The building is new and well kept, unlike anything else in this town. Minatitlan is about the ugliest and less appealing town I have visited in Mexico. The staff is not particularly attentive, but nice when you talk to them. The rooms are clean and new. There is no hot water in the shower, which is Ok when the temperature outside is 35, but when it rains and it gets cold, it would be nice with a warm shower. The bed is fine, but the 4 pillows are all very large and hard and even though I asked for a softer one that was apparently not possible. So now my neck hurts. The restaurant serves a nice Sopa Azteca (with lots of cheese and not much tortilla), but while they have a alot of seafood and shrimp dishes that look tasty on the card they don't actually make those - the water says that shrimp spoils too easily and thats why they don't cook those, which made me a little uneasy about how they handle food - in a fridge it should be possible to store shrimp a day or two. Overall the hotel is ok for the price (although note I paid half the advertised price because I booked over the internet), but I would reccomend staying in one of the surrounding towns.
