compact double room as it was the only room left at booking, but I was surprised at how lovely the room was and sufficient for our needs. We arrived at the hotel late on Friday evening and odered room service ( 2 burgers) which were really good. Breakfast in the coastal restaurant on saturday morning was very busy, chaotic and noisy and the staff could barely cope with the volume of guests at breakfast but the staff kept on smiling and did their very best to keep the customer service going. I wasn't looking forward to going for breakfast this morning (sunday) but breakfast had been moved to the ballroom which was much better. A totally different experience to the saturday so well done for that. The food on both days at breakfast was very good and there was plenty of choice. Some of the paintwork on the corridors and in the rooms is starting to chip but that is something that won't take long to rectify by maintenance. We all had a great weekend and will definitely stay here again on our next visit to St Anne's. Thank you to all of the staff for making our stay great. Wish we could have stayed longer.

The Glendower Hotel is a great hotel for a relaxing break. It's strong point were the staff who were helpful, accommodating and friendly. The food in the restaurant was surprisingly good and reasonably priced. Great views over the seafront too.

One word "Fantastic". Our friends married on 22.10.16, and we booked in on Friday. The staff are really friendly and helpful, We were in room 102 with sea views a lovely clean room with shower and toiletries supplied, with kettle with coffee & tea & milk provided. Walking distance to the town centre and places to eat. The wedding room was dressed lovely and again the waiting on staff were so helpful, food was great and of good proportions. Easy travel into BLACKPOOL and value for money late check out with Sunday Lunch. So finally would like to say a big thank you to all the staff and especially Hayley,Sophie,Damian & Vincent whom are so friendly and a credit to the Glendower Hotel. Hopefully would love to return soon..... Simon & Gemma x

On arrival we where told that all twin rooms had been booked so we would be offered either a double or two doubles. I do think that the hotel should have communicated this to us when we booked a twin room, Being asked whether we would happily sleep together I felt no need to explain why we asked for twins and simply said we would use one double room. We arrived quite late and did phone the hotel at least a week before arrival to check this was ok and again at that point why not explain the room situation. On a positive note a young lady explained that in 5 mins our meals will end but I will go and get you a menu now and set you a table in the bar area, she gave us excellent customer service and the meal was well presented and hot. We then went to our room which was on the 2nd floor and although there was a lift it would not be ideal for those with walking disabilities, The room although small was beautifully clean and well furnished. I would however critique the position of the hairdryer which cannot be moved and is placed with no mirror available to use. The double bed only has plugpoints on oneside of the bed which is not useful for two users. One other point is that the door is very heavy and cannot be closed quietly so it makes you concerned about disturbing others. More positive is the fact that you do have an area at the front of the hotel to sit and smoke if you should need. We went down to breakfast and where asked our room number and the table was pointed out to us ( feel you should be taken to table ) the reason I say this is that you had no idea how it all worked and you just sat waiting for someone to come and ask what food you wanted and we then had to ask where or how do we get coffee or tea as this was through an alcove with no signage and no one explaining anything unless you asked. Breakfast was not good as it was not hot in fact luke warm and seemed to have been standing awhile, I returned the food and was told that because so many people had come in mine had probably been forgotten and they where sorry for this and then brought me a hot breakfast. The guy serving was very apologetic and obtained a tray for us to take our coffee outside. I hoped this would be the end but the next breakfast I asked for poached eggs on toast and sadly no again my eggs where not hot and the toast was a damp piece of bread, We then noticed that some people where served before others that had been there first and it all seemed as if the staff where just rushing about with no clear direction, No one bothered to check the continental breakfast area at all and indeed we had to ask for bowls and then noticed the milk all gone and 3 staff passing by but did not bother to check. So we headed out for a long day in blackpool and returned at around 10pm very tired and going to our room found we had been locked out and this is a little bit of a trek to reception however we went down and she told us we had only been booked in that room for one night goodness knows why as our booking was two nights but all good we got in the room and then cam down to the bar and returned to the room after midnight only to find it locked again and this was just a bit annoying now but my partner duly went down and once again we gained entry to the room. All of this said I found that most of the staff helpful and some exceeding expectations and the hotel even with a wedding reception going on to be a quiet retreat and spotlessly clean and if in the area again I would not hesitate to stay.

Just returned from the glendower hotel st Anne's after our daughters and now son in laws wedding. What a fantastic weekend the hotel and all the staff there were amazing nothing was to much trouble for them they even provided a bottle of warm milk for our granddaughter in the evening. Their attention to detail for the wedding reception was excellent there were lots of lovely little touches like napkins folded into roses and tuxedo,s and wine glasses in the bride and grooms initials a truly wonderful day made all the more special by the wonderful staff well done team glendower. Highly recommended no matter how short or long your stay we will definitely be back.

We booked in here for a Monday night. There was three of us so we booked a family room and on arrival we got an upgrade to a suite. The room has a main room with a king size bed, sofa, tv and shower room. The other room had twin beds and a seperate bathroom. The room was very clean and I liked the bowl of fruit in the room, a nice touch. The room has a balcony overlooking the sea which was nice. The operations manager was very friendly and welcoming and made sure we were settled in. Had a meal in the hotel restaurant which was very well cooked and presented as well as the breakfast in the morning which was fresh and cooked to order. Will definately stay here again.

This hotel was the nicest Best Western Hotel we have stayed in. Everything about it would be hard .to better. The staff were all polite and helpful. The rooms were beautifully decorated and all very clean and the food very good and varied.

This hotel was in the middle of refurbishment when I stayed . it did mean some areas where off bounds but hotel its self is well situated and close to the beach. Staff where great and rooms where very clean. Foe a mini break this was ideal.

Booked in for an over night stay on the way back from the Lake District - not always easy to find a lovely hotel that will allow dogs ( well behaved) and elderly mother with mobility issues. Reception staff could not have been more helpful in making us all (and our fur baby ) feel welcome and at home - a lovely touch to have a letter to our dog waiting in the room with a complimentary evening meal suggestion of sausages and doggie treats ( which where very happily received !) Great views from the superior rooms and great to find a class hotel that takes care of all of its customers including the 4 legged variety. Lovely staff, great location and fabulous superior rooms- couldn't have asked for more.

Spent a night at Glendower in mid October to see the Blackpool Illuminations . This Hotel is everything Blackpool isn't i.e. top quality and quiet . It's not cheap and it's not up there with 4 star hotels I've stayed at so 3 star is a fair rating. Staff are friendly and helpful. Parking is plentiful , there is even a PHEV charging point. I paid top dollar for this but the room was at the back and little dark due to the small window which overlooked the bins and the staff smoking area. I say overlooking but the glass is frosted so you can only actually see the bins if you open the top window. Had I had a room overlooking the sea ,it would have got and excellent rating rather than very good. Perfectly located far enough away from Blackpool about 4.5 miles from the Tower and 2 miles from the tram. Lytham town is about two miles or so away and is really good if like me you are over 50 and don't really like the night life and rowdy people . Even the charity shops are posh in Lythham ! Back to the Hotel not cheap but very good would be excellent if you drop on a room at the front with a sea view . Breakfast was good , at £12 each it should be really. I would differently go again and recommend it to anyone. One thing to remember it was a converted girls school and not a purpose built hotel , corridors up stairs are quite narrow and a bit maze like , oh and there are stairs in abundance . Not really suitable if you struggle climbing stairs . There is a lift but didn't quiet reach our room !

As we have a small dog we searched "dog friendly hotels in Lytham" and the Glendower came up. So we booked and we are so glad we did. We got the balcony suite which has amazing views over the coast, we understand the hotel has had a recent refurb and the room has a very upmarket contemporary feel to it, certainly worthy of a 4 star grading. Room facilities as expected and the room is well furnished. The only downside and we find this often with hotels that do not have air con is the room became hot and stuffy during the night - though opening the balcony helped. Breakfast was fresh and a big shout out goes to Vincent who set our breakfast up in the lounge area and brought some very welcome sausages for our dog which were devoured in seconds! We often find breakfast staff in hotels to be tired and going through the motions but Vincent couldn't have been more helpful and genuinely willing to make sure we had a great breakfast - as always it's the staff that make a hotel.

This was our first time at this hotel and it certainly won't be the last. We had such a warm welcome from Reception staff and this was carried through every area - so friendly and eager to please. Restaurant had obviously been updated and is now very modern and pleasing to the eye. Both breakfast and evening meals delicious, the latter beautifully presented. Lovely large bedroom en suite overlooking the sea. We would make mention of the over loud music being played in the public lounges/restaurant which was annoying when trying to either read or hold a conversation. Within the lounge areas there was an obvious need for more attention to the cleaning of ledges and, in particular, the tops of large coffee tables which were more often than not sticky.

Great food, great ambience and very helpful and friendly staff. Was helped by Bridget the head house keeper who arranged a doggy bag for us as we had surplus cakes we wanted to take home. Would recommend Glendower to the most fastidius of customers. Well done!!

A lovely hotel with great roomy bedroom and fabulous modern en-suite (Room 108) Staff really professional and friendly/helpful Evening meal delicious and great presentation...added bonus....live piano music...just spot on for my taste. Breakfast - wonderful choices and so well cooked and presented hot food. Again this whole area modern and spotless.... Congratulations to all the staff here.....you must work hard and I appreciate it. Would love to have stayed longer but you were fully booked.:(

On a recent holiday we decided to stop off on the way to see the Blackpool lights.. For a Best Weston Hotel on a sea front it was very good value and seem to be very pet friendly, the food was nice the service was good just could of done with a bit more cheerful staff on the front desk. The room was lovely well presented and furnished, warm and clean would happily stay longer if they were able to sort the so called wet room / bath room that may suit some people with disablitys / mobility problems but the lack of grab rails '' only 2 '', tiled floor, lip in to the shower and ramp to the bath room may cause some problems, mainly the floor which became very slippy when wet. On review the hotel was great and the room but let down by the bathroom. O and parking for Disabled is very limited with small spaces.. Thank for a ok stay..

Great place to stay !! Comfy clean- quality furnishings and friendly staff. Dining area very impressive the breakfast was absoulutely brilliant. Terrific choice better than any i can think of.... good quality food -piping hot and as little or as much as you wanted very very nice ??. Evening meal was maybe a little pricey at £15 for one main course however all edible beautifully cooked and served.no complaints at all.

Lovely location the view from the hotel is lovely. Its a few minutes walk to the town you have shops restaurants, bars etc. It is an ideal place if you are just wanting a relaxing holiday with a bit of peace and quiet. The hotel is lovely very clean, staff are polite and helpful. The only thing I would say is make sure you upgrade your room if possible as the room we stayed in was rather small and warm. We only had a small fan to cool us down no air conditioning. and you can open the window slightly. All in all I would recommend to anyone.

We stayed at The Glendower at the end of September 2016. The hotel is well positioned near the centre of St Annes and close to bus routes for Lytham, Blackpool etc. The staff were extremely kind and helpful (even putting a birthday card in the room for my wife's birthday). My wife became ill during our stay - nothing to do with the hotel though - and we had to leave a day early. But upon checking out we weren't charged for the extra day. I would highly recommend the Glendower and will be returning ourselves.

From the moment we arrived felt like home. Reception was perfect. Then we got to our up graded room courtesy of the lovely reservation staff because of my birthday request. When we arrived there was a birthday card for my partner and a welcome note for my dog as well as food and water. Also when we got room service they also brought extra sausages for the dog. Not to mention the beautiful sea view. I am coming back to this hotel so is Bruno my dog he loves it here.:-)

We stayed one night at this hotel and one was enough. We were given a small room as the hotel was full. The view from 120 was non existent, but the real issue was the smell ! The bathroom and consequently the bedroom smelled like cat urine. There were clearly plumbing issues. We suffered it as we were only sleeping there a night. We were give a £40 rebate as a result.

We have stayed here several times now. I am pleased to report that the hard work that Victoria and her team have put into the hotel in 2016 is really paying off. We were booked into the Ribble Suite - this is a fantastic family room with a sea view and a balcony with rattan furniture. The suite is tastefully decorated and nicely furnished. The bed is very comfortable. Staff in the hotel seem more attentive than heretofore - nothing is too much trouble. Breakfast remains excellent, with the new addition of a bean-to-cup coffee machine for excellent fresh coffee. All in all - highly recommended. Five stars

Four of us stopped at this hotel for a birthday celebration in Lytham. We where given our rooms 45 mins early than check in time. All the staff couldn't have been more helpful. Booking us taxis, giving us directions etc. Great stay.

I have just come back from an amazing Hen weekend at this hotel. The staff were absolutely brilliant with all of us (22 in total) so helpful and happy. The Hotel is just gorgeous and the sea view room with the bath in is absolutely stunning. The breakfast was amazing and brought us all round. Thank you !

We rang the Glendower hotel to arrange a room for a few days and to ask if we could bring our little dog with us. Not expecting the best room in the hotel because of out four legged family member we were more than surprised with out beautiful room. It was beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean with a marvellous view over the sea and the perfect touch was a letter written by Chloe Huckerby to our little dog welcoming her to the hotel and bowl filled with food a water bowl and a doggie blanket for her. Thank you so much we loved it. The king size bed was extremely comfortable and we all had a really good nights sleep and rest. We have been to this hotel before and we was not disappointed it was spotless very comfortable with lovely staff nothing was to much trouble. They arranged for us to have our meals in the lounge and laid a table specially for us and our meals were excellent. We also had afternoon tea which I can highly recommend. Best Western should be extremely proud of this hotel and team running it. I would return at the very next chance we are able too.

Myself and my wife had our wedding reception here last month and the staff of the Glendower were absolutely amazing from start to finish. We would like to give a special mention, firstly to Sophie for being so approachable, Chloe for her advice and Hailey for ensuring the day went smoothly. We had many positive comments about both the meal and the buffet. Our room was amazing with a gorgeous sea front view and the breakfast was really tasty. The service we received was to a very high standard and everyone helped ensure our first day as a married couple was memorable and special. We highly recommend this hotel to everyone. Really relaxed ambience in this venue, staff were lovely but not too fussy .....made sure you had plenty of everything & then let you enjoy the experience. Good choice of sandwiches & super sweet treats ( nice touch of edible flowers as decoration) Will definitely be back to sample the Sunday lunch. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend..... Worth every penny! Enjoy.

Despite the small yet cozy room, can't fault the hotel and the staff. They're very helpful and friendly and even had a chat with us which is usually rare. Near all the attractions but with enough privacy from the kids. Only down side there was a wedding party which took over the main bar so we only say there one evening before they arrived. Deffo booking again next summer!

We have just returned from this hotel after attending a wedding and staying over for one night. I just wanted to comment on how nice and clean our room was. It was very modern and functional. All the staff there were very helpful throughout. The full English breakfast was very tasty but there was a good selection of other foods too. For anyone like me who's hairdryer is the most important thing to take on holiday...don't worry, there is one available in the room! Overall i would recommend this hotel. Top venue for a wedding too!!!!

We stayed at the hotel for 2 night, my first impression was it looked very grand and clean. I was disappointed in our room though it was very dated I was expecting one of the rooms that had been refurbished like you see on the photos. The beds was not comfortable either and the pillows were rock hard. We had a good view of the sea front, And the room was very clean. It was in lovely location would go to that area again.

We booked in to the Glendower last minute as an unforeseen overnight stay, we found the staff really helpful, the room was beautifully modernised with a great bathroom. The bed was so comfy providing a good nights sleep followed by a sumptuous breakfast which went down a treat having had a few too many drinks in the bar the night before! The hotel is immaculate throughout with high quality furnishings and smart, professional staff. I would highly recommend the Glendower to anybody and from now on it will always be our first port of call when visiting the Fylde coast.

I was here last weekend for the wedding of 2 very good friends, arriving Friday for a meal and overnight stay with the big day being the Saturday. The room I was in, fairhaven suite, was fantastic. Really comfortable, spacious and clean. Only 3 things to fault, 1 minor 2 larger. The minor fault- only 1 tv remote to share between 2 rooms, whilst the bigger ones were both with the bathroom - a) closing the door made so much noise it disturbed whoever was in the bed on the other side of this wall, and b) the head of the shower fell off whilst in use, luckily not causing to the person under it. Away from the bedroom, the food for both our meal on Friday night plus the lunch and buffet on the wedding day, along with the efficiency, friendliness and professionalism of the staff cannot be faulted at all. They were utterly superb and helped massively create a fantastic day. Well done to all, but please check those issues with the room...

Stayed one night as part of family of 7. Had twin room...good size, spotlessly clean and recently refurbished. Beds comfortable - pillow not great but still slept well. Service good; breakfast wide variety, fresh and tasty. Excellent location just short walk from pier and shopping area and directly across from the beach. Parking was good though we arrived early and car park was full later in the evening. Would definitely come again especially as it's dog friendly so will bring our dog next time.

Had a family function here recently and so glad we picked this hotel. Sophie and all of the waiting-on staff were very accommodating, polite and helpful. The room we hired for our function was decorated beautifully with white chair covers & diamantes scattered on the tables which we hadn't asked them to do but it was a lovely surprise and a very nice touch. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their Sunday lunch - the salmon especially was a big hit! Good sized portions. I would highly recommend The Glendower Hotel.

Stayed for 5 nights,room 130 , Location sea front, good parking facilities, close to train station, good bus service . Staff helpful and friendly all who we came across. Food was reasonably priced and excellent. Breakfast had lots of choices , good quality coffee and various teas.Lounge areas comfortable and clean , easy check in and out fast and efficient. Room, spacious and comfortable, good bed , good carpet , bath with shower over , adequate. Decor period but a bit tired . No view from this room,frosted windows,looked onto extracter vents which were noisy at times though turned off about 11pm . Wardrobe could do with an airfreshner as it smelt musty, but plenty of storage space ie chest of drawers about 12 drawers in all. This would have got 5 stars because it really is an excellent hotel,however your housekeeping for our room was below par,was not vacuumed for the 5 days we stayed,bathroom, water marks on chrome fittings,wall and floor tiles not cleaned properly, extractor fan full with dust as were cornice and picture rail,bin in bathroom not emptied for 4 days .This was the only disappointment to another wise perfect stay,This will not discourage us from visiting your hotel again as all these points are easily rectified. We would recommend it to anybody else ,as this may just have been an isolated case.

As a frequent visitor we arrived on Sunday the car park was full waited for 15 mins had a coffee the reception girl advised she would be finishing soon so we waited when we got to our room it was all tastefully done which was an improvement then I wanted a game of snooker tried the gym where it used to be tried several cards one of the staff helped me again and advised that the games room had been moved which I was disappointed with as its a lot smaller I know it's an alternative but a lot of people would have just come to the hotel for that option and the gym doesn't look any better for it in my opinion

Stayed for one night in a family room which was dark, dull and the decor very dated. View from bedroom window was of a back alley and bins. No lift up to the second floor so had to climb 4 flights of stairs with baggage. This was a let down considering we paid £102 for a nights stay with breakfast. On the bright side the staff were all very helpful and pleasant and the hotel is in a lovely spot on the front a short walk away from the pier. Cooked breakfast was very good but over priced at £11.

We had the most, wonderful afternoon tea here you have the choice of three different sandwiches and sconce jam and cream and the most super cakes servers on a plater If you are in this area viste here for afternoon tea the staff are all lovely

This hotel does not need you, and it cares not a fig for customer service. It demonstrates every reason why not going to a UK seaside resort is a good idea. It is beyond most staff to say good morning, or take any interest in your needs. I requested non alcoholic beer and was meet with mild indifference. Bed s were small, rooms smaller there has to be better value else where.

Lads golf trip to Lytham, we stayed in this hotel,very clean, staff are friendly and helpful, great breakfast ! Thanks to everyone, this is an ideal place right on the seafront, handy for Lytham , Blackpool and St Annes, worth a visit good value hotel.

Stayed many times when away on buisness and am glad to report positive improvements .there is an ongoing upgrade done tastefully adding a modern touch to the bedrooms while retaking the charm of the original building.staff remain first class,good breakfast and plenty of parking .all in all Glendower would be my choice for a stay in this area .

The staff were amazing ,very friendly, helpful and hard working . The food was outstanding well done glendower . The down side was our room I feel we were over priced for this as it was very small for 4 and old fashioned.Apart from this we had wonderful stay due mainly to the staff ( and the weather very lucky) thank you Angela

Just had my amazing wedding weekend at the GLENDOWER HOTEL. The staff are helpful and cannot do enough for you Sophie and Hayley are soooooo professional and always around to help. We couldn't have wished for anything else ******

We stayed overnight with our son and dog what a great place to stay a lovely location straight facing the beach our room was spacious with a lovely sea view and spotless .our doggie had treats in the room and a bowl of water we were very impressed with the staff and especially Hayley the manager who our teenage boy took a shine too .very professional friendly and nothing was to much trouble we had a meal in the hotel which was very nice couldn't fault this hotel highly recommend especially for being dog friendly as we had our first break away with milo our dog and we didn't no what to expect definitely will return with or without the dog just brilliant .

a nice hotel with helpful staff,smart rooms and a great location,they also let you take the dog,we had a lovely short break. the location was great ,not far from blackpool and close to st annes a lovely victorion little town .

I stayed for a week and had great weather which allows me to comment on the location - straight out of the front door and onto the beach! I stayed at the rear of the hotel i.e. non-beach facing. I'm led to believe the hotel has had a recent refurbishment, a disappointment in this day and age that there is little in the way of sound proofing between rooms and importantly to the houses behind the hotel who insisted on banging about with building work at odd times. This is not to detract from the room standard which for a three star hotel was good. My favourite hotel area? the lounges! A very relaxed and comfortable place to be. There were three wedding parties during my stay and the evening reception music can't be ignored, however wasn't on to the early hours so was well managed, just something to be aware of as it appears to be a popular venue for functions. Car parking was very good! An important point in the holiday season-something for fellow travellers to be aware of in this town! Lastly the staff - reception were first rate, welcoming and friendly. One of the bar staff was similar and the other a polar opposite! In the end I avoided the bar when he was on - very miserable, not at all what you want on a leisure break. In the main I was dressed in beach wear, so forgive my daily appearance, whilst not scruffy I admit I was a touch casual. But strangely felt judged by some employees as a result, who noticeably spoke with other guests but ignored me which is a shame and I feel some work needed as a result. For the evenings I ( dressed smartly ) went out to eat for all my meals. Again this is a shame as I generally like to support the hotel I stay at and get to know the staff. I observed some the staff being very attentive to elderly residents however 'share the love' and let us all feel great! I'd go so far as to say this which was odd - "Do you have any bar snacks ?" "No!" ( I was standing next to a sign saying bar snacks available lol! Second barman another occasion "I can fetch you a bowl of crisps" "How lovely thanks" They never came AND he gave a bowl to an old lady standing right in front of me!! Lol. Share the love Glendower! A minor point as its worth reiterating some points for information: 1 - sound proofing between rooms and if you're staying to the rear of the hotel. 2 - parking and location excellent. 3 - lounge areas truly relaxing Thanks for a nice stay perhaps a bit of work to make ALL your guests feel right at home and I'd happily score you higher. Overall a nice hotel, the above are minor points as I would recommend a stay here.

A nice reasonably priced hotel situated in a lovely part of Lytham. Unfortunately, we booked late and consequently had a room to the rear of the hotel with no view at all. The public rooms to the hotel were very cozy and inviting, the breakfast meals were well served and plentiful. Evening meals were too expensive and consequently we ate out. Asked if we would stay there again - the answer is yes, providing we were given a sea view room.

Great place to stay: spotless, well-appointed (particularly appreciated reading lights by bed and hook behind door - so many places miss these out.) The refurb is lovely. Bed really comfortable. Great breakfast. Exceptional, friendly service. Excellent value for money. Can't fault it. It deserves all the good reviews.

Stayed in the Fairhaven suite, fabulous room with facilities fit for a king (plus the family!) and plenty of space. The views from the room are superb, very easy to waste a little time sat in the chairs in the bay window taking in the scenery. Staff were great too, very willing, polite and professional.

This is a lovely hotel. It's very nicely decorated, welcoming and in a pleasant location. We went during the Lytham festival but easily managed to get a parking spot. On arrival, the girls on reception were exceptionally pleasant. Only two negatives - our room was very small and we guessed it had originally been a larger one made into two as there seemed to be only a partition wall between us and next door. The guests next door were talking in the morning at conversational level and I could hear exactly what they were saying! Having said that, our friends had a lovely room with a sea view so no complaints there! Secondly, the service at the bar was slow in the evening and considering it was such a busy festival weekend, I think more staff should have been on. The two young men were doing their best but some customers were getting rather frustrated with the wait. We ordered sandwiches when we got back from the concert which were lovely and very reasonably priced. Despite the minor negatives we would definitely return and might even take our pooch as its dog friendly!!

We stayed three days for the proms in a lovely room with sea views on the first floor. The room was spacious and and afforded great views of the sea. It was a well furnished and fitted room with comfortable beds and a lovely walk in shower. Very clean. The staff were helpful and service was prompt. There was an issue the first night due to some guests being locked out due to a telephone problem but the manager was very prompt in resolving and sorting things out for us. The bar area was lovely and we had great bar snacks listening to the resident pianist play a wide range of songs one night. That was very enjoyable. Breakfasts were very nice and the staff very attentive. Would definitely recommend.

We stayed at this hotel as we were visiting family in the area and also attending The Lytham Festival to watch Bryan Adams. We were lucky to get one of the limited parking spaces, although roadside parking would have been available. The staff were very helpful and friendly and the breakfast was good quality and plentiful.

We have just returned from a 2 night stay ar The Glendower our second stay here. The location of the hotel is good short walk into the town the pier . The lounge and bar areas are beautifully decorated with comfortable sofas and cheers . We had a standard bed room with a sea view. A Lovely and spacious room good bed and pillows slept well .Complimentry tea , coffee and biscuits in your room and toiletries in bath room . The breakfast has some thing for every one . Very good . We also had dinner here .The chef deserves a star excellent food well presented don't bother going to an outside restaurant you won't get better than 'The Coast' . Staff helpful and friendly . We will be back soon . ??

Hotel is very clean and comfortable, with plush carpets and smart bathrooms. Various quality breakfast items served in a nice dining room. The staff seem highly trained and professional. They also seem genuinely pleasant. Corridors have a few steps up and down, so could be awkward for some.

Very friendly staff and nice pianist playing which was lovely crated a nice atmosphere, we stayed 2 nights room was spacious and very clean throughout, on the Friday evening we had a lovely bar meal food was delicious, breakfast and staff were very friendly and helpful. Will definitely come back to this hotel. Thanks to all the staff for being so helpful.

Lovely hotel in St Annes. First time we've ever stayed here. Lovely reception greeting on arrival. Room nice and clean. Breakfast self service tea ,toast ,coffee ,croissants cereals yogurts etc. Good choice of cooked breakfasts . Excellent. Staff in restaurant brilliant ,with a special mention to Vincent.thank you.only complaint from us would be the chairs in the breakfast room. Very uncomfortable. Need changing .

Room was compact and would definitely not choose this size for a longer stay with two people. Single traveller would find this more than sufficient. Staff were the friendly people we have come to recognize as the norm for Best Western Customer Service. Breakfast with self serve parts and wait staff parts not the most effiective because toast that you have to make your self was cold by the time the meal arrived. Coffee machine gave excellent choice.

We have stayed at the Glendower on many occasions and it is always a pleasure. The staff are very pleasant, courteous and friendly. The rooms are always clean and well looked after, we normally have a room with a sea view. The food in the Coast is excellent and great value, the breakfast choice is fabulous. We're looking forward to our next stay.

We stayed here for two nights whilst we were going to Lytham festival and absolutely loved our stay! The room, although small, was lovely and well presented and was cleaned daily. We had afternoon tea which was very tasty and our waiter was attentive. The drinks at the bar were a tad pricy so after one drink, we didn't buy any more from here. All in all, a very lovely hotel and would definitely recommend it.

Loved the hotel, very friendly helpful staff. We stopped one night so could attend the Lytham Festival, (which was also excellent, recommended). The room was large and clean. The choice of food and drinks for breakfast was excellent and really good quality. If attending the festival again, would definitely stay here again, it's in an excellent location near the town centre and on the seafront. There are plenty of car parking spaces at the front of the hotel.

Bedroom lovely and clean though uncomfortable bed (but that's just my view). Bathroom and towels clean. Staff helpful and pleasant. Breakfast excellent and good choice. Public areas tidy and clean. Would cheerfully recommend.

The hotel is on the north promenade overlooking the sand dunes that lead onto the beach. The beach is clean and ideal for children although the sea does not stay in for long. The hotel is brilliant having large lounge and bar areas all with superb décor. The breakfasts are wonderful with a huge choice to suit any taste. No faults with this hotel! Give it a try and you won't be disappointed.

Took my dog to Best Western and was very impressed with the high quality of the room. Extremely clean, bright and comfortable. The personal touch for my dog was very much appreciated-treats, blanket and a written note! Will be booking again for sure when hopefully breakfast will be included!

We stayed here overnight using our Tesco Club card points which we had boosted up for a hotel stay. Our room was an executive family room so had a double and a single bed and a little more space although I would not have classed it as "executive" Nonetheless it had a lovely view over the sea and the bed was comfy enough, the room was clean, the hospitality tray well stocked, plenty of hangers in the wardrobe and a very nice bathroom. The public areas of the hotel seemed to be better furnished and maybe they are in the process of doing some refurbishment all round. Our room had a few little problems , a light out in the bedroom, another in the bathroom and a hollow in the floor which when stepped on made such a loud noise I thought someone was banging on the door. The lift was fine when we arrived but 30 minutes later it had broken down. It was repaired very quickly but had broken again next morning. Staff and the men delivering the laundry told us it was only 3 months old and had cost £70.000 but was constantly breaking down so maybe they need a replacement. There was no-one on the bar when we went down for a drink and again when we came in at night and no-one on reception, Eventually a very affable man who was also there at breakfast appeared. Breakfast next morning was very good. Plenty of choice from the a la carte breakfast and all cooked to order and well presented. We enjoyed our stay and to give the hotel credit, by the time we arrived home there was an e-mail apologising for any faults and offering us a complimentary drink if we were to return. Excellent customer service and nice to know they take note of any complaints, even ours which were minor and did not detract at all from our stay.

We only stayed one night as my husband, a musician, was playing in Blackpool. Quick to find even at 11.30pm, the reception night porter was excellent, so friendly and checked us in quickly. Room was ideal, decent size, luxurious and modern decorations, large walk in shower and all necessary items required of a hotel room. We stay in a lot of hotels from 2/3* upwards. I have to comment about the bed and pillows, as previously mentioned, we stay in a lot of hotels, the bed was seriously one of the most comfy we have slept in and the pillows were great too. My husband is 6'5" and this was one of there double beds, we usually go for the king or super king size but it was fine. We had a drink in the bar, friendly helpful bar staff and ordered a cold sandwich which was well presented and tasty served quickly. We only stayed one night and left before breakfast, although it smelt great. Ideal location for Lythams pier and beach and not far to get into Blackpool. Would definitely recommend. Car parking was mentioned in previous feedback, we parked on the main road as we arrived so late at night, not a problem at all. Go you will love it!

We stayed here for 2 nights just recently in July 2016, a Sunday and a Monday night. I have to say this hotel was pretty good! The room was very nice and the bed very comfortable, thick carpets comfy underfoot and lovely bath with complimentary bath soaps. Very relaxing nights sleep and free WiFi was a bonus too (just get the password from reception). We booked with Tesco Clubcard using £120 worth via clubcard boost and paying a little more on top, was a little worried we'd burned so many vouchers in one go but it was alright in the end and well worth doing. Parking was an issue when we arrived on the Sunday due to some weekly ballroom dancing going on, but we had some food downstairs and that soon cleared up and I was able to bring my car in from the road and park up properly. Breakfast was delightful! Smoked Salmon one day and Smoked Kipper the next, very attentive service at breakfast time, food was very tasty and restaurant had a very posh feel to it. Unlimited tea and coffee was of quite a good standard too. We also bought a bottle of wine one night with a prawn cocktail that was nicely presented and tasted great. There is only one small negative to this hotel, and that is the soundproofing. I was woken twice one night by other people peeing! Yep! Gross. The walls are a little thin and when somebody slams their door down the corridor you can hear it. I also awoke with a start because when people open the door of the room opposite, you can hear it so clearly it sounds like your own door opening. Thankfully I was so tired that hearing people either above, below or in room next door going to the toilet didn't bother me enough to mention it, just put a pillow over my head and back to sleep! But I think some people might get upset by that as I could hear every splash!! =| Other than that, I would recommend this hotel. It really was a nice place to come back to after a day at the Pleasure Beach. There is ample parking and a train station just a short 5-10 minute walk away which takes you to Pleasure Beach for about £3 return. Good couple of nights.

Having held my daughters wedding here 9 years ago and having such a good experience decided it was the only place for our wedding. The food was excellent especially the cheesecake 12/10! Excellent staff Excellent service Well looked after nothing was too much trouble, l would highly recommend this hotel for a wedding or function.

All very nice, I had stayed before. I paid £20 extra per night for a "larger" room. Not sure what that's about, as it was just a little larger than the regular sized double bed. But the hotel had just had a refurb, and it showed. The tap tops (hot / cold) were on the wrong taps, and this was reported within an hour, but still wasn't fixed when I checked out 40 hours later. Breakfast - the big disappointment. The "full English" is one item if each, and on the plate, looked somewhat sparse and mean, for what should be a hearty meal. The first morning, it was almost stone cold, and "had the taint of a heat lamp" - in a restaurant with maybe only 15 guests, at around 8:30. It was mentioned to a nice waitress - the staff were very good - who said she'd tell chef. The next morning, it had improved very, very slightly - and was only tepid, which was a shame, as it was obviously quality food. A pleasant stay, it's a great location for St. Anne's, but there is a lot of competition in the area.

Huge rooms with wonderful panoramic views. Excellent breakfast and dinner. Superb staff and facilities. In good weather the outdoor seating is peaceful and very quiet. Near to all amenities and the dunes and beach.

Stayed here for a week very nice hotel with helpful and friendly staff. Good Gym downstairs and the beach is just across the road. Good location for the town centre and promenade. Breakfast cooked to order in the morning and quite good quality

The hotel is just in the throes of being updated and its quite nice. We were in 119 and our bathroom didn't shut properly because they had set the door badly it wouldn't close properly. Could fault the room although our view wasn't very good!! Bed was very hard and there 4 very bad pillows. Breakfast was quite good would stay here again but I would bring my own bed and pillows!! sadly

This hotel is well placed for relaxation, it is in a nice quiet spot but within easy walking distance of all amenities, the rooms with sea view are very spacious but because they face west they are also very warm at night, even with a fan we found it difficult to sleep during the recent hot spell. we found the room to be clean and well furnished but some attention to details is required our room table had what looked like paint marks on it and the curtain was hanging loose on one end. Breakfast consisted of a great variety of foods served by lovely staff and was of a good standard and well presented. there is a large car park at this hotel.

Good location if you want to be near amenities but not right in the the thick of the crowds in Blackpool. Room was clean and food was good. The only downside was on the evening we were staying there was a private party with loud music but this finished at midnight. This was a Saturday so probably only to be expected.

Having recently stayed at this hotel with our dog, we can't praise Vincent enough for looking after us at breakfast time. We would consider returning for his customer service alone. The hotel is clean and spacious and the food was excellent. Disappointing that the snooker table has been removed but that's just my personal taste. The only downside was our room (130) was above the kitchen and almost above the function room. The band music was extremely loud until midnight on Saturday evening, followed by two hours of noise from the stairwell areas as guests retreated to their rooms in inconsiderate fashion. My mother had a room on the second floor (248) and the music caused disturbance at this level too. I passed on my displeasure to the lady tending the bar as the reception was unmanned, inviting the manager to sample the noise in our room. Sadly, no attempt was made to contact us and this is the only downside to our stay. In summary, great hotel, customer friendly but avoid if a wedding is on at the weekend as it is not worth the money if you are an early riser like me.

So this was our free stay as last year was horrendous. We got one of the massive suites, it was fantastic! Very luxurious!!!Nicest room we've ever stayed in, I'm told it's nicer than what they use for the honeymoon suite. Main bedroom with a queen size bed, chesterfield settee, massive flatscreen TV, coffee maker, ensuite shower with balcony overlooking the sea. Then we had a twin with flat screen TV and an ensuite with a bath. We had a free evening meal and breakfast, all fantastic, we were so well looked after. Thank you to all staff, you work so hard :-)

This hotel has a particularly good gym for the size of hotel. The restaurant is also a cut above average. Its located on the seafront which is a bit bleak. Its within walking distance of the facilities in the centre of St Annes

We stayed overnight for a family wedding, we had a double room which was lovely, we had lunch from the bar which was really good.. We had a lovely stay, staff are very nice, we will definitely be returning for a longer stay next time.. This hotel is right opposite the beach,and the shops, park and centre are only a 2 minute walk..

I recently had my 21st birthday party at this venue and it was exceptional. The staff were very helpful in the months, weeks and hours prior to the event and I cannot recommend them highly enough. The venue is of the highest quality and the buffet food was delicious. A perfect venue for any event.

I have just had 3 fantastic nights and four days. This hotel, the room, the food, the staff were friendly, approachable, and very helpful nothing was too much trouble. A special mention for Hailey and Tom who were brilliant. I would highly recommend this hotel.

We have commented about the Glendower previously. After a week of speaking to negative people in various industries who think they can deliver customer service, I decided to take part in an a Manchester to Blackpool cycle ride, in addition to the annual night ride in September (Glendower booked for this year as we checked last year) we have another booking in August for my cousins wedding. Is this hotel expensive? Yes if you earn for example £50.00 per week If you earn say £600.00 per then this hotel is cheap Is this hotel value for money? Yes without question Would I recommend this hotel to the demanding? I see no reason not to I have many years experience in the automotive industry from manufacturing to sales to front line face to face customer service and won awards, in the industry today they have service advisor's, who don't advise as they are not technically knowledgeable The staff employed within the Glendower, who is the best, difficult as they are not uniform robotic types but all individuals within a team, all helpful, more like talking to a trusted friend,. I never hear those dreadful words no, I'm sorry you feel that way, we can't do that, we haven't the facilities etc One example, may I order breakfast, full English without this and that? The reply “certainly sir, is there anything else you would like? No just does not exist ” After completing this event I decided to order a meal, I spoke to one of the young ladies immaculately dressed just enough make-up, my question was fish or scampi? I was advised the fish may make me feel too full the scampi would be a better choice, so I ordered that and I felt fine, just right To conclude, let me tell you all the people employed here are switched on, if I was asked to deliver a customer service presentation, I would say no as you can't teach this team much, is there a better hotel in St Anne's on Sea, I don't know, I have no reason to find out – St Anne's on Sea “think hotel think Glendower”

We stayed here stayed here in May (so sorry for tardy review!), a group of about forty who came to sing out hearts out being part of a choir and attending a (fantastic) singing workshop. My friend and I initially stayed in a refurbished room, but having a problem with noise, we very quickly reallocated to an un-refurbished room which was huge! So, firstly I wouldn't be put off by stories of these rooms being a little tired around the edges, and I think this will change as the hotel continues it's programme of a complete makeover, overall we found to be exceptionally clean. As an organised party, meals were prearranged for us, on the whole the quality was good, and the staff were more than happy to make any changes where possible. The weather was fantastic, we spent most of our downtime sitting outside in the sun (yes it was May and up north), I really felt as though I was on holiday and even went home with a bit of a tan. But the overriding impression I came away with from the hotel was that it was like being at home. I felt so relaxed, okay this did have something to do with the singing, but the staff were amazing, friendly and accommodating, and had a great sense of humour. I would definitely stay there again if I ever visit St Anne's again.

We booked this hotel at short notice to attend a family funeral in Lytham there were several rooms booked for family coming from Northern Ireland, Suffolk and North Yorkshire, the rooms were all spotless with everything provided including wifi the breakfast was varied and first class , the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Would certainly return and recommend it.

We have just returned from another wonderful week's stay at the Glendower. The whole of the hotel is being beautifully refurbished and is looking really modern and stylish but at the same time keeping its welcoming and original charm along with the very friendly staff who are as helpful and efficient as ever. This time we stayed in the exquisite Ribble View suite which was an absolute delight to spend time in. Also the views from the balcony are spectacular with views of the beach and seafront in addition to being able to see for miles in all directions, simply breathtaking. The Coast restaurant is very stylish and as always serves generous portions. The breakfasts are delicious as they're all freshly cooked to order and the self service area is well stocked and varied which really sets you up for the day. The hotel is so convenient for all that St. Anne's has to offer such as the long promenade, the friendly town, the beautiful Ashley Gardens and the wide array of excellent restaurants. Thank you once again for another wonderful week's stay and I'm really looking forward to returning soon for another lovely holiday.

Stayed for two nights with our dog who is an old English sheep dog. We were all made welcome when we arrived especially Baxter our four legged member of our family. Room was spacious Baxter was thrilled when he saw they had left him blanket, dishes and treat. We had a sea view with a low window which meant Baxter could watch the world go by. Could not eat breakfast in the dining room but was served breakfast in a lounge area. Breakfast was lovely and Baxter was given a bowl of water and a sausage, such a nice touch. We had three flights of stairs to go up but we never asked if there was a lift because it was good excersise. Certainly stay again ideal for driving into Lytham, Blackpool and Cleveleys. Lots of restaurants in Lytham that you can sit outside with your dog and have a lovely meal. Great location for the beach and sand dunes that Baxter loved. Well done to all the staff. Especially from Baxter??.

Fabulous hotel. Stayed recently and couldnt fault the hotel. Nice size room.. clean.. friendly. To say we encountered a few minor issues would be fair. Not of the nature worthy of a complaint the sort that if no one told the hotel they wouldnt have known... This however didnt dampen our experience of the stay and the fact that Mikayla on reception did everything in her powers to resolve said issues made it more memorable. She was an absolute star. Very helpful and nothing was a problem to her. Thank you. Rgds Neil. X

The room had been refurbished but was basic at best.it was clean and the bed was comfortable. The staff are very friendly especially at the reception.we paid £10each for the breakfast definitely not worth it!

extremely clean rooms a really nice touch with extra toiletries in the room just make sure when you book if you do not like lots of stairs ask to be on the side of the lift friendly staff and in a quieter area of Blackpool close to the beach and all other amenities breakfast choice was excellent and the hotel was fantastic value for money but definitely not a value hotel

Stayed with friends on a girls night out earlier this year and had a lovely time. Arrived in the afternoon and the four of us had been accommodated in the Fairhaven Suite comprising of two very generous sized bedrooms and a bathroom. One of the bedrooms had a sea view and a large bath towards the back of the room (only used as a source of amusement whilst we stood in it to take photos). Enjoyed afternoon tea with a choice of sandwiches although desserts not great. The hotel was in the middle of renovation but was still immaculate. Breakfast was very good and staff throughout the stay were extremely helpful. Would definitely stay again

So I guess there is only so much you can ask of a best Western. The location is nice enough as it is right on the beach. But it is quite far from the centre and restaurants. It is quiet and has nice sofas in the lounge. However the room I had was very small and not well furnished. Breakfast was at best average with rather flavourless cooked option and unappealing buffet. All in all this place is OK for just better than a B&B. But only just...

Twelve friends and myself came yesterday for a birthday celebration. We were greeted with a welcoming celebration drink and a lovely afternoon tea. Jimmy really looked after us with patience and humour. Would like to thank Vicky and her team for an enjoyable afternoon in pleasant surroundings.

Just spent a spontaneous one night here, arrived with nothing but the clothes we had on and the dog.. Chloe couldn't have been more helpful and even helped us out with toothbrushes! Excellent location, quiet and relaxing just what we needed, the Breakfast and bar food were of a very high standard...would definitely stay here again but with luggage.

Stayed here for 3 nights whilst visiting friends. Lovly hotel, very clean, comfortable. Friendly staff, excellent food. Would be very happy to stay here again. Bit of a haul up the stairs with case as only a lift on one side of the hotel, but we were offered help with the case so it was not a problem at all. We enjoyed our stay very much.

first time we have visited the glendower hotel, but can assure you it wont be the last, we went as a family to celebrate my husbands 70th birthday, we were met by very friendly staff, rooms were very comfortable, food was excellent, grandchildren carnt wait to go back.

I recently stayed in this hotel with my girlfriend for the weekend. It's set in a really nice location right on the coast and there was plenty of parking available. We had a lot of plans so didn't particularly spend too much time at the hotel so can't comment on the restaurant, but the staff were great! The only issue we had that was resolved instantly thanks to the staff was that we had booked based partly on the pictures on the internet which looked great, but was allocated a room which appeared not to have been refurbished. But as I said, was resolved instantly upon bringing it up and our new one looked great as in the pictures with everything you would expect provided and nice and clean too. Only other thing I would mention is that the room was very hot and didn't provide much airflow with the window open either. All in all, it worked out nicely for us and we had a great weekend!

Went for afternoon last year and decided there and then we would return to stay at the Glendower next chance we got. The cocktail afternoon tea was fabulous and the staff were so lovely and attentive. The stay there didn't disappoint - Mon-Wed, we ate in the Coast restaurant there and the food was reasonably priced, original and tasty. We got a £3 reduction on our afternoon tea £9.95 as guests and spent a relaxing afternoon in the lounge with an extra pot of tea at the finish free of charge. Fabulous would definitely go back.

Stayed here for a few days while attending a dog show. Beautiful hotel, far exceeded my expectations. Room although small had everything we needed and was very clean and excellent value for money. We took two dogs instead of one which we had originally booked but there was no problem. Staff were extremely helpful and we were allowed to sit in the bar to listen to the evening entertainment (highly recommend ) If you want a holiday with your dog in a gorgeous hotel with beautiful costal walks on your doorstep this is the place to stay. We have just had a lovely weekend at the Glendower for my husbands 60th birthday. A lovely time was had by all the family and friends who came and also stayed over at the hotel. Sophie was great to keep in touch with while she also organised everything for us. David and his team did us proud on the evening. The Glendower was brilliant as usual. Thank you all.

We have just returned from a most enjoyable stay at The Glendower Hotel. We chose this hotel as it was listed as dog friendly and the hotel and it's excellent and attentive staff did not let us down. We were allocated a large Seaview room which was very well presented. There was a dog blanket and food/drinking bowls supplied in the room on arrival and a welcoming letter for our dog Bertie which listed his options for an evening meal - all for an additional room cost of £10 which in our opinion is very good value. Nothing was too much trouble throughout our stay and at no time at all did we feel restricted by having the dog. This is the reason we are posting this review so that others can enjoy a great stay in a very good hotel situated in a lovely part of the country. The Smith Family and Bertie

What a wonderful experience! Coming from the US on vacation, it was so nice to stay somewhere that was comfortable, welcoming, and really beautiful. We stayed in the Fairhaven Suite and were so impressed by its picturesque views of the beach, its comfortable bed, its large in-room tub, and its expansive size. The gym at the Glendower is one of the best hotel gyms I've seen with myriad cardio equipment and free weights. The breakfast was superb and the staff was very attentive and helpful. Overall, what a pleasant experience! Will certainly be booking the Glendower again on my next visit.

We got married at the Glendower on June 4th 2016. What a wonderful day! ! We put our trust in the amazing staff and we had no worries from start to finish. Sophie and Hayley were fantastic and attended to everything so professionally. The room looked gorgeous, all the guests said the food was delicious, compliments to the chef yummy yummy!! We felt truly special on our Big Day!!!! Thanks so much to everyone.

A lovely room with a sea view although sometimes a bit noisy early in the morning as the road outside could be quite busy. Currently undergoing some refurbishment but that didn't cause us any problems. Despite being 30 people in our group all arriving for meals at the same time the staff were wonderful always smiling and very friendly,

We stayed here last weekend to attend a family gathering. Our room was on the second floor up a huge amount of narrow and steep stairs, good job we are both fit and healthy. The room was obviously recently decorated and clean, what a shame it was tiny, with the thinnest walls. We were advised that there was a wedding on and there might be some late night noise. That was fair enough, and didn't go on to long, what did stop us sleeping was the TV in the next room- you could hear every word or dialogue and the poor fellow had a cough. Also did I mention that the room was hot- stifling hot, it was cooler on the landing. We did ask reception for a fan along with some extra pillows- neither appeared. The fan is the bathroom did not work which only made the room hotter (we reported this to reception- let hope they acted on this) We also had to highlight that the hairdryer in the room did not work, but as it had a failed PAT test sticker on it not sure why it had even been left in the room. The breakfast was good quality produce for the fry up, WIFI is flaky. Parking is a nightmare- the only advise from reception was to park out the road at the front which despite being only two hours parking is fine as "they never come up this far".

Room was a little small with limited desk space if you need to do any work on an evening. Breakfast very good but could have started a little earlier. TV did not work and couldn't be repaired over the weekend.

This is our 4th stay at this hotel. We wouldn't stay anywhere else in st.annes. The first attraction for us is the fact that they not only allow dogs, they actually go out of their way to welcome our little fur babies with bed, biscuits, bowls and doggy menus in the room. We have always found our room (by quirk of fate we've always been in the same room 127) extremely comfortable, clean and providing all we could need, however, on this visit, we found 'our room' had been totally refurbished. Absolutely gorgeous. New decor new carpets new bathroom. It felt truly 5*. The only tiny fault in the room was it was too hot (rare in this country I know!) Breakfast was lovely and plentiful with great service. The hotel offers true value for money. Would thoroughly recommend to anyone. This certainly will not be our last visit. Can't wait to go back.

Stayed for a night at a wedding. The venue itself for the wedding was lovely. Food was ok. Breakfast wasn't the best very basic and no eggs. The rooms are clean but No air con meant it was absolutely boiling ! And there was a noisy vent outside the window. Average.

This is our third visit to the Glendower. My room has clearly been renovated recently and it has been completed to a very high standard. Nice touches including USB sockets for charging phone, neat bedside lights etc. New carpet. Bathroom well appointed. If staying in St Annes it is well located and has good car parking facility.

We had 3 nights here our room was good modern and fresh although some attention to small detail could be addressed The restaurant however, the food was very well prepared and presented but service leaves a lot to be desired we were booked for d b&b otherwise we would have ate else where All said we would return if in the area

Fantastic hotel in a great locations, we had a long weekend here and the room was newly refurbished, very comfy. Bonus free car park after our 5 hour drive from Cambridge, would recommend. Staff polite, helpful and could not do enough for you. breakfast optional but worth the extra, very fresh with lots of choice. Bus routes on road behind, tram doesnt go this far.

I had to find somewhere at very short notice as my elderly Mum had to move out of her flat for a few days for work to be done. The hotel she chose first just wasn't ok so after one night there, I went along to the Glendower as we've had some amazing afternoon teas there, especially my Mum's 90th birthday last December. Michaela on reception was just fantastic, the hotel was busy and she had to do quite a bit of manoeuvering around to find a suitable room for my Mum's mobility problems, but she was certainly up for the challenge! Emma took me up to show me a couple of other rooms to compare then took me to the perfect room for our needs, near the lift, clean and spacious, handrails, wetroom, tea and coffee facilities, and all in beautiful relaxing colours. I brought my Mum along and she was delighted to be in such elegant surroundings. We had some beautiful meals in the restaurant and the staff were all friendly and helpful, just as before. Particular thanks to Michaela, Emma, David and Stephen, I can't praise them enough and they turned what was a difficult and stressful time into a lovely mini-break.

Stayed here for four nights, Bed and Breakfast. Girl at check in desk was very friendly. Our room on the second floor was small but clean. We ordered sandwiches from the bar menu. I ordered Roast Beef with Caramelized Figs and Pickled Shallots. When it came, there was nothing on the vsandwich other than the Roast Beef. I spoke to the boy who served us and he said he would go to the kitchen. He returned a few minutes later and said "There's no Caramelized Figs, but here's some Shallots" and put down a small glass dish with what looked like sliced pickled onions. I spoke to him again and he said he would get the Manager. He duly arrived and after hearing about the 'Sandwich' he apologized profusely and said he would speak to the chef and deduct it from the bill. Our Radiator wasn't working and after a few phones calls and staff checking it, we were offered another room which we accepted. On our last morning at breakfast, there was no butter on the table and when I asked the girl she said they had 'run out'. I ordered Smoked Salmon and Scrambled Eggs and was told they had 'run out' of Smoked Salmon. I can understand to a certain extent the Hotel running out of Salmon but certainly not butter. All the staff were lovely but can't see us returning.

We stayed here for one night whilst working nearby. The hotel is in a great location on the prom with the sand dunes opposite. There is a car park on site and you can park overnight on the road, although not in the day. We had a great room overlooking the beach. The room was a good size with a desk, nice bathroom and plenty of space to walk around. There were a good number of plus and the wifi signal was decent too. There is a gym downstairs which has a good mix of machines and is open early in the morning. Room service was excellent - nicely cooked food and a good selection on the menu. The staff at breakfast were very pleasant and it was nice to have food cooked to order rather than just buffet. The hotel is pet friendly too so I'll probably be back with the dogs in the autumn.

Excellent Hotel. Best quality in St. Annes. You cannot get better. One a qiete part of the Promenade Road and overlooking the Irish Sea and sand dunes.Staff very friendly and food and service very good.

From the beginning to the end of our short break the Glendower Hotel proved an excellent place to stay! Every member of staff made us feel like valued guests- nothing was too much trouble. I had requested- and was given- a room near to the lift as I was recovering from a foot operation. The spacious room, recently refurbished, modern and with facilities for the disabled, was just fantastic and surpassed all my expectations. Meals, in the stylish Coast restaurant, were top class. Reception staff were really helpful too when my daughter decided to join us at short notice- she was delighted with her room. Thanks to all at the Glendower for making our trip so enjoyable and relaxing!

I had an overnight business stay recently. The hotel is nicely situated on the seafront but the rooms are very variable. Mine was small, cramped and stuck at the back of the hotel with a dismal view. Bed was comfy enough but the walls were extremely thin - I was kept awake by the person in the next room snoring. TV matched the room - small and low resolution. Breakfast was fine, cooked to order and the staff were friendly. In summary: well situated hotel but make sure you don't get put in the small rooms at the back.

Stayed Friday and Saturday for my better halfs 50th. Greeted by very friendly and efficient staff at reception. Check in took a couple of minutes and we decided to book a table at Coast for that evening. We had booked a standard double room which was on the second floor up a couple of flights of stairs with no lift on this side of the building. Not a problem for us but for those with mobility issues I would recommend you let the hotel know in advance and I'm sure they will accommodate you on the side with the lift or on a lower floor. The room itself was very quiet and huge really with one double bed and a separate room with a single bed. The bathroom was large and had complimentary toiletries which are very handy for a couple nights stay. We slept very well due to there being absolutely no noise at all (quieter than a Premier Inn!!). The hotel is a short walk away from the pier and the shapes and restaurants. After we had unpacked we decided to have a few drinks in the bar. Beware the Martini cocktail blows your socks off. We were accompanies by a lovely chap playing the piano whilst we watched the the world go by.... Very relaxing! The staff were absolutely lovely. You can tell this is a family run business and all staff were polite and couldn't do enough for you. Breakfast is in Coast and is varied and plentiful... A glass of Bucks Fiizz was a lovely touch and a great way to start the birthday celebrations... Thank You! Check out was just as quick as the check in and we were sad to leave. Had a quick look at the Gym and it looks extremely comprehensive for a hotel gym. We will be returning, probably very soon!!

Just returned from three nights at the Glendower. Location is about 100m from the Pierre on the Blackpool side. This is quieter and there are sand dunes opposite and then the sea. I think this is better than the busier south side of the pier. The public areas are excellent - big lounges, well-stocked bar (Wainwrights on draft) and an excellent restaurant. Breakfast and dinner were superb. Dinner with prix fixe menu that didn't change while we were there; not a problem for a short stay. I'm unsure how they would cope with children. You would need to check this. I thought the price reasonable. I was a bit disappointed with the room - small but perfectly adequate. I would pay a bit more for a bigger room. If you don't know the area, it is a hop, skip and jump into Blackpool or Lytham (fantastic place, but my home town!) and there are loads of buses up until 11 pm. Try it!

I stayed here on Monday evening with my mum and dad who were staying for a couple of days. My mum booked my room directly at the hotel and Chloe on reception was very helpful. The room I was allocated was a refurbished room and was beautiful, spotlessly clean and very comfortable with a very comfortable bed. Every member of staff I met were friendly, polite and helpful. I dined in the 'Coast' restaurant and the food was delicious and the service outstanding. I have stayed in a few of the hotels in St Anne's and this is by far the best in every way. Will definitely be back soon.

On arrival we where met by friendly staff and given room number on the first floor room overlooking the sea stunning view.The decor was a bit dated could do with a up lift.Sadly the fruit in the bowl was mouldy throw it away. The bed was ok comfy room had bottled water tea coffee etc.The breakfast was great plenty of options staff brilliant.NOW lets talk about the wedding breakfast sorry but the food was the worst we have ever tried to eat we spent a great deal of time and effort in arranging this wedding but the food was terrible if this was a cheff god help us needs replacing i work in a hospital restuarant and if i had served that i would have been sacked.Even attending a taster before booking we where confident everything would be ok we asked for the soup not to be to spicey this was done the vedge was not cooked properly and as for the beef it was like shoe leather sweet was ok ish.W e then thought the evening buffet would be better how wrong can you be it was disgusting dont blame the staff they where superb YES we as parents did complain and we filled out a questionair awaiting response we paid a awfull lot of money on this venue we would never have a large function there again they where to far out of their comfort zone i would give this venue a wide birth ok for bed breakfast not a wedding .The cheff if it was a cheff needs retraining i can eat most things this was behond a joke i could go on but it will fall on deaf ears. Please avoid it for weddings christenings large gatherings .

We stayed at the Glendower for two nights in the middle of April 2016. The rooms were clean tidy, well decorated. Very comfortable. The lounge and bar areas are very comfortable too. We can't believe this is only a three star hotel the facilities, ambience and attendance of staff deserves to be more. We had a meal at their coast restaurant which was absolutely superb - compliments to the chef. The flavours were phenomenal. We can't praise the staff enough either. The waiting staff in the restaurant were lovely, very attentive and amusing. We felt very well looked after, it was the attention to detail that made our stay so special, from the Birthday card in the room for my husband, reserving the window seat for breakfast, preparing tables in the quiet lounge so more family members could join us (all this with a wedding reception going on). Lovely friendly and professional hotel. We would definitely recommend it and stay there again. Dogs are also welcome at the hotel and the Sandy beach opposite the hotel is massive, a great place to walk the dogs.

I stayed at this Hotel a few years ago with work, may i just say wow the hotel is been totally refurbished i stayed in the Back of the hotel a Double room. Reception was quick and helpful, got to my room what a lovely room very clean dust free and care has come from housekeeping to make it feel home from home, I had a Meal what i must say was out of this world i will be passing on the message that this hotel is Excellent.

Stayed for one night and was pleasantly surprised.. Never been in such a dog friendly hotel with water bowls, treats and sausages and blanket in the room ready which helped make our stay more pleasurable ,The staff were always on hand and helpful

I stayed at the Best Western Glendower Hotel the night before my friends wedding in March and it was perfect! We were allocated the Ribble View Suite, which was beautiful and extremely comfortable! It had a lovely sitting area with sofa in the main bedroom and patio doors to the balcony with a fantastic view! The 4 of us had a lovely meal (brought up to the bedroom) and all staff we came across were extremely pleasant and helpful! The morning of the wedding we came downstairs to be greeted by David who had set us up a lovely area in the Lounge to eat breakfast in. The breakfast menu had plenty of choice and was hot and delicious. Everything we needed before we set off to the venue. The hotel is in a lovely location and offered free wifi to guests. We had a fantastic evening and will definitely return! Thank you!

I stayed here for one night last month before attending an event the next day - everything was fantastic! Room was lovely, spacious and clean and the staff were more than helpful. Would definitely recommend and will be staying again!

A short break based on dinner, bed and breakfast was very pleasant. The room was small for the price but service was cheerful and generally quick. A nice hotel, quiet but convenient for transport and town centre shops.

it has been a very enjoyable weekend ,hotel staff helpful and friendly . bedroom with on suit wet room was modern comfortable and roomy, housekeeping throughout the hotel was very good as was the food. all in all it exceeded our expectation and good value for the money we will definitely return for the next themed weekend if not before

What a fantastic weekend..started Friday afternoon, with family and friends, wonderful welcome from our host Hailey,what a fabulous person, and along with the staff, made our stay brilliant.My wife and family shared the Ribble view suite,fantastic, what a place to stay for a holiday..The murder mystery night was on the Saturday, the players were great and so much fun was had by everyone, hope they do another soon. Well, we have had 3 visits to the Glendower hotel, afternoon tea..Sunday lunch and this weekend,,every visit has been enjoyed and we will certainly be back again..thanks again to Hailey and all the staff.

One of the very best BW Hotels I have stayed in, in the UK! This was my second visit to this hotel and will stay again in the future.....could not fault it at all.......The staff are just outstanding, great service all round....comfortable relaxing place to stay....good internet connection...x

Stayed at this hotel after a wedding. Room was at top of stairs not a problem, until come bedtime it was like a motorway junction and just as much noise. The room was presented well and clean and tidy however the double gassed Windows might as well not been fitted, you could here ever feather blowing past by and that was with the windows closed as tight as they would be. Then breakfast ...... I have to say the full English........1 sausage, egg, bacon, mushroom. Black pudding half slice tomato and half slic of oil.....fried bread was not at all the best I've even been close to. The bacon was dry and hard and tasted nothing other than its own fat.....obviously oven cooked on a tray and the oil....sorry fried bread.....well it was a puddle of oil .....obviously deep fried in a chip fan. The fried egg must have been sun bathing a day or two under the heat as it was as dry as the sense of humour the water had. Was definitely not one of our best stays away and one that we would never undertake again I would rather walk home bare footed on a footpath of broken bottles first.

The family room was quite big with separate room for the kids which I love. My only problem was the carpet. It looked like it hasn't been vacuumed before we checked in. It was covered in looks like dog hairs. It wasn't nice at all. I always rate hotels by their cleanliness. Because of this I am very disappointed and will not stay there again. We will visit Lytham again this April & have booked to another hotel. Hopefully this time it will be better.

Tidy clean hotel, but never stay when they have a function in the ballroom because the noise in the bedrooms is horrendous! You can't drown it out with tv and it's actually quieter if u go down to the bar! Otherwise staff helpful if a tad disorganised, bedroom quite small but Ok for a couple of nights.

Stopped in the ribble suite and it was amazing... Views from the balcony in the morning was brilliant. The food and staff made our stay they went above and beyond to make us happy ... The lift was being redone due to it being old but this did not stop us from enjoying our stay......

We were on a residential course on 10th/11th March 2016 . On arriving we were informed that the lift was not working..a problem for us ,due to disablement. To be fair there is stair lift but no use for cases etc . We had to change our room to the 1st floor . Very impresses with it. Large , with a beautiful bathroom. Lunch for us was buffet style ,including wraps . These were not labelled and no- one in our party knew the contents .one contained mustard . Not everyone what's that . This was sorted next day as our trainer complained. In the evening we meet in the bar . The very young and evidently untrained bar tender told me no lemon , or lime for drinks . (At 6pm!) our dinner menu was very limited. Presumably as our company was paying the bill . The chicken was very dry and the risotto undercooked. Other niggles :- no hairdryer ,,no shampoo or shower gel , no swimming pool . These were mentioned in either the info in the room or on the web site. This is misleading , especially if that had been the reason for choosing the glendower. This said the surroundings were lovely, and the staff did their best.

I have eaten Afternoon Tea around the world, and frequently make them myself! However this was the nicest one I've ever tasted! The food, layout and service were wonderful. I was genuinely surprised!! I shall return.

Our very first stay at Glendower Hotel for 3 nights. Hotel was excellent in every way. Reception staff were very helpful and the breakfast waiting staff were amazing! Breakfast was first class, plentiful and of excellent quality. Our first stay at the Glendower and we will 100% book this Hotel again for our next visit.

Family from Ireland had travelled over for a birthday celebration and we all decided to stay at the New Glendower as it was closest to the party location. Having not stayed before I guess we didn't really know what to expect. There 21 of us all together and from arriving at various times on the Saturday until we left Sunday lunchtime, we couldn't have been made to feel more welcome - in fact my cousins thought the staff knew me personally. Although check in was officially 3 o'clock we were allocated our rooms as they became available. All the rooms were spacious, clean and well equipped -lovely comfy beds and sparkling bathrooms. Breakfast was lovely too. I can't praise the staff enough - everyone was happy and smiling and nothing was too much trouble. Even though there was a Wedding Fayre on the Sunday and staff were busy, anything we asked for, we got. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay albeit short and I would recommend the New Glendower to anyone. All the staff were brilliant as I say - it was a pleasure to stay with them.

Took my Mother for afternoon tea as couldn't be with her on Mother's Day. Greeted by a very polite young man who showed us to a delightful table in the sunshine and the beach. Gorgeous afternoon tea and nothing too much trouble endless refills of pots of tea. Perfect thank you with the offer to take any cakes not eaten home with us but we ate it all as was just so delicious. My Mum and I had a lovely time and will be back for another afternoon tea soon for sure Carrie Ellis

This hotel is currently undergoing refurbishment, & the public areas are very pleasant. Some rooms are already upgraded, others are not. We paid a very modest price & were very happy with our accommodation, & appreciated the helpful staff & brilliant location. We look forward to a return visit.

Stayed over for a private function but so glad we were only booked in for one night as we were allocated one of the smallest, most depressing hotel rooms I have ever stayed in. It was one of the coldest nights of the winter and there was also a problem with the heating which hotel staff did not at first admit to. We were told the heating would 'kick in' at 4.00 pm but of course it didn't. Later we found the problem had occurred the day before. The hotel is undergoing refurbishment but I doubt whether some rooms could be improved. There was also a considerable amount of mould growth in the bathroom which really there is no excuse for.

The greeting was fine and the receptionist helpful, however the lift was out of order and we were offered the use of a stanna chair, a bad knee and a location at the top of the hotel was a bitter blow. Everything above the ground floor was tired and dated, the room although clean and sufficient had curtains that were only just hanging and an electric radiator of a certain vintage. The bathroom had an electric shower, poor water pressure and a set temperature that was constant despite all efforts to change. The toilet was in such a position that deemed it restrictive and uncomfortable being so close to both the bath and the wall. The room had a flat screen TV so small and low to the ground one had to sit up close to watch. The staff were very accommodating, especially in the dining room, however the meagre portions at breakfast and the badly cooked and presented meal on the last day, meant that this review merits a low mark.

A very good and handy hotel. Excellent staff and very nice food in the restaurant. A good experience which made our stay memorable for all the right reasons. Will definitely use again when in he area.

We booked this hotel for just one night with our Patterdale Terrier, the location drew us as we wanted a good base for walking. The hotel staff could not have been more accommodating, whilst our dog was not allowed in the bar or restaurant they set a table for us in the lounge for both dinner and breakfast, and the service was second to none. We enjoyed two courses from the a la carte menu which was excellent value for money. At breakfast they even brought 2 sausages on a separate plate for the dog and a bowl of fresh water. The dog received a letter in our room with his own dinner menu which was a great touch and certainly made us smile. The room was comfortable and clean and you would not have thought it accommodated dogs on a regular basis. We wholeheartedly recommend this hotel for fellow dog lovers travelling with their furry friends and would definitely stay here again. Thank you for making the 3 of us so welcome!

We stayed for 2 nights BBEM and had a massive sea view room. The breakfasts were a great start to the day and the evening meal was good value at £25 for 3 courses. Very friendly staff and big cosy sofas to relax in with a post dinner coffee/drink Great location just 5 mins into town. We would certainly stay again - bet its really busy in summer though!

Stayed here with my girlfriend for one night, room was spot on nice sized bed, clean room, hotel looked very posh, a lot of parking, close walk to town. Close to Blackpool about a 10 minute drive, Only problem was noise during the night from other rooms so possibly may have thin walls, but overall good I would return!

room had severe issues with damp room 111 we stayed thursday 18th feb 2016 , room was not serviced apart from somebody removing the shower curtain? upon we were told under staffed and given a hand full of towels to put on the floor to soak up water from the shower which was barely a trickle and would have struggled to even wet the floor!. the following day after notifying that the room was not serviced was still not hoovered or properly cleaned some of the lights in the room did not work the windows did not close properly and rattled and whistled when windy all night! would not recommend this hotel to anybody we did not use any facilities as the impression from the room said it all would not recommend !

Hotel is very well located with great views over the sea & river Ribble. Although there were a few issues with room allocations (hotel was fully booked & we had to insist on the sea-view room we had booked) the staff were extremely helpful and accomodating. We were part of a large party enjoying a dinner dance there & I have to say that all the food we had for both breakfast & evening meals was excellent. Our room was spotlessly clean, very spacious & well appointed - the two minor mainteneance faults we reported were put right very quickly. It was a thoroughly enjoyable weekend.

Beautiful hotel behind the dunes in a quiet part of town just a few miles from Blackpool. A modern hotel feel inside with an old exterior. Good, friendly staff from breakfast through to dinner and supper. Our room was small though we knew that on booking but even so it was a well decorated and very clean. Breakfast moved rooms on our stay but there was no notification. It did take much to figure out where it was but it would have been nice to be informed. There was bar food off a menu if you didn't go for dinner but if you went for dinner for more than one night there wasn't much choice if your diet was poor. The town was a short walk away with some good places to eat, so all wasn't too bad. If you can get a good rate off a website then it's better than some hotels, even those closer to Blackpool itself. Overhaul a very pleasant stay and so would stay there again.

My wife & I took advantage of the Dealmonster offer for afternoon tea.What a treat & excellent value for money . The staff were welcoming & friendly particularly Vincent who attended to our every need.We ate in an attractive & comfortable lounge with a bay window facing the seafront.We were served a cocktail, soup, choice of sandwiches, scone jam & cream & unbelievably eight cakes which we thoroughly enjoyed.We would recommend the Glendower without hesitation for the service, location & food.

We went with in laws and 4 dogs. Staff were so helpful and attentive, gave us free upgrade to a sea view room. Food was sensational and comfortable lounge areas. Room was warm and comfortable and very clean. Directly opposite beach which was so perfect for us with dogs, few minute walk from great town centre where we visited Antons for lunch. Wifi was complimentary and fast which was great.

Just the job ,food very good , staff very helpful small problem with heating but sorted out ,would not stop me booking here again, plenty of parking ,room nice and clean ,very near beach and some good walks

This hotel is in a good position right across from the beach, it was pet friendly. The lift was being upgraded which I wish we would have been pre told as i was with my aged parents. The room keys didn't always work and it was a hike running up and down the stairs, there is very bright allergen lights in the car park that shine all night in the front facing rooms. The rooms were clean with comfy beds, there is an excellent cafe just on the beginning of the pier called the cafe pier, fantastic for breakfast, huge portions and very reasonable prices.would I come back to this hotel? Probably not.

My daughter and her new husband chose this hotel to host thier wedding day, on thier first visit there they came home to say they knew where they wanted to get married. I can not fault this hotel - the rooms are spacious clean and warm. The staff are all very helpful. Hayley and David and Sophie who were our main people we dealt with could not have done more to accomodate my daughter and her wishes for her big day. The food is incredable not only in taste but beuitifully presented. I would strongly reccomend this place to anyone for any special and important function they have in thier lives, I have also attended afternoon teas prior to my daughters wedding and recieve the same high standards so i can honestly say it isnt just a job to these people they really do seem to

We had a two night stay at the end of January 2016. We had a superb breakfast before we took a walk along St Annes sea front. The Hotel is ideally placed with the shops just a minutes walk away. Plenty of car parking spaces available. Enjoyed our short stay and will return again in the near future but will ensure we book a sea view - well worth the extra cost. Staff were very friendly and looked after us very well.

We thoroughly recommend the Glendower Hotel. the staff couldn't have been more pleasant and helpful. The décor throughout the hotel is good and well maintained and the dining room contemporary and interesting. The hotel is well placed for walking to all amenities. We are returning in April

An excellent hotel on a seafront location and close to the town centre . There was ample parking on site and it is also possible to park on the road outside the hotel. The accommodation was very comfortable and staff were friendly and helpfull and I would recommend anyone to stay there

Convenient for buses to both Blackpool and Lytham this promenade hotel has excellent catering and comfortable rooms, friendly - if sometimes quirky - service. It'll be a regular for our periodic visits to relatives in the area.

The best afternoon tea I'd experienced. The cakes were especially good and were obviously made by a very experienced baker/confectioner. They were very intricately made and tasted beautiful like you see on the continent in the very best baker's windows. I've had afternoon tea at various establishments with the best previously having been a hotel overlooking the lake in with windermere. We found the window seat relaxing and ambient. The staff checked a few times if we needed more tea or anything and we did get a choice of finger sandwiches which isn't always the case. We were told to take as long as we wished which we didn't in this case as we had to be elsewhere. The hotel looks as though it's been redecorated recently although I've only seen the restaurant and lounges it looks very nice.

Took my mum for afternoon tea. The service was fantastic, from the moment we stepped through the door and the food was delicious. Dainty sandwiches. Sublime scones and perfect daintily. Superb value for money and an afternoon well spent. I will definitely recommend this place.

Had to come to the hotel for a sad occasion but on the bright side I must say the food is by far the best I have ever ate in a hotel....be nice to stay over and sample the menu sometime......5 star for the food and I hope the rooms are just as good? I think they might be comfy as I can see all the new mattresses being carried through reception.

ok but a really noisy room, woke up at 5.00am by guests banging doors! in January really, breakfast really good, great service and choice Food - bar in the evening average expensive for a bar meal - £13.00 for a small salmon salad.. room was warm staff looked bored!

Having stayed over Christmas 2015 We were extremely disappointed with the standard of hygiene with the food we were served having received second hand garnish on our plate with half chewed cucumber from someone else. The bed was very small and uncomfortable for two people. The food served up for Christmas dinner was frankly tasteless and diabolicle.

A great traditional hotel on the seafront at St Anne's, walking distance from the pier and shopping centre, pubs and restaurants. Would recommend for business and leisure. Really helpful and knowledgeable staff. Good traditional English breakfast in the coast restaurant, ample parking at the hotel even comes with slots for electric car charging.

Our 2nd time at this hotel. Staff very accommodating over meals as we had a room to ourselves at a set time but still got a good choice of menu. (Vegetarians catered for). Rooms were clean and ours was well laid out. Could do with a separate shower as we are less mobile and found it difficult to climb into the bath to have a shower. Reception staff very friendly.

Spent two nights at this hotel as I was attending a funeral in the area. Traveling alone I was a bit apprehensive as to what I was going to get for the winter special rate for a single room! I need not have worried! Whilst the corridor outside the room was obviously a work in progress the room itself was exceptional. Beautifully decorated , every amenity necessary, a super comfortable double bed, a delightful surprise. Everywhere was very clean and the staff were welcoming and helpful. Breakfast was plentiful and varied. The post funeral reception (afternoon tea) was also held in this hotel and I have to say it was superb, the staff were sensitive and helpful and everyone commented on the quality of everything provided. I am an older lady and this was the first time I had actually stayed in a hotel alone! I would have no hesitation in staying here again or in recommending it to others.

I've started staying here on business, twice in the last month, and both visits have been very good. The first time I was offered a free upgrade to a wonderful refurbished room overlooking the sea and it was possibly one of the best hotel rooms I have stayed in. The second time I had to make do with a smaller back room but, although not comparable with the first room, was very good value for what I paid. Rooms are well sound proofed and equipped, the hot water tap on my second room wasn't working correctly but apart from that there was nothing to complain about. I would have thought housekeeping would have picked up the tap during service though. Check-in is fast, pleasant and painless and the lounges etc. are tidy and well maintained with good views of the promenade and sea. WI FI was good. I haven't eaten dinner hear but the breakfasts are very good. Unusually the kitchen cooks to order, so no dried out eggs congealing under the heat lamp here. There is a very good continental selection and lots of hot options apart from the full English, I recommend the haddock and poached eggs. Overall a very good hotel that I hope to continue to visit on my occasional trips to Blackpool.

It was just a one night stop-over for a family house party between Christmas and New Year, so didn't want to spend much money. The Glendower had a good offer and I knew it would be a basic room, but it had a great bathroom and all we needed for a comfortable night. The staff were all very attentive, friendly and efficient. Any problems were ironed out quickly (I had a glass of wine which was definitely corked, and got a replacement without fuss). The live singer in the bar that evening was good but rather loud when we wanted a quiet unwind drink after busy and noisy family do. Would definitely stay again and recommend to anyone.

First time we had stayed at the Glendower and after reading some of the reviews was slightly worried. However we need not have worried, from start to finish the Hotel and staff were excellent. The room was comfortable and warm with stunning views out to sea. The food was faultless and entertainment was pitched perfectly for all ages. The staff were friendly and approachable with nothing being too much trouble. We will be returning!

A charming located hotel within walking distance of local amenities and walks along the promenade seafront. The rooms and facilities are well maintained and the service provided by the team is always to professional standard.
