Best Western Plus Portland

For a Best Western, this would be 3 stars, but for a BW Plus, it's only a 2. I'm not sure what the specific qualifications are between a standard Best Western and their "Plus" brand, but this particular hotel must have just squeaked by. The front staff was very nice, but both the lobby and rooms had a damp mildew smell. The furniture was sparse and uncomfortable, and the walls were very thin (even low conversational levels were audible from the next room). Pros: - Pet friendly - Nice staff - Had a bigger refrigerator - Average BW breakfast Cons: - Damp mildew smell - Minimal furniture - Thin walls. Could hear normal conversations and early morning alarms through the walls - Would not qualify this as a BW Plus

the employee at front desk said we could check in early since our room was already ready. The room was very spacious and beds were very comfortable, clean room. The breakfast was good but it would have better if another side was added beside the eggs. Good stay.

Went to visit family and found this hotel , had a 4.2 rating, pictures looked nice , so we tried it.. this is and ABSOLUTELY DO NOT stay here.. smelled musty ,it was dirty , no water pressure and no hot water , only warm.. take you money and stay elsewhere

The staff was HORRIBLE, the rooms had roaches, the towels and sheets where still dirty and stained, the manager is creepy, the elevator is sketchy, and the whole thing is just completely unorganized, and some of the “handicap accessible rooms” didn't even have an accessible shower/bath, my keys never worked, the doors constantly get stuck and can't be opened, overall this place is overpriced for it's quality and there are much nicer places to stay in Portland for the same price

The staff was welcoming and patient. Upon entrance, guests can see what is for breakfast on the board. My partner and I came back to the hotel at 10pm and saw what they're serving for breakfast the next day. The breakfast was delicious! Our room was spacious and comfortable. Guests can turn the AC to the lowest setting, 60 degrees. However, our tv was not in perfect condition. We noticed a line that comes down the middle, but wasn't distracting. The toiletries provided are the small travel size shampoo, conditioner, and facial wash. So if you're travelling with a family or large group, bring your own.

This was a last minute decision & we were not sure if we were going to find a room. We did and were very satisfied with the room. It was more than what we expected. We will stay there again if needed in the future.

We chose the Best Western location as it was closest to relative's final resting place. It was an unexpected trip to attend our relative's funeral. The Best Western experience made that much more easier under the given circumstances, Thank you Best Western.

Do not stay here Broken elevator, broken door lock, dirty sheets, TV broke after an hour, had to move rooms twice before determining this hotel was unsafe and made other arraignments last min for a pet friendly hotel,

My family and myself enjoyed our stay. We travel for softball and the hotel was very convenient for us do to being close to the park. The hotel had great service, internet, friendly staff and room was clean. Will recommend to family and friends.

We ended up spending more time than usual in the room due to weather. We were comfortable and the staff was wonderful. it made our stay feel more like a vacation even with the weather conditions outside.

Did not get the room reserved @ BW website weeks in advance and changed to a handicap room where shower leaked into bathroom as no lip. No recognition as long time BW guests and paying rated almost $150 night. Emergency door on ground floor left propped open 24hrs and guest agent said management had been told and chose not to repair. Grass around hotel not mowed in some time and full of mosquitos. Another chain hotel next door had been mowed and grounds in better condition. Internet password did not work. Loud person checked in 2nd night playing music loudly through wall until after 2AM. Lots of semi permanent guests outside smoking although least of our concerns as seemed like nice gentlemen. We will not be staying again when we return to the area. 1st and last stay at this BW hotel. Marriott or LQ next time.

Before I booked my stay at the Best Western in Portland, I had read the many comments that referred to the strong smell of mold in the hotel. I was skeptical, as it is not uncommon for hotels in the Gulf coast area to have a bit of a musty smell. However, when I arrived and entered the hotel, the very strong smell of mold hit me as soon as I walked into the entryway. The smell was still very evident in the lobby as well. I mentioned this to the Front Desk Clerk, but she brushed it off and did not reply. Once in my room I did not notice any moldy smells. The hotel is currently in a state of renovation, but the mold smell cannot be attributed to that. The many comments on Trip Advisor about the moldy smell go back several years. My 3-night stay in the hotel was a nice one, and the renovations did not negatively affect my stay at all. The bed was very comfy, the air conditioner worked well, and the room was clean. After returning home from my visit, I received an email with a survey about my stay. I completed the survey and made mention of the extremely strong moldy smell in the entry and lobby area. I received a reply from Dwayne, the Front Desk Manager, that was the same generic, scripted and corporate approved reply that everyone gets when a negative comment is made. Since the mold has been commented on for several years now it seems that the ownership and/or management of the Best Western in Portland is either unable or unwilling to correct the problem.

Great location, despite roadwork out front. Very basic location, need some detail work to bring it up to date. But we got a good nights sleep and comfortable beds. Breakfast is OK, nothing to write home about.

My sister and I had to travel for a family emergency. The best western employees were so thoughtful and accommodating for us at our time of need even for a last minute extended stay. Definitely recommend. Thank you!

I stay at many hotels for work and this location is a good place to stay. The staff went above and beyond to make my stay more enjoyable and the room was the cleanest that I have seen in my travels this year.

Pros: Clean room Hard Flooring inside room Staff was super friendly and hospitable Cons: Air conditioner sounded like an old school type writer all night. Smelled badly of mildew Beds were too soft and lumpy I did not sleep well because of all of the cons listed. Overall I will pass this one up in the future. 5 star staff; 1 for the room I didn't complain to management because what's the point.

We stayed here for my daughters wedding, and right away got a great feeling about the place when checking in. 5+ stars to the amazing staff! They helped us feel like family, welcoming and ensuring our comfort and needs were met. Thank you Melinda for taking good care of us!

Stayed here during a quick family getaway. Property was currently under construction with several items needing repair. The staff and the owner were very accommodating and took care of our asks. Several concerns we had about our room were taken care of promptly. The owner called me directly to make sure we were taken care of

Stayed here on April 21st for a quick getaway. Staff is very friendly. Pro. Room is clean, furniture is decent. Con. Room is in extreme need of repair. Broken door lock, cracked shower, missing bathtub caulking, Bathroom fan is extremely dirty. Broken bathroom door threshold. The broken door lock is a huge security issue. Poor standards for a Best Western. Understandably the hotel is under renovation, but the room issues should be high priority.

I stayed here while working in Gregory. Highly recommend this property over the other Best Westerns in close proximity. The customer service is very good and the Rooms are very nice and clean. Just a short drive to the Beach.

We've always had good experiences here in Portland. Good staff and very friendly. The hotel is very to family and many fun and exciting attractions. There are lots of things to see and visit without traveling very far.

Staff was very helpful, hotel breakfast was hot and there were various options from hot to cold. That was very nice. The weather was a bit rainy when my family arrived so didn't get to spend alot of time Pool side, but had nice water feature and public grilling and smoking abilities. Attractions of the city close by, Walmart is just up the street, easy access in and out to Interstate. Work out room was never crowded so it was nice. We will Return! Oh yeah and it was afordable too, coming from a family of 5 that means alot. We were in one of their Queen suites, so there was ample room equipt with pull out sofa. Convient Wi-Fi connections, HBO my kids liked! Overall, Alot a Bang for your Buck and very convienent Quiet Location! They did patrol the parking lot too that i thought was awesome!

Staying here was one of the worst experiences I've had. There's a weird musty smell, the walls and ceilings are thin. You can hear conversations from your neighbor and hear stomping from the ones upstairs, all while your in bed trying to sleep. The staff was the only good thing about this hotel. But I would never return here even as a last resort.

Me and my family had a great time and I first called to me sure there was availability and Joe assured us there was I have to say Joe made us feel at home with his customer service and friendliness!!! So glad you have someone like Joe at the front desk!

Stayed here on first trip to Texas coast since start of COVID. Felt very safe. All precautions were in place. Front desk personnel were friendly and helpful. Hotel had just been updated. Furnishings in rooms were very sleek and modern. Beds were firm which is the way we like them.

This was a great place to stay. It was very clean (despite going through renovations). The front desk staff was so kind and helpful. They both made sure our stay was pleasant. They are serving a warm breakfast compared to others that are still only doing grab 'n' go bags. This was a big plus. Overall, a great stay and will stay here again in the future. :)

We decided to stay at this Best Western because it's on the coast and also because we've stayed at other Best Western's. It was ideal for fishing as well as sight seeing. We were very satisfied with this hotel and also with the personnel.

This place is undergoing a remodel of furniture and is kinda messy' The room was clean and so was the bathroom. One dislike for me was no where to plugin anything at the desk location. Check in person was very helpful and friendly.

Good hotel, breakfast was hot food and coffee which is nice since some hotels have just stopped breakfast completely. Good location, staff was very nice. Room was clean. Only issue ac kicked off twice but stayed on all night do no real complaints. I would stay here again.

Manager Joe and his staff were extremely caring and entirely accommodating during the BIG freeze of 2021. They went above and beyond to make sure we were safe and felt at home. They made sure we had food and one night employee stayed up all night boiling water for coffee the next morning. We love our coffee in the mornings! We always had food of some kind, and the electricity never went off. We can NOT THANK Joe and his staff for keeping us during such a hard time for all! Much kudos!

We stayed at this hotel during the winter storm that caused statewide electric and water outages. When we showed up in the middle of the night to check availability the gal behind the desk went WAY above and beyond to find us a room in the packed hotel! Amidst all the chaos ALL the staff, front desk, housekeeping etc. were super helpful and always with a smile! Hats off to them... a true example of amazing customer service!

I stayed at the Best Western in Portland during the cold weather spell. I can't say enough about this BW. Super friendly, and accommodating staff. Very clean which is especially important during the pandemic. Comfortable beds. Clean bathroom. Clean floors and I know this because I wiped up a water spill and the paper towel was just damp from water and NOT dirty at all. That shows they clean the wood floors. Breakfast very good. Real eggs. It's served from the kitchen to the guest during the pandemic. Kitchen door is open and it's very clean. Staff wore gloves and masks of course. They even have my decaf green tea and honey. JOE and the rest of the wonderful staff are truly dedicated to this BW. They worked so hard during the ice storm that came through. Note to the owners of this BW. Staff like you have are hard to come by. Please take good care of your great staff like they take care of this hotel. A staff can make or break a business. Your staff definitely is an asset to your hotel. Thank you to the great staff for a very pleasant comforting stay.

Place was excellent. Very clean. Staff was very friendly through our whole booking and lodging experience. Beds are very comfy. Breakfast was good. Will recommend to friends and family. Great location easy to get to.

I stayed here with my dog, I had other relatives also staying here. The place was very clean, the rooms are spacious and with plenty of amenities. Unlike some chains, they have cold options for breakfast and also offer 2-3 hot options every morning...that was a nice surprise. There is a grassy area by the parking lot for pets (bring your own bag). The staff is pleasant, the price reasonable. They have a laundry, wi-fi and a small fitness room. It's very convenient to Corpus and within a mile are a Walmart, Walgreens, HEB, restaurants. I deducted one star because the bed is very firm (not my favorite mattress) but that's a personal preference.

We stayed 3 comfortable nights. The staff were extremely genuine and kind. The cleanliness of the hotel and rooms met the expectations within our budget. Breakfast was prepared individually and was very good. We had a pleasant stay and I couldn't thank the staff enough for their dedication and hard work, especially during this time.

NEVER EVER STAY HERE!!! I was in hotel alone with family in hospital out of town. There is terrible phone reception for my att phone-occasionally would get one bar. Phone in my room did not allow me to call out and front desk wouldn't connect calls to my room after 9:30pm. When I explained I want update from hospital they told me I could come down to the desk to make calls since my room phone was broken and cell reception sucks!!! I told them to connect calls to my room regardless of hour and they said they would but then when I received calls they could not figure out how to connect to my room. I stayed in my car in the parking lot with 4 bars on my phone for half of the night so I could get phone calls!!!!!!!!

Check towels one of the towels had strains on it,over all the employees were very helpful and friendly , I liked that they had sanitized the rooms and they have handtaizer by the check in countor and I will return to this hotel

No frills decor, but place was very clean with a nice and responsive hotel staff. Beds and chairs were not very comfortable as it felt like the springs were busted. No breakfast was served, but I feel this was still due to covid-19 restrictions that may have been in place.

Beds are super comfy! Breakfast is above average. Staff is friendly, helpful, caring and responds quickly to any problems. Very nice touch to have a free washer & dryer for the guests. Plenty of free parking. Pet friendly.....VERY pet friendly!

I had a Crew stay here when they were repairing a Power Plant. The Foreman and Crew complained several times of Vermin and smelly musty rooms. The staff said they would take care of it and never did.They were there for a week. Forman changed rooms twice with same issues. Toward the end of our stay the staff would just roll their eyes when they would show them pictures. I picked this hotel because it was the top rated near the Plant. Never again. At check out we found out the issue was moldy drapes. I have reported this property to Corporate

As a whole -hotle was nice staff friendly and accomadting.. Food was what you would expect- But it was fresh and hot, THere was an odor in our room-dog, hotel clerk gave ud a spray bottle to eliminate the odor.

Great place to stay, the rooms were very clean and the staff is very friendly and helpful. Will certainly stay here again. If you looking for a comfortable stay and at a reasonable price, Best Western Plus is the place to stay. You will no be disappointed. And even though I am a dog lover and but did not travel with my BFF, just nice to know that they allow pets at this location.

This is the 2nd time staying at this hotel with a not so good experience. Don't plan on sleeping in staff is very inconsiderate of noise in the mornings. Was woke up early with lots of noise from staff both morning

I stay at this hotel consistently for the past 10 years. It is constantly improving and getting BETTER with age and not worse. The staff go out of their way to make you welcome. One year, I had to limit my stay by one night. The deal I signed up for did not allow me to cancel, but because I was a regular at the hotel, they let me out of it.

I stay here more than 3x a month and feel at home when I check in. The front staff is so kind and helpful and always busy keeping the hotel clean and nice. The floors are redone and the rooms super clean. The early breakfast is varied but predictably good with hot eggs and sausage or bacon. The owner, KB, comes in often and checks on things and is very accommodating. They go above and beyond to make sure I'm happy. Thank you BW team.

I love to stay at Portland's Best Western. The front desk clerks are exemplary!!! They are so nice and accommodating. I stay here more than 3x a month. The only thing I wish is that they would PLEASE GET PILLOW TOPPERS FOR THEIR DOUBLE ROOMS. They could do one bed firm and one with a pillow topper. I have stayed in almost every room at this hotel and only one room has a memory foam mattress. I request this room every chance I can. But, this stay, it wasn't available and I brought my husband and we had a TERRIBLE fitful night on their FIRM bed!!! PLEASE get some mattress toppers for people that prefer soft beds!!!

Efficient, friendly service, comfortable room. Some noise from room above us. but only for short time. Breakfast was outstanding; good selection sndquality...better than other places we have stayed. Nice entrance decor. Check in and out was fast.

Reservation was wrong. Had to pay for an extra room. Then one of the rooms had live rolly polies and live beetles in the room. Also had stains on the chairs and pullout couch mattress. Will not stay there again!

I stayed at this hotel again on quick to to corpus Christie area. As my previous stay was real clean. The staff has is always a pleasure and the manager was very helpful with my rewards questions. For family, business or work I cant see going wrong this place it's been great

I have a dog, I love dogs. However, dog owners all have a different level of hygiene tolerance. The dogs are so thick here you can expect: from the front door entrance to the elevator to your bed spread: every square inch of this place has had dog pee on it! As you drift asleep, you'll wish you a had 2 in 1 Harts collar on!

I stayed for a few days in room 111 found room was very clean, staff i delt with were nice and helpful. Id definitely recommend this hotel to others without regret. They have one of the best pet policies that was very important my stay.

Stay here all the time to escape busy Corpus Christi. It is close to the north beach area as well as whatabuger field. Pool area is nice and clean. Overall very clean place which is most important to us.

We basically enjoyed our stay here. The hotel is clean, and furnishings are fine. Breakfast was pretty good, pretty standard. We loved the tiny but cute pool. It was a quick drive to Aransas Pass and pretty convenient to Port A unless there is a long line at the ferry. A few minor things marred the stay a bit but overall we were quite satisfied. There was not enough parking for guests the first night we were there (and we did not get back from dinner super late, maybe 10 pm). A second was that the hotel holds the entire amount of your anticipated charges (not just a deposit or your first night's charges) when you check in, which I found odd, and they finalize the charges before you check out. This would not have been a big deal, but we had some unrelated issues with our credit card and also had a gift card that needed to be applied, and so it took what seemed like a lot of extra steps to sort everything out.

A great place to stay while working in the area. This hotel is between the jobs I am working in and Corpus Christi. All amenities are nearby including a Starbucks and a Popeye fried chicken. At home on the road...

We were in town for a family reunion and this was the hotel everyone stayed at. Pros: nice resort-style pool with charcoal grill, great breakfast selection, friendly front desk staff, free washer/dryer. Cons: we stayed 3 nights and our room didn't get serviced once. By the end of the stay our trash was overflowing and our bathroom floor was all muddy from a beach trip. They seem to have a towel shortage because every day they took our towels but didn't replace them - we had to go and ask for a towel to shower. And one night they gave us a towel with a hole in it! The pillows are smaller than a standard pillow so it was hard to get comfortable. And worst of all this hotel needs to deal with the humidity! Our sheets and clothes were all damp by the end of our stay. Even the pages of my husband's book look like they got wet! It's very hard to feel clean when you can't get dry...

Stayed for 2 nights. The hotel is a good value for the money. They have free washers and dryers which helps when returning from beach trips with a lot of sand. The pool is medium sized and the light turns colors at night. The hotel is clean and the beds are comfortable. Extra discount rate if you're a member Free continental breakfast with a good selection.

Our room smelled like wet carpet. Strong mold smell! horrible!!! Pretty sure it was coming from the AC unit in the room. Beds weren't the best. Breakfast was great! Pool was great for the kids. Lobby smelled like an ashtray, probably because people are allowed to smoke at the main entrance. Pets are allowed, but the leash rule should be enforced. If you have breathing problems I would not recommend staying here.

This is one of my favorite places to stay. I love the aquarium in the clean and inviting lobby! The staff is wonderful, Everyone is friendly and helpful, the breakfast is outstanding, and the rooms are very clean and well maintained. I stay there every time I go to the Corpus Christi area.

I travel a lot with my business and when I find a great hotel - I stay with it. This is my 5th time staying at the Best Western Plus in Portland. And I have to say, nothing has changed. Same friendly staff - great service - clean room - and wonderful breakfast. The Owner Ed lives on the property and oversees things very well. It is nice to see things done right!

After staying at a horrible hotel in Refugio this was a great welcome surprise. The staff was very friendly. The beds were comfortable. They even helped me get a couple loads of free laundry done. Breakfast was amazing. If I ever come back I will be staying here.

Pro: On the positive side, the staff was, on the whole, friendly; my room was clean and had a refrigerator, coffeemaker, microwave oven, and a TV with a decent selection of cable channels; and the parking was free, in the hotel's parking lot. Cons: Upon arrival, the hotel smelled heavily of disinfectant/bleach, and my room, although clean, had a musty smell. One of the hotel attendants said the odor was, perhaps, attributable to the hotel being located near the ocean, a statement I question because other establishments in the area did not smell musty like the Northshore Inn. Also, although breakfast was included with the room price, on both occasions that I had the breakfast it was extremely disappointing. The scrambled eggs were dried out and, on each occasion. there was hardly any meat (bacon/sausage) or potatoes left. Perhaps the staff would have provided more upon request, but because I experienced this shortage two days in a row I can only attribute it to a lack of caring on the part of the staff. The walls of the rooms were thin, and you could hear noise from other rooms and the outside traffic from inside your room. Also, the hotel is located on an access road to Rte. 35, but it is not convenient to get to (you have to backtrack from Rte. 35 to the service road to reach the hotel). If I were to revisit the area, I would not stay here again.

Nice hotel. Helpful staff. Clean facilities, rooms, and amenities. Comfortable beds. Decent breakfast (but they needed picante salsa ;-) ). All in all I will definitely stay at this hotel next time in town!

One of the few places that had rooms open for the Rockport Film Festival, post Harvey. All and all it worked out, and was only 30mins away from Rockport. Hoping to make it back to the area before long.

I loved my stay. Great breakfast! They actually use real eggs! Was shocked and pleasantly surprised. Friendly staff. Overnight staff was great also. Asked for late night snack: cereal. She didn't hesitate to get us what we needed.

It was a nice room with several restaurants close by. Staff was friendly. Bed was not very comfortable so we didn't sleep well. Breakfast was ok, good variety. Eggs seemed bland & bacon thin but there were other options there.

Hotel was in a good location, rooms comfortable and management and staff were amazing..we felt like family. pool was nice, breakfast good. close to shopping, resturants and beach. would stay there again. I want to say thanks again to Maria and Diana for making our stay enjoyable.

The hotel was clean but it definitely needs some updating. The staff were very nice and the food at breakfast was good. Although it appeared that the amount of food prepared could have been more. Overall stay was good.

If you want a comfortable hotel room with good options this Best Western Plus is the place to be. Its location is not far from the beach and the hotel staff is nice. The walls are thick so you won't have to worry about noise.

This place was better-than-expected all the reviews were right the pool was amazing the breakfast was right on and the sleep was so great we didn't even want to wake up in the morning it's conveniently located next to a Walmart not that far away from an HEB and it's easy to get to Port A or Corpus

Not quite of the the same standards as most Best Western hotels. Considering the location and price, it is a decent place to stay. Smaller hotel, the room I stayed in is about ready for an update, at least new carpet. Plenty of parking, 15 minutes from downtown Corpus.

walls were a little thin- could hear people talking in other rooms, but the hotel was clean, roomy guest room with sofa. and desk/work area. free guest laundry! staff was very friendly. gave us some great info on local beach access,etc. breakfast was fresh and ready each morning.

Very clean and relaxing. The pool was clean and there is free laundry. It is pet friendly as well. Staff are very friendly. Close to Port Aransas and Corpus Christi metro. I will be staying here again.

clean place with a great pool. great location compared to Corpus. breakfast is over very promptly at 10am and there is a shortage of parking around 9:00pm. Booked early as possible and i am sure the rates would be way better. wait until the last minute and they are average at best. overall it was a nice stay.

We went in for the night, requested an early check in and as soon as I got there, my room was ready. The staff was very nice and attentive. Parking lot seemed a bit small. Luckily we came home late enough and found a parking spot. We set the air to 68 but it never got that cool. The room was a comfortable size.

Clean ,friendly ,peaceful place nice pool good breakfast the ac was perfect location access serval store and restrants parking was kind of tight from what I can tell you this is one of the Best Western I stayed at.

Staff are always friendly and helpful. Breakfast is consistently good and has real food not heat up everything. Pool and grounds are kept up and is a good location as far as distance from things to do without being in an extremely busy area. I would recommend this hotel to anyone. Not an overly "showy" hotel but priced well and very nice for the price.

This Best Western deserves 5 star rating. I have stayed all around the world but this hotel was the best hotel ever. All the employees from the front desk to housekeeping department deserves a pat on the back. Managment of the hotel was very careful as well. I will definitely stay here again and will recommend to everyone.

Checked in with wet sheets and blanket on both of our room beds. Booked 2 queen bed rooms Ask to be changed as we where leaving came back still wet and roaches everywhere and in the bed grossed us out

This BW has a very caring staff, even the housecleaning staff are nice. But what makes this BW Plus really nice is that it's close to Corpus but not having to pay the price to be in Corpus and close enough where you can spend the day at the beach in Port Aransas or a fishing trip to Rockport/Fulton. All the rooms are nice but try and get a suite. Breakfast is ok, could have a few more selections considering this is a BW Plus but the staff are great and very helpful.

The staff went out of their way to get us a room and to make our stay enjoyable, even when our reservations fell to reach the hotel. They were helpful, cheerful and everyone I met was always smiling . The breakfast that I had,was not your ordinary continental breakfast but the usual breakfast items were available. I had a Mexican casserole that was made from scratch and it sure was good. When I went to check out my reservation that I had made from the company web site had not been received and the hotel manager was on the phone with the corporate office for eternity, resolving the issue. The rooms were quite. even with the hi-way very close by, you heard very little traffic noise. Maybe I was extremely tired but I think I woke up in the same position that I was in when I went to sleep. This hotel and staff turned a possible bad stay into a good stay. For this they deserve a pat on the back. If you're traveling through the area and need a reasonable place to stay just drop in and you want be disappointed.

this is our second stay here , the first time was an extended stay while we were between homes . They allow dogs , and it is very convenient and extremely clean and the faces are all familiar and friendly , but the food is not up to par. It seems that the long time staff has become complacent and just cant be bothered with the breakfast area...there is no bread or jelly , no yoghurt..the potatoes were mushy and oily , the eggs were sloppy and the bacon out of the microwave....very dissapointing compared to our first stay here....not even chips and dip for happy hour anymore.

Lovely room, comfortable and clean. Quick service in the lobby. Didn't try the breakfast but dining area looked well stocked, clean and organized. Would definitely consider staying at this location again in the future.

Best rooms in town had everything very clean the bathrooms and tubs were amazing a large room and big mirror is a must and good lighting that what my husband like big bed with a lots of pillow..........

great Hotel, a bit pricy, but I also know its spring break and the prices always go up during the holiday. But I take my kids there each year and its nice to just get away. the staff are always friendly and very helpful

Nice hotel and extremely helpful staff. All staff members will go out of their way to assist in anything needed. Hotel was very clean. Rooms were nice and cleaning crew was very punctual making sure rooms needs were taken care of right away.

My room was spacious, clean and comfortable. The Happy Hour has a nice variety of beer and excellent food. The food at breakfast is fresh and delicious . This is a GREAT place to stay.... I highly recommend!

Upon arrival, the girl did not acknowledge my diamond level. When we got to our assigned room, it was not an ADA room as requested. So back down to the lobby where a young man took over, an re-assigned an ADA room. We then had to move to another room with no offer to assist us. The girl was playing with a nasty dog behind the front desk, not to welcomeing at checkin, rather distasteful.

I have stayed at the Portland location many times and it is always great. I have brought grandchildren and family. It is close to shopping and great for fishing trips. This location is always very clean and everyone is very helpful.

This is the best Best Western I have stayed in all the other ones were dumps.Nasty smell lots of domestic violence and loud noise in parking lot. This one is very clean and organized. The staff is very nice and always asking good morning evening,

excellent location close to beach and bayfront; quite and great pool; not far from local shopping malls and restaurants...no problem finding it, right over the beautiful harbor bridge and near lexington

The hotel staff made us feel right at home with their great attitudes and friendliness. The breakfast was delicous, and the lady working the breakfast bar was beyond nice. She gave us excellent service.

Made a trip to visit the fam in Ingleside/Fulton and this is by far the best option if you are bringing your pet. Since our family was in Fulton/Rockport area and we knew we were going to be in CC proper for dinner at least one night this location worked out extremely well. Even met the owner Ed while walking my yorkie and found out he decided to allow pets b/c he has dogs himself and knows it is hard to find places to take them. Front desk staff were very helpful with recommendations and allowing us to check in early. Breakfast was decent but realize you get what you pay for. If you want fancy go stay at the omni, if you want functional this is the place for you

We stayed her the last night of our trip. This was the nicest room of our whole trip. Cookies at check in desk. Room was very nice upscale. Little extras that are not in many hotels. Free laundry room, clean comfort. Full breakfast. Pool, hot tub. It's right off hwy but we didn't hear a thing. Decor is very nice. Even the elevator was golden. Front desk lady was very nice and very willing to help you with anything you might need. Just a great stay. If we are ever in the area I would go there in a heart beat.

My wife, daughter, and I stayed for a couple of days. We had no expectations but were blown away. The hotel is just a few miles from the Corpus Christi Aquarium but it is an easy few miles and there are plenty of shopping and dining places nearby. The front dest staff were all very friendly and went out of their way to make us comfortable. The breakfast was standard hotel breakfast, but was plentiful and very good. We have stayed at the Marriott, the Hilton, and the W, and this hotel is every bit as good as any of them. We will definitely be returning as our "go to" hotel when we visit Corpus Christi.

The staff was nice but no one stood out. The Pool was clean and everyone was enjoying it with out any problems. ROOM - There was an an alcoholic beverage left in the refrigerator, from the guest before us. I would have thought that the cleaning staff would have cleaned that out by the next guest. That was surprising. But other than that the room was clean. I totally forgot to report this. The blow dryer in the bathroom did not work, once you picked it up something inside it made a funny noise. I did report that to the front desk, as we checked out. BREAKFAST -During breakfast they had hot chocolate. Yum, so I pumped some hot water from the carafe, where the sign stated "Hot Water". Mixed my chocolate mix into the cup took a drink only to discover it was regular temperature water. It was disappointing but not that big of a deal.

If you are needing a hotel in the Corpus Christi area, the Best Western Plus Northshore Inn is by far superior to all others. The location is close to restaurants and the beach and the staff and facilities are top notch.

great customer service, pleasant stay, decent breakfast, only bad thing was the internet connection, maybe just a bad service day. Place was very clean but had an old smell to the place although my wife said it smelled new so that could just be a matte of opinion to others.

The breakfast there was A+, and so was the staff. Our room was quiet and clean. It was a nice trip,a the room was great. I would recommend this Best Western Motel to anyone. It was very nice. Great location too.

The woman at the counter went way over and above the call of duty to correct MY mistake. I wanted to check out a day early and gave them last minute notice. She talked with her manager and told me that if they could sell the room I wouldn't be charged the extra night. She called me a couple of hours later and said that they sold the room and I wouldn't be charged. Honest and Conscientious staff. I have NEVER had a bad experience with Best Western.

Working at a Best Western I know all the qualifications to be a plus. If this is suppose to be a plus then the standard BW that I work at should be a Premium.. Was told I couldn't use my points for a free nights stay unless I book saying I want to. We got put into a Handicap room. Which made showering a task because there was no drain outside the shower but that's where the water went.

great place to stay, convenient, clean, and staff very nice ! easy access on and off highway. I would highly recommend to anyone travel in this area, close to Port Aransas, Mustang Island is not far and Rockport has several nice places to eat.

From the outside, this hotel appears as any other does... accommodating for whatever your travel needs require. We were a traveling family of 4 with young children and the hotel was a great choice for the value and service we received. The front desk staff was extremely friendly and easy to work with. The hotel is clean and offers many things other hotels do not, including a fitness center, a business center and a hot breakfast served every morning for extremely convenient hours of 6am-10am. This hotel ALSO offers free washer and dryer for guests to use at their convenience. Overall for what we paid, the value was definitely there. I would definitely recommend.

Really Comfortable for any kind of stay.I was enjoyed every day of my stay.I am strongly prefer this hotel . because service and comfort will be same as the hotel name. No disappointments. Looking forward for my next stay.

Saw the reviews on this hotel before booking and they weren't wrong! Great hotel, large clean rooms with a separate "living area", comfortable bed, great breakfast and very friendly and helpful staff! Also right in the middle of the shopping and restaurant area. Can't go wrong staying here!

Best Western Plus in Portland, TX was a nice place to stay. Corpus Christi and Padre Island are very busy places, so if you don't mind staying a little further away and driving you can avoid the crowds and relax. I would recommend this place to anyone, but try to stay on the top floor to avoid loud walkers above you.

This hotel is a great place to stay but lacking in restaurants within walkiing distance. The ones that are close are very good. Staff is friendly and helpful. Breakfast is better than average. Happy hour is a nice touch. Quiet for the most part.

The Best Western Plus Northshore Inn, Portland, Texas is a very good choice/option for an overnight stay. My most recent stay was up to their usual accommodating standards. I was greeted by a cheerful check-in clerk. She acknowledged my Best Western Rewards status and was very knowledgeable when it came to processing my rewards certificates. I had a very clean, comfortable room and made sure I attended the hotel happy hour which included snacks and beverages. The hotel is in close proximity to a movie theater so I took in a show. I will make a point to check-in to the Northshore Inn the next time business carries me there.

Stayed here for one evening while attending a wedding. Staff was polite, room was clean and neatly presented, and generally a pleasant establishment. The only thing was the bed was a little too firm for my comfort and parking in the evening was a little packed. Other than that, a wonderful stay.

Overall this was a nice place to stay and one of my first picks for availability. Unfortunately there is only a very limited number of rooms that you can smoke in and I don't spend my money where I can't enjoy my comfort. The rooms are clean and comfortable, the staff friendly and efficient, and the location is near where my frequent job sites are located.

The owner and staff members are very friendly and bend over backwards to make your stay pleasant. The breakfast area is kept clean and has a wide selection to choose from. As an added afternoon treat, fresh-baked cookies are offered.

We were pressured to get home and decided to stop as the drive was longer and we were tired. Nice people great room, good coffee, hot shower, breakfast-good, great price, boss loved price. Truck parking, very, very important. Need more hotels with this important amenity. We as truck drivers, need a nice place to rest and get a good cup.

Outstanding stay from the friendly staff to homemade breakfast that included fresh eggs versus other hotels that use powder or frozen eggs. The hotel throughout was very clean and the room was most comfortable. I will most definitely stay here again.

Dog friendly impacts our travel in our home state, Texas, as we like to bring our small dog with us. We have family nearby and have stayed here before. A full breakfast, including protein, is also important. Two staff, Maria, who helped with breakfast, and Rashni, who is still helping us get credit for the booking, went out of their way for us. All staff were pleasant and helpful. We will stay here again and will tell others. Thanks!

We visit my grandson once a month and this is the best hotel I have found in the area. We had a minor issue with the sofa bed but the problem was addressed immediately and we could not have asked for anything more from the staff.

I enjoyed staying at the Best Western Plus in Portland. It was very comfortable. The most noticeable difference about this hotel is the cleanliness. When you walk into your room, the room is extremely clean and smells fresh. (You would think this is a given, but I've stayed at many upper-tier hotels where this is not the case.) I would highly recommend this hotel for your stay in Portland. It's great value!

All of the staff, from the front desk to the housekeeping, showed professionalism in a very positive and upbeat manner. Breakfast is phenomenal. Parking is adequate. Awesome pillows. Best Washer and Dryer use price. Happy Hour makes me happy. Less than a mile from Walmart, Academy, liquor store and movie theater and Starbucks. Walking distance to Restaurant and convenience store. Rajni is an awesome front desk clerk. Make sure you see her if you stay. Your dog can come too.

The owners and staff were SO friendly, we felt as if we were friends instead of guests, the rate was very fair and the breakfast food was delicious. We were extremely satisfied in all aspects of our stay!

I personally do not have much of anything bad to say about this hotel. Everyone was very nice and helpful. It was quiet. The bed was OK. Had a couple of crickets in the room, and I really hate them things! The continental breakfast was really nice. Wish there was a hot tub! All in all, a really nice place to stay. Easy to get to as well : )

Yes! Yes! Highly recommend this Best Western Plus. Service was excellent. Our room was lovely and EVERYTHING WORKED! Either new or recently renovated, the decor was tasteful, restful and oh so comfy. The usual warm, chewy cookies were there right on time and then they surprised us with "happy hour" treats and beverages. To top it off...a new popcorn machine! This location is an easy in and out from HWY 181 and so close to the water. All in all, a great place to stay.

The owner and staff always try to accommodate our needs. Breakfast is awesome! Each morning they serve a variety of foods that include homemade salsa to spice up your scrambled eggs and fried potatoes. We highly recommend the entire experience of our stay.

Room was spacious with kitchenette and desk space. Very clean and friendly people. Easy to find with great eating places near. Traffic was very noisy on service road all night. IHOP is across the interstate.

I was looking for a hotel in Portland, TX because I needed to do some work in Ingleside, the problem was that no hotel in Portland accepts the Corporate Lodging card, they went out of their way to help, they set up a Corporate Lodging account just for me!.....you guys are awesome!

The room overall was nice. The beds were very bouncy and I woke up with a backache each day. The shower is very slippery. There needs to be more regular tables available in the dining room. I have a 3 year old and both days we had to sit at the high table because that was all that was open. It was fine just very nerve wracking as a parent.

Very clean. Had daily breakfast. No complaints. The one thing is I could never find front desk staff at the front desk. I had to always look for them. The room was bigger than I expected. The swimming pool was great for the kiddos.

I think the title of the review says it all. Great people, wonderful staff. Everyone made us feel like we belonged there, and have on every stay. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for lodging in the Corpus Christi/North beach area. It beats the Radisson and Quality Inn across the bridge by a LONG shot, and is less expensive. I'm not the only one to discover this, so book your room early.
