Best Western Hotel Riverfront Inn, Marinette

Beds are the worst beds I have slept in for a very long time, and we travel a lot throughout the year. Front desk staff friendly, but staff for breakfast was very poor. When asking for coffee (not self serve) the lady would snip at each person that she would come over when she had time. The only good thing about this hotel is the pool and hot tub, which was nice and clean.

After booking our room, months in advance, we were moved upon check in from a queen bed with a river view to a room with 2 double beds. Mistakes on the bill, a restaurant that's understaffed and a breakfast that is underwhelming. I cannot recommend this hotel at all. The only bright spot was that housekeeping did a fine job and the server in the restaurant was extraordinary. The management lacks skills.

This was our last night of a 10-day trip to Upper Michigan. Enjoyed our room, the bar & food service. Staff were all pleasant & helpful. The park across the street was pleasant, allowing a safe place to walk. The river area was attractive. Also a couple of the houses next door were pretty cool. Location is convenient for passing through or visiting the city. Interesting, this hotel was the least expensive of 5 hotels, yet it had the nicest room, nicest breakfast area, and easily was the nicest place overall.

The staff was extremely friendly and the rooms very clean. We were able to enjoy the hot continental breakfast that offered a variety of items that included coffee and juices. The room rate was reasonable.

This is a great location being right next to the river. You can go walk in the park, walk the 1.7 miles to the marina, or walk around Marinette. The hotel had a nice looking restaurant and a good pool/hot tub. I would stay here again.

The staff was friendly, however that did not make up for the poor qualify of the condition of this hotel. It is tired and needs to be updated. I know times are hard as far as expenses...hopefully in the future they will have the funds to update and refresh. Marinette is a beautiful city. Was very peaceful.

I am sorry your visit with us was not what you expected. Yes we are doing a fresh up. I hope you will consider staying with us again if you are ever in the area.

Hotel continues to give good service in a clean, convenient facility. While furnishings are getting a bit worn, rooms are still comfortable and well stocked. Staff is always friendly. A full buffet breakfast didn't have any surprise offerings, but they served until 10 am on Sunday and food was hot and fresh.

This is an older Best Western. Toilet in the bathroom is so low to the floor it's almost like sitting on the floor. Cannot recommend this hotel and would not stay again without a complete remodel. A/C runs noisily.

The hotel staff was very pleasant and helpful. Unfortunately the hotel itself needs an overhaul. The beds are very worn down, the pillows were small like throw pillows. The carpet has definitely seen better days and the bathrooms are tiny. The location is great, and the view of the river was delightful.

Great hotel. decidedly the nicest best western I have stayed at. the rooms are a bit out dated, and the bed was older. The hotel staff was great, and the onsite bar/restaurant are very good. Breakfast in the morning was good as well. Would definitely stay here again for the location and price. Had a nice view of the river and park.

This place is not worth your business. The rooms are disgusting. There are not queen beds. They are double beds. Two adults can barely fit on the bed. And let's talk about mushrooms growing in the pool

Loud, obnoxious karaoke and DJ music will keep you awake past midnight...be sure to ask for room above 2nd floor if you have any desire to get a full nights sleep! Between the music and the clicking sound the heater makes, sleep won't come easy.

Room was clean, Food was great waitress (Emily) and other staff were great very nice and helpful I will stay here again room prices were very good. beds were a little small but room was clean. food prices were great 6 people with drinks was less than $130.00 for supper. breakfast was hot and good. staff was beyond great and friendly can't put into words the respect i have for them they were so nice. Spent one night at the BW Riverfront Inn. Room was clean and comfortable. They have a lovely pool and hot tub. Staff was friendly. Breakfast was cold buffet but guests can order complementary breakfast from their menu. Food was good--we had mushroom and swiss omelet, and eggs, sausage, English muffin, coffee and juice. Definitely would stay here again. We had a river view from the 6th floor and could see Stephenson Island. Very quiet.

Beds are a little uncomfortable, everyone is helpful and nice, long stay they make it feel like family for you, games to play, cook outs. Wing nights are busy and the homemade sauces are yummy. Wednesdays skillets get changed out which are very good.

Restaurant is beyond disgusting. I was served a sandwich on a moldy roll. Appetizers were so greasy they tasted like fish fry from three weeks ago and had so much grease they stuck to the parchment paper in the basket. Breakfast buffet was runny cold disgusting eggs, hash browns that looked more like hash mush. Best thing in the buffet was the box of expired Frosted Flakes

Entire staff was attentive to assisting guests all the time. I observed many cases where staff paused to asked if someone needed assistance. A great act of kindness. Good job management team. I think you have priced your food , drinks and stay perfectly. Thanks.

Great restaurant and pleasant staff, It is an older hotel so some of the accomendations are showing their age such as the swimming pool, hot tub, elevators, and bathrooms. It was clean and maintained fairly well. Good location for exploring local waterfalls and quick jump over to Michigan to visit relatives. The price was also fair for a last minute weekend get away. We were on the 6th floor and had a pretty view of the river and were suprised at how quiet the rooms were.

An excellent hotel. I was there for a class reunion. The event space is wonderful and the hotel rooms very nice. Staff were extremely helpful and friendly. Hotel conveniently located. Breakfast was more than adequate.

We recently stayed at the best western in Merrinette for two nights and it was the worst experience I've ever had at a hotel. 1st of all we got there at 3pm when check in is and they were very rude and short with us and told us to wait with no recourse. We ask for a possible upgrade and was told it was sold out very snippity. We get in the room and it's old and looks like a motel 6 all the furniture had chips and looked very unkepted. We wake up to go swimming and the hot tub is broken. No surprise based on the up keep of our room it self. We leave for the day and guess what? Our key does not work like we did not rent the place for two night. We get in the room and No turn down service! We have a family with two small children so we had dirty diapers and food in the garbage all day. When I ask for towels because there was no turn down service the lady acted like it was normal not to have some clean the rooms when you stay more then one night. After it's all said and done we had some cracker crumbs and full garbages in our room and check out. WE GOT CHARGED AN EXTRA 100 FOR A CLEANING FEE. never will I be back and I hope no one else has to experience these unprofessional hicks!

There were water stains on the ceiling of the bathroom, the ceilings in the bathroom were short, and the bed was hard and uncomfortable. There was also no way to plug the bathtub to be able to take a bath.

For $125 a night, this hotel was a disappointment. We stayed 2 nights as we were attending a wedding and this was the only hotel within 45 minutes. The hot breakfast was great the first day and terrible the second. The attendant was overwhelmed and frazzled trying to keep up. There were no plates and most of the hot breakfast items were out and people stood around waiting. Was not offered coffee like the first day. The room is the main reason for the low rating. The room seemed very dark as you walked in, even with all the lamps on. The decor, painting, and furniture was mismatched and outdated. The bathroom needed a complete overhaul. I could reach the ceiling and I am only 5'7”. I would have expected to pay about $70 a night for this type of hotel. Truly a letdown.

My 3 night stay was ok. Could use some updates and better cleaning. The carpet looked like it was only vacuumed in the high traffic areas. The door to the room looks like it was original. The breakfast was decent but the food was luke warm.

Hotel is an older building, but it is kept up very well. Staff were super friendly. Breakfast is a typical hotel free breakfast, but it was hot, plentiful and had an adequate variety. Beds are very comfortable. Bathroom is on the small side, but it was clean and had all we needed.

Absolutely would not recommend. I stay 9n hotels of 200 plus nights a year. Visited for business, the furniture is old, and needs to be updated. They think their guests are theirs, no major hotels bolt the iron to the ironing board. COVID-19 safety is non existent. At the time of my visit, there county was red for the delta variant! The sign in the lobby clearly states masks are required, enhanced cleaning is being done, yet there is no evidence of this, staff is unmasked, no evidence of enhanced cleaning. Your guest are not thief's, and the safety of you guest should be your number one priority!

I apologize your stay was not a pleasant one with us. We do taking our cleaning standards to a higher level with the Covid-19 safety. Our county is not required to wear face masks and we leave that up to our employees. I apologize if you did not feel safe. Our guest are our first priority.

Staff was great. Hotel was clean including the pool area. Complimentary breakfast was a good variety. There were cold options and hot options. Loved that a pack n play was available for our baby so we didn't have to pack one.

Customer service was excellent, the amenities promised were all accessible and well-kept for the most part given COVID restrictions. The complimentary breakfast was great and the wifi was solid. Overall the experience was great and I would recommend the hotel to others!

Shower water would not turn off, TV remote broken, and the owner used the attached restaurant as his personal playground. The comments coming off of the group could have peeled paint from the walls. At 8pm at a family establishment where food is still being served this is highly inappropriate.

Room wasn't cleaned at all! Nasty toilet, crumbs all over counters, my kids found headphones IN the bed sheets which tells me they didn't get changed. Not worth the money! Mattress had springs poking out the side. Worn out BADLY!

Decided to stay at this hotel because it had bar. Bartender or waitress did not have mask on during COVID times. We left went to our room. The end table between the beds I had to pull out the end table to plug in the cords for lamp, clock & charging station, dirty behind the table. In the morning my sister found men's underwear next to the chair on the floor, the underwear was dark color so it blended with floor color is my guess why we didn't see it before, and it was between the chair & wall. Told the front desk lady as she laughed. She also told me I need to contact the manager myself about this.

The staff at the hotel was very polite and friendly. Rooms were clean and quiet. Breakfast was good with a nice selection. Amenities were open. I had a River view which was very nice. There is a park across the street for those traveling with children. I enjoyed my stay.

4 Stars for this stretch-- otherwise keep driving another hour to Green Bay. Clean, Quiet, nice park along the water and very friendly employees! The beds do need to be replaced, but the room had a refrigerator, a microwave, and a good workspace. Shower gets nice and hot. Individual soaps, and hair products. The Hotel was very quiet and though the surrounding downtown is vacant I felt comfortable in the room. It had been a long day so even though the mattresses are thin and sag and badly need replaced I was completely out. Liked that the room was quiet and dark. Why do hotels continue to need to print paper receipts. If I pay for multiple rooms on my credit card the receipts should only be given or EMAILED to the person PAYING = no one else There is a small restaurant on site and prices were good however I did not eat there. A colleague went down for a beer but said it wasn't good beer. 4 stars for the area. Drove out to where some of the other Hotels are and they were not near a park or area that one could walk in. This does have an area for walking nearby and the restaurant on site which for solo travelers would be a definite plus! Overall a pleasant stay.

If you're travel to our through Marinette, Wisconsin this is the absolute best place to staff. The staff is excellent. I travel frequently for work and this is my favorite hotel of all the places I stay.

If you love Victorian homes you must take a walk down street on the river beautiful beautiful homes. Yards are immaculate with beautiful gardens. I enjoyed I walked so much. The park on the other side of the road is great to visit as well.

Just drove 4 hours, exhausted, and the front entrance and room smell like cigarettes. Disgusting, afraid to sleep in the bed. Update: Tried to sleep in the car to no avail. Woke up this morning with a clearer head, everything smells like an ash tray not just the the room. Would not recommend staying here. Clearly they need to rennovate the hotel. Also possibly found mold on the popcorn ceiling.

I apologize your stay with us was not satisfactory. Our Hotel is Smoke free.

Our room, instead of queens had two full beds. The beds were old and uncomfortable. We asked for a pack n play. They didn't have one. We asked for another roll away bed. They told us they didn't have one. Then I asked for a cot - she begrudgingly told us they had one. The staff was very rude and felt like they didn't want to help us. When they brought the cot up - it felt like a bed of coils. Unpadded and so uncomfortable. The faucets were breaking both in the sink and the shower. They were loose and the shower handles wouldn't turn off. And the bathrooms were so small. The rooms were hot and uncomfortable. The breakfast was acceptable. They included eggs, sausage, hash browns, cereals, oatmeal's, and additional bread assortments, and yogurts. Not the best but not the worst. The hot tub was closed which was disappointing. But the kids had fun in the pool. I think the biggest disappointment was how uncomfortable the beds were. This place definitely needs improvements and updates.

I sincerely apologize for the issues you had during your stay. Our 2 bedded rooms are doubles, our Queen bed has only one bed in the room. I will talk with the front desk staff about the pack n plays and rollaways. Again my apologies.

The hotel staff was very accommodating from check in to check out. The food was excellent and the bar staff was very friendly. The rooms were very clean and had comfortable beds. We were rained on while on motorcycles and they had dryers which was very helpful. I've stayed there four nights over the last two years and will be the only hotel I will stay at whenever I go through town.

We had a great time both nights we stayed. Very clean rooms comfortable beds. Check in was great very sweet lady. Food was excellent in the bar area. Super hostess and staff all around. Stayed on a Thursday came back around stayed again on Sunday. Great service both nights.

I stay at this hotel frequently for business. This place feels like home for me and the staff is incredible. If you're traveling to Marinette, Wisconcin this is the absolute best place to stay. Thursday night wing night in the bar is the best social gathering in town.

This is a pretty average hotel in a great location. The inside is about the same as the outside - dated, but acceptable. My biggest issue was the creepy, poorly-lit, painted-blue-for-some-reason hallways. I was really worried what the room would look like, but the room was fine. It wasn't amazing, but it was perfectly acceptable. I'm not sure why we paid so much for this room, but maybe Marinette is a popular place to be normally?

I just don't know how to review this place! It gets the job done but not a hotel you would seek out. Not too many other choices in town. It was at the end of the days drive. It's an old hotel in an old town. Small rooms. Hasn't been updated. Wouldn't go back but it was fine for the night.

The hotel staff was courtious and tried to work well with us, but after a nights sleep we found blood on our sheets in the morning. Pretty disgusting. Manager offered us a paltry 10 per cent off. Sad case .

This is THE place to stay in Marinette, Wisconsin. I love this hotel, the rooms are nice and the bar / lounge is awesome. When I'm in town for business I rarely leave the hotel as everything I need is onsite.

I was put up at this property for work and can say it was not bad. The room was clean although the bed and pillows were not very comfortable. The breakfast buffet was free but very lack luster. The lunch and dinner is okay but the servers did not remember they were in the service industry and did not really want to do much. Wing night on Thursday gets busy and the wings are pretty good. If I was paying for the room I would have been disappointed but it was on the company dime so i did not complain

I was pleasantly surprised by this hotel. The decor is up to date throughout the hotel. There is a full restaurant off the lobby, a bonus for many Best Westerns. The breakfast was standard fare, but tasty and plentiful. My only complaint is while the room was very clean a with nice decor, the room was small. The desk chair had to be pushed in to get by, you had to shuffle to get the bathroom door closed, etc. but those were minor. I happened to have a room on the top floor overlooking the water - beautiful!

Stayed at the hotel for 2.5 months while on work assignment. I've never met a more friendly hotel staff or owner, they were extremely accommodating while I was there and literally any issue or request I had was resolved immediately. The avenue bar and grill wing night on Thursdays is lively and the wings are great. Tara(owner) is always around the hotel checking up on guests and providing top notch service. It felt like a home away from home, couldn't recommend this hotel enough.

when i was at BW in marinette wi the front desk lady was so rude she told me to leave i had no shirt getting out of the pool and she told my sister to get a life she is 8 and the girl who serves us food spilt water and did not clean up our table with water all over it

Reserved 2 queen bed room for 3 women traveling together. At hotel was given 2 doubles. Not enough room. Clerk so rude and did nothing to help. Said they didnt have queen beds yet is on the website. Told me I could have a king room that was vacant but had to pay rack rate. Beds were very old and saggy. One woman hit her ankle on a piece of metal sticking out of the box springs, causing a huge bruise and swollen ankle. First and last time staying at a Best Western.

I am sorry you believed that you were to have two queen beds. All of our rooms are rooms with 2 double beds or one queen bed. Our hotel runs full all summer long. I apologize we were not able to get you the rooms you needed. I will talk with the front desk about her being rude to you, I do apologize for her actions, she should of handled the situation a little better.

Clean and Friendly. I feel like I am at home when I stay. We Love to Stay at the Best Western in Marinette WI. The only place I will stay when I am in the area. the hotel is consistently updating the building so it is always fresh.

Very disappointing stay at the BW in Marinette. We were guaranteed an early check-in, at least by noon so we could get dressed for son's wedding at 2:00pm, as we were traveling from a long distance away. After finally getting into the room at 1:00pm, my wife was going to take a bath but there was not stop for the tub. She inquired with the young man who was cleaning the rooms and was told they didn't have any and that she should try using a washcloth over the hole to stop the water from leaking out too quickly. Eventually (long after we were gone to the wedding) a stop appeared in our room but it didn't fit the hole in the tub. As she was bathing, there was a knock on the door. A man said that the tub was flooding the kitchen and he needed to get in right away to fix it, so my wife had to end her bath and didn't have time to wash her hair prior to our son's wedding. So much for that! Things continued to go from bad to worse. Room keys did not work because of a broken lock. Was not aware of this until evening when a babysitter was going to watch our granddaughter in our room and all 3 keys that we were given would not work. Repair man came up there to fix it...took quite a while so the babysitter's mother stayed in our room with her as there was a strange man in the room. Therefore, she missed the wedding reception. Our first and last stay at the BW in Marinette!!!! Definitely do NOT stay in Room 203. I think it's jinxed!!!

I travel weekly staying at thousand of hotels across the country on business and have never encountered this. The iron in the room bolted to the ironing board! The cord attached to the iron wasn't long enough to reach the board making it a struggle to iron my clothes and I burnt myself in the process. I guess Best Western views their guest a thief's!! Stealing a a cheap Walmart iron? Absolutely ridiculous. The mattress in the room are not comfortable and worn out. They sag in the middle. Never again Best Western, I'm not a thief

I apologize for the inconvenience. Please do not think we feel our guests are thieves, that is not the case. I will have my maintenance department check on the mattress and have it replaced immediate. Again my apologies for your stay with us. We strive to make ever stay enjoyable and comfortable.

This hotel is right on the main street of Marinette with a view of the river. The staff at check-in was wonderful and very accommodating. The room was clean, but the bathroom is very small and larger adults would have a hard time.

you can walk to the old downtown or the public library or along the river...very nice views of the river if you get a room on the river side. comfortable bed, big desk, small bathroom, nice easy chair...no complaints about the room. included breakfast was ok as well, nothing special though

Stayed in a second floor room, during a heavy rain storm, we and at least six other rooms were inundated with copious amounts of pouring rain water through the clearly patched ceiling. No new room or refund provided, just extra towels from the front desk. Don't waste your time. This place is probably full of mold in the walks and ceilings.

The hotel was fine. Nothing extraordinary at all but the clerk was very friendly and the room was clean and comfortable. We didn't use the pool but did go down and it looked nice. We walked around the area a little and it was a nice place to stroll. The highlight was the breakfast. There was a good assortment of food and the waitress was very friendly and helpful. We actually ate enough that we skipped lunch. If I were in the area, I would stay here again.

The Marinette Best Western is conveniently located at the foot of the bridge between Menominee and Marinette (Michigan and Wisconsin). It is near many choices of food, beverage shopping, and entertainment. We choose to just stay there and enjoy the food and lounge.

Hotel room 424 should not have been rented out. Storms with heavy rain had ceiling leaking so bad that had to get buckets and more towels. Moved our personal item to other side of room but sleeping didn't happen with the "drip/drip" going. Bathroom was nasty as faucet for sink fell off and shower/tub couldn't get it shut off completely. Called desk, nothing available to move to another room. Next day checkout provided no discount even though we'd had the reservation for months and management should not have rented this room.

Our room was clean and nicely furnished. Bathroom was small, but also very clean. Onsite restaurant provides breakfast buffet which was excellent. If you're in town during the Marinette Logging and Heritage festival, this is the place to be. Stephenson Island is across the street. We watched the River Cities Charity ride - HOG's - Listened to the evening concert, and watched the fireworks all from the comfort of our river view room.

Nice location very good service, restaurant was very good. Overall a very good experience with one exception. The hot wasn't functioning upon arrival and was told it would be fixed in a couple hours. It was not fixed in the duration of the three day stay.

Right on MI/WI border close to the lake..Has a very pretty river view. Good availability of services close by and right in the hotel. Nice choice to make in the area. Walls are a bit thin between rooms but other than that it was a great experience.

When first walking into the room it smelled like a man's cologne. The bed linens were not clean/fresh. The pillows smelled like someone else had just slept on them. They were small pillows and extremely worn out. The beds felt like they were 20 years old and not hotel quality. American Inn in the town next door has what I consider quality beds and fresh pillows. Carpet was newer as well as the bathroom sink. The tub/shower was not so updated. Strange activity in the hallway on the 5th floor occurred at 2 a.m. during my stay. Mostly doors slamming with no voices heard talking/arguing and the sound of something outside my door trying to gain access to my room. I heard later from the locals that others have heard of such activity happening on the 5th floor. No harm done.

I would like to apologize for not meeting your standards of quality. We do our very best to make all of our Guests enjoy their stay with us. I wish you would of come to me and I could of looked into the problems. We have not heard of any strange activities on the floor. If you would of called down to the desk we would of investigated the issue and taken care of it. Again my apologies, I hope you will give us another chance if you are ever in the area again.

Easy parking, lobby is bright and inviting. Check-in/check-out was very efficient. Hotel is a little dated and run-down, but clean. Credit cards do not work in vending machines; had to go to front desk to get smaller bills. Pool was very cold, and hot tub was closed down while we were there. Free breakfast is mediocre, and staff is a bit inattentive. Room is spacious and well-maintained. Bathroom is small, and door just barely clears the toilet.

One of the nicer Best Westerns we have stayed in. The room was large and was clean and well maintained. The beds were comfortable. The staff was very friendly and helpful. THis hotel has an in-house restaurant on the first floor with a regular menu. The food at this restaurant was average, but it was nice to not have to go anywhere else to eat dinner. The breakfast was in the restaurant and was fairly nice. This hotel is right downtown and right on the river. We were on the fifth floor so the view of the river and downtown was really good. We would stay here again anytime.

The bed was soft and old, the room was dirty, the remote didn't work. And no one there could help us. The the manager never returned three of my phone messages that I left for her regarding the problem.

If I had not had the misfortune of prepaying for my room I would have not stayed here. I arrived on a cold, dark, blustery night and immediately could not find any parking. I did however notice a man and a woman in a rusted out Chevy Trailblazer smoking meth in the parking lot. Imagine what a car would look like if a car could smoke meth, this is what this Chevy looked like. We circled back around and parked in front of the hotel doors to check in and were advised there was a third parking lot across the street. In the meantime we got checked in and the clerk, who was friendly, made an off hand comment about switching our room because the original room was still dirty. At least they caught it ahead of time. The hallways are dark and painted a weird blue and the lights are the type that take on the color of the wall so it seems like you are walking in a blue tunnel. Weird. The room was poorly lit, the beds tiny and not that comfortable and the room was an ice box and there were no comforters on the beds. Just sheets. Thank god I'm up early to get to a hockey game so I can check out of here. Final advice - maybe splurge for the Country Inn and Suites.

I recently completed a two month contract with BAMC and had the pleasure of staying at the Best Western in Marinette, Wisconsin. Truly the best value in North East Wisconsin. The service and quality of hospitality was superior, in particular Beth and Brandon D working the front counter. Brandon went out of his way to make my stay as pleasant as possible. He took the time to make me aware of places to eat and local haunts. His attention to my requests were suberb and I am grateful for his kindness. I originally booked a two-night stay at this Best Western property for one guest. I called twice to update my reservation to a two-bed room for two guests. When we showed up, the reservation had not been updated according to the young man at the front desk. Needless to say, I would have given this property a negative number. The young man indicated that they did not have any more two bed rooms available and did not have the authority to give us two rooms to make up for the mistake. The young man did call another nearby hotel, the Baymont Inn, which had a two-bed room available and held it for us. It was very stressful after making first a call to the Best Western reservation line and then to the hotel itself only to be told my reservation change did not make it through the reservation system correctly when I showed up. This hotel is separated from the river by the busy highway going through town and not on the river front.

We have stayed here twice recently, and we were impressed both times with the quality of the staff at this hotel. The rooms are clean and well kept. The included breakfast is better than most, and the location is quiet and easy to find. I highly recommend this hotel. We were greeted with a smile and helpful staff. Everyone, thereafter, was just a friendly. Our room was at the front of the building so the name lived up to it's title "Riverfront". We couldn't find the listening, tv guide, for the Brewers game. Called the front desk and we told he would check and get back to us. I no more than put the phone down and had a reply. We used the "hot tub", ever so relaxing! So going this way, make this your stop.

Pretty gross hotel. If they cleaned the rooms thoroughly, it would make a big difference, as the lobby and restaurant look nice. Our bathroom had hair all over. The back of the door was full of runny goop. All lamps had fingerprints all over. Spilled beverage on nightstand, as well as change fro the previous guest. Microwave was too small for a bag of popcorn. Just bad.

Just passing through the area and chose this for the location. Beds were comfy and the room was very nice. The property is older with an old slow elevator, and the halls are dark. But it was clean and had a very nice (although limited) breakfast (eggs, potatoes, meat, nice pastries, cereal) with an attentive friendly hostess! Great shower head! The view from our room and the front of the hotel was beautiful. There is a gorgeous park and logging museum right across the street along the water. Would probably stay here again.

Excellent staff. Beautiful view. Room looked great. Breakfast and dinners were wonderful. We were able to walk around town. There is a little island that you can walk too as well. The military ships on the river are amazing to see. Love that you cross the bridge and are in Michigan too. Great little twin city feel to the area.

The staff helped us provide a suite with whirlpool tub and access to the restaurant for a couple on their wedding weekend. The couple are dear friends of ours and informed us that their room was amazing! Roomy, comfortable, spotlessly clean, well stocked, and the whirlpool tub was a real treat. They also commented on how friendly the staff was and how delicious their breakfast was from the Avenue Grill in the hotel. I will not hesitate to recommend this hotel to others looking for a place to stay in the area and want to send a special thank you to the staff that helped us book this room. Everything was easy and the room perfect!

Enjoyed my stay at the Marinette Best Western. The room was clean and I was able to relax and watch some of the Olympics. I had a family event to attend and found the location very con venient as i went to different places between Marinette and Menominee. Staff was very friendly and hospitable. I plan to stay here on my next visit.

I received word of a sudden death in the family. A relative who works at the hotel was able to secure rooms for me and 2 others at an extremely low rate. The accommodations were perfect and the service impeccable. Moreover, the restaurant made a special exception for me and prepared an item from the lunch menu (tuna melt) as a dinner. Breakfast with family ran 3 hours but the staff served us the entire time. Brenda the restaurant manager and the kitchen staff should be commended for their hospitality. I absolutely want to stay here on my next visit home.

King bed was very comfy and clean. Room was spacious and clean. Bathroom was the typical hotel setup. My only complaints are shower and toilet. The shower controls were a pain to work, hot water needed to be turned wide open and the cold just barely open in order to have a warm shower. The toilet took what seemed like 2 minutes to flush and several more minutes to fill the tank, plus there was a high pitch “squeal” when the water flowed into tank. Doubtful that it was systemic to the whole hotel, most likely just bad luck on my part. Management was notified of the issues and said they would look into them. Overall I would stay there again.

This was an ok place. Free breakfast was not very good at all, food was cold. Beds were very hard. Elevators extremely slow. Poor job cleaning parking lot of snow kept it very dangerous. Front staff not helpful on phone.

Probably one of the best experiences I've had at a hotel! From the reception staff, to the restaurant and bar attendants, this was a very pleasant stay! Thank you for all the care and general great attitudes!

The staff is great and helpful. Even at 6AM everyone is pleasant. The rooms are a bit outdated and need an update. It is also the first hotel I have ever been in that the doors to the rooms are not sprung to close. So you find yourself having to ensure it shut behind you on entering and leaving. The insulation for sound from the halls also needs to be improved. But I have had worse ....

Wonderful hotel on the river with beautiful river views. Stayed at the hotel with friends on the way to Mackinac island. The room was very nice. It was great that we were able to stop and relax at the hotel, have a drink and dinner and not drive anywhere. Service was very good and we would definitely stay again.

Stayed here because every hotel in door County was completely booked. This was the only place that I can get for consecutive days rental. The hotel was clean for the most part and the free breakfast was actually pretty decent. They have an attendance at breakfast to clear your plates and kill your coffee, or police were fantastic. The pool is OK in the hot tub is OK. They're located right downtown so you can get everything delivered to you for food. Rome was about average bathroom was a little small. That's were hard. I would stay there again based on the price and when I got. And I am a best Western rewards member.

Obviously an older hotel, but well maintained. Room was clean and bed was very comfortable. No problems. Highlight was the evening spent at dinner and in the bar. Food was good. Hotel owner and manager (both) came and visited our table in the bar area. Great visit, not just "How is everything?" Bar featured a great singer entertainer on a Wednesday. Who would have guessed? Would liked an extra day to stay but we were on a schedule.

Front desk personnel were very helpful, considerate and willing to provide suggestions to our questions about local issues. It's a nice building but needs updated accommodations. Service was great. Breakfast provided was hot & cold items of a wide variety.

This is an older property, but well maintained. Seven stories high. We got a river view room on the 5th floor. Very quiet, very fast WiFi. Buffet breakfast is great. We had dinner in their pub/restaurant, and the french dip was heavenly, possibly the best we've ever had, anywhere. If we lived here, we'd dine there every week! Desk staff was very helpful.

Nice, quiet room and good breakfast. Would stay here again. Close to things to see downtown and restaurants. We had a problem with the bill when checking out but the desk clerk was quick to fix it to our satisfaction.

Easy to find the hotel. They have lots of parking. Large, clean room. The staff are friendly and helpful. Gave reference as to where to eat out or in the hotel. We had a nice view of the river and harbour.

You would have no clue on how busy they were if we had not stayed one week. We had two rooms. Always came and cleaned early and housekeepers could not do enough. From here go across bridge to Ogden Club. The best fish tacos ever. Very reasonable.

This hotel is older, yet our AC was more quiet than many other hotels. Overall, it was good, solid stay and a great $$ value. The beds were soft even though the room smaller than other Best Westerns--it was still comfortable. The bath and bedroom were clean and the location handy with free and easy parking. Be careful of the pool--the bottom is so rocky and rough, you could actually hurt your feet on it. The on-site restaurant was so handy. My husband and I ate our dinner there and our food was hot and tasty. The breakfast buffet was delicious and cooked on site. The wait staff was professional and so helpful. The front desk was also courteous and helpful.

This hotel offers great beds, a great view and the bonus of an onsite restaurant and bar. We really enjoyed the view of the park/ river/bridge area from the window after a smooth check in! Later, after cocktails, we ordered from the restaurant and it was delicious. I liked this hotel's amenities so much I wanted to book for our return trip from Mackinac, but it was fully booked already. I would stop again!

The pictures of this hotel looked nicer online, but it was still a clean hotel suitable for an overnight stay. The elevators were slow and a little shaky, the hotel hallways looked more industrial than welcoming, and the alarm clock in the room was about 20 years old. However, everything worked, the room was fine, and the staff was cordial. The pool was also clean and had a nice beach scene on one wall, which was a nice touch. The included breakfast was one of the better ones I've had, as it offered more (and better) options than at other hotels I stayed at on this trip, but it is at a sit-down restaurant, so you are expected to tip, which adds a small, extra expense.

Very nice staff - Amber was so helpful getting us a room after we were on a waiting list since it was a completely booked weekend. Room was updated a bit. Restaurant staff was limited but they were so great and were really busting it to turn tables so great job there. Bathroom paint was peeling and faucets need updating. All in all, we would definitely stay here again.

We had a great visit to the Marinette area and the Riverfront Inn made that visit that much nicer. Located in the downtown area, close to so much including a Historic Neighborhood. If you stop here, make sure you take a walk and look at all the beautiful homes. Breakfast was included - good, not the best, but not the worst either. There was one person working the tables, pouring coffee, etc. and she was hustling! Even though it was a full restaurant, she had a smile on her face the entire time we were there.

Bonnie and Amber greeted us as we walked in from a stressful day of riding our motorcycles to stay ahead of the rain. It was nice to walk in the front door and be greeted with genuine smiles. We looked pretty bad with all of our rain gear on and exhausted faces. They fixed us up with a room on the fifth floor which faced the river and the parking lot where we could see our motorcycles. The room was great, well decorated, and the wifi was outstanding. It was fast and easy to connect to, which is not always the case. We ate in the restaurant that night and found the service was excellent and so was the food. The breakfast the next morning was very good. A nice assortment of breakfast items from eggs to biscuits and gravy. We would stay there again.

The rate was quoted at $84 but when checking in found out they charged me $117. I did get them to lower it to $91. I'm not sure if some rooms had been renovated but the room given me was in dire need of attention. First it did not have any accessible outlets. One was behind the bed. The other behind the desk. Both were extension cords used for the lamp, fridge, coffee maker. Unfortunately the mattress was so used that it felt like it sunk to the box spring. Also the hot water took a very long time to come out of the faucets. I hate to complain about everything but it was not a pleasant stay this time.

My husband and I were happy with our river side room we rented. It was very clean, pretty quiet. The front desk girl was cheerful and friendly. The breakfast was at the restaurant attached to the hotel. I think it was a good place for the night.

Would have been better if the Manitowoc ice machine was working. They couldn't find my reservation at check in but thankfully had a room available. Albeit they charged $20 more per night than what my reservation was for. Great staff. Nice pool. I slept well.

After the night before at an Econo Lodge, it was heaven to sink into the soft beds and pillows at this Best Western. Plus the river view from the room was gorgeous. We stayed on the fourth floor. Only negative thing was waiting almost an hour with three kids for two salads, sandwiches and fries in the hotel restaurant. Wish we would have checked in earlier to enjoy the pool/hot tub area and take a stroll through the park across the street.

We enjoyed spending the night here. Check in was quick and easy and the lady behind the desk was very nice. The room eas very nice as well. No problems with the TV or wifi. Nice little park and visitors center right across the street and several restaurants near by. The pool and hot tub area was nice and my husband, 2 year old, and I had it all to ourselves. We enjoyed breakfast at the restaurant with the coupons we were given at check in. It wasn't a big offering, but it was good and the one girl working was working her butt off. Would definitely stay again.

I came to visit my husband while he worked nearby and was not disappointed at all with the inn. There is room service, free breakfast in the morning, maid service every day, a pool, a gym, and a very nice staff. It is also conveniently located on the Michigan border so you have the opportunity to enjoy Wisconsin & Michigan in one trip! We would definitely come back when we're in the area again!

Spent couple nights at Best Western in Marinette, WI. Nice hotel, nice staff. Good food, good location. The only suggestion I have to put a some apples and oranges in the lobby for travelers, coffee would be good as well. Also in exercise room, it would be nice to have some towels. Vending machines (I checked 3 different floors) had no water, so I walked couple of minutes to a liqueur store to get some. Other than that, all was nice, staff was helpful.

I've stayed at this hotel each year for the past 6 years. They have been slowly modernizing the room decor and amenities and it is now at a level that is expected when I'm traveling for business. A few small items remain such as the shower head in the bathroom was showing its age as was the faucet on the bathroom sink. Overall a good value for the price and the food in the onsite restaurant is solid and above average at every meal I've eaten during my stays.

We enjoyed our one night stay at this hotel. It is an older building, but our room was clean and comfortable. I will agree with the review that mentions the straight shower rod-those DO need to go! The front desk personnel were friendly and helpful. We enjoyed a cocktail in the bar in the evening and thought the buffet breakfast (with hot and cold items) was more than adequate. I would recommend this property to any traveler. Re: train noise. Yes, they are in the area. If you are a light sleeper you should remember some ear plugs. This did not bother us at all, but consider yourselves warned.

Food is great. Restaurant staff is great. Place is very very clean. Trains come through all night and Marinette has never heard of street level RR XX alerts. Ask for earplugs and use them. Expect your key to get turned off even if you request and are granted a late checkout. Full service hotel and bar and they STILL give you free breakfast. I suppose too many hoopleheads stay at this hotel, not understanding the difference between a full service and and express hotel so they have to give away breakfast.

Road warrior, 140+ nights/year for 30 years. Check-in was smooth and welcoming. Wifi worked well. Room fell far below expectations, especially after reading the reviews. This is an old, tired property in need of a major updating. The room wasn't musty it just smelled "stale" and in need of a deep cleaning. The bed was very soft and provided no support. There were no extra plugs on or around the night stand for my CPAP machine so I had to go out and buy an extension chord. HVAC unit was so loud that I couldn't hear TV. Room was hot even with HVAC unit set to 60 degrees. Straight shower curtain rod left minimal room in shower and the shower curtain clinging to me on several occasions (and I'm not a big g guy). Can't remember the last time I stayed in a hotel with straight curtain rods but I believe it too was a Best Western. Went to the restaurant in hotel for dinner and waited, waited, waited to be seated. Finally left after standing there for 4-5 minutes and the bar tender making eye contact with me twice and ignoring me; found a really good restaurant elsewhere. Next time I will stay in Green Bay where there is a wider selection of hotels that are up to my expectations.

This is a nice gem on the northern border of Wisconsin, just across the river from Menomonie, MI. Very clean hotel with excellent service and a fantastic breakfast included. Also a very good bar and restaurant on site. This is a very busy and popular place that I would recommend to anyone. Bottom line: You won't be disappointed.

Staff is friendly. Hotel is old and tired. Several items in our room of concern. Open panel in bathroom to open chute with electric cables. Dangerous!!! Wi Fi in our room only worked in a corner. One small shampoo- no conditioner or lotion. Room coffee maker did not work. These may seem small but when you are paying a certain price everything should be in good condition. Door to the room did not shut well and was very shaky. Breakfast- it was buffet and was TERRIBLE! Scrambled eggs were instant.Hard boiled eggs tasted off and had an odor as if they were old. No oatmeal which would have helped. Only cold cereal. Had to ask for coffee refills even though the waitress was not busy.

It was a short vacation of the Michigan area that was recommended following three extensive surgeries at several hospitals and several recovery programs that covered over six months. During this time I had lost over thirty five pounds and the hospitals stopping several viruses and infections in my body and leg.

I came to Marinette to work at Marinette Marine for a week. When I arrived, the front desk man "Carlos" was very nice and fast at checking me in. It honestly took less than 5 minutes. "Lexi" was also very nice. The housekeeping staff is very thorough and kept my coffee station extra stocked per my request. My bed was very comfortable. I ordered room service from the Avenue Grille and Bar and my food was great and so was the server. Every employee I talked to here was very professional, always smiling and always asked if there was anything else they could do for me. Now that's service! The only complaint I have would be the small parking lot. It was always almost full when I returned from work due to the restaurant and bar being full. I will be returning in a few weeks to work at the shipyard again and I'm happy to be returning here!

New Front Desk Manager Bonnie Menacher does an excellent job of welcoming and administering to all of her staff. Carlos and Jenny are also very professional and welcoming. Sue in the breakfast area is wonderful and always makes certain that you are well attended to, with a tremendous free breakfast. The housekeeping staff is great, as the rooms are very clean and comfortable. There is a nice pool and hot tub and workout area. You will enjoy your stay at this hotel!

While on a business trip it's nice to have a place to go and relax and prepare for the next day. I would gladly return to this hotel on my next visit to Marinette. Some would expect poor service or quality in such a small town but I experienced neither. The view of the river was amazing, especially with the ducks and geese.

Very decently priced , right by the riverfront as the name goes . The breakfast is superb. Staff are very friendly and room service is excellent. Rooms and bathrooms very clean and maintained very well. Hotel is close to the main business areas so very convenient. Overall a superb place to stay in Marinette.

Windows don't open. Fan is not fresh air, did not cool room. October and i had to put AC on, which was loud and again not fresh air. Area around window is rotting and also stunk.! I probably will try a different hotel next time i am in Marinette.

Boxy appearance. Wonder if it was originally some sort of government bldg. Nice location on the riverfront. Handy to walk on the pleasant river path and the WI Info center is across the street. Room was clean, nice river view. Nice indoor pool and Jacuzzi. Nice to have on-site restaurant and bar. Free breakfast was just okay. Can definitely recommend, especially for a one-nighter.

Location is ok, but single beds are only queen-sized and not king. It's an older hotel with low bathroom sink. The worst part was the humidity - even with the A/C running cold all night, my birkenstocks were really gross to put on in the morning as the cork had soaked up the dampness.

I apologize for not meeting your expectations, we had a very humid summer and the air conditioning units has been running steady. I hope if you are ever in the area again you will give us another chance.

I was pleasantly surprised at how nice this hotel was. The room was large, the bed was comfortable, and everything was very clean. The desk staff were friendly. Has an attached bar/restaurant and rate included free buffet breakfast. Nothing negative to say! I would recommend it and would stay here again.

Stayed at this hotel while on business. They said I booked a room with one bed, but I showed them my reservation for two beds. They ended up accommodating my reservation, but I was frustrated that they almost caused an inconvenient situation.

Excellent hotel! Full, yet quiet. It was clean, riverside setting, walking area with footbridge to Stephenson Island park, comfortable beds. Great value booked on the Internet - includes buffet breakfast with a pleasant helpful server. A best choice!

This hotel was excellant. Clean rooms, helpful staff and a wonderful park just accross the street. Had a wonderful time. Although we did not use maid service much while we were there we did not have any trouble getting what we needed. Staff in the breakfast were excellant and the food was delicious.

Nice small town hotel . Room were clean ! Full service restaurant and lounge inside . It was nice not having to drive again for dinner . Free hot breakfast is included with room . Very good and fresh .Good dinner menu , nightly specials . Overall we were very satisfied!

I called directly for a reservation earlier that day and they were able to find a suitable room for a better rate than listed online. Room was clean and comfortable, although bed felt a little damp from the humidity and the shower had fair pressure. The lounge was open when I arrived at 9 pm and guys hanging around in parking lot to smoke, which was somewhat uncomfortable...but it was well lit and I wasn't bothered. Good WiFi connection. Breakfast ok.

Fantastic hotel. Exceptionally clean, we had a great view of the river looking across into Michigan. The hotel was busy (full), but the staff worked hard to eliminate any inconveniences. The breakfast was served in the restaurant, and the food was well prepared and tasty. The Riverfront Inn ranks with the best Best Western Hotels we have stayed.

Good location along river walk area, clean. Nice bar and grille attached. Good breakfast with hot choices. Eggs etc. Riverview room has good view of water and parks. Walk to downtown area but not much, restaurants cafes, bars , close by.

Staff were very friendly and helpful. Bed was so comfy, slept well, woke refreshed. Had a room on the top floor and the noise level was very low so we were comfortable and quiet. Really enjoyed our stay here and would stay again when traveling through Michigan and Wisconsin.

We had a nice stay at the Best Western Riverfront when we were in Marinette, WI recently for a family reunion. The rooms are very plain, very standard, but clean. Nice mini fridge in room which was convenient. The breakfast buffet was included in the price of the room and was decent. There is a workout room, which is small but serviceable and equipment was nice. Indoor pool and hot tub which were clean, but again, very standard. Location is nice as its easy access to everything in town and to Menominee, Michigan. The staff at the hotel were all very nice.

Very nice property. Great location on the river. Really nice room, almost on par with a plus. Beds were so comfortable. Possibly the best breakfast we have had at a Best Western. The pool area was very nice and relaxing with a great mural on the wall. The staff were all very nice. Definitely will return next time.

The hotel its self was nice, most all of the people were friendly, but the beds in the room were very uncomfortable. Woke up everynight/morning with a sore stiff back. The food at the bar/resturant was good, the breakfast was average.

Staff is very kind and curious and assisted in everything i needed on any given questions i had. No complaints and only the utmost respect to the people working at this fine establishment. breakfast was always warm and full of options.

Needs some quality control, bed squeaks when you sit down or move around and isn't comfortable, bedding is very low end. TV remote doesn't work, sink extremely slow draining. 3rd Best Western we've stayed at during this vacation- this one is the most disappointing and ironically it was the most expensive.

I loved everything but the pool was the most biggest ever and my room was a very nice suite and we ate at the buffet in the morning and the food was awesome. Also the bar was very loud at night and i and my wife and kids couldnt sleep!!!

This is a great place that is right in the middle of this nice little town. The breakfast was not the typical breakfast, it was made to order, lots of food too. The pool and hot tub were big and nice. We will be back next time we come to visit

Wonderful location over looking the Menominee river. Staff was very helpful and accommodating. Breakfast was a warm spread, compared to your average cold cereal an waffle maker. I would stay here again if I am ever in the area.

Just a trip with my grandson, the pool was very nice and the staff was great. I will stay again if I travel north. I see the fishing was outstanding just across the street but I did not fish. several store you can walk to for snacks

A totally grand adventure in Marinette. Love the rooms. They include a frig and microwave along with the coffee maker and hair dryer. And for people that like to iron, they have that too. Service is excellent and staff is helpful.

This hotel has a Great location on the Menominee River. The staff was attentive and fun and fun. I highly suggest it for a business stay. The food in the restaurant is very good and the staff in the bar are very friendly.

The room was left dirty women's sanitary napkins left in room spoke to front desk two times they never did anything! At check out I told the women again and she laughed very poor service! The service in restaurant was very poor they would not come to our table to wait on us; we had a large group and we had to wait on our selves they did not even clean-up table after we were done with food and drinks had to clear our tables or selves there were 6 waitress just sitting back at the bar area glaring at us and when you wanted to order a beer the barmaid had all she could do to ask what you needed like you were bothering her when she was sitting because she was very pregnant and she even cheated someone on their change she was so rude! I would not return to this BW again!

We come to this hotel 5 times a year and never have we had an issue. The rooms are large, comfortable and homey. The staff goes out of their way to make the stay awesome. They treat our group like royalty. You can not find a better place for the price and care you receive there!

I was sent to hospital due to fumes in the room. The hotel has not checked my status after the Fire Department transported me for chemical inhalation. My in laws did not get the room they wanted and where over charged after the fact. The room was dirty and the room was to hot.

We stayed here as our son was having surgery in Oconto. Glenn was very accommodating. The dates we needed were uncertain and he was very kind while working with us on the reservations. They were booked solid and we were able to get on a waiting list for one of the nights, and when an opening came, he called us right away, to set our mind at ease. The hotel was a double bed and had everything we needed. The breakfast had a wide variety of both hot and cold protein and carbs buffet style so we were pleased. Check in and check out went well, nice staff.

The check in was not so good. I had specifically requested adjoining rooms for my husband and I and his elderly sister because she is a bit apprehensive about staying in a hotel. I had made the reservations about a month before our arrival for three nights. The rooms were held for a family wedding in Marinette. We received our room keys and the rooms had clearly been assigned in advance and we did not have adjoining rooms. I repeated my request and was met with apathy and no consideration by the check in clerk. At least we were on the same floor only three rooms apart, but not a good situation. The room was clean and quiet. The bedding was comfortable and the bathroom clean. The breakfast was hot and good - though Saturday morning it was extremely busy and the one wait person could not keep the food full and the tables cleaned. The wifi was weak on the sixth floor. Overall, I would stay there again if we travel to Marinette.

We stay at this hotel 4 times a year and have never been disappointed. They treat you like family. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. They are also clean and well maintained. The food has a super Friday Fish Fry and the chicken is wonderful. The breakfast is hot and delicious. If I had a complaint at all, it would be the lack of variety on the breakfast menu. However, their scrambled eggs taste like eggs and are not rubbery, the sausage is cooked to perfection and their is an assortment of other foods. The location is nice...took a quick walk to MI and back at lunch break!

Sitting along the river in Marinette, this is located in a nice downtown location. Several good restaurants in the area. Of course, good access to the Lake, just a few miles across the river in Michigan.

Room was average - nothing special. Breakfast was included, but it was the awful, buffet comprised of rolls, cereal (in hard to use containers), small yogurts, and hot plates (powdered eggs, and other unappetizing items). The serve had to serve coffee and water, and seemed to be annoyed when asked to provide refills.

Sarah at the front desk was extremely helpful and professional in helping me book my room. After being on the road for 10 hours, I was having issues with the app on my phone, and she was able to help me book a room and acknowledged my member status with a gift. Thanks Sarah, You were the only one who did this on my entire trip! The food in the restaurant was also Very good!

This hotel was a pleasant place to stay during our three week trip to the Midwest. There were many US Navy people staying here on a semi permanent basis, but this did not post any problem. There was plenty of safe parking in the adjacent lot, which was well lit. The check-in process was very pleasant with a clerk who explained all of the amenities to us. We were pleased that the hotel contained a casual restaurant, where we could get a meal after a long day on the road. The hotel is well located in the downtown area, making it easy to get to and to exit the city. The river was very attractive and we were able to see the eclipse of the room from our large window. Every staff member we encountered was pleasant and helpful.

This property is considerably larger than your average Best Western Hotel. We were on the sixth of seven floors in a large king room with a nice view of the river. The room was equipped with both a refrigerator, microwave,and coffee maker. The staff at the front desk was friendly and efficient at check in and several luggage carts were available for guests use. I did not use the pool, fitness, or business center but they were available for use. The internet signal and speed were acceptable. There is a restaurant and pub located on premise where one can have dinner and is the location of the free buffet breakfast. We ate dinner there, ordering Walleye, which was excellent and reasonably priced. The service was "so-so" to slow. I thought that the breakfast buffet was not the best selection offered as compared to the other Best Western properties in which we have stayed. There is ample parking both adjacent and across the street from the hotel. There is a nice park with items of historical interest across the street and a short walk from the hotel. One major complaint that I have with the property, and admittedly didn't and should have mentioned to them, is that they allow people to smoke immediately adjacent to the entrance way. As a reformed smoker of 25 years, I didn't appreciate having to walk through a cloud of smoke and odor of cigarettes to enter and exit the building. I don't blame the smokers because there were no signs directing them elsewhere.

I was hopeful when I booked this hotel and saw that it had been renovated, as previous stays had proven to be disappointing. Unfortunately, this stay was no different. While it appeared to have an updated tv and bedding, I do not believe that they have put new mattresses in all of the rooms. It was not comfortable at all. The internet did not work once while I was in the room. I did ask the front desk staff if it could be looked at and when I followed up the next day, I could not get a firm answer on if the issue had been addressed. That was once I could locate a staff member. It was common to see the "Be back shortly" note. Needless to say I don't believe the staff would win any awards for their customer service. The exception is the staff in the dining room and bar....keep up the good work! It's unfortunate, as this hotel is in a great location with a nice view of the water. Unfortunately, the marketing of this property is misleading. There are a couple of hotels in the city that I will look to stay at on future trips.

The hotel itself was fine. Rooms were reasonably clean, nothing special. Staff in restaurant were great and we enjoyed the daily special of soup and a HUGE salad for $6. Morning breakfast staff was great too. The main problem was that the couple we were with used their credit card one and only time....to pay for this motel and the next morning started getting calls from their credit card company that someone was trying to use it to purchase stuff online. I have no clue what happened, but there is something fishy about that. Please be aware. I don't know if their computers were hacked or if someone was being naughty, but I would hope they would investigate. Other than that the hotel was just average and I would consider staying there again.

Check in was friendly however they requested our vehicle details which wouldn't have been OK if we were able to park on the hotel premises, we ended up parking across the street .. at night .. in the rain. Foyer smelled musty and dare I say of cigarettes? Room was clean but dated. When we put the a/c on we had a definite smell of cigarettes come into the room. Furniture was somewhat mismatched. Bathroom was very small, if you were using the shower and had the mat on the floor the door wouldn't open, definitely not room for two people to get washed and brushed in the morning. Breakfast was with a voucher, it was pretty generic and coffee pots would have been nice, once again we could have done with more coffee. The hotel calls itself the riverrfront tho in actuality the river is across the road and a parking lot away.

This hotel is a throwback to the 1970s. The decor is dark, dingy, and dated, and the lighting in the rooms is terrible. The climate control in the rooms is the old style, turn the temperature knob type and the fan is very loud. The breakfast is marginal, and if you arrive after 8 am, some items will have run out and you'll have few choices. I realize this is a small-town hotel, but by Best Western standards this place is far below average.
