"Good hotel outside Mannheimer Quadraten"

We have already stayed at this BW several times. (+) The hotel is located in a quiet office and industrial zone, but close to residential areas and the university hospital. Perfect for travelers with a car - plenty of free parking slots. Modern, functional design. The upper floors can be reached by elevator. The hotel is popular with both, families and business people. Rooms are clean, have tea/coffee maker, power socket by the bed, walk-in shower in the bath, toiletries are very basic. No fitting carpets! Good breakfast with selection of bread, cheese, yogurt, eggs, hot drinks, also a few products for people with lactose and gluten intolerance. Small simple fitness room with sauna in the basement. Vending machine and the bar in the lobby. Helpful staff. Definitely good value for money. Reception is not manned at night, but there is an emergency phone that works surprisingly well for us when we had no access to the room late evening. (-) Standard room offers little space for large luggage. The ventilation in the bathroom is switched off in the evening. No restaurant.

Terrible place to stay. Rooms too small. Unprofessional staff. No amenities in the room. Very noisy room. The AC makes strange loud noises every 5 minutes even when off. I would never ever stay at sich a hotel again and I advise any family with children to stay away from it. The price does not justify what you get (which is nothing). Even the breakfast was bad. All in all: avoid at all costs!

Super friendly and helpful, primarily at the reception but others too. Great value for the money, clean, quiet, all the amenities required for a good business trip. Right distance to customer, still easy to get to downtown, attractions and restaurants. Anytime again.

The hotel is about 20 minutes walk from the city center but close to different places as for example the hospital. The rooms are nice and not small at all. Pretty clean and good isolated. I didn't try the breakfast and I have seen better service at the reception but honestly, for the 60 euro the night it is much more than I expected. Tipp: you can easily find parking places at the street, you don't necessarily need to drive in the hotel's parking lot.

Arrived at the hotel and checked in. Went to the bar and ordered a wine and a beer. Wine came straight away. After about 10 mins we asked whete the beer was. Girl said oh sorry I forgot. Room was nice modern and clean. We got ready n wen t out. Got back to hotel about midnight. Got in bed and our double bed only had a single duvet. Went down to reception and nobody was there. So there was a phone number on the front door to call if nobody was at reception. Obviously nobody answered. And I got locked out. I'd stay here again cos its cheap and nice but if you fall ill in the night be prepared to die cos nobody is there to help. Still defros defrosting my toes after having no quilt all night

We stayed 4 nights in a suite in July 2019. We liked the spacious room with separate toilet & bathroom. The king bed was excellent. Our suite had a good bed sofa, so 4 person's family stayed here comfortably. Somehow the room felt a bit under furnished: there was no dining table or fridge/bar, that would be good additions to this size of a room. The hotel's breakfast was sufficient in varieties. Also gluten free bread was available by request. There were also things to criticize, mainly on service side. Our room's big windows could not be closed properly for 2 first nights and the blackout curtains did not reach the end of the windows. Both issues were told to the reception after first night. Due to communication problems within personnel these were not fixed and we were not contacted in any way. Only after raising the issue again after 2 poorly slept nights we got the maintenance to fix windows. The cleaning also forgot to deliver bath towels, bathrobes& slippers and there were no bathroom amenities. There are also things that could be better in the property: at any level of a hotel room I would expect these things in a toilet: a mirror, a rubbish bin, a hook for a hand towel. Furthermore: when a laundry room and an echoing stairway are situated right next to a bedroom, you are guaranteed to get comments from clients of poor sleep quality. Noise from the laundry began before 8 am and continued well through late hours in the evening. I travel a lot and appreciate a genuine service attitude. At this, Plaza Hotel Mannheim still has some work to be done. It is not uncommon that there are service errors. In these situations a well functioning team communicates clearly (with each other and to the client) and tries their best to make a guests stay at a hotel as pleasant as possible. It is always a good idea to think: "how would the customer feel?" and then decide how to solve the problem. Anyhow, I respect, that the hotel reacted to my feedback and got their act together for the 2 last nights of our stay. With a little more experience and hopefully also some service coaching, this hotel's staff are able to win customers' appreciation and even better scores in the future.

The hotel is newly converted from office spaces. To my taste they did a good job, everything is clean and the room we were in had a good layout. The hotel staff seem competent as well. The immediate surroundings are not residential and so I can imagine that this location fits well for people with a car rather than people relying on public transport. Given we traveled in a car in can only theorize though about the public transport options. I would stay there again.

Very nice hotel with lovely rooms and bathrooms Friendly staff Clean and tidy Nice breakfast But.... They give you a double bed with a very thick single duvet which can be very frustrating The staff decide to start dragging the outside furniture around at 05:45am, it's very loud and woke me up
