"Very nice. Close to airport."

Room well appointed. Microwave and frig. Cleaning staff friendly...good selection at breakfast. Jason at front desk very helpful when we had trouble printing our boarding pass. Close to airport. I have stayed there before.

"do not stay"

09/11/2018

this was the worst smelling hotel room I have ever stayed in. The carpets are so dirty I did not even want to leave my suitcase on the floor. The fridge is really old and loudly whistles. Add on the road noise and you will get a bad night sleep. The staff are nice

Dirty, unkept and in need of repair. Floors throughout the hotel were dirty and stained. Elevator floors needed mopping, hallway floor needed vacuum and room floor was stained and carpet raveling. Condition of floor made me question how clean rest of hotel was. Breakfast tables never wiped off and floors unclean in breakfast area.

Breakfast was top notch, pool area was nice, decor is nice, staff was very courteous, professional and helpful. The tub was painted and was chopping and the beds could be more comfortable! Overall a nice place to stay but on the pricey side

"Needs Some Sprucing UP"

29/10/2018

This is the second time we have stayed at this hotel. The desk clerk at check-in was perfunctory and not overly friendly. When arriving in the room, I noticed the bathroom had drywall mud or something similar that had splattered on the the walls by tub and toilet. This could easily been scraped off, touched up and painted over. We stayed for two days, and on the second day, we left the 'Please Clean Our Room,' tag on the door. We returned in the evening to find our room had not been cleaned. I called the front desk, the clerk said "Oh, those tags were ordered by mistake. Sorry." She offered to bring us up some clean towels. The breakfast is okay, but the way it it set-up everyone congregates in front of the waffles and it is hard to get to other things while people are in line making their waffles. When we checked out, the clerk asked me how our stay was. I said 'very average.' If this would have been me, I would have asked more questions. The clerk just looked at me and handed me a receipt. I doubt we will return to this hotel. It is in a good location and was convenient to where we had to go. The price is comparable with other hotels in the area. However, the employees I encountered seemed very complacent with status quo. To me this is a management issue and not an employee issue. No one is going above and beyond, in my opinion.

We got in late and the staff was super friendly and got us checked in quickly. The room was nice with a big comfortable king sized bed. The only problem was the toilet didn't flush. We called down to the front desk, and they said they would have maintenance look at it. We were up and it bright and early in the morning and by the time we wanted to check out (8-9am) they hadn't had a chance to look at it yet. So needless to say we never had a working toliet in our room. When I told the front desk again they quickly gave us a complimentary room for our next visit. That was nice but I would have enjoyed not going down to the loony to use the restroom.

Lindley K, General Manager at Best Western Plus Mesa, responded to this review
Thank you for your kind words regarding your check-in experience. I do apologize for not having a working toilet in your room. We look forward to your return stay, and hope that we can provide you with an all around exceptional experience this time! "Rooms are filthy"

1
26/10/2018

We recently attempted to stay at this hotel. Upon check in the lobby/dining area looked great. Parking not great. The issues started when we went to the room. It was filthy and not acceptable. We went down and the kind person at the desk gave us a new room on the completely opposite side. That room was even worst. We checked out. I even emailed manager and no response. Pictures say it all.

26/10/2018

We stayed here March of 2018 and found this hotel to be clean and accommodating. The breakfast was ample and the price was right. Easily accessible off the highway, which was a Big plus. Would recommend!

"Dirty and security concerns"

01/10/2018

Our bathroom was dirty at checkin as well as hallways. Hallways very dirty. Strong smell of smoke near stairwell. The stairwell door to the outside was broken and reported but never addressed, significant security concern. And we had police activity while there

Lindley K, General Manager at Best Western Plus Mesa, responded to this review

"Disappointing at best"

30/09/2018

Well, the price was right and first impression was good. But, rug in room is filthy. There was a pubic hair in the tub, the bathroom mirror had splatters from "tooth brushes past,"any thing that could collect dust had...top of ice bucket, tray it was on, lamp base, coffee brewer. Note pad next to bed had a couple splatters on top page, of what...blood? Food? A little creepy, as it did look like blood, was resolved by removing that top sheet. My husband and I have been on a 2 1/2 month road trip and have stayed at least 30 nights in various hotels. Holiday Inn Express and Best Western Plus are our choice hotels and we belong to both rewards clubs. Of all the hotels we have stayed in this trip the best was a Best Western Plus in Somers, MT and the worst is this Best Western Plus in Mesa. We still will have another 8 nights or so on the road, because of this experience I think I will go with Holiday Inn Express for the remainder. Also, a little disconcerting to me was the elevator had no certificates displayed as to when checked, etc. I realize that gave me a question about this place. Later I went in the other elevator which had a sign saying paperwork is in office. At very least, the other elevator should have had a sign like that posted. I've been too lazy to write reviews during this time. I see it's disappointment that moves me to send in a review. (Or something fabulous ie Best Western, Somers, MT and Holiday Inn Express, Spokane Valley, WA.

"Quiet and clean"

16/09/2018

We had a standard room king size bed. We arrived late but was greeted once we walked through the door. Desk clerk was courteous and friendly. We found this location via Expedia for $55.86 which was quite the bargain. We needed only one night so we could start our travels from this location in the morning. I chose to sleep in but my husband enjoyed their standard hotel breakfast. We will definately use this location again! Convenient to get in the highway and several late night places open for food.

"Good location"

29/08/2018

This Best Western is right off the freeway so you have great access to many places throughout Mesa and Gilbert. Movie theaters, restaurants and a lot shopping. It is a pretty quiet place to stay and the breakfast is really good.

The desk clerk was very squared away. The room was EXTREMELY Disgusting!!! Stained carpeting with one area looking like it had blood stains. Overall interior of the hotel was "Dirty." Would not recommend this place EVER!

"Good place to spend a night"

4
21/08/2018

I stay here on my way to Tucson, and it's a fine place to spend a night. But the location isn't immediately surrounded by much to do, or by restaurants or anything. If I were staying in the Phoenix area longer than one night, I would choose a place closer to attractions. But the rooms are very comfortable, the breakfast is excellent, and the staff is very friendly. I recommend.

"Good"

16/08/2018

The rooms are clean and the beds are comfortable. The pool was nice and my kids enjoyed it. Breakfast was good and had a good variety. Dont try to check in early they try to charge you an extra $25. The ice machines only worked on two floors.

"Overall it's nice"

4
06/08/2018

I killed a spider and the coffee pot had an old coffee pod , and the pool was cold. Breakfast was amazing. Beds were ok. Parking was good. I would stay again. We went for an overnight before the kids went back to school.

"Not worth the money"

4
01/08/2018

Strange location. Dirty carpets. Broken lamp, closet door and air conditioner in room. Not enough towels or toilet paper. Pool extremely hot (like a hot tub) and dirty. Water from pool all over lobby floor (slippery). Had to ask repeatedly for additional towels and toilet paper. Garbage cans inside and out were overflowing onto to ground/floor. Ice machine on our floor was broken. Overall not a good stay and not worth the money.

"Excellent breakfast, great location"

Great location to the Salt River and fishing at Theodore Roosevelt Lake. Breakfast is excellent, we enjoy that the hot choices vary by each day. We've stayed here 2 years in a row to go to the river. We'll continue to stay here every year we go to Mesa.

"They Need to Clean UP!"

2
21/07/2018

Pros: -Great location, -great little restaurant/ bar next door, -friendly and helpful staff, -nice clean lobby area, -hot jacuzzi, - a good continental breakfast that included hot food like bacon and eggs. -Air conditioning in the rooms worked well for the Arizona heat. -The second room we checked into was cleaner and everything worked. -Check in and check out where very easy. -Again, the staff was very friendly. Cons: the cleanliness of the hotel stopped at the lobby: -elevator floors were dirty, never saw them clean for the three days I was there -hallway carpet, second floor was gross, stained and unvacuumed - first room the tub had long black hairs all over it and the closet door was broken, swinging open and blocking us: Thankfully, they very quickly gave us another room. -All three days a growing trash pile of plastic bags from peoples rooms by the elevator door! Like really? Not one person could pick this up and throw it away? Every time I went to the elevator there it was. Gross. - they tell smokers to go out in front of the building to smoke, but they dont provide a place where people can dispose of their cigarettes when done so they use the planters, the overflowing trash cans, and the ground. Again, I didnt see them clean this up all three days. -finally, the most uncomfortable, hard mattresses. woke up in pain. They really need to step up the cleaning of their hotel.

We had to travel from Tucson to Gilbert/Mesa for my daughter's doctors appointment. We have king size beds and we all slept awesome. The staff was so accommodating when an extra doctors appointment was added that day so we wouldn't be back in time for check out but they worked with us. We have a few more doctors visits and will be staying here.

"Location, Location, Location"

13/07/2018

Very easy to find and a great value. High winds kept the pool from being available due to sand and palm leaves but is an unforeseen incident. We had a lot of baggage due to a 3 week extended trip and our double king room was quite crowded with the 3 of us. The rest of our family was next door to us even though they checked in 5 hours after we did. That was very nice and thoughtful of the staff who are very fast and friendly

"Not great"

2
06/07/2018

Frankly, I'm very surprised that this hotel gets such good ratings. It took us close to 40 minutes to check in. While the staff has thus far been very kind, the carpets look as if they've not been cleaned - ever. The bathtub is sort of clean. I just get the impression of entrenched grime.

"Jamie is amazing!"

5
02/07/2018

We've stayed at the Best Western location near Southern and Gilbert Road several times and the service has always been great. But the customer care we received with our most recent stay was outstanding. After checking out we realized we may have left a few items in our room. During a quick phone call to Jamie at the front desk, I mentioned my name and the situation, then let her know we were headed back to the hotel to check the room. After I hung up I realized I didn't give my room number or Best Western account so she could contact housekeeping to be on the lookout for our items as they cleaned. Yet when my husband walked into the lobby it was obvious Jamie's proactive approach to problem solving overcame the limited information I gave her. First, she looked up and addressed him by name, showing an attention to detail and customer focus often missed in high volume customer interactions. Next she let him know the items were found and where to go to pick them up. No waiting in line or searching the room. Within a matter of minutes we were back on the road. Jamie's level of professionalism and customer care were impressive. She mentioned she's from NYC. I'm not sure what brought her all the way from New York to Mesa AZ but she is a great ambassador for the Best Western brand.

"Great hotel"

Great hot breakfast, they had waffles, eggs, sausage, potatoes, cereal, fresh fruit, yogurts, muffins, granola bars, juices, and milk, the rooms were clean and the beds were comfortable. We will most definitely stay there again

"No concern for safety in bathrooms or injured customers!"

2
18/06/2018

This hotel started out okay, but the morning of checkout I took a bad fall while attempting to step into the shower. No grab bars, no anti-slip strips or bathmats around. The tub was super slippery (like there was oil in it). Fell backward and injured my ribs and back, etc. Reported this to the front desk (made a written report). Desk clerk signed and apologized and said the manager would be in touch the same day. Never heard a word from the Manager or anyone else from the hotel! BTW...the desk clerk said they DID have a few bathmats but you had to request them and also said that they were working on upgrading the bathrooms to include grab bars, etc. Uh...not acceptable! I have worked in the hotel industry in the past and this was a perfect example of extremely poor customer service/care and/or gross negligence on the part of the hotel!

13/06/2018

My aunt and I are from Upstate NY. Her son booked the hotel for us for one week May 26 thru June 2. The staff were wonderful. The breakfast was amazing. Lots of choices from biscuits and gravy , home fries, scrambled and boiled eggs, sausage patties and links, bacon, make your owwn waffles, muffins, bagels and more! The pool was nice and clean. Was nice to have washer and dryer which we did use. Rooms were nice and clean.placed as it was a little stained and outdated. Also the toilet handle was loose.. I would definitely stay here again.. The only thing I could say is that the carpeting could be ree

Clean hotel with a great staff. Bed was hard and the room could use some updating (water stains on the ceiling and bathroom needs updating). But for $60 on Southwest's website can be beat. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again for that price.

Very clean, quite, even though just off the freeway (though our room faced away from the road), nice location, clean outside pool, good breakfast except they ran out of hot sauce and would also have liked vegetarian sausage or vegi gravy. Staff was helpful when needed. Towels were a little small but definitely acceptable.

I can not express what a positive experience I had at Best Western Plus – Mesa. I held a Breast Cancer Survivor Conference at the hotel for 2 days. There were 13 women who are fighting cancer. The staff took such great care and showed so much kindness to our group. The amazing part is they were so kind, BEFORE they knew what our group was about. Even the guest speaker (who travels all over and talks in hotels weekly) commented on the kind service this staff provided. They made sure every need was met and went above to provide extra services to these ladies. Once example, is they opened a room up next to our conference room so they ladies could do an activity without moving the tables in our current room. Another example was when we were missing a cable for a projector (it was our projector and we just forgot to bring it). They heard we needed it and ran out and got the cord. Please express our gratitude to these amazing group of professionals.

This hotel was not what I expected as Best Western Plus. The hotel shares a parking with a strip mall and thats not good news. The staff was uneducated and even when showing them our diamond select card we did not receive a welcome pack now a room upgrade. The floor of the elevator was wet from guest walking from the pool straight to the elevator with wet clothing and feet, absolutely disgusting and dangerous. When this happens again and its late its not a big deal for the stuff to take a mop in their hands and clean it up a bit, we all know how to do that. The room had a king bed and a couch. It was not properly cleaned. Even the new clean remotes that best western has was dirty!!! I meant that is so easy to clean. The cleaning stuff needs a education on how to do a basic cleaning in a hotel room. It could be so much more inviting. The bathroom was horror and the tub was clogged and the water didn't run properly. Did not want to stay for breakfast. What can I say. I will not stay here again.

I have stayed at this location twice . The first was in February 2018 for 3 days with no issues . With that being said i decided to stay here again this time was for two night April 2018 5-7.I left the hotel On the 6 to take care of business that i was there for ,so i had placed the do not disturb sign on my door as i didn't need my room made up. When i returned that evening to my surprise my do not disturb sign had been removed and placed on the inside of the door .so as i entered i noticed my bed was made and fresh towels had been left ,however they did not clean the tub or sink ? Which was not an issue as i didnt want them in my room in the first place . As i started looking around i noticed a few things missing .I did bring this to the hotels attention only to be brushed off and told to write to corporate which has been done. If you stay here take all your belongings with you do not leave loose change or food of any sort ie chips ,cookies, (clearly my opinion ) apparently they don't pay there staff well enough that they have to steal from their guest . My entire point here is if you leave the do not disturb sign on your door .The staff shouldn't enter unless it's an ergent issue.the items taken were not a huge deal it's the point . Stealing is stealing no matter the size or quantity.

From the first greeting to the final goodbye the employees of this hotel were extremely friendly and helpful. I was impressed with the Housekeeping staff; they went out of their way to make sure everything in the room was clean and that I was happy with the job they did.

"Worst Customer Service"

1
02/04/2018

I called the hotel directly to make a reservation, while providing J.D. (front desk clerk) my best western reward member number I lost connection. I was driving through the mountains. I called back and the phone just rang, so I called back again. J.D. answered and I immediately apologized for the call dropping and reminded him that we had just spoken. He said " you just hung up on me." I laughed and explained again that I lost my signal. J.D. told me that he didn't have time to play games on the phone and not to waste his time. I thought he was joking, but quickly realized he was not. He went on to tell me that people call him all the time and hang up and he did not have time for me. I could not believe what I was hearing. I told him he needed to work on his customer service and again explained that I had lost my signal. He brushed me off and sighed heavily on the phone. I began giving him my reward number and he interrupted me. At this point, I am confused and frustrated as to why he is being so rude. I told J.D. that I would look elsewhere and no longer needed his help. I am not sure if he was having a bad night and decided to take it out on me, but his lack of customer service is unacceptable. Although this hotel was cheaper, I decided to pay more at another Best Western. Customer service speaks volumes and J.D. needs coaching before he loses more business for this hotel. I have been a BW member for a long time and I have never experienced anything like this before. I will never stay at this hotel.

"Comfortable, quiet, fridge & microwave that work :)"

28/03/2018

Pros: - Clean, quiet, comfortable beds - Good warm breakfast (although zero fruit available) - Front desk staff were very nice & efficient - the fridge & microwave in the room worked well - the window in the room was small so we could make the room dark for my child to sleep in. Cons - pool is definitely not heated (normally not a problem for us, but this was freezing) - AC was very loud - there isn't much within walking distance (although you can walk to a playground if you're traveling with kids).

"“It will be a long wait”"

24/03/2018

My family and I stayed at Best Western Mesa for my daughters cheer competition. I knew it was Spring Training so we knew what to expect. On our arrival date we walked in to a huge line and waited almost 20 minutes to check in. Jake was the only agent working on a Friday night when you knew the hotel was sold out. He did the best he could with the phone ringing non stop and at one point put a guest on hold and told us they will be on hold for a long time. At that point I couldn't blame him considering he was by himself. The lobby and breakfast area are gorgeous but rooms are very dated and in need of a big overhaul. Too bad they spent money on lobby and not in rooms. We enjoyed the big size king beds and slept comfortable. We will return again in the future when in the Mesa area.

"Okay hotel, doesn't meet "Plus" standards"

14/03/2018

This hotel was a mixed bag. Pros & cons below. PROS: - Comfortable bed - Nice TV - Fridge & microwave in room - Great loocation, just off a major highway, and a few miles north of downtown Gilbert - Room was quiet (we were on the top floor, so no one above us) CONS: - Room was not in great shape -- random, large marking on the wall that was sloppily covered up, bathroom had strange smell emanating from pipes every night - No towels in our bathroom upon check-in - Breakfast was free but not great - "Business center" had incredibly slow internet (full minutes to load pages), significant issues with printer. Spent 20+ minutes trying to print something; finally the front desk person had me email her what I wanted to be printed so she could print from her own printer (I appreciated this gesture, but it would not have been necessary had the business center computer & printer been in working order) - The vending machine gave me a sprite instead of a bottled water, though I clearly pressed the water button The cons were not necessarily "major" issues but were significant inconveniences that should not have occurred given the rate at this hotel and that it's designated as a Best Western Plus. I expect better from the Plus properties; this was a run-of-the-mill basic Best Western that charges high rates due to proximity to ball parks.

Good location...next to Native sports bar. Jake at the front desk was extremely helpful-gave us adjoining rooms away from the freeway side without being asked. We stayed at the beginning of spring training, so the price was higher than other times. Will stay again. They could use more signage.

"Not worth it!"

04/03/2018

I stayed here because it was a Best Western Plus. The Plus is supposed to be excellence above the average Best Western, but honestly this was probably one of the worst hotels I ever stayed in. While it's easy to find, parking is limited as it is shared with a restaurant and about five other businesses. You have to circle the parking lot until you find a spot. I made this reservation weeks ago, and upon check in they tell me the room I requested is not available. Why they neglected to tell me this when I booked was beyond me. So the guy at the desk, Jake, tells me he has to change my reservation to accommodate me. So I get top floor away from the elevator. I get there and my keys don't work. I notice immediately that the door is rattling, so I opened it without the key. I notice immediately this giant crack around the lock and chips of wood around it. I reported it to Jake, as well as the poor room condition, and he writes it down but responds with a "you can still close it though, right?" So I head back to my room. The sink and counters had toothpaste stains, carpet hadn't been vacuumed and there were toenail clippings on the bathroom floor. Of the two beds in the room, one had dark hair in it and stained sheets so I took the other bed. Only problem with that one was the mattress was too big for the frame so you can't sit on the edge or the bed tips. Furniture was cheap, chipped and it looked like someone had a fight in the room earlier. Between all that, my door didn't latch properly so I felt unsafe all night and therefore could not sleep well. It didn't help my door rattled everytime someone shut a door. After this stay and the things I heard about Mesa, I'm unsure I will return the area again. Do not stay at this hotel though.

"Why "plus"??"

03/03/2018

We found the hotel without a problem as it was right next to the freeway. Noise was not a problem. We asked for a room AWAY from the elevator or the top floor, and a no smoking room. We were given the keys to a room that backed up to the elevator and on the 3rd floor. We opened the door and I could smell the SMOKE. no way was I going to take that room. The staff were prompt in changing our room. But why call it plus? Didn't see it. Then there is the breakfast area. Only bar stool seating by the window and communal tables with bar stools. Who ever thought that was a good idea should take his or her mother there. I'd like to see her try to get up on one of those stools. They did have to sofas for seating, but not being used because who can hold a plate, cup of coffee, and a fork and knife. Not enough stupid stools either. Ok, enough about that. The room was quiet, but the water was running full force in the ice machine, I brought it to the attention of the front desk, they already knew. It was not attended to the two days we were there.

recently stayed here 4 nights while in mesa. reasonable rates, over all friendly/hardworking staff,..only real negatives.. wi/fi can be spotty and during busy times suggest hotel add another toaster for busy breakfast times.

"Really well run hotel!"

19/02/2018

I stayed here twice this month because it is so nice. When you come off the highway on south Gilbert it is on your right and not the easiest to see in a small mall. I would recommend better signage on the street. The front counter staff was incredible as was the housekeeping. Noise from the highway is non existent. They have a pool but too cold to swim. Breakfast was first class. Highly recommend. Did get complimentary upgrade as I do have BW status. There is no shortage of restaurants in the area.

"Handy location for Mesa wedding and Gilbert restaurants"

4
12/02/2018

This location by the 60 worked well for a Mesa weekend - 8 mile drive to a wedding at Stonebridge Manor and 2+ miles straight south to fun at Gilbert's Heritage District restaurants. The hotel staff helped us via phone to secure early check-in so we could get to the wedding on time. Our room was clean, quiet and comfortable with everything in working order. Breakfast was tasty and well presented with plenty of seating and a caring staff on duty. The property is safe and secure and the staff is energetic and welcoming.

"Nice Staff & Clean"

5
10/02/2018

We stayed for a few days...the staff was great, clean rooms and the pool was nice. Nice location too. Walking distance to local bar which is next door with a 10% discount when you show your key room and walking distance to other eating placing.

"Still uncertain about the "plus" ..."

3
06/02/2018

STRENGTHS: * convenient location to route 60 * pool area, while small, has nice jacuzzi, pool itself, covered tables, and sunning area * breakfast service was quite good * housekeeping and desk staff were terrific * ample parking * firm mattresses * strong wi-fi service in guestrooms and pool area * good personal items in room (shampoo, coffee, etc.) NEEDS ATTENTION * for God's sake, SHAMPOO THOSE CARPETS in both guestrooms and corridors * insure that guest rooms have refrigerators (my first one didn't) * replace the 1980's room furniture * install a hotel sign on busy Gilbert Road as hotel entrance is shared by shopping strip

"Room issues"

06/02/2018

Security latch was missing, no phone, they had no clue what to do about it. Room was right below main hotel A/C handling unit that cycled constantly, we must of made the front desk mad at us when we asked for a quiet room, will never do that again!!!!!!!!

With a great location right off the highway, this hotel should be on your short list in the area. Check in by Jake was swift and easy. The room was clean and quiet, just how I like it. Even though my window was on the highway side, I didn't hear any traffic noise at all. I also appreciate the desk in the room, as a professional, it was great to have a place to sit and work. The free breakfast was among the best I've had in recent memory; plenty of options hot or cold. Check out at the front desk was again quick and easy. I'll definitely be staying here again.

"Good Hotel Convenient Location"

4
18/01/2018

Very convenient location near interstate 60. Decent area but not upscale. Target is a mile down the road for miscellaneous. Had a 4th floor room facing freeway, which was somewhat hidden by tall nice eucalyptus trees. They really need to wash the windows. Sound could be heard but i could tune it out. I had a double queen room. It was nicely furnished and has a good size closet and nice size bath. Little desk for the laptop, small microwave and a larger than usual frig, which was nice to accommodate large bottles of mild and juice. Beds fine but i have slept on better. Sufficient lighting and lamps. Room is adequate in size but not extra large. Bedding and towels clean. Front desk personnel very friendly and helpful. Housekeepers same. I arrived at 3:00 and was told my room was ready but it was not. i waited for half hour. Breakfast is excellent, everything you could want, eggs, sausage and make your own waffles plus fruit and cereal and hash brown. Nice dining area. I brought two small dogs and there is a nice place to walk them in back. They charge extra for dogs not like La Quinta, which never charges. They were out of doggie bags on the holder in back when i came but they put more out the next day. They need to do a better job of scooping up the poop for the people who do not do it like they should. All in all though a good place for the price, especially for people coming right in off the freeway. A bit hard to find though, signage could be improved, use your navigator.

Excellent location and economical, but a positive experience ends there. Poor attitude and service from most staff, several issues with physical aspects of our guest room, including slow wifi, filthy carpet, non-working deadbolt and inoperable mini-refrigerator. Had to request a bath mat to avoid slipping in the tub/shower. Proximity to adjacent sports bar can be an issue on weekends. This facility has tremendous potential if managed properly.

There was no WiFi. The original room that we were given looked trashed. Beds unmade, garbage can not emptied. Moved did not have laundry service. "Christmas Visit"

27/12/2017

We are staying here a few days while we visit family in the Mesa Area. The location is great. Right off the AZ60 on Gilbert Rd. I couldn't give 5 stars since our room was not completely cleaned when we checked in. But the front desk remedied the situation right away and was very apologetic. The room was a nice size with a large bathroom and vanity area. The King size bed was very comfortable. We were at the end of the hallway so it was very quiet. The breakfasts here are great. You have a choice of eggs, sausage and potatoes as well as muffins, toasts and waffles. The hotel seemed to be sold out while we are here so there are a lot of people, but they kept the food well stocked and opened one of the conference rooms for extra seating. We will stay here again next time we are in town.

"Best Western Plus Noise!"

3
26/12/2017

I booked my room months in advance and asked for a quiet room. At night, the unceasing noise from the nearby highway came into the room like a tidal wave that kept me awake until early morning hours, when the noise abated somewhat. The management should either have declined my booking with explanation of pervasive noise, or provided me with a quiet room if they had one. As for good points, there was easy access off said highway, the staff were amiable, the room was spacious, the room lighting was good, the bed was comfortable, and the lobby provided hot coffee 24/7. There was also a modest "hot" breakfast (scrambled eggs, bad sausage, waffle). The bad consisted of incessant, pervasive highway noise, lack of a space to hang clothes or store baggage, the typically noisy individual room heating/AC unit rather than central with a thermostat, poor maintenance, refrigerators in some rooms but not others, and the tiniest soap bars I have ever seen in a hotel. Note, that guests with pets (accommodated for a fee) are supposed to be placed on floors 1 or 2, while those without pets on floors 3 or 4, so ask accordingly. Bottom line: if you are prudent, and not deaf, consider faring elsewhere.

When you get to your room you expect the basic things to be in working order. Refrigerator & hair dryer both were not in working order. Jake was on duty at the time and switch out both. Carpet in room was so dirty the bottom of my feet were black. Bathtub was stained and paint peeling around the shower. AC unit had pieces broken off. There was no hotel sign on the street so it was really hard to see the building.

Price/cost was very competitive, the carpet in lobby and hallways appeared old and soiled and the bathroom needs re-modeling. The king size bed was comfortable and there was no outside noise from the nearby 60 freeway. Overall, very comfortable, I usually stay at a Hilton product at three times the cost. It satisfied the need for sleeping and bathing.

While not up to the standard of the Williams BW Plus we stayed at later, BW Plus Mesa ticked all the boxes for us 4 Brits on a road trip. We chose it due to its proximity to the amazing CAF Museum at the historic Falcon Field local airport. (An easy 10min drive.) Plenty of parking and good access for all guests. Large rooms - I'm a light sleeper and would not have slept well in the room we were originally given. Road noise. It was changed without a fuss. Thanks guys. Good breakfast buffet. Excellent local pizza restaurant 20m from the entrance. (Good food & even better value. Not touristy / mainly local diners. We loved it.) The outdoor pool & hot tub were places to "chill" from the evening Arizona heat. I spent an informative & very enjoyable late-evening hour, chatting to a couple of guys attending an air-rifle competition, and another who'd had to leave hurricane-devastated Costa Rica. Big thanks guys - your Southern welcome & fascinating insights into parts of US life will be forever fond memories for my wife and me. We really enjoyed our 2 nights' stay here - so many happy memories. Big thanks to the splendid staff.

Best Western Plus Mesa is a great place to stay. The staff is friendly and helpful. the room is clean and comfortable, and the cost was just right. I paid for 2 nights, and the third night was free, as I had accumulated points, from a previous stay, at a Best Western, in Portugal. I enjoyed the fitness room and the delicious breakfast, free of charge, each morning. It is a great place for me to stay, as it is only 7 minutes from my son's house, in Gilbert, Arizona. Bravo! Keep up the good work!

Getting in and out of facility difficult. Parking is iffy. Fairly nice property; however, it is clear they do many things on the cheap and it glares when contrasted with the price paid. I will probably not stay at this location again. I have stayed at several Best Westerns and generally they all do better than this. A Motel 6 would have felt the same. Just did not feel safe.

This is a nice Hotel with easy access to where ever you're going. Staff is very friendly and helpful. It's just a little outdated and that's Okay as well, because the rooms are clean and well kept except the carpet. The carpet in our room was needing to be replaced. It was pretty dirty.

14/11/2017

We had a one night stay with a flight out early the next morning. The staff was courteous, focused on making our quick stay a pleasant one, and when we said we were leaving at 5:30am, they had a To-Go bag ready for us in the morning with breakfast items. The beds were fabulous and the hotel was clean and neat. Right off Rte. 60 which made it easy to get back on and head to the airport.

I found the BW Plus in Mesa, AZ to be a great, well above average, hotel, especially for the cost. My wife was with me and we were very comfortable and felt well taken care of. If you're looking for a hotel that won't "take you to the bank" and still provide a good product in a very good location, this is for you!

"Hot tub never works!"

2
13/11/2017

We have been staying at this hotel for the past 5 years and after this year I'm fairly confident we will be looking for another hotel from now on. Every time we have been there the hot tub has either been out of order or needed serviced and closed for a portion of the time that we have stayed there. The pool area is not kept up or cleaned and there are very seldom towels available. If there are towels they are the bath mat towels for getting out of the shower. We had 3 rooms and all of us had told housekeeping that they didn't need to clean our rooms the first day but we would like to have fresh towels to shower. None of us received towels and the housekeeper even mentioned that she just loaded fresh towels on her cart and would bring them in. We spend our entire vacation at the hotel and really look forward to spending a good portion of our time in the hot tub since we are traveling in from a cooler climate. The people at the front desk are nice enough but the problem is they tell you what you want to hear and don't do anything to address the issues. There was some type of confrontation outside at 3:45am between what appeared to be the lady at the front desk and a boyfriend/husband who was intoxicated. This broke out into yelling and screaming while a fight between 3 guys broke out. There was also a small child in the back of the truck crying that I'm assuming belonged to the lady from the front desk and the intoxicated individual. The rooms are nice and the breakfast is good but these other issues can't be overlooked. Especially since the hot tub issue has been going on for so long now. My advise to Best Western would be to spend the money needed to repair/replace it so it works the way it's suppose to of fill it in with concrete and don't advertise that you have one.

This is a nice hotel that has a few issues. The breakfast every morning is very nice & hot.The location is very nice. The beds & sheets were clean and comfortable. The issues were the two times I was there, there were no towels in the room.I had to request them both times. Also I had to request the bathroom vents cleaned. The vents were full of heavy lint.I had the same room both visits and I was told it was done but it wasn't.All in all a very clean hotel just communication between staff needs work.

Second visit was better than my first. Breakfast was good, but space is limited or at least I thought it was. They open up there meeting spaces to accommodate breakfast but didn't realize it until after the waiting for a space in a crowded lobby/lounge area. Beds were amazingly comfortable. Location is great near freeway and close enough to the Kino Aquatic Center were we were spending most of our time for water polo tournament. Pool and Jacuzzi were nice. Overall it's a nice hotel and many of the same faces from our previous stay still working for the hotel, which should say something.

"Nice People but Room Disappointing"

3
26/10/2017

The staff are always friendly and helpful. The breakfast was very good, the lobby is beautiful. The bed was comfortable, the air conditioner worked ok but it is one that's at the bottom of the window and can be heard going on and off though mostly white noise but something you will need to adjust to. We didn't hear much noise from neighboring rooms and we were at the end of the hall so not much noise from people in the halls. The TV selection was good. I did not have any trouble with connecting to the wifi, but it was annoying that everyday I had to sign in and fill out a survey over and over again. The pool was green and not useable and it would have been better to know that at check in than to find out when we went out to it. We were there 7 nights so for the first 4 days it was down but fixed on the 5th day. The hot tub was ok though not hot and the jets didn't work well but it could have been comfortable with simple things like being vacuumed. As I said the staff are very nice and I think they do their work wanting to do it right, just not sure if they've been trained to. The bathroom was clean but not as clean as it could be. The tub didn't drain properly and we didn't mention it to anyone because once we were out of the shower we were off to do our thing and we forgot. Then the next day we got in it would be slippery because it didn't drain properly. We had left the plug on the side of the tub and I'm sure it didn't drain correctly when they cleaned it so I think it would be helpful if the cleaning staff can recognize a problem and know when to contact the maintenance department. I really wanted to like this hotel more because the staff is so nice.

The property its self was nice with a huge lobby and nice sports bar. The staff was friendly and helpful. It is far away from Phoenix and Scottsdale, which was ok for me anyway. My room #307 was small, I'm not sure if all the rooms are this small as mine was all the way at the end of the hallway and tucked into a corner. The Hotel shares a parking lot with a strip mall which wasn't a big deal. I would give the property a 4 star and the room 3 stars

Edward, Good Morning and thank you for the 4 Star rating and review, I was very happy to hear that you liked the location and Native Sports Bar next door to us, and as to your room #307 is a One Queen bedroom this tends to be a little smaller and yes tucked in to the corner at the end of the hallway and are always very quite, We do have other lager rooms that can be requested in future stays, If I can assist you in making a reservation on your returner to Mesa please let me know I will be happy to help out. We stayed at this hotel for training. Veronica at check-in was very helpful, in finding the shortest route to training facility. All the staff in the hotel were very courteous. The only problem was on the morning of checkout. A gentleman, knocked on our door, and wanted to know if we were checking out because he need to clean the tub. We had our do not disturb sign up. Front desk was notified, were told the GM would be notified. That was the only down side.

This hotel was neither outstanding or a complete fail. I gave it two stars because of the fact that the hot tub wasn't working for the entire duration of our stay and the front desk staff seemed to care less about it. Poolside towels were provided for the rooms and only a couple of them. Rooms are cramped (2 queen room) but the beds were quite nice.

I stayed here on a business trip. The room was clean, quiet, and well equipped. The full, hot breakfast was worth the stay in itself. The staff was helpful and friendly. The pool is a larger pool than most in the area. Very decent size. They don't have a private parking lot with survellience, but only spaces in a common retail parking lot. I never could connect to the wifi. There was a strange process to open up google to get online??? All in all a good stay but its definitely good to get a discounted rate through Orbitz or Expedia because of the drawbacks.

We found a king room with a sitting area for $50 on hotels.com in late September. At that price, it was a bargain. The last "refresh" missed the bathroom, but that wasn't a serious problem. Good free breakfast, pretty pool--empty on a warm sunny afternoon-and best of all, absolutely quiet. The location is convenient to outdoor activities like Usery Mountain Park or the Salt River lakes.

My wife was bowling in an event nearby and this B/W was a perfect location. She was notified by the hotel that we could check between noon and 2 pm which was wonderful. Beds were comfortable, breakfast satisfactory and overall, we'd stay here again.

Pros: efficient front desk. gave us room on side of hotel we wanted.. Clean room with good size bathroom, desk for computer, and easy chair. Wifi was good. Breafast was good & was refilled quickly. Juice was very good. Our beds were comfortable. . Cons: Desk only had outlets, no USB ports. Kleenex box was almost empty with no extra box for replacement. Fridge needed defrosting - whole back of fridge was sheet of ice. Didn't have a lot of tables in breakfast area -had counter and bar stools. Need to go to another room for tables.

Staff was very welcoming and I had made the request for extra items for coffee in the room and she had items waiting for us at the front desk upon check in as she wasn't sure if the housekeeping had put that into our room. Went above and beyond and enjoyed our stay very much.

I stayed here with my boyfriend when we were going to do Salt River Tubing for the first time. Our room was small, but clean. Our air conditioner was in a corner sort of blocked by furniture so the room never got super cool, especially the bathroom. Our air conditioner was also extremely noisy. We did not complain as I don't feel we were in the room enough to. The people at the front desk were very friendly. We did call for extra towels and they were never brought to our room. A couple of weeks later, we did Salt River Tubing again, and stayed at a different hotel.

I only stayed for one night but in that one night, I would say this was the best hotel I have ever stayed at and I travel a lot for work. It is a very convenient location, right off the highway and close to the airport. I arrived in town around noon, very exhausted from traveling and Kiana at the front desk made my check in easy and fast. She was extremely friendly and quick to answer any questions I had. My room was clean, quiet and comfortable. At breakfast everything was hot and fresh. I was surprised to see the general manager greeting guests and making sure our needs were met. He also informed me about all the perks of your rewards program and had Kiana set me up with a membership at check out. You have a great team at this hotel and that is hard to come by these days. I will definitely stay here every time I am in town.

Let me first start out by saying that I don't fill out Surveys I feel they don't get to the right People but I do have to recognize Best Western Plus Mesa. I got a call on Saturday a full day before I arrived from the General Manager John Fewer who was very polite and very well spoken, he did ask if I had any request for the room or needed extra pillows before I arrived. I have to say this kind of service was a very big supersize coming from a Best Western! This now puts pursuer on the rest of the staff and stay to meet or exceed the General Manager's Vision. As I arrived to the hotel it is very convenient to the freeway and that's very nice. As I drive up to the hotel it seems to be very clean, I grab my bags and enter the hotel lobby, the lobby is very clean and smells very nice! I can see a few people using the computers as I wait to he helped I did arrive about 8:00PM the front desk agent was Brittany who was very professional and always had a smile on her face! She was very informative about the area and restaurants that I could order food from. As I entered the room again very surprised with the room it was very clean and smelled clean the bathroom was very nice and spacious, the bed was very comfortable and I got a great night sleep. Waking up and coming down to a very well appointed Breakfast was a very good start to my day! Mr. Fewer was back and greeting all guest and talking with each guest to see if they are enjoying the Hotel. Angela was super attentive and helpful in making sure that all the food was fresh and plenty for the guest to enjoy! This was truly a great Breakfast, I have to add as I was going to my room to get ready to check out the ladies in Housekeeping are all so friendly and one was singing and seemed very happy to be doing her job! Every one greeted me and has a smile and I can honestly say what a refreshing change to be in this environment. As I checked out Kiana helped me and asked if I enjoyed my stay and was very helpful in making the check out process easy. she also noticed that I was not a Best Western Rewards Member and was very excited to introduce me to the brand and what the benefits would be to sign up and start today! Kiana is a great last impression of the hotel as I leave. Later after getting to the Airport and recalling my trip I have to say the Hotel was the High Light for me! Every time I return to Mesa I will stay with all these Amazing individuals.

We arrived on a Sunday and left the following Friday. From check in to check out everyone was friendly and accomadating. We asked for extra towels and wash cloths they had someone run them up right away for us. We ate breakfast there every day and it had something for everyone. Coffee was delicious! Loved the pool especially toward evening. Would stay here again in a heartbeat without looking anywhere else unless you jack he rates up.

Terrific hotel especially when one considers the price. Very clean; the front desk staff go above and beyond. Extremely clean rooms. Couldn't ask for more. The rooms are extremely well kitted out with amenities: a microwave, a ref, a large flat screen tv, etc. I'm guessing around 300 square feet with two queen beds. Nice desk; nice sitting area. Great free breakfast in the morning with sausage and gravy, waffles, and lots of other goodies. I would be extremely fat if i stayed in this place too long, coz it's all so good. Lots of nice restaurants in the area, and the Native Grill is just to the right of the front door as you're walking out. Good place that also has take out. Highly recommended. Will stay again.

The tub/shower was disgusting! The fixtures on it were spotted and covered in soap scum. The metal soap dish in the shower had soap stuck in it. There was paint chipped off the top of the tub area as well as a lot of paint peeled off near the tub drain. The tub drain plug was broken and couldn't be used. There were no wash cloths at all in the room. The pillows were very uncomfortable, I didn't even use them because of it and as a result I had a stiff neck when I woke. The TV remote had sticky gooey substance on it, it was disgusting! There was no mattress pad on the bed!!! There was a fairly large stain on the mattress that showed through the sheet.

Excellent staff. The manager was great upon our arrival. We were checked in within 10 minutes. The breakfast was amazing. Over our 4 day stay, we had scrambled eggs, sausage, biscuits, gravy, bacon, potatoes, cereal, toast, fruit, muffins, sweet rolls, homemade waffles, cereal and plenty of juice. The hotel is clean and in well kept order. Our room was 416, king bed, couch and coffee table. Perfect for our group to hang out before heading to the Salt River Tubing and before dinner.

the room was awful. Vent covers we're laying on the floor when we got to the room. I tried to put them back, but they wouldn't fit. I propped the covers up and held them in place with decorative bed pillows, also blocking the hole in case of any nefarious things like cameras hidden in there. Also included in the room: broken lamp shades, a tub with the ceramic coating chipped off in many places, a toilet that didn't flush well, it enough outlets, and just a dirty, grimy feel overall. Will consider staying further from my destination next time to avoid this hotel.

"After two visit in two weeks I had to comment"

I travel about 8 months out of the year for work. I am away from home at least 3 to 4 days a week and have done so for over 30 years. When I find an exceptional establishment, I make a note of it for future reference. This Best Western Plus in Mesa, AZ is that kind of place. In an industry where hospitality and service are the product, Debbie, the front desk manager, and her staff get it at every turn. They go overboard to accommodate your every desire or needs. They seem to treat guests like visiting family and not just a customer. If my travels ever bring me back to Phoenix area whether it be for business or personal, I will be staying in this hotel. MAJ

I booked my room online and when I arrived at the hotel asked if there was a better rate available. The rude front desk lady told me that she could have saved me $20 a night if I would have called her direct. She then refused to discount my rate or offer me any comps! Also, the pool has bees around it all the time! I wouldn't recommend this hotel.

Jovana P, Public Relations Manager at Best Western Plus Mesa, responded to this review
Thank you for staying with us and leaving us a review. We apologize for the inconvenience you have experienced. This has been a great hotel to stay in. Matter of fact we stayed an extra night because of how much we enjoyed it. The breakfast is amazing! Staff is helpful. Rooms are nice. I recently stayed at a $175/night room hotel and this $50/night hotel blows that one out of the water.

We stayed here while house hunting. We got an awesome rate and we swayed by pretty good Trip Advisor reviews. Our room was clean and comfortable. The maids were very friendly and went out of their way to accommodate making up our room when it was convenient for us. The front desk attendants always wished us a good morning, a hello or an "Enjoy your day!" Not a five star hotel but a very good hotel for the rate we were charged. We would go out of our way to stay here again.

Nice hotel. Car parking not great, public area nothing remotely secure. But dont use restaurant next door - poor service, loud music, 12 meaningless TV's around the room, food very mediocre. Not somewhere to go for a quite meal after a days travelling.Sign displayed on door 'No Guns' An advert for some wacko that he wont get any opposition - just victims.

08/06/2017

This hotel was great. My granddaughter and I took a 13 day road trip from SC to CA, and we tried to find and stay at Best Western hotels (with 3 diamonds in AAA book) along the way. Every one we stayed in was clean, upgraded and the staff was courteous, pleasant and helpful. We weren't able to stay a few nights in a BW, but tried to find comparable. We stayed in a Marriott in Albuquerque that honestly was sub-par. Their lobby was gorgeous but the rooms were shabby and they charged a parking fee, and offered breakfast for a fee, and their rate was more than BW.

Was in the Mesa/Phoenix area for hiking. This was our pit stop location for 3 nights. Room was a little tight with 2 king beds due to luggage and backpacks, but beds were comfortable after long days of hiking. Room was overall clean, but bath had a few hair from previous guest or cleaning staff. Breakfast was OK, with the same items in most continental breakfasts. Would stay here again if I was in the area.

The hotel is in a pretty convenient location and it's a nicely maintained property. If you're traveling with a dog, it has a nice dog area around back near the pool. My dog appreciated the grass after traveling in AZ for a few days. The employees went above and beyond to take care of us and our dog. The property is decent, comfortable place to stay but the staff made it a great stay.

19/05/2017

We stayed for one night while passing through the Phoenix area. The rooms are spacious and comfortable with mini-fridge and microwave. The bed was great and the included breakfast was more than adequate. For the price we paid, it was a wonderful stay. The hotel has easy access to major roads, but the entrance is easy to miss because it is obscured by trees from the road. Even though it is next to a busy road, noise was not an issue.

"Hotel of choice in Phoenix area"

4
17/05/2017

2nd time staying in this hotel. There are less expensive choices but we chose to splurge for just 2 nights. Love, love, love the pool and hot tub. Even though it is near the freeway, the vegetation (and palm trees) make is seem like a desert oasis. The desk clerk was quite busy when we arrived but promised to leave the pool open a little later for us! Breakfast is varied from healthy options (fruit, yogurt, etc.) to more decadent (bacon, eggs, waffles mmmmmmmmm). Only slight issue was that housekeeping didn't get to our room until about 3:00 in the afternoon (the middle of nap time) so we didn't get fresh towels. Not really a problem as I'm sure some would have been provided if requested. Don't anticipate another trip to the area soon but will absolutely make this our home base if we do.

12/05/2017

Amazing manager and staff! I had eye surgery early in the morning and arrived at the hotel at 10:30 to see how early we could check in. The manager went ahead and let us check in early seeing that I had just had surgery and was in some pain. She gave my husband aspirin and asked how I was doing the following morning. One of the hotel staff saw my husband lose his dollar in the soda machine and went downstairs and brought him back a soda. Very good service! Comfy beds too!

10/05/2017

A place to enjoy a quiet and comfortable night sleep with plenty of pillows and refrigeration and a shower with plenty of hot water and super drainage. I was able to view three great movies on the complimentary HBO channel. There was a variety of other channels to view on a very generous size tv screen. The location was close to great shopping and yet with 30 minutes we were able to spend a lovely day at the Boyce Thompson Arboretum. As for breakfast, the scramble eggs did not seem genuine although the sausage was yummy. That's about all I could choose from as I'm trying to avoid all gluten. There was also a bowl of fresh fruit ready for grabbing.

Thank you for the feedback! I am glad you enjoyed the pillows and the shower. We look forward for you coming back soon!

"The only PLUS I found was how the motel triple billed my card creating a nightmare weekend"

1
08/05/2017

*1st Issue--I used Priceline to book and pay for 3 nights. The dates were changed without my knowledge. The Day Manager fixed the debacle quickly. *2nd Issue- There weren't any towels in my room. I had to make two requests & had to go down to the front desk to get 2 towels. No other linens were provided. *3rd Issue--I was disgusted by the very long black hair plastered to the shower tiles and in between the sheets. *4th issue -- When I returned at 6:30pm the 2nd day my room had not been cleaned but had been entered as evidenced by the light green microfiber cloth, that wasn't mine, that I found sitting on the bathroom counter. *5th Issue--I paid in full with Priceline but didn't have any concerns when I provided my credit card upon check-in. The 2nd day I was charged again by Best Western Plus for 3 nights. It was immediately corrected and credited back to my account. *6th Issue -- The next morning I discovered I had been charged two individual single night stays. When I called the front desk I was polite when I said "You've charged my credit card again." The clerk immediately became defensive and said repeatedly, "It wasn't me! I didn't do this." *7th Issue-- The GM called me on the 3rd day to say he got Priceline to issue me a credit for their charges and that when I checked out on Monday I would charged less than I had been charged because of all the issues. He also said the two previous charges I called about had been corrected & would be immediately credited back. *8th Issue--Instead of the promised credits for the erroneous charges, Best Western Plus charged me for 3 more nights maxing out my credit card. Now I couldn't work, pay any bills, or even buy something for dinner. *9th Issue --I called the front desk at 4:30 pm and spoke with the supervising night desk clerk. He rudely told there was nothing he could do about the charges as he terminated my call without saying "goodbye." *10th Issue-- As a result of the overcharges I now needed to book another night. I don't feel I should have to pay 33% more because I cannot pay online until all the erroneous charges have been reversed. *11th Issue-- In an attempt to salvage some of my workday I attempted to speak with the Supervising night front desk in person about not receiving any credits for the overcharges. He was extremely condescending and rude when I had said I didn't understand why this mess with my credit card was occurring when I had paid for my stay in advanced. In a very loud voice he angrily said "No, you haven't paid for anything. You've received all your credits. I confirmed it using an automated system." Completely embarrassed because other guests were in the lobby, I asked for his name and the GM's full name. He refused to provide more than first names. He refused to provide email or direct numbers for anyone above him. Then he told me to step aside because he "[couldn't] do anything for me and there were customers waiting!" *12th Issue--As I entered the lobby after I walked my service animals for their final constitution, the night supervisor desk clerk just stood at his post glaring at me, making me feel extremely uncomfortable. So not only was my entire work weekend shot; I couldn't pay bills on time resulting in additional fees & added embarassment of having to make arrangements; had to pay for unnecessary transportation services to return to motel rather than go on to work; but now I had no money so I went without dinner; I was embarassed and made uncomfortable by a supervising employee who does not consider me to be a customer or a valued guest. Additional observations -- this motel is not conveniently located other than right next to the freeway. There are no views worth seeing unless parking lots and freeways are your cup of tea! And yes, as a previous review wrote, constant vroom-vroom from Harleys in the parking lot can be heard along with the constant traffic noise that filters into my room somehow. I do not understand the "plus" at this motel. There is nothing special or different about it compared to just about every motel in Mesa. The Jacuzzi and small swimming pool are located between the 4-story motel building and the very noisy, car exhaust fumes-filled freeway, east of the pool area is a vacant parking lot with smelly dumpsters and on the west end is the doggie refuge area, making the recreation area anything but peaceful and enjoyable. In the evening this area is so poorly lit making it an unsafe environment for everyone. The continental breakfast is comparable to most motels as well. The only difference is they don't have any of those ridiculous signs prohibiting guests from taking food elsewhere to eat--somewhere other than the lobby!! There are a lot of restaurants 2-3 blocks either way on Gilbert Rd however, be extra cautious if you chose to walk, especially in designated crosswalks, because this is one of the worst traffic areas in the city. Handicap accessible. Not easy to licate as there aren't any street kevel signs and the sign on the building is too small as well. The sign over the covered lobby entrance cannot be seen from the street at all. GPS is the only way to find this motel. Not a good motel for kids for pool safety reasons and nothing for family entertainment near by. Not walkable. Not very clean. Shared parking lot is not maintained and has too many illegal items laying about. Not worth the aggravation. Definitely, keep your credit card tucked away or your vacation will be suddenly cut short or worse!

, General Manager at Best Western Plus Mesa, responded to this review
Thank you for your feedback. This is currently under review.

"Wedding Block Rooms"

2
07/05/2017

We had reserved several rooms for guests who were visiting for a wedding as the location was perfect for our needs. There were problems with the front desk when relatives called to make reservations as were not put into the block of rooms however they did receive the same rate. Upon check in families that had requested adjoining rooms were told they didn't have them and none available. It made it difficult for families with children as they could not be in separate rooms. Some guests were not given the welcome bags at check in. One guest upon checking in found there room had not been cleaned and had dirty towels hanging behind the door and beds looked as if people had been lying/napping on them. One guest found stains on the bed scarf and blood on the coverlet. Yes, the building is old and needs updating but not being clean is unacceptable. Breakfast was adequate with the usual cereals, pasties, waffles and eggs however they need to get bigger trash cans as it was crowded and trash was spilling all over. The kids enjoyed the pool especially as it was HOT! Overall not a great experience.

, General Manager at Best Western Plus Mesa, responded to this review
Thank you so much for the feedback. Please know that we have addressed these topics with our team and look forward to you coming back and trying us again. We are glad to hear that you enjoyed the pool.

"Great Customer Service"

3
07/05/2017

Despite not getting the room we booked initially we ended up getting a room with BW Plus and enjoyed our stay. The staff was nice and friendly. The restaurant next to use was a bonus so we didn't have to drive far to get dinner! This was our first time at this hotel because we usually stay at Marriott or Hilton hotels. When compared to these hotels I would say it was a 3 star, because some things in our room were not functioning and the layout to get to the swimming pool was a bit confusing. I had to ask for directions after walking around for a few minutes. But the service of the staff is what I will remember from this trip!

"Nice stay"

03/05/2017

I stayed here four nights while visiting family in Phoenix. Good location right by freeway, close to everywhere I wanted to go. I stayed during the week and it was nice and quiet except for the air conditioner was so loud it woke me up every time it came on. The next morning I told the front desk and within a half hour maintenance staff came and replaced it with a brand new one. Good move BW. Went to the breakfast once, decent selection and well stocked. The manager was out during breakfast chatting with guests. I like that. My room was recently remodeled nothing too fancy but it was clean and all the hot water I wanted. Relaxing, great staff, definitely recommend and will stay again.

Arrived at hotel late but had no problems checking in. Front desk staff was very friendly and had extra towels for us. We had a room with two king beds and we were able to fit a play pen in there for our grandson to sleep. Nice room size for the 5 of us. Breakfast was very good and lots to chose from. "Poor room conditions, mold"

1
26/04/2017

There was extensive mold growing on the carpet and carpet base. It appears that a small refrigerator within a cabinet had leaked. The refrigerator was frozen solid at the cooling element and was not cool at all. It appeared to have defrosted as the inside of the cabinet and the outside veneer and been waterlogged and was delaminating. We felt worse the more days we stayed until we were having respiratory problems. Headaches coughing throughout the night etc. On the fourth day we discovered the mold was growing behind the cabinet and along the carpet base and was covered for about six feet. We took pictures to show the front desk attendant and requested a room change, which was accomplished. Early the next morning, departure day, we discovered we had left an item of clothing in the original room. To my astonishment we were told the room had been rented and it was too early to ask to retrieve the item. My shock is not the hour but the health risk the hotel put the new customer in by renting the room knowing of the mold issue. Additionally early on morning two we found that we had no bath towels. I had to catch a cleaning staff in the hallway to request some. They told me they only had one on the cart and would bring another back, which they never did. A half hour or more later I went to search for a towel for my wife and found another staff member just across the hall who reluctantly gave me the second one. She asked if there was anything else we needed and my response was "Not at this time". Somehow that was interpreted as we did not want a cleaning service that day. The next morning my wife discovered that her shower cap, which she had hung on the shower curtain rod was missing. The room was also poorly cleaned when we first arrived but relation to the mold these were somewhat minor issues just simply poor service.

The hotel is not the cleanest or in the greatest of shape. You will find rugs that are aged, along with walls, room, doors, fixtures that are broke or older but it is a great place to stay. When we stay at a hotel we are looking for several things. A quiet restful sleep which you will get here. The room was near the entrance on 2nd floor facing the front. It was quiet inside and out. The breakfast in the morning does get a little tedious since it doesn't change much and doesn't include fruit. It is a good hot meal with eggs, sausage, biscuits, gravy, do it yourself waffles, juices, coffee, yogurts and pastries. Well stocked and kept clean. Limited on seating. TIP: Try to eat early and it is a little less hectic down there. They give little things during the day like a popcorn machine, lemonade and some cookies occasionally at the front desk. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. Computer station with 3 PCs with windows and a printer work well for any boarding pass printouts or homework that may need to be done. Housekeeping did a great job with a clean room everyday of our stay to come back to. One day over the weekend they ran short on towels but we had some more by the evening for showers. You can tell management is there to please and they came around occasionally to see and ask if everything is going OK. Eager to hop on anything you request. The pool is nice - a little shallow but long enough to get your laps in. Clean and not over chlorinated. The hot tub is warm and clean but the jets are low and give a little comfort after a long day. A little noisy from rush hour car traffic but what can you do. They also allow smoking around the pool which we just moved away a bit. TIP: They try to keep few towels out so you may have to ask the desk for some but they always responded to a request and had them out by the pool in few minutes. Had to avoid swimming later in the evening and the hot tub due to wild little kids and not the most attentive parents but what can you do. We did have some nice relaxing swims a few of the nights. Access cards are undependable. If you stay multiple nights you may need to have them recharge them to work. We got locked out of our room and by the pool a couple of times and had to go out outer gate and walk around a couple of times when swimming. Parking is good. We parked a lot on the side. It is in a quiet strip mall so there is plenty of free parking. A little tricky puling our of parking lot but they time the lights well and is pretty easy to get in an out. They have some small to go bags of water, fruit, and granola bar. They were out of them when we left at 5:30AM but the great receptionist graciously made some more for our long plane trip. Overall a great value and place to stay for about a week.

"One of the Best "Best Westerns""

Really clean rooms, complimentary breakfast and wifi. The staff is super friendly! For the price, I thought it was a great value. I switched check-in times and extended my stay. The staff was super accommodating, especially when I locked myself out of my room! The breakfast was actually one of the best complimentary hotel breakfasts I've ever had. Waffle-makers, cereals, muffins, toasts, jams, fruit, coffee, juices, yogurt & granola bar, and hot meals that switched daily. I got some nice sausage & scrambled eggs one day, biscuits and gravy the next. Nothing gourmet, and exactly what you need to start your day.

Nice clean, recently remodeled room although the carpet could use a cleaning. Comfy bed. All the hot water I wanted. The staff are friendly and attentive. Manager goes out and does the meet and greet during breakfast. I liked that. I had a problem with the a/c. Went to the front the next morning and within 30 minutes the maintenance staff came and replaced the whole unit. Good job BW.

Employees were the best, pool was very small for the amount of people you house. Phone in room was broken for the 7 day stay. I would try another Best Western before going to this one. Pictures on the website lie about the size of the pool.

11/04/2017

Hotel parking is very clean & located near freeway is a plus! Check in was nice & easy & my room was very clean...hallways elevators were kept clean @ all times. The hotel was quiet, so got a really good night sleep. The breakfast food was over the top great..so great that I even saved some of their savory potatoes to warm up later & made a great hot snack. The quality of the food was very good i would return just for the food. The quiet quaint dining room are was very clean and chairs and tables were not noisy on the floor to use! The airline lost my luggage so the front desk gave me a care kitto use in the morning & called me on the cell phone when the luggage was found to let me know the luggage would be waiting for me behind the counter after my conference. I was going to stay @ Marriott Mesa b/c of the location being Mesa but instead found this Best Western for half the price so i booked i and I am so glad that I did stay @ Best Western.... I saved $140.00 total & had a great night sleep some great breakfast & I felt safe on the property @ all times since I traveled alone as a woman I look @ all the details before booking hotels This is a Great Choice 4 the price! Thank you Best Western!!!

"Friendly staff and competitive rates make this average BW a good choice"

3
10/04/2017

If you don't care to impress or entertain or if you ae just looking for an affordable place to sleep, this is your hotel and BW would be your chain of choice. The hotel staff are very friendly which makes up for the rest of the mostly average hotel experience. My son and I were in town for a boys golf weekend and wasn't looking to spend a lot of money on Resort Living so we decided to stay at the BW in Mesa. Goods location to where we wanted to be and close to great dining too. While this is just an average lower cost hotel, I would stay there again because the hotel staff was so friendly.

Chris S, General Manager at BEST WESTERN PLUS Mesa, responded to this review
Thanks so much for your kind review. I am glad our staff performed to your expectation. Thanks for choosing the Best Western Plus in Mesa and we look forward to serving you in the future.

"Lack of housekeeping is a disgrace "

1
08/04/2017

We are 9 days into a 12 day stay at this hotel and if I didn't have so much luggage and 2 kids I would have checked out by now. The staff are lovely but completely unable to commit to any action. So far our room has not been serviced on 3 days. Day 1 I was offered $10 refund. Day 2, housekeeping had entered the room, left their spray behind and our door ajar ... but unserviced..... much to my disgust as their are no safety deposit boxes in the room too. I complained to the manager but then again the next day our room was not serviced. I spoke to housekeeping at 2pm when we returned and was assured they would attend to it after I took clean towels. But surprise surprise we return to an unserviced room again. So we now have 2 days of trash, 2 days of wet towels and beds unchanged for 9 days. But the staff remain apologetic and happy!! Fingers crossed we have some luck tomorow. So in short, nice hotel, good location, friendly staff... but only stay 1 night so you won't need housekeeping. A big let down for a brand I favour when travelling

Chris S, General Manager at BEST WESTERN PLUS Mesa, responded to this review
I sincerely apologize for the lack of housekeeping attention. I will follow up today with housekeeping to see what the issue is and get it resolved. Thanks for bringing this to my attention. We kind improve if we don't know.

My family and I love staying here. We would recommend anyone to stay here. The staff is excellent and the location is perfect. There are plenty of places to eat and a couple malls not too far. Overall our favorite Hotel we've stayed at in the area.

20/11/2016

Overall great stay, great service. Rooms is as stated during check in. Customer service was top notch and breakfast was outstanding. Rooms were clean and hotel overall was a clean facility. Would recommend to everyone for an enjoyable stay.

"Not the best"

3
19/11/2016

Given a room on the top floor. Room was ok, comfortable bed. The room a/c unit was very noisy and there was a unit on the roof which buzzed all night and water that occasionally dripped through the ceiling onto the couch which had made a stain. Overnight an odour built up in the bathroom. Breakfast was just about ok. The hot tub in the pool area had mess in the bottom which may have been from the trees surrounding the area. Whilst convenient for getting around the area wasn't the best.

"Nice hotel with all the amenitites"

4
18/11/2016

Very nice hotel with the exception of the A/C which sounded like a truck starting up when the condensor kicked on and the jets in the hot tub were not working. Besides those 2 things, the breakfast was good, pool was nice and the room was well stocked (shampoo AND conditioner) and clean.

"Great Hospitality and Service"

4
15/11/2016

The hotel staff were attentive to my needs, and worked with me to get my needs taken care of. The breakfast was outstanding, with plenty of choices. The only drawback was the comfort of the bed. I tried to get extra pillows for my wife, who needs to sleep propped up due to acid reflux, but they didn't have any extra pillows.

"Convenient & Good Value"

4
09/11/2016

This property is convenient to Hwy 60 & next door to a Native Grill. I've stayed at this BW several times when down in the Valley. The check-in always fast and the staff very pleasant. The room was clean. The breakfast was good; a variety from scrambled eggs & bacon (or sausage) to Belgian waffles to breads/pastries. The coffee got my day started just right. The beds are a little too soft for my liking. More attention could have been paid to sweeping the elevator floors & exits from the elevators as there was same trash/debris for two days. Overall, this property is a good value.

"not super, but ok-ish"

3
07/11/2016

there was a sticker and hair in the shower. the sink backed up when we brushed our teeth...seemed fixed in the morning though? found shoes under the ottoman...cleaning could be improved upon for sure! The breakfast: I liked the sausage, the kids thought it was spicy. potatoes were blah. no waffles, though there were two makers on the counter...No bagels even though there was cream cheese put out to use (there was nothing to put it on? unless people put it on regular bread?). There were muffins, lots of muffins, a few toast choices, scrambled eggs. light yogurt only (I am not a fan of light yogurt/fake sugar) and a couple cereal choices as well. Overall, it was a little of a let down. But I was too tired to complain, this being the last leg of our trip. Staff was friendly though! Another bummer was outside, there was a bunch of smoking singles? at a local club? Once inside it wasn't an issue. So I would say, not super, but ok-ish. Wished it were better though.

"Relaxing Stay"

4
07/11/2016

This hotel was clean and staff was friendly. Would recommend. It's family friendly but still good for adults who are traveling without kids. Room was nice the only issue I had was with getting in to the internet. Was a little difficult.

"A Great place to stay in Mesa, AZ"

4
05/11/2016

The hotel was overall a great place to stay! The Breakfast in the morning was however cold, and the person who managed the food didn't appear to care! If something ragout, then the food was not replaced. It was just left empty. The pool, and jacuzzi was nice and the staff was very friendly! We would stay at this hotel again when in Mesa.

"Location Was Great"

4
31/10/2016

The check in staff was great and helped me locate local business to get my work done. He had great skills in dealing with tiered grumpy road guys. The Breakfast hit the spot, The area was bright and clean. Free News Papers

"Great location, good hot breakfast"

3
24/10/2016

Breakfast was nice, very crowded in the dining area. Pool was small but fine, not very many people used it while we were there. Outside tables were dirty and they were constantly out of pool towels. Room was fair clean, deep cleaning needs to be done (corners and baseboards of the bathroom were discussing). Otherwise, an average place

"overall very good stay"

4
16/10/2016

Very happy with our stay at this BWPlus. Room comfortable. Quiet. Good Price. Fridge didn't feel cold, so they promptly replaced when called. Staff very attentive. Breakfast substantial. Pool area nice enough. Hotel clean overall appearance, and good location. Good Value for us.

"Hotels never learn"

3
12/10/2016

I have to confess that I am a rewards member. Overall I am satisfied with my stay at this property. Location was well placed for our purpose this time and the breakfast was plentiful and the staff friendly and helpful. But, when checked in we noticed that a towel was missing from the usual four provided. We found it hanging behind the door. Ugh. How much cleaning was done? Secondly, but too me very important, was the condition of the carpet. When the hallway carpet is cleaner than the room carpet we have a problem. But, did we complain? No. Would they shampoo the carpet during our stay? We will never know but hotels in general, don't get it. The floors should ALL be tile. Easily maintained and cleaned. But that is just us.

"Great hotel & stay."

09/10/2016

Room was very clean, nice layout, excellent staff and the breakfast was terrific. The bed was extremely comfortable and hotel had a lovely pool area. Very pleasant stay and will stay in a Best Western hotel again soon.

The Best deal in town for the money. Friendly atmosphere and great rooms with comfy beds and plenty of pillows.. good TV's that work and the breakfast is HUGE... Choices of Waffles, Pancakes, Eggs, Yogurt, mixed nuts, and on and on.

"Great value and convenient "

01/10/2016

This hotel is a great value. Very courteous front desk staff. Fantastic breakfast self serve but hearty. Added bonus right next store is a fun Sports bar and grill with filthy fried egg burger. It is Native's. It is close to two of my step daughters and son in law. We will be back!

"Clean, Quiet & Friendly"

29/09/2016

After reading some negative reviews, I was concerned about the cleanliness of the room. We found it to be very clean. It also smelled fresh. The AC was did not clunk or rattle during the night. We didn't try the breakfast as we had yearly physicals the next morning with fasting blood tests. Check-in was friendly and fast. We were on the back side of the hotel, so we didn't notice any noise even though we were very close to the freeway. Beds were a tad bit hard for us because we are used to memory foam. Good option for the price.

"WOW!"

5
29/09/2016

I was pleasantly surprised when I walked in the Best Western Plus! It was as nice as walking into a 5 Star hotel. Everything, from the employees to the lobby to our room, was fantastic. We didn't take advantage of the internet WiFi, room service, or Express Check-out, but was aware that it was being offered free. However, when we did check out, we were offered a "Take & Go" brown paper bag. When we opened our bags we found an apple, an orange, a granola bar, & a bottled water. How very kind to offer.

"Different Hotel"

24/09/2016

I always stay at Hampton Inns, but tried Best western. It was half the cost of a hotel stay at Hampton Inn. It was very good I would stay again and consider looking at Best westerns Hotels in the future.

"Road trip stay"

21/09/2016

Location just right for this trip. The real problem with staying at BW is the unsafe condition of the shower facilities. Soap trays falling off wall and slippery bottom, non -slip surface "NOT". Breakfast great as usual. close to areas we were going to visit.

"Worth your money."

5
14/09/2016

I picked this one due to the location. I stayed there only 1 night for business trip. Very safe and quite area. A lot of free parking. I checked in late and the staff gave me a room as I requested online. The room is clean, no odor smell and both queen size beds was pretty comfort. Small issue: The water in shower was too hot, we had to take a shower by using the bucket with some ice to make the water cooler. I saw the swimming pool is very clean but I did not use it. The Staff was very friendly and helpful. The hot breakfast is very good & more than enough. I like this hotel very much.

"Seriously moldy bathroom; flickering ceiling light fixture that could not be shut off"

1
13/09/2016

Only one person on duty when I arrived late, so I had to move myself and all my heavy luggage to a new room after discovering the mold. After unpacking again in the 2nd room and trying to turn out the lights to sleep, discovered that the ceiling light fixture flickered on & off every 3 seconds. Too tired to move all my stuff again. When I asked for concession in the morning, Manager refused to do anything because I bought my ticket through Expedia.

"good hotel good price"

12/09/2016

Staff was great. Food was not bad. I found 2 crickets in the bathroom. AC was not working but it did the job and i did report it. Im used to having my AC at home at 72 degrees all the time. Hotel & room was very clean. There is a bar and grill next door and i didnt hear any noise. Bed was a bit hard but my husband slept like a baby. To each his own :) Will definitely stay here again.

"Leisure"

09/09/2016

Very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was great, LOVED THE VERY COMFORTABLE KINGSIZED BED. PERFECT room size with a couch Used the Executive desk chair a lot and liked the tall TV cabinet with the microwave in it. No neck straining! Mirrored closet door appreciated. Entire room and bath was CONVIENTELY ARRANGED AND SUPPLIED.

"I have to stay at this hotel a lot sometimes to visit my daughter even though I'm not always satisfied with my visit."

28/08/2016

Today the Linens have not been changed from the previous occupant. They were full of hair and blood and dirt and disgusting. When I called you and asked for the sheets to be able to be changed I was told that maintenance could bring me up a new set. I did not even get an apology or anything. Maintenance brought up my sheets crumpled up in a ball and I had to remake the bed myself. The bathroom doesn't really look any cleaner. The floor has been swept there was shavings from where someone has sharpened their makeup. But at least the room is cool tonight most of the time when I say it is so hot I can't sleep and fans are only available for the staff at least that is what I am told when I called the front desk.

"What a rat hole!"

24/08/2016

We spent last night at the Mesa Best Western. I will not stay here again. Check in took rather long for no one else in line but me. Painfully slow. I would rather stay in a filthy truckstop or even the janitorial closet. Either of which are much cleaner than this place. The bed had hard crusties in between the sheets. I thought it best to change to the other bed. It too had hard crusties. They looked like dried rice. Maybe maggots. I dunno. The iron kept spitting out hard crusties onto my shirt that I was trying to get ready for the next day. There was hair in the bed sheets; the tub; the bathroom vanity. The soap dish on the bathroom vanity was filled with old soap. It did not look like it was even tried to wipe out. The soap dish in the shower was the same. Not all of the towels looked as tho they were questionable. None were obviously soiled, but with the poor folding - it caused me to wonder if they had been washed or not. There were stains on the vinyl desk chair that looked like they had been there awhile. Had I eaten of the complementary breakfast, who knows what kind of hazards would await me in the doctors office. With such filth in the room - I can only imagine what the "kitchen" would have looked like. Both of us were scared to eat in the place. Fortunately, we were wise not to, and we could complete our day of work. Without a sick call half way through. The only redeeming characteristic of this hotel was that it was quiet. Fortunately, most of the drug deals that go on here are peaceful, so gun shots in this part of the old west are rare. I am perplexed as to why my company did not put us up at the Hilton that we usually stay at just 3 miles west of this property. It is a decent hotel.

We received great service, the staff was friendly and the hotel is located right off the freeway and close to anything you could need. The outside as well as the inside is well maintained. The room was clean and comfortable. We enjoyed the fitness room and the breakfast. If we return to Arizona we will be sure to stay at this Best Western...very good prices!

15/08/2016

First and only choice on this trip was Best Western Plus. Wonderful hotel with very friendly, polite and professional staff. Room was very nice and extremely comfortable. Very clean...(although the bath tub did drain a little slow....not a big deal!) I have to come back into the area in a couple of weeks. Will be making my res'v here! Thought the rate was very reasonable!

11/08/2016

The stay here was very pleasant. Wonderful staff who understand the meaning of customer service. Any request and/or issue was immediately addressed. The morning buffet I is small, but satisfying, and was a bit different each morning we were there, so the variety was appreciated. Rooms are clean and comfortable.

"You get what you pay for"

2
09/08/2016

First of all, I don't usually do reviews. But we were so unhappy with this hotel I felt I needed to say something. This hotel was available for such a low price but sometimes you get what you pay for. We decided to stay at this hotel due to the low cost and it had fairly good reviews. Upon arrival to our room, we were greeted with a very stale smell. There was a hole in the bathroom wall, blood on the side of the toilet and hair in the bathtub. The A/C unit was extremely loud and when it turned off it made a large banging sound. The off ramp was right outside our room and you could hear cars all night long. We asked to move to a new room the next night and we were given a new room without question. However, when we went to the new room, the door was open and things were half way made up. The A/C was covered in dust/mud/dirt.

Great hotel. Very friendly and nice staff. Room was clean and decent. Comfortable bed. Great prices, affordable. Close to many attractions visited, as well as family & friends. Unable to try food and pool. But overall great experience!

"Not up to standard"

1
30/07/2016

Although not very expensive, I would not recommend this hotel The rooms were dirty, the carpet was so dirty anmd stained that you needed to keep your shoes on. The furniture was all scratched and had panels missing. For a Best western plus itr certainly didnt deserve that ranking. It definitely needs to be renovated.

30/07/2016

Great experience. All the staff was extremely friendly and very helpful. I will stay here again and recomend this place to all my friends and contacts. The pool was outstanding and the complimentery breakfast was perfect for a short get away. Christy the manager personnaly approached me and made sure that my visit was going well. I have stayed at 5 star resorts and have not received that kind of customer service.

"Worst Hotel Ever"

1
27/07/2016

The customer service here is awful. I booked on their website but discovered the nightly rate was less at check in than when I booked online. The hotel clerk would not honor the lower rate. We requested a rollaway and she said no problem. When we got back from dinner she yelled at me as we were getting on the elevator that we could not have the rollaway after all because we had two queen beds. She offered no other assistance. We proceeded to our room and upon getting into bed we found a Qtip in the bed. Absolutely disgusting! I will never stay here again.

"Mesa - Great Hotel to Stay at"

27/07/2016

As a business traveler I look for the basics and this hotel has it. Clean, comfy bed and pillows. Room was clean. People professional and most helpful. The room I stayed in had its own AC unit and it was pretty quiet. Breakfast - was yummy. Good stuff - Eggs, Bacon, Waffles, Juice, yogurt, oatmeal, cereal and much more. I would stay again and recommend.

08/07/2016

On the night of July 6, I stayed at the Best Western Plus Mesa. I booked the facility on Hotwire based on the positive reviews. Despite the high reviews, I was very, very disappointed in my stay. When I arrived at 2am after a long day of traveling. The check in process took longer than it should have. The woman booked me on the fourth floor then told me she needed to change it. In the morning, as I was getting ready in the morning, the toilet began overflowing. I called the front desk at 11am and no one answered. I called back at 11:05am, and no one answered. I called one more time around 11:10am. So, I called 1-800-WESTERN. The representative I spoke with finally got a hold of someone. By this time the entry way to the room was flooding, so I ran into the bathroom and shut off the valve. Around 11:40am, a maintenance person came to the room without any tools. He said he would have to go find his tools. I asked him how long it would take to resolve this issue, because I had a meeting at 1pm. He shrugged and told me to "just shower in [the sewage flooded] bathroom." I thought he was joking, but he was not. He left. By this time, I really didn't have any options, so I laid down all the towels and took a quick shower. The manager, Danielle, finally called the room at noon. She said she would call me back, but she never did. I got ready and went down stairs to check out. As I was talking with Danielle, the maintenance man walked by, and once he saw me he turned around. I was shocked when I was only offered 500 Best Western points for my extreme inconvenience. I am not a Best Western member, so what good is 500 points going to do?

"Impressive stay! Great value"

I stayed here for four nights on business and was spellbound by how splendid the whole experience was. The pricing compared to other hotels in Mesa was quite reasonable. All of my questions on shopping, dining and Arizona life were answered to the best of their abilities by the staff. You could tell they cared about accommodating my curiosity. The pool is fine and the rooms are pretty sweet. The beds were super comfy! I slept like a king and felt refreshed each day. There's nothing worse then a poor, uncomfortable bed to throw off the day. This place is definitely worth staying at for multiple nights.

Our experience overall was very good. Great breakfast and staff. We stay mostly in Comfort Inn's but this was very nice motel. It was conveniently located about a mile from dozens of restuarants, Walmart, and a major freeway for easy access for travel.

"A real disappointment"

1
22/06/2016

Husband and I stopped with Grandkids for the night. Were not informed that the pool was out of order. Offered the use of another pool a few miles away. When we arrived it was a dirty little pool about half the size of our room. Nasty, hot, green. ??

"Pool not done"

3
21/06/2016

On there website it claimed pool was ready but when I got to the motel it wasn't going to be done for another 3 to 4 weeks. When you are staying with kids that won't work! However, they were accommodating in canceling the rest of our stay even. We did stay one night due to our late arrival. The bed were comfortable and room was clean.

"nice hotel"

12/06/2016

a little disappointed in that the website, when i reserved a room, stated the pool would be open june 1. we stayed june 2 and 3, and the pool was not open. front desk staff said their website stated the pool would not open till june 15. hmmm. i could be mistaken, but...

11/06/2016

Very nice hotel with courteous staff. Very clean and well kept. We have stayed here several times before and have always been happy with our experience. The only only negative would be that the location is a tough traffic area. but you can easily solve that by always turning right out of the parking lot.

"AC problems"

3
07/06/2016

My AC unit broke at home and I needed a convenient place to stay. Good thing this hotel is right off the US60. The staff was great and made things convenient. The even had my room keys ready for check in when I walked in. The problem was when I got to my room the AC didn't work and I was with a pregnant woman. Eventually I got a room with an AC but that AC was loud and ran on a system that shut off and then on in 30 seconds, and every time it turned on it was loud. Other than that I got what I paid for and the Staff at the hotel were courteous.

"Hotel being renovated"

04/06/2016

We had gotten 2 rooms, one for me and my hubby and one for my daughter and her family of 4, one a 5-month-old. The staff was happy to change our rooms once we had seen which would be a better choice for them. They were kind and friendly. When I was looking for water bottles to buy, they were kind to give me 4. We were a little disappointed that the pool was being renovated, especially during the terrible heat wave, but we were allowed to go to a nearby hotel to swim in their pool at no charge. The location of the hotel is good, very close to the highway and a Native Grill is RIGHT next door. Very convenient for a late arrival with hungry family. The bed was ok. I didn't think the bed was extremely comfortable but the room was clean and so were the sheets. The air conditioning worked great. Breakfast was good, the usual breads, cereals and fruit with waffles, eggs and sausage or bacon. It was a decent place for the value and when the pool is done, it will be great.

"Good hotel"

02/06/2016

The pool was not available. It was being repaired. The carpet in the hall around the elevators was being replaced. Our room was clean and comfortable. The hot breakfast was excellent! We would come back again in the future.

"Wait"

31/05/2016

This holet is being remodeled I would suggest you wait to stay here until it is finnish. The pool is being redone, and if you want to swim you have to go down the street. What a pain. Also the rooms were not very clean..

excellent stay; all in all, very good; would've been nicer if it wasn't booked up with a graduation weekend, but can understand. All in all. a nice place to stay. Close to a good restaurant and surrounding area.

"Not as Advertised"

30/05/2016

The pool was closed for 6 weeks which was not disclosed to me at time of booking. I was told i could drive 4 miles up the road to use the pool at the Fairfield for free but i did not have a rental car so that was not an option. I was awoken at 5 am by a barking dog in the room next to mine. Of the 3 nights I stayed my room was only cleaned 1. At 9pm I stopped at the business counter to check in for my flight and print boarding pass. 2 kids were playing extremely loud video games on 2 computers and the other computer did not work. They had pop cans and wrappers all over the desk. I finally had to go to the front desk and ask for assistance. The clerk came out and that is when i realized the kids belonged to her. She made one of them get off a computer so I could use it. The printer was out of ink so I was told it would print at the office and I could pick it up at the front desk.

25/05/2016

This was a good hotel for anyone looking for a cheap room in Mesa. There are lots of rooms so it is a great place to stay. It is close to a ton of great shopping and restaurants. The rooms were always clean and very nice. The pool area was under construction while we were there and we got woke up to a jack hammer going off every morning at 8 a.m., which was a little annoying that they started so early. The breakfast was really good and they had hot and cold options so it was nice to have variety aside from the normal continental breakfasts other hotels generally offer.

09/05/2016

I was part of a large group where the members stayed on multiple floors. All the rooms had a smell of sewer gas. Management was not able to determine the source of the smell. The hotel was going thru renovations. They started laying new carpet. The carpet installers left tack strips exposed which could be dangerous of some stepped them. The continental breakfast was the standard breakfast at many other hotel chains.

"Great hotel."

06/05/2016

This hotel was great. The staff was helpful. Our room was on the first floor. It was a nice size room. Breakfast was good. It had a nice variety of food including eggs, sausage, waffles, oatmeal with many toppings. We would stay there again.

"Fine Hotel for the money"

30/04/2016

We stay in Mesa to visit family. We are not in our hotel very much. This time it was just me and my husband. We only had the breakfast once as we were eating with family the other 2 mornings. The breakfast was normal fare with waffles, sausage with biscuits and gravy, bagels, toast, muffins, cereals, scrambled eggs, with many juices and coffee/tea selections. I noticed another morning as we had gone past breakfast that there was bacon that day so it looks like they may change it up which is nice if you are having breakfast there multiple days in a row. The room was clean and neat. The air worked great, the room had darkening drapes which did a fine job. The room was very comfortable with an iron and hair dryer. Fridge, no micro which would be handy for a family. We had run out of tissue for our room the first day and caught the maid service in the hall, she was very kind and gave us more tissue and asked if we could use anything else, very pleasant lady, chatted for a few and welcomed us to Mesa. It is these very small acts that win me over it tells me she is happy where she works and being pleasant to others comes easy. we did notice a small workout room which was in use everyday, not able to use this visit. We watched a little tv and they had wifi which I only used for hangouts and checking on flight, i found response fine for what it was FREE. You do have to log in everytime you return to hotel. Check-out literally took 10 seconds and I recv recpt on email. Proximity to 60 is great and I did not hear any undue highway nosie, no trouble sleeping, I will be staying here everytime I visit family here. Thank you for a pleasant stay at a very reasonable price.

"Good Value"

26/04/2016

We recently spent three nights at the Best Western Plus in Mesa and found the property to be a great value and a good option for those looking for a clean, comfortable, no frills stay. We were in town for Bikefest and noticed when we arrived that the hotel shares a parking lot with a strip mall and restaurant. We were concerned about parking our bikes and asked the desk for parking suggestions. To our surprise, they told us we could park under the canopy on the far north side of the driveway! We were thrilled to be able to have our bikes in line of site to the front desk and out of the weather. Very hospitable! Our room was on the second floor, facing the freeway with a view of the pool. We were concerned about freeway noise but the large berm seemed to keep it at bay. Not sure if a higher floor would have the same sound insulation. The room had a few notable cosmetic issues; a couple of ugly stains on the carpet, a badly torn curtain, and a missing light bulb, but was otherwise it was clean and comfortable. We weren't planning to spend much time there and were not put off by the shortcomings. I know it's relative, but we found the bed very comfy and even liked the pillows, which rarely happens in a hotel. The room had all the standard amenities; fridge, micro, desk, etc. The water saver shower left a bit to be desired but wasn't the worst I've ever used. The bathroom appeared to have been recently remodeled and everything worked as designed. We didn't try the breakfast that was offered, choosing to go elsewhere because the lobby was a bit of a madhouse each morning and evening. There was a little league baseball tournament and a cheerleading/dance competition in town the weekend we were there and the staff couldn't put food out fast enough in the morning to keep up with the demand. Evenings found the lobby area packed with the same young crowd and their chaperones consuming take out food or pizza. The front desk staff was friendly and helpful. We stopped by several times to purchase bottled water or ask questions and were always greeted quickly and with a smile. If we are back in the area, I would definitely stay here again. It's easy access to get in from the freeway. Leaving the property was a bit harder as there is no traffic light and a left turn out of the parking lot was a bit of a challenge at times.

"Staff at reception terribly bad"

1
26/04/2016

As a very frequent visitor of hotels (150 nights a year) I do know what good hotels are like. During outpr 2 week holiday in the US, we visited 10 hotels. This was the worst I have ever stayed in! The worst experience I have ever had. Reception staff is unfriendly. Did'nt even greet us when entering the hotel to checkin. Yes we were a bit early to checkin (13:30), but without saying anything else she told us: check in is at 15:00. When we came back at 15:00, some employee checked us in, assisted by the supervisor. The supervisor didn't say a word to us. Made no contact to us guests. In the conversation they had with eachother, we could figur out that they were short on cleaning staff. That that was the reason to send us out again when trying checking in. Without telling me anything, they charged the stay to my creditcard. I had already paid via Priceline. I am now in the middle of resolving this. I have to wait some days, to spend my own money again. The supervisor has lost track of customer service. If this is the service I can expect in any other BW Plus, I will never book it again. (During our vacation, we slept in 2 other BW hotels. They were just great. Just managment of this particular hotel is crap). We can not understand this behaviour is tolerated. Room was not clean. A lot of dust on many surfaces. Toilet had strange red/brown stains on it. You need to sleep under a oldfashion blanket. Area is very busy. To enter or leave the premises, you need to get through a lot of traffic. Not even talking about the loud traffic noise of the freeway, just in the backgarden. This is hotel is not worth the addition of "Plus" in any way. I do not understand the good grades in other websites. Not worth spending your money on. Even lower star accomodations were far better than this hotel.

"Not the best place to stay"

2
25/04/2016

The hotel was under a remodel, and dirty. We stayed 4 days and the hallways were only vacuumed once, and I don't think our room was ever vacuumed or swept. While we were there, they had a commercial shoot. During the shoot we were restricted from access to the lobby to leave or enter the hotel. Normally not a problem, but it was the only exit without an alarm on it. This made it very hard to get in or out of the hotel. It would have been nice to know this was going on when I booked the room.

"Not coming back......"

2
24/04/2016

Dirty room, not enough rooms to stay 3 nights without having to change rooms after one night, odor in the middle of the night and had to change rooms again, quoted wrong price per night at start and had to see supervisor to get the right price. The staff did the best they could, but I will not go back.

"Great place to stay"

5
23/04/2016

We had a great visit here! The facility is clean, beds comfortable and quiet location. They do have a pool. The facility is under some renovations but don't let that deter you. Jill made our stay even better, thank you!

"Remodel is a problem"

2
21/04/2016

They were undergoing a remodel while we were there. The floors in the hall had considerable debris. The room had an odor. The shower curtain was coming off the wall. I could not access the internet. Thankfully we were only there for one night.

"excellent facility and service"

5
21/04/2016

We like the location, quietness, helpfulness of employees breakfast waffles and variety, and all of the facility. The employees at front desk were extremely helpful when we needed information or directions. We also thought we lost a bag and the young lady at front desk was very concerned and helped us look. We did find it in our car. The ladies that prepared and served breakfast did an excellent job in every area. We stayed 5 days and they had a good variety of items.

"weekend stay in April"

3
20/04/2016

Room was fine, reasonable price. However, they were laying new carpet, but had left the hallway messy over the weekend. They had NO extra pillows in the entire hotel. No Bible in the room :-( Friendly staff, great breakfast.

"Quiet, Comfortable, Relaxing"

5
20/04/2016

Our room was on the 4th floor at the end of the hall. The room and bathroom was spacious, clean and comfortable. The king size bed was very comfortable and setting the room temperature was easy. A couch and coffee table, as well as desk was provided which gave it a homey feel. The motel is right off the interstate, but we could not hear any road noises. Centrally located elevators provided easy access to the upper floors. We stayed here 3 nights with no issues. The Continental Breakfast provided lots of hot and cold choices and tasted yummy. We would definitely stay here again!

"Best bet on budget"

4
16/04/2016

I knew I would be in the area for a popular event a couple of months beforehand and got a screaming deal on the AMEX platinum website. Big pros are super comfy beds, nice complimentary breakfast, and location right off the highway but in a very quiet center. A few blocks down the road are Trader Joes and a variety of quick restaurants. The beds are surprisingly very soft and comfortable, comparable to the home wood suites I usually stay at for quick business trips. This hotel is located just about 5 miles from the skyline aquatic center in Mesa and a hub of nightlife activity. I highly recommend this hotel for price, comfort, and cleanliness.

"One night stay"

2
13/04/2016

We have enjoyed Best Western, but this one was horrible where staff is concerned. They really don't care about you. We booked online and when we got there they said they didn't have our reservation, we showed the confirmation and the woman said we didn't book through their site. The BW app was used and she told us we were wrong that we used a third party site like booking.com. she did honor the price we booked which is good. Other than the staff issue the place is clean and breakfast is hot.

"Great price for a comfortable stay"

5
11/04/2016

Large, comfortable bed with nice sheets. Very clean. Bathroom was spacious with all amenities (shampoo, conditioner, stop, hair dryer, lotion) breakfast was the 'standard BEst western' : eggs, sausage, assortment of bread, juices, cereal, waffles. Dishes were kept replenished , dining area was clean. Close to the freeway, so easy to get to. I stayed on the non-freeway side so can't comment on if there was traffic noise.

"Great"

5
11/04/2016

You never know what you are getting when you book online but our stay here was excellent. From the helpful staff to our room all was great. Breakfast was pretty good with a lot of choices. We were allowed to park our Harley under the canopy at the front entrance as it was raining.

"Beware. Would Not Recommend"

2
08/04/2016

Would not recommend, We always book at Best Western, but this hotel was so bad we question if we should continue booking with Best Western . My husband has a disability, and we requested a first floor room. I guess this hotel does not abide by ADA regulations, because when I told her we requested a first floor room, due to his disability, the front clerk shrugged her shoulders and said we have elevators. The room we had was near route 60, and all I heard all night were motorcycles screeching up the highway. The room cleaners every day, had their carts side by side, in the narrow hallways, and you could rarely walk to the room at 4pm. All they did was giggle and chit chat in the hall. A day after we left we realized we had left two things in the room and requested they be mailed. I called and requested the manager, and the female front clerk wanted to know exactly why. When I explained, she said she would have the room cleaner manager call me. It has now been 6 days, and we have heard nothing from the hotel.

"Convenient location "

5
07/04/2016

We expected road noise but had none! The staff was courteous and helpful. The air conditioner worked very well. Breakfast was tasty; but you might want to brew your coffee in your room... The coffee in the breakfast area had a 'been sitting in the pot overnight' taste.

"Best Western is close to about anything around including spring training games."

4
06/04/2016

The location is very good especially for exploring the area and spring training games. The morning breakfast is excellent with many choices and good morning hours. The house cleaning was way below what we have ever had. It was Easter weekend and we were told they had some people sick, but three days of going down to the desk to get towels was totally not right. We also asked to have some coffee for our coffee pot in the room and they brought some coffee, but no cups to use with it. We would possible use Best Western again, but will also explore some other hotels around the area.

"close to paradise on earth"

5
06/04/2016

can't sing loud enough the praises for best western plus. the staff was very helpful, and willing to go the extra mile. our room was clean and cozy. breakfast each day was excellent. we spent as much time as possible at the outside pool and hot tub, there were always plenty towels, and pool is heated. I highly recommend staying here and we were there for 7 days all was super, will definetly return.

"Very Nice Stay"

4
06/04/2016

We stayed for 3 nights at this hotel and really enjoyed the stay. The pool was great and the view from our room was nice. The only advise that I gave them on my other review was to make sure everything is vacuumed, we found a couple cheerios and peanuts on the floor, but other than that the room was very clean and desirable. The breakfast was good, except no fruit, which hopefully they get some sometime :). But all the workers we dealt with were great and we really enjoyed the stay. The sound proofing of the rooms seemed to be good, my brother was in the room next to us and I couldn't hear his kids and he said he couldn't hear mine.

"FIRE!!!"

2
04/04/2016

False alarm for fire at 1AM - then light in room hallway blinked off and on the rest of the night. No announcement of false alarm, just had to go to front desk and ask and then relay to people standing in hallway. Alarm went on for 2-3 beeps and then off for a minute then back on for 2-3 beeps and then off - TV remote volume didn't work - Water didn't drain in tub while taking shower.

"nice and quiet"

4
30/03/2016

I stayed at this hotel on business one Sunday night. It is very quiet and clean. the pool area looked pleasant. There is very little to eat or drink within walking distance from the hotel. The hotel did charge an extra $20.00 on to my credit card and then took it off a day later. Not sure what that's all about. I will stay here again when I visit Mesa

"A Pleasant Overnight Stay"

29/03/2016

My daughter and I needed a place to stay for one night after putting my grandson on an airplane at Gateway Airport. I am a Best Western Points member so naturally I first checked out Best Western hotels; then I looked at other hotels in the area. I decided on this location due to price and location. We both were very pleased with our stay.

"Best Western PLUS Mesa"

28/03/2016

Hotel was conveniently located, clean and one of the nicer Best Western hotels I've stayed. The staff was friendly, the beds were comfortable and they were able to move us to a king room upon check in.

"Good stay"

4
28/03/2016

This hotel is located just off the 60 and was therefore ideal for getting around the Phoenix area. We were initially surprised that it was actually situated in an open mall but there was always plenty parking spaces. Our room was a good size, with a fridge and microwave. Linens and towels were clean and fresh but we felt that the carpet area required more regular shampooing. The pool and hot tub were nice although we felt that more sun beds could have been provided. Reception area was spacious and led to the breakfast area which was quite small for the size of the hotel and was very busy every morning, in spite of there being an overflow room. The tightness of the area was compounded by the fact that the business centre was located up the side of the dining area. The staff did work exceptionally hard at restocking food and cleaning tables and their work made the situation bearable each morning. In the five days we stayed here, the hotel was extremely busy and is clearly popular. Good value for money.

"Decent Place"

4
27/03/2016

Clean rooms, outdoor area and lobby. The front desk staff could be more friendly and accommodating. We needed several things but they didn't bother to try to find a solution. Just more or less shrugged their shoulders. The breakfast was good but the area to eat in was VERY SMALL and over crowded. Probably would not stay there again.

"Nice place to get a good night's sleep"

26/03/2016

This Best Western has a gracious and friendly staff that works hard to accommodate their guests needs. After a 7 hour drive, we needed a place to change clothes to go to a memorial service and we were given an early check-in. It was very much appreciated. Our room was clean and comfortable. I can't be positive, but I think the front side rooms might be the quieter side. It is the side we were on. We were even by the elevators, and we were never disturbed by noise. The other side of the building is by Highway 60. I went to the pool area, which is very inviting and filled with happy children. The highway sounds were quite prominent and I wondered if they could be heard from the rooms on that side of the building. I don't know, but if it is important to you, you might ask for a room on the front side. They do have a breakfast buffet. It is the buffet frequently found in hotels in this price level... maybe a bit better than some because they have a frig with hardboiled eggs and yogurt. The offered whole fruit rather than cut fruit. The biggest problem for them is the size of the breakfast area. When the hotel is full it cannot accommodate the diners. They are aware of this and offer overflow space in one of their conference rooms. If you are a breakfast person, or claustrophobic in crowded places, know there is a great breakfast restaurant down the road a couple blocks down Gilbert on Southern called the Broken Yolk. Free is good, but so is sanity.

"Decent Place IF you don't mind..."

2
26/03/2016

The room was fine. If only house keeping had cleaned the floors and left towels in the room. The WiFi Internet service, which they promote, was terrible! Repeated sign-ins throughout the day were required. The service was slow! If only hotel network admins would learn how to limit each user to a reasonable download bandwidth so a few people downloading videos don't crush the use of all users in the hotel. The Front Desk staff actually tried to change the price of the room as we were checking out. Really?!? I've never experienced this in 30 years of business and pleasure travel.

"Getting to visit grandkids"

23/03/2016

Nice place nice people. Had a good breakfast and staff that kept the things full and the area clean. Pool was nice but at times they were having a hard time keeping up with towels . But the place was full also.

"Nicely central to Mesa and surrounding things to do"

3
23/03/2016

As I have not stayed in Mesa in a few decades plus this is one busy area at this time of the year, this hotel met my location and pricing criteria. 20 minutes from the airport was convenient and since I wanted to explore the Canyon Lake and Superstition mountain area, this worked out really well. The facility had a full breakfast, part of the price and had a reasonable pool area and fitness area. Wifi worked which is always a bonus and there was plenty of parking! There was a separate restaurant adjacent to the hotel as well. Within 10 minutes you had all the shopping anyone could need or want! Was happy that a fridge was in the room as well. The hotel was completely full which included a teenage boys baseball team so there was that but thankfully the front desk alerted me to this fact upon check in and immediately put me on a different floor, that was what I call good service!

"Close to Mesa airport"

22/03/2016

We stayed one night to catch an early allegient flight out of Mesa. We searched for the right room at the right price online. We found this hotel and made a reservation through TripAdvisor. Easy to find and in a good area, we arrived to find out that the room wasn't what we booked. As the hotel was full they couldn't move us. I asked to speak to the Manager and was helped out by Jill who was on duty. I was very impressed with her. Although busy, she stayed calm and turned over every leaf to ensure we were satisfied with our stay. Very impressed with her and the hotel. Our room was very nice and clean. Little conveniences like lots of plugins close to the bed and lots of hooks in the bathroom for wet bathing suits. Great pool, full breakfast, and a great family restaurant right next door. One drawback - no one answered the phones when I called from my room. We had to go down to the desk when we needed something.

"Best Western is the way to travel. "never disappointed.""

22/03/2016

It was clean, lower range price always use your best western card when staying . Denny's and McDonalds in the parking lot. Breakfast was good and the hotel is clean, clean clean. pool and hot tub is awesome. I would stay again not a problem..

"Spring Training"

21/03/2016

Very low water pressure, bathroom dirty, even leaving towels near dirty spots didn't help, housekeeping couldn't read note (written in English) requesting extra towels but took the money. Breakfast was eggs, sausage, gravy, biscuits, waffles, cereals, yogurts, breads and pastries. No fresh fruit. Lots of kids without supervision running around. Day 2 waffle maker broken, day 3 coffee maker broken. And oh yeah someone pulled the fire alarm at 5 am on a Sunday morning.

"Excellent Stay!"

21/03/2016

I will have to stay that staying at Best Western this weekend was absolutely amazing. Shannon at the front desk shines! She provided excellent customer service and made me feel very welcome to the hotel. The hotel itself was fairly easy to find. Upon checking in, the room looked great! VERY clean! Bed was comfy, bathroom was huge and everything worked. :) Thank you Best Western! I will be back very soon!

"Nicest Best Western in the Area"

This is the third Best Western Hotel I stayed at in the Phoenix/Mesa/Scottsdale area and by far the BEST. Very clean rooms, helpful staff and overall very comfortable...everything you want on vacation.

Hotel was easy to find off the freeway. Because of spring training, the rate was higher than we'd usually pay ($144 + tax = $164). Our room was big and well appointed with coffeemaker, micro, fridge, loveseat and coffee table. WiFi worked very well. Bathroom was nicely remodeled except for the actual tub. Nice high counters, good water pressure and temp, drained well. Towels were soft, but pretty bulky. They provided shampoo, conditioner and lotion, but they forgot to leave some soap. Thankfully I had some in my bag so we didn't have to go back to the front desk. Water was very soft....felt like soap didn't wash off. Not a lot of TV channels, but at least they were HD. Did have HBO. Bed felt a little stiff at first, but we both slept well. Had the fan only setting running to drown out noise, but we got cold in the middle of the night and switched over to the white noise app on my phone. Breakfast was okay. I usually bring my own whole wheat bagel and eat a banana with peanut butter. The bananas were green, so I had some yogurt with granola. There were the typical scrambled eggs and biscuits/gravy, waffle, pastries....you know, what most of America gobbles down! The lady at the desk when we checked out was so nice and cheerful! I should've asked her name. A really great attitude, as opposed to who checked us in. There's a Native restaurant directly adjacent to the hotel, which seemed to be popular with the locals. We were too tired to try it. We took a walk around the area right by the hotel and saw the pool in the back, which looked very nice with lounge chairs and tables/chairs, along with a hot tub. Overall, we'd stay here again if in the area. Hope this helps you make your decision!

"Very Good Hotel"

16/03/2016

Stayed for 14 nights recently - small room first two nights, then moved into larger accommodation. Breakfast is good - just get there early on the weekends. Pool area is very nice - would use a few more lounge chairs. Only downside to visit was internet connectivity is spotty at best depending on location at property. Would definitely stay again which is my best recommendation!

"Easy to reach flight academy @ Mesa airport"

01/03/2016

Easy access to Gilbert DT, to airport Mesa, breakfast is OK+, staff OK, room are spacious ,clean with free Wi-Fi. We spend there a few days(nights) to visit our son taking flying lessons at CAE Oxford , the transfert with rental car is very easy and you don't have the fuzz (noise) of an airport ;-) Price/quality: TOP

"327"

21/02/2016

Checked in after 3 PM no waiting friendly staff. Room 327 over looking the pool area. Everything in room was fine. Easy freeway access to & from. Gilbert road leads right into nearby towns of Gilbert & Chandler. Breakfast gets your day started. Stayed here week before MLB spring training gets underway. Only thing I can think of is maybe have more than one luggage trolley for hotel guest.

"A quiet stay"

5
21/02/2016

First time at this property, very pleased with our stay. At check-in we requested a quiet room at the end of the hall on an upper floor, and that is what we received. There was a large group of teenage boy hockey teams with their parents staying at this hotel, and am happy to say we never heard them. The breakfast was outstanding, best waffles we've had at a hotel. A very nice variety of breakfast items to choose from. Staff is very warm and accommodating. Room and king sized bed were very comfortable and we slept great. We would stay here again.

"Definitely Stay elsewhere"

Ok so this is a case of a number of obvious things adding up to a very obvious sum. That sum is that the ownership at this hotel is cutting corners in any every way. Now they may have some manager whose job it is to respond to reviews in a political way, but nothing can can explain away or deceive readers from whats going on here, so do not be fooled. First check in was beyond ridiculous. Policy here is absolutely no check inns before 3pm. but they dont tell you that they lie every time you come back to see if you can get in a room. Noon? they will laugh at you. 1pm still laughing. 2 pm nope come back at 3 pm. Now mind you we were sitting in the lobby all this time and for 3 hours not 1 room got cleaned allegedly that we were able to check into. 2:55 pm ? NOPE we were told that a list of rooms was not yet sent to the front desk. Now at 3 pm they checked us in. We had been here 3 hours went up to the 2nd 3rd 4th floor and saw rooms that were unoccupied being cleaned. By the time i was done being checked in which took well over 5 minutes over 2 dozen people were in line behind me, And how many people were working the desk? Just 1! She was a large rude lady and what was really odd is that she wore no shoes or socks. Now they werent honest in saying policy was 3pm and never before, we were told numerous poor excuses up until 3pm. One being that the rooms cleaned first were people staying over which is backwards and was a lie as the next 2 days we saw that the unoccupied rooms were cleaned first as they are at every hotel. Later that day I saw a lady with a pink shirt that i remembered was the last person in line when i had finished getting checked in, i asked her how long she had to wait and she said 4:10 pm. Now as for the breakfast. ! lady was preparing the food in back and the same lady was responsible to also restock the food and everything constantly ran out over and over. Our toilet got clogged we called the desk were put on hold and 10 minutes later we were still on hold. We went to the desk to ask for maintenance came back 3 hours later and no one had shown up. The pool towels ran out and they had no more. The excuse was they had a lot of kids rather than telling the simple truth (we dont have enough pool towels) Nope we didnt hear they didnt have enough towels we heard they had to many guests??? The refrigerator did not work and they would not replace it they would not switch us from another room they told us they could switch rooms the next day. This was just a nightmare all around and i could go on and on here. So do not stay here. They have cut endless corners and are way way under staffed and they just dont care enough to fix any of these issues or hire a proper staff here

"Great Hotel"

15/02/2016

We were traveling for Veterinary care for injured pet and this hotel was amazing. It was recommended because it was close to the surgical center and they have great pet policy, clean rooms and great breakfast. We have stayed twice and more visits are planned. We will stay when traveling without our pets for the few shopping trips we plan throughout the year as it is located very near some great shopping malls & centers.

"Good hotel for the price"

13/02/2016

Nice, dependable rooms consistent with the nicest Best Western hotels I've stayed at. Great bed and fast internet. I was there with a large group for several days of hiking and outdoor fun. Hotel breakfasts (built in to the rate) were much appreciated and utilized by my group. Hotel staff were friendly and helpful.

"BEST, Best Western."

09/02/2016

BEST, Best Western. If you need a great place at an acceptable price to stay at while you're in the area, this is the one you're looking for. They can acommodate families, large groups, and business travelers with ease and comfort. This is accomplished with an amazing staff, amenities, cleanliness, and location.

"Quiet, clean, friendly staff"

07/02/2016

Our check-in was very quick and Shannon at the fron desk was most helpful. The room was nice and clean, and spacious. We had a good night's sleep on the comfortable bed. The staff at breakfast were also very friendly and served a good selecton of foods. We'd return here for sure! Good and convenient location in Mesa.

"Best Customer Service"

4
04/02/2016

Most mid range hotels are similar and the service makes the difference. Staff here go above and beyond to try and please. Very friendly quick check in. They quickly accomodated a change of dates for us and repaired a wonky TV. Breakfast was good and changed slightly each day. Pool was warm even though it was cold out. Room was good and bed ok. One negative is the entrance and exit is across 4 lanes of traffic so patience is required. General location is very good but not much within walking distance.

"Solid Stay - Room Was Not Clean at Checkin"

3
31/01/2016

We had a good stay. The young woman at reception was super friendly and engaging and responded to every need we had. Our room was nicely decorated with contemporary browns, oranges and beige. Movement was a little tight as there was limited space between the foot of the bed and cabinet holding TV, microwave and refrigerator. The internet was fine - not blazing but satisfactory and there was plenty of outlets available regardless of where you opted to sit (bed, sofa or desk). Our bathroom was dirty at check in. The tub area had not been tended to properly as the chrome fixtures were covered with water spots that could have been easily wiped down. The sides of the walls had flecks of dried something on them and there was plenty of hairs around the tub surround. I reported the matter at 1900 and they sent someone up to clean it for us. I don't enjoy entering a room that isn't ready. Also, there were no grab bars of any kind in the tub - we didn't feel very secure using it. The bed was OK. They did have the smallest, thinnest mattress pad I've ever seen and the one on our king bed was the size you'd put on a twin. I could see the red border stitched along the edge of the pad through the sheet and there was about two feet of mattress that the pad did not cover. I had to wonder why they bothered with the thing. They do not carry the TV channel in the area that airs my two favorite shows - Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy. This was a major disappointment for me as I look forward to watching them both while on the road. The front desk clerk suggested I check the TV in the lobby but the channel wasn't available there either. Odd numbered rooms may be wider by about eight inches. We had to switch rooms due to a wet carpet and our room on the other side of the wall was much wider and the extra space between the foot of the bed and the large cabinet was welcome. Coffee and tea are available 24 hours and they have a comfortable lobby. Breakfast was good with hot items rotating daily. The two days we were there they had scrambled eggs, sausage and sausage gravy on the first and scrambled eggs, diced potatoes and sausage the second. There were enough choices to keep everyone happy. There was one coffee choice and it was very good. Although the machine initially dispensed hot water when you pulled the tap, coffee soon flowed. ?the only items they take for recycling are paper. We took our plastic bottles and cans with us.

We needed a location close to an event. This BW turned out to be a pleasant surprise. Great staff. Better than average hotel breakfast. Within a short drive to every chain restaurant. Parking is skimpy if you are towing a trailer.

"Best Western Mesa"

29/01/2016

Nice inexpensive motel near the freeway in Mesa. The location was the primary deciding point in selecting this motel. Breakfast options were extensive, but the food attendant was often unable to keep up with the demand resulting in empty serving plates.

"Not Satisfied"

22/01/2016

I usually am not unhappy about a Best Western but I was this time. Hotel room needed a light bulb as soon as you walk in. Curtain was ripped on window and coffee table was damaged and looked really bad. Did not like breakfast with flimsy plastic for breakfast. For the fee which I now wish I had stayed at the Marriott. I will check the room better next time.

Good staff, good rooms, nice price. Everything was perfect even the barber in front of the hotel. The breakfast is included for free and the City directly accessible through the freeway. There is a quiet swiming pool and a microwave in the room.

This hotel is very conveniently located at AZ Hwy 60 and Gilbert Rd. There are good restaurants within 5-10 minute drive. The hotel is very quiet for business travelers and has an excellent fitness center. Their breakfast are is also very nice.

Location is convenient. Quality of accommodations has declined since it was a Hampton Inn, in spite of extensive renovations. The building is just old. Ventilation system appears defective. Elevators had to be shut down for one day.

"Amazing!"

03/01/2016

Was in town to visit family. The hotel was a little hard to see because the sign was so small and behind a tree. Great location though. Jill checked me in and she was quick and friendly! The rooms were clean and so were all public areas. I stopped a young lady in the hallway, I believe by the name of Chantel to ask for extra towels and conditioners, she got it to me right away and withe a great smile on her face telling me to have a good day, that was very thoughtful of her. All staff seemed to have great care for their job. Breakfast was a little rough but I will be staying here again.

"Disgusting, would give a zero if possible."

1
03/01/2016

Possibly the most disgusting place I have ever stayed. The bathroom was filthy. There were hair/whiskers everywhere, on the wall, the floor, in the tub, even pubic hair on the sink counter, in the sink, in the soap dish, and on the plastic tray for shampoo! There was yellow urine on the toilet. There was either blood or vomit on the wall behind the toilet. There was toilet paper on the wall. Dirt all along the baseboards. There was an odor in the bathroom almost like a overflowing septic smell. The condition of the bathroom made me wonder if the sheets were even fresh or if someone else had slept on them. It was the most disgusting place I have ever stayed. The bathroom fan was really loud and no way to shut it off. Next morning clerk offered to put me in a different room, I looked at it and decided no. I was so  disappointed. I originally reserved 3 nights but left the next morning. ALSO, both of the elevators were broken and I had to haul luggage down 4 flights of stairs to leave. I have arthritis and this incident aggravated pain in my shoulder and wrists, fingers and feet.

"Merry Christmas"

03/01/2016

This facility is impressive when entering the lobby. It appears to be a much higher class of hotel than it's rated as. My initial. concern was access to a room since I am handicapped and had requested either a handicapped room or at least a first floor accommodation. As it happens an elevator was available and the clerk at the desk was very friendly and did her best to set us up in a room in a good location. The room was nothing remarkable, but everything seemed to work well. The two things that I noticed that were out of character were a disconnected plug in the bath tub and a number of large scratches on the base of the vanity in the bath that didn't seem in keeping with the otherwise clean room. Breakfast was unremarkable, but satisfactory. All in all, a very good deal considering the cost and the time of year. I suppose the price may be somewhat higher once Spring Training for the baseball season gets underway.

"Pretty Disappointing! Doesn't follow throuugh & rooms are not cleaned properly."

27/12/2015

First off, service was just horrible. We had called a few days before arrival to change our reservation to 2 beds since we were adding a 3rd person. It was confirmed but when we got there they said they did not have it! They said they could do nothing about it because they didn't have rooms with the 2 beds left. Already upset we just took the room but even worse when we got up to the room the rooms didn't look like they were really cared for. When we flipped open the sofabed from the couch, there were hair in the blankets. We did not want to deal with this anymore. What else did they not clean or change in the room? The only good thing is that when we went to front desk right after we checked in the front desk FINALLY felt bad and since they messed up twice and let us out of the reservation but the inconvenience of finding another hotel at a higher cost was not fun. Do yourself a favor and pay a little more to stay somewhere else if you want a clean room and the room type you want.

"Great Stay in Mesa"

22/12/2015

Convenient Parking, Friendly Staff, Decent Breakfast, Clean Rooms and Comfortable Beds. Check in and Check out were quick. There are convenient computers in the lobby for the guests to use. The hot tub was clean and big.

"Great place to stay but has needs some upgrades"

4
20/12/2015

Great and helpful staff. Nice clean surroundings; walking distance to a great Sports bar. Great selection of breakfast food. Improvements: Low or inadequate water pressure for the shower head attachment used. For occassional cold weather use: provide on loaner use, squeegees or other tool for travellers to clean off frost on windshield. Other: was woken up at 4:00am by noisy people on hallway during their checkout time. Also: On two occassions, a terrible smell, such as septic tank smell permeated from the vents.

15/12/2015

We stayed here for my son's out of state baseball tournament. The lobby was well updated. The staff was available and cautious when needed. The breakfast was much more than expected. Seemed to be enough parking. The only thing that kept this from being a perfect score is the WiFi. It did not seem to be strong enough to be reliable while I was there. Overall, I would stay there again for sure.

I have frequented this establishment on several occasions over the passed year and I am always pleased with the service, the professionalism of the hotel staff, the cleanliness of the hotel room and the amenities and the breakfast. By far, Best Western has been my favorite hotel chain to stay at for business or leisure. I highly recommend them to anyone who travels on a regular basis.

Nice place to stay when visiting relatives in Mesa. Spacious room, comfortable bed, lots of choices for breakfast both hot and cold. Enjoyed our stay, would stay there again. Didn't have time to use hot tub or pool, but was told they stay heated through January.

"Hotel that is close to just about everything!"

29/11/2015

We've been able to stay at this BW when we are in Mesa, and truly enjoy it. There are no noise issues, place is clean and it is right next door to a Native Grill Restaurant. There are other restaurants and malls in the area that are close by as well. Any issues that we have had, we relay to the staff and they are taken care of immediately. We recommend this BW to anybody who wants peace and quiet and friendly professional staff.

"A little hard to find - but a great hotel"

5
26/11/2015

My GPS took me to the neighborhood for this hotel - after a busy ride down US 60. But - the hotel sign was hard to see from the road and all the drivers behind me gave me no opportunity to "look around." I finally made a phone call to the hotel and they gave me some clues. The hotel is located on the parking lot of a mini mall ... it sits at right angles to Gilbert Road - and back from the road. You have to go past the hotel and enter the mall parking lot .... and then you'll see the hotel. It is clean, comfortable and amazingly inexpensive. It is one of the "Plus" version of a Best Western hotel/motel -- there is a microwave and a refrigerator. The breakfast was excellent. I enjoyed my stay.

"No, it's not the Ritz"

4
23/11/2015

Nice property with a good staff and breakfast, too. Adequate parking out front. Nice enough rooms although they are looking a bit tired and could use a freshening. Simple, clean and a good place to hand your hat for a night or two. I stayed here about 10 years ago and when I discovered that I needed to be in Gilbert for a few days, I purposely chose this hotel. Hasn't changed much and if I need to be in the area again in 10 years, I will return. No, it isn't the Ritz but then again, I didn't expect it to be.

"Perfect for my needs!"

5
19/11/2015

The room was spacious and nice. I've stayed in Mesa a number of times, but never noticed this place. Pleasant Surprise. Only 4 floors. Not overly busy while I was there. Very quiet! Breakfast had many choices...something for everyone. Didn't use the pool but looked very nice. Only complaint I have is that the bathroom sink is way to high for us short people! Coffee in the room, microwave. If you are staying in Mesa for awhile this place is perfect. There is a nice restaurant/sports bar in the same parking lot. Great food!
