« Slight food problem, but they fixed it right away when I pointed it up to them. »

We have to pick up and drop off our daughter at Liberty University several times a year. The price for a night's stay is fine! Being close to the school in Lynchburg Virginia is good also! We've been coming here to this location for a few years now, and expect to be returning for a few more years while our daughter is still attending school.

« Reasonable stay for intensives »

This is my third weekend at this location in the past 12 months while attending intensives at Liberty University. The hotel is located near the school and mall so it is very convenient to school less than five minutes. The hotel is also near the main drag of town and food and shopping are close by.

« Hotels Lynchburg, pet friendly, clean and reasonable rates »

We needed a place to stay overnight on the way down South in the Lynchburg area. This hotel was a very good choice. Located in town close to shopping, restaurants and gasoline. Pet friendly as well. Free breakfast in the morning. All good no complaints. Although it did not impact where we stayed it appeared that the facility was upgrading itself, installing new carpeting in a section of the hotel, nice to know that they are taking care of the establishment.

    « Exceed our expectations! »

We operate on a very loose travel itinerary and this rarely gets us in a bind with lodging, but when we showed up at the Best Western we were in a bind. There was not a single room to be had in Lynchburg because of a college event. Shane and David at the front desk went above and beyond to secure us a room at their full to capacity (-1 room on hold until 9pm) hotel. After the excellent service at the front desk, we were very pleased with our very clean, newly updated (?) room. It smelled brand new! Definitely *no* bed bugs. All standard amenities were in working order. We were very comfortable and very pleased. Wifi worked great. It was a quiet stay, no noise issues. There was a very good continental breakfast in the morning. The check-out staff was nice too. We would recommend this hotel to anyone!! Thank you, Shane and David for an outstanding job!!

« Will not stay here again »

We made last minute reservations when going to a concert. Seemed to be home football games that same night and everywhere was booked. This was our only option. At $120.00 a night it was not even close to being worth the price we paid. Maybe a $29.99 a night motel. The desk staff was pleasant and helpful with directions. The room was not even close to decent. Not very clean and you could tell the way the the bed skirt was all off center towels hung wrong etc the housekeeper did not take time on preparing the room. The curtains did not fit to keep the lights out. The bed was so old and worn out we were sleeping on springs. That made Noise just when breathing. We got up before the sun just to come home and sleep.

    « Lynchburg BW Stay »

I would not pick this location first. Just didn't measure up. Had us up a tree since rooms in Lynchburg were a premium. We are BW fans but this one let us down. Breakfast was not up to par even with the selection of foods that required no prep. Location was ok for our activities.

    « Best Western - Lynchburg »

I am a Liberty University student who stayed at the Best Western for an intensive. I found the experience to be very pleasant. The rates was cheaper than most places in the area, the rooms were nice, and the staff was very friendly.

    « Gone down hill »

This was our third or fourth time staying here and the times before we have always felt like it was a good, clean hotel with great service. However, this visit was different. We were visiting our son at college and have stayed at a few other hotels in the area and this one is not as bad as some, but it is definitely not worth the money we paid, even with getting a good deal. The room was dirty, there were hairs everywhere. It was evident that not a lot of care goes into cleaning the rooms. It smelled like a mixture of smoke and air freshener. The breakfast was adequate at best. They ran out of a lot by 9:30 and they served until 10:00. The person manning the breakfast area was also checking people out at the front desk. It seems as if this BW is under new management. We decided today we would not be going back. It is worth a little extra money to enjoy your hotel experience.

    « Virginia September 2016 »

The hotel was suitable for our purposes being an overnight stop for our next destination and was reasonably convenient to the restaurants. The breakfast is basic but adequate. The reception staff was friendly and helpful.

« People in Wheelchairs Matter too »

This hotel is a fine stay - unless you are in a wheelchair. I suggest you look somewhere else where actual thought is put into providing an accessible room. Putting up bars to surround the toliet, entrapping the wheelchair bound individual and putting a shower seat in a too small bathtub is unacceptable.

« Blue Ridge Parkway Stay »

Stay at this BW was acceptable. Door needed repair due to it allowing outside air to blow in from outside. Office staff was helpfull and courteous. Offered easy to follow directions to the Parkway and recommended good places to dine. Attractions at the Appomatox Court House were very interesting and informative.

    « Always dependable stay. »

This hotel always gives dependable service for my business stay every week. I have a freezer truck that has to be plugged in at night and they have always acommodated our company for many years. The staff is always very friendly and helpful.

    « So comfy »

This was a great hotel...receptionist had great customer service and the room was very comfortable and temperature was perfect... Housekeepers done a great job...not a spot was missed when it came to the cleaning... I would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the Lynchburg Virginia area

    « Exceptional »

My wife and i stayed here for two nights on Labor Day weekend as a a weekend getaway. We elected to stay here because of the rewards program and the reasonable pet fee. The room was comfortable and clean. The hotel is convenient to the local historical sights, shopping and dining. The staff went above and beyond the day following a power outage. They offered us a different room, offered assistance in getting some breakfast items (power was out in the breakfast area also) and made an adjustment to our bill.

« Best of the Best »

The room was very clean and the second day it was cleaned again with fresh towels and such. The beds were made again the second night. The room was well furnished and the lighting was great. The price was right too, since we got one night free that we earned for all of our previous stays. Don

    « Great Hotel »

We have stayed at this hotel twice now because our daughter now attends Liberty University. They have a good breakfast and a nice outdoor pool. It's close to good food and about 5-10 minutes from Liberty University.

« our trip to lynchburg to visit family »

this motel was great mostly due to the very friendly and accommodating staff. the breakfast was amazing, we couldn't have asked for more. it was located right in the heart of Lynchburg making it easy to visit family. the only disappointment was with the beds. too soft and lumpy for me. we will definitely stay there whenever we visit.

    « Disappointed »

I have stayed at BW many times, not this particular BW though. This was well below the standard that BW has set for me in the past. The lights were not working, there were no blankets, the shower plumbing was loose, there was only one bottle of shampoo and one bar of soap for four people, they were short-staffed at the front desk, and the surrounding rooms were yelling and being loud until midnight. The breakfast selection was not even as good as at other BWs. I will stay at a BW again, but I will not stay at this BW again.

    « Awesome customer service »

clean rooms convenient location great customer service. we stayed a week with our wolf/German Shepard dog the staff spoiled my dog he didn't want to go home. continental breakfast not bad either. very quiet for its location.

« Very clean, pleasant hotel »

This hotel has obviously worked hard to get to where it is today. I was a little concerned since it's reputation when we lived here 5 years ago wasn't the best but they allowed our puppy to stay with us so we took the chance. The renovations are incredible as it looks like this Best Western had a complete face lift. The employees are super friendly, the pet friendly rooms have absolutely no pet smell to them and the hot breakfast is very good, though it should stay open later on weekdays for families who are here for leisure, not business as we weren't even awake by the time breakfast was closed down on a summer weekday. The pool is beautiful, warm, and clean however, it is a very small pool for a hotel. This has been a surprisingly nice visit and this hotel holds up to the Best Western name!

    « BW Horror »

I am a big fan of Best Western Hotels and the one in Lynchburg is the worst. I wouldn't recommend that hotel to anyone. We booked two rooms and immediately upon entering one of the rooms there was a stench. I will give it to management they reacted very quickly. The décor in the rooms is outdated and the room has a dirty feel to it. Lastly, you had to enter the room from outside which raised and safety and security concern for my family. There was a smoking sign posted, but it was ignored by patrons which result in smoke coming into our room because of the neighbors so to speak.

    « Good stay »

Nice place in town. Easy to find. Staff was good and check in and was quick and easy Close to food and shopping. A couple of small things wrong, but not deal breakers about staying again. The AC blew on the bed and I put the chair in front of the unit. They did not have the usual pen and paper to take notes on. That said I would stay again and would recommend it to others.

    « Overnight »

My husband booked this online via Priceline. I arrived late and David was most helpful. He is a great asset to this company. Although the room was clean, it needs updating. The air conditioner keep making a jolting sound whenever the fan turned on and off. Also very noisy.

    « A Good Stay »

It was a very nice stay in Lynchburg. The hotel was centrally located with a lot of stores and restaurant options near. The only thing I did not like was the ability to access the room from the outside--it was more like a motel than a hotel. The beds were nice for a 2 night stay.

    « local hotel »

best western is nice and easy located hotel with out door gorgeous swimming pool and gazebo, rooms are nice and clean, easy access to all restaurant and close to liberty university, best western does have freeze, micro wave and free wifi

    « H.O.G. ralley »

great experience , all employee very helpful rooms were clean and neat many choices for food within walking distance , pool was neat with plenty of seating , the gazebo is a great and welcome addition we spent the rainy day there and every evening

« Poor quality room and food, noisy, smelly, dirty »

Poor quality room and food, noisy, smelly, dirty, broken items, smelly towels, safety concerns... I didn't want to walk on the carpet. Room smelled very bad upon entry. Broken items, problems with lighting and outlets.

« Best Western for Graduation »

I have stayed at this hotel often during the 3 years my daughter has been a student at Liberty University, and its always been very nice. However, I was very disappointed when they jacked up the price at graduation to 3 x's their normal rate.

    « Family Reuion Nightmare »

Don't stay at this Best Western it should be named Worst Western. We had a family reunion Memorial Weekend and service was the worst I've ever experienced. Room had stink bugs, ants, dog hair and no air. To start everything they had me booked for ten rooms. At check out they charged me for two nights and I only stayed one. They charge me for a second day before it got here. Never in my life have I had and experience like this and I've traveled around the world. Third world countries have better accommodation better than this hotel. So be aware stay at your own risk.

    « Not Handicap acommidated »

Not concerned about quest disabilities and did not acommidate my needs. The need for my credit card when I paid cash was offensive to me as a senior and I felt like I was being accused of dishonesty. The lack of respect for my hearing disability and request for a first floor room was a slap in the face and against the americans with disabilities act. they obviously had alot of available rooms but was not even offered a first floor room

« Great slay for Liberty Visit »

Great location to Liberty University at a great price. Clean, comfortable rooms with a nice hot breakfast. Pet-friendly location that won't charge a ridiculous amount per night to bring your 4-legged family member along.

    « Clean and Friendly »

Very friendly staff and clean room at a low price. Stayed here last minute while traveling with friends and the front desk was extremely helpful. The room is well appointed for a budget hotel, and had all the amenities you would expect anywhere else. Great place!

    « Not Much »

Not as good as I expected, not as clean or updated. Close to everything we needed. Staff were all good and accomodating. Motel needs much better curb appeal. I would only stay here again if I had to. It wasn't terrible but could have been much better.

    « Worst Hotel Ever »

The room was dirty. The outside door did not shut and seal properly. The exterior of the Hotel was atrocious. The no smoking policy was not enforced at all and the bathroom fixtures were disgusting. I don't believe that we would stay at any Best Western facility ever again.

    « A plus cost effective »

I have stayed at Best Western in several locations and always find a clean reasonably priced place to stay. Best Western is my first choice. I never had a room that was not as good as it could be. I have and will recommend Best Western to my friends.

    « BW Lynchburg Needs A Change »

I have always recommended Best Western Hotel to anyone who asks. BW is always my first choice of hotels to stay in. They are usually always Superb. This hotel really needs be considered for an upgrade. I was very disappointed with the entire room experience.

« Amazing staff, great value »

This has become my preferred hotel when traveling to Lynchburg. The entire staff is courteous and helpful - the housekeeping staff, front desk staff, the breakfast staff and the owner! During this stay a winter storm moved in and made travel difficult. After breakfast the owner told us that if we were unable to get out for meals, to come to the office and they would find us something from the kitchen. Beds are comfy, breakfast is good, with rotating menu. Showers have good water pressure and water stays nice and hot. A very good stay for a very nice price.

« Not worth the price »

We stayed on a Monday night. It cost over 100 dollars. The room was dirty. We found someone's socks in the room. The fridge rattled all night the sheets were dirty. One of them had a stain on it. I would expect this in a cheap mom and pop place but not a Best Western. We would had found another place but the roads were bad and we needed a fast place. Won't go again here.

    « Not that great. »

It tends to be pricey as it is close to the university. The front desk staff are amazing and very helpful. The housekeeping staff not so much. The facility is OLD and beds not very comfortable. They offer a free breakfast which was edible. Not great but okay.

    « Friendliness and Service....Priceless! »

No frills motel. All of our basic needs were met. Outdoor corridors. Pulled the car right up to the door...easy in and out for a soccer tourn. Breakfast was delicious! Rooms were immaculate and tasteful. But it was the staff who made the stay worth every penny! Hard to find people like this. Near tons of food options as well as local colleges etc...

« Nicest hotel staff I have met »

This was an unplanned stay after a long day of driving after picking my daughter up from a couple of months of rehab after a back injury. David at the front desk was able to set us up with a room that was comfortable for her in terms of accessibility and comfort. We did not have a reservation, but based on previous stays at this hotel, this was our first choice. The room and price were great, the breakfast was good, and the staff were great. That includes the desk staff both evening and morning, the housekeeping staff and the kitchen staff. Will stay here again next time I am in town.

    « Nice stay »

Front desk staff was friendly and helpful. They even allowed us to check out later than normal. Even though we had a smoking room, it did not smell like an ash tray. Nice pleasant and relatively quiet stay.

    « Nothing Special »

This hotel is very basic but fine if you are passing through. They appear to be upgrading things, but rooms still fell tired and outdated. Lobby and breakfast area was nice. Food was good. We were just visiting a friend in the area and needed a basic place to stay. Wish the pool was indoors as our kids couldn't swim in December.

    « satisfied »

I was given a discount for my stay which really help me out. Since I was in town to pick up my daugther from college and had to rent a car for the trip as well. I will definitely stay at this location again because the staff were very professional and helpful.

    « Lynchburg Christmas Spectacjular »

This hotel is an older property, but well maintained, and most importantly, clean. We had a king bed, and that had been upgraded obviously, as it was very comfortable. The breakfast was as expected, cold cereal, instant oatmeal, microwaved scrambled eggs, sausage, and various pastries. The bathroom was clean, but fixtures were dated. We stayed at several hotels on this trip through Western Va, and this was as good as any, and cheaper. On top of that, the staff was extremely friendly, efficient and helpful.

    « Lynchburg VA »

Checked in without a reservation - easy Staff very courteous Renovation going on, on Lobby exterior..did not interfere with check in or departure. Older hotel, but comfortable & clean. Free continental breakfast is a nice perk

    « My Spare Bedroom »

I don't have a large house, so when I have company, I use the Lynchburg Best Western? as my "spare bedroom." This is a perfect solution whenever I need it. The site is in process of being renovated and upgraded, but although it was obvious that work was going on, this did not interfere significantly with our stay and there was no real inconvenience. After the work is through, the site will be even nicer.

    « Great Family Support! »

Excellent Help with locating my son from the staff of the Best Western made me feel like family!! the hotel was clean ,the staff was business like, I would recommend this hotel to anyone that travels to Lynchburg VA.

« More Attention to Detail »

They did not explain the wifi connection process, so when I saw it was an open access, I didn't connect. Actually, after you click to connect, THEN it goes to a secure page. If they had explained that, I would have felt more confident. In addition, the toilet being very loose from the floor, the curved shower curtain rod being loose, and the sink spraying water on the counter causing a shock hazard was a problem.

    « Decent stay »

The hotel is a simple budget place to crash. Their breakfast is hearty & stays stocked until 10am. Beds are ok, wifi is weak though. The best part is its centrality to liberty university and the strip where you can find Walmart, Cracker Barrel, chick fila.

« Great Staff - Run down Hotel »

The staff at the Best Western are very nice and helpful. However, the hotel is very run down. While the rooms may be well cleaned, the rust on the towel racks and any metal surface gives the room a dirty feel. The furniture, bedding, etc all looks extremely worn and dated. We were using Reward Points for a free night, but would have otherwise chosen a different hotel while staying in the area.

    « A+ Staff at a Currently Lacking Hotel »

I was pleasantly surprised that I would find a hotel, which needs a major facelift to be so accommodating. The staff is wonderful and attentive to the needs of their guests. Without needed internet service, I would recommend this hotel to my friends. The hotel is currently being updated and if they continue to retain their staff, their future is bright.

« Nice staff, crummy hotel »

I could tell by the photos that this hotel wasn't going to be super nice. On a quick business trip, that doesn't bother me, but I would definitely recommend the Quality Inn down the street. They're about the same price, but the Best Western is right on top of the highway, so it's very noisy all night. Also, there aren't a lot of outlets in the rooms. The few I had didn't work, so I ended up charging my phone in the bathroom. The shower was sort of gross, and the faucet leaks non-stop. Staff was nice and breakfast was decent, but I'd really need to see some improvement before I stayed here again.

    « Thumbs up!! »

We really enjoyed our stay here! It didnt break our wallet. The room was big, the bed was comfy, & cleaner than most places we've stayed at. Only things that bothered us was the air conditioner didn't work too well and the shower mat was a little dingy. Other than that the staff was great, the breakfast was one of the better selections we've seen and it tasted great! Definitely would stay again!

« nothing to brag about »

bed was uncomfortable, a/c unit was all dusty and clanged and banged every 15 minutes. got about 4 hours sleep. did not give off a clean, fresh scent in the room. Very forgettable experience. will not stay here again.

« The Staff of Best Western treated us Excellent. »

Stayed for two nights in Lynchburg @ Best West. I was impressed at how accommodating the folks were at this hotel. They were working very hard to make sure we had what we needed. It is a unique property with the pool and gazebo out back. I know Best West has its normal clients staying there, but they made us feel extremely welcome. Thanks for taking care of us!!

« Circumstance of Disaster = Best Western to the Rescue »

Well done, Best Western! Was recently in town for the Lockn Music Festival in Arrington. We had a one-night reservation on Wednesday prior to the beginning of the festival on Thursday. Late Wed, a terrible storm his the festival grounds that made them cancel the Thursday festivities. We quickly reserved rooms for Thursday, which quickly booked up. The way that the hotel accommodated the guests on Thursday was best in class. We spent the day at the pool and gazebo area and turned into one fantastic day. The hotel staff and maintenance were extremely accommodating and our group was very appreciative. What was originally a bummer that the festival opened a day late turned into a great experience because of the hospitality at BW. I highly recommend this hotel due to its customer service if you're passing through Lynchburg.

    « Great customer service »

We booked a one night stay the night before a nearby music festival was to begin. A damaging storm rolled through the festival grounds that day and the fist day of the festival was cancelled at 11:30 pm the night before. We immediately went to the office to request another nights lodging and thankfully they had not sold our room for the next day. There were quite a few other festival goers staying on the property and though the staff was a bit thrown off by all of the last minute shuffling and rebooking, they were super friendly and accommodating to us and the others. The manager David was very nice and helpful. Unfortunately the room was not as great as the customer service here. It was pretty run down, though it did have a newer AC unit. For the money I guess I shouldn't have been surprised though. Cleaning staff was loud in the a.m. Overall we were happy to have a place to stay.
